Starting point is 00:00:11 Hello, common folks and haybors. Welcome to the Public Figures podcast. We are public figures. Your ordinary citizens, the general public. We're here with Celebrity Dusty Slay. Okay. Thank you. Celebrity, Aaron Weber.
Starting point is 00:00:29 Good morning, plebes. Thanks for listening. And I'm Celebrity Brian Bates. But you guys know that because we're celebrities, right? No introduction needed. Well, public figures, you know. I've always, you know, you guys. When I said public figures originally, you guys really came for me.
Starting point is 00:00:45 Yeah. As if I said celebrity. Mm-hmm. But I said public figure. Mm-hmm. But you were telling a story about, oh, it's so hard to get recognized in public all the time and stuff, weren't you? I don't think so. I don't think you were either.
Starting point is 00:00:58 No, he was telling a story about someone coming after me. He's like, well, as a public figure, you got to accept that people are going to come after you. But I will say I flew. I didn't feel great this weekend. And I flew somewhere. Mm-hmm. and I got recognized a couple of times. It's harder when you don't feel good.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Yeah. Because you're like still want to be friendly, but you're also like, I might throw up. Yeah. Your wave only comes up half the way. Yeah. Hey. Yeah. I thought you're going to say it made you feel better.
Starting point is 00:01:29 No, I mean, it always feels good, you know, to get recognized, especially if you don't feel good, you might be like, I don't know. I was just sitting there and I was like, oh, gosh, I feel bad. And then these guys come over and they go, hey, hey, Hey. Yeah. And they started talking to me. But then they weren't like getting to it.
Starting point is 00:01:46 You know what I mean? Like they weren't like they kept going. Yeah, we saw you over there and we thought, I bet that's him. And they kept doing it. And I go, yeah, it's me, guys. It's like, what are we doing? What did you want them to get to? Either let's have a conversation about something.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Yeah. Let's take a picture. Yeah. Let's. Wrap it up. You know, anything. But go, we hate, you know, we don't believe in the moon landing either. you know, anything.
Starting point is 00:02:12 Yeah. Yeah. Well, I've been nicer lately, but then people keep messaging me saying, no, we want you to be mean. So, you know, you can't win with people. Yeah. Yeah. You know, they're all idiots. This is all jokes.
Starting point is 00:02:25 It's all jokes. I don't think so. Three comedians. Colonel of truth, but jokes. Yeah, they always say there's a little truth in comedy. Yeah. That's what they say, but is that true? No, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:02:37 No. I don't know if that's true. How many times do you see the comedy do a great joke? joke. Did that really happen? And they're like, nah, it's all completely made up. I don't even have an uncle. They love to say that, though. There's always a little truth in comedy and say, where are you getting that from? People who say that don't do comedy. You know what I like about your comedy, dude? We're all thinking it, but you're saying it. Yeah. That's what I, that's what I like about. You're saying. Yeah, exactly. You say the things we're too scared to say. Yeah. I always say there's a little
Starting point is 00:03:06 truth in our ad reads. Well, there's got to be some truth somewhere. Yeah, of course. Well, welcome, everyone. I'm so excited to you guys are with us for another episode. We couldn't do it without you. We couldn't. Well, Dusty could.
Starting point is 00:03:23 He does every week, his own podcast. Yeah, much smaller audience. And I cannot do it without you. Well, I do it, you know, with a portion of the audience. Yeah. Much smaller version. I'm one of those people. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:34 I listen. But I think if the remove the overlap, I think the fans of your podcast and the fans of this one, If there were a war, I think I'd put my money on yours. Yeah, I think so. The 300. Yeah, they've all got bunkers. Yeah, I think so, yeah. There's a good chance if someone sees you out in public, they're going to know me.
Starting point is 00:03:56 But I guarantee you, if they know me, they're going to know you. Well, that's interesting. But, you know, one time we were, when we were doing the podcast in Atlanta for the breadwinner, Yeah. Remember that lady? yelled out at you. Breakfast! Yes. I came running across the street.
Starting point is 00:04:17 That's true. Didn't acknowledge you at all? It took her a minute. Yeah. She did. Well, you got a subtle look to you. It takes a while. You just blend in, Dustin.
Starting point is 00:04:26 So I could see how she wouldn't recognize you right away. Yeah. Yeah, I really needed that because that was right after the Christian Bell thing. Yeah. And, you know, I needed a little. Oh, it did just happen. I need a little ego boost. And that came in a good time.
Starting point is 00:04:38 Yeah. And you got just a regular person. but she was attractive. Oh, okay, okay. That's debatable. But I mean, Christian Bail's a good looking dude.
Starting point is 00:04:49 Yeah, sure. But she ran across the street. She did. Yeah. Through traffic. She did. That was in a- She got hit by a car.
Starting point is 00:04:57 She's dead now. But that was his last fan that didn't know me. Breakfast, boom. I went to a Vanderbillow football game. It was two seasons ago now. with Nate Bargettsey and Connor Larson, our friend. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:14 You know? Yeah. Three comics. Yeah. Nate, way more famous than me and Connor, right? Yeah, I guess. Especially at a Vanderbilt game. I thought it would be crazy walking around.
Starting point is 00:05:26 We walked to the concession stand and some guy walks up and goes, holy, are you Connor Larson? Wow. And Nate took a picture of them. Wow. Nate goes, I'll get the picture. That's awesome. Took it of him.
Starting point is 00:05:39 I loved it. I've been out with Nate and they've recognized me and not him. Really? They thought you were Mike White. I mean, not recently, but years ago, we were in a movie and at the checkout popcorn line and somebody came up. It's like, hey, I know you from Zanis or whatever. And I'm like, yeah, he does comedy too. And they're like, okay, cool. Good for you, man. Keep it up. Anyway, Brian. Yeah. Yeah. And it happened another time when he was doing theaters. We were walking down the street afterwards and he had a hoodie on. And we walked past some people, people and they acknowledge me. Recognize me. I love that. Didn't realize that was him.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Didn't recognize him dressed as M&M. Yeah. That's what he looked like. Yeah. Well, anyway, good to see you guys. We got to do two fun public events. Sure did. We sure did. Wednesday night, we got to go to premiere of the breadwinter. That's true. That's right. It's true. That was very fun. The first feature film from the Nate Land Production Company. How about that? Sure not to be the last. And it was at theater here in Nashville.
Starting point is 00:06:51 Nate was there, of course, Mandy Moore. The three girls who play his daughters were there. The three guys who a lot of people were saying stole the movie, stole the show, were there. You guys in particular, I really liked your scene because the way it had been. been talked about leading up to it. Yeah. It made it seem like it was going to be nothing. And it was good.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Yeah. I liked it. Well, thank you. Thank you. I think there was a good chance that it could have been nothing. I would have cut it. It really didn't add much to the plot. There was no plot to it at all.
Starting point is 00:07:25 I think it was a fun little Easter act for people. I think it did it. I think it was good. Okay. Thank you. I think it added something. If you go see it, it comes out May 29th. If you go see the breadwin, get to your seat early.
Starting point is 00:07:37 It happens pretty quick. I think a lot of people are going to miss it, getting into their seats. I thought about that too. As the credits are going, but. It is the very opening scene, Jared Curtis, who is the star football player, Gwendo Vandy, Nate, he's in a scene with Nate, and then we're next. Yeah, right after that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Yeah. And that became a little bit of national news. I don't know if you knew that or not about him. About what sign of the video? About him being in the movie. Oh, really? Yeah. Clay Travis, who's a sports writer, among other things, was at the,
Starting point is 00:08:08 the movie premiere, he tweeted it, and then all these outlets picked up the story about Nate putting him in the movie. Okay. All right. Get a little press going. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, go see the movie. It was, it was, it's a great movie to take your family, too. It is. Some very funny moments. I took my five-year-old daughter, who I've never taken to a movie, who I don't like her watching, you know, basically anything. I show her Disney movies, and I'm always like. And your own YouTube. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But I'm always like, ah, I wish this wasn't in there. Why do they have to put this in a Disney movie?
Starting point is 00:08:43 Right. There was nothing like that in this whole entire movie. It was like my daughter loved it. The whole time I didn't feel like, oh, I wish she didn't see this. Not even one small little thing was in there like that. And when we left, my daughter said, can we get this movie at home? That's awesome. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Yeah. And I go, of course not. But not for a while at least. Yeah. But yeah, I mean, she really liked it. And I thought it was exciting because that's the first movie I got to take her to. And you were in it. And I was in it.
Starting point is 00:09:19 And I didn't tell her. And what did she say when she saw you? She said, that's you, Dad. Oh, she recognized you right away? Oh, that's really cool. That's fun. Yeah, very fun. As someone who has a four-year-old, your daughter was so well-behaved.
Starting point is 00:09:31 I mean, at that time, especially my daughter is just a mess because it's close to bedtime. She's wild, but Daisy was so well behaved and I was so impressed with how good she did. Thank you. Yeah, she had a good time. We got her some boots. She had the little sunglasses on. Very cute. Very cute. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Yeah. Yeah. It was a lot of fun. Yeah. But I was home this weekend. So what about what about you? I was in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the Fort Lauderdale Improv. You used to be called Dania Beach Improv. Oh.
Starting point is 00:10:00 And then I don't know why they changed the name, but now it's called the Fort Lauderdale Impro. Okay. As far as I can tell, they changed the logo on the stage, and that's about it. Well, we talked about this a little bit that maybe the name Fort Lauderdale is just a little more recognizable. But you think locals are going to know what Dania Beach is. I'm not against changing the name. I just didn't fully understand why they changed it. I guess that's a good point.
Starting point is 00:10:26 Because I was like, Fort Lauderdale Empire, look at me, moving up, different clubs. And they go, nope. So it's in Dania Beach. It's in Dania Beach. Well, that's probably what they changed. building, same everything. The clubs love to do that. The Toledo Funny Bone is in Perrysburg.
Starting point is 00:10:42 Raleigh Improv is in Carrie. Yeah, they love to, you know, put it in a different town. That's right. So I think that's it. They go, we're actually in Dania, so we should have switched this up, probably. Well, we had a great weekend. We had three shows. Jay Flake was with me.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Big crowds. Just a good time. Just a good time. I went to the beach for maybe 20 minutes. Yeah. shirt on. Every time I'm up, shirt on, shoes, black socks. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Jay and I look. You and Jay, but. We looked weird out there. We did walk around for a while. We were like, we should probably just go on. Yeah. Let's go get lunch somewhere. We walked around.
Starting point is 00:11:20 That's how I always, on the road, if I'm near a beach, I'm always like, I feel like this trip is something of a waste if I don't. I got to go look at the beach. Because I'm not around the beach here in Nashville, right? And here I am. It's almost insulting to the people that don't get to be at the beach right now. Yeah. And so I went out there and you just look at it and you're like, I think that's all I'm going to get out of this.
Starting point is 00:11:44 Just kind of look at it. You know, that's why a cigar is nice. At the end of the night, go sit out on the beach. Just enjoy yourself out there, feel the breeze. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And you don't have to get in the water. That's true.
Starting point is 00:11:56 You can just sit on a chair in the sand or something. Yeah. Maybe next to some people. And they go, oh. Big a circuit. You move? What was your go-to beach growing up? Did you have one?
Starting point is 00:12:12 Probably Dauphin Island. Hot spot. Yeah, in Alabama. How long did that take to get there? Like, we got to drive from Montgomery to Mobile, pick up my grandparents, and then it's like, I don't know. I just meant it in general. Probably five hours. Yeah, probably five.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Like, okay. I thought Montgomery was way on down there. It's pretty far down. But, you know, we made some stops. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, especially with kids and stuff. Where was here? Did you go to the beach growing up?
Starting point is 00:12:40 Panama City. Panama City Beach. Yeah. Boom. PCB. Wow. Yeah. Was it trashy back then or was it kind of? No, not like this. It was more of a family spot in that?
Starting point is 00:12:49 I have a joke now where I say most, all my friends' parents were going to 30A, but we couldn't afford us and we went to 29B. I hadn't heard of 30A until like two years ago. I don't even know what it, did it come out of nowhere? Has it always been? I don't remember it growing up. No, Seaside. Yeah, I mean, about 10 years ago, I started going there, maybe even more than that.
Starting point is 00:13:10 You're a 30-Aga? No, no. We were doing, me and my friends were doing comedy at a theater on Seaside. Okay. So they would book us at the theater and then let us stay with the actors of the Seaside Repertory Theater. Okay. So we would go do comedy there for it. It's in Florida, 30s.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Yeah. Okay. It's where the Truman Show was. filmed. Oh, really? Seaside, yeah. So it's this idyllic little seaside town. But upscale.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Yeah. It's beautiful. It's nice. But honestly, for, you know, for me and, you know, my age bracket, at least at the time, pretty boring. Yeah, I believe. Beautiful beach, but pretty boring. You like it more now, right?
Starting point is 00:13:52 Probably so with my kids. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Guys, let's talk about razors. My old razor was the worst. It would get all way too fast, irritate my skin. On top of that, the price for refills were insane. It would be like $30 for eight refills.
Starting point is 00:14:09 That is insane. Total scam. Yeah. It is a scam. I got a rough, thick beard. Yeah. Can't just have any razor. That's why I switched to Harry's Plus.
