One of the steps to give you an idea of what I talk about.
Starting point is 00:02:07 And one of the steps of mindset mastery, the very first one that I go over is what I want to go over with you guys. And I want you to think about this. What's the difference between a successful person and an unsuccessful person? The main difference between a successful person and an unsuccessful person is what goes on between their ears. It's the habits and the patterns that they've created in their minds and the story that they've been telling themselves about that as well. And so for our lives, I want you to realize your life,
Starting point is 00:02:39 my life, everyone's life is not the way that it is because of your past. Your life is not the way that it is because of your past. Your life is not the way that it is because of your past. You may think that it is, but that is complete crap. Your life is not the way that it is because of your past. Your life is the way that it is because of the story that you are telling yourself in your head over and over and over and over again about your past. That is the reason why your life is the way that it is. That is the reason why you're either happy with where you are or you're not happy with where you are. And I want you to realize this. You are the way that you are because of the story you keep telling yourself. It's the paradigm that's in your head. And where you are is where you are because that is the absolute minimum
Starting point is 00:03:26 of what you will tolerate. You will not tolerate anything less than that. And as far as your story goes, you may have heard me say this before, but it's like the salt story. If you're sitting at the dinner table and your father says, you know, hey, go get the salt.
Starting point is 00:03:39 And you're just about to start eating, you're a little kid and you're like, oh, I don't want to get the salt. I want to, all I want to do is eat my food. I'm so freaking hungry. And then you go, oh, I don't want to get the salt. I want to, all I want to do is eat my food. I'm so freaking hungry. And then you go, well, I don't know where the salt is. And your dad goes, go get the salt. And you're like, dad, I don't know where the salt is. Your dad says, listen, go get the salt. And you're like, fine. Jeez. All right. Walking towards the, to go get the salt. And in your head, you're saying,
Starting point is 00:04:01 you know, over and over to your head and you're over and over again to yourself in your head. You're saying, I don't know where the salt is. I don't know where the salt is. I don't know where the salt is. I don't know where the salt is. I don't know where the salt is. This is a story you're telling yourself. You open up the pantry and you're looking, you're like, I don't know where the salt is. I don't know where the salt is. I don't see the salt anywhere. The salt is not in here. You turn to your dad. You're like, the salt's not in here. Your dad says, it's right there. I know it's in there. You're looking, you're like, I don't know where the salt is. I don't know where the salt is. Nope. Don't see it anywhere. And your dad goes, it's right there on the second shelf. You look, nope, don't see it anywhere. Your dad gets up
Starting point is 00:04:31 and picks it up and it's right in front of you. The salt was right in front of your face. Now, was it the salt wasn't there? No. It was that your mind, the story you were telling yourself would not allow you to see the salt. And I want you to realize the past, your past, the story that you're telling yourself, you're not allowing yourself to see the positives that could come from it. You're not allowing yourself to see the opportunities that are actually there because you're telling yourself a story that is incorrect in your head. You're telling yourself a story that is incorrect about what's happening to you right now. You're not seeing the opportunities because your eyes are not able to see the opportunities, just like your eyes are not able to see the salt because of the story that
Starting point is 00:05:15 you're telling yourself in your head. It's not that the eyes were never able to see it or they cannot see it. It's that the mind would not allow them to see it. So how is this happening in your life? How are you lying to yourself? How are you not taking control of your mind? How are you lying to yourself about something that's happened in your past? You know, there was a very famous person that said, if you tell a lie big enough, strong enough, and long enough, sooner or later, people will start to believe you. And that person was Hitler. He said, if you tell a lie big enough, strong enough, and long enough, soon enough, people will start to believe you. Some of you guys are the Hitler of your own mind. You've been telling yourself a big
Starting point is 00:05:55 lie for a long time, really strongly. And you've been saying it for a really long time. And sooner or later, if you don't already believe yourself, you're going to start to believe yourself. I want you to realize this. The only thing keeping you back from what you want in your life is you. You are holding yourself back. You are holding yourself back. You're holding your business back. You're holding your bank account back.
