Give us a rating and review so that more people can find this. Because the more people that give us positive ratings and reviews, the more that those platforms show this
to people who have never listened to it before. So that way, someone who's never listened to us
can become aware of it and then start listening to it and hopefully change your life as well.
Today, I'm going to be teaching you how to reset your mindset. I'm going to give you two
very simple tips to help you reset your mindset.
Because you can be, this is what's so crazy about being a human, you can be whatever the
fuck you want to be. And that's an amazing thing. You can be a completely different person
365 days from today. You could be a more fit, more amazing, more centered, more loving version
of yourself. You could actually be more all of those tomorrow or next week, but let's just say
365 days. But if you have a year, you could be a completely different person. And in my mind,
I think that's the best part about being a human is that we are able to build ourself into literally
human, is that we are able to build ourself into literally anything that we want to.
Now, you might be sitting there and thinking, yeah, but is that possible? Absolutely. And part of the problem why that holds people back if they're thinking that it's not possible
is they think to themselves, I am who I am. Because you think to yourself that you've always been that person. And if you think
that who you are is who you are and is who you will always be, if you think that, you will always
be that because you will be whoever you think you are. This is not going too deep down into the
rabbit hole of your identity, but when your identity says, I am this person, all of your
actions will line up with being that person. So if you're like,
oh, I'm always broke. Well, then you're always going to take the actions of a broke person.
How could you ever have abundance and be successful if you're constantly thinking,
oh, I have money problems. Money doesn't grow on trees. You know, I come from a bad part of town.
People that look like me, that talk like me, that come from the place that I'm from don't
have success. If you think that, you will create that. So the first thing that needs like me, that talk like me, that come from the place that I'm from don't have success. If you think that, you will create that.
So the first thing that needs to change, and this isn't even my tip that's in here, first
thing that needs to change though is your mindset around it.
Do you truly 100% believe right now in every one of your 40 trillion cells inside of your
body, do you believe that you can be anything that you want to believe?
Like, can you be anything that you want to be? Can you be that person? Now, if you're 47 years old and you're
like five foot and you're like, hey, I'm going to be, you know, an NBA MVP, probably not. I get that.
I'm not talking about that. You know what I'm talking about. I'm talking about building yourself
into the person that you honestly see deep down in your heart, your full potential actualized. You can be that person. And it comes down to two
different sides. And there's a great book, Mindset by Carol Dweck. I'll give you the summarization
of it. There's a growth mindset and there's fixed mindset. Someone who has a growth mindset thinks,
I can become whatever I want to become. It's just going to take effort on my part.
Someone with a fixed mindset says, I am who I am,
and I will never be anything other than this. But you have to realize this. Your personality,
who you think you are, is not concrete. It is not set in stone. Your personality can be fluid. It can change at any moment. And if you've been listening to the podcast, you've heard me say
this before. Personality literally comes from the Greek word persona. And the persona was the mask that somebody would wear
on stage. And so the person that you think you are, like me, Rob Dial, is just a mask that I'm
wearing. I'm just deciding to wake up and put that mask on every single day, unconsciously a lot of
times. So you've got to wake up and be like, hey, is this consciously who I want to be today? Or do I want to be somebody else?
So there's two options to changing your personality and becoming a completely different
person. Because if your personality is fluid and you decide to change it and you decide to
be a different person over the next 365 days, your personality will start to harden a
little bit more. It's fully fluid, but you'll start to actually wake up and choose to be that
person over the person that you have been. So if you, oh, I'm lazy, I'm tired. If you say that all
the time, guess what your actions are going to be? Lazy and tired all of the time. But if you say,
you know what? I'm going to be committed. I'm going to be a hard worker. I'm going to be determined to do what I say I'm going to do. And that's the
person that you want to be over the next 365 days. You will wake up and be more of that person than
the person that you have been one year from today. And so there's two options to changing
your personality. Number one are small changes. I'll tell you what I mean by that. And number two
is a complete overhaul. Because I don't know
where you are in your life, but depending on where you are in your life, I'm going to be able to
hopefully help you. Option number one, small changes. This would be for someone where your
life is good, but it's nowhere near where you know it could be deep down in your heart. Like
when you think of your potential, I want you to think about this for a second. On a scale of one to a hundred, a hundred being like your absolute
potential is fully actualized. You are perfect. There's nothing else that you could do. Between
one and a hundred, where would you rate yourself right now? As far as actualizing your full
potential of who you are, one to a hundred. Okay. Now you have a number. So small changes would be like,
if your life is pretty good, things are good. Maybe you got a decent job. You make some decent
money. Maybe you get a vacation or something like that. A couple of times a year. Maybe you have a
little bit extra money to buy some cool shit. Maybe life is pretty good. Okay. Maybe you have
a decent house. You have a nice family. You have some cute little kids. You're pretty happy. In this case, you're going to do this. You're going to
bring a small notebook with you everywhere you go. Go onto Amazon, buy one of those little tiny
notebooks or head to CVS or Walgreens, buy one of those little tiny notebooks, the pocket-sized
ones. And what you're going to do is anytime you notice that you do something that you shouldn't,
that does not align with the person that you want to be, you write that thing down.
