to the podcast the second that it comes out so you can get the secret website that you'll be
able to get the massive discount at. So go to 2020habits.com and let's go ahead and dive into
today's episode. So what we're going to talk about today is the story that you tell yourself.
See, because everything in your life, your life and everything that you have now,
everything that you have in it, everything that you don't have in it,
is a result of everything that you tell yourself in your head.
It's a result of the story that you tell yourself.
Everything that you do and everything that you don't do
is to stay in alignment with the story that you tell yourself. Let me repeat that because I think
it's important. Everything that you do and everything that you don't do is to stay in
alignment with the story that you tell yourself in your head. See, this story is developed through
your entire childhood and it's stored in your subconscious.
It might have been something that happened to you that caused a limiting belief in your
head and now it's just a limiting belief that you carry with you.
It is everything that happened to you.
It's everything that all of the nature, all of the nurture, everything.
And everything that you do, once again, will be to stay consistent
with that story, whether you do it consciously or whether you do it unconsciously, it will be
to stay consistent with that story. So the question that we need to find out is what is
the story that you've been telling yourself your whole life? What's the story you've been telling
yourself your whole life? Because everything that you do will be to stay consistent with that story you tell yourself. It's just like the paradigm that
I talk about in episode 85. When I talk about the law of attraction, the paradigm will kick out any
thought, anything that pops into your head that's not consistent with your current views.
So what is the story? Is it that you are not smart enough? Is it that
you're not good looking enough? Is it that you're not fit enough? Is it that success is hard? Is it
that wanting a lot of money is selfish or that money is the root of all evil or that you have
to live paycheck to paycheck because that's how it works? Or is it that you don't deserve success
or that you don't deserve love? Is it that you're not enough? is it that you don't deserve success or that you don't deserve
love? Is it that you're not enough? Is it that you'll never be enough? Is it that you're always
going to be fat? You're always going to be overweight. You're always going to be stupid.
Is it that you don't deserve happiness? What is it? You need to find out what it is. And it's a
very important question. It might be the most important question you ever ask yourself is,
what is the story that I'm telling myself that's holding myself back? And unless we identify exactly what that
story is and absolutely crush it and crush that limiting belief, nothing in our lives will change.
So unless we say, damn, what is it that has been holding me back? What am I telling myself
subconsciously or consciously that's holding me back? What am I telling myself subconsciously or consciously
that's holding me back from what I really want? And unless we do that, unless we identify it
and then absolutely crush that limiting belief in that story that we're telling ourselves,
then nothing in our lives will change. If you're not satisfied with where your life is right now,
I'm going to be completely honest with you and I I'm sorry to say it. Nothing is going to
change. Absolutely nothing is going to change unless you figure out what the story that you
tell yourself is and figure out a way to overcome that. And what you see is this. The story is like
a breaker switch. And a breaker switch will completely shut off anything. So if it's a surge,
say a huge amount of surge of...
The way a breaker switch works inside of a house, let's say you have a house
and lightning strikes right next to us and a huge amount of electricity goes into your house,
that breaker switch will then turn everything off before that electricity can go into your
house and make all of the electronics explode. So that's the exact same way that this story works inside of your head as well. It's like a breaker switch. It will shut
off any good or any good change that might be coming in to knock you back to the story that
you tell yourself. So for example, if you're overweight, if your family's overweight, if
everyone you know is overweight, if you've always been overweight and you grew up overweight, the story you might be telling yourself is that obesity runs in your
family. When in reality, hey, it might run in your family. In reality, it might not run in your
family. It might just be that obesity doesn't run in your family. It could be that nobody runs in
your family, if you've ever heard that joke before. So what is the story? It might be that
you say, well, obesity runs my family,
so I'll always be this way. I'll never be able to get into better shape.
And what you have to realize is if that's the story, then you will never change.
Nothing will ever change. Your weight will never change unless you change that story.
And this can be used for anything, but I'm just using weight as an example.
So if your weight is normally 200 pounds and you were to weigh
yourself one day and you are magically 190 pounds, you would be so freaking excited.
I know that you would. You'd be happy, but subconsciously that story is going to creep
back into your head of, I have obesity though. Obesity runs in my family. That will creep back
into your head and slowly but surely, you will start making the wrong
decisions and taking the wrong actions with food or with not working out in order to get back to
200 pounds because that is your story. Your story is that's where you're supposed to be and
everything that you do will make sure that you're consistent with that. Same thing with money. If
your story is that money is hard to come by or that you have to live paycheck to paycheck or
that money is the root of all evil or wanting a lot of money is selfish, any of those things,
well, then you will do everything that you can subconsciously, consciously, whether you know
that you're doing it or not doing it, you will do everything that you can to detract money away
from you. You will make the decisions to not make more money. You will be lazy to not make more money. You will tell yourself you're not good enough so you won't
go to that job interview that you know that you can make more money. It's the same with money.
It's the same with relationships. It's the same with happiness. It's the same with everything,
whatever the story is that you're telling yourself. So the question is, what is the story
that you're telling yourself? And I really want
you, and I keep repeating this over and over again for a reason, I want you to really think about
this because this is some really deep-ish right here. This is reaching deep down inside, finding
out exactly what it is that's holding you back from your true potential and being completely
unstoppable because this is a story that's holding you back from being exactly who
you want to be. You are limited by the story that you tell yourself. So if you can identify what
that story is, then we can start making action steps to overcome that story. The best part about
it is if you're telling yourself the story, well, then we can now figure out a way to change that
story, to change your beliefs and to change change your fears to start working towards making a new story, the story that you want to
actually tell yourself. And in the next episode, we'll talk about fear and how to identify them,
how to overcome them from holding you back, because usually that's a big part of that story
as well. And if we can figure out a way to overcome fears and identify those fears with the story, then we can make the steps that we need to obviously to
start changing your story to change your future as well. So the most important part is to identify
your story. What is the story that you've been telling yourself? And I want you to think about
it and I want you to figure it out before the next episode, before you listen to the next episode on fear, because you need to identify your story because that
is the thing that's going to limit you. Your story is going to limit you and we can't overcome it
unless we identify it first. So with that, I want to leave you guys the same way I leave you every
single episode. Make it your mission today to make somebody else's day better. I appreciate you and I hope that you have an amazing day.
