Welcome to today's episode of the Mindset Mentor Podcast. I'm your host, Rob Dial. And

1-512-580-9305. Today, we're going to be talking about how to create your future in every single
moment that you have. And first off, I want to ask you this question, and I want you to think
of it this way. Everything that I talk about today, I want you to filter through what channel are you tuning into. So, you know, imagine if you go and, you know, you're an old school
radio. You walk up to that radio and you're on FM and you go ahead and turn the dial, the old school
ones, right? You turn the dial and you go to 98.7 FM. You're going to only get 98.7 FM. You're not going to get, you know, 3.20 AM if you're tuned
in to 98.7 FM, obviously. So if you think about it that way, the question I have for you is what
channel are you tuning yourself into every single day? With everything that you do, what channel are
you tuning yourself into? And I'll give you a good example of what I mean
by this simple example. You ever been alone in your house and it's kind of dark and you think
to yourself, oh man, I hope nobody breaks into my house. It's kind of late. And you hear a little
bit of a noise and you can feel like the shivers go up your spine. Well, it's because you're
literally tuned into the station of what if somebody's inside the house and that tuning into the station
scares the shit out of you whenever you hear a noise or if you've ever like seen a spider before
and then after you see the spider you start feeling the feels all over your your neck you
feel the hairs on your neck you feel the hairs on your arm as if there's something crawling on you
or you know if you're hungry then you start noticing all of the different foods around the
house to eat it's because you're tuned in to a specific station you're hungry, then you start noticing all of the different foods around the house to eat.
It's because you're tuned in to a specific station. You're tuned into the, there might
be somebody in the house station. You're tuned into the spider station. You're tuned into the
hungry station. And so you have to ask yourself the question throughout the entire day,
what am I tuning myself into? Am I tuning myself into fear? If I'm stressed the entire day,
what am I tuning myself into? And am I tuning myself into fear if I'm stressed the entire day? What am I tuning myself into?
Am I tuning myself into stressful thoughts? Am I tuning myself into what's not going right in my life? Am I tuning myself into all of the things that could possibly go wrong in my day? Well,
of course that shit is stressful because you're literally tuned into the stress station.
Think about that for a second. If you wake up in the morning,
I'll be honest with you guys, I feel stressed when I wake up in the morning. I feel anxious as soon as I wake up in the morning. That's when your cortisol, which is your stress hormone,
is actually at the highest. And it's a fact. The human stress hormone is the highest as soon as
you wake up in the morning. So if you feel a little bit anxious or if you feel stressed out
when you wake up in the morning, congratulations, you're a human. That's actually usually what wakes humans up in the morning is cortisol. So if you have to ask
yourself the question, if you feel stressed in the morning and then you go and you chug a coffee
first thing in the morning, do you think that's going to help you? Or do you think that's going
to tune you more into the stress feeling? That's going to tune you more into the stress feeling,
right? And then if you wake up and you immediately go onto Instagram and start seeing the post about all of the other shit that's happening in the world,
is that going to help you tune out of the stress station? No, it's going to help you tune into it.
And so you've got to start asking yourself the question, how do I feel throughout the day? Do I
feel stressed out throughout the day? If I do, are there certain things that I might be doing
throughout the day, maybe unconsciously
right now that I can bring into my conscious mind that are helping me tune in to a stressful
station?
You know, if you're chugging coffee when you feel stressed out in the morning, it's not
going to help you feel any better.
You know, if you decide that you want to go ahead and go on Instagram as soon as you wake
up in the morning, you see people's reels who are talking about all the crap that's
happening in the world right now.
Is that going to help you get out of the stress station?
I don't think so.
I'll give you a tip.
Just side note, start unfollowing all the people that make you feel a certain way.
Like I have some friends that are pretty decent friends that I unfollowed on Instagram because
I realized that they make me feel stressed out.
They start talking about all the things that's happening in the world and all of the bad
and all of the things that, you know, that's going on. And they're on both sides. They're on the left
side. They're on the right side. Some people are talking about how the government's sending us down
the shitter. Some other people are talking about how people need to have more vaccines and masks.
