Starting point is 00:01:30 into today's episode. All right, so today I'm going to be talking about, well, I don't even really necessarily, I know what I'm going to be talking about, but I don't even know if I can title it. This might be a kick in the pants or it might be a kick in the butt or the you know what. Because in all honesty, I get fed up with the fact that people give too much excuses as to why their life is not where they want it to be. I'm sitting in Rome right now in our Airbnb and I don't even know if I don't even think I've announced it. We're taking off tomorrow to go to Bangkok. So by the time that you listen to this, I will already be in Bangkok, which side note, if you have not started following me on Instagram, so you could see all of my updates. I do a lot of Instagram stories. So you can follow me all over the world. My handle is
Starting point is 00:02:19 at Rob period dial. So Rob period dial is my handle. You can follow me on Instagram and see all my stories and keep up with my travels. But I don't tell you that I'm traveling because I'm trying to brag. I'm telling you that I'm traveling so that you can realize I'm a normal freaking human. I do the exact same things you do. We're made up of the exact same structure. Our DNA is exactly the same. There is nothing special about me except for that I have trained my mind to do what I want it to do and to have it stop holding me back. And that's why I want to get this point across to you of there's nothing special about me. If you want to travel, if you want to be happy, if you want to do something with your life and you're not currently doing it, what the hell is wrong? Why can we not get you to where you want to do something with your life and you're not currently doing it, what the hell is wrong? Why can we not get you to where you want to go?
Starting point is 00:03:07 When are you going to finally get to the point where you stop making excuses, where you get your life together, where you do it? And here's the thing. I want to give you some tough love because sometimes you need to hear it from somebody, right? I want to be the kick in the pants for you. I want to be the little spark of motivation that gets you on the road to where you want to go. I will not be part of your determination, your road where you continue
Starting point is 00:03:30 to go when things get hard. But if I can be the little bit of a spark, then I would love to be the little bit of a spark. I remember 10 years ago when I was much, much younger, when I was 21 years old, and I remember thinking, I have this list of all of these places in the world that I want to travel to. What do I need to do to do it? And that was just my thing. I wanted to travel. Maybe you just want to be happy. Maybe you want to have a great family. Maybe you want to be financially secure. You want something, right? When are you going to get to the point where you stop holding yourself back from it? That's what I want to know. And that's why I want to be the kick in the pants for you today. Enough of the excuses, enough of the laziness. You're holding yourself back, right? If you have children, your children are watching you all day, every day. Do you want your
Starting point is 00:04:16 children to grow up and be exactly like you are? Or do you want them to be better than you are? If you want them to be better than you are, well, don't you think that you should bring your best to the table every single day? One of the things that drives me crazy when people say, oh, you know, I wish I could do all of these things, but I've got kids and I don't have enough time and all that. Stop using your kids as an excuse. I said this in my group coaching the other day. I put up a video in my group coaching. Stop using your children as an excuse. They're not an excuse. It is not their fault that you are not where you want to be. It is your fault why you are not where you want to be. Don't use your kids as an excuse. That's a freaking cop-out, right? If you take yourself
Starting point is 00:04:56 out of your mind and look at that from an outsider's perspective, you're in a sense blaming your children for your lack of success or your lack of being where you want to be or your lack of happiness or your lack of blank, whatever it is, right? They should not be your excuse. That's a cop-out. It should never be that you don't have enough time. If you have kids, I get it. Kids take a lot of time. Put them to bed. Get it together once they go to bed. Stay up later because the better that you are, the better that your life is, the better that their life will be as well. If it really is important to you, you will find a way. That's what I want you to realize. That's what I want you to think about. There's never any excuses you can use. You are in 100% control of your life. You make all of the decisions, right?
Starting point is 00:05:42 Either you make the decision to take control and do everything that you want to in your life, or you don't. And by not doing it, you're making the decision to not do it, right? You are the only one that cares about your success. You're the only one that wants you to be where you want to be. So either you figure out a way to get past all of the BS that you continue to create in your mind, or you stay in the exact same situation. You stay in the exact same place.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Successful people fail more than anybody else. But when they fail, when they get kicked in the face, when they fall down, they get back up because they know what they want and they know why they want it. You being better will make your life better. You becoming more successful will make your life better, will make your children's life better, will make your children's make your life better. You becoming more successful will make your life better, will make your children's life better, will make your children's children's life better.
Starting point is 00:06:28 Your children will be better versions of themselves if you are a better version of yourself. Let me think, let me bring that back around real quick. Your children will be the best version of themselves as they get older if they see you be the best version of themselves as they get older. If they see you be the best version of yourself as they are getting older, if they see you being lazy or cutting corners or sleeping in or not doing the things they need to do that you need to do, guess what? They're probably going to do the same thing. Do you want to look at your kids and go,
Starting point is 00:07:00 man, I wasn't the example that I should have been. I don't think that you do. And if you don't have kids and you're listening to this, you have other people watching you. You have other people that you could be inspiring. My favorite phrase when I used to run an office and I wanted to break the record that was a 65-year company record that we had broken eventually was that if you set yourself on fire, people will come to watch you burn. I try to set myself on fire every single day and inspire myself. And by inspiring myself and making myself, quote unquote, on fire, everybody else got a spark inside of them as well. If you don't have kids, guess what?
Starting point is 00:07:36 If you set yourself on fire, people will come to watch you burn. They will want that spark that you have inside of them. It's like a magnet. So whether you do or don't have kids, there's people around you that are watching you, that are taking inspiration from you or looking at you and saying, no, I don't want to do that.
Starting point is 00:07:52 Be the best version of yourself. Please, you get one life. The best that we know, we get one life. Maybe we get other ones. Maybe there's reincarnation. Maybe there's God. Maybe there's not God. We don't know.
Starting point is 00:08:02 I don't know. You don't know. We don't know for sure. But one thing we do know, or we have a pretty good idea of, I guess, is that we do get one life. That's the best of our knowledge. Don't waste it. Don't act like you have another at bat. Please, please, please make the decision today that you're going to wake up early, that you're going to do what needs to be done, that you're going to really set yourself on the path that you need to be successful, to be happy, to whatever, travel the world or find financial success or just hang out and be able to enjoy your life
Starting point is 00:08:33 with freedom because you were able to work hard for a little while and gain a lot of money, which gave you the financial freedom, which in turn gave you the freedom to live life the way that you wanted to. So maybe you don't want to travel like I do. That's completely cool. I am completely cool with that. But I'm just a normal person. You're just a normal person. Every person that you look up to, Elon Musk, Michael Jordan, Bill Gates, they all do the same thing that you do. They all take craps, right? That's the thing. They're a normal person. They're not someone to look up to in And the fact like they're a superhuman, they do the exact same thing. If they have too much Mexican food, they're going to find themselves on the toilet the next day.
Starting point is 00:09:11 You and I both know that, right? They're a normal human. Realize that there's nothing different about them. They just push themselves when they need to push. And when they fail, they continue to keep going. You can do the same thing. So if you like this episode, a little bit crazier of a one, I understand. Please share it with someone that you know and love. And I'm going to leave you the same way I leave you every single episode. Make it your mission to make somebody else's
Starting point is 00:09:34 day better. I appreciate you and I hope that you have an amazing day.
