Here we go the Pat McAfee show. I'm AJ Hawke sitting in for Pat. He'll be joining us from London, England the 02 Arena I believe.
Sports! Have been amazing Pat what's going on you this is awesome actually we can
review strictly this is you are like what ringside ready to go tonight
obviously Netflix London England how's it going over there man? Hey life is good AJ
thank you for taking the trip to Indianapolis to host alongside the boys and Obviously Netflix, London, England. How's it going over there, man? Hey, life is good AJ.
Thank you for taking the trip to Indianapolis to host alongside the boys.
And obviously it's a great group over there in the Thunderdome.
But let me let you know something.
This trip to London that I've had over the last 24, 48 hours has been nothing short of spectacular.
I got a chance to enjoy the sights, you know.
Have some booze away with the locals.
You know, Wade Barrett, who is a part of the commentary team on SmackDown, formerly Bad
News Barrett in the WWE from England.
His team, Preston Northend, was in the FA Cup, I believe quarterfinal.
They were taking on a squad and yeah, we boozed a little bit and watched that game yesterday.
Then we went on a pub crawl myself, Michael Cole, Wade Barrett.
We want time to time. There's Winston Churchill right there.
Let me tell you, he is a, uh, a revered gentleman over here. Okay.
He obviously did his thing. We went to a couple of small pubs.
This right here is James's pub. His mom, Suzanne started it in 1980.
He's now the governor of the pub. He lives upstairs. It's old school.
They gave me a Sunday roast of beef. I ate that thing you know probably gallons of beer we drank yesterday all around London a lot
of a lot of lads were met and that right there is actually the laboratory that
sets the world's time that that building right there I didn't want to walk all
the way up the hill I didn't I didn't find it that fascinating but I took a
picture of it from afar that is where where you know, the world's time starts
So I got a chance to see the town a little bit Wade Barrett and Stu is his name was walking us around him
Yeah, I mean it was a wonderful day. It was like 65 degrees clear skies in the middle of March
I got a little sunburn in London in March. Yes
I might be the whitest of whites to have that particular stat, but it was a good time yesterday
And now Preston North and Wade soccer team. They're not good. Okay. Well yesterday they were at least they lost 3-0
But the game before guess what they did AJ. What's that? They beat Burnley three nothing
Give up any goals this year. I thought yeah, we'll gave up three to press the north end. We're the one and only north end
that's the chance I heard and any goals this year I thought. Yeah, we gave up three to press the North End. We're the one and only North End.
That's the chance I heard and enjoyed.
But yeah, it's been awesome over here in London.
Now we're in the O2 arena.
We got Monday Night Raw coming up here
in a couple of hours.
Obviously London time five hours ahead.
So normally starts at eight o'clock Eastern on Netflix.
Today will be three o'clock Eastern
then obviously running full time.
And it's an honor to be over here,
especially with how big of a day we have today. Wrap sheet is gonna be joining here in a matter of moments coach John Shire from the Duke
Blue Devils will be joining us in about 35 minutes or so and then you know for the rest of the program
We're gonna be talking about all things happening around sports. I know it's not just you over there though
AJ it sounds like there's a great group of lads over there
There's a bunch of lad of lads over there is that the the toxic table? Do I hear is Boston Connor back in the thunder dome?
Yeah, back in the sand. I knew you were in London. So I, you know, we're the team USA
hockey jerseys. Something the Brits can't do play hockey. Another thing they can do
probably eat food. I assume you eat some terrible beans and mash or fish and chips or some bullshit
that they serve over there. But yeah, it's gonna be back man
I'm excited for for Ron London. It was a great weekend of basketball as well. It's awesome. I will tell you this
You walk into some of these places because the fish and chips thing
You do walk right into a pit of ass. I mean it's smell
Yeah, and some of these and they're all like kind of tight, you know
I don't think anything is smelled worse than a pub bathroom like a couple you walk in there
It's as if somebody is shitting in your face whenever you walk it because it's real tight. They're real tight spaces
You know, it's all real close quarters in there and I was as American as possible
I had a backwards hat on obviously at the Air Force's I
People were nice to me here. I did not expect it
I did not expect is the people to be as kind as they were to me, big dumb American.
But I will say, yeah, they can't play hockey.
Yeah, they can't.
Okay, they can't play hockey.
And it's coming home.
We all know what that means.
Soccer is coming to the United States of America at some point.
We're going to be good.
But on that note, sports did happen all weekend.
I saw sitting next to you, Conman, I don't know if you saw Ty Schmitz wearing a Yankee sweatshirt what's that all about you guys are using
astrophysicists that cheat the rest of the league you cheat the sport it's like
Barry Bonds Mark McGuire Sammy Sosa level stuff why isn't everybody using these
torpedo bats hitting dong shot after dong shot after dong shot oh we had eight
homers in one game Oh Aaron judges it for him I guess he's not using it cuz he doesn't need it
But what are we doing with these bats and why isn't everybody doing this tie? This seems like a genius move genius move
That is an excellent question Pat. I don't know why everyone isn't doing it
You mentioned at the Yankees basically a couple years ago
He doesn't work for the team still but they hired an MIT physicist and basically said like hey listen
We can spend all this money like the Dodgers are doing, or you could basically just invent a new baseball
bat that hasn't been done in like 200 plus years. So, you know, you move a little bit
of the wood around, move more of it into the barrel. So some of these guys who maybe aren't
as good as hitters, uh, as Aaron judges, they can get around on the baseball and they can
hit home runs. And you know, it kind of just feels like everything is right in the baseball world
Everyone hates the Yankees again. Everyone's saying that they cheat, you know, it's not so much the Dodgers anymore
They come out they hit 15 dingers over the first three games beat the shit out of the Brewers every single game
And all is right in the world now and now you got a bunch of teams and agents reaching out
Everybody's doing this right time. Like well, didn't you assume every team's going to have
these bats? Multiple teams had guys who were using it, but no one, no one
obviously was as successful as the Yankees were. But yeah, I would imagine
that by today or this week, every team in the majors will have a couple of
these torpedo bats on the way. I listened to Jazz Chisholm, the guy that just
jacked one right there, talk about it a little bit and he was just like yeah they said it's good that yeah and I love
it. I would I guess the the more research I did on it and I read on it I'm not a great reader everybody
understands that but I guess like the maximum amount of weight and the maximum amount of girth
that you're allowed to have basically they just reshaped where that is and it's like if this has
been laying out there forever,
the Yankees figuring it out and this physicist figuring it out.
I think that's good on you.
You know, it's got a nine year NFL vet, obviously, host of everything.
DB, good, D, bad, D, Darius, we're not baseball players at all.
D, butch. But whenever you're doing something that's been available
for everybody else to do, I got no problems with that.
I think it's next level thinking, don't you?
Yeah. Now we know that the NFL is a copycat league
I don't follow the MLB as much, but I would assume they're gonna be a copycat league as well, right?
Yeah, without a doubt. Okay, that's gonna be doing this. Can I see that back real quick?
I know you're explaining it
But you said Aaron Judge isn't using it because of how good of a hitter he is. Where exactly are they putting the wood?
So they're moving it basically from like the yeah maybe like the handle
or other parts of it into like more like around like the barrel or like up a little bit above
the barrel like around the the kind of like signature there because like one of the guys
they're talking about Anthony Volpe he gets jammed a bunch so they moved some of like the the sweet
spot up there a little bit so he can get around on it and he's catching more barrels.
Is it the engraving though?
Is it where the wording is and where they have the little engraving?
That's changed as well though.
Yeah, I think that's-
Is that the biggest part?
Is it the mass moving?
Is it not having those engravings right in the sweet spot or what?
Yeah, I mean look, it's moving the sweet spot of the bat around.
They get more wood on the ball.
Exactly.
They're just moving the wood around.
They're moving the wasted wood.
Okay, they kind of dodged the bats. They took the wasted wood
and moved it to where a more prevalent part of the bat would be. If I'm reading it accurately, Ty, right?
No, yeah. Yeah, that is correct. They basically, yeah, because they're, like you said,
there are certain parameters in which the bat has to be and they're within, you know, like the rule book,
but they just, there's nothing that says you can't kind of move the wood around to get it to a
point in the bat where people are hitting more balls and that's what they
did. That's Jazz Chisholm there? Yes. Okay so he's been talking about it right
and that's the most defined looking photo of the bat that I've seen I think
out of all the photos and nobody ever hits it off the tip of the bat so
that's normally where it gets bigger right normally just kind of like funnels out. Yep. So you never hit it off the tip if you do it's not going anywhere
so them deciding to just
Push that thing down a little bit like out of sausage is made, you know
And then I kind of bottle it in there that feels like genius. Are they gonna ban this how long until they banned this?
I don't know if they'll ban it because it is one of those things
I mean, it's kind of it's kind of like the tush push almost. Like there were other
teams that were using it this weekend and you know I mean when the Yankees do
it or like if the Dodgers would have done it like more people are gonna see
about it and obviously they hit nine homers in a game so it kind of you know
it puts a lot more attention on it but if other teams are available to use this
like the guy doesn't work the guy who invented this doesn't work for the Yankees anymore he works for the
Marlins and there were some people that yeah there were some people that use it
last year as well so we'll see I think maybe if it if it gets a little bit too
much like if the Yankees are scoring you know 20 runs every single game with this
going on I could see them maybe you know doing something but this certainly I
mean this is a good thing for baseball. You know, they hit 15
home runs in three games. Like it's making the product more entertaining.
On that note, we all love Dinger baseball back when everybody was just eating steroids.
We all remember it. And that was when it was at its finest. So if this torpedo bat is going
to help out with that as the pitching only gets better and better, which seemingly has
been the case over the last couple of. I'm all in I love it
Whenever you know greats try to be innovative now hembo sent me some stats here
The Yankees have hit 15 home runs, which is tied most all-time by any team through three games
They tied who Evan Fox Detroit Tigers
which year
2006
Nailed it the Yankees have a point oh eight for slugging percentage in a 1.231 OPS
What's that? Very good on base plus slugging
Okay, both highest by any team through three games all time. Okay, these torpedo bats most all time of slugging percentage on base
Aaron judge thus far obviously first 27 games. He had four home runs. That was last year
He finished with 58 20 25 first three games. He had four home runs that was last year he finished with 58. 2025 first three games he has four home runs so you know he had a cold
playoffs and he said why would I change anything with how good I did it's like
well maybe we drop that torpedo in there for Aaron Judge in the playoffs
and we start seeing how things go. Baseball had a fantastic weekend that
was great we'll talk about college hoops obviously here in a matter of moments as
we have coach Shire joining us from Duke you know White Mike is what they're
calling him when he's growing up in Illinois to go play hoops a little bit
Can't wait to ask him about that and many other things the NFL is having quite a weekend
Let's go to one half of the hammer
Cowboys AP tone
What are the odds on how many rules are getting actually changed out these owners meetings tone because he just mentioned it there the tush bush
That one feels like that one's gonna get overturned that one feels like it's gonna get banned
I don't I don't love it. I'm not gonna say that I am a proponent of that getting banned
But I believe the tushbush that one feels like it's on its way out
You know that you already heard it being chatted about in a couple a couple of these reports
But football talks talking about it
Schefters talking about it a lot of people are talking about it how people in the competition committee
I guess it got a little bit a Little bit tense in there
I guess there were some people that weren't necessarily thrilled with the thought of banning this entire thing
Especially because one team is better at it than all the other teams
But they did mention the precedent of the special teams
Pushing from the tight or from the linebackers on the D tackles for field goal blocks
It just feels like everybody doesn't want to say publicly that they want it to be gone because they're all football guys and somebody's innovative and
I forget who said it. Somebody said it this morning in their meeting about like maybe
Bean I don't know. Anytime somebody creates a play or Sean McDermott anytime somebody's
innovative with the sport you never want to punish them for it but it does feel as if
there is a lingering kind of it feels like they they're gonna get rid of this particular play.
Tony, is that an accurate reading from what you're getting?
And how many of these you think actually get passed
at this owner's meetings down here?
Yeah, I feel like that's an accurate reading
from everything that's coming out.
Obviously you're starting to get the insight.
I'm not saying it should be.
Correct.
I'm just saying like, feels like everybody
that's in the room where it happens is like,
I don't wanna say this publicly
because I'm a football guy, but come on we got 900 pounds worth of
dudes pushing people like this can't one team's able to do it nobody else is
able to do it and then the Eagles are like so that's on us and it's like I'm
not saying that it should be banned I'm just saying it feels like there is a
ground support a swell happening behind the scenes, like an underground type
of convo about not wanting it in the game. Feels like it, just from reading from the
outside in, I'm in London, but that's just reading the tea leaves and the crumpets, if
you will.
No, I think you are, you are reading the tea leaves and the crumpets very well because,
you know, the insiders are now coming out and reporting that there's a groundswell for this
to be banned. And once that starts happening happening it feels like that's normally something that does
Happen like because if they're getting that info from somewhere and I would assume it's the league and
And once that info starts coming out and they they get those votes that they want you can assume that push push is potentially no
More the other rules that I think are probably gonna get past the regular season
Overtime matching the playoff overtime that just makes sense like we talked about that
There's no reason for those not to match the moving the kickoff touchback to the 35 that also feels like there's a groundswell because
Going from as we talked about the 25 to the 30 wasn't a big enough penalty for the touchback in that situation
More replay assist that makes sense. I mean, there's no reason not we've talked about it many many times if we can just have
The replay assistant, you know voice down and say hey you had it wrong
Let's just move it to here move to there
That seems like it the two that are I don't see the defense of holding an illegal contact not resulting in a first down
Like that's because we know these DB's. Yep, third and 15. They're just gonna tackle guys
There's no reason not to I don't see that one getting past it
But the most interesting one I think that is up in there is the wild-card seating whether you know a 14 and 3 Minnesota Vikings
Would have to travel to LA if that game was in LA in that situation like is that going to happen where the higher
Seated or the better win percentage team will have to go to the division winner as an away game
That one is interesting. I got no idea if that one's was gonna pass i don't even have a feeling on that one
it's not a debuts i think uh... tom brings up a good point there about defense of holding an illegal contact you guys will gain the shit out of that one so that's gonna feel tough to change but also wild card seeding with how successful the playoffs have been thus far i don't see him touched it what. I don't see him touching the defensive holding illegal contact one because it is an offensive rule
And I can't remember the last time they made a significant change to help the defense
I've say like selling tickets. They like scoring touchdowns first downs quarterbacks. We know how that goes our replay assist
That sounds great. We had the conversation last year
I feel like every few years a conversation where it's a team who like the Vikings last year 13 14 games
They have to go on the road
But I kind of I guess maybe old school in this mind frame of winning your division means something
You know winning that division getting that home playoff game. That's a big deal
So I would be hopeful that they leave that one as is
Hey, what do you think age? What are you?
I wonder if there's a possibility that none of these pass.
Is there, could they come out of here with nothing?
They get nothing done?
Because the tush push situation that I think you're right.
It feels like that thing will get banned.
I don't think it should be banned.
I feel like it.
Was McDermott against the tush push?
Because I know the bills would be the second most successful.
I know, we ran it.
They were unbelievable at it.