And it's both sides. And I'm just like, you know what? I don't feel good when I look at these
people's stories. So guess what I'm going to do? I'm going to unfollow them. I just don't want to see their stuff anymore because they
tune me into the stress station. So if that's an example, are you tuning into the stress station
too much? What about fear? Are you tuning into your fear station too much? Because you have
something called the reticular activating system in your brain. The reticular activating system
is the filter of your brain. It's the reason why you don't see a car before you buy it.
And then after you buy the car, you literally see it everywhere is because it now exists in
your brain, your reticular activating system. If you're like, you know, you never bought a truck
before, before I ever bought a truck, Ford F-150 Raptor, never saw it anywhere. Now I literally see
like 10 a day, 15 a day. And I'm like, damn, I'm not as cool as I thought I was. Right? Because it lives in my reticular activating system. Now
your reticular activating system takes 2 trillion bits of information and filters it down into 200
bits of information. So it literally filters out almost the entire 2 trillion bits of information
that your brain could take in. And it only brings in what you're focusing on. That's why they say
what you focus on expands is because whatever you focus on, you're going to get more of.
So if you focus on that stress in the morning, you're going to get more of it. If you focus on
that fear in the morning, guess what you're going to find? More things to be fearful for. So it's
like I have friends whose moms are hardcore into everything that's happening right now. And they
text them, this thing is
happening and this thing is happening. And it's terrible news and terrible news and terrible news.
And they think they're doing it out of love. Their mother thinks they're doing it out of love,
but in reality, they're doing it out of fear, which then makes their child feel fearful
throughout the entire day. And I'm like, listen, you need to text your mom and be like, stop sending
me this shit, mom, because it's making me feel bad throughout the entire day. Took a while,
but one of my friends did it and they feel so much better because their mom is not tuning them in to the fearful
station. So what station or how do you feel throughout the entire day? Do you feel happy?
Do you feel grateful? Do you feel stressed? Do you feel fearful? Well, you have to realize what you
feel the most is the station that you're tuning yourself into. And you might, like I said,
be unconsciously tuning yourself into it. But now that you're aware of it, can you start thinking around you,
oh my gosh, yeah, I am starting to do these things. I was doing it unconsciously. Maybe
I should try something different. If you watch the news, you'll think that the world is imploding.
It looks terrible if you watch the news. If you see protests that are happening around the world, you'll think,
oh my God, everything is crumbling around us. But if you go into nature and you literally just go
for a walk in nature, you realize that nature is the same as it's been your entire life.
If you believe that the world is going to shit, then you will see all of the ways the world is
going to shit around you. It's everywhere to
make you feel like that. Here's a crazy thing. I was listening to Bob Dylan and it was a song that
he wrote in the sixties and it was about how bad, uh, and it was the song. If you want to listen to
it, it's called the master. It's called masters of war. It's one of the best songs in my opinion,
it's ever been written. But one of the lines is from the sixties and this is during the Vietnam
war. And he says, make me fear something on the lines of make the 60s, and this is during the Vietnam War. And he says,
make me fear. Some of the lines of make me afraid to bring children into the world.
This is 50, almost 60 years ago. He wrote a line that said, fear of bringing children into the
world. 60 years ago. And guess what? We're still around. That's a beautiful thing. So if you think
that the world is going to shit and that everything're going to hell in a handbasket,
it'll look like it.
And so you have to ask yourself,
am I tuning into the world is going to shit station?
If you're hopeful for the future,
then all you're going to see
is all of the great changes that the world is making.
You'll see and think, oh man, the world is getting better.
If you look at those things and you could go,
okay, well, if I want to tune into
a different station, what station do I want to tune into? You know what I want to tune into?
I want to turn into a gratitude station. That sounds pretty freaking amazing, doesn't it?
I want to wake up and instead of being fearful, instead of being stressed, instead of thinking
the world is going to shit, I want to wake up and I want to tune my station to gratitude.

