Hello beautiful people and welcome to our holly jolly
Humble the Boat, The Thunderdome on this What Wednesday, December 18th, 2024.
This program starts now.
Football!
It's wonderful and there's massive news out of the football world but before we get to that I have to say
the group of humans around me that I get to work with every day are so damn electrifying.
The Talks at of tables here at Boston
Connor and at Ty Schmidt a nine-year NFL vet host of everything DB good D bad D
Which will be debuting this week's episode later on the show Darius. Yes, sir
And ladies and gentlemen wearing a secret society hoodie a 12 year NFL vet Super Bowl champion player coach
Jackie Moon of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
center and fullback for the Arizona Cardinals,
center and wedge, king of the wedge for kickoff returns
for the Indianapolis Colts,
center and guard for the Baltimore Ravens,
center for the Pittsburgh Steelers,
center for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Ladies and gentlemen, A.Q. Shipley.
What's up, boys?
Did I get all this right?
Nailed it.
Okay, are you winning over your friends in a Thunderbird? I think so. It's a big, Shipley. Thank you. What's up, boys? Did I get all this right? Nailed it. Okay, are you winning over your friends in the Thunderbirds?
I think so.
It's a big, huge move, actually.
Pretty cool.
Yeah, he's all jacked up.
Yeah, he is.
I would like to let everybody know,
he just put this hoodie on,
and the Thunderbirds are a group of,
I believe, business people out in Arizona,
which you call home,
and really make the city a better place.
Give a ton of money back to Phoenix Charities, big deal.
This guy's one of the pillars of Phoenix Air.
Looks like it.
That's what it is.
Did you see the hoodie he took off with that one?
Yeah, that's what I was about to get into.
The hoodie he had on earlier was a one of one.
Yes.
It was a size 4X.
Throwback, throwback.
It was, certainly.
Remington Trophy is what it says and the Remington award is
The best interior lineman best center best center in the country which he won
At Penn State. Oh, yeah fun fact the award show even though he was announced the winner before the award show because they weren't gonna
Give any TV time to the best center in the country fair enough the award show smart
That is where a Q and I hung out for the first time.
Down there in Disney.
And I'll tell you what, we did it.
We did Disney.
We burned it down.
We were the only ones, I think,
of the players that went out there
and kind of had a good time out there.
Us walking back into the hotel at whatever time it was,
legitimately whatever time it was, three or four,
and there was somebody standing outside from ESPN
with like a checklist, like, okay, you were the last two,
so now that we know everybody's here for the award show,
we're like, don't judge us.
Didn't know there was a current film.
Yeah, we had no idea, it was a celebration,
I thought we were having a good time,
but you had a one of one hoodie on,
that basically you won alongside this trophy
that they gave to you down at the award show.
Look how young and cute, look at that hair, look at everything about it.
And then not only did he get that trophy,
he got a one of one 4X hoodie
that he was wearing around earlier.
And I was hoping he'd wear it on the show
because we are in the awards season for college ball.
We are in a very important time for college ball.
I also did think maybe he would wear a Penn State hoodie
like he has in the past.
Because Penn State has a massive college football
playoff game this weekend at noon on Saturday against SMU. SMU's head coach
Rhett Lashley will be joining us in about 17 minutes or so to chit chat
about how they're kind of preparing for a big one in Happy Valley. Yeah. Big big
noon kickoff for Penn State SMU and obviously Warren there tied in absolute dog
And there's a story about the backup quarterback Bo who had to get in a transfer portal James Franklin
Wasn't that that pumped up about it?
But Penn State has SMU and then they potentially have Arizona State whoever wins this game gets into the next round
So big one for but if you wanted tickets for any college football playoff game any one big deal this is a big deal huge games expensive remember
the home field advantage was one of the big things oh yeah like having so we
could showcase or environment and culture and everything like that
cheapest ticket in all of sports to get into this weekend SM SMU at Penn State, 60 bucks.
Oh my good boy.
I think it's actually about 59 bucks
is the cheapest ticket that you get.
So $1 lower than that.
It was at 60, then it was at 68 at one point
in the last 12 hours.
Now it's at $59, obviously SeatGeek,
the greatest ticket buying platform on planet Earth and
The Moon.
Supplies that.
But then you go back to when Penn State
was in the Big Ten Championship out here
in Indianapolis, Indiana.
And remember it was 20 bucks to get in.
What the hell is going on?
Is Penn State not able to sell a ticket?
What is, I think it's like the average ticket buying price
for the Notre Dame I.U. game.
When a resale price after the thing was announced
was like over a thousand bucks
I think. Yeah, it was. I don't know if it's... 12, 1300.
That was the average resale price for these tickets to get into I.U.
Notre Dame. Now that's a Hoosier battle and there's a lot of history in those two fan bases mostly because the I.U. football fan base, a majority of them,
were Notre Dame football fans for a long time because they were the football team from Indiana that they would cheer on. Now they have a
football team. That's gonna be an awesome environment up there. Over a
thousand bucks to get in there. Penn State game. 12-team playoff game.
Price of a hot dog. The Yahoo Cares Bowl this weekend. 60 bucks to get in. What the
hell is going on up there? That's a great question but I do know the Big Ten
Championship. they showed up
I think it was Oregon that didn't want to come this way, but this game concerns me a little bit
Yeah, well why is it concerns me a little bit? Are we not gonna fill up?
Well, it's not gonna fill up. No, I don't want to make a lot of excuses, but I think the kids are out of school
They're going home finals are done
You don't think the Catholics are out of school?
Wow, see Christmas week, you don't think that is a story?
That's probably a story in most places.
I'm not real sure what's going on up there in Happy Valley.
I don't like it one bit though.
Can you put the full bracket up of the SeatGeek
average resale ticket price thing that went up there?
No, the brat, yep, there it is.
Okay, so Texas, how many seats are in there? 100? price thing that one up there no they're the brat you up there it is okay so
Texas how many seats are in there 100 100 yeah big Ohio State how many seats
are in there what 80 plus no I think it's 100 yeah 100 Penn State how many
people in there 100 so nobody else is seemingly having a problem with it being
a hundred thousand plus that's weird you know Notre Dame does not have a hundred
thousand but their resale price since it was announced one thousand and thirteen with it being 100,000 plus. That's weird. You know, Notre Dame does not have 100,000,
but their resale price since it was announced,
1,013 bucks.
So all we want to,
the Penn State fans were great at the Big Ten Championship.
They were very loud.
And once again, use code PAT2024.
You get $30 off any ticket,
not just the college football playoff,
any NFL game, any NHL game, any NBA game,
which maybe they need to move some tickets out there
at the NBA Cup.
Yeah, maybe hand them out.
Maybe. Yeah, I don't know.
Hey, you want to go see a ball game?
Anyways, CKCast tickets, everything, get 30 bucks off with PAT2024.
AQ, they better fill that place up.
Oh, it'll get filled up.
It might get filled up for 20 bucks a ticket, but it's going to get filled up.
Okay, good, because I think one of the best things about this 12-team playoff
is a lot of people who maybe don't watch college football are
gonna get a chance to experience what college football, yes it is the sport of
football on the field. Now is it a different style of football than NFL
football which NFL football gets like 50 some million people to watch, 20 some
million people to watch and college football still has a chance to go get it
and grow the fan base football fans still can grow into college ball. I was excited for them to get to see these home field environments
and like experience college ball because the pageantry, the tradition, the passion,
that is all a massive piece of why college football is so damn electrifying.
Now we're getting get a hot dog and a ticket to a game up there. That's one of the best fan bases
like in the north. Is it? Is it? They are are we've experienced it a Lucas all they were a lot. They were you're very loud
You experienced it on the field before the game. It was a noon game. That's where they missed the mark
This should be a night game. Well, they got in the horseshoe. I know Tennessee
This games on like that like true TV or something. Is it really I think so
TV Like true TV or something. Is it really I think so TV
Hope you guys wait
We'll talk to right here in about 12 minutes
We'll see how they're feeling going in there and maybe SMU needs just pluck that entire
Yeah, get up there pluck the entire they should what if SMU invades?
Happy Valley what What if we are in a SMU?
What if they do that?
If I had to guess, what are their colors?
Blue and red, right?
Blue red?
You're going to see a little smidgen.
Blue red, top right corner of the stadium.
That's what you're going to see.
Okay, well anything could be the top right depending upon how you look at
The stadium obviously if you look one direction top right is top right then you look another direction and it might actually be back left
But I understand what you're saying
You know where somewhere there will be a tiny sliver of SMU fans and that's all they'll need
They said they're being counted out. They don't look for a home field advantage. They're just happy they're in the dance
We'll talk to Rhett in about 10 minutes or so. That is alarming though.
Not good.
Wild.
Especially with how like they are real.
Well, I don't like the whole like,
well, you know, it's so close to Christmas.
It's like, you don't think family,
it's not on Christmas.
It's the weekend before Christmas.
Families go in there, you do it for one day, you go.
And it's not like the tickets are a thousand bucks.
I mean, these cheapskates aren't gonna spend 60 bucks
on a ticket to get into a playoff game. What world are we in right now? Well, it's hard like the tickets are a thousand bucks I mean these cheapskates aren't gonna spend 60 bucks on a ticket to get into a playoff game
What world are we in right now? Well, it's hard to get there though. Remember very hard to get up there
Yeah, so you have kids that are already there like you don't just go home after finals because there's nothing to do
It's like hey, this is kind of where college gets fun
There's nothing to do
You can kind of just party and then get ready for the college football playoff game that you've been working for all year. And then what? Then you're going
home Christmas. Then you're going home and getting a bunch of presents. This is a hell
of a, this is an eight, nine day run here of awesome. Historic. Everybody else experiencing
it. Hopefully Penn State will as well. Speaking of having a good run, let's hope Michael Penich
Jr. has one of those. Hell yeah. Ladies Ladies and gentlemen Kirk Cousins has been benched by the Atlanta Falcons and the eighth overall pick in this past year's draft
Will be the new starter going forward now if you listen to Dan Olovsky yesterday who didn't think this was going to happen from
The conversations that he had although after the game coach Raheem Morris said everything's going to get evaluated
We'll come back with a decision after we go through our process
Everything's gonna get evaluated. We'll come back with a decision after we go through our process
Yada, yada kind of started and ignited the conversation about maybe Michael Penex's time is
Now well, it was made official yesterday And I think the the alarming thing I heard from our law ski yesterday was it felt like Kirk Cousins had lost his confidence
And if you lose your confidence in one of those types of positions, I guess any position in sports
Especially at the professional level that will be your downfall. You know, you hear all these people that are
world renowned in sport and they talk about the brain being the most powerful thing. Yes, you have
to be able to complete the task that you're being required. You have to be able to throw a football.
You have to be able to kick a football. You have to be able to hit a baseball. You have to be able
to throw a pitch. That is certainly a qualifier to become a professional. But in between the years is where you become a pro or you're just a guy that was good at sports
In between the years is when you become an all-pro or just somebody that has a cup of coffee in between the years is everything
Everybody thinks that's like IQ all the time. No, no, no, that is a confidence that you have to have in yourself that you're gonna be able to
Complete the task that is gonna make you be great for your team
So where do you get your confidence from?
Well, you get it from the work that you put in.
Practice is what leads to confidence because you can always fall back on your fundamentals.
We think her cousins has a phenomenal work ethic when it comes to practice.
So if it's not just a fundamentals issue, if he's having confidence, seeing
defenses and understanding things, then that's a confidence that delays you.
And that's confidence creates eight
Interceptions in four weeks in zero touchdowns. That's the type of confidence
I think is very tough to get back in the middle of a season and now it's Michael Pennex's time
And we chatted about this on draft night Michael Pennex was a very good quarterback, you know at Indiana
He was a great quarterback that when he went out to Washington. He was a great quarterback
He's played a lot of football the throws that he has made is like hey, this is a pro quarterback
This is a guy who should do very well at the next level very mature has played in a lot of games
His team loves him. He's a great leader
So whenever you draft that type of guy to go into a building there's always gonna be little murmurs about like hey
This guy should be in here instead of Kirk,
especially because it's Kirk Cousins' first year.
So then Kirk has that run of bad that he is having.
Even in a win this past week,
there was no conversation about him having a great game.
This felt like inevitable.
And I think if you're the Atlanta Falcons,
you can feel both vindicated
that you spent the number eight overall pick
on Michael Pennex Jr.
Or you can still wonder, did we help add to the lack of confidence that Kirk Cousins was feeling in a situation because in practice
He's watching a guy who has picked top ten spin it all over the field who cares for the Falcons
They're still in the NFC South conversation
But this is a massive move for the future of the franchise
Massive move especially because of what you just said.
They're still in it.
Like it's not like the season's done.
It's not like the Bucs have locked it up.
No playoff hopes.
You put the rookie in and see what you have going forward.
So that's huge.
Dan was on yesterday and saying,
he didn't expect this to happen this year.
And he also said that he's been hearing that everybody loves
what Michael Pennings has been doing in the building
all year long.
So you put the young kid in there,
give him a chance to spin it.
And when a guy like Kirk Cousins loses that confidence in the passing game,
being able to anticipate, make those throws in the windows from the pocket,
that's where he is.
He doesn't really have another superpower to lean on, like a Jalen Hurts or
Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson.
If they're not really seeing it,
they can extend plays and make these different plays with their legs.
So when you are in that pocket as a defense,
I know we love a pocket quarterback
if they're not fully confident
because we know exactly where they're gonna be.
We know exactly where we need to be in our zone drops.
And now it's just about reading their eyes
and breaking on plays.
And yeah, he just kind of lost it.
Didn't look like himself this last month or so.
And you got to do this to kind of keep your team in it.
$180 million deal, $130 million guaranteed.
That's where the business of this whole thing comes in.
If they were to cut Kirk Cousins,
they would take a $65 million cap hit.
If they were to trade him,
the $27.5 million guaranteed base salary
that is for next year would go to the next team.
They would eat the $37.5 million
to cover the rest of the 65 million in dead cap. We've seen the Denver Broncos taking
massive cap hit and be okay with it and say we're moving on. We don't know what's
gonna happen in Cleveland. That'd be up over a hundred some million in
dead cap money that they couldn't use on other players to build their team so
you're you're working at quite a disadvantage
versus every other team in the NFL,
especially with the parody that there is at the top level.
But if you think about money wise,
Kirk Cousins is going to be A-okay.
Kirk Cousins is going to be A-okay.
No doubt.
This is one of the stories of Kirk Cousins.
You know, he was willing to bet on himself
with the franchise tag with the Washington.
That's back.
The Washington. The Washington, they're bringing the Washington. That's back.
The Washington.
The Washington, they're bringing it back.
Still bringing it.
Yeah.
Big booms.
Yeah, big booms.
It's going to make big booms.
He was playing for a Washington team at the time over there in the capital of the United
States of America.
He took the franchise tag multiple times and said, I'm betting on myself, I'm betting on
myself.
Had good years. That was back when they had that coaching staff
that was like Shanahan, McDaniel,
I believe LaFleur potentially there.
McVeigh there, like there's a whole crew.
So their offense was rolling, Raheem Morris,
which is why he potentially ended up in Atlanta.
So he franchise tagged, had good years,
franchise tagged, had good years.
Then he hits the open market and he was the first guy
that I recall at quarterback position taking a fully
guaranteed deal instead of some gross huge money with a lot of incentives and
Kirk was pretty trailblazing and game-changing whenever it came to
contracts for quarterbacks and that never stopped he continued to do that
throughout his entire career even in this Atlanta one with 130 million
guaranteed phenomenal businessman both he and his agent so he's gonna be just to do that throughout his entire career, even in this Atlanta one with 130 million guaranteed.
Phenomenal businessman, both he and his agent.
So he's gonna be just fine.
Okay, going forward.
No trade clause, too.
What do you mean by that?
So he gets to decide if he wants to waive that or not.
Or he just says, hey, release me, pay me my money,
and I go play me somewhere else.
And there will be teams, well, there'll still be teams
that will want Kirk Cousins, A.Q. Shipley.
1000%. To be starter, to be backup, to be veteran, will there still be teams that will want Kirk Cousins, A.Q. Shipley? One thousand percent.
To be starter, to be backup, to be veteran, what do you think?
He's a starter on 21 teams right now. We talked about it before the show. There's
there's not many great quarterbacks in the world right now. And so when you look at that and you
got a guy like him, yeah okay, I think he's shouldering a lot of the blame right now,
but I also think that the coordinator hasn't done a great job doing what Kirk does best.
You're not seeing a lot of the play actions, you're not seeing a lot of the boots, you're
not seeing a lot of the nakeds and getting them rolling.
Now is a lot of that to do with his anchors, Achilles, whatever it is, right?
Who knows what's going on, but you still need to let him do what he does best and they have
not done that.
Could you fathom, Sam Darnold signs a deal massive somewhere.
Kirk Cousins has what, $30 million coming,
no matter what, whatever,
60 some million guaranteed.
Russell Wilson's situation next year for contract,
and he goes back to Minnesota.
Oh man.
Can you imagine Kirk going back to Minnesota?
The story.
Getting one million, hey JJ Young Buck, kind of watch.
Watch this.
Watch how this goes.
You know, you got to see Sam Darnold last year
for a little bit when you were back in the building now
Go ahead and watch me because Kevin O'Connell has had great success with Kirk Cousins
We know that when Kirk Cousins wasn't playing they weren't winning when he was playing they were winning kind of like what Sam
Donald's doing right now, but much more efficient. This is Sam Donald's first year no matter what it's like
Kirk is gonna be hot to trot next year, and I think with the way the contract is set up
There's a Russell Wilson situation looming
where Steelers only paying him 1 million bucks a year.
He is a $1 million quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
While.
Against their entire salary.
43 million Denver Broncos are paying him.
So he's completely A-OK
and he's become the leader of that team making,
that has to be 30 of 32 salary?
Yeah, it's bottom of the barrel.
Maybe 32? Yeah, it might be last. Right, bro. Seriously. Brock. Yeah, it's bottom of the barrel. Maybe 32.
Yeah, it might be last.
Probably both.
Seriously.
Brock, what's Brock making?
Brock gotta be making more than one million
at this point, right?
Fourth year?
I know with the performance bonus or whatever,
he ends up with like two million or something.
Player performance?
Yeah.
Bonus that comes in when does that come?
March, I know all about that.
Yeah, exactly.
Exactly when that comes in. Thank's that come March? I know
You've got a lot of player performance bonuses you remember when they were trying to kick those down the road years and years they did Yeah
There was an uncapped year in 2013
So I didn't get that money until 2015 which ended up being a good year. It's a good year when it came
everybody knows
Your 2015 story, so of course well course, but you get double that year.
That's what I'm getting at.
You get two player performance.
Oh, because you get that one and then the next one.
Yeah, exactly.
They're trying to do it all.
But Brock Purdy, I wonder what his salary is this year.
Can we look that up?
What Brock Purdy's current salary is?
Because then we'll be able to kind of judge that.
But Russell Wilson might be the cheapest starting quarterback.
Probably.
Going into the entire year for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
That's a weapon. That's quite an advantage. Is Kirk Cousins going to be able to do that for another team? We shall see.
Well, I mean, you look at what the rookie quarterbacks have done thus far, and you know, Caleb was kind of the one guy that hasn't really come in and started immediately and done very well.
So a guy like Kirk, especially if Penix, who's had 15 weeks to sit behind Kirk during the regular season.
If Penix comes in and plays unbelievable, you gotta think, hey, Kirk, of course,
goes about his business right, knows what he's doing.
Guys can learn behind him.
Like even those top two teams, the Giants and the Raiders,
you would wonder if they would take a chance.
Like, hey, we could draft a guy and put him in right away, but, you know,
Drake may sat behind someone, did very well.
Penix pending him, he might sit behind, do very in right away, but you know, Drake may sat behind someone, did very well. Pennix pending him, he might sit behind,
do very well right away.
Why wouldn't you take those top two picks
and think like, hey, we could spend a million,
two million bucks on Kirk Cousins, who's proven,
who can show the next guy what to do,
because no matter what, those teams,
it's not like the Giants and the Raiders
are in that category of, hey, we get a quarterback,
we're gonna win 12 games next year.
Like there's a lot of-
They need to build a lot. Yeah, there's a lot that they still have to do
pen and who knows they might be in a completely new regime nonetheless too
so like those type of teams you would think might take a chance as well
Brock party salary this year nine hundred and eighty five thousand I
believe is what it is cap hit total is signing proration is 1 million four
thousand two hundred fifty two bucks so that's what the San Francisco 49ers have
been able to operate with it's what the Steelers are able to operate with not
bad right now and what does Kirk do now is he the backup quarterback or is this
a Daniel Jones situation where he goes to like scout team defensive tackle or
because this never once because are they is he gonna back up Pennex now? Yeah, it's never happened to him.
I don't know.
I'm very, cause he was back up to RG3 obviously.
Whenever he first gets into the NFL,
but he was drafted after RG3 was a setup.
In this situation, it's his first year in Atlanta,
which is why we thought tough to win over the trust
of everybody while a top 10 picks there.
If you do hit a slump at all,
there's going to be calls for Pennex,
which came very loudly.
And now they've had to make the decision to go to Pennex,
which once again might work out perfectly for him.
They might end up looking like absolute geniuses in this,
especially if Pennex is going to play how they're talking
about him playing.
But does Kirk go to backup quarterback?
Is he on the clipboard for Michael Pennex?
Is that how this, I don't know, legitimately.
I mean, yeah.
I mean, you're expecting to be a good teammate. That's what I would expect know. I mean, yeah, I mean, you're expecting to, you know, be a good teammate.
That's what I would expect him to do.
You know, you still you still get paid. You get benched.
Now you're the backup and you're, you know, facing facing the scout team.
Maybe, you know, that's the way he builds his confidence back up.
But for Michael Pennix, it's a tough spot.
You're going into like a shit moves so much faster during the game.
And you always you hear the term mid season form,
like defenses are, and you know,
damn near post season form at this point.
So for a rookie to get thrown into that,
it's going to be tough for him.
And then obviously tough on Kirk, you know,
a big, this is a big shot of his ego.
His pride, we know our quarterbacks are,
and now you're coming in to back up.
But I expect him to be a backup,
be operating that scout team.
Tom Brady, remember what he said about Daniel Jones?
That's right.
Tom Brady was like, it happened in Michigan, but if they want me to play wide
receiver to help the team, I'll play wide receiver if you want me to help the team.
Well, Kirk Cousins do the same exact thing in his first year because they are paying him
a lot of money. A lot of money. Cousins is a competitor though. He's a, yeah. I mean, come on.
But this is also- What do you mean, come on? What do you think Kirk does in this situation?
I think he'll still just be the backup.
Cause like at this point, what really can happen,
we're so late in the season,
but this is also why everyone killed the Falcons
because granted this situation is working out
for the Broncos right now, but they squandered the,
like you have Pennex on a rookie deal,
but they can't really improve the roster that much
because they have so much dead cap now.
So you can't even really take advantage of the fact that you do have a rookie quarterback
It's like we knew that everyone knew this was a possibility and it was kind of like they were just like no
It's not there's no way this and then all this, you know, he and I mean how many weeks ago?
He set the Falcons singles single game passing record for you know yards and then six weeks later that I can't fuck this guy
We're done. We're, get him out of here.
And it's like, it's just, it's crazy.
It is a crazy time to be in Atlanta Falcons, still in it.
Still in it.
And Pennex might come out and maybe they thought Kirk Cousins is the perfect guy to show
Pennex how to be a pro because Raheem saw Kirk operate behind the scenes previously.
Maybe this decision will end up working out perfectly for him and they'll be able to laugh
in our face. But to your point about roster construction
very valid tough but that's only for next year I think so they will have
right maybe a couple years ahead speaking of a couple years ahead this
team somehow moved into the ACC and then bang everybody thought I was gonna take
a couple years to transition uh-uh head coach became the ACC coach of the year.
They make it to the ACC finals in a thriller against Clemson and
then they become the 12 seed in the first ever 12 team playoff.
Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now head coach of that team,
the SMU Mustangs, Red Lashley.
Yeah, coach.
Coach, how you doing?
Good, Pat, good to be on the show.
I'm supposed to tell you Big Oak says hello.
Well, please tell him I said howdy.
Please, please certainly send my regards.
And yeah, it's been fun to watch because I met you,
I believe you're the OC at SMU.
Whenever I met you, I was doing Thursday Night Football games.
You're a former ball player, former quarterback, former player.
The way you ran your offense was awesome.
We had like, I think a very easy conversation.
And then I kind of follow you.
You go to Miami, they come back.
Now you're the head coach at SMU.
And what you've been able to accomplish
in such a quick time, good for you, man.
Good for you.
You worked your ass off for this, legitimately.
You worked your ass off for this, had a vision.
It feels like you're back in the perfect place
over there at SMU.
How do you feel after this year?
And how do you feel about the SMU Mustangs, brother?
Yeah, I appreciate it.
I mean, it's been fun.
It's been a wild ride here the last three years,
just the speed at which our program's gotten
to where we are.
You know, I think we've won 22 games in the last two years
and played in the conference championship game the last two years.
And here we are in the CFP and there's 12 teams left with an opportunity to play for
a national championship and we're one of them.
So really proud of our guys.
