Hello beautiful people and welcome to our humble abode, the Thunderdome, on this wide open Thursday, July 18th, 2024.
This program starts now!
Now is the time to celebrate the oldest golf tournament in the world.
Ladies and gentlemen, the 152nd British Open has officially teed off and began at about 1am
this morning here in Eastern Standard American time. And ladies and gentlemen, an American is
in the lead. Roll Tide. Justin Thomas is currently leading the 152nd British Open over there. Roll
train. And obviously this is a massive one. Tiger Woods is playing. He's feeling good. I saw John
Daly smoking some cigarettes.
He's a previous winner.
You got all the dogs golfing.
Brooks Koepka's out there bogey, bogey, then four straight birdies.
Allegedly the course has been kicking people's ass,
but this is one of those big ones where everybody's playing.
So we should be in for a great weekend of golf balls and golf sticks.
Now, DeSham Bro was on his way to about a 20 over this
morning. Hopefully, he'll be able to figure it out, but we're excited that the golf is
going to carry us at least for the next four days. Also, conversations about everything
happening around the sports world. So much so, we're even going to be talking flag football
today. The championships are right around the corner. The NFL flag championships are
carried around the corner. Peyton Manning will be joining us in about 14 minutes to talk about that.
Receivers, Omaha,
you name it. And
it should be an incredible day. I also
believe there'll be a man who has an
incredible accent joining us in the second hour.
David Fetty.
Once came fourth in the British Open.
Obviously, he's the live golf commentator
from Ireland. This tournament's in Scotland.
Couldn't find any golf people from Scotland to join the show.
David Faggity from Ireland.
Similar.
We know very different countries.
And then within Ireland, there's even.
But I'm just saying, you know, we're doing.
We can't wait for that in the second hour.
Hopefully, he'll learn us up a bit.
The Talks at Table is here at Boston Connor, at Ty Schmidt.
Con man, you came in here today and you were like,
I'm not even going to say what I want to say
about NCAA 2K college
football at 25. I'm not even going to get into it.
Did you play all night? Is your team there?
And I want to let you know, I had a chance
to play yesterday. Garrett Green is not
going to get tackled one time next season.
That's what my research has shown me. Everybody's telling me
these 2K numbers are supposed to be legit.
They're supposed to be the most realistic game that college
football has had in some time.
I play with Garrett Green as West Virginia.
Taking on Penn State now, there's a lot of shit you've got to do before you get to play the game.
There's so many options and things, and there's just so many buttons you've got to push
before you get to this moment of Garrett Green going for 80 yards with a juke,
a missed tackle, a stride out, and a celebration that all of Morgantown could see
and feel and hear.
And then that was about it for me.
I was about done with the game at about that point because these thumbs are not great.
Are you still playing?
Are we still bought in?
And that is a lot.
Yes.
That's a lot.
Yes, it is.
You've got to make a decision to make a decision to get to a point where you can maybe make
a decision.
Well, you can't make that decision because that recruit actually don't like you anymore that's right because you threw two picks
last game so that person's out you're not gonna be able to recruit them you're gonna have to go
find somebody else in whatever the portal and then maybe you'll be able to take a snap and then when
you get in there what button does what you have no idea there's op i have a trigger finger button
down here now all of a sudden in speed it was too much i'm way behind the eight ball because i didn't
play growing up but i could see how those of you who understand all of this shit that is on the screen all of the
so much shit r1 to play type r1 the personnel r1 there's a play clock happening oh yeah oh yeah
there is seemingly 7 000 plays there's options've got to do this before the snap.
Hold this while the snap's happening.
Aim here. Hold this down this long.
When it gets to this point, hit this one.
Hang on to it. As the arrows go,
I want to get to the top. Can't get too close to the top.
It's going to go to the bottom, and then you're going to be done.
And then whenever you throw it, well,
the defense, that guy's fast. You've got to know he's fast.
Before you snap, you've got to know he's a 92.
How the hell was I supposed to know? Well, you've got to hold R2. When you hold R2, it comes out. It's like so much shit. Okay?
I don't know how you gamers do it, but I can see how you'd love that game.
I felt like I was GG running Wild Brother myself. In my palm,
I was Garrett Green. As we're running down the sideline in Morgantown,
I reminded myself of running 110s in a summer workout, and I'm like, look at GG peacocking down there.
He did get a little exhausted.
I think his little R2 ran out.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He ran out.
We need to get a little bit more into conditioning.
Garrett Green from my research.
But that was awesome.
I had a blast for about, what was that, like 55 minutes I was on there?
Played about four minutes a game. Sure, yeah.
That was, you know, to get into there.
That was a great time.
Are you still playing?
And how do we feel about the game? Oh, yeah, I'm still playing. I'm playing too much,
you could argue. I wouldn't go that far, but no, having a great time. Dutch Danger and the Utah
Utes, we have made it to the college football playoff. We got the 1C. We are in the semis going
up against Texas A&M. Congratulations. Huge win in the quarters. Jalen Milrow won the Heisman,
so I will be, in fact, betting on that at ESPN Bet, hopefully.
And also, you know, as much as pressure I've been putting on the boys,
I feel like it's kind of seeped into my own brain.
I had a dream last night that I was late for a game, and I woke up in a panic.
So I don't know.
You, as in Coach Dutch Danger, the 5'4", 280-pounder?
No, no, me as a third-string middle linebacker.
I woke up, forgot my helmet, had to go back to my dorm room, grab it,
almost missed the bus.
It was actually a nightmare.
But, no, the game is still fantastic.
As it's progressed, there is a lot.
I was telling the guys here, going into Bama in the Sugar Bowl,
Millrow guarding the runs
a lot. You basically have to
pinch the D-line. You've got to roll the backers over the top.
That's what I'm saying. There's so much you've got to do.
You've got to do a lot of things to win a game
in that. To your point about Gigi,
I don't think I've ever seen a quarterback
break as many
tackles, get out of as many
sacks as I saw you yesterday
playing. Unfortunately for the West Virginia team,
Mitt and Bruce took over, gave up 21 points,
and we couldn't really come back from that loss.
But, no, it's still a fantastic game.
2K got it right.
I'm glad that, you know, we got the deluxe version.
You're not allowed to do that, right, because you're an actual gamer?
I'm saying I've caused quite a stir here.
Well, how?
I mean.
Well, it's either one or the other is what I was told.
The one was the one that everybody liked and played
and was excited about. The other one is the new one that took
over and changed its name.
Everyone who actually has played this calls it NCAA
football. That's not the name. It's college
football 25. You can call it
NCAA 2K
football 2025.
You can call it that. That's kind of the name.
Everyone's calling it a different name.
But college football is back.
That's basically what we're getting to here.
And then we got the media days, which
SEC media days, is that
two weeks long? Is it SEC media month?
Yes. It's like the RNC.
That seemingly has been happening.
And that's what you were talking about.
We brought up the Chrisley family.
Todd Chrisley of Keeping Up with the Chrisleys
or Chrisley's is Always Right
or, you know,
the one that happened on USA, which I was a fan of.
I watched. I guess he actually got
14 years in jail.
So it wasn't like eight or something like that.
He probably did eight for good service
or good time or whatever.
I don't know how it all works because
I think two days equal one one for my understanding watching documentaries and locked up abroad and uh 60
days in and all the jail stuff that i watch just to remind myself that we don't want to go to jail
you know we don't want to do that that's certainly what we don't want to ever end up doing um i think
you get two days for everyone for good time serve especially if you're in that particular situation okay now i don't know which jail he's in or whatever he's doing but uh
gumpy brought up his daughter the reason why he brought up his daughter it wasn't like she did
something on the internet she spoke at that the rnc she did that was on every channel yeah did
you know i didn't know that was happening it was just promo after promo after promo after story, very, very serious.
I'd never watched one of those.
I did not know what that was.
Because I think Dana is obviously going to be putting on a show of layout there.
Not just Dana.
Yeah.
The Hulkster speaking tonight.
That's what I'm saying.
So what is this?
I did not know this thing existed.
It's just like, so I assume the other political party will be doing the same thing at some point.
But it was like every channel was broadcasting this thing.
And it was just like promo after promo after promo.
And it was like, damn, I didn't know this was how this worked in this entire thing.
So the Democratic side will have another one of those.
Dana White and Hulk Hogan are today.
And I believe Kid Rock is wrapping things up tomorrow.
What about 50?
I heard 50 Cent was making an appearance
at this thing. What a wild scene
that was. But anyways, Chris Lee's daughter talked.
That's why Gumpy won.
It's Radio Row Super Bowl
for the politics
world. That's how I view it.
For one side of the politics.
Yeah, exactly. They both get one.
Which is kind of cool. I'm just as pumped for the other
one as I was for this one.
They show who they're putting out there.
Like, the Democratic side, we've seen a lot of people that I know
that are publicly Democratic.
It's like, if they put this variety show together, like,
and this speaker show together, that thing could really,
we could be looking at some really strong entertainment.
Oh, yeah.
I didn't know this existed.
This is, like, good for downtown.
Hey, hold on.
Breaking news.
Man sitting in for one half of the hammer.
Done.
Cowboys.
Tony Diggs.
He's Bruce Brown, who is a, I don't even know what you call yourself on Hammerdown.
What you are is incredibly hot on MLS betting, I guess, alongside Bubba Gumpino.
But we officially have an NFL quarterback, helmet on person, walking onto a football
field with team for training camp.
CJ Stroud, Houston Texans on field practicing.
We are officially on the road to the Lombardi.
That team right there is stepping onto that field after hearing a speech from D'Amico Ryans that says,
Hey, our journey to becoming world champions starts on that field today.
That has already taken place.
That means we are officially in NFL season.
That means we are officially on the road to the next Lombardi.
We are officially back.
Congratulations and thank you to the Houston Texans
getting all this extra time to work in before everybody else.
That's right.
Good luck, boys.
We appreciate that.
For the Colts.
So we'll be talking to Peyton Manning in a matter of moments.
We'll see how he feels about that whole situation.
Knock to the signs.
You see all the storm clouds kind of gathering there?
A little ominous for the first day.
Yeah, but it probably keeps it cool, you know, because down in Houston, real hot.
Kind of blessed, but it's hot.
Yeah, real hot.
We get a nice big storm, and then afterwards, the humidity down there.
Yeah, but I think that's just like standard operating procedure.
Yeah, you're right.
Because here in Indiana, it gets hot and humid.
And then like if there was an overcast day for practice,
boys were pumped.
Yeah.
Everybody was pumped.
Like, hey, you see that?
It's only going to be like 84 today.
And it's going to be like, you know, kind of not the sun just going.
One of those days, I don't know how they do it.
And I think that's why the Saints started going up to West Virginia.
And like these teams started traveling.
And you got a lot of teams practicing together. and i think it might have started with a couple
teams doing it now like everybody is seemingly doing it everybody but two yeah yeah yeah it was
never like that it used to be like only two teams are doing that now it's completely flipped because
the coaches and scouts and the gms know that they can simulate a preseason game in practice like 15
straight times with the exact players that they wanted to happen in the exact situation that they can simulate a preseason game and practice like 15 straight times with the exact players that they want to happen in the exact situation that they want it to happen so these
joint practices i don't think players necessarily love them if you're at the bottom of the roster
it's a good spot to be in because now you got two gms two scouting departments two coaches
watching you practice but if you're one of the guys on the team it's like ah they're gonna make
us go actual 100 here where in preseason games we we get one time down the field, and then we're off.
But in practice, it's like preseason game on Monday, preseason game on Tuesday, preseason game on Wednesday.
Okay, we'll take the day off.
Now you've got a game on Friday.
This is the actual game.
Let's put the uniforms on.
And all the people that actually worked in practice aren't going to play.
It's going to be for the other guys.
But it's like down in the South, I would
assume they would want to be getting out of there
as much as possible. Houston's no
joke. Especially summer.
I guess that adds to the weaponry of it all.
But the Houston Texans had a lot
to prove this year and they're on the field officially.
That's big news for all of us, Ty.
Yeah, without a doubt. Like you said,
we're saying, hey, listen,
seven weeks until the NFL is back.
As of today.
Today.
When you frame it like that, it's like, okay, wow,
it really is right around the corner.
It really doesn't feel like the Super Bowl was that far away,
but we are smack dab in the middle of it.
Now, granted, it is still about two months away,
but any time you start seeing this kind of stuff, it's real now.
I mean, again, we always talk about it.
We get excited right now, and then it's kind of like you have to still
waft through all the bullshit.
The preseason isn't going to be as exciting to us when we're watching it
as it is right now, like the thought of having games.
But being able to see your favorite team back out there
and some of the new guys suiting up and everything, it's very exciting.
We always talk about it.
Everyone feels like they can win the Super Bowl right now.
I'll tell you what.
Every fan base, except for maybe the Patriots fans.
I don't know about that.
And the Giants after watching.
I feel pretty good right now.
Okay.
I love that.
I mean, I love where you're at.
Coach is undefeated.
Never lost a football game.
Neither has our quarterback.
You're right.
That's a good point.
I mean, there's a lot of people.
I mean, I don't know.
You tell me. Is that good? Ownership won all those Super Bowls, too. Yeah. right. That's a good point. I don't know. You tell me.
Is that good?
Ownership won all those Super Bowls, too.
Yeah.
Boom.
So there you go.
Exactly.
We got vets up front, and we got a brand-new undefeated coach.
Vibes are high right now.
You can do exactly what you need to do.
Yeah, every team at this moment thinks that they can go on a run, though.
If this works out, if this works out, if this team has this potential situation
and we're able to stay on track, we're able to do it,
that's why it's the most beautiful time of the year.
Now, right now we have to celebrate something that's taking place, though,
and that's the oldest golf tournament on earth.
To give us an update on the leaderboard, ladies and gentlemen,
noted New York football giant fan, Bruce Brown.
Bruce, what's going on at the Royal Troon at the 152nd British Open?
Justin Thomas is still up top at 300.
Roll Tide!
All right, JT.
He has been joined in the lead by Shane Lowry, Irishman.
Oh, really?
Meet.
At 300.
He's through eight, so he might take maybe a two-shot lead if he has a nice back nine.
Now, this is the Lynx course, right?
We got very deep bunkers.
We got long.
You got to be able to hit it on the ground.
But if you get into the thick stuff, it's problematic.
And they're saying some players are good at this, some players are bad at this.
I assume Lowry is really good at this type of stuff.
Yeah, you would think so.
It is different to St. Andrews where St. Andrews is super wide and the greens are massive.
Troon is tighter and the greens are much smaller.
But that weather,
that easterly wind or whatever it is,
the rain.
Yeah, you guys.
Absolutely.
You started to dance outside your sweet spot.
Xander Shoffley there too.
Two under through nine.
Brooks had a bogey on the ninth hole.
He dropped a stroke and it's sort of
that heater as he turns to the back.
Yeah, that's kind of who we have.
A lot of people in the barn already.
One guy withdrew on the court because he was in the rough.
He basically hit a shot and said, all right, never mind.
I'm done.
I'm not playing anymore.
Sighted a back injury.
Bad back.
Bad back, he said.
This guy walks right off the course? Yep. All right, I'm out. I'm not doing this. Excited a back injury. Bad back. Yeah. Bad back, he said. This guy walks right off the course?
Yep.
All right.
I'm out.
I'm not doing this.
It's cold.
It's rainy.
It's cold.
It's rainy.
I hate this country.
Get me home.
Am I doing this for how many more days?
No way.
No chance.
All right.
Are you going to walk?
Yeah.
I'm going to walk out of here.
I'm going home.
Yeah.
I've decided it's over.
Now the back hurts.
Rules expert.
What are you thinking? Yeah. I fucking hate it. That's what I've decided to walk out of here. I'm going home. Yeah, I've decided it's over. Now the back hurts. Rules expert. What are you thinking?
Yeah, I fucking hate it.
That's what I've decided it is.
It sucks.
The rain, the whole thing.
Yeah, I'm going to go hop on along.
Yeah.
I'm out of here.
Go to the beach somewhere.
I've heard it's beautiful over there.
Oh, yeah.
I've heard it's a wonderful time.
Now, the weather, obviously not, but I've heard people, obviously, everybody understands
how massive this is.
152nd British Open.
Crazy.
Oldest golf tournament in the world.
We saw some beautiful spectators earlier.
Yes.
A lot of costumes.
There's a lot of things happening.
And it's a beautiful thing.
We appreciate the hell out of it.
Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen,
is a man who his voting to go into the Hall of Fame,
I think, lasted like six seconds or seven seconds or something like that.
Yeah.
Obviously a Mount Rushmore quarterback in the history of the NFL.
An incredible businessman as well.
And, ladies and gentlemen a man who is uh taking on ownership of a flag football championship
for the nfl ladies and gentlemen friend of the program stud peyton manning
hey how you doing brother ah you're muted we can see you we can't hear you you know we can use it
Ah, you're muted.
We can see you.
We can't hear you.
You know, we can use AI, though.
You know, we can use AI to do lip reading.
Oh, oh, oh.
You good?
Turn that thing sideways.
Turn that phone sideways.
Is it sideways?
Can we hear me?
Oh!
There it is.
Apple, Apple!
We're in a good spot, baby.
We did that thing.
Turn that son of a bitch sideways.
Let's go ahead and get going.
Congrats to your Tennessee team.
Congrats to the Tennessee baseball team.
Obviously, we saw you and the governor, the mayor, Morgan Wallen,
the entire squad.
Hypel was out there celebrating, enjoying Omaha.
How was that?
That was the last time we saw you on TV.
You were having a blast doing that, I assume.
That was awesome, Pat. I've been to Omaha the past several years.
They always have youth baseball tournaments around the College World Series.
My son's been playing in them, so it's pretty cool when you can watch your son play in the morning and go watch your alma mater play at night.
To see them win it all, Tony Botello was voted National Coach of the Year.
I saw that today.
Awesome moment for the Tennessee volunteer family,
and we hope there's many more national championships to come.
Hey, did you stop by?
What was that bar they said where everybody's buying the charity Jell-O shots?
Yeah, the Jell-O shots.
Did you stop by there?
Rocko's.
I did not, actually.
But I felt like our Tennessee faithful covered, you know,
we beat LSU's record last year.
So, Tennessee was well represented in the Rockos.
Okay, good news.
I'm happy to hear that because once we heard about the record and everything,
I actually just projected publicly that Peyton will go in there and buy.
I spent your money for you, Rockos.
So I'm happy to hear that it kind of all worked out.
Okay, let's talk about receivers.
Obviously, Omaha Productions, season two, first season was quarterbacks.
Second season was receivers. We got a chance to watch it during the break. Obviously,
anytime we as football people get inside access to football stories and more football stuff,
we're going to love it. How'd you feel about the receivers edition of the program and what are
your thoughts going forward? It was awesome, Pat. And I really appreciate Justin, Devontae,
Debo, George, and Aminrod
kind of giving us that access, right, taking viewers behind the scenes
of what it's really like to play receiver in the NFL,
just how smart you have to be, how much you have to study film like a quarterback,
how tough you got to be to get and hit across the middle,
how much rehab these guys put in to get healthy,
to get back on the field like Jefferson did.
So, look, I've always known that. I've had great respect for receivers because of the guys that in to get healthy, to get back on the field like Jefferson did. So, look, I've always known that.
I've had great respect for receivers because of the guys that I've played with, Marvin,
Reggie, Demarius, Emmanuel.
These guys work so hard.
I saw it every day.
I'm not sure everybody else realized just what it takes to be a receiver.
So I thought it came out great.
Those guys had a great experience.
Look, it started with quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, Marcus, let us do it.
Patrick goes to the Super Bowl, wins the MVP.
I think that kind of ended the idea that these follow documentaries were distractions, right?
That's just not true.
Kaitlyn Clark and Kiki Rice and Camila Cordoza let us do it for full court press for women's basketball.
Kaitlyn and Camila go to the national championship, right?
So I think that part's
got to be over with and i think it's just cool for the viewer to go behind the ropes in different
fields to see what it's really like yeah and we appreciate you utilizing and you're peyton manning
so i know that to you it's like i'm just i'm dead you know like that whole shit but like you're
peyton manning okay we all understand that you're that so you presenting these things to people you're going to get a much more likely chance of saying yes so us as sports
fans I would like to represent us and say thank you for garnering and getting us all of this access
because there's some incredible moments from season two of receivers that I don't think a lot
of us would ever understand you're talking about the workload you're talking about the hangout you're
talking about the business stuff that's taking place you're talking about following the stories like
our show was in there shout out to you guys for putting our show in there a lot but like
players following the stories throughout the year it's like no we think these things but like
getting the actual access to do it there's not a lot of people that can do it so we appreciate you
kind of utilizing your opportunities and making it happen legitimately well i appreciate that and
like i said look i'm all for growing the game.
