Hello beautiful people and welcome to our humble abode the Thunderdome on this magical overreaction Monday
December 2nd, 2024 this program starts now
Amazing there's so much going on around the sport
We are so incredibly lucky that we get to talk about it in college
Chaos is about to happen tomorrow night with the new college football playoff rankings
Especially after everything that happened this past weekend and rivalry weekend with
championship weekend ahead. I can't wait. But when you talk about the NFL now, okay, week 13 has subsided. Now the Browns at the Broncos tonight. Broncos favored by six and a half. That's going to be a great game. Let's assume the Broncos win. Now, Jamis might do something bananas, but let's assume the Broncos win that thing. The Broncos are now in the conversation.
And that's kind of the beautiful part
about this particular time.
And you think back to Thursday, we had a snow globe.
Last night, we had a snow globe.
And now we're in the time post Thanksgiving.
Hope you all had a great one.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Happy Thanksgiving.
All day season.
Hope you had a great weekend.
We had a four day weekend, obviously.
Had a chance to travel down to College Station, Texas.
Enjoy that rivalry.
Learned a lot about the hatred for Texas
But we hope you had and congrats to Texas getting a massive win down there. I picked again. Sorry had to
Electro I do it. It was I just felt good. Yeah, the can the dude whenever they start something to dudes
Yeah, Tyler during a 33 yarder. Yes, and NFL extra point 33 yards through he would have got it up over the line, too
I was sandbagged by those dudes. I want to let you know I was talking to Tyler all the way up until the night before
He goes I don't know it's 50-50 more. I thought about the more I learned the worse of God
They've been working on it at the facility then obviously with that big-ass Texas A&M flag flying
$100,000 to charity on the line
We knew the dudes were gonna show up. Oh, yeah, and I'll let you know purple hoser had a great attitude
Yeah, tall guy fantastic the twins phenomenal to be around but the beard Tyler this son of a bitch can seemingly do anything
Yeah, and whenever you watch him on the internet everybody says yeah, but how many how many how many how many?
One try that's right. Yep ball not even fully inflated
He even says I got a little quirky hold cuz they've been watching film on Herb Street's holds
He's like in the moment showed up in a big way. It was awesome being down there
dudes to
$100,000 out of their pocket would have been nothing. Yeah
Even though it seemed like it would have yeah sound like they were a little bit worried
Yeah, and I respect and appreciate that I do genuinely don't charity. I think they were one of the twins said I don't want to donate
I appreciate that, I do, genuinely. Donor charity, I think one of the twins said,
I don't want to donate!
That was awesome.
That was absolutely awesome from the twins.
But if you look up what they've done business-wise
on the internet, like hey, congrats to you all.
Congratulations.
And I would take no more Tyler Slander.
None.
By anybody.
That kick was good.
Good, good.
Even stopped him, froze him.
Which leads to, is this guy gonna be kicking for the Ravens. Whoa, maybe
A lot of people asking that question with Justin Tucker. I'd like to let Justin Tucker know. Hey keep swinging bud
Keep kicking bud, but that is a massive storyline because Baltimore Ravens are also a team that's ready to go
There's two teams that have one loss in the entire NFL right now in both of them
We have wonders on whether or not they're gonna be able to finish this season. The Detroit Football Alliance last
week I said best team in football. Then you start looking at all the injuries
not only did they have on Thanksgiving but before that coming in here's their
front seven from the beginning of the season and all the red lines are all
people that have been injured and gone. Gonna be tough to continue to win
especially against great teams down the road. You look at the Kansas City Chiefs and
there's some stats coming out about the Kansai Chiefs,
who get another big time win.
The Chiefs lead the NFL in one score games.
Okay, they're currently at nine of them.
Oh.
The last three years,
the people that, the teams that led the NFL
in one score games,
it was the Steelers last year,
two years ago it was the Vikings,
and three years ago it was the Steelers.
They all lost in the first round of the playoffs.
As soon as they play against a real team in the playoffs they lose Chiefs are still the Chiefs
So let's never ever forget that not calling them the Steelers or the Vikings but speaking of the Steelers are they all the way back?
Whoa, they go for over four Russell Wilson goes for over 400 yards 500 yards a total on offense side
Well, they also give up 30 points and Cincinnati Bengals fun fact about the Cincinnati Bengals is
There they they've given up 30 points. Here we go. Win-loss record
scoring 33 plus points, which the Bengals obviously have done six times this year. They're
two and four. The rest of the NFL won scoring 33 points, 52 and one.
What?
So are the Steelers back?
Are the Steelers all the way back?
Or are the Bengals potentially, what the hell?
Then you go over to the NFC side, it's like this Philadelphia Eagles team.
They all of a sudden, they get a massive win over this ball.
It's a Raven squad and Lamar Jackson, what he said afterwards, I believe in the Ravens
going on still to this day.
What a game.
They were in it.
Justin Tucker once again misses a couple of kicks, leaves on the field.
I think he's going to get better or they're going to put him on IR. I don't think you cut Justin Tucker
I think there's something going on there has to be there's no reason for him to be missing the same kick every single time
Bam-bam-bam-bam then he tries to push one misses the one to the right then another kick goes to the right
It's like I think if you're missing both left and right then there's calls for you know full panic over here
But he's still Justin Tucker
We have to remember that made two kicks including a 50-yarder in this game
Even though all we're gonna highlight is the misses but nonetheless the Philadelphia Eagles get to win in the way
They're operating right now how they're operating remember
We told you a stat last week that the top four rushers in the NFL were like say Kwan Derek
Josh Jacobs and then shake one Berkeley in the second half. That's a same exact story here with the Baltimore
You know and then Shaquan Barkley in the second half. That's the same exact story here with the Baltimore Ravens
game.
First play of the game, the handball off,
Shaquan goes for like 11 or 13.
Then he's kind of stumped for the first half.
No, I'm not saying stumped by Shaquan Barkley's standards.
But then you talk about the end of the game,
Shaquan pops off in the second half.
He goes crazy.
They feel like old school Tennessee Titans
with Derek Henry.
How they wear you down with this run game,
wear you down with this run game.
But then Jalen Hurts obviously has the capability with the weapons
outside and Dallas Goddard who's an absolute beast to kind of open it up
feels like what Kellen Moore's cooking over there for Philadelphia fantastic
and then talk about Vic Fangio who they were saying he was Vic too Fangio old or
it was potentially Vic Fangio over on the defensive side this vote of Eagles
team I hate to say it,
I think they're the best team in football right now.
Whoa!
Right there with you.
Buffalo Beals now.
Of course.
Let's not get it twisted.
Sure.
What the Buffalo Beals can do and have done
is nothing short of spectacular.
Joining us every single Monday through Wednesday,
a fantastic football brain.
Ladies and gentlemen, nine-year NFL vet,
host of everything DB, Good D, Bad D,
always looking phenomenally cool, Darius D. Butler. Yeah, D. Bunchyear NFL vet, host of everything DB, good D, bad D, always looking phenomenally cool.
There's D.
D.
D.
Philadelphia Eagles, I think, I think everybody's thinking wagon. And once again, Nick Sirianni, is he a pro?
Yeah, you're not even going to get into it. They were down.
Yeah.
Come back and win that game, which obviously makes Baltimore Ravens even bad. Maybe culture and coaching does matter.
Maybe Sirianni isn't just the biggest, dumbest,
dipshit-est of all time.
Maybe, we shall see.
We all like that.
AFC side though, this Buffalo Bill's team.
Everything that we had thought the Buffalo Bills
were gonna be, I think for the last like three, four years,
we're almost seeing come to life right now.
A lot of people say, and I even talked to Gerald McCoy,
who we all have a lot of respect for,
obviously great on NFL game day morning, I said, hey, Snow Globe game. And I had a couple of Buffalo people say and I even talked to Gerald McCoy who we all have a lot of respect for obviously great on NFL Game day morning. I said hey snow globe game and I had a couple Buffalo people say it's not gonna be snow globe
Just call him for flurries. I say excuse me. I grew up in Joe Nardo's hometown. Hello. I know my way around a Doppler
Yeah, okay, especially with that. We do miss you Joe rest in peace to Joe
It became a snow globe game
But remember the conversation was these Buffalo Bills team They might not be the right team for this
They should have a dome actually the way that feels like they took that all personally
Yeah
And from let James cook to the way Josh Allen operate to a Mario Cooper getting dropped
Into that culture into that team and seemingly being more comfortable than he's ever been so comfortable
He's just talking the ball in the middle of a play this Buffalo Bills team feels for real
Oh, yeah, it is good for football.
And I'm loving what I'm seeing.
Obviously they're keeping receipts.
I'm not sure if that was the real offensive coordinator, Joe Brady's Twitter
account, him putting that out, retweeting a video that they put out about all the
talking heads, probably me included, who didn't expect this from the Bills because
losing all that leadership and talent on both sides of the ball defensively and
offensively, you didn't expect this from the Bills.
I know I didn't, but Josh Allen,
he's definitely taking that step.
He's playing high, high level quarterback.
He's efficient with the ball.
He's taking care of it and still making special throws.
You got a stable of backs in the backfield.
Obviously starts with James Cook, with Davis,
you know, Johnson, you can hand those ball,
the ball off to any of those guys and they stay fresh.
The offensive line have been doing a great job all year long.
You've seen them on AQ's list a few times.
Wide receiver will probably be the position group,
which coming into the season, you had questions about,
but once again with Josh Allen playing the way that he is,
he can pick those guys up secure.
And obviously Coop, he's only been there a few weeks
and he's comfortable enough to be doing shit like this,
catching the ball, pitching it back to his quarterback.
I'm loving everything about him, defense side of the ball.
Milano's getting back in the fold,
he's getting his legs back up front.
They got really good rushers on the back end.
They got good DBs, good defense.
And they're getting relatively healthy, you know,
for the home stretch.
The rest of their schedule, they got the Patriots twice.
They got the Rams, they got the Lions,
and I believe the Jets.
So you would expect them to win at least three or four of those,
going into this home stretch and you'll maybe have a team that have to go out to
Western New York and play this wagon right now.
But Bill's got everything right now at the top of the AFC.
Rams are back to 500, obviously after a big win.
They're still in a conversation over there in the NFC West.
Shout out to Seattle, seemingly really starting to do it.
But you talk about the Patriots, it's a good ball club.
Tough ball club. That's a tough Patriots, it's a good ball club. Yeah, tough ball club.
That's tough ball club, that's a big win.
You get a win over the Patriots,
which the Indianapolis Colts did.
Shane Steichen goes for two after a 19 play game winning
drive up there in Foxborough, which is beautiful.
But let's get back to the AFC East Champions.
They've already clinched five games left.
This Buffalo Bills team, let's go to the toxic table
at Ty Schmidt.
Hey Packers
Yeah, hey feel pretty good right now
Big one on Thursday night against the Lions obviously three-headed monster in the NFC North you guys the Lions and the Vikings a lot
Of that's about to get sorted in the next couple weeks are all playing each other multiple times should be beautiful
Let's go to you. Obviously New England has a guy in Drake may I think whenever you're watching that you can tell that
You guys lose that game Colts still in it Obviously New England has a guy in Drake Bay. I think whenever you're watching that, you can tell that.
You guys lose that game, Colts still in it.
Indianapolis Colts are still in it.
Still looking for the seventh seed,
even though the Broncos I think are currently there.
And the Broncos seemingly playing very good football as well.
Still wide open for that.
But the Apes, big one.
Broncos and Browns, six and a half points.
But we will definitely focus on that.
And we definitely talked about that one time before we went live.
We knew that game.
About how big this game is tonight.
After how fantastic the weekend was.
But let's get back to AFC East.
The first clinching division champion of the year.
Five games left.
It's only happened, I guess, four times in history.
And I was a part of the team that did it last in 2009.
That was the year we were undefeated.
Very good. And then we chose to lose to the New York Jets and then we chose to lose to the Buffalo Bills last two weeks and by
We I mean the people that are on the team who had actual say and I'm not talking about the players
I'm talking about one specific general manager
He chose in to rest our guys not getting by hurt
I think because he understood that the way his roster was constructed not a lot of depth
There's no reason to get anybody injured when we've already sealed number one seed, we're
already heading into playoffs.
They still got five games left.
Number one seed in the AFC, still up for grabs very much so with the Kansas City Chiefs.
What do you expect from this Buffalo Bills team in the AFC East that you deemed dead
not too long ago?
Yeah, I mean, it's hard to say that they're not up there with the top tier teams that
will be competing for the Super Bowl. Diba mentioned the video they put out of
a bunch of people saying that the Bills are dead. I very much appreciate the admin of that account
not putting me in there because I probably sat on here for five, 600 times at the Buffalo. I think
the Buffalo Bills like us. Yeah. Yeah. Which is very nice because obviously I have my qualms,
but the, the Bills window for Super Bowls will forever be open now with Josh Allen
I mean he's throwing to Mack Collins who showed up without shoes on very cool zany guy
But again, I don't think coming into the season. We were like, hey Mack Collins is gonna be making massive plays for the Buffalo Bills
You know in week 13 week 14 closing out the season and they had a Mario Cooper. That's awesome
That goes to why the Buffalo Bills window is gonna be open with Josh on because they have you know a GM and Brandon Bean
Who's willing to go out and get guys to support Josh out and obviously he can do everything
He can throw the ball he can run the ball
But then they're all lying like we talked about Mitch Morse
Kind of being one of those massive pieces that they lost and there was a few others but Deion Dawkins has been one of the best to alignment.
I loved him when he snowboarded.
Yeah that was very very cool and they're just solid all around.
There's nothing you can really look at and be like hey they're not great.
Dawkins and Cade didn't even play last night and he was their first round pick last year
and he's one of their best pass catchers and you know Ray Davis Coleman, you know another rookie
They're getting guys that have contributed from day one really and then you add in James Cook
They really are a team that just like the Chiefs
They're gonna have a Super Bowl contending team for the foreseeable future when Josh Allen's and congratulations to
Brandon being in the whole crew over there cuz they had to rebuild this
Yeah, you know whenever you're great now granted they have one of Super Bowl sir. But are they great party? Yeah, just like the Niners have been
Hmm Christian McCaffrey injury that he's saying that's it. I mean
They mentioned Fred Warner at the beginning of the game being upset with here and everything that's being said about him and then Josh just
Goes bananas
Against their team in the snow and it it's like, there is a thought
that the San Francisco 49ers deserve some grace
because of the injuries and everything that has happened.
But with how great they have been
and how late we found out about this guy's injuries.
Remember, it wasn't until the first week of the season
that we found out that he had arthritis
on both of his Achilles tendons, both of them.
I'm not saying that affects the PCL,
but anytime there's an ailing anything in your body, you know, the foot bones connected to the ankle
bone, the ankle bone is connected to the shin bone, the shin bone is connected to the knee
bone, and the knee bone is connected to the thigh bone, and then obviously the penis sits
in between both of them.
Exactly.
Well said.
That is science, I do believe. So who knows how much one thing affects another, whatever
the case. He gets tackled on a play
He doesn't know anything's up then he has a torn PCL is what Kyle Shanahan's early reports are we'll talk to chef here in
About six minutes. It's like they've just been a different team
Is it because they haven't had Christian McCaffrey also maybe because remember he was a spark plug that got him going as soon as he got
Dropped in there. He was throwing touchdowns catching touchdownss, running for touchdowns, running people over, celebrating George Kiddles, pancakeing people, Debo Samuels doing his thing. He was
kind of, you know, the straw that stirred the drink for that particular San Francisco 49ers
offense. But maybe it was for the entire tone of the entire team. And obviously they have
other injuries as well. But we'd like to say the San Francisco 49ers excited to watch you
guys get back to form next year. Not that you're all the way out of it, but feels like
this year is going to be considered a punt for the Niners team. Now on the flip side,
this feels like the year for the Buffalo Bills. For sure. And if you look at the Chiefs, they
only have one score games, how close and how, they'll get out game, they'll get out rush,
there'll be some penalties that come. Sure, it's going to happen. Some penalties that
don't come. You know, these are things that happen.. So these that don't come like, you know, these are things a lot of it
Yeah, okay
You know
But like this if you're the Buffalo Bills
You have to give so much credit to Brandon Bean because just like the Patriots had to do all those years and they won
Super Bowl isn't had to do it. But whenever you got a great team
That means everybody wants your players, which means there's bidding wars
Which means contracts go up and when there's an actual salary cap, even though you can do gymnastics and you
can kind of dance around it for a while, you're going to have to like re-imagine
your team, you're going to have to be able to draft somebody that's going to
have to replace a household name.
You're going to have to get somebody for much cheaper than what you've been
paying somebody at a very key pivotal position.
And the fact that they've been able to just reload as opposed to rebuild in this particular season.
You know, and a lot of people talking about
at the beginning of the season,
who's going to play safety back?
You put Tamar Hamlin back there?
It's like, yeah.
Bingo.
Yeah, Tamar Hamlin.
He's going to play back there.
He was getting mocked and ridiculed
at the beginning of the year.
Now it's like their defense is,
I think their defense can win them a game
if they have to do it all.
It's like congrats to the Buffalo Bills
for being able to reload instead of rebuild and
Obviously very timely turnovers helped and everything like that, but it's like I'm so pumped for being and that Bills mafia
I mean they want this every single game
Yeah
They want this every single game and I think for the first time in the Josh Allen era
We can all confidently say that team's built to play in that type of weather as opposed to home field advantage
Maybe in a detriment maybe helping another team. Maybe not being well our MO is it's like last night
You see Ray Davis diving in you see James Cook looking like he's fine
You see Mark Cooper tossing was like they look like they were having fun. Yeah in that way
They look like they were all in and very confident
It's like that's a dangerous team If they're against the San Francisco 49ers,
they're doing that.
Who knows what mentality that leads to going forward.
And with Josh Allen, I think we were kind of always waiting
for the other shoe to drop in past years,
but this is like the first time in his career,
you can confidently say like,
he's not gonna try to put everything on his shoulders
and have that backbreaking turnover,
that interception or him holding the football
like a loaf of bread, trying to create an explosive play.
Like he's protecting the ball and just everything's coming up.
As is then defensively when Matt Milano got hurt at the start of the season,
everyone kind of just wrote him off. It's like, Oh, okay. Well,
you look at they lost all these guys already.
Milano is kind of like their linchpin. They lose him like,
and that was still kind of when everyone had jets fever.
And now at this point you look at them
It's like it is hard to argue that you know obviously there's some other very good teams in the AFC
but it's tough to watch them play and not think like
No one wants to go play Buffalo right now
Especially if you're going into Buffalo and playing in two feet of snow if the Chiefs weren't back-to-back Super Bowl champion, right?
Yeah, right now. No, there's winning games. They're 11 and 1. Yeah, yeah, you know everybody
They haven't even played their best football yet. They're 11 and 1 if the Chiefs didn't exist. This would be a
Non-starter Beals versus at the Lions or the Eagles that would be the Packers fans would be pissed Vikings fans would be pissed
But the NFC would have its full discussion and then it would be Buffalo Beals. Yeah, and then Lamar Jackson
Yeah, right right after yeah, it'd be Lamar Jackson right afterwards
But now because the Chiefs are in the back to back, you always have to respect that.
Like, hey, this team wins somehow.
Is it the football gods blessing them with a flag or a non-flag?
Maybe.
Is it them being able to squeak one out when other people aren't able to do it?
Maybe.
Is it them being able to make a play whenever it's needed, even though the likelihood of
the play actually happening is so slim to none?
Maybe.
Is it because they're able to make the kicks other people are never made whatever the case they win like that is what's
cancer the Chiefs is still the Chiefs into the Chiefs we are no longer the
Chiefs and people are thinking that's right now they're 11 and 1 yeah but to
the bills to like it's all well and good we can talk about all this stuff about
how great they look but like ultimately until they beat the Chiefs in the
playoffs like nobody can't exactly none of this matter
yeah they have a title top of the playoffs like nobody can't exactly none of this matter
Yeah, they have a title top of the list Josh Allen We've we've been talking about him in MVP conversations for years now
We always talk about how you know how many the numbers he put up and then obviously we remember the 13 seconds
But yeah
None of it matters if they can't get over the humps that that chiefs is 11 and one
It's still I still kids chiefs still the chiefs
So I know they haven't figured it out.
I'm more concerned about the defense.
That defense surprisingly just is not on the same page
as they were last year.
But I still expect Patrick Mahomes
to still be right there once those were done.
Okay, to your point about the MVP,
let's go to a person that actually has a vote.
One half of the hammer, gone.
Cowboys, AP tone.
What happened in week 13
that either changed your MVP projection list or what does your watch list look like for your?
Associated press vote for the MVP this upcoming season. Yeah for my for my
AP vote for MVP
I got a top four right now and you guys been talking about Josh Allen a lot
He is the odds-on favorite at all sportsbooks
He is the odds-on favorite at all sportsbooks. Around minus 250 at all sportsbooks is Josh Allen.
Now he has 26 total touchdowns to five interceptions.
Like those numbers are just absurd.
And obviously when you're leading one of the best teams
in the AFC and it's basically not all on his back,
obviously the running game is incredible,
but it all goes through Josh Allen.
And then Lamar, even with the loss to to the Eagles Lamar has 32 total touchdowns
The three interceptions so good and if you look at the film like the three interceptions like they've been all been
Deflection and stuff like that like Lamar is playing better
This is his best year yet, and he's won two MVPs already people are waiting for him to miss too
So they can oh yeah, whatever. It's like this dude throws seats
Yeah, he overshot Mark Andrews in the first series.
Jalen Hurts overshot AJ Brown in the first.
It felt like they were like kind of getting there.
And then there's a touchdown to Mark Andrews
immediately afterwards where the ball is thrown
in one spot and it's right where Mark Andrews.
Lamar has become elite right here, right here and here.
And let's talk about Lamar Jackson being honest.
Did you hear his post-game interview?
Uh-huh.
Awesome.
You know, and I think what happened against the Chiefs
last year in the AFC Championship or whatever it was,
he, they didn't run the ball.
No.
He just threw the ball, threw the ball,
threw the ball, threw the ball.
And there was a lot of people saying
that he could have ran, he could have ran.
Then there was a narrative saying,
Lamar wants to kill the narrative
that he's a running back playing quarterback.
He wants to win by being a quarterback. And I don't know if Lamar heard that or he thought that he's a running back playing quarterback. He wants to win by being a quarterback and I don't know if Lamar
heard that or he thought that but here's the conversation he had with his mom
after yesterday's game after losing by five to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Do you feel like there were some opportunities to run today for you that you may have passed up?
Yeah, my momma just told me that. She just cussed me out so like I'm mad so like we gonna get
after it I ain't gonna lie to we gonna get after it I can't wait to this bot
get get on we got the Giants coming up I'm ready to go like that's what I'm
saying I'm just saying she said was lanes I should have took a rant but you
know I was just trying to let guys develop routes we had developing routes
I was just trying to go through my progression.
But yeah, she right.
I'm going to do my ****.
Like, ****.
Lamar, are you gonna be?
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry for this.
I'm just mad because I feel like we should win these games
and we not get them done.
Not just tonight, but last week,
have you been making a concerted effort to run less?
It seems like there have been.
No, that's not on my mind.
No, that's not on my mind.
I'm just trying to let things happen
and trying to get my guys opportunities again to ball.
That's all.
They go through my progressions.
So hearing that makes me think like, okay, I'm betting on Lamar going forward.
But if his mom did tell him that and that's how he took it, it's like Giants, first of
all, good luck.
Yeah, that's tough.
Pulling for you guys, but also the rest of the year.
If Lamar is going to get back to, and I'm not saying get back as he rushed for like 79
yards something like yeah, this is not a thing like that
But if he does get to the point where he started to run a little bit earlier, maybe it's like there's only one Lamar
Jackson on earth
So when you talk MVP those stats that are bananas you said how many touchdowns 32? 32 total to three interceptions
Okay, and then if he's just gonna pick it up more on the ground and those touch has gonna keep coming look out for him to close that strong, but there's a running back up there now, Tom
Yeah, I mean sake ones averaging almost 150 total yards a game like that's that's crazy
That's that's absurd like we talked about him being the leading rusher in the league and then also the fourth leading rusher if you
Only do his second half stats like and sake one
Yeah, I mean the the offense is great with Jalen and AJ Brown and everything
but I mean sake I mean the the offense is great with Jalen and AJ Brown and everything but I mean Saquon is the the the creme de la creme he really is I mean since joining
there it's just like what happened with Christian McCaffrey with San Francisco they understood
Saquon it seems like they all appreciate Saquon too they said he's great Jamal Singleton coach
Singleton is a running back coach. He was with Indianapolis.
He's a good vibes guy.
We're talking like, great energy all the time.
I think he told the commentator whenever they zoomed in on me
he had a good beer going, he did look good.
It was late in the season, you know,
so he comfortable after Thanksgiving,
but he had a good beard there.
And I think he, what's that?
Okay, yeah, all right.
So anyways, he said that like Saquon's energy in the locker room is like infectious too.
You're talking about getting like a home run human and a home run player in Philadelphia.
So how last year ended for the Eagles, I think a lot of people are there like if Saquon's on our team, obviously,
we're just going to continue to ride that. And then with the way that defense playing,
Jaylen Carter played 72 out of 73 of the snaps yesterday.
I think 72 out of 73.
He's playing like 84% of the snaps this year
or something like that, which I think is the most
among D-tacklers, whatever the case is.
It's like Fangio's defense line around.
Saquon is the added piece.
It's like, hey, it was like when Toridol was offered.
Like, hey, do you want this thing
that's gonna make you better immediately? Yeah. It's like when salto was offered. Okay. Like, hey, do you want this thing that's gonna make you better immediately?
Yeah. Sure.
Please.
It's like when salt was introduced to food.
Hey, do you want this thing
that's gonna make this food better immediately?
Yeah.
Hey, do you want this running back for 13 million bucks,
107th highest salary in the entire league?
That's immediately gonna make everything on your team better.
Yeah, is what the Philadelphia Eagles said.
And what did the New York Giants say on camera?
I mean, we don't want to embarrass them,
but we can offer them like 7 million bucks.
Something like that.
And then try to trade them a franchise that we're trying.
We're not on a franchise.
We can find a couple other guys, it'll be fine.
That's all on camera, I'm sure it happens everywhere,
but there's a chance running back wins MVP
for the first time, long time.
And then you look in college, Travis Hunter's
winning that Heisman, I think he's at like minus 10,000.
Could be in the dawning of a new day.
Is the old football now the new football?
Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now
is the knower of all things happening within football.
Senior NFL insider for ESPN, Michigan Man.
