Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to our Humble the Boat, the Thunder Doe, on this Nod and Nutter Wednesday.
August 27, 2025, this program begins now.
Football!
It's happening all around us, and don't look now tomorrow, massive college football slate.
Don't look now Saturday, first college game day of the year, as Texas travels to Ohio State,
and there's two other top ten matchups to kick off this glorious college football season.
And then one week from tomorrow, guess what?
Magic.
Oh, you're right.
It's happening.
Yep, it's happening.
There's a banner that's going to be going up.
In the city of Brotherly Love, there's going to be a football team traveling from Dallas with its biggest star on the defensive side of the ball.
I don't think so.
Or without its biggest star on the defensive side of the ball.
We are here.
We have made it.
We are at a time where we obviously look forward to,
and when we're in it, we never appreciated it enough.
But this football season, we're going to look around.
We're going to smell the roses.
And we're going to say, hey, thank you to football for having its greatest season it has ever had.
With the development of the college football playoff last season,
with how big it was, teams at loss still made it.
Teams are going to have hope until the end of the year all around the country.
And in the NFL, I've been told, scouts on her?
Okay.
I don't know which one.
Three of them.
Cub.
and Boy Scout O. Don't do this one.
Nazi German three. What's that?
Just do the three. This one.
Yeah. Don't do the two.
Okay.
Bill Stewart, rest in peace, coach from West Virginia.
He's also going into the West Virginia Hall of Fame.
That was one of his moves whenever he wanted to really sell something, he would say, Cub, two fingers, and scout honor, and go ahead and sound.
I've been told by the football gods, they spoke to me.
I was on a plane for a long time.
Yeah.
Long time over the Pacific.
Way upper.
A lot of islands that I did not know.
existed. They're out there. I hope they had a great
time. A lot of good internet out there.
Not actually. But I talk to the
football gods. You know, when you're in a tube
flying for that long and there's no internet and you're really
kind of isolated. And you're trying to battle
through sleep deprivation and trying to figure out how the
schedule is. Maybe you do hear from the gods
a little bit more up there. Maybe it is a little bit more peace.
Well, the football gods reach out to me. They said,
about to be the greatest season we've ever had.
Here we go. Here we go. Huge. That's a big
deal, isn't it? That's huge. Because remember last
year, beginning of the NFL season, shite.
It was. Shite.
We're talking about bad games, boring games.
Football is bad, people are talking about.
College football always electrifying.
College football is always going to be electrifying because the atmospheres are going to carry it,
even if the game isn't that great.
But the games have been great.
The atmospheres are amazing.
That's why college football is going to do its thing.
And then the NFL this year, I've been told football God directly, they're all coming out guns to place.
That's huge.
Every team's going to be in mid-season form.
And the style of football is going to be one that we love.
It's going to be a physical style football.
There's going to be people beating each other up.
There's going to be big-time hits.
And then we got showcase matchups on the outside between DBs,
and wide receivers all year long, and these
quarterbacks are getting even better. These quarterbacks
are throwing the ball further. These quarterbacks are
throwing ball more accurate, and these offensive gurus
that are calling plays are getting smarter.
And the one in Minnesota, just got a weapon back
into its lineup. Adam Thielen traded from Carolina Panthers back home
to Minnesota Vikings. Congratulations. Congratulations to
welcome home. And congrats to
the Minnesota Vikings. Now, the Carolina
Panthers obviously showed a lot of promise at the end of last year.
Bryce Young might not be a bust, right?
Everybody was calling him one. Might not be at all.
He might be a guy. They're calling him.
was Steph Curry of football when he was coming out of college.
Down Carolina, nothing was really working.
Even the ownership wasn't really going well.
End of last year, they found it.
Adam Thielen, we thought, was going to be a part of the growth and development of the
Carolina Panthers.
Instead, he's going back to Minnesota to join the Vikings.
Congrats to all parties.
Feels like Carolina's happy with a fifth round pick and a fourth round pick.
Thelan's going back home.
There was a video of his family celebrating going back home.
Obviously, he's from Minnesota, went to high school in Minnesota.
