Sports! Sports! Sports! Sports!
Hello beautiful people and welcome to our humble abode, the Thunderdome, on this hell yeah Wednesday, March 27th, 2024.
This sports program starts now.
Sports!
Are happening and I'll tell you what, you're looking at me right now saying, Pat, you look a little different.
You look like a McBee, you look like a rancher, you look like a cowboy.
I'm going to be honest, thought I had more clothes in the office than I did.
This kind of came together from a package from a sponsor that's starting next week.
Shout out to Dude Wife.
Shout out.
Now, this is an XL shirt.
It's running a little bit tight.
Belt buckle came from Raw.
It was in the bag.
Jeans still here.
Forgot pants.
So, this is what had to happen about moments before the show started.
Feeling good.
I feel like today we're going to cover sports in a beautiful fashion big thanks to everybody that allows us to do this for a living because
yesterday we got to experience something that we should never get to experience which is hanging
out with all the owners the gms the coaches down in orlando beautiful sun that was a blast there's
a little bit of fallout from that with certain conversation obviously chicago bears fans were
pumped to hear ryan poe say i heard what RG3 said. That 38-year-old
GM who is incredibly handsome,
tall, in shape, fit, and in
control of this NFL draft seemed
to be a human and also said, I was hired
Ibraflux, we were hired to come
in here and change the culture. That's what we're trying to do. That's what
draft season is all about, especially for
the teams that we talk about, which are the ones who have the first
five, ten picks. They're trying
to change the trajectory in which their business is going.
That's why they're up there. Maybe some teams are
going to make some moves to get up there so that they can potentially
become a team that is relevant
in the NFL. We'll have Daniel Jeremiah
move the sticks. Join us in the second hour.
Now, he's from NFL Network. He is a draft
guru, draft expert. He covers the
combine in Indianapolis and knows every
single human that's running, jumping,
or falling out of the draft.
He is a fantastic chat.
He'll be down in Texas.
I don't know why he's down there.
We'll talk to him.
Yeah.
Hell yeah.
In the first hour, we'll have Michael Lombardi.
Obviously, that conversation could go anywhere whenever it comes to NFL.
Knows everything about everybody seemingly, and has done his research on every story around
the NFL.
Now, there's some people that hate him.
Sure.
There's some people that say,
Lombardi doesn't know a damn thing.
There's some people that say in Super Bowl parade speeches,
oh, what does Lombardi know?
What we know is anytime Lombardi comes on,
we're going to get a good 30 to 40 minutes
of educated conversation from his perspective,
and I can't wait for it.
Also joining us, Ice Cube.
Wow.
Ice Cube, friend of the program.
Cube, friend of the program, obviously. Innovator,
trailblazer, big-ass brain.
Founder of the Big Three, which is
obviously three-on-three basketball that has
four-point shot, innovative, another alternative
if you don't make it to the NBA, maybe you can play
in the Big Three. Big Three making news this
morning because TMZ reported that they have made
a $5 million offer
to Kaitlyn Clark.
Obviously, Kaitlyn Clark is the sensation Iowa Hawkeyes
women's basketball player that has broken every college basketball record,
and she is headed to the WNBA, we all assume.
And the big three is like, wait a second.
Why not a $5 million offer from us as well?
We intended the offer to remain private
while Kaitlyn Clark plays for the championship.
Let's not be a distraction.
But I won't deny what's now already out there. Big three has made a historic offer to remain private while Kaitlin Clark plays for the championship. Let's not be a distraction.
But I won't deny what's now already out there.
Big 3 has made a historic offer to Kaitlin Clark.
Why wouldn't we?
Kaitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the Big 3. He had another tweet alongside of that that talked about Lieberman,
who is a female coach in the Big 3, and how much they paid her,
and how innovative the Big 3 has been, and how much pride they have in a big three.
It's like, wait a second, Ice Cube.
Do you think this is actually going to work?
Is this, from the big three perspective, it seems like it makes a lot of sense.
Now, how does he think it's actually going to go?
We'll talk to him.
And also, there's a lot going on in the rap world right now.
Yeah, sure.
Really?
Yeah.
A lot of singles and stuff?
Albums?
Well, stay on business, SOB.
Certainly out.
Been out for a couple weeks. There's another
song coming out on April 19th.
You know, One Night Before 420
that I believe is going to have there from
our friend The Real Pac-Man Jones. But no,
I'm talking about planes and feds
and extras and beefs.
I didn't hear about that. Oh, it's loud!
It is loud!
It is loud!
We'll talk Ice Cube about that today.
YouTube ESPN Plus in the third hour.
We can't thank you enough.
Joining me is the Toxic Table.
That boss Connor and that Ty Schmidt.
Let those stallions run, Connor.
Yeah, I figured I would today.
Did not realize that the neck is kind of like a poncho.
This shirt does not fit me, but it is one of my favorites for sure.
Yeah, it does got a little turkey neck.
Yeah, bacon neck.
But see, it's not crinkled like bacon, but it is definitely not supposed to be.
Yeah, but you're showing off that gold chain.
Yeah, that's right.
That's the goal today, show off the gold chain.
Con, I heard you won over a lot of people over the last few days.
Yeah, well, I haven't heard the same.
I have heard some, not a lot, but it's been a good week, to be completely honest,
especially after Monday.
It's been fun.
It's only Wednesday.
Exactly.
One half of the Hammer Cowboys Tone Digs is here.
Hammer Don is a gambling show that is broadcast out of this office
every single day that we have it, unless they're traveling
or whatever the case is.
Big sports gambling enthusiast, obviously.
A lot of sports gambling chatter happening right now.
We'll dive into that in a moment because joining us is a man
we just mentioned,
a Universal Records signed rapper, an all-pro football player in the NFL for 14 years.
Ladies and gentlemen, Adam Pacman Jr.
Tell me!
14 years is a long time in the NFL.
Yeah, it is.
Especially at corner.
You've got to be very stubborn, I think, right?
Because there's a lot of times that your body probably told you,
we're about done with this, and you just keep going through.
That's cornerback position.
You've got to be incredibly athletic.
That's cornerback position.
We have some news.
The Rams have signed former Buffalo Bill and New England Patriot,
Tredavious White.
No, no Patriot.
No Patriot.
Tredavious White, Trey White, to a one-year deal,
$8.5 million, max up to $10 million.
This comes after he tore his Achilles last season, and in two of the
last three years, he has had significant injuries.
At the corner position, obviously, it's very difficult,
but this guy warrants
a one-year, $10 million flyer
type prove-it deal, because
what he has been able to accomplish, when healthy,
when playing, is phenomenal. He's one of
the top corners on Earth, but has had
injury problems. Pac-Man, I ask you at the corner position.
Two of the last three years, very serious injuries.
Can't come back.
Modern science seems to be better than it's ever been.
You like this move by the Rams?
You like this for Tredavious White?
Well, I definitely like it for him.
He was Pro Bowl 2019, 2020.
Then he come back and have the ACL injury.
Then he come back and have the Achilles.
If he can stay healthy, I think this is a really good deal.
The Rams are really struggling right now, if you ask me,
at the corner position with Darion Kendrick.
He was probably at the bottom of the poll when it come to corners last year.
So I think this is a good move.
I think the Rams get better.
Darius, what's his last name?
Darius Williams played pretty good last year.
So I think this is a good move for the Ramsams as far as secondary it's very interesting with the
rams right now with aaron donald's retirement rahim morris told us yesterday that basically
a lot of people in that building knew was happening and nobody leaked it which is the respect that was
paid to aaron donald he that's kind of that's how he paid tribute to aaron donald yesterday
was like i think the story of nobody leaking his retirement
goes to show how much everybody just respects
Aaron Donald like that is not something
that would normally happen I mean it even kind of happened
with Tom Brady the whole thing got leaked
out of there so like losing Aaron Donald
not only affects the Rams team the D-line
but also on that secondary too
you know if somebody isn't pressing that pocket quicker
than in the history of the NFL it's like the secondary
can't be sitting on routes anymore.
What's going on with the Rams?
You know, what are the Rams going forward?
That is a great question.
And just a few years removed from a Super Bowl run, seemingly, I mean, Matt Stafford's still there.
How many years has Matt Stafford had playing football?
Is Matt Stafford going through a rebuild with them?
Because we know Cooper Cupp's still there.
Puka Nakua, a friend of ours, still there.
But on defense aside, last year the only name we really knew was Aaron Donald. He's gone now. When will they be able to
get to a point where they're back in contention conversation? They're hoping soon. Bringing in
Tredavis White is obviously a massive play. Let's talk about sports gambling, because we didn't get
a chance to do this yesterday. Shohei Ohtani spoke, gave a statement basically to the media.
He said a lot of things that answered a lot of questions,
I think, in a lot of people's minds.
Although nobody really, not nobody,
but a majority of people on the internet are like,
okay, you can say this in whatever language you want
with however many interpreters you need.
Everybody's automatically saying this is Shohei.
Shohei, though, was saying something completely different.
Here's him from his statement on Monday
that we didn't get to address yesterday
because we were at the NFL League meetings.
Associated Press translated that properly. We will assume that they did. It's because what I think, if you listen to Shohei's story, is that his interpreter,
the person who was literally his mouth and his ears in the United States of America,
Ipe Mutsuhara, I believe we're learning a lot about this guy who said he went to a college,
he did not go to a college.
I mean, who knows?
But I want to hear it from him because I think there's a chance with the stories he's telling is that Ipe was literally going, is that right?
Okay, to Shohei.
And then speaking in English to people and then going, yeah, yeah.
Do you speak Japanese?
No.
Okay.
All right.
And then going back to him, that's what they just said.
This person controls the narrative of the conversation.
What gets left in, what gets left in what gets left
out yeah now there's a new interpreter that was sitting next to Shohei and this is the biggest
shoes in the history of interpreting yeah that I've ever seen in my entire life coming in there
but it is the Dodgers now have come out and said that without Ipe there seems like there's a much
easier direct line to Shohei almost indicating like maybe Shohei was kind of kept on an island
by Ipe Mitsuhara who if you listen to Shohei's side of this andhei was kind of kept on an island by Ipe Mutsuhara, who
if you listen to Shohei's side of this,
and once again, we are not an MLB show
at all. There is no reason
for us to just automatically believe Shohei
or Connie. That is not in our
MO. We are a sports gambling
show. We enjoy what sports gambling
brings, although we do believe there has to be
some curtailing to it, which I believe some people are pitching
in real time.
There is a chance.
If you look at the history of professional athletes getting money taken from them.
Getting taken advantage of because how focused they are on their sport.
How they hire somebody to take care of something.
And this person has taken advantage of them in the past because they either don't know what's going on.
Or they don't keep up with things.
Or they literally just go hands off hand for you.
You do your thing.
The amount of financial advisors that have taken millions millions of dollars from professional
athletes and it happens to actors and everything else like that but for a time professional
athletes were seemingly getting preyed upon because they don't pay attention to as much
because they're so focused and dialed in so i naturally and teammates of mine have had this
happen to them i naturally have a little bit more of
empathy for an athlete getting taken
advantage of, which is what the story is being
portrayed from Shohei's team here,
is that Ipe was utilizing
his position and taking advantage
of it, and maybe he's selling something
differently to Shohei. Shohei said he didn't even know he was gambling
until a few days ago, so what was Ipe telling
him that money was going to? Because allegedly
in the original report, Fed said it came from Shohei Ohtani's account. So was he being
sold like a real estate business? Was he being sold something else from Ipe? I assume we're
going to learn all of this stuff, but I think this story has the chance to be one that is not only
like wild because of potential lies that were being told, but if money's moving from accounts
and they're at banks, there's going to be videos
of these things happening where
Ipe goes, yeah.
He goes, yeah. If that's
Seabass over there, yeah, he's paying for it.
And then he goes, Shohei, Shohei,
two thumbs up. See, he just said it.
Boom, bang, we're out of there.
If that's what was taking place, which is what is
being alleged here by Shohei's,
I think this story is just going to continue to go.
And if Ipe was his mouth and his ears.
Yeah.
And power of attorney.
He was around him a lot.
So the amount of like potential, you know, stories about Shohei that aren't necessarily showing Shohei in the most positive light are potentially going to be coming.
Like this is brewing.
This is brewing very This is brewing.
Very, very large. There's a lot of conspiracies obviously kicking out there that
Shohei became a massive gambler
whenever he came to the United States. This guy's taking a fall
for him, which could be true.
We are nowhere near the end of this thing. Could be
true. Completely understandable that people
are automatically thinking that because of the history
of athletes and gambling as well in this
whole thing. But nonetheless, either way that this goes, it is going to be gigantic.
And gambling is front and center in the middle of it, just like it is now in multiple sports, which is a wild time to be alive.
Yeah, crazy.
And I think a lot of those conspiracies, and I obviously am on the record as a conspiracy theorist in some aspects.
But I think a lot of the problems—
Not some aspects.
You don't think birds are real.
Well, the thing about the birds is
you can think what you want, but that's a fact.
Not all birds will get it.
Yeah, yeah, it's a fact.
But the real problem is when it first started,
the changing of the story.
The reason those things are still running
and they'll always run,
and no matter what,
people will go back to the beginning like,
well, they changed their story a couple times,
and because of that, it's hard to believe everything, but
you just laid it out. It is so easy
for this guy to be taken advantage of when he's
in a country that he has no
idea the language.
Now, why doesn't he learn English, I think,
is what some people will say.
So he doesn't know any English, so if this guy,
that's going to be a whole other story they're going to have to say.
Like, if there's video of Ipe and Shohei
at a thing, and Ipe's talking, and then he's talking to, and he's doing this whole number.
And they're like, so you're telling me Shohei couldn't understand what anybody over there was saying.
And there's, I guess there is a chance that that is the case.
It is.
My friend was Chapman, the pitcher.
He couldn't speak a lick of English.
And I always had to have an interpreter around him when we would go out and do different things.
Like, but he didn't understand English at all.
So there's a chance that he didn't.
When I went to Japan, beautiful country.
Gorgeous.
So clean.
Cleanest, nicest, quietest, most functioning place I've ever been in my entire life.
It's not like other countries where people speak English,
you know, like where you can kind of, there was not a lot of, and their language is nothing like
ours. Nothing like ours. It is vastly different. So that was, I've been very fortunate to travel
to a lot of places. That was something I wanted to do. Even came back after my rookie year,
after traveling to Africa and Europe
and everywhere with like 2000 bucks left in my money. If I don't make the team, I'm not going to
have it. But I traveled, you know, like I wanted to go see places, do things. That's the first place
I've ever been where it's like, oh, there's a chance that nobody understands a single thing
that I'm saying. So you literally have to get to your iPhone app to go to a keyboard to translate
to Japanese to be able to have the interaction.
So like some places, I think your, your languages can kind of cross over and you have heard it.
Japan did not feel like that. Now with Shohei, who's a superstar,
you would think that at some point, like maybe a little bit of understanding,
but there's also like, why do we automatically assume that Japanese guy has to learn our
language? Like he doesn't, he doesn't doesn't have to be a professional baseball player.
So there's so many layers to this where the public opinion is going to be hard to sway, I think,
after what decision they've already made up.
It's wild.
It's very wild what Shohei's laying out.
Yeah, I mean, I think he definitely understands some English, but it's probably, it's all baseball related.
He knows strike.
He knows ball. He knows out. He knows how to communicate. Hello, how you doing? Good to see you. He knows strike, he knows ball, he knows out. He knows
how to communicate. Hello, how you doing? Good to see you.
He knows how to communicate with his teammates.
Two down. Yeah, two down, exactly.
Need to know that.
He's the biggest star in the world.
If you're not comfortable with your English,
he's getting a hundred cameras in his face
every single day.
I really don't want to go out here and look like an idiot.
I do need this interpreter.
That's why we also were talking about it.
This guy knows his schedule so well.
He knows
Shohei's going to be sleeping in the hotel
taking a nap from this time to this time.
He has all of it.
He could have prayed.
We just started talking pre-show.
If you have a hustler mindset,
which this guy potentially does. Hustler mindset, not bad, by the way you have a hustler mindset okay which this guy potentially
does hustler mindset not bad by the way when a hustler mindset is utilized in the right fact
it's great it is the right thing to have i think people would assume that we are i mean we're kind
of hustling our shit here like this is if you're a business-minded person but a hustler by trait
and you are the only outlet for the biggest star on earth you could see how maybe i don't want
to say pray but like that is a pretty easy kind of an angle especially when we talked about this
you're going to the nicest you're going to the nicest that you're meeting you're the person that
is the plug yeah for shohei otani at the nicest restaurants, the business people, everything.
You're the one.
So if you're a hustler and have that in your mind, you could easily work.
You could start working that.
And that's why the hiring of the interpreter, I don't think I've ever thought about.
That's got to be like a pure soul.
Oh, yeah.
That has to be like a very, very pure.
Not saying, once again, I assume he has his entire side,
even though he said he's the one that lost all the gambling money and Shohei kind of covered for him as a good friend.
It's like, you've got to be a real pure soul to be the entire eyes and ears and mouth for somebody in the country,
especially if he's worth $700 million at this point.
And everybody assumes he's going to be a billionaire.
It's like, you could see how the situation could get a little sideways.
Yeah, I mean, and also, who knows?
When he first came over and he wasn't
the massive superstar that he is right now,
it's possible that
more of this stuff did go through Shohei
and he was always just like, yeah, whatever.
Do what you gotta do. Yeah, that's fine.
And then eventually he's just like, oh, this guy doesn't care.
He's so busy. And then he just gives
himself autonomy to do it.
Because like you said, he's going to places.
People are treating him like Shohei Ohtani.
He's not just like, oh, the right-hand man.
It's like, hey, you want to talk to my guy?
You go through.
I might as well be Shohei.
Well, and I assume if this story is accurate, Shohei had a lot of trust in this person.
For sure.
A lot of faith in this person.
Probably thought this person was family.
Best friend.
There's people that make decisions for people's money.
They get hired without people knowing.
But if you don't, I mean,
that thing's only going to
continue to compound.
Now, speaking of sports gambling,
the NCAA, who we think are
maybe one of the dumbest groups of people that have
ever been assembled in the history
just on what they worry about, what they don't worry about,
what they focus on, what they don't focus on,
what they show the public of who they are versus what they don't.
Like, there's so many bad decisions being made at the NCAA on a regular basis
from our perspective that anything they do, you think to yourself,
idiots, why are they doing that?
They're trying to screw somebody over.
And no offense, NCAA, you've earned that reputation
by everything that you have done.
And I'm a former collegiate athlete who saw a lot of my friends.
Everybody got rich around a lot of my friends.
Nonetheless, let's move forward.
They're proposing a countrywide ban on prop bets on college players.
Hey, this feels smart.
The more and more we thought about this.
Now, Tone Diggs, you're the host of Hammer.
Which is a gambling show.
You've been gambling for a lot longer than
all that stuff, and I'm not even going to talk about
you being
Italian.
Kind of in your blood, almost.
But, as
somebody who likes a lot of options to gamble on so you can
beat the book, whenever we read this
and talked about this, we immediately were like, not a bad
idea there, actually. Yeah, I thought it was a
great idea. And yeah, we talk, we
come at books sometimes for not having options
and prop bets out there for some things. But in this case,
I think it's genius because
like in Shohei's case,
if Shohei was gambling
and he's
risking $700 million, kind of
like in that situation, like
he's risking everything. Now, there
are 333, I think, D1 college basketball programs.
Think about how many college basketball players there are.
They're all not going to be millionaires.
So they may actually be looking to throw, I'm not saying throw games,
tempted to, I'm not saying throw games, but to throw their props for sure.
So when you take that temptation out of the equation completely for NCAA players,
I think it's a genius idea because these guys,
they aren't risking everything if they're throwing their own props.
What are they risking, getting thrown off the team?
You're never going to be able to play a college basketball game.
Sweet.
I wasn't really playing anyway.
So in that situation, pros is different.
If they're throwing their props, they're risking their entire career.
They're risking millions of dollars.
But for NCAA kids, it's a pretty tempting thing to do if you're approached by the
wrong group of people or something like that.
So I think it's genius to take it all away.
And then you don't have to worry about it.
Yeah, and I think it's also, you know, if people miss out on players' prop bets,
you don't just – it's not a direct visceral. When you're a potential class or the next day, whenever you know, if people miss out on players' prop bets, it's not a direct visceral.
When you're a potential class or the next day,
whenever you know exactly, these people have to mingle amongst their peers.
Like professional athletes, it kind of comes with it.
If you're seen in public, your chance you're going to get a cost,
there's going to be things you say.
For college athletes, like after I missed those two kicks,
I had to go to class.
That was bad. Had tests. I had to go to class. Right. That was terrible.
That was bad.
Those were bad.
Had tests?
Had to go.
Not normally a class goer.
Had to go.
And it's like, I hope nobody, you know?
Yeah.
Like legitimately, I just got 27 people told me they were going to kill me.
I had people writing handwritten letters, putting them in bottles, throwing them at my house and my car.
And I'm like opening the bottle like it's a wish, like from a genie.
I read it.
You should kill yourself.
Maybe I'll do it.
They didn't mean that.
Put that back in a bottle.
Anyways, I got to go to class.
Hopefully they're not sitting next to me in this class.
These guys, if you're not hitting the over or whatever,
and you're walking around campus, I mean, there's so many.
Oh, thanks.
We won the game.
I don't care.
There's just like so many opportunities there when it comes to it.
This feels like a good idea from the NCAA.
Yeah, definitely.
And even in the pros now.
I forget who it was.
It might have been Halliburton.
It was somebody in the NBA who just came out.
I think it was Halliburton.
We're not players anymore.
We are just prop bets to these people.
They don't care about anything.
If I'm on the court, I'm not getting yelled at to play better.
I'm getting yelled at like, hey, I need you to get two more assists.
So it sounds like something that people would assume we would be against.
We're actually for it.
Joining us now is a guy who doesn't gamble,
but he certainly gives out a lot of picks and keeps his ear to the ground.
Not going to say what country his family is from,
although it looks like a boot.
Ladies and gentlemen, a man who's been everything in the NFL,
friend of the program, family of the program,
Paisano Michael Lombardi.
Hey, Lambo. What's up, gentlemen?
How we doing? Longbow, life is great.
Brother, how are you?
I'm good. I loved
how David Tepper stepped in there.
I loved that. I thought that was awesome
yesterday. He's obviously a friend of the program
listening to it, so that's good news.
That was two days ago, actually.
Yesterday, he did not come on.
He did not.
But we did.
I miss it.
I get my days mixed up.
It's okay.
Clips.
Everybody, literally, I think that's how a lot of people watch our program, and they're
seeing clips from like a week ago.
I'll get a text from a friend that's like, what you said about whatever was awesome.
And I'm like, where are you?
Because that has potentially
evolved since where we
are now to when we were then.
