Okay. So speaking of limitations, that's what we're going to be talking about today because
I want to tell you this.
Limitations are optional.
Now, you might think limitations are not optional because you're like, well, no, no, no.
There's definitely limitations, okay?
I want to tell you that limitations are not optional.
I want to tell you a few times in history when people proved that things that were impossible were now possible.
You know, and my favorite is when we were in Cutco back in the day, we used to always talk
about the four minute mile because ultimately the four minute mile is a perfect example of
something that was impossible turning into possible, right? So before 1954, it was thought
that running a mile in under four minutes was beyond human
capability.
It was literally impossible.
Doctors said that your heart would explode if you tried to run in under four minutes.
Well, that was until 1954 when Roger Bannister ran the mile in three minutes, 59.4 seconds. So basically what did he do? He proved that
limitations are ridiculous. He proved that when someone says something is impossible,
it doesn't mean that it is never to be done. It just means that it has never been done.
And the crazy thing about the four minute mile is that within two years, 300 people within two
years had ran a mile in under four minutes. See, once people saw that it was possible,
they stopped limiting themselves. They had the ability to do it that entire time. But once
someone finally had done it, they saw that it was possible and they stopped limiting themselves.
They had been limiting themselves the entire time. They could have been the ones to run the four minute mile the first
time, but they didn't because they thought it was completely impossible. Another example is humans
used to think that flight was impossible, right? That was until the Wright brothers came along.
And now it's literally just normal for us to hop on a plane and go somewhere else. But there was a
time, you know, most of human experience and, you know, human history, it was literally impossible to fly. And then once
somebody started flying, guess what started happening? People started realizing it was
possible, but then they turned it into commercial. Then they turned it into, you know, jets. They
turned out everything. And now it's just easy. It's normal. We all do it all of the time. Me,
I'm always on a plane. You know, people used to think that putting a man in space was impossible. And then the Russians put a man in space in 1961.
Then they said landing on the moon was impossible. And then in 1969, Neil Armstrong proved them
wrong. So you have to realize the crazy thing about it is in 1969, we successfully landed a rocket ship on a rock 2,238,000 miles away that's orbiting the earth
at 2,288 miles per hour and then take off from the moon and land back on the earth safely.
And you can't accomplish your dream. Let me say that again. 1969, they were able to figure out a way to get humans to successfully
land on a rock that was traveling 2,288 miles per hour around the world. For a rock onto a rock
that was 238,000 miles away. And you can't accomplish your dream. That's what you're
trying to tell me, right? So what are the four minute mile, the Wright brothers, the Russians, Neil Armstrong, all of them have in common is that
they were impossible. They were impossible until they were done. So the question I have for you is
this, what is your impossible? What's holding you back from following the life that you really want?
What is the glass ceiling that you're putting on yourself?
What are you telling yourself is not possible and therefore you're not doing it?
See, if you're looking at your past, then you're going to see a lot of things that are
impossible based on your past.
But a lot of things that were impossible based on your past are possible if your future is
different.
If you change your future, if you stop doing the same
things that you do every single day, if you break yourself out of your comfort zones, if you push
yourself to the limits so that therefore you can grow into a new person. That's how you create
the impossible of the past into the possible of the future. You know, you're telling yourself
what is possible and what is not possible. What limits are you placing on yourself that are completely false?
Is it the fear of failure, the fear of success, uncertainty, making a mistake, disappointing
someone else, your loved ones, yourself?
Are you making things up in your head?
Are you taking the safe route because you don't want to be disappointed or you don't
want to be made fun of?
You don't want ridicule.
You want people to judge you.
Are your dreams so high that it paralyzes you thinking of all of the stuff that you need to do?
Are you making up limitations? Are you making up excuses? Are you saying that you don't have
enough money or enough time or that you're too lazy or that you don't have a car? See,
we have near unlimited ability, but we restrict ourselves and our own potential because
of our limitations we put on ourselves, the glass ceilings that don't exist, that we continue to
bump up into all of the time because we just are looking at our past and basing our future based
on our past. We're seeing our past and the things that would be impossible to do in our past and
calling them impossible in our future, not considering how much we grow every single day and how much we are continuing to grow
every single day. So here's what we must do in order to achieve our goals. We must rise above
our limitations. We have to break free from our fears, from our excuses, from everything that we
do that is completely false, all of the limitations that we set on ourselves, then you have to think about it. If we tell ourselves it's impossible,
we must immediately remind ourselves why and how it is possible. It comes down to you.
It always comes down to you and the story that you're telling yourself, the conversation that
you're having inside of your little head, that's what it is.
It all comes down to what you believe.
And your beliefs come down to the story that you're telling yourself in your head every single day.
You are the only thing that is holding you back.
It's not the money.
It's not the past.
It's not your current situation.
It's not the fact that you don't have a car.
It's not the fact that you don't have the right circle or influence. It's you. It's not the government. It's not your parents.
It's not your spouse. It's not your children. It's you. You need to face it. It's always been you.
So if you're not where you want to be right now in this moment, it's because of you. It's not because of anybody else. And once
you become that in tune with keeping yourself that accountable, that's when things start to change
because we need a reprogramming in our minds more than we need anything else.
So I want to leave you with this question. Get a pen and paper real quick.
Get a pen and paper, go run and get it. And ask yourself this
question. What limits am I placing on myself? Write them down. What are the limits that you're
placing on yourself? And then the next question I have for you is what can you do to overcome
those limits? What can you do to overcome those limits? And the last question I have for you
to overcome those limits. And the last question I have for you is what comfort zones do you need to break through right now? Not tomorrow. What comfort zones do you need to start breaking
through right now? Write them all down. Look at them every day. Every time you start to doubt
yourselves, look at those things and ask yourself, what can I do to get past these? What can I do? What is
the strategy? What's the easiest way that I can get past this one thing? Come up with a strategy,
come up with a plan and follow that plan to a T. So therefore you're not limiting yourself anymore.
Therefore you don't have any things that you need to overcome. Because if you can get all
of the crap out of your way that you're putting in your way, guess what? You're like a freight train.
So that's what I want you to think about. How are you limiting yourself?
Let me ask you this question. Jot this down. What is your impossible? What's your thing that's
impossible that you have a pretty good idea you might be able to do it? It's in the back of your
head, but you're like, man, I don't know if I can pull that off. I just don't know if it's possible.
Right? So what
is your impossible? What is the thing that you're not doing that you really want to do because
you're telling yourself it's not possible? And what can you do to create that possible? So that's
what I got for you guys today. Once again, if you're interested in joining on the Iron Mind 60
Challenge and over 300 of us that are in that group. I would love to have you in the
group. I would love to coach you every single day for these 60 days, help you turn into the new
person that you want to be, help you break past your comfort zones, and then have this entire
group of people who are there for you to support you, to hold you accountable, and to honestly just
be a mirror for you to see that it's not just you that's struggling. It'll be me that's struggling.
It'll be them that's struggling. It'll be them that's struggling.
And you can see how they're breaking through their struggles,
how I'm breaking through my struggles.
And it will motivate you and support you to finish.
Because how often do you start something and not finish?
And then you'll feel good about yourself.
How good would you feel if you started this 60-day challenge,
went through all of it with all of us,
with me coaching you, with them supporting you? And what would you feel like on day 61? If you finish, you'd feel amazing. You'd
feel better than you ever have. The most, one of the proudest accomplishments you've ever had. I
bet you that there's so many people that are in this group that know it's going to change their
lives. And I want you to be a part of it. So if you want to join us, go to ironmind60.com.
