Welcome to today's episode of the Mindset Mentor Podcast. I am your host, Rob Dial.
And if you have not yet done so, hit that subscribe button so you never miss another
episode of the number one motivational podcast in the entire mother effing world. Today,
we're going to talk about how to rate your life and how to
have a date with yourself to change your life for the better every single month and every single
week. Now, the reason why this is important is because if you're listening to this the day that
it comes out, it is a brand new month. And with a new month means that we can step into a new
version of ourself to become even better. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to go over a system with you that I made up and
I used to do with my one-on-one clients all of the time.
This is actually part of every single call that we would do.
And the phrase is actually called CRIPES.
It's an acronym and it's C-R-I-P-E-S.
And it's a very simple way to go through every single month and every single week and
rate yourself to see how you think you're doing in your life, to see where you're doing
well at and you need to continue doing well.
And then where you actually need to look at and go, you know what?
I'm not doing as well here as I want to be.
And the reason why is because guys, we're humans.
We have so many plates that we're spinning.
If you just think about how many plates are spinning in your life, it's crazy. And so if you can sit down and have 10 minutes with yourself
every single week, just a date with yourself every single Sunday, this tiny simple thing can change
your life. But you just have to make sure that you put it in your schedule to have this date with
yourself because ultimately it's your life. And if you really want to make it, go to the next level
and try to figure out where you are doing great, but also where some of your shortcomings are.
This is a super, super simple way to do it. So what does it stand for? C-R-I-P-E-S stands for
career. Actually, I'll go through each and every one of them with you before I give you all of the
goods. So let's go through each one. If you have a pen and paper with you, this would be a really great time to grab a pen and
paper. If you're driving your car, you know, maybe try to just remember these numbers as these
numbers are coming through. And then if you're on the train or something like that, just put this
on your phone. Let's go ahead and do this together. Okay. So the first, first thing is the C and the
C stands for career. And so what we're going to do is we're going to think about your career. Okay. This could be, if you have a job, this could be, if you have a business
and I want to think about your career, how has your career been in the past month? So in the
past 30 days, how has your career been? How on point do you feel like you've been at work with
yourself, with your employees, with your sales on track to your next promotion, or to getting more commission,
or to bring you on the next employee that's going to change your business.
Or this could even be side hustle as well. Maybe you have a job and then on the outside of it,
you also have a side hustle. So I want you to think of the past 30 days. And I want you to
think of the career, everything that brings in money into your bank account. And I want you to
rate yourself one to 10. One would be like, literally, you're
basically homeless and you have no career and you haven't had a career pretty much your entire life.
Okay. So that's number one. So all the way up to 10 could be like, you mean your life is cranking.
You don't even have to work and you're just making boatloads of money coming into your bank account.
Your career is perfect and it could never get any better. I want you to rate yourself on a scale of
one to 10 and jot that down with your pen and paper right now. For those of
you guys that are on the train or happen to be doing something, just put it in your phone. Just,
you know, put the number down real quick. And for those of you guys that are driving,
just try to remember this. Okay. So what would you rate yourself on your career?
Okay. So that's the C. The next thing is the R. The R stands for relationships. Okay. I want you to
think of your relationships the past 30 days. If you're spinning a plate of relationships,
how has that plate been spinning for you? So you have obviously your romantic relationships. If
you're married, how has your marriage been the past 30 days? If you have a boyfriend or girlfriend,
how is that relationship? If you have multiple boyfriends or girlfriends,
then that's okay with everybody. How would you rate those relationships? If you're
single, how would you rate that relationship? Whatever it is, being single, there's nothing
wrong with it. So how would you relate your relationship with yourself in that case? Like,
what would you put it there? So you got your romantic relationships. You've also got your
friendships, all of your friends. How would you rate the past 30 days of all of the stuff you've been doing with your friends? Write it all down. What do you think?
What would you rate yourself? And then you think of your family. So you've got your children.
You've also got, if you do have children, you've also got your brother and sister. You've got your
mother, your father. How would you rate your relationships over the past 30 days? One would
be absolutely terrible. Your relationships are
in shambles. 10 is that your relationships are all perfect and there is no way in this entire
world that it could ever get better. What would you rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10?
Okay, so that is the R. Now we're going to go into intellectual. This is how much you're feeding
your mind. So over the past 30 days, how much
have you been feeding your mind? This could be reading. This could be learning. This could be
courses. This could be hiring a coach or mentor. This could be listening to podcasts. You know,
on a scale of one to 10, this could be going to school. What would you rate your intellectual?
One being like, it's been absolutely terrible. You need to really improve.
And 10 being like, it's been perfect. There's absolutely no way to improve. What would you
rate yourself on a scale of one to 10 intellectually just over the past 30 days? Okay, cool. Now we're
going to go to the P. P stands for physical. We're going to talk about just your physical body.
