Welcome to the Mindset and Motivation Podcast, one of the top motivational podcasts in the
world.
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we come out with a short, to the point, no BS episode
to help make massive changes in your mind and transform you from who you are now to
who you want to be.
My name is Rob Dial, and the podcast starts now.
Welcome to today's episode. If you have not yet done so, please subscribe to us,
however you listen to us. But today what we're going to be talking about is small
adjustments. And I get questions all the time of people asking me, when is the right time to give
up? I've been in my business for so long and I've done everything that I can and I've put all of my
time and money and energy into it. When is the right time to give up? I'm not seeing success.
Should I quit? And then people
say the same things with the relationships. This person's not the way that I want them to be. I've
been in this relationship for so long and everything that I'm doing is into them. They're
not giving it back to me or they don't treat me the way that I want or they don't spend enough
time with me, whatever it might be. And I want to tell you this. Sometimes it's not necessarily what you're doing is wrong,
or that things are wrong, or that everything's going wrong. It might be sometimes that you just
need small, tiny little tweaks to what you do. Small adjustments in everything that you do.
So for instance, if I say this, if I say the dog bit Johnny, and then I say Johnny bit the dog,
it's the exact same words,
but it's a different experience for Johnny more than anything else. It's different. It's different syntax. The dog bit Johnny, Johnny bit the dog. Same exact words, but it's a completely different
experience. It's the exact same thing if you think about a phone number. You can have the right phone
number. You can have the right digits, but you're only going to get a hold of that one person that you're trying to get a hold of if you put the right digits in order the
way they need to be in order. You can't call those digits, but in the wrong order and expect to get
to the person that you're trying to get a hold of. And sometimes this is the same thing with
businesses and with relationships and fitness and with your mindset, your business that you've been
in or that you
want to start or the company that you work for, you might not see success, whatever it might be.
It might not be that you're doing the wrong things or that you're in the wrong business
or that you're in the wrong relationship or any of these things. It might be that the things you're
doing are right. They're just not necessarily in the right experience. You might need just a little
bit of an adjustment here and a little bit of an adjustment there and everything can completely change. With your
fitness, it's the exact same thing. Sometimes people, you know, they say, there's no way I can
get fit. I've tried all of these different things. I've had these programs, but they don't realize
sometimes it's just a small adjustment. Sometimes you might read something in a diet that you're
looking at and you've seen so
much, so many people just had so much great results with this certain diet.
And you might try it to a T, but it might not work for you exactly the same.
There might be small adjustments needed because your body is not exactly the same as someone
else's body.
A certain workout might not work exactly the same because your body is not the same as
everybody else's body.
There's different workouts.
I know, for instance, me, if I were to go myself and my best friend, Dean, if we were
to go to the gym, we could do the exact same workout.
And I'm not a big person that sweats a lot unless I'm really, it's a super intense one,
but he could be sweating within the first exercise.
And the reason why is because my body reacts to that workout
different than his body reacts to that workout. So if you're not seeing results, it might not
necessarily be what you're doing. It might be how you're doing it. Maybe with your fitness,
it might be that you need to do cardio at the beginning of your workout. Sometimes for some
people, it might be cardio at the end of the workout. It might not be that you need to do
slow, intense workouts. It might be that you need to do high-intensity interval training.
All of these different adjustments that can be made that can really just make a difference.
With your diet, it might be that you need to eat fruits and vegetables in the morning. It might be
that you can't eat fruits and vegetables in the morning. That would require a nutritionist. And
some people don't even think that far into nutrition where nutritionists, they can get blood samples, all of these different
things and say, this is what you need to eat in order to make changes because your cholesterol
might be this. Sometimes just tiny little things. Your business is the exact same way.
Maybe you're doing the right things in your business, but you need to do a little bit more
here and a little bit less in this area. Maybe you need to put more money into advertising and take a little bit of money off of
whatever you might be putting money in as well. So there's little tiny adjustments. It might not
be that you're doing the wrong things. It might be that you're doing the right things, but you're
just not doing the correct amount or you're not doing them in the right order like a phone number
would be. Relationships are the exact same way. It might be that just little tiny adjustments could make your relationship so much better. It's anything
you could possibly think of, just little tiny things that you could do. Maybe guys, if you're
seeing that your relationship isn't going as well as you want to, maybe you start seeing if you need
to go on more dates more often. Or maybe you just take your girlfriend out to happy hour once a week
or you take her to the movies once a week or once every two weeks. And just
that, you know, if she's someone who likes to spend time together, like for me, spending time
is actually one of the top things of my five love languages is just quality time. Your girlfriend
might be the same way. And it might be that you haven't been, you know, spending the quality time
in her mind. There's a lot of different things that this could really relate to. Most of stuff that happens in your life, just tiny adjustments make that big difference.
And Tony Robbins talks about it. When we were at the Tony Robbins conference,
Unleash the Power Within, he talks about the two millimeter difference. He actually coaches the
number one plastic surgeon in the world. And he was looking through this book of people that he
made adjustments to. And what he said is he never makes more than seven adjustments to somebody's
face. And he never, ever makes more than a two millimeter adjustment. So the two millimeter
adjustment could go from someone being butt ugly to one of the best looking people you've ever seen
in your life. And he knows mathematically and basically scientifically what exactly needs to
be changed
by looking at someone's face.
He's done it for so long.
The Sultan of Brunei paid him $2 million to fly out and do two people surgery.
So it gives you an idea for someone like that.
He never makes more than seven adjustments and he never makes more than a two millimeter
adjustment to someone's face.
Two millimeters.
If you think about the same thing in golf, you could hit a golf ball,
the exact same ball, the exact same way almost, but just two millimeter difference. And that two millimeter difference could be the difference between going straight down the line
and being a perfect shot. Or that two millimeter difference could be the difference of you
launching it off into the bushes and it's only two millimeters. So what it means is the small
adjustments in the beginning of that shot make the huge difference in where that's going to end. The small adjustments in your
business, in your relationships, in your fitness, in your mindset, in every single thing that you
do, the small little tiny adjustments are what make the huge difference. It's usually not some
big change that needs to happen. It's usually just you evaluating what you do and what needs to
change and see what type of tiny changes you can make. So I want you to think about that. And my
challenge for you at the end of this episode is to ask yourself whatever it is, whatever that
you're trying to work with, whether it's your business or relationship or your fitness or your
mindset, whatever it is, ask yourself, what are the tiny adjustments that I need to make?
your fitness or your mindset, whatever it is, ask yourself, what are the tiny adjustments that I need to make? Don't think about what I need to do to completely change this business. What are the
tiny adjustments I can make in my business or in my relationship or in my mindset or my fitness
that could make a huge difference down the line? Small little adjustments. What are the small
little adjustments I can make to make a huge difference in the end? Just like the golf ball,
two millimeters just in the beginning can make a huge difference in the end? Just like the golf ball, two millimeters just in the beginning can make a huge difference in the
end of where that golf ball ends. So that's the question for you. Find out where you need to make
the tiny little adjustments. And with those adjustments, it'll become a huge, huge difference
in the end result. So with that, I want to leave you the same way I leave you every single episode.
Make it your mission today to make somebody else's day better. I appreciate you and I hope that you have an
amazing day. And if you liked this episode, please share it with someone that you think
would be able to get something from it as well. All right. Have a great day.
