Welcome to the MWF Motivation Podcast, one of the top-rated motivational podcasts in
the world.
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I come out with a short, to-the-point, no-BS podcast
designed to transform you from who you are today into who you want to be.
There's no fluff here, just life-changing content.
My name is Rob Dial, and the podcast starts now.

If you have not yet done so, please hit the subscribe button.
You know if you've heard me before, the reason why is so that you never miss another episode of the MWF motivation podcast. And then last but not least, if you have been living under
a rock and have not heard about the massive trial that I'm giving out to people, if you are
interested in my group coaching, I'm allowing you to try my group coaching out for seven days
for $1, $1, that's it. And inside of the group coaching,
so you know, there's a bunch of people in this Facebook group, so you can connect with like
minded people. There's over 40 hours of video lessons to take you from where you are right now
to where you want to be in life. Whether that's money issues, whether that's psychological issues,
procrastination, motivation issues,
any of those things are for 40 hours of lessons.
And obviously in these podcasts, they last about 10, 15 minutes.
They're short to the point.
My in-depth video lessons are just that.
They're more in-depth.
They range in between 25 to 45 minutes on average.
Some of them go up to an hour and a half diving deep into the things
that really could get you out of your own way. Because that's really what we're trying to do is
the only reason why you're not where you want to be is because you're holding yourself back.
That's the way it works for all of us. And so my goal with these lessons is to take you
out of your own way so that you can get to where you want to go. So if you want to try out group
coaching for seven days, go ahead and send me an email, rob at mwfmotivation.com. Once again, rob at mwfmotivation.com.
I will send you a link with a video that explains everything. And then you can sign up right there
if you want to. Okay. So today, what I'm going to be talking about is positive dissatisfaction.
This is something that's pretty much changed my life.
And the reason why is because personal growth and success are tricky things,
especially for someone like me and someone who might be like you,
where you're always trying to grow.
You're always trying to get better.
You're always trying to constantly make yourself better.
Because you know where you want to be and you're trying to get there.
But then you're kind of pissed off or unhappy that you're not there. And I don't know if you want to be and you're trying to get there, but then you're kind of pissed
off or unhappy that you're not there.
And I don't know if you felt this way.
I've felt this way for a long, long time.
And going on vacation was hard for me in the past.
Now it's easy for me because of this, this positive dissatisfaction.
Because you know where you want to be.
You know where you're trying to get.
But part of you is pissed off because you're not there.
And there's actually a portion
of this that you're missing in the equation. I want you to understand this. For me,
like I said, I'm super competitive. And while I was living a happy life, everything was good,
part of me was unhappy because I was growing and trying to get better and trying to get where I
wanted to be. But I was still pissed off knowing how far I had to go,
how far I had to get, like how far into the future I was thinking and how far away I still
was from there. And if I still live by that mindset, I would still be pretty pissed off
because my vision for myself, my vision for my life, this is just the stepping stone.
This is something that's going to be huge.
MWF motivation is probably just a little tiny portion of what's not probably, it is a little
tiny portion of what my life is going to be in all of the lives I'm going to impact. So part of me
used to get pissed off because I was like, I'm not there yet. And some of you guys probably feel,
actually, I'm pretty sure probably everybody feels the same way. Just like, I know where I want to be.
I know what I want for my life, but I'm not there. What the heck
is going on? So if you're listening to this and you felt this same way, you're mad or you're sad
or you're pissed off and you know where you want to be, but you still have a lot to go.
And once again, I still get there sometimes where I catch myself getting mad that I'm not where I
want to be. Here's what you need to do if you're in that situation. What you need to do is you need to be
happy with where you are and you need to practice gratitude. You need to look around you and be
happy where you are. Be grateful for all of the amazing things that you have. Practice gratitude.
I wake up every morning and practice gratitude for the people that are in my life, for owning a house, for the fact that I at least
woke up today, the fact that it's great weather, the fact that my body works, and all of these
different things. There's a lot to be grateful for. You can find the tiniest things in the world
to be grateful for. The fact that your children smile, the children are healthy, all of these things. There's tons of stuff to be grateful for, especially when you
realize how bad it is in other parts of the world. So you are grateful, you're happy with where you
are, but you're not 100% satisfied. That's the key. You need to not look into the future and
wish you were there. You need to look at where you are, be happy with where you are,
but know that there's still more for you.
Know that you're on the journey to becoming more.
And for me, it was hard until I read the book, The One Thing, to take time off.
When I was building my businesses, it was hard to take a day off.
But they say you have to take time off.
You have to schedule time off, the weekends, whatever it is. And you have to take time off. Otherwise,
you'll burn yourself out. You won't enjoy it anymore. And you'll be more productive
if you take time off. Your brain getting rest will allow you to be more productive.
So this positive dissatisfaction, this being grateful but still unsatisfied and wanting more
allows you to be happy in the current moment, to show gratitude but also still want more.
And that, so you know, is a creative state. That's a creative state. To show gratitude
and to be happy with where you are but still want more. That's a creative state. It makes you think
because you're not thinking about what you don't have. What you're doing is you're thinking about
what you have, but then you're also focusing on what you want in your future. Because at that
point, the creative state, you won't be focusing on what you don't have or what you've not
accomplished, or you won't be unhappy with all these things. You'll be happy and grateful, but still working for more. Working and thinking of ways to go further, to push past your limits,
to get out of your comfort zone, to get you where you want to go. And this has been huge for me and
my overall happiness because I was so mad or semi-depressed that I was not where I wanted to be
and I was not focusing on the
amazing life that I had. I was focusing on what I did not have yet. So that's the key. Focus on
what you do have and then still want more. I was comparing myself to people who I look up to.
The number one way to be miserable in this world is to compare yourself to others.
in this world is to compare yourself to others. Let me say that again. The number one way to be miserable in this life is to compare yourself with others because you don't know their past.
They have not walked the same route that you've gone. So to compare yourself with somebody else
is absolutely ridiculous. You will never be them and they will never be you. You have had different paths and there's no reason to compare yourself to them.
Here's the deal though.
I know personally that I'll never be where I want to be because I'm constantly going
to push myself.
Whenever I hit my goal, I always look towards the next goal.
That's just my personality.
It's just the way that I am.
My goals and some of your goals, this might be good for you guys to know.
My goals are like the horizon.
The closer I get to them,
the further they move away.
And I'll never be able to grab the horizon.
You'll never be able to grab the horizon.
It's just going to keep going a little bit further,
a little bit further.
But what I can do is work towards the horizon.
But at the same time,
I can sit back every once in a while,
I can smile, and I can watch the sunset as I continue to keep trying to get towards that
horizon. And so that's the tip that I will give you. Continue to work towards the horizon.
But also sit back and smile and look at how beautiful the horizon is and where you are
at this current moment is as well.
So with that, please do me a favor, share this with someone that you love. If you've listened to a bunch of episodes, but you've never shared it with somebody, hey, pay it forward. You're
