Starting point is 00:01:39 Welcome back, your dreams or your ticket hours. Welcome back. How don't folks I'm I don't know I don't know what to tell you yeah I was doing my watching the reactions again it's so cool especially when black people listen to the Bee Gees young black people and they find out they were white guys they almost shit their pants same with the is it the Isley brothers I think so that have that real soulful they can't believe and then Bob Seeger who we talked about this yesterday night moves came out in 76 I was 14 and it's all about being in the back of your dad's car trying
Starting point is 00:02:40 to get laid and you're awkward you guys don't know what you're doing. And I'm watching young people listen to that song. And they start welling up. And one guy goes, I don't know why I'm getting so nostalgic. He goes, this isn't even my era. He was like 28. That song is a perfect storm of everything. Great music, his voice tells a story. But that's what I was hearing on the radio
Starting point is 00:03:09 when I was trying to get laid. It was written for people my age. So when I hear it now, really, I get like a lump. There's three songs that can make my eyes water if I'm by myself or my car. The next one might be the one that even worse than Night Moose is, again, Siegel was my soundtrack, as they say, by myself in my car. The next one might be the one that even worse than Night Moose is – again, Siegel was my soundtrack, as they say to you, life, whatever – Like A Rock.
Starting point is 00:03:31 Now most people know that from the fucking pickup truck commercials. Before it became that, it's just a song about being 18 and being just he's so good at going back. He's like I was lean and solid everywhere like a rock my eye has you know my steps had purpose or whatever. It just makes me it puts you in a place that's like it gives you shivers how and the song so good and that fucking voice of his I'll put it against anybody's that natural route and we've got tonight which was my senior prom that was our song so see you really can put a lump in
Starting point is 00:04:17 my throat and I hear them it's bittersweet like all those are such great times I'll be dead in five minutes. One emotion follows the next. You know what I'm saying, folks? No, you don't, because you might not be 63. But then watching, like I said, watching people way younger, and they explain the song exactly the feelings they have, and then it's funny to watch some young kids trying to explain it this young
Starting point is 00:04:45 black dude had me laughing he goes because one of the lines in Night Moves is like you know it starts out tight pants points hardly renowned talking about himself then he describes a girl she's a black-haired beauty with big dark eyes and points of her own sitting way up high talking about her kids and his junk black kids like he was trying to make Reed into it way more. Nah, she's up high so he like putting on a pedestal. He'd be putting on a pedestal like he's seen up there like a queen. I'm fucking dying. I'm going, no it's her tits brother. How'd you miss that? You're right. you're checking this off.
Starting point is 00:05:25 It's going to be a slim week, the way I'm going today. Yeah, he moves me like no other. And some people have never heard him. Then I watch the actions of people that never heard him and they have, oh, there was two young black girls listening to Like A Rock, and I mean in their 20s and I think they had accents they might have been Caribbean one of them starts balling about five minutes into the song it's about an 18 year old guy coming of age I mean this guy had a way of he got it man and they all say and and the black is he's got soul and
Starting point is 00:06:03 he does he's got soul and blues in his voice He was the real thing I don't know why I keep talking about but I can watch that shit for hours cuz some of its funny how Some so I'm watching a lady who would never never heard Zeppelin and she loves hard rock and all this shit But she was so young she had never heard zeppelin and almost faints when she hears how good the guitar riffs are and shit, because they did. A lot of people grew up with some shit music. Fucking 90s, stick up your ass. All due respect. All due respecty. Anyhow, I wish we had a hotline. What's your favorite artist? Give wacky Jim a call. That was my first concert, Bob Seeger, Orpheum in Boston. Front row balcony, which the Orpheum
Starting point is 00:06:58 only holds like three, you're hanging over, you're this close to the dead center, watching Bob Seeger, what was he, his 30s maybe, late 20s, early 30s, long, at his peak, doing night moves and you're, oh, mama me. And a lot of people go, and a lot of people go, a lot of black guys, he's country. They go, this kid goes, all I heard is Main Street night moves and he mentioned four songs where you could think he's in a country. He goes they say rock and roll but I felt like saying live bullet dude he rocks with the best of them but he just writes a killer ballad singing about strippers and blue collar workers and and my wife Dallas I didn't tell you this,
Starting point is 00:07:46 when we lived in LA, my wife's outside Spargo, famous restaurant in LA at the time in the 90s. Her and her girlfriend go out to have a cigarette, and she's fumbling. My wife's fumbling for a lighter and a bag. And who reaches over? Bob Seeger. What's a cigarette. Can you imagine? I almost had
Starting point is 00:08:09 that experience. I was fumbling in my purse for my lighter and you know who lit my cigarette? Johnny Mathis. Gay black guy. All right, enough of the bullshit. Headline, thinking outside the box. I'm going to spend a little time. I might spend way too much than you want me to on this guy. I just found this tremendously interesting. Have you heard of this guy? Curtis Guy Yarvin, born in 1973, also known by the pen name Mencius Moldbug.
