Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to our Humble Abode, the Thunderdome.
On this Aaron Rodgers Tuesday, September 24th, 2024, this program starts now.
Football!
It is wonderful. Week three of the NFL season wrapped up last night with a doubleheader on Monday Night Football.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have a lot more questions than answers as the Buffalo Bills just did their thing the entire evening.
Josh Allen, don't look now, looks better than he has ever looked.
And Buffalo was on fire.
Then in the other game, hello, Jaden Daniels.
This dude is an absolute dog.
Cliff Kingsbury obviously had the offense humming.
And what the hell is going on in Cincinnati?
A lot of questions, a lot of conversation.
There are three teams that are 0-3, five teams that are 3-0, everybody else in between with a lot of season
left, but boy, it feels like it's time to hit the panic button in a couple different places. And if
you're a team like the Commanders, you got to be saying thank you, hallelujah, we got the future
here. So it's a glorious Aaron Rodgers Tuesday. He'll be joining us in the second hour. Dallas Goddard of the Philadelphia
Eagles who ran 20.19
miles an hour this past weekend.
In a 170-yard performance against the New
Orleans Saints. You might recall
him striding out down the
close sideline in the fourth quarter
whenever they needed one against the
New Orleans Saints. Minute 13 left.
Down five. Don't worry.
Give it to Dallas Goddard out of South Dakota State University.
Go big, go blue, go Jackson.
That man right there will join us in about 19 minutes.
Now, DeMar Hamlin will be joining us in about 39 minutes or so,
fresh off of his first ever interception last night.
Obviously, his story, his entire, you know, him back on Monday Night Football,
having this type of night and this type of performance,
having this type of memory is obviously a wonderful thing,
a beautiful thing for the Yinzer.
And everybody has followed along with his story.
Now, that was an overthrow by Trevor Lawrence,
which certainly will go into the conversation that people are having today.
They're starting to call him a word that rhymes with trust.
What?
No.
They're saying they don't have any trust in this guy that potentially is a b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b- We don't know how everything's happening down there. But what we do know is the commander's going to be pumped.
And I'm excited for the state of current football.
Talk to the tables here at Boston Corner at Ty Schmidt.
Aaron Rodgers joins us in the next hour.
Fresh off a massive, glorious victory on Thursday night.
How do you think he's going to be feeling?
What do you think he's going to want to talk about?
I think he's going to be feeling awesome.
You know, he's got the kind of mini bye week.
And also, he knows, you know knows that was a big moment obviously going back to MetLife
getting his first win there
really delivering a vintage Aaron
Rodgers performance. The NFL in general
is just better when Rodgers
is at the top of his game. So yeah, I
will be very interested to
see how he's feeling. I'm also
excited to see if he watched any of the football this
weekend because I kind of just want his take
in general about what we've been seeing
from the quarterback play as a whole.
Anytime you get him fresh off a mini-bye week,
he will say, I think he'd see
all of it and then drops. Yeah, knows everything
that happened in every game. Yeah, and then in
a college game, he'll be like, I don't really get to
see whatever it is. Archman
and Quinn, you are certainly, he'll
have a full-on take on it. The Jets are in a great spot, he'll have a full on take on it.
The Jets are in a great spot. We'll do some journalistic
standards as well. Maybe write some
things that come from a New York Times article
potentially about what's happening over there at the
New York Jets. Excited to chat with
Aaron Rodgers. One half of the hammer.
Cowboys AP tone. I know you're
excited to talk about Josh Freak and Allen Powell.
You mean the best quarterback in the NFL?
You're willing to say that yesterday Bill Belichick called the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback room
maybe the best quarterback situation in the NFL.
That was.
That thing obviously had a lot of reactions.
Sure.
One way or the other.
But this morning, Tony Diggs came in, put his cowboy hat down on the bar.
And so I'll say it.
Josh Allen's the best quarterback in the NFL.
Last night was a Josh Allen show through and through.
Looked like he was having an absolute blast from the beginning of that game
to the end of that game.
He was hitting everybody on his team for points.
Shakira's going to be wild to watch.
Kincaid's obviously bananas across the back.
It's like this team, seemingly, we didn't have much conversation
about their weapons going into the season.
We didn't know what this iteration of the Buffalo Bills was going to look like.
Anytime you're a good team, you have to go through different chapters.
You have to evolve.
You have to get rid of players that you love, and they love you.
Morris last night, former center of the Buffalo Bills,
now playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Went up to Coach McDermott afterwards and said, I love you, Coach.
And that's because he's experiencing what's going on down there in Jacksonville right now.
But this is what happens whenever you're good.
Josh Allen was going to be tested.
He was going to be judged.
Post Stephon Diggs, how are you going to play?
He's playing his best ball and he looks like he's having
a blast out there doing it all.
He's just throwing it to wherever the offense
dictates he throws the ball. It's awesome. He looks
like he's having fun. And I'm saying that
this morning and I was allowed to say that this morning because
Patrick Mahomes came out and said, I'm not playing great right now.
He's got five touchdowns, four interceptions.
So no, he's not. Right now, Josh Allen's
got nine touchdowns, no interceptions. So no, he's not. Right now, Josh Allen's got nine touchdowns, no interceptions. So as of
right now on September 24th,
Josh Allen is playing like the best quarterback in the
NFL. There were a lot of
people thought there was going to be a huge drop-off because of
Diggs and Gabe Davis is gone and Mitch Morris is
gone, but I know Jacksonville sucks
and you're not allowed to say the Bills are good because Jacksonville
sucks. I found that out last night. Of course. That's on me.
That's my fault. But the Bills
look awesome. The Bills look like a wagon.
Look like they're having a great time.
And I don't think that window is closed yet on the Buffalo Bills.
Yeah, I mean, whatever you talk about,
Josh Allen seemingly playing his best football,
it looks like he's the most free.
Yeah.
It looks like he's the most free.
Definitely the most happy he's ever been.
For sure.
Without a doubt.
I mean, he's always, you know, we see him at practices.
We'll get some viral videos of him dancing, you know, and doing Josh Allen stuff. Pranking people. Yeah, he's always, you know, we see him at practices. We'll get some viral videos of him dancing,
you know, and doing Josh Allen stuff.
Pranking people.
Yeah, he's so funny.
And then they'll do like,
hey, the best shit talker who talks the most shit
is Josh Allen.
So you hear about that?
But it just looks like he's a little kid out there.
It legitimately looks like he's a little kid,
but he's not a little kid.
No.
He can run you over at any given moment
and will do that.
It's like the way he plays, the style in which he plays, so much fun.
We're taking shots.
We're talking shit.
We're running people over.
Defense also playing great.
Now Jacksonville sucks.
They do.
They do.
Obviously the iteration of this entire thing.
But defense plays phenomenal as well.
Do they have it up there in Buffalo, D-Butch, you think, this year?
Is this the year the Buffalo Bills get over the hump?
Is this the year that the Buffalo Bills fans have been waiting
since the missed kicks?
Is this the time?
Whenever they lose Stephon Diggs and they lose a bunch of named players.
Jordan Boyer, all pro-po on the defensive side.
He's gone.
There's a lot of people that leave.
Is this the time for the Buffalo Bills?
All of Von Miller, Wash.
What did he do last night?
Get another sack?
I mean, they're built.
They play hard
week in and week out
and they still will get
healthier throughout the year.
So they're clicking
on all cylinders right now.
Kincaid showed up.
Keion Coleman
even had a big play.
Shakur,
I think he'll continue
to be kind of
Josh Allen's
number one target.
But it's not like
coming in as a defense,
you can say,
all right,
let's take away Diggs.
Let's take away this guy.
Like,
the run game with Cook
under this Joe Brady call offense has been great.
And Josh Allen, you mentioned, just being free, just letting it fly.
And when you're playing, when you get that Josh Allen experience,
obviously it's going to be a ton of good, sprinkling a little bad here.
We haven't seen much bad early on.
So it's great right now.
Everything looks great.
Yeah, we haven't seen a turnover machine.
No.
You know, which is he'll lead the league in touchdowns,
and then he'll have the most amount of turnovers as well.
And it's like, well, that's Josh Allen football.
You're going to play with that for what he's going to create.
But now he's not forcing anything anywhere, seemingly.
Yeah.
Just allowed to kind of – and by allowed,
and I think a lot of people said he took shots to find Diggs afterwards
whenever he said everybody's just not worried about stats
or anything like that.
I don't think just because he says that he's taking a shot at somebody else. But whenever
you have somebody as talented as Stephon Diggs, game plan is get ball to person. Why do you have
him on your team if you're not going to get him the ball? And obviously everybody talks about
the tension and the potential negative reaction from a wide receiver if he doesn't get the ball
enough. Quarterbacks know that. Teams, everybody knows that. We talked to Aaron Rodgers. He said,
got to get the ball to five. I got to get the ball to Garrett.
Well, every quarterback knows got to get ball.
If you have a guy who is different than everybody else,
you're going to try to get him the ball more.
I mean, that's just naturally going to take place.
So, whenever that person's gone and then now it's just like, okay,
I, best playmaker on team.
So, like, who do I want to get ball to as opposed to who do I have to get a ball
is a very fascinating, freeing feeling.
And once again, I don't think that's a shot at Stephon Diggs.
I think that's just him accepting what the reality of the situation is
and being very happy about it.
And he needed that early on in his career
because you saw his numbers and his development before Stephon showed up.
When you have a guy who every time in a one-on-one situation,
he's going to get open.
He's going to win a one-on-one matchup unless the defense has to shift guys,
have to roll up and put two guys on him, and that helps free other guys up.
When you have a guy like Diggs, he's going to make your quarterback better,
but you can't get to a point where you're like, okay,
now he understands the game more.
He sees it differently.
You got more balance on the offensive side.
Even if the run game necessarily isn't working,
Josh Allen is a run game in himself.
If somebody's not open, I could run around and break the defenses back with my own leg so i think he needed digs for that phase in his career and now he's at a point where
he he doesn't at this point but that's not a knock on digs when you are stefan digs when you are that
talented ever receiver of course you want the damn ball even we saw in the other game and everybody's
going to want you to get the ball exactly we saw in the other game with Terry McLaurin we saw the quarterbacks that have been throwing him the
ball he's been quiet going up until uh Monday night uh game last night and he was like hey you
know be patient I'm not gonna make a scene I'll wait for it and when it comes my call my shot is
called I'll show up yeah the obviously the Josh Allen situation with the Buffalo Bills seems to
be great yeah okay and they dog walk the Jacksonville Jaguars. It's ugly down there.
They're getting better, though.
Remember we saw them on draft
night? Remember you saw them
I think we
saw... Yeah, was it
Tony Khan? I don't know what his official title
is. He's like the football czar down there
or something like that. No, he's chief football
strategist. You're right. Chief football
strategist. And he deals with all the undrafted free agents. Yeah, and he also
had a broken neck during draft day. He did. He had a broken neck during draft day.
Did he get that from football? No, he got a pile drive. He got a tiny corn driver.
And I think once I watched the documentary, I realized, the guy has actual
say around the Jaguars. Did not know that. That was shock of a century.
Thought it was just a title. Honestly, genuinely.
Did not know that. I don't know how you're able to balance
it all. And are you balancing anything?
I don't know. That is a
phenomenally impressive thing. But I think a lot
of their fans are starting to worry.
A lot of their fans are starting to try to figure out.
There was a video
about that draft night and everything.
And I thought it was a
gimmick. A joke, a ruse.
To work.
This guy's drafting.
He's making football decisions.
That's literally what we're saying.
I know.
That was a surprise of the century for all of us, I think,
watching that video.
And it's like, hey, good on you.
Yeah, I know his ball.
I think a lot of people are wondering.
Or does he?
I think that's what a lot of people are wondering.
I don't know.
I think they got the answer.
I don't think they're wondering anymore.
I think they know now, like, oh, okay, we have a dipshit.
A lot of ball left.
A lot of ball left.
A lot of ball left.
A lot of ball left to Jacksonville.
Let's remember that.
And Jacksonville always gives the Colts problems.
So I will have nothing but respect for the Jaguars whenever they take the field.
But, boy, they haven't won in a long time.
They just paid a lot of money to somebody who hasn't won in a long time.
And then you're seeing stuff with your eyes when you're watching a game.
It's like four or five, okay, we're going to see some development, hopefully,
at that quarterback position down there.
Because we'd all like to see Trevor shine.
Seems like a good dude.
Mac Jones got the ball a couple times last night.
He did.
He looked good.
And he lost it to the other team.
And it is.
Got a block for the guy.
That particular game, not good for Jacksonville, especially in primetime.
People are going to talk about it.
Remember, we like Doug Peterson.
We respect what's going on.
But we had no idea Tony was actually.
That hands on.
We had no idea.
No.
That was a surprise.
It was.
You'll get it figured.
Good luck out there.
You'll get it figured.
That always works out when that happens.
Always.
Always.
Always.
Speaking of working out, the other game.
Now, there was two games on at the same damn time.
Okay?
And shout out to Louis Riddick and to Orlovsky and Fowler
and Laura Rutledge calling the game on ESPN.
That inevitably was a blowout in the first 30 minutes.
Knew that thing was over quick.
There was another game on, on ABC.
Thank God.
And I will tell you what.
There is one story coming out of that game, and it is this.
If you get a Jaden Daniels, and I think Jaden Daniels to me is going to be the steal of the draft.
All of you guys are going to have all your NFL gurus on for the draft,
and they're all going to fall in love with Drake May,
and they're all going to fall in love with Caleb Williams.
And I'm just telling you as we sit here right now,
before the personal workouts and the combines workout, the guy to look out for is Jaden Daniels. This dude was an absolute monster last night.
Jaden Daniels, drafted to the Washington Commanders.
New ownership, new feel, new vibes, new legacy.
And Jaden Daniels, seemingly out of of lsu is the guy right now now
i'm not saying that because his first touchdown pass in the nfl was to an offensive lineman
who uh was very apparently a q dog and very very nimble with the celebration immediately afterwards
i'm not saying he's the guy because on fourth down in the fourth quarter he looks over at the
sideline he goes no no let's go up fought need need to keep going. And they go ahead and do it. I'm not saying he's the guy because he answered
Joe Burrow in Cincinnati on Monday night multiple times in the second half. I'm saying he's the guy
because his entire team believes in him. And that is the only rookie I think thus far where it is
very obvious that he has taken over the culture, the locker room, and everything.
We thought Caleb was going to potentially be able to do it after watching Hard Knocks
up there with the Chicago Bears.
Now preseason has won.
He has struggled a little bit.
He's a rookie in the NFL.
That's how it's going to go.
Jaden Daniels is an absolute monster.
This dude is fun to watch.
He's fast.
He doesn't get hit.
He's a little thin.
Yeah, he's a little thin.
So you wonder if he's going to be able to do the same stuff he did in college running-wise
because once a grown man hits you, maybe things will be a little bit different.
He has that knack not to get hit.
He can spin it, and his moxie is bananas.
That touchdown throw to Terry McLaurin at the end of this game.
Dot.
Dot.
Absolute incredible catch by Terry McLaurin.
You talked about Terry McLaurin just moments ago.
They put that graphic up of all the quarterbacks that have thrown to him. You're talking about damn near everybody that's played in the NFL as a backup quarterback has thrown to Terry McLaurin just moments ago. They put that graphic up of all the quarterbacks that have thrown to him.
You're talking about damn near everybody that's played in the NFL
as a backup quarterback has thrown to Terry McLaurin,
and he has had over 1,000 yards with all of them.
This dude is a beast.
He's an Indiana kid, Indianapolis kid,
so obviously we enjoy watching that take place.
But they got the guy.
They got the future there in Jane Daniels,
and last night it was on display, I think.
Yeah, it's early, obviously, but he looks great.
No turnovers, no punts. No turnovers last night, no on display, I think. Yeah, it's early, obviously, but he looks great. No turnovers, no punts.
No turnovers last night, no punts last two weeks.
I know Caleb Williams told Torrey Taylor before the season,
hey, you're not going to be punting a bunch.
Maybe Jayden should have said that.
It's kind of back-to-back years now.
He's been the quarterback number two pick.
They tried to make him look like a dipshit preseason or draft process.
Ended up kind of being that guy at least early on.
But taking care of the football as a young guy, you know, using his legs when he needs to,
throwing the ball away when he needs, only two incompletions last night.
I mean, he just got – it looked like he's got it figured out.
You know, Cliff's got him playing a good ball.
He's playing quick.
So if he sees the read, he sees the window, he makes accurate throws.
And that last deep ball to Terry McLaurin, like, he knows he's getting hit.
He sees his cover zero He knows I have to beat this blitzer for right-hand side with this throw
Stands in the pocket as a smaller guy and throws an absolute dot in the biggest moment
You know if his short NFL career on prime time I mentioned it now not always right
But you know 60% of time I'm right the time. And he showed up under the bright lights, man. Big time
player, man. I loved everything I seen
from this young kid early on.
To your point, here's some stats from Hemba over the
last 50 years. There are
three instances in which a team went back
to back games without punting.
The 2004 Steelers,
quarterbacked by Ben Roethlisberger, week 15
and 16. Okay, that's late into
the year, obviously. 2021 Bills by Joshberger, week 15 and 16. Okay, that's late into the year, obviously.
2021 Bills by Josh Allen in week 16 and 17.
Late in the season, obviously.
And especially with how offenses have gone this year thus far. And then the 2024 Commanders, weeks 2 and 3.
Got a good punter, too, right?
Tress Way.
Absolute dog.
Tress Way, also completely cool.
Not punter.
Been around a long time.
If we figure this thing out on offense, that would be great news.
If we're going to win games, that would be absolutely great news.
Jaden Daniels had two incompletions last night.
One was a miscommunication, and one was an overthrow.
So literally only one mistake last night as a rookie.
We just saw what C.J. Stratton did last year with the Houston Texans.
Once again, we're only three weeks in.
So we've got to make sure we remember that as we're kind of chit-chatting
about it but we thought what CJ Stroud did last year was an anomaly number two overall pick yet
again to your point Darius J Butler seemingly doing great and Cliff Kingsbury's over there
oh yeah dialing it up you mean that college offense yeah the basic uh Cam Taylor Britt did
come out and say that was not shot I was just saying what it was.
Yeah, we lost it.
Okay, so I'll leave my words.
Yeah, and I'll move on.
Nice, good humility.
For sure.
I respect that.
That's what they're about.
And faced the music.
And faced the music immediately afterwards, talked about it, and moved on.
But Cliff Kingsbury, who might still be getting paid from the Arizona Cardinals.
I have no idea how those contracts work.
Coaches have the greatest racket on them.
By far.
Those guys, they're guaranteed contracts forever. I forget what number it was, like $180 million or something like that?
Yeah.
$800 million was being paid
out to fired coaches or something from the NFL.
Roger Goodell sent out, this was like last year, two years
ago, Roger Goodell sent out a memo to all the
teams like, hey, just want to let you guys know,
you're paying $800 million to fired
coaches. Just if you want to
slow down a little bit on this entire thing.
Cliff Kingsbury with Jaden Daniels seemingly match made in heaven over there, Ty.
Yeah, for sure.
I mean, and obviously early on when he first got the Arizona job,
the Cardinals started out, what, 7-0 or 8-0 or something like that.
So, like, having a guy like that, I mean, he knows how to use them, obviously.
Jaden Daniels is unbelievable. We saw him in college
and I think people even saying last night,
I was a little, when it was like, hey, he's played in
big games before. I get it, but
a big game in the SEC is still
much different than playing Monday
night football on the road against
a guy who's a top five quarterback
in the NFL in Joe Burrow.
I'll tell you what, if they keep playing like this,
if he can stay upright, obviously we talked about how he's kind of frail.
McCaffrey, by the way.
Yeah, exactly, McCaffrey.
Another one.
And outside of Terry McLaurin, like, they have so many young weapons.
It kind of reminds me a little bit of, like, the Packers last year with Jordan Love.
Like, these guys all kind of getting their meaningful snaps at the same time
and being able to grow together.
I mean, I'll tell you what, they could be special this year.
You never know.
You look at that division, it's like all of a sudden, hey,
why not the Commanders?
Okay, speaking of the division,
the Commanders are currently two and one tied for first place with the NFC East.
With who?
Them Johns over here.
The English Johns.
From the Philadelphia Eagles.
Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen,
is a man who's in his seventh season for the Philadelphia Eagles out of South Dakota State University.
Ninth fastest guy in the NFL.
Whoa.
Ninth fastest human in the NFL.
Moving.
170 yards he went for the other day.
Down there in the...
The wall yards.
Thunderdome.
No.
Superdome.
Superdome.
Yeah, to buy you.
Down there in Superdome.
Silverdome, brother.
Exactly.
Ladies and gentlemen,allas goddard
how are you boss doing good how are you guys hey sorry we were just complimenting the commanders
the entire time fresh off a big time win i know it's nfce stuff and uh we don't want to put them
over too much while you were sitting around waiting but we appreciate you so much for your
time dallas 170 yards let's go now here we go now how did it feel going into the game did you know
that you were going to be a big part of the plan?
And at what point in that game did you know, like, okay,
we're about to have a pretty historic day here down in New Orleans?
Yeah, I knew I was going to be a big part of it with the injuries we had.
The game plan looked great, so I was really excited.
You see some of those catches.
They got me going early and often, which I really liked.
So it was fun down there, like you said.
I hit a really fast speed.
Too bad it was at the end of the game, otherwise it would have been higher.
That's right, you were winded.
You're running 20.19 miles an hour in the fourth quarter.
Nobody's going to talk about that.
That's like when I blew.15 at 5 a.m.
Nobody's really talking about that whole thing.
Dallas, 20.19 miles an hour whenever you're striding out there.
You think you're scoring a touchdown there?
Obviously.
But as you see this offense start to work,
especially after what happened
at the end of last year,
and I know your seventh year now there,
there was a lot of things said
about that Eagles team last year,
about the offense last year,
about how they,
with how it's going now,
the addition of Saquon,
vibes much higher, I assume,
in Philadelphia,
and what do you guys need to continue to do,
you think, to continue to ascend? Yeah, vibes are much higher. assume in Philadelphia and what do you guys need to continue to do you think to continue to ascend yeah vibes are much higher you know last year uh we kind of spiraled
out of control uh went downhill and spent the off season getting fixed up obviously got Saquon
uh waiting for AJ to get back so our offense can get clicking to the way it always is but uh you
know it's really exciting we got to continue to to just beat the blitz and do things,
take care of the football.
