Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to our humble abode, the Thunderdome, on this wide Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024. This program starts now. Football! Has a lot of news happening around it right now with one of our best players, who is a legend for one particular organization who happens to be one of the most historic franchises in the history of all of sports. Then he makes a big-time move to another organization, you know, gets a big-time bag, a new home with a quarterback that he knows very
Starting point is 00:00:32 well and an offensive coordinator and everybody that kind of wants him over there and they pay him big deal. Then the quarterback's gone, everything's gone, brand new operation. He says, I want to get the hell out of here, allegedly. And then now the Las Vegas Raiders have said, yeah, you can come and get Devontae Adams,
Starting point is 00:00:48 even though this conversation was happening all offseason. It was shut down as of yesterday. Now, Devontae Adams is currently on the trade block. There's a lot of teams excited about the potential of adding some greatness to your wide receiver core. And there are some teams that are just mathematically out of the equation. There is some money that's going to be owed to Devontae Adams over the next couple years.
Starting point is 00:01:10 Now, 2025, 2026, non-guaranteed. So what does that mean? Well, it means that the Raiders are still probably going to get a cap hit out of this thing, but also it means a new contract is going to have to come alongside of this particular trade. $13.5 million is what's due right now. And then, like every game check, it goes down throughout the weeks. So if they were to wait for the deadline, which is
Starting point is 00:01:29 November 5th, it would be $8.5 million owed to Devontae Adams. Nonetheless, the next two years non-guaranteed. So this contract is basically done after these $13.5 million. You would assume with how this type of situation normally goes with the NFL, a new contract would have to be negotiated, which is like $30 million is what the going rate is for number one wide receiver. Now, Devontae already got a bag. It went how it went with the Raiders. Is he looking to break the bank yet again in his prime? 31 years old, still one of the top guys of all time, has the most amount of touchdowns since he joined the Raiders in the entire NFL at 22 or something like that. Is he going to want to break the bank again? Probably
Starting point is 00:02:07 going to have to get paid. So who will have $30 million to spend over the next couple years? Who will be able to add another number one wide receiver? A lot of people saying New York Jets can. And he'd want to play with Aaron Rodgers, wouldn't he? Him and Aaron made magic. Aaron on Aaron Rodgers Tuesdays for numerous years
Starting point is 00:02:24 whenever he was teammates, would say, yeah, that touchdown to Devontae wasn't called, and we literally just looked at each other, and we understood what was happening. Yeah, eight years ago, we saw the same exact coverage, didn't we? And what did we do then? Well, instead of running a low stop, we ran a slow go, and it was a touchdown.
Starting point is 00:02:41 Him and Aaron speak the same football language. They did for a long time. We watched it. Aaron won multiple MVPs. and it was a touchdown. Him and Aaron speak the same football language. They did for a long time. We watched it. Aaron won multiple MVPs. Devontae Adams became the number one wide receiver conversation in everybody's conversation.
Starting point is 00:02:52 He's still that guy is what everybody is saying around Devontae. And if he and Aaron are able to cook that magic in New York City, in New York City, boy, that would be
Starting point is 00:03:01 a hell of a story to tell. But don't leave out the New Orleans Saints. Coach Williams, who's a wide receiver coach down there, is actually his mentor, he has said, and his personal wide receiver coach. And also, his college roommate, Derek Carr, is the quarterback in a resurgence year for a Saints offense that is explosive. Now, those are the teams, allegedly, that Devontae has expressed interest in.
Starting point is 00:03:20 Those are two teams that the Raiders have allegedly, not just them, other teams as well, are open to trading Devontae Adams too. We shall see how it unfolds. Everybody assumes the Kansas City Chiefs won't be in play because that's a division rival. I think that's probably a smart assumption. Tom Telesco, he formerly
Starting point is 00:03:37 of the Chargers operation, division, I don't think that'll ever happen, but Devontae moving is electrifying. Huge. For everybody but Raiders fans. And I think behind the scenes, allegedly, this had been brewing for a while because Devontae wanted a new contract. He's seen everybody else's contracts
Starting point is 00:03:54 going bananas, and he goes, wait a minute, who's in the top three conversation? Oh, me. Okay. Everybody else is getting paid. How come I'm not getting paid? Just like Jamar Chase was feeling the exact same way. He had two years left on his contract. In this particular setup of a contract, there's only one year left. Devontae wanted money, allegedly, quietly behind closed doors.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Then it kind of boiled into this season. Now it is what it is with Antonio Pierce, the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, not even saying his name yesterday whenever he was addressing medical reports of him and Max Crosby. He goes, this is exactly how it goes. What are the plans with Max and Devontae at practice this week and is Michael Mayer back in the building? With Max and 17, it all depends on where they're at health-wise.
Starting point is 00:04:32 As of right now, status quo. And Mike is still dealing with personal. Okay. So didn't give away anything. Didn't say his name, though. He's had a little bit of a heat. We shall see. I'm excited to learn where he goes, how he goes,
Starting point is 00:04:43 and what teams are inevitably interested. There's a nine-year NFL vet here, host of Everything DB, Good D, Bad D, Darius J. Butler. Devontae still Devontae. He has the ability to get open. He can literally, he can shake a tree if he had to. He is a phenomenal athlete,
Starting point is 00:04:59 and everybody tries to learn from him. He still has it, 31 years old? Still got it. I said it yesterday a couple times. I think he's still in the prime of his career. The thing about being in the prime of your career at wide receiver, hopefully you have a quarterback that's in the prime of their career as well and then a play caller that can also dial it up. You just need so many things to go right for you as a wide receiver
Starting point is 00:05:17 so I can understand the frustration from his part. Obviously something going on behind the scenes there with him and AP. Not saying his name. That was big, wasn't it? Yeah, that was big. That was big. Obviously after liking the Instagram posts as well. Aaron came on here a couple times and talked about how they were watching receivers.
Starting point is 00:05:36 So that's how he saw a bunch of Jaden Daniels for him. They watched some of the top receivers, neighbors, Brian Thomas Jr. So him being available. Obviously the team and organization was looking for another big play. Wide receiver Devontae hitting the mark. Another team that was up there too, the Commanders. You pair him up with Scary Terry with a young quarterback, Jake Daniels, on a rookie quarterback deal. So you would expect him to have some money, you know, mobility when it comes to the salary cap.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I would love to see that with young Jake Daniels, what he's doing in D.C. Cliff Kingsbury would love to see it as well. One half of the hammer, done. Cowboys, AP, Tony's here. The Pittsburgh Steelers, we just mentioned three teams, okay? And there's been two teams that have come out publicly that Devontae Adams is interested in. Sure. And are interested in him, in the Saints, in the Jets.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Pittsburgh Steelers, though, big-time conversation with Brandon Ayuk, allegedly, this offseason. Even up to, like, a $30 million offer. So they already have that amount of money potentially ready to spend on the wide receiver position, but then people are also saying the Baltimore Ravens. AP Tone is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Could you imagine Devontae Adams going to Baltimore Ravens when the Steelers are probably very interested as well? What were my words
Starting point is 00:06:35 earlier today when we were talking about if he went to the Ravens? Do you remember? You said vomit, I think? Yeah, I would throw up. I would puke everywhere if he went to the Ravens. But no, you would expect the Steelers to be in it. They were in it with Brandon Ayuk to the very end. Obviously, until the 11th hour, Jake Lazor reported that the Steelers were up for Ayuk, almost a Steeler. So you would assume Devontae Adams would go there.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Also, just a fun little tidbit, George Pickens said when he was coming out of the draft that he'd modeled his game after Devontae Adams. That's a guy that he looks up to in the NFL. That'd be fun. And what happened yesterday? I think Devontae followed George Pick's the guy that he looks up to in the NFL. That'd be fun. And what happened yesterday? I think Devontae followed George Pettis on Instagram. Yep. Also, Cordero Patterson tweeted, hey, Devontae needs to be a Steeler.
Starting point is 00:07:14 So, yeah, we're right back at it. But I just have a request. Any of the reporters that reported that Iyuk was going to be a Steeler, you're not allowed to report on this. We don't need to go through all that. I remember that whole Kennywood roller coaster ride that was so much fun and engaging, just like every roller coaster in the history of Kennywood. For us, outside of the Steelers fan base, I mean, it was, he's on the team.
Starting point is 00:07:37 There was like legitimate, credible journalism. Yeah. Journalism happening. Hey, deal's done. Brandon Iuke's a Pittsburgh Steeler. And you just so, we got two quarterbacks. We got Brandon Ayuk. We got this defense.
Starting point is 00:07:51 I mean, from where you guys were to where you were then, and then all of a sudden Ayuk, nah, he's actually – he's going to stay with the Niners, take a bunch of money that was offered to him a couple months ago, and then he's going to wear the wrong shorts and kick those off. He's still not happy. But he's still doing his thing. So if you guys – if he ends up going to the Ravens,
Starting point is 00:08:06 what if it's because of selection? What if it's like Devontae Adams was like, I want to go to the Baltimore Ravens, who he's already spoke glowingly of Lamar Jackson. And then he says, I don't want to go to the Pittsburgh Steelers. All of a sudden, are you guys the New England Patriots? Let's go to the talk show table at Boston Connor. And made a play 12 years in the NFL, Super Bowl champion,
Starting point is 00:08:24 Jackie Moon, player coach, A the NFL. Super Bowl champion. Jackie Moon. Player coach. A.Q. Shipley here. A.Q. looks like Longshoreman. He is not that. Look at the goatee. A little bit darker. A little bit darker.
Starting point is 00:08:35 That's the situation. That's the situation. We'll continue to be. This thing's getting gray real quick, though. Yeah, well, his is... I don't know if his... I think his is full gray, right? His is white.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Yeah, he's white. He's been through some stuff. We've learned a lot about him. Yeah, a lot., I don't know if his is. I think his is full gray, right? Yeah, his is white. Yeah, he's white. He's been through some stuff. We've learned a lot about him. Yeah, a lot. The internet has learned a lot about him. Hey, let's get the deal done. Hey, come on.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Let's get the deal done. Let's get the deal done. Let's go. There he is. It's full white there. Every white with a goatee. You look like AQ. Yeah, I get that too.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Every fuck boy looking white. I get that. You look, it's, I mean. It's inevitable. I mean, that guy's head, too. The shape of his... The good shape.
Starting point is 00:09:08 If we gave you that gold chain and the glasses... I need a gold chain. Anyways, we learned a lot about this guy yesterday. Too much. Had no idea he existed, and I saw one video where he goes, the cars, they're not coming. A Lumba, not coming. Week two.
Starting point is 00:09:22 The steel, you think that's coming? Huh? It's not coming. Christmas? Everything gone. Boom. My boys. My guys. a lumba not coming week two the steel you think that's coming huh it's not coming christmas everything gone boom my boys my guys holy and then the rest of the world's like he's right but this ain't cool yeah it's like no i i know i think we're all wondering how the hell this has become a reality let's sort it out hey smart people figure it out i'm on it sounds like don't Smart people.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Figure it out. I'm on it. Sounds like dull. Anybody but AQ Shipley. I mentioned there beforehand, though, like if he's picking where he's going and he does pick the Ravens over the Steelers, obviously there will be some heartbreak from Steelers fans. But you guys are 3-1. Everything's good.
Starting point is 00:09:56 We'll talk to J.J. Watt in the next hour. Excited to get his take on the Pittsburgh Steelers' first loss. First loss to the Indianapolis Colts. That's tough stuff. Watt has is too much. You guys are going to need that, though, for where you're headed, I think. You know, young quarterback Justin Fields had to experience an environment like that. Balled out.
Starting point is 00:10:12 A lot of holding. What's that? What was that? Was that Escalade used to say? Or was it? No holding. No holding. Yeah, you're talking about the end one.
Starting point is 00:10:21 Yeah, the MC. Yeah, I understand what you're saying. We executed a plan. Yeah, we're damn right. Shane Sikens said, yeah, MC. Yeah, I understand what you're saying. We executed a plan. Yeah, damn right. Shane Steichen said, yeah, I got a plan for T.J. Watt. We're going to hug him. We're going to show him so much love that they're not going to be able to take it. And that's what the boys did.
Starting point is 00:10:32 And we got a big-time win. We'll talk about that. But Devontae Adams, New England Patriots aren't in this at all, huh? Because you guys stink? Is that what we're assuming? Well, I mean, that's what we're assuming. But I don't know if we would just say that they aren't in it at all. I would hope they make a call because they do have the cap space.
Starting point is 00:10:44 They have cap space in the future too so if he wants another deal absolutely my whole thing is if he doesn't have a no trade clause and it's not as if telesco and pierce don't have allegiance to him like why wouldn't this be a best offer type of situation i'm not saying the patriots are offering the best offer because there are other teams out there that could easily offer more if they you know really do believe they can go get a Super Bowl, which by all accounts this year the Patriots can't. But you would assume that they at least make a call, at least say something, hey, look, we know we're averaging
Starting point is 00:11:15 120 pass yards a game, but why don't you come here and get 80 of those sons of bitches. So I mentioned Devontae picking and choosing. I guess you're 100% right, especially with how it's going. They're not necessarily I mean, that goes back to like what New England would do, guys. Yeah, guys would come in allegedly and publicly display that they're
Starting point is 00:11:34 not happy. And then I was at Cleveland and I was Cleveland right now. It's kind of the same as what it was when I don't know. But they had good times, though. They had a year. Last year, Flack.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Baker won the playoff. Oh, and Joey Flack. Remember what Joe Flack did? He did. And then they said, hey, you want another deal? Look elsewhere, bitch. But anyways, coaches and teams have done that before. And I guess GMs and teams have done that before where they go to, like, worst spot.
Starting point is 00:12:00 For Devontae Adams, A.Q. Shipley, you've been a coach. You've been a player. How do the rest of the league view? Let's say, because there was a couple weeks ago Antonio Pierce said there were some people making some business decisions. And he said on the tape, so maybe we'll have to look into the plays. But was he talking business
Starting point is 00:12:15 decision behind scenes too? If like Devontae didn't want to be a Raider and he potentially, I have a ham... Like, there's no way that's the case that's happening. But is there a chance that teams are definitely calling and asking that question? Like, hey, where did this go wrong? Or are we in a modern era right now where people think if we get him
Starting point is 00:12:32 in our building, he'll be better than it and we don't give a shit? Like, it's not going to happen in our building like it happened in other people's. Yeah, you nailed it with the second comment. Everybody thinks that whenever they get them in their building, they'll be completely different. And most of the time, that's the case, especially if it's a winning franchise. When you look at this, he
Starting point is 00:12:47 comes out with a hamstring on Thursday. It's like, we stink. I'll wait a couple weeks. There's a chance it could happen. We're not saying Pate did that. This could happen. And I've seen it happen. I've seen it happen in buildings, especially, you know, you're 3-6 or 3-5. It's like,
Starting point is 00:13:03 you know those 50-50 injuries where you normally go? Nah, we're shutting it down. We're shutting it down. And you can only be who you can afford to be. Not everybody can do that. Obviously, bottom half of the roster, I got a 30-70, and I'm taking the 30 to play so that I can get on the field because I can't be worth – I'll lose my job if I get injured
Starting point is 00:13:21 and I can't play in there. Not saying Devontae did that, but these are questions that teams will certainly have whenever they're calling the Raiders. And I think back in the day that mattered more. I think now it doesn't matter. Like it not working here in Oakland and him saying 17 and all this shit happening this quickly into this season
Starting point is 00:13:36 when seemingly going into the year this guy's one of our pillars. We're going to build around this guy. This is the Raiders culture that we want. That was basically the conversation that was happening, and now it's like we're going opposite directions. I think back in the day, teams would have cared more about that thing. The word distraction, I think,
Starting point is 00:13:52 back in the day, meant a lot more around the league. Now it's like, can I get a ball? Yeah, we can get them. It'll be better with us. And I think that's not a bad mentality. I think that's a good thing, not a bad thing, but it's like like I wonder how many people will wonder why and how this all went wrong.
Starting point is 00:14:09 You'll definitely wonder, especially when you're trying to read the tea leaves, read the writing on the wall. But the thing about Devontae, he's already built up his credibility of who he is, who he is as a pro. We've seen him get paid, who he is with money. So it's not like, at least for me and everything that we've seen once again, when Aaron was on yesterday talking about Aaron Jones, Devontae was one of the guys that he mentioned.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Jordy was one of the guys that he mentioned. And from outside looking at how this guy plays, you can tell almost, you know, how his teammates react to him, how much he loves the game. When they were sucking last year when Jimmy G was throwing them, you know, in the big hits and he was pissed off, he was still coming out there showing up and giving his best effort. And the other part of it is you know if you come to a championship culture, if you come to a team that's built to contend or compete this year,
Starting point is 00:14:52 you expect to get the best out of Devontae. So I don't think there will be any concerns at that point with him. Now if this is a rookie or a guy maybe two, three years in, you may have some questions and concerns, but I think Devontae is pretty much solid on who he is around the league. I said earlier he could shake a tree. I think like a Redwood would actually go with him, think that he's going one way.
Starting point is 00:15:11 He can shake in the phone booth. His cuts are just so deliberate. And so I don't – he's not like – Tyreek Carroll runs a 4-2, right? So that is – he might be the fastest guy in the world. That is a weapon in a wide receiver to get open. Yeah. That is a way to get open. This dude is not the fastest guy in the world. That is a weapon in a wide receiver to get open. That is a way to get open. This dude is not the fastest human on earth.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Very fast, but not the fastest human on earth and can get open on anybody. And his catch radius is stupid. That is why I feel like he understands he's the number one wide receiver in the league. And I think he wants to get back to proving it every week. I think he wants to get back to a team where he can. And, like, I need a quarterback.
Starting point is 00:15:50 Got to get with a quarterback. Because all the things you mentioned, his suddenness, you know, his ability to separate, his ability to catch, show late hands, read coverages and adjust the coverages, you know, mid route. That's the tough one. When receivers are out there thinking, a lot of people will say, hey, this young guy, he was a 4-3 guy, he's 6-3, all these different things.
Starting point is 00:16:07 But you've got to be able to get open consistently. Obviously, you've got to be able to make contested catches. You've got to be able to read coverages. Your route will completely change if it's single high and it rotates to split safety post-coverage. And if a quarterback can't trust you to know exactly where you need to be, they're not going to throw you the ball. So all those things he still has at an elite level right now with Devontae Adams.
Starting point is 00:16:26 Well, and that's why it's like outside looking in. Sure, you could view it as like, oh, this guy's a problem. Maybe he is. I had no idea. No clue. But maybe he is being a distraction. But also, he went to Vegas for a couple reasons. And it's been three years he's played with
Starting point is 00:16:42 five quarterbacks. He's had two head coaches. There has to be some sort of idea that, hey, everywhere this guy's gone, everyone's praised him for how hard of a worker he is. He's been called the pillar of the franchises he's been a part of. Absolutely, distraction is one way to look at this, but also at a certain point, the guy is towards the end of his career. He hasn't been able to play in a playoff game in a very long time. He had to compete for a Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:17:09 It's like you can understand someone who – what did he say last year? Maybe it was this year. He's not going for stats. He's competing against greatness or whatever the sentiment was that he had when the whole Derek Carr thing was going down. So, like, if I'm any team, that's either – I mean, I guess any team in general. Terrible, you know, bottom of the league to one of these teams at the top. Well, I mean –
Starting point is 00:17:31 Yeah, Colts, for instance, not a terrible team, not down to the bottom. But why not have Devontae Adams come to the Indianapolis Colts? That'd be fun. That'd be fun. Anthony Richardson, allegedly day-to-day. That's good news. Is it? Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:42 Because I thought in the middle of the game that was potential real season. Take your time. Yeah, take your time. If it's a bruised hip, bone bruises. 6-8. What's that? He should take 6-8. I mean, I wouldn't say that much time, but what if you're healthy?
Starting point is 00:17:59 It feels like you're saying something else. I wouldn't be out there playing, but the stat you threw out there, and it surprised me. You said Devontae Adams leads the league in touchdowns? 22, yeah. Since going to the Raiders. Since he went to the Raiders. That's incredible.
Starting point is 00:18:13 That's mind-blowing. With the quarterbacks that he was with. Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, he had like three or four or something like that, I think, in a couple games. That's crazy. He went bananas a few times. I was looking for the tweet.
Starting point is 00:18:22 Killed the Colts. Yeah, all those highlights were against the Colts. I was watching the highlights. I saw Lucasville Stadium in the back. I'm like, I can't even see the players yet. I can only see the ball. What are we doing here? And then, lo and behold, late hands grab. He saw it. Yeah, he's so good. Good luck out there, Devontae. We hope you find what you're looking for. Come to New England. Come to Indianapolis. Dee Blutch has seven teams he'd like to see you on. I want to see him with a good team.
Starting point is 00:18:46 I like good players competing late in their career. I think Lions would be so awesome. Because they don't have like a Devontae type with the Lions, and that team would be so fun to watch. They just scored 42 points. Add Devontae into that. Well, and the offense coordinator, Ben, is incredibly creative. He'll figure out ways to get him the ball.
Starting point is 00:19:03 Yeah. It just wouldn't be a Brad Holmes move, though. They haven't made any moves like that since starting there. That's why they've never had a ball. But I would love it. Don't get me wrong. I would absolutely love it. That truck that they were building on Monday Night Football,
Starting point is 00:19:14 those draft picks, you put some nice 22s on there, that's Devontae, baby. They're right. I didn't even think about that. Legit. Not very – that run was interesting. I had an Escalade on 24s uh those are big it couldn't turn really that was tough they drive terrible it was tough to turn it did a lot of straight roads
Starting point is 00:19:32 in indy they did yeah bingo i drove from indianapolis back to pittsburgh in that escalate on 24s got pulled over in ohio obviously of. But that thing was just the whole time. It was like I was riding a truck. Bingo. It was like riding. But a truck kind of has a little lean with a rock with it. You know, a little bounce. Sure.
Starting point is 00:19:52 That was just like we're rolling on like, you know, those old wooden wheels they used to have? Yeah, yeah. That's kind of rocks. You had the low profile. Yeah. Yeah. That was suck.
Starting point is 00:20:01 It was suck. But I mean, it looked. It looked so cool. Yeah, it looks. Blacked out completely. Yeah, I got pulled over for a tent. The cop had pulled me over for a tent. Whenever I had that car, I actually came up and said,
Starting point is 00:20:10 what's up to me at Lucasville Stadium this past weekend? You remember me? No. I pulled you over for that tent on that Escalade you had with those 24s. Yep. He was like, I gave you a warning, though. I like what you're doing for the city or something like that. Handshake.
Starting point is 00:20:24 See you later. It was very nice of him. Thanks, man. But that tent was very dark. I mean, that car was the a warning, though. I like what you're doing for the city or something like that. Handshake. See you later. It was very nice of him. Thanks, man. But that tent was very dark. I mean, that car was the coolest of all time. Very inefficient. But to your point, if he doesn't have the player option of where the hell he's going to go, they're going to take best offer.
