Hello beautiful people and welcome to our Humble Abode, the Thunderdome.
On this Aaron Rodgers Tuesday, November 12th, 2024, this program starts now.
Football!
It's amazing and congrats to the Dolphins. Big win last night on Monday Night Football.
They moved to 3-6. They get a massive win over the Rams.
And don't look now with Tua back at quarterback.
That offense is able to move. The defense is able to get some stops and in a big spot. 3-6, they get a massive win over the Rams. And don't look now with Tua back at quarterback.
That offense is able to move.
The defense is able to get some stops.
And in a big spot on Monday night in Los Angeles,
the Miami Dolphins come out victorious on a wonderful Monday night football matchup for a quick take on that.
Let's go to one half of the hammer.
Died.
Cowboys, Bubba Gumpino.
Gumpy, congrats to your Dolphins, brother.
Yeah.
3-6, Raiders and Patriots coming up at home.
Be 5-6 heading to Green Bay for Thanksgiving.
Okay, 5-6 in a couple weeks if you're able to get those wins.
You're talking about maybe a playoff spot here, Gump.
That's what it sounds like.
Got to go on a run, boys.
If not now, then we are cooked.
Defense looked unreal last night.
Who else in the AFC are you guys competing with for that seventh seed
to sneak in for the wild card? Bengals, Colts, colts and broncos oh good luck because the colts found something okay
the colts found some big news out about congrats to the dolphins that's huge life is really good
i got a chance to watch the dolphins play against colts a few weeks ago that was terrible and uh
that was very tough to watch obviously dolphins, Dolphins fans thought maybe Tua was never going to come back
and play for a bit, and they had this PTSD of like the last 100 years
of being a Dolphins fan of never being able to win,
and now all of a sudden you get a little bit of a spark.
Tyreek Hill ends up with a touchdown.
I saw Odell Beckham Jr. catch the ball, and then Larry at Tyreek Hill
after he got the touchdown, you know, had everybody moving.
Mostert got in the second half, saw two hands on the ball.
I mean, you're talking about maybe the Dolphins are able to go on a run.
Good luck to you.
You know a team that might go on a run?
Who's that?
Team that just fired our offense coordinator.
Ooh.
Yeah, sure.
Chicago Bears have officially removed Shane Waldron as the offensive coordinator
for the Chicago Bears as of this morning.
Ibra Floos spoke yesterday, and obviously he had a lot to say,
and he said Shane is our offense coordinator as of this morning. Ibraflus spoke yesterday, and obviously he had a lot to say, and he said Shane is our
offense coordinator as of now.
This morning, I guess they had more meetings, more conversations.
Shane Waldron at as the OC for the Chicago Bears.
Let's go back to this offseason when Jackson Smith and Jigba was speaking with the Chicago
Talk Show, and they asked about Shane Waldron, who obviously was the offense coordinator
for the Seattle Seahawks last year. Jackson
Smith and Jigbaugh, obviously, on the Seattle
Seahawks. So, bright question
would be, what are we getting here? Let's
take a listen. Bears fans are super interested
about the offensive coordinator coming
in, Shane Waldron. What can you tell them about who they
just hired to try to get this
offense where it needs to go?
Um...
This is live? we're not live we're not playing uh good luck to y'all
i mean he's okay all right so i mean that was literally how it started in jackson smith and
jigba was out he's right he's young rookie okay so what does he know who knows but i think what
a lot of people in seattle knew is the offense wasn't fantastic.
So then there was a lot of chatter this morning on the morning shows on ESPN
about how nobody really wanted to go in there and be the OC.
You know, Ibra Flues, how long of a leash does he have
as the Chicago Bears head coach?
You have a lot of weapons, don't have an offensive line.
Well, let's look at some of the stats we got, obviously,
about the Chicago Bears offense thus far.
Highest sack rate in the NFL, 10.7% of the dropbacks.
28th in explosive play rate, 4.2% of the plays.
23rd in success rate on first down.
And then, obviously, they've scored an NFL low 10 points in the first quarter
across 22 drives.
Now, there's a lot more stats to say that they stink.
I think we all see that.
Offense line, not fantastic.
Sacks, is that on the O-line, all of them?
Or is it on Caleb?
I think he got sacked like nine times last week.
Whatever the case is, 35 sacks total.
I mean, it is a lot of times him being tackled.
Is it because of him?
Is it because of the offense line?
Is it because of the plays?
Nobody's open.
Who knows?
But what they did know is that Shane Waldron can't be the guy in control of this offense anymore.
Let's go to nine-year NFL vet, host of everything DB, good D, bad D.
Ladies and gentlemen, Darius J. Butler is here looking very cool.
D-Butch, what are your thoughts on the move?
I think expected.
Yeah.
I think it is a good way to describe it.
But is this something that's going to turn their season around or at least the future?
I mean, we kind of saw this coming.
It's hard to say turning the future around or turning things You know turning things around even this season. You still got the same personnel
How much can the new OC Thomas Brown who was their past game coordinator?
He was previously in Carolina with Frank Wright with Bryce Young and so you get these young quarterback
Okay, I'm gonna feel good number one first and foremost
There's been some good things said from the people in the building
i know that's been around uh thomas brown big accountability guy which we obviously know we
need that but for the quarterbacks man it always starts with protection first and foremost you got
to have the protection up front some of the things i don't know what's going on in the building some
of the things are obviously on caleb williams a lot of people are saying caleb is you know
regressing he's played 10 10 games in the National Football League.
This is kind of who he is right now as a quarterback.
Obviously, we know he's talented, but you've got to have protection
so that you can actually get some use and production out of those great weapons
that they do have outside.
But off-target throws, spacing, not a bunch of defined throws and reads
for Caleb right now, so hopefully they can fix that
and see what he can really do with his talent.
Yeah, allegedly there was a couple meetings ever had by veteran players
that went and spoke to polls.
Andy Iberfluesen asked for Shane Waldron's removal.
So they said, this ain't, okay, we ain't doing this.
Done with this.
This guy.
How come whenever they put what our offense looks like on camera,
ours looks so stupid and then everybody else's looks so awesome. That's because Shane
Waldron. And then allegedly,
there was also some people saying like, hey, maybe
Tyler...
The bag man. The bag man.
The world's strongest...
Allegedly, that was a report out of
Waddle and Sylvie, which I believe is a
very legit show out of Chicago.
Right, Zito? Yep.
Been around a long time. Sylvie, Wado, and Sylvie.
Sports radio.
After talking to a few people with knowledge of the situation,
players went to Ibraflux and Ryan Polizastin
to make a change in offense coordinator.
There have also been a few veteran players requesting
that the Bajan starts.
And obviously, we watch Hard Knocks.
We got a chance to learn about Bajan, his dad,
and everything like that.
Are they asking for Bajan to start
because they think Caleb needs to just watch for a little bit?
Like, hey, we think he's been thrusted into a situation where it hasn't gone well.
He's getting his ass beat out there, sacked more than anybody else in the NFL.
We're already through one offense coordinator.
Is there a chance maybe for Caleb just to sit back and watch
and see kind of how this whole thing goes, takes a deep breath and moves forward?
Are they saying that?
Or are they saying, we don't think this guy's got it.
We would like Tyler Bajent to come in and find out if he's got it.
There's multiple different ways you can look at it because obviously there's a bunch of different situations that have happened in the past around the NFL let's just look at this year
uh Bryce Young gets benched for Andy Dalton this year gets a different perspective at it for the
first time in his life he's not the guy that's expected to do everything for a program be a
quarterback of the organization in the meetings in in practice, in the cafeteria, in the locker, everywhere.
You're a starting quarterback.
It's a different game.
He got a chance to sit back, watch it, reevaluate, take a breath.
I think he probably got a chance to take a breath.
And now he gets back in, they're winning games.
The Panthers are winning game.
All of a sudden, it's a vastly different situation.
You look at Anthony Richardson with what's going on right now with Joe Flacco.
Will he take this as a chance to take a breath and take a perspective change learn a little bit
kind of realize it's a little different game than whenever he goes back is he going to benefit from
it is that why they're pitching for him not to play or is it because they think he stinks because
there are stats that come out in any rebuttal from caleb williams or his camp would be have you seen
who's protected for him?
No offense has ever been good without a good offensive line.
But there's a lot of stats coming out that maybe, you know,
the reason why the offensive line is bad is because sometimes
he doesn't make the right decision.
And then when he doesn't make the right decision,
play's extended and he can't do as much of that shit as you did in college,
so then you're going to get sacked.
There's always going to be counter arguments in this entire thing.
But whenever you talk about off-target throws and everything like this what do you think Shane Waldron is saying today do you think Shane
Waldron is saying well I was supposed to have a guy that was supposed to be a magic man they're
calling him Patrick Mahomes he's not Patrick Mahomes or do you think he understands that him
uh was just he was just not a great offense coordinator I mean or any of the situation I
mean he's young like we we always go back, it's hard to play in the National Football League. I don't care where you're drafted, number one, 100, 150.
Like, it's tough to come in and play.
And Shane did a good job with Geno Smith.
But Geno Smith was some over the high pick.
I think the second-round pick had been around, had been a backup,
had seen things, had been in different systems,
different meeting rooms around different quarterbacks.
So when he got to Seattle and had another opportunity,
he had saw it from so many different perspectives.
So for Caleb Williams, as talented as he is in this big pedestal, high pedestal that a lot of us put him on coming into the league,
especially with the setup that they had in Chicago, we just expected more.
But it's tough to come in this league and play and play well.
We've seen flashes. I've seen enough to know, OK, he can play on this level.
He has the physical tools, not only the mobility, but the arm strength, the accuracy, all those different things.
But you just got to learn.
You got to go through some of these patches.
Same thing with Anthony Richardson.
Same thing with Bryce Young.
And then some of these guys will come out and be better on the other side.
So, you know, hopefully that's what we see here with Caleb.
You hate because we see this story so many times.
You know, quarterbacks, you know, you get to year three, year four,
and they've been through four or five different coordinators
or different voices.
So that's tough to get some continuity there. but i think the future is still bright for caleb
so caleb regardless of what happens unless old buddy comes in and just kills it and operates
the same offense that jane waldron was operating which you wouldn't because that offense was
obviously terrible so next year he's going to be on his third offense in three years yeah right
because lincoln riley usc then this one then the next. And let's say they don't figure out the offensive line
or that offense isn't great.
What are you going to have to do?
Well, he's number one overall pick, so we're going to have to make –
then he's going to be in his fourth offense in four years.
And then all of a sudden, if they do have success next year,
let's say they do have success next year,
while that offense coordinator is getting plucked, go somewhere,
he's going to be – it's like a never-ending supply of you're going to have
to adapt and get things right early.
Now, I think what one half of the hammer,
Cowboys AP Tone's face just lit up about is because this is the eighth member
of Ibra Flucer's coaching staff that has either resigned
or been fired in the last 14 months.
Oh, no.
Okay.
So, normally, whenever you're standing in the middle of a fire,
inevitably, it's going to catch up.
Of course.
You know, you can kind of get the couch that's on fire, get it out of the house.
Sure.
You can get it as a recliner, out of the house.
You can get maybe the cabinets or whatever, you can get them out.
But inevitably that thing is going to, you know, you can do this a lot
and then it's going to at some point come this way.
So I think a lot of people
in Chicago are potentially expecting head coaching change at the end of this
season and if they do that who do they go get is it a guy that maybe is no
longer the cock of the walk at the University in which he is the head coach
and knows Caleb very very well in Lincoln Riley or is it a guy who has
been an offensive coordinator in college at USC,
has been a head coach in the NFL before,
and is now leading a rookie quarterback to another historic season
in Cliff Kingsbury?
Is it Ben Johnson?
Is it Slowick?
There's a lot of opportunity out there.
But nonetheless, all of it kind of revolves around another offense
coming in next year for Caleb Williams, third and three.
Yeah, because of what you said where you talked about is the OC successful
and that OC leaves.
That's why we love Floose, but they're going to make a change.
We love Floose.
I don't think Chicago.
Yeah.
They don't make a change.
They don't.
They're sick of his beard.
And because of what you said, it has to be an offensive guy
because you can't risk bringing in a defensive head coach
and that OC then gets plucked and then Caleb's got another
OC in there and it has to be
Ben Johnson. You have to back up the track
for like offer him $20 million
a year. Who cares if it doesn't work
out, whatever, you're going to have to pay a new coach anyways.
Go get Ben Johnson and make it happen.
Zito just told me,
here's another fun fact. Zito is a Chicago Bears
fan. He said the only coach that is still
around with Ibra Felice from the beginning now
is the offensive line coach, and they're great.
Yeah.
Wow.
They're great.
That's what Zito just came.
Just another thing to think about.
The only coach that's still there is the offensive line coach.
Offensive line, obviously very shitty.
Is what Zito.
He's a Chicago Bears fan.
That's what he just said.
There it is.
I think that's how they're feeling as a whole. You win a game, though,
obviously this subsides for another week,
but if you lose and it looks
bad and people are worried about
the future being ruined, too. Because remember,
not a lot of quarterbacks have come through Chicago.
No, no. Okay, not a lot of number one overall
picks have come through Chicago.
And it's like, we finally get a guy that's
supposed to be a guy and then we're going to ruin him again?
I don't think so. That's how Bears fans are feeling right now, I think.
Yeah, but that's the thing, too.
Of course the offensive line's a problem.
They give up nine sacks.
That's terrible.
But the Patriots have, statistically, the worst or second-worst offensive line
in all of football.
I mean, they've had 11 different lineups, or 10 different lineups, I guess,
in 10 games, whatever it is.
But every Monday I come in here and I'm like,
Drake May is so good at football, no matter what.
And his whole line also, very, very terrible.
But, like, you don't get that from Caleb, I feel like.
I feel great about Drake May because he can do stuff like this
and he's making great throws all over the field.
And that's on time right there.
That's what I mean.
On time, where it's supposed to go,
throwing where only his guy could catch it.
And guys covered. Yeah. Let's still throw it and put it into, throwing where only his guy could catch it. And guys covered, let's still throw it and put it into a place
where only my guy could catch it.
It's those moments.
Yeah, in a spot.
And it's not like he's throwing to DJ Moore and Keenan Allen
and 9th overall, 10th overall, Roma Dunze, Cole Komet.
Guys who are paid at weapons.
He's throwing to Austin Hooper on a one-year deal.
K.J. Osborne, one-year deal.
Pop Douglas in his second year. I think that is another reason why Bears fans are so upset because
they've paid all these weapons. Obviously, the offensive line is not good. Also paid the running
back. I think it's more so just because of the third and five at the feet or the second and eight
sailing it over the head. That also, I feel as though just because I just watched it, you know,
and I was in the suite and I was, you know, looking left and right,
like, holy hell, this guy stinks compared to Drake, man.
Obviously he doesn't stink.
I do think, you know,
Shane Waldron 13 years ago was coaching my high school team and they went
five and three.
You know, I think that is another thing that has to be considered,
but when you're just watching.
That's an actual fact.
Hashtag stack that.
Buckingham, Brown, and Nichols.
Cambridge, Massachusetts.
You can look it up.
ISL, best league in New England.
Yeah, but Shane didn't win there.
He did not win there.
They went 5-3.
And a lot of people say that is one of the best high school football teams ever assembled.
Also completely true.
Not even kidding.
But it's the little things from Caleb.
This guy has sucked since the beginning. even kidding but the is the little things from caleb this guy is sucks it's the big game and of course i'm not saying guys you know in 10 years aren't unbelievable like kevin o'connell he
said uh on the flacko mic'd up he's like i started coaching 11 years ago and you know here you are
still playing and kevin o'connell great head coach you know definitely a qb whisperer quarterback
guru offensive genius it's just like maybe it didn't work out for Shane Walton,
and we're kind of seeing it.
But I think just blaming the O-line is tough.
Yeah, I agree.
Blaming the O-line for anything is obviously going to be difficult.
They have a hard job.
But whenever you see these stats of how many sacks it is,
it's hard not to be like, well, this guy can't be protected.
But then you watch some of the highlights, and it's like,
is that guy open right now who you're supposed to throw to?
But you're deciding to go through the entire thing?
And it's like what has been taught.
Yeah, it's shame telling him.
Yeah, and then like you said with the guy yesterday on the field goal block,
like once you have that bleeder, once you find that fish or flaw in protection
or, hey, they're having problems with this post-snap rotation,
like defensive coordinator is going to keep cooking up.
We always talk about, hey, when you have a book on a guy, that's veteran guys.
So, especially when you have a rookie and you keep putting these different
things in front of them, on money downs, play action,
all these different things.
It's like, okay, now you start seeing goals.
Things start happening fast.
Defensive coordinators start giving you, okay,
make you win with your left hand.
Like, that's tough to do.
So, you've got to have that protection.
Sometimes it's a big help for young quarterbacks to have
like a veteran in front like a jason kelsey or a guy in front of you smart that can call out all
the protections do they handle all that shit hey you you deal with reading these guys down the
field i'll deal with the protections and fronts um so it's tough it's a lot of play that's why
these guys get paid 50 60 million dollars a year yeah in the quarterback position is obviously the
one that the entire team is going to have to be built around. Have to.
Have to be built around, and I think they thought they did.
A lot of people calling for polls, too, because of all the weapons they got.
That's what I mean.
Like, we can make all these excuses.
Okay, so this is why you were looking the way you were looking.
Yeah, exactly.
Because, again, I grew up around a shitload of Bears fans.
Know a lot of Bears fans.
Like, it's been the same thing for 10 years.
Like, it's an organizational thing.
So, like, all these coaches come in, and the same thing for 10 years. Like, it's an organizational thing. So, like, all these coaches come in and the same thing happens,
but a lot of people are saying, like, hey, I'm telling them,
McCaskey family sells the team.
Like, it doesn't matter because they won't actually hire an actual football
person to come in and kind of overhaul everything.
Like, we're in the same position.
You drafted Trubisky number two overall.
You go through two coaches.
Hey, these guys can't – like, when the coaches can't make him work, and you get another one,
and then it just turns to, okay, well, the quarterback sucks.
Get him out of there.
You draft another one.
And then two coaches don't work.
Okay, these guys suck, but the quarterback sucks too.
Let's get rid of him.
And then you get Caleb, who it's like, well, this guy can't suck.
He's a generational talent, and we have all these weapons.
And to your point about the, it's like, hey,
maybe think of that in the offseason.
Maybe let's get some vets on the offensive line so we don't have to just put everything on this guy's shoulders.
So when he's in a tough division and things inevitably get hard and they're getting their ass kicked,
it's not just like, oh, we can't do this.
I mean, they should have restarted before they drafted Caleb.
I understand Ibra Floos was doing well.
They should have fired him last year, and they should have got an
offensive-minded guy and redone the whole thing.
So Dan Quinn goes to Washington. He brings
in Cliff Kingsbury, though, for Jaden Daniels.
Obviously works out very well. Gerard Mayo,
defensive coach with Drake May up
there, brings in Alex Van Pelt, who
has worked in the offense before.
Eberflus getting the top. These are all the top
three picks, obviously. Eberflus brings in
Shane Waldron. Legend. Good guy. These are all the top three picks, obviously. Ibraflues brings in Shane Waldron.
Legend.
Good guy.
He was 25th in pass protection, I think, last year for the Seattle Seahawks as well,
which obviously is something to think about.
What did you expect?
Here's some stats from Hembo about Caleb Williams in the offensive line potentially not being a problem.
Caleb Williams took nine sacks against a Patriots defense
against which no other QB took more than three.
So that's saying maybe still offensive line.
Caleb Williams is the only quarterback to take 15 sacks
in a two-game span this season.
Wow, that's a lot of hits there.
He leads the NFL with 19 sacks when his O-line records a pass block win
when it comes to stats.
So he leads the NFL with that, 19 of them,
whenever the offensive line is considered a win by stats people.
So you take that however you want.
He co-leads with the NFL, Deshaun Watson,
with 27 sacks on extended dropbacks,
which is four-plus seconds after the snap.
So 27 of these sacks are four-plus seconds.
He got 35 of them, I think, in total.
So that's a lot of that.
And then obviously Chicago, the last two games against Arizona and New England,
23 drives, zero touchdowns and all that could potentially be real.
Those are stats from Hembo right there.
So 27 sacks on four plus second place.
Interesting.
Joining now is a man who I assume just heard that and his skin started crawling.
A guy who only wants to block for two and a half seconds.
Ladies and gentlemen, Super Bowl champion, 12-year NFL vet,
host of the OG in the trenches show, A.Q. Shipley.
A.Q. Shipley.
A.Q., what do these stats mean that I just read?
What matters, what doesn't matter?
Obviously, stats people deciding if the offensive line won or lost
is certainly something, but that four-plus-second sack thing,
that's the biggest,
the most telling one, or does their offensive line suck? That literally just made my head explode.
Okay. Made my head explode. All right. Whenever you hear four seconds, that's on the quarterback.
Like you can't sit there and expect anybody to hold up for four seconds. Obviously you have a
running quarterback. You have a guy that comes from a college system where maybe he can get
through progressions. He can sit back there for four, five, six, seven seconds.
Can't happen in the NFL.
Just can't happen.
And you can't blame that on the offensive line.
Ball has to get out.
Get your read.
Get your progression.
Back foot hits the ground.
One hot, one hitch forward.
Ball's got to be out.
Like, right there.
Like, even that.
Like, I'd rather you throw the ball away and not have a sack.
Like, the offensive line's skin's crawling whenever you see these.
Okay, so Shane Waldron's fault for not teaching this
and letting him know that this is how this is?
How much of the blame do you think is on OC?
I know we're not in a building, so we don't know what the play calls are.
We're not in a building. We don't know any of this.
But OC can definitely take a lot of the heat for this, or no?
I mean, I think it's more on the quarterback coach than anybody else, right?
The OC is the one putting the game plan together.
He's putting the scheme in.
And then at the end of the day, the quarterback coach has to sit there and be like,
Hey, listen, if you don't like it by one, two, okay, let's throw this thing away and live to fight another down.
Interesting.
Do you think changing of offense coordinator in the middle of the season is good for Caleb, bad for Caleb?
I think any type of change.
I mean, listen, a lot of the offensive line is on edge like that right there.
That's clearly on the offensive line.
But if we're sitting back there and we've got a wall protected
and he's sitting back there three, four seconds,
that ball has to get out.
