Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Nick DiPaolo on the Riotcast Network, good evening. Nick DiPaolo Show. How are you, folks? Monday. Fucking yuck. Monday evening. What are we going to talk about? Tennis?
Starting point is 00:00:44 The WNBA? I think they had a draft. Here's the thing about this show starting at 8. I'm already burnt out on the subject matter. I couldn't read another thing about the NFL and national anthems and ungrateful fucks. It's tiring. It's so tiring. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:01:03 But it fits this show perfectly,'t it that's when i the nick and arty show that's where i got the idea i said you know professional sports is a microcosm of our society because you know it's where race and gender everything meets politics and and this story is just, you know. Anyways, before I get to that, thank you to Robert Schlueter and to Luke Anderson donating to the Nick DiPaolo podcast. If you want to get the Nick DiPaolo pass, you go to connectpal.com slash Nick. Connectpal.com slash Nick. And for $3.99 a month, connectpal.com slash nick. And for $3.99 a month, you get five shows a week. One of them's free on iTunes on Monday and riotcast.com, etc.
Starting point is 00:01:56 And then we boil down the two hours here to one hour. And we release it as a podcast. People are still signing up. And you can donate on top of that, which these guys did. Thank you so much. connectpal.com slash Nick. And had a great weekend. I won't get into it. Maybe in between.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Top of the next hour. Went up to Boston. Had a small part. The legend Steve Sweeney from Boston. He's in a film called Sweeney Killing Sweeney. And one of the producers of the Fairley Brothers is involved with it. So maybe we'll see the light of day. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:02:30 But I played an angry hot dog vendor. I'm talking about, I'm doling out music advice. You don't even know I'm a hot dog vendor. I'm just holding a hot dog, I guess. And I'm talking to my buddy about the Grateful Dead for like 10 minutes. And then some kid's like, excuse me, can I get my, and I'm like, hey, what's your fucking problem? Trying to help my friend here.
Starting point is 00:02:48 Why don't you take your phone and look up your Insta dick account? And I kept bad livin' and I'd call him a name. I kept, every take I'd go, cheese dick, hey, leather lips, shut your hole. I just kept making, I'd go, hey, Sandusky's wet dream. He was like a kid in his 20s. I go, hey, Sandusky's wet dream. He was like a kid in his 20s. I had a new one for every, you know, it was a really, really fun scene.
Starting point is 00:03:12 I was like actually excited. Sweeney's a legend. And he's in, that was the final scene. He shot 90, he was in 93 scenes. And that was the final one. They've been shooting for almost a month. And I was privileged to do this because I wandered into a place called stitches comedy club on calm av in boston on a hot summer night like 1986 and steve sweeney was on stage and i went i want to do this for a living i never saw anybody make you know an
Starting point is 00:03:39 audience laugh so hard in my life ever and he was you know he's doing a lot of local provincial material but it was so brilliantly and just and i said i i gotta i want to i want to do this and then i became a bar back at that club for a few months and i was like in awe of this guy it's like you know it's like ted williams or whatever and then he they called and asked me if i wanted to do this thing and um jesus was it fun took a couple hours whatever anyways i said i was gonna do that the top of the second but i just did it breaking the first rule of radio where you're supposed to come at them hard with an opinion so those phones i've shot it it's my show i'll do what i want you big dinks 866-969-1969 is the phone number. This is me trying to watch the NFL on Sunday. I will say, can you see, by the dawn.
Starting point is 00:04:53 The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law, and then wants us to sing God bless America? No, no, no. Not God Bless America. God Damn America. That's in the Bible for killing innocent people. God Damn America for treating her citizens as less than human god damn america as long as she at the twilight and she is supreme who's brought stripes shut. What the hell's going on out here? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Ask Adele. I'll tell you what happened. A white guy, billionaire president, had the nerve to speak up and call out a bunch of ungrateful millionaires. But here's how I take it, folks. You know what? The protest is, hey, that's as American as apple pie. But here's how I take it, folks. You know what? The protest is, hey, that's as American as apple pie. They have every goddamn right to take a knee, sit down, stand on your head, grab your cock, whatever you want to do during the national anthem. And you know what? The president has every right to call you out on if he doesn't like it. But again, if it was ever any other president but Trump, because we've already labeled him a white supremacist and a fucking Nazi, he's still carrying the stink of charlottesville and the mainstream media made colin kaepernick a fucking martyr so it's a perfect storm i'm glad he did what he did oh he said son of a bitch he called some of the that means he's talking about their moms when's the last time we parsed the phrase son of a bitch 866-969-1969 866-969-1969. 866-969-1969.
Starting point is 00:06:46 You know, so... It's morphed into something. It's not about racial injustice. It's about hating Trump now. Half those brothers didn't even know what they were fucking kneeling for. Holding hands, black power. It's all about hating Trump. That's all it is.