Starting point is 00:14:17 And honestly, first shave, I noticed it immediately. Smoother, way more control. Just feels like a premium shave. It's barber quality shave. It's the handle's actual metal. So it's got weight to it. Yeah. The blade glides, no tugging, no clogging like the usual drugstore stuff.
Starting point is 00:14:34 It's got a pivot system that really follows your face. Plus, every cartridge includes a lubricated strip with alloy and vitamin E to calm skin while you shave. Somehow it's cheaper than the big brands. Harry's own their own blade factory, which cuts out the middleman, so you're not overpaying for refills. Why pay $30 for refill when Harry gives you better blades for a fraction of the price? You shouldn't. For a limited time, our listeners can get the Harry's Plus trial. set for only $10 at harries.com slash Nateland.
Starting point is 00:15:08 This set includes the all new harries plus razor, one refined five blade cartridge, a two ounce foaming shave gel, and a travel cover to protect your blades on the go. Just head to harries.com slash natland to claim this offer and after you purchase, they'll ask you where you heard about them. Please support our show and tell them we sent you. Yeah. What about you? Where were you at?
Starting point is 00:15:32 Oh, you know what? I filmed a commercial for the gas station Sheets. Sheets has been hooking it up for me. You know, I did a corporate gig with Sheets several years ago, probably five years ago. It's awesome. And actually, me and Kathleen Madigan did sort of the same corporate gig at Sheets. But yeah, did a Sheets commercial. And I don't know.
Starting point is 00:15:57 No one said I can't talk about it. But they're doing a new campaign. Sheets is a gas station, basically in Virginia, North Carolina. Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania. Yeah. And they're great. And they've been hooking it up. So I flew to Washington, D.C., drove out to Virginia, did a commercial. It's great. What, what's the, are you just a guy in a gas station or something? We're doing some comedy, doing standout. In a gas station? In a gas station. I don't know if they want me to give away their thing. Okay. Yeah, but I'm doing some comedy in there. All right. Brand new store in Virginia that we went to. I like that. It was cool because like something. When you say, wait, who?
Starting point is 00:16:33 Who are you talking about? Were there other comics? There's two other comics, but I don't know if I can, I don't want to give away their home. You're not to say their name, but do you like them or not? Yeah, yeah, I like them. I don't know them and I don't work with them a lot. But yeah, they're good. If you knew them, you probably wouldn't like them.
Starting point is 00:16:49 No, that's a chance. Write down who they are on that piece of paper. I guess it's a chance. You know them. Okay. But the, you know, those people that worked at that cheats, they're going to be opening that store. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:04 And that was pretty fun because they're like, you know, they're just hanging out in the store. Yeah. And here's these comics coming in, filming a commercial. And they're like. So it's just the employees in there? Yeah. And then the crew, the film crew. Right.
Starting point is 00:17:17 You know, because it wasn't open yet. One guy was like, I appreciate you doing this for the store, man. And I said, no problem. But like you're doing the video. Yeah. I just love what Sheets is doing. I'm happy to help in any way that I can. But, you know, Sheets is, it seems like a good company.
Starting point is 00:17:33 I mean, Sheets is upper tier gas station. On the road, it's upper tier. I think there are more states than what you said that have sheets. And they may be. But they're a bigger deal. I think this is going to take you to the next level. They have over 830 convenience stores across seven states, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, and Michigan.
Starting point is 00:17:55 You're right. All right. So, and these are good markets for me. Big ones. People see me. I go to do comedy in all these places. Yeah. So I hope people go, that guy's in a commercial there.
Starting point is 00:18:08 We've got to go see. That's our boy right there. Yeah, exactly. Oh, that's him. Yeah. That's awesome. What's the weirdest place that you've done stand-up comedy? I mean, there's so many.
Starting point is 00:18:20 But, you know, at one time in North Carolina, in. I hope it gets weird. Yeah. Just the state. In what is Winston-Salem. Yeah. I did a bar show. and the comedy was on the bar.
Starting point is 00:18:34 You had to, the stage was, you had to stand on the bar. Is it an active bar where alcohol is being served? Yeah. Yeah. So, but they're all, they're all in on it. So it was a great audience. Yeah. There was a small bar.
Starting point is 00:18:47 It's full. People are sitting at the bar. And I'm just in one spot on the bar, standing up there doing comedy. I have it filmed, but the audio is so bad. Were there guys belly up getting drinks and like at your feet? Yeah. But it was actually a good show. I had a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:19:06 Were you the only one on the bar? At a time, yeah. They would introduce and then you kind of climb up on the bar and do your comedy. But I headlined it. Oh, but it was all comedias. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:19:18 You thought there might be other kind of acts. Burlasker dancers or something like that. Yeah. Well, no, I mean, I've done stuff like that too. I mean, back in the day in Charleston, I mean, I've done hosted burless shows. and it's always a disaster. But, you know, you're just doing anything to get stage time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:36 When you live in Charleston, there was no stand-up scene. So I did, you know, I did, I used to try to open for my buddy's local bands in Charleston. Yeah. And, you know, and I had a guy, I got a guy, I knew both bands, and they were going to let me do comedy in between their shows, in between their set. So I'd go up in between, but before one guy, you know, He was an older guy, and he was, he was, you know, he's really trying to get some hype going for his band. And he goes, listen, he goes, I got you this gig.
Starting point is 00:20:07 And he said this to me backstage. He goes, so when you come up, this is what I want you to do. He goes, I want you to go out to the audience, the audience of maybe 20 people. Right. And go, oh, give it up for these guys. They were really good, huh? And how about an encore? How about it?
Starting point is 00:20:23 And then you start, and then he goes, then start chanting, encore, encore, and try to get them into it. And then we'll come back out and play another song. And so I go, okay, I don't want to do this. This makes me terribly uncomfortable. So I go out and I do it. I go, oh, keep it going for those guys. They're really good. Encore.
Starting point is 00:20:44 And I go, encore. And then I turn and look. They're not chanting it. They're not chanting on tour. Just me. And I turn and look. And he's coming out of the, he's coming back out of the green room to play. Like, just like they were actually chanting it.
Starting point is 00:21:00 And then the guy over the, you know, the boom mic or whatever goes, he goes, yeah, that's not really how it works here. We got to, we got to break down all this equipment and then we got to get flipped out for the other band. So, you got overruled by the. Yeah. So then, you know, I was slotted to do comedy in between. So I go, all right, well, I'll just do my comedy. And I start my jokes. And he goes, yeah, that's not really how this works either.
Starting point is 00:21:24 We got to, you know, we got to break down all the equipment. He's just saying this in front of everybody. Yeah. So then the other band was my friend too. So he goes, he goes, don't worry about it. Well, once we get set up, I'll let you do five or ten in front of us before we get started. I go, okay. And all that, and then I bombed for five or ten minutes.
Starting point is 00:21:42 It was pretty humiliating and not worth it. Do you stay for the whole show? Yeah. Yeah, because they were my friends. And I was still drinking back then. Okay. You know, I got over it. But, you know, it's that kind of stuff, though.
Starting point is 00:21:55 You humiliate yourself enough that you can. get pretty strong on stage. Yeah. And I think that's what you got to do. What about you, Brian? Weirdest place you've ever done stand-up? Weirdest room, weirdest environment. I've done a prison.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Yeah, me too. I've done, um, I remember. How'd prison go for you? Not well. Yeah. Everybody was like, oh, these guys, they're a great audience because they're just so happy to have somebody there. And not for me.
Starting point is 00:22:26 They're like, we're going to head on back to our sale. 23-hour lockdown, but I'm going to hit on early. Walking a crowd of a prison. How about solitary for me? Yeah. I'd like to hear no one talk. I'm going to put the scared straight program. They bring me in if they want them to settle down.
Starting point is 00:22:45 But I've done nursing homes. I've done, I did a Christmas party once where I didn't know anybody. It was one of Nate's friends. And he asked me and did another guy to go. do a, just show up somebody's house and do a Christmas part. It was about as good as you could expect for somebody pretty new in the comedy, showing up somebody's house. Right.
Starting point is 00:23:07 They were supportive. I've done that gig in town, that nursing home gig back in the day. You used to be on the west side. It was like, I don't know, I don't remember who booked that. But you did. I mean, I don't. Are you talking about the cancer, the Hope Lodge? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:20 Yeah. Yeah, that's a cancer. Yeah. And it was very rough. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I didn't. It's hard to complain.
Starting point is 00:23:27 Right. Right, yeah. You got to stink. But I, you know. What's wrong with y'all? We have cancer. It's like, lighten up, guys. Lighten up.
Starting point is 00:23:36 It's like no offense to them. But it is, I mean, they, some of them were not very nice. Like they, you're like, yeah, this is the best you got, you know. Kitty heckles. Yeah. Yeah, the hope line, just kind of like Ron McDonald's house. It's for families that come in from out of state that they can stay there for free. So people in a very tough.
Starting point is 00:23:58 time of their life. Yes. And the idea being, let's do a show, give them a little reprieve, maybe share some laughs. Yes. But you have to be in a receptive attitude for the show to go well. And they were older. Yeah. It was not, you know, and like I remember one time, I forget what a, some guy was doing, like he was either talking or whatever, and, but I couldn't figure out what he was doing. And then his phone rang, and it was the loudest phone I had ever heard. And he answers. And he's, you. And he's, yelling into the phone. I go, oh, this guy can't hear.
Starting point is 00:24:32 Yeah. So he's not enjoying the show. Well, and then yesterday, Sunday. Right. Aaron threw together a little get-together for all of us at the Nashville Sounds game.
Starting point is 00:24:47 Yeah. We are. Good time. Enjoying the game together. Yeah. If you're listening, there's a photo of us, our entire family together. We had all the kids out.
Starting point is 00:24:58 Just hung out. Yeah, it was a good time. It was a good time. Watch the game ended in a walk-off for the sound? Yeah, it was a, yeah, I mean. I've brought Lucy to maybe four or five baseball games since we've been together. She is unbelievable luck. Every game would go to.
Starting point is 00:25:14 It's either extra innings or a walk-off or something. She'd say unbelievably bad luck. Yeah, she hates it. She's having to explain the concept of extra innings to her the first time was very fun. She's like, going to keep going. I said, yeah, we've got to have a winner. You told me. Yesterday you said that after nine when it was tied, she goes, so that's nine, right?
Starting point is 00:25:36 Yeah, exactly. We just do nine and that's that. Now, we're going to keep going. We were, Dusty and I were sitting there yesterday, second inning. And Dusty goes, so the sounds, they're not very good, huh? And I'm like, I have no idea what the record is. I was like, why do you say that? He's like, well, they're losing one to nothing.
Starting point is 00:25:56 and just walk that guy. It's the second idiot. Well, it's not a good look. You know, and you don't know a lot about a team, they're losing and they're walking guys. It's not a good look. Yeah. But you know what? They turned it around.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Turn it around. It was really, bottom of the night. That last inning was exciting. Yeah. Baseball can be fun, man. And I was yelling at, I got to, you know, I was yelling at the batter in a positive way, some positive reinforcement. And my son started to yell too. Oh, yeah, that's right.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Yeah. I thought you were talking about the guy on the other team. You were yelling mean things. Oh, yeah. I was yelling mean things to a guy. Well, he had bad sportsman-like conduct. And I didn't care for him. This is what he did.
Starting point is 00:26:42 It was his turn. Like, whatever, he had to walk to the base. He got walked. He got walked. And then the bat boy came out, and he was just standing there waiting on the guy to take off his stuff. And the guy took all day. He was taking his time. He was milking it.
Starting point is 00:26:56 guy wait, you know, you got walked. You didn't hit a home run. Yeah. And then he went to first. And then they, he tried to, like, lead off too far. And then, and then they threw the ball to first to catch him. And then he ran way out of the lane. And they called him out of the lane. Yeah. And then he tried to argue. And I was like, good call. Get out of here. Get him out of here. It was just two minutes of, uh, this guy not getting on Dusty's good side. I love to talk. It was fun to watch. I like it. It was a lot of fun. It was a lot of fun. Thank you, Aaron, for putting that together. I'm glad it worked out. And guys, we got some merch.
Starting point is 00:27:31 Whoa. What about this? You guys, you folks asked for it. Here it is. Public figures. Whoa. If you're listening, it's a hot shirt. It's a shirt. It is a hot shirt. I love a white shirt with the red collar like that. What do you call that? Is it a style of shirt? I think it's called something, but I. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:51 What is it? Ringer tea. A ringer tea. Which is really the perfect tea for. for one that has public figures on it, you know, because a ringer, like in the boxing world is like, you're saying they're an amateur, but they're really a pro. A dead ringer. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Yeah. That's right. And you can get this on Nate's website, right? Where can you get this? Nate Land Entertainment website. All right. All right. So get one of those.
Starting point is 00:28:16 Yeah. Send it to my house because I'd like one. We'll see if we can get you on. All right. Can you guys want to get in some comments? Let's do it. Yeah. comments come from Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Apple podcast reviews, and mail at natelandpodcast.com.
Starting point is 00:28:34 First one comes from Cleedy. Cleedy T. Judd. Poor Cletus. I don't know if you guys keep up with Cletus, but he had some kidney stones, had to cancel some shows. He said last week was worst week of his life. Wow. Yep, yep. You get them lasered out of there or what? I don't know, but he said he was in a lot of pain.
