All right, I'll get you the podcast right now.
Welcome to the MWF Motivation Podcast, which I am proud to say has been rated the number one podcast in iTunes new and noteworthy in six different categories, including self-help
and business, and is a podcast designed to help you grow into the best version of yourself
in 10 to 20 minutes.
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we'll take a life topic, break it down, discuss
it, and leave you with thoughts to impact your life and mind. My name is Rob Dial, and
the podcast starts now.
Welcome to today's episode. If you have not yet done so, please subscribe to us however
you listen to us. And also, if you have not yet liked us on Facebook, facebook.com slash MWF motivation
is where I've been putting up daily videos, two to three minute motivational videos
for those of you guys that cannot get enough of just the podcast.
And before we dive into today's episode, I'm going to talk about finally and make the full
announcement for my group coaching.
And a lot of people have signed up for it already.
We already have over 40 members in the group for group coaching.
And if so, you know, the group coaching is going to be ongoing.
It's going to continue going.
But I'll give you an idea of where it came from and the reason why I have the group coaching and I started the group coaching.
So the group coaching itself, I realized that a couple of things.
I realized that I had the free podcast, which I know that at least 6,000 to 8,000 people listen to every single episode
of what my statistics say. Then in the opposite end of the spectrum, I have my one-on-one coaching
clients, which pay upwards of a few thousand dollars a month to have one-on-one time with me.
And I was getting a lot of emails from people saying,
Hey, I want more. Is there anything else that you have? I would really
like to do some one-on-one coaching or something like that with you.
And some people were just, were not able to afford the one-on-one coaching,
but I thought, well, what if I were to try to build a product where I could help as many
listeners as possible really take action in their life? And if you notice these past few episodes,
I've been really adamant on making sure that you take action, that you do what you're supposed to
do, and that we create the life that we want. Not that you just listen to this and then you go on
about your day and do nothing, but that you listen to it, that you grow, that you become better.
And so what I did was I went through every single email I've gotten in the past nine months,
which was hundreds of emails, and tried to find some commonalities between
what everybody was struggling with and to see if I could help everybody overcome specific things. One of the things I noticed the
most is that people were really struggling with having a network and a community of very inspired,
very motivated people and people that would hold them accountable. So what I thought the first
thing I could do is I could build a network of people and I can have a private Facebook group
where everybody could go on. They could inspire each other. They can motivate each other. They could put their goals up.
And they could actually legitimately hold each other accountable to hitting their goals.
Because sometimes you just don't have the right people around you to help you hit your goals.
So I wanted to build that community. And I thought, well, I could also use this as a platform
to teach much, much more advanced stuff than I teach in the podcast. Because the podcast is about 10 minutes, 15 minutes at most.
And I can't teach the very in-depth stuff.
I just taught an extremely in-depth episode to the people and had a video.
There was a 25-minute video on habits, how it works in your brain, specifics,
all of those types of things of how it works in your brain and really just dug in deep.
And then we created a habit challenge where everyone picked their habit and they're going
to do it for the next 30 days and post it so that they can therefore hold themselves
accountable to it and actually start making changes in their life.
That was the thing I wanted to do is help people really make legitimate changes in their
life.
So we have that where it's that community.
But then I also wanted to use it, like I said, to teach a lot more advanced stuff, to have
an open conversation where I'm not
just talking to you in the podcast because you can't answer me back in the podcast, but somebody
can go in this group. They can say, hey, these are the things I'm struggling with. I need your
advice on this. Everybody can give their advice and then I can chime in and give my two cents.
And I'm spending a few hours a day and posting a ton of videos each week into it to try to
help as much as possible because really that's the reason why I'm building it. So we're going to have at least one monthly question and answer session.