We've been turning it over too much.
And then score points in the red zone, that's big in this league.
Yeah, well, it's a field goal.
Just kick some, you know, kickers on the head.
Give points, take what we can.
Jake Elliott needs to go talk to Sirianni and be like,
hey, you can give me a couple layups.
Let me kick.
I can take a couple layups in there.
I appreciate Sirianni, though,
has continued his belief in your offense
to be able to pick those things up.
And when you don't, he said the blame falls on me.
Field goals could be a premium this season.
I'm excited to watch Jay continue to work.
Let's talk about your story a little bit.
You're from South Dakota.
You walk on at South Dakota State.
Now you're 6'5", running 20.19 miles an hour.
Are you a late bloomer?
How'd you end up being a walk-on at South Dakota State in-state guy?
Yeah, I was a little bit of a late bloomer.
I always enjoyed playing football.
In high school, we just weren't very good.
And I joked around with my teammate
probably more than I worked out,
did things like that.
So once I got to college
and got on a real program
where they had me lifting in the off season,
doing stuff like that
i was able to develop fairly fast and uh you know playing in the jackrabbits was a ton of fun
uh once i hit my girls fur and got big size i was the biggest one out there usually the fastest so
i had a heyday in college and uh just trying to continue doing that now go big go blue go jack
south dakota the home of dallas goddard adam vinatieri and evil
kenevil wow oh yeah people people forget about old evil he used to jump heavy box oh heavy
he used to jump heavy box he go a long way you go to philadelphia uh obviously that is vastly
different than south dakota uh state philadelphia the city that's one year after they won a super
bowl you get there.
Now with the amount of like everything that has happened in Philadelphia, how do you feel about
your experience as a Philadelphian brother and what do you think about the city of Philadelphia
as a whole? Oh, I'm taking it all in. You know, it's the best football, best sports city in all
of sports, I believe. You know, they accepted me really fast, and it's
a blast to play here. You know, the crowd,
the fans are passionate. When you have a good
game, they love you. When you have a bad
game, they let you know about it, but
they do a great job of just holding you accountable and making
you want to go out there and win for it
because the city, I think
crime goes down just like anywhere else when we
win games, so we've got to keep doing that
for the city. Wow, do you know what you did to new orleans so yeah i don't know yeah he was specifically
you 20.1 i'm out now let me run this right into crime back exactly that's what was happening
you're right though whenever the sports teams are winning you know the town is happier and better
that's why what the philadelphia flyers have done to phil Philadelphia for this whole amount of time. I'm joking.
No reason to take a shot at the Flyers.
They already take enough shots of themselves every season whenever they get their hopes up.
And then what's that ratty bastard that comes sliding down the damn thing?
That deranged maniac, Gritty.
Gritty, that entire thing.
Pittsburgh Patriots.
Yeah.
You a Flyers fan?
I'm a little bit.
I'm more of a Phillies fan right now.
They just locked it up.
So really excited for some more postseason ball
How about that because that stadium there
For the Phillies goes bananas right
That's like the best environment
The best ballpark in playoffs
How's Bryce doing?
We're playing great
We were spraying champagne last night
This is the year we win it you think?
I think so
I was at one of their playoff games a couple years ago
We showed up right when somebody hit an inside the park home run in it you think oh i think so i was at uh one of their playoff games a couple years ago and i think
we thought we showed up right when somebody hit inside the park home run and then uh bryce harper
came and hit like a three run home run shortly after and the place was absolutely electric it
was the coolest sporting event i've ever been to besides for what i'm playing in they eat poop
after you win superbowl is over there let's talk about getting back to another one of those jalen
hurts is the quarterback.
What do you think of his development from last year to this year,
from when he was named starter until now?
How do you feel about Jalen, and do you think this is going to be his best year?
Because there was a time there he got paid, and then he's incredibly handsome,
super cool, got paid a lot of money.
The haters came out. The haters came out.
Then last year goes the way it
goes how has Jalen handled it and what are your thoughts on him as the leader of your team
uh Jalen's the man uh you know he's the same person every day he's posed he's confident he's
collected uh and all he wants to do is win so when you have a quarterback like that you just you just
follow suit uh get in line with him and do whatever whatever he does because you know at the end of the game he's going to find a way to win.
And, you know, I think he just got the tie.
Nick Foles for the most game-winning drives in Eagles history.
So just knowing when he's out there, he's going to do whatever he can.
If he's got to put on the cape and be Superman, he'll do that.
Or if, you know, one of us get open, he does a good job of getting us the ball
so we can make plays as well.
Jalen's story is awesome.
You know, Alabama out there to Oklahoma, now to Philadelphia
when Carson Wentz was there, and he becomes a starter,
and they ride high.
We're going to do this thing.
Oh, yeah.
And then there is a little bit of adversity.
I like to see him bounce right back.
I like that.
That's kind of like Jalen Hurts football, it seems like.
Oh, yeah.
Now, speaking of, you know, bouncing back and being around a long time,
D-Butch got a question for you. Yeah, speaking of, and you've been Now, speaking of, you know, bouncing back and being around a long time, D-Butch got a question for you.
Yeah, speaking of, and you've been there seven years now, you know,
moving on, you're in kind of a different era almost, it seems like,
at least from the leadership, some of the OGs, Fletcher Cox,
Jason Kelsey out of there.
Do you feel like you've had to step up differently, I guess,
in the leadership role?
And how has that been if you have?
Yeah, with losing those two, I mean, they were there my whole time,
incredible leaders, incredible people uh i think when they left it's just kind of been a joint effort of the whole team
uh you know bringing staquon in he's a tremendous leader uh he does a great job of you know instilling
confidence in other people uh when you see him running the ball the way he does it it just gives
a whole uh electrifying feeling to the offense The offensive line loves a guy like that.
And then, you know, the offensive line, we've got Lane Johnson,
Jordan Malata, who's been there for a while.
They do a good job of doing it, too.
And then our young defense, you know, it's fun to see Jalen Carter out there
as passionate as he is when he's playing the way he is.
Yeah, well, he was going to beat the hell out of us.
I mean, there was –
Oh, anybody.
I don't know who would have the nerve to step up to him, man.
He's a big dude.
I mean, he's just incredible.
So just the people we got, we got to keep everybody together,
and I think we'll be great.
Just going to make sure to clarify what you almost said there.
You were going to say fast, big dude and fast, not big dude and fat.
Right.
Yeah, because there would be –
So fast.
I mean, this dude moves like a running back at 360 pounds.
It's crazy.
Yeah, he is electrifying down there.
Wrecked the game.
He was the best player in the league last week.
Whenever he wants to be, it feels like.
Yeah.
That's like a part of it, I guess, being young.
And I guess whenever people say whenever you want to be,
there's a lot of things in there, you know,
that kind of get added into that, especially who you're playing against.
But, yeah, he is unbelievable.
Good for him.
Hey, good for you, Eagles.
Having him on your team, that's a good guy
to have on your squad. So big,
so fast, so strong, and feels
like Philadelphia's the perfect city for him.
I will say the New Orleans people that were trying to
fight him, that was an interesting...
Bold. That is a bold play. That's Whistle
Guy, though. Whistle Guy, he's going to do
his thing. Yeah, you're right. I mean, if that's
going to get you guys a dub down New Orleans though, you'll
take it. People have been pretty negative
still even after a big time win to
one particular Italian. Ty has a question
for you. Yeah, Dallas, you mentioned how
Philly fans love you when you win,
hate you when you lose. People
are not happy with Coach Sirianni
like Pat mentioned.
Not kicking field goals and even yesterday
calling for his head after you guys win on Sunday.
But what is he like on a day-to-day basis?
We love him on the show.
We've had him on before.
He seems like an awesome guy, but I think that is a knock
that a lot of people out there also say.
It's like, well, he's not running the defense.
He's not running the offense.
But what is he like on a day-to-day basis?
He's incredible.
He's the same person every day.
He brings energy.
He wants the most and gets the most out of all the players.
It's always tough to be a coach in Philadelphia.
Even when you win, they want your head and don't think you're doing the right thing.
But we've got all the faith in Sirianni.
He's got all the faith in us, which is really cool,
and that's why he goes for it on fourth down so much because
he trusts his players and we trust him.
I think more
so than the calls that he makes, we've got
to execute better as players and
make sure we're able to get the job
done in him because, like I said, he
trusts us and that makes you feel good
as a player when the coach
has that much faith in his guys.
Take me inside a team meeting with Nick Sirianni
because he just quoted a Little League coach yesterday.
Coach Dan.
Coach Dan, a Little League coach for his son, had a quote,
so what, not what.
You know, and that is kind of how I thought.
Is he a storyteller?
Is he dropping gems of quotes in these team meetings?
What is his style in these team meetings?
Oh, he's got a little bit of everything.
He'll take movie quotes.
He'll talk to, we had one, it was Fireman Tony,
a guy that he met at one of his son's baseball game, I think.
He asked him questions and was able to relate it to the team meeting that week.
I think Kelsey even broke down the post-game speech to Fireman Tony.
He does a good job of just being able to relate with the players and keep it lighthearted
and serious at the same time.
Fireman Tony was certainly going to be an Italian man that was going to be recognized
by Nick Sirianni.
Let's talk about another Italian man running shop over there.
Tone's got a question for you.
Yeah, Dallas.
Big Dom has got a ton of titles.
I believe he's senior advisor to the GM, chief security officer,
game day coaching operations.
The Paisan.
The Paisan.
King of town.
Yeah, Big Pasta.
Big Pasta.
When the season didn't go your guys' way, the end of last season,
it could have been directly correlated to Big Dom not being on the field.
What does Big Dom mean to the Philadelphia Eagles?
Big Dom's a super important
piece. He does everything.
Whatever we need, anything
we need, he gets it done.
At the same time, he's out there.
He's probably the biggest celebrity in
Philadelphia. You see him in there
taking pictures
with the fans, signing autographs.
They're saying he's finding the camera.
Dallas, I don't know if Big Dom has heard this.
They're saying he's been looking for the camera.
People on the internet are saying that, Dallas.
I see him sneaking behind Sirianni.
He's always close.
He's trying to get his camera time.
He looked good on there, too.
You're damn right.
Big Dom's – I mean, he took the world by storm there
whenever that San Francisco 49ers situation happened.
And I think, like, you know, if you listen to Jason Kelsey's retirement speech,
I think he was the third person he thanked from the Philadelphia Eagles organization.
Big Dom, man.
And, like, he, like, broke down.
We're like, who is this guy?
You start doing some research.
He does everything over there?
He's just vibes guy?
Like, he just – he does everything for the Philadelphia Eagles?
Always has, always will?
Since I've been there, even before, always has, always will.
Obviously, he's great at his job and keeps us out of trouble,
makes sure we're always doing the right thing.
And, yeah, I mean, he hooks it up for us, that's for sure.
Shout out to Big Don.
Good sweatsuits, too.
Great sweatsuits.
Always clean.
You're talking about the South Philly tuxedo.
Yeah.
Yeah, of course.
He's the man.
Big Dom, way to go, pal.
Love you, Dom.
Big Dom.
Need to get Big Dom in our Super Bowl ring.
Yes.
For sure.
Yeah, Big Dom needs to be walking those streets with another ring.
Two pinky Super Bowl ring.
Holy shit.
I know Big Dom's not drawing up every play, only some of them.
There's somebody else that's been brought in time to do that.
Go ahead, Connor.
Yeah, Dallas, how's Kellen Moore been?
Obviously, I think it's your third OC in three years,
which is obviously a testament to how good the offense has been
because those coaches have gotten jobs elsewhere.
But how has he been in the building
and kind of making that offense even better for you guys?
He's been really good.
He's been fun to get to know, spend time with. I've liked what
he's done in the past. He's been able to get the tight end of the ball a lot. We were able
to show that last week. I'm looking to grow with him, understand more his flow of the
game, how he starts calling stuff. It's still early with us and I expect all of us to get
on the same page and just continue to elevate the way we've been playing.
He's been great for us and I think
he's an incredible coordinator.
Can he still spin it? Does he spin it at practice?
He can still spin it.
He's got a good arm.
Puts the ball where it needs to be.
It's fun having a quarterback
as the offensive coordinator just because they can
play around with that a little bit more.
Obviously, you guys got the big win, so that's better.
How was the trip to Brazil?
Obviously, there was a lot of chatter.
Yeah, the field stunk.
A lot of chatter about it.
We watched it.
That was the big takeaway.
Seemed to be passionate fans.
Seemed to be well-liked.
But what was it like?
What was the experience like?
It was really cool.
You know, the plane ride was long both ways.
But when we got there, going to the stadium, like you guys said, the fans were electric in the stadium. The field wasn't the
best, but that's what you would kind of expect playing on a soccer field. We were able to get
the win. That made the flight home better. But just the culture there, the fans there,
how passionate they were. It was cool pre-game looking around the stands and uh just
spotting jerseys uh it didn't matter uh what team you know they're not all of them were eagles fans
or uh packers fans so uh just seeing how many paint managers you could find of uh different
teams or the tom brady's all those things were uh pretty cool uh just just scouting the stands and
how passionate they are and how much they care about the NFL. It's like a celebration of American sports.
When we went over to England in the London game,
it was just like American sports jerseys everywhere.
Like, obviously, there was Jaguars jerseys, there was Colts jerseys,
but there was just America sports.
And, like, it becomes like a sports celebration, all these games.
I think the NFL has it right.
D-Butt's got a question for you, Dallas.
Yeah, Dallas, 6'5", you know, one of the fastest guys in the entire nfl i'm sure you played some other sports
growing up what other sports did you play growing up and if you weren't a football player what other
sports do you think you could have excelled at yeah uh my first love was probably basketball
um that's a lot of people uh it was kind of the same thing i didn't have a ton of offers for
basketball coming out of high school uh and my mom thought it'd be a better shot of me playing uh football there's 22 starters
there and only five on basketball so i went that route but i loved basketball uh played a little
bit of soccer uh didn't really run track i didn't get my speed uh until i got a little bit older so
track wasn't my strong suit uh played a little bit of baseball, but now if I could do anything else,
I'd golf, just like the rest of the world pretty much.
But got really big into that.
That's a lot of fun.
Are you good or you suck?
Are you good or you suck?
A handicap.
I don't even know my true handicap.
I hope when I go out I can break 90.
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, but I'm a fair player.
If I could putt, my scores would be a lot better.
Yeah, everybody.
How often do you play in the offseason?
You know, I try to get out two or three times a week.
Really picking up these last two years.
So I'm getting the itch real bad.
If I break 90, he's breaking 90 every time.
That's him trying to get his hands.
Just in case he plays with anybody else.
Smart play.
Dallas, I respect it.
That's his South Dakota street smarts.
And you know why they make sidewalks?
Resign for everybody, baby.
I appreciate you.
Ladies and gentlemen,
won for 170 this past weekend
in his seventh season for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Never been a pro bowler.
Let's figure that out.
Yeah, come on.
Let's get it this year, baby.
Hey, you got it.
Let's get it this year.
Ladies and gentlemen, Dallas Goddard.
Appreciate it.
What a quote.
That was a great quote.
Unbelievable.
I said it to the tight ends right before the game.
You know why they make sidewalks?
Because streets aren't for everybody.
Let's go get this.
All right.
South Dakota kid.
Do we know who originally said that?
No.
Dallas Goddard.
You're saying he stole it?
No.
Is that a Tomlin quote?
No, for sure.
I was thinking like, I don't know, like Ulysses S. Grant or something like that.
Oh.
That's what you were thinking?
Mike Eisenhower?
Yeah, Dwight Eisenhower.
We didn't think deeply enough about the entirety.
Guys got the AP vote.
Yep.
Uh-huh.
DeMar Haynes, comeback player of the year, man.
He played last year, right?
Yeah. Yeah, he did. But year, maybe? He played last year, right? Yeah.
Yeah, he did.
But still, we're still coming back.
No, you're going to have to take a stand on that.
Yeah, you are.
Because remember, our show, mostly you, have been very vocal about just because you suck in the middle of your career
and then you get good again doesn't mean it's comeback player of the year.
Exactly.
It has to be like some other circumstances or whatever.
It should be a good race this year.
Huh?
It should be a good race.
Aaron, obviously.
Dalton, probably.
T. Higgins.
See, that's what we're talking about.
Dalton is not up for comeback.
Last year,
set the precedent.
But if you pass away,
you get a season.
With what happened to DeMar?
Yeah.
Dude, isn't it crazy
watching it all happen?
Right in front of our face.
And Flacco stole it from him.
Yeah.
I'm sure he wasn't pumped. it. He wasn't happy about it.
Flacco didn't want it.
He actually said that when he came on the show.
He's kind of speaking about what we're speaking about here.
Like, yeah, I did really.
I haven't really played.
I was with the Jets in third string.
Yeah, I get it.
Came back from dropping my kids off.
Former Super Bowl MVP.
Yeah, so I get what you're trying to do here.
It's very kind.
But we all know who should have potentially won this thing.
But watching it live is like a great depiction of where we've come technology-wise.
That dude was dead.
Yeah.
On the field.
Yeah.
That was the story of everything.
The NFL lost a guy.
And then the more we learn about him, Yenzer and everything else that has taken place,
and the teammates and the stories and then the medical people in Cincinnati and then the doctors and what they did, how they
did it. The training staff for Buffalo. I got to learn a little bit more about whenever I was out
at the ESPYs and got to meet them and hear the entirety, how much they've trained and worked and
executed in a big moment in prime time. You know, you can practice a lot of things, but when the
lights come on, can you execute or not? They did everything. Boom, boom, boom. Save a life. Okay.
execute or not. They did. Everything. Boom, boom,
boom. Save a life. Okay, you're alive again. Way to go.
Yeah, if you walk,
sweet. If you eat, it's cool.
If you're able to see family again and
remember who everybody is, obviously sweet because you were
dead. But to get back
to a point where he's starting safety for the
Buffalo Bills, those jobs aren't just handed out.
That's not just how this goes.
And then to get a pick on Monday Night Football
in a complete blowout
against the team uh in the jacksville jaguars as a starter for the day it's like
wow what a story that is that is an awesome thing to kind of watch coming around because the amount
of shit that's been said about this guy oh yeah because the world that we're in obviously is
insane he's had to have heard it he's young for so last night, and I assume he has no spite in his heart towards anybody
because of everything it's gone through.
I assume perspective has been put in place.
He throws up the heart literally for everything.
Had to feel pretty vindicated last night on his entire journey.
And the amount of people that have helped him along the way,
they had to feel so good too for this.
I mean, he got an out starter going into the season,
and then he has this moment on Monday Night Football.
I'm so pumped for him.
Just the amount of work that has had to go into all of this. Mental toughness that has had to go into all of this. Just getting back on the field. I'm so pumped for him. Just the amount of work that he's had to go into all of this.
Mental toughness that he's had to go into all of this.
Just getting back on the field.
I'm so happy for him.
Last night was a great moment for me.
Yeah, that was awesome.
And obviously, we all remember what happened that Monday night.
It was crazy.
You get emotional.
Last night when he made the play, and obviously it was a blowout.
It was a terrible throw.
But I always talk about tips and overthrows,
taking advantage of his opportunity.
I mean, just unbelievable for the kid.
I can't wait to talk to him.
Yeah, I can't wait either.
The NFL and DeMar literally just launched yesterday, I think, the Smart Heart Sports Coalition,
which is the launch of AEDs for Youth program that offers automated external defibrillators
to schools and youth sports
organizations at substantial discounts.
In collaboration with leading AED companies, Coro Medical and Avive Solutions, the program
makes AEDs more accessible with students, teachers, and athletes.
Begin the new school year.
Like, that's helping.
Oh, yeah.
Like, that is.
Big time.
Because we hear these stories about workouts in the summer for these players.
I assume it happens in other sports.
We don't get to hear as much.
Maybe at smaller schools and everything like that, the youth level.
You've got overheat, heat exhaustion, hard stuff that takes place.
So not only does something terrible take place in the public eye on primetime
on Monday Night Football, and we think the absolute worst.
Instead, because of the great work by so many people,
we're on the other side where it's the absolute best and making society better.
It's like sports are awesome. Yeah. the other side where it's the absolute best and making society better. It's like, sports are
awesome. And DeMar Hamlin's
an absolute dog. He'll be joining us
here in a few moments. We never should have
doubted anything with him,
obviously, because he's got rust in his veins.
He was baptized in the Mon and the Allegheny,
so we knew. He is a Yenzer,
yes. Pittsburgh, yeah. He is.
The Pat Tillman Award
last year at the ESP yep i said yinzer
right beforehand just because i think there is something to being from pittsburgh and i assume
he'll say something about it but the amount of just like the way he sat in a pocket for everything
you know everything that happened oh yeah and obviously the doctors and medical and everything
had to do everything but for him to come back that, just think of all the questions that are happening
and all the information.
Think about what's going on with Tua right now.
All the things that are being said to Tua about everything.
And then for DeMar to just like sit through, battle through all of it and be like,
I have one goal, one focus.
And I'm going to get back to being the best me possible.
I'm going to make the world better.
And I'm going to play football again.
And it's like, yeah, maybe at the UFL or to CFO and it's like no starting for the pillows and getting a pick and a huge win
it's awesome you bring up the two a thing like the two a tackle was not it wasn't the same but
it was similar it was a helmet in his chest basically last week which was the same thing
that that caused the the Monday night incident like you got that's all stuff you got to get
over yeah that hurdle himself.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, like hearing what other people say for sure,
but he probably hears that and then thinks like, oh, my God,
when I'm playing, how am I going to be able to get to the point
where I'm just flying around playing carefree?
Buffalo Bills win 47-10 over the Jags last night,
as I think we're trying to connect right now.
Josh Allen was 23-30 for 263 yards, four touchdowns,
with 44 rush yards on top of that.
Okay?
Not too shabby.
Shakir goes six receptions for 72 yards.
He is electrifying.
Very good.
He's – I don't want to talk about his size,
but with his size and how he moves and the plays he makes,
it is awesome to watch.
Yeah.
It's just like Eckler. Like, when we're watching Eckler play football, it is awesome to watch. It's just like Eckler.
