Hello beautiful people and welcome to our humble abode the Thunderdome on this NFL schedule release
Tuesday May 13th, 2025 this program starts now
Spore are happening all around us last night was a big night for the NBA as the draft lottery took place and everybody immediately said
It was rigged the Dallas Mavericks with a 1.8% chance to win the draft lottery and have the number one
overall pick presumably for Cooper flag ended up winning the draft lottery right there on TV. Now
the way Mark Tatum and the NBA decided to do it was certainly interesting anytime you have two
people left for something and there's only going to be one winner especially a number one overall
pick we believe that you should probably showcase who's the first overall pick so it can be a
celebratory moment
as opposed to, oh Spurs, you get the number two.
And also that means Dallas gets number one,
should be a celebratory moment.
Obviously it was for the people in Dallas,
especially after how the year has gone.
Obviously Luka gets traded away from the Dallas Mavericks.
Here's Nico and the boys back in Dallas.
Yo ho ho, 1.8% chance we did it, we did it, we did it.
Now as they were reacting in complete surprise,
everybody on the internet said it was no surprise.
Everybody said that this was kind of a rigged situation.
They made a move for the NBA.
Luka to LA was obviously a massive storyline.
Brought a lot of people back to the NBA
as maybe their ratings were kind of dwindling.
In return, the NBA paid them back
by giving them the number one overall pick.
Now, what would they do?
Well, they went Ernst & Young, the accounting department says.
That's right.
They overlooked the entire process.
And I don't know how you would rig a lottery with the balls.
And we've seen the balls and had to pick four different balls to be able to get the Mavericks in there and whatever the case is.
And people are always going to say something's a work, something's being worked, especially if they end up not winning.
But with the Dallas Mavericks winning, they had the fourth lowest percentages to end up getting to the more overall pick in the history of the draft lottery.
Now with Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, what does his future look like?
We'll talk to his agent Rich Paul in about 14 minutes or so to kind of get his thoughts on this hole.
And then Cooper Flagg with Klay Thompson on that team, are the Dallas Mavericks all the way back?
And was that move post-Luca maybe a great decision?
Or are the Dallas Mavericks going to trade that pick?
Maybe for Yannis.
The Greek freak maybe comes down to Dallas.
Could you imagine Anthony Davis, Yannis?
Kyrie Irving?
Clay Thompson?
Nico running laps, obviously, because he's in better shape
than everybody down there in Dallas.
Do they immediately become title contenders
because of the addition of Yannis?
And now that is what the next conversation is going to be for
About a month or so. What are the Dallas Mavericks going to do with that number one overall pick?
I appreciated the way Cooper flag handled it all last night because every time he was being talked to or talked about
It was in the assumption that he was going to be a member of the Dallas Mavericks
He was going to be the number one overall pick the draft hasn't happened yet. Just the lottery
He answered all the questions. I think perfectly
I think he handled himself like a complete professional.
And I think Cooper Flag is obviously gonna be a dog.
Now, if the Indiana Pacers would like to make some moves,
get up number one overall,
I would certainly love to see the flag land itself
right here in Indy.
But the question now is, what is Dallas gonna do
with the greatest card in the game,
which is number one overall pick,
with a certified, legitimate NBA pro on the horizon and Cooper flag is what everybody is kind of talking about.
So the NBA had a big time night last night. Congrats to them. Obviously,
had some NBA playoff games as well. And the NHL had playoffs and the NFL is releasing its schedule
tomorrow. Holy hell sports are happening at a rapid rate. We'll be talking about it all.
Dan Orlovsky will join us in next hour
Can't wait just have no idea what he's gonna say
Anything have no I literally have no idea what he's gonna say. I assume he's been watching a lot of film
He's got a lot of ideas. There are some things happening around NFL camps
Obviously OTAs don't really start for a lot of teams until the end of May, but we're getting stories from OTAs
Like for instance in Cincinnati Trey Hendrickson showed up today in a polo.
Yeah. Okay.
Showed up in a polo, walked onto the field
with the lads who were working,
which I believe were the rookies,
young guys in this entire thing.
Trey Hendrickson there, show and face.
Does this mean they are currently negotiating?
Does this mean that Trey Hendrickson
and the Cincinnati Bengals
are maybe trying to get a deal done?
Tom Pellicero reported that Trey Hendrickson is there
to address the Cincinnati media
about his current contract status.
Well then why would he be going out to practice?
I think this is a good thing
for Trey and the Cincinnati Bengals.
I think this means that they're talking,
maybe negotiating.
Remember, Ian Rappaport told us yesterday
that they think, he thinks that Cincinnati Bengals
will pay Trey Hendrickson.
Trey Hendrickson said, are anybody gonna tell me that?
Because they haven't told me a single word.
Maybe that's what's happening today.
Nonetheless, there are people that are on
Trey Hendrickson's side around the NFL
that are saying, Trey, if you want this to actually happen,
at some point you're gonna have to put, you know,
those probably loafers, if I had to guess,
you're gonna have to put a loafer Don and say,
hey, enough of this, he's deserved to get paid.
Maybe this is a step in the right direction.
Maybe they are currently negotiating
and Trey Henderson gets his bag sooner than
later. Tom Pellissere reported no breakthrough negotiations. Trey
Henderson is in Cincinnati to speak with the media about his contract
situation. Well, we got his quote yesterday through Adam Schefter. We'll
be excited to hear what he has to say today and maybe just face to face type
situation. Trey Henderson says, Let's get a deal done. Nonetheless, there's
more than that happening around the NFL. There's a lot of schedules,
or a lot of games that have been leaked.
The full NFL schedule will be released tomorrow.
All the social media teams from around the league
are preparing themselves.
They're gonna be judged harshly
on how they roll out the schedule.
We'll be excited to see who comes through.
Ian Rapport, the Arizona Cardinals
are gonna have a good one.
Yeah, they did.
Shout out to the Arizona Cardinals.
We know the Chargers are gonna crush it.
Always do. For sure. We know that they're gonna do well
We know a couple of these Carolina Panthers probably gonna do good. Yeah faith Miami mine. Do we know Miami?
I feel like they typically use their surroundings pretty well
Cowboys do star power, you know, they've had posty and others in the past true
I assume that maybe it's a Taylor Sheridan little skit that maybe he put together the director and creator of
Landman. Yeah. Oh, yeah, Jerry's doing some acting in this. I mean, maybe there's a chance of schedule release will be fantastic
I think Washington's gonna have a really good one this year commander seemingly everything's going going up that way
That's tomorrow's about what's that mention Raiders? Oh, yeah, Las Vegas Raiders Tom Brady's team. Yeah coming alongside
That's nine-year NFL, Darius J. Butler here.
Baby DeVon.
DeVon, good to see you.
You look really cool.
You're kind of a shorts onesie there.
I like what you're doing.
Interesting.
It's my first time wearing shorts.
It's like a romper.
You don't got baby likes.
I think you should, like Foxy should never wear
shorts on camera.
I don't.
Yeah, smart play.
You know, he's got a little stick.
Poochy Daddy shorts.
What are those?
That's what they call these. What are they called? Pochie daddy shorts. Oh, I like that. Oh, you got the coochie daddy shorts
Who's she? Hey what?
Gotta use pronunciation properly, you know
That's a tough name I got it no well no easy
That's a tough name. I got it.
No, well, no, it's pretty easy.
Nick's.
Oh, yeah, I'm just saying if you, I think you should just stick with Nick.
That's what I think personally.
Especially if you are of a particular race.
Sure.
I think you should just probably stick with it.
Because CK, if you say it quick, can have a different sign.
It can.
You know, I think you just stick with Nick's.
Yeah. And speaking of that, Nick's look like they're about to kind of punch air ticket to the Easter
Conference finals.
That'll obviously be something we'll talk about with Rich Paul and we'll also talk about
today with the toxic tables at Ty Schmidt and at Boston Connor.
Sorry about it for the Celtics, man.
Obviously I didn't get a chance to watch it live.
I watched it afterwards as I was traveling home from Monday Night Raw.
Jason Tatum, I believe with how much pain he was in,
okay, and I am not a doctor, obviously,
I have been somebody that has watched a lot of sports
and seen a lot of injuries,
with how much pain Jason Tatum,
who is a megastar, superstar,
a phenomenal basketball player,
obviously the Knicks are up at this point,
and it's late in the fourth,
so maybe the Knicks win regardless,
but nonetheless, the amount of pain
that he was kind of in there makes me believe maybe not what everybody is fearing, which is the Achilles,
but I am not a doctor. It obviously looks terrible. He got wheelchared out of there. Obviously,
the future is now in great speculation and question. He has an MRI today that's going to
give us more answers, but I think maybe they're not so much pain. Oh, I don't know con man
I am yeah
I am heartbroken for Boston and for Jason Tatum who has seemingly done everything right and never really got the amount of flowers
That I think he has deserved obviously we would assume seasons over for this year. What does it mean for the future of Jason Tatum?
Yeah, and it was in the middle of a master class. He played so well
He had 42 points at this point
I think you know me and Darius were talking about this earlier. It felt as though he was on his way to 50,
especially with the way, you know, he would have closed that game out. But yeah, I also
had those feelings, you know, maybe because he's so upset because of the way his foot
looks as he's being carried on. It's up. Yeah. Which we know, you know, when it's an Achilles
tear, it's just, it can't go up, it's just kind of hanging down.
But I thought it was more so the realization of,
holy shit, I tore my Achilles,
which is why he was writhing in,
maybe not pain, but just emotion,
why he was so emotional being wheel-chaired out.
And it really is a bummer,
especially because of what Shams has talked about
with the changes
to the roster that are inevitable after this year.
And now, if it isn't Achilles, worst case here, kind of preparing for that.
He's out all of next year.
Next year is a complete wash.
We saw this with Kevin Durant, and granted it wasn't the finals when he toured his Achilles,
but he went from Golden State to Brooklyn and he missed the entire first year when he
was in Brooklyn. So you're praying that it's not that not that but yeah at this point it is doom and gloom in New England in Boston
I'm not gonna say the series is over just yet
I still have a little bit of faith and you know the boys in that locker room and Joe Mazzulli and Jalen Brown
Being the first option, but last night was tough and to be fair
I don't know what if Hembo sent
you something but I'm pretty sure the Knicks missed three shots in the fourth
quarter they were like that. That's kind of their MO. Yeah they earned it. That's kind of the Knicks MO is that in the
fourth quarter especially the Brunson burner. Yeah. Jalen Brunson what he's done in fourth quarters what he has
accomplished you look down there at, fourth quarter points to the first 10 games
of one NBA playoff since 1997.
That's a long time.
A lot of dogs have played, obviously, in the playoffs.
That's where the superstars happen.
This guy's unstoppable in the fourth quarter.
He's not the only one, though.
It seems like it's an entire team mindset
that we're gonna keep this close,
and if we're in it in the fourth,
we're gonna go ahead and take this thing over.
That is a great trait to have as a basketball team.
Yeah, Bridges, Mikhail Bridges, I feel like when the trade happened, it was one of those
things this off season that was looked at as a big move. And then when moments like
this happened, I think everyone realizes it was a big move. Cat played extremely well,
didn't really have too much of an answer for him and Mitchell Robinson when it came to
offensive rebounds. And then Jalen was just so good at kind of facilitating. You know, we talk all the time about Brunson,
but there's an assist to bridges there after drawing a double team cat, great alley oop
to Mitchell Robinson and Mitchell Robinson. Again, I think he had five offensive rebounds
in legitimately four minutes in the first half. He was a massive difference maker, but
Bridges just could not miss. And then that was the story of, I believe game two, he had no points.
And then in the fourth quarter, he had 14 points. So they really did. They won this game. I wouldn't
say it was completely over when Tatum got hurt, but they were definitely on their way to a victory.
And the best part of this game, maybe not the worst part rather would be just the arena itself. It was electrifying in there the garden showed up
Yeah, not only the garden out on the streets as well, and I had a chance to be in New York
I forget who they beat that was Pistons. Yeah beat the Pistons
They beat Jalen Brunson hits at three game six to win a game six and this is what it was like
I mean, New York City has come alive and obviously the Knicks have always been a team
What's their name the full name the New York the New York Knicks?
Diba what is the name? What I mean longs I was born 86. I've only heard him called
Oh, you mean the old-school name when they weren't dressing players based on some things. What's that?
we learned in the city with Bill Simmons
about some of the people that, you know,
back then the teams would avoid certain players
when they were drafting,
when they received the number one and number two overall pick.
And actually, funny enough,
maybe that's why the old name of the New York team
was like that, because it is pretty screwed up.
Yeah, well, there's people trending
for saying the old schoolschool name you know trying to
yeah trying to really showcase a basketball. Nonetheless the New York
Knicks fans were in absolute abundance on the streets shutting down this city.
Now this has happened on multiple times during this playoff run. It's a
beautiful thing what sports can do legitimately and obviously they're up
3-1 and we've talked about these stats especially with the Pacers being up 3-1 over the Cleveland Cavaliers and it's gonna come up here continually
It's like 96% of the time a team is up 3-1 into playoffs in the NBA
They have gone on to win that series in all eyes now in the Eastern Conference and once again sucks for Tatum sucks for the
Celtics we are incredibly bummed out
It looks as if both of them have to get the job done still Joe Mazzullo is not just gonna roll over we we understand that Celtics are gonna be Cleveland Cavaliers
Donovan Mitchell game time decision not just gonna quit we understand that they're both great teams
There's a reason they're still around but all eyes now are on the Pacers and the Knicks
Yeah, in the Eastern Conference finals and obviously Tyrese and Jalen
They had a little bit of heat last year whenever they were battling. This is a good old school rivalry that's potentially being renewed and I think it's good for basketball
that it's happening.
Old school rivalry coming back, you know, Rick Carlisle after his last win over the
Cavs became the all-time winningest head coach in Pacers history when it comes to postseason
wins and you're talking about the different media markets, you know, Knicks obviously
in the biggest media market and us not so much here so if we can go have a good battle and come out on top, if you're a Pacers fan,
that'll be huge for the overall brand for the Pacers and
a guy like Tyrese Halliburton who has been phenomenal.
But we talked about it being a team effort.
That's kind of how the Pacers come to play week in and week out.
I mean, day in and day out, you don't know who's gonna be that guy,
who's gonna have a big game on offense, on defense, who's gonna show up. And it was like that last night with the Knicks when they were closing up, well,
going up 3-1.
You have four guys that score 20 points.
Obviously Brunson led the way with 39.
But yeah, man, it's gonna be a big time matchup.
If and when it happens, we know a long term storytelling with WWE.
We saw, I tell you, I'm sorry, sorry Brunson Halliburton in the ring.
So that would be awesome if they actually face off in the conference finals.
Yeah, whenever we went into the garden and did some gardening last year and
knocked off the New York Knicks, obviously they were not healthy.
And some of the Pacers remain healthy and everybody else somehow isn't.
Is that something that we're gonna compliment?
Maybe the conditioning, the depth of the team, and everything like that.
I don't know if that is a basketball conversation
that takes place.
I'm not gonna put it in there,
but the Pacers do seemingly show up in the biggest moments
and all of their guys are doing it,
especially over the last couple years.
And for the first time that I've seen,
Tyrese Halliburton was on a lower third on first take.
And it was like, who wins a title first,
Ant-Man or Halliburton?
And it's like, Tyrese! It feels? Ant-Man or Halliburton? And it's like Ty Reese.
It feels like you're finally getting a little bit of love,
brother, you've been our leading man out here.
And ever since you got traded, we have loved him.
And the way Carlisle coaches, the way the team runs,
the Pacers are the real deal.
But so are the New York Knicks
and they got a toughness trait.
Now let's go to one half of the hammer,
Cowboys AP tone.
To win the East now, what are the odds sitting at?
So to win the East, the Knicks are at plus 120
and the Pacers at plus 200.
So they're pretty close there, a little bit of respect there.
But I was just laughing because I was looking at the NBA
championship odds and the Pacers still plus 900.
Right behind them, those down 3-1 or the Cleveland Cavaliers,
potentially without their best player, which is hilarious.
But no, to win the East, the plus 120 for the Knicks,
plus 200 for Pacers, that feels respectable.
Yeah, it does, keeps them in the game.
And obviously you go back to the series',
whatever they're, the Pacers are minus 300.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are minus 5,000.
Yep.
Okay, they're minus 5,000 up three one.
Obviously Steph Curry on the bench last night.
Ant-man goes bananas
I got a chance to watch the tail end of that live and then catch up with the rest of that game
Jimmy brother tried his best. I understand they're trying to do their thing Steve curves trying to do without Steve Steph
That's gonna be a very tough thing that Timberwolves team phenomenal and then you think about the Oklahoma City Thunder. Here we go
Hey, you know that things obviously tied to two at this moment
But whatever you think about OKC and Ant-Man,
that's young, that is very young there.
And then you go over to the East,
you got Jalen Brunson and the boys taking on Tyrese,
and that's young there.
It's almost the dawning of a new day
for this particular playoff run.
I love everything about it,
I think the association has shown up in a big way.
The Tatum injury sucks, that is devastating,
but I think the NBA still continues to deliver. Yeah, I'm not sure. I'm not sure if it was the Luca in the Mavs who got rid
of the Thunder last year, or if it was the T Wolves who eliminated the Thunder. Maybe check
that because that would be another one of those kind of budding rivalries similar to, you know,
Pacers and the Knicks. I will say with the teams that are kind of left, especially the environments,
I think maybe when it comes to broadcast, we just do arena and fans because personally,
and maybe this is just my thoughts. Like when it comes to the environments, man, like whether
it's the Boston garden, whether it's Madison square, bro, whether it's, you know, Indiana,
whether it is the T wolves, even, even Oklahoma City, the environments themselves
are so sweet, so I like the announcers.
