Welcome to today's episode of the Mindset Mentor podcast. I am your host Rob Dial and if you have
not yet done so, hit that subscribe button so that you never miss another episode. Today we're
going to be talking about how we are at war and no, I don't mean that we're at war with ISIS or Al Qaeda or any other countries.
We are collectively as a species at war with an invisible virus that's come in,
killed a lot of people. And I want to talk about how your life would be different if you...
I'm going to ask you a question. If you were about to go to war, if you knew that in
two weeks or a month from today, right now, that you had to go to battle, that you had to go to war,
what would you do differently right now? If you knew that in two weeks from today,
a week, let's just use two weeks as an example, two weeks from today, you're going to be going
to war. What would you do differently? Think about this for a second. Would you spend more quality time with your family?
Probably. Would you work out harder than you ever have in your entire life so that you can be
physically as prepared as possible to go to war? Probably. Would you focus on having the best mind
that you possibly can? Probably. Would you meditate more?
Probably.
Would you read more?
Probably.
Would you eat healthier?
Probably.
Would you focus on what's important to you?
Probably.
These are the things that you would probably do if you knew that you were going to war.
Would you spend more time creating something that would impact the world or maybe
even your children if you did not come back from battle? Probably. Because think about it. If you
were to go to war and you knew you came to war, you went to war, wouldn't you want to have something
to be remembered by that your children can remember you, that the world can remember you,
so they can know who you are, what you believe in, what you stand for. So we got that you would spend more time with your family. You would work out
harder. You would eat healthier. You would work on your mind more that you would create something
to impact the world. Would you spend a bunch of time on social media? Nah, probably not.
Would you spend time, waste time worrying about things that don't
matter? Probably not. Would you worry about what Karen down the street thinks of you? No, probably
not. Would you worry about what Karen in accounting thinks of you and she's on the Zoom call? No,
probably not. What you would do is you would focus on the things that really matter the most.
what you would do is you would focus on the things that really matter the most.
Your mind, your body, your soul, your relationships, all of the things that you possibly could.
But you wouldn't waste on all the things that don't really matter. The social media and,
you know, the worrying about things that don't truly mean something. I want you to realize the way that I see the current circumstance that we are in is we
are at war. The human race is at war with us. Now, I'm not scared of the coronavirus. It will
eventually pass over. It's, and it will, you know, I don't know if it's ever going to disappear,
but we will, it will all eventually calm down. I do know that for sure. I do think that it'll
calm down quicker if people stop leaving their damn houses and putting themselves and other
people at risk. So the quicker people lock themselves down, the quicker this is going to
go over so we can get back to somewhat of a normal life. I don't know how normal it's going
to be in the next couple of years, but I see it as we are at war. I am mentally, physically,
emotionally, spiritually trying to prepare myself financially, business-wise, all of these things,
prepare myself as if we are at war, as if I am personally at war.
That is physically, mentally, emotionally, the way that I am seeing it in my head and the way
that I'm thinking about it. This is not going to get better within the next month. I'm just going
to tell you that right now. It's not going to get better in the next month. It's going to get worse.
Not trying to scare you, but I'm trying to be realistic. When you look at the numbers,
and I just did basic math and saw, oh my gosh, this doubles
every three days, you can see that we're at the point, if you've ever read the article
about the penny that doubles, you know, if you double a penny every single day for 30
days, that penny, that one cent, double it, one penny to two pennies, two pennies to four
pennies, six, four pennies to eight, to 16, to eight to 16 to 32 to 64 on and on and on and on
and on. 30 days later becomes five over $5 million. So it looks really small, really small,
really small. And then it takes off and it's a point where it's massive amounts of money.
It's the same thing that's happening right now. Um, and I'm just being realistic. I'm not scared
of it. I'm not trying to scare you of it. I'm just being realistic. It's not going to get better in
the next month. So how can we mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually see ourselves at war?
Because your health is at war right now.
Your bank account is at war.
Your career is at war.
Your family's health is at war.
How can you think to yourself, if I was going to war in two weeks,
what would I do differently right now?