It's been a special journey for a school like SMU that had been on top of
the college football world in the past, the long time ago.
But there used to be guys like Eric Dickerson and
the Pony Express
beating teams like Texas and anyone else that they would play. And so to have our program back to that stage and just in this kind of conversation on the national level is a big deal to us.
Hell yeah, as it should be. And obviously great area of town down there in Dallas, you know, in the modern world that we're in.
But you talked about that Pony Express, the death penalty, right? You guys got kind of served the death penalty because of what?
Everything that's currently happening right now. Isn't it kind of a interesting kind of world that we're in right now that what SMU was basically kicked off of
everything for, like, killed the program. Now we're in the Wild Wild West and you guys are
like kill the program. Now we're in the Wild Wild West and you guys are succeeding in it. Like how do you feel about the modern world that we're in and does the irony fall upon you about what the
Pony Express was killed by kind of happening now? It is it's definitely interesting you know obviously
that's not not excusing anything SMU did over 40 years ago, but it also wasn't
like they were the only ones doing that back then.
But they just seemed to be the ones that got to me made the example.
But now we're in a day and age where players rightfully so can capitalize on their abilities
and all the money that they bring to this sport of college football.
But it is a different time.
We're sitting here in the college football playoffs
on a Wednesday, we play Saturday at Penn State
and free agency is rampant in college football.
And it just, you know, so it's,
but yes, we've been able to capitalize on it here at SMU.
I think the right way over the last two or three years
to get our program back to this point.
And I think what it's done too, you see across the board,
the parody in college football is different than what it's been three,
four, five years ago.
I mean, I'm not gonna say you won't have any more dynasties, but
what Nick Saban and Alabama were able to do for so long and others.
I think it's gonna be harder to do because no longer can teams stack two,
three, four elite recruiting classes and say, well, they're second and
third teamers could start anywhere else in the country, but they can't go anywhere.
No, now they transfer, they go and they start.
And between that and NIL, it allows for teams like SMU and Indiana and
Arizona state and Boise state to be in the playoff with a legitimate
chance to make some noise.
So NCAA president Charlie Baker will be joining us tomorrow in studio.
So there'll be a lot of conversation from us to him about everything that you're talking
about right now.
Just know, hey, Rhett, I'm your Huckleberry, bub.
I'll go in there.
I will, I will do it.
And I think Charlie's expecting it.
And I think that's why he wants to come on the program tomorrow.
There's a lot to talk about, obviously, but I think April 8th next year, there's a ruling
coming down about a rev share, but I think April 8th next year, there's a ruling coming
down about a rev share, but NIL will still be involved. And then NIL might become even
more important because if everybody has the same, it's a wild time to be alive. And you
talk about those recruiting classes one after another. It's like there, you don't have to
be in the transfer portal for people to be able to call you and tell you like, Hey, you're
very good. You're not going to play there for two years. We thought you knew that
going into school. Now- Well, you're supposed to be in the transfer portal, but you're supposed to be.
But that's not how it's working out, right? At all, anywhere, I don't think, right?
Not at all. Yeah, okay. Because agents are in here now. So, agents are able to have-
This is just like when a combine happens here in Indianapolis, Indiana, in the NFL. are all here. It's a you're not allowed to tamper not allowed to do anything
But the agents are just happening upon conversations with people and yeah, we might have about 20 million for a corner next year
Okay, like those cars, but now I think agents are in representing these college players
So like you're able to kind of find out information and then soon as somebody finds out they're, Oh, I can get how much I'm going in transfer portal. I'm out of here.
That's happening. I think like at a rapid rate right now. Right. And you're experiencing more
than me, I guess. Oh yeah. I mean, a lot of times if you see an elite player go on the portal,
as dollar bill on billions would say, they are not uncertain. You know what I mean? Like they,
they have an idea and it's either done or it's down to two or three schools.
People don't just hop in for no reason if they're really big time players.
And so, you know, and, and, and that's where we are.
And look, Charlie Baker inherited a really tough situation.
He's trying to make it better.
And, you know, the NCAA is a big organization and you know how long it
takes to move a big organization.
But before he got hired, I mean, we've just been void of leadership.
And so a lot of things that are good, players having the ability to transfer, you know,
NIL, all those things are good.
But when there's no borders, there's no guidelines, there's no structure, if you kind of have
chaos, you know, you have free agency windows in the NFL, you have contracts, you have structure,
we have none of that.
And so I know that's what he's trying to bring to the table, but it creates a lot of chaos when you're trying to get ready for the CFP,
something kids should be fired up for, it should be the opportunity of a lifetime.
And yet they're getting bombarded by schools to leave your roster and they're in the middle of the
playoffs. You're trying to bring in recruits to now replace your outgoing seniors for next year.
Yet you're supposed to be focusing on the game.
It's just a lot all at once for these kids to deal with.
Hey, figure it out.
You know, like that is what,
like you probably feel terrible even complaining about it,
but I think without you mentioning that,
like Coach Saban never wanted to complain about it.
But then Coach Saban gets in these meetings
and gets on TV and he's like,
I gotta re-recruit this guy,
transfer portal's open and I'm preparing
for the national championship at the same damn time. How is that supposed to be all at the same
time? Like they just, I think they need to figure out the calendar. I think there needs
to be a calendar.
It has to be totally rebooted. And I'm not complaining. Look, we're adults and we're
football coaches. It's our job to fix problems and handle tough situations. So I've already
told people, you know, they gripe and say, coaches are complaining, we'll work 24 hours in a day. We can't put 25 in a day. So if you do too much, it gets a little difficult, but like, we can handle it. What's not fair is like the Penn State backup quarterback who were playing had to go into the portal and said he's not going to play with his team. And it was the hardest decision he said he's ever had to make, because he has to balance balance do I go on the portal and not pass up an opportunity to go find a good future home for me
to go be the starter or do I play with my team and finish in the playoffs something I'd want to do
and he says I couldn't do both that's what's not right about the situation he shouldn't have to
make that kind of decision agreed because he's worked his ass off too to get to this point with
his team and what tomorrow is shouldn't affect what today is but it feels like
today has everything happening at the same damn time. Hopefully they're able to
get that pick. I think your backup quarterback too or former starter is
gonna plan on hitting the portal but he's also sticking with the team. How does
that work? Yeah he we did the same thing he went in the portal he said he wanted
to stay through the playoffs and finish.
We wanted him to, so we've worked with him, you know,
when we've not had practice days, he'll go take a visit.
He'll come back and it's a challenge, you know,
that he wanted to do and we're working with him.
But again, two different situations,
kids still both felt like they were in a position
where they had to make tough decisions
that honestly they shouldn't have to make, you know.
Got it. Okay. So let's stop talking about all that. Let's talk about your team.
Congratulations, man.
Oh, yeah.
Kevin Jennings, tell me about this guy. Your team ignited around him, huh? He's
the dude.
Yeah, Kevin's dog, man. He is. He's a winner. He's a leader. You guys have
seen it. I know y'all talked about him a lot on the show this year on Saturdays.
I mean, he did.
He won in high school.
He stepped in here last year when Preston got hurt and
won the conference championship game for us in his first career start.
And then what he's done this year since we made him the starter after week three,
he's just he gave our offense an identity.
He's explosive.
You saw what he did in the second half of the Clemson game leading us to come back.
And I think the special thing about Kevin, he has that unique ability to be
incredibly confident in, like I said, a dog, like his teammates believe in him.
And you know how it is to have a quarterback that the team believes in like that.
At the same time, he's like incredibly humble and he's not a me guy.
And so he has that perfect blend and the moments just never too big for him.
As a matter of fact, he's usually the best in the toughest moments.
Sounds like a face of a program, which is obviously what he has become.
And you talked about that second half, what'd you learn from your team?
Because we were watching along, we were at the Big Ten Championship,
watching along as the end of that whole thing was happening.
And at the beginning there was 24-7 or something.
So I think it was 24-7, 21-7, whatever it was.
In the college football world, we're like,
ooh, for that 12 team playoff,
if this goes how this is going,
they're gonna discredit everything SMU has done this year.
Even though we don't think it's a good thing to do that
because the chaos of the year,
getting your team to show up every single week
is a task in of itself. In playing and winning games is a big deal, especially if you look at all
the losses. But then that second half switch flip, what was it? You think about
your team? What did you learn about your team in that moment? Most adversity all
year other than BYU?
No, I think they proved that they were exactly who we thought they were. They
were the team that that won eight straight conference games and had won nine straight games in a row
to get to the ACC Championship game
and to be ranked high enough to be in the playoffs.
We had a really bad first quarter.
I mean, we had two turnovers on our own side of the field.
We gave Clemson the ball four times
on our side of the field in the first quarter.
Our defense played lights out,
but it was 21 to seven
because we gave them four short fields and
I think they only had one touchdown over 60 yards in the entire game. So we really hurt ourselves early
But what you saw is a resilient group
We go in at halftime town 24 to 7 and we just
Everybody was calm and we just said look this has a chance to be our defining moment of the season
Maybe our finest moment if they won the first half 24 to 7,
we can easily go back out and win the second half 24 to 7.
We'd won some quarters 24 to 7 this year.
And so our guys credited them.
We went out and we got a stop.
We went down and scored.
And then we hung in there. We got to the fourth quarter.
Our defense played great.
Kevin was cooking, as they say.
And, you know, we scored with 16 seconds left to make it 31-all.
And at that point, we had won the second half 24-7.
You know, unfortunately, we didn't do a good job kicking the ball at the end zone and covering
a kick late. And Credit Clemson's kid would just nail on a 56-yarder. I mean, it was,
it was like the bat off of the ball coming off a bat of Aaron Judge. And you just know
it's gone immediately. As soon as he kicked it, I think my headset was off before it was
through the uprights. That thing was pure. What a game. But I think our team showed that we have
that championship character, that resilience,
that ability that we knew was in there.
We just made stuff too hard on us in the first quarter.
Immediately afterwards, one of the first things
Coach Dabo Sweeney said was,
that is a playoff team on the other side.
And that guy's obviously been to the big dance
multiple times.
I think that was very telling.
And inevitably, the playoff committee puts you in at the 12 seed. D-Bud has a question for you here about this weekend. Yeah
coach speaking of the playoffs and the elements you know first 12 team playoffs and you're getting
the home games from these teams Penn State will be the home team here obviously. Got preparing you
know mid-50s I think out there in Dallas right now the forecast for this weekend mid-teens how
are you preparing for that mentally
with the players and the coaches getting them ready
to go on that play with that cold weather?
Yeah, it's a great question.
And you know, I mean, weather's only gonna be a problem
if we allow it to be, you know, like we've told our guys,
they all want to play in the NFL, right?
Well, we're getting into that playoff time of year
in the NFL shortly into December and January
where the playoffs are gonna go through Arrowhead and they're going to go through Buffalo and
they're going to go through Green Bay.
And so you have to be able to go on the road and play at those places or
you play for those teams.
If you want to play championship playoff football at the next level, so
we get an opportunity to do that in college this week.
And fortunately that ACC championship game was in the 30s.
I know it's going to be colder than that this week.
Here's what I'll also say.
I mean, I think the crowd and the home field environments,
the biggest problem.
Penn State's gotta play in the exact same weather,
the exact same weather conditions we do.
And the last time I checked,
they've never played a home game on December 21st
in 20 degree weather.
So I even think they have an indoor up there.
So that's only gonna be an issue if we make it one.
And if we allow it to be one, it will be.
But I think our guys showed hopefully last week
that they'll play in the elements.
And if we want a chance to win and survive
and advance in the playoffs,
we're going to have to overcome 20 degree weather
and 106,000 fans.
And if you're a competitor,
that's the opportunities you want.
Hey, maybe that place might not be filled up.
I don't know if you're seeing the Penn that Penn State they're on they're on break. All right break. Good finals
Take a hundred and two thousand then if that's what we need
Well, I think you're SMU people could potentially yeah, I think you guys can go get yeah. Yeah
I think there's a chance you can get in there Charlotte looked miserable. I looked miserable cold rainy
It looks bad over there for that ACC.
You know, it was cold and I had a pullover and a jacket on in the first half
and we were getting our teeth kicked in 24 to seven.
So I took the jacket off in the second half and went out and the,
the sub official looked at me. He's like, are you not cold? I said, yeah,
but the way we played in the first half, I don't deserve to wear a jacket.
You college coaches, you ACC college coaches on,
if your team doesn't play well,
not doing something.
Fran at Syracuse, doesn't shower, right?
That's right.
If your team doesn't win.
Him, my teams get my ass beat.
I don't deserve to be comfortable.
I deserve to be cold as shit.
Give me frostbite, because our team's down 24-7.
Let's head to Hammer.
Don, Don.
Tone Diggs has a question for you, coach.
Yeah, coach, I had a question to you about the man meet meat on your team because normally when you go from a group of five to a
power for conference the the O line D line is is kind of where it's lacking but
You guys have been great up front running the ball and then stopping the run your top five in the country
And I know you've got some transfers from Miami that you brought with you on that D line
How do you feel about the man meat going into this Penn State game because I know you've got some transfers from Miami that you brought with you on that D line. How do you feel about the man meat going into this
Penn State game? Because I know they are also awesome upfront.
Question. I think it's what's given us a chance to compete in year one and to get
to the ACC title game and even to get into the playoff. And it's,
it's going to have to give us, you know,
curious to give us a chance to advance. Uh, you know,
I think Garen justice big Oak as we called him at the beginning,
our O-line coach has done a fantastic job with the O-line.
And 13 of our 20 transfers last year were O and D linemen for that reason.
And we've had good balance on offense.
Our running back, Brichard Smiths, about to break the all-purpose record at SMU this weekend.
And that's because we've got a really good O-line and has kept Kevin clean.
And then on defense, to your point, I think we lead the country in QB
pressures as a D line and we were top five in the country against the run.
And that's because that D line not just the first unit but we're too deep.
They've stayed healthy and so as you guys know a really good D line and
stopping the run and being able to run the football is a key.
The good D line makes the linebackers in the secondary that much better.
And if you can run the ball and stop the run,
it allows you to control the game
and it doesn't allow the other team to.
And so that's been a big key for us.
Obviously it's a different challenge with Penn State
because they're really good on their defensive front
and they can really run the football.
They ran for almost 300 yards last week against Oregon.
So it's going to have to come up big for us this week.
Two great runners.
They've been there seemingly for like 100 years.
Yeah, Singleton and Allen, they've been there since freshman.
Now they're juniors.
They have a lot of experience.
And obviously, Cottenick, if he continues to run the rock,
has the capability to do it.
He gets a little excited sometimes.
It's a little excited.
He likes to run too many trick plays.
That's Penn State alumni and offensive lineman A.Q.
Shipley's opinion.
I don't know if you've seen that in your film study Garen justice big oak former offense alignment of the Rich Rod era, West Virginia
Is that right? Let him know let him know we're back and we're not poaching any coaches, but
Garen we're back country roads ain't coming through Dallas
All right, you got it I love that Garen's doing. You've been with him a long time now, right?
You guys have been together a long time.
We've been together now five years.
We were together the two years at Miami
and now the three years here.
And he's done a fantastic job.
He's big dude, lumbering.
Big oak.
You're talking about, he is it.
He ain't gonna ask.
Hey, you know what?
He's a big dude, but he's in good shape.
Now as a matter of fact, he and I do these Peloton workouts.
Jess Sims, your girl, we do those 60 minute boot camps
and he's in good shape now.
You keep up with Jess Sims?
I've heard her workouts are very, very difficult.
I've heard that-
As a matter of fact, Pat,
after we make a run in these playoffs,
we want to invite you to Dallas
and you, me, Big Oak and Jess Sims can record a Peloton ride
in our new weight room.
Okay, sounds like you guys will be doing that.
I can't wait to watch you guys do that.
I think that should definitely happen.
Okay, I will, I will.
I'll come down, I'll come down.
I'll motivate you guys doing it.
I've heard her workouts are a fucking...
Diesel.
I heard they are a problem.
All right, Coach, good luck this weekend.
We appreciate you so much for stopping by
and congrats on all the success
and juggling all the things you have
while the biggest game of your coaching career
is just a few days away.
You're the man.
Thanks, Pat.
Appreciate you guys having me on.
Ladies and gentlemen, SMU Mustangs head football coach,
Rhett Ashley.
Hey, coach.
Big Oak, I didn't know if you were still down there or not.
I think I should have known that
because I probably talked about him this year
at some point during game day.
Big dude.
Yeah, no poaching, of course,
but offensive line coach
for a college football playoff team.
Kajima, take me home to the place I belong.
Lost last night in the Hoopters Coffee Bowl. to the place I belong.
Lost last night in Hoopters Coffee Bowl. Yeah, Scooters Coffee Bowl.
There it is.
Scooters Coffee Bowl.
Great effort though.
It got bananas late.
Okay, now I potentially did turn it off.
Jesus.
Yeah.
I mean, those are big holes.
Big holes right there.
Big gaping.
And that's why I've been saying,
all right, man.
Good plug.
There's a big gaping
There's a big gaping
There's a big gaping
There's a big gaping
holes there for sure.
Okay. That is for certain,
but let's remember that the boys fought hard.
Okay.
Yeah.
And there was a couple of players I was watching where
I'm like, he's going to be a good mountaineer going forward.
I like that guy.
Hudson Clement, kid out of West Virginia,
West Virginia state player of the year.
Had to walk on at West Virginia. Back in the day, I thought it was just kind of common practice, West Virginia State Player of the Year. Had to walk on at West Virginia.
Back in the day, I thought it was just kind of common
practice to West Virginia Player of the Year,
just kind of gets a scholarship to West Virginia.
I thought, maybe that's just because.
Every state.
Yeah, I thought that was just because of my roommates
were both State Players of the Year
in the state of West Virginia when I was in college.
But he would walk on to West Virginia, get on scholarship,
and then last night showed everything
about being a fucking hard edge guy. would walk on to West Virginia, get on scholarship, and then last night showed everything about
being a fucking hard edge guy.
I'm sure there was others on the roster somewhere, on the defensive side somewhere, maybe somebody,
but like Gigi is running wild.
It was a nice, it was a nice nostalgia run to watch Gigi do his thing in the highlights
this morning, watching it back.
And they were in this thing all the way until lately, lately they were driving to win this
thing against the 10 and two Memphis Lately, they were driving to win this thing
against the 10 and two Memphis Tigers,
who were obviously top 25 team.
I don't know how we ended up getting matched up
with Memphis, but I respect that we did.
Yeah, wondering that too.
No, I don't know how this was the bowl game,
but I think people knew West Virginia had a team.
Much better than 6 and 6.
And we kept fighting, obviously made it close.
Yeah, can we get to the final play?
6 and 7. Final, excuse me, to the final play? Six and seven.
Final, excuse me, the bowl game.
The botched out.
It's regular season stuff.
Easy.
The final play, Gigi throws a pick,
then Guy tries to run it back.
Hudson Clement punches it out.
Okay, we're gonna have ball first down,
eight seconds left on like the 30 going in.
Yeah, here it is.
22 seconds left, 42, 37, touchdown wins it.
Gigi throws a pick, obviously on the throw,
this guy dipshit, runs around, Hudson Clement,
hard edge, punches it out.
Who recovers it?
Offense alignment for West Virginia.
Gonna have eight seconds left on the clock,
gonna be first to goal, 30 something.
Now, could run a play to get this thing out of bounds quick,
get it up to 25, maybe we're able to win it.
They would have returned a call.
Because he was sliding, he was giving himself up, the play was over.
Even though his shin was not down and the ball came out
because he decided to slide, play was over.
Didn't know that was a rule.
Had no idea that was a rule.
Me either.
Yep, Westridge could have won that thing last night
on the last game of the Neil Brizier era.
Saw a lot of the players wearing Neil Brown shirts.
That's good, you guys did great, thank you.
For the coach.
Rich Rod was there.
Saw Rich Rod there, did an interview. Good to see him walking around with Rem Baker. It's all good speaking of awesome
And we're hoping Rich Rod does exactly the same thing with West Virginia that happened
At IU guy from JMU comes over brings his boys with him and they transform a culture
Into becoming one that I don't think anybody even in the state of Indiana could fathom. Ladies and gentlemen the head coach of the IU
football team the Hoosiers head into Notre Dame in the first round of the
12-team playoff of college football which is a pipe dream for a lot of Hoosiers
fans this guy saw it coming ladies and gentlemen Kurt Signetti. How are we doing coach? How you guys doing? Hey fantastic not as good as you you got a
team in 12 team playoff kicking the entire thing off on Friday night how do
you feel how does the team feel congrats on all the success thus far although I
know you haven't won anything yet but but congrats on the season. How do you feel coach?
I mean, we're still in prep. We've had a good week.
Our guys will be excited to play and we're in it to win it.
We don't want a participation medal, right?
Yeah, amen.
So today's Thursday and we've had a great week and
looking forward to going
up there.
I think it's a great game for the state.
I know Notre Dame's kind of a national brand, but for the state of Indiana, I think this
is a tremendous game in terms of promoting the sport of football and making it even more
popular than, I know Peyton Manning did a lot for the game when he was was with the Colts but I think this game here will do a lot for the state. I think so too and coach I assume
you've been told this by numerous IU people I'm very lucky to be around a lot of Hoosiers married
into a Hoosier family a lot of the IU fans and this is where football was for the Indiana
University for a long time they didn't even they were IU basketball fans and then they were Notre Dame football fans because Notre
Dame was in the state of Indiana and basically anybody but Purdue is how they
viewed it. So their football team was the Fighting Irish they represent our state
and then we're Hoosier basketball fans. Now all those people immediately, yeah we
got a football team now and they're excited, pumped, happy.
You know, you say participation trophies, but who's your fans that I talked to are like
ecstatic about this entire whirlwind of a season.
How did you know that your team was going to be able to get here because you've been
calling your shot since the beginning.
And what have you learned about your team this year that has you feeling great about
Friday's opportunity?
Well, you know, first of all, I was confident.
I'm like a player that's experienced success
on the gridiron, right?
So you have success as a coach,
you believe in your blueprint and your plan.
I felt really good about the 22 transfers
we brought in in December.
I thought we really changed the roster in three weeks.
And you can see the culture start to change
in January, spring ball, summer, fall camp.
Now you still gotta put it on the field, you know.
But then, uh, you know, with every win, um, came belief, confidence, and it
snowballed and had been through a similar situation in the past, so knew
it could happen and along with that came, came the fan support, you know,
which, cause if you remember the first game came out at halftime with three
score lead, about half the people had left. I addressed it in the first conference, but, uh, you remember the first game came out at halftime with three score lead,
about half the people had left.
I addressed it in the press conference.
But you know, wasn't long we were selling out and we have five, 10,000 people outside
the stadium tailgating that can't get in.
And it's been over the top, man.
I mean, these people are starving for success.
Best fans in America.
I mean, they just, they wanted it so badly.
And it's been great to see. It's hard to even explain to be honest with you. Yeah, they're all so grateful
You know you woke up a fan base that had been cheering for another team because their team had been non-existent for so long
This is a football people out here in Indiana. I know it's a home basketball
There's a basketball Hall of Fame out here. The Pacers obviously fantastic Bob Knight with the Hoosiers legendary
There's
a lot of basketball love around here. But these are naturally a football people in Indiana.
Got a lot of farmers, got a lot of blue collar people, got a lot of hard working people and
giving them the opportunity to celebrate their Hoosiers in this particular world. I'd like
to say thank you because there's been a lot of happier Hoosier fans than there ever has
been and they're pumped going into Friday night.
Now speaking of that, you got to juggle a lot.
We're just talking to Rhett Lashley about this.
Go ahead, Ty.
Yeah, coach.
Obviously you have a massive game coming up and I assume that takes the lion's share of
your focus.
But how do you juggle having to be active in the transfer portal considering that is
a big reason you guys were able to flip everything so quickly obviously that closes Sunday how do you juggle everything you have to do with
that while also having to prepare for the biggest game in the school's history on Friday night?
Yeah no that's a good question and and it's tough because you're wearing a lot of hats you know you
you're working on retaining coaches your roster roster, evaluating portal guys, the portal guys on official visits, getting a team ready for a game.
And we shut down the official visits this week so
that we could completely focus on game prep.
So we got nobody on campus Monday through Friday.
We've got some kids coming in Saturday and Sunday and then Monday's a dead period.
Then we've got a week to recruit in January,
but 75, 80% of these guys have already
made their decision by then.
So in a way, it's great that you're
in the college football playoff,
but you're sort of penalized to a degree
in terms of the portal recruiting
because there's only 24 hours in a day, right?
And you're going, so we're getting some recruiting work in at night, but the focus during the day is prep.
And we're still doing okay, but I guarantee there's a lot more kids out there that we
could be researching, developing relationships with.
But I think the publicity of getting into playoff, the exposure, which we've earned,
and now it helps if you do well, obviously.
And we're going to be okay.
But it's been 4 a.m. mornings, 1030 at night.
It's been four hours of sleep.
And I know one thing, I'm going home after practice tonight.
This is like a Thursday practice.
My ass is going home.