He actually had to go to a regional tryout to even make it to a tryout.
He had to go to a trial to make it to a trial
to get into the NFL. He had to pay his own
way into said camp tryout
to get a look, ends up on
the Vikings, becomes a pro bowler, becomes
an all pro, gets a massive deal
with Carolina Panthers, has to leave home.
Now, towards end of career, we don't know how
many years he has left. He probably doesn't either.
Heading back to Minnesota
in an offense that is really
good. They're restructuring his contract,
so obviously he's probably taking a pay cut.
Now he joins Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison,
J.J. McCarthy, and Aaron Jones.
let alone their tight ends, who are absolute dogs.
They got old buddy that they traded from Detroit.
Hawkinson.
Hawkinson, who's a beast.
And also, who am I missing there?
I apologize to the other guy.
That is 100% on me.
But this Minnesota Vikings team might be the year for Minnesota to get back into the big dance.
Last year, remember they were playing the final week of the season against the Detroit Lions
for the number one seed in the NFC.
And this year they're looking to do the same.
is J.J. McCarthy a guy or not? We shall see. Everybody that knows him says yes. He is a guy.
Footage coming out of camp? He is a guy. They talk about his leadership qualities for whenever he was at Michigan.
He is a guy. High school, I.M.G. He is a guy. So all signs are saying J.J. McCarthy should be a perfect quarterback for this Minnesota Vikings team.
And if he is, B. Flood in the defense, great. Offense just got another weapon.
Kevin O'Connell's still a super genius. Look out for the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North and the NFC.
and maybe the whole fucking Super Bowl.
Whoa. Those are big words, but that's how every team can feel at this moment because no games have been played.
Just go to the talks of table at Boss of Connor at Ty Schmidt.
Storylines developing especially day here.
Everybody's got to make their rosters by 4 o'clock.
A lot of movement probably taking place today, Cottonwood.
Yeah, a ton of movement, waiver wires.
Everyone's kind of keeping their eyes peeled, looking at that stuff.
Also, I've seen some players, Sam Ellenger, actually, former Colt.
He turned down opportunities to stay with Denver, so it'll be interesting to see what players think.
You know, they are suited better on a practice squad versus an actual 53.
But it is the greatest.
This is the best time.
You know, we were even just talking about tomorrow.
And, of course, I can't wait for the NFL eight days.
It's going to be incredible.
But even the games tomorrow, like the college football slate on a Thursday when, you know, you're not in the...
Nebraska, Sinci tomorrow.
Boom.
Eat that up all day.
Boise State.
Are you kidding me?
USF.
That's a good team from yesterday's past.
Now, their coach from them certainly had a different.
photo this weekend but these games real games yeah huge games like last year uh i feel like we
were surprised by him almost at least i was i remember colorado played on that first thursday night
wish adore and uh Travis hunter and i forget who else played but it almost sneaks up on you
and then you realize like oh this is the beginning of it this is the beginning of the hey every
thursday night there's going to be a game weekday games it's awesome tis smit you scared to death
in minnesota vikings uh adam tielin going back to minnesota adam tielin will be
joining us in a third hour. We've been told he's currently on a plane.
Sure. So we believe whenever he lands, we will get a phone call from Adam Thieland
to get his thoughts. My eyes, great news for the Minnesota Vikings. He's going to be a three
or a four. Adam Thielan. So like that is a good spot to be. He was the one for Carolina there
whenever they weren't playing great and everybody was attacking him. This old guy can't do
anything. He was the number one receiver. He was the guy that all defenses were keening on. He had
four eyes on him whenever he's with the Carolina Panthers team.
he's going and he just slips into a rotation and he has that big ass football brain i mean he
should be a wizard in a kevin o'conno offense special is it back with the minnesota exactly
back with the minnesota vikings is green bay going to be okay because the detroit lions is the
detroit liens yep Caleb i saw him hey that preys off that first week people were talking bad
as i was in australia saw some highlights caleb yeah against chiefs too
Caleb.
Yeah, Caleb.
Yeah, absolutely.
