It's just basically if you feel like you're stuck, if you love this podcast but you want more,
I have some super in-depth lessons, 20 to 40 minute lessons
to really impact your life and try to help you make changes right away. And so with that,
we're going to dive in and we're going to talk about black and white.
No, I'm not talking about racial tension or any of those things that are going on in the world
right now that are scary, but crazy, all of those things. I'm going to talk about how you should see your life in black and white.
Everything in life is either black or it's white.
It is all binary.
If you know what binary is, it's either a one or a zero.
It's either a yes or a no.
It's either a go or a stop.
That's it.
Either you do something or you don't do something.
And this is something that I've learned from mentors
and people that I've been hanging out with
that are much, much more successful than I am.
They're happier than I am.
They have traveled the world more than I have.
But they're just successful people.
And they think in binary. It's either a one or it's a zero. It's either a black or a white. It's either a yes or
a no. It's either a go or a stop. And it's either you do something or you don't do something.
There is nothing, nothing, nothing in between. Successful people will tell you that it is black
and white and that's it. There's nothing in between. There's no emotional thoughts. Either you do something or you don't. And I know some of you out there might be saying,
well, that's not quite true because there's times when you need to think about it to consider all
of your options and think about how everyone will react and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
blah, blah, blah. Sure. You can sit around and think about it. Think about all of the options or get worried about it
or constantly question everything that you do and all of the things that you're doing.
But if you're, think about it this way, if you sit around and think about it and you weigh out
all the options or you get worried or you constantly question everything, you are essentially still not doing it. Correct? So it's either you do it
or you don't. And by sitting around and thinking about it or worrying about it or considering all
the options, you are actually not doing it. So it's either a black or it's a white. It's a one
or a zero. It's a yes or a no. It's a go or stop. It's either you do it or you don't do it. You
have to learn that all of it is either black and white. If it's a yes, a go, a do it,
then, you know, let's say that's black. If it's a no, a stop, don't do it, any of those things,
that's a white. It's either black or white.'s it there's no other options there's no thinking about it because thinking about it is a no
then if you think about this all of your thinking all of your worrying all of your fears all of
your weighing the options or waiting for the perfect moment makes it a no it's all black or
white it's yes or no either you do it or you don't do it. Stop clogging
your mind with all of the crap that you can clog it with, all of the worrying, all of the fears,
all of the stuff that really doesn't matter. Now, I understand this is not something that's done
overnight because we're so used to overthinking stuff. We're so used to delaying stuff, but it needs to be something that you put into everyday practice.
Do you know that within one second of something happening, of you asking yourself a question,
anything within one second of your entire life, just driving down the road,
walking in your kitchen, your brain is asking yourself, is this safe? Everything you do or
every decision that you make, it's asking itself subconsciously, is this safe? Five times per
second. Five times per second. So I understand you can't just stop this way of thinking right away,
but what you can do is you can bring awareness to it, to realize
that it exists and to think deeply about it, about what your brain is actually doing and the processes
that it's actually going through. Because your brain is always trying to keep you safe, to talk
you out of things. Even if you feel that it's right in your gut, your brain is always
trying to talk you out of it. That's why whenever I'm talking to my coaching clients, I always say,
what's your first thought? When I say this, what's your first thought? And they always go,
my first thought is this, but there's this, this, this. And I always say, go with your first thought.
Your first thought is your gut thought. That's what you should be doing. Your second, third,
fourth thought, those things are usually your brain trying to talk you out of it, trying to keep you safe. So next time that you're stressing
out about doing something or not doing something and you're thinking too much or you're feeling
your fears creep in, ask yourself this real quick. Is it a yes or is it a no? That's it.
a yes or is it a no? That's it. Is it a yes or no? And it can't be, there's no gray areas.
It can't be, well, you know, I'm not sure if it's a yes or no at this point because there's people in all of these things. No, it's either a yes or no. It's either you do it or you don't do it.
And if you are constantly questioning and thinking about all of this stuff, you are still not doing
it. So it defaults to no. It's
either a yes or it's a no. Which one is it? If you can make your decisions like this,
it starts getting quicker. I always hear this phrase and I never really understood it until
I got super busy. And I mean super busy since the podcast blew up. But when you don't have a whole
lot of, when you have a bunch of extra time, it's not really a big deal. But when you start
getting to the point where there's a lot of people reaching out to you, you have all of these things,
all of these commitments, you have to kind of prioritize your time. And you have to think,
well, what am I going to do? And the phrase is this, if it's not a hell yes, it's a hell no.
So if something comes to my table and someone says, hey, this, this, and this, if it's not a
hell yes, it's a no. I just can't do it. It's either black or white. That's it. If your brain wants to ask you another
question after you ask yourself, is it a yes or no? So when you fear the fear, if you're stressing
out about doing something and you're not doing something or you're trying to worry about all
of this stuff or you feel your fears creeping in and you ask yourself, is it a yes or no?
And your brain wants to ask
another question, then bring your focus back to the question, is it a yes or no? So if you're
listening along, that's the one thing at least I would write down is, is it a yes or is it a no?
And that's what you should guide yourself with. And go with your gut feeling. Do what your gut
says and don't allow your brain to bring in all of your fears and all
of your extra thoughts and all of the essentially unneeded stuff that's just wasting your time.
Because if you spend all of your time doing it, the worrying, you're just defaulting to
no anyways.
It's wasting your time.
So nothing else.
Write that down.
Is it a yes or is it a no?
Start thinking in black and white.
Either you do it or you don't do it. You do it or you don't do it. And that's it.
Don't waste your time with all of the worrying. Don't waste your time with all of that stuff.