Like when we're watching Eckler play football, it is awesome to watch.
He's electrifying, you know,
because it does appear as if he is running max speed, his body could go,
with the way his legs go and everything like that.
But the way he reads, he's always in the end zone.
The guy is always in the end zone.
Austin Eckler, to score a touchdown, is one of the safest bets in football.
It has been
for like five years now and he got into an entire situation with chargers for he was like i could
pay more than 150 000 this year i scored 18 touchdowns last year you know what you got it
we'll give you an extra 350 grand okay that'll be incentive base you need to score 25 touchdowns
and i think he did it's like austin Austin Eckler is always in the paint and then
for them to kick him the ball is a wild decision because him being back there is one of the players
that I guess we should have mentioned whenever this new kickoff rule came it's like think about
Eckler being back there he hits it gets it has a speed that can pull away and a vision to find
where he needs to go it's like what a perfect returner for this. If I'm McPherson and Darren over there,
special teams coordinator for Cincinnati,
I think I see Eckler back there.
I'm checking to like, hey, we're just going to take a touchback here.
We're going to do that.
What did you think about that, McPherson?
What do you mean?
He got juked out.
He didn't just run right by him.
Yeah, that's what they're about.
What are you saying?
You're saying business decision?
Yeah, for sure.
Let's run it back.
Let's run it back.
100% of business.
He's in the back inside.
I try not to pay attention.
Commanders are very good on special teams.
When they were covering kicks as well, they were inside the 30 basically every time.
Yeah, there's some stats coming out that if you kick, you're going to gain like three yards versus a touchback every time.
Oh, no.
He got juke.
Well, don't worry.
The replay angle makes it look a lot better.
He tried to cut him back to his help.
It's Eckler.
You know, he's shifty.
Yeah, he is.
He was using the sideline. Let's see. No, he's Eckler. You know, he's shifty. Yeah, he's using the sidelines
See no, he reaches he definitely reaches his arm out
Reach his arm. I push him back. He's
Thought he pitched it. So he's one of them herding dogs. That's right, you know cut him off this way
So they have to go that way order call like that's Mario board call it Corgi. You name it. That is who he is
There's not a lot of dogs in the history of this here planet
that have ever accomplished something as magical as the man that's joining us right now.
We just told the tale about what took place the last time he played Monday night.
Now we're celebrating the shit out of him getting his first ever pick
in a blowout of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Ladies and gentlemen, starting safety for the Buffalo Bills, DeMar Hamlin.
How are you, man? of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ladies and gentlemen, starting safety for the Buffalo Bills, DeMar Hamlin. Yeah!
Bro!
How are you, man?
Pat Mack, what up, bro?
Dude, thank you for joining us.
Congratulations last night.
Hey, bro, congratulations last night, dude.
Well, I'm incredibly happy for you, pumped for you, proud of you.
What was last night? What was going through your mind as it was all happening?
And then after the game, thinking about it all,
what was going through your head?
Man, in the midst of the play um i was just you know trying to get my depth and just you know got a good read on quarterback eyes on where he was trying to go you know so i broke in you
know i got me one you know they say tips and overthrows we need those so uh you know i got
me one so it felt good to get that that first. And then after the game, do you watch the highlight a few times,
as you should?
By the way, let's make sure we see that.
Because you had pretty good vision, too.
If you would have got to the wall, maybe.
We're taking that thing to the crib.
You know, we got a house.
I should have kept straight.
I should have kept straight.
I should have kept straight.
Space it up.
Go ahead.
Hindsight 20-20.
Hindsight 20-20.
But, you know, once you get that first one in your hand,
I wasn't really too worried about what happened after that.
I was happy to get my first one.
Kept the ball smart.
I didn't see the ball ever leave the hand.
Some people get too excited.
They throw that thing.
They spike that thing.
It's like, nah, don't need to show Hayletoni 50-50 situation with the ball in there.
I meant to go take the ball to my mom.
I told my mom before the game, if I get a pick, I'm going to take the ball to her. I meant to go take the ball to my mom. I told my mom before the game,
if I get a pick, I'm going to take the ball to her.
I was just so tired after the play.
I went and sat down.
She understands.
But she getting that ball, though, for sure.
Okay, she understands.
I think she was probably so excited, too.
She didn't remember the promise that you did not keep in the moment at the time.
Let's talk after the game, though,
with mom, with family, with a lot of people.
I assume there was, you said hindsight's 20-20. I assume there was a look back or are we past
that now at this point? We've played too much football. We're moving along. Are you still
thinking about the entire journey from the last time you played Monday night?
Yeah, for sure. It's always going to be there, especially uh you know i it's especially with my family you know
in my unit because that's our life you know we experienced it and um just being so close to the
game you know still playing um it's just our reality um so it's always a reflection but you
know we just so growth mindset it and you know always trying to progress forward that um you
know we just just keep just keep keeping on keeping on and keep rolling with the
punches you know we just blessed to be where we are at this point so um it's always a reflection
but you know we just blessed to be where we are in the moment right now that's awesome i couldn't
imagine a perspective changer for everybody around you you've changed our perspective on things
especially getting back into it we talked earlier about like the mental aspect of getting back on a
football field was that something whenever you're getting back out there?
And does that ever, like we saw Tua get injured
or we see these other injuries happen.
Like, is there anything that like sparks any fear from you
whenever you're playing football now?
And how was the process getting back in?
You know, I just want to commend, you know,
everybody that is a part of this organization, the Buffalo Bills.
Last season, they truly, like, gave me my space to do whatever I needed as far as, like, falling back in love with the game, you know, getting back comfortable with everything.
And, you know, I had my time to process every single emotion that I had.
And, you know, I had great teammates around me, great leadership.
Last year, you know, big shout out to, you know, Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer,
everybody who was a part of, you know, our team last year, Diggs.
You know, they were big on just like, brother, directly or indirectly,
just being able to like keep pushing me to keep going,
just the encouragement, the checking on me, the check-ins.
You know, it meant a lot,
and it made me want to stay close to this team and this environment.
And just throughout the process of the whole year,
I was able to, like, you know, put everything aside.
And then on top of that, man, my training staff.
Like, you know, I'm just able to be free going out there.
So, you know, I'm just glad to be back in a good mindset
and a good headspace moving forward.
Sports are amazing.
Teammates are the greatest.
I mean, what you just said there gave me chills while you were talking about it
because that's like the greatness of having a team and a community around you.
And I think your story obviously showcased all those people.
The training staff I got to meet last year just them executing everything when the when the lights were on
is obviously a massive part of the entire story and it's like uh them still being by your side
today sweet I'm almost getting emotional just thinking about how you have to feel let's talk
ball let's talk a little ball here okay you're starting safety for Buffalo Bills you talked
about Jordan Poyer and Hyde this team is in the next chapter of who the Buffalo Bills. You talked about Jordan Poyer and Hyde. This team is in the next chapter of who the Buffalo Bills are
with Josh Allen as the quarterback.
How are vibes around the team?
It seems like you guys are having a great time playing football together.
We are.
We really are.
And that's how we keep it.
We keep it simple.
And everybody's keeping the team first.
And I'll say, man, Buffalo is a special place to be.
And, you know, the vets always have told me that from day one of me walking into this building.
You know, people that have been around the league and been to other teams or organizations,
they've always told me, like, other places aren't like this.
You know, you don't get the things that you get here everywhere, you know,
as far as the communication from top to bottom, the facilities, how players are treated, you know, the coaching,
just everything from top to bottom.
You know, they tell you that this is a world-class place,
and, you know, they've always told me to cherish it.
So, you know, I'm just reaping the benefits of, you know,
the advice that they've gave me, and, you know, it's just showing.
You know, this place is special, and we're all as one right now,
and we just going to keep going.
Bill's Mafia last night was impressive, too.
I mean, they were going absolutely bananas.
They always do that pregame thing.
What's that?
You're talking about the ketchup and mustard to the face or the –
Yeah.
Yeah, do they always do that?
They go crazy.
Yeah, they go crazy.
You never know what you're going to get from Bill's Mafia,
but they're going to show up every time.
You know, like last night, every third down it was so loud I had to put my
earpiece of my of my helmet on you know our um our mics face mask just to hear the call you know
what I mean so it was so loud um but you know that's that's like our 12th man you know just
being able to get the fans involved early um you know, it truly makes a difference.
Yes, whenever that wagon gets wagoning, it becomes a problem.
And Trevor Lawrence is the most recent victim.
Jacksonville Jays, it was a big one on Monday Night Football.
D-Butts got a question for you, DeMar.
Yeah, you play your best football now.
You started and played a bunch of games early on in your career as well,
but obviously since the incident, you got a newfound fame.
You know, a lot of people, you can't just walk around,
people don't know who you are.
That's not the really experience for a lot of players,
especially DBs, not quarterbacks.
How has it been, I guess, managing that part of it
and still being able to focus on the main thing, which is football?
You know, it's been a little easy, I would say,
not to take it for granted at all but uh
you know football has always been the main thing to me um it's always been my passion and it's
always like it's always been what's made me a better person in all areas of my life you know
just being dedicated to the game you know i was just telling somebody the other day like
football is the reason why i'm as close to God as I am.
You know what I mean?
Football makes me clean up my life in so many other areas.
You know, it makes me want to be better on and off the field, you know, because that's how you get the best results.
So, you know, just knowing that, it allows me to, like, keep the main thing the main thing because, honestly, like, being locked in with with the game it truly cleans up my entire life so um you know that's why i'm so appreciative of this sport of the game and you
know that's why i was a no-brainer that you know i wanted to be right back in this position i am
now damar you're the man we're incredibly proud that you're from the city you're from too ap tone
has a question for you yeah damar also from pittsburgh. Not from McKees Rocks. I used to venture to McKees Rocks late night
every once in a while. There was adult ballet over there.
Oh! Yep.
Who's going over there?
Yeah, we saw you there.
Classy joint.
Yeah, we did.
Yeah, we did.
No, we were saying like
we're not surprised by where
you come from, how you overcame everything because you were obviously baptized in the Mon
and the Allegheny, went to Pitt.
Whenever you're going to come back home, come back to Steelers,
that's fine with us.
But does that help, like, playing in a blue-collar city,
coming from a blue-collar city, just dealing with all this stuff, you think?
Yeah, it keeps me grounded, you know what i mean like i can't i can't go and act like somebody that
i never once was because you know not only will my family hold me accountable but you know all
the people i grew up around and um my city will hold me accountable as well um to truly always be
myself uh and uh i take pride in you know what i mean i take pride in that. You know what I mean? I take pride in going in any room
I'm in and representing where I come from. So, you know, that allows me to always have that chip
on my shoulder. And then, you know, Buffalo and Pittsburgh, just as far as blue-collar town,
they got so many similarities. So that's one of the first things I realized getting up here.
There's so many similarities in the people, the fans,
how much they love the game,
and then how much people really look after one another.
We're proud of your Yenzer, pal.
And I think Buffalonians are proud of your Buffalo Bill.
We can't wait to watch you to continue to crush your football career
and help society out.
This thing you're doing with the NFL is sweet.
These AEDs for youth programs and youth sports.
You're making the world better, brother.
If that was one of them, that's what we're talking about.
If not, you're the man.
Thank you so much for your time, brother.
Hey, Pat Mack, what about that backyard bra?
All right.
Late.
We're running out of time.
Hard Out coming up.
We're up 10, dude.
Three minutes left.
We're up.
That's not how that's supposed to go, De up. That's not how that's supposed to go, DeMar.
That's not how that's supposed to go.
Hey, we got it done.
We got it done.
Hell to pit.
All right.
Ladies and gentlemen, DeMar.
Thanks for coming on, DeMar.
So happy.
Love you, bro.
Yeah, you too, man.
Yeah, we love you too, man.
Have a good one.
Proud of you, man.
That graphic, man.
Once that panther was on that bridge, I knew it was. Yeah, the dong you too, man. Have a good one. Proud of you, man. That graphic, man. Once that Panther was on that bridge, I knew it was.
Yeah, the dong.
Yeah, the dong slide, man.
One side of the mountain.
You were still giving a little look.
Yeah, you couldn't see the mountain.
You were dong.
You was in it too.
That's the problem.
Pitt came from behind the place that week.
Oh, I thought because the Panthers.
Across that bridge, you'd still be able to see it.
Yeah, you're right.
You're right.
You'd still be able to see it.
Especially with what that Panther was flowing around.
Yeah, exactly.
Tamar's the man.
Yes, he is.
Met him at the SB.
He's got a chance to talk to him for the first time.
Like, Yinzer, all the shit that has been said about him
through it all, and then he's just like,
that's what I keep the main thing, the main thing.
I just want to play football.
I want to get back in here.
Thank you to everybody.
Perspective change.
We're just going to keep moving.
It's the ball.
I can't wait to see what he does the rest of the season.
Trevor Lawrence is the man that gave him his first
interception in the NFL.
That's good.
Alright.
Alright.
Maybe they got him. from you. It's through their Uber teen account. It's an Uber account that allows your teen to request a ride under your supervision with live trip tracking and highly rated drivers.

Football!
It's awesome.
Journalistic standards to make some corrections here.
Sure.
When I was talking to Dallas Goddard,
who is from South Dakota, went to South Dakota State,
I made a mention to him that he's from there,
Adam Vinatieri's from there,
and Evel Knievel is from South Dakota.
Turns out, Evel Knievel actually from Butte, Montana,
which is the same hometown as Colt Anderson and Makuya.
Okay.
The guy who killed Osama Bin Laden.
But his cousin, you see, Adam Benataris.
So Evil Knievel's blood is potentially runs in South Dakota.
Exactly.
And he was jumping heavy bikes.
Heavy bikes.
You see, and that's journalistic standards. We'll do a little bit of that
this hour. I'm excited to dive into it. The Talks
and Tables here at Boston Corner and
at Ty Schmidt. Really sweet fit today out of you.
Thank you very much. I don't do that often
and this is one of my favorite shirts and I said,
you know what, I need this today because Aaron Rodgers
put his balls all over my face on Thursday
night. Theoretically.
Football's all over
the Patriots. Yeah, exactly. Football's. I wasn't with Aaron on Thursday night. Theoretically. Football's all over the Patriots.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, he went footballs.
I wasn't with Aaron on Thursday.
It's like a Gamecocks situation where they say,
go Cocks, and it's the Gamecocks.
This is a footballs situation.
Obviously, I wasn't with him because I was in Indiana.
You were on the sideline, I thought.
Look, I wasn't on the sideline.
What?
I didn't want to lie to you guys,
but I wasn't actually on the sideline.
I wonder why you blew out.
You said you saw Gary Vee.
Why were you dressed like that?
I did see Gary Vee.
I never saw him in person.
Why was I dressed like that?
Because this shit means something, man.
All right.
One half of that.
It means something.
All right, and it means something to a lot of people, this NFL.
There's three teams 0-3.
There's five teams 3-0.
Yep.
One of the teams that's 0-3, Cincinnati Bengals.
You see Joe Burrow was going to Zach Taylor's office
after the game with Louie Anarumo in tow.
They're having a meeting of minds in there.
Was Duke over there as well?
Was Duke Tobin in there?
Was the Brown family represented in there?
Was there a circle?
Was there a meeting of the minds in Cincinnati saying,
what the fuck are we doing?
I'm paying quarterbacks.
I'm paying wire seers.
I got an indoor facility.
You guys got a billion-dollar thing happening.
Where I went through, I don't know how to play football anymore.
Well, no, I got the hottest quarterback in the NFL coming to town next week, too.
Who's that?
Andy Dalton of the Carolina Panthers.
And a little, you know, a sweet revenge game, if you will.
Oh, yeah, they benched him on his birthday.
They did.
Benched him on his birthday, which was also trade deadline day.
Didn't bench him until after the trade deadline had passed on his birthday.
He remembers.
Oh, he remembers.
Big time.
The Dalton remembers.
Do you think the Red Rockets are going to forget about his birthday
whenever he gets it?
I don't think so.
Not a chance.
This Carolina Panthers team, too.
They play football now.
They do.
They're tough.
They used to show up.
Have a little AI.
Have a little spats in the crowd.
In the crowd, by the way, sparse.
Yeah.
That's not new Carolina Panthers.
No.
They play football now.
Serious football.
They complete passes.
What?
They tackle people.
What?
They score points.
What?
That's what they, they play football in Carolina now.
And they're coming to town with a team that's having a meeting of the minds after a Monday
night football game.
Uh-oh.
Uh-oh.
Don't let Andy Dalton turn one into two.
No.
And don't turn three into four if you're the nasty Maddie.
Exactly.
Because 0-3, not a lot of people in the history of football
have been able to get out of that hole.
I believe that Joey B could be one of those people
if they go on a run.
But boy, a lot of things and stars are going to have to align.
And one of them can't be a red rocket shooting right in between them.
Okay?
That is something that can't be taking place.
We shall see how next week's. Only six
teams in NFL history have made the playoffs. They're starting now.
0-3. Texans, Bills,
Lions, Chargers, Buccaneers, Jets.
Long time ago there. 1981, one of those teams.
One half of the hammer.
Cowboys, AP Tone in the
AFC North. All of a sudden,
the caulk of the walk is yet again the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Who would have thought? Yep. 3-0. Bengals
0-3. Ravens 1-2,
Browns 1-2. Boy, it's good to
be back on top. Not that we ever weren't, but
it's just... Well, you've got a tough team this weekend
too. Red hot. Who's that?
Journalistic standards, though.
Ulysses S. Grant did not come up with
the sidewalk and streets
quote. It was cookie line in a
2015 episode of Empire.
You knew Dallas didn't come up with it.
You just had to get to the bottom.
I had to because journalists extend it to what we do on this show.
Also, the Bengals go to the Panthers.
Even worse.
Oh, my God.
They're going to have fans.
That place is going to be 60% to 70% filled.
At least.
It might be standing room only.
They might go to max.
Now that Dalton's slinging it, I bet you it's rejuvenating.
Top seller.
Sellout.
We're seeing Dalton right now.
We're saying Carolina's going to sell out that stadium.
Maybe.
What if they do?
What if Luke Combs is singing in the beginning of that thing?
Leading him out of the tunnel?
Oh, my God.
Yeah, Steph Curry back maybe doing the whole thing.
CMC maybe comes back for it because he's not playing.
Yeah, just watch the game.
He's in Germany actually. Yeah, he can watched the game. He's in Germany, actually.
Yeah, he can't be there.
He's in Germany.
He's getting some stuff done
in the Achilles tendon.
Now he said he got that.
We found out one week
before he inevitably went to IR
whenever we thought
he was coming back
to have a great season.
We were bamboozled a little bit.
Journalistic standards.
The guy's in Germany now
all of a sudden.
We thought he was going to be
on a fantasy team.
And now he's in Germany right now
looking for any answer
that he could potentially find
from somebody saying,
nine, nine, nine. They're saying, no, he ain't got shit over here for any answer that he could potentially find from somebody saying nine nine nine
They're saying no ain't got shit over here for you pal. I saw an internet doctor tweet
You don't go to Germany if it's just you know, something standard wrong. Well, you gotta jerk. I think
Kobe recipes gone over there. I believe Peyton has gone over there. It is a high-level I think
Flight over there. I think Andrew. I know he went to Europe, but I'm not sure if it was Germany.
It was Germany. It was?
He grew up in Germany.
So did Shaq. Yeah, so who knows if Shaq's
gone over there. But there are places that have
different sets of rules for things
that aren't illegal or tested for
that they maybe have more experience
or expertise in. So these
people that will turn over any stone to get back
normally find their way taking trips abroad.
There's also trips, I think, south too for certain stuff.
Yep.
That people get in there.
Not north.
Nonetheless, did not expect this from Christian McCaffrey.
We thought he just had a little calf.
Yeah.
Uh-oh.
Thought he was going to be back.
He's gone.
What's this mean for the Niners?
They lose one, they're going to lose two.
They're going to lose three.
I mean, they got a tough test this weekend.
We just talked to Dallas Goddard. The Philadelphia Eagles are flyingagles are flying huh yeah green bay packers are feeling very good yes
we are all of a sudden the nfc is not you know just a two-headed race it's starting to absolutely
cook detroit lions are learning how to play lions football vikings minnesota vikings sam
donald's in the middle of a resurgence where he might be playing his best ball
oh my god 24-3 to seattle seahaw. Just beat the dog shit out of Miami Dolphins.
Whoa.
The NFC's alive.
Don't look now.
Los Angeles Rams.
They just beat the Niners.
Starts this entire conversation.
The NFL is seemingly developing some storylines
and things are getting sorted
that could be vastly different
than what we thought going into the year.
But here we sit with some teams
that have optimism and hope
that could have never fathomed it
in the middle of the offseason.
Nine-year NFL vet is here, Derrish J. Butler.
Yes, sir.
Also born in Germany.
You were?
Yep.
Sprechen Sie Deutsch?
No, I don't speak that shit.
But Frankfurt.
I was born in an Army base.
Hey, Frankfurt.
Army brat.
Shout out to your family, by the way.
We appreciate the service.
Frankfurt's airport's one of the best in the world.
Really?
Best in the world.
We're talking perfect beers.
Oh, yeah.
Drafts.
Landed 7.30 a.m.
Walk into this little thing.
Now, granted, I was paying a lot of money for the tickets to fly over there
because I'm not doing this thing for however long it gets to Germany.
You get in there, walk into this little hangout area after the customs
because you're normally going to get on a connection
if you're not staying in Frankfurt, whatever the case is.
Some sweet old German lady walks over to me.
7.30 AM.
She basically offers me like a little breakfast thing.
And then she goes, would you like a beer?
And I'm like, absolutely.
Perfectly poured.
Perfectly tasted.
How you doing?
That was the first of 10 that day.
Ice cold or room temp?
It's chilled.
The room temp thing that people
always try to talk shit about, I don't think is a good
argument because whenever you get there, it tastes
very, very good. Really?
It is a little thicker though.
Every place has their own
beer too, whenever I was over there.
A lot of craft brews. Like J.R. Mahan's?
Yeah, like J.R. Mahan has
his own, their own
Guinness-style beer. Everybody kind of has
their own shit over there. How much German do you speak?
Unbit Poo, that's
French. None.
That's all I know.
And then Dorian, I believe, is
nine. Nine is no.
I do a lot of that. It's a good bit.