Starting point is 00:20:35 Yeah. And then that contract's going to have to be done or the next team doesn't care, I guess. I guess the Raiders will not care if the next team has the deal done or not. The Raiders are just looking for whatever they'll give them. Was that second round pick, was that a legit report? I think multiple people had that. I think Schefter had it. I think NFL Network folks had it. I think
Starting point is 00:20:51 the athletic people, I think everybody kind of reporting the same thing. It was all very interestingly timed, the news breakage and what came out, what teams, it was like looking for a trade and then it was like going to need a second to get this thing done for a trade. And then it was like, going to need a second to get this thing done and something else.
Starting point is 00:21:06 And then it was like, Devontae's interested in, or teams are reaching out to teams now that might need a veteran wide receiver. Devontae's interested in Saints and Jets. Like these all came in like 25, 30 minute increments. It was like very interesting how it kind of all laid out. Hopefully it all works out for all parties.
Starting point is 00:21:23 Hell yeah. Antonio Pierce said, listen, you won't be a part of Get Out. I'm not going to say his name. 1-7. Yeah, it doesn't feel like they're going to be like, okay, wherever Devontae. At least Antonio Pierce, just, you know, reading the tea leaves, be like, all right, whatever you want to go. Tom Telesco, Las Vegas Raiders football, how can I help you?
Starting point is 00:21:39 And you guys trained Devontae? 17? Yeah. Yeah, we're training 17. 15 plus 2? Devontae Adams? Yeah. Yeah, we're trading 17. 15 plus 2? Devontae Adams? 17, yeah. We're trading 17.
Starting point is 00:21:50 You guys won't even say his name? Nope. Okay, so you guys really want to get rid of him. Here's the deal. All right, I'll give you a fourth rounder. Why do these guys go for such? Like, Devontae Adams for a second rounder seems weird to me. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:22:00 We talked about this earlier. Randy won for, what, a fourth or a third? Yeah. Yep, crazy. From Oakland to New England, yeah. Which I forget. At the time, that was like a Philly accent. At the time when that took place, fourth.
Starting point is 00:22:12 I was so baffled. I'm like, Randy Moss is worth a fourth-round pick? And then people will trade, like, second-rounders for rookies and, like, first-rounders that have never played. It's like, what am I missing here? I think in this particular case, they're probably assuming nobody's going to give up a one and the new contract. So they're kind of setting the tone at like, hey, it's not going to take a one is potentially what they're trying to get out there. I'm not 100% sure, but the contract on top of it is probably something that's scaring some people.
Starting point is 00:22:40 Yeah, it's got to be the contract. It's Snead, too, right? Snead was the number one guy this offseason, and he got traded to Tennessee after getting the tag put on him by KC for like a second and a fourth as well. So if it's not the money, then I have no idea. It's crazy. I finally found the tweet that we looked at yesterday.
Starting point is 00:22:57 Devontae Adams, 23, receiving touchdowns. It's tied with CeeDee Lamb for the most touchdown catches in the NFL since he joined the Raiders in 2022. That's with quarterbacks Derek Carr, Jared Siddham, Jimmy Garoppolo, Aiden O'Connell, Gardner Minshew, and Jacoby Myers. Guy finds paint. Guy finds the paint. He's going to do that for Indianapolis Colts, and you guys watch. Nah, I think he wants to come to the Patriots.
Starting point is 00:23:17 I actually saw something where he was like, man, there's no place cooler than New England. He loves mail. He does love mail. That was AI. You know, he praised Bill Belichick on the shop. Or, excuse me, Robert Kraft on the shop. He was like, you know, it means something more that the New England Patriots have a black head coach. I really love that you did that.
Starting point is 00:23:34 For sure. Actually said that. Was Robert Kraft on the shop with him? Maybe. Yes, he was there on the shop with him. The executive produced that one. No, he was on the shop with him. He was in a chair.
Starting point is 00:23:43 In a chair on the shop with him. So that means when they weren't filming, they were probably talking. Hey, you should come on over to New England. The Raiders are a shitty organization. Is that tampering? Seems like. No. Yeah, it sounds like crap.
Starting point is 00:23:53 He wasn't recruiting. They were just chopping it up. Bob loves doing this. Oh, you're saying we're just two guests on shop. Yeah, this wasn't owner Robert Kraft. This was Bobby Kraft. This is Bobbo. Well, I saw it last year when the Raiders did play
Starting point is 00:24:05 the Steelers at Tomlin and Devontae and a sweet dap up. Was that tampering? Colts haven't done anything. I saw Kyler Murray had a conversation with him in the offseason. Kyler Murray had a conversation with him in the offseason. He's going to the desert. Tampering. That is tampering. He's a player. He can't say that. Connor and I can say stuff.
Starting point is 00:24:22 No, you're tampering. You're an AP voter. I can say anything. I'm an idiot. No, you're a voter. Yeah, I can say anything. I'm an idiot. No, you can't because you just gave away that there was tampering happening on the set of the shop. No, no, that wasn't. That was a conversation. I would like to reiterate my point. Colts have done nothing.
Starting point is 00:24:33 We just let him score a bunch of touchdowns. So we didn't tamper at all. But that kind of maybe that is their tampering. No, we wrote out the right carpet. Sorry about it. Here's all the touchdowns you need for a season incentive. If Joe Flacco starts this next game, that's tampered. Yeah, plus that's an old red carpet because you guys got coconut husks now.
Starting point is 00:24:49 Oh, you imagine them routes in their coconut husks. Speaking of, oh, my God. Imagine the DBs on the coconut husk. They never felt the coconut husk. Can you taste it when you play? You can smell it. Okay. You can smell it right there.
Starting point is 00:25:03 You know what it smells like? A dream because you're in heaven, pal. That's a lot of husks. True. But anyways, it is a slippy track, I do believe. So if Devontae was able to make that his home, which he probably will, the weaponization of the coconut husk that he will have on DBs across the NFL will be terrorizing.
Starting point is 00:25:20 Was the coconut husk there for the combine? Because is Xavier Worthy's 40- times even the fastest ever if it was coconut husk versus rubber? That is a good question. I don't know when they put in the coconut husk. I do not know because I mean, we do have to start looking into what were Pebbles Diner? Why did they go with coconut?
Starting point is 00:25:38 How did that even? So dumb. I appreciate the fact that somebody had a shit ton of coconuts and was sick of having all the outside, like all the, what do we need to do with this? We've got to recycle this somehow. What are we going to do with it? Got to be better than rubber pellets, right?
Starting point is 00:25:51 And then they just saw him up and say to the Colts, hey, a hundred million bucks, we'll put all these coconut husks in there. And they're like, deal, save the world. Jim must have had like some coconut water. He was like, what the hell is in this thing? Could you imagine the speed you could have? Jim was actually uh he was he was on his atv yeah and he jim yeah jim was on his atv i think this would happen maybe a year or two ago two years ago he was on it and he he went on like a a coconut road oh you know how they have like a brick road gravel yeah he went on a coconut road
Starting point is 00:26:20 Oh. You know how they have like a brick road? Like gravel, yeah, yeah. He went on a coconut road and hit that thing like sonic. He got faster. He was like, whoa, whoa, whoa. What is this? And that's what he thought to himself. He said, I need the boys running on this thing.
Starting point is 00:26:34 As if this is doing, you know, flying. I need on there. And that's potentially how it came together. That makes sense. That's a legend. We do not know if that's 100% true or not. I mean, that's what I would figure would happen. Or maybe he was just nuking Pina Coladas, and he was like,
Starting point is 00:26:47 God, I love coconuts. Let's make this a field. There's a chance. Okay, each week this season, we're going to check in with a Super Bowl champion whenever he joins us about what he thinks the big talking points are about the NFL the past weekend. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for Talking Points with A.Q. Shipley. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:27:04 A.Q., what are the talking points out of last weekend, week four of the NFL season? Yeah, this week we're going to start with the Detroit Lions. I know you guys talked a lot about them yesterday, but Jared Goff was unbelievable. He was 18 of 18, right? Pretty good. Didn't let a single pass touch the ground. There's a couple throws that I pulled off. Check this out.
Starting point is 00:27:20 If Foxy can stop this as they're running this little crossing route, right there. look at this. He's trying to avoid Laporta in this route concept as the crosser. He's not even looking at the ball. Ball's already out. Jared Goff drops this thing in an absolute bucket and now puts it right on Jamison Williams as he goes 70 yards to the house. Perfect timing.
Starting point is 00:27:40 Just wave him in. Come on. Come on. Wave him in. Pulling the trigger. Jared Goff pulling the trigger on that. There's a couple quarterback clips of starter maybe not throwing the ball and on time and then backup coming in throwing the ball on time.
Starting point is 00:27:53 And it just being two very different outcomes. It's a whole different world. That is what offenses are. Jared Goff and Ben Johnson speak the same language out there. Another throw you have from Jared Goff? Yeah, another one. So we got a deep dig to Patrick a little bit later. You'll see four DBs.
Starting point is 00:28:05 Watch him fit this thing in. Again, on time, no patting the ball. Ball comes out in between four DBs. Perfect pass down the middle. It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable. When he is untouched and unbothered in the pocket, he's as good as they come. And the biggest thing is when they lean on that run game, it sets up the pass game.
Starting point is 00:28:23 Jared Goff, Ben Johnson, and Jameer Gibbs and Montgomery. Filthy. Obviously a great tandem in the backfield. Montgomery is tough to tackle. An absolute beast. And then when you want a little speed, you put Gibbs in, and then you want an explosive, you got Jamo. They literally have it all.
Starting point is 00:28:38 When they are on time like that, to AQ's point, I think they're unstoppable. The Gibbs looked awesome in the camera celebration, too. Yeah, he's great. They have some good sellies. The whole team does. Yeah, good moxie up there. It starts with MCDC. What's that?
Starting point is 00:28:49 It starts with MCDC. Yeah, MCDC. Obviously, we've seen him at Applebee's. He can really do whatever, whenever, however, wherever. And that's the thing. I think whenever your team takes on the identity of the head coach, head coach said we're going to be tough. Seemingly, we're going to be confident,
Starting point is 00:29:03 and we're just going to play ball aggressive. And it's like, everybody they have on that team seems to buy in or fit perfectly. And that's why the graphic about all the draft picks, it's like, they had a vision, they had a plan, they've stuck to it, and it has worked. And those wide outs, they love to block. That changes
Starting point is 00:29:20 everything in the run game, so that's great too. What's the second talking point we need to be chit-chatting about, A. Cush? Let's stay in the NFC North. Sam Darnold, listen, he's got I mean, he's been unbelievable this year, but listen, he is comfortable. He's in the same system now for a second year in a row. Comes from San Fran as the backup with Kyle Shanahan,
Starting point is 00:29:36 right? Kevin O'Connell has history with Kyle Shanahan. You can tell he's comfortable now. There's a reason he was the third pick in the draft, right? He is so talented and now he's putting it to use. He's comfortable, ball out on time on the stutter, go to Addison. Perfect ball drops into bucket. He's just been unbelievable, and you can tell how comfortable he is.
Starting point is 00:29:53 This is the biggest thing when you look at him, Baker Mayfield. Guys that are comfortable in the situation, their talent seems to shine through. This ball was unreal. Back shoulder pass to Jefferson. Get off of me. Let's go go keep it moving okay so uh i saw a clip from the sideline josh mccown was talking to sam darnold and he talked
Starting point is 00:30:12 about how on the previous touchdown justin jefferson was either crack back or blocking downfield big for addison maybe i think scored before this he justin jefferson was blocking really like full effort blocking Justin Jefferson downfield. And then he gets rewarded with a touchdown on the next time. Josh McCown was like, football gods or football karma is very real. It will always bless you or something like that. The big thing, too, they've got a great offensive line, right? Like, that's the biggest thing.
Starting point is 00:30:36 Like, when you're a third overall pick, you're going to a team that's not very good, right? So you're stuck behind a bad offensive line, typically a bad offense, typically a bad team. These people get thrown into a situation that's bad. Now they get put in a good situation with a good offense line with talent around them and their talent shot. Callous, mature, everything like that.
Starting point is 00:30:51 What's the last talking point you think for the weekend? We got a little rhyme here. What's that? AQ's snap foos. Oh! See what we did there? Oh, like snafu, Tone. Tone, it's like snafu.
Starting point is 00:31:04 It is, but it's snafu. That's clever. You see what we did there? That's pretty cleverfu, Tone. Tone, it's like snafu. It is, but it's snafu. That's clever. You see what we did there? That's pretty clever. But it's a snafu. Get it. With cadences. Yeah, because snap stuff.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Snapping, yeah. That's right. This weekend, big conversation. Cadence is the biggest conversation of the week. Let's start with Mr. Zach Frazier. Obviously, we talked about this. Justin Fields took the blame. As you see the left guard tap right there, he's looking back.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Everybody's on the wrong page. When you're in an away environment, silent cadence is everything, and this is critical situation. You're going to see three plays here in critical situational football where people aren't on the same page. Regardless of whose fault it is, it looks like that was a double count. Let's go to the Browns game. Same exact thing.
Starting point is 00:31:43 You're going to look. Left guard taps. Quarterback's looking. Ball hits him in the chest. Obviously, go to the Browns game. Same exact thing. You're going to look. Left guard taps. Quarterback's looking. Ball hits him in the chest. Obviously not on the same page. Obviously the offensive line is going to react. So it's like, oh, they weren't on the same page. Here you're going to notice it big time. Let's take a look at number 75, the right guard, as we're looking at it to our left. He's going to look back as the ball snapped. Doesn't even know the ball snapped. He has no clue. That's a snap-fu. Those are a snap-fu.
Starting point is 00:32:06 But here's the deal. Three critical situations, three centers, and fourth down, need-to-have-it situations, and you have miscommunication on the road. All three teams. Has to be better. These are things that are going to get worked out throughout the course of the year. Yeah, and when you talk about Frazier, he's a dog out of West Virginia.
Starting point is 00:32:21 Justin Fields said he was looking at something. He basically took the blame completely on it. I assume there's numerous people in there, which is what the guard afterwards said. It's on all of us. We're all on different pages, which is something early in the season, going to continue to work through.
Starting point is 00:32:33 A lot of us, though. Yeah, exactly. That's what happened. You were blissing that place. Tough environment. He thought he got tapped twice because the place was freaking shaky. It was really quiet, actually.
Starting point is 00:32:41 He's looking. He's seeing linebackers. Whoa, shit, that's probably done bliss. You can see the left guard looking back. Same thing. It was pretty shaky. It was really quiet, actually. He's looking. He's seeing linebackers. Oh, shit, Gus Brown's done blizzles. You can see the left guard looking back. Same thing. Well, left guard and center are both rookies in that situation. Yeah, so it's early.
Starting point is 00:32:52 Rookies in the lighthouse. It's all fourth quarter. Yeah. Yeah, and if you think this doesn't happen to every center, it does. It's happened to me. It's happened to Jason Gill. We've all had snap issues, especially on the road. Play clock's running down. That's what happened in the Seattle game.
Starting point is 00:33:04 Like, you see it, and you look in the corner of the end zone, and you're like, two. It's like, ball has to come. That's the situation, but it's like critical situations. Fourth down, need to have it. All these teams needed plays to either come back or win, and it's just bad timing, bad situation. Okay, so let's think about everything
Starting point is 00:33:20 that goes through the head of the center. Fourth quarter, exhausted, tired. Got to have to give physical contact here every single play. That's kind of how the center. Fourth quarter, exhausted, tired. Got to have to give physical contact here every single play. That's kind of how the job is. You're tired, sore. A lot of shit. Tough to communicate. Try to do it. Then also, got to remember the play. What's play? Might be having to go. Second, that might be ace blocks. Yeah, it's in the run game. Yeah. Might have to ace here. Might have to go up and get to second. Might have to send one, go to another.
Starting point is 00:33:47 Oh, I got to kind of map out where all these people are that I have to do. Oh, yeah, and then also have to remember what we're on. Yeah, let me give you a quick little synopsis, right? You break the huddle. You get to the line. Okay, Mike's 52. Mike's 52. Sort right.
Starting point is 00:34:01 Sort right. You guys are man. Okay, hey, easy, easy. Lefty, lefty, lefty. Back. You got the free safety. You guys are in a sift. Hey, we're going sort left. Oh shit. What's the snap count? Right? Like that's what happened in the setup, right? Or it's, you know, you get a tap on the leg, right? There's been so many times you have to come up with a different language. I
Starting point is 00:34:19 know when I played in Philly back in the day with Michael Vick, he came up with like a, there was a dummy color, right? So, like it might be orange. Orange means nothing. But whatever the first digit was, right? So, if it's 21, the first digit's two, it's on two. So, orange 21. Orange 21. Orange 21.
Starting point is 00:34:35 Orange 31. It's on three. Orange 13. It's on one, right? Like you have to come up with that because there's so many – like the defense alignment – I think I've heard people say balls. Yeah. I think I've heard – Balls 22.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Yeah. Yeah. Single, double, triple, right? Like you've got all these things, right? there's so many like i think i've heard people say balls yeah i think i've heard balls 22 yeah yeah single double triple right like you got all these things right and alpha beta you know what there's so many different things you can use but charlie they all they always pick up on it on defense they pick up on your calls they pick up on your signal so you got to have something field goals um ursae was on three because he had three daughters uh we had i forget we had a couple that were just ridiculous but we did we did hard count on field goals we got people too like i felt very i felt very good about it and even tried to change rules so we couldn't do it was like head can't move forward at all uh have to hands can't move towards line of scrimmage at all all
Starting point is 00:35:22 you can do is just open it so like the suddenness of it all is a big deal. People being able to hold their water, massive deal, though. Like Vinatieri could hold his water. So with the greatest of all time, we can go, ha, ha, ha. Like we can do that, which helps the offensive line, helps Vinatieri, helps everybody, but it takes a lot of people being able to hold their water in a situation in which they are exhausted. And I'm jogging off, just had great water.
Starting point is 00:35:46 I'm having a good time. Feeling good. Hey, Ursa, Ursa, Ursa, hold your water. Yeah, let's not be jumpy up there. That's the other part of the equation. You just said it. You might be on a 14-play drive, right? These guys are tired.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Hold the water is a big deal. Yeah, and that's why the Aaron Rodgers stuff is so fascinating. On the other side, the D lineman, like Robert Mathis, you would hear him talk, hey, we got a cue, we got a guy, we got a guy that's giving it away when it's snapper. When the center looks up, you know at this point on the field goal, when the holder, the punter looks up through that corner, Rodgers blocked one, a big one this week,
Starting point is 00:36:19 didn't end up helping him win the game. But the defenders are always looking for something to give away so they can get that just extra half. And in the fourth quarter at that point, you got a good beat on the cadence. You got a good beat on the quarterback. You got a good beat on their flow. So, I mean, that can be very, very stressful for those guys. That is why, because habit breakers and everything like that
Starting point is 00:36:37 are such a big deal for us. That's why we did it, I assume. Quarterbacks have numerous reasons to do it. Aaron views it as a weapon. It is a high-level weapon. He is the greatest in the history of football. I think it's the most amount of touchdowns with false starts, too many men on the field, all those types of things,
Starting point is 00:36:52 taking advantage of it, which is why it did become kind of a pseudo-convo when Salah's like, we're going to have to dial it back a little bit with the cadences. It's like, hey, the reason why this guy is who he is, one of them is because of the cadences. So whenever Aaron is presented with a question like, hey, her one of them is because of the cadences so whenever aaron is presented with a question like hey her cadences are a part of the problem which is not exactly how silas said it but you know kind of in that whole thing he feels like very attacked in that
Starting point is 00:37:15 moment because it's like hey i work my ass off on these things we work our asses off on these things they've been very good for us for a long time maybe we needed everybody to be like bet like better you know and it's uh i'm happy they kind of got it sorted and figured out cadence is our big conversation though right now huge huge and it's huge i mean there's so many times the tackle used to come back in the huddle and be like yo we gotta stop going on silent one this dude is jumping he's halfway in the back it's got to change we got it it could even be a silent hold right so you do the silent hold for half a second, then get –
Starting point is 00:37:45 because now they're off sides, right? Like, those things are huge. Yeah, there's been a couple offensive linemen who have, before field goal, said, we're not doing any of this shit. All right. Fair. On one, on one. Sounds good.
Starting point is 00:37:59 All right, here we go. I ain't got time to be in my fucking stance down there for that long. I'm tired. Okay. And this guy's about to run me over. The guy anyway. Not doing your whole song and dance. Got it.
Starting point is 00:38:09 Got it. Got it. Got it. All right. You got it. Our guest, I believe, is in the building, which is fantastic news. What an honor this is going to be. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:17 I can feel it. Hold on. Yeah. You can feel it, can't you? Yeah. You can kind of. Can absolutely feel it. I can feel it, can't you? You can kind of- Can absolutely feel it. I can feel it right now.
Starting point is 00:38:27 Ladies and gentlemen, bad blood is this weekend. Royal Rumble pre-sale, which is happening here in Indianapolis, starts on November 15th. And on this day, October 2nd, 2024, we have the undisputed WWE Champion, the American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes!
Starting point is 00:38:49 Yay, Cody! Best meet and explainer award. Royal family. Crowd's here. Hey, Chris. Hey, how are you? How you doing, Jeff? What's up, brother?
Starting point is 00:39:09 How are you? Good to see you. There it is. Whoa! What about me? Did I feel like you were in an arena there? Oh, my gosh. I feel like I'm in the Thunderdome. Oh, the old school one.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Remember back in the, where, Florida down there? A couple of Thunderdome's. Cody, it is an absolute honor to have you here. And I appreciate you acknowledging us. Here, I can move that up if you want. That back one there. Where we go? This right here?
Starting point is 00:39:57 You're doing it all, huh? Well, I hate these things, so. You got to figure out how not to. There it is Thank you sir Anything for our champ Anything for our champ Congratulations on all the success
Starting point is 00:40:13 Since becoming champion And finishing your story Numbers for the WWE, merch, tickets, ratings Deals, everything through the roof Hey, you're a draw kid Way to go It's going to feel very good, legitimately You mentioned numbers deals, everything through the roof. Hey, you're a draw kid. Way to go. Way to go, Cody. It's got to feel very good, legitimately.
Starting point is 00:40:27 Well, you mentioned numbers. Something the top brass shared with me on the way here that I was rather excited about last night was NXT's debut on the CW. And those early numbers are quite incredible for NXT in terms of where it had been to where it is now. I'm excited for those to come out today and everybody to see just how much of a splash they made on their very first night.