So we appreciate you keeping up. Tepper
did turn down yesterday, but we were told
directly, and this is breaking.
Sources have told us from the Panthers
Tepper does not hate us.
Okay, that's big. That's huge.
Good news.
That's huge news. Because he'll buy the Thunderdome. He'll buy. That's huge. Good news. That's good. That's huge news.
That's good news.
Because he'll buy a Thunderdome.
Yeah.
He'll buy a Thunderdome.
Level it up.
Level it up.
I get an email.
I get a letter here, and I'd open it.
I'd like to buy your piece of property, and it's like 10x what I bought it for, and I'd
be like, that's a good deal.
And then I'd go, CFO Phil, let's go ahead and we'll find.
Yeah, reach out.
We'll find somewhere else.
And then we sell it, and then Tepper pops up.
It was me, bitch.
But it tears the whole thing down.
I was thinking about that after the whole Schefter-Tep.
But what we were told is that's not the case.
And they actually, from what I've been told, source says,
have told me that there's a contingency within the Carolina Panthers
who have been trying to pitch Tepper to come on our show.
Here we go.
He should.
Yeah.
Well, I think so because we would present all the,
hey, so when we hear about this,
it's natural for us to think about this.
What are we getting wrong here?
From what we've heard, Tepper's a great,
so at least we get his side of this.
He'll fight.
It's good news.
So maybe it'll happen.
Absolutely.
League meetings were awesome.
You've been there to a bunch of those.
Let's talk about what the ncaa is doing okay the ncaa they're pitching to ban all prop bets on players and student human athletes we like that move even though we enjoy
sports gambling we think it protects people especially collegiate athletes as opposed to
professional athletes do you think there's conversations about sports gambling happening
at those league meetings that we don't hear about we hear about the kickoff we hear about the you know the hip drop tackle the challenges
that type of stuff are they addressing like sports gambling because right now the nba's got something
going on the mlb's got something going on ncaa's got something going on do you think the nfl is
addressing that at these meetings or what do you how do you think it's all being talked about
well i definitely think they'll address anything at those meetings in the private sessions where
they can kind of have conversations about
where the game's going to go how can they improve it and certainly with the interaction between
gambling that's legal in states and being sponsors to a lot of the advertising it goes both ways and
so do the so do the mate so do the gambling companies they want to make sure that that all
these things are tightened down because if you read billy walters book and he talks a lot about the the perception that you know that it's on the wrong side of the
tracks and by having legalized gambling the better the professional better like walters
he wants the bet he wants everything to have integrity and he's promoting integrity
and so does the sports book.
So there's a two-way street.
Well, we all need it.
We all need the integrity of the game to stay.
I think that's really important.
Don't you think so, Lombo?
We all need the integrity.
Absolutely.
Even as ex-players.
It's like whenever a player gets caught gambling,
like the Calvin Ridley situation a couple years back.
Ex-player, I am always going to try to see through the eyes of the player
and see how or why this happened.
We just did it with Shohei.
Like everybody's assuming Shohei's gambling.
I'm like, there's a chance.
And we've seen it in the past where Shohei got preyed upon almost by a hustler.
And there's a chance this was all a misunderstanding,
especially with multiple different languages.
But whenever the Calvin Ridley thing happened,
it was like immediately in my head, I was like, can't happen.
Like, you're kind of taught that as a player going in.
Don't be Pete Rose.
There's like literally signs everywhere.
And that's because if you
ruin the integrity of the game,
it's not only like fans are like, well,
they're already saying it's scripted, but if it got
even louder, you lose fans.
The gambling money dead because
nobody wants to gamble. It's like the whole business
dies if the
product on the field gets questioned
at all. So don't they need
to keep that and figure that out and players we promise you whenever you retire you're going to
be a great gamblers of all time for sure you're going to be so much smarter so much better the
gambling world's still going to exist we promise you just we need you to wait for the good of
everybody and now is that selfish because we need sports to continue to be great and not be
questioned and not have their integrity uh jeopardized yes so that's coming from a biased opinion but also for the good
of sport at people that are partaking inside of it cannot be like that can't be a thing your your
gamble is the contract that you signed that's what needs you know what i mean like i think that needs
to continue no question to be pushed and that and that's the commissioner's main job pat i mean he
he the commissioner's main job when he sits down and looks at his job description
is to protect the integrity of the game.
And I think Goodell has done a good job of being ahead of that curve
and making sure that everybody understands it.
And we had a mishap last year in terms of communication.
I think they did a better job this offseason of educating the players on what they can and can't do.
But that's the main job of any commissioner in any sport is to protect the integrity of the game
and make sure that there's fairness not only for the sports bettors, which are legal in certain states,
but for the people participating, for their families that are dependent upon the outcome of the game.
And teammates of the guys.
I don't need to hear that one of my teammates
is actively sabotaging.
Yeah, sure.
Like this is Jonte Porter.
Yeah.
In Toronto.
Toronto, yeah.
Yeah, where it's being reported, alleged.
This is not, none of this is, it's being alleged.
He was like, ah, I'm sick, and gets out
before hitting his over on any of his points
or rebounds or anything like that.
It's like, what if his teammates were like,
well, I was feeling like shit too that night.
It's not good for anybody.
So we hope that all the players do the right thing.
You guys will do the right thing.
You all will do the right thing.
Ty's got a question for you about draft season.
Yeah, Lambeau, just curious.
All the stuff with J.J. McCarthy, obviously we hear Jim Harbaugh saying he's the best quarterback in this draft.
He's never seen a pro day better than that.
And I know mock drafts are kind of, you take those with a grain of salt,
but as we get closer to the draft now, a lot of people have teams
trading up to number four to get J.J. McCarthy there,
where kind of all season leading up to this,
it was almost assumed that he would be the fifth guy or into that 10 to 15 J.J. McCarthy there, where kind of all season leading up to this, it was almost assumed that he would be the fifth guy
or, you know, into that like 10 to 15 range.
Do you think his kind of meteoric rise over the last few weeks is legit,
or do you think that's mostly just media propaganda?
Remember, this time last year, Ty,
Will Levis was 4-1 to go first pick overall in the entire draft.
Okay, so this rhetoric that's going around now is typical of the season that we're in,
especially once free agency ends.
It's the who can prompt up things, and some of it comes from the agents.
Some of it might be coming from the Arizona Cardinals because, you know, they want to sell their pick.
They make no bones about it.
And if there's a sense of urgency that you've got to move up to get J.J. McCarthy then you know they're going to be the beneficiaries
of that and Harbaugh I think is being dead honest about it you know I think he's he sincerely
believes that I know in my conversations with him this summer he was feeling that way but it's
different to say he's the best quarterback in the draft than it is to grade the quarterbacks in the
draft and I think the biggest mistake we make to grade the quarterbacks in the draft.
And I think the biggest mistake we make in grading these quarterbacks is we don't look back to other quarterbacks or the players currently in the NFL and say, how does this player stack up to that
player? And what's the grade on them? We always just talk about where they're going to go,
but people in the league are talking about how they're going to play. And that's the difference,
right? So if you draft, for example, you drafted Kenny Pickett in the league are talking about how they're going to play and that's the different right so if you draft for example you drafted kenny pickett in the first round there was a
good chance when you drafted pickett and and digs knows this that he was never going to be a top 10
player in his position maybe he was going to be good enough but he was never going to be in that
and the grade that indicates that first round he should be. So a lot of this conversation is just based on where are they
going to go. And it creates a sense of urgency to promote teams to try to do something. And
most teams are fairly smart and going to stay with their board. Now, I do think there are teams that
want to improve their quarterbacking, certainly Denver. And we know Sean Payton has a history of
moving up in any draft. Look at his career in new orleans and he could do that if
he sees the right guy okay so that you said a lot of good stuff there and sean payton definitely
needs something so maybe he'll make a play for jj mccarthy could you imagine sean payton and jj by
the way just two winners oh yeah two winners that's what they do um you said about because
we do it during draft season this guy's better than this guy this draft class they all might be
bus they all might be busts.
They all might be Hall of Famers, but we're comparing them there.
And teams are like, well, is he better than our backup right now?
If our backup was to be coming out right now,
how would he stack up against his class?
We don't even venture into that conversation at all.
But J.J., it feels like, you know, and this happens every year.
Ty alluded to it.
It feels like he is the guy. And we every year, Ty alluded to it, it feels like he is the guy.
And we just learned yesterday, Lombo, hockey player.
Yeah.
Did you know that?
I didn't know he was a hockey player.
I had no idea.
Yeah, I mean, this kid is, you know,
obviously he's been a winner on every level that he's played.
And Jim told me a story there.
Remember when there was a debate whether Cade McNamara and J.J. McCarthy were going to be the starter,
and Jim was rotating them in the first four games?
Well, Jim did that because he wanted to prove to everybody what he thought was the right thing to do,
which was to start McCarthy.
And eventually, through those four games, that's what happened.
Because there were people within the Michigan program that thought McNamara was the better player.
And I think Jim proved it with the way he handled it.
So he's been on board with this because of the background.
Now, I think you've got to be really careful.
We tend to really fall in love with the player.
We fall in love with the character, believing that we can make the player better because of his
character and sometimes that's true but sometimes there's some innate flaws that go within that
that you can't over correct and i think you got to be really delicate and this quarterback look
there has been 60 69 quarterbacks that drafted since 2000 in the first round 69 if you count if you take last year out of it 66 basically
and 36 of the 66 have been bust so if we're talking six in the first round we know not all
six are going to be really good players to the level that we need them to become
and you have to do a really good job of understanding what you're looking for and
what would work best for what
you do within the framework of your offense. And that's where guys like Sean Payton gain a huge
advantage because he understands it. We never hear mock drafters talk about, well, the guy's
a progression read quarterback. No, he's really just a half read quarterback, right? There's a
difference between the two. A lot of teams do different things in that sense and you know we all talk well every not not every team reads progressions out they high low things
on side so i i think you got to be really careful and the best way to evaluate quarterbacks is is
what you don't see that's what you don't see is what she tells you the biggest story that mick
shanahan tree is i don't want to say easier on a quarterback,
but it is on what we're looking for and how we're looking for it,
as opposed to Sean Payton's going to make you, right?
I mean, you've got to be, that's a full on,
which is potentially why Russ gets dropped in that system, got to learn it.
He's trying to learn the system as well on top of everything else.
He's going to go to Pittsburgh and dominate.
That's what I heard from Mark Boley already.
But the quarterback, college quarterback.
I saw him get on the show yesterday.
I had a tough time getting in that chair.
Watch your back, Lombo.
Those were top chairs.
Those were top chairs.
Boley had his Achilles wrapped, too.
I listened to him.
I was impressed.
I loved him.
He seems like he's wired within the program.
So that's a good thing.
The thing I think when you watch these quarterbacks too i think you have to really
pay close attention to you know i can still remember this as if yesterday and it's 1986
i'm walking carrying bill walsh's bags because back in 86 there were no backpacks so i had to
carry his books around and i'm in the hoosier dome they're walking behind him and he stops and he
says who's that quarterback over there and he he sees Rich Gannon from the University of
Delaware moving around and throwing the ball, and he says, make sure Holmgren goes and works
that kid out, because Walsh fell in love with foot quickness. If you watch Steve Young play
at the LA Express or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, forget about the BYU experience. His footwork
was great. It was one read and go
the way he played, which was not the way teams wanted to. And Walsh saw his footwork and saw
that he could do something with him. He saw something others didn't. And then Young had
this great career when he came to the 49ers. So I think that's really what we have to be in
perspective. Everybody just wants to grade the production of the court. Oh, he completed this
pass. Oh yeah, he did this. He did that. Oh, he completed this pass. Oh, yeah, he did this.
He did that.
Oh, he missed this throw here.
He missed that throw.
And I think that lends you to make a mistake.
I know on Josh Allen, I was overly critical of his accuracy issues.
I didn't think they could overcome those, which to turn away from, he's got this incredible size that, yeah, he's not always the most accurate, but that size wins more battles than loses and then what we learned
is good work ethic humble guy energetic guy wanted to get better each off season went to work you
know and he was able to fix it but that's some of the things you're trying to learn about a guy
going into the draft process is like is this guy going to get better when he gets a job and gets
money or is he just going to be the same josh allen's like the guy that is almost the
prototype of like every year actual s actual get better which is a huge part of this whole
draft process trying to learn who the hell you're drafting what you're getting in this pick
now let's talk about situations because there's a situation brewing potentially in
los angeles go ahead con man yeah alonbo as you do you come on here you say a bunch of incredibly
smart things and half of
them are just breaking news that no one knows
about yet. And last year, that
happened when you said that the Rams were shopping
Matt Stafford around. Now,
obviously, the Rams were in a different
place. They went to the playoffs last year. They
kind of pretty quickly
rebuilt that Super Bowl team.
Do you think there's a chance that this
offseason, even though they had
success last year, that the Rams will shop Stafford again around? Or do you think that because of how
good the team already is again, that they'll keep him and he'll ride out the rest of his contract
and then probably call it a career outside of Los Angeles? Well, I think the shopping took place
because he had a huge guarantee that was due. And once they guaranteed that money, I think the shopping took place because he had a huge guarantee that was due.
And once they guaranteed that money, I think they locked themselves in for two years.
But I truly think the Rams will be players in a quarterback that McVay likes because I think he knows he needs to set the tone going forward.
They signed Jimmy Garoppolo as the backup this year.
You know, they found Stetson Bennett.
He came back to the team.
So they had him, they drafted him in the fourth round.
But my sense of it is, is.
Shout out to Stetson coming back.
Welcome back, Stetson.
Shout out to Stetson coming back.
Don't rule them out.
I mean, this is the perfect time for them to take the quarterback.
It would be if they liked one.
It would be the perfect time because Matthew's still going to play.
We saw last year when he got
hurt, they were not very good. And if he stays healthy, they can be an effective team. But
I think it's the perfect time for them to take a young quarterback and that would keep McVay
energized. Now, look, they have other needs too, but they've done a good job this offseason of
repairing their offensive line. And let's face it, you're not replacing Aaron Donald. So forget
about that. So that moves, that goes without Aaron Donald. So forget about that, right?
So that goes without being said.
So don't count him in the gain-loss when you go through it because that's going to be a double loss.
But I think it's the perfect time for them
because they need to have somebody to bridge them to the future.
Now, they can wait another year if they thought maybe next year that could happen,
but I think McVay's one of those guys that evaluates all the quarterbacks every year.
Look, if you're not evaluating all the quarterbacks in every single draft,
and I don't mean just the top three, I mean all of them.
If you went into a team meeting, if you were a defense coordinator,
and you can ask Chuck Pagano this, if you were with Al Davis
and he started asking you about the quarterbacks
and you were a defensive coach and you didn't know about it,
you were going to get an ass-chewing because he wanted you to understand the college quarterbacks
because if you were coaching against him in pro, you kind of had a background on what they did.
You had to know that. You had to understand that there's a sudden change. Okay, here comes Stetson
Bennett. I scouted him. Here's what he's good at and here's what he's not. Boom. I don't have to
think about it or I don't be unprepared. And that's why you have
to do every quarterback in every draft.
Everybody knows Stetson Bennett.
Stetson Bennett's a dog.
Raises hell
down in Athens.
Raising a lot of hell
down there. From what we've heard, Stetson's just a good
old boy. Sweet boy. Not mean
and no harm. Have a good time
throwing the ball around. Loving life, boy.
Winning championships down there in Georgia.
I guess he has a farm not that far out
from Athens. And then
I guess he was seen at a couple Georgia football
games after
leaving the Rams. Sure.
I don't think anybody at the University of Georgia knew
he was coming. He just kind of,
won't go to the ball game today? Got tickets
sat in a crowd. I think he is just like one of one from what we have heard.
Great to see him back.
Stetson, howdy, baby.
Welcome back to football, Stetson.
Great to have you, obviously.
Tone's got a question for you.
Yeah, Lambo, since we were just at the league meetings,
it got me thinking how much since every owner's there, every coach is there,
every GM's there, how much business is done between GM's there?
Or is it all about kind of what they're voting on,
like the kickoff roll and stuff like that?
Or are they already talking?
Are the GM's getting together and saying,
hey, this happens in the draft,
maybe look for us to call and move up?
Is there normal GM business as well going on there?
Not as much.
I think there's still conversations
about where we're going to go.
You go into this workout go you go into this
workout you go into that workout did you see that guy you know hey if you're interested in doing
something let us know you know and then there's all the rhetoric that goes through it the jets
aren't trying to trade zach wilson or they are trying to trade them you know when you listen to
all the commentary that comes out of there but i think the main business is the is really nothing
ever is going to get put up to a vote unless they feel like they can get it passed, like the new kickoff rule that we got.
I didn't think that would pass.
But once they put it up for a vote, nobody counts votes other than Lyndon Johnson and the NFL owners.
They can count them really well.
And so when they put them up for a vote, you knew he had enough votes to win it.
I find it interesting they got that passed, but only three negative votes within it i thought there would be more yeah that's and i
guess they had the there was one day they were going to put it up for a vote they didn't feel
as if they had as many so then they had to go shop and sell i guess that pool and there's a bar
there's a couple spots yeah that's the intrigue about the owners meetings is all the selling and
the lobbying it is truly like the capital and in washington it is okay you do this we do okay now i got your vote we go back in
and see what happens i was in one where commissioner tagliabue thought he had the vote
and he and when he called the vote he didn't get it and it just everybody it was an angry time
because they they don't call for a vote unless they know this is just not, oh, we're going to give it a shot.
This isn't an actual vote.
No.
This is a declaration of things that are happening.
Why are you wasting my damn time?
Jesus.
Yay, nay.
We ain't here for that.
This is a, hey, this is happening.
Right?
Right.
Let's move on.
We all agree.
Here's where we're going.
All right, now let's vote.
I guess there's a little bit of a gathering we learned.
Monday night.
Monday night, but I guess there is
potentially one earlier in the weekend
where there is a hangout
and a little bit of
how we doing.
What are your thoughts on this?
I don't know.
And then Jim Harbaugh is acting out with the
hip drop tackle, Liz.
He did that to me in the hallway.
It was fantastic.
Literally. Literally doing the full...
I think he's living his best life,
Pat. I think he's living his best life because
the guy loves the Rockford Files and now
I just found out he's living in an RV somewhere
near the facility.
I think he's living his best life. I think
he's become Jim Rockford. I really do.
I think he's happy. Maybe he'll settle for $200 become Jim Rockford. I really do. I think he's happy.
Maybe he'll settle for $200 a day plus expenses.
I doubt it, but, you know, why not?
Those RV communities with all the bums in L.A. have a hierarchy.
He needs to make sure that he's paying his respects to whoever's in the biggest,
baddest, dirtiest RV around there in L.A.
But this man is awesome.
We just got his business card from Schefter yesterday and we read it on the internet
of all his keys to life and everything he thinks
and it's like, this guy
is fantastic. How happy is he?
And how lucky are we?
He goes to Michigan, he restores
greatness to his alma mater.
So now every Michigan man and woman forever
is going to be like, thank you, Mr. Harbaugh.
You're the greatest Michigan Wolverine of all time, which he
said, if he was dead as they put dirt on top of the wood on top of him.
This is the actual quote.
And they said I was a good Michigan man.
That'd be enough for me, man.
So he is now the greatest Michigan man of all time.
Wins a national championship, gets him back.
Able to leave without controversy.
Nobody's mad.
All these other coaches leave, their fan base is pissed.
You're a sellout.
Especially after winning a national championship.
Leaving us like this.
Right? We did it. Okay, cool.
Now he's going, he's got Justin Herbert
and he's able to do whatever the hell he wants.
Everybody has respect for him. Sitting great in the draft.
He's already been great in the NFL. He's got old friends
in the NFL. His brother is now legendary
Hall of Fame coach in the NFL already He's got old friends in the NFL. His brother is now legendary Hall of Fame coach in the NFL already.
In a great spot in the draft.
He's got an owner that needs it in a city that wants it.
They're rebuilding the facility.
It's like he's got a great setup, but he also, even if it wasn't a great setup,
in his mind, it's like who's got it better than us?
Nobody.
Him showing me why the hip drop tackle has to be eliminated was just awesome.
Do I know Jim?
I've talked to him three times.
Yep.
And as soon as I see him in the hallway, he's down at the end of the hallway,
I go, Jim, coach.
And he turns just like that.
Just like that.
It was like a movie character.
I go, you're the man.
He goes, I'm the man.
I go, you're the man.
It was all my glasses so he had
no idea so he goes he goes in gets his glasses puts his glasses on he goes Pat no you're the man
and then there's a full-on walk and then that's when the whole we're just trying to get this one
out of the game and he's doing it on me like wrapping his mitts around me in a sport coat
in a suit and you know we just don't want this one. And he was like, oh, pretty good, because I was like standing pretty strong.
It was like, this guy is a character.
I hope he wins the Super Bowl.
Now, is it going to be easy at the Chargers?
Absolutely not.
Is it going to be easy in the current NFL?
Absolutely not.
But I hope that man gets a chance to do, you know, the Super Bowl media.
Every time he's talking, he's just at peace.
I'm excited to see how he handles his modern NFL
and the hip drop tackles.
You know, because he might like it now.
Fourth quarter, though.
You've got the Chiefs.
Travis Kelsey does a little shimmy.
Derwin James.
Tanks from the side.
First down, we're in field goal range.
Bucker hits one through.
You lose.
And a subjective call there.
I don't know how they're going to call that, Lambeau.
Oh, man.
Scott Novak's got his flags out.
He's practicing in his driveway.
He's going to call that like crazy.
You can't.
I mean, Scott Novak, he's excited to call that bad boy.
Nobody calls him more than Scott.
I can imagine they'll be practicing throwing those flags like crazy.
There's certain guys you go to the game and say,
oh, we got Novak this week.
Good luck.
There's going to be a lot of laundry there.
The thing is, they're acting as if it's not, though.
They're like, we just want something to be able to find guys so that maybe that will alter their behavior, seemingly.
Like, I don't know.
Go ahead.
But you know, Pat, it's how they teach it, right?
So, like, we can all, the coaches are teachers.
And if they can demonstrate how they want the coaches to teach
tackling right if they can demonstrate this then the coaches can then educate it's a little bit
like when we tackle the quarterback and you used to land on top of them and then they said no no no
you 350 pound man you have to move your body to the side not easy to do but you got to do that
right and eventually these athletes that as great as they are they moved their body to the side. Not easy to do, but you got to do that, right? And eventually, these athletes, that as great as they are,
they moved their body to the side and they were able to adapt to it.
It really comes down to how the league wants the coaches
and tells the coaches to teach it.
And then you've got to be in the same page with the officials
on what the coaches are teaching and what they're going to call.
And there can't be a disconnect.
And that's where we get into a lot of gray area when it comes to officiating.
We just don't want the game ruined.
Exactly.
Nobody wants the game ruined, but the NFL doesn't either.