I think we can just scratch them.
I think we can kinda just send them out to pasture
and then we just let these environments kinda eat.
The situation that you're referring to, like last night,
we avoid that completely, especially if the Knicks
continue on, but it also just kinda gives these fan bases some time to shine
Yeah, we get it. Yeah and everybody's looking for a shot to shine
These fans are certainly showing up in a big letter. It was 16 counting down to one
Yeah, and now we're almost at four boy. We're about to start dancing
I know for golf YouTube TV gives you an option Nick sent this to me last night for a second option
Just to listen to the course sounds. I don't know if they do that for NBA and show games.
That'd be cool.
They might do that on the new platform.
New platform launching.
Yeah, might do it on that.
ESPN, flagship.
Learned Rich Eisen's coming back to ESPN.
Ciao, Rich.
Ciao, Rich.
We love Rich.
20-some years.
Wow.
Yeah, I'm a big fan of Rich Eisen.
Rich has been very nice to me, very cool to me.
He's going live noon to three, I believe, Eastern
on ESPN Plus.
Good time slot.
In Disney Plus respect.
Can't watch.
Yeah, I don't know.
Son of a bitch.
That feels very interesting, but also love Rich Eisen.
So I am cool with whatever.
That's a fascinating thing.
Nonetheless, the ESPN flagship that's about to be launched,
I think it's gonna have everything that ESPN has.
29.99 a month, all defined in one area.
Good luck to everybody and all parties involved there.
And shout out to Rich Eisen coming back,
one of the men who built ESPN,
especially alongside of his sports center run back into the
day, first ever hire for NFL Network, Rich Eisen.
On air hire.
Yeah, so I mean, he's been there, done that,
coming back to ESPN feels like a full circle moment noon three is fascinating for
sure is that a message means I don't know but cool whatever but nonetheless
we're happy Rich is back we're excited that ESPN is launching this flagship
thing and 29.99 I'll be excited to see who all you know because I think that's
the game yep that's the game is trying to figure out what people value,
what they don't value.
I assume it'll all work out.
What do you call it?
I don't know.
I believe it's just called ESPN.
I don't think there is like a big grandiose name
or anything like that.
I'm happy to hear that.
Cause I think they were trying to figure out a name there
for a bit and no matter what you go with,
it's not going to be more synonymous with ESPN than ESPN.
Correct.
Yeah. So I don't, I'm not privy to those conversations,
but I will say good luck to all the people
that are involved.
Are we on it?
I think so, they said we were.
I don't know if, that'll be a conversation
for a different day, but I think we're gonna be on there.
Cool.
So we're, that's Sam.
Yeah, so how does that?
You got choices right there.
This one or this one?
I respect it
Just like the NFL live crew
You know
Very agency frenzy day. That's right
You know, hey counter program us. It's all good. That's how it goes. Yeah, we like it. That's how we like it actually
Yeah, you know motherfuckers might learn but we we do like it. And we have responses as well.
I just wish we could watch Rich's show.
We haven't been able to watch it for years.
We haven't been able to watch it for years.
So whatever I heard, and I might've been a part of even,
you know, that entire thing potentially coming back.
I don't know who wants to tell stories
and what stories will be told of it all.
But it's like, yeah, as soon as I read to on Schafter Suite
that it's noon to three, I'm like, so, so we still can't have them on the show.
We can do another collab hour.
I'm on the show and also can't do it.
All right, joining us now ladies and gentlemen,
is a man who knows more about what happened last night than we do,
knows more about what's potentially coming in the future than we do,
and a man who obviously knows the association inside and out.
He's the founder of Clutch Sports Group, also Clutch Athletics.
Also a man who is going to go down as one of the greatest hustlers in the history
of the United States of America.
A phenomenal businessman, a friend of the program, ladies and gentlemen, Rich Paul.
Yeah, Rich.
Rich, what up, dude?
What's up, fellas? How y'all doing?
Hey, I'm great.
Not as good as Anthony Davis in that Dallas Mavericks team and your friend Nico, though.
Hey, we got the number one overall pick.
What are your thoughts on that?
And did I speak out of pocket there, assuming Anthony Davis was excited about what happened
last night as well, Rich?
No, I think everyone was excited.
I think, you know, happy for those guys.
I think good things happen to good people.
And Nico is one of those good people.
And so it's going to be exciting for the Mavericks
with Cooper Flack.
I think it's good.
Whenever you think about the draft lottery,
obviously we have LeBron on.
Thank you for, I assume, telling him
that he could potentially or should potentially
have a conversation with us.
And LeBron Versace was obviously met with incredible,
what he did for us so kind, still to this day,
so incredibly kind of that.
We're gonna call you back actually
because the connection's kind of gone to crap
as he's in a car from one business move to another.
But during the LeBron Versace,
this is actually what LeBron said to us
about understanding the assignment with the NBA lottery
Listen man
During the ball drop
You know during the the lottery drop
Cleveland got the number one pick
That's I just don't think that
Don't you see this? Wemby with the Spurs.
Oh my God.
Let's keep LeBron home.
You know what? Patrick going to the Knicks.
You know, Derrick Rolls to the Bulls.
I understand the assignment guys.
You know, so, you know,
I had to make sure that,
you know, I had to do my part.
I didn't want to be a fuck up. I just didn't want to be a fuck up, man.
Like I said earlier in the show,
like, no one gets this opportunity, man. It's zero to none and I couldn't be a fuck up. I just didn't want to be a fuck up, man. Like I said earlier in the show,
no one gets this opportunity, man.
It's zero to none and I couldn't be a fuck up.
So that's what came with it.
Amen.
I appreciate that mindset out of LeBron,
but him saying that,
and obviously Dallas Mavericks having a 1.8% chance
to get the number one overall pick
has obviously recirculated around the internet.
And Kyrie Irving even put 1.8% with double cry.
It's like everybody's reaction around the NBA is like, what are we doing here?
This is real.
What are we doing here? Why are we doing the entire kind of song and dance whenever we
kind of understand what's gonna, yeah, Kevin Love is just like, come on, what are we even
talking about?
Now I'm not saying players would be on the inside of this information anyways. Players
obviously we saw what Draymond Green said to the ref the other night.
Players are living in the same reality that we are in
and it affects their life a lot more.
But Ernst & Young, you know, the accounting services,
they oversee it.
So I don't think Ernst & Young is necessarily thrilled
that people automatically assume that this is a rigged gimmick.
But I do know that Mike Greenberg,
the impassioned speech that he gave this morning
about the lottery and what it does for the sport
and what it does for teams that are trying to get
the number one overall pick
and inevitably they don't get it.
I did appreciate that.
And now he started popping off at the mouth
about how the NFL needs to start doing this.
Grainy, we love you.
You're in multiple Hall of Fame's.
You're gonna end up in more Hall of Fame's.
The NFL is good.
The NFL, we are A-okay in the NFL,
but the NBA and the NHL instituting these lotteries and then having a higher percentage if your team stinks to get the number one overall pick.
Inevitably in the NBA, the worst team in the NBA the previous season has never gotten the number one overall pick.
This year actually the Utah Jazz had a 14% chance.
We talked to Ryan Smith, the owner, and they end up with the fifth overall pick actually.
What's the fifth overall pick in any NBA draft?
You're right, nobody knows
because that is kind of how the NBA draft goes
in this entire thing.
Ryan Smith put out a tweet this morning.
I woke up frustrated, won for a run,
probably played some hoops, audibly screamed,
sun peeked over our mountains,
ran into a fellow disappointed jazz fan,
remembered this is Utah.
So getting back on the horse with the best fans in the league because it's what we do here goal
doesn't change now
Goal is certainly different now
What are you gonna get the goalposts have certainly changed a little bit rejoining us ladies and gentlemen founder of clutch sports rich Paul
Rich good to see you appreciate you jumping back in it's our fault not yours on the technical aspect of it
But there is like an illusion that this is kind of a rigged operation for people
Why would it be for the Dallas Mavericks in your eyes? And why do you think the Dallas Mavericks?
Why do you think people think the Dallas Mavericks got this just because Nico?
Traded away Luca for the good of the NBA is that kind of what the conspiracy is?
Yeah, I don't believe any of that.
I think.
You know they had the 1.8% chance
has happened before several times,
so you know I know what people
may think that and the conspiracy
things but that that could be
further from the truth. Yeah,
Cooper flag guaranteed number one
overall pick is kind of what everybody's saying.
How do you view him as an NBA prospect? And what are your thoughts on people saying maybe the
Mavs trade this number one overall pick to get another mega star? No, I think there'll be no
trade. I think the Mavs take them. And I think it's the right thing for the kid. Obviously,
there's been some teams there that would have loved to have them.
But I think when you look at Cooper Flag,
look at where he's at today,
his ability to develop next to guys like AD and Lively
and also playing with the Kyrie once he's back,
I think it helps him.
Oftentimes guys go number one
and we put so much expectation on these young players and that's not really
Realistic and so this allows him to develop on a real timeline
He gets to play through mistakes without all the pressure been on him to throw the ball and expect him to get 25 30 points
Again, that's not realistic, especially
Equating to wins and so I think this would be a great environment for him. Not saying that if he went to Utah,
if he went to San Antonio, it wouldn't.
And I know you think number one,
you think the guy right away,
but it's okay to develop into the guy.
Like there's nothing wrong with developing into the guy.
So I think this will be a good fit for him.
Dallas was in the play-in game,
which I think is why everybody's so mad.
It's like this team was good.
They got a lot of great pieces.
They were obviously injured for a large portion
of the back half of the season post the Luka trade.
What could they possibly be?
Especially with Cooper Flag coming in.
For us, we don't really know the ins and outs of the salary.
So like a rookie deal is obviously much more feasible
than a veteran deal.
So whenever you can get a rookie contract into your room,
especially at a key position like quarterback
or something in the NFL, you want to do that.
In the NBA, Cooper Flags deal a massive benefit for them
in how they can shift the salary cap,
or is everybody getting paid a shit ton of money,
especially number one overall pick?
Well, it's not just the contract,
it's the production from a play perspective as well.
So that's why he won't be traded because trading,
you hope to have a player at his level being paid
what he's being paid, although that number one money
is a lot different than the super max players money.
And so if you can get the production level high
and the pay potentially lower than what it normally would be
if you had to have a
super max guy come in.
That's really helpful to the team and their flexibility moving forward and things of that
nature.
And so once you start getting to the first apron and the second, it just makes things
too difficult.
So this is why to me, as well as just who Cooper could become.
I think you keep the pick.
I think Dallas will keep the pick.
And I think it'll work well for both sides.
Excited to watch Cooper flag developing in football.
We say, you know, if you go to a good situation, you already got a massive head start.
Cooper flag going to a team that could have made the playoffs, especially if they were
healthy massive head start for his career.
Good luck down in Dallas and congrats to Mavericks fans.
Yeah, congrats. That was a tough run. and congrats to the Mavericks fans, man. Yeah.
Congrats, that was a tough run.
And congrats to your guy, Nico, too.
You said good things happen to good people.
A lot of people weren't saying that about Nico just a few months ago.
And then now all of a sudden, back on top of the world.
You mentioned the San Antonio Spurs.
AP Tone has a question for you.
Yeah, you did, Rich.
And a lot of people think they got the number two pick now.
So that gives them a ton of ammo to potentially go make a big move. Obviously, they have the last two rookies of the year in Wembee and
Castle. They trade for Darren Fox. Do you think with that number two overall pick, they
could use that to go get someone bigger? Do they just keep loading up on young stars for
the future?
Yeah, I mean, look, they could package two and 14 and go and get something. They could draft too and do something with 14.
They have a lot of options here.
But again, what do they need?
I think they're the type of team that we've seen draft meet.
They've been, they hit it pretty well over the years with Castle and
obviously Wimby, even guys like Devin Vaseo and they have young guys,
like Kelton Johnson.
So they have a good young core and then when you add like a De'Aaron to that, you know,
again, it's San Antonio. So it wouldn't surprise me. They're going to be very strategic about it.
They're going to be patient about it. And when they do things, they do it with intent and purpose. And so I imagine that they look at this draft and try to look at age, timeline, production,
the ability to develop and make the best choice for organization going forward.
They're gonna make a long term choice for sure.
There are so many storylines at the top there.
Like if the Sixers get the number one overall pick, everybody would say it was rigged for
the Sixers. If San Antonio Spurs would have
got it, everybody would have said it was rigged for the San Antonio Spurs for
Wemby and Cooper Flag. I mean if the Utah Jazz would have got it, there's no
storylines. It's just Utah Jazz sucked last year and they kind of got it. So I think we
could have made conspiracies out of everything. The fact that 1.8% got it and
they were a play-in team, wild to think about the possibilities. Good luck to all the teams finding
what their potential home is.
Now, with that being said,
Yonis is a massive piece of this.
That is why people were thinking
the Dallas Mavericks maybe trade that number one pick,
get Yonis in there.
And if you have Yonis, AD, Kyrie, Clay,
what type of team do you have in Dallas all of a sudden?
It's an expensive one,
but let's talk about the Yonis situation.
Go ahead, Ty. Yeah, Rich, with all that happening. Where do you think the most likely landing spot is for Yanis now?
The sportsbooks still have Milwaukee as the favorite but it's come out that he'd be interested in playing in a you know
No income tax state. I think that's why a lot of people maybe made connections, you know with the Mavericks, but
Considering everything that
happened last night and kind of what we've heard so far, what do you think the most likely landing
spot for Giannis is? That's a good question. Look, I think he's definitely, if what's being reported
is true, he's opened the door for Milwaukee to look at things. I think you have to partner with Yannis,
given the fact that he did win a championship there and he signed an extension. So part of that
would be, hey, they get me somewhere where I want to go. The likely spots, I mean, look,
it depends, right? If you're Yannis, he's 30. He has three years left on his deal with a player
option. He's 62-8. He already won a championship.
And so do you want to go to a team in which you can now build something that's tailor
made around you?
I imagine he wants to stay east.
And then, you know, it depends on what timeline he's on, the type of patience that he has.
And in that case, then you can look at him stand right there in Milwaukee if he if he has the patience to allow them to to kind of regroup or readjust
here so look targets I don't like to play fantasy basketball guys but you know there's
there's several teams out there that he could be traded to with assets that can come back
I think he would work with the with the Bucks to try to help them at least get some talent back. But then that team also has to have enough to move
forward on a two-year timeline. I imagine to be really competitive. And so you look at teams like
the Nets, obviously they have the picks from Phoenix and the trade. I mean, I'm sorry, yeah, Phoenix and also the Knicks.
You look at Toronto who has young assets, big market.
He would be huge there obviously.
And you have to believe in guys like Nassai and Bobby Webster.
And then there's teams, you know, what do you do?
I know San Antonio, I know there's Houston,
but I don't know from San Antonio's perspective age-wise and
you know roster-wise, does it make sense? Maybe, maybe not. I know people think
Dallas, I just think don't think they can do it and so it's not as easy as people
think. When you have big names you think oh they could just go anywhere and
anything could be done.
There's a lot of complications to these things.
And so we'll see how it unfolds.
It's exciting for the league though.
And the one thing I will say is,
Giannis has done all he's been asked to do.
And so if he wants to leave, great.
And I think the Bucks have done right by him.
And so I don't think anyone would be at fault.
It's just business.
Yeah, it just didn't work out, right?
It just didn't work out.
Maybe a new home, a nice fresh beginning.
Maybe the Bucks were able to get some assets.
I love the fact you said,
I don't want to play fantasy basketball
because that's what we just assume you do.
Yeah.
Yeah, we assume you just do a fantasy basketball
all the time.
Let's talk about current basketball taking place,
the playoffs, obviously.
D-Bud has a question for you, Rich.
Yes, sir, we're just talking about,
Yonis, the last two MVP finalists,
Joker and SGA,
haven't really been playing their best basketball
the last few games,
but Game 5, Big Game 5 and OKC tonight,
which team do you see bouncing back
and also which superstar do you see bouncing back
and kind of getting back to form?
Oh, man, this is a big game.
Normally the guys who win game five went to whole series, they say.
That's what statistics show.
I imagine OKC's at home.
Ooh, this is a tough one.
I do think SGA and Jokic play better than they have played in the series.
But this is why you have great teams, you have great depth.
And I think their teammates have lifted them up.
You've seen guys like Aaron Gordon make big plays,
Russ has made big plays on both ends of the floor.
And then you see guys who hadn't played all series like the Wiggins come in and
make big shots, you know, Caruso's.
He does what he does best, as you know, he just affects the game in so
many different ways that may not
show up in the stat sheet.
And so
I don't know it's tough to tell who
was tonight, but I do think the Stars come out to play and
it's been it's been a great playoffs. Yeah, I think it has
been a great place and you talk about the teams in the depth,
you know not just the superstars playing their best
can we chitchat about LeBron saying on mind the Game about how there's eight other guys on the court
and everybody attacking him for that?
What do you think he meant by that?
And how much is it such a team basketball thing
whenever it gets to this stage of the playoffs?
Because I think a couple of stars
can carry you through the regular season.
I think a couple of stars can win you a lot of games.
When you get to the playoffs, every team has guys.
