From New York Times opinion. My name is David Brooks. My name is James Carville. I'm Lydia Paul Green. I'm Michelle Goldberg. I'm Thomas Friedman. A new show featuring a range of voices from opinion and beyond. I cannot think of another news story I've covered that is at once so momentously terrible and boringly anticlimactic.

What we have done is we have voided the 20th century American dream. The Times opinion section runs on ideas. Some ideas come from columnists who share their opinions and reporting on a weekly basis. I prefer to take a wider look and say, is this protest violating other people's rights? This is an existential crisis. We cannot survive another Trump administration. Other ideas come from experts outside of the Times. People who know firsthand what these ideas look like in practice.

In my medical career, I have never dealt with dengue fever. and this is why it was so surprising to me when I got the illness. I grew up watching politicians weaponize my sister's innocence and use her death to pass three strikes laws. Trust me, I hung around with ex-presidents before. It's not that bad life. Our new show is called The Opinions. Four days a week, we'll bring you the ideas and analysis driving the day.