And then on top of it, we're going to have a monthly book club. So at the beginning of the
month, we're going to pick the book that we want to read. We're all going to read the book. And at
the end of the month, I'm going to give my full video breakdown to show exactly how I'm going to
use it in my life for the book, but then also
how you can use it in your life as well. And what I'm going to do with that is then give out my
notes in a PDF for everybody to download so they can have, they can keep, they can print it out,
they can do whatever they want to with it. But then they can at least have the Cliff Notes
version to go back and review anytime they want to. More than anything else, if you're curious
about it, go to mwfmotivation.com slash coaching,
mwfmotivation.com slash coaching, or just go to the main page. There's a coaching tab on there.
You can get some more information and sign up if you want to. What I will say is this, I am
so freaking excited about it. I'm a hundred times more excited about the group coaching
because of the fact that I am really passionate about helping people make steps in their lives.
I believe the reason why I was put on this planet is because I can help people realize
their potential and their passion as well, and then help them actually go on the right steps
to do so. So I've created this group coaching to be a much, much more advanced podcast,
version of the podcast. The podcast will always be here. But the group coaching is an evergreen thing. There's no monthly contracts, none of that stuff. It's just month to month. And if you go on it right now,
mwfmotivation.com slash coaching, it is at a discount. So you can get your discount for a
limited time. But with that, I want to dive into today's episode and say that if you do want to
get onto group coaching, I would love to have you on group coaching because I want to help you change your life. And if you don't decide to invest in yourself
with my group coaching, I'm completely cool with it. But invest in yourself every single month in
some sort of way. That's where you're going to make change your life by investing in yourself.
Now, today what we're going to be going over... That being said, today what we're going to be
going over is talking about, you know,
we talked a little bit about regret a couple episodes ago. We talked about hard work. We
talked about those types of things. And I want to share a quote with you. And I want to talk about
what will haunt you when you get older. And this is a quote. I'll explain it to you once I get into
it. But the quote is from Mark Twain. It says, 20 years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones that you did. So throw off the
bow lines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails, explore, dream,
discover. And as you get older, the reason why I wanted to go over this is because this is
something that I, this is one of the reasons why I started my group coaching was because I know that most people have
dreams. They have aspirations. They have things they want to do with their life, but there's
stuff holding them back. And I wanted to start the group coaching in order to help people be a
little bit of the push to activate everybody into taking the first step to their dreams,
be able to be there to support them and help them and all of these things. And as you get older, you're going to find that it's rarely the
things that you did do that will come back to haunt you. More than anything else, the thing
that's going to haunt you the most is the things that you did not do. That's what's going to come
back to haunt you. And I remember when I was contemplating back in 2012, actually back in
2011, when I first was contemplating going on a vacation for three
months and backpacking Europe, I remember reading this quote and I was deciding whether or not to
go. And I saw this quote and with this quote decided 100% the next summer, which is the summer
of 2012, I am in, I'm going to go for three months to Europe. I'm going to backpack. I'm going to go
by myself. I don't know what the hell I'm going to do, but I'm going to have the best time of my
possible life. And it was this quote that made me make my final decision because I didn't want to
get older. I didn't want to be 75 years old and go, you know what? I wish that I would have taken
those three months and traveled to Europe. I wish that I would have been able to do that.
And I made the decision at that
point in time after reading this quote that I was going to quit my job when the summer came around
and I was going to save up as much as I possibly could before then. And I was going to travel to
Europe and it was the most absolutely amazing 84 days of my life. Was it scary because I'd never
been over there and traveled by myself? Hell yeah, it was scary. But that's part of the fun.
That's what life is about. Life is about making was scary. But that's part of the fun. That's what
life is about. Life is about making the scary and the fun stuff, scary fun and also the unknown fun
as well. And as I was preparing, I kept telling everyone, thinking, you know, I kept saying,
I'm going to be going to Europe this summer. I'm going to be in Europe this summer. And everyone
kept saying, what are you going to do? You're going to have to quit your job. And I kept thinking
that people, some of the older people would be like, you know, that's a bad idea. You have a really good paying job. There's no
reason to quit your job. This is back in 2012. So this is only a couple of years into the recession.