I feel like I can't get to the bibliotech.
What is that?
The library?
Spanish?
Library?
Bibliotech?
Not a lot.
I got to learn a little bit.
Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen.
I wasn't born there, though.
You should.
Yeah, I got to learn a little bit.
My dad can understand it.
Aren't you learning a language right now?
Spanish.
Smart.
I live in South Florida.
I don't know how French was even an option for me in high school.
I mean, it's very beneficial.
French, Latin.
Why is this even an option?
What are we doing?
So dumb.
We need to learn Spanish.
Like, that is just a part of life.
Mandarin as well.
Everybody's speaking it now.
No, really?
They're teaching Mandarin now in high school.
Yes, they are.
All right. Okay. John Cena would teach me in high school. Yes, they are.
John Cena would teach me how to speak German.
I know he speaks fluent German.
Who? The man you're about to.
Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen,
a college football national champion,
a Super Bowl champion, a father of 10,
and a guy who can speak
fluent Deutsch.
Ladies and gentlemen, A.J. Hawke.
A.J. Hawke. Ja? Ja? speak fluent deutsch yeah ladies and gentlemen aj hawk yeah yeah yeah yeah i mean majority of
my family comes from uh some you know german roots but unfortunately i do not speak the language we
didn't know that yeah yeah um big games last night how'd you feel watching it cincinnati
you're in ohio obviously cincinnati Cincinnati Bengals fans got to be vastly confused.
I mean, we were mentioning a couple things that continue to happen for Cincinnati
and don't happen anywhere else on this particular program.
You know, in an effort to spotlight it, to maybe get it to change,
Bengals fans start attacking us.
Just start full-on attacking us.
I don't think we took any shots at Bengals fans ever, legitimately.
Only a potential organizational operation stuff a couple different times.
But this team was supposed to be good.
They're spending money.
They're kind of doing everything the right way.
Now we're sitting here 0-3, and you lose to the Commanders last night.
And I don't think anybody knows how Daniel's going to be.
And I saw a Bengals postgame show brought to you by Sports Illustrated.
He said, Jane Daniels is not that good.
It's like, we don't know that.
We have no idea if that's the case
or not but right now in this moment bangles fans have to be is is it full panic over there in
cincinnati from your bangles fans friends uh yeah i think it is i'm surrounded by a bunch of bangles
fans and they are very confused obviously the offense played very well joe burrow played well
but the whole walking into the coach's locker room situation like all this stuff gets magnified
when you lose,
especially when you're 0-3.
But, I mean, Jaden Daniels put on an absolute master class.
Like, he was unbelievable.
And the Bengals D, I don't know.
I guess they got to figure it out.
Yeah.
Louie and Rumo, good D coordinator.
Yeah, exactly.
So, I think that's why we're all pretty confused.
You know, Cincinnati Bengals notoriously slow starters,
but obviously 0-3, there's only been six teams that have made it,
and we're talking all the way back to like 1981.
He looks smooth.
He looks poised.
He looks confident.
Team loves him.
And if you're going to do that in primetime games, back-to-back games,
no punts, like it's weeks two and three.
Feels like they're off to a good start.
Now let's go to the other side there.
Buffalo just absolutely beats the dog shit out of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Josh Allen looks awesome. This Buffalo
Bills team looks like it's a lot of fun. We just had
DeMar Hamlin on who got his first pick of his
NFL career. He's saying the vibes are high,
immaculate. We're all enjoying this thing.
They're letting James Cook. You see
what we did there.
Is this more about the Buffalo Bills or the Jacksonville Jaguars
last night, you think, AJ?
The Jags have their own issues. I think it's more. I mean, the Jags have their own issues.
I think it's more about the Bills and what the Bills are doing.
I know DeMar said how much fun they're having.
You can feel it.
When you watch them play, it all starts with Josh.
But, man, the whole team has a trickle-down effect, I think, to everybody.
What a dart right there.
Yeah.
Feed.
Absolute dart.
Obviously, Josh Allen playing phenomenal football right now.
And everything he's saying is getting put under a microscope.
He said nobody cares about stats.
We're just trying to win football games.
And it seems like they're doing that very well.
Congrats to the Bills.
And Jacksonville, we're sorry.
We're sorry.
It was supposed to go a different way.
Peyton Corbett.
Changed the name of the stadium to his name.
Trevor Bank.
Too much pressure on him.
Too much?
Yep.
His name in the stadium is a big deal.
I heard even the people that own Lucas Oil,
when they walk into the Loud House,
they get a little nervous because their name is on the stadium.
You can imagine if my name was on the stadium,
I was playing it.
$55 million, big deal.
So Trevor's next four years pretty much locked in, right?
I mean, he just got paid.
Yeah, there's five.
They had it out after two years,
and then now they're with him.
Got to be the guy.
Has to be the guy.
So let's not look at that as a negative.
A lot of time is still developing.
Yeah, the film's not, like, it's fixable.
I'll say that.
It's definitely fixable.
Now, I'm interested to see if Doug Peterson will, you know,
take over play calling at any point because if you're going to go out,
I want to go out on my own.
Yeah, you would think that would be the case.
Remember, he called plays and he didn't call plays and they were good when he was calling
plays.
They were bad when he wasn't calling plays.
Now they're still having one since Thanksgiving.
Maybe get back in there.
We would like to see Doug Peterson offense kind of do their thing.
We'd like to see Trevor have success because anytime somebody's getting that B word tossed
at them, that can't be fun for anybody.
We're fans of Trevor when he was at Clemson.
We like the way he's handling himself, but boy, there's some bad football coming out of Jacksonville and they're losing bad. You know, that B word tossed at them. That can't be fun for anybody. We're fans of Trevor when he was at Clemson.
We like the way he's handling himself.
But boy, here's some bad football coming out of Jacksonville.
And they're losing bad on primetime.
It's going to get loud.
Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is a man who won on primetime a lot of times in his career.
Hell yeah.
Most recently on Thursday night.
Spinning it.
Hey, all over the place.
AFC East matchup.
How you doing?
Keep it moving.
Defense balled out.
He was throwing to anybody that had hands.
Ladies and gentlemen, four times he won the NFL MVP.
Five times he's done Aaron Rodgers Tuesday.
Aaron Rodgers.
Yeah!
How you doing, brother?
You guys are really overreacting, aren't you?
This is the league we're in now.
Everybody's overreacting. You're writing off teams. the league we're in now. Everybody's overreacting.
You're writing off teams.
What?
People are writing off teams in the first two weeks,
and look what happened, you know?
Anybody can beat anybody,
and now the narrative changes for everybody.
We're being attacked right now.
We're not overreacting.
Did you see Josh Allen last night? Yeah.
He's running the ball all over the place.
So good.
Jacksonville Jaguars, they lose by 37 on primetime.
This team stinks. Jake Daniels, this guy might be the next C.J. So good. Jacksonville Jaguars, they lose by 37 on primetime. This team stinks.
Jake Daniels, this guy might be the next C.J. Stroud.
Look, he's phenomenal.
And for Cincinnati Bengals, shut it down.
That team sucks.
What do you mean we're overreacting?
Do you have anything to counter what we just said right there, Aaron?
Do you have anything to say?
Three weeks.
Three weeks.
It's been three weeks.
It takes time to figure out your identity. It takes
time to figure out how to win, to bond, to get that chemistry going. And you hit a fast spot,
and you get rolling, and then the whole narrative changes. I felt that way after week one. Went down,
played San Fran. Everybody thought San Fran's a a Super Bowl team we get beat on prime time
I said we got two games
in a short amount of time
we win these two
the whole narrative changes
what happened
we go down
beat Tennessee
beat the Patriots
and now
you know
narrative changes
and then look what happened
to San Fran
they went out
and got beat by Minnesota
and then got beat
by the Rams
and now
you know
they got major problems
obviously they have
injury problems, which doesn't help, but
that's the nature of our league.
And I think I'm not
criticizing you guys directly. It's just interesting
to see how the narratives just
really bounce around
very quickly. We deserve it all.
Yeah, we live with the highs
and the lows. Well, BC
and Tone are two
big over-reactors.
I would say that
the tie as well. More
on the college level. Don't worry, we did it
Friday too, Aaron.
Yeah, we want bananas. You guys are winning the Super Bowl.
Let's talk about that. Whenever you have a performance
like that on Thursday night, and I'm not
just going to talk about you, let's talk about the entire offense
and how everything looks. Obviously,
divisional opponent and their defense.
I know we're only three weeks in, but does that legitimize anything for the team,
you think, behind the scenes?
And what does a performance like Thursday night do for you specifically?
Saw you get hit?
Saw you run a little bit?
Is there anything you pull from that game and think about here on the mini-bye week
as you move forward?
I enjoyed the mini- bye week for sure.
I had a nice weekend off.
We got any dark holes?
Any dark holes?
We do any of those?
Any of those?
What about timeline moves?
No, just the meditation room a few times.
Okay, good.
Listen, there's a lot of overreactions that happen whether you win or lose.
This was a good game for our offense.
You know, we did some good things.
I think we still left some points out there, which is great for the coaches
because there's always coachable moments.
I think when you have a game you feel like you played really well,
you watch the film back and be upset that you missed a few here and there.
We missed some targeting.
We missed some opportunities.
Missed the throw here and there. We missed some targeting. We missed some opportunities. Missed the throw here and there.
So there's always things to improve on.
But, you know, New England is a division opponent.
They're very well coached.
You know, they sat back and played a lot of Mel Kiper on the back end.
So, you know, it's just keeping – you know, they can throw a lot of different things at you.
So I feel good about what we did up front, protecting, made some seams for Brees and Braylon.
And, you know, for me personally,
I said this after week one, you know,
I think the progression for me physically
is just going to continue
because the more comfortable I feel on the field,
the more I'm able to do some of the stuff
I was doing as a younger player.
Because, you know, my body's in a good good spot
it's just mentally just over those hurdles and doing some things i've done before so i extended
some plays i threw the ball on the run i ran for a couple first downs stuff that i you know i've
done over the years and maybe didn't do as much uh you know my last uh my last year in green bay but um you know the work that uh that i put in
the off season um you know put me in a position i feel like once the confidence came around with
my achilles that i could you know do some of the things i was used to doing uh in the mid 2010s
okay so before we do some journalistic standards can we talk about that throw uh to garrett wilson
there that's the first touchdown you've thrown to a first
round pick wide receiver.
Yada, yada. It's a stat. But every
football person that's talked about this is like, even
the thought of, I'm going to make this
throw is a dangerous one. Obviously,
not a lot of people would make.
We got more zip on the ball right now than
we've had in a long time. Do we have the same amount
of spin on it? Because obviously,
Christian Gonzalez, who's a phenomenal DB, when he sees this ball go his eyes get huge this is pick six city this is
99 yards the other way Gons has one of the top corners in the league you knew you were going to
beat him there and uh how do you feel whenever this ends up being a touchdown you got to think
to yourself 40 year old still a gunslinging son of a bitch here. Is that a reality?
There were a couple still got it moments.
I ran for a couple first downs.
I extended a few plays and hit conk on a couple scramble alerts.
You need those moments.
The first two games, I didn't move around a ton.
I didn't run for any first downs.
I think I had one positive run uh
against uh against the titans um so it felt good to be able to move around like i feel i'm capable
of doing um and just kind of more than that just have a good sense in the pocket you know i've
always been a run first guy outside the pocket even when i could actually run to my uh my 40 time
uh at the combine i was still uh you know, I like to extend to throw
and then use a pump fake and some real subtle athleticism
to, you know, get as many yards as I can.
But I was doing some things that I knew I was capable of doing,
but I just haven't done in a while.
You know, I've been off the field.
I've been hurt.
I've been rehabbing for so long.
So it's nice to, the stuff that I've actually been doing in training camp
showed up on the field.
But I felt like, you know, real – just calm in the pocket.
And the line in three games, we've had five sacks.
Probably two of those are on me.
So really three sacks from the line in three games is some great playing.
We've rushed for over 100 in each game, I believe, run the football.
It's been a combination of Brees and Braylon, and Isaiah got his first carries,
and I contributed with modest 18 yards on Thursday.
But I'm happy for our offense.
Defensively, obviously, that's kind of the standard for them.
They were all over the field, created a turnover,
were incredible in situational football.
But offensively, you know, we talk a lot about taking care of the football.
First and foremost, we had no turnovers.
Talk about being great in situational football.
We were 3-4 in the red zone.
We were 10-15 on third down.
Two of those were third and 19-plus, which are not big converters.
One of those was late in the game in kind of a four-minute situation.
Connor is agonizing in pain right now.
Come on, man.
Third and 19?
We didn't convert the third and 19.
That's what I'm saying.
We didn't convert third and 19.
We didn't convert third and 33.
And we didn't convert on the four-minute.
Other than that, 10 for 12 and kind of uh the uh the real third down is is uh really good football on offense so we ran the
ball 33 times i believe for 133 yards um which is uh which is really good so a lot of good
measurables on that most important one is the win one in the division now. Obviously watching the ball last night. Buffalo is obviously a really good team.
You know, they're 3-0.
We're 2-1.
Miami and New England are both 1-2 in our division.
So we know it's going to be a good stretch coming up.
We got Denver who's coming off a nice win against the undefeated Buccaneers.
And just watching them, I feel like defensively they throw a a lot of different things at you and they played really well on
defense.
They had two safeties against,
uh,
against Seattle in week one.
Um,
just didn't do a whole lot on offense.
I don't feel like,
but,
uh,
special teams and defense kept them in the game,
uh,
in week one,
week two,
they played Pittsburgh and,
uh,
you know,
didn't give up a ton of yardage or points in that game.
So they've been playing really well.
They gave up seven points against the Buccaneers in week three.
So they've been playing well.
They're going to be riding high.
Then after that, we have two undefeated teams.
So it's going to be a good stretch for us.
Yeah, I'm excited to see it.
One of those is going to be in London, too.
So it'll be a stretch around the whole travel schedule.
Yeah, but you love London.
You love those London games.
You know, international shows, baby. We've got to put on
a performance. Excited
to see if Bo Nix can continue to go. Obviously
your defense is also
impossible. So that should be a great
matchup. I like where the Jets are.
Will you hop on a train with me real quick for some
journalistic standards? This is the last question
from me before the boys all have theirs.
Because this one I think talks about
three plays that I saw happen on Thursday night
that kind of contribute to this entire situation.
Ben Standig, who works for The Athletic, I believe he covers the Commanders and the entire NFL as a whole.
The Athletic owned by the New York Times.
Okay, journalistic standards.
He did an article that basically said, the quote about the Jets from agents that he talked to,
he says, there's complete disarray over there.
Look at how they've handled Aaron Rodgers.
Has one player had more power than him?
He skipped minicamp.
They've been unable to convert him into a team player.
The vibe inside the building is terrible.
Okay?
So let's go to the three plays that I saw on Thursday night that made me go,
oh, that's interesting reporting.
The vibe's terrible.
How about this one?
Can-can.
Everybody on the field does the cans, the hand signal. I know you guys see
that in film. I know that's something you stress.
The ability for everybody to buy in and be
this alert to everything happening in the
first quarter is obviously beautiful.
Then how about whenever there's a little bit of an extra hit,
offense alignment comes flying
in and goes, wait a second, you want to touch
my guy? How about we fight?
You want to dump him on his
head? Okay, without even thinking about it, here comes
Simpson. What? I will fight you.
This is not even a question. A good
indicator of a team, by the way.
Of a team that is together
that likes each other. Before Breesaw even
has a chance to get up and fight this guy,
Simpson offensive lineman, big dude,
sprints 20 yards and says, we ain't doing that.
Then, talking about fighting, Keelon
White? Yeah. Keelon White hits you a little doing that. Then, talking about fighting, Keylon White?
Yeah.
Keylon White hits you a little bit late, some of your teammates think,
on the sideline.
Thinks he'll hit you a little bit late.
What happens?
Lazard comes over.
He's about to fight him.
Lazard's about, hey, hey, what do you think this is, pal?
You think this is a game?
You say, hey, hey, hey, it's all good.
It's all good.
You say, it's all good.
So there's just three plays that I saw from the game the other night
that indicated that your team is very together
and maybe the complete opposite of a horrendous culture.
What is the behind the scenes like for the Jets?
And whenever you push your head coach and tell him to go fuck himself,
how does everybody handle it all?
How does everybody handle it?
I would say the culture is about the opposite of what that article said.
No.
I didn't read the article, but just reading that headline there,
it sounds like it was written by a son Reddick's agent.
But former agent, I guess, possibly,
in a way to try and disparage our great organization.
When you perform like you do Thursday and you were two and one,
obviously you never know what can happen as the season goes on.
But I think you realize how ridiculous some of these off-season storylines can be.
Is anybody talking about minicamp anymore?
Does anybody feel like that's an important contributor in the season?
The answer is no, it shouldn't, because it's not.
As far as us being together, John Simpson is at an element,
and I saw a clip that Herbie said on the Thursday night,
shout out Herbie, broadcast where he talked about how that just didn't go on
around here last year.
And I think that's true.
The attitude that he's brought, that Morgan Moses brought,
that Tyron Smith has brought to our offensive line,
the growth I've seen from Elijah Gary Tucker and Joe Tippman
has really meant a lot to our line.
I mean, they have become the bodyguards, the police of the team,
which is really, really important.
The best teams I've been on, the line police is a squad.
And they have each other's back, and they pick people up off the field,
and their first one's in to back up a brother.
I mean, Morgan did that for me and John as well in Tennessee.
When Jeff Simmons gave me a hard little shoulder, the first person in there was Mo.
The second person in there was John.
Those guys were both in Baltimore last year.
So obviously they bought into something in our culture that they can hold on to.
And I think it's the fact that we really do care about each other
and we enjoy spending time with each other.
We create an environment where there's a lot of conversation.
There's a lot of back and forth.
There's a lot of time, you know, for important conversations
that show up on the field.
And then there's time for us to get to know each other.
And there's time spent outside the building that allows us to come together.
So I'm really thankful for the environment that Coach Sala has brought to it.
I think it's comedy also, that little clip there.
You know, it's definitely cut without the beginning of that or the end of that.
No.
Of course, they wouldn't do that on purpose.
Journalistic standards. Journalistic standards. They would never do that wouldn't do that on purpose. Journalistic standards.
Journalistic standards. They would never do that.
Never do that, obviously.
Just accept the hug.
Yeah, just give the guy a hug.
Just let him have it.
He's not a big hugger,
but I know now this is a good
learning experience for both of us.
But
yeah, I love Robert. We were laughing about
half of the game.
He wasn't.
That side eye.
I don't know.
His side eye.
He's not.
He's got like nine kids.
They're going to ask him
why he won't hug their dad.
It's true.
That's a good question.
I mean.
But we got,
you know,
we got a good thing going.
There's a lot of,
a lot of belief right now.
And,
and it's fun.
Yeah,
it's fun when you can come to work.
It's a fun environment and there's jokes and pranks and,
and then,
you know,
we know when to be serious and turn it on and guys all believe in each
other.
We get on the same page.
You know,
that's when it starts to come together and that's when it starts to get
fun.
And you said, to get fun.
Winning is fun.
You know, like you guys, a lot of you guys played.
DB, you know this.
Winning is fun.
So the teams that are having fun right now are the teams that are winning.
And you can get anybody on here who's having his team start off hot.
It's going to be fun.
And if you're 0-3, you're sitting there without a a win like that's not fun but the season isn't over you know that's why I just I just hesitate
to like write some of these teams off you know there's injuries that happen on both sides there's
guys you get back after four weeks there's the first four weeks of film and then a chance to
kind of re-evaluate what you're doing so I find it comical that there's these calls for play caller switches
or quarterback demotions or different things that happen
because it's really early.
Now, that being said, the Red Rocket, he sure was on one the other day.
Yeah.
And I got to see Andy and Kent.
We actually went against Carolina in one of his joint practices,
and he's just a good guy.
Age, you know, you play with him in Cincinnati, but he's such a great guy.
Been in some really interesting situations over the years since he left Cincinnati,
but one of those guys you pull for because he's one of the good guys in the NFL. So really happy for Andy and his performance.
Yeah, he looks cool too.
Oh, yeah.
That haircut change was amazing. He's got great hair. I mean, great looks cool, too. Oh, yeah. That haircut change was amazing.
He's got great hair. I mean, great hair.
Good beard. It was a big move for him, too.
That was like Gordon
Hayward, almost.
Yeah, whenever he had the hair change,
it was like, wow, this is a new dude.
They did Flacco a few more times.
Yeah, Flacco did the same thing.
There's no gingers in the set, right?
BC's not a ginger, is he?
I got some right in the beard, but nah, I want to
consider myself a ginger. What do you
do if you are a ginger and
you want to keep the gin?
Is there a just for men for... Red?
Ooh. For red? Gotta be.
They would be so quick.
I don't know. Ginger Coalition's
pretty... I mean... Yeah, they're a sturdy
bunch. Do you think he's using
it, Ant?
No!
You're calling this a fake red beard?
No.
This is a red rocket.
You think the red rocket needs help getting more red?
I don't think so.
Just remember to light red brown.
I know that John Kuhn over the years
was worried about the gray in his beard,
and he may have found a solution.
And if he did, he might pass that on to Andy.
It's possible.
There's a chance.
By the way, the gray in the beard I think looks good.
Oh, yeah.
I think it looks good.
And the dark-haired guys who try to cover it up, we know.
Looking at you, Bob Costas.
It's purple.
We can see that your beard is not that color.
Don't be a fool.
We know.
Bob Costas has a beard?
No, he doesn't, but his hair is like jet black
and he's like 78 years old.
Oh, we don't know his beard.
Yeah, we do.
We do not know.
Let it go, Bob.
You don't need to be doing it as liberally as you are.
I would like it to be clear.
I would like it to be clear that I was talking about Beards.
I was not talking about Bob Costas.
I just felt the need to get that out.
You got a little something bone to pick with Bob Costas there?
I'm sure we do.
I'm sure we do.
I don't love the way he calls baseball games, but that's neither here nor there.
I mean, remember at halftime every year or whatever that was,
whatever year he did it, he would just get on his soapbox every halftime.
Oh, and yell at us.
Yeah, I do remember.
I'm trying to watch football right now, Bob.
Come on.
But I use a little touch of gray because Aaron, yours is nice.