Starting point is 00:40:52 Hats off to CM Punk. Triple H was there. And Shawn Michaels and Baldo who run that operation, all those guys are killing it. Yeah, Baldo. WWE's on fire. Baldo. Baldo's a legend.
Starting point is 00:41:02 I consider myself an NXT legend. You know, headlined... Black and gold legend. Premium live event. A couple of them. Had another... It didn't headline... It wasn't main event on that one.
Starting point is 00:41:14 But nonetheless, love NXT. Love the move it's making. Business is on fire. WWE business is on fire. I know we have bad blood this weekend. You've got a lot cooking. You're teaming up with Roman Reigns. Is that accurate? We've been in football season.
Starting point is 00:41:28 You and Roman Reigns are now tag team partners this weekend. Is that right? Well, you guys have been in football season, so I'm sure you saw what just went down with Alabama and Georgia. Did you see that? What a life. You guys get to cover.
Starting point is 00:41:43 I was at a live event, and I went into the ring when Georgia was getting destroyed. And I'm a Georgia guy. That's, you know, Broad Street's the first place I ever used my fake ID. Ho, ho. Ho, ho, ho. That's my life, is the dogs. I went to Georgia football camp as a kid. I took a picture with Ugga, all this.
Starting point is 00:42:02 Which one? Which Ugga was it? It wasn't Ugga 5, because Ugga 5 was the legend who took the bite at the Auburn player. Yeah. I took a picture with Ugga. Which one? Which Ugga was it? It wasn't Ugga 5 because Ugga 5 was the legend who took the bite at the Auburn player. I'm not sure. I didn't know. This is before they started acknowledging the count. K-Faim. K-Faim. Same Ugga.
Starting point is 00:42:15 By the way, Russ is the most underrated Ugga. The one who was the stand-in Ugga for a minute. I don't know if you know this story. So you're this dialed in of a Georgia fan. I love my dogs. Anyways, though, seeing all that. Gosh, you were asking about bad blood and here I am talking about Alabama. No, you went out to the ring.
Starting point is 00:42:32 Georgia was losing. They're completely out of it. You kick somebody's ass. You come back. And I came back and I was there for the 13 seconds or whatever that they were in the lead. And I was explaining to my buddy like this is SEC stress. This is what it's all about, this game. And the first game at this point with an expanded playoff, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:42:50 You know, I think we're going to see it again, I would hope. But you're looking at Alabama. You're looking at Georgia. You're talking about Roman Reigns. You're talking about myself. Walking into Bobby Dodd on that field and just being on that campus, I grew up in Georgia. I know every inch of that state,
Starting point is 00:43:07 but that's one place I don't know very well because that is where smart people went to school. Georgia Tech is what we're talking about here in Roman Reigns. Met at the 50 with some lights and SUVs around the outside of it. And they were saying cinema is what was being said here, but it was great conversation between two absolute icons and legends. And inevitably, we shook their hands. We didn't shake.
Starting point is 00:43:30 Did not. We didn't shake. We agreed. You, being such a wrestling fan yourself, a wrestler yourself, again, legend of the NXT black and gold era. War games. We lost, but undisputed era failed us. You know that there's always this will they coexist thing
Starting point is 00:43:45 when you get the odd couple tag teams. Well, who's going to turn on who, whatever it may be. This was a good way of setting up that's not what this match is about. We've agreed to coexist. But you didn't shake. We did not need to shake, and I wish people could have been on the ground there in Bobby Dodd to see, you know, there's a suspension of disbelief in sports entertainment, but I wish they could have been there the ground there in Bobby Dodd to see, you know, there's a suspension of disbelief in sports entertainment.
Starting point is 00:44:06 But I wish they could have been there to see how real it really is with myself and my tag team partner at Bad Blood. We stood on opposite sides of the field for all of the pre-shoot as they were getting the lights and everything ready. No discussion whatsoever. No awareness of what the other might say to the other. And we just walked across the field, met at the 50, ran it straight through, and hats off to Mr. Heyman, JB, and Rob Fee because they put this thing together in such a cinematic way. It should have got credits.
Starting point is 00:44:35 It was really – yeah, Adam Panucci in the office really came out unique. Yeah, and at the end, you guys were going to coexist to take out the people that we both hate. You hate them, right? Yeah, I'm, you know, I'm... Yeah, I was expecting... You know, I'm OTC. When was the last time I was here?
Starting point is 00:44:54 Everybody was doing the bit. Well, you know, we want to pay our respects, obviously, to the champion for how good of a job you've done. Obviously. We acknowledge that. Yeah, we are acknowledging, but we are OTC. We are OTC fans. And to see you both on the same side is nice, because now we can...
Starting point is 00:45:12 Yeah. You really got that song down, huh? I don't know the lyrics. It's tough. So 99% of the audience doesn't know the lyrics. They just rock out until the one part and which part's that just the whoa oh just the whoa it's uh at the end of the night when i make the rounds and we do like stay after the cameras are down autographs and pictures and stuff i wish they would play any song other than that song because they play it over oh no and over and over to the point where it's just too many
Starting point is 00:45:46 woes it's too it's too many woes and it's a lot of you're gonna OD on the woes at this point too many but uh yeah okay so let's talk about what you're doing after the shows that's old school you know that's like uh I've heard stories about that type of thing the champion and what the pressure of being the champion is and representing the company and the business there's legendary tales of stone cold Steve Austin after the show goes off the air he has beers in the pressure of being the champion is and representing the company and the business. There's legendary tales of Stone Cold Steve Austin after the show goes off the air. He has beers in the middle of the ring with a microphone and puts on a show to the house that came in and helped us put on a wonderful show to the worldwide audience.
Starting point is 00:46:17 And it's only going to be growing with the Netflix thing and everything like that. You have been that guy for the WWE even before you got the championship. Staying afterwards, shaking everybody's hands, hands signing absolutely everything literally for hours and hours and hours after the show and at the beginning of your it says there's more than one wrestling royalty family royal wow right what is wrestling it's more than one royal yeah yeah you get it the whole thing you literally come from you you feel like you're an old school dude? Do you feel like that is the case?
Starting point is 00:46:45 Oh, I feel, I don't know it's really popular to be old school anymore, but I feel very much it's just I have to be old school. I was raised in the business. My dad never smartened me up to anything. I just watched it and half-assed kind of figured out what was going on. And things like you're talking about, Rhea ripley does those things as well uh damian priest uh that there there are also people who like to engage because when the lights go down and the cameras are off uh it's just as important what we do then versus when we're on in the moment and right now you're talking about this
Starting point is 00:47:21 record business that wwe is doing well I've watched it because I grew up in it it goes up and it goes down and it goes up and I'm of the thought that I'd like to I know where I'd like to get with WWE I know WWE is expanding I've heard our marching orders so that stuff we do at the end of the night is it really should be mandatory and and for me it just it feels like it's part of it because it's a way to reach across, connect with people, have that real moment with them, let them know I'm your guy, I'm your girl, whatever. And WWE has a really good thing when it comes to the live events, live TVs,
Starting point is 00:47:55 about just making sure that everybody leaves extremely happy. Prime example, CM Punk really outdid me in the gifts department. He bought pizza for all of Allstate Arena last night. All of Allstate Arena. I can't imagine the pizza bill. Whoa. Jeez. That's good play, Punk.
Starting point is 00:48:12 Mm-hmm. Smart move. That's a baby face. I mean, buying pizza for the entire arena. That's a baby face, and it should challenge everybody else, myself included. I don't know how long. Why don't you start doing that, Buck? The gift-giving imbalance.
Starting point is 00:48:24 I don't know what I'm saying. Pizza Hut. pizza hut boy boy forever you're you're locked in they're definitely coming back no that was a very nice gesture of uh of cm punk to do so he set the bar high yeah and you will live up to it we know that that's what you've been doing your entire time as the champion with the wwe connor has a. So how do you feel about where it is going, kind of like the new school with the Netflix and everything? Obviously, Raw just went back, or they are going back to two hours. They just did their last three-hour show Monday. But what do you think the Netflix is going to kind of change in the WWE,
Starting point is 00:48:57 and how do the other superstars and yourself feel about it? Are you guys excited, or what is kind of the vibe going into the whole Netflix thing? I think the locker room is through the roof morale-wise in terms of going to Netflix. We all have it. We all watch Netflix and love it. But the idea of the streaming era, you know, truthfully, WWE in the past was actually always a little bit ahead of the curve in terms of banking content. At first it was 24-7 on demand.
Starting point is 00:49:22 Then it was the network. And now Peacock is everything. But Netflix is going to be huge for us. When I say expanding and I say where we're going, and I think certain individuals in the locker room, some of the champions, some of the top guys and girls know this as well, we're going up in terms of our public spotlight, I suppose. College football, NFL, those are the biggest things on the planet. They really, really are, right? We're moving up and trying to get in that air.
Starting point is 00:49:51 And if you know anything about what we're doing, we're not far off. And Netflix, I think, is definitely a big part of that. This is a huge deal for Netflix. It's a huge deal for WWE. I'm just excited that we get to kind of ride this new wave. And Raw being two hours again, the content being perhaps tailored a little differently. What you saw with Roman and I in that package,
Starting point is 00:50:13 that might be a direction the industry is going. And being old school, you mentioned being old school, those things used to, not for me. You know, many movies and things of that nature. Years and years and years ago, people can remember this. My dad had produced something for WCW called White Castle of Fear. There's helicopters and Sting went to the mountains to meet Vader. And there was like little people and turkey legs.
Starting point is 00:50:38 And it was just this crazy scene heavily panned by the audience to the point where I just thought maybe that's not ever going to be our world. We're never going to have that. Throw it out. That cinema. And then I saw this and I thought, wow, especially with what Mr. Heyman did with it and Adam Panucci, I thought, wow, like this might be a little bit more about the direction because we didn't play it silly.
Starting point is 00:51:00 It wasn't spooky or anything of that nature. This was straight up two guys who really sincerely feel this way about each other having a conversation. Let's capture it. Anything to tell the story, I think, is good news, especially in the modern era, especially with how many different places you can get content. Some things are meant for social media. Some video ideas, which WWE is ahead of everywhere.
Starting point is 00:51:20 They are very focused on social and on digital. Then on the linear television show, okay, what are some stuff that's tailored for that? And then your shit with Roman works everywhere because you're Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. But it's like the storytelling ability that the WWE has is second to none. That's why I'm so incredibly lucky that I get to work over there. Cannot wait to get back to your world. Cannot wait to get back there. Now, when I was stopping in WWE
Starting point is 00:51:45 in college football and college game day was starting, every house was filled. That's still happening everywhere. Now we're doing more stadium shows. SummerSlam is going to be two nights. Royal Rumble is happening here in Indianapolis.
Starting point is 00:51:56 The presale goes up on November 15th. You can register right now to get on a list to get an email link sent to you whenever presale starts because all the good seats you see in these stadiums, I don't want to say they fill up fast, right now to get on a list to get an email link sent to you whenever pre-sale starts. Because all the good seats you see in these stadiums, I don't want to say they fill up fast,
Starting point is 00:52:10 but there's sections that fill up very fast. Not that there's a bad seat in the house, but if you're looking to get in a good spot, you should register for the pre-sale announcement on November 15th here in Indianapolis. Indianapolis is easy to get to from a lot of places. It's going to be packed out. Great hosting city. Indianapolis should be a place
Starting point is 00:52:25 more people know about, too. Agreed. For the big PLEs, their destinations, WrestleMania's going to be in Las Vegas. And you think about all these markets in the U.S.
Starting point is 00:52:35 Indianapolis, people need to get up to Indianapolis. Good hosting city. It's a good hosting city. Great host. Doors open everywhere for you whenever you're in town for any event.
Starting point is 00:52:43 Royal Rumble will be here. SummerSlam will be here. WrestleMania will be here. Royal Rumble first on February 1st which is the weekend in between the NFC AFC Championship games and the Super Bowl years ago and and this is I don't know if I should share this but I'm gonna share it years ago I oh I like that I was here for the NFL owners meeting there was no reason that I should have been here for this NFL owners meeting I was tagging along with somebody else at the time, and I was there. But all I did was there was a steakhouse here in Indianapolis.
Starting point is 00:53:10 I believe it's called Prime 47. Oh, yeah. You guys know about Prime 47? Oh, yeah. And that shrimp cocktail was worth the trip. That's where I spent the majority of the NFL owners meeting that I should have never been near in any capacity. So Prime 47, great hosting restaurant here in Indianapolis. Pacer Games, it's right next to it, the arena
Starting point is 00:53:27 basically. And also Combine, it's packed out every single time. That's what it was. It was the Combine thing, I believe. That's why we were there. Yeah. Prime 47 is one of these spots where a lot of business gets done. A lot of business gets done. A lot of business gets done. I had this brief moment in my life where I had this link to the NFL, and this was through the
Starting point is 00:53:43 Khan family and the Jags and everything like that. But I have this one story where I knew I've overstepped my NFL time was uh Miami Super Bowl the 100 team yeah uh I Emmett Smith got on the elevator with me and he had his red jacket on they're about to announce it and I'm Emmett Smith I'm it's cool you know hanging out but I had a suit on I felt like I looked apart whatever maybe I looked like I They're about to announce it, and I'm, it's him and Smith. It's cool. Yeah. Hanging out. But I had a suit on. I felt like I looked the part, whatever. Maybe I looked like I owned something or worked in some capacity.
Starting point is 00:54:11 With that tie? I don't know. And he looked at me, and he said, he goes, the bus leaving in 20 minutes? And it's, I didn't want to tell him that. You know, I'm not in this at all. I'm a spectator. So I thought about it for about a good, you know, three seconds that felt like forever, and I just looked at him. I said, yep, yep.
Starting point is 00:54:35 And I was so glad when he got off the elevator. There were other guys in the red coats like, we got 20 minutes. I'm like, oh, thank God. Nailed it. I did not lie to the legendary Emmitt Smith. Look at you putting up a solid, confident front, too, and giving the right answer. It's a beautiful thing.
Starting point is 00:54:49 Cody, we'll be coming up here on a hard out in like two minutes or so. What do people need to know about the American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes tour that's continuing? Obviously, title's not on the line this weekend. Not on the line this weekend, but there is something that happens at Bad Blood, I guess a video package or a vignette that's going to play in the show. I've got to keep it vague, but there are big title implications
Starting point is 00:55:11 for Crown Jewel moving past. Oh! Sorry for being so vague, but a little spoiler there. In addition to that, WrestleMania 41, I am looking to do what I've done three times now and enter the main event, but I think it will be something that perhaps is bigger than anyone anticipated. I wish we had more time.
Starting point is 00:55:32 I wish we had more time. Obviously, the airlines, thanks for messing up everything all the time. Of course. You're trying your best, but you're messing up everything all the time. We don't love it. We have to deal with it because you're in charge. Yeah, my agent sucks too because he's asleep in LA while I'm going through all these travel woes.
Starting point is 00:55:48 The pilot's telling me, text me. Text you? I don't know what I'm supposed to do. Sleepy suit? Come on! Wake up! Wake up, suit! What are we doing out there? Alright, well, we appreciate you stopping by. Congrats on all the success. You're the man. We're all big fans.
Starting point is 00:56:03 Obviously, we're OTC. I mean... Someone in here can't... There's got to be someone non-OTC. Okay, so there's a D-Bone. There's a guy in the back. His name is D-Bone. Big Mark. Here's the worst part about when I said that. I looked over there and everyone turned around. Like, nobody... He's one of your biggest fans.
Starting point is 00:56:19 Oh, that's my guy. Alright. D-Bone! Bone! I love that his name is D-Bone! Bone! Bone! I love that. He's nervous. He's nervous. Here he is. Here's the ace.
Starting point is 00:56:30 D-Bone. Woo! Yes! Looking like Hal Jordan in that jacket. T-Bone! What a moment. Wow. Wow.
Starting point is 00:56:39 Oh, clean down. Very clean down. D-Bone. D-Bone, good guy. Yeah. Wow. D-Bone, anti-Roman Reigns. Just made his life.
Starting point is 00:56:49 So everything you're a bot, he's a bot. So congrats, D-Bone. Guy's got a little zipper burn, if you know what I'm talking about. We'll be back on the other side. Be a friend, tell a friend something nice. Might change their life. At Desjardins, we speak business.

Starting point is 00:58:03 WWE that I haven't seen in a while. Great to see them. I love that company. I love those people. Even old Suit that just walked out there. We've known him for a while. Good guy. He was at a couple companies beforehand that we've crossed paths with.
Starting point is 00:58:15 Always been an incredibly hard worker. Chris Legento made an appearance here in the Thunderdome. Holy shit, what a dream for us. Incredible. Isn't that crazy? Always a pleasure. Wow. His hair just looks even younger, you know, out of
Starting point is 00:58:25 nowhere. It's a phenomenal thing. Congrats, Cody Rhodes. Being awesome. Thank you, Cody. The Toxic Table is here at Boston Corner and AQ Shipley. AQ, good to see you, pal. Great to see you. Hey, big football news happening at all times. Thankful
Starting point is 00:58:42 that you're stopping by every single Wednesday. One half of the hammer. Cowboys AP tone is here. Nine-year NFL vet Darius J. Butler is here. And joining us now is a man who probably has a little bit more inside information on what's taking place around this Raiders wide receiver trade controversy taking place. He's the former Super Bowl winner for the Green Bay Packers. He's the all-time leading tackler for the Green Bay Packers. He's the all-time leading tackler for the Green Bay Packers.
Starting point is 00:59:06 Wow. He knows everybody coming in and going out of that town. Ladies and gentlemen, A.J. Hawk. A.J., what do you know about Devontae? Is he going to the Jets? Is Aaron Rodgers already negotiating this deal? What have you heard since the announcement
Starting point is 00:59:18 was made just yesterday over a series of tweets that Devontae Adams has asked for his trade? The Raiders have reached out to some teams for a trade. Then we find out it's going to take a two in something else. Then we find out he likes the Saints in the Jets. What do you know, A.J. Hock? A man who probably has his ear to the ground in this situation. And by ear to the ground, I mean his fingers to the text in a group text
Starting point is 00:59:39 that's probably taking place right now in his pocket. Yeah, well, I mean, I'm sure you would be, you're not surprised to know that I don't have any really any extra information on this whole situation for you. I absolutely do not. But I do wonder how long it has been going like this. Like, how long has Devontae wanted out, do you think? Yeah, you tell me. I mean, that is literally the question that I'm wondering.
Starting point is 00:59:58 Like, did it all of a sudden hit him? Like, this doesn't just pop up out of nowhere, I feel like. Well, so if you listen to Michael Lombardi of the Lombo line on V-CIN Live, I believe, he basically said, and now remember, his kid was offense coordinator, I think, for the Raiders last year. Yes. Yeah. He basically said, my report's accurate. Everything I've been saying.
Starting point is 01:00:20 He's been looking for a new deal quietly. Devonta Adams was trying to go about this in a very professional manner. He showed up. He did his thing. He played, looking for a new deal quietly. Devonta Adams was trying to go about this in a very professional manner. He showed up. He did his thing. He played, looking for a new deal. They are who they are. Gardner Minshew just threw for 120 yards. It's not going to get better.
Starting point is 01:00:33 It's going to get worse, yada, yada, yada, which is why it came to a head. You would think that there has to be a little bit of history before we get to this point of asking for a trade. Just a few weeks after being kind of told that he's a pillar of the Las Vegas Raiders organization. Him and Max Crosby are who they're looking to build around because this trade chatter, I mean, that's, I mean, shook, waggle, slow down, late hands, fingertip catch, just in that one, let alone all the other plays that take place there. He's so good.
Starting point is 01:01:03 There had to have been something that had this brewing, but there's a lot of teams that want him right now, Adrian. A lot of fan bases that are like, we'll take Devontae Adams. We'll take Devontae Adams. Non-guarantees there for 2025 and 2026 on a contract, which tells us you're going to have to renegotiate a new contract for Devontae Adams if you trade for him. Maybe that'll scare some people out of this conversation.
Starting point is 01:01:24 But other than that, a number two pick for Devontae Adams. if you trade for him, maybe that'll scare some people out of this conversation. But other than that, a number two pick for Devontae Adams, I think I'm going. I think I'm going, A.J. Hawk, if I'm the Indianapolis Colts, for sure. Yeah, I know you guys have been talking about it a little bit, like the second-round pick situation. Is that pretty much confirmed that that's what they're looking for? Multiple people have reported it, so we just assume that means multiple people have been told that
Starting point is 01:01:43 from either the same person within the Las Vegas Raiders organization or different people within the Las Vegas Raiders organization. Nonetheless, we believe that to be true. Now, is that their opening offer, though? Could you get them for a three and maybe a five? You know, if you do like a couple of different picks, are you able to make a play or a player if you're able to move one? Jets, especially like Redick. You wonder if, especially with Crosby being a little banged up already, if the Jets can work something like, hey, why don't you take this problem?
Starting point is 01:02:12 So if the Raiders had Hassan Redick to that D-line, obviously that would be insane, but they would have to be able to get a deal done with him. Yeah, got to pay him. So that would mean it would have to be like a third and Hassan Redick. So the Jets would lose nothing, basically. Third round pick. Okay.
Starting point is 01:02:30 Go run the numbers. In the history of the draft, go run the numbers. Third rounders out there, bro. There certainly is. And we love telling those stories. You know why we tell them? Because third rounder made it. I mean, that is, if you go overall what third rounders are, overall what first rounders are oh this draft
Starting point is 01:02:46 is a whole overall on how many hit it's like i think the fantasy land is that they all do and the reality is they do not know there's a lot more bust than there is make and that's what i get so confused about these veteran prices for draft picks i feel like all of us up here do all of us that have played have been in the locker room, even watching, and for some reason, whatever their, whatever the analytics is, or whatever their book is,
Starting point is 01:03:09 it said, hey, a second rounder, a third rounder, a fourth rounder for this 30-year-old, 31-year-old wide receiver, a running back, whatever it is, it calculates different. Their math is a little bit different
Starting point is 01:03:18 than our math, and what we see is a proven vet, a proven guy who's going to come in the locker room, and I think, you know, change the culture. I know any young wide receiver I have, I would love for them to be around Devontae Adams.
Starting point is 01:03:28 And a young quarterback, I would love for them to be around a guy like Devontae Adams. So our calculations as players, for whatever reason, the front office, I feel like they're operating on a whole different system. Our math is a little different. Their math ain't math to us in the entirety of it all. But if somebody gets Devontae Adams on their team right now, the conversation goes from we're a sputtering offense, which a lot of offenses are this year.
Starting point is 01:03:52 Didn't even think about, like, what if the Vikings try to get – I mean. I want to be fair. That's what I didn't even – Jefferson and Devontae can't be on the same team. And Addison? Yeah, not a lot. Yeah, Addison's a one on most teams. Can they pay him?
