Welcome to the MWF Motivation Podcast, one of the top-rated motivational podcasts in
the world. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I come out with a short, to-the-point, no-BS
podcast designed to transform you from who you are today into who you want to be. There's
no fluff here, just life-changing content. My name is Rob Dial, and the podcast starts now.
Welcome to today's episode.
If you have not yet done so, hit the subscribe button so that you never miss another episode.
And if you have not listened to the past couple episodes, I made a
massive, massive announcement about my free five-day challenge group. So what happened was,
and I'll kind of give you an idea of where this came from, what happened with my five-day challenge
group, the reason why it came up was because I had so many people reaching out to me right around
this time of year and they said, you know, my January didn't go the way that I wanted it to,
I'm not really good at planning my New Year's resolutions. I'm not following through on what it is. I'm really good at starting
something, but I'm not good at continuing it. And I'm struggling with really taking my life to the
next level because I'm stuck in habits. And so what happened was I thought to myself, well,
how can I teach more in depth? How can I have more interaction with the podcast listeners,
with people who follow me on Facebook, with all of these things? And what I thought to myself was I need a way for me to
interact with them and for them to be able to interact back with me. That is the reason why
I started this group is for us to be able to chat back and forth and for me to be able to help you
through this because you have habits in your life that you need to break. We all have habits in our lives that need to break. This five-day challenge is really designed to break those habits and get
you in the directions you need to go. So what I'm going to be doing is I'm going to be going live
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in this group. That is going to start March 5th.
March 5th through March 9th, I will be live every single day just in this Facebook group.
And I'm going to be giving instructional lessons, probably 45 minutes to an hour for each one of them.
45 minutes to an hour for each lesson, not all of them together, for each one on how to take yourself, your 2018 to the next level, how to break your habits, how to create new ones as well.
So if you want to join the group, which I definitely 100% recommend, we are already over a thousand people in the group,
go to coachwithrob.com. It is 100% free. So you literally have no excuse of why you should not
join it. It is 100% free to join this group. The only skin that you need to have in the game is
you need to pick
yourself up off the ground, give yourself a kick in the butt and say, this is something I'm going
to commit to. So go to coachwithrob.com, join in. I can't wait to see you there. I can't wait to
help you through this process. And up until March 5th, I'm going to be giving instructional
trainings once a week through there. So we already have an amazing training that went on for about 45 minutes yesterday. So if you did not see
it, go to coachwithrob.com. You can go ahead and join there. Don't put www.coachwithrob.com for
some reason that doesn't work. So anyways, what I'm going to be talking about today is comparison.
Okay. I was watching something the other day and it's very, very obvious that we compare
ourselves with other people. It's very obvious. We compare ourselves with other people out there
in the world. And that is one of the biggest mistakes that you can make. You have not had
the same life that somebody else has. So for you to compare yourself and where you are right now
with somebody else is completely ridiculous,
right? Some people have had it easier than you to get to where they want to go. Some people have had it harder than you to get to where they want to go. So the thing about that is for you to
compare yourself to somebody is absolute insanity. You can't compare yourself to somebody. Part of
the problem with comparing yourself to somebody as well is jealousy. That's one of the biggest parts to comparing yourself with someone else. It's not really
that you're comparing and you're thinking to yourself, man, good for them, right? You're
never thinking that. You're thinking to yourself, man, bad for me. Man, I should be there. Why am
I not there? I followed the path that society told me to take. I did what I was
supposed to do. I went to school. I did these things. You know, I feel like I'm smarter than
these people. Why the hell are they further ahead than I am? Right? You can't compare yourself with
people because everybody else has had a different path. And we look on social media and we have
social media, the state of the world, we're always comparing ourselves to others and
what others have and it never leads to happiness or true success. Happiness is not trying to have
what other people have. Happiness is not trying to have what other people have. Happiness is
wanting what you already have. I'm going to say that again. Happiness is not wanting what other people have.
Happiness is wanting what you already have. Realizing that you already have enough. Realizing
that you already are enough. Realizing that nothing will make you feel more complete. So the
acquisition of things or people or emotions or whatever it might be will not change the way that
you feel about yourself.
If you're comparing yourself with somebody else, what you're actually doing
is realizing that I don't have what they have. I don't have the same things that they do.
If you always compare yourself to what you don't have, you will always not be enough.
There will always be more money that you could go get.
There will always be more toys.
There will always be somebody who has more than you.
Let me say that again.
There will always be somebody who has more than you.
And if you're just going for money or just going for things, you will be miserable forever.
If you want to be miserable forever, compare yourself to other people. If you want to be miserable forever, find out what you don't have
because you will never be able to acquire anything. You will never, never be able to
acquire everything. So what you have to realize, and this is why minimalistic is starting to become
the minimalistic movement is starting to become so popular is because people are realizing that the things that they have been taught by society and by advertising that are
supposed to make you complete, that are supposed to make you happy, that are supposed to make you
finally worth something to this world is just a bunch of BS. It's actually not going to make
you happier. It's not going to make you feel better about yourself.
What's going to make you happier and make you feel better about yourself is wanting what you already have. Waking up with gratitude. Gratitude is the key to happiness, not acquiring new things.
You will never be eternally happy by acquiring something new. You will be eternally happy by realizing that you are already enough
the way that you are. You already have enough. You already are enough. You already have everything
that you need inside of you. You are not incomplete at this point. With advertisements that are out
there, with the way the world is, with the way the society is built, the way that we are consumers and we live in a consumer world, we always think we have to buy, buy, buy, get the
new thing, get the next thing, get the new thing, get the next thing all of the time. You don't have
to do that. You are already complete. And the quicker that you realize that, and the quicker
that you realize that actually getting rid of things and getting rid of wanting
things or getting rid of jealousy or getting rid of comparison, the quicker that you get rid of all
of those things, the quicker that you will be happy. So what I would recommend for you is this.
Whenever you see something that somebody else has, whenever you're on Instagram
and you see someone that has a nice
car or a nice house or a nice body or whatever it might be, what I want you to do is this, say,
good for them. They earned it, right? That might be hard for some people. Good for them. They earned
it. I hope that makes them happy. And what you start to realize, you start to release these
change, these invisible chains you've had on your entire life, you start to release these change, these invisible chains
you've had on your entire life. You start to release all of these things and you start to
realize that what will make you happy is what you already have. The people that are around you,
the more great friends that you have will make you happier. So that's what I would focus on
for this episode, for this week, for your lifetime, if possible. And if you liked this
episode, please do me a favor, share this with someone that you know, someone that you love.
And if you want to join in on the five-day challenge group, go to coachwithrob.com,
join in for free. I would love, love, love to have you there. I'd love to meet you
virtually and be able to chat with you over this Facebook group that we have. Go to coachwithrob.com. Once again,
do not put in www. I have no idea why it doesn't work. I'm not a technical person. Just go to
coachwithrob.com. No www. You don't have to go into the World Wide Web, I guess, to get a coach
with Rob. But with that, I'm going to leave you the same way I leave you every single episode.
Make it your mission to make somebody else's day better. I appreciate you,
and I hope that you have an amazing day.
