Starting point is 00:02:19 We'll talk about it and see if it's right for you. But don't take my word for it. Listen to somebody who's part of the group right here. My name is Amy, and I'd like to give two thumbs up for Rob Dial's group coaching. I have learned to step out of my comfort zone and gain clarity on what's really important in my life. I highly recommend investing in yourself. You will learn so much. I know I have. Welcome. Today, what we're going to be talking about is winners versus losers and how football and every single sport is the perfect analogy for life. Now, I got inspired to do this because of last night's football game, Super Bowl 51. I'm personally not a Patriots fan
Starting point is 00:03:00 or not a Tom Brady fan either, and not up until last night at least, where I watched the Patriots come back from 25 points back. And I realized at that point in time that winning is a mindset. Winning is a habit. And most people, most teams wouldn't have the mindset of, yeah, we can come back when it's 25 points back in the third quarter. But some people just have it in them where it is impossible for them to lose. They will not allow themselves to lose. They will either die trying to win or they'll win. And that's just kind of the way
Starting point is 00:03:36 that some people think about it. And winning is a mindset. Winning is a habit. But you know what also is a habit and a mindset? So is losing. And I feel like most people have a loser's mindset. And I don't mean that, I hope it doesn't come off the wrong way, but what I mean is that most people in that situation would have counted themselves out, would have said, this isn't
Starting point is 00:03:59 for me. We're not good enough to win this game. People would say the exact same thing. This job isn't for me. Running my own business isn't for me. This isn not good enough to win this game. People would say the exact same thing. This job isn't for me. Running my own business isn't for me. This isn't really my passion. And they give up before they get to the finish line, before the bell goes off. Most people would have given up. Winning is a habit. Winning is a mindset. So the question that I have for you is what's your mindset like? If you were in that situation, would you have given up?
Starting point is 00:04:29 Because I feel like that game was the perfect analogy for life. The difference between winners and losers is their mindset when things are not going the way they want them to go. Most people give up before they get to success. Most people give up before the final bell goes off. And you have to realize that once you give up in your head,
Starting point is 00:04:52 the game is already over. And that's what I loved about last night's football game was even though they were down by 25 points, they still didn't give up. They didn't give up until the end of the game. They didn't give up until the final bell went over and they scored the touchdown in overtime. That's when they finally said, okay, now it's over.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Because in their mind, it's not over until it's over. Winning is a habit. Winning is a mindset. Losing is also a habit. Losing is also a mindset. And so the question that I have for you is this. When your back's against the wall, when things start to get hard, when it seems like it's impossible for you to overcome
Starting point is 00:05:34 this insurmountable task that's in front of you, what's your default? Is your default to fight as if you're a caged animal up against the wall and to fight and push and do whatever you can to get out of it? Or is it to just decide to give up? Because the difference between winners and losers is that losers give up. Winners will not give up until they win or until the final bell goes off. That's the difference. And so I want you to ask yourself, do I have the winner's mindset? Do I have the habits of a winner? Do I go and go and go until the final bell goes off? Or do I have a loser's mindset? Do I quit before things go the way I
Starting point is 00:06:21 want them to? Do I quit whenever I get the first little bit of failure or whenever my back's against the wall? Because here's the deal. It's a mindset. It can be switched. If you want to be successful, all you have to do is just not give up. That's it. Your skills will improve. You will gain momentum, but your skills won't improve and you won't gain momentum unless you put the time in that's needed in order to get to success. And so when you think about last night's football game, when you think about that and you watch somebody overcome 25 points behind, they have that sort of belief in themselves.
Starting point is 00:07:09 And here's the deal. You have to have that sort of belief in yourself as well. And it only comes from going out there and starting to push yourself, becoming better, gaining confidence. That's how you become a winner. If you have a loser's mindset now, it doesn't have to be that way forever. You can decide right now that you're going to start making adjustments, that you're not going to give up anymore, that you're not going to allow yourself to quit when things get tough, and that you're going to fight and fight and fight until the final bell rings. Well, that's it for today's podcast. If you want the show notes for this episode, they can be found at MWFmotivation.com.