Starting point is 01:04:04 Do they have the money to pay him? That's the question. Quarterback is only getting what, 13 or something like that? What kind of deal does he want? That would be a pricey wide receiver room. Yeah, because you just paid Justin Jefferson, but you have rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy and Sam Darnold, who might be his team.
Starting point is 01:04:21 That might be why they don't, because they might have to pay Sam Darnold after this year. Unless they do a, like, we'll be able to pay you this year, this amount of money, but then you're a free agent afterwards. Someone could do that, right? Someone could do that that's trying to win this year. Hey, maybe we're not going to extend it, but we're going all out for this year.
Starting point is 01:04:38 Business can be done. I mean, that is certainly taking place. But there's a lot of fan bases doing exactly what we could do. Hold on. They're paying $30 million. That's some money. Yeah bases doing exactly what we could get them for. Hold on. They're paying $30 million. That's some money. Yeah, we'll pay. I'll pitch in.
Starting point is 01:04:49 There were so many times when I played where I'm like, wait, you mean to tell me we couldn't afford a fifth-round pick for Aqib Tlaib in his prime? Like, what are we doing? I get so confused by it as well. I mean, we traded for Chandler Jones for a second-round pick and a player, and he ended up having 70 sacks over the next three years. I think we talked
Starting point is 01:05:05 about randy moss earlier for a fourth i think i got fined for a tweet about that i got fined for a tweet about it i was like randy moss we're the fourth rounder these days how is that even possible are you questioning the decision made i'm like all right yeah and then to your guys's point like what was the washington trade to move up to get RG3? Three first? Yeah. Yeah, three first, right? That year and then the next two years. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:29 First round pick. And then I think something else. Think about the Ricky Williams deal. Whenever he came out, it was like they gave up four. Yeah, they gave everything. Everything. They gave everything up. And that's strictly because of potential? But the potential is you hope that they become Devontae.
Starting point is 01:05:41 Yeah. That's what's right. But I guess they think the potential is like 10 years, though. They're thinking, hey, Devontae, we don't have 10 years in him. That's, I think, I guess, how they would value that. But that's tough to do. I saw the Pony Express in Pittsburgh say, we're going to give up 30 million plus.
Starting point is 01:05:56 He's 33 years old. Yeah. So he's 31 years old. He's 31. Which I think is a little bit different, especially whenever you get into those 30s. Every year matters. 31's not that big of a deal, though, wide receiver.
Starting point is 01:06:05 Especially not a guy like Devontae, where you talked about Tyreek Hill, who is still the fastest receiver in the league. But it's not like Devontae's, the way he gets open is based off just pure speed or explosiveness. He's kind of like in the vein of like a Reggie Wayne. They're like savvy. And into their 30s, they're still going to be great. Larry Fitzgerald, he wasn't a blazer, but he knew how to use his body, knew how to read coverages, had a great catch radius, was smart.
Starting point is 01:06:29 So all these different things you can play deep into, you know, your 30s. So 31, I still think he's at the height of his career right now. And if we're talking about like one-year rentals, like the one team that's not on there that has the most cap right now is the 49ers. So, like, if the 49ers really wanted to go all out. There was rumors. They're a lot to do that. There was rumors this summer that they were trying to do a three-way
Starting point is 01:06:51 with Steelers, Raiders and Niners, IUK, Devontae, all of that. Obviously it never came to fruition, but there was a report that that was out there. They were interested in them, but they did just sign IUK. And Juwan Jennings. It's a one-year rental. And they got the most cash space.
Starting point is 01:07:07 We talk about quarterbacks on rookie deals. And with the fact that McCaffrey doesn't look good. Yeah, let's talk about McCaffrey a little bit, which is very interesting. Yeah, IU hasn't hit his stride yet after the deal gets done over there. If Devontae goes to the Niners. That's a Madden team. Not allowed. Yeah, can't do it.
Starting point is 01:07:24 Pearsall's on IR. Makes sense. Just get another guy in there. Everybody's like, the Chiefs are going to get it. Well, in the division, not going to happen. And then we just said the Vikings can't do it. That should not be allowed. The Niners are the most not allowed team to get Devontae Adams I think I've ever heard of.
Starting point is 01:07:38 I think they're not allowed. Yeah. And that's a team that Devontae maybe does do like one year. He's from that area, right? I mean, he would still be because that was one of the reasons he went to Vegas because he's like much closer to the family. The Niners would fit that bill still. Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:07:52 Brock Purdy, too. He'd be able to figure it out. Kyle Shanahan. Might help Iuke a little bit. The Christian McCaffrey situation. Before we go, let's get this guy's thoughts. Ladies and gentlemen, one of the only members of the Houston Tex texans ring of honor a future first ballot hall of famer you can see him on cbs sports every fourth week ladies and gentlemen jj wall jj ah guys happy to be here really excited to be on the
Starting point is 01:08:18 show with you today was that condescending didn't it sound no no i'm seriously i'm some days you know you just wake up. You got the energy. You got the juice. You're ready to roll. Today is that day. I'm happy to be here. Happy to be with the group.
Starting point is 01:08:30 Is that because the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes was in a Thunderdome last hour? That had to be why it was. Didn't hurt. Didn't hurt. That music hit my television set like a fucking sonic boom. My house floated. I wasn't ready for it. I was in the kitchen making a cup of coffee,
Starting point is 01:08:46 and that shit hit my eardrums. I said, let's have a date. Okay, is Devontae Adams going to Houston Texans for a one-year rental potentially? Is he going to the San Francisco 49ers? Is he going to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania? Is he going to the Vikings? What do you think about Devontae Adams on the move, JJ?
Starting point is 01:08:59 I mean, I think you have to look at these situations as can he make us a Super Bowl contender right now? Does this make our team better immediately? The Texans, I think their receiving core is strong and set. I don't think they're good. The Steelers is an interesting one. I do think he can obviously help that receiving core. The Niners, I mean, you guys have already said it.
Starting point is 01:09:19 That would be pretty wild. Chiefs could certainly use them with some of the injuries that they have. But, again, that's one of those where he goes there and you're like, son of a bitch, that's like Kevin Durant of the Warriors. So it's tough, man. I mean, I actually do think the Steelers make a lot of sense. I don't know what they want to do there, how they're planning. Obviously, the Jets makes a lot of sense. But when you're taking on that type of guy in that type of situation, you have to decide, is this going to make me better right now? Can this take us to the Super Bowl right now?
Starting point is 01:09:48 I think there are some teams that that doesn't necessarily fit for. There are so many different reports happening all at the same time about who's interested and what. The Raiders are reaching out to these people. Teams are obviously interested in Devontae Adams. I think, what is the interest level? Is the interest level actually checking in, saying
Starting point is 01:10:04 what is it going to take to get this thing done? Is the contract a part of this entire thing? Will there be a holdout situation? Will this get ugly? So I think there's a lot of people poking around, as there should be. Inevitably, I think this is going to happen relatively quick. I think there's a chance that some teams...
Starting point is 01:10:18 It's early in the season, and it's not like this is an 0-4 situation. Sometimes you get those where it's 0-4, you've got a star player, and you're like, he's at a point in his career where he wants-4 situation. You know, sometimes you get those where it's 0-4, you've got a star player and you're like, he's at a point in his career where he wants to go win. You understand those ones. This one's not necessarily that. It's not like they're completely out of anything here.
Starting point is 01:10:34 So this one is definitely a little more interesting. But watching the press conferences and seeing the way people talk, I agree with you. This one seems like it's going to move very fast. Well, congrats to all parties. Now let's talk about another situation that is happening. We talked about San Francisco 49ers there. So we didn't know Achilles was involved at all in any of the Christian McCaffrey offseason stuff.
Starting point is 01:10:54 We thought it was calf. And then all of a sudden Schefter on like Monday of opening week maybe is like, he's got a calf Achilles thing. And we go, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. We didn't hear the Achilles. He's like, well, it's actually Achilles arthritis or tendonitis or whatever. Yeah, tendonitis or whatever it is. So he's just waiting for the inflammation to go down.
Starting point is 01:11:14 He travels over to Germany, gets some treatment that isn't legal here in the United States, but isn't cheating either. It's kind of a similar treatment, but they just do it differently over there. It's supposed to happen. He comes back. They're getting on the field this week. We'll see how it goes. Nobody has an answer.
Starting point is 01:11:28 And then it comes out like yesterday. Well, it's actually on both legs. He's actually had this on both. And the way Shanahan kind of gave the answer, it was like, no, during the time he's had it in both. I think it started in one. Then he overcompensated and went to the other. But mainly one of them has just been bothering him, but he's had it in both. So I think potential other Achilles tendonitis in past, like maybe a year ago, two years ago.
Starting point is 01:11:55 Maybe throughout the entirety of this thing it exists because tendonitis can flare up whenever. Now it's also in the other one, which is probably why they're a bit alarmed or perturbed in this whole thing. How do you read this? What do you think happens here? And how bummed out are you, just like me, that we haven't seen Christian McCaffrey? And I did not expect this at all this season. I thought Christian McCaffrey was going to go.
Starting point is 01:12:14 And if you listen to Schefter, who we think is pretty in, in the information game and all this, he drafted Christian McCaffrey in the first round of his fantasy football this year. So he thought, I think Schefter thought Christian McCaffrey was going to win. I think a lot of people did, and then this just kind of comes out of nowhere. Quite a bummer in my eyes, but how do you see it working out, JJ?
Starting point is 01:12:31 First of all, how is Schefter allowed to play fantasy football? I feel like that should be against the rules. They all have that one show. Remember Vanderfield Yates? He broke his shoulder down at the fantasy football draft tackle celebration on Saturday. Everybody called him soft. He sold out. It's a good tackle.
Starting point is 01:12:49 Yeah, I kind of have respect for that. But anyways, yeah, I think it has certainly snowballed downhill here quickly. I mean, I remember that first week of the season. I remember it was like, is he going to play? Is he not? It was a game-time decision. And now to be sitting here, you know, four weeks later and zero timetable for return.
Starting point is 01:13:08 He's gone to Germany, which is generally never a good sign when you're over there mid-season. I think you don't want to speculate, obviously, about what happened over there. But there's been many guys that have gone over to Germany in the past and they do successful things over there. No, I've done some similar treatments to what they do over there. I've never actually gone over there. I mean, I have you successful things over there no I've done some similar treatments to what they do over there I've never actually gone over there I mean I know Kobe's been
Starting point is 01:13:28 over there um we talked about that before um so it does there are there are definitely things that help with tendonitis that's for sure so I'm hoping that that he got that and it helps extremely quickly because the world wants to see him but this is always a fascinating part for me with sports as well as we put these timelines on things and we have these expectations for these guys because we're not attached to them whatsoever. We just want to see him on the field. We don't really, we're like, just get back out there. Four weeks, four or five weeks.
Starting point is 01:13:55 But the person, like he's going through just agony. Like he wants to know what's wrong. He wants to know how to make it better. Every single day he wants to make progress towards getting back on the field. Yet all he does is turn on the TV and see everybody talking about, when's he going to get back? What is it? It adds this stress, this anxiety on top of you that as a player is really tough.
Starting point is 01:14:14 And we do forget because we make all the big money, because there's so much gambling on the line, because there's billions of dollars on the line, everybody wants the information, I understand. But at the same time, I do think that we sometimes forget that these guys are human, and he literally has something extremely painful going on in his Achilles. And if he could be out there
Starting point is 01:14:32 in any capacity, he would be. Godspeed, Christian CMC. Get back soon. Get back soon. Sooner or later for everybody. I'm joking. I'm joking. They're a powerhouse anyway. They've obviously tripped up a little bit here and there, but, I mean, that team with the talent that they have,
Starting point is 01:14:48 when you even mentioned Devontae, it hadn't even crossed my mind that that is a potential destination. It always reminds me of that Chris Paul trade where the NBA literally blocked the trade. How come they've never done that since? How come that's never happened again? I think of the fallout and the reaction of it all, what's that? Because LeBron wanted
Starting point is 01:15:08 to do it, so they let it happen. Now every team gets to do it. Oh, you're talking because the heatles happened? Yeah, bingo. Chris Paul was to the Lakers, right? That's the one. That wasn't a trade, though. That was a free agency. The NBA owned the Pelicans or whatever at that time. Yeah, they were the acting ownership. That was wild. Talk about a wild scenario. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:15:23 So what? What? Exactly. So exactly what? So Chris Paul, no. Sorry. Bron Bron? Whatever you want to do. It was a trade, though.
Starting point is 01:15:30 It was free agents. Those are two different things. Whatever. Whatever. Don't care. You're the best. Go ahead. A little side.
Starting point is 01:15:39 Okay. Yeah, I'm sure they weren't cooking the books for LeBron again. Chris Paul with San Antonio, by the way. Yeah, take their over. He's going to get it. I know who the ball is supposed to be going to here. He's going to tell everybody else who it's supposed to be going to. Yeah, and he's not going to take any shit.
Starting point is 01:15:54 He is not going to take it. Go ahead, AJ. JJ, yesterday we had Aaron Rodgers on. He talked about his whole cadence situation. Seemed to clear the air. He and Salah are doing great. They hug, especially in the locker room. Hopefully on the field, the hugs get better are doing great. They hug, especially in the locker room.
Starting point is 01:16:09 Hopefully on the field, the hugs get better for all of us to see, I guess, or more, you know, they're both in on it as much. But what do you, from playing against that cadence that Aaron has, can you like describe what it's like and what kind of weapon that is for an offense? Yeah, yeah. I heard AQ talking earlier about it. He had some great insight on it. And I agree. Aaron's cadence is very difficult to play against against i think the cadence is one of the most underutilized things in the national football league and when somebody uses it properly it is a very legitimate weapon um so i don't think that he should ever back it down because it truly can get you extra first downs extra yards extra opportunities i mean everybody knows he's the best they're getting guys to jump offside and then taking a deep shot down the field and why not
Starting point is 01:16:49 it's a deep ball you have a chance to connect on it but the thing that aaron does so well and it is difficult aq obviously can speak to this everybody has to be on the same page there's so much information that they have but if you do it right aaron's is like chaos it is he goes up to the line and it always sounds the same but he could do it on three he could do it right, Aaron's is like chaos. He goes up to the line, and it always sounds the same, but he could do it on three. He could do it on four. Like most guys have it's on one or it's on two, and that's about all they can handle mentally
Starting point is 01:17:13 and all the offensive line can handle mentally. Let's be honest here. We're not dealing with rocket science. Yeah, it's the offensive line. We've got to keep it pretty simple. But Aaron's, he'll go on four, and they all sound the same as one. And most guys, like if they're going on two, you can tell. Like it's like a hard one, and then the second one.
Starting point is 01:17:33 Or they're always the same. And generally, their offensive line knows that he likes this enough that they aren't tipping each other off. Like AQ was speaking about earlier, offensive line always has that little, you know, hold your water or jeeter jeeter because it's on two or something like that. Aaron's guys generally in the past, at least when I've played him,
Starting point is 01:17:53 haven't really given it away. So it completely negates your ability to get a good jump on a pass rush and it can give you a few extra plays a game, free plays. Yeah, it's one of the things that separates him, I think. Like that is literally a part of his game, his accuracy, his ability to read the defense, and also his cadence is what people, like, attribute to him. And I think other
Starting point is 01:18:09 quarterbacks ask him about the cadence. I feel like it's one of his things. So whenever it was kind of presented in a press conference, like, hey, well, you're, like, maybe the greatest all-time at, we're going to have to slow that thing down a little bit. And then he's, like... It's like telling a pitcher, like, your fastball is too fast, man. Catcher can't catch up to it. Knock it down. Yeah like telling a pitcher, like, your fastball is too fast, man.
Starting point is 01:18:26 Catcher can't catch up to it. Knock it down. Yeah. Like, no, I'll get a new fucking catcher, man. Exactly. That is kind of what his answer was. But, like, for AQ, an interesting conversation I'd love to have with him is, like, he was talking about the offensive line, ace blocks. You come up to the line,
Starting point is 01:18:38 and they have to kind of remind each other of everything. For me, as a vet, the further you go, the more you can pick up on those and use them. Early in career you just got to focus on your job i just need to worry about what i have to do but as you go later those guys start talking i know the play before it starts if i hear cc i know that's a c block they're going to come down so i i know exactly what run play is coming if i hear jeter jeter i know that's on two or some guys say soco soco for second color that means if he says green 18 green that's the second color so they're snapping your corner stallions in the middle of these games sounds like oh yeah they do they do decoding and we're
Starting point is 01:19:15 the same way like la new york is like a big thing with like blitz calls right so like i'm picking that up and i'm like yo if we got a scoop here let's slow this down turned into an ace on the run it's like it's little things like that but it's it's so true what he said like as you get older you have to like i know when i played next to justin pew and jr sweezy like eight-year guys nine-year guy and i was i think my 10th or 11th year at that point it's hey we have to be very good anytime there's a naked a play action whatever and make run calls like we have to ace ace ace deuce deuce deuce hey we got an ace hey let's scoop to mike 52 knowing we're just running a naked and we're going to
Starting point is 01:19:50 take a shot right like you have to be good on that because and even if it's just once jj right like even if it's just one time you hear an ace call and it's not an ace it's like oh shit now i gotta think same thing as an same thing as a back to the. If a guy goes on two or three in the first two series of the game, all game long I have to worry about it. He may never go on two again, but now I have to think about it the whole game, and I'm never going to jump that one. It's those little things. And like you said, the older guys get it, and you've got the Trent Williams,
Starting point is 01:20:18 the Lane Johnsons, the Jason Kelseys. Those guys will start making fake calls, and I don't think they're smart enough to do that and then they do it and then I'm screwed you're the dumb idiot yeah I'm the idiot yeah yeah hand up man up I am a moron a lot um but it's it's fascinating so people always ask me why don't they change the calls like don't they know that and I'm like yes but the nature of the NFL is guys are changing teams so often practice squad guys are coming up guys are getting hurt you have to have similar calls for these guys to be able to
Starting point is 01:20:50 plug and play every week so basically every team in the NFL generally has one set maybe two sets of calls that cover the whole league you could plug and play in any offense pretty much did I get you I got you on a field goal probably one time, I think. I think I probably got you. Probably. The field goals are tough because those guys are watching the hand, you know, the hand or like the center's head bob, things like that. Those ones are tough. Another big one is the play clock.
Starting point is 01:21:16 The play clock is a big one. You see that play clock winding down, you know they can't go on to as soon as that thing hits zero, they have to snap it, so boom, you're off the ball. I, against the Colts, in a playoff game, learned the hard way that the refs won't throw a delay game flag until the clock is past zero. Yeah, because remember they say clock, down, clock, down, then throw or something like that.
Starting point is 01:21:40 I hit it at zero. Big mistake. Big mistake. It needs to be negative point half. You need to let that thing go one more side. Go ahead, AQ. Carson Palmer had one of the best things. So it was third and one, right?
Starting point is 01:21:51 Like anytime we had a third and one, he had this cadence called Daytona, right? And it was Daytona is the live word. So he'd sit there and he'd get up, White 80, White 80, send somebody in motion. White 80, Blue 20, hot, hot, hot, hot. And at this point, he would wait because now the defense thinks that it's – No play. No play, right?
Starting point is 01:22:10 He would wait for the D tackle to get on a knee. And Daytona, Daytona, hut. And then we'd run the play. And it was awesome. That's brilliant. It was awesome. Because that's exactly what we do. We're like, oh, fake play, and then we all just chill.
Starting point is 01:22:23 And I've never seen anybody actually do it. That's brilliant. It was awesome. I was always like, somebody might as well take advantage because we all relax. Well, that's like fake spike play. I think Peyton was trying to do that a bunch of times. Those deception plays are awesome in theory, and when they work out, that's beautiful. Hands, too, right? Except for certain fake punts, right?
Starting point is 01:22:39 Certain fake punts don't work out. Oh! Classic! Yes! Hey, some quarterback's hands, though, too, right? In there, like, some tells that come in, like, some quarterback's hands will, like, before the ball is about to actually get snapped, they, like, just move their fingers just a little bit and de-tackle.
Starting point is 01:22:56 I don't think people understand the level of scrutiny that we take to opposing teams' film. Like you said, whether it's the hands, sometimes the guys heal. If one heals a little bit more off the ground than the other, that's a pass play. If it's flat, it's a run play. Or if one foot's a little bit more in front of the other, that means he's going to open to the left versus open to the right. There's so many different things. Offensive linemen stances, I mean, everybody knows the old school one where if they have weight down on their fingers and their knuckles are white versus if they're back. But it's a two-point stance versus is that two-point and is in step or is it to the heel? Like, we literally dissect everything.
Starting point is 01:23:31 You say Connor Stanton, and that's why it was so funny to me with this whole thing is I'm like, every single team in the country, if you're a reputable organization whatsoever, is trying to find every single advantage. That one's its own. But, like, we are trying to find every minute little detail. We're listening to every TV call for the cadence, for the inflection of the voice, for the offensive line calls, anything.
Starting point is 01:23:53 We're trying to find any advantage we can. Which is why having a great cadence is a massive weapon and why Aaron goes, if we're going to be trying to win a Super Bowl, the cadence has to stay. I don't know about everybody else, but cadence is going to have to stay, quite a weapon. It's going to be trying to win a Super Bowl here, the cadence has to stay. I don't know about everybody else, but cadence is going to have to stay. Quite a weapon. Get you to show coverages, too.
Starting point is 01:24:08 You go on that two or three, you got to blitz something. Like, you know, if A.J. got a blitz or I got a blitz, maybe if my blitz, he catches me, all right, here, you take it, you switch it. But you get that safety rotation. And quarterbacks, you know, Aaron, you know, you're 10, 15 years in the game. All right, it's going to be this coverage. You get a guy on film who you know can't really hold his water. Maybe it's a new guy in the lineup.
Starting point is 01:24:27 It's always tell. So it's a lot of things that go into that cadence on every level, the D linemen, the linebackers, and the DBs. And if you have the D linemen on their heels just a little bit, like he said, if they go on two or whatever, that opens up everything. For instance, a run game. Let's go to the Baltimore Ravens because in the first quarter, the run game was going,
Starting point is 01:24:43 and that hasn't been good in the history of that particular running back yeah you're very familiar with this guy Derek Henry still doing it at a high high level uh I feel like most of his big runs have come with Patrick Ricard in the game as well what's your thoughts on this Baltimore uh run game as a whole yeah I mean I think I sit there and I look you know Derek Henry obviously switching teams and people have the narrative of running backs being you know short shelf life or you know he's turned 30 and now all of a sudden he's old which is ridiculous to even say out loud but I think we have to give him his flowers he's gotten a lot of them but I think he deserves even more because the guy just continues to perform at an unbelievably high level especially
Starting point is 01:25:20 for a guy his size you would look at a guy his size and think, massive guy, all these yards, all these carries over the years, he's going to break down over time. He just continues to do it at the highest level, and now in one of the most potent rushing offenses, following a guy like Patrick Ricard. So I tip my hat to him because I know how difficult that is, and we've seen running backs fall off before, and he clearly doesn't look like he's falling off at all.