I think if this brings more interest to the game, that's a good thing.
Netflix, you know, people are watching this show all over the U.S.,
outside the country.
And, you know, NFL Films obviously is the best partner to help, you know,
make these things happen and the trust they have with the players
and the coaches.
So, yeah, really proud of how it came out
and hoping to do another season next year, Pat.
We're still kind of trying to decide what positions to do.
Punters are in play.
They're in play.
I'd say not super high on the list, you know,
compared to maybe some other positions, but we'll see.
I was proud of the way receiver came out.
Everybody says, you know, you you got to just do quarterback again.
It was cool to do a different position.
Yeah, and I mean, I think humans matter.
You know, the position group, certainly it's good to learn about,
but the humans matter.
We were brainstorming for you guys the other day,
if you were to continue to move down the path of going to a different position,
like D-line, defensive end, because you and I both know,
defensive line rooms.
Different room, different breed oh awesome those rooms are you weren't able to do it because obviously you're working every time you're in a football room i had a lot of downtime you
know so i go ahead and i just poke the head into the d-line room it's like what the conversation's
happening in there obviously we're curing the world's problems but also the amount of shit talk and everything and then you think about the superstars that are in
the dn outside linebacker pass rush that could be a cool thing to kind of learn about and you know
i think a lot of humans or football fans will learn about the chess game that's being played
by pass rushers as opposed to just the oh i'm an athlete and get moving you have a lot of
opportunity you guys are gonna do a tremendous job telling the story we cannot wait to watch the stats i believe on the receivers thing was
number one on netflix for like four days oh yeah hey let's go that's box office baby
that's like box office nowadays that's a big deal payton thank you pal hey no problem especially we
appreciate it because uh you know netflix is getting into live WWE money. What? And live NFL money.
What?
So you just keep on hammering NFL stuff home.
Okay, Sheriff.
All right, let's keep doing that.
No, I'm joking.
But it does seem like it's a fantastic.
Let's talk about the NFL flag championships that are taking place.
Obviously, next Olympics, flag football will be a part of it which is gonna be awesome and if it's anything like our Team USA team that we put out
you know a couple weeks ago when we lost to Japan by 21 points and then we lose
to Austria that can't be happening obviously but let's talk about this NFL
flag championships I I think flag football is such a phenomenal entry
point for the sport of football I think it's a great thing to work on technique.
I think it's a great introduction to play design, talent, and I think it's made wide receivers,
DBs better in the NFL and also college and high school. Why is this something you wanted to be a
part of with Toyota and NFL and the flag championships and what should we look forward to?
Yeah, obviously kind of following the mode of the Little League
World Series. Wanted to bring that to flag football for both boys and girls. And it's
this weekend in Canton, Ohio. And partnered with the NFL and RCX and ESPN. It's another way to
grow the game, Pat. We feel like flag football is a great intro to the game for young boys and
girls. Whether they keep playing flag or they get into high school football.
However, we get them into the game and get them interested and get them involved.
That's the main idea.
And so if someone watches the flag football championships this weekend on ESPN that are in Canton, Ohio, by the way, which is a perfect site, you know, home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and says, hey, maybe I want to go out for the football team in my community.
That'd be the home run goal of it or the touchdown, if you will.
But it's going to be pretty cool for these kids to have a chance to play on national TV,
show off their skills, and try to win a championship.
Yeah, and you were coaching a flag football team, right?
I did, yeah.
I coached both my son and daughter early on in flag.
And it was kind of their first intro into football.
My son's now playing tackle.
He's in eighth grade.
Eli played flag football, Pat, all the way through eighth grade.
His first year of tackle football wasn't until he was a freshman in high school.
So however you want to get into the game, I just want you interested as a fan,
as a player, and it was just cool for Omaha to be a part of this partnership
with the NFL and RCX and ESPN.
But it's a great game.
It's a great sport.
Yeah, that is fantastic to hear.
And shout out to your boy putting the helmet on.
Hell yeah.
You know, what position?
Are we quarterback, obviously?
Are we playing defense?
Yeah, no, he we playing defense? Yeah.
Yeah, no, he's playing quarterback for sure.
And, you know, like I said, you mentioned my flag football coaching.
I was probably a better coach of our youth flag football team here in Denver than I have been in the Pro Bowl, Pat.
I'm 0-2 as a Pro Bowl coach to Eli.
You mentioned that flag football is coming to the Olympics in LA in 2028.
You hear about NFL players
sort of campaigning to be on that team.
Scary to think Lamar Jackson
and Tyreek Hill. But I'd like
to be a coach on that team.
There's no way I'm getting picked
now that Eli's beat me twice.
No, no, no. Different sport. They know it's a different sport.
They understand.
Now that you understand it, you're a guy,
your rookie year threw the most picks in history.
And then, you know, you learn the game differently.
You see it differently.
You definitely are.
Congratulations to coach of the United States flag football team
in the 2028 Olympics, Peyton Manning.
Yeah, Peyton!
Put it on the ticker.
That's awesome.
That's so cool.
Got the right one.
Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay might be more qualified.
Offense coordinator.
I'd be curious how many NFL teams let their coaches or players miss training camp
to go participate in the Olympics.
Just to add something else to Roger Goodell's play.
Yeah, Rog.
You guys like America or not?
You know?
Yeah.
Let's figure it out.
You tell us, Lynch.
You don't want Kyle Shanahan?
Oh, okay.
Oh, okay.
John Lynch hates America.
Okay.
We will remember that forever.
Let's talk about the Olympics.
You're on a boat opening night for the Olympics on that Poop River.
Don't be falling off that boat, Peyton.
Careful.
I'm actually not on the boat.
I'm with Mike Tirico and Kelly Clarkson.
We're kind of in a studio right near the Eiffel Tower
watching the athletes come down on the boats, on the sand.
I think it's going to be pretty incredible.
You know, Pat, you and I both have been in some cool tunnels before a game, right?
I mean, there's kind of that moment before the event.
You're right there in the tunnel in an NFL locker room, whatever sport it may be.
Look, I know there's no events, you know, that night,
but I would argue for these Olympic athletes, being on that boat might be the coolest pre-event tunnel of all time, right?
With hundreds of thousands of people on the banks of the Seine.
Pretty magical moment.
And, you know, I talked to Steph Curry the other day.
I've talked to different athletes.
They are not missing this opportunity
to be on that boat, to be a part
of that moment, knowing that the Olympics are here.
I'm excited just to be a witness on it.
Yeah, and we're pumped
that you're a part of it too, by the way.
Football guy being a part of the Olympic
ceremony, we appreciate you doing that
and you're going to crush it.
With that being said,
brilliant move.
That's Peyton Manning football.
You're putting me on a boat on a poop river?
I don't think so.
I'm going to go in the studio,
and let's make sure
that the United States boat,
okay, with all our athletes,
stable.
Okay, let's make sure we have a...
We don't need any topsy-turney,
ooh, we got whatever,
E. coli,
with the poop and the scent.
We need to do that.
But that is a cool night,
like watching dreams come true.
You know, a lot of those sports, Olympic sports, obviously,
that is what you've worked your entire life for.
And that ceremony is so beautiful.
They do such a good job with that every year, every time.
Yeah, it's going to be different in Paris, unlike any other place.
You're exactly right, Pat.
I mean, you know, certainly no idea what it's like to be an Olympian,
but I have an appreciation for athletes.
Look, when you get beat in a Super Bowl, as disappointing as it is,
you always can say, hey, we can come back next year, and you can.
The Olympics, it's a four-year grind to have a chance to try to get back
at the trials, right?
The trials are as competitive as the Olympics,
and the journeys these athletes that are in this year's Olympics have been on are pretty incredible.
The adversity, the injuries they've had to overcome, the patience of not qualifying for Tokyo and waiting eight years to finally get to their Olympics in Paris.
I have great appreciation and respect for all these Olympic athletes and looking forward to kind of telling those stories.
And Peyton, your work ethic was obviously absurd, and so you understand this and know this about these Olympic athletes and looking forward to kind of telling those stories. And Peyton, your work ethic was obviously absurd.
And so you understand this and know this about these Olympic sports.
You think about swim, gymnastics, track, all that shit's like 4 a.m., 5 a.m.
Like every day of their high school lives, every day of their life, that is when the
time is for all that to happen.
So you only really get a chance to win.
There's obviously other world championships
and everything, but everything is geared towards the Olympics.
For it to only be four years amount of time,
it's like, I can't wait to watch them.
I can't wait to see everything kind of,
you got to be incredibly clutch
because the amount of pressure is all on one exact moment.
Can we talk about some college football with you, Peyton?
Yeah, sure, let's do it.
Connor has a question for you.
Your answer, hey, your name, your family, your father, your brother,
your nephew, big part of the conversation.
Go ahead, Connor.
Yeah, Peyton, obviously it's SEC media day slash week now
with everything going on slash month slash entire year
just because of what the SEC is.
But with Texas coming in, Oklahoma coming in,
obviously it's going to look a little different.
Saban, you know, he said, hey, Texas isn't going to run the SEC.
And then all of a sudden he's picking Texas to play Georgia
in the SEC championship.
How do you think it's going to change kind of college football
with those two teams joining the SEC?
And then are there any wagers maybe, you know, friendly little, hey,
if Texas loses to Tennessee, you know,
Arch, you're going to have to wear my jersey for a week?
Or what's going on there, do you think, with the SEC in Texas?
No wagers there.
Eli and I always usually have some kind of something on the Tennessee-Ole Miss game.
I had to wear an Ole Miss jersey on our Monday night show a couple years ago.
That was a hard pill to swallow, losing to Eli.
But, look, I think it's going to be awesome for the Southeastern Conference.
I'm going to the Tennessee-Oklahoma game in Norman this year.
I think it's Oklahoma's first Southeastern Conference game.
They're playing my Tennessee balls in Norman, not too far from Denver.
So I think there are going to be some immediate rivalries created
with Texas and Georgia,
Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee.
It's not going to take long to create these rivalries.
Obviously, A&M Texas bringing that back, that's awesome, right?
Bringing Texas-Arkansas back, I think that's awesome.
So both those teams are going to fit right into the conference.
It made an incredibly difficult conference even harder.
So, look, my allegiances are always to the Tennessee Vols.
You see my smoky T-shirt I have on right there.
Look, I'm pulling hard for my nephew.
I'm proud of him, how he's handling himself in Texas,
and looking forward to watching him throughout his career there.
So I've always been an SEC guy.
I visited lots of places out of high school.
I went to Notre Dame.
I went to Michigan.
But my final three were kind of all SEC schools, right?
Tennessee, Florida, Ole Miss.
I knew that's the conference I wanted to play in.
My dad played in.
Eli played in.
And so I'm proud for my nephew having a chance to play in this conference.
Obviously, Jesus Christ.
Okay. Never, Jesus Christ. Okay.
Never, ever.
But it is a religion down there.
It really is.
And I think that is what I've learned through college game day the most.
Like, obviously, watch the games, the primetime games down in the SEC.
But growing up in Pittsburgh, that's an NFL town.
That's not a college town.
I go to West Virginia.
Our team, really good.
So as soon as I hear all the SEC, it's definitely SEC.
It's like, all right, Pat White will go run for 250 against you guys.
Did Georgia, did Mississippi State, did just Auburn, like he did that.
So for me, it was not like the easiest to just like understand what it is in the SEC.
Then I joined game day and I get dropped in there and it's like, holy shit.
It is different down here. It is
very much a religion. It's like, hey, generations have done this. And I think it's because there
isn't as many professional sports. The NFL maybe doesn't have as many teams. You grew up down there
in Louisiana and in SEC country. It's just different. Always has been, always will be.
And that's seemingly the message that Sankey's continuing to say too. Yeah, I agree with you, Pat. It's just not, it was fun to play at Tennessee at a place where
they were talking about it year round, right? They're talking about the recruiting class in
February, right? They're talking about how spring practice is going. I love playing at a place
where everyone cares about it, right? The players, coaches, all the fans throughout the state.
And, you know, when I went to Indianapolis to play for the Colts, that was probably the coolest thing to sort of see this transformation there in Indianapolis of becoming this football town
and state, right? You know, 1998, when I got there, Indiana basketball was huge, car racing was huge.
And to see Edger and James and Marvin Harrison and everybody kind of help turn it into a
football town, I was comparing
it to my Tennessee experience
where it was year-round. I think everybody wants
to play in a town where
it's a year-round thing. There's a real passion
for it for the fans, and there's no better passion
than in the Southeastern Conference. That's
a fact. People care, man.
That's all you want to do. You want to play in a place where people care.
That is legitimately what the goal is because that drives you a little bit
motivate you and then obviously wins and losses are what everybody's working towards and helping
your team but like whenever you're putting a community into a place of betterment with your
success it's like that is what sports are here for as you uh you froze there had a good blink
in the middle of your entire time.
Do you think there's a chance here now,
Peyton, with college football and college sports as a whole?
Because like Big Ten people just heard what you said
and they're like, in the South, it's this.
Big Ten, there's some schools in Big Ten,
not every school in Big Ten are like,
oh, shut up.
Okay, like we are, we're tired of it.
But that is really like the story.
That's becoming the story almost
in this entire thing is like Big Ten SEC conversation.
And I assume that there's a lot of pride coming from the people of the SEC because the way you hear Sankey talk about it, I just assume he is representing every human in the Southeast.
Do you see that being the future?
And how are you worried about it?
Because you just talked about how there's going to be new rivalries created with Texas.
It's like that is certainly an upside that is going to come from these changes that's
not really being talked about.
Are you worried about it as somebody who loves college ball?
Sure.
I mean, look, I want it to be competitive all the way across, right?
I don't want there just to be one conference that only, those are the only teams that fans
are caring about, right?
So, you know, we just had our football camp, our passing academy.
We had 45 college quarterbacks from all over the country.
And you kind of get to know them and you pull for all of them.
Small school guys, you know, conferences all around the country.
So, yeah, I'm a fan of college football.
College football should be different than the NFL.
There's something unique about college football.
The bands, fans traveling on the road, right? Those are unique things about college football. bands uh fans traveling on the road right
those are unique things about college football i don't want to lose that i don't want you know
colleges in different conferences in different parts of the country not to feel that passion
and not to feel like you know it's important right so hopefully some way we can figure out
where every team you know feels that importance and feels relevant. There's a place for everybody.
I think everybody's echoing the same sentiment that has a brain.
What you just said there is right on par with basically Saban saying the same thing,
all the big names in college football are all saying the same thing.
Hopefully, we'll be able to figure it out even though there's a lot to do.
Let's pivot to the NFL because you talked about Indianapolis
becoming a football town and a football community
around the winningest
decade in NFL history that you and the
boys were a part of that obviously has this
Lucas Oil Stadium thing down here. Okay, we had
a little bit of a thing. Okay. Hey,
Colts fans are back.
Colts fans are back. All right. Gardner
Minshew almost won the AFC South.
Gardner Minshew made it to the Pro Bowl.
Now we get Anthony Richardson back.
We have Shane Steichen.
Jonathan Taylor.
We got no contract disputes going on.
He's all in.
We got Pittman paid.
The defense is back.
We're going to do this.
It's all the way back in Indianapolis.
Then there's this team in Houston.
This team in Houston was supposed to be cropped.
They were supposed to be cropped.
They were supposed to be trash. They were supposed to be cropped. They were supposed to be trash.
They were supposed to be a dumpster fire forever.
Then D'Amico Ryans comes in.
C.J. Stroud, this kid, has the greatest rookie quarterback season in the history.
Should I be excited about what the Colts are doing,
or are we now living in the Houston Texans world in the AFC South,
do you think, Peyton?
You make a great point, Pat.
I mean, you know, for years, like you always wanted to be the bully in the conference, right? That was kind of our theme,
right? Let's win the division. You win the division, you have a chance to get in the
playoffs, right? That was the Patriots' motto. That was our motto all those years,
and you felt like we could. Now, the AFC South, look, it's quarterback heaven, right? I mean,
Levis, I'm a big fan of him.
Big fan of Trevor Lawrence.
He'll bounce back.
Anthony Richardson, we've got to keep him healthy, right?
When he's healthy, look out.
But I think the bully in the conference is C.J. Stroud over there in Houston, right?
He had an incredible first year.
Like, I think about my rookie year, Pat.
Like, you know, I kind of say it's so hard as a rookie.
All these interceptions. C.J.
Stroud says it's not that hard.
He went out and dominated as a rookie.
I think you're right.
I think that division kind of goes
through Houston. Obviously, D'Amico,
look, they have a target on
their backs. Everybody knows who they are.
They're not sneaking up on anybody.
They're going to answer that challenge.
It's a great division. I'm a big fan of Stroud.
I got to know him.
I coached him at the Pro Bowl this year, Pat.
Humble guy, hard worker, super talented.
Just nice to my son, nice to all the fans there.
I didn't get to know him.
He didn't come to our football camp, Pat.
He had a team commitment that he honored. And I kind of felt bad. You know, he kind of got criticized for not
coming to the camp. NFL people kind of said, hey, you were supposed to go. You didn't go.
And I kind of missed that. I probably could have come out and clarified that,
hey, he never committed to come. It was all good. So I actually apologized to him
recently about kind of the criticism he had to face from NFL teams in his combine interviews.
That was ridiculous, but I'm a big fan of him.
So yeah, look, I'm all on the Colts bandwagon, but we've got to do something about these other teams in the AFC South.
Amen, amen.
We certainly do, and that Houston city is the one that we really got to worry about.
They brought in Stephon Diggs.
They bring in Joe Mixon.
Casario seems to have a massive Italian brain.
I mean, it is.
Down in Houston, it wasn't supposed to be like this.
But we got massive respect for what they got going on.
And that Manning Passing Academy, I remember that being a conversation piece.
Oh, yeah.
Because what they were trying to do to C.J. Stroud in that draft process was absurd.
They brought out some test score.
This guy, dumbest guy ever.
Yeah.
C.J. Stroud guy. And then the the manning pass academy became a part of the storyline and it just was one thing after another now i'd assume that cj
stroud was appreciative of you saying like hey uh sorry that even became a thing because it did
obviously you didn't mean for that or know potentially that it was taking place but like
why does that happen you think and whenever you see him play the way he plays why do you think he is as good as he is
is it in between years which is exactly what they were saying he was not in the draft cycle is it
his accuracy what do you think it is exactly about him that makes him be the guy because they're
expecting him just now it's like when Patrick Rose is in like year four and they're like is he Tom
Brady or not CJ in his second year now they're like hey yeah
I won a Super Bowl dude like that's crazy that it happens that quick for this guy why is it for him
you think well and there's a lot of reasons and I can relate I told him this you know during those
combine times Pat I think NFL teams are just looking to kind of pick at you right to kind of
see I remember when I was going through the combine, the early buzz was I didn't have any upside.
I'm like, I'm 22 years old.
Surely there's some upside in here somewhere.
Surely I haven't maxed out at 22.
My neck hasn't even grown yet.
There's a lot of room to expand there.
The forehead can get bigger.
So, look, part of it.
And it did.
Hey, and it did.
That was the call.
You always notice something.
You know, Red 18.
They're going to pick at you, right?
I think they're going to see how you respond to it.
And I think if CJ probably used some of those criticisms to drive him to play even better,
hey, Houston's luckier for it.
But look, he's got a presence about him.
I mean, just kind of watching him down there at the Pro Bowl.
You know, at the Pro Bowl, it's a fun deal.
Tua was our starter.
Gardner went in.
And then I kind of said, hey, CJ, are you good with the whole second half?
And he's like, I'm good.
I want to be in there.
It's a flag game.
But you still see a competitive guy that wants to win,
that wants the ball in his hands in the fourth quarter.
That's in a flag game.
Just know what it's like in real football.
So, you know, somebody asked me about Mahomes the other day,
what made him so special.
That calm and coolness in the fourth quarter, I think Stroud has that.
Look, I'm not making this comparison right away,
but there's just something about being calm and cool in those heated moments
that serves quarterbacks well.