Yeah, until Mattermo. Yeah until the play until matter most
Feels like there's some
Yeah, well you know they're testing out the old speakers over here
You know to let me tell you eat is sounding fat. It's just me loose, you know, it uh
It's been quite a time
but you're right about the amount of rules that actually get changed and like
Normally we talk about the NFL is like a big slow-moving ship where they kind of like set like little seeds in place
and then
You know, I mean it is the speakers are great here in the 02. There's a
There's a residency that happens here. It's got 21 nights at the 02 and they have
like awards in the back. I guess Prince's photo is like in the front of it. He has like
this silhouette. So I guess there's only a certain amount of artists that have done 21
nights here that claim residency here. This is an awesome arena. Hey, all these, they're
much, I don't know if they get used as much or don't get used as much whatever it is
Everything is so clean brand new like you know I mean like everything is
That's not because I home or what's that?
But yeah, does any team is there a sport played there or is it just concerts and also in everything?
Yeah, cuz they don't have a lot of indoor sport you're right. Yeah, any Lee ass over there
So maybe that's why they're all so nice like they're also like all the seats are like brand new
you know like it looks it looks very good but with that being said all these
rules have had seeds in place for a few years you know all these things have
kind of started yeah like the tush push granted that one's brand new but I think
they were talking about it last year trying to ban it yeah the postseason
overtime stuff seeds right since the 13 seconds
Touch back to 35 while they moved it to 30 so seeds there. They did that one replay assist
They started doing more towards the end of the season without telling anybody seeds
They're in that one and then the defensive holding an illegal contact wild-card seeing those are basically the two that we've never
Really seen them
Kind of try to navigate so I think that's potentially why we have a doubt in it con man
What are your thoughts on it all brother?
I mean, I think moving the kickoff would be the one that would actually change
the game damn near the most because I mean, how many was the increase in
plays that we already had last year was, you know, astronomical.
And then if you're thinking about moving that thing to the 35,
does that completely change the hey, we're just kicking the ball out of the back of
the end zone because I feel like it might just because you know you mentioned it moving the ball from the 25 to the
35 yards okay you know fine but now moving that thing to the 35 you really are two first downs
away from a field goal so it feels like that would kind of create a lot more things we saw you know
the Cowboys so their season last year obviously didn't go great But some of their best moments came from turpent, you know against the commanders that that
Kick return touchdown against the Browns
He had the punt return, but it does feel like moving the kickoff touch back to the 35 would actually then lead to
You know kind of having to aim for that landing zone because in the Super Bowl the biggest game of the year
We didn't see one kick return you know and I do feel like if they if that ball
was coming out to the 35 that that would kind of actually change the entire thing
so I think that would be the best rule to change then the other ones you know
it's just kind of is what it is. Speaking of you know the Super Bowl and
everything like there's gonna be times where teams decide to just blast it out and give the
Ball to the 35 like if the other offense is not doing great defense doing well
We'll just give it to him on 35
But just giving up forfeiting a first down all of a sudden and the percentage of scoring
I think teams will land it in the landing zone a person who might have a little bit more information on all this is
A guy who is down at the meeting ladies and gentlemen senior
Insider for NFL Network, which is that gonna be owned by ESPN soon a lot of rumblings ladies and
gentlemen Ian Rappaport what's going on guys you look super cool bro
appreciate it my Kentucky Derby suit from last year got to repurpose it for
these events I think it really fits in kind of with this atmosphere. I gotta say
gotten some compliments
Got a lot of compliments
Really? What happened? Why are you look tall?
Interestingly nobody has said that I saw I saw Capoli by the way. Yeah
The world's talkable. Yeah, can you post that photo of Kaboli sitting next to Mike Tomlin?
One of the most important press conferences that's happening at the owners meeting is
Mike Tomlin speaking about Aaron Rodgers and all anybody can talk about is how damn good
Mark Kaboli was.
Wow.
I don't know when you guys picked up this press conference.
Yeah, God, that's sort of...
You know, there's an account that takes sports pictures and turns them
into art. You know, it's like art, but make it sports or
something like they got to do this picture. They got to do
this. To be clear, to be clear, Kaboli was there early. Okay. He
represents the program. Well, he got a front row seat,
literally think about how many people are trying to get to the
spot that he got to. And instead, it's just Kaboli,
baby, what his cell phone, I'm gonna record this for myself and he's so focused that it's gonna
appear as if he's actually snoozing sleeping drooling wow Mike Tomlin speaking and that's
that's so different do you know he made he made Tomlin laugh so hard today he made Tomlin
almost spit out his drinks and yes at the end yeah he was just looking at the candy is it
about the candy where he says I heard me and DK McCaff have you seen candy
yeah yeah roll it we have the same appetite with candy me and DK here but No, I didn't apparently he's full of five candy bears a day
Tom has always locked in for those two. He's always given incredible clips. Let's start there He talked about Aaron Rogers Rodgers about how there's a process of the offseason. You know, we're trying to
construct the team. You do it through a free agency. If you can't get through a free agency,
go through the draft. Obviously, Aaron Rodgers allegedly, he was broken on NFL Network this
morning on Good Morning Football, I believe by one of your Paisano friends, that Aaron
Rodgers had a throwing session this past weekend with DK Metcalf at UCLA. Now, was DK at UCLA
at the same time Aaron was at UCLA and they just so happen to throw to each other or was this
Something that was organized and set up. What are you kind of reading through this all Ian?
Especially down there boots on the ground with a used suit that everybody seemingly likes
Only used once lightly used I think is the proper term. It's not yeah. Okay. Anyway, yeah
Yeah, it's still it still looks amazing
This was not a coincidence.
This was not like, you know, Matthew Stafford running into Brady at Yellowstone.
This was a planned throwing session.
Sounds like it went very well.
From my understanding, it was lengthy.
It was, you know, Rogers has this process, I think it's probably not as fast as many
people would like.
This is what he needs.
It might be his last stop, probably is his last stop,
needs to make sure it's right.
If that includes throwing with the newly acquired
star receiver for the team, okay.
It sounded like, first of all, it wasn't exactly a secret.
There were several other players,
some rookies were trading kind of around,
like it wasn't much of a secret,
but it was a UCLA.
It did go well.
It was, you know, part of the process for Rogers to say, all right, maybe
this is my eventual destination.
And it seems to me, um, unless the Vikings do a complete about face from
what they've said publicly, that would be his only spot.
Um, so it feels like a matter of time, but as you probably know, getting in the head of
Aaron Rodgers and trying to figure out what he's up to is difficult.
So I will sort of wait till it gets firm and final, but that's just my general feel on
it.
Ian, is there a chance, like, is there a deadline?
Like, is there a certain date where something has to happen one way or the other here?
So the Steelers, and I think this is a little bit why there's a lot of reasons Mike Tom was like the best.
He really does respect the players, whether his future players or his current players, he respects their process.
He respects their sort of their desires.
And it's obvious Rodgers wants time.
So they haven't said to him, like, all right, we need an answer by March 31st or whatever.
And he would be like, do you though?
Like, you know, there's no actual deadline anyway.
The draft is really the next time where things get real
because if you're the Steelers and you have Mason Rudolph,
who I think they would be okay entering the season with,
obviously you'd like Aaron Rodgers,
but I think they'd be okay with Mason.
If it's not Rodgers, they might draft someone.
And obviously you would need to know by the draft.
So that's kind of the only real deadline.
And like we've seen this before when he was going to the Jets.
It was the Tuesday of draft week, right?
If I remember correctly, when the deal got done, like I don't know when Rogers is going to decide
or when he's going to make his announcement or whatever it ends up being.
But if you told me it was draft week, like I wouldn't be that
shocked because that's the only time it actually sort of an answer needs to be given.
Everybody's saying it's potentially going down on April 9 at big night.
That's what everybody really I don't know that though. I don't everybody's saying that
have you talked to the person who's running it?
Yeah, I have I have every day I talk to that person I'm sick in the though. I don't know. Everybody's saying that. Have you talked to the person who's running it? Yeah, I have.
I have.
Every day I talk to that person.
I'm sick of it.
In the mirror.
I'm going to be honest.
I've been talking to him for 37 years.
I'm about to tell that guy.
But yeah, that person has not heard anything about that.
And that person also very intrigued about how it all works out, especially because, I
mean, the city of Pittsburgh, they got a team.
They got a team they got a team
Always have a team if you get a hall of fame quarterback over there
I know some yens are gonna be kind of cold to start but they were probably cold to start on Russell Wilson
You know depending upon what the deal is for Aaron if he was to go there and allegedly the contract
Has already been decided by the Pittsburgh Steelers and Aaron Rodgers for most yeah
So whenever that number is announced whatever it is, we assume we might be wrong unless you know
That is gonna be a low number not that big of wrong unless you know that is gonna be a low number
Not that big of a number. It's not gonna be a gigantic number and
I think Yenzer's will be like, alright, let's go on a run here. Let's see what the hell we can have and then maybe they
Still draft a quarterback in that whole thing. Okay, let's go down to Florida where you are at. Do you know the number?
Do you know the number? Yeah, you act like you know, I don't know but I was told
manageable like I think you're I believe what you are saying
that it'll be something where no one's gonna be like 58,
you know, like it's not gonna be like that.
Manageable.
Yeah, or 40.
I don't think it's gonna be any,
I think it's gonna be,
once again, I've not talked to any of the parties
involved in weeks.
AJ, AJ might know actually, AJ.
Rock.
Numbers wise, I was gonna ask Ian, what's the range?
Like what could he sign for?
What did Florio say?
Florio said 60 years.
What did Shultz say?
Well he said, get me a latte,
or I'll slap you in the mouth.
They know what he said.
My god.
Yeah, what's the range?
As far as what the actual number is, just to be honest, I do not know. And I don't know. Um, yeah, what's the range? The, as far as what the actual number is, I just, to be honest, I do not know.
Um, and I don't think they're there yet where they could say like, all right, it's
deals agreed to just waiting on Rod.
And I think there's still some things that need to be finalized, but I would agree
with you guys, like I'd be a little like you, Pat, you were saying, it seemed like
you were saying might be under 40.
Like I think that's probably right.
Uh, because there is a history of.
Veteran quarterbacks signing either with their own teams or with new teams
kind of last year of their career or maybe second
or whatever it ends up being,
understanding like I've made a lot of money,
the number doesn't have to be the most
because you wanna build the team around them.
So that's kind of what I expect.
Aaron Rodgers has actually made the most.
Just, I don't wanna be pocket watching here but uh NFL money is all very publicly broadcasted. Aaron has
been the most successful whenever it comes to cash and uh obviously that is a good thing especially
if you're somebody that gives back philanthropists of the year in California. Thank you Aaron.
Thank you for your service. Nice job. Let's go. Okay so let's get to let's you were never
philanthropist of the year in any of the states that you live in your absolute
Remember that one. I got about Aaron. Not yet. Not yet
Yeah, you're right booze bag. Maybe some of the cities
Okay, I was with a couple professional booze bags yesterday's you would have loved it. Have you ever done a London booze bag tour?
No, I need to I need to get over I mean This is my wheelhouse. I saw on your social media. You were hanging out in London now, how many pints? What's like a good number?
I don't know. I I drink what we drink
No, I was having like the local one that they had at each place so each place had like their own thing
Is that man the people? Yep. Well, I just I'm never gonna get to try it again
So when I was there, I was like I might as well give it a go and they have these bitter beers
There's like a bitter beer and I really thought a bitter beer face. Yeah, exactly. It was not like that at all
We're talking water. Those things were
See, yeah, it was really and I did I did put on a show a couple times with the guzzling abilities
Yeah, you know always with the guzzling. Okay, let's move to
The owner's meeting shall we because you have information that we do not have and we need information Show a couple times with the guzzling abilities, you know always with the guzzling. Okay, let's move to the owners meeting
Shall we cuz you have information that we do not have there need information and to be clear
we have a guest in ten minutes that we need to talk to that is
Not LeBron but I mean a huge
Twice as tall as you. Thank you
That's a really high bar LeBron stuff was great. I thought that was awesome
Thank you. That was very tiny fascinating
I believe is what you texted me in the middle of it. You weren't the only one
Okay, so my hem best at say that the Eagles since
2022 are 108 of 124 whenever it comes to tush pushes, which is
87% of the time now it used to be above 90. I think was 92%
That's why the new White podcast is 92%ers
because that was when Jason Kelsey was in there.
Obviously he's a masterpiece of it all.
I am reading the tea and crumpet leaves
from afar here in London.
It feels as if there is a little bit of a groundswell
from NFL people to ban this play.
Is that accurate?
But nobody wants to come out publicly and say,
cause they all want to be known as football guys.
Well, some of the Packers people have come out publicly, Brian Budakens just did
media. I talked to him afterward. He has come out publicly and said, essentially, this is
first of all, let me say this. I don't know that it's getting bad. But I do feel kind
of like you're saying the groundswell may be rewriting it. So like, is it going to go
away? I don't know. But rewriting it would make some
sense. And I think what they're nervous about is like the NFL, NFL officials have said very publicly,
there's not enough injury data to see if it's something that like long term could be a play
that's sort of like an injury filled play. But what they're nervous about is some catastrophic
injury to like an offensive line and the center is probably most at risk and then you and then you react and say then ban it so i think they're trying to get ahead
of it and say how can we make it just a little bit safer eliminated i don't know but i do feel
the groundswell vocal let's try to make this a little bit safer before anything goes i mean
like one pusher like what does that mean maybe or uh i'm not 100 sure? Like one pusher? Like what does that mean? Maybe or I'm not 100% sure I'm one pusher might make sense or
maybe one push. Like maybe that would be a way to do it like
we just stop.
That'll be easy.
Sometimes all you need to in football. We know that is all you need. It's all I need. True. In football.
We know that is all you got too.
But when you think about football.
In football.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, but we're never talking about officiating this.
We're putting more judgment calls now into the refs' hands.
I don't know if that's good play.
I'll be in on it.
I know.
This is the challenge, man.
Them starting to mention the precedent of the field goal block team not being able to
push years ago and then now it feels like there's a chance this thing gets banned who knows let's move some other conversations
D bud has a question for you rap. Yeah down in Florida
With the Dolphins Tyreek Hill kind of stirring the pot a little bit as he usually does on the internet
Think somebody may have tweeted. Hey, who is that process that player most likely betrayed on draft night somebody said Tyreek Hill
I think he quoted it
Are you hearing anything with real decision makers as far as Tyreek Hill possibly moving this offseason or at
any point from the Dolphins?
First of all, I haven't. And I think he, you know, he does speak a lot on social media.
He does sort of have his say and, and I think this is good because you sort of want people to be able to speak
their mind on social media, right? I think that's okay. I have not heard her talking
points there. Wait, wait, or read your talk. I think this is no, I mean, I just in general,
like what, what I don't want to do is sort of like, players should have the ability to
speak their minds. Like even if it annoys teams, they should have this ability. I have not heard
that he was going to be traded. He also is recovering from wrist surgery. So trading some,
same thing with the Brandon Iuke sort of trade rumors or whatever you'd even call it.
You know, rarely do teams trade for people who are not fully healthy. So I think that would be
complicated. I think trading for his contract will be complicated. Could the Dolphins get enough where it would be worth it?