Starting point is 00:28:55 Dr. Dr. a lot of milk. He drinks a lot of milk and coke. Is that what does it? That's what one guy told me. I used to work with a guy at Office Depot, and he told me he didn't like to drink milk because milk and Coke mixed together gives you kidney stones. Why was he mixing them together? I don't know, but I always thought in that scenario, you give up the Coke, not the milk. Sure. Yeah. Diet Coke? I could Diet Coke all day over milk, dude. But I don't think that guy knew what he was talking about. I don't think so either.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Well, Cleedy does because Cleedy says, What a great episode. Man, I think you guys really showed off how professional you are at comedy. It really made me think how much I am not a figure in the public guy. Keep up the great work. Thanks for making Wednesdays fun.
Starting point is 00:29:40 God bless. Thanks, Cleedy. You don't need to put yourself down, though. Yeah, and I hope you never get kidney stones. Yeah. That's something I hope for Cleedy. That would be tough. I used to work with a guy.
Starting point is 00:29:52 named Cliff, and he only drank Mountain Dew. He said he hadn't had to drink other than Mountain Dew since the 70s. Wow. He said, I'm doing fine. He did have cancer. Okay. But he said other than that, his body was in great shape. Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Well, good. Well, Cliff, you know. He should be in their commercial. Yeah. That's how we should do it, too. I've been drinking this since the 70s, and I'm fine. I'm out here working. I'm doing great.
Starting point is 00:30:20 I am currently stage three can. right now, but other than that. And it's worth it. I'm not stopping. Greg Jones, I work for a software company fixing Y2K bugs and computer programs. Usually it was banks or insurance companies. But my claim to fame amongst my coworkers was finding and correcting a mistake in Budweiser's code. There was a routine that calculated whether the beer was skunky or not.
Starting point is 00:30:47 So Budweiser drinkers everywhere, catastrophe averted. You are welcome. Well, thank you for that, Greg. Yeah, I appreciate that. That's pretty wild. It was skunky. Skunky is like... Not good.
Starting point is 00:30:58 You know, if you take a beer out of the fridge, if a beer gets warm and then it's... If you put it back in, it's got skunked. It goes bad. He doesn't be cold and then warm and then cold. Yeah, if the temperature changes, it can get skunked and it tastes sour and it's bad. Gotcha. We would have drank it, but... My mom reminded me, my grandfather, who worked for the Air Force, he,
Starting point is 00:31:21 worked in the computers or something with technology. I had so many people in the military. That's why I'm from Montgomery. For this podcast. But that's why my mom grew up in Montgomery is because of the Air Force base there. But he worked on the Y2K problem for the government since the 70s. That's how far ahead they were getting of it. A lot of 70s, right?
Starting point is 00:31:44 He's been working there long as Cliff's been drinking Mountain Dew, man. It was a big decade. A lot was going on. Wow. Working on Y2K for 30 years. Well, I think they were looking ahead. They got to fix this. We got to reprogram some stuff.
Starting point is 00:32:00 Sooner Guy 44. Geez, Brian. How about more Tiger Woods won the U.S. Open, broke a major record with a dominant 15-shot victory. Michigan State won the national championship in B-ball. Who cares about that? Bob stops in his, I think he means stoops. In his second year at OU went 13-0 and won OU's seventh national championship.
Starting point is 00:32:21 less Al Gore stories, more sports. I don't know what podcast you think you're listening to, Sooner Guy. Sooner Guy wants more Oklahoma football. Yeah, we should talk more about Oklahoma sports. Yeah. That is a huge void in the history of this show. I mean, the episode was about the year 2000. There was a presidential election, unlike any in our history.
Starting point is 00:32:43 Right. And I was sharing personal stories about covering events in Al Gore being from Tennessee. So it's not like I have some, you know, some agenda. Right. But I'm sure. I think if we had, if we had more time,
Starting point is 00:32:57 we could have got to the sports. We were just about to get to Oklahoma sports. We usually have a section. If we had more time, we could have talked about Bob stops. Maybe his brother, Mark.
Starting point is 00:33:12 Mark stops, yeah. Yeah. Lucas Stolt. You think that's right? Stultie. Stoltie? I bet it's Stolt. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:20 Aaron and Dusty's duet. was amazing. Yeah. I was wondering, could each of you try to sing some jingles to see who's best?
Starting point is 00:33:27 No. I would love to hear Breakfast Burrito Boy sing the Popeyes commercial. Love that chicken for Popeyes. I guess I'm not
Starting point is 00:33:35 breakfast burrito boys. Can you not even let me do the thing that they're asking for? Do you know the jingle the Popeyes? Well, I just heard it
Starting point is 00:33:43 from Mr. Has to Talk Over everybody. Have you heard it melodically before? Love that chicken at Popeyes. Yeah, that's it. about that.
Starting point is 00:33:52 Yeah. Well, Lucas, sorry that Dusty had to chime in over. Sorry, I didn't know breakfast burrito boy was going to do it. B, B, B, B, B. I mean, at least let me finish the... Oh, and then he says, love the pie, keep it up, guys. Sorry, Lucas. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:34:06 Yeah. Sorry, B, B, B. Yeah, better business bureau over here. My bad. I mean, I didn't know you'd do it. Well, I sing on here all the time on this podcast. I'll take requests. You didn't jump.
Starting point is 00:34:20 He does impressions. He does that. everything. So he wants some jingles from all of us. What's a jingle you want to sing? What's a jingle? Let me think of one. Oscar Meyer Wiener. I don't know. I don't know if I know. I don't do any hot dog jingles. My just rule of thumb for my life. I don't do any hot dog jingles. My baloney has a first name. It's OS-C-A-R. My baloney has a second name. It's M-A-Y-E-R. Is it M-A-Y-E-R or M-E-Y-E-R? Oh, that's M-E-Y-E-R?
Starting point is 00:34:57 Could be either one. That's pretty good, though. That's a good one. Go ahead. I don't, you know, the jingles have to feel like they have to be brought up. Organically. Yeah, and you get inspired and you... Cars for Kids.
Starting point is 00:35:09 Break into it. Oh, Cars for Kids, I think, is the most annoying one of all time, isn't it? At least it's a good organization. Yeah, but the we buy junk cars, that's an annoying one, too. Free credit. Report.com had a real run of incredible jingles. Do you remember that?
Starting point is 00:35:27 Yeah. Remember Free Credit Reports? Started out for me. Well, there was a, there were a bunch of them. Yeah. Yeah. You know,
Starting point is 00:35:35 it's really, it's just got to come with inspiration. I mean, Lucas Stolt can't just. Lucas, we're not puppets here. Yeah. We've got to do it organically.
Starting point is 00:35:44 I mean, you did get Brian to sing the Oscar Meyer song. Yeah, and the Popeyes. Yeah. Love that chicken. from Popeyes. I love that,
Starting point is 00:35:54 Jengel. But I'll be honest with you. I don't really like Popeye's chicken. Thank you for your honesty. Yeah. You usually don't share if you're upset about something. So I appreciate you. Breaking news.
Starting point is 00:36:07 Now, granted. You're just going to drop a bomb on us like that? I can't believe this. I stopped at Popeyes. It was a gas station. Popeye. Oh, well, come on. And I got some chicken, and I was like, oh, this is
Starting point is 00:36:25 not good. Well, go to a standalone restaurant. I should go to a standalone building where they're getting the same chicken from the same truck. Yeah. And tell me how that tastes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:36 Cake the Great. I think Friends has to be thrown in the ring for the best theme song. Everyone would wait for the clapping part and then clap along like it was meant to be interactive. Yeah, you used to tell me, Dusty, you would do that, right? You'd throw a friends party. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:51 You know, the thing about Friends is I liked it. I really liked the show 20 years ago or so. When it was coming out, when it was live. I think I was even watching early reruns in around 2004 or so. I would get off work at Office Depot. I had no friends. I was living in Charleston. I would come home.
Starting point is 00:37:13 I would watch more breaking news. Some episodes. I think I would watch a couple episodes of Conan. And then I would watch some Seinfeld episodes and then Friends. Yeah. And I loved it. But Seinfeld's still good to me. Friends, I don't enjoy that show anymore.
Starting point is 00:37:29 I get it. And so the theme song is not good to me now. So no one told me, I just don't like it. Gonna be this way. Your job's a joke, you broke. You love life's do your way. It's just like, I almost threw up. Just singing it now.
Starting point is 00:37:46 Yeah. Yeah. I like Jennifer Addiston. Yep. Courtney Cox. Yeah. Yeah. Jennifer.
Starting point is 00:37:55 Lisa Gudry. Yeah, they were all great. Chandler. Matthew Perry. Yeah. Matthew Perry was great. Rest of peace. A guy just went to prison for killing him.
Starting point is 00:38:06 Yeah, I saw that. Yeah. Good for the justice system. And I like Matthew Perry. He had a couple of the whole nine yards. Yeah, that was good. Really great. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:18 He had one with, I think, with Chris Farley, where they were like Frontiers? I think that was Chris Farley's last movie. Yeah, that was a good one. He's a recurring character in the West Wing. Okay. He discovers that the vice president is involved in a scandal.
Starting point is 00:38:34 Wow. Doesn't he play two different characters in the West Wing? At the beginning of West Wing, they're at a Hollywood party and somebody says, hey, is that Matthew Perry? So Matthew Perry's in the universe of the West Wing. But then later in the show, Matthew Perry is a guest star on the show. So you're like, well, who did they see at the
Starting point is 00:38:50 party. Yeah. You know? That's funny. It's kind of like Ocean's 12. You ever see that movie? Ocean 11, fantastic. Ocean's 12, fine.
Starting point is 00:38:59 Yes. But in the movie, they pretend that. Julia Roberts is Julia Roberts. Yeah. Yeah. I liked it. Did you? I liked it.
Starting point is 00:39:06 It's a ridiculous fun movie. It's a little tugging cheek, yeah. Jennifer. It's like, you look like Julia Roberts. And you're like, you look like Brad Pitt. You look like George Clooney. This is crazy. I'm not mad Damon.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Come to think of it. We're an incredibly good-looking. friend group. Jennifer Mars and Gill. Wow. Mars and Gil is one name. Right?
Starting point is 00:39:31 It's not like the comment was from two people. Jennifer, Mars, and then somebody named Gil. Jennifer Mars and Gil. I'm with Dusty. I absolutely love the Drew Carey show.
Starting point is 00:39:44 It was unique and had a great ensemble cast. I agree it gets overlooked and should be talked about more. Also, not a 2000 show. But the greatest theme song ever, in my opinion, goes to WKRP and Cincinnati. Drew Carey show was great. If you ever wonder, wondered whatever became of me. I'm living on the air in Cincinnati.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Okay. Cincinnati, WKRP. I don't know. I never heard this, even this of this show. Yeah, I mean, that's right up your alley. That's your style of music. It's a great. That could be Christopher Cross right there.
Starting point is 00:40:21 You guys need to get out of, from it, a rock. I hate it. to disagree with Jennifer Marsing Gill after just agreeing with me. But that may be one of my least favorite that I've ever heard. That two seconds you heard. That's the worst thing I've ever heard. Now, Drew Carey's show, it was really great.
Starting point is 00:40:39 I mean, they had a good cast, and I don't know. I loved it. No one ever talks about it. It's too bad. Yeah. I used to watch it a lot. Some things just fade away with time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:49 You know, it's going to be not long. Nobody's going to be talking about this show. I don't believe that. Okay. You'll be talking about it? On his other podcast. Somebody will. Andy Wexler.
Starting point is 00:41:01 I've been enjoying the guys teasing Brian often about being the old man until this episode when he mentioned he was born in 1971. And I realized we're the same age. I read this comment and this was one of the funniest things that I read in a long time. Did he fax this comment in or was it? I love this, that this guy was like just laughing along. Yeah. Ah, so old. And my guess, unless he was born late in 1971 like me, he's older than I am.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Wow. Yeah, this guy's really old. Yeah, grandpa. Go back where you came from. Yes. Mel, meld this in. Joel Evans, Aaron's Big Slay-Okerson remark didn't get enough. All right.
Starting point is 00:41:42 I appreciate that. You know, I think I stepped on your joke. That's okay. I hate when I do that. I step on you all the time. That's what we do. On purpose, but. That's not true.
Starting point is 00:41:49 I felt like it got enough, just enough. They got what it does. Yeah, I felt like it did. I mean, it was a good, it was a good reference. But I appreciate it. Because I was talking about wearing fingerless gloves, and Aaron wanted to let me know how cool I was. Yep.
Starting point is 00:42:05 But I said something, trying to be funny right at the same time, and I'm sorry, you didn't get the love. It deserves. Look, dude, this show, there's so much humor flying around any given time. It's bound to overlap every now and then. Andrew Lever.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Lever. Laver. Lover. You guys hit the nail in the head with the classic video game parties. My buddies and I spent so many hours playing Halo and Golden Eye back in the day, eating new at the time, stuffed crust pizza from Pizza Hut, and sipping full sugar mountain dews.
Starting point is 00:42:36 Ah, the good old days. Maybe throw a surge in there every now. Remember a surge? Yeah. Oh, yeah, your heart rate up. Yeah, I mean. A seven-year-old. It really was like, I mean, it was great.
Starting point is 00:42:49 Yeah. I mean, just, I don't know, it's a good time. I mean, it has to end. You can't keep doing that. Of course. Some guys do. I know. It gets sad.
Starting point is 00:42:58 Your friend. Keep drinking Mountain Dew. This is a cliff. Co-worker, by the way. I was still playing Goldine. Yeah. But it's, I actually, I bought Golden Eye for Nintendo 64. I bought a 64.
