What we're gonna be talking about today
is your life is not hard.
If you're listening to my voice right now,
you're probably pretty privileged.
I want you to realize that
no matter where in the world you are,
if you have access to listen to my voice,
you do not have a hard life.
And some of you might be listening.
You're like, screw you.
You don't know what you're talking about.
My past has been hard.
I'm going through terrible things right now.
Things are going off the hinges.
My life's coming apart.
I'm going through a divorce, whatever it might be.
And I understand it might be tough or difficult right now.
But I want you to realize that the words that you use will dictate the way that you view the world. Your life is not hard.
What is hard is this. I'm going to be the kick in the face that you need to listen to sometimes.
Sometimes you need someone to shake you or punch you in the face and just give you a little bit of
a wake-up call. I'm going to
be that person for you right now. Your life is not hard. What is hard is this. What is hard is being
a eight year old boy or girl who lives in Syria and you have to wake up tomorrow morning without
your mom and dad, without your brother and sister, because all of them got killed.
And you don't know what you're going to do. You don't know where your life is going to be.
It's not that you don't know where you're going to be in five years. You don't know if you're
going to be around tomorrow. That is hard. Put your personal life right now, your privileged
life into perspective. Your life is not that hard.
That, what I just said, being that child in Syria is something that is seriously happening right now.
I'm not being political in any sort of way. What I'm trying to do is make you realize
that it is all relative. There's a lot more tough things that are happening.
Your debt or your marriage or your past or your
relationships or your job, all of those things are nothing compared to what some people in the
world are going through. Nothing. Put yourself in perspective sometimes. The way to be successful,
the way to be happy, the way to have a great life is to learn how to be grateful for the
little bit that you do have. Because even if you just have a little bit, if you're hearing my voice
right now, you have more than most people. You at least have something. So is it tough right now?
Yeah, maybe it's a little bit tough. But if you're grateful for the little bit that you do have,
you will eventually get through.
You will eventually be graced with something more. And so stop using the word hard.
Waking up at 6 a.m. in the morning. Don't say that's hard. Making a hundred phone calls,
cold calls. If you're in sales, that's not hard. Knocking on doors. That's not hard.
None of those things are hard. They might strain you mentally a little bit, but those aren't hard. None of those things are hard. They might strain you mentally a little bit, but those aren't
hard. Waking up in Syria and your entire family just got killed and you don't even know if you're
going to be alive at the end of the day. That is hard. Sometimes you need a kick in the face and
I'm okay with being that kick in the face right now to put your life into perspective and make
you realize how grateful you should be and how privileged you
actually are. So what I want to have you do is this. When you get done with this episode,
ask yourself, what am I grateful for? Be grateful for anything, for the small things,
the fact that you're able to listen to my voice right now, which means you have some sort of
internet connection. You're further along than a lot of people are. Be grateful for what you do have
and make it your mission to make somebody else's day better.
