Welcome to the Mindset and Motivation Podcast, one of the top motivational podcasts in the
world.
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we come out with a short, to the point, no BS episode
to help make massive changes in your mind and transform you from who you are now to
who you want to be.
My name is Rob Dial, and the podcast starts now.
Welcome to today's episode. If you have not yet done so, hit that subscribe button so that you
never miss another episode. And I'm only going to announce this a couple more times because I am going to get the two spots filled up for my one-on-one coaching.
But if you have a level of success that you're already at, you're not starting off,
you've been doing the same thing for a while, you make good money, you've had some success,
whether you work for a company or you have your own company, but you want to take it to the next
level, you feel like you've hit a plateau. You've been making the same amount.
You feel like you've been growing the same amount.
You've been stuck at this place for a long time
and you just feel like you're stuck in a comfort zone,
but it's not where you want to die.
You see greater things in your future,
but you just don't know how to get past your limiting beliefs
or your negative self-talk
or you don't know your
blind spots. You're not sure why you're not taking it to the next level. If you're in that situation,
I have two spots open for my one-on-one coaching. That would be you and I speaking on the phone,
only you and I speaking on the phone every single week to help you take it to the next level.
So if you're interested in it, this is a very, very rare occasion. If you're on the fence, like you're like, oh man, I want to do it, but I don't know
if I'm ready yet. I don't know if I'm ready for the accountability. I don't know if I'm ready to
really be pushed to my goals. Well, that's something for you to figure out. But what I
will tell you is I'll hold you accountable. I pushed your goal. I will help you expand to
places you've never thought possible. The mind is like a plastic bag. When it is
expanded, it will never go back to the same size. That is my job. So if you're interested
in joining me on one-on-one coaching and you want to fill out the application, send me an email,
rob at robdial.com. Once again, rob at robdial.com. I'll send you all the information to fill it out
and you can see if it is right for you. If I'm
right for you, if you're right for me, and if it is, we can talk more about it. So send me an email
rob at robdial.com if you're interested in joining my one-on-one coaching. Okay, what we're going to
be talking about today is does something serve you? And what do I mean by does something serve
you? I mean like a habit or a pattern or a relationship
or a friendship or just a person. Does it serve you? And I get a lot of emails and I wanted to
have this come out because especially around holidays or certain days where you come around
family and a lot of people, I get a lot of emails that say, you know, I know that your top five
people that you hang out with the most. I know those people are the ones that you're going to be the most like, but what do you do
when you have your family around? And I'm going to cover a couple of different things with you
guys. The first thing is this. I'm not saying get rid of your family. I'm not saying get rid of your
friends or any of those things, because when you have your top five, the five people that you spend
the most time with, your net worth is your net worth. You
will most likely be worth the same amount of money as somebody else that you hang out with the most,
the top five people. As they say, if you hang out with five alcoholics, there's a pretty good chance
you will be the sixth. If you hang out with five millionaires more than anybody else, there's a
pretty good chance that you will also be the sixth. The people that you hang out with, you are more than likely to be like, and you're more than
likely to grow up to be exactly the same and in the same income bracket and in the same happiness
bracket and all of those things. So when I say, does it serve you? What I mean by this is when
you look at your relationships, whether it's a friend, whether it's a relationship with someone
that you're close with, maybe it's a family member, maybe it's a significant other. Does it serve you? And what I mean by that is, are you getting
more positive out of it than negative? Is that relationship pushing you to grow, to become a
better person, to live out a better life, to be better every single day? And if it's not serving
you and it's actually impacting you negatively, what you need to do is either completely get rid of that relationship
or spend a whole lot less time with those people. And the reason why I'm bringing this up
is because like I said, when you hang out with family members or anytime around the holidays,
when they're around more, you get more time with these people and they can affect, people that you hang out with can positively or negatively affect your mindset all day, every day when you're hanging out
with them and even when you're away from them as well, just by the things as I say, the
words that they use.
And so you have to ask yourself when you're thinking about relationships with people is,
is this serving me?
Is this relationship serving me right now?
Is it pushing me to become
better or is it actually holding me back in some sort of way? And you have to kind of think of it
that way. And the ones that are holding you back, you need to either completely get rid of those
relationships or you need to spend a whole lot less time with them. That also being said, there's
habits or patterns that you have. And if you can get anything from this, it's to become more self-aware of the habits and patterns that you have or the things that you do or the
times that you come home and do stuff after work. The thing that I always used to tell my coaching
clients was to think of it this way. Whenever you're thinking about something that you're doing,
if you're catching yourself in the moment, ask yourself this right now,
is what I'm doing right now getting me closer to or further from
my goals? Is what I'm doing right now getting me closer to or further from my goals? And if it's
getting you closer to your goals, keep doing it. Whether that goal is happiness or success or money
or progressing humans, whatever it is, is it getting you closer to your goal? If it is,
keep doing it. Find more time for it. If it's not getting you closer to your goals and it's
getting you further away from your goals, immediately stop it right now and don't do it.
That's the way that I think about it. Immediately stop it. And so what you have to ask yourself is,
is this serving me? Is this addiction that I have serving me? Is this relationship that I have serving me? Is this addiction that I have serving me? Is this relationship that I have serving me?
Is this habit that I have serving me?
Is this pattern that I have serving me?
And if it is, you continue to do it and actually find more time for it.
And if it's not, stop it immediately and find something else to do.
It is that simple.
And that's why the power of clarity is so important.
You need to be clear on exactly what it is that you want.
In my group
coaching, we're going to start training and going over the next couple months of how to set up
your goals, your life plan, and your goal for the next year or so. And in order to do that,
you need to become extremely clear on what it is that you want. And when you're clear on what it
is that you want, you can find that clarity, then it's very easy to go, is this serving me or not?
Is this getting me closer to or further from my goals? And if it's very easy to go, is this serving me or not? Is this getting me closer to
or further from my goals? And if it's getting you closer to, continue doing it. If it's getting
further away from your goals, stop it immediately. And so what I want you to take from this is those
two things. Number one, you ask yourself, is this serving me? Is this habit serving me?
Is this pattern serving me? Is this thing that I'm doing right now, is it serving me?
Is this relationship, whether it's with a cousin or uncle or whatever it might be, sometimes people have really negative
relationships with their parents. And maybe you just spend less time because they are set in their
ways and you are going towards a different path. That's not a bad thing sometimes. That's not a bad
thing because sometimes you're going on a different path than they are. And they're so in their path and it's so ingrained in them that it might be that they're just,
they have negative tendencies, negative patterns.
Doesn't mean that you just completely get them out of your life, but it does mean that
you can spend less time with them and still love them in the time that you are spending
time with them.
And so you ask yourself, is this serving me, these things?
And the second thing you ask yourself after you become extremely clear on what you want.
And like I said, this is something that we're going over as you're in the group coaching
is life planning, figuring out the next year, all of these things.
You ask yourself now that you know, and you're very clear on exactly what your life plan
is, exactly what your next year is going to look like.
What you ask yourself is, is what I'm doing right now getting me closer to or
further from my goals? And you ask yourself that 10, 20, 30 times a day, you're going to stop
habits and patterns dead in their tracks that are not serving you and not getting you closer
to your goals. And what you're going to do is you're going to start doing the things that you
need to do in order to become the person that you want to become in order to have the success that you want to have.
So with that, once again,
if there's anything I can do for you, let me know.
But with that, I'm gonna leave you the same way
I leave you every single episode.