Either get it to a guy or throw it away, period.
Shane Waldron's offense has not been good with protecting the quarterback
over the last two years is the stats that we see.
Is there a chance
that it's really hard to find people that
are good at coaching?
Yeah.
And here's the thing. Because everybody's making fun
of the Bears right now, right? Everybody's making fun of the Bears
for this entire thing. It's like, there's a lot
of coaches that get fired. And there's a lot of people
that are supposed to be experts. And there's a lot of people
that are very good coaches other places
and they come in and they stink.
It's like, I think finding good coaches is not easy.
I think it's a very, very difficult thing to do, personally.
The biggest thing that I keep talking about all the time, right?
Like, Shane Walgen comes from a place where he has a system.
That system may not necessarily fit a Caleb Williams.
And so that's where it does fall on the offensive coordinator,
right? Like you have to adjust and adapt to your personnel, period. And that's what makes good
coaches. You can't sit here and run a Marcus Mariota offense with a statue quarterback. Like
it just not, it's not going to work, right? And so if you have a guy, you have to use his skill
set and you have to find what works. And if we're sitting there just doing the same thing over and over and over again,
and it's not working, we have to find a way to adapt and become a better football team.
And that falls on the offensive coordinator, and that's why I think there's a change.
The biggest thing we talk about, though, all the time is mid-season,
10 weeks into the season, terminology's already put in.
Plays are already put in.
These guys understand you're not going to sit there, if something's
too jet as the protection,
like, we're not coming in and changing the
protections. We're still running too jet.
So now that falls on the players, right?
You can only blame so many people before it becomes a
problem, and then we can, and then it falls
on the head coach. Eight coaches have been fired
or resigned from Ibraflux's staff
in the last 14 months. The Bears
have scored, this guy was was NFL Super Bowl champion coach.
That's right.
Player coach.
He was Jackie Moon, this guy.
Coached Bucs and played for the Bucs.
Won a Super Bowl.
Unreal.
Fucking bald Jackie Moon.
Two rings.
Short arms.
Yep.
Jackie Moon.
The Bears have scored an NFL low
10 points in the first quarter
across 22 drives.
Who's that on?
How's that work?
That's execution. That's on the coordinator, period. Because you script your first 15 plays.
That is something you work on all week. That is your best 15 plays of the game plan to go out
and execute and score. The Eagles have the same statistic. They weren't scoring on the first drive
forever. That comes down to preparation. That comes down to game plan. That is all
easy. Easy. Easy. Easy.
Sirianni's got the boys
up there. Eagles are playing great. Yeah, they are.
They're 7-2. Everybody forgets.
They got a good old line. This may
make AQ's skin crawl a little bit,
but I don't think that
there aren't very many good offensive
lines in the league right now. Period.
You know what I mean? Obviously, the Bears are one of the bunches.
But Eagles, you know, they're on AQ's list.
Detroit, Washington, Baltimore.
Like, outside of that, I mean, Cardinals, I think they're playing pretty good.
So, like, that's what, 5-6 maybe?
AQ, what you think about the O-line play, I guess, across the league?
Yeah, it's down.
There's no question about that.
And I think that, again, we go back
to the college game, right? I don't think they're preparing these guys for this level. And so,
DB, we had this conversation last week. I mean, like, I come up with a top five every week. I
mean, honest to God, some weeks, you got your three, your mainstays, right? It's going to be
Ravens, Lions, and Eagles, right? Like, that's your mainstays. Commanders are probably in there
as number four, right? And then Cardinals are probably your top five. But if any one of those have a down
week, I'm struggling to
find four and five for the week.
Alright. Yikes.
So maybe it isn't just
the other line's bad, we gotta be bad
because it feels like everybody's dealing with that
issue. Except for the teams that are gonna be
around in the end. That's literally
Have we figured out who already is
gonna be left strictly because of how they protect and how they
can do it? Possibly. How come more teams
don't pay attention to it? How come that's not a
focal point of building a team? We talked to Coach Harbaugh
You talked to Belichick yesterday. He was like
Well, I don't think, Belichick said, I don't think
Chicago wanted to be a tough physical team
Their first investment was a wide receiver
and a running back and then they do this
Harbaugh goes in there, offense line, give you
two tackles, the first pick is going to be this.
This is exactly how we're doing it.
It almost sets the tone for the entire team.
Like, hey, this is what we care about right here.
You had to get under the cap.
Who did they get rid of?
Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and they kept Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack instead.
Yeah, like, hey, just so we're all clear, this is how this is going.
All line, D-line, howdy.
Drafted Joe Alt with our neighbors, Rome, and those guys on the board.
AQ,
if you guys had better personalities,
maybe more people
would respect you off the court.
That's the entirety of it.
I just want to let you know.
What's your problem?
Okay, all right.
Thanks for joining us, AQ.
Have a good one.
See you Thursday,
Wednesday.
See you tomorrow.
And the four plus seconds stat,
I wish we would have
had his face up there.
Yeah, so.
Because obviously,
I was reading it
as it came in there.
That's great.
And just listen to him.
What is this, a punt? How long are we how long is this play going to last?
Some of those I saw though, I mean, they were just running
Scott for sure.
There were a few, definitely, but like
the one where he's rolling out to the
left, that is supposed to be what, like a quick
throw if you're moving out. And then
instead of throwing it away, he just holds onto it and takes
a sack. Yeah yeah and it's like
we wondered i exactly very loudly wondered can caleb do caleb shit in the nfl because the caleb
magic stuff that he was doing in college which was sick electrifying must watch we're talking
high stepping out of sacks moving around people i mean just every week it was something going crazy can he do that
against grown grown men that's the best who are the fastest men that have been drafted from each
draft class for the last 15 years can will he be able to pull it off whenever there's people who
are getting paid millions of dollars not that it isn't happening in college but not everywhere
millions and millions of dollars to try to stop you and is it going to happen against guys who are 280 pounds somehow running four fours like is he still going to be able to do it i think
he still does have the magic in there i still think the caleb williams thing exists but he's
going to have to tamper it and i think if an offense coordinator doesn't match him or want
him to do his shit it's never going to work so whoever they get their next like i think they
have to understand who caleb is what caleb is and let's kind of make the most out of caleb williams the nfl i think i think he can still do all those
things we've seen flashes of him doing it now you can't do it every game you can't do it every
quarter play and we see it with like like lamar jackson is a very obviously different quarterback
than caleb but even with lamar like you have to at some point in the nfl you got to play on time
you got to be able to play and win from the pocket.
And that's where we've seen Lamar make his biggest steps in games.
Kyler Murray, he's playing his best ball this year.
He's playing much more on time, reading things from the pocket, making throws.
And then when Kyler has to be special, Kyler can be special.
Josh Allen, same thing.
So at some point, you let those special traits take over.
That's why these guys are these guys and can elevate different players.
Like, Justin Herbert's another guy who went through three different coordinators
in his three first years, but he was special.
He was off the charts.
But now we're seeing Harbaugh talk about it yesterday.
You don't have to play hero ball.
Like, let the other guys do their job.
When it's your time to be special, be special.
And then I think that's a big reason why Bears fans are so frustrated, too,
because obviously circumstances are different,
but, like, that's exactly what Jaden Daniels is doing in Washington like we know how
special he is with his legs but like he's winning from the pocket and then if he has to get out and
run he will but he's not he's not looking to extend the play on every single play and have
an explosive play on every single play like it looks like Caleb is and look how good Washington's
how about Jim Harbaugh? Herbert's a hero.
Guardian.
He's guardian of victory.
He's inhuman.
Everything.
Half man, half beast.
Carrying bricks.
Keystones he was actually carrying, which he was awesome talking about.
The man.
But watching Jaden, watching CJ last year,
it's like there is an expectation of you to be able to figure it out quicker.
Caleb, obviously, is going through another transition into another offense coordinator who spent four years with Shane Waldron,
I guess, in Seattle.
He's come over with him, so I don't know how much will be different.
Maybe different play calls, different timing, and everything like that.
But there's some numbers coming out about the McCaskey era,
the George McCaskey era.
Twelve years, three general managers, four head coaches,
ten offense coordinators, zero playoff wins.
All right, good luck, Chicago.
Speaking of playoff wins, joining us now, ladies and gentlemen,
is a college football expert from ESPN.
The College Football Playoff Committee will be releasing
its second official rankings tonight live in between two basketball games on ESPN.
Hosted by Reece Davis, Borger McFarlane, Joey Galloway, Greg McElroy,
and, ladies and gentlemen, one of the stars of the show, who has all the inside information, who, who, who, who, cheers, Heather Dinesh.
How are you?
I'm good. How are you doing?
I'm great. Thank you so much for joining us.
IU is going bananas.
They're going to be ranked very high, we assume, this evening. They were
eighth last week. I think AP had them at five on Sunday. Tonight, we'll learn the college football
playoff committee. I can't wait to see what our Hoosiers look like, but what should we be expecting
tonight? Is there any big drama coming this evening after Alabama gets that massive win,
or any other happenings from this past weekend heather well i think the
big question is how far miami falls after losing to georgia tech the ap poll sunk them pretty far
i have miami though at 11 which keeps them as the fourth highest ranked conference champion and still
that first round by but now i've got texas at number. I think that's the big change up top because obviously of the Georgia loss.
But Pat, now you've got this bunch of SEC teams with two losses for the committee to
sort out.
And I think tonight Alabama will still be their top two loss team.
Okay.
So obviously each week the storylines are, are they judging how the team plays?
And they said football judgment is a big part. Ward Manuel said that
last week to Reese Davis. Strength of schedule,
obviously the Indiana 103rd
strength of schedule was being broadcasted
out there. How you lose,
who you lose to, that's all a massive
piece of it. Is the conference
dominance of SEC Big
Ten, obviously it was apparently real
last week. Is that only going to grow stronger, you think,
as the weeks grow on?
I think it is, even as you continue to see these teams with two losses.
And as much as people keep throwing out the word elimination games every week,
I would really hesitate to eliminate a three-loss SEC team.
And that includes if Georgia loses to Tennessee.
Yes, I just said said that and here's why
because in the first 10 years of the college football playoff there have been 13 13 three
lost teams ranked in the selection committee's top 10 on selection day so this has happened before
and if history repeats itself,
then you could potentially see a three-loss SEC team in. But they're not all created equal.
Let me make that clear. All three-loss SEC teams are not created equal. If Ole Miss loses a third
game, they're done. LSU, they're going to be way down at the bottom of the barrel right now.
Georgia, though, has one of the toughest schedules in the country that's why i
treat them a little differently and i think the committee could do yeah i i think that's very
apparent obviously their losses are all top five matchups whenever we get in there not like uh
you know alabama losing to vandy everybody thought it was over they're the only team with four wins
over top 25 teams the strength of schedule is certainly an interesting one let's continue on
that note ap tone has a question for you yeah Yeah, Heather, talking about three-loss SEC teams.
The way that I'm looking at it now, it looks like there's going to be
four Big Ten teams, four SEC teams, ACC, Big 12, Notre Dame,
and then the group of five highest-ranked team.
Is the fifth team from the SEC potentially coming if Notre Dame loses?
Is that the only way you think that maybe five SEC teams get there,
especially a three- one yes because I think if Notre Dame loses that opens the door but think
about this too what if you have BYU as the runner-up in the Big 12. If you have Colorado as a two-loss Big 12 champion and BYU's only loss
is a close game to Colorado, then do you have two Big 12 teams? And to me, that's going to be a good
debate for the selection committee. A three-loss SEC team or a one-loss BYU Big 12 runner-up? Okay, so I cannot wait for the drama there, and I think I
heard Coach Saban say that, you know, when there was only the four-team playoff, there was only
like three teams that potentially were pissed, super pissed. Florida State last year obviously
took the cake of being the most mad for good reason. We understand why they would be mad.
Georgia also could have been very, very mad last year.
They're the back-to-back national champs.
Can't even get in there to defend.
And they have one loss in 29 games or so.
And they can't even get in.
But Florida State's more mad than we are.
We get it.
We'll be quiet.
Now it spans conferences over the final couple spots.
It's all over the place.
So you've got like 20, maybe 10 teams that are mad,
as opposed to just two or three teams that are mad.
There's a chance that there's even more drama at the end,
even though we've expanded the entirety of it.
And I think it's good for ball.
It's good for college ball, keeping the amount of hope.
It's so fun.
But with the hope comes the disappointment
Which then becomes very very loud
How many million people
Will watch if we just have cameras
In the room
Where they actually put like
Cameras commercial spots
I mean 15 million people will probably watch
How many people are in the college football committee
And it's a rotating cast right every three years
That's right There are 13 people in there How many people are in the college football committee? And it's a rotating cast, right? Every three years?
That's right.
There are 13 people in there.
It's a mix of former coaches, sitting athletic directors.
There's one former sports writer, Kelly Whiteside, is in there.
So it's a variety of people.
But everybody always assumes that they're going to act how the previous group acted, but it's a different group, right?
They run tenure, I think, three years.
And is it a rotating cast, or is it three tenure, I think, three years, and is it a rotating cast,
or is it three years, same group, and then they move on? No, it's three years, ten years. So,
for example, this year there are six new committee members, and you make a great point because in the
past there have been committee members who have valued head-to-head more than something else,
right, or strength of schedule, and that's what people need to understand is how you feel as a committee member could be completely different
from the person sitting next to you. I mean, I remember 2021 when they ranked Michigan State
ahead of Michigan because in spite of the head-to-head and everybody was going bananas, well, you can see tonight Ole Miss could be behind Georgia a week after,
not even a week after beating them.
Yeah.
Because Georgia beat Texas and Clemson, and they have a better schedule.
So how much does head-to-head matter?
Well, it depends on who you ask in that room.
Yeah, and that room changes.
So you really, and in the first 12-team playoff,
this is now setting precedent for what the future looks like.
Go ahead, Con Man.
Yeah, Heather, with the SEC not so much the Big Ten,
because of the way it's shaping up, it feels like there's a chance
one of the teams that makes the SEC championship
ends up being a three-loss team if they were to lose to a Texas
or one of the other teams at the top.
Are we looking at the SEC championship and the Big Ten championship
as if you make it to that game, you're automatically going to get a bid? Or do
you think that's kind of where the three-loss team conversation starts?
Well, to be clear, just to remind everyone watching, the five highest-ranked conference
champions are in. So the Big Ten and SEC champion is in. The question is how the committee evaluates
the runner-up, right? And if it's a three-loss team, they're going to be compared against all of the other teams in that pack.
So is it a close game?
You guys remember Ohio State, Wisconsin in like 2014?
What was it, like 59-0?
That's a far different championship game than, let's say, Ohio State and Oregon playing each other again.
And it's another close game. You better believe the runner-up in there is going to be in, right?
So how do those games unfold helps answer that question. But remember this, whoever loses that
game, then if they do get an at-large bid, they have to recover emotionally from losing that game
and win four straight games to win the national
title. I don't care who you are. Good luck.
Anybody that makes it, and now granted, the first
round bye could be good, could be bad, though, because
it could be a month before they're playing football
in that first round bye
for some of the champions with how it could
set up for three weeks or something like that. That's
a long time. I'm not saying, is it rest or
is it rust? If you're a top team, obviously
you would hope it's rest, not rust home that home field playoff game is something i think we're all
jacked up about which leads to ty asking you a question yeah heather we were kind of talking
about this earlier this week and a little bit last week and obviously we'll see what the rankings
uh say tonight but in the case of like indiana or some of these other schools is there a chance
that if they were to get a home game, that that would be moved to potentially like a neutral site so they can get more people in there and not have to worry about, you know, like the catastrophe of a hotel situation?
Or is it pretty much locked in that every home team game will be on campus at those schools?
campus at those schools? Well, the schools have the right to move it if they want to, but as long as it is feasible and as long as they can prepare for it, then I would assume that 99.999% of the
time they would have that game on campus and move hell or high water to make it happen because that is the ultimate home field advantage when it
matters most so i would be surprised unless there was something like for example stadium construction
or in just a simple inability to host it logistically i would be shocked if anyone
passed that opportunity yeah the reason we the reason we even brought it up is because it was
announced like last week.
It might have been you.
I don't remember who.
It might have been you that said every school that is in position with this ranking to have
a home field playoff game has said that they will host it at their stadium and not at a
neutral site.
And we're like, we didn't even know that was a, we didn't even know that was even a thought
or a theory.
What a showcase of your campus.
Yeah.
What a showcase of your school, showcase of everything,
and a showcase of college football to the world
that maybe hasn't experienced it yet.
I think it'll be big.
Now, there's one name that's huge that doesn't have a chance
to be one of the four champs, obviously, by their own decision.
D-Bud has a question for you.
Yeah, what's the path for Notre Dame to get to the playoff?
Obviously, all the things
Pat said not having a conference championship in their schedule in the matchups they have
so Notre Dame's only path to the playoff as an independent and this goes for Washington State
too guys and anybody else who's an independent is through one of those seven at large bits so
they have to run the table I would expect them to be in and just sitting there
watching like they do every other year while the other conferences play their conference championship
game. And you know, when this was put together, Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick knew
that they wouldn't be able to get one of those first round buys former athletic director Jack Swarbrick I should
say and that was okay because they knew that they would be able to get a first round home game and
they would get that rest while everyone else was playing their conference championship games
so there is a little bit of a given a give and take there in terms of the Irish all right so
825 ish tonight I think is what they were marketed in between two basketball games.
The new college football playoff committee
bracket will be unveiled. Same with
the first ones in, first ones out, yada
yada yada. Huge night for college
ball as we continue to look ahead to the
12-team playoff. Thank you for joining us.
Yeah, guys. Thanks for having me on.
Hey, your hometown is home of Yingling, huh?
That's right, man.
I didn't know that. Yingling, America's oldest brewery.
I'll get you some.
Okay.
Hey, I'm from Pennsylvania.
I understand the Yingling game.
I understand the ogre.
We appreciate you, ladies and gentlemen.
Heather Dinnick.
Yeah, Heather.
Okay, that's a big night tonight.
Huge.
It's going to be so sick.
The 12-team playoff?
Yeah, it's going to be so much fun.
Yeah, it's going to be bananas sick. The 12-team playoff? Yeah, it's going to be so much fun. Yeah, it's going to be bananas.
But you asked about, like, Indiana.
Indiana, obviously, huge advantage having it on campus and everything like that.
55,000 people, okay?
The speakers don't really work.
Right.
There's no real, but I guess it is like we're here.
Yeah, for sure.
You don't want to have it like we're here.
But you can see how there's maybe a conversation
Happening though about if we're
Able to but also you know
If if Sig thinks that say
It's in Indiana and it's
33 degrees out you know a little
Little light snow would he rather be playing there
Or in a 75 degrees
Lucas Oil Stadium against a team that you know
He might want to muck it up yeah maybe he wants
To but his team...
No, I know.
That's why I think if you play at
Lucas Oil, in certain
situations, yeah, it'd probably be split, but
if Indiana makes it in,
everyone in this state is going to want to
go to that game.
They're rabid for...
If you can add 15,000
more fans that are going to come,
because they will be Indiana fans, why wouldn't you consider it?
Yeah, and I think it's still your home game.
It's still your stadium.
It's still everything like that.
I would like the Bloomington people to enjoy the hell out of a playoff game.
For sure.
But not that far away.
It's a bigger stadium that is ready.
Is it even available? Oh, true. That's a bigger stadium that is ready. Is it even available?
Oh, true.
That's a great story.
Didn't even think about that.
Volleyball tournament, we can't have anything going on.
Didn't even think about that.
You want to have the AFC championship?
Can't, sorry.
Got a volleyball tournament.
Huge volleyball tournament.
You want to have a college football playoff game?
No, sorry.
Shriners convention.
Yeah, I understand.
You get it.
Yeah, they got to come and do their Shriners.
Grave Digger's going to be here.
Yeah.
I hope all the home games are cold weather.
Yes.
Well, those SEC teams aren't going to be.
Correct.
Yeah, except for SEC.
I would like an SEC home game in a college football playoff.
No doubt.
Oh, they'll get one.
Yeah, definitely.
Well, that's what I'm saying.
I would.
It's all in how the, literally how the seeding comes.
Bama or Georgia.
And how are they going to bring that up?
How are they going to bring that up when they're talking?
Sam or Georgia.
And how are they going to bring that up?
How are they going to bring that up when they're talking?
You know, if we make them just sixth instead of eighth,
like now all of a sudden we got to.
There's going to be some games and shit.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
I didn't even consider it, but people are going to be so pissed because there is a chance that Georgia is ahead of Ole Miss,
and it's like, well, sorry.
Sorry about that.
Look at it right there.
I mean, the SEC and Big Ten have all the home games right there.
Yeah.
That's because they're littered in the top 12, but yeah.
So you want to be ranked 5, 8, 6, 7.
That is the home.
If you're AD, if you're an athletic director, 1 through 4,
certainly let's be a champion.
Sure.
Certainly, certainly, certainly.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
We want to do that.
If we land five through eight
though we got another 110 000 ticket sales that's that's what we're at least that's what we're
because penn state was up there last week and it's like penn state potentially has then the
the night out because obviously espn will be broadcasting it so that'll be a prime time game
actual prime time right at night and be happening in it all. It's like that's a pivotal point for your entire program,
your entire university.
You're getting a lot of eyes that don't watch college ball
that are going to see your shit in your show.
It's like I can't wait for that.
With all due respect to the bowl games that are going to be represented
in the quarterfinals, I wouldn't hate to see those quarterfinals
be home games too.
Amen.
Yeah.
Are you kidding me? Amen. Some of the rematches.
You know what? Every one of these games,
let's make it a home field game.
Ohio State having to go to BYU in the second round, that'd be
just awesome. That would be sweet.
And it gives those
teams like BYU,
they have a better chance than a neutral
field. Ohio State's just going to take over.
National champion we get, like the Super Bowl.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Neutral, professional, I'm cool with.
Semis, too.
Yeah.
Pasadena.
Nope.
I want home field, man.
Semifinals, too.
They were with them the whole time.
That's right.
You know, Oregon, they get a buy.
Okay, they don't even get a home game.
They don't even have to have anybody have to fly out to the Hudson.
You know, like they should definitely have it.
They make it to the semis.
Yeah, number one team in the country.
Sorry about it.
Have a better season.
Maybe you're Oregon.
You've got to fly all the way out to Oregon.
You've got to deal with it out there.