And then the Green Bay Packers, I understand.
We still got the stars.
We are the Green Bay Packers.
Jordan Love, Guy, already paid.
Are the Packers a little bit worried about the NFC North
with how competitive it has been?
No, I don't think so.
What?
You know, the Packers didn't go 6 and 11 last year.
They made the playoffs.
So let's not act like, you know, they were picking in the top 10.
They weren't.
And listen, I love this for Thielen.
He's a friend of the show.
We've gotten known him pretty well over the last couple years.
I love that he gets to go back home.
With the Vikings, for me, it's still, you know, like, I hear what I'm hearing about J.J. McCarthy, and I understand that, but talk to me about the Vikings in week five. You know, that's kind of where I'm at. And you talk about, you know, all these waiver wire additions, Thelan's getting traded. I don't want to jump the gun here, but the Packers may be making a splash of their own. And it might happen today.
There's a run. I don't know when it's going to happen. I don't know if it's going to happen. But in my mind, it's happening and it's happening within the next hour. With what you're talking about, we will feel the beat today.
We will go to Dallas and we will go to Green Bay.
We'll talk to Jane Slater and Schneidman from the athletic up there in Green Bay.
Yeah, everybody's saying that the Green Bay Packers are going to trade for Micah Parsons.
They are saying that.
And they're going to pay them.
45 million a year.
$45 million.
That would be an absurd move to just think about and hypothesize about a few years ago.
But now Green Bay Packers take Matthew Golden in the first round, wide receiver.
Place erupts.
Yeah.
All reports out of camp.
he's the guy? Yeah. If they were to trade for Michael Parsons to Green Bay, Wisconsin from
Dallas, Texas to that team, immediate game record for you guys? Yes. Small town, he'd
probably, he'd be beloved. Now, Happy Valley went to Penn State, small town feel as well.
So I'm not saying that he needs to be in a big city or anything like that. But that would be a
wild life event for Michael Parsons to go from Dallas in the Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers.
two very story tradition teams obviously a lot of history a lot of greatness but that would be an insane move to think about i'm sure packers fans even like saying yeah
packers are going to trade for a guy that's going to be the highest paid guy in the history of defensive football and give some things up that are very important to the future that's not really a packers thing is it why does it feel like most green bay packers fans think this is going to happen we got people tracking fake planes oh yeah we got private planes being tracked people don't know whose planes these are
But holy shit, there's a plane to Dallas Green Bay?
How many people flying Dallas Green Bay?
No one.
Green Bay's wine.
To Dallas?
It's August 27th.
I guess this could be Big Mike, you know, going back and forth, you know, from his Dallas house to the bar.
Getting tracked everywhere.
This is what's happening on the Internet.
Like the thoughts of this happening feels real to people.
Yeah, I mean, would this be out of character and just absolutely crazy without a doubt?
They've had a couple splash trades they've made in the past.
But Mark Murphy's not there anymore.
We've got a new team president, Ed Policy.
So maybe he wants to make a little bit of a splash.
Oh, there's a new policy arrive here.
Exactly.
And we're looking for stars, not just ones on the side of the helmet.
But, you know, I mean, he's legitimate.
He's going to be a Hallfamer, probably.
If his career continues on the arc that it's been, he's going to be a first ballot
hallfamer.
I mean, it just screams Reggie White.
You know, the Packers trade for him.
They couldn't really get, they couldn't actually sack the quarter.
back. If you look at all like the advanced statistics, it's like, hey, you know, they're getting
home a lot. They create a lot of pressures and things of that nature. But they don't really
sack. They need a guy who can finish. And Micah can finish. So if it takes $45 million over
the next five years and it takes three first round picks and a second round pick and a fourth
round pick. At this point, that takes me from, hey, I think the Packers will make it to the
playoffs. And if they're playing their best, maybe they can. Five years, 225 million.
Yep.
Already got two first rounders.
Yep. Maybe even three.
Maybe even three. Do whatever you got to do with a swatig.
Pick 32, who wants it?