So we got to remember that, I guess.
Let's go back to the draft.
Pac-Man's got a question for you, Lombo.
Lombo, the wide receiver group this year is a very deep group.
Marvin Harrison Jr. is the leader.
The two kids from LSU are really good.
Rome from Washington have one up. deep group. Marvin Harrison Jr. is the leader. The two kids from LSU are really good. Rome
from Washington have went up.
Is there any chance
that Marvin Harrison Jr. will
not be the first pick?
Today's the LSU workout
day, so Neighbors is going to work out. Thomas
is going to work out. Obviously, Jaden Daniels
is working out. What he weighs will be an important
thing toward the draft as well.
Yeah, I do. I think there's a lot of people that think neighbors has that unbelievably explosive ability that you look
for in a number one receiver you know one of the things you have to do pac-man when you grade
receivers is you've got to be able to classify them as are they inside outside what's their role
right and not everybody's the number one receiver i know that all we're going to listen to in the
next four weeks about mock draft is who's the number one receiver.
Number one receivers are one of the hardest positions to really dominate in the league, as you know.
I mean, that's a guy that can get open against double coverage, that the coverage has to get rolled to, that people are scared to death to play.
And Navers fits that mold.
Now, Marvin is really good, too.
Don't get me wrong.
Marvin's big. He's athletic. he can run with it after the catch and I think ultimately you know when you're
breaking down this board if you're going to draft one that early you want man I'm sure you're going
to get a guy who is the number one who's going to draw coverage to him and he's going to allow you
to set up the offense around what he can do at his position so yeah i think there's a lot of love for
neighbors within the league within the within the nfl community in terms of grades and his ability
that doesn't dismiss harrison's talent whatsoever right remember pat the draft one of this reminds
me edwin james when he got selected by bill paulian in the first round ricky williams
went the next pick everybody was completely surprised by that.
So I think, you know, sometimes the mocks tend to perceive
what's actually going to happen when people kind of have it maybe closer
or they're looking for something just a little bit different.
I have a question for you about Marvin Harrison,
how he's handled this entire thing, not working out his pro day,
not doing anything at the Combine.
My sources have told me that you know his dad potentially alongside
everybody else was we're not stopping football drills we're doing football we're running routes
we're catching balls we're football players we're not getting ready for running a 40-yard dash doing
a three-cone drill doing a vert that isn't really needed. Watch the film. He's fast enough to get open.
His radius is big enough. He can jump. He can do it all. That's what I have heard. Sources
close to the family have said that, but how do you think GMs are going to take that? How do you
think everybody's going to react to that? Because it seems to be logical, especially for a guy whose
resume is seemingly proven he's going to be a Sundayay guy he's a legacy player his dad obviously hall of famer at the same exact
position he has uncles around uh you know football that are all hall of famers it's like everything
about him screams this guy's going to have at least a 10-year career because he lives it right
you hear his work ethic is absurd are all g now obviously not everybody can handle this
like marvin harrison has right but in this particular case do you think any gms are
thinking about that or how do you think they're viewing it all no i think he's an exception right
i think the word you used is appropriate the resume his his tape speaks for itself right
and his size speaks for itself too because one of the things I think we lose sight of with these
guys that are so tall and they have longer wingspan and they have a longer target radius
is their ability you know their ability to be open and to get the ball it doesn't necessarily
translate into the 40 time right we've seen this happen in the NFL I mean guys that don't have
great 40 times that make plays down the field
because of their ability to extend their arms, to play big.
And that's important.
And I think Harrison demonstrates that on the tape.
Now, you know, he's got a resume to back that up.
And certainly he can prove that.
He's played at a very young age.
We saw him catch balls last year for C.J. Stroud, so you can see that.
I don't think it's going to hurt.
It's going to be the exception, though.
I don't think everybody wants to do it, whereas the neighbors, look,
neighbors is excited.
I'm sure he's excited to work out because he feels like, hey,
maybe I could pass Harrison if I just put a really great 40 time.
One thing I know about players like this, they're usually really competitive.
You know, they're really, really competitive.
I remember I wanted to work out Michael Irvin, and Michael Irvin wouldn't really, really competitive. I remember I wanted
to work out Michael Irvin. And Michael Irvin wouldn't work out for anybody. And so I called
him this is back in 88 or something. And there was no cell phones. And there was no, I none of that.
And I and I called him on the phone. And I said, Michael, I'll work you out. And, and I and I
pretended I was Marty Schottenheimer. And he said, Oh, yeah, Coach Schottenheimer, I'll work out for you anytime.
Now, he wasn't working out for anybody.
So when I get down there, he sees this fat guy from New Jersey.
I ain't Marty Schottenheimer.
He said, I ain't working out for you.
Well, then when I started working out with other guys, he came over and said, damn, I'll do that.
That's no problem.
I'll kick that.
And he came over and worked out.
So the competitive fire comes out in the players, and you just love it.
And I think Harrison would be just like that.
How about, didn't Irvin say Green Bay, if you draft me, I'm not going to.
He's, when he speaks, I'm listening.
Always.
He looks good, too.
Donnie, he looks good right now.
Oh, yeah.
He was on the, I was working guys out on the basketball court.
We had this athletic testing thing called the box, and he was on the other court.
And I was on setting it up, and guys were doing the drills, we had this athletic testing thing called the box and he was on the other court and i was on setting it up and guys were doing the drills and he kept peeking
over and finally he came over to me and said dude i'll do that i don't think he knew my name or
anything he knew i wasn't schottenheimer though and he ended up doing it and it was impressive
and he killed it it was unbelievable you could see him on the basketball court like really if
you want to watch marvin harrison and think what kind of number one receiver he could be watch him
go play hoops.
There's a lot in there, especially now guys are playing more basketball publicly.
Yep.
Watch him play hoops.
Because there for a while, remember, they were trying to say you shouldn't play basketball, you'll get hurt, you'll ruin your career.
That was becoming a narrative, narrative, narrative.
This younger generation is like, we're out here.
And it's good for future generations.
You're allowed to play other sports.
You're allowed to have cardio that is different sports. You're allowed to develop different skills from other sports.
You don't need to be a specialist in one thing.
It has worked for people. Being a specialist in one
thing has worked for people, but
we need to keep all
around athletes. You need to do it, and
you can display it. Neighbors ran it 4-3-5
just now.
4-3-5 down at the LSU Pro
and he is absolutely the job.
That's a big man, too.
That's a big man, too.
Congratulations, sir.
Congratulations.
You're bigger, stronger, faster than any of us ever will be.
You're going to be a first-round draft pick.
How about that?
On this show, we're breaking the news.
Neighbors is going to be a first-round draft pick.
Congrats to him.
That's all we needed to see was that 40 right there.
We needed to see what it was,
but now he's passed our test.
We appreciate you, Lombo. You're the man.
Thank you, Pat. Thanks, everybody.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Paizano, Michael Lombardi. Thank you.
We learned a lot in there.
The Marvin Harrison Jr. thing is interesting
because I did have somebody reach out
and was like, yeah, we're not doing track drills.
Because it was loud for him.
Yeah, like, this guy ain't going to do a pro day.
He's not going to work out of the combine.
If they want to go do a run routes and do, okay, we'll do football.
But we're not going to stop football training so we can do track training right before the biggest year of his life is about to take place.
That's not going to happen.
He is, that is not normal, though.
You know, his dad helps out a lot with that, but also all of his uncles, his family, everybody
that he knows around the NFL and his resume, what he has done on the field at Ohio State.
You package all the, it's not fair, okay, for other people.
It's not fair.
But also, it's not Marvin Harrison Jr.'s fault either. No. It's not fair, okay, for other people. It's not fair. But also, it's not Marvin Harrison Jr.'s fault either.
It's not his fault either.
I was about to say, like, if his dad wasn't his dad,
maybe teams would see it as a red flag or something like that,
but they're like, oh, his dad's just telling him, like,
okay, this is bullshit.
He's been a top five pick for the past three years.
Like, it's not as if he came out of nowhere last season,
and this is a surprise to everybody.
It is awesome, though, to hear the news be like
Roma Dunzey maybe
Good question out of Washington
Maybe he gets picked up for Marv because Marv doesn't want to run in his pro day
Interesting
It's like well who said that? Was that Roma Dunzey's agent?
Is he the one that's hearing that?
Or are these teams that maybe want Marv to fall?
There's so many different games
That could potentially happen
He also really has no benefit. He has
all the leverage. Even if he goes out
and runs a 4-1,
guess what? There's probably going to be three quarterbacks
that go in front of him still.
Why would he? If he doesn't run a 4-1,
he's going to run a 4-1.
Our wonderful sports are fantastic.
I have a tag hanging out of my pants on this glorious What Closer at the Thunderdome Wednesday.
We are incredibly lucky to be here talking about all the happenings around sports.
We had Michael Lombardi on in the first hour breaking down everything around the NFL, the business of the NFL.
This hour should be fantastic.
We got Daniel Jeremiah, also known as Move the Sticks, joining us.
He's the one doing the analysis at the Combine on every single draft
prospect. LSU has its pro day today.
Other things are happening. We'll hit that with him.
It's not just him this hour, though.
No, no. There's a great group of
dudes. The Talks at Table is here
at Boston Corner and at Ty Schmidt.
A lot of mono on your head there, pal.
Yeah, I had to. After being in
Dewey's presence on Friday
and just realized... Monday, yeah.
Excuse me. Monday.
The days right now.
It's Wednesday.
I had no idea
what day of the week it was when I came in this morning.
One half of the hammer? None.
Cowboys turned digs. Thought it was Saturday this morning
when he woke up. As did you, it sounds like.
Oh, yeah. It's weird.
A lot of traveling early in the week.
But, yeah, after we saw what The Rock did to Cody Rhodes, look what you've done.
Look what you've done, Mama Rhodes.
Mama.
I was like, you know what?
Yeah, I'm going to put this to bed.
I'm wearing a Taramona hat today.
I did pledge my allegiance to the bloodline as well on Monday, seemingly with the Amisachi
search shirt that I had on.
Right.
But what the bloodline has done for us is obviously phenomenal.
Yeah.
Kept the WWE running pretty much.
Roman came nine.
Love Cody Rhodes.
Love Cody.
Of course.
Love the American Nightmare.
Yeah.
Seth freaking Rollins.
Love that guy.
Burn and die.
I'm going to buy his wife's book.
Yes.
It's available.
Right.
Not your average girl.
Right.
I can't wait for all that.
But with that being said, we acknowledge our tribal chief around here. Always. And your average girl. I can't wait for all that. But with that being said,
we acknowledge our tribal chief, Ron,
and the final boss. We do 100%, but
Connor, I don't know. Connor was
singing Cody Rhodes' entrance song probably
300, 400 times.
Whoa!
I understand, but the
whole reason Tony is saying that is so that I
can tell the real story that he would not
stop yelling.
Throughout the entire show.
It's catchy.
So actually, I had this entire, I got a chance to sit down for something.
They're filming for The Rock in the back.
And I was asked about the reaction of the fans.
You know, because Rock Roman potentially happening.
Then Rock Roman not happening because the We Want cody fans got cody roads in there to
finish the story which has been that's what some people they're all cry babies okay that's what
some people are saying from the bloodlines perspective but it's like a this is a generational
thing so everybody that's in the arenas now that are buying the tickets buying the merch going to
every single monday night raw show sure they are thank you cody roads for showing up every single
week three times a week winning the royal
rumble battling through a torn pack like he's the one staying afterwards for 45 minutes taking
pictures there but like the arenas whatever that hits it is loud yes loud but then you got you know
another generation that just watches on monday watches on friday watches pay-per-views you know
rock room what are we even rock what are we even talking about in this entire thing?
So I think it is like a generational clash almost.
But when you're in those arenas, it's hard not to get caught up in the American nightmare.
I mean, it is.
Oh, yeah.
That intro is phenomenal.
And the air that they blow, the smoke, it's like cold.
And it comes right down that ramp, right to me in cold. And I'm normally sweating my ass off. So not only does Cody Rhodes bring the energy and the smoke, it's like cold. And it comes right down that ramp right to me and Cole. And I'm normally sweating
my ass off. So not only
does Cody Rhodes bring the energy and the juice,
he gives me a nice cold air.
It kind of cools me off. So it's literally
a very joyful occasion
when Cody Rhodes comes out every single Monday night.
Someone who didn't watch the WWE
basically until you joined in 2017
or 18, whenever it was.
This era right now, for sure, the past couple years and COVID
and the Thunderdome and everything, but like right now is so sick.
As someone who has followed, I feel like everyone who's involved pretty heavily
and that are the main storylines from when they kind of first started out.
Like Rhea Ripley was in NXT when I started watching the WWE.
And now she is. She's mommy.
And mommy's always on
top. It is awesome.
Next week is going to be
unbelievable.
That is the other thing too that people
don't really realize though. When you're
actually in the arena, obviously
it's awesome on TV,
but to see those people
around us go apeshit after
Cody did his thing and The Rock's
music hits, it's just...
You're not finding that anywhere else.
You almost wish you could bottle that up
because the excitement in there is so genuine.
This is WrestleMania. Exactly.
And the show ended with one nip out,
one cardio weight belt
made out for Mama Rhodes.
Look what you've done.
In her baby boy's blood. Look at you. Look at you. Look-cart D.O. white belt made out for Mama Rhodes. Look what you've done. In her baby boy's blood.
Look what you've done.
I mean, like, listen.
Look at you.
Look at you.
Look at you now.
Look at you now.
Look at your hero, Chicago.
Like, listening to people at Chili's.
When we were at Chili's, the guys behind us were all going to the Raw show later that
night.
And, like, hearing people who have been in the WWE universe their whole lives talk about
this era too
also just a whole nother level we're in a good spot yeah we're in a good spot we're like uh
10 days away from wrestlemania philadelphia it's going to be fantastic a man has been a champion
in professional wrestling a 14-year nfl vet a universal record signed rapper stand on business
available now pac-man john yeah pac-man you've been in the you've been in the ring for yeah signed rapper, stand-on business. S.O.B. Available now, Pac-Man Jones.
Yeah, Pac!
Pac-Man, you've been in the ring before.
Yeah.
Hurts.
Yes.
Yes.
Your tag team partner that you were champion with is still doing it right now.
Our truth is killing it.
He's on TV.
It's great.
It's like everything.
It is good.
It's very good right now.
Every time I show up there,
I have no idea what's about to take place but i
look at cole and i'm like let's have a three-hour show of whatever and it literally because we had
no idea the rock was there either that was surprising nowhere it's awesome it's magnetic
joining us now is a man who's a massive mark huge a guy who's been in a couple wwe angles and
programs he's a couple guys, super fans.
I saw him acknowledging his tribal chief
and his mommy at a press conference in Vegas.
Ladies and gentlemen, the all-time leading tackler
for the Green Bay Packers,
a man who's in WWE 2K24,
AJ Hawker.
Hawker, I don't think you acknowledge your tribal chief
often enough,
but I do respect the fact that you love the bloodline,
and the WWE is welcoming you into their video game.
And I'm not sure how you feel about it or how you've acted about it,
but pretty big deal.
Can't wait to play as you.
Can't wait for the old jaw, the AJ finisher.
I can't wait, too.
I appreciate you putting me in a position to have that opportunity to be on
there.
And I don't know if you,
when you say welcoming,
first off,
we have,
they have not announced the whole Pat McAfee Packer.
They have not sent that out.
Correct.
Once that happens,
then we'll see if there's any welcoming.
No,
the IWC certainly not welcoming.
No,
not at all.
Your net wrestling fee is not happy.
I saw him put an entire list of NXT superstars who we definitely know their names.
If they were to walk down the street next to you guys,
obviously nobody would know who you guys were
and they would know who they were.
We definitely took their spot.
If we were not in there, that group
would be in there. That's how it all goes.
Which is not true, by the way.
This is an addition to this entire thing.
But the way you laid out your character,
I cannot wait to see the world react to.
I want a little Bill Goldberg, Bob Backlund.
I want a little Ultimate Warrior.
Just a smidge of Eugene.
I want a little bit of that.
Give me Ricochet.
Give me the Moxie.
Give me the Bob Backlund Moxie.
That's what I told you.
Yeah, all right.
Anyways, there is a chance that his finisher is him going to the top rope
and jumping with his jaw just like this and hitting people in the temple.
And then one, two, three.
If they survive in life, they're not going to be able to survive a pinfall.
Let's talk about some stuff happening around the NFL,
more specifically your Green Bay Packers.
Mark Murphy was speaking down at the league meetings,
and he talked about a couple different things.
One conversation was, wait a minute,
are the Packers going to have to leave Green Bay
because of a lease issue that's taking place?
We all, with knowledge of the real estate situation in Green Bay
and how much money the Packers make off the real estate around the state,
I think it's like $250 million a year off of everything that they own around it.
The Packers will never leave Green Bay.
Yeah, they're going to be there.
That's going to get figured out.
But to talk about having a game in Brazil, I didn't even think about for Mark Murphy.
He laid out a couple of the issues potentially for the Packers that other teams don't have.
But if that's the case, that's the case, he said.
Here's president of the Green Bay Packers talking down at the league meetings about an international game traveling from Green Bay.
Yeah, I think we'll obviously hear soon on that with the league.
We're very supportive of international play.
The one issue with Green Bay, though, is the size of our airport and the size of our runway.
And we want to make sure that we're not at a competitive disadvantage in terms of how long it's going to take us to get to Brazil.
There's some thought that we might have to bus to Milwaukee and then fly, you know, just some of those things.
to Milwaukee and then fly, you know, just some of those things.
But, you know, and I anticipate probably within the week we'll find out.
So it's either us or Cleveland.
If they choose us, we'll welcome it.
I think it'll be exciting.
Come on, Capoli.
First game ever in Brazil.
It'll be exciting, but I want to make sure that we're, you know, some of those things are worked out.
So is that the excuse?
Not that it's an excuse.
It's very real.
Anybody that's seen American Made, Tom Cruise trying to take off in Venezuela?
I forget which country.
I think Venezuela.
Short runway, heavy plane, clips the trees on the way out.
We were actually told the other night, heavy plane, short runway, going to be an aggressive takeoff. We're going to have this nose to the sky
pretty quickly. Runway length
for those that wouldn't
know, most humans, I've just realized it
as of late, is a massive
piece of conversation of where you can fly,
where you can't fly. You add in any weather
to the length of the runway,
it's a whole other conversation.
Has this been the excuse to the Packers out of Green Bay
is that they don't have a runway long enough
for an international flight, which is why
they've only gone to England one time.
It was when Aaron Rodgers took on the Giants
just a couple years back.
They were the last team, I believe, to go international.
And whenever the NFL laid out all the international markets
for teams, like the Colts have Germany,
I think the Patriots also have Germany.
There's some people that are in South America. There's some people, the Packers are the only team that
doesn't have any international affiliation. Is Mark Murphy in there going, you can give us,
we can't get there. You want us to drive two and a half hours to Milwaukee. Then we got to fly 10
hours to these places. We don't even have a runway long enough in Green Bay to get out of there. If
we had to, is that what it's been?
That's amazing.
I didn't know that that was the case.
And also, I kind of like the fact that Mark Murphy's like,
we're a Green Bay team.
We're not.
Okay.
Yes.
We're here.
We can't even get out of here.
Yeah.
We can't even get out of here if we wanted to.
Has that been the case all along?
I did not know that was what it was over there, AJ.
The first I heard of it is when Mark Murphy laid out like that. I mean, know that was what it was over there, AJ. The first I heard of it is when
Mark Murphy laid out like that.
Is that a huge disadvantage?
Say you had to fly to Milwaukee and get on a bigger
plane and then go. I guess that's one extra stop, huh?
Yeah, well, I guess it's two flights
instead of one. It's a great excuse, though. Great way to not
try to... Because you
don't want to give up a home game. No one wants to give up a home
game to go play overseas somewhere. You want
that home game money to continue to come to you so it's great hey i not why not try
everything to not have to play over there we don't even have it feels like they're doing what are you
talking about we can't even do it we can't even get there what does the other team the other team
gets to fly right there we got to fly through a place and then fly again our players have passports
brazil you want us to go all the way we can't print passports in green bay we don't have the
fedex we don't have the FedEx.
We don't have the ability to do it.
CBS doesn't do it anymore.
Mark Murphy just being like, we are keeping all of our home games.
Well, how do you plan on doing that?
I'm telling them we can't even get to any place.
It's impossible.
Let's see how it goes.
Do you guys fly out of Green Bay for away games?
You would, right?
Everything.
Yeah.
And the airport there is called Austin Straubel International Airport as well.
But it's not really international.
Whoa.
Yeah.
Well, Canada.
What's that about, Con Man?
That's a marketing ploy,
I would assume.
Benefits being international. Yeah, get to Canada or
Mexico. Yeah, that's got to be the only reason
they can call it that. So, how much
bigger does the runway have to be for a flight?
Six feet, I think.
I mean, we flew west coast out
of there, so you can fly big old planes.
I don't know if you need international or whatever.
That's bullshit. Six feet feels a bit
not like it's a... That was a lie.
That was a lie from Tone.
So here in Indianapolis...
Yeah, bingo. At the Buffalo Bills
to add for the celebration. Here in Indianapolis
there's a regional airport that is
much closer to our houses, and then
there's the international airport that is much closer to our houses, and then there's the international airport that is
so far
away. So far
away.
And there's been a couple times where it's like, hey,
because of weather, because of rain, because of
whatever, going to have to land at the international
because it has longer runways than at the regional
one, and that's
a bummer. But that was when I learned about this
entire thing mark
murphy utilizing that as an excuse not to go to international games and not having a way i respect
the hell out of it i think what he wants to say is hey i don't know if you guys know this our home
games are sold out for the next 100 years a lot of places are trying to get people in the stands
i mean look at caroline look at other situations around the league. It doesn't affect them as much to lose
a home game. Do you play in the international games?
Yeah, London. Did you win or lose?
Tied.
What? Gross.
Worst trip ever.
The international games are tough.
They were. Field wasn't that good, though.
Slick. Yeah, real slick.
JJ Watt talks about that
whenever we have the grass or
turf convo yeah he's like everybody just wants them to do what they do for soccer where they put
this grass on top of the turf why don't you do that for us jj is like some of those grass that's
bad grass yeah it always looks sloppy out there i feel like when you watch the london games you
never played international right because mark murphy said we can't get there yeah right the
entire time couldn't get there you know we had a short one way we We knew that all along. Hey, we can't go, guys.
Sounds like that's AJ's idea. AJ might
have fed that to Mark Murphy. Because he is in
Pilot Magazine. I wish.
And he did do flying for a couple
of hours. Mark, listen to this.
Obviously, my dumb brain.
There's a limit to how big the plane
is that you can get out of here. We can't get
to England on any plane. The amount of here. We can't get to England on any plane.
Can't do it.