And how can I make that switch in my head to go, you know what?
I'm going to work my freaking ass off.
You know, if you have a job right now
and you haven't been fired,
you need to work your ass off
to make sure that you keep that job.
Because there's one thing that I do know
is that if somebody works their ass off
and they're really, really good at the job,
they usually don't get fired.
So if you do have a job,
you need to just be your number one mission
besides taking care of your health and your family and all that stuff to. So if you do have a job, you need to be your number one mission besides
taking care of your health and your family and all that stuff to work harder than you ever have
to make sure that you stay employed. If you don't have a job right now, your new job is finding a
job and working on your health and working on your fitness and working on your, your mentality
because everything is at war. The current, the life that you had a month ago is at war. That doesn't really
exist right now. And that's not a bad thing. Change people always see as a threat, but change
can be a incredibly beautiful thing and it can be massive for you as well. Personally, if you want
to know what I'm doing, I'm absolutely doubling down on everything in my life. I'm doubling down
on everything that's important to me. I'm spending more time with my family. I've had more FaceTime sessions with my sister and my mom in the past week than I ever
have. We're playing a game, which I recommend it. Don't spend all day on it, but it's called
House Party, where it's basically like FaceTime and you can play games with other people.
We might send so many people there that we might shut them down. But six people,
eight people can play trivia games. They could play Pictionary and draw it. I've been spending
more time with them through FaceTime than I ever have. So I'm trying to do that. I'm working out
every single day and I'm working out hard thinking to myself, I'm going to battle. I'm going to
battle. I'm going to battle. I need to literally be as fit as I possibly can in my head mentally. I'm reading more because of that. I'm doubling down
on my business. I'm hiring more people. I'm doing the exact opposite of what everybody else is
doing. I'm hiring more people in my business to help this business grow. There's a, one of my
favorite quotes is by Warren Buffett, who's, you know, a billionaire investor. And he says, when people are greedy, be fearful. When people are fearful, be greedy. Well, up until
a month ago in for the past, you know, four years of, we should have had a recession four years ago.
You know, there's statistics that prove that it should have happened three or four years ago.
It's just been kind of pushed off and pushed off and pushed off. And if you want to know more about
a recession and how it works, look up on YouTube. There's a video by Ray Dalio, who is probably the
most incredible, like probably the best investor that's ever existed. And it's called the economic
machine. I think it's what it's called. So you have to realize how the economic machine works
in cycles, how there's recessions, there's peaks, there's values, peaks and values, and how it all works. If you don't know how it works, I recommend watching that video. It's
incredible. It'll explain all of it to you. But I knew that there was going to be eventually a
recession that's happening. And with all of that being said, I knew that I needed to be very
greedy with, I'm sorry, very fearful in investing my money and where I was putting it because I
knew eventually the bottom would probably fall out of it. So I was hoarding money. I was hoarding,
you know, business from my, I wasn't spending near as much as I could, or, you know, with,
when I made more money, I didn't spend more money. That was the main thing. I just kept putting it
away and putting it away and putting it away because I knew eventually this day would come.
And I knew that when the day came, I would then be able to put all of that money back into
my business to see my business grow. So if you have a business right now, it's really good time
to be, to do the exact opposite of what everybody else is doing. You know, if you do anything on
Facebook ads, Facebook ads are cheaper than they were a month ago because less advertise, less,
less companies are advertising, which is now making them, you know, supply and demand. It's
making them cheaper. So I'm doing the exact opposite. I'm thinking to myself, if lots of people are firing
and lots of people are being fearful and they're afraid and less people are creating content,
that means that I need to do the exact opposite. I need to hire some more people to make sure this
continues to grow. I need to create more content so that more people can see this stuff because I
know that some people are so fearful and their mindset's not in the right place that they're not creating the content that they could. And so I'll be the
person that goes and creates content. I'll hire the editors. I'll hire the people that can help
distribute it and put it all out there. And I'm investing into my business more than I ever have
because I know that now's the time. The switch has been flipped and I'm seeing it as a battle,
as a war that I'm going into. I'm going to war, not with other people, not with other businesses.