I don't mind it.
Now, granted, the amount of corporate money that is coming in from all those places is bananas.
But it's like the home field playoff game is one of the big sells of the 12th team.
More teams, more opportunity, more exposure for what college football has
that no other sport in the United States has.
Okay? And soccer has it
overseas in Europe and everything like that.
How big are those stadiums, Gumpy? How big are those
stadiums? They can get up to like 80,000,
the big ones. What's standard, though? Probably
like 30, 40. Okay. So that's
an arena in some places.
Yeah. We have soccer
fans in your hooligans.
80, 100,000 of them at the same time.
It's like what college football has from a fan perspective,
nobody can touch in the world.
And I understand soccer fans are all in and I respect it.
And they're fighting for like their towns.
That's why they're so all in.
That's what these college teams are like.
My father, my father's father, my father fodder's fodder's fodder's fodder
actually laid the first brick on this campus.
That is going to be on display in a big way,
and I'm pumped for it.
I am jacked up.
So you're right.
I agree with everything you just said.
Hadn't thought about it until now, really.
Give them all the way to the national championship,
just like the NFL does.
Bingo.
Just like the NFL does.
And if you want home field advantage, be better during the season.
That's right.
That should be one of the biggest conversation pieces.
And just like the clash of the different types of Colts.
Like a Notre Dame versus Penn State, I don't know how often that typically happens.
I don't think I can remember a time when it happened in my life.
But that would be so cool to watch that.
And then like a Tennessee versus Indiana.
Just like the type of person
that is a Tennessee fan versus
the type of person that's an Indiana fan.
That is so cool to
experience. I was out there
at Cal Berkeley when Miami
was out there. Bingo. And it was
awesome. Miami versus family.
Watching both
learn of each other's existence in
real time. And then inevitably shake their hands. Let's existence in real time.
And then, inevitably,
Shake their hands.
Let's go shake their hands.
A couple clean taps by a few Berkeley folks.
Sure.
Like Miami, Texas.
That's, I mean, granted Miami lost,
but that would be a matchup.
That would be nuts.
Shout out College Bowl.
Shout out College Bowl.
I've got to correct something.
I said old Joseph is now the OC.
He is not the OC. He is not the OC.
He's still quarterback coach.
Thomas Brown is OC.
Quarterback coach remains the same.
Tom Brown becomes OC.
Tom Brown with Bryce Young last year in Carolina. Old buddy with Waldron and Seattle quarterback coach for the last four years.
Let's talk about that game last night.
Dolphins and Rams didn't get a chance to dive in as much because of the shane waldron bears convo right into college football playoff
being like let's go yeah that's a big night tonight huge that is a huge what are the two
basketball games that are sandwiching this particular michigan state kansas is the first one
okay kentucky yeah oh it's good games okay if you gone was on first i would say this makes sense i
think uh college football playoff should take precedent over both of these,
but I appreciate all of them playing.
I appreciate all of them playing.
Can't wait.
Compy, are we gambling on both of those games?
Yeah, we got the dogs barking in both of those.
Which we know who that is, obviously.
Michigan State.
Michigan State's getting six and a half at home.
Kentucky's getting six and a half at Duke.
Okay, so we like both the dogs.
Cooper Flagg? Oh, yeah. You're betting against Cooper six and a half at Duke. Okay, so we like both the dogs. Cooper Flags?
You're betting against Cooper Flags?
Oh, yeah. Okay, brother.
Second best freshman
in the country. Easy. Behind
Mick... Yeah, Mick White
guy from UConn.
Liam. Liam. Liam Mick White guy
from UConn. He's a dog.
Always are. 14-10
at halftime the other day.
Let's just remember who the big prize is
in the draft this year. It's not McWhite guy
from UConn. It's Cooper Flagg.
Let's hope Cooper Flagg doesn't get cramps like last
game. He was going too hard.
You think Liam's cramping?
You ever see Liam cramping this year yet?
You think one of Hurley's boys is cramping?
You're talking about Liam McWhite guy up there at UConn?
Hurley gets the boys ready.
I'm not saying the Duke head coach, who I definitely know,
John Shire, is as good as Hurley.
I wouldn't say that, but I will say Cooper Fox is the best damn freshman,
best damn player in the entire country.
You're talking about the main event?
Yeah, the main event.
Great name.
Great name.
Big white guy's got a future, though.
I kick him ball, too. I saw some highlights of him. He's a good player. He is a good player. He's got a future, though. I kick him ball, too. Saw some highlights of him.
He's a good player.
He ain't Cooper Flagg, though.
He's playing for Dan Hurley. He might be able to figure it out.
No doubt about it.
Who's cutting nets at the end?
McWhite guy or the main event?
If we know anything about Duke basketball,
what do they have? Three of the top
six picks a few years ago?
I'm going to bet on Hurley and McWhiteGuy.
But Flag's still the number one pick.
McWhiteGuy's logo might be
him cutting down nets.
The main event's got all...
He's got a lot of brand build.
But McWhiteGuy and that squad up there
might really pull it off.
Let's definitely call him that for the rest of the game.
No doubt about it.
No doubt about it.
We're the worst show of all time.
No questions asked.
ESPN's playing these two college basketball games.
I assume they're a big deal.
I'm like, all right, let's go ahead.
We don't care.
Can we please get the college football playoff?
I would like to see Reese.
I'd like to see Boog.
I'd like to see Joey Galloway.
And I'd like to see Greg McIlroy.
Go at it.
About things that ultimately, they definitely matter.
Without a doubt.
They definitely matter.
But this particular ranking means little to nothing, depending upon what happens.
And the amount of passion those four show on that desk, I'm telling you, it's one of my favorite shows.
Love it.
They get pissed.
Oh, yeah.
Greg McElroy gets actually pissed whenever this thing pops
up on the screen. And then Joey
obviously will get involved. Boog will get
involved. And then Reese is like, let's remember.
Calm down. Calm down.
It's real juice up there. It's a good
show. But obviously we've got to wait for Michigan State
to beat Kansas. That's great.
And basketball.
It's just like the NBA.
When February comes around, NBA starts. When March comes around, oh, it's college basketball. And basketball. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's just like the NBA. Like, hey, when February comes around, NBA starts.
When March comes around, oh, it's college basketball season.
Breaking news.
Oh, no.
From the Hollywood handle.
Tom Cruise reportedly wants Glenn Powell to replace him as the lead Mission Impossible.
Holy.
Yeah.
It's from the Hollywood handle.
That's big.
That's a done deal Wow
This is like
A veteran QB
Playing while the young rookie
Gets to sit and watch
And learn how to handle the ropes
Yeah
This is Patrick Mahomes
Alex Smith
It is
This is Aaron Rodgers
Brett Favre
Huh?
The Hollywood handle
What'd you just say?
The N Schneider
The N Schneider
I just want to make sure
This is real before
Alright alright
It's real
It's real.
Is this real?
TC ain't letting this out if this isn't real.
And TC can recognize a leading man when he sees it. Exactly.
And there is no man more leading than Glenn Powell.
You kind of called it.
All right.
Yeah, I mean, listen.
All right.
If TC's talking about it, I know what's going on.
Are you calling who I think you're calling?
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, let's see.
Let's see if he answers.
Come on.
I don't know where the hell he is.
He might be somewhere in the world.
I mean, it makes too much sense.
He's probably filming something.
Do one more Mission Impossible.
Boom.
Guess who's the young hotshot, Glenn Powell, and who's going to hand the baton right off
to TC.
He better be in the movie.
Hey, hey, hey.
We're live.
We're live.
We're live.
We're live.
We're live right now.
We'll be.
Oh.
Is that?
Is that?
Yeah.
Okay.
Don't let that out
I literally wear my costume in the movie man
I can't
Alright I won't show you
I won't show you
Sweet costume
They just broke some massive news about you
And your future
And we just wanted to say congratulations to you
Oh what is it?
Tell him
Tell him
Tell him
Do we trust what
At Hollywood Handle says in the Hollywood world?
It's from the in Snyder.
Do we know who the in Snyder is?
I N S N E I D E R.
I know who that guy is.
Yeah.
Okay.
Incredible.
In Snyder.
Normally, right?
Uh, I, I, I couldn't tell you.
Okay.
Well, is this right?
Tom Cruise reportedly wants Glenn powder. Replace him as the lead for Mission Impossible franchise on future installments, is what the insider is reporting.
We just want to call and say congratulations, brother.
My mom would never let me do that.
No!
Everybody knows that.
That's a death trap.
Really?
No!
That's a misdirection right there. Oh, no, I don't know if he's lying! All right, we love you. Really? No. That's a misdirection right there.
Oh, no.
I don't know if he's lying.
All right.
We love you.
Congratulations on everything.
Love you, Glenn.
Love you, Glenn.
Keep it feeling.
It's been a hell of a season.
It has been a hell of a season.
Texas, we're rolling.
We got college football
playoff committee
coming out tonight
with new rankings.
I can't wait, dude.
Hit me up.
I think it's...
I'm feeling good.
All right.
You look good, too.
What movie are we doing right now? Running Man. Yes. You're the man. All right. We appreciate you, dude. Hit me up. I think it's... I'm feeling good. Alright, you look good, too. What movie are we doing right now?
Running Man. Yes!
You're the man. Alright, we appreciate you, dude.
It's gonna be sick. Alright, alright.
Alright, good luck to you. See ya.
So what does that mean?
It means he's...
He's Ethan Hunt.
That's what you think? Yeah. We found our next
guy. He looks
really cool right there. Oh, yeah. I bet he did.
That's a remake of an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie.
It's going to be awesome.
He looked so cool right there.
Yeah.
Also, glistening.
They got him.
I'm sure he's trash.
Absolutely trash.
Yeah.
I just saw an incredibly handsome person.
Yeah.
And then who's he in that movie with?
Which one?
That Running Man movie.
The Running Man?
I don't know.
Older gentleman with longer hair.
We've seen him. He's the main character, though. Bill Defoe? I don't know. Older gentleman with longer hair. We've seen him.
He's the main character, though.
Bill DeFoe?
Josh Brolin?
Brolin?
I don't know.
Robert De Niro?
Put the guy's picture up.
I'll be able to tell you if it's him.
Outer Range guy?
Outer Range?
Bill H. Macy?
With the big hole in the farm?
Okay.
Who was the guy?
Josh Brolin.
I'm looking at the cast.
It's Brolin, Bill H. Macy.
Yeah, there he is, top right.
No, William Macy.
Oh, Bill H. Macy.
Yeah, I just saw him.
Hey, Bill, nice to see you on the FaceTime.
Yeah, hell yeah.
Oh, Bill was on the FaceTime?
Yeah, yeah, turned around.
I saw you.
It was good to see you.
Nice to meet you, sir.
Nice to meet you, sir.
Michael Cera?
I guess this movie's going to be phenomenal.
Yeah.
Glenn Powell said it's going to be sick.
Yeah.
I believe that's how he ended it.
He looks so cool right there.
You know what's great about Glenn Powell?
He's a nice guy.
Jacked up for Texas.
Yeah.
Do you remember when we were all wearing flight suits?
Yeah.
He was just...
And he had the black tank top on.
He was awesome.
And he couldn't really talk about it or make mention of it.
Hey, this movie's awesome, right?
Yeah. Love all forms of entertainment. Come on, Texas. Love all forms of entertainment. about it or make men show up. Hey, this movie's awesome, right?
Love all forms of entertainment.
Come on, Texas. All forms of entertainment.
Just kept calling him Hangman.
Yeah, the whole time.
Hangman, tell me what Texas needs to do to get this thing turned around against Oklahoma.
They lose that game.
Oh, yeah.
Don't, Gabriel.
Yeah.
One bananas.
Now he leads the number one Oregon team.
Wow.
In a college football season that the entire world has its eyes on.
Really?
Including from the set of Running Man.
Yes.
The most handsome motherfucker to ever live.
Glenn Powell.
If he is Ethan Hunt, he's got to do his own stunts.
He will.
Yeah.
He's TC's protege, brother.
There is another guy in the works, though.
Oh.
The room around the street is the Rizzler, my piece.
Okay.

Football!
It's fantastic.
Last night, the Miami Dolphins beat the Los Angeles Rams to become a 3-6 team in the playoff hunt
in a magical evening where Tua Tongvaloa had a touchdown,
had some scrambles, had a great return,
and had a tackle.
He actually tackled somebody with his
head, which is obviously something
we all had our eyes on, and we're
all praying every single time he dropped back
for nothing bad to happen. Tua said, I don't care
about anything. I'm playing ball. Just like
I said when I was coming back, I love the game.
I love the game till death.
Boom! Throws a pick, puts
his head down into a guy's
knee pretty much. Now he gets shinned
to the ear hole, bounces back up.
I think Tua probably learned a lot about himself
in that moment. I think we all learned a lot
about Tua in that moment.
We'd like to say, Tua, you throw a pick,
get the fuck away from the play.
Please.
Great tackle.
You got it.
Hey, you got him, Tua.
You got him.
Good stick.
Yeah.
I mean, that's a real shot to the head.
Very lucky.
He got his head across.
That's what you're saying.
I mean, great form tackle.
He had his head down when he had heads up football, obviously,
if we're looking for that.
But, I mean, that's a kick right to the head.
If that thing's just a little bit hot, not even going to get into it.
Tua, we're happy you're all right.
Congrats to the Dolphins.
Darius J. Butler predicted the Dolphins were going to win last night,
as did Gumby.
You guys had real faith in that team, huh?
I mean, obviously the state of Florida was on the line.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, and 11.
Yeah, Tua wasn't going to let us down.
The boys wasn't going to let us down.
Defense, obviously Tua.
Tua came out hot.
AQ, you talked about the first 15. Like that first drive, the Dolphins just marched right down the boys wasn't gonna let us down defense obviously two or two came out hot um aq you talked
about the first 15 like that first drive the dolphins just marched right down the field got
into the end zone then the defensive side of the ball anthony weaver on third down i don't think
they converted third down to like late in the third quarter um the rams three for 12 overall
in the game obviously we know that's the money down had to settle for a bunch of field short
field goals instead of getting into the end zone matt stafford had his weapons back with puka cooper they were productive um you know the other
robinson didn't have many catches many plays but stafford was definitely fooled a few times bringing
pressure so uh yeah i love what my dolphins did man big big win and now we stay in the thick of
it in the afc and that guy who's six foot nine oh my in his 17 his 17th year, at the age of 38, out of the U.
Yeah.
Calais Campbell causing full chaos.
They're calling him Calais Campbell.
This dude had a couple sacks, had a pass breakup, forced an interception.
I mean, this dude was on fire.
I've had a chance to obviously meet Calais Campbell in person before.
He's a sweet boy.
Really?
We're talking about great dude.
What's made man of the year in the past?
Probably would win every single year if they didn't want to just keep giving it to the same person.
Has a good time.
Relatable.
So tall.
Huge.
So, so tall.
Huge.
I've only seen him at a few events.
And he's one of those guys at the events,
and I assume there's a lot of NBA guys who feel this way.
But I don't know if all NBA guys are 293.
I'm sorry, 330 or whatever the hell he is because of how tall he is.
His bones got to weigh at least 300 pounds, you'd assume.
But he's big.
He's absolutely big.
So, you're at an event, and you just, like, you see him.
Like, everybody sees him.
You're hard-knocked.
And the way he handles all it, he's like everybody. You know, I assume the same way, like, you see him. Like everybody sees him. They're hard knocking. And the way he handles all, he's like everybody.
You know, I assume the same way like Shaq moves.
Whenever he's in public, Calais moves the exact same way.
Never met anybody that has met Calais who hasn't loved him.
Like that type of dude too.
So to see him having the success that he's having,
and every team, you know, he's kind of just moved on from,
and every time it's always like, well, he was doing well, why would you?
He's doing well, why would you?
He's doing well, why would you?
That's kind of the end of this career he's had,
but you're talking 17 years in this entire thing.
He's been so good all year.
They started him kind of like a snap count at the start of the year.
Every game he's playing more and more, and he just keeps getting better and better.
It's incredible.
38 years old, obviously has a massive night last night.
253 games, 108.5 sacks, 43rd Marissa Danfoss.
822 total tackles, three interceptions.
Glue guy in the locker room, too, I think, like always.
Obviously wants to be man of the year.
Incredible guy, six-time pro bowler.
And a part of the All-Decade team.
And I believe Joe, no, Troy last night,
who is one of the voices of the Hall of Fame.
You remember the whole Jimmy Johnson, Jerry Jones situation at the Hall of Fame
because of Troy Aikman.
He was like, this guy's the first balloter.
You know, whenever he, five years after he starts hanging up,
it's like for the length of time in which he has played the football that he's
played at the position that he's played,
it's like that warrants conversation immediately for everybody.
Creates chaos.
Huge, you mentioned a huge man.
Even if he's not getting to the quarterback,
kind of how J.J. Watt was in his prime,
he's still putting his hands up, putting his paws up.
We always love tips and overthrows as DBs.
It's chaos.
Always creating chaos for quarterbacks,
always in the line of vision, and just consistent.
Consistent and stay healthy, play a ton of games,
amass those type of stats.
Who's not a typical edge rusher like a T.J. Watt or a Miles Garrett
or one of these guys, almost 110 sacks.
I agree with Troy for sure.
He'll be a first ballot Hall of Famer.
Joining us now, live from Manatee, Ohio,
is a man who I assume has immense respect for Kaleos.
Being tossed on a football field
when that 17-year vet is on it.
Ladies and gentlemen, college football national champion,
Super Bowl champion, all-time leading tackler
for the Green Bay Packers, A.J. Hall.
Yay, Hall! A.J., great haircut.
Wow!
Holy shit!
It's like a toupee.
It looks good. It looks tight.
In a good way. Le looks good. Leading man.
It didn't sound like that was a good thing for Connor, but I want to let you know, I
mean it completely.
I just FaceTimed with Glenn Powell.
Your face pops up there.
I'm like, holy hell.
Just super handsome all the time.
I'll tell you what.
That's some of the best marketing you could ever do for that movie, Running Man.
Are you kidding me?
Glenn answering the phone.
You said Bill Macy was in the background?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I said, we're live.
We're live.
Glenn's like, what's up, dude?
Like, I don't think he heard me saying we're live.
And then he flips over.
Boy, Macy's just sitting there just like this.
Does one of these.
Yep.
And he turns it back, and I go, we're live.
We're live.
We're live.
And then he goes, I'm in my costume.
Then we learned a lot.
I'm in my uniform, yeah.
I'm in my uniform.
Can't show me.
He was in his costume. Whatever. Was he in, like, his trailer? Or was he in my uniform can't show me he was in his costume
whatever was he in like his trailer or is he in like the makeup where was it it felt like it was
a trailer situation i guess that's that business huh oh yeah you gotta be able to have phenomenal
patience because you're just kind of waiting a lot a lot i think i don't know i've never been
there but it feels like a lot of it is waiting there's a lot of smoke cigs that's why a lot of
the old school guys smoke cigs i feel like you like you're sitting around for seven and a half hours and you're working for 40 minutes.
Takes time, I guess.
Smoking cigs takes time.
Crushing beers with Bill H. Macy.
In the middle of takes, I don't know.
Why not?
He's a thespian.
He can do it.
He looks so cool.
You should have seen how cool he looked.
I believe it.
He's going to look awesome in that movie.
Clean shaved.
Oh, yeah.
It's movie star time. You don't want to hide that face. It's movie star movie. Clean shaved. Oh, yeah. It's movie star time.
You don't want to hide that face.
It's movie star time.
Glenn Powell.
Well, hopefully.
Hopefully, huh?
What?
He's one of the good guys.
Movie star time.
Okay, everybody needs this guy.
We're in a wild time.
We've shaken his hand.
No, no, I'm not saying him.
I'm just saying it's Glenn Powell time.
I don't deny that.
It's movie star time. I don't deny it.
It's movie star time.
I don't know.
So we've all read too many tweets.
Amen.
Okay.
That's what's... Heard too many things.
We've all seen too much stuff at this point not to have radar up about everything seemingly.
But you meet Glenn Powell, you think to yourself, this is all that's right in the world.
Amen.
You should not be that attractive and that humble.
No.
You know, that's kind of the issue.
And that jock.
Exactly.
Jock.
He's like the old school Hollywood leading man.
That's what he is.
He's like a throwback, I feel like.
Whoa.
What's that?
Once again.
What?
We're happy for you, Glenn.
Love you, Glenn.
Need you, Glenn.
Need you, Glenn.
I said it's my palm time.
I'm just saying.
Loosely throwing around.
Big night last night, obviously.
We'll keep our eye on all the situations.
It's going to be hard not to.
Seems like it's everywhere.
It's going to be a wild time these next few months.
Seems like a lot of things are under my algorithm
that we need to relax.
Just think about when the Super Bowl is.
That's right. Big game last Just think about when the Super Bowl is.
That's right.
Big game last night, speaking of the Super Bowl,
the Miami Dolphins are now 3-6, AJ.
And staying afloat is the proper way to describe this.
They're talking about them going on a playoff run.
Now, phenomenal graphic here by Dee Bowden.
The attention to detail here is very impressive.
Look at the water, but the boys are still there.
And then what's swimming at their feet?
That looks like a dolphin.
Is that a snowflake?
Is that a bottlenose?
That might be a snowflake, actually,
because that is where the entire conversation stemmed from.
We thought there was a chance Finkel might make an appearance on this particular graphic as well, but look at the sunset.
Look at the sky.
The font on the letters.
I mean, everything about it.
Phenomenal work by D-Bone here, but it tells a bigger story. We took
this much time on a team that's 3-6 because
the conversation is they might be able to get into the playoff
on wild card. Seventh seed
maybe in the AFC. They can go and get it.
Is that even, is that a reality
for this Miami Dolphins team after you watched last night
A.J. Hawk? I mean, you
can definitely see how it's a possibility.
I mean, if their defense continues to play
like they did, their defense, what, forces five field goals from the Rams.
We know how explosive the Rams' offense can be with Matt Stafford
and the weapons he has on the outside.
So, yeah, if their defense plays like this, I mean, you've got to go on a run
that we don't see teams go on too often, but why not?
Why not give them a chance?
Go ahead.
So I went back and I looked.
Since the NFL went to the 14-team playoff in 2020.
For some reason in 2020, you had to have 11 wins to get in the playoffs on the AFC side.
Well, we know why.
2020.
