Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello beautiful people and welcome to our humble abode the Thunderdome on this majestic overreaction Monday March 3rd 2025 this program starts now Spore are magical and we're lucky that we get to talk about them every single day right here on ESPN ESPN plus Disney plus YouTube and tick-tock live the second hour of today's show will not be on ESPN. We'll be bumped the ESPN too for spring training baseball, which ESPN is lucky to have. Let's go to the talk table, I have boss Connor and Ty Schmidt.
Starting point is 00:00:34 Did we know that spring training baseball is happening right now? I certainly did, but I did not, I did not think we would be getting bumped to the deuce for spring training baseball. Although- Red Sox Orioles! It's a big tilt. That's huge. It's a big tilt. It's a massive tilt. There's a chance, Did not think we would be getting bumped to the deuce for spring training baseball all those red socks or eels It's a big tip. That's a big chill. It's a massive tilt There's a chance. I don't know who's gonna play usually a lot of these spring training games. You're getting about I don't know
Starting point is 00:00:54 Ten to fifteen guys who will not be on the big club in in the summer You know, these guys are kind of just getting there getting their juice out shot the baseball though getting their juice out there. Shout out to baseball though. Baseball's back, shout out to sports. Shout out to sports. Found that out about five minutes before we went live and I was like, hey, it's all good. We're excited that sports are happening
Starting point is 00:01:10 because the football season is done, but the football drama is only kicking off even more. Now we're fresh out of a combine weekend and we'll break down who had a big time weekend here in Indianapolis and who maybe faltered a little bit. Well, Howard, who is potentially gonna be moving up in draft stock and who's potentially gonna be moving up in drafts lock and who's potentially gonna be falling back
Starting point is 00:01:27 to being an insurance salesman? We shall see in the middle of this drama time. Now, there is some teams that potentially are gonna make some cuts or some moves because of a salary cap adjustment. We're in the middle of a lot of action right now. Speaking of, we'll be talking to Sean McVay, head coach of the Los Angeles Rams,
Starting point is 00:01:41 in about 13 minutes or so. Massive story out of last week is Matthew Stafford is back with the Los Angeles Rams. We'll ask him about how we got there. What was the conversation like with Matthew on Friday morning that led to him getting extended, getting more money, and coming back to the Rams who were just one play away from beating the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC divisional round. Then in second hour, we'll be joined by Justin Jefferson. He's launching something that's incredibly cool called flight school where will be an invitation
Starting point is 00:02:07 to high school wide receivers to come do one-on-one workouts and basically like an elite 11 Manning Passing Academy type thing for wide receivers we do not know all the ins and outs of it but he is obviously best wide receiver in the league but if he was to team up with his other LSU guys just LSU guys you're talking about Jamar Chase, Malik Nabors, let alone if O'Dell Beckham Jr. was to come back, everything else, Mason Taylor, Jason Taylor's son, who ran the perfect gauntlet at one point straight down the line with it.
Starting point is 00:02:37 If it's just an LSU thing or if it's just a Justin Jefferson thing, this is great for the future of football. We'll also talk to him about the situation currently happening in Minnesota Who's gonna be their quarterback speaking of quarterbacks? A lot has happened over the weekend will chitchat about it all now at Boston Connor sitting there next to Ty Schmidt Combine weekend is a glorious one. What's your big takeaway from Indianapolis? My big takeaway is probably that you know, the more we shit on these guys the less they're gonna do it You know, we talk about how bad we want everyone to go throw, everyone to go compete, you know. Basically, it was a big time, oh, Will Howard's the guy this weekend. It felt like people just sarcastically burying
Starting point is 00:03:14 him. Hey, if we do this, we're going to continue to get a combine that's just watered down that no one does. And then when it gets to pro days, what are we gonna say? Well, this was just a routine. They do this every single day You can't really you know prove anything at a pro day. Anyways, who cares? I think everyone just needs to take a deep breath You know you you retweeted a post about Sean McVeigh or not Sean McVeigh Excuse me Sean Payton talking about Bo Nicks and that kind of I don't remember that from last year But that was a really cool little insight about you know Sean Payton basically saying this about Bo Nicks from his Combine Day last year. I believe he was talking to Peter Schrager. Did you know then that Bo Nicks was the guy? We didn't at that time. I would say
Starting point is 00:03:54 that decision probably was finalized or we felt real strong. It wasn't just the he had a pro day on Friday and then Saturday we had a private workout. And I think that Saturday after this private workout, we felt like that was our target. Yeah, at this point in time, we didn't. And he really didn't throw well. Is that right? Yeah. You remember?
Starting point is 00:04:20 Meaning, well, here are a couple things I can recall. So for years in our league, the footballs were never broken in. They come right out of the box. That's a challenge for a college quarterback. I mean, they're slippery, they're not broken in. And then you get in here, the temperature maybe is a little cooler than you think. It's air conditioned. And so learning all of those things, getting adjusted to that.
Starting point is 00:04:43 Don Yee's obviously an agent that I've worked with throughout my career and he had this young quarterback Tom Brady and he asked me can you call Tom and just tell him what to expect at the combine and this was like a favor and yeah there was no, the prep that they have now is so much different than just 20 years ago. And the understanding of what's to be expected, how to handle the interviews, how to handle the medical part of it, how to handle these drills. I've seen players that have bad ball skills that are outstanding through the gauntlet
Starting point is 00:05:16 and they've just worked on it so much. So again, it comes back to the medical information that's most important and then the interview. Alright, congrats. Another playoff season and we'll see what happens next year. Appreciate you coming down here on the field. It's nice to be down here and see some live action, right? Absolutely. Yeah, the suites are fine, but back in the old Hoosier Dome, this is where you went out
Starting point is 00:05:40 the exit and it was inflated. Your hair was kind of static cling and everything.'s good setup. That's it. Alright Sean Payne. Great breakdown of the combine as a whole but I think what you're saying is nothing that we know now is necessarily what's gonna be the case whenever comes draft time a lot of meetings a lot of still road to the draft is what you're referring to Conn man. Yeah exactly plenty plenty still to be proven and there's nothing better than a Pete Schrager laugh at the combine. Love Schrager, it was good to see Schrager. Yeah, great to see Schrager.
Starting point is 00:06:06 He is a man. Is he Pete, Pete Schrager? Did you see him? Oh yeah, he looks great. He does. Yeah, he does. And he's over in LA a little bit more now, so I think there's always a chance, but he's still bringing it, as always.
Starting point is 00:06:21 He is, but Sean Payton talking about how Bo Nicks wasn't even really their guy, and then obviously they have meetings that they get rolling he becomes that that's a big piece whenever we're judging these guys fresh out of the combine and yes I'm talking about Will Howard okay I'm an elimination chamber what an event what an event we will certainly talk about it why John why John what cuz John's looking to become the all-time leader in world championships in the history of the WWE you know and the final boss always has a plan. I don't want to dive into too much right now We will certainly talk about at some point
Starting point is 00:06:50 Great kick to the dick of Cody Roo I mean, yeah just perfect form knee drive straight into the X boom right into Cody and then Travis Scott Really brought one guy he did with some sage in hand Smack in the face and the final boss giving the kill sign. Certainly interesting with the two up there. You know, with the, I mean there's a lot to be said about Elimination Chamber. Also, to Canada, I would like to let, yeah, I mean, oh no. You saw a soul get sold right there. No John. No John. Sound, sound, sound, sound, no sound. Okay, listen, the pop of that place whenever he kicks him square into balls is absurd because I think a lot of people you know maybe missed the face that John Cena gave to the rock because it was
Starting point is 00:07:36 on a jumbotron over here so not everybody in the Rogers Center kind of knew what was taking place. Everybody at home kind of maybe knew a little bit more. In the place, I think some people saw it. You see a guy in the back, he sees the video because there's a Jumbotron. You see him go, no, no, no. And then whenever John kicks him, I think it was a massive surprise at the moment
Starting point is 00:07:55 in the arena, obviously. Massive surprise to the world. And something that none of us could have ever expected with John Cena. You know, John Cena's made a living on hustle all to your respect He has given out the most make-a-wishes in the history of make-a-wish now Everybody's saying this guy's breaking wishes He's break a wish and he kicks Cody Rhodes the American nightmare after he tells the rock to go fuck himself right in the balls
Starting point is 00:08:18 Insulinifies himself as a bad guy going into wrestle mania after winning the elimination chamber Which he said he was gonna do at the Royal Rumble and he even said it was best for business Which all these clues were there that this was gonna happen and we're just sitting along for the ride I had no clue what was gonna happen. Obviously. They would never tell me anything. I'm the lowest member of the totem pole I don't think anybody really had a clue what was about to happen and nobody could have expected which is why it was such a Magical ending to elimination chamber now Cody Rhodes Got punched in the face with his own Rolex Stuff for that to happen 40,000 right to the face from John
Starting point is 00:08:56 Cena and how long is John Cena been waiting to do this? Oh, man, let out a little bit of aggression You know because there was a time where Cena's super good guy He comes out and they go let's go Cena and then the other half of the place would go Cena sucks. He's like, I'm here every night. I literally commit my entire life to this thing. 20 years, I show up taking bumps, beating up my body, saying no to everything else. And some of the WWE Universe would boo him and say that he sucked. Now he gets a chance to kind of take out all that anger and frustration.
Starting point is 00:09:23 And we watched it. He bonked Cody and had multiple times with the title that that he's gonna try to win for the 17th time At wrestlemania the final boss couldn't have been more confident and travis scott just living his dream Travis scott's like welcome welcome to the crew, you know to uh, john cena. What a moment. I was lucky to be there now canada listen there's been something said to me from Canadians that I guess I respect because of the passion that you have for your country, which I hope you understand that I was showing the same for mine. You booed my country. Now, I heard from a lot of Canadians during the National Anthem, obviously, the Roger Center overwhelming boo. I mean, very loud boo. First reaction, whenever National Anthem starts up there was for some of these Canadians just to start booing.
Starting point is 00:10:08 And I'm like, what? Okay. Look, my entire life, my first reaction when somebody boos National Anthem is, fuck you. Yeah. That is my, I'm very thankful that I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the United States of America. I'm very proud that I am from the United States of America and is everything perfect?
Starting point is 00:10:28 Absolutely not. But my dad went from being a truck driver to a millionaire because he taught his son a work ethic and that anything is possible on this land here in the United States. Now I know that we're not the only country that has that happen but in my life that is the case. I've also moved out here to Indiana and got a chance to meet a lot of military members. I've been to a lot of bases. I know gold star families. I know people that have been affected for fighting for our country that really see the
Starting point is 00:10:52 national anthem as like our, hey, this is our shit. So anytime I've ever heard somebody boo our national anthem, my natural reaction is let's fight. That is literally my natural reaction. Now a lot of Canadians have told me, why don't you do a little investigating on why we're booing? Okay, did you hear what your president said? Okay, listen, I understand there's political differences at the current moment between
Starting point is 00:11:12 us and Canada. But I feel like anytime I think of Canada, I don't think of what Justin Trudeau does. I don't think immediately of Justin Trudeau's decisions. I don't think immediately of what Canada is doing in the political sphere. I think of the people of Canada. I think of Gumpi. I think of Putin. I think of the people of Canada. I think of Gumpi. I think of Putin. I think of the magical times that I had up in Niagara Falls
Starting point is 00:11:28 as a teenager, at the Wild Mushroom, the old casino, the new casino. Yeah, so I even talk about the adult ballets that maybe introduced me to a lot of things in life. I think about loonies and toonies in good times, and mounies allowing teenagers puking their streets because maybe we're a little bit over served. That's what I think of when I think of Canada.
Starting point is 00:11:46 I don't think of Justin Trudeau. Okay, so I understand now from the Canadians that they have a lot more passion for their country than I could have ever imagined. A lot of terrible things have been said about me and I understand it. You boo my country, I called your country terrible. Let's shake hands, okay?
Starting point is 00:12:00 You said you didn't boo every member of the United States or every citizen of the United States of America. Well, I didn't say the Canadians are terrible. I said your country was. So you booed us. I said you're terrible. Let's shake hands. Let's move along. That's what I would like to say. And I still love Canadians. Okay. We got one in the building. Literally hired right off of a ship painting job in the Northwest Canada brought him in his diction his accent the words he says the way he says things I think exemplifies what Canadians are as a whole his attitude his piece everything like that so I don't I love Canadians but my first reaction whenever you
Starting point is 00:12:36 boo our country is okay let's fight and I I'm sorry so let's go shake their hands Canada boom I hope it gets settled. Now I will do a lot more research into the political preferences of every country that is in part of a sporting event where there's gonna be a national anthem. Because if that's what we're booing people for, or booing anthems for,
Starting point is 00:12:56 I didn't know that was the precedent going forward, but okay, we all understand that now. With that being said, what an event in the Rogers Center. Oh man. What an event, what a night. Both elimination chambers, Jade doing her thing. What an event, what a night, both elimination chambers, Jade doing her thing. I mean, it was a magical night up there
Starting point is 00:13:09 and it ended with that staring us down. Now Travis Scott is right over the shoulder there, which a lot of people were wondering about, but I thought he looked hilarious in there, but he had me entirely. But it was a magical night up there and I was lucky to be there, lucky to be a part of it. I love any time I get a chance to work for the WWE.
Starting point is 00:13:25 With that being said, I look down on my phone, I get a text in the group text, while I'm in the middle of this. And it's from Bayley McComas. And it's a clip from the NFL saying, Will Howard's having a day. So I looked down and I'm so pumped. I'm like, let's go Will, let's go Will.
Starting point is 00:13:40 Retweet that thing, send that thing out. I'm like, and I watched the first couple of highlights, I'm like, that's good ball. That's good timing, that's great timing. This is what the NFL posted, send that thing out. I'm like, and I watched the first couple highlights, I'm like, yeah, that's a good ball. That's good timing. That's great timing. This is what the NFL posted. That's a good ball, leading the guy. Now granted, a little bit of an overthrow, but if that guy's a little bit faster,
Starting point is 00:13:53 maybe non-overthrow, maybe if he runs a different round, non-overthrow, drops in a bucket right there. How could you ask for anything better? Ball's coming out of his hand pretty well. How much strength does he have? Well, he throws a deep ball to a guy that's on a line. I'm like watching these clips, I'm like, holy shit.
Starting point is 00:14:05 Will Howard had a damn day. Turns out they really cherry picked these. These, Will Howard had a terrible day. Will Howard had a terrible day out there. And I'm still a believer, but that's why that Sean Payton video is so important. We have no idea what's going to take place going forward, but we are appreciative to everybody that worked out.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Everybody that did their thing. On that note, one half of the hammer, done. Cowboys, AP Tone, and back with us. Ladies and gentlemen nine-year NFL vet Darius J. Butler here D-Bots great to see you. You look so cool. Very thankful You are back tone D-Bots Who are some of the guys that we need to think about over the weekend for the combine who had a good one as opposed? To you know, the ones that people are talking about saying these guys might be selling Maybe jeans at Hollister coming forward. Yeah, let's go back to Thursday where it all started
Starting point is 00:14:50 with the D-line and the linebackers. It started with Landon Jackson who was 6'6", 270, jumped 40 and a half inches and ran a 4'6", was just insane. James Pierce later that day, the edge out of Tennessee, he ran a four four seven at 245 movie is going to lock in as a first-rounder and the winner of that day on Thursday was Texas A&M D Lyman Shemar Stewart who basically had the exact same numbers as Miles Garrett working out at the combine the 40-inch vert was six five two seventy ten eleven on the broad it and ran a four six 40 D but yeah absolute freak show now the question here you guys talked about on the show last week, you know, production, production questions about how do you only have four and a half sacks
Starting point is 00:15:31 in three years in college. But even with that being said, he'll still be a top 10, top 15 pick. When you put on a show like that, you have those measurables, you have that freak show over showing at the combine, you will go top 10, top 15 because these coaches, these GMs will take a chance on you
Starting point is 00:15:45 Yes, go to Friday when it was the tight ends and DB's Pat mentioned Mason Taylor who was awesome Also tight end Terrence Ferguson. We talked about him on Friday out of Oregon He tested he was the number one tight end in all testing he dominated and then Nick Imanwari The safety out of South Carolina just an absolute freak. He was 632 20 with a 43 inch vert It ran a 438 he was absolutely moving the fastest DB of the day who we actually talked about on Friday as well Was Maxwell Harrison out of Kentucky? He ran a 428 with a 39 and a half inch vert and then the first sure first rounder out of Texas Jada Baron He ran a fourth right three nine, which was it was a great time for him
Starting point is 00:16:26 Yeah, we saw we saw him play Against Ohio State doing this run in a great great corner big corner can play inside can play outside place lot play safety and play The outside corner last year where he won the Jim Thorpe award obviously as awarded to the best DB in the nation So I think this guy's will be a top, you know, probably 12 15 15 pick. I can see him at the Saints. I can see him at the 49ers, a big physical corner that can cover and that can show up in the run game attack. He showed he wasn't scared all year long, physical, physical player. And I didn't expect him to be that explosive or test that well here in Indy, but he did. So he made himself a lot of money. Yeah. Let's go to a Saturday, which I believe is the most exciting day of the combine is
Starting point is 00:17:03 the quarterbacks, the running backs and the wide receivers Let's start with the wide receivers Missouri wide receiver Luther Burton had a really nice day A lot of people thought he ran faster than he would at four for both Iowa statewide receivers Jaylen, Noel and Jayden Higgins. They both had a really nice day Dante Thornton the the wide receiver out of Tennessee He is six five two oh five and he ran a 4'3 flat, which is just absurd at that size. But the guy that probably made the most money on the day
Starting point is 00:17:31 was Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden, who ran a 4'2, 9' official, solidifying his first round. D-Butt. Yeah, made himself a lot of money. Now he could do everything. He could run routes from the inside, he could run routes on the outside.
Starting point is 00:17:42 He ended up being Texas number one wide receiver. Bond went down, transferred from Houston, went to Texas, played his ass off. But once again, another guy did not expect to go sub four, three. I know all his teammates said he was gonna break. Yeah, that was tough. That was tough.
Starting point is 00:17:58 Come on. You can't be doing that. It's bad. You can't talk that shit. He'd have run a bad time. He ran a good time when you come out and say that. But that being said, golden, special receiver he'll be probably wide receiver two or three off the board Let's go to the running backs who a lot of people say is is one of the deepest positions of the draft
Starting point is 00:18:13 They proved it on Saturday Daniel Jeremiah said literally every single running back who ran and worked out performed well like there was no one who worked out bad but some of the highlights no one who worked out bad, but some of the highlights. Bachel Tutin, 59206 out of Virginia Tech. He ran a 432 with a 40 and a half inch vert. He was the fastest running back on Saturday, which was awesome. With David Spade on the call, with Richard Daniel Jeremiah,
Starting point is 00:18:35 who had a fantastic weekend, by the way. Great work, boys. Yeah, David Spade looks super cool in those sunglasses. And thanks for coming to town. David Spade did a fundraiser for a local organization here, I think for free, so we appreciate the hell out of him. Thank you, David. A lot of people thought Trevion Henderson was gonna test really well He did okay, but a lot of Quinn Sean Jenkins out of Ohio State. He was 6 foot 220 He would looked good
Starting point is 00:18:54 He ran a 4 4 8 in the 40 which I think Surprised a lot of people him being that fast at that big and then the exact same height and weight 6 foot 221 out of UNC Amarion Hampton who's a lot of people's number two running back behind Ashton Genty. He also ran a 4-4-6. So those big boys were moving. Yeah, you mentioned number two running back. I've been hearing some- Oh, sports?
Starting point is 00:19:16 What? Sports? Okay. Saying he could possibly be the first running back off the board, which would be crazy with the season that Ashton Genty had. Boise State, Ben Heisman,-up. This guy is freaky talented. His numbers, freaky athlete as well. Back-to-back years of 15, rushing touchdowns on the ground. I mean just a special, special talent coming out of UNC. So yes, it was surprising to me to hear
Starting point is 00:19:38 that he's the top running back on a lot of offices. Probably has something to do with his pass protection and being able to catch the ball out of the backfield so he's a full three down running back that should be another first round yeah overall it was it was a great combine some of those those were some of the guys that stood out we'll talk about some of the quarterbacks later so that was when you were spun it he did that's right by saying same with Jackson Dart had a great one kid from Louisville struggled a little bit well didn't have his best day I assume the meetings were fantastic, but there was a couple of quarterbacks
Starting point is 00:20:05 who actually chose to throw who had big time days. We cannot bury every quarterback that has a bad day out here though, because none of them will throw. That is just a matter of a fact. So congrats to these boys. Joining us now is a man whose opinion matters a lot more than ours. He's Super Bowl champion head coach, Ohio guy,
Starting point is 00:20:22 former Mac wide receiver, greatest hair that a head coach has ever had. Ladies and gentlemen from the Los Angeles Rams, Sean McVay. Yeah. Hey, it's about time you guys had me on. Man, you have all my guys on. I'm sensitive. This is the first time I've been invited on here with you guys.
Starting point is 00:20:38 Hey, shout out to Artis. Okay, he and I had a great conversation. Shout out to Artis. Shout out to Artis making this happen. And also thank you for making time for us, especially in the middle of a very busy time I assume for you. Let's talk about what we just went through with the combine You're one of the first coaches after you guys won the Super Bowl. It said you know what with the way technology is I'm gonna stay back I'm actually not gonna go to Indianapolis, but our scouting personnel and everything else like that would travel out there
Starting point is 00:21:01 What is the combine to you and what should we take away from everything that we just kind of rattled off right there for you in your mind, Sean? Yeah, no, it's all a valuable part of the evaluation, but I think the trust that we have in our scouting staff to be able to vet these guys, to be able to use this as a piece for our evaluation, we're a little bit behind the curve with coaches. So the most important thing is let's evaluate the tape.