Starting point is 01:25:42 So I think it's a massive statement about his training regimen about the way he takes care of his body and does look like he's slowing down anytime soon doesn't he do those rubber he does like 315 earthquake bar yeah with the earthquake bar like his workouts legendary in the offseason and then pairing him with patrick ricard and then them starting the game with an 87-yard run. I mean, that's like, that's dream start for Derrick Henry. That's demoralizing for a defense, I can tell you that. You're standing out there and on play one. Like, all week long you talk about your goals for the week, and it's like, all right, under 105 yards rushing, guys.
Starting point is 01:26:16 If we keep them under 105, we're going to win the game. Play one, 87. All right, guys, we got about 20 yards to play with here. Yeah, it's going to be tough. Derrick Henry, third, fourth quarter, normally, is where the story comes from. The fact that they had that rolling in the first quarter, insane. They're potentially one of the teams that fans are thinking
Starting point is 01:26:34 maybe Deontay Adams goes and joins this squad. With the way Lamar Jackson's playing, and with the way Derrick Henry's playing, and the way that defense is always going to be, it's like, hold the phone. Those all-black uniforms are nice. That's a good-looking, always a good-looking uniform. And their fans.
Starting point is 01:26:51 We talked about this with Kyle Van Nooy. Their fans don't get enough credit for being like a tenacious squad out there. They talk shit. They're loud. They get it. It's a great place to play, yeah. Phenomenal fan base. Smart football fans.
Starting point is 01:27:03 They know when. They know how. They know what is going to get under some people's skins. I mean, it is.enomenal fan base. Smart football fans. You know, they know when, they know how, they know what is going to get under some people's skins. I mean, it is, it's a good place. If they get the Von... They are kind of underrated as a fan base. You're right. They don't really get talked about a lot. Speaking of being an underrated fan base,
Starting point is 01:27:17 Teng Diggs has a question for you. Yeah. I don't know if anybody's ever said that about this team, but how come the O-line for Colts is allowed to just cheat the entire game? You got any idea on that? I thought your question was going to be about the Loud House being so loud. The game was in the Loud House, and the Colts were cheating in the Loud House. I heard it was loud.
Starting point is 01:27:36 I heard it was loud. Yeah. So loud, man. It was loud. That's why there was so much love. There was a lot of hugs. You called that, right? No.
Starting point is 01:27:43 You called that, right? No, it was a hug. It was a love. It was like, look what we're doing. Look how loud this place is. It's pretty cool. Tying his belt. Let's see.
Starting point is 01:27:48 Let me hug you. I can be 100% honest with you here. Everybody wants to say I'm biased. I'm not. Some of these, I understand. Having played, I know that some of these aren't getting called. That one specifically, people have shown a lot this week. The ball was out.
Starting point is 01:28:03 If he did have the ball for another half second and there was an actual opportunity to potentially get that sack, I think the ref throws it. But the ref saw the ball was out, so I don't think he's going to call that one, truthfully. I know what it's like. You watch the game, and there's ones I get mad about because I know they should be throwing the flag,
Starting point is 01:28:21 and then there's ones where I'm like, that was a hole, but they'll never call it. And that's kind of one of those. Well, and also TJ couldn't get off because the stadium was so quiet whenever Joe Flacco had the ball. Didn't have any advantage either. So he did get into the grasp of Fraz. You know, and that's something.
Starting point is 01:28:36 Fraz will get you. That's something. They threw a lot his way, man. They threw. There was Chip City over there. It was tight end city. There was a whole lot going on over there. Those are frustrating, man.
Starting point is 01:28:46 So frustrating. They did a great job. How come Flacco never gets the start from the gate? How come no team is doing that? Yeah, that's a question Connor actually has for you. Yeah, JJ, how did you feel about watching Flacco again? Did it make him want to kind of strap him back on just because he is 80 years old, still spinning the pill?
Starting point is 01:29:05 In the same vein, do you think also Dalton should maybe get a shot at kind of taking the reins just like Flacco? I mean, A, they did an interview with him after the game. I think he said he's, what, 38, 39. In recent years, when you compare him to Brady and Rodgers, I was like, oh, he's younger than I thought he is. But it is interesting to me that he's always got to come off the bench and just go out there and crush it. I mean, he literally had to leave Cleveland, oh, he's younger than I thought he is. But it is interesting to me that he's always got to come off the bench and just go out there and crush it.
Starting point is 01:29:27 I mean, he literally had to leave Cleveland, basically, because they didn't want a quarterback controversy there. So how come no team has taken this guy as their number one right now and just riding with him for a couple years and seeing what happens? We know he's not going to be a long-term solution because he can't be, but he can clearly still play ball at this level, and he's better than some of the 32 starters in this league, I would assume. So you got a guy like that, you got a guy like Dalton, you give him a shot, especially if you're one of these teams with a
Starting point is 01:29:53 young quarterback, you want to give a chance to sit. I think that's kind of what happened here with the Colts is he was obviously insurance for Anthony Richardson, and it's working out well for him right now, but how come somebody's not giving him that week one job and saying hey we're not exactly in the spot where we have our quarterback of the future but we want to win let's put Flacco there we're happy that it happened here in Indianapolis and it came out Cleveland Browns didn't even offer him uh to come back after leading them to the playoffs after coming in middle of the season and then just spinning it all over the yard and obviously that's happening because the amount of money they pay Deshaun. We don't need these Browns fans and the Elf, you know,
Starting point is 01:30:28 that Elf run wild over there to be clamoring for Joe Flacco if Deshaun doesn't work out early, which is kind of happening right now. Is it Deshaun? Is it the offensive line? Is it everything? Whatever the case, Flacco would be getting his name chanted over there. So instead, he ends up with the Colts and it's with Shane Steichen and he knows the offense. We have some weapons. And when he steps in there, Ben Roethlisberger even said it on football,
Starting point is 01:30:50 and he was like, they've got a running back in Jonathan Taylor. So, like, AR being able to run is certainly an advantage, but Joe Flacco has Jonathan Taylor, who's running very well. And he knows this Steelers defense. He knows this offense. He's incredibly accurate. And he's just – he's very calm at all times. I don't see.
Starting point is 01:31:06 Have you ever seen him really? There's never been a flustered Flacco. Nope. Ever been a flustered Flacco. He's been through everything. It's just like when we had Luck. Now he wasn't as, I don't want to use the word, fragile. But he didn't get banged up as much as A.R. did early on.
Starting point is 01:31:22 But having a guy like Hasselbeck, you know, can come in for a game, two, three, for whatever games, you know, he was unflappable. He was going to be ready. He was going to get in and out of calls. He could make every throw. That's a very, very good spot to be in as a team because, once again, when you run out of that tunnel and you got a quarterback lean, you know, hey. What do you think it is, J.J.?
Starting point is 01:31:41 Tough, tough road today. What do you think it is? You think people just think that Joe Flacco can't do it? Because every time he talks, he's basically like, not a lot of Johns calling. Not a lot of him. Like last year, he was like, Brown's the only team that really called and gave me an offer, and I was excited to be here.
Starting point is 01:31:58 I think there's so many people looking for that guy of the future, and they don't want to create uh like you said a controversy especially like in cleveland or somewhere like that so your first call is not going to be to a 38 39 year old guy but you look at that on flip side i'm not saying they're the exact same level of talent or whatever it may be but people are calling for aaron rogers right away as soon as he becomes available and joe flacco, he can win you ballgames. Like, it's not like he can. Kirk Cousins got 180 million.
Starting point is 01:32:31 No offense, Kirk, great football player. I'm not saying the same thing, but it's like. Off of tequilas. Yeah, maybe I'm missing something here. Maybe there's something in his game that I don't understand. But, like, I think this guy should be one of the 32 starting quarterbacks somewhere in this league. Like, somebody could be better with him as their starter right now. We're not trying to trade him, so phones shut off.
Starting point is 01:32:51 What if the Raiders want him? It's just narratives. It's not much different than the same conversation we had about trading for a vet versus trading on draft day, right? The way I always look at this is the minute you think logical, the people upstairs think the other way. I'm not kidding. It's like, holy shit, that guy can play.
Starting point is 01:33:14 That guy might be able to play in nine years. Let's play him. That's what it is. Am I wrong? You seem a little jaded. Why do you think that is? I think because upstairs, their whole job and the reason they get paid is because they find the guy that's, you know,
Starting point is 01:33:29 whenever the grass is greener on the other side. I think, you know, the guy that ends up becoming the head of, you know, scouting for the department started as a low-level scout, but he found this guy from Saginaw Valley State who ended up being a six-year starter at guard. He knows talent. He's the next guy, pro person. And then he tries to find six more from Saginaw Valley State who ended up being a six-year starter at guard. He knows talent. He's the next guy pro-person. And then he tries to find six
Starting point is 01:33:48 more from Saginaw Valley State. And guess what? And you get fired. Am I wrong? You got it all to play? No. The only thing I would add to it is younger is always cheaper, too. You're always going to try and they want the younger, cheaper guy and then hopefully lock him in longer if he is successful.
Starting point is 01:34:04 It's a lot easier to get out of a young guy's contract generally than it is out of a set. AQ has a question for you, JJ. Yeah, so let's stick with the desert, right? Cliff comes in. I think anybody that's ever played for Cliff is a big affinity towards him, right? And you see him get the game ball. It's pretty cool.
Starting point is 01:34:21 The offense looked really good. My question is, do you think it was Cliff and the commander's offense, or do you think it was because the Cardinals' defense was Swiss cheese out there? Whoa, geez. Oh, come on. Swing. Buddies, I'm playing with you. I know.
Starting point is 01:34:34 I know. Sorry, sorry. Keep it put. I'm going to go heavy Cliff. I'll keep going heavy Cliff. But I agree with you. Anybody that's played for him or knows him loves him. He's a great guy.
Starting point is 01:34:45 So for me to see that locker room after the game, to see him get the game ball into that atmosphere and that vibe and just knowing how happy he was, such a cool moment for him, so happy for him. And also their offense is just absolutely balling out. Gets called out a couple weeks ago by the Bengals for having a high school offense. Hangs up a bunch of points and a win on them comes back here to Arizona where he got fired hangs up 42 on them um Jayden Daniels looking phenomenal I believe the stat is two games in a
Starting point is 01:35:16 row of 85 percent or more completion percentage nobody's ever done that before if he does it three times in a row he'll become the only player ever to do it three times an entire season not just he would have just done it no anybody ever in the history of the nfl nobody's done it three times in a whole year he might be able to do it three times in three weeks like pretty incredible what's going on over there and i said it last week but it's awesome when a franchise finds their guy and they kind of know it early. And it's also a testament to new coaching staff, young quarterback. You can turn a program around very quickly. Now, I don't know what's going to happen the rest of the year.
Starting point is 01:35:53 This could be a freezing take, come down the line. But right now, this is proof that you don't have to go into this full rebuild mode when you have a brand-new coaching staff and you have a young quarterback. You can turn things around extremely quickly, and it's cool to see what about davante to the commanders i'm telling you there's a couple of these teams where you just pick them up and drop them in there and you're like holy shit like the vikings yeah look out i mean imagine him going to the vikings with it it's fun when there's this type of speculation because every single fan base is there like generally there's not huge
Starting point is 01:36:26 names available mid-season, especially week four like this. Every single fan base is sitting there right now like, yep, plug him in. We're going to the Super Bowl immediately. You look at that and some of these teams like Cleveland, I don't know if he makes them a Super Bowl contender right now. That one, even though
Starting point is 01:36:41 they have all that cap space, doesn't make sense. The Lions have Amon Ross, St. Brown. They've got a good squad right now. So that one, even though they have all that cap space, doesn't make sense. I mean, the Lions have Amon Ross St. Brown. They've got a good squad right there. Like, is he going to make them exponentially better right now? There's no doubt he's going to add to that team. The Cowboys, you've got C.D. Lamb. You've got – I don't know if he's turning them into a contender. The Commanders are an interesting one.
Starting point is 01:36:59 The Jets, obviously, there's the affinity with Aaron and everything there. Saints are interesting. I mean, run the hell out of the ball with Alvin Kamara. Pass on up to Devontae. He loves Derek Carr. Patriots. Indianapolis Colts not on the graphic. Obviously a spot, you know, because the defense just said, nah.
Starting point is 01:37:16 And they just win games. So what? Caleb threw for three plus, 300 plus. Justin Fields threw for 300 plus. You guys are undefeated. We score more points. Yeah, exactly. That's what we do. Ben was in the building. Colts said Ben, baby. You guys were undefeated. We scored more points. Yeah, exactly. That's what we do. Ben was in the building.
Starting point is 01:37:28 Colt said, you know what? We'll be hospitable. We'll let the ball fly a little bit. How was the game with Ben? That was cool? It was good? You know Ben well? Do you know Ben?
Starting point is 01:37:38 No. No, I know him a little bit, but not. I don't know him well. He's got good moxie. He was good vibes. He was invested in game. Big time. Like, invested in game, which was cool to see, that entire thing.
Starting point is 01:37:49 His takes on stuff in real time during the game, fun to hear. Told a couple stories. He'll be on the show Friday, 12-15. Nice. Ben Roethlisberger will be on the show on Friday. What kind of food you got in that suite? What are we working with in there? What do you need?
Starting point is 01:38:05 What do you need, bud? I don't know. I'm a big... I love food, obviously. So I love hearing what we got in the suite. Not the food that's in our suite, I don't think.
Starting point is 01:38:12 No way. Yeah, we got good tasting stuff. We got good chicken tenders. These chicken tenders are the prime. They are... Then there's some... Are they like lightly breaded
Starting point is 01:38:23 or are they those thick, heavy breading? Are we talking like a Cane's or are we talking like a...ed or are they those thick heavy breading are we talking like a Canes Tyson I do wish it was I do wish it was a little bit less breading on top of it I wish there was more
Starting point is 01:38:36 still tastes phenomenal they gotta do a thousand sweets what kind of dipping sauce what are we dipping it in you're talking about those ketchup pot sauce all the things you could possibly need obviously available buffalo chicken dip always crowd pleaser steak and cheese dip steak and cheese dip right next to the buffalo has been added this year phenomenal the brisket mixed with the mac run me back run me back here tinder and the steak steak and cheese dip so there's steak in the dip yeah
Starting point is 01:39:05 and then nachos going in there yeah it's like a queso with steak yeah yeah i love that yeah yeah i am intrigued if we could get a photograph of that from somebody in indiana a couple weeks i'm having a tough time for picturing that the The Buffalo chicken dip, to be clear, was show Steeler. Then this steak queso comes in, and it's been equally crowd-pleasing. We get a whole fruit, obviously, platter, fruit platter. It's very good. A lot of people could eat that. Brownies, cookies. So good.
Starting point is 01:39:38 Delicious. Delicious. Pizza comes at halftime. Pizza's good, not great, but it is pizza. What's that, bub? Oh, my God. This is great. you can't do this every week right now well only home games yeah you know you can't look like that you can't look like that if you do it every week you look great thank you science is helping of course but also um the i tried to i tried to i tried to make the rock
Starting point is 01:40:01 was that your cheat day it's probably a cheat day day. It's like The Rock when he eats his cheat day. That's right. No French toast out there, but I will certainly try to add that to the thing. And then there's always like whatever team we're playing, kind of like a tribute or ode to their team. Primanti sandwiches. Well, so. Be careful. Your favorite.
Starting point is 01:40:20 Your favorite. Why are you guys being careful? What happened? It was a mix-up. It was a mix-up. I thought you were dumb. It was a mix-up. That's why I did it. Got to be a real jag off to do what you just did right there.
Starting point is 01:40:32 Got to be real. What was the Ode to Pittsburgh? Rudy Sub's is my sub place. I work there. Rudy Sub's and Pizza. How can I help you? Okay. That's a go-to.
Starting point is 01:40:43 But they're Italian. Whole Italian hot. Lettuce, onion, mayo. Thank you. We'll add the side of fries with cheese. They're crispy fries, so we're going to enjoy that. And I like a Turner jug, please, of iced tea. Brewed right there in Penn Hills, in the East Hills of Pittsburgh.
Starting point is 01:40:57 So that's where I'm headed to. But, yeah, it was a sandwich tribute. It was a sandwich tribute because we are a town of sandwiches. I love it. We are a town of sandwiches. JJ. Yes. JJ. Yep, right here. a sandwich because we are a ton of sandwiches i love it we are a ton of sandwiches um jj yes jj yep right here if you had to give a prediction right now of who's winning the super bowl we're four games into the season who would you say and what the hell is pawaki that's my high school man
Starting point is 01:41:22 that's my high school what are we we're the high school. What are we? We're the Milwaukee Pirates? Yeah, Milwaukee Pirates. We won the state championship two years ago. Hell yeah. Conference realignment is not only in college football. It also took a victim in the Milwaukee Pirates. We moved to a conference that is, let's just say there's some big dogs in there that we aren't accustomed to playing against. Pirates are going to have to tough it up a playing against. So we got a tough little ride.
Starting point is 01:41:48 We just entered the sec of Wisconsin football. And we're not, we're a small school. We're not as big as the sec. So I would say when you asked me, when you asked me, I'd say the chiefs, I mean,
Starting point is 01:42:03 there it has been discussed. They're winning, not even playing close to their best football right now, but they're finding a way to win, which is what you have to do, and they're only going to keep figuring it out as it goes. They're going to keep getting, gelling, getting together, getting in better condition, all of that, and it's going to help them come January, as it always does, where they just find a way to win.
Starting point is 01:42:23 It may not be the prettiest games, but they find a way to win and you can't anybody who says anybody other than them right now um I don't blame you you can guess but you have to pick the piece right now Travis Kelsey all the way back now and then the Rasheed Rice injury allegedly not as bad as they thought initially they're doing more testing could find out if he's able to return this year, which is obviously huge for their offense thus far. Rasheed Rice has been a massive piece. Xavier Worthy goes bananas. He's the fastest guy in the NFL this weekend, hitting the deep shot. Travis Kelsey gets on the board with a bunch of yards, no touchdowns.
Starting point is 01:42:57 How do you feel? Kareem Hunt's getting a rock a lot more because Carson Steele goes back-to-back week with the fumble. Is Travis Kelsey – Chris Jones is playing great. Okay, defense. I mean, Travis is – I'm with everybody else. It's not like he's been a bad football player.
Starting point is 01:43:12 It hasn't been as explosive as it normally has. And I also am not on the other side where this game was like, oh, my gosh, he's finally back. I mean, I think it's 89 yards. It's a good game for him. It's a good, solid game. He's going to continue to get better as the year goes on. Conditioning is going to get better. People are going to start playing
Starting point is 01:43:30 their normal defenses a little bit more. He's going to get that chemistry together with Pat. It's all going to be good. What did you say? He's getting slow? He wasn't ready. Everybody or just him? Everybody. I mean, everybody. As the year goes on, you get better and better. You get more in sync with your offense.
Starting point is 01:43:46 Things start to flow. I'm happy that Travis Kelsey is getting the ball again. I just want to let everybody know. I was about sick of that conversation. Because there's a lot of people taking it as an opportunity to say things about Travis that I don't believe are true. This guy's in GOAT conversation. That is how it is.
Starting point is 01:44:00 And obviously, he's in a lot more things now. And everybody knows, which is good for the NFL, that one of our greatest of all time is getting a lot of attention and getting more opportunities. It's good for our sport, good for our league, but whenever that happens and you're not having the exact same production that they see you in your absolute best games, it kind of opens the floodgates
Starting point is 01:44:16 for people to say stuff. For sure. There is also, like, he is getting older. Like, we can also just, like, at some point, you do start to, your stats are going to start to go down. Like, you can't do it until you're 45 years old, especially at a tight end position like that. So, I mean, we can't analyze every single week, like, oh, my gosh, is he, yeah, at some point, you do start to slow down. No, he didn't slow, he's, what are we, everything opposite.
Starting point is 01:44:43 I didn't say he is right now i said at some point we're going to and people don't need to find something to blame it on on his off season or on his girlfriend or on whatever it may be like at some point it's just yeah football's football man it's hard and you play it for a very long time and as you get a little older it gets a little more difficult so if you want to pinpoint on something because you want a clickbait headline or you want to talk about something you want to you you want to get all the Swifties riled up, go for it. But the truth of the matter is sometimes football is just football.
Starting point is 01:45:11 Don't do that. Don't get them riled up. Don't get them riled up. Bad idea. Because now you're going to motivate the Chiefs even more. You want your team to lose? You want them on your side. They're a rowdy bunch.
Starting point is 01:45:20 It's good to have them on your side. They're an unbelievable fan base. I mean, truly unbelievable fan base. Phenomenal fan base. And also, Travis Kelsey is still Travis Kelsey. That's not. And the Chiefs have them on your side. They're an unbelievable fan base. I mean, truly unbelievable fan base. Phenomenal fan base. And also Travis Kelsey is still Travis Kelsey. That's not. And the Chiefs are still the Chiefs. They're winning games, not playing their best ball. Haven't been happy yet. That's my biggest takeaway. The Chiefs
Starting point is 01:45:34 who are the back-to-back Super Bowl champions, one of the only teams that is still undefeated, have not been like, we played good football today. Not one time. It's like other cultures, other programs, other organizations start feeling themselves a little bit. They just don't do that. I don't know
Starting point is 01:45:50 how or why. Good culture over there. Andy Reid, man. Andy Reid. Great coach. Solid. That's why we sent him a quart of pie with cheese on National Cheeseburger Day. Shout out to Zito. Now, hey, I want to run through some of these polls anonymous players voted on with The Athletic with you.
Starting point is 01:46:06 Just need quick responses. We don't have much time here. On next active player to win his first NFL MVP, overwhelming vote, Josh Allen. 17.6% of the 102 responses. Who's doing these anonymous polls with media? I don't know. That's a big question.
Starting point is 01:46:23 I don't think I've ever met anybody or hung out with anybody. Never. Never been a part of one. Okay, so literally everybody I've talked to or ever hung out with has never done it. But 102 players did do this with the Athletic. Josh Allen up there. Joe Burrow. Christian McCaffrey.
Starting point is 01:46:37 Probably not this year with everything going on. CJ Stroud. Jordan Love. Jared Goff. Round that out. How do you feel about that list there, JJ, that the anonymous voters put? I would agree. Josh Allen's certainly high up there.
Starting point is 01:46:48 It depends on when this poll was taken, preseason or now. I mean, he's obviously playing well now. I do like the fact that the players that anonymously voted on this still don't understand that the MVP is definitely going to a quarterback. I appreciate that. Clearly. I appreciate that the players are like, I don't care. I don't care what it is.