Nobody was better than Tom Brady when it came to that,
but I think Stroud has some of those characteristics, and I'm a big fan of D'Amico,
too, right? He coaches hard. I played against D'Amico. He was a coach on the field. That's a
pretty good combination there when you got D'Amico and Stroud, you know, kind of a two-man monster
there. Yeah, they've been very good to us. We've talked to D'Amico, we've talked to Casario, and
then Stroud actually came and saw us whenever we were down in Houston for the national championship game. And it's like everything he does is like what you want, just like the same shit for you. Like everything you did was like what you want your teammate to do. He had one of his teammates fashion lines on when he came on the show. It was like, oh, what's the hoodie you're wearing? Oh, it's like our left guards brothers.
like our left guards brothers,
like he's putting over like his company. And then like,
he's not taking any compliments.
He's like sending it other places.
Once you get back to work,
like depth,
what you're saying,
he talked to everybody,
tapped up like every camera person,
like cool though.
It wasn't like,
uh,
it wasn't like a full song and dance.
It was just like a move.
It's like everything he does is perfect,
which is why it sucks that he's at the fucking Houston Texans.
Okay. That is, that is not how it's supposed to go.
But Anthony Richardson is going to be a guy.
Last question from us, and we can't thank you enough for all your time you have given us today about the NFL
because it's kind of in your world, all things in your world.
Go ahead, Ty.
Yeah, sorry, Peyton.
Obviously, you have everything going on with the receiver.
I don't know if you've seen the clips that have come out of the new hard knocks
that's basically gone beyond the curtain with the Giants front office.
Pat mentioned how players in the NFL enjoy this part of it
because they always wonder, hey, what is the head coach and the GM and the owner,
what are they really saying about me behind closed doors?
I imagine that you were always privy to those conversations
and probably involved with them, but does it surprise you how much kind of unprecedented access
fans are getting of a conversation between a head coach, a GM, and an owner when they're
trying to construct the team? And it's typically stuff where you'd assume like,
hey, these guys don't want anyone else on the planet to know about this,
and we're getting to watch it unfold pretty much unedited every single week.
Does it surprise you where the NFL is going
with this kind of unprecedented access?
No, look, it's a great point.
I think you've got to give major props to the Giants, right,
and Joe Shane and Dable for allowing that access,
right? Joe Shane, his son's a young quarterback. He comes down to our football camps. I get to
talk to him every year. And look, that is not easy to do, to allow that access, right? And
these Saquon Barthie conversations, that's real and raw. No, the truth is I was not privy to
those conversations. I always believed in the chain of command right that look i was the quarterback of the team but
i had no business being in on any type of conversations on contracts
between other players and it's funny i actually didn't want to know
from my agent tom condon what the colts were saying about me
in the negotiations right because look that's, look. That's a smart play.
That's a smart play because I found out and I held grudges forever.
You know, because, look, I'm not, I mean, Bill Pullian,
and I take a bullet for Bill Pullian,
but I imagine in those conversations he's probably saying, you know,
he doesn't really throw that well to the left.
The deep ball, it wobbles a lot.
I'm not sure it's really worth that extra, you know, million dollars you're asking.
Like, I don't want to hear that.
Let's just block it out.
It's funny.
As soon as you sign the contract, you know, I held out for two days, Pat, in my rookie contract.
And Tom Condon's kind of sharing some of these things.
I'm like, I don't really want to hear that.
I signed my contract.
Bill Pullian drives me to training camp.
He and I are best friends.
We're hugging it out the whole time.
So I think that's good advice for all players.
You don't really need to know everything they're saying about you in those
associations.
Let's get it done, and let's go try to win a championship after that.
Yeah, that's smart because I heard the things that were said about me,
and then I was franchise tagged,
and then I got to go into the building with this guy who just cut all my
friends, including this guy. So it's like this fucking guy you know so it was uh
I think that's a great piece of information right there legitimately I think that is a nice piece of
information we try to do it here in the office one of the boys will see something that's written
terribly about like saying terrible things about me and they'll be like hey you want to hear it
I'm like not don't want to hear it I don't I don't want to hear it because I don't want to have to hate that person forever.
Like, that is how I operate.
So we just kind of move.
That's a smart play by you.
Very smart.
Speaking of, like, negotiations,
hey, you still got it at all?
These contracts, and I know you're good.
Man, just, I mean,
if Archie and Olivia could have just had us
a little bit later.
A little bit.
Hey, but you know what?
I'm for it.
I'm for it.
I'm for these guys.
I'm for that, you know, I understand older quarterbacks that, you know,
maybe didn't, but like Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana,
I mean, they paved the way for my generation.
And now if, you know, Brady and Breeze and helps Breeze and help Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert,
Lamar, I'm for it.
And just keep growing the game.
Look, we need great quarterbacks
in the league. It makes the game better. All positions
need to get better.
I am pro
current player all the way.
I'm for it. I'm excited to see what they end up doing with it.
Is there going to be a quarterback club again, I wonder?
How's the new CBA go?
Because the percentage of cap to the quarterback versus what it's going to be.
And obviously, if you have a quarterback, you got to.
That is how it goes.
I'll be intrigued to see how Roger and the NFLPA kind of move forward with that.
But money's good for everybody.
Caleb just got $39 million guaranteed, allegedly.
He hadn't signed it.
That's old CBA money for like number one overall, you know?
That's like old CBA that they thought they kind of cut back.
We're back.
We're all the way back for the rookies.
I appreciate the hell out of you, Peyton.
Appreciate it, Pat.
Thanks for having me, man.
Always fun to talk to you.
Hey, you're going to Canton.
You got a little team going in the Hall of Fame.
You're going to be there. Yeah, I'm heading over there.
So it's the same
day as SummerSlam,
which is in Cleveland. So as soon
as SummerSlam's over,
I'm coming to Canton. Perfect.
Dwight Freeney, man.
The best teammate. What a great player.
Honored to see him going in. Hey, Payton,
he was, and you were obviously a notorious
good teammate. So was Tom Brady.
So was Patrick Mahomes.
It seems like that is a trend of everybody who is good.
You have to be a good teammate because if your teammates know that you care
and that you're a part of it, it's going to work out better.
And I think you've always had – and I think Archie put that into your head too.
Like, hey, we're having beers with the boys.
We're hanging out.
We're human.
We're in this entire thing.
Freeney was making like a million
bucks a game and they weren't even playing them like after the the last year after you left and
i'd known freeney now for a little bit and it had to be eating him up inside because he would still
go on to have like another eight years of success and he was just like the consummate teammate we're
talking like getting bought water for people like doing that entire thing it's like this guy hall
of famer changed football legitimately.
Bill Belichick came out and said like, hey, we created like the chip block basically for Dwight Freeney.
And it's like the thing that I always loved about Dwight Freeney is like how good of a dude he was.
Like always just such a good dude.
So we got a good one going into Canton next weekend.
Two weeks.
Great team, Nate.
I was thankful every day of my career, Pat, that Dwight Freeney was on my team.
I didn't have to play against him.
Belichick hated Freeney.
Brady hated Freeney, which is in the ultimate complimentary way of hating someone, right?
And he just had that motor, you know, that great game against Jonathan Ogden
probably put him in the Hall of Fame where Ogden's like,
what am I supposed to do with this guy?
So happy to see Dwight get honored,
and it's going to be a special weekend there in Canton in a few weeks.
All right, well, keep it going until I get there, you know.
I've heard those things go a little late.
Let's keep that thing going until I get over there so I can at least have one drink.
I appreciate the hell out of you, brother.
Stay out of that river, ladies and gentlemen, Peyton Manning.
Yeah, Peyton!
What a legend.
Yeah, we're all pumped for Dwight, man.
Yeah, that's sweet.
That's a crazy weekend there in Ohio.
The Thursday to Sunday.
Yeah, Luke Combs in Cincinnati, Hall of Fame's in Canton,
SummerSlam's in Cleveland.
There's been potential opportunities at all of them,
so it's like trying to figure out.
Yeah, in 24 hours.
Which are good things.
Obviously, these are good things,
but definitely have to show face for Franny
for everything he's done for me.
Definitely can't miss SummerSlam.
For sure.
So the fact that they are a 40-minute drive away from each other
is the most glorious thing of all time.
Perfect.
Now, I'm going to miss some speeches,
which I'm bummed about.
Of course.
And I would like to be there for Franny
whenever he's talking,
giving him the,
hell yeah, hell yeah, you know, one of those.
But I think I'm going to be showing up at the right time.
The post.
I think that's going to be when.
That's when you're needed.
Probably why I was invited.
Why I was invited for what I'm going to exactly get there.
And it's like anytime you have somebody that you know,
your friends or your teammate going into a Hall of Fame,
that's something you've got to like, hey, hell yeah, brother, you deserved it.
Well, and also when you look at the guys you've played with,
this might be your last chance to go to one of these, right?
I mean, I don't know.
I'm trying to just think.
Vinny Terry is going to go.
Oh, well, obviously Vinny, but I mean just in the grand scheme of things,
it's not like you have all these opportunities to have.
Going into the Hall of Fame is a big deal, obviously.
Yeah.
Did Reg want in?
I think so.
Did he?
I don't know.
He should be.
That is where we are.
He should be.
He should be.
So he's been a finalist, I think, and then hasn't gone in.
So that generation that I was at the tail end of,
Mathis is probably going to get a nod at some point.
Vinatieri's going to get a nod at some point. Vinatieri's going to get a nod at some point.
It's like Saturday because of his impact to the game.
Yeah.
I don't know if Matt Overton's going to get in.
He wasn't a part of that team.
He came in with the next generation.
But there's a chance, obviously.
Saturday going in as a coach or a player.
Okay.
Both.
This guy.
This guy.
He will. Bruce, who's leading the British Open, Bruce? Okay. Both. This guy. This guy. Who's leading the
bridge over? Okay, we don't. I mean, he was on the field for
the greatest comeback in the history of the NFL. That's what
I'm saying. Yeah. Okay. Uh Justin Thomas and Shane. Thank
you. Thank you. Still at three under. Uh Kepka did get a
birdie um on ten or a on 11 to get back to two under.
Xander Schauffele is at two under as well.
But your favorite is the favorite at the beginning of the tournament as well.
Scotty Scheffler at plus 425.
Xander right behind him at plus 450.
Okay, so Scheffler's playing good.
Yeah, he's at even.
But still just the respect. That's fine. There was so Scheffler's playing good. Yeah, he's at even. But still, just the respect.
That's fine.
There was a quick flip-flop there.
Xander was your momentarily favorite.
But back to Scottie.
Yeah, well, that makes sense.
And if he's in it, you know, we haven't seen him lift the trophy in a few weeks.
I know.
It's kind of weird.
Did he lose it?
Scottie know how to golf.
You got to ask the question.
He hasn't won in basically a decade.
Seemingly, in Scottty Scheffler years,
this is one of the biggest droughts we've ever seen him have.
Truly.
Does this guy suck at golf now that he hasn't won in a couple weeks?
Let's talk about some big news out of the WNBA.
Kaitlyn Clark is exactly who we said she was.
Yeah.
Surprise, surprise.
Surprise.
19 assists last night in one game.
Shout out.
Hey, way to go.
On record.
Kaitlyn Clark.
I think there was a conversation maybe on
this show, definitely on this show
about everything that's
happening in the WNBA.
Everything.
A few times, a few months back.
This lady right here,
Caitlin Clark, and I
as a doofus said two
words at the end of a 15
minute segment that we put together that laid out
basically everything that is taking place
right now, including the Fever figuring
it out and them becoming
a team that actually wins games.
Kaitlyn figuring out the WNBA.
Kaitlyn potentially having a triple
double if there isn't missed opportunities.
Well, now her teammates are kind of understanding what it's like
to play with Kaitlyn. They're trying to figure it out.
The New York Liberty, I think they're favorites to win the entire thing.
I don't know who said that after watching them play basketball one time, boots on wood, you know, while watching this entire thing.
But the WNBA, the storylines going into this All-Star weekend where Team USA is going to be playing against WNBA All-Stars with Kaitlyn Clark coming into form completely.
Angel Reif seemingly very, very dominant as well
in living her life. Angel Reese
is on a runway
one night and then double
double the next afternoon.
Absolute rock star shit out of
Angel Reese the way she's doing it. It's like good
story, but Kaitlyn Clark is exactly who we
thought she was. And that's why we
took the show to Iowa
during the men's
college basketball tournament first day yeah to celebrate the women's college basketball tournament
because what she was doing at iowa was just absurd the amount of intrigue and interest that she's
brought to a sport is insane it's only growing and continuing and she's figured it out but i did say
two words one time in a complimentary fashion. It was not.
I learned that very quickly and loudly and abruptly.
But my intent was a compliment.
It's like she's a real deal.
And she's only getting better, I think.
And this is the new world for women's basketball.
And it's a good thing for sports, especially in this time of the year.
Yeah, without a doubt.
I mean, it's not surprising.
Because we have been talking about this for quite some time.
And then, yeah, whatever happened, happened. No, no, it happened. surprising, you know, because we have been talking about this for quite some time. And then, yeah, we, you know, whatever happened happened.
No, no, it happened.
That's on me 100%.
No, for sure.
100%.
And we're past that because you obviously had to make amends with it.
But we knew this was going to happen.
We did.
Like, just watching her play, like, you knew it was only a matter of time.
Yeah, you're going to have a little bit of, like, a hiccup because it is a new league.
And the people she's playing against are professionals.
And, obviously, they heard all of the people she's playing against are professionals.
Obviously, they heard all of the stuff that was being said about her.
So they were giving her – she was getting everyone's best shot,
still is, every single night, getting face-guarded at the opposite end's free-throw line all the way up the court.
While the person was in between shooting two shots.
Exactly.
But yeah, just took a little bit of time.
And obviously, what was it, yesterday
the WNBA signed a $2.2 billion
new media deal, so
everything's looking up for the WNBA.
And the fever.
Yeah. No, no, no. It is.
And she should be on Team USA, but that's neither here nor there.
Yeah. Angel as well.
She turns the ball over.
Okay, watch the tape. Watch the tape. She turns the ball over.
Watch the tape.
Don't read the stats. Watch the tape.
Like we were doing until I messed it all up.
Hour two on the other side with AJ Hawk and David Fattity.

We'll keep you updated on that as we chit-chat about everything happening around the sports world.
I'm not alone here. No, no. I'm at the talk show table. I have Bossa Connor and I have Ty Schmidt.
I like that little split move there. Good. Eve, what is the—
Thank you. Yeah. Actually, the reason I wore it was because of Ilya Dragunovsky. I believe he won the speed title yesterday, so I thought, you know, he is kind of the better of two people.
So I thought I'd honor him today for it.
So you're talking about Ilya Dragunov, not Dragunovsky, just Ilya Dragunov.
He's the new speed champion?
I have no idea.
As we were coming in here, I thought to myself, you know, this is, we do talk about sports.
Did Ilya Dragunov win the speed title?
Yeah, you asked yourself that, and then you didn't find the answer, and you just made the answer.
I just know if Ilya Dragunov is in the square and circle.
Is this for the title?
Yeah.
Well, does he have enough time left?
I think it's for the title.
Oh, no.
No.
It's going to be a stalemate it's gonna be a draw it's a
three minute match no he doesn't draw it's WWE speed yeah you can't count the three there if
it gets past it yeah unless he taps out it's over yeah no no no no no no no no no no no no no no
see that's the thing I'm gonna make sure this thing is fair and square which I appreciate but
you only got three minutes, he said.
You didn't do it.
I don't care what language you speak, German, Russian, or English.
Three minutes is three minutes.
So they both lose or they both win, depending upon how you want to look at it.
So what you just said was a complete lie.
That's part of the problem with this particular program.
We're going to try to get better as we move forward.
We're sitting in for one half of the hammer.
Cowboys tone digs is Bruce Brown.
Bruce, how's the British outing going
and who do we need to pay attention to?
It's going great. That's great work.
Let's join us now.
An addict in Ohio is a man
who's a college football national champion,
a Super Bowl champion, a Ryder Cup
winner, former president of Ohio.
Ladies and gentlemen, A.J. Hall.
Yeah.
What's up?
Hey, I've been loving Bruce's updates,
and I love Bruce actually getting very confident,
actually throwing some shots at Jeff Saturday for some reason.
Jeff didn't deserve that, but Bruce, I appreciate your confidence.
Bruce has been getting buried here the last couple days,
and welcome to the buzzsaw, welcome to the Thunderdome, Bruce.
But he is a fantastic personality in this office.
I mean, it is a true glue in some senses.
Now, normally it is, you know, the game Battleship where you're like sitting on one side and
you're just throwing shots, the other side just blind.
I love that game.
We're playing Battleship with Bruce, and a lot of times Bruce doesn't have any shots
back.
It's just everybody launching into his kind of world, and every once in a while you'll
hit one that Bruce kind of has a feeling.
And you go, whoa.
And then he'll take his hat off and then the hair thing.
Great hair.
And then yesterday, Lombardi was cooking his team.
And then he came out.
And as he was trying to speak up for his team,
he realized everything I'm saying right now,
I'm just about to get dumped on and kind of trade off.
So Bruce had quite a roller coaster of a few days.
He's been doing a great job here with information.
That's right.
Which is what we're looking for, isn't it?
Exactly.
And he does sit in the middle.
Now that we're thinking about being the glue guy,
he does sit right in the middle of the little bar area that we have.
I bind us together from Dipshit Island all the way to the...
Thank you for that.
Thank you.
We appreciate you, Bruce.
This is Matt Brown.
We call him Bruce because AJ didn't know his name
but got an email from him one time. He said, why is it Bruce guy sending me emails? And now his name, Bruce. This is Matt Brown. We call him Bruce because A.J. didn't know his name but got an email from him one time.
He said, why is it Bruce guy sending me emails?
And now his name is Bruce.
And he'll keep us updated on the British Open.
Information.
Not punditry.
Yeah, who's winning?
Information.
A couple opinions.
Maybe a couple hot takes, maybe.
We'll just keep with the information.
We'll just keep it moving.
A.J., I don't know if you saw or not,
we had Peyton on in the first hour.
Did you get a chance to hear anything he had to say?
He was talking about the SEC.
He was talking about the Big Ten.
He was talking about college football.
He was talking about everything in there, AJ.
Yeah, it's awesome.
Peyton's the man.
I love hearing him speak on anything.
But, like, the SEC Big Ten situation, what do they do?
What happens?
Like, what can it possibly – it looks like it's all funneling down to that.
Yeah, well, Sankey feels like he's saying we're not adding.
And that's what he's saying now.
Now, will there be a differing of opinion whenever you find out what schools are available
or what other conferences kind of dissipate?
And the only reason why we think there's a chance for another conference to dissipate
is because the Pac-12 literally just did that in front of our eyes with live football
and live sports being the only thing that moves the needle.
Money is being invested massively in live sports, live sports coverage from every single platform that exists right now.
And there's a lot more existing right now than there ever has been in the past.
All the traditional, old school, linear outlets that have covered sports are still covering sports.
USA Network is now covering sports in the peacock animal.
So the amount of people that want live sports.
So the fact that the Pac-12 just boom.
And they had their best season that they've ever had.
Kind of opened my eye.
I had a little naivety.
Naivety?
Naivete.
Oh, yeah.
Really?
That's how you say that?
Naivete?
Yeah, I think there might be a little action.
French word, huh?
How's the pressure up and doing?
Great. Xander's joining your leaders 300. Okay, thank you. French word, huh? How's the pressure up and doing? Great.
Xander's joining your leaders 300.
Okay, thank you.
Thank you, Bruce.
I appreciate it.
You know how they feel with Tiger?
Phil's winning.
He's two over.
Tiger's six over.
No!
He had a party.
I saw him make a long putt.
Six?
He unfortunately doubled 11.
Great intro for him, though.
They hit it.
I didn't see it.
What happened?
I thought you were the one that told me what they were saying.
No, no. I didn't see it. Oh, you're thought you were the one that told me what they were saying. No, no, I didn't see it.
Oh, you're talking about the commentators?
Yeah, the commentators.
Feature group coverage.
Yeah, did you hear that, AJ?
I mean, that's a bit reckless.
Yeah, what they were saying was wild.
I think they probably thought nobody was watching.
That's one of those New York Giants hard knock situations.
There's nobody paying attention.
Nobody's going to hear this.
We're just going to do our thing.
We've been a part of it.
Let's not hold it against them too much.
They probably didn't mean any ill intent.
They were just talking about probably how smooth he looked.
But nonetheless, the naivete of my belief of like, nah, football's good.
Football's good.
Football's good.
And then for them just to boom, vanish, and then now start the entire, wait a minute,
we can start moving and placing.
And then with the NIL and where's the NCAA?
It's like, I have no idea what the future looks like,
but it does feel like there's going to be a north-south situation happening.