Starting point is 00:21:23 Let's find out how these guys are wired from a mental perspective. And so we can just get more done staying back. And it's a product of the trust that we have in our group to be able to continue to vet, continue to learn about them. And so it's a valuable piece, but the tape is the most important evaluation for us. When you get a chance to chat with these guys, what's the number? Obviously tape has to match and be good to qualify them to be as somebody that could be a Los Angeles Ram. But when you talk to them, what is the type of player that you're looking for to be a part of your culture?
Starting point is 00:21:52 Yeah, as you would say, we're looking for dogs. I mean, we want guys that are wired the right way. I think the biggest thing is, hey, how do you measure some of these intangibles by learning about them from their background, by seeing, all right, hey, when you've had adversity, how did you respond from it? What does that really look like? Are you wired the right way to be resilient,
Starting point is 00:22:09 to have tangible examples of being able to bounce back, use setbacks as set up for comebacks? And I think you've seen that reflected the last couple of years with some of these guys that we drafted. You look at Jared verse and Brayden Fiss, they epitomize exactly what we're looking for. Kobe Turner, Byron Young, Pooka Nakua, you know these are the kind of guys that there are kinds of guys that are mentally and physically tough and and they love to
Starting point is 00:22:32 compete and they're not afraid to continue to just swing even if shits not going our way. Yeah I love to hear that I think that's a necessity in football I think you got to be tough physically and mentally you rattled off a bunch of guys that we're massive fans of in such a quick amount of time in the NFL. With the way you guys built this roster, and we'll talk about Matthew Stafford here in a few moments, but with the way you guys did make that big play to bring in Matthew and kind of go all in the Aaron Donald era, you guys win a Super Bowl. On the other side of that, you have to hit on young talent. Less need has to be able to get in young guys that are cheaper, you know, even though they're making a lot of money and they're professional football players. But whenever you talk about a salary cap, you have to be able to get in young guys that are cheaper, you know, even though they're making a lot of money in their professional football players.
Starting point is 00:23:06 But whenever you talk about a salary cap, you have to be able to hit on those young guys. Why do you think less has been so good in doing that? And also, how good does it feel that you guys are one play away? Now, granted, Dylan Carter just said you guys aren't doing anything. We'll talk about that at the end of the the end of the division around with the Eagles that way you guys I mean, Puka makes that catch. the end of the division around with the Eagles. That way you guys, I mean, Puka makes that catch. Holy shit. The Rams just gave up that touchdown from Saquon
Starting point is 00:23:28 where he's punching his head in the snow and they're still almost coming back and winning this. And I know almost sucks and everything like that. But with how young your team was, almost in a transition era to have that much success, how good does it feel to be where you are right now? And then obviously getting Matthew back, how great of a move is that in your mind
Starting point is 00:23:45 so you can sleep at night? It's huge and that was always the end goal in mind Pat I think when you talk about what you're asking about with Les you know going into year nine now together I think there's a real rapport that we have in terms of what are the kind of guys we're looking for being able to identify having flexibility in regards to what does that roster build look like. You talk about after the Super Bowl, I think in a lot of instances we were kind of forced just based on the parameters. Like, hey, these guys got to play. And it taught us as coaches, hey, let's be patient, let's challenge these guys.
Starting point is 00:24:16 But I think you start to see things in guys that maybe they didn't even see in themselves. And then that confidence can compound with good experiences. We're getting better and better. I think we're able to learn from our mistakes and keep stacking good decisions. But, you know, that game was a battle back and forth. I think we all felt like we were winning that game 29, 28. Ultimately they got it done and they looked pretty damn good in the NFC championship and the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:24:40 And that really chapped my ass too. Yeah, I could see how, yeah, the Philadelphia Eagles just became an absolute wagon. Just beating the hell out of everybody except for the Los Angeles Rams, which is what the conversation was whenever we were hearing that Matthew Stafford was able to kind of go and listen to what the rest of the NFL was saying, both financially and what situations were available. Everybody was attacking it from different angles, obviously, because it's Matthew Stafford and it's the Los Angeles Rams. But a lot of it was, what is going to be a better opportunity to win?
Starting point is 00:25:08 And it feels like you guys are set up to win right now. Is that what you're telling Matthew Stafford when you meet with him on Friday? Or how does that conversation go inevitably for him to end up staying and extending as opposed to going elsewhere? Yeah, I think we always felt like that was the end goal, Pat. And really what it boiled down to was there was some mistakes where I had some growing up to do some things I could have handled better in the midst of going back a few years when we traded for Matthew and sent Jared to the Lions.
Starting point is 00:25:33 And so it was about communication. Let's be clear, open, and honest. Let's have the dialogue. Let's understand the end goal in mind is always to get you back here. And so that's really what that entailed. I think there was a lot of narratives out there. Because of the caliber of player he is.
Starting point is 00:25:47 There was a lot of stories, but I don't think either Matthew or myself ever really felt like this was a direction we weren't gonna go. And sometimes when you really care about people, you can have real conversations. And I think it's gonna be even better moving forward. And when you see what ends up coming of it,
Starting point is 00:26:02 you're gonna really see, man, this is a selfless decision on his part and this is really good for the Rams for how we move forward and keep building around him with him being able to play his best in the most important moments. And I sure don't take that for granted. I assume you just alluded to what the contract
Starting point is 00:26:17 is actually gonna be whenever it is announced because it was reported, I think, by Rappaport after he got his ass beat in a Starbucks but did not call. But he did not call But he did not call NFL security and there was no physical altercation But I think he reported about the amount of money that he turned down elsewhere to stay with the Rams and we all just kind Of joked about how bad moving sucks and like what is the tax to even pick up your family and move somewhere else? But also if he sets up his contract, right he can continue to build with this Rams team.
Starting point is 00:26:46 I think that's what you were alluding to there. Am I taking that out of pocket or no? Yeah, no, no, you're exactly right, Pat. And that's the thing. I think, you know, you want guys to feel great about where we're going and choose and do these four years of equity that we built up means something.
Starting point is 00:27:00 And that was demonstrated by the actions. I always tell our guys, I see better than I hear. And I saw him and his family make a choice to stay with us. And that sure means a lot to me. And we're a lot better football team because of it. That's a great line. Hey, I'll see what the fuck you do more than I hear what you're saying you're gonna do.
Starting point is 00:27:17 I love everything. I knew you'd like that. Yeah, that's good ball right there. I assume you got a lot of them, a lot of success very quickly. You gotta have a great brain on that note. D-Bud has a question question for you coach. Yes, sir So we talked about you know, you've been an Ohio guy I know you play your high school football down in Georgia where a lot of people know the story you beat out Calvin Johnson
Starting point is 00:27:32 To be the player of the year in Georgia What what absurd and it is that is crazy you're the top player in Georgia beating out Calvin Johnson That is crazy. You're the top player in Georgia beating out Calvin Johnson. Ungarnable this little white guy. I mean, dual threat quarterback. He was the first of the exciting whites. But with that being said, when did you know you were going to be coaching possibly in your future? What coaches had the biggest impact on your career coming up? Yeah, I mean, I've been really fortunate, but in terms of just being around guys that were willing to invest in me, my grandfather was a huge influence on me. My dad's one of the best leaders I've ever seen. You know, the one thing I will say about the
Starting point is 00:28:08 Calvin Johnson thing, I think my dad was the head of the voting committee. So that's, that's, that's a little nepotism award. We love that. Hey, don't let the truth get in the way of a good story though. Right. So it's, uh, I will say this though, you know, being able to get into the business as early as I did You know my grandfather the Gruden family being able to work for Mike and Kyle Shanahan I just been so fortunate to be around people that said hey, let me put my arm around you Let me teach you and then you see what it looks like to do it the right way And and that's been a huge thing that I don't take for granted I realized how blessed I am and really it's all, it goes back to the gram, my grandfather and the legacy he set for our family.
Starting point is 00:28:47 Yeah. Football family, football guy. And we got some football highlights of you. Calvin Johnson had no chance. You see what this guy's doing? You see what that thing is doing? It's terrible. Terrible? Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:28:59 Hey, look at the DBs chasing me, man. I mean, this is, this is, this is, this is not the same level of competition that Calvin had. That's a strike. I don't know. That was a duck. That was in your best throw.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Look at the form. Look at the form. High ball, good drop. Look at that strike. Hey, this is. Look at Aaron Rodgers. I got some better ones than these, though, man. You got to get some real ones.
Starting point is 00:29:21 I'll tell you, we did not create this. We certainly found it. That was a dime. Listen, stop selling yourself short. Your dad said, listen, my vote might be worth two, but the boy had a good year. The boy had a, look at the knee drive. A little bit over there.
Starting point is 00:29:36 Hey, let's have a little bit more respect. Sean, dog. Any sudden movement right now, I'm pulling my hamstring for sure. Do you still run routes and stuff in practice? I remember that story coming out there. Oh, yeah I've been working out with with Whitworth at his gym trying to say I haven't worked out like this in a minute But I'm trying to stay like you guys over there. Well, I'm taking science. You should do the same thing
Starting point is 00:29:59 Ty has a question about coaching in those who coach with you. Yeah coach I'm sure you've heard the adage now where it's like someone gets hired and it's, hey, they had a cup of coffee with Sean McVay. That's the reason, you know, that they're getting a head coaching job. You've had a bunch of assistants get head coaching jobs elsewhere.
Starting point is 00:30:15 Obviously one just happened this year as well. At what point did you recognize like, hey, I better not get too comfortable with my assistants cause they're gonna be looked at in a pretty solid light from what they've done here and they're going to get out of here and get opportunities elsewhere. And how difficult is it? Yeah, it is difficult. But I will say this when you're in the right headspace, it's the best thing that ever happens because all these guys, whether it's the Kevin O'Connell's, Raheem Morris, you look at Liam Cohen, end up getting a job. Liam Cohen ended up getting a job. Matt LaFleur, Zach Taylor, you know,
Starting point is 00:30:44 these guys have been instrumental in our success. They've poured into me and to our group. And I think when you really look at it, what it does is it attracts high caliber people. I'm able to always learn from the guys that come through here. Does it make it challenging that basically everybody's been here in some form or fashion,
Starting point is 00:31:00 they're sprinkled around the league? It does, but it's also the most rewarding thing. And you know, you can see that the culture's translatable to what's authentic to these guys. There's an urgency There's an enjoyment with how we go about this stuff And I'm so proud of those guys and just proud to be a small part of their journey, but it is a pretty cool thing How old are you now? 39 you're an old grizzled vet. I know I'm going into year nine now I'll tell you what this coaching shit is like dog years.
Starting point is 00:31:26 I mean, sometimes I feel like I'm 80 years old and, uh, you know, there's certain times where I say, Hey, let me just come on as a guest and kick it with you. But I love this stuff. I mean, it's the best. It really is. And, and I think having a little boy has given me a perspective that, uh, has really changed the way you go about it, the appreciation, the purpose and the perspective that's necessary.
Starting point is 00:31:47 And that's a pretty cool thing, Pat. Becoming a father is amazing. I have about to be a two-year-old baby girl and or a toddler, I guess now, I don't know all the titles, you fucking get it. But she's about 21 months old, gonna become a two-year-old. Didn't know if I ever really wanted to have a child.
Starting point is 00:32:05 I thought I was a little bit too selfish probably to have a kid. My life a little bit too busy. Then I meet my wife. My wife would be the perfect mom. We decide to go about it. We have this baby girl. She's the greatest.
Starting point is 00:32:15 I assume you feel the exact same. It is, I don't know how I would- I'm listening to you say it. No, you're right. It gives you real purpose. I mean, I'm embarrassed to say because you're so involved in your career, you're a little bit more selfish. And it's about you. And man, it gives you real purpose. I mean, I'm embarrassed to say because you're so involved in your career You're a little bit more selfish and has about you and man it gives you a perspective and I'll tell you what like it makes
Starting point is 00:32:30 Me love my wife that much more watching with the way that she is with him And you know, it's a reason to say what does it look like how you treat a woman, you know for him to see as a Young man growing up and it's the best. He doesn't care when I come home if I've had some shitty plate calls or not. He just sees dad and he's smiling and I said, you know what? It's going to be all right. Isn't it? Do you ever have any of those shitty play? It feels like you always, I mean, you're not. Oh yeah. Okay. So you're nine years into this 39. Obviously we all remember the super bowl against the Patriots and that's like talked about like Sean is beatable, but all these guys that get hired are because they think that they're gonna be able to bring in your offense over or your ability to move the rock over and we're in an offensive heavy league now I will
Starting point is 00:33:11 say you changed the entire league by far quickly not only with the influence but the offense and what everybody is doing but is there a time where you think like you're getting beat by people are getting outsmarted by people and how much is the game changing currently to a more power football as opposed to more wide open football? Shoot, I mean it's amazing when you look at when we got here in 17 to what it is now and you just talk about the influence of the run game, the defense really making an emphasis on putting a roof over the coverage and trying to be able to stop some of these ways that you can get over
Starting point is 00:33:43 the top vertically and then you look at the evolution of offenses and the shift of personnel and how you run it and what does it look like now. It all goes in circles but I think the best adjust and adapt like one of the biggest things I'd say you know obviously it stings to lose to Philly but I got a ton of respect for Vic Vangio. 2018 they were the best defense when he's running the Bears defense. 2022 or 2024 this past year he's running the Eagles defense. You see foundational principles that are in alignment with what he's always been.
Starting point is 00:34:11 But it was illustrated in a different manner. That to me is greatness from a coaching perspective. Adjusting and adapting. That's what we try to do. What we were in 17 to what we are going to be this year is going to be a lot different. And if you don't adjust and adapt you're going to get this year is going to be a lot different. And, and, uh, if you don't adjust and adapt, you're going to get exposed. And you alluded to that super bowl. That was a humbling night.
Starting point is 00:34:29 You go from boy wonder to boy blunder in a matter of 60 minutes. There's another bar there. I assume you've used that before boy wonder to boy blunder. It was great to see you on that big stage. And we did wonder, I think like, is he ever going to get back or is now the blueprint out on how you stop Sean McVeigh is the blueprint out and instead What do you do you get back win another Super Bowl continue to evolve continue to build? That's awesome You talked about Vic Fangio
Starting point is 00:34:51 They said his career was over whenever he was down in Miami that Philadelphia Eagles defense is gonna look different next year They have officially released Darius Slay from the Philadelphia Eagles, which will say wow four point three million dollars Against the cap. Okay, so that's the first cut here as we're in the Salary Cap Gymnastics season here. This happened while we were talking to Sean. Not going to put Sean on the spot here to make a decision on whether or not Darius Slay would be a good member of the Rams or your thoughts of him as a player. But that just happened. Feel like people should know. Let's move along. Connor, there's a question for you, Coach.
Starting point is 00:35:22 Yeah, Coach. I'm a Patriots fan. So thank you for laying that egg I was at that game. It was awesome. It was a great win But when it comes to you know working with less need how does that relationship go, you know, I mean it's a bad example But when a player does get released or someone's available for trade Is that something where you know, you'll text him and let him know and then when it comes to the draft you went from you know kind of fuck them picks with less need to now it seems like every year you guys are getting an all pro verse puka it kind of the list goes on but how's that relationship working then who picks the really cool house that you guys go to for the draft because every year that
Starting point is 00:36:01 thing is awesome yeah no it's definitely cool. I would say that's Kevin Demoff and Tony Pastore deciding on where we end up spending those drafts. But it's been great. I think the best thing I can say about it, Connor, is you just look at the adaptability. And we've always seen the game through the same lens. I remember when I was interviewing for the job,
Starting point is 00:36:21 we had an immediate rapport. He works at it. He's not afraid to talk about his evaluations. He's not afraid to acknowledge his mistakes to own in terms of what does it look like to build a team, not just collect talent. And I think you've seen that over the years, evolve and adapt.
Starting point is 00:36:36 We were kind of forced to do that like I was talking about earlier after the 21 season, but it's been great. He's a stud. I really appreciate the way he works at it. And I think we both have such a strong relationship that there's comfort in some of those conflict conversations, but we always come to a compromise. And then whenever we make decisions, it's us collectively moving forward.
Starting point is 00:36:57 And I'm grateful for him. There's nobody else I'd rather be leading alongside. What'd you say? Nine years together? Yeah, this is year nine. That's awesome. I'm crazy the Rams draft house Isn't that the one of the thing you guys are hanging out? I think we're gonna do something cool with the fire department this year, which will even be cooler You know just based on everything that's going on
Starting point is 00:37:16 So I don't know if I let the cat out of the bag, but hey screw it. Hey I appreciate that you guys are doing it It feels like everybody from LA is stepping up for the community, which is a beautiful thing to watch. Let's talk about that. As that's all taking place, it's happening like tail end of the season there. What is the mindset of how do you reach out to the families that are affected? Like how has the Rams kind of handled all the fires and the devastation? I mean, just absolutely devastation. You don't even feel like it's real life, Pat. And in a lot of instances where it started was far enough in proximity that it didn't really affect too many people.
Starting point is 00:37:50 But then once they start trickling over and I can remember we're having basically our Wednesday practice leading into the Vikings playoff game and you see this smoke in the distance and this is an area where a lot of players and coaches live and you're thinking, wow, now this feels really real and it felt real. But when it's physically in proximity and now people are having to evacuate their homes, man, that's just way bigger than football. And I can't say enough about really our organization with the Cronkies. You know, so many people deserve a ton of credit for being able to say, all right, hey, let's gather everybody. Let's make sure that we're able to get to Arizona. You know, Tyler Higby had a great line when we were boarding that flight and
Starting point is 00:38:26 people are bringing, you know, all their family, you know, some animals were on there was like boarding Noah's Ark, going to Arizona. But it was, it was an incredible display of the team coming together and really what I wanted to see from our group, I wasn't worried about necessarily winning and losing, but let's represent, you know, let's be a group in terms of how we compete, how we represent this city for what it looks like, for what's great about sports. And our guys did that really each of the next two weeks. And even though we came up short of Philly, I'm damn proud to be associated with that group. And that was some real stuff that's way bigger than football.
Starting point is 00:38:59 Yeah, beautifully stated. And thank you for sharing all that behind the scenes with us from watching along because obviously captivated and by captivated, I don't mean that in a positive way, captivated all of us about the devastation that's happening and how quickly everything can kind of take place, and now life happens as well. So you got to keep rolling ahead. You're 39, but the way you speak is that of like a 65 year old, so profound.
Starting point is 00:39:19 And the way you talk is great, which is why everybody, ourselves included, think that you're going to go to TV. You know, and you look at Madden, what Madden was able to accomplish in such a quick career as a young guy with the Raiders and then transitioning to TV, transcending society basically into a football place, his name is gonna ring synonymous alongside the NFL forever
Starting point is 00:39:38 because of his work in the booth, and then obviously as a coach, how much do you hear the noise and whenever you get on TV or get in one of these interviews immediately afterwards you go guys fucking killed that keep it rolling like what is your what is your mindset towards it all cuz you would be great not again brother you'd be great game on a microphone I appreciate that that means a lot you know cuz I'm fans of you guys I was kidding you know I wasn't really kidding you know I'm glad to come on here and finally start this up. Hopefully we can make this a little bit more normal
Starting point is 00:40:06 now. Amen. Amen. I love coaching. You know, the one thing I will say is, is what I don't take for granted, even when we were talking about having our children, you know, the influence and the impact that you can make where you're really being transformational instead of just transactional. And that's what I love about coaching. Is there interest in that stuff? Of course, but I think we got some more stuff that we want to accomplish. I love the group that I'm doing it with and if that is an opportunity down the line that represents itself or presents itself then I'll be you know I'll be
Starting point is 00:40:36 humbled by it but I'm pretty damn happy doing what I'm doing and love what I'm doing. Yeah that's pretty evident. I mean I think there were rumors of like 25-30 mil from Amazon for one game a week on Thursday night. That was alleged. That was alleged, obviously. Yeah, if it was that kind of number, then maybe we have to second guess that. But hey, call me back, Amazon, if that's where we were at.
Starting point is 00:41:03 I'll publicly negotiate for you anytime, but I think that number is only going up and up with the way football is. And you talk about, you know, you've been able to do some good things. You want to continue to build on that. We have a graphic of everything you've accomplished. Dude, to say you've done great, remarkable is the word. We have a Rams fan who happens to be the graphic designer who pieced this together dirty in the back.
Starting point is 00:41:22 And he's like, that's cool. After piecing it together, it's like a lot more respect needs to be given to what has happened in such a quick time especially in the NFC West you know that's not a easy division at all congrats on everything thus far coach appreciate you guys finally having me on no we're not done yet we're not done yet okay unless you want to leave all right you know hey I'm ready to roll that's why we love you yeah that's why you know that's why everybody
Starting point is 00:41:49 loves me now we just wanted to point out all your accolades there and show it to you so you know hey a lot has been done here if a microphone does present itself you know maybe we go ahead Hall of Fame in both of them but with the team that you have there are some decisions that have to be made every single year that aren't easy I would assumeone has a question for you. Yeah, Coach, nothing's final yet, but a guy that you did all those things with, Cooper Kupp, I know is potentially going to be traded.
Starting point is 00:42:13 He's been with you for all of those years. How hard was that decision, and how do you feel about Cooper Kupp just as a human in general? Yeah, I think the first thing you acknowledge is the impact this guy's had on my life. Most importantly, as a human, I'm a better person for having been around Cooper Cup. Obviously his production, he's such a baller.