Crazy.
You need a lot of things.
In 21, it was nine wins got you in.
In 2022, nine wins got you in.
And then last year, 10 wins got you in.
So you've got to get at least nine for sure, possibly ten to get in the playoffs.
Okay, so that's where the seventh seed has remained.
This year, at the beginning of the year, there was a lot of seemingly,
I don't want to say turmoil, but there was a lot going around,
passing the buck happening.
So what will the win-loss record have to be for the seventh seed?
It will be different this year than years past, potentially.
But a road to ten.
The Bengals are trying to get there.
Obviously, they were trying to get
there. The Dolphins now
in the conversation. The Indianapolis Colts
are on the road to 10.
Kinda. That's what I
heard. Got a game up, too.
10 losses. Yeah. Everybody's talking about
the Dolphins going 3-6. What's the Colts
record? What's the Colts record?
Can somebody riddle me that? 4-6.
Oh, you got more wins than the Dolphins?
Broncos are currently the seven at five and five.
I mean, this is all setting up for one of the greatest comeback stories of all time.
This team, they're saying, don't even know how to be a professional operation.
Don't even know how to be a professional outfit.
Things have happened to this team that have never happened before in the history of professional football. Maybe
even high school football and college football
added into that at the quarterback position.
But still, the reason
why the NFL is the NFL and the reason
why football is the greatest,
we're still in it somehow.
Isn't that bananas?
If we're able to win a couple games, all these conversations
subside too. I'm sure they fixed
their culture overnight on one Tuesday.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, look at them.
They've been winning some games.
Could happen.
Because we have won games in the past that we weren't supposed to win.
And we've been in every single game that we've lost to very good teams.
And if all this shit is happening behind closed doors, okay?
Bills beat the shit out of us.
Vikings beat the shit out of us.
Everybody else.
Everybody else.
The other four.
The other four.
I was not behind closed doors.
We saw that happen.
We watched that. But if we start winning some games, everything that has was not behind closed doors. We saw that happen. We watched that.
But if we start winning some games,
everything that has been happening behind closed doors doesn't matter anymore.
And we just go and win the Super Bowl without ever getting it fixed.
And we're the first team ever that doesn't work hard,
that isn't all the way bought in, that somehow wins the Super Bowl.
That is what's possible at this moment.
And that's the conversation coming out of last night.
This Dolphins team is 3-6.
3-6. And now, the conversation coming out of last night. This Dolphins team is 3-6. 3-6.
And now, hold the phone.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Not really 3-6.
Wait a minute.
I mean, we're actually 5-6 if you look at who we're playing coming up.
Haven't played the games.
Have not had to do it at all.
We're actually 5-6 if you think about it.
And I'm doing the same thing with the Colts.
There's a lot of teams that are doing that right now.
We've got to get to 9. We'll just act like
those are two different times.
We've got to get to 9. Race to 9.
Let's do it. We've got a lot of games left.
We can get that done. We just wrapped up week 10.
There's 18 weeks in this season because
there's 17 games. Got nothing but time.
Anybody can get there.
Why not? Let's go and do it.
Why not go beat the Lions in a couple weeks?
Why not?
Ladies and gentlemen, this weekend we're playing against the Jets.
Uh-oh.
And their fans are hoping to think the same thing.
Exactly.
All we got to do is get to nine wins, maybe,
and we can sneak in as a wild card.
Ten wins, maybe, and we can sneak in as a wild card.
This weekend's a big one for that hope to remain real.
The quarterback of the New York Jets, four-time MVP, Super Bowl champion.
Ladies and gentlemen, Aaron Rodgers.
Yay!
Hello, Aaron.
Hey, guys. How you doing?
Good luck to your Jets this weekend playing against the Colts.
I might not be getting that pregame text from you.
Hey, it might look a little different.
That's all I'm saying.
It might look a little bit different.
I'm like, hey, today, give these boys a chance.
You know, let these Colts.
We've been through a lot over here.
Obviously, this Jets season has been a lot over there as well.
And that game aside, obviously, would like to
hear your thoughts on everything
right now. Because I think with
the way the season has gone, up,
down, we've had some moments, up,
we're back, we're here, we've
arrived. Then you play this
weekend, that game goes how it
goes, and now we're back down.
It's been a lot of this. But just
like we were just saying about
the Miami Dolphins fans, just
like the Colts fans are saying, just like a lot of places are saying,
in your building, what is the mindset?
What is the thought on how to finish this season for the New York Jets?
Well, it hasn't changed for me.
I think you've got to approach it the same every single week.
When there's a lot of conversation like, oh, what are you going to do now?
Well, you do what you know how to do.
You go back to work.
Preparation stays the same.
Maybe it kicks up a little bit if you need to for guys that feel like
they can give a little more.
But I've been doing this a long time, and the preparation stays the same.
Focus stays the same.
I think you've got to handle it with humility.
There's been a lot of pies to be eaten around here this year.
Flavored humble.
Yeah.
Big ones.
Big New York pies.
Those big New York pies.
Good pies.
And it's not a bucket slice either.
These are, yeah.
But you got to hold on to that beautiful thing in life called hope.
And that's just that there's a chance.
You know, we're not mathematically eliminated.
There's a lot to play for.
At the end of the day, you know, one thing that we can play for,
whether we're 10-0 or 3-7, is pride.
You know, pride in your performance,
pride in the product you're putting on the field,
not wanting to let your coaches down, your teammates down,
the guys in the locker room, the men and women that you see every day at work. There's got to be pride in that. There's got to be
pride that spurs you on on Monday night when you're tired and you just had a long flight and
you sit down and you watch your film. When you wake up Tuesday morning, you get after any
preparation. You go in the facility, you take care of your body, you do your workout or whatever it
might be, and then you get after it Tuesday afternoon, Tuesday evening.
Make sure you're ready to go Wednesday with questions, with ideas,
and hitting your coach up, making sure that, you know,
you get an early look at the plans.
You can come in with some questions and do all the little things.
You know, I think a lot of times when shit's not going your way, you know,
they want to make it about there's a big thing.
You know, it's a coach's fault or
player's fault or my fault or Todd's fault or Salah's fault, obviously, or Hackett's fault,
whoever you want to lay blame on. But a lot of times it comes down to just doing little things,
you know, it's little things that actually add up to the big things. And then, you know,
on the outside world, you just see like a very easy fix, you know, get rid of this person,
get rid of that person, do this, do that. But but in the end it's a lot of times just little habits little habits by players and
and preparation and coaches and and the building sometimes that make a difference between three
and seven and seven and three for us because there are multiple games that we could have won
just on the field but off the field sometimes where the wins and losses happen that we could have won just on the field. But off the field sometimes where the wins and losses happen and we forget about the Monday to Saturday game
that we aren't winning consistently enough,
I don't think, week to week.
Sunday product is what it is.
We've been inconsistent.
We've had good games, good halves, bad games,
inconsistent games.
Most of it has been not playing complimentary football
on all three sides, which obviously happened in Arizona.
We had a chance on our first two drives to stay tight,
regardless of what happened on our defense.
They went down and scored.
We had a chance to get seven there.
We didn't execute and sell for a field goal.
They went down and scored again.
Now it's 14-3.
We went down the field again, put together a nice drive
and didn't get seven again.
Now it's 14-6.
Then they go down and score.
It's 21-6 and they go down scores 21-6 and then you know we we uh went three and out and there's 24-6 at half then we have another chance to get back in the game we drive down the field and get inside
of 10 can't can't score uh sack fumble on fourth down unfortunately with the guy open to make it
23 24 13 or 14 if we go for two and then the game's different. So it's on us, you know, to fix it, obviously.
But you're not going to fix it by doing the same thing.
There's little tweaks in the Monday to Saturday, I think,
can turn this thing.
And you turn this thing, you beat a Colts team
that's had some up and down, you know, games themselves.
You know, some games they played really well and won,
some games where they probably felt
like they should have won. And, you know, they're four and six.
They're not out of it. They're still in it.
They got a lot of veteran players over there, a lot of pride,
but a chance for us to get a win, get into the bye week.
And then look at the back half, the last six of our, our schedule with,
you know, I said, after the game,
we've got a couple West Coast teams
coming out for 1 o'clock games.
We have three division games, and we're at Jacksonville.
So the crazy thing is there's still a lot of things right in front of us,
but it starts with finding a way to get a win against Indy this weekend.
You know what they say, and I appreciate your insight on all of that.
You've played, obviously, 18 years in the NFL now,
going to be a first ballot Hall of Famer.
You know, they say the little things take care of the big.
If you take care of the little things, the big things take care of themselves.
You know, that's kind of like the mindset process-driven people
are normally the people that end up lasting longest.
The same conversation that you just chatted about there
is happening here in Indianapolis, which kind of leads to a different question.
Do you think over your time, it has been a,
I don't want to say a decline because that would be negative,
but it's obviously a different time in like being a professional athlete and
like handling, like the main, keeping the main thing, the main thing.
And obviously you come on the show every single Tuesday.
So people will say, is he keeping the main thing?
The main thing.
It's like,
uh,
players have had Tuesday interviews,
uh,
in the NFL since the beginning of time.
But I'm just saying over here.
There's also a lot of people trying to copy what we were doing.
No,

Great times.
A lot of great times.
Wild times.
Yeah, great times.
There's been great times.
God, there's been great times.
Couple wild times.
Couple wild times.
Real wild times.
Wild times.
Yeah.
I was getting attacked in different languages.
I didn't even know.
I didn't know it was possible.
I was being called a big fat slob in a tank top in a different language.
That was a wild...
That was a wild time.
Anyways, have you seen a difference, though, in the generations?
Because you've been through a couple different now with the length of your career.
Unlike being a professional and understanding the buy-in on what it is to be an NFL player,
have you noticed any difference?
And I'm not saying you need to call it any names,
but we're in a much different time now than we were when guys literally had nothing else to do but ball you know
like that is now it's a vastly different space seemingly i think that's part of the progression
of the league is that the popularity has soared um there's been a lot of changes with schedule
we were talking to today you know back when i was a young player first second second third
fourth season especially the rules were are different in the offseason.
We're there in the middle of March,
and that gave you a lot of chances to work on little things
and learn how to speak the language of football,
learn how to be an expert of your offense,
learn how to speak the language of defenses
and learn fronts and pressures and coverages
and tendencies and alignments on defense.
So you can have a conversation in Rome and talk about, you know,
42 LX front and, and, uh,
middle fire pressure and the different stuff behind it and bringing flame
pressure and playing two slide blitz on behind and all these different little
terms you can learn to speak the language and also really hone the fun of
fundamentals. So you had, I mean, think about it.
You had six weeks before the draft,
mostly just young players working on the craft now you
know another young players uh you know nobody comes in till uh i believe middle of april the
earliest so you're already a month behind um the college game obviously influences all of it you
know and i think there's a lot of really good stuff in it you know when i was playing in high
school it was uh 21 personnel a lot of i-back
stuff uh even at college at cal they didn't take one snap in the gun now a lot of these kids have
taken every snap in the gun they clap for cadence they don't call a huddle um so there's some kind
of basic uh things that have to be learned on the fly by a number of people because linemen looking
over at the sideline they're getting their signal or they're on a wristband there's not a lot of communication uh and in turn what's that made because you don't
have the same type of time in the offseason and you have a different game in college is is you've
uh you've changed the way offenses uh play and some of it's really good and some of it
can showcase amazing skills of guys like a jayden daniels who's had a fantastic season
and obviously what lamar did in college some of the same stuff he's doing now.
And he's made himself into a fantastic passer from the pocket.
But the game has shifted.
I think there's a lot of good things in that.
But there's also the social media influence,
which has made all of the content very valuable
because now you can monetize all the content.
So back in the day, I say this a lot.
I'm the old guy saying how we used to play you know cards and dominoes
in the locker room now it's a you know guys talking about meeting up afterwards
playing video games and linking up or you know you're working on your social
media post in the locker room so it's changed the dynamic for sure you know
some good for sure some good and some just different not bad or good it's changed the dynamic for sure. Some good, for sure. Some good and some just different. Not bad or good.
It's just different.
It's a different day and age.
There's a lot more things to take your mind off of football.
And there's an insulation, I think, being in Green Bay
because you don't have a big city life or these restaurants you've got to go get to
or different things.
Talk about the media.
I always thought the media in Green Bay was great, but not easy.
But there's a lot of distractions in the end.
It comes down to, you know,
can you figure out a way to prepare that gets you ready to play?
Can you go out and execute what you prepared?
Because every offense, regardless of who's calling it, can be great or terrible.
It just comes down to execution.
And the coaches get blamed, but in the end it's the players who are out there trying to execute it. Every offense, regardless of who's calling it, can be great or terrible. It just comes down to execution.
And the coaches get blamed, but in the end,
it's the players who are out there trying to execute it.
And when there are mistakes, the majority of the time,
it comes down to preparation.
And you've got to look at what you were doing during your downtime,
how much communication were you having on the side,
and then practice habits too.
Great teams practice a certain way. And we've we've actually unfortunately had some really good weeks of practice because the product
hasn't always been great but i feel like the last three weeks have been the three best weeks of
practice we've had so nobody i don't feel like on offense felt like we're going to go out and
score six points now credit to their defense they got some really good players and uh you know
there's some good things but uh i often feel like it's us against us out there.
You know, we're kind of playing against ourselves.
And if we don't screw it up, you know, we can be a dynamic offense.
But, unfortunately, too many times we've been the ones screwing it up.
Yeah, that's everywhere, brother.
I don't think that's just one place.
I appreciate your insight into all that, too, because I haven't been in the locker room, obviously, as many things have changed over the last eight years, seven years. I could see how
it'd be difficult, you know, to keep the main thing, the main thing. But I think what a lot
of people don't understand, I'm not talking about your situation. I'm not talking about just the
Colts in a situation. I'm talking about every situation in the NFL with guys who haven't been
cut before or fired. It's like, you're here here just you are a piece of gum okay and whenever
your flavor runs out whether it's a an end of an ability or an end of a likingness or an end of
professional whatever it is whenever your flavor is no longer the one literally it is spit out
there this isn't and there's no rules on where that thing could be spit out or when it could be
your birthday yeah it could be it could be they will spit your ass out and move on to the next piece of gum,
and it's over.
Then you're sitting on a bar still wondering
what the hell happened.
It's like, well, you had your opportunity.
You didn't take advantage of it.
People don't think that's possible
because throughout their entire life,
everybody's wanted them on our team.
We want you on our team.
Please, God, be on our team.
Please, you, if you're on our team,
our team's better.
Then you get to the NFL, it's like,
everybody in this league has been that person at a different stage of their life so i feel like there's a lot
of opportunities potentially being blown by people you know and i don't like that and it's i'm not
talking about your situation but i think i am talking about like learning about this indianapolis
situation more and more and more and more and more and i'm like what do you do you have a chance to
be fucking not just ar this is like everybody you have a chance to be awesome you have a chance to be great and you're just kind of waste why you're just wasting there's
no reason to do that well i think i can speak on that a little bit i think um there's a game
within the game that i think people would just miss and if you're uh you're an average player
the game of playing the game within the game will allow you to to have uh you know a decent
little career if you're a good player uh you can have a long career if you're a great player you
can have a hall of fame trends transcendent career the game within the game to me i was thinking
about this a few weeks ago it comes down to four things and the comedy is that not the comedy but
the irony i guess is that three of these are are basically team rules i don't know if it's all in
the shanahan system but it was uh it was the three team rules we had in Green Bay,
same in the Jets with slightly different wording.
And then I've added a fourth one that's just kind of the key
to sticking around the league, playing the game within the game.
Now, on top of the game within the game is talent, ability, production.
But the game within the game is,
rule number one is put the team first.
That involves some humility, not making it by yourself. Rule number one is put the team first so that involves some humility
not making it by yourself uh rule number two is no excuses uh or no complaining rule number three
is be on time be prepared and the fourth rule that i've thrown in there is be a good teammate
and listen we all you know at times you know there's been times that we've either pressed
those rules or not adhere to those rules completely And some of us who have been around forever probably have more opportunity
to make a mistake and to stick around.
But if you just do those four things, and I know it seems simple, but it's not,
because I've seen guys get themselves cut by not following those rules.
But if you just do those four things, just Ted Thompson, like Ted Thompson used to always say,
wrap yourself around the team.
Just don't be the guy always complaining and making excuses.
And then be on time, be prepared.
That little one, you know, I'm like super old school and weird, I guess.
I have a yellow, you know, legal pad that I like take notes on and flip pages over.
That's just how I need to do it.
People have asked me why I do it that way.
And I say, well, I have this three-time rule.
I want to hear it first. then I want to write it third
so I hear the play or the install that we're doing then I say the play either like to myself
and then I write it down now I've given myself three times to remember the formation the play
the potential can or adjustment, and then my responsibility.
And then as I'm writing, I'm writing and often it involves other people's responsibilities.
And that's just how I prepare.
Now that we have, you know, guys, everybody has iPads.
Back in the day, we had little computers, you know, we had computers.
I had my computer out, I had my notepad out.
Now, you know, it's your iPad or whatever they got.
And then, you know, I still take notes. I don't know that maybe the, you know,
that is better than what it used to be where everybody, nobody had a,
you know, computer.
You had to watch film at work and you had to take notes off of, you know,
the PowerPoint that was up there that eventually got to some sort of,
you know, Adobe PowerPoint. But, um, you're so, yeah, if you just do,
if you just do those four things though you give yourself a chance
at least you give yourself a chance and i'd like to you know there's been a lot of guys over the
years who've done that who may not have been the most talented guys and one of these guys i actually
saw him recently he's still i think he's coaching the league now is anthony levine you remember
you remember tony levine aj oh yeah oh yeah he was backup backup safety for us and i remember
he's in the peace squad early and he and he always brought energy every single day and
We called him the master of disaster because sometimes he would screw up the cards, you know a little bit
But he always played balls to the wall and would make plays in practice, but he was also an energy guy
But what he did do was he was always on time and prepared. He knew all the special teams stuff
He you know didn't make it about himself.
He checked his ego at the door.
And you know what Tony Levine did?
He ended up getting picked up by Baltimore,
played a long time in the league, double-digit years in the league,
became a team captain, a core special teamer,
and a guy you can count on to come in and play safety for you.
And with all due respect, Tony,
like you weren't the most talented guy in the league.
Jeez.
Master disaster.
But he got by.
Great dude.
Not just got by.
Great dude, yeah.
He not only got by, but he excelled because he understood the little things
and never gave them a reason to get rid of them.
And in my opinion, you can't have enough Tony Levine's on your roster.
And he's one of those examples of a guy who just got it.
He's like, I got it.
He's senior, right?
He has a senior or junior afterwards, right, Tony Levine?
Yeah.
Yeah, okay, I do know him from special teams.
Weapon.
Absolute weapon.
Yeah, absolute weapon.
I do remember him.
41?
No.
I think 41.
41?
Yeah, 41.
Great career with the Ravens.
Yeah.
I remember Tony Levin.
Yeah, yeah.
I do as well.
And he's now, Zito's telling me he's assistant special teams coordinator
down at the Titans with Colt down there.
That's nice.
It's like.
Who's another guy?
The other guy.
The other guy.
Just like same, same mold.
All those things Anthony was or is saying with Colt.
Out of Montana.
And there's no way he's supposed to be in the NFL for eight to ten years.
But just like every day, what do you need?
How do you need it?
Yeah.
Byron Storer is another guy.
Byron Storer would play with me at Cal.
He was a teamer.
He got in good with Gruden.
He was, you know, never going to be a full-time fullback in 21.
But was a core special teamer.
And then he went on to coach for a long time.
He's still coaching, I believe, with Rich and Green Bay.
You know, just guys who get it stick around.
And you need those glue guys to kind of get the game within the game.
And the guys that don't get it, you know, if you're a great player,
it's not going to work out for you.
If you're not a great player, you're going to be out of the league pretty quick.
Yeah, very quick.
Cup of coffee, they say about you.
But if you're a great player and you also have that entire four core there,
man, that's what we're all trying to, you know, that's what you're all trying.
I would hope.
Calais Campbell.
Boom.
Causing Calais.
How about him last night?
He went bananas.
Calais Campbell.
Did he?
Yeah.
Did he?
What did he do?
Caused an interception.
Had a couple sacks, three tackles.
I mean, just fucking full chaos.
Kaleos Campbell.
30, 38, I think, isn't he?
38.
Yeah, 38 years old.
Oh, I love it.
There we go, yeah.
Yeah, he went bananas last night.
And his energy, always high.
I assume he has never been late to anything.
And then he also was the one who pulled a car over when Tyreek, Hey, what's going on?
Be a good teammate.
I mean, you're talking like everything all in one situation.
6'8 and that voice, too.
He's got a pretty voice.
And the way he moves.
Like, I've never really seen Shaq in like a public setting.
I assume it's all very positive.
The way Calais operates in those scenes, it's all everybody, how you do them,
make everybody feel happy.
And then he moves along.
Walter Payton, man, I mean.
Calais is a Hall of Famer.
Troy said it last night.
Troy, I think, has a lot to say in this entire
thing, Troy feels like. He was like,
he'll be a first ballot Hall of Famer whenever
he decides to retire in this entire thing,
is what Troy said. Do you feel that way as well?
I do. I really do. I think
he was a
dominant player for many, many years
in his career and he still obviously can player for many, many years in his career,
and he still obviously can get it done.
But, yes, I definitely think so.
That long at that position.
Crazy.
You know, with every human liking you, too.
Like, that's not normal.
Like, every human likes him.
I think that goes into it for being immortalized for the game forever,
you know, which is what the Hall of Fame is, I think, in the end.
Now, I'm not in it or have a vote, but I would say put his ass in care go ahead AJ you
might be in there you might be in there for media at some point you keep this
thing going contribution to sport I know I've already thought about that that'd
be crazy that'd be crazy if that whole thing happened been nominated three
times already no big deal no big deal I do appreciate the fact that they feel
obligated to nominate me because of the chance.
Hall of Fame
doesn't mean anything.
Yeah,
and also the chance
of the contribution of sport.
So I think they're trying
to like...
The law branch?
Yeah, I think.
So I appreciate them.
Hey, it's an honor
to be on that list
every single year.
It's an honor to be on.
Hey, congrats.
Congrats.
Thank you.
Put Shane Leckler in there.
Okay?
Vinatieri needs to be first ballot too.
