Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello beautiful people and welcome to our humble abode, the Thunderdome. On this championship overreaction Monday, June 23rd, 2025, this program begins now. Sports! Had a championship moment last night as the Oklahoma City Thunder win their first ever NBA championship! first ever NBA championship. SGA cracks into history books even more, being the point scorer, king of the NBA, the MVP, the Western Conference Finals MVP, and the Finals MVP, SGA, JDob, Chad Holmgren, and crew.
Starting point is 00:00:40 Not to mention Paizano Caruso, who started going bananas on a few different occasions out of nowhere. Coach Daggs over there and I do believe they say Nalt at the end of his name. Got a chance to listen to him chit chat with SVP after the game last night. He is just, I mean he's just right here. He was just right here. You just won a title for the first time in your program's history. You're right here, right here.
Starting point is 00:01:02 How about all the guys you still have back? You don't really have a lot of contract disputes. Seems like this team's gonna be fully back next year. You kind of got a Florida Panthers thing going right now at this point, even if you were to add something. Just right here, how you doing? Keep it moving. Their fan base, spectacular.
Starting point is 00:01:15 All the way in from beginning to end. And whenever you start talking about the history books, there's numerous things that they were able to accomplish this season that'll be talked about forever. And I can't help but tip my cap, proverbial, to the Oklahoma City fan base, their team, their general manager, their front office, their coach, and everybody. That was an awesome series. It was an awesome series to watch.
Starting point is 00:01:39 Now, Indiana Pacers, very early in that game, lost a man who was shooting at a bucket that seemingly was three sizes too big. A man who was already nine points down. And the first, very rarely does Tyrese Halliburton come out and just start, hey, we're taking it to the bucket, we're filling it up. He's a feel-out type guy early. Then whenever you need him late, it's whenever he starts getting hot, he goes three for three. Now we got nine nine points life is good
Starting point is 00:02:05 We're gonna win the NBA title Ask Alcy, Hawkins doing this thing them hordes going crazy Niesma is doing his stuff TJ McConnell is gonna do his thing whenever he gets in here. No problems. Oh be topping hair looks sweet. Mm-hmm Hair look really sweet after a game He's gonna go crazy and coach tricky Rick at Carlisle has got a plan that for one game the entire season means nothing. It's just about tonight in one game the Pacers are going to be NBA and Tyrese tears his Achilles we all assume. Saw that thing. Oh man. Really so bad. Heartbreaking. I was sick to my stomach. It felt so. Felt so bad. Obviously the immediate reaction Tyrese knew what was going on and they've been saying
Starting point is 00:02:46 it's an Achilles injury. I think anybody with eyes saw what happened there as the reverb goes up the leg. And it's just a heartbreaker for all of Indianapolis, obviously for Tyrese's family, but I think for sports as a whole because game seven is supposed to be best on best. We lose out on Tyrese Halliburton early with an injury and I'll be excited to see what all and by excited I mean eager to see what all injuries were happening, you know, cuz there's a lot of tweets going out about fake injuries and stuff like that Unbelievable before the Achilles him battling through for our team for our city
Starting point is 00:03:21 We're obviously incredibly grateful for but then once you see the Tyrese Halliburton situation move on, it's like, okay, now you're playing for Halley. The boys start playing. We have the lead at halftime. It's like, okay, tricky Ricky's got to figure it out. And then that second half, Coach Daggs also figured it out and they ran with it. And they ended up dominating in the second half
Starting point is 00:03:40 and winning their first ever title. And now we're going to watch what a parade looks like in Oklahoma City. I assume it is going to be vast. And now we're going to watch what a parade looks like in Oklahoma city. I assume it is going to be vast. I assume it is going to be massive. And they have a lot to celebrate over there, especially what the future looks like. And for our future, I think we still got a lot of dogs on his roster. Tyrese. I mean, if, if it is torn, the Achilles, which ever, once again, we all assume,
Starting point is 00:04:02 we've not been told any information that nobody else has been told. I'm not saying that but I'm saying if it is torn I mean they talk about the comeback for that a long time so next year we're gonna have to have a full plan it was a devastating end for the Pacers season but still one to be celebrated because how the boys played and how the boys showed up and how they were overlooked undervalued and even voted overrated in the entire league the way they showed up back-to-back years I'm incredibly proud of that baseman team. Go run boys!
Starting point is 00:04:30 Go run Coach Jenny! Great run. But now we stare down at time. Where the NFL is how many days away? 73 days till NFL football. That doesn't sound too bad. It's not that bad. 73 is not bad. No. That's just like uh 12 hours in a holding cell doesn't seem bad when you're looking back at it like for me for my public intoxication but boy when you're in there long time you know feels like forever. Wasn't fair right now brother you know you're sitting there thinking how you can Andy Dufresne we got 73 days to the NFL we're gonna celebrate the hell out of Oklahoma City today. Okay, I think it's the right thing to do.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Kendrick Perkins will be joining us in 10 minutes. I assume he's gonna take a victory lap, as he should. Cannot wait to catch up with Big Perk. Cannot wait to chitchat about his thoughts on Oklahoma City winning a title, what it means for that city, what it means for that state, what it means for that organization that seemingly is only on the rise.
Starting point is 00:05:23 Congrats to them, good luck to everybody in the West. The Pacers will be back. Let's go to the talk show table at Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt. Ty, what is on your head? Well, you know, you mentioned it. Everyone's kind of down in the dumps today and rightfully so. I mean, I was just heartbreaking last night and I said, you know what? I'm going to have to kind of turn my attention to my other favorite team and that would be the yard goats, uh, bubble Wathens. What? I think it's fairway goats. It's Billy goat. No, it's yard. It's yard goats. You can actually see the goat on here. It's got the golf clubs, the rough, you know, a bunch of kind of like little range goats. Range goats.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Range goats. They are my favorite team. It's Bubba Watson's team in Liv. They're your favorite team. You just call them the yard goats. Like they're yard bird chicken. That's not, you're just calling them the yard goats. They're the range goats because of the driving range, I would assume. When they walk out there, bah ha ha, they're goating around. On the course, we don't know yet. But on the range, we know these boys can really pin it around.
Starting point is 00:06:22 Sure, that certainly makes sense. But real OGs, like real fans of the team We call me our goats because that's what we've been doing from the get-go. So I thought you know what this hats loud It's in your face. It's aggressive. I'm just trying to you know, bring people spirits up a little bit Yeah, we need to hear in Indianapolis. This city had come together around big time nine-year NFL victory state butlers He much obviously down in South Florida when the Hedals had their run you got a chance to experience it here in Indianapolis what the Pacers did for this city was something I think we've needed since 2020
Starting point is 00:06:52 hmm yeah I think probably because this is a hosting city a hospitable city a place where the conventions that come here to town are massive for our business our local business, our entire everything. The Indy 500 is here every single year. That is massive business for Indianapolis. We love hosting events. We love people coming into town. 2020 happens, no events, no nothing. So our entire city turns into a ghost town, let alone riots happening and then homeless. I don't know where they all, I mean, I don't know how it happened, but there was more homeless people. Our downtown became like a ghost city for a few years
Starting point is 00:07:28 And a lot of people wondered like are we gonna be able to build this place back up into what it is? And then obviously the people of downtown Indianapolis and the people that worked their asses off and visit Indy and I think there's a couple Other boards like they want to work as soon as the world was opened back up And but it took a little bit to build and build and build Especially with the town and it's Like this run this playoff run. It felt like Indianapolis was back like it felt entirely Like Indianapolis was fully back together It was it was a wonderful electricity that was radiating through a lot of electricity
Starting point is 00:07:57 You mentioned since 2020 obviously getting getting Caitlin Clark here to fever to that was played a huge part They'll be hosting the WNBA All-Star Game. But this run, this playoff run, not only just the finals, just this run in general, especially all the plays that Tyrese made, all the comebacks, all the buzzer beaters. And then taking this dominant Thunder team to a game seven. Obviously, we didn't get it done. We mean in Indiana, the pace of things. Yes, sirs, it was-
Starting point is 00:08:22 Yes, sir! That was fun. That was really fun! Payne Bridge I think was full last night with a watch party watching the game Yes! It was tough you mentioned the start how that game started even once Tyrese went down the boys still far as a one point game at halftime struggled there late but HGA and it's dominant OKC team and they've really been dominant wire to wire so for them to get it done you
Starting point is 00:08:43 got it it's hats off to them and now the Pacers man has off to tricky Ricky and the squad they gave it their all and they Brought this city, you know back together and I know Tyrese may be back out next year if it is an Achilles which you know, it kind of looks like yeah Um, so it'd probably be a tough year next year you would assume but a hell of a ride this year And hopefully we get back to this point Well, that's what's awesome about this year like last year you go to the Easter Conference finals You know get swept by the Celtics and then no one talks about the season D But just mentioned the moments Tyrese has from this postseason run on its own. I feel like everybody
Starting point is 00:09:19 No matter who you're a fan going into next year We're going into next year going into just Tyrese's recovery. People are going to miss Tyrese. People are going to look forward to Tyrese being back in Manila, the first buzzer beater in a finals game since Michael Jordan. The moments that he has had this postseason run aren't just, hey, let's forget about it, we're on to the next thing. Tyrese, it feels like even though for us, we've known he's a superstar for a long time.
Starting point is 00:09:44 Tyrese this postseason feels like has become a Household name so it sucks. He's got to do the rehab and miss all next year Assuming that he did terrors Achilles, but overall what a season for the Pacers It was sweet to follow a lot of flowers getting sent to Hallie after he gets injured Which I thought was cool, you know from a lot of people that know ball now gonna There's a lot of people that have been saying things about to the contrary about him being a guy and being a star And then whenever he gets hurt everybody's reaction is oh no, like that's superstar. Yep You know, I don't want to go into the entire
Starting point is 00:10:16 dynamics of the conversation about you know, what the series was who Tyrese was and how is being, you know portrayed sometimes by sports media Which we we are lucky to be a part of. When you have to talk every single day, get to, get to. But there are some things we have to talk, you have to talk about the NBA finals because it's the biggest thing that's going on. So you have to chit chat about your opinions and thoughts. There's going to be some things that come out or some angles you're going to take that aren't right. But it felt like for Tyrese, since getting voted the most overrated player in the NBA by his peers, I don't know who those were, but by his peers via the athletic, like it almost gave a green light, I think, to some people that were like, hey, this is how people
Starting point is 00:10:56 view Tyrese. And it's like what he was able to piece together and accomplish and play. And it wasn't just him on that Pacers team. They had a lot of depth. They made it to the finals. To make it to the finals, you're going to have to have a lot of depth. They made it to the finals. To make it to the finals, you're gonna have to have a lot of depth. You know, I think a lot of people are finding that out.
Starting point is 00:11:07 You can't just have two good players and everybody else stinks. And not that everybody stinks. They're in the NBA. They'll kill us in LA fitness. Obviously, you gotta have depth. You gotta have a good team. That Pacers certainly had a great team.
Starting point is 00:11:18 And Pascal Siakam is a guy who is unbelievable, worthy of the MVP for the Eastern Conference finals, for sure. I mean, Tyrese Halliburton is about to pass, no look, aiii, two right there. And then Siakam is about to go on a couple of people's heads real quick, aiii, yey. Like the team was awesome, Ataris, you know, is our guy.
Starting point is 00:11:38 Like he is the guy here in Indianapolis. And seeing him go down was obviously heartbreaking. But I think the whole world got a chance to really realize he's entertaining This dude's entertaining. Yeah, he doesn't give canned answers. He will give actual answers. He's very likable. Yeah, he's great He's very very likable. I think even Ben Stiller and his tweet was like yeah to Tyrese Halliburton We would like to and Tyrese was in the middle of yeah At least that third three. Yeah, I mean, there are three him talking shit to the uh it was either someone on the floor. Yeah. Somebody caught a
Starting point is 00:12:09 **** ****. Yeah. Yeah. Somebody last night caught one of those. You know, how about in Cleveland? One of these? I think even people in Cleveland would be like, okay, this guy talks like he does but then he's like super kind, super nice. Obviously, him and his lady are great members of the community. It's like he's a perfect star for us which is why I think it was so gut wrenching last night watching it.
Starting point is 00:12:26 And I think why the entire sports world kind of witnessed it. Let's go to one half of the hammer, down. Cowboys, AP tone, seven and a half, I believe. It was bouncing seven and a half to seven to six and a half to seven in the entirety. They end up covering. And this Oklahoma City team, we have some stats here.
Starting point is 00:12:42 They can go down and Convers conversation is the most dominant team in the history of basketball. Highest scoring margin in a season all time. This includes a playoff run. Obviously you got the 2016, 2017 Warriors, which everybody talked about, maybe the team that'd be the greatest of all time. 1,184.
Starting point is 00:12:58 Then the Bulls, 95, 96 Bulls, ever heard of them? Pretty good. 70, 71 bucks, holy shit. And then the Thunder obviously 1,247 plus. Most 10 point wins in a season, including playoffs. Wow. Thunder 64, that Warriors team that everybody talks about. 60. Most 15 point wins in a season. The Thunder 48, including players. Those bucks teams back in 70, 71. Yeah, so good. And they used to be able to fill it up up yeah yeah I've seen some good boom boom left hook yeah like a Reacher my ace Oscar Robertson sky a young Lou oh my god come on they were just and they would say we're bucks mm-hmm hey just keep it moving that was like their thing that was the motto what
Starting point is 00:13:43 about word of box yeah that's what they would say. You didn't see the duck? No I didn't. Hand in! Word of the bucks on three. One, two, three. Word of the bucks. They would do it too.
Starting point is 00:13:52 People in 1970 were like, whoa! They got a fucking thing. They were saying more than that. Yeah, well. Not a lot of people matter. Yeah, not a lot of people matter. Excuse me. 30 point wins in a season.
Starting point is 00:14:00 Lakers. 86, 87 Lakers. Real time baby. No, I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. I'm matter. Yeah, not a lot of them matter. Excuse me. 30 point wins in a season. Lakers, cool. 86, 87 Lakers.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Wheel time, baby. I've seen a docuseries, mockyseries about it. What a run. They had 11 30 point wins in a season before. That was incredible. Celtics, wow, they were really good. Remember how good they were? Yeah, most 50 point wins in a season. Well, we don't have that on here
Starting point is 00:14:26 because obviously this is a stat sheet being skewed for Oklahoma City to be better than everybody. Yeah, I was just, you know. Yeah, but absence of information is a choice, and some people do it to say we're still telling the truth. Which is still the truth. This is still the truth. Thunder, 12 of them. Congratulations.
Starting point is 00:14:39 Truly dominant. That is domination. Throughout the regular season, only 14 losses. Obviously, the plus scoring margin would tell you they're not losing a lot of games on your plus 1247 in a sport that involves keeping score go ahead to know and they were very very good to the gamblers all season long they were favored in 78 out of 82 games in the regular season plus every single playoff game and they covered at 65%, 66, 35 and four was the record.
Starting point is 00:15:10 So when you have all those big wins, you are going to cover some really, really big spreads. 65% is, is an all time like, Hey, the gamblers are going to love you. But also, you know, we talked about the Pacers too. And you know, Tyrese being voted most over rate or whatever. I believe that was kind of like the whole team's motto because they had 10 underdog wins this playoff series which are playoff, which was tied for the most all time with the Miami Heat, which were an eight seed. So the whole team was disrespected all season long and
Starting point is 00:15:39 the Pacers were also really good for gamblers because they started off so slow for the season and they won on that run after January so both These teams in the gamblers eyes very very we got winners. Yeah Yeah, cuz I don't think anybody really knew the Pacers post all-star break because I think there was and I put this in my post That I tweeted last night Like nobody expected shit from this team going into the season nobody nothing There was really no expectations outside of Indianapolis for this team. They just made the Eastern Conference finals. Oh, it was all fluke. Everybody they played was hurt. That's literally what people are thinking. Then they suck at the beginning of the season.
Starting point is 00:16:11 Not good. Not good at all. All-star break comes. They figure something out during the break. They come back, hottest team in basketball. And then people are like, ah, it's not real though. Who cares how you are in March or February or whatever it is. We don't care in this entire thing. And then they just continue to play exactly how they played in the playoff series is last year and it was like I I think if you were a believer in them I would assume the sports folks doubted them yeah for a lot of it so you can win off all the spreads all playoffs and then Oklahoma City covering just dominated because I assume at one point the books are like should we make this a no and
Starting point is 00:16:40 they don't have to because the amount of people are betting it's like what a run for the Gamblers what a run for these Gomblers, what a run for these two small markets, and what a run for a team that had a man that is now one of the biggest voices in all basketball. Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now is an NBA champion for the Boston Celtics, an ESPN NBA pundit, and an Oklahoma City legend. Standing ovation for this man. I don't remember which playoff series, but it did happen this year. Ladies and gentlemen, Kendrick Perkert. What up Big Perk? What up fellas? It's been a minute. Yeah, it has been a minute. It's great to
Starting point is 00:17:13 see you. We've seen a lot of you. Okay. We've been watching a lot of you obviously with these NBA playoffs. You look good. You look good by the way. I appreciate the fact that when you walked into Oklahoma City, they showed you on the Jumbotron, place went crazy for you. That had to feel so incredible for you, legitimately had to feel very cool. Now let's talk about that relationship with Oklahoma City. What does the title mean to the city, to this fan base, to this state? It feels like they're very similar to us where they're, they were all in and it was fun to watch that fan base go crazy, but like for real, what does this mean for the city in your eyes? Oh, it means everything.
Starting point is 00:17:47 But let me say this major, major props to the Indiana Pacers, Rick Carlisle, Tyrese Halliburton, that organization and that fan base game six. My God, that was that was crazy. That was crazy. And I got to give a lot of love. There's no loser in this run. Like the Indiana Pacers are not losers. They had still one of the best runs in NBA history, although they didn't complete the mission for them to be the underdogs in every series of this playoff run and what what they did knocking off top dogs and doing it in great fashion by committee
Starting point is 00:18:27 And doing it the right way not being in the luxury tax Not cheating the system not trying to go out there and go big fish hunting or big game hunting No doing it the right way and creating players. Rick Carlisle maxed out guys. That's what great coaches do. No one thought Aaron Eastman would be the player that he is. I had to give him much love, writing them hard, shine on the big stage. So much credit to the Pacers.
Starting point is 00:18:58 You know, they had me more nervous than a criminal in church. I ain't gonna lie. I ain't gonna lie. I ain't gonna lie. I ain't gonna lie. So, but let me say this about the Oklahoma City Thunder, man. You know, I spent four and a half years here. Great fans, great people, first-class organization. They stayed down, Pat. They stayed down. Meaning that when Kevin Durant left and went to go to stay
Starting point is 00:19:29 Right and then all of a sudden Russell Westbrook took over the team and Sam tried to put pieces around Russ to help him try to go and compete for a title whether that was Victor Oliva Depot You know drafting some bonus or you know trading for Paul George and all of a sudden Paul George left. He wanted to go to the Clippers so Sam was forced to trade Russell Westbrook and rebuild. No excuses. They didn't feel sorry for themselves. Right?