And if you start looking at other leagues, there is east, west, north, south.
Normally, that is kind of how it's separated.
So if college football ended up being a north-south situation
with maybe a west, you know, and that ended up being what it was,
I think that would make sense.
I could see it happening.
What it is right now, I could see it remaining.
And then having one big entity I could see happening.
I don't think any of us have a clue what five years looks like from now
in college football at all.
No, at least for right now.
Go ahead, AJ.
Go ahead, AJ.
Sorry about that.
No, I'm sorry.
I think it's a good thing about bringing them together is that we get to see
the studs play the studs much more often if you do that,
if you have only a couple conferences or whatever.
So it's great for fans.
We get to see the big-time games that you truly want to see.
The thing that sucks, though, is Washington State.
This sucks for them.
Yeah, tough.
They sign a legion.
And we had our thing where Lee Corso cracks a great joke.
It was a pretty good joke
and it's not his fault that that is the situation but he was just trying to make a joke they took
it very personally obviously they start attacking uh lee corso lee corso is my teammate sits next
to me so i am obviously going to fire back i mean that's just how i am why i think it's been proven
time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and
time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time again I think that has kind of been
proven throughout my life if you look at it so I was depending and we get into it but then getting
into it is when I really learned about everything that was taking place in instead of people just
calling me a douchebag piece of shit there was also people like sending like actual information
and it's like they're the losers of this thing like they're they're they're fearing that their football program is going to be gone you know like they're going to
lose football the Cougs are massive piece of history in college football throughout the years
and it's like if we do continue to chip away and just make it big dogs versus big dogs it's like
well then we got to make D2 bigger than like D2 then better start taking like the schools that
aren't you know in the bigger
chapter because those schools are very
vital they have great fan bases
they have great alumni they have great facilities
they have great like what happens
there you know and all the other sports
then too it's who's doing any of this too though
who is who is the visionary
who's out there trying to put all this together
so this is why I think it's good that Nick Saban's on
game day okay because I think Nick Saban's on game day.
Okay?
Because I think Nick Saban, obviously, he starts his career at Michigan State or whatever, Big Ten.
I assume there was another school before that. And he talked about how important the Rose Bowl was to him because of his roots in the Big Ten.
And obviously, LSU has success.
And Alabama, he becomes God and everything like that.
But he loves college ball.
Like, he loves college football.
Went to the NFL, didn't love it. Like, didn't have as much success, obviously. Didn't love it but he loves college ball. Like, he loves college football. Went to the NFL, didn't love it.
Like, didn't have as much success, obviously.
Didn't love it.
Loves college ball.
But with game day, I think whoever is making the decision,
like, I think Saban's going to be wide open.
Like, seemingly the way he's talking in the SEC is like,
hey, this is how this needs to be.
This can't happen.
This needs to do this.
I think we're going to have an opportunity to really hear
from somebody
who loves the sport.
And if you hear Peyton talk, he's saying the same exact shit
that Saban's saying and everybody else is saying.
It's like, I think we have an opportunity to really make it great.
I think there's a chance that we can make the future
still what we love about college ball
while adding in the different opportunities of 2024.
And ideas have been kind of brought up like you
remember what chip kelly said that felt like the easiest solution where it's two separate 64
you know team conferences with you know eight divisions within each team like if saban is to
say that you know that is a much different situation because of who he is to your point
yeah and then herb street is obviously a massive course i mean it just i think
there's enough people that care about the sport and would like actually potentially like die for
college football like there there are a lot of those people out there that make the decision
you're right that you better consult them and they better be a huge part of what college football
looks like going forward bingo but now they're not going to be for everything that's potentially
has to you know the happy medium right compromise they got to figure
something out boom so i think there is like a way that we can do it but there's so many decisions
that have to be made so many decisions have to be made and humans aren't naturally you know great
at just making being super decisive like that when it comes to yeah big decisions yeah and then this
one like we gave you that one somebody's gonna yeah and then this one like we gave you that one
somebody's gonna say and then this one's gonna fight directly against this decision and then
oh the the women's volleyball team at this school is just gonna get completely
because of so many sports to think about too that's the problem oh my god i mean it's a never
end i don't know how you fix i have no idea how you fix i think that's why we got to this
situation where we're at is because so many people have gone out fuck it i ain't doing that yeah yeah and then everybody's
offering up ideas it's like hey this is what we need to do this is what we need to do and i hate
being one of those people that's like i don't have the answer but i can point out all the problems
you have it's like well you're no help that's you are actually no help in this entire thing but it's
like we're all seeing it the same way it's's just who's going to have enough want to, time.
That's what it is, want to.
Morally, too, going to have to be good.
You know?
Nick Saban's the guy.
Looks like Saban's the guy, it feels like.
But him and a couple others.
That's where the want comes into it.
It's like Saban just had a, I mean, you mentioned it.
Michigan State, all those schools, he's been doing that job of coaching,
which I am now experiencing with Dutch Danger, all that energy and time.
He did that for 50 damn years.
Does he now want to sign up to uniting every team of every sport
of every college in the country?
Well, and potentially ruin his coaching legacy if people are like,
oh, well, yeah, Saban was an unbelievable
coach, but this guy ruined
what college football... Not that that would happen,
but there's definitely going to be a sect of people that...
Yeah, because you're linking your name to whatever comes next.
Exactly. And also, this isn't going to
happen for five to ten years.
What happens in the interim? Because we were already talking
about the Big 12. The Big 12
as we know it right now... It is West Virginia's conference. But it's about to cease to exist. Whoa! What are you the interim? Because we were already talking about the Big 12. The Big 12, as we know it right now, is West Virginia's conference.
But it's about to cease to exist.
Whoa!
What are you talking about?
GG's about to run wild, bro!
It's not going to be called the Big 12 anymore.
They've already said, hey, listen, we need money.
It's just going to be the Dr. Pepper conference or whatever.
I don't like that.
I forgot we were talking about that.
Exactly.
So what happens if that gets to a point where it's like,
because the SEC and the Big Ten have kind of already said, like,
we're good on expansion.
Like, we grab the teams that we want.
And if the Big 12 can't come to some sort of agreement to figure this out
where all these institutions can be happy with, like, their payout
or have money to actually operate, then what happens?
Like, do they just become independents and they have to schedule?
I mean, who knows what's going to happen in the next five years?
Commissioner Sankey, I come to you a humble man.
If everything happens here with everything,
as doomsday people have kind of projected,
we'd be honored to have West Virginia in the SEC.
Now, I do know that West Virginia actually, the state itself,
left Virginia so that it could be
a part of a Northern Eastern conference
in a particular
battle that was
not as long ago, but
back in the day.
But we would love to be a part of the SEC
if this all comes to fruition. Because the Big Ten
was too scared to sign us. You remember? They were like,
give us Rutgers, not West Virginia.
Do you remember when the Big Ten did that?
Not too scared.
I think it was more just like.
No, that was shortly before you guys were like,
we're not playing football during COVID.
Do you remember that?
I don't know if that was ever on the table either.
It certainly was.
It wasn't.
They grabbed Rutgers because they said, hey, listen,
we want the New York City area, which, let's be honest,
no one in New York City cares about A, Rutgers, or B, Big Ten.
Give everybody about your mouth.
Let's not talk bad about Rutgers. Let's not talk bad about Rutgers.
Let's not talk bad about Rutgers.
Shiano, man.
Shiano, man, is obviously on top. They're pretty legit, though.
They were.
He's the guy for the job.
Whoa.
They are.
They're much better.
They're much better than Shiano.
They stayed on the ropes for about two quarters.
They almost beat Michigan as well.
I would like to go back in time because I was nowhere near at the stage that I am now
with West Virginia.
Or where we are now in the knowledge of the entire thing.
West Virginia ending up in the Big 12 as opposed to the ACC that's right there.
Big 10 that's right there.
Any of that as the Big East, which I think should have never broke up.
It would be like a Big 10 team to me.
That's what I'm saying.
Absolutely.
We're right there.
With Penn State too, it would have made sense because you kind of have that little panhandle that teams would go to.
And Pitt goes to the ACC.
It's like, we're right there.
In Maryland, they're in the Big Ten now.
Yeah, they are.
It's like Maryland, old school rivalry.
They're in the Big Ten.
Pitt, massive rivalry.
They're in the ACC.
Penn State, old school rivalry.
They're in the Big Ten.
It's like there were so many options.
So us, to end up at the Big
12, I love being
there. It's our conference now. We're about to run wild,
obviously, all over it and everything.
But those conversations are all going to
take place, you know, and Ollie Gordon is certainly a dog.
I mean, that is certainly something. And I can't
wait to see Gigi run into Ogie
and then LaCiecie, you know,
who's going in the Big 12.
Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen,
is a man who's going to be able to speak about the golf tournament
that is currently taking place at Royal Troon.
A lot better than we ever would.
He once finished fourth in the British Open.
Has 11 pro wins.
He's now commentator for Liv.
Ladies and gentlemen, David Faraday.
Yay, Dave.
He's locked in.
Hey. Yeah, you're frozen. David, you're frozen. Steve! He's locked in. Hey!
Yeah, you're frozen. David, you're frozen.
We're going to have to call you back, David.
We're going to have to call you back.
I thought we were just going to stare at each other there.
That's what you were going to do, right?
We were all on the same page.
He was complete.
Oh, he's got a dog with him now.
A little dachshund with him now There's a little dachshund
Hey we can hear you
How you doing
How you doing boss man
Look take a look at my wiener
Yeah love it
Love a kiss the wiener dog
I love
Let's call him back
We're calling you back David
We're calling you back it's our side not calling you back. It's our side, not yours.
It's our side, not yours.
That accent's so nice.
You can close your eyes, and we're talking to Drew McIntyre.
That's why we are going to make this.
We're going to make this.
I'm so pumped.
We are going to make it.
The way he speaks is just everything is good.
But obviously, with the open, 152nd open taking place right now, AJ,
this is a big one.
John Daly.
Tigers.
Go ahead.
Tigers six over already?
Maybe more. Seven over.
Shut up. Shut up, both of you.
Come on, Bruce. What the hell?
Just information, Bruce. Don't we know?
That's all that was. Yeah, but you
delivered it in punditry style.
Yeah. I didn't mean to.
Shane Lowry is your new solo leader
at 400. Congratulations, Shane.
Alright, Shane.
What hole was he on? He's on the 11th hole.
Or through 11 on 12.
Has the back nine or second nine or whatever
they call it over there, I don't want to upset
any of the patrons that run that particular tournament,
has that been more devastating
or the front nine?
Is Shane going to catch up?
Is he going to keep going
or is he going to fall back?
It seems like the front nine was pretty hard,
but to be honest with you, Pat, I don't know.
There it is. Depends on the wind, right?
There it is.
That was good.
A little punditry early, and then he said,
let me get back to the information here.
I am not 100% sure.
Yeah, I got no idea.
Back nine, front nine, what's harder, Royal Troon?
No idea.
That's good maturity.
Thank you.
For the cut wind, I did see that clip, AJ.
I think you're talking about Phil Mickelson talking about the different winds on the back
nine.
See, and that's what Phil Mickelson will do on the internet.
He will tell you that this particular dimple of the golf ball shaped this size against
the sun at this particular setting.
With the moss that is growing on the tree that I see over there and the way this grass
is laying, I'm going to have to actually club Don one eighth of a yard.
Now, what you need to know with that is if you skip that eighth of a yard, all of a sudden
you're in the sea moss and that's what you need not do, especially with the sun here.
If we wait this out five more minutes and the sun turns and the sea thing moves, then
we're able to do what we do.
That's Phil Mickelson football.
And that is something I think we're all going to miss.
We need him to get back into contention somewhere you know I know think about that though if all of that goes
through his head before every single shot he hits yeah we suck like that's exhausting that's
exhausting I would imagine that's like that college football NCAA 2k thing that looks impossible to
play you didn't grow up playing games right video games no me neither so I don't have it you know I
don't have the natural.
And I had some controller that I think was sent to me years ago.
I literally brought a box out of my house.
It had dust all over it because these things had been sent to me.
Very kind of them. PlayStation.
I think I got into Tiger Golf there for a little bit
because I was going to become a gamer.
That's always the song and dance.
But somebody sent me a professional controller that's really good,
but it doesn't have the shapes on the on the buttons so there's not it's just the four buttons so you're it's an
advanced controller yeah so you're supposed to you already know the shapes and i don't yeah that's
not a that's not a beginner's controller yeah i don't know that so i'm sitting there and they're
like you need to hit square you need to write it down get someone with really good handwriting who can write with a tiny little pen
above each little thing.
Onto the plastic thing?
Triangle, square, whatever.
He has the other controller.
It was dead.
It needed a charge, and we were just trying to get in there and play.
Turns out I'm never going to do it again.
Play well, though.
Play well.
I mean, did you not break two sacks and then run 80 yards with Garrett Green?
Well, yeah, but I didn't know Garrett Green was getting sacked, you see,
because I had my eyes downfield.
Well, of course.
So, you actually, if you were to have the volume on this particular video,
you'd hear me go, oh, shit, that's because I just found out
because my controller started rattling that I was getting tackled every time.
But Gigi ran wild, scored an 80-yard scamper.
I had a blast.
It was fun.
I handed over the controller, threw a pick, handed over the controller.
I'm out of here.
Stared down a receiver, it was too much.
The amount of decisions you have to make, AJ, just for anything to happen is so vast.
It is so much, and you've got to know so much shit so quickly that I think everybody just kind of grows up with.
So I'm never going to be able to play.
And that's what I've just realized is it's not my thing.
I'll just watch you guys do your thing.
I scored a touchdown.
Yeah, you got your taste.
Threw a pick. You got it.
Recruited a kid who shut the door in my face.
Fuck him. He's 17. I don't care anyways.
Yeah. I don't care. What do you mean you're recruited?
Is there like a little game play where they show you walking down a
hallway and knocking on a door or something? Well, my name
was Al
Ways Becrutin'. That's right. That was my
name they gave me. Al
Ways Becrutin'. Hyphenated.
So that was my actual name because i chose to be
a recruiter as opposed to a motivator or a tactician i forget the exact strategizer or
whatever the hell it is but yeah they give you a list of 4 000 names it's an excel spreadsheet
and then they have like the amount of stars the rating where they're from do you need this player
do you not need this player then you can go pop up four times This is where he's been offered. Here's a social media that you're looking. It's like what good
Who's signing who's paying a hundred bucks to do this to these kids?
I recruited a kid hard out of a key sport, Pennsylvania out of Pittsburgh. How's your pipeline? He was my guy, Pennsylvania
He was my pipeline. I was very proud of that. This kid put a lock on me that cuz we lose cuz
Bruce and mitt lose a game to Penn State.
Kid locks me out of his house.
Can't even recruit him anymore.
That's sad.
Can't even recruit this kid anymore.
There's a lot going on in that game.
I took 27 minutes to figure out how to fucking tell this kid I want him to be on the team.
I had to unlock points to send to this fucking kid.
And then I had to go to a different Excel spreadsheet to go down to this guy's fucking house
to tell him i want him on a team and then i can play a game oh no it's a bye week got to do all
that shit again that's right and then boom i can play a game and then we lose and then all of a
sudden the kid locked the door he can't recruit him anymore so where'd my points go they're gone
they're gone yeah how about my 27 minutes i spent at this kid's house yeah you waste your yeah it
doesn't matter.
He's not coming.
These people are geniuses, though.
You talk about keeping you there and making you play.
That's all they want is to keep you playing as long as you possibly can.
And I apologize to people watching on ESPN.
I guess it was muted for the last 20 seconds.
I got a little worked up.
I want to play.
I want to be a part of this community.
It's just too damn late, and I don't know how you pay attention.
I told you this earlier.
Yes.
I am a human with ADHD. I don't this earlier. Yes. I am a human with ADHD.
I don't want to diagnose anybody.
I am as well.
I don't know how you do it.
I don't know how you do it.
I was four Excel spreadsheets over there before even touching the football field,
and I was like, give me the hell out of here.
I wanted to quit immediately, but I couldn't.
Had to just persevere.
It's a battle of, like, stick-to-itiveness to get through that entire thing.
Yeah, no doubt about it.
And what you said, too, like growing up with it,
it's just something that you, since I have done it already before,
the new game is just kind of something that you were looking forward to.
And also, A.J. Huck, I'm going to need like three signed jerseys
because I promised four middle linebackers from Ohio that I'd get back to.
That's what I'm saying.
This is a real thing.
He's actually talking to this fake B, this 16-year-old kid.
For 15 weeks.
I mean, it was the whole entire season.
This is a four-star.
Needed him.
Needed him bad.
In Ohio, A.J. Hawks signed Ohio State.
Jersey got it done.
You were talking to this kid for 14 weeks?
Yeah.
What I did that one time before that one game, you would the next week follow up with this
kid?
Follow up.
I had to do a sway at one point just because he was in between Utah and BYU.
And then I did a hard sell after I beat the shit out of BYU.
And I got his ass in with the kicker being the Ohio State A.J. Hawks on Jersey.
That's awesome.
Well, thank you, A.J., for landing somebody for Coach Dutch Danger,
who's a 5'6", 280-pound dog.
He's 350 now.
Stressful season.
Stressful season.
Okay, obviously.
Can you buy a Mozambique on there?
Can you do that?
That's a good question.
That's a good question.
I'm sure in there somewhere.
I don't know where they'll find it, but if you press it.
It's got to be a shop.
He puts in the work.
In the offseason, he'll get back down to his playing weight.
But for now, yeah, he's been going through it.
He's a thick son of a bitch.
I don't know how anybody's doing it.
I appreciate the fact that everybody's doing it.
It's hard.
But I understand why people are staying up all night because that's like two games.
Yeah.
You've got to recruit four stars and then three.
I got turned down by a three-star yesterday.
It's like, buddy, you suck in high school.
Okay?
What are we even?
Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is a man who's great at professional golf.
Oh, yeah.
Great at it.
So damn good.
You know who he's better at?
Speaking. Because his accent
and his wit are at the top
of the game. Ladies and gentlemen,
Dave Faraday.
There it is.
Hiya, Pat.
God, you sound so good
right now. You look and
sound so good. Before, you looked
terrible. We saw part of your wiener dog. We definitely saw. We did the whole song and dance. Now you look and sound so good before you look terrible we saw part of your wiener dog we
definitely yeah you know we did the whole song and dance now you look great we appreciate you taking
time david it's a pleasure hey i'm in a good mood because there's a big fat irish guy leading the
open championship okay let's talk about the big fat irish guy who's leading the open championship
a man that we all enjoy in shane lowry he's's a four-under, I believe, through 11 holes.
I don't know what it is on the 12th.
But this tournament, 152 years old, the British Open.
Can you explain to us maybe over here in America,
don't fall golf as much.
This is the one over there.
This is the most historic.
And this is the one that all the Europeans and everybody over the UK,
I don't know all the, you get it.
Everybody over there wants to win.
This is the one?
Yeah, this is the original, you know, of the four major championships.
And, you know, in a lot of ways, it's the biggest.
It's a huge field.
It's like 156 players.
You know, so, and the tee times go from like 6.45 in the morning until 4.10 in the afternoon.
So you can get really hosed by the tide, by the wind, by the rain.
I mean, it's the greatest golf on the planet because you can see these guys suffering out there.
Go ahead, AJ.
When I watch a play, is the game plan, hey, let's try to find a way to stay out of these bunkers.
They're super deep and they're everywhere i look like what do you what do you say what is most people's game
plan when they're out there because obviously it's very difficult to avoid most of those bunkers
yeah aj you're you're right on the money there you have to stay out of these bunkers they're
like mine shafts you know you go down in there and and you you can't see the the surface of the
green sometimes it's 12 feet above you Quite often you have to come out backwards.
It's absolutely vital, you know, to miss these mine shafts.
Hey, so are all the courses like that over there?
You know, I know they say like Link's course and this course and the bunkers
and whenever there's a tournament over there that we're all watching,
it's like a completely different style of golf.
Do the people that grow up over there have quite an advantage
because they grow up playing this style of golf?
Is every golf course like that?
Do you have any easy American golf courses over there,
or is this kind of how it always is?
There are some American style golf courses over here,
but even those have the riveted faces.
You know, when you get into this terrain, when you make a bunker,
and hell, the sheep made most of these bunkers, you know,
and they're scratching around trying to stay out of the wind and rain.
That's how the bunkers were originally made.
Here's the 12th hole.
Sorry, the 8th hole, which is the postage stamp.