I don't even know what we're talking about
here, but I guess there's some drawback on
a kicker being...
A kicker's going to be first ballot? I guess there
is some people over there that feel that way. Vinatieri
needs to be the first one over there. Put him in.
Put him in. He said it.
That means a lot more. That means a lot more.
Go ahead, AJ.
Aaron, is it easier to do little things or be motivated when things aren't going great?
Like I know, at least from personal experience, like when you're pissed at somebody or things aren't going great,
it's a little easier to wake up and go do the little things that you might not want to do.
I'm just wondering, is that one of the positives you can have from things not going great right now,
but everything kind of out there in front of you if you do go on a run?
Interesting.
I would say it's the opposite, honestly, for most people. I think
self-motivated people, I think you're exactly right. I think when things aren't going well,
it's easier to wake up and go kind of like bite down on a bit and, all right, let's get this
shit done. That's my mentality. I don't know that that's the shared sentiment, though,
for everybody. I almost think that the attitude is, and this is a football adage,
but winning kind of glosses over everything.
I think a lot of times, sometimes, you know, winning and dealing with success
is the most difficult adversity because you start kind of wrestling your laurels.
Oh, I didn't study a whole lot last week, so I don't need to do it.
We won.
We're not going to lose.
And I think every great team or run kind of goes through that The whole lot of last week, I don't need to do it. We won. We're not going to lose.
And I think every great team or run kind of goes through that where we won 19 in a row at one point in Green Bay.
And there was probably some things that started slipping a little bit
that we weren't quite aware of.
And unfortunately, we lost in the division round that year
after going 15-1.
So obviously there's some things that were going there.
I think for great competitors, yeah, when you're down,
that's when your back's against the wall and you've got to examine everything.
But I don't know if that's the sentiment with every player in the league
when things aren't going great.
You would think that would perspective, you know.
That's why, like, in these college season,
whenever you're thinking about a team, it's like they got embarrassed the week before their coach is gonna they're gonna go
back they're gonna kind of dive in more i think that's why aj you probably feel that way too
because every time you've ever done terrible it's like that next week the anxiety's so high about it
happening again that's that's how i was pretty much uh yeah that's how i am too that's how i am
yeah i just so badly want to just fucking let's get to Sunday. Let's get to Sunday, man.
Let's go.
Yeah.
Do it again.
Yeah.
Yeah, and I was thinking, if I do that again, I'm going to have no job.
And I'm going to.
Yeah, that's healthy.
That's a healthy fear.
I think that's a motivation thing.
Like, healthy fear.
I think so too.
I'm not going to be here anymore.
Yeah.
Not enough.
Adam Vinatieri, we were just talking about him.
He was in his 20-something year, 22nd year or whatever.
Whatever the fuck.
Whatever it was.
It was old. It had been able to vote.
It had been able to buy tobacco and scratch off his career.
And there was something that needed to be said to somebody.
Like a coach.
And Vinatieri was
certainly the guy that should go
say something to coach or whatever.
Special teams coach.
I'm not doing that, he says.
I'm like, why are you not doing that? He goes. I'm so old so expensive They'll fire me. I'll get fired. I'm like Vinny. You're not getting you're not gonna get fired
He's like yeah, they will get my you don't think they want my ass out of here for a younger cheaper model
You're do you even fucking know the league like he started like talking shit to me and I'm like
Vinny come they are not gonna cut you Vinny. i can i promise you they're not gonna go he's like okay no you know
everything yeah you've been in the league for a long time okay you know and then he just kind of
like walks off or whatever and it was like vinny had an actual fear for every day he was in there
for whatever reason i'm too old i'm too expensive now whenever he's young he was uh didn't get
drafted oh this is gonna happen in the middle of his career oh they're gonna think i'm gonna get
hurt like if i miss a couple it's like every day vinny thought he was gonna get fired if he didn't get drafted. Oh, this is going to happen. In the middle of his career, they're going to think I'm going to get hurt. Like, if I miss a couple – it's like every day Vinny thought he was going to get fired
if he didn't do something great.
It's like that's a healthy thing to have.
I don't know how many people got it.
Seems like not a lot in the Coltsville area.
None.
Can't get comfortable.
Matt Slater, he was one of my favorite teammates.
Every day, like how he showed up, you know, kind of like the same mode of all these guys
that we've been talking about.
Like, every day he was like, D-Buck, man, like my ass,
I'll be playing for the Argonauts.
Every time, every rep, there's a joint practice because like Slater was,
I mean, balls to the wall.
Every rep, didn't matter what he was doing, scout team, defense,
wide receiver, special teams, whatever.
But moving on, I got a good question for you.
I think a good question.
It is a good question, I think.
For these young quarterbacks, and you talked about kind of obviously you've been in
the league forever so you you know march otas all this shit now i feel like time is so much cut back
in the building is it almost a necessity for these young quarterbacks kind of have an off-season
quarterback coach or somebody i guess third party or somebody they can have on their team
they kind of check in with workout work through things throughout the offseason no receivers they can go and run
routes maybe catch balls from receivers db same movement stuff but as far as knowing schemes a
lot of things are pretty similar uh team to team but for qb trying to develop with so many things
on their plate so early uh what do you think about that offseason quarterback coach type
things as a young quarterback's going to come development? Yeah, I mean, I have an interesting perspective
because I never had that. I never really felt like I needed an offseason kind of quarterback
guru with me. I mean, I had Tom Clements. Tom is the best quarterback guru that I know.
And so I got to work with him starting in March. But I do think the off seasons are so very important for young players to figure out how to take care of your body during that time and how much football to do, how much clearing your mind to do.
But at some point, it's got to kick in.
This is a full time job.
I think it's a different game, you know, than when I was a young player where victory Monday meant you don't come in Monday,
you don't come in Tuesday.
That's not really the case anymore.
No more see you Wednesdays?
What?
I joke about that, you know, the few times we won.
It's twice around Thursday.
So, see you Wednesday didn't really hit as much as, you know,
when we actually won the game on Sunday.
You felt real good that first time. I did feel good in Tennessee. Yeah, so seeing Wednesday didn't really hit as much as when we actually won the game on Sunday. You felt real good that first time.
I did feel good in Tennessee.
Yeah, see you Wednesday, yeah.
But I do feel like when I say it's a full-time job,
that means you're in every day.
You're doing something football every single day.
So even if it was like, hey, you're kind of off on Wednesday,
just get a workout on monday or tuesday it's never
really you know maybe one twice at most in a season where you're like i'm gonna take tuesday
fully off and not go in but if i were to do that you know i'd be in the tubs i'd be in the cold
plans i'd be in sauna i'd be doing red light therapy i'd give you in body work oh uh you
never you're never just off i think that's be doing body work. You're never just off.
I think that's the thing.
You're never just off.
And even in the off season, I think it's important to find a way to turn that switch off.
But you're turning off your brain.
You're not turning off your body.
You've got to still take care of your body.
I think if I was a young player, what I would do is I would seek out a veteran guy who knows the game
and just pick his
brain and get a mentor. Get a mentor that's played at a high level, that's done it, that can help you
that you maybe watch film with once a week or twice a week, or maybe you do fundamental stuff
together. Maybe just talk about the role of being a CEO as a quarterback. I think that's really,
really important. And sometimes you're lucky enough to have that guy in the room.
And you've been talking about Anthony.
Like Joe Flacco to me would be a perfect guy.
Joe's won a Super Bowl.
He's been around for a long time.
He's played on a couple other teams.
Played at a high level for a long, long time.
Like what a great resource to just be like, man,
let me just pick this through his brain and learn.
Or if I'm a young player
reaching out to a Matt Stafford, Matt's been around forever. He played at a super high level.
Or retired guys like a Matt Ryan. Matt's a great dude. Reaching out to a guy like that and say,
hey, can we just talk once a week about what it's like to play in this league, what I need to do,
how I can get better, how I can figure out my Monday to Saturday schedule? Just like,
how did you prepare? What did you watch on Monday?
What did you watch on Tuesday?
What did you watch on Wednesday?
How did you approach the install meetings during the week?
You know, what days did you like to work out on to make your body feel best?
Any like little hacks, you know, that you like that helped you feel good coming up to
a game day?
Like, I don't know.
That's, as a young player, if you don't have in the room, or if you do, like having an
outside resource like that, I think would would be really good. That's whole,
that's the whole convo about these young quarterbacks right now. And obviously Jaden's
having great success and CJ had great success last year and he's going to continue to have great
success. So I think, you know, fans are like expecting them to be great immediately upon
getting dropped in there. And then it's like, you start looking back in time outside of Peyton.
Okay. Peyton is different, but he has the most interceptions
in the history of any rookie quarterback.
And I think Nick Saban maybe said, Coach Nick Saban came out and said,
Peyton's mental toughness was built up to have a lot of failures
in that first year as a rookie quarterback.
But you talk about everybody else, yourself included,
you didn't have to play immediately, watch it,
and inevitably becomes
one of the greatest of all time it's like i think that is a huge development for quarterbacks to
have and to get is like it's and take a breath even after everything you just did high school
college to get to this point it's been a lot now take a breath and learn what this next one is
and go forward but some places it's never going to be possible
because they need it now, need it now.
That's why hearing you say reach out to these retired guys is cool
because is that the quarterback community?
I don't think I know.
Quarterback community pretty opening and welcoming?
Like if people reach out, is that a normal thing?
I mean, I think so.
I mean, every time when I was a young player
and I used to see some of the older guys at Tahoe especially,
it was always kind of like, hey, you're in the fraternity.
You're one of us.
The Dan Marinos and John Elways.
Steve Young has been a good friend of mine for a while,
somebody I've reached out to when I was a younger player to ask questions about certain things.
He was great.
I think guys, I don't know, I think guys would enjoy that, you know,
to still be connected, to help a young guy going through it.
It is different.
You know, I sat for three years.
Jay Love sat for three years.
You know, there's been guys.
Tom sat behind Drew.
Tom sat, yeah.
Patrick sat behind Alex Smith.
Yeah.
I mean, and the flip side of that is some guys are ready to play in year one,
but that doesn't end the story. You know, like I think our media world wants to crown a guy after
a year. Second year is really hard because now you've got 17 games of film plus playoffs on a
guy to try and figure out how to stop them. And that's why it's so impressive for a guy like
Lamar or anybody to win multiple MVvps because you've had years to
game plan this guy and try and figure out okay you know there was a time where everybody was
zero blitz and lamar you know let's zero blitz lamar like crazy well they got through that
stretch there's stretches your career where you got to get through whatever the label is on how
to stop you know you and the way you play and first you got to establish what the label is
because you got to go out and ball out and then. And first you've got to establish what the label is because you've got to go
out and ball out and then them try and figure out how to stop you.
But it doesn't stop after one good year.
I made the Pro Bowl my first year.
Well, okay, well, then do it again the next year.
You know, like it's going to be harder.
Now you have six games, these division opponents,
that spend a lot of their offseason scouting those three games,
trying to figure out how to stop you.
So the second year is really hard.
Then you've got to kind of get over a lump at some point
where now there's enough film out there that you've seen a lot more,
but you're always working on your game and always working on your preparation
and always working on the little things.
And I think any older quarterback, whether still playing or retired,
I think that's part of the fun part of the legacy
is to help the next generation.
So I don't know how much that goes on.
I think it would help certain people in certain positions.
But even like Jaden after this year, I mean, it's going to be a good year.
Whatever how he finishes, they've got a real good team.
You know, they'll probably be in the playoffs.
Offensive Rookie of the Year, congrats.
Offensive Rookie of the Year, yeah.
I mean, but then there's going to be 17 plus games of film out there on you and you're going to have to
watch that as intently as they're watching it to figure out how they're going to try and stop you
and what you can do better. And then you reinvent yourself every single year. Um, and which is why
it's so impressive to see a guy like Lamar, bring him up again because, um, he has gone from the
most dynamic athlete in the league, which he was, and I'm not saying he's not still.
I mean, he's got to be in the top couple if he's not still the most dynamic.
I mean, with the ball in his hands, it's like him and Tyreek Hill are two of the scariest
guys.
Yeah.
But now he's done such a great job of throwing the ball on time from the pocket that makes it really tough to stop.
What did they do to you?
Patrick Mahomes, they won what, cover two, and just said he's going to get bored.
He's going to get bored.
He's not going to be able to handle running the ball
and then having to play defense.
That's what they did to Patrick Mahomes.
He obviously gets through it.
They won a Super Bowl during the entire thing.
What did they do to you?
What was the first thing that they started doing to you, do you recall?
Well, it usually starts, at least back then, it started with pressure.
They would try and pressure you early and see if you can pick up pressure,
if you can deal the ball, if you can throw hot,
if you can do production adjustments.
Then a lot of times, and it went for us, you know,
it was playing a lot of too high.
All right, can you be patient?
Can you be patient taking check downs?
Can you be patient throwing the ball?
A tail as old as time.
And then for me, because, you, because I was extending play so much,
it was really the rush patterns that changed.
So it was really box rushes, like interior, very stout in the middle,
and not rushing past the quarterback.
Keep you in the well, brother.
Keep you in the well, brother.
That's what they're trying to do.
Yeah.
They're still doing that because you're fucking wide open out there.
Hell yeah.
Don't ever forget it.
I mean, that sucks for DBs, though.
What's that?
Like quarterbacks like Aaron or like Big Ben or somebody else.
Like, yeah, keep them in the well, but that's, you know.
Four or five seconds.
Four seconds for you guys to adjust.
And then when you play, when these quarterbacks play with these receivers,
so we see with Patrick and Travis, like he knows as soon as he breaks,
like Travis, okay, I'm going this way.
And then boom, he comes, the ball is right on him.
Devontae, Jordy, whoever it is, like you play with these guys so long,
you know their intention, you know their body language.
So it's like, yeah, keeping them in a well is great.
But then when you have that extra time where you've got to cover where it doesn't matter.
You can call the perfect coverage on third and eight,
but then you've got to extend like you can't cover that shit.
Five-second plays all of a sudden become a nightmare
for those who have to run all over the field and can't do it.
Well, that was always, I think, the backbreakers.
DB, you'd probably agree with this.
You know, when they clamp us, when they would clamp us
and I would extend the play and get out of the pocket
and find somebody after, you know, five or six seconds,
those are backbreakers for the defense
because you just don't have a defense.
We were talking about that with DJ Reed. He was laughing.
He said, yeah, man, I just wasn't ready for the 45-yard comeback route.
He's covering a guy, covering a guy. The guy's running vertical. He's running with him, and then the guy breaks his route off in a
long scramble and completes a pass. He said, yeah, I didn't have that on the
old tape I watched this week.
He didn't have that route.
He didn't show me that route in the cut-ups.
Hey, that's a perfect segue for this particular question
because I guess 27 of the 35 sacks that have come for this one particular player
are four-plus-second plays.
Yep.
So a lot of people don't really know, and he's a rookie.
He's young.
I mean, it kind of all ties to this.
Go ahead, Con, man.
Yeah, Aaron, big news today is Shane Walron getting fired as the Bears OC and obviously because of that there's a lot of
conversation about Caleb in the offensive line in Chicago and all that stuff but what do you
think is kind of going on with Caleb just personally when it comes to all these things
happening you know there's a radio show that's saying you know some vets wanted Waldron out and
they were asking if Bajan could
get some time but for Caleb as a rookie you know what do you think he's kind of going through
mentally and how do you think the rest of the season kind of goes for him here
after the change at OC and kind of getting a fresh voice in his helmet now?
Well unfortunately that's the nature of our league now, right? It's coaches and play callers on both sides of the ball aren't making it through a season.
There's been a lot of quarterbacks who've had rough starts to their career with multiple play callers.
I feel like at one point Alex Smith had, you know, four different play callers for his first four years or something.
I believe in San Fran.
You can fact check me on that.
But I know there's a number of play callers and there's been a lot of,
you know,
a lot of guys who figure it out over the years.
But it doesn't make it easy on the quarterback for sure.
There's just not a lot of patience anymore in the league.
It's,
it's,
it's,
you know,
get this guy out of here.
Unfortunately,
what happens,
and I really mean this is a lot of it is rinse and repeat under the guise of a brand-new scheme, brand-new approach,
and that's the way the league is going too often.
There's not the patience to go, listen, I believe in X, this person,
this team, this coordinator, this player,
and we're going to weather these storms because it's going to make us
a mentally tough group or a mentally tough person, and we're going to weather these storms because it's going to make us a mentally tough group
or a mentally tough person, and we're going to get behind these people.
And this is, I don't care what you have to say outside the building.
This is what we're going to do.
And for a young player to come in like that, be drafted first overall
with all the pressure, scrutiny, expectations,
obviously with the roster moves they made,
and then you get rid of the guy calling the plays after, what, nine games? Ten games?
Something like that?
That's a tough deal
for him. But I don't know him.
I know a little bit
about him. Don't give him advice!
He's strong enough. I'm not giving him advice.
He's strong enough.
No, I'm joking.
That's a moment between he and C.J. Stroud.
That's a moment between he and C.J. Stroud, which obviously he moment between he and C.J. Stroud, which obviously he doesn't.
He's strong enough mentally to get through this.
He is.
He is.
You know?
And Chicago's a great sports town.
They've got great sports fans.
But the consensus for all fans is if we're not winning now,
everybody needs to get the hell out.
And listen, there are places, I'm sure, that are broken.
You know, locker rooms that may not be sticking together
or staffs that need to shake up from time to time.
But I would continue to preach patience for players and for coaches.
But you know what it starts with?
Ownership.
Ownership has to come out and make strong statements. This is the plan. This is what we're doing. We're going to trust the process or trust the guys that are in place unless there's a major problem, an issue, an arrest, or something that throws a wrench in the plans. A lot of those comments. I don't know.
I'm just thinking of what could derail.
Hey, listen, we're giving this thing three years.
You know, this is what we're doing.
And I don't care what the outside opinions are.
But unfortunately, I think there's too often the opinions of,
whether it's the social media world or the incredible experts out there
talking about football, actually impacts decision-making.
Bill Tota said yesterday.
Bill Belichick told us that yesterday.
A billion-dollar organizations.
Bill Tota said yesterday we were mind-blown
because we had heard that that was potentially the case in some spots
because our name had been mentioned maybe in a coach
that had to answer for something that I fucking said on my show for him.
He's like, do you know that I had to actually, because you, and I'm like,
oh no, that can't be real. And then we asked Bill yesterday,
he's like back in Cleveland, they were saying things in the morning paper.
He would have to answer the questions that were basically coming through the
opinion parts of newspapers. He's like,
this has been happening since the beginning of time, seemingly with teams.
That's wild. That is wild to think about.
But hey, makes it fun,
doesn't it? That's what we've been
saying this whole time. We should be
listened to. Duh. Yeah.
We should be the ones.
Just give us a team.
We'll be back tomorrow with another
great show that'll impact the NFL.
It was right on the heels
of the Broncos thing. We were like,
this guy can't be out here. What are we doing?
This guy cannot be out here.
That was tough. That blocked field
goal for the Chiefs. Did you see that? Did you see
the Chiefs win on a blocked field goal?
I did. What did you say?
It was just the worst form I've ever seen
from that particular spot, too.
Field side. Field side.
Field side.
Field side and that's like the most important part.
Those three right there are a big deal, obviously, because science,
that's where the ball is headed.
So for him just to like tuck his head, squat his ass, be on his heels,
like that is the last thing we need.
And I would like to let Alex Forsyth know that, you know,
I said a lot of things.
It was about the way he was on the field.
And it's not his fault.
He shouldn't be there, clearly.
I saw some film from earlier games.
He should not be there.
Like, that is, he should not be there.
That's just the way it is.
Somebody's got to point it out.
Well, somebody should have seen that.
He's probably thinking the same thing.
Thank God.
Jesus Christ.
He's put a circle on me.
Thank God.
Coach, give me an eye.
At least you're doing it as someone who's been in those meetings
and stuff like that versus, like, a columnist who has no clue. Yeah, I agree. Oh, they me an eye. At least you're doing it as someone who's been in those meetings and stuff like that versus a columnist
who has no clue. Yeah, I agree.
Oh, they don't have a clue? What do you mean?
No, what I was going to say was
Guys, an AP vote.
I used to sit
my last year in Green Bay and Rich Basacci
in special teams meetings when I could
and he used to always
say the most difficult position
on the field goal team was those spots
right there those three spots to the rush side and it was just like you know he would challenge
those guys and i mean i love rich in general he's a fucking amazing coach you know and great
motivator um but he would talk about how difficult that because he's like one of the most difficult
positions in sports it's terrible you just got guys just trying to fucking run you over every time.
Yeah, and the
actual technique is
called die slowly.
So that first word, pretty important.
Gonna die. Okay, that is just
we just need you to die slowly.
Which, once again, that guy was not supposed
to be on the front lines. Nope, nope.
That guy was not supposed to be there.
That was not his
role. And on the flip side,
Leo... Was the kick going in, though?
Could you tell trajectory wise?
Will said it felt too quick.
Right away. He exploded through that ball.
You would have thought, with where
it was blocked at, you would think that would be like an A
rush, an A-gap rush, with where...
Because he gets over so quick.
I mean, he is right in front
of the ball. That very rarely happens
in fielders, which goes back to
the technique, which is the opposite crop.
Very rarely happens.
Listen.
I don't think he had control of his body.
What? Possessed.
What do you think?
Okay.
That's a tape.
Okay. Okay. That's a take. Okay.
Pretty quick.
Okay.
Obviously.
Witchcraft.
It could have been.
I mean, the aura is real.
True.
That concert was insane.
I know you've been to one or two.
The Taylor Swift concert.
Two.
Two, yeah.
Insane.
Insane.
I couldn't even imagine what it was like over there at MetLife.
I don't know.
It was insane, yeah.
I was with your buddy Miles over there.
Just talked to Glenn.
I don't know if you heard of Miles' buddy Glenn.
We just talked to him in the first hour in this entire thing.
How was Miles doing?
There was a big rivalry between those two.
Oh, no.
Big rivalry.
Both handsome ones, but the ones you want.
One of them can really fucking dance.
There is now, probably.
That's Rooster and Hangman.
It's Glenn.
Glenn can't dance.
Is that the rumor? I don't know if Glenn can or can't dance. I bet Glenn can dance. There is now, probably. That's Rooster and Hangman. It's Glenn. Glenn can't dance. Is that the rumor? I don't know
if Glenn can or can't dance, but I know
Miles Miller. That's what
Miles said. Yeah, I don't know.