Starting point is 00:19:59 You look at Coach Dagnall, G League coach, you know, bred in the system went through the trying times you know accepted you know you know went through the failures and just grinded chipped away drafted well right end up getting SGA in the trade back getting Chad Hongredd, Sal Preston should get a lifetime extension solely off of drafting Jalen Williams at number 12 lottery pick. We got to remember Jalen Williams was a guy that went that like had to go to the draft combine and scrimmage just to prove that he was a first-round pick. Sam Presti picked him in the lottery. This championship means
Starting point is 00:20:42 everything for this organization and this fan base. When you talk about being loyal, you talk about staying down, this is the true definition of a loyal fan base and they deserve every bit of this. Yeah, it was fun to watch them show up in the fan base's eyes. Now let's talk about Sam and Coach Daggs. They have everybody on a contract, I believe next year as well. And they were under the luxury tax as well. So whenever you talk about people building it the right way and having to build from
Starting point is 00:21:08 the ground up and develop your own superstars, which obviously they've been able to do, I think it's locked in for a bit. And Caruso obviously plays a vital role. What a trade. What a guy. What a bring in from Chicago, I believe, at the time. And then he goes to Oklahoma City and he becomes OG. They're calling him Unc down there with his bald ass.
Starting point is 00:21:26 I mean, it is a beautiful culture that they have and they seemingly have everybody coming back. Whenever you're this young of a team and you win this early, obviously the dynasty conversations are getting mentioned now. The dynasty, dynasty, dynasty. How does that become a thing? What happens in the NBA to teams after they have some success here? Or is there normally a little bit of a run for teams
Starting point is 00:21:45 that are able to stick together? Well, it's gonna be hard. Let me explain why. You have your core. You know that you have SGA who just solidified himself as a bonafide superstar by completing the mission last night. You have J-Dub and Chet Hongrey. You start with those three.
Starting point is 00:22:06 Now what end up happening, like you know, with a young team like this, right, they win and have success early. And now, rightfully so, a lot of those guys, like Aaron Wiggins, like Jalen Williams that come in off the bench, like you know, Kason Wallace, those guys are gonna want a bigger role. So I wouldn't be surprised if Sam Presti start making moves here in the near future.
Starting point is 00:22:36 And it's not because he don't want those guys, it's because he wants to do right by those guys. Right? Like he wants those guys to go out and be able to earn their money right and be able to have a starting role on other teams he don't want to do it but it's the right thing to do because remember this is a job and guys do need to get paid you want to get to the bag and so he has a million draft picks, so we expect him to draft well, but I would think
Starting point is 00:23:08 Sam would make moves and not because he don't want those players back, it's because he want to do right by those players and send them to the right situation where they can have a bigger role to make sure they set up and secure their bag for the future. Yeah, for us in the NFL, anytime somebody got cut by the Patriots, they never cleared waivers because everybody was like, if they're good enough for the Patriots, they're good enough for us. We will certainly think that's the case. We assume that begins for the Oklahoma City Thunder, which is what it sounds like you are describing. Even the guys on the bench are going to be, have a big market because people want championship caliber in
Starting point is 00:23:46 their program. Speaking of championship caliber, this guy will never be questioned on whether or not he can win the big one. D Butch has a question for you. Yeah, SGA just getting over the hump, jumping on a very, very short list, getting the scored title MVP and winning the trophy. So does this put him in rare air? Does this make him the face of the NBA now Going for in the best player in the NBA. I know that's been Joker. That's been Greek Freak I know and Edwards wanted to make him the face. What's your thoughts now with SGA been in that position? He is the best player in the league. He is the best player in the league and
Starting point is 00:24:20 History tells us when we look down, you know the past five years, right? We look at when Yanis wanted You know, we will we were waiting on that moment for him to win the NBA Championship and finals MVP We're anointed him as the best player in the league when Yocic wanted and completed the mission We're anointed him as the best player in the league coming into this series Already said that SGA was the best perimeter player in the league. Coming into this series, I already said that SGA was the best perimeter player in basketball, but for the run that he had just this season, the scoring title, the MVP sitting at different tables, he joined Michael Jeffrey Jordan this past season for us having three consecutive seasons of averaging 30 while shooting over 50% from
Starting point is 00:25:08 the field. He's 6'6". He don't rely on his athleticism. He brought the mid-range back to the NBA and proved that you could win championships by not just shooting up a bunch of three-point shots. So when you talk about the face of the league or you talk about the best player in the league, I mean what else do he has to do? He has taken over the throne in my opinion. He never missed either. Perk, it was like whenever we were playing the Knicks and I was at the games
Starting point is 00:25:37 when Jalen Brunson would have a space, any space he's making it just felt like percent, I don't know where his missed percentages are coming from because every time I see this guy shoot the ball It's going in that's just what I felt like for SGA. It's that like Every single time he had a ball in his hands was like this guy's gonna get a bucket in his it was outrageous Live in person. It's like SGA hasn't been that big of a factor. Then you look up 18 points already It's in a second order. It's like this guy's effortlessly doing all these things now people get mad about his push-off This guy's effortlessly doing all these things now people get mad about his push-off Mm-hmm. I think that is something that NBA fans are certainly getting loud about and on defense aside Maybe they're doing some hacking themselves, you know, there's always gonna be that angle especially in basketball, but the judgment of SGA
Starting point is 00:26:17 Do you think it's warranted or not? Do you think he's just pure bucket getter could get it in any era if he had to? Well, I think he's just a pure bucket getter. The fact that, look, you have guys that retire, Pat, that centers, that don't shoot over 50% from the field for their career. And that right around the damn basket. He's doing this on tough, contested tools and driving to the paint finishing in traffic over over towers
Starting point is 00:26:47 Here's what I will say when it comes down to I mean damn look at that I mean look at that but but here's here's what I will say But I've been wanting to tell y'all real quick to shift to move to shift over a little bit What the hell what are they doing? are they doing down there in Canada what are they doing that no no no it's a great thing because they are they are breeding can I can I drop a bomb real quick yeah they are breeding fucking dogs down there. Damn right. You look at this series, SGA, Nimhart, Matheran, and then Luke Doris. All four of those guys, one thing we didn't question was how hard they was going to compete night in and night out. I'm thinking about moving my damn family to Canada
Starting point is 00:27:45 because I want my boys to have some of that damn intensity in their bloodstream. You're talking about Kid Conn and the Perkins? Yeah. Kid Conn and the Perkins, you're right. That's a lie. I'm going to name drop here. And this is a weird name for me to name drop.
Starting point is 00:28:01 I will say at this moment, Wayne Gretzky texted me Okay before game seven great one and yeah, I want to make sure I get this Yeah, Wayne Gretzky tech text me. It was wild talk about a yard. Just would like it to be. Yeah. Yeah I know you're a huge Pacer fan. So I'm hoping you all the best of luck in the championship game game seven I'm not that knowledgeable in basketball, but it's been an incredible series and I know there's two canadians on indy And there's two canadians on okc wish you the best of luck tomorrow night. So then I replied Great one. Thank you for texting me Okay, let's not make it so uncomfortable and then I go it's been all so great for our city
Starting point is 00:28:45 It has brought us together. We've needed for a few years. It's been wonderful to experience Pascal Siakam Also traded from Toronto Okay, so if you want to count that as a Canadian contribution We have three Canadians on Indiana. They have two Europe Pac're a Pacers fan, plus he started his hockey career in Indianapolis, Indiana, his professional career. So I was hoping the great one would be pulling for the Pacers. He no responded that.
Starting point is 00:29:14 So I think he was just happy Canadians were doing their thing. You're not the only one noticing that. Big Perk, let's talk about a guy out of Pittsburgh. Go ahead, Ty Schmidt. Yeah, Big Perk. Obviously, this might be a little bit of recency bias, but when you look at everything TJ McConnell did in the playoffs, I mean, last night, if it's not for him in that third quarter, the Pacers probably get beat by 30. I think he was the only person
Starting point is 00:29:36 to score for like a 12 minute stretch, just bucket after bucket after bucket. But when you look at everything he did in this series, do you think that was maybe the most impressive performance by someone coming off the bench in like the history of basketball? It damn sure was close. At 6'1", the way that he's able to get to his spots, finish over bigger guys, finishing traffic the contact a damn dog a damn dog I had to I had to go find him yesterday and tip my hat off to him I gave him a hug because and then I after I gave him a hug I went to the back and I googled and I had to look at his contract
Starting point is 00:30:19 Because I needed to see what the hell this man was getting paid him and Peyton Pritchard are probably the Stay up there for his best contracts in the NBA. Yeah, I think he TJ McConaugh is getting paid 11 million dollars a year He should be getting paid 20 million dollars a year What's not? To all the to all the young hoopers out there in the world that's worried about if they're going to grow, if you need to be 6'7", 6'8", 7' to be able to make it to the league, look at TJ McConnell. 6'1", hard worker, and look where he's at right now. If he was on the market, he would be probably one of the biggest free agents available. Yeah, we're not going to let him go. We paid him last
Starting point is 00:31:04 off season. We lost him last off season. We lost him down the $11 million a year. I agree. As soon as we saw him start playing with this team, gel with this team, he's like perfect for the team. He's a shit talker too, man, which we appreciate. I love everything about it. TJ McConnell winning the MVP last night was a thought.
Starting point is 00:31:20 Legit. In that third quarter. Was it plus 11,000? It was like, wait, yeah. It was, yeah, I think it was plus 11,000. It was like is TJ McConnell. He's gonna do it. About to score 30.
Starting point is 00:31:30 And it decided that we thought we were coming back into that perk. I know you didn't think that ever. But there was a time that we were down 14. I'm like. And then I remember. He kept him afloat. Yeah, we need to. He kept him afloat.
Starting point is 00:31:43 He just keeps going, man. He just keeps going. Andloat. At Tyrese- He just keeps going, man. He just keeps going. And I hate that for Tyrese Halliburton too, man. Like, I was in that position. I was in that position 2010. You know, I toured my ACL in game six. And what's going through your mind as a player is that you don't know if you're ever gonna get back
Starting point is 00:32:03 to the promised land again and be back in that moment and I get it he wanted to be on the floor and I will say this when he when it reports when Shams first reported that he had a calf strain I was the one that said and not because you know I was being a homer towards OKC and wanted them to win. I wanted to see high level basketball. I wanted to see Tyrese Halliburton on the floor. But I was the one that came on national television and said, I wouldn't play right. I wouldn't play on it. Because I said the same thing in 2019 when Kevin Durant was dealing with the same thing.
Starting point is 00:32:43 And it's on record that if I'm Kevin Durant, I wouldn't play on it and they both, unfortunately, both of them dealing with Kenny Torres' Achilles and now you looking at the situation with Tyrese Halliburton. And it's hard because you wanna be out there. But at the end of the day you also got to think about the long haul and think about your future as well. Just
Starting point is 00:33:09 a hard situation. Yeah it sucks. The word Achilles is just like an immediate for everybody, for all parties in sports. Devastated for Tyrese. If it is, we're all assuming it's torn. We do not know 100% if it is. We have not been told any information that the world has not been told. We've all seen it though. We're all thinking the same thing. We're not doctors. Dr. Perk would be cool to experience. J Will put out a tweet about how many torn Achilles' there has been in sport. Yeah, here's the ACL Achilles I don't think I guess this isn't from J. J. Will but there's a tweet that has a listed out of all these injuries that have Like taking place this season alone and it's like I don't know what's normal, you know, like it's like when the NFL has injuries
Starting point is 00:33:57 It's like is it happening to more notable players? And that's why we're knowing about it as opposed to players that aren't like in the superstar position Sure That's why we're knowing about it as opposed to players that aren't like in the superstar position Sure Or is it actually changing because the game is moving at a rapid or speed because everything this more high contact like There's so many questions right now as every sports getting faster and faster in fact. What can the body take or is this normal? It's a last night didn't feel normal Here's Jay Willis post eight torn Achilles this season Tyrese Halliburton is the latest the NBA is playing at its fastest pace since the early 70s 108.9 possessions per game. We're chasing tempo highlights and algorithms But at what cost the product is faster, but the bodies are breaking and no one's pumping the brakes
Starting point is 00:34:35 I mean, it's a great I mean it's hard not to think that way especially whenever we see Tatum go down in megastar I don't know who that was but tell them And then we see Tyrese Halliburton, it's two superstars, megastars in the biggest moments. Yeah, Lillard too. Yeah, and Dame, I forgot about Dame time, I'm so sorry. These are superstars in massive moments where it's happening. Yeah, and Tyrese and Tatum both, I mean, they started their seasons
Starting point is 00:34:58 as you could argue with the Olympics. So like with how far back they've been playing over these last 12 months, like even that is a little bit of a factor you can assume. All right. Let's talk about the Pacers in the off season. Has Kendrick Perkins continues conversations with people walking into his room randomly. Go ahead, Joan. My bad. That was housekeeping. Yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, Thank you so much. Go ahead, John. Yeah, Perk, unfortunately that happens to Tyrese last night.
Starting point is 00:35:26 And if we're assuming it is the Achilles tear, that'll be, you know, he's out all of next season. So like, if you're the Pacers front office, like do you, what do you do this off season? What do you do next season? Like, do you just try to run it back with Nemhardt and TJ at the point and just see how next season goes and just kind of wait till Tyrese gets back?
Starting point is 00:35:42 Like, how do you think the Pacers should approach this off season now in free agency? Well, one, let me say this, guys got a taste of what it feels like to make a run and be in the NBA finals. So I expect a guy like, you know, Aaron Lee Smith, Matheran, to go back and get back into the lab and get better right and that's what that's how these paces got to this point do hard work and so they're not a team that's their first priority is making sure that they sign Miles Turner back right you want to bring him back I know he didn't have the best finals but
Starting point is 00:36:19 what he did up into the finals being one of the best shot blockers you know in this postseason obviously his three-point shot wasn't falling but no one could say that he wasn't a huge piece or one of the biggest keys for us then making it to this to this spot so you want to make sure you resign him but I will say this if you're the Pacers you do want to get better right every single season you do want to get better and reevaluate single season, you do want to get better, reevaluate your squad and see areas that you could clean up, whether that's adding someone to the bench
Starting point is 00:36:51 or whatever the case may be. I think they wait and watch and see what happens in the draft because there's going to be a lot of movement in the draft. I'm hearing a whole lot of things. Obviously, you know, Shams is way better than that than I am you know I wait for him to report but from what I'm hearing is you know they have a lot of teams that could be possibly you know moving on from quote-unquote some of these franchise guys that are already there. I heard yesterday was just the start right we
Starting point is 00:37:24 said we didn't already seen Desmond Vane get traded. Yesterday we saw Kevin Durant get moved. I'm hearing guys like Lamello Ball. I'm hearing that relationship with the Hornets is not where it's at. I'm hearing the Hornets are really taking a deep dive and trying to see if they want to move in the direction of him being their franchise guy. It's going to be a lot of things that's going to be shaken up around the NBA. Shom said it's going to be the most craziest offseason ever. Exact words I believe.
Starting point is 00:37:56 Most craziest offseason ever. And you mentioned what happened yesterday. We had been covering that every day for like two weeks because there was a new wrinkle that was seemingly breaking because whenever somebody like Kevin Durant is being talked about the whole world wants to know Connor has a question for you. Yeah per Katie trade He's going to Houston Dylan Brooks Jalen green the tenth overall pick and five seconds are going back to the Suns It feels like almost an even trade KD was actually on the stage at Fanatics Goofball Fest
Starting point is 00:38:28 while he got traded. And it felt as though- Sports ball test. Sports ball fest. It felt as though KD kind of knew that that was coming. What did you think about the trade? It feels like KD reuniting with MAU Doka, and Houston's great.
Starting point is 00:38:42 And also the Suns getting a first round pick with two starters feels great. Do you feel like it was an even type trade and are the Houston Rockets now you know one of those top four top five teams to be competing for the title next year? Hell yeah. The Rockets are a title contender with Kevin Durant and the Rockets won that trade. I Listen if you're Phoenix, how do you like it's nowhere in here you that trade happens and you don't at least get a Jabari Smith or a Cam Whitmore, right? That's that's the that's the first thing So the Rockets won because the Rockets really to be honest and this and I say this with all The Rockets really to be honest, and I say this with all respect to Jalen Green and Dylan Brooks, what those two guys done for the Rockets last year, helping them make a playoff run,
Starting point is 00:39:34 push and go the state to seven games, being second in the Western Conference, they were a huge part of it. But let me say this, the Rockets didn't give up much they kept everything that they need to go out there and compete when you think about when you think about their centerpieces Amen Thompson, Shangoom who I call baby Yocich, Tari Issa who is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league him and Aiman Thompson and then you saw Big Steve and Adams okay Big Steve I love Big Steve from New
Starting point is 00:40:09 Zealand yeah I know Big Steve go hog hunting in New Zealand with no shoes on and a big big knife really dogs is you have dogs or no dogs Rambo knife I see you got one of those dogs those what what is called some type of shepherd one of those But it probably could climb trees and stuff like that Right and then you have a coach that you just signed an extension and email you doko I believe is one of the best coaches in the NBA you figure out a way to Who I believe is one of the best coaches in the NBA you figure out a way to They're gonna figure out a way to get this friend Van Vliet deal
Starting point is 00:40:54 Situated whatever they're doing with you know, whatever they're doing with him. They're gonna bring him back who I Will say with all due respect to Oklahoma City I mean the Rockets could be the team going into next season, you know Marcus could be the team going into next season. Uh oh. You know, the front runners for, I mean, you know, the favorites for us winning it all, or at least winning the Western Conference. Don't come giving me this about KD is old. I don't want to hear that.
Starting point is 00:41:15 Kevin Durant is still giving you 27 points a night on 50% shooting, 40% from the three, and 90 from the free throw line. I don't give a damn what nobody got to say. He's the greatest score to ever play the game. He is the greatest score in my eyes to ever play the game. Okay, I don't want to get into the debate. I've not done enough research and don't feel like
Starting point is 00:41:38 I'm the one to battle you. Who do people say? Who do people say? Steph? Michael Jeffrey Jordan. Michael Jordan. LeBron has the record He does
Starting point is 00:41:46 LeBron points King Yeah Packs Put the crown on Kareem Koozie did Koozie Larry Bird the way he used to fucking take that thing from Dime Time
Starting point is 00:41:55 Yep T-Mac Yeah T-Mac yep Colby Colby Yeah Co
Starting point is 00:42:00 I mean I'm not X-Cow I'm not Listen It's all in your preference Some people like to drink Hennessy some people like to drink sorat some people like to drink tequila At the end of the day, they all get you drunk. Yeah, so it's not a debate Yeah, we're all headed the same destination what you're saying
Starting point is 00:42:20 Last question here from D butch we We appreciate your time here, Perk. You just talked about KD. Obviously, he's already moved Yannis, Greek freak, out in Milwaukee. What do you think the next best move for him is to stay with Doc and running back in Milwaukee? Or do you see him moving on, maybe possibly joining forces in Houston with KD or going elsewhere, maybe Miami with Spoh? What do you think, best move offer Yannis going forward. I Mean, I think I think any team that gives you honest Instantly becomes a title contender to me right now He's already a top five power for to ever play the game of basketball
Starting point is 00:42:58 I believe he's one championship one finals MVP from being the second greatest power forward of all time behind Tim Duncan. If I'm Yanis, if I'm Yanis, I'm definitely looking at Miami. I'm definitely looking at the Detroit Pistons. I would love to see Yanis and K.E. Cudnall playing alongside one another. Also, if you're Yanis why are you not looking at Toronto? Right? Why are you not looking at Toronto? You have Masai, you Jury there.