And you can see, you know, down in there,
that's a solid 12 feet below the level of the green,
and one of the best players in the world
rory mcelroy can't get it out um i mean you just got to miss them um but this style of golf over
here um not not every course has it um it just really the ones around the perimeter around the
shore okay and we saw a guy just quit mid-round because he was in the deep stuff. He just, he hit it.
Here it is right here.
Yep.
And it goes into deep shit again.
And then he says, you know what?
You know, yeah, I'm not doing it anymore.
Yeah, I'm done with this thing.
It is a mentally tasking time on the golf course
every single time.
Like I believe the US Open over here,
they always try to make the course
as impossible as it could be.
This is the same thing with the British Open.
Like, the course is going to have its day for these guys over the next couple,
and it's like a mental tough battle almost out there every single time.
Yeah, well, first of all, that guy's French, you know.
So what else are you going to say? But, you know, the golf course really is set up by the weather preceding the event.
It's not going to be said.
He said, did you hear that?
Yeah.
That guy, you know, paints a picture.
Everybody just moved along.
Got a bad backer.
Yeah.
You know, the golf course,
the conditions of the golf course are
largely set up by the weather that precedes
the event. You know, they're not trying to trick
it up. Sometimes you'll see Royal Troon
or Turnberry or they open at
St. Andrews, you know, where the golf course
is yellow all the way through, you know,
and it'll play really short.
But those are the times that it plays
the hardest, you know,
because it's so difficult to control the ball.
You see the same thing at Augusta.
Augusta plays really difficult when it's hard and fast, you know.
But that's Lynx golf for you.
Okay.
Well, we'll be excited to watch the Doppler as the weekend rolls on
over there at Royal Troon.
Bruce Brown has a question for you, David.
Yeah, David.
So, John Rump struggled A bit in the majors
So far this year
He's two over, we'll see if he can turn it around
At the Open
Is there anything on live that you've seen that might be
Contributing to his struggles in the majors
And is it these damn drones
That keep following him around
And getting in the way of his backswing
You know, he seems to have
That one hiccup in each round,
whether it's a bogey and an easy hole or a double bogey, something like that.
But he's a couple over at the minute.
And, you know, these guys that are three, four, and even five over at the minute
are not out of this.
You know, the draw kind of turns itself around tomorrow.
The guys that went out early will play later.
You know, and they might get the break in the weather. know and if they can shoot something low you know six or seven under
park and easily win this tournament um or this championship uh if the weather stays the way it
is so he brings up john rom and obviously in these big ones and majors we get to see everybody golf
again including old rivals that made a lot of people
golf fans connor has a question for you yeah david do you think that tiger and phil obviously they're
you know on their way out but do you think that this is kind of one of those times where it will
be the last time that we see them together in a major and also do you think that it's impossible
now to have a rivalry like tiger and Phil just because the world's best
golfers are split? Yeah, yeah, that's a good point. They are. I mean, it would be difficult
to have a rivalry like that anyway, because the standard, those two guys, you know, really set
the bar so high. And these youngsters, there's so many of them that are so good. But it's the same in any sport.
You know, if you put a basketball team from the 1960s out against, you know,
basketball from the 2020s, they get run over.
They're just bigger, stronger, faster, better.
You know, and the same thing is happening in golf.
The scores are incredibly low.
We're seeing 59s on a semi-regular basis.
They're hitting it so far.
They hit the ball so far.
I just got an email from Jack the Hammer Ham,
and he told me that if I utilize his hammer,
I might be able to hit that thing 400 yards.
Guys are hitting it like 380, 390, 400 yards.
To your point about evolution and people
getting better. And I think that happens in every sport because you learn workouts that are like,
hey, this workout is best for this. This technique is best for this. Golf is experiencing that right
now. Weren't they trying to do something to make guys not hit it as far or something? Isn't the
golf world trying to do that right now? Yeah, there's talk about, you know, rolling the ball
back, you know, having a limit on the amount of there's talk about you know rolling the ball back
you know uh having a limit on the amount of feet per second you know it can travel you know off the
off the club face but you know from a scientific standpoint you know these guys have got forensic
statisticians that examine their stats and determine which part of the game they should
be working on you know what needs uh a look at and that kind of thing.
And we used to go to the bar, for Christ's sake, you know.
We did too, David.
Too much probably.
I did probably too much.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm an Irish lad as well.
Speaking of, Ty has a question for you.
Yeah, David, after Rory's melt in the u.s
open um you know it seems like over the last several majors it's been like hey rory's finally
gonna exercise the demons here he's gonna come back he's gonna win this one and then for whatever
reason he just he can't get over that hump do you think we're at a point where we may never see rory
win another major or what what will be like the tipping point for him to finally kind of get that monkey
off his back and,
and not choke when it seems like everything's going his way and he should
win.
I think it's a,
a point where,
you know,
if people stop expecting him to win,
you know,
that might be the time that he does.
He's got plenty of time left,
you know,
he's what,
34,
35 years old, maybe yeah you know but
they only play four of them a year that's the uh that's the only uh you know downside of it you
know so you only get those four chances but um i i would be surprised if we don't see him win another
one do you pay attention at some point do you pay attention with everything going on in the entire
golf world now that you're commentating at Live?
And was there, is there like a meeting about how everybody feels about everything going on?
Because it felt like there was a lot of tension early.
And then now it feels like not as much.
And then we hear like the rumblings of, well, there has been a deal.
Then no, there hasn't been a deal.
There is a deal.
It feels like the two sides have set their swords down a little bit more.
Do you feel that way? And do you pay attention to all the storylines happening everywhere, not just at Live? There is a deal. It feels like the two sides have set their swords down a little bit more.
Do you feel that way?
And do you pay attention to all the storylines happening everywhere, not just at Live?
Yeah, I mean, look, the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour have got a fantastic product.
It's always been great to watch.
You know, it's a great game.
We're just a little different.
And, you know, as far as the negotiations and all the rest, I'm not privy to that sort of stuff.
You know, I watch a monitor and I talk crap, you know, about the game.
That's way above my pay grade.
Yeah, but whenever you have conversations, obviously you guys all would like to see the golf world better, right?
That was kind of the goal of Live, right?
Wasn't it?
Sure.
Like, make golf better than where it was.
And that was like the big pitch and then obviously there was a lot of obstacles early because there was a lot of different things being hurled from
every different walk of life at live but then it's like now it seemingly is getting to a point where
golf is getting to a better place do you guys talk about that is that just natural conversation you
guys have amongst each other yeah we we do you know, and what we're doing,
people are getting used to the team concept.
They're kind of a little more invested in it now than they were.
You know, we try to emphasize that as well.
It's been, look, it was a leap of faith for all of us who joined,
you know, what, two and a half years ago.
And, you know, we didn't know what was going to happen.
But certainly, you know, we do't know what was going to happen. But certainly, you know, we do.
We talk about it for sure.
Yeah, and hopefully it'll take place because these majors are awesome.
Yeah.
We all agree.
You know what I mean?
Like seeing just Brooks because the majors are when Brooks is like this is –
that was actually his gimmick.
His gimmick was the John Deere classic is awesome.
These people are cool.
Great to be here.
Thank you so much.
When's the master?
Okay, and he would just show up and dominate.
He's a gamer.
So we still get to see that.
So that's like still a good thing.
Dustin Johnson, though, when he was starting to hit a 360, 370,
becoming the guy was like, that was fun every single week to watch.
And with the way Scottie's playing right now,
it's like I assume we're all thinking like, hey,
we can get golf to a beautiful place go ahead aj david what's it feel like to to go into a sunday
of a tournament and to sleep on the lead to be in first place knowing hey i'm teeing off in the last
group i should win this thing how does that sunday like feel compared to all other days you play
yeah it's uh it's an amazing experience you know it depends i mean i take an ambient
smart and have i i always had to uh you know i was one of those add kids you know but except
when i went to school they called it stupid yeah yeah you and me pat oh yeah yeah yeah yeah um so
but but sleeping on the lead of a major championship is a different thing. You know, coming into Sunday, I played in, I think, the second-last group in 1989 at Troon
with the eventual winner, Mark Kalkovecchia.
And, you know, I was jumpier than a box of frogs, you know, standing up on that tee.
So jumpier than a box of frogs.
First time I've heard that would be very jumpy very jumpy because
if there's a if there's a shit ton of frogs in there oh it's not just necessarily that the box
is jumping think about the amount of jumps that are happening within the box you see on top of
each other so that's box itself and inside box that is jumpy as shit that's hard to hit a golf
ball whenever you're that jumpy yeah yeah
if you pick the if you pick the box up you could probably tell there were frogs inside it you know
it's that kind of jumpiness oh i got you okay a lot of rattling okay got it um i was ambien guy
as well uh night before games and then for me for punting i'd wake up in the morning and i assume
you did this in 1989 in royal turn especially with how you're describing this golf course I'd wake up in the morning, and I assume you did this in 1989 in Royal Trin, especially with how you're describing this golf course. I'd wake up in the morning,
and then I'd open the hotel window, and I'd look for a flag flying somewhere around the city.
And then if I saw that thing like this, I was like, great, we are screwed today with the wind.
And if I saw that thing just chilling, it was like, we got a great day in this city that we're
in. So I assume the golfers will be doing that. They know what the weather's going to be, and if I saw that thing just chilling it was like we got a great day in this city that we're in so
I assume the golfers will be doing that they know what the weather is going to be or is that
something that comes and goes well weather forecasters you know in the UK are are kind of
like sports presenters in a way I mean that can be wrong most of the time and still get paid
amen the weather exactly the weather is is just is just extremely difficult to predict.
When the tide turns, and you can see the tide is out at the minute at Royal Trim.
When it turns, that wind can swing around, you know,
and you can get some players that will play the front nine downwind,
and then all of a sudden they play the back nine downwind as well,
which can be like a two-shot advantage.
So, yeah, they look out the window in the morning
for sure but uh come play time you know god knows what will happen yeah i was always hoping that i'd
be downwind every time you know in those windy cities it never happened but when you're jogging
on the field there's like an optimistic thought like it could turn just for you know it could
turn for like just force all we need is just three, four
seconds of this thing to turn. Those golfers
sitting in the middle of it, I couldn't even fathom.
Massive respect for the mental toughness you
guys have. Keep crushing it. Thank you for making
time, David. That's a pleasure,
Pat. Lovely to see you. Thanks, AJ.
What's the name of
the dachshund?
That's Poppy, my tiny
wiener.
All right. Ladies and gentlemen david
he's best what a weapon yeah legends remember his like variety show that used to be on he used
to travel around and do all kind of stuff that was on a golf channel yeah yeah yeah he'd do like he
would do like a show like on stage and yeah he's yeah he's a he's a good dude he seems like he's got good moxie you know in like the um
him going to live i thought was a big deal for them like that was a good idea like classic live
at the time we're gonna pay the big names and hopefully we're gonna be able to bring some
attention and eyeballs while we're trying to craft how this thing is gonna go golfers are
gonna help us do it then we going to get big names in commentary,
and he was one of those names that obviously go over there.
Two and a half years removed.
How do we feel about it?
How do we, like, debutch, obviously.
Yeah, I mean, success overall just because of how much change there was with the PGA.
I don't know how much with, like, specific live sessions.
Watching it.
To actually see it.
To turn it on and watch it somewhere.
That's the problem we've got to figure out. The Nashville live event
with Bryson, that felt like a big
moment of growth. The social moments are
awesome. That Abe answer
hawking his club last week
was so sweet. The drone?
The drone was so sweet.
Incredible. The Australia
part three.
I don't think nobody's watching it on a
week-to-week basis because it's hard. Darius is watching. Yeah, par three. But I don't think nobody's watching it on a week-to-week basis
because it's hard.
Darius is,
no, he doesn't watch.
It's hard to find,
well, I think it's
obviously different.
I mean, if any of us
were to go to each one
of these pro-ams
and play 18 holes
with these guys,
yeah, you'd be like.
I'm watching arena soccer
this year.
Yeah, exactly.
Like the same idea.
But I think they'd say
it's a success
because they've had guys
from live-win majors.
And that was kind of
like the whole thing.
It's like, well,
this doesn't mean shit because these guys all just took a big bag and like until
they can and that's what a lot of people said about phil is like hey he took 250 or 500 million
whatever it was and it's like now he's shooting 78s and 79s in these live events like he doesn't
care anymore because he got broken off so much he already had so so much success on the pga tour but
now they got guys who are playing rich already wasn't PGA Tour, but now they've got guys who are playing. He was rich already, wasn't he?
Yeah, very rich.
But now they've got guys playing week in, week out on live
who are then going to the majors and winning major championships.
So it kind of validates the whole thing.
I think there's a honeymoon phase where you get that massive check.
I think it happened with a couple different people.
Rob's in it right now.
He's on the other end of it.
Hopefully he's on the way out of it.
But it happened to Brooks, I think. Bryson, I think, too, and now he's out he's on the other end of it hopefully hopefully he's on the way out of it but it happened to brooks i think yeah bryson i think too and now he's past it it's like a
honeymoon would imply good things so i don't want to say that but there's like a phase of
it's hard to want to go and box at 6 a.m when you're waking up on satin sheets type situation
that takes place over there but then i think they get on the course and they there comes a time
where they're like all right let's let's try to be good yeah they always i think they get on the course and they, there comes a time where they're like, all right, let's,
let's try to be good.
Yeah.
They always, I think they always care, but there's that honeymoon phase.
I think maybe is when they,
they don't care enough to do what it takes to be who they were before.
So they might have a little six, eight, 10 months stretch and be like,
okay, I got to get back to who I am.
Yeah.
I'm not doing the a hundred putts in the morning before I have breakfast in
my bedroom before I, like I use, like, I don't have to do that. Right. I can just kind of push those I use... I don't know how to do that.
I can just kind of push those to later.
I'm not saying they're doing that. We have no idea
if that's how they are operating. We do not know
any of it. We are just
simply stating that that is probably
what we would...
You've had teammates get paid, right?
That you saw were much different. It happens.
It's probably just human nature.
It's a fat pocket syndrome. We also heard a lot of those guys say that a big part of their decision
was a to make you know like generational wealth and have their families live better lives but to
spend more time with their families so it's like that kind of goes hand in hand if you're spending
more time with your family then you're obviously not spending as much time practicing and at the
golf course and stuff like that every person and we've talked about this a lot, we're about to be in Hall of Fame season.
Every person that is at the top of their professions, you know,
normally whenever they get a chance to speak or they're being honored,
normally those people don't want to be honored or anything like that.
But whenever it inevitably happens, all of them say to their wife and to their kids,
I am so sorry I wasn't around as much.
But it takes what it takes is kind of the old adage that everybody who's at the top says.
So whenever you hear like the full swing show where Dustin Johnson was like, more money, less work.
Yeah. Who's not doing that?
Yeah.
It's like, all right. So we all need to believe now that the work he is talking about is the boring work,
which is the same exact work that we try to do for golf
and don't do because we're not professionals.
So we're probably not doing the parts of the game
that are the most minuscule, the most boring, repetitive,
those types of things.
But there comes a point, I think, with every elite athlete person where you get tired of being like,
not as great as you can be,
or you go a different direction.
You're like,
yeah,
my career is done now.
I'm just going to be,
I'm going to be in it and I'm going to do different types of shit,
but I hope everybody gets to their best form,
you know,
it's around these majors,
but it's not easy just to drop in one weekend and be great,
drop out and not be,
that is just kind of the run of golf.
And with live,
like DJ does feel like the guy that hasn't really to, you know,
get over the hump of the honeymoon phase or move past that.
Like, it feels like he's just been content the whole time.
Like, you don't see many clips.
And be loved by everybody.
Yeah, exactly.
Like, he's the one dude that went to Liv and maybe Phil, too,
where, like, even though he's not winning
and he's not competing in every major in those last groups, he doesn't give a
shit because that's not why he went to live. He went there
because he could spend more time with his family.
Do you have something to say, Bruce?
I mean, not really.
I do think that just the
playing less golf... Not really, but if I can.
Hold on, though.
Just the playing less golf in general
has a massive impact. DJ used to
age like a fine wine through the PGA Tour season
and go to that match play event, kick some wholesale ass,
and then be ready to roll in those majors.
Just being in less competitive tournaments,
it probably has a massive effect on how they have to prepare for every major.
Yeah, and I'm assuming there's some people that get a, by the way.
By the way, Bruce.
By the way, Bruce.
That's a good question, didn't we didn't celebrate
because you know about the connection you did fantastic but it is there's some guys that are
going to be able to do well whenever like each week isn't like like there's some guys that don't
have to practice as much you know like there's some guys in sports that don't have to practice
and then there's some guys that like have to like hey i have to i have to i was a person that if i
missed a day of kicking i I thought I would shank
every single ball on Sunday. Like this is what I have to do. I have to do this. Well, you shouldn't
because you have a dislocated kneecap or whatever. It's like, well, all right. Do we want me to just
walk on the field scared to death? Or, you know, you got to figure it out, Aaron Burrell, you know,
figure it out, Kyle, just make this thing feel good by Sunday. Cause I have to practice. And
then there's some people that are just like, ah, good the confidence is there and it's like if you're one
of those guys who knows that you have to like mentally be the guy that is probably a much more
difficult decision to go to live like what if Rombo was a guy that needed like yeah every single
day build a team like a structured team around you that's going to be structured every
single day. Because think of it, playing less tournaments,
when these guys go to tournaments, they show up on Monday.
They're playing Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
So they're working on their game all week before the tournament
even starts. So it's just, are
guys disciplined enough to
get that many reps at home? That's going
to be tough to recreate that. And then you've got guys
like Brooks, who literally, that's how
they did their PGA career. some people were just freaks yeah
that's exactly how it's like leckler for punting right bingo yeah he one of those guys yeah like
we didn't punt a single ball the entire offseason and then he was like well i got three weeks four
weeks to figure it out at training camp and hopefully i'll be able to do it i'm like
mentally you are an absolute animal because i would have showed up at training camp like,
well, getting cut, this is it.
We are going to be completely broke after this particular training camp.
How was Vinny when he came to that type of situation?
Vinny and Terry were a lot of work.
Yeah.
But the practices were games.
So it was –
Vinny seems super dialed in, like, hey, we're making every single kick we ever –
Every single one, yeah.
Not to mess around i i was very very very very very very very lucky that i was on a team with adam
venetieri just like getting a chance to because in college i kicked and i punted so like some
practice reps it was like yeah it's not going to be good i'm doing both like you mail it in like
hit a shank miss a kick like practice yeah when when the lights come on we'll you know we will
yeah we will do this entire thing and then you get to the nfl and i do a position that i didn't do a
lot so then all of a sudden i became like the complete opposite i'm like oh i have no idea
what i'm doing at this thing so i gotta go i gotta go but then you watch adam venetarian it's like
hey it's not just the amount of reps it's like meaningful reps like hey make every intentional
yeah intentional reps like he mentally he puts himself in that spot yeah yeah like hey this is hey, it's not just the amount of reps. It's like meaningful reps. Like, hey, make every rep.
Yeah, intentional reps.
Like, mentally, he puts himself in that spot, yeah.
Yeah, like, hey, this is an actual game.
This is third quarter right now.
In his head, he is able to actually go there. That has to be huge for you to see that as a young player.
Like, oh, yeah, of course, this is why he is this guy.
Okay.
Because I see what he does.
Bingo.
So then, like, even though punting and kicking have different situations and shit, when I'm working backed up in practice, like, in my head,
I'm like, all right, here we go.
Like, this is an actual situation.
So when I would miss, oh, I'd be so pissed.
The amount of fucks that would come out whenever I would miss,
and then Chuck would have to come over and be like, there's –
And that's your only time, too, during practice,
where you're punting in front of everybody.
I would get it.
You miss one a little bit.
Yeah, come on.
I got like 30 more seconds here with the team.
Yeah, these guys think I suck.
Like, I talk a lot of shit around the locker room.
I need to, you know, because if you're bad, you got to shut up.
And I knew that.
So as soon as my Twitter started going, I started having a show, started doing stand-up, had a podcast.
It's like, we are two shanks away from this all ending.
You are the punter. You need to shut shut up so that was also a motivator you know that was also a driver
in this entire thing well i assume with vinny i don't know this to be a fact but when you played
with him like he might not be thinking about it every day but you're at least cognizant of the
like hey my legacy like i'm gonna go down as the greatest kicker of all time so like going back to
the live stuff like i think we hear a lot of the PGA guys,
that's why they didn't go is because it was legacy.
DJ was okay with, hey, guess what?
I've won majors, but I'm never going to be considered the greatest golfer of all time,
and I don't give a shit.