Wow.
Ladies and gentlemen, Adam Schefter.
Yay, Jeffrey.
Hold on, I'm just getting done planting my flag over here.
Okay.
All right, all right, Jeff, that's a Michigan thing to do.
It's very Michigan.
It's obviously right.
Hey, I appreciated that.
Mason Graham is doing his interview, doing his interview helmet off, you know, Shremm
Moore comes in, gives like a 35 second promo and says, talk to him.
You don't even talk to me.
He leaves.
They just got the number one quarterback in the country last week.
Future's gonna be very bright up there. And then Graham's giving an interview, talk about his team, super humble.
Then here's the commotion, turns around, immediately puts the helmet on, straps up. It's like
awareness. There's a lot of things that happen within this that can't be happening again.
Okay, obviously. Can't have people on the ground, can't be doing this entire thing.
Cops having to pepper spray people to settle it down. I think the cops actually started pepper spraying people because there was multiple people on the ground, can't be doing this entire thing. No base. Cops having to pepper spray people to settle it down.
I think the cops actually started pepper spraying people because there was multiple people on
the ground, didn't want them to get trampled, whatever the case.
It's all going to go to it.
I respect, okay, and I know I'm going to be one of the only people in sports media that
says this, and understand the mindset of the Jack Sawyer or the people at Ohio State saying,
hey, you're not playing a flag on our field. people are gonna say well win the game they won't do it
it's like these dudes work out on that field these dudes live on that field
that is there so I can see how if you're still out there and somebody's dancing in
your face you get into a altercation rival now do we think that there should
be flags just being planted on every field no do we think people should be
fighting no but I could see how
this could happen. Didn't just happen here though, Shefty. There's like five of them.
Rivalry weekend. I thought it was going to be dead whenever it comes to large. That's
UNC got thrown NC State flag out of the stadium. Then they obviously get into it. Florida,
Florida State. They get into it. Arizona, Arizona State. I mean, it was just awesome.
It was like, I thought rivalries in this generation are gonna be dead. People transfer too much. They
don't have love of school. They don't have hatred of other school and it's
like this was the most heated rivalry weekend there had been. So obviously
there's gonna be sanctions. There's gonna be new rules put in so it doesn't take
place but I think we can find some silver linings in this if we want. Guys
still care. Mascots can throw bombs and we must protect this house. It's still a mindset by a generation that a lot of people thought were soft.
So there's a lot of good, there's a lot of bad. Hopefully they'll figure it out. But nonetheless, congrats to your Michigan.
Whoa! Yeah. I mean, there was a lot, dude. It was a chaotic Saturday college football. But congrats to your Michigan team, Shefty.
What a win. Congrats
your Michigan team. Now, what are you gonna say? You got breaking news right now? Somebody get fired?
Yep. Yep. Hold on a second. Oh no. You just said, just said. By the time you say it, it'll, it'll tweet. Oh!
Dayball. Jesus. It is always during our show he gets an update from the Giants. That's true. Yep. It's always like a Daniel Jones will be the starter
Daniel Jones will
Daniel Jones is not starting Sunday. We know that right
You tell me you
Yeah
All right, not a big surprise but obviously disappointed nonetheless
But tests today showed that Taysom Hills got ligament damage out for the year
Damn, they sure I'm taste Taysom was getting just back to being Taysom godspeed on the recovery Taysom
That sucks obviously down there for New Orleans the NFC South has become
You know Falcons Bucks right
now with a lot of questions around them. Saints with interim coach Rizzi brought
back to Taysom Hill Effect now. It is over. Let's talk about another injury that
took place yesterday. Christian McCaffrey. I think Kyle Shanahan said it was a PCL
injury. It is. Okay, it is a PCL? Yeah, it's a PCL and he did get hurt right here
this was the play and and and
Christian pointed it out to me because I thought it was the play before and he said no it was this play
This is the play where he was basically injured went down bang the knee
PCL injury not good and now again, it's potentially season ending
I would think that in the spot there in with everything that he's been through it's gonna be tough for him to come back
We'll see what the tests today shows. He's having an MRI to determine the full extent of the damage, but it is a PCL injury
Look, I mean this whole season has felt off. We've, we've talked about it on the show.
They have lost so many players and have just been unable to generate any positive momentum.
Every time they've won a game or done something good, it just feels like there's something
that goes wrong.
Like it, it's been that way all year long and you get back McCaffrey and he looked last
night like explosive he looked unbelievable
he looked great in the early part of the game and then he goes and he gets hurt in that
play and it's a PCL injury so we'll see what the tests say you got to figure Kyle Shanahan
said it was a multi-week injury and by the time he's healthy the season's probably gonna
run out on them so is there ACL MCL, right? Is the three that are in there?
I think the ACL, the anterior, the P is the posterior,
and I guess it's not automatically season ending.
It sounds like you say potential week to week.
Is there surgery for this? Do you know anything more about?
You know, I don't know yet.
Again, we'll see what the MRI shows.
I'd like to make some calls on it before I speak medically
about something I'm not smart
enough to do.
But I know that we're looking at a multi-week absence here.
And by the time he's able to come back, assuming that he can come back, which he might not
even be able to do this season, their season may be gone.
Yeah, it is.
I talked about it at the open.
It's like, feels like this is just going to be a season
the Niners are going to have to, you know, bury the ball
and then just hopefully move on to next season.
There's no worries over there, right? For anybody?
I mean, I don't think so. Here's how I always think about it.
Because I think you're asking about the head coach or the GM, right?
If they want to move on from John Lynch or Kyle Shanahan, which I've gotten
zero indication that they want to do, how quickly do you think it would be before there would be
another team that would want to hire both of them? Oh yeah, very quickly. Yeah, let's go to
another second. Let's go to another situation that opened up while we had our break Chicago Bears
fire Eberfluss after whatever that was at the end of the game.
A egregious would be an understatement
for that entire operation.
But the guy who was actually in Caleb Williams' headset
during that whole debacle is now the head coach
of the Chicago Bears.
So obviously Eberfluss, this is not the first time
that something coaching malpractice worthy seemingly took place for the Bears.
Why was this the one that inevitably makes them move on from Ibra Fluse?
And what do you think the future looks like for
the Bears as a whole with Poles as the general manager?
Well, as for why they made the change then,
I think everybody knew that this was coming.
There was a question at the end of last season about whether or not they would keep Matt Eberfluss that they made the decision
to keep him on and then what was amazing is if you go back to the
Hail Mary game if they win that game they go to five and two five and two and
Not only did they give up the Hail Mary but the play before there was a lot of questions about where he allowed the sideline pass to Terry McClure in for about 12 or 13 yards that enabled
the commanders to get into range where they could throw the Hail Mary and Mattie Ruffluss defended
that and there were a number of on field decisions like that that left bears, officials and fans wondering what is going
on.
And I think when that last play happened, it just became obvious.
The team was all riled up and upset.
Everybody knows what's coming.
And at that point in time, like Jim Nance was critical of it during the broadcast.
Jim Nance, like I haven't heard Jim Nance like Nance everybody criticized too many people Jimmy Johnson said it was the worst coaching decision
He's ever made. I mean everybody weighed in Matt Ryan's blasting the decision
What are we doing? You know, they're making the change in all honesty
It was humane to make the change Matt Iberfluss wasn't keeping his job
The only inhumane thing was that they didn't delay the start of the press conference on
Friday from 10 a.m. Central to say, hold on, we're going through some things.
We'll let you know when he's available and then not trotted him out there.
I don't understand that.
Still it's a slight thing, but it's something that means something like, you know this guy's
getting fired.
You didn't have to meet to discuss this.
This had been building for weeks.
It was coming.
Yeah.
And I'm fully preparing to coach this weekend.
I think was his actual answer.
He had to answer numerous times from people and then he gets off the call.
I remember looking at my phone being like, all right, I guess he reflux
gets another week because that's not what the Bears do.
The Bears don't, that's just not their MO. It's just like when Mike Tomlin fired offense
coordinator Matt Kenda last year, like not his MO to fire anybody in the middle of season.
I'll take the blame for it. We'll keep it moving. The Chicago Bears, yeah, for the first time,
they don't do it. So that's what I thought after his press meeting or whatever. It's I had the Bears is the Bears like that's just what the Bears are then when that comes in afternoon
It's like damn now Thomas Brown who's quarterback coach what three weeks ago?
Mm-hmm is now doing okay with the offense now. You're the head coach. You gotta add some more stuff. It's like
fascinating times up there in Chicago
Caleb's kind of not been talked about for that last play and the lack of awareness.
Yeah, not really.
Definitely his fault too.
He's a part of it. He's a rookie quarterback.
So obviously, these are all things you learn from,
but it was like, while you're watching that whole thing,
you're kind of embarrassed for them as a football team.
Yeah.
You're kinda like, hey, this is,
it's like what would happen in college ball,
and then something would take place,
and then the coach would be able to say,
oh, I made this decision last week, and everybody like yeah well that's what he did and the NFL is
just a very different operation with how smart everybody is especially with Nance and Romo and
Nicole good luck to Chicago and to Caleb I think Caleb is a player I think Caleb is a damn damn
good player all right we have some questions about some other stuff popping off around the NFL
Pittsburgh gets a huge win over Cincinnati tone digs this question for you
Yeah, Shafty
I was in the stands for that game and so I got a vibe of the the fans in Cincinnati and boy
Do they they are not happy with that coaching staff?
Especially on the defensive side and I know the Brown family probably doesn't want to want to pay a couple coaches
So I is Zach Taylor's job safe is Lou Anna
Rumo's job safe. What's the situation in Cincinnati?
Well, I think that that's been a very historically stable
Organization and I think those are good coaches like Lou Anna Rumo has been talked about as a head coaching
Candidate for a number of years now and now because the season is going the way it is
Bengals fans obviously not happy.
Zach Taylor has done a great job.
This team is one in the playoffs.
Season is not working out.
So I think when a team goes through a season like this and their record falls to four and
eight the way it is now, that's something they're going to be evaluating.
Again, I think that those guys have typically
been really strong coaches. And this has been a stable organization. So it would surprise
me. But when the team is four and eight, anything is always possible.
I watching the stats that hembo sends over about the Cincinnati team just continue to
pile up. It's like Joe Burrows just sitting over there with his head about to explode.
I assume especially, you know, Jamar chase T the whole everything they're doing over
there.
And then on defense side, can't stop a nosebleed in a tone tone described the
since one thing about this, though, here's what I begin to wonder.
Like you bring up the coaches, like, you know, just watch some of the guys like
more chase and Joe
Borough like they can't be real happy right now of course they can't be real
happy right now or the fans not even giving a high five to the moose
Muth is just trying to spread a little holiday cheer a little joy yeah and
Cincinnati they said there's none of that the I believe the way tone
described to Cincinnati Bengals defense is not something we should necessarily say,
but if your offense is going through a little bit of a wall right now,
you go ahead and visit Cincinnati and all of a sudden there's, hey, our offense can win Super Bowl.
That's not good. Obviously, that's not good. We assume things are gonna change.
I said Thomas Brown was quarterback coach, passing game coordinator.
Okay.
Now head coach after a few weeks. Feels like you get put in that role,
it's a chance for you to showcase
how good of a head coach you can be.
Good luck to him.
NFC North is tough.
Speaking of the NFC North, Ty has a question for you.
Yeah, Chef D, you look at the Lions,
and for whatever reason,
we talk about this 49ers being snake bit,
the Lions front seven on defense,
I mean, we went through the list
It's like he got maybe one or two bodies left standing
What do you think the level of concern is for the Lions moving forward here?
Especially when you consider that the Vikings and the Packers just
Continue to win and they don't really have that margin of error in the division to lose a couple games
You know tie that is that's an unbelievable list. Just put that up there one more time.
I want to talk about that.
Like, look at how many players they've lost.
And I don't care.
Good players, not just players.
Yeah.
I know.
I don't care who you are and how good you are.
And they have been as good as any team in football.
It gets to a certain point where you just have a hard time replacing these guys.
And I mean, to me, they're at a little bit of a breaking point here.
And this defense just, it's going to struggle to be as good as it was.
The pressure is going to be now on Aaron Glenn.
The pressure is going to be on the offense because they're going to have to score more.
You can't keep losing good players and think that everything is just gonna keep going the way that it
has like they signed Kwon Alexander on Friday that I like that pickup they
signed Jamal Adams yesterday they're signing guys off practice squads and off
the streets to try to keep alive a potential championship season that's
what they're doing right now and this always is a war of attrition in this league
always and the good teams overcome injuries but there's
only only so many of those you get to overcome before at some
point it begins showing up on the field and I I just kind of
feel like they're teetering on the edge there right now like I
don't know how many more guys they can lose and still play
like this great Lions team that we've seen. Yeah. You say the good teams get through them and
I agree because there's depth on the good teams or they're able to find a jam that maybe
is able to fill in for somebody. There's a lot of misfortune and luck too. Oh yeah. If
you get the wrong people hurt at the wrong time, like this Christian McCaffrey injury
all year, I think has been the San Francisco 49er moxie sucker you know they don't have the same
moxie as they had in years past these injuries to this particular Lions team it's I mean Aiden
Hutchinson you think yourself damn how you gonna go on and they somehow did then Anzaloni who's
like they're saying he goes down it's like so then more injuries happen the same it's like damn how
can they survive how can they survive their winners up there though their winners up there in Detroit and that's what made
losing in the NFC championship so heartbreaking last year because we did
stay relatively healthy the entire season and it was like are we really
gonna stay that healthy for two straight seasons with how MC DC and Aaron Glenn
play football I don't know and clearly we're not and so I didn't even think
about that how there's the Lions hangover now granted teams are two and
11 after playing the Detroit Lions because the Colts get a win over the Patriots.
But we always talk about the other teams that play the Lions have to take it's like
at some point, it's so strange to because they're all on defense.
The offense has stayed healthy all season.
So I don't know what's up with that either.
That's because you guys just run a wide open seemingly all the time got all the code words out
though huh
they're gonna have to remember all these code where they're gonna have to use new
code words which they probably already have but that was certainly as somebody
who has posted a photo inside of a building before, that in the background is about as bad as it can get.
But be who you can afford to be.
Jameer Gibbs is a dog.
He's a good player.
He's a great player.
We'll get past this.
We will change the words.
We will be A-OK.
If this is anybody else now, you are cut and we're going to actually just erase the whole
wall. All right, that's what we're going to do. But I think the Lions are going to be able to figure gonna actually just erase the whole wall All right
That's what we're gonna do but I think lines are gonna be able to figure it out
But the injuries do scare the shit on me speaking of injuries deep but has a question for you chef
We kind of open to show up talking about these two teams in their respective conference to the best teams the Eagles and the Buffalo
Bills who have both remain relatively healthy getting more healthy
Past catchers big-time past catchers that have been on the shelf. Keon Coleman, Dalton Kincaid for the Bills and then Devontae Smith for the Eagles.
Any updates for those guys?
Well, the interesting part is Kincaid hasn't even practiced.
So I would think that that may be still a little bit of time here.
Keon Coleman was close to getting out there this week.
Was limited in practice.
They felt like there was a chance he wanted to go.
I don't think he's too far away. And I think Devontae Smith will be back this week because he was
close to playing yesterday in the game and it just felt like they were erring to the
side of caution. But to me, Devontae is the closest one to getting back Coleman next and
then King Cade. I think Devontae is back this week for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Man, this Philadelphia Eagles team is fun, dude.
This Shaquan Barkley thing with the hard knock situation,
with the burial of Sirianni every single day,
in the 24-7 sports cycle for the first nine weeks of the season.
It's like, they look powerful, brother.
Is Big Dom on, is he doing more this year than years past, do we know?
Well they gave him more duties, they gave him a bigger title, a larger role, more money.
So you know, hey, you know that Big Dom was approached with a movie deal?
They want to do a movie deal about his life?
James Bond, Rambo 7.
I thought they wanted to beat the new James Bond.
No, no, only English people I think do James Bond, right?
I don't know.
Well, I thought they were going to make an exception.
No, no, it's not.
He's not acting in one of these.
Adult film?
Adult film for us?
No, they're not doing Rocky again either.
Whatever.
It's like Good Will Hunting.
No, I don't think it's OnlyFans or Good Will Hunting.
I don't think it's any of these things.
43 million.
Did you see that?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Geez, Louise.
For Big Dom to play Gandolfini?
I don't think he's doing that either.
Might be the new Hulk. He said somebody wanted to write a mo- No, I don't think he's doing that either might be the new hole
He said somebody wanted to write a movie. No, I don't think he's Hawke. He's Marvel Captain America Captain Italy if you will
No, and I don't think he's going into Moana three, but but there's a chance
What would say they want to write a movie about his life? Well, they want to move his life of his life
You know, like he's a big he's a big star and he even want the attention
You don't want the money was offered a lot of money to do a movie about his life
Not happening. There is a movie about his life. What's it called invincible?
I mean, we don't know boy Eagles fans are all in oh my god. I
Might have got a text from one that we just mentioned there sure boy
We're strong
Do we are strong. We are strong. Eagles fans are believers.
It's the reverse of last year. Last year they crashed and burned as it went on and this
year they seem to be getting better as the season goes on. It's the reverse of last year.
So you'd like to think that they learned something from last year and you go and add some of
the players that they did like Saquon, like Quingon Mitchell, like Cooper Dejean, who hit Derrick Henry yesterday. Why? What is his nickname alongside that other
white boy on the defensive side? Do you know what they call themselves? What do they call themselves?
Is it real? I don't know, but look at that. Boom. What was that? Watch it. What was that? What was
that? There aren't too many people that do that to Derek Henry. I'll just say that.
I don't know. That's impressive is what that is.
Exciting though? Was that kind of exciting or no?
I don't know. Again, you don't see too many defensive backs in the open field
toss back Derek Henry.
Well, not only that. We're talking about...
Dump them.
Dump them. And Dumped him.
And then talk your shit afterwards, obviously.
You know, if that was an exciting play to you,
and he is a what boy, I guess they are,
they are dubbed the exciting what of the Philadelphia Eagles,
if you would like to report that, that is their name.
Okay, there you go.
What did I say their names are the
exciting whites what was that gotta like that I like that change to that it's
over yes and then what we're good just for the movie and I'm not gonna do it
again got it make sure you put it I'm dumb but I am at that dumb make sure you
put it yeah we already got the clip off I'm dumb, but I am that dumb. Make sure you put it in a, yeah, we already got the clip. Obviously, we're the Exciting Whites.
Exactly.
I'm sure we'll never see that again.
No, but if you, that, hey, we're just, this is journalism standards.
Absolutely right.
That is what they're calling themselves, the Exciting Whites.
And I'll tell you what, almost immediately after that play, there was a pick by another
white boy in the back of that thing.
The Philadelphia Eagles are fun to watch flying around, moxie through the roof.
And you talk about, instead of crashing at the end of season fun to watch flying around moxie through the roof and you talk about
Instead of crashing at the end of season
They're only getting better if you look at and you talk about everybody they're adding you look at Saquon first quarter second quarter third quarter fourth quarter
It's like they're getting better as the games go on they're getting better as the season goes on
They're completely built the right way as opposed to what happened last year and shout the cam Juergens going in there
Filling in for like the greatest center of all time Jason Kelsey and kind of picking up right where he left off now from the top of the charts
Let's go to the bottom of everything
Conman has a question for you
Yeah, I should have a little bit of a scary scene in Jacksonville yesterday with Trevor Lawrence getting obliterated and then you know
He locked up clearly got a concussion immediately
What's his status and then going to Doug Peterson, also in Jacksonville,
obviously not much hope for the rest of the season.
What's his status going forward as the head coach down there?
Well, there's been a lot of talk about the Jaguars making
changes and they haven't made any changes.
And it sounds like they're just gonna ride this out till the end of the season.
And what I found interesting yesterday is that their left tackle Walker little
signs this three or $45 million extension before the game and the general manager
Trent Bollock, he did that deal.
Now there's been a lot of questions about his future and Doug Peterson's future,
but they're handling this organization like they're going to be there,
like they're operating. Now, do we think that that's going to be the case? No.
I think that there's going to be some change that comes there.
But it certainly sounds like they're going gonna wait till the end of the season here
before they make any changes and Trevor Lawrence goes down yesterday on that hit which
The Texans linebacker Aziz al Shire is gonna get suspended for the question is how long?
But that'll happen here soon where he's gonna get suspended for that hit right there
Trevor goes down with a concussion, carted off.
You see the melee in a weekend of all sorts of sportsman like activities.
Here was the latest example.
Once again, I think the fight was warranted.
I had to have to.
I can see how teammates would fight in that particular situation.
I think Aziz in his response, he apologized to Trevor Lawrence and also said to the Jacksonville
Jaguars fans our players
I understand completely why you reacted the way that you reacted after watching it
He said he thought it was a little bit of a late slide. He already made up his mind bang bang
Everybody else with eyes said that's not the case. He came out apologize always scary obviously can't have us in a game and
That's what the suspension is gonna be for. Yeah, that's what suspensions gonna be it will I mean that's what the suspension's gonna be for. Yeah. That's what suspension's gonna be. It will. I mean, that's the kind of player you want. You want players, some players,
you know, linebackers, D linemen who kind of towed that line. It was kind of a late
slot or whatever, but you see players have gotten so good at avoiding those hits because
you know how protected players, especially quarterbacks, are. And that's a tough, tough
spot to be in as a defender for sure. I sure we're looking in back for him He probably regrets it because he's gonna miss some time now and obviously miss some money
But at the same time that's kind of that's he said
Yeah, he got a fight earlier
I mean there is he's got the seat in D'Amico has won the bat for him a lot of times like hey
This is who we are if you're on the field. We're gonna hit you
Everybody that watches one though thought this was dirty and late. Yep, and
Aziz has to wear that that's what he he's going to get fine, get suspended.
And we hope Trevor Lawrence is going to be okay.
We hope that was scared on.
Go ahead.
Trevor Lawrence, they're two and 10.
He's been dealing with a left shoulder injury.
He's now got the concussion.
I would say, frankly, in my opinion,
I'd be surprised if we see Trevor Lawrence play again this season.
Like, why are we putting him out there? To me, it's time to rest him up and start getting him ready
for 2025. He was dealing with a shoulder injury that he was playing through. That was hard enough
to be out there. Now you get this massive blow to his head where he has to be carted off. Why are
we going to go put him back out there at two and 10? Like, what are we doing?
To me, he doesn't play.
Yeah, that was his, you know.
He's extraordinarily tough,
and he plays through everything.
But somebody, somebody needs to tell him,
in his best interest,
you shouldn't be playing again this season.
I'll be excited to see how that works out,
especially with the new deal, 55 million,
one of the only attractions on that team. The Kahn family I assume
would like the best for Trevor Lawrence as well can't get hurt even more going
down the stretch that would be devastating for that entire operation
going forward so I understand where you're coming let's talk about Justin
Tucker with the Baltimore Ravens you're talking about Goat one of the goats
always has been a part of the conversation since he dropped into the
NFL he's obviously going through it.
And yesterday, if he makes his kicks like Justin Tucker normally does, they
beat the Philadelphia Eagles.
Now, if a ball goes into Philadelphia Eagles act operate differently
after the kick, probably.
So everybody that just puts the points on the board and says like, look, if you
just add these points, you know, it's going to be a win.
There's probably going to be, you know, different strategies involved whenever there's different points made or lost
But what do you think is the next move here for the Ravens and Harbaugh said?
I don't think cutting Justin Tucker is a move that I'm ever gonna make. Well, I've seen situations like this in the past
I believe you correct me if you're wrong where a kicker or a punter or something like that
Gets put on IR for the rest of year
So then they can just kind of put off this decision have a restart for next year
Is there anything going on with Justin Tucker that we don't know about and what do you think ends up happening over there?
Well, he's struggling right now. It's a very strange thing because we've never seen this guy struggle
other than
This past season so, you know, here the thing, everybody wants them to replace him.
And there's been this, or should they replace,
who are you gonna replace him with?
I mean, these teams have been juggling kickers
all year long.
Is there somebody you're gonna pull on the street
that you'd have more faith and confidence in
than Justin Tucker?
You just hope that the guy's gonna come out of there.
Of course you get a ride with him.
Like, who are you gonna sign up the street to go unseat one of the greatest kickers in NFL history.
Like I know that's the reaction of media like, oh, we got to replace this guy. He keeps missing.
He's had a bad year. He's been off, but you're not going to get somebody on the street. I don't think
that's better than Justin Tucker. There has to be something going on because they talk about it.
Like, you know, mentally he's going
through it. They think it's the hip.
Well, you know, it's like a golfer.
Like it's like a golfer that's got the yips, you know, like,
the game comes back to him at some point.
And I, and I believe it'll come back to Justin Tucker too.
I just, I agree. I think there has to be something wrong.
I think there has to be pulling these kicks.
I think so. I think there's gotta be something in here. Every single his kicks. I think there's got to be something in here. Every single
one to the left and then he makes the one misses the one to the right and I
think that's because like this one goes to the right I believe I think that's
because somebody told him like hey can't miss right like no matter what you can't
miss right leave that thing as open as possible and then lo and behold he misses
it to the right which is probably so frustrating I couldn't even imagine how
frustrating he was whenever that ball goes to the right. There just has to be something whether it's, this doesn't
just happen. It becomes mental after a while does it not? Definitely but he made two kicks yesterday
so it's like. Yeah that's but like with kickers just in general you get to week 13, 14, 15 like
is everybody like kind of banged up, feel down or most guys like legs definitely happened, but like every miss
Except for that one the exact same so I don't they got the by we go
I'm just wanted to text Jordan Stout and be like can we give the fucking guy just some lean just some way and then he
Misses they're right
Anything all right, let's look to tonight's game
What should we be looking at Browns Broncos?
Broncos favored by six and a half very much in,
I think they currently hold the seventh seed in the AFC.
So they would be in the playoffs in Bo Nix's rookie year.
What should we be thinking about?
Well, they do and they're in a great spot
and Denver's got to buy next week.
So if Denver can figure out a way to win tonight
and go to eight and five, they're sitting figure out a way to win tonight and go to 8 and 5 they're
sitting there with a two game win lead over the Colts who they play coming out of the
buy which would be a big win and what's amazing to me about the Broncos and what they're doing
this year is they've got over 80 million dollars in dead cap money this year which is the highest number of any
team in the league Russell Wilson counts 53 million against their cap Tim Patrick
is six point one against their cap Randy Gregory four point six Justin Simmons
three point eight Frank Clark three point two and they are still finding a
way to win and what that's all about, secret here, really surprising, coaching and quarterbacking.