Starting point is 00:43:33 They have a very special relationship. I mean, those are the three destinations if I'm Yanis or maybe even the Spurs, but I heard Yanis don't want to go out with, so I heard he wants to stay in the Eastern conference, but I don't know why Yannis would want to stay in Milwaukee. Not, hold on, let me say this. Geez. Not, well, not because Milwaukee is a bad city, but he's not going to win another championship there right now. Dame is going to be out probably majority of the season. We see the Eastern Conference teams are going,
Starting point is 00:44:02 it's going to be a lot of movement this offseason. Teams are gonna get better. And, and if Yanis wants out of Milwaukee, no one should say a damn thing. This guy has done every single thing in the book to do right by this organization and take this organization to new heights, especially from an economic standpoint. Think about what Yanis has bought. He's an economy mover, right? A game changer.
Starting point is 00:44:29 You think about it, they got a new arena. You look at Milwaukee, they got new restaurants. So Yanis wanted to leave. The only thing the Milwaukee fan base should be saying is thank you Yanis, we appreciate it. And he will get a parade wherever he heads to. That's always the other side of the entire It's just like Kevin Durant
Starting point is 00:44:46 Used to be yeah, you know, even a week ago. Maybe people are like now We don't want Kevin Durant on the team that he get Kevin Durant on the team. You're like we got great score Yeah, absolutely Bumby Bumby got the trail burgers ready Paul Wall slip the Dog Kiki they got the slabs out with the candy coated paint, the super poker rims. Hey, listen, they ready for Kevin Durant. My phone was blowing up. They fired up.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Hey, Houston, Chopped and Screwed, right? That's where it all kind of started in Houston? You do it. DJ Screw, okay, all right. Ladies and gentlemen, NBA champion. Hell of a year by you, Perk. Appreciate y'all, man. Thanks for having me. Ladies and gentlemen, Kendrick Perkins.
Starting point is 00:45:24 Yeah! Perk! Perk. Appreciate you, man. Thanks for having me. Ladies and gentlemen, Kendrick Perkins. Yeah. Hurr. Hurr. Houston had a run. Oh yeah. Like a, I mean, I would assume people used to say, what do you mean, had one? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:34 Still doing it. We are still in the middle of it. Travis Scott. Hey, there's a, there's a man who has an aura around him whenever he shows up. He shows up at WWE every once in a while. Yeah. And it's just like, as soon as he walks in, it's like, holy shit, Travis Scott. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:51 And everybody kind of reacts the same way. He's huge. Huge. I didn't know. I don't mean, I'm not the biggest Travis Scott fan, but you look at his shows and like the crowds and like, like when he was on his round, I feel like lately, maybe not as much doing, you know, shows and I don't know if he's dropped the album lately, but yeah his aura, his following is crazy.
Starting point is 00:46:12 On commentary, whenever they give you something to say about the person, it's like the stats about him, 17 trillion albums. The number was just like so rare, like congr congrats, Travis Scott. Love that you're here, brother. Yeah, Astroworld must have made at least half a billion because it felt like when that was going on and that was the only and biggest you know concert that was happening. There's a dock on there, right? Yeah, there's a dock on it because the people that passed away because so many people were trying to get to it. Tell us a different story there, don't it? I think there's like an actual behind the scenes story there. All those docs that come out are very fascinating. The Ben Laden one was crazy. The Ben Laden one was insane. I actually watched most of the Karen
Starting point is 00:46:54 Reid one. That one. I've not seen that one. That's Massachusetts, right? Massachusetts, yeah. Very. Heard she's not guilty. She is not guilty. That started like a year and a half, two years ago. Yeah, a little while ago. I tried twice, right? Yeah, the first one was a mistrial. What a while ago. Crazy. And it's not over. For Karen Reed, it's over. But their investigation is out.
Starting point is 00:47:12 Let's figure out what they're up to. Now this is like damn near a murder investigation for the entire documentary. Ocean Gate. Yeah, that was a good one. What's that? The Ocean Gate one. Oh, I haven't seen it.
Starting point is 00:47:22 Yes, just came out. Watch that one. Yeah, pretty good. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it. Yes. Go just came on to watch that one. Go. Yeah pretty good Unfortunately that was going to happen no matter what is what the doc said Yeah, I think that I mean we were went to the deepest part of the ocean in a cardboard box pretty much Yeah, I we didn't watch the doc so we don't know if it is a cardboard box Oh, it is the way we were talking about because we were live when this was happening. Yes. Yeah. Yeah, so a station controller Yeah, yes
Starting point is 00:47:49 I'm not going to pop it. Oh shit with a PlayStation controller. Why should it die in the middle of a 2k jump shot? I'm not going to bother Come on. It was wired trust Sony but It was a wire control the head guy was ignoring all safety protocols He was just so obsessed with getting to the Titanic so didn't Jimmy Cameron go down or he did yeah so did he go see the Titanic or have people I know he went like the Mariana Trench I think during the Titanic thing but that's the thing Jim Cameron you know is taking a military submarine. Exactly. He understands that you can't just build something in your backyard.
Starting point is 00:48:27 Well, this is like a... Yeah, Mad Mike. Yeah, Mad Mike. Yeah, so he was trying to commercialize it. That was the whole thing. He wanted like really rich people to be able to do this on a consistent basis. So, didn't work.
Starting point is 00:48:39 Yeah, it did not work out. We're in the middle of a prime documentary season. Yes, we are. Truly. Let's learn something about something. Sure, there's some good stuff work out. We're in the middle of a prime documentary season. Yes, we are. That's true. Let's learn something about something. Sure. There's some good stuff coming out.
Starting point is 00:48:48 And then let's find out something complete opposite just a little bit later. That's the world we're in right now. It's tough. Yeah? They're so good, it can make you believe anything. Anything. And then all of a sudden, like four months later, I'll read a thing. It's like, that can't be real because of blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:49:02 Well, it turns out actually two things can be true at the same time. Oh, what would I watch that doc for? I been getting some of those shitty shows. Okay like what? Reality one love Island destination X. I believe is the name of one that looks like it's fun Everybody's living in a bus your uproads are very small I don't know how the day-to-day is for that particular show good show like that show saw a lot of commercials for love Island I think somebody's doing something on there Yeah, I tried it. It's popping. I watched the First well, what about this? Why did you see this one lady was in love? She found her soulmate. He leaves less than 24 hours
Starting point is 00:49:35 She's with somebody else Saw that clip love islands the newest season. I believe it's season 7 I watched the first episode by far the worst thing these eyes have ever seen I've seen some I've got to commit to a full episode I can't do it I just really clip every once in a while I turn video game on after the we got sir we got connection that's called filling time ladies and gentlemen joining us now this guy who was on the call for the college world series and every baseball moment that we have cared about since we have existed. Ladies and gentlemen, ESPN legend, Carl Ravi.
Starting point is 00:50:09 Yeah, Ravi! Yeah, Ravi! How you doing, Ravi? I'm doing great, how are you guys doing? Good, thank you so much for joining us and what a weekend, what a time out there in Omaha. This LSU team, unbelievable, but have to talk about the controversy first.
Starting point is 00:50:26 Umpire tosses the coach out first thing, this guy hasn't lost like 27 straight games, first year coach down in Coastal Carolina, it's the first inning of an elimination game in the College World Series, best two out of three, LSU wins the first game Saturday night, that pitcher's a dog, we'll talk about that, but then they pitch the coach or they kick out the coach in the first inning how is this even possible Ravi there's no way that anybody agrees with this sentiment or is this how college baseball is normally umped? No it's definitely not normal it's it's never normal to throw an umpire out in the first inning the guy right there just he actually tripped a little bit Don Zimmerish. Remember when Zim got thrown to the ground by Pedro?
Starting point is 00:51:07 There was a little bouncing there. In this case, that umpire tripped over the foot of another umpire. That's not why he got thrown out. It's not why he would have gotten the second game suspension. Look, you just said on your show that there are, there was a possibility that both sides are actually,
Starting point is 00:51:24 in this case case wrong versus right That was a feisty game from the beginning if you if you happen to see it, but if Base coach is he thought the third base coach was stealing signs and signals dirty baseball And then the, a little dirty baseball, at least he thought it was dirty baseball. And then, and then after that, the bottom of the first, the umpire gets into it with the first base coach. So we had a third base coach for LSU and a first base coach for Coastal arguing the first base coach
Starting point is 00:51:59 was questioning balls and strikes, which you cannot do. I mean, it's just, it's sort of like one of the cardinal rules in baseball. You, and in cases of college which you cannot do. I mean it's just sort of like one of the cardinal rules in baseball you and in case of college you cannot argue balls and strikes and then Kevin Schnall the coaster comes out gives you one of these you missed three calls like right away you know you're done you're done and then you can't come out and be you're not gonna put up a three to say, in this three, so he was done then. I wish the home plate on Papa had been a lot more demonstrative in his telling him, dude, stop. Do not come out here.
Starting point is 00:52:39 As if you'd get down to where it's dead. And that was the end of it. Yeah, all right, thank you, Revy. Thank you, Revy! Tough service. Tough service. He's driving through Omaha right now, trying to get out of there.
Starting point is 00:52:52 We heard a lot of the tough situations. I think what he was trying to say was, if we were to piece that together, both sides in the wrong here. Cardinal rule. Tensions were high, I can't be doing that. And then when he goes three like that, he's not just complaining about one pitch, which you can't do.
Starting point is 00:53:04 He's not complaining about two pitches, which you definitely can't do He's complaining about three pitches at one time So just a little bit tensions high a little bit testy and inevitably go. Are you okay that I needed that that was That was awesome. That was hilarious. I appreciate Ravi. Oh, just trying to battle through that. But boy I appreciate Ravi. Yo, just trying to battle through that but boy You know, he's hanging up his phone to scream it You know, there is some face times as a face timer where the other people can see you fully Oh, yeah And you can't see a single thing because I've been on a side where I could see the other person here going
Starting point is 00:53:40 Oh, I got bad service and then they're like walk around I'm like, you know, I could see you right now and they don't think cuz they got bad stable connection unstable connection or whatever I wonder if he had complete connection and we didn't have any or was he just powering right through a gray screen I think he was and he was just going fuck it they can hear me that's that's sounds like something right professional yeah I appreciate his passion yeah golf was awesome this weekend yes it it was Oh, yeah Now we have to go back to the 15th hole to really tell the story of the Traveler's Championship an elevator
Starting point is 00:54:10 Elevated tournament three and a half million goes to the winner. That's a big deal four and a half million US Open Okay, that's one of the majors US Open four and a half million to the winner. Obviously the prize pool much larger There's one of those elevated tournaments Immediately after a major because you see what they had seen in the past is after a big tournament tough one like Oakmore Just beat your dad a lot of the big-name golfers didn't want to play in the next tournament the next week They go I'm just I need a week Can I take a week a breather from what just happened a lot of travel a lot of pressure course beat my ass
Starting point is 00:54:39 We're gonna take it off So the PGA with the development of live was kind of forced to put more money into the pot So now after a major like US Open, they have an elevated event, which is a big deal. Travelers, big deal. A lot of money on the line. All the big names are golfing. They came down to three.
Starting point is 00:54:53 Henley kind of shot himself in the foot late. He had a great tournament though. Henley, good job. The baby brother. Had a chip in to kind of keep himself in the story. But it really came down to Tommy Fleetwood, who is, man, been a top 10 finisher 41 times. Yikes. Never won. Still living good. Certainly. Fairway Jesus. He is now 42 time
Starting point is 00:55:15 top 10 finisher in the PGA, but he was in the lead by a pretty good amount. He was in the lead actually by three strokes going into 15. He was at 16 under Keegan Bradley, American captain for the Ryder Cup. He was at 13 under. This is the 15th hole on a Sunday. That's a three stroke spread, brother. That's gonna be tough to make up. Well, what happens while they get to hole 16? Fleetwood 16 under Keegan Bradley 14 under Come oh Slowly climbing one at a time. Let's go to the 17th hole Tommy Fleetwood bogey Oh 15 under Tommy Keegan Bradley par he's at 14 under all of a sudden. We have a one stroke
Starting point is 00:56:03 Match going into 18. Tommy Fleetwood would bogey 18. Keegan Bradley would birdie 18. That's a two stroke swing. America wins on the 18th hole after our captain Keegan Bradley puts it to six feet away from the pin in a must-birdie have that would have been for par I'm sorry that was Keegan Bradley Tommy Fleetwood missed the same exact putt for par ends up getting a bogey Keegan Bradley does the two-stroke swing on the 18th hole to win the Travelers in 3.5 million to he and his caddy. Congratulations to Keegan Bradley. It was electrifying. It was absolutely electrifying.
Starting point is 00:56:51 Awesome. A lot of names in there. A lot of names potentially dancing. Scottie's gonna get there maybe even on a Sunday. Instead Keegan wins for America. In 1979, the first words spoken on ESPN weren't just an announcement. If you're a fan, they were a sports prophecy. What you'll see in the next minutes, hours and days to follow. Glad you're with us tonight. May convince you, you've gone to sports heaven.
Starting point is 00:57:20 And right now, you're standing on the edge of tomorrow. This fall the next era of ESPN begins. Sports forever. Sports are happening all around us and we're incredibly lucky that we get a chance to chat about them every single day. The Oklahoma City Thunder won their first ever title last night. I'm happy for them. Yeah. They look like a team that I'd be a big fan of if they weren't competing against the Indiana Pacers. They built through the draft.
Starting point is 00:57:54 They built their own superstars. They traded in an old Italian guy from Chicago. And they want the work. And they were dominant from the beginning of the season all the way through last night. now the Pacers obviously gave them hell the Pacers were obviously counted out through every single series that they were in because They didn't start out that great this season that was not the case for Oklahoma City Oklahoma City started out great all year long Oklahoma City fans were saying hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey talk about us
Starting point is 00:58:22 Cleveland Cavaliers fans on the East were like hey, hey, hey, talk about us. Cleveland Cavaliers fans on the East were like, hey, hey, hey, talk about us. Oklahoma City, Cleveland Cavaliers, most dominant teams in the NBA. One representing the West, one representing the East, on a collision course to two Goliaths. Well, the Indiana Pacers knocked out the Cleveland Cavaliers and ended big ball dance on their court. And then the Indiana Pacers became the monsters of the East
Starting point is 00:58:42 and they took on this Oklahoma City team that was having history written all over it All season wall the MVP Obviously they had this young coach who went to Yukon at the same time as nine-year NFL vet Daris J. Baller Did you give Dags all this information I probably gave him Buc-E's in their murals over there at the same time Yo, Dags bought the wood you had no no chance. I'm sure I gave him four. I got it. No chance.
Starting point is 00:59:06 Dags is filing you on the way to the heart after your first points. Took a couple charges. I listen to him talk. That guy's a genius. Sam, obviously the guy that put the team together, he's a genius. Ownership has a city that's ready to go to battle for them
Starting point is 00:59:18 every single night. That Oklahoma City team is an absolute wagon. And it was fun to watch them do their thing. But the Indiana Pacers lose their superstar in the first quarter and it kind of pulled a little bit of doom and gloom over the whole thing. We're bumped out here in Indiana obviously because we lost but also because Tyrese Halliburton you know his future from all accounts that we assume Sean Charani will be joining us here in a few moments. Torez Achilles last night in the first quarter. What he had been dealing with before?
Starting point is 00:59:45 We do not know. Calf tightness or calf strain. There was an ankle conversation. And then last night we watched that thing reverb. We assume we're not 100% sure we're not doctors, but it's like, that's a bummer. That's our guy. What will the Pacers be next year?
Starting point is 00:59:57 We shall see. Well, Oklahoma City started dynasty, we shall see. But at least they won one title. And that's the one that we're currently chit-chatting about for the next 364 days. Congratulations to them. Let's go to the talk stage. We have boss Connor, Attie Schmidt.
Starting point is 01:00:11 You need to take that Lario off the desk, brother. Celtics are no longer the champs. It is the Oklahoma City Thunder team that is the champion, not you, pal. You should probably remove that then. And the Florida Panthers are the NHL champion. I don't know if they should have the hockey bucket on top of Lario either there, Pa.
Starting point is 01:00:25 That's true. We can take the hockey bucket off, of course. And granted, I don't want to rub salt in the wound, but you might not know this because the Pacers have never done it, but you actually get to keep the trophies you win. This one's not moving from this desk. You're actually looking to add another one here, hopefully soon in the next few years. But Tatum and Tyree's probably going to be together all summer. So that will be good.
Starting point is 01:00:46 Good for each other. Iron sharpens iron. For sure. Getting the Achilles better. It's an isolating experience whenever you're rehabbing an injury. It's not fun. Mentally it's tough. Physically it's very demanding and difficult.
Starting point is 01:00:56 It's going to require a lot of time, especially with the Achilles, a lot of time. A lot of time. Vibes have to be good because energy can go down quick. So Tyreese you're signing up for, we assume, is going to be good because energy can go down quick. So Ty Reese is signing up for, we assume he's gonna be a long days. Tatum's going through the same timeline we shall see, a little bit ahead of schedule. So hopefully they'll be able to battle it together
Starting point is 01:01:13 and get back on the course sooner than later. They're talking about a whole season. Yeah, I mean. Nine year NFL vet, Daris J. Butler, one half of the hammer, done. Cowboys AP tone. Joining us live from an attic in Ohio is a college football national champions, two ball champion, Ryder Cup winner, ladies and gentlemen,
Starting point is 01:01:28 AJ Hawker, Hawker congrats the Oklahoma city thunder. Uh, obviously a dominating performance in the second half last night and throughout the entire season. Yeah. I mean, it's tough, obviously with Tyrese going down and seeing it, it does kind of put a damper on on everything I guess But yeah, I mean this Oklahoma City team there. It's pretty impressive especially to get to game seven They could have crumbled they could have kind of you know realize how big the moment was they could have let it all slip away And credit to them man. They're gonna be good for a long time though. That's the thing. I'm not gonna be the Pacers fan
Starting point is 01:02:00 That says Tyrese was on his way to 40 That was gonna be a 40, 15, maybe nine to 11 game. Yes. For Tyrese with how aggressive he was being at the beginning, legit. As I'm watching at home, I'm like, oh, oh, he's thinking about. Yeah, he's thinking about it.
Starting point is 01:02:17 Not just thinking about it, he's having one here. He's having, and then he was going down the court, he was pulling up for a logo. Oh, he's gonna have another. And then one more time, he was. Yeah, I think he'll have another as well. Yeah, that is what it was feeling like as I was watching. I was like, wait, those are falling.
Starting point is 01:02:29 Talking shit. Deep too. Bitch ass to the sideline. So now there's a lot more, I don't want to say a lot more eyes on Tyrese, but when Tyrese is being aggressive like that, we talked about it all serious. Now all of a sudden Pascal has a little bit more,
Starting point is 01:02:42 little bit more freedom. Neesmith maybe sitting over there in the corner able to operate. Nemard able to do his thing. Miles Turner maybe he just needs to operate in a paint not out to three because he hadn't been able to knock down three. Did make one last night.
Starting point is 01:02:53 That was big too. That was big. That was big. Not quite. Yeah, I'm not quite. No chance. I'll tell you what. I thought at any moment his next one was going to fall.
Starting point is 01:03:03 I liked that he was just shooting though. Have to. I like that. He was just shooting though after I like that Yeah, still still doing it for sure It really does suck cuz it is going to just go down as like not for okay. See, okay see it's a banner who cares but as Someone who was pulling for the Pacers it will go down as one of those like what if because there was a chance There was a chance he goes on to have like a 40-point legendary. Yeah, maybe 50. Why do we hold it back at 40? He might have had 60 points last night. Joining us now is a guy who might have a little bit more information.