That's okay.
And they're going to be $300 million.
I'll go make a bunch of money, and who knows?
Maybe I'll win a couple more majors for the rest of my career,
but it seems like that is a really defining part of it too like guys some
guys are just okay with like hey guess what i'm not gonna be tiger all right but guess what they're
also gonna give me 350 million dollars to go do this so i'm okay with that so not be tiger oh man
damn 350 million dustin johnson he calls wayno over. You know his father-in-law? Yeah.
He's like, so here's the deal, Wano.
I'm never going to be considerate of you.
Yeah.
All right? That's kind of my issue in this thing.
Good.
They're going to say I'm a good player.
Really good.
Still talking about me.
I won.
I got a truck.
Look at the truck.
You see?
Yeah.
Got a green jacket.
Welcome to my office, Wano.
Yeah.
These are my...
Yeah.
I got it all.
I'm going to be invited to that one every year.
Yep.
Like, you see this whole thing?
But I'm never, you know...
And to be honest i don't
really i don't know if i got it yeah to be the guy like if i wanna i don't care yeah i want to
be on the espn style 100 athletes list but i don't think i'm making and then he goes paulina babe can
you switch this and you switch it and then there's 350 million and then there's that that's just
sitting there for me so what do you think your grandkids are set for it yeah what do you think
that's just sitting there for me.
What do you think?
Your grandkids are set for it.
Yeah, what do you think?
Yeah, we're taking them.
Take them on.
Smart, Wayno.
That's why you're the good one.
Still playing the majors as well.
Yeah, real deal.
Wayne, too.
Like, think about when he played in the NHL.
And then seeing a number like that. Oh, yeah, that's like Peyton.
We just talked to Peyton about these quarterback numbers.
His first reaction was, and then he said, I love it.
Yeah.
I love it.
Wish my parents.
Yeah, Archie and Olivia, I wish they would have, you you know waited a little bit to do that shout to them shout to Peyton shout to
David Faraday shout to the boys in the back making that connection work shout the ESPN for having us
on today that was a lot of fun are we on ESPN today I think so yeah there's nothing on yeah
that's awesome definitely the open though it's on USA Network yes isn't that interesting USA Network
has just become like a sports Network pretty much yeah i mean hey good for them they rebranded
no i think they're just going to keep usa network i think right now usa probably like
what's those shows what shows are on usa network monday night raw uh other i'm saying other than
sports stuff like they're scripted monk um you know burn notice three years old b range That's kind of what they do, I think, is just
recycle the old syndicated hits.
Yeah, the McBee boys obviously ran wild out there
on the ranch.
Love that.
We'll be back tomorrow with another
fantastic show.
Top notch. Week out from the Olympics.
KY is going to be in studio. Oh, hell yeah.
Be a friend, tell a friend something nice. It might change
their life. We're in this thing together. We'll see you
tomorrow. Goodbye! Right on. I mean
right on the... Let's go.
Right on screws. Golf tournaments
during the day are good. Anything happening during
the day is good, which is why the Olympics are going to be so
fucking sweet. So pumped. I mean
USA Basketball plays at noon
basically every time they play. Oh, sweet. Yeah, our show
is going to be so good. We're not going to be distracted
at all. Well, the good thing is...
When will their first game happen?
What's that, buddy?
When will the USA...
When's our first game?
Do we have a date?
So the ceremony's next Friday, I do believe.
Yeah.
Oh, gosh, we've got so much time.
But there's some shit happening beforehand
because there's like a tournament that happens
in some of the sports that's too long that doesn't fit.
So they actually start like Wednesday, Thursday,
and then there's the ceremony on Friday, and then everything kind of gets going after that. But remember, they actually start like wednesday thursday and then there's the ceremony on friday
and then everything kind of gets going after that but remember they come in like segments like
swimming yeah gymnastics track i think basketball is at the end is it i thought at least that like
the gold medal game at least in the past has been that second weekend yeah we should look into this
and have more information on it all i I know is Olympic ceremony next Friday night,
and then obnoxious Americans and microphones starts the following Monday.
On Sunday is the start of gold medal stuff.
So when we start on Monday, there will be at least,
there will be events deciding gold medals throughout the entire day.
And we're not talking about next,
we're talking about the Monday following this upcoming Monday.
No, following the opening ceremony.
Yeah, that's next.
We're talking...
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, yeah, not this upcoming Monday, the following Monday.
But when we start talking about it,
there will be gold medals up for grabs
every single day of that week.
And we're right in the middle of primetime,
this particular show.
Yeah.
So these are all the primetime things.
So we're popping up the medal count for each country too, right?
It's always fun to do that.
Yeah, America number one and then everybody else.
That'll be a lot of fun.
And this is an international show.
It is.
Oh, yeah.
It is funny even though we're regional still.
July 28th versus Serbia.
Okay, we'll be playing in Lille, France, 11, 15 a.m.
That's great.
It's right down.
We'll get the end of the game.
That is beautiful.
South Sudan, July 31st in Lille.
Then Puerto Rico on August 3rd.
That's a lot of space in between those games.
Yeah, and that's just the group stage.
So then it goes to the round.
Hey, boys, listen.
I have not scouted South Sudan, okay?
I know Puerto Rico just got in because Cuz went crazy.
Junior Alverde, I believe his name.
No, the...
Who?
Alvarado.
Oh, from...
Yeah, yeah.
Alvarado just went bananas.
Yeah, Grand Theft Alvarado.
Yeah, I think he just went crazy and got Puerto Rico in.
I do believe.
So I think they're, you know, obviously... Jose Alvarado. Yeah, I think he just went and got Puerto Rico in, I do believe. Jose. Jose Alvarado.
Yeah, so he got them in. It was just a clip
on the internet a couple days ago. I think it was the first
time. I think it was the first time. Nah.
I was reading a lot of memes.
Sure. Yeah, you never know.
I hear you. I was reading a lot of memes
so I didn't know what was real and what wasn't real, but
I do know there was a massive moment. They got into the
Olympics very late. I don't know South Sudan, Sudan. We're going to beat the shit out of them. I don't think we was real and what wasn't real, but I do know that was a massive moment. They got into the Olympics very late.
I don't know South Sudan, Sudan.
We're going to beat the shit out of them.
I don't think we need to scout them either.
Well, Serbia, I haven't scouted them.
We just played them the other day.
We're actually playing South Sudan in a friendly on July 20th.
Yeah, we do friendlies with the group play teams
just so they know, like, oh, yeah, we have no fucking chance.
It is interesting.
Let's just have a good time at the ceremony.
Do we like that or not like that i don't know feel stupid yeah
for sure i think it's fine because like you know we're gonna beat south sudan by 50 or 60
regardless what if they put in their 12th man to go in there and hurt three of our starters
and the friendly yeah well if if they do that then then obviously the Olympic Committee will do nothing, remember?
Because they'll just make them the Olympic athletes from Sudan.
What if there's Gary Vee all over the place?
You get a breakaway layup and you Gary Vee the guy from behind.
We don't want to see that.
Have you heard the update?
That will invade their country.
Have you heard the...
Thoughts and prayers to Gary Vee.
I saw a picture.
T's and P's to Gary Vee who got a busted picture. Tease and peas to Gary Vee, who got a busted eyebrow,
and he said basketball didn't go as planned this a.m.
And obviously we've known the Vaynerchuk operation for a long time,
been in his office, have been friends for a while now with Gary Vee.
I think we got some Gary Vee-mons, Vee friends, literally on the thing.
Owned by Gary Vee. Gary Vee plays basketball, V-Friends, literally on the thing. Owned by Gary V.
Gary V. plays basketball, pickup basketball, and he plays like an asshole.
At least the clips that we have seen him put on the internet.
He fouls people.
He goes, like, he hits the shit out of people.
From behind.
And then he'll push them and he'll throw, like, there is, Gary V. is very intense in his pickup basketball games.
And as soon as we started seeing clips of these Gary Vee basketball clips,
we're like, we had Gary on the show literally the same day.
We're like, Gary, somebody's going to beat your fucking ass, right?
Like, I've never seen that happen in a pickup basketball game that I've played in
and not end up in a massive fight, which is the whole world's respect for Gary Vee.
Yes.
Obviously, that kid gets fouled.
He's like about to do what every other human in the history of pickup basketball has done.
Throw a left at a face probably.
Even if you're not that good. Then he saw Gary Vee
and he was like, why?
Gary Vee, boy, doc.
He got lucky
by not doing it. You're right.
I think somebody was like, I don't
have any Gary Vee bones.
I don't like what you're doing.
Probably big L.
That's textbook. He picked up a guy full court and was reaching a bunch and the guy just elbowed him
right in the fucking eye as hard as he could and gary v didn't pick him up full court the rest of
the game and that's how you play back that's that's pick up hoops exactly that's pick up
hoops football but yeah i think he i think he might have been bleeding all over the place and
said i'm fucking slapping the wood right after.
I don't care.
Oh, you're saying he got elbowed.
And then next possession.
If you think that's going to stop me.
TJ McConnell.
Yeah, bingo.
You think that's going to stop me?
You think he's.
I'm bleeding on your jersey, bitch.
Yeah, I think we should call.
To be completely honest, I think we should call Gary.
But that's just me.
I don't know.
I don't know if we have his number back.
He's probably in surgery right now.
Surgery?
He stitched it up himself, bitch. No, he's getting
Yeah, he's hitting layup lines
Still his number I've not talked to him in a while
I'm not so I hope he's great. I'm worried about he's great. Well, yeah, you tried to call me He was just busy that one time. Well that one time
Excuse me. Yeah
You watch watches streams.
I'm not sure we're on a full FaceTime right now.
Zito just tried to cross-check the number that we have in the back.
He just hit them all from all angles.
He's in the back of an ambulance.
Maybe driving it.
You should see the other guy.
He drives his own ambulance.
He doesn't sit in the back.
I got this, boys.
Yeah, yep.
Hey, why don't you focus an IV up to his arm?
Yeah.
Get the IV going.
Get the catheter in himself.
If he was to do that, it would be completely understandable because it's Gary V.
And how do you recover and get somewhere at the same damn time if you're not driving the ambulance
and being the emt and i understand gary v would be able to do that but i don't blame him no i've
gotten a couple of these uh cars of drivers and uh said hey i'm driving sir i am a professional
driver you are in my vehicle yeah i've seen what you've done here you got lost on the runway
uh we haven't been able to get off this fucking airport for seven minutes because you just got lost here.
I'm going to be the one driving this thing.
You need to go ahead and sit in the back.
Congrats, you got the night off.
I've done that a few different times.
Some people have not let me get in the driver's seat.
You know, like that ambulance driver let Gary Vee, obviously, that EMT driver, let Gary Vee in there.
Some people have not let me do that.
Some people have.
And I'll tell you what, what a moment that is.
It's very uncomfortable for me and the person for the entire ride.
I never think about it whenever I'm through in the whole,
I'm not sitting back here and letting this guy decide if I make it to this arena on time or not.
I'm not going to do this.
And then when you get in the car and it's happening,
all of a sudden you're looking in the mirror and you're driving.
You're looking at him.
It's a weird scene.
Gary's bullish on that move, though.
Very bullish.
Very bullish.
Which I am, too.
Did he tip you?
Did the guy tip you when you got there?
I actually tipped the driver.
Thank you for the car.
What if he tried to tip you?
What if he was being a good sport?
He's like, hey, thanks for the ride, pal, and gave you some money.
You ask him if he needs water?
That would be funny.
Then he gets fired because insurance definitely wouldn't cover you if you crashed.
Yeah, so that's always the excuse that people always make.
They always say, like, legally, I'm not allowed to do that because you're not on insurance.
It's a professional car.
And I go, oh, I do it every week.
It's no big deal.
I'll cover it myself, obviously, with this entire thing.
Some people are like, they know the game that that is an absolute lie, what I just said.
And then some people are like, yeah, I don't have to do anything sweet. anything sweet i'll sit in the back you just do like the eastbound and down like
oh if we get in a car accident i'll just have you sit in the front seat you know yeah simple like
when teddy powers is driving drunk and then put stevie kanowski in the in the it says no no you
were driving you were drunk that was such a i've only put they put Lucky Charms on? I mean, there's just like so many.
Like the whole...
It's the best.
Bob Duato.
Kenny Powers' character
just...
I know
it couldn't work ever again.
No.
Kenny Powers and Shane Gillis
need to figure out how to get into
a team together.
Shane Gillis needs to be the manager of a baseball team
that has Kenny Powers on the team.
That'd be awesome.
Even if it's just like a sketch.
Five minutes.
Tires. Have Kenny own
a rival tire shop.
Or have him bring in
an Escalade Denali. Escalade Denali? him bring in like an Escalade Denali.
Escalade Denali?
Yeah, drive it up.
Turn it back to the Escalade Denali.
How about Jet Ski, dude?
One of the greatest Jet Skis.
It's the first episode.
Talking about the panty dropper?
Yeah.
He's got the girl with him.
He does the tail whip and launches her into the lake and then drives away.
Think about that show.
What if it was just dropped into the world in 2022 let's say 20 maybe 2023 think about that if that show was
dropped in 2022 covid 20 i guess 2021 we should go in i think it would go well buddy how about
that first literally the first scene yeah he is i mean he's he runs right through the entire gamut.
The whole gamut.
The whole gamut of the entire thing. Does it still hold up?
Yeah. Yeah, it does.
I haven't watched it in a while.
The first season is near pitch perfect.
And what's Buddy's name?
Danny McBride.
Ashley Schaefer, BMW.
What's the show with
Goodman and they're the preachers.
Righteous Gemstones.
That's legit.
The show's great.
I haven't seen all of them, but, man, they've got some great actors in there.
Yeah, Walter Goggins is in that, too.
Yeah, selling the Lord, you know.
Yeah, they do it well.
Uh-oh.
All right.
Oh, right off the...
Cornhole.
Somebody sent these boards in. They painted them all up. Good boards. I was thinking about getting back into Cornhole. Somebody sent these boards in.
They painted them all up.
Good boards.
I was thinking about getting back into cornhole.
That's an incredible sport.
That was something I really started doing in the facility
when everybody else was watching film.
Had about two, three hours a day of nothing.
Make my rounds, talk to everybody.
How we doing?
Good to see you.
All right.
I'm going to go do 90 minutes of hitting these boards.
I got really...
I became a professional cornhole player
while also being a professional punter. I've always said i want to get back into it because
i was i was good at i knew what i was doing had strategy knew how to play it made a lot of money
playing it with a man who's going into the hall of fame dwight freeney i pretty much my cornhole
partner he was not the best player but we won a lot of games, obviously, and his energy, enthusiasm, and want to bet the amount of peanut M&Ms per point in cornhole games
was something that really motivated me to become a better cornhole player.
So not only on the football field, in the locker room, in life,
but also in cornhole, Dwight Freeney,
a true Hall of Fame human being all the way around there.
I did see a Gatorade bottle garbage can shot by Austin Colley with Dwight Freeney
that I think Austin Colley would say, you know,
Dwight Freeney made me a more clutch human being
because just one empty Gatorade bottle, one garbage can,
just, you know, 10, 15,000 peanut M&Ms.
Sure.
You know, just that's something that can really,
and really test your,
Oh, yeah.
really test your gumption in that entire thing.
I need to get back into Cornhole.
Why do we,
we just stop playing it?
Do we know why we say,
it's loud.
It's loud.
Definitely loud.
You need four, Pete.
You need, you know,
you got to have a partner.
You got to go against two others.
No, no, no.
One-on-ones.
I like to,
I like playing,
I like having a partner.
I understand the camaraderie. I don't mind two-on-two, splitting the board, doing a thing like that, go one-on-one. One-on-one is... I like playing. I like having a partner. I understand the camaraderie.
I don't mind two-on-two, splitting the board, doing things like that.
But one-on-one is...
I mean, you can get reps.
You can really get going.
And then American Cornhole League, they had a little bit of a run, remember?
They did, yeah.
I don't know if they still are.
Do they still have...
Those dudes are good.
I think it's almost ACL season, actually.
I'm pretty sure August is when they are showing the Olympics.
I think they're actually paying half of Daniel Jones'
contract this year. I do remember that when we thought
he was a professional cornhole player. That was a fake.
It was. That was not a real.
But like World Series of Poker,
when I was in high school,
run. Yes. Oh, yeah.
I thought Cornhole League was going to have the same.
I thought that Cornhole League was going to have run because they had college,
they had pros. Is it regional, or is it
a Midwest? Is it just Midwest?
No.
I'd never played it in Pittsburgh.
I'd never played it in Pittsburgh.
I'd play it in the league.
In the league, there's teams from Arizona and the Midwest and the East Coast.
It's just so goddamn boring to watch on TV.
That's the problem.
It's the same thing over and over.
It's like pickleball.
Yeah, very similar.
They're too good.
They're too good to where a lot of the same things keep happening. Same's like pickleball. Very similar. They're too good. They're too good to where a lot of the same things
keep happening. Same thing with pickleball.
They're at the net.
It's over.
Then it's over.
It's fun games to play.
Poker was great.
I think it's almost making a comeback.
I think poker's going to make a comeback.
I would like to get into that somehow.
I don't know if ESPN still has rights to it.
Couldn't we just... I would like to get into that somehow. I don't know if ESPN still has the rights to it. It's just the time.
Yeah, but couldn't we just... I would imagine so.
Can we not just host the poker?
Because we have...
Get the whole cams.
Yeah, exactly.
I've looked into hosting poker tournaments for foundations,
my foundation or other foundations.
In Indiana, that's why Knights of Columbus here has a game
and American Legion has a game here.
There was a time where I was traveling around to these games around Indianapolis that's why like Knights of Columbus here has a game and American Legion has a game here there
was a time where I was traveling around to these games around Indianapolis whenever all my friends
that I played poker with got cut from the team so I had no more poker and I was going through like a
uh a knee rehab and so I was stuck in Indianapolis and I was literally like the only person on our
team that was in Indianapolis so I'd go in do rehab in the morning for my knee and then like
what am I going to do the rest of the day? And I found out that these games were existing. And I walk in,
there's a check-in, there's a cop at the door. They got dealers, they got an entire, it's like
a full on, you got headphones, you got turtlenecks, you got sunglasses. It's like, okay, okay. We got
the next Phil Ivey in here. That's exciting news. And it's like, I walk in and I start playing.
Nobody knew who I was at that point it was like awesome
so it was so awesome i'm like so can i just do this or how's this work there's like so many
different rules to be able to host one of those licenses and how many years you have to be in
indiana and like how you go about doing it that's why like vegas is obviously much easier to do it
for these casinos to do it but i wonder how it would be for us to like host a poker tournament
and stream it because the commentating is a big deal yeah who were the two commentators back in the world series
norm chad and god what was the other guys that was an actor he was a kid actor right with
the guy who was doing the the color commentary now he looked like well maybe a poker tour yeah
he looked like the yeah um world poker was great too yeah yeah those guys are great too
he was on that I believe
World Poker Tour they used to go to like islands and shit
That was fun to watch
But you know why they're going to the islands
Is for international
It's for those entire things
I'd like to get into that but I thought Cornhole was going to have a run
And then it hasn't
But I would like to get back into it
Summertime
Throwing bad
It's like a setting
It's where a setting.
It's where you are.
It's the setting sometimes.
Cornhole is just perfect.
But sometimes you can't force it, though.
You know, if you're going to – I agree.
I agree.
But if it becomes like the thing at the gathering, good. And everyone's waiting.
Hey, we got next.
Hey, yeah, that's the best.
People are mad.
People are crying because, hey, you guys have been talking.
You were rude in how you beat me 21-0.
That always happens.
Yeah, you don't go all the way to 21 for sure.
Yeah.
We know what's happening here.
This is 11.
Okay, thank you.
We don't have mercy rule.
What's skunk again?
You got to yell after.
You go up 3-0.
Do you guys play skunk?
Do we play skunk here?
I don't know.
It's on my house.
I don't know.
I don't know what was in this entire thing.
It is a Midwestern. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. It's a great house. I don't know. I don't know what was in this entire thing. It is a Midwestern.
Yeah, for sure.
It's a great game, dude.
Just like Euchre.
Euchre's Midwest.
That was great in Pennsylvania, actually.
Pennsylvania Dutch, but we don't have to get into it
because I didn't learn it until I got it to Indiana.
So that's me taking credit for it because I'm from Pennsylvania,
like you guys all do from every state out here that plays it.
But, like, it actually did come from our state, I do believe.
From Pennsylvania.
It's a Michigan game.