They have the coach who understands how, what needs to be done.
And he drafted the quarterback that he believes in, who not only can he play, but because
he's on a rookie quarterback contract, helps bail them out of the mess that they
got into in the Russell Wilson contract.
And by the way, the Browns can take notes tonight when they look at the Broncos and
see how they look at it, how they did it, because they're about to look at their own
situation with Deshaun Watson having a cap number next year of like $79 million, the
largest in the league for next season.
It's a lot. cap number next year of like 79 million dollars the largest in the league for next season.
Man. It's a lot. Bronze fans, dog pun. They're fresh off a big win though. Yeah they are. Remember they had a big one. Yep. They had a lot of fun. In the snow. They enjoyed the hell out of that.
Now. Hey but the other thing about tonight also that I find interesting like we haven't spent a
lot of time on the Broncos and and when I watch this team right now aside from Sean Payton doing
a great job and Bo Nicks doing a great job how about this just over a year ago this very same
defense gave up 73 points in a game to the Dolphins and just over a year later they've turned into one
of the best defenses in the NFL like that that's a credit to the defensive coordinator Vance Joseph
who by the way at that time everybody's fire Vance Joseph. Rex Ryan
is gonna be there we were even we were even hearing those rumors but instead
Sean Payton was the belle of the ball that coaching cycle for a reason we
can't wait to watch they're now favored by six not six and a half if Schefter
was to get into a competition at his gig he'd be favored by a thousand we
appreciate you ladies and gentlemen and
Amazing we are days past Thanksgiving we hope you had a great one
We hope you had a great one. Yeah.
Oh yeah.
Have a good time Stephen.
God it was so good.
Delicious.
I had some delicious turkey.
Even had some of the white meat.
Wow.
Because my wife had it so tender.
There you go.
And flavored.
It was wonderful.
Obviously stuffing took up a majority.
Sure.
Of the plate.
Handsome sweet potato pie that was certainly phenomenal.
Ham obviously down there doing its job.
Little cornbread obviously for the delightful taste.
And then a little tiny dab of mashed potatoes with gravy.
Now I will say this is my first time ever trying
my wife's mashed potatoes.
Just like it was my first time ever trying
my wife's white turkey meat.
Sure. I like the white turkey meat sure sure I
Like the white turkey meat a lot more than I like the mashed potatoes sure but I will say the mashed potatoes
Didn't taste like asshole. Okay. I actually enjoyed the one two scoops that I put on there and as soon as it cleared the way
more stuffing More meat, more Hawaiian rolls.
And then I had this bite of apple pie.
Oh, it was to die for.
And then there was a little pumpkin pie sitting there
and I said, you know what, have to.
So I want fork into pie.
Good move.
Without even being cut.
Sure, good move.
Asshole move.
Complete, my house.
That's right, my room.
I feel bad about this, I did it.
That's planting your flag, brother.
You're right, I did, it was delightful.
But I would if I was playing flag,
we're going back to the apple pie.
But we hope everybody had a fantastic Thanksgiving.
We can't thank the world enough
for allowing us to do this for a living.
I get a chance to hang out with some of the coolest dudes
on earth, the talk today was here,
at Boston Connor, at Ty Schmidt.
Comment how the Patriots do. Yes
Score more points in the Buckeyes oh not a bad way to look at that that was certainly a snooze fest over there
in Columbus wasn't it
one team doesn't even have a quarterback
wow didn't have to flee
which one?
oh
one after the hammer
Cowboys AP.
Tony's here, nine year NFL vet.
Terrence J. Butler is here and joining us live from
Anadkin, Ohio.
This is a man who I can't wait to kind of test the
temperature of.
He went to school at the Ohio State University.
He was an All-American for the Ohio State University.
He was a national champion, boy, those days feel like so long ago,
for the Ohio State University.
And then he would represent the Ohio State University of the Green Bay Packers
where he'd become the all-time leading tackler for one of the oldest franchises in the history of sports.
Ladies and gentlemen, the face of Ohio, AJ Hawk.
21-23 point favorites in Columbus. Oh my god. What happened AJ? Are you guys okay?
I got a chance to chat with Rich on Sunday NFL game day morning. He had his
Michigan shoes on yeah
oh he said with the way the years go and obviously not what we wanted as reigning
national champions but you go in a horseshoe as three four score underdogs
and get a massive win obviously you can jot that down as a massive massive
success and he said he's gonna carry that happiness all the way through
holiday season and then Adam Sheffield comes on first thing He goes is oh, where's my flag to come plant?
Right in the ground Ohio AJ
Ohio State loses in the game
Another year four years straight now Wow, and I didn't think this one was gonna be possible. I thought Ohio State by 50
Yeah, I thought Ohio State by 50 because everything you were there. What was it like kind of watching this whole
thing kind of unravel incredibly slowly and monotonously? I was there. It was well the
first drive Ohio State had, they looked unbelievable. They surgically went down the field and they
weren't able to punch it in for a touchdown, which sometimes that is tough when you can go
and move the ball like that. But they couldn't move the ball very much
After that first drive, I feel like consistently at least and yeah, absolutely
Disappoint especially after this gigantic play by Jack Sawyer. You thought okay. Here we go. Now we're now we go and
You know Michigan's defense steps up and get some big stops. It's yeah, incredibly disappointing loss. No question for everybody
Okay. So now let's chit chat about the future here. Ohio State will not be in the Big Ten Championship game.
Instead a team that they beat at their place,
Penn State will be taking on Oregon,
another team that beat Ohio State.
So if you just look at the college football playoff,
you would assume Oregon has been the number one team
in the country since the middle of the season.
No matter what happens in the Big Ten Championship,
they're gonna go. Penn State happens in the Big Ten Championship, they're going to go.
Penn State is in the Big Ten Championship.
And the Big Ten, obviously one of the top two conferences in all of football.
They made the championship, they're going to make it in.
Indiana's only got one loss.
Yeah.
No, they're going.
They're going to go, right?
66-0.
I was going to say last win, 66-0.
Yeah.
Handle business.
Yeah.
Rivalry game. That's the the question i don't know if they
were 23 point favorites either so i don't think so when we talk about expectations and everything
like wait was it 29 29 yeah it was actually more it was more than 23 yeah it was 29 but they covered
they covered that time and then ohio state sitting there two losses haven't beat losses, haven't beat Penn State, haven't beat Indiana. And now we're just assuming
that four Big Ten schools are going to get in. And Ohio State is the fourth school now that's going
to get in. It is insane to think about the implications of literally every single game,
especially the game this year. Because I just assumed Ohio State's on a fast track into the
playoffs. Possible one seed. Got some big, maybe, got some big wins, obviously.
A close one to Oregon.
Close one to Oregon in Oregon, had travel over there.
Now you lose to Michigan, it's like,
is Ohio State on the outside looking in?
And our two teams that they beat in, and they are,
what are you guys thinking over there?
Is the whole place on fire
because of the loss of Michigan or what?
I think everybody's a bit confused because we're thinking, all right, yeah, this is crushing
defeat that you didn't expect to happen.
You didn't think was going to happen.
But then it all could still be out in front of you where you have a chance to win the
national championship.
So it's kind of a weird situation, I think, here.
I would hope, I don't know.
I mean, I know myself, I feel like Ohio State's going to get in.
Okay, okay.
Me too.
I would like to let you know, I am on the side that Ohio State is getting into the college football playoff
Okay, we'd like that to be noted. So for sake of argument, let's just say two teams from the ACC
Kind of make it in there and if they start doing that or maybe a team from big 12
There's no chance it's going to happen.
But let's just say, for the sake of art,
now all of a sudden, it was going to be four and four.
If it's two and one, then it's what?
Four and three?
And these ones?
And then the SEC now has three.
Big 10 has four.
Well, what if it's three and it's four?
And then what? Oh my God.
In the head of this entire thing is who?
Michigan Athletic Director?
Oh no.
Oh no.
I saw, I saw that Ohio State.
Did you see them?
They couldn't move the ball.
And then they fought after the game.
Come on.
Bush League.
That's not what we want to represent.
And I'm not saying he would do that.
Obviously they're all non-biased and they're very lucky to be in there.
And these are humans making these decisions.
It's like, I believe Ohio State's going to make college football playoff.
I would like that to be stated.
I think there's going to be four.
I think there's going to be three.
I think there's going to be two.
I think there's going to be one.
And then I think there's going to be a group of five.
Obviously has to be.
And there's going to be four champions.
That's how I see it unfolding.
But boy, the people that live in the warmer states are not going to be.
That is going to be a big deal.
I think it's going to be a big deal.
I think it's going to be a big deal. I think it's going to be a big deal. I think it's going to be a big deal. I think it's going to be a big deal. I think it's going be a group of five obviously has to be and there's gonna be four champions That's how I see it unfolding but boy the people that live in the warmer states are not gonna be
That is gonna be so loud down there
But whenever you think about the implications of every game like people thought we're gonna lose
Importance to regular season games kids 12 team playoffs. It's like no, I think complete opposite
Yeah, it's like every game matters much much more now, especially with the chaos that happened,
not only this weekend, but like last weekend as well.
There's been full chaos in college ball.
I agree with you.
I think it's gonna be four Big 10, three SEC, two ACC,
one Big 12, one Notre Dame, and then, you know,
UNLV or Boise State most likely.
There's no way they put a three loss SEC
in over a high of state.
The world would explode. The world would burn down. I agree. Hey listen
completely agree. The conversation I guess would be and we also. No way? No way. So
you're putting Notre Dame in, a second ACC team and fourth Big Ten team over
three loss SEC team in which there are a few. I think there's a chance that if
SMU wins there's a there's a chance that a three loss SEC goes in which there are a few. I think there's a chance that if SMU wins,
um, there's a, there's a chance that a three loss SEC goes in over Miami.
I could see that happening, but I think if Clemson beats SMU, Clemson and SMU are both in
because they're not going to penalize a one loss SMU team for losing in the championship game,
are they? Cause they're putting, they don't want people to,
I remember war. we'll watch the game
We will see how the game unfolds but my biggest thing for any of this is they're never gonna get it right No matter what never gonna you can't because any team can beat any team seemingly right? Oh, yes legitimately
It's like every time one of these college games kick off
You have no idea what the bout what's about to fucking happen.
Legitimately, you have no idea.
Granted, there's teams that are favored.
There are teams that have more five stars,
but for whatever reason in college football,
18 year olds, even 17 year olds now I guess,
17 year olds to 22 year olds,
anything can happen on any given field.
So how are you gonna get it right every single time?
This team's won, but who have they played?
It's like, yeah, but they showed up and win.
It's like, is it their fault
that they haven't got to play anybody?
What do you want to, well,
what about this team that played,
they laid an egg against Vandy.
You remember Vandy?
How do you think this team would do against Vandy
if you were to do this?
Well, what about Ole Miss?
Or is it, well, what are we doing on paper
for five stars, how big people are,
or how the games actually unfold?
Because there's been so many
Games that have unfolded in a complete opposite way that we thought it would not only in the history of college ball
But this season more specifically it's been the parity feels
Better than ever. Yeah, so college ball because the transfer portal cuz the NL since we've been paying attention
Oh, well, that's what I think you said before the show and we're in the think tank Just saying like how even if you're in one of these major conferences and you go
Undefeated or you lose one game like straight the schedule almost shouldn't matter like it's it is impossible
It's seemingly impossible to go undefeated like it doesn't matter
We see teams that I mean look at like we're talking about Ohio State kind of tongue-in-cheek
But also kind of seriously like hey
They should probably beat Michigan by 50 points on Saturday.
And I know that's like a rivalry game and everything, but they just go out and lay an
egg.
We had all these teams who like, Hey, all you got to do is go out and win.
You don't even have to, you don't have to win convincingly even.
And they just lay an egg.
Like in college football, it is, it is so hard to go undefeated.
It's impossible.
Even if you're in the Big Ten
and you get the cards dealt to you
and it's like, hey, we avoided having to play Penn State
in Ohio State this year.
And some of these, like, it's still, you know,
you still have to go out
and beat Northwestern on a Saturday at 11 a.m.
Like, it's not easy to do.
And first of all, Northwestern on paper, easy to do.
Right.
But football, for whatever reason, just footballs.
It always does. And that's why we thank God every
single day that we are not a part of that community. Amen.
Good luck in there though. Good luck. Can't wait to tell you
how you're wrong. Right. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. That's
why you're in there. Get it right. Yeah. I'm not in there
for a reason. Because you're better at it than me. Ryan Day
is okay. Yeah, I think so. I mean a reason because you're better at it than me Ryan days, okay
Yeah, I think so. I mean what he's supposed to do
What can you do especially at this point if you do get in the playoff especially like there?
It's everybody's in a weird spot here. I feel like
Well, I mean he still has to keep the boys working though. That's the thing like hey guys
This is a devastating loss. I know him. I'm talking about you guys. You know, what do you mean?
You know like the fans. What do you mean?
You know who?
Like the fans, what do the fans think?
Yeah.
The Buckeyes.
The thing that makes the Buckeyes the Buckeyes.
Everything like that.
Everyone's first emotional take, I think,
is they try to, you know, fire the whole team.
What are you guys getting paid so much money
while you lose the game?
Like that whole, you know, fans are gonna be fans.
And I think eventually they calm down a couple of days later
and see what happens.
How about this happened before you guys sneak in almost beat Georgia, remember?
Michigan wins, Michigan gets in, Ohio State is second best team in Big 10 but rank higher so
they get into the semi-final. They play Georgia in Georgia, now going in Atlanta, not in Athens,
but nonetheless in Georgia. Comes down to what a 51 yard field goal is that what it was or 52 yard
field goal?
Yeah, something pretty big.
Yeah, we were right there.
And then Georgia goes on and beats TCU by 60.
By 60.
Or whatever it was.
62-7.
And it's like, that's a similar,
I assume that's how Ryan Day
and a lot of Ohio State people are framing this.
Like, hey, sucks, we lost to Michigan, we agree.
Okay, well this is not acceptable.
But with that being said, we still have a chance
to go on and do everything
we want to do. That's how Ohio people are viewing it?
Yeah, I mean, you'd have to be. It's not like, hey, hey guys, let's get all juiced up to
go play and you know, some I don't want to degrade any bowl by throwing any names out
there. I'm saying we're not just going to get ready for some December 22nd bowl game.
Like we have a chance to go win it all. So yeah.
You're talking about the Mayo bowl? Come on, Max back Slayer Gator? I don't know the names
The total toilet the pop tarpon gasparilla toilet that dude wipes
All the bull this year. I'll be sweet. Oh, it's pretty good armed forces bowl
sports troops
Poinsettia bowl the Boise Bowl not happening cuz boys he's in then the Boise famous potato there was still be the Idaho. Yeah
Boys he made a bowl game for themselves to play against people. Mm-hmm. They stole those two have do you remember that?
I don't yeah, what's it? What is it the Boise Bowl? It's a famous potato
Something bowl Idaho famous and boys he ended up in it. I think like every year
In my head, I remember them playing in it.
I think they were accepting bids,
like they couldn't went and played later,
it was like, nah, we'll play it home.
We'll get a home game right here on the blue turf.
I'm happy that's kind of disappearing.
Though I have however much money it costs,
I can create a bowl game and have to act like it matters.
You know, like I appreciate that there's more football,
I think we all do.
But whenever you're just able to smack a name on anything
and be like, this matters.
It's like, I appreciate if the guys get in their bags
and their bowl gifts and get a chance to play more football
and everything like that.
But it got a little bit out of control.
It got a little bit out of control.
Hey, you get six wins, we don't care who's it against.
You got a chance to come play in this thing. It's like, I feel like you should have to earn
a bowl. If you win eight games, nine games. Sure. Like I think like good. It's been six for a long
time though, hasn't it? Yeah. Yeah. But now they're starting to extend it too, to like five win teams
because teams that go six and six are saying no, and then they just have to go right down the line.
It's like, all right, well, that's Ru. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They they have enough six last year. They was off six and six this year that it won't happen this
Okay, so if there isn't enough six win teams, they'll sub in a five win with by GPA goes off a GPA
What's WVU playing? You know, we got a ball game. Thank you. That's I'm saying which one were they playing in the poop bowl or no
I don't think we're playing was there news in the dump bowl the tub bull ups. What can Brown do for you bowl?
Yeah, well, that's the one Brown's out of town though. Oh, excuse me
We would like to appreciate Neil Brown for serves the brana Neil Brown's good guy. This is a good guy
I think operated in a super good guy fashion
obviously a lot of class six years team seemingly got stagnant or
lesser than so in a
team seemingly got stagnant or lesser than so in a P4 program like the big 12 that gets an automatic bid seemingly into the college football playoff and
it's as wide open as it is like you got to make this move I think Ren Baker knew
he had to make this move Ren Baker decides to move on after the
ass-meeting from Texas Tech the drumming that happened on Saturday now there's a
coaching search taking place and I'll tell you it was a wild day yesterday AJ a lot of people want that job a lot of people want good
gig like for real they got you they got you working the phone well they don't
got me working the phones everybody that wants the job calling me that I've ever
met or friends with saying would love if you supported me in my bid to become
this head coach of this thing so then obviously I've also donated to the collective so I guess I deserve a what's up, what's going on.
So I've gotten a chance you know with chat with Ren Baker yesterday a little
bit. I have faith in him. I do. He got it right with the basketball team. Yeah. He
got it right with the basketball coach. They're great. He there is a lot of options though that are
trying to get this gig and those just people that I talked to yesterday. Let alone the amount of people that I don't know that are trying to get this gig And those are just the people that I talked to yesterday
Let alone the amount of people that I don't know that are trying to get that job
It's like with the way the big 12 is set up with the way it's constructed
And uh, it's gonna sound very narcissistic. But with like a west virginia presence now pretty pretty good
In the sport and sports media as a whole with how popular the brand is good logo yeah great good logo only team in the sport or in the state you know like obviously
Marshall exists shout to Marshall Thundering Herd that's good rivalry
between that but those are all Mountaineers over there that is a that is
the pro team of the state it's like there's a lot of really good opportunity
for people over there and there's a chance some real special shit takes place
if any of the you know conversation you know are you gonna
publicly endorse a candidate for the job eventually I mean maybe we'll see I
can't believe Sam and Belichick called you yesterday I saw a lot of people
tweeting after my tweet like coach shavings coming back to save coming home
coming home I think coach shavin's having a good time.
I think Coach Shavin is enjoying college game day.
I don't think he's getting back into coaching.
I have asked him a thousand times if he's coming to coach West Virginia.
He said no, but I do believe he is interested in helping West Virginia, which is, I think,
very good news in this entire conversation.
But the people, and Coach Belichick also joining us now
Ladies and gentlemen, the greatest coach of all time the greatest NFL general manager of all time. Let's hear it from him coach Belichick
Coach, uh, there's an opening at west virginia. Are you applying to be the head coach of the west virginia university of mountaineers?
I might talk to you about that pat
I might talk to you about that, Pat. Oh, okay.
Wasn't a no.
Oh, wow.
Put it on the ticker.
Put it on the ticker.
We would need it.
Okay.
We're going to put that on.
We're going to let that run.
We don't even need a follow up.
How was the holiday weekend?
Hope you're great.
This one football really matters, right?
This is the time when I think, yeah, go ahead.
Yeah, that's right.
Yeah.
You get now you got all the conference championship games.
You got the, you know, playoffs are really starting to shape up couple teams have clinched couple teams are eliminated
So, you know with each week that goes by we'll just get a little bit closer on that
Let's talk about the Buffalo Bills clinching the AFC East with five games
Remaining what have you seen from this Buffalo Bills team and Josh Allen maybe that hasn't happened in the past? Is there any
Uh differences in your eyes on this team versus maybe a Bills team in the past that wasn't able to kind of get over the hump and win
Yeah, they look really good. You know, Josh has done a great job of taking care of the ball
um
You know, obviously he's a tough guy to stop but you know, he hasn't turned it over much all year
It's just uh really been a couple of drop balls and stuff like that.
The plays that really I wouldn't even put on him.
They're playing good defense.
They're playing good, they're running the ball well.
It's the best the running game has looked in a while.
So I think that they're a really solid team.
They're good on special teams and they're just not making many mistakes. They're playing really solid team. They're good on special teams and, and, uh, they're just not making many mistakes.
They're playing air free football.
So, uh, I think the big challenge for them is over the next five weeks is not to
regress in that area to keep, keep pressing forward, uh, which is the easiest
thing to do when you've got a, you know, you've already clinched and, and you're,
you know, barely into December, but, um, you know, I give them a chance to get
everybody healthy, but they just need to be playing their best football
Hey, whenever you guys went through your
dynasty for 20 years 20 plus years
You had to have different iterations of your team, you know, cuz salary cap and everything like that
Brandon Bean McDermott, what are your thoughts on how they've had to reinvent this team for this year and how it's really come together
Yeah, again, they've done a great job
I think they've done a good job all the way through but you know, especially this year that how it's really come together. Yeah, again, they've done a great job.
I think they've done a good job all the way through,
but, you know, especially this year that, you know,
moving on from digs and kind of rebuilding
the receiver position, but they're very strong at tight end.
So they're, you know, when they're healthy,
they're playing a lot of 12 personnel,
which I think has also helped the running game.
They look like a very well balanced team,
especially one that can play in Buffalo, playing bad weather, which if they, you, which if they keep winning, they're going to be doing plenty of, they
might even have a shot at the home field for the playoffs.
So having a team that can play in those conditions with 12 personnel, a good running game, obviously
a good quarterback and the defense that can play the run, not just rush the passer and tackle well. You know, that's a big, that's a good formula.
Yeah, they're 10 and two, chiefs are 11 and one. The chiefs lead the league with nine,
one score game wins. I think the Vikings are in second with seven or whatever. The Buffalo
Bill is eye test. Just looks awesome. It looks like they're playing dominant football and the
Niners just vastly different than what they've been in the past and losing Christian McCaffrey
with a PCL for the next few weeks or maybe even season and for him not to be there, that stinks.
But shout out to the Bills! Shout out to the Bills over there in the AFC East. Go ahead, AJ.
Coach, I wanted to pivot to Trevor Lawrence. Obviously he took a scary hit as he was sliding at the sticks, right?
The first down marker yesterday.
I guess when these quarterbacks are running in place, what can you,
like they're in space, what can you teach your defenders to?
Like I get, he can't make that hit.
Like you can't go forearm to his chin, but also it's at the sticks.
He's sliding late.
Like what can you tell your defenders for situations like this?
Yeah, that's a tough one.
I think I put that one right back on you, AJ.
You've been in that situation way more than I have.
He's running for first down.
You're coming up there to tackle him and he slides late.
What would you tell him to do?
I mean, I would tell him to hit him in the face with a forearm, but it's almost impossible
to avoid contacting him in the head.
My question is, what if he decides, there's a clip of Patrick Mahomes I've seen that
goes around where he's Patrick, one guy decided he comes up he thinks Patrick
sliding and he kind of just glides right by him and continues.
That does happen.
But I guess all you can tell him coach is what you got to fly and
submarine over top of him and try not to make contact at that moment.
Yeah, that's right.
I think throwing the form in there is, that's not the right thing to do.
But to show that you're trying to avoid
contacting him in the head, it's hard not to hit him in the head here.
There's nothing else to hit his whole body's on the ground, but, um, the
forcible contact with the form that's, you know, that that's not, that's not
called for, I think you got to show, uh, you know, an effort to avoid that
contact as much as you can.
I don't know if you could avoid it completely, but you should try.
Yeah.
Intent I think is a big deal.
And that's why with the brace in the optics of what it looked like, plus
with what type of player he is, he is a lives on the line.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He is a, that type of player.
He's come out and apologize to Trevor for what happened.
He even said like, just like I said before the game, it was great that you're back
healthy, I still feel that same way.
And then he also said a lot of the things
that have been said since then, okay,
we need to dial it down a little bit.
But nonetheless, no player wants that to happen
to any other players, especially as we get
into the most important time of football.
And with the way Houston's going, the way Jacksonville's going,
can't be losing their captain on defensive side of the ball.
Go ahead, D-Bunch. You can't be losing their captain on defensive side of the ball good D
But you can't it should happen so so fast
But speaking of captains and great players Justin Tucker up there in the Ravens, you know all-time great kicker
Obviously, we talked about him on the show with you a few times. He's struggling right now
You know kind of putting the team at risk of losing major games down the stretch
How would you handle this situation as a head coach? Obviously is not a bunch of guys on the street
We just throw in there and trust them But how would you handle this situation as a head coach? Obviously it's not a bunch of guys on the street who you just throw in there and trust them,
but how would you handle this situation
in particular up in Baltimore?
Probably about the way that Coach Harbaugh
is handling it.
You know, when I look at Tucker,
I don't see a lack of talent.
He still has great height on the ball.
The ball, you know, travels with plenty of distance.
Clearly there's some fundamental technique thing that he's not doing consistently.
And that's caused him to miss both to the left and to the right.
So I think what I would do is keep working on the fundamentals and
just the technique of the kick.
I don't think there's a lack of talent.
I think it's fundamentally there's just something that's not quite right here. And I know I'm sure that Justin and Coach Harbaugh and the whole
operation, the holder, the snapper, are all trying to get this down. I think he's definitely capable
of doing it. But like you said, there's nobody else out there that has more experience or
has mentally been in more situations than Tucker Tucker has I think I would go with Tucker
Coach you said it there missing both ways every one of his missus up until yesterday was left like the same
Same thing and I don't like to like drop my thoughts into people's life and be like I know more than you
This is what I should do, especially in this world
because there's so much going on
and every kicker is different, every operation is different.
But I wanted to text Jordan Stott, the punter and be like,
Hey, can we just lean the ball a little bit
so that he can maybe straighten that thing out
as opposed to the draw, you know,
let's lean it a little bit, fight the draw.
And then he misses one to the right.
And I'm like, all right, now, now I don't know, you know,
like there is, there's real cause for concerning
in panic, I think, whenever you're missing both ways, Coach.
Yeah, well, and to your point, Pat,
just a little bit of lean one way or the other
can definitely affect the flight of the ball.
One thing about Tucker's balls, in my experience has been,
his balls always went perfectly straight.
They didn't hook through, they didn't have any draw on them balls always went perfectly straight. They didn't hook through.
They didn't have any draw on them.
They were just straight.
And when I see his balls start to move a little bit now, that tells me that there's something
different than what it was.
I don't know exactly what that is.
Maybe it's a lean to the ball.
Maybe it's his technique.
Maybe it's, you know, I'm not sure exactly, but, um, it seems like that's correctable.
Just got to figure out what it is.