Starting point is 00:42:32 He did so many great things for us over the course of his career and we've been through a lot together. And I think one of the things I've always appreciated about Cooper, he was one of those few people that he always, I know he loved me enough to be able to tell me what I needed to hear, not what I wanted to hear, and really challenged me. And I'm better for having been around him. His legacy is cemented as a ram.
Starting point is 00:42:52 It was arguably as hard a decision as we've had to come to since I've been the head coach here. And so you don't take it lightly. He was such a stud in terms of the dialogue and being able to have some of those real conversations. And he's gonna do a great job wherever his next stop is. But man, those things are very real, very challenging, but you always talk about, oh, you separate the personal and the business. Now it's all intermixed and you love them enough to be able to tell
Starting point is 00:43:17 them why, but you always preface it with, hey, I could be wrong here. I've been wrong before and all we're trying to do is make the decisions that we think are in the best interest of the collective. But this guy is such a stud and I love him and appreciate him more than words can express. He was a great wide receiver for you guys. He won the Triple Crown and also the Yak, I believe. So it's the top four stats at one historic year and historic run. The 9 to 9 podcast, obviously he and Stafford grew very close. Hell of a run as a Ram. Excited to see where he goes next. Some team will
Starting point is 00:43:48 be very lucky for him and before we let you go, what is right now? What does today look like? Are we watching film from the combine or are we watching film from other? What is the next like two weeks? So really we're in the midst of trying to get a couple of our own guys signed you know because next week represents the you know the legal tampering period or whatever the hell they call it next Monday but with our guys we can get them done and so we got a couple guys that we want to try to be able to get signed we're studying draft guys and then we're gonna start to dive into scheme you know we've got all of our coaches here it was a light turnover
Starting point is 00:44:16 year we got six new coaches so that was a light turnover it's crazy I mean you know it's wild you know this is the first year that since our very first season that we've made the playoffs that we didn't lose somebody directly from our staff that got a head job. Every other year we've made the playoffs other than our first year in this past year, we've lost somebody directly from our staff. You know, Liam gets one from Tampa, but you're talking about directly from our staff with Zach Taylor, Brandon Staley, Kevin O'Connell, Raheem Morris. Four years, you know, that we made the playoffs
Starting point is 00:44:48 in between those first and last ones, pretty wild. Yeah, and we talk about what happened in Philadelphia. They've lost offense coordinator, defense coordinator, having to turn that over, trying to reimplement a culture, reimplement everything with a new voice in charge. Not easy. You've been able to handle it pretty well. You guys also lost somebody in the front office. Are you worried worried about Gladstone little baby face coming in and just sniping all of your guys stud man don't sleep on Gladstone he is i'll tell you what this guy's a smart sharp
Starting point is 00:45:15 articulate dude love the way he sees the game he's got a great delivery you know he's i'm so much faster in my he's got this nice patient calm delivery. I said, man, I just want to listen to you talk. He's a great teacher. I'm fired up for James Gladstone. Congratulations to James. Go help Liam get this thing right in Jacksonville. He looks like he's 12 though. Yeah, that's the thing.
Starting point is 00:45:37 He looks like he's like a gamer. He looks like he's a 12 year old. But hey, listen, you had the same thing whenever you became the head coach of the Rams looking like a young lad. You hey, listen, you had the same thing whenever you became the head coach of the Rams looking like a young lad. You'll love this Pat. When I was, when I was the OC for Washington, when Jay Gruden was the head coach, I get hired as a 27 year old, the OC for three years. I decided to shave my beard one day and he's like, bro, you can't do that. You look like you're 10 years old. Nobody will take you serious. You got to grow that shit back in media. Gladstone might want to paint one on like he's Hulkster or whatever the case. That's right.
Starting point is 00:46:10 We're excited to see it all work out. We appreciate you joining us, man. Hopefully this is the first of many. Yeah. Hey, would love that. Appreciate you guys having me on. Big fan. Ladies and gentlemen, head coach of Los Angeles Rams.
Starting point is 00:46:19 That was really cool. Sean McVay. Oh, coach. What do you mean? That was the program. Weapon, yeah. Electric. That is electric. Those highlights too. Sean McVay He knows the program weapon yeah That is a lecture those highlights too and we would be okay if we were the ones getting credit with dogs Yeah, you know we'd nowhere near created it been around a very very long time
Starting point is 00:46:37 But as a person that got a front-row seat to watch a lot of football as a kicker and as a punter both in college And the NFL teams a lot better when you got a bunch of dogs verse whenever you don't have a lot of football as a kicker and as a punter, both in college and the NFL. Teams a lot better when you got a bunch of dogs versus whenever you don't have a lot of dogs. That's just my simple view of football breakdown and him being like, hey, same brother, I feel the exact same way, need dogs. How do you find out if a guy's a dog or not at the combine? Legitimately, that is like the most-
Starting point is 00:47:00 You can't at the combine. I mean- I think that's the most important piece of information, legit. Yeah, you can talk to them in the background like but for me It's like the players that play with them part that are already on your team or in the NFL Coaches that have coached them and then turn like you said the most important part of the process is the film you turn on the Film you can tell the guys that want to compete at die
Starting point is 00:47:18 And once you get to the combine forgot and throw it on run or doesn't do drills That doesn't tell me anything about who they are as a competitor you turn on that film you Ask the people around them and you'll get your answer pretty I feel like a lot of it has to do with where you like come Out of like it used to be Bama But now like you know like the Eagles and Howie He trusts taking Georgia guys cuz he knows if they are starters and if they are good enough to To play and to get to the comment into the draft They're like oh that this guy has to be a dog just coming out of that program with Kirby
Starting point is 00:47:44 So I feel like definitely the pedigree and like where you, they're like, oh, this guy has to be a dog just coming out of that program with Kirby. So I feel like definitely the pedigree and where you come from, stuff like that, you know? Yeah, I agree. How you're taught, you know, that's like Bill Belichick's big selling point down there in the bar. It's like, hey, whenever you get a UNC guy, you're going to get a pro.
Starting point is 00:47:55 You're going to get a guy that's ready to work. We're going to kind of do the sifting out of personality for you. I think that's a good thing to have as a university. Now, will they have enough patience to get to that point? You know, it takes a little bit Especially in this new world with the transfer portal and NIL and the ability to bounce if you're not happy after around a week You just kind of do your thing. Will UNC be able to build it quick enough?
Starting point is 00:48:16 I hope so obviously because we love Lambeau and also You know, you know what's happening, You know more than anybody, you've gone guy. You talk about a hard edge. We want to do, are we sure? So it's trusting the climb right now? We're not trusting, no, we're not. We're doing hill climbers, brother. We're not just trusting the climb.
Starting point is 00:48:37 We're doing the damn climb. Okay, it's a little bit different. Thank you, Neil Brown for your service to West Virginia. You're an absolute kind man. With that being said, yeah, we're getting dogs back in Morgantown. Okay. And maybe there were a few that were there
Starting point is 00:48:50 throughout the years. Obviously, Neil was able to produce some NFLers and Zach Fraser, obviously the most notable up there in Pittsburgh. I have nothing but respect for the guys that came out of West Virginia through the Neil Brown era. It's just gonna be a little bit different going forward. You know, we're gonna be looking for a little different
Starting point is 00:49:03 attitude, a little different mindset, little different workouts, little different practices a little bit different going forward. You know, we're going to be looking for a little different attitude, a little different mindset, a little different workouts, a little different practices, a little bit different everything, you know, that's happening out there. From what I've been told, it might take a little bit of time. It might take a little bit. Might need a, might need a, you know, up there. About three, usually year three. That's what's happening with Matt Ruhl. He's thinking up there in Nebraska, it's happened in the past.
Starting point is 00:49:23 It's not easy to build a culture or reset a culture, but when you do it, you got gold. And when you have it, hold onto it forever. Do not let it out of there. That is why him being 39 years old, if he wanted to run the McVeigh culture at the Rams for the next 30 years, he could. What a place for the Cronkies to be in
Starting point is 00:49:39 as the ownership of that team. And obviously 25, 30 million seems to be the number if you're a TV company for Sean McVay. Let's move away from the NFL, shall we? We already talked about Elimination Chamber, which was electrifying. Shout out to John Cena, you know, making the decision of his life.
Starting point is 00:49:53 Come on, John. Beside time with our team with the final boss in Travis Scott and kick Cody Rhodes right in the balls, heading into WrestleMania. After winning the Elimination Chamber, now you'll be representing the final boss and the boys. I'm excited to hear what their name is. Legit.
Starting point is 00:50:07 Oh my God, I know. There's a couple names that are just sitting right there that are easily usable, but we'll see what they do. Let's pivot away from those things. Let's go to the NBA. The NBA is happening. It is. NBA is happening in a big way, by the way,
Starting point is 00:50:20 because a massive trade sent a superstar to LA, and that's kind of changed the setting for everywhere in the Association. Con man what the hell's going on in the sport? Yeah the Lakers are unbelievable now looking at it earlier today January 13th okay rewind a little bit the Lakers are the 7th seed they are now the 2 seed they are unbelievable. Luca last night I believe he had 29, 9, and 6 everyone knows he has a little rivalry with the Clippers. I believe starting kind of during that little COVID bubble.
Starting point is 00:50:50 So the Lakers are unbelievable. Now LeBron actually, that was his 1000th win. He has the fourth most wins of all time when it comes to the NBA. I believe he is 75 away from the record, pretty incredible. They play the Pelicans on Tuesday. Zion and his sweet Naruto tattoo. That should be cool. But yes, they are the second seed.
Starting point is 00:51:14 What's that? What do you mean? You don't understand Naruto, dog. That's the problem. You run like this. Yeah, you run it fast. He got faster because of it. Remember they were in the storm area 51. That's right. They were all gonna run like this because of, you're running fast. He got faster because of it. Remember they were on the storm area 51.
Starting point is 00:51:25 That's right. They were all going to run like this because of the, what's that called? The, Airflow. Windstream. Windstream, the aerodynamics of it all with the windstream. Yeah, so that's just right there.
Starting point is 00:51:35 That's all me. I just thought it was pretty bad. Yeah, because he's, I'm not going to say it. Yeah, he got- His stomach is actually doing this right now. Yeah, more powerful. He's in more shape. Boom.
Starting point is 00:51:44 That's how Bill walks around the office. Whatever it's all about. Bill is sending that tweet into the group knowing that I had not seen any of the workouts. Dude, how cool is this? I might get one too. Maybe Bill should. Maybe he'll become an absolute hooper, an absolute dough.
Starting point is 00:51:58 Like Zion is whenever he plays. Let's not get it twisted. That is why we are such big fans of his, because it's like he hears all the criticism He does not care and then he shows up triple double. No big deal. Are they gonna let me on the court tonight? I don't know that's on the Pelicans. But if they do I'm gonna go bananas and in the postgame presser I'm a laugh. I'm gonna have to time my life And if you get me in Dallas keep an eye out because I'm be rolling. Yeah, nonetheless
Starting point is 00:52:20 Shout out to the NBA and in the Lakers seemingly go ahead and climb the chart Yeah, this is the first time they have been ranked, you know, two or higher in four years. So talk about relevance. Luca really has kind of come in, figured it out. Probably never going to talk about the Pelicans again, because they are damn near the worst team in the league. Yeah, they're right. Them and Ryan Smith's boys, but that's the Western Conference going to the East. Tyrese Halburn, you know, look around boys. We have witness historyrese Halburn you know look around boys we have witnessed history Halburn is the first player ever to have 500 assists in a season without having 100 turnovers he has 69 assists and six turnovers since the all-star break he did not make the all-star he
Starting point is 00:52:58 did not make the all-star yeah he's got the chill got the reset he's come back on the other side the Pacers have on fire Yeah, they're rolling there the five seed right now kind of holding off the Detroit Pistons who also Have been playing very good basketball for the first time this millennium, but it no it is great The Pacers are playing very well Hal Bern's playing very well obviously they didn't start the entire season Great, but they have kind of turned it on here This is the most important time, you know, we talked about November football December football That's where we are right now when it comes the NBA March is kind of the time where if you're not playing
Starting point is 00:53:35 Your best ball that is very bad news playoff start towards the end of April basically right after WrestleMania so fantastic news for the Pacers Hal Burton got range brother Yeah, he's doing logo shots right? Yeah. He started this game here for four from three I believe this was the 33 and 11 game he had right before he came on the program last week So they are rolling they are playing the Rockets on Tuesday But when you're talking about the Eastern Conference, obviously you got to talk about the chance of Boston Celtics, okay? They just lose to the Cavs in the game. They lost to the Cavs in Boston. It was a bummer, but Jason Tatum had 46 points. Another fantastic show and Jaylen Brown, he had 36 points. They were up
Starting point is 00:54:16 23 to 2 and then they play with their food. You know that that's kind of what happens with the Celtics sometimes. Probably the best possible thing for the Celtics was to lose to the Cavaliers on Friday after showing like... Cavs fans are saying, of course, this is how we cover this game. We're number one in the Eastern Conference and the way ESPN is covering the game is, yeah, it was good for the Celtics to lose the way they did up 23-2. I saw that. I saw a lot of this. I saw a lot of getting the half. Yeah, exactly. A lot of that. And that was... Missoula's got a lot to pull from is what you're saying. Bingo. And there's a lot of motivation, but the Cavs are fantastic Donovan Mitchell had 41 points But today, you know, we have to do it. Happy birthday Jason Tate 27 he is the third player ever with 13,000 points
Starting point is 00:55:01 4,000 rebounds before turning 27 that's Will Chamberlain and LeBron James. You know, if it wasn't for, you know, God and the universe every time he does something, you know, for instance, going up 25 to 2 and saying, you know, get the hell out of here, it does feel as though anytime he tries to do something like that, the universe and God says, you know what, you lose. Anytime you try to get a little moxie. Stop doing this corny, zany stuff, okay? Every time you do it, I'm going to punish you. And that's what has happened, but they are sitting at the 2C pretty comfortably.
Starting point is 00:55:30 But yeah, the Cavaliers, they are unbelievable. It is a great story. Gotta prove it in the playoffs. You know, it's basically what the story was for the Celtics last year. Hey, you gotta win a championship before we talk about you. Like you're great, but the Cavs are fantastic as well. All right, NBA, I saw some people doing some interviews too. Yeah. Oh yeah? Talking, chatting. Chatting, letting us learn a little bit more. I think maybe they got guarded as everybody started killing them. Sure. You know I thought about this
Starting point is 00:55:55 over the weekend as I was traveling back from Toronto to Detroit, shot to Detroit to do customs. Hell yeah. Reload, go Toronto hour traffic just sitting dead. Oh yeah. I mean not even moving. So it was great to be there. People drive. It was great to be there. But I was thinking about it. It's like, I feel like the NBA players,
Starting point is 00:56:12 because of how much money they make, okay, which is a matter of fact, when everybody just starts killing them, they probably get a little garden to say, fuck everybody. I think what needs to happen is we need to learn more about you guys. That's what I think in the NBA. I think we need to learn more about, you guys need to what I think, any NBA. I think we need to learn more about,
Starting point is 00:56:25 you guys need to be talking more. Because we know Tyrese, we love him. The more we learn about Tyrese, we love, and he talks about the other guys like, yeah, we got a good group, we got a good group. We never hear it. We never hear it until you retire. Like Teague, imagine him telling those stories
Starting point is 00:56:37 when he's in the league. I mean, people would absolutely love it. He's fantastic. So come on, NBA, come on. NHL happened this weekend, 90 some thousand people. It was awesome. In the horseshoe watching wings and blue jackets. Blue jackets get a massive win, I do believe.
Starting point is 00:56:52 Yes, they did. Peter the dog was there. I mean, sports are on fire. Sports. Are happening all around us. We're lucky to talk about it. We can't thank you enough for joining us here on this glorious Monday afternoon. Tonight's Monday Night Raw will be live from Buffalo, New York, live on Netflix
Starting point is 00:57:13 with the fallout of Elimination Chamber and everything else as we continue the road to WrestleMania. Can't wait to get up there. Obviously talking sports today, not alone, but with a great group. The Talk Stables here at Boss O'Connor and at Ty Schmidt. Hey, go Hawks, bud. Go Hawks, baby. Hey, a couple of Hawks, you know, having a great group. The talk stable is here at Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt. Hey go Hawks bud. Go Hawks baby. Hey a couple of Hawks you know had a great weekend at the combine so you know that's what we're that's what we're trying to do is just you know continually put more guys in the league because you know I know that once they get in the league they're gonna perform. And I believe Kaitlyn and the Fever are playing like Brazil or something
Starting point is 00:57:40 over there. Did you hear about this? No I didn't. Okay Ty this is happening in your literally in your arena. I think it sold out in like 40 minutes. Oh yeah, yeah. One of the Fevers preseason games is gonna be played, yeah, at Carver in Iowa City. Oh yeah. I didn't know they were playing Brazil. I think it's Brazil. Brazil national team or something like that. From what I looked into, I'm not 100% sure, but I think that was the meme that I saw. Sold out in like 40 minutes or whatever the case is. That's good business. Kaitlin just brings the money train to different cities. And I was a good sports place. Oh yeah. It is.
Starting point is 00:58:11 You know, it's out there in the middle of nowhere. Yeah. A lot of corn. Mm-hmm. But they got so much tradition and history in football. Is the football team gonna be good? Yeah, I think so. Yep, Tony knows.
Starting point is 00:58:21 That's one half of the hammer. Done. Cowboys, AP. Tony, you're saying yes, how How come they finally have a quarterback. They got the quarterback from South Dakota state. I believe if I'm not, yeah, South Dakota state, Mark, Grinowski finally have a quarterback. They're losing a little bit to the, yeah. He was the FCS Heisman.
Starting point is 00:58:40 Hey, a lot of these guys, they get, uh, this is what the NIO and transfer portal is really done big go especially for quarterbacks He's at South Dakota State go big go blue go Jack leaves. Yeah, or is it what which we decide get that? No, yeah, I've got to say the blue team. He was not he was not So he was go big go blue go Jack Yeah, getting an opportunity now to go to a larger conference more spotlight more game This is a good thing from the transporter NIO, not the South Dakota State doesn't deserve
Starting point is 00:59:07 to have great players. I'm just saying this is gonna become the thing in it. And hopefully Iowa does have an offensive plays football as opposed to rugby. That would be cool for all parties. Now let's transfer away from college ball, which was awesome and was electrifying this past season back to the NFL, nine-year NFL vet.
Starting point is 00:59:22 He was a corner, he was a safety, he was a nickel, one point, he's the host of everything DB ladies and gentlemen Darrius J. Butler's here. D-Buch in the first hour we had our first Massacre Week victim Darrius Slay has been cut by the Philadelphia Eagles he was on with the Amon Raugh St. Brown brothers okay the St. Brown's podcast I believe is the name of it good podcast by the way. It is great it. Good podcast, by the way. It is. Good conversations, doesn't feel forced love
Starting point is 00:59:48 that the brothers do. Great family, too. I've learned a lot about them from Amon Ross' Primetime Games dad, professional bodybuilder, I do believe. This is what Darius Slay had to say to the St. Brown brothers. This is your last year with the Eagles.
Starting point is 01:00:03 How many more years you got left in your deal? I got one more left. But you know what I'm saying? You know how that work is your your last year with Eagles. How many more years you got left in your deal? I got one more left but you know what I'm saying? You know how that work. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, what if they want to do? You know, I might resign back hopefully, you know,
Starting point is 01:00:14 if I ain't, they will see what we're doing because I do want to play one more year for sure though. One more year. Okay. Yeah. One more year. You like you like Detroit, you said, huh? Oh, I love Detroit. I got nothing but love. That's my
Starting point is 01:00:23 second home. You know what I'm saying? That's my second home. You know what I mean? That's my second home. I got, I do a lot for the city still until this day. Uh lot of guys that's from Detroit that's in the league was all kind of like hang with
Starting point is 01:00:35 me when it was a little high school kid. That's what's the crazy part. Couple of my teammates, my team, Maddox, he trained with me when he was a high school, uh South Garner, uh boy, your boy, you're boy, you don't like Jordan Lewis.
Starting point is 01:00:53 He was with me. Okay. Yeah. So, a lot of the guys man that that was in Detroit with I was coming up. Uh I just had like little agents meet me at this uh this field. A lot of guys show up and a lot of them guys are done and it's that's crazy.
Starting point is 01:01:06 So, I got a lot of love. Then I went to all the high school games, all the high school basketball games, you know, I seen, I seen, what's the little kid named? Uh that said Cleveland. That boy can hoop hoop. But I don't know how he not playing. Playing the money. Oh yeah. I was
Starting point is 01:01:18 watching him in high school go crazy. Like I was going to go about, man, I ain't never seen them kids sell out of the gym like Ikela Brown, boy. I swear to God, the whole, the whole college stadium, they'd be sold out. Yeah. He was nice though. So I did a lot for the city.
Starting point is 01:01:33 So that's why I got a lot. Okay. So it sounds like a shout to the St. Brown podcast. We're getting that. Sounds like Darius Slate has a lot of love for Detroit. Now, obviously Amon Ra is one of the staples and pillars of the Lions. Darius Slate started his career with the Lions, got kicked out of town for
Starting point is 01:01:47 a bag of balls, right? 100%. Matt Patricia, friend of the program, said get this guy the hell out of here. He goes to Philly, obviously has the success that he has. D. Butch, when it comes to Darius Slay, how did he play this year? Obviously he's Super Bowl champion. And would Detroit be a good fit for him? Obviously with Kelvin Shepherd now, new DC.