Every team has stars, every team has depth.
What do you think about what LeBron said
and the reaction that came from what he said?
Well, I think anytime LeBron says something,
it's always gonna go viral,
but it's always been a team thing.
It's never been an individual thing.
And if you look at the teams as one championship,
those have been really great teams.
You can't look at a team that has won and say,
oh, they have one great player.
And so he led them and they won the game
or they won the series.
That's always been very misleading.
And it goes back to any other GOAT conversations
you want to have.
You got to compare the GOAT with their teams
and also their front offices that help make the decisions
to put the players around them.
And so I think, you know, LeBron's gonna always be criticized, whatever he says,
people gonna look at it a certain way. But I think he's right. I think, you know,
people say, well, I'm just being biased, obviously, because that's my brother. But it's just,
when you know basketball, you understand that you have to be able to go eight, nine deep.
You have to be able to have flexibility and be able to change it in terms of match.
That's like you look at this Cavs Pacers series.
I imagine, you know, I'm looking at it, the Pacers have been benefiting from the Cavs
not going small.
You know, I would start Evan at the five and bring Hunter at the four.
That way you can be able to match with the pacers and that speed of the game
and that way Jared Allen is not exiting out trying to close out on guys like Siakam.
They're getting off to great starts because again it's very hard to defend that pace but
if you can match that pace by adjusting the game plan a little bit and starting Evan at
the five and putting De'Andre Hunter at the four, now that gives you another guy on the floor, a spacer, and then a guy that can defend.
And so it may slow them down in their fast start.
That could change the series.
I mean, it happened with Iguodala when the Warriors decided to go small with him and
move David Lee to the bench, that series.
And so you have to be a professional in these times to understand that things may change and so
that goes to having depth you can't do that with just two stars everyone was so
done hoe about Luca and and and LeBron I wasn't I never thought that that would
just mean that they're gonna win the championship names don't win the
championship rosters to would have been cool though. Yeah, very cool.
Would have been very cool.
And I do appreciate that you're still an Ohio guy.
Let's not be giving any tips to the Cavaliers, OK?
Let's not be giving any tips.
But listen, I love Rick Carlisle.
Rick Carlisle's a hell of a coach.
He's been a hell of a coach everywhere he went.
So it doesn't surprise me, the chess match in that series.
And that series, obviously, last game was just a blowout.
But when you think about it,
all these series are closer than you realize.
Littles and Steph, I mean, the Warriors just can't,
it's just hard to, you can't plug somebody in
to replace Steph Curry.
That does not happen.
Can't plug three people in to replace Steph Curry.
So certain things you're not gonna be able to get around.
But even in the Knicks Boston series, I mean, you've seen the stat. Boston,
the Knicks has only led 24 minutes in the entire series. They up 3-1. 24 minutes, they've led
24 minutes and 55 seconds to be exact. They've led in the entire series and they're up three to one.
the entire series and they're up three to one. That's not stars. You get what I'm saying? And so if you understand our game and you really live this, you understand the importance.
And people will say that, well, the Knicks don't have any depth. They built that roster
to compete against the team they're competing against. And, I love the game. So I watch all these games
intensely. Um, but it's great. It's great for the league. I'm excited.
Hey, what is, what is the, what is the next name? What is there for the New York, the New York, what is the name of the basketball team?
Nick's no, there's a bigger name.
The old name, we know what the old name is. What is it?
Well, you guys aren't seeming to say it, so I'm not going to say it.
I think you're okay to say it.
From my understanding of the word, I don't think I should be saying it.
Yeah.
I don't think I should be.
Connor should not be saying it.
I'm a little lost on the history there. But well, if you say I can
say it, then that that is saying whether he's something totally
different. So yeah, yeah, I think you're starting to get it.
I'm at the I'm at the draft combine. So let me ask, let me
ask the history. I mean, someone has to know here. No, the
history is just last night. Yeah, what set the name and boy
you say it quickly. I think a lot of people go, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What was that? Oh, I missed that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to miss that too with my mouth for the rest of my life. That's what I learned last night. That is the New York Knicks. Yep. New York Knicks. That is their name, full name. And that's how it should be said. Great name. Yeah. What's it come from though? Like Nick's? I don't think I fully
I mean like I said, I've been since 86. It's been a Nick's my whole
How about Bruce Bruce? What's the name Bruce? What's the name of the New York Knicks? How did we get to Knicks?
The Knicks are named after the niggerbocker club in New York, which is like
The Dutch settlers from like gangs in New York times basically.
Okay see see what just happened there Rich? A little close there. I think he was a little
bit too confident. I don't think that should have came out of his mouth right there. See
that's a little difference. Yeah that's a little strong.
Connor has a question for you Rich. Yeah I need to spread that news Rich. But with everything
you just said one of the teams the teams that I guess was playing with
just two stars that never got it done would be the Suns where Kevin Durant is and that's kind of
exactly what the problem with those teams were was they didn't have any depth so that when they got
to the playoffs they kind of completely collapsed and KD is one of those players this offseason
with Giannis that is at that level of one of those stars maybe a little older but still
At a supreme star level that's also on the block
How do you see that going with Phoenix because obviously it feels as though that
conversation has been going on for a pretty long time with this being Katie in the front office where Katie and them have kind of
Agreed that they will work together to get Katie to a
Specific place do you think Yanis is kind of available for a place like that and Katie?
With Milwaukee and then for you personally on the agent side of things when does this really start heating up?
we know the draft is pretty soon after the
Finals are over but when for agents is it heating up? We know the draft is pretty soon after the finals are over, but when for agents is it
heating up? Is it now? Like do you think Giannis' agent is making calls now, figuring stuff out with
certain teams? Is it till after the season or when is that going to happen with Giannis and some of
the teams? And what about Kevin Durant and the Suns? Well I think the Kevin Durant, Giannis piece is definitely a no go.
That doesn't work the timeline for the for the Bucks and, and obviously Phoenix
will love that. But I think look, I think Kevin Durant is Kevin Durant.
So we don't, we don't have to spend too much time there.
We know who he is and what he brings to the table.
It's just about cohesiveness.
And sometimes
you get to a place where you just don't have that balance amongst rosters. I think I talked
about it and everyone kind of went on the uproar when I talked about the Miami Heat
and what people thought was a big three and what I didn't think was a big three. That
wasn't a knock to Chris Bosh. That was actually tipping my hat and the respect to Chris Bosh that was actually tipping my hat and the respect to Chris Bosh because of the sacrifice
that he had to make to have cohesiveness to win championships. And so in Yannis' case though from
an agent perspective, yeah I think you sit down with your client and really have the hard
conversation with them but you gotta understand guys most athletes don't like to be the bad guy.
They don't like to make these type of decisions and they don't like the
fallout that comes behind it. And so it's not as easy as people think because no
one wants to get to blame. I'm a very straightforward, very matter-of-fact guy
so it's time to go, it's time to go. And you don't have to be necessarily
apologize about it.
It's business.
We've done great business and it's time to move forward.
How can we help each other?
It's a conversation that needs to be had.
Everyone does their job differently, definitely different than me.
I know that for a fact.
So it's just one of those things.
But I imagine Giannis has said what he really feels.
And I think there's a world where you do this with the team that he's currently on
and show that respect if that's what he really wants to do.
And then the work starts now.
Yeah, we're at the NBA combine.
So everyone's here.
All the every team is here and decision makers are here for
the most part, except for the teams that are currently playing.
And so it's a lot that can be done and it can be talked about.
And so these things take time though, it's not as easy as, again,
as people think it could be something that draft date could be later on.
But just depends, just depends.
So you're at draft combat, I think Shams is there.
And he mentioned the same thing yesterday
about how all the decision makers are there.
Shout out to Shams, by the way. Shout out to Shams.
Just saw Shams, the hardest working man in the business.
In your business? I like that. I respect that.
In the basketball world, I think that could be...
In the basketball world.
Yeah, in the basketball world.
And he's still so handsome, too.
I don't know how he pulls it off, legitimately.
He butchered a Dark Knight quote. Embarrassed his whole family really but
but whatever we talk about what he does from a basketball standpoint he mentioned
that draft combine being a big mingle because we have like a tampering period
here at the NFL combine where everybody comes to Indianapolis and all the
agents are here and everything like that. I don't want to say that's what
you're kind of saying this is right now, but now that
the draft lottery is kind of set, now that everything's kind of in order, do we know
everybody that wants to be on the move?
We know KD, we know Yannis potentially, we know the Lakers are looking for a center.
At this point, do we kind of know what everybody's looking for and is that why this is such a
good gathering of the minds in Chicago? Yes or no.
I look, I think that again, the players,
we know which players want to be moved,
but we don't know which team want to move players.
And so that's where I think it's at a disadvantage
for players, you know, it's like the dealer
only showing one card, but ultimately, yes,
this is where, you know, look, you can have
certain conversations, it, not tampering,
it's just dialogue.
And you know, it's really 20 hours of it.
You're in the gyms, you are in the hotel lobbies, you're having the meetings and things of that
nature.
So this is where, if there's a conversation to be had, this is a great time to have it.
You can make the same argument for summer league
Sometimes you can make the same argument for
you know
Final four sometimes, you know wherever you can get close to to to other
decision makers Dialogue can be at a bit perspective. So it's always
Combine is always a good place to be.
I love that.
I can't wait to hear what comes from it.
We appreciate you joining us.
I can't wait to see what the internet says.
What you said was outrageous today.
Every time you come on, something you say
just absolutely rose,
which is why we appreciate the hell out of your perspective.
And thank you for taking time out of your draft Combine
negotiation conversation time to chit chat with us it's always great to
come on guys who's winning it all this year you know what I said to be born
this shows so much parody I cannot tell you who's winning all right now I see
the odds I'm not a betting man So that doesn't help me at all.
But look, I think it's all about matchups.
There's a world where you can see Minnesota
get all the way there.
And obviously, OKC, they've been really good all year.
I know what the series are on the Eastern Conference, but I don't think Indiana nor the Knicks think that those things are over
till they're actually over.
So I don't know, it's just hard to tell.
But again, it's an exciting time for our league when you have this type of parody
and anybody could win.
And so we see the excitement that's in New York.
I mean, they win a game and the people out there took three
in the morning, which is incredible.
I think the garden is the best arena at this time to be in.
But we'll see.
Whoever, whoever goes, I'll be there.
Shaking hands, kissing baby, showing face.
At least for one game game I'll be there.
You know, that's been something that I've done, I don't know,
for the last 15 years or so.
I look forward to going.
All right.
Get those nice fresh feet on the wood.
You know, I'm Rich Paul.
I fucking run this league.
You know it.
I know it.
Yeah, maybe get a couple boards.
Put up a three if you have to. Yeah. Still got it. No, I don it. Yeah, maybe get a couple boards. Put up a three if you have to.
Yeah.
I don't run anything, man.
I know that's perception, but that's not true, man.
I try to, you know, I just try to do great business.
That's all.
Okay, Fame, cause we think you run everything
and we're gonna continue to view it that way.
We appreciate the hell out of you.
Ladies and gentlemen, Rich Paul, thank you buddy.
Yeah, Rich.
He does. Yeah. Oh, by far. You know, you you buddy. Yeah Rich! He does.
Oh, by far.
You know, you're honest.
A lot of things that are being said, I don't think reality.
It's like, okay, that means...
I just heard he said Toronto, he would be huge.
Which he absolutely would be.
Obviously international player.
Toronto, very multicultural city.
Huge success in recent history in the NBA and Toronto.
Yeah, tax situation up there.
If he actually cares about, you know,
a state with no income tax,
I don't think he wants to go to Toronto.
Do you hear players talking about playing in Toronto?
So much money.
Yeah.
Taxed.
Yeah.
Like customs every time.
Pull.
That's a headache.
That would be a nightmare.
Especially now with how everything's going.
You know, who knows if that's gotten worse. That would be a nightmare. Especially now with how everything's going. Who knows if that's gotten worse?
I assume it has.
Coming back into America, always the,
even for like American citizens,
let alone a Greek man whose work,
I couldn't even fathom what that whole thing is
whenever it comes to professional sports.
But the taxing is insane.
Now granted, they have reasons for it.
Hey, you do whatever you want you tax however much you want tax now
Where's the tax money go don't have that conversation? Obviously can't have that conversation. Nobody wants to have a car. It's making a world better
Okay, is it making our okay nonetheless, but we played a preseason game up there. I don't know if you're on our team
No, we played preseason game up there. I
Got tax more than what I made the week that we played. You lost 20, right?
Lost like $2,200 or something like that.
Because you're getting taxed on your full year salary as opposed to what you're making
that week.
And the preseason is like $1,800 or something.
I forget what it was whenever it was back in the day.
It might have changed now.
But we're getting paid like $1,800 for preseason games.
Everybody's kind of getting paid.
Whatever it is now might be bigger, different, whatever.
At the time, let's say it was 18 bucks and
I'm getting taxed like 30 something hundred because they were taxing me on
my full year salary so that had to be a full conversation to go back punted
three times in Toronto cost me three thousand bucks it was a it was very
interesting dilemma of learning about how life works but hey I'm sure there's
good reason for it but I'm just saying that is an added conversation especially
for professional athletes
with a finite amount of time.
And obviously the bigger the check,
the bigger the amount of money that's disappearing
from your check.
So if he ends up in a team in Texas,
boy, no state income tax.
Still have the federal tax,
which what's that going to become?
There's been a lot of things being talked about that
potentially becoming something different
over the next few years.
Let's make sure we're giving back but that's on that's obviously my back but like
Texas Florida Florida Florida has a no state income tax
I heard there was a little chatter about Miami potentially being in the honest
Why would the honest sign up for the Riley?
This is just me outside looking at look he doesn't take me as a guy that's gonna run away from discipline
I'm running away from the heart
He's that kind of guy. I know kind of once it's the other players
It feels like a lot of time with the honest team that become the problem whether they're not all the way bought in
You know, there's a lot of stuff about Dame when Dame came how you know, Milwaukee itself was such a transition that he couldn't
He wasn't around his family, he was pretty sad, it was hard to just focus on basketball.
And Miami has enough to give back to Milwaukee,
where Milwaukee would get good players.
Who do you say, Nets?
Yeah, Nets, obviously that's a big market.
Rockets, he said maybe, doesn't know if that's a thing.
San Antonio, he said doesn't feel like that's a thing.
He was very high on Toronto, which is interesting,
we'll hear what Yonis has to say. but who knows what's real and what isn't real
I guess that's why the draft combine conversations are currently taking place. Good luck to all parties
I think there's an odds-on favorite at some sportsbook that says he returns at a box. Yes
Because you're honest ultimately super loyal guy has been a super little guy to the bucks
Even though they haven't made any changes who knows what sportsbooks know
We will continue to follow that story as we continue to
follow the NBA playoffs now there's a massive story coming out of the NFL Trey
Hendrickson is in Cincinnati we seen him wearing a polo and like dress pants and
loafers walking to the practice field with the young Bucs so we all thought to
ourselves oh maybe this means something good has happened because he's showing
face he's walking across the city street to get to the practice field,
classic bangles, this must be a good thing.
Then Tom Pelicero said, nah, there's no breakthrough negotiations.
He is only there to speak to the local Cincinnati media.
Well, I thought to myself, well, why would he be going out on the field doing a whole
song and dance if he's just there to talk to the media and say negative things?
Well, he did.
He talked to the media.
He did not say
many positive things. Charlie Goldsmith here has been reporting basically every single quote.
Trey Hendrickson, a little transpired between me and Zach, we've tried to keep it as little
as personal as possible. At some point, it becomes personal. He said he was told he'd be
fined if he didn't show up for mandatory camp. Okay, that's not right now. That is not till June.
Very interesting scene here as he talks right in front of
in ongoing practices Charlie Goldsmith. He also said other things have transpired. The importance of me being here in OTAs doesn't seem to be
respected. We gave it our all for Lew's defense. We fell short. So he wanted a deal to be done before OTAs.
Like hey, I would like to get this done before OTAs so we can have a full season.
Yeah. And then he says the importance of me being here, I guess just doesn't matter at all.
They've done right by their own perspective.
My perspective obviously a little bit different.
Remember Trey Hendrickson was told last year,
we'll take care of you next year.
If you do this entire thing,
they kind of been pushing this off.
And if you listen to JJ Watten and Domic and Sue
talk about how often this is actually done in the NFL,
I think it's a normal play by the teams.
And I don't think players ever like it,
especially if you're the sack king. Hendrickson is saying that his understanding was that if he continued to play at the teams and I don't think players ever like it Especially if you're the sacking
Hendrickson is saying that his understanding was that if he continued to play at the level he has an extension would happen
The team has been pushing for a shorter deal pretty hard. Okay, let's continue to scroll, please
Hendrickson said a long-term contract with guarantees is a sign of mutual respect and lets him be able to stop negotiating every off season
I'm very disappointed with communication. No direct answer on if he'd play without a new deal.
But I did see other reports say that he would not play
under the current contract that he has.
He's also said if Charlie Goldsmith's reporting
is accurate, which we assume is,
it's become personal, unfortunately,
which most negotiations do.
People outside the business say,
you can't take your business personally.
It's like, well, what about whenever they're taking
personal shots of me with the way they're valuing me, I take that shit personal. It's always been a lot easier to
say. A lot of players in the past have been silent and didn't stand on values. Telling truth will set
you free. Comments are being made whatever happened at the combine. The owners meetings and we'll say
yesterday I don't spare my opinion says Trey Hendrickson. Hendrickson these things are provoked.