Starting point is 01:47:03 That's just kind of how the modern football is. Let's go. Favorite NFL road trip. Favorite place to play. Los Angeles. 108 responses. Got a few more people to answer this particular question anonymously. Las Vegas, number two.
Starting point is 01:47:14 Hey, Las Vegas flu. How do you do? Seattle, number three. I didn't expect that because people say that is a tough place to play. I think players get excited for the environment, excited for the city. Miami and New York round out the top five there with Dallas in tow. How do you feel about that, JJ? I'm trying to figure out how we went from 102 responses to 108.
Starting point is 01:47:34 Who didn't respond to question one and then was like, no, I actually really want to talk about NFL road trips. Picking and choosing anonymously, you do what you do. I mean, this is journalism, baby. I love playing at Seattle. I am surprised it's that high. I really like it it's also just very far for everybody so it is a very difficult trip no matter what team you're on but i love playing in seattle berkeley california really far as well uh so can't wait for that on saturday way up there excited to get up there
Starting point is 01:47:59 and pumped uh i would have put houston in here and houston higher is obviously in there i would put them higher i love playing down there great steak asses I'm trying to figure out where people are going with this because Vegas and Miami in LA you're kind of like alright, party cities bigger cities like nightlife but then Seattle obviously doesn't fit into that
Starting point is 01:48:18 too well so it's interesting and then Tampa I'm surprised that Tampa and New Orleans are up that high just because it seems like they're going with the big city vibes. Let's go with New Orleans. Least favorite, and not big city, but you get things to do. Least favorite NFL, not that Tampa isn't.
Starting point is 01:48:34 We lived in Tampa. We love Tampa. I'm going to get shit from every city now. This is great. Yeah, that's what we're doing it for. Least favorite NFL road trip here. Number one, by far, Green Bay, Wisconsin. Then Buffalo, New York, Washington, Cleveland. And then Jacksonville is the first warm town that sneaks into that entire thing. I think this is voted completely on weather.
Starting point is 01:48:55 Inside the city. Yeah, because Green Bay is such an awesome place to play, man. Agreed. If you have any football bone in your body, like playing at Lambeau Field, and it's not like you're doing it every week. Let's say you do it one time a year. That is just a special, special trip, a special place
Starting point is 01:49:09 to play, and you should embrace being in a little small town. It's so cool. Jacksonville, literally the only warm town. Yeah, no. The only one. Every other one. New Orleans, way down there, 3.1%. Nobody's trying to go to Appleton, Wisconsin. What? Come on. It's a beautiful place with people. Come on, people. What? Come on. It's a beautiful place. Good people.
Starting point is 01:49:25 Come on, man. You're in the film. Playing in Lambeau. Everything else. You should have asked me. Favorite stadium. What are you doing at the night before a game? I know we got to go.
Starting point is 01:49:35 Good conversation to keep going. Well, there were some stories about what was going on at the night before a game. Some people enjoyed a little bit more than others. We'll be back tomorrow. Goodbye. Nailed it. Boom. Right on.
Starting point is 01:49:44 What are you doing at the night before a game, B-Bud? Are you going. Nailed it. Boom. Right on. What are you doing the night before game, B-Bud? Are you going out on the town? Yeah, Butch. Like, what are you doing? What are you doing, Butch? Depends on the city. Dinner. Dinner.
Starting point is 01:49:52 A dinner guy. Set up a dinner, especially Houston's. A lot of times it was Papados or something like that. Small group of DBs. I bet Butch loved Tampa Bay. But we had meetings, what? Get back to hotel around 8 before 8, 9, whatever. Yeah, so probably dinner or something.
Starting point is 01:50:06 Butchie. Dinner and a show. I can't remember dinner and a bunch. Come on, man. Butchie. I didn't play around. I'm a pro. Yeah, he's an absolute pro.
Starting point is 01:50:13 Pro's pro. And every once in a while you take a tour of a town, you know, because you go to a place. Like we played Washington one time, and it was a night game. And I was like, you know what, I'm going to go walk around D.C. I'm going to go see a little bit of D.C. Monuments. Yeah, you know, like the night before.
Starting point is 01:50:30 Other than that, I just laid it down. What? I just laid it down. I got to be honest. I got to be transparent. It's probably some teammates. Definitely some teammates. So, if we put those cities back up real quick, let me just.
Starting point is 01:50:40 Because when you say restaurants, different restaurants in, you know, Vegas, Miami, L.A., Houston. So some five-star restaurants happen to be in other establishments. As well. They have some other entertainment going on. Like Jordan's Furniture? Like movie theaters? I mean, what's that place in, actually, Appleton with the President's?
Starting point is 01:51:03 The Oval Office? Yeah, 4th Avenue. Red Zone? That's right in Green Bay, actually. That's with the president's? The Oval Office? Yeah, 4th Avenue. Red Zone? That's right in Green Bay, actually. That's right in Green Bay, the Oval Office. The Oval Office. Okay, Green Bay, but never visited that one, but yeah. We don't know how their food was.
Starting point is 01:51:12 We don't know how their food was. What about you, JJ? What was your? Yeah, same thing. He was 20. That's why mine aren't like, yeah, we'd go out and get steaks sometimes and then go to meetings and go to bed. So mine wasn't, I like to see a great city.
Starting point is 01:51:27 Mine comes down to more the commute to the game. So, like, New England was always a tough one because you park in Providence and you've got your hotel there, and then it's like an hour drive. Anytime it's a long drive to the stadium, it is tougher, which is certainly a tactic, and it works well. I did like driving through the neighborhoods. I'm a big fan of driving through the neighborhood seeing people tailgate uh i always love that because it gets me into the right headspace on game day yeah green bay is very interesting you're driving you're
Starting point is 01:51:53 stopping at stop signs in a neighborhood it is uh it is very yeah got a police escort on a highway normally instead you got police escort and it's like their neighbor stop okay got kids on bikes let's make sure we're taking it easy. It's a cool thing. That's why I'm saying Green Bay is the worst. It's like, Green Bay, you're in a movie. You're in a movie. Also, 98 responses. We got 10 people that opted out of this one.
Starting point is 01:52:16 At least 10. Let's see the next one here. Best field surface in the NFL. This is 94 responses. People are like, I'm done with this conversation. I'm out. Basically, everywhere that has grass except for SoFi. Anywhere with grass is an
Starting point is 01:52:32 option? What the hell? 6.4%. Yeah, that's right in the middle there. SoFi Stadium is the highest ranked non-grass stadium in there, and that's once again Los Angeles. Everybody loves going to LA, the weather, and I assume the steakhouses are phenomenal and any other potential
Starting point is 01:52:48 festivities that people are having. Not great. They won't recommend. SoFi's got a quick track. SoFi's very fast turf. It's great. I really enjoy the turf there. Is it as fast as the Coconut Husk we show? Yeah, at Lucas Oil, I only get two votes.
Starting point is 01:53:03 I heard the Coconut husk was fast. I heard it was hard and fast. Really? I heard. Yeah. How is accuracy? Quick track. Because it's grass.
Starting point is 01:53:12 Grass. I mean, that's a bad surface. It used to be. Do the math. It is a bad surface. 7% of 90. It's not 2008 anymore. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:53:21 Oh, God. There was a punt back in 2008 that just stuck in the ground. That was Monday Night Football. Remember that? Very, very bad storm against the Miami Dolphins. Stuck in the ground. I was at the game. That graphic made me realize there's some stadiums that have changed names recently
Starting point is 01:53:36 that I don't even know what they are. The hell is Northwest? I don't know where Northwest Stadium is. I don't know where Huntington Bank Field is. Northwest is Cleveland, I believe. What is 2.7% of 94? So if you do 94 times.027?
Starting point is 01:53:53 So 3% would be what? Because 3 goes in there 31 times, right? 31 and a third times? Three votes, yeah. It would be 3. So it'd be less than three. It'd be two point something?
Starting point is 01:54:07 2.7%. 2.5. Who the hell was the soldier field got to vote? There's no way soldier field got to vote. So! This doesn't make sense. Journalistic standards. You gotta read the fine print.
Starting point is 01:54:23 What is the fine print? Other vote recipients, Empower Stadium, One Vote, Everbank Stadium, Highmark Stadium, MetLife Stadium, Soldier Field. Okay. Did they do it? Is there other fine print? Did people have voting? No, I thought you were just talking about how the numbers.
Starting point is 01:54:38 You called it. You got it out. Somebody's got to get an answer from the Athletic. Did they do a point scale? or is it like top three nobody voted for soldier field there's no way there could have been a bear that just loved it there could have been some slow ass player who just loves playing a soldier anybody know where huntington bank field is northwest is the commanders yeah sorry huntington was cleveland northwest was the commanders aj the houston texas stadium changed its name like five straight years you guys we were down no yeah we've had two names ever we've literally had two names ever reliant then energy that's it and which one was not
Starting point is 01:55:14 selling out neither always sold out oh okay houston texas did you hear about the loud house pal all right and last one here i did they rounded up or down. I didn't want to hear about it, but I heard about it. I heard it was good. They rounded votes? Yeah, so it says... So if a half a person voted? 2.7? They rounded to the nearest tenth of a percentage point. Half votes were awarded if a player gave two answers to a question.
Starting point is 01:55:38 Ah, okay. We've got 94 guys giving multiple answers. 94 responses! So that might be 25 people. You're right. Certainly flawed. Wait a minute. Wait a minute.
Starting point is 01:55:50 We fell for it. Hook, line, and sinker. This is on us. We've got to learn the rules of engagement. Nah, we expected them to have journalistic standards. Where would this poll come from? Like, is somebody standing outside in a facility handing out a piece of paper? Is somebody calling players?
Starting point is 01:56:03 Like, where? I don't know where I would ever encounter somebody. Okay, so I have been presented before in the locker room by somebody asking me if I wanted to take an anonymous poll or do an anonymous questionnaire. And I said, fuck no, never. Anything I say, I'd like my name on. And I walked away.
Starting point is 01:56:17 And I thought to myself, I was a little aggressive with that, but also, who's saying yes to that? In the locker room, somebody's walking in and going, hey, you got some shit to get off your chest anonymously? Just wanted to know if you wanted to do it. It was a media person doing it, not somebody from the team. And it's like, who's saying yes? I would like to know who says yes.
Starting point is 01:56:35 It would have to be a link. I would imagine they would send you a link on your phone where they would just have five or ten questions and, hey, can you fill this out for me? Which I still wouldn't have done, but someone might have done it. Yeah, I'd assume assume and then most annoying player in the nfl 68 responses this could be 14 people we have no idea no idea cj gj 20 of the answers christian will put a random ass list oh no tj want one vote oh that was me i I voted. I voted. 68 responses. How many people are on this screen?
Starting point is 01:57:07 One, two, three, four, five, six. I'm going to do this. Seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13. Logan Wilson? 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. He's a prick, I guess. Wingard? Joe Dirt?
Starting point is 01:57:18 Christian Watts? There's 29 people. Bobby Wagner? What are we doing? So we got some personal grievances. This is insane. Who's voting? Bobby's the nicest. Synonymous! I'm sure he got some personal grievances. This is insane. Who's voting? Bobby's the nicest.
Starting point is 01:57:26 It's anonymous. I'm sure he sacked some quarterback that was pissed about it. Maybe he's too nice. Maybe that's why he's going to vote. Christian Wilkins and Max Crosby. We got the Raiders beeline taking a lot of bullets here. Yeah, well, hey, listen. Randy Graham.
Starting point is 01:57:38 We appreciate all journalism. Thank you for the anonymous poll. I don't. We would never host one or do one, but we're happy that people will do them. TJ said, what about the Loud House? You mentioned it in there. He said it was loud. I didn't say anything, but I did hear it was loud this weekend.
Starting point is 01:57:54 I was watching the game on television. Have you talked to TJ? There was a time where TJ was lined up opposite me in the suite, and I was trying to intimidate him, and then I thought middle of the way through, let's not fire him up. Let's not intimidate him too much. So I gave a thumbs up.
Starting point is 01:58:09 I said, he's doing great. And then he didn't know, and then he was laid off the ball. And then French fries got him. Yeah, good job. Wrapped him up. Did TJ feel that? Was he distracted down there? I'm sure he did.
Starting point is 01:58:20 I'm sure he did. We didn't discuss, but I'm sure he felt the energy. I was trying to get Herbig, too. I was trying to get Herbig, too. I was trying to get Herbig, too, a couple different times. Hey! Hey! A couple of those. A couple of those.
Starting point is 01:58:31 A couple of those. Trying to do the thing. It was a good game, baby. It was a fun game. It was a great game. It was a great game. It's electrifying in there, dude. I don't know how I feel about Anthony Richardson getting hurt,
Starting point is 01:58:42 and the very next play he comes back in, just running him right down in there, man. Use him back in, maybe. It was a helmet to helmet. They said he was good to go. The decision was made to stick with Joe Flacco because of any potential injuries. Helmet to helmet, just head hunting.
Starting point is 01:58:58 Okay. Okay. We're trying to kill a guy? All right. He's got a hip injury, so let's kill him. The league did say that the makeup penalty was bullshit. That one? The non-call?
Starting point is 01:59:07 It was. It was. No, the one that they called you. What about this? Oh, sorry. It was a makeup call. This is the first quarter. It should be first and goal from the fucking two-and-a-half-yard line
Starting point is 01:59:15 half the distance. Wait, wait. What are you saying here? What are you saying? Boom. He tried to knock his head off. He's a running back right here. He tried to knock his head off.
Starting point is 01:59:24 Where do you want him to go? What? That's a thud drill. Took a knee mid-run. They said, Minka, you know what you did. You didn't know he was going to drop to one knee the second he came in for the tackle. Now, after that play happens and he goes down like that and kind of taps
Starting point is 01:59:39 himself out and then they say he was good to go later. What changed? I don't know. I don't know what happened. What changed? He's dead today, though. He's dead today. That's good news. You can also projectile this helmet right at him, too. Yeah, I didn't even think about him trying to roll a ball, you know? Trip his ankle. It's unbelievable.
Starting point is 01:59:55 You guys are trying all the tactics. Those are the worst. You catch a heel under the chin. That hurts, man. Snaps the head straight back. The Steelers defense was fun to watch, legitimately. They were flying around. It was a good fucking game. It was a great game. So much respect for the Steelers, obviously.
Starting point is 02:00:12 And what a huge win for a Colts. Joey Flack, though. It was. This guy. Look out. He's too comfortable. Two-man race in the AFC South, man. Look at him in the pocket. How do you feel about what's going on down in Jacksonville, JJ? Pretty interesting, dude.
Starting point is 02:00:26 Pretty interesting down there. It is interesting. It is interesting. I mean, from the owner before the season saying that it was the best team that they've ever assembled to 0-4 is a pretty quick downfall there. Also, blaming the players is an interesting choice that I don't know goes over too well in any locker room in the world. But as a Texans fan, obviously, and a former player,
Starting point is 02:00:51 any time that the rest of the division struggles, it's always good for the boys in age. Yeah. You guys are struggling. You guys. What would you do in that situation? Coach came in and was like, yeah, well, it'd be nice if our punter could punt the ball. Bill Pulling kind of did that when we were two and whatever that year. Bill Pullian on his local show was like, I was having a pretty historic year, obviously.
Starting point is 02:01:14 We were punting more than anybody. If we had another three quarters, I'd potentially have the record for amount of punts because I did punt ten times in one half. I mean, it was like we were doing it. And I think he said, or nine times in one half, one of them got blocked for a touchdown for the other team. And I ended up making a tackle on another one. I mean, it was pretty tough.
Starting point is 02:01:31 If our partner could directional punt, we'd be in a better spot or something like that, he said. And I was like, talking to me? This guy talking to me? I was like top five and punts out of bounds and I returned. So I showcased things to him. I was like, you know, I'm doing okay.
Starting point is 02:01:44 But I hear what you're saying. I do got to get better. Wisconsin punter had a 78-yard punt this weekend, I believe it was. That was great. Hunters had big, big weekends. Torrey Taylor went for 66 and then pinned a couple deep. The Chicago Bears actually put a highlight film of him. The Irish kid for the Green Bay Packers, Waylon, continues to be a dominant performer. I mean, these dudes are
Starting point is 02:02:06 absolutely insane. Look at this. In the sun. How you doing? Keep it moving. Now, nobody on the field knew that you can't advance a muff, so if he lets that roll into the end zone, he can grab that, and that's a touchdown. He can't advance it. Instead, they get the ball at the two. I think commentators didn't have a clue either. Obviously, fans didn't have a clue.
Starting point is 02:02:22 Players didn't have a clue, but who cares? You get the rock back. That's a big deal. A.J. Cole had a massive one. A.J. Cole of the Raiders has a huge punt. Look at all these punts, too. These are all in, like, the fourth quarter. These are all big times to have big punts and have big outcomes. He sticks one out at the three-yard line.
Starting point is 02:02:39 Absolutely love that. And then does a little flex on it. Love A.J. Cole doing his job at a high level. And then Falcons punter Bradley Pinion, in a huge moment here, scores the first touchdown for the Atlanta Falcons against the Saints. Hits one high. Shouldn't be fair catching that on the two anyway, so what are you doing? Who knows?
Starting point is 02:02:58 Touchdown, Atlanta Falcons, first quarter, fourth and 11. The ball's going to the Saints. Old momentum could go that way. Bradley Pinion says, let me pull one up in the sky and have this guy bobble it and let's get a touchdown here. Young-Way Coup hits a game winner. Falcon, full-time uniform. Make it. Make it your full-time uniform. Please. Just please.
Starting point is 02:03:14 Do everybody a favor. Agree. And Falcons acknowledge their special teams down there. Bradley Pinion scoring touchdowns. Young-Way Coup's hitting 58-yard game winners. Kirk Cousins doing his thing. It's a beautiful time to be kickers and punters. have a question about punters so like for me if a guy uh like we ran a te stunt and the guy did a really good job he picked and i came around and got a sack like i'm getting that guy's steak dinner thanks you sacrificed yourself for me you helped
Starting point is 02:03:38 me you could make a play if a guy downs the ball inside the five for you whether he like dives and throws it back or whatever it is do you are you ever like hey man thanks like a little so there's been stories of kickers and punters like people that kick off in punters in the past i would never do it obviously because you can't no bounties no extra anything like that and so never no i i would not do that obviously i never did that uh other people have done it. But, yeah, tackles inside the 20 on kickoffs. Obviously, there's a potential five hundo here, extra grand here.
Starting point is 02:04:11 During Christmas, if we're doing very well, maybe there's an envelope with a certain amount of money in the locker saying, hey, happy holidays. Thanks for all your support this year. You're kicking ass. Other punters and kickers have done that. Hey, here's a TV potentially to a gunner that made some big time play yeah like there's other punters other no no you've heard good story yeah people there's some nice people out there yeah you would never be able to do that uh on the record of course because once um the head of the snake brett farve situation
Starting point is 02:04:40 takes place with greg they really start to monitor all bounties and anything that's happening on field. That never happened. Yeah, that never happened. Good stories, though. Some good stories. Good old days. I've heard. I've gotten, I've heard that kickers and punters if
Starting point is 02:04:58 let's say zero, every kick is fair caught or touchback. There's been some people who do special teams and also play an offensive position potentially who are like, hey man, thanks. Like a nice little thank you afterwards. Didn't have to do shit today on special teams. That kept me alive.
Starting point is 02:05:17 So I'm very thankful. It's like, hey, no worries. So there is a little, from what I've heard, never with me, but from what I've heard in other places that has happened in the past. Of course. yeah interesting I always love hearing those types of stories and I've also heard similar stories equipment managers who beat up the ball before the game oh I haven't thought about that one yeah I've heard they've had pretty good Christmases I've heard they have had very good Christmases I've heard for good so there's a difference I know
Starting point is 02:05:44 the ball is different but there's a difference. I know the ball's different, but there's a difference between how they beat it up for a quarterback versus kicker. Yeah, quarterbacks actually want... What would it look like? To be more grippy, you know. I feel like quarterbacks want that to be more... Like, the deflation of a football is like the worst thing you could do for
Starting point is 02:05:59 kicking of a football. Like, that is... Because you want that thing to be hard so that whenever you get... You know's like a fastball. You want that fastball to be 101. And if you connect on it, guess what? They're beating it up to make it harder for you. Harder, but beaten up. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:06:15 Yeah, you got to beat it up. You got to pound that leather, baby. You got to pound that leather. Scuff up the sides if you got to. If you can't hit the bottom, that's what they're saying. Anyways, hey, we appreciate the shit out of you jj another great wednesday pal thanks guys have a great one hey the milwaukee pirates are gonna get it they're gonna get it done figure it out defensive start recruiting defensive records uh most tackles for loss in a season. I'm still here. JJ, 2006 22 and a half
Starting point is 02:06:45 TFLs. Wow. Must be a good name. Look down there at most sacks with 18 and a half. That's just a great name. Blaze. Blaze Beltran. What a beast there. Taught him everything he knows. Chris Fontaine.
Starting point is 02:07:02 Oh yeah, we got some Milwaukee Pirates records there. This is defense, obviously. I think Derek has just about every offensive record. That's what Zito just said. Zito said Derek ran shit at Milwaukee on the offense. Yeah, Derek was pretty good. He has every point ever scored.
Starting point is 02:07:22 He was the kicker. He was 33 of 34 for extra points in field goals. Wow. Punt returner, punter, kicker, kick returner. He literally did it all. I've told this story before, but he was so dominant that the homecoming theme, like every year has a theme, like it could be great Gatsby or whatever. Their theme was Derrick.
Starting point is 02:07:44 It blew my mind who's a quarterback whenever you were there uh andy bremberger right there there's my guy francis he won bananas against saint fran the burger 331. jesus tyler thompson was also my quarterback yeah all right we appreciate the hell out of the Milwaukee Pirates. Did not see us talking about Milwaukee Pirates. Yeah, you did. You were. As you can see, not a whole lot of – Wisconsin football is a little different than Texas.
Starting point is 02:08:11 I can tell you that, having watched games. I don't know if I would have played football in Texas. Longest field goal. Longest field goal. David Collins versus Jefferson. It was a free kick, so that's after a fair catch. So the other team punched to you. You fair catch it.
Starting point is 02:08:25 You send kickoff team out on field. Holder has to hold it. And then you just kick it however it was. Coach Romito, the Plum Mustangs, told the refs before every high school football game that I played, like, hey, remember, there is a rule. If they punt it, we fair catch it. We can send out a free kick, and we can kick it from wherever
Starting point is 02:08:43 because you can take like 10 steps. You can take like kickoff steps with it and if it goes through, it goes through. If not, it's just a kickoff. So at the end of halves, potentially end of games, if they're punting situation and you're able to fair catch it, you can send out the free kick, which is what the Milwaukee Pirates smart. How many times did you do it?