So you're not just bringing mental awareness to it.
You're actually bringing a lot of mental awareness to it.
You're not just thinking about it.
You're thinking about it and you're writing it down.
And what you start to do is you start to train your brain to look for faults and make adjustments.
So you say, okay, this was something that I just did. And I understand, listen, I'm fully aware
that nine out of 10 people listening to me are not going to buy the damn notebook and do it.
I promise you though, the 10% of people that do it are going to see massive shifts in their life
really, really quickly because you become really
clear on what it is that you're doing that you should not be doing, that does not line up with
the person that you want to be. And so you're training your brain to look for places where you
need to make adjustments. And so what do you do? You buy one of those small notebooks. You bring
a pen with you as well. And any time that you take an action you think something you
do something and it does not line up with who you want to be you write it down so you bring
awareness to it and then you figure out what you would like to replace it with
and then what you do is this every night you take out that notebook and you make plans so every day
before you go to bed you literally make plans and adjustments
based off of what you did today that you shouldn't have done or that you want to do. Like how cool
is that? You're literally making tiny little micro adjustments, which is why option number one is
called small changes. And you're just making tiny little adjustments every single day until you're
taking the actions, until you're thinking like the person that you want to be. And as long as
you do that for an consistent amount of time, you will wake up one day and be like, holy crap,
I have literally created this life that I've always wanted. So maybe you woke up a little
bit late today. You hit the snooze button once, you woke up nine minutes late, you write it down.
You think to yourself, oh, damn it, you should have woke up early. You know, you're supposed
to wake up. You didn't wake up on time. You're a little bit late and you start to get down to
yourself. Oh, I got down on myself. I started shaming and guilting myself. Write that down.
And you start becoming aware. And literally, it's like these red flags will pop up in your head.
These red flags will pop up in your head. These red flags will pop up in your head.
And they start to pop up way more than you think they would pop
up. Like we all have way more adjustments that we need to make. But you start to become really,
really good at stopping yourself before you take that action. Stopping yourself right before that
thought comes in. When you bring this much awareness and this much intentionality, I hope
that's a word. I think it is. If it isn't, I just made
one up. Call up Webster's Dictionary. That's how I am. But making sure that you're taking all of
this intention into every single action, every single thought, everything that happens to you
throughout the day, and you will see massive changes in your life very, very quick. Hey,
did you know that poor sleep can cause weight gain, mood issues, poor mental health, and lower
productivity? And that sleeping less than six to seven hours per night is actually
linked to reduced white blood cell count. White blood cells protect our body against illness and
diseases, fighting viruses, bacteria, and more. Not many people realize this, but having a consistent
nighttime routine is so important. A better tomorrow starts tonight. That's one of the
things that I definitely believe and I always make sure that I always sleep at least eight hours.

Most of us think we spend around $80 a month on subscriptions, but we actually spend closer to $200 a month. on off a one-time purchase. of your subscriptions in one place. Keep the ones that you want and cancel the ones that you don't right from the app. And your Truebill concierge is there when you need them to cancel unwanted
subscriptions so you don't have to. No talking to humans, no difficult conversations. That's the
thing that I love most about it is that I can just cancel from the app and I don't have to talk to
anybody. Truebill has over 2 million users and has helped them save over $100 million. So start
canceling your unused subscriptions at truebill.com

Truebill.com slash dial. I had a friend, she hated that she judged people. And I told her,
anytime you judge people, I want you to write it down. And I want you to write down what you wish
you would have said about that person. So basically replace the negative thought with a positive thought. And she's been doing this for a long
time now. Like this takes time. It's been like 18 months since we had this conversation. We were out
to lunch. It was a while ago, probably about six months ago. And this lady came out, she was
actually a server. She was a big woman as far as like tall, like big, like, you know, she was about
my height, six foot two, you know, bigger woman. And, uh, and immediately my friend said in her head,
she said, damn, that girl's big. Like, and she felt like it was immediate, like a little bit
of adjustment. And immediately she said, I love her. And she, she told me, she's like,
do you want to know what just happened in my head? I was like, what? She's like,
she told me the whole thing where she felt herself start to judge and then didn't even have to think about saying something nice about her, immediately flipped it
to something nice because she had been doing it for like 18 months now. And so the key here
is to bring awareness to what it is that we're doing, thinking, saying, feeling that we don't
want to, and we want to change. It's the key is we're repatterning our brain and our body
to and we want to change. It's the key is we're repatterning our brain and our body to be the way that we want to be to make accomplishing our goals easier. So that is the first thing that you can go.