I did hear Miles say that.
Now that you mention it, I think
I did hear Miles was doing his shit
right in front of us. He said he
couldn't drum either.
The drumline
movie. Yeah, yeah. They can't read the music. Yeah, I remember couldn't drum either you know you know the the drum line movie yeah yeah i mean they can and
they can't read the music yeah i remember that entire thing a little different movie but he was
uh let's say let's say let's say he was uh he was at aaron's he was at your birthday yeah it was at
your birthday he was uh he was dancing and drumming at the same time. He said, can fucking hangman do this?
I don't think so.
He did that sweet.
He can dance his ass off.
Truly.
I watched Miles Teller's feet start to spark flames on his dance,
literally while they were fucking moving in front of him.
I got captivated by that.
And plus, he also knows the most important thing in the history of mankind.
No one. Oh, yeah history of mankind. No one.
Oh, yeah.
And I mean no one.
All pizzas are hot.
Sent me a picture of him eating Pizza Hut pizza.
Sent me a picture of him eating Pizza Hut pizza.
He said, I fucking love when you guys talk about Pizza Hut.
It is.
I fucking love when you guys talk about Pizza Hut.
Legend.
Then he sent me a picture of his Pizza Hut pizza.
That was hilarious.
Goddamn right.
Yeah, how does somebody eat that much Pizza Hut and look like that?
I don't get it.
Good question.
What are you saying?
You tell us.
You tell us.
What are you saying?
He's a genetic freak.
I mean, Glenn mentioned Ozempic, didn't he, this morning or not?
He did not.
I don't think Glenn did.
No, he didn't?
No, he did not.
It was a different show. I think he was on The View talking about it. Oh,'t think Glenn did. No, he didn't? No, he did not. It was a different show.
I think he was on The View talking about it.
Oh, yeah, of course.
Of course.
That was probably it.
You watched The View, definitely.
Yeah, you've seen clips, certainly, over the last couple weeks.
Same premise.
Same show.
You're right.
Same premise.
Talk, we're viewing.
Same show, right?
Same as this.
Yeah, we're viewing, we're talking.
Yeah, the whole thing.
Got it going on.
What a time.
Anyway, so let's talk about, can we talk about a little drama?
There's a little drama going on.
Yeah, for sure.
Tony Diggs has a question for you.
Yeah, and I want to read this quote word for word
so it doesn't get taken out of context.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Okay, let me just read the quote.
It says, you want to win games and do great things
with those type of legends who put in more time and work
than Mike McCarthy ever did.
Okay.
That was not.
Is Mike McCarthy a hard worker?
Word for word.
There's a lot of words you left out there at the beginning.
I mean, just, that was a quote.
Who said that?
Micah Parsons.
Aaron, listen, there's no reason.
That's what he said.
There's no reason to get what he said there's no reason
to get into
I did not know
that's how that was
going to go
word for word
recreation
if you will
of Micah Parsons
Micah Parsons
was asked about
Mike McCarthy
being on the last
year of his contract
Micah Parsons
then explained
about how
coaches
and Mike knows
this coaches
can go coach
for another 10 years
he's worried about
like Zach Martin
and other guys
that have been around
Dallas Cowboys
and then he ended it with saying,
those guys, those legends, have done
more work than Mike McCarthy could ever
do or something like that. That's very kind of you to phrase
it that way. It was definitely different.
It was certainly a shock. He fucking
killed him. It was certainly a shock.
It was just, does Mike McCarthy work hard?
What are your thoughts on Mike McCarthy? I think that would be
a good angle on this entire thing.
He said he didn't intend to bury anybody on his show.
He said that.
So we got to take him for his word.
But it certainly wasn't.
But he did.
Does he have a Tuesday show?
I think he'd go Monday.
Monday.
I love Mike.
I love Mike.
Mike's a Pittsburgh tough through and through, man.
Love Mike.
13 incredible years together
so
I ain't got much to say besides that man
Mike's my boy
I love Mike and
you know sometimes some people say things
I've said a lot of things I won't say back
I'd like to sit back
but hold on to that one
you say words going out
nothing about COVID of course I'd like to sit back, but hold on to that one. You know, we'll keep saying where it's going out.
Nothing about COVID, of course.
No, of course not.
Or treatments.
But the, or, you know, whatever.
Mike McCarthy had some jokes yesterday.
He did.
Because there was a conversation about the Cowboys stadium and the sun getting in. And there was, they had an actual shade blocking the press conference because of the sun that was getting in.
So there's just so much going on in Dallas right now,
and Mike McCarthy's right in the middle of all of it.
Listen, what I know about Mike is if anybody can handle that down there,
it's Big Mike.
Big Mike is built for adversity.
And, you know, I know just talking to some guys that play down there,
and I read part of an article that was out a few weeks ago
about the tours and stuff that are down there.
You know, there's some interesting things that goes on in Dallas for sure.
I've never been there, so I can't speak firsthand.
But if anybody can handle what's going on in there, it's Big Mike.
So I hope, you know, I feel bad for Dak getting banged up,
but I hope they can figure things out.
And hopefully, I think Mike is almost back, isn't he?
He played.
Yeah, he played.
His first game.
Oh, he played?
Very fast.
Very fast.
Still so fast.
Still got it.
Still good for great football.
Yeah.
Well, I love Mike and hope they can
get it sorted out
down there.
Yeah, I hope they do
too.
Shake their hands.
Big Mike McCarthy
said I talked to
Micah in person
with him like
gentlemen do.
Man, man, man.
Big Mike football.
And then we moved on.
Yeah.
Teammates don't
understand what's
going on here.
I'm working my ass
off of fucking
losing it.
What do you want
from me?
McCarthy, I like this comment.
When it does create questions for others in the locker room,
something that I've always done, conversation has to happen.
I don't know if this was the case, but I will say,
I said something that I wanted back in a post-game press conference.
And the next day, once I walked in the facility eight different people
said hey see mike it's like it was like everybody in the building know when 12 gets in the building
and you see him you tell his ass get upstairs i wonder if it was and listen i apologize uh you
know we hugged it out we had a couple laughs but um i wonder if it was the same
like hey if you see when micah gets in there you see 11 in the building he's number 11 right
you see 11 in the you tell him come see come see big mike listen michael might need to talk to you
i hope so just because i know what that felt like for me it was like damn how many people knew it's
like cafeteria the janitor said it, the equipment guy, trainer.
I couldn't even do any treatment.
Nope, get up there.
Getting called to the carpet.
Everybody knows.
Hey, listen, we're not even allowed to touch your legs right now.
You got to go.
Yeah, talk to Mike.
Get your ass out of here.
Get up there.
Jeez, that's what the equipment room, yeah.
Man, the cafeteria, yeah.
Everybody knew about it.
Yeah, everybody got called.
It's like a team-wide meeting.
Hey, excuse me.
Hey, you see that dumbass come in here, you tell him to get up here.
Maybe even show the video of what you said.
Okay.
Did you hear what he just said?
So he doesn't talk to any of you until he talks to me.
Okay, send him up here.
What a time.
Big Mike's a legend.
I'm excited to see how it all works out.
Doesn't seem like it's going to be great in the end.
Speaking of great in the end, an NFC North team is looking for that.
Ty has a question for you, Aaron.
Yeah, Aaron, last week we talked about Jared Goff
and kind of were gushing praise on him, rightfully so.
And then obviously he has arguably the worst game of his career on Sunday night,
throws five picks.
I don't think you've definitely never had a situation like that,
but is that just like a Murphy's Law type deal
where just everything that could have possibly went wrong did go wrong and
how easy i mean obviously they win so it's a little bit easier but how easy is it to flush
a performance like that moving on to the next week i mean i think if you've got a good process
it's easy to do that i mean it's it's it's crazy though right i mean very we we played the best
half of our season against hou Houston and beat them by eight.
Didn't turn the ball over.
They turned the ball over, I don't know, at least five times.
And they beat them at Houston.
I mean, it's a fucking crazy league.
Jared hadn't thrown five incompletions, I don't think, in a game.
Yeah.
Right?
For how many weeks?
Yeah.
Crazy.
And then he throws five picks?
I love Jared.
I'm sure he'll bounce back.
The amazing stat, though, is this a true stat,
that he's done four more picks seven times and he's won every single one of those games?
Is that real?
Yes.
Yep, 7-0.
That's wild.
I mean, that's why stats are for what Big Mike used to say, age?
Stats for losers.
But he did say also conflict is good.
Like he's not scared of conflict.
Conflict is good.
Conflict.
Conflict.
Conflict.
NFC North, though, it's the Minnesota one.
So what's the NFC North looking like right now?
Green Bay fresh off a.
Bye.
Bye.
There we go.
Thank you.
No problem.
Good.
All right. Okay. And the Pack. Thank you. No problem. Good. All right.
Okay.
And the Packers still plays the Bears twice.
Bears twice, Lions one more time, and Vikings one more time.
Oh, so they have four more division games.
Yeah.
And just real quick, the Vikings down 7-0 to the Colts at halftime.
And 33-0.
That was last year.
Yeah, that was the comeback game they had.
Yeah, it's a new year.
Saturday out of me and oranges in the locker room at halftime.
I don't know what happened.
Has he ever answered?
Get the slices out, boys.
We did.
That's a big comeback.
That's a big comeback.
Forever.
For a Sunday afternoon. It's a big comeback. That's a big comeback. Forever. It's for a Sunday afternoon.
It's a big comeback.
Turn the tables there pretty good.
NFC North is cooking, though, and turn the tables would be nice.
Could still happen.
A lot of teams still very much in this thing.
Good luck against the Colts this weekend, brother.
We're incredibly proud of you.
I don't care if you mean that or not, but I appreciate that.
Good luck, man.
I know Ty's rooting for me.
Ty, who's Iowa got this week?
You got a cupcake, Ohio State or something?
No, we got Maryland.
We got Maryland.
But I'm actually at the point where I don't give a fuck anymore.
You can't go out to UCLA and drop the ball.
You just can't do it.
You can't do it.
That was tough.
Especially after what happened with Sullivan.
Here we go.
It's going to be a thing.
They just didn't block.
You rush for fucking 250 yards every single week, and then you decide, hey, UCLA fucking sucks. It's going to be a thing. They just didn't block. You know, you rush for fucking 250 yards every single week,
and then you decide, hey, UCLA fucking sucks.
We're going to the Rose Bowl.
We don't even have to block this week.
And then it turns out he gets dinged up.
We got some fucking guy playing quarterback I've never seen before.
He was actually kind of spinning it, kind of wanting him moving forward.
But it's just, I mean, it's just.
You were big on him the previous week.
Big time.
Big time.
Yeah, this is the guy. They're just so fucking Jekyll and Hyde. I can't do it. I mean, it's just – You were big on him the previous week. Big time. Big time. Yeah, this is the guy.
They're just so fucking Jekyll and Hyde.
I can't do it.
I mean, they're world-class.
Well, I will say it's been a while since Iowa played in the Rose Bowl, right?
So they just weren't used to the stadium.
No.
They just weren't used to the stadium.
No, we played very recently when Christian McCaffrey was at Stanford.
It got me about 45-7 in the Rose Bowl, but it wasn't that long ago.
Go Hawks.
Go Hawks.
Go Hawks.
Go Hawks.
Belichick was talking about how big of a genius Ferentz was yesterday,
so that's all I need.
Speaking of college ball, tonight's college football playoff
second live ranking will be released.
This 12-team playoff thing is sweet.
I think it's going to be electrifying.
Should have had it 20 years ago. Agreed, man.
Isn't it crazy? The NCAA
sells its right to deem a champion
to the BCS.
Then that just becomes
we're picking two teams that get to play
for it and everybody else, you're going to
win a BCS Bowl. A BCS
Bowl became like a thing. West Virginia, we
won our first BCS Bowl. It was like Bowl became like a thing. West Virginia, we won our first BCS Bowl.
It was like a big deal. Huge.
But it didn't make any sense after we won
a couple times. It was like, should be able to
fucking earn our way.
UCF has that entire, they just
deem themselves national champions.
And then they're like, you know what, let's make it four.
That'll help it all out. And then it's like, nope.
Nope, that did not help. Now, you have to
win four straight if you don't get a first round buy to win an Addy. I think we are going to find out. Then it's like, nope. That did not help. Now, you have to win four straight if you don't get a first-round buy
to win an Addy. I think we are
going to find out. At least everybody gets a fair
shake at it. Who would have had
BYU and Boise State in
last week's? They both won, so they'll probably both
still be there. Oh, yeah. And IU, brother.
Look at IU, brother.
Where's what?
Indiana University. Exactly.
Oh, yeah. There we go.
Signetti, man.
Hey, he's a dog.
Like the six.
Get him back on the program.
I know.
I know.
He was on.
Get him back on.
He dropped a great jam.
I was watching it.
Every time he talks, I have to listen because I have no fucking idea where he's headed.
You have no.
Is he going to bury somebody?
There's a chance.
Yeah.
Is he going to talk shit?
Probable.
But what is he?
And then is it going to be something incredibly motivating or like leadership wise?
It's like maybe.
That guy is special.
All right.
We appreciate the hell out of you, brother.
Cal wins out 8-4.
Put him in the playoff.
That's what I think about.
Done deal.
West Virginia too.
Yeah, West Virginia's got a path.
West Virginia's got a path still in the Big 12 championship.
So maybe we'll see how that goes.
I bet they do.
See you there.
Ladies and gentlemen, Aaron Rodgers.
Yay, Aaron!
What was that?
We're laughing stock right next to Cal.
Yeah, yes, you are.
I love Cal.
I love Cal, okay?
They were very kind to me.
It was an awesome environment.
They got something that West Virginia doesn't have, though, okay?
That's like academic standards that are at a level through the roof.
We can't be talking the same thing for football. Certainly certainly and olympians don't leave them out too they got a
lot of olympians our rifle team though is just pumping out really because i thought the
conversation from the olympics was how the hell are we sucking at rifling in the olympics
oh yeah i forgot they didn't take any west virginia's that was just for day one they turned
that thing well and then they had those gangsters from those countries. We never heard of fucker turn that son bitch sideways. Oh, yeah
That's right. And then put her hand in her pocket. Don't win a gold. Don't be too obvious. I'll take a silver
I guess I'm yeah, I was doing this. Mm-hmm
You tell me how's that even possible? And then that one lady had like what six different? Yeah the little
Fuck terminate it woman dead And then that one lady had like, what, six different? Yeah, the little bifocal on top of the.
Yeah, she was impressive.
Fucking terminated.
Dead.
You got a basketball team now, though, so.
West Virginia?
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's a real deal.
We're not going to become a basketball school, but it would be good to be both.
Well, I don't know.
Maybe.
I don't know.
Where's little Huggy Bear coaching?
Bob Huggins is somewhere, right?
He is not.
He is not.
That is not true. What did you say?
Let's get to it, Frank.
Coach Riz will be on the other side.
Shit.
Coach Riz, can you wait three minutes?
I've got to go to the bathroom.
He just hopped on.
He just...
Okay, I appreciate you, Coach Riz.
Sorry we're wasting...
Let's not waste his time.
Huggy Bear and Del Rio.
It's Tuesday.
It's Tuesday. He's got a lot of time. Wow. Let's not. Let's Coach. Sorry we're wasting... Let's not waste his time. Huggy Baron Del Rey. It's Tuesday. It's Tuesday.
He's got a lot of time.
Wow.
Let's not.
Let's not.
I'm a whole...
No, because I would like to talk to him.
Yeah.
And this man did...
He gets the bathroom.
He knows.
He gets the bathroom break.
I got a piss.
It's not a shit, so it's a little different story for what he had going on.
He just shows up and says, hey, where's your dumper?
I'm going to break it.
And then says, I'm going to go head coach a football game, and I'm going to win.

The Talks at Table is here at Boston Corner
and at Ty Schmidt.
Sweet shirt, sweet hat, pal.
Hey, thank you.
I appreciate it very much.
What's the hoodie all about?
Are you cold?
No, no, no.
The hoodie's just kind of become part of the look,
I feel like, especially during this winter season.
Oh, really? Bundle up.
You never want to be too cold. You never want to be too
warm. Oh, that's what they say right there in the middle.
Yeah, exactly. Walk the line.
Why's Chuck always in here shivering
when he's walking around? Because he's old,
man. One half of the
hammer. Died. Cowboys AP
ton. Do you think that was fair?
If it's true. It's fair.
Oh, geez, Louise.
Nine-year NFL vet.
He's talking about one of your ex-head coaches.
This is Darius J. Butler.
How do you feel about what was said about him? I don't love it.
Me neither.
That was pretty mean to Chuck.
Yeah.
You and Gump.
That was pretty mean to Chuck.
I don't like it.
Me neither.
Oh, what?
He's not old?
Okay.
The sky not blue anymore?
Chuck looks great.
Oh, by the way.
Chuck's been talking a lot of shit, too. I didn't oh he doesn't talk to the talking a lot
he does look i don't like how cold he is all the time cold and old that's what everyone's saying
no that's not what they're saying every thursday no cold and all thursday all right joining us now
ladies and gentlemen is uh new and undefeated head coach for the new orleans saints former
special teams coordinator now add at the Slash.
Ladies and gentlemen, Coach Darren Rizzo.
Yeah, Coach!
How you doing, man?
Awesome, guys. How you doing?
Dude, not as good as you.
Head coach in the NFL.
You're undefeated.
Now, you need to go to the right.
Yep, there it is.
There it is.
And I think we, boom.
And we did it.
Yeah.
That was on us, not on you, obviously.
We will take the blame for that.
But let's chit-chat about here, you being a head coach in the NFL.
Obviously, friend of the program.
We've gotten a chance to chat with you whenever you decided to kind of
take on the leadership of special teams coordinators around the NFL
to figure out the kickoff answer.
The way you talked about it, I think we all loved you.
Fell in love with your energy.
Fell in love with the way you do things.
Feels like your team feels the same exact way about you. You're now interim head
coach. How much have you been able to change and how has your life changed over the last week or
so with the boys? Yeah, definitely. Definitely a little crazy week to say the least. No doubt
about that. I think you know me well enough to know that my personality is not going to change
much, right? I would say this,
you know, when you're in the middle of the season, you guys know this, there's only so much you can
do. But I did think it was important for the building, the players, the coaches. You know,
when we came back on that last Wednesday, I wanted to just look and feel a little bit different. You
know, I had my own little touch to it, you know, if you will. So I know you guys have heard about the locker room changes
and the schedule changes, practice schedule.
You know, I had said to the guys, you know, our last home game,
not this one against the Falcons, but the one previous to that,
you know, I didn't feel that Superdome energy, not from the fans.
I'm talking about from the players kind of, and I wanted to get that back.
And so, you know, the passion, the energy, all that stuff
was the big theme last week.
And, you know, I really haven't had a chance to kind of soak it all in,
just kind of, you know, you know the deal.
We're in the middle of the season, so just made those changes.
The guys all bought in, the leadership bought in, and here we are.
So we're going into week two, and we've got to duplicate the same thing.
Okay, well, how about this?
Let's take it in for a moment.
Congrats, man.
Not easy to do that.
Not easy to do that, especially when it's real loud
and everything else that's going on.
Division opponents playing very well.
The Atlanta Falcons obviously going to be difficult.
Some people in here actually didn't think you guys were going to be able to do it.
Some people said that.
Some people right over there didn't think you had the opportunity.
I assume he wasn't the only one in the world didn't think you guys had a chance.
But the team looked different.
It felt different.
Derek Carr talked about how we got the most amount of plays I think I've ever had in a practice.
And then we heard you come out and talk about this activation mode.
And I know there's only 32 head coaching jobs in the league at the top.
Everybody has thought, though, about what a team would look like or how a practice would go if they were the head coach, though.
Is that implementing those things?
Is that what that was, what we heard from Derek
and what we heard from you about the activation period?
Is this kind of what you thought a team would look like
if you were the head coach?
Or how are you making these decisions
and kind of choosing what to change,
the little things you can in the middle of a season?
Sure.
You know, listen, I think when you work for a lot of people,
a couple different organizations along the way,
I've interviewed for a head coaching job a couple of different times.
And so, you know, I always put a plan together.
There's always some ideas that you think, hey, man,
when I get a chance to take over, I want to do this.
I think this is the right formula.
I felt like it was the right time, right place.
And, but again, none of that's possible.
And you guys know this, none of that's possible unless the players buy into it.
And so, you know, I met with the leadership group quickly,
all those guys, you know, Alvin, Cam, DeMario, Derek, Taysom,
you know, all that leadership guys, Eric McCoy, the captains,
and went through all kind of the things I was thinking.
And they were like, coach, we're in, man, we're in.
And, you know, the activation,
the way we're going to run the practice
was kind of high tempo, high volume number of plays maybe not as intense uh post snap but but really intense
pre-snap game leg off the sideline 42nd clock and uh you know i'm sure everybody was a little bit
you know apprehensive in the beginning especially derrick right uh but man after after practice
number one they were like that was awesome that was awesome one, they were like, that was awesome. That was awesome.
That's, you know, and that was really great to hear. And then, you know, and then we kind of
just, you know, rolled with it all week. And, you know, they all said that they felt like,
you know, they were just super prepared for the game, both mentally and physically.
And, you know, I was really talking to the linemen all week, to be honest with you.
The offensive, defensive linemen, like, hey, what do you think? What do you, you know,
how do you feel? And because those are the guys that, you know, sometimes when you change up the
practice schedule, it can affect them the most, especially middle of the season. And they were
like, coach, man, we feel great. And then the offensive, defensive linemen really going into
the game where the guys were like, man, we are ready to go and set the tempo.
That was pretty cool.
It's smart to get the O-line and D-line on your side, too,
because if they're bitching, everybody's bitching.
That's a smart play for a guy that's been around a long time.
I love the way you've gone about doing what you do.
Go ahead, AJ.
Coach, I know you've been a head coach at the college ranks,
but what was it like being a head coach in the NFL sideline on game day?
Was it what you expected?
Was there any little things that came up here or there?
What is your – after the game, have you been able to sit down
and feel like, okay, what do I need to do next week so we can continue this?
Yeah, listen, definitely different being on the sideline for college
and being on the sideline in the NFL games.