Starting point is 00:07:04 That's what this has turned into they don't even fucking know why they're kneeling looks kind of silly you're making 10 bucks 10 million bucks a year oh let me get on a fucking knee it's kind of funny because he's a white billionaire and he's giving me black black young black millionaires shit and uh it's as american as apple pie let's play what he said in alabama And this happens to a lot of people. And it happens to comedians. You get in front of your own crowd, you'll say shit that, you know, you forget. You know, and Hillary does it.
Starting point is 00:07:33 All the politicians do it. You know, Hillary gets black in front of a black audience. And Trump is getting all fired up in front of, you know, Alabama. And this is what triggered it. Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out.
Starting point is 00:07:53 He's fired. He's fired. Oh, he said son of a bitch. That was Richard Fowler's take, that gay black dude who now he's a regular on Fox. He used to be on MSNBC all the time. But he's calling the players mothers, bitches, you know, fucking dogs. Really?
Starting point is 00:08:11 Is that? I don't even think Trump realizes that. That's how little of the language he's mastered. But that's what I knew. It's an anti-Trump thing. It's more anti-Trump than anything. I really believe that. But the media made fucking Kaepernick out to be a hero, you know. trump thing it's more more anti-trump than anything i really believe that but um
Starting point is 00:08:30 the media made fucking kaepernick out to be a hero you know and um when they say racial injustice what are we talking about exact institutional racism oh so when you say institutional racism by the way that means that uh you know you no longer have the obligation to point out specific cases the whole thing's race the whole system you don longer have the obligation to point out specific cases. The whole thing's race, the whole system. You don't have to actually, you're not responsible for proving, you know. It's so fucking tiring, and, but like I said, they have a right to do it. The Steelers, I guess, stayed in the locker room,
Starting point is 00:09:04 and you had Villanueva. How do you say Villanueva? Who was an Army Ranger. Three tours in Afghanistan. He had the audacity to stand outside the locker room with his hand over his heart. This guy risked his life.
Starting point is 00:09:19 And Tomlin, the coach, has a problem with that. So who's got the problem here, really? Give me an effing break. And, well, you know, so is this about cop brutality? Which, you know, again, when you look at the statistics,
Starting point is 00:09:36 yeah, it almost doesn't exist. Again, if you want to look at statistics and numbers, but if you want to get all emotional about it, and if you want to follow for the mainstream media's, you know, cherry-picking every time a black guy gets roughed up by a cop, and they show it around the clock on CNN, MSNBC, and they've created
Starting point is 00:09:52 this divisiveness, you know, but Trump, Trump's one has created all the, in the last six months, he's created all the... Could he have worded it better? I don't give a shit. He doesn't sound presidential. He's not. He's a businessman who won the presidency. Treat him like that. He doesn't sound... Well, he could do what Obama does and sound thoughtful and... Or he can go, you're fired. You're fired. he said what a zillion people are thinking has the nfl learned nothing i'm not i haven't even got to the hypocrisy of the nfl and what you can demonstrate what you can't demonstrate
Starting point is 00:10:30 we'll get to that in a few seconds but do you really think marshall lynch you really think he loves this country uh i had a nice tweet during the patriots game because they was stinking it up against the texans And I tweeted like on the second quarter I said yeah the entire Pat's defensive team Sat for the anthem And now they're laying down for the game They looked horseshit
Starting point is 00:10:56 Of course Thomas Brady The almighty Christ That guy are you kidding me I'd give him a handjob tonight if he walked in here If I had the energy but um there's some good articles uh the i think this is the wall street journal the uh politicization of everything exactly the nfl has to be shitting their pants the ratings are down you watched
Starting point is 00:11:22 espn with their liberal horse should hemorrhage money they're blading money and the nfl is right behind him i didn't know goodell's you know goodell's old man was like a senator from new york like a liberal senator or congressman from new york back in the day so that explains his stinky politics so um yeah so it's biting them in the ass. It's coming back to bite them in the ass. You got those games out in L.A. with no people in the audience. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:11:55 Can you imagine? They thought that city was clamoring. Yeah, we can have two teams here. You couldn't even have one? I think there were 17 people at the game there Sunday. But the whole thing, taking the knee and stuff, you're doing it at the wrong, I mean, if it's about the cops and injustice or whatever, first of all, how about the, how about the black people shooting each other at a rate never seen before in a lot of Chicago and other, isn't that really, should be the stink? Isn't that really should be the stink? They should be protesting like Rahm Emanuel and other shitty mayors.
Starting point is 00:12:29 Isn't that the real fucking problem? It really trumps the... But people are tired of it, man. I'm dying to see what the ratings will be next week. Again, the only reason I hang in there because somebody said last week, stop watching it if you don't like it. I'm a Patriots fan. I'm not going to watch Tom Brady. Even theady even the word patriot kind of ironic isn't it i mean i was a little disappointed in robert craft trump's friend all the owners had to take
Starting point is 00:12:57 a stance and defend their product so let's but somebody pointed out a great point about kaepernick remember when he when he thought he was going to get, remember when Pete Carroll took a look at him and a few other coaches? He thought he might get re-signed. Remember he said, I'm not going to kneel anymore? Remember that? That showed us true fucking colors, didn't it? Mm-hmm. But he is playing, Trump is playing the media like a violin.