I think so too.
The only thing I'm worried about is maybe he has a little, you know, cause maybe something, but it, but that has not been announced.
So we can't obviously assume anything, but come on, talk.
Come on, baby.
Come on.
There's no doubt, Pat, if there's an injury involved and there's a compensation
for that, that could definitely, you know, change the, you know, the mechanics of the kick. And,
and then you're trying to compensate, you overcompensate and so forth. And
that's something right that none of us are, are have privy knowledge to.
And you got to remember if you're off by that much, I mean, that's a miss, you know, that's why,
that's why Tyler from Dude Perfect. Unbelievable. And making that kid. I don't know if you saw him, coach. Tyler from Dude Perfect, standing out. Unbelievable. And making that, I don't know if you saw him coach,
Tyler from Dude Perfect, who they are calling,
the greatest athlete of our generation,
steps up and nails this, I mean it was,
I don't want to hear another slanderous thing
about Dude Perfect taking, how many takes,
how many takes, who cares?
He buried this thing.
It was a bomb.
It was a wonderful, Bill, it was awesome coach.
Yeah. I don't know if he has any eligibility left or if he's on APEDs.
Yeah. He's got a good beard. He's very jacked. He took his shirt off at the end. He was very jacked.
We don't know if he could pass a test. We don't know. But we do know he is a
absolute stud. All right, let's keep moving forward shall we? Con man has a question for you, coach.
Yeah, coach, obviously big story from Thanksgiving
was the end of the game with the Bears and the Lions.
How often are you guys practicing
when you were in the league with those types of situations
at the end of the game?
And what did you think about that whole entire thing?
Well, first of all, can I compliment you on that jacket?
Thank you very much. Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.
Skull and bones, baby.
Let's go.
What about the hat?
Skull and bones.
Yeah.
Pat, that's what I wore last year.
I wore the skull and bones at the Jolly Roger.
We're coming back to that.
Put that helmet on.
Yeah, I remember.
It was awesome.
Yeah.
On the side there.
One more time, Conor.
I got the...
Oh, I want you to ask if he had a name because it's all jacked up. Um, uh, what's your time counter?
I guess me fired up too, but the even flu situation doesn't call time out.
30 seconds left to get that.
Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. I love it. When you're asking that question, he sees your mouth moving, but he's just like, damn, that's so cool.
Now, oh shit, you asked me.
Oh yeah, well yeah, that's right.
I forgot.
I'm sorry.
That's awesome.
That's love.
Hell yeah.
That's love.
That situation though, you're known as the greatest
situational coach of all time.
Patrice made a mistake in any of these type
of crucial situations.
It was like front page of the news, worthy,
always got to write.
How often do you work?
Right, if you let this play run,
if you just let this play run, it looked to me like, it looked
to me like there was a play called and we're signaling the play here.
And then, still waiting.
This clock is still ticking.
And then we're changing the play like we change. We put a signal out there to the top
to probably change the route.
And then, you know,
so,
uh,
you know, look, unless you're actually there on the headset,
I'm not sure if we know exactly what happened. What I would say is
for me, I always felt like there were three people that were critical to the operation, the head coach, the play caller,
others, offensive defense, and the signal caller on the field. Well, that was the defensive signal caller, the quarterback. And I think those are the people that all need to be on the same page.
And whenever they're not, then that's potential for a problem. So you want to make sure that the communication, if the coordinator is making the call, that you're in sync with the
coordinator as a head coach.
Uh, or if the head coach is making the call that you're in sync with the
quarterback and so that you're both thinking the same thing in whatever
the situation is, whether you're going to try to draw them all aside, whether
you're going to call a timeout, whether you're going to, you know, and it
really, it was a similar situation in the Raider game, uh, where, you know, that was a mix up and the ball got snapped
and so forth.
Um, but it's just so important for, uh, the quarterback and the head coach, but there's
usually that third person in there, uh, the offensive or defensive coordinator.
And it could be a fourth person.
If you have somebody in the press box is kind of advised you situations and, you know, clock management and things like that, you just have to make sure that
everybody's in sync and on the same page on that.
When they're not, then these are the kind of things that can happen.
One of those conversations happening though, during the week, before the drive, before
the series, before the play, when are the, when's that all happening?
Well yeah, they're all done ahead of time, but each situation is a little bit different
and especially when the clock's running, you know, you're all done ahead of time, but each situation is a little bit different, especially when the clock's running.
You have to calculate what the time is when the ball's snapped, not what it is when you
look up.
I mean, of course that's important, but for example, Pat, if you're going to run the no
huddle field goal, if you're going to run a no huddle, and then of course getting sacked
here to kind of take them out of field goal range is another part of the problem.
Uh, and that changes the situation for the play caller.
But you know, Pat, you know, if there's call it 18, 19 seconds ago on the clock,
you know, you run a play, you clock it, you kick the field goal.
But when the clock's running, okay.
And you've got 40 seconds to go and you run a play and you get tackled and everybody's and now the clock's running
What how much time is on the clock? Is it 18? Is it 19? Is it 16? Do you have enough time?
Do you not have enough time and that's where it gets a little bit tricky like this one did
So you can prepare all you want for that, but the decision has to be made at that point in time
Are we gonna take a timeout? We're to run a play and then take a time out?
You know, what are we going to do?
Allegedly, you came out and said that the ball is supposed to be snapped at 18
seconds was the expectation.
And obviously it ran way past that.
Yeah, but even if that, and if that was the case, that they snapped it at 18,
got the ball in the field goal range, hit a five or seven yard pass, got the ball
in the field goal range.
Okay.
And then take a timeout, then kick it on fourth down. That makes sense, but they just didn't
execute that at all. So whose responsibility was it to do what? I mean, I'm not sure.
Even after he got sacked and he calls the play, whatever it was, it looked like he was calling
the receivers back to the line of scrimmage. I don't know if those guys knew. If you show it again, before he does the entire signal
to the wide receivers, it looks like he's calling them back to the O-line.
They're not calling a timeout.
Yeah. I don't know if they didn't know. Right here, it looks like he's signaling to everyone
that's downfield like, hey, get back here. We're running another play. I don't know if
the entire team knew that.
Okay. So let's just obviously assume that they're not on the same page,
all of them, whether it's four people, three people, whoever knows in the communication.
Let's dive back into why your teams were always so good at it.
And everybody chatted that you stress more and focus more on it.
Did you want everybody on the team to understand how you should operate
in all these situations?
Is that happening in training camp, OTAs, during the week?
When are you doing your breakdown of situational awareness
for these massive moments?
Right, so I always felt like this was a cumulative effect.
You put the situation in in training camp,
you work on it that day,
and kind of go through the mechanics of it
and kind of take it slow.
But then after that, you stick the situation
in periodically through training camp
and through your regular season,
so that when it pops up, you revert back to the foundation
that you put in in training camp.
So it starts in training camp,
but it works all the way through the season.
And each time it comes up,
the timing's a little bit different.
It can be 30 seconds, it'd be 25 seconds, 27 seconds, whatever it is, with each of those
situations.
And there's multiple, obviously, that could come up.
There's probably in a neighborhood of 50 different ones that you have to deal with in one way
or another.
And one or two seconds difference on the clock makes a lot of difference.
And so what we tried to do was have one word that described the situation. So if we wanted to get out of bounds, we had a word, for example,
bingo, that just told everybody you have to get out of bounds instead of like
yelling, hey get out of bounds, hey get out of bounds, hey you know, bingo, that's it.
One word told everybody what they needed to do. And so as many of those words as we could use, you know, giraffe,
seahawk, church, slider, so forth, just those words all they all identified a
situation which then built in what should happen in that situation. I always
felt as important for me as the head coach to be on the same page with the
quarterback and so Tom and I spent a lot of time talking about
those situations or watching film of other situations
similar that would come up and say,
okay, if here's what this team did, we would do that.
Or here's what this team did, I wouldn't handle it that way.
I would do this and then that.
And you know, one of the tough situations
is when you have one timeout,
do you wanna take the timeout early and leave more time on the clock, or do you want to save the timeout so you
don't have to scramble on a no huddle field goal or something like that and substitute
at the end?
It's just a fundamental.
You have one timeout.
You can take it early or take it late either way, but you just want to be on the same page.
You don't want the quarterback to be thinking, oh, I thought you were going to take a timeout,
and you're thinking, well, I'm going to save it.
And so I always felt it was important for Tom and I to be on the same page on that.
And then if there was a timeout, sometimes we'd be able to talk about it.
But if there wasn't a timeout, we had discussed it enough in, in multiple other meetings and
practice review that it, it was kind of second nature.
Yeah.
We all are seeing the same thing.
We're all seeing this the same exact way.
It felt like the wide receivers potentially had one idea.
Caleb obviously had two ideas.
Tom Bryan's calling it in, had an idea.
And then Iber Fluce, I didn't see him talk one time.
I don't know if he had any ideas.
I don't know if he had any ideas.
Yeah.
It's tough for that, for it to run out, that time out.
But I know as a young player, you know, playing for Bill,
it was almost a level of anxiety, you know,
going into practice because something, most other teams that I played for,
most things were scripted.
You know which periods was coming, you knew when it was coming.
But at any moment in practice, it could be a special team situation or
a red area situation or a two minute situation that the players or
the coaches wasn't necessarily prepared for.
And then you just go over and practice.
So when it happens in a game, you're kind of more aware of those situations.
And we met more as a team
I feel like in New England than other teams like in other places only one or two days
We met as a full unit in New England
I felt like every day even game day we met as a team before you know going into it
So I think that all those things like you said being cumulative like it leads up to these type of moments
I love the idea of
Instead of everybody having to understand every situation. We're just gonna tell you exactly what you need to do here. Yeah, bingo
Okay, you don't even know why you just need to know get your ass exactly. I love that like that is easy communication and understanding
That reaches everybody that's you need to know though that everybody that leaves your building comes other buildings goes
What bill does with situational shit is the way to do it.
You need to know that.
And obviously those are the ones that win and lose your games.
That's literally what wins and loses games.
Well, and I think the D-Buts point,
one thing I always try to stress was,
as he said, the team meetings.
So when he's sitting in there as a defensive player,
he's hearing what we're telling the offense.
Here's what you want to do in this situation.
And so defensively, you're already being taught, here's what the offense is trying to do, whatever
the situation is, seven seconds, nine seconds, you know, get in a field goal range.
Here's what they're thinking is.
And then when we flip that around and say, all right, defensively, here's what our options
are, we're going to do one of these two things.
Well, then the offensive players sit there and, okay, is it a or it's not a, then it's
probably B and they understand, okay, here's what's going on on the defensive side of the
ball.
I always thought that was super helpful for the players to understand not just what are
we trying to do, but to really be inside the offensive coordinator
or play callers ahead of here's what they're trying to do.
Because if you see, there aren't very many situations
at the end of the game that are exactly the same.
But when you see enough of them over a couple of year period
of the head coach or the coordinator or the quarterback,
whoever's doing it, there's usually a pattern
to what they're trying to do.
And you can anticipate maybe not exactly
what the play's gonna be,
but what the concept's gonna be.
Yeah, I think it worked.
You said, I always thought that this would work.
It did.
Oh yeah.
Yeah, it did, it did.
And seems like it always will.
Now, who benefited from this the most?
Oh, the Detroit Lions.
They only have one loss on the season 11 and 1 right now
They're in a tough nfc north, but they're going through it tone has a question for you coach
Yeah, coach obviously you had roles as the dc gm and has head coached
So I wanted to ask you about this because brad holmes mc dc and aaron glenn have a situation on the defensive side of the ball
Where they are just
Taking injury after injury after injury
Here is where they started the season and the Red Lions are obviously guys that have gotten
hurt and are out for the season as those roles like as Aaron Glenn is he doing
stuff defensively schematically differently now because guys are out.
What is Brad Holmes doing? What's what's coach Dan Campbell doing for the team?
What's the situation here when you've got a great team that it just banged up on
the defense side of the ball?
Right, well, I think that the Lions, again, whether that's Coach Campbell or Brad Holmes
or whoever it is,
have certainly tried to address the pass for a situation.
And I think that needs to be addressed.
They don't get very much pressure on the quarterback.
A lot of the sacks that they do get
are because the quarterback holds the ball
for an extended period of time. And they've gotten a lot of sacks in the fourth quarter that they do get are because the quarterback holds the ball for an extended period of time.
And they've gotten a lot of sacks in the fourth quarter when they've been ahead, you know,
in obvious passing situations.
In spite of the fact that they're statistically a very good third down team, I think that
that's, you know, going to be an issue for them against the better teams that they play,
like it was in the first half of the Houston game where they were down by, you know, whatever
it was, two touchdowns just at halftime.
So I think those are the issues that they're looking at defensively.
Pass rush and how much man to man coverage they can actually play.
I think Branch is out a fantastic year.
He's been responsible, it looks to me like for
the majority of their pass breakups, interceptions,
he's even caused some interceptions by taking away or caused sacks by taking away
a route and forcing the quarterback to hold the ball.
I think he's had really a great year for him.
I think the rest of the secondary and the rest of the pass rush can certainly be
improved and I think they're trying to do it.
And so that's what they should do is try to either schematically or maybe with an acquisition of a player try to get more of an edge rush to work
with McNeil inside or use some linebacker pressures to try to beef up the pass rush.
They really haven't rushed the passer very effectively. I think the numbers are a little
misleading because of the amount of time that the quarterbacks have held the ball. And I would say They really haven't rushed the passer very effectively. I think when the numbers are a little misleading
because of the amount of time that the quarterbacks
have held the ball.
And I would say the quarterbacks have missed a lot
of open receivers that had they seen them or hit them,
you know, it would have been,
you know, it would have been interesting to see
how some of those had gone. Feels like you think it going to be tough to finish this thing out for the Detroit
Lions. Well, I think they, I don't say it's going to be tough. I think they, I think they need to do
better than they've been doing. I think they've gotten away with some things and it looks good
now. I just don't know if it's going to last against really good passing teams or quarterbacks
that can extend plays a little bit.
I mean, like I said, they got into a lot of trouble against Houston and I know they ended
up winning that game, but still it wasn't all about the interceptions.
It was about defensively some of the things that they gave up.
I just worry when they get against a good offensive team, if love has a good day,
if Darnold has a good day, which I didn't think really either one of them did.
Um, you know, what, what that would look like.
Lions Packers Thursday night.
Now they can outscore people and look, if they have to win 42 41, they're
probably capable of doing that.
Um, but I think to really be a good well-balanced team be a championship team you know there they
want to be better on defense you always see those Super Bowls just big-time
shootouts you know these are Lions fans obviously they're pumped to be back but
every entry that takes place it's like a man and the, it was very, very noticeable in the second half.
Caleb Williams was a different quarterback in that second half when guys
started just dropping.
And there's been a couple games now the Lions have dominated.
Then there's been a couple games has been close.
Yeah, they got the Packers on Thursday night.
We shall see.
NFC North football is heating up.
Go ahead, AJ.
Coach team playing well, obviously, the Pittsburgh Steelers,
their offense has just exploded. Russell Wilson playing very well. I guess what do you think
their chances are of going on a deep run in the playoffs this year?
Well, you know, it was surprising to me that Cincinnati was able to put up as many points
as they did against them. And it was equally surprising that Pittsburgh scored as many as they
did. But again, that's a credit to Pittsburgh and, and, uh, coach Smith and Russell Wilson.
I mean, look, you can't underestimate this guy and, and they are very resourceful team.
They find ways to, you know, to win the block kicks, to make goal line stops, to score.
Um, you know, you just can't, you just can't count them out.
But, um, yeah, you know, look, I think Arthur Smith's done a great job of protecting the ball and
still being able to find productive plays offensively on the perimeter.
And then with Freymouth inside with Najee running the ball and
really they haven't turned the ball over much.
I know they had to pick six against Cincinnati, but you know, they've done a good job
of not turning the ball over.
And generally with that defense,
if you don't turn the ball over, you know,
you probably 20 points is probably enough to win most weeks.
So I think if they can stay with that formula,
they're going to be tough to beat.
They've got a good field goal kicker to win close games.
You know, it's a lot to like there.
Nod said he had too much of the banana thing
from Pat Fryerman's girlfriend on Thanksgiving.
So it sounds like they like each other too.
You know, that's what I heard from that.
I heard that Nod and Fryermuth and the boys were doing Thanksgiving.
Now did he get a little winded?
Maybe too much of the sweets afterwards.
That's going to happen at Thanksgiving.
They're dialed in.
Muth just wants to celebrate football with these Bangles fans.
Nobody's home.
I like this Steelers home. I like the
Steelers team. I like their Moxie, you know, and we talk about that a lot. I feel like you can tell
how much a team actually believes whether or not they're a team by their Moxie and their confidence.
Feels like the Steelers are very confident. George Pickens is an absolute weapon on the football
field. Now that being said, it is a double-edged sword with George Pickens You know there is a there's an opportunity for a 15 yarder sure and there's an opportunity for a 90 yard touchdown
Seemingly every single play. I feel like a lot of greats are seeming he needs to get that going and if they do
Why not the Pittsburgh's? They feel that way last question here from Ty for you coach
Yeah, coach a lot was made leading up into that Thursday night
Thanksgiving game about the Dolphins not being able to win in
the cold and specifically to his record and I think a lot of it may be
overblown but then you look at the stats and it's pretty evident that something
is going on there. Obviously over a long time people said hey you know coach
Belichick has a weather machine he can control it up there in Foxboro but is
there is there anything specifically especially now that the weather is about to change that
you would look at on film or somewhere else and be like okay like this team
really can't compete with us in the cold or in the conditions yeah well as we all
know there's no way to control the weather. So, um, and, and, you know, the weather reports are pretty unpredictable too.
I mean, you look at a Buffalo was a great example.
I've been down that road before too, where you're at the airport and you're at the hotel
and it's windy and cold.
And then you get to the state, the, the, uh, the stadium and there the stadium and there's four inches of snow on the
ground. We had that one time in reverse where there was no snow at the stadium and I was told
after the game, we're going to have a hard time getting out of here because of the snow at the
airport. You just have to be ready for anything, but my philosophy was always to practice outside
in the elements and whatever they are, they are.
And sooner or later, you'll get snow, rain, hot days, dealing with the sun, winds, cross
winds, winds of blowdown, whatever it is.
So you just take it as it comes and hope that that practice experience pays off in the games. But, you know, there are certain things that I think you want to definitely emphasize and talk about in practice when that comes up.
Things about the wind, things about the, you know, whether it be the sun, the, you know, handling the ball in the sun, or cold, or snow, or wet, or whatever it is,
and re-emphasize those fundamentals when they happen in practice.
They do not know deep, but we'll tell you like we didn't go inside.
We were outside all the time, whatever it was, uh, put your stuff on and be ready to go.
But if I get some shoes that work, we're going to play in it.
We got to practice with it. All that type of shot.
I know as a DB as, as it got colder, more and more quarterbacks, you know,
tried to stay away from those deep outside throws,
those outside breaking throws.
So as a defender, as a DB, especially down the field now, Josh Allen is, I think, a perfect
quarterback to have a Buffalo who can still drive it through the wind.
But I know as the year got later on, that was something definitely as a DB.
Arms get tired and the weather.
Yeah, and the ball, just like you golf, you do anything, the ball just doesn't travel
the same.
So unless you have that velocity that you can get over it,
and you're not playing in a bunch of these games,
but whenever you do, as it gets cold,
even it's a nice day,
they try to stay away from those deep outside burkers.
Hey coach, let's forget about the cold weather team.
When do you know if your team's like a championship team
or not?
I guess you knew that a lot for New England.
Is there something that happens with your own team
that you go like, okay, we got something this year?
Is there any of that?
Well, I think being able to perform under pressure is key.
Uh, so, you know, in the fourth quarter games on the line, offense, defense,
special teams on the road, crowd noise.
Uh, you know, when you can do the things you need to do to, to, you know, win in a
tight situation, whether it's run out the clock in four minutes or score in two
minutes or, or stop them when
they have a chance to score and beat you and those kinds of things. The more you can do that under
pressure and evaluate how your team performs when everything's on the line, that's to me the best
indicator. Say what you want to be out of Kansas City and people say they don't win and all that,
but they found ways to win.
They make the plays when they need to make them for the most part.
Whether they've gotten a couple breaks or haven't gotten a couple breaks.
I mean, the bottom line is they know how to win and they know how to play in critical
situations.
There's a lot to be said for that.
Now, I would say there's other teams that have shown that too.
Philadelphia, you know, Buffalo for sure.
Pittsburgh, I mean, they're not the only team, but I think the more that your team does that
and does the right thing and consistently do the right thing,
that that's a good omen.
All right, well, I appreciate you so much
for your knowledge and wisdom every single week.
We've appreciated the hell out of you.
You look great today, man.
No manning cast tonight.
What are we doing? No manning cast tonight, night off. All right, well, good. appreciated the hell out of you. You look great today man. No manning cast tonight. What are we doing?
No manning cast tonight. Night off.
Alright well good. Enjoy the hell out of it. Ladies and gentlemen, the GOAT, Bill Belichick.
So that's how he could tell if he looks at his team. Week seven, week eight. Did you see we had a
four-minute drive there? Just kind of just took the life out of that team. The defensive thing is like
maybe we got something here, you know?
And then there's other coaches that are watching situations unfold and
they're like, we ain't got it.
Yep.
The Bears.
It would be scary if you're winning, if you win some of those games, but
you know, like, hey, we're not that good a team.
Like that's got to be scary for some coaches.
They know that.
We have some breaking news here, Kay, on this Overreaction Monday.
Wow.
Yeah.
Oh, no. Sal Masekela has texted me. What?
Ticker. Holy shit. Yeah. We have made contact with Sal Masekela. Unbelievable. X Games host,
legend, icon. That's a fish. Yeah. Yeah. That's a whale my friend. Yeah you're damn right.
Probably one of them sperm ones. Yeah, exactly. Big sperm whale.
Holy shit.
Sal, we spent a lot of time with you, bro.
Thank you, Sal.
I feel bad for this generation, although they're still fighting.
I like that. They are still fighting.
Hey, as Ohio State legend, we can't have fighting in these games, obviously.
That is not good for sport, it's not good for everything to see people just coming to blows after everything.
As an Ohio State legend though, you had to be pretty pumped to see that your boys were like, not on our field, are you doing that?
And I saw a lot of people say like, well if you didn't want that, don't let them win. It's like, agreed?
Hey, and a lot of people said, if they showed the fight, they showed half of the game in would be a little bit agreed everything you're saying rightfully so I also understand the positioning of a player going
Not on our field is this happening and it happened all across ball
But obviously the game having it happen was big. What is uh, you think your reaction?
Ohio State alumni action because jack sorries are saying not doing on my home not on my field. He said it there
What are your thoughts on it all AJ well I especially after I saw a couple different
angles like they were down there the guys were singing Carmen Ohio like every
team does after win or lose you put your arms around each other and they sing
Carmen Ohio they saw this happening right then like during that I absolutely
understand them turned around saying that we can't we can't let this happen
obviously we lost the game we know every you you can you can be you have both opinions where yeah
Hey, if you want to if you don't want to let them do this beat them first
Yeah, we get that but also like you're a lot like
Yes, it's a competitive situation. That is that is your spot. It was senior day as well for those guys
Like yeah, there's a lot of emotion. Yes. I but also we can't have it. You know, I like
I'm probably in the minority. I mean I like I like seeing it. It's a part of game
It's emotions the bad part about I think is when the players who usually are starting that type of shit
You look at the players you look at the jersey numbers
But 90% of them didn't even take a meaningful snap in the game. They just start some shit after the game
Obviously, we know Baker may feel his situation years ago, but I like it. No one these kids still care about I like that they care. Yeah, exactly
I like that they care still can't ever lose that can't ever lose it. It also can't just become
You know full on way live
Melee after anyways, we continue on YouTube ESPN plus and tick tock live
We'll make our picks and cover more be friend telefriends of the nice my change of life. I
Think we did
Was uh was Ryan Day breaking it up or was he doing during he was I think he was in La La Land
Yeah, I mean he far looked like a soldier in trenches shell-shocked and WWE. Yeah, they're putting those videos out
I look like drones flying over. Yeah, and he they're just sitting down there
Yeah, it just Ryan day looked like he was in the middle. He was not his body was. How did this happen? They put a shot on him like what just happened? Yeah right here
He's just learning. Oh shit. It was a form. So it was awesome. He was Ryan day was wondering
How the hell was my family gonna survive this in the state of Ohio?
I assume AJ right
Yeah, absolutely. I mean, yeah, I don't think it even, it never, it felt like this can't be reality.
It had to be, he had to be thinking like this, how did this happen?
It happens to all of us and I hate that I can even say that I'm one of the people that it happens to,
but I could be standing in a group and my eyes are open and I'm definitely physically there.
Yeah.
But in this brain, I'm not hearing a thing anybody saying I'm not in this room at all
I am I think they call it daydreaming or whatever
I don't think he I think I was a day nightmare happening for Ryan Day
So like I think he looked very bad in some of those things go what happened in his guys are starting to full on
There's a full brawl happening behind him. But if you listen to that interview from what hang time or game time with Ryan Day?
Yeah, and he was like
My dad died okay, so that's obviously
horrendous I did everything with him growing up he was my but aside from that
Worst thing that's ever happened to me in my family is losing the Michigan. So then a meet three score favorite. Mm-hmm
Immediately they don't even have a quarterback. Greatest team ever assembled.
The whole situation ever.
And then you lose that.
I think his body might have been there on the field.
And I don't like making excuses for people.
But I think if you just think about this
from Ryan Day's side, in his head,
I'm wondering if he's thinking,
I shouldn't coach here.
I should not even, I can't even, how am I even gonna?
And they're singing that Carmen Ohio song or whatever.
He's not.
His head is thinking about his family
going to the grocery store in Ohio,
and going to school and sports,
and having to live their life,
and what he's had to go through,
because these Ohio State fans are very passionate,
very, very, especially about this one.
So I think that about Ryan Day, personally.
I think Ryan Day was there physically, but not actually.
And then whenever he comes back to it and it's all,
I think he did kind of look bad there then.
You know, cause I think Sharrun Moore was in there.
He was trying his best.
I mean, it's chaos.
That's when, you know, leaders are, you know,
supposed to step up in the midst of it.
And it's hard once shit starts and it's just people,
you don't know what's going on.
And you got no helmet.
Pepper sprayed and everything, like some, you know,
assistant coaches and everybody usually running there.
So you want to be somewhere around the mix,
making sure you're getting your guys out of there,
getting to safety overall.