Well, that's my other thing is that it, unless, if Jordan Love stays healthy, the Packers
aren't going to be picking in, like, the top 10.
So, like, those, you shouldn't hold on to those picks thinking, like, hey, we're
going to be able to get a Micah Parsons at the top of the first round next year.
You're not.
You just probably, that's not going to happen.
So if there's any chance that this can get done, like.
Is there?
See, normally I would say, like, this is bullshit and why am I getting this excited for something
like this, but it's been like this for two weeks now. And like, it just kind of continues to
pick up steam. And then, you know, like, rap sheet, when he's in here, he says, like, that
would be a destination. Yes, if Dallas were to trade him. Like, the Packers would be massive players
in that. And then we hear, hey, they actually did up, they, they submitted an offer to the
Cowboys. Now, Jerry wasn't ready to listen to it. But it's just, it hasn't stopped.
Wasn't ready to listen to it. I like that. That's the way it was worth.
Yeah. Not that he didn't, like, Jerry didn't listen to it. He's like, well, he wasn't ready yet
to listen to it.
Now we're a little bit further down the road.
Now, Jerry has said that any talks to trade or BS, I believe, on the Stephen A. Smith show whenever he talked to him.
So you've got to take that with a grain of salt in the entire conversation.
And then Shoddy, I believe, came out and said he had conversations with him and they want good.
It's like, okay, what do all these things mean?
We'll talk directly to some people with boots on a ground and see if we can get a little bit more realistic perspective on Micah Parsons,
getting traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers and getting paid $45 million a year.
in doing so, that would be insane.
Let's get nutty.
Let's get wild.
That Matthew Golden Pop
at the draft.
Yeah, multiply that by 100
if they trade for Michael Parsons.
An entire city might just go to.
Implode on itself.
We might not even be able to play football next year.
Let's go to one half of the hammer.
Cowboys AP tone tone.
Obviously, we're all hammering Dr. Pepper.
Any day of the week.
That's a Dr. Pepper, baby.
I mean, that is, listen to that a few times, by the way,
when I was gone.
should. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Like, just turned it on while I was show. Yeah. Great song.
Created a song, a couple of them, a lot of them. It's a whole new thing. It is wild to be
alive right now. Just know that we got a potential Dr. Pepper Bangor sitting back pocket right
now. Got to run through the channels. Yeah, obviously. That's business, baby. The bones, though.
It's more than bones. There's some meat on those. It's a metal bones. We are the dumbest
company in the history, which once
a shout out to you, boys, being able to just continue
without a, a hitch.
Is that right?
Yeah, continue without a hitch.
There are a bunch of hitches, but, yeah.
No, no, but that would be what people would say.
Yeah, yeah, that's what they would say.
From my perspective, outside looking in, and also
fans' perspective, you guys went off without a hitch.
Thank you for doing that.
But I was listening to that song a few different times,
and I just thought to myself, we have the dumbest company
of all time.
And to the people that came in here and guest
hosted, we can't thank you enough.
I'm so appreciative of the dudes who spent time out of their life to come here and help and help make this show operate.
You guys are the coolest people.
Like showing up for me and for us whenever we needed it.
Very cool thing.
We'll have Dan Rolovsky on in the second hour today.
1.40 p.m. Eastern, he'll be joining us.
He'll be live at his house, I think.
Not here?
I thought he was.
He was going to come out to potentially go because I wasn't going to have a voice.
What you can hear from my voice is I was a drill instructor.
shout out to the baddest motherfuckers on earth drill instructors for the Marines.
Down there in Paris Island, I got to watch them.
They're also out in San Diego, which is, you know, if you join the Marines at a high school or whenever,
your boot camp, if you're east of the Mississippi is Paris Island, west of the Mississippi is down there in San Diego.
And you're talking about two legendary places.
And I got a chance to go down to Paris Island, if you do recall right after TST, during TST,
and just kind of watch these drill instructors operate.
You're talking about just badass.