I don't know what that means obviously by the lack of respect. Hendrickson says circumstances
change post-draft. They're starting to change very openly. I know there are questions
around my name that need addressing. This isn't benefiting the team. I'm okay
saying that. It's a weird dilemma and he also said if I sat here with four sacks
they'd want a little money back. Okay but instead he's a sack king. They have the
ability to say they've done right by me. I'm not gonna apologize for the rates
that defensive ends are getting paid right now, which is 40 million a year
Hendrickson speaking to the media. It doesn't sound like he's saying things are good
No, what he's saying is I just want to let you know to please tell your people
I love the bangles fans, but this is ridiculous. Let's get something done

Sports!
What's happening all around us,
and we're incredibly lucky that we get a chance
to chat about it, that team right there
is all of a sudden looking like
we could be in the middle of parade season.
Let's not count our chickens before they hatch. Mm- hatch. But the NBA is certainly heating up with storylines and
injuries and obviously NBA draft lottery last night with everybody saying that seems legit
and the Dallas Mavericks ending up with the number one overall pick. The NBA is alive and well we
appreciate him for that. The NHL is as well. We'll have Big Rig, Patty Maroon joining us in about 39 minutes as he is retired from
the game of hockey after a 45-year career and now he's turning to the media world. Was on TNT
last night. He's a three-time Stanley Cup champion, an American hero. We cannot wait
to get his thoughts on what's happening around the NHL which is absolutely dazzling. Last night,
tough night for the Vegas quarternights. It might be the Edmonton Oilers year.
Conor McJesus might be the guy to seal it.
We'll see what Patty Maroon thinks.
The Talks at Table is here.
At Boston Connor, sorry about last night with Tatum.
It's okay.
At Ty Schmidt, sorry last night
about the Vegas Golden Knights.
Yeah, I mean, what are you gonna do?
You know, that game three, they used all their grit,
sandpaper, and jam to, you know,
get a W with.4 seconds left,
and then just got out classed
You know from the opening horn last night. You mentioned it. Mick Jesus has got a point in eight straight games
I mean, they just did not look like they showed up and they weren't ready to play and that's gonna happen sometimes
Especially when you got a just a nasty bunch of a lads like the Edmonton Oilers. They look pretty good
This might be the year. This might finally be the year could be the year
Hopefully they're miked up Hopefully they got make Jesus behind the scenes because they had them last year.
They didn't win. If they do if they win this year don't have the behind the scenes would certainly be a bummer. For those that
don't know hockey as well. There's and they just took the goalie out there just ran a goalie.
I mean a couple times that's been happening.
Yeah, it has.
It was a little dirty ball.
Little kippy last time.
He got pushed.
Shout out to Kane by the way, he's been doing that a long time.
I'm excited to get Patty Maroon's thoughts on old Kane
or by the way they've probably had a couple
moments on the ice together.
But Connor McDavid, who plays for the Edmonton
Oilers, and obviously he's huge in Canada
as he should be. He's been huge in
the hockey world for a long time. The casual
American hockey fan
probably doesn't fully comprehend
what this guy is. You're talking about an absolute wizard on the ice has never won a
cup. So everybody kind of holds that against him, holds that against them. And now he potentially
has the opportunity with this Edmonton Oilers team with the way they're playing right now.
Excited to hear what Pat Maroon has to say about that in about 37 minutes or so. One
after the hammer. Cowboys AP Tony's here nine year NFL vet host of everything DB good D bad D
There's J. Butler's
Mr. Hoochie coochie way down
That's the short you anger what'd you say the shorts are that Alan Jackson designed the clothes you're wearing the hoochie-coochie daddy
He talks about not a romper not a onesie
But yeah, just some shorts just a nice little set comfortable
Jackson that's not what you called those shorts in the first
I thought Lulu new our new our new you same shorts. Mm-hmm. What are they called coochie daddy?
Lulu limit. No, that's not what you said. Lulu. That's not what you said. You said that
that would have got a different response the first time. Yeah we were saying Lulu limit. I heard that's real comfortable.
There's some stuff going on with that but I respect everything. I believe you said Hoochie Daddy which is
defined as men's shorts shorts that are very short and tight exposing the
upper to mid thigh. Oh so you said Hoochie Daddy Oh, he said coochie. Okay. Got me. Wait down your
inch, hey hoochie shorts. That's what you got going on. He cut his teeth? Yeah. He cuts
other people's teeth. I think he has. They call him the dentist, baby. I wonder. Yes,
they do. Yeah. Beyonce didn't cut her teeth in the country music. No she didn't.
Now she's using robot.
She's from Texas, but she did not cut her teeth
in the country music industry.
That is not my quote.
That is music snob, country music critic,
D-Bone's thoughts in this entire thing.
A lot of good country music coming out right now.
Yeah.
Parker McCollum's new song, Big Sky.
I've run 30 times. I was listening to it
on a plane last night. I feel like, you know, I've asked Parker for years, hey, can you write a song
for me? Can you write a song for the guys? Feels like that song was potentially written for the
life that I am currently living, so I might connect to it more, but that guy's pipes shows me. Oh man.
It's a great song. I think Hardy's got a new album coming. Morgan's got a new album coming. I think
everybody in the country music world, I think Ernest just put out a new album. I think Hardy's got a new album coming. Morgan's got a new album coming. I think everybody in the country music world,
I think Ernest just put out a new album.
Blake Shelton, I think.
Yeah, Blake Shelton has a new album.
I mean, hey country, we appreciate you guys
showing up for us, especially going into summer.
Yeah.
Shaboosie dropping another?
Shaboosie's new song, Amen with Jelly Roll.
So good.
They just performed it.
Banger.
Absolute banger.
Somebody say a prayer for me cause the pills are gone and I still can Banger. Absolute banger. Somebody say a prayer for me
cause the pills are gone and I still can't sleep.
It's banger.
Jelly roll obviously hits.
Shaboosie I think only makes bangers.
Yeah.
That's like a nice trend for Shaboosie to have.
All the way back to, he has a song called Beverly Hills.
I think it's one of his first songs that he ever put out.
Cause obviously we all learned of Shaboosie whenever one.
He had to sing the same song a thousand times we all felt bad for him as he walked out there and then he started looking into like his catalog
it's like oh this guy's got like every songs a hit basically I think we can
we can trust that if Shaboosie puts a song out or Shaboosie puts his name on
the song it's gonna be a banger that's a big deal
Morgan Wallen's about to put out 50 some songs or something like that and they're all gonna be
they're all gonna be in the top then he stripped down I think his last album and
just did like like a guitar singing version of it those are all he might
have like 50 of the top hundred songs at one point this summer so I would say
that is a success I say that is a success in that entire thing.
Good luck to all of them.
Summer's here.
It is here.
Summer's here.
Starting to get a little thick.
Little bit.
Starting to get a little thick outside.
I love that.
We got a little smokehouse outside as Booker T. calls it.
You're gonna have a little fire,
have a little hangout time.
Should be a blast.
Joining us now live from an attic in Ohio
is a man who's a college football national champion,
Super Bowl champion, Ryder Cup winner ladies and gentlemen AJ
Hawke. Hawker how you doing pal? Doing great D-But you look awesome what do you
what do you call their shorts again? Lulu. Call him the name. You got the same ones on right now.
No he's got no shorts on he pees in the bottles. Yeah. Yeah. He's sure knocking never wear shorts. Yeah, no shorts ever. That's smart
AJ you got a little baby legs. I don't remember
I mean no one wants to have little baby legs. No, you know having big legs is a problem
You know, it's tough to find pants most shorts become as the bubble calm hoochie daddy
Guys are very tight, you know the When the inside starts riding up too,
makes you look like a fatso,
but it's not really that you're a fatso,
it's just that your legs are big.
You know, my thighs have been touching,
I think since about sixth grade, fifth grade.
So it's been not been easy for me to find stuff
with this big fat ass that I have for a long time.
But as I've gotten older,
it's starting to kind of disappear a little bit,
has made buying, you know, like pants and shorts easier
But then I start to question myself. I'm like am I losing it?
Do I if I need to am I still gonna be able to?
Am I gonna be able to get shoot on so yeah, am I gonna be able to have a good base?
So answered that yeah, we just did
I'll tell you what we
They showed a highlight of that thing. I didn't know in real time cuz I was gonna you know sure yeah
He's a battle. He's of course
He's a fight. He's most violent
They showed a highlight last night and Cole pointed it out. Hey his chest
Hey, oh, yeah
He was torn up for sure he felt it. He definitely knew he was in a fight that night. Okay
I didn't you know I didn't see that in real time
It was hard for me not to look into me or just see what I had going on
You know, I was like, holy hell what's going on with this guy top can't lay on my stomach
I think tonight maybe will be the first night that I could lay on my stomach
I the blood vessel my still a little still a little popped
Hopefully that'll kind of disappear in a bit, but I was watching how that my wait a minute
He had it he had to sleep on his back to potentially there for a little popped. Hopefully that'll kind of disappear in a bit, but I was watching how that my wait a minute He had it. He had to sleep on his back to potentially there for a little bit
There was a couple where I connected I was like
Felt like I did it
That's a big smack that right this is at the very come on. Oh look you got red. He's got
Bum there's a lot. He's got a little bit. Boom, there's a little, he's got good tan too.
He does.
And your dots at Austrian in them.
Not as good tan well.
Wise man.
They do.
Paul Heyman and Brattle Raker got a great tan.
Yeah.
Well Heyman's been on a boat.
Boom, big right, eat it.
Boom. All right.
You should put my hands up.
I was a little tired there.
Yeah.
But I also knew what was coming.
At this point, if at this point I was to get knocked out,
I think I'd be okay with it, you know?
I think, hey, this is it right there.
There's the big right.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, I had him wheeling.
Boom!
I thought that was gonna be it.
To be honest, I thought that was gonna be it.
This one too, bang!
I thought maybe that was gonna be it.
Bottom and a jaw there, nobody expected that.
And then boom, he was not down.
He was not done.
Instead, hey!
Boom! Yeah, that one, we can oh yeah playing it on Morgan and Morgan there I thought I was gonna
have call or that was joining us now ladies and gentlemen see man who has
never done that to anybody sure you're right yeah maybe his kids sure I hope
not yeah I hope that's not the case.
He's got a lot of kids. Not as many as AJ. Obviously AJ has an entire village.
Once again, Happy Mother's Day, Happy Mother's Day, Happy Mother's Day, Happy Mother's Day, Happy Mother's Day, Happy Mother's Day, to Laura over there.
And all the moms out there. Thank you. Joining us now is a man who was a 12-year NFL veteran quarterback.
Connor, you are not a mom. No, no no for my mom to you okay through that's very nice of your mom
anytime send it right back up the ladder there I will now he's uh I don't know if
he still is haven't seen any subliminal tweets in a while no sure there's right
what do you mean is he getting counter-programmed like we are by USP? Ladies and gentlemen, Dan Wolofsky.
Yeah.
Dan, we know you're cool.
Dan, do you know your?
Jeez.
Jeez, Luis.
All right, let's get a couple things out of the way.
Do you hit your kids like me and Gunther
were dropping each other on Saturday night in St. Louis?
No.
No, no, no, I don't.
I don't hit my kids.
I grew up in a house where I was the recipient of some of it.
But my boy texted me,
my boy did text me about that night that your fight, my boy, diehard wrestling fan Dave Phelps,
he said, McAfee put on a good show, but he looked like that wrestling shape got him.
Yeah. That in shape wrestling got him. Oh yeah. I would say I was pretty exhausted in there. Yeah.
Yeah. I was pretty, yeah. Yeah. You know, and he had me asleep at the very end and I there's numerous times during that fire
I was like I just walk outside this ring right now ref counts to 10 this thing's over, you know
I could just I could roll out of here. Nobody's gonna stop me. I could just run
I could sprint for the hills and go back to the beginning of this clip, please. So at the beginning of this clip
No, I'm sorry
Can you go back to the beginning of this clip, please? So at the beginning of this clip,
no, I'm sorry.
That's where I got it, sorry.
Anyways, so he had me dying in the sleeper hole pretty good.
And in my brain, it's, oh, it's over right now.
I'm gonna go to bed.
This is a good thing.
I can just take snooze right now.
I just kind of let this thing go.
His little boa constrictor arm just tightens around my neck
and I just go
sleep right now. That is just, and this thing's all over. And all of a sudden I
heard St. Louis, I think it was a little child said, no Pat! And I said, you're
right, holy shit. I found one last burst of energy. I get all the way up and then
all of a sudden I'm like, what's the right move here? I'm trying to think back to what
you're, oh obviously. Yeah.
Boom. I watched those back in
my head. Those are going a lot
faster and harder. I watch
those in my head. In my head,
those are really doing
something. I want to go back
and boy, I don't know if he
felt him. I think he was just
like, what is there's something
kind of hitting me here. Look, look, don't pat the kids head and I started rolling.
That's why I had to move.
I started feeling this whole energy.
I had him up.
Boom!
Like I thought that was gonna be a big one.
Boom! In my head, that was not really doing damage.
I'm gonna break this guy's ribs.
Boom! I'm gonna break his ribs right now.
And then I'm, say look, boom!
See, I'm even, yeah.
And then that was it.
You done good. Thank you. I appreciate that. I appreciate that. Yeah. I. And then that was it. You done good.
Thank you.
I appreciate that.
I appreciate that.
Yeah.
I do not hit my kids though.
I do the, I do the grab the back of the neck.
I like that's a control thing.
Okay.
I'll keep that in the back pocket for when Mackenzie starts off.
Like Yon is on them hard.
I like you.
You're my third.
You show power.
What are you saying?
Show strength.
I get it.
Yeah. All right. Mackenzie's getting to, she's two years old now. You show power. What are you saying? Show strength. I get it, yeah.
All right.
Mackenzie's getting to, she's two years old now.
She's got awesome sass right now.
She doesn't want to.
Yeah, it's coming, bud.
It's coming.
She don't want to do anything.
I mean, you're absolutely nothing.
Everything, no.
Hey, you've got to change.
We've got to change your diaper.
Mm-mm.
Yeah.
Like, is it going to be better for you in the long run?
No.
Yeah, we gotta do it.
It's embarrassing for me that you-
Are you a diaper changer?
Yeah, I mean, I, yeah, I can do the whole thing.
Not a great comfort level from me
with the girl diaper changing.
Why?
Just your own kids, all right.
Grow up.
Yeah, we do.
Not a, never.
What are we talking? talk like obviously my wife is
Much better much quicker much everything everything when it comes to this boys. I was fine boys find a girl
I don't know what just wasn't not not my thing. Just be a dad, Danny
Don't you do a whole pro dad thing in this entire know like one of your things do yeah the premise of it certainly isn't diaper-changing
Though well, it's part of it showing up. Yeah, the premise of it certainly isn't diaper changing though.
Well, that's part of it showing up.
I'll scroll through my algorithm.
I'll be scrolling through it.
All of a sudden I'll see your face going, listen up.
And it's a whole dad speech you're giving me.
I'm like, all right.
I appreciate you, Dan, for doing this.
You are a great father.
Obviously, the kids are going to be phenomenal.
You're a great husband and everything like that.
But yeah, I'll get in there and change the diaper if I have to.
I'll get in there and change the diaper. But right now I did. I just didn't like that. But yeah, I'll get in there and change the diaper if I have to. I'll get in there and change the diaper.
But right now-
No, I did, I just didn't like, I didn't,
there wasn't a comfort level with the girl diaper change.
All right, then.
I mean, we'll just, you're a dad, dude.
Never forget it.
My issue with her is you pick her up to do it
and it's a full flail.
She's trying to take a back bump.
Oh yeah.
In that entire thing.
And it's like, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey hey hey hey hey. So you gotta chop her down
right? That's just what I assume. Alright let's move along. Being a parent is awesome being a dad is
fantastic and I appreciate Mackenzie's sass. I like when she yells I like hearing everything.
I assume most parents. I wonder where that comes from. Yeah I enjoy it I keep speaking your mind girl. You gotta respect
their fight you gotta respect their fight.
You gotta respect that they had a little fight to them.
And then as soon as it's over, it's obviously hard.
She has real tears.
And you just kind of wipe her off her face and then she's distracted squirrel and now
she's off and running.
It's like, all right, we could have done this two minutes ago.
It would have been great.
Nonetheless, let's talk a little bit about the NFL, Dano.
Trey Hendrickson is on ground in Cincinnati.
He was dressed like he just got done golfing.
Allegedly he did just get done golfing.
He went over to the OTAs.
I believe these are rookies.
I'm not 100% sure who these all are.
But I think in this conversation he's saying,
yeah, I'm here, but I'm about to go do it
to this media here.
So he goes over to the media in Cincinnati,
basically lays out to the Cincinnati media
about how there's been little to no communication,
feels personal, they can make a long-term commitment to me,
they've chosen not to.
Last year they said they're gonna do this,
they haven't done it.
We're at the same exact position we've been for months,
there's been no change in this entire thing.
How much of this do you think
is a distraction to the Bengals?
How much of this do you think the Bengals get done?
And what inevitably do you think happens
with Trey Hendrickson, who once again,
we would like to remind everybody sack king of the NFL Jamar and T get paid obviously Joe is contract is good
they got a new DC new D line coach they're trying to figure it out over there and one of their
pillars is currently in a situation where he's willing it seems like to do business with the
team and the team just seemingly not willing to do business back.