The amount of gas that is needed to get to England,
not going to be able to get out of here.
It's not big enough.
Right, Jimmy?
Right, Jimmy?
Jimmy Graham, tell him.
Tell Rog.
Yeah, Jimmy Graham.
I can get the helicopter out of here if I had to.
And there's AJ right afterwards.
He said, I beat the game.
I did it.
I just got hundreds of millions of dollars in Green Bay for all the home games.
Thank you, AJ. That's a massive disadvantage, though. Huge. Having your home game get taken away and go send other places. I just got hundreds of millions of dollars in Green Bay for all the home games.
That's a massive disadvantage, though. Huge.
Having your home game get taken away and go sent other places.
Dallas Cowboys, they're making $77 million a day, a game day.
Now, they're by far the highest-grossing team in the NFL,
but you take that money out of there, I mean, that's a big deal.
That's why there's been a lot of pushback business-wise from the international
games, but once you zoom out, big picture,
getting football into South America,
more money for everybody
down the road. Anyways, joining us now is a guy
who has all the information about the draft
because he had to do research on every human
that was at the combine. Had to have something
to say about somebody
from Mercer, maybe?
Maybe there's somebody from uh katana state
or tarahumara university he had to watch film he knows it all we appreciate him ladies and
gentlemen move the steak stand jeremiah whoa let's go full screen on sticks real quick
oh we're hotel room that's an embassy suites though you gotta that's a nice room
that's a residence in that's like a kissing cousin of an embassy suites but same ballpark
there yeah because i see you got a room are you staying there for a while you moving in
yeah we've got uh we've got the big 12 combine the first year they're doing that here so it's
at the star it's like literally the star it's like right next door the cowboys facility there so we're
here for a couple days.
Instead of having those individual Big 12 Pro Days,
this year they're doing something different and kind of bringing them all together.
Feels smart.
Now granted, does that mean that nobody who's a first-round pick is working out at this?
I'm curious.
You know, there's a lot of these guys that did everything at the Combine.
So whether or not that has anything to do with this new format or not,
I would imagine those guys that did everything there,
we're probably not going to see them do a whole lot here.
And Texas already in the SEC, so they don't count.
Yeah, Texas and Oklahoma, not here.
They're balanced.
That's because they're scared of West Virginia.
Zach Frazier going to be there at this thing?
You know what?
I'm sure he'll be here.
I don't know that he'll work out what he's going to do from that standpoint.
We are, and this is sad to say, we are covering offensive skill and DBs.
So the offensive linemen are this weekend, and our cameras will already be gone.
Okay, no kickers, no punters, no snappers, no linemen.
I don't want to have to tell you what Harbaugh just said about football
and who runs it, the offensive line.
I know.
And you guys just spit in the face of that.
Okay.
I use that clip.
I use that clip, Pat, because I've had a couple mock drafts
where I had the Chargers taking a tackle at five.
I had one of them trading out, and everybody's up in arms.
Like, they need a receiver.
They lost Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.
They're taking a receiver.
And I'm like, they might take a receiver.
I'm not saying they aren't going to take a receiver,
but if you follow Jim Harbaugh's path throughout his entire life,
I wouldn't bet against them taking an offensive lineman
or trading back and taking an offensive lineman.
Alt would be sitting there, you would think.
And they're saying he's just game-changing, trailblazing,
everything like that.
Can't wait to see what he does.
Let's stick with the wide receivers because that's all you care about,
Daniel Jeremiah, very apparently.
Hold on, before we finish this up. This Big combine sec would never do this right because the sec pro days are
like a festival of sorts at each and every one of them yeah a lot of these schools use it as a big
recruiting tool you know so they're going to take all these images of all these head coaches and gms
on their campus they're going to blast that out to all the recruits and then sec just in terms of
the volume of players at each of those schools like lsu today i mean there's uh that's that's a full day's work
okay so let's go to lsu right now neighbors just jumped 42 i think you ran a 435 yeah uh now
there's conversation schefter just posted that there are some nfl personnel men who believe i
like that he had personnel men so the, the personnel women did not say this.
If you know any NFL, they are not the ones.
It was men that said this.
He's kind of giving away his sources.
It's kind of like a guess who.
Is there a mustache?
You know, this entire thing.
There are some NFL personnel men who believe Malik Neighbors is this draft class's top wideout
as he quote tweets the 435.
He also put up a 40 40 plus inch vertical in this entire
thing Roma Dunzey and some other chatter is maybe the top guy Marvin Harrison Jr. was the top guy
for like the last three years is what we all understood is this smoke is this real what are
your thoughts on this and can a pro day like this four neighbors make that type of decision or alter
that type of course on draft night well first of, Pat, those three wideouts are in my top four.
So, I mean, I literally have Caleb Williams in these three wideouts.
So they're all big-time, big-time players with big grades.
I posted something last week, maybe a little over a week ago or a week ago,
about this same topic, about how there are teams,
I will not be surprised if you'll hear about teams that have neighbors as the top guy,
just because when you watch these guys, you know, a row he's got a different gear what he does after the catch
it's unique uh when you're comparing them with these other guys now i have him as the third guy
but i've talked to teams picking to the bottom of the first round which you're going to be honest
with you because look they're not they're not in the market they're not going to have any chance
of getting these guys and i talked to one team specifically that had neighbors as the top guy.
So I don't think – I think Schefter's – he's talking to folks,
and that's legit information.
I've stuck with Marvin start to finish.
I went back and watched him in some 22 stuff a week or two ago.
Him and Caleb have both been my one and two guys.
And I thought, you know what, let me go back and just circle
back to 22 and go refresh
myself on 22 because we've watched so much
23. And I was like, oh yeah, that's why everybody
loves these dudes. These guys are freaks.
Marvin Harrison has been a freak since
the day he stepped on the campus. And then
the stories they tell about his work ethic
seemingly leads to the type of guy
you're getting, the type of player you've
seen on film, and you're going to have your dad, his dad,
potentially talking to your wide receiver room.
There's just so many things that seem to be upside here,
but we are in draft season.
We are in the overanalyzed season,
and Marvin chose not to run, jump, or do anything else
that Malik Nabors just impressed the entire world with his numbers.
So that's an added benefit.
But I'll be excited to see who pulls the trigger on who on actual draft night
when push comes to shove.
Go ahead, AJ.
DJ, when does the first non-QB come off the board?
Who do you think snatches him up?
Has anything crazy happened for someone to get in there?
I think that I put it out in my last mock draft.
And again, people, it's just hilarious how they can't get to this point or see this potential.
But I had all four quarterbacks go 1, 2, 3, 4.
So the first non-quarterback is there at 5.
And I know there's going to be a lot of debate about McCarthy.
I heard a little bit of Lombardi on with you guys earlier.
He brought up a lot of good points.
You know, hey, it would benefit some of these teams to get that name up there. But I'm talking to people that are in the quarterback market and teams that are not
in the quarterback market. And J.J. McCarthy is really highly thought of. So I don't think that's
a smoke screen situation. I think that's legitimate. And you have too many teams. There's
too much demand. All those teams, that 11, 12, 13, Minnesota, Denver, the Raiders,
all those teams are in the quarterback business.
So there's potential for those guys to jump up,
which would leave you five, the Chargers.
And, I mean, like Harbaugh said at the end of the day,
technically they got the first pick in the draft.
If you've got Justin Herbert, he's not going to be –
none of these quarterbacks are going to be stacked for the Chargers
on top of their board.
They've literally got their pick, or they could trade down.
Well, they could view it as they have the first two picks.
Justin Herbert, we drafted above all these guys.
If we could, we would draft above all these guys.
And then we get any position player we'd like to either help or move forward with.
Good weapons, too.
But you have there, I believe, four trading.
Conman's got a question for you.
Yeah, DJ, you said, I think it was last week or maybe the week before, that you thought
the Commanders were more likely to be the team
that would trade out than the Patriots because
that was the debate. You know, the Vikings get all those
picks. Are they going to trade with the Commies or
are they going to trade with the Patriots? Hopefully the latter.
Just kidding. Would you say
that there's a chance that there aren't
any trades and that maybe there is a way
that, you know, these teams just
get exactly who they want and then you're kind of the only one that has Drake May 2 is a way that you know these teams just get exactly who they want
and then you're kind of the only one that has drake may too on that board you know everyone
has drake may either to the patriots or to whoever they think is going to trade up with the patriots
uh why do you have that and do you think that over these next or i guess it's just a month now over
this next month that that one or that two three spot is going to be flipping and flopping with everybody's mock draft?
Yeah, that's a good point.
It's a good question.
To me, Caleb at one, I think we can all kind of put that one there unless something crazy happens that that one is done.
I think then there is uncertainty with Washington and New England.
The reason why I said I didn't think New England would trade, that was based off some information I had from talking to people that said,
look, this is before free agency.
So the Patriots' plan is they're going to sign a quarterback for $8 million
to $10 million, and they're going to stick and pick
and take a quarterback at $3 million.
And they went out and got Brissette for $8 million.
So I'm like, well, the first part of this story checks out.
So let's see if they stick with it and stay there and pick at $3 million.
And then Washington i to me
just looking at the the amount of work that needs to be done there i think there's a roster that's
pretty incomplete adam peter did his best and free agency to kind of spread the resources to try and
plug some holes but that's why i thought of the two based off the new england information they
would be most likely but i, all the information changes constantly,
and that's why it's kind of a crazy draft.
But the latest stuff is a lot of people expect, okay, one, two, and three
are just going to stick and pick, and then that puts the Cardinals
in position to trade that fourth pick for whoever wants to come up
for the fourth quarterback.
And then answer the Drake May thing real quick, Connor.
The same thing I said about Caleb and the same thing I said about Marvin Harrison Jr.
Go back and watch 22.
When they had a better supporting cast around Drake May, it was like 37 touchdowns.
I think he had seven or eight rushing touchdowns, like upper 60s in completion percentage.
He played great.
Then the team kind of deteriorated around him and his play fell off.
But I am old
enough to remember the same exact thing happened to josh allen at wyoming the same exact thing
happened to jordan love when he was at utah state so to me you got to look at these evaluations not
just in a one-year vacuum hey drake may too big huge yes and darius butler says family awesome
shit talking has the moxie doesn't care about social at all wouldn't
even listen to offers to leave north carolina it's like there's so many things off the field
that say like this is a franchise this is a franchise guy on the field we'd be able to
we hope so how was he as a golfer pat how did he say he was as a golfer i think he said he was okay
yeah solid i think he was okay his family was just talking shit on him the whole time which
is what darius liked darius liked that his family was talking shit on him and think he was okay. His family was just talking shit on him the whole time, which is what Darius liked. Darius liked that his family was
talking shit on him and that he was firing
shots back. That's
good for locker room is what we were
saying. Let me tell you guys, I'll take
you inside the draft room. This is how this works. If
I have a big grade on Drake May
and you just told me he was a great, unbelievable
golfer, I'd be like, this guy's
so athletic. He's good at everything.
I love this guy. He'd literally give him anything. He'll pick it up and go. If you told me Drake May was the worst golfer you've ever seen, I'd be like, this guy's so athletic, he's good at everything. I love this guy. He'd literally give him anything,
he'll pick it up and go. If you told me Drake May
was the worst golfer you've ever seen, I'd be like, this guy
is so dedicated to his craft.
He just watches me. I'd be out there playing golf.
Every scout
trying to get their prospect drafted,
obviously, and hoping that it
hits. Let's move away from offense. Let's go to defense.
I saw a video this morning out of
Mercer where Davion McCarthy had a 44-inch vertical.
Corner, obviously, in the tweet, it said, like, lesser known, obviously,
because he went to a smaller school.
About to become much more well-known after almost beating the game here.
Hits the top rung.
Boom. Could what maybe one higher
they'll probably reset that to see how it goes how can something like this change everything
because obviously if he can jump that high we assume he can run we assume he can run very well
because he's explosive is that a real game changer for a guy like i don't know if you've seen that
because you've been traveling to the big 12 combine but the mercer like that's a big deal
right that echoes across all the nfl scouts now all of a sudden yeah i paid 19 bucks for the
in-flight wi-fi and so i saw that i saw that clip i have my computer open i put his name and i do
everything in excel so for my sequence list of all the players i watch i put his name in into
the computer and that immediately goes on my to-do list to watch the guy so anytime guys do something this time of year you're going to get noticed you're going to get watched
um so that's what's so cool about it we used to have to rely on you know seeing the workout numbers
come in literally via fax and just be trying to find any crazy numbers like oh gosh we better have
somebody watch this guy we haven't done him yet now i can see within minutes of him jumping it
shows up on a Twitter feed, and
I'm alerted to the guy and I can watch him.
That's good news. You're going to be on Move the
Sticks' mock draft. Will you be on
any NFL teams? Maybe after a
six-foot box jump here. Now it was a
running start. 72-inch
box jump.
Running start.
That's still legit.
Yeah, I'd say. That's two rap reports. That's still legit. Yeah. That's still legit. Yeah, I'd say.
Yeah.
That's two Rappaports.
Yeah.
Think about that.
That guy could jump over two Ian Rappaports.
Yeah.
Maybe two and a quarter.
Maybe two and a quarter.
Well, it depends on if he's sitting on his shoulders or standing on his own shoulders.
If he's sitting on his own shoulders, we're talking four rap sheets stacked up.
This guy's clearing it.
That's freezing.
Is he wearing his horse racing hat, though?
Are we factoring that in at all or no?
Yeah, you're right.
I don't know how tall his 10-gallon hat is.
He's Abe Lincoln looking at these things.
But this is phenomenal.
I'm excited to see what this does for him.
He's flying through the air.
Good for you, dude.
Having a great pro day.
Now, let's stay in the defensive back room, shall we?
Go ahead, Ty.
Yeah, DJ.
This is a little bit self-serving, but Cooper to Gene.
Going in, you know, everyone's talking about, hey, this guy's going to be the first white
cornerback taken in the first round.
Let's go.
Maybe ever.
Let's go, Pack.
Yeah, we like that, Pack.
Don't we, Pack?
We like that.
Go ahead, Pack.
I don't think he'd be a first round.
What?
He's a good player, but I don't know if he'll be a first round.
Because he's white?
No, I'm not.
Yeah, this is Colin Jones' fault.
We just watched a video.
That guy walked you last.
You got something against him.
I told y'all he was fast.
Yeah, he was.
You should see this.
This particular quiet.
So I guess, is Koop going to be a first-round draft pick?
I assume he was.
Because going into, you know, like before the season started,
everyone's saying, hey, he might be a top 15 guy and then his play he was a unanimous first
team all-american this year obviously unbelievable it breaks his leg but iowa already had their pro
day i think he's doing stuff for scouts in like mid-april obviously how he tests is going to be
a big part of it but is there anything he can do to kind of increase his draft stock i
know you have him in one of your mock drafts a lot to go to the packers which i would just be
over the moon about but um is it for a guy like him is it mostly medical are they just making
sure that that leg's good to go or like could he actually really improve his draft stock if he goes
out and just tests out of this world you know I don't think the testing really matters for him.
If you wonder about his athleticism, just watch his basketball highlights,
and you can pull up all the GPS numbers that all the teams have of all his top speed stuff.
I mean, it's really good.
And then the other thing with him, I think this new rule,
which, Pat, you'd be a lot more qualified to talk about than I am,
but Cooper DeGene being able to return a little bit,
whereas like returners, we used to give you a little bit of a bump.
Over the last few years, you didn't get that bump anymore.
But this is somebody you can plug in early on,
and he can kind of give you some of that as well.
So there's value there.
Some teams think he's going to be a big nickel.
Some teams think he'll be a safety.
Other teams are keeping him at corner.
But you've got somebody who's smart, tough, versatile, fast. He's got to be a good linebacker.
People are looking at him. Exactly. It feels like this guy may be a linebacker outside you need to put a little weight on this guy he
is a great open field tackler yeah so i mean i to me there's a lot more teams there's a lot more
teams playing with that big nickel right now because you're getting forced into the run there
and the run fits and so i think that's if i was to say the majority of teams have him that's where
the majority of teams have him in terms's where the majority of teams have him.
In terms of the workout, though, there's a little bit of pause in his plant
and drive that bothered me a little bit on the outside,
but that's a workout thing.
Maybe you could see something there when he works out.
But, you know, in terms of a 40 or jumping, I mean, you can see that on tape.
I didn't know he had a plant and drive problem.
No, it's just a workout thing, DJ said.
Not an issue.
Didn't show up on game day.
Well, Pat can talk about that, though.
I mean, because –
Plant drive is a big deal.
It's a big deal.
No question.
When you're saying –
There's a little bit of a pause.
When you're watching these guys one after another and you're watching the elite guys
and all of a sudden you see, okay, there's this little tick.
There's a little tick in his plant drive there.
I'm just saying it's a lot of good DBs.
You got the kid from Alabama.
You got my boy in Tennessee.
I mean, Clemson, I should say.
I like
the kid. I'm not saying that he's not a
good football player. I'm just saying
he got a little
slow.
It's because
white looks slower.
He's an inside guy, though. He's not an
outside guy.
He's not going to guard eggs. He never know. What are you talking about? He's out inside guy, though. He's not an outside guy. What? He's not going to guard eggs.
He never know.
What are you talking about?
Yeah, he's out there guarding eggs.
That's what they're saying.
That's why the whites are celebrating.
Exactly.
But I'm saying in the league, he's going to be a nickel.
Well, Kenny just got paid.
So, Kenny here at the Colts just got $30-some million to be a nickel.
That's a hard job to play.
Well, nickel is now based.
Yeah, it's a starter.
It's a starter now. Yeah, nickel's now Yeah, it's a starter. It's a starter now.
Yeah, nickel's a base now
seemingly with the game.
Now, is that going to change
with teams going back to
we need some size
and we're going to start
running people over?
Maybe.
But nickels are getting
paid right now
in a very big way.
And if he does play nickel,
I think there'll be
a lot of people that'll say
you guys were celebrating
a little bit early.
Okay, this guy's
this guy's a fast linebacker. Okay, that is that's what we got going on but you know the thought is you watch him he
can stick him outside put him on the island that's right put him on the island ton diggs got a
question for you yeah dj uh guy who you have ranked seventh overall things have been a little
bit quiet i feel like for brock bowers um is is he gonna be a is he a traditional tight end is he gonna be an inline or is he gonna
be similar to like where it was like kincaid yesterday where he's the everyone knows he's
gonna be a pass catching tight end through and through what do you think about brock bowers and
his potential landing spots currently well yeah i mean the size wise it's similar to kittle it's not
that dissimilar and
obviously you know george has done as the inline why so i think he can i think look he's not and
he's not the the blocker that george is but he's strong physical willing he's he's very functional
as a blocker but he's gonna you know you're gonna want to flex him out you're gonna want to get him
out there and let him work in space because the run after catch stuff is legit you know i i was first watching him i called a buddy on the staff there at georgia i was trying to get
some background on him and he was like he's like dj if we just let this guy play tailback he
probably would be our best running back like he's he's that good with the ball in his hands and
unfortunately with the ankle we haven't got a chance to see him test and do all those things
but you know everybody down there says this guy's this runs 4-4 in his sleep. He's got
legit speed.
He dresses just like...
He's got no...
None. Just here for football.
He's like a bedhead, right?
Big bedhead guy.
What's that?
Bedhead. He never combs his hair.
No.
I didn't know
that's what you're talking about a lot of chatter you know around the world yeah um i think he's
just football guy from wine country they said in one of the videos he sent out of high school was
him just sprinting up a hill it was like yeah this is my workouts this one he just sprints up a hill
loves ball has obviously won multiple national championships.
Georgia, they love him.
Yes.
And they're going to miss him.
One of their princes.
He was their guy.
Like Stetson, kind of.
I'm hoping he comes to the Colts.
Why don't you come to the Colts?
That won't happen.
I mean, Daniil Hunter, he got offered more money to go to the Colts
than the Texans, and he was like, I'm not going to play there.
But I want to live there.
I would tell him,
hey, Indiana's great, but no one
could get through to him.
You think it's going to be a pretty active draft night?
We're going to be doing our draft spectacular live
from Detroit. We got to wail.
We got to wail.
Our show, I know you guys got your thing going
on on NFL Network.
We follow along. We watch.
We watch it as we're doing our thing on the internet
or whatever.
The person
that's going to be joining us
on this thing is a big one.
It is a... Really?
Oh, buddy. Yeah.
It is...
It's going to be...
I think the announcement
is going to be big. I think you're going to be like...
I would assume.
Does his first name and last name start with the same letter?
We don't know.
I'm not giving away anything.
Don't you even think I'll be giving
away anything.
I just have
a wedding ring. He's got like seven more.
I don't know if that's
true. I don't know if that's true i don't know
if that's true let's not be championship rings not wedding rings i would clarify let's not put
any names into the stratosphere because if it's not you know let's not be letting people down
okay let's make sure we're bouncing is it gonna be an active draft night from what you're hearing
are we talking about now yeah yeah i think so I think so, man. I do. I think what drives,
and you guys will see it
the more you guys continue
to do your draft thing
and draft coverage,
is that quarterbacks drive it.
They drive interest.
They drive trades.
And that's what I think we have.
So I think we do.
I think we have an active day.
I think we'll see a lot of trades,
a lot of movement.
I think that'll be fun.
By the way,
you're talking about
the draft spectacular that you
guys do. I got a zillion text messages
during the draft last
year that said, Pat and the guys
gave you a lot of love for the Houston thing
last year. So I don't know if I ever got a chance
to say thank you for that, but I was very kind
to you guys. We feel like we do try to tip
cap to people that say things before it happens.
We do not...
I think that's a big part of
things um that make people look dumb like if somebody else has something to not acknowledge
that is dumb stupid i i you know what i mean like i feel like that is a dumb thing like
because who knows how it's gonna end up like us saying that you're the one that said this was a
big story big conversation then when it happens it's like hey sticks yeah that's awesome you're getting
crucified for it too right you're getting murdered i know i i was getting crucified but the funny
thing is how do you take it when your friends say take the time to tell you something really nice
that somebody else has said about you while also admitting they're not watching you on tv like
that's that's like a fine line to walk right we're on phone that was. Is that what it is? Second screen? Second screen? Yes.
Well, you're the second screen, actually, nowadays.
I don't know if you know that.
Phone's first screen.
But that's the whole advertising conversation in the entirety of it all.
We're lucky that you joined us,
and we can't wait to follow along for the rest of draft season power.
Getting close.
Getting close.
Yes.
Yeah, looking forward to it, man.
Big 12 Pro Day.
Tune in.
Why not?
Join us tomorrow.
Absolutely. Yeah. We'll be there. The UNC 12 Pro Day. Tune in. Why not? Join us tomorrow. Absolutely.
Yeah.
UNC's is tomorrow. How many West Virginia guys there?
Handful.
Handful.
Maybe.
Oh, okay.
Handful.
