wanting to improve, wanting to get better, this might be the right thing for you.
So sending me an email doesn't require you to do anything except for, you know,
get an email back from me and look at the information and see if it's right for you.
So if you're kind of curious about it, you want to learn more about it and you want to learn more about it before the prices go up in 2019, send me an email
rob at robdial.com. Speaking of 2019, that's what we're going to be talking about today. I did a
really long lesson today with my mindset university. It was actually over an hour long and we went over
our 2019 goals. Now, obviously I can't share all of the secrets that I share inside of that because
that's a private paying group coaching membership that people are in there for. I'm not going to
give you all the secrets, but I will let you in a little bit on what we did. And I'll give you a
little bit of an idea of how we went through our goals. So I'm going to let you in on how to plan
your New Year's resolutions. A lot of people said this was the most, actually everybody said this is
the most in-depth they've ever gone on their New Year's resolutions and how to hit your New Year's resolutions. A lot of people said this was the most, actually, everybody said this is the most in-depth they've ever gone on their New Year's resolutions
and how to hit their goals. And so there's three points that I said to setting a goal.
There's three points to setting your New Year's resolutions. Number one is to dream. Number two
is clarity. And number three is plan. Now, what exactly does that mean? Number one, dream. If
you're going to be setting goals,
if you're going to be sitting down with a pen and paper
and actually writing down your goals,
you have to not let there be any restrictions,
no limitations, no governor on your dream.
So what I mean by a governor,
if you ever have been in a Ferrari,
or let's just use a Ferrari as an example,
a Ferrari might be able to go 220 miles an hour,
but they put something on it called a governor. A governor will stop able to go 220 miles an hour, but they put something on it called
a governor. A governor will stop it at like 180, 185 so that it can't go past there. That's how a
lot of us live our lives. Because of our past, we have a governor on the way that we think and dream
and the way that we set our goals. And we sell ourselves short because we actually don't set the
goals and dream as high as we actually could, which means we don't hit the
goals in our dreams as high as we possibly could. If we don't set our goals high enough, we're not
going to hit those high goals. So the first part, when I say dream clarity plan, dream, if you're
going to sit down with a pen and paper and go through this process that I'm about to go through with you, you have to allow yourself legitimately to act like you're
a kid again.
Like there's no limitations that anything is possible to sit down and plan and say,
you know what?
I want to make half a million dollars next year.
Some of you are like, oh God, I would love that.
But something inside of me just goes, oh, I don't know.
And my stomach cramps up, right?
If that's what you want, that's what you want. If you want to buy a house or do this or
travel to all of these places or quit your job and start your own job, you have to be able to
take the governor off, to take the limitations off. And that's step number one to all of these
is you have to sit down with your pen and paper. As we go through these categories of hitting your
goals, then you have to ask yourself the question, what do I really want? If there were no limitations,
if I was, you know, if I had no limitations, if I didn't hold myself back, if I put 120%
into everything that I did over the next year, what could my life look like? So that's step number
one. Step number two is clarity. You have to get extremely,
this is what drives me crazy about people's goals, is they're not clear on what their goal is. They
say, I want to lose weight, for instance. Well, okay, you want to lose weight. If you lose one
pound over the next year, you lost weight, you hit your goal, congratulations. But I'm sure
if you want to lose weight, you don't want to just lose one pound. So when I say get clear on what your goal is, what I mean is what do you want to weigh?
How much do you want to lose?
What do you want your body fat percentage to be at?
What do you want your muscle mass to be at?
Hell, go and print a picture of who you feel has the most perfect body, the body that you
want, and put that on your wall in your closet, Snow and Caesar, or put it on your mirror
in your bathroom so you see it every single day. That's clarity on your goals. Don't just say, I want to make more money. If you
make $1 more this year, you've made more money. Congratulations. But that's not what you want.
You could say, I want to make $50,000 more this year. I want to make $100,000 more this year.
I want to make $500,000 this year. What's the number of how much money you want to make?
That's what you need to figure out. And you need to get the exact number down if that's
what you're trying to do. So the first part is to dream without limitations. The second part
is to get extremely, extremely clear. And the third part is to plan. And what I did was I gave,
and I won't be able to go through this with you guys. I'll be able to go through all the
categories with you, but I'm not going to give you how to plan out your goals like I did with them because
obviously they're in my paid membership and obviously they're getting much, much more for me,
but I gave them the six steps to hitting their goals and how to actually plan out your goals
to make sure that you hit them. But what I will go through with you today are the, I think they're
10 categories, the 10 categories that we went through that we wanted to plan out.
So what I did was I gave each of them, everybody in the group, I said, okay, here's the category we're going to go over. This is what it looks like. Go for it. And I gave them 90 seconds and
they put down as many goals as they possibly could. And the average person got to about 50
goals all the way up to, I think the most that we got was 86 goals for the year.
That's more than most people ever get for their entire life.