Aaron, yours looks cool.
It looks like a grizzle vet there.
You're old as shit.
You feel old?
No.
These guys keep me young.
They keep me young.
I felt young the other night, I have to tell you that much.
When you were running?
Hey, how about you a little high-stepping, bub?
There was a little fucking heat, you know what I mean?
Yeah, and there wasn't any high-stepping.
I gave up a little early on the sideline there.
I didn't think he was going to tackle me,
but it wasn't a dirty play at all.
We actually pounded it up after that.
You know, I had a little fist pound.
You still get the...
I mean, it has happened over the years.
I assume it will continue. Dudes that
watch you whenever they're growing
up, they get to meet you, play against you. Seems like
your interactions with the other teams are always pretty
fun. Drake may have hung around
actually after just to say hello.
How do we feel about that? You just feel old
in those moments? Do you feel like
do you think it's a sign of respect? Do you
try to give game? How do you handle those situations now that you are the old do you think it's a sign of respect? Do you try to give game? Like, how do you handle those situations?
Now you are the old icon on the field, you know?
I thought it was really cool that Drake stuck around to say hello.
I mean, it's something definitely that I would have done as a young player
to some of the guys I loved watching growing up.
I just happened to be teammates with, you know, my favorite quarterback at the time.
But that was really cool.
Yeah, I'm glad.
And I reached out to Drake on Instagram and told him I appreciated that.
It was cool.
That was a really cool moment.
You know, there's something about having that respect and deference
that I just really appreciate.
So I had a good conversation with Alexlex van pelt who's the coordinator about
drake and they're all excited about uh about him in the future i you know selfishly i'd love for
him to be able to sit i love jacoby i've known jacoby forever i think he's a really good quarterback
and um you know it wasn't a great performance for their offense here tonight but our defense
pretty damn stout but uh young quarterbacks know, the rarity is the kid last night.
Unbelievable performance.
I mean, Daniels played incredibly well.
We got to see him in training camp.
Again, joint practice with him.
And I was impressed, by the way, through the ball.
I actually did watch a decent amount of film on him
because we were looking at both their stud receivers.
The kid who played last night for Jacksonville, I believe, Thomas.
And then, obviously, neighbors.
You know, we thought there would be a chance to pick either of those two guys.
So in the process of watching those guys, you got to see Daniel's play,
and he was very impressive.
What I loved about him is that he played from the pocket on time.
And when you can do that, you can stick around the league for a long time
because he also has that extra skill set that we saw last night that he can run.
I mean, he can really, really run.
And he is fast and athletic and elusive.
But the key to sticking around the league is playing from the pocket.
And I think that's, again, to highlight another guy I played last night,
my good buddy Josh, who's playing at MVP level.
And I told him, you know, I told him,
I think I told him every year he comes
to my flag football event, you know,
he's going to win MVP in this league.
I mean, he's that talented.
He's an incredible player.
But if you watched him last night, you know,
number one, he slid a couple times, which is smart.
That a baby Josh.
That a baby Josh.
But number two, it's just like with Jaden.
Like winning football is playing from the pocket.
And then when it breaks down, every now and then you've got to make a few plays outside off schedule.
And Josh has been a master at that, you know, for the last few years.
But it's honestly it's what i want to be able to do
myself and i know i'm 40 but there's gonna be a couple plays every single game where you're
gonna have to make something off schedule even when you're 40 and i can play from the pocket
and i've been getting the ball out on time and and and throwing the ball pretty accurate but
i know there's going to be a couple times during the game and Thursday night was the first time I was able to really exploit those opportunities and those are big plays you know
backed up on the eight yard line I hit Lazardi breaks a couple tackles now we're out by midfield
you know another third down I moved to the left I hit Conk we get a roughing call now in a plus
territory another time move to my right you know here you know moving to my right
you know nobody's open standing to play hit conk for a first down like there's going to be a few
of these plays in the game and you know if you make these you can put some points up starts with
though why josh has been so successful so far playing from the pocket why daniel's played so
good last night,
it wasn't like everything was off schedule.
It was him making plays from the pocket.
Touchdown to Terry, last one.
Yeah, that was awesome.
And he knew there was pressure and he knew how to get it up
and he had a beautiful stop and go on the outside.
They're in a zero coverage here.
He knows there's one extra guy
he knows where he's going with the ball he throws an absolute dime it's really hard to you got a guy
barreling down you got to put enough air on terry on that ball so he can stutter go and then you got
to expect where he's going to be when he transitions out of this i mean this he's throwing the ball as
terry is stuttering that's it's an incredible. So you've got to give credit not just to Jaden,
but Cliff Kingsbury I thought called a great game.
Dan Quinn, you know, anybody that's been around Dan loves him.
He's created a really good culture there.
And then, you know, the stuff that I heard from Terry,
when they're talking about Terry on the field, because he came in,
I believe he had eight catches for 39 yards.
They read us in the first two games.
Terry McCoy has had 1,000 yards, but I saw on the thing last night,
like 10 different quarterbacks have thrown the ball before J.
But his humility in that moment, that's what you need from your star players.
You need your best players to be your best people.
And I give Terry a lot of credit.
Obviously, him to have a couple big plays was awesome last night.
I think he had four for 100 or something like that,
which is great for him.
But I have a ton of respect for Terry
and even more after just kind of hearing the commentary last night
about how he's kind of gone about it
and knows I'm going to get it in time.
I know I'm going to get mine.
But just the patience that we don't see a lot in this league from
star players if it's not starting out right.
I would say to those star players, too, it's a long season.
It's 17 weeks. You never know when you
get hot, get on a roll, hit a stretch
of games where you place a certain type of
defense and you get more long ones and you get
opportunities.
I was really
impressed by the quarterback play from the two
winning quarterbacks last night.
Good, AJ.
You mentioned these guys playing from the pocket.
Is that something that you think guys do that more or less now,
say 20 years ago when you came in the league?
Like are they being taught in college?
Is it a lot – I guess is there a bigger transition now from college
to the pros, a lot of these guys?
It's a big transition.
I think first and foremost, most of these guys don't play under center.
They don't play under center a lot.
They don't call their own cadence.
Why not, though, Aaron?
Why don't we go under center at least every once in a while
if we want to go fourth and one or something?
Why are some teams absolutely won't do it?
I think they think that quarterback-center exchange is going to go bad
because we'll never do it, right?
Isn't that literally the fear?
Isn't that what it is?
I'm not sure about that, but you saw last year your favorite team won the national championship playing under center a decent amount, run the football.
But you've got to play from under center in the NFL because you've got to give the potential of doing everything from under center with keepers, with action, and then also run the football.
with keepers, with action, and then also run the football.
The league, as Mel Kuyper said last week,
the league has gone to the trend of a lot more two-high defenses and a lot more nickel personnel.
So you're going to have to run the football to win this league.
That's why you're seeing, I think, points are down, touchdowns are down,
because defenses are playing a lot softer.
And as far as quarterback play goes,
these guys have to learn how to call a cadence
they have to learn how to play under center and read a defense under center is different
you can't just be in the gun all the time so there is a transition that's why i think it's
important a lot of these guys sit you know if they're not nfl ready just yet and i've said this
before top picks going to teams picking high are teams that are not one player away usually very rare that you're just one
player away so you know kudos to uh to dan quinn and his staff um they've obviously created
something down there they're two and one uh they've scored on a ton of straight possessions
there were no punts last night they obviously figure some stuff out on offense and jayden looks
really really comfortable which is a credit to him and the coaching staff there and the vet players around them of making them feel like
uh you know the proper confidence for all that so but it's hard you know i think with caleb and in
chicago you know he's as talented as i've seen coming in the league and i think it's going to be
finding more completions on time because he's so dynamic off schedule but it's going to be finding more completions on time
because he's so dynamic off schedule,
but it's hard to play off schedule 10, 15 times in a game.
And whether that's – I haven't seen the film.
So whether it's protection or route concepts,
a guy's just not open, whatever it is,
we need to make it a little easier for him, I think,
throwing the ball on time from the pocket.
And then you add, you know, these three to five plays where you have to make something happen, which we saw.
Jaden wasn't running all over the place unless it was read option stuff.
You know, he was throwing the ball on time from the pocket.
Josh throwing the ball on time from the pocket.
And then three to five times in a game, you're going to have to make an off-schedule play.
So that's how you're successful in this league.
So to your point about the Buffalo Bills,
I've got a Hembo stat here.
Last season, the Bills were under center 28% of the time
and had 46% of their pass yards from yards after catch.
This season, they're under center 46% of the time,
63% yard after catch.
So it's in rhythm in time.
Damn.
Throwing the ball, good placement.
Right?
That's what that stat says right there, Aaron?
Yes.
I had an old coach that said stats are for effing losers.
I'm not sure I agreed with that.
Because I think stats can tell an interesting story.
And Bo.
Which one?
Stats can tell
both stories.
Yeah.
All the time.
In every argument somehow.
It is phenomenal.
But I think
what you're saying...
Just the eye test.
You know,
just the eye test.
Watching Josh.
He's throwing the ball
on time.
And if we throw the ball
on time consistently
with proper accuracy,
like the ball last night
the touchdown to Shakir.
Was it Shakir?
Yeah.
They ran just shallow cross, right? Josh throws it. shows oh you even got the clip look at this this is perfect
oh you got the clip one hitch ball in perfect position where a guy can run after catch
they're playing man so nobody has vision of the football you just got to break one tackle
explosive game that's a simple play and if you can key up the the coleman clip
can you key up that clip?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, absolutely.
Okay, look at this.
Okay, we're going to take a little action under center.
We're going to hit the top.
We're going to throw a perfect ball, catch the ball on the five.
It's perfectly in stride.
That's a touchdown.
If that ball is behind him, it's a nice play, first down.
Ball's on the three, but you put it one foot in front of his face mask there,
it's a touchdown.
I mean, that's the difference.
You know, when you can play under center and you can use your hitches properly and you throw the ball on the proper number,
that's how you get the yards after the catch.
So Josh is playing through three weeks.
I believe he has seven touchdowns.
Is that right?
Seven or eight touchdowns?
And no pick.
No pick.
No pick.
Josh is taking care
of the football
and that's winning football
and that's playing
at MVP level.
It does feel like
there's a lot more good
Josh Allen happening
right now than much less
negative.
And that I think goes
into what D-Butt's
about to ask you about.
Yeah,
you kind of touched
on it earlier.
Dylan,
you know,
being a young quarterback,
obviously you're,
you know,
old head now,
triple OG,
but as a younger quarterback,
managing that relationship
with number one wide receivers.
You know, obviously Josh Allen, he loses Steph Diggs.
We talked about him earlier.
You talked about the Terry McLaurin comments coming into this game with a slow start.
You always have cameras on the sideline.
It's going to be reading every body language and everything that the wide receiver does once they get there.
How tough is it managing those relationships as a younger quarterback in the league?
It's really, really important. And first and foremost, you got to find ways to get that guy
the ball. But secondly, you want there to be a mutual respect on the field that you're not going
to show them up and they're not going to show you up because there's no quicker way to kill a
quarterback's confidence than showing up your guy in the field, especially when you're a young player.
And I think it's tough sometimes for veteran guys
who maybe have been with a veteran quarterback before or got more touches,
don't feel like they have the role that they want.
It's tough.
And, again, that's why I highlight Terry, you know,
because there could have been some fits and some frustration
and some helmets thrown when you have eight catches for 39 yards in the first two games.
But I don't feel like I saw any clips of that.
And everything he said during the week was spot on.
So you don't want to show up in your guys in the field
and you don't want to be shown up as a young player
because that can get in your head and you maybe start forcing the ball to the guy.
It's got to come in the flow, come in the rhythm.
There's ways you can do it. you want to get your guy involved early and
often but uh defenses can dictate some of that um especially if they're going to play a lot of
cover two against your your top guy or star coverage or some help as well which we saw
uh there's i feel like there's more legitimate number one corners maybe in the league uh this
year than than we've seen in the previous years.
We've faced some great ones the first three weeks,
and we got one of the best, if not the best, this week.
Obviously, I love our guys in New York.
Counting out our guys,
Pat Sertan is mentioned among the best corners in the league
with just about anybody you talk to, and rightfully so.
I mean, he does start coverage.
He plays on the slot.
He plays outside.
He tackles.
He's got great ball skills.
He stays on the hip.
He's incredibly savvy and patient.
I mean, he is a hell of a player.
And there's, you know, there's, listen, there's only one of him,
but there's more guys who are in that category.
Christian Gonzalez is a fantastic player.
LeJarius Sneed, we played.
Charverius Ward, you know, there's some legerius need we played charius ward you know
there's some really damn good corners we played in the first three weeks four weeks counting this
one so um but again you know just to finish the on your question uh it's an important relationship
and the more communication you can have uh the better that's going to be and the more patience
on both sides uh a lot of times it's that to the young guy because the young guy is just trying to
figure out what the hell is up and down.
The more patience
you can have with the young guy,
the more confidence you're going to give him.
In turn, probably the more opportunities
you're going to get.
Some people try to paint it bad if it's
going bad. They don't talk about how
whenever it was going good, it was a very similar relationship.
You have a great guy on your team.
You're going to try to give him the ball anyways because he's a great guy.
But then also, if you know him.
That's why the Josh Allen convo about him saying, like,
this year it feels like he's more free, seemingly,
because Stephon Diggs isn't there.
And people are saying, well, that's a shot at Stephon Diggs.
He's like, no, it's just a very different team
when you don't have that particular playmaker out there.
You know, so it's a fascinating
development up there in buffalo josh looks like he's having the most fun he's ever had yeah playing
football yeah he's you know he's got a good a lot of good things going on he's in some commercials
he's dating the hollywood starlet oh yeah he's the he's got that thing on the side of the building
i forgot about that guy's got that super serious the side of the building. I forgot about that.
Guy's got that super serious face.
Downtown Buffalo.
Let everybody know we're about business around here.
That's right.
Drinking Gatorade and we're about fucking business.
Hey, speaking of great corners, you better protect Sauce Gardner.
I think he's got a bear family that's been coming to his house.
I've been following along on social media.
What?
You got the latest video?
Yeah, he just posted one this morning, I believe. He said, they're running up on him,
I think is what he said.
That's not good.
He said,
he's at a pivotal point here.
Do I start feeding him
and treat him like family
or do I go the other way?
Don't do that.
Sauce asking a question.
I think he's doing a poll right now.
He's going to have to move
like MCD to see if he does.
Where are these bears at?
Do you live near bears over there?
I didn't know you guys
were in bear country.
I think he needs
to call up Jordan Love.
I think he's the owner of Jordan Love. I think he's
the owner of them right now.
Oh, God.
All right.
On that note, this is the bear
family that is outside sauce.
There's a lot of them.
I don't know where he's at in New Jersey.
I haven't seen that many bears around
my place.
Where are they going right there?
Are they going inside the house?
I'm not sure.
I thought I was going to say sure, but it's a kitchen patio right there.
He might be sitting at a table right there.
They look hungry.
He might need to take care of them.
Sauce got good food.
He probably smells something from the kitchen.
Oh, yeah, probably.
Is that a Buffalo Wild Wings guy?
He does have his own B-Dub sauce.
That's probably the Bear community.
They've actually migrated from Maine.
Ty, what do you think?
You should call J-Love or what?
I mean, I think so.
But, Aaron, I did want to ask you.
You never really had a situation like this.
But Matt LaFleur mentioned, especially after last week,
but then again this week, he said,
I don't really think people realize how difficult it is to do what Malik Willis has done the last two weeks
with only being there for 16 or 18 days or whatever the case may be.
I don't know if you've got to see much of either one of those games,
but how difficult is that when you're coming in to a new place like that?
And obviously everyone knows what the Packers game plan was going to be,
at least against the Colts,
but how difficult is it to do what Malik Willis has done the last two weeks?
Yeah, I think it's really difficult.
I think he deserves a lot of credit for that.
I remember an even shorter time when Baker came in for L.A.,
I believe it was, and got there like on a Monday yeah Monday
football I remember way back in the day Carson Palmer did that in a short week going Arizona
out of retirement I think to Oakland and playing in a short week if my memory serves but
it's really hard I think Matt deserves a lot of credit for the planning put together
I didn't see either game,
but I saw a couple of
clips of Malik and it looked like he made a couple
really nice throws to Christian down the field.
I saw
with the first play, they lined up and
faked a sweep and hit
one of the
three. It was Reed.
I've got Reed for a big game to get
him going. Malik has a really good skill set running the football,
and obviously he can run the Reed option well.
I think a lot of people questioned him throwing a rhythm from the pocket.
But, again, it just takes confidence.
So, obviously, Matt put together a plan to get him real confident early on.
And when a guy starts getting confident, they can play up to their potential.
So, Matt, I think, as they say, was in his bag. early on and when a guy starts getting confident they can play up to their potential so um uh matt
i think as they say was uh was in his bag uh with with the play calling and uh and happy for malik
uh i don't know how he handled it it sounded like he handled it pretty well going back to tennessee
but i'll tell you there would have been some feelings for sure going back to that place that
drafted me uh so uh he seems like a real good kid.
And, you know, I think just football fans in general,
unless you're a fan of the Titans, probably pretty happy for Malik.
Yeah, I was pumped to watch Malik do his thing.
LaFleur, you said he was in his bag.
Not only calling plays, afterwards a fire alarm starts going off
while he's doing his press conference.
And he said, they told me this place would burn down if we came in here
and got away with Malik.
And I guess that's true.
But anyways, next question.
That was a great bar.
Well, the floor was on it, obviously.
Pristine eyebrows.
We continue on YouTube, ESPN Plus, and TikTok Live.
We'll see you tomorrow.
Have a good one.
Right there.
See this?
Got it.
That's professional journalism right there.
We used to give Matt a hard time about some of his bad jokes
So it sounds like his humor's gotten a little better
Which is good
I don't think
I can't say this for sure either
I'm not sure that he's
Got any gray going but his hair
And facial hair is usually
Pretty on point
Not saying he's painting or anything
But
He always has a fresh cut Pretty on point. Not saying he's painting or anything. Oh, whoa.
But he always has a fresh cut going.
I'm assuming he still does.
Man, his mouth.
No way.
He's painting those eyebrows.
I don't know if he's painting, but he is definitely getting a haircut every Friday or Saturday.
Without a doubt.
Which I respect.
Maybe two times a week.
Could be.
Wow.
That fade is always very tight. Yeah, but he's painting. He's not painting. Look, there's a. Which I respect. Maybe two times a week. Could be. Wow. That fade is always very tight.
Yeah.
Yeah, but he's painting.
He's not painting.
Look, there's a little gray in there.
But maybe he left a gray in there.
That's what he got signed to be the coach.
So I know I gave him a couple more gray hairs.
Is there any?
Hey, that's good.
Hey, hey.
You got a recent picture?
Is it more gray or less gray?
He probably has less gray now that my old ass is out.
Yeah, he got younger somehow, seemingly.
Is it my skin smoother?
My hair?
I woke up.
It's all dark now.
Rest levels are better.
Wow, man.
This is great.
He probably did up his D a little bit because he's been doing this a lot.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, a lot.
A little bit more.
A little bit more of this.
What'd you do during the mini Bible? Did you read a book? Watch anything? You say meditated a couple times. Body felt good. You watch some sports, yeah. Yeah, a lot more of that. A little bit more. A little bit more of this. What'd you do during the mini-bye week?
Did you read a book?
Watch anything?
Did you meditate a couple times?
Body felt good?
You watching sports?
Obviously, you lost from football.
You watching college ball at all?
What'd you do during the mini-bye?
I did.
You know, I know there could be a little bit of clamor for the book club to come back,
and I read The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.
Me too.
Tone did not read that. Tone did not read that.
Tone did not read that.
That's unbelievable. He has an AP vote
and this guy is just making up lies right here.
Does he really have an AP vote,
Tone does?
Keep coming back, Aaron.
Keep coming back.
Whoa, whoa, you can't say that.
Well, he sent me a watch, one of his beautiful watches.
What about the old guy in Chicago?
Does he still have a vote?
Oh, jeez.
I love you.
I'm not giving any MVP vote to anybody that's unvaccinated.
How about that?
Not going to get my vote unless you got a vaccine, four of them.
Hasht hashtag quotes that
didn't age well yeah there's a lot of those these days aaron buddy buddy we don't want to dive in
today it's week three week three uh aaron rogers tuesday uh so you read the seven laws of physics
so what you said i don't think i i think i heard uh what was the name of the book physics spiritual
success there it is sorry sorry about it seven laws of spiritual success yeah There it is. Sorry, sorry about it. Seven Laws of Spiritual Success?
Yeah, it's a good one.
It's a short book.
You would love it.
It's only like 90 pages, quick read.
Yeah, very simple wisdom.
Written by Deepak Chopra.
That's good.
I know who that is.
We've heard that name before.
He was in the book club before, I believe.
Deepak Chopra?
Yeah.
Of course. Does he have anra? Yeah. Of course.
Does he have an IG? Yeah.
I think I've seen some clips. What, is he a speaker on there? I think I've seen some clips.
Does he do influencing?
I don't even know how to answer that.
Well, I guess with his book, he
certainly is influencing.
Is this a Shang-Chi situation?
Shang-Chi is dead, by the way.
It's a movie.
It's Sin Zoo.
Are you talking about War of War?
Shang-Chi is dead.
I think Chuck Berry really
liked his book as well.
Nice.
Best guitar player of all time.
That's not Chuck Berry.
That's Jeff Goldblum.
That's not Chuck Berry. That isak. That's Jeff Goldblum. That's not Chuck Berry.
That is not Chuck Berry or Jeff Goldblum.
He does kind of look like Jeff Goldblum.
That is Deepak Chopra.
Can we get a side-by-side of Deepak and Goldblum?
Coming right up.
That's not Chuck Berry.
I was just double-checking.
I wasn't sure.
Chuck Berry was mentioned. Deepak loves Chuck Berry. He popped just double-checking. I wasn't sure. Chuck Berry was mentioned.
He popped up.
Oh, yeah, legend.
How come Ty stopped asking me questions?
What's going on?
Who?
What?
Ty doesn't ask questions anymore.
He just asked you.
That's why this guy will dope up.
You know what he did?
He said, ayahuasca in your bottle?
Jeez Louise.