What goes into your physical body? Okay. Let's say that, you talk about just your physical body. What goes into your physical body?
Okay. Let's say that, uh, you know, in your physical body, you've got working out. Okay.
How have you been on your workouts in the past 30 days? Okay. What about your food? How's your
food been in the past three days? Have you been eating really well, eating the healthiest you've
ever been? Have you been eating a lot of fast food or fatty stuff or greasy stuff? You know,
your weight, what would you, your weight is included in that obviously. What would you, what do you think about your weight
if you were to rate yourself in your whole physical category? What else goes into it besides
just that? Think about your sleep. Your sleep changes a lot of physically how you feel. How
about how much energy you have every single day? Are you just dragging ass throughout the day or
do you have a ton of energy through the entire day? How much water are you drinking? Right? These are all important things to think about. So you have your physical on a
scale of one to 10. What would you rate your physical on a scale of one to 10 and make sure
that you write it down and make sure you're writing all of these numbers down. So you've
got your physical. Next is your emotional state, emotional state. This could be how much happiness and joy and peace and gratitude. How
much happiness, joy, peace, and gratitude do you feel every single day? And over the past 30 days,
what would you rate yourself? Would you rate it that it's terrible? Or would you rate that it's
incredible? You know, on the other side of happiness and joy and peace and gratitude,
you have stress, worry, anxiety, sadness, fear.
So what would you rate yourself? One being like you're completely crippled in anxiety and fear
and stress and worry and you can't even leave your house. Ten being like you don't even know
how to spell fear because you're so happy and joy and peaceful and you're basically an enlightened
being that's about to take off into a light body and ascend into the universe, whatever it is. I
don't know, right? That's your emotional state. What would you rate your emotional state over the past
30 days? Okay. Write that down. One to 10. Rate yourself and be honest with yourself. You don't
go too hard. Don't go too high. Just think, what is my intuition telling me that I would rate myself?
Okay. And the next one is spiritual. What would you rate your spirituality over the past,
you know, 30 days? And this could be church for some of you. This could be synagogue. This could
be temple. This could be meditation. This could be yoga. This could just be the overall sense of,
you know, trying to bring peace and gratitude into your life. You know, whatever spirituality
is for you, it's different for you than it is for me. And it's different for you than it is for every other person that's listening to this. So when I
say spirituality, what do you feel that means? Right? It doesn't have to be a religion attached
to it. What do you feel like it means? And on a scale of one to 10, what would you rate yourself
if you were to have to rate yourself on a scale of one to 10 in your spirituality? Okay. Write that
number down. Okay. Now here's where we got to make sure that
you have a, you know, this is why it's good to write it down is because you're going to add
all of these numbers up. So add all of these numbers up, find out what the total is. So it
could be like, Oh, I got a seven on this one and eight on this one, a five and a half on this one,
a six on this one. And you have all these numbers. What would you rate yourself? One to 10 on each of
them, add all six of those numbers up. And what you're going to do is you're going to take that number
and you're going to divide the total number by six. Okay. Divide the total number by six
and you'll have something like a 6.5, right? So let's say that you got a 6.5. There's going to
be probably a decimal point in there for, for almost everybody that's out there, right? So
let's say you got a 6.5. What you're going to do is you're going to move that decimal
point over one spot to the right. So that 6.5 would then turn into a 65, aka a 65%, right?
And I want you to look at this. And what we're going to do is we're going to rate your life
as if it was a test. Okay. So if we're looking at it, you know, we got a 65,
6.5 turns into a 65 if you move it over 65%. So if I'm looking at it, when I went to school,
I don't know what it is anymore because it's been a long time since I was in any school,
but I remember an A was 90 to 100%, right? A B was 80 to 89%. A C was 70 to 79%. A D was 60 to 69%. And an F was everything 59 and
below. That was an F. And so if you're looking at it, look at your number and then see what grade
A, B, C, D, or F you would give yourself? You know, if this was a test and you were turning
in the test of your life to your teacher, your creator, whatever it is, whoever's out there that
you believe in or don't believe in, you're turning in your test to them. What would you have just
rated yourself? Okay. So if I got a 6.5 and I moved the desk point over, that's a 65%. I look at it and I go, okay, a D is 60 to 69%.
So that means that I just rated myself on my life a D.
2020 has been an unexpected year. So how can your business plan for the unexpected and operate
virtually? I recommend making sure that you're finding the right talent to complete your tasks
efficiently and at the level that you want. But finding the right talent can be time-consuming,
frustrating, and expensive. That's why I've been using Fiverr for about four to five years now.
Fiverr has a global talent of on-demand freelance talent. So whether you're launching your first
business or scaling your current business, or if you're in need of extra support to complete a
project, or if you're just trying to digitally optimize your business,
Fiverr has what you're looking for.