Okay. You deserve it, Coach. I'm going home after practice tonight. This is like a Thursday practice. My ass is going home
Coach and tell that family we said hello when you get home and it is Wednesday He said Thursday games normally on Saturday. This game is on Friday
So you bump the schedule up a day to keep everything the same as a game week
Which leads to the extra time that you've had a Q has a question for you coach
Yeah with all the extra time, how have you handled the last couple weeks of prep? It's like an off week you
know you practice enough to stay sharp fundamentally and timing and rhythm
practices were a little shorter kind of generic. I mean we dove in on Notre Dame
as a staff and introduced a few things but I like the sense of urgency
preparation during game week and carrying that through till kickoff so
you know I don't want to do too much too soon plus quite frankly a lot of our
time was spent on the portal evaluation and recruiting and official visits. So
much to do so little time massive game on Friday that the whole
world is gonna be watching. Kicking off the brand new era of college football.
You've earned it. We can't wait for it. Game day will be there. I think we got
like a four and a half hour show kicking that thing off. There's gonna be a lot of
signetti love out of this mouth. You need to know that. Connor has a question for
you. Yeah coach, most expensive ticket of the weekend so congratulations. Your
team's a massive draw in the college football playoff.
But how have you addressed the team? Has it been kind of
acknowledging how big of a moment this is for the state of
Indiana for football and are you in itself or is it kind of just
been business as usual? We're just playing football out there
same type of week as it has been all season.
No, it's business as usual, you know,, that kind of hype is for you guys and people
that love to follow the sports.
And I mean, you know, you prepare for this game
like you prepared for game four or game five.
I mean, the standard is the standard, right?
And if there was a better way to do it,
we'd do it that way every time.
So I like where we're at.
I like our mindset.
I think we learned some good things coming out
of a high state that some situations will handle a little better. And I'm confident. I like our mindset. I think we learned some good things coming out of Ohio State.
That some situations will handle a little better.
And I'm confident.
I'm confident in our team going into this game.
And we'll be ready to go.
Let's talk about that Ohio State game.
Obviously, a couple of special teams situations pop up.
Do you feel like that was great for your team
to get that experience before Friday?
Do you think that was a moment for your team? Or how do you describe what happened in Ohio State over there?
I'm not sure I'd call it great.
Yeah, but you know what I'm talking about.
I know what you're saying.
Calloused almost like you're calloused. You have a situation.
I mean, we gave him 14 points on the punt team.
You know, we dropped a snap and we gave up a punt return for a touchdown.
And it seemed like we were in that one corner of the end zone for two and a half years. points on the punt team. You know, we dropped a snap and we gave up a punt return for a touchdown.
And it seemed like we were in that one corner of the end zone for two and a half years.
Didn't handle the crowd noise very well and had some communication breakdowns and pass
protection and couldn't play offense for a while there because we couldn't protect the
quarterback.
And, you know, we went to a silent count, which
is the first time I've ever done that and we'll never do it again.
Why? Why? Why would you never do it again? You hate? Everybody does a silent count. I
thought that was just kind of standard operating procedure in a loud environment.
Well, not always, you know, because there's always an indicator when the ball's going
to get snapped. And once they figure out who the what the indicator is they tee off and time those blitzes and their get off and you know
defensive guys are reactive players offensive guys are used to going on a cadence a rhythm so
we didn't need to do that but that's behind us now um, they're a good football team.
They played well.
You know, we could have played better.
I give them credit.
And you know, we learned from it.
And you know, when you don't have the result, don't have the success, right, and you fail,
then you got a choice, right?
And you can sulk and blame others or you can learn from it and come back stronger.
And I believe we will
Never daunted baby. Can't wait to watch your team on Friday. Congrats on all the success. You're the man
We appreciate the hell out of what you've done for this state of Indiana coach
Well, thank you and you are the man
I'm trying to keep up with you, you know that ladies and gentlemen you you got your guy at West Virginia. You got your guy
He's right the mountain is how about them mountainers hey we're back we got a little
hard edge now again you know what i mean rich rod we need that we needed that yeah you know rich
rod and i played together i was a year ahead of him holy hell i didn't know that rich never said
boo in college i never heard the guy talk. He was thinking though. Working.
He was thinking.
He was thinking.
He was thinking.
You're the best, ladies and gentlemen.
Hey, do you wanna?
Nah, nah, nah, nah.
I didn't know if you wanna come back.
No, I didn't know if you wanna come back to West Virginia.
But hey, listen, no poaching.
No, no, no, no.
This is home right here, baby.
Oh, God, hell yeah.
This is where it ends for me.
Ladies and gentlemen, Coach Sickley.
We're just getting started. You heard. We're just getting started here. Okay.
Yeah. You're the man and we're thankful for that. Ladies and gentlemen, coach Signe.
No, no, no, this is home and we're just getting started.
70,000 people are here and Bob Dylan is the reason for it.
Inspired by the true story.
If anyone is going to hold your attention on stage, you have to kind of be a freak.
Are you a freak?
Hope so.
And starring Timothy Chalamet as Bob Dylan, he defied everyone.
Turn it down!
Play it loud!
To change everything.
Make some noise, BD.

It's wonderful. We're so lucky we get to talk about it. College football has a massive weekend kicking off the 12 team playoff on Friday night as IU and Kurt Signecki, who was just on the
program, travel up to South Bend, Indiana to take on Marcus Freeman in the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, which will kick off a historic playoff
run to find out who the greatest team in the country is. Will it be one of these
squads potentially? Maybe. Then on Saturday there's three college football
playoff games capped off by Tennessee at Ohio State, which we will be live from
the sideline of for a simulcast on ESPN2.
ABC and ESPN will be Fowler and Herb Street.
The other three playoff games will be intermittent,
or other two playoff games will be kind of split
by NFL games as well.
So we got five very meaningful football games on Saturday.
We got one college football playoff game on Friday night.
We got one NFL game kicking off game on Friday night. We got one NFL game
Kicking off Thursday night football week 16. Then we got Monday night football following a Sunday slate
That's packed and then we have Wednesday football NFL on Christmas two games on Netflix then Thursday night football again
Then we get right into a massive weekend again. So we're in it and bowl games
They matter. Yeah, of course.
All throughout.
Football.
All throughout.
Football is winning right now.
Yeah, we only have a couple of months.
Let's go football.
We got a couple of months left.
We're in the best time of football.
Yep.
Let's watch it all.
Let's enjoy it all.
And let's assume all these games are going to be bangers
because they're potentially set up to be as such.
The Talks of the Table is here at Boss Conner
and at Ty Schmidt.
Nine-year NFL vet, Derry Steve Butler. Yes,mitt. Nine-year NFL vet Derry St. Butler.
Yes, sir.
12-year NFL vet, Super Bowl champion A.Q.
Shipley's here.
Did you get bumped up in that secret society that you're in at Thunderbirds?
I don't know.
We'll find out.
Because the hoodie, I don't know if you got a text or a ratio.
Hey, you go up to a green belt, Bob.
I got a lot of nice hoodie.
I got a lot of nice hoodie text.
Yeah, did you?
Yeah.
Do you guys have suits or jackets or anything that you wear?
Yeah.
Zito can probably find the outfit they wear at the open.
It's not Ashless Chaps, I don't think.
No, it's like a whole blue outfit with a belt and a little necklace.
Have you been fitted for yours already?
Oh, yeah.
You've been fitted for your blue costume?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, that's the ceremony.
Holy shit.
It's your logo right there on your sleeve.
It's on your wrist.
That's it, right there.
Is that part of a handshake? What's that all about? That's the little logo. Uh, it's on your wrist. That's it, right there. Is that part of a hand?
What's that all about?
That's the little logo.
Oh wow.
There it is.
Oh, that's the fit?
You're gonna have that little bone on it?
Yeah.
They might kick you out, like you're giving away all their.
Yeah, what about the necklace?
What about the necklace?
Two versions of Herb Street.
So the beads are like all the things you volunteer for.
You get beads.
All the events you're...
Yeah.
So you guys are, we're giving back to the community.
That's all we do. Group. That's it. Okay. Five stars. All Phoenix characters. All of the Thunderbirds good group. Yeah.
I didn't know these existed. Every time I hear about these types of things. It's always bad.
Always, Thunderbirds good group. Yeah well they say that about everyone too. That's true.
All the groups do good things. Yeah. Oh that's like every very wealthy person is a massive
philanthropist. Oh yeah. I don't know. I donate 10 million. wealthy person is a massive philanthropist. Oh, yeah. Oh, no, I don't know 10 million
Is that not a fucking flint? Yes, it's great. You tell me every one of their titles you look up your time
philanthropist
CEO of venture capitalist fund. It's like oh, I like how somebody decided we done a right
Hey, you can be as big of a piece of shit as you want. Just donate like 15 20 million bucks
You're fucking philanthropy. You're not a CEO, you're a philanthropist.
Remember that?
That's a good move.
That was a great move by whoever.
And also anybody that donates money, good.
Okay, that's a good thing, not a bad thing.
Because everybody would say tax write off, whatever.
Who gives, if people are giving back money,
keep giving back.
But I do like that that kind of became the thing.
The Thunderbirds, I do believe.
Because we know AQ Short. That's
right. Great guy. I think they're good. Thank you to Thunderbirds for everything they've
done. Thank you. We think. We think. We haven't been in there. We don't have any necklaces
or belts or jackets or coats or anything like that. You should get that Thunderbird tattooed
on top of your head. See how many beads they'll give you? Right up there. Yeah. Like Vader.
Yeah. Exactly. Big Van Vader, that's right.
Get it like Vader?
Yeah.
Get the thing just all the way back?
That'd be awesome.
How committed is he, Thunderbirds?
Yeah, good question.
You tell us.
Maybe get a couple more beads.
You put that thing up on the top.
Joining us now is a man who's a part
of the Ohio State Colt.
He's the all-time leading tackler
for the Green Bay Packers.
He's a college football national champion,
a Super Bowl champion, relative of Tony Hawk, we think.
Yeah.
Ladies and gentlemen, AJ Hawk.
Yeah, Hawker.
How you doing, Hawker?
Doing great.
I do not believe I'm a relative of Tony,
but Pat, if you remember the Thunderbirds,
when we went and did that,
was the 16th hole, the stadium hole out there,
we did the closest to the pin or the hole-in-one contest.
Thunderbird people were all over the place because I do remember asking like what's with all the beads in the different outfits
You guys are all the sleeves what he wanted them. I don't know
Sleeves is a big-time Thunderbird, isn't sure
big-time Thunderbird, isn't he? Sure. What do you need to know your brother in? You need to know your brother in. I don't know who you're talking about. Talking about the sleaze, the golf guy, the one, what's the podcast please kid? Oh yeah. Gravy in the sleaze. Yeah with Colton Oaks. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, he's one of the main guys. Okay.
Yeah. See I do remember. I'm the actual. Yeah you remember. But but no I'm actually I know your group more than you know
I didn't know you were gone his name's the sleaze
Gravy, I think his name is gravy in the sleaze. They do a golf podcast. Is that what they call themselves? Yes
I think so it is gravy gravy in the sleaze. Yeah. Thank you. I thought I got it, right
But I won't let you know once while those types of names I will get close
But not accurate couple letters. Yeah Yeah there's gonna be Gracie and
Sleeve. Yeah. Can't say. No you can't. Can't switch those. No. No don't want to be a part of that and
neither do Gracie or the Sleeves there. But nonetheless yeah I remember them AJ they were
running around their blue jackets they were very kind. I don't think either of us knew what we
signed up for in that particular situation though. I don't think you. You put it on?
of us knew what we signed up for in that particular situation. No, I don't think you put it on.
What's that? Did you put it on? Put it on, buddy.
I had I was on what, 250 milligrams.
Stand up.
I had no idea what I was walking.
You send it into the crowd.
I got down. I think it ended up on a fringe.
Nobody talks about it.
And I think you had to use J.J.
Watts Club, which was much longer.
That's that's what I learned.
Like this guy is a massive fuck.
He was so big.
And obviously you have to have tailored clubs.
But yeah, I pulled him out as a hockey stick.
What am I supposed to do with this thing?
People are all very kind though.
That's what Thunderbird is for.
A guy who's rapping.
Great group.
Crushing it.
Kelly James music.
Kelly James talent.
Yeah, the dog.
The way his brain operates.
That is like a perfect thing for those golf outings. I follow him on
Social media it feels like the golf outings are like his main bread, but he's a roast rapper
I feel like now, you know, and that does golf outings, you know people it's a new new target
Every 30 seconds or so, which is perfect for
Freestylers and music people. Yeah, it was a great event. Yeah. No idea that
that's what I should have done a tiny bit of research. Should have had him last night. What's that,
Kelly? Yeah, golf event last night. That was a great event. They need to make that entertaining somehow.
Nothing could help that. Somehow. Concept, good. First time we saw it, whoa! You know, it's like
Hard Knocks first time we saw it. Bang-o. Whoa! this is it. Now it's like I don't know if they have figured out what
they want to be in. Do we want to talk to the golfers? Do we want to hear the
golfers? Do we want to have conversation with the golfers? There's too much time
between things there's a lot of dead time. Normally when we're watching golf
we can cut to a good shot, good shot. We can dock good shot just in case there's
no good shots. Pull up good shot. Oh
Let's go to the 16th here. I wonder what the fuck this guy We've never heard of before that just popped on the screen for the first time who's in 70th place is about to do
Oh, he's about to chip in from 155 yards out. Then we're gonna go bang. Then we're gonna go bang
Then we're gonna go bang. That's golf in Charles Barkley. I can listen to him do anything
Legitimately anything if it was run like a podcast, which I think there is,
they gotta figure out how to do that,
because it is awesome.
It is a great concept.
It is a phenomenal event to have.
Now, it was going against the Hoopter's Coffee Bowl.
Exactly.
Which is, it's gonna be tough stuff.
And Hard Knock started at nine o'clock
whenever everybody was at the point of being like,, they're not really I'll just find out later
I'm being up. Oh banger
Why so much on man?
There's so much on but like that was a good concept and I appreciated the PGA taking on live too
And I love Rory coming out the gate hitting two Eagles. I think yeah, absolutely
Demolishing or like it was fun. I just I know it's hard to stick with the whole thing. Too much time, too much time. Especially early on they were walking, like they got into carts
later I believe, but early on they're walking and you're just kind of hearing guys walk and then
yeah it's just tough. I'm a big fan of the concept. I love watching golf, suck at golf, love watching golf,
love basically all the characters that were on that show too. There's a couple I didn't know, but like love everything that D. Chambrough has been doing
to build his brand and build his team and everything like that.
That chipping over the house thing that he did, phenomenal.
Sweet.
Must watch.
Great entertainment.
And having Brooks with him obviously because of the past that they have representing Liv,
okay good idea.
Roy McElroy, Captain PGA at the beginning of this thing.
I hate Liv, remember? Good booking there. AndElroy, captain PGA at the beginning of this thing. I hate Liv, remember?
Good booking there.
And then Scooty Scheffler is the guy.
So everything about it is like, I wanna watch it.
Especially with how cool Scottie was.
There was a couple of times where Scottie was lining
something up in the rough,
and he just backed right into the crowd.
And the crowd just like kind of backed up,
and he's just like, hey, how you doing?
And then just kind of sat there and played.
He understood what was kind of going on, and I think he is like such a phenomenal golfer.
So there's so much good. We would like to make it. We would love it. And not us make
it. Obviously we would not be able to handle something. We would be, but we don't want
to. Yeah, we wouldn't actually time wise. We'd not be able to do that.
Trust you right now.
That would not be something we'd be able to put on or the connections to have it or to
be able to book it the way
That you know all those types of things but like that's in theory a fucking brilliant thing and I think they'll figure it out
I think it is figureoutable. Hopefully. Yeah early on I feel like the banter not last night early on in this entire
The math showdown whatever the hell whatever gimmick it is
Like the banter between the two teams was awesome. Like there really wasn't any
Like the banter between the two teams was awesome Like there really wasn't any banter between Rory Scottie and then Brooks and Bryson
There wasn't too much back and forth and then like the gimmicks in general like typically I hate like the gimmicks
Hey, you're only using this one. You're only using a seven iron on this hole
I almost thought they could have used more gimmicky type shit with the pros with the pros to open it up a little bit because
They did kind of treat it as if it
Was like a they were playing for a green jacket, which we like. Yeah, which is cool
But if it's gonna be that you have to book accordingly, you know, you have to you have to like kind of figure out
How you're gonna feel the because it was like a golf tournament. That's four guys. That's my biggest is personally
I think these were better when you had like a PGA
pro or a live guy and then you had like a quarterback doing it because then you
otherwise it's just like, oh, this is just like a second rate golf event that these
guys don't really care about.
You know, it's like, because the first thing you're going to, it's like, okay,
well, this isn't anywhere near as good as just any random PGA tour event on a
Sunday, much less a major, but it just,
you need to have someone who isn't a professional
in there, I think, and then you pair them
with a professional, because then that's where you get
most of the shit talk, too.
Those guys who aren't professionals
are gonna be going at each other.
Especially if they hit a good shot.
Exactly.
Like, we all remember right now in our head,
Tom Brady did this, what was the shot?
Ear thing fell off.
Audio pack fell off.
We all think about that moment. That's probably
the biggest, that's one of the biggest moments of these entire thing. Aaron Rodgers burying
that putt to win the thing when it was dark. If you remember that moment in this entire
thing.
Draymond shit talking, Klay Thompson on the green, burying him repeatedly.
Potentially why Klay Thompson wanted to leave Golden State because of that. Yeah, we remember
like those are the moments and it's I think a little lighter. And obviously it's tough to do right. That's
why like the timing is just weird. Like I don't know if we needed one right now. Like
you do that in the summer when all of those guys are available and you know, most of them
will probably be like, well, shit, yeah, I'll go out there. Are they available though? Aren't
they in the middle of their season? That's what I'm saying is like, well, yeah, exactly.
For them, obviously, yeah, for the golfers,
maybe not. But you do it right now, then it's just like, obviously, you're not going to
be able to get any other athletes. It's just going to be a golf. There has to be a time
where their seasons don't and this season's done. Like even if you do it back whenever
there's like one game on Saturday and one game on Sunday, I guess that's why it worked
those because they started this during COVID. Yeah, so no one had shit going
on and they could all kind of just go to like a remote course
where there weren't a bunch of anyways, we appreciate that
they're doing it. Yeah. Like this new Tiger League thing. I
appreciate that they're doing it. Yeah, I think that's gonna
be good. Technology looks sweet. Can we build that out back?
Think that'll be yeah, set up Excel. That's good. Drive it
into a sim pretty much a big ass sim. Yeah. Set up Excel. That's good. Drive it into a sim pretty much, a big ass sim.
And then whenever you get within 50 yards of the green.
I want to say 130 yards.
So they have 130 yard warehouse.
That's probably why it went down.
Didn't go down.
Yeah, class.
They got real grass.
They got sand.
Like it's.
The greens move.
That's brilliant.
And there's a 40 second shot clock on every single shot.
Which is what we were just talking about.
Exactly. And then there's also gimmicks as well. Something called the hammer. I don't know what you know what that is
Tigers
I want that to be good. I did.
Yeah, you do.
Me.
Foxy does.
What?
What?
Foxy said it on me.
Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is a man who might have an opinion on this.
He has opinions on everything, doesn't he?
He does.
Ladies and gentlemen, one of the only members of the Bull Ring of Honor for the Houston Texans
future, first ballot Hall of Fam Famer NFL legend and CBS pregame
show pundit ladies and gentlemen JJ
JJ did you watch the match showdown last night? I think they won 10 million in crypto which what
does that mean? Is that all the cryptos? I don't know. Bitcoin because if you get 10 million in
Bitcoin probably living pretty good. Wish this have happened a year ago, maybe but like I have no they asked Scotty about it
He's like I have no idea what this means. I'm gonna have to do some research
I guess no time to do it. Yeah, there's 10 million hog tool coin pretty often
There's been a lot of those coins that have popped up. Maybe they'll all hold value
I doubt it, but maybe you know, you never know Bitcoin feels like it's really going. Yeah, I don't know much about it
All-time high yesterday Wow
Really again still cooking. Okay
Jade she'll bring how do you feel about Bitcoin and how do you feel about the golf match that took place last night?
Don't have a lot for you on either aspect. Oh didn't watch a single second
Thought you were friends with some of those
Oh didn't watch a single second. I thought you were friends with some of those. I was not told that this would be part of the required reading for the show today. I understand. Nobody told me. Okay so no homework on that. Let's talk about Chitter Chat. I gotta apologize to Connor first of all. It's been brought to my attention that I have been a little tough on Connor lately and I would like to issue a formal public apology to
Connor I am sorry
Thankful you just deleted a tweet about corner right there. That's what you just did right there. That was very kind to you apologize
Are you accept his apology? This is very adult of jade for sure man. Let's just talk ball
I mean what the hell are we doing? All right, let's talk ball.
Do you think the Atlanta Falcons owe Kirk Cousins
an apology, Jage?
Because they signed him to $180 million deal.
One of his big things is he wanted to be the guy.
Okay, he wanted to be the guy.
Signs that big of a deal,
you assume you're gonna be a guy.
Then you get to draft night,
and with the eighth overall pick,
the team that just paid you that,
that you have not even played for
or met everybody in the building or established relationships with, picks a phenomenal quarterback
out of Washington. A situation then brews from that moment forward on who's going to be the guy for
the Atlanta Falcons. Is it the big money guy or the high pick guy? Then all of a sudden guy starts
throwing a lot of picks and high pick guy becomes the guy. Can't go back to Kirk is what everybody's saying
Do you agree with that and how do you feel this entire situation is kind of played out, Jage?
I don't think you owe anybody an apology when you give them that much money
So I think
It sucks there's no doubt I know he wants to play there's no question. He's a competitor he wants to play but also
You got a lot of cash. So it's not that bad I know he wants to play there's no question he's a competitor he wants to play but also
You got a lot of cash so it's not that bad
I do think that they clearly need a spark this didn't do what they thought it was gonna do
At the beginning of the year I think there was some crazy moments some great stuff where you see the sparks and you're like, okay
The Falcons are gonna figure this thing out. Obviously just haven't quite figured it all out
so now very excited to see what Penex does.
And I, I do think that development and time to learn is helpful.
So I'm really looking forward to seeing how he performs.
Do you think Kirk back up quarterback over there now?
And how's that entire situation?
Because yes, he did get paid a massive amount of money
and Tom Brady's entire point about Daniel Jones's situation when he asked for his release now
He's a member of the Minnesota Vikings practice squad Tom Brady said they gave you a lot of money
They took care of you. They got your team you were there for him
And if they asked you to play scout team safety, I would do that
He said I go back to my times at Michigan. I was asked to do that at the beginning of my career with New England
I was back up he Tom Brady basically won on a full pitch about like,
the Giants have given you a lot.
And for you just to be like, nah, I'm not doing anything,
but be starting quarterback, he hated.
Now, there's a lot of people that have sympathized
with Daniel Jones too,
because of how that entire situation has played out.
So let's not, we don't have to rehash.
Yeah, I mean, cause you also have to say
like Saquon did a lot for the Giants.
They didn't reward him.
Like I get it, maybe not contract or everything,
but like at the end of the day, this is a business.
Like you kind of lose all the like feely stuff.
It is a business.
If you can get your release, get it.
Like, I mean, it's benefited him.
You might as well try.
So what do you think happens with Kirk?
Well, he has a pretty significant no trade clause from what I understand so he kind of holds all the cards here
so if he wants to I
Mean, I mean again, but to be honest if you're getting paid that much and they ask you to be a backup
And unless unless unless you play in the galley stuff in that feeling stuff shouldn't he want to get I know I know
I'm talking myself in a circle
Let me figure it out
I mean, I don't think it'd be wrong of him to ask for his release
I think he can absolutely do it
It's whether or not who plays the game better from that standpoint like if who's gonna win the Leverage show down there
cuz
Yeah, I don't know. I don't know you got me there.
Yeah okay so maybe Kirk just does the backup role you know because feels like he owes the
Falcons for how much they're paying him maybe he just goes about his business which everybody
would hope that their older veteran quarterback would do for a rookie quarterback especially
if they're paying them that amount of money and maybe Kirk is not that bummed out about
it because maybe he did lose his confidence,
like Orlovsky and others have said,
and maybe he wants to find who the quarterback is
that he is, yet again, in a slump
that I don't think we've seen him have in a long, long time.
Yeah, but can they bench Pennex now?
Like Pennex is it.
You can't really go back.
Yeah, what if Pennex throws four picks next week?
It's hard to go back.
Against the Giants.
Okay, Kirk, $180 million guy, remember? Put your ass back out there, this go back. Against the Giants. Okay Kirk, 180 million dollar guy remember?
Put your ass back out there this guy sucks. We screwed up again. This is on us but once again we got a
chance to see it you know but then at that point season would they still be in it with the Bucs
potentially but if they were to lose kind of start slipping away a little bit which is why I think
it's such a big deal they think they can go go win right now with Penix instead of Kirk.
So that means what they've seen in practice is obviously good.
There's just so many different layers to this shit.
There's so many different.
I don't, I don't think, I don't think go back, especially not this season.
I mean, they've clearly made their move and if it's not working out,
that means they're going to be losing games.
So they're going to be out of it anyway.
So then you let Penix play it out to see what you got moving forward.
The only time in my opinion you could go back
if you really want to would be after the season
going into next year, but you've really kind of undercut
his legs there and took out all respect
and kind of digging the out of the locker room.