Starting point is 00:13:23 He's playing them like a violin. I'm telling you, he's like an idiot savant. I think. But people have had enough, folks. And again, politics, you know. We go to games to get away from this stuff. We go to baseball, football, sporting events to get away from this stuff we go to baseball, football, sporting events to get away from this shit
Starting point is 00:13:49 everything is politicized now everything and the players, they all have a you know, now you got Twitter, you know, social media they all think they're congressmen and senators it's unbelievable but doesn't it all start seriously with the disintegration of the black family and stuff? That's what we should be focusing on.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Trying to... But whatever. But here's what else bugged me about this, Andy. NFL will not discipline those teams and players who refused to be on the field for the national anthem before games. There'll be no discipline handed down this week, Lockhart said. The NFL's executive vice president of communications and public affairs said in a conference call,
Starting point is 00:14:36 the Steelers, the Seahawks, Tennessee Titans were not on the field during the anthem. The NFL's game operations manual says that all players must be on the sideline for the national anthem. It also says failure to be on the field by the start of the national anthem may result in discipline. Except when race is involved. Then Whitey has to cave again. Chicken shit Whitey establishment has to cave again. Such as fines, suspensions, and or the forfeiture of draft choices
Starting point is 00:15:05 for the violations of the above, including first offenses. Oh, yeah. But they're not going to do that. I don't know, folks. Have you had enough? I mean,
Starting point is 00:15:22 I jumped to college football a long time ago, and this is again if I wasn't a Pats fan I think I don't know how about your boy Andy Odell Beckham
Starting point is 00:15:31 yeah catches a touchdown pass then imitates a dog pissing on a fire hydrant and does anybody have a balls to tell him not to do that Coach McAdoo
Starting point is 00:15:41 you can't tell a young brother what to do seriously Tom Coughlin didn't even do that remember tom coughlin was too much of a disciplinary he had to become a players coach you reap what you sow take it a piss how about the and last week the kid catches his first nfl but was that a giant too that grabs his dick he grabs grabs his dick. I think it's culture, folks. I don't know if it's about right. I think it's culture.
Starting point is 00:16:08 Might be the problem. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. Game's still driving us. What? Oh, the 61 yarder? Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:16:19 I knew that was going in as soon as there was one second. Let's stay on topic. Fuck that. We'll talk about it later. I have enough. I got enough problems here. Let's go to Mark in San Antonio. Mark, how are you?
Starting point is 00:16:32 Welcome to the show. Nick, my buddy, my white hetero buddy. I love you and I love Trump right off the bat. Good for you, Mark. God damn it. I dislike you. Hey, I can sum up the weekend in a nutshell. Here's America's views.
Starting point is 00:16:46 NFL ratings are down. They'll be down even further next week. And the Steeler player, Alejandro Villanueva, his jersey sales are number one by far. Yes. That sums everything up in a nutsack shell. I agree, Mark. Exactly. Perhaps these ungrateful, overpaid jocks, brainless, should exercise their right to move to that cesspool of Africa to play in the Tanzania Football League.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Yeah, yeah, they'll probably be happier. These stupid, over-testosterone athletes playing a child's game for big bucks do not understand that they cannot change history, for they would not even exist without slavery. They would not even be here. Slavery happened. Get over it. And these big, tough, strong, mean jocks are so offended by Trump calling them sons of bitches. I cheer. Nick, you were not on Friday, but the next best thing to your show not being on was trump's rally i loved it when he called them sons of bitches fire them fire them god i loved it all right calling them that yeah they're so soft and they're all of a sudden so offended like they've never been called the name before i say fuck them all right my inner racist has been baited out all right mark over
Starting point is 00:18:03 the last eight and a half years i I say, nut these stupid sticks. All righty then. Beautiful. Thank you for the call. Appreciate it. That's one point of view. I like the way he goes, get over slavery, like it was a fucking, like a bad cookout and a bad barbecue for three hours.
Starting point is 00:18:20 I mean, but you do have to move on a little bit. You can't get over it, but I mean, it's all we concentrate on. You think this is the only nation. We're the only nation to put a stop to it, last time I checked. But it's about racial injustice. Well, what specifically are you talking about? Well, the cops, white cops brutalizing young black. No, the numbers don't say that at all.