One of the things that I have found for me personally that helps me not fear if I feel
fearful, if I feel stressed, is just to sit for a second and just close my eyes and say,
thank you. Thank you for my life. Thank you for the
people around me. Thank you for the opportunities. Thank you for the challenges. Thank you for
everything that I've been given and everything that I will get. And it just tunes me in, takes
me out of fear because you can't be in fear and gratitude in the exact same time. You can get
yourself out of fear and stress by going into gratitude and thinking about all the amazing
things that are around you because you can live your life one of two ways. You can live your life
with a victim mentality, which is everything that's happening in the world is happening to me.
Oh my gosh, it's happening to me. Oh my gosh, the world's going to shit. Oh my gosh, things are
going so bad. That's a victim's mentality. And you can live that way if you want to. It's your choice.
Or you can live your life with a champion's mentality, which is everything that's happening in this world is literally happening for me. Because
you're literally creating the reality that you live in. The question is, are you living in the
reality that you want to live in? Life is all about what you focus on. You will find what you
focus on. 100%. It's why if you get going to a relationship and you're like, oh my gosh,
why do I always find
men who are cheaters? You're going to find all of the reasons why you date men who are cheaters and
why all men are cheaters. You're going to find that. Whatever you ask of it, you will get.
Seek and you shall find. These things have been written about for thousands of years, everybody.
This isn't like new stuff. It's been written about in the best books in the world that whatever you
focus on, you're going to get. The phrase abracadabra, which I said about a couple of months ago in,
in, uh, one of the episodes that I did abracadabra is not just some word that people say when they're
magicians and they're like, boom, look, there's a rabbit. It came out of the hat. That's not what
abracadabra means. Abracadabra is an ancient Hebrew word that says, as I speak, I create
the words that I speak. words that I speak, everything that
I say, everything that I see creates, everything that I think creates the reality around me.
I'm literally creating the reality around me. You create your reality. So if you look around
and you hate your current life, you have created it. First thing you need to do is you need to
become aware that you have created it. You need to accept, yes, I'm the one that created it. I
can no longer blame anybody else around me. If you're looking at your life and you're like, it's okay.
It's not terrible. It's all right. I've got an okay job. I don't hate the people I work with,
but I don't enjoy it. It's not like my passion. Well, you created that life, which means you can
create a different life. You can create a new one at any point in time. What do you want?
And here's what you have to do.
You have to become very clear on what it is that you want. That's one of the things that people
are not clear on. They're very unclear of what they want. You need to know in detail what you
want and you need to start focusing on that exact same thing. We're going through with my team right
now, we're going through a pretty big part of growth right now. And one thing that we're doing
every single morning is we're saying, hey, when you hit your goal of X, Y, Z, what are you going to get for yourself? What's the prize
you're going to get for yourself? We talk about it every single morning. We make them share pictures
of that thing every single morning. We're bringing it into the reticular activating system. We're
bringing it into the reticular activating system. We're bringing it into the reticular activating
system because eventually if you bring it in enough and you focus on it enough, you will have it in your life. It's just the way that it goes.
So we're trying to actually set the reticular activating system every single morning. Are you
setting your reticular activating system every single morning? Do you want to feel more love
and peace and joy? Are you turning into that fucking station or are you turning into the
doom and gloom station? You can't think that you're going to tune into the doom and gloom station and feel peace and love
and beautiful when you're looking at the news, when you're looking at your friend's stories or
sharing about how terrible things are, when you're looking at all of the different statistics that
show you X, Y, Z that make you realize that we're going to hell in a handbasket. You're not going to
feel, oh man, life is so beautiful when you start looking at those types of things. Do you want more
love and peace in your life? Focus on love and peace. Focus on the people that do love you around you. Focus on the peace
that you can create in your life. Anything that doesn't align with love and peace, get it out of
your damn life. You don't need it anymore. Do you want more happiness? Okay, well, what makes you
happy first off? Do you even know? Anything that doesn't align with love and happiness, get it out of your life.
What I'm saying is not rocket science,
but it takes intention.
And that's the thing that most people don't have.
They don't bring intention into every single day.
They don't bring intention into every single moment.
It's so simple, but it's so profound.