Starting point is 01:03:31 Senior NBA insider at ESPN, friend of the program, ladies and gentlemen, Shom Charon. Yeah. Oh, I like what we're doing. I like what we're doing. Hotel room. I'm Kendrick Perkins style right now, you know, right right now hotel room I don't have anyone from housekeeping knocked out my door quite yet
Starting point is 01:03:48 Yeah, of course cuz you fluff your own pillows won't anybody touching them Uh, I like the portrait mode that we're currently on you look fantastic Let's get some updates from last night was Tyrese Halliburton gonna score 60 points last night And do we know anything about Tyrese Halliburton's injury at this moment? Pat, it was actually crazy being at that game because I thought we were going to be in line for one of the best game sevens potentially ever. I mean the way that the Pacers fought and they got off to such a great start. Tyrese Halliburton got off to such a great start but then he has that fall and sources tell me that he has been diagnosed with a torn right Achilles.
Starting point is 01:04:29 Of course, any Achilles injury that leads to a long period of absence, usually 10 to 12 months. So Tyrese Haliburton, torn right Achilles tendon. And this effort that he had playing through a calf injury, played through an ankle issue, clearly there was something going on in that calf ankle Achilles area throughout the NBA finals that he's been playing through, he's been managing, he's been dealing with it. He really wanted to win a championship. He wanted to put his body on the line and clearly he was willing to sacrifice his body
Starting point is 01:05:00 to try to get a championship. And he did in the terms of, you know, he's going to be dealing with a very lengthy period of rehab and I'm told he is evaluating surgery and which surgeon to have the procedure with at this point. And that's the next step for Tyrese Halliburton, is finding surgery sooner rather than later. We've seen Jason Tatum do it, Kevin Durant do it. Really within a day or two from the point of injury, that could lead to quicker return or more healthy return when he is back on the floor, I should say. So that's the most recent update on Tyrese Halliburton. And over the course of his career, he's been discounted at every stop. He was discounted
Starting point is 01:05:41 in the draft, traded away by the Sacramento Kings, lands in Indiana in the run he's been on as a pacer. This is to me, is one of the most thrilling runs we've seen from a player team in a while, maybe in playoff throughout the entire playoffs. And what do you, what do you go four, four on clutch shots? Yeah. Yeah. He's right. Throughout the postseason. So he had a, he had a really tremendous postseason. Okay. You said a lot there. You did not confirm whether or not he would have had 60 last night. There's a chance still out there on that.
Starting point is 01:06:10 You confirmed, I believe, what our suspicions were after the video of the reverb. I mean, we saw with Aaron Rodgers on the court. We've seen it time before whenever it comes to sports. The Achilles, such a nightmare for athletes, and I assume others as well. But for athletes, it's a devastating blow. Feels like the ACL they've been able to figure out a little bit better, maybe what the recovery of the rehab is. The Achilles still 10 to 12 months.
Starting point is 01:06:33 I think if we were to ask Aaron, he thought he was going to be able to return a little bit earlier. He probably thinks he didn't feel right until a long time down the road. You're saying he's contemplating surgery right now? He would probably- No, no. Tires Halburn will undergo surgery deciding now what best surgeon there is. We've seen Jason Tatum and Kevin Durant go to Dr. O'Malley in New York City for their procedures. Kevin Durant went about 36, 48 hours after his Achilles tear in 2019 at the finals. When he had it, I think it was in game five.
Starting point is 01:07:09 And then obviously, as we know, Jason Tatum injured it against the Knicks and he ended up really like 12 to 16 hours post injury. He ended up having surgery. So his was quick. Obviously it helped. He was in New York City. So Tyrus Haliburn is going through the similar process now to figure out exactly who's gonna perform this surgery But I mean it's it's gut-wrenching for the Pacers because they had put everything on on the season in the next few years
Starting point is 01:07:33 They were gonna be a tax paying team bring back miles Turner for and they're still planning to bring back miles Turner But the goal now for the Pacers will see just just how they could shift If at all or do you give this team another runway to see just how they could shift, if at all, or do you give this team another runway to see how competitive they are in the Eastern Conference? We love you Tyrese, good luck buddy. We appreciate you Tyrese, thank you for everything. And to this Pacers team, thank you for the incredible run that has been. Godspeed on recovery, Tyrese.
Starting point is 01:07:59 He knows that that is a long process. He's a professional athlete, he understands what could come with it. But if you know Tyrese, I would recommend sending some messages throughout this process, you know, any good old memes you see. Yeah, send them on over. Not about them. WWE news. WWE info, send them over to him, you know. Keep the spirits high because that's a big part of it, brother. Especially with how isolated you could feel because you're away from your team. Hopefully he's able to find you know, everything in the doctor that he's looking for for his surgery and hopefully he's back sooner than ever. Okay let's move to some other subjects around the NBA. Kevin Durant ends
Starting point is 01:08:33 up in the Houston Rockets organization. You obviously said that I think on June 11th on our show whenever the conversation started. You said it feels like Houston is very interested in this entire thing. There was a couple other teams. I believe Minnesota was in the convo. San Antonio was in the convo because Kevin Durant wanted to go there. Miami Heat were in the conversation. A lot of Heedles fans were obviously pushing hard
Starting point is 01:08:55 for him to go to Miami. Inevitably, he ends up with Houston. Would you thought was the most serious candidate, I think at the beginning, was it them the entirety? How did this deal kind of come together, Shams? It really came down to the heat and the Rockets over the last 24 hours before the trade. So really between Friday, Saturday, and then Sunday when the deal was complete, it was really just the heat and the Rockets really bidding, going back and forth and negotiating.
Starting point is 01:09:21 Both really wanted to get Kevin Durant in the fold. But at the end of the day, from Miami's end, they would have had to give up either Khalil Ware or a combination of several different players, Hame Hakes Jr., Nikola Jovic, Heywood Heisman at the number 20th overall pick and a potential pick swap. All of those things needed to be in the deal for Miami unless they were going to give up Khalil Ware, which they weren't going to do. He's their young prospect after a great rookie year. They did not want to trade him.
Starting point is 01:09:50 Essentially, he was left off the table in the conversation. That was a non-starter for them. So from Phoenix's side, it's, okay, what else could they give? The Heat decided that they were not going to go to that length with all those pieces to get a deal done. Maybe they'll do a couple of them. You know, different points, Hamehakes was discussed, Nikola Jović was discussed, the number 20 pick was discussed, the pick swap was discussed, Haywood Heisman was discussed,
Starting point is 01:10:14 but not all of them in entirety. It's really maybe two or four of those pieces or three of five. So it was never really concrete there. And from Houston's perspective, Jalen Green averaged 20 points a game, Dillon Brooks, known as a tough, gritty, 3-and-D type player. To get two starters off of a number two seed, which the Rockets were last year, I think that's where Phoenix looked at it and they felt like this is better for them for now and moving forward. And honestly, the jewel of all this was the number 10 overall pick in the draft.
Starting point is 01:10:46 And you talk about like, why now? Why did this trade happen now? The trade happened now because the NBA draft is two days away. The Suns have to get moving on getting draft prospects, getting Intel, getting them into their facility. So that's really the next step for the Suns. So I think the totality of the deal from the Rockets perspective just outweighed anything that anyone else could offer. And listen, Pat, at the end of the day, Kevin
Starting point is 01:11:09 Durant had a lot of voice in this and he made it clear where he wanted to go. He made it clear where he didn't want to go. And teams heard it, the Suns heard it, and he had leverage because he had one year and $54 million left on his deal. And in the NBA, when you're at that caliber of player and you're on an expiring contract you have some level of sway in a conversation and if a team wanted to make a swing at him without his assurance or a commitment they could have but no one did okay so is Houston gonna give him an extension or is he play this out how's that work I that will be a conversation. I do expect Kevin Durant,
Starting point is 01:11:45 his business manager, Rich Kleiman, and the Rockets to have those formal discussions on an extension. I don't know if it'll be this week, but I expect at some point in July, in August, that's a conversation that will happen. And listen, Kevin Durant is eligible for I think it's a two-year, $121 million extension. Will it be all of that? Will it be a part of that? It would not surprise me to see how Kevin Durant is approaching this. This is a partnership. I think there's a goal in mind here to end his career in Houston on both sides, on both fronts. And how can both sides be best suited to do that in a way.
Starting point is 01:12:25 Pat, in the NBA now, like we're throwing words like second apron, first apron. I mean, what the NBA is dealing with right now, what teams are dealing with is essentially some version of a hard cap. And so how can he make it easy on Houston? How can he Houston do right by him? I think that will be a conversation at some point this off season. Congrats to KD. He's 37 right here, everybody talking about his age. Talking about his age. He's 37 years old in basketball and he still got 120 million bucks waiting on him. Two years.
Starting point is 01:12:53 For two years if he wants it. Way to go K, you earned it buddy. You did it KD. James, James been aging with grace. Yeah, absolutely. And he goes to a team where he doesn't, he's just. Post killies too, something to. Oh, yeah, because he was able to bounce back. Here we go. Let's chit chat about
Starting point is 01:13:09 that whenever we're talking about this particular team. Shams, Big Perk mentioned something that was fascinating. Go ahead, Tom. Yeah, Shams, I something I haven't heard anywhere else yet. But Big Perk brought up Lamello Ball's name when he was on in the first hour. Do you have anything else on that or you this big perk have different sources you on that one you know I haven't talked to big perk about that I literally that that part I didn't see so I think the
Starting point is 01:13:35 only part I saw from big perk the only thing I listened to is when he talked about housekeeping barging into his room so other than housekeeping bothering him I didn't bother housekeeper was coming out. You want some thousand, why? He said LaMelo ball might be available for trade. Yeah, that's what he said. He said he's hearing that the potential LaMelo ball future with Charlotte is a conversation
Starting point is 01:13:55 or something along those lines. I think if you're Charlotte, you coming off back to back seasons where not much winning there, I'm sure they're open to a lot. I haven't heard anything definitive on LaMelo ball or any team or or those conversations as of yet, but This is that period of time this week Pat next week This is guys when when things are gonna start to circulate we're gonna see a lot of rumors. We see a lot of conversations
Starting point is 01:14:20 And and listen if a team calls the Hornets and makes a massive offer or makes a real push for Lamello Ball, I mean, if you're the Hornets, you have to be all ears at that point, right? Like you're at the position that they are in their franchise. What we've seen Jeff Peterson, their general manager do there is accumulate a ton of assets. Since he's taken over, he's gotten dozens of draft picks. He's been able to add players on flexible contracts. So when you're in the initial stages of a rebuild, that's typically what you do. That's typically what you prioritize. All right. You talk about timelines, deadlines, obviously drafts right around the corner.
Starting point is 01:14:52 Giannis, KD was that big domino to move your most craziest offseason ever. Has anything changed on a Giannis standpoint? No. I mean, what I said last time, I think, when I spoke about Yanis on this show was that his future is not going to be tied to the draft. His future is not going to be tied to free agency. This is a player who is at the peak of his powers. He is in the prime of his career. He's going to be able to dictate when and where, if there is movement in his career,
Starting point is 01:15:23 when he wants that to be. So my understanding is giving the Bucs every opportunity in this off season. We have this draft period here, we have free agency period coming up next week, we have trade period coming up during all of that, we have summer league coming up. What can the Bucs do to elevate this team
Starting point is 01:15:42 and surround Giannis Antetokounmpo with the players? He's been there for 12 years. I think he owes them that. They owe him that. So I expect that's all that will be the focus for the next several weeks. And then after that, after let's say two, three weeks into July, Giannis Antetokounmpo will then have to figure out what is it, do I feel like this team I'm on right now? Is this a championship
Starting point is 01:16:05 contender because that's what I want out of my future? That's what I've been on record of wanting or is it just too comfortable for him? And potentially, loyalty is the factor and the key that the Bucs are obviously playing on. But one thing I will say about Yannick and DiDucumpo, Pat, he signed two extensions in Milwaukee both times. no one knew about it. I didn't report on it until it was actually signed. So this is someone that always keeps things close to the vest. This is someone that always does things in quiet. So I'm sure there are conversations going on right now that we don't even know about around Yassin
Starting point is 01:16:39 Dutukumpo and his camp. And I guess when there's going to be something to talk about or maybe not something to talk about, we'll have something more definitive to talk about but until then, I think the focus right now is what can Milwaukee do to make this team better. I like the fact you got a message from somebody saying, hey, listen, you don't know anything's going on. What we're here to do.
Starting point is 01:16:59 One thing I do know what's going on is Yonatan Tecumpo is open-minded and he has been since I reported that during draft combine week So he is open-minded about exploring What's the best fit for him? Is it in Milwaukee? Come the Pacers can't wait to see what it is. This also includes seeing what that team does What does Milwaukee do he owes it to them? They owe it to him. And so all in they have What does Milwaukee do he owes it to them? They owe it to him. And so all in they have They have one first round pick they can play with they have a few second round picks they can play with
Starting point is 01:17:40 Yeah, Shams can we expect fireworks when it comes to when the NBA draft is actually happening Are we gonna see some crazy movement especially early in that first round? actually happening? Are we gonna see some crazy movement, especially early in that first round? So, AJ, I was actually just doing some research. I think the last time a massive trade happened on draft night itself was when Jimmy Butler got traded from the Bulls to the Timberwolves. That happened, I believe, during the first round of the draft. What was that? 2017, 2016? Somewhere in that window. So, it doesn't happen typically on the day of the draft. But again, the fact that now it's two days, I do think that could change things. Last year, day two was really dominated by where Brawny James was going to go.
Starting point is 01:18:17 This year, we'll see what could come up. We don't know yet, obviously. But usually trades of that magnitude though happen either before, after, around free agency. But listen, it's a two-day draft. We'll see what fireworks could happen. We know when that draft is too. We can't wait to watch it. First round coming to you live on... I'll be on it. ESPN debut of Moa. When's the debut that's coming up June 25th? So on Wednesday
Starting point is 01:18:54 With me, okay, so Wednesday where we're Carter, you know, oh Auditorium? We'll be at Barclays. We'll be at Barclays. Oh, okay. Night 2 is my favorite. Remember day 2 of the draft? That was when Yogesh got drafted. No, I'm talking about when they had the New York Seaport. Do you remember? Oh yeah, they had a studio.
Starting point is 01:19:24 Yeah, and they had... Yeah, I don't know what they're doing this year. I don't know what they're doing this year. It's all about that one. Putting them in cargo containers, probably. That was awesome. That was awesome. They had like nice tables.
Starting point is 01:19:33 It was nice tables. They were nice tables. There was only three people with tables and they were all in chains. Yeah, that was awesome. They were in a cocktail. They were in a break room. It's hard for me to take the NBA Draft Series. It's hard for anybody to take.
Starting point is 01:19:43 There's a Keurig sitting right behind the players. Well listen, your boy is going to be on it. Okay, it's a Sean's production. That's right. We're going to watch. Because you said that the thing that swung the KD trade was a tenth overall pick. I had no idea tenth overall picks meant anything. They would trade a thousand of those away if they could some teams I'll trade you 14,000
Starting point is 01:20:09 ones okay for next year what number who cares and you give me two players back like that sounds like the 10th picks the 10th pick though I mean even even the NFL draft we care about these things you guys don't look at five second round. All right, we'll give you 2031, 2037, 2038, 2039, 2045, 2052, and 2061's first round picks. Done. That is an NBA trade right there. You have tweeted that out right there that I just fucking put out.
Starting point is 01:20:39 You guys seemingly don't care about draft at all. And then you say, well, the number 10 overall pick, that's the one that kind of swung the entire thing. They would treat that alongside 45 other ones. I think teams have their phase. I think sometimes you're big on the draft. Sometimes you might not be. Sometimes you're big on getting the big name players.
Starting point is 01:20:59 And you know, what we're seeing, you know, I will say, what Oklahoma City teams like Orlando, Houston, with Indiana, what they've done so well, they've drafted the right way. They've been able to keep their assets. They've been able to keep flexibility. And that's hard. That's hard in this league because teams are so well accustomed to going and running their operations in a phase. Let's go into this phase of big name hunting.
Starting point is 01:21:22 Let's go into this phase of let's just accumulate all these assets It's like where's the where's the in between? Where's the middle ground? We've said we during these NBA files We did see that though Okay One pay attention to draft thing cuz you're on it and also because it sounds like it matters to some teams Yeah, and then other teams does not matter 12th overall pick somebody said Jalen 14 I think
Starting point is 01:21:44 Okay, what people's tires? pick somebody said Jalen yeah yeah yeah the Williams 14 I think okay what pick was Tyrese? Tyrese was an eight maybe six eight somewhere yeah I thought he was ten I believe. Tyrese kind of fell in the draft Tyrese kind of fell in the draft there were I mean the Knicks had a chance to get him those several teams had a chance to go get Tyrese Halliburton. 12th overall pick Tyrese Halliburton. Okay, we got it right fourth number. There's only 12 options available We're Anything watch a lot of dress. Yeah, you're right. They all kind of yeah This is the fifth one of the year up for drafting as a whole with the W and the MLS
Starting point is 01:22:19 Yeah, I did watch the MLS draft. That was a big deal Lou Messi got drafted yet again in her Miami I'm sick of it. When's he gonna come to the Columbus crew of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds? Ladies and gentlemen, Sean Shawney, thanks Sean. He's gonna be on the draft Wednesday night. Yep, huge. Can't wait. What's that? June 25th. June 25th. Stuff will happen. We were hyping that up all week. All last week. It's hard, we're in the finals bro, we're in a championship. It's hard to think about tomorrow when today's taking place. And today is our team winning the title. Okay, now the future of the league is on Wednesday. I remember we talked about it last week
Starting point is 01:22:51 because I said, geez, trying to steal the momentum. So quick. Oh, okay, got it. It's not a bad idea, actually, if you think about it from a concept-wise. People were chit-chatting about the negative conversation around the Pacers Oklahoma City Finals series on sports media a lot
Starting point is 01:23:05 of people talk about how the games weren't being sold well or being talked about in a proper way do you see a lot of that yeah it's interesting I wonder if that's everybody or if it's just the internet what's that with just the internet was negative no because it does feel like everybody is considered negative these days oh everybody like I think I think there's a lot of negative conversation. Those just get, tend to get louder. Like everything, whether it's the logo on the court,
Starting point is 01:23:33 or even the hats after the finals, like, oh, these hats are making my, like it's always something. Really? Yeah, literally everything. I thought that was the best hat they've had in a long time. I saw it this morning, how bad the hats were. Yeah, that's crazy.
Starting point is 01:23:44 Well, there's people saying things how bad that yeah, that's crazy There's people saying things are bad that we know the Internet's very negative aren't that bad Yeah, like what point pretty games. What are you thinking? Me personally yeah, I'm first here comes my sweet the foot the yard goats hats are other range goats I understand but the hats are filthy. I thought the hats look good. They actually they boom That's a nice hat little rope hat perfect a different style hat than the normal hat the rope Yeah rope and see the rope. You don't like the rope. I don't mind the rope, but I'll have that guy I'd rather no rope. I just like the the cursive writing in the small logo. I feel like a lot of times Yeah, you could eliminate the rope. Yeah for sure. Yeah Cuz the the logo
Starting point is 01:24:25 Oh values the style hat though. You guys are trying to get rid of rope. That is a style I appreciate the rope if I have to choose no rope Yeah, but if you're wearing a golf and people wear a rope at golf Yeah, put that out there this that thing sits up sideways You can really because the nicest golf hat that I've ever seen is sitting right next to me. There's no no You can't compare as rain range goats. Well, you can't also rope in a yard goat. That's a fitted. No, that's not a fit No, not a fitted. No, it's not. Oh, so it's if it's really good then it doesn't fit like a fitted No, I mean it's perfect. You know, I will say sometimes these ones with the like mesh sides
Starting point is 01:25:03 Really dig into your ears big time. That kind of hurts a little bit. But once again, Bubba has it figured out. The yard goat hat is the most comfortable. I believe live is happening this weekend. They have a scramble happening in Dallas. Yes, they do. Dallas, Texas.