Starting point is 00:18:40 Don't say it at all. The Michael Brown thing was a hoax. Jesus H. Let's move on. But again, I think it's morphed into a, you know, a fuck Trump thing. You know what I mean? But I'm just disappointed there's so many, even Brady and, there's so many people that have, again, I understand he's like the face of the league. But come on. anybody got any balls
Starting point is 00:19:06 and going oh for Christ's sake but I love that Villanueva's shirt is selling like hotcakes that does say a lot that's a barometer you know that probably makes good deal but here's the other well I'll take a few more calls but I want to get to some more of the hypocrisy
Starting point is 00:19:23 of the NFL. A guy, John Nolte, wrote a piece for Breitbart. It's called The NFL Hates America in Nine Pieces of Proof. Did you read that one? It's fucking great, the hypocrisy as far as what you can do in protest. Danny in Washington. What's up, Danny boy? Nicky D, what's going on, buddy?
Starting point is 00:19:43 Oh, you know. Hey, so first of all, I'm a Marine, 95-99. Oh, God bless you. Thank you. I obviously respect the flag. I'm very patriotic, this, that. It's a weird spot because that's exactly what we fought for, is the right to freedom of speech, freedom of expression. They're expressing themselves., is the right to freedom of speech, freedom of expression.
Starting point is 00:20:06 They're expressing themselves. They have the right to do that. My question is, why the fuck do we even have the national anthem at sporting events to begin with at all? Like, just get rid of it. Like, problem solved. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You a fucking Marine?
Starting point is 00:20:18 No, I'm saying what? You want an answer? You want an answer? Because the national anthem just represents what America represents. It's saying this is us. It's not the more American than football, by the way. It's a national anthem. No, I agree with you 100%. But it's being played in America.
Starting point is 00:20:37 What? But what? But it's being played in America. We know where we're at. So what? That's not the only purpose of it. You know, people take for granted that you live in the greatest country. You don't.
Starting point is 00:20:50 I mean, you're a Marine, but people take for granted. I remember being at the Red Sox game with Artie Lang. We went to see the Red Sox Braves on a Saturday afternoon. It was like 75 degree perfect day. We had beers. And I remember Artie looking at me going, this is why the Taliban has to fucking lose.
Starting point is 00:21:10 It's Americana, man.'s why and and and if we got rid of it now then you're letting these little spoiled assholes you're saying they're fucking right why should we get rid of a tradition uh and because these people have their panties in a bunch uh and they can't even point to specific racial injustice yes there's going to be some of that. But of all the countries on the planet, and you know this, you defended it, what other country is more fair than this country? No, you use the word tradition, and that makes me think, yeah, you're probably right. I get it. It's our tradition. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:40 But I'm just saying, when you look at it logically, I understand the tradition side of it and the fact that it's just what we do. And, you know, we're proud of our country and all that. But, like, when you look at it logically, what does singing the national anthem at a sporting event, what purpose does that serve other than to say, hey, we're America? We're playing the game in America. We know we're in America. Well, yeah, but like I said, it brings the crowd together. It's a tradition. It brings the crowd together. This is what Americans, this is what
Starting point is 00:22:10 we do on a Sunday afternoon. I like it. I mean, I'm not a real jingoistic guy. I get your point. I agree. I actually agree with you. That makes a lot of sense. I agree with you. I like it, too. Nothing's beautiful.
Starting point is 00:22:24 Michigan, 116,000 people at a college game. Everybody singing. It's kind of sense. I agree with you. I like it too. 80,000 people. You know, nothing's beautiful. Michigan, 116,000 people at a college game. Everybody, you know, singing. It's kind of cool. And I love the,
Starting point is 00:22:30 I love when the jet, fucking fighter jets come over. And then, you know, it's like, yeah, Iran,
Starting point is 00:22:36 Iraq, who's watching? You want a piece of us? Oh, by the way, it's kickoff. Yeah, no,
Starting point is 00:22:40 yeah, you're right. I get it. I agree with you. I digress. We appreciate you. We appreciate, my dad was, my dad's a Marine too, by're right. I get it. I agree with you. I digress. We appreciate you. My dad's a Marine, too, by the way. I know that. I know that. Semper Fi. Semper Fi, baby. Thanks, Danny.
Starting point is 00:22:53 All right. You know what I mean? It's a tradition. Especially now, don't get rid of it. Now you should play it twice. Piss everybody. Let's do the longer version. You know how they drag it out all the time? Get some soul singer that makes it about 11 minutes. Piss everybody Let's do the long Let's have You know how they drag it out All the time Get some soul singer
Starting point is 00:23:08 You know that Makes it about 11 minutes So much all these Who was it Who was it One of the running backs For the Bills Was like stretching
Starting point is 00:23:16 That was almost A cowardly move So he wasn't kneeling But he was pretending To stretch These guys are some Creative efforts I'll tell you But Yeah no I like that tradition but he was pretending to strut. These guys are some creative efforts, I'll tell you.
Starting point is 00:23:26 But, yeah, no, I like that tradition. I kind of like it. I don't know. I mean, I can see people might get a little annoyed that... I don't know. What other song you want to play? Fucking Last Train to Clarksville?
Starting point is 00:23:41 Everybody stand up for that? Why that one, Nick? I don't know. It's the first one that came to my head. Charlie in stand up. Why that one, Nick? I don't know. It's the first one that came to my head. Charlie in Virginia. What's going on, Charlie? How are you doing? It's Mr. DiPaolo.