So it would be pretty darn tough to go back.
Okay, let's move away from the Atlanta Falcons.
Let's go to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
All eyes were on Teeg's left ankle whenever he came up
while Lane Johnson was blocking him, obviously,
very scary type of play if you're a fan,
or just a football fan,
because what TJ has brought to the entirety of the sport,
that's his outside rush foot too.
That's a big get off side of his body there.
What do you know about this?
What should you you or what should
we think about it and how's Teach feeling after what happened against
Philadelphia on Sunday? Yeah we got a low ankle sprain there, x-rays negative. It's
one of those things that you just roll it really hard and it's very painful,
very tough to utilize because you're a pass rusher on the edge turning the corner on that ankle
specifically putting an insane amount of pressure into it. So when you add that with the fact that
they're playing the three games in 11 days or whatever it is very difficult but he is walking
around better and feeling better than I think you would initially think the next day. So who knows
I know him I know he's a competitor I know he who knows? I know him, I know he's a competitor.
I know he's gonna wanna be out there.
I know he's gonna do everything it takes to be out there.
So we're gonna see what happens,
but there's no question that the three games in 11 days
is A, nuts, and B, very difficult for a situation like this,
which Mahomes is also facing in Kansas City.
Jay, did you ever play three games in 11 days?
Like at any point in your career growing up, high school, college, NFL.
And what do you think?
I guess, what do you think the NFL is thinking when they do this?
Uh, I think we all, I think we all know what they're thinking
when they're doing this.
Um, I, I mean, there's a lot of candy, more, more money, more money for,, more money for more football, more football for the people.
Oh, football.
There's a Freudian slip.
Yeah, yeah.
I think you gave me.
Okay.
We heard you.
What you thought.
Oh, the money.
I mean, but no, I mean, candy cane games.
Yeah.
NFL holiday.
Remix.
Remix! R-R-R-R-R-REMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII I have not I have not played in that short of a time period. It is a lot. But it's tough man. I'm looking forward to it because I'm a fan of the game now and I'm obviously Netflix Christmas Day calling the game in Pittsburgh so really looking forward to that but no there's there's no question
I mean nobody's nobody's naive in thinking that it's not difficult. So it's
obviously good promotion for our sport for our league and Netflix has 270
million I think three years I forget the number 270 million worldwide you know
subscribers so that number is gonna be gigantic.
I mean, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson,
allegedly 60 to 70 million people,
which is why I was buffering.
So those Netflix deals with people
are a global expansion of sports.
So playing it there on that day, wonderful.
Absolutely love it.
But having them just instead of play on Sunday for a Thursday game,
having them play on a Saturday when they've already played on Thursday and then crowning another one
is certainly an aggressive decision for your like four top teams.
Like four very, very, very, very good teams.
So I think there could have been much better planning.
I think there could have been much, when bye weeks happen, do you add one?
Because we're playing on a Wednesday now and nobody else has to
instead of just trying to like cram it in you know I and hopefully when's
Christmas next year I don't know how that shit works. Hopefully Thursday. Yeah
because if it's a Thursday there's no problem. Just do it like Thanksgiving.
Boom yeah well that's an easy thing. Wednesday is probably if it falls on a
day where there isn't Tuesday would be a problem Wednesday would be a problem
that they would have to figure out but like Mike Taumann told us to talk good shit to the NFL about this. We won't say anything,
but you need to talk good shit about it. And he's like, you're asking a lot, especially
this late into a year with a playoff push happening and all bodies are banged up at
this point. Everybody in the NFL is banged up at this point.
And I'll be there on Christmas day, obviously on the call. And it's something you have to
discuss in my opinion because
Of how it affects the game because of how it affects some of these coaches decisions and things that are gonna go into this game
These guys whether it's game plan whether it's you know throughout the week how their bodies are getting ready whether it's throughout the course
Of the game if they need to manage reps or whatever it may be whether it's this week or the Christmas Day game
That is going to play a factor in it
So I'm certainly gonna bring it up and discuss it because I think it's something
that is not necessarily fans know how hard it is, but I don't think they truly understand
you guys obviously all know how difficult that is, especially going from a Saturday
to a 1pm game.
It's not even like it's a night game.
It's 1pm.
So it's something I'll discuss, but I'm looking forward to.
I think Netflix is really prepared.
I think they they obviously had some stuff during that Jake Paul fight and they're very confident
that they've got everything figured out and they put together a great crew.
So I'm looking forward to having some fun.
CBS is doing the production of it.
It'll be great.
Triple H said for when Monday Night Raw debuts on Netflix, January 6th, he was asked, are
you worried about the buffering issue that Netflix had with Jake Paul and Mike Tyson?
And his answer was, if there's 60 to 70
million people trying to watch we're okay, I mean
They're they're gonna they'll figure it out
Hopefully and I think Netflix understands after what happened in that particular thing can't happen again, right?
because that's all anybody really talked about anybody talked about like
If anybody thought Mike Tyson was gonna be able to hold up with his age you were wrong
And then also Netflix's buffering problem is disgusting.
That was kind of the two takeaways.
And Tyson's butt cheeks.
Yeah, you're right.
Yeah, a lot of Tyson cheeks out there.
Oh yeah.
A lot of Tyson cheeks out there.
I also don't think Raj is gonna,
I think Raj probably came in and was like,
hey, this is the NFL here.
Let's lock this down.
And I think that, I think it has been locked down. I think that's why the NFL here. Let's lock this down. And I think that it has been locked down.
I think that's why the NFL was so slow to kind of get
into any business partnerships with streaming people,
because they wanted to make sure that it was able to handle it
and everything like that.
Because I don't want to say olds run the NFL,
but older people run the NFL.
So they have a lot of questions about this new age.
And then whenever they're talking to linear TV people
and linear TV people who they've had relationships with
for decades are telling them all the problems
that could happen during the streaming thing.
I think they were kind of gun shy to it all.
So then when that Amazon deal gets done,
that was a massive like, prove it, you know,
prove they can happen.
They have success on Amazon.
I don't think there's been a single flop
except for people's internet connections,
I think the first like six weeks wasn't great.
But other than that, there's been no flub.
Then they go to Peacock, right?
For the playoff game, no flub in there.
So I think they're very like meticulous
on how it goes about going.
And I think the Netflix relationship's a very good idea.
I think it's a very good idea.
And good luck out there, James.
They have like 40 people, right?
They've staffed on their talent.
Bert Kreischer.
That's gonna be awesome.
The machine, obviously gonna be.
Yeah.
Uh-huh.
He's sidelined, what's he doing?
That's a good question.
I am excited to find out.
Just get ready for some zany stuff, my brother.
Bert's gonna be electrifying out there.
We all know that.
It's a stacked lineup from top to bottom.
Those Netflix relationships, though, are things that they can capitalize on.
Yeah.
You know, and kind of move with.
We just, I just did a little promo for it that'll go on Christmas with Shane Gillis
tires for the show Tires.
Oh.
We just did a little.
Is Shane on?
Netflix crossover.
Is Shane on NFL Christmas?
That promo will be, but no, he's not on the actual broadcast.
Son of a bitch.
Former D1 football player. Mm-hmm
People forget about that. He served
well
He did
Thank you, Shane. Thank you, Shane. What a legend. Yeah tire season two can't wait for can't wait
Cannot wait for tire season to gonna be on how do the Italians feel about tires good show? I
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Yeah.
Alright, good.
You gotta go around back though.
Alright, let's continue to talk a little bit about ball here.
Darius J. Butler has a question for you, J.
Yeah, speaking of legends.
Deegh has a question for J.
Deegh, J.
In front of age.
We got a lot of, a lot of.
My middle name is Justin.
What was Q's? I heard Q's.
Q's.
Yeah, it's Chuck Pagano.
The Thunderbird. The Thunderbird over there.
The Thunderbird, if you want to continue
with Coach Pagano.
Jadri, you know the Thunderbird?
Yeah, what happened there?
He moved.
No, I didn't get a robe.
I didn't get a robe.
Bird left the nest.
Wow.
Bird left the nest.
I remember when Pat met the Thunderbirds
for the first time.
Yeah, he was there.
I don't think he, I don't think Pat met the Thunderbirds. the first time. Yeah, he was there, James. I don't think Pat met him.
I remember.
I do remember.
I was on a different planet in that particular one.
I don't remember why we were doing Super Bowl Radio Row.
Yeah, it was that radio row over there.
Yeah, and I was being gifted by everybody that I met.
Hey, try this one, try this one, try this one.
And thank God nobody put anything else in there.
But I certainly headed north to the clouds there
and we walk in, legal there by the way,
it's a legal state.
The reason why we do it.
During the pickleball run too, so we're a little tired.
Yeah, a little wind, a little exhausted
because we've been playing all night.
Pickleball introduced Donnie Burge here to pickleball.
And then we, I walk in there,
I had no idea what that was, Jage.
I had no idea what I was walking into.
Neither did I.
My first view looking around, holy shit.
What?
A lot of people.
There's thousands of people.
Yeah.
And I had sunglasses go on immediately.
The move.
And it's like, I thought I was coming to a golf,
is this a golf event or a rock concert?
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
That's literally what I thought I was, it was awesome.
First person I ran to was Miz.
Miz had a lot of energy.
Came with a lot of energy.
Always.
And if there's an opportunity, Miz has taken it.
I don't even have to.
No, that range is over everything.
Don't even have to do it. Especially in the golf world. I
mean, he is.
So you were so nervous.
The Miz was very nervous. I talked to him before his shot.
Then he celebrated.
Hit the green. Rolled off shot. Then he celebrated. Yeah Hit the green. Yeah
Rolled off though. Oh, yeah
I actually ended up closer than him and I duffed on because it rolled up in there
He hit the green so he thought he had a celebration moment
That thing rolls all the way off
That's that sucks for the Miz to be clear
Just like when the Mizz hit that half court shot in the NBA All-Star game and it was half a second
Oh, man, it would have won the game would have been awesome didn't count so close
Don't get to have the moment. Of course Mizz doesn't get to have the mo. He was high-fiving Snoop. Oh, yeah
He was having a bad joke. That show was leaning back couldn't have it. That's Mizz football. Hey Mizz. We love you, buddy
He was just like an asshole at that event if I do recall what me
Do you remember that he had the whole I do I do you the pain yeah, thanks to her and Stuart stuff
Yeah, what an absurd thing now? Let's get back to ball
Please shall we D bunch has a back the ball specifically Dan Campbell football
MCDC had you tweeting about fighting Bears and all type of shit on Sunday
Obviously have lost a ton of guys on defense now Obviously you've lost a ton of guys on defense.
Now that you had a few days of sleep on it,
how do you feel about Dan Campbell's aggressive decisions
that he's been going forward?
How do you feel about Dan Campbell?
Well, I think him obviously after the game,
having time to think about it, even said it himself.
So like, I think it's, you don't want to crush him too much
because I think he knows, kind of hindsight 2020 but a lot of his
decisions the fourth down decisions even the one against the Packers where it's
like wow I don't I don't know how many people would do that but okay I get it
you believe in your team that's a the percentage chance of that being
successful was significantly higher than this onside kick choice now Now everybody keeps trying to bring up to me,
oh what about the Saints and the Super Bowl,
that was a crazy one, but you know,
why don't you talk about that?
You don't have, you have to understand,
the new rules have made this insane.
You have to declare you're doing it onside.
There is no element of surprise,
there is no chance to catch them off guard.
This is, the referee says they are going to try
an onside kick, the recovery team lines up to stop it and they recover it 93% of the time.
There were 12 minutes left in the game.
You were down by 10 points.
This is crazy.
And the people also saying, well, 7%, they weren't stopping the bill's offense.
So there was actually a better chance of them recovering that
onside than there was of them better chance of them recovering that onside
than there was of them stopping.
No, that's not true.
That's just not true.
You literally had a better chance to stop them.
So this didn't make sense in any capacity.
I think he realizes that.
I think everybody realizes it.
It was pretty wild.
Yeah, and you know, the conversation
that we've been having is the Lions defense
because they're so banged up
and it's what people were saying to you
about stopping Josh in the moment.
Like, yeah, this is like when Jeff Fisher
kicked three onside kicks in the first quarter
against Peyton Manning led Indianapolis Colts
when he was the Tennessee Titans.
He started the game with a surprise onside kick,
lined up as an onside kick, I think the second one,
and then the third one, same exact thing,
and I think they got two of them.
I think they got two of them or whatever,
because the Colts were surprised surprised and then when he was
interviewed he said yeah they're gonna get the ball at 40. Okay, wow that's two
first downs for these guys and Peyton's gonna get that but that message he sent
to his team there. You know imagine sitting in that meeting room as a defensive
player. He's like alright guys Peyton's gonna score either way so you guys suck so I'm gonna
on-site kick it every time. So you guys suck. So I'm on sidekick it every time
So Bill Belichick did this against Payton and the boys in the AFC championship game or
Division around no division. I was way to the fourth and two. Yeah No, it was regular season unless you're talking about the onside kick the fourth and two at time. I was regular season
Yeah, I thought was in playoffs. It was not in playoffs. No regular season
It was late in the season, right was it kind of playoffs? Nope, regular season. Kevin Falk. And it was late in the season, right?
Was it or?
Kind of late, yeah, but we started off first half,
great playing defense.
I was a Patriot at that time, and then late in the game,
Peyton made some adjustments.
He was just picking us apart.
At that point in the game,
as a defensive player that was playing, go for it.
Yeah, but.
Go for it.
In the game with Tom, Tom, come on baby.
Throw in to Kevin Falk, Westbrook. You boys go for it because I got to line up with Reggie Wayne in the slot and Dallas Clark
and Garcon, they were rolling.
They were cooking at that point.
But that's the difference.
Fourth and two is so much higher probability than the current onside kick.
That's what people, I'm so blown away that people are like, it's the same, he's always
been this aggressive. No, even going for it on fourth and 10
is significantly more possible
than these current onsite kicks.
And you can speak to it, you know all about the special.
Like these current onsite kicks,
it's basically, you're not getting it.
Yeah, the surprise element getting taken out of it
is certainly something.
You ever been on or receiving
any of a surprise onsite kick from another team?
Not a surprise, no. But there was one game where it's a team
We were trying to kick an onside kick at the end of the game
It was Bill O'Brien's first ever game as the coach and I went up to him. I said put me out there
I'm gonna go get it and he was okay, and he put me out there, and I did not get it. Yeah, I
Had a surprise onside kick against you guys right in the middle of your fucking feet. Oh, I wasn't out there
Yeah, cuz you're scared to be out there.
You're scared to be out there.
I would too if I were you.
That game still pisses me off
because it's on every single,
it's on every morning on the Pat McAtee Show introduction.
We put on the, look at me, look at me.
I can kick the ball, I can recover the ball.
And I caught it myself.
I mean, there's a lot of things that go,
there's a lot of elements to that particular play there that
really just kind of explain everything about me.
And that's why it's in there.
But boy, it was a great play, man.
Chuck asked me later if I wanted to do it again.
He's like, do we want to have the middle dribbler in there
again? I'm like, I don't think I'll ever be able to hit that
ball like that again.
We should go to the right.
It was brilliant.
It was cool.
It was so frustrating.
Cause then I had to go out there too.
I was sitting on the bench.
It was just ready to hang out.
We just scored, I think we just kicked a field goal.
Vinatieri just kicked.
We were down deep in that game.
And then we started to come back and
it was just too big of a deficit.
That was, again, TY over the top every time.
TY was nicknamed the ghost.
Do you know why he was nicknamed the ghost? Because every time he played the Houston Texans, he would disappear behind their defense every time. TY was nicknamed the ghost. Do you know why he was nicknamed the ghost?
Because every time he played the Houston Texans,
he would disappear behind their defense every time.
He's gotta go for a 180, 200, I forget.
It was like fucking insane.
And literally they called him,
after the second time he played Houston,
that guy's a ghost back there.
And it was like, yes he is.
That is a-
I know the exact play.
I know exactly what happened on the back end.
I know exactly the coverage. I know I can happened on the back end. I know exactly the coverage
I know I can picture it clear as day in my head right now
glory day
You guys know you're right there now
You don't forget about the past talking about right now the Texans back-to-back
AFC South champions.
It's gotta be fantastic to be a Texans fan right now.
How do you feel about the current state of the Texans?
You think they can go on a run here?
Do you think these, uh, what is it?
Three games in 11 days is really going to bite him in the ass.
Cause they're also one of those teams that has to play that with that quick turnaround.
I think they needed the bi-week that they just had. I do. I think they needed the bye week that they just had.
I do. I think they were going through it a little bit.
I think they needed the bye week to kind of reset, recoup,
came out, get a nice win.
And now on Saturday, they've got the Chiefs
with either a slightly banged up Mahomes
or no Mahomes. We'll find out.
Who knows? And it's a chance for them.
Three games in 11 days can either be really, really tough
on you or it can be a major catalyst. And I think this team had a chance for them three games in 11 days can either be really really tough on you or it can be
A major catalyst and I think this team had that chance to recoup now their offense does still need to figure it out a bit
I mean their defense is playing lights out the Neil Hunter, Will Anderson jr. Stingley. These guys are playing great ball
Special teams. I mean that special teams set them up for this touchdown right here with CJ de Nico in the red zone
but the offense just there's just something little there that hasn't quite been
clicking and I think if they can get that going they can make a deep run but
if the offense doesn't start to return to what they were able to do last year
it's gonna be tough. All this is happening without Aziz Al-Shair who will
be back for the playoff run so you think him returning them coming off a
bye being ready to go I think Houston Texans can go on and represent the AFC South
in proper fashion.
Amen.
Enjoy.
Somebody has to.
Somebody has to.
We're still in the hut.
Yeah, we're lurking.
Did you hear that?
Bannit.
Bannit.
Yeah.
Bannit.
Bannit, bannit, bannit, bannit, bannit, bannit, bannit, bannit, bannit, bannit, bannit, bannit, bannit. It's Colts right now, we're a bunch of sharks.
Necton mentality, brother.
Isn't there a way for all seven of these teams to be locked in after this week as well?
So there is a chance, and for the Colts to get in, I do believe the Ravens would have
to lose two of their last three games, and somebody else would have to win out, and somebody
else would have to lose two games. So I games and somebody else would have to win out and somebody else would have to lose two games.
So I mean, never know.
Still possible.
Crazier things have happened, haven't they?
Chargers could lose to the Pats.
6.8% was the exact percentage you're looking for
for those onside kicks.
So whenever you say 93, actually 93.2,
it's not even a full 7%.
People are rounding up the success rate on those things.
Whenever you talk about that.
Is there any, do you, as a specialist,
do you think there's any way to make it,
obviously if they could, they would make it better,
but like it sucks right now.
It just sucks, it's not fun.
They've been slowly killing the on-site kick for a while.
And the overloads, the amount of people,
the run-up, everything,
and then now having to declare that you're doing it.
And I don't love doing it and I don't
love it legitimately I don't love it I think the onside kick was like a part of
the game that we had at least at Colts because Chuck believed in me I think
and I worked on him and there was an opportunity to actually get him and
change the game and steal a possession and things like that but with all the
rules it's fucking about they're trying to make it to a fourth and 15 or whatever
like it feels like yeah cuz there you essentially eliminate the onside kick and things like that, but with all the rules, it's fucking important. They're trying to make it to a fourth and 15 or whatever.
Like it feels like,
cause you essentially eliminate the on-side kick
when you have no overload, no run-up,
and you can't surprise anybody.
So that's basically just saying like,
this is not going to be a successful thing.
Kickers also, I think stopped working on them
because of the lack of success.
So why would you waste any practice time?
Because to work on those, like a high hop,
that's a lot of hip,
and then you're banging your toe directly into the ball, which hurts like shit.
So it's like you're ripping your groin and your hip,
and you're bruising your toe off the ball.
So why would you sign up to do that when there's little to no chance of you recovering?
So I think kickers have gotten worse at onside kicks as well,
as opposed to what they have been in the past.
But like Bates hit two good ones.
He had a middle dribbler and he hit one to the right.
They were good. He's a weapon.
But I think they're going to do the I think it's going to be a fourth down.
I think that's coming.
I think it'll be awesome.
What? Fourth down play.
The fourth of 15. Yeah, I think that'll be awesome.
That's because you hate specialists.
Do you think they could bring the overload back because hitting has gotten a little
more like safe, if you will.
Yeah, safe. Fourth down in 20 on their own 25 is the potential alternative
that has been pitched in the past fourth and 20 on their own 25 lecture
which would be electrifying could you imagine MC DC rolling that out 12
minutes left golf we're going on 25 you don't get this our audience score in position 10-point game now definitely a 0-25. You don't get this already in scoring position.
10 point game now.
Definitely a 13 point game.
You don't pick this up.
Ready?
Set, go.
All right, here we go.
Ben Johnson, drop a 20 yard play.
Yeah.
Just draw this thing up.
Hook and ladder.
Even that, even that already,
I feel like the percentages are better
because you could catch something lucky.
You got a passenger interference call.
You get something like,
the percentage are already way better there.
Yeah.
10-10 game in the fourth, which has certainly happened. Offenses have been non-existent
so now there's the same exact outcome probably as there was for an onside kick but every once in a
while there's going to be a team and I hope this if this does happen with the fourth and 20 on
their own 25 team gets hot and they say check say check ball ball game, make it take it.
And they just run that fucker.
Just 28 nothing before the other team even touches the ball.
Just boom, boom, boom, boom.
We want the ball and we're going to score four straight times.
Your defense is crap.
Could you fathom, could you fathom the third, fourth and 20
just in a row in this first quarter?
Team scores on one big hitter.
We want, yeah, let's do this again.
Bang, another one.
Bang, another one, 21 zip.
Middle of the-
Defense just roasted out there.
Dead.
Just roasted.
Dead.
That would be awesome.
That was one of the stipulations, Oz.
You had to be losing, unfortunately.
Because remember, we talked about that possibility.
When the Chiefs were rolling, it was like, no, they're gonna be up 35 nothing before
anyone even has a chance to do anything.
To be clear, they haven't passed a rule yet.
So we think you should pull that one out.
Let it make it take its situation take place.
If that's what the teams wanna do.
If MC DC wants to send his offense out on the field and
has his defense have zero snaps for the entire first half. Let the guy do it.
But we do have to be losing.
I mean, this is all speculative, obviously, but you have to be losing and
doesn't have to be the fourth quarter.
Could you do it?
I am because then I can see team goes up seven zero, you know, boom, boom.
You could you could miss the extra points.
So it's seven six.
You can also on site it immediately.
How do we game this thing?
How do we how do we game it a little
bit that's what football people will do and I think the NFL figured out there
has been I think six other teams that have gone three games in 11 days I think
there's been six other teams that have gone I just got a message from a source
a source sure within the the stats world of the. And they're all teams that are not in the playoffs.
So I don't know.
Hey, good luck to the four powerhouses
that are playing three and 11 nonetheless.
AQ Shipley has a question for you, JJ.
JJ, with a couple of weeks left in the season,
what teams do you see that are built
to withstand the playoffs and make a run?
Okay.
I mean, I think this is a real deep playoff squad. Because I always, for this year for some reason, I keep looking at the Ravens.
And I think of the Ravens and I think of their losses and, you know,
when I immediately think of the Ravens, I think of just Juggernaut.
I think of Derrick Henry and how he's running wild.
I think of Lamar playing at an absolute MVP caliber again.
And I think of how difficult they are to stop stop yet they still sit there with five losses. So they're going
to be there going on the road to somebody as it sits right now and that is a tough,
tough task for anybody. I think the Chargers with their defense, I think Jesse Minter's
got that defense playing lights out and somebody's going to have to face that and it could be possibly somebody like the Bills trying to go up against that
defense so and then you flip it over the NFC and you got the Packers who are
sitting there right now as I think what six or six seed that I mean they're ten
and four and they're sitting third place in their division it's it's a very very
deep difficult one and then you look at some of these other teams like the Rams
started out what without four game losing streak
early in the season.
Now they're sitting there at eight and six
and they're all of a sudden, you're like,
holy shit, can the Rams do this?
I wouldn't want to face the Bucks.
This is a really deep, tough playoff.
I really like the Vikings.
I think Brian Flores and the defense,
I think their edges in John Grenard
and the Andrew Van Ginkle are lights out.
I think they're extremely underrated. I think they are
wildly underrated and people don't give them enough credit. So it's gonna be a hell of a playoff scene set this year.
Anybody that gets in has a chance to go on the run. Obviously Eagles are a team that we all
think are gonna be able to go. And that'd be great for the Johns. One team that
we thought was gonna be able to go just And that'd be great for the Johns. One team that we thought was going to be able to go just
forever, seemingly. This was their window. Even though they hadn't won a Super Bowl yet, they had
had massive success every year and there was no different of expectation on this particular season.
It's gone a different direction. Ty has a question for you. Yeah, JJ, it's kind of cooled off now,
but the whole Devondre Campbell situation with the 49ers was a big deal last week. Have you ever been in a situation like that where a guy just refuses to go into the game?