Starting point is 00:43:14 Yeah. And I just wanted it, you know. And then my daughter's been messing around with the games and she played it. And she didn't know how to, I wasn't in there. Yeah. And she didn't know how to shoot the gun. And she was like, I didn't know how to use the gun. And the guys just shot me.
Starting point is 00:43:27 And she goes, the screen got so red. I guess it was, I guess that was blood. Yeah. You don't want your daughter watching anything, but you have her play that? I didn't have her play it is what I'm saying. She's learned to put the games in. And I just forgot. But to be fair, the game is so low.
Starting point is 00:43:44 It's probably pixelated. The graphics are so bad that it's hard to even take series. Yeah. But I don't want her seeing that. I apologize to her. Kelly Pittman, heart attacks increased 10 to 24% during daylight savings and go down when we gain an hour. That tells you everything you need to know. Well, actually, it doesn't.
Starting point is 00:44:03 I'd love a lot more details about why that happens and how we know that and a lot of stuff. I googled it. I agree with Kelly. That's not all we need to know. I need more context. You want daylight savings. During daylight. Oh.
Starting point is 00:44:17 Oh, yeah. Yeah, you backed away from that pretty quick, huh? Well, that's all you need to know. Yeah. Turns out Dusty did need to know more. All I need to know is she's wrong about this. I googled it. It just basically says you lose an hour of sleep that first day.
Starting point is 00:44:32 And it gets you off enough to, apparently a fourth of the world has heart attacks. Throws your body out of whack. Yeah. I don't think she. Yes. Go ahead. I know you misinterpreted that to be funny, but that is funny. but that is funny to think she said 24% of all people have heart attacks.
Starting point is 00:44:53 She said it increases by 10 to 24%. Oh, okay. Fourth of the world has a heart. I wasn't saying it's hard attack. 25% of people get heart attacks. That would be wild if the fourth of the world had a heart attack every time they do this and they kept doing it. They're like, no, we're not ending it.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Dussie's like, I need my sunlight. I was at a football game. 25,000 people went down all at once. Yeah. You do need sunlight, though. Jim and Denise. We noticed that Brian and Aaron have professional headshots on IMDB, but the horse trainer, Dusty Slaid, does not.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Definitely makes one think that his role in the film was minimal. Get a headshot on there, Dusty. Being the horse trainer is a big deal. Well, I'll tell you what. My role is minimal. So let's not think I'm playing a major role. You have an award nomination? Do you?
Starting point is 00:45:40 The Indieville TV Awards. You're nominated for Best Indie Comedian. Look at that. Nashville's seeing. He was best. Let me see if you got nominated for Best Corporate. Well, I'll tell you what. One time I...
Starting point is 00:45:51 Among the critics. This is when I put out wet heat and I hired a PR firm, I, I don't know, got a subscription to IMDB. Yeah. I updated everything. I went through. I got very detailed with it. I updated it.
Starting point is 00:46:06 And then like a day later, it, I don't know, resorted back to this. So I said, okay, I don't care. I didn't care before. And then I put in a lot of work. and now I don't care again. But that we're listed behind Jared Curtis on the call sheet there, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:25 That's okay. So, yeah, I mean, I appreciate you pointing that out, Jim and Denise. Thanks for bringing that to light. I mean, this is what you're going to be known for now as the horse trainer. Yeah, I think people were going, oh, what is, what's Dusty's IMDB looking like? And why is he not updating it? Does he even show up here? I'm probably not even listed.
Starting point is 00:46:47 Well, let me hit View All. Yeah, you got to get. Sorry, that was just the top cast. Yeah, you got to get it. Yeah, there you are here at the bottom. Yeah, horse trainer. Yeah. So there you go.
Starting point is 00:47:00 What is that saying about me on? IMDB. It says you're married with two kids. Dusty Slay is known for Dusty Slay wet heat, the breadwinner, and Circle Sessions. What was that? The little segment they did about you on the Circle Network. That's where most of the tickets come from, I think.
Starting point is 00:47:18 Yeah, I mean, there's way more things. I mean, I... Hop on here and edit this, man. The breadwinner, it's big that I'm in there, but I don't think I'm known for that. That's not even out to the public yet. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:30 I'm going to tell everybody that's what you're known for. Yeah. It says you have two kids, so you need to update that. Yeah. Alex Meyer. Does my wife have a headshot? Let me go on her. If she had a better...
Starting point is 00:47:42 She has a lot more activity on here. I'll tell you that. Yeah, she's got a headshot on here. Wow. She's Canadian famous. Yeah, there's videos on her. Look at that. Look at that.
Starting point is 00:47:50 She looks way more active in the world than you. Yeah. That's great. Whenever Brian says that's great, that's his way of saying, let's move on. Yeah. Yeah. How about that? You are correct.
Starting point is 00:48:05 That's great. No, one more comment here. Alex Meyer, Dusty's going from don't chat with AI like you're having a conversation to admitting, most of this tweet I replied to are probably bots. I think it's fun. Within 30 seconds is the epitome of Dessie Slay, and I am here for it. Love the pod. Keep up the great work. Listen, I laughed along with this comment because it is funny, okay? But I'm not having a conversation with the bot on Twitter. What I'm talking about is these people, they go, these people that I follow on TikTok, they go,
Starting point is 00:48:36 AI's a demon, don't communicate with it. And let me tell you what happened to me. And then they go, I've been sitting around for hours, having personal conversations, with AI talking with it about religion and things like that. And I go, yeah, that's your problem. You got in too deep. You just got to go in, tell AI it's stupid, and then get out of there. You know what I mean? I saw on the news that the bots are, you know, people running bot forms in other countries. What's the purpose of bots? They just probably monetize and I'm probably helping them make money. I saw on the news that all these college commencement speeches are going on now. And
Starting point is 00:49:14 And very often, when the speaker brings up AI, they're booing them. Oh, yeah. I've seen a few videos. One of them was at MTSU. Oh, really? Yeah. They'll bring it up in a positive way in the audience booze, yeah. And as soon as they bring it up, all the students boo.
Starting point is 00:49:28 Especially a place like that, right? Because they're technology people. MTSU? Yeah. Yeah, it was the guy who runs. Is it not? Well, they're music people. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:49:38 Oh, yeah. It was the guy who runs big machine records. Oh, okay. And he said something about AI. And they're like, boo. Yeah, he's probably making a ton of money, and he's probably losing money now because of it. Anyway. Interesting stuff.

Starting point is 00:51:54 See terms for details. All right. We are back with the one and only birthday girl, Angela Johnson. How about that? I feel bad stealing that from Dusty. Oh, it's your birthday? Yeah, it's my birthday, did that. Oh, I didn't know idea.
Starting point is 00:52:09 But Dusty is against holidays. He's against celebrating things. So I'm going to focus all that energy I would have. given to him to you, Angela. Happy birthday. Thank you so much. I support it. Now, birthdays is one thing, your birthday, you celebrate, not Jesus is, but yours. I'm against celebrating my own birthday. I told my family, I'll celebrate for my kids because they like it, and I'll celebrate my wives. But yeah, I mean, I told her, I go, let's not make a big deal here, guys. So you're not doing anything today? I, no, I didn't really do anything today.
Starting point is 00:52:38 But like, my wife has gotten me a massage for tomorrow. Whoa. At the house? No, no, just at a. out of place. All right. Now, next week is Memorial Day, and we were going to record two episodes today so we could be off and you're like, guys, it's my birthday. Well, you're saying you don't do anything? Well, I don't want to spend the whole day down here with you guys. I have some follow-up questions with the massage.
Starting point is 00:53:00 So do I. Because you give me, like, I don't like massage vibes. You only get some from men. Like, you don't strike me as a guy who gets massages. I don't get them a lot, but I do enjoy a massage. Oh, that's good. Do you like deep tissue? Do you have like a...
Starting point is 00:53:15 Yeah, like, you know, I don't want to, you know, it'll be too rough with me. But I, yeah, I'd like to really get in there. But don't tickle. Right. Right. Exactly. Just a waste of a massage.
Starting point is 00:53:24 Don't tickle. Yeah. And don't... They upcharge for tickly, usually. And I don't like when they talk to me while it's doing it. You know, like let me, don't ask me how it's been going. Let me, let me just enjoy the, you know, the whole tranquility of it all. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:40 Hot stones. You do hot stones? I've never done hot stones. Okay, I have another follow the question. Okay. Okay. Do you have a preference of music or sounds when you're getting a massage? I do like when they kind of put on music that sounds like...
Starting point is 00:53:54 Massage music. Yeah. Yeah. You know what I mean? I do not like it when they play music that has like a melody to it. No. Because I'm like, now I'm like following the melody. Like just give me like...
Starting point is 00:54:07 You want a sound skate. Yeah. Water flowing down a fountain of rocks. Some native flutes. Yeah. Exactly. That's all I want. Like you're looking out over a barren planet.
Starting point is 00:54:17 If I hear a piano come in during my massage, I'm out. Too much, too much. I like traditional Chinese classical. Like whatever that instrument, the... Chinese instrument. Yeah. Chinese and Japanese. Classical.
Starting point is 00:54:34 It's the same kind of instrument. You're probably talking about that. I bet I am. It's a string instrument. It goes in. Good course. It's a traditional Chinese instrument. thither.
Starting point is 00:54:44 You would know if you heard it. You like the 21 or 26 string? Well, I think a 26 string is going to be the best. Yeah. More strings the better. Yeah. But it's like that it just, I don't know, it feels good. It's relaxing.
Starting point is 00:54:59 That's nice. Yeah. I like it. Well, I hope you enjoy your massage. Thank you. I appreciate that. Yeah. Well, I brought this up last time you were on, but Aaron, you weren't here.
Starting point is 00:55:06 So I want to share it again because I think it's interesting fact. Angela and Dusty, born the same week. Uh-huh. Wow. Wow. They have a child born the same week. Wow. We are the same person.
Starting point is 00:55:18 Neither graduated college. Nope. Both have some questions about the moon landing. That's right. Let's go. Let's go. That's what I'm talking about. She knows some stuff.
Starting point is 00:55:28 She went to Johnson Space Center. Some questions weren't answered. You went undercover? I sure did. Well, it's nice to have some, you know, rational thinking people on the podcast once in a while and not people that just accept every narrative thrown at them. Thank you. It's ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:55:45 It's a ridiculous framing of the situation. But happy to have you here, I am. Yeah. Thank you. Yeah, I've been wanting to have you here just to tell them, because you said, we could go 50 years ago, we can't go now, something right? Let me tell you.
Starting point is 00:55:56 Oh, well, we lost the technology. No one's just trying to build it back. No one's ever said that. No one's ever said that. Okay, I'm sorry about it. But I want you to know you have an ally, Dusty. I wanted you to know that. Matt said it can go.
Starting point is 00:56:08 We lost the blue. blueprints to the lunar lander. If I could find the video, I'll find it. I'll bring it in. And I also wanted to ask you, because you were at Nate's movie premiere, the Red Winner. Yes. What is the secret to get on the red carpet? Because I tried and they said no.
Starting point is 00:56:24 What? I got denied. I got denied. And they said, sir. I was like, I'm in the movie. And they're like, sorry. And then that's Angela Johnson. And they're like, honestly, I just followed John Christ.
Starting point is 00:56:34 He was walking on. So I was like, do I go next? And they're like, yeah, sure. That might have been the move. It's just follow somebody like that. And then I had my name on my ticket envelope and I just showed it to him. So she wrote it on the board. Oh, maybe we should have done that.
Starting point is 00:56:47 I'll be honest, I showed up. I didn't know that it was a red carpet event. I didn't know what I was coming to. Didn't dress appropriately. No way. Didn't know press would be there. No way. I thought it was a private screening of the film.
Starting point is 00:56:57 I showed up. I didn't know who to talk to. I just stood around. And then I saw everybody to the red carpet. And me, Brian had Dusty were like, we're in the movie. Let's go get a picture. I talked to several people about getting. I took my daughter.
Starting point is 00:57:10 I just wanted to get a picture with her on the red carpet. And they wouldn't let you. And then a guy eventually comes around. He goes, you guys trying to get a picture? And then he takes, and then we go, oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:19 And it seemed like he's about to hook it up. And he takes us to a place that we could have easily just walked up to. Any time that we wanted. Popcorn stand. And took a picture. The cut out of Nate. They took care. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:32 Okay. So still not. Still not on the empty red carpet that no one's on. That's right. That's right. That was wild. Did you get nervous when you saw the red carpet? We were like, uh-oh, I'm not dressed.
Starting point is 00:57:43 If I had a bigger role in the movie, maybe. And you were dressed five. Yeah. I was dressed ready to go. Well, thank you. You guys were so good. All of you, I was so happy when I saw you guys on the screen. Your acting skills were on point.
Starting point is 00:57:57 I was like, okay, boys, let's go. I love that. You guys did really good. Thank you. How did you feel watching yourself? Weird. It's so fast that you're like, whoa, that's me.
Starting point is 00:58:09 And then it's over. And you're like, I don't even know how I did. Can we rewind that? But, you know, you can't. You should have asked, though. That would have been funny. You guys might as we run that back? I want to watch that again.
Starting point is 00:58:21 I was sitting next to Nate. And so as soon as my scene was over, which is the first, what, three minutes of the movie. Yeah, maybe less than that. All right, I'm out of here. Right. It was fun, but it was surreal. How'd you feel?