Starting point is 01:25:17 And I'll tell you what the yard goats are. They're not doing too good. They're at the bottom of the leaderboard. Shut up. All right, let's talk about other things that are happening around the sports world. Not just the yard goats. We would like the yard goats the leader. Shut up. All right, let's talk about other things that are happening around the sports world Not just the yard goats We would like the yard goats to get good big time. I saw commercial for the Indianapolis live event yesterday August it's coming up August sometime. Yeah, it's gonna be so hot
Starting point is 01:25:35 We'll go enjoy golf ball otter bingo live What was it that package it yeah,. Bubba owes us a package. No, he has not. Oh, he's talking about the golf balls. Yeah, he said he was going to send about a thousand. Well, Utah also said, remember Utah said, like three days ago, they're going to send them, we'll see who gets here first. We'll be the goats or the mammoth.
Starting point is 01:25:54 And we shall be. Come on, man. People are trying to supply us balls over here, AJ. Everybody's heard that I quit golf and they're like, well, what's the problem? It's like, you have a thing right in the back to hit. Yeah, but we don't have enough balls. to hit you have enough balls we'll send you balls we'll send you balls. Those mammoth balls need those. I'm getting that lab putter too. You got your putter yet? You draining every single putt? In my mind yes I'm
Starting point is 01:26:15 getting men's putt. Are you gonna putt like Bryson though or you gonna do the straight arm thing? So I don't know if I'm gonna do completely locked out. I don't know if I'm gonna do that. I think you have to. But I am gonna I am gonna do this one. With a weird claw grip, you gotta do a weird claw grip or something. I'm gonna do this one. The sort of long one, not the all the way up one. Sure. The churn and butter one. The sort of long one, and I'm gonna wedge that thing up against this arm here.
Starting point is 01:26:35 Isn't that what Keegan does? And then I'm gonna turn that thing open, I'm gonna, and I'm clap bombing that thing. Okay. I like that. I like that. Yeah, I am. And the lab allegedly will keep that thing straight. What are you? What are you laughing about? That's I just love it. I've heard other people tell me okay
Starting point is 01:26:50 You can't miss a pole with this thing is it's so pure it rolls so nice I was like it doesn't like you still have to putt the thing in the right direction No, right tell me where it goes and don't worry about the speed the speed It'll be fine. You got a wedge that thing up against here cuz they look so uncomfortable Comfortable Use your hands you need them Nick just reminded me. Thank you Nick. I'm gonna have my metaphase on too Calculate Left to right three cups. No problem. I'm a wedge yet
Starting point is 01:27:26 So I'm a bitch right off my forearm just like it and I'm a line that thing up like this And I'm going straight back cuz the lab putter doesn't let me do anything else. No, it doesn't no Straight back and then fucking right in all it's a long putt man. What are you putting from the fairway? Seriously, I'm sick of it Tommy I can't think of it anymore. I forgot. Keith had one of those yesterday. Tommy Fleetwood maybe needs to think about doing one of these. Yeah, sure.
Starting point is 01:27:51 Something on those seven footer. Is that what he had? He had a seven footer, I think. Did it hit a ball mark? Did it hit a spike mark? What do you think? It did bump right a little bit. Boom, right there.
Starting point is 01:28:01 That thing maybe rims in. Instead, Tommy Fleetwood is not blessed by the golf gods and that thing rolls aside And also the guy that's trying to beat you right now Just got a perfect read off of your putt because he is literally a foot inside of you So worst-case scenario on all fronts. Yeah, he came right inside of him. Yeah I'm ready. Oh put inside of him. So it was kind of a Keegan Bradley. Yeah easier He's going up there. So don't do the claw grip apparently keegs had a 64 footer Yep, early on in that round. He's probably using a lab just like I'm using
Starting point is 01:28:30 I like the new stance though Yeah, yeah, cuz I won't be able to see it right I think I get down here and I do have good peripheral don't act like I do not sure but it's hard Yeah, really get a good eye on it. So this way I can I can just kind of yeah, that's guarantees You got make everything some people put while looking at the hole. Yeah, I five feet. That's Jordan's Jordan speed Yeah, yeah, he's think now so don't steal that Yeah, but I think inside five feet. He's still got pretty good I like that too though
Starting point is 01:29:03 Cuz then you can walk right after it if you know it's going in you can walk you can walk it In boom and it's gonna be tough for me to be able to relate to you guys when you're struggling because that's what I have on My face. Okay. Okay. What is sunglasses? These are just sunglasses now granted Your sunglasses maybe oh boom read the green please these are my sunglasses remember this is not AI this is not these are just sunglasses my eyes are very sensitive to light I've told you guys that in the past my this is how I think actually this is how I would normally see the green anyways so it's not cheating I'll drop the ball here I say it's gonna be a long round real slow
Starting point is 01:29:42 yeah what that's gonna be a very long round You got it then I'm lining that thing up like this and then I'm I'm a little bit worried that if you move your head though Get a new line. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's true Hit that you're gonna hit the ball though. It doesn't hit it for you. You're gonna look like you're talking about you Yeah, perfect. You look at this. This is gonna take two and a half hours for each It'll be green you get to yeah I'm one button every fucking green and you think that's gonna take two and a half You're just worried about your three pots over there. Okay, and if you want my sunglasses, you can't have them How about that if you shoot the 63 it might be worth taking an hour and a half on every hole to make sure No, if you one putz he's cutting out half the time. That's a good point. That's what I'm saying
Starting point is 01:30:23 Yeah, I might be 1500 Yeah, there's a real chance. How many options do you have on this with these sunglasses? My sunglasses, it's the future I do worry that the way this is not gonna be how I think it is. He's got you gotta sink the putt Oh my god, of course, let's have a couple more options pop up on the screen Well, you never know what you gotta make the putt you gotta make the putt and remember these are just Or door. All right He's just showing all the options yeah, welcome to the game
Starting point is 01:30:56 He's be nice to go order a hot dog here though, too. I think you can top left Carton and you still leave a 15 footer six feet short. Yeah That's it. Tells you how far back to go 15 footer six feet short. Yeah Tells you how far back to go. Okay. Here we go. Yeah, this is cool I didn't know this is where I'm just I would just build a robot to make every putt for us Well, I just touched the ball too. I need not to that. Yeah, that's one. All right, this is going in no problem I was putters a little He also for the good of everybody pal pal, I need you to make this. Who is this guy?
Starting point is 01:31:26 Please smoke it. Scotty chef. Eight feet down. We need this to go. We want this to look weird. Call. Why is everybody not want to already outside of it? Wait a minute.
Starting point is 01:31:37 Where did you guys think you made it? That was a great pot. What are you talking about? It's a great role. That was a great putt. What are you talking about? That was a great roll. That's a good two putt. That was a good two putt. Anyways, and if you keep talking like that on the green when I'm out there with my sunglasses, wait until you see what I do with that two inch putt.
Starting point is 01:31:54 I'm going to get all the measurements. I'm going to get all the measurements for that two inch putt. I can't wait. I'm going to beat the game. I'm going to be all the way back. I'll talk about some other sports that are taking place. There was a sports fest that happened with Fanatics over there in New York City every human on earth was there Yeah, that's what I saw from outside looking in and there were some events that certainly captivated folks the WWE entrances were a big hit
Starting point is 01:32:15 They were here WWE entrances were big Megan Morant Sam Roberts Cathy Kelly judging people's entrances I think they were stern but fair is what everybody said about their judging and So a lot of people do a lot of things out there. Then you know came to the sports. There's basketball. Mm-hmm. Saw Tom Brady put up some shots. Saw DJ Khaled put up some shots. Good shots. Saw Cody Rhodes, John Cena put up some shots. He's a wet jumper. Oh yeah. He killed it. Into the washer and dryer, old-school, classic. Love that. Little couple, couple snapshots there. And then it came time to throw baseball. And this has really become the great equalizer for the athletes of the world
Starting point is 01:32:50 Let me see if you can catch and throw a ball and then we'll do the whole athlete conversation easy That's what ball sport people say that is what ball sport people say anytime somebody says this is best athlete on earth This is best athlete on earth. We agree great athlete. Can you throw and catch or is that not possible? So then normally opening pitches become like a little bit of uh okay it's an athlete oh never played sport before in our life we might have something that has debunked all that yeah and i am a little bit worried that we can no longer just judge people outright off of their opening pitches what joe burrow was throwing a baseball it looks like his guys never thrown anything in his life before that mlb sign on the left needs a look out.
Starting point is 01:33:26 Now first of all, the camera person needs to back up. Let me throw a little bit. Hi! I think it's a wall. Okay. He's throwing it like a football. He need, you know, he got a much bigger wind up in the baseball. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:33:35 Okay, that's two. He's throwing real good. He had to pitch. He had to pitch growing up. I said the same thing. So we looked it up. I don't think he played high school baseball. Now that one looks a little bit closer.
Starting point is 01:33:44 He's just dialing it in. Obviously, he's aiming for the thing right there and straight in front of him He's to the left every time Joe aim right Joe just one time Joe aim right Keeps going left same miss same miss same miss somebody needs to tell him hey Joe There you go boom aim a little bit more right pal because his football throw in motion is obviously carrying the baseball to the left now We've seen Paul skeens throw a football at big night up and it was the same thing. He's throwing it like it was a baseball and that thing was turning to the left. I think it's a grip release thing between baseballs and footballs and obviously the size is vastly different. Paul Skeens were broke that day. Okay. He was throwing gas. I think Joey burrow obviously would inevitably
Starting point is 01:34:24 end up hitting the target, but he's's too good nobody like he couldn't find himself just playing the the pool sure some people think they'll be able to figure it out I know I'll be able to throw it straight I'll be able to throw it straight what he needed to do here is you were fucking aiming for a fair way on the right yeah you are aiming right and you were throwing that thing right back in real time but a lot of people are very flustered by the fact that Joey B pulled some there. I still don't understand it. Like how, like regards professional quarterback, I don't care what sports you play or didn't play. I don't understand how you continue. Okay, back up, back up. He's got that nice tight
Starting point is 01:35:00 football release. So that's why doesn't he change it? I mean the athlete yeah yeah of course after the first one ours it might be messing with some people though honestly I don't think so cuz he's taking it pretty serious if he's telling people like hey back up back up I'm trying to throw this baseball I think he didn't want to hurt his hand keep going a little bit more if we can his hand yeah so at the top it's like what at the very top as it's exiting it's's like clearly like a football, ankle, wrist flip. Like he's even doing one of those.
Starting point is 01:35:31 I think that's why it's all coming down to the left, personally. Yeah, if he did that like twice, hey, that's gonna happen. You can't be doing it six straight times and maybe, hey, I don't wanna change my release, blah, blah, blah. We look like an idiot.
Starting point is 01:35:43 And you're also- No, he doesn't! to change my release, you know, blah blah blah. We look like an idiot and you're also Respectfully respectfully Bad look for just the NFL as a whole because of this I'm sure it's not just him, you know Taylor LeWan also just threw a terrible first pitch like all of a sudden I'm thinking of NFL players to her love throwing baseballs Jordan love all hold on Why can't NFL guys throw base too strong to split the balls too small I still think there is a chance that Ruben gimmicked all those baseballs because he everyone saw how he threw and he was like I can't have these guys coming in and just put you know paint in the center I'm gonna screw
Starting point is 01:36:16 a hole in one of these balls or something like that and I'm gonna you know make these guys have a first a pitch like I had I appreciate the fact that that could be happening and I appreciate the fact that Joe Burrow goes out there in front of everybody and does that. OK, I do appreciate that. I also like the fact that he said, give me back the football. Yeah. Give me back to a football.
Starting point is 01:36:33 We have a season to be had. I was worried about asking Paul to throw that football for big night out. Sure. I was like, hey, I don't know what your procedure is, your routine is. It's heavier. It's bigger.
Starting point is 01:36:44 I don't want to be the one that hurts anything. He was like, I'll throw it. OK. I'm like, yeah, but I don't want to your procedure is, your routine is. It's heavier, it's bigger. I don't want to be the one that hurts anything. He was like, I'll throw it, okay. I'm like, yeah, but I don't want to, he goes, I got it. And he fought that second one. Yeah. He's firing that thing. I was firing that thing.
Starting point is 01:36:53 I mean, it was so, and then he goes, yep, all right, see you later. And inevitably, Sidney Crosby would make it. Ben Roethlisberger made it. So I gave $2 million away at the end of the night. Said, $3 million away at the end of the night. Paul Skeen's absolute gentleman sends me a text and says, hey, I realized that I saved you a million dollars away at the end of the night and said three million dollars away at the end of the night. Paul Skeen's absolute gentleman sends me a text and says, hey I realized that I saved you a million dollars so I will sleep well at night because I missed and I said hey
Starting point is 01:37:11 very kind of you to think that way. If it would have went in though would have went to a great family wearing Philadelphia Eagles jerseys in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. That's right. Paul Skeen's great pitcher. You know who else might be? Who? A pitcher on the rise. Who's that? Shohei Otani. Oh! This weekend. Let's talk about Shohei getting back on the Mountai Schmidt. Yeah, I mean he looked good. You know, he's still in the, we talked about this with Jet. He doesn't have the luxury of going down to the minors and doing like a couple, like spot starts down there to kind of get ready. So they just got to throw him into game action.
Starting point is 01:37:43 But his first start, little rough, you know, as as to be expected kind of battle and control a little bit And then I'm in clipstein, bro. Exactly yesterday against the Nationals he gets in there He's touching a hundred miles an hour He strikes out two guys and then not only does he strike out two guys and his day is done So you'll just see I mean that's a oh Filthy filthy little split finger That's Joe Burrow. Yeah Yeah, exactly. Exactly. That's all show heads. He's trying to hurt that so that's the that's the difference So show hey looks great on the bump. There you go. I'll have another sit down, please two strikeouts
Starting point is 01:38:17 Yeah, two strikeouts. How many total outs in his time playing he'll he pitch one inning So he got three outs so two-thirds of the outs he recorded were strikeouts. Okay and then? And then at the dish you know this is just Shohei being Shohei he's gonna I mean just so effortless just so effortless just poke it out Oppo and I think this was the one that maybe was the triple yeah so yeah this was the home run and then he also had a triple a bases clearing triple later in this game He had five RBI's so, you know, he's not gonna get the win or anything like that But if you're a Dodgers fan and you see what Shohei is doing on the bump, you're like, okay, here we go
Starting point is 01:38:55 Like, you know when you think this team couldn't get any better if they get a Shohei Otani who's close to a hundred percent Pitching as well. Boy, it might be tough to beat the Dodgers in a seven game series Now I hear that there is potential baseball people that are like why we wasted any time on his bump Why are we wasting time to strikeouts three outs in total? What are we is he gonna become a dominant pitcher for the Dodgers? I mean he is when he's like, you know, healthy, he is a very dominant pitcher. And I don't know. I mean, you hear Jets say like, Joe, he wants to do this. So like, it's going to happen no matter what. That kind of ends the conversation. But just for me, the Dodgers have 15 guys, like 15 pitchers
Starting point is 01:39:37 on the disabled list right now. So like they they can't afford to to to lose show. They just can't. And it's just you look at what he does at the plate like he is a monster So it's it's kind of one of those things where it's like is it even worth him potentially getting hurt not even talking Tommy John But like if he does something, you know does something to his finger and he has to miss two weeks or whatever It's just I don't know if you want to throw off hit the the the routine and like how much of a zone He's in right now at the plate. Okay, so at the plate he's a monster. Is he like Big Dumper or no?
Starting point is 01:40:10 No, but you know why. Tell me about Big Dumper. Who is Big Dumper? Yeah, Cal Raleigh, catcher for the Mariners. Switch hitter. I mean, and you just, you know, the proof. That's what he looks like. Switch hitter. I mean, and you just, you know, that's what he looks like. Yeah. Let's go. He's an absolute dog, but yeah, I mean, fastest to 30 homers in a season since Barry Bonds, um, obviously, and, and that was the year Barry Bonds, you know, set the home run record. I mean, it, it's one of those things where he, he has unbelievable power, but he's got a big dump. He's got a big dump or one of his teammates
Starting point is 01:40:44 started calling him big dumper in 2020. I saw his mom isn't a huge fan of the nickname, but he's got a big dump. He's got a big dump or one of his teammates started calling him big dumper in 2020 I saw his mom isn't a huge fan of the nickname, but she does love that the fans support him But yeah, big big dumper like this is just day in day out now, you know, like it's you'll look at a box He's a big dumper with a big dumper. He probably did some big dumpers. I would assume he does. Yes He does we watch it. He goes left-handed and right-handed Yeah, switch hitter. Yep Hmm, and he just he just clobbers the baseball if catchers aren't normally the best hitters on the team Okay, so he's in the middle of an at-bat. Yeah, okay. He's batting righty
Starting point is 01:41:18 Pitcher gets pulled middle of that bat. Does that happen? Uh, sometimes. Okay, so he's batting righty new pitcher comes in What what would the pitching team want to go against a righty? They'd want a lefty against a righty or a righty against a righty? It kind of just depends, but yeah, typically you want opposite on whatever like the person's going. If you're the pitcher.
Starting point is 01:41:38 Yeah. Like, so if, if you have a lefty at the plate, a lot of times they will throw righties, but like me personally, I always thought like it was weird facing a left-handed pitcher because everything feels like it's like inside it all kind of I mean matchups matter but it kind of just comes down like can he switch sides yes yes like in the middle of an at bat yeah so if let's say oh my god he's batting I need two strikes on the right side I'm not doing anymore I'm going on the other side yeah if they if they pulled it yeah
Starting point is 01:42:10 exactly there is a clip of that guy it's some guy in Japan who like every pitch is going from the right side to the left side to the right side. Electric. Yeah. Yes. How come Big Thumper's not doing that? He's kind of like sorry mom Big Thumper not doing that. He's getting locked in on one side of the plate then hitting bombs is the best matchup or is it just how he's feeling? Is he trying to keep it equal on either side? Like I have so many questions Why doesn't everybody do this? It's very difficult. Yeah, very very difficult Especially when you get to them like I think there are a lot of guys who like a younger age Like maybe even in college like they'll their whoever, you know, they're dad or coach or whatever like guys will switch it But then you get to the like it's very very evident But then you get to the like it's very very evident
Starting point is 01:42:49 Like sometimes like guys like okay, they'll say he's a switch hitter, but then it's like this guy's hitting 165 from the left side of the plate and he's hitting 320 from the right side of the place You look at well if you look at him and all of these like if it's a lefty He is batting from the right-hand side if it's a righty He's batting on the left-hand side because he's I assume he's like I would like you don't When the breaking stuff is breaking away from you, it's it's kind of a pain in the ass So I assume he hates that so he goes opposite of what the throw of all he wants to break to come towards him Yes, is this normal like back in the day or not even back in the day If this was 2005 the assumption is you know cow rally big thumpers on steroids
Starting point is 01:43:24 I guess he always been this good and this is just his best year ever Yeah, I think he's got like ridiculous power and now he's just kind of starting to put it together And this will be the kind of thing I mean like we both sides tie Yeah, once I which one is he more dominant like what power wise that I don't know because again the Mariners are way up there They play a lot of late games So like I'll see mostly I haven't looked at like his splits from both sides of the plate. But I mean, you already, we're not even in July yet and he's already got what, 32 homers?