Starting point is 00:23:51 Pretty good. How are you? I'm doing pretty good. Big Steelers fan and I had a comment about doing the way of us standing out there at the end of that tunnel. They were saying that Tomlin and a bunch of other players had a problem with what they did, and that's further from the case. With what he did, not with what they did. Well, people, reporters were saying that the team was in the locker room,
Starting point is 00:24:19 and there was one shot from the camera that if you saw behind Bill Nuevo that the rest of the team was standing behind him with their hand on his chest. And the players were appreciative of what Bill Inouye did as far as his service and had no problem with what he did. When did they say that, Charlie?
Starting point is 00:24:38 When did they say that? I'm sorry, go ahead. I didn't mean to interrupt. When did they come out and say that? Did they say that after it was made public that Tomlin had a problem with the villain away? Yeah, it's been on all the news channels about what people were saying. Tomlin, James Harrison, another teammate on the team, James Harrison, another teammate on the team, was one that came out and said that he had no problem with going away with what he did.
Starting point is 00:25:18 He was appreciative of the services he had and considered him a brother as far as the battlefield on the football field. Very good. Nobody had a problem with it. It's just a bunch of these, man, sometimes they sound kind of racist, the other sports reporters on so many sports shows about him being out in the tunnel and you didn't see anybody else. Well, like I said, there's a camera shot that you see the rest of the team in the tunnel behind him with their hands on his chest, and it just kind of rubbed me in the wrong way. Okay, but here's a direct quote from Tomlin right after.
Starting point is 00:25:46 Tomlin said, when they asked him about Villanueva's positioning during the National Anthem, Coach Tomlin responded, I was looking for 100% participation. So, you know. Yeah, and I didn't understand that either. Well, he said, what he means by that is he wanted everybody in the locker room not coming out, including Villanueva. He said, we were going to be respectful of our football team. This is a guy that won the Bronze Star, by the way.
Starting point is 00:26:11 He did three tours in Afghanistan. But, yeah, so. Yeah, and I didn't understand that either. It's like a contradiction because he was one of the ones that you saw in the tunnel behind him with his hand on his chest. Okay. So I didn't get it either. Well, I guess it's a technicality. They say locker room, but they were in the tunnel.
Starting point is 00:26:30 In other words, he was the only one out in public. Thanks for the call, Charlie. I got a break, but I appreciate that. We got a lot of calls, as we expected, on this topic. Hey, by the way, this Friday night, will you come see me if you're in the area? Ridgefield Playhouse, Ridgefield, Connecticut. It's a beautiful theater, one of my favorite're in the area. Hit me up on Twitter, at Nick DiPaolo, and Facebook, and what's the other one with the pictures? Instagram. And follow us at DiPauloShowSXM. Back after this. You're listening to The Nick DePaulo Show
Starting point is 00:27:15 on Faction Talk SiriusXM, Faction Talk 103. Welcome back. Final segment on a Monday night. Hey, come see me this Friday night, September 29th, Ridgefield Playhouse, Ridgefield, Connecticut. October 6th and 7th, Levity Live, West Nyack, New York. October 21st, the Westport Inn, Westport, Connecticut. And hit me up on Twitter, at Nick DiPaolo.
Starting point is 00:28:05 Facebook, Instagram. Hit us so you can follow the show, at DiPaoloShowSXM. Currently talking about the shooting in Nashville at the church where the gunman was black and victims were white. And just a little bit of disparity as far as coverage comparing it to the Dylann Roof thing. And again, we have to point these double standards out. It's almost tiring, but, you know, I'm sure CNN, MSNBC covered it extensively. And I'm sure they had a full-throated discussion on hate crimes.
Starting point is 00:28:50 And don't make me laugh brian in oakland what's up brian how's it going nick what's happening we're really talking about this the coverage and how it skews to make uh certain people look better certain people look worse didn't this kind of start like decades ago when they would stop releasing the full description of a perpetrator for, you know, or a suspect in a crime? You would never get the description, oh, well, this is a black gentleman or this is a Hispanic gentleman. At least out here, that's what I remember. Yeah, that might have been the genesis of it. Yeah, that might have been the genesis of it. It's crazy how, like, a news organization, do that in quotes, CNN, you know, will give something that will dedicate a half hour to, you know,
Starting point is 00:29:51 hate crimes and racism in America, and it's just so obvious. You know, most of us are aware of it, but apparently there's still a segment of the population, I mean, CNN's still on the air, who just goes right along with it. Well, I'll tell you who it is. Well, I'll tell you who it is. It's the suburban white kids that have grown up in this kind of bubble that they don't... Look, I don't have any problem with anybody of any color when I can deal with them one-on-one or in a big group or whatever. Like, when you're face-to-face, there's a different thing that happens and i anybody that says oh only white people can be racism i just i challenge them to spend you know a week in one of the county jails around here you know it doesn't matter right you find out super quick that
Starting point is 00:30:40 the black guys don't want you around the brown guys don't want you around. The brown guys don't want you around. The others don't want you around. So you have one thing left over. You go sit at the white guy's table. You use the white guy's phone. Out here it's called you're a wood. You're a pecker wood. And you use the pecker wood phone.