It seems like that's happened more this year than it has in the past and also like I mean
obviously for a guy like that who's you know, I mean he was starting all year, but then
For whatever reason, you know
It goes south like is there anything you can say to kind of try to try to change that cuz Nick Bosa said like I heard him in
The locker room before the game or at halftime
He was bitching about it already
But I decided just not to say anything and just let sleeping dogs lie and then obviously everything blew up and it was a massive deal
Yeah, I've never had it happen midgame. I have had it happen
You know if you're out of the playoff scene and there's two games
left, all of a sudden a guy catches a phantom hamstring or comes down with a sickness or
something and you're like, okay, I see what's going down here.
But I've never had it happen mid-game.
And I think the way that the Niners players are talking about it tells you everything
you need to know about it because you generally, you know, if there was something else going
on there, if there's something like, they're pretty clear about what's happening.
And the hardest thing is, how are you going in that locker room and looking at a guy like Dre Greenlaw in the eye
when he, you know, had to fight back from the injuries and is coming back and is trying to do everything he possibly can to be out there,
somebody else out there who's battling through multiple injuries and just doing whatever he can to be on the field for his guys like
That the locker room is is a sacred place man
and like if you're not going to go out there and lay it all on the line for your boys, it's
It's it's just it's a you can't do that. Yeah, they came out and said as such too players
Yeah, you know they came out and were like didn't even know that was possible have no idea what's going on
But is that a sign of a bigger?
Culture issue?
What the hell's going on out there?
CMC being injured, obviously a massive deal.
The injuries they've had to deal with, obviously tough,
but it's like, they just feel like a different team
than they've ever felt.
Don't you agree?
Oh, absolutely.
I mean, I had them in the NFC Championship
before the season started, like many people did.
And no idea, like there's no, obviously when you was guy CMC it hurts but they're
they've been able to scheme it up they've been able to find ways IU, Devo,
Kato I mean like think of the weapons that they have on both sides of the ball
it just it doesn't really add up right now and I think they're just as
baffled as everybody else they're trying to figure it out. Let's head to hammer
BAM! BAM! Tom Diggs what's your question for James? Yeah, James. I wanted to ask you about Buddha Baker cuz he is a guy that you know
Well, he just got a huge extension and we were watching him earlier today like
How good he is is he one of the most underrated defensive players in the league? Do you think?
Buddha is one of those guys that you absolutely love to have in your locker room because he is going to bring it
every single day practice meeting game weight room doesn't matter what it is
Buddha Baker is gonna be the same guy every day and that is an intense badass
dude every day he's gonna come up into the defensive line he'll talk shit to
the defensive line and say I'm gonna get more sacks and you I'm gonna get more
TFLs and you he'll talk shit to the defensive line and say, I'm going to get more sacks than you. I'm going to get more TFLs than you. He'll talk shit to the offensive
line and say, I can beat you. I'll run you over. He'll, he'll forearm shiver a tackle
on his way to a TFL. He does not care. And then he'll also drop into the deep third and
pick off one of the best receivers in the league. He's, he's a lot of fun to play with.
He's extremely deserving and he's been one of the perfect trendsetters
for what the Arizona Cardinals want to be moving forward in. That is the embodiment
of what they would like to be. I love Buddha Baker. He's been on our show a couple times.
I think he's been great. And there was a time where the Cardinals were potentially not going
to pay him. You remember that? Oh yeah. And then they end up paying them. Now they're
doing it again. It feels like they understand who they have. I think Cardinals fans understand
who they have. The NFL hasn't got a chance to fully experience the Buddha Baker experience because
Cardinals haven't been in primetime games as much now
Hopefully going forward they're able to do that with Jonathan Gannon and with Kyler Murray playing his best ball James Connor to being able to run
People over can they get into primetime into the light?
That's how we'll find out if people will be introduced it to Buddha Baker. He's fun player. Yeah, he's got he's go so fast
Yeah, he's so fast everywhere that he goes. We're talking. He's one of those guys
He's one of those guys that just like doesn't he doesn't in his head
He's so much bigger than his body actually is which is awesome. You can literally see it play itself out
Yeah, we're talking even if you don't know where you're going, which
he does high football IQ, just go for somewhere fast. It's like some they say in football. But
now that I've talked to all that we're friends so I can say it now that I've talked all that good
stuff about him still did get hawked by DK McCaffrey. Yeah. Big time. Yeah. People remember that.
What a scene that. Get over here. That beam was forever.. All right as we wrap up here on ESPN
I think we need to let the people figure out
The internet had questions and we put out a bird call

Now allegedly it's going to the Supreme Court. Do you know that, Jage?
I have been aware of this for a couple of years. I wanted to invest in TikTok at one point. So I became very interested
in the inner workings of how this all goes.
Friends with them?
D by 10, Jade.
So what's going on over there, Jade? Just so we can full transparent.
I didn't. I'm right here. I didn't so hello Shishi knee. Yeah

She she needs thank you. Yeah, I'm actually more cool. This is the same thing talking about the damn Thunderbirds. It's unbelievable
It's unbelievable. I know more about this guy's little cult than he did. I don't know if that's his name
I don't know. Please please sure is is all right gravy the sleeves for sure Shasha I mean I've been
to China so I do know is that an actual Thunderbirds shirt do they have no they

It is a nice sweatshirt.
Thanks.
Appreciate it.
I've been wearing some good sweatshirts.
You have.
The one you had earlier, still.
The one earlier was a good one.
The Remington.
The Unstated one's a good one.
He had a Remington trophy.
He had a Christmas sweater on a couple weeks ago.
The Thanksgiving one.
He, it was a Remington trophy hoodie, 4X, that only he had because it was given to the winner of the he it was a Remington trophy hoodie 4x that only he
had because it was given to the winner of the Remington Award that was that was
a very cool one but then when he put the Thunderbirds on we said wow that outfit

I mean your your response right now is a little concerning
You know what he's asking but you're not answering the only way you get out of thunderbirds is in jail
Or a coffin is that is that what thunderbirds?
No, who's that? Is that the port worker? No, I believe that's mafia. Yeah, that's kind of the way
Were the pickleball games code?
Was that code?
Oh, I didn't think about that.
Because Ryan Smith, remember, he was saying.
Yeah, pickle in somebody's bowl.
Or the underground.
Yeah, the billionaire's basement.
Pickleball, yes.
Yeah.
You should come over to the billionaire's basement.
Let's see what you got.
Oh!
See what you got.
See what you got.
Uh-oh.
Now I don't know what's going on over there.
Do I have to wear a robe?
Could you imagine those super wealthy people
in that Phoenix basement watching
AQ and JJ Watts sparring from, look at this.
We got a little, we got a orangutan taking on a gorilla.
Look what we have happening.
Doesn't get better than this.
I mean, this is the life that we need.
It's amazing.
That would've been good.
Phoenix, great city. Great city, come is the life that we need. It's amazing. I've been good Phoenix great city great city
Come on out JJ left it
What she just set him out? That's cuz you guys didn't invite him with a Thunderbirds. That's right. You're plenty of time
I didn't have enough beads. I didn't earn them
Well, you're on him by giving back the community not by doing anything you're thinking right now in your head. Okay
beads you do
Okay. Ah, man, it's beads, you do, uh.
Ah.
Why?
Let's go to the next question.
I want to let you know everything he said, malorky.
Nothing gives me more pride than making AJ laugh.
So that one, that one hurt.
Well, you know, the, uh, Kevin Bubba McCabe,
it's a good Irish lad here.
At K-Mac McCabe.
McCabe.
Hashtag Ash Jage.
Not to be confused.
With McQuade, obviously.
Hashtag Ash Jage.
Who is the best coach in the NFL right now?
That's a good question.
You know, Tone has an AP vote for coach of the year.
Is the best coach in the NFL and coach of the year the same person, Jage?
And who would you say that is?
I mean, we kind of know about like how the awards work.
It's a little bit more of like what's happening right now or who hasn't gotten in a while type
thing. The best coach in the NFL is Andrew Reid. Why? Because they have the most wins,
least amount of losses? No I don't think people appreciate how much, how hard it
is to do what they've done not only over the last couple years but obviously this
year not being quite the same couple years, but obviously this year
Not being quite the same team not having them but still
Being 12 and one and still being the best and finding different ways to win
I mean he is literally he's get gotten all those guys to buy in to we are going to win how we have to
Not how we want to it's not going to be the most stylish It's not going to be the most flashy not everybody's going to get all these crazy stats
But we are going to win games because this is what we have to do. They have the stylish, it's not going to be the most flashy, not everybody's gonna get all these crazy stats, but we are going to win games
because this is what we have to do. They have the, I believe it's the longest
amount of plays per drive during the Mahomes era and they have the least
amount of explosive plays during the Mahomes era, but they're, because that's
just, they're just matriculating the ball down the field, their defense is playing
good and Andy Reid has gotten everybody to buy into that, he's got the right
coaches, he's just done such a great job. All the while eating cheeseburgers. Their defense is playing good and Andy Reid has gotten everybody to buy into that. He's got the right coaches
He's just done such a great job all the while eating cheeseburgers
Exactly. We said I'm a cheeseburger on national cheeseburger day. He said thank you. Mm-hmm
And he's I think his players all love him. He is a attention to detail accountability type coach too, right?
Didn't you play for him? Yeah big time. He's all about dressing like you play in the game. So he's it's tight jerseys tucking your shirts in
I mean, he does everything very detailed and they love him over there. God. They love him over there
How could you not if you win that much they win all it's just so easy to overlook
Obviously because he has Patrick Mahomes. He has some of these great players. He got spags as the coordinator
But you have to understand and respect how hard head coaching is in this league
He's done a great job at it. And Toby's special teams guy.
I mean, you're talking about three Hall of Famers basically,
coordinator positions.
I think Toby's situations guy too.
I saw him telling Andy Reid a couple things about a penalty or
not taking a penalty time when they were doing it.
Feels like they're all on the same page running in the same direction trying to
accomplish something that's never been done.
Are they gonna be able to do it this year, chiefs?
From what you've seen, you think they're gonna be able to win three straight here?
Playoffs are tough, man. Playoffs, people will expose shit in the playoffs. I mean gonna be able to do it this year chiefs from what you've seen you think you're gonna be Able to win three straight here playoff for tough man playoffs people expose shit in the playoffs
I mean, that's just how it is
They've been the ones that have been exposing others over the last few years
Is that gonna remain or is there a chance that they run into somebody that's you know humming at this?
I think there's there's no doubt. There's a chance
This is the debate we had in the green room this week on CBS as we just keep going back
This is the debate we had in the green room this week on CBS as we just keep going back
It's just is this is this the Chiefs where they figure it out as the season goes on and then once the playoffs come Like they have that clutch team
They just figured out at the end of the game whether it's a kick going off the crossbar whether it's you know
Find in a way blocking a field goal. They just find a way are they gonna do that again?
Is it gonna keep in the Chiefs or are they just patching it together and
band-aiding it together week by week right now and come to playoff somebody's
going to come in and, and just take that all down.
We, it's obviously goes back and forth.
I have no idea, but I think Pat we're going to see on Saturday, if he's healthy
or not, like, do you wait, do you not wait, do you let them get fully healthy?
Or do you play for that first round by so then he's healthy or not like do you wait do you not wait do you let him get fully healthy or do you play for that first round by so then
he's healthy later there's a lot going on with these three games in 11 days
Carson Wentz is the quarterback of the Chiefs be fun I'm excited to see what
Andy Reid does with Carson. Alright you're gonna break four tackles on this play
need you to because we got Xavier Worthy actually running you see what he's
running this is the route he's running it's whoop-de-woo they're calling it
triple whoop-de-woo So he'll be down here.
All you got to do is break this tackle, spin around this guy, bounce off the ball
here, pivot, find your footing. These guys should be exhausted. This is a 15-second
play. Xavier Worthy will be in this corner waiting for you. Mm-hmm. That we're
calling it whence. Only one guy who can do it. You're the guy. Get in there. Good
luck. There's a chance that happens and there's a chance of Patrick Mahomes is proven time and time and time and time and time again
What do you think timelines mean nothing to this guy timelines mean absolutely nothing to this room?
But he'll be out there
He does have Wolverine blood and he also I think has this mentality and potentially from his dad
Because the way his dad played baseball and I think the way he grew up
It's like if you can play, you play.
Like, what are we even talking about?
Do you think because Christmas is such a quick turnaround?
In my eyes, if I'm Patrick Wilhams,
I am not, very clearly.
Sure, sure.
It'd be so cool though.
So cool.
Gonna have to be tough, gonna have to handle a lot of things,
but you're Patrick Wilhams.
I don't play on Saturday.
I wait for Christmas.
But he has defied timelines
literally every single year seemingly.
So I'm vastly different than he is.
I have a question for the guys in this group
that obviously played ankle sprains.
You guys have had them low high, whatever it may be.
There are two very distinct schools of thought on them
that I've seen teammates and myself try both
I'm curious what you guys have tried obviously you have the rest ice elevate all that stuff put it in a boo
Don't move it and then I've seen other people that
100% believe in wrapping it up moving it like wrapping it up in one of those
Stretchy bands moving it around flossing it getting in heat, trying to get stuff flowing through there.
Which ones have you guys done and which do you like?
I've done it a million times.
I mean, once it goes down from being a giant club foot, then I think you got to move that
thing around.
It always felt better once you got out there and you actually played or you practiced on
it.
It felt like you loosened it up a little bit. So you got to hope it doesn't swell back up though once you do
that.
Yeah once you loosen it up and it starts feeling good then it hurts more the next day now you're
on a carousel with this ankle for the time have you ever for a corner that's a tough
a lot but I'm a big big range of motion guy it's fast as quickly I got a band pumping
I'm like you said if it is super swollen you
got to drain it maybe or get some of that fluid out of there I'm a big range
of motion I hate keeping in the boot keeping it you know wrapped up tight I
hate all that shit but you said rice no rice yeah what is it rest ice
elevation elevate yeah oh that's how you heal yeah that's how you thought you put
it in rice like a phone yeah I thought you was trying to drive out trying to dehydrate your ankle good
Rest ice compression elevate. Yep. How about you? Thank you. I think there's a combination of both
I think you have to start off with you know
All the ice and try and get as much swelling out as you can all the what's it called?
I have a mat have a mat all that stuff just kind of flush everything push everything but then as the week goes then then we we get on the field we wrap it up put all the
whatever you want to call it the floss stuff on there to kind of give all the stuff and
Get out on the field and get it moving. Yeah
Forget all the names now playing I don't have to wrap anything AJ. Hey, do you remember John Simon? Of course
I don't know if I can wrap anything up. AJ, AJ, you remember John Simon?
Of course.
Yeah, he's the one who, he was the first one that I saw
who he got, he sprained his ankle very, very badly.
And 30 seconds later, he had that floss
and he just wrapped it around, he was moving it.
And he was in the training room and I was like,
what are you doing, man?
Like the trainers are coming over with an ice pack.
And he was like, get that shit away from me.
He goes, I got this.
And he just wrapped it and was moving around walking like
Doing as much movement as humanly possible and he literally was at practice the next day and from that moment forward
I was like, I'm never ice in my ankle again. So that sounds like that's who you are. You're Simon
You want with that when I switched I switched completely me like I don't want this isn't medical advice for anybody
This is just what I did
I used to be the ice guy like the stem like all that type of stuff I I do believe in Hiv and Mat. AQ is absolutely right on that.
Hiv and Mat gets all that swelling out. Beautiful. But I am now a wrap it up, move it, get that
thing. I don't want it to stiffen up. I don't want it to be in a boot. I don't want it to
be iced because as soon as it locks up, it's so difficult to unlock. Again, not medical
advice. Just what I did. So I was like, sign some sand to walk on.
If you could walk on some sand, man,
that's the best rehab you could do for your ankle.
Because you have to strengthen your ankle
while you're walking on sand
because the instability, right?
And that kind of it's like.
Oh yeah, all the little stabilizers and stuff
when you think about all those uneven steps and pushing.
Yeah, I think walking on sand is the best.
That's why.
Get in the water too.
Yeah, I got it.
Water like the pools and stuff.
Water's great.
Running, get the flexibility, all that. those treadmills at the bottom of pools
That's a good advancement in technology. So we think the people you felt really cool when you're using this
And then the side shot. Look at your gate here. You see
You know, you start to question yourself pretty heavily when you watch yourself walk man, you're like, jeez
I walk weird never You ever do that?
Is that how I always look walking?
Just so I know.
Yeah, it's pretty, you're back to normal.
Really?
Yikes.
That's what I'd look like normally?
Yeah.
All right, we need to put, I'm happy to hear the knees good,
but we need to change some other things in my life.
Let's go to another question from X,
which became a number four or number three trend. I forget which one
I forget you I thought I got up to two. I'm not sure really Jade still got the juice
Thank you to everybody for participating. I don't I don't see the hashtag in this
So obviously this did not help the entire thing hashtag ask China just follows Katrina
He just he's just a follower. He saw it. It looks like it was probably a reply. Yeah, I see moves reply
That's on me. It's okay
Good eyes think it's gonna be a good question
hashtag ask
Gage
What was your favorite part of visiting Detroit last weekend? And when are you joining the Lions? That's good question from Katrina
I think a lot of people up in Detroit are wondering the same damn thing. Yep bills get a win. How do you feel a
Fan offered me a 99 million dollar contract for the remainder of the season and I said I would sign that so whenever that
paperwork comes in happy to do it
My favorite part of visiting Detroit
Not a bad idea that that's my other favorite we talked about this before but like again
We saw another crazy gruesome injury that leg
That was terrible. We were on the field and we saw that happen
That was terrible, but I love that fans are like all of our defenders are hurt
We need you to come out like you think I just watched that guy snap his leg and I really want to come step on the
field now
It's crazy, but my favorite part of being Detroit was hands down the people. I love people in Detroit are awesome
They've been incredible to me in my whole career.
They're great people.
And then that Coney dog, that Coney dog was.
You were really getting after it, huh?
You were really getting after it.
Really enjoyed it.
Really enjoyed it.
It was, I was hungry.
I did not think it was gonna be as good as it was.
It had a ridiculous amount of mustard on there,
chili, onions, but lights out.
And Jim Nance and Matt Ryan are talking over top of you,
obviously, as you realize, oh, there's people here,
after the first bite.
I think you were thinking about taking one bite,
but then as you were experiencing it, hold the phone.
Good place.
This thing is damn good.
Then you're trying to sneak in another bite
while this very important serious, you know, boys.
And do they have an ISO shot on Jim now?
He's the one talking. Am I still on camera? Is Jim coming back to Matt Ryan? No, boys. And do they have an ISO shot on Jim now? He's the one talking.
Am I still on camera?
Is Jim coming back to Matt Ryan?
No. Yep.
I just didn't want a question coming my way, man.
I was like, just stop looking this way as soon as you look the other way.
And halfway through it, I realized that it was basically the Tim Robinson.
I think you should leave skit and he's a Detroit Lions fan.
So I was like, all right, let's let's let's play this up a little bit
Shit was good though, man. I mean somebody slaps down a Coney dog in front of your face. You can't not eat it
Did you start in Jared Goff chance? I?
did I Still I tried to start Jared Goff chant and they started chanting my name. I
Said cuz they we did a whole pre-rehearsal where I was like, alright guys. Here's what's gonna happen
I'm gonna say Jared Goff you guys chant Jared Goff
So as they introduced us all in the desk JB introduces us person by person as he introduced me
He said three time NFL the consequence player JJ watt and I said JB they got a quarterback
But they had already started into a JJ watt chant because JB said my name stop it was a
mess let the pop die let the people change your name don't be stepping on
the people I don't have I don't have I don't know I have the free reign of
time wise we are drew Kaliski our producer is like hey listen that's
where you are wrong if there is a JJ watt chant happening you are not
stepping on top of that you'd be an asshole to step on top of that then he
let them come back down to earth a little bit yes JJ watts in your city
you don't say that obviously you're welcome but you think that you think
that certainly but this isn't my city you know this isn't about me this is about
and then you get right into come on
Change but it was the it was the perfect to humble change
The bills and the Lions fan bases. They're such like nice good people
they started the Buffalo Bills fans started doing their their chant the you know the
Let's go Buffalo. Let's go and then the lions were doing jerry gulf but they were pausing
to let each other go it wasn't like a no fuck you you're in our city it was like a okay your turn
now it's our turn it was it was hilarious let's go sena sena sucks yeah anytime you can fit in the
opposite in the middle of the chant that's when he gets some real good crowd work happening in there I'm I love that they were chanting JJ watt though
because it was Buffalo fans and Detroit fans not like there was a blog saying
hey we're doing a JJ watt chant they just did that in rehearsal thing don't
do that don't do that they know have confidence that they know just have
confidence that I'm always worried that they aren't gonna hear me that's my that
was my fear well that's why I went into the microphone people hate it there watching TV, but I gotta make sure what do you got?
What do you got for Notre Dame? What's the Notre Dame chant? So a lot of Hoosiers gonna be there
So obviously got the Hoosiers chance Notre Dame. I don't recall
Rudy you can always start a Rudy chant
Lou Holtz maybe a Lou Holtz chant. Lou Holtz, maybe a Lou Holtz chant.
Yeah, I would play.
Charlie Weiss, maybe touchdown Jesus.
Jimmy Claussen.
You got you got to just start
bringing a new Rockne speech.
You have to just start the new
Rockne speech. Think they would be
knowledgeable enough to keep that
thing going.
Notre Dame.
Remember, we're up there for college
game day. What was that?
Two years ago.
Yeah. Yeah.
That place was very cool.
They are all in.
So awesome. Yeah, that was very that you walk around like it that place was very cool. They are all in so awesome
Yeah, that was very that you walk around like it's that would be cool. It's like a high school private
It's like you're literally walk around like a private. It feels like you're
That was a very nice cool place to be you could feel that it was like a special place the way they all viewed it
So I'm excited to get back up there a lot of Hoosiers fans gonna be up there though a lot of Hoosiers
No, they're damn fans inside. They'll go inside outside
We're gonna get my little I'm gonna keep my run go go go go. We're not gonna stop. Don't get across that goal line
That's new Rodney I believe
What a speech man if you led them in that that would be fucking awesome you should do it I
Don't know if that's my thing. They stand on a stool. Chair. Yeah. They go nuts.
Maybe.
What if I go fly
Irish Fly
on a road
to victory
You know?
Maybe they'll jump in on that.
Do an Our Father. Lord in Heaven.
Hallow be thy name. That would run.
That will be done. On earth as it Lord in heaven hallow be thy name that would run that will be done
on earth as it is in heaven keep going give us this day our daily bread and
forgive us from as we forgive those oh fuck oh so close forgive us our
trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us again deliver us
lead us not in temptation but deliver us from evil rise king the kingdom power and glory
Amen, I get that down by sorry said in locker rooms locker rooms forever so much in locker. They go fucking nuts
Geez, you could be any religion in the world and you know that you see touchdown Jesus back there
This pop our father
Lord heaven you could hit him with a Mary
Queen of victory. I don't know what that is. They'd all yell pray for us. Mary
Queen. We did that. Yeah. What is that? It's just like yeah. Mary Queen the
victory. That's where you go down like six or seven of them right? You're like
Mary Queen of victory. Pray for pray for us That tiger dick. Yeah
Maybe suck that our dick bitch maybe
Responses
I think so that would be a good heel turn though. Mary, Mary queen of victory.
Okay. And this is like a, uh, Catholic school thing. Yeah.
Did you go to Catholic school? Seems like, you know, a lot of these things.
No, but I mean locker rooms, literally like the team chaplain or whatever, always gets up and says a prayer. But at Wisconsin, uh,
father Tom also would come in to the team meeting like before,
and he would list off like 10, 10 of those.
And we'd have to
say pray for us after every one JJ was with the Easter bee we forgot oh yeah
Jackie speed was running that thing he was doing the redfish bluefish stuff
yeah which also might play another day that's what Jesus do maybe one fish to
speaking of speaking of team meetings got up in the spoke in front of the team
before divisional playoff game night before the game. Who?
Easterby?
Jack Easterby?
Did they ask him to?
They asked him to?
Who'd you lose to?
What'd he ask them to?
What are you talking about?
You could just pop up.
Jack, listen, not his fault.
He was promoted from FCA guy to president coach, general manager of an NFL team in two years.
No.
Not his fault.
Obviously he's going to take the opportunity. What was his message? Was it? Because we saw him No. Not his fault. Obviously he's gonna take the opportunity.
What was his message? Was it? Because we saw him speak.
Were you guys receptive? You guys were receptive?
I don't want to go too deep into that.
Is that what started you and Bill O'Brien's fistfight?
No.
No, it's not.
I didn't fistfight Bill O'Brien.
Wow.
Okay. Happy holidays. Alright.
We won't talk about that, Brian NFL holiday remix time that's offseason conversation
What you did pick them up off the ground his little feats for doing like this
This could be your life right now. That's what you want
I don't even remember how this started. I love that it's rolled, but I don't even remember how this all began
I was or news. You did it. Yeah
There's footage somewhere. Yeah. No,
no, we've gotten it. We've gotten some good battles before, but no, no physical confrontations.
Great. Yeah. Nothing like the basement. Billy Oh is a dog. He's not everybody. Yeah. He'd
mix it up. Yeah. He's not scared. Tea kettle. Yeah. Yeah. What's the uh, was it in Boston
the north end? What's the that's one that's an area Yeah, it's an area
Yeah, some good bars down there. It's been some scums. Plenty. Do you hang out in Boston often?