But so, you know, like you said, it's a bad look,
a lot is going on in a short amount of time.
We saw Mason Graham getting a lot, you know,
being interviewed live.
Hey, that was sick.
And then he's like, oh shit, like it's going down,
I put my helmet on. But you're going in there and try to sort things out
But once again is different 350 pound man with a helmet on as opposed to head coach
So um, but that's why you get paid the big bucks. Also, we can't reiterate this enough the fact that they care enough
Yeah, you know like that we got to keep that we can never lose that everybody thought they were gonna lose that
Remember we're gonna lose these robberies and I think when guys go on the ground is
When the pepper spraying started I think yeah, if they were gonna lose that. Remember, we're gonna lose these robberies. And I think when guys got on the ground is when the pepper spraying started, I think.
If the reports-
Yeah, that's where it gets scary, I think, for people.
They trampled.
Stampeds potentially have it,
they're trampling and everything like that.
And obviously the cops were gonna be outmanned.
Sure.
Out-sized.
Yep.
Out everything.
And they were basically the ones
that were gonna have to keep this thing at bay.
Yeah, Graham, what the hell's going on? What's this? Well, excuse me. Excuse me. All right. I'm sorry
Sorry there. I'm gonna have to get back into this thing. Let me
Tighten this up as well. There was a couple guys that went flying in there with no helmet and I thought yeah That's what I'd noticed that right away. I was like strap it up. No matter what strap it up and
Everybody has to show face and once again Here's a whole nother concept once five of your guys like Graham right there once he saw any of his guys
have to
Have to show face because they're actually watching film see who is there was a minimum at minimum
I get your guys out in like, you know, take it down take it back
If anything got to jump in there to film one of your guys
But it's just a wild situation and if you played team sports, you've been in some type of scuffle some type
You know, it's a lot of a lot of shit going a lot of testosterone out there
So definitely a wild wild scene with pepper spray and all that shit emotions or how these guys, you know
A lot of them should have three been at three four years have lost
Yeah losing this game from Columbus. He's from Pickerton into that suburb of Columbus 33 the one that was saying
They're not doing it. Oh and for his he's gonna have to live with that forever. They go on and win the national championship this year
Let's just say they do
Jack is gonna be asked by his friends about it still you know
Talking about yeah, like the gold pants you get when you beat Michigan, Ohio State players get him like that'll always be
Why you guys go?
I mean you got special gold pants when we sleep in them like uh, like the Mormon in the Mormons don't they?
Yeah, you sleep in special gold pants over there. I know there
It's like a pendant they put on a necklace you get it every time you you beat Michigan
You get a pair of gold pants with the score on the back
It's kind of sort of coach way back in the day that gave a speech saying hey
They put their pants on one leg at a time, just like us.
So then boom, gold pants are what you get when you win.
Okay. So you got a couple, why don't we see the necklace? You got three of them. Yeah.
When do you wear them? Do you wear them when you go to the game? No, no, I do not. But
yeah, I have them. You don't wear them. Oh, H I O buddy. Okay. Cool. That's what I say.
If you, if you left those stranded and then you say you don't wear your oh, no
No, I'm still I'm still with the boys. You know that okay
All right
This is the type of shit though that I don't understand really like the reaction
Yeah to like what happened like obviously you'd never want to see like a massive melee like that and like guys getting pepper sprayed on
a
Moting it exactly but like But like that's genuine hate.
Like Ohio State and Michigan, not only the schools, but like the fans,
they hate each other. Like it's real.
They really do fucking hate each other.
So like, you know, we want to bitch and whine about like, hey,
this is why college football, it's going to get ruined because
some of these great rivalries, we're not going to get these anymore.
Like this. Oh, still got it.
And this is the type of shit that can happen.
Like it can, you know, obviously. Yeah of shit that can happen like it can you know?
Like obviously yeah, you don't want like it's not like after that everyone's like oh that was awesome
That should happen every single year
But like look at that shit they that's been happening for how long you beat Michigan and you get a fucking
Pendant for a necklace like they care it matter. Yeah. Yeah, and
Yeah, imagine a quickly imagine the other way if all of a sudden let's say they there's that now
There's a happy medium I understand between what I'm gonna tell you
But let's say they were out there hugging and smiling in Jersey swapping
Oh my god, that would be that would be horrendous. Ohio State fans would not go to the next day would say Ryan Day
Yeah, he has his boys hugging Michigan. Yes. They don't care exchange in jerseys
It's what we can know. What are we even? I mean, the players that were,
there was during the melee,
there was a group of players huddled praying after the game.
They were getting shit and praying after the game.
Yeah, well, God bless them.
And boy, down at College Station,
you can feel Jesus.
Oh yeah.
You can.
I got a couple of people that were not happy
that I said that at the beginning,
and I'm like,
oh, I didn't know you people actually existed.
There is people that just get like super pissed off. Whatever Jesus Christ has mentioned. Oh, yeah
It's like I'm just pointing out. I'm just pointing out where I'm just trying to introduce you to where we are
You're the anti Jesus approaches people say I have one lady
Well, obviously I said later that one lady that was awesome. Yeah, she didn't think I saw immediately. Yeah
Boom, see ya later lady. Boom. She said I had turned off cuz at Pat That was awesome. Yeah, she didn't think I saw it immediately. Yeah, boom. See ya
Boom, she said I had turned off cuz at Pat but she wanted me to see it She wanted she wanted me to send the if that's her name probably a troll
I had to turn it off cuz there was too much pandering from at Pat McAfee show and I was like
well, just once commercial break first thing that pops up we got to quote this on bitch and
Later lady. Good. Welcome to the thunder. No
this is what you wanted, okay, because other than that like this on bitch and later lady, go ahead, welcome to the Thunderdome.
This is what you wanted, okay?
Because other than that, like,
getting to experience that place down there was sweet.
It was, went to Cavender's, you know,
which is a great Western store.
The people were fantastic.
My man Juan was the one who pointed me
in the right direction for the hat that I was wearing there.
Luke Casey gave it great hat
Yeah, big rig guess how much that had if you had to go
$1,200 I was gonna be my guess 541. That's an American hat
Wow, yeah brands actually American now and the deal I was looking at so as soon as I walk in
I think Brendan and Chris two workers for Cavendish. They looked awesome. We're talking sweet dress to the nice
We're talking very sweet. They they were obviously I believe they're fans of program or game day
They knew immediately who I was when I walked in there and they go Pat Cavenders. Welcome to Cavenders. I'm like, thank you
Where's the hats at boys? You know, where's the hats and they go this way
So I walk over and there's an entire wall of them 80 bucks 90 bucks
Whatever and I'm looking at all these things and I'm trying to find a good one because I know I'm wearing
Black and gray the next thing so I know what the fit is so I'm trying to match it and this guy won
He was pretty jacked up. He goes big guy like you
Dad had eight points at it and it was this one areas. There's one right there. That's my man one one goes big guy
Like you he goes like this couple times he goes
That's your hat right there, and I like sir. I sir. I was like okay. Thanks one
He go and he hits you like hits me goes
That's your hat right there, and I turn around and it was this hat sitting up on I could so you know you go to
A car dealership they got a car up on the thing
It was like this hat was like up on like a fucking
Stool and it was like that's your hat right there
And I'm like, all right. Hell yeah, you know show life. I thought it felt yeah underneath
It was like it was I was like, all right
Let me check this out and obviously was 4x the price of the other hat here looking at but as soon as I put it
On my head. It was like, oh, that's nice. And then they said like what type of uh, what type of shape you want on this thing?
I think that's the JB is what that's called the jb
i want with the jb do they do that in the top do they adjust it in the store because it looks
sweet i do like that oh yeah they shaped that thing right there for you and then uh there's
something that you can get around the top like the little there's like a little band or something
you can put around the top right there and uh they were right there at the bottom and i go
oh i can get one of these bands and the guy guy that works at Camden goes, don't do that.
Nobody does that.
I was like, so these are all just like Fugazi goes, yes, yes.
This is for people to walk in here and be like,
oh, I'm going to get a, and we just, nobody does that.
Just do the one that comes on the hat.
I'm like, thank you.
Thank you.
Because there was this big ass, big ass thing
I was going to put around there.
Nobody don't do that.
So Juan, Chris, Brendan, I think it was a JC in there.
The whole crew of Cavenders, they took care of me, man.
It was, it was, Gumpy, that was a cool place
to walk in and out of.
Yeah, that place was awesome.
It was electric in there.
There was, Pat's hat is unbelievable.
There was so many good hats there.
You could spend hours in there.
We were only in there 20 minutes in and out.
It got pretty chaotic.
Gump's you get a hat?
No, I didn't.
We, it got pretty, yeah, it was wild.
Trying to get out of there.
There's good people down there.
A lot of really good people, you know,
and trying to do the whole thing.
But it was, that was a cool store.
I would go to Cavender's if I just, they got shit.
Just check it out. Just like a Cabela's, you go on a Cabish if I just they got shit check it out just like
a Cabela's you own a Cabela's a lot of shit
football it's wonderful I I love that we get chance to talk about it every day. What a joke. What a joke. Happy Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving. Hey Jay, sorry you're Ohio State Buckeyes late in the egg in
Columbus and I'll tell you what Ryan Day didn't really give me that good of an
answer on game day either. Yeah I did notice that. A little bit I said yeah you
know you do that thing at the end of the game against Indiana a lot of people in
Indiana weren't happy I actually loved it I loved know, you do that thing at the end of the game against Indiana. A lot of people in Indiana weren't happy.
I actually loved it.
I loved the message you sent to your players.
You guys have like an edge to you.
Do you feel like you have an edge?
And, uh, he was like, yeah, always got to have an edge.
It was like, well, this guy's fucking locked in or he hates my guts.
One or two.
So are we one or the other thankful to him for doing that for us.
That was a Fox game, obviously.
So him put headset on talking to us was great.
But it felt like he was, was there a lot of anxiety in that stadium?
Was there anxiety in that stadium early?
I don't know, anxiety, I would say as the game went on, absolutely.
When you looked like, because I don't know how you guys watch a game,
like when you are cheering for your team or whatever.
First quarter, second quarter, okay, even a half time,
now we're gonna turn it on, here we go time, like, now we're gonna turn it on.
Here we go, let's go.
We're gonna turn it on, it's 10, 10, half.
We're good to go now.
And then the later it gets in the game
and the closer the game is still very close
or you're behind, yeah, a lot of anxiety.
Here's the, God, I'm trying to figure out
which phone number is your phone number now.
There it is.
I have four different A.J. Hawk numbers in my phone. Nice well I think you've changed your number a couple different times I've had
the same one I have a Wisconsin area code bud I'm still 20 years ago so do
you have an email is my email popping up in here we gotta figure I do have an
email I do use email but I wonder if it's in my do you you know how to use
email what oh yeah I'm great emailer actually, I don't even know if you can hit keys
You'd be surprised I took the typing class where your WPM dude. Oh
like
5,000
Whatever the top is whatever the top is yeah 5,000 words. Of course. We watch Schefter have four words for a minute earlier
I'm trying to put that Taysom Hill update out.
This is the text between me and AJ.
So Gumpi and I fly back from Texas A&M.
So we're following the games on our phones.
Yeah.
You know, updates.
Wi-Fi hit or miss here.
In a couple of weeks now, I don't know what's going on.
Still bad.
Buddy, multiple planes now.
Interesting.
Multiple planes now, hit or miss. Very spotty. Can't even play songs that we don't have.'s going on still bad buddy multiple planes interesting multiple planes now hit or miss very spotty
Can't even play songs that we don't have don't like that. Can't you know?
Need that that's tough
Very tough. It's like your homage you feel like your homage on a private plane now very nice
Obviously everything is much better than having to travel any other way
But I'm just saying it whenever a lot of sports are happening whenever there's a dump of updates like every 15 minutes to your phone
It's hard to keep up. Well, we're seeing what was going on with Ohio State, Michigan
It was like we were looking forward to the next bump in Wi-Fi
It was like well, Ohio State would have turned on they'll have turned on some point and then no we're still a 10-10 brother
And then no, we're still a 10-10 brother. No, we're still a 10-10 brother. So I sent a text to AJ who's at the game
I go brother
What the hell's going on?
Need score TD man. It's what his response was. I had no service next text was
Will Howard has a concussion. Definitely. That's what you said
That is no doubt. He's got a lot of Bill Levinson. I thought I thought initially and then I saw him pop up and he
He went to the tent and then he ran a sprint down the sidelines showed it
Okay, it got the whole place went crazy. Like it was an awesome moment
That's what you follow it up with
pass protocol
Yeah, he was sprinting up and down the sidelines like yeah
That was your next text. So then I said we're on a plane horrendous Wi-Fi
We're getting updates every 10 minutes in your next one is I am in stadium. They have to win then next update
They will
then
Need to score a TD
Then I get home. I watch the end of that game Jack Sawyer big-time pick. Oh, yeah
Holy hell the Columbus kid did it
And then what happens?
Nothing we're going back to age
I couldn't imagine the emotional rollercoaster of you with a bunch of Buckeyes too because I know how those fans are with you
AJ good to see hey good to see you
No way we lose today go to the next suite. Hey good to see you. No way
We'll score touchdown you get that final suite
We might fucking not. Yeah, we might not is that what it was like for you and your fam
Yeah, I would say I brought a couple of my kids and one of my daughter's friends with us and I we went to a
Suite that we go in a lot guys a man Tom this guy Tom
I love him, but he is a big huge diehard fan and just watching his reaction
It's his suite hit there's a million people in there as kids are back from college
all these people are having a good time and as the game went yeah, it got a little quieter and quieter and got more nervous and
Frustrated and then I think more disbelief then towards the end for sure
What a play by Jack sick baits him baits him Sick. Bates him. Bates him into it.
Everybody's going to a terrible throw, obviously.
Kirk Cousins had a couple of those.
Yeah, way worse than that.
Yeah, that running.
That was awesome.
Fuck it.
And the five guys.
That was awesome.
Incredible.
That was good.
Five guys there.
He didn't see any of them.
He had four picks, and it seemed like he didn't see the other team at all.
Or he did.
I respect.
Yeah. There isn't a defense on the field the other team at all. I respect. Yeah.
There isn't a defense on the field with Kirk Cousin.
No, no way.
That's what it felt like with yesterday's Kirk.
Touchdown.
You know what they're calling for already?
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
Oh yeah.
It does not matter how good you play two weeks ago.
What did you do this week?
Four picks?
Four picks.
Is that what we spent the eighth overall pick on?
To sit and watch a guy throw four picks?
The bad picks.
It's like, well, you paid him 180 million.
It's like, yeah, well, maybe we just,
maybe we just, not this one.
Okay, that's not, obviously that's a great play.
Shout out to the Chargers being a great football team.
I don't even think it's this one.
Which?
No, this one.
That one won great.
That one was an easy one too.
A duck hunter, whenever it's coming across the screen, that one, you know, Sean, that one slips out easy one too. A duck hunter whenever it's coming across the screen.
That one, you know Sean, that one slips out of his hand.
Anytime you're throwing it out, it slips.
Problematic.
This would be the one that makes you go,
what the fuck is Kirk Cousins doing?
And I think Kirk watches it back goes, what am I?
What am I doing?
What team am I on?
You know, that one was the one.
And then Derwin James has a game sealer
Where he makes a massive play here and gets another pick but with all that being said they were still a drive away from winning This thing. Yeah, you know, they could have went down there and won this moved on instead now the Los Angeles Chargers are
8-4 the Atlanta Falcons are still sitting atop the NFC South battling right now with the Bucks
But it's like hey
That did not look good. Sometimes you're gonna have that Kirk's gonna have those days
I have a quarterback's gonna have those days, but the Chargers defense made a lot of plays even whenever Kirk wasn't handling
Yeah, been the best scoring defense all year long. I felt coming into that game
It will be a low scoring game probably come down to a field goal
But yeah that defense to he's still, he's been great all year long.
Fifth round pick, rookie out of Maryland, I believe, making great plays.
Two of those picks, one pick, six, getting sacks.
Kurt Cuddes cannot play that bad, especially when it's a guy like
Michael Pennex who you took in the top ten in the wings.
I don't think they make a move now because you don't want to put a rookie
quarterback in there still trying to figure this shit out.
When you still are leading your division, you still can host a home playoff game but
it's gonna continue to get loud that's just what happens when you bring in a
talented backup quarterback whether it's in the draft or free agency these things
are gonna get loud when you start to play like this that throw. That was bad
it was terrible. Derwin James though the game sealer at the end where he jumps
around and he's doing stuff that like just freak athletes
Yeah, just absolutely free. He was all over the place. Yeah, he was unbelievable
They're they had a third and one and he was like five yards in the backfield right after the snap
Like he's one of those guys
Selfishly, of course, I think we can all probably echo this sentiment like that's a dude you just want on your football team
Oh, he does everything and he's such a sure tackler like anytime He's around the ball
It feels like if he gets his hands on you like you're going down no matter what the thing about that last Kirk
Interception to error not his last one
I guess his third one the fuck it throw to the end zone B. John Robinson is running across his face and granted
Definitely sure could have got tackled, you know, either immediately or right after but you just give the bottle that guy
There's a chance he makes two or three people miss and he gets in the man Kirk doing a cool Kirk Co chains
underhanded
Exactly and make it a little more difficult. Tuck it and run, he can still move. What are you talking about? Every option except for the slow ball. I wanna see a John Elwood. Yeah, exactly.
Team meeting, that was, I can't believe it.
What if he threads a needle though?
What if he threads a needle though?
That's what he was thinking.
But that's the thing, like the thread the needle thing,
yeah, he's throwing a balloon.
Is the needle, so the needle would be flat,
like you're trying to lay in a needle into this.
What if this gets tipped seven times
and his guy comes down with it, then we're all in.
Well, he knows he throws a very catchable ball. Yeah, he's throwing a boarder. laying a needle into this. What if this gets tipped seven times and his guy comes down with it? Then we're all in.
Well, he knows he throws a very catchable ball.
Yeah, he's throwing a forwarder.
That one may be the most catchable that he's ever,
he's ever thrown.
I mean, that one, I didn't watch the entire game yet.
Okay, I certainly will with NFL Plus, premium,
NFL Pro, where he can watch through it all or whatever.
I didn't get to see it all, but boy,
I did see all of his interceptions in that one. I had to watch it like or whatever. I didn't get to see it all, but boy, I did see all of his interceptions in that one.
I had to watch it like 30 times.
I was like, they're Kirk ain't.
And then you, then he fast forward through it.
And it's like, they're still in this thing somehow.
They are still in this.
That Atlanta Falcons team still can go and get it
with everything they have.
And Kirk's gonna have to limit that.
But the Chargers team, they're very Chargers team they're very much alive.
They're very much.
Number one scoring defense you say D-Butt?
Number one scoring defense?
Yep.
That's the number one stat that I care about.
If I'm trying to look at a defense how many points do you give up?
You can get lost in all the other stuff but that is such a huge thing.
Did you see who Jim Harbaugh called up at the end of the game?
Who?
Whole defense coming up here.
I don't know what that means. I think I've been in there before where an entire
unit has been called up and then
normally everybody's back in their areas
you kind of just mill up into the middle and then all of a sudden the middle isn't there anymore now now the middle is
moved just a little bit. So now defense has to stand in the front here entire thing and they did for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella, for he's a jolly good fella for he's a jolly good fella
for he's a jolly good fella
wish nobody can deny derwin james jim horrabal big hug they're all in them they're boys spun to win
spun to win derwin and harbaugh are boys yes feels like after every game you see about lad
Darwin and Harbaugh are boys. Yes feels like after every game you see about lad
Lab of conkey fucking yeah, sorry, Conrad's killing it. He's a beast quick. He looks like he's what literally 13 years old Yeah, yeah, he got banged up. Did he come back in the game? I saw him do a jersey thing
Okay, cool. That's the only problem too. He is their only yeah
Consistent wide receiver weapon on the outside and he's a rookie
He is phenomenal
But as you get later in these games,
when you gotta beat Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen
or Marjax, like you're gonna have to have
some dependable weapons on the outside.
Hopefully J.K. Dobbins get back in there at some point.
But yeah, calling up that whole defense,
when you have four picks, a forced fumble,
and a touchdown on defense,
obviously still is gonna get a game ball.
But probably, you know, it's a whole,
hey, everybody on defense gets a game ball this platform. They love Jim over there. Yeah, you're winning too
So he can just continue to build on you know, whenever they lose like that's why the Detroit Lions thing is so impressive
Because MC DC was completely defeated for a long time right at the beginning Oh and 10
He's doing all his shit speaking the exact same way he's speaking now
But at that time with only an interim head coach of the Miami Dolphins experience and they're losing losing losing
He's still you know man
Like sometimes you eat a sandwich and each bite is not gonna have as much meat as every other bite and today's the day where we got
All bread
No meat man, and that's just how it's gonna be he's saying shit like that
Yeah at the beginning and everybody's like, fuck this guy.
You know, even a locker room, like some places, a locker room would start thinking like that.
But instead, everybody in Detroit was like, yeah, I do hate whenever I have a sandwich
with too much food.
And they just keep buying in, keep buying in.
And then, what, he cried, right?
After the first win?
Yep, exactly.
Well, they started out 0-10 his first year
disastrous start then they did a little bit better second season they started out 1-6 and everyone's like what the
fuck are we doing here and then they started winning games so I'm just glad they had patience because same old
Lions you might fire that guy right away. No yeah forget the ownership I'm talking about the players in a locker
room yeah like players in a locker room seemingly were like, yeah, we enjoy
this mountain of a fucking man who's making us do 30 up-downs before practice. Not five, not 10,
and he's doing them with us. Like we believe in this guy. And then obviously it's paid off
with Jim Harbaugh, the way he is. Like him having success helps out so much just for everybody
buying in and being a fan of
it and I'm happy it's happening for him over there.
And him being like an older guy, right?
Because it feels like hiring an older head coach who's kind of out for a little while.
Everyone's looking for like the young guy that's going to be with your team for the
next 20, 25 years.
Like Harbaugh's in his 60s, right?
Late 50s, 60s.
So it feels like because of that, like a guy like Pete Carroll or Bill or even like Vrabel would be more so on the board
Just because like the culture setter that they all are so Chicago's open New Orleans is open New York is open
What other places are gonna be open?
Because he said it sounds like right
Yeah, they're gonna wait till the end of the year to figure that out.
But he said Trevor Stang, seemingly, from the deal there was issued.
And he brought up the guy they signed on Sunday, Walker Little, the left tackle.
Raiders will definitely be open.
What?
I think so.
Any surprises you think after the season that might pop up?
A job opening that we're not thinking of?
Let's just go across the bottom of each division there.
Cleveland seems like he's going to okay right? Yeah. Got an extension a little while back. I think Zach Taylor would be a surprise. Yes it would. Mostly
does he have any years left on his deal? Yeah. So then no way. Yeah okay. You know
that's not happening in Cincinnati. Jacksonville, seemingly Doug was supposed to be fired about two weeks ago. Yeah, and then they continue to lose
He's still there and he is awesome on a microphone. We need more press conferences out of him
Tennessee that was a
Absolute ass beating. Yeah, we'll let us sweet though. Yeah, throw away rolling laugh filthy
You see the screen grab 28 nothing and he's just dying laughing on the sideline
It was actually comedy
We appreciate will have his contribution that's fun. Yeah, yeah, that would be a surprise
I hope we don't like hey
We brought you in here to be like an offensive guy and will love us is the worst quarterback in the NFL
Do you remember going into the year and I'm not gonna say it was any of you guys. It was definitely me granted to
Rile up some Colts fans, but I definitely
Only one that talked myself into a lot of people were believing that will levis was a guy
Oh, yeah, they're gonna build around will levis. They're gonna keep doing that draft a line go get Calvin Ridley pay him a button
Legerious knee that was a real hollered
Yeah, great great offseason moves. I thought I definitely have faith and look a lot better than they look this
Yeah, sure people are saying wills franchise quarterback though. And I was like what what? Yeah, this is the he was just checking something
No, I know it was a it was a full-blown. I think that's the photo. I tweeted out
I got like six photos in a row just because you know
I take a bunch from to get a good grab. He was laughing
Hard well, I couldn't believe what was going on. I couldn't believe it's us, you know, maybe make some plays
If you ever laugh at a funeral can understand what I mean, of course
You know, that's of course that's what Levis this could be this could have been different too
Like if he wouldn't have decided week one when they're Beating the Bears like throw behind his back. Yep, you know like when they were down the red zone just saying fuck it
I'm trying to make a play. I'm trying to be number one on SportsCenter top 10 and every week
Yeah, and then inevitably, you know throwing pick sixes fumbling shit like I mean, yes
Yeah, he had like four
I mean you hate to do this ever but if you had like four games in a row is like will have a
single-handedly lost them that game
Do you do because it's a lot of stuff happens during a game
Was in there for a few yeah, he probably was awesome. He's not boring. He is not boring
He's fun to watch my favorite player in the NFL. Yeah
He plays fun to ball
He puts fun in full. He does he does it's a I mean, you know
What do they always say is a children's game for a Kings ransom? He takes that to heart
No place that head-down sprint after the best the best is the best thing I've seen in an NFL game in 20 years
He has to know that he's a contact guy.
Yeah, he's a contact creator playing quarterback.
Yes, he is.
Don't mean to laugh at you, but boy,
let's get back to the standings here. Tennessee, that would be wild.
I think Patriots.
Callahan would be crazy.
What's that? We're not a...
Patriots.
No, no, I'm saying would be surprising.
I'm not saying going to happen.
