Welcome to the Mindset and Motivation Podcast, one of the top motivational podcasts in the

to help make massive changes in your mind and transform you from who you are now to
who you want to be.
My name is Rob Dial, and the podcast starts now.
So in previous episodes, I have talked about figuring out exactly what it is that you want
in life so that you can have clarity. In the last episode, I talked about starting and going and taking the very first step towards what it is that you want
to acquire and starting to go towards your goals. In this episode, what I'm going to talk to you
about is how to think about the things that you want, how to mentally place them into your brain.
And you have to stop thinking that the things that you want are big, that they're
your dream house, your dream car, whatever it is, because big is a relative term. Maybe say you want
to make a hundred thousand dollars in a year. That could be big to you, but to somebody else,
a hundred thousand dollars could be chump change. They wouldn't be satisfied with that because they
make 500,000 or they make a million dollars a year. So big, the word big is just a relative term. When you want a car,
stop calling it your dream car. When you want a house, stop calling it your dream house. When you
want a job, stop calling it your dream job. When you want a specific income to make,
stop calling it your dream income because dreams make it seem unobtainable right now
when in reality, anything that you really want is obtainable right now if you make the correct
steps to get it. See, when you think things are big, your mind automatically categorizes it as
hard to get. So when you think of it as big, your mind automatically categorizes it as hard to get. Not impossible, but hard to get. When it's hard to get, it means in your mind it's
going to take a long time to get there. And when something takes a long time to get there,
it means it's going to require a ton of work. And when something requires a ton of work,
when you think something's going to require a ton of work to get, you will be less
likely to go after it right now. So what we need to do is actually trick our brains because when
we think it's going to be a lot of work, we're less likely to go after it. So our brain will
back away because there's nothing that we need to do right now because that is in the future.
It's going to take a long time because it's hard to get to. It could be gotten to, but it's going to take a really long time. So our brain backs away
because there's nothing that we can do right now because it's so, so far in our future.
And I was at a meetup this past weekend and the presenter was talking about normalizing the
feelings of whatever it is that you want. And this is something I've been doing for such a long time.
And I just realized that I have to absolutely share this with you. Normalizing means that you want. And this is something I've been doing for such a long time. And I've just realized that I have to absolutely share this with you. Normalizing means that you have the
feeling of owning it, that that thing is becoming normal to you. You normalize the feeling that the
money will give you when you have it. So for instance, when I wanted my dream car, my quote
unquote dream car, my dream car at that time is an Audi A4. It was an Audi A4.
So what I would do is I would go to the dealership. I would test drive the Audis. I would be around
them and start getting used to them and stop seeing them as such a dream car. Because when
it's a dream, it seems like it's so hard to obtain. So I've put myself around it so that
when I started driving the car and driven the car, I was like, this is my car. I love this car. I've
driven this. I'm going to own one of these cars. This is my car. And you have to normalize the feeling of
owning that car. Normalize the feeling that your quote unquote dream house is going to give you.
Normalize the feeling that that car is going to give you. Normalize the feeling that the amount
of money in your bank account is going to give you. And what you have to do to normalize it,
you have to hang around people who make that much money. You have to go to the car dealership as often as
possible and drive that car today. You have to go to the dealership. You have to test drive it as
often as you possibly can. Sit in that car. Imagine yourself owning it. Imagine yourself
driving it. Imagine yourself flying down the highway and how good you're going to feel when
you own that car and give the feelings, get those feelings stirred up inside of you versus just looking at pictures of it on the
screen. You have to go and actually normalize what that's going to feel like and normalize those
feelings so that energetically you could already own that car. Hang out with people who own the
houses that you want. If it's so impossible for you to hang out with people and you think it might
be hard for you to start finding the friends that live in these multi-million dollar houses and stuff,
go to the neighborhoods and just drive around every single day or multiple times a week.
And just get used to the fact of driving down this neighborhood. If you have a
quote unquote dream neighborhood, this neighborhood that you want to live in,
well then stop thinking of it as a dream neighborhood and start finding a way to get into that neighborhood and drive around every
single day. Because what you're going to do is at first you're going to be like, holy crap,
these houses are ridiculous. These are all my dream houses. That house is crazy. This house
is crazy. And the first time you go in there, you're just going to be in love with everything
you see. The 20th time you go in there, it's going to start to feel normal for you. And when
it starts to feel normal for you, it doesn't seem that hard to obtain. And energetically, you can trick yourself into,
well, hey, maybe I could own this. Maybe I could own this sooner than I want to because it doesn't
seem so far away. It seems normal to you now. It takes away that what I like to call the holy
crap feeling. When you look at the houses and you're like, holy crap, this house is just crazy. This
is insane. But then when you see it over and over and over again, you're like, you know what?
It's just a house at this point. So then you can attract it easier. When you go to it 20 times,
it starts to feel normal at that point. And what you do is you start to shift your mindset
and you desensitize yourself to the feeling of it. The feeling of the holy crap feeling,
you desensitize yourself from it. See,. The feeling of the holy crap feeling. You desensitize
yourself from it. See, when you see someone who has the car that you want or the house that you
want, the thing that you have to do is you can't be jealous of them. You can't be cursing them.
You can't be like, oh, that bastard. I really want that house. I really want that car. You can't
have those cursing feelings or those jealous feelings because when you curse them or when you get jealous, you're actually detracting that thing from your life instead of attracting it
from your life. You're pushing it further away from you versus bringing it closer to you.
So before you own it physically, you must own it energetically. You must test drive the car.
You must test drive the car as often as you possibly can. Go to the dealership,
hang out around the dealership, look at the cars as often as you possibly can go to the dealership hang out around the dealership
Look at the cars as much as you possibly can drive the neighborhoods
You have to own it energetically
It will trick your brain into owning it already and making it a normal feeling for you. It will make you work harder right now
For the money that you want to for whatever is that you need to be buying whatever is that you want to buy
And not put it off by working harder later on and work harder for it right now. So therefore,
you're working harder for it right now. Envision yourself driving it. Envision yourself as owning
a house that's inside of that neighborhood. See, when you make your dream car, when it's your dream
car, your brain thinks that it's so far and that you're not going to be able to obtain it or that you don't need to work for it right now. We need to trick ourselves.
You have to believe that you already own those things. You already own that house.
You just don't live in it yet. And then you'll be committed to working towards it. You already
own that car. You just don't drive it yet. You already have that money. It just hasn't been
put in your bank account yet. At that point, you will then be committed to working towards those things. Waiting for money to show up so that you can then be committed to
getting those things is the backward way of trying to acquire what you want. But it's the way that
most people think that it works. You have to wait. Oh, I'll wait till I get that money and then I'll
go after the stuff I want. No, screw that. You have to go after stuff you want and be committed
right now and then you will eventually get to them. So you must own the house in your mind. You must
already make that money. You must own the car in your mind. So whatever it is that you want,
you must own it in your mind before you actually own it in the physical sense.
So what you want to do today, what I want you to do today is to decide what it is that you want
and decide what it is you need to do in order to desensitize
yourself from making that much money, from owning that car, from owning that house so that it
doesn't feel so far away so that you can get it sooner. And that way you can attract it into your
life and decide what step you need to take today so that you can desensitize yourself. Go test drive
that car today. Go drive those neighborhoods today. Figure out how it's going to make you feel when you own a house in the neighborhood,
you own that car. So what I want you to do is to figure out what you need to do today
and don't wait. Desensitize yourself and make sure that you figure out a way to own it
energetically before you own it in the physical sense. So with that, I will leave you the same