No, you shouldn't there
Like three times in my life. I've enjoyed it really had a good time there. I've never gone out in Boston. I don't think
we should
Heard it's pretty Pittsburgh like right? Yeah, there's there like I feel like it's great
The setup is very similar like when I went to Pittsburgh
That's how I felt about it very dissimilar setup different pockets like the north end what he's talking about
It's like very Italian you can get like unbelievable. So that's the most Pittsburgh like part
Yeah, but like then you talk about South Side, which I got to experience once like that's like South Boston
Like then you talk about Southside which I got to experience once like that's like South Boston
Mmm strip. Yeah strip bunch of bars nice. You guys got casinos up there encore They open up a casino like five six years ago, but that's like an ever it like you gotta take a fair downtown
No, Pittsburgh adding our rivers downtown was big deal. Sorry just casino adding to downtown was a yeah
But same exact type of thing like where you got to take like a 15 20 minute drive
Bingo, yeah How familiar are you with downtown Boston Lake Lake bar scene pretty my D line coach?
Matt Burke is from there and he was telling me a story about a bar
I don't always remember him saying it was under a bridge
I believe it was right by Fenway because he would go there and then walk to the games
Yeah, any chance you would have any idea? Probably Lansdowne Pub.
That's like the famous one on the corner.
Like it's on the bridge because under the bridge is like the highway.
But like, yeah, that Lansdowne's right there.
That's like after the Red Sox won.
I forget what it was.
They actually brought it up in the documentary that just came out.
I think it was after they won like the ALCS or the ALDS.
They went to Lansdowne Pub, like in their gear.
Boston, good time town great
time town they had to stop happy hour because they're having too good of a
time Indiana I think just re-initiated happy hours did first time since I've
been in the state where happy hours were allowed because what what does that mean
Pittsburgh big happy hour place big yeah but like they made a lot out long
happy hour yeah cuz people are just drunk driving home. And in Indiana, you know, they get like 50.
So you just call it something else?
What do they, what's the restaurant?
No, they're not allowed to make any specials on alcohol
for like certain hours during weekdays.
No way.
It's rigid, yeah, legit.
Because I think people had to drive so far
to either get home, because, you know,
things are spread out here in Indiana.
I think like they had a happy hour issue.
That was before I got here. But when I first, you know, got like some notoriety out here in India. I think like they had a happy hour issue That was before I got here But when I first you know got like some notoriety out here in Indianapolis
I was like I want to host I want to host a happy hour happy hours the best thing of all time
Love happy hour love a great happy hour the vibes could be amazing and you guys don't do them out here
You guys have no idea about I thought I was like it was a bit of a culture shock like when we moved out here
No one would go out after their shifts at work like everyone would just be waiting till later that night because there was no drink
specials to yeah happy hour you you just kind of do that then you can go home you can get to bed
at a good time yeah you know it's like actually a little bit more civilized in this entire thing
so i thought i was bringing like this novel concept wait till you hear about this shit
so the current governor so the current governor was like you know what bring back.
Seems like yeah. Current governor Holcomb he's been in for a while this is his last month he's uh he's done he's at
Mac's term limit every time I see him he loves his job of being a governor. Maccafe, Maccafe,. Easy win. Easy win. I don't think so, brother.
Politics?
Yeah, right.
You though, Jage, should think about it someday.
Back in Wisconsin?
You should think about it someday.
Yeah, you should.
Yeah, there was another Ash Jage.
No, that's no fun.
There was another Ash Jage from somebody from the show,
actually, as we wrap this particular segment up.
Oh, he's from AJHockey, never tweets.
Hashtag Ash Jage, you do not have to use your fingers
to cut the turds. You do not have to use your fingers to cut the turds.
You do not have to use your fingers to cut the turds.
Hashtag Ash Jage.
This tweet would go on to be deleted actually.
So we had to capture this before it disappeared.
Age, why'd you delete your tweet?
I was trying to add to it.
And in the time that I was deleting to add to it,
Gumpy screenshot it. Yes Yes we all saw it and then I accidentally want to mentions as opposed
to home page go back to home page already gone. So then Gump puts the
screenshot of it into the text and it's like we got him. We got the AJ. Hashtag
ask Jade's twice. This guy really wanted it. Exactly. And he did not put a question
mark in there. So jage take it however you want. He is wondering the answer to this statement
question. Correct. Okay. All right. Boom. Hashtag ask jage. We had to get we had to get some
toilet in there. It's like a weekly if we don don't, I feel like it's not, the show's not complete.
I think Gage was just asking questions
that a lot of people were wondering, right?
Yeah, people, I walk on the street and people ask me,
hey, you know, Jage knows he doesn't have to
get that poop in his fingernails.
He could grab something and chop it up.
Boop in his fingernails.
They're all big fans though.
They're big fans of Jage and what he's done on the field.
What's...
So you felt obligated to let him know that big fans of his are wondering yeah
They're like ah, we're they're like worried about him. Okay, tell him he doesn't think
You can find something break a little stick off of something grab something to chop those things up a pencil even you can get in
There you know a pen. Yeah, you're like your hat. You could use your hat and mush it around
Elbow baby, you know bow better than fingers you're right. I don't know if I I don't even know if I want to tell you the
Just went through my head here. So I
When I was reading that a there wasn't a question mark
So I was throwing and then I am NOT thinking straight
So I wasn't thinking back to our conversation with Greg and with reaching down there to break it all up
I was picturing you were using the bathroom
It was coming out, but you couldn't get it to chop so you were using your fingers
This while you were pooping
Okay, it is
That'd be a gold buzzer. Yeah, it is. That would be. Straight to Hollywood.
That'd be a gold buzzer.
Yeah.
Because how do you get in there?
James, don't be doing that.
I don't know.
I'm just telling you.
That was the first thing, I don't know why, that came into my head.
Alright, well that's a good question.
What's the most amount of wipes you ever did in your life, AJ?
I mean, who knows?
Probably upwards of a hundred.
I never thought about it.
A hundred wipes in one shit. What did what?
I mean, I'm 40 years old now. So I've had a lot of time on earth. So I would know he's talking about for one shit
Yeah, I know
What the hell is that I would say it back in the day when you're young and there's an emergency or something something whatever
We're not cleaning up the leg if it's running down your leg. Okay, 40. Let's say 40 40
man least 40
Don't you're doing 40 wipes. There's those ones those sticky ones where just keep you don't know where it's coming
You don't have no idea where it's coming from. It just keeps coming. It's 40
You don't just do like five before dude wipes for five and from. It just keeps coming. It's 40, you know, just do like
Before dude wipes for five and then do what just pull up your pants be like
I still got a shit and then you keep shit. Oh, no, you guys are still
in your hand
I'm not using my hand. I'm using toilet paper. Okay, I'm sorry You You are moving into toilet paper That is in your hands. That is what you guys are doing 40 wipes. This is the real conversation
This is real shit not like oh, I'm gonna say the right thing
This is the real shit right here. There comes a point where you got to make a decision like
Can't stress this enough to AJ tone digs and seemingly jage who are 10 plus wipers for one dump
Go and get yourself some dingle bells
dude wipes it's not only does it smell fantastic but it also 41 should be never he said 100
yeah i don't i'm so flustered after 20 you get you're probably asking your dad and spray you down
with the hose on like when it's that when it comes When it comes to that. Come here, dad. If you're in public, if you're in public,
what's the plan?
Like that's it.
You're talking about, you're talking about brand new,
fresh pieces of toilet paper
that you were wiping with 40 times,
or is this one piece you're doing like leg, leg, cheek.
You just got the cleanest shits ever.
You just take the cleanest shits ever.
I take a lot of dumps and they're good dumpss. I think personally I do take good dumps, but
40-fucking-a-hundred I don't know how yeah, that's why I'm flustered cuz you know
They asked the question like how blind people know when they're done wiping, you know
Cuz you can't see that there's nothing on there taste shit
Yeah, that's a great question
No one said taste no one ever said taste
Yeah, they got a That's a great question. What? No one said taste. No one ever said taste. Now it is. No, dude.
No, they did.
Yeah, they got to check tape, dude.
I don't think so.
I don't think so.
But the fact that you guys take 40 to 50 wipes
to find clean TP.
Not every time, man.
This is a once in a lifetime.
Ever!
You should be worried about yourself, I think.
Twice a year?
Twice a year!
That's twice too many, brother. What are we think twice a year twice a year. That's twice too many brother. What are we doing?
Times after pooping is considered bad. No
Yeah, this is on you I'll call you guys I'll show you the consistency next time underlying health issues like hemorrhoids anal
Fissures or sound awful. Whoa. I think mine's the pelvic floor dysfunction.
Okay. Really?
Well, I know it's not hemorrhoids or the fissures.
All right. That was good-ass Jade segment. I'm happy we got there. I learned a lot today.
I learned a lot. I didn't know that was even... I didn't know that was happening out there.
No. So you need to know whenever you're potentially taking
a dump in an away locker room in a way stadium in public the person next to you
might actually reel through that entire thing yeah don't think they're up to any
shenanigans they're just trying to clean their butthole 50 wipes you've never
seen the Chris Pratt's hit like Like the brown marker skit from Parks and Rec?
Yeah. Have seen that.
You said sometimes it's like a brown marker, you just keep wiping but it keeps going.
Then you guys are still pooping. You sit back down and you poop.
Let's get our check up.
I think you might be walking away dirty.
It seems like they're speed poopers.
Yeah, it seems like you're in a pain.
Yeah, you force it out like away locker room or you're out to dinner you don't have those in your
pocket you should but you're wrong I'm bringing yeah we got some in the back
pocket bring with me everywhere they sent wallets yeah so we do have dude
wipes with us at all times my cheeks ain't touching nothing but dude wipes
okay cloves smelling dude wipes as well. Smells like the holidays.
Not only you're not wiping 50 fucking times,
you're also getting a delightful smell
after the poop just drained out of your butthole,
which is happening to you guys,
which I think you guys need to tighten up a little bit.
You guys are having a poop drip
out of your butthole situation happen right now.
So you guys need to make sure there's a final scene a final episode or final scene of your poops. The consistency is not dripping. It's not dripping. You're wiping
hard poop 50 times off your butt. Like a sticky hard substance. You're still pooping.
Pooping sludge. Sticky hard stuff. It's like when newborns don't do what newborns do. Like the
dumps are all black. Yeah. Yeah. Oh. I think everybody needs to get checked out what's a good conversation
actually this is everybody needs to go get checked for colon cancer okay they
say you're not supposed to do it until you're later in life after what we just
learned about how you guys are dumping and things are coming through there we
should get this checked out I'm happy we did that we made sure Barry shot us
good job boys thank you it's good's a good message. Go get checked. You never
know. The world's changing. Jade, great episode today. Pure entertainment
whole time. Really beginning to end. Thank you. I appreciate you guys. It's a blast.
You on CBS? No I'm not on CBS. I'm on Netflix on Wednesday. Produced by CBS.
Feelers Chief. see you there.
That makes sense.
I'm happy these new streaming companies
have a chance to really change the game
and instead they hire the same people
that have been doing it the entire time.
But they'll get it right.
They will get it right, which is a good thing.
They got crusher.
They got burnt.
Well, that's the Netflix.
Yeah.
A little extra spring.
Don't worry, watch this, we got it.
Ladies and gentlemen, future first ballot hall of famer,
a man who has once used 50 wipes after a dump at least
JJ what?
Answering a question a
Hundred wipes. I'm not saying I don't know if it happened, but I'm just I'm it's possible
It's that's what you were asked. How many you I was asked a question
I never thought about that question in all of my time on this earth. So I gave an answer in a moment. I dropped
it down to 40. You've never thought about that. You've never been like 10 wipes in like,
wow, this feels like I'm wiping a lot. I appreciate it. It's doing it. Like it's not doesn't happen
that often where I'm like, wow, you know what? I don't think I've ever thought about that.
Which is wild for you. Yeah, it is. You you're right I do think about a lot of
different things always downloading especially in that world you know you're
telling me 25 wipes in you don't think there's a problem you know we're near
done you know you're nowhere near done you you're halfway at least half it's
good I can't you can even go to check bro seriously no no no no joking we're
not bleed people that say they got blood that those people you gotta be so chafed
It's not like a thing never like a consistent thing 100 wipes of cheeks
Let's get to a break we're back on this we're not talking about this ever again. I'm dumbfuck. Mm-hmm
Get checked loading Get checked.
Loading his butt crack with gold bomb every single time.
And then wiping it off?
Well, the next time he goes poop.
No, but I'm saying, does he load it off, that's not good enough, wipe it again, do it again,
is that one of the wipes?
Get 99 others.
Yeah, I mean that's, we can, he has never done that.
Yeah, that's never. So I dropped the 40. Most absurd entry he's ever given. So I dropped, no, that's not right we can, he has never done that. Yeah, that's never. That's the most absurd answer he's ever given.
So I dropped, no, that's not right, but I dropped it to 40.
40 is the most absurd answer.
That's insane, and then.
I'm not saying it even happened.
I just don't wanna be a liar.
Chat's, the chat is saying we need to call Kaboli.
Well.
You guys think Kaboli wipes?
I was gonna say, do we even?
What?
What?
In what world? Put that sub right next to it?
Yeah, what the hell?
In what world?
Connor's.
Oh man.
I have to pee right now,
but when I walk in there and I look at the toilet paper,
I'm gonna say, one whole roll.
I'm so sorry.
These guys, for one dump, they're going,
you're going through a whole roll
and you don't think it's a problem?
Legit.
If this was an everyday occurrence, yeah,
I would already think this is a problem,
but it's not, it never has been.
You need to go get checked, we all do.
Yeah, you're right, we do, we all should get checked.
Get a colonoscopy.
For everything. Amen.
Tone.
Yeah.
You just coming in out of hammered.
Time.
Time.
Just being like, preach.
Age.
Well, I thought this was an honest show.
It's never happened at home, because if you
get to, say, 15, 20.
Shower.
Yeah, you're just jumping in the shower.
Yeah, but now you're pooping in the shower.
I think what you guys need to know is you're still pooping
I've been can't be mushing poop in the shower for 36 years. I promise you it's not poop
So they well it is poop, but I can't poop anymore if that makes sense. What it's a pelvic floor problem
What is that? What does that mean? I don't think the muscles in my pelvic floor are strong enough to get the rest
I you need to do yeah
pelvic floor strong enough to get the rest out. You need to do those kegels.
Yeah, you gotta do kegels.
You do too.
Those always sounded too sexual for me.
Very strong.
Joining us now is a man who's-
Get rocked up.
Yeah.
You get rocked up while doing kegels.
Joining us now is a man who will give us,
you know, the answer we've been looking for.
Steelers, insider for our show,
also contributor to WWE, ladies ladies and gentlemen Mark Kaboli.
Yeah, Mark.
Mark, I know you're very busy on this Wednesday.
I know the Netflix kickoff press conference is happening for the WWE.
Right now you're paying attention to that, the Steelers, Hard Knocks.
We appreciate everything you've done this year.
Great work.
Great work, Mark.
Now, question. Jade, Mr. JJ Watt, brother of Teej, Teej Watt, asked Age, AJ Hawk, what's the most
amount of wipes he's ever done after a dump?
AJ Watt responded to Jade, a hundred wipes.
Then after getting ridiculed a little bit, he dropped it to 40 wipes.
Then Tone Digs, Pittsburgh, Ginzer says, say 50, 100 or whatever.
I was dumbfounded. I didn't know that was possible.
What is the most amount of wipes you think you have done after a dump?
And do you still dude wipe every time you're at the John?
Oh, absolutely to do wipes. The thing is, is I've pretty much got it down to a science right now that I don't have to overuse
the dude wipes. Now I've said this before, you go with the dry wet dry technique
that really cleans it up nice and you don't have to use the hundred or so. But it all depends too.
If you're holding it in a little bit too long
then that tends to be messy at times.
So as soon as you feel a urge coming, you better hit the commode, then you can do a
quick one.
But the most I've probably ever used, I've probably been around the 50 to 75 mark before
I figured it out.
He knows.
He knows.
You don't say.
Yeah.
Hold on.
Hold on.
I have to. You know what else I used to do? I'm not proud here's what else I used to do is my kids were young I
used to sneak their their whatever their wipes baby wipes then throw it in the
old container there was that being called I can't remember I've ever been
and I'm like wow that's like I don't know I think you kids are taking human
size don't I appreciate you thank you for giving us the answer we need it
ladies and gentlemen more boy thank you boy got a PhD in pooping what the fuck you do not want that diaper thing to ever be opened that's
not awful my god that's what the drones are looking for you also certainly don't want to be wiping
your own ass and fucking throwing it in the diaper so what's he got he gets from bathroom and he
walks through the holds it yeah nursery yeah finish thing up it's gonna smell everybody's
kid you open that thing just if it has any diapers in it or anything in it and you open that
just a little bit.
Room ruined.
Yep.
Ruined as Dan Roelofsky would say.
Yeah.
For five to ten minutes.
It is just terrible.
It's in a normal house.
What's that?
To think about.
Kabolis?
Maybe the stench has a hole.
The paint's probably peeling off the wall.
All right. Let's get to a break. We'll be back on the stench as a whole. The paint's probably peeling off the wall.
All right, let's get to a break.
We'll be back on the other side talking the ball.
What we're saying is everybody needs to go get checked.
Yeah.
Especially if your last name's Kaboli,
but more specifically, everybody.
Everybody needs to get checked.
50 to 75.
In that range.
And then, Tony, I'm not proud.
I'm sorry.
I'm not proud.
You guys need to get checked,, serious. That's scary stuff
50 to 75 I'm so fucking dumbfounded. Well digs we know it. It's a pelvic floor problem. Yeah
Needs hit the kegels refuses to do so dip but dude wipes has changed our life. So we appreciate dude without a doubt
It does help
So we appreciate dude. Without a doubt.
It does help.
It makes you feel fresh in 50 to a hundred.
You guys wipe in for 20 minutes.
How long is the wipe?
The wipes longer than.
It sucks too.
Cause you always know like the first wipe.
That you're in for it?
Here we go again.
Yeah, it's not like when you're like,
oh, I get to 10 and you're like, oh, I'm in.
No, you know, first wipe.
It's normally after McDonald's for some reason too.
All right.
All right.
Football.
Football.
Hey, it's wonderful.
That's AJ Hawk, who taught us all a little something
in our last hour of discussion about what people do
post grumpies, and I respect a hell of a lot of it.
Way to go, AJ. Oh yeah, Hawker. Always, always teaching. You know, I'm a lot of it. Way to go AJ.
Always teaching, you know, I'm always learning with you.
I was asked the question, I didn't bring it up, you know,
so I adjusted it to after my first answer.
Yeah, and we got another answer whenever we were off air.
12 year NFL veteran and Super Bowl champion,
AQ Shipley is here.
Hey Q, what's up boys Q?
He said, I don't think I fully understood
what you guys were talking about
because my move would actually be to,
if five wipes isn't good enough,
I'm walking out of here with monkey butt
and I'll deal with it later.
Is that what you said?
That's exactly what I said.
Itchy asshole.
And then he said, there's nothing worse
than just poop in your butt cheeks, though.
But you don't know until 20 minutes later.
You feel good, you leave, 20 minutes later,
you start to sweat, maybe get a workout in,
then you feel the itchy butt hole,
and it's like, all right, let's find a shower.
Or we wipe again.
Full load of poop in my pants.
Did I wipe?
I don't remember.
Yes.
I'm not sure.
50 to 75 wipes, Mark Kaboli.
Yeah, let's go to the Talks at Table,
I have boss Connor Natash,
nine year NFL vet, Darius J. Butler.
Yes sir, D-Butch.
D-Butch, your conversation about your preference
of Pop Tart has certainly spurred some conversation
on the internet.
There's actually some people that agree with you.
I do not know that.
I have a small community out there.
I don't mind being in the, you know, 10, 15 percent.
I don't really like being in that 85, 90 percent group.
So I like where I'm at.
Hop into the Instagram comments, app app, show you will see the post.
It is active in there and it is it is drawing people from all walks of life
Absolutely, I'll tell you what the pop-tart conversation in the preference of what people like and don't like has certainly brought out some emotions and
There is a small contingency people on your side like yeah, we do that smalls
Yeah, it's a group of weirdos for small
non frosted pop tarts is something that you're into, strawberry style, and then everybody else eats the good Pop-Tarts.
Yeah, the good ones.
And that's certainly been just like-
Everybody toast them though, right?
If you want to take the time.
I was going to say, I don't need to toast them.
Typically, no.
Them either.
I'll eat them without being toasted. But do I like it being toasted? Yeah.
Okay.
But do I want to do the whole song and dance or like like the s'mores one?
I think great toast. Yeah, like almost better toasted, but I don't I won't toast them ever real
That's the thing about the frosted ones is you don't have to toast them. They still taste good
All right, there's flavor on them. Yeah and less calories somehow. Yeah
You believe that bullshit? Absolutely
To be fair, I do not.
Frosting's gonna be fair, I don't believe that bullshit, actually.
Frosting makes the calories go down?
Yeah, more frosting, more spree, more bullshit, but yeah.
No, because they had to inject more flavor, and then I had a lot of people telling me
that we need not be talking about it all because what's inside of it is terrible and
RFKG is going to teach us all about it, and I understand what you're saying, but...
Shut the fuck up. Yeah. Something's going to kill you kid me. Okay fucking pop tarts
You know if your high horse
It was bad stuff and not eating it like oh, this is gonna make me much healthier today
I think those people aren't eating pop tarts, so they don't fully understand what we're going through
You know whenever we have a passion for said things and then we realize that some people
somehow some way,
do want bland grilled chicken,
no salt, no pepper, no flavor,
in the Pop-Tart world.
I had no idea that was possible.
And Darius is their leader,
and I've enjoyed watching it.
I'll probably go to war for you boys and girls.
He has been in war though.
It has been...
Go to war.
He's been taking a lot of shots.
I've got so many messages DMs, what?
You see like friends, family members like, dude, what? Are you serious? That's real life.
Are you okay?
Are you okay? What happened to you as a child?
I've had a couple of people tell me that they're on your side and obviously I've seen some others in support of you, but we all feel bad for those people.
And we understand that at some point point you'll enjoy the finer things
in life. Like pop tarts with frosting. Brown County Sports Hall of Famer.
And you're gonna get a chance to enjoy good pop tarts. We're not proud of you.
Speaking of proud, we should be proud that we've been able to maintain
our program through 15 weeks of an NFL season.
Every day is potentially the last day and that's how we kind of view things around here.
But this year there's been a segment that's been added with our In the Trenches aficionado, AQ Shipley.
It's been three takeaways from the weekend that just happened.
Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for A.Q. Shipley to give us his talking points. Number one.
La, la, la, la marvelous.
Nailed it. Lamar has been fantastic all year.
La, la, la, la marvelous.
He is, he is.
La, la, la, la marvelous.
He really is. Lamar Jackson is phenomenal. Is that your talking point? He's been fantastic. We will see if he can rebound from his first Look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, pass or rating five touchdowns which is more touchdown passes than incompletions
obviously anytime you're doing that it's great they're coming off a bye week and
remember Lamar Jackson said I don't want to have a bye I won't play he had been
eagerly awaiting this Giants game and they showed up in a massive way he also
ran for how much 60 something yeah 60 something yards over under for his rush
yards was 47 and a half yeah I think that's gonna continue as well a Q
she think so I do we saw a couple ago. I showed all the lanes that are there.
They are always going to be there because everybody tries to get wide and when you try and get wide
the lanes are right there up the middle.
He has a talent that nobody else in the NFL has and that is to be able to run as the most athletic player on every
field he steps on. And that's why he's
La la, la marvelous.
Let's go to the second talking point from May Q Shipley,
trouble in the trenches for the Kansas City Chiefs.
We saw Tooney move out to left tackle.
What do you mean?
Yeah, Tooney moved out to left tackle, which is commendable.
Everybody in the entire offense says,
hey, thanks for stepping up this week.
Thanks for stepping up.
But I also saw plenty of clips where he couldn't even get
his hands on Myles Garrett because his arms are short
and he's meant to be inside at guard.
He's one of the best guards in football.
Let's leave them there.
But the issue is the tackles.
In this game, he's playing tackle.
He's part of the issue.
He's part of the problem.
They push him back.
Look at that.
And this is every single throw from Patrick Mahomes
all season long almost.
Pocket getting collapsed.
He has to move.
And then he's fallen away and taken a shot almost every single time
He can never just stand in the pocket and make a throw to knee commendable. Fantastic. He's one of the best guards in football
Let's leave him there. Let's fix the tackles. We got to fix the tackles DJ Humphreys
They brought him in DJ has to stay healthy. We got to keep that left side clean and not get pushed into the quarterback
Here's another clip from the game third and one we, we got to get some movement. The entire offensive line is on the ground. They're just getting
smashed, getting crushed from the Cleveland Browns interior. That's minus one on third
and one. Offensive line issues, if they don't get it fixed, they will not be able to continue
this run. Here's another one.
Can you get it fixed this late?
It's tough, but look at this one. I mean, it's every single time. Every single time.
And that one right there, they try and chip help,
but Miles sees it, turns into a bull against two
and he can't get his hands on him and boom,
now you're at the legs.
Can you get it fixed?