I don't know, I don't think so.
So I don't see a ton here except that probably we'll get him some reach.
Fossocona's got something for you Ian.
Yeah, Rapsheet, another situation going on actually here in Indianapolis.
Dan Jones and AR are officially splitting QB1 reps.
Is this going to be a true, you know,
quarterback competition, someone's got to win. Is there no one with, you know, kind
of a leg up? I think most people would assume Anthony Richardson would have
that. What are you kind of hearing with that situation? Yeah, I talked to Steichen
about this change, Steichen about this today, basically said splitting reps 50
50, they've been told, they've been informed how it's gonna go and it's gonna be a storyline every day and I
Hope that that is really the case because the only thing that really matters for the Colts is the best quarter of actuallys like
You've already drafted Anthony Richardson. You're ready game a big signing bonus as an early first round pick
He's already had two years Daniel Jones got the money
He got it gets 14 million, whatever it ends up being.
Money's been paid.
The draft picks have been made.
The only thing that matters is who is the best quarterback for the Colts.
And so I hope it's fair.
I hope it's real.
And like you guys have been in locker rooms, not all of you, but a lot of you
guys have been in locker rooms.
Um, the players generally know the players generally sort of the side.
And I think at the end of camp, it will be obvious.
And I think that's will be the coach quarterback.
The highlights were showing there of him with the Patriots.
If he plays like that, he's unstoppable.
Yeah, that was the final drive.
I mean, the Patriots and it was Anthony Richardson playing his best football that he's ever played
for us.
And obviously there's moments of magic there where Anthony Richardson is the only one that can do some of the stuff
that he does. Hopefully he's able to figure it out this year. Hopefully he's
able to stay healthy and if he can't beat Daniel Jones out, Daniel Jones fresh
into a brand new offensive system, brand new building. I think that is obviously
a situation that he'll have to learn from going forward. There is a world
where Anthony Richardson doesn't win this quarterback competition. I'm not saying that that's gonna happen but there is a world where Anthony Richardson doesn't win
this quarterback competition. I'm not saying that that's going to happen, but there is.
Let's say it doesn't work out with the Colts. He's going to go to another team and be so
great. Yeah. You know, cause it would be like a, I've thought about that this weekend while
I was traveling. I'm like, Anthony Richardson is going to win a quarterback competition against
Daniel Jones. You would assume. And then you would assume this off season without loud,
everything's been ourselves included that he would like be
Like okay, I got a lock in very young buddy. Like okay to be a professional quarterback
There's a lot that goes to it
Like hopefully now it is kind of something it all buys into and then I thought to myself
Well, what if Daniel Jones wins like clearly and they decide to move on from Anthony Richardson
It's like well, there's the moment then that'll tell him that he needs to lock in and be a pro and it's like then he'll go
Somewhere else and become a hall of Famer. So whatever the a lock in and be a pro and it's like then he'll go somewhere else and become a whole thing so
where the case is good luck and i hope it's with us i do i i hope it's with the
indianapolis culture you can use their rap sheet again some news what's going
on
i'd just texture my wife
i'll answer this
so we said a lot of guys when your horse best this weekend
uh... jude uh... was the only one who won. Of course. Hey Jude.
That's a big English thing, isn't it?
Ty has a question for you.
I think so.
Yeah, rap sheet.
I know you mentioned it about like the Vikings and JJ McCarthy, but they haven't officially
said he's the guy even though everyone is very excited about him.
Are they going to keep doing this will they won't they with
Rogers because they haven't officially shut the door on that or at some point soon here
are we going to get confirmation that like no we're going with JJ McCarthy and we think
he's going to be our guy because obviously KOC has spoken glowingly about him as well.
Yeah and KOC was just on with my buddy Pelicero on Nelford Network. I think he posted either the video or the comments. I think it was pretty strong that JJ is the guy. But even if they
don't come out and say it, like, we know. And I think, like, yes, I think they'd like him to earn
it. But I think it will probably happen. It sounded like last year, early part of training
get before the injury, he was really impressive anyway. So like, I know some people have
sort of said like, maybe Aaron Rodgers there, like, anything's
possible. I would never rule anything out in the world. But
it feels like JJ, for sure to me, JJ to JJ. And hearing the
comments of Vikings people today and this week seems to
emphasize that even more. Okay last question here from AP Tone.
Yeah Rapsheet let's stick with the quarterbacks it was reported that the Ravens are in early talks
with an extension for Lamar Jackson does that have anything to do with Josh Allen's contract
getting torn up and him getting a new deal or is it I saw he's a big cap hit coming up this next
season or is it yeah Lamar Mars earned this obviously and deserves extension
I think it has more to do with the cap hit than with Josh Allen
But like Josh Allen getting it now he got a great deal for him because basically what they did was they ripped up his own
Deal not they didn't just extend it tack on some money. They kind of started new which you never see teams do
But I think that sort of sets a
do. But I think that sort of sets a little bit of the benchmark of where Lamar might be. So Josh Allen comes in at 55, maybe Lamar is a little bit over that because generally the next guy is a
little bit higher. But I think yeah, it has to do with if they're going to do something to lower his
cap it which I know they would like to do. You know, he's your guy, you have no doubt he deserves
everything. A pay raise makes sense, a new contract makes sense, and
I could see it getting better. Absolutely.
Last question from me before we let you go enjoy that Florida weather while you're wearing
a Kentucky Derby suit again. The vote that can happen tomorrow, how many of these will
pass? We got a graphic here, basically everything we know of being proposed. How many of these
end up passing? Tush push? Yes. I'm going to vote for myself here tush push well yes over time yes touchback 30 let me just
roll through here tush push yes right regular season ot yes touch back to the 35 yes defensive
holding an illegal contact we all discussed we don't think that's going to get passed replay
assist we think it will wild card seating we don't think it will well get passed replay assist. We think it will wild card seating. We don't think it will Well, these I'll be voting on tomorrow. And what are your thoughts on the outcome?
Tush pushes tomorrow unless they say you know what let's reconsider it may at Minnesota meetings, which might happen
regular season OT
That seems like a pretty good
We'll see
I don't know if all some of these might be today
But I think the bulk of them is probably tomorrow.
And I think what you're looking at, I mean, replay assist, like I feel pretty strongly
that's like we've already seen a lot of that in play.
Yeah.
Have we not like so I think that's probably an easy one.
Wild card seating, I'd be surprised about just because that seems like such a drastic
change.
I think we'll get a couple of
these but to me like the tush push ban is probably generating
the most conversation. Usually when there's a lot of
conversation, they want to have more conversation. So maybe we
do end up talking about this in May.
Okay.
Sticking a pin in it will circle back. Not a bad idea. I guess
the NFL has done that before. We appreciate the hell out of you
brother.
All right. Thank you guys. Enjoy those pints. I guess the NFL has done that before we appreciate the hell out of you, brother All right. Thank you guys Pat. Enjoy those pints. I will be
Obviously not doing any pine tree came down here, of course, but I'll be there in spirit
I did all the pints yesterday that I could handle. I think I'm good on pints for a while
I mean it was a lot of pine. Those things get heavy, you know, and then the squirt obviously I've heard
Yeah, you've heard obviously never experience ladies and then the squirts obviously. I've heard. I've heard. Ladies and gentlemen, yeah, you've heard, obviously.
Never experienced.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Interim Rappaport.
Hey, guys.
Hey.
It was a lot of pints, dude.
Really?
Like Ireland?
Ireland type?
Or at Bittersby?
Not as many as Ireland, not as many.
Ireland was just such a sprint.
You know, that was a, that one went real fast.
This one was like, started at one o'clock in the afternoon
and then went till about 10 o'clock at night.
And then it was just like, kind of just bouncing around place to place along the Thames River which I
guess has a lot of history. I guess there's a lot of history and it was high tide yesterday so some
water came up up on the up on the sidewalk thing it was uh I had to represent though you know like
I had to represent that's how I always feel in these situations like especially with the way the
world is now without America's being viewed you know I always feel like I had to represent that's how I always feel in these situations Like especially with the way the world is now without America's being viewed, you know, I always feel like I gotta represent
So I'll take your local one. Okay, and I'll take whatever you all are doing
I'll do it as well and I will go to the next one, you know in good spirits in good spirits
Is it Michael? I would like I would imagine Michael Cole was a great American, you know
Partner when it comes to something like that represent if you're boozing
Michael Cole was boozing. Yeah, but Michael Cole is older, you know, so there was a time where thinner grumpy
Cole grumpy Cole came out he was you know, we were sitting in his one beer garden and I looked at Michael Cole and
We had both basically had enough. Yeah, we both we both basically been we've been through it, you know, and
I looked over coal and he
did like this because he had some pouches in or whatever and he did this bit into the
rocks and he still had a little bit on his lip.
And he did the whole who cares.
We've probably done enough here. We've probably done enough here.
We've probably done enough here.
Then we tried to drive back to where we were staying.
And you know, they got roundabouts everywhere and they go the wrong direction.
So you can get clipped pretty quick, you know, if you don't watch and the people driving
by you, you forget that the passengers actually on the left side drivers on the right.
So it's like kind of weird.
Like you see like a 12 year old sitting in the passenger seat and it's like, is that
person driving?
And then, you know, it comes up seat and it's like is that person driving and then you know comes up and
Then it's on the other side. So but where we were driving to was like 10 15 minute drive
But they shut down two of these roundabouts and I'll tell you what you shut down two roundabouts
You're not getting about anywhere and
We had to walk that thing. So we did like a two mile hike last night at the end of this whole thing
So it was a good time. Everything's been great.
I really enjoyed the weather was nice.
The people were nice.
The pints were good.
Some better than others, certainly.
But yeah, it's been a lot of fun.
And tonight's show should be why gets today's show for you guys back stateside should be
absolutely absurd.
Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now is a man who's a national champion as a Hooper for
Duke.
Guess what he's doing now, AJ?
I think he's on the path to another one, Pat.
Isn't he? As a coach at his alma mater.
There's only been three times in the history of college hoops
where somebody's won a national championship
and then guided their team back to at least a final four
as the head coach.
Ladies and gentlemen, out of Duke,
white Mike, Coach John Shire.
Hey Coach! How are you? Coach, ladies and gentlemen, out of Duke, white Mike, Coach John Shire. Yeah, coach!
How are you?
I'm doing great.
Well, I feel like I've arrived at McAfee show
with all you guys.
I feel like I've arrived.
So thank you.
You're in the final four, okay?
You have arrived.
Okay, so let's just make sure that is understood.
Not on here has anything to do with that,
but congrats, coach.
Obviously we just read off your accolades.
And before we get to the team,
and I'm sure the boys will have some,
you know, call it troops question and this team question.
For me, I just wanna go back to the white Mike story.
This is how I was introduced to you.
Okay, I just wanna let you know that.
I was introduced to your greatness via story
being told about how, yeah, John will come down
into Chicago and there'll be people that'll be walking
to go watch this dude, white Mike.
And then obviously you had some time in the league
You get injured everything goes and you become a coach but growing up you were the guy is
National champion at Duke whenever you think about that perspective
How much has that helped you in either recruiting or in coaching or how do you how much you lean on?
Being that dude that you were for so long now in your coaching world coach
Well, you know what pet I think the biggest thing for me is,
I had to get outside my environment growing up.
And so anywhere there was a game in Chicago, I don't care where it was,
I would go and I think the biggest product I found was having to
find your own footing, for me it was just showing my game.
And so I'll go everywhere and play. Uh, there's nice of pat bev to
To give me that love and uh to share those stories. I don't know if they called me white mike
Uh, but I think they did have respect for the way I played and so for me
The fact that I coach guys from all over the world, uh play with different guys from everywhere
I think that's just helped me understand different perspectives and
connect with different people.
Well, I think they did call you white Mike and I think that type of hype is
something that you have to have a lot of confidence to have being kind of
said about you and speaking of confidence following in coach K's foot,
like that is putting on those boots at that school.
What I mean, it's Shashevskyville outside.
I think his office is there.
It's like everything is Coach K, he's USA coach.
So whoever was gonna come in there afterwards
had to be a very confident individual.
Feels like you've been able to do it,
but also in your own way.
Do you feel that way?
Do you think your team is vastly different
than maybe a Coach K team?
Yeah, well, I think I just had to accept right away
the comparisons are gonna be there,
but really come to terms with, I didn I just had to accept right away the comparisons are going to be there,
but really come to terms with, I didn't have to come to terms.
I knew right away, I'm not, I'm not coach K, nobody else is.
And so I found just great confidence in who I am as a person.
Understand you're not going to bet a thousand, you know, I wish, I wish you were, but there's
decisions you can make along the way that aren't perfect.
And to be able to keep that confidence, to be able to be authentic to who you are to me is the most important thing and so
I think for our players they understand I'm not trying to be anybody different I am who I am and
I think there's a lot of great things to it I'll tell you this though I think we're playing modern
way uh you know modern basketball the way we share it the way we share it, the way we play with pace and
how versatile our team is, I think is really the way the game should be played.
And just the modern way of playing right now.
Coach, can you describe what it's like from the start of the tournament until now?
Obviously, Final Four, we all know what's on the line, but
you have these young guys that are unbelievable superstars, but ultimately
untested when it comes to the brightest lights, the big stage.
As a player and a coach, how does every single round,
does it amp up the intensity and how do you find a way to keep your team kind of
focus and dial and not make too big of a deal of the whole situation?
I think for me, AJ, the biggest thing for our guys, fact is we play five freshmen
in our rotation.
And all five of them in high school, they could have probably played at 50,
60% and still been by far the best player.
And so from day one for me, it's been about setting an expectation of
understanding what the standard is.
But then also preparing to be at your best when your best is required.
And that's what the tournament is all about.
It's not best out five, it's not best out seven.
You get one game and so the fact that we were able to bring in
really competitive dudes who play the right way and let you coach them.
I think we've been able to create an environment on our team where they're not
afraid of the moment, they're not afraid of the spotlight.
And they set a standard for themselves with how hard they play all the time. And that's what I hope you guys see when you
watch us, you know, how together we are, but most importantly, how hard we play. And I think for a
young group to have that is a big time thing. Here's a hembo stat for you coach that you
probably already know or somebody on your staff has told you. Duke's freshmen have played 434 minutes in the NCAA tournament the other three final four teams have combined 160 minutes by their
163 minutes by their freshman, but we're at the end of the year
Obviously, so you feel as if your team's a bit battle-tested you guys haven't lost since February 8th
Okay, I don't want to jinx anything
But hey, you got to win a bunch of games in the tournament to win a national championship anyway
So that just is gonna be have to be how it is talk about that guy right there
Okay, obviously we knew the main event coming out of high school because we have a guy from Boston
Who's been hyping them up for a while?
We have Duke fans obviously scattered throughout the entire show AJ growing up was a Duke fan
D-Bone one of our graphics guys a massive Duke fan
So I think there's a lot of people that have paid attention to Duke throughout the years
Getting Cooper flag was obviously a massive talking point as he lived up to everything you thought you were getting in Cooper flag
And every piece that I see about him the more I like this dude could be in high school right now still allegedly
Is that accurate?