There we go.
Two.
Handful of.
Handful of at least five.
Decent.
Decent.
Handful of poop.
Wider skiers.
DBs.
DBs.
But we ain't got no DBs right now.
Or wide outs.
I don't know wide out either.
There's one guy, I will say,
I was looking through the notes on a bunch of these guys
because some of them I haven't had a chance to watch yet.
And there's one guy who has
been six years in college
and he has one catch.
I was inspired by that.
That dude is not, he is not
done.
He's chasing the dream.
Where's this? Where at?
Where at?
I don't want to say who he is.
I don't want to say who he is.
What year did he make that catch?
Literally, one catch.
But, I mean, it says, like, it's in the bio.
From WVU?
Scout team, scout team, scout team, scout team.
Never give up.
Never gave up, man.
What if he rips a 4-3?
What if he rips a 4-3 at this thing tomorrow?
Gets a shot.
Got to be covering kicks.
The whole, so. He did that
year five. He got one
catch and it's like golf where you hit one good shot
and you're like, gotta come back.
Yeah.
Like last game,
he had one in practice
and then he had one in the game.
I think I'm figuring this out.
He's working out this Big 12 combine?
Yeah.
But again, I've seen
look, we've got Antonio Gates who never played
down a college football.
This guy was in football.
This guy only had one more catch
than Antonio Gates in his
college football career. It'd be like Gates
if he went to the NBA combine.
Then it would be like Antonio Gates.
Four yards, so he's tough. He gets the tough one.
I don't know how much of that's after catch.
I haven't looked that up yet.
Well, they hit from tackle too.
That's not legal.
It was a bubble screen, and he fought like hell to get those four yards.
That thing could have been a touchdown.
Those are the little things you have to watch and take to learn.
Yeah, you're a pig, DJ.
This guy's trying to live his dream, and you're out there mocking him from your residence in suites.
Yeah, must be nice, DJ.
Oh, must be nice, DJ.
Hey, real quick.
We talked about this this morning via text.
We FaceTimed with Styx whenever he was on a plane.
Yeah.
Okay, up in the sky.
Right.
Crazy.
He's like, I can't believe technology lets this happen.
It's absurd every time it takes place.
But also, you're on a thing the size of a building
floating through the sky faster than any car can go at 30,000.
Isn't that absurd?
Every time.
It's hard not to think about it.
No, you kind of messed me up for a few minutes on that.
Yeah, because look at that.
Think about how heavy.
You see that double seatbelt person to your right?
That's what, 400 pounds or so?
They're on the same plane as you somehow
at 30,000 feet
with 150 others.
And we're just cruising
at 400 miles an hour.
None of it makes sense to me.
And they tell you,
there's an upforce that comes because the way it
cuts through. I'm like, okay.
Sounds like it. Just give me the
Appalachian State. I went to Appalachian
State, and there's no way that I can wrap
my mind around that, so that's
I got no shot. Well, we're happy that
plane got you there. Let's make sure the plane's
bolts are all tight, though. We don't need to be.
I haven't looked into it much, but I think a lot of those
things have just been falling apart mid-flight. Let's
not do that with sticks on there because
we're in draft season. We need them.
Ladies and gentlemen, live from the Big
12 Combine,
Dan Jeremiah.
One catch
six years.
Is this a soup kitchen?
I was going to say, just letting any Tom, Dick, or Harry
participate in this thing.
I think he played center his entire career,
and then he switched to fullback and caught one out in the flat in his last game.
Really?
Yeah.
Wow.
Is that real?
Because it sounds like he was saying it's a wide receiver.
It could be.
This guy blocking Don Field, though.
Like Iuke.
Bingo.
That's who his comp is blocking-wise, Iuke.
San Francisco 49ers have their eyes on
this guy who's been in school for six years and has one reception i mean that was like the kid
last year from wvu he just ran a 425 and we're like wait wvus guys who can run a 425 that was
surprising uh it was very surprising he didn't i don't think so no bryce ford didn't? I don't think so. No, he didn't. Bryce Ford Wheaton.
Yeah, I don't think he did.
He's still on a team, though.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Giants?
Giants.
Giants Dayball talking about calling plays.
He's the head coach.
He did the research.
He's talking now at the breakfast meetings.
Now, you know, everybody's got questions about the Giants and how it's handled.
And we've seen the Dayball, you know, roller coaster.
Things are great.
Things are bad.
Things are great.
Things are bad.
I'm not calling plays, but this is everybody else's fault.
Him, Tyrod Taylor's situation at the end of the first half,
that was kind of the beginning of it.
Now the Daniel Jones situation.
Saquon Barkley's out of the building.
The Giants are seemingly quickly becoming a place where their fans are acknowledging
we're in a bad spot.
Yeah, something's up.
Daybo is the head coach of that team.
He spoke down at the nfl annual meetings
we do not have the video where he said he did the research 20 coaches call plays that are head
coaches now i haven't done the research i haven't decided what i want to do it's a lot of work to be
in the play call in the play sheet while also being the head coach for me this is just like
doug peterson now doug peterson we got nothing but respect and love for but it's like these guys get
jobs because of how good they are that call call and plays, and how good their offenses are.
And then they realize, like, oh, there's a lot for me to deal with
and not able to call plays anymore.
That's a fascinating thing.
Like, if I'm an owner, it'd be hard for me not to be like,
hey, you know why you got this job?
It's because your offenses are good.
You know why your offenses were good?
Because you were calling the plays.
So figure out how to call plays.
But then there's also, like, having to deal with defense what's going on injuries what's going on game management what's
going on everything strategy decisions it's like a lot how do you feel about the whole thought
process aj and what like they all hired sean mcveigh's all these owners and sean mcveigh calls
plays but then some guys decide that they're not going to call plays.
It's like, well, why did you get the job?
You know, I'm kind of –
Yeah, if you were the owner, you would think like, hey, I hired you.
Say you were an offensive play caller and you had not been a head coach before.
I hired you to be my head coach because you're such a good play caller somewhere else.
I know you're a great play caller.
I don't know if you're a great head coach yet.
You have to prove that you're a great head coach.
Here's Dayball live from the annual league meetings
talking about it.
Do you plan on calling plays?
Is that something you want to do?
Do you want to take that over?
Like I told Tom, we're still
going through a lot of things with our process.
Long way to go into the
season.
We'll talk about that.
When you came in here, obviously you were a play call
yeah and decided not to do that sure cool do you prefer to be a head coach that doesn't call plays
and you would you would do it if you think you need to what you I mean obviously the first two
years yeah yeah something that I'm looking into and talk to I think there's 20 head coaches at this point in time that call plays
in the league.
On both.
So, I think it's 20.
There might be a little bit more, but
again, I've been doing a bunch of research,
but no decision's been made.
I'm still going through that process
and thinking
about what we need to do.
What you hear there, Pac-Man?
I'm still doing the research.
Might be 20, might be a little more, might be a little bit less.
I'm looking through it all.
Just mean he hasn't decided, right? That's what I just heard out of him?
Yeah, I don't think he want what come with calling the plays.
He want to be the head coach
and not the guy that's going to be getting the point.
Well, if you have somebody else calling plays,
you can pass the buck at some point.
We fired the play caller.
And then I start calling plays. That's what I buck at some point. We fired the play caller. And then I started calling plays.
That's what I got out of it.
Really good play callers want to call their plays.
The Andy Rees want to call their plays.
Like, you get there because you were so good at calling plays.
I don't think – I don't see why you would change what got you there.
And, A.J., to your point of we're trying to figure out if you're a good head –
we found out you're a good play caller. That's why you got you there. And AJ, to your point of, we're trying to figure out if you're a good head. We found out you're a good play caller. That's why
you got this job. We're going to find
out if you're a good head coach and on your leadership
styles. But like what you need to
what you're good at,
we need to potentially keep here.
Shane Steichen, if he was to give up play
calling duties, I'd be like,
why are you the head coach? He's got
a sweet hat. I get it. He's really cool.
The reason why we have him is because look what happened to Philadelphia when he left.
And then look what happened to us whenever he started calling our plays.
It's like that's why you're here.
But I'm sure there's things that he's missing during the game whenever he's just calling the plays.
Sure, maybe.
But, I mean, that's why you can hire another person to take care of stuff like that, too.
But, like, wouldn't you want your fate in your hands, too?
Like, Dayball's. But also wouldn't mind having somebody to blame.
Sure, yeah.
I mean, that's true as well.
I believe McDaniel, Mike McDaniel, last week came out
and said that he thought about giving up play, calling two,
but he's not going to, and that one blew my mind even more than this.
It's a weird thing right now, because especially in McDaniel
and Dolphins offense, they were incredible.
So why are you thinking about giving up play?
Well, that's like Doug Peterson with Jacksonville.
They make the playoffs.
They do the entire thing.
It's like, okay, they're finally finding it.
And then I'm going to take my hands off here so I can do something else.
Now, they had their success and then it fell off whenever Trevor got hurt.
So I assume there's another year of thinking about it.
But for me, it's why you're here is the call play.
It's why you got the job.
It's a lot, though.
Think about it.
It's a lot. Not everybody can do it. Not everybody can call the call plays why you got the job there's a lot though think about it's a
lot not everybody can do it not everybody can call the offensive plays and still be the head coach
and kind of keep their head around everything because there might be a time when you want to
talk to the defense you want to go talk to the dc or get on the phone and talk to some coaches up in
the box but you can't if you're calling the offensive plays at times so i don't know i mean
some guys can do it some guys can't but it's it's probably the most important position on a coaching staff though well it's also definitely most important because you live or
die matt canada shout out but like the week ahead of time prepping yeah the amount of time so much
more work for those guys so much more work if you are the play caller and you're putting the plan
together and you're calling the plays every day and walk through practice games everything this one we want to work on on wednesday thursday
friday you got to put that whole thing together and then how are we attacking this team well you
got to watch all the film to find that out when you're calling what well you got to be well versed
with what they're doing in all those times you're also getting a bunch of stuff across your desk at
every other position and in the building so i I assume it is very time-consuming and energy-draining to do
it, but it's like that's why you're
here.
Obviously, he's not just discounting the defense,
but wouldn't it have made more sense
last year when you have Wink Martindale,
a guy who's got head
coaching offers before?
You know now they
have a first-year DC, so
he probably does have to be a little bit more involved
because you have a guy who hasn't done it before.
You had Wink who can probably kind of handle everything from that aspect on his own
and doesn't really need the input.
I mean, we'll gladly take it from the head coach, but he's been there.
He's done it now.
It's like you have a guy who's never done it before,
so he does have to probably wear both hats more.
All right, let's talk about some other sports that are happening.
The NIT is rolling on.
Indiana State.
Rob Wave gets a massive win over Cincinnati last night.
Cincinnati had him.
Cincinnati was playing great basketball,
but the Sycamores just wouldn't be denied.
Now the Indiana State trees are into the semifinal of the NIT
with the national nit
championship happening here in about a week or so in downtown indianapolis the indiana state
faithful filled up that gym they've been very loud it has been a home court advantage for a team
that got screwed out of march madness and i believe all eyes are on cutting nets for Rob Avila and all of the team over there in Terre Haute, Indiana, A.J. Hawk.
Yeah, so with the NIT, have you been an avid watcher of the NIT?
Like when you think of years past, you watched both the NCAA tournament
and this one?
No, never.
This year, though, I saw him on last night.
First thing I hit.
Oh, yeah.
Because Hulu gave me the option.
There's a hockey game, I think.
There was an NBA game happening. I believeulu gave me the option. There's a hockey game, I think. There was an NBA game
happening. I believe there was some other stuff.
And then also, Indiana State is
playing against Cincinnati in the NIT. I'm like,
let's go see what Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
is talking about. And then we get over there
and it was literally a zoom in on him as
he was backing down the court. He looks
so awesome.
Here, there, over here.
I'm pulling for him.
They legitimately got screwed by the NCAA March Madness Committee,
and it's like now we've got a team to pull for in a tournament
that we haven't normally paid attention to in the past,
and I think the finals are here in Indianapolis.
Yeah, so it's just nice to see, too, because a lot of times
when teams do get screwed over in the NCAA tournament
and they either don't go to the NIT or they go and it's just like well you know we got nothing to play for like we kind
of said when they got in it's like hey they got to go win this thing now and leave no doubt that
they did get screwed over and that's exactly what they're doing they're on a run we got a meeting
set with them a couple days after the finals the NIT that's it just a meeting no other promises
were made no nothing was decided. Just a meeting
with the Sycamore basketball team, in which there's
15 of them. Here's what Rob Avila,
we will hold them to that number.
Also, Yager's bobbleheads
came back home.
Pittsburgh Penguins were
supposed to have Yarmour-Yager bobblehead night
and then all the bobbleheads were stolen
out of the back of a truck.
Classic move. They have found them. Shout out to Yager. Shout out of the back of a truck. Classic move.
They have found them.
Shout out to the Augers.
Shout out to the Penguins.
And Pittsburgh can sleep easy now,
knowing that their mulleted hero is back in bobblehead form.
Sports are awesome.
We're lucky to cover them every single day.
We are ending on ESPN.
We'll continue on YouTube and ESPN+. Ice Cube will be joining us in about 10 minutes.
Founder of the Big 3 and obviously NWA.
Cannot wait to chat with him. We'll be back tomorrow with a better show. Founder of the Big 3 and obviously NWA. Cannot wait to chat with him.
We'll be back tomorrow with a better show. We promise.
Be a friend. Tell a friend something nice. It might
change their life. Goodbye!
Right on.
Rushed it.
Nuke.
Opening day is tomorrow, so it makes sense
that you're those fucking
hitting on the screws. What sport?
Let's play ball. It's game day.
Strikeouts, base hits, doubles.
I saw Shohei in Korea.
That was the Seoul series.
What does that mean?
Seoul series.
You talking about the soul
of Ipe Mutsuhara?
Well, yeah.
Oh, you're saying Seoul, Korea.
Correct.
That's where my wife's mother's from.
Exactly. Nice. Trying to spread the game
over there. Born in Seoul.
Olympics there. What year was the Olympics?
Just recent, right? 16?
Just happened. I don't know. 16
was Rio, and then I thought
was it Sochi in 20?
That was winter.
There's so many of them.
Anyways, they had the sweet drone show, right?
Oh, yeah.
Korea had the sweet.
And that's where I learned yin-yang.
It's not yin-yang.
It's yin-yang.
That's Korean.
Learned that entire thing. No Gs.
No Gs.
Yin-yang.
Have a little respect.
Of course.
But if no one refers to it as that, is it really that you're talking about like gift Jeff yeah how about the father no Jeff
there's no Jeff no Jeff and found in the Jeff was lesser east pan let's read
peanut butter there's no Jeff is Peter we can't told me screw like an asshole
if you want to be Jeff then absolutely I want the GIF yeah he's like well Jeff
was taken by the peanut butter company sorry It's like, well, that's not our fault. Sorry. GIF is cooler anyways.
GIF is cooler.
Turns out it is cooler. G goes hard.
Jay, not as much. Unless you're talking about lasagna
because then it's silent.
I watched a German guy explain
real G's move in silence like lasagna
to the German crowd.
It was a good video.
I've never been more uncomfortable in my life.
He said, Lil Wayne is a genius.
You need to go listen to him right now.
He broke down.
He was wearing a ridiculous track suit.
Broke down the whole line, actually.
The whole lyric.
Real Gs move in silence like lasagna.
Now, let me break that down.
Awesome.
It was like a TED Talk.
He explained what Gs are.
Gangsters.
People want to be gangsters.
Gangsters known for breaking laws.
Who is this guy?
Is he a professor or something?
I think so.
He seemed to be famous in Germany.
He was dressed super cool.
It was seemingly German Easterby.
Explaining why more respect needs to be given.
And at the end you heard a, oh.
With a clap
And I don't know what he moved to next
Now let's move on to what
Kendrick Lamar said
About the big three
And who he was referring to
The rap game is alive
Drinks posting stuff
It's alive
People unfollowing people
There's old albums getting referred to
Every single lyric is getting dissected
There's some iconic
Demonic posts happening
Drake in sexy red
Denny's plane is getting caught up in an FBO
Drug mule played basketball
Syracuse
Sick jumper
You should see him move drugs
I want to know what he did for Boeheim.
Legitly.
Not that.
Not that.
About the Diddy stuff.
Boeheim was a joke.
Did he pop up anywhere? Have we got him?
Ladies and gentlemen, we got him.
I don't know.
He was pacing around the Miami airport.
Not anymore.
He still was.
They did a little raid and that's when they arrested Brendan Paul, the drug mule.
But they did not arrest Diddy and he was with him.
I thought he was in Antigua.
His plane was fine.
That was reported and allegedly that was bullshit.
That the private plane that dipped out was actually not Diddy's.
It's tough to track at all.
A lot of stuff going on.
The internet's saying, yep, to Pac's point there.
It's hot.
This is.
Hot in the streets.
Hot in the streets.
Are there some people worried?
On the fringes, you think that might be worried a little bit?
Hell yeah.
Fringes.
Well, they're worried about Pac.
What do you think?
Getting exposed.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Ask 50 Cent. He'll tell you all about it. I don't think it Getting exposed? Whoa, whoa, whoa. Ask 50 Cent.
He'll tell you all about it.
I don't think it's the fringes that are worried, Hawker.
I think it is the big players.
It's allegedly a weird time.
It is.
It is.
50 Cent's got the documentary coming out, Did He Do It?
Yeah.
50's on fire.
50's batting 1,000 right now.
50's released a song now.
50's batting 1,000 right now on the internet. the song now. 50s batting 1,000 right now on the internet.
It's a wild time, though.
Wild time.
Wild.
And then the Cat Williams interview, obviously, on Club Shoei Shoei and all this.
It's crazy.
It is crazy.
And we're just right here about to talk to Ice Cube about it.
Boom.
Pumped.
Like, shoot so fucking jacked for this.
We're going to talk about the big three.
Yes.
Offer to Katie Clark. What? $5 million offer. That's a big deal. Yeah. 10 games, right? 10 games? shoot so fucking jacked for this we're gonna talk about the big three yes yep offer to kate
five million dollar offer that's a big deal yeah 10 games right 10 games i think it's eight i think
eight weeks is the season i think it's eight you should take it do it that's the the more we learned
about it from the big three people they're like it's only eight weekends uh there's only one game
that is potentially conflict back-to-back conflict type thing.
It's like, I don't know how the WNBA feels about it,
but I know the big three is like, you can go play in the WNBA.
We just need you on Saturdays.
You need me on eight Saturdays throughout the entire season.
She has the power.
She can do them both.
You got some of the girls that go over and play overseas that play in the NBA.
So it's a possibility that it can happen.
At the same time, I think those other leagues are in the offseason.
And they play all year round.
This one, it is happening concurrently, I do believe.
Yeah, May 24th is when the Fevers' first game is, I believe.
How do you know that?
I'm a season ticket holder.
Good for you, man.
Congrats.
And then I believe June 24th, a month later, is when the Big 3 kicks off.
What were you going to say, Tony?
I just wanted to give him his flowers.
Okay.
Five million bucks, eight three-on-threes.
She has the leverage to do both.
She has the leverage where she could miss a WNBA game.
Like, hey, unless you're paying me five mil for this WNBA team,
I'm going to go do this.
So that's a whole other discussion.
Like, what would take preference? WNBA you would I'm going to go do this. That's a whole other discussion. What would take preference?
WNBA you would think would have to.
Is how I think
the WNBA would view it.
But she has leverage in her contract where she could
be like, no, cool, I'm not coming then.
So the big three getting in before WNBA.
So then she's a big three
athlete going into the WNBA
as opposed to a WNBA
athlete getting into the big three. That opposed to a WNBA athlete getting into the Big 3.
That's me just
piecing this together
contractually.
So you're not going to take Kaitlyn Clark then?
Because she's in the Big 3 taking $5 million?
Or are we potentially going to
try to make this work together?
I'll be excited to hear from
Ice Cube. What do you think the likelihood of her doing this?
Because this would be pretty good.
Who's going to be on her team, too?
Who's she going to play with?
She's selling out all these big three arenas immediately if she does it.
A lot of them WNBA stuff.
Adam Silver runs WNBA?
I don't know.
They heavily support it.
I know that.
Because, like, how will they get into it?
Because this is also great leverage for Kalen Clark.
Yeah.
I know what the deals normally look like for rookie players in the WNBA,
but also, see also, I have a very public $5 million offer that's already here.
Can Big 3 move the games to make it where, I guess,
they play on Sundays, Big 3 on Saturdays?
You would think Big 3 would move the games to make it for her.
Kathy Engelbert is the commissioner of the WNBA in July 2019.
Kathy Engelbert was named first ever commissioner of the WNBA
and is charged with bolstering visibility for the sport of women's basketball
and leading the business through transformation.
So the Big 3 would continue to say, well, we're bolstering the sport.
We're doing everything we possibly could.
What's that, Tom?
I was just saying, but that careers thing, that was on NBA.com.
I assume Adam Silver heavily invested
or heavily involved.
Ish B.R. Wright owns
a $100 million facility
out in Phoenix for the
Mercury.
We know.
Las Vegas Aces.
Listen, we're big fans.
Dogs.
Got to sit next to a couple of them
Kelsey Plum's been on the program
Of course
They've won championships
Asia Wilson
Big fans
Of the
Hey
Congratulations Aces
You had a great
You had a great run
Had
You had a great run
New York Liberty
You guys were awesome Got close A couple times. New York Liberty, you guys were awesome.
Got close a couple times. That was so
cool watching you guys do your thing.
You were good for the WNBA. Yeah.
Hell of a run, you guys. Hell of a run. Awesome.
Phoenix Mercury.
Wow. Beautiful new indoor facility.
$100 million. Taurasi back in the day.
Wow. Incredible. Congratulations. That's
awesome. You guys are doing great. Good era.
LA Sparks, is it? L.A. Sparks?
Sure.
Way to go.
Way to go, L.A. Sparks.
Welcome to the Indiana Fevers League.
It's time.
Okay.
We got somebody playing in two leagues.
Leading our team, selling out arenas for three-on-threes, five-on-five,
one-on-one conversations, which we will have with Ice Cube here in about eight minutes to talk about what's the reality of this.
Is this, what do you think the chances are?
Because from the big three's perspective, genius.
For sure.
I think it's a genius move by them.
What's the actual perspective?
We have some balls coming out of the LSU pro date.
Jaden Daniels is spinning it.
This is a live shot from down there in the bayou.
Hot as hell, I bet.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, my God, I bet it is so hot.
Probably kind of nice. Brian Kelly
had no idea what he was signing up for
for that particular humidity,
I'd assume. Not a chance. Because, you know, he's pretty
Irish, I do believe, and we've seen him
potentially turn shades of red
that we haven't seen a lot of humans turn into.
But down there with that humidity,
cool. Us particular
Irish Caucasians can turn tea kettle real quick.