No, and that is the biggest problem.
That's the biggest problem.
Like we are too far in the season.
They went and got DJ, DJ's got to work himself into shape.
He played one game, he got his hamstring.
The biggest problem with them right now,
the biggest problem with them is the only way
that they can sustain drives and keep offense going.
That's why Andy Reid's such a good coach,
is all the jet sweeps, the trick plays, the screens,
the middle screens, every which way you can
to slow down the pass rush is the only way
they're able to get offense.
Remember, they make it all the way to the Super Bowl
against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
where this man won a Super Bowl,
and their offensive line was the question the entire time.
Offensive line question, question, question. And what do we remember from that Super Bowl from Patrick Mahomes him running his ass off scrambling almost sideways
Completing a thing. It's been like that all year then he gets hurt because of potential cluster in front of him
Hopefully they're able to get that done that's it toony though going out to tackle. It's so hard
Do you know if he said I'll do it or did he would have had to say he would have had to say he
He was gonna do it and listen that is so commendable because listen he's got
four Super Bowls.
He's one of the highest paid guards in football.
He's a stud at left guard.
He's an all pro.
He's got every accolade known to man and if this guy's putting the left up as Chuck Pagano
would say to go out and help the team get out of this game and move to the next one
that is what that is what you want from a leader.
Absolutely but he's not going to be able to win a Super Bowl at left tackle.
No, he needs to be inside and they gotta get DJ back
and get him up to speed and get him in shape
so that he's not pulling a hamstring first week back.
Last talking point coming out of week 15,
it's the Eagles final drive now.
What did they, they put a four minute drive together there
to win that thing.
I don't think people realize how hard it is
to run four minute football. And when you get the ball back with four minutes to
Be able to keep that ball till the end of the game is so hard because they're loading the box as D button AJ
No, you load the box you get eight nine ten in the box. They started on their own, too
They start off the drive with a delay a game go back to the one and they held the ball for
Ten minutes and 30 seconds. 23 plays and did not give the ball back to Pittsburgh Steelers.
They had five third down conversions, two fourth down conversions on the drive and
they did it a multitude of ways.
They hit it with the pass.
There was a third and 12, they get 11 on a little hitch to Devontae Smith.
Get up, now we go fourth and one, push, push, keep the drive going.
Three third and twos, you just hand the ball off hit it up the middle convert the
first down unbelievable drive by them to end the game that's domination there
it's domination those four minute drives are all about will a lot of people say
because will you be able to move the rock when everybody knows what you're
trying to do which is keep the ball in bounds keep the clock rolling and then
being able to do that for we saw 948 is whenever the ball in bounds, keep the clock rolling. And then being able to do that for, we saw 9.48 is whenever the drive started,
or yeah, because I think this was after.
That's the third down.
Yeah, it's the third down, and it was after a delay,
like, all the delay shit that started.
Third and sixth, when they picked it up,
they throw it there.
They obviously give the ball back to the Steelers.
They're backed up in their own end zone.
Steelers score there, all of a sudden it's a one score game.
Instead, they drain the life out of the game
in the Pennsylvania State Championship. Let's go to Hammerone score game instead. They drain the life out of the game in the Pennsylvania State Championship
Let's go to hammer time time as you're watching the boa constrictor kind of
Take the air out of your team this weekend. What were your thoughts tone digs? I was disgusted
There was so many like you saw Mike third and 13 third and longs
Where they would the Steelers would just play off and let them get to a fourth and one situation
like this one here with Devonta.
Like it'd get to a fourth one
and then they just have to do the push,
the tush push and they got two first downs that way.
And then or it'd be a third and one
and they'd have to have short runs that way.
It was just, couldn't get a stop on the short yardage.
Their O line is so good.
And then playing off so many times
in the long yardage situations where they can get it to a
short yardage situation I
Was I was fucking fuming to be honest
Well, if you're an Eagles fan, that's how you made a steelers fan
That's probably so cool
And if you're an Eagles fan, you should know that being able to do that as a talent and that's a talent that wins you a big
Time games in the playoffs being able to control the rock is a massive ordeal
Maybe this is a year for the Eagles dominant obviously offense
They're gonna get the headlines
But the defense has been equally as dominant a great majority of this year up front all three levels up front
It starts with Jalen Carter, but the edges are playing better now
Second level Zach Bond has been an all-pro player. Nakobe Dean is playing well and then the back end
They've been locking up as well. So that they they got it all click right now. What was it 25 10?
25 minutes in 10 seconds to
Four minutes and 50 seconds time of possession in second half Eagles to Steelers or something like that
I got to possession the second half. I think they had almost 90 offensive plays the Steelers had 53
God dominant
Absolutely dominant think about how tired that Steelers defense had to be.
There it is. 24-10. 550 in the second half. That's how you end the game. You never see that. Ever. Especially against the Steelers team.
Yeah. Oh, they were tired? Get off the field. That was Tony. That was Tony Davis. That first third day, yo.
Like, that's a perfect example in the four minute, likeminute like you have to load the box and try to stop or limit
Say Kwan or Jalen hurts in the run game and Jalen hurts in the room game
I'm sorry
Then you get one on one's in the outside with AJ Brown like and if you go back to that first third now you look
At the door you're at AJ Brown like this is what he's gonna do to damn it every corner in the national football
You're gonna get one on one's where there's covered three or cover one
You get that and you just line up you got a fresh set of ones where there's covered three or cover one you get that knee
Just line up you got a fresh set of downs and then they have the damn their automatic fourth and one third one play
I guess tough man. Yeah, that's third and six
But it's actually like third and four because if they get to fourth and one and a half or fourth and two
They feel they're gonna be able to get it and then sirion. He has a little MC DC. He certainly has a little
DC and him he'll go for it, but they get off the field right here, Steelers defense.
They have to punt.
They're in scoring range.
You score a touchdown 27-20 with what?
Seven minutes left in the game.
That's a whole different ball game.
Instead, you're never getting it back.
Congrats to Philadelphia Eagles being able to do that.
And also congrats to AQ Shipley.
It was some great talking points.
Now it's time for everything DB, good D, bad D,
with Darius J. Butler.
Yeah.
We had JJ on today. Here's Tua.
We had JJ on today.
Let's talk about his Houston.
Oh, against the Dolphins?
Texas.
Whoa.
Oh, no.
We're talking about these guys.
Classic D louts.
I hate it had to be Tua.
I hate it had to be Miami.
But we're talking about Derrick Stingley Jr. right now, having an all-pro year.
Right now, man, actually let me lay out this situation real quick.
So this is 10 and a half minutes left, third and five.
10 and a half minutes left in the game.
And you can see lined up across Tyrick Hill,
one of the best, most dangerous wide receivers in the league.
You can see where that free safety is.
Opposite hash, not concerned with the matchup,
no help needed at all.
Watch him play this route, come back route,
terribly placed ball from Tua,
but a great job from Stingley playing this route,
top shoulder breaking it running route form boom
Making a play once again. It's inside
You want that to be outside near the sideline where Tyree catches it or no one catches it but great job covering them pressed up
No concern no fear by anybody on the field with that matchup. How come?
It feels like sting Lee's okay with the ball going that way. Yeah
He's it seemed like he was playing like low shoulder almost.
Like he knew this was coming.
Yeah, and if he runs it's third and five, so maybe he's playing the sticks and a lot
of people look at it and say, you know, just throw the fade.
But obviously they have a route, you know, called in the play.
They have a play called before they come out of the huddle.
So that's the route.
Sometimes you'll see like a Randy Moss, he may take that release, just throw his hand
up.
Maybe they don't have that type of conversion available, especially with single high safety
I feel like that should always be in play but great job. Here we go again, Derek Stingley
So this is a first and ten with minute and 44 left
You have the matchup if your tour if your Tyreek, this is the matchup you want one-on-one cut split
Once again, post safety has no impact on the matchup. So it's one-on-one minor mano
Once again great job while I'm getting the head around text
No, we locate go up high point the ball and pull it down and you see this on a TV copy
Tyreek had two hands in the ball ball was slightly under throw
Tyreek has two hands on the ball
Derek has kind of one in there and just pulls it out, muscles it, finishes that play. Great great ball skills, great speed, great
everything at the cornerback position. Wow! That's why he was drafted number three overall a couple years ago.
Holy shit! I mean that's a completion. Yeah pulled it out and mossed him.
Gumpi, yeah he did moss him. He did. We're with you Moss, Randy. Hell yeah. Yeah we do.
We all legit. Randy keep going buddy and we'll obviously help however we can company
What's going on Tyree kill just getting the ball snatched now out of his hands around here?
I didn't know that was happening
Yeah
all the passes that to it through that were interceptions were supposed to be for Tyree McDaniel said
He might have ran the wrong route on one
But that's what happened was when everything in your offense is on timing and you can't change your fucking mind on anything
man
Seasons over seasons over boys
You know, what did Tyreek what did Tyreek put out a tweet? Didn't he say he's gonna coach like Teddy Bridgewater
Yep. Yeah, what'd he say? No, that wasn't his tweet
Didn't he? Well, he says my time to go coach
Now, what was that? Oh my time to go. I thought he was saying like Teddy Bridgewater like my time to go coach
Hey shout out Teddy Bridgewater first year state champ at Miami Northwest and his his alma mater first year in it going back
I think he said he he wanted to come back and play too now
So well, but shout out Teddy B 41 zip. I think they won the state champion
Some team in Jacksonville. That's impressive though 3a state championship in Florida first first time in it undefeated
I think going to be a going back to his his school were
Very very prominent program, but I don't think they've kind of been on that level. So for him to go back and do that man awesome
Very very prominent program, but I don't think they've kind of been on that level. So for him to go back and do that man. Awesome
All-time documentary on that high school too. Oh, yeah. Oh no, it's called year the bull. Yep. Yeah
Sorry, mate Come on
That watch is so I know everybody wants to say that and it is a great topic to talk about as well, but uh,
They just extended mc McDaniel and to us
So there's definitely back next year. I guarantee you I would bet anything
Maybe maybe Tyreek was saying it's time for me to go like time to go coach
Or it could have been time to go coach the fuck out of here McDaniel
Crazy how many ways you can read that? It's time for me to go coach
Like Teddy, right? It's time for me to go coach, you know, give me the ball
Yeah, it's time trying to get him time to go coach. They tried to feed them
It's time need some commas in there need some periods for me. It's time. It's time to go coach
That's crazy that you can take that's why the English language is the best by far
No doubt forget the Barghetti sketch with SNL all that mm-hmm, which is certainly all valid and phenomenal
But you just think about how context is needed for almost everything and it's just like you just read something
You have no idea what it is. Tyrex gonna have to explain his his tweet though
Oh, yeah, at some point. He's gonna have to explain it or maybe he won't because maybe it is time for him to go
No, he will have to explain it after they fire McDaniel in a couple weeks here
He's gonna have to he's got the answer to it. Hey, you wanted this right? Yeah, exactly
We read your we read your tweet you wanted this to happen you asked for this Tyreak dump
What do you want as a Dolphins fan?
I want McDaniel to stay cuz he got the best out of Tua like I don't know if anybody
Remembers before Tua got there. Does Tua want to keep going though in this particular offense?
He's like to Gump's point he's had a lot of success hasn't had a bunch of postseason success
Obviously, um, you've seen some people kind of maybe read in between the lines of some things
he said in previous interviews about all of the
Gimmicks for lack of a better
term, you know, getting to the line of scrimmage. Hey, playcock, I got emotion. I got it. It's
I got to shift.
You're talking about we do we have the video is from Kaufman, I believe who is the largest
independent Miami Dolphins podcast. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. He was posting these videos. I don't
think this. All right. We got North right clamp South Fox, age top, past 38 top, Gumby XP Sweat.
On one, on one, ready break.
Northwest, crop up, down, go to the left, then don't go over there.
Clamp, one, one, one. Close enough.
But as you're thinking of the play, you also got to think about, okay, there's a down in distance.
All right, it's second down. That's crazy, you have to do that.
All right, what is the front of the defense?
What's the shell?
Okay, is it too high?
All right, they're starting it too high,
but here's the possibility of if they go to one high,
this is what that thing could look like.
All right, are they bringing simulator pressure?
If he comes, he's coming down, he's going to the middle.
Okay, this is what the coverage could be.
But you're like thinking of all of that before it happens,
and then you're like, okay, does the clock give me time?
Ah, I can't.
Sid Hut, here we go. so obviously he's just explaining life of a quarterback for him
mr. Kaufman I would then put out this video as well and I think the point that
I think it's K O U F M A N yeah is the last offman Kufman we apologize we
appreciate your research so his angle on X is pretty much like two has been
dropping hits and it's a lot
And then here's him after losing I believe to the Kansas Chiefs last year
I would I would attest that to the communication errors that we've had. Am I hearing the right formation?
Okay, we're getting out but we have two motions that we have to use
So it's maybe nine seconds left on the clock. We're motioning, it's about five seconds.
We don't have time to change.
And so now we gotta play and I mean,
we gotta throw where our hots would be,
but I mean, where they pressured,
I mean, Spagg had a good plan
and they executed well against us.
So I think he's just trying to explain his positioning,
but there is some people that are saying like,
hey, it's a lot onto his shoulders, that particular particular offense and maybe we can dial it down a little bit
But I don't have McDaniels offense has those capabilities. I mean you got it just that's what good coaches do and
You obviously want your start in there. Usually I forgot which coach said it
You don't like to practice fucked most teams lose their starting quarterback
It's not gonna be good
But you want a system that you can also get another quarterback you get Malik Willis come in and I can adjust and win a couple
Games if our guy goes down, so I'm sure some adjustments will be made. I think Mike Bidae was a good coach
I obviously think too is a good quarterback as well. It's tough to win obviously at this point in the year, especially
So I hope as a Dolphins they figured out we like
McDaniel we like to never been on show, right?
No
Yeah, okay doing what does he do much maybe well he did that day. Yeah, just canceled ours
Oh, I don't know what that's all about to be honest, and I don't know if I should hate him
I don't I like watching play football. I think he's been cool this year, too. I like yeah. Yeah, he loves football
Yeah, I like to love he wants to play no matter what ball dude. I'm here first
July
They'll figure it out comes
Probably not but we'll run it back next year. Come on
Come on, man 25 years a long time without a playoff win brother. All right, let's go to Denver
Shall we on everything DB?
Going from one all pro in my in my opinion, AP Tone,
to another all-pro corner AP Tone out there.
Trying to suggest some votes.
I didn't know we got a voter in the building.
You know how this goes, D-Bot.
Unfortunately, the last one was against my Dolphins.
This is against my Colts.
But cover two, flat defender.
We see this route a lot.
ND7, China 7, whatever you want to call it
The outside receiver is gonna run a lower house. The inside receiver
Don't call that it's gonna run a 7 so a deep outbreaker
Patrick's 13 kind of plays 13 certain kind of plays both of them Reese the quarterback puts that foot in the ground
Gets back and expands almost like a combine drill
Puts that foot in the ground gets back and expands almost like a combine drill
After Richardson tries to put it on a line ends up throwing right at two But a great job by him kind of playing that game with the young quarterback
Forget who was calling this game
They said this route that route that they have highlighted and drawn up there should be ran a little deeper not as shallow
I agree with it because that helps the corner when they're not as deep to be able to play
Both of them, but I think the safety gets a good break as well
So that would be a tough throw to make regardless of where you threw it
Maybe you take the underneath one there. This is first and 20 in the fourth quarter
746 in game so critical moment in the game and you don't want to turn the ball over especially on first down
But I mean start a check down and obviously his coaches probably tell him the same thing and you line up You know second and 14, you know get get back on track
Hopefully get a third and manageable but great job by pastor 10 kind of playing the game with your quarterback
Yeah, and Anthony Richardson has had a couple tough ones young young quarterback young quarterback. You learn from these Broncos great defense
That's why this first two drives for the courts where they scored it was like, yeah
Oh shit. Wait a minute fresh off a bye and then obviously what happens happens in the second half becomes what it becomes
Okay, let's go to Las Vegas. Yeah, I was a young quarterback getting picked on This is an old quarterback getting picked on once again third quarter first and ten. So this is first down
I hate you know turnovers in general some quarterback, but throwing them all first down, you know that that hurts as well. So
It's gonna be the same thing Dan. Oh came on and talked about how Kirk hasn't moved from the pocket
You got Bobby Spillane here. You just watch him around that Raiders logo
Cover number three three hook just a pure zone coverage. Everyone drops back underneath defenders
Keep your eye on the quarterback break on intentions
18 as a defender when you know that quarterback is always going to be on that same spot a statue as we call a statue quarterbacks
Not many of them left right now Kirk is a statue. We know exactly what drops we need to get to.
You read the quarterback.
We saw it last week, I believe,
with Josh Metellus, the Vikings.
And now we've got Bobby Spillane making a big, big play here
for his Raiders to make this game a lot closer
than a lot of people thought it probably should be.
The statue thing, why you guys just know
the timing of everything.
Yeah.
That's because you know this is how this play
is gonna be run
The timing where you need to be and if you're not there, you're gonna get exactly so if you were to bring up like
The coverage isn't like they put like shaded like okay
Every coverage has like weaknesses cover threes that certain weaknesses cover to cover for etc
And you put that and you say okay as a spot drop as a hook curl defender
I need to be 12
to 14 yards deep split the numbers in a hash if that's Josh Allen he drops back
maybe he rolls to his right rolls to his left those zones kind of move and change
and the receivers can find different windows if you can be a statue Peyton
Manning Drew Brees Tom Brady you kind of you got to win with your mind you got to
move people with you with your eyes you got to win with your mind. You got to move people with your eyes.
You got to anticipate the windows.
Where are the coverages?
Where are the weaknesses?
Anticipate them and then throw the ball on time on target.
So when you're not doing that as a statue, that just makes you,
I mean, it's like fishing the barrel for defense
and a good defense.
Patrick Graham is a good defensive coordinator.
Raiders, you know, they think P.G.s.
I play for him.
He's a good defensive coordinator. Raiders, you know, they stink. PG's, I played for him. He's a good defensive coordinator.
I love to hear that because everybody's saying
these guys that can't move much
or don't move much in extended plays,
they're about to be extinct.
They're about to be Tyrannosaurus Rex, bro.
Oh yeah.
Which is real, right?
I don't think so.
What? Wait, what do you mean? Big museum back at again. I saw an article
the other day. They found a new species of dinosaur. I thought we found them already.
I mean, those are the answers we'll get with aliens too. Hey, did they ever? Did we ever?
You tell us. Just is that real? Have you guys visited here before? And was there different
people with different things? Was there dinosaurs in here?
What is Z? Z's not a believer in dinosaurs. He thinks it's big museums. A lot of paper mache bones at those museums
Can't touch them can't get near them. Where'd they come from? Oh, they dug them up. Where at? I believe I believe that
I don't believe we ever been to the moon. Don't fucking say it shut up, but I
Definitely believe in dinosaurs. Shut up.
What was that all about, Ty?
What was Buzz all about?
I saw him.
What was that all about?
These days you can fucking get anybody to say anything.
You think Buzz would say that?
The guy who was fucking prancing on the moon?
No, Buzz would never say that, ever.
I think it's such a good angle with that camera let me tell you I you see what they're
doing with a I'm talking about yeah on the moon that's what you're saying it's a
I know I mean you know NASA we won the space race we have the technology to be
clear to be clear whole life believer we want to the moon now as we did okay yeah
certainly questions whatever the case we did okay we did I Okay, yeah. Certainly questions, whatever the case. We did, okay.
We did.
I love that we bluffed if we didn't.
I like that we beat Russia just being like, yeah, we fucked.
Even if we didn't, you know, like that, I still think we won the entire thing if that
was how it went.
Now, did we go?
I hope so.
That is up.
For the good of America.
That is up.
I hope so.
I hope we did.
We did.
Age. Well, we haven't been able to make it back. We had perfect connection connection could hear them. They're they a slingshot around the moon to get back telemetry first time trying it obviously
1969 is a great minds great minds. You ever seen hidden figures? Love it. Yeah. Yeah, I have good math
Exactly. That's good math. I agree. Okay, so we did go
It's wild, you know, cuz I don't even know if they had
this phone yet then the rotary. Oh, we, we had the rotary. That was Gilligan's Island.
Yeah, you're right. You forgot. I forgot. So we saw how those scenes were and now it's
Gilligan's Island. They couldn't get off of fucking TV fucking TV show
All right, so let's say we did go to the moon we because we did
Okay, we went to the moon. I'm pumped USA USA
USA but even if we did it and there's people that doubt it there's no if we didn't
You can leave that out. I would still like the people then that don't believe it
Okay to know that we still beat them sure cuz we bluffed them. They had the nuts allegedly potentially we didn't we bluffed them
We won so that's good for us. Anyways, you say you say it's still
Without a doubt and if you don't believe fucking wake up Anyways, USA, USA, it's still USA, no matter what.
And if you don't believe, fucking wake up.
Wake up.
That's all I've got to say about that.
Oh shit.
I pledge allegiance to the flag that was on the moon for the United States of America.
To the Republic.
For which it stands.
One nation under the moon, America to the Republic for which it stands one nation
under the moon which we went to how come no one else has said any humans yeah how
come we haven't been back because we told him hey like listen you're playing
for second place we already know what's up there we brought the cheese back and
they're not America no one wanted to check it out for themselves no that's
kind of that's kind of how it always works with the world without a doubt. We told them
Hey, listen, you can go you're not gonna make it. You don't have the fucking telemetry
You don't have the scientists. You don't have the mathematicians that we have you try if you want to die
Go ahead go do it. You think anybody's gonna ever try it again. I
Mean, I'm sure you know, we'll probably head back when we need to when we when there's another race when we deem fit
Can we get a cannonball run to moon? So maybe somebody would get a little excited to make it not a bad idea
You know who is going back to the moon very soon here. Oh TC
He's doing it on his fucking next movie. Well movie is what they yeah, but he's actually going
No, I'm so man on the moon. No, I'm saying he's actually going yeah, it's a movie
But he's actually going to the moon the first the first moon landing. Yeah, listen, I've heard the fucking red hot chili peppers song, okay
That guy's heroin addict
That guy's a heroin addict he doesn't fucking know He's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's back he's Oh, yeah, we've been so dude hit a golf ball from the moon. Well, that's when we initially went
Our first in a can't remember feels Neil or buzz
I'm sure they both fucking took a couple hacks up there striped it. They striped it still go space junk still rolling
It's a title exactly. Mm-hmm was title is even around back then. What was that? What type of golf clubs were?
I got I'd have to look into what kind of
Yeah, it's lozenger. Maybe I'd have to look into what kind of clubs, you know, Arnie Palmer was using, but.
I guess Alan Shepard hit a donger up there.
Sure.
Al Shep.
Alan Shepard, an astronaut on the Apollo 14 mission,
was the first person to hit a golf ball on the moon, 1971.
So he went back.
And they stayed.
Yeah.
We went back.
I fucking love that we did that. Had to. How do you feel now? Do you change your opinion, now that we did that how do you feel now?
Do you change your your opinion now that we know that Alan Shepard hit a fucking it's still going as Google Google doesn't lie my
friend
Well, actually I think that's kind of been a big part of a conversation look at that
So they set up the shot like they were survivor man
You remember when that guy was out in the woods you had to set up his own shot some
Influencers do it now around their house they set up a camera walk through the shot go back get the camera reset it back up live their life do the whole
Thing that's what they did up there. Yeah, because we couldn't you know run the risk of having the film
you know potentially be
some sort of interference with the
The you know tools on the no glitches was this live or was this recorded?
You know, I'm sure there was a live feed to NASA
I know that good service. That is really good service. Well, it's that light something
As I see right there's yeah
Boom that's what it's all about. I'm so pumped. We got up there me too. You were saying you
Say maybe you need to do some more research. I think you should.
Let's do some, is this bad D or good D?
This is good D. This is James Winston.
So this is, this is good D.
Come on man.
Trent, Trent McJuffins had a cool interception.
Used the Jumbotron in this one.
Once again, third quarter, 13 minutes left, first and 10.
At this point, it's a 21 to seven game.
So a game well within reach with 13 minutes left in the fourth quarter
first down like you just can't have
This type of play you can't make these type of decisions as a quarterback great job great awareness by Trent McDuffie
Understanding where he was on the field peeking up at the jumbotron
Which obviously does not have a delay in that building getting his head around and picking his ball off but for Jameis Winston I think this is one of
the plays that led to them making the decision to go with the young man DTR just can't make
these decisions and if you watch this game like the Brown we saw it on AQ's clips like
we saw what Miles Geary their defense was doing they had opportunities to actually win
this game against the Kansas City Chiefs But if your quarterback continues to turn the ball over at the rate that Jamis was
Just put the team in a bad spot. That was kind of the Jamis story coming out of Tampa Bay
It ends up being that way for Cleveland even though they're already out of it
He's been slinging it around McDuffie using the jumbo tron crazy is sweet
A lot of guys running the ball will use the jumbo to see if anybody's tracking
Yep him having to wear with all that it's on his side of the field, and it's him, and oh, ball's coming out.
It's just like when the sideline yells, ball!
He actually saw it with the Jumbotron.
He takes a quick glimpse, too.
It's like very, there it is.
He's looking at it right now.
Kind of eases up, and gets his head back.