That's accurate. I mean look we have two guys that really are a year below the class that they're in
Cooper and then come on my watch, you know, come on should be in high school as well
You know our starting center and and so, you know, look both those guys, but but you asked about cooper
You would love him even more if you saw him every day pat, you know
The way he goes about his business
Uh, he knows no other way
Than to compete like crazy
you know, he's had moments where he hasn't played as well practice and got knocked back and
The the best part is he takes full responsibility
Like there's no fighting it
Like he'll come to me after some practice and say man, I suck today
I'm gonna be better for you tomorrow coach and and and first of all, he didn't suck that day
That's the first inning but the fact that he thinks that and and comes back with such a killer instinct all the time
He's one of one in that regard and so competitive and then the other thing is he has a unique ability in game
To understand what's required to win and some games is blocking shots other games is you know
Leading us in assists other games is getting 30 or 40 points
It's just a feel that I don't think you can teach
He's fun to watch you know throw loops to all over the place. You know, it's like
His handles absurd his shots insane. He's able to go underneath, he'll bang.
And the fact that you got two high schoolers
leading your team to the final four, congratulations.
Congratulations, that's unbelievable.
White Mike and coach, what a whistle around
White Mike's neck, you think he got to figure it out.
D-Bud has a question for you, John.
Yeah, John, big UConn guy here, UConn alumni.
We went through the last couple tournaments,
last tournament, pretty dominant,
so we didn't have pretty, you know, a lot of close calls.
You guys haven't had many close calls, calls either one kind of close game with Arizona.
Does that worry you at all going into this Houston matchup?
And what are the biggest, I guess, challenges facing this Houston team?
Well, I think, you know, first of all, when you talk about close games,
I think it shows a great killer instinct when, you know, during the game,
there's going to be different inflection points where it can either be
You know you think about Arizona it was uh, you know seven eight-point game
Alabama the same thing with about an eight minute eight-point game with you know
eight-seven eight minutes to go to be able to know in those moments to
Keep your foot on the gas and get separation. I think that's a skill
those moments to keep your foot on the gas and get separation. I think that's a skill.
And our team has had that this year.
Hopefully we can do that, but we're fully expecting against Houston.
It's gonna be a possession by possession kind of game.
My first year coaching, we get one scrimmage to go against anybody.
I wanted scrimmage Houston.
And the reason I wanted scrimmage Houston in year year one I wanted our guys to understand the level of physicality
You know a team like them would play against and that togetherness and the job that
Calvin Sampson does he's as good as any coach in the country period. So the respect we have for them is off the charts
We know it's gonna be a slower paced game. We know it's gonna be a physical game
Still diving in them some but know it's gonna be a physical game. Still diving in them some, but look it's there
if you look at their analytics statistically they're as good as any team in the last 10 years of
college basketball. They're right there with anybody. So we're excited. We know it's gonna
be a big time challenge and the job they do on defense is off the charts. You talk about
coach Samson there obviously he's been around we've seen Houston go on many runs the last school called him Kevin I think and
Then their social teams said his name's Kelvin and the L is actually the same one
He just handed you so they got a little swag down there a little bit of sauce in this entire thing
ESPN research pulled this up John just to make you feel young or good
Samson and Shire will be on opposing benches in a semi-final when Samson began his first season as a d1 head coach in
1987 At Washington State Shire was four months old will be on opposing benches in the semifinal when Samson began his first season as a D1 head coach in 1987
At Washington State Shire was four months old, you know, so he's got a little
He's got a little experience on you, but you know
Exactly Boston Connor has a question for you coach. Yeah coach you got that, you know Duke emblem across your chest
It says the brotherhood above it, you know
What does that kind of mean when playing basketball for Duke,
all the great players that have played there, including yourself?
And will you kind of lean in to the brotherhood as you get ready for
the final four?
Will you reach out to Coach K?
Will you kind of talk to some of the guys that have already been through it?
Or can you just pull from your own experiences enough?
No, no, I lean into all that.
And you know, look, I think when you think about the brotherhood, and obviously, Coach
K is a huge part of that.
I already talked to Coach K first and foremost.
I mean, he's had, he's only had 13 attempts at, you know, in a final four or 13 experiences.
Besides that, he doesn't know much about being in this environment at all.
But for me, I'm lucky, you know as a coach to sell to still have my coach
You know, so the fact is we talk all the time and I lean on him for a lot
But you think about you know, the Grand Hills of the world and shame baddies and you know, you know
Adam silver the commissioner and then BA is a Ducrat
I mean the brotherhood the brotherhood in general to me is the
connectivity in the sports world but especially in basketball is off the charts. I think the thing
that sets us apart though it doesn't matter if you're here for one year or two three or four
the amount of text that I got from four players when we went to the Final Four the text throughout
the year of just being so invested in what's happening to me is off the charts.
I'm not gonna say it's better than anywhere.
I can't compare it to anywhere else.
This is all I know.
But the passion to me is incredible that I feel from our former guys.
Seems like two young Duke guys are taking over the basketball coaching ranks.
You and JJ Reddick, obviously massive talking points.
It's awesome to hear you still talk to Coach K because from the way LeBron talks JJ is a young coach K
in there as well so happy to see the Shershevsky pipeline will continue to crush. Last question
before we have a hard out we can't thank you enough for joining us here coach. All focused
right now on Houston will you also pay attention to the other teams now are we watching filmers
just everything on one game at a time now as
opposed to what it was beginning of the tournament?
I'll let our staff take care of that for me it's 100% Houston.
Just like it's been every step of the way AJ to your question.
It's been what's next finishing what's right in front of us and
then going from there.
All right, well coach good luck.
We can't thank you enough for joining us man.
Thank you fellows. Appreciate you guys
You're the best ladies and gentlemen coach John Schein
You know, I appreciate them coming in saying oh now I've made it you know, I'm on this show
I do I do appreciate that because you guys in the final four. He's a young lad
He had to take over for coach K and a Duke, you know
Team that in AJ you watch growing up. Obviously D bone was in Illinois. You were in, Ohio Final Four. He's a young lad. He had to take over for Coach K at a Duke, you know,
team that in AJ you watched growing up. Obviously D-Bone was in Illinois. You were in Ohio. There's people in Pennsylvania. The Duke brand was the Duke brand because they're basketball team.
And he let, he started rattling off some of the X's. You can start continue those
names on and on and on. It's like it is a brand. There is an expectation. So he gets dropped in
there and just rolls, you know, like UNC very different situations. You know, what's and on. It's like it is a brand. There is an expectation. So he gets dropped in there and just rolls. You know, like UNC very different situations. You know what's going on. You talk
about some of the, go ahead. No, people take that for granted. It's like taking over for Nick Saban,
taking over for Bill Belichick in the NFL. People take it for granted that you can just keep that
thing rolling. And you're right. North Carolina is proof. It's a lot harder than it looks.
Yeah. You have to do it your own way. Like, inevitably you're gonna have to do it your own way
because you're the one that's gonna have to do it
every single day.
And if you don't, you can get left behind.
You can get exposed.
You can go from being a tier one blue chipper
to mid-level just hoping to have a good year.
I mean, that happens.
And I think obviously they have great NIL, I would assume.
Duke basketball has great NIL.
Oh yeah.
I would assume they have, you know,
a leg up on a lot of schools because they are Duke.
You know, it is the brotherhood of Duke that he is pitching, which I think is a good idea. Anytime you get a transition phase,
some people like to forget about the past as opposed to embracing the traditions.
So him being like the brotherhood, the brotherhood, this is all of us here at Duke and him being a Duke guy to begin with,
I think it's been done beautifully, Tashmit, imately. I think they've done it absolutely perfectly over there.
Yeah, without a doubt. And, you know, understanding the added pressure of like,
hey, I gotta make the most out of this, because there's a good chance that a lot of these guys are gonna be gone next year.
I was-
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Okay, Martin, let's try one. Remember, big.

Is what we see that we see lights and laser shows and everything going on back
there. How's everything in the O2 arena right now?
It's fantastic. At some point I'm going to have to get up and leave because I'm
currently sitting in the audience and I believe they're going to be opening the
doors relatively soon. So if I do that, just know because I'm currently sitting in the audience and I believe they're gonna be opening the doors relatively soon
So if I do that, just know that I'll facetime in from backstage
But with that being said all roads have led to the 02 there's been a three-week European tour of the WWE
Here on this glorious road to the WrestleMania and tonight for the second show in a row
London will cap off everything and it's going to be electrifying
tonight. I believe and I believe there's somebody that you can't see, you know, an invisible
person that's going to be here. I believe there's some other magic in store and I'll
be on a microphone alongside Michael Cole. It'll be a dream come true. As you see, Darius

Cowboys ap tone is there and we have some uh breaking news
Ladies and gentlemen
Wednesday april 9th will be a big night
In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and it is
It's gonna be awesome. The show is coming together perfectly the conversations that I've been able to have with people who want to not only
Make the show better but really want to commit to that evening becoming
one of the greatest nights in the history of entertainment. It is sold out
in 92 minutes we all remember that story and it was really cool to experience
that as a whole and with the reaction that there was I thought to myself
there has to be more tickets there has to be more tickets that we can find and
obviously we had held a portion of tickets because of where we're gonna set cameras up and for the view of the stage and for the view of
everything you know can't have people sitting directly behind cameras. Well today we just got
done with a meeting myself and the folks here at the WWE that are going to be piecing this entire
thing together and it turns out we opened up some tickets and I believe with the moving of one thing
to the next and moving this over here
Do we need this particular view for one thing? I don't think so. We could probably open up that section, right?
Don't you think? Yeah, we probably could
1750 tickets will be going on sale on Wednesday at noon Wow, okay
Wednesday at noon we were able to open up
1750 tickets now there was a worry that maybe
these wouldn't be able to be in the giveaway zones. There was a worry that
maybe they'd be have an obstructed view. There was a worry that maybe these seats
would just have to be covered by some tarps because of the way the
presentation of the show was going to go but instead the Wizards here at the WWE
were able to cook up some magic, some potion and we were able to open up
1750 tickets.
It'll go on sale at the same price that the other tickets were on sale for the first time,
so nobody's getting a better deal because they bought it late.
If you bought it early, obviously you will be paying the same.
You won't have to pay more than the people that got it later.
So Wednesday at noon, one week before big night, 1,750 tickets will go up for sale and it's exciting.
I'm very, very pumped up about it.
As soon as I found out about it,
literally an hour before we went live,
I was like, bro, gotta tell people,
gotta make this announcement.
I wanna sell them as soon as possible
because obviously the show is next Wednesday already,
AJ, the next Wednesday.
And gonna give away a bunch of money,
gonna have some spectacular talent in the building and hopefully we have a Wednesday night that's talked about forever
AJ Hawk and I know you'll be a part of the show but just know that there's a chance
1,750 more people could be coming to your party AJ Hawk
Yeah, I think that's amazing
I'm sure people will jump on that as soon as they go on sale Wednesday at noon Eastern as I was watching actually D bone
Make this graphic when I showed up earlier
It was it was cool to see how the sausage is made as they say really cool. Yeah D bone always does
You know D boat stuff stuff, you know
D bone trying to figure out what what matters on the graphic and what doesn't matter on the graphic is always a fun game
It's always a fun game. You know, it's like hey, yeah, when are they on sale D bone big part of it
What is the show big part of the story here? How many of the tickets big part of the story here and D bone gets creative
You know, he's an artist. He does what he's got to do
But in the end he makes magic and that's what we're hoping is Wednesday
April 9th
Nothing, but magic few hours show two hours two and a half hours
Maybe three depending upon how it all rolls show will start at eight o'clock local and I think we over by 10
There'll be our 1030 maybe 11. There's a chance you go to work the next day you Yenzers you find Yenzers
Or if you want to take Thursday off, I believe it's the first first day of the Masters golf tournament down there in Augusta
So, you know everything's pointing up D but you're obviously gonna be a part of that particular program
Maybe a thousand seven hundred fifty more people are gonna come join the evening. I cannot wait
I know a few of my friends will definitely already been be in the building
Hopefully this opens up some space for more of them, but it's gonna be it's gonna be crazy. It's crazy
That's already here pretty much just around the corner and you saying that everything is going perfectly has me feeling great
Worrisome. No, no, no, goodbye.
Yeah, I've been talking about this program
for a few years, this show,
that I wanna kinda piece together.
And a variety show of sorts.
There hasn't been one in a long, long time, a variety show.
Dean Martin had one way back in the day.
I guess there's been a few others.
I think award shows were supposed to become
the variety shows, but for one reason or another,
that didn't really happen.
So I'm hoping for a variety show that people will hopefully want more of.
I think will be a good display of people just coming together to put on a show, just put
on a show, give away some money.
We're going to be streaming a live on YouTube, X and TikTok live.
So if you're not one of the 1750 people that are able to get some of the tickets here on
Wednesday, they've just been opened up literally an hour ago
We figured out more space to get more people in there
You'll be able to watch along at home. It's gonna be a blast
Let's go to the talk to the table at boss Connor and at Ty Schmidt
Con man big story in the sports world this weekend was what I mean
I would say the Final Four the four one seeds kind of coming together or rather the you know
The so selection of the Final four being kind of finite now
We got all ones is Duke Houston then Auburn and Florida, and I don't know if we have it
I doubt we do there was the kind of
Odds of when the team was gonna win and who was gonna win basically all four of the games were blowouts
Comments are to catch off people upset about the all the ones making it? I think so because
everyone loves the Cinderella but also I think it's more so like especially in
the elite eight. Okay well at least it's one verse two one verse three like we're
gonna get good games. None of the games are that good you know Houston killed
Tennessee yesterday Michigan State kind of made it close but not really
yesterday as well Florida in Texas Tech
That was the closest one and Florida had an unbelievable finish
And that was great
But the games themselves haven't been that good for the 1c teams that that kind of stunk
But you know the the final what three games should be incredible even though Duke is clearly the heavy
Favorite, I don't know if we did talk about it, but O's the Mentalist has done it again folks
on March 20th and I believe guys we have the video but on March 20th he put together basically
his final four and also a massive upset from the entire thing and he revealed it yesterday.
I said before we started March 20th when steals at 115, our bracket buster would be Arkansas beating St.
John's. A two gets taken bomb down by a ten. I said Florida will beat Texas Tech. Number one, Duke will beat Alabama.
Today, watch. Houston will beat Tennessee. Auburn will beat MSU. Four number one seeds make it for the first time since 2008.
In 17 years, mark my word. Second time in tournament history. This was sealed at the start time since 2008. In 17 years, mark my word. Wow. Second time in tournament history.
This was sealed at the start of the tournament.
That's crazy.
Every team in the Elite 8.
You got a notary on that?
Same envelope.
And the future is here.
Remember this moment.
We're going to the Final Four, y'all.
You guys have questions?
Well, that's the thing.
If you're going to do something like this,
and maybe they did do it, they need
to show when he closed it or whatever.
At least a picture from March 20th.
It was notarized.
I believe it was notarized.
Was it notarized?
This is before the last two games were played though, right?
Was it really notarized?
Yeah.
Oh, okay.
I wasn't accusing Oz of cheating.
That's not like it works.
But if I see, the first thing I thought of when I see him do this Like why doesn't he monetize this in a gambling way?