Just asked you.
Literally, Bob Malik.
Oh, that was him? I thought that was BC.
Oh no.
Speaking of
Connor, Connor does have a question.
Yeah, I do, but now we're talking
about all this other stuff. Aaron, have you caught up
on the internet lately?
Have you seen all the stuff going on?
It's pretty wild in the streets right now.
It is crazy in the streets. It's hard not to just be
completely
engulfed by all of it.
We talked about it for like an hour this morning.
It's not electric in a good
way, but it's electric in the sense
like, holy fuck, this shit's really happening.
There's so much stuff happening right now. I assume you know that.
You had a mini bye week. What a time for him.
Yeah, that's what I mean. There's a lot of time.
You've read a 90-page book a lot of the time.
I'm practicing the law of detachment.
Smart.
I didn't do that.
A lot of people are doing that with their Twitters.
Yeah, they're just getting rid of them.
They're detaching from them completely, allegedly, allegedly, allegedly.
Anyway, seriously.
Those are for different reasons.
Allegedly, allegedly.
Okay, so you have to answer my question.
Oh, yeah.
He knows. Here's the photo of Jeff Goldblum. Wow. Allegedly. You do know.
Here's the photo of Jeff Goldblum.
It's pretty close.
That's AP voter there.
He's got a good eye.
Is Deepak from Pittsburgh too?
I think so. Good question.
I think, yeah.
You follow him on Instagram, Aaron?
Let's do a three-way.
Goldblum.
Three-way?
That's been a part of the topic of conversation on the internet.
A lot of that.
More than three, though. Like 10-way, 15, 20.
With who?
Who's doing that?
I think everybody I've ever heard of is what the internet's doing.
I need that many bottles.
Every human you've ever heard of, allegedly.
Five on five.
They're playing full court with no clothes.
That's in the gym.
That's what we're saying.
Everybody, we heard of.
Anyways, we don't have to distract Aaron.
Who's the third one?
Goldblum, Deepak, and then who?
Oh, yeah, sorry.
No, I don't want to do it.
It changed my mind.
Hey, focus on football.
Focus on football.
All right.
We feel good about where the Jets are, obviously.
We're only three weeks into this thing, but couldn't be a better start, right?
I mean, it could be a better start.
Well, it could be 3-0.
Yeah, it could be 3-0.
It could be a better start.
Yeah, but with where the NFL sits as a whole, you know?
Yeah, I like where we're at.
I like the energy that we got around the facility.
But, you know, we can't ride too high with the highs or too low with the lows.
I literally said in the locker room after the same friend,
they're going to write us off after one week,
and then we're going to win the next two and have a mini bye,
and they're going to suck us off a little bit.
We can't ride the highs too high, the lows too low.
Let's just enjoy where we're at.
We're three games in.
We're 2-1.
Don't let them suck. Get off. Yeah. But we got enjoy where we're at. We're three games in. We're 2-1. Don't let them suck.
Get off.
We got an important one this week at home and then
a long road trip
on Monday night.
Even though this week is kind of
semi-normal, we haven't
really had a normal week
to start the season.
It's been important for us to find a routine and to start the season. It's been important
for us to find a routine
and get into a rhythm, but
I like where we're at. I like the energy of the team.
I love our guys.
Morgan got hurt, but we were able to stay.
CJ was out
last week. We were able to stay fairly
healthy, which is good. CJ will be back this week,
I'm sure. Morgan hopefully won't
miss much time, but I'll step in for him.
Away we go.
We appreciate the hell out of you. Have a great Tuesday.
Thank you for the time. You're the man. Great Hooga House
hat on here. Is that Hooga House?
Hooga.
Hooga.
Shout out to
Jake Ryan. Jake Ryan just got married.
He eloped, went
off into the darkness, did a darkness
retreat, and got married.
Wow, that sounds...
Some of that's true. Darkness retreat may or may not be true.
Okay, well, congratulations
Jake Ryan. Proud of you, Jake.
Way to do it.
I'd have to turn on the lights.
Ty, you know where Jake Ryan went to school?
Yeah, he's a Michigan man.
Yeah, Michigan man. You're not a big Michigan fan, are you?
I'm not, but he's a former Packers legend.
So, you know, congrats on the nuptials.
Hey, wink.
Send him a little something.
Why don't you?
I will.
Send him a Hugo.
You should.
If he wants to send me his address, I'll buy him one of his hats.
Yeah, text him, too.
Text him a nice, funny joke.
I will.
Maybe do a couple impressions and say congratulations.
Come on. Maybe his daughter's classmate
will dox his address on the internet.
Oh yeah, like people up in Detroit
did the MCDC. Can't be doing that.
Unbelievable. Kids these days.
Jeez, don't be playing. It's Lions fans,
not kids. No, it's actually
students. It's students.
We got to shout out one other Packers legend
who likes to tune in.
That's Spencer Havener.
So shout out to Spence out in Gold Country.
Hell yeah, Spank.
Shout out, baby, Spank.
Five touchdowns in that one year, right?
Yep, and no motorcycle riding anymore.
Okay, what happened?
What a joke.
Bike got away from him late at night once.
That all happens.
I am a rider. I have a couple different bikes
I'll tell you
That is the biggest fear there
Bike getting away from you
Anytime you're detached from that thing
Nothing good takes place
Spank alright though?
Spank's in a good spot?
Spank?
Yeah
Talking to Spence?
Spence, yeah
Short for Spence Alright Spank We're happy Talking Spence? Spence, yeah.
Short for Spence.
Oh, Spon.
All right, Spank.
We're happy to hear you're all right.
That's a fear of mine.
I'm happy to hear you're good.
Ladies and gentlemen, four-time NFL MVP.
You guys, dude, cherish the little things.
Danish, ladies and gentlemen, Aaron Rodgers.
Yeah, Aaron.
Let's get to a break.
That was a good one.
That was a good Aaron Rodgers.
Who do you think he's voting for?
Call him back Call him back
Can you vote as the VP?
Well, he was going to be the VP
I think he has since been influenced
That's the big thing
He should do one of the register to vote commercials
I got a couple of those already floating out there
From the NFL
Voter die I think was Diddy's thing
Was it really? Well, LeBron won I didn die, I think, was Diddy's thing, right? Yeah, it was. Oh, was it really?
Well, LeBron wore it.
It was nice to know Rock the Boat was just a voter die.
LeBron had the voter die shirt.
Because I remember someone commenting underneath the tweet saying,
LeBron, I'm only 13.
I don't want to die.
Classic meme.
Good luck to everybody during this political season.
Hope you guys all get along
with each other.
Hope everybody gets along
with each other out there.
Me too.
There's a lot of good sports
taking place if you just
kind of want to...
You're distracting people,
of course.
Just so much better.
Tomorrow, Hamlin.
Just in real time.
Fairytale book is happening.
Hope it's something good.
And also, maybe read a book like
The Seven Laws of Spiritual Success.
Or Beirut.
Or Beirut by
Jack Carr. Very different.
Yeah. Very different.
Success in both. It's good.
Beirut. Jack Carr did
send us some books. Autograph. Thank you, Jack.
Thank you, Jack. Love you, Jack.
Every time he comes something
happens i know i wonder if he's gonna be back in town because of this that's right thank god he's

No.
I'm sorry, nonfiction.
Yes, correct.
True story.
Not fake.
Same thing.
This is his first.
He's normally writing fiction.
It is his first nonfiction.
Yeah, it's about Beirut.
Sweet.
I know they're filming a new series, too, a new season.
Beirut.
The beer drinking game.
Jack Carr.
It's got to be cool to be named that at first.
All right.
Let's get to a break.
We'll be back on the other side.
Listen.
It's fall.
It's football season.
That was disappointing.
It's cool.
There's no reason to brag about it.
It's cool.
His boy's going to be a Navy SEAL.
His name will be Jack Carr.
Jack Carr.
He's an author.
Excuse me.
I was disappointed.
It's like A.J.
Hawk.
You know that's going to happen.
That's not his name.
That's not me.
That's Aaron James. You fool. It's boy. It's like A.J. Hawk. Like, you know. That's not his name either.
That's Aaron James.
You fool.
It's fall.
It's football season.
It's coffee season.
In fact, it's pumpkin spice season.
What?
And let's all be honest and cut to the chase.
Coffee makes you poop.
It does.
Now, for a limited time, they have pumpkin spice dude wipes to help you clean those pumpkin spice latte poops.
Nice.
Not a joke.
Dunkin' Spice Dude Wipes are for real.
They smell glorious and are available currently only at Target.
Ooh.
Be a friend.
Tell a friend something nice that might change their life.
Like Dude Wipes, especially the Dunkin' Spice.
Because when you get that mud butt, combat it with these Dude Wipes that smell delightful.
Nice.
Okay. If you get an Etarge, you are in your bag. So congrats to Dude Wipes that smell delightful. Nice. Okay.
If you get an Etage, you are in your bag.
So congrats to Dude Wipes.
Bruh.
Absolutely.
Shout out to Dude Wipes.
Multi-billion, I think more than a billion dollar valuation.
Wow. I thought we had a coffee sponsor for a second and I got real excited.
We do not have a coffee sponsor, but if you like coffee like this office does in abundance,
your butthole also going to be active.
When it is, utilize Dude Wives.
He's the greatest.
That's A.J. Hawk right there.
The Talks at the Table is here at Boston Corner and at Ty Schmidt.
One half of the hammer.
Cowboys AP tone is here.
Nine-year NFL vet and a man who's about to host a segment called
Everything DB, Good D, Bad D.
Darius J. Butler is here.
That'll be in a matter of moments.
We have some news from the program here.
We promoted three guests who are going to be on the show today.
That's right.
Probably, before the show started.
All three guests showed up.
Wow.
That's the first time.
Unreal.
Wow.
That's the first time in a long time.
Yeah.
Pretty big.
Put the tweet out earlier today on X.
Like, you know what?
People should hear that we got Dallas,
DeMar, and Aaron on today.
That's something most shows would do.
They would promote it.
They'd say, hey, listen.
Got some pretty big guests,
pretty timely guests,
pretty topical guests.
Should be a good conversation
on this glorious Tuesday.
Maybe you should check it out.
Every show would do that.
We can't, you see, because every fucking time we've done it since the beginning of this
show's existence, somebody's canceled.
Even every guest has potentially got caught up doing something else, and we had nobody.
So we have a strict policy of not promoting anything about anybody because there's a chance
anything could happen.
That's right.
Today, though, we reversed the curse, boys.
Boom.
We did.
We did it.
We ate the poop.
It's a good sign.
Buffalo Bills fans were pumped DeMar Hamlin was coming on.
Philadelphia Eagles fans were pumped that Dallas Goddard was coming on.
And then, obviously, Jets fans were reminded Aaron Rodgers Tuesday's happening.
Like, that's what people do for shows and shit.
Yeah.
We haven't been able to because anytime we did it we got fucked
Every single time
ESPN people
Who we're getting along with more and more people
In certain positions at ESPN
That I think everybody should be pumped about
I think we got
They're always like hey why don't you let us
Tell people who are coming on the show
It's like don't tell anybody actually
Shut up
Don't fucking say anything
There isn't even show today put the tweet out bunch of people that follow the program like oh no shouldn't done
It's done that today. We reverse curse tree
Yeah, so it'll never happen again no won't what what won't if you promote anybody they're all coming on
Universe boy if it, no, no.
I think the universe ball.
Tom, please.
I think the universe ball will be another tweet saying who's coming on.
That's the universe ball.
Oh, okay.
So that's like the reality.
But that's the situation we're talking about here, though.
Well, you don't have the universe ball universe ball.
Yeah, but I think we should potentially see what the universe is saying.
I think you should see what the universe has to say.
Good for the program to be able to tell people who's coming on show.
Without a doubt.
That could be pretty cool.
But universe balls have lies.
Did we do a show?
And by do a show, I mean this show where, oh, man.
I don't know.
This should be a.
All right.
Universe ball, yeah.
Just finish that up, Tome.
That's got to be a peeve.
Never forget it.
Never forget it.
What was it?
To clarify some journalistic standards, Aaron did not send him a watch.
No, he didn't.
He did not send him a watch.
But you're saying, keep calling back.
No way you're getting that vote.
No way Tone's getting that vote.
We're way too early in the season for him to be dancing with it as much as he has been.
There's a lot of weeks left for that thing to get revoked.
Oh, yeah.
Remember that, Tone.
We'll be fine.
AP Tone's a good name. Sweet name.
Universe Ball here. Able to promote
who's coming on the show and it'll actually happen
in the future again.
This is fucking huge for the program.
Walk in, dude.
Walk in right now. This one's got a lot of air
in it. I will say
I'm on a losing team in a game
33 in our
Thunderdome.
This is very new territory for me and Foxy. Not really.
Not really.
It's not that new.
It's been three weeks.
It's been three weeks.
It's been seven years.
I don't know about that.
This is the first time I've had a legitimate partner for an extended period of time.
Can Foxy not shoot anymore?
No, we used our good game last week in a non-title belt game.
It was a friendly.
Marks!
It's not a coincidence.
Against A. Cush.
Fuck!
Never mind.
Never mind.
How about that?
Never mind.
Everything we're doing is for naught.
We're not even doing the universe ball.
What?
I tagged wrong Dallas Goddard.
It wasn't even a proper tweet.
No.
Wait a minute.
So, didn't even count.
Didn't even know who it was.
Gotta be right.
Come on, Elon.
Who is that?
How is that not right?
I don't know.
I think it might have been his old one.
That guy's not.
That's gotta be him.
No, that's not.
He has a different one now.
Still counts.
That's all me.
Jeez Louise.
That counts.
So, I still promoted it though.
Yeah.
Yeah, still promoted it.
What's his new one?
How close is it to the old one? How about it's hard to find some of these. Like, the Mar Hamlins is promoted it though. Yeah. Yeah, still promoted it. What's his new one?
How close is it to the old one?
How about it's hard to find some of these.
Like Damar Hamlin's is Hamlin Island.
So if I put at D-A-M, like his name, Hamlin Island isn't even close.
You got to fuck up enough that it brings up the Goddard 33.
That's the same exact thing.
He's not 33.
He's not number 33.
So when I type Dallas, so I go at Dallas, Goddard 33 is not even
popping up, even though it has Dallas Goddard on there.
I think I figured we got sorted. The search bar
has gotten worse. Even if you're trying to find
a tweet, it's not the same. Yeah, with hashtags and stuff
too, it stinks. I'm sure Elon.
It's bad, brother.
Let us block people, Elon. Don't take it away.
Why are you holding up? I mean, this is no
coincidence that
before championships. Okay, they are the current 33 champs have been under them have been spent a few weeks for a long
Just three we are they really good at hitting your shot or what?
It has not been to get you see now. He's just lying
We don't want it we defended title twice. Yeah, you played in a friendly one time
the title twice.
Three games.
No.
You played in a friendly one time.
We defended the title three times.
Connor will say sometimes
when he's there,
oh, I got something to do.
I'm going.
And he never leaves.
And we don't play.
Sometimes things change.
You know that.
Look, we're taking
the first ball
because things change
on the show all the time.
Sometimes it does change.
You have to win
a national championship.
I'm very proud of you guys
for winning though.
It's fun, isn't it?
It's good shooting.
It's great.
You guys are playing great.
Yesterday was a good game.
You guys are playing
really good basketball right now. 33 basketball right now. I just want to let you know that. It's been an honor to a good game You guys are playing really good basketball right now
I just want to let you know that
It's been an honor to watch
With that being said
I don't care if it goes in the way your guys' balls go
In every fucking shot
Every shot
Bang bang bang bang bang
Bang bang bang bang
Do you get three tips on their miss?
Do you get three tips?
They must be pretty good at tips, too.
Are they hustling?
It depends.
I've been hooking up some good misses because of how tight the upper body is
because I've been doing a lot of beach pod workouts.
So if you have good misses, you're in a good spot.
Oh, yeah.
I'm a good misser.
Last week we played good defense.
You've got to read the ball.
You've got to read it out of their hands, though, right?
D-Bud, I'm sure, does that.
You've got to read it out of their hands to see where the miss is going.
Okay, Jay.
You get fucking worked in here.
I think you already have. I think you already have.
I think you already have. So I don't even know who you're talking to right now. I've only played 33 where you lower the
hoop and you dunk. You get extra points
for dunk tips. Yeah, we're reading the ball
out of their hand, AJ.
You absolutely
can do that. You've got to see where it's going to miss
and have a chance. You know shit!
What do you think you are?
It's not a perfect sign.
Who do you think you are? Some people are much better you think you are some people are much better than others that
read dennis robin he knows exactly where that ball is going 70 percent go long he would be
incredible at 33. yeah i mean yeah holy we almost saw the best rebound ever here when pac-man climbed
oh yeah i climbed a wall that was real that very real. That was his first time playing.
Of course, he fucking runs the wall.
It's insane.
Anyways, if we get back to what we're talking about,
we're allowed to promote guests on show.
Okay.
If this ball goes in.
Shout out to the universe giving us the answer.
Okay.
Once again, universe, we'd like to let you know.
It would be cool if we'd be able to do this.
It would help a lot.
I hope I get one of yours.
You going in?
Oh, fuck!
In my backstrap.
That would be a good tip.
A little noise here?
A little noise.
A little noise.
Got a little noise going on here.
Java.
Oh, wow. Good pass, here. Java. Yep. Oh, wow.
Good pass, Java.
Good omen.
Before they go to the program.
Yeah, throw a football.
Yeah, throw a football.
It's an international show, obviously.
See, that's exactly my point.
That is exactly my point right there.
You need a little more art.
Connor, yeah.
I need it.
Please.
Need a little more art.
Touch the fucking lights. Here, yeah. I need it. Please. I need a little more art. A little more art.
That's the fucking lights.
Here we go.
Like this.
Yeah!
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more art.
A little more Thank you for the good of the program. Anytime. Thank you for doing that. Jeez Louise.
So who's on the show tomorrow?
So tomorrow.
I mean, do I get to pick?
Yeah, I think you can.
Okay, I think we're going with Trump and Kamala.
And in the second hour, obviously we have J.J. Watt.
Nothing I can really do about that.
He's already bucked in.
Nothing you can do about it.
You would cut him.
What?
You'd make a shot here.
Are you cutting Cush?
Maybe we bump him to the third hour, do something else.
Jeez Louise.
And then, I mean, pick the litter.
You know, anybody possible across the entire planet.
Maybe like Gandhi.
He's dead.
Who's the acting Gandhi?
Ben Kingsley?
I think Rodgers, but We just had Rodgers today.
It might be that Chopra.
Deepak.
Perhaps.
All right, so I'm happy you made the shot.
McQuaid.
Yeah, McQuaid.
Maybe McQuaid's on tomorrow.
Maybe we'll figure that out.
But that's a massive shot right there for the good of our team.
I'm glad it went in.
All right, so you're taking all universe shots going forward.
That's good news.
Okay.
Okay.
And we are appreciative of that, by the way.
Okay, all right.
How about injury one?
How about injury one to reverse my dream goal?
You're going at your feet there.
Yep.
No, we can't reverse dreams.
A lot of the wall balls there.
Oh, no.
Oh, no.
South Park almost got it.
Got a good one.
Perfect.
No, they got it over.
Went through the hole.
Went through the hole.
Putt-putt.
Sound like somebody's big snake.
Hey, Tone just said sweet.
No, Halliburton ad dropped.
Can't wait to see that.
What?
I don't know.
This is for injuries for the rest of the NFL year.
Ah!
Boom!
It's a layup.
No, no more injuries, baby.
What happened?
No more injuries.
Yeah, got 11. Let's go. What a injuries. Yeah, I love it.
Let's go.
What a shot.
That was happening yesterday a lot.
Well done.
Oh, man, what a stud.
For the good of our universe.
Yeah.
Wow.
We're doing it.
Oh, yeah.
What is this?
Diddy's on tomorrow?
Is that one of the guests?
I don't think.
I don't know if we're able to have him.
I didn't see.
Diddy was not in that picture.
I got some questions.
So what's going on with Tyrese just put this out?
Tyrese Halliburton put this out?
Movado, that's a watch, right?
Who's that?
Is that Jessica Alba?
It sure is.
Is that Christian McCaffrey?
Ludacris?
Is that Chloe?
And then Redhead.
She's in Jurassic Park.
Julianne Moore.
Julianne Moore.
Oh, yeah.
Man.
Tyrese just told him.
Tyrese and Julianne Moore. Oh, yeah. Man. Look at Tyrese. Tyrese and Julian Moore getting cozy.
Wow.
So he's holding.
He's holding.
I'll hold him.
What's his right?
Is his right hand holding up the stage that McCaffrey and Ludacris are standing on?
I mean.
That's Christian McCaffrey?
I don't think any of them were in the same room when they took this.
I think they all individually had to do that.
Knowing how tall all of them are, I wouldn't be surprised if Tyrese is standing on the ground.
He's holding her up, and then they're on like a couple little pedestals.
Got it.
That's sweet, though.
Sweet ad.
Dude, look how cool he looks down there.
Pretty sweet.
I can see the watch, too.
It's right there on his left wrist.
Yep, jocked.
Does this make you want to buy a watch, D-Butch?
Hell yeah.
Yeah, me too.
Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now Movado spokesperson
Tyrese Halliburton.
Tyrese, let's talk about this.
We're live, we're live.
Tyrese, let's talk about this.
Are you holding that lady
on your shoulder and everybody else is on stairs?
Are you holding a stage? It cuts off the bottom here.
We'd like to know how this kind of worked out.
Yes, I was on a seat
and then they were like
just sit on his shoulder so i held it on my shoulder while everybody else stared and you
know we just made an image just made a good yeah you did yeah you did you look so cool in this did
you see this before it was released and uh how pumped are you that you're now like in a published
model hey this guy's a published model yeah Yeah. Good resume. Published model. Good for you, dude.
Yeah.
I'm excited.
It's a good look.
Everybody looks really good,
you know,
and there's some
legends around me,
so, you know,
I just,
I fit well there.
What was it like
on set with
Christian McCaffrey
and Luke, Chris,
and...
And Jessica Alba
and Julianne Moore.
Boom.
What was it like on set
with all your guys' watches
flashing around?
No, everybody's super cool.
Ludacris actually had a big part of me doing this.
He was pushing for me to be a part of it, so that was cool.