And Fiverr's super easy as well.

code DIAL, D-I-A-L. Once again, that's Fiverr.com. The code is DIAL.
I-A-L. Once again, that's fiverr.com. The code is dial.
Now here's the super important part. I've done this hundreds, if not thousands of times with people. The first thing I'm going to say is when you see the grade that you just gave your life,
do not, absolutely do not get emotional because some people look at it and they go, Oh my God,
my life is an F. My life is a D. I'm living the one life that I know that I have and I am failing my life.
Now, I don't want you to get emotional.
Look at it with the least amount of emotion that you possibly can and look at it objectively
and say, okay, this is where I'm currently sitting.
There's nothing wrong with that.
I just wasn't aware.
I wasn't awake.
Now I'm aware.
Now I'm awake. Now let's make a
freaking plan for me to make my life better, right? Let's make a plan to make my life better
over the next 30 days because over the last 30 days, I rated myself a D. So how can I make,
and I don't want you to like go from, how do I go from a D to an A? I want you to go,
how do I go from a D to a C? That's it. I don't need you to vastly
improve every single aspect of your life and make sure all the plates are spinning to the
optimum level and the optimum speed and all those things. No, no, no. I just want to move
just a little bit up and just continue to keep working on yourself every single day.
Okay. So here we go. If I rated myself, you know, a 6.5, a 65%, a D, then I'm going to look through every single one of these
and I'm going to ask myself, how can I raise my career, my relationships, my intellectual,
my physical, my emotional, and my spiritual self by just one point? How can I get to a 7.5
so that I go from a D to a C in the next 30 days. What is it that I need to do? Okay. So
here's what we're going to do. And this is where if you need to pause me, I recommend pausing me.
If you're driving, probably not the best time to do this, but you can think of this in your head.
And what I want you to do is this. I want you to take your pen and paper. I want you to get
your brain. I want you to think through this. Okay. In my career, what would I need to do to
raise it from a, let's say you put six, six to a seven in the next 30 days. What would I need to do to raise it from a, let's say you put six,
six to a seven in the next 30 days? What do I need to do to make more money in the next 30 days?
What do I need to do to get myself in line for the next promotion in the next 30 days? What do
I need to do to hit that next commission plan in the next 30 days? What do I need to do to
hire my next employee in the next 30 days? What do I need to do to hire my next employee in the next 30 days? What do I need to do to make my side hustle better or to start my side hustle next 30 days? What is it
that I need to do to move my career up one point in the next 30 days? Write down all of your answers.
Once again, you can pause me if you need to. If you're driving, if you're just able to listen to
me, think of it consciously. What do you need to do to improve your career by just one point? Whatever your career looks like, all of the ways that you make money and
get money into bank account, what do you need to do to raise it by one point in the next 30 days?
Write all the answers down. Think of all the answers in your head. Okay. Relationships. Okay.
If I'm looking at my relationships, what do I need to do to raise my relationships by one point in the next 30 days?
My romantic relationships, my friendships, my family, my relationship with my children,
my relationship with my parents, my relationship with my brothers and sisters.
What do I need to do to improve the relationships that I have in my life by one point in the
next 30 days?
Think of all of the answers, write all of those answers
down. Okay, now we move on to intellectual. What do I need to do to improve the amount of intellectual
capacity that I have in the next three days, the intellectual stimulation that I have next three
days? What do I need? Do I need to read more? Do I need to learn more? Do I need to do more courses?
Do I need to sign up in school? What do I need to do to raise this by just one point in the next 30 days?
Okay.
Now, if I look at my physical body, what can I do to raise my physical body, the points
that I give myself one point over the next 30 days?
Do I need to work out more?
Do I need to stop eating meat?
Do I need to stop eating sugar?
Do I need to stop having too much caffeine? Do I need to stop eating meat? Do I need to stop eating sugar? Do I need to stop having too much caffeine?
Do I need to get more sleep?
Do I need to go to bed earlier so I can get up earlier?
Do I need to drink a gallon of water every single day?
Do I need to meditate more?
What do I need to do to raise my physical body by one point over the next 30 days?
Write down all of the answers of ways that you can improve.
Okay, the next one is emotional.
What do I need to do to raise my emotional, emotional capacity of feelings that I have in
my body over one point over the next 30 days? If I feel too much stress or worry or anxiety or
sadness, what is causing all of that? And what can I do to release some of that? Not all of it
because you're not going to change your life in just the next 30 days. But what can I do to release some of that? Not all of it because you're not going to change your life in just the next 30 days.
But what can I do to release some of that in the next 30 days so I can feel more happiness and joy and peace and gratitude?
What do you need to do to feel more happiness and joy and peace and gratitude and love over
the next 30 days?
Write down all of the answers you can come up with.
And then last but not least, spiritual.