Like wouldn't someone come to him and one say hey, give me the let's figure this out. You know, he didn't I know that's what?
I'm wondering like are there some yeah, I don't know
I would assume he can make tons of money if there's some people that he's not allowed
But at the time he could say oh, it's not ethical or whatever
But what do you mean like that's on none of none of the not illegal sports books are gonna let him gamble
Yeah, but I'm saying he tells come to him
Because if you were to like in the world thinking of gambling if you were to do like a parlay of just the yes
Elite eight matchups. Oh, yeah
You can put like a hundred bucks down to probably won like a hundred grand
Yeah, like when he was making that thing much to March 20th
What if one of a you know a big-time whale that can change lines gets in on that?
And no place not that much money because it is one sees verse two seats
Oh, but still I mean it hasn't happened in 17 years the odds would still be pretty yeah
And plus people like we were talking about earlier in the in the games being people being upset or whatever like Ken palm
Who is like the analytics just?
guru of all gurus for college basketball,
literally in his ranking had the number one seeds, like as the four of the top 10 teams,
I believe in the last 20 years or whatever, or all time, maybe as four of the best teams
of all time.
So it's not surprising that they made it here.
It's also not surprising that the games haven't been that close because like I said,
based off of the analytics, these are four of the best teams
that have ever played basketball in college of all time.
But this is what people are saying.
And now we're going together, it's a good thing.
I don't think people should be bitching about this.
It is a good thing, but isn't the argument,
or at least like the old man's stand on my lawn argument,
that we're not gonna see any Cinderella stories anymore?
Like, only these big schools are gonna get in every year?
But a lot of times when that happens,
like the Cinderella story after the elite or whatever,
like those teams get their asses kicked in the final four because you're playing
against like the two favorites to win the national championship.
So hopefully we will get some more competitive games like Connor said,
like all these games this past weekend,
with the exception of Texas Tech in Florida kind of stunk.
So hopefully these final four games are a little bit closer.
But, I mean, the Cinderallas are fun early,
but I don't really care about seeing a 13 seed
playing Duke and getting beat by 40 in Final Four.
Yeah.
Yeah, I think the old man argument now is like,
hey, they're paying for their championships.
Like the NIL thing is now what the old man.
You still gotta make the plays though.
Exactly.
That's the thing. You still gotta make the shots though. Exactly. You still gotta make the shots.
I saw some people were mad about Auburn starting five because they're all.
Old as hell.
And I saw people upset about that and then I saw another thing, it was earlier, I think
it was before the weekend started on Thursday where it kind of showed, you know, where all of the team's players started in college and then where they are now like the FAU team that was kind of one of the last Cinderella's to go all the way to the final four. They're like a nine seed.
Three of their five starters were on different teams that were then in the sweet 16, you know, so it's one of those things. Like I believe Florida, their guards is from if I fa you from their Cinderella run
So I think like I own you. Yeah, I own it like the old man yelling at the you know, no Cinderella's it's turned into hired
Okay, that's just hired mercenaries. They go get one-year deals and go play
Yeah, they're playing for money and they got no loyalty because they're leaving their show
Hey, yeah, it will give you one point eight come over here and you're going to a great team with a great
opportunity.
How can you blame a player?
It's better for your life.
Like if you think that the kid who is now playing in the Final Four again for Florida,
the point guard, would have been just the same as how he would have been if he stayed
at FAU.
Like he's trying to make his life better, not, not just, you know, be a guy that was on the Cinderella team.
It's like, Hey, now I'm playing on one of the top eight teams in the history of college
basketball.
Like that matters for the kids future, let alone, you know, his immediate happiness winning
and playing good basketball.
Yeah.
And they try to bitch about like student athlete, like he's still going to graduate from Florida
with a degree.
So it's like, you know, I mean, if you mean if you can get a bag and then also get a degree with it
like there there really is no you know there's no reason to get pissed off
about it yeah well I mean and Walter Clayton who Florida's point guard or
whatever who came over from Iona like the exposure that he's getting because
of this and the two threes that he hit at the end of this game and then the
three that he hit at the end in of the sweet 16 game like his drafts he's making money every every single one of these shots because down the stretch he has just been ice cold and hasn't missed like him making all these shots he's not making these at I own like he is making that I own it but it's not seen as much and his draft stock is just sky-raw. Comparing him to Steph. Yeah.
So Jay Wilk, yeah, comparing him to Steph.
Obviously, Steph will be the peak
and the all-time great at what he does.
But those type of shots, like, kind of looks like Steph.
And remember, Steph got introduced to kind of the world.
March Madness, Davidson, mid-major.
So it kind of sucks that you won't have those stories.
But it is just the nature of the business,
even on the women's side, you know, Van Lyft,
she's on her third team, and the third team,
she's been to at least the elite eight,
so you'll see this more and more on both sides
of the college landscape when it comes to basketball,
you know, fortunately or unfortunately,
depending on how you look at it.
I think we'll still get them here and there too,
but we won't ever get like another butler,
where it's like you have a mid-major that like goes to two final fours in a row like there are still teams that can go deep
But then after they have a deep run in the tournament all those guys are gonna get blocked by high majors and go elsewhere
So like I think there's still a chance that we're gonna get a couple of these Cinderella's like we saw it happen
This year with with Drake, you know, like they they were an 11 seed
They won in the first round but then immediately their coach leaves and all their players leave.
That's what's gonna happen.
Yeah, I believe Pat may be joining us
from the bowels of the O2 arena.
Here he is, what's up Pat?
Hi, how's it going?
It is great to be back with you here.
I literally came through a secret door to get back here
where I'm at.
It's a great room, it's very peaceful,
but back to your point, I don't know if you guys
had these stats, Em both sent these over.
Should the starting lineups remain the same?
Is this a stat you guys have already talked about? No. Okay.
Should the starting lineups remain the same?
Eight of 10 starters in Florida Auburn will have started their careers at
different schools.
The only ones that didn't are Alex Condon at Florida and Dylan Cardwell
at Auburn. Auburn starts five seniors.
Their seniors have played 677 minutes in the NCAA tournament, most by any team ever entering
the Final Four.
So we still have some seniors, but you're right.
If you're good at all or showcase any talent at any school, there's a chance you're gonna
get blocked the hell out of there.
I mean, that is just the real world nowadays.
And hopefully, you know, schools like West Virginia are the ones doing the plucking,
but it feels like we're potentially a part of the problem.
It was like, we're gonna be the ones getting blocked, you know, after DeVries leaves, after
not even making the NIT.
And you talked about McCallum and all his guys leaving. It's like it's a fascinating
It's a very fascinating
State for college basketball because I don't know why Cinderella's wouldn't exist
I just don't think Cinderella's would exist for multiple years
You know like if a Cinderella shows up that shoe that she was wearing until midnight
That shit's getting stolen by another school immediately.
Yeah. I mean, that's just like, oh yeah, you had a good little audition there in March.
Now guess what you're doing? You're coming to our school. That's kind of how I see it
going. But maybe not. Maybe all the good talent is going to end up at a high end high school
anyways. Yeah. Cause with those Cinderella, at least from what I can remember watching
the game, it's like those guys typically they're going to run with like their best players
or like maybe juniors or sophomores,
like the big, like the Dukes of the world,
these big time, these guys come in,
the Derrick Queens, they come in, hit the ground running,
like these Cinderella teams,
these smaller schools, mid-majors,
it usually takes their guys a little bit long to develop.
And then as soon, like you said,
as soon as they pop onto the national scene,
they're going for, football, even football, you know,
you have a, I have a good year at UConn,
you know, took my sophomore year,
I'm probably going to UM.
So the Cinderella, those kind of stories,
that's kind of why I see it going away and fading away.
And March Madness, when we all become college football,
I'm a basketball fan, it kind of sucks
that those stories probably will be going away.
But yeah, there's money plucking away.
You can't blame the kids for going and chasing greener passions.
But that Jeff Goodman tweet that popped up there, we were talking,
that was insane.
Like that number of players to enter the portal in the lab.
What do you say today?
1700 or whatever it was.
That's what I'm sorry.
Thirteen hundred and fifty nine D1 men's basketball players entered a portal
since it opened Monday.
There's only what? Max 15 players players usually 12 on a team. Yeah
Yeah, and that happened in football remember that happened in football a little bit at the beginning people are like hey
You're asking to go into the portal. You're asking to stay in the you know, that is not everybody has opportunity
But you talk about popping off on the national scene a little bit and then hitting this portal and then hopefully getting somewhere
That's why teams aren't doing spring games anymore. Yeah. You know, teams are
scared to do spring games. They're scared to do spring games because if anybody does great in a
spring game, they have to be a second string or third stringer. They're gone by the time fall
comes around. I mean, it's over. It's like, I obviously have a chance to chat with more coaches
now that we've been in the college
football world here for the last few years.
And it's like, Rich Rodriguez is trying to figure out what the hell to do.
Matt rules trying to figure out what to do.
All these schools are like, why in the fuck would we have a spring game where we're declaring
a first string, second string, third string, fourth string.
So now our third stringer knows he's not a starter right now, but he might be a starter in the fall, but right now he isn't.
So he might be like, well, I'm not gonna play here.
I'll go somewhere else.
And then if you do well in the spring game,
it's like every other place is like, who's that guy?
Who's that?
It's a, it is, I think spring games,
dead and gone.
Everyone's doing like a spring celebration or something.
They're trying to figure out what exactly they're doing, but they're not,
they're not going to be playing football against each other. It sounds like.
Coach Prime tried to. Sorry, go ahead. Go ahead. No, D-Buts.
What you were saying there is a hundred percent accurate.
Coach Prime wants joint practices, but if those are going to be on TV,
and I guess Coach Prime has a lot of confidence in his guys not leaving and
congrats to him getting that new extension. $54 million.
I mean that is, cause I remember just a few years ago, Colorado didn't even know if they were going to be able to pay his original contract. They said, we don't have enough
money to pay his current $30 million contract. We assume he'll be able to make that happen,
which he did. He absolutely did and created a brand and a name. But it's like anything
you're doing on TV with any of these guys, there's a chance that you're just showcasing them to somebody else
who might have more money and it's like how much of that game do you want to
dance with? How much of that? And that's why you're seeing all these teams, they're
doing showcases for the fans because they want the fans to be around and you
know we'll do some gimmick shit, but like playing football, declaring a first
stringer, second stringer, and a third string. It's like, no way, no way.
And now the transfer portal window and basketball has to change. That's stupid.
That's right in the middle of the tournament.
I don't know how that even becomes a decision, AJ.
I don't even know how that's made that way, you know,
cause we experienced in the fall with a college football playoff,
that there was a transfer window and guys were getting in it.
But then we were like, we'll just just move it so after they're like spring semester
they have to enroll yada yada yada it's like well how come football's spring
windows in April something late in mid-April late April and your guys's has
to be in March aren't they both enrolling for the same school that feels
stupid by itself AJ yeah they are they trying to say we have to make it now to
to protect or give guys that aren't in the NCAA tournament aren't making deep runs in the tournament a
Chance to get in the portal and get to another team. Like what's the reason I?
No idea. I've no idea. There's dumb decisions made speaking of decisions being being made
What was rap being so
Auspicious about whenever he was talking about those votes? What was
he like? Did you hear him?
What do you mean exactly?
I don't know if I said the word right there. Is that a word? Auspicious?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think what it means is like, he was like some of these votes, maybe tomorrow, maybe
today.
What is the day?
Minnesota. I think he just didn't know. Really? the day? I think it's Minnesota.
I think he just didn't know.
Really?
You think he didn't know?
Okay, I didn't know if all these were actually getting voted on or if they're just being
discussed.
Wasn't it last year where it was kind of up in the air when they were voting on some stuff?
Sometimes if it was like, hey, we're close on a certain thing and we might have a certain
amount of votes, they're like, why don't we just completely vote for this tomorrow to try and kind of swing like
the Frank Underwood type thing so they choose when they make the vote yeah
that's what I thought if I remembered it correctly that when we were down there
there was kind of some sort of like toss-up of when the actual votes were
Goodell has I can't remember what it was they voted on last year might have been
a kickoff rule or whatever but they had the meeting and they could tell
like maybe they were two or three votes short.
And then, you know,
Goodell had to go that night to have some cocktail
with a few more votes.
So that he knows, he knows.
That lobbying.
Yes, yes, yes.
Yeah, brother.
There's real lobbying.
Like remember this new dynamic kickoff
that we currently have is strictly because, I don't know if it was Roger Goodell, but somebody in the NFL was like, hey, you're gonna have no more kickoff anymore
So figure the hell out like literally that was like the conversation around it all and then they get to this new dynamic kickoff
And some teams like we're not doing this two lines of scrimmage saying yada yada yada. We're not doing that
They're like well, it's either that or it's nothing at all. And then they're like talking at night, shaking hands, earning up votes. You know,
Riz coach Riz had to go earn votes for this kickoff whenever he was the now he's with
the Broncos. He was that at the time with the saints. It's like, there's a lot of working
going on down at these league meetings. And it's a lot of it's like, Hey, I'm better for
the game. I'm saving the game. This is better for the game. But that tush-tush thing, it feels like it's over.
It does.
And maybe they'll delay till May to do that,
but it feels like, I don't know,
more people coming out against this.
I think they don't really have any data to back it up
or whatever, but saying the potential injury risk
from this play.
But defenders, correct me if I'm a linebacker,
I can push my D Lyman, right, on this play. But defenders, correct me if I'm a linebacker, I can push my D lineman,
right, on this play? Yeah, is it just a special teams play you're not allowed to? I don't know.
Yeah, that's what I'm wondering. If I'm a defender, I should be able to push my D lineman. If you can
push your quarterback, obviously in this play, I understand the extra point and field goal is
different, but you're right, this feels like it is is gonna get taken away. I don't think it should.
I don't know.
I mean, just figure it out.
Find a way to stop it.
Figure a way out to run it on offense.
Change just to one guy being able to push.
Like I know, because that's what some of the teams are like,
I know that's what the Packers did with Jordan Love.
That's what Josh Allen and the Bills do.
They could easily keep it around.
Or if they just say, you have to have some sort of,
I don't know like a
Declaration that you can't run them or you can't throw the ball because that's another thing with the touch push is like hey
They might they might make face push. They might see you like if it's something like that
I don't know but I would rather see it stay in the game and just completely ban it
It's innovation. Yeah
I was talking to there's a lot of Eagles fans that work for the WWE
So this morning when I get to the arena here
And I'm sitting down all of them just right on over
And it's all trying screw Philadelphia Eagles and I said what's that you guys are Super Bowl champs
What do you mean? You know bandit touch push because we're barring everybody is that way we're bandit
I thought football is supposed to be tough. I thought you guys are supposed to be tough What do you mean? You got to ban and touch push because we're barring everybody? Is that why we're banning and touching?
I thought football was supposed to be tough.
I thought you guys were supposed to be tough.
That's how these Eagles fans literally-
They got a point.
Yeah, they have a point.
They have a point.
Yeah.
This is just in the wrestling world.
I assume in the rest of the world as well, Eagles fans are feeling the same way.
So we're tougher than you and you guys want to stop that?
Okay.