Starting point is 00:58:32 It was cool. I mean, it was very cool. They had a real close up of me. Way too close. Like too close. I was like, yo, Zoom. zoom out a little bit. It's like a jump scare.
Starting point is 00:58:40 Everybody said, whoa. Nobody did that. But it was perfect for what it was. The crowd didn't gasp when my face came up. My area they did. Oh, no. We were at last row. And people were still like, wow, is this 3D?
Starting point is 00:59:00 Yeah, there's a big shot of my dumb head. But, yeah, I mean, I've never been in a movie. So it's crazy to see yourself in one, you know. You did great. Dusty brought his daughter and she got to see him in the movie. That was probably cool. What was that like with your daughter seeing? She was very excited.
Starting point is 00:59:15 She was very excited. How old is she? Five. So does she understand the movies? Well, this is what I was saying, you know, to Brian is that, you know, because of YouTube. I was there too, by the way. We're like, well, Brian was who was harassing me about it. But with YouTube, it's like, like we could be on TV.
Starting point is 00:59:38 any time. It's almost like being on TV means nothing. You mean on the literal TV. Right, at home, being on TV almost means nothing because I can upload, you know, I could upload my daughter to the TV. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But to be at the movie, so I didn't tell her that I was in it. And it was, it was quick. I'm glad she noticed that I was there. But she didn't notice on her own. And so it was exciting. What did say? She goes, Dad. She goes, that's you, dad? Yeah, it's very exciting. How'd that make you feel? I feel great. Well, I go, yeah. Well, yeah, I'm on TV all the time. I can't stand you. Why are you surprised? I do have three Netflix specials, but yeah, thanks, daughter. The reason why I asked is because I had a little kid one time.
Starting point is 01:00:21 I was in the movie Alvin and the Chitmunks, which obviously got a lot of kid fans from that. And I remember meeting a little kid at the mall. And she said, I saw you in the Chitmunks. And I said, you did? And she goes, yeah, did you see me? Like, she didn't understand. she thought that I could like see her back from the TV. And I was like, oh.
Starting point is 01:00:42 But I guess that was a long time ago before YouTube when we could watch it on TV. So that does make sense. How old was her? How old was the kid? That's what I'm thinking about. How old was the kid? Oh, I don't like under five, like in that range.
Starting point is 01:00:54 Okay. But it is. I don't know. I don't even see you now, kid. I say that, but I've also admitted on here before. that when I was very young and people died in television shows and movies, I thought that the actors were actually dying. And I remember thinking, wow, what a sacrifice for this film.
Starting point is 01:01:18 They really believed in this movie. They were willing to die for the movie. The moon landing stuff is making more sense now. I remember watching your movie that came out last year, maybe before Candy King Lane with Eddie Murphy. And in that movie, the little figures come to life. And the little girl is the first one. to, I guess, experience it.
Starting point is 01:01:40 And I thought, my daughter would totally go along with this if it happened to her because kids just live in a fantasy world that's fun. And I mean, maybe not for you, but. I was the least fun kid ever. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I think about like you take your kid to Disneyland, right? Or Disney World and you meet Mickey Mouse. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:02:00 Mickey Mouse is walking around. What do kids think that is? I am. Do they think that that's Mickey Mouse? I think, well, we just met Mickey. Okay. She's never seen Mickey on TV or anything. So she doesn't really know who Mickey Mouse is.
Starting point is 01:02:15 We just tell her that's Mickey Mouse. And so we went and took a picture with him. And we were doing like the character breakfast at our, at our resort we were staying at. And it was a Disney resort. And so she went to take her picture with Mickey Mouse. And then she said, do you want to come eat breakfast with us? And like was inviting him to come sit and eat with us. But she doesn't understand who Mickey is.
Starting point is 01:02:33 She just thinks here's this thing that we're being happy about. And we're all saying, oh, say hi. Oh, and we're like, so she's just like going along with it. And you're like, no, that guy's probably an alcoholic. Yeah. Well, we were just looking at our IMDB page before you joined us because we got a movie on there now. You look at that. And yours might be a little bit better.
Starting point is 01:02:56 Barely. Barely. Let's say you were the resurrection of Gavin Stone. You were the number two in that movie, right? Yeah. Yep, I think so. Our family wedding. Yep.
Starting point is 01:03:08 And these are all from so long ago. That's how not better. What was the movie? What was the movie with James Gautafini and Julia Louis Dreyfus? Oh, enough said. Yeah, that was a great movie. That was a good one. That was fun.
Starting point is 01:03:21 Yeah. So you've been out a ton of stuff. Hey, I'm blessed. I can do the whole, the grass is always greener thing. Oh, I've seen this cover of this. I've never watched this movie, though. This is one of the movies I gave you. When I liquidated my collection to you, this is one of the movies.
Starting point is 01:03:38 Do you want me to sign it for you? I didn't know. Yes, I did. I do, actually. I actually might want it back now. I didn't know. Yeah. I play the maid.
Starting point is 01:03:47 Catherine Keener, it's a great movie. It just, the cover to me, it seems like they're, it's like too. Artsy? No. It's James Gandalfini and Julia Louis Dreyf is sitting on a stoop, and they're looking a different direction. It just seems like it's like a love, too much of a love. story. It's a romantic comedy drama.
Starting point is 01:04:07 This makes it seem like. Well, that is what it is. But it's good. Is it good? Yeah. Yeah, it was a good one. Wow, James Canofini died after the film was completed, but before it came out. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:19 Whoa. Very sad. Yeah. Enough sad. I cannot stand you. I cannot stand you. All right, Angela, the other thing I wanted to ask you. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:04:35 The thing I wanted to ask you to get your opinion on. Last week, Aaron asked the question, what is the best TV theme music of all time, theme song? Oh, the best TV. I said, I said, why are you thinking about it? I say Golden Girls. Dessie said fresh Prince of Bel Air. I mean, I think that's the best.
Starting point is 01:04:52 I actually want to reintroduce one of the conversation that never came up. All right. Okay. Gilmore Girls. Next. I didn't watch it. I wouldn't even be able to tell you. Oh, that's the Gilmore song.
Starting point is 01:05:04 It's a Carol King song. You really thought Angela was going to get behind you on that. I didn't. I'm sorry. I didn't watch it. But my husband watches Gilmore Girls. Okay. So he would be down with that.
Starting point is 01:05:13 Can we get him on the podcast next week? Can we hit us with a little bit of it? Are we going to play it? No, no, no, we don't. Acapella, please. If you leave, I will follow anywhere that you tell me to. If you leave, you need me to be with you, I will follow. You don't know the song?
Starting point is 01:05:35 There's a big song. I think it sounds like a good song. But I feel like you just, I don't know, and maybe they all do this, but I feel like you just can't take a song and make it the theme song and then that be an iconic theme song. Well, Friends did that.
Starting point is 01:05:52 The Rembrandts. Is that who sing that? I don't know. I kind of ruled that one out as one of my favorites earlier, though. Okay. I mean, it's popular because of the Friends Did you do the clap?
Starting point is 01:06:06 Of course, of course. Yeah, best you did it too. Who didn't? With those friends parties. What were the other submissions for best? Family matters. Oh, cheers. Family matters?
Starting point is 01:06:18 Yeah. What's the old, old women? Golden girls. Golden girls. Full house. They're probably our age. If you look at the ages of the women on that show, they're like, I think one of them was in their 40s.
Starting point is 01:06:29 Yeah, it doesn't make sense. I think they were supposed to be. Betty White was like 46. But I saw, I saw some. hair swapping pictures where they put modern day hair on them. And they look younger. Yeah. Totally.
Starting point is 01:06:41 I saw that too. It is the hair. Yeah, Blanche Devereaux. Old Blanche. Played by Rue Mclanham. She was 51 when the show came out. Yeah. Jennifer Lopez is currently like 52 or three or something.
Starting point is 01:06:55 I think she's older than that. Really? Yeah, I think she's older than I am. Yeah. That's the benchmark. She's 56. No. 56 years old.
Starting point is 01:07:07 Wow. My goal. People my age are The Rock. Yeah. Really? Yep. Shack. Snoop Dog.
Starting point is 01:07:18 All your peers. Yeah. And me. The four of us. The four of us. Bobby Lee is the same age as you too. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:29 He's 54 years old. Bert Kreischer and I have the same birthday, but he's a year younger than I. He's a little younger than you. A year. Not a little. He's considerably younger. Considerably. You know, Snoop really made a transition.
Starting point is 01:07:40 You know, there's like ABC's songs for kids that, you know, he's playing. And I like to tell my kids when that comes on, I go, learn your ABCs. But this guy, he killed a guy. I didn't even know that. Did he? I don't know. He had the song, murder was the case. Murder was the case that they gave them.
Starting point is 01:08:01 At the very least, he talked about killing him. Yeah. At the very least. Yeah. That's the same, right? Yeah. Well. Which one is the, this day and age,
Starting point is 01:08:11 beep, boop, ba, but a beep, but that's family matters. Is that, that's the one that's the one that kept popping in my head. What was the one you did on your, when you would shoot on your tour and you did a... Oh, yeah, yeah. I think that was the full house one. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:23 They did like a spoof of it. Yeah, we did a spoof of it. And now I can't think... Everywhere you look. Step by step had a good one, too. Yeah. I can't remember it, but step by step by step. That's all you need.
Starting point is 01:08:34 Day by... day fresh start all I'll be honest I thought you're giving me new kids on the block first and I was like step by step
Starting point is 01:08:43 well make it better the second time around I think step by step because they were like step siblings right right right
Starting point is 01:08:51 and they that was a good cast I'll tell you what I didn't like it's fun Patrick Duffy Suzanne Summers they were good yeah
Starting point is 01:09:01 that was a good show isn't that show connected to another show? Isn't there something? Like a spin-off or something? Maybe it's three's company spinoff after Susan Summers has been through a couple of marriages.
Starting point is 01:09:15 Step by step, it coexisted in the same universe as Family Matters in Full House. Oh, interesting. There was a crossover episode where Steve Urquell launched himself in a jetpack. Both shows have jumped the shark
Starting point is 01:09:30 by this point. And the jetpack crashed into the Lambert Foster household in Wisconsin. Oh, that's funny. Happy Days theme song, that's another good one. Happy days. That's a, yeah. And Thrice Company.
Starting point is 01:09:41 Oh, yeah. Come and knock on our door. Yes, Threes Company. Oh, classic. Oh, yeah. Classic. Mm-hmm. All right.
Starting point is 01:09:49 That's the whole podcast. Thanks guys for tuning in. Thank you for having me. Speaking of a John of the Shark. But don't you feel like if a show's good, then the theme song just seems better because you love the show. Of course. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:06 Like, I really got, you're happy you're watching it. I really got into Succession on HBO a couple years ago. And I would, I could skip the intro if I wanted to, but I would watch it. You don't. Because I like it so much. And same with Game of Thrones. I would watch the- Sets the mood.
Starting point is 01:10:19 Oh, here's a good one. Oh, finally. What about Monk? Oh, it's a jungle out there. I don't know that. Randy Newman. Yeah, Randy Newman. Monk?
Starting point is 01:10:29 I didn't get down with Monk. People think I'm crazy. We're out of time. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's a great song. It's a jungle out there. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:39 Yeah. You got a good ear. Thanks. Appreciate that. You sing? It's nice to a little bit, just on this podcast mostly. But the, the, you never watch Monk? No.
Starting point is 01:10:48 You got to give it. Just give one episode ago. All right. Just one episode. There's another show. I've given an episode too. I've given multiple and I just couldn't get down. I think it might have been Game of Thrones.
Starting point is 01:10:57 No, I've never watched Game of Thrones. What is a popular one and I'm like, I just can't get down with it. Monk is. light, it's fun. You're not going to get, you don't have to watch every episode. He's a detective. Oh, I like detective. You don't, you don't have to, it's a little, it's comedy. He's a detective
Starting point is 01:11:13 with severe OCD. Oh, oh, oh. L.A. Law doesn't really have one, does it? What? Does L.A. Law have a theme song? L.A. Law, what year are you? Are you talking about Law and Order SVU? Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry. They're all the same to me.
Starting point is 01:11:27 I don't know. Yes, it does have a theme song. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's one of my ringtones. Sorry, I was trying to connect with you. Thank you. I got ridiculed for trying to connect. All right.
Starting point is 01:11:41 Never try to connect. Never try to connect. Well, I'm going to try again. Because I was at the baseball game with these guys this weekend, and I saw their children. And I thought about your new special, ugly baby. Thank you. Why, which one's ugly?
Starting point is 01:11:57 I'm not going to say which one, but we all know there's one in the group, right? That's kind of the point of your story. special. I'm joking. I'm joking. I'm joking. Brian.
Starting point is 01:12:08 Just trying to. Brian's a sniper, man. He's trying to connect at our expense. Yeah, that's right. That's what I did. Expensive as co-host. Whatever it takes, Brian. No one's ever taking a shot at me.
Starting point is 01:12:18 Yes. Well done, Pete. But no, your special is called Ugly Baby. It is. And how many people out there do you think have an ugly baby? A lot more than are willing to admit, is what I've learned. Do you think that people should be saying it? They should be going, take a look at my baby.