Starting point is 01:02:04 Yeah, when Slay was healthy, he was playing very, very good football. He's had, he's put together a great career, probably a Hall of Fame career. A lot of people's opinions. I had that big interception, I believe, against the Packers late in the season of playoffs, but he, and the things that he was saying about being a Detroit, like I remember I've been following him for a while. I remember he was pull up to different high school games and that's dope to kind of see your legacy still there
Starting point is 01:02:25 So that would be a great place for him to go back and finish finish his story But out of Detroit Lions they invested a lot of a lot of resources into DB's the last couple years of Carlton Davis Robertson bring him over from the Raiders Drafted Terry on Arnold in the first round last year, so I'm not sure how it would fit exactly on that team But he would fit in any scheme. He's a smart guy. He can play, he can still run, he can still make plays on the ball, and he's great in the locker room, too. Great in the locker room. It would be great, you know, winners, you always want winners in your locker room to kind of build that culture in those meaty rooms for young DBs. So I'm excited to see wherever Slay finishes his career.
Starting point is 01:03:00 Ran into Kelvin Shepherd last week at the Combine. Great to see him. Feels like he's right at home at DC you know he is very confident very comfortable very happy too. MCDC head coach of the Lions bobblehead right there in front of you actually he gave a speech about or one an answer at the press conference about Kelvin Shepherd two years ago started giving them more and more and more to do because they thought he was on the trajectory to become a Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn gets a head coaching job at the Jets Kelvin Shepard steps right in how should that transition go for him? You think and what should we expect from Kelvin Shepard in that D up there in Detroit? It should be pretty smooth because it's obviously a different voice and this is kind of I think what the Ravens have done for a long
Starting point is 01:03:41 Time they promote within a lot. So it's easier to kind of keep that culture. You know what the standard is when you walk into that room. You know how they're going to be judged and graded pursuing, you know, not no, no, no lacking off when it comes to running and chasing the ball, attacking the ball, getting turnovers. They just got to create more pass rush. But I think going from Aaron Glenn to Kelvin Shepard, who's been on his staff for a while now,
Starting point is 01:04:01 I think it'll be a pretty smooth transition, especially with Big Hutch coming back up front. So you guys aren't dead. I guess the Lions aren't dead. No we're not dead and if we learn anything from this last season when it comes to Darrius Slay you cannot have enough depth on the defensive side of the ball so I would love to have him back in Detroit. A lot of injuries obviously happened to that Detroit Lions defense and they continue to win.
Starting point is 01:04:23 Let's say in the NFC North the all all time leading tackler for the Green Bay Packers is back off a cruise ship. Ladies and gentlemen, Super Bowl champion, college football national champion, father of 10, AJ Hogg. Yeah! Hey! AJ, good to see you. You're glowing fresh off a Caribbean cruise.
Starting point is 01:04:39 Fresh off a Caribbean cruise. Good to see you. Yeah, I got back last night from the Buckeye cruise, but yeah, it feels like forever since I've been here with you guys. Missed you, missed you guys and uh it was fun watching you from the combine. That first off the set looked amazing like everything about it was really cool and thanks. Sholtsie and Rapidport really took over the high seas man. International waters that's all they could talk about. Yeah I mean anytime you get into a battle in starbeam people are gonna want to talk about it. Yeah. Especially on what we
Starting point is 01:05:03 assumed to be a drunk eye bucke eye cruise. Is that what it was? Or how was the vibes this year on the cruise? And how much money was raised for, for? For cancer, for cancer research and everything about it. But yeah, it's, the cruise still is going until Wednesday. I got off, my brother came with me, we jumped off in Jamaica and flew home yesterday, but they will be going until Wednesday. Wednesday so we'll see I'm sure it's already in the millions but it will be a ton of money. Rude Boy took the bombocot plan as soon as he could get back to Ohio we appreciate you joining us a lot has happened around the NFL a lot of drama Darius Slay now a free agent what are your thoughts
Starting point is 01:05:38 quickly here about him potentially joining any team now? I mean I think Detroit why not the guy wants to be there and listen to him talk about that. Yeah, he's, Darius Slay is one of those, like the OGDBs that bring up the young guys that help everybody that teach them all the little things. I got to see guys like Al Harris, Charles Woodson, those kind of guys kind of pass their knowledge down to the younger dudes. And I think that is invaluable, especially at the corner and safety position. We'll see what other teams are offering.
Starting point is 01:06:06 You know, it always comes down to offers and potential and opportunity, but the Lions are in the Superbowl hunt. So you go with the Eagles, get a Superbowl, maybe go back to the Lions. That'd be a great way to wrap up a career, but good luck out there, Slammaker. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:21 Let's stay in the NFC North kind of. Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now is an NFL offensive player of the year, an All and by all accounts best wide receiver in the NFL at LSU Minnesota Viking Justin Jefferson How you doing man, I'm doing great man, can't complain how you doing? I'm fantastic. Thank you for joining us We're very, very appreciative. And also thank you for doing what you're doing. We're just now learning of this flight school,
Starting point is 01:06:49 which is going to be an invite only high school wide receiver camp that you were putting together. How did this come to be and how pumped are you to give back to the younger generation? Big time, man. I'm so pumped, man. I'm so excited. Cause when I was in high school,
Starting point is 01:07:04 we didn't have things like this You know, we didn't have guys, you know put in put in on these different camps putting on these different workout Situations to help you know, these high schoolers grow and to you know, really perform once they get into college And I just want to help out, you know, I always want to help out the community I always want to help out the younger guys I always want to help out the younger guys transition to college, transition to the NFL. So having some guys out, elite guys, come and work out with me to learn, to really experience just working out with me and being around me.
Starting point is 01:07:37 So it's definitely a great situation that's going on. So if you a baller, you're an elite athlete, it's time to work. I love that. Prime used to say, if you ball, you get the call. Not a bad idea. When will this be? When will this be, Justin? This is going to be in June. June 6th through the 9th. So in Bradenton at IMG Academy, it's going to be a fun time. I can't wait. I can't wait. We're pumped for it as well. Can't wait to see the clips that come out of there.
Starting point is 01:08:05 We assume there is going to be some incredible play somebody's going to get. I mean, there's going to be a, which leads me to this, Justin. So I think maybe your class, maybe the one before, I'm not a hundred percent sure, but in LSU is certainly a massive piece of this, but there was these young wide receivers that were just coming in and dominating you, obviously the topic of conversation whenever that happens But you weren't the only one there was a lot of guys Do you think it's because of the seven on sevens because of the one-on-one culture?
Starting point is 01:08:30 That we kind of have now through high school and through younger ages is why or why do you think you were able to do? Well young and why do you think wide receivers have been able to continue to step up? Yeah, that's a great question You know it time has changed so much The game has involved in so many different ways. You know, flag football wasn't a big thing when I was growing up. You know, I never really played flag football like that. We didn't really play 7 on 7 like they play now. So the game is definitely involving and just, you know, having different ways to really learn the game of football and just being more skillful, just not putting on those helmet and shoulder pads, getting physical.
Starting point is 01:09:12 They're working on their skill set and working on just being true ballers and having fun doing it. So I wish I had that growing up. Maybe things would have been a little different, but I feel like putting on that shoulder pads and helmet at seven years old got me to where I'm at right now. It's all worked out. It's all worked out. And your toughness is something that doesn't get chatted about. You get the ball a lot, and it's not always the easiest catches. You go and get it as a superstar, and you're also an asshole. What was the kick me sign? You put the kick me sign on my back. I was just trying to be a principal trying to get flag football, you know, legislated across the country and there you are smacking my back. You were fantastic out there.
Starting point is 01:09:52 That was a fun. Hey, man. No, you was, you was fantastic. Hey, I told, I told you, I told you and I told everybody else to ask me about it. You need to pursue an acting career, man, because the makeup, the everything was the acting career, man. Because, hey, the makeup, the, hey, everything was just top tier, man. Hey, I think you should, I wanna see you on a movie screen one day, man.
Starting point is 01:10:13 I wanna see that. Yeah, you were hyping me up the whole time and I appreciate that. That's Peter Berg in the middle, obviously. One of the most famous directors on Earth. And what a time we had that morning in Chula Vista. I was lucky to be a part of it, thankful to be a part of it. But the initiative to your point about girls flag football
Starting point is 01:10:30 and trying to make it like a sport that is sanctioned by all the states. I know in Pennsylvania they have, so like our high school of Plum, who is very good at girls soccer, very good at girls lacrosse. It's like probably a good chance that we're gonna have a good girls flag football team continue to grow the game I think it's a great sport
Starting point is 01:10:47 Justin legit I think it's a great sport I think it is too man and uh you know just talking with you know some of the girls that were at the Pro Bowl you know just seeing them how excited they were of being involved in the sport and just being happy to be you know at the Pro Bowl and being around these top tier players. So it's definitely just like I said, evolving for sure. But it's crazy to see, you know, women into this sport and women excited to be involved in it and just to see it, you know, going to different countries and us, you know, just expanding the game worldwide is so great to see, honestly.
Starting point is 01:11:27 Yeah. I think it's beautiful for the sport. That's why when I was asked to be a part of it, obviously incredibly honored, but then I heard what it was about. It's like, I got a daughter. I think she looking at the way mom's built the way I'm built. I don't know if she's going to be a WNBA player. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:11:41 I don't know if that's going to be the case, but I could see her, you know, like those high school girls at the pro Bowl, there was some sauce on that. I mean, there was some real shit happened. Even the plays that they were running was crazy. Yeah, like the double plays. I told them, I told them, who might have to take some of the plays. No shit. All right, AJ has a question for you, JJ. Yeah, Justin, obviously what you're doing with those high school kids right, AJ, answer the question for you, JJ. Yeah, Justin, obviously what you're doing with those high school kids is going to be,
Starting point is 01:12:08 it's so valuable for them. Is there something that you may have been, you've done when you were 15, 16, 17 that you thought, hey, this is what I'm supposed to do. This will get me to the NFL that maybe wasn't the right path. Or is there something that you see people maybe getting bad habits that you can teach these kids and try to get them on the right path early that maybe you didn't have back then? Yeah. Maybe getting bad habits that you can teach these kids and try to get them on the right path early that maybe you didn't have back then Yeah, um, I would really just say I mean everybody doesn't really have that support system
Starting point is 01:12:31 Like I had growing up, you know with you know, two loving parents Two, you know older brothers that that helped me throughout my whole entire Uh, you know situation to get where i'm at today. You know a lot of kids especially nowadays don't have that type of support system especially with the NIL going on a lot of you know kids taking money more over than you know the situation and just the development and getting coached the right way. So I would just say more on not thinking about the NIL, you know, as much as they are doing right now. You know, just going into LSU and just going into meeting those new coaches and them develop me into, you know, a top tier receiver. That's something that I'm always grateful for, you
Starting point is 01:13:19 know, just meeting Jerry Sullivan and just, you know, being with those type of coaches down at LSU helped me develop to a top tier player that I am now. So just that development and just getting that right coaching is something that every player needs. Okay. So let's stay on that note. Ty has a question for you. Yeah, Justin.
Starting point is 01:13:40 So you obviously mentioned the coaching and everything, but if you look at the NFL right now, you could argue that like five of the 10 best receivers in the league are from Louisiana and a lot of them went to LSU. Is that what it is? Is it coaching or like what's in the water down there? Because it really is crazy that all of you guys who are just a couple of years apart of each other at LSU are, you know, four of the five highest paid receivers in the NFL. Yeah, it's unreal, honestly. Just seeing, growing up and seeing Odell and Jarvis coming up and being a fan of those guys and growing that friendship with them. And it was just great to see them growing up.
Starting point is 01:14:22 And then for me and Jamar to be at LSU, win the national championship, and just being a top tier players. And then for Brian and Malik to come. So it's just so much talent, so much things that's going on at LSU. Of course, playing those top tier guys every single week help us
Starting point is 01:14:43 into becoming a top tier NFL player. But just like you said, it's either something in the water, something in the gumbo. I'm not sure what it is, but we definitely some top tier players for sure. You eating gator nuggets down there? You eating gator? You eating gator down there? There's some crawfish, man. Some shrimp, man.
Starting point is 01:15:00 I'm not sure what it is, dog. What is it? Hell yeah. What you know about that? There's some crawfish, man, some shrimp, man. And I'm like, wow, if this is the, if the entire place knows this, this is maybe the greatest that any school has. So I go down there and I go to dinner and I just ask like waiter, I'm like,
Starting point is 01:15:33 hey, oh, haven't talked to this guy. And he goes, suck that tiger's dick. I'm like, okay, okay, okay, okay. So you know that. And he goes, yes, everybody will know that. I'm like, all right. So the next morning, the, okay, okay, so you know that. And he goes, yes, everybody will know that. I'm like, all right. So the next morning, the next morning, I'm walking to the set and I see like,
Starting point is 01:15:50 we have like university kids like work for game day. They get a chance to like kind of see the behind the scenes. And I'm like, hey, and they go, you. I'm like, you know that. They're like, yes. I'm like, all right. Everybody knows that. Everybody, literally there was a little kid,
Starting point is 01:16:03 there was this grandma just like sucked it. I'm like, oh my, oh my God, what if I. I hope LSU gets back, you know? Like I hope LSU's able to get back. For sure. Cause that place had all the makings to be absolutely. Think about going into that place, playing LSU, and you hear that song. In the whole place.
Starting point is 01:16:20 What are you supposed to do? Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. What are you supposed, they even banned that song. We can't even play that song anymore. Oh, I know, yeah. What do you what do you suppose? They even banned that song We can't even play that song anymore. Oh, I know. Yeah, I was told at the first commercial break I was sort of commercial for sure. Yeah, first commercial break. They're like, we'd rather you didn't do that. That's not our thing I was like sweet sweet. Okay, you got it. So next segment People brother it's it's not you deciding it- You got to get the people what they want, man.
Starting point is 01:16:45 You have to. The people are the culture. It's just a must. The people are the culture. It's a must. And that is why LSU. Hey, Brian, let's go, Brian. Kelly.
Starting point is 01:16:53 Come on. Jeff Landry will give it the go ahead. We got to get right, man. We got to get back to what we need to, man. Yeah, you're right. Governor Jeff Landry will get that done. I mean, he was in a battle. He was in a battle that whole week.
Starting point is 01:17:02 All right, what a time. Let's talk about transitioning now from LSU to the NFL, especially in this time. D-Bud has a question for you. Yeah, Justin, I gotta ask you, man. We're talking, you keep saying development. We're talking about coaching, all these different things and the process that a lot of these young players,
Starting point is 01:17:15 but specifically wide receivers are going through right now, fresh off the combine, they already put their film on tape. You got the draft coming up. You hit the ground running early as a rookie and have just taken off since then. What advice would you give the young guys going into their first NFL season? What was the biggest difference playing college football and then on the NFL level?
Starting point is 01:17:33 Yeah, that's a great question. You know, my advice would just be, you know, have the confidence, be coachable, and just learn from the older guys. And just be in a playbook. That's for one and just be in the playbook that's for one. If you know the playbook and you're a guy that knows every single position, you can be put anywhere on the field and you can make a play, you already are making a difference. You know so I would just say especially have been on that field and being a rookie, having that confidence is something that I carry myself with every single time I step foot on that field.
Starting point is 01:18:10 It helped me tremendously throughout my rookie season and it goes a long way just stepping out there and feeling like no one can cover you. Your position requires confidence, I think. I think wide receiver requires confidence. So does DB, kicker, pun punter quarterback all the you know there's there's positions that obviously but wide receiver they always say like you know that's why receiver though oh that's a wide receiver when they talk about people bitching and being negative and everything like that they always say
Starting point is 01:18:37 they get that's there why have you I don't know that's such a great hey why aren't you an asshole like I don't know how to ask that question, but like there was a year there where you guys weren't great and it wasn't a lot going well. We never heard a peep from Justin Jeffers, you know, like there's never been, and obviously there's a lot of guys that get paid a lot of money. So that's not an excuse.
Starting point is 01:18:54 Like, well, he gets paid a lot of money. Why do you have like the team mentality so much as a wide receiver one, not just wide receiver one, like maybe number one wide receiver one out there, Jake? Yeah, I mean, I just always grew up with you know my parents telling me to be humble and to be grateful for anything that I've been given and I've been given opportunity to play football at the highest level you know just just making money to help my family out, and generations down the line.
Starting point is 01:19:25 So just every single time I step foot in a field, I just like to have fun. Just going out there and acting like a kid, just waking up and just being excited to go out there and ball, and just put on a show in front of the whole entire world. And I just love just playing the game of football. I love going out there and compete
Starting point is 01:19:43 when my teammates, winning games. And of course, hopefully one day, hold up that trophy. So, and then of course, at the end of it, when it's all said and done, you have that gold jacket around my back. That's always something that I dream about and always carry myself with. Just that legacy and just always trying to
Starting point is 01:20:04 make a name for myself. That's always something just always trying to you know make a name for myself that's always something I'm trying to do. I think you can leave the hanger open brother it's on its way. I think already you can say that which goes to everything you've already accomplished and we thought maybe this past year was going to be the year that you go and get that confetti shower with that being said feels like every year it's possible go ahead Con man. Yeah Justin what's it like playing for KO Obviously, it feels like he's a super genius, one of the next office gurus. I assume you guys have conversations on the sideline and he can
Starting point is 01:20:33 draw it up for you, but we also saw him, I think in the beginning of the 2023 season when he didn't start so well and he can rip the team still. It was kind of just like a mic up and he was kind of cussing you guys all out. How is he on the day to day as a coach and is he one of those reasons you guys continue to have a bunch of success? He's wonderful. He's definitely one of the best coaches that I've been around, especially our offensive minded head coach, a coach that's in the meeting rooms,
Starting point is 01:21:02 that's going over the plays, that you know talking with you talking with you or you know how to get you open and how to you know just put you in different situations to help the team out he's he's great you know he's great all around just talking to him not only about football but just about anything him just being a players coach and just being such a great person to talk to. His pregame speeches are always top tier. So he's a great guy. I love being around him.
Starting point is 01:21:32 I love being a player for him and just being in the system. That's definitely something I'm grateful for. Hopefully we continue to do great things and just like you say it hold up hold up that trophy You go you want like eight for 180 or something one first half and it's like all week All the other team is saying is Justin Jefferson cannot Break the game 18 can't break it That is all that is all we're worried about and then you look the halftime stats because we can't follow every single game
Starting point is 01:22:02 It's like Jay Jefferson seven catches 140 yards two touchdowns like did they start the game? Did they start the game early? Did they start? No, that's halftime. That is halftime It's like seems like in that system, you know, I think any system you'd be great But with KOC obviously he understands you and you understand him pretty well with that being said Massive question mark looming going into the year. Tone has a question for you. Yeah, Jesse, you've got balls from, you know, Kirk and Nick Mullins and the Pastronaut and Jaren Hall and Sam Darnold. So you've got a lot of guys in that system. And there's a question, who's going to be your quarterback this upcoming season? Do
Starting point is 01:22:41 you care who it's going to be and what's your favorite type of quarterback to catch balls from? Since you've had a ton of them. Yeah That's a great question. I'm not sure who the quarterback is gonna be And just like I said last year, you know, it truly doesn't matter personally To me, you know, it doesn't matter who's gonna throw me that ball, I'm gonna make the most of my opportunities. I'm gonna try to make him look the best quarterback in the whole NFL, just, you know, making the contested catches, making those catches that look difficult be easy.
Starting point is 01:23:16 So just having that confidence in me and just, you know, creating that connection with the quarterback, no matter who the quarterback is going to be. That's the main part and just you know just having that confidence in each other to you know when it's all said and done and it's getting crush time they know who to go who to go to. You and Sam were wonderful to watch this past year. You and Kirk were awesome. Yeah. You and the Pastronaut. I mean literally he rattled off all those names and I was just thinking of highlights that you had with all those guys I forget what it's been like over in Minnesota for the last few years can't wait to see who
Starting point is 01:23:50 Quest see and KOC and hopefully they let you know who they decide with going forward Good luck over there at the quarterback position AJ has last question for you here Justin Yeah, you mentioned getting on the same page and it's kind of crazy. We hear people talk about, yeah, it takes some time, you know, with there's nuance in the routes and everything and how a quarterback likes you to run it. What do you, what do you do to where you're on the same page? It seems like instantly with whoever they plug in there at the quarterback position. Oh, one is just building that connection with them. Uh, just building that
Starting point is 01:24:20 chemistry, you know, just talking with them, uh, you know, not only about just routes and X's and O's, but just talking about their life personally, getting to know them personally, and just building that bond with them. That's one thing alone, but of course, going out there on the practice field and running through those plays
Starting point is 01:24:40 and making everything look smooth and fluent, getting to the spots where the quarterback needs me to be at. And of course, at the end of the day, making a grab. That's the main important thing, is just making those catches that the quarterback feels good when he throw up a 50-50 ball and his receiver's coming down with that ball. So I just try to make the most of my opportunities every time I step foot on that field,
Starting point is 01:25:05 no matter who the quarterback is. And I will continue to do that every chance that I get. We just showed a couple of routes there. It's like, you said getting to the spot that you said you would get to no matter what, that one route was like, he was running out, dig post, back into a seam. I mean, it was just like six different things.
Starting point is 01:25:23 It was like, how do you guard that? You can't. This year was crazy though. This year, this year has been so much more double teams, so much more triple teams. It's been a lot, it's been a lot more harder to create that separation and get open. You know, like I've been before, but you know, just talking with K.O., talking with Sam and just all being on the same page, us working with each other to, you know just talking with K.O. talking with Sam and just all being on the same page Us working with each other to you know help me create that separation and help me get open I feel like that's the number one thing of especially about being with those with these guys that you know They they know what they're talking about. They know what plays to run to get me open
Starting point is 01:25:59 Whenever you talk about getting to know the quarterback personally or whatever, you know, not just X's and O's on the field. what did you learn about Sam Darnold? What an interesting career he has had. Did you guys talk about that at all? Very interesting, very interesting. And just looking back on it, seeing it from afar, he just needed to be in that right system. He needed to be with some guys that can make a little things easier for him.