Starting point is 00:31:00 You use the wood shower. And that's the way it is. And that's how really it is right and nobody and that's how the really actually the piece is kept and it's such a fascinating yeah dynamic sociology to me yes because you know i grew up kind of you know i grew up in oakland not in like i can think tom hanks side not marshawn lynch side you know okay and so it was, it was quite the revelation when I went into, uh, do a little time for some things I did as a dumb, dumber kid. And you, and you realize that this environment is not the happy Kumbaya bullshit that everyone tries to preach out in the world,
Starting point is 00:31:42 you know, and you, you just have to adapt and i'm a big guy you can handle himself you know i'm not you know it didn't bother me too much right but you know those you get tested and i just want everyone who has that position of or white people can't be racist to spend any time you mean black people can't be You mean black people can't be racist? Or black people can't be racist. Yeah. Sorry, thanks for correcting me, but it goes both ways, and most of the black guys I know will tell you. Yes, they did a poll.
Starting point is 00:32:14 I remember a couple years ago, I was reading the Post, New York Post, and they did a poll. I think it was a national poll, and they asked each race who's the most racist, and black people said they were more racist than white people black people themselves said it in the poll which i found a kind of refreshing and um but yeah you would never know that would you brian watching
Starting point is 00:32:35 watching either commercials or movies out of hollywood or um you'd think just the opposite and so as we as, as a society, as we start to be more cocooned from the real world, like with the internet and social media, and you have this, you know, keyboard courage that exists, it becomes more and more of an issue.
Starting point is 00:32:56 And it goes both ways, right? Like these kids that are posting, or even if they're not kids, but these guys that post all this like real hate, this neo-Nazi horse shit, however, whichever way it goes, I guarantee you, face-to-face in the real world,
Starting point is 00:33:12 they sing a different fucking tune. Oh, Christ, yeah. Christ, yeah. But it's funny, you're... Go ahead. The internet, when you go to an article on race on the internet, that's the one place, the comment section where white people can be honest.
Starting point is 00:33:27 It's the one place where you're really here. Because how many times have we heard this, Brian? We've got to have a dialogue about race in this country. And I always ask the question, is it going to be a dialogue or are we going to be lectured? Is whitey going to be lectured again like we have been for the last 40 years?
Starting point is 00:33:44 It's like you really want to have a... And that's what Trump... I mean, look at Trump. He just says a couple things, you know? The Charlottesville thing, you know? Bad people on both sides or whatever. Holy Christ, you know?
Starting point is 00:33:56 I mean, and this is what... The more high profile the white guy, obviously, the more shit he catches. But I just find it refreshing that he's calling people out on it and not afraid to talk about it, like the last 44 presidents. Right. If you don't talk about it, you're not going to get anything done. Exactly right. Hey, Brian, great call. All right.
Starting point is 00:34:16 Have a good one, Dave. Thanks, man. I appreciate your comedy and your show. I've been a fan of yours for years. It's great to talk to you. Thank you, Brian. Appreciate it. Bye.
Starting point is 00:34:24 Take care. a fan of yours for years. It's great to talk to you. Thank you, Brian. Appreciate it. Bye. Take care. 866-969-1969 is the phone number. I didn't get this one last week. Another California story.
Starting point is 00:34:40 Modesto. Modesto, California. School suspends five-year-old boy for terroristic threats. Can you make this shit up, folks? The parents of a five-year-old boy in California are speaking out after their son was suspended from school for allegedly making a terroristic threat when he told his teacher there was a bomb in his backpack. Durka Durka. Jackson Riley. Yeah, he's right out of the Taliban.
Starting point is 00:35:16 Jackson fucking Riley. Durka Allah. Muhammad Jihad. Jackson Riley. Imagine five-year-old kid named Jackson Riley. Can you imagine? You fucking dumb teacher. I don't know who you are.
Starting point is 00:35:31 Who attends the Great Valley Academy Charter School in Modesto. Was suspended last month for making terroristic threats against school officials. Sacramento television station KTLX reported. Oh my God. Michelle Riley, Jackson's mother, said her son refused to remove his backpack, telling a teacher there was a bomb in it that would explode if he took it off. The backpack was actually empty. Now we're going to get a bunch of calls from people in Middle East and say,
Starting point is 00:36:00 there's a double standard right there. If that kid was Iranian or Persian, they would have thrown him right the fucker uh but the mother is quoted as saying uh it's all in the world of pretend playing we're talking about an imaginary bomb but but where was the threat michelle riley as we still haven't received a clear answer the boy's dad ian riley said his son was playing around and is being accused of something he's too young to even understand. The Rileys want the disciplinary action removed from their child's record. What, kids got a record now?