Starting point is 01:12:35 I know he's ugly, but check it out. Do you mean when they're showing pictures to friends? Well, I mean. I didn't know if the scenario you just painted was them like going to a doctor and going, look, my baby's ugly, do something about it. But you're saying just prepping people for. Yeah, I mean, she says more than they're willing to admit. I don't think it needs to be prepped.
Starting point is 01:12:54 But I have had friends who have ugly babies that do not know. they're like in denial because not that somebody's saying hey your baby's ugly they're like no they're not but i had a friend tell me one time that oh my gosh my baby was so beautiful when they were born like gorgeous and i saw her baby when just name names hey i don't know that any baby is beautiful when they're born like the moment they come out that's a tough moment it's a squishy moment they've been through a Yeah. It's tough to be like judging their beauty. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:37 Yeah. You ever wake up and been on camera right away? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you're swollen. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But you got a couple months. Yeah, we don't think our baby is super cute when they're born. But Erin and I both said we look back at photos of our child.
Starting point is 01:13:51 And I'm like, I don't even remember her looking like that. It is amazing how blinded you are. Yeah. The love for your own child, right? I remember pictures of my baby when she was young. And I was like, this is the cutest baby ever. And I think she's very cute now. And I look, but, you know, she had some health problems and things first.
Starting point is 01:14:09 She was all banged up and the pictures are bad. And I know she was being overfed by the feeding tube that we had. And I look back now, I'm like, yo, it's a terrible picture. But I remember thinking, wow, what a great picture of this baby, right? We're all just blinded by love. Uh-huh. That's what it is. People are blinded by love.
Starting point is 01:14:27 I think you're a little too hard of your baby just then. You're like, what do you mean? Going in. I'm like, she was fat. She was ugly. No, no, no. She wasn't that bad. She was disgusting.
Starting point is 01:14:38 No, that's not. I want to be very clear. I never said any of that. Well, babies, you know, they can really put on some baby weight, you know? Baby weight is cute. You're feeding them because you're like, this is how they go to sleep. I love a chunky baby. Eat, eat, eat.
Starting point is 01:14:51 Yeah. People would say that about my babies. They would go, oh, real chunky baby. And he'd go, what do you want a malnourished baby? You'd be to bring you a real thin baby. Go, look at that. We barely think. Right, right.
Starting point is 01:15:02 Come on. Watch his elbows. Your outdoor space is important and should feel like you. Abigail, friend of the podcast, producer of the podcast, she just bought a new house and had to get the space on the outside to match how she decorated the inside. I did. So there's my picture. There's my rug. I was going for like modern slash farmhouse style.
Starting point is 01:15:31 Wayfair came in and pulled my idea together. I had this table, but it just felt like something was off. I looked into Wayfair, and I got this beautiful rug. It pulled the entire space together, I think so. And now it's one of my favorite places to be. Look how cute it is. I also got a bird feeder. That's how much stuff Wayfar has, just like from bird feeders to rugs.
Starting point is 01:15:53 A little bit of everything. It looks great. And Wayfair has it all in one place. Outdoor seating, grills, major appliances, storage, patio lighting, rugs, decor. Wayfair is your one-stop shop for home. Over 20 million verified five-star reviews help you make the right call.
Starting point is 01:16:09 Real customers, real feedback, real homes. Get prepped for patio season for way less. Head to Wayfair.com right now to shop all things home. That's W-A-Y-F-A-I-R.com. Wayfair. Every style, every home. Wayfair, every style,
Starting point is 01:16:27 every home. You just, so your special just came out last week, Yeah. Angry baby. Congratulations. Thank you. Crazy amount of views. It's doing our right.
Starting point is 01:16:38 Can you pull it up, please? Mm-hmm. Can you give me one more view really quick? Mm-hmm. I looked this morning. It's like, what, 700,000? No, is it? I thought it was like five something.
Starting point is 01:16:49 600,000 right here. Oh, right. You were looking at her subscribers. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Her subscribers are 1.7 or something. All right. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:01 So we're doing all right. And, you know, self-produced, self-finance, self-directed, everything. I did it all this time. Where did you film this at? This is at the L. Ray Theater in Los Angeles, California. All right. And you got this thing out quick.
Starting point is 01:17:19 Yeah. It was a little stressful, for sure. My last special we filmed in October and it didn't come out until May. This one we filmed in February and came out in May. So we were hustling. And it was the end of February. Yeah, it was February 28th, I think. So you put out a new hour pretty fast.
Starting point is 01:17:39 Well, it took me three years to write it, but I filmed it and edited and all of that kind of stuff. Oh, yeah. Yeah, you get to my favorite part. No, no. So, okay, when you said October or whatever. That was my last one. But years ago. Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 01:17:55 Two, two, I think. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. 22. Keep going, Aaron. We're getting there. we're going through the special thanks right keep going are you in here just keep going oh oh look at that
Starting point is 01:18:08 it's my favorite part of special all right boy bates okay Ron Hortman there too yeah Ron Hortman all right now when Nate taped one of his specials Aaron was there for it and there was a guy sitting in front of him who was what channing saying every line repeating Nate he he was enjoying the show but then he would hear a joke and then converse about it with the guy next to him. So annoying.
Starting point is 01:18:33 After it. And Aaron finally put his hand on his shoulder and said, enough. I did. Thank you. Thank you for doing that. I shut it down, man. And you had something kind of similar at yourself? Yeah, yeah, I did.
Starting point is 01:18:41 Mine was like a lady who had too much alcohol. She was in the front row. And I thought she was doing that with her friend next door. It turns out that wasn't even her friend. It was just she came with this guy and she had too much to drink. After everything I would say, she would have something to say about it. Right. And it wasn't loud enough to where the whole audience could.
Starting point is 01:18:59 hear. She was in the front. So only I could hear in like a few people around. And that is the worst. It is the worst. Because then you look, you look insane. Exactly. So bad. So what happens is for everybody listening and watching at home, this is what happens. Everybody else in the theater is having a great time. When you stop the energy to address a heckler or somebody that nobody knew about, it's jarring. So you took the energy from way up here. We're having a great time to just like pop the balloon. everything sucked out. And it's like, and now people are like, oh, she's reprimanding somebody. Oh, somebody's getting in trouble. It immediately changes the energy, changes the vibe. But I had to shut it down because she was distracting me. And then I started delivering my jokes angry because I was
Starting point is 01:19:47 annoyed by her. Your whole energy shifted. And I go, I got to stop her because I'm going to record myself in a way that I don't want to be recorded. So I'm just going to stop her and hope that everybody in the audience rides with me after this. So I had to stop it. And I had to stop it. it and then made some joke about, okay, everybody, pretend like you still have good energy. And then they laughed and then I just jumped right back in. Yeah. But it was too late. What about the lady?
Starting point is 01:20:08 Did you have to leave? No. And that was a thing, too, is I gave her, like, options. I didn't want to, like, be mean about it and be like, get out. But also I need her to stop. So I was like, do you want to sit in the back? You can sit in the back and chat with your man if you want. Like, go sit in the back and nobody could hear you.
Starting point is 01:20:25 That's fine. But she was just, like, drunk and like, you know, whatever. So it's like, okay, well, just if you're going to stay here, just be quiet. You could laugh, but don't talk anymore. And then at that point, I have Danielle and, like, security, like, waiting to, but they don't know what to do at that point because we're taping. They can't just come right in the front row and, like, stop it. That could be fun for a special, though.
Starting point is 01:20:45 Yeah. If someone got kicked out of my show during the special, I'd think I might try to keep it in. Keep it in. That would be kind of funny. It happened to Eddie Murphy special. Really? Yeah. And they left it all in.
Starting point is 01:20:57 Yeah. Yeah, one of the delirious or raw, one of those. Somebody yelled out something. I don't remember that. Yep. A couple Bill Burr albums, the same thing happened, got left it in. I hosted an album taking much lower stakes than your show, but it was just like some comics were recording an album, and I hosted it for him, and a guy in the crowd had an annoying laugh.
Starting point is 01:21:17 Oh, no. And I said, you've got to leave. I go, you're going to ruin the whole thing. I think I remember this. You were there probably, right? What did you say? What was it at? Come follow me.
Starting point is 01:21:26 Coast. Okay. The annoying laugh is the worst, too. And I knew who it was. It's a guy that we liked and knew, but he just had an annoying laugh. So you got to shut it down or you got to leave. Yeah. Did he shut it down?
Starting point is 01:21:36 I think he left. I heard him. But you're a real one for that. I was like, I got to be mean so that they don't have to be mean. You're a real one for that. I appreciate that. Never saw that guy again. I haven't seen him in a middle years.
Starting point is 01:21:51 Maria Banford, there was an album I listened to with her. And she said that to an audience member. Like she was like, I appreciate you laughing, but your laugh is throwing me off. You got to stop it. Yeah, that's tough. Because people think, oh, I'm just laughing. And it's like, yeah, but you're laughing wrong. Don't laugh like that.
Starting point is 01:22:12 Ever. And you've got to be careful if you can't see that person because sometimes they might have something special going on. Oh, right. I hear what you say. And you yell out into the void and then, ugh. But even then, especially if you're recording something, it's like... Well, recording's different. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:28 Yeah. Well, congratulations. Thank you. I appreciate it. Worked really hard on it. And, you know, would love for everybody to watch it. Look at Dave Chamband. Oh, David Shambaynobin.
Starting point is 01:22:41 He edited Dusting. He edited mine, yeah. He's great. David's the best. I went and sat with him and we went through. I was like, I thank you so much for going through piece by piece with. I was so nitpicky. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:52 And I'm like, can you show me every camera? angle possible for this shot because I am not liking it and we went through a bunch of times did like slow pushing did all these different things too I'm like all right let's figure something else out and he was right with me the whole time so grateful you know David used to do comedy here in Nashville when I moved here he was on the open mic saying yeah that's fun I forgot about that yeah yeah yeah it's cool it's great um all right so but exciting news that were very exciting what could be more exciting than ugly baby I know your podcast fungula that's coming over to the Nate Land Network.
Starting point is 01:23:26 Look at there. Welcome. Welcome aboard. Thank you. Very exciting. Thank you, everybody. So tell us about fungla. What can we expect?
Starting point is 01:23:37 Okay, so fungola, it's my, the premise of my podcast is gratitude. And it's a mental health and comedy podcast. And the reason why it's a mental health podcast is because gratitude is one of my tools that I use for my mental health for whenever I'm struggling, anxiety, depressed. whatever it may be. Should listen to this. The gratitude is one of my tools that I use. And when you practice gratitude, it helps change your perspective, change your energy,
Starting point is 01:24:03 raise your vibration. So what we do is we start with a maditude, and that's the thing that makes you mad. Like what gets on your nerves, what annoys you, what makes you mad? That's your maditude. And then we move into gratitude. And we talk about five things that we're grateful for. Sometimes we don't even get to the five because each thing leads to another story, another story that we start talking about your life.
Starting point is 01:24:24 And we get to know each guest through the lens of gratitude, finding out what they're grateful for throughout their life, whether it's something that happened in kindergarten or something that happened yesterday in the parking lot at Kroger's. Like, whatever it is that somebody is grateful for, we get to know them through that lens. And it comes out every Tuesday. It's called fungula.
Starting point is 01:24:45 And yeah, and we're super excited to be a part of the Nateland family. Awesome. All right. Love that. So could Dusty instead switch it and do five matitudes? Five things that are annoyed him this week? Yeah. Ready?
Starting point is 01:24:58 Well, yeah, I mean, this... Where do you start? Right? Just walk around out here. And, but there's plenty to be grateful for. I love that. This very biblical based where it's like, you know, in prayer, when you're praying, pray, you know, give thanks.
Starting point is 01:25:14 Yeah. And not just what, let me ask God for things. Yeah. Be thankful for the many things that you have. Totally. And also just really helps change your perspective on things because every single one of us can get into a mood where we're like, oh, man, why me if something's happening to you? Like you got bad news after bad news and you're like, why is this happening to me? But then if you shift your perspective for a second and search for some gratitude within your life, well, thankfully it's not blah, blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 01:25:48 Thankfully, I don't have to blah, blah, blah, blah. And then you immediately start changing your perspective from this, like, negative place to looking up. Kind of like even a simple visual is you have your camera and you're looking down. You're going to see all your chins. All your chins are right here because you're looking down. But when you start looking up, hey, angles, let's go. She looks good when she looks up. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:26:11 Same kind of thing. You know, St. Augustine describes sin as collapsing into. yourself. Oh. Sort of the metaphorically, but also just the example you gave, a lot of times we see it now, it is a physical collapsing into yourself on your phone or whatever else, right? So there is something really meaningful about just opening up, opening up to the world. That's a great visual.
Starting point is 01:26:39 There's a, you know, I get into Native American. I can't stand you right now. Symmetry. And there are two wolves inside all. of us. I can't see it. Did you know that, Dusty? I didn't know that.
Starting point is 01:26:51 There are two wolves instead of all of us. You too? Yeah. Well, yeah. Okay. All of us. Two wolves? Yes.
Starting point is 01:26:57 Not in you. One is angry and spiteful. Okay. And the other one is happy and grateful. And they're constantly fighting each other. Okay. And the little boy, there was a grandfather telling the story. And his little boy said, well, which one wins?
Starting point is 01:27:15 And he said, the one you feed. Wow. How about that? We are profound on this podcast. That really took a turn it away. I like that. Powerful stuff. I like that.