Definitely not New England.
It's definitely a Michigan game.
What does Bruce think?
Bruce is the fact guy.
Yeah, Bruce, what do you think the game Euchre,
what do you think that came from?
I'm buying the Pennsylvania story.
Okay, sweet.
That's good because I don't know if I created it.
That's fine.
Euchre's a great game.
One of the best card games.
Cards are awesome. I'm a love guy my grandma
taught me how to play cards whenever i was young like gamble like taught me how to do it because
you know i had add so i couldn't do it i wouldn't watch anything i wouldn't do anything
so my grandma tried to figure out how to you know she had to watch me like how do we it's
a time killer how do we contain this thing you know and then all of a sudden she was like hey
you want to make a nickel?
It's like,
yeah,
yeah,
I do.
Yeah,
I do.
And then we started gambling.
We started doing the entire thing.
And then that world series of poker thing starts happening.
Like literally a couple of years later.
And it's like perfect timing.
Just like,
bam,
bam,
bam.
And I get incredibly lucky with cards.
That is just kind of how it's always been.
Hopefully that'll maintain.
We got to start hosting more things here.
That's what I'm saying.
You know,
we're going to have people in here.
Sure.
We got to have maybe, I think, an NXT event, right?
Oh, yeah.
Tripp Lake said it.
Wrestling event is going to be happening in here.
We need to have a poker event in here.
We need to have maybe a sport that we create in here.
We need to utilize the Thunderdome to create more things that bring people together.
Hell, yeah.
Ain't that right?
Yeah.
Sports are the greatest uniter that we have.
Hell yeah.
Ain't that right?
Yeah.
Sports are the greatest uniter that we have.

That's why going into the Olympics, going into this weekend, watching this golf course,
beat the shit out of these golfers. We need to enjoy every single moment. And if it is the MLS
that has 14 games on at the same exact time, we need to try to find something that we absolutely
love. Ty Schmidt last night, I don't know if you know this,
but the MLS debuted a world record breaker.
What's that?
Ladies and gentlemen, at the age of 14 years, 293 days,
Kevin Sullivan of the Philadelphia Union
is the youngest professional athlete in sports history.
Kevin's rights are owned by Man City. Whenever he turns 18 out of the Philadelphia Union camp
there, where he is from, uh, played some minutes for the Philadelphia Union last night alongside
his brother, Quinn Sullivan, who had an absolute cracker of a goal both of them from
the city of Philly playing for the union him as a 14 year old he looks incredibly mature okay he
obviously looks if that's what 14 year olds look like that's awesome he's a dog but he also has the
moxie of a guy just like that 16 and 17 year old that was playing for Spain this dude took the ball
on took a couple runs took a a long shot. Him and his brother
worked a little combo here for his first touch in the game. That's his brother Quinn. So I assume
his parents, his family, the entire town was pumped about this. Ooh, ooh, little give and go. How you
doing? Keep it moving. He's got the flash. He's got the speed. He's got the style. He's got the moxie.
And the next time he gets the ball, he takes his long ass shot. I mean mean, a long-ass shot in which he could have passed the ball to his brother
who's on a run right behind him there to the left.
That's his brother.
Instead, he says, ah, I'm going to take a ripper here just to see if we can sneak one in.
So, he's a 14-year-old, and he has the wherewithal in his first ever professional game
to be like, I mean, if I knock in a nasty laser right now, this would be a moment.
We got a guy, AJ.
We got a guy.
I didn't know anything about this dude.
Yeah, he played last night.
He's the youngest player ever by 13 days.
The next closest, Freddie Adu,
who played for the DC United in MLS as well.
Funny story about Freddie Adu,
obviously a lot of people say like,
you know, nobody actually knows
Freddie Adu's actual age.
And that is obviously something that was said literally since the first tournament that Freddie Adu played in.
And the only reason why I know that is because in Bethesda, Maryland, I believe he played for the Potomac team.
My team from Pittsburgh, Beadling, was, I think, the first team to play against Freddie Adu whenever he came to the United States
of America, or the second team to play
against Freddie Adu
with his cup team. And boy,
they were telling us about him.
And is that Foss? I was going to say, is that a young
Michael Foss? That is Foss.
And that is Mike Foss, who is
I get, is Foss
younger than me or older than me? Do we know?
Foss, are you my age? You're Fos younger than me or older than me? Do we know? Fos, are you my age?
He's got the headset on.
You're one year younger than me.
Okay, so Fosso
at this one, I guess, is like 13
years old? You're 13 here?
He's got the headset on.
Okay, so this is after Freddie's already gone into this entire
thing. So Fosso
was there to see the Freddie Adu.
Freddie Adu's first weekend playing soccer in America, though.
My team got a chance to play against him.
And literally the conversation beforehand was just like,
just wait till you see, just wait till you see, wait till you see.
And he got on the field and it was like, holy, this guy's faster, stronger.
And he was like talking the entire time, like shit talking the entire time.
And then what he was doing with the soccer, like what he was doing with the ball as like a
13 year old, we were 13 or whatever we were 12. It was insane. We had a guy on our team though,
Pittsburgh kid, Mitch Miner, I believe is his name out of upper St. Clair. I haven't talked to him in
a long time. And I assume Mitch has probably told people about this throughout his life. I would like to be there to back it up.
Mitch bodied Freddie Adu
and he was actual 12, 13 years old.
And then late in the game,
Freddie did score a game winner.
It was like, you know.
But then we didn't know what Freddie would go on to be.
So like everything we watched Freddie do was like insane.
And I would like think to myself like,
Mitch, you, you got him.
Hey, we had a guy. We had a guy that handled it. But it's like these types of stories for soccer are good. watch Freddie do was like insane and I would like think to myself like Mitch you you got him hey we
we had a guy we we had a guy that handled it but it's like these types of stories for soccer are
good I think this kid is great for soccer he does his hair's sick obviously his outfit he understands
the moment he's already signed to Man City and with where the state of U.S. soccer is with everybody
just thinks that we're terrible which I mean is we are is worthy of thinking us
having a 14 year old who's able to hold his own on the field is good for the future aj it's good
for the future it's awesome when you say when he turns 18 he's owned by man you what exactly does
that mean man city uh man city so they made a deal with the philadelphia union that whenever he turns
18 philadelphia union will get five million dollars from Man City and then he will transfer, he will
be a part of their team and then they will have his rights. That's three and a half years from
now, obviously. He is still going to have a full Philadelphia Union career in the MLS, but like
$5 million seems light. He's making $500,000. And I guess there was like full on child labor laws
that were getting called into check here. I guess there was an article thaton child labor laws that were getting called into check here.
I guess there was an article that CBS put out that D-Bone found where I guess he couldn't make his debut in Canada over the weekend a couple days ago
because of some child labor laws things that take place,
and then he was able to go in.
I think there's going to be some shit about it all,
but like 14 years old, earning his way onto the—
looking comfortable, too.
Looking good.
Looked good. Yeah, it's like, why don't we start this? Excuse me too. Like didn't, didn't. Looked good. Looked good.
Yeah.
It's like, why don't we start this guy?
Excuse me.
I know he's getting sucked in.
He's 14.
Why don't we get this guy some time?
We saw what Yamal was able to do this weekend in the Euros.
It's like, we got a guy.
I'm excited about the future.
Shout out to his brother too, Quinn and his whole family.
Ty, I know you watched this last night and I know that you came in this morning and said you couldn't
wait to talk about Big Cav,
but what are your thoughts on the future of soccer? This has got to be
good. This is good for us. Well, I don't know.
It is. I mean, this kid obviously
is a star, but the only thing I was thinking
is, hey, we're looking for a new head coach right now,
obviously. At first, I was like,
listen, I'm tired. We've got to
hire someone who's not from the United States.
That's just the way it goes.
We're not very fucking good.
Whoever Gumpy said, he might be the guy.
Who was it?
Pochettino.
Pochettino, sure.
Patrick Vieira is out there too.
And he would be a great candidate as well.
But all I could think was, why don't we go down to Delco or wherever young Kevin's from, why don't we grab his dad
and have him be the head coach of the U.S. national team?
What do you think is his favorite cheesesteak?
He's a D'Alessandro's guy.
I happen to know that for a fact.
The stuff that's coming out of this guy's nutsack
just happened to produce two of the best young American players in
the MLS. This guy knows how to win. Maybe
we get some more juices pumping
out of this guy's nutsack and we get a couple
more good players for our national
team. Listen, I
was Captain America Christian Pulisic
all the way.
He ain't the fucking guy. Sorry to say
it, he ain't the fucking guy.
We got Kevin, We got Quinn.
Let's get Daddy Solvin to bust a couple more nuts.
Okay.
All right.
A couple other good players.
All right.
Yeah.
We're all picking up the Johns you're putting down.
Okay?
Just saying.
Those Johns over there, obviously, all jacked up.
But that is something to think about.
It is.
14-year-old kid, kid professional in his home city in
his hometown like think about his life think about that kid's life and he likes the Philadelphia
Union have fans over there and Mr. Sullivan's got to be feeling great yeah it's like Gronk's dad
over there in soccer is he getting homeschooled how is it they treat him like an actor during
the season like when they're like how's all that work so in Europe when you go to those academies
and I think Gump could probably correct me if I'm wrong,
and Grella probably would be able to in a much better fashion,
but when you go to those European academies,
which I think Philadelphia has,
I think Philadelphia has one of these academies.
I think some of these teams in MLS now have these academies
that they haven't had in the past.
It's like soccer, school, soccer.
It's kind of like a technical institute,
like how you do class, but then you also learn how to fix a fucking car or whatever it is.
They do that with soccer, too.
And then there's conditioning, cardio.
It's like a full life commitment.
That's why all these European places people think are so far ahead of us because their kids' lives are like we're doing soccer and school.
And then we're doing soccer and school.
And then next week, we're doing soccer and school and then next week we're doing soccer and
school and then guess what's happening two weeks from now soccer and school like that is kind of
that how ball terry like ball terry academy the tennis thing down there that marty fish was in
with andy rock remember seeing that documentary yes i think so that was exactly uh marty fish by
the way congrats on another big win yeah oh, yeah, Marty. He's a stud.
Absolute stud.
I enjoy the way he handles himself, too.
I like the way he goes about his business and does his thing.
But, yeah.
You know, he's almost like a black belt in jiu-jitsu now.
Of course.
Of course he is.
Legend.
He is.
I'm not sure how close, but I know he's fairly advanced.
Well, if you knew what color belt he was wearing, we'd be able to know.
Like, for instance, I got a brown belt on today.
Yeah, you do. I got a brown belt on. I think that's right
next to it.
You're close. You're right there.
I don't know if me and Marty's closer, but
I don't know.
Boom. One, two, three.
See what I did?
Boom. Tap. Oh, there it is.
Marty Fish is a dog.
We appreciate the hell out of him. So is Kevin Sullivan.
Joining us now is a man who might be able to shed a little bit more light
on the entire process, the entire system.
We hope he's the next head coach of the United States of America soccer team.
He is the head coach of Concava SC.
Ladies and gentlemen, Paisan hero, Tony Miola.
Yeah, Tony!
Hey!
Ah, Tony, you're so muted right now. All right. You're so muted right now.
You're so muted right now.
He's still going.
Tony, we can't hear a word you're saying.
Tony, we can't hear a word you're saying.
He's taking a screenshot.
Good pitch.
It's a good angle.
He looks jacked.
We can't hear you.
He does look sweet.
Got a good pace going.
We'll call you back.
We'll call you back.
We'll call you back.
Got the headphones.
You think I'll take them out?
He's out there working out.
That's because Gorilla has shamed him so much.
Yeah.
That's why Tony Mula is out there working out right now.
Can't get out from the Sioux.
Yeah.
Grella texted.
Didn't Grella say he walked by a TV, saw Tony Mula, sent a text, he goes, fucking figure
it out.
Yeah.
Bought in your shirt.
It's unbelievable.
But this Kevin Sullivan is good news.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, it is.
But, I mean, we are going to fucking waste his career.
Yeah, we got to figure it out.
MLS just made some major announcements today, actually,
that will allow them to spend more money
and loan players back and forth from other leagues.
Okay, what was the big announcement?
Can you do?
All right.
I mean.
But it's real.
It's real, though.
It's a real reset.
Like, Pulisic was the whole fucking thing
This whole time
He's going to be fucking 30
This guy starts for AC Milan
We haven't even been to a knockout round
Oh no we got beat by Bolivia
4-0
Winning CONCACAF and the gold cup is cool
No one gives a fuck about either of those tournaments
What? CONCACAF matters
Why the fuck
Clearly it's Copa and it's the Euros And it's the World Cup No one gives a fuck about either of those tournaments. What? Concava matters. Why the fuck?
Clearly, it's Copa, and it's the Euros, and it's the World Cup,
and we can't sniff shit in any of them. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is hopefully the future coach
of the United States men's national team, the head coach of Concava SC,
who had an incredible run at TST against all odds.
A man who can really cultivate a culture.
Ladies and gentlemen, Tony Mule.
Yeah, Tony.
What's up, boys?
How are you?
Coach, how are you doing?
What are we doing?
Get a little workout in, Donner?
Yeah, yeah.
I forgot how hard it was to run, Pat.
I got to tell you.
I figure that out every time I try.
I try my best, too.
Every time we try.
Like, let's get in shape.
Let's do this.
We're going to be fit.
It's everything.
And then you remember immediately how bad it sucks.
You got it, man.
Day one was all right.
Day two, three, four, they sucked, man.
But anyway, getting ready for TST, brother.
Hey, me too.
Let's do this, Tony, for each other.
For each other, Tony.
Hey, real quick.
I just heard Gumpy said that he was also assistant coach of yours, obviously.
He's from your coaching tree.
You need to know that.
Yeah, he was.
Gets a yellow card at halftime, tries to get a red card.
Yeah, I mean, there's a lot that goes into it.
He talked about how the MLS has signed some deal about loaning players amongst leagues today
and whatever the case.
Let's start with Cavan here.
Let's start with Cavan Sullivan here for the Philadelphia Union, the 14-year-old.
This kid's moxie confidence, seemingly the way he moves, he's going to be a guy.
Are we in a spot now where, okay, this is going to be normal for United States soccer,
where these academies are working, we're getting younger, we're getting better?
And what are your thoughts on him as a whole?
Well, look, the kid apparently can play, right?
And I think we're in a spot where we're going to see young players.
Now 14 is really really young and um but i think the one thing we maybe do better now than we did with
the freddie aduz of the world is give these kids um a little bit more time and give them better
training as well right in a better environment so when you're 14 or 15 or 16 and you step into
you know a first team you're better prepared and and know, I don't think we did a good job with Freddie Adu of doing that.
We just kind of threw him to the wolves and let him try and figure it out.
So hopefully they got that part figured out.
Okay.
And what does this mean, you think, for the MLS this whole doing deals with other leagues?
Have you heard about this or have you been in the middle of this run, Your Honor?
Yeah.
Look, it's – Kevin's – You know, he signed in Europe already,
so he's going to stay here for what we think is going to be two years, right?
And then he'll go over to Europe.
And I think what it is is European teams having an eye on what's happening
here in America with young players and seeing a bargain.
You know, you get players for a lesser value, if you will,
than you would other clubs in Europe.
And if they make it good and get to the first team and win things and, you know, become
superstars, teams here will get paid on the back end as well.
OK, so this is good news seemingly for the future of United States soccer.
Are we going to be good?
We suck, Tony.
Tony, we were so loud about how great we were going to be.
You heard us.
You were a part of the conversation.
I was I was I was a culprit, man.
There's no doubt we did.
We did not play well.
I think the culprit, man. There's no doubt. We did not play well. I think the change was inevitable.
And now we've got to get a guy that can lead this particular group
because they are a talented group.
Are we looking at him?
Yeah.
Tony, you're throwing your hand.
It's time.
Only if Gump will come with me.
That's the only way.
But I know he's got a pretty good job, so this is the only way I'm going to do it.
I'll pay him to do a couple different jobs.
If we have Gumpy on the side, could you imagine him in the box?
In the amount of these, whenever the thing goes to the side,
it will be fantastic.
He's the only guy ever in my life I had to tell,
hey, dude, man, can you not get a yellow card this game?
Can you try not to get a yellow card this game?
I had no idea.
When I went to talk to the referee,
some dude was screaming at the referee when I turned around,
and then I turned back around, and it was Gump's,
like giving the referee some sticks.
We're down to nothing at the time.
Came back at once.
Okay, sorry.
He said, I'm going to get the boys fired up.
You are the reason, brother. Hey, Tony, we appreciate you. Good luck on the rest of the time. Came back at once. Okay, sorry. He said, gotta get the boys fired up. Gotta motivate the boys.
You are the reason, brother.
Hey, Tony,
we appreciate you.
Good luck on the rest of the run.
Let's get in shape for TST.
You got it, brother.
See ya.
Nice job, Tony.
Yeah, Tony!
Just need a leader.
U.S. soccer is,
I mean,
they're never gonna be.
Bro, we got a 14-year-old.
No, that's the championship.
He's gonna go overseas and be like,
why the fuck would I play for Team USA?
I should just get citizenship in Spain.
No, we're going to cap him or whatever.
Yeah, he'll make one appearance for the United States,
and then he's stuck with our team forever.
I guess that's what other teams do.
I hope.
I really do.
And maybe by then we'll have a coach.
We need a great coach.
That's all.
We got the talent.
We got the pipeline of young talent. And all the great coaches. Bruce need a great coach. That's all. We got the talent. We got the pipeline of young talent.
And all the great coaches. Bruce knows.
He does. All the great coaches are saying
no. Do not. You just can't hire that
guy from LAFC, dude. You gotta
go somewhere fucking else.
Well, he's the favorite right now.
Exactly. That's my fucking point.
That's my fucking point right there.
No one wants to coach us, so we
gotta go to the fucking Backyard Soccer League
and have one of their coaches fuck you.
Backyard Soccer League has blown the war.
They have.
He's fucking done for the year.
What about David Beckham?
He's done for the year.
Beckham's an owner, not a coach.
He could coach the U.S. team, right?
Give Pat Guardiola $150 billion.
That's a good idea.
How much?
$150 billion.
He is up in city at the end of next year.
Bingo.
He's sticking around for Kevin.
He's sticking around.
I thought he was coming to the union.
Get his hands on him, then go back over with him.
West Virginia coach, when I was there, Marlon LeBlanc,
he's a part of the Philadelphia Union coaching.
We'll tire him.
There you go.
He's got a cool last name.
I don't know if he's the head.
I think he's a part of the.
So what?
LeBlanc. He's got to be a French fellow. He's awesome. He's awesome. Remember don't know if he's the head. I think he's a part of the so what LeBlanc
He's got to be a French fella. He's awesome. He's awesome. Remember we went back to go see him
He was just chewing out the team. I think you were with me Foxy
I was like, I'm gonna go stop in and see right next to the facility. Yeah
Yeah, like a the soccer teams in their practicing river. I'm like a coach the block in there like yeah
I'm gonna go say what's up
So I walk up there cuz I played on their team for a couple weeks, three weeks, the soccer team in the spring.
And the rules he was making up were just bullshit.
A losing team has to run.
I hadn't played soccer for three years at West Virginia.
And then in the spring, I went and played for the soccer team.
And I was going to play football and soccer.
That's what I was going to do.
And I thought, you know, let's see how this goes.
I legitimately thought, let's see how this goes.
And I was getting out of, like, Call of Duty for football,
which is the 6 a.m. You i got out of those got out of those
that's a great you get out of those that's a huge deal yeah huge huge those are yeah you go to bed
every single night no okay you're you got 13 alarms set you know if you do find a way to get
there on time like this is going to be death for two three hours yeah and coach stew who advocated this coach stew rest in peace absolute legend he um he was a special teams
coordinator and tight end coach and everybody sees his speech they shouldn't play the old
golden blue not this night you know that fiesta bowl the people that are on a knee around him
are the special teams guys and tight end guys so like we were his that was his first time being a
head coach we were like his his dude so like that and he would go on to become the head coach.
But that spring, Coach LeBlanc, I think, reached out to him or something happened for, like, hey, we're wondering if, you know, wanted to go over.
So, Coach Stu comes up to me and says, like, hey, do you want to go play with the soccer team this spring or whatever?
And that was after I'd missed those two kicks.
And, like, there was a lot going on in my life.
And I was like, yeah, maybe soccer is where I'm supposed to be.
Like, maybe this was the universe telling me, like, hey,
because my soccer career just stopped immediately.