Starting point is 00:36:37 The school said in a statement to KLX, it couldn't discuss the specifics of the case and emphasized it takes student safety and discipline. Can you imagine adults? Five-year-old kid says he's got a bomb in his backpack. And this is what's teaching your kids. You wonder why they're retarded when they grow up. Let's go to Billy in Long Island. He doesn't like
Starting point is 00:36:57 my politics. Billy, what's going on? No, I just thought you did dick jokes. I don't do dick jokes. I never did dick jokes. You don't write for Chris Rock and get fucking nominated doing dick jokes. I don't do dick jokes. I never did dick jokes. You don't write for Chris Rock and get fucking nominated doing dick jokes. Starting point is 00:37:27 Stick to comedy. Fucking... See how they are? The little lib pussies? Little lib fucking jerk-offs? Oh, they fucking irritate me. Yeah, I don't like your politics, though.
Starting point is 00:37:37 You know, you're not funny. Stick to dick jokes. Ugh. Just horrible people. He has to wake up every day Knowing Trump's in office And his fat twat Hillary lost She was here today Huh?
Starting point is 00:37:53 She was here in the building She was in the building? Yeah she did a town hall A town hall She is a town hall Fucking giant muff is a town hall Echoes Promoting her book and blaming others
Starting point is 00:38:07 Did you do coke or something? No, what are you saying? Look at you, you're fucking leaning on the thing I'm engaged in our conversation You're rubbing your fucking shirt Fucking sit down, will you? Like a fucking three-year-old tonight Jesus Christ, relax

Starting point is 00:38:49 I'm sorry. I don't feel antsy. Well, I know you don't, but it's like watching an aerobics class over there. Fucking lean... You don't think this is distracting?
Starting point is 00:38:58 Really? I'm sorry. Yes, I was doing that. I thought it was a fucking Nautilus machine. For the love of Christ You know I fucking hate The way you make me fucking ride you
Starting point is 00:39:11 Now get the fuck out of here Take it easy What else? That's it I'm tired Can we quit now? 10 minutes Oh fuck what do you want to talk about? Talk about you getting laid this weekend
Starting point is 00:39:26 It's a dangerous situation Yeah Good news out of You know A cloudy situation Good news Well the old man was under You know
Starting point is 00:39:37 How'd the old man do it By the way He's fucking stronger than ever Joe right So impressive Yep Joe Fiore 93 years young Had a stint put in his heart.
Starting point is 00:39:47 Yeah, stint, yeah. A stint. Whatever. He had a stuntman put in his heart. He's feeling good, came home, and yeah. So I was back in my hometown. So you celebrated your old man surviving the operation by banging a fucking pig. Well.
Starting point is 00:40:03 Right. Thank you. I want to talk. How did it go down? Met up with some of the old gang in the hometown. That's got nothing to do with abroad, but go ahead. Well, it does. And then we went out, you know, and we rekindled an old relationship.
Starting point is 00:40:16 Oh, so you had been with this person before? Mm-hmm. How long ago? Years. I don't even know. I know from high school. Did she have the goatee then, or? No, it was a bit shocking shut up shut shut shut a bit a bit shocking did you say now what was shocking i think was shocking she doesn't listen talk about it what else would you
Starting point is 00:40:39 like to know i'd like to know how many nachos she ate in front of you before you went jesus she's got forearms like the skipper from Gilligan's Island. No, the girl I'd been with a few times. Yeah? Yeah. So what was shocking? You used the word shocking. I was good talking about the goatee.
Starting point is 00:40:54 Just playing along. And where'd you do it, on the pool table? No. In the basement. In the pullout. Pinball machine it's like big dan's tavern so um did you buy her drinks yes you did how many what was she drinking well i i don't even remember you know we were all in like a group You know a bunch of friends All getting together Some of them

Starting point is 00:41:31 Back to your parents house You go Would you like another sandwich? Well I wanted to be A gentleman so yeah Yeah what did you make her? Foot long cheese Grilled cheese
Starting point is 00:41:42 You may know you didn't No I didn't I grilled cheese. Oh, God. Help me. So it was just a bar? Yeah. You weren't on stage anyway?
Starting point is 00:41:56 No. Not bad. Thanks. What time did she leave your house? That night. I don't know. 12-1. Not too late.
Starting point is 00:42:07 Nothing crazy. No? Yeah. You know, the good thing about being in your parents' house, I go, yeah, they're going to come home. You can't stay here. He's going to come home on a... Dad's going to come home on a gurney.
Starting point is 00:42:19 It was like Vito coming home. Dad's here! Carrying the gurney up the stairs and the babies are crying fucking they're all happy to see him where's your father going where's andy he's downstairs uh and he's the one who fucked the pig we had to send him to sicily to hide out. I never wanted that for him. I never wanted that for him. And he just starts crying in a tear. Go away. And he's the one who porked the pig. I never wanted that.