Starting point is 00:08:43 He's an American computer computer scientist and it says far-right blogger because this is Wikipedia anybody who doesn't think like you know you have you ever seen far left anything he's known along with philosopher Nick land I don't know who the fuck that is I should though for founding the anti egalitarian egalitarianism is just everybody should be equal you know but but but basically uh... anti egalitarian and anti democratic philosophical movement
Starting point is 00:09:12 known as the dark and light and men or neo neo reactionary movement i don't know what makes it neo and just not reactionary and if you guys don't know what reactionary is, it's just people who have sort of longed for the past the way things were. Yeah. So neo-reactionary.
Starting point is 00:09:34 So I guess you could call this guy that. I don't know, whatever the... So what he's saying is he thinks we can do better than democracy. And you have to listen to him balls on this frame no no relax he argues that american democracy is a failed experiment that should be replaced by an accountable monarchy relax folks he's getting to uh similar to the governance structure of corporations and boy i wonder if he's i wonder if trump sparked this in his head, but probably not, because he's been doing this, talking about this for quite a while, I guess.
Starting point is 00:10:09 But right there, I'm with him, Trump sort of backs his argument, put a corporate guy. We always said, didn't we? I mean, this is capitalism, this country's a company, for Christ's sake. It's all about the Benjamin Joe. Anyway, similar to structure of corporate in 2002, Yarvin began, okay, so you know, he began work on a personal software project that eventually became the Urbit URBIT network computer computing platform. So now another, he looks like a musician in this picture Yavin has been described as a neo reactionary neo monarchist in a neo feudalist who sees Liberalism as creating a matrix like totalitarian system right on the money there And and who wants to replace American democracy with a sort of technomonarchy. He has defended the institution of slavery. I don't know how I missed that. Where's my prison song?
Starting point is 00:11:12 And has suggested that certain races may be more naturally inclined toward servitude than others. Oh my God, how dare you? That's so racist. Is it? Is it really? Remember I had Ted Nugent on this show, believe it or not, and we were talking about,
Starting point is 00:11:37 and he goes, you believe I'm gonna create a vehicle? And I'm like, eh, he goes, I don't. He just fucking lays it out. I go, you can say that, You got $100 million in the bank. Anyways, he says some races may more naturally inclined towards servitude than others. He has argued that whites have higher IQs than black people. That's no, again, these are considered edgy
Starting point is 00:11:58 because we live in a PC. We can't handle the true fucking world, okay? White's not even the smartest on the planet. You know who are? What do you call them? No. No, Jews. It is Ashkenazi Jews, I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:12:16 Ashkenazi, something like that. They're the smartest people in the fuck world. Folks, this is science. You can measure it. You can't fucking argue with it. You know? Yeah, then Asians, is, and this is science, you can measure it, you can't fucking argue with it, you know? Yeah, then Asians, whites, and whatever the fuck, but because we live in this, we've been so dumbed down, go out for a bit, you hurt somebody's feelings, so far I've agreed with all the tent poles of his argument. I always said we needed a benign dictator. You know what I mean by that, right? Not somebody like Hitler,
Starting point is 00:12:48 but somebody who decided, oh, Mussolini, you can make the trains run on time, get shit done. And you know, I don't care. And Trump sort of, that guy almost, I don't think he's a dictator of any sorts, but he showed us how to get shit done. It's basically what he said. What did he say? Higher IQs than black people, white people, and opposes US civil rights programs. Here he talks to a CNN abroad who, that's my typo, we, who naturally sounds skeptical.
