And last but not least, once again, if you guys are interested
Starting point is 00:00:44 in changing your lives, breaking out of your comfort zones, living up to your potential, and finding out who you truly are deep down inside, I think you should join my Iron Mind 60 Challenge. Where over the course of 60 days, myself and a group of motivated individuals, there's already over 270 people
Starting point is 00:01:00 that are in this group right now, are gonna be pushing ourselves to the extreme to find out what we're made of. And, uh, you know, what part of it is the cold showers. It's funny. Cause I get, keep getting people saying like the cold showers. I don't, I don't understand. Everything else sounds pretty great. Except for the cold showers sound terrible. I'm like, yeah, that's the point. Cause cold showers are never fun, right? To do, to become successful, you're going to have to do things you don't want to do. If you wake up in the morning and immediately do something you don't want to do, take a cold shower, it's training for the external world. It's training for your mind.
Starting point is 00:01:33 It's training for, you know, getting past procrastination, for executing instead of, you know, getting paralysis by analysis. That's what it's for. It's not supposed to be easy. It's supposed to be a challenge. That's why it's called a 60 day challenge. We actually had somebody, Carly, inside of the group and she said she had to work, you know, she, I'm reading her comments. She said, I had to work really very late until, I had to work really late last night and wake up at four o'clock in the morning this morning. I stood outside the shower for two minutes just talking to myself and preparing mentally because it was so much worse because of the little sleep. But the satisfaction that I felt afterwards as a result of sticking with the
Starting point is 00:02:11 challenge ahead just motivates me so much. But it does take some getting used to. We can do this, everybody. So that gives you a perfect example. It's the little voice inside of your head that says, nah, man, you don't need to do this. You don't need to jump in the cold shower. You don't need to go to the gym today. You don't need to follow that diet. That's what we're trying to conquer. We're trying to get past that little voice so that we can do anything that we want to do. So if you're interested in joining in on the Iron Mind 60 Challenge, if you're tired of where you are, if you feel like you're stuck in comfort zones, you're ready to get out of it, go to ironmind60.com. I-R-O-N-M-I-N-D-6-0.com.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Join us. I would love to have you in there. We start on the 24th and doors lock on the 24th and nobody will be able to join after that date. So today we're going to be talking about your mind being a plastic bag. You may have heard me mention this very briefly, but I want to talk about this for a second because I keep using this analogy. You know, this is an analogy we always use when I was first a manager. We would talk about how the mind was like a plastic bag.
Starting point is 00:03:15 And what that means exactly is that the more that you pull yourself, the more that you pull yourself in other directions, you grow, you read more books, you go to different conferences, you meet new people, you take different routes to work, you always do something differently, you push yourself. You know, if you went into the gym and you were lifting 20 pounds in each arm, you go into the gym next time, you lift 25 pounds, and then 30 and 35. You're constantly pushing yourself and pushing yourself and pushing yourself. And if you've ever tried to pull a plastic bag away a little bit, you're not trying to break it, but you just try to pull it. Once you pull it, the plastic bag will never go back to the same
Starting point is 00:03:54 size that it was. That's exactly how your mind is, right? Your mind is exactly like a plastic bag. Once you expand yourself to a certain capacity, you will never go back to the capacity which you were before, right? And I want to give you an example. You know, if you think about five years ago, where were you five years ago? Just think about it for a second. What did your life look like? How much money were you making? What kind of stuff were you doing in your life? What did you accomplish? Could the person that you were five years ago be able to handle the life that you have now? Could they handle the stress, the success, the ups and downs, the money in your bank account? Or have you grown so much
Starting point is 00:04:39 over the past five years that you're now a completely different person that can handle more, right? First off, if you are the exact same person, well, then it's time for you to start making a change. But if you're not the same person, the reason why is because you have expanded your comfort zone. You have like a plastic bag grown yourself to be more than you were five years ago, right? And if you look at everything in the universe, it's constantly growing. If you look at the universe itself, it's constantly growing. If you look at the trees, they're growing. And even when they don't grow taller, they still grow new leaves. Everything in this universe is expanding. Nothing wants to be
Starting point is 00:05:23 stagnant in this universe. So why should we be any different? Shouldn't we want to grow and improve? We do want to grow and improve, but sometimes we just get stuck and we don't grow and improve. So the point of your life is to be like the universe and everything else in the universe for constant expansion. You know, it's like the Japanese phrase kaizen, K-A-I-Z-E-N. Kaizen basically means constant, never-ending improvement. That's what we're trying to work towards, right? Are you on the mission of constant, never-ending improvement? Or are you just listening to the podcast and not getting off your butt and doing what you need to do, right? Listen, I love that you listen to the podcast, but if you're not taking action, turn off the podcast and start taking
Starting point is 00:06:11 action because your life is not going to change. Like I said in the last episode, it's never about what you need to do in the external world. It's who you need to become. Well, if you think of yourself as that plastic bag, you need to constantly be putting more strain on yourself. You need to put yourself in uncomfortable situations. You need to be comfortable being uncomfortable. You need to think of your life this way. You need to think of yourself as a plastic bag.