I'm just saying like that would be a team
so we assume the Patriots is safe because
like if craft was to do that that would be a
massive omission yeah in a very
Hostile situation and hostile is an interesting way to describe but kind of loud loud. It's a very loud
Yeah, which so and I'm not saying that coach Mayo deserves me fired in a three and same they're a rookie
quarterback first year in this entire thing they got to build up that team I
think they know that but if Kraft was to fire the head coach one year after what
happened with Bill with how loud it all was that doesn't feel like reality and
everything that was said after about both parties about both parties but like
just what he has said about Mayo
Throughout, you know the offseason in the past year if he were to do that
He would basically be saying like yeah, I'm the dumbest guy in football
Yeah, so coach Mayo we assume is gonna get you for sure big win for the Indianapolis Colts yesterday
Yeah, big drive right down the field
They're live then go for two. Oh, but that that uh might be a bit of a holding on that last one not to point a bit
Okay, I mean you call it a hold. We'll call it tough football. Sorry. I thought that's a word play
It's a nice powerful run though great very powerful. It was whenever he does that. It's tough to stop
That's why he got all the way to third and go down there
I think for them to score and it's like Stiken we got to play. Yeah fourth and go Stiken
We got to play remember we put him out on the edge and then just runs over yeah you can
say here a court oh no just tripped oh no yeah that was good that was crazy I
like that they went for two I'm glad they did it me too I love the yeah it was
good for football good for football Colts still very much in it yeah two head
two head things. Yep
Was a chilly day up there certainly Oh Wendy he looks sweet he looks sweet slide in a 68 yarder at the end Yeah
By two yards barely
You think
He thought that was in though cold as shit 27 degrees. They said it felt like trying to hit a 68 yarder
Yeah, it was definitely chilly
I think it was like two yards, right?
pause
Oh
cool
Yard and a half maybe it was close but
Yeah, I mean you definitely wanted to lose this oh he's not he had
it yeah so that's like probably two yards two yards short so he hits from
66 and 27 degrees that's pretty good that's a fucking bomb that is a fucking bomb imagine
that ball goes through though oh my god what a win slide miss one earlier right
or no did he yeah he missed one short and immediately looked at the holder
What the fuck man?
Like a 66 yarder and 27 degrees would be yeah insane. It's gonna get colder though
Yeah, there's gonna be colder games that happen
I hope everybody understands that those playing in that game yesterday that it is it is gonna get colder
Especially in those playoff teams. Yeah, which we still Colts, sorry, Indianapolis Colts still have very much in front of them.
Drake Mays.
He is so fucking good.
It is incredible.
There's a lot of things he does, you know,
like Bill said, he's judging his team
on if they can win championship in certain situations.
There's a lot of things he does during that game
where you're like, oh fuck, this is a guy.
He got the edge on Quiddie Pay a couple of times.
It was like, he looks so fast.
Yeah, absolutely.
I had no idea he was this fast.
He's very legit.
Very much so.
Actually.
What are the stats right now that he's leading in?
He has the highest average yards per rush by a quarterback
in the history of NFL over the last 20 years over Mike Vick.
Granted, he's still gotta finish out the year,
but everything out of New England sucks except for Drake May right now and
Christian Gonzalez Christian Gonzalez genuinely is an all-pro cornerback I
hope he does get it AP tone talking to you but Drake May himself yeah he is the
reason there's so much hope in New England and you know the offensive line
first and goal from the one you know flash forward 30 seconds first and goal
from the 21 yard line
Like there are a lot of things that need to be better and it's basically starts and almost ends there
Just because Drake may is that good like his respect the receivers you could say
Yeah, they don't really have anyone playing receiver
But that's not that big of a problem like Drake may is hitting guys in the chest even a couple of he's very fun to watch
Yeah, yeah, he's electrifying like everything he does
It's like the guy can actually do no wrong in New England's eyes right now
And if we figure out that old line, I mean it could be a quick quick turnaround
And they rich and score a touchdown and two-point conversion and a big-time win to keep everything in front of them
Let's go back to the seating. So
Patriots would be wild if they fired their coach
Remember that's where this conversation is.
We go over, Jets already fired their coach.
Dolphins aren't, right?
Dolphins aren't gonna...
I was gonna say, is there any chance?
I mean, I don't think it'll happen, but...
Still went out.
The record with two of two.
What's up, buddy?
Still went out.
We're not talking about playoffs.
We're talking about firing a coach.
Oh no, we're not firing a coach.
Yeah, I think Mike's saying it.
Okay, all right.
Same career, tied together.
All right, so let's continue with teams that. All right. Same career, tied together.
All right, so let's continue with teams that are under 500.
Raiders, that would be a surprise, obviously, one year in, but I think there's been more
and more chatter about that than I think we could have expected.
Like more and more chatter about that.
Yeah.
Him coming out and saying this is the best team in football versus the worst team in
football.
Can't say that.
And we can change the narrative.
You just can't say that.
And then you lose.
Yeah, you just can't say that.
Like, everyone can think, you can't go out there and be like, hey, listen, everyone knows
I fucking suck at my job, okay, but let's go try to win.
You just don't say what everybody knows.
Everybody knows.
They stink.
You're saying inside voices.
Exactly.
This is like an Anthony Richardson situation from earlier.
Inside voices, inside voices, we know.
So maybe the Raiders, I guess that would be a surprise though, one year into this entire
thing, even though they're only two and and ten Giants. I think we're all
Wondering there we thought that could have happened in the first hour when chef was acting like he was getting a text message Cowboys
It wouldn't be a firing. It would just be a lack of a renewal for Mike McCarthy
I think we're all assuming that's gonna happen. Well until Jerry now said like that's not another realm of possibility
I give him a five six year extension and then Mike I think laughed into the microphone whenever I was mentioned all the media
Starter are you like?
What's funny about that with 12 games
We're all expecting new coach in Dallas, right? Yeah, boy the boys are playing hard for us
Which you love that especially out the starting quarterback
And it been an uphill battle for the rest of the season
But yes, I'm right along with us and I don't I don't we're not saying we want it
We're just saying that seems like that is probably no doubt. Yeah, and then Niners don't think that's gonna be a thing
Rams not gonna be a thing
Gannon's definitely not gonna be a thing and then how about McDonald over there with Seattle? Yeah, fine ball.
Hey, did you see their post after they beat the Jets?
No, it wasn't.
It was pretty cool.
It was pretty cool.
It was them on a train and then Aaron was on the outside of one side of the train and
I think their mascot was hanging from the middle of it.
Obviously there was a bunch of like little...
Whoa.
Mexico?
Like hanging like that?
No.
What?
Like hanging... Fuck it. What are you talking about?
Cartels? No, no, no
This is like a celebratory post
Look, yeah
Oh, Seattle's mascot
Yes, we're talking about the Seahawks
You said Aaron, I wasn't sure if you were
Aaron's on the outside over there, Devontae's on the other side
Where you at man? I don't see you
Okay, pretty clever, pretty clever obviously
Spill some sauce. Yeah, yeah spill some sauce. You see the
JSPN up there on rather gets potentially shot at uh, you know Aaron coming on this particular program
Nice, you know JSPN the Jets are behind. It was a Greenberg obviously Jets fan Rex Ryan former Jets coach
Potentially future Jets coach. He's on TV
Lot of Jets talk on television not a lot of Seattle Seahawks
talk on television. We're part of the problem. We agree. With that being said, Gino Smith is a dog.
Yeah, he's a dog. Yeah, he goes for it. Yeah. He's fantastic. Yeah. Just want to make sure he was
dead, bro. Yeah, there was a nice... Just want to make sure he was dead, you know? Just...
I believe the original post of said photo said, stop by my biggest header's funeral today
to make sure he was dead.
R.I.P. Bozo.
He's got legs.
That one's got legs.
Yeah.
He does.
Geno's ballin'.
Yeah.
Yes, he is.
McDonald's cookin'.
Go for the CEO.
Hey, how about the Seattle, Seattle CSPN?
Yeah. Huh? You see fuckin Seattle CSPN? Yeah.
Huh?
You see fucking Leonard Williams?
Yeah.
Moving, dude.
How far did he go?
92 yards?
Moving.
Flying.
He said he thought he was going to get caught,
and then he just realized he wasn't.
He was like, wow, I'm already.
He was flying.
Knee drive.
He's got a former jet too, right?
Yeah.
26 miles an hour.
How about the back?
First of all, left-handed back into the air to himself.
Then he catches, then we got knee drive legs flying out running everybody. I mean what a moment. That didn't feel so good.
And since you scored they're gonna kick extra point and then you're back on the field.
And you know 21-14 there I think the Jets even had a kickoff return touchdown to help them with the lead.
This is the biggest lead that Aaron Rodgers has ever had and then ended up losing I think in the history of his career
Yeah, yeah at home. Happy birthday. Happy birthday Aaron. Yeah
Geez
That was tough. What'd you get him for his birthday? Hey, Jay. Did you say hey?
Here's a what was those paintings used to hand out there? Percaso?
Percaso?
Did you send him a Percaso?
Oh, Percaso, no, I have not, I don't know if Percaso is still doing work.
I'll have to check in on him and see if he, I can commission a piece maybe.
He does good work.
He's passionate.
Commission a piece.
Yeah, he still does.
What do you mean?
That's what you do.
This is what I'm looking for.
Can you use your shafted balls and paint?
That's Picasso football, baby
Okay, let's make our picks and I will do these over reactions
What was the fun? I think you got me this week and we picked four games Thanksgiving and Black Friday
Yeah, you went to and to all one and three. Oh
Wait, when's the last time Kansas City covered?
Never boy, September. Oh wait. I think the good thing about me is I'm picking them every fucking time. Yeah
Oh, yeah, you did yeah the
The Dolphins my pick of the Dolphins. What a joke that was as I was watching I was laughing so hard. It was really as the game started. I was like what the fuck am I I'm from Pittsburgh
What I don't want I don't want these South Florida
Dude, just a walk in and smack the backers in the mouth
Anyway, what am I I almost felt like I I picked against my cell phone. I'm like, why would I do that?
Why why would I even and it's because I'm a travel around. Okay, you're fine
Oh, yeah
I'm a travel around. Okay, you're fine with it. Oh, yeah
And he's been showing me all I've seen every good to a thing that has happened in the to his life over the last few weeks
Because you'll have some video
And that's like what is it? It's like this is to his little baby boy saving some hospital
Okay, so do it can handle the cold is what I started thinking to myself
What a fucking joke that was that no shot. No, no, I mean he threw for 370 I don't know if it was on to it. It's not too I'm not saying to it, but I'm just saying dolphins as a whole
Yeah, I mean it that is he played like shit in the first half
He threw for 370 when the game was over
But I mean it they showed Mike McDaniel on the sideline the first quarter and he was fucking shivering to the bone his nose
I know so red and then they were talking about on the sideline the first quarter and he was fucking shivering to the bone his nose I know so red and then they were talking about on the
The broadcast like you know the Dolphins packed 4,500 pounds of cold gear for this game. I was okay
There's no fucking way they're winning. That's standard operating procedure for NFL teams to take jackets and parkas and heaters
You do and everything like that, which is why?
Equipment managers lives suck.
Away cold games.
Packing up afterwards. First of all unloading beforehand.
Give him some more layers man.
Icy cold. I think that was wind.
I was watching that real time. I was wondering is this shivering or is this the wind?
That's the wind. You guys think he's shivering right?
They do look how fucking red his nose is
People do actually believe he him being cold is the reason the Dolphins lost not anything that happened on the football field
Cuz fucking McDaniel was cold. I was like the world now
I didn't even think there was a thought that he was shivering there cuz that big gut
You can see gust the wind blows the paper at first and he's fighting against the wind
But I love the people I don't want to say are massive haters, but I love the people just go
Fuck shiver. I mean nothing else is looking at guys hanging and fucking nothing else is moving in the video. That's him shiver
Yeah, of course. I can hear him going
To get the play call. Yeah, exactly. What is I can't what's po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po po coming out for warmups and then the Dolphins coming out for their warmup. And obviously, it's a mindset, the cold is.
But it's much easier to get the right mindset whenever you've been in it.
Living it.
Yeah, and you're in it.
It's a lot easier.
You kind of know what to expect too.
You kind of know what it's going to be like.
Some of those guys, this is the first time experiencing that.
Yeah, you have no idea that, yeah, your knees are going to feel that way, yeah.
You're never going to get fully warm.
Yeah, that ain't-
Well, and they- That ain't had the whole fucking game. And game and it could have been like I mean they forced the three and out and then dude
Muffs the punt right? Yeah right away. And it's like, okay. I thought Waylon did that on purpose
I think so too. I think he he's good. He has been an I mean, I haven't watched every other punter
Obviously, you would know much better. Like I think he should go to the Pro Bowl. He's phenomenal He's been unbelievable. This was on purpose too. Like I think he brought this one bad from the sky and
There was one later in the game almost got him too. Yeah, I had a move in. Yep. This kid's like a bomber
He's good. He's very good and it was windy and cold Ireland
Windy and cold. Yeah, that ain't nothing new. No toll buddy. It's almost like he's built for now
I'm not saying all Australians aren't but I think there's portions of Australia that are like very like warm and everything like that
Ireland is shitty weather. Yeah
Great people great great
wonderful times
That Guinness beer tastes. Oh
Nothing better two gulps one to split the G one to make it disappear
That's right.
And then you move on to the next.
And you, hup, hup, hup, hup, hup, hup, hup,
your way through town, and it is a blast.
But this Whelan character, I'm a fucking massive fan,
and I don't know what all the punters are like.
I don't get to watch enough.
If they come to LucasOil Stadium,
I'll try to watch them in warmups.
If they play, I'll try to watch them in the games, but it's hard watching on TV
You know unless you have like a stopwatch to really know who's what and who has good coverage who doesn't but every time
I watch him hit a ball. It's a big ball. Yeah, he is so consistent
It's it really does every time they're backed up like he is he is flipping the field every single time
I can't remember one time this year where he's like shanked a punt or like put the Packers in like a bad situation. It seems like he is always putting them in
a good situation.
Obviously very hard place to play punt. Very, very hard place to punt. So normally like
the Steelers, for instance, Steelers hard place to punt. AFC North hard place to punt.
So normally their fans are going to hate the punter, right? This guy, yeah, he'll hit one
good one, but then we're going to get a bad one it's like well there's fucking 20 mile an hour wins there's a
chance that as that ball is falling that it moves and he doesn't hit a clean like
there's a chance that's gonna happen in those places so in Green Bay I just
assumed that it was always gonna be like uh like that's just how it's gonna go
just cuz science this guy's fucking figured it out yeah he is I'm I don't want to say like I have a pro-ball vote because I don't tone has a P vote
I don't have anything like that
But I think with the limited amount that I've seen every time I watch this guy he murders the ball
Yeah
Every single time and that's what I like to see
Mm-hmm and the Packers have like they've kind of been in this situation where they've been looking for like a consistent punter that they can
You know
They had two guys in the last three years and then kind of just picked him off the scrap heap and you weren't really expecting
Much and he's turned into like he's a weapon. He is an absolute weapon
I think you brought that one down on the Miami boys. He said hey listen, let's see how it feels coming day
Boom touchdown. Got you. Let the Irish lad make a play. You know who's back? Who's that?
Bryce Young.
Yeah.
They lose again.
They did.
But Bryce Young's back.
Yeah, no, it's not his fault.
AJ, I don't know how much you got to see.
Obviously, Tampa Bay and Baker Mayfield get another win.
Congrats to the Bucs.
Big drive, great field goal, good work.
But Bryce Young, Dave Canales, this Carolina Panthers team has looked so much better
and it all started when David Tepper said, yeah you can use my stadium, you can use all of this.
It feels like there was a little bit of good karma put into the universe and then all of a
sudden football guys say thank you, Jesus Christ, we've just been waiting on this entire thing and
now after the benching of Bryce Young Young him watching Andy Dalton for a few
Maybe canalis is offense getting more ingrained
Maybe the culture of Morgan getting great like they look like a good team now once again
Tampa Bay Buccaneers win this game
Carolina Panthers lose again Carolina Panthers record is not gonna be a great one when it's all said and done
But with that being said I think we got hope that price young isn't a bust
Oh, yeah, like a lot of hope the price young is in a bust. Like a lot of hope that Bryce Young is in a bust.
He's gonna be a good football player.
Yeah, he looks much more comfortable
since coming back from the bench
and had a great late touchdown pass
and then just had an unfortunate fumble from Hubbard
and overtime just kinda set the bucks up.
But yeah, he's looked great.
Him and Anthony Rich, I felt like the benching,
seeing the game from a different perspective,
maybe taking some of the weight off of certain things, learning certain things have worked out well for both of them.
But Bryce Young looks like a totally new quarterback.
So obviously first year, still a bunch of holes on that roster, but you can actually
look at the quarterback position and have hope going forward.
Adam Thieland had an unbelievable game.
There's an exciting white down there in Carolina.
That one head catch he had late in the game, I believe was that overtime or fourth quarter? Yeah that was overtime. Nasty so they overturned it.
Stole that TD. Yeah but he was he was unbelievable as well. Eight receptions down
in nine yards Adam Thelen all the way back. Carolina Panthers team maybe they
don't suck. Actually. So is Bryce Young there next year? I mean when they benched
they were saying oh they're gonna have to go get a quarterback and all this
stuff. No I think there he has to be there I think that's what. I mean when they benched a pit they were saying oh they're gonna have to go get a quarterback and All this stuff now. I think there he has to be there. I think
That's what I mean a couple give this to yeah
I mean you you make that type of catch it's right in front of your face just go ahead and say I got it
Right first time good. Don't worry about it. I'll see you later. I
I
Appreciate that they said we're not trading Bryce. This is a part of our plan. Mm-hmm. We're gonna bench him
Mm-hmm, we're gonna let him like breathe maybe
for the first time in his what, whole life?
Just let him breathe.
And then we'll let him watch some stuff,
get him back in there.
And that's why they said they're gonna trade.
We didn't give up on him.
And just like the Indianapolis Colts said,
we're not giving up on Anthony Richardson.
That's how you respond, man.
As a young player, so everybody go through shit.
Whether it's football or not,
but especially in football, everybody's watching,
especially when you're a high pick. And it's a lot, you know, that we can't really
associate with a know what those quarterbacks deal with because
you are a CEO in your early 20s of a multi billion dollar, you
know, franchise. So you got to get out there and play a show
on the field week in and week out. So I'm glad to see this
surprise.
Speaking of Andrew Luck. Yeah pretty cool. That was wild.
I learned about that.
He called me Friday night and said,
hey, tomorrow we're announcing that I'm gonna be
the general manager of the Stanford football program
and I'll be on college game day or whatever.
And I was like, that's awesome.
I had no idea.
We caught up for like 20, 30 minutes.
It was a good conversation about what he's gonna be doing.
He's running that program.
I mean, he is.
He is, he's running that shit.
Coach.
So does he work for the AD or he and AD work together?
How's that go?
I think he reports to school.
Maybe AD, whatever the case is, but he is like,
I don't wanna say football czar is but he is like I don't say football czar
But he is the football operation like and I think that's why Kirk asked him like how hands-on
Are you gonna be like every day like are you gonna be in there?
It's like I think he is gonna be like around like a general manager would be like yeah around
Hey, I think we should maybe try this if he wants to he said he has faith in trust in the coach
He's a part of the hiring process of the coach. So I think he doesn't want to come in immediately just
Cut this guy. Yeah, sure completely off
But I think everybody in Stanford's like Andrew if you're gonna commit your entire being to our football team
We are certainly okay with that
Yeah, cuz in this new world if you're not able to get money give funds or get attention or relevancy
It doesn't matter and it's like I think with what Oliver's been able to do because Oliver's an MLS team he's won a
world he's run a World League team he's run a college team obviously he's run I
forget what else there's another league he ran so he ran up he doing the XFL
XFL I think you ran the NCAA. I mean, like Oliver has like run shit.
So literally his entire life,
Andrew has been a part of functioning and running teams.
Not saying that he is doing it,
but with how smart he is and his dad's there
and he's around it,
I think he has a fucking good grasp on how,
what it's going to take.
And it's like, Stanford is so incredibly lucky.
He signed up to do that.
Now how it goes, I don't know.
I don't know how it goes.
They pump out good athletes.
25 guys in the NFL.
Yeah, they pump out good.
I know he mentioned it's obviously going to be different
in a lot of different programs around
because I think he said the line like best and the brightest,
I'm sure that's what he line.
And obviously the academics play a huge part in that.
But you kind of talked about it
when we talked about just the position of like GMs
and it's probably been a pipeline to the NFL.
Now I don't necessarily see that for Andrew Luck.
I can see it.
Maybe, we'll see.
But I can see him being a GM at Stanford
for 30 years as well.
So I don't see it necessarily for him,
but for this position now on the collegiate level
with all these big time programs.
Now I think a lot of these NFL teams
will kind of be plucking from now
as opposed to hiring a guy that a lot of us
never hear of until they get that opportunity strategy
roster construction negotiations dealing with people scouting recruiting I mean
that's like all the shit he's gonna be doing yeah shit so it's like NFL teams
never had a chance before to see how people have been able to handle it if
you had to do this and everybody's gonna be on the same if you're able to get to the high revenue amount which is the 22% of overall revenue with a cap at 20 whatever million it is
and whatever the process is going to be so if your revenue can get there everybody should be on the
same playing field so you're literally going to be able to find out who can and who can
so for the nfl hiring cycles what a blessing yeah What a very, very good thing to take place.
But for colleges, and I think Andrew's going to have success, but I think there's going to be a
lot of places that are probably going to try to duplicate this and get a GM in there, obviously.
And this person's now a capologist. What if that person's crop? Yeah, then you're screwed.
What if that person is a cropologist and not a copologist?
But you have no idea until what, year three or four, like how do you,
when do you know? And that could set back your shit for a long time if that happens.
That's the difference between the NFL and college is like if you
fuck that up you can set a school back for like five to ten years. Whereas in the NFL you can just
be like, all right well we fucked this up. Let's get rid of a bunch of
these guys. And then maybe we'll hit on a couple guys in the draft and free agency.
Like if you fuck that up in college, like you're talking about being a doormat for several
years.
Listening to coaches that potentially want to gig for the last 24 hours or so. Talk about roster construction and money and things like that. That's a nice added
cool thing that is a weapon if you get somebody. Like if somebody can make do with lower percentage
at the quarterback position, you know, just like the NFL, if you can make do or figure out how to
not spend as much at one position and then what the
reasonable prices are for the other positions at high levels it's like if
you could put together a good roster which you can if you can figure it out
it's like that is a weapon for you now granted you can have some schools that
just have you know a never-ending Oregon organ. Yeah, or how state or
Georgia. Mmm
I don't know. She's throwing out big Texas. Oh
Michigan and yes, you know
Yeah, I state definitely. Yeah for sure. I mean doesn't matter. Yeah
What do you mean? You spend all this fucking money? You can't be a five-and-five mission team, you know, it's like what we doing
I'm not trying to I feel so bad for Ryan day. I really do
Gotta win the game and you cannot look be look at shell shocked after the game like that
If you're him you'd be a bit shell-shocked. I agree. What don't you think you'd find yourself a little bit of a quack my arm? Maybe yeah Yeah, I mean certainly certainly and and he was right to think that way because boom right after the game
I mean, and I would never advocate is just bullshit. Don't fucking do this kind of stuff
But people are releasing his fucking address on Twitter. What? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah fucked up, but you can't be doing that
That's what and so people are wondering why he's yeah exactly at the end of that game. Exactly. He knows that's running through his head
There's somebody that probably sent him an email like two days before the game. Hey, just wanna let you know
No exactly where you fucking yeah, go ahead and lose this one got home had fucking 150 for sale signs in his front yard
People think don't ditching him all night for sale by neighbor. Yeah, exactly
People diggong ditching him all night for sale by name. Yeah exactly
In his house not by owner. Yeah, not by realtor first sale by
Columbus, Ohio cheese
If you're by the hell in your mind,
yeah, the devil even knows you're there.
Basically, Ryan Day's in hell right now.
What if he just keeps on going?
Going then, that day.
The devil might not even know he's there.
Yeah, true.
The neighbors do.
But he might be able to get to that brightest dawn after the darkest day
Right or tuck tail and go to the NFL say fuck this shit either way
I come in my entire life to and I can't even get ice cream. No, I can't even go get ice cream
No ice cream because the person at the ice cream store said you'd be Michigan. Maybe you can get fucking two scoops
Even door dash
Delivering to Ryan Day. Oh my god. Watch this. No door dash is still door dash
Your fry cup instead of fries because it says Ryan D
The messages that could be written on bags
Yeah, we found that out
Honest a lot of shit freaking me out lately people just showed up my house that freaks me out
People right on my fucking bags coming in door dash that freaks me out
Like so, you know, it's so
So what's oh
Like that, I don't like that.
It's always nice things though, right?
Yeah, but then that could be...
On the other side.
And I'm from Pittsburgh, so that's my first thought.
People out here in Indiana,
great people out here.
My first thought is, I don't like the thought that
anybody knows that this is my drink.
And then immediately afterwards, it's like
I'm drinking a fucking Lube expresso right now.
You in spit in this or what?
You guys spit in this fucking drink?
No, we like you, we just set it on the back.
All right, good, you good people.
Thank you. You sure?
I'm gonna pull four Splendors in to cover up your spit.
Thank you so much.
It's a great time to be alive.
We have hit a wild point of being alive.
Not complaining, lucky to be here, thankful to be here.
But boy, trying to go to Cavender's, get a bucket,
and it's like, hey, how you doing?
And I'm gonna talk to every person
because I like to learn stuff, it's how I learn stuff.
People are way too nice, people say too much to me.
I learn too much about people too quickly.
People are just sharing everything with me.
I'm like, oh, fuck.
All right, well it's very nice to meet you.
Thank you so much. Like watching our show, like people watch our show just sharing everything with me. I'm like, oh fuck. All right, well it's very nice to meet you.
Thank you so much.
Like watching our show, like people watch our show
and then I'll get a story from everybody
that watches the program and like everything it does.
And it's like super like cool and like very emotional.
And it's like, man, I just wanna hug this person.
And then, you know, very nice to meet you.
Can we take a photo?
Yes, we'd love to take a photo, anything else you need. And then all of a sudden you look up and it's like, all right, very nice to meet you. Can we take a photo? Yes, we'd love to take a photo.
Anything else you need.
And then all of a sudden you look up
and it's like, all right, here we go.
Here's no, and the story that's coming right behind it
is like so real.
And it's like, golly man.
I didn't know that our dumb ass is actually,
we affect people's lives.
You know that.
That's not good.
We affect people's lives.
Like very much so.
Wow.
You win one of those giveaways
I got a little taste of what your mentions probably look like on a daily basis
Do people or so people really invested in the show? That's what I learned people all the way College Station, Texas
Way the fuck down there by the way, Texas is far second trip down there
Texas far it's pretty big state
Second trip down there
Texas far it's pretty big state
Huge so big and if you have a plane that doesn't have like a thing that tells you where you're at yours in time capsule Yeah, and then when the time zone changes, you don't know if your phone's right or what's right?
Oh, yeah, so you don't know what time it actually is. Have we been in here an hour or three hours at all?