I'm going to war with myself and who I could be.
And I could be a very fearful person or I could be the person who,
and greedy is, I guess, kind of the wrong word for this,
but more, I would say, courageous in what I'm doing.
So I'm trying to hire more people.
I'm trying to focus more on the relationships.
I'm focusing on working out.
I'm focusing on reading. I'm focusing on eating healthy as I possibly can, right? And so when
people are greedy, be fearful. When people are fearful, be greedy. Now's the time for you to
be courageous and start doing the exact opposite of everybody else. Now's the time to expand.
Other people are contracting. Now is the time if you want to stand out for you to expand. If you've
ever wanted to start a business, now is a great time to start a business. If you've ever wanted
to grow your business, now is a great time to grow a business. If you've ever wanted to
grow an Instagram or a Facebook and grow on social media, there's more people on social
media now than there ever has been. You know, when I do a Facebook live, there's usually three
to 400 people on Facebook live. At the peak, there's, you know, watching me at one point in time, there's at most three to 400
people. I went live randomly, not even the best time of day for me, and 1,200 people at the peak
were watching me. That means that three to four times more people than normally watch me are at
home watching me. So if you've ever wanted to grow a social media, if you've ever wanted to grow a
business, if you ever want to be an influencer or to take your coffee shop and to grow the Instagram of your coffee shop,
now is the time to do it. Now is the time to get louder, to work harder, to double down on
everything that you do, because you're going to be doing something the exact opposite of everybody
else. And that's what I always want to do. I always want to do what is different than everybody
else. People are contracting. Now for myself, it's the time to explode. It's the time to expand.
It's the time to impact more people. It's the time to expand. It's the time to impact more people.
It's the time to make a greater impact on the world
and everything else that's around me.
Now is your time to do the same thing.
You are at war.
I'm at a different war than you are.
We're all at war with the exact same thing though.
You're at war with your bank account
and what could possibly happen to it.
You're at war with the fact of your career disappearing.
You might be at war with the fact
that your career did disappear.
You're at war with the fact that your fear, you're at war with the fact that you're not able to spend
time with the people that you love. So you need to find a way around that. We are all at war.
Now you need to actually wake up in the morning and be focused as if you were going to war in
two weeks and saying, what the hell do I need to do with the next two weeks of my life? I need to
spend time with the people that matter. I need to focus on things that matter. I need to focus on my
health. I need to focus on my fitness. I need to focus on what I'm eating. I need to spend time with the people that matter. I need to focus on things that matter. I need to focus on my health. I need to focus on my fitness.
I need to focus on what I'm eating.
I need to focus on my business.
I need to focus on making sure that I impact the world
and I do the exact opposite of everybody else.
We are all at war.
Now is the time to double down
because there's more people on the internet
than there ever have been.
It's one of the best times,
if not the best time to grow your business online,
to impact the world, to change the world,
to gain market share.
Now is the time to expand. And so what I want you to do is to think to yourself, if I was going to war,
how in two weeks, how would I live my life differently? What would I do? And how can you
focus on doing those things over the next two weeks and see how it works and recalibrate.
And then over the next two weeks, if you need to, you can recalibrate, just go hard for the next
two weeks, see what happens, see how your life changes. See how your
business changes. See how your bank account changes. Because now is the time for you to
get stronger, stronger, stronger mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and to
not get weaker. Work on yourself, work on your mind, work on your health, work on your relationships,
work on your family, work on your business, work on your bank account, work on everything
harder than you ever have.
It's not a time to slow down.
Now that we've had time to rest and to decompress,
we've been quarantined for a week
or whatever it is to be quarantined,
now's the time to put the pedal to the metal,
to work your ass off and to build something
that you've always wanted to build over your entire life.
So that's what I got for you for today's episode.
If you love this episode,
please share it with someone that you know and love.
And I'm gonna leave it the same way
I leave you every single episode.
Make it your mission.
Make someone else's day better.
I appreciate you.
And I hope that you have an amazing day.
