algorithm so that more people can listen to the show. So today what I'm going to talk about though,
I'm going to hope that I can help you change your verbiage or the way you say things.
help you change your verbiage or the way you say things. I hear this a lot. I hear the phrase,
I don't have time, right? I don't have time. I'm sure at one point in time in your life,
you've said that. I don't have time. I say it sometimes. I don't have time. I'm so busy. I just don't have time to do it. I want to do it. I just don't have time. Saying that you don't have
time is the biggest cop-out that I can think of. And once again, guys, I'm also talking to myself here. I say I don't have time
sometimes. You say you don't have time sometimes. But saying that you don't have time is the biggest
cop-out that I could possibly think of. I get a lot of emails saying stuff like, Rob, I want to
be successful. I want to grow personally. But it's so hard. I just don't have the time. I have kids. I have a spouse. My kids have soccer. I have a family.
I have a job. I have multiple jobs. I have all of these things that I'm doing. I want to grow
personally. I want to be successful. I want to start my own business. I just don't have time.
That's BS. I'm telling you right now. I want to do something this week, but this happened and
this happened and this happened. Guess what? Every person, every billionaire and every bum
gets 24 hours in their day. It's not that one of them has less work. It's not that one of them has
less problems. It's not that one of them has less struggles or less things that come up in the
middle of their day or things that knock them off course. It's that they make things that matter a priority. Now you can use
anything for an example here, but I'm going to use personal growth, right? Just because that's
what business I'm in, right? When a plane is going down, who do you give oxygen to first?
Yourself. Why? Because if you give oxygen to yourself first,
you can then help others. So you can't say I don't have time. What you say is I am not making it a
priority. It's not a priority for me, right? So if personal growth is one of them, it's not that,
oh, Rob, I don't have time to listen to the podcast or don't have time to journal or to meditate or to watch
videos or any of those things. It's not that I don't have time. It's that I don't make it a
priority because we all know there's things that we do in our days that are stupid, that do nothing
for us, but we still do them, right? We still waste our time doing them. We give those a priority
over other things like personal growth or whatever it might be. Now, going back to personal growth, can you agree that the better
person you are, the more you grow, the better you become, then the better everyone else's lives
around you are, the better that your kid's life will be, your spouse, your significant other,
your parents, your brothers, your sisters. But so many people put other people first and forget about themselves.
So it's never that I don't have time for personal growth. It's that I don't make personal growth
the priority. It's not that I don't have time for this. It's that this is not a priority to me.
is not a priority to me. I don't have time or I run out of time is complete crap. We all know that.
It's not that you don't have time. It's that it's not a priority. If something is important to you, you will make it a priority. You will make time. So let's, you know, just because I'm on this thing
of, and this, once again, personal growth could be used, anything could be used in place of personal growth, growing personally. I understand
that the podcast is very easily consumed while driving. If someone's in my group coaching,
it's very easily consumed. You know, you could put it up, you could pull a video up on your phone,
you could do it while driving. Driving a car, riding in the metro, on a plane, whatever it is. But if you do that, you're not going to be giving it 100%
attention that it needs, right? I don't know what that word was, right? Correct and right,
put together in one word. Did I just make up a new word? Right? I did. So, crikey.
But I understand you might be traveling. You might be driving your car
and listening to my voice and wanting to grow in this. This will help you for sure.
But is it 100% of the attention that it deserves? If you're listening to an audio book,
right? I love to use the example. A lot of people listen to audio books because,
you know, they say a lot of, you know, other, other excuses. It's hard for me to read. I don't
like reading as much. I travel a lot. It's hard for me to do this, right? So they're like, oh,
I listen to a lot of audiobooks. You're not going to be giving it 100% of attention. What's the best
way to consume an audiobook? To sit there with a pen and paper and a journal and write down the
things that connect with you, push pause, and then journal about what you just wrote about in order
to make real legitimate changes. Are you doing that while driving your car? No, probably not. So how do
you make time to grow personally? Well, the best way is to wake your freaking self up earlier than
you need to be up 30 minutes or an hour before you need to. And you dedicate that time to you.
You need you time. The better you become, the better everyone
else becomes. And I understand parents, you give so much of yourself to the people around you.
And it's selfless to do that. I get it. That's awesome. But you have to think about if you spend
five years giving all of yourself to these other people, in five years, you're still the same person giving to those people. So guess what? That means you
are not going to be giving them better, the better version of yourself, right? If you wake up 30
minutes, an hour before, and you work on yourself every single morning, let's say you're a mother,
right? Right now, you're a mother doing
whatever it is that you're trying to do. But if you spend 30 minutes or an hour on yourself every
single morning, five years from now, you're going to be a much, much better mother, a much, much
better person. And guess what that does to your children? Guess what that does to your spouse,
your significant other, to everyone around you? It makes them exponentially better because you are better.
So it's not that you don't have time for something. Once again, I'm using personal
growth as an example. It's not that you don't have time for personal growth. It's that it's not
a priority. You're not giving it the attention that it needs and that it deserves.
So you have to think about it that way. You might not be able to squeeze
more time out of your day, which we can all agree. Most of us, a lot of the time we're being
busy and not productive. That's why people that are super successful are the most productive is
because they're not wasting their time with busy work, with the admin crap or all of those things,
the things that they don't want to do. But let's just take a step back and just say,
maybe you are productive your entire day. There is no busy work, right? You're not being busy.
You're being productive. Let's just use that as an example. You might not be able to squeeze more
time out of your day, but you might be able to get up a little bit earlier and make your day a
little bit longer. And the reason why I recommend waking up earlier, it's not that, oh man, I hate
waking up. No, you just don't give a crap to get up and make it a priority to change your life, right? That's if we're just
being completely honest because you're the only one that's in control of your personal growth.
It's not that you don't have enough time. It's that you're not giving it the priority,
right? And the reason why I recommend that you wake up early is because if you wake up early
and grow, you're now taking that growth from the... If you wake up in the morning and you
grow yourself personally, you're now taking that growth with you throughout the rest of the day.
And so don't use the phrase, I don't have time. Because what you should think about is I just am
not making it a priority. So if you like this episode, please do me a favor. Please share this