And I thought people would be like, that's a terrible idea, Rob. You should just stay with
the good paying job that you have. And for the entire next eight months when I was planning up
to it, everybody that I told not one
Person said to me. That's a bad idea. You shouldn't go
Every single i'm talking like 30 40 older people
That I had been speaking to I told them and not one of them said it was a bad idea
They either said I did it. I traveled to europe. I did that
It was the most amazing thing that i've ever done and I loved it
Or they said, you know what? I wish I would have done that. It was the most amazing thing that I've ever done. And I loved it. Or they said,
you know what? I wish I would have done that when I was younger. So I asked you, what are you on the
fence about? If you're younger, are you contemplating going to college or maybe dropping out of college?
Are you contemplating going to Europe exactly like I did? Are you, if you're older, are you
contemplating, you know, leaving your job or breaking up with somebody
or getting a divorce or moving to a new city that you've never been to before?
Or maybe possibly even starting your own company. Or maybe you just want to ask somebody out,
what is it that you're on the fence about? There's only a couple reasons why somebody
would not go for something that they truly believe and they truly love it. And those things are usually fears. The fear of what others will think,
being judged by other people, the fear of change, the fear of the unknown, the fear of failing,
the fear of success. Those are the things that hold people back. And the problem is, here's the
deal. You only get one life. So stop waiting around for
yours to change. You need to be the one that makes the changes because you're the only one to do it.
You need to be the one that decides that you're going to go on the adventures.
You need to be the one that's going to take control of your life because life is going to
be full of change. It's going to be full of failure and successes and unknowns and judgy
people. That's just the way that it goes. But you don't want to get to the end of your life and regret that you
wish you would have done something because in 20 years from now, you're either going to be super
excited about the fact that you did go for that change or you're going to be depressed about the
fact and regret the fact that you didn't make those changes. Because most people don't do the
things they really want because they're afraid of all of those things. But in the long run,
the only thing that you're really going to regret is not pursuing your desires, not pursuing your dreams, not going and traveling, not asking that person out, not starting your business. All
of those things are the things that you're going to regret. And like the quote implies, the sea
is unpredictable. Life is unpredictable. But if you stay in your safe harbor, nothing will come
of your life. You must make the changes. You must deal with the unknown and successes and the
failures and all of those different things. You must take the risks and do the things that scare
you because those are what create the best memories. The things that scare you are always
the things that make the best memories. Nobody's ever sitting at a bar with their friends saying,
hey, remember that time when we stayed at home and we did nothing?
That was one of the best memories of my life.
Nobody says that.
It's always like, hey, do you remember that one time when this unexpected thing happened?
We almost died, but we had a whole big laugh out of it.
And that's what's exciting about life.
Not sitting at home and not doing anything and not making changes to your life.
It's usually from the risky or the unknown or the scary things.
And so, like I said, the reason why I started my group coaching is because I wanted to be the start of the catalyst for most people to make that change. I know some people listen to
the podcast and then they don't do anything with the information that they have. I know a lot of
people do a ton of stuff. But for people who wanted a little bit extra support, I thought,
hey, I'll start this group coaching. And this is something that could definitely affect people in a great way. And so for you, whatever it is,
20 years from now, you'll be more disappointed by the things that you don't do than the ones
that you did do. So throw off your bow lines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade
winds in your sails, and explore and dream and discover.
So with that, if you are interested in the group coaching, once again, go to mwfmotivation.com slash coaching. There is a special price that is up for the next couple of days
for some of the first few people to get into it. And I am so excited for those of you that
are going to be joining. If you aren't going to be joining, whatever, no big deal. Just make sure
you invest in yourself in some sort of way because that is the most important thing to do
is to invest in yourself. And with that, I'm going to leave you the same way I leave you every single
episode. Make it your mission today to make somebody else's day better. I appreciate you
and I hope that you have an amazing day. Well, that's it for today's podcast. If you want the