Starting point is 00:06:20 You're holding your relationships back. You're holding your family back. You're holding everything back. So mastering your mind should be the number one thing for you to do. Because if you can master your mind, you can pretty much do anything that you want to. If you think about some of the most successful people, not just the richest people, but the people who are the best athletes or the people who do the most for the world, any of those types of people are the people who really seem to have it figured out. Ask yourself, do you have it figured out? And if you don't, well, then we need
Starting point is 00:06:51 to kind of dive in and start thinking about your past or think about your mindset and start thinking about all of these different things because that's really what is the most important. Your outside world cannot change until your inside world changes first. And I'm not a big fan of positive thinking and being like, Hey, just think positive. I'm not the person that says, you know, I don't walk over to my garden and say, there's no weeds. There's no weeds. There's no weeds. When I clearly see weeds, I'm not that type of person. Not like I sometimes hate the world, the word motivational speaker, because it sounds like I'm just a person that's like, Hey, you pity dodah, go do it. You can do it. You can conquer the world. You can do anything
Starting point is 00:07:28 that you want. But I want you to realize that most people never take control of their internal world. They try to work on the external world. And I'm going to talk next episode about meditation and how to meditate and why it's so important. But you have to realize that the external world is not as important as the internal world. Your external world, we all know people who have tried to master. They have this great external world. They've mastered. It seems like they've mastered everything. They made a lot of money. They've been successful in all these things, but their life is in shambles and they're miserable because they haven't mastered their internal world. That's the one that you have to master first.
Starting point is 00:08:08 And I want you to realize that our minds are not designed to make us happy. Our designs are more than anything else. It's a 2 million year old device. It is designed to keep us safe. And that's it. So if we can learn to master it and not let it master us, we can then be successful. But you have to realize the first step to mindset mastery. I think there's four or five more steps to mastering your mind, but I want to dive into just the first one so you can get a little bit of a taste of what the webinar is going to be like tomorrow night. You are in control of your mind and you have to take control of your mind. Here's what you have to realize. Most people, they try to work harder. They try to do better. They try to be more productive. They try to do all the things right. They try to put more time into the business and more time in
Starting point is 00:09:07 the business. And then they start thinking, how can I change my business? How can I change this? How can I do this better? How can I get better advertising? How can I do all of these things? Success guys is only 20% mechanics. All of those things, everything in your day to day, everything that you do is only 20% of your success. The rest of the 80% of success is psychology. What's going on between your ears, why you need to match your mindset. 80% of success is psychology. And 8% of being successful in making money or in the stock market or in business or in your family or in your relationships or in anything that happens in your life, 80% of the success in all of those things is your psychology. Only 20% is the mechanics of what you're actually doing. Because if you have the psychology down,
Starting point is 00:09:58 you can then make the right steps and view things the right way objectively, not subjectively. You don't put the emotion into it. You look at it from an outsider's perspective and go, hmm, before I get emotional about this, let me look at an outsider's perspective. What is really going on here? That is how you be successful at anything that you do. You put that type of psychology into it. The chokehold that you're putting on your business and your life is only you. The chokehold for growth in your business, in your life, in your relationships, in your money, in your family, everything, the chokehold is always you. But you can release that chokehold by deciding that you want to take control of your mind. Decide this. When you take control, this is taking control of your mind. So step one is take control of your mind. Decide this. When you take control, this is taking control of your
Starting point is 00:10:47 mind. So step one is take control. What you say is this is the life that I want. And you know, in clear detail, this is exactly the life that I want. And you say this, this is how it's going to be. And anything less than this is unacceptable. I will not accept anything less than this. That is how you take control. I will not accept anything less than my family being this way, with anything less than my relationships being this way, anything less than my business being this way. I will not accept anything less than X amount of dollars in my bank account
Starting point is 00:11:18 and X amount of dollars coming in every single year. I decide that. You decide that. Take control. And you've heard me say it a million times if you've ever listened to my episodes. You're in control of everything that happens. You're the captain of your own ship. Whether you decide to take the controls and use the actual steering wheel or whether you decide to just go, well, screw it. Let's see where the winds take me. You're the one that's in control, but you have to decide to actually jump up
Starting point is 00:11:46 and take hold of the steering wheel. So you have to realize that. You're in control. When you decide that this is how it's going to be and I will not accept anything less, that's when your mindset starts to change. That is when your world starts to change. That's when everything in your world starts to change.
Starting point is 00:12:05 You start to get happier. You start to have better relationships. Your family life is better. Your business is better. Your bank account looks freaking awesome compared to where they used to. But first, what you have to do is take control and say, you know what?
Starting point is 00:12:16 This thing in between my ears, it's a part of me. I can take control of this. Just like if I want to move my hand and squeeze something or snap, I can do it because this. Just like if I want to move my hand and squeeze something or snap, I can do it because it's part of me and I'm in control of it. My mind is part of me as well. I just have to learn how to take control.