Like, as soon as I get into football, it's like, turn back.
Like, don't even.
Got to go full force football here.
And college football is, like, every day.
So, it was, like, just over.
So, Coach Stu and I had, like, full conversation about it.
And Coach LeBlanc was a part of it.
He was very welcoming and hospitable and everything like that so we make the decision it's like yeah
i'm gonna go do that and coach stew was like don't you worry about our 6 a.m thing because
they got this stuff at five like we'll see how this goes in a few weeks or whatever
the soccer running was 70 times worse like maybe to 80 times i was dying i was i was getting back from these practices to my
roommates who are all football players you know and i'm just like actually dead and then just like
falling on the couch and they're like yeah smart this is the right decision this is the right this
is the right decision this entire thing but it was like coach leblanc was so cool and he's a part of
that philly thing he had posted a picture of this Kevin Sullivan kid on his Instagram like
a month ago, like maybe two months ago
or whatever. It was like our guy or whatever. I think
they love him. I think he's a good dude too, this Kevin guy.
All these young
super prodigies, I think in the modern
day with how much they hear from everybody,
they're told so much like, hey,
this is how you act. This is how you act.
This is how you act. This is how you act.
So I think he's like known that he's the guy obviously he's 14 older brother too older brother's a pro like i
think he's gonna be a good pro too which is like not scared to have moxie and style and everything
like that but i think he's gonna be like great representative for united states for soccer so
i'm pumped up for this kid congrats dude 14 years old in your home city pretty cool yeah awesome him jogging
on that field had to feel like i'm the 14 years old you're starting varsity for your high school
team's a big deal yeah you know yeah that's a huge deal he's jogging out there for the
professional team and it's just like yeah all his boys are in his stands sick this guy this
guy didn't help us build the boat. Yeah, exactly.
That's right.
That's what they're going to say.
That's what they say.
Yep.
Didn't paint it.
Didn't bring any of the snacks.
Nope.
Oh,
you miss us in our building session on the side of the lake.
And why?
Cause you got to play for the Philadelphia union.
Yeah.
Oh,
cool.
Oh, look who it is.
It's fucking Kevin,
Henry Rowland,
Gardner,
Sullivan. That's right. What a fucking Kevin Henry Rowling Gardner Sullivan.
That's right.
What a fucking...
Because he's probably got a whole other set of bullshit he's got to deal with.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
He's around all adults.
I mean, 14 years old, I'm sure he's very mature.
But, yeah, the dynamics that he is around now is crazy.
We're talking about child labor laws.
Think about all the shit he's missing out on.
But that is the soccer world.
In Europe, it is. That is is the normal yeah those prodigies like hey you're not this isn't we're not going to high school parties dude like you're not dances that's
fun you know we're dancing with the soccer ball yeah okay because we're trying to become professional
soccer players well there's like a barbecue thing happening sweet yeah we got conditioning 5 a.m
tomorrow you go if you want I mean I mean, that's on you.
It's like he's sacrificing a lot here
because of how great he is.
I think it's all going to pay off.
Especially for the United States of America.
Yeah, I hope so.
Gives our soccer squad some hope.
We'll tie Panama at the next Copa.
Shut up.
He's going to be 16 years old in that tournament.
You think we're going to tie anybody? No, Cavan's going to be 16 years old in that tournament You think we're going to tie anybody?
No, Kevin's going to
He's 14, 25 yards out
I'm going to have one here
I get it, but we did this with Pulisic six years ago
Pulisic wasn't 14
Pulisic's a dog, it's everyone else around him
I like Pulisic
I like Pulisic too
Especially when he's not a winner
But again, we're not winning anything.
You know what?
I'm worried you're not going to get back into soccer.
I'm glad you're picking that up because I'm laying it down pretty thickly.
So I'm glad that you've noticed that.
I'm done.
I don't know.
It's a beautiful game, brother.
I actually said this to you earlier.
They should take away the World Cup from us.
What?
That's right.
Fuck it.
We don't deserve it. Put it in France. Put Cup from us. What? That's right. Fuck it. We don't deserve it.
Put it in France. Put it in
England. Then it can come home.
Put it over there.
We want this. This is good for our country.
Think about the economical
boost that every city will get.
Look what just happened to Hard Rock.
Who cares?
The economical boost when we get
beat by fucking Mozambique
and they burn down whatever city that's in.
It gets us in the tournament, right?
If we're hosting, we get in.
Yeah.
Good thing.
We can get fucked by any team that we play against.
Turks and Caicos.
No, let's not be so pessimistic.
We're going to beat Qatar this World Cup.
That's fun.
He literally just needed a new coach.
Yeah, and you know what?
We need that coach to wear a fucking suit, too.
That asshole Berhalter wearing that fucking dry fit t-shirt.
Oh, you didn't like his behind-the-back passes and his brand-new dunks custom?
His behind-the-back passes were pretty cool.
There was a good highlight of him doing that.
I didn't see any of those because I stopped watching the fucking tournament
because I know we can't beat anybody worth a soul.
Come on.
Let's get out of here.
You need to turn that around.
This is USA.
We're going to the Olympics.
Get Mike Rubin to fucking coach the team.
22-1.
One of the best athletes on the face of the earth.
Ty grabbed the baseball.
Ty grabbed the baseball 40 minutes ago.
I was just finding a way I could work it in,
and that wasn't the best way to do it,
but I figured if I don't say something today, then we're not going to talk about it,
and it needs to be talked about.
Mike Rubin, billionaire founder of Fanatics, made his way to a speedometer pitch screen,
which I assume is at a Fanatics Fest at the All-Star Game somewhere, and he let it eat.
Did he break 100?
He did not break 100.
He threw a heat 48 miles an hour there.
And then this one, a little bit lower.
It slipped out of his hand early, 39.
You know, that next one would have been right down the middle, obviously.
Was that a blinker, that second one?
I think it was a slider.
Got away from it.
I don't know how this one gets put out.
That ball has to move.
39.
48.
48 was the first one?
Yeah.
It's not the speed so much.
It's not exactly the speed.
That's what we're talking about.
It's the speedometer.
Look.
Boom.
And then zoom in.
No, it's the movement, though.
Who cares about the speed?
It's the movement.
Look at the movement he is.
Yeah, he steps off the bump.
Don Trell Willis.
He's in Air Forces, too. Those are kind of thick.
It's hard to really turn over on them. Not many baseball guys at the White Party.
Yeah, you're right.
It's during the season.
Yeah, that is true, huh?
Could probably move it to the All-Star Bridge.
So he hasn't had
a pitch sesh on the
beach yet with like
Paul Skeen. And guess what?
He never will after Paul Skeen sees that.
What are you talking about? Paul Skeen wants to help him.
No, he doesn't. He said,
listen, pal, I can't fucking do anything for you.
Alright.
Alright.
I mean, look up Michael Rubin basketball
shot. I don't think it...
He's not a billionaire because
he can throw gas.
No, that's fine.
That's fine.
But after he throws that, he needs to turn around to that camera and make him that fucking
phone right now.
Right now.
And he needs to throw that thing down and stomp on it.
You can't let anyone see that.
You just can't.
That's why he's trying to sabotage all the jerseys.
Why?
Because he's jealous.
Okay.
All right, Brett.
We need to stop this guy. Maybe he just wants to wear a tarp. I haven't heard... He's trying to earn it. That guy will earn everything, too. okay that is a good point
maybe he just wants to wear a tarp
I haven't heard
he's trying to earn it
that guy will earn everything too
he's hard work
the jersey stuff
has kind of slowed down
did they get that
I wonder if they've
heard the
and I do wonder
if there is a evolution
of the jerseys
and everything
because that got loud
real quick
yes it did
because I mean
Fanatic's just kind of
we're a card company a collectibles company and then just boom we got deals with everything doing
everything for everybody i assume there's always going to be like an adjustment period there and
then if they're able to kind of sort it going forward that'd be great yeah i know they up
the nba finals jerseys i remember that being a thing at least with the celtics fans so i don't
know if they figured that out with those ones,
but I haven't heard anything about the MLB ones.
And I wonder, the Fanatics people were saying the leagues were the ones
that were picking what it was.
We were just the suppliers of the entire.
That was their kind of say.
But them becoming the suppliers at the same exact time as the issue
became like the story.
Was it the fabric?
Did the players not like the fabric, the colors?
What was it?
It was C3.
It was all just kind of cheaper, I assume.
It was all just kind of like cheaper made,
which I assume a decision was made business-wise by people at the league
for a price and then saying, hey, this is what you could get.
But them being the ones that were doing literally everything for everybody,
so every problem was going to one particular company.
It's like that's a real sink or swim type operation.
We're either going to go all in for everything,
and then if they're able to continue to go,
it should make things easier for people.
Should, if it works out.
But they've got their hands in everything.
They do.
Fanatics is everywhere.
Sportsbook.
They've got events that they're doing.
That one in New York, they're having a sports conference taking place.
They're merch for everybody.
They sell their shit, let alone.
I mean, they're doing everything
what's your business everything yeah that's not easy to you know no not at all manage hopefully
they're able to do it though you know hopefully they're able to do it marvin harrison stuff stop
with him uh i think so i think they got that cleared up they got an agreement somehow right
thanks just like arch banning's in the game yep that became an agreement remember like these
business things were being talked about and then all of a sudden it all
gets settled.
How?
Well, there's a exchange of payment from whoever to whoever and then you get sorted and then
we all love each other and then move forward.
That's business, baby.
That's right.
Hell yeah.
Speaking of business, baby, let's get the hell out of here.
This has been a phenomenal Thursday.
We can't thank you enough.
We're going to go watch some golf, keep up with the golf, catch up with the golf.
And then we're going to eye down what the future looks like for the Olympics.
How are our speedwalkers, Bruce?
I have no idea.
Come on.
I know the basketball team is like minus 500.
So that's nice. We can get down 500 bucks, win 100.
Okay. How about the gymnastics team?
I don't know.
I was pissed off to find out.
In the 100-meter freestyle, we are not favored.
We are like the third or fourth favorite.
You're saying swimming now.
Yeah, yeah, this is swimming.
Freestyle, swimming, the 100-meter freestyle.
And men or women?
Men.
Who is our guy?
Is it that 14-year-old?
Or 16-year-old?
What was the?
Dressel?
That's not the 16-year-old. Yeah, he's the old firm.
He's our guy. Caleb and his last name started with like an L, What was the... Dressel? That's not the 16-year-old. Yeah, he's the old firm. He's our guy.
Caleb and his last name started with like an L, I think.
Caleb Dressel?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Dressel's first name is Caleb.
That's Dressel's name, yeah.
You thinking of Jason Lezak?
What the fuck?
Bruce, this is what we're talking about.
Information only, not punditry.
You asked me about the Olympics.
Well, yeah, we were looking for information.
And I don't know.
We appreciate you, Bruce.
Thanks for your honesty. Can't wait to see you back here tomorrow.
Let's get out of here.
We've got Kyle Busch in here the first hour, live from
Thunderdome. They've got a NASCAR race at the
Indianapolis Motor Speedway this
weekend. Two of them, I think. One on Saturday, one on Sunday.
Should be great. Kyle Busch is going to win both.
I think we're going to have a race out here or something.
Maybe a little...
Like a car thing or what?
Yeah, we got these little go-kart things.
Oh, yeah. Those are sweet.
Could also do, like,
remote control.
Like Mario Kart?
No, no, no. Like one of those little cars.
Like a little remote control car.
I'm sure he's good at it.
These racers like
they legitimately like whoa if they got wheels and we're racing you know like i guess i assume there
is a an opportunity for him to be great yeah how are we at that are anybody in here oh yeah oh yeah
i was so good i uh kind of up my foot actually holy so when i was a kid uh we just
cracked open pandora's box here.
So what are we talking about here just so we can get this?
Yeah, just a little.
So two little monster trucks, you know, one on the left, one on the right,
you know, one to go, one to turn, whatever, just normal standard.
Me and my brother were racing one time.
We were living on Irvin Street at the time, completely irrelevant.
Shout out to Irvin Street.
And I won.
I was jumping up and down.
We did just a little race around our little duplex.
And I was jumping up and down.
And I jumped up so high off the couch onto the car, right?
So classic, fine.
You're a kid.
Doesn't matter.
I go to walk away.
Car's dragging behind me.
I'm not really sure what's going on. I look down, the antenna went
between my toes
and into my big toe.
And I had to go to the hospital
and they had to cut it out.
I knew where you were headed. You didn't have to say the whole...
Well, I mean, I was telling a story.
Was the car okay?
Yeah, we didn't need to hear you getting...
That's the thing, the car stopped fucking working because the top of the antenna
was in my fucking big toe, so we had to throw that thing. Yeah, you got stabbed that's the thing. The car stopped fucking working because the top of the antenna was in my fucking big toe,
so we had to throw that thing.
Yeah, you got stabbed.
That's great.
I'm really happy to hear you crushed yourself in the celebration.
It was so fucking nuts, dude.
They had to put me in a straight jacket.
I was not happy going into that fucking operator.
You had just won a race, too.
I think about the roller coaster.
Cloud nine, man.
Cloud nine.
So much adrenaline.
So much.
So happy, and then so mad.
How old were you, Con?
I think I was like six years old, seven years old.
Have you raced one since then or are we just going off of that particular race?
No, I've raced one since then.
Okay, good.
That didn't stop me.
It's just like NASCAR.
You get a crash, it doesn't mean you're not getting behind the wheel.
Yeah, for me it probably would, though.
Not me.
I respect that.
Let's get the fuck out of here.
Did I make any shots? I didn't.
I just bought a sweet little
remote-controlled alligator head that you can
go around a pool and control it and scare
kids. Yeah, those are awesome.
I've seen those a couple times. You buy
a lot of those pool gimmicks and underwater gimmicks.
Yeah, well, my sister-in-law
put, yeah, I like the torpedo. You know, I love
the water, but my sister-in-law and brother-in-law put in a pool that we can walk to across our yard.
So my kids are there all the time.
So that alligator, you know, they know how to market to you.
So believe it or not, I believe Instagram or something.
Boom, alligator floating head, I can control.
Here we go.
Sign me up.
Yeah, you got influenced.
Yeah.
It was a good gift, though.
It was a good gift.
Absolutely.
Was it yesterday, too, on Amazon two days ago?
Because it was Prime Day. Prime Day. Prime Day. Oh, no, It was a good gift. Absolutely. Was it yesterday, too, on Amazon two days ago? Because it was Prime Day.
Prime Day.
Prime Day.
Oh, no.
I've already employed it.
I've already used it.
The Gator's already been in the water.
I got it.
Yeah.
What if your kid takes out a shotgun and shoots that thing right in the head like they do
when they go gator hunting down?
Yeah.
That'd be sick.
You ever seen those videos that I'm just like, yep, here it is, and...
Night, night.
Dead.
Mm-hmm.
Have you ever been out in the swamplands?
Back in the day, I used to play an AAU tournament down in New Orleans every year.
We'd go out on the airboats and do all that.
That whole thing.
I went frogging.
Sweet.
I went frogging in Louisiana one time in a swamp on this little boat.
And frogging is like the bullfrogs, and they stand on the side of the—
Spotlight them, don't you?
Spotlight them?
Yeah, because it's like deer in headlights type thing. They freeze, and then you on like the side of the spotlight them don't you yeah because it's like
deer and headlight type thing they freeze and then you you you're at the edge of the boat and you
grab it and then you put in an american gladiator cylinder like that is that's literally what you do
that is how you complete getting from hand first of all spotlight to hand a lot of work like not
easy because that fucker's a frog right it's going to be able to jump in a slimy and swamp
land here. So what is...
Yeah, you got a gator coming up.
You just got to kind of just not act
like there is any gators, even though on
the boat to get here, there were fucking
just gators' eyes and
heads everywhere, because you're doing this at night. It's in the middle of the night.
Really? So these fucking gators'
eyes are just on top of the water
and then you the
lights are out there so you just see their fucking eyes and i'm from pittsburgh i'm not supposed to
be anywhere so i'm like so these are how many are around they're like hundreds if not thousands of
gators right i'm like so if this stops working what do we we just yeah we're just fucked yeah
they're like yeah well somebody come get us but yeah
we're just they're not gonna jump in unless you know we reach out which we will be doing for the
i'm like getting that whole cool that's the thing but that was like a sweet that was a pretty sweet
moment and then they wanted me to potentially go gator hunting the next day and i was out and they
showed me a video of how it works and i'm like yeah you shoot them in the shooting between the
eyes yeah they're just on the boat what'd you do with the frogs i put them between the eyes? Yeah, they're just on the boat. What did you do with the frogs?
I put them in the American Latte Air Cylinder, and then I just didn't even think about what happened.
I think it became pets.
Wallets, belts.
I think it became pets.
They re-released them to another area, I think.
They need to populate.
I think that is what they do, yeah.
I think they put it back in a swamp.
And the gator might eat it or something like that, but everything is fine.
And when I grabbed it, I was very delicate every time I grabbed it it was super you know make sure you open your hands like that you get you got him to jump into your palms you said eventually i spotlight and
then i put like an insect down i was like come on and it actually put a tongue out and then
would like spider-man would fall so cool so cool and I would throw it into the fucking... It actually would jump off my hand
into the American Gladiator
cylinder.
That was a wild thing.
Those people down
in Louisiana...
Different life.
It is.
Hogging.
I went hogging down there.
Couple dogs.
That was crazy.
Oh, did you stab it
in the heart?
No, no.
Tied it up.
Okay.
And then they re-released it.
Never saw it die.
But I did see some dogs
scare the shit
out of some hogs.
I've seen some guys where they'll of some hogs i mean just like
some guys were like they'll clear the dogs and then they're like all right you go harpooning
yeah yeah that's not not who i got that subtle bit i know i know people i know people baby no
yeah not what not connor's telling that thing down the middle no it was a pet i think we we
tied up the legs so it would be a pet sure this hog well
those things aren't pets down in texas they're overrunning their faces well that's why they're
overpopulated in this area legs leads those hunts schlegel leads leads hunts for wild hog and feeds
them to the homeless people with dog okay of course feeding the homeless people that's good
man it's very kind you know he legit does he would do that in high school yeah that's what the people
told me too for the ones that weren't made pets. They said this is going to feed the homeless people or whatever.
He's doing the dogs, the dog hunts.
Dogs find them, and then old Papa Schlegs comes in with a knife.
Yeah, so you got two different dogs.
You got the bay dogs, right?
They get sent out there.
They're like retriever types, and they have GPS systems on them,
and they go and keep the hogs at bay, if you will, and they bark.
And then all of a sudden, we got some bulldogs coming out and those these dogs are i mean valerie
uh my dog is half pitbull half sharpay she's got the pitbull head the whole thing the most
loving i mean just like pitbull dogs are like the most loving caring dogs oh yeah but
without training if you put them into the woods and there is a hulk that is potentially threatening
another dog that it knows seemingly yes this fucking pit bulls will run faster than any dog
you have ever seen miss every tree somehow and then get that dog or that hog to get
on its side and as soon as hog gets on its side from attacking ear tackle like they're coming in
blindside tackle old school football they're going hell with the helmet yep from this they're
blindsiding these helmet to helmet on this hog and as soon as the hog gets down you you're tying up
the yeah you're hog time oh yeah you're tying up the hog time.
You're not doing the whole thing.
All the bay dogs go nuts all around.
And then they're doing this thing to get the pit bull's mouth unlocked.
It's got a locked jaw.
It's like, get it, get it, get it.
It was chaos in the middle of fucking woods.
But then as soon as it was afterwards, I'm like, that hog will make a good pet.
Yeah, yeah.
That shit was so badass.
It was sick.
You get a real rank bastard, and you got to worry about your bay dogs if your badass big dog doesn't get there in time, you know?
Yeah.
I saw Pitbull over creek catch hog on the other side.
Yeah, weapon.
So, like, there was hog runs cross creek, bay dogs on bank,
so can't really go anywhere. Bay dog's on bank.
So can't really go anywhere.
So hog not happy.
Pit bull through woods.
Down and back over creek.
Boom.
Sot like fucking arm drag on this thing. And this hog had to just be like, what the fuck?
Where'd this thing?
And all of a sudden we're talking.
It was insane.
It was epic.
But yeah, you're right.
They're ruining all the fucking farms and shit.
I mean, that's just what I guess hogs do is they just ruin shit.
They just populate too.
I guess they have tons of babies and just keep them going.
Yeah, they do like boning.
I don't know what that's all about.
Pigs do.
You got to gut them.
Oh.
That looked good.
It did.
It felt good.