Starting point is 02:08:59 Zero! But we were ready for it. We were. We were prepared. We were fucking prepared. And I learned about it. Somebody. How far? What was your best in high school? 40-something.
Starting point is 02:09:12 40-something. 48. I had a chance to hit a 56-yarder. I thought Pewaukee beat you. I was hoping the Pewaukee kid had the further. That would be awesome. There was a 56-yard opportunity against Gateway, which would have been the Whip-Eel record.
Starting point is 02:09:22 But we were down 21-0 or something at the time, so me bitching about it would have been quite a selfish move, but that ball would have went through those uprights, and I'd probably still have one of the records. That was the game our entire team was suspended. Yep, it was not, Craig. Oh. It was not.
Starting point is 02:09:36 What did you guys do? No, Pat and I did not get suspended. I had a test. I couldn't. I legitimately, not the biggest, like, academia guy, I think most people can tell, but it was, everybody goes to breakfast. Everybody decides to go to breakfast when literally every human we know, every human we know.
Starting point is 02:09:52 Skipped like the first three periods. I can't go because I have a fucking test that I have to take, makeup test. And it was French. I had to make up this test and put it in, in this entire thing, middle of fall season. So I don't go. And school is pretty big bear. Like, none of my friends were there.
Starting point is 02:10:07 And then all of a sudden, there's just, like, little whispers. Like, they got him. Oh, no. They got who? Like, everybody. I'm like, what do you mean they got him? Like, well, some asshole wore his fucking Letterman jacket into the same restaurant.
Starting point is 02:10:20 It was at Eaton Park in Monroeville. I think everybody went to. Asshole wore Letterman jacket. Somebody called somebody. Assistant principal shows up at the place there was parties happening in others i mean it was full scene wait wait wait wait hang on they just went to breakfast breakfast skip school it was like skip school pretty much soccer team we lose like four or five guys football team we lose like 10, 11 guys. You suspended players for missing one half a day? It became a big fucking ordeal, dude.
Starting point is 02:10:50 There was a lot of high horsing going around with those teachers. We would learn more about said teachers that were involved in said conversations. Like, oh, can't go to breakfast, huh? Who are we going to breakfast with? These athletes think they can get away with everything is pretty much what they said.
Starting point is 02:11:06 Yeah, some of those teachers. These two good old boys said, no, no, no, no. We want to learn. That's what I'm saying. We want to learn. When I say I'm living the dumbest and luckiest life of all time, I mean it. Like that morning, I just so happened to have to do it.
Starting point is 02:11:19 Like, literally was going. Like, definitely can't wait. There was even a little get-together after the breakfast that was, they walked in, people hiding under tables. I mean, it's a nightmare. They were like, get over yourself.
Starting point is 02:11:34 Well, the pancakes at that place were phenomenal, but it was mostly the smiley kookies. And then Justin King ran for like 400 yards because he was the fastest human on the earth at the time. Didn't matter anyways. No, no, no, no no it's quite a scene what a scene in our high school a big drama and all the teachers you know weren't the biggest fans of old pat mcfee this asshole jock who's the only one i had a little grandstand moment i had to huh who's the bad guy who's the bad guy we we only reason why she was your family
Starting point is 02:12:08 so because i was an before which once again now you're the hero that was a sad day 56 yarder that would have went through would have went through and i'm sitting on the sideline like i don't know what proper protocol is here got some points here like do i walk up and say hey i can let's not get blanked here, coach. Did you have a kicking net in high school or how'd you warm up? Yeah, we had a kicking net. Did a kicking net, I believe.
Starting point is 02:12:31 I don't think we did. I don't think we did. That's Milwaukee Pirate football. I mean, that's how they operate. Donate one. You guys are currently one and four, but this upcoming Saturday morning, Friday, when do you guys play?
Starting point is 02:12:42 Friday. Friday. We just beat Waukesha West on Friday night in overtime. It was great. I don't know. It was a shot. I didn't mean it as a shot. I missed it.
Starting point is 02:12:50 I missed it. Well, it's just Saturday morning football. We get it. Yeah. Like Friday night. Yeah. Anyways, ladies and gentlemen. No, Saturday morning is up for Burnley.
Starting point is 02:12:57 Big win yesterday. Big win over the weekend. I mean, we're top of the table. I'm getting called up soon. Second. Second right now. Saturday morning is for college game day. You guys going on the same time as College Game Day?
Starting point is 02:13:06 You have two TVs, or how are you supporting the cause? I do. I do. I do enjoy watching your segments on the College Game Day. I'm really looking forward to your time in Berkeley, California this weekend. Looking forward to seeing how you acclimate yourself out there. Should be a lot of fun. You're an asshole, JJ.
Starting point is 02:13:22 Yeah, we're good, guys. Yeah, I am excited to get out to Berkeley. Is Tone going with you? Tone Diggs? Yeah, it feels like his kind of place. I don't think A.P. Tone's making the trip. Four hours and 48 minutes out there. The hell is that, man? That's a long time.
Starting point is 02:13:38 I think he's saying... No, you like that beautiful scenery and how everything goes out there. Well, I mean, Aaron Rodgers goes, why don't you go down to Marina and check out where our lady got dumped into the bay? It's not a bad idea. Well, she was, you know, unfortunately, that's very sad. She was pregnant with a baby in her as well.
Starting point is 02:13:51 Oh, you're saying a murder with a dump into a bay is not a sad situation? Yeah. It's all bad. It's all a bad deal. I am excited to check out Top Dogs and then La Barita. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:14:01 La Barita. Blondie's Pizza. Still exists, maybe. And then there's another pizzeria that's been tweeting. Looks like an upscale pizzeria. Obviously, it's Berkeley. I don't know if my type of human is a fan of me either. I don't know if my type of human is supposed to be in Berkeley.
Starting point is 02:14:19 You're going to do just great. You're going to be great. My college roommates from that area, it's not all. I asked Rock. I asked Rock. What, it's not all. I asked Grok. I asked Grok. What, Tom? Not all. I asked Grok.
Starting point is 02:14:30 I said, Grok, what should I expect going to Berkeley? And they gave a full answer about how great they are protesting and obviously that entire thing. And then I read, like, then I start diving into it. It's like, okay, love sports. Like, big fans of sports have been waiting for something to really go and football wise have some legends from there their fans have been very active on x obviously it's like all right i'm pumped to get out there still don't still not sure i'm supposed
Starting point is 02:14:53 to be a person that's in berkeley california ever it feels like they're much smarter and better humans than i could ever imagine being but pumped to be there excited to be there beautiful 6 a.m local that thing's pitch black when we start that shoot. Yeah, you're not going to be able to see it, but it is a beautiful area as far as landscape is concerned. Four hours, 48 minutes out there. How long has Aaron said to go into London? He said
Starting point is 02:15:15 six hours. Six from New Jersey, yeah. Yeah, that's a different flight. The fact that it's only six for them from Jersey, that's not that's fine. It's not bad at all. Six hours is nothing. Us to Ireland wasn't bad. I was just going to say, it's like us to Ireland was's fine. It's not bad at all. Six hours is nothing. Us to Ireland wasn't bad. I was just going to say, it's like us to Ireland
Starting point is 02:15:27 was what, eight? Wasn't bad at all. A lot of Guinness. A lot of Guinness. We played in London. It was 10 from Arizona. It's quite a disadvantage. We played the Rams
Starting point is 02:15:39 and they, that's obviously a little further. That's a long way for Los Angeles. Starting point is 02:16:17 A Ram truck just got delivered outside. A Ram truck. Hell yeah. A 2,500 diesel Rebel Ram truck just showed up during a commercial break had no idea it was coming had no clue just talked to my man trevor who's a truck driver from mississippi he had a thing on the back of the load he backed that thing up we dropped down the ramp boom you hop in there you're talking you can hear that diesel humming i sat inside of it beautiful electronics unreal beautiful And the paint
Starting point is 02:16:46 job, they got like this matte gray into black. It is. I mean, there it is. There it is right there. Just showed up. Okay. Just showed up. Yeah. Sorry. You don't have any way to drive it. You can't drive it into the house.
Starting point is 02:17:01 If you had a garage door, you could drive it right in there to the basketball court. So we were actually, Zito just said, we could get it through the kitchen. It's like, that thing sits too high. You know, that thing's raised up a little bit. It's got good power. And obviously, I can control the steering of the, of the, of the, I fucking hit it when I was driving. Almost said it all in a minute. Whenever you're towing, I could steer the tow.
Starting point is 02:17:26 You get it. The tow tow. The thing was in four-wheel drive low. Oh, the hitch. The hitch. There it is. I could steer the hitch with it. That's nice, actually.
Starting point is 02:17:33 It was in four-wheel drive low whenever it came out, so I started driving it from the truck to put it in its parking spot, and it was like real low. I'm like, this thing's fucking broken. And then I find the point. It's like, you want to get a two-wheel drive? I'm a four-wheel drive high. It's like so many options all of a sudden. And that diesel,
Starting point is 02:17:46 that's my first time owning a diesel. You can feel that thing. And if you can feel it. You can chase it. There you go. And I'm going to be chasing that happiness for a long time.
Starting point is 02:17:56 That car just showing up, or that truck just showing up out of nowhere. It'll be a nice Thunderdome truck. Boys will enjoy it all. I don't know how, how, you know,
Starting point is 02:18:07 downtown might be not like the perfect place for it, you know, because of the size of that thing, but Ram truck's got all the options. It can go anywhere. I mean, if anything, we should just fill up the back with, you know, some water, maybe make it a pool. I'm kind of taking back, yeah. Legitimately not a bad idea.
Starting point is 02:18:18 It's a beautiful truck. A little white trash pool is the back of a pickup truck. Not a bad idea. It won't drain out the back anywhere. There's probably no hole. Yeah, you've got to put a tarp in it first. What are you talking about? You fucking assholes. this isn't our first truck what the hell what do you think this is this is your first rodeo we know some guy who's never been in the back of a truck bull yeah exactly right nonetheless hey Ram trucks we appreciate it man that was a cool surprise I think looks yeah good looking truck great old buddy truck driver he's
Starting point is 02:18:44 character yes as soon as you said Mississippi truck driver. He's a character. Yeah, he is. As soon as you said Mississippi truck driver. He was a character. Backing that thing out of the truck is pretty tight. You know, it's a big truck. He was like, I got an extra set of eyes back here, a little help. You got it, bud. We got you. He was very worried.
Starting point is 02:18:57 He was very precautious. The mirrors were folded in, so he couldn't use them. Mirrors completely folded in. I don't know if the camera was able to get a good back. We got that thing off there perfectly. Ram trucks, we appreciate the shit out of you. Okay, let's move along. Speaking of ram trucks, who are the best that were ramming and trucking people for NFL week four of the NFL season?
Starting point is 02:19:16 Well, there's only one person that we like to go to. There's only one person whose ideas and opinions carry the weight of the world. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to go in the trenches with the top five performing offensive lines with A.Q. Shepard. I love that. That was awesome. 49ers. We're going to start with them at number five, boys.
Starting point is 02:19:37 Okay, let me open the eyes. And why are we going to start with the 49ers? Because, well, let's just watch the clip first. Let's watch the clip. And we might have some numbers. We might have some numbers on this guy. Let's watch Trent Williams. Yeah, let's do it. And we might have some numbers. We might have some numbers on this guy. Let's watch Trent Williams. Probably the best of this generation.
Starting point is 02:19:48 Maybe one of the best of all time. Maybe the best of all time left back. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let's watch a crack toss first. Watch Jawan Jennings, who's not only their best blocking receiver, he is their best receiver right now. Crack right here from four yards away on 95. Get this whole thing started.
Starting point is 02:20:02 Boom. There it is. Now watch Trent run around this thing. He's got to get around all the trash, all the trash. Get this whole thing started. Boom. There it is. Now watch Trent run around this thing. He's got to get around all the trash. All the trash. Get him around the trash. And then when he does that, let's just lead him down to the Valley of Paradise as Mason runs for 30, ends
Starting point is 02:20:15 the game, and he is the lead blocker running at 20 miles an hour. 37, fourth quarter. Could be wrong. 117 left. First down here. here ends the game. This is a game-winning play. And you talk about him going 20 miles an hour. We did try to look up what his speed was because if you look whenever he gets downfield here,
Starting point is 02:20:34 he's how tall? He's about 6'5", list weight 320. It's more accurately probably closer to 360, let's be honest. Okay, 350, 360. Look at him getting around the edge and look at him lead blocking with speed, this guy. 6'5", 360, most athletic guy on the field is what people say. And he's running back. Mason's running in between 15 to 20 miles an hour.
Starting point is 02:20:53 His particular tracker had him going. So that means that Trent had to be going 15 to 20 miles an hour right there. On a pull, fourth quarter, could be tired, end of it all, flying around. What a stud. Good for the Niners' offensive line. Number five performing offensive line. Real quick before we get there, to put that in perspective, Marvin Harrison Jr., top speed of 17 miles an hour.
Starting point is 02:21:16 I think Trent was higher. I think Trent was higher. Wow. Just saying. Alright, let's go on to the next one. Minnesota Vikings. Did you start both of these? Did you say the Paradise Valley of Paradise is where he was running? Yeah. Taking right to Paradise Valley. Oh!
Starting point is 02:21:29 There we are. Minnesota Vikings, number four. Minnesota Vikings, number four. Listen, they have been doing an unbelievable job in pass blocking, but the big difference this year is they're running the shit out of the football. They got Aaron Jones, which has been a big, big, big offseason signing. Christian Derusaw gets the whole thing started at left tackle. Tight end's going to motion over.
Starting point is 02:21:49 You get a little deuce outside zone to the left. Left guard gets it started with a great reach block on the three technique, which is hard. That's one of the hardest blocks in football. He gets it started. Quick reach. Hey, can you help me out here? Yep.
Starting point is 02:22:01 So this would be three technique is – Outside shoulder of the left guard as we are looking at it to our right. And that's because what? We've got one, two, and then three. One, two, three. Yep. So you start with zero on the head up on the center. Then you've got a shade on each shoulder of the center as a one.
Starting point is 02:22:16 Inside shoulder of the guard is a two I. Head up on the guard. All even numbers are head up, basically, for the most part. Two technique down the middle of the guard. Three technique outside shoulder. Four eye inside shoulder of the tackle. Yeah, and we just keep going. We don't have enough numbers to be able to keep it up.
Starting point is 02:22:33 But anyway. That's technology. That's it. That's the outback. But you get a great reach there. And then you get Derisaw working with the tight end as they climb off Van Ness up to the linebacker, get a nice block there. Great reach block by the center.
Starting point is 02:22:44 I mean, he doesn't get touched. He doesn't get touched for 10, 12 yards. I think Aaron Jones at 90 yards. I mean, he's been incredible, and Sam Darnold's looked incredible. They've been blocking the shit out of people. Has probably the best team in football right now. You like the left tackle a lot. I think if Trent Williams isn't in the conversation, he's the best left tackle.
Starting point is 02:23:01 He's obviously in that 2-3 category. It's him, Tunsell. I mean, he's one of the best young players in football and he's about to get cool so much a lot of money for a long time all right good for him congrats him congrats to the vikings number four performing offensive line of nfl week four who's number three team the washington commander wow whoa hey they go into the desert, and they went inside. They went outside. They went inside and outside. They did whatever they wanted.
Starting point is 02:23:27 They did whatever they wanted running the football, and they threw the shit out of the football. But on this particular play, they come out in a nickel defense. You've got tight end wing into the boundary. I don't think it's the best decision. It's tight end wing. You typically get a base defense, but they come out in nickel, and you get your best defensive player, Buda Baker,
Starting point is 02:23:43 running a free safety blitz off the backside. He gets just a little bit of hesitation right there because Jaden Daniels is the quarterback. Just that little bit of hesitation. Make sure that he doesn't run down from the backside. You get both guards pulling. You get a hell of a deuce block on the front – or a trade block on the front side between Tackle and Titan.
Starting point is 02:23:59 Watch them move him 10 yards downfield into the linebacker. And then he goes untouched 29 yards for a touchdown for the most part d butts i gotta ask you um since there was the other guy outside of buddha outside contain he shouldn't have hesitated at all right looks like buddha gotta go and chase that down from from the looks of you got another pressure another rusher from the outside that out most outside rusher has the edge and a quarterback typically can't take instincts away from people though and the fact that there's a lamar jacks and a jayden daniels out running threat at quarterback makes that slight hesitation and that is everything from keeping him just outside right there mcnichols
Starting point is 02:24:36 third string two with eckler out he had two tuds look at 63 straining right here man oh yeah beaudish had an incredible game he had two or three knockdowns in this game. He reached the shit out of the nose. Is he a cowboy? Former cowboy. Came with Dan Quinn. Yep. All right. Who's the number two performing offensive line of NFL Week 4?
Starting point is 02:24:53 We got the Detroit Lions. We got two. Yeah, Foxy. They look incredible again. They got back to doing what they do. And we got two plays. Same exact play. Little different look, but it's the duo play.
Starting point is 02:25:04 We get two double teams at the point of attack tackle guard deuce center and backside guard normally do a lot of teams are getting more into this because it makes the nose guard think of doubles coming you just ride them up the field backside guard climbs on number 48 on the backside but check out the deuce block on jaron reed number 90 as you see it he just turns and he doesn't know what to do climbs up to zero check out the two tight ends working 58 to 21. Great job by Brock Wright straining and Laporta getting the outside. And is this about as easy as a run as you've seen?
Starting point is 02:25:33 That is a big gaping hole. I mean, he's flying. What do you do? It's well blocked. What do you do? I mean, that's as well blocked as you can get in the NFL. Doesn't happen. You're going to see on the next play, you're going to see on the next play,
Starting point is 02:25:49 they block it the exact same way, and it's a little gaping hole, and they still find a way through. Same exact play, but watch the difference. The difference between the two plays last time, so if you go back to the beginning, last time they just combo blocked it between the tight ends. Now they do a fold block. Watch Brock Wright block out on the defensive end.
Starting point is 02:26:04 Watch Laporta loop around and pick up the inside threat on number two or the safety, number eight, whoever climbs in there. That's his job. See the little fold block there? But we get the deuce block. And then this is awesome, too. If you go back just a little bit, check out Zeitler, the right guard. This is what you call transition double team.
Starting point is 02:26:18 You're starting deuce. He's starting a deuce block with the tackle, but he notices his gap is the A gap. So as the nose loops across the center's face, transition, deuce to ace, and then they wall it off, and there's a little gaping hole as Montgomery sneaks through there. They lost their center, right? Ragnall was out? Ragnall was out.
Starting point is 02:26:35 They moved Glasgow, the left guard, into center and moved Skip. No, it wasn't Skip. Skip stayed as the sixth man, but this guy started the NFC Championship last year due to injury as well. So they got a lot of faith. They got a lot of depth on the offensive line, and they are rolling. Absolutely. Look at you guys, Foxy.
Starting point is 02:26:55 Yeah, I'm counting for sure. That's three times that the Lions have been on AQ's top five. I think they're going to have the record at the end of this thing. I'm definitely counting. They are, in my opinion. Them and the Ravens are the top two. Boom! Guess who's number one this week?
Starting point is 02:27:07 The Baltimore Ravens. Wow. You got two awesome plays. And, again, they get back to doing what they're doing. We talked about it early in the season. They were not using Patrick Ricard. And they, over the last two weeks, have been a heavy dose of Patrick Ricard. This first play you get at the front.
Starting point is 02:27:21 Hold on. What'd they do with the offense line? Did they move some people? Yep. So they got Patrick McCurry, who first play you get at the front. Hold on. What'd they do with the offense line? Did they move some people? Yep. So they got Patrick McCarr, who's normally the tackle on the right side. They moved him to left guard due to an injury to Voorhees.
Starting point is 02:27:32 Voorhees out with an ankle injury. And you move Rosengarden, the early draft pick out of the University of Washington, and a right tackle. And he did a hell of a job. Hell of a job. But on this first play, we get a little toss play. Let's get Ricard out in space on a DB. Don't want it.
Starting point is 02:27:46 Do you want a DB? Never. Never want it. But he's just going to climb. Now watch Derrick Henry set this block up inside, get him on his inside shoulder, back outside, and it screws up DeMar Hamlin's angle, right? But let's watch. If we can circle furthest lineman downfield.
Starting point is 02:28:00 Let's go back just a tad. That's Tyler Linderbaum, the center. Watch this little club chop that he does. I mean, it's like a fucking tomahawk to the guy's shoulder and puts him on the ground at the end of this. Watch this. Boom. Puts him on the ground.
Starting point is 02:28:12 Get on the ground. How awesome is that, AJ? You guys are scumbags. Man, it's got to be illegal somehow. A chop? A chop to the arm? To the back of his shoulder. That's awesome.
Starting point is 02:28:23 That was awesome. It's unbelievable. How did he get down there so fast of his shoulder. That's awesome. That was awesome. It's unbelievable. How did he get down there so fast? Come on. That's incredible, right? Moving. The power in that chop. That's Iowa.
Starting point is 02:28:32 Look at him. First of all, typically most guys are getting picked off by this. You get the three-tech slant. It doesn't even fucking phase him. He just sneaks through it. Get thin. Get thin. Get thin.
Starting point is 02:28:41 Get thin. Get thin. Get up and still gets frontside on him. Now he starts to get over the top. No, drop him down. Jeez. That's awesome. What a move. Ty would love that if he was here. That's an Iowa Hawkeye. Yeah, it certainly is. Let's go to another Ravens run.
Starting point is 02:28:55 This play is super well blocked. Just stop it real quick. Okay, so as we see this, this is called a wham. I see a lot of people on the internet calling this a trap. Let me give you a little reason why this is a wham. A wham is anytime you use a tight end or a fullback from outside trapping in. A trap play is when you use a down guy, a guard, or a tackle coming across the formation and trapping somebody out. So this play is supposed to hit between tackle and 42 record coming and whamming the three technique. But what they do is it's an influence wham. So if you watch
Starting point is 02:29:23 this, you're going to get the right guard pulling behind the center, the left guard pulling behind. Center and left tackle now go through to the linebackers. And so there's a lot of eye candy for the linebackers. Like, oh, shit, I see puller. I got to hesitate, which allows center left tackle to climb on the linebackers because it hesitates them. Now you get the wham on 42 right there from Ricard.
Starting point is 02:29:44 Boom. Rose and Garden does a nice job kicking out. Now check out the block that springs this as Mark Andrews getting a beautiful angle outside in. And this hits between 42-70 and then outside it, Mark Andrews at the second level. Boom. Shitty angle by 31, right? See ya.
Starting point is 02:29:59 Yeah, it's a crack place. You gotta be there. Gotta show up. But as a run game, you wanna make the corners, make the run fit, and tackle. Man, this is chaos. Chaos. Absolute chaos. Isn't it awesome? Why off?
