oh my gosh, I didn't know because it'll be too late. You only have a few more days. So join us.
I would love to see you in there. And let's dive
into today's podcast. Today's podcast is about saying yes. Not saying no, but saying yes. Because
people are, we're used to saying no to any challenges, anything that's different, to anything
that we're not 100% used to. We're used to putting our guard up, to protecting ourselves, to saying
no to anything that's
outside of our comfort zone or things that we're not a hundred percent comfortable with,
right? The point of life is to get yourself out of your comfort zone, to not do the same thing
over and over again. Do you think that God or the universe or whatever it is that gave you life was
like, you know what? I'm going to send John down there so he can do the same crap every
single day. No, it's to experience life, to get yourself out of your comfort zone, to feel those
butterflies and see what's on the other side of your comfort zone. See what's on the other side
of fear. As Will Smith says, he believes that God put everything amazing on the other side of fear.
So what are you afraid of? What are you afraid of getting out of your comfort
zone and being uncomfortable, finding that, that okay feeling with being on with the, with the
unknown, you know, saying yes to experience new things saying no can make your life boring.
You know, if you've been stuck in a rut with the past couple of months, six months, year,
whatever it is, ask yourself, how many new
things have you been doing? If you've been stuck in a rut, how many new things you've been doing?
I'm going to take a guess. It's probably none. One in this past six months. How many times did
you go out there and put yourself out there and try new things? Meet new people, go new places,
try new adventures. When was the last Go new places. Try new adventures.
When was the last time you got the guts to get up on stage and sing karaoke sober?
Not drunk.
Sober.
That's one of my favorite things to do in the world.
I'm not even kidding.
I am one of the few people that will get up and do karaoke sober.
When was the last time that you did it?
That you did something that made you have butterflies? That scared the crap out of you?
When was the last time that you put yourself out there?
You tried new adventures with new people,
new places, new things.
What's holding you back?
Fear of people judging you?
Who the, I almost dropped the F-bomb right there.
Who the heck cares?
Listen, I love to cuss, I'll be honest with you guys.
If you listen to my voice, I love to cuss.
But one of the reasons why I don't cuss is because I've been told that a lot of people listen to this, uh,
this podcast with children in the car. So, you know, if we're changing the youth life,
I prefer not to drop F bombs so that they don't, the mom doesn't change it. Uh, but I love dropping
them. If you see me on Facebook lives, if you join into my private groups, I drop them. I drop
them all the time. Who freaking cares about what people think about you? That's what's holding you back.
People that are no better than you judging you. Who cares? Who freaking cares? I don't give a
rats. You know what about freaking people judging me? That's for sure. It hasn't always been that
way. That's for sure. But I realized that my life is a lot better when I don't care what people think about me,
when I do what I want to do, when I do what's fun.
When was the last time that you were all alone
and you just decided to freaking bust out
your favorite song when it came on?
You know, those are the things I want you to think about.
Life can suck if you don't get up and do something amazing,
if you don't do something that challenges you,
you know what I want to do? I want to challenge you real quick. I want you to do this. The next
time that you're in line to buy something, I've done this before. I said this years ago on the
podcast and I got an email. I want you to go. And next time you buy something, I don't care what
it's coffee, you know, anything, just when they're ringing you up, go, Hey, can I get a 20% discount?
And just see what they say. Cause usually what they do is they go, uh, why? And you're like,
I don't know. Just thought it'd be cool to get a discount. That's it. That's all you have to
say to them. Just do something that makes you uncomfortable. Just say yes. Don't say no to me.
Say yes. I had somebody, I said this years ago, about four years ago, I did this. I talked about
that on the podcast and a girl sent me an email and said that she asked for a 20% discount when she was buying a $600 purse. And the lady goes,
yeah, sure. She gave her $120 discount on a $600 purse because she just asked like, just,
just say yes. Just do something different. Get out of your comfort zone. Stop doing the same
monotonous things every single day, right?
Next time you're in Starbucks or in a coffee shop, just lay down on the floor.
No reason.
Just do it.
Why won't you do it?
Because people are going to look at you weird?
Because we've been raised to think that you shouldn't lay on a floor in public?
It's like we're so brainwashed by the things that we should and should not do.
It's like we're so brainwashed by the things that we should and should not do. And we say no to almost everything because we're told that it's not right. It's not ladylike. Big boys don't do that. No, screw that. Lay on the floor. Stay there for 30 seconds. Then just get up and walk out. Who cares what people think? No one's going to kick you out.
You're on your way out anyways. You have to realize that you have so much potential inside of you. It's like the Marianne Williamson quote says, as we let our light shine, we unconsciously
give people the permission to do the same. And as we are liberated from our own fears,
our presence actually liberates others. So what have you been saying no to?
Have you been closing doors that could be massively life-changing to you? Lunch with
coworkers, weekend trips with new friends, not rock climbing because you're afraid of heights.
What have you been closing yourself off to? Think about what dangers of not doing the things that
you should be doing or the things that are outside of your comfort zone. What it does, it holds you back from experiencing the essence and joy of all parts of life.
You know, you just decide to do something different.
When you go to the bar, do you order the exact same thing?
How about next time you go to the bar, you close your eyes,
you put your finger down and you order whatever your finger lands on.
Do you go to the same restaurants?
Order the same thing?
Like, what are you going to do something different?
You have, you have a fricking, but it's like going to a buffet that's 75 feet long and you just keep fricking eating salad the entire time.
Guys, your life is limitless.
The joys, the fun, but you just have to start saying yes to everything and stop saying no.
What I want to challenge you today to do is this. What I want to challenge you to do is this.
No matter what it is, when someone asks you something today, you can only say yes.
You can't say no. Just say yes to everything and see how your life starts to change.
Try something different. Ask for 20% off for no reason. Lay on the floor in a coffee shop.
Just do something different. And what you'll realize, once you start doing these things,
it's not really a big deal. People, it's not really a big deal.
People challenge you, not really a big deal.
Who cares?
Just do it anyways.
So that's what I got for you for today's episode.
Say yes to everything.
And if once again,
if you're interested in joining the Habit Mastery 30 Challenge,
there's only a few days left to join.
We start on October 8th.