You can go that route. You can go both these routes if you want to, which is small changes.
That's option number one. Option number two is to do everything the opposite. If you're at a point
where you're like, I hate my life. I am, even if you're not at the point
you hate your life, but you just want a massive shift, this will help you. But you're like,
I don't want to be here anymore. This isn't what I wanted to do. Like, I feel like I'm lost. I feel
like I'm stuck. I feel like I'm too far gone. This is what I want you to do. Do everything
opposite. I got this from my friend, Garen. Garen has had a crazy life. You can scroll back and
listen to my episode with him a long time ago. But he's lived like multiple lives in one. He had
been to a French jail because he was smuggling heroin. He was homeless for two years. And then
one day he had like this moment of enlightenment, moment of waking up. And he realized that his
actions got him to where he was. So if he just changed his
actions, he would be a completely different person. His life would be different. And he
realized he was making so many bad decisions. He didn't want to make just small micro adjustments.
He started doing the exact opposite of what he had always done. So if he walked up to a, you know,
an elevator, he would go up and you have this
moment of like, okay, my entire life I've gone up an elevator, go up five flights of, you know,
five different flights. I bet there's some stairs around here. Let me see if I can find the stairs.
If he normally stayed up late, he would go to bed early. If he ate fast food,
he would make a healthy meal. If he normally would lay on the couch, he'd go to the gym.
He even, no joke, this is a true story.
He even started writing with a different hand.
He wanted to change his life so drastically that he went from writing with his right hand
to writing with his left hand.
He wanted to be completely, he said, you know what?
If all of my actions have gotten me to where I am, and this is not where I want to be,
what do I need to do? I need to do everything differently. And so he took it so seriously, he literally started writing with
a different hand. So start doing the opposite of what you have been doing, because you've done what
you've been doing. You know what results you get, and it's gotten you to where you are.
So it's really, really simple. Just do something different.
Who had a great quote around this? Einstein. Einstein's quote says, do the same thing over
and over again and expect different results as insanity. If you do the same thing over and over
and over and over again, you will always get the exact same results. And so what do you need to do?
always get the exact same results. And so what do you need to do? Something different. If your actions do not change, your results will not change. Your life is, this isn't really hard
to understand. It's so simple. People overcomplicate it. Your life is just simply the result of your
past actions. Where you are right now is the result of your past actions. There's no one else
to blame. Stop trying to blame everybody else. Stop trying to blame your parents, your spouse,
your ex that cheated on you, the economy, the president, the president that we have now,
the president we used to have, the government, whatever it is. Stop trying to blame everybody
else because you're trying to take the blame and put it external. Your life does not change if
you're the victim. Your life changes when you finally step up and say, I am the person who
needs to change. I am the person that got myself to where I am and I will be the person to get
myself out of it because your life is just simply the result of your past actions. Where you are now is the only place that you could be
based off of all the actions that you've had in the past.
If you love where you are, hell yeah.
It's because you did some really good actions in the past.
Give yourself a pat on the back.
If you don't like where you are,
it's because you took some actions in the past
that were not the right actions.
And now you need to just make some changes so that you can get yourself to the new result in one year,
365 days from today, to be a completely different person, to shift from a state of being a victim
to being a champion of whatever your life is. And to be able to realize that your mindset and
your actions, if you make these small adjustments or massive adjustments, will automatically, when you do something different,
there is nothing else that can happen except for something different. So just stop doing the exact
same thing. You won't get the same results. You'll get a completely different life. So option number
one is to make small changes. Option number two is to do everything completely different.
So that's what I got for you for today's episode. If you love this episode and you love this podcast and you want more people