Starting point is 02:30:10 Really, really good scheme and 87 yards to the house. First play of the game. Demoralizing. We just won the game. As soon as the guard pulled, Ed Oliver knew it was coming. Oh, yeah. As soon as he saw it. But, again, the first two steps, he reads the puller.
Starting point is 02:30:24 So that's what gets him inside, and then his eyes go outside. He's like, shit, it's already too late. Boom. That's why it's an influence. Influence, yeah, it's all influence. And you're starting to see this a lot more. Actually, I was kind of blown away. The Colts ran an influence trap on Cam Hayward,
Starting point is 02:30:41 which was a bad decision, but it actually worked. Bad decision, but it worked. Why are you so process-driven? Results worked. Results worked. I agree. But you typically trap guys on the inside that are up-the-field guys. That's the whole reason.
Starting point is 02:30:56 Cam Hayward's not enough. He's a read guy. So he was sitting there reading, and he's like, oh. They did a great job on it. But anyways, Ravens, number one offensive line of the week. Congrats to four out of the top five for returning. Coming back. To the top performing offensive lines.
Starting point is 02:31:09 And if you have a good offensive line, you're going to have a good team. Can I make one more point here? Sure. What do we notice about this group? All five of them, for the most part. Four of the five, minus the commanders. Four of the five use heavy dose of fullback. Hmm.
Starting point is 02:31:22 Use heavy dose of fullback. CJ Hamm, Juice, Kyle Juszczyk, and Patrick Ricard, three of the best fullbacks in the game. Probably the three best fullbacks in the game. Old school football is coming back, huh? I mean, it's constant cover two. People don't realize this, but cover two, when you have a run pass check, the minute the quarterback sees cover two, check run. Because there's less people in the box.
Starting point is 02:31:46 Less people in the box. So you got to run your way through these people doing cover two. Mel Kuyper says, let's get rid of it. Let's get rid of it. It might be boring. It might be less points. It might be less flashy.
Starting point is 02:31:56 But boy, that was some exciting shit, wasn't it, boys? Okay, and watching bodies hit the floor. That's right. Thank you, A. Cush. Another incredible in the trenches top five. That has been a fun thing this year. The top five in the trenches, Seg. I enjoy it.
Starting point is 02:32:12 Four of the top five remain the same. We need to – hey, boys, let's sign up. Where are the Colts? Where are the Colts? They got the highest grade. They were sixth last week. Remember what he said? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:32:22 I thought, to be quite honest with you, I thought the Colts offensive line got their asses kicked up front this past week. I did. I really did. I don't know what you want me to tell you. They started a rookie at center who was on the ground against, what's his name? Benton? Keanu Benton. Yeah, there you go. Benton gave the rookie center a little. He barely
Starting point is 02:32:38 survived that game. No, Ryan Kelly, obviously that's going to be a big deal. That was a big one. That's a big deal. So how are you going to put them in? It's the whole group. We beat the Steelers. They didn't do anything. They didn't get one single. It was good. Cam Hayward and Quentin Nelson.
Starting point is 02:32:54 Tough matchup, boys. Tough matchup. You're wrong. You're full of shit. Colts won. Steelers zero. Hey, good win, Colts. Good win, Colts.
Starting point is 02:33:01 That's even more impressive. They got their ass beat and got the win. Yeah, Joe Flack. He's back. That's what he does. Yeah, he floats around and got the win. Yeah, Joe Flack. Yeah. He's back. That's what he does. Yeah, he floats around in the pocket. Doesn't need the offensive line to be top five, even though they already are, and you're just a hating asshole.
Starting point is 02:33:11 Footsteps. Ladies and gentlemen, in the trenches, top five. Good job, A. Kusch. All right, A. Kusch, feels like you're really feeling it. How about a giveaway today? How about a giveaway? All right, I need to make one. Last week was pathetic.
Starting point is 02:33:22 What do you want to do? You're throwing footballs again? Of course. Wow. Of course. Hey, did you hear about what happened in 33 the other day? I did not, but what I did hear yesterday was reigning undisputed 33 champs, which means you guys are back. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:33:37 You guys are back, all the way back? Yeah, and they'll tell you about me. Pat went 10 for 10. Historic performance. You went 10 for 10? Oh, yeah. Don't be so fucking... You were on it last year, but the first couple weeks of the season, that thing hasn't looked so big for you. Been doing a lot
Starting point is 02:33:52 of upper body workouts, a lot of arm exercising. My shot was broken there for a while. I'll tell you what. I think it's been found. I mean, Foxy's good from anywhere at this point. It was unbelievable. Great shot, by the way, Foxy. Thank you. Needed that one. Yeah, yesterday was awesome. Yeah, it was a good one. Our team's hot right now. Our team's hot right now. And I think my shot
Starting point is 02:34:08 is here to stay. I shot some yesterday. I was going to never shoot a basketball again after I went 10 for 10 and didn't hit the rim. That was it? That was it. Yesterday I had to see a heat check. Certainly missed a couple. But also, some real splashes happening. I like to hear that. All of a sudden we're getting
Starting point is 02:34:23 the sound that D-Butch is getting whenever he's shooting that pop at the bottom of the net. I've never had that in my life. I think I've always had the wrong trajectory, seemingly. Boy, we are splashing it around here in the Thunderdome. Good luck today to you. My day's coming. I promise. It's coming. It's here.
Starting point is 02:34:41 Today might be the day. But with that being said, coming into a buzzsaw. Look out. This might be the worst I've shot that being said, coming into a buzz. Look out. This might be the worst I've shot in the last couple years. I mean, I've been bad so far. Yeah, but today's the day. Today's the day. Today's the day.
Starting point is 02:34:52 You and Bone. Yeah, D-Bone. I mean, D-Bone just met the champ, so. Oh, boy. He's rocked up. Yeah, he is. He stays rocked up. It won't come down.
Starting point is 02:35:04 It won't come down. It won't come down. Rocked up because Cody Rhodes. He came to town. All right. Zipper won't let it out. Was that a remix of the song? No. No.
Starting point is 02:35:17 Different song. I made that song on myself, that beat and everything. Yeah. A.Q. Shipley, if you put that football in that hoop right over there. It's Acorn. I haven't heard his name. I've been reading a lot of internet. It's probably a good thing. Probably a good thing you haven't heard his name, right? We'll see.
Starting point is 02:35:32 120. Busby's back. Yeah, I've seen a lot of names that won't come out. Busby's back. Busby is back. AQ Shipley. Have they got a deal done with the ports yet? Do we know since the show? I don't think so. No. They need to do that gonna ask him thanksgiving thanksgiving yeah it's gonna take some time don't say that don't say that christmas is canceled he's gonna take some time deal's gonna
Starting point is 02:35:55 get done allegedly there was already some negotiations taking place so hopefully that's a sign of doors being open and things taking yeah because i think we're all gonna learn quickly about this whole thing that's basically what we're being told. And it's like, hey, I know everybody is seemingly bad here, blame here. Let's get it done. Okay? Quick. Let's get it done. When my guys hit the street, 55,000 main to Texas Great Lakes,
Starting point is 02:36:22 no cars, no wood, no steel, no nothing. no nothing what are you gonna do that's a great question i didn't know you guys had all this power i think we're all learning that right now yeah let's figure that out and on that note let's get 30 winners yesterday foxy drops one in a bucket 30 people win 500 winner wednesday on this beautiful what wednesday there's gonna be names announced for winners. I assume it already happened. Yes, it did. People getting $500 going into the beautiful Halloween holiday season.
Starting point is 02:36:51 Football season is the greatest. Why don't you make 30 more people happy, AQ? Why don't you put that football in that hoop right over there? Ladies and gentlemen, out of Penn State, A. Nittany Lyon. Wearing his Sunday red. Not bad. How much was it, AQ? How much was that sweatshirt?
Starting point is 02:37:10 $900. I figured that. $900, got it on cheap. Tiger needs it. Does it give you a back massage while you're doing the thing? Does it warm you up? I wore it in the hotel last night. I wore it in the hotel last night. You wore it in the hotel last night?
Starting point is 02:37:29 Wow. So it was worth it. What's that mean? You're not kidding. What? What do I do? What's that? Oh, you were just cranking your hog.
Starting point is 02:37:39 Just yanking that thing with the sweatshirt. Just the hoodie on. Shirt cocking it like Boston. What do you got? Sun, day, red, lotion as well? I mean, it's just. I got everything. with the sweatshirt shirt cocking it what do you got sun day red lotion as well I got everything I ordered everything one of everything please
Starting point is 02:37:52 I'll wear it while I beat the shit out of my penis ladies and gentlemen AQ Shipley 30 people right there what do I do at hotels you know what I do. You know how this goes.
Starting point is 02:38:08 Me. My me. Good times. Alone. Stupid. Don't knock on AQ's door. Why is that? Well, he's in the middle of it with himself right now.
Starting point is 02:38:17 What is it? Well, it's more so his right hand versus tummy stick. Come back tomorrow. Don't want a pillow? Wait, wait, wait. Might need a bandage, though, with how this one's going. 30 people. That one goes in.
Starting point is 02:38:34 We have the best lead into the history of a... D-Butch actually has something to say to you, AQ, to get you inspired to go ahead and drain this for 30 people. You know what, AQ? Just let it rip. Just step up, let it rip, just like last night. That's right. Let it rip.
Starting point is 02:38:50 Bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, bop. Oh, jeez. His baloney is sore, but his arm is good. Arm might be tired. Buster Connor has something to say to you. Think about the people who inspire you.
Starting point is 02:39:06 You know? Tiger. Lisa Ann. Do it for them. Sleepy Joe. Do it for them. 30 people, $500. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 02:39:20 Oh! Close. Almost. God damn it. What's got him over, huh? What if that would have went in? That would have been a good one. AJ has something to say to you.
Starting point is 02:39:29 I'm sure it's going to be just as equally toxic. AQ, did you enjoy the debate last night, the vice presidential debate? Okay, okay, okay. All right. Teasing peas. I felt real good about it. I felt real good about it. All right.
Starting point is 02:39:41 Really? AQ Shipley here. I watched the Slam Diego Padres. Hell yeah. Go absolutely bonkers. Great game. Fernando Tatis Jr. Does he always swing that hard?
Starting point is 02:39:54 Yeah. Did you hear this pop from the soundbite? Hey, why don't we run this real quick? This will be the thing that will inspire AQ Shipley. MLB baseball matters right now. It's the playoffs. They say, you know, Philly has an incredible atmosphere. We will watch those games.
Starting point is 02:40:07 Big fan of Bryce Harper. We hope they do great. And yesterday, Carl Ravitch said, hey, this San Diego place, insane. Fernando Tatis Jr., first pitch he sees, he does this. Into left. Here's Fernando Tatis. He switches one high and deep to left. He's watching. So are 44,000 others. Here's Fernando Tatis He looks like a tank how big is he to show the replay of the swing his swing is awesome yeah i mean that contact sounded like a gunshot
Starting point is 02:40:45 it was so loud clean showman goodwood 632 20. damn 632 20 first pitch he sees in the playoffs takes it yeah here's the umpire cam gone takes his helmet off or upside down Takes his helmet off for upside down. Jeez. How sick is that? The gum chew. This is my shoe. That's awesome.
Starting point is 02:41:15 Playoff baseball is all the way back. On that note, AQ, why don't you put that football into that hoop right over there. 30 people, $500. Oh, my God. Jeez Louise. Right on line. Fernando. No,, $500. Oh, my God. Right on line. No, it wasn't. Wow, for my ankle. It wasn't.
Starting point is 02:41:34 It was never online. Yeah. Hey, AQ. Ba-da-ba. Ba-da-bo. Ba-da-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-bo. Ba-da-bo. Ba-da-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba- Whoa! 30 people, $500. A.Q. Shipley put the ball in the hoop for the American Nightmare. Oh, A.Q. That would have been the best one you'd ever get in your life. Shoot a basketball.
Starting point is 02:42:11 Shoot a basketball. I agree, AJ. You ruined it. I mean, you averaged like 30 a game in high school. I know that. Think a putt. You got a tiger. Mark Caboli said that he covered A.Q. Shipley at Moon Township when he was in high school.
Starting point is 02:42:23 He would inevitably be a Hall of Fame high school basketball player. That's for shoot, brother, state champion basketball player. Mark Bowie said he only shot four-foot shots. So, he doesn't know how he could potentially put this in from the stage, but I think A.Q.'s an athlete. I think him standing here this long, can he hit it and keep it going or no? No. Let inertia kind of end it.
Starting point is 02:42:44 How many points is a four-foot shot worth? Somewhere two. Is that right? Ask Cabali how many points he watched me score in high school. A lot of fucking points. How many? I mean, I scored a lot of points. Ran a lot of people over.
Starting point is 02:43:01 Took a lot of charges. What? A lot of rebounds. What? State champ. What? You're in Hall of Fame now for high a lot of charges. What? A lot of rebounds. What? State champ. What? You're in Hall of Fame now for high school basketball.
Starting point is 02:43:08 You took charges? You didn't... I would assume you gave a lot of charges. Did a little bit of both. He had sweet feet in the paint. I couldn't block. Tricked shots.
Starting point is 02:43:15 He was a D-lineman. Right? Weren't you a D-lineman? D-lineman. Quick feet. In the paint. Then he was able to get sweet with it.
Starting point is 02:43:23 You know, he had a little step-back thing, and then if you didn't like your step-back, oh, he's going up under with it. And then he's letting you know about it because he's got a barbed wire tattoo on his arm. Drop step. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is a journalist that covered A.Q. Shipley in high
Starting point is 02:43:37 school, Mark Caboli. Caboli! Hey, Mark! How you doing, Mark? I was just in the media room and I was kind of shocked by the call. Oh, Mark? I was just in the media room, and I was kind of shocked by the call, but I can adapt. I can adapt on the clock. Hey, we appreciate you doing that. We understand that whatever you write is going to be worth reading.
Starting point is 02:43:54 You're doing fantastic on X. We appreciate you. Your WWE recaps have been amazing. AQ Shipley, he's about to shoot a basketball shot from this stage into that hoop over there. If he makes it, 30 people will win $500. We've heard from journalists that saw him play high school basketball, he only shot four foot shots.
Starting point is 02:44:12 Is that accurate, Mark? Four, four and a half. I just do remember he used to wear extremely tight tank tops, and his arms were just bulging out of it. He may or may not have had some arm hair at that time, but I'm not saying anything about that. But I don't know. I think that AQ can maybe drain it. Oh, yay.
Starting point is 02:44:42 Hey, how many points did AQ Shipley score in high school basketball? Do you have that off the top of your head? Probably about 20. 20? A game? 20 a game. No, 20 total. Oh!
Starting point is 02:44:53 Suck it, A.Q. Oh, look at him. He's a big player. He likes that one. And he probably fouled out about 25 times. Oh! More foul after. Journalistic standards.
Starting point is 02:45:06 What is that all about? That was according to sources. Yeah, of course. Sources. Cabola, you hearing Devonta and the Steelers at all? Not necessarily from anybody reputable yet, but I'm sure they're interested. And, you know,
Starting point is 02:45:25 they're serious about winning, man. They're number one in the AFC North. They're third in the AFC right now. Go get him, man. Who cares about next year? Go get him. That's what I say. Hey, Mark, you keep going and get it. We appreciate you.
Starting point is 02:45:41 Ladies and gentlemen, Mark Boyd. So it's all for gays you didn't do in high school just like i said it was 20 points i didn't i didn't see any did you see him score for moon at all i didn't i didn't see a single point i was i was in pittsburgh i didn't see you fraud hey i think all the favor i'm not believe that come on they put anybody in the hall of fame he's dead especially he he went to penn state he's basically a child of the city at this point. He's looking to put up his highlights.
Starting point is 02:46:06 He's calling someone. Who are you calling? FaceTime with high school basketball coach. He's probably teaching. Is he a teacher? What does he do? He's in the Hall of Fame, too. Yeah, Jim.
Starting point is 02:46:15 It's 3 o'clock, though. Who the fuck is this guy? This guy scored 20 points, 25 foul outs. Hey, coach. You're live. I have no live. Tell him he's live. Tell him there's people watching.
Starting point is 02:46:24 Coach, we're live. We're live on McAfee's show right now. Tell him he's live. We're live. We're live on McAfee's show right now. Tell him how many points I scored in high school basketball. These guys don't believe I was any good. Oh, AQ was amazing in high school. I tell you a quick little story about AQ.
Starting point is 02:46:40 Absolutely. Turn it around. Is it FaceTime? No, he's on a football. After the football season, they were in the playoffs. They went real long. So he comes into basketball. We already have our first scrimmage. We're scrimmaging the Storocks.
Starting point is 02:46:56 Very good team. We ended up going to the state championship game that year. Adam to Michael, all these really good players. Loose ball down the court. AQ right from football. Chases down. Beats the kid to the loose ball. Does a spin move around
Starting point is 02:47:14 the kid. One dribble. Lays it in off the backboard, I said. He's a sophomore in high school. That's two points there. How many more did he have? Did he have a lot? Was he a scorer? Was he a lockdown defender? How would you describe his game? I don't know if Q has a lockdown
Starting point is 02:47:29 defender body. Fair. Why not? 6'1", 280 is probably not a great lockdown defender body, but he could guard any big. He could move. He could catch.
Starting point is 02:47:45 He could finish. He wanted catch. He could finish. He wanted to make a three really bad. I don't know if he did or not. Three-year starter. But a lot of points, right? I would say, I don't know exactly off the top of my head. It's been 20 years ago, but I would say he averaged probably 10 to 12, 14 points a game. He's a three-year starter for us.
Starting point is 02:48:09 Let's go. All right. Thank you, Coach. Listen, his sophomore year, we were 14 and 10. That was my first year. His junior year, we were 20 and 9. His senior year, we were 28-3 and won the state championship and the first Wibble Championship in moon history.
Starting point is 02:48:31 Wow. The Norman and Wibble. Thank you, Coach. Congrats, Coach. Put him on the map. Jeez, Luis. Team got better as you got better, pal. That's right.
Starting point is 02:48:40 Caboli's really singing a different tune. He ever share a hotel with you? He knows. That coach knows really singing a different tune. He ever share a hotel with you? He knows. That coach knows. 30 people, five. All right, after all that, worst shot we've ever had. That wasn't real. That wasn't real, no way.
Starting point is 02:48:56 Yeah, why'd he do that? Can we get a replay on that? Your little feet. Why'd you go? What are you doing? Whoa. Oh. That was online.
Starting point is 02:49:04 That wasn't bad, but your little feet ski thing. My feet ski. I don't know what you're doing. You're doing a little kick of your toes. Kicking your heels to your ass. He's too athletic. Let me switch it up. Oh, here it is. Here it is. Look at you. This is what you look like.
Starting point is 02:49:18 Did you see what you did? Your little feet kick up. Look at your little toes. Your little cane footwork. I get real nervous. I'm going to go off the edge. I have a little feet kick up. Look at your little toes. Your little cane footwork. I get real nervous. I'm going to go off the edge. Have a little spatial awareness. You know how to do it.
Starting point is 02:49:30 That first shot made me the worst shot in the history. Ever. All right, you're going this way. 38 people. Way better. That was close. That was it. That was it there.
Starting point is 02:49:42 30. Evan Fox actually has something to say to you. He made a shot yesterday. Yeah, AQ, I've been watching you for quite some time all season now, and you're an offensive lineman. You know what offensive linemen rely on? Their fundamentals. All right, your fundamentals are trash right now.
Starting point is 02:50:00 When you're throwing that football, you're nonchalant, swinging your leg around, and when you're throwing that basketball up there you're all loosey goosey fading away I need you to get in fundamentals and you need to launch that ball into the hole lock in aq stop making a big joke out of it 30 people winning 500 bucks why don't you do it for the people ship shape tip top drip drop a to ship All right, tip-top, drip-drop, AQ Shipley. Let's go. On the metal.
Starting point is 02:50:30 Coach Foxy. 30 people, $500. That man right there, basketball hall of famer in western Pennsylvania. Wow. He's a shit caballi. And shout out to your coach. He won't. He won't.
Starting point is 02:50:47 He probably won't. He definitely won't. That man right there would go on to win 30 people $500 because he put a ball into a hoop, and we appreciate it for that. All right. Be a friend. Tell a friend something nice. It might change their life.
Starting point is 02:51:01 Remember, there's a QR code in the first hour to register for the pre-sale for the Royal Rumble, which is coming here to Indianapolis. Pre-sale starts November 15th. That's going to be sold out here at Lucas Oil Stadium. People are very excited about it here, but obviously Indianapolis has highways to every city, basically, in the area.
Starting point is 02:51:20 So it's going to be a massive party celebration. There's some people that were left off that poster that aren't happy about it, but that's what the Royal Rumble is, baby. The psychopath? It's a – there is a – He's a warrior. A Scottish warrior who had quite a question about why you sent me to Indianapolis
Starting point is 02:51:37 to promote the thing and then not even put me on a poster. What's that all about? There's a lot of people in the Royal Rumble that are on the poster, and that's part of the Royal Rumble. Royal Rumble, you never know who's going to show up. Could be stars of yesterday. Could be stars of tomorrow. Could be a big-ass name that you haven't seen in a while.
Starting point is 02:51:52 That's Royal Rumble difference, and that's why it's such a magical event. It'll happen in Indianapolis then. Also, remember, Dude Wipes has the Dunkin' Spice available now at Target because people are drinking Pumpkin Spice coffee, and that means Pumpkin Spice dumps. That means you need to fight fire with fire. The pumpkin spice dude wipes do that, and it smells delightful after a nice big coffee shit as the weather starts to turn a little bit.
Starting point is 02:52:16 Shot the Ram trucks dropping off that truck. Shot the Pizza Hut. Can't wait to eat that tomorrow. Life is good right now. Good old days. We're in them. Beautiful fall weather. Beautiful fall weather.
Starting point is 02:52:29 I was at football practice last night. It's like 72, kind of windy, like Halloween trick-or-treat type weather. And I was like, boys, look around. We've arrived. This is it. This is it. There's a little chill this morning right now. It feels pretty good.
Starting point is 02:52:42 It is like a perfect fall day. And then there's videos that... You know, because Halloween's right around the corner. Come on. We did it. I put all my huge skeletons out in the yard this weekend. It's time, baby. Clean out your closets.
Starting point is 02:52:58 Good move. That's what you're talking about? No, no. No, like the 12-foot skeletons. I got three of them in the front yard. Absolutely. Good fall cleaning, though. Not a bad idea as well. Be a friend. Tell a friend something nice. It might change your life. Good work in the back, boys.
Starting point is 02:53:12 Big shout-out to Cody Rhodes stopping by. Shout-out to JJ Watt. Shout-out to all of you for allowing us to do this for a living. Hey, Q's, good work. Good win. Great work.