So I like that it's hot down there.
I like that the team is seemingly rallying around, and they're getting a nice breath in the middle of their workout here.
Adidas got neighbors, huh?
He's got Adidas on.
Yeah, he does, on his shoes, on his feet.
Because LSU Nike school?
We'd assume so that would be on purpose there by neighbors.
Congrats to them.
Quarterback guru with a hat on in the front there.
Who is that?
It's not a.
Here we go.
Here we go.
Ladies and gentlemen, Jaden Daniels, Heisman winner.
Live from his pro day at LSU.
Back up, everybody.
Get back. Move back.
Play action.
Oh!
The spin on the zip.
A little bit different than what we've been watching
in other pro days, potentially.
Here's a white. That ball got a red zip on it.
It does. He does spin the hell out of it.
Yeah.
Who's that wide receiver?
I like that guy I'm going to guess he's a tight end
Just call it
That ain't Cooper DeGene
I don't know, moving like a receiver
I don't know if that's Jason Taylor's son
But I don't think he's old enough
Is that neighbors right there?
Yeah
He's gliding They got two first rounders Is that neighbors right there? Yeah.
He's gliding.
They got two first-rounders.
Brian Thomas also is supposed to go to the first-rounder.
That's why.
That was a hell of a game.
That ball was on him, though.
Someone kill this cameraman.
What's that? What?
NFL Network?
Geez, the weed.
I'm not even going to say it.
I'm not going to say it.
If you haven't pieced it together, I'm not saying it.
Oh, I have pieced.
I'm not saying it.
Now it's not the time.
I think they're indoors.
Congratulations.
Congratulations, LSU boys.
Good work out there.
Let's get to a break.
Let's get to a break.
We'll be back on the other side.
I bit a hole in my tongue.
I thought it was coming.
Let's not kill any camera people. Yeah. Let's be very appreciative of them forever. I bit a hole in my tongue. I thought it was coming. Let's not kill any camera people.
Yeah.
Let's be very appreciative of them forever.
Especially if we've done it before.
Let's get to a break.
Oh, no.
Got it.
Ice Cube will be joining us on the other side.
Okay?
Let's prepare for a big three, big conversation.
Yeah.
Hell yeah.
And then I'm excited to hear what he has to say.
Me too.
Me too. Hey, Cube, just, like, we don't know
enough about enough here, but
you have to at least know something more than us.
We know you know, Cube. What the hell's going on?
It's really good. I'm excited to hear it.
Yeah. Nine minutes on Cat Williams.
When we put the request in for Ice Cube,
we were told that he was on a family
vacation, but would love to come on
the show. So we're grateful for that
very very grateful for just being able to say
hey Cube you want to come on the program
and he says sure
I'll come on
Boards
are magical and we are
very lucky to talk about them
that's AJ Hawk the all time leading tackler for the Green Bay Packers.
That's the Talks at Table at Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt.
That's one half of the Hammer, not Cowboys turn digs.
And 14-year NFL vet, Universal Records signed rapper,
ladies and gentlemen, Pac-Man Jones is here.
And speaking of rapper, let's talk about one of the forefathers.
Yes, sir.
Of not only, you know,
the music and the culture,
but the lifestyle and the movies,
the stories,
and the amount of things
that this human's brain has accomplished
is seemingly never-ending,
but it will never be short of impressive.
Founder of the big three writer
rapper author speaker talker what stud ladies and gentlemen ice cube
cube how you doing man how's mount rushmore are we uh how's uh mount westmore are we uh
are we killing it still are we still creating magic it's all good you know um we all flying solo right now doing our own so um you know maybe
maybe we'll get back together soon but right now you know i'm on a solo creep okay well the world
can't wait for that and for whatever you release next because your brain is a fantastic one big news this morning tmz says
it's official big three has made a five million dollar offer to the sensation that is caitlyn
clark and then you responded to the reporting and said i was going to keep this private as she
remains in the hunt for a championship you did not want to be a distraction which by the way
respect even though it's a five million dollar offer didn't want to be a distraction, which by the way, respect. Even though it's a $5 million offer, didn't want to be
an interference or a distraction, but you
have made a historic offer, and why
wouldn't the Big Three? Kaitlin is a generational
athlete who can achieve tremendous
success in the Big Three. You would also
go on to tout the history of the
Big Three and other decisions that you've made in the past
with not only women, but just everything
in the basketball sphere.
My thought is this.
It's brilliant. Genius.
This is very, very, we think it's a smart move for the big three.
We're appreciative of you doing this.
What is the reality?
Do you think there's a chance for this?
Have you talked to her team?
What is like, kind of where do we stand on this particular offer as we speak right now, Cube?
You know, it's always 50-50 till we get a no.
You know, at the end of the day us it is a
generous offer um you know and look you know we're in a new age you know it's like nil um you know
when when we came up with the idea you know our sponsors our partners they all want to make it
happen so you know we was able to make that generous offer.
Okay.
Yeah, so when we start looking at it, it's only eight weeks, right?
You know, eight games.
It's doable.
You know, ten weeks if you want to win a championship,
eight weeks if you plan on, you know, not making the playoffs.
So, you know, we always sign players for the 10 weeks
thinking they'll make it to the end.
It's doable, though, isn't it?
We started looking at it, and we reached out to some of the people
from your company, very kind to us.
Everybody at Big 3 is very kind to us.
And we're like, well, how would this work?
Like, how would this even work?
Well, it's 10 weeks.
There's only one potential, you know know conflict of time and schedule but like
you guys can move those games to places to kind of make it even easier right for caitlin clark
and this whole thing and wmba players have been playing overseas it's different times but they
played in different leagues so it's all it's much more feasible i think than maybe your initial
reaction whenever you hear about it i assume that's a big part of your discussion as well with Kaitlyn, her team, and internally.
Yeah, we've thought about it.
It's definitely doable.
You know, both leagues play on CBS,
so of course they love it if we can make it happen.
So it's up to the player.
You know, as a league, we'll make it happen.
We've always wanted to work with the you know, the WNBA.
We wanted to work with the NBA.
Unfortunately, that hasn't been able to happen.
But, you know, maybe this will open the door for that.
Go ahead, AJ.
Have you thought about who you might pair her up with,
who Caitlin's team might be?
And is there any offers maybe down the line for possibly other girls
playing in
college basketball right now oh yeah i mean we're open you know if you could play in this league
you can play um we think you know um nancy would be the perfect coach for her uh nancy nancy
lieberman is a groundbreaking coach uh she's you, you know, glass ceilings at all level levels. So,
you know, we think it's a perfect, you know, mentor for her if she wants to play in the league.
You know, as the CEO of the big three and it, you know, it would be, you know, I wouldn't be
doing my job if we didn't explore this possibility.
It's really all about making it happen.
You know, Cube, though, that's not how everybody thinks.
I think that's why you've had success everywhere.
It's like, hold on, we've got a basketball league.
This girl's like the biggest star in basketball right now.
We can make $5 million, and I didn't get a chance to look into what the WNBA pays and what the salaries are.
I assume you guys have done that research as well with what the $5 million.
That's a large amount of money, I feel like, for 10 Saturdays. That feels like if we're just going off booking fees, that's $500,000 a show.
That's a very good number.
Was there chat about that, and did you look into the WNBA stuff?
Of course. We definitely did our
homework. We think with a move like this,
all boats rise with the tide. So we think this
will put the league in a different stratosphere.
Everybody across the board in the league would benefit.
So it's a move that, of course, we want to try to make happen.
The four-point shot's her shot.
Perfect.
That's like what she does, right?
Doesn't she do four-point shots?
I was going to say they got the logo on the court.
Now, something that should be thought about,
and this is much different,
the NIT tournament needs to put the four-point shot
in from the NIT logo on there.
And that's, once again, that's a big three.
Once again, big three idea, big three concept,
innovating, changing the game.
When would you need an answer, Bob?
Because I thought about this as we went into break.
If she's a big three player going into the wmba that's vastly
different than a wmba player trying to get to the big three right business-wise if i'm just trying
to piece it together yeah i mean you know we the our offer is in you know we just need to answer
as soon as they ready to give us one yes Yeah, she can pick three today. They're ready to give us one.
Yeah.
Is there a signing bonus in there?
So, like, hey, we'll give you half this up front.
Have you got to those terms?
Or where is the – here's the offer sheet.
They're taking it to Kaitlyn after the tournament.
Obviously, don't want to distract her.
But, like, you talking to her team, you feel good.
You feel good about where you're at.
Well, I mean, you know, we don't want to be more of a
distraction than we already are you know this this leaked out where you know we want to make sure that
we you know confirm the the truths in here and look we don't want to talk about the the deal
you know they have it and if they want to sign it you know know, we'll be happy to have her playing the big three.
Go ahead, Con, man.
Yeah, Cube, has there been any, like, negotiations with maybe some of the retired former WNBA greats like Diana Taurasi, maybe Sue Bird, perhaps?
Has there been any thoughts of doing that as well?
Sorry, Cube, that's on me.
I just picked something up.
I get the big three ball and I just covered up the whole thing.
Sorry about it.
Sorry about it.
Not yet.
You know, this is a special situation, a special player, you know,
that's moving the needle, you know, in a lot of different areas, you know,
ratings, attendance, ticket sales, this, that, and the other.
So, you know, of course, our sponsors are very interested in a player like this.
Of course, our sponsors are very interested in a player like this. So this is our first look at a player and going after this aggressively
because we know it will move the needle in the league,
and that's where we want to be.
What season are we going into here for the Big Three?
It's our season number seven.
Let's go.
Hell yeah.
Keep pushing.
Keep pushing.
It starts in June 20th.
June 15th.
Oakland, California.
You know, everybody's leaving Oakland.
We going back.
You know, tickets on sale, you know, I think this next Monday coming around.
Okay.
June 15th.
And I'm ready to go.
Do you have all the places already scheduled
where you're playing at a season ahead
of time? Yeah.
So, like, Kaitlyn would know exactly where
she would have to be for the
eight regular season, then the
playoffs ones. That's already in there. Like, hey, here's this.
And if there's a... Do we already know the WNBA
schedule? Has that already come out? Yes.
Okay. So so we know.
It feels like, hey.
It feels like it's doable.
Why not?
Hey, let's go.
It's very doable.
It's very doable.
I think there's one conflict, and we can work around that.
The timing?
You're saying scheduling conflict?
Yeah, just one game that we, I think we play on the same day at the same time.
So we would just have to move.
Take that the night before, sell out a special stream.
I mean, there's just so much.
That's what's great about the big three.
We play once a week.
And, you know, our games, they all have stakes.
And so, you know, we'd move the schedule
to accommodate
everybody involved.
So that's funny to hear, like, yeah, the
difference between us and WNBA, I'm the CEO,
so we do have
one particular scheduling
conflict, but we can move that if we had
to. If this takes place, this
will be huge. This will be massive.
And I couldn't even fathom what
the energy will be like in these big three arenas especially with the festivals you make every game
pretty much in a live show event we appreciate you taking a swing we appreciate that sports
world appreciates that cube we hope it can take place now i know you're in family vacation
and uh we have to ask have gotta ask what's up with the diddy what is going on with diddy man
oh my god the whole it feels like you're the world right now the rap world right now obviously
the diddy news is huge because the feds are involved and everything but then there's like
we got unfollowing going on we got shots we did the rap the rap world is is seemingly in full chaos right now yep we'll start with the
we know the i don't know i don't know if the rap world is in chaos you know this is okay you know
this everybody got their crews their clicks rap is very big so this is just one artist going through
it now i don't know what's going on you know i'm i'm sitting back checking out
everything you know and um it's just it's mind-boggling to be honest you know just to see
the turn of events you know over the you know course of these last couple of years it's just
crazy so when diddy has the feds on him, you know, and they're taking computers and everything like that, the conversation is, oh, who else is going to be involved in this?
As a human who's been in this business for so long and running your own shit, like not just, you know, you have you're an inspiration to people like us and to me who's like, yeah, I'm gonna do my own shit.
Like, this is how it's going to I'm gonna come up with this.
I'm going to figure out how to execute it. I'm going to do my own shit. Like, this is how it's going to go. I'm going to come up with this. I'm going to figure out how to execute it.
I'm going to do it.
I assume there's always been rumblings, though,
of shit happening around the music industry,
around the rap world.
And as soon as the internet sees any of this,
all those things are just like, yup, boom, bang, pal.
Is it hard for you not to do those same things whenever you see this type of shit take place
as a guy who's been an independent operator,
seemingly in a business that's been kind of foiled with controversy in this type of fashion for a long time?
I mean, you hear things. Me, you know, I stay on the grind. You know, I've never been to a
party. So I hear things and they, you know, they're rumors just like they are to anybody else.
They're rumors just like they are to anybody else.
So, you know, I stay on my grind, do what I do, and partying and all that.
You know, to me, it's too much cool stuff to do.
You know what I mean?
Than to just party and, you know, mess around and just mess off your career,
mess off your whole legacy.
You know what I'm saying?
It's like stay on your grind, man.
Keep doing what you do.
We're in a blessed position.
That's what it's all about,
man. Whenever you go
off the rails or
the head get too big,
nothing good happens.
Nothing good happens.
Yeah, we're finding that out.
Seems like a lot of people are finding that out.
We appreciate the hell out of you, man.
Thank you for taking time out of your family vacation
to clarify the story that you didn't want broken this morning.
And good luck with the Caitlin Clark signing.
We appreciate this.
Appreciate y'all, man.
Talk to you later.
Ladies and gentlemen, Ice Cube.
Back, man.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, Sursky.
What's happening, man?
Nice to see you, boy. Yes, sir. Ladies and gentlemen, Ice Cube. Back, man. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, Sursky. I see you, boy.
Yes, sir.
Ladies and gentlemen, Ice Cube.
Hell yeah.
Yeah, Cube.
Yeah, Cube.
How about you need, are we doing a collab here?
What the hell?
Yeah.
Definitely should call him for a collab.
Yeah.
I think he's handling his own business.
Call him back.
Feels like something he.
Yeah.
I could probably do a collab with him.
No, did he?
Well, that's up to you that's not i don't know
i don't know how we're taking it i don't know how we're i don't know how it's all
because what does that mean you know i took it as no diddy on the track yeah okay yeah yeah yeah of course yeah yeah it's why it's wall time yes it is you look at your phone something new comes out
it's like ah it's got to be fake. And then you're like, oh, no.
Syracuse basketball player was a drug mule?
What the fuck?
What the hell's going on?
How is this even?
What are we?
Well, they stopped his plane.
He's talking to his plane.
I thought his plane was in Antigua.
No, he's in Miami.
It's like, what?
His kids are in handcuffs from a helicopter shot in the backyard.
He's got nine trash cans, four recycling bins.
How many people are living in that fucking house?
Yeah.
And they're like, we're getting all the computers.
I'm like, fucking computers?
What does he got on his computers?
Well, we don't know what's on the computers.
That's why we want to look at the computers.
Well, the feds don't just go pull computers unless they...
And they're not just accidentally raiding houses to get computers.
That is normally pretty well known, I think, going in.
As somebody here in Indianapolis that had a pretty high-profile house raid.
As somebody who grew up in a neighborhood where one of these, two of these happened.
They're not just going in and going, yeah, we're wrong.
I don't think that's ever happened.
And the neighbors, too.
They're getting the neighbors coming.
I don't know if you saw that video of the guy driving out of his driveway.
In the Bentley.
Who lives right next to Diddy.
He's like saying a lot of stuff about what would go on late at night early in the morning outside of Diddy's house that dude uh his mom
actually came out said he was just trolling a good troll then because he got me see his mom
came out to say that because somebody told him she needs to go like there's a never ending
who's controlling who who's saying what and then you go one portion of the internet going this is
just the beginning yep it's like, alright.
Alright, what does that mean? What it means
is if you're a newly signed
artist, might be good times.
Might be good times. Stay away from
these parties. Don't go to
those parties. Host your own.
That's what Cube said.
Nothing good comes from it.
How do you know what's going to be happening at a party?
There's plenty of innocent people that went, though maybe i'm not just going to get
into all the stuff that i've read on the internet about all this it's been a lot yeah it's a lot
it's been a lot it's so awesome it's all true it is the situation is but uh and it's somebody that
used to get terrible yeah but learning that it exists potentially is wild.
I used to party back in the day.
Like, hey, you want to go have a good time?
Yeah, I definitely want to go have a good time.
They're saying some of these things were setups for people to potentially get put in precarious positions.
And then those things are kind of held over.
And I'm like, thank God I'm not a musician.
That's the case.
How do you start doing that? If you're trying do you start doing that if you're trying to be
the person that's going to do that and put people in those positions like when do you like what's
the first time you do it and then all of a sudden that becomes what you do you get approached by the
cia okay see that's uh okay that's the whole that's what we're talking about or lizard lizard
people well see it all Shapeshifters.
Yeah, shapeshifters.
It never stops.
That's not coming out of my mouth.
It never stops.
Never stops.
No, it doesn't.
This is victory.
Okay.
Okay, here we go.
I'm comfortably tight shirt.
Sure.
Okay.
Belt buckle.
I have belt buckle on.
It's been digging into my stomach this entire time.
No, you got, what's his name?
You got Parker McCollum's outfit on today.
I did.
I looked up and glanced and saw me, and I was? You got Parker McCollum's outfit on today. I looked up and glanced
and saw me and I was like
fucking Parker McCollum.
I was going to say you just need a ball cap
and then you got to do it. Come on.
He does this raw math.
And that left leg comes way out.
You got to kick that leg.
This is late in the show. The left leg's tired.
It's basically
a single leg squat for those that
don't know parker mccallum he is this ridiculously good looking rancher actual cowboy who sings
heartbreak songs in it you go out there and it's just 15 to 21 year old girls that are just crying
yeah everywhere going through it heartbreak city yep somebody just broke up with me old
chad is an asshole and parker's up there and then he hits the move and they forget about
everything for a couple hours wailing to his voice yeah he goes big he goes big it's like
the cody rhodes pop we love parker yeah there was one time we said uh we said can you just make a
song for like us please oh we're dumb. We're drunk.
Drinking beer. Smoking weed.
One of those.
We'll get to it, man. I'll write about
Heartbreak Country.
He's so attractive.
Is he not?
He took his hat off, I believe.
He took his hat off. No, he turned it backwards.
It's obviously a showman's move.
In that boom.
We know what was dropping. Wearing a white tucked in shirt is He took his hat off. No, he turned it backwards. Yeah. Which is obviously a showman's move. In that boom. Yeah.
I mean, we know what was dropping.
Wearing a white tucked-in shirt is, I mean, that's a lot of confidence.
Yeah.
You got to know that you look like that to wear a tucked-in white shirt.
He's doing Texas San Enfield with George Strait.
Really?
Is that a?
What's that?
Are we sure?
What?
Are we sure?
What?
Are we sure?
We don't know if that's part of it. Are we sure? What? Are we sure? What? Are we sure? We don't know if that's probably.
Are we sure?
Yeah, yeah.
I think.
Oh, boy.
Oh, boy.
Why aren't we sure about that?
Oh, boy.
Well, we were at Peyton Manning's Children's Hospital gala, and Peyton Manning had a Q&A
with me and Parker up there on stage, and Peyton had his questions right now in front
of him.
He goes off script a little bit. He goes, you're also
doing a show with George Strait down at
Texas A&M, right? And Parker goes,
that has not been announced yet,
but yes. My publisher's going to kill me.
Yes, I am.
Literally, Peyton immediately afterwards goes, just stick
to the fucking script, Peyton.
Like backstage, he was literally,
I'm so sorry. I did not know.
Just stick to the script, Peyton, you idiot. I am so sorry. I did not know. Just stick to the script, Peyton. You idiot.
I am so sorry.
It has been enough. Came out on the 19th.
Peyton tried to ruin that.
I just wanted to let everybody know. Yes, he did.
And right after that, too, is when you were like,
I got a question for you two, and Peyton was like, Jesus
Christ. And he sat back and he
saw Donald the fucking script.
Oh, shit. He was
Parker with George Strait's a big deal.
He's a Texas boy.
At Kyle Field.
Yeah.
Born and raised.
115,000.
That's good for him.
Sold out.
Proud of you, Parker.
He's a Houston Texans fan, too.
They're fucking good now.
Living a good life.
What's that?
What's that?
Tickets go on sale tomorrow.
You're welcome, Parker.
Actually, I thought I may have broke the wrong news.
Look at that.
Oh, let's call him and see if he answers.
One of the three gods of Texas.
How old is George Strait now?
He picked the Texans.
Still doing it.
28.
Huh?
He picked the Texans over the Colts, too.
I think you're right.
Who?
Parker.
Parker's from the Houston area.
Remember, he did the Houston Rodeo.
It was a fucking homecoming.
Parker's got some stage presence.
Yes, he does.
We just showed him.
Hey, we're live.
We're live.
Hey.
We're live.
I'm on Apple CarPlay.
We're live, and you're not going to be able to see me.
Well, we're just talking about how good a looking of a guy you are,
so not being able to see you kind of, like, fucked up.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow for you and George Strait
down at Aggie Field down around here.
They do, yes, sir.
Kyle Field, first ever concert on my birthday of all days, Pat.
Happy birthday.
Happy birthday. Happy birthday. It's our birthday, too. Happy birthday. It's crazy. Thanks, sir. Kyle Field. First ever concert on my birthday of all days, Pat. Happy birthday.
It's our birthday, too.
It's crazy. Thanks, guys.
Hey, good for you. You deserve it all. We're talking about how handsome you are and how you never wrote a song
for us, if you recall.
I actually have a song
in my notes called the Pat McAfee Show
song.
If you're really dying to know
where it is. Sing it, then. Yeah, well, let's hear it.
I'm joking. Sing it.
Hey, we appreciate you. Good luck with everything, pal.
Ask him about Diddy. I love you guys. Talk to you
soon. Hey, we love you too, man.
Hey, hey, hey.
Parker. Hey.
You ever go to any Diddy parties?
Every now and then.
Okay.
It's not a crime to go to a party. Boy, a good and then. Okay. All right.
Not a crime to go to a party.
Boy, a good promo for that concert.
Yeah. Yeah.
It was always a good thought.
The more that I was thinking about it, the less, I mean, we talk about.
The less what?
I mean, you talk about rookie kickers in the NFL, right?
They have to go through their whole season,
and they have to go through another whole season.
She has to go through her entire last season, emotional, of course,
last tournament, and then the season starts May 24th.
The draft is in April.
She doesn't have that much time off, if any,
because she's finishing school, and she probably graduates in May,
and then the season starts May 24th.
Ten Saturdays.
Exactly.
Doing three-on-three.
Five million bucks.
Five million bucks.
WNBA salaries, I don't think.
Well, that's the other thing, thinking about that.
Like, the NCAA women's players are becoming such stars.
They're going to have to redo that in the first pick.
