I was like, man, I've talked about it before, but I just don't know if people understand the importance of clarity. Like what the hell do you want in your life? And have you written it
Starting point is 00:02:48 down on a piece of paper what you want in your life? What do you want in your family? What do you want in your relationship with your children? What do you want in your relationship with your spouse? What do you want in your career? What do you want in your bank account? What do you want in your friendships? What do you want in your relationships? What kind of house do you want in your bank account? What do you want in your friendships? What do you want in your relationships? What kind of house do you want? What cars do you want? What clothes do you want? What spirituality do you want?
Starting point is 00:03:12 How much peace do you want? Have you ever sat down with a fricking pen and paper and written it down? Because I know most of you out there haven't done it. And you've heard me say it. And there's so much power in taking a pen and paper, not your computer, not your phone, not your iPad, not your tablet, whatever it is. There's so much power in taking a pen and paper and saying, what the hell do I want in my life? I want this. I want this. I want this. I want this. And you get, you don't just write it down and say, I want to lose weight. You get very, very, very clear. What exactly do you want?
Starting point is 00:03:50 Not I want to lose weight, but I want to lose 12 pounds and weigh 185 pounds. Not I want to be healthier, but this is what I want to eat. I want to eat this. I want to give up this. I want to stop drinking alcohol. I want to do this, this, this, this, like just, it's just like, if you could see my face about how I probably look like I'm about to explode. It drives me crazy of how freaking close you are to greatness. It drives me crazy of how freaking close everybody is to greatness. And the simplest way to start is to sit down with a freaking pen and paper and ask yourself, what the hell do I want in my life? And how do I make a plan? You'll make spreadsheets for your job. You'll do
Starting point is 00:04:26 all of these spreadsheets that you hate doing. You'll send these stupid emails that you hate sending, but you won't sit down with a pen and paper and plan your life. Like there's got to be a time where you do it because it's either you plan your life and you start to ask yourself what you want. You go on that path or you just stay in the exact same place. When you get into your car and you put in the GPS where your destination is, your GPS will get you there. But have you put in the destination of your life? Have you? Really? Like if you're listening to me and you're at home, you're not driving your car, just turn me off and just get a pen and paper. I don't even care anymore. Just turn me off and start planning your life. Plan the person that you need to be. So you figure out what you want, right? You ask yourself,
Starting point is 00:05:10 what do I want? And you figure that out. And then you say, who do I need to be in order to get what I want? Because if you were the person that could attain all of those things, you would already have all those things. So what that means is that in order to, because I've said it before, people are always focused on what they need to do to get the life that they want. And that's the wrong way of looking at it. It's who you need to be in order to get what you want. Who do you need to be? Which means, who do I need to become in order to get that life that I want. You have to plan out the life that you want. And then after you do that, you look at it and you say, I need to plan out the person that I need to be to get that life that I want. Now here's the secret sauce. When you're planning out what you
Starting point is 00:05:58 want, can you honestly sit down with that pen and paper and sit there with no restrictions, Sit down with that pen and paper and sit there with no restrictions. Sit there as if you're four years old again and everything is possible. Not the restrictions that the universe has given you, you know, because the universe doesn't put restrictions on you. It's the restrictions that your parents have given you, that society has given you, that your spouse has given you, that all of the breakups and the people that have said negative things to you and advertisements on TV and the bullies, those are the, you're taking other people's ceilings for you and making it your own ceiling. So can you sit down with that pen and paper and not only get clearer, but be completely honest
Starting point is 00:06:37 and your mind's open, your heart's open, and you're sitting down and you're saying, what do I want as if anything is possible? Because anything is possible. Whoever told you it's not is full of it. And I bet you if they told you that anything's not possible, look at where they are now. Are they in the position you want to be? Probably not. And what you have to think about is you need to figure out who you want to listen to. Do you want to listen to their advice?
Starting point is 00:06:59 Do you want to listen to someone else's advice? And here's what you do. You close the gap. And here's what you do when you close the gap. You say, okay, what do I want? Number one, question number two, who do I need to become in order to get there? And number three, and this is why I'm so hardcore on habits because habits are 45% of your life. According to Harvard, what habits do I need to break? And what habits do I need to create in order to become the person that I need to become to then create the life that I need to create? So number one, what do I want?
Starting point is 00:07:36 And you plan it all out. Number two, who do I need to become in order to do that? And in order to create that life. And number three, what habits do I need to create? And what habits do I need to break in order to become that person that gets that life? So you go one, two, three. And then what happens is you go three, two, one. What do I want? Who do I need to become? And then number three is what habits do I need to create? Number three, to become the person I need to become. Number two, to get the life that I want. Number one, so simple, but it's the most
Starting point is 00:08:13 incredible experience that you'll ever have in your life. If you sit down with a pen and paper, remove all restrictions and act like you're four years old again. And then what the deal is, and this is why I'm so hardcore on the Habits 30 Challenge, you know, the Habit Mastery Challenge is then you learn to visualize it and actually make it real in your brain because your brain doesn't know what's real, like actually physical in this world
Starting point is 00:08:38 or what you're visualizing. And that's what I'm gonna be teaching in the Habit Mastery 30 Challenge is how to figure out what you want, how to figure out who you need to become, how to figure out the habits that you need to create, and then visualize that every single day so that you're not working towards that thing. Like I said, you don't need to focus on what you need to do in your outside physical world. You need to focus on the eight inches between your ears and you need to visualize that and you know how to visualize it and you know how to journal it. You need to figure out
Starting point is 00:09:10 how to create the why behind it. That is how you figure out the life that you want and then create it. So that's what I got for you guys today. Starting point is 00:10:18 You put so much time in everyone else so much time in everyone else and what needs to be done with your children What needs to be done with your spouse and what needs to be done with your children? What needs to be done with your spouse? And what needs to be done with your family? And what needs to be done at work? You put so much time into everyone else. Put some freaking time into yourself, please. If I could do one thing to give everybody, you know, if I could, if I had a superpower, people always ask me what my superpower be. My superpower would literally be giving every human self-awareness because if every person had self-awareness, there will be an incredible place, but you have to sit down with pen and paper and meditate on it and journal it and visualize it.
Starting point is 00:10:55 And that's the way that the world will change. If you become the change that you want to see in the world, hashtag Gandhi quote. And I was like, you know, I saw a video of a guy that was buying food for homeless people. We have't really drink. And I was like, you know, I saw a video of a guy that was buying food for homeless people. We have a lot of homeless people here in Austin. And, um, you know, and we were like, you know what, we should do that. So we went down to, to HEB, you know, the grocery store here. I spent like 60 bucks. That was it. Got a ton of bread, got a ton of peanut butter, got a ton of jelly, got a bunch of toothbrushes, got a bunch of, uh,
Starting point is 00:12:04 small toothpaste, got waters, got bananas, got apples. And we make care packages for homeless people. We spent our Friday night by just giving out care packages to people who are homeless. And it was amazing to see their faces. And they're like, God bless you, man. Thank you so much. Because people just, they judge them and they don't care about them. But those people need love. And all I want you to do, and I'm not telling you this because I don't want it to be bragging at all. I'm telling you because I want you to do this for somebody else. Make it your mission day to make somebody else stay better.