Starting point is 01:43:52 So he's doing pretty good from both sides of the plate. I think there is a strategy he should be using, a Japanese high schooler, every single pitch. Yes. That stance. It's going to be tough to get a strike. That's okay in Japan. If you do that in the USA, the pitcher is throwing that directly at your head.
Starting point is 01:44:08 He's on base. Yeah. He is on base. You're right. You're right. I mean, that's, oh, he's gonna think about bunting on the left side. Oh, wait a minute. You know what?
Starting point is 01:44:17 I think I got a better look at it on his side. Now he's standing up. No, he's back down. Jeez. Now he's up. He's skipping. He's bouncing. Oh, what are you gonna call?
Starting point is 01:44:25 wait wait you gotta hit his two, he's got a hit in the back, you gotta hit him in the neck he's about to do all this and get struck out no he's not he's hitting a bomb for sure fake bunt oh that's no way he's got a strike two two two two here we go he needs a foul one off at least he needs to work this a little bit swing Big thumper needs to think about it. What's that? Why didn't I do that in my game? How come though? He said this Worst what are you talking about? He got going on base He got he got lucky lucky dancing in the batter You like to dance in there? Yeah, I mean you can do but again, you know If you strike out then you look like the biggest jackass on the face of the earth So you're allowed to sit in there and do a full you do whatever bullshit you want in there. Yeah
Starting point is 01:45:17 Yeah Big thumper needs to think about it. He's good. He's very good. Shout out to baseball. Shout out to soccer that happened this weekend. We did it. Yeah! We won it all. We won the big tournament. We won it.
Starting point is 01:45:37 We got guys scoring goals. USA USA USA USA Soccer USA winning games. Okay, we played Haiti big time win We got a couple guys on the team scoring a lot of goals A lot of that guy, bang I think he getting his first real action for team USA Heading into the World Cup, getting an opportunity
Starting point is 01:45:56 Maybe because other guys aren't on the roster Maybe Coach Paunch is looking to find some more guys You know, I think a lot of people think That there isn't a lot of good soccer players in America Okay, because every time we get a team we go out there seemingly Underperform underwhelm. I think there's just a lot of guys and we don't get the right guys I think there's a question on whether or not we're getting the right guys So I think punch he's trying to get his right group of guys and we're winning games now granted
Starting point is 01:46:21 We can only play against who we can play against against okay, Trinidad Tobago, Saudi Arabia Haiti you can only play against who you can play that's right Okay, that is it But it feels like team USA might be finding something comfy and we still have some time before the World Cup to Get holistic in the boys in there and really but are they oh yeah, are we winning the World Cup company? Is there a chance they are playing well right now Malik tailman plays for PSV Gumpies, their chance. They are playing well right now. Malik Tillman plays for PSV.
Starting point is 01:46:44 Bayer Leverkusen, one of the biggest teams in Germany, just put in a bid for him because he's playing so well at this tournament. They play Costa Rica Sunday in Minnesota, the quarterfinals of the gold cup. This is who you were talking about here. What's his name? Malik Tillman.
Starting point is 01:46:57 He scored three in this tournament. He's played unbelievable. And we got another guy. Five goals, nine games. Who is it? Patrick Ajameng. He plays for Charlotte, I believe. He, that's the most goals in first nine games since Josie, El Tador Yeah, okay. Yeah, that's some real players Charlotte. What league are they?
Starting point is 01:47:14 Remember they fired five coaches in the first three years. Oh MLS Charlotte. Yeah, Lou Messi plays in MLS to Charlotte friends. Okay. Yeah. All right. No, no, these boys are rolling. You know what? You know what team USA isn't playing well? I don't want to talk about that. I would like to take us back in time whenever flag football was becoming a topic of conversation in the actual football world, tackle football world. And flag football is having a great, great, great push as a father of a two yearyear-old daughter named Mackenzie, who I think is going to be great at being elusive with the flags. And it looks like she's going to be able to throw good flag football will be a great sport
Starting point is 01:47:54 for her to play. I'm happy there is a development, but there's a conversation at like the highest of levels on who should represent United States. Is it the flag footballers that do flag football all day every day, or is it the greatest in the world at football? That's a conversation. Flag football, different sport, then tackle football. Although they're playing football at the end of the day.
Starting point is 01:48:14 Here's a quarterback of the US flag football team. Mr. Doucet, just like a year and a half ago, I believe. At the end of the day, I feel like I'm better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game. I know he's right now the best in the league. I know he's more accurate. I know he has all these intangibles.
Starting point is 01:48:33 But when it comes to flag football, I feel like I know more than him. Okay, and I can respect that because there are different rules. With that being said, we can't be losing to Canada. Okay? Oh, boy. You guys can't be losing to Canada okay It's a strong squad. It is not. The Canada one is. It is not. That is the problem that I'm having here. Now I learned this from Football Canada's official senior men's senior masculine obviously you guys speak French in there because it is Canada. 25-21, they go on to play Japan, I think in the next couple of days, super duper international ball. This is flag football here.
Starting point is 01:49:08 It's embarrassing. Can't happen. Can't joke. Who was playing, who was on the team, who was responsible? Yeah, who was on our team? We haven't been able to get all the details, I just saw it disposed. I don't know if Doucet was playing in that once.
Starting point is 01:49:21 He's on the roster. He is on the website whenever we checked it, who was playing, he is on the roster, and maybe Canada just just has a team or maybe also we should think about Lamar Jackson playing on his team Yeah Collar Murray playing on sir, you know even even let our college guys play on this team If you want to make it all college kids. Yes. Okay. There we go. Let's anything We can't be losing in flag football at the Olympics in the United States of America that cannot happen just like
Starting point is 01:49:52 Just I won't I'm getting worried I'm not gonna I'd actually take it a step further I'd say we we should we should win every game by at least a hundred. Yep Did you see that Rico? Yeah, send a message. He's playing right. He needs to just do a little end around ski. Yep. One of those things. Exactly. They have a two quarterback option thing in flag football. I watched these high school girls do it. Pro Bowl weekend, unstoppable seemingly. Great play design. And you get Tyree out there in motion. I don't think we're losing to Canada ever again. No. Okay. Might lose to them in hockey. Yeah, right. Have you seen our roster, Gumpsh?
Starting point is 01:50:26 Have you seen our roster? Dang. I have. The US or the Canadian? US. Yeah, it'll be pretty much the same teams as four nations. And with a little more sauce.
Starting point is 01:50:35 Yeah, a little more sauce for the Canadians as well. I mean, both teams will be better for the Olympics. That's how it should be. Tom Wilson playing for Canada? Yeah, he'll be out there. Do you guys even have enough to field a flag football team I mean how it looks like it I mean I wasn't sure but here we are across that's probably good flag for sure right lacrosse guys kid Canada's probably Canada's definitely the
Starting point is 01:50:55 quarterback and we got guys thinking they're the best things ever play football that's a joke I'm not saying I should be on the team. Why not? Good. You need to kick her in the punter, right? What about the Heisman House? Can we just put all the Heisman House people in it? Bingo. Just one. Dez, Reggie, Tebow, Bo, Bob, Cam. Is Cam in there? I had ball coach. All of them. Put them all. Coach Saban, have him coach the team. Yeah, yeah. Sure. Johnny Foo. I don't like have him coach for me. Yeah, sure. Johnny Fooke. I don't like those losers in the Canada. Arch, okay. Eddie George.
Starting point is 01:51:28 But Arch. He's in good shape. Everybody out there. Sure. That's what we should have done at Super Duper International Bowl. How you start is not how you finish at the International Bowl. The United States of America is ready to get back. Just like soccer in the gold cup.
Starting point is 01:51:40 Or whatever cup we're in. Canelo and Terrence Crawford got into a little bit of a shoving match, had a stare down over the weekend in Saudi Arabia, getting ready for their massive fight September 13th on Netflix. Fight of a century, fight of a generation, greatest fight of all time. Yeah, all of it. All these things can be titled for this. Dana White, obviously his first venture
Starting point is 01:52:06 into the boxing space since being a boxing trainer before he ended up taking over the UFC. Obviously TKO alongside Turkey and the Crown Prince putting this all together. Knockout bonuses on the line. I think this is gonna be a spectacle and I can't wait to watch in Allegiant Stadium. More stuff on Netflix is just so clutch
Starting point is 01:52:26 I don't have to worry about when this is happening because I know I won't have to try and find it It's just gonna be right there on Netflix. Thank God and before we get out of here An American legend has passed away CEO and founder of FedEx Fred Smith father of Arthur Smith's current offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers has passed away. If you don't know this man's American dream story from Marine to obviously Fortune 100 company CEO. At one point he actually went to Vegas, played blackjack, made enough money to save FedEx and launch it into the place
Starting point is 01:52:58 that it is today. So rest in peace, Fred. You done good, pal. You done good. American dream story as we continue digitally on YouTube, ESPN+, Disney+, and TikTok Live, we can't thank you enough for allowing us to do this for a living.
Starting point is 01:53:11 Congrats, Oklahoma City, right, AJ? Absolutely, congrats. That was a well-deserved win. We can't wait to watch your parade. I assume it's gonna be insane. We'll be back tomorrow. Be a friend, tell a friend something nice might change their life.
Starting point is 01:53:22 We'll see you tomorrow. All right, I feel like I really nailed it had to get the Fred Smith on yeah yeah they did it on the Traveler's Championship cuz FedEx they did like a whole little like tribute talk about Fred Smith well in the fact I think he was I think he was in the background or maybe thatEx. That was his brother. That was his brother. Yeah, what was his name? What was his name? Anyways, whole family. American dream stuff.
Starting point is 01:53:49 Like legit. And former Marine. URA! Hell yeah. Love that. Dick Smith? Look how big, think how big FedEx is. Yeah, was it Richard Smith?
Starting point is 01:53:59 This dude started it. Yeah. And at one point, had to go to Vegas and like, because I think there was a shipment or something, couldn't afford, couldn't get done. If you didn't. The flights. Yeah, I think it was planes. Company goes bankrupt if not able to get this done.
Starting point is 01:54:11 At a place where we have this amount of money, need this amount of money, if we don't get this, it's all gone. Let's go to Vegas. To the table. Hit that thing, bang. We got a company. Now that's like a, that's what,
Starting point is 01:54:24 I mean, that takes so much courage America That is America man. Let's go in for it and Rest in peace to him and obviously well wishes to his entire family. We forgot to meet a couple Dogs across the board. All right, let's get a little break on the other side We'll wrap up everything else that happened in the sports world and we'll also congratulate the Oklahoma City Thunder. Mm-hmm Big Park was on today. that was good. It was. Carl. Yeah, Rabby was good today.
Starting point is 01:54:50 Rabby was great. I loved watching Rabby. And we also have some breaking news, AJ. Tomorrow on the program, it'll be a Tuesday, and Aaron Rodgers will be here. Wow! Wow! It should be!
Starting point is 01:55:07 First time Aaron joins us at the Pittsburgh Steelers tomorrow. Wow! Can't wait to catch up? A goodie. A lot has happened since the last time we talked to Aaron. Yeah. And now he calls the city of Steelers home. Mm-hmm. Oh, mama, I'm here all my life from the long,
Starting point is 01:55:27 all my life from the long. What are we going to talk about tomorrow with him, AJ? I don't know. I hope he wears his new jersey like this, though, for the, you know, when he comes on the show. Me too. I don't like the, you know what? You guys have been a little loose
Starting point is 01:55:40 with your questions in the past. Let's keep it football related. Like what? All right. OK. Talking about. Let's get to a related. Like what? All right. Okay. Let's get to a break. We'll hear from some friends up to nice. It might change our life.
Starting point is 01:55:49 Take fire. Fire. Fire. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.
Starting point is 01:55:56 Wow. Wow. Ah. Sports. Sports. Are the greatest. That's AJ Hall. Talks today was here at Boss Connor and at Ty Schmidt.
Starting point is 01:56:05 Ty, that hat is the most startling, but certainly one you're most proud of. It feels like. Hell yeah. Shout out to the yard goats. My boys. We're about to put one together here and they're going to, you're going to see them climb in the live leaderboard. Okay. Yeah. Sources close to the yard goats have said, Bubba's thinking about having one here.
Starting point is 01:56:22 Oh really? Yeah. This weekend. Starting this weekend in Dallas or wherever the hell it's at. Texas. Yep. Dallas. Dallas, yeah. Yep.
Starting point is 01:56:29 You knew. I knew. I knew. Confident. Yeah, exactly. Be a confident goat. Well, I've been watching so much Yard Goats lately. I feel like I've been traveling with the boys,
Starting point is 01:56:37 and they're everywhere. So it's, you know. Yeah, sometimes you don't know what city you're in. Exactly. One half of the hammer. Dad. Cowboys AP, Tone is here. Tone, how do the Gamblers do last night the Gamblers?
Starting point is 01:56:46 You know if you're an okay, see fan you did well with on okay see the entire I'd say Well is there was there a percentage of who was on what do we know who was heavily bet last night It was about 50-50 to be honest really yeah throughout the entirety of the series Early in the series it was on okay See and then like once you're the Pacers and you start winning games as dogs It came more that way last time I looked at it was on Saturday. It was like 54% on OKC So I mean it's basically 50-50. I think that fanatics Sportsbooks refunded anybody that had Tyrese Halliburton in the parlay or any of their prop bets. I think DraftKings
Starting point is 01:57:21 Did it too Foxy said he saw Fandl it as well you as Gumbler There has been some refunds that people that actually gamble despised now granted getting money back from a Sportsbook not a bad thing for anybody were pulling free to always get money from a sportsbook but there are some decisions that were made that were like counter to actually gambling like a Once-in-a-l a lifetime anomaly of a play happens. Whether it's the annexation of Puerto Rico and somebody throws it out of the back of the end
Starting point is 01:57:48 zone on a kickoff and now it's a safety, it's two points, it swings one thing or the other. They were giving like refunds, some people were giving refunds to that and a lot of gamblers were like, ah, like that's like because there's people that won because of that too, like that's part of the game. The injury one though doesn't feel like you're as against I was always someone who once you put that money in on the bet if it doesn't hit you know you know the risk you're taking when you put the money down last night I was okay with them refunding for that injury and I think I said it earlier was the first time I watched an athlete get injury and I actually injured and I actually cared about that athlete and actually what like
Starting point is 01:58:23 it affected me Emotionally so first time ever. Yeah, what an asshole. It's so bad Wow, I remember Neil O'Donnell had some That he had a cord though had to have something throughout your life that's on Sidney Crosby had that Cushion they called it or whatever but it was a spinal concussion. Yeah, the NHL was wording it as a Concussion I believe it was a spinal concussion Devastating for the city Jason Kendall had a grisly Ankle injury. Yeah, it is pop time slow down. He never was able to bounce back from that. I didn't know any of those guys
Starting point is 01:59:02 Cody Rhodes we've known we've met Tyrese from that. I didn't know any of those guys. We've known we've met Tyrese. He had that torn pack. Sorry for caring about Tyrese. Sorry. No I appreciate that it's just we've learned you care about nobody else. What we do care about Tyrese, I was bummed out too man. Yeah. Like very bummed out. Like I tweeted that I'm sick. It was like I think that is kind of how I felt. I've never felt that way before either. To your point, I've never actually experienced that. There was a West Virginia run where I think Deshaun Butler got hurt.
Starting point is 01:59:32 I think Deshaun had like an Achilles or an ACL or something and Huggins goes out on the court. And it was like that West Virginia team had a chance, certainly felt it there, experienced it there. It was like that one with the way he reacted too. It was like he knew, I was so bummed out for him saying no Yeah, like I imagine his whole life. Yeah, seven mba finals Three or four from three to start. It's about the we're about to drop 60 maybe tonight here
Starting point is 01:59:56 and instead There's other plans and your killings is gone. So I was bummed out for him as well It was first time like yeah, like I had like a sick feeling in my stomach. Well also the the worst part of it was at least for me personally games one to five it felt like that was a reality hey this might happen this might happen this might happen. Game six they play so well he's rested in the fourth quarter like going into game seven last night was the first game where I wasn't thinking about hey he might tear his achilles just because it feels as though all the other games that was kind of the thought yeah Like he was gonna be able to finish the game. Yeah Yeah
Starting point is 02:00:30 It was first there was a lot of confidence from the reporters about like game time decision convo and then he's gonna play And in our eyes, it was like he looked pretty hurt coming off of some of those things Yeah, like whenever he got he shot a three I forget who was against it might have been the finals against Oklahoma had it been I guess, shoots a three from the corner, he goes gets the rebound, he gets knocked, awkward, awkward landing, and then he's down, then he's limping pretty good after that. It was like that looks like a real, it looks like a real injury there because a lot of these basketball guys roll their ankles and just keep rolling. Like I don't know how I roll my ankle
Starting point is 02:01:06 And I'm fucking that the thing blows up to the size of a balloon. It's weak I'm in pain these guys fucking roll their ankles and then they go to the back I assume they get some torto or something. I don't know what else they get and then they're jogging back I'm like I just saw your shit sideways. I've no idea how you do it. So it's not a knock against that I don't think it's a toughness thing, but the way he was like limping It was like that doesn't look good at all And then he said it was a calf strain and it was an ankle it was like well There's one thing in between those two like I want you know, there's a lot of it was just I didn't think he was healthy
Starting point is 02:01:39 So whenever he does come out and have 14 and rest entire thing. It's like, okay, he's good He's good. Yeah, and then game seven. It's you're right. There was not even a single thought Yeah, it was like we're gonna get best on best here tonight. Yeah, bingo and then it started that way Making shots on both sides bang bang bang We're about to have a shootout in the NBA finals game seven almost and then that's it They heard it the same way you heard it the other night. Like it was the same exact fall Yeah, the game five it drive to the and I thought too I mean, that you have to give the Pacers a lot of credit for the way they responded right after that to be leading at halftime,
Starting point is 02:02:10 because like something like that. Had this circle around. Exactly. And all those guys knew like you could you could see that it was just like, oh, shit. You know, like we still have to play, you know, and it's this isn't a game in the middle of the regular season. Like this is game seven of the finals We have to try to figure out so like props to them for I mean they look great in that first half Are we ever gonna get an Achilles figure out her? Oh, you know like el atrocious has the Achilles factory out there in LA
Starting point is 02:02:35 The New York out here. It sounds like O'Malley is the NBA's version of the Achilles, but the Achilles is a real Yeah, I'm not gonna say Death sentence, but it's like you're doing real time after the Achilles, but the Achilles is a real, I'm not gonna say a death sentence, but it's like you're doing real time after the Achilles. ACL obviously you're still doing real time, but I feel like they figured it out a little bit more. Like medical advancements have been happening in the orthopedic world, feels like on a regular basis.