Okay. And then, you know, your thought about the thought of potential injury, that's a hilarious
argument.
Yeah, but when you watch it, you can see...
Their heads are down.
We could have a neck injury.
Yeah.
Why don't you watch any play that ever happens ever in the NFL and there's potential injury
risk everywhere you look.
Doesn't matter.
I think another big topic of conversation here is they're paying Jalen Hurts 50 million
a year, 51 I think.
Jalen Hurts could easily be a quarterback that says, I'm not doing this.
No way.
There's a lot of very rich quarterbacks that would never do this, never allow this to happen.
Because I mean, they're potentially setting themselves up to literally get anti-ant. Like that is
the chance like quarterbacks think it's always gonna be tough on the quarterback.
But let alone whenever there's 600 pounds of pressure being pushed off your ass cheeks while everybody else is doing the opposite. Like
Jalen Hurts saying I'm cool with it. I'm cool with it. Now granted their offensive line also saying they're cool with it is a whole thing.
But like I think that's something that not every quarterback is willing to be cool with either, you know
Yeah, not you know, not every quarterback is squatting 900 pounds and when Jalen Hurts retire, you'll probably have 90
Rushing touchdowns to go on his resume and obviously it helps the team win to obviously Jalen
How do you stop it D, but for how do I stop?
We've seen enough to you can't is one of those things you just can't stop with the Eagles.
And that's their argument, like, okay, we're,
everybody has the same rules.
Like, Jalen Hurts isn't the only big strong quarterback
in the league, this isn't the only big physical offensive
line in the league.
Everyone has the same rules, the Buffalo Bills,
they were great at it with Josh Allen for most of the season.
I think the Chiefs were probably the only team
that consistently stopped them. How did the Bills do it?
How did the Bills do it?
Because there was people calling, like,
just regular quarterback sneaks touch pushes.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, they do.
And I think there was people confused
about which push was being pushed.
Like, I think people thought, like,
offensive lineman's push is getting pushed
by the quarterback is a push push.
It's like, no, the push that's being pushed, that's currently being talked about is the
quarterbacks push getting pushed by a couple of different hands of guys that have big pushes.
So then it's a big old push on one push that's going into other pushes.
I think that is something that also is kind of hard to like a regular quarterback sneak
is not a push push. No, you know
Yeah, Josh. They did it. Yeah, they did it with one guy
And they usually try to find like one of the guards they typically go over the guards like hurts and go over guard
But a lot of time he was going right over that center
I feel like Josh Allen goes over a guard more and like you can see right here
It's usually one guy pushing him
But that's a big strong son bitch at quarterback
I think it definitely starts there to your point some quarterbacks my homes hasn't done a quarterback sneaking with like two three years now
So a certain quarterback who just isn't gonna do aren't gonna do it at all Tom Brady
He was the best quarterback sneaker of his generation of multiple generations that he played
So he was innovative and found a way to just,
once he saw the gap and got up,
he can do it for two, three yards at times.
So it's gonna be interesting to see how this really unfolds.
But I think the Eagles fans and the Eagles team,
more importantly, has an argument where it shouldn't be bad.
Well, Brady too, like the thing,
the reason Brady was so good at it was that they were
under center every single play.
Like the Eagles and the Bills, they they were under center every single play like the Eagles and you know the bills
They're not under center every single place. So there isn't that like element of surprise like on a on a fourth and one
I don't think it was guaranteed that Brady was gonna do a QB sneak
But if it was there he would you leave the a gap open? Yeah, like I'm in there with the Eagles
It's a guarantee on fourth and one that they're doing this, you know
And I think that's why Brady was so good at it.
And when it comes to just like stopping it in general, the only guy that's consistently
been able to do it is Vita Vea.
And so you would wonder if like that 464 pound guy from Florida, like legitimately becomes
a higher pick because of the fact that so many teams are doing touch pushes now that
a guy like that will be able to stop it.
That'd be crazy.
Especially if this ends up surviving this rule change thing here, more people are going
to want to be able to figure out how to do it.
Like if this survives this owners meeting and it survives May and it's in this in for
next year, it teams will do just like you said with the chiefs, they had a tight end
to come in and take it right?
Yeah. Take the snap. Instead come in and take it right? Yeah take the snap
Instead I think it was what?
No great
The Packers had Packers had Tucker Kraft do it. Yep. Mm-hmm
Yeah, it's like instead of your quarterback getting in the middle of the 600 pound
Kind of scrum maybe have somebody else do it. It's like, I wonder how many people are in the,
I wonder how many people are in the room
talking about that.
Okay, so we want D. Packles to end up taking snaps,
and then they're getting two people on their, like.
I mean, that's probably the next iteration of this thing,
if I had to guess.
Has to be, yeah.
And I mean, think about taking a snap in Vita Veja.
What if he's, you're pushing that dude? Yeah, he's down. I don't know how you stop it defensively
You hit when guys leave their feet like the second level when you jump over top like that's useless at the time over
it's just when they if they if you don't have three guys in the center in
Angle and get a complete jump on the snap and like chop these guys down before they even get underneath you
like the offensive line, you have no chance.
Like it's just not gonna happen.
And that's what the commanders tried to do.
And then basically the refs had to come out
because what was it, four or five?
You see guys going sideways, the chiefs there
had a guy lined up.
But that is what it is.
But Chris Jones got hurt.
Yeah, that's what Chris Jones got hurt, yeah, Bingo.
I mean, good luck.
Yeah, I'm happy I don't play defense.
Yeah, just in general.
But Celiano needs to come out and run that way 50 straight times in a game.
And especially if he gets this thing passed, I don't know how his offensive line will be
able to stand up afterwards.
But if they run this first down, second down, third down, all the way down the field and
score a
touchdown, I think then that message will be sent that we're better than you are. Congrats to the
Bills and Christian Benford on a four-year, $76 million deal. Did we know these types of deals
were still coming at this stage of the off season? No, no, did not. Legitimately,
Bean is out there just cooking over there.
We talked to Ted Karras the other day and he was like, the salary cap, some teams don't
have it.
I don't know how that goes, but it's like the Buffalo Bills had to move on from their
previous team of all the OGs and all the people because they couldn't pay everybody because
they just paid Josh Allen.
They repaid Josh and then they couldn't pay everybody because they just paid Josh Allen.
They repaid Josh and then they're still paying
everybody over there.
Brandon Bean's obviously in it to win it
and congratulations to Christian Benford.
I don't think I know much about him.
D-Butch, four years, 76 million.
How you doing? Keep it moving.
Benford is an absolute dog.
I think he'd be a little more mainstream
if he had a different number.
I think 47. Is that a more mainstream if he had a different number
It throws people off out there corner for sure I'm sure it's some type of sentimental meaning probably behind that number
But he's a he's a phenomenal player fantastic player got banged up last year had a concussion and then came back
I think too early
I don't think you should have been out there and then got banged up again
So he didn't end his year great, but he's been a great pickup for them. This is a great great deal
I think for Buffalo as well start as far as value that's coming in at under 20 million dollars when you saw
What the cornerback market did this all season for them to lock him up?
And I think maybe this could have something to do with the contract talks at least reportedly falling through with James Cook
You know James Cook obviously wants his money. We saw him commenting on the Saquon deal. And then I think Brandon
being talked about, hey, we had some extension talks was kind of stopped. So it'll be interesting
to see maybe he's the odd man left out. But it's a great value, I think for both sides or Benford
and the Buffalo Bills locking up their young star quarterback for the next four years.
And the Buffalo Bills locking up their young star cornerback for the next four years
How about it Brandon being going all in seemingly that's got to be scary for the AFC Easton man Yeah, I don't know about that. They definitely are
Latching their wagons, but I don't know if it's scary the salary cap thing that you know
It doesn't make any sense and we talked about a little before the show with you know
Lamar Jackson is when you pay a quarterback more money
You know today you save more money tomorrow like that is why I assume the cap hits
You know they're able to do it because they gave Josh Allen thirty three hundred and thirty million dollars
but also I feel like there has been a lot of
You know games being reported when it comes to these numbers like we we talked about you know
How when Mahomes got his deal it was you know ten years five hundred million
And then we kind of find out it was really period period
Reporting matter of fact and then in that journalism journalism
It was really you know ten years or eight years
You know four hundred million with all these
crazy numbers.
And even now with the guarantees we see like, well, the guarantees include injury guarantees,
which aren't real guarantees.
They are, you know, very specific things that add to the numbers.
So absolutely, it's great, you know, it being reported as 76 million, but who knows what
that is?
Because even with the Stefan Diggs thing, the Stefan Diggs was a contract was reported as,
three years, 69 million with,
27, yeah, 26 million guaranteed.
And then we come to find out yesterday,
it's really like a one year,
$16 million guaranteed deal.
So as much money is being thrown out,
and it is great that,
everyone is making so much money, the salary cap thing will just never make sense no matter what for
the rest of time but it does feel like the Joshy quarterbacks getting paid you
know immediately just helps the teams you know all around like even with the
Lamar extension talks like I assume Ronnie stay at Stanley their left tackle
going back to Baltimore
kind of did have or will have something to do with the fact that Lamar is going to sign you know a
massive extension that inevitably is going to help the Ravens you know pay a bunch of guys over the
next few years. Yeah they'll be able to kick can down the road that's the fun digs update is
fascinating because the teams are it okay with the massive
number being, you know, marketed.
Yeah.
Yeah, we're paying guys.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, we're paying you guys.
And at the end of the day, we're paying $10 million less than that actually in real life.
It's like, League looks good.
Players only one that seemingly doesn't benefit from that.
So I think insiders are okay getting that information and then reporting it.
And also, where's the transparency come from who knows let's talk about being transparent did you
see what owes did on March 20th oh yeah you were doing the walk we ran the thing
and started talking about a little bit Wow she's insane
demon yeah how good no like how what what is What is happening? He continues to predict the future over and over again.
I don't know. I don't think...
He popped up out of nowhere too? Did he pop up out of nowhere too?
Shefty pulled him out of nowhere. Remember? Shefty is like his manager who took him around.
Yeah, from the depths of hell
Well potentially that's what I'm saying here so like
This guy just pops up out of nowhere in our world, and then he just starts predicting everything. I think I'm frozen I don't know if I'm still here. You're good
Am I still here? Yeah, you're good
Anyways, this dude pops up pops up out of nowhere
And there's just starts doing this while I don't know none of it makes sense to me me. O's is a demon. I genuinely believe O's is an actual demon. Happy
you guys talked about that. Okay. Let's say in the, in the basketball world, but go to the
professional one. How about the Detroit piston is just trying to make the ballast in the palace
every single night. What's going on Foxy? That's just beef stew football. Pat, whenever the Detroit
pistons are good, they have a guy that all he does
is he grabs rebounds and he fights people. If you go back to the bad boys, Bill Lambier,
if you go back to the old four Pistons, Ben Wallace, and now we have beef stew and he
will fight anyone. If you guys remember his marquee fight, he chased down LeBron James
and even tried to fight him. I think he's the only person in NBA history to do that.
That's just beef stew football
Did we have the video?
It was a real fight I was impressed
It was a real legit situation
I don't want to be called a cat but that's how I compare beef stew to Bill Wallace
I agree I agree
I know what you're saying but Bill Wallace is the offensive player of the year
Okay
DiVincen out getting a little soft
Oh, yeah, even choose those adult camera man get crushed push now
What do you do?
Right there and you're getting stomped you just cover. What are you gonna do you punch yourself?
I think you're doing this one here. Yeah, I think you're doing this one. Yes
The foot hand like you're doing jujitsu and you're on your back.
Yeah.
You're full guard.
Yeah, you are in full guard.
Just like what you do whenever a plane is about to crash.
You put your legs out like this.
Knees up against the seat.
Yeah, and then you stop it all.
You stop it all by doing that.
Real surprise, it's the Pistons.
Yeah. Ridiculous. Real surprise. It's the Pistons Yeah
real surprise
Guess who we're coming for in the playoffs right now right now. It's Pistons Pacers, baby
And I know the Pacers don't got a dog like beef stew
You say we
Too much flash. Did you say we, D-Bud?
I just admit, it slipped.
They slipped.
They slipped.
I'm in the end here right now.
D-Bud has been outed as a casual as well.
Did you drop the heat?
I would never drop the heat, all right?
Never.
Even when I was still winning the show.
Well, they called me a casual because I asked Foxy
last night on X, like, what else does beef stew do besides beef?
And people sent me a few highlights
and told me he's the top ten room protector
Hey look, I love physical guys who set the tone, but literally every time I see 28 since chasing down LeBron
I miss seeing him do the same thing. We all love dog
Maybe maybe give a damn Campbell see if he can help the lion. Oh off the edge
He's a dog. I like beefs too.
Me too.
And if his only job is to fight people, I'm cool with it too.
I'm cool with that.
I like that type of mentality in it all.
What else is going around the NBA?
The biggest thing was that the Memphis Grizzlies were the number four overall team in the
West and they fired their coach a couple weeks before the playoff started. It made no sense. There were some reports and I don't know if they were like
Sean's reports or just internet reports but that you know the offensive system Jod didn't like but
that doesn't really make any sense because he's not like a new head coach there. He's been there
for a little while so that kind of blew the West wide open as far as the middle of the pack
goes so who knows what happens with the Grizzlies.
One of their players actually got asked about it and he said he thought that it was an NBA
sentel report not a real report but no he got fired and then in the East and the West
it's still kind of Cavs and OKC running the show.
Hey, I'm Brad Milky.
You may know me as the host of ABC audio's daily news podcast Start Here, but I'd like to add aspiring true crime expert to
my resume.
And here's how I'm going to make it happen.
Every week.
I'm going to unpack the biggest true crime story that everyone
is talking about.
ABC's got some unique access here, so I'll talk to the reporters and producers who have followed these cases for months, sometimes years.
We're bringing the latest developments and the larger context on the true crime stories you've been hearing about.
Follow the crime scene for special access to the people who know these stories best.
Rapper Sean Diddy Combs was a kingmaker.
He had wealth, fame, and power.
Until it all came crashing down.
Federal investigators raiding two homes owned by hip-hop mogul Sean Diddy Combs.
I'm Brian Buckmeyer, an ABC News legal contributor.
As Diddy heads to trial, we trace his remarkable rise and fall,
and what could be next?
Listen to Bad Rap, The Case Against Diddy,
a new series from ABC Audio.
Listen now wherever you get your podcasts.
And tie in baseball, the only thing that happened is that you Yankees are cheaters. Is that what everybody talks about?
What are some other storylines other than the Yankees are cheating with their wood?
So yeah, I mean, cheating, you could say that you could just outsmart in the competition
would also be one way to say it.
The Dodgers are 5-0.
They continue to kind of just beat the piss out of everybody.
And the Padres, the dads are also undefeated.
They swept the Braves.
Braves are supposed to be very good this year.
Reds are good again.
Yeah, sure.
Sure.
Had a good opening day parade.
Had a good opening day parade.
Teddy Karis talked about how great it was.