And it might start with Kaitlin.
It might start down the road.
But, like, this Juju Watkins at USC,
she has the third most points ever in her freshman year.
She's going to be in it if she plays all four years like Kaitlin.
There are some other girls, the girl from South Carolina
who's coming off the bench and scoring 30 points in 15 minutes, the center.
There are a bunch of stars now in women's college basketball
that they're going to have to change it.
Yeah, but the WNBA is not going to want to change it.
No.
No.
We're finally about to make some money now.
They might have to.
They might have to change that.
I looked it up.
The rookie wage scale, $76,000 is the number one overall pick.
Yeah.
That is no brainer.
She needs to change the game.
She's going to go play in Europe and make more money in Europe.
What are you talking about?
Let's go change the game.
Let's start with the big three first.
And they have to.
Then they're drafting a big three player.
Which Kaitlyn Clark is then going to be at odds with the WNBA.
Yeah, exactly.
Her teammates are going to love that.
If that happens.
Why?
Her teammates?
They're trying to get more money for them.
Yeah, she's going to be the future.
They understand.
The game is Wednesday, Friday, Sunday.
So she would play Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Three games back to back to back.
But big three is half court.
Yeah, it's half court.
I don't think that's an issue.
She's just going over the four-point spot anyways and just hawking.
And her dad's like, do a layup.
Why are you going to be so flashy?
How do we feel about him?
We like him.
I think he is going to be a huge factor for Big 3.
I think he's going to be like, you've got to go fucking show him.
What, you don't want to play basketball?
You don't want to play basketball, huh?
Don't want to compete?
Yeah, you want to compete?
Exactly.
I think he's going to be Ice Cube's best friend.
There's a chance he also, and we've had a chance to interact with some of her representation,
and they're going to get it right.
But there's a chance that Caitlyn, her dad, and the WNBA
are going to have to figure it out
because she has a $5 million offer publicly sitting right there.
$76,000.
$76,535.
She probably got the Nike deal, though.
Oh, yeah.
State Farm. State Farm, Gatorade. She does have all that. She does have all that, but that $76,535. She probably got the Nike deal, though. Oh, yeah. State Farm.
State Farm, Gatorade.
She does have all that.
She does have all that, but that's not, hey, WNBA can't be pocket watching what's making
outside of that.
She can't make a bonus of $5,000 if she wins Rookie of the Year.
Okay, so $81,000 potentially.
What are we doing?
How much were your tickets?
How much were your season tickets for the Fever?
Season tickets for 19 years, I believe, were $6,500.
Okay, so that's one.
What's that?
Was that before they knew Kaitlin would be the number one?
No.
Would it be coming out?
No, no, no.
It was after.
I mean, I was getting tickets because Clark's playing 19 years.
No, you're a sports supporter.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, I live and die with the Fever.
But to really get me there, especially during NBA playoffs, NHL playoffs.
She's going to be selling out all these arenas.
Yeah. So there has to be some sort of deal. Like, NHL playoffs. She's going to be selling out all these arenas. Yeah.
So there has to be some sort of deal.
Like, hey, listen, we're not fucking idiots.
Well, she has all the power.
She has all the leverage.
What was it, the Alex Rodriguez rule?
Like, it should be like the Kaitlyn Clark rule.
We'll see, because I think isn't the biggest issue is that, like,
they've been talking about, like, they're breaking all these records,
like Iowa games in terms of viewership.
Like, if that happens when she gets to the WNBA, if their numbers skyrocket,
then you would assume that there's going to be a new CBA.
They're going to have to come up with something because then that will truly change
all the advertising deals and all that kind of stuff.
Unless Kaitlin goes, I understand this is going to be a three- to four-year transition process business-wise.
I'm here to help grow the wmba i get it like you guys are going to profit immensely off of me but that doesn't mean the whole league is profiting and i'm here to better the league
after and i'll take 81 grand because of nike because of state farm because of gatorade because
of all the things that are going to happen probably here in indianapolis you know i mean
there's gonna salesforce already signed her to something.
Local businesses are going to make a lot of money.
So there is a chance that Kaitlin Clark is like, I'm here to better the WNBA.
And I very much understand it. It's like Kathy Engelbert and Adam Silver then need to be treating her like a god.
treating her like a Yeah.
The princess who was promised.
Kind of like LeBron.
Like, remember, there was
Brittany Griner was walking through
like commercial.
Yeah.
Like the actual airport.
It's like, can't be doing that
if this person's making all the money
for your league.
Like, you gotta, we're gonna have to
make some sort of
But Kaitlyn too, though.
Kaitlyn, like every other athlete
could say, hey, I might fall down
the stairs tomorrow
and never be able to play again.
Like, I need to take the guaranteed money.
$76,000 versus $5 million for 10 games.
Well, what you said about it.
What if she says, no to the WNBA?
What if she says, you know what?
I'm going to go back to the NCAA, actually.
And I'm going to take the $5 million from the Big 3.
So I'll be able to get all my out.
Don't do that.
Hey, Cube, if she's even considering not coming to Indianapolis,
I need you to withdraw your offer.
That's right.
I know it's good for her and her family.
We need her here in Indy.
We got fever season tickets already.
Yeah, bingo.
What you said about Adam Silver kind of gives it another angle too
because obviously, like Cube said, they don't work with the NBA,
and there has been public sputes between the big three and the NBA.
So if Silver gets involved, then I think
that he definitely is.
Yeah, he might just kibosh
this thing. Yeah, we're not
fucking doing this. This was fun.
Uh-uh. And that's why
we love him. And that's why we love him.
Hey, Jay. He's a good commissioner.
Great commissioner. Tall. He's kind of weird
looking a little bit, but we love him.
Whoa.
Ty didn't say that.
I didn't know.
That was a phone.
Yeah.
Exactly.
That was a video.
We saw one clip of one speech, and it has become a 48-hour straight run off of everything.
My throat hurt pretty bad this morning waking up.
The amount of butt we love them.
Yep.
Hell yeah.
At least 100.
Jeez.
This one's universe ball.
Caitlin Clark.
Okay.
And you're going to – actually, you're going to – no, you're doing a putt for a giveaway.
This is universe ball.
Universe ball.
Universe ball.
That we can give him to it.
You're right.
That's a good idea.
So hold on, hold on.
That's a good idea, Pat.
Can't have you on that team, Pat.
That's a good idea, Pat. Can't have you here because he's our – Pat, we don't have you on that team, Pat. That's a good idea, Pat.
Pat, we don't need you on that team.
We love giving away money.
We enjoy it.
There's some people that are ingrates and that will always happen.
I said some.
There are people that are, you know, seemingly, you know, all that.
But a majority of people are great.
We can never let the assholes ruin it for the majority,
which is kind of a metaphor for life, too. You know what I mean. But a majority of people are great. We can never let the assholes ruin it for the majority,
which is kind of a metaphor for life, too.
You know what I mean?
That's Twitter.
Taylor Clark going to a big three or no?
Uh-uh.
We're about to find out. We'll decide.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Ooh.
It looked good, too.
That's how you know it was a real one.
The universe is talking.
Yeah, it was.
Uh-oh.
If you do recall,
first week of March Madness, two universe
balls said two different teams were going to win the national championship.
Both teams were out.
They lost their next games immediately.
So the universe has been lying.
Why you always
lying.
It's the big three, Caitlin Clark.
Oh, no.
It's no chance. It was a fun idea. It was cool. It was a good idea. Smart by is big three, Caitlin Clark. Oh, no. It's no chance.
It was a fun idea. It was cool.
It was a good idea. Smart by the big three.
It was smart. It was smart by the big three.
There maybe had been a lingering
rumor of this
potentially last week. You know that we
had heard?
An immediate reaction is that's smart play
for the big three. Smart by the big three. We didn't know what the
number was. We just heard there was...
Great marketing.
Yeah.
Great marketing.
Great marketing.
But what if they do?
Like, what if...
It could happen.
It absolutely could happen.
Yeah.
Then they're selling out every arena they're going to.
Not that they wouldn't, but they're now getting exposed to a completely different demo of
people that probably didn't even know the Big 3 existed.
For sure.
And now, boom, you're off and running.
Like, from their standpoint, I'm appreciative of the fact that they are
creative enough
like he said whenever we thought of the idea
thought of the idea I like that
I like that you thought of the idea
because most people would just be like nah no chance
and Ice Cube's like well let's fucking see
let's find out
if she is
at least we can take her shot
and if it hits
I mean that's's a big deal.
Yeah, for sure.
There has to be some sort of percentage that they're going to respond with
about TV deals that come after this.
Like there's a chance that their counter would be.
But if they get a counter, that means there's a chance of this entire thing.
And you talk about all his marketing partners.
It's like, hey, this is real.
We potentially can get Caitlin Clark. How much do we
feel about it? And then all of a sudden, now you got
somehow an amount of money that you never thought
you could get to. You're there all of a sudden.
How about percent of ownership?
Percent of ownership is good, but I think
she would want TV deals.
She ain't going to get that if she goes to the league.
Don't they have rules?
Don't they have salary caps and rules like every
other professional?
She wouldn't be able to do that for the WNBA, though.
What's that?
WNBA.
Half for TV and all of that stuff.
That's what I'm saying.
Business-wise, for 10 weeks, 8 weeks, maybe 10 weeks, 5 weeks?
So we didn't even think about it.
We assume she's going to do great in the big three.
Like four-point shot.
Four-point shot, just post up, yeah. I assume she's going to be able to hit that but it's the other side that i
would worry yeah how's everything else it's like if what if she rolls ankle or something yeah
anything like that there are some legitimate oh no what current salaries around the wNBA, the Atlanta Dream, total salaries, 1.3 million.
Chicago Sky, 1 million.
Connecticut Sun, 1.4.
Dallas, 1.2.
Indiana Fever, 1.2.
That's big.
Cap Room, a couple hundred thousand.
The Washington Mystics, total salaries, $938,000.
What do the coaches get paid?
Key CBA number salary.
Maximum.
208 is the maximum.
1.4 is the salary cap.
Okay.
1.4 is the salary cap.
They need that TV money, man.
That's how you pay people.
Well, if Caitlyn in the league,
they should get
a tv when's their tv deal yeah when did it wins it up you know anything's up at any time that's
what we're learning right yeah if humans you know what i mean we just heard the other day that espn
fox yeah and who is it uh warner hbso right was it cbs who was it that or combining into that service yeah that came out
i don't know if anybody really like the amount of things that are just like fluid seemingly at all
times well we want to pick up another game well how much money do you have 150 million okay amazon
yeah yeah sounds good you got a playoff game congratulations like amazon could come in and say
we would like five of caitlin's games from cbs so then cbs would get the number
of the money where they would have to be the ones that decide with it because they're in
it's almost like you're you're renting a house that you're renting it's like a double rent cbs
is able to that's what happened with the big 10 deal fox had all the games and then they leased
them back to the league to be able to re-license them to Peacock
so whenever it was being sold potentially to Peacock they thought maybe they didn't know what
games they'd be getting but the Big Ten was like we're there the Fox was like we control all the
Big Ten games you guys can have this one you guys can have this one you guys can have this one and
then the league had to go to Peacock and say hey here's the games we have and they still build an entire thing around it all so it is possible even under a contract to be able to
kind of move the wmba current tv deals are worth around 60 million in total esbn chief jimmy
pataro expects the wmba to be part of any meteorites renewal deal with the nba okay here we go yep
and it will grow like the stars in in women's college basketball are becoming massive.
Well, not only getting paid for a reason. People are paying attention.
Like Caitlin Clark said, people seem to care more about the women's tournament than the men's tournament.
And that's like all the people she's around.
And who knows the amount of gambling that's on the men's side is going to keep people involved there.
But the amount of tension in conversation.
For sure. And I can just only speak
for myself, the amount of interest. I'll turn on.
I will turn on the women's
A lot of people will.
People that aren't even really basketball fans will turn on
to watch her. That South Carolina team,
even when they were up 45,
they were up 45 over North Carolina.
I'm still watching because the
intensity, the style
of play is like 100 every drive
every single possession we are full speed give like it is it's an incredible turn it's an
incredible style of play well it'll be interesting to see if iowa and lsu both make it for a rematch
like that that will draw massive massive numbers well. Well, West Virginia was trying.
Yeah.
I mean, this USC team. We played good, though.
We played good.
Yeah, we played great.
We screwed by the ropes.
Juju Watkins is absurdly good at basketball.
I'm excited for this USC game, especially.
I mean, it's Friday, so I believe if we all watch that,
you will be stunned by how good this girl is.
I've seen the –
Yeah.
Yeah.
Just watching like the up and down.
Yeah, she's a freshman.
She scored I think 900 points this year.
It's absurd.
All right.
Well, shout out to the fever.
Yeah.
Yes.
Let's make this happen.
Let's not ask you about business an entire league.
No.
Right.
You can do this.
You can.
What can you do when you have $80,000 in the salary cap this year?
What can they do?
There's exceptions to everything.
She needs to take this money.
Rules change.
Yes.
She absolutely needs to take this money.
What about the fever, Foxy?
She can do both.
I trust her.
She's been playing AAU her whole life.
She probably played every single day growing up. She's not going to do both. We only her. She's been playing AAU her whole life. She probably played every single day growing up.
She's not going to do both.
We only talk about 10 weeks right here.
We only talk about 10 weeks.
10 days.
10 days, 10 weeks, 10 games.
10 flights.
Do they play one game in each time?
I think so.
Because if it's just one game.
Multiple teams, yeah.
And it's half court.
Yeah, because it's eight teams in a single game.
Just getting wound up for my other game. The thing I am interested about is like injury would be bad yeah like the physicality is
there physicality in a big three i don't know like because underneath there is big dudes yeah
there's big big guys i mean good players guys that are very very good the injury is going to
be the problem because say they're in the hunt and she has a big three game at the end of July
And they're making a playoff play
See I'd go the complete opposite direction
If I'm paying them $5 million and somebody else is paying them $76,000
I'd be like hey we're in a playoff hunt over here
Let's make sure we're not fucking around on this full court
Do you think she wants to help build the WNBA more?
For sure
It's not her job though
It's not her job
Absolutely not
I bet you the Caitlin Clark camp is actually having full on Oh yeah but like first but it's not her job though it's not her job absolutely not that's a wild i bet
you the caitlin clark camp is actually having full on oh yeah there's pros they should there's a full
pros and cons list going i bet you there's very mixed feelings in the room i'm sure there's
somebody that is all in on yes oh yeah this is trailblazing groundbreaking two leagues same time
highest paid this is by far what we're doing.
And then there's other people that are like, well, will this take away?
Does she become a sideshow?
Like all that type of shit.
I couldn't even imagine that room.
$5 million feels like the right number.
Like Ice Cube and them feels like that's a lot of money compared to what
they're going to make over there.
It's like when I first heard of it, I thought no chance.
But then as we started looking at it, the salary cap is one-third,
for the entire team, is one-third of what she's making
playing 10 games in another league.
It's like, you've got to look at that.
There's a moral dilemma, either.
This isn't lived.
It's not like, hey, I don't know if I should take this money.
Like, no.
No, moral-wise, though, but what if –
Checks out.
I'm not saying this happens, but what if... Checks out.
I'm not saying this happens,
but what if she gets D'd up by some 6'8 grown man
and scores zero points for 10 straight weeks?
That doesn't matter.
I don't think people care.
Yeah, and I really don't.
Also, if they're paying her $5 million...
She'll get over it.
She never think about that as a player.
She probably ain't think about that.
Her team, though.
Hey, they lock me up, they lock me up.
I go over here and score 30.
Go to the WNBA on Saturday or on Friday.
Okay, drop 27, have 10 assists.
Go into that three-on-three game.
They got six-foot-eight Gary Payton somehow, the modern day, locking her down.
And they're like, well.
She could also do that.
Made $500,000 today, and I'll see you tomorrow.
Keep it all on the court in the WNBA and then just be like, alright, I'm
just going to fucking run around screens for 30 minutes
in the big three. Guess what? They're still
paying me $500,000. Yeah, if she talks to
Kathy Engelbert, that's just
my practice session. I'm just going to dick around, run around a little
bit, get some cardio. This is what I
would be doing in my off day anyways.
I'd be putting up 500 shots. They're only going to let me
put up 30 shots in this game.
I'll shoot one from half court, at least one.
I'll do the whole song and dance.
Yeah, but outside of that.
If season one works, what's the season two price?
Well, that's the percentage of the team.
That's where, not WNBA percentage, but like with Cube, the business,
that's where you figure out the whole.
Imagine if Dwight Howard comes to the big three.
Her throwing oops to Dwight all day long.
Dwight?
Dwight's done with basketball.
He's still playing.
He's still playing.
He's living like a god in Taiwan.
I don't think we're getting him out of there.
He's living his.
He said, don't worry about me over here.
There's things coming up about Dwight.
That guy, he was a basketball quarterback.
Oh, yeah.
Is he still?
I haven't seen the highlights.
Oh, yeah.
He's still playing.
Chucking threes.
He's living the dream.
Caitlin throwing to whoever it will be.
Because we haven't seen that game.
Scal Brainy.
Not many dunks in the big three.
Oh, really?
Yeah, not many.
There's only a few guys, I think, that are still dunking in the big three.
Well, because I watch those Olympics.
The Olympics, there's not.
Exactly, yeah.
Like Joe Johnson, probably people who would watch the big
three will say he's the best player in the big for sure he's not he's not duncan not anymore all
right let's go five million bucks a lot of money think about it you know pissed all right now we're
thinking about the other guys in the big three now let's talk that's that's big yeah five million
bucks huh all right cool let's see how this is you gotta worry about that yeah because worry about it
they have families friends rep, reputations,
everything like that as well.
Oh, did you see what Kaitlin did?
Like, just as a competitive human being.
They all competed at a very high level in basketball.
And she's making 3X, probably, what they're making in there.
Yeah, but business-wise, they'd understand.
More eyes, more money.
I think everybody in the big three would be like,
okay, more eyes, more money for all of us.
Probably a lot of...
But when the playoffs come, you know, one knows.
Ah, man, that would be intriguing to watch.
That'd be a social study happening right in front of us.
From one day literally to the next.
Whatever town they go to afterwards,
look at your hero now.
Whatever city they're in, a lot of that.
A lot of that.
I mean, it's just writing itself for a rock promo.
Papa Clark, look at your hero now, Papa Clark.
Look what you've done. Look at your daughter
now. 0 for 4 from the field.
Papa. Did you see what the rock did
to Cody Rhodes back there? No, I didn't.
It was bad.
Your next three hours are locked in.
How many people did we ask that at the
late meeting? How many guests did we ask?
Every person.
Ryan Poles, did you see what The Rock did to Cody Rhodes last night in the middle of the evening?
No.
Oh, same reaction?
Yeah.
You don't want to know.
So fun.
Cody Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes is going to bounce back stronger than that.
Mama Rhodes.
Yeah.
She's ready.
She's tough enough.
Yeah.
See you Friday.
See what happens
Well then Monday in Brooklyn
In the Big Apple
We gotta start thinking about how the fuck I'm gonna get to Brooklyn in time
Starting now
On that particular Monday
That is
It's great to be in a big city, great to be here
Getting there is fucking impossible
So many humans
We're taking a helicopter
Landing on the arena
Just found that out in my head
Can we check and see if there's a helicopter
On arena there in Brooklyn
Boy is it at the Barclays
I believe so if it's in Brooklyn
It's always a parachute
They should have one
Squirrel suit even
That'd be pretty cool.
I saw that fucking flying car.
It goes up to 1,500 meters.
What is that, 2,000 feet?
There are ways.
Have you shot 92,000 bucks?
Have you heard about this?
Do you have to get some kind of certification or whatever?
Because it looks amazing.
You should do it.
I'm buying one.
92,000 bucks right here.
Right here.
It's available.
Only 15 minutes of flying time.
They need to figure that out. Yeah. Do not buy that. do not buy that what do you mean i don't know i think
you should i i saw a satellite the roll cage too i'm good i think it's a grunt 85 percent of people
oh my god what you said you could i've 85 percent of people who've flown this have died i think i
saw no no i completely believe that oh i'm sorry You guys don't want to fly because it's only for 15 minutes?
Sorry.
Oh, my God.
What a life.
Me too, AJ.
I'm in that.
I'm flying to work.
I'm flying home.
They're saying the longest this could last is 15 minutes.
There's no way I'm risking my life for that.
What are you doing?
Flying over the ocean, Goop?
Come on.
You know how short 15 minutes?
They're talking about 15 minutes like it's hours.
I'm flying at 2,000 feet.
I want to take this thing back to Iowa.
15 minutes is a lot.
I couldn't even get to the sky.
What?
There's traffic?
There's traffic in the sky?
What happened to Bill Ayer?
He ain't there.
Bill Ayer ain't flying at 1,500 feet.
I couldn't even get to work.
Sometimes.
Sometimes.
I feel like he's coming in hot.
This is for the universe ball.
Is there a weight limit?
I'd assume.
Yeah, six pounds.
Yeah.
Anything over 200 pounds, it only lasts seven and a half minutes.
Why is everybody so negative about the future?
I've been dreaming of this thing forever.
It's not the future.
That's a death trap.
Yeah.
Who's the one with the real one, the wild and wonderful?
Magic Mike.
Zapotis. The Zapotis. That's what you need. Yeah, the one with the real one? The wild and wonderful? Zapata.
That's what you need.
That one, sure. Because that one's been in testing for years. Is that a jet pack?
Yeah, it's an Iron Man suit.
You've got a jet literally directly on your back.
You guys are like, yeah, that one's better than the one that has a full
fucking roll cage. Yeah, but you're wearing a helmet
and you've got padding on it. I've got a helmet on in there.
Oh, yeah. Okay.
Parachute? You'll wear a parachute.
Right on the back.
Yeah, there'll be plenty of time to pull it, too.
2,000 feet.
It's like a base. That guy's not flying at 2,000 feet.
I think there's a reason.
Well, he was just showcasing because the drone couldn't get as high as you.
And I assume there's a reason.
I'm going right over the fucking traffic at the neighborhood from house to here.
You're clipping.
Hopefully it's not trees. I mean, if you get over the trees. I don't think you can get over the fucking traffic at the neighborhood. From house to here. You're clipping. Hopefully it's not trees.
I mean, if you...
I'm going over to Indy.
I don't think you can get over the trees.
15 minutes, you ain't making it to Indy, pal.
No shit.
I'll stop and charge.
I'll recharge.
20 minutes.
20 minutes?
Are you kidding me?
If a mosquito goes into one of those propellers, that thing's going down.
Pat, let's get realistic for a second.
You recharging this thing after the first time you fly it?
I recharge every... My car, it? I recharge my car.
I have to recharge every day.
I have to.
I have to plug it in every single day.
I thought we had an issue with that.
Well, yeah.
I get 6% over a 12-hour period.