Oh, I did not have some sure how many times we heard this one song because we can only play ten songs. So when I
How have we you know, so you start doing that math and then get all the way down there and
Then you meet people that just like come up to you like thank you for your show and they'll say stuff about you
Con I hear stories, but all it's it's really cool. We're lucky to this fuck to do this now that being said
Let's make our picture
I'm one in three ages two and two hmm the line is back to six and a half
Oh D butch who do you like how do you like it uh you know what every six and a
half Broncos everything in me tells Broncos Bo Bo Nix is playing phenomenal, defense is great,
but I just feel like that's probably three too many points
for Jameis Winston, he is a wild card,
and anytime everybody's against him,
he kinda shows up and puts a thorn in everybody's side.
So I'm gonna go Jameis Winston and the Browns,
they cover against the Broncos who win in a close, close,
very meaningful game for them.
I can't wait until he does a speech
Tonight that is a take on a speech that everybody is hurt. Mm-hmm
Like lights not about the lights. It's not about the camera. It's not about the action, but it is about the action
I like that
What if tonight's like good for the goose good for a gander take? I mean, there's just so many different things
Yeah
I kind of wish that we could wait to hear what speech Jamis has given before making this pick. And since
it's a primetime game, we're going to hear everything and see everything that Jamis does
tonight. Oh yeah. And shout out to us for getting to do that. Thank God. That's part
of the body. He doesn't even have a clue what he's going to say. Nope. That's why whenever he thinks of it. Fucking home run. Got it. He's elf. He's a quarterback.
Yes. That is a phenomenal place to be for all of us.
He likes the bronze plus six and a half. AJ, who do you like?
Man, I do love Jamis. I love everything about him, but I am
taking the Brocko's here tonight to win by a touchdown or more.
Okay, I'll take the bronze plus six and a half. Worked last time. goes here tonight to win by a touchdown or more. Ooh. Okay.
I'll take the bronze plus six and a half.
Worked last time.
It did.
What, you don't want them?
Do you want the bronze?
No, but a lot of times this, like I,
the points usually come back to get me.
When I do, when I take teams, you know,
with this many points.
That's against the Sprats.
That's the point of the segment, yeah.
That's what handicap in the game.
Yeah, I know, that's what I'm saying.
It's like a waffle. You want bronze plus six and a half or. That's what handicap in the game. Waffley, they say. Yeah, I know.
That's what I'm saying.
You want Browns plus six and a half or no?
No, I want the Broncos minus six and a half, and I'm confident that they're going to do
it.
Yeah, didn't sound like confidence.
Going against Ohio.
Oh, especially with what just happened with Michigan.
They're planting flags.
That's pretty messed up.
You want the Browns?
Yeah, I'll take the Broncos.
Okay.
I did think he was going with the Browns right there.
I was like, oh, I'm on the Broncos all of a sudden.
Thought we got them.
He's a big Bernie Kozart fan growing up, but I'll take the Broncos.
I'm going to take the Broncos. I'm going to take the Broncos. I'm going to take the Broncos. I'm going to take the Broncos. I'm going to take the Broncos Okay, I did think he was going with the Browns I was like, oh I'm on the Broncos all so we got a big Bernie Kozar fan growing up
But you know, I'll take the Broncos. Not that big
Okay, I'll take Jim Brown in the bronze. There you go. Plus six and a half and the Miz. Let's see what the fuck the Miz is doing
Test of Earth. Yeah, what's the Miz doing? He's playing golf
Let's see. Is he a scratch golfer yet? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah doll before the ball is hit. Yeah. Yep. Looks great
Then once the ball's hit
We're 152 great swing
I've never seen but it was such a good swing that hits the ball so terrible and set up to swing set up conversation
strategy
Everything he does a green jacket in all those categories
All the throughs. All of it.
Everything he does.
A green jacket in all those categories.
That's probably why it takes too long.
I think bad karma should come to people who take too long to golf.
Have you seen the Miz golf?
You might be onto something.
I've heard about it.
It's made its way to you?
Yeah, I've heard.
I've heard.
So that happened the first time Miz was in the tournament.
We were in the tent afterwards and I had bruised heels and toes.
I just walked a golf course for the first time in my fucking life
Okay, sit down. I'm tired
I think AJ comes over because he had done the par three contest. Mm-hmm, and he said boy the Miz is pissed off everybody
And then he goes I go what do you mean he goes he does the setup deal and AJ obviously being AJ doesn't really describe it
and they said as soon as he got to the middle of it
Who the guy that hosts the that one game show Anthony Anderson Anthony Anderson? Yeah goes every shot
This is what right didn't you say that that's what he did
Yeah, when everyone's like yeah
It's the closest to the pin everyone is surrounding them is on the tee box as he's doing this whole take away his little thing
And Anthony Anderson goes ever as I was with this guy today.
And then I think, I think Charles Barkley said something.
We heard Charles Barkley say something.
So I'm just sitting in this tent and the Miz is coming back
cause he needs to work on his six iron or something.
So what'd he say?
He was coming back to the range
cause he needed to work on his six iron
because of the round that he had.
And I just said like one thing, I said like,
heard you're the worst golfer to ever play with
and he stops, who told you that?
Is everybody talking about this?
He was worried.
He was, it was awesome.
I'm like, yeah, everybody heard.
I heard everybody's talking about it.
But who specifically?
Cause I need to know who all is talking about this
because I don't think, yeah, I set up. And then he goes on a full-on and every once in a while
I'm trying to hit a fade like obviously we know he can't he has no idea he's
just trying to hit the ball is what he's trying to do but he thinks he's Phil
Mickelson and that's Miz football one day will be one day will just the full-on
the fuck yeah moving of the hands I said a nice swing
though no beautiful it's a great-looking sweet for real though I okay you played
with the Miz however many years ago and I you guys posted some clips I said man
the did the Miz shoot par because it only showed his swing in his
follow-through but then you guys were like no absolutely not I had to see a
week before or two weeks before the American Century Championship out there
The Miz was driving through Indianapolis because there was like a show in Cincy and then a show in Chicago and
It was like let's golf in the morning. If you're gonna be in Indianapolis. I love I love golf
We're gonna be playing at Tahoe together or whatever and then we he was there the first person there in the morning
He's at the driving range and he's just a m his getup looks awesome
So I'm like, oh the Miz must be a player
He must be a stick and I see a swing
I'm like this guy's gonna be get a golf and then we got out there and it was he was the worst golf
I've never seen anybody like his swing for real deep
But though his swing looks good
Like, you know a lot of people like their swing looks like garbage and the Miz's swing is beautiful
I can finish like everything he does is what golf is supposed to be
Yeah, like every and he knows and the reason why we know that he knows is because before every shot. Mm-hmm
He talks through what like a good golfer would and should do so him and his caddy who that guy
He's never be around again. He's part of the problem. Yeah, he's the one who fuel in the fire
He's like, yeah, I'm a draw and try this his buddy, right?
He's doing this he's doing this number
Yeah, if I hit it just like this and then I think I landed on the fringe and then it should trickle down
He's like a hundred
They're talking through their shots as we're waiting to hit they're talking through it before he's even addressing the ball
He's on shot for we're on shot three the way up there the amount of times last year
We're like he was laying four or five and you and AJ were up at the green
But you kind of just had to wait for him. I mean it that round took like eight hours. It never ends
minus 18
This a little faster I think
Look how good that swing looks.
Look how good that swing is.
Pretty good, right?
Hold it, hold it in posture.
Boom!
See, that's best shot of day.
Maybe a flight.
Look, that's why he's doing that.
That's why he's doing that.
So pumped.
Yeah, I'm telling you.
That was a celebration for that.
Yes, exactly.
Yes, yes, yes.
I'm telling you.
About 30 foot put?
Oh yeah, he made it probably.
I mean, the Miz is alive. Yes. I'm telling you 30 Yeah, he made it probably I mean the miz is part of the lives problem, but we saw so problems
He's doing all that setup. Mm-hmm. Oh that setup all the talk that fucking caddy
I've never he's probably a good guy Chad's music
Miss I think has a two and a half hour range session before he's even put
That caddy has to sit there the entire time the patience on that caddy in belief in that caddy
It is something that I will hope to have someday with some but like something
Well double bogeys the worst score you can get in that tournament and to not have the etiquette to be like all right
I'm gonna get a triple and a whatever and just pick up my ball and keep it moving
He doesn't do that. He's hitting five from 125 yards out. Yeah
He duffs it now. He's hitting five from 125 yards out. Yeah. He duffs it.
He duffs it.
Now he's hitting six.
Gotta make this for max score from 120 out.
Still talking through the whole thing.
Change club, change club.
Yeah, we need a different club.
Give him a wedge.
That's the worst.
Last time I tried to come in from this.
I need to fucking come in from this.
Yeah, I need to hit a draw this time.
Yeah, you're right.
Let's hit a draw.
Let's close the hips a little bit
Let's fucking make sure we get through it. Remember we're trying to get hips clear before
Yeah, yeah aim at that tree there. Okay, which one the third the third tree?
I think that's probably the right place and then you draw it up in there should go in you run up there time about the
undulation for a fucking double and I'm like Miz I love you
I think you're one of the most entertaining people of all time but like
what Anthony Anderson and Charles Barkley said about you people are
dreading getting paired with you for this entire thing everything is after
the golf but then he got a birdie got a birdie out of nowhere okay couple
he screamed so loud after that birdie the whole golf course heard him he was
in last place I believe for the after the day golf course heard him. He was in last place. I believe for the for after the day one
Really? I think he's been in last place every single time. He's RG 3 RG 3
Yeah, yeah, and then Don Cheadle actually WD withdraw. Yeah first day. Who's that Dylan Dreier? I think yeah weather
person for
NBC
She was that she loves golf, but she was down there RG 3 was down there and then the Miz and then
And the Miz I'm calling we got to get his dick. He's gonna be so mad
I've gotten better at golf. I'll have you know. Oh, yeah for sure. He lives on a golf course
I mean he still believes that they got a chance the Browns just won didn't tell you that yeah
Yeah, before the game. Yeah, before the game after the game. Yeah
All right, forget him. Let's go through some reactions. Oh no
Oh no, is he there?
I'm just facetiming another person in the facetime list. Yep. Sam. Oh, ha Sam. I'll know what a treat me to facetime
Sam ask Kayla. Yeah
That was a coach
Who just got a call?
What the fuck?
I did it.
I did it.
Pack up, buddy.
I do not have a say.
I would like everybody to know I do not have that say.
But I do have, I think I do have say.
They want your back.
I think there's an opinion.
I think there is an opinion, which is very nice and very
cool.
And I would like talk shit for West Virginia more than anybody
on earth.
That'd be cool in one of these.
And on Saturday, if you see everybody else on the table
has their team to talk about.
Except for one person, you go,
mathematically, you're still, that's every week.
Hey, just wanna let you know.
And then Colorado wins and mathematically,
we got no more shots so then I have to say,
mathematically eliminated yesterday, West Virginia. But Oh boy with everything that West Virginia has there's shot
No doubt so they were out when they lost by 50 on Saturday
They're already out. Yeah, Colorado's wind knocked us out who beat him Texas Tech. Yeah. Yeah, they're minus two and a half
Texas Tech's had a sneaky good year
They have been good all your covering machines good team walk. Yeah They're minus two and a half Texas Tech's had a sneaky good year Nobody's talked about it
They have been good all year
Covering machines
Good team
Absolutely locked
Yeah
West Virginia football is absent a head coach right now
The search goes on
Ren Baker, good luck, bub
Go get him, Ren
They did make a bow game though, right?
That's right
Interim head coach will be the offense coordinator
Who's been there for a long time excited watch him do not picture Cabral
Don't know how Cabral didn't get chose or Blaine Stewart
But I believe both of those men say this guy's the right guy for the job. Okay gonna win the ballgame
Victor she gets all you would have his head on to him. I am undefeated as a
Coach spring game my team won now in the fourth quarter during one of the final drives
I did have to go take a dump. So one of the biggest decisions
There was made I was not there for
Joe like old Joe
Had figured out whether or not we wanted to go for it. We're up a certain way. Did you make this isn't it?
You're going in okay. This is this isn't waiting till the end of the game. I didn't make that decision brothers
Something else did you know something else did but again, the boys made the right decision.
That's what a good coach does.
You look natural in that position right there.
Thank you so much.
And you know, anybody that's ever been around me in any sporting event, these refs fucking
knew my voice.
It did not matter if this was a spring game or not.
I felt like our team was getting fucked a little bit.
We had four penalties called against us.
The other team had none.
And it was like, excuse me, I know this all fun and games. Okay. This is not how this is gonna go
Okay, just wanna let you know into their credit
They got a little bit more fair towards the end sure a little bit more fair towards it
And that's all we can ask for but yes, I am undefeated as a head ball club coach at West Virginia
And I am not signing up to be a college football coach.
Okay.
Ever.
Fair enough.
Just put that one down.
Okay.
Maybe one day, GM, that would be sick.
GM would be a sweet job.
Just to see if you're good at it or not.
Yeah.
Like that'd be something like,
you don't get a lot of opportunities to run a team.
I mean, once they did it.
With college ball, there's like opportunities. Yeah, a left the left the yeah for the bodies via gym. Yeah and
Remember he couldn't even shower. No, correct
What is like a best or shit now? He's the general manager of a college basketball team
So i'm sure it slowed down a little bit more so than whenever he was an insider and had to be on top of it
But at some point in my life, maybe GM of a team sweet college team or just an NFL team
Somebody just wants to give me the old Jeff Saturday. No, I'd be sweet. I'd be cool, too
Yeah, let this guy be a GM of the team. Why not? Yeah, I managed a couple hundred million dollar salary cap
Figure out strategy. I know your fantasy teams on a roll. So we are no big deal. Don't look now watch hard knocks
I know your fantasy teams on a roll. So we are no big deal. Don't look now watch hard knocks that you could have those
I think so too. Yeah, that actually gave me just so we're all clear. Yeah watching hard knocks. I was like
Wait a minute. Hmm. I can surround myself with people that know ball
Better than this guy. No
No, no, no, I don't know what gm contracts look like no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, There was like escalators I think because uh sig just got the upgrade to eight I believe if I remember correctly yeah, cuz there's eight sixty four five year thirty four Deon twenty nine point five to be exact Is there any escalators in that or is that was that the first deal he signed?
I'm just looking at the bonuses now. Yeah, cuz I think there was like ticket bonuses revenue bonuses
I think everything was worked in what if his son is just tweeted out another bonus
He just hit I think for winning nine game. Yeah, and he came out and said that his guys will be playing a bowl game as well. Yeah, huge news
All right bonus big
Yeah winning the bowl game. Yeah, it's probably a big deal. But also he was saying, you know, some of these programs have been sent back
Years because they opted out of the bowl game. So he was talking directly about Florida State. Absolutely directly about it and I think a lot of us who invest a lot of time in a college ball
and want to keep some of these bowl games actually a little mean something
I'm happy he said it yeah I'm very great to hear I think so too and he's got what
two top five guys on his team mm-hmm 600 K and bonuses just this season alone
Did is that in win success is their ticket revenue shit in there or no?
It's just big 12 and wins in the big 12 and bowl game here
I think cuz I thought there was a negotiation about like I
Thought I remember hearing that early on maybe last year
yeah, cuz suddenly and they didn't have the money to pay him what the deal was anyway, so like then it became a
Percentage of earned like I wonder what West Virginia's gonna have to pay the next coach.
Six, seven, four.
Billion?
I don't want to actively negotiate against West Virginia right now.
But probably gonna have to pay somebody.
It depends if that's their first gig or not?
I know a lot of times if it's the first gig it may be no four and a half five
But if it's somebody coming back that has a name that's been around it may be seven and are they gonna hire a GM?
I wonder
I'm a face. I'm gonna fuck at a ren Baker tonight. Don't have this add so much shit into his world
He's in the middle of it. He obviously in West Virginia liked Neil Brown. Good guy.
I think everybody agrees, good dude.
Good human. Represented West Virginia in a classy way.
Never spoke out of pocket about anything.
Always gave credit to the other team,
which was seemingly every week whenever they lost.
Credit to this team, credit to this team,
credit to this team, credit to this team.
Super good guy.
Montages. Of him saying credit to the other team he to this team, credit to this team, credit to this team, like super good guy. Montages.
Of him saying credit to the other team,
he won like super good dude.
I think.
Could be on 10.
We're five and five, did you have fun or not?
Like, you know, like tried to be good guy.
Which we're, I think the people had personal relationship
with him, obviously bummed out about the whole process.
But it's like, could be a huge move for the whole fucking state not just school
Not just college football, but that entire state if West Virginia's humming that whole state is you know?
Feeding off of it. Go ahead Neil's making four years though. So that's probably around where we're left be four and a half
Yeah, the highest paid in the big 12 is mr. Gundy now
He's been there for 18 years and he's at close to eight. Okay
So four million four and a half million
How many years of these deals normally five?
How many years we have Neil we owed Neil like what nine nine something
Depends who they hire your D bus right like a young guy that young up-and-comery might have to give you know to get
A little cheaper. Yeah, two and a half. What do you want to hire? I wonder what Dan landings first contract was at Oregon
Yeah
He was a member he drove where from Arizona all the way to Pittsburgh. Yeah. Yeah, thanksgiving or something
What the story is? Yep. His wife was pregnant or something living out of his car. Yeah. Yeah, that guy loves wall
Yeah, looks like Dan's making around a year. Yeah, how much did he make?
Do we can you do that? Was it like five to start?
I think something like that rock see if grok can go find that grok will dig up some old news article
This one in August 22nd this year salary increases from 4.7 to 7 and then he got another extension
I think this year so and who all want to do everybody wanted him. Yeah, you get some nice
Honours to making the Big Ten Championship 11 win 12 wins hey if you
win why not yeah make the college football playoff gotta have an NIL with
you too even with the salary cap stuff like the NIL stuff's gonna matter oh
yeah gonna matter oh absolutely most important I should have in Michigan
yes Wow Wow yeah the names involved well Well, yeah go away. But yeah, that money's very deep. Yes
Everyone owns an island that one the the money that was getting involved there. Yeah owns Lenny
Which is one of the islands of Hawaii. He bought it just bought the island
I'll take it
Yeah, but if he's not if he if he goes through a breakup then
he's not a Michigan backer anymore we're obviously not hoping for that you know
we love love I'm sure never bad having a guy around who just like wipe his ass
with a hundred million dollars and whatever and then you had portmullion in
the mix yeah mm-hmm they got in then Michigan has all these people we've never heard of. Michigan has a whole Tom Brady.
Tom was the third name.
Yeah.
Tom Brady calling kids.
You're saying that's what I'm saying.
West Virginia has an opportunity here to do something special.
Ain't that right?
AJ.
That is right.
You can pay, you put a squad together, you can win the big 12.
How come you guys don't want to schedule this?
Oh, I stayed.
I wouldn't need.
I'm sure they've tried.
Sure.
I want West Virginia in the big 10. I think, I think WVU should be in the big 10. Why don't you give a call? Why don't you and the general go ahead and march up there to the Pesadians office.
I guess you guys wouldn't let us in right? Whenever we were up. I heard from every conference
why they wouldn't let us in. Yeah, just looking at the program. We figured you know what?
Let's get Maryland football in here instead. They've showed us a little bit more recently it's not just about the on
the field it's what all these conference said yeah public ivies you know that's
what they all say Rutgers I guess their academia is a little bit better in West
Virginia well Rutgers are trying to capture the New York market so you see
yeah they brought in Shiana they got did beat the shit out of Michigan State then the season who did it?
We're a hockey school though number one in the nation in hockey Wow wins the frozen for Paul pretty far away actually
And the March
Okay, April. I love that. Um, all right, let's do some overreaction. Shall we? Uh, every Monday of the football season
I'll put out a post on X. I'll say hey listen
I'd like to hear where your NFL fandom emotions are at. I'd like to hear your thoughts on
Your team use it as therapy. Don't feel like you're gonna get judged
No, no, the best ones in Taj Schmidt size will actually make the program all you got to do is use the today got all the way up to number two on the trending page of
the United States of X right behind hunter obviously it is hunting season and
a lot of part of the United States of America so also pardon season. You saw the two, right? Yeah. Like flea and peach. Yeah.
Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Pardon. He's in Hunter. Obviously Tim Max. We go a big buck.
This week on top of that guy on top of that thing. No, no, that was in Indiana.
He always got more. That was a different one. He knows scope some, uh,
a buck here in Indiana. And then, uh,
different yeah he no scopes some a buck here in Indiana and then he walked in the 17 fucking mountains at 4 a.m. in Pennsylvania and his old hunting spot
with his old buddy Tim you know and yeah he got a buck I think a nice shot so
that's why we couldn't get the number one because all the hunters out there in
the woods hunting over a million tweets about hun. That's right. A lot of them
And good congrats to those two turkeys getting pardoned that has to feel so good So yeah, think about that you come right out of the turkey farm and you see all these other fucking turkeys
Mm-hmm. So you're dead. You're dead. You did what I did. You're dead. You did what I did
You're dead you if if you were to do what I'm about to do dead
But instead those turkeys walk right up there present violence like
Did see some people saying the survivor guilt on those two turkeys are gonna take them to the grave anyway
No, I don't think these two turkeys have the ability to do that. I don't need to worry about 15 minutes after that
They're getting their fucking heads cut off anyway
15 minutes after that they're getting their fucking heads cut off anyway
You pardon you from the first wave of killing and then at like 6 30 p.m. I think you're some turkey man real sons of bitches. I just part cut their heads off
No, that's not how part is deep frying. I got deep from on the White House stuff. No, that isn't those turkeys are a-okay
Why we pardon these dogs? I think you have ten-year old turkeys too. I think and they just say you're good. You're good
So congrats to those turkeys. Yep
Anyways number two overall training United States hashtag. I don't want to react to but
Stive into them this one's from tongue digs hashtag. I don't want to react to but the Bengals defense might be the worst unit
I've ever seen they're like the cocaine of the NFL
But NFL offense needs a little pick-me-up just head to Cincy for four quarters and do a little bump
That little bump is the tune of 414 passing yards for us
Over 500 yards of offense for Arthur Smith and Pittsburgh Steelers something that hasn't happened in Pittsburgh since what?
Ben Roethlisberger was kind of manning that offense and they were the triple B's or the killer B's or whatever it was
Tom Diggs, what'd you mean by this particular tweet and are you overreacting as a man that was actually there live in person?
Yeah, Ben did it five times Tommy gun Tommy Maddox did it one time Russ joins that illustrious crew and I may be overreacting
I don't know because the you know, the the Chiefs beat him by by one the Ravens beat him by one and three
You know and some people on TV after those wins were like,
oh my God, these teams are the greatest teams ever.
But when Russ and the Steelers to put 414 up
over 500 yards total,
it's just a piss poor Bengals defense.
Now I was there in person.
They're fucking horrendous.
That's one of the worst units I've ever seen.
But it's an NFL unit and the boys were rolling.
They made no mistakes.
I mean, yeah, Russ threw the pick six, but could have been a power was early. They responded no punts. They looked awesome
It was unbelievable because you know why that last year's team against this Bengals defense same Bayles defense would have it would have been a
They would have they would have lost 33 13 or 9 7 or 9 7. Yes, correct
But yeah, but no this team different Russ by the way
Second in yards per game since he's started and they are six in points per game since he's a starter
So nice time to remind everybody that coach Tomlin decided to put Russell Wilson as the starting quarterback over Justin Fields after Justin Fields
Had won some games. There was a lot of people that weren't necessarily thrilled with that
What has happened since then is an unlocking of an Arthur Smith offense that is fun to watch now
The hell's going on Lou Anne rumo boys in Cincinnati AJ and who's the person on TV that tone digs is talking about you think?
I believe well, I just know that tone digs been going back and forth with our with Dano
I don't know if they've they patched things up
You're taking shots at each other on the internet personal, okay
You guys are taking shots. Yeah, you're taking shots at each other on the internet personal, okay
Okay, he said something about you well No, well kind of the Steelers played the Ravens and he said, you know
You can't beat the Ravens just kick him field goals and was talking about the offense which whatever you say on TV
That's fine
I completely agreed with him and and whatever you say on TV because I say stupid stuff on TV all the time
That's fine. Okay, but then Thursday night against the Browns
Steelers loss and soon as that clock hit zeros
He hit the he sent the night night Steph Curry gift and I took that personal because that was a personal attack at all
Steelers fans it that wasn't just him on TV talking about Steelers office. Yeah, put that in his hand. Yep
At night in his bed. Yeah
Yeah, he said this team fucked his fan base. We all took that personal
So yesterday was a little bit of get back. Is he gonna be right in the end?
Probably but yesterday was one of them nice little victories. It wasn't just you as jade's to write his jade
You know really went after it. Yeah, he also said after Lamar, you know played the Bengals and did well
He was you know best quarterback of all time, but you know Ross does it he stinks
So it's okay to say you're wrong sometimes Dan
We've been wrong a lot about a tweet Morgan Wallen did not offer up five hundred thousand dollars for the volunteer fans
Fake tweet
That's all me completely. What a fucking dipshit of course
Morgan Wallen wouldn't put up a half a million dollars. Hey break the law. He's in the middle of some shit
He is why would the fuck would he do that? I read that on my phone as I was walking up
to the thing. I'm like, hell yeah. Another reason to mention fucking Morgan, fucking
wall and Anna picking bandy. So this is going to be, this is going to be perfect. I sent
it out there, nailed it. Let's go to the next pick. I wake up yesterday text brother I did not offer up that was a
fake oh my god I'm so sorry I hope I didn't get you in any trouble with that
whole thing but you gotta watch what's real and what's fake out there yeah it's
hard to know I got got it yet again it's getting tough out in these three you see
the Manchester Airport or what no you guys didn't see this what happened? Well, I don't know if it's real or fake
But there's a glowing orb sitting no way
No, no, no call back up. This one was right above the
What's the the runway? It was like floating off the ground all the planes had to stop
Glob, huh? No, no, no, no
And like the planes had to stop I still don't know what sounds go I'll go kick this thing no community notes
That's this what?
Yeah, that's it
If all the planes are shut down we need better picture that's the thing right there
Yeah, and then it just came down to the runway and was just sitting down and they had to like hold planes
I still don't know if it's real. It's Manchester, England. Yeah, Manchester, England. Yep. Can we is there any more?
It's like a pinata. There's one that that is not a real video. I don't believe
That's like a rendering. That's a real photo rendered. What are we the rendering?
So this thing just dropped down like a round drone Bingo
that that ain't what me and Foxy saw me and Foxy saw a yeah like a
Orange glow yeah, but maybe that's what it looks like during the day
Yeah, we saw a nighttime thing right you see it come down from the sky. No, there's no video that
What did it just take off again, or what they go pick it up
It looks like an exercise. Did it just take off again or what?
Did they go pick it up?
I still haven't presented.
And then he said, all right, whatever the fuck it was
is now out of our airspace.