And then unfortunately for you guys, the Pirates. opening day parade yeah a good opening day parade Teddy Teddy Karis talked about how great it was and then
unfortunately for you guys the the pirates
No, they I mean, I don't want to call it bad luck bad bullpen
Which we know they have they were walked off what two out of three three out of three
Which is like the first time that's happened since yeah
1924 and surprise that was the night. I had 24 pirates that happened
as well. So I see one a world series though. So they did. And it's funny. They're asking
guys in the locker room like, Hey, how do you respond to this? Obviously it's a, you
know, it's a fucking 162 game season. So no one's going crazy after losing three games.
But one of their pitchers basically said like, you know, how do you respond to something
like this happened? Three heartbreaking losses to start the
season he was he basically was just like fuck it it's a long season just move
past it we'll figure it out eventually yeah hopefully you know maybe that's a
sign they should sell it to you could be you know maybe it's the baseball god
saying hey excuse me you need a little bit something different going
on here. Like walked off every game thus far. And obviously Paul Skeens is the future of
baseball. Happy that the Buccos are back in record breaking conversations, even if it's
not great. Let's go to hockey now. Ovi Soren, huh? We're five goals away, Nick and Skates.
This guy's going gonna get it. Five goals away. This one not his prettiest down in Big Buffalo, but he gets a tip in
front. Not really what he's known for. He's known for setting up in his office up top
on a power play and sniping goals, but he can do it down front, get a little dirty,
greasy goal, but he's getting it done any way he can. And it sure feels like he's gonna
get this done before the end of the season.
Was that OV Banzamaker dance video, Real?
Anyone else?
Yeah, that's real.
Yeah.
Loved it.
That's awesome.
Once again, that's George Foster.
Worthy of a follow, George Foster on X.
He is former teammate of mine, longtime NFL offensive lineman, phenomenal Twitter user,
phenomenal X user phenomenal ex user and to be clear when I
saw this video I did not know enough about OB's game I had no idea that we were bands
are making her dance every game seemingly they had them in different eras different
uniforms different buildings I think he's just trying to make them dance out there and
I'll tell you what five goals to go this records been intact since
1999 I look this up
Obviously almost 30 years. Nobody thought it was going to get done
And the fact that ovi was hurt this year and still has the chance to catch this five goals nine games
Very easy stuff for ovechkin even though it sounds incredibly difficult, especially with the way
This year's been going for the caps. That's still leading the East Nick
Yeah, they are record wise the best team. Sorry second best team currently in the league
But definitely leading the East with 103 points
Good here to be a caps fan congrats to them and then chat Hanks I did I'm just seeing this
new song
Yeah, I don't know if you can call it a new song you call a new anthem perhaps because in about a week's time the president
Might change the entire country because of this on him and actually Tom makes an appearance
It's shit kind of dressing up as a few of Tom's roles and let me just tell you look
It's I'm not joking. It's catchy tune
A good song. Yeah, this is not this is not a joke
This is a real song. This isn't like the bring the boom. We bring the boom to you
Bring the boom to you is only like, you know, a minute and a half, two minutes.
And this is Chad Hanks, legitimately starting a music career that has kind of like a LeAngelo
ball situation.
He's a real tweaker.
Have you seen him?
He's in that, that running point.
The show, he's legit.
Like the judge is a very big role.
I don't know if any of you've seen that, that running point with Kate Hudson.
It's good. I ched Hanks is a big part of that show. Yeah, he's legit. Yeah
yeah, people will say, you know, Chad Hanks is an Apple baby and
Obviously when you grow up in the industry, you're gonna be good at who cares. Yeah, who cares?
There's nothing check you do about it. Who's rude? Why all he could do is
do his
Yeah, you've been putting out a song that is a banger by what
you guys are saying, absolutely hysterical. And then obviously big news around the sports
world. Four number ones are the final four in this year's March Madness college basketball
tournament and the SEC will have a national champion contender Florida takes on Auburn Duke taking on Houston Duke really the only team on the ACC which is historically a great basketball team our
Basketball conference who cares if they end up winning the Natty and the ACC wins a national championship
That'll be the only thing that is talked about this Florida teams had a couple close dances
Favored by two and a half against a very good Auburn squad and then Kelvin Sampson leading that Houston team which is a grind and pine style basketball team against Duke
should be an electrifying final four on Saturday.
Let's go to bubble gumpino in the back.
Gumpy good money on Duke.
Is that where you're residing or who are you betting on Gump?
I'm going to take whoever wins Florida and Auburn.
I like both of
them. Houston will be able to match the physicality of Duke but I don't think they'll be able to beat
Duke. Like Duke bullied. Duke's been bullying everybody. Houston had some man meat down low,
they can match that. I just don't know if they can beat Duke. I think whoever comes out of Auburn
and Florida has a good chance of being beaten duke in the final
what did you learn from watching that tennessee first-half with houston uh...
looks like they're very tired every three-pointer hit the front of the rim
that was uh... atrocious fifteen point well especially after we were there
friday night that was the best they looked all year against kentucky on
friday night and then you can say the same about alabama the best they looked all year against Kentucky on Friday night
and then you can say the same about Alabama the best they looked all year was against BYU
they go and play Duke and they can't hit a damn thing Duke is so good defensively and they will
bully teams Lucas Hall Stadium was a good setup yeah it looked like it was it was a good had a
good view of everything had good games obviously I mean a couple of them. It was, it was a good, had a good view of everything, had good games, obviously.
I mean, a couple of them were blowouts, but it was, it was a good, I thought it was a
good host.
I legitimately thought it, now all eyes are on San Antonio.
Where are they at down there?
They're in that, uh.
How low?
That's huge.
How about that?
Yeah, it's gigantic.
Like, I think as shooters, and we know college guys, they they can shoot lights out But they can't shoot like NBA dudes like if you get one of those big venues D
But I can speak more than any of us D bus legit
basketball player like isn't it weird sometimes shooting those huge venues when you go from an
Arena basically to the stadium like Alamodome. I played a bowl game there. It's
I actually went there for one of the Yukon
National championship runs for the women's side. The court's gotta look so small when you use play.
It changed. The depth perception changed. But once they get out there and they practice,
they have their shooter rounds, you know, these are some of the best shooters, obviously,
in the world and the country. So they definitely figured it out. I lost a lot of
interest in March Madness after my Huskies got bumped. But this was great for the-
Come on, dude.
I was watching golf this weekend. All right, then we got his first man
In that leaderboard on Sunday. Yep roars Scotty. Yeah, what was that woodland?
He made a run on so it was some great great golf this weekend leading into the Masters
But I'll definitely be locked in in this final for run. I'm with a gump
So I think the winner ultimately comes out of the SEC
Yes, you see winning it would obviously be great for Sankey and for their entire narrative
that they are now a basketball conference.
Had seven of the Sweet 16 teams now.
Obviously they will have a representative in the national championship as Florida and
Auburn play against each other.
Ari Mirov and others are saying that NFL executive Peter O'Re good guy that change chat with
From the NFL
Said that the league is exploring a possibility of a regular season game in the United Arab Emirates Oh more work is needed before it becomes a reality
Let me tell you why they're doing that
Why explain it becomes a reality. Let me tell you why they're doing that. Explain it. Maybe.
Maybe.
I mean, maybe that might be the actual thing.
It's like, can we do business over there? And if we
can, how often? And is
that a real thing? And it's like, yes. Okay.
I would like to be on the side of I think it's good to help countries and everything
evolve.
I think it's a good thing.
Like getting a chance to watch from afar.
I've never been over there.
What the WWE has done alongside Saudi Arabia and the Crown Prince, God bless him, and everything
they have going on over there for their citizens,
for their entertainment, for day to day, for what life is like from what it was just 10,
15 years ago to what it is now.
Like I think that's good for their society, good for the world.
Now granted, there's a lot of detractors to all of that.
You're doing business with people that have blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, and it's like
if we start digging in all those things, especially in all these different
countries, like I think you're going to be able to find everywhere there's been mistakes,
obviously bigger than in some places than others.
I get it.
But watching their society evolve with the WWE and with sport and with entertainment
and us taking the game, like I liked the thought of bringing the world together and closer
via sport
I enjoy the fact that golf was being utilized as something for
Saudi Arabia folks to get interested in more American sports like I
liked the thought of sport bringing the world together because ultimately
that's what I think sports are about and if the NFL is able to take their game over there and receive a
huge payment, a fucking
huge payment, I think it's good for the world as a whole.
But yes, that number and the amount of apostrophes that'll be on that one, I assume only goes
up, which is good for salary cap, good for the league, but also a very real situation.
Yeah, great.
I don't know what that was that flight like 18 hours or something to try to get over
They might have a bye week coming back from that one, but you're right like that's I mean
They're doing another part if they're doing Australia if they're talking about doing a change like I don't think they give a shit about
The Concord the new Concord's coming out in a year or two right remember Earth say was talking about it
When they're new Concord, it's about the what I just give that thing a couple years
Yeah, I don't know. I don't know if I'm signing up for this get on the first one
Yeah, just like Connor just said I'm on the seventh one. I don't know. I don't know if I'm signing up for this kid on the first one. Yeah.
Just like Connor just said, I'll go on the seventh one.
Oh, like you let someone else in.
I don't know about that.
I'll go on it a month after it's in double digits, double digits.
And that one at least maybe triple.
That's like, I'm at a point now where people are trying to sell me planes, which is the
layers.
And it's crazy to me that the brand new ones are so much more expensive
Because if somebody comes up to me and they say they got a brand new plane
I'm gonna say this thing's got no no this thing's never been up or down like well in tests, obviously
It's like I'm not getting on that plane. Thanks. I need my bird to be experienced
Okay, I need to experience a Midwestern wind a Midwestern fall
I needed to go over there towards the Northeast whenever you know
It's about to be winter and that Bay is humming like I'd like some hours on my plane
I would like some hours on it. They were like, well, this is the one you want
It's like no it is the fuck it is. I'm not getting on that thing
No way the wheels gone down and up yet because I've been on a plane where the wheels wouldn't go up
Okay, and that's certainly something and then I've been on one where the wheels wouldn't go down for like a couple hours
And they're like we think we might have to body this thing and it's like
Okay
I'm dying today. That's sweet. So I want my bird to have a little experience just like the Concorde if I'm not hopping on an actual rocket
I'd like that thing to at least take a trip another round
another round another round
You know
I want one of those I want a drone like the human-sized drone where it's like the one-seater I get in I just
Type my destination and it flies me 20 minutes to my house or something. That's what I'm looking for
England for a game. Nah, I mean this is more shorter like hey I'm at the Thunderdome I need to go a 25 minute
drive from here boom give me my little my little uber drone where I can order from my
phone.
Oh yeah.
Right?
Is that a helicopter if it's four choppers that are doing all the work?
I don't know you tell me.
All right we'll wrap it up here.
Netflix raw three o'clock Eastern one hour and six minutes from now.
Should be a great time in London.
If not, we're back tomorrow.
Be a friend, tell a friend something nice.
It might change their life.
Goodbye.
Nice.
Torpedoed that thing.
Yeah, it did.
Yeah, you torpedoed the shit out of that thing.
Still think that is...
Genius.
That feels like something they're gonna ban.
Yeah, just seems like a genius play.
It was just the perfect storm where they used the bats and all of a sudden they got hotter
and they faced pitchers that they see the ball well.
Like what happened?
Yeah, I mean they hit nine homers in their second game.
They're not going to continue this pace.
No, definitely not.
Yeah, I mean that's what, yeah, the Brewers, they on Saturday they hit three homers in
the first three pitches of the game.
And you know, so it's kind of really really started to heat things up there
But yeah
I mean anytime you hit nine homers in a game like I mean they scored so many runs and they just beat the shit out of
Them that people are gonna say, you know, hey, yeah, you got a call competitive balance into but again
Everyone had the opportunity to do something like this and it has kind of been around
Before but like I said like if the Yankees or like the Dodgers or
you know, like one of these big teams do this, it's obviously gonna get a lot more
eyes on it. But we'll see. I would assume that, you know, more people are gonna
start using these in the coming weeks.
Yeah, the boss. It's time to juice the balls. Okay, we don't want guys taking
steroids. Fine. Get the torpedo bats on every team and juice the balls.
And then we get the summer slam all over again and baseball is all
The way back because I also saw a cool promo video of all the players and all the teams and it did make me want
To watch baseball because that sweet music behind it and I show hey hitting Olmers with Aaron Judge
Like this is this is such a simple fix to the problem baseball has had in the past. I'm with you coming
I am Shocked from the news that you told me the Miami the guy that built these bats works for the fucking Miami
Yeah, that's how I answered your question. Hey Jay, that is not the best
Yeah, that's definitely cuz we've been what one of shitty steam glass with real bad
Samson was there? Me and Jazz is... We got Jazz and figured it out.
Doug Goat.
It's fucking ridiculous.
But a lot of people are also saying that John Carlos Stanton used the torpedo bat last year
and that's why both of his elbows don't work anymore.
So maybe the weight distribution, you know, that could call something into...
We were swinging too hard.
Yeah, exactly.
Swinging too hard, those torpedoes.
I think it's good for
baseball i love it all right before i get out of here we gotta talk about something that obviously
captivated some headlines um morgan wallen just wasn't told yeah he was supposed to talk to
everybody or what do you think happened he just wanted to get back to god he just wanted to get
back to god's country man i mean does the musical back to God's country, man. I mean, he spent New York. Does the musical act still spend all week there, or at least the last couple of
days there? Probably. He didn't just come in for Saturday. He spent the credits there.
I know that. He was over it. He was over everything. So they had the photo. Remember they did the
promo where he was standing on the side, didn't say anything, was just giving the looks. Morgan
Wallen, my number one Spotify musician. So I am a big fan. I've had a chance to meet him a few times. Cool dude.
When I heard he was doing Saturday lives, he was super pumped for him. Yeah.
I walked out with him. You're right. I completely forgot about that.
I walked out from that Lucas. The first one,
I think it was like the first one, the first walkout, me and Tyree,
salad Burton. Obviously we were out there going mad silly dude. Mad dog.
Mad doggy.
No cap.
No cap.
It was so lit dude.
We were doing it.
So when I saw the first promo where he didn't say anything, he just kind of looked over
and head nodded.
I was like, oh, this looks like it's going well.
And then I saw him at the end give the ass out hug, not the in hug and then I saw him just fucking a roll right out towards the camera
I mean I left my ass. I laughed said I was supposed to be funny. I laughed very hard. I left very hard
He said he was not I don't know if it was him or somebody in his team said he was he did not know he thought
Sure, it was over. He thought he was just supposed to to go on and get out of there so I think it's a legendary exit
and then he gets the teeter-burrow and he says get me back to my dirt bikes and
get me back to my 40s and get me back to God's country and I think obviously I
assume he was honored to be a part of Saturday Night Live but he did something
that's never been done before and that show's been on a long time.
I laughed so fucking hard though.
So hard watching it take place.
Nobody pulled him and he never watched the end.
Like what if he never got to the end of Saturday Live and they're like, you know, it's been
on for 50 years.
And he's like, yeah, yeah, we'll say goodbye and get all right.
All right.
Fucking.
Yeah.
It's incredible.
I love it. I love it. I laughed so hard. What's the issue? What do people think?
They think the staff didn't or the crew, the cast didn't like him or he didn't like the
cast?
Is that what happened?
I don't know.