What do you think ends up happening here, Dan O,
and what do you think is best for the Bengals and for Trey?
Yeah, I don't think it's much of a distraction.
It's middle of May right now, so, you know,
this is a team that's got a bunch of really experienced players,
so I don't find it much of a distraction.
I do know this.
If he's not on the Bengals next year,
I don't find them as real Super Bowl contenders
as much as I love Joe and Jamar and T
and they can go score with anybody.
We gotta remember, not only was he the sack leader
in the NFL last year, he did it on a defense
that was terrible and on a team
that was constantly playing chase.
So you guys know this, like when the other team
is controlling the game because they're up
by two touchdowns, you know, you're not throwing
the ball a ton if you're the opponent because you're up by two touchdowns. You're not throwing the ball a ton
if you're the opponent because you're just trying to make sure that clock is of your kind of like
your friend. So I think the Bengals, I don't want to say, you know, ruined chances because there's
a lot of time until the season, but certainly mismanaged it. And you have a guy that has been
an absolute star on the field. He's an unbelievable representative off the field.
And if Trey Hendrickson's a bangle next year,
they're one of those very small groups of teams
that you sit there and say,
yeah, they can win the Super Bowl.
If he's not, because you're not gonna replace him
in the draft this year,
and I know they drafted Shamar Stewart,
I just don't see them as legit contenders.
Shamar Stewart holding out, he actually said,
I decided not to sign the paperwork, as said, I decided not to sign the paperwork,
as opposed to we decided not to sign the paperwork.
Just one little word that could have been phrased differently.
We assume that'll get done because rookie contracts are.
His agent, Zach Hiller, I believe of LAAA is a...
Go getter.
He's a tough negotiator.
Really cool on Instagram too super really cool looking on Instagram
Yeah, he does look cool. Have you seen I wonder if he's wearing wait down your
She's got shorts. I wonder if he does that. I got I wear my eyes on Dan. We've seen you wearing them
Yeah, yeah, we see you wear those things
I'm conscious of it. You got those little baby legs though, too
So you can kind of get away with it, you know, no, no, no, no, no. No. I got I got good legs
Quad it up. You ain't got ham hocks there. Yeah. Well Dan, he can move he can move
You know that and he can like a gazelle I got a little I got a little hamstring injury right now, Boston Conner
Oh, you're going through right now. What's it from the cross practice or is it from working out? What is it from?
It's from the YMCA basketball run. He's like Steph. Yeah running too much.
How about Steph first time in his 16 year career?
Especially with how much he runs that doesn't make any sense. Alright let's get
back to the NFL. Trey Hendrickson's on the team you think they have a legit
chance. Trey Hendrickson's not on the team you don't think they have a chance.
There's a lot of teams that would love to have Trey Hendrickson on their squad.
He said today he's not sorry about what, you don't think they have a chance. There's a lot of teams that would love to have Trey Hendrickson on their squad.
He said today he's not sorry about what the market is for defensive ends.
That's not his decision, that's everybody else's.
Cincinnati could have paid him last year, they chose not to, they move on.
Hopefully Trey gets his money.
Good luck, Trey, we're pulling for you.
Go ahead, AJ.
Yeah.
Yeah, Dana, were you surprised to see the Derek Carr retirement and
that whole situation?
What do you think happens at the quarterback position for the Saints this year?
I'm surprised.
I guess I was taking it back that he ends up retiring.
Tyler Shuck's going to be their starting quarterback in my opinion.
I think you want him to be your starting quarterback.
I've seen a lot of people have the thought of, well, they should tank for arch manning
or sign Aaron or some things like that.
I just remind everybody, Derek Hart was a second round pick.
Now I'm not as high on Tyler Shuck as some other people were coming out of
Louisville. Obviously he's played a ton of college football. He's older.
So that should be a benefit for him. There is talent there.
Derek Hart was a second round pick. Andy Dalton second round pick.
One of the great quarterbacks in the NFL right now.
Jalen Hurd second round pick.
So it's not like second round picks can't become starting quarterbacks in the NFL.
Helen Moore comes over as the new head coach,
they're really good on the perimeter.
So I would start Tyler Schuck and make sure like, hey, we didn't strike,
if you're the Saints, you wanna learn in this year,
do you have to get a quarterback obviously in the next draft?
But I wasn't necessarily shocked by the
Derek Parr stuff obviously the reporting around it has been odd you know the whole
you know last and last season ends with injury and I got a text from somebody
the other day that said hey not a quarterback but do you really think that
Carr didn't have any idea about the shoulder injury until recently you know
and part of me goes you didn't play catch with your kids at all.
Like they're in, you know, I know he's video yesterday of him playing catch
with his kids, so you didn't do that at all.
And, you know, January, February, March, but I also, Derek Carr comes across
as like a pretty truthful person and not trying to hide stuff.
So, um, I can't imagine that it's shocking news to the saints because of the
situation, but nothing surprises me with the league.
I assume that he had a little bit of shoulder soreness every quarterback kind of feels that I think everybody that throws anything feels that
That's why you got to get that
Dan Rolofsky
Dan Rolofsky shoulder fixer thing
Shoulder reliever
Yeah, there it is the shoulder reliever. So I assume Derek Carr felt some sort of discomfort maybe in the offseason as he was doing things which is probably pretty normal
especially for anybody that does the throwing and then as he tried to ramp back up wait a second
this feels weird. To your point I don't think Derek Carr's lying you know I don't I don't think that's
something Derek Carr especially at this stage they said he uh surpassed 200 million dollars in career
earnings at this stage of his career. Congrats to him in the business of the NFL. Congrats on a great career Derek Carr and good luck to
the Saints figuring it all out down there. New head coach, new operation, new
situation. The Saints fan base obviously deserves greatness. We shall see if
they're able to pull that off in the NFC South. Now let's go to another quarterback
situation that's garnering a lot of conversation. D-Butt in his Lululemon fit has a question for you.
Another team that's got to figure out their quarterback situation.
Cleveland, Cleveland Browns, obviously got Joe Flacco there.
You got Kenny Pickett and then the two rookies with Dylan Gabriel and
Shadour Sanders.
How do you see this playing out for Cleveland throughout the season?
What do you think the plan is going through the season and
how do the reps get broken down from a guy who's been in the quarterback room for a long time?
Yeah, I would do everything I can to start either Shador Sanders or Dylan
Gabriel this year.
I would only start Joe Flacco or Kenny and probably Joe if, oh my gosh,
this is a disaster.
And if you're Kevin Stefanski and Andrew Barrow, their head coach and general
manager, you go, Hey, if one of these two kids starts, we're going to get fired.
If it's that bad throughout the preseason.
So I think Joe is just there certainly for comfort.
The reps, I don't think that I saw Kevin and I know you guys talked about this a little
bit yesterday, the reps, you know, like in the off season, specifically in that spring
period reps really don't matter who you're doing them with is the, but you know
this, you got, you know, the, the receiver fluctuation of this guy's only going to take
four reps.
This guy's going to take six reps.
This offensive lineman may not practice today.
So like a lot of times coaches are more trying to put you as the quarterback in situations
with certain people rather than certain number one, number two,
number three on the board type of thing.
So sometimes it's like, hey, you know, I want to see how he performs with the back of offensive
line against the starting defensive line, or I want to see how he throws the ball to
David and Joku, or I want to see how him and Jerry, Judy communicate stuff like that.
So that's a huge part of it too, rather than what guy runs out there first, one guy runs
out there second
I want to see him go against the starting secondary, you know
and so there's a lot of that that goes on with the quarterback kind of
moving chairs or musical chairs and the reps
Distribution but if I was Cleveland and because of the trade and knowing what 26 looks like for them
At least as we sit here today with the draft
and knowing what 26 looks like for them, at least as we sit here today with the draft,
there's not a ton of benefit for me starting Joe Flakel because it doesn't answer anything with the potential of next year's class and them figuring out long term at least,
what's the situation. So I would start one of those two rookies.
How do you feel from Dylan Gabriel's standpoint? Do you like where Dylan Gabriel is?
Yo, I really liked Gabriel. Gabriel was a guy for me.
I remember talking to Field Yates about Dylan Gabriel,
maybe like early November, and just sitting there going,
sneaky guy that could get into early second round.
And I think what for me kind of fooled me with Gabriel
was the playoff was such like a core representation of who he was.
I felt like it just did not go well, obviously boat raced by Ohio State.
And so that harmed me a little bit on Dylan, but he's played a ton of football.
He's got a lot of similarities to a player like Tua, not only lefty and whatnot,
but the ball distribution, the anticipation, the layering throws over guys.
So, you know, Miami, I honestly thought,
was maybe an interesting place for him
in that second or third round.
But I don't think Gabriel is a guy
that people should overlook.
He's a really, really talented thrower.
And by all accounts,
it seems like Shador's had a good start.
So I think one of those guys has gotta be the person
that as Cleveland in the next couple of months,
you go, okay, you gotta show me you can't do it.
Like you gotta show me that this would be a disaster
for us to start you, or we're gonna start you
and see if we've, again, like the Saints,
we got lucky on some stuff.
Dylan drafted two rounds.
Let me say this real quickly to end, sorry.
I actually always thought Cleveland was a significantly
better place for Shador than Pittsburgh
when it came to their scheme. Okay, so on that note
Let's go to Pittsburgh AP tone has a question for you
Yeah, Dan
I do everyone has been very critical of the quarter or the Steelers and how they handled the quarterback situation this offseason probably for good reason
How would you have handled it and now that we got you know, Big Ben 2.0 and will Howard is that put everything to rest?
Big Ben 2.0 and Will Howard, does that put everything to rest? I don't know if it puts everything to rest. I think Will's got a good chance in Pittsburgh.
I would have started with this, Tony. I would have said, Justin Fields, what's the number?
I would have, if I was going to obviously Monday morning quarterback, not get anybody in the draft early,
Justin Fields, what's the number?
You're gonna be our starting quarterback for this year
If it's if it wasn't gonna be Justin Fields, I probably would have been more aggressive for Jackson Dart and the draft
That was a guy that I always thought Pittsburgh Giants made the most sense certain Cleveland in that conversation as well
We all know that there could be the the addition of Aaron, but it's middle of May and you know, you have
no comment guys. I'm 41. I pulled my hamstring playing pickup basketball in the YMCA. So
obviously different athlete, much more talented human being than I am, but his age is what it is.
And he's coming off a little bit of a beat up season and injury last year. So that Pittsburgh,
the way I look at it right now, tone is there's no offense in the league that scares you less than Pittsburgh and there's no
Situation that has I mean, this is the truth. There's no situation that is more
Okay, I guess Browns depressing than Pittsburgh's right now
Worse in a league Craig, yeah
Which one is worse like let's if we're just looking at it on paper,
what team are we sitting offensively
and sitting there going, that team scares me
less than Pittsburgh does?
Colts.
Watch your mouth.
The Colts?
We got two quarterbacks.
The Browns.
One of the best runbacks in the league.
They got Caleb Johnson.
He's a dog.
Take a snap.
Yeah, it's gonna be good.
What about the Saints? Yeah, the Saints I guess would be good. Yeah, those are gonna be good. What about the Saints? Yeah, Saints
Yeah Saints the Saints probably in that conversation as well
But those two players on the outside the Saints have are really really good players really good players
How about the bronze?
scares me got DK sucked
Yeah, the Browns are probably but at least the Browns have like the two
Rookie quarterbacks that they drafted that have a little bit of like, and again, I know Will Howard was drafted
to Pittsburgh and we'll see what happens with that.
But we also know like the Browns have an offensive line that two years ago was one of the best
in the NFL and Joku is one of the best tight ends in the NFL.
How was that a lot last year?
That offense is fantastic.
I'm not saying it's that different, but you're not sitting here going Browns by far,
or for sure, no.
Okay, so you say the Pittsburgh State
offense is the least scary.
Is that in Acresure or is that an away game?
That's a good point.
That's a good question.
Panthers.
I don't think the location really matters.
Oh, yeah, okay.
This guy had no ball.
All right, sweet.
Okay.
Oh, mama.
I've been feeding for my life from the long, long,
of the long.
Right there, you already get a little,
like you get a little, you know what I mean?
Doesn't matter where it's at.
What a dumb dumb, this guy.
Alright, let's keep asking this guy questions.
I got no idea what just happened.
Once again, you need to stop saying this,
especially if you're in the middle of negotiation for talking about ball. Sounds like you don't
know ball. Connor has a question for you about ball that you might know about. I guess. Yeah,
Dan, another quarterback situation. You're pretty high on Jackson darts and photos are now coming
out of Jackson dart, Tommy DeVito, James Winston and Russ throwing, I guess Russ pooped down his shorts. I know
I was going to be able to get that out. What do you think about that? QB situation, Dan?
Oh, you're one of a kind. Did you practice? Did you do
OTAs with pants on? You put the pants on. I did just to be clear. OTAs. I would have
your football player. Yeah. You, you kick. I was a bad athlete. So I probably had tights
on to try to minimize the lack of athleticism or the presentation of it. Um, sure. It's
a little bit, but, um, let's out. I would say this for the Giants.
The Giants are, you know, and Dable and Shane, their head coach, GM.
I think you probably lean Russell early on and Russ is just really hoping to make sure
that you guys are winning games competitive and that the future of the organization is
that head coach and general manager.
I think Russ can play good enough. We saw last year to like give you chances to win games, right? Give you chances to win games.
And then I don't really believe that the Giants should rush Jackson Dart in the least bit. I said
this a little bit about Drake May last year and obviously it paid dividends for them New England
to play him. There's some flaws in Jackson darts game that
reminded me of Drake May. They're so physically talented. I called them lazy feet and that
could get you in danger in the league if you play too early. But if you're the giants,
you're probably thinking sometime like Thanksgiving world playing Jackson dart. He's got to learn
so much about quarterbacking the NFL and the huddle and the cadence. That throw was absolutely
beautiful. He played so good in that game till the final five minutes.
Huddle cadence. Yeah, there's the the
first I guess the thought process that well Jackson Dart would get to the line of scrimmage and Lane Pippen would tell him the coverage and
to play all the time and
you know, that's a negative because he can't think I
the time and you know that's a negative because he can't think. I actually look at it a little bit differently if you're well-coached which I would believe he is
at Ole Miss as long as he knows why he's getting called or why the play is getting
signaled from the sideline that's all that matters like you got to know what
we're getting into and why you can teach a guy how to get you there but you got
to make sure he understands why we're calling those certain plays.
And so I think that that gives him the great chance to get him a good understanding of
their offense.
But I just want to rush him because some of the physical flaws, which again, were those
lazy feet, but also just the style of offense that he played in college.
You want to get him really comfortable getting out of the huddle and at the line of scrimmage
before you put him in live games.
Yeah.
And, uh, you know, he had to make a lot of big time throws you know so I think he's very comfortable
in making big time throws obviously the team was put on his back on plenty of occasions he's able
to run I love his moxie I love everything about him he just didn't make the playoff and there
wasn't a lot of massive games you know whenever you talk about postseason stuff for him to play in
so I think that's why he slipped in the conversation a little bit Then then Connor found a stat. Yeah, it's something
I sent it to the group if you want to pull it up, but it's some sort of star predictor score prospect grade
SPS and I guess he has the highest score ever and then if you want to go in order it goes
Jackson dart with a hundred and then Lamar 99 Hertz 99 big bed 98 Pat
Mahomes 96. Yeah, there it is. And I guess this is some sort of actors. Yeah. But the
actual thing I forget where it's from empire made an article on it. I don't know what test is from. Okay. You don't get an SPS
Well, I mean shit a big deal and you haven't missed those are all the guys they predicted will be star
Thanks, and they hit on all did you not see Jackson's board work as well with able then he knows it
Okay, I saw it. I saw it man
I mean I was as high on them as I feel like I could be. So I thought he was gonna be a top 10 pick.
Candidly, I had a general, I told you guys this,
I had a GM text me saying, if they had a top 10 pick
and they need a quarterback today,
would take Jackson Dart.
So, yeah, I think that,
I think the Giants are in a really good place with them.
I thought he reminded me a lot of Drake coming out last year.
My favorite quality is a quarterback
and what do you do in moments of panic?
You know, like that's just the reality
of playing that position.
The NFL is like, you're gonna get into those,
oh my goodness moments.
And I remember Joe Burrow coming out of school.
I was like, he just does this better than everybody.
Jaden Daniels had it last year
and I thought Jackson Dart had it this year.
Okay, so whenever you say probably not until Thanksgiving-ish
and then you rattle off all the reasons
why rookie quarterbacks could potentially not do
Well in the NFL is that because he should watch Jamis or Russell kind of be a starter and the Cleveland Browns don't have that situation
or
because nobody's really thinking that the Giants are gonna win a Super Bowl this year either so well I
Think the thought process for me with the Giants is it starts with this Pat
if I were the Giants for me with the Giants is it starts with this, Pat.
If I were the Giants and I could fast forward to 27, 28, I want Brian Dable to be his head
coach.
I want Dable to be the guy that rooms this guy's NFL career.
So you have to win.
You have to be competitive this year, if you're Dable and Joe Shane.
And so the likelihood, unless again, he does stuff in camp that you're like, whoa,
he's good, like he's gonna be able to survive early on.
But the likelihood that you can do that early
and win games and be competitive and confirm
that you're the head coach for next year and beyond
is probably with Russell Wilson, more than likely.