Starting point is 01:26:25 Just having a top tier quarterback, having top tier running back, having top tier tight end, having those type of guys on the offense to help you move the ball down. Have Justin Jefferson on your team. Yeah, yeah, we get it. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, it'd be cool to have
Starting point is 01:26:40 Justin Jefferson on your team. Yeah, yeah, I get it. You know, things are a little bit easier than what they were when you don't have those type of guys. So just seeing him in practice, seeing the things that he's doing to overcome the past and the career he had before, and just not letting the outside noise get to him. Just being the type of guy that just trying to, you know, evolve him any chance
Starting point is 01:27:06 that I get, trying to give him that juice, give him that energy that I can, any chance that I can. Even when he's making a bad throw or make a bad read, you know, I'm going over there and making sure that, you know, he's not sitting on it. He's not, you know, keeping his mind on that. We're moving on to the next play. We're still with him. We still had that confidence in him.
Starting point is 01:27:26 It's just all about just going out there and just having fun playing. That's awesome. What a different experience he had to have this past year, first time in the past. I see your shirt as we let you go. L'Academie de Jetta. Okay, I believe that is Jetta University,
Starting point is 01:27:39 if that was to be trans. Is that flight school? Is that what it is? What you, what you know about all this, man? We, we, we, we, we, we, bonjour, ça va, ça va bien. The whole, um, I was just up in Canada, you know, they speak French up there in some places. Wild to think about, but they do, oui, oui. L'Académie de Jetta, though, that is Jetta University.
Starting point is 01:27:59 Is that flight school? Is that what we're also going to be calling flight school or no? No, this, this is just, you just you know my one of my under armor shirts you know just one of the you know what I'm saying so just creating that brand with under armor and they're doing so much to help me out even with flight school they're doing so much to help the guys have a great experience of course having the drip having the swag that they need a great experience, of course having the drip, having the swag that they need, but it's just going to be a fun experience and a great time, but thanks to all the people with the help that is going to be helping me out with it, but I'm excited to show the world the Elite 18 that's going to come to flight school. Oh, Elite 18! Okay, who are we at at the top of the 18? Flight school June 6th through the 9th, high school invite wide receiver camp
Starting point is 01:28:46 alongside Justin Jefferson and we assume many others are going to pour back into it. I'm just now seeing this particular graphic. No goes far. Yeah, that is sick. Appreciate it man, appreciate it man. Yeah, and- That's what I like to hear. I didn't know your beard was that problem.
Starting point is 01:29:05 The mustache, is that you on the top there? Yes. Looking left? Yeah. Look at the mustache, pretty thick. That's strong. Yeah, that's a strong mustache. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:16 That junk is growing. All right, we appreciate the hell out of you, man. Keep killing it. This is very cool. Thank you for giving back to the sport Always man love. Yeah, you too, man. Ladies and gentlemen, Justin Jefferson It's good mustache It was looking left and I was like the top. Yeah, I was like, is that a different someone else? Well, I didn't know if he got two pictures of himself and I'm one that's an interesting decision
Starting point is 01:29:44 But I didn't know his mustache was that thick. I mean, he's got a thick mustache growing out. That would have been an interesting decision. How you doing? Doing well, man It's uh, yeah, it's been a while but it's crazy how much can happen even like two days like the first two or three days We're off. It's like all kind of stuff just pops off. I feel like yeah I mean you go all the way back to the break the Four Nations happen, which I was I'm hanging out my family having a blast thinking about new things to the first time long time
Starting point is 01:31:32 Resting doing it all like just breathing for the first time basically since football season started and then this Four Nations starts popping on but it's like Man, I wish we were talking about this I wish we had a chance to chat about it and then obviously with the combine coming back last week so many things happened so many people stopped by. Did you hear about Rappaport and Schulte? Yes I did that was a that was not concern I mean I think this is good good rivalry is good for any sport anything you're doing. Yeah because what's going on there you think is Schulte trying to nip at the heels? Oh yeah. Right is that what Schulte is saying? Yeah he's like, there's a couple big names out there in the
Starting point is 01:32:06 insider game. I just want to let you know I'm here. And maybe there were some things being said behind the scenes, you know, in conversations that may be linked back to somebody. Hopefully there's some communication diatribe between these two and, you know, maybe they'll be able to move along. Dialogue, I mean, maybe two diatribes for the dialogue in the entirety. That was obviously something. And then these freak athletes AJ these freak What was the guy's name at Ole Miss which is a school? I guess I think we're allowed to say Oh, I think we're allowed to even say the school. I don't know if you heard about this or not Yeah, we alluded to something without saying any names while also saying alleged It was the number one story in the world basically on the internet
Starting point is 01:32:41 So we alluded to it that was brilliant people say, people said it was wrong. Nonetheless, hope everybody's okay, Donner. Hope everybody's okay. I know, okay, yeah, yeah. I know what's going on. Yeah, we showcased some empathy too. I don't know if a lot of others did that. I don't know if that was being mentioned. Some terrible, terrible things were being said about me.
Starting point is 01:32:57 But there was a guy, he's a D-tackle, his name's J.J. J.J. P-E-G-U-E-S. So we don't know if that's a pegs the goose guys peg ways Plugs, but maybe it's just big was maybe it's just peg too and everything else is silent behind it big peg nonetheless Let's do D tackle have you seen any of these clips of this guy and who else impressed this weekend AP tone?
Starting point is 01:33:23 Yeah, starting on Thursday Landon Jackson out of Arkansas he's a big six foot six 270 guy who jumped 40 inches ran a ran of sub-47 which is incredible for a defensive and he Tennessee defensive end James Pierce ran a 4-7 which was was huge for him he's gonna be the number two edge off the board most likely behind Abdul Carter and then on Thursday Shemar Stewart was the talk because of the numbers he put up now He didn't put up those numbers on the field, but at the combine he put up, you know 6-6
Starting point is 01:33:55 270 cool jumped 40 10 11 10 11 broad 4 6 in the 40 which is just you know Like a lot of people were saying I said those are Miles Garrett numbers at the combine. They are, did he do it on the field? No, but just absurd. And then you go to Friday, Terrence Ferguson had a great day, Mason Taylor had a great day. Those are two tight ends.
Starting point is 01:34:15 The safety out of South Carolina, Nick Amonwory, 6'3", 2'21", with a 43 inch vert, 4'38". Can you imagine having that, D-Butch? Yeah, that's ridiculous. Yeah, well, D-Butch? Yeah, that's ridiculous. Yeah, well, D-Butch, what did you run here for? 441, and what did you say, 43? 43. Same vert, same vert.
Starting point is 01:34:33 You had a 43-inch vert? Yeah, 43. Yeah, I-ha, brother. Butch. Yeah, that's what they called him. I-ha. Sheesh. Yeah, bunnies, brother.
Starting point is 01:34:42 Also in that group, Maxwell Harrison, the DB out of Kentucky He ran a 4 to 8 and had a 39 and a half inch vert So he's potentially a first runner now and then D buds guy Jaday Baron 4 3 9 out of Texas Big big physical good-looking DB. I like him all around DB AJ you obviously did you do anything at the combine? I don't recall. Yeah, I did everything except for the medical You just were very difficult in the medical department. No, I did every all that was required of me I did all the MRIs and everything
Starting point is 01:35:12 I just didn't I did not volunteer any extra information about things that may have been painful And if they didn't find a surgery on my record, then I did not update them That's on them not on you. Obviously they have a job to do, you have a job to do as well. You're trying to get to the NFL. There's more and more players opting out of doing these workouts. So anytime we see any of these freak numbers, we must be grateful for it.
Starting point is 01:35:33 And I think we should put it over. Yeah, I was happy speaking about guys that were opted out. A lot of the Ohio State guys opted out of doing stuff, but the running backs did go and the running backs had a big day on Saturday. All of the running backs performed well. But one of the best ones was the running back out of Ohio State, Quinn Sean Jenkins, who went six foot, two 20, ran a four, four eight had a 38 and a half inch vert. So like when he does that at that weight, like that jumps
Starting point is 01:35:57 him up. And then the guy out of UNC, Omarion Hampton had the same exact height, same exact weight, but also ran a four, four six. So a quicker and I know D but loves him very very productive one of those backs. You love it Look it might be the first guy off the board Blue freak show he's a dog Record-breaking running back, but this guy we know how valuable know the past game is on the next level He's special. I mean, but both these guys are special I'm glad the running backs are coming back to a point we may get to maybe even three in the first round again Whoa. Yeah, and I don't know if that was a talent issue or if it was just a
Starting point is 01:36:35 Strategy issue from NFL teams, but now that the Philadelphia Eagles have won it a lot more teams You're in a monkey see monkey do copycat league. Just like Tyrese Halliburton was talking about, well we've become a three-point shooting league because the champions have been three-point shooting teams. So it's a copycat league. What you see the best team do, you're going to try to do. The Philadelphia Eagles, they were a run-first team. They were an offensive line team. They were a running back led team. And whenever you think about that, and other teams are like, why don't we do that? That seems to be sustainable. And they had been having success investing in the offensive line. They'd been having success being a O-line, D-line,
Starting point is 01:37:09 Howie team, but they hadn't got to the mountaintop. So although we can all say they had had success and it seems to be a good formula, around the NFL it's like, well, they have one Super Bowl. So until that team can be the best team, we don't want to hear about it. Now that team is the best team and that formula is becoming the formula
Starting point is 01:37:25 So Quinn Sean Judkins transfers from Ole Miss to go to Ohio State had more yards than Trevion Henderson Even though everybody was saying Trevion Henderson was the guy he was he had a good weekend as well He read the four fours as well, Ohio State Hey, they're saying well hired did not do AJ they're saying he did not here. I mean that's that hear. I mean, that's the, I guess that's the risk you take throwing at the combine, huh? Yeah, and Shador Sanders, shout to Shador coming out and saying like, this dude just won the national championship, man. You don't know any of these wide receivers.
Starting point is 01:37:54 He's throwing go balls to guys running four sevens. He was throwing to Iqbuka and Tate and Jeremiah Smith. These guys are NFL guys. He got them thrown to insurance guys and his Timing is off and everybody wants to murder. He's basically what Sridhar Sanders said in this entire tweet, but it's very real I did not get a chance to watch it live in real time. I did watch it back later. It started out bad He started out. It started out not good and The louder it gets and the more chatter the more
Starting point is 01:38:25 people are gonna tell their guys not to throw at this you know like Will Howard's pro day I assume is gonna be great I assume Will Howard's pro day is gonna be incredible that's what I'm guessing cuz everybody's is but yeah I mean well I guess what he put out there not everybody saying was fantastic there were some highlights there were cherry picked of course but there are some people saying bad day for Will Howard I don't know if that's true. I feel like he's Definitely wasn't a great day even from the testing standpoint and speaking to testing and quarterbacks. I think Miro should have ran to 40 I think yeah, what's that? What are we doing?
Starting point is 01:38:55 Separating from a lot of guys his physical attributes, but a guy like Will Howard I would think Kind of had to go there throw and top guys, they definitely have the option. And if you are a top guy, if I'm an agent, I'm definitely gonna tell you not to throw. There's nothing you can gain from that, especially if you've already put out the film. But where does DJ have like, will now like third or fourth? I don't know, it's not good.
Starting point is 01:39:16 Everything's not good. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thanks for asking. That's what he wanted to see. Yeah, I mean, like he said, like, you know, him like going out there and completing a bunch of passes isn't necessarily the important thing You just want to see how the NFL ball comes out of his hands
Starting point is 01:39:28 So like you said, I mean he's gonna turn around and go on and his pro day and we might be having like a Zach Wilson Like hey, will how will Howard went 55 of 55 and he's doing all not I'm not saying they're the same guy because I don't think that but So a D butch ever here first day back saying I've been listening to you talk about this will hard what he goes under a lot of people have been telling me the same thing D Butch I mean a lot of tweets from people saying this is your this is your king Yeah, he's on live to I do he saw what he did play off. It gets the same thing It was it it was tough too Cuz you know Jackson Dart threw well in that group Quinn threw well in that group Brady cooked
Starting point is 01:40:05 It looked pretty good in that group. Um I just didn't look as good as those guys. Yeah, but look at the arm strength We are straight over through that was that was a dime. Oh, this is I'm sorry This is Jackson dart Jackson dart threw very well, which I think at Ole Miss He was able to showcase a lot. Some people were saying maybe he ends up at Pittsburgh, but Jeremy Fowler put out a post that said, hey, the Pittsburgh Steelers are leaning just in field. Speaking of Ohio State quarterbacks,
Starting point is 01:40:31 now that the Matthew Stafford domino has fallen, Aaron Rodgers, I think all eyes on him next, allegedly via report from Schefter, the New York Giants were interested in Aaron Rodgers. AJ, have you heard anything of this sort, or did you have no service while you're out on the Buckeye, Drunk Eye, Potential, Cuckeye, Crews?
Starting point is 01:40:48 Whoa, whoa, whoa. We don't know, we don't know. Potential. I've not heard anything about Aaron to the Giants, I just, yeah, I mean, it is a bit interesting to think, like, what would it look like if Aaron did go to the Giants and play for them? What does their team look like then?
Starting point is 01:41:02 So he would be able to stay in the same house, we all know how much everybody hates moving. True. Everybody hates moving. Moving absolutely stinks. And if you look at the end of the year with Aaron and then Devonte Adams is being reported, nobody's heard from Devonte or Devonte's people,
Starting point is 01:41:16 but everybody's just assuming that Devonte, whenever he gets released from the Jets, if they can't find a trade partner, which is like 38 million or something like that, if they can't find a trade partner and he gets released, he's just gonna go there and Roger's wherever they go. So there's a a tag team going wherever that's just kind of being assumed right now on the internet I don't think we've heard anything from anybody that that in Devante's camp that is necessarily true He did have like kind of a tongue-in-cheek thing where he said he would you know, like certainly
Starting point is 01:41:39 Consider maybe going back to Green Bay and in his career there and that's just as like a Packers fan obviously And Aaron'saka and Aaron Who knows? Whoa! Competition is great for everybody. You know, that's what we're hearing that here in town competition is great for everybody whatever happens I just same I mean It's it will stink if the Giants are the only opportunity he has to be a starter somewhere because I really I talk about Aaron here Yeah, Aaron
Starting point is 01:42:04 I just I don't know how that ends well. Because, I mean, I guess if you're Shane and Dable, like they kinda are coaching for their jobs. So you don't really wanna trade up and draft one of these rookie quarterbacks and put all your chips into that basket because of them. That guy's not the savior. Then you're probably shit out of luck. But I just, I don't know, you look at their roster and
Starting point is 01:42:24 like they do have some good pieces But we looked at the Jets roster and we're like, hey, this is like a potentially a Super Bowl team And I don't think you look at that with the Giants and think that so I hope he lands on his feet somewhere and gets An opportunity. I just really hope it's not with the Giants a cool thing with the Giants that could happen because it would kind of stink Just the New York teams and the New York media dealing with it But at least his stamp could be on him for longer like if the Giants do end up with Rogers and For sure day ball and Shane are coaching for this year
Starting point is 01:42:52 And if they're if they're not good this year, then they might be done So, you know their number one priority might not be a young quarterback But if they go with Rogers and then also take you know a should door or a cam ward with their draft pick Then all of a sudden it's like Hey it's your team for a year and then going forward the years after like You're gonna get credit for the guy that comes behind you like Jordan love with the Packers I feel like Rogers still gets you know a little credit for the reason that the Packers have had this seamless
Starting point is 01:43:20 Transition is because of the time Jordan love had behind him and then he might have that same opportunity transition is because of the time Jordan Love had behind him and he might have that same opportunity with the Giants where he signs you know a one-year deal kind of goes out on a high note and also gives you know the keys over to a Chidora or a Cam War. What was the stat on the Giants two and nine last year in one score games is that what it was Bruce or is it worse than that or was it like one and nine or something like that? I think it was was that at one point you know we were playing competitively in the first half of the season We had Andrew Thomas we were losing those games there and then obviously, you know around Thanksgiving what everybody remembers Tommy
Starting point is 01:43:52 DeVito drew lock at all it all fell apart But you know, I I think nine wins is a real realistic expectation The booze down Bruce is that your issues? No. No, it's gonna be oh gumby's pledging his allegiance. It does appear Drinking some loose juice from Zoey. Oh, yeah Malik neighbors is there obviously I don't know enough about the entirety of the roster because there was no reason to watch their games towards the end of the year. They were completely out of it, way out of it.
Starting point is 01:44:28 A lot of conversation about the Hard Knocks off season. We heard from people at the Giants at the combine, I don't know if you heard about this, where they said, hey, fair, you had to do what you had to do. With the way we talked about the Hard Knocks thing, they wanted us to know, hey, you had to do what you, we saw it too. Yeah, it's no harm, no foul.
Starting point is 01:44:46 That was pretty cool to hear in it, but then whenever Schefter breaks that news, you immediately go like, is that what Aaron, I don't know, it's interesting. You think about Dayball, Dayball has obviously had success multiple different times in the NFL. Is Cleveland an option, are the Browns an option? Well, now there's, now we're in Tanenbaum
Starting point is 01:45:04 proposes wild trade season. Yes we are. Yeah yeah so Deshaun Watson and his contract that's actually going to Los Angeles Rams they'll eat that to get Miles Garrett just like they were able to do with Matthews. That makes sense. Yeah we're in that now with that being said Tanenbaum did say Justin Fields right then't he the one before, whenever we thought Justin Fields was the only untouchable with the Chicago Bears because he was the only one that had any highlights throughout an entire year. Tannenbaum's first thing was like, they need to trade Justin Fields, they need to do this, they need to keep the pick, they need to do yada yada yada.
Starting point is 01:45:38 He was the first one that said move on from Justin Fields. So everyone's about Tannenbaum's going to take a massive, I mean he's gonna take that thing all the way around like that Japanese golfer guy that I watched. Beautiful range. Beautiful range. So smooth. But that's like Tannenbaum's gonna do that with a baseball bat once in a while. This one seemingly absurd. But the Cleveland Browns quarterback situation is one that is a very real convo. What do they decide to do? Do they take one of these quarterbacks who are potentially gonna go on a very small salary He was a veteran like Russell Wilson who did for the Pittsburgh Steelers last year where he charged them
Starting point is 01:46:14 $1,000,000 to be their quarterback and 48 million was charged back to Denver or whatever was 38 with 48 58 whatever 80 some whatever It was in the hole It's like the Browns tried to do that to is Aaron gonna be that guy because he's getting paid from the Jets Is he gonna take like what is Kirk Cousins situation? They're thinking they're gonna keep them But everybody's like are they really going to it's like all these things are massive question marks But Jeremy Fowler says Steelers leaning towards field Giants wanted Stafford bad now They're gauging all options not everyone in league convinced Falcons cut cousins okay so there's a chance he
Starting point is 01:46:48 stays Carson Wentz maybe he becomes a cheap veteran quarterback for the Browns would be awesome yes in Cleveland imagine him balancing on that elf in the middle of that field. That's James to Carson. That's throwing up at Doane. I mean that is football heaven and then Daniel Jones being in the mix obviously he was on the Vikings tail end of last year, but other teams that won a veteran quarterback will be able to get them. And how cheap can you get all these guys is a massive question and part of it. Yeah. And for the Browns, Shefty did tell us, I think last week, like, Hey, the Browns are
Starting point is 01:47:17 taking a quarterback at two. So the Carson Wentz thing kind of makes sense if that's the type of quarterback they're looking for, like a bridge like Maybe maybe even like a mariotta before jaden daniels just took off But so what the Sean just just in street clothes or not even a game I don't cuz it's Achilles he did his Achilles again. Yes, he's not gonna be healthy, right? Yeah, he's rehabbing all year next year So is he even at the games? I'm not no, why would you have I mean, why would you have them there? What a trade my god what a trade isn't that crazy the worst change the face of the nfl like legit change the course of the nfl everything guaranteed mulligat that day what they would
Starting point is 01:47:56 know how big no outs any texans got stroud and will anderson from it no you're right yeah texans win big big yeah they win but A lot of people are talking about cousins to the Browns just because Stefanski was with him at the Vikings and they had such success there at the Vikings and if they needed a cheap quarterback. And when Flacco was playing pretty similar style to Kirk Cousins, they had a lot of success. Were able to make it to the playoffs obviously in a run that none of us could have even fathomed. And Kirk potentially in the middle of doing one of those deals where it's like, yeah, I'll take a million bucks
Starting point is 01:48:26 because I'm making 20 here from somewhere else. Yeah, that's where like that cut report from Fowler so like vital to Cleveland success. Cause if they don't cut them, they legitimately can't pay quarterbacks more money. They can't do it. It is impossible. They'll completely cripple their entire team even more.
Starting point is 01:48:45 It'd be hilarious. I hope they do it. But still. Miles Garrett not even open in negotiations. What a scene in Cleveland. Get me out of here. That's a war saying like, yeah, if they trade Miles Garrett like that, I want to trade him too. He's like their other best player. Are they going to be able to field a team next year? Might be a UFL squad speaking of, have you heard AJ? Yeah, are they holding out some guys?
Starting point is 01:49:09 Striking, yeah holding out I guess. The 130th to 150th ranked quarterbacks at the professional level are striking or holding out from the UFL training camp because they're commanding more money and $55,000 I think was something that was mentioned in a report. These quarterbacks want more money and I think the report out of the UFL last year is it lost a hundred million. We don't got the money. I want more money too. So good luck to all parties over there. We like to see some spring ball. Yeah. We like to see spring highlights. We want it every week. Spring kicks.'d like to see some spring ball. Yeah. We'd like to see spring highlights. We want it every week.