Starting point is 01:27:25 Yeah, I was ready to make fun of that. I thought it was a joke. Well, you may start with the matitude? Yeah, let's do it. Let's go around the table and do our matitudes and gratitude. Now, I was on her podcast this week, and I shared, can I just share those real fast? Please, please. I shared hotel rooms that still don't have a plug by your nightstand.
Starting point is 01:27:46 Ridiculous. For your phone. Unbelievable. What do you think we're doing in there? Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Played chess. And then I shared, we took our daughter to see Peppa Pig and it still didn't start on time.
Starting point is 01:27:59 You know, it's the first time she's ever set in a movie and they show all the previews. And some of them were intense. They were like intense movie previews. So that's kind of... Like know your audience. These are kids that are watching this. Usually they do tailor it to the movie that's coming out. And I'm not saying it was like scary.
Starting point is 01:28:15 It was Superman. Like, it was last summer with Superman was... can be scary for kids. It's intense. But the pepah, like what is as or less intense as pepah pig, there's not much to show, right? So then we skip it. How about just show some popcorn ads? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Then skip it. Right. Yeah. All right. So this week. So now that the days are getting longer, which I like that, but it didn't get dark to like eight o'clock, these, and we put our daughter to bed, you know, start putting her bed around 730 or so. Uh, these long. These long services, which I know they have a business, but they will work right up until
Starting point is 01:28:52 sundown. So we're trying to get our daughter to bed and they're running the leafblower. They're running the, I hate a leaf blower. They're running the lawnmower. And it's so loud around this. And I'm like, I understand it technically can do it. How about stopping at least by six? So that's mine. Yeah, yeah. I don't want people to have a successful business. I agree with you. Just get started earlier and also don't run the leaf blower. You'd rather the leaf blow. Ever. Why are you so passionate about leaf blow? It's just so loud.
Starting point is 01:29:21 And then if it's not electric, once I, you know, listen, I support gas-powered things. But it's, it's feel, like you can just smell it in the, and it's like, I'm just trying to enjoy a nice day out on the porch. And then it's just smelling everywhere. And it's like, what are you doing? What are you doing? Why are you doing this? Moving leaves, man. Would you rather them rake?
Starting point is 01:29:43 I'd rather them rake. Remember raking? Sweat. Rake, sweep. Cut it up with a lawmore. It's faster. Lawmower is just as loud, isn't it? But it's faster, though.
Starting point is 01:29:53 Really? Just knock it out. Okay. What about mowing it and then leaf blowing? That's what they do now. I hate it. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 01:30:03 So that's my matitude. All right. I support you. Thank you, Dusty. I thought you would. Let's go, Aaron. What's your mattitude this week? I'm really, I'm grateful for everything.
Starting point is 01:30:13 So I don't really have mad. I don't really have maditudes. Nothing made you mad this. past week. Dusty, you'll take yours. Nothing made you go, ugh.
Starting point is 01:30:21 You know what? I really, uh, I hate to just do an airport thing because I feel like we complained about the airport all the time, but it's where we spend so much of our lives. Yeah, it's true.
Starting point is 01:30:30 I really think there needs to be some sort of class on how to walk around in the airport. Okay. I mean, I've just, I bumped into so many people this week because people just walk and they get trapped in this little, my whole world is right here, right?
Starting point is 01:30:44 I got these blinders on and they forget there's a flow of people, behind them walking. I'm just walking into old. They're just walking, laity da, stop and look at the phone. You're in a society. You're in a civilization. Be a part of it. We need you out here. Be a part of this. Yeah. It's a living, beating thing this world. You know? I love that you kind of turn that into a positive a little bit. We need you out here. We do. You kind of save lives out here. You know, and then the headphones, you know, a lot of it is these guys have, they have headphones on. headphones when we need you to to be aware of what's happening it's a real scourge yeah the headphones I really think headphones are a net bad on the world because I think like we were talking about
Starting point is 01:31:27 earlier I think it also forces I don't know if it's good to just go hey let me retreat into my own little world here you know to heck with everybody else I got my headphones on I got my little thing let me just walk you know don't have to worry about other people yeah there you go. That's a good one. Yeah. What scourge mean? Like a plague. Oh. Yeah. One of his, can I interrupt, one of his biggest, which I think we all agree with, is the people at the baggage claim, they get right up by the carousel. Oh, yeah, yeah. So it blocks everybody from seeing. Dude, Fort Lauderdale. It was like, it was a zoo, the baggage claim. It's so annoying. You go, if we, and I wanted, and I, and I, I, I'm not courageous enough to, to say something to
Starting point is 01:32:07 everybody, but I'll go, you know, we should all back up a little bit, you know, we should back up. Is everybody back up? But 10 feet back, let's do it. Some airports, they have a little line there by the baggage claim, but nobody obeys that. And if you have to tell them, then they're never going to get it. They're just going to go, this guy's so annoying. You guys trying to control people at the baggage claim. Don't tell me where to stand, buddy.
Starting point is 01:32:31 I'll stand wherever I want. And they'll be on a podcast going, this is what I hate, but I'm at the baggage claim. I'm just waiting on my back. Some guys like, stand back. Like, hey, we're all waiting on a bag, buddy. But I get it. Yeah. But now I'm trapped in this thing, right?
Starting point is 01:32:46 Like I go, I'll stand back, you know, but now it's tough to see my bags. But I'm not making any change in the world. Because they're in front of you. They don't see you. Right. So I'm way back there. And I go, I'm doing what's right, but nobody else is. So now, in order for me to have a competitive advantage in this terrible world they've created,
Starting point is 01:33:04 I have to myself walk up there in front of the bag. So the only way to win is to play by the rules they've created. It gets me in a spiral there. But once I leave the airport, I'm great. Yeah. As soon as I get my bag, I will make a thing out of it. I go, sorry, that's my bag. Couldn't see it back there because everybody up there.
Starting point is 01:33:21 I like that. I'll say that. I like that. Sorry, can you all excuse me? That's my bag. I've been waiting on it back there where you're supposed to be. Thanks. But there where you're supposed to be?
Starting point is 01:33:29 Get out of here, Penny. Something like that. I think that's the way to go. Sorry, I've been saying you had your headphones in, couldn't hear me, but that's my bag. Yeah. I like that. That's a good one. I like that.
Starting point is 01:33:40 That's a real good attitude. Okay. Yay. Let me ask you guys something. Sure. Have you ever checked your bank statement and realized you were paying for something you completely forgot about? Every day. Or even worse, paying for it twice? Yes.
Starting point is 01:33:56 Even worse than that, three times. Hold on. I keep going. I just found out I was paying for Hulu twice. Can you believe that? Yeah. I found out because I use rocket money. Good.
Starting point is 01:34:08 And rocket money really just helps out a lot with that kind of. stuff, you know, sometimes, you know, you forget that you're paying for something and then you install Rocket Money and then you're like, oh, well, that cleared that up. And it tells you what you were paying twice. It does. And then you're able to, through them, they can get, you know, you can. It's not vague about it. I'm sorry, I wasn't ready for the ad lib.
Starting point is 01:34:35 We love Rocket Money. And we do love it. Like, uh, how, how am I supposed to ad lib better than that paragraph? That's a good paragraph. Let's see, vamp, vamp, FAMP, Rocket Money is good. It helps.

Let Rocket Money help you reach your financial goals faster. Try it for $0 at RocketMoney.com slash Nate. That's RocketMoney.com slash Nate, RocketMoney.com slash Nate. About you, Dusty. I hate littering, you know, because, you know what I mean? Like today I was sitting.
Starting point is 01:36:09 That's a thing, right? I don't support the narratives of global warming and climate change. Okay. But I just, I don't want us to just throw our trash on the ground. Why? Why not? Well, it's, it, first off, it looks bad. Oh, okay. Just to have trash everywhere. I thought you were deeper in that. Nope. Well. What do you mean? No. You don't like how things look. I don't know why you're attacking me. I'm trying to have fun. I don't know. I'm just trying to have fun. You don't like litter. I'm very pro-liter.
Starting point is 01:36:40 Let me just say that. Nobody likes looking at litter. Of course. Although people, I don't think a lot of people, it registers with them that they don't like it. A lot of people just think, I'm going to throw this down and somebody else will pick this up. I was waiting to turn into the Home Depot today. And a guy in front of me just throws his wrapper out the window. I followed the guy around the parking.
Starting point is 01:37:06 He was, he made the worst, like trying to park. I go, does this guy think I'm following him or something? He's trying to lose me. Yeah. Because I followed him. Because he was right. And I didn't say anything in the end, but I just wanted to see what he looked like. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:23 Right. I just wanted to see what the guy looked like that just would throw his trash right out the window. What do you look like? I'm not going to tell you, but he's going into, he didn't look like me. But he's going into the Home Depot. all you got to do every home depot, every lows, there's trash cans waiting for you.
Starting point is 01:37:41 Just hang on to it, throw it away in there. Throw it in the floorboard of your own car. I leave it there for months. Yeah, when you go to the gas station, gather it up, throw it in the trash can. Of course. But this idea that, like, I live in Hermitage, and when you get off the interstate,
Starting point is 01:37:56 and you go, you take a right, and you go past the gas stations, and then before you get to the red light at the end, there's always like a full track. has been thrown out of someone's car. It's busted all over the street. Yeah. And somebody has to come along and clean it up.
Starting point is 01:38:13 I just don't understand what's going on. Well, let me, let me steal me on the other side for you. Okay? Okay. We live in a world that's incredibly polluted in ways that the problem's gotten away from us, right? My one little... Like their minds and their souls?
Starting point is 01:38:29 My one little piece of trash at the car is less than a drop in the bucket. And the inconvenience that it is to me to hold on to this trash, me, it's not worth, I'm not going to fix all the whole world, right? I'm not going to fix the whole world. So this means nothing. And it's not actually contributing to the problem overall, right? Because it's so bad. That's how I feel when I'm waiting for my bag at baggage claim.
Starting point is 01:39:01 I go, I know my bag's going to be last. and I could stand away back there, but I don't want to walk up when it finally comes. I want to be in position, ready to go, despite, because overall, who's it really hurting, you know? You ever have to play counselor on your podcast? Yeah, not yet.
Starting point is 01:39:21 This is the first time. I have a good littering story for you that you might feel good about. Pro-littering or anti-litering? Okay, I'll sit this one out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, this one makes me feel like that. I'm against littering, by the way.
Starting point is 01:39:33 I'll make that clear. Sure. Sure. Let's go check around his car out there. My car's not a good indicator of that. So my brother was driving one time, and he's at a stoplight, and the car in front of him rolls down the window, throws a full bag of fast food out the window.
Starting point is 01:39:53 It wasn't even like a gum wrapper or something, which is still, don't throw your gum wrapper. Just put it in your trash in your car. And like you said, do it later. through a full trash out the window. Jeez. My brother, behind him, puts his car and park, goes and grabs the guy's bag and knocks on the window. And he says, you drop this.
Starting point is 01:40:15 Wow. And he gave it back to him. I love that. Wow. That was a long time ago. Now people carry guns and stuff. Yeah, I was going to say. But I do remember that story.
Starting point is 01:40:25 And my brother, he also does not like littering at all. I don't either. What brand of fast food was it, do you know? I think that we're going to, I think that is important to the story. And the problem is the guy who got the fast food bag, he wasn't like, he didn't, he didn't self-reflect. Oh, you know what? I shouldn't be littering. He goes, who's this guy?
Starting point is 01:40:46 I think he is telling me that I can't, I pay taxes in this city. I can throw my trash down if I want to. Just a fast food bag. It'll break down in 15 years. 15,000 years. Is your brother a big guy? No. Oh.
Starting point is 01:41:02 He's just bold. Just a man of conviction. Just very bold. Yeah. He does have a lot of tattoos, though, so maybe that's scary. That would scare me. No. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:41:11 I'm okay. I'll tell you what I'm okay with littering. Crumbs. Yeah. Like any food products. Food because the bird's going to come eat it. Like I will dust off my daughter's stroller, all her crumbs. Right.
Starting point is 01:41:22 For sure. That's for the birds. Yeah. What about a piece of gum? You throw that out the window? Okay. If I'm going to do a piece of, piece of gum, and I have nowhere to put it. I have no paper or nothing to put it in. I will put it
Starting point is 01:41:36 somewhere where I know nobody's going to step. Okay. You know what I'm saying? I'm very, because I cannot stand stepping on gum. I'm like, that is so rude. People walk on the sidewalk, you'll put gum right there. Right. I will go put my gum like under a rock or something. I'll bury it. Yeah, yeah. I won't, I won't just leave my gum out there. But I will, it's, you know, out there on earth. When I sold cigars in public and there's nowhere to throw the butt, I like to, I throw it on the ground and then I stomp on it and I try to rub it out of existence. You just turned it into a stain on the ground. Yeah, just disappeared.
Starting point is 01:42:13 Well, I figured the rain will come. Yeah, yeah, that's good. These are good baditudes, you guys. Let's move into gratitude now that we're all worked up here. I do like how you started by saying that you didn't really feel like you had a. And I knew that that was a joke. but the more you got into the baggage thing. I didn't know I get that fired up.
Starting point is 01:42:32 Yeah. I got worked up pretty bad this weekend. I felt it. The Fort Lauderdale one was some of the worst behaved people at an airport I've seen in a long time. Yeah. And then I'm not perfect. I do things wrong all the time, right? But.