Starting point is 02:02:58 Shoulders, elbows, knees, I think hips are even getting to a spot where they're a lot better than they once were. It's like the Achilles is still like Achilles everybody still has the same reaction. Hopefully we figured out and this is No, just the worst part of sports, you know It's the part we all kind of signed up for us all in the fine print You know, whatever it doesn't matter what game what moment, you know, you have that risk
Starting point is 02:03:20 But if he had to do it, you know a hundred times again and playing a game seven He's gonna suit up and go out there and play. Like there's no way he's pulling himself out of that game situation when you get hurt. It's not, it's not just a pain or the injury. Like you're laying down there. You're, you kind of, I'm sure the off season comes to mind. Like, damn next season comes to mind, you know,
Starting point is 02:03:38 all these different things. You have no off season. Yeah. Cause it, and like, so you go from the highs of the high to like the lowest of the low. So it may, it's tough. And and to your point like you do have to kind of you deal with those emotions as a teammate as an opponent We've been in games. I'm sure where you know, somebody gets a bad injury, you know The stretcher comes out is everybody's gonna need praying and it's like alright whistle blows. You gotta get back to it We kill that exactly. So it's crazy
Starting point is 02:04:02 But they still gave us a great game on both sides on that note Jalen Williams was on first take this morning and was asked about how they reacted whenever Tyrese gets hurt he gave a great answer we know we can only imagine actually just seeing and witnessing when Halliburton went down what it was like for the Indiana Pacers what was it like for you guys to see him go down like that earlier in the game? I know that's the competitor, that's the competition, you trying to beat him and what have you, but what was that like for y'all collectively as a team? Can you take us to that moment?
Starting point is 02:04:35 Yeah, first just shout out him in general, just playing with the risk that he was. Like knowing that and still going out there is bad respect for that. And then just as a competitor, I think the human side of that is like, you don't ever want to see anybody get hurt, especially in a big game. I always try to put myself in somebody else's shoes and for him to have the season that he had the playoff already had for him to end it like that sucks. We never wish that on anybody. But at the same time, that's kind of like one of those things
Starting point is 02:05:04 where we have to recalibrate and not let up off the gas. Cause he's not playing, you know, they're a really good team and we still had to close the door on them. Yeah. And they did in the second half, obviously they ended up pulling away. TJ McCall goes crazy. Nemhard does his thing.
Starting point is 02:05:17 Nemhard's smooth. Yeah. Yeah. He's very smooth player. Pascal obviously going to be, Neesmith got a lot of fouls early there Didn't love that great defensive side of the ball. Matthew was fighting math. I love math. Yeah, love what he was doing He's good ball player. Yes. Yes. He can get hot at any point and if he was gonna get hot I mean that would have been a great time. Yeah for it to happen
Starting point is 02:05:37 He kind of did he like rolled his ankle to and was just jogging down to court Limping down limping back limping down limping back and then just full speed again I'm like how these How do these guys do I don't know how? Because the ankle I saw also some people bring up the shoes on the internet Because I guys are wearing low tops now everybody used to wear You know some sort of high top or mid to kind of help keep everything kind of in place that was in theory I wonder if new science says like hey if you tape tape your ankles It's just as good as having high top re yeah
Starting point is 02:06:06 A lot of them wear a lot of more those pretty bulky ankle brace as well. Like look at Steph Kurt He has those bulky like tie type ankle braces They're all I feel like most players have some kind of ankle support Even if they're wearing low tops, they have the same ankles or the or the deal they run so much Yeah, hundred art stop start stop, especially when you're that tall like that just so tough on your body Yeah, you're cuz you got it. Everything has to move, you know, and everything is just kind of like for their body Like literally everything is just bigger. Yeah long games like Tyrese You can't really prehab like an Achilles can you I mean you can obviously strengthen your ankle and do all that kind of band
Starting point is 02:06:42 Work and all the different things to strengthen up Around your foot, but like your Achilles if it's gonna go it's gonna go I feel do calf strains lead to Achilles or is this maybe something else that they were just maybe a really low calf strain That's like, you know where it attaches maybe I don't know I'm thinking a calf strain like right in the ball of your calf like right in the meat of it Yeah, you're talking about right up here in the plate. Yeah. Yeah Didn't KD and Danes on both have calf strains. Yes, they both did. Are these being missed? Could be. I'm not saying misdiagnosed. Yeah, maybe they were never calf strains and it was always Achilles, but I would say there's definitely a correlation. I've
Starting point is 02:07:15 had a, yeah, it sounds like there's a calf strain to Achilles correlation. I mean, obviously we should get somebody smarter than us. We should call Dr. David Chow. Oh yeah. We should call Dr. David Chow. He's been all over it. He called out an Achilles two nights before I believe. It was a he called it Achilles tendonitis. Yes he did. He said this is more like Achilles tendonitis from the way we're looking at it. Before game three he said it. Oh yeah that was a few days ago. Yeah that was before. That's what he was at. Now is he right? We still don't know. It's still being talked about as a calf strain, but it's like I've had like a sore Achilles before.
Starting point is 02:07:49 I think it was at like training camp. I thought it maybe was my cleats were a little bit too tight at that moment, so I got loose for cleats. I was like, no, it's actually the Achilles is a little bit sore, and I don't do a lot of running at all in my position. And every time I took a step, I'm like, oh, this thing's going to snap. Scary. This thing's going to snap. It is. Yeah, it's scary. I had like a four-day every time I took a step I'm like oh this thing's gonna snap. That's scary. This thing's gonna snap. It is. I had like a four day period where I was like
Starting point is 02:08:07 my Achilles is about to snap and then people like no it's just something some sort of strain on something it wasn't Achilles was close there. That fear which I assume Tyrese had to have. I think that's kind of what he was going like the game that he kind of had a dud I think he just wasn't and then he finally got to the point where he's like fuck it. I can't play like that. Like I have to just Blinders exactly I have to go blinders on here. Yeah, and then Mentally that would be a lot too. That's what that's what Perk said Yeah, he was playing scared at halftime and I said it on the show I think the next day like wouldn't necessarily like he was playing scared of the opponent
Starting point is 02:08:42 But just cuz like yeah, whenever you're an athlete like you want to just be Out there reacting and playing like whenever you're free Yeah, you don't want to be thinking about okay if I plant going left or plant going right like you just got to react It's reactionary sport. So yeah, it's gonna be some type of fear and that's some type of hesitation But you got to think in game seven. I'm sure it like to comment point. All right, you know, it's time to roll He knows his body he's going through different things and you can't like AJ said it's hard to Prehab that shit if you have like a hammy or a quad or something you can get some acupuncture You can get some this and that you know kind of help but that Achilles is like man
Starting point is 02:09:14 It's a mystery still well and that's right to your question of like have they figured out the Achilles or will they ever? I don't know if there's anything they'll ever figure out, but it does feel as though recovery has been better. Like ACL, you mentioned that's kind of developed back in the day. If you got an ACL injury, you were done. Now it's kind of a standard rehab and then you can get back to where we are. I mean, we're seeing it with Stefan Diggs now and then when it comes to Achilles, like Kevin Durant, he's about to sign a two year, $121 dollar extension at the age of 37 and he had an Achilles What four years ago when he was in his 30s? So like for Tyrese and Tatum and you know Lillard who knows because he is a little older but for Tyrese and Tatum
Starting point is 02:09:54 They're both in their 20s. I don't think there's any future is bright. Yeah, but it might be delayed Mm-hmm a little bit no doubt in the rehab and recovery Like I just the Achilles is just just thinking you're missing the next season. Like that's that's what's brutal. Like you think okay, I rehab all off season. I you know, once we get back with the boys in camp, it'd be good but to think no, like I'm I'm gonna be just early into my rehab when the next season even starts. That's what's tough. Yeah, that is very difficult. Mentally,
Starting point is 02:10:21 the vibes are big deal. The vibes are a big deal. Who are a big deal who you're recovering with who you're Rehabilitating with maybe him and Tatum will be around at same time which is good news anytime greats are around each other It's obviously good, but sure that's a tough thing. We got a call in to dr. David Chow If he gets back to us, we will certainly get some more information Okay, we're sending them a zoom right now. So we're about to get some answers on that. That's good news before we get What's that? Starting five is gonna be crazy. Yeah, yeah. What? Netflix? Yeah, because I assume they'll continue with
Starting point is 02:10:51 him with surgery. Yeah. Halliburton. I mean, I know Jalen Brown and Jalen Brown had the knee injury. He got surgery two days after the season ended. Man. Can't see the rehab process. It's great for us as fans. KD. But KD's on it? KD's on it. Yeah, it's KD, Jalen Brown, SGA, Halliburton. All the trade talks are definitely going to be on there. I mean all that. Bingo. You would think, yeah, because it was still,
Starting point is 02:11:16 they'll cover the finals and they'll, you know, KD figuring out on stage that he's getting traded. Yeah, at Fanatics Fest. What a moment. Yeah. Yeah felt like everybody was there. Oh, yeah, wasn't there everybody there Did you know a lot of like a lot of zany behavior at FanFest from what I've seen? Sponsored on did everybody's having a sports con that's kind of how you look at it I listen to Rubin talk about why he did it how we did it. He's losing a lot of money on that Fanatics is not making money off of that thing. He talked about He's losing a lot of money on that. Fanatics is not making money off of that thing. He talked about, yeah, this is just more of a celebration
Starting point is 02:11:48 of sports and hopefully people associate fanatics with the celebration of sports. Because everybody was there. Everybody. He's losing money? A lot. A moving merch. I think he's saying.
Starting point is 02:11:58 I mean, you got to pay those players, all those athletes to show up. I think they're losing a lot. He, I don't know. He's losing a lot of talent there. Everybody. It's like that is certainly an experience I mean fucking everybody was there. Yeah, I was looking at the I was just opening my phone
Starting point is 02:12:10 I'll go feeding me fanatics fest and I was like what and then that what they got everybody last year He said he lost 15 million to it that so I assume even more for Maybe a little bit even if he but there was that in 33% I mean there was 10 million dollar loss there was 50 more thousand people that showed up this year's day Congrats, it looked like everybody was there. Yeah, congrats on a fun time But yeah KD finds out that he's getting traded whenever he's on stage chit-chatting about that. That's a good moment Mm-hmm. What if Katie knew before it? Definitely because you heard Shams today say Katie a little bit more say bit more say than, you know, because he knew who he is.
Starting point is 02:12:45 Okay, I'm not going there. Yeah, he knew. No, no, no, we're going to trade you there. We're just trying to get the best offer. Sweet. Can I talk to their GM? Yeah. I'm not playing if I come there.
Starting point is 02:12:55 Okay. All right. Sounds good. How's that offer from that team? Not good anymore? I wonder why. All right. Like, I'm not saying he did that But technically he could do that way
Starting point is 02:13:05 He operates with the free agent house way back before Golden State like you could assume he's doing okay Yeah, die we don't hey we do not know if he's telling people I'm not coming there But we do know that in basketball especially if you're Kevin Durant like you can certainly say that's a bad move for you guys I don't want to do that. Mm-hmm complete control of the NBA heat He fans aren't happy super what no, they're not happy really I mean he was looking KD what we would have there, you know a Tyler Jamie Hawkins Jaime Hawkins, they wouldn't trade him. I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm still a big Rouse guy I trust Rouse. Okay, believe it says no, I trust I believe in Rouse and we will believe this man whenever he speaks about the Tyrese Halliburton injury news that we've received today via Shams Sharani making it official.
Starting point is 02:13:53 He has torn his Achilles. This man was an NFL head team doctor for 17 years. He does live injury analysis with Sports Injury Central, which is sicscore.com. They're also all over every social media platform. Official injury expert on SiriusXM and Fox Sports Radio. What you will see from this dude and his crew, I guess, of doctors and trainers and medical field people, they will watch film, slow it down, give their diagnosis from film. These are doctors doing this. So it's like, if we're doing this, we're assholes. Doctors doing this this allowed to do that and then almost immediately
Starting point is 02:14:27 gives out a timetable on what could possibly happen it is a weapon to follow along with ladies and gentlemen dr. David child doc how you doing oh yeah I'm doing great and thanks so much and yeah you're right about the team of people I'm actually in Atlanta at a perfect game baseball tournament national 12 12 year world series with my son and our staff sent me the video last night of the NBA and unfortunately it was a very clear Achilles tendon rupture on the same side
Starting point is 02:14:55 that he's been having issues with. So that's too bad. Okay, so let's talk about that. I believe it was like three nights ago or two nights before the Achilles tear. We saw from your account, Pro Football Doc, that you thought it was like three nights ago or two nights before the Achilles tear we saw from your account pro football doc That you thought it was Achilles tendonitis from what you were seeing on the film. We have not had that confirmed I don't think that's ever been stated by Tyrese or the team
Starting point is 02:15:14 But why do you say that whenever you watch it and is that different than a calf strain or is that a continuation? Of a calf strain. How does this all kind of work together? They are all related and and thank you for pointing out that I have not examined Halliburton. This is off of video and off of what we call insider knowledge about injuries, not insider information. So after game two, you remember he limped quite a bit coming off the podium and before game three,
Starting point is 02:15:40 he was seen with kinesio tape and different tape on his right leg. That's when we opined that it was likely Achilles tendonitis, which is microscopic injury tearing to the Achilles tendon. He played through and played well and then obviously had the calf strain, which is somewhat related all on the same side. We all remember Kevin Durant, right? 2019 Golden State Warriors calf slash, and we were saying Achilles tendonitis at the
Starting point is 02:16:07 time and he suffered the similar rupture in the NBA Finals. So it is related, but you know, I don't like how people look Halliburton, the Pacers knew what was going on. This is not a surprise to them. If we at Sports Injury Central can know this from afar after game two, that there is some risk of Achilles tendon rupture and injury. But this is the NBA finals. This is the Super Bowl. This was game seven. He'd been playing well leading up to this. If there's a single day chance of rupture, most athletes like yourself, AJ Hock and back, you're going to take the chance
Starting point is 02:16:41 at Halliburton. He should be applauded for trying to play through. It's just very disappointing that it happened. Agreed. Okay, final question for me as we are taking you away from a tournament. So Achilles tendonitis does lead to Achilles tears. Like for instance, Christian McCaffrey, we heard about Achilles tendonitis like four days before the season started post everybody's fantasy draft and they said he has Achilles tendonitis we had never heard of that before I don't think I did at least I don't know about everybody
Starting point is 02:17:11 else tendonitis obviously on the knees I think there's tendonitis in other places Achilles tendonitis what exactly does that mean and is it automatically if you don't get it figured out an Achilles tear you said single digit percentage there what are what is the science in stats say behind Achilles tendonitis and Achilles tears happening? There is a, when you have Achilles tendonitis, that is some inflammation and injury to the tendon itself, which makes it potentially more vulnerable to tearing.
Starting point is 02:17:37 If your normal chance is 0.01%, you might be 1% or 2% with Achilles tendonitis, right? And, you know, people gave McCaffrey and the 49ers grief for resting and not playing him. I mean, those were regular season games and you didn't want it to get worse and you didn't want it to progress and you didn't want it to tear. Whereas this is NBA finals and let's ride with it. The unfortunate thing is now that he's ruptured it and he's actually the third player in the NBA playoffs this year to rupture it. The unfortunate thing is now that he's ruptured it and he's actually the third player in the NBA playoffs this year to rupture it. By the way, all number zeros, which incredible odds of that, right? But this means next year, really bad news. The bad news for the Pacers
Starting point is 02:18:18 is not losing the NBA finals. It's they're going to miss Halberd and basically next year as well. Yeah. Heartbreaker. All right, we appreciate you doc Thank you for the information being on top of it. Ladies and gentlemen at pro football doc worth a follow. Dr. David child All right, so AJ did you hear anything there? Achilles tendonitis is bruising and inflammation of the Achilles that sounds like a nightmare Just mentally if that is what he's going through. Once again, we don't know. Well, especially now.
Starting point is 02:18:46 Thinking now in the future, if you are an athlete and you have a little twinge in your Achilles or whatever, and say, it might be a little tendonitis in there if you get it scanned or whatever, like what? Okay, what can I do? How long do I need to rest this? Like, there's so many questions. I would imagine athletes everywhere,
Starting point is 02:19:00 this is something that you have to find a way to stay on top of. Yeah, because Christian McCaffrey's back full speed this year for the San Francisco 49ers. So there has to be a way to call Madonna. Yeah, but there's no time to rest. Like that was the entire thing last season where it was like, Hey, he might be out for a couple of weeks. And then they, cause all you can do is wait. So then they wait a couple of weeks. And then remember when he started to ramp back up, then he got it in both of his Achilles, Christian McCaffrey, and then they
Starting point is 02:19:23 had to shut him back down. and then he went to Germany. So it doesn't feel like there's like a specific thing or timetable you can do. You're just kind of, you're just kind of screwed. Isn't the human body insane? Yeah. Isn't it? You don't have full blown decaps till you're like 10 or 12. I mean, the decaps, the patella is certainly one conversation, but how about this?
Starting point is 02:19:44 You know, the Greek story is the Achilles right you get dipped into invincibility or whatever basically and then the only thing exposes Achilles Which becomes your Achilles heel this man's Achilles heel great movie Achilles, yeah, Troy so good another bag Brad oh, yeah, are you watching it? Yeah. Open at night. You're going open at night. Duh. Brad Pitt F1?
Starting point is 02:20:09 I hope Brad can make it exciting. Think Brad can make F1 exciting? Uh. Uh. I think Brad's actually making the reality show, right? Didn't Brad make it in the reality show? He's doing a movie on the reality show? No.
Starting point is 02:20:20 No, no, he's a racer. He's in the movie. What? The reality show F1 Driving to Survive was good. Yeah. It was great. Much better than the racing. The Brad Pitt movie probably just going to be Brad Pitt reality TV.
Starting point is 02:20:32 I don't think so. No, no, because since it's the movie world and everything, they're amping it up a little, and he will be passing people on the track, actually. So it is kind of movie magic. They're doing that separate F1. Is it on green screen? Yeah. No, no, he is not of movie magic. They're separate F1, but green screen. Yes another no no no he is That's real in the trailer. Hey, they put him in a two-cockpitter. Oh, yeah. No, I think he was driving
Starting point is 02:20:53 An F1 car yeah, so cockpit they're going a little you know BP was like fuck these guys and just Way going like 250 you think he ate anything in there? Probably. He's a beater. He's a shrimp cocktail, I'm sure. The story of Brad Pitt in his character in the movie from what I've seen is awesome because I think he's like a NASCAR legend and then he's switching over to F1 so he's got that
Starting point is 02:21:18 moxie like, I'm fucking, I just want to take a bitch. I can race a fuck. Is it got four wheels and a wheel? Yeah, I can race it then well Tom Cruise and he were posing on the red carpet out there Just Tom Tom down with this movie, right? Same director as yeah. Yeah, but like yeah the way they like filmed it I think is very similar to how they film Top Gun. Yeah People are gonna get jacked up about f1 Joseph Joseph Kaczynski. Oh, for sure. This will give F1 another bump.
Starting point is 02:21:47 And they said- Until they watch the real deal. Oh, stop. Hey, we're in the middle of a great fucking season right now. All right, boys? Are you? Who's up for a land vote? Yeah, we got the All Street Grand Prix coming up.
Starting point is 02:21:56 The What? The Grove Street Grand Prix. The All Street Grand Prix. It's a party, it's a party, it's a party. Grove Street. That's what I was thinking. F1 party, F1 party. McLaren's dominating this year.
Starting point is 02:22:07 What? Max is obviously in the mix. George Russell's coming off of winning Mercedes. So it's not just one guy winning every race. Did Vander Stoppins lead engineer go over to McLaren? He went to Aston Martin. They stink? Louie.