And so again, unless things happen in training camp
where this guy's running the show
and he's commanding the huddle and owning the line
of scrimmage and you think he can handle some
of the bumps in the road early on
and get you in and out of your protections
and make the right decisions and consistently play
that position at a high level, then go play them.
Yeah, then go play them.
But I think with the Giants,
that's different from the Browns,
is I think once the Browns made that trade,
it was a clear declaration of,
we're looking forward at this position to 2026,
and we want two first round picks for it,
because that class had the chance to be loaded
like last year's,
where the Giants have kind of made the clear declaration when they take them in their first round of like we really like
this guy we want the head coach to be with them but there's the reality that
they can't go three and 14. All right we're on the NFL schedule release Eve
here a lot of games have already been leaked here international games have
been leaked some regular season games have been leaked. Some regular season games have been leaked. Obviously Cowboys, Eagles kick
off the entirety. Chargers are playing on Friday night, day after the opener down
in São Paulo, Brazil. A lot of people are saying that's against the Chiefs. We
haven't got an official release of that. Vikings back-to-back games. Broncos, Jets, Rams, Jags, Falcons, Colts in Germany.
Guten Tag, Germany.
Commanders, Dolphins in Madrid, Spain.
I'm excited to watch that.
Then obviously some regular season games
have been released.
Eagles, Packers on Monday night in November.
Bears, Eagles, a Friday night spectacle
in late November there after Thanksgiving
obviously that'll be on something Black Friday maybe Eagles commanders Packers
Bears and then Broncos Chiefs whenever you look at this what are you thinking
about as a guy that played 12 years in the NFL what a team's looking at and what
do you think the NFL is trying to do this year with its scheduling of games
yeah the Eagles are on like every week prime time.
So I'll be really interested to see,
I'll be really interested to see
who the Chargers play down in Brazil.
That'd be cool.
When they announced the other day
that the Eagles were opening the season
at home versus the Cowboys, my wife got so mad.
She was like, the Cowboys haven't done anything
to deserve opening the season
I'm like you're a maniac
She loves the Eagles right?
Yeah, she's crazy. Um the Vikings Steelers that in Dublin that's sick, you know, it's interesting Vikings back-to-back weeks
Did we have a team do that recently like we?
Jaguars have been
Yeah, not two different countries. Yeah
Dublin to London is a little bit of a different animal. Dublin to London is or
London to Dublin whatever it's an hour 20 flight. Yeah yeah very quick. I mean you're living over
there basically just for a few weeks and Jacksonville has done that in the past. Two different countries
obviously a little different. Congrats to Ireland getting a game by the way. That place will be
electric. Yeah that's awesome. You were there for college football that year, right?
Hup, hup, hup, hup, hup, hup, hup, hup, hup, hup.
Yo, you know what's interesting?
That Dolphins commanders game is mid November in Spain.
Yeah.
Must be nice.
Yeah.
Falcons Colts in Berlin, that's a marquee.
You know, Germany had what, two million people in the queue
waiting for their tickets or something like that last year?
Congratulations.
Congrats, it's Falkenskultz.
Shout out, love that we're going over there.
Is that Falkenskultz Patriots over there?
Commander's Dolphins, obviously.
That's a big deal.
Stupid question.
What is it?
Is all of Europe in the same time zone?
No. Boy boy you fool
No, it's so
Like a Spain five or six hours I
assume Spain's I hate if I had to guess and then welcome to the modern world
Like six five or six then as you go right it gets further in the entirety of it all
it's a big time that's what i'm saying that commander's dolphin's one that's a big time
zone change thing majiggy spain's way over there that's on the mediterranean i think germany's big
yeah yeah yeah yeah exactly germany i think spain's like germany's way over yeah germany's
further over in spain if you look at it, it does kind of line up with London and...
Yeah, so maybe Spain is not.
Exactly.
Yeah, so it's not that big of a country.
Spain's very close to Morocco, Africa.
So I'm not as dumb as you guys are trying to make me sound.
Well, no.
No, I mean, certainly dumb, you know,
cause there's definitely different time zones
in different places.
Obvious thing to know.
That is certainly a thing to know,
but I don't think we could have told you what the time zones were different places. Obvious thing to know. That is certainly a thing to know but I don't
think we could have told you what the time zones were at all. So I mean I got I got so many questions
about this map right now. So Russia's over there. What do you got? I don't know. Who does Iceland belong to?
What do you mean? Now or in like a year? So now you're giving full questions we don't need to dive into that
okay? We don't need to dive into that. JD Vance dive into that JD Vance has been taking trips I guess that has been and I don't think it's just
been to see the northern lights no which I think and go ahead yeah and Russia is
part of Russia Russia yeah what's that Asia Asia? Trying to visit.
It's split.
No, buddy.
Okay.
All right, all right.
I'm not too bummed about that.
I'll tell you what, I went over there for a WWE.
I went over to London.
I went over to Scotland and everything.
And as you're flying over,
you're trying to learn your like everything.
Cause you know, the maps on the planes will tell you like,
up and to the right is this, up and to the left is this.
I don't think the American education system did a good job on the whole
geography they try they try oh yeah we don't give a fuck about anyone else what about Canada dude
the geography bowl remember I want to know my kids I feel my kids know more
about world geography than American geography which is part of the problem
that is a part of the problem yeah we got we gotta, we gotta, I gotta take them, I gotta take them to like Washington DC this summer
or something and have some conversations. Yeah, I'm sure that'll help it all out. The, the uh...
That's because they're in it though. The further you get away from it though, the less you know
about the world geography and the more you know about the United States. Yeah, that's why the
are you smart in a fifth grade exactly
So good because these are fifth grade type things. All right, Dan
One last question for you from Ty about those international games in here
I got a question for D, but to when we end just real quickly. Sorry. Oh by all seven continent
Yes, sir. Yes seven contents D, but yeah
You wouldn't you guys started the show and whatnot, we were talking about wrestling.
You were in a fight with me in Polish.
Uh, I don't remember.
Was that Apple Nightclub?
You absolutely were a part of that fight.
Look, I told you when we, when Pat in the intro, he said, this guy's never, I said,
Hey, wait, wait a minute.
You don't know this, this day, you see this 41 year old there is not the tour
You were in a fight with all of us at Assumption College Oh
assumption allegedly
Watch your mouth that oh D. What was it? You is there nobody can track him. There's no photos of that
Might have been that one time Dan tried Captain Morgan. Yeah
He said no no
That was the last time
Dana so let me get this straight you're a
Booze bag brawler back in the day. Is that what I'm picking up here? No, no, no, no, no
But I we went up to assumption just because we had a teammate D button
Oh, so I'm talking about who had a boy who played hoop at assumption and
What's the and oh, yeah?
one thing led to another someone said something that they shouldn't and that
front door and
Yeah, no there lost you just probably with the team we're not saying I did yeah
I was just there with my boys. Yeah, it wasn't said to me anybody who's been on the team and you've been in foreign territory, you know
Absolutely, okay last question here about teams. I'm happy to hear that about you Dan. I'm happy to hear that
I'm pretty pumped to hear that guys pulling hamstrings now playing pickup basketball is 41 year old but back in the day
It's violent champion. He was a violent
He was a violent champion. He was a violent champion.
Okay.
Congrats, Dan.
I see that tape.
All right.
Last question here about these schedules and the international one that we kind of alluded
to a little bit there.
Young quarterback going to have to deal with it.
Oh, go ahead, Ty.
Yeah, Dan, typically, you know, the back to back overseas is, you know, reserved for
a team that sucks ass like the Jaguars or something like that.
So it's kind of weird that they're having the Vikings do that considering how good they
were last year.
What do you think the outlook for the team is going to be?
I think it's going to be a tough one.
I think it's going to be a tough one.
I think it's going to be a tough one.
I think it's going to be a tough one.
I think it's going to be a tough one.
I think it's going to be a tough one.
I think it's going to be a tough one.
I think it's going to be a tough one.
I think it's going to be a tough one.
I think it's going to be a tough one. I think it's going to be a tough one. I think it's going to be a tough one. I think it's going to be a tough one that. So it's kind of weird that they're having the Vikings do that
considering how good they were last year.
What do you think the outlook is,
or I guess like maybe the ceiling on the Vikings this year
with JJ McCarthy at quarterback?
Yeah, I think the Vikings could be very similar
to what they were last year as a team.
And I think McCarthy can play very similar production wise
to what Sam Darnold did last year.
Everyone knows how high I have for a production wise to what Sam Darnold did last year. Everyone knows how high I
For a long time been on Sam Darnold, but I've been equally as high on JJ McCarthy. I think he's carbon
Copy made for that offense his skill set and what he does well and what he doesn't the way he's been trained
And brought up is perfect for that offense. I've been a huge fan of McCarthy's
I called JJ McCarthy's first game in college
when he got on the field, his very first game
against Western Michigan.
And I remember he made a play and I was like,
why is this guy not the starting quarterback today?
And you saw his career end at Michigan
and then the opportunity to play in the preseason
a little bit last year.
Everyone you talk to about JJ McCarthy
talks about like the characteristics,
the mentality, the mindset,
who he is before they ever talk about what he is on the football field.
He's an ultra athletic dude who's got a big time arm.
I think he plays with fantastic feet because of the way he was coached in
college.
That's why he's the perfect fit for what they like to do in Minnesota.
And I think that Minnesota will have at worst,
not five offensive line in the NFL.
We all know that their perimeter players
are absolutely sensational.
Keeping AJ was big.
I think their defense is gonna be even better this year
than it was last year.
If they're secondary plays just a little bit better.
Minnesota, I believe will be right where they were,
right where they were as a season team last year
Tough back-to-back international games. Good luck to all of them having to handle all of the logistics and everything like that
Dana we appreciate the hell out of you joining us brother. Oh, yeah
Thanks guys. What's your future? Has that been figured out?
I think that's still being figured out us too too, brother. Ladies and gentlemen, Dan Orlovsky. Yeah.
Oh.
What a face.
What a face.
Great sign.
Always a good sign.
Before we have the big rig join us, Hembo sent me some stats here.
Most sacks in the last two seasons.
Most sacks in the last two seasons.
Miles Garrett, 28 sacks over the last two seasons.
He's making $ million dollars a year. Daniel Hunter 28 and a half sacks over the last two years he's making 35.6
million per year. TJ, what? 30 and a half sacks over the last two years he's
currently making 28 million dollars a year but he is renegotiating we assume
with the Pittsburgh Steelers maybe.
Trey Hendrickson, 35 sacks over the last two seasons.
Damn.
35 sacks over the last two seasons, currently on 21 million a year.
Wow.
Okay, so that's just something to look at why Trey Hendrickson's like, hey, if you keep
doing this, I'm going to have to stand up for myself.
Yeah. Wait, yeah, can you say that again? How'm going to have to stand up for myself. Yeah.
Wait, yeah.
Can you say that again?
How many is he making in comparison to Miles Garrett?
Miles Garrett had 28 sacks over the last two seasons.
Now, Miles Garrett obviously contributes other than just sex.
Sure.
Obviously, we all understand him and understand him in that.
But whenever you're a pass rusher, getting to the passer is everything.
Miles Garrett has 28 sacks over the last two seasons.
He's making $40 million a year. Trey Hendrickson has 35 sacks over the last two seasons. He's making $40 million a year.
Trey Hendrickson has 35 sacks over the last two years. He's making 21 million a year, which is exactly what Trey Hendrickson is trying to say.
I'm being very reasonable here. Can we please just do something? And I think it's why he showed face up there today.
Was just like, if, well, the Cincinnati media,
will you do some
little, will you do some journalism here?
Like, hey, this is not, I'm trying to be as good as possible.
And he's trying to be as professional as possible.
We can tell you he hated coming on our show saying that.
It was very obvious he was uncomfortable being like,
I don't know what to do.
I don't know what else to do other than this.
Because all he wants to do is show up with no gloves and go get
Squared back that's really all he wants to do
He just so happens to be in an organization that is just gonna be like well
You're either gonna be a prick or we're gonna continue to do that and tie your notion is yeah
I think we have a textbook baseball situation here squeaks Galari in that film basically says to the two guys
Hey, listen listen if you guys
Rip on me 13 or 14 more times. I'm out of here same deal with trey hendrickson listen you guys can disrespect me and rip me
you know
13 14 more times and that's fine. I'll eat it
We get past that i'm done. I'm out of here
And I think we're at the I think we're at the 13th or the 14th time. He was talking about two offseason ago. It's like
Trey is trying. It feels like Trey is like I am trying my absolute best to be as
professional as possible but I've looked around the league and whenever you
finally just say uh-uh those people get rewarded it happened in the Bengals
building. Yeah it has already happened. He's like I don't want to have to do
that. Why are you forcing me to do that?
It's basically how Trey Hendrickson is operating
in my eyes, AJ.
Is that how you see it?
Yeah, for sure.
For the fact that he came, I thought earlier,
yeah, this is a good sign he's showing up,
but then I'm thinking absolutely,
probably not a great sign after you hear what he has to say
because he just wants to get his message across
because we're only here in kind of the Bangles side.
But yeah, I would assume he's pushing them
to do something one way or the other.
Hey, pay me what I deserve or find a way to move me like I would assume he just wants to play how about him?
Just talking to boys here. Hey good to see you. I'm about to go talk to the media. What are you gonna say?
I'm gonna tell the truth. Yeah. All right. It's about time. I'm happy Trey's doing this because this is out of his comfort zone
Oh, yeah
This is very much out of Trey's comfort zone if it ends up with him getting a deal that he has earned
Obviously on the field congrats to him, but bangles, come on, just a little communication
and let the guy go.
Yeah.
You know, he's 30 years old and they're gonna say,
no, we don't have to do that at all.
Just like they said about T. Higgins.
When two years ago, three years ago, whatever it was,
they were like, you know, a lot of people would trade you
for T. Higgins, T. Higgins on contract with us.
That's kind of how the bangles have been.
They can say that about Trey.
I guess they can do that and disrespect a guy
who's the sack king in the NFL.
He's 30 years old, he's done everything right. Pay them on. Pay them on his money.
Joining us now is a guy who's a three-time Stanley Cup champion.
I believe is getting into TV, which I am very grateful for. We should all be very thankful for.
NHL legend, American hero, ladies and gentlemen,
the big rig, Patti Maroon.
Yeah, Patti!
What's up, boys?
How are we?
Hey, how was TV last night on TNT?
Did you feel comfortable in there, huh?
Get some minutes?
You feel like you were really flying by?
I really want to throw a sucker punch at Biz.
No, but it was great.
It was fun.
You know, obviously we all know that, you know,
it can be, it's on the fly stuff.
So a little nervous at the start,
but as the games went on, you know, the better I got.
So the more flow.
Well, I think for you, the good news is
we all think you're a legend in the sports world.
We'll be lucky if you continue to talk
because your resume is a great one.
And I think your personality is a fantastic one
that we have learned and
Hockey is better now that we're learning more about the players
Let's talk a little bit about the current playoffs last night Edmonton Oilers smack the Vegas Golden Knights
Is this the year for Connor McDavid? Obviously you've won three Stanley Cups
You've been a part of a lot of great teams
Does this Edmonton Oilers team have the team that has the capability to go on a run?
And what do you think is different from this year's Edmonton Oilers team have the team that has the capability to go on a run? And what do you think is different
from this year's Edmonton team
versus maybe last year's Edmonton team?
Patty?
I think where we all question
where Edmonton lacks right now is goaltending.
Were they gonna find goaltending to play off?
We knew that was a struggle for them the last few seasons.
You know, Cobham Picker came in, he played unbelievable,
he gets hurt.
Now they're going back to
skin or who just got pulled in that series.
We all have question marks on him but he came up big last
night you play the heck of a game the guys played really
good for him but I think we're evident fairs look between the
last few years.
They're dept and scoring they have four lines are deep right
now they can play the game both sides of the park they're not just relying on Connor and Leon to do the
dirty work they're relying on everyone Connor's special right I mean he's just
a different animal and is it just he's faster it seems like what I'm watching
he's just faster and everybody's in 2x speed than everybody else is that what
makes him so special or what is it well I think he's fast too but I think he is
hockey IQ is which people don't forget.
Like he thinks the game one second, two seconds quicker
than what they're, you know, whatever else is thinking.
Right.
So he's a half a second step faster than a lot of people
that are making plays right now.
And that's why he's the best player in the world.
I mean, he's doing it at a high pace too.
He's doing it at full speed, which a lot of people can't do.
You know, some players have to slow the game down, let the game come to them. He does it at a high pace too, he's doing it at full speed, which a lot of people can't do. You know, some players have to slow the game down,
let the game come to them.
He does that at a full pace
and his hockey IQ is off the charts.
He finds ways, but he's thinking the game one step,
you know, further than the next guy.
I think he's great for hockey,
because even people that don't know hockey,
see him on the ice, it's like,
Jesus, what is that thing right there?
He is a buzzsaw, maybe this is the year for them.
Go ahead, AJ. Yeah, Pat, I know Ovechkin and the boys down three-one right there. He is a buzzsaw, maybe this is the year for them. Go ahead, AJ.
Yeah, Pat, I know Ovechkin and the boys
down three one right now.
What are the chances you think that they can find a way
to turn this thing around and win this series?
Oh man, I mean, Carolina is playing great.
I think we got to give hats off to Carolina.
They're sticking their structure.
They're playing great hockey.
They're making it really frustrating
on Washington right now.