Starting point is 01:42:45 Right. All right. Oh, I thought that was. Let's be able to gratitude, shall we? Be what are you grateful for this? past week. Well, I mean, this kind of seems obvious. Maybe not even, you're like, come on. But I'm grateful that I made it in Nate's movie because there was a good chance we were going to be on the chopping block. I thought we were for sure. Yeah. And I think Nate probably fought to keep us in it because
Starting point is 01:43:15 our role, as we've already said, was not pivotal to the plot. Right. But, you know, obviously I was excited about being in a movie small or not. So I'm very grateful that Nate kept me in his movie. Yeah. I've been on a chopping block before. I'm sure it's not fun. It's not fun. Especially when you've invited friends to come over and watch it.
Starting point is 01:43:37 Oh, man. And you had a little viewing party at your house. For a TV show? Yeah. And you were cut out and you didn't now. Oh. Yeah. Can I ask what show?
Starting point is 01:43:46 Oh, yeah. It was, um, why am I blanking on the name? It was my first co-star role. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Can you go? my IMDB really?
Starting point is 01:43:59 Yeah, yeah, absolutely. My brain just blanked. It's a very... Yeah. Oh. And the funny... And I got another story. Remind me to tell you
Starting point is 01:44:09 the IMDB story about this show, too. Okay. Okay. Before that? You're... No, go up more. The box.
Starting point is 01:44:21 Is that Cameron Diaz? No. Ugly Betty. Oh, maybe it's not on there anymore. About a boy? It's a crime show. Uh, bald guy back in the day, detective, gritty, bald guy. The shield?
Starting point is 01:44:34 The shield. Wow. Oh my, and it's not on there anymore. It used to be on there. No, I didn't see it. Even IMDV was like, she's not in this. Exactly. But it used to be, or it was on my bio or something.
Starting point is 01:44:47 Anyway, so the shield. You're almost reliving it again right now. I know. I just got cut again. Yeah. A little viewing party right here. What is the name? Rickles?
Starting point is 01:44:56 Don Rickles? Is that his name? No. No? No? Who's Rick? Anyway. I forgot his name.
Starting point is 01:45:02 So anyway, I is my first. Don Rickles in the Shield. What's his name? Chickles. Chickles. Chickles. Chickles. Michael Chickles.
Starting point is 01:45:10 Okay. I love the idea that the shield is Don Rickles. Holy Ghost. Oh, my God. I was like, too many names. I'll tell you this. We're coming in and out of my brain. So I book, it was my first co-star role that I booked.
Starting point is 01:45:26 I audition for. Oh my gosh. take it back all the way to the audition story. I crashed the audition. I lied on my resume to even get this audition. And while I'm auditioning for this role, the casting director is reading my resume. And she was like, oh, you were on? And she named a show that was a lie.
Starting point is 01:45:45 And I was like, she was like, oh, you were on CSI? And I was like, yeah. And she goes, that's funny. I cast that show. I don't remember you. Oh. Yeah. You got to pay better attention to your clients.
Starting point is 01:45:58 You go. Well, you know what? I don't remember you. It was one of those moments where I was like, huh, that's weird. I don't know. Did my audition, ended up booking it. So that one I did book. Wow.
Starting point is 01:46:10 And that was The Shield. I play a homeless teenager. And it's the last scene of the movie. And. Of the episode? Yeah. Excuse me of the episode. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:46:22 It's the last scene of the episode. I'm a homeless teenager. Exactly. The guy is. God, Rickles. I'm sorry. Get out of here. I couldn't remember any.
Starting point is 01:46:32 So he's asking me, the detective is, I'm not chickless, Rickles. The different other detective is asking me if I've seen this guy, blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, can I bum a cigarette? And I start asking him for a cigarette. And he's like trying to help me because I'm this homeless kid on the streets. And then I just ignore. I'm like, whatever. Get out of here, man.
Starting point is 01:46:52 And that was my big scene. Yeah. And I was like, oh my gosh. I'm on an award for this because I'm still. good. Woo-woo. I have a preview party at my house. I'm by all my friends. I have a picture of this night with all of us sitting on the couch ready to watch my episode and we're watching it. And I know my scene's the last scene of the episode. And you know how sometimes when you're watching a show and it's right before the 10 o'clock news, the news pops up. Yes. Right at the end.
Starting point is 01:47:20 On the side. And then it's just like it's like the credits are rolling. That is happening. and I didn't get to see my scene yet and I was like, wait, wait, how are we already on the news? My scene hasn't come on yet and they cut it. Wow. Yeah, chopping. I feel like they should tell you if you get cut. They should, right?
Starting point is 01:47:38 They should. They didn't. That sounds like me about 2015 last comic standing. I mean, that's, you know, there's no guarantee that I would be there. But, you know, I was on that episode. Oh. So you had to watch and find out if you made the episode. Yes.
Starting point is 01:47:53 Yes. And you didn't make the episode. No. But I had, you know, five roommates at the time. We're all watching. Oh, man. And, uh. They showed you in the room, right?
Starting point is 01:48:01 Yeah, but not. No, no. But look at you now. Look at all these pictures of you. I know. I know. Incredible. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:48:09 Um, so yes, grateful that you didn't get on the chopping block because that would have sucked. Big time. For sure. Yeah. Yeah. That's a good gratitude. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:48:18 And you did really good in it. Thank you. I was so proud. I was cheering. Because I seen you were sitting behind me. You and Lucy were up here. And then you over there. I was like, I want to like do high fives and stuff.
Starting point is 01:48:27 Y'all are so good. Thank you. That was good. Okay, what's a gratitude? Probably the NASA space program. Just for inspiring. How we've come is a human race? Yeah, for just taking the next step into the Great Beyond.
Starting point is 01:48:45 Somebody's got to do it. Yeah. I'm glad they did. I'm glad to America. My real answer is going to sound like just a fat thing, but it's a, air conditioning. Yeah. I've been thinking about it a lot this past weekend.
Starting point is 01:48:58 It's starting to get a little hot in Nashville. And how grateful I am that I am in a position and I live in a place and a time where I can basically be in an air-conditioned room whenever I want. Yeah. And how for most of human civilization, if it was hot out, you just had to deal with it. Yeah. There is no way around it. You know, you might build your house a certain way where wind would funnel through it. You had to do all kinds of stuff like that.
Starting point is 01:49:25 Dude, I can make, if I want it to be 68 degrees in my house, I can do it on my phone. It takes two seconds. And we take it for granted until it goes out. And then you're like, oh, my gosh. Yeah. But this is how I've lived basically in my whole life. I can control the temperature of any room that I'm in. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:49:42 That's pretty crazy. Yeah. You know, and I'm grateful for it. It's luxurious. It's incredible. Yeah. It's incredible. Well, I feel like, no pun intended, but you're,
Starting point is 01:49:53 example kind of takes the wind out of my sales here. I hope that wasn't intended. That was terrible. Because I... Were you about to say air conditioning? No, I did think that today. Because I get into this idea of thinking about gratitude in things that we take for granted every day, right?
Starting point is 01:50:14 Because when you have big accomplishments or big things in life, like I've just had a baby, I'm thankful for that. Of course. Right? But it's like, it's easy to be thankful for all of these big things. But there are things every day that we utilize that some countries don't even have. Yeah, yeah. Totally.
Starting point is 01:50:35 And my gratitude was going to be running water. Like, if you've ever had a busted pipe and been without water for any amount of time in your house, you realize how much you use water all the time. To wash your hands, to drink, to drink, to, to take a shower to water your plants, to flush the toilet, to make ice. I mean, all day, you're using water. And it, like, in, and in all of our houses, we can turn, we have cold water. We have hot water.
Starting point is 01:51:07 You don't take a hot shower? Yeah. You realize how, I mean, the same with air conditioner. Like, like, there's an expression, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. And I'm told that that is because they, once a week, families would bathe. And they would start off with a hot bath. And the husband who would go and work would take the first bath. Yep.
Starting point is 01:51:29 And then the mom and then the kids. And then the last one to bathe would be the baby. And the water was so dirty at that point that they might lose the baby in the water. Now, I don't know if that's true. But that is where the expression comes from. But we have just, you know, maybe our water's poisoned. Who knows? But at least.
Starting point is 01:51:51 Does he's only one can switch his gratitude Before it's over with Maybe they are killing us all but guys But it's pretty amazing I was watering my plants today We haven't had rain in a while But I'm still able to water my plants Yeah yeah
Starting point is 01:52:08 You know I'm able to give my family a bath Run the slip and slide for my kids Oh so fun It's I don't know I just think And we subconsciously use it too Like you know you use water to your hands. But I think you don't realize how often you do that. We had our water turned off the other day. They were working on something. And my husband even told me, he's like, they're turning
Starting point is 01:52:30 the water off. And so in my brain, I was like, all right, so can't shower, can't whatever. And I think of like the big things. And then I'm making something to eat for my daughter. And I get stuff on my hands. And I go to rinse my hands. And I'm like, oh, oh, I can't even do that. Like just the thing that we don't even think about it. We just take it for granted. Yep. We flush the toilet with cleaner water than a lot of countries have to drink. Of course. I was talking to a guy from India, an older guy from India, and he was telling me the part of
Starting point is 01:53:02 India that he's from, they turn the water on one time a day at like 4 a.m. And everybody gets up and they have all their containers. And they turn the water on and you fill up all your containers and that's your water for the day. He's like, if you oversleep, you just don't have water that. Wow. So insane. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:53:23 That's wild. It's an embarrassment of riches here in a lot of ways. Yeah. Yeah. It really is. Look at that. These are really good gratitudes, you guys. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:53:33 I like this. This is fun. Well, we've got about five minutes before we wrap up. I don't know if we have time for rapid fire. Unless you really want a rapid fire. How rapid is it? Yeah, how rapid is. It's really just you guys, I'm going to give you a situation, a scenario.
Starting point is 01:53:50 and then you tell me if you would be grateful for it or mad about it. Would it be your matitude or would it be your gratitude? Okay. Okay. All right. All right. Someone replies, K, to your text. Matitude.
Starting point is 01:54:05 I really don't care, but I would say matitude. If it's somebody I know in love, it would annoy me. If it's a random person I don't want to talk to, I'd appreciate it. Yeah. That's a good one. That's a good one. Okay. Your server at the restaurant is almost too attentive.
Starting point is 01:54:23 Matitude. That annoysiness? Nah, I'm going gratitude. Too attentive is a little annoying, but I'll take it over. I hate it when I can't finish a story because they're coming over every two minutes and buttoned in. I'm like, this is the punchline. Everybody at your table appreciates it. They're waving them over.
Starting point is 01:54:42 So for Aaron, it's a gratitude toward me. All right, all right. All right, we'll do one last one. Okay, you see your friend post an Instagram story, but they still haven't texted you back. Again, Mattitude. That's dusty. I'm going to go.
Starting point is 01:54:57 I wouldn't even know when the story was posted versus have you responded to me. So you wouldn't be upset enough about not being texted back to look into it that much. Like you're not going to go see what they're doing online. I've been out to some people for things. Like I've hired people to do stuff. and they're not responding. And then I see they're on social media. And I go, dude, come on.
Starting point is 01:55:20 Yeah. I've had that. I don't know about a friend. I guess I don't have friendships like that. I think that would be hard to be a gratitude, though. Yeah. Yeah. You know?
Starting point is 01:55:30 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Well, you're not texting me back, but you're posting. Hey, and I'm happy to see you're still alive. That's true, man. I was worried about you. Yeah, I was worried. Thank God.
Starting point is 01:55:41 You are still alive. Won't he do it. Hope you didn't schedule the post. Well, Angela, thank you for coming. Yeah, you're the best. Thanks for doing that. Thank you guys. Starting point is 01:56:22 They give me a lot of B names. So, yeah, that's true. Sounds like a place that I wouldn't normally perform. But we'll see. You're taking a break right now, right? I am. I'm on a break. I've finished my tour.
Starting point is 01:56:34 So anything I'm talking about right now is just my special ugly baby. Awesome. Go check it out on YouTube now. All right. What about you, Aaron? I, uh, wow. Where am I going to be? Detroit. I'm doing the Comedy Castle. I've never done it before.

That's cool.
Starting point is 01:57:54 That's fun. Are you going to do that bit at the school? I don't know. I've not done it in a long time. I feel like they always think that that'll be good, but people at a country music show, they don't want it. Sometimes people don't laugh at themselves. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:58:07 Oh, man. I did a Raiders joke. Well, I had a joke about being a Raiderette, and I made a joke about the Raiders when we were in Oakland. at a charity event where the Oakland Raiders were at. They could not laugh at themselves. They didn't like it. So maybe don't do it.
Starting point is 01:58:23 Good call. I wanted to mention June 11th. I'm in Topeka, Kansas at the Beacon. And just added, go ahead, Desi finished, laughing at my dates. Just dad had never been there before. Heard you guys.
Starting point is 01:58:43 He's still going. It's like you've been doing it the whole time and we went around and then we came back and you're still listening. It hit me. I have some new dates I want to get out there.
Starting point is 01:58:53 You guys have been talking for years about the Grove and Lowell. Oh yeah. I'm finally going there. All right. June 12th, 13th. That's awesome. That's awesome.
Starting point is 01:59:02 In Lowell, Arkansas. June 20th. I'm at the Palace Theater in Gallatin, Tennessee. Look at that. All right. October 15th through the 17th. I'm in San Francisco.