Don't, you know, you see a lot of young DBs
panic in this moment.
Gets his head, turns it to the receiver,
gets his head back, and then makes a play on the ball
It's an unbelievable play by Mcduffie
Gee got his knee down which is we know two feet why great job James can't catch a break
I mean guys using a jumbo James's fall
Guy can't even go back shoulder on these guys because there is no back shoulder everything's front shoulder cuz they got
360 vision on the goddamn jumbo throw it away
No, what first or in or the guy right in the middle of the field that was wide open
I mean, I don't know
You couldn't see him drew tranquil was there who are you saying? Oh, you got it's so easy in the sky
Yeah, I just don't think I don't think the guy in the end zone was even close to being open
Let's just watch this guy right here in the middle of the field here
Let's just keep let it go. Let it go. Let's just watch.
Mahomes dumps that right there. Touchdown. Sleep. Good night. Night night.
No, that's a buddy pass. Josh Allen finds that touchdown. Look at James.
James. Josh Allen ain't Jamis, brother. Is that guy in this? I don't think so.
Is he brown? That's the problem. Oh my God.
That's right.
James, keep spinning it pal.
Keep spinning it.
I don't know where he's going to end up.
You know, I don't know how it all goes, but I hope we can continue to watch him throw
a football around.
Let's see the Giants.
Giants, maybe the Raiders.
He'd be a perfect Raider.
You saw Coach Prime was on with Pac-Man on the Pac-Man Jones show and he's been getting
great conversations out of that. Incredibly proud of him to continue to do that. Coach Prime said
Giants are staying at number one and then he said should doors go in number
one to Pac-Man Jones. Pac-Man Jones, Coach Prime, long relationship know each
other very well so feels like the Giants already have their eyes if we listen to
Coach Prime which we should. Guys got connections everywhere. I think you
just got somebody else on the transfer portal, Liberty quarterback maybe?
Let's go to one half of the hammer.
God, Cowboys, Tone Diggs.
Was it the Liberty quarterback that just transferred
from the transfer portal into Colorado?
I will look.
I will look.
I don't know if Kayden Salter went there or not.
If it did, he's awesome.
Yeah, I think he-
I believe so.
Bruce is saying yes.
Yes.
I believe it just came through.
So he's got juju going up there
The number one ranked quarterback of next year's class
He reclassified it into this year's class and then he's also got the kid from Liberty who is phenomenal
Yeah, Salters a he is much more of a dual threat than should err was but a great bridge like a lot of these
Schools are looking for a bridge veteran quarterbacks who are like said they're these schools are looking for bridge veteran quarterbacks
who are like, they're bringing in these five star
true freshman quarterbacks, but they're bringing in
these bridge veteran quarterbacks to go for a year
to let the five star kind of sit and learn for a year.
But Salter was, put up prolific numbers at Liberty
two years ago, the team wasn't as good this year,
but still, he still put up a bunch of numbers,
but he is a great dual threat quarterback.
Okay, so you sure thought about West Virginia
but obviously coach Prine you know where to find me and congrats to him
continuing to have success. As we're talking about the transfer portal West
Virginia is looking for a kicker and I think there's a kid from Western
Kentucky that's potentially in transfer portal I've been watching your film bud.
Think about it. Head on down. How's your work ethic? You got a good work ethic? I think
there's a chance you could be a botanier if you wanted to buddy. I think there's a chance.
There's some others too. Looking for a kicker. I think there's some other positions. I'm
trying to get as much information about the transfer portal as possible from Coach Rod
about who we're looking for because I watched that game last night. Oh yeah. Some good memes.
Hey, how much money do we need to get guys that are your guys in there?
Cuz there's probably gonna be a transition error.
That's what Prime is trying to eliminate here.
The turnover from this Colorado Buffalo's team could be one that's drastic.
Instead, he's like nah, just like we did whenever we came in here,
we had that one losing season and we win.
We need to continue to have that.
So he's hitting the portal hard, just like Kirk Cignetti was able to do.
At Indiana, he hits portal hard, he Kirk Cignetti was able to do at Indiana
He hits portal hard. He gets his guys in there coach Rod's gonna have to get his guys in there
I think after watching last night and this entire era of Neil Brown football
Although hey, we appreciate what he's done just vastly different style of player and then wearing Neil Brown shirts out there
I appreciate their loyalty to Neil Brown and appreciation for Neil Brown
You lost the game, but like could have been a good tribute win the game
But I think there's gonna be some guys that we're gonna get in there and
I'm pretty excited about it all. Transportal is a game-changer. Oh yeah.
It's also a headache it sounds like for these college football playoff teams.
It's a massive detriment. Kurt Signecki's like, so we gotta get 15 more guys in
here out of Transportal like we did last year, but we're preparing for the
biggest game in the history of our school And then 70% these guys are we gonna have homes and I can't even as I work and it right last
He's like we got people calling my guys saying
How are they?
What are we mean that both good change has to change? Yeah the bow thing and please but go ahead AJ to your point
It has to change. Yeah, it has to change. What's really Baker in here tomorrow a
To your point has to change. Yeah, it has to change. Well, I'm Charlie Baker in here tomorrow a
Lot of questions about a lot of stuff. So can you just have one transfer portal then? I think that there just has to be a time slot for it
The issue is the academia because you got to transfer before you can see you can apply for the spring semester
I think because you have to have classes you are correct
So I think that has become the big and if you miss a spring semester
Then you don't have enough credits to potentially be in it. So it's like a I don't know how they fix that legitimately
I don't know how they fix that
I had no idea you almost have to like eliminate a conference game and then make sure that the college football
Playoff is done by New Year's Day or something like that because otherwise there's just eliminated non-conference
Well, yeah, exactly
Or you just push it back because if it ends January 20th, when's the Pro Bowl?
The February 2nd or 3rd, then you just push it back the entire thing.
But then they're not in school until when? April?
Yeah, but then the transfer window, right?
And when does the transfer portal end?
Oh, you're saying have the transfer portal open and end before the College Bowl playoffs start?
Yeah, bingo. So you push the final back. and end before the cause football playoffs start. Yeah bingo
Mmm, so you push the final back. So you push the whole thing back. Oh, so there's a longer
Transfer portal time is like what two weeks what they got off. Yeah the same time Yeah, it's the the time they have off cuz then if the team and all the decisions already made before the college football playoff
Yeah, oh
That's a that's a quagmire. It's a little bit of a quagmire with the academia thing.
You just need the schools to be able to accept the other places' credits.
You know, like-
Which-
Never happens.
That shit's impossible, yeah.
Especially if they feel like they are higher academically than you are.
Huh.
Like West Virginia, I don't know how many of mine would have transferred over if I would
have wanted to, somewhere else.
Yeah, that's cool. we do forget about the school
Forget about the school aspect with all of this portal and NIL situation you forget that they're in school still
Yeah, there's a spring semester coming up and they have to get enrolled in because classes fill up
And that matters if you go to Ohio State you got trimesters, right? I
Don't they do something different now than what I did we didn't start school till like September 20th when I was there
Okay, Oregon's doing that. I think dumps you remember that they they is it try man. I don't know if it's trimesters
Maybe it's trimesters. I don't know
They had just gotten to school like a week or two before like whatever week we were there a lot of the Ivy Leagues do
That trimesters. So you start late start later and you end later yeah they
begin September 30th it says yeah most of the max and Ohio school trimesters
yeah and then you just go into the summer yeah you go into June yeah I
wouldn't at all we were always staying anywhere for summer school and workouts
so yeah yeah we were there year-round what are you gonna do so message you
guys have pass fail up there?
What do you mean, like class?
Yeah.
You know, grade?
Some classes, yeah.
Those are the transition ones that don't play.
Well, I learned from Colin Clority was his name,
tight end from Brown University, my draft class.
Dog, genius.
He had pass fail classes.
All of them?
At Brown.
Every single class.
I've never been more frustrated
whenever I learned something.
I'm like, so you just gotta fucking pass the class?
It's amazing.
Yeah.
That's all you have to do?
Be okay with a D?
Hey, let's go.
I can figure that out.
It's harder though.
I took a handful like that.
How'd you feel?
Fine, cause you just, a lot of them,
it was an option when you signed up for class
You just had to declare do you want to do pass fail or do you want to do the regular?
What I didn't have that option sometimes they may have that for like at the towards the end of the semester
Let's say you you are doing very well, but one of your classes you're not doing well and it's bringing down your GPA
They'll be like we can make this pass fail for you. Oh, that's a good little play
Yeah, they did that a fair field
I forget if it was that fair field if it was someone that I knew that was like playing sports somewhere.
Ghost tags. Yeah I don't think it was Fairfield. Yeah West Virginia I just took two F's in two
classes. Come on. Can't drop me I'm not gonna be here. Just give me two F's please keep me in a
class though I need 12 hours to remain eligible. I'm leaving after the season magic Johnson. Yeah
I'm not gonna be here
This feather she's the best she's the absolute best college was fun. It was great time
School was something
What's your major?
Sociology, did you graduate? Yes. Congratulations. Thank you.
Hall of Famer and a graduate. No big deal. Holy shit. I had to get it. I had to get that paper.
Sociology is the study of people interacting or groups interacting with other groups. Society,
people raise different groups, different genders, different races, all these different things.
I was a sociology minor. Those were some of the most, those were the best classes.
I think they have done me very well
in the world that I'm in now.
Yes.
In a locker room, I think it has helped me out a lot.
I think in life it's helped me out a lot.
I enjoy the sociology stuff.
It also told me that polls are all bullshit.
Which?
Like North and South?
No.
Those are moving right now.
Polls.
LL.
Yeah, because like who are you asking?
Where is this being asked?
How is the question delivered?
Like all those types of things.
They started making you like immediately start the question.
Shout to sociology.
Congrats to you.
What was your major?
Labor Employment Relations.
Oh yeah, I forgot you wanted to be the longshore guy.
That's right.
That's right.
Seed it.
WVU undergraduate students are now able to select
high pass, pass, fail grading for their courses.
Students may select HPP or F option
on a course by course basis.
They may have some courses that use
the traditional grading scale
and some of that on pass fail grading scale.
Okay, listen, if you're in a transfer portal,
okay, and you have a good work ethic
and school is a little bit more difficult,
you know, to either care about or to get through,
we got pass, fail.
High pass, good job.
You go HP all day.
You'll be on the all academic big 12 team.
You go with the P's though, they get the grease.
Come on in, the water is fine.
I'm so fucking pumped.
Let's go Mountaineers.
Let's go Mountaineers.
All right.
How did that affect GPA?
You just don't get one.
GPAs are like a thing of the past.
It doesn't count towards you. You just move on get one. GPAs are like a thing of the past. It doesn't count towards you.
You just move on.
I mean, that was COVID.
That article is from COVID.
I assume a lot of schools because of COVID changed.
I don't know how anybody got through anything
with Zoom classes.
If I had to do that in my house
with Sally and Tim and my brother,
weee, dial up, and then you sit there
and they're teaching you. I'm paying attention no way they
weren't they weren't physically capable of making it back then anyways let's say it happened
now let's say I'm in the same situation but actual good internet same house same setup
same family no fucking shot how many people dropped that everybody dropped out of school?
I mean, there's an entire class of people. I assume they were just like this ain't for us
How do we you know, how do we we have no room? What is this in middle of fucking living room?
We're doing this and everybody's just staring at these people. I what where's he where do we use a bathroom?
I wonder where do we put a class at or your siblings?
Yeah, how many how many different areas do we have?
I don't know how anybody did it, but congrats to the group that had to do that.
Probably still feeling the effects of that right now.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
It depends on which age, because my kids are doing it like elementary, middle, and once
they went back they were cool.
And in Florida too, so I feel like we went back a little sooner and got re-acclimated,
but if that was like your senior year in high school, it sucked. That was my sister
Yeah, yeah, I mean crazy whole senior year gone and then even into college like kids the COVID thing
Especially imagine if it was your junior and senior right?
Cuz it was like two years that's a lot of development there sports situations
Yes, for a lot of interaction with humans that you need to, to grow.
Yeah, as a human.
Just fun times.
We got to remember that for the people at that generation,
whenever they say things and we go, this ain't your fault.
You literally, your experiences that we had out in the real world,
you're on the internet. So like, that's why you feel the way you feel.
But life happens and hopefully you'll catch up but it's not fair what
happened to you but you survived a lot of people didn't. That's right. That's what we
gotta remember didn't just survive we thrived. That's right. Speaking of thriving who
are the five offensive lines from week 15 that thrived more than anybody else in
the NFL? It's time to go in the trenches with A.Q. Shipley for our top five performing offensive lines from week one five.
Here we go, here we go, here we go. We got the Atlanta Falcons at number five.
Wow, this is Kirk Cousins. Yeah, which probably leads to the decision a little
bit further is the fact that this group has not been the problem. There's really
been one guy that's been the problem over the last couple of weeks.
And so it's easy to make this decision with Mr. Kirk Cousins.
The old man.
The old man can't do what he used to do.
He can't do the play actions because the boys up front can run the shit out of the ball.
Let's watch Mr. Chris Lindstrom at Red Garment.
Wouldn't that lead to having a play action if you can run the shit out of the ball?
That's why they should be doing it.
But he can't do it because of his Achilles.
He can't.
He can't hand the ball off
He can't do the pivot. It's the rollout. It's the rollout
There's a couple times in this game where he's handing off like even this one this looks painful this looks like somebody
Like trying to reach for this zone right here. Like it's like oh he missed that one
He couldn't get over there couldn't get over there quick enough exactly
There's a lot of issues like that
But I love this split zone AJ can talk a little bit more about this boy when the fullback goes
Opposite of where the running back goes it holds the linebackers in place
They also took themselves out of it on defense because they're blitzing off the weak side fan fan fan
Lindstrom puts his guy on the ground and boom Bijon does what Bijon does 125 yards. He's starting to look electric
Elena Falcons number five performing
offensive line congratulations to them they have a chance?
Uh, no. Okay. Nope, they sure don't. Let's go to number four performing offensive line out of
week 15. This team might be my pick to win the Super Bowl at this point.
It's huge. The Green Bay Packers. Green Bay Packers number four this week. They have been fantastic. We are just gonna check this out
I love the floor obviously have I've said this a lot
But when they send this motion here this is all game plan watch the DB bump back into the box as they run the zone
No, let that go. Let that go. So we're gonna motion across first now
We're gonna set it right there and now we're gonna send a fly motion
Across the formation and when that happens, you'll see a db bump into the box right about
There and as that happens as that db bumps in now you get a little guy
And you got a single combination between center and left guard jenkins as he climbs to a db. It's easy as shit
You don't want that you just run them out of the way
And that is all game plan, you know, whether they're're gonna be a bump team or if it's man coverage team
I mean, they're gonna run with it and that linebacker stays in the box
But when you know, it's a zone team and you get them in zone coverage like this boom we send that nobody bumps with them
We know it's zone. Okay, cool. Now, let's send the motion
They're gonna bump back in and now you get a 330 pound guard who's been an all pro before on 190 pound DB
AJ that's all planned. Oh, yeah, he's got that look at number two. He's got that B gap
So you'd much rather have a nickel or a safety or a corner
Happen to step in the box and play that B gap instead of 13 to your inside backer
It's brutal
Genius, and it happens at the snap to Pat
That's the thing like you see that jet motion and boom ball is snapped DB's like, oh no
I got I'm a big gap defender here and I have a monster in my face already. We need to give the floor his
flower la flyer la
Love flyer screwed it up smart most conservative coach in the NFL this year going for it on fourth. He's so good though
He is so good at game planning.
No no conservative on his decisions on fourth though. Not conservative politically but okay we have not got the other answer we'll certainly uh. With that motion too then like
eventually they'll just hit Jayden Reed going the other way I think he had like four of those and
he had an end around each one like 12 or more yards. That's right and then they'll do the
spinner thing that they do where they fake it to there
They fake it here spin around run the counter back the other way
Do you like that Jordan loves super cool and just does a head nod as the motion instead of anything with his leg
Look at the head nod looks over. I like it. Let's say hey you come on. That's awesome. That is all has super cool
That's awesome. And then jet sweep right there could happen takes 55 out of it over here
It's a great single great single by the center and front side. The all-whites are sick. Yeah
All right. Let's go to the number three performing offensive line from week 15
We will go to the desert the Arizona Cardinals number three
Fuck you. Sorry. Sorry
You saw it you saw him run the shit out of the ball every team gets the Patriots has made top five hasn't it this time?
Damn, yeah up there. It's over. over will be on bad D or something like that. It's a trend with all three of the teams so far on this list
Yeah, yeah, there's no doubt about that, but listen here. I miss that
There's a trend on the people who they're going against I think is what he's trying to say
Rangers Raiders see looks pretty good. That's how you were saying Nick
Yeah, they're definitely known for their defense
Yeah, all right
Well, you want to go play you can play
Yeah, Mike McDonald's a good defensive coach Arizona Cardinals good offense. You got a good offensive line
Yeah, let's alright
So this has become the trend obviously nobody wants to block the center back on a backside three or in this case,
even a wider four eye technique on the backside tackle.
So we just man it.
And now we pull the center.
The center's gotta be athletic in today's game.
Let's pull the center.
Boom, he's gonna get cut down,
which should be fucking illegal
as he gets his knees chopped out right here.
Then we get the tackle around.
It's good edge.
Yeah, it's bull shit.
I mean, it's great edge.
The boys are playing hard.
It's bull shit.
Great edge. That's clinic tape. That's clinic tape. Outside leg. Yeah, clinic's great. I'm playing hard bull right
Tape oh, yeah clinic tape outside leg. Yeah, but it was showing that the team meeting I mean my daughter could run through the fucking hole
So he did a great job setting the edges we get a big gaping hole
Right up as Jonah Williams seals the backer and boom James Connor out the gate
How good is that?
The other thing too if you go back just rate rate to the beginning of the blocking if you go back the left tackle
paris johnson does a nice job kind of
Bumping this shade down. Watch this. He's gonna come down on the high leg
And number 70 to the left
Boom
Oh, and then what and then he climbs he misses the climb climb but we're not gonna talk about it
He opened the hole he opened the hole we take care of the down guys before we get to the second level
All right sucks man. Yeah, man, but he can't do anything once they get on the lines in between the lines
Let's go to the number two performing offensive line from week 15 the Buffalo Bills
How good are they 104 yards rushing I think from cook and he has been fantastic this year you get Dion Dawkins
He's always the star. We always start. Hey, he appreciates you. I love it. You hear that. He talked a lot of love
Yeah, that was pretty cool. I love it. I love seeing that. That was really cool. He's been fantastic
You take a look at this one and I'm not gonna give away the first one or the number one team this week
But probably the two best left tackles in the game right now. You got Deion Dawkins opening this thing up.
He's going to settle cause he knows he's got it tight.
Just seal him down inside.
We get the pull right here.
Boom. There's the kick out. Great job by the left guard.
Getting up on the linebacker and boom, he's out the gate.
Try to pull the dreads.
Tried to pull the dreads.
Which is legal by the way. Everybody knows that's legal.
Yeah, it certainly is.
You can do it.
But this is their, this is their bread and butter play
They love pulling tackles whether it's Dion or whether it's Spencer Brown
They love pulling the tackle because what that allows is everybody else just to block down and then all you got to do is
See in this case
He's really pulling for the guy that was over Dion Dawkins
And so you got to be on the same page here cuz Dion
Takes his guys he slants inside and then he's got to adjust on the lineback and then James Cook sets this
Up makes him go this way boom fucking bang bang bang a good running back always sets up his block. Oh, that was sick
another combine drew
Yep, that's right almost there Jamal Adams all right
Who's the number one performing offensive line from week 15 in the trenches with a q shipless?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
15 in the trenches with a q shipler the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Another week of over 200 yards rushing and this is the best left tackle in the game. It's unbelievable the transition He's been able to make Tristan worse as an absolute dog
Dog, but they're gonna run counter. They love to go on they love going with this Liam Cohen does not because he wants to be in the 11
personnel
McVeigh world, but he loves using what he has and they have two
really good tight ends and a fullback. Coquif you're gonna run counter but let's
take a look front side first. Let's look at KDOT number 88. By him arcing here it
sets up Bosa and holds him it freezes him just enough so now he can't crash
down off of Gideki and when he does that now you get the kick out from the backside guard watch Gideki
Fucking send this guy to the opposite agap boom. He climbs look at co keith climb
This is beautiful and then we get a nice block by aught and at the second level on james and we get out the gate
They have been fantastic
How about the bucks? They've been fantastic. You're even too buckucky Irving's been fantastic. He's really set this running game on fire.
They got three really capable backs.
They got one of the better offensive lines in football.
Top five in almost every rushing category.
They are a team you do not want to see come playoff time.
You said the Packers are going to win the Super Bowl.
I mentioned yesterday, what if the Bucks win?
I guess a lot of people from Bucks fandom
told me their defense isn't good enough.
They said the defense hasn't been good enough this year. They haven't, they're lacking a couple edge guys.
They're lacking a little bit on the inside interior wise.
Obviously Vita's fantastic, but other than him,
they're not real stout.
So they're giving up some inside runs.
They've lost Antoine Winfield a couple of times
to injury this year.
Yeah, so they do have some issues on defense.
And then what does he do whenever he has issues on defense?
He blitzes and you can get burned when you blitz especially if the quarterback has hots and reads or anything like that
That's right still can beat anybody. Yeah, that would be the first time at matchup right now would be bucks Packers. Oh
Gonna be a good one speaking a good one. That's another good one. He's done in trenches. Thank you
Congrats to bucks returning back and
Falcons Packers Arizona and Buffalo your offensive lines are leading the way you should be incredibly pumped and
Impressed by what they're doing. Thank you. Thank you. You're the man
alright a kush
Yesterday Darius J. Butler chose the easiest
That two days ago second. Yes. Yes. I watched it. He threw threw it through what do you think the easiest is drained it?
I know these oh
Yeah
He's talking about Anthony Richardson walking all the way over to the net just
Which is if we're ranking them, you know, that would be the easiest. Yeah. Yeah, I'll be second easiest by far time in here
Did anybody else try that throw yet?
Diggs did.
How many times did he make it?
Oh, four.
Maybe it's not as easy as Darius might look.
Athlete.
You got to win the game you're supposed to win.
That's right, you got to show up and play.
Good point.
That's what college football story was this year.
Yep.
Like, hey, yeah, you can get beat by anybody at any time.
Can your boys show up and win
every single week when they're supposed to.
Now, you get conversations with a little bit
of a southern draw and they say it's a lot easier
to show up every single week when you don't have
fucking Ole Miss next weekend, and Tennessee this weekend,
and Georgia two weeks from now, and fucking Texas
on the other side of it, it's certainly a lot easier
to show up every single fucking week, but nonetheless.
Anybody can beat anybody, you gotta show up.
And you did yesterday.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
What would be crazy if you couldn't make it in the bad Minton donned?
It's a Jasmine.
It's a different game that talk found on the Internet.
Sorry, Reels found on the Internet over there until
tick tock is officially going to be something that exists in the future
in the United States of America.
Reels isn't bad.
I like rules. Reels isn't bad. He like Reels. Reels isn't bad at all.
He don't like it.
I mean, he don't hate the same as Topp.
That's because we've known him as Topp.
This is like whenever they went from Washington.
Football team.
No, to Washington football team.
Oh, yeah, and they still don't hate the same.
What doesn't?
The name.
What would you like them to be named?
It's not my decision.
Now I got a lot of teams, that ain't one of them.
Thank God.
They look like they're good though.
Yeah, not one of your teams yet.
Yeah, that's right, it might become a team.
I do like Jayden.
What team are you gonna drop to pick them up?
Who's on the chopping block from your fandom?
I don't know, he's got 42 teams.
Nobody.
I think there's one team.
What's that? No teams on the chopper
block for me. Dolphins. I'm a lifer. Colts. That's my football home forever. Okay. Jalen Hurts. I
expect to be playing for a long time. I'm a fan of him. Justin Herbert. Same thing. So what about
Jaden? You don't like Jaden? You're not a fan of Jaden? I mean, I can't drop. I can't drop. I mean,
you got five though. Yeah, you got 14. So I'll just grab a hand pull for his for his enough.
All right, a Q you're not a fan of any team you bury anybody.
That's right. That's why we appreciate what you do. Are you
going to throw a football through the Jasmine Square over
there? How do you feel about it? You confident because we were
mocking Darius? Yeah, you better get it for for being too easy.
And then he stepped up and threw a rope right through the age you think a kush has a chance of bearing his first try just like Darius Butler did yesterday
Yeah, I think a Q definitely makes this thing first try boss and Connor your thoughts on a cute might need your readers though
Now it's big enough, you know, he would need a reader if it was a difficult this one is already this is like
This is like one of them. I mean holes that's tough throw though what's that still not
a guarantee I mean that's what is that 20 yards maybe yeah probably 22 yards it
must look different through the screen then Hawk it does look it looks it looks
difficult from here it's not my turn a Q all you got to do is put that football
through the jazz mint and hole over there sports thinks but the net is fun
Especially whenever it comes to giveaways 30 people win $500 in the middle of this holiday season if you can do that feel good
Throw is online
This guy even get it to the jet D bud
What a throw by D, but yeah, I suppose 30 people $500