What do you need to do to raise your spiritual over the next 30 days?
Do you need to go to church more?
Do you need to meditate more?
Do you need to do more yoga?
Do you need to just simply sit in quiet more?
What do you need to do to raise your spirituality that you rated yourself by one point over
the next 30 days?
And now what you should have is you literally have a plan in all of the six most important
categories of your life, all of the plates that you're spinning.
You literally have on a piece of paper right now, everything that you need to improve.
So what do you do now?
You sit down with yourself and you do, you should do this every single Sunday.
I recommend every single Sunday and every single month you should do this.
And what you do is you look back
and you look forward. So you look back over how the past week went and then you look forward over
the next week and you said, okay, you know, if I want to improve my relationships, if that's one
of my things I really want to do and make sure I improve it the next week, the next month,
what do I need to do? Okay. I need to make sure that I finish work on time so that I can take
my spouse out to dinner twice a week. Maybe I need to make sure that I finish work on time so that I can take my spouse out to dinner twice a week.
Maybe I need to make sure that I wake up earlier so that I can get myself ready so that I can take
the kids to school. Maybe I'll turn my business off by 5.30 and immediately just put my phone
away and start spending time with my kids. And you have all of these plans. Now you just look
at your schedule over the next week and you start placing these plans into your schedule. It's really not that hard. The problem is that most
people don't plan their life out like this the same way that they would plan out a business,
right? Planning your life out, as weird as it sounds, is the same way of planning your business
out, like the same way that you wouldn't start a business without a business plan, right? You would
have at least a plan of what your business is going to do. Why would you not have a life plan
and a weekly plan and a monthly plan of what you're trying to do? So now that you have this
piece of paper with all of the information of what it is that you need to do over the next 30 days,
I'm going to look at this and then I'm going to look at my schedule. So on the left, I'm going to
have my plan. On the right, I'm going to have my schedule. I'm going to say, how can I make sure
that I spend time with my kids this week? Okay. And I write all the different
places I can do that. Okay. How can I make sure that I improve my career and get more sales in
my company? Okay. And I write down, oh, I could have a conference call with my sales team right
here. Okay. You can do whatever it is that you need to do. How can I make sure that I, you know,
improve my intellectual? I need to read more. I need to read at least five pages a day. Okay.
Where would I do that? I would probably do that in the morning. That's where I would do.
Okay. Let me make sure that I put that in my morning routine. I'm going to read five pages a
day. Okay. Okay. Let me go through. Let's see physical. Okay. You know what? I need to make
sure my sleep is a little bit better. So I'm going to make sure that I put in my schedule right here.
I'm going to be turned off all electronics, all TV, and I'm going to start reading by nine o'clock
so that I hopefully get to bed by 10. Okay. Boom. Put that in my schedule. All right. So now we got emotional. Okay. How can
I make sure that I bring more joy and peace and gratitude? You know what? I'm just going to sit
down every single morning, first thing in the morning after I brush my teeth, I'm going to just
sit there and I'm going to, you know, just feel more gratitude in my life. Feel more joy. Think
of all of the things I could be grateful for.
Think of everything that I've been blessed with in my entire life.
And I'm going to make sure I put that in my schedule.
I'm going to make sure I get that down.
And last, spiritual.
You know what?
I haven't been meditating near as much as I want to.
Okay, I'm going to make sure that I meditate every single morning right before I start
my reading because my reading is my schedule.
And now what I have is I have my plan to make my life better over the next 30 days
on a sheet of paper, everything that I need to do to improve it.
And then I've got my actual schedule where I take my plan and put it inside of my schedule.
All I need to do is just execute on it.
How do I execute on it?
I look at my schedule and my plan for five minutes every single morning
just to make sure that I'm keeping myself on track. That's it. I just look at my schedule and my plan for five minutes every single morning just to make sure that I'm keeping myself on track.
That's it.
I just look at it.
It's like if you were a director of sales, you wouldn't just look at the sales once a
month.
You're going to look at them daily and see how the team is doing, right?
Why don't you look at yourself daily and see how you are doing?
It's really not that hard.
All you have to do is just realize, don't get emotional about where you currently are.
You've just got to make a date with yourself every single Sunday to see how you can take
your plan and put it into your schedule.
And then every single morning, you take five minutes and look at your plan and look at
your schedule again and say, how can I bring as much of this plan into my day today?
And that's it.
It's super simple.
So it's CRIPEs, career, relationship, intellectual, physical, emotional, and spiritual.
Do this every single day.
And I challenge you not to be a better person in every aspect of your life over the next
30 days.
How can I challenge you?
Because I've done this hundreds, if not thousands of times with clients, and I've seen their
lives improve.
If their lives can improve, your life can improve as well.
So that's what I got for you
for today's episode. If you love this episode, please share it with someone that you know and