Starting point is 01:49:46 Spring kicks. We'd like to see some spring. As long as the kickers are playing, I think we got highlights coming out of the UFL. That's the problem. Bates last year. That's the problem. Yeah, he bugged you, right?
Starting point is 01:49:56 That's the problem. If we're leading off with a kick and the highlights, we... The issue is, NFL holds onto like five quarterbacks right now. Kickers only one on the roster or two. So you're at like 33 in the world as opposed to 120 in the world at that position. So there's a chance you can get some good ones. Nonetheless, we'll continue on YouTube, ESPN plus, Disney plus and TikTok live. We'll see you tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:50:18 Monday Night Raw tonight from Buffalo on Netflix. What a great promo there at the end. Just really promoted it like a professional. Makes you feel like good, you know? It's gonna be good one too. I'm pumped up for tonight. Dude, fresh out of elimination chamber and everything in that bit. The UFL convo though, what you just chatted about with the kickers of the conversation, that's the issue. That's the real deal. These NFL teams all have four or five quarterbacks. Yep. And every young quarterback that's good is going or potentially good is going to the NFL so they can't join the UFO. So it's like what level of competition yet. We have OGs. Remember AJ
Starting point is 01:50:51 McCarran, yeah one played in there and then there's some guys that have become like spring football legends like the kid that was on st Louis originally then Heinecke was there his backup Teyama Jordan Teyama Like there's a couple guys that are like spring football legends at this point but like to get super high quality football players at that position the NFL has it all gobbled up for opportunity right now it's tough it's very very tough to run a spring league I think no wonder the final boss is so fucking pissed off
Starting point is 01:51:22 losing a hundred million dollars he's got all the quarterbacks on the picket line. I don't know if it was a hundred. It was reported as like lost everything. He made a sizable investment into this and lost a lot of money. Now he's got the quarterbacks on the picket line. No wonder he's pissed off. I don't know how it works out. But as soon as I read that the quarterbacks are striking I'm like read the room. Are they striking for everybody though? Are they striking they want everybody's base pay to go up or just the quarterbacks? I think it's just the quarterbacks are striking. I'm like read the room Are they striking they want everybody's base pay to go up or just the quarter things just quarterback just QB He might roll out Cena to throw the first pass He might make seniorly quarterback for the Argos or whoever the hell is in that The Vipers yeah the brahama Yeah, a lot things that have been said Yeah, a lot of things have been said for I get those teams mix of the bullshit leagues. I get CFL is a historic
Starting point is 01:52:13 Greats have played in the CFL UFO TBD TBD got to I'm telling you hey haven't we tried We've tried it in the spring. Yeah, just hard. It's XFL, USFL, UU, UFL. Yep. And now they're combined. They're all the UFL now. Is that what it is? Yeah, Fox and ESPN, both TV partner and they're like, that's a great deal. In theory, football, both networks should do well. Yeah. But instead you turn it on, it's like, all right. Also to be fair though I didn't I mean maybe maybe I'm gonna live under a rock I wasn't sure the league was happening until I heard that these guys were holding out. I
Starting point is 01:52:52 was I didn't really know. We didn't know year two was around the corner either. Okay. Now we do. I do appreciate that they didn't start immediately after the Super Bowl. They gave us some time to like miss ball. Remember they went straight from Super Bowl into Spring League and it was like we just watched Patrick Mahomes vs. Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley and now we're watching... okay it's gonna be tough. It's gonna be tough to take serious. Okay. I know you guys want an opportunity. Football, more football is good football. But what we just watched for like the last six months, first of all what we're
Starting point is 01:53:24 currently watching, it'll be difficult to kind of even with the college teams the way these college teams have been played Yeah, yeah, how good these college ball is so I like that they took a little bit of a break here to your point Forgot about it completely till I heard that they were holding out or striking or whatever and it's like I hope they get it Handled I do it'd be cool if the NFL made every team second stringer be the quarterback in the ufl Yeah, and one injury happens and yep, everybody soon third stringer. Everyone's third stringer I'm a fourth stringer. That's the thing like at this point the rosters are what a hundred and Whatever it is the NFL rosters. Yeah. Yeah, and they're all they're all carrying three quarterbacks at least take the pads off Okay, but let's get physical. Let's get violent
Starting point is 01:54:07 Let's do that lead that we saw Everyone before they start sure Hey Shane way to go brother proud of you Shane-o. Shane Gillis just went in there and did it. Rolls back the hand of time. Comedy. Seemingly what he does. Drops in at Saturday Night Live. Has some of the greatest skits they've ever had. And then says I'll see you later with a great mustache. He is starting, the hair very thick, the mustache very thick. Very attractive right now. Starting to look like a nice 45 year old professional adult.
Starting point is 01:54:47 You know, tired of us. You know, a couple of beers can solve a lot of things for a lot of people, especially Shane, as we know. Correct. That's kind of the conversation around him. That was method acting, I do believe, for Shane. Opening monologue, good. Great.
Starting point is 01:55:01 Couple callbacks and a seven minute monologue. I don't think that's necessarily easy. A lot of people call him a big dumb dipshit saying he lost it. It's like actually much harder to do what he did. Proud of you, Shano. Representing football. Representing football out there.
Starting point is 01:55:15 And the troops. And the troops. Amen. Two weeks or whatever. Whatever the case, signed up, thought he was the right guy. Decided he wasn't. That's how much respect he has for them. Nobody ever talks about it from that angle.
Starting point is 01:55:26 You want to talk about football, guys? I saw Jesse Palmer covering the Oscars yesterday. I'm like, shout out to the football guy on the red carpet. His range is unbelievable. Yeah, so attractive. Unbelievable. And his information on all these movies and stuff, I'm like, oh, he must have just been given a packet before this whole thing.
Starting point is 01:55:42 I assume. Because I don't know how you're able to have, he was great. Omar, the guy that runs the social media channel. What's he doing out there? What's he doing? He's hosting. He's hosting. Is he doing like red carpet interviews? He looks very natural on a microphone so that makes sense. He presented best picture didn't he? Did he? I think so. They say he actually owned the red carpet. How's that? He walked the distance of it I heard and watched. I don't know how of it. I heard I heard and watched I don't know how that happens. I don't know how that happens, but go for him taking advantage of the opportunity
Starting point is 01:56:14 Take this whole long as a real question Yeah, there's 600 hosts that are paid to be on microphones that I would assume you know around ESPN That would be like jump at the opportunity to host the fucking Oscars, you know, and this entire thing. So for the guy that runs the social media to be like, I could do it. I'm the one who could do it. That's an interesting move, but I appreciate the moxie. You know, I appreciate the moxie out of Omar. Tagging himself in the whole thing. Who knows if that opportunity is going to come back around?
Starting point is 01:56:40 Hey, congrats Omar! Take advantage of it. Take advantage. We don't know that. You have no idea. You have no idea. Hey, congrats Omar! Hell yeah, Omar! Take advantage of it! Take advantage- We don't know that! You have no idea! You might get a role! You have no idea! I haven't seen a number, I have not.
Starting point is 01:56:50 No, not if- Doesn't matter! I mean, that's like the most- I'm not gonna say it, I'm not gonna say it. I'd be in the next best picture film. There's a chance? Yeah, maybe he was- Omar out of water.
Starting point is 01:57:00 Did a little scan. Yeah, maybe he was shaking some hands. It was a hell of a play. That's what ESPN was representing that there. Then I saw Jesse Palmer on there and I was like all right good we do got some sports people here at the Oscars doing their thing and what happened at the Oscars? I didn't I fell asleep I saw Conan do his thing. I saw it came out at the Meemore. I didn't expect that I'll tell you that was certainly a start to it all. I appreciate the Wicked ladies doing what they did at the beginning.
Starting point is 01:57:26 The Sandman. Adam Sandler being Adam Sandler. Classic. I like, shallow man! I loved every, everything about that. It's kind of the problem. What was the, yeah, what was everything else that kind of took place?
Starting point is 01:57:37 As I know you are like a film nut, if you will. For sure, but the last several years, obviously like having a couple young children kind of changes things because you can't really see as many of These movies or don't have time but it's just So many of the movies are like unless you're like a die-hard Film buff like you're just not seeing them a Nora one best picture best actress best director It's bingo it kind of I think shocked a lot of people but it's like a very artsy thing like I I don't know I'm sure we could have but it's one of those things where like a lot of these movies anymore
Starting point is 01:58:08 It's like they get released and it's like they have the like you can see them in New York and you can see them in LA and then if you're lucky when they start to get Like Oscar buzz like they'll release some nationwide and we'll be able to see them here like seven So they're literally saying fuck the middle of America kind of kind of and I don't know if that's the situation with this one But like yeah, exactly. They neither I popped up last night and I was like I feel like I'm At least on the internet like somewhat in the know never even heard of this thing No, no never even and I think a lot of people too were like pissed off because like Dune 2 is a movie that like Most of America saw I was like a big box office, you know, Chalamet obviously is super hot right now, but that's kind of one of the things where like the Academy's like,
Starting point is 01:58:48 fuck it. Like we're not giving best picture to a movie like this. Like this is kind of our thing. We don't need something that everybody saw and everyone's going to get pissed about. And it's going to be the only movie that a lot of people saw out of this Oscar batch. So like not surprised that a movie like a Nora won, but I think that's also kind of the So like not surprised that a movie like a Nora one, but I think that's also kind of the the problem with the Oscars Is like it really kind of it kind of excludes a lot of like the basic movie going people who would watch the Oscars Because they've seen a couple of them. Yeah, I'm not sure if I got got but didn't someone from the Academy say they didn't watch Dune Trent they were like no that was true. Yeah allegedly
Starting point is 01:59:22 They were like, no, that was true. Yeah, allegedly And then they'll grandstand on us they didn't even watch the the qualifying movies for their own awards Like the guy that didn't vote for Lamar for he put him like fifth for MVP bingo But he at least saw him and said he was doing on purpose, you know, spiteful You're right. Is he blind? Is this man blind and deaf? This man can't hear or watch the games Is this man blind and deaf? This man can't hear or watch the games? The movies though, it does feel like they Did the Demi Moore movie get nominated for an Academy Award? That was actually that was like the biggest upset of them
Starting point is 01:59:52 Did anyone see it? Anyone watch that movie? I saw Conan O'Brien come out of her back So I think there's probably something that happens in that movie I saw it, I watched it Demi Moore, she's great, she is great And I watched it and I, my wife and I watched it And we, it's weirdest. It's just, it's not good at all. It's really like, we watched it and
Starting point is 02:00:12 we were waiting for Okay, this might just get turned into something. Here we go. It got weirder and weirder and more bizarre. And then it ended. And I was blown away when I heard like I told when I told my wife, Hey, I think that was like a Golden Globe back whenever that was. Yeah, she won. She almost hit me She's like here. You always lie. Like what are you talking about? Like it's I didn't know that okay good for them. They made it They do always lies. Let's go ahead and talk about that. That's what his wife like Well, she thought I was messing with her when I said, oh, yeah
Starting point is 02:00:38 I got it, you know like some horrendous turd movie that I thought I like it's actually open Academy Awards She thought I was doing one of those Yeah, yeah to me more response to win best actor watch it for that So you watched it we did not I only saw the open with Conan coming out of her spine and then going back in I'm like, oh, I didn't know it was that type of I had no idea was that type of movie Is that what's happening? There's somebody living inside of her Yeah, she she gets this like potion that she can shoot herself up. She's like an aging superstar. Yes, they started the Oscars with a needle.
Starting point is 02:01:10 Like going into her. Yeah, it gets nasty. It's gross. Honestly, the movie gets gross the more it goes and how you're trying to navigate going back and forth from the young body to your old body. It's okay. Yeah, it's great. It's artsy.
Starting point is 02:01:23 Zito, I have a screen here You know we added a screen here for uh, any breaking news to pop up and it's a direct To zito's computer. So whatever pops up on zito's computer is popping up on the screen right here These photos from this movie are something it is gross. It's gross man. It gets like nasty This is what zito just popped up on the screen. This screen is getting me a word. I couldn't believe like we want Yeah, I just I don't know. I don't know This screen is really... It's getting me awards. I couldn't believe... Like we won... Yeah, I just... I don't know.
Starting point is 02:01:48 I don't know how to describe it. That's interesting. Well, I appreciate the arts and I appreciate people that are super creative and do their thing. But like... She was great. Great to see Demi Moore do well. She was great.
Starting point is 02:01:57 And I love entertainment and I like the creation of things. I like people being artsy and everything. Like I legitimately do. I appreciate and respect everybody's art. But it like for these awards like you got all of us watching I hate that they're almost doing it like in spite of us like because we like things because we're dumb because we're just dumb doofuses that like you know shoot them up movies that's what they think yeah so good movie but like great isn't that what movies are for?
Starting point is 02:02:22 are movies made to entertain people and be watched and things like that without a doubt I just don't think there's not really like now. It's either Like super artsy movies like that or it's like superhero movies There is like no in between really in the theaters because they just don't make money. So is Netflix They're now being respected for the films that they are making I think one of the movies last night like Zoe's Saldana. She won best supporting actress I believe that was a Netflix movie. So that might be like the first kind of Movement but in the past it's been like no fuck that like we're not
Starting point is 02:02:57 Coda a couple years ago was on Apple TV that kind of changed it a little bit But traditionally they're giving Oscars to movies that are in theaters not just going right to the stream Roma Roma one Yeah that one time that was like a famous director that was a Netflix movie and then to your point about like the artsyness of it I went to watch the movie that the guy who won best actor Adrian Brody. He won best So he was sucking face with Halle Berry yeah in front of his wife and his wife is cheering him on so even cooler, but That movie's three and a half hours long, so I went to watch it and it was three and a half hours So you're an hour and a half in there's no end in sight. I didn't even start Golfing here. Yeah, I just tried to squeeze in a movie before the Oscars
Starting point is 02:03:45 and try and watch it. But it's like, that's Oscar bait. You know, it's like about like a Jewish dude, like post-World War II, who, you know, like, and it's a super long movie that, like, immediately the average person is going to see three and a half hours. And they're like, fuck that. I'm not watching.
Starting point is 02:04:01 Can they get like a people's Oscar then? They talked about doing that, like best action movies. So at least we feel like we're a part of MTV Movie Awards before Yeah a little astronaut there Yes, sags felt like they were trying to maybe entertain humans a little bit I think so that's a little bit more fun. Not as stuffy and pretentious, but the Oscars This is just what they're known for, huh? Kind of.
Starting point is 02:04:26 And I feel like as the conversation about movies and movie theaters being dead has kind of come up a lot more in the last five years or since COVID, I think they've kind of firmed their stance on, OK, well, if no one's going to the movies, then fuck the audience. Let's just do the shit that we like. We would like to say to the Academy that we'd like to shake their hands.
Starting point is 02:04:48 Like we're gonna watch your award shows. Like we watch them and we appreciate all the work that goes into it. If you just think about us, like we'd like to, you know, maybe rally behind a movie. They used to. You know, that has a chance to win. Just like teams, you know.
Starting point is 02:05:02 You see a team early, you don't know about Bo and rally behind, let's go win. It's like, it's hard to pay attention whenever it's like who is it and then my natural reaction is to start making fun of her but you know like why why is Timmy not winning all these awards the only guy I know he got robbed yeah and the Bob Dylan thing I I'm not a big I like obviously I know of Bob Dylan I've heard his songs I know he's incredibly deep thinker I know he's a trailblazer But I don't think anybody would consider me like Bob Dylan guy Which I think a lot of Bob Dylan people thought he would have to be a Bob Dylan person to enjoy that movie in its entirety
Starting point is 02:05:33 Or whatever I watch it. I'm like Scott feels like he nailed it Yes This feels like it nailed it and then when everybody's like pushing him and then I meet him I'm like this guy's superstar This guy's an absolute superstar and obviously him and Sandman being able to hang like that Especially two Hoopers like they are having that moment. That was like very relatable. That felt good. Yeah, it was like this is the guy That's the problem This is the guy like I mean they so they don't like that others like college game day saying this is the guy They're like, is that right?
Starting point is 02:06:03 We'll be the ones they go there might be some a little a little bit of that to it But like Leo like they made him wait forever, you know Like a lot of people thought like he he should have won best actor You know 20 years ago and they just made him wait and wait and wait and wait and then finally he won it for a movie Where everyone was like, well, you know, like this is bullshit They shouldn't have even won it for this one But it's kind of just like hey you pay your dues and then you know you you give your your career to like the film industry And then we'll kind of we'll make it right at some point
Starting point is 02:06:30 I'm not saying that's what's happening with Timmy Chalamet But I wonder if people get a little sour like because that he was you know the main character in Dune one and Dune two It's like this big. You know tentpole like action movie franchise like I think complete unknown. Yeah, exactly I think they kind of look so they get jaded at how good this guy is that's great for sure hey that can motivate you Timmy even your own people don't want you to be great they don't want you to win you will though you know why because you're looking up to Michael Jordan Michael Phelps and the greats in the acting I can't wait to watch me that yellow suit yeah clean yeah also like doesn't matter you know like the Rock's never gonna win an Oscar.
Starting point is 02:07:06 You just fucking. Cena will though. Cena might, Cena might. Cena's like actual actor. Oh yeah. Like very, not that The Rock isn't, but The Rock is in rock movies. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:07:18 You know, John Cena. He's an action star. John Cena's like doing. He's got range, big time range. Yeah, yeah. Did, what was it Vinicky Ricky's to make Ricky's did that was that up for the Oscars no it was it was what yeah I know believe it or not it wasn't but that is why Cena has a
Starting point is 02:07:37 chance because the Rock is never not gonna be the star in one of his movie you know like he's not playing a bit part well why would he the guy made 88 million off of Blockbuster. Exactly. Number one. Did you see the red one, which everybody was talking about? Oh, man, I loved red one. Did you see the video?
Starting point is 02:07:52 It was the number one, number one premiere in the history of Amazon or something like that. Great movie. I saw it in the promo for The Rock during Elimination Chamber. They ran this video about The Rock and how do we get here? And they had red one on the screen. I'm like, I like this movie. Excited to see what they say They say number one premiere in the history of Amazon or whatever was on it's like, of course
Starting point is 02:08:08 Yeah, see a million dollar global Moana to this You think he's gonna be a co-star I say that and I say he's not gonna win an Oscar but he is gonna be in a movie with fucking Scorsese True Leo and Emily And Emily Munt. So like there's a chance that he could. Go get it. Cena's gonna win awards for Peacemaker. Season two coming out this summer.
Starting point is 02:08:31 You're talking about being committed to whatever. Now granted he's committed to winning the 17th title. Love it. Love it. Let's get to a break. Damn it John. Cena turned heel. D-Bone had to make this graphic right here.
Starting point is 02:08:43 Boom. Cena turns heel! Cena turns heel! Had to. Had to make this graphic right here boom Cena turns heel Cena turns heel had to had to make this crowd. He was doing this no matter what just to have he was sending group texts And i'm a part of during the elimination chamber. Damn it. Cena stop putting over the younger talent Going to business for yourself He bones saying he did Made absolute cinema made the right decision see the certainly that's what he said that's a D Bones text I'm I'm sitting there and obviously if shit comes near us or if anything's happening I stand up move
Starting point is 02:09:12 phones in front of me I pick it up group text D bone has like five texts like what's he saying it all right that was awesome man you and me way to tell the rock to go to hell go fuck himself we get sound on this video What the? Travis Scott man, killed me Oh No more he says Well, call he's taking a Rolex and punching him in the face I was pretty jacked up in this moment. You should be not to be I'll tell you what what a moment to be sitting there Oh Now he's gonna hit with the mic
Starting point is 02:10:59 That's it disrespect from Cena Tim John on the American Nightmare Travis Scott's about to get his into Travis Scott's about to get his into the biggest shot of the night. Yes. He did that smacked in the face. Holy I mean like actually Tell me wrestling is a real down. I don't know if the American Nightmare has Has been smacked that is some time. Well, he because he didn't, well he doesn't, he didn't work as a champion so. He turns his head, holy shit what the fuck man. He's smacking a lot. Already bleeding. Let's get to a break on the other side, we'll uh wrap up all the news from around.
Starting point is 02:11:37 That's no fun. That's like Bianca Belair's whip to live. Yeah. Holy shit man. I missed the mama roadster. That elimination chamber, both of them was here. Turn sound, sound, sound, sound. Morgan and Liv Morgan just using Belair's hair to try to hang on for dear life.
Starting point is 02:11:54 This cut turn ugly for both. Oh, Liv Morgan just got whipped by Belair and she's hanging on now. And she collapses to the floor! She had a welt growing on her body as the match continued and she kept like, obviously anytime we tried to show it she was like covering up because that has to hurt so bad. She posted the welts and the bruises that she's had since then, it's like... Damn!
Starting point is 02:12:24 You want to be a wrestler huh that's what people you know my dream is be a professional wrestler it's like okay about to get your fucking ass beat yeah that's a that can happen out of nowhere no that's not how it goes right I've heard as I it's like oh yeah then do it again two days later yeah go ahead and get one yeah not even one day sometimes it's the whole thing what a show elimination chamber was from beginning to end lucky to be a part of it Sports our wonderful way to catch on that's AJ Hawk fresh off a Buckeye cruise Talks it was here at boss Connor and that's I should made one half of the hammer
Starting point is 02:13:02 God Cowboys AP tone is here a nine-year NFL vet Darius J. Butler's here looking is her incredibly cool Compton Country Club. Love the hat. Yeah, I love it too man Appreciate have you ever been? Nope. Does it exist? Sure You poser What he's supporting? We don't even know You talking about the CCC? You're talking about the... What the what?