Starting point is 00:43:01 So, yeah. Nice. Nice score. Yeah, it was all right. No, nothing nothing rich in south carolina what's going on rich hey nick uh can you hear me i don't want to get cursed at for uh having a crappy cell phone reception not speaking into the horn yeah it sounds good it's amazing oh thanks i'm glad you picked up on my anger with the other callers yeah yeah uh so the story i read about the kid was actually he thought that he was a superhero and that if they took the backpack off of him that the bomb would explode.
Starting point is 00:43:30 So he was protecting everyone in his class. That's why he didn't want to take it off. Wow. I didn't have that type of detail in my story. He was a white kid, so he must have got that. What are you watching, CNN? No, not me. I don't watch it. Hey, I want to ask you something else something else too about the whole football thing yeah i'll be real fast no
Starting point is 00:43:49 go ahead i'm looking at the rate the ratings and everything yeah and i'm seeing that you know 14 15 million people are watching these football games okay i know that's a lot in tv land yeah but there's 320 million people in the united states. Is it possible before Trump picked up on this that it wasn't even really that big of a deal to, I don't know, normal people? People who don't watch football? I mean, that's a lot of people. And I know a bunch of those are kids and elderly people or whatever, but that's still a lot of people who aren't turning to football games every week that couldn't give a rat's ass either way. Well, yeah, he definitely, no, there's no doubt.
Starting point is 00:44:26 When somebody as high profile as the President of the United States wades into something like this, yeah, there's no doubt it's going to expand the interest because that's what I said, Rich, when I was saying it. You know, it started off with Kaepernick. The protest was, you know, about police brutality, but I think now it's morphed into, you know, Trump, an anti-Trump thing. So, yeah, I think to answer your question, there's a lot of my ears and eyes on it when Trump weighed in on it. But, yeah, it's not the first time these guys have taken a knee and stuff.
Starting point is 00:45:03 Yeah, I totally do agree that it's gone. I mean, you know, Black Lives Matter or whatever, police protest is totally not about that anymore, even if it was to begin with. It's definitely not about that anymore. No, absolutely not. They can't, I mean, they label this guy a white supremacist during the election, for Christ's sake.
Starting point is 00:45:20 It's just, I mean, it's asinine. And it sticks. That's all they got. That's all the left has is identity politics. It's all they I mean, it's asinine how, and it sticks. That's all they got. That's all the left has is identity politics. It's all they have, and it works because, like I said, the mainstream media is like an echo chamber. People complain about Fox. What if you
Starting point is 00:45:36 didn't have Fox? You know, to get another point of view. I mean, it's ridiculous. But yeah, good point. When you look at it overall, there's much more people who don't give a shit about it. You're right, Rich. Thanks a lot. Thanks for the call.
Starting point is 00:45:53 I, again, would like to stop watching the NFL. What else are you going to do on a Sunday? I've been watching it since I was... It's almost a habit now. You know? People forget about the gambling aspect of it too i wonder if people can you take a line on that who's going to take a knee what team i'm sure they have a whole line on that but uh that's the sopranos i was telling me and we're going over the app and one of the my funniest lines in that uncle junior is arguing
Starting point is 00:46:22 with tony about whatever and uh you know because Uncle Junior thinks he's the boss, but Tony's really running things, so they're having an argument. And Uncle Junior goes to Tony, you're taking credit for stuff you have no business taking credit for. He goes, as far as gambling, the economy is so good that chinks and housewives are betting football. Brendan makes a typical millennial face. This is how Italians talk, you know, in the...
Starting point is 00:46:49 This is how any hero mafia guy talks. Chinks and housewives are betting football. That is the funniest line ever uttered on TV. And I know, it's pretty racist. That was the other movie I loved, the John Gotti that HBO did back in the 80s where Armin Asante played John Gotti. But even that was PC. HBO can't help themselves. There's a line in that where the guy that played Big Pussy, it was in the movie. Anthony Pastor and Vincent Pastor,
Starting point is 00:47:25 I should say. And he utters something about a black, going to a black doctor and John Gotti lectures him. He goes, what are you going to say? I think he said Zulu or whatever. He goes,
Starting point is 00:47:38 he goes, black, white, black. John Gotti is lecturing because the guy said he was going to a specifically, no, he said a Jew doctor. But Gotti got all, can you imagine, can you imagine being HBO, somebody giving that note?
Starting point is 00:47:56 Oh, that's kind of, you know, that's kind of racist. So we should have, we should have Gotti kind of, I mean, straight, could you get any more racist than Italian mafiosos from Queens? Probably not. All right, folks, that is it. Congratulations on Andy getting laid, and thank you to all the callers tonight. And again, check me out if you're around Friday, Ridgefield Playhouse, Ridgefield, Connecticut.
Starting point is 00:48:21 We'll talk to you guys tomorrow night. Bye-bye. Bye-bye. Bye-bye!