And so that's what we talked about. So I'm going to go over the 10 categories with you. If you have
a pen and paper, these are definitely things you're going to want to jot down the 10 categories
that you want to focus on when planning your New Year's resolutions. The first one, number one,
I always like to start with this one because it's fun for people is money. How much money do you
want to make for 2018? How much do you want to, I'm sorry, 2019, how much do you want to save? How many streams of income do you want? How much do you want to
donate? That's the first thing that I want you to think about. Money is category number one.
Number two is career. What do you want your career to be in 2019? Do you want to raise?
Do you want to get a promotion? Do you want to quit your job and get a new job? Do you want to
quit your job and start your own business? Do you want to start your own business and keep your job? What do you want your career to look
like in 2019? The third one is health. What do you want your health to look like? What do you
want your diet to look like? How often do you want to work out? What do you want your muscle mass to
be at? What do you want your body fat to be at? What do you want your weight to be at? Do you
want to do more yoga? What is it? That's the third one. The fourth one is your
personal development and intellectual goals. So do you want to go to some conferences? Do you want
to join some coaching programs? Do you want to hire a mentor? Do you want to finish a certain
amount of books? Do you want to read a book a month? What are your goals for intellectual and
personal development? The one thing that I tell people that I, that that's crazy that I think
that people don't do is they budget out their money for, you know, how much money they're
spending on rent, how much they're spending on electricity, how much they're spending on their
car, their phone, their car insurance, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, food,
all of these things. They budget all those out, but they don't budget out the one really important
thing they should.
How much per month are you going to spend on your personal development? What is your budget? Have you ever thought about that? Think about that for a second. Have you ever thought about how much you
want to spend per month on your own personal development? That's a big thing. I would put
that inside of your personal development in intellectual category number four.
Number five, the fifth category is your character. What type
of person do you want to be? What are the perfect traits that you want to develop in yourself?
What are traits that you don't have that you want to develop? What are traits that you do have that
you want to develop deeper? Do you want to be kinder? Do you want to be more humble? Do you
want to spend more time with people? Do you want to judge less? Do you want to be more loving?
Do you want to be more emotional? Do you want to be less emotional? Do you want to allow time for
anyone? Do you want to smile more? Do you want to just give emotional? Do you want to be less emotional? Do you want to allow time for anyone?
Do you want to smile more?
Do you want to just give time with people that you're sitting on a bench with?
What is it?
What is your character look like? That's category number five.
Number six is your adventure.
Do you want to travel somewhere?
Do you want to learn a new hobby?
Do you want to go skydiving?
Do you want to start doing things you've never done before?
Six is the adventure category of your personal, I'm sorry, of your New Year's resolutions.
Seven is materialistic. What the hell do you want to buy for 2019? Do you want to buy a Rolex? Do
you want to buy a new car? Do you want to buy a new house? What is it that you want to buy? It's
okay to want new things. Do you want a new wardrobe? It's okay to want new things. I used
to think, oh yeah, I don't need to get those things because I don't need to spend money
because if I'm spending money, that's money that could have been spent by somebody else. That's the wrong way
to think about it. The more prosperous that you are, the more prosperous the people around you
will be, and the more that you will be able to donate to people later on down the road if you
want to. So materialistic things are on there. We always want to buy. I'm not a big spender on
anything, but there's a couple of things where I'm like, no, you know what? I would like an
investment property. I would like another watch. I would like this. I would
like this. It's okay to want things. Number eight is relationships. Now this is not your
romantic relationships. That's number nine. Number eight is your relationships, your friendships,
your networking, the people that you spend time with, your family. Do you want to go home more
often? Do you want to FaceTime with family? Do you want to have a conversation with mom every week?
What is it that you want your relationships to be like?
Number nine is romantic relationships or relationship.
You know, I'm not one to judge.
You could be in a relationship.
You could be in relationships.
Some things work for different people.
I don't know.
But do you want to go on a weekly date night?
Do you want to find that person?
Do you want to get married?
Do you want to get divorced?
Do you want to break up with that person? What is it that you want for your
romantic relationships? Put those goals down. That's number nine. And number 10 is spiritual.
Do you want to meditate more? Do you want to go to yoga more? Do you want to go to church more?
It's spiritual is not the same as religious, but religion can be inside of spiritual. So do you
want to deepen your, um, do you want to deepen your meditation?
Do you want to be okay in silence more being okay, being alone, all of those things. So those are the
10 categories that you want to go through. I went through them quickly with you guys,
because I wanted to make it a short episode, but those are the 10 categories that you want to go
through. So number one, the first thing you want to do is you want to dream with no limitations.
Number two is you want to get extremely clear on what your goals are. And number three is you want to plan out
your goals. So the 10 categories are money. Number one, number two, career, number three,
health, number four, personal development and intellectual goals. Number, uh, hold on.
Number five is character. Number six is adventure. Number seven is materialistic. Number eight is
relationships. Number nine is romance. And number number 10 is spiritual go through that and give yourself at least three
to five minutes for every single category and you'll be so surprised how many goals you come
up with and you'll go man 2019 might be the best year of my life and what you do is you just remind
yourself of those goals every single day so i appreciate you guys for being on this ride.