This is 6% over 12 days.
This smells like gas.
Oh, now I'm in.
Is it gas?
I think it's battery.
No, it's definitely battery.
Got it.
It wouldn't be 15 minutes of a gas.
It better be gas. Is that the tank only list? Better fucking start this thing like a lawnmower. No, it's definitely battery. It wouldn't be 15 minutes if it was gas. It better be gas.
You have to say the tank only lasts.
You better fucking start this thing like a lawnmower.
They don't have a tank on this thing.
They got to go with gas.
Is this gas?
Nick, it has to be gas.
Nowhere.
Electric.
I can't do it.
I'm out.
Have fun.
There's a golf cart in the air.
I'm out.
Pat couldn't even get to Indianapolis with his little electric car.
Remember that?
You were on the side of the road.
You're dead.
Yeah, he could have been caught at 2,000 feet.
Then they tell you.
And so you'd be going like, I got 58 miles.
Then it starts saying, let the windows down.
Then it goes automatically in three more minutes to 17 miles.
Turn the radio off.
What the fuck?
Yeah, air conditioning too.
That'll get you.
You got no chance.
Nope.
My electric vehicles have never
left me on the side of the road but it's certainly been close i'd ride back in like four degree
weather because i couldn't have the heaters on yeah gas powered cars have because i had to just
put in well gas powered you know what you're doing yeah and you know what you're doing with
the electric killing millions of kids in cobalt mines all over the world.
Absolutely.
Whoa, absolutely.
There's no absolutes in this business.
In cobalt mines, there are a lot of absolutes.
Can't weigh more than 86 kilograms to fly this thing?
Oh, man, good.
I weigh 85.
Yeah, let me see the gas powered one.
Same company?
I'm not following.
Here we go.
Here we go.
Hey, you, Z. I'm taking that to Indy next week. Z company? I'm not following. Here we go. Here we go. Hey, you, Z.
Hey, you, Z.
I'm taking that to Indy next week.
Z, you made a mockery of the whole thing.
You made a mockery of the whole thing.
At a baby Z.
At that nice buck-eyed parachute.
There is.
Situation.
Bonus ball, bonus ball, bonus ball.
Over the football is a great bonus ball.
Good news in this thing, you can fly safely with the loss of one motor.
So if you lose a motor, you're still good.
Which one?
The Jettison one?
They already have a possibility of losing a motor?
Yeah, you got to check all the boxes.
Well, safety is their number one priority.
It says it right here on the website.
So blow up the vehicle then.
Hey, it comes with a parachute with rapid deployment.
Oh, yeah, we're good.
If this goes in, if this goes in,
I'm not dying in that thing.
Okay.
Okay?
Okay?
Yep.
Let's make this one.
Oh, that's so sweet.
Oh, no.
Oh, bummer.
Bonus ball.
Oh.
Have you ever seen a more pure bonus ball?
Yeah, I was going to say that.
Two of them.
Come on.
Oh, shit.
Oh, so those bonus balls
were the universe like,
no, no, no. Do it again. Try it, try it, try it. It's fun.
You got a daughter, 11 month old here.
Hop in one of these fucking things.
You're right, universe, thank you.
Shout out.
Thank you for doing that.
Alright Pac, you wanna win some money for some people?
What are we doing?
Not gonna be universe balls.
You can putt if you'd like, we can get footballs. You can throw into the trash can over there.
Basketballs are all gone because the universe just had a bunch of misses.
Throw into that net.
Football.
Football.
You want to throw footballs.
Okay.
All right.
We need shoes, Pat.
My shoes are awesome.
Those are awesome.
Max pilot weight, 210 pounds.
I'm going to have to lose some weight.
Okay.
Oh, boy.
Only like 45 pounds.
We're not talking.
I mean, the universe has already talked about this.
I can lose 45 pounds for sure.
What did McConaughey lose for that one roll?
He lost like 70.
Hey, if we don't listen to the universe balls,
then what are we even shooting them for?
I won't get in that thing.
I'm not going to be able to get 210 pounds
either within the next...
Model 2, that's what we want.
That'll be like an hour of flight time
and 250 pounds.
Maybe Model 3 or 4.
Yeah.
5, 6.
We'll see.
If there's any mad mics,
we'll figure that out.
Test it out.
All right, Pac-Man,
what do you want to do?
You want to throw into the net,
the trash can?
Basketball hoop?
Basketball hoop.
Oh, shit.
Wow.
That's the hardest one.
Okay, 30 winners of $500
If you put that football into that hoop
Right over there
Stand on business
You had the right

Jeez Louise
What hand did you throw that with

30 people, 500.
Yep.
Oh.

Ladies and gentlemen, Pac-Man Jones is attempting to win 30 people.
Oh.
There's this one right here, down here.
Mm-hmm.
30 people, $500.
Oh, Adam, Pac-Man Jones has to go.

Cool colors.
Very cool colors.
That's cool color right there.
We like that color.
What color is that?
What would you call it?
It's called mint.
Okay.
I can see.
Teal is in there.
Teal.
Aqua.
Aqua.
Morint.
All a combination of what they call mint.
I would say mint is a proper descriptor of it, but I think there's other options
available as well. I think so.
Spearmint, maybe?
There's a rhino,
I think. There is.
Is there? Oh, yeah.
A spearmint rhino?
That thing runs in the desert, right?
Oh, yeah. All night long.
That's a strong. That's a nocturnal
rhino. That's right. That's a spearmint rhino out there in the desert. Doesn't need any water, seemingly. Not's a strong. That's a nocturnal rhino. That's right. That's Spearmint Rhino out there in the desert.
Doesn't need any water, seemingly.
Not even available.
Nope.
Water's not even available.
Nope.
What kind of fluid does it need?
Ones.
Ones, I think.
Oh, piss.
Yeah, well, I know exactly where he goes every time.
He might have said semen.
I mean, it was one of the two that he was thinking of.
I think it was that one.
Ask the questions. Given the answers you want. He might have said semen. I mean, it was one of the two that he was thinking of. I think it was that one. Thank you.
Given the answers you want.
Bright teal, greenish.
Greenish cayenne.
Cayenne, greenish turquoise.
Cayenne.
Marine.
Aqua marine is what I was going to get.
Aqua marine, yeah.
It's called cayenne, not cyan.
You tell me.
I have no idea.
I would have believed cayenne for aquamarine.
Greenish cyan? Because cayenne would be like cayenne pepper. Which is C-A-Y-. I have no idea. I would have believed Cyan. Cyan. Greenish Cyan?
Because Cyan would be like cayenne pepper.
Which is C-A-Y-A-N.
Yes.
Oh.
But also, cayenne works there, too.
What, have you never had a Crayola box of 64?
I didn't eat my Crayons, but the...
128, bitch.
Greenish Cyan.
Greenish Cyan is how I'm going to describe this color going forward.
Okay. Aquamarine is pretty sick, too.
Well, aquamarine I have heard before.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, really?
I mean, aqua, of course.
You've heard of greenish cyan?
No, no, no.
I was going to say I haven't heard of any of these colors.
Aquamarine is a very popular color.
Yeah, aquamarine.
This one right here.
Yep.
Aqua is the only one I knew on here.
What about bright teal?
Teal I knew.
You've heard of greenish turquoise?
No, I have not.
You certainly have had to refer to both those things.
Separately, yes.
Okay, okay.
But piecing them together.
No way.
Bright teal.
It is bright teal.
You like the color bright teal?
Aquamarine.
This is a good ad.
Aquamarine, hoorah, brother.
That's what this color is.
You're damn right.
Come on. You're damn right. Pack, April 19th, we got another song OURA, brother. That's what this color is. You're damn right. Come on. You're damn right.
Pack, April 19th, we got another song coming.
Yes, sir. What's it?
Mary Jane. Oh, nice lady.
Yeah. Yeah, she's a nice lady.
Mary Jane's a nice lady. Yeah, we spend a lot of time,
a lot of us spend a lot of time with Mary Jane.
She's done a lot of things for a lot of us. Yes, sir.
I guess 80-some percent of Americans
are like,
we like Mary Jane, too. Let them have it. It's time.
Let them have it.
Who's them? What do you mean?
The way you said it with your cowboy hat on and your judgment.
Let those hippies have it.
Anybody who wants to smoke it, let them have it.
I don't think it's the smoke that's changing
people's minds.
It is certainly the gummies.
I don't smoke it.
No. Bad for your lungs
you do i got a lot of gum i think you're right you're right actually yeah it's like well you
know it's a similar operation especially the old similar the olds are super into the gummies i don't
smoke it i would never do that hippie no i ain't doing that yeah did you ever you want to
taste that watermelon that's their generation i love them yeah i'm not smelling i'm eating it so yeah it's from the earth
it's like yeah that's what we've been that's what we've been saying is everything feels better right
yeah yeah okay just making sure we're all on the same page i think it's close i think we're close
i think we're close federal like federal i think we're closer than ever i genuinely believe that
he would know a little bit more because he has his own training he's in the business of it all
but like from reading the tea leaves and i have like lobbyists now send me messages like
would really love if you would come speak for blah blah blah who is campaigning for this or
whatever and i'm like i'm definitely not going to do that because i'm not getting involved in
your world but i do appreciate that you're doing that you know a lot of that type of talk feels like it's gaining a lot of traction because
it's like, uh, you know, the other thing else going on pills.
Yeah.
Big moneymaker to importing of stuff as opposed to us growing it yourself.
Yeah.
And knowing what we're getting as opposed to a potential roll of the dice, especially
as there seemingly is an attack on a generation of people with drugs that are just killing
them immediately upon taking it from outside of our country.
So why don't we, you know, potentially be able to maybe settle that?
This isn't the old days.
Seemingly a brand new day.
New task, new trial.
We're not saying that people, everybody needs it, but not everybody needs everything.
Some people, though, their entire lives could be changed in a much better way,
like a lot of people that have talked about it in the past.
I think we're close.
I think we're close.
I do. Yeah, maybe. What do you think,'re close. I think we're close. I do.
Yeah, maybe.
What do you think, AJ, over there in Ohio?
Ohio, yeah, passed recreational.
It's not there.
You haven't opened up yet, but yeah, they passed recreational.
So where we are in Indiana, Michigan, recreational and medicine.
Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky.
Who's the holdout in Indiana?
Kentucky about to pass.
You know.
Mayor?
No, no, no.
No, no, no.
Governor?
Governor?
Well.
There's a lot of hardworking, okay, Americans.
That's right.
In Indiana.
And those hardworking Americans love America.
Love it.
Love this country.
Love what it stands for.
Don't think it's perfect, but hey, this is America.
So I think their first impressions of what marijuana potentially was,
was of a group of people that were like, America's the worst.
I don't, you know, like the hippies.
So I think in their minds, it's like.
As the generations keep coming,
it's a very, very different mindset towards it.
But then they get a little jolly rancher
that has a little extra sauce from one of their grandkids.
And they're like, something's wrong.
I'm about to feel a little bit.
My knees are moving a little bit better.
Oh, we drugged you.
What drug?
Weed. That hippie! Yeah, well, huh? Huh? I didn drugged you. What drug? Weed.
That hippie!
Yeah, well, huh?
Huh?
Huh?
Huh?
I didn't smoke it.
I still didn't smoke it.
I still didn't.
I would never.
I would never.
I ate it.
I think we're getting close.
Good for us.
Good for America.
Hell yeah.
Hell yeah.
Not for everybody.
Not for everybody, obviously.
All right, let's get the fuck out of here.
Not a bad little Wednesday here.
No.
Great.
Shout out to Sticks.
Mm-hmm.
Everybody watching the Big 12 Combine?
Without a doubt.
Dan Wade.
Might find the next, you know, hidden gem.
Yeah.
Guy who had one catch six years might make it to the NFL
because of the Big 12 Combine.
Exactly.
One catch six years.
Why are you laughing at this guy's face?
He's going to make it.
What if it was 2019 when he made that catch too?
Just keeps coming back.
He might just go to XFL.
They got it drafted.
Oh, yeah.
There you go.
UFL.
UFL.
Starts soon.
Right?
First game, right?
United Football League.
I saw Destroying look so cool in his uniform.
He had a Brahma uniform he was on there.
I think AJ McCarron's back in there, too.
I believe so.
He left to go back. What team is Mr. Beast on? He was on the Buc think AJ McCarron's back in there too. I believe so. He left to go back.
What team is Mr. Beast on? He was on the Bucs earlier.
Mr. Beast?
Yeah, remember he ran out with the Bucs.
He was in full uniform. Tampa Bay.
I didn't see Mr. Beast in a uniform.
I think he had a jersey,
pants, no pads. Is he doing a
$5 million game show?
I thought I saw that, yes.
I mean, this happened so long ago, I'd assume.
What?
What are you talking about?
I don't lie.
That's not necessarily true either.
Look at that.
Sorry about it.
Baker's getting pumped up behind him.
Baker's locked in.
He had a contract to get a good game.
Jensen.
No wonder Jensen suited up that day.
Freaking Mr. Beasley.
I would have said, I don't need the game pants.
Give me a pair of shorts, please.
Is that what you would have said?
That's why you're not Mr. Beasley.
Yeah.
You're right.
You're right.
I mean, he's laughing.
You're right.
I mean, I remember Chris Angel.
You remember?
He buried himself alive for like two weeks. He buried himself alive.
So, yeah, this guy, much respect. Yeah, Mr.
B's much respect. The business
model that this dude had created is phenomenal.
Ever since he's a teenager, obviously, he has
beat the game. I think he has like a five or
ten million dollar game show he's currently
in the middle of. I think he's signed with Amazon, right? Yeah.
I mean, he is, this dude,
but also, the way you feel about putting
pants on is how most people that play football, I think.
Because when it's full pads days, as opposed to just shells days, what's the difference?
Oh, we got to put our pants on.
Everybody hates putting the fucking pants on.
So whenever we see like Chris Angel, he feels like the pants are.
It gets like a celebration almost for Mr. Beast put on the pants
Where every football person
Baker's running behind him like
Why the fuck did that guy want to put these pants on
The pants are a little tight, a little uncomfortable
Keep the kit and caboodle in place which is good
But that is a big
Helmet too, not putting a helmet on, good play
They didn't make Mr. Animal next to him
Put pants on
I think it was Carl
Carl Beast No, I don't think it was the same last time Good play. Good play. They didn't make Mr. Animal next to him put pants on. His name's Carl.
That's Carl. Who?
Oh, Carl.
Carl Beast.
Carl likes Carl.
No, I don't think he's the same last name.
Is that Carl from Walking Dead?
Is that who?
That one looks like him.
I don't see that.
I don't see that.
How about this over here?
Team content in tights, full knee with camera.
Yeah, cleats.
Yeah.
Cleats on.
I mean, no, no cleats, but athletic.
Definitely with tights on down there.
Is that a headband?
Headband or a bandana.
And he's got a fanny pack around there.
He does have, like, turf shoes.
He's probably wearing a cup, too.
Think about the videos that this fucking guy is going to make.
That guy's serious.
Oh, my God.
That guy's a beast.
Thrash coming up in slow-mo as they're running out.
Thank you for your service.
How about him going into the equipment manager saying,
I need some tights today.
I'm fucking going.
We got Mr. Beast and Carl here.
I'm fucking wide open.
Hey, John Cena is a great actor.
I finished that movie.
Yes, thank you.
That was a conversation yesterday on the plane.
A lot of people talk about big meathead doofuses in Hollywood.
And it's like normally just play a role.
And then Ty's like, first shoot, John Cena is a great actor.
He is.
He really is.
What does that mean?
What does that mean whenever you say that?
Like, I think a lot of people look at it and, you know, like The Rock is always kind of playing the same character.
Like, he's a big time movie star. movie star, but Cena is willing to do whatever.
I could legit see Cena 10 years from now or maybe even sooner
winning an Oscar for some dramatic role.
He takes the craft very, very seriously.
He's got chops.
He does.
He has chops.
It was a great comedy role for him, though,
which is very tough to do in movies,
to be a comedic actor.
Honestly, I was impressed.
Self-deprecating, will-do-anything,
which I feel like a lot of people in his position did.
We saw it at the Oscars.
Exactly.
That's like the Peacemaker show.
It's funny, but there are some serious aspects to that,
and he's fantastic.
Congrats, John.
Maybe John.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's get to a break for about 20 hours or so.
A.J., great seeing you yesterday live in person.
Hell, yeah.
It was fun.
It was a fun trip.
It always is a fun trip, but, yeah, I had a good time.
Kaboli, I love that guy. Kaboli had a great performance I've heard a lot of people say that
kaboli's their new favorite I mean your teeth looked amazing yes they did you need to know that
you know I did oh thank you I gotta get my I gotta get the rest of them done the bottom
good luck is that how that goes you just do the whole top for me at least I mean my yeah yeah
it's been years in the making
but yeah they look really good especially with the tan yeah i mean you you had your teeth on
the show yesterday till it's caboli kid no no one can compete with caboli we know that you said he
had three cargo pockets on his left leg on his left leg on the right side he had a zipper one
that was hidden so he's actually four on the right side, left leg. It was insulated.
It was an insulated pocket for the subs.
Well, he had zippered one, and then he had one on the outside of it as well.
So it's like pocket on top of pocket.
That's cargo inception.
Yeah.
And that's when you're really hiding drugs.
Mm-hmm.
Oh.
Or sandwiches.
Yeah.
Or I think he had like 12 cans of Diet Dew in there that he was just hauling around.
He had Vernors.
He already drinks Vernors.
They didn't have any there.
Here's me and AJ helping him out.
Very nice of us to do this, obviously.
You're right.
I don't know why he was selling it that way.
Why did you do this?
He was having a good time.
Yeah.
Oh, no.
This is fun.
It wasn't easy with that carpet and the chairs.
No, not at all.
We were literally in a conference room, and people were wondering.
My wife asked me, she said, so what was that room like?
I'm like, you literally saw it.
We just put a –
Great room.
There's not that much space behind us.
There was about six feet on the other side of that cameras
where Foxy and Zito and Gumpy and Bruce were all lined up.
And then every word that was said in that room, in the hallway behind it,
and in 10 other rooms, we could hear in the room.
Exactly.
It was echoing through our room.
So it was great.
I enjoyed it.
Yeah, it was awesome.
Could hear who was coming before we even saw them.
For sure.
Down the hallway.
I watched Schultzy stare at me for two hours.
Yep.
He came out throwing up shots.
Yeah.
Volume shooter.
I can see Arizona Dennis.
You guys want to hear about him?
Top 30 visits?
I got him.
I got him.
He's the only one that said the Cardinals are going to trade out.
Let's get to a break.
Okay.
Shout out to Schultz.
Shout out.
And his dad.
Yeah.
Howie.
Great story. He learned. He his dad. Yeah. Howie.
Great story.
He learned the origin story of Starbucks.
And also, the olive oil is in everything now.
What do you mean?
You're welcome.
Because Schultz told the story about his dad being in Japan,
selling the new olive oil espresso or coffee for Starbucks because they bought some olive oil farm in Sicily or something
I forget the entirety of the story this morning I was watching the today show my
wife watches the today show a lot of olive oil products like olive oil is
becoming a part of like everything yeah that's why we wake up we put on our hair
we put on our face you know it's good for you everything you do that yeah how
long you been doing that 10 12 years beginning of time my friend
You have been putting olive oil yeah, I never heard that once from you
Yes, we don't like to share our soon as you graduate college. They give you a big bottle and say here's our secret
That's just offensive to do anything defensive to who the Italians why I'm Italian so well that doesn't matter
That's not how it works. It is how it works
They're putting it oil on everything.
It's like that Argon oil run.
Yeah.
The nuts.
Move over, nuts.
Well, that's a cheap imitation.
Yeah.
It was out before you guys.
I don't think so.
The secret was out.
Some cultures are better at keeping secrets than others.
So just so I know, you guys have held back for our entire lives.
What do you think?
You guys have been putting olive oil on your face.
What do you think gets the shine, okay, in the hair?
I'm not getting into this.
I'm not getting into this.
There's a lot of things that could be said right now,
and I'm not doing it.
What could you say?
What are you thinking, AJ?
I honestly don't know.
I don't know.
Okay, why don't you say it to Hadley's face then,
if you're going to say it?
Is that the dancer?
Yeah.
Yeah.
The tiny dancer. I still don't know if he's even Italian. dancer? Yeah. The tiny dancer.
I still don't know if he's even Italian.
Jesus.
What's his last name?
Padlini.
His mom's about to just
probably walk over here
with Big Rich.
You're dead, Tony.
Ex-communicado.
Good luck.
You better take your olive oil, pal.
I heard all the Italians are going to stop giving you olive oil now.
Pure cold pressed olive oil is high in, okay, which can be, okay, for some people.
This means that it can potentially clog pores and lead to acne breakouts by blocking the skin's natural function.
If you have acne prone skin, it's best to use a diluted form of olive oil or avoid it altogether.
This is classic big media trying to bring
down the Italians.
Well, no, no, no.
For some people, I mean, if you have
a certain percentage of Italian
in your blood, you're not one of those people.
If you're pouring olive oil into
your hands and wiping on your face,
you deserve to have acne all over your face.
That's what this guy just said they're doing. No, you pony let's get to a break the italians are figuring it out
and we appreciate them for that
that's it but there you go just don't be intermittent fasting boys i heard that's
gonna kill me jesus oh now they're attacking that every new new four days, I open my phone and my algae's like, hey, remember what you do?
Yeah.
Heart attack.
Dead.
Hope you're happy.
It's like, is there another reason people are dying
and they're trying to blame it on other things that everyone's doing?
That's for tomorrow.
That's a good tease.
Good tease.
That's a good tease for tomorrow's show.
Well, tomorrow.
All right.
Be your friend.
It's the first annual Kendrick Perkins Thursday.
Oh, my God.
That was supposed to happen last week, maybe a couple weeks before that.
We don't know if that's true.
We'll see.
We do not know.
Tomorrow's like Christmas morning.
It is.
Yeah.
You going to get what you want?
We'll see.
I hope so.
All right, Pac, what's next for Pac-Man Jones?
What's next for me is Mary Jane, baby.
April 19th?
Yeah.
Are we making more music still?
Yeah, we make music every night.
Let's go.
How long does it take to do one song normally for you?
It depends.
Most of the time, I already be done listening to the beat.
I do a lot of listening when I'm driving back and forth,
but I could do probably two songs every other night if not getting burned out you're just enjoying
it right yeah like that's the whole process and then if you find something okay we got something
yeah good for you man happy you found that I got something though you found something 100%
of the time I come out with something I don't have too many songs like shift up i got probably 30 songs that no
one have heard of and they're all going to be released soon they will become something yeah
got it okay let's keep killing it we're enjoying watching the ride all right we're out of here
we'll be back tomorrow be a friend tell a friend something nice it might change their life we're
in this thing together team on me team on three one two three goodbye