Starting point is 02:13:26 What's that? You're talking about the Compton Country Club. Yeah, it exists. Their mission is Compton Country Club initiative, strives to improve the lives of Compton residents by offering affordable golf, fostering community through events and resources, and providing educational support.
Starting point is 02:13:47 So yeah, I'm cool with the CCC. Yeah, you know me. Yeah, absolutely, great hat. Appreciate you, it's a clean hat. Yeah, and you're doing a lot for the community. Thanks for bringing that up. No problem, Connor. Sorry, sorry we had to ruin your day.
Starting point is 02:14:00 I didn't ruin my day, I'm pumped about it. Sorry we had to ruin your day. Anyways, some NFL headlines that we have not chatted about, big ones actually. Debo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers formally has been traded to the Washington Commanders. Now this is obviously a big deal because it only came for a fifth round pick.
Starting point is 02:14:18 Now, I believe Washington's picking up his money, so that is a part of the contract and conversation. $17.55 million for a top widewide receiver Jaden Daniels gets another weapon a lot of people were saying for a fifth round pick we could have got Deebo Samuel fifth round pick 17 and a half million dollars now there's gonna have to be a new contract that's gonna have to be discussed we would assume the commanders obviously understand the situation before they make the trader finalize the trade but Deebo leaves San Fran last year was Ayuk who might be on
Starting point is 02:14:44 the move yet again this year it's Debo getting traded the Niners always have something seemingly AJ what are your thoughts on a fifth round pick for Debo Samuel yeah it does not seem like you have to give up much to get Debo when you say yeah only a fifth rounder and then so this is the last year on this contract correct were they 17.55 mil yes all right yes and they were probably yes agreed to a long-term contract But yeah, I mean I think this is a heck of a deal for Washington here And obviously the Niners were gonna do something with them
Starting point is 02:15:11 They you know whenever receivers get like I don't know how old is Dbo. He's not old 29 years old Yeah, dang that dude still young. What a great pickup for Washington I I'd like it it seems also like a change the scenery is what is needed to I think that to spark Debo Even though the guy's still awesome him and Terry McLaurin are quite a dog Duo yeah for Jayden Daniels going into year two with Cliff Kingsbury sticking around so the same exact Offense and anything we hear about Dan Quinn over there is he likes dogs like that's what he is a dog mentality person Feels like Debo should fit in right away. Have to get a deal done, but this feels like an easy trade
Starting point is 02:15:48 for the commanders to pull the trigger on you. But. Should be good for him. He didn't have a great year last year. You know, I don't know how healthy he was, but did not have a great year last year. So we'll see. We know around the league, these skilled positions,
Starting point is 02:16:01 once you get to that 30 mark, still young to us, but a lot of people with a decision-maker, they start to look at guys. Okay. Maybe they're falling off a cliff, but another weapon, uh, Clint Kingsbury, this offense, a lot of hurry up. So you get this guy, get screens, get him out in space. He is a tough, tough, tough guy to tackle. We know what Terry McClure is down the field. And I would, I would, I would assume that they get even more firepower on the outside in this draft this year. So, um, should be an exciting offense that just continues to trend upward. All Cliff has to do is just give him slants.
Starting point is 02:16:29 Yeah. He's slant god. That is what Deebo does. Get the ball in his hand. Because he's a running back. Yup. Also has the ability to be a running back. Okay, that's not a slight even though he might take it as a slight or people might say it's
Starting point is 02:16:40 a slight. He's a wide receiver who can also play running back. So if you get the ball in his hands in traffic, he's not scared first of all. And then his yak is normally absurd. Obviously not this past season, but you're banking on him coming back to full form, especially with Jaden,
Starting point is 02:16:54 who's been able to throw over the middle since he got to the league, which not every quarterback has the ability to do. Yeah, especially with Jaden on that contract. Like them getting Debo is awesome, but can you imagine if they go out and get another one? Like what Devante and Cooper Cup both still out there and Terry McLaurin is never in his entire career had a number two like Debo Samuel
Starting point is 02:17:13 So I assume Terry McLaurin is gonna be way better and also, you know, Dibou didn't have a great year last year I you was hurt, you know, Christian McCaffrey was hurt. Debo was kind of the focal point of the offense So everyone was focusing on him and now you can't do that with Jaden Daniels, especially with Terry, but also him moving. And they got, you know, Brian Robinson Jr. like Washington really is now one of the top markets to go to. And they got a ton of cast space. I don't remember.
Starting point is 02:17:37 Debo hates us. No, I don't think on receivers. He was watching the program. No, he likes it. He's on that documentary. You know, I remember last time he was on the show. He was like, wasn't that average? He was like super mad when he saw the show. He was like, I don't think so. On receivers he was watching the program. No, he likes us. He's been on the show. On that documentary.
Starting point is 02:17:46 You know, I remember last time he was on the show he was like, wasn't that average, he was like super mad. Yeah, it was Super Bowl week and they had just got beat. Yeah. Oh yeah. It was a James Cook situation. Oh yeah, okay, okay, okay. Then for San Fran, for them to give him up, you know, just get a fifth round pick, you would just assume like my age they just wanted that money Yes the books going forward the biggest question for San Fran is the health of Christian McCaffrey if he's healthy He makes that all all going was that a band rock? Oh, yeah, so they're about to pay Brock So 17 and a half million dollars off the table is good news. Yeah, because he wasn't drafted high He's never had real money He's actually been living with a roommate and almost going into debt living in San Francisco As the starting quarterback of the 49ers in the time that we're in the NFL with how much money quarterbacks are making
Starting point is 02:18:33 Brock was making nothing. He actually did a couple John Deere commercials That might have supplemented maybe a car for him or a truck for him to get to work. He had a suitcase I think he carried around with him and they had those shit kickers in those jeans Yeah, that's basically all he owned, you know, you see number the last overall pick in the draft So this is just like when Russell Wilson was up for his first time It's like hometown discounts like I've been given that yeah big discounts Yeah discounts and you guys were able to do a lot of things because of it and it's like getting Brock Birdie's deal done now is better than getting it done later
Starting point is 02:19:06 because maybe another quarterback gets done and the price bumps up another 10 million. These quarterback contracts are absurd. And it's like Brock Birdie should be above everybody. 55. That just got paid. Isn't Dak getting 60? Is somebody getting 60? Yeah, Dak is.
Starting point is 02:19:21 Yeah, you're getting more to Dak. He deserves more than Dak. Definitely. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, hey you know what 45 million dollars a year is a lot of money no way no way I just want to go to 65 I'll sit on but 60 I'll say you know what he'll give up 5 million for Trent Wittman. Will Brock Burney be a guy? Because of his humiliation and I'm not saying don't do it Brock. Obviously there's gonna be a lot of people saying take as much as you can get Brock but will Brock sit there with John Lynch and he'll say, you know what? I do want us to build up around me. I want to win these games.
Starting point is 02:20:10 Give me 47 and a half million a year. Yeah, I'm leaving potentially 13 million on the table if he was to go somewhere else. You say Dak deserves more than him. It's like, I understand that Dak's been a great quarterback. He's done a lot of magical things. He's like Brock already just gets dropped in a league. Has won. That is literally what he has done. It's the system, understand that Dax been a great quarterback, he's done a lot of magical things. It's like Brock Purdy just gets dropped in a league, has won, that is literally what he has done.
Starting point is 02:20:27 It's the system, it's the people, it's okay, whatever the case is, some team, if they heard Brock Purdy was available, with how young he is and how much success he has, there's some team, imagine Kevin O'Connell with Brock Purdy, like, they're not gonna pay somebody 60 million a year, but I'm just saying, there would be somebody that'd be like, no, we can pay him.
Starting point is 02:20:44 I'm not saying he deserves more than anybody. I'm not saying look you you get what you can get You know what I mean? When it's your time to go and the salary cap jumped up to what this year? 279.2. Yeah, so if he can get that that much for sure But that was already coming off of a huge contract and he was getting another one. So this is to be his first big payday Um, so yeah, and obviously, you know john lynch and everybody's gonna play those of a huge contract and he was getting another one. So this would be his first big payday. So yeah, and obviously, John Lynch and everybody are gonna play those games about building a team and do you wanna be a winner
Starting point is 02:21:10 and all those kinds of conversations. You gotta strike while the iron is hot. He's done nothing but phenomenal things while I've been a starting quarterback at NFL. So I hope he definitely does get more than that can reset that market. He does strike me as that kind of guy though. Like I don't think he's gonna- What kind of guy? that kind of guy though. Like I don't think he's gonna.
Starting point is 02:21:25 What kind of guy? Like as a guy who like, I don't think he's gonna go in there and be like, hey, I want 61 million. I want it. But that's how this works. Right. That is literally how this works in this quarterback market. It's like, who was the last signed person?
Starting point is 02:21:36 Okay, am I worthy of being the next guy? Yes. Okay, I'm getting more than the previous guy. That's just how the quarterback deals have literally gone. Even with people who are not worthy, they have somehow deemed them worthy and they get more than the previous guy. That's just how the quarterback deals have literally gone. Even with people who are not worthy, they have somehow deemed them worthy and they get more than the previous high. It's like Dax at 60.
Starting point is 02:21:51 So if Brock's agent is agenting, which I assume. I don't know who his agent is, but I could just see if they come in and just, you know, start at 55. Boom, good enough with me. Yep. Let's do it. 52 and a half million, shit. That's a lot of money. Right. I'm good.
Starting point is 02:22:07 I could take 62 now. You know that. Make sure we do good with this 10 million. Whatever the case, we hope Brock Purdy gets paid immensely. John Lynch spoke at the combine about Iuke as well and having to get younger. The reason why you have to get younger is because you're paying a quarterback. You see, this is the game. Young quarterback, not a lot lot of money So you can pay a lot of other people once quarterback becomes through one contract now quarterback eating up Oh out of your money that you had being sent out to other positions So now you got to get younger because the younger guys are Cheaper speaking of cheap the Bengals are able to keep T Higgins for another year at a cheaper rate than what he was hoping for or expecting. He has officially been franchise tagged by the Cincinnati Bengals. Sad. 26.2 million franchise tagged for T. Higgins second year in a row. This second straight year with the Bengals have used it on
Starting point is 02:22:57 T. Higgins. Remember last year he got franchise tagged and we saw a vlog from he and I believe his mom even tweeted and he was like I'm gonna be professional They tagged me. There's a lot of money. I'm gonna show up and do my thing He did then we thought maybe he was gonna hit the open market The open market would have been very good to T Higgins Certified number one and everybody's eyes hasn't been able to unless tomorrow chase hasn't been on the field doesn't matter Who's in the field or who's at quarterback or who's doing what T Higgins has done a? Fantastic job for the Cincinnati Bengals and
Starting point is 02:23:25 has been a consummate pro in their locker room. I think from all the videos we've seen he has been loved by the boys which is a big deal especially at the wide receiver position. There are teams that would have been willing to pay him a lot of money including the New England Patriots as Boston Connor literally just sighed because their franchise tag but this means absolutely nothing. Franchise tag can be traded, no deal has been done, and T Higgins hasn't signed a franchise tag. So what this means is Cincinnati Bengals want to keep T Higgins in their world. Will that end up being the case whenever the season starts out? TBD, AJ Hawk. TBD. And we hear their front office talk about,
Starting point is 02:24:01 hey, you can't keep everybody, right? We've got these stars. It's a great problem to have, but we've got to find a way to pay these guys and keep them happy. We got Trey Henderson, Jamar, that they're going to have to figure this whole situation out and I would imagine T at, yeah, I mean, 26.2, that's a great number for one year, but he knows like, hey, I want some job security after that as well. Yeah, this is exactly what Schefter told us because I did say and I am pissed off about it, but then I immediately thought, oh, Schefter told us last week did saw and I am pissed off about it But then I immediately thought oh Schefter told us last week at the combine
Starting point is 02:24:27 This was kind of always the plan was that he would get tagged in that if he is going to get traded it would be a post Franchise tag so that they can get some sort of you know compensation in return for it now Who knows what that is you would assume would be at least a second and another pick after that But I mean, it's just a barber for D Higgins, man. I want that guy to get paid 30 plus million dollars. There's some rule, amen. We think he's earned it. And obviously that's a wide receiver market currently.
Starting point is 02:24:53 That's a lot of money. 26 point, whatever is a lot of money as well. Long term compensation is what he's thinking about because you can get hurt in the blink of an eye in this world, especially in football as a whole. The trade clause thing after you get franchise tagged, we looked into it when Lamar Jackson was going through his thing and we thought that the NFL rules stated like it had to be at least two ones or something like that. Turns out that's not real from what we've heard.
Starting point is 02:25:17 Like that is very negotiable. Like teams can trade anything basically for a player as if he was on the roster. So we will continue to like try to get answers on that whole thing because if you franchise that guy that just extends your rights of him through free agency basically so now for those picks that has to be like it's like an offer sheet like T would have to sign that and then the bangles would have to be like okay yeah go ahead take him we'll take your ones or whatever but they could just work out a trade without him having
Starting point is 02:25:46 the sign. Yeah, it's all a negotiate. Everything's still just a very much an open negotiation for T Higgins as a Cincinnati Bengal. Yeah. If we look up the Titans, a Jerry Snead con contractor trades negotiation, he got tagged and then traded last year to the Titans from the chiefs. And T just tweeted the words tag T A G with the period.
Starting point is 02:26:04 So I don't know if he's happy about it or he was just breaking his own. I think he's probably breaking his own. Oh no, that's like tag, you're it. It's a good movie too, tag by the way. Great movie. Remember we marked that movie. That was great. True story. And it was actually great. It was a great movie. It was a great movie. Didn't win any awards I see. No it didn't. Too enjoyable. So T Higgins franchise tag, what are your thoughts? I mean to to everybody's point, I would love to see him hit the open market and get paid. He is in a very, very, very good situation for a wide receiver, being with one of the best quarterbacks in the league, being on the other side of the Jamar chase, who's getting a lot of those same coverages that Justin Jefferson was talking about, a lot of double teams and triple teams coming off a triple crown year. And you know, a lot of people say, you know, certified one, if he goes to another team, he's a one.
Starting point is 02:26:46 You always, I'm always kind of in a boat where I got to see that to believe it, but talent wise, he definitely has all the tools. He has a height, he has a strength, has a play speed, has the hands. I would love to see him get his just due on the open market, but it looks like he's either going here for a year, hopefully gets traded, get paid somewhere,
Starting point is 02:27:02 or has Mike Brown already said there's no long-term Contract happening in Cincinnati. No, I don't think so. They've been very open Ideally was the word that everybody was using at the combine when they were speaking at press conferences Hey, you're gonna be able to get a deal done Ideally we'd be able to get a deal ideally we'll be able to get it done Ideally everything is is in play. I think everybody was saying that, not just the Browns or the Bengals, I'm sorry. But it's like, ideally is a situation
Starting point is 02:27:28 that doesn't deal with reality. You're not going to be able to get everything done. I think that is kind of the convo. Yeah. Duke Tobin said he wanted to get a long-term deal done with him and also make Jamar the highest paid non-quarterback in the league. Ideally.
Starting point is 02:27:42 That's tough. That ain't happening. And ideally, what's the hat? He said, that's cap. That's what T said. That's what happening. And he didn't even say fuck it's Cap. And ideally, what's that? He said that's Cap. That's what T said. That's what T said? Yeah, that's Cap. Cap.
Starting point is 02:27:50 Cap it up. Cap it up. And then Schaeffer comes on our show and he goes, I recently learned what the Cap means, basically means he's, and we cut him off, bullshit. He goes, it's crazy that this is the, yeah, but this is real world. That is the player communicating with the world their opinions
Starting point is 02:28:06 Just so happens to be Straight up happen though. Yeah, dummy ass cap. This is a part of being successful. It's not easy Niners going through it Bangles going through obviously the Indianapolis Colts. You're gonna go through it here in a few years few years decades 2040 gonna be a brutal year. Yeah, be a tough offseason Few years, bro. It's gonna happen. I hear you man. We got a lot coming. This year? Are the Colts Colts looking at Aaron you think? I don't know. I've thought about that. I got a lot of people in my mentions obviously saying like don't even **** think about it. Like Colts fans. Not
Starting point is 02:28:38 all Colts fans are necessarily happy with me you know cuz everything that happened which I respect once again. Hey there's a lot of people angry at me at all times. I think there's more that agree with you than... I agree with that notion, but there was a lot of people like, we don't need to do the whole super veteran quarterback song and dance again. We've done it a lot. Sure.
Starting point is 02:28:59 We've done it a lot. I mean, you don't want to be going into year three with your quarterback, you drive the top five saying it's sentence gonna be an open competition I know it sucks for Chris not ideal Would you rather have Rogers or would you rather they bring in fucking Dan Jones? Yeah, I read the list of people that were allegedly reported to be in the open competition with Anthony Richardson. Mm-hmm Flabbergasted by it all Persec could come back competition with Anthony Richardson. Pretty flabbergasted by it all. Dan Jones to be honest. Frank Carlback.
Starting point is 02:29:26 Jacobi Brissette could come back. He could be in it. He was good for New England. Daniel Jones. Fields. Justin Fields potentially. Russ. Maybe.
Starting point is 02:29:36 I didn't see Russ' name in there, but maybe Russ in there. I didn't see Aaron or Kirk or anything like that. But I'm excited for the open competition. Everybody's going to get better. What have we got Sam Darnal okay. Yeah, okay with stiken. We're one play away to get two years ago Not this past season the season before Carter Mitchell made to a pro bowl. Mm-hmm. We had one drop ball We're the AFC South champs everything that the Houston Texans didn't play us. Remember miraculous run this Houston, Texas
Starting point is 02:30:03 That was supposed to be us home playoff game in the suite worth the money couple plays away Steelers just traded their first round a Quarterback after two years and they got a six or seventh for it. So you get that for AR ideally That's not how it goes either. You know that guy's a Super Bowl champion now Yeah, man took that play he ended the Super Bowl. Yeah Oh, yeah, man took a graph. Yeah, please. He ended the Super Bowl. Yeah Congrats Kenny bacon Proud of you Kenny. He may be trade a art of Cleveland for the third pick. He could second pick Who says no? They did it to you. Remember and everything fleece to you guys
Starting point is 02:30:39 Who Cleveland? Yeah, I don't fleeces got some body back for a rich. Yeah Yeah, we all long bows a judge. Trent Richards. Yeah. Yeah. We all, Olambo's a good guy. We don't need to be doing that. I like Trent Richards. Yeah. Well me too. But we just did something. No, he's a great guy. He just wasn't. He didn't want to end up working out. Wasn't great for Colts.
Starting point is 02:30:53 Wasn't great for us. I was so. He's told that story. Trey, when it happened. Dude, remember Jim Ursay? It was the third pick of the year before. Jim Ursay was posting earth shattering news coming to the Indianapolis Colts. It's crazy.
Starting point is 02:31:08 Yeah, it was earth shattering, they raised the taxes. That was earth shattering. Ursay did that? Yeah. What are you talking about? You know exactly what I'm talking about. I didn't know he had that power. Well, there was a point, I guess, where his room,
Starting point is 02:31:19 before I got here, before they had this new stadium, Lucas Oil, that maybe the Colts leave, you know? Maybe the Colts leave and go somewhere else. St. Louis. No, I don't think st. Louis st. Louis It did happen. I'm saying now but LA was the place that was like Maybe the Colts go to LA. It was like floating a Colts then allegedly there was like a potential helicopter that flew and site surveyed which I am very familiar with sure site doing site surveys no doubt then you just have to do one yeah yeah the NFL is making it really easy for us to do stuff it's very kind of them it's very cool it's very cool I'm very appreciative of the opportunity to showcase your shit in the
Starting point is 02:31:58 manner no like red tape no no hoops you gotta jump through no middle management's doing exactly what they don't normally do. They're making it easy It's awesome. Those people matter for sure. You guys are really good at your jobs. Yes, really good at your jobs Thank God they're there without them. Could you imagine nobody would watch? No, nobody watching if it wasn't for these people being there Yeah, there's me measuring just make sure there's enough space in a stadium for our show to be yeah I even checked out up top, up in the 300 levels. Can we fit in here if we had to?
Starting point is 02:32:26 Can we dims? Just to make sure there's enough space. And this is the entire concourse, just trying to get it, just to see if there's enough space in a stadium. All the dims, all the dims. Yeah, just trying to make, just to see if we have enough space
Starting point is 02:32:38 in a stadium for us to be. Thank you. We were invited by you guys to do this. Thank you, by people above you to do this. But thank you, thank you, thank you so much for making everything so easy. With that being said, we will be doing the Draft Spectacular live from the Thunderdale this year. Much warmer. Yeah, it is. It'll be live from the Thunderdale. It's great. It's great. Wanted to get a Green Bay. have a lot of ties to green bay. The person joining us might have like A very massive tie to green bay, but not in the cards not in the cards also not in the cards. Thank you to
Starting point is 02:33:18 This level I think yeah, I don't even know maybe even one more Right here of the nfl. It's great. These people are awesome Very appreciative. I understand we got guard shield shield too. You got to do it. I mean, we get invited to do stuff and then, you know, I have to do the, it's a, it's a, this is really my, this is when I'm in my best, you know, whenever these things are happening. Sure. You know, just.
Starting point is 02:33:37 Can assume we are fucking off for the league meetings this year as well. Yeah, I don't think we want to, we will be covering league meetings from the third. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Thank you for the invite to the people that invited us there up here, so thank you to For that it's good. It's great. It's great. It's great league. Very lucky to be a part of it play play part of it Oh, yeah, very very lucky and thank God for those people. I mean Life my film. Holy shit those people. I mean, what? I'm doing with them. Lifeblood.