I'm a rock of the 49ers because of my boy Brock,
so me and Christian talked a lot about that.
Jessica Alba, she's Honey Daniels in the movie Honey.
Yeah.
Julianne Moore. What about Julianne Moore? And, you know, Jessica Alba, she's Honey Daniels in the movie Honey. So, you know.
What about Julianne Moore?
What's your favorite movie of hers?
Julianne Moore is a big Knicks fan.
So there was a lot of banter between us.
Okay.
All right.
You did some gardening, obviously, in Madison Square against the Knicks.
So I'm sure that was brought up.
Movado is a watch brand that I can buy everywhere, obviously.
Yeah, for sure.
Let's get you some pieces.
Come on, let's do it.
No, no, no.
No, I'll support the business because I'd like them to know that if you're going to have our friend model and wear watches,
we'll support the business.
Amen.
You have your own model?
They give you your own model?
I'm on a Halliburton edition.
Yeah, do you have a Hallie?
I don't yet, but, you know, it's something that's in conversation for sure.
Okay.
Sounds like not, though.
That's what I sound like.
You sound like it's not in conversation yet.
Bullshit.
It's in conversation.
If I were to make that up, what would I gain from making that up?
Well, just like hope that it would, you know, potentially lead to putting something in the universe.
We'd like to do that because I'd love to wear a Hallie.
Fuck yeah.
Yeah, I would wear a Hallie for sure.
Kidding me?
Wear it tomorrow.
Send us some Hallies.
It's not available yet, but it will be.
Fuck, man.
Wait, can somebody knock off the popcorn bucket and the Lisa bobblehead?
No, you have to come get that.
I'm not knocking that off until you come get that.
Okay.
Don't do that to Coach Plus.
Dale Jr. Or Dale's up there, so I can, so I don't want him falling on the ground.
Smart.
At least Bluer did not do anything to deserve to be, potentially.
You gave her away, though, right, for an Olympic gold medal?
Yeah, and the popcorn bucket.
Oh, I forgot the late add of the popcorn bucket
to really seal the deal for the Olympic gold medal on the other side.
I know.
That's one of a kind.
I know.
That's what I said, and I told him.
I was like, hey, I'm really not okay with parting ways with this yet.
He put up his Olympic gold medal.
He did.
He did, but he's going to have to come.
Oh, there it is.
Still good.
It's just always around.
Just shining it.
Just shining it.
I always got it in my pocket.
I just, you know, just so everybody who's watching the show knows,
I just got a random FaceTime call from Pat and the crew.
I thought, you know, they're calling me to talk shit.
Here we are.
I'm on the show.
Let's do it.
Okay.
We appreciate it.
We appreciate you answering and talking shit.
You're the man.
Thank you for showing up in the Colts suite.
You are becoming one of the stadium pillars over there, pal.
I guess.
Well, you forced me to get up there this time.
No, no, no.
That's bullshit. Same city. You and Blue were up there this time No That's bullshit
Same city
You and Blue were up there
You and Blue
Yeah
Me and Blue
Not the inflatable Blue though
I don't really bang with him
I like
Why not my school
That's not Blue
But the inflatable Blue and me
We don't
We don't really see eye to eye
There has been a little
What's he do?
He's a piece of shit
A lot of people think
Whoa
We're watching
I'm watching the Movado video now all of a sudden.
Brother, you're acting in this thing.
Look at that.
Holy shit.
She married?
Halle.
Halle.
All right, dude.
Hey, congratulations.
We're incredibly pumped for you.
When I move, you move.
Just like that.
Available now at Movado with our friend Tyrese Halliburton.
You're the man, brother.
Season starts soon.
Yeah, camp is next Tuesday. Camp starts next Tuesday.
Isn't that crazy? That's right. Out of the corner.
Right now. Get you one of these.
Get you one of these.
Connor, stop.
Good luck.
Alright, hey, great work on NXT.
You're the man, ladies and gentlemen, Tyrese Halliburton.
Yeah, Tyrese.
He's a good guy.
Man, just hanging out.
Who knows?
It's the middle of the day.
Training camp's not too far away.
Get a FaceTime from, hello?
You're fucking acting now?
Yeah.
Jeez.
Good at it.
Just hanging out.
Just shining his gold medal.
Just hanging out.
Remember, I think he was supposed to come on one day,
but he couldn't because he was shooting that in New York, remember?
Oh, yeah.
Had to shoot a commercial.
I forgot about him having to do that.
Tyrese, if you get around him,
it makes sense why people would like to keep him around.
Yeah, he's the best.
He's vibes.
He's the man.
He's got to have his own model.
He's got to have his own watch, for sure.
We need a Hallie.
We need to rock some Hallies out here.
We would for him.
Obviously, he's very good at basketball.
And his style of basketball is trying to make other people look good.
That is who he is as a player.
So that's obviously a good thing.
And that's probably a pretty humble mindset.
But then you get around him, his vibes are always immaculate.
It's like, what a perfect guy to be the leader of the Pacers.
And nobody's giving us a chance, especially know, especially those people up there in Boston.
Well, it makes sense.
I mean, before the season starts and you're the odds-on favorite
at plus 150 to win the title, I mean, what do you expect?
Well, and you guys were massively disrespected a couple different times.
That, you know, got people talking about injuries all playoffs.
Porzingis didn't really play the entire playoffs.
Is he going to be able to ever play?
He's not going to play until January anyways.
That's probably the right thing to do, right?
Bingo, yeah.
So we'll probably be, I don't know, like 40-5 by then.
And then we'll close out the season strong enough.
Basketball is so fascinating because, oh, I forgot the iPad.
Speaking of, is Sean still a free agent?
So I don't know.
That's interesting, isn't it?
I think it's really happening behind the scenes right now.
Okay.
I think for Sean.
They're making a decision this soon?
Everyone's still reeling from the Woj news.
Yeah, rest in peace, Woj.
Might need another month or so, I believe.
Everyone's tweets and stuff were very...
They did act as if Woj passed away. Body's still warm. He's tweets and stuff were very... He did act as if Lowe's passed away.
Bonnie's still warm.
He's general manager.
St. Bonaventure Bonnie. He won his life back.
I think Shefty said he hadn't showered in like
30 years because he couldn't get in there
because of the case of phobia.
It feels like the insiders
have a lot of empathy for other
insiders because they understand what life is, you know?
30 years.
30 years, yeah.
He did.
I mean, did ESPN even pay him, or did he do it for free?
I think he was paid very well.
Yeah.
Well, he was great at his job.
He was.
Top of the food chain.
He just wanted to step away and get his life back.
He didn't want to have to take a shower and watch his phone through the glass, the steam of the glass.
Watch out for the Bonneys, though.
Bonneys are going to be tough.
He broke a lot of news.
He did?
That made Walsh.
Good on you, Walsh.
He's losing.
Hell of a career.
Hell of a career.
What's that?
What?
What did you say?
What?
Did you say St. Bonneys?
No, no.
I mean, towards the end, there's always a counter on free agency
and the trade deadline and stuff like that.
No, no, no, no, no.
It's all hypothetical and the entire thing.
I mean, a lot of people really – some of the tributes were wild.
We never really got to know him, obviously.
Thought he died.
Yeah, legit there for a bit.
I thought something really bad happened.
Instead, he just decided one morning he wants to be a general manager of
St. Bonaventure Ponies.
Which, I mean, who wouldn't? I get it.
Have you seen the facilities? He wanted his life back.
Yeah. That was one of the things Jeffy did say.
He's like, do you have any idea what it's like
when you have to go take a piss
and you have to hold your dick in one hand
and your phone in the other hand and then
when you're done doing your business,
you've got to switch it so you can wash the hand that your dick was in.
They really weren't talking to me.
Yeah, legit.
I did that anyway.
That's when you read, when you're taking a leak.
What do you mean?
I do that on my own.
Yeah, but you're not actively awaiting some potential life-changing news
to come through.
And then having to switch apps.
Exactly, to be able to get out of messages.
Squeeze your penis too tight and piss all over
yourself because you get some exciting breaking news.
And what?
If you're at a urinal, too, there's a chance that thing bounces back.
Might drop the phone in the toilet.
Yeah, the phone in the toilet is a real fear
any time. And it seems like
always at the top of those urinals, not flat enough to put
anything on. Made perfectly enough, not flat enough to put anything on.
You know, made perfectly enough not to be able to put anything on top of it.
Because there is a chance it's going to fall.
The whole wearing khakis or blue jeans or gray pants at one of those is a real roll of the dice with the splash factor.
It is.
People don't really care.
Those ones that have a nice padded bottom.
Very kind.
I thought they just sat down when they did their business, no matter what.
Who?
Toilets only, so they have both hands.
Are you talking about the insiders?
Yeah.
Oh, to pee.
They're sitting down to pee.
Yeah, but you still got to push your dick down, because otherwise you're going to piss all over your underwear and your pants.
Yeah, maybe.
Do their phones not have a ringer?
So they just only have vibrate?
So I do think that they live a life of high anxiety.
The insiders.
I doubt it.
You can't miss a text.
Because if you miss a text,
is that potentially disrespectful to the person that could be your insider?
Every relationship.
Is there a real relationship?
Is there a real relationship?
Is there any real conversations?
Because I guess everything could be a gathering of information and you have to be
always on. That's why I think these insiders probably understand, you know, each other a
little bit more, which is why whenever you lose one, it's been around for 30 years. I think they're
like, it's got to change the game. Yeah, it's crushing. The amount of dedication to his cell
phone that this person had was trailblazing. Now're all doing that and it's a game who can
get 140 characters out first yep I'm happy we don't do that could you imagine that stuff they
get paid a lot of money though yeah because they are the news yeah the news is going to get out
inevitably no matter what but at some point from somebody whether it's from the team the person
like inevitably maybe not all news but like most news is going to make its way out.
The first person to do it and gets credit for it is such a massive business.
What a business that is.
Yeah.
Legitimately.
And people do keep track.
Oh, yeah.
There's some young guns out there.
Mm-hmm.
Hungry.
Got some hungry young insiders.
Don't even sleep.
21 hours of screen time or something?
During the free agency and the trade.
Man.
Didn't Jay Glazer say lies?
That's too much.
That's why he breaks the big ones on Sunday.
Yep.
Young man's game.
Scoopage.
Yeah, well, obviously he's still going to.
But he said he doesn't want to deal with all the little ones.
He said he couldn't do it anymore.
He said he's just going for the big ones.
Yeah, after the COVID one.
Brian Allen?
Yeah.
First player ever?
Sit down.
Sit down for this.
Brian Allen, the fourth string center for the Rams, has COVID.
We'll let you drink that in and take it however you want.
Vaughn got it.
We built that up for an entire show
I remember
24 hours
Yeah
Cause there was no news
Cause there was a tease on like Tuesday
Uh huh
From Jay
Yep
Massive world news
For the next night
They were doing a program
Coming tomorrow night
And then like 25 minutes later
Vaughn Miller got it
And then
Everybody
And then yeah
Jeez
That's what he said He's peeking his head back out here Put it down Oh And then everybody And then yeah Jeez That's what he said
He's peeking his head back out here
Sit down
Who?
And then Viet
COVID?
Oh is it?
Yeah man
Careful
What do you mean?
I've seen people around Indy getting it
Really?
Yeah
Here and there
Indianapolis?
Yep
A few people were coughing in here
I'm not going to say
Whoa
Who?
Come on now
We can't just be throwing COVID out
Who the fuck is doing that?
Bone almost passed out earlier from coughing so hard.
Bone disappeared yesterday.
Did you guys see that?
Yeah, because he had a coughing fit.
Was that what it was?
That makes sense.
That's because he had eight donuts.
I was going to say he took like an eight-pound shite in the bathroom.
It sounds like Bone.
I'm not saying that that sounds like Bone.
That is YouTube.
I am saying D-Bone went missing for 15 minutes yesterday,
like an hour before show starts.
And he's a very talented graphic designer.
He is.
And it's like, hey, there's some things coming together here at this exact time.
Where the hell is Bone?
I look around.
He got to the point where we're like, did D-Bone quit?
I thought he left.
Yeah, checks to see if his car was in the lot still.
Comes back.
Skipping obviously feels a little lighter.
Yeah, way lighter.
It's like, all right, bro.
I know what just happened.
Nonetheless, he operated so quickly.
Turn around afterwards.
Oh, yeah?
He knew everything.
Oh, I just missed like 30 minutes.
And then later I go, hey, where were you earlier?
You weren't missing for like 15 minutes.
Me?
I was sitting on a chair.
I didn't know.
D-Bone, we were all looking for you. Come on a chair. I didn't know I was going to do that.
D-Bone, we're all looking for you.
Come on, dude.
D-Bone's a weapon, dude.
The stag bowl.
You know that's the national championship for D3?
Yes.
I don't know.
I found out yesterday he was wearing a backpack walking in front of me,
and it was like stag bowl merch.
Those rings.
Yeah, that's where the rings came from.
What a beast.
D3 offensive lineman.
You love football.
Love it.
You love football. D it. You love football.
D3. Yeah.
Team USA member.
Represented this country.
$4,750. Yeah. A little price of $4,700.50.
D-Bone, I would have sponsored
you if I would have known at the time.
I don't know. Maybe you can go play now.
Probably. We need him.
For the U-2018?
You think he can still kick step?
Definitely kick step.
Yesterday after.
Before the 15-minute miss and maybe not after,
I think he's getting to a spot like Joe Thomas.
I think he's kicking that thing back and skipping.
He was judging the Bears' offensive line big time on Sunday.
This guy might be a football genius, too.
Last night he put his first bet in.
Live bet.
Terry McLaurin during the final drive.
$190 pays out $8,000 for him.
Congrats, D-Bone.
Congrats, D-Bone.
D-Bone had a great day yesterday.
What a play.
Wow.
D-Bone had a great day yesterday.
He's $190 for $8,000 on a live bet.
What a play.
What a play that was by Terry McLaurin.
Yeah, I mean, but that play by D-Bone.
Huge. I need eight people was by Terry McLaurin. Yeah, I mean, but that play by Debo. Huge. I need AP.
I can read the game.
But to be clear also, like, incredible bet by Debo.
Yeah.
And I worry with this being one of his first bets of this happening,
you know, maybe we're going to chase the dragon a little bit.
Sure.
But if he gets the dragon every time, maybe that's the case.
Which is what everybody thinks.
But nonetheless, maybe he's the one that's able to do it.
Sports books have been winning still or no?
Yeah.
I saw a couple billion numbers thrown around by how much people have maybe won.
The sports books.
The sports books?
Yeah.
I'd be surprised.
I thought it was a bubble.
I thought it was more than that.
Yeah, well, they weren't going to make money.
Gamble a bubble, yeah.
They had a good week of getting this.
Because guess what?
I mean, there's more and more.
Each week, each year, there's just going to be more and more new gamblers.
But, I mean, there's more and more.
Each week, each year, there's just going to be more and more new gamblers.
And unlike D-Bone, who did win his first bet,
a lot of times the new gamblers aren't great gamblers.
So the sports folks are probably just loving all the new people.
Okay, and that is the second worst start in the last 20 years, says Ben Fox.
Yes.
About the public bets, which is at least 51% of the bets against the books 17, 30, and 1.
And remember, it's only been legal for a few years, so them going back 20 years,
the people that were setting those lines, obviously, is a hilarious thing to think about.
But yes, public's losing, but that can all change this week,
especially with our big-ass brains that are only going to get bigger.
Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to look at week three and see what's some good D and what's some bad D with everything DBs.
Darius Butler.
Yes.
D-Box.
D-Box.
Get it, baby.
Let's get it.
Let's get it.
Let's get right into it right down here in the Lod House.
Whoa.
Now, Caleb threw for a bunch of yards, but we turned the ball over.
Did a great job there.
Jalen Jones had a great afternoon.
Two interceptions.
This is his second interception.
Cover three, so you're in three deep.
You're responsible for the deep third of the field.
Now you have two receivers running vertical,
and you have to be responsible for both of them.
So great vision on the quarterback outside in.
You'll see a post route and then a corner route.
He's going to peel off of that deep route, get his eyes back.
Talked about tips and overthrows.
DeMar talked about it as well.
Made an excellent, great athletic play along the side. Getting both feet in to get that interception. His first interception about it as well. Made an excellent, great athletic play along the sideline, getting both feet
in to get that interception. His first
interception was great as well. Caleb came
to the flat late left side. Almost
could have been a pick six. Picked him along the
sideline, but great job by 40. Jalen
Jones here getting his second interception of the afternoon.
Great ball
ability. Ball awareness,
ball skills. Everything like that
for him to pull that out of the sky.
But then for him to be able to flip his hips, cut on a thumb, it's almost like each week we're
seeing that those combine drills for safety seemingly and for DBs, they translate very much.
Hip fluidity and obviously being comfortable. When you're in zone coverage, we talk about it
over and over again, your eyes are everything, breaking on intention, seeing the ball,
feeling the route.
Now, this is kind of a zone coverage.
When you're outside with a single high safety, you can highlight the deep safety right on the Titans logo.
That's a single high safety.
So the quarterback knows right now, Will Levis knows, these cornerbacks on the outside are one-on-one coverage.
So, yeah, it's three deep, but it's really man when you're outside there by yourself.
You got to have some big balls, some big nuts to sit on a route like this.
Jair Alexander's vision on the quarterback anticipates a quick route,
which a lot of veteran cornerbacks do when you're empty.
This is pretty much spacing, a common route concept around the NFL.
Everybody goes around five-yard hook, curl, quick curl, whatever you want to call it.
Jair Alexander with a wide split from DeAndre Hopkins. So a lot of people on you know TV or people watching would say oh this is a lazy route
this was this was that just a wide split veteran corner reading the split reading the quarterback
breaking on the ball making a great play on the ball once again ball aware in his ball skills and
then taking it to the house can uh Jair sit on this because he's probably I don't want to say
doesn't not threatened by speed?
Yes.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
If that's Xavier Worthy or Tyreek Hill, he's probably not sitting on this route.
But once again, if you rewind it to the beginning, with them being on the near hash, this is a really wide split.
This is a max split.
So that's one of the first things that cornerbacks, especially veteran cornerbacks, look at.
Even up top, that's another wide split.
So, you know, that's a pretty far throw.
So DeAndre Hopkins, nine times out of ten,
is not running an out-breaking route.
It's either going to be a runoff
or something that's breaking inside a curl, a slant, a dig.
So, veteran cornerback, been around a long time.
This is a great, great play from Jair.
Not necessarily a terrible throw from Will Levis.
He's definitely going to have some terrible plays.
But it's just, you know, a cornerback being all over it from the beginning.
Do they know that this is how the offense
is being run too?
First and ten here.
You get tendencies for sure. Once again, when you
have a quick game, when you only have five linemen in there
blocking against their four, a lot
of times it's going to be quick routes.
First and ten, you want to get a drive starter. You want to
get something positive on the first play.
And Jairo Alexander said on it, made a great play.
Xavier McKinney had another interception in this one.
Didn't make the cut because it was just an overthrow,
but just him doing his job.
You know, as a deep safety, you get back to kind of like DeMar pick.
You get back there, tips and overthrows.
You got to have them.
A great play from Jair.
Let's go to the Honey Badger.
Honey Badger, once again, they lost, but this is his fourth game in a row creating a turnover.
Really?
The old savvy vent.
Now, this is red, too.
You can call it quarters, whatever it is.
If you pause it right here, once again, concepts.
So when you've been around the league for a long time, just like quarterbacks,
you talk to Aaron, you talk to veteran quarterbacks,
they'll look at a defense, they'll look at safeties and say, okay,
it can be one, two, maybe three different coverages.
When you are down here, you know you're getting read to, man, blitzes,
same type of coverages.
Honey Badger's seen this route a thousand times.
Saquon is the off guy.
He's going to run an option route.
And then AJ, you know what's coming behind the option route.
Nine times out of ten with this split, it's going to be a dig from Devontae Smith.
Not threatened by the deep route at all.
You're sitting in the middle of the end zone.
Great break.
Beat him to the spot.
And once again, great ball awareness and ball skills to pick it off
and take away a touchdown.
Then you know Honey Badger.
When he gets the ball in his hands, he turns into an offensive player
and tries to get six.
Goddard.
Dallas Goddard.
Almost punched it out right there, too.
Yeah, so this just anticipates the third down
so this is
this is essentially
you know
three point interception
because they don't get
if this is a PBU
they kick
maybe they kick the field goal
probably
it's Philly
maybe they kick the field goal
but you take points
off the board
closed game
obviously ended up losing
so you said
Saquon comes up here
and has an option route
option route
either in or out.
And then that means that Devontae is going to be behind him.
Yep.
It's usually option six.
What we call it.
Stick six.
Whatever you want to call it.
High, low.
And it's a zone.
Typically, you want to pull that hook defender, number 20, Pete Warner.
You want to pull him out of there.
And then you want that receiver to kind of flatten it along the goal line.
And as a DB, you don't want to get – you don't want to back, you don't want to be too soft into the end zone.
So you see both safeties sitting kind of, you can tell they're well coached.
They're both sitting at pretty much the same spot, anticipating those routes.
Because when you get down in the red area, a lot of routes are going to be along the goal line or along the back line.
So once you see that, you break it, you anticipate it.
You know you have the corner outside of you if he was to run a seven route or flag route.
So you just say, you've been around a long time.
So that play is, you know, made pre-snap.
And then you guys got to finish it.
Four straight games on the turnoff.
Four straight games.
That's big time.
Vintage.
That is vintage.
Vintage!
Yep, that's big time.
Honey, Badger.
Michael Cole.
And Blake Cashman.
Once again, this Minnesota Vikings defense seems to be on here every week.
And once again, just like last time, a great, great cover to rep, cover to drop.
So you'll see, you want to keep your eyes on the middle.
Middle linebacker.
Great read.
So if you run it back to the beginning, pre-snap, he's going to look at where is the passing strength of the formation.
So right now it's to his right. It is the passing strength of the formation so right now
it's to his right it's the running backs over there you also have speed up there with two
receivers so that's where he's going to open up and we've seen a bunch of cover two reps you're
responsible for the deep vertical anybody runs deep vertical you better have a good linebacker
that can run with them enough to force the quarterback to alter his throw either that's
putting more air on the throw or in this it's throwing it away from that middle dropper
and throwing it to the safety.