What I try to tell myself going into the game was, man, you got to –
here I am preaching accountability and staying the moment. And I was like, hey,
you got to listen to yourself here. And so just try to stay in the moment during the game,
the situations. And that was easy for me because I've really been doing the game management stuff
for the better part of 10 years with, you know, with the head coaches. And so, you know, all the
challenges and of course, right away, we have a challenge that comes up. years with, you know, with the head coaches. And so, you know, all the challenges and of course, right away,
we have a challenge that comes up and then, you know, the time,
the timeouts and all that stuff. So I said to myself,
you can't get wrapped up in the whole week. You can just got to, you know,
take these three hours and treat it like any other game. You know,
certainly there's going to be, it's going to be my call.
I don't have to ask anybody if we're going to take a timeout or do anything like that.
But at the same time, I'm like, man, you know, you got to make sure your process stays the same.
You guys have probably heard this.
You know, I talked to Bill Parcells.
I talked to Dan Campbell.
I talked to Todd Bowles during the week.
And all those guys were like, Riz, man, just be Riz.
Be yourself.
Don't be different.
You know, don't be one of those guys that gets in the head coaching, you know,
seat and all of a sudden changes his ways.
You know, don't be that guy.
Because the players will see right through it.
Oh, yeah.
You know what?
Yeah.
Yep.
So, man, just be yourself.
But, man, it was awesome.
The Superdome was phenomenal.
The fans were great.
They were into it.
And we gave them a little bit of something to cheer about early on.
So it kind of got them going a little bit.
That was really cool.
Yeah, getting the home crowd involved early should be playing.
That should be a part of it.
Like, hey, if this is an added weapon for us, this Superdome,
which I appreciate how much you respect it.
It's like, hey, we need a little bit more.
We're playing in the Superdome.
This is an honor.
I like that that is how you viewed it and pitched it to your team.
And I like that your team bought in.
You know, like, I think that is a big deal.
You know, people say you lost the locker room or whatever.
When a substitute teacher comes in, whatever the case is,
there's some people that are like, ah.
Yeah.
But he's been around.
They know him.
Special teams coordinator, too.
Come on.
Hell, yeah.
Proud of you, Riz.
Proud of you, Riz.
Legit.
Now, there was a situation there at the
end of the game. D-Butt's got a question for you. Hey, Coach Riz,
you were pretty jacked up after
your first win, rightfully so.
Obviously, we saw on the cameras, you got a little
banged up here. So, are you on
the injury report, off the injury report?
Will you be joining the activation periods
going forward? Maybe get a little lathered up?
How are you feeling going forward?
Oh, man.
Yeah, I'm definitely limited for sure.
There's no doubt.
I'm not full go.
No, man, listen, those guys were fired up at the end.
And, you know, I think you guys probably heard the story.
You know, Chase gets his sack there to sack fumble,
and they lose a bunch of yards.
And Peyton Turner started spraying his water bottle.
I'm like, man, the game's not over.
I'm like, stay locked in 30 more seconds.
You know, we've got a couple more plays here and I'm ripping his ass.
So when the game is over, you know, here's his chance.
He's going to come right back at me.
And the guys got fired up.
And then when I wasn't looking, he got me.
And man, my literally my entire left arm went completely numb.
I mean, it was like, yeah, it felt like an elephant trunk. I mean, I was like, are you kidding me? So then I'm leaning on Peyton and he's like, look at me. He's like, coach, you all right? He's like, no, we won. Don't worry about it. I'll take it. I'll take one for the team.
But, yeah, so that's what happened.
So I look like a complete nonner at the end of the game for sure.
I got a couple good shots in there, and then all of a sudden he buckled me,
but it's like the old –
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, from behind.
Snipe.
Hey.
Oh, shit.
Hey, never went down, Ray.
Never went down.
Paralyzed.
Live, you learn, baby.
Hey, hey, that's a – we win.
We just won a game, baby.
We just won a game, baby.
Got to enjoy the hell out of that.
If I had to sign up for it, if I had to sign up for it ahead of time,
I would do it all over again.
I'll take the hit.
Okay, okay, so that's after the game.
Let's go to before the game.
Ty has a question for you.
Yeah, Coach, I think everyone appreciated how you made no bones about it.
I was like, listen, I got to the stadium. I've never
used the coach's locker room before. I
take a shit and I clog the toilet.
You can imagine how I think the day is
going to go after that. This is a two-part
question. A,
we're talking the Superdome here. Those are industrial
pipes. What did you eat
the night before that made you clog the
toilet? Have you considered now going forward,
you don't have a choice.
You got to take massive nukes before the game
and clog the toilet every single week.
Oh, man.
So here I am, and I'm in there,
but obviously by myself, right?
So I'm like, are you kidding me?
This is really happening right now.
So I got up and I'm like, you know what?
If we win this game, I'm telling everyone and i'm like you know what if we win
this game i'm telling everyone this story because you know what there's not a person out there that
hasn't done that before right everyone can relate come on now i did it here it doesn't matter yeah
right but but it wasn't it wasn't even that it's just like the toilet wasn't going down i was like
are you serious like this is really how my day's gonna oh man so yeah i'm
like i gotta share this and if we lost no one would have ever known but but i'm like you know
what i'm gonna i'm gonna share this with everybody no i didn't get the plunger pat come on okay i
didn't know i didn't know what happened did you you rolled up you rolled up your arm in there
like jj well and and i mean you would and you would think my brother was a plumber you my
brother was a plumber so you would think i would would think I could be able to take care of myself,
but no, here I am.
Marma coach, I'm not a...
Rizzy, I love everything about that.
Just the thought of that.
I mean, that is wonderful.
What a memorable first win.
No kidding.
First of many.
Yeah.
First of many.
Go ahead, AJ.
Coach, I mean, it's tough coming back from that.
You might have to start every game like that.
That's the crazy thing about it, Ty.
I didn't think about that now, though.
What a bad idea.
People get superstitious.
I know it's a baseball thing more than football.
But how do you, with everything we said,
how do you continue your message?
How do you continue to, I guess, bring this much juice?
I know you're going to be you, but how do you continue for your message to get across and evolve?
And really, you know, as your team, you grow as the season goes with you as the head coach.
Yeah, I think that's actually going to be in the locker room after the game.
I said to the team, I think that's going to be our biggest challenge.
Like, you know, a lot of times it's easy to get on board with something that's new and fresh and exciting.
And, you know, we press the restart button and all that.
It's in order to duplicate that, duplicate that effort, duplicate that energy.
Listen, I'm going to bring it every day.
The leadership of the team is going to be the most important thing.
I'm going to challenge those guys this week.
Let's have a better practice week.
There's plenty of stuff from the game that we've got to get better.
We certainly weren't perfect. There's that we've got to get better. We certainly
weren't perfect. There's stuff
we've got to get better at, so let's make that the focus
this week. Let's keep the same energy.
Let's keep the same juice. Let's make the corrections.
But at the end of the day, we won that
game this past week because
we were prepared, and we made plays
when we needed to. I mean, you know, the Honey Badger
interception, Chase Young,
strip sack, the blocked field goal by Ridgeway.
I mean, we made big plays in the game.
That was a big, big deal.
So I felt like the pressure of the week is, you know,
and again, we brought the juice.
We brought the energy.
The Superdome was awesome.
And so let's use that same formula, and let's not take a step back.
So that's going to be really the messaging this week.
We'll be wild to watch it because there's a lot of talent, obviously, on the team.
Incredible amount of talent.
For whatever reason, wasn't going the way it should be.
Coach Riz comes in, you know.
Let's go.
Starts.
You know the Rizzler, obviously.
You know the Rizzler?
Yeah.
Listen, we've got to get the Rizzler to a game over here.
Can you put me in touch with the Rizzler?
Yeah, you do.
We don't know the Rizzler.
We know of the Rizzler, obviously.
The Panther just arrived.
I think we all do.
So, yeah, hopefully it'll – we need it to happen.
Give him a headset.
Give him a headset, too.
Hey, somebody tell me I look like an older version of the Rizzler.
I can be related to him.
What a compliment.
Double, double, double. I can be related to him. What a compliment. What an honor.
What an absolute honor for you. I mean, for...
The Rizzler may be having a headset on.
He should.
Get him a helmet.
Think about putting him on the field.
I got another one for you
too, though, by the way.
This is another one that we've got to get down to the game.
So, Pat, you had Livvy Dunn and Skeens on, right, on college game day.
Yep.
I got an absolute random fact here.
You ready?
Yep.
Livvy Dunn and myself are from the same hometown in the great state of New Jersey.
Holy shit.
Same exit off the road.
And we're both here in the great state of louisiana so i got to get
living and paul we got to get them down to the superdome so here's an open invitation right now
livy paul let's get you down to the to the superdome this sunday yeah uh and get you part
of the get you part of the action i mean we had two hillsdale new jersey natives oh my gosh here
in louisiana and uh yeah same exit off the parkway.
You got it right.
So, yeah, we grew up.
That makes a lot of sense for Paul to want to go down there with Livvy, too.
Uh-huh.
You know, Livvy, because she's going back to LSU.
She's going to win another national championship.
Back to back.
And then Paul Skeen's obviously about to win a World Series.
With who?
He might win a Cy Young.
He's not going to win a World Series.
Free agent?
No, he's going to win a World Series with the Pittsburgh fucking Pirates.
Okay.
That's what he's going to do.
Nonetheless, they need to get down to a sense game.
We agree.
Hey, Riz, we like what you're doing down there, Riz.
We like what you're doing down there.
Tone Diggs has a question for you, Riz.
Yeah, Coach.
Obviously, you've got the Browns coming this week.
Are you worried if the game was based off of just sheer motivation
that Jameis would potentially put the boys over?
Yeah, I mean, listen, Jameis, obviously,
I've got a great relationship with Jameis.
Jameis is, we know what kind of playmaker Jameis is.
You look at what he did, you know,
coming off that week when he started against the Ravens.
I mean, he catapulted them.
It was a little bit no different than our deal
this past week.
He kind of brought the juice, brought the energy.
And so he's going to
be fired up. Listen, I know how Jameis is. He's going to come into the Superdome ready to roll.
And he's played here many, many times before, both for the home team and the visiting team.
And so he knows what that crowd is going to be like. And so that's going to be something we've
got to obviously get after. And listen, I know their record is not great either,
but at the same time, they've got a couple guys playing really,
really good football.
I mean, Garrett is killing it right now.
Got to have a plan for him.
But, yeah, Jameis, listen, he's going to be juiced up.
We're going to have to bring more juice than him.
You told us that you used to go.
Don't eat dubs.
Don't be eating dubs.
You don't need to be doing that.
You do exactly what you're doing.
Big dumps.
Yep.
And then big stingers afterwards.
And then you just keep it rolling.
Coach, we're incredibly pumped for you.
Congratulations.
We hope the boys continue to play great football for you
because we obviously appreciate you as a human and a football coach.
Have a good one, man.
Thank you for the time.
You got it, man. You guys are the best. Anytime, man. Love coming on. We appreciate you as a human and a football coach. Have a good one, man. Thank you for the time. You got it, man.
You guys are the best.
Anytime, man.
Love coming on.
We appreciate you.
Ladies and gentlemen, Coach Darren Rizzi.
There it goes.
Bro, that video is scary of his lower body going limp.
He's holding himself up.
Watch that again.
That scared me.
He said his entire thing just went limp.
He's holding himself up on a leg.
Oh, you know how bad it hurts when you push in the back when you don't know it's coming?
Right here.
Oh, oh, oh.
You're having a heart attack, coach.
For real.
Oh, no.
Maybe he's just trying to drive him.
Maybe he was just trying to drive him.
Are you okay?
It looks like he's out of his trunk.
Yes, it's scary.
Yes, that's hilarious.
Fucking hell.
All right, Connor.
That's a good man.
That's a good man for his first win.
How about him starting his life that day?
Dumping into a toilet and clogging
the toilet.
And then after the game, he ends up
like that, losing all mode.
Greatest day of my life.
Come on, Conrad.
He's looking at Matt.
What the fuck, man?
We're happy he's okay.
It's a good team right there. Hold me, hold me. What the fuck, man? We're happy he's okay.
It's a good team right there.
Hold me, hold me, hold me.
Definitely, that's what he's saying.
Go let go.
Hey, now it's not the time. It's like when somebody gets dinged up bad.
They get dinged up and they're like, hey, hey, here, stand in front.
Come on, take a step.
I'll tell you what, speaking of dumps, you sit down too long, take a dump.
You lose the feeling in your feet, in your legs.
You try to walk.
You're on a moon. I wonder if that's what he
felt like that that time late on skates late onset yeah yeah because every once in a while I feel
like I'm gonna break my ankle when I'm walking yeah too long of a dump here should have got up
earlier I can't feel my legs and I'm just kind of missed it that's what happened here I mean wobbly
to say the least that was a super dump paying him back from earlier.
That was too good.
That's right.
He took a super dump in a super dump.
He got a super win.
Oh, man.
For them, I'm happy for Riz, man.
Yeah, it's awesome.
It's a tough spot.
The interim head coach spot is a tough spot.
You know, obviously, there's been incredible positive stories.
AP last year wins.
He goes and does things.
Rich Passaccia, I think, whenever he filled in for the Raiders, wins.
Then he doesn't get a head coaching opportunity.
It's like the coaches are viewing this as an opportunity to run a team.
Like, hey, this is my opportunity.
I don't know how many I'm going to get.
I don't know how many jobs I'm going to have as a head coach in the NFL.
But right now, interim or not, I'm getting a chance to lead a building.
So, like, him changing the practice and then doing the activation thing,
I'm sure there's other – he said he wanted to build in the field.
He said he heard about the locker room.
He heard about it.
I did not.
So, as he was telling me that, I was hearing about it in real time
and that he didn't fully explain it.
So, I still don't know what all he has done to those things.
I should have known that going into the interview.
Obviously, that's on me for not –
Position groups, right?
He put them in their position groups, I believe,
because they used to have them split up because of COVID. Oh, so different seats. Oh, yeah. Remember, he's on me. Position groups, right? He put them in their position groups, I believe, because they used to have them split up because of COVID.
Oh, so different seats.
Oh, yeah.
Remember, he talked about that.
Because they didn't want one quarterback to come in
and infect the whole quarterback room.
So I think they switched it during COVID.
Now he put it back to position groups is what I heard.
Oh, I kind of like it split up.
I don't know, though.
It does kind of bring you together, though.
You got your same position group.
We were split up.
Well, yeah, Green Bay was kind of random.
So, first regime, me and Vinny were right next to each other.
And then, second regime, I was moved to a different spot.
It was all kind of separated.
Became friends with a couple offensive linemen.
Dang.
Through that.
DBs.
Yeah, you were next to AQ for a little, right?
AQsh was next to me.
DeQuell?
DeQuell Jackson, welcome to the Thunderdome.
He learned.
First week.
630 AM.
DeQuell, that's a cool name.
DQ, what's up, dude?
Good to see you.
Man, we have a good time around here.
We got a pretty good team.
How do you feel about it?
What's different here than maybe in Cleveland?
Is this every fucking day you're going to do this?
Every day, DeQuell.
It's every fucking day. We got to be here? Every day. Let's have a fucking day.
We got to be here, man.
All right, I'll see you later, DeQuel.
Okay, yeah, I just ran my head into somebody a thousand times, you fucking asshole.
6.30 in the morning.
Maybe you're relaxed.
Well, happy to see you too, DeQuel.
Jesus Christ.
Over here.
Yeah.
It was good, I think, being mixed up.
I think so, too.
Joe Hay, young offensive lineman.
We were locker mates for a few years. Denzel Perriman.
Not Perriman.
Denzel Good. I'm sorry. Big old lineman.
Hey. Banger. Hold on.
Rapper now. Matt Hazel.
So just, you know, a bunch of
random guys from different position groups
that you wouldn't necessarily
spend a lot of time with
otherwise. Denzel, his song popped
up the other day.
Big Good. spend a lot of time with otherwise. Denzel, his song popped up the other day. It'd be good.
Just got home from the NL?
No.
He posted it on your IG story?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
What's the name of it?
Come on.
He was awesome.
He made a bang, too.
Great dude.
Huge.
He won over the Raiders.
Had like a long six, seven year career.
They paid him.
He was offensive lineman
what is the name of this small school
no all right let's get here let's go we don't got time You think you gon' catch me slippin' You must be bold as hell Cause I'm always on my job
And I do my job well
I stay pullin' for my block
I gotta see my boy prevail
Okay, so that line right there,
I stay pullin' for my block,
I gotta see my boy prevail,
like so many different levels.
And I'm like, as I was listening to it,
I like sent him a DM, I'm like,
hey, pretty fucking good, a song right there.
That song is called Ballin' by Cannon canon 864 it's denzel good but to your point if his locker isn't right
next to me you know i'm probably not getting to know him nearly as well he was fucking massive
do you remember how huge this this dude we're talking whole body gigantic gigantic fucking human. Huge, dude.
Obviously, being locker-based, you got shoes and cleats next to you.
Just seeing that motherfucker's big-ass Timberlands next to me, some size 18s.
Jeez.
Huge human.
He'd have to be, what, 6'6", 6'7", maybe 350?
Great athlete.
Yeah.
Great athlete.
I mean, I don't know how his joints survived.
He was so fucking big.
Anyways, speaking of big, gotta do it tomorrow.
I don't have the iPad.
That's on me, but it works out. It's been great on Wednesdays.
You and AQ Shipley doing
back-to-back has been awesome.
We could just run the Rizzy video like
10 more times and break it down.
I don't think we need to do that.
I don't think we need to do that at all.
I don't think we need to do that at all.
Is there anything that we didn't cover today that we have to talk about?
NBA Cup starts tonight.
Yep. That matters. So is this different than
the in-season tournament? No. No, this is it.
This is it. Okay. This is early.
Early, I feel.
Boys, there's rounds to this.
What are the games in the Emirates?
Wait, knockout rounds start December 10th.
United Arab Emirates. Isn't that where
the championships played?
They're playing in... Yeah, Abu Dhabi, I think.
Are they really?
Are they really?
I believe so, right?
That's where the NBA Cup Finals is?
I don't know.
I thought I read that somewhere,
but maybe they just played over there in the preseason.
I think it's Las Vegas.
I think it's where the NBA Cup is.
Play it in fucking Abu Dhabi.
Come on. I think the trophy is like the NBA Cup is. Play it in fucking Abu Dhabi. Come on.
I think the trophy is the Emirates
Cup. Maybe that's it.
I know that they were over there before
the season. It is a sponsor because
the Emirates, they are
big sponsors in the soccer world, so they get
the in-season tournaments. It's on this graphic.
They like cups being in there. It is the
Emirates NBA
Cup. I appreciate that.
You know, there's been a couple of those types of just like country name
or place name sponsoring event.
And it's like I appreciate the fact that people are like, hey,
you have all the money literally in the world.
Yeah.
What do you say?
You want to just kind of do the whole.
Sponsor the NBA Cup? You guys can come you can watch you do the whole thing put a couple
shout outs in there and like yeah you guys will yeah we'll definitely do that and now the
nba cup probably more profitable than anything else they got going no doubt and everybody was
laughing at the nba cup remember that yeah well with the courts they got the courts right this
year most of them i've seen are awesome. What was it called? City Escape?
Oh, the city jerseys?
No, what was the name of the painting?
It did.
There was a name.
You're right.
There was a name.
Yeah, when they painted the wood, right?
We're talking about the new.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
What was that called, though?
Didn't they?
They were trying to market it or something?
Yeah.
City Courts.
I forget what it was.
I forget.
Yeah, the Celtics is like green this year.
It looks as though the background of the green is the streets and blocks of Boston.
It looks sick.
A lot of ridicule.
A ton of ridicule.
A lot of ridicule, which I didn't fully understand because this is just like the Mega Bowl.
They're making a Mega Bowl.
I like anytime somebody does business.
These people are in business.
They're promoting now, and they're creating an event for people to hopefully hold in higher regard.
And I think maybe we liked it because the Pacers did so well in it, too.
So I got a chance to see Tyree.
I think he made the finals, lose to the Lakers in it all.
I don't think you should be hanging a banner next to a fucking NBA title.
No.
Which they did, I think, over there in Staples for the NBA Cup whenever the Lakers won it.
We talked about this.
That is a lobby banner.
That is in the lobby of the arena.
That is where you hang that particular banner.
But it's still something that I appreciate.
I like in-season tournaments.
I like that college ball is going to Maui.
Like Dan Hurley, back-to-back national champs or whatever,
and they're like, yeah, we're going to Maui for a great tournament
in the middle of it and winning the Maui Cup.
He said one of those trophies is one of the ones we're looking at.
I like any time something is hyped up. I enjoy that.
The games mean something.
We eventually get to elimination games.
Anytime you're playing elimination games, I think it's
great. But people did not
take it seriously last year.
No.
Players do. Players want that cash.
Yeah, because there's an extra $500,000 bonus
to everybody on the bench or something.
That was another awesome part.
Like the big-time players, you know, still being excited for the other guys getting those, you know, big checks and shit like that.
LeBron, I remember celebrating with that.
Yeah, I mean, anything new people's going to make kind of Mickey Mouse.
Also, NBA Twitter is a fantastic place.
Yeah.
So you toss a fake cup in there?
Oh, buddy.
Let them run.
The banner, too, is like one banner.
And then it's like if they were to win it this year,
they wouldn't add another banner.
They'd just put 2025 on it.
So it's...
Need to put it in a lobby.
Yeah.
Maybe every arena has a lobby.
Just go ahead and...
Lobby banners are just fine.
A rug.
Rug you'd be stepping on.
I don't know if anybody wants that.
Yeah, but that'd be cool.
I'm just saying if they feel the need to hang a banner in a cup,
fucking stack those lobbies up.
Yeah.
Look at me.
Beginning, middle season.
Cups.
Cups.
We dominate.
Pacers going to win the NBA Cup this year.
Probably.
I can already feel it.
Congrats, man.
Tyrese Halliburton won for 35 the other day.
Mathurin won for 38.
Tyree Salaburton's at the Butler basketball game
watching the fundamentals of college hoops.
He's already conversating with Kalen Clark in the off times
about how to do different shit to Kalen.
I mean, Pacers are on the way up.
Yeah, Pacers will hang a banner.
I guarantee you that.
In the lobby.
No, they won't. Yeah, we win the NBA Cup. We I guarantee you that. In the lobby. No, they won't.