But I think Washington, honestly, just needs to get back to the basics. They have a big heavy team
They're not the fastest team, but I think they need to get more puck stall
They needed to make it difficult on their on their D. Carolina's they're not that big back there
They got to be more physical, you know
Don't let them go to her feet. It seems like their breakouts have been way too easy
So I mean it's gonna be difficult
It seems like their breakouts have been way too easy. So, I mean, it's going to be difficult.
Caroline is playing the best hockey I've seen
that play in the postseason.
But I think if they just get back to just the basics
and play it heavy, making it hard for them to go 200 feet
so they don't get to their offense,
I think they'll be fine, but it's going to be difficult.
They need their big guys, their big guns to step up
and game five has got to be it.
I love this Capitals team.
I love the story of the
year. The Hurricanes were the favorites going into this series. I think a lot of us that maybe
didn't watch the entire season were like what what what and then you watch them do their thing.
Great team. Speaking of great teams let's go down to potentially the state of hockey. D-Bud has a
question for you. Yeah, New Hockey Town down in Sunrise, Florida, Big Panthers. Yeah and obviously
you went back to back with Tampa so I just want to ask you and obviously they're
in the battle right now with Toronto. What's the biggest challenge of going back to back in the NHL
playoff? Well, I think just the physicality that you go through throughout the playoffs
and throughout the regular season, the guys that get injured, guys are coming back from injury.
They might still be a little banged up.
But I think for a guy, you know, teams that done it like Pittsburgh and Tampa, but I think
with Florida, it seems like they're pretty healthy right now.
They got a better team probably than last year on paper, you know, they brought some
key guys in.
I mean, but Florida just plays the right way all the time. And it's exhausting for teams.
And they had the makeup for the teams,
but I think for them,
they just gotta continue what they're doing.
But it's gonna be difficult.
It's hard to go back to back,
but I think if any team can do it,
it's the Florida Panthers.
Is it the short off season that you have?
Is it trying to refine the magic?
What is it down there?
And obviously you win three straight with Tampa,
St. Louis, Tampa, Tampa.
Obviously you go on two different teams
able to win three straight.
Is it the short off season?
Is it really trying to find the magic?
Is it getting lucky health-wise?
Is it all of the above?
What is it, you think?
Well, I think lucky.
I think the big thing in playoff hockey is a lot.
You know, you need goaltending one.
If you have great goaltending, you have good bounces.
But I think the other part is,
you got to stay healthy in the playoffs.
If you guys, if you're too banged up
and you have your key guys out of the playoffs,
that can help you and kind of, you know,
the key guys that kind of generate your offense
or key guys that are going to change the game for you,
you need that.
And I feel like Florida has it right now.
They're all healthy right now.
It's a good team.
They're great coached. And it it's gonna be fun to watch.
I think Toronto has been better this year.
They have a better makeup of a team.
They have a little more pushback.
So, and I think with Florida, man,
they're gonna be the team to be right now.
So I mean, Toronto's got their hands full.
We'll continue this conversation with the big league
three time standing cup champion,
Patty Maroon on YouTube, ESPN+, Disney+, and TikTok Live. We'll see you conversation with the big rig three times Steadicup champion, Patty Maroon on YouTube, ESPN plus
Disney Plus and TikTok live.
We'll see you tomorrow on ESPN.
Be a friend, tell a friend something nice.
It might change their life.
Perfect ending there with you hammering that water bottle.
We are just on digital now.
We will continue.
People are still watching.
A lot of people are still watching.
So you need to know that we are just off ESPN,
the linear network.
You just mentioned a team right
there the Toronto squad. Connor has a question for you Pat. Yeah Patty let me just say first too
your lettuce looked unbelievable last night. It was fantastic but with Toronto something that's
going on with them is kind of Austin Matthews hasn't really been who he is basically the entire
playoffs but especially in this
series versus the Leafs.
And then you mentioned goaltending too with Winnipeg.
Hallebuck hasn't really been his best self on the road at least.
What are the vibes like when you're in a locker room and the guys that are your best players,
your stars aren't kind of getting it done and the team's slipping a little bit?
Is it high tension?
Is it more so motivation for those guys, even though they know what they have to do?
What's that like?
And do you see those two kind of bouncing back in these last few games?
Cuz obviously Toronto now is a three game series here.
Yeah, I mean, those two players are competitors first.
They know what's at stake. They probably know they're I mean, those two players are competitors first, you know, they know what's at stake
They probably know they're not at their best right now
But I think we all forget the ice shrinks, especially for Austin Matthews in the playoffs
It gets harder and harder each game each series the longer you move on
It's gonna get harder for these guys, but I think from the mojo in the locker room
I think you just got to stick there with them, right? Hey, it's gonna be alright, you know, we have all the confidence in the world. You've been our best player for the last
You know few years, you know, you're gonna be there your time is gonna break through, you know
And sometimes you just got to work through those
You know those things that you're struggling with I guess if he's not getting enough scoring chances
Find ways to get to the net find ways, you know on the floor check, create a little more havoc for yourself.
So I got full belief in him.
You know, he's a true goal scorer.
He's one of the best players in the league.
He's going to find time to get out of it.
And I think the most important at Halliburton, I mean, goalies are streaky, man, especially
in the playoffs.
You never know what you're going to get out of a goalie.
And it seems to me that he's struggling on the road, I don't know why, but it seems like
to me you do a lot of video, I think people forget you do a lot of video during playoffs,
these coaches, and you see their weaknesses and their tendencies in the pregame.
So these guys take advantage of it, so you know where to shoot and all their weaknesses.
And when you have a seven game
Series like that eventually you're gonna keep wearing it down keep wearing it down and finding ways to break down this goalie
But it seems like guys are starting to get it figured this out. So
You know, it's that's what it seems to me
You know these these video coaches now these coaches are so dialed in with this stuff and they find ways to, you know,
you know, find their weaknesses in these goalies.
So, I mean, hopefully he can bounce back here.
He's a heck of a goalie.
He's obviously going to win the Vezza this year.
But I just love to see him bounce back
and kind of get this playoff module
like he has the regular season.
So when a pitcher is throwing like a perfect game
or playing well, nobody talks to him.
That's like a thing.
When a kicker is doing his thing,
nobody really talks to him. When a goalie is either struggling or doing very well, nobody talks to him. That's like a thing. When a kicker is doing his thing, nobody really talks to him.
When a goalie is either struggling or doing very well,
what are the conversations you guys are having
with the goalies?
It just kind of like, just stay away from the goalie,
let the freak kind of do his thing?
Yeah, I mean, I've never really bothered goalie
in the playoffs.
I kind of just leave him alone.
Especially when he's, you know, he's in the zone,
he's feeling it.
You just kind of, unless he's talking to you, you'll talk, but if he's not talking,
then you just gotta say, hey, good game, leave it alone.
So they're pretty dialed in, they're pretty zoned in.
Goalies have always been weird in the hockey world.
So they're a bunch of weirdos.
So...
Um...
Pretty isolated position,
you know, but just getting clapped at too the entire day and
I mean Marc-Andre Fleury he's just seemingly beloved everywhere but if you're a great goalie
god the whole hockey world bends over like they will respect the shit out of you but if you get
cold Jesus it is all on this guy sucks I mean mean, that is a tough position. I had is not an easy, like Bob has obviously been.
He's a dog.
Bob's a hero down in Florida.
Fans chanting the name.
Oh yeah.
Like when that happens.
Bobby, Bobby.
Yeah, it's electric.
And I love watching him, you know,
do his 45, 50 minute skate alone.
Just then his thoughts.
I know he does like Tai Chi and some other shit,
but yeah, they're all
The stars all their fans were chanting otters better
Let's stay with the stars tone has a question for you Patty Yeah, Patty
I do a lot of the goals coming to those highlights for was from Miko ranting in who was on his third team this season
Which is hilarious in itself, but he's doing stuff this playoffs right now
that only Wayne and Mario did, which is insane.
I think he's got 17 points in his last six games,
nine goals, I believe.
So when you're, when you are on a teammate
of someone who is that hot, do you still,
like, do you, can you find yourself trying to feed him
the puck more, or how do you play
when someone's on a, on a roll like that?
Well, I think it's Tennessee's too. I think his line mates have he's fitted pretty well up there with Gremlin and Ropey Hintz there so it seems like they they found their they found their call
in there and he found his line mates. I think Ropey Hintz I would say he's like a 2.0 Nathan
McKinnon. So I mean he he's found it. But I think with
Rand and he's he's a piece. I don't think people realize how big and strong
he is, how hard it is to take a puck off of him and the way he can do it.
You know, he kind of slows the game down and his patience, his hands, his
vision. So listen, everyone thought he couldn't do without McKenna. We all
knew he could. It was just about of time and where he could fit in.
And we all know Carolina wasn't the best form,
the best system, but it seems like he has a home in Dallas.
And what he's doing right now, he's a man on a mission.
He's a freak.
And he's taking the Dallas Stars
and putting them on his back right now.
And it's been fun to watch.
You talk about him being big and strong.
And I think the reason why we enjoyed following
with your success is because it feels like playoff hockey
You have to be big and fast like you have to be big and fast if your team's not big and fast
You're gonna get exposed is that an accurate depiction?
Is that like a qualifier on whether or not you're gonna win and do you know if your team is big enough and fast enough?
To win a Stanley Cup whenever you get in there
No, that's pretty accurate actually, because like during a long series,
a long seven game series,
it's whoever does it the longest and the hardest
and stays more patient is gonna win.
And the more you wear down the opposition,
the more exhausted it is for D to go back for pucks,
for making it so as simple,
and then you create more space for your line mates
And then you can kind of create off the rush
But teams that do it longer and harder are the teams that kind of come out with the seven game series wins
So and it's just it's exhausting too. It's like Florida. They just rim pox in they reload
They're back in your face and put it back in they hit they reload
I mean, it's at times it gets exhausting you can see
it on their face mentally and physically that like shit man I don't want to go
back for this puck anymore it's exhausting I think you know it's kind
of like playoff football you know like after the you know first it's just like
you see these you see these guys coming at me after the second and third it's
how you're like fuck man I can't I can't get I can't get this guy, I don't know what the hell's going on.
And it gets mentally and physically exhausting
over that time.
So then I look at Florida because they remind me of Tampa.
And when I played for the blues, when we won,
they just the same team.
They're like, they're pests.
They're always in your face.
They're like hound dogs.
Speaking of pests, how's Marshy end up
on the Florida Panthers?
How is that? Is that one of those ones that surprised everybody in hockey? Like Connor almost
quit being a hockey fan. Damn near did. He almost just quit. He was like, fuck this. How does our
guy end up going to the Panthers? Especially with the rivalry that had been brewing between the
Florida Panthers into Boston Bruins. And then you add Marshy and I think Kachuk said as soon as they
add him to the group chat,
he started chirping everybody.
He's fit in perfectly.
Obviously, you've had your battles, but it's like,
is that not a perfect fit for a guy to go to that team,
to rack out of the Panthers?
Doesn't that feel like a perfect fit for them?
And what is he considered amongst the hockey players
at your level?
I mean, listen, that's a perfect fit.
I mean, you couldn't have found a better spot for him
with Matthew Gachuk, Devin,
there's so many other guys on that team
are just little rats,
but guys that do it the right way,
they have good chirps, they play hard,
they're in your face,
but they're so annoying to play against
because it's like, they never stop.
You turn around, you think it's over and then they keep going they keep going and they do
some sneaky stuff behind the play just fun stuff to you know keep everyone on
your toes but you know with Marsha though like man he's one of the best at
in the league the way he plays a game for how skilled he is and for how intense
and he's in your face all the night every
Every game every night, but most importantly man, like I don't know how he does it man
Just like once in a while like dude just turn your engine off. Like this is game 81
You don't need to be doing the same goddamn thing over and over again, but
um
But yeah, I mean he finds a way to get it done and uh, that's why he's gonna lead player in this league
And that's why he's the most annoying human being in this in that HL
He's great at it. He's a brewing one day. Yeah, he's one of the goats. He was a great brew
I forget him. Maybe they trade him that a penguins. Maybe you get out of retirement go to the Pittsburgh Penguins as well
They want to win. We're kind of fucked up there, dude
I don't like that. We haven't been a part of the conversation for a while, especially with
Sid.
How easy is it to turn a team around?
It's not easy.
How many pieces?
How many pieces do you need?
How many pieces?
How many years?
Yeah, exactly.
You need a goalie, right?
Obviously you need a goalie that is...
Go ahead.
Oh man, with Sid, that I think, you know,
I think with them, you know, the core guys are still there
with Malcolm LeTang and Crosby.
I mean, they're still playing at elite level.
Obviously we all saw what Crosby did this year.
He's still putting up the numbers at 37 years old.
So I think for them, they have their core pieces still.
I think getting run against will kind of hurt them. so they just kind of find ways to put some navigate put some pieces in
that organization where it's gonna fit and you know pawn it off to someone else and
I don't know who they're gonna pawn it off to when Crosby's gone
But and Malcolm and the tank but they got to find ways to put pieces in where they can continue to have success
We're not pawn anything off. We need this to happen.
Hazy.
Hazy will pick it up and run for it.
Hazy does feel like a guy.
Yeah.
He'll do it.
Yeah.
What a legend.
Absolutely a legend.
Happy I got a chance to meet him.
I mean.
Go ahead.
I mean look at Boston.
Look at what happened last year with us losing the second round.
Not even know where the hell their team's at right now.
So I mean it's just like they went from the top to the bottom quick.
So now what is it?
You're loading up, that's what hockey does.
Yeah, hockey's a big load up sport.
First of all, you need to get Sweeney out of there, but
allegedly the B's are going to make a run for Gavin McKenna.
Kind of go up there and get him next year once we have a couple first round picks.
Waiting till you hear what Dubas is thinking about doing after these World Hockey Jump
EJips. McKinnon's coming up to Pittsburgh I heard. Everybody's thinking about Sid going
to Colorado. Biz has been pushing that all year. Yeah right, McKinnon's moving out of the Rockies
pal. He's coming over to Hills of Pittsburgh. He would love the Berg. He would love the Berg
wouldn't he? Good Sam. We might be still having this conversation for years from now. What? All right, Patty.
Nah, that won't happen.
I think one of our favorite things about hockey is how tough you fuckers are.
Ty, is a question for you.
Yeah, Patty, one of the best parts of the playoffs, I think, for casual fans is like
after a series is over, you hear like, hey, this guy was playing with a fucking
broken sternum or a broken leg during the entire series.
How aware are you guys in the locker room of like how banged up some guys are and
like do you have to consciously be like, hey, I might have to, you know,
give a little bit more because this guy's out there playing but
he's playing on a broken leg.
Yeah, I mean, that's why I feel like hockey is one of the toughest sports.
Because of that, I think the coaches and the players do a good job of hiding it
because you know,
you can see when someone's hurting or someone's lacking and you never know what
players are going through until the end of the series if they lose or what,
you know, if they lose out.
So I think most importantly, when you go in deep runs, yes,
you're playing a little extra hard for the guy that's a little more banged up than you.
But man, it takes a lot of sacrifice.
And I think at the end goal, you get to the pinnacle of your career,
just getting to the NHL.
But I think at the end of it, you want to win a Stanley Cup
and hoist it over your head.
So guys will do whatever it takes to get there and have
that opportunity to do that.
So I mean, I've watched guys play with broken legs broken, you know
Broken feet, but fuck I mean, it's been like insane pull
Groins off the groins off the bone just putting I don't you know, I'm just like how you guys even played, you know
Alex corn, you know, he tries he gets out of game one He puts a rod in his foot per game try to come back for game three it's
just guys are just nuts right so you know you just try to do whatever it takes
to you know get back in that game and to do to do it what you did all year with
those guys and all the sacrifices you went through through an 82 game season
plus you know to chance to get to the you know Stanley Cup finals and you know
to voice that thing over your head.
So guys will do anything, man.
And then it's pretty impressive
when the lineup sheet comes up
after a series of how hurt they really are.
Do you know it in the change room though?
You know what everybody's going through?
Oh yeah, we know everything.
Yeah, so like guys are like,
yeah, I got a fucking leg and a back or whatever.
And it's like, fellow, good on you. Is that kind of the fucking leg and a back or whatever and it's like fellow good on you
Good on you that kind of the conversation is and how do you guys keep it so tight?
It feels like your guys's community keeps everything so tight. Is that just the culture?
It's just a culture because we know you know, they're probably banged up over there, too
We just don't know it either. So you try to keep it as quiet as possible
You don't you don't run home and tell a friend or a buddy cause a buddy might tell someone else.
Cause that buddy might know another teammate.
So you just try to just keep it as tight as close as you can.
I don't know if I could say this on live TV or whatever,
but a lot of, a lot of tortle.
We, hey shout out.
Yeah.
Me too, I'm sorry.
Yeah.
We will find the vitamin T.
Yes, we certainly will. Hey, Patty, we appreciate the hell out of you, man. Yeah, we will find the vitamin T. Yes, we certainly will.
Hey, Patty, we appreciate the hell out of you, man.
Good luck with everything.
Are you back on TNT throughout the rest of the way or no?
I haven't got my schedule yet.
I don't know yet.
So I'm just, that was my first day.
So hopefully, you know, come back and do a couple more games.
So just trying to figure out going on the NHL panel,
doing some coverage of the Stanley Cup finals.
So just trying to put my,
dip my toes in a little bit of everything right now
and see what I like.
Yeah, well enjoy it all brother.
That's the most important part.
And know you're already prepared.
Don't be worried about a damn thing.
And the hair, the lettuce looks absolutely phenomenal.