So you'll see it better from the back copy as these routes get downfield,
why C.J. Stroud had to adjust his throw.
We know C.J. Stroud doesn't throw interceptions.
He threw two against his Brian Flores defense.
Once again, third and seven on the money down.
So keep your eyes on 51 Cashman, his drop, his vision, understanding about concepts.
Once again, AJ, you got this, AJ.
No, I don't got it.
I mean, this is beautiful.
I mean, it's what Erlacher used to do for so long in Chicago.
He would just take that kind of like patient shuffle, shuffle, shuffle,
and then watch him flip his hips here with everything.
Yep.
Talk about awareness.
Yeah.
And running back one more time, Pat, just look at his eyes,
like all the information he's taking in pre-snap.
Like if you go all the way back as far as you can,
because remember that motion from the wide copy, the motion from the receiver.
So he's taking in all that information.
Okay, you got one formation, pre-snap,
and then after the motion that's going to be the final formation.
So he's looking at them.
Okay, he's coming in. That's where he is.
That's where my threat is. Vision on the
quarterback. Vision here. Looking there.
Boom. Good dive,
though. Great dive. Yeah, just in case.
Just in case. If he threw it on
target, he would have picked it off. Exactly.
Exactly. So your job is that under, as that
hook runner, you've got to run with him. You've got to
carry him to the end zone, but you want to make him
put either more air on it to create
an overthrow, or you just make an errant
throw like this. Nico Collins is trying to adjust
obviously. CJ thought Nico was sitting?
He was trying to throw him away from
Cashman. So he's just trying to make this
throw away from Cashman, because that's tough. Nico,
he's not thinking to make that adjustment. Stop it.
Oh yeah. He's getting it going. Yeah.
Great job. That's
why. That's zone defense.
You get the spots.
You have great vision on your quarterback.
You trust the guys around you to do their job so you can be in the position to do your job.
Ladies and gentlemen.
And then the man of the hour.
You know Jamar Hamler.
Hey, he was great on the show.
He was.
Yeah, he was awesome.
He was very good.
Yeah.
But we all, you know, he talked about keeping the main thing the main thing, going out and playing.
You mentioned it.
Nobody's handing out starting jobs.
It's not, you know, charity cases in the NFL when it comes to who I'm putting out there
as my top 11.
So for him to earn that spot back, be playing his best football,
and being back on Monday night football, and you can look at this and say,
hey, this is an absolute horseshit throw from Trevor Lawrence, which it is.
It is, for sure.
The guy's open.
You overthrow it.
And as that deep safety is your job, once again,
have vision on the quarterback and take advantage when they overthrow that ball.
You know, Chuck used to always say, catch the ones they throw to you.
He did in just an all-time moment.
Obviously had to make the everything DB clip.
Hey, whenever you go to the ball, good things happen.
That's right.
You can see that line he was
talking about there when he said,
I should have stayed straight. Yeah, and he said,
I read quarterback's eyes. I knew where he was going.
Ball comes to me, and then, yeah, he said his
return. I should have stayed straight, and if you go
to where he first intercepts the ball,
there's legit a line. There's
a caravan of Buffalo Bills about to
turn right there. Yep.
One, two, three, four. We're talking big, big thing.
Oh, and coaches always, you know, at least when I was coming up,
coaches will always tell you when you get a pick as a DB, near sideline.
You think about near sideline.
The other defenders, you block the intended receiver
and you block the quarterback because, obviously,
those are typically the best athletes that have the best chance to tackle you.
Might have got caught there by one.
Might have got caught by these two guys.
For sure.
Because there's only one lead block here.
But there is a lot of Buffalo Bills players.
And the guy right behind him, yeah.
Usually it's that near sideline because your guys,
especially in zone coverage, they're running to the ball.
So once they see it picked off, they turn and hunt bodies.
And then offensively, you're also coach.
The offensive lineman, I know you've heard it a lot, Pat,
like run to the ball, you know, even when it's thrown downfield,
like continue to run to the ball just in case a fumble happens
or a tip ball or interception like that.
So great moment for DeMar Hamlin.
Hey, congrats, DeMar.
Thanks, DeMar.
It's a beautiful thing.
Good for sports.
Good for sports.
And then we got to do one bad.
One bad.
One bad here, AJ.
I don't like it.
One bad.
I don't like it. Just one. Just one. Just one here, AJ. I don't like it. One bad. I don't like it.
Just one.
Just one.
Just one.
Just one.
I don't like it.
Oh, no.
Especially because it's a block.
Oh, no.
We didn't need to do this, man.
Come on, brother.
Our Finns, brother.
I'm sorry, Gubs.
I'm sorry.
This is the one I had to put on there.
And this is teaching.
It's teaching tape for all the other young DBs around the league.
You know, it's a lot of speed out there. Once again, near hash.
Now, unlike the split from DeAndre Hopkins that we saw, this is this is kind of a normal split or maybe even a cut split because he's right on the top of the numbers on the paint.
So as this safety, this is a tendency. So just like you saw Honey Badger in the red area.
Hey, I see something break down from number two
I'm anticipating a dig route from number one. These are built route concepts
So what do you have as an offense a dig and go and you'll see it from DK Metcalf
That's obviously want to be so positive right here
So once again, just like the Saquon and Devontae Smith route the number two receiver. He runs his little option route
So you are anticipating the dig route behind it.
Good offense.
You got to have a play in the counter.
If you hesitate, eyes in the backfield,
and that is not a race you're winning with DK Metcalf.
Great ball from Gino.
And you mentioned earlier, he's picking up speed as he's going.
That's a terrible, and I've been in that position,
terrible feeling as a DB.
My coach used to say, you're going to be the last one, you know,
to see it when those eyes are in the backfield.
Boom, eyes in the backfield at the quarterback, good pump, good protection.
Great sell by the receiver.
You got to sell it.
And then, you know, you've got to finish the players in offense.
Jeez, always.
DK Metcalf is a grown ass man.
Yeah.
Dallas Goddard won 20.19.
I think he won like 20.2 something.
Something like that.
A lot of speed out there.
A lot of speed.
Dallas' teammates call him Slota.
Big Jordan.
Mayada.
Mayada was saying, unhook the trailer.
Unhook the trailer.
Unhook the trailer as Dallas Carter was running.
And they called him Slow Motherfucker.
And he said, I'm tired, but I'm happy.
I promise.
The offense mic'd up. They put that out i promise the offense mic'd up they put that out
that's beautiful i don't know who put that out i love that and dallas probably laughing his ass off
that entire time 20 miles an hour pretty damn good uh everything db good d bad great work i feel like
we got smarter hey listen when you got your eyes on quarterback you know i can help but i can also
get shell i can happen all right uh you want to a, we don't have any more basketballs.
Nah.
Oh,
you're doing a giveaway show.
Two for two.
If I weren't here,
I would have thought that was a gimmick.
I thought Foxy was cutting it.
That's like Harlem Globe.
Yeah.
This guy.
I mean,
they're knocking down shots,
Foxy.
Yeah,
they are.
They're knocking down shots.
And to see Connor do that.
I don't feel bad now.
You know, they earned it. Yeah, you're right. They did. Now that one much cleaner into the hoop. Yeah, both of. They're knocking down shots. And to see Connor do that, I don't feel bad now. You know, they earned it.
Yeah, you're right.
Now, that one much cleaner into the hoop.
Yeah, both of them.
That was a flick.
That wasn't a shot.
That's your moonshot.
Yeah, exactly.
That's your moonshot.
I'll tell you what.
If you build a place that has a basketball court in it, people will use it.
Oh, yeah.
People will use it.
I mean, that's just probably a rule that people should understand going forward.
Or maybe a par three in the backyard. People use it. People use it. People will use it. That's just probably a rule that people should understand going forward. Or maybe a par 3
in the backyard. People use it.
People use it. Golf sim, not as much
I'm saying because the tech, the amount of shit.
It takes two holes.
It freezes. You've got to wait an hour and 45
minutes. Well, some people use it.
AJ uses it. Oh, you're talking about here.
There are some that have
the patience to use it.
Every time I try to use it, it freezes.
I'm like, I'm done.
It's a different level, too.
It's like anything.
If you have to go upstairs or downstairs, you're going to use it less than something that's
bam, right here.
Bingo.
Gym and showers.
Yeah, weight room.
Paul Costner.
Always.
Always bump it.
Oh, yeah.
Gumpy's been on the ones and twos since its beginning, and I'll tell you what, he's really
fine in a groove, too.
Really?
He's doing a great job in the morning.
Bump box.
There's only been one day in the last 10 days. Agre box. There's only been one day in the last 10 days
agreed. There's only been one day
in the last 10 days where I've come into the office
and I've heard something that was terrible.
The other nine days, it's like, banger,
banger, banger.
And Gumpy goes, I know I don't need to introduce
new songs to you guys.
He does get variety.
Just play the hits.
I'm not messing around with anything new.
You're very good in there.
Why is that surprising, AJ?
Well, Gump likes to be the guy that introduces people to new music that people don't like
and there's a reason they have not heard it yet.
Yeah, he's been ahead of some things, though.
But some of them are bangers, too.
Some of them are good.
You're right.
Shabuzy.
He had Shabuzy within the first 20 minutes of that song being released.
Sent to him, texted,
new banger, new banger.
You're going to miss
when you're searching new, you're just going to miss.
That's how it goes, but you've got to get in the weeds, you've got to find something.
And when you're looking for new music,
you tend to,
not Gumpy, I mean in general,
you tend to try and like a song at first
versus realizing it stinks
no matter what well then also there's songs that stink and then grow which is gumpy football gumpy
will say that's he falls victim to that i introduce you guys to songs you don't like them and then all
of a sudden a month later everybody's in that interesting you know what is a banger nicey oh my god oh yeah yeah that is off if i could give any
thing to hext i'd say the what needs to be like a half a beat seemingly later i'm gonna correct
john gruden it's not john yeah come on it's his bloodline john gruden correct him too in the video
oh that's the only person I've seen do it.
Yeah, it's his son, Hex.
Oh, oh.
Oh, oh.
And he was doing it how I think we all do it. Yeah.
Great content.
You got to be better at music to be able to time it up.
We're not as good as you, Hex.
That's what we're learning.
Of course.
But that is a banger.
It is.
Oh, oh.
That sound.
That's his son's name, Hex?
Yeah.
Hex Gruden.
I believe it's Mike.
H-E-X?
I don't know. It's a banger, though. I don't know how many other songs. I think it's his son's name? Hicks? Yeah. Hicks Gruden. I believe it's Mike. H-E-X? I don't know.
It's a banger, though.
I don't know how many other songs.
I think it's a stage name.
John Gruden's throwing 1,000 miles an hour on the paint, by the way.
Yes, he is.
On social media.
He is throwing absolute heat.
Yeah.
Which we knew.
Good ball coach.
I want to get back into football, he said.
I just love football.
What are we doing?
He will be.
I was watching film at 4 a.m. whenever I was fired, coach.
Okay, can I just please get back into football?
I'm sorry about my private emails I sent out.
I apologize.
I'm fucking sorry.
Nobody else was emailing anything.
I just love football.
I'm sorry.
That's seemingly what John Gruden is saying.
Yep.
And I'm watching his videos, and it's like, this dude is breaking down.
He's all the way back.
Every aspect.
So good in the booth.
So, he was, Monday Night Football, he was.
Absolutely lovely.
He'll probably coach the Cowboys next year.
Jerry Jones making that play.
Or the Jags.
Can he sue?
I mean, is he currently in a lawsuit with the NFL?
I don't know.
But if you make videos, Jerry's like, coach football.
Oh, yeah.
Because Mike McCarthy.
I remember Tom Pellicero did that entire song and dance about Mike McCarthy running a team
meeting in his basement every single day since the day he was let go from the Green Bay Packers.
He had other coaches living in his house doing it
every single day. They might not be coaching
but they are.
Every day.
Turns out that was not real.
They set up a projector in the
basement.
Drinking beers in there.
We watch film.
Good call. We watch film.
Maybe that is how it works.
Maybe Gruden understands that that's what happened with McCarthy
and he ends up going down to Dallas.
Why is everybody thinking that Mike McCarthy is going to get fired?
I don't know.
I don't like it.
Why is everybody just automatically saying that?
Because everybody wanted to.
Overreaction.
Everybody wanted to last year.
Yeah, if they don't go 12-5, it's worse than last year.
Yeah, but Dak Prescott signs that massive deal with a question mark
of who's going to be leading the team.
Maybe, I guess.
I guess maybe.
Was Aaron quoting him earlier?
Stats are for losers, as I read a stat from a stat guy.
Sorry, Hembo.
Hembo, we don't believe that.
And I think your stat's at exactly the point he would go on to make.
So there's some stats I think that are good out there.
Without a doubt.
Speaking of stats, Jey Uso is now a champion as a solo.
Congratulations, Jay.
Congratulations.
I was eating all night for you, pal.
I was eating all night long.
Now, it's Ron Breaker, obviously, who we are a big fan of.
That dog has been a great Intercontinental champion.
But the Yeet celebration last night was glorious to watch.
Some tears, obviously.
Without a doubt.
Everybody talks about this guy being a tag team legend,
tag team legend with the Usos.
He built up a phenomenal, phenomenal run as an individual.
And then the Yeet thing took over the actual entire world.
Oh, yeah.
And then they wonder, what's next then they wonder what's next for Jay
What's next for Jay? Are they waiting around for something to happen to Jay?
Well, no, they make Jay Erickson then I'll champion because he beats brawn breaker fair and square. That's right. Congrats Jay
Proud of you Jay. Yeah, Jay's awesome. The man Jay Uso is awesome
That's why I'll stand up on a table anytime. Hell yeah, that song comes on and almost have a heart attack.
Mm-hm.
Cuz I'm eating out my goddamn wounds.
Mm-hm. Cuz Jey Uso deserves it.
Happy for him.
I got emotional this morning.
Hard not to.
I saw a kid, WWE put out a great tweet, kid getting emotional.
Had the Uso cut, one, two, three.
Great, great content.
Hey. I feel them.
They love them, baby.
Mm-hm baby That's the
That's the Eat Nation right there
Yeah it is
Kaboli cried
When I saw him
How could you not
What's going to happen
With Braun Breaker
It'll be bad
I think he's taking down
Cody Rhodes
He might have his eyes
Set on something
A little different
Than the Intercontinental title
You know you think so
You think hey
Did the Intercontinental title Got beat by a great man J, hey, did the Intercontinental title, got beat by a great
man, Jay Uso. Exactly.
But what's next for the
dog? A little heavier, perhaps.
Yeah. Oh, you think a big weight one?
Maybe. Oh,
really? Ron Breaker,
the dog going after a heavyweight championship.
He might. Terror Twins, still at the top?
Yeah.
Who else is?
All right.
Guys.
What?
What's going on with Judgment Day?
Have you been paying attention to Judgment Day at all?
Dude, I've been freaking locked in.
Mommy, that head butt.
Oh.
Jeez.
Well, Dom and Liv have just been rubbing everybody's faces.
I know.
It's gross.
Smooching.
Yeah, it's definitely gross.
I miss the WWE.
I miss my head butt. Tone.ching. Yeah, it's definitely gross. I miss the WWE. I miss Monday Night Live.
Tone.
Tone.
This guy.
Keep it in your pants, Tone.
Jeez Louise.
I miss the WWE.
I do.
I miss all the people over there, too.
I miss the entertainment.
I miss the shows.
I miss the vibes in those arenas.
Michael Cole is so happy right now, what's going on with his teams.
Michael Cole is living large with the Mets and the Jets.
The Mets are winning?
I guess, yeah.
He'll send a text every once in a while.
Mets just won.
It's like, okay.
Wow.
They're in a wild card spot right now.
Jason's in a wild card.
How are the Yankees?
Well, let's see.
They already locked up their playoff berth.
And if they beat the Orioles tonight, they clinch the division.
And they have the best record in the American League.
So I think the Yankees are doing just fine.
Wow.
I think they're doing just fine.
How about the Phillies, though?
That's my team, Dallas Garters.
Yeah, they clinched the first division title since, I think, 2011, I want to say.
Wow.
14 years.
How about the Pittsburgh Pirates?
I know Paul Skeen's got 167 strikeouts.
Yeah, Skeen's was phenomenal phenomenal obviously, but their bullpen stinks
and their...
I thought everybody made playoffs in baseball.
No, no, no, no.
The least amount.
Basically half.
All the shitty teams don't make it.
I thought they all got into that one game thing.
Remember they dropped that one game thing out of nowhere?
Alright, 172 games. Comes down to a Thursday
night where this one team will take
on this one team. If you win, you're team, and if you win, you're in.
And if you lose, you're out.
They changed that.
They don't do that anymore? That was the best part of it.
Three games, though.
I assume a lot of people felt the same way I did.
What would we play all those games for
if it's just going to come down to one night?
Yeah, I think so. Good teams who just have a bad night,
and it's like, oh, our fucking season's over now,
and this team that fucking sucks who just played good for one night, we're not doing that.
So Bob Manfred had to go back to the drawing board
and figure some things out.
And he did.
He did.
So now it's a three-game series to play in?
Best of three.
And how many teams are in the playoffs?
How many teams exist in the league?
There are, what, 30 teams in the MLB?
And how many teams make the playoffs?
14.
You said at least a mile. You kept saying that very confidently
over there. Me? Yeah.
Because there's only... 12 teams make the playoffs.
Yeah, there we go. College football.
Tigers
are still hot. What?
Tigers team in baseball.
The Detroit Tigers?
They had a.2%
chance to make the playoffs on August 11th,
and now they're all the way in that spot.
That's why we love baseball.
Exactly.
That's why I love baseball, don't we?
Exactly.
That's why we love sports.
You can see Shohei in the playoffs.
Oh, yeah.
He's still six for six that one night.
Is that still happening?
Yeah.
I mean, he's still great.
It's night of all time.
There's your postseason picture right there.
LA is a one seed.
New York's a one seed. See? You can just
buy championships over here. I like that.
I like that. I like that you guys do that
in baseball. Whoever spends the most
amount of money is going to win.
How come Pittsburgh... Well, not always, because the Mets
spent the most amount of money, and you can see they're
fucking hanging on for dear life over there.
Michael Cole's going to have a heart attack if you keep saying that.
You think the Mets have a chance of going to run or no?
It's going to be a tough series with the Pods.
The Padres are a stingy bunch.
They don't spend money there, right?
No, no, no.
They spend a lot of money.
Okay.
Anybody in here doesn't spend a bunch of money?
D-backs do not spend a lot of money.
Cleveland?
Brewers do not spend a lot of money.
Cleveland does not spend a lot. Detroit doesn't spend a lot. Kansas City doesn't spend a lot of money brewers do not spend a lot of money cleveland does not detroit doesn't spend kansas city doesn't spend a lot okay i didn't know this
about baseball i didn't know so the parks could potentially in theory potentially be a good team
for sure i mean a lot of these teams like let's say like 10 years ago sucked and like were really
bad for several years so they had a lot of high draft picks, and then now a lot of these teams, their farm teams, were very, very good.
And now these young guys are good and they're playing.
So they haven't went through free agency and just paid a shitload of money.
That's one way to do it.
When does this all happen here?
When does the playoffs start?
The Yankees have, I believe, six games left.
Oh, jeez.
So October 1.
There you go, October 1.
Okay, that's not bad.
For six games until then.
Can we?
Baseball's awesome.
We're going to play every fucking day.
Okay?
We're going to play every day.
For 11 months straight.
Oh, really?
Two weeks off.
Yeah.
How long is it?
Ty's getting mad at me.
Ty's defending baseball. November, December, January, February, March. Five months off. Yeah. How long is it? Ty's getting mad at me. Ty's defending baseball. November,
December, January, February, March. Five months
off.
Seven and five.
Seven months on
the road? That's a long time. Look at these hockey
guys. They play all...
They get two weeks off and it's like, hey, guess
what? The boys got a fucking report back from
morning skate.
Gold Knights were playing last night.
Utah scored their first ever goal
in franchise history. Congrats to Ronnie Smith
and the Utah Hockey Cup.
That's good. It goes in.
Kind of.
Baseball's happening.
Hockey's happening.
Basketball's starting up.
Three weeks.
And the NFL's starting to cook.
College football's already got roads.
Yeah, football is going.
President's Cup this weekend in golf.
Okay.
Live championships.
It's a good one.
What's that?
Live championships.
John Rom was wrapped up in doubt.
John Rom won the individual.
A lot of eyes were on that.
And Cam Smith's team won the team.
I believe Ripper.
F1 is still going on on too, of course.
Nice.
Wait all year to watch football.
That's what I'm saying.
I don't want to hear about the fucking live team titles.
Yeah, Cam Smith.
Sorry.
What was his name?
The Unholy Rippers?
Yeah.
The Rippers.
That team name fucking sucks.
They won championship games.
Pick a new one.
The Rippers?
Yeah.
Who was the captain of that one?
Tom Smith. Uncle Jesse? Yeah a new one. The Rippers? Yeah. Who was the captain of that one? Uncle Jesse.
That's my Rippers.
What a callback.
Did you watch Full House?
Yeah. Okay.
I didn't know you didn't watch Mighty Ducks, so.
Full House, come on.
Danny, Uncle Jesse.
How'd Bob Saget die? What happened to him?
Bob Saget?
Saget?
Yeah.
He was going to talk.
Come on.
Come on.
Be a friend.
Tell a friend something nice.
It might change their life.
Okay.
Rest in peace.
All these.
Seems like we're in a wild time.
Hey, we're going to sing together.
Hell yeah.
Team on me.
Geez, Tom.
Really good day out of you.
Fastball.
Honestly, Tom.
Might be one of your best. Yeah. Yep. Proud of you, Tom. Hi, baby. Make a weekend for you coming up too, Tom, really good day out of you. Honestly, Tom, might be one of your best.
Proud of you, Tom.
Big weekend for you coming up too, Tom.
Thank you.
Big weekend.
Big weekend.
Steelers coming in a lot, House.
Good luck.
All right.
Tomorrow's a big one.
JJ Watts on.
We got Universal Balls saying there's no injuries happening.
Huge.
This is good news.
Great.
All right, we're going to sing together.
Team on me, team on three.
One, two, three, team.
Goodbye.