Yeah, we win the NBA Cup.
We'll put that right up in the lobby.
That thing will be over center court.
It'll be right there in the lobby.
No chance.
Center court right there in the lobby.
They might put it on the floor, like a picture of it on the floor.
Maybe, like Walsh Paid Man of the Year.
They could build a statue downtown.
That'd be cool.
Maybe.
Maybe a statue.
Maybe get an extra one and put it on Lucas Oil.
I'm okay.
The one next to the all-leg, the one with the legs.
John Wooden was on his knees in front of the legs.
Well, the knee bone is connected to the shin bone, you see.
And then the shin bone is connected to the foot bone, which is on the ground,
which is where John Wooden was coaching.
So that's all he was really around was just a bunch of shins and knees.
A lot of other people are saying there's other stuff there, too,
that you just can't see.
Penises.
That's what they're saying.
Yeah.
Do you know that, AJ?
I didn't know that's where you're going with that.
I think it's what a lot of people are saying.
John Wooden's motivating boys.
He'd get those statues to play good fucking defense if he had to.
No doubt.
And that's John Wooden football.
Basketball.
Did you know that LSU students chanted that. Did you know that LSU... Great statue. Did you know that the LSU students
chanted that?
What?
Did you know that?
Their whole...
Yeah.
Tiger Thick situation?
Yeah, it's not thick.
Not until you really put it
in the forefront.
I was not super aware.
I thought people deserved to know that.
Like, hey, this is happening.
I agree.
I think it's good that you...
You know, you shined light on that.
We needed to. I'm assuming there's a lot of people pissed off about that, but, like, I didn't create good that you shine light on that. We need it.
I'm assuming there's a lot of people pissed off about that,
but I didn't create it. You didn't do it.
It's pretty awesome.
It's pretty awesome when you think about it.
They're all in.
I saw a little five, four-year-olds,
and then obviously older folks saying it.
And it's like, I don't think everybody in Louisiana
loves that it's happening, you know?
But not everybody loved that there was going to be
a live tiger on the sideline in Louisiana.
And Governor Jeff Landry has commented about the situation.
He has come out with a quote on three, has reported,
and obviously there's a lot of good college football sites that cover a lot of things.
On three is certainly one of them.
Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry blasted LSU for its loss to Alabama
and defended his live Tiger stunt.
Our Tiger, our live Tiger, unfortunately,
disappointingly, was the only Tiger who showed up Saturday.
Jeez.
I mean, what a comment.
Well done.
That is a bar.
That is well done.
People are wondering why I was saying Governor Jeff Landry
wanted this Tiger so much on college game day.
It's because I learned a pretty good amount about Governor Jeff Landry wanted this Tiger so much on college game day. It's because I learned a pretty good amount about Governor Jeff Landry
in Friday night dinner.
And this guy needs to be learned about.
This dude is wide open down there.
Now, he has his supporters.
No doubt.
He should.
And he represents his constituents.
But he also has his feelings about what LSU games should look like and feel like.
And just getting a chance to be there, a part of the whole.
First time since 2015, Live Tiger.
And then allegedly, you know, like, university, we're okay without one.
You know, without a Live Tiger.
We got one right outside here in the sanctuary.
We got this figured out. Good air conditioning on the rocks. We got the whole. We got one right outside here in the sanctuary. We got this figured out.
Good air conditioning on rocks.
We got the whole thing.
Able to do this at the sanctuary.
Allegedly, you know, I'm not saying everybody at LSU that is part of their,
what would that be, front office, not their front office,
the people that run the school.
Board of Regents.
Whatever, that whole thing.
Maybe not 100% of them, but I guess there was a pretty overwhelming of,
we're okay.
And then there were some other pioneers or powerful voices in Louisiana saying, it's okay.
It's okay if we don't.
Governor Jeff Landry said, I don't give a fuck.
You don't want a sideline?
I want a tiger on that sideline.
I think when I was a boy, it was one of my favorite memories.
Remember, I heard that thing roar.
Exactly.
And now we don't have one?
Why is that?
Why don't we have one? If Bevo could be at Texas, if Ugga could be at Georgia, why not a lot?
I think Governor Jeff Landry was saying the same thing.
It was the execution.
I'm with Tom.
The idea he had yesterday was brilliant.
Gladiator 2 is about to come out.
You got to have him out of the cage, chained to the ground.
Well, I think Governor Jeff Landry, I assume, had to concede some things for that cage.
I think he was potentially coming out on top of that, riding that thing out there.
You can have a glass cage or a glass habitat on the field just like they do for Bevo
because you're going to have to have a ceiling and walls so the tiger doesn't get out.
I agree with that.
But you can't see the tiger in that cage. Yeah, unless they had the light on. You need to get eyes on it. Yeah wall so the tiger doesn't get out i agree with that but you can't see the tiger in the in that cage unless they had the light on you need to get eyes on yeah
so the tiger was there did show up but i don't know i don't know if it was seen by the entire
only tiger show up they're spending 19.8 million dollars on that stadium renovation and governor
jeff landry's asking why don't we put the fucking sanctuary inside 19.8 million dollars that'd be
so real in any of the end zones or silence yeah i'm sure governor jeff landry could find some And Governor Jeff Landry is asking, why don't we put a fucking sanctuary inside? $19.8 million. That'd be so cool.
Is there room in any of the end zones or silence?
I'm sure Governor Jeff Landry could find some spots.
Tie him up to the goalpost.
Tie him up to the goalpost for a little while.
It's inhumane.
I don't know if that's...
Tie him up.
Hey, we're doing something serious here.
That's more humane than a cage.
Much more humane than a cage.
We're not going to get rid of the cage right now.
We are...
Yeah, but I'm saying tie him around the goalpost with those retractable dog leashes that people walk around with their golden retriever, drag them through the streets.
Just put one of those on him.
Okay, yeah.
And people refuse to hit that button.
A commercial version, though, that's much stronger.
Yeah, but you're talking they need to hit the button a little earlier.
Those things are stupid, by the way.
I feel like he's not doing this seriously.
They need to put the sanctuary on top of the jumbo trunk
and then just have that thing up there before the game starts.
By the way, did you see what was back?
What's that? I saw the Carolina Panther.
Bingo. In Germany.
And they won.
And he was buying beers for everybody.
Anytime that Tiger's jumping around.
Or sorry, Panther. Excuse me.
Isn't college football? They're going to win.
This is pretty... I think they lost
last time it was out, maybe? I don't think so.
No way. Yeah, I mean, it last time it was out maybe? I don't think so. No way.
Yeah, I mean, it's crazy that Panther is on video there.
Yeah, Germans were so fucking scared.
That was crazy.
Did you see that, AJ?
It was running around the stadium over here.
That's my first time actually seeing that.
That's not true.
Yeah, the thing about that Panther, it's not a real Panther right there.
That is a.
No, come on now.
Are you sure?
That's a fake Panther.
That's not a real Panther.
Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, it's actually roaring right there. That is a... No, come on now. Are you sure? That's a fake panther. That's not a real panther. Yeah, I don't know.
It's actually roaring right there.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
That's what that panther was saying.
Panic.
Dang.
Dang.
Dang.
Panic.
Dang.
Dang.
And then...
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do.
Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. there. I don't know if you heard about that.
That was what that panther did.
People thought it was real.
It's not real.
It's not real.
It's not a real panther.
Millions of dollars spent on it.
But Jeff Landry, Governor Jeff Landry, though,
did he know that the tiger that lives in the habitat
was not ready to go into the stadium
and they had to find another one?
Yep, I do believe he did know that.
Six months ago, actually.
Yeah, there was some time from when we were.
We know too much, but not enough.
Why couldn't we put old number six?
Why couldn't we put just, if he's going in a cage, why isn't he ready to go in a cage?
That would have been inhumane.
What's that?
His name is Mike.
Mike the sixth.
Yeah, Mike the seventh.
Yeah, Mike the seventh is the one that lives outside.
I believe that would have been considered uh in you inhumane and malpractice because that never
had to be in front of a crowd before so oh okay gotcha so the crowd is obviously because cats you
know naturally skittish yeah so whenever you know i guess this one had been in front of a crowd
before i understood i swiped in a few people. That tiger was like a showman tiger?
Yeah, I think they were searching for a showman.
A traveling circus tiger.
One that has been in front of people before
as opposed to just being in a sanctuary outside.
I believe is the conversation that happened there.
So now there has been an idea
that has been tossed from the back row of the back room.
It's a shame.
LSU is probably not going to make it now,
especially after they lost to Alabama.
If LSU makes it to the college football playoff,
will you do a show from a tiger cage,
the alt cast on the sideline?
Is the tiger in there with us?
No, you would just be in a cage.
Oh, that'd be sweet.
I'm up for anything.
It'd be like a bird cage.
You'd be standing like a hawk.
So you're out in the 1990 Chevy Silverado like 15 years ago.
So that was the issue.
We saw in 2015 the last time the Tiger had been live on the LSU field.
They had the Chevy Silverado pulling that thing, and they were struggling.
The tail end was down.
You know what they needed?
Oh, yeah.
We know.
We know.
Yeah.
Right fucking there, right there that might
have been part of the whole problem that's my people might have been uh true we don't need a
live tiger anymore because the show wasn't enough of a show obviously a tiger roaring is a powerful
thing but when you hear that from underneath the hood of a 2500 heavy duty Rebel Ram? All of a sudden, you don't want that ever to go away.
You could strap Mike into the truck bed and drive him around.
Think about it.
Drive him around.
He's strapped in.
He's not going to jump out and kill anybody, probably.
But strap him into the back of that truck bed of that Dodge Ram.
The kill thing is a real fear thing for a lot of people.
Well, he'll get through a lot of people before they crank him, for sure.
Exactly.
Yeah, especially with shooting the especially with you're not even
gonna strike him they're gonna shoot him right now they're not tracking it yeah but they're not
trying to in the crowd how are they shooting exactly oh yeah they're good humans he might
get all 75 000. 100 102. 102. he's coming for all mike's professional he's not gonna be hungry that
whole time he's not he's just killing for fun. He's not eating. Oh, you think
his name was Omar was the name of the tiger
that was on the sideline.
You're telling me you think Omar
is just known showman feline.
Okay, known show feline here.
You think he was just going to go out and just
start batting faces and slicing
throat? Yes, one swipe.
There's your head's off. Boom. Slice your neck.
Boom, boom, boom.
He sees one. head's off. Boom. Slice your neck. Boom, boom, boom. Then he just gets, he sees one.
Boom, boom, boom.
He sees one.
He's like, there's 102.
It's a target rich environment.
Five, 102,000, big, boom.
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
I don't want to see it.
I don't want to see it happen.
Well, you could do the implant, and then if it gets out, just.
What's that, buddy?
Shut him down?
What do you mean?
Oh.
Oh, flip the switch and his head blows up?
Yeah, bingo.
Put a paper.
Yeah.
Oh, gosh.
That is.
I don't think anybody would like that.
I think that'd be a pretty big conversation.
Yeah, yeah.
But I did hear a lot of people that are animal people being like, is it really a necessity?
Like, why do we.
Yeah.
Of course not.
Where were they when Squirrel was getting murdered last week?
Not a lot has been said about Peanut.
Huh?
It's true.
How come Peanut stopped being talked about?
He might have came back to life.
Sorry, what?
I saw Reincarnation take the stand there in front of a press conference.
Is that what you're talking about, Gump?
Yep, running around, having a great time.
Speaking of last week, we did miss something.
Oh, yeah, we did.
My apologies. We didn't have a show on Sunday, so I didn't get to bring it up. Speaking of last week, we did miss something. Oh, yeah, we did.
My apologies.
We didn't have a show on Sunday, so I didn't get to bring it up.
I forgot yesterday.
That's on me.
Happy birthday, Ocho.
That's right.
Happy birthday.
Happy birthday, Ocho.
Which Ocho?
Emmanuel.
We know these are tough. Manny.
Happy birthday.
I would like to say this.
Happy birthday to him.
And reading his birthday post made me feel like the biggest piece of of
all time that ain't never why what do you mean did you read it i don't know if i did i made a glance
read it and just know you're a terrible guy let us know if you're doing enough aj he said
he cries on his birthday because he hasn't done enough good for society that's what he he thinks
about on his birthday i'm like god damn we think differently we either we are such a different thinking i'm like man made another year pretty
pumped up which he did say yeah thankful to be around which is cool i'm like pretty excited
about it but i need we need to start viewing it differently and we need to start thinking like
a man oh he said like i haven't done enough that's why he cries yeah wow i know that's what i'm saying
i'm like holy fuck i'm gonna start doing that every year on my birthday, too.
Me, too.
Let's all do it.
And then I am for sure.
I might start with it.
He ended with it.
I'll probably start mine with happy birthday to me.
Okay.
So Gumpy's not being serious.
I am, obviously.
Sounds like Gumpy's.
Oh, is that like.
Gumpy, you're not going to tweet happy birthday to me.
No, I think I am.
I think I'm learning from Ocho.
You have to.
I have to. I i think i am i think i'm learning from watch you have to i have to
i do think we should maybe i mean not too often because they can bum me out maybe maybe once a
year like it's on your birthday i think how can we be better for society every trip around how can we
make the world a better place how can we make tomorrow better than today while knowing that
tomorrow's not a guarantee.
That'll fucking smack you right in the mouth sometimes.
Perspective is a crazy thing.
We're not supposed to be here.
Have you learned about how we got here?
The whole semen thing?
That's wild.
Gary Vee will break down for you.
You need to hear it.
And also on your birthday, make sure you accept the results of that year
or at least try to accept the results that year
and then once you think about it for a few days okay i can't all right everybody needs what's
this about and if you buy a house make sure you show the whole okay all right you guys are making
a mockery let's be better people okay and let's enjoy this life because we have no idea what's
gonna happen we might all be dead yeah might all be dead tomorrow i do enjoy life because we have no idea what's going to happen. We might all be dead. Might all be dead tomorrow.
I do agree with that.
We have no fucking idea.
Let's enjoy it all.
All right.
I got to go to a dentist.
I'm going to hate it.
So I just said that whole thing.
Maybe it was a motivational to myself.
Yeah, it'll make you better.
It will make you better.
Got to do it.
I had a thing.
Cap, I guess, on my tooth.
Crown.
Crown, there it is
It snapped off at some point I don't know when
Maybe
I don't even know if that's why
They're not that bad don't worry they're not that bad
I don't know
I just thought it was going to stop hurting
I thought it was just going to stop hurting
So it's been like four weeks
With not being able to drink like cold water
Or hot stuff.
Oh, yeah.
That's tough.
Cold beer on Friday night.
Yeah.
Can't have one.
That's a shame.
Gene's a little too tired.
And the radio.
I haven't been able to have any of that.
Chicken fry, I haven't been able to have any of it because I've just been having to eat out of one.
But I thought the nerve would stop hurting.
Like, hey, enough. Knock it off. I thought that for a to eat out of one. But I thought the nerve would stop hurting. Like, hey, enough.
Knock it off.
I thought that for a couple years.
It's getting worse.
It's getting worse.
It does.
And then I looked at it.
Get it taken care of.
Get it taken care of.
It's worth it.
Yeah, 100%.
Well, I went and looked at it.
So I looked at it for the first time.
Like, I didn't even want to see it.
I don't want to know.
Boy, it's very clearly fucked up.
Is it?
Yeah.
All right, look at that.
That happened to me, and they had to just rip the tooth out that day.
That the cap ripped off from an earlier situation that I had crushed.
I don't think you're there yet if it's only been like a few weeks.
I mean, this guy just said, like, yeah, I spent three years thinking it would go away.
I don't know.
I saw it.
If they say a root canal, if you're not down any teeth yet, just get rid of it.
I agree.
I think getting the teeth yanked is not as bad.
As long as you're not down any.
I'm down two or three.
I got to get root canals.
But if you're not down any yet.
I don't want it.
Get it out.
Yeah, get it out.
Because if you get a root canal, you're just going to have to keep going back forever.
Yeah, I'm not doing that.
I'm not a sucker.
Oh, you know.
No.
Get a root canal.
Save it if you can.
Get out.
It's in the back.
It's been annoying.
You sound like a fucking dentist. Fuck you. Save the Save it if you can. Get out. It's in the back. It's been annoying. You sound like a fucking dentist.
You save the tooth if you can.
You got a great smile, D-Buck.
You got a great smile.
It's a back row.
You should just tell the Ripper ball out.
I mean, the back.
You say, fuck it.
Just get rid of all of them.
Put you in my, my, my, my, my, my.
Need them.
They're cool.
They're awesome.
The back ones?
Yeah, but I got another side.
Yeah, I've been working with it for a while.
Sure.
Yeah, plus we're talking about smiles.
Go ahead, smile.
Ah.
Yeah, you can't see the one that they're going to yank.
If you can't see it, get rid of it.
You get a fake one later.
Bingo.
A gold one.
All right, so I'm walking in there saying take it out.
You should have.
How's this work?
I know when you're a kid.
The fake one means they're going to –
the fake one, they have to drill –
put a drill –
I'm not doing it.
We'll cross that bridge later.
I'm not doing it.
If you're not down any,
just get it yanked. You can spare
one. Just keep yanking a couple teeth
a year. It'll be cool. A couple teeth is my first time.
Now, granted, it can't happen again because I will
get a steak anymore.
You're going to wear that other side out, though. If you yank that one,
you wear the other side out. This side's been
holding up just fine for the last month. I know.
Yeah, it has. I don't like every once in a while
though something will just permeate its way over there. I know. Yeah, it has. I don't like every once in a while, though, something will just permeate
its way over there. I would think I have
completely trapped a sanctuary, if you will,
with my tongue. And then all of a sudden,
it sneaks in the back door almost.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh it too sometimes you bring out it you know the actual worse i think in everybody might experience it differently but this is my first time going through something like this so this is a wild scene for me but like if it's something that's like kind of a dud of a bite like a crust of
something sure or like uh like a gummy or something like that if it's like a dud whenever you bite
down on it boy that one has really caused me some real hours of sleep.
This thing has kept me up at night.
I mean, it has been a full on.
It's no joke.
I just took an ibuprofen yesterday for the first time for it.
I didn't even think that that would work, but it did.
I told you.
Fucking go there.
Should have been doing that for weeks.
Would not be this.
Sure enough, it did.
Sure enough, it went right to it.
I mean, why haven't I been fucking doing that for weeks?
Why haven't I been doing that for weeks?
Now you know.
What a fucking idiot.
I was so mad.
When it was like the pain went away completely,
I was like, this is going to be my life for the last four weeks?
Holy shit.
What a fucking idiot.
Of course it works.
That's because you talked to it.
You got to talk to it.
And now you fixed it today.
Yeah, I think I might just take ivy pro for when i get
there when push comes to shove i don't know if they're gonna be able to get me on that seat
i don't know give me the laughing gas they do need to gas the out of it
that's quick if they're just pulling it out right i go down there put me on a thing do the thing get
me out of the thing yeah they're not gas in your mouth in 10 minutes they're not gassing
they're not what i don't know when they give you
gas, but not for root canals. They don't give you gas
because they need your mouth all the way up. They need to get in there.
You've got to ask for it. I need to be
gassed. I've asked for it, yeah.
Good luck with the root canal. Maybe they will.
I'm not doing a root canal. We already said I'm not doing
a root canal. I'm pulling them out. If they pull it,
yeah, good luck. If they pull it, they're not going to gas you.
They'll jam that needle in there and numb it up
for a while. Yeah, I remember that big old room for a while.
And then they go shooting up through your face.
They hit a nerve and all the paint shoots up through your face.
I've had it all.
You know, I got all the fake ones now.
Do you remember when AJ was on and a waterfall and I was like.
Nothing happened.
Something happened to you?
No.
No.
Better the time you got poked in the eye.
You had to wear an eye patch.
I forgot about that.
I got jabbed.
What did you say?
Your cornea healed quicker than anybody in the history or something like that?
I got jabbed.
It's not completely, you know, it's still pretty sensitive to light.
That's for sure.
I love that that whole thing happened with your face and mouth.
You then got your face scanned for WWE.
Remember?
Oh, yeah.
Right after it.
Right after it. Well, that kind of came out of nowhere for Remember? Oh, yeah. Right after it.
Well, that kind of came out of nowhere for me.
So, yeah.
Right in the middle.
Hey, that game's awesome.
Been playing it still?
All the time.
Every day.
Every night.
You guys got titles?
I got to get back in the ring.
Yeah, we do got to get back in the ring.
I got to get back in.
If this ball goes in, this Dennis thing is going to go great.
Yeah.
Boom.
Better make this one.
Oh, yeah. Bang! Yeah, see? There we go. Take care. Well done. Better make this one Oh yeah
Oh
Bang
Yeah see
There we go
Take care
Well done
Great
There it is
Now a lot of people
Are going to question
How often you've really
Truly focused in on these
There's old patch
Oh boy
Man that was painful
It was painful
We couldn't even see the patch
With those sunglasses on
So
It's crazy.
Thankfully you did that.
Thankfully you did that.
Boy, I'm glad I got through that.
I'm glad it happened, though.
I honestly am.
It was a new pain I've never dealt with.
Adversity.
Calloused.
Not even your eyeball.
Calloused up.
That's A.J. Hawk football.
All right.
Tua, we don't need any more tackles.
Nope.
I'm just leaving.
Appreciate the effort, though.
Me too.
This guy loves football.
The thing with Darlington was really cool.
Was it?
Yeah, it was like five minutes.
All right, I'm going to watch it.
I saw it.
Guy just loves football.
I love that he's my quarterback.
That's my QB1.
He's all in, man.
Till death he's.
Yeah, cherish those moments.
Nice.
Come on.
I don't say it.
All right.
Be a friend, tell a friend.
It might all change.
We've had 10 quarterbacks.
Yeah, every day.
We've had 10 quarterbacks.
All right.
Be a friend, tell a friend something nice.
It might change your life.
Like our friends at Dude Wipes.
All right?
It's great for your cheeks.
It's great for your life.
It's Dude Wipes. We're? It's great for your cheeks. It's great for your life. It's Dude Wipes.
We're going to sit together.
Team on me.
Team on three.
That ball went in, so that's good, right?
Yeah.
Great news.
Everything's going to go good.
Great news.
That's why I started hurrying.
I guess we should take another ride.
One, two, three, team.
Goodbye.