Starting point is 02:22:19 Aston Martin stinks, yeah. But he's just getting there. Even with Louie, they stink? He's just getting there. Got stuff to figure out. The F1 website is excited about the movie. Obviously that's the lead photo right there. Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, everybody's excited about F1. Obviously limited highlights because are those?
Starting point is 02:22:39 Did F1 finance this whole movie you think? It's Apple. Apple probably knows F1. I mean but who's the money behind it? I would imagine the people it makes sense for F1 to push this. F1 has such a wide array of people with so much money invested in F1. Yeah. I think that's the most brilliant part of it all and I'm not you know changing the world with this take I think a lot of people say this
Starting point is 02:23:08 It's not just about the race. Well, of course not because the race is horrendous Usually everything else is a full spectacle of the bazillionaires of the world feels like that is what f1's kind of gimmick is Yeah, like hey, we have a fanatics fest everywhere Like it's not it's not a goofball fest the engineering I never said it was the racing is a part of it But it's also the engineering the car What's your game plan? How do you execute your strategy? Work with a team. How do you prepare for the track? That's why it's the fucking pinnacle and Liberty Media the people who bought F1 right before the documentary came out or I built for the Show came out. They just bought Moto GP. I believe so let me
Starting point is 02:23:44 Liberty media so I wouldn't be surprised if moto GP gets a little I want to try that one time because it looks Like the worst thing that can happen is you're just spin around on a leather suit Yeah, it's insane me down on the side we're dirt we're leaning that thing I've seen one of those races live and I'm like These dudes crazy. these dudes are fucking psychos. Little rockets. Yeah. Wide open. That shit's crazy. Yeah, I respect the ability to race. Here's the 2025 race results thus far for F1. Lando, Oscar, Oscar, Oscar, Oscar, Lando, Oscar. Oscar Lando Oscar okay Lando Oscar Oscar Lando Lando Oscar Lando Max Vanderstoppen Lando Oscar George Peterson George Ross oh
Starting point is 02:24:43 who's George what about Leclerc he's a ghost I think I know who George Peterson he's a ghost. I think I know who George Petersen is. He's a ghost. You know George Petersen. Oh, watcher in the night if you will. Is he dead? No, no, George is alive and well. Still burning it. Is he well? The Fisher's Freight had a game winner. Fisher's Freight located here in town Indianapolis, suburb of Indianapolis is Fishers. Fishers is one of the greatest cities, I think, that I've ever seen. Oh yeah. I mean, right now with Fishers, they have a Topgolf, they have every store you could imagine,
Starting point is 02:25:13 a plaza, malls, hotels, apartments. Great, I mean, Fishers, Indiana is a place that is awesome. Very lucky to live near Fishers, Indiana, I will say personally. Everybody talks about Carmel, Indiana, also awesome. Let's not get crazy, but Fishers has really been doing it. Fishers has built up huge, and the Fishers freight are playing right in Bruce's parking lot up there.
Starting point is 02:25:38 And I'll tell you what, they're electrifying. Bruce, did you go to this game? Have you gone to a game? I know you're a season ticket holder. I did not go to this game, but you gone to a game? I know you're a season ticket holder. I did not go to this game but this is what it's all about boys. There were three lead changes in the final 27 seconds of this game. What? Fischer's Freight's Vincent Espinosa. He was in a different arena league that actually folded and joined Fischer's Freight either this week or
Starting point is 02:26:00 last week. So he's a new face in our QB room with the Hail Mary there to Gourney Sloan I believe Gourney Sloan. This snaps a nine game losing streak. What? You need to get out through a game. Nine game? Two and nine! Two and over! I thought this team was good! Yep we added an injury to our backup quarterback Shoemaker and our starting quarterback left for the Mexican football league. Okay. Quick question.
Starting point is 02:26:29 So we've got some turnovers. Mexican football league needs to stop poaching our fucking players. That's a good, good poaching. How many games in a season? How many games in a season? We gotta be coming up on it now, right? We're three, we're three. I hope not. We need a long call here. I think we got one or two more chances to get out Without you. Yeah, these are your freighters
Starting point is 02:26:50 Look at this place. It's a lot of points for more games Yes, not enough games time now everybody Look at the pop paws. Look at the place. Look at the place They're going crazy. July 19th, they got two more home games. July 19th against San Diego Strikeforce. And then obviously they end the game, or the end of season, July 25th with the Barnstormers. Yeah, sure. Does everyone in the league make the playoffs? I hope so, because the Fisher's Freight are getting ready at the right time.
Starting point is 02:27:18 Don't let them get hot. I believe so. I believe everyone gets into the playoffs. That's Mickey Mouse. CK? If it's an event, CK gets it. I need so. I believe everyone gets into the game. That's Mickey Mouse. If it's an event, Seeky has to do it. Why don't you go sit down or on the glass? That was a sellout crowd. You can just show up.
Starting point is 02:27:35 You should do the coin toss. Bruce should do the coin toss at some point. Bruce hasn't been in the game for a while, it seems like. I mean, I went to one of the three wins. So that's nice. You're good luck Shit this is freighter never losing again. Here's one. It's most important what we've ever had They might lose another game but when it matters don't win the title What's the Super Bowl call bang? Super Bowl Super Bowl. What's's their super called a mega spoon?
Starting point is 02:28:08 Name all just win. It's a big spoon. It's not a ball yet. Mm-hmm cup could have went with to ah Because soup is a bowl or a cup NBA come. Yeah, I think it's the football football super duper cup Yeah, I fell championship. Yeah, I because it's the indoor football league of course, right? Yeah, I wouldn't beautiful Tucson, Arizona Yeah, great. The world was the indoor football league. Yeah, dude You know how hard that fishers freight parade would slap downtown fishers. Oh my god Right down 116 all the way down the highway that place is awesome. Yeah. You guys live up there? I know you say you are experiencing it. That place has grown over the last like five, ten years.
Starting point is 02:28:49 Yes. Fishers is awesome. They take the parade on the highway from Fishers all the way down to the monument for the speeches. If I know Fishers people the way I know them, that parade is good enough right there in Fishers. Bingo. Doesn't need to be going anywhere else. We ain't fucking going downtown. Certainly not getting on the fucking highway.
Starting point is 02:29:07 Yeah, that is a long way down there, pal. This is for the IFL Super Duper Cup. Hell yeah! I don't think anybody's paying attention enough to what is on the line here. It's coming home. This Fishers Freight team, if they were to win their inaugural season... Holy shit. The IFL Super Duper Cup?
Starting point is 02:29:21 Could you imagine what that would do for Fishers Indiana? Maybe two to three more brunch places. They'd be the fucking golden knights of the league. Good luck, Bruce. This one's for you and all the Fisher Freighters. Thank you. Come on, let's go freight, baby. Let's go freight.
Starting point is 02:29:37 Come on. Let's go freight. Let's go freight. Let's go freight. Is that what they say? Yeah. Probably. All for the freight train. Hey, hey. Let's go free. Is that what they say? Yeah, probably
Starting point is 02:29:51 The freight Fun is ball ball ball ball ball meant to be written in the stars. Come on Damn Oh Damn all right, there's always next year took bad out. Yep The fray will be okay, they won't Frank on BI Skin-worse, I had that one there it is money. Go Frank. Oh You kidding me? I Worry about the Fritz future next year. I'll be next
Starting point is 02:30:42 They're gonna have to have a big offseason. We need to go down at Mexican League and start getting our players back. Yeah Eight teams for what's the Mexican football league? Conference. We're taking our players. The MFL? You've never heard of the MFL? We're taking our goddamn quarterback. What's that, Tony? You know the population of the Mexican football league? Can you look at it? Bruce said it like he was a normal player. The top four teams from each conference make the playoffs. Uh there's seven teams in each conference. Fuck. There's 14 So we weren't even gonna make it so that's why the ball wouldn't go but some of them are like the off the Auckland Soccer team really how'd you see the Quad City Steamhouse? They're actually the best team in the league Quad City Steamhouse
Starting point is 02:31:19 Out of the bar storms one in ten Jesus what is going on? What's the Florida team? Our bar storms one in ten Jesus what is going on? What's the Florida team? Green Bay because they're they're good. That's it. Indy just beat was the buzzer in that game Yeah, but the Arizona Rattlers been around a long time. They've been really slithering their way at the bottom of this league Yeah, they're looking to have quite a come-up night Hawks. We fucking get it Yeah, we know what the night Hawks are about the Pirates doing they still in first I think they took it home last year too small of a state They said the sharks though. They're down there swimming with the minnows aren't they? They sure are
Starting point is 02:31:53 Sugar skulls the sharks top the sharks are in Jacksonville, Bruce is saying Jacksonville. Yeah, San Antonio who and then the sugar skulls could call their AJ who are the sugar skulls? To song yeah to play for the sugar skulls. You got to do a very specific kind of sugar. I think hi We're gonna get out of here. We don't know if that's true We just learned of the team today that we that could very much not be true bogeys Let's Play it like a bunch of man at the highlights. Let's. Playing like a bunch of man possessed out there. Let's get back.
Starting point is 02:32:28 San Antonio Gunslingers, not bad. That's a great name. Good name. San Antonio Gunslingers. San Diego Strike Force. Harden. I like the helmets. Yeah, the helmets are good.
Starting point is 02:32:38 The football's good. That's the easiest part. Better than the. The Tulsa Oilers, good call. Yeah. Take the Oilers from the NFL like that That was good negotiation by the IFL. Yeah big time He said we want the oilers because you guys aren't using it. They found you'll you'll take a percentage scroll up, please
Starting point is 02:32:55 Quad-city steam rollers not steam houses. Let's change that To the steam house go down a little bit the quad city steam wheelers To the steam house go down a little bit. The quad city steam wheelers Just doesn't hit the same as the steam house. Maybe that's the stadium massachusetts paris still out of marlboro Uh, yeah, they are down there marlboro. Actually, we got everybody's phone numbers out there. All right, let's get out of here Let's get out of here. That's their website not ours If we want to call we can buy some tickets. Yep, go support your local IFL team yeah yeah go Pirates more football is better football of course the Fisher's Freight electrifying finish is great news yeah that's what we're looking for this entire time they met you've only won three games in their
Starting point is 02:33:37 inaugural season next year it's all right first season league was definitely still exist she only tickets to Fisher's Freight sold all packed house. Is anybody else doing that? I will. Barstormers, if they're one in 10, you know, yikes. But yeah, I mean, people would go to those games for sure. Fisher's Freight folks, I think just going to have a day like it's Pittsburgh Pirates if they win good.
Starting point is 02:33:57 If not, we had a day out here cheering on the kids. Absolutely have a good time. Fuck it. Yeah. Maybe a little chase race concert out in the field. Yeah. Yeah, what happened at Fishers? Yep Did you hear that? Chase Rice is doing a brunch concert basically for Fishers. This Fisher City is the real deal there They like really I hear great things about Fishers. It actually is great place Fishers right need to pick it up. They do they're representing a great time. Mm-hmm all board
Starting point is 02:34:21 Fishers Fright need to pick it up. They do. They're representing a great time. All aboard. Hey, why'd that soccer team, there's a soccer team playing in Cincinnati, I don't know where they weren't from here, and the guys on the bench had to go watch the game from the locker room because it was a little too hot. 87 degrees they said. Yeah, 30 and a half degrees Celsius.
Starting point is 02:34:39 Let's not overheat here boys. We're not used to seeing the sun. What about the guys on the field? Well, they're doing it for the team, for the country. It's also false reporting from Joe Pump. It was only the first half. Oh, Joe Pump will lie. Oh, they still did it.
Starting point is 02:34:53 OK. Pump. Judicious back pump. So what he was wrong was just not saying first half of the match when he says Dortmund's bench watched today's first half of the match from the locker room because of the heat. That would have been spot on. Not the full match. Don't you think just because of the heat is the
Starting point is 02:35:08 problem that everybody's having not that it was just a half a game? Soft. I think everyone else reported it as the first half because that's what it said on the Dortmund X account but Joe Pop decided not to do that. We like the Dortmund team, we had a chance to meet the Dortmund team and the Dortmund people but this does feel like it's a little ridiculous it's tough to take serious But I will say I mean we were all outside on Saturday. It was so fucking hot if I was given the option to sit inside Yeah, what if I'm not playing right now? Yeah, I'll go fucking sit in the air conditioning Sure, do we have a TV in there? Just do you need me out here for anything? No, no Yeah
Starting point is 02:35:44 Joe for anything no no okay so I can just go sit inside yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah well he's played well it was a good match I think was a good idea it does look soft though very you know just because anytime you're doing something that is making your life easier and nobody else is doing it people are gonna automatically bury you for being soft I assume Dortmund just thinks they're smarter everybody did they win the game? Yeah, four three That's quite a quite a winner too, right? Weren't you there? Yeah, it was an unbelievable game the Sundowns from South Africa came out hot scored early and then Dortmund kind of took over the game I thought it was the Sundowners from Niagara Falls
Starting point is 02:36:17 It was not you I even said that on your Instagram and you said yes, that's who it was. I said real problem Yeah, yes on donors a lot of people grew up in that club up there in Niagara Falls. It was tough to get into as a teenager. Good manager. Tough to get into. They were really strict on the ideas when you're 15, 16 years old getting into that place.
Starting point is 02:36:36 But inevitably you crack the code, you get in there and you learn a lot about life up there in Niagara Falls. Couple of loonies and toonies, you can have a good blast. But this isn't the Sundowners, which I was confused about. This is the Sundans? Sundowns from South Africa. And all these teams are from their own leagues, these countries' leagues. Yep.
Starting point is 02:36:52 So Sundowns plays in the South African Soccer League, which we have certainly heard about before. I definitely haven't heard much of that league, but they put forth a good effort for sure. And then there was a Korean Soccer League team that was playing out here as well against the South African Soc soccer league as well? Yeah, the Red Diamonds were going wild. Their fans were pretty electric. How do these teams get in here? This Auckland team is treating it like a TST team. How do these teams get into the super duper hundred million dollar cup? I tell you what, it is interesting because Chelsea's in it and they won the Champions League like four years ago. So I don't know how they're in it. Well, and Lou Messi's in it. Yeah, like Inter Miami technically didn't qualify because they didn't win anything
Starting point is 02:37:28 to get into this tournament. But there's a guy who's driving Uber and then playing goalie for the Auckland team playing in the Super Duper Cup. Yeah, it's a classic FIFA operation, it feels like. So is this just a trial for the World Cup, you think? They're masking it as a super tournament, but really, it's just a hundred million dollars we're going to give away to try to see if we can host a World Cup here? I believe so and they want to run it back in America in 2029 as well. Give a
Starting point is 02:37:50 real tournament here? Yeah same deal. When we get this figured out by 2029 we'll run this thing back. Let's go. Because I saw like what 60,000 people one of the games and I saw 6D people at one of the games. Yeah there was no one at that Dortmund game I was at but but that Cincinnati stadium is beautiful. We kind of told you that was gonna be here, right? Yeah, I mean, you get to see Jude Bellingham's younger brother is the first game he started for Dortmund. Jeff Bellingham?
Starting point is 02:38:13 Joe Bellingham, he's one of the- Close. He's an unbelievable young player. Joe's- He took a shot, you were damn close. I was by him by the tongue the whole time. Scored a goal and got mad on the match. Joded.
Starting point is 02:38:26 Jobe. Jobe. Jobe. Oh, Jobe. Oh, Jobe. See you later, Jobe. Strong name. That is a good name.
Starting point is 02:38:32 Good luck, Jobe. All right, if this goes in, Jobe. Jobe's going to Super Duper Cup. OK. When's the Super Duper Cup end? When does this wrap up? Jobe isn't a name. July 14.
Starting point is 02:38:44 Yeah, it is difficult. It's difficult. Okay. Isn't it in the Bible? Yeah. Knockout round started this weekend. Knockout runes? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:38:51 Who's in it? Is Lou in it? Inter-Miami plays tonight. They'll probably need a point to get to the next round. We'll see what happens with the other teams playing. They better give it to them. They'll win. Why?
Starting point is 02:39:01 I mean, take it. You put that free kick on there. Because the only one people are trying to watch. What are you talking about? All right, if this goes in Lou Messi's team's gonna get a point tonight. Okay. Yeah, they're going. For Lou.
Starting point is 02:39:12 Money. This is for Lou. For Lou. Fuck. Well, seems like that Messi led into Miami team's kind of bumming everybody out this year. Gotta be blue Messi. Did you get a chance to see Panthers parade?
Starting point is 02:39:28 I saw the boys having a good time down there. It was hot down there too. I'm glad we weren't soft. We still showed up. Did you go? Yeah, I stopped through on my way to the airport. Oh really? You saluted the boys?
Starting point is 02:39:37 I had a flight to catch so I saluted. You told me you did? Cesar. Here's the view of the parade from the US.S. Coast Guard flying overhead down there in South Beach. Obviously everybody's going to question the fanhood until they see that. That's awesome. Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Starting point is 02:39:52 Looks like it's spring break down there with just Panthers fans. Lordo bouncing around group to group and the U.S. Coast Guard flying overhead saying, have yourself a day lads. Have yourself a day down there. Shout out to the Florida Panthers fans showing up. Yeah, the boys have been on quite the run on social media. Obviously down there, you know, 11, Fort Lauderdale, Elbow Room. Happy for the boys, man.
Starting point is 02:40:14 Hope we can keep the squad together as much as possible. That looks amazing. Yeah. That looks like a great time. True. Wow. There's a chance we were asked if we wanted to go to that after seeing the drone cameras here. Feels like we missed out on quite having one of them.
Starting point is 02:40:31 Yeah. Sorry, what'd be the last one? Congrats to the Florida Panthers. Oh, there's the, that's where, but see you watching from this W balcony. Yep. Wow. Spot.
Starting point is 02:40:43 Good for Florida, congratulations. Hockey Beach. All right, let's get the hell out of here. We appreciate you Good for Florida. Congratulations. Hockey Beach. All right. Fucking Matt Wolf is on that team. Kevka's brother. Peter. Yeah, Peter is on that team. I'm having a tough time remembering because you know, listen, we've had a couple guys fighting with relegation. Yeah, coming gone.
Starting point is 02:41:36 Yeah, exactly. So I'm hearing Bubba's talking with Scottie Shuffler right now. What? Really? He's recruiting? Yeah. You're here? Oh, Peter Uline, OK. Ben Campbell. You're talking about Ben Campbell? Ben Campbell's an absolute, that's the whole team?
Starting point is 02:41:52 Yeah. Yeah, that's what I thought. Oh, so we had three quarters of the team. Yeah, exactly. I mean, I told you. I didn't know that. Can a team get relegated? Yes, I do believe there's a chance.
Starting point is 02:42:00 And we're up against it. So. Needy R does start making contact. Exactly. I don't think the teams can be relegated. Just the golfers. We're up against it. So Yeah, so that's kind of what helps some of the Cattles in the bigger names not be relegated. So like, you know Brooks has his own team Bryson Rom Bubba Phil, you know, they all have their own team. So even when they're
Starting point is 02:42:24 Sergio Garcia Sergei How's that fireballs Camp Smith has his own who's the guy from that has this polter see any importer? Oh They I thought he had a team. He should alter I'd watch Paul Thursday. He might be on the yard gets to though We don't know. Yeah, he's a huge name. He probably I think he has team He was early to come a fucking teams are co-naming. I thought there were like 12 teams Can we look up the standings of the teams currently in in live?