Starting point is 00:13:27 It's funny because it puts this woman or people who watch CNN, still stupid enough to, puts them in a weird spot because they don't like the idea of a monarch or a king, you know, unless it was somebody who thought like they did, then they would be in love, you know unless it was somebody who thought like they did then they would be in love you know what do you what do you think fucking you know Cuba what's his name Castro guys like that who you love Che Guevara what do you think they are anyway so this is him being interviewed
Starting point is 00:14:06 by the CNN girl and it's hard, so it puts them in a funny place because they like the idea of bad mouth and democracy, we can do better, but like I said, only if it's replaced what they've planned. So you can see how quick she is to go, but don't, but watch. A monarch, a single focus of authority is, you know, absolutely necessary to run any integrated system efficiently. You could probably put any of the Fortune 500 CEOs in and say, OK, you're in charge of the executive branch, fix this. They probably do fine. They wouldn't be Hillary Stalin.
Starting point is 00:14:39 And he's got some powerful people listening. I think you're pretty far out in a way that is worth thinking about. There's this guy, Curtis Yarvin, who's written about some of these things. Years before Elon Musk and Doge, Yarvin coined the phrase, Rage, retire all government employees. Next, he sees a world where the power is not with the people. Should there be though elections in your world of a sovereign CEO? There needs to be a way of basically holding the sovereign CEO accountable. But not every single person should have a vote.
Starting point is 00:15:09 Well, I mean, I have four beautiful children, none of them have a vote. Experts in democracy like Harvard professor Daniel Allen who... ...enter the cancer... ...publicly debate... Hold on, to throw water on somebody who's thinking outside her black box no pun intended you know God forbid because it all comes rushing back she knows you know what white patriarchy and Kings in England it all rushes back to her and she's gonna say well most dictators things turn out
Starting point is 00:15:46 But he debated her in public I guess somewhere You know, which is great, but you're a barnacle in the ass of progress. How about that, honey? You're the most closed minded what you represent your closed minded you're full of shit But if somebody suggested a dictator who again they more align with you like Hitler did than Republicans, go ahead. Did Yarvin say his ideas are dangerous? It is not the case that autocracies over the course of history have delivered good for human beings. They have consistently violated freedom. Not surprisingly, Yarvin is no stranger to controversy.
Starting point is 00:16:24 He's been accused of using racist tropes and whitewashing history. Certain races are better at certain things than others. Do you not necessarily believe then that certain races would be better at governing a country than others? Oh, I mean, um, again, you know, governing a country is just a skill. And, you know,'s like the the British in India would basically say oh this race is a governing race this race is not a governing race based on culture based on tradition based on biology. So you're saying yes, certain races would be better at running governments than others. Yes that's what he's saying are you stunned by that can that
Starting point is 00:17:01 penetrate your little tiny brain you know we've been so ensconced in this fucking PC world. It's amazing how far we got away from. Yeah, we get rid of it. We beat the king of England because he was gone too fucking far. He's saying there's a happy medium and you're looking at it. No. What? Alice? She's also just trying to get a yes or no. She's not, she wants the yes. You said it, okay, you said okay. He's trying to provide actual context as to why he thinks that way.
Starting point is 00:17:32 She doesn't want to give a fuck. She doesn't want to hear it. Go ahead. We're doing anything, but those are only averages. As for Trump, Yarvin says the administration is still not going far enough in harnessing executive power. You laid out how you thought things could be done in a way that were fast, that may be a little bit dirty, and some of the things they do seem... Now she's putting words in Trump's mouth. That's what
Starting point is 00:17:55 she's saying now. A little bit dirty? As opposed to Biden and the Democrats? You fucking dope ya. ...to be doing there in the White House? Are you not pleased with how they're doing it? No, because I think that if you basically take anything complicated and you try to do 10% of it, you're not going to care 5% or maybe 1%, you're probably not going to result in anything good. Instead. You guys really thought this out. So according to to him Trump isn't going fast
Starting point is 00:18:25 and far enough I don't have a problem with anything but he's doing his I mean compared to anybody else he's a moving in light speed these things take time but I'd like the thought and I've said it before I used to say it when Giuliani and I lived in New York City and they were all calling him Hitler and a dictator and people who like him said but I but I'm dictator if I can turn the city around in a second got next thing you know there were no homeless no squeegee men there was no garbage on the streets it was wrecked safe that doesn't matter again everybody has to benefit we all have to live equally in a mediocre shitty no we don't
Starting point is 00:19:04 Again, everybody has to benefit. We all have to live equally in a mediocre shitty- No, we don't. I-I-I mean, I really like what this dude's saying. I gotta buy a- buy a book or something. I'm sure there's a million arguments. Again, black woman from Harvard. Yeah, let's get her opinion. Because she represents an average American. Right? Please.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Don't bust my balls. Okay folks Yeah, I get dates coming up explain this yesterday Tommy's working on a whole bunch.