Starting point is 02:34:03 Holy shit. Yeah, you're right. Holy hell. When they walk into that office too, they probably turn on that light. They look in the mirror. It's because of me. Let me sit down. Who's day can I ruin? And then they just go about doing it. Classic
Starting point is 02:34:19 middle management. It's great. They're great. Still burning. Thank God for that. Yeah, still doing it. Still doing it. I think that's all potentially We'll leave it that okay, yeah, let's get to a break Hey Joe, will you hit up Aaron, please? Yeah, I mean is he in country do we know you tell that we're saying figure it out. That's what we're trying to figure it out Yeah, try to figure it out I might get him to try to get him to a life 360
Starting point is 02:34:48 Ever seen that people can like track their kids see where your kids are at. Yeah, maybe I'll try to get him to do that I don't think I fully understand what you're so what is it's like an app where you can an app like your family if they Have phones you could see where they're at. So, you know, like where your children might like And done that already on phones people have location trackers and shit on people Yeah, but it's just it Hold on. Don't it done that already on phones? People have location trackers and shit on people. Sure. Yeah. You can find my, yeah, but it's just a, it puts it on one place. Makes it easy. Some people put microchips in their kids. Micropros. They have them swallow it or they inject it into their arm.
Starting point is 02:35:21 What? Then you travel. Who's doing that? Plenty of people in our world right now. Oh yeah. Maybe that's a movie at Justin Timberlake movie where he's got that clock in time Yeah, you're real I have to watch that I was gonna pick it I Want her shoe, but yeah, I'm too many goddamn sure what's that buddy? I was gonna put an air tag in my daughter's shoe, but she's too many goddamn shoes So yeah, I guess one of you hear those horror stories of kids just getting picked up and stuff like that They track them down backpack
Starting point is 02:35:46 Get her a backpack. A cool backpack. Backpacks are cool. Those are cool accessories. Yeah. I think I'm gonna go to the chip wrap. Maybe get a good Jansport. Don't go that route.
Starting point is 02:35:58 Yeah. Tony's gonna go home and perform surgery. Inject the chip. Why not? I just don't, that feels a lot. That feels like a lot. That feels weird. It does.
Starting point is 02:36:07 I'd sleep better at night. Hey, do you have that stalking tracking machine you're just talking about right there? Nope, I do not. That is not my thing exactly. I think, man, are people actually microchipping kids? Frank sounded very confident when he was saying it back. Would I say it if I didn't?
Starting point is 02:36:21 Yes. Yes. Yes. Well, you would allude, you would narrative build. Remember? Like he is done with these AIs and everything? He would say like the worst possible outcome to build a narrative potential. Hasn't lied yet. The AI.
Starting point is 02:36:35 Google says Nick's. Google says Nick's lied. Really? See, this is worst possible scenario. He's looking at the Google AI summary. No, I'm not. No, I'm not. I don't know who's right. It's neither feasible nor ethical. There's currently no technology that allows for a
Starting point is 02:36:50 micro trip to actively track a person's location real-time. So once again this is Nick narrative building. Hey this is the worst possible outcome. It's gonna get there. This is what you were doing Nick without even knowing it. This is what you were doing. We do it to dogs they're doing it to kids. You can't do it to your dog. You can't chip your dog. I think you're like kind of happy you have some yes Yeah, half the chip your dog in some places so you find your dog But that doesn't mean no time track them isn't if they if the vet finds them they can scan them and see if they're Chipped right and get their info. Yeah. Yeah, sure. They can't track them. Sure. I know if you adopt a dog
Starting point is 02:37:22 They are all chipped. I know I don't like being tracked I know adults have them to they use them with keys to their houses. We're all being what the dog No, just microchips in their arm. Come on. That is not happening 100% birds hundreds you just hundred percent of this other one. Okay, make this one a thousand then a thousand People walking up like their arm with a key fob. Oh, yeah. Okay charge it here Scanning it at the gas station. That'd be sweet. I want some big league gum there. Let me guess The Apple watch yeah, but they're saying he's a skin Age how'd you get on on off the ship? How often did you get on off the ship? Don't you have a little you have a wristband right scan John scan job?
Starting point is 02:38:03 No, you have a little key card that you carry you can get on off no no microchip or anything How come people yeah, how come people don't do that key cards not good enough We got to do the microchip and when I went on vacation I wore a wristband that got you in and out of your room and paid for stuff. It was sweet pretty nice Yeah, you wore that everywhere. Yeah, do you feel like you were like their mark? I didn't think about it. It's game my wristband How is that tan? did you get a tan on your wrist i don't think so the wristband probably has a little camera and a microphone in it yeah did you watch it and wristband it yeah okay on top of each other yeah good play i mean changes
Starting point is 02:38:38 the way you look completely sure but everyone everyone was doing it yeah and easy convenience nick did it too easy convenience i Nick did it, too. Easy convenience. I love you through Nick on the bus. Hey, guy in the back. Nick did it. Nick did it. I didn't wear mine the whole time though. I took it off.
Starting point is 02:38:51 I mean, that makes life a lot easier at those resorts. No doubt. Boom, bang, pow. How you doing? But for life, I don't know if we're doing that. Not yet. But you're tracked everywhere anyways. No matter where you walk, you're on camera.
Starting point is 02:39:01 Yep. That's a fact. That's why I learned from Dayline. I mean your phone. Phones are tracking everything. Yeah, but I never turned on Siri, so. True. Yeah. So.
Starting point is 02:39:12 Believe me, I'm with you. I do not like Siri at all. Have you ever heard of, man, I'm going to sound like an artifact here. Talk to text, I believe is what it is. Have you heard of this? Yeah I've seen people do that. Yeah I've always wanted to do it. I just never really tried.
Starting point is 02:39:29 So I didn't know the entirety of what it was able to do. This thing's awesome. This thing is very... Straight. Yeah. I watched my wife piece together a conversation with a lady who did not speak our language in talk to text. Oh yeah. it was some of the most insane shit I've ever seen in my life and I was like what is this she's like it's his button down
Starting point is 02:39:52 over corner I didn't have it because I haven't turned on a mic front that turns here anything I turn on the microphone down being hey how you doing not that it wasn't happening before now I just know about it that little thing down the lower right corner whenever your keyboard pops up, you touch that thing and just, ba-da-da-da-da-da, peep-peep-peep-peep, space,
Starting point is 02:40:10 ba-da-da-da-da-da, it's just, so I'm not a texter and driver, I'll use that if I need to send a text message. No, that's what I do now. Yeah, it's outstanding. Yeah, and Foxy is not really a C-in driver either. Yeah, that's why. Yeah, I gotta be focused.
Starting point is 02:40:27 That does not know if you're allowed on road. Aren't you blind? Isn't he blind? Not legally. Okay. I doctor every year. You need to fix those. Those things are dangerous.
Starting point is 02:40:37 What's your dims on your vision? Bad. I don't know what they are, but they're bad. He's probably like 21, 10 legitimately. It is. I was gonna. He just see you to see like shapes. legitimately it is I was he just see you see like shapes What does he see can he see you know so if it's dark out, and it's raining, and there's lights. I can't see anything This is it right. This is it right here. Yes
Starting point is 02:40:55 That's foxy drop I'm sitting fucking shotgun with this guy. Yeah, so if it's a really dark night out too, it's brutal I accidentally had a few booze. Okay, accidentally Happen upon a couple of fellas boys. How we doing wanna want a shot? Absolutely want a beer? Sure I'm gonna turn that down. What a night. I already another one. Absolutely. Ray Mysterio. Maybe comes over tequila. Absolutely So I'm a little bit I should not be driving. Okay, even though I I like driving I enjoy driving. I think it's the only way you can really Like expect I mean once the two different FBOs
Starting point is 02:41:32 I don't even want to get into it this weekend just the drivers are a thing if you start a driving company right now You might be This might be the best time to do it drivers arevers are horrendous. They are. To get that guy from San Antonio, I forget his name. Phenomenal, took us down the back roads. It was incredible. He was a guy. Yeah, he's a dog. He was a guy and also knew ball too
Starting point is 02:41:53 and waited till after the ride to do the entire thing. Anyways, I like doing the driving because I don't like getting lost in random cities. I don't like sitting in the right lane when the left lane's wide open. I don't like, you know, there's a lot. I don't enjoy that. I just think are bad driving So I'll just drive fuck it. I'll drive yeah, but then whenever you just start it all starts happening It's like I shouldn't drive it can't I feel pretty boost up Foxy you drive. I'll drive sure
Starting point is 02:42:18 It's good skis. Yeah, we go outside. It's obviously dark It's a little bit rain a little bit of drizzle I had no idea that meant like We fuck Stevie Wonder's driving. I had no idea. Yeah. Yeah, we're turning in the wrong lanes. We're almost hitting fucking poles whole thing dude, like you know the lane that's like You turn in an intersection very bright the intersection was the worst part because there's so many lights It was too bright and there was so much rain and it was like oh no he can't see anything we almost turned right into the fucking turning light of the other side you know the people that are turning the US right into them it's like yo yo yo yo and I'm
Starting point is 02:42:53 I'm boosted up so I'm already I can barely and then the rain is happening to me too and it's like I don't know for going in the right lane there so now drunk guys like whoa On a sitting shotgun. And I don't know what's worse. So then I'm like, Foxy, is everything okay? Lock it up! And he goes, I can't see. Whatever's raining in the lights, it's worth fucking.
Starting point is 02:43:14 There's a rental car too. Got us there. Geez. Got us there. Boy. Boy. I showed up. By the time we got to the plane, I was fucking completely sober.
Starting point is 02:43:24 I was like, all right, fuck, get me home, dude. Is the driver, excuse me, pilot, can you fucking see out there? A little rainy out here. I'll get LASIK at some point. OK, and you let me know when that is. I'll hop right back in that car with you. I'll be your shotgun rider, Foxy. They say I'm a prime candidate for it.
Starting point is 02:43:40 Sounds like it. Yeah, you can't see. That makes you a prime candidate. I think you need that to happen sooner than later and also Reagan stop Don't get in there Okay, it's only a matter of time with this guy. It rains a lot. It rains all the time Gets dark every night, too Every single night true except for Alaska right They got that 24 hours a day.
Starting point is 02:44:05 That's where Foxy needs to live. Yep. Well, next week's actually the start of daylight savings time. Yeah! A lot better. That's awesome. Oh, we're doing it. It's the last one, right?
Starting point is 02:44:15 I saw Foxy leave about last year. Yeah, I don't think that happened. Yeah. That was executive order. Last one. Oh, yeah. That mail management gets a hold of it. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:44:24 And then lo and behold, this is what happens. We're turning the clock back once again and we don't see a sun for a long time. I do like catching up with people and telling them what life is like out here. It's like, I think it's getting warm. I think it's getting warm. It was like 59 degrees one day.
Starting point is 02:44:41 Then I get up to Canada, negative six degrees Celsius. Ooh. Freezing cold. Land in Detroit for customs. 59 degrees one day, then I get up to Canada, negative six degrees Celsius. Freezing cold. Land in Detroit for customs. The guy that did it, cool guy. Great gray hair, like. Hell yeah. Perfect.
Starting point is 02:44:54 He was so cold, so damn cold. I guess he got really cold again. It was cold. Yeah, it was cold this weekend. Yeah, this is the last third. Are we done with that? Yeah, are we done with that? No, no.
Starting point is 02:45:04 This is the last third. Brutal winter. Brutal? This is the worst it's been. Yeah. Cold, snowy. That's six weeks. We got six weeks left? Six, seven I'd say. Where are you Punxsutawney Phil? No, it's just usually always after the draft is when it really is like, okay we are at nice weather time. Last year the draft Detroit was a lot colder than I think. Oh, yeah, it got you. They were warm, too Damn shame. We're not gonna be there. I'm We get that magician back League meetings were in
Starting point is 02:45:39 Would have been nice. We're not getting Gallagher rest in peace by the way. I think he died what Michael Malone? Nice. We're not getting Gallagher. Rest in peace, by the way. I think he died. What? Michael Malone. How? No way. Gallagher. Oh, Gallagher. Yeah, he did. His twin brother, though, was stealing his routine, so he might be around still.
Starting point is 02:45:50 His gimmick. Yeah. I thought Matthew Mike died by swallowing his needles. You're talking about the... Michael Malone. Might have been a bullet instead. I hope he's okay. He would be a guy that would be able to do it. Later after watching him. He can't swallow a bullet. I think he would be a guy that would be able to do it.
Starting point is 02:46:05 Later after watching him. I think he would be a guy that would be able to do it. All right, we're back tomorrow. He was really good. He was doing a lot of work. Right here, right here. I love that guy. Collapsed his lungs from fucking punching himself.
Starting point is 02:46:17 Get the nails down. I was so uncomfortable. I was so uncomfortable. Just like whenever Kevin Owens is saying, he's doing what they're doing to each other. I was uncomfortable two tables two tables Kevin Owens is
Starting point is 02:46:30 Stabbed it was he patting and crying for when Randy Orton came out. I didn't see that A lot of people are talking about that. I think potentially pretty emotional, you know after a fight He and his ex-best friend just had share loves ain't in Toronto But if you would have seen Randy Orton might brought brought tears to your eyes too I don't know if a human's been put together like that it was almost like art I assume Kevin Owens is like holy shit look at this man yeah he's got a way 280 no no all right No, no, all right Don't he had a good burn on Kevin Owens in the the group chat
Starting point is 02:47:17 Great oh this guy Hey, you try to break my neck, huh? Okay. Good to see you. He says chewing gum looking super cool always he's done Kevin What are you talking about? He just beat Sammy Zane Where's he crying? I'll see it's quite for it. Wait for it. It's kind of like Like that no, he's overcome with emotion. He just got done with a fight in Toronto. Oh boohoo fucking WWE superstar Please are those an unsanctioned match. It wasn't a WWE match. This ring made me into a monster. He's ready to fight. He's ready to fight him.
Starting point is 02:48:02 He's tired. He's exhausted. He had a banger against Rhodes at the rumble too, he's been fucking through it Yeah, Kevin Owens is on fire right now I'd say, yeah Randy though let's, I mean the fuck is wrong with that guy How do you have
Starting point is 02:48:18 a massive right hand from KO Why me and Randy fresh out of Rio Nope, throw him RKO! Oh, why me? Nope throw them And they delivered our ko to the entire population of a town in Canada as they came up one by one That was a bad idea by security if I remember this right I think security's about to get in there Or was it right when he was about to you got Pete down here here, the Canadian Destroyer founder watching along, he can't stop anything Thamel?
Starting point is 02:48:47 No, uh, what is Pete's last name? We should look that up He created the Canadian Destroyer like Maybe the best move Pete Dunn? Butch? Artist formerly known as Butch? Pete Dunn's not doing Canadian Destroyers
Starting point is 02:49:02 He should be Let's get through a break. We'll be back tomorrow Petey Williams fuck I'm sorry Petey Williams I go up to him every day and just ask him how many destroyers are in the show tonight We get 30 destroyers tonight or what I watch a match On Instagram showed up on the explore page These dudes did 16 explorer destroyers to each other. It's like most devastating move of all time It's a obviously a back-flipping pile driver. Basically that happens most devastating move
Starting point is 02:49:34 You could basically come up with these dudes are just doing 16 of them back and forth back and forth back forth It's like Petey sorry the move is uh, I'm really as devastating as we want It's like Petey sorry the move is not really as devastating as we want. But the Mexican destroyer penta hits. That's game set match. Yeah. Into the sacrifice the arm. Got action tonight in Buffalo. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 02:49:56 It's gonna be a good one. Can't wait. We're on the road to WrestleMania. Boom. Yeah, you just showed me a clip of maybe one of the first destroyers. It's on TNA. I don't know if we can show that I legitimately don't know the relationship Thank you. Yeah, Adam Cole hit me with the Panama sunrise Which is the Panama destroyer to beat me in our match down there next day
Starting point is 02:50:20 I tell you what that came out of nowhere. I didn't know what to expect and all of a sudden I'm upside down I'm on my and then one two three. It's like Hold on. Oh, is this over? Yeah, it's over fuck should I kick that? Bullshit, that's fucking Canadian destroyer which goes back. Once again, a lot of good things came from Canada. We appreciate it Maple syrup pretty good. Hockey's pretty good. Mooses are great. They didn't start. Mooses are great.
Starting point is 02:50:50 They didn't start hockey, right? They didn't start hockey? They had to have started hockey, right? Did you guys start hockey? Yeah. Lacrosse as well? Really? It was the natives. It was from that area? Yeah. Oh, okay. Let's see. Poutine? Sure. Sure. That weird ice cream gump likes. Tiger
Starting point is 02:51:08 Taz. Tiger, Tiger. Creamu. Yeah, that was Creamu. Smith Creamu up there. Stoner. credit stoner and sid. Mark Stone. And Mario Lemieux and Wayne Oll. Paul Bissonnette the guy that fought ten Irish gypsies Brad Marsh on Brad Marsh and the cases like the PK so bad they created salary standard time okay oh what's that nobody we're just rolling around with the Sun they created no it No, it's like the E S like the S T. Oh, they said we need to separate this whole thing. They created daylight and the wonder bra was Ben Franklin. The wonder bra. The what?
Starting point is 02:51:53 The wonder bra. What did that do special? Made wonder wonders. It did wonders. That's what they say. That's why they put in there. Just like boy wondered a boy blunder said Sean McVeigh It was the blunder brah, and then they brought in the wonder brah
Starting point is 02:52:11 And that's what Canada has done. We appreciate Canada for all those great things. Thank you. That's why we're not here. Oh kinda My first reaction is brr Cuz there's been a lot of good a good people are good things no matter what is happening politically so whenever oh Say bros your first reaction is a little bit of a can hold the fuck on Starbucks is across the street Okay, you're at WWE show, please Got a lot of good things. What it why is the first?
Starting point is 02:52:43 Then they said look at it. It's like, Eric, I'm looking at every political stance of every country before they play a national anthem, before a sport were happening. I don't know. Is that the move? I guess. I appreciate you guys' passion for your country, though. I do appreciate it.
Starting point is 02:52:57 I respect it. A lot more than I thought. I didn't know that that type of... They were coming after me. They were coming after me pretty good. Canadians were coming after me pretty good. Canadians were coming after me pretty good. The Americans were standing by my side though. Always.
Starting point is 02:53:08 Oh yeah. When's the next time we're doing a four nations thing? That shit was. Yeah, great. Probably two years. Got the Olympics coming up, we need to win that. Yeah. Got to. Then I need to put Russia in four nations.
Starting point is 02:53:18 Yes, and then it'd be five nations. Yeah, relegate whoever comes in most. Who was last this year? Sweden, I believe See ya Swedes are good though. They said it was a one-off because the injuries They're worried that if you if we continue to make it something that the good boys will care about they'll get like that's almost conversation It's happening NBA people are like we had no injuries coming because nobody really cares about this The NHL is like our guy our boys care too much about this. This is uh We can't be having to care We gotta get something care, but not too much about this. This is uh, we can we can't be having to care
Starting point is 02:53:50 Macrovoid we gotta get something they care but not too much about you know, like sid the last all-star game He took a vacation out montana or whatever instead of going to the all-star thing and he showed up at the game And they were like sid's too good for that and then as soon as this was announced, he's like I'll play for conan put the c on my chest. I will play for Canada. He went into it hurt too. Yeah and then they put up his resume. He's 46 and three as a Canadian international hockey player. I don't know how that works. He should be playing for America. He lives in Pittsburgh.
Starting point is 02:54:15 So Canada also created the garbage bag which makes sense. Let's get to a break. We'll be back tomorrow. Thank you for that creation. That's a big deal, Age. They didn't create that. A lot of like the plastic garbage bag. Mm-hmm. Yeah We've refined it made it better better bingo Well, I mean we can talk about a lot of things that they created them
Starting point is 02:54:34 Maybe we did the one that stretches over so it sits under can you know, so that the top is elastic? Yeah, and we did the one that has smell That's the best glass we did the one that has smell already on it. Yeah, the scent. The smell. That's the best. Glass art. I'd say we did that for sure. Without a doubt. They created the paint roller as well, which obviously. Obviously.
Starting point is 02:54:52 We all knew that. That's actually a picture of Gump's father's father's father. That would actually be me if I was still in the shipyard right now, to be honest. That is a Gumpy lad painting out there. Look at the cap on the, on the old painter. We appreciate, Kehla. Nice looking too.
Starting point is 02:55:11 But also let's relax with the, it was big to town. It was so cold. I bet. So cold. I was going to walk. I didn't bring a jacket, obviously. Sure. What you saw on TV is what I wore and what I wore home no bags coming in do show
Starting point is 02:55:28 Gotta go no other options. Okay Sometimes you got a burned bridge behind you. There's nowhere else to retreat. This is all I'm bringing. This is all I got So now I'm sitting in traffic 45 minutes to an hour in Toronto because they shut down The road going into the city from where I was coming from one lane go this way then they stop and then coming out of the city they go so this is like a sixth lane into like a actual half of a lane so it's quite a gridlock if you will I was like fucking I'll walk I open that door I take four steps there was a breeze I get back in that car. I go, we're gonna be here a while, huh? He goes, yes sir, in his language with his accent or whatever.
Starting point is 02:56:13 And I just sat there and just took it in. French? Huh? French? I think so. I think it was French. I think, I don't know, it was tough. I was trying to communicate. I'm in the same car as a guy for an hour. I tried to talk to him four or five different times. There was tough. I was trying to communicate. I'm in the same car as a guy for an hour. Yeah. I tried to talk to him four or five different times. There was nothing. I mean, I'm just, I'm in there alone. You know, I'm in there absolutely alone.