Starting point is 00:06:37 Because if you take a plastic bag, you know, if I were to fill up a plastic bag with water right now, you know, measure exactly how much water that is, drain it all out, and then pull the plastic bag and then add more water to it. That plastic bag will now be able to hold more water. That's what you're trying to do. The same way that you're not the same person that you were five years ago, you now are able to hold more just like that plastic bag. The point of challenging yourself, the point of pushing yourself, the point of doing this, going to the extreme, is that you're trying to be able to hold more water, to be able to hold more stress, to be able to, and what I mean by hold more stress, is to have more stress come on to you and to put, you know, just brush it off.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Not a big deal. To be able to handle the stress, to be able to handle the money, the success, the financial gains, the love that you'll have coming in, the happiness, the joy, whatever it is. We want to have more space inside of our minds for more of those things. That's the point of being a plastic bag. And the great part about it is your plastic bag will never break. It will just continue to grow over and over and over again, and what I always like to say to people is, you know, say that I gave myself 40 hours to get work done, and I gave Elon Musk 40 hours to get work done. Who do you think is going to get more done? Obviously, it's going to be Elon Musk, and the reason why is just because of the fact that he has learned ways to expand himself past the capacity that I have. He's 20 years older than me, 20 something years older than me, maybe.
Starting point is 00:08:10 Not really sure how old he is. But what I do know is that he has been able to, if we were two plastic bags, he would be a plastic bag that was able to hold more. It's not saying that I can't get to the same size as his plastic bag, if I'm using that analogy. But what it means is that he's just pushed himself more for a longer period of time. If I want to get to his level, I need to push myself more for a longer period of time. So the question that I have for you that I want you to think about is this question. And I want you to jot it down if you have time and journal through it. Go through it. The question is this, what am I resisting that I should be taking action on? Okay, think about that.
Starting point is 00:09:00 What am I resisting that I should be taking action on? I guarantee whatever it is that you're resisting is probably one of the most important things you need to do. And you know that. And subconsciously, your subconscious knows that and goes, ah, let's hold him back. Let's hold her back from that. So what is it that you need to take action on? Figure that out and take action today. So that's what I got for you guys today. Once again, if you want to join in on the Iron Mind Challenge, if you want to expand your capacity exactly like I'm saying in this episode, go ahead to ironmind60.com, I-R-O-N-M-I-N-D 60.com. Join us. Once again, there's hundreds of people already in this group. It's amazing. The support system is there. The lessons, the very first lesson is actually happening. If you listen to this episode, the day it comes out, the very first lesson
Starting point is 00:09:44 is coming out today. So I'm doing over two hours of video lessons inside of the group, prepping them before the actual challenge starts. So I'm giving them prep to make sure that when the challenge starts, they have a headstart and they're already, you know, cranking. Their mindset is already good. They've been taking notes. They've learned how to journal. They've learned how to visualize. They've learned how to create their mission statement and their why. So by the time June 24th hits, day one hits, they're off to the races. So if you want to join, go to ironmind60.com.
Starting point is 00:10:13 I'd love for you to be a part of it.