Or he just had to get home.
No, he just didn't know.
That was the same way he left all week long.
That's just how it went.
Every time I've been up here, I fucking write it.
It says exit.
Is that where people said that maybe, you know, he didn't get along or they didn't
get along or that's all some terrible things said about Morgan by people on the internet
because obviously they can say that he's given he's provided an opportunity throughout his
entire life for that to happen.
But keep on trucking Morgan. You did great. You did absolutely great.
And your exit is one they'll talk about forever.
They'll actually say next time, Hey, don't do the Morgan wall.
So that like, they'll say that forever. Yes. You know,
and that's what that's what legends do. So legends do brother. All right.
I'm going to do this program. I can't thank you guys enough.
1,750 tickets on sale Wednesday at noon just been opened up just been opened up. Let's go. Hell. Yeah
Do you think there's a background on that graphic I can't we mean
It's just black. Yeah, there is actually
There's a little like a black badly gravelly kind of feel to see
Yeah, why would you want to see that?
You know, like why would you if you were making the graphic you take all the time to put the city of Pittsburgh?
In the background of the graphic, you know, I don't see why would you want anybody to see it?
That's not I'm just happy it says big night out Pat. I'm really just happy to see that on there. Oh
That's not I'm just happy it says big night out Pat. I'm really just happy to see that on there
Well, it is I do worry that my I do worry that my leadership and coaching is just not good because
This D bone guy, you know
We'll get to a new graphic
and It's like have I taught you nothing have we have you?
Or my words not can you hear are you deaf what
is the in my not saying so I'll tell you what D-bone has really challenged me to
become a better orator and for that I appreciate him because the guy's a
fucking talent the guy's a fucking talent and he knows it but great graphic
here and it's great news cannot wait for big night out week and a half from today. It's happening
Oh shit
That'd be cool
I sent the video in where I'm mad. Can you guys pull that all we play that? What what does that room use for?
Do you know look at this?
used for it you know look at this. sick.
Oh yeah.
So there's a back room.
Oh hell yeah.
I mean that's every arena should have all the rooms like this.
Good lad.
That's Eddie O'Rango one of our greatest officials here at the WWE said hey I got a
room for you brother nobody knows about it and then bang I walked into this thing.
That's all I know.
That's where I'm at right now.
That is sweet.
Literally that's where I'm.
I guess it's a green room.
I wonder who I wonder who all has been here like and I don't see a oh yeah there is one right
there I guess I was gonna I was thinking maybe this is a sure yeah cover that
thing up they've done some things in there I don't think we want to know what
happens in that room yeah don't get a blacklight on that couch I mean look at
a waterfall yeah they have a decorated on that couch. I mean look at a waterfall. Yeah
Decorate a jungle for a reason. I mean the whole thing is a mirror on one side You think you're bowing in here? I think there's a chance. There's more bone in here. Yeah, right with those mirrors
That's what they're for
Is that cloth is that cloth on the couch you want some leather you can wipe up, you know, that's gonna
Seep into that that claw. Mm-hmm. Oh
Oh boy, that's bad news. They seem cleaning. Yeah, I
Wonder who's saving I said on here
Mick Jagger. Yeah for everybody's this could be
Ringo's
All the Beatles yeah Yeah. Really. Even John.
Allegedly. Paul, obviously. I got some lefty steaming in here. You're right. Good question.
All right, I'm out of here. I'll see you boys. See you, brother. Go get them, fellas.
So Netflix, 3 PM Eastern, correct? Netflix, 3 p.m. Eastern on the road to WrestleMania
Yeah, we're close. What happens tonight? Who's coming out tonight? He's possibly somebody that we can't see
Yeah, I think you know, I don't know. I look at that be a great act. I thought we were done making those jokes
What they're not funny then you can't see me. Is there a final boss? I want John Cena to start rapping again
Honestly, he never stopped. I wonder if Cody Rhodes is gonna play clash of clans in the middle of the ring
I think there's a chance. What do I want to talk about AJ?
Triple H is gonna keep protecting Cody Rhodes. Oh
He won't let him go face to face cuz yeah, Cena would destroy him
He won't let him go face to face cuz yeah senior would destroy him with promo We'll see you cook him on the mic is Dwayne over there. You mean the final boss boss. I don't know
No, actually, I saw he couldn't get out to the ufl game because his flight had to turn around me
Yeah, like from Hawaii over the ocean. How was the ufl a great weekend?
Didn't uh, Oh buddy made a kick destroyer strong. You're trying to kick
39 yard a lot of good tackling yeah skip Holtz and
some other head coach almost got into a fistfight I did not miss that it's
pretty sweet I watch Jordan town I get a bonus sometimes you think the rock pays
him a bonus of coaches fight like a more eyeballs like they all want bonuses and
that was kind of why we almost didn't have the UFL this year they did they did
have the first down technology right this, this is where we get new technology
that will eventually get to the NFL, right?
Yeah, that was sweet to see.
So it must be a chip in the ball and then this on the field?
Like how did they?
What technology did they use that the NFL won't use?
Microprocess.
Give us that.
I'm assuming they're using the same.
Probably microprocess.
I'm assuming they're using the same.
But you know how bad that would hurt to come in
and make that tackle?
Oof. Who would? Throw the fist up, fourth down. Wow. They're using the same. Great tackle. How bad that would hurt to come in and make that tackle?
Who would?
Throw the fist up, fourth down.
Wow.
So do we think this has legs, this league?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, the crowd was packed all the games.
Definitely has legs.
I mean, first, like a centipede.
Oscar Pistorius.
These guys, every guy playing on this field,
they're all elite football players.
No doubt about it.
So much better than anybody we've watched play
in high school and mostly in college.
Agreed.
But it's weird when it's not the NFL, D,
but why is it so hard to get invested
in something that's not the NFL?
Oh, here we go, this is Pukas' brother, right?
Yeah, it's Pukas' brother.
Both of Pukas' brothers scored, I believe.
Yeah, it's on that. Really?
Good day.
I feel like I'm watching any given Sunday.
That's why I can't get on board with it,
because it's like, these aren't NFL uniforms. Like I feel like I'm watching any given Sunday That's why I can't get on board with it because it's like these aren't NFL uniforms
Like I feel like I'm watching a movie where they couldn't get NFL licensing and we have these weird
Michigan Panthers like I'm just never gonna get there with that. Where are they ever? Where's the game?
Where these guys still in that Simmons Bank State Michigan Panthers will play at Ford Field. I know that okay
So they have home. Yes home
Venues well, the thing is like it that doesn't matter like that's what the indoor league does like college football in the NFL are such
Incredible products where like even the step down like you I mean LeBron kind of mentioned it with college basketball
Even the step down from college to NBA people have a tough time with and like something like that
Versus a college game is a level and then obviously I mean you guys know like down from college to NBA people have a tough time with and like something like that versus
a college game is a level and then obviously I mean you guys know like college NFL is another
level so it's like it's just you know it's fun.
You got to be invested you got to be invested in the players that's the problem if obviously
you have a buddy or a family member playing you're gonna go like and you're gonna be all
in but outside of that
How do you get casuals to all of a sudden be interested in something? That's a new startup more POV Kim
That's certainly a way to start innovation. Yeah
Doing an f1 series, you know, that's how people go on that one. I know the Netflix. Yeah
Yeah, I also don't know you can't do it the like the March Madness is on this weekend
It's like the biggest games of the year
Like I'm not it's very hard always like so and I know
the you know elite aid is going on but fucking you if else he's a star I mean
what Joe Clatt was calling the game wasn't he yeah I mean like Fox is you
know big time yeah cool cuba fell asleep during it no did he just saw he wasn't a huge fan, but I also didn't see exactly what happened
Speaking of lower leagues Bruce bought season tickets to Fishers Freight the indoor league starts soon
I have a barnstormers. Oh a season over next week
I'll see what sport is it indoor indoor football league fishers freights 1 & 0 41 29 victory
And that first is actually very fun to watch in person. There's big hits, there's touchdowns all over
the place. Any players we know? Um, yeah, me. I'm actually playing quarterback. Not
yet. You should go play some safety. What position? I should play quarterback for uh,
touch push. That's where I was last week. Six touchdowns. Wait, where do they play?
What kind of venue is it? Uh, it's uh, it's a new venue. It's nice. Around here in
Fitchers. It's seats like 7,000. It's where like the
Indy fuel yeah
Blake Shelton, sir that's right
Yeah, that's a big play for us. So is this a this is your arena?
We just is just a the league that a be headed team. Oh, you got my the Albany Empire
I don't know if that T league exists. Yeah
I'm about the Albany Empire. I don't know if that T league exists. Yeah
Was 83. Oh, yeah, this is the IFL. Yeah, this isn't like this is a really this is a fool game Well, I think none to us a lot of people were saying Joseph jr. My win defensive
I did hear that
Game huh, how do you go into a
game? Huh? How do you afford that? He decided not to get McDonald's
last week.
These guys are later on the line. They're affordable family friendly prices.
Our entertainment. Yeah, a couple picked up a coup on a modern day
gladiators.
Some poor guy owns the team. That being said, this is like 10 minutes from my house I'll go to every fucking game if you don't think I'm gonna be
Embedded in the aisle bench. You're crazy. Yeah, but you coach maybe
Like a carry the goal line once the season over at home that RPO Friday 705
See you there. Yep, like Friday night. Yeah, now I get my high school fix in the off season.
In the spring, you know.
I miss Friday night lights usually in the spring.
Now I have it back.
They got good booze cocktails in that place too.
They do that.
Sweet.
We've showed it before, but the
outdoor adult league where they wear no pads
but it's still full contact.
That is actually very that means
They send me messages all the time. Yeah, I need to Savannah bananas run where they're going around from field to field and playing football
What is Savannah? But are they really traveling like they sell out big every stadiums? Okay
Can you explain there's two teams right? Yep, two always two teams the same two teams play party animals and bananas
Yeah, actually, okay Yeah, so party animals and bananas. Yeah. Actually, okay.
Basically, baseball club, club trotters.
Yeah.
Basically.
But are they, okay, are the outcomes,
how's, what are the outcomes?
No, they're not fixed.
They're playing like, I mean, they're just doing like
cool dances before they throw it,
but then they're like really pitching
and they're really trying to hit it.
Oh yeah.
And they just have like sweet gimmicks.
Like old buddy on stills.
Yeah, backyard baseball, where like you have have like activate stilts mode or something.
So that's what we're doing.
But activate bigger bad play though.
Like they're legit baseball players.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
But do you have to audition because you have to be an absolute pro.
They got the guy who does like the back flip in the outfield before he catches, you know,
pop fly.
That's what I'm saying.
Circus away.
One of the rules they had was like in the ninth inning because they have certain rules
with the fans too.
Oh, those are awesome.
I remember that from last year.
If you catch a ball or something.
It was like if a fan catches a foul ball games over that team wins and it happened and like
really people went nuts.
I thought I thought they brought the fan onto the field.
Like it was it was really cool actually.
So they're still trying to win.
Each team is trying to win the game.
Yes.
But they are they each have their own little get paid
Yeah, they each have their own form of entertainment
Cool, but they eat like they all have like elaborate wall
Sometimes I'll see the video the dude like walking in from the top of the stadium doing a choreographed dance with 80 people
They have a good time. I know how many stops they have
Know how many stops they have
Sold out Fenway like not too long. Yeah, like for the season start for an entire weekend I mean they I'm not sure if they sold it out, but they sold like
60,000 tickets in the Raymond James for the Tampa Buccaneers play crazy. Has anyone made the jump to the majors?
I don't know if that's how it works tone
I'm not confident that you are confident in what you said couple guys. That's not how it works
Well, I think you may just said that
I do think it's the office was he doing back foot. I think it is the opposite. We're like single a double a guys
Will go to the banana guys
To like they get paid because these guys are legit
Shane Victorino was playing one of the other teams. He's like a former MVP
Yeah, like he I don't know if he was on party animals with bananas
But I think he was a banana Johnny Damon Ryan Howard Johnny Damon. Yeah, they played like in a game
Yeah, like they were really part of it. Not just like hey, this is an honorary at bat or no
No, like they were part of the game. Oh, I don't know. They might have been a pinch hit situation
But either way they were playing I mean if you can pitch off a stilt
I'll give you credit
You should win that game certainly that dudes on still yeah look that's where Raymond James. Yeah nuts. That's cool setup Wow
Who won this one?
If it's like I can't remember if it's a foul ball and a fan catches it it is called an out. Okay
We started it it's a good gimmick it's good. He reinforced it. He drove it home. It is true though, right? So
If you hit a homer and you throw it back doesn't something happen. Yeah, they beat the shit out of you
No, actually if you hit it down here if the fans throw the home run ball back then the club signs you and then you
Leave them the World Series, but then your elbow fully heals. I can't throw the fastball anymore
Chet Steadman's your your mentor. He's like a grumpy old guy right?
He's dating your mom loves Salisbury State loves it
Looks like he's like 58. You're still pitching in the majors
Yeah, I'll call them. Don't call him the rocket anymore
Reference the movie you're talking to all the young people what anyone younger than you there's no movie reference, okay
All right, the rules of the Rosenbacher
That from top to bottom that was a great era of movies. I guess what it was all you know, you know you see now, right?
Top to bottom that was a great era of movies. I guess what it was all yeah, you know, you buddy you see now, right?
What was yeah, you ever seen
I see I was trying to name I did not see it. Yeah, it was great
Little giant I can't remember little giants. You see, you know, I say a lot spike
Banger still haven't seen mighty ducks The big green
Gutenberg head coach
Watching original space jam last night it holds up today. Oh, yeah, which one are you like better?
They haven't even seen the new one. I made that run about space. Yeah, fuck space jam was legit. That's a movie
Yeah, yeah, Jordan good magic stuff. I mean legit movie. I think he filmed didn't he film it in the middle of his three Pete
Yeah, they built an entire I remember that right? Yeah, you would go play and bring it all the big-time deals
And you can play I try to tell my kids that actually I was like, hey this there's a reason Michael Jordan's Michael Jordan
He was filming this in the offseason
He brought in all the best players in the world and played for eight hours
Oh, yeah, every single day to try to like let him, you know, just reinforce that Jordan didn't wake up and all of a sudden
Become that good
Glad you're forcing it. I did they didn't listen they didn't hear every day. Yeah

alive though. I hope so. I think so.
I mean, that's why I have multiple times. I just want
isolated. If I'm not confident that someone
is dead, I'm not going to announce them dead.
Just for the record. Just like I'm not
going to ask if you're pregnant.
Smart. Let them tell you.
If you're
dead, I need to see you dead or you need to tell me you're dead
and if you're pregnant, I'm never asking.
You got to tell me. Bingo. I'll just say congratulations. I'm with you on that a thousand percent
Yeah, it's smart. It's good rule. Everyone should be with you on that. They're not everyone's not I know they're not and also with you
Man, look at you. How many months pregnant are you?
And then the person's not I've been around a few of those Bobby stop
You should bag some dog shit like tonight and like maybe you piss in
like a couple plastic cups and set it out tomorrow and make your kids think

sloughing up the turds I got you April fools after I see him eat three bowls of it or or or you put some of that turd on like a doughnut