So look around your reality.
Are you fearful?
Okay, well, if I feel fearful throughout the day, is there something that i'm doing or is there multiple things that i'm doing that is
Helping me focus on fear. Am I focusing on stuff to be fearful? Am I scared throughout the day?
You know, do I feel a lot of anxiety throughout the day?
Well, is it possible that I am focusing and tuning myself into an anxiety station? Are
you tuning yourself into an anxiety station? If you are, okay, can you just stop? Can you get rid
of the things that make you anxious? Can you figure out a way to find more peace? What does
a peace station look like? What's a peaceful station look like to you? What is the way that
you can set yourself into that peaceful station? It's not rocket science. It's not that hard, but it takes intention. So if you have
anxiety and you want more peace, okay, what would tune you into that station? If you want more
happiness, what would tune you into that station? One of the things that I love, it's so ridiculously
simple, but it's so amazing. One of my friends, I've shared this story many times in the podcast, but one of my friends was the number 30 employee at Facebook. And he was fired
about six months before they went public. If they would have went public and he would have still
been there, because he was fired, he lost all of his stocks that he had. He would have made about
$180 million if he would have not been fired. Holy crap, right? That's a lot of money. And so he went
into a depression for a little while and he realized that he was in a depression. And so
he decided to get himself out of it. And he asked himself, what's the opposite of depression? The
opposite of depression is happiness. I just want to feel happy throughout the day. And so he made
a list of every single thing that made him happy. Big things, small things, it could be puppies,
whatever it was. And he would wake up every single morning and he will look at the list of everything that he had written down that made
him happy. And then he looked at his schedule for the week and he said, okay, for today,
how can I bring as many of these things that make me happy into my day? Okay, well, you know,
I can go over to my friend's house who has a puppy. Okay, I'm going to do that at six o'clock
when I get done with work. And what he did was he intentionally tuned himself in to a happiness station. And guess what happened? Slowly but
surely, he got himself out of his depression. He got himself out of his depression, got himself
out of his depression. He now runs a company that does millions of dollars per year. He's the founder
and CEO of the company. I don't think he would have been in that situation had he never intentionally
founder and CEO of the company. I don't think he would have been in that situation had he never intentionally tuned himself into a happiness station. But what does it mean? It means that
it took intention for him to get out of that state every single day to make himself happy.
You know, when you look around you, do the people around you support you in creating the future that
you want? If you want to feel less stressed, if you want to feel less fearful, look at the people around you. Do they help you with that or do they push you back into
stress and fear? If you look around you, does your environment support you in creating the future
that you want? If you want to feel abundant every single day and every single moment, does your
environment support you in feeling abundant? Does your environment feel scarce? What would make you
feel more abundance?
How can you step into that frequency of abundance? You know, maybe go test drive the car that you want. Go drive through the neighborhoods that you want to live in. How can you step into that
feeling and tune yourself in to the frequency of abundance the same way that you would tune
yourself in to a radio station? Does your morning routine support the future that you want to create?
Is there intention in that morning routine? You know, if you want to feel that love and peace,
are you meditating every single morning? Are you journaling about what you're grateful for?
Are you saying thank you every single moment that you possibly can to tune yourself into love
and peace and joy and gratitude? Does your morning routine support it?
Do your standards support that? Do your standards support that?
Does your standards support the future that you want to create? Think about this. These are all
simple questions, but they're very important. What in your life is tuning you into the station
that you're getting the most? And if you're not on the station that you want to be, if you want
to feel different throughout the day, throughout the week, how can you figure out number one, what you don't want to feel anymore, number two, what you do want to feel,
and number three, what actions, routines, and standards would tune you into the station that
you want. It's not hard. It's very simple, but it's very profound and it takes intention. So
you have to realize in order for you to get the life that you want, you're going to have to start focusing on something different than you've been focusing on to get you to where
you are. So what is it that you need to focus on to get the life that you want to create the future
that you want? Because that is what's going to tune you into the frequency the same way that you
tune a car to its radio. So that's what I got for you for today's episode. If you love this episode