Back to your regular schedule program.
You are number 84 in line for takeoff.
Go ahead and buckle up.
We're in for a long one.
And hopefully we don't see any more UFOs.
Yeah, no community notes.
So again, I don't know.
Hey, there's a lot of that coming up. There's Tom's stuff happening, yeah. We want to shake their heads. Community notes. So again, I don't know. Hey
There's Tom stuff happening, you know
Sure, what do I know and if they're not little thing too, I'll go shake the little fuck
It's up you little fucking thing
My name's Pat these boys seeing the a gap we're here to talk about your sports
Yeah, if we were to Oklahoma drill with you, we would fucking murder you. Okay, what can you bring to us? And then what if they pop up some sport? That's just amazing. It's like
Then we gotta beat him at their game. That's right. Yeah, and what happens if they can shape we bring it in Tyler
We're bringing a path and Tyler
And he's gonna beat you in your own goddamn game
When purple hoser definitely needs be there Good vibes tall guy was sweet twins to twins need one of the twins was one
I want that
That was the least that was the last thing I ever expected from
From dude perfect. Yeah, I don't want that. I miss it
That's awesome
Alright, let's get some over reactions. This one's's from Josh Gilbert. Hashtag I don't ever react
But the Falcons are dead can't walk into a trap much less protect their own
Kirk no change has been abysmal the last few weeks raw not him
Morris looks lost at times boo birds were lied yesterday might be time time for Penix and new coaches in the ATL. Holy shit.
The only birds down in Atlanta are the boo birds they said.
Fuck the Hawks. Fuck the Falcons. Fuck this team. That's what the fans are saying already. Four picks will get the boys buzzing.
Mm-hmm. That'll get- Yes it will. That'll get the boys buzzing. Especially with Penix sitting there. I'm excited to see how raw, not him, more of that.
I know.
That's not his name.
That's messed up.
Cause that was the best game defense played all year.
Yeah, he's raw him, I think.
When it comes to certain things.
You think they figure it out, the Falcons?
Or you think they're on a one way trip to poop time?
Oh no.
I think they figured it out.
I like her.
But if they don't, like Penickics in a game or two could be in there
They're still gonna be in it. So what do you start up? I'm saying that's what's crazy cuz is a baker
Yeah, but Kirk back in Minnesota this weekend. They're not taking them out
Daniel Jones on the practice squad we knew that
But what they have to move him up here soon because otherwise someone else can
claim him. No, they don't have to move them up.
You can sign someone active to your practice squad. Can I steal them?
If I want him active on my team. Yeah. He would just have to decide.
Remember this just like the kicker from the jets on the practice squad chiefs
off from a job and they go, he could have stayed with the jets.
It said he goes to Kansas City. No doy.
But like that's a decision I think.
Like practice squad is basically free agency,
but you're on assigned to a team.
Like you're in a building.
So like him getting accustomed to the building
and the offense and everything like that.
But I'm interested in how many other offers were there?
And was there any active roster offers, practice squad?
It's a lot of vets have been doing
his practice squad thing since COVID though.
Remember they opened up the practice squad rules
during COVID.
So now you got a lot of vets on practice squads
around the league.
And it's almost like a tryout period for some guys too.
Not Daniel Jones, obviously he was just on a team,
a starter a few weeks ago.
Tom Brady was not happy about that.
No, not at all.
Did you hear that age?
What happened? Tom Brady was not happy about that. No, not at all. Did you hear that age? What happened?
Tom Brady was just like,
he went back to his time at Michigan when he wasn't playing.
And he was like, if they want me to be a practice squad,
safety practice, what quarterback,
I'll do whatever for my team, you know,
especially with how much the Giants have given Daniel Jones.
He was talking about the amount of money.
Yeah, invested in him.
That invested in him and gave him,
he said, I just want to have done it that way.
And obviously that blew up because it was like
Tom Brady speaking about a situation
that is very pertinent to the largest city
in the United States of America and this whole thing.
But that was fascinating take from Tom.
I did, I'm like, I didn't expect that
from a former player to say that about a player currently.
And I think we all kind of just were like,
all right, Daniel Jones did a sign off. See you later.
We're not going to do this entire thing.
I was kind of like, I thought his apology was good.
I thought his message was good.
I think I thought he took accountability.
And then the greatest of all time is like, yeah, they're giving this guy 160 million
bucks and they don't want to play you because you're and you're just like, get me out of
here.
I don't know.
That was just fascinating.
He's old school, old school. But then the way people frame it is,
Raiders owner, owner of team, Tom Brady,
hates player requesting release.
Like that's how people can frame kind of everything.
And that kind of takes on a life of its own.
But nonetheless, I'm excited to see Pettix Donner.
Yes.
In how many years?
Kirk finishes the season, don't you? He Still owe Kirk a lot of money. Oh yeah. I think four years, 100 guaranteed. I bet Kirk, if he was
asked to be practice squad safety against Penick's, he would. Oh yeah. Really? He'd light people up.
He'd light people up. I don't know about that. Throw his head around. You don't think so?
No, I don't think so. You think zero zero chance. He wasn't he didn't love the pick
What it yeah, well, he's saying you're surprised by the thing. Yeah, he said he didn't know what's happening
I don't think he said anything about not loving it and that's kind of normal
You know for a guy thing they moved Daniel Jones like what fourth on a depth chart after they benched him
So it's only so many bodies injured on the roster
So he was probably standing there free safety in a walkthrough or something just like Baker what was he DN? Yeah, Carolina.
A few years ago Carolina.
So yeah, you know Baker young still trying to find his way in the league get another opportunity
You're gonna pretty much do anything that they actually do. That's probably what Tom felt about Daniel
He felt like hey, you you haven't done shit this whole time
You got paid, you know keep earning your keep but um, yeah, I get I get Tom's, you know frame
He's old school. He is in Michigan
He was whatever on the depth chart when he came to New England
I think he talks about all the time
He was fourth fifth on a depth chart kind of earned his way up and you got to think how long did it take Tom
Brady to start making you know 15 20 25 however many million dollars at the position
So he was one of those quarterbacks that kind of took the league to a point where these guys can make
56 million dollars a year so definitely get it
But I don't think Kirk Cousins at this point is signing up for that right now
Yeah, and Daniel Jones whenever he did it. I had no qualms with it. I don't think any of us had any qualms
Nope. I didn't even think about like this guy owes him. Not at all, but I appreciate the Tom Brady's like, you know what about this
I have anything he says is gonna be be like that whole angle of owner,
mad at plate. It's like, Oh, owner critiques,
refs owner critiques, owner critiques style owner. Like that,
it does add a whole nother element now that he is part owner of that Raiders
to you.
Yeah. And he can do half of his like the broadcasting job because of it.
When there's some report, I might be wrong. I'm not doing it again.
We're more desensitized to it too. We see collegiate level, high schools, people leave high,
go to three or four different high schools, college, you go to three different colleges,
like so we see it so much now that we kind of get used to players. Like at some point, you know,
you call your dad and tell him, hey, I'm fourth in the depth chart. I might get, my dad probably
hang up the phone like figure it out. You know, you went up there, you sounded levitant. Wow, there's three people better than you in your own position probably hang up the phone like figure it out you know you went up to you sounded like a tip three people
better than you your own position yeah figure it out at one school there's
three people are to barely think about the whole country probably sick of like
the New York media too it's like hey no matter what I do here people are gonna
talk about it like I can go to Minnesota where there's probably like five media
people practice squad you can just get the fuck out of here he's not even on I
mean he's practice squad right now
Yeah, probably loving it. Oh god kidding me. They're gonna cut his ass anyway. Oh, yeah, I could fucking be the fourth string
You know like practice squad safety or I can fucking go be on a playoff team
Bye bye, New York Vikings are number two team in the league with one score wins, seven. Mm. Yearly similar to a couple years back with this Vikings.
I didn't like those Vikings fans booing yesterday.
Yeah, was it 23-6?
It's like, okay, if I told you at the start of the year you lose Kirk, your first round
pick quarterback blows his knee out, and you're nine and two, what would you say?
Well, Gumps, that's a good perspective, but they start booing down there.
Oh yeah.
I thought I wouldn't get it because I'm not a Minnesota.
Well, I think they were actually trying to do that.
And then they were all going to do this, but it didn't get to the end of the it just boom.
They came back though.
They did.
How about that Viking Steve? Card cardinal scene are we wondering now no
Yeah, they're still in it. What happened?
They're the cardinals their favorite at home by two and a half against the seahawks this week
What happened to that vikings team that won all those one score games? They lost to who?
Oh dan jones in the giants. Maybe that's why they brought him back. Yeah, he doesn't exist anymore. So who Dan Jones?
He exists, but he's in their locker room. He can't defeat them anymore. Okay, so he's also the only quarterback
I see he's the only NFC quarterback to beat Lamar Jackson too. So well up until
Till yesterday. That's a link. I thought yeah
sake one both of them
Coach Bootsch told me that
He said oh, what's that one has lost? Who's running back for the team?
Saquon. That's our guy. Mooch went on a full Pizano rant.
Very sweet. Those game day mornings are fun. Have no idea what's going to happen in there.
I have no idea how prepared they are for what I'm saying because I have zero interaction with any of them.
All I get is an email with a link and then I email what I'm thinking and then that's about it and I'll see you guys in there and then it's
just like here we go it is Kurt Warner's so handsome
love Kurt on there how about that salt and pepper yeah good beer when he pops
up on the screen I almost stop what I'm doing every time and just be like Kurt
Wow buddy yeah he's aged well yes you, you guys to stepping you and the wife
And then every time I listen to it back and I'm like god I sound so terrible
There's an echo and the quality so low
But if I put on the that air pods it cuts off they need to figure that out a little bit
I need that whole setup that AJ's got at his house
But there's no way I'm gonna be smart enough to do that.
I like that game day morning show.
Rich was buzzing.
Rich was floating.
Yeah, how could you not be?
Beat Ohio State.
He's a Michigan man, I get it.
Shefty's pumped too.
Also, if you asked Shefty why he was telling stories
about fornicating and sending out information.
Oh yeah, it's a good call.
I even asked him about breaking news
and breaking backs at the same time.
Whew.
Let's call him.
Just Lode's still stuck to him.
I mean, he might be doing that right now.
Yeah, we don't know.
Wasn't stuck to him.
Maybe on his leg.
Maybe on his leg.
Touch the ceiling, maybe.
You know, he's. Yeah. V-Rile. Super V-Rile. wasn't stuck to him maybe on his ceiling maybe you know yeah be rile
super be right I don't love the nobody's hands and cold girls going on let's call
it till we find someone to answer all right keep calling well somebody Dan oh
maybe let him in tone go he did text me actually didn't did text me I think he
has heard she after no answer was dancing you better watch what you're
saying he asked for an address I assume sent a Christmas card but it was at I think he has heard she have to no answer. What's the answer? You better watch what you're saying
He asked for an address. I assumed send a Christmas card, but it was at about the same time that we were talking about him So I think it was a bomb to Tony's. Yeah, sure
Maybe speaking of bomb. How about that fucking guy Texas A&M picking up a live round?
Oh nuts man out of the cannon. I didn't know that happened. I saw that during commercial break
I watched it back that guy's holding the live fucking around and all that I know a cannon ball doesn't come out of that thing
But there is a full-on
What that guy loses on game day? I mean, oh he dies on national TV
Throw it in a bucket of water
That does I
was standing on
Yeah, this guy just picks up a live, what the fuck?
You hear them all basically.
Oh shit.
Ah, my hands!
That's insane.
I don't know what's coming now, right?
I don't know what the full protocol is.
I did see some panic in some eyes,
so I thought oh, we're not gonna get one.
And then Jimmy G's in my ear going,
we're leaving, we're leaving, we're leaving.
And then there's a full conversation about it being back.
Oh, they got another one.
And up, up, up, boom.
And that's some of it.
Oh, this is the beginning again.
Oh, I thought we were getting to that.
You got next to the cannon, turned around like.
It got so loud.
It was so loud when that thing goes off.
But I did move a little bit more out of the way this time.
There you go.
There's not a lot of room over there.
Jan is pretty fucking big.
So I stand in the side.
Yeah, that thing gets loud.
I mean, I don't know if I would trust those people
that are standing right in front of it.
I know.
Yeah, it's facing a crowd, which I didn't know gun.
Yeah.
Let's get to another overreact.
Shout out to Tech Sanam, good people down here. Cameron Ward at nine toes cam.
Oh no.
Got lost the toe, but he's holding them nine toes down.
Be where your toes be.
Cameron said nine of them right here, bub.
Hashtag I don't want to overreact, but Ravens won
from best team in the league to an absolute joke. Tuck in it.
Uh oh.
Yeah.
We're live.
So was I.
Hey, did we ever get to the bottom of you having sex and breaking news?
You said you did that one time.
Have you done that only once in your entire life?
I think I'm finished
commenting on how many times I've gotten a story while I've been a belly
mother woman smart idea good luck we love your wife all right we did talk
about another woman yeah well talk about this remember he was like my wife wasn't
thrilled yeah oh yeah yeah yeah yeah so you just you forgot about that all right
so we did I'm sorry that's all me chef what we talk about on the show no he wasn't thrilled. Yeah. Oh yeah, I heard him say that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So you just, you forgot about that. All right.
I did, I'm sorry.
That's on me, Chef.
AJ doesn't forget about what we talk about on the show.
No, he doesn't talk about what's happening immediately.
Let's get to another every, that was fucked up.
We did that to him.
His wife's a great lady.
Great.
Why do you say another woman?
Yeah.
That was his wife.
Because it wasn't his wife.
He was in like Wisconsin, he said, or something like that.
Milwaukee or someplace.
That's what he's saying. I don't want to be telling stories about other times
What you did probably a fun night at the bottom of the bed that night bottom of the bed. Oh
Yeah, I mean like the thing whatever the hell it is like a little chase at the end of the bed
The bench you sit put your shoes. I don't know if he's in the same room
I still don't know if he's been back in the same room
You sit and put your shoes on. I don't know if he's in the same room.
I still don't know if he's been back in the same room for the entire thing.
Being back in the hallway.
But I like the fact that he's like, this is how committed I am to the gig.
And we appreciate you, Shafty.
Thank you, Shafty.
He's in a good suit.
Oh yeah.
Great suit.
Hashtag AllenReverieX, but Raven's won from best team in the league to an absolute joke.
Tuck can't hit the side of a cruise ship if it was sitting still.
Wow.
At what point did we just sign one of the randos who
kicked on game day this year and old yeller that son of a bitch Tucker oh my god nine toes cam
said get rid of this guy how much of this was there that's all it is you know usually it's like
hey fire hardball this guy fucking sucks he's been here so long we still can't win every single one
this week was like we we can't keep going on with Tucker We just can't do it understand
He's a goat this guy stinks now classic move and they're in a bye week right now is he either figures it out
Which I think and hope is obviously the outcome
But the IR thing is normally a move that would that would fall into this world
It goes so then you just punt it to the office. Was there any
talk of the black magic
You're talking about whenever Travis Kelsey
decided to move his kicking team.
Yeah, he hasn't really been able to kick
since he messed with Taylor's boyfriend.
And Taylor's man's quarterback.
That's right.
Yeah.
I mean, why would you even?
You don't play with the dark arts, my friend.
I don't know about all that, but there's no reason to mess with the aura.
He just walked, Travis just walked off, by the way.
Travis would go on to have a great, win another shoe fall.
Yeah, he would.
Travis would go on to have a great off season, traveling around to a great show in any town
of all the towns.
Yep, in every country
You get a new contract be right back in it here 11 and 1 as that's one side of that situation the other side
Where have we been worse year ever?
Was there any tweets about that that's a good question, dude, maybe one or two
But not not really is mostly just like hey this guy fucking sucks. He's gonna ruin a great year from Lamar
Sage tuck
All the sage all of it just do the whole
Energy reset I think that's what you do sage dance right? It's all sage. Are you Oscar?
What I don't know if you're smoking sage or drinking Sage. I don't think Sage is enough, bro.
Oh, you think he needs a...
He might need a full reset.
Go down in the jungle, brother.
You just start like smoking cigs or something.
Now we'll just do something he's never done before.
Yep.
Start changing clothes and cigarettes.
We don't know if he is a chain smoker or cigs or not.
True.
I assume he's not.
Right.
With that opera voice too? Exactly. I'm assuming he's not. Right. With that opera voice too? Exactly.
I'm assuming he's not change smog.
Maybe that's what he should do.
Buy a pack of Marlboro lights.
Can you imagine he trots out on the field
with a stick in his mouth?
Like, your replacement's Nigel.
He should start singing opera as he's kicking.
They should mic him up.
Clear the bridge.
What if he stopped with the opera?
Cause we're trying to change things up here.
You know, rally cap, flip that thing backwards and goes like rage scream. Oh, yeah cool cool
What if the next special we see about Justin Tucker singing he's like oh
Like the whole opposite end of opera. That's not a bad. I roll rolling pinning is his
shins like in the accountin
What's that yeah
Yeah, I hope he chooses to sing differently than that but if that works in the accountant he's just bad a flick what he's
He's on a comeback or stud
Fucking stud I do he's he just retry but just say the mojo and one Zoto is coming to Boston I'm not gonna lie, I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie.
I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not Hashtag I don't ever react but Nick Sirianni this
bald Italiano has done it again. 8 no's since he shaved his head. 8 no's since
telling that pip squeak in the crowd pipe down I know what I'm doing.
That's Nick Sirianni football baby. Eagles to the bowl. Hashtag fly. Eagles fly.
They've been on the road to victory.
And Sirianni's won a lot.
AJ, they asked if he was out on apology last week on TV.
I like that. I like what everybody's doing.
Do you think people, like, what say they have one loss coming up?
Nope.
People jumping off the bandwagon?
Yep. Yep. Yep.
No doubt.
So week by week, day by day kind of for him, huh?
Yeah, he's on an hour-by-hour contract
I think with those fields over there, but that's Philadelphia football boys rolling. They are
Good man. They were good. They're so good sake one. He's unbelievable
Closer I think for their last fire at home as well
Yeah, they don't like get on a plane. There's that stat after their win last week
Yeah, they're only away games at Washington. So the bald Italian gets the heat.
Oh, Panther, Steelers, commanders, close.
Cowboys, Giants, four out of the last five are home.
Man, what a way to end the game.
They can still get the one seed just like Buffalo.
Very much so, especially with the Detroit Lions
being as hurt as they are.
But then you look in that division,
everybody's gotta play each other in there still.
Lions, Packers, Vikings, all vying for it. They're all in there Eagles that schedule looks
We still got to play the Bills and Niners on top of that as well. No, I understand. Well, yeah, well
The Niners might be able to put it together bills will be a problem
It's in it's at home though, right?
Also, yeah also the Bills home because they did that whole entire can't play outside last year. We're going to four field
That's right home game in Detroit last year for Buffalo. I don't number one ever all seed will be fascinating who gets it
Like in the NFC. Yeah, it's hard not to be like Philly's gonna get it. Yeah, but MC DC is just one
Yeah, like it doesn't they lose a duchess in they lose they Aiden Hutchinson, they lose. They lose it or they win.
They lose Aiden Zaloni, they win.
They lose others, they win.
They do this, they win.
Oh, they had to have played or done all their trick plays.
Nope, there's more trick plays.
So many.
They got Penne Sewell with the rock about to throw that thing.
Five guys trying to tackle him.
He doesn't go down.
You're talking about we need to put him in there like the fridge on goal line.
Let's get that guy to rock more off. Just because this play didn't work doesn't mean we need to stop Ben Johnson knows that
I agree. Penny still looks so natural. He's about to throw this fucking thing and instead ah
Ah, and then the whole team goes team meeting on this guy's back never false
Never fall athlete never false. They just walks away. It's like what a beast
It's like more tricks and I didn't hear what you said Zito because we're talking about a team that's potentially looking for
Homefield advantage through the playoffs who aren't talking about a team that's trying to figure out who's gonna be running their home for the next
Losers yards there. Okay. All right. Nice. Nice. The pop was awesome. Yeah, the fans were so do it. No play
Yeah, I could I could imagine we need to get the ball to Penn anymore
Yeah, I agree one of them slot
Yeah
Exactly tackle over over over right tackle way over, you know run that little Georgia Tech right there in a little bucket
And like the seventh or eighth overtime. I don't know what it was crazy. That was awesome
Eight over terms eight and there's people that hate to shoot out.
There's people that don't like the shoot out thing.
It's awesome. It's great.
Perfect.
I think so too.
And like when the first team that goes doesn't score,
oh, it's like, what is your best play?
What is your absolute best play here to win this thing?
And then when this second defense makes a stop,
that has to feel fucking amazing.
But guess what?
You're up right now. I loved it it I enjoyed the rapid fire shootout feel and I also
appreciate it and we're saying how much we like the rapid fire feels like they
gave him a little bit of a break there too a little bit like after the fifth
one it started getting a little bit longer six one it started getting a
little sick a little breather here a little bit let's get back in there the
amount of timeouts that Kirby was calling I was gonna say I didn't love
that so they get it they get one timeout per
overtime. Yeah but I think that rule was written whenever it was like the actual
overtime rules. And then now it's like every two point try you get a fucking timeout.
It was awesome. I watched that whole thing and it was exhilarating. I also
like the way Key, you're talking about launching rivalry weekend. Key staring at that scoreboard for like whatever two minutes straight while there's celebration
happening around him in Athens, Georgia. And then him and Kirby, the embrace they had,
because the shit they were saying about each other before then was pretty real.
Sweet.
And then Carson Beck immediately in his interview was like, that team was very tough. That was one
of the toughest teams we've ever,
that was like the amount of love that was shown afterwards.
It was like, that's, that was fucking, that was cinema.
That was in that game.
Well, in the overtime, but it was 27-13
with five minutes left.
And like, they just roared back.
That was one of the better games I've seen,
I feel like the whole entire year.
I appreciate college ball for showing up the way it was Friday to that's Friday night before all the Saturday
To yeah, it did it really it was awesome great weekend a college ball
suffering fear in Columbus, Ohio
Weekend in Columbus or no worries probably high state fans
Didn't appreciate the game plan AJ's what I'm hearing a lot
They didn't love that, plan AJ's what I'm hearing a lot.
They didn't love that, you know, all the wide receiver talent.
They were just like, hey, let's run it up the middle against Michigan's best two D
tackles in the nation.
So that we could so we can prove we're tough.
Is that real?
People were mad about that.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know if the weather played on usual and throwing the ball or what.
That is exactly what we did seem like that is the strength of that Michigan
defense is those interior D line
We've seen him in person. We know how great they are. So 55
Real deal first round. They got real size up there, which any start going Indiana's wind done look too bad against Michigan. Oh, yeah
Does it wick martindale said he couldn't believe their game plan?
shot the will trust the quarterback
Do you guys have another quarterback to start in the playoffs he's a psycho yeah he wears number 33 that freshman from last
year no no no he's never came in on fourth down he's not one pass or nation
oh no he plays for Syracuse though oh McCord yeah didn't trust him either big
win he's a dog dog Dog. It was great celebration.
Beat my canes.
Great.
Yeah.
Everybody was kind of, I don't say everybody,
but there was a lot of people in the college football world
that were like, Miami's probably losing this one to Syracuse.
And Gumpy had to hear them all say it.
And Gumpy was like, ah, every time.
That's what Gumpy did.
For a month, this was a month they've
been fucking saying this, dude.
A lot of college ball people looking at Gumpy going, it's all gonna end Syracuse last night,
last game of the year. Gumpi goes, says who? And then turns out McCord.
Yeah, great celebration by their coach too.
Fran taking a shower, so you're fucking welcome Doug.
Got you in baby.
Sweet.
Let's go to another overreaction, shall we?
This is from Chief Cheese.
Okay.
At Chief Cheese.
You'd have a better chance of out-pizzing the hut
than stopping these Buffalo Bills.
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
And nobody out pizzas the hut.
Locked up the division before Thanksgiving dinner.
Left my system in the post-season.
Looks like dessert to me hashtag
I don't ever react but a man brother. We're with you. Let's go to the next one. Here's from
Jay Clarkson hashtag. I don't want to react but
49ers need to be in a quarterback market for next season Brock Purdy is not the answer would be a fool to give him a big
Contract. Oh, no. Yeah
That's a lot of that? Um,
There's a decent amount of that. It's it's kind of two-handed between that and like shanahan fucking stinks
This guy's a choker. When are we finally going to admit that and maybe move on golly brock party's catching heat
I guess I mean everybody can get it now. Yeah, you lose games. Mm-hmm
Man, what happened to the defense is my question. Fred Warner heard you.
That's what I was told by commentators.
Hold D-lines out, I get it, but it's a snowball.
They're only running it.
Jeez.
Packers just beat him up the week before.
It's the curse of Brandon Staley, my friends.
Any team he's on stinks.
Oh, he's there?
Yes.
He's on the coaching staff.
Oh yeah, everybody's saying Coach Salah is having fun here consulting for the Packers
But he's taking a one-way orb
From the Manchester Airport to San Francisco next year to be the Niners DC again
That's what a lot of people are starting to think who knows Brandon Staley over there is interesting. That's the one edition
All right last overreaction before we get out of here. It's from Drew Teske, Teske Drew.
Teske's pesky.
Now, need to watch him, he's a little risky.
Hashtag I don't wanna react, but the Minnesota Vikings
are the most slept on 10 and two team of all time.
The only ghost slinging Sammy Darnold is seeing
is the ghost of Lombardi.
The only ghost slinging Sammy, okay,
so that should be a capital S there.
The only ghost slinging Sammy Darnold is seeing should be a capital S there. The only ghost slinging Sammy Donald is seeing
is the ghost of Lombardi.
Vikings are going to the Super Bowl,
hashtag school, hashtag Vikings, hashtag Super Bowl.
That would be crazy, Drew Teske.
And shout to Kevin O'Connell being a fucking dog.
We love what you're doing over there.
We appreciate the hell out of everybody so much.
I am on the Browns plus six and a half.
Darius is on the Browns plus six and a half. AJ has the Broncos plus six and a half Darius is on the Browns plus six and a half
AJ has the Broncos minus six and a half. I have to win to tie him for yet another week against the spread
Hopefully that'll be the case boys. It's been great seeing you AJ. Hope you had a fantastic week
We'll be back tomorrow Aaron Rodgers Tuesday should be a good one. Oh, yeah, just turned 41 ladies and gentlemen
Be a friend tell a friend something nice. It might change their life. We're in this thing together
Never forget it team on me team on three one, two, three. Hey, goodbye