Absolutely phenomenal.
Just comb my hair with a pork chop.
All right. All right. All right. TNT does a great job. Absolutely phenomenal. Call my hair at the pork chop.
All right.
All right.
TNT does a great job.
Yes.
They do.
TNT does a great job of hiring.
Start to finish when it comes to before, and after,
and during the game.
Yeah, like everything.
TNT does a great job of eyeing talent
and giving them a chance to go.
Everybody in hockey is talking shit on biz for good reason.
You came in and said you want to punch him in the face.
It's like he is the epicenter of that coverage
and it is spectacular.
They built a fucking penalty box around him in there.
It's like they did it.
I think the TNT people get it
and I'm happy to see they're giving you an op
because it's good for the sport.
It's good for sports as a whole.
We appreciate you, man.
Enjoy yourself.
All right, thanks boys, I appreciate it.
Ladies and gentlemen, three times Stanley Cup champion, the big rig, Patti Maroon.
Okay. So our theory about just being bigger and faster.
Yeah. Holds true place.
Got to be able to play hockey. Yeah.
Obviously that is a thing to go.
Goalie, big, fast, and you play harder than the other team for longer.
Yeah. And if you're no secrets, no secrets in any sport really. That's what it is. Goalie big fast and you play harder than the other team for longer. Yeah
Secrets no secrets in any sport really that's what it is. Especially physical sports. Yeah, they sell out so much. Yeah Yeah, that's why marching was so huge. Yeah freaking urge their line. He was first line for us
He was talking about Florida having four lines for good lines there. Yeah, that's a huge deal
Yes, especially end of like second period, you know
Cuz third period you might have to only drop down to two lines really working.
Like we're not going into third,
but being able to catch a breath for your top guys
for the long haul there towards the end is a big deal.
Four good lines.
God damn, that'd be great for the Penguins.
When was the last time we had four good lines?
Sit, you had Sid, Gino and Stahl.
That was the three up the middle that just,
and they just ran them back.
Kunitz. Yeah, we're talking about every player. That was the three up the middle that just and they just ran them back cool. It's yeah
Yeah, I'm probably when you went back to back other positions, yeah 1718
It's a long time. That's almost a decade brother. What's the decade ago?
Yeah, might as well be eight decades. Shut up Bruins. You're dead, too. That's okay
We still as sure names in history is last year. Yeah, but there's no chance you guys are getting McKinnon in Boston. We don't want we don't want McKinnon
We want the new guy on the block McKenna, but you have no idea what he I don't want McKenna
If we get McKinnon, I'm okay with it
And maybe Marc Andre Fleury decides to come out of retirement and play again for the Pittsburgh Penguins
Maybe Dubas is rallying up the boys Dubas. Yeah, I heard they're flipping that be around
Conan do piss. No, they're not
Not do this
Do this he's a good guy. He looks great. He's a nice man
But so far the moves he's making make me think he's full of shite. No, he's not foolish
I don't know if it's got a seven-year deal. He does not pull this shot. I do piss trade get some
I'll tell you what the get the trade was tough, especially with how cool
I just went into the carillon hurricanes
Yeah, Sully
Cover is Sully. Yeah, so he's gone. So he went in early Pete Carroll fighting for his job and do the said sorry about it
We're moving along
Business and then Sully woke up the next morning had the highest contract ever paid to a coach be a New York Rangers head
Yeah, he landed on his feet. Yeah, I think talk it is on the board for both the penguins and bruins actually. Yeah
Signed on TV. Give me Rick talking. I might be wrong Nick. I
Ball tap is last night or two nights ago. He's out there a lot of people think he's gonna go to the Flyers
We'll see there's just a couple
Talk he just wants to go to a terrible place. I guess I guess does he want to live, Florida or go to a place?
It's never done it
Most Philadelphia people weren't even alive when that was happening. None of them actually.
I don't even think Pat's or Geno's existed whenever they went to stand like that.
Wow.
No way.
It's been like a hundred years.
Pat's and Geno's been around forever.
Is that the best?
No.
Dalsandre is all.
Well, honestly.
Coops.
Danny and Coops is kind of making a bit of a run.
Yeah, it is.
You get one style sandwich and everybody loves it.
That's right.
I still have yet to try it.
I thought they were in New York.
We tried. Am I wrong?
We tried a couple times.
We tried.
I tried a couple times.
Yeah, I want one so bad.
So bad.
Me too.
Remember we walked, I don't know, what was it?
Six, seven miles to get down there in New Orleans.
Down New Orleans?
Yeah.
And then we got shooed away.
That was maybe the most uncomfortable I've ever felt.
Yeah. By far.
Me too.
About 30 of us showed up to a food truck
There was a line of 200 people and we kind of just edged in towards the front
They're like now who the fuck are you guys out of here? See the line starts back there
I think we're supposed to be here though. No, no
And how about the ladies standing reponsible who are these guys?
I don't know these assholes think they can cut everybody lady. We can hear you lady.
We are right here.
It's bully.
We get it.
So somebody tell coop we stop by.
I think he wanted us to come.
Maybe next time.
Maybe I go to New York.
I'm on a complete other side of the city.
Yeah.
Well, you couldn't get around that.
We need Danny Coops' T-Stick.
All right, let's go to New York.
Okay. All right. Right now?
Let's wait for the Pacers to play New York.
There you go. Smart.
How much is that celebrity row? It looked pretty pricey.
How about Stefan Diggs?
A lot of money for him.
New England.
Chalamet.
Timothy Chalamet, obviously full circle moment with him.
With Amari Stoudemire, I got a chance to meet up with him.
The Jenners, obviously with Timothy Chalamet
in the building, super fashionable.
Stephon Diggs, I wish he would have
wore his shin guards out there.
He had shorts on with boots.
Respect.
So cool.
He and Cardi, I guess, officially.
Yes, it looks good.
Officially official.
Yeah, she's New England's Taylor Swift now.
They had a really, she's hosting SummerSlam, too, I believe. Really? she's New England's Taylor Swift now. They had a really she's hosting summer slam, too
I believe
WWE over there and met life stadium. Wow. Did you see the way he was holding her hand?
Mm-hmm leaving no sitting down. He was even holding her hand in a cool way
She had her hand over his thigh he right hand underneath in between legs holding hand
His boots look so he looks super cool. Yeah digs football
Yeah, he looks super cool Congrats the football world, you know getting into pop culture yet again and Congrats Cardi B get a football guy
Yeah, I think it's gonna be a good thing for her
I'm not sure if you did see towards the end of the game in the fourth quarter
Tom Tibideaux actually had the elbow Gary V in the throat to get him away
Tom Thibodeau actually had the elbow Gary Vee in the throat to get him away. Because where Gary was sitting was right next to the...
He had the R-E seats?
...Nicks bench, bingo, to the right of the Knicks bench.
They missed a call and Gary Vee popped up like, are you fucking kidding me?
And Thibodeau...
Did you hear him?
Did you hear him?
Oh yeah.
Oh yeah.
And Thibodeau also was losing his mind and it looked like he fucking boomed in his throat,
but I don't know. Well, I appreciate Veeve's support of the New York sports. I wonder
if he's still trying to buy the Jets or if he's understood that that's probably
not gonna happen the Johnson & Johnson family not gonna relinquish. Gary Veeve's not giving up.
Yeah I agree you never will. He actually had a bunch of his cards with him last night.
Yeah with the shirt. The Gary Veeve cards? Yeah the Gary Veeve on. The optimistic opossum yes bingo the eagle eagle. How about the winning?
Wallaby wall wall. Yeah. Yeah, that's it. I thought you were gonna say the hype horse cuz I know you're a big horse guy
I am a hype horse. Where did all mine go? I took him. I stole him cuz I want him so yeah
Okay, what do you have over there?
What's up, I like the high-spent. Oh, you're gonna Yeah, exactly. I don't like high horses, but I do like hop horses
Yeah, pardon not to that celebrity road looked like it was a good time. Yeah. Yeah, Timothy Chalamet shoot fan
Oh, yes, skip the Met Gala. Yeah, and he's like big time. That's awesome
Yeah, that would be his event especially who he's dating like that's Kylie like that is like their thing
Yeah, cuz that's the theater right and that's like what he's trying to do Metropolitan theater like the Met Gala
He's like trying to represent that and be like the guy and next got a game sweetheart. Yeah, I'm so sorry
I love it. I love it loves ball. I like how much sports is kind of infiltrating
Everything that Biebs with Toronto boom. He skipped it as well. Where was he? He was in Iceland or something
Where's where's he been posted on this stuff from I think all over the place, but I know Iceland for sure was one of them
He was golfing in a t-shirt looks like he's got a good swing
I thought he was in a Montana one point looks like he's got an album coming out. That's the guest
I guess we are in Morgan Wallen album release week D bone says okay D bone sent a text to the group earlier
Whenever we're talking about cutting teeth
Double album right like a monster album 30 some songs, you know texted a group earlier whenever we were talking about cutting teeth. Dennis.
Double album, right?
Like a monster album.
30 some songs.
You know, Morgan and I know each other.
We've chit chatted with each other.
I would say we're friendly with each other
in this entire world.
We could save probably 16 of those things, right?
For another.
You could put a 20 song album out
and people would be like, holy shit, that's a lot.
That's a big album.
A 36, it's like how many of these great songs just,
I guess all day.
It's just...
I guess, are you trying though,
is there in the end game,
you're trying to run up the price of what you're,
you know, when you want a big company to come in
and buy your stuff?
Catalog?
I mean, maybe because it just happened for for Zach Brian allegedly 350 for his catalog or whatever
That's like the new play and maybe that's the case, but it's like
Morgan is gonna sell out stadiums regardless. Yeah, I mean he's gonna sell out stadiums and his shows are awesome and his songs are all
Bangers, you know, it's like 36 of them. Can we keep a couple in the chamber?
Maybe and then I guess he just looks into me and says fuck it. We got more, you know, it's like 36 of them. Can we keep a couple in the chamber? Maybe and then I guess he just looks in the mirror and says fuck it. We got more
Every song that's like we're talking about Shaboosie. It's like every song Shaboosie puts out banger every song Morgan's a part of
Banger seemingly at this point. I guess you might as well just put out a hundred of them
Yeah, hopefully they're longer than two minutes though. We can't have we can't have you know, ten or twenty of these songs be two minutes. Nah, he respects the art
I do I think so as well as last album that those songs are four minutes. I'm five
I mean toward his last album twice
You know, yeah, 98 Braves. I hope he puts 98 Braves on there like 15. Yeah, just like oh one brave
Do you remember when we were talking to him? I was one of the first walkouts, you know, Morgan did-
The first.
I remember, oh sweet.
The first one.
Was it really the first one?
Yes, it was the first one.
Okay, so me and Tyrese were the first walkouts or whatever
and we got a chance to chat with him.
He was trying to figure out what it all was too.
He had his vision and idea.
You know, I just kind of want to soup it up a little bit
or whatever and I was honored to be talked about it.
And we had ideas for him.
We're like, hey, you should lead off with that because we're leaving early we had to leave early you were trying to
set the setlist yeah I was like hey listen I know you guys are prepared for
this for a long time you're doing this thing you never figured out was he
asking you was he asking for help no no no we're telling them we're like we need
last night you know we need because we're not gonna be here for the end of
this thing we gotta get the WrestleMania brother so we need to hear last night
you know if I'm doing a walkout, you can play that probably three times.
I think-
He's got a billion plays.
I think it'll hit every single time.
He's like, okay, you want me to lead off
and close with it or whatever?
It's like, maybe once day in the middle.
In the middle too.
One of the guys that worked for him was like,
well, actually my job is strictly set list.
I've been working on this for about 18 months now.
So I don't think we're gonna change it tonight.
We sound like the biggest doofuses of all time.
We're like, so we're leading with last night or whatever?
Cause we would like to be here for that.
How long do we have to,
cause we literally gotta get to wrestle.
People wanna hear it, man.
I wanna hear last night, you know,
I would like to hear that one.
Well, that's coming, obviously at the end there.
It's like, yeah, damn, you can probably lead with that thing.
Don't you think you can hype him up a little here?
Tease it.
Get him going.
Last night we let the Ligger talk.
And then you just kind of, and then guess what?
By the end of this thing,
you've already hit him with so much great.
Guess what you can do again.
Again.
Tonight we let the Ligger talk.
We're selling, just for selfish reasons.
Didn't change his entire concert for no
Shame little bummed out. He gets it. He's got a good crew around him though. Oh, yeah strength coach ultimate hype strength coach
Okay, really it travels with him. Yeah, cuz he's fucking sprint. I mean he's in a stadium
So he's doing like 50 yard sprint and then he's gonna have to come back
I don't know if they I don't think he has like steps type thing on him, but I did I pitched to the strength coach
I'm like you guys should put one of those trackers on him to see how much he is
you know cuz they're doing like sprint training with it cuz he has to be able to
You know seeing that's a big thing when you're moving around. That's crazy, and he tries to keep the energy
I'm all you know cuz he's fucking think he's a Philly guy that the trainer strength coach thought he was I don't remember great
Energy out of the boombox came into the room He's a Philly guy that the trainer strength coach thought he was I don't remember great energy
Hey boom box came into the room. They had a full pump session before they went out there I was like, I love what you guys are doing here. I fully
Agent is actually the man too. Yeah suit good guy suit actually took a stand. Mm-hmm and said I'm with this guy
We're gonna sell out a bunch of stadiums and they have
debone
Hey, how many of the top 100 is Morgan currently have with his stripped down versions of his last album?
All this fucking guy he doesn't fucking know
Hey the stripped down songs that Morgan's put out that's of last album, right? No undershirt are those in the top?
No undershirt. those in the top no undershirt none obviously you sweat through it I make that great shit
dude that's unbelievable you're gonna tap right now like this great hat by the
way is that for Trey Hendrickson you sure and support the so how many of the
top 100 will Morgan probably have after the songs release with the stripped down
version with the 36 songs we assume will all be a part of 50 of them you'll probably have 50 of the top 100 country songs here
in like and then the stripped down versions he got well how many of those
coming out oh fuck it's got some fan okay get this guy a Dr. Pepper to wash
down the candies eating thank you D-B Compy just took quite a shot at you on the way out.
He's got the top six songs right now.
Top six on the country or just total?
Top six country.
Yeah, he'll, last year at one point
he had fucking the top 25.
Yeah.
Just like all of them.
His dog.
He crosses over, like he crossed over
into all genres I feel like.
Yeah, he's doing it.
He's out there doing it.
It's like albums where you listen to them a couple times
and then a few months after it gets released,
you find a different song that's on there
that you must have either missed or just forgot about
and then plays again, it's awesome.
Yeah. 98 Brave.
Country will carry you through the summer
and then rap gets rolling during the fall.
Hell yeah.
And that's when things really start rolling and then that's when football gets going. Speaking of football tomorrow
we have a schedule release tomorrow we have a showcase of the social media and
digital teams. Tomorrow NFL teams should be judging their digital teams on
whether or not they are good or not. These digital teams and social teams will
certainly point fingers at everybody else but themselves if they stink but if
they're great they should be held in higher regard, I think.
And this is a time for them to put on a show.
Big day tomorrow for a lot of people.
Now there are bums out there that have lied to a lot of NFL teams and said they know what
they're doing.
And tomorrow they will get exposed.
And they will not see it that way.
They will lie.
They will say it's somebody else's fault.
But there are also a bunch of people who have been put in position, given the keys to an
entire organization digitally at a young age because the older folks that are in the building
don't think they can do the social team.
And with those keys, tomorrow somebody will fucking go and hit the road, Jack, and put
out something special.
And I think we should recognize that all day tomorrow.
I agree. Let's celebrate day tomorrow. I agree.
Let's celebrate greatness
tomorrow.
Let's celebrate the NFL.
And let's celebrate the fact that
tonight, Pacers, Cavs,
7 o'clock on TNT.
Nuggets, Thunder, 930 on TNT.
Pacers can put the Cavs away.
Well, okay,C take a lead. They're 10 and a half
point favorites at home. And then we got the Winnipeg Jets taking on Texas
Hawkeyes. Dallas Stars. Don't give that one up at home, Gumpy.
Miro's back. Maybe one of the best defensemen in the NHL. Been out for a
long time
Oh Winnipeg. All right Ty's got to poop his pants we're gonna wrap this thing up
being friends other friends something nice in my chance at life. We're with you in there Ty!
Alright, team on me. These boys were in the ring yesterday. We got to get this thing out of here.
We got to get this thing out of here.
D-Bone somehow took a bump yesterday that had three hits.
It was his butt, his back, and his head.
And I don't think that is how it's supposed to go at all.
So we got to clear this thing out.
But if Ty was...
D-Bone was just sitting on top turnbuckle yesterday
calling shots from what I've seen. Ty Schmidt had a kendo stick out here yesterday.
I mean, we got to get this thing out of here as soon as possible.
Anyways, befriend, tell a friend something nice about change your life.
We're gonna sing together.
Pumped Rich Isins coming to ESPN.
Bummed he won't be able to come on our show.
Amen.
What the fuck?
That stinks.
Good setup.
Like he's one of the guys that would come to ESPN who would actually come on our show, I think.
I think he would.
I think he likes us.
We like him.
He's gonna be live at the same damn time.
That makes a lot of sense.
Be a friend, tell a friend something nice
about change your life.
We're in this thing together.
Team on me, team on three.
We appreciate you all so much.
One, two, three, team.
Goodbye.