These dudes are sleeping three hours a day, 13 weeks.
regiments they're on with these platoons and it is their job to turn them into
Marines they are the culture of the Marines you're talking about zero 400 lights
lights lights that's 4 a.m. all the way till a 9 p.m. lights or 8 p.m. lights at
night then they have to write up a recap of each day you're not sleeping at
all and you're also yeah on them okay this is a you are becoming a warrior
here type of mission because the Marines are the first to fight so if
anything's happening Marines are in there there's 10x the amount of people in
the Army than there is in the Marines. And after getting a chance to watch how they are built down there, Paris Island, I am thankful that they are still around. You know, we start to wonder, like, do we still got it? You know, because you watch what's happening in other places. And you think yourself, that could, there's a time in history where we were, that was us, we were in that. Like, that is always a looming possibility in the world that we live in. None of us want it to be. Okay, we all want to live in a world where that is not in actuality. We all want to live in a time. And hopefully,
my lifespan it'll happen certainly in my daughters where everybody gets along like we would definitely
want that but that's just not the reality of situation and you don't have to be you know i understand
that there's a lot of people who are super anti-war nobody's pro war i am not a pro war person but being
pro warrior is okay because a lot of people that we know were the people that were signing up for these
types of missions a lot of people signed up for the military you know come from blue collar families
a lot of people signing up for that don't really have a lot of opportunity a lot of people from the middle of
America. A lot of people, you know, it's just like, we have a lot of respect for the military.
I've done a lot of work with the military. I respect and appreciate the shit out of the
warriors that go out there. And after learning about these drill instructors, it's like an insane
just psychologist you have to be. Plus, you have to be able to have more energy than every other
human. And you're setting the tone for basically the United States military. It is a insane opportunity
that I got offered. I'm so incredibly thankful for. But boy, there's a lot of, uh, you know,
There's a lot of...
Screaming?
There's a lot of...
I thought of using that voice.
So I knew, especially with football starting
when I was getting back,
it was like, hey, there's going to be a couple days there
where my voice probably going to be completely shot.
I face time with you guys a couple different times
throughout there in between days of shooting.
It's like I had absolutely no voice.
Couldn't even talk.
Went to a restaurant there that people thought I was drunk.
People thought I was drunk
because my voice was so shot.
And I might have found a vitamin or two
and they don't even know what that looks like down there.
Oh, sure.
So they thought,
was drunk like hey you're way too drunk listen to way you sound in your eyes and i'm like
i'm a drone structure in a movie i just lost my voice and i had some vitamins that are you don't
even know what that means here because you guys don't even like the thing but i promise i've not
even had one drink i might go have one in here you guys have a whiskey that could maybe sue this
entire thing so ralovsky was going to go sure and that was very very cool of a ralofsky doing that
of course missus flake this oh dan thank god but i am thankful because i get
chance to be back in here with you boys and on the show. I've missed this so much, chit-chatting
about sports, and I've learned a lot from watching the other host of this show. I think
there was a lot of great that happened while I was gone, and I think this football season is
going to be electrifying. Now, AP Tone, whenever we think about gambling here in this first weekend
of college football, is it North Carolina TCU under? Is that the biggest bet that we are laying
here, week one? 56, I believe, and a half is the over under for a Bill Belichick coached
UNC team in their debut against TCU on Monday night in Chapel Hill.
We have no idea how the UNC team is going to do this year.
We have no idea how anybody's going to do this year.
I assume, though, these Bill Belichick's games are going to be low-scoring games,
if I had to guess.
Do you feel the same way or what should we be looking at when we're looking at these spreads?
Yeah, you would think just knowing Bill Belichick and all that roster turnover
and not knowing what he's going to have in offense that he's going to try to drag
at least these early games into the mud.
He's probably never, ever, ever even seen a total reach 50s probably for one of his games in the NFL.
So this is something that he is probably unaware of that he has no idea about.
But yeah, he's going to drag these things into the mud.
But like as far as like the Texas Ohio State game, I think that could potentially another low scoring early game just because it's two relatively new quarterbacks working in.
Now not new quarterbacks to the universities.
They've been there for multiple years.
But as starting quarterbacks, maybe their offensive coordinators, you know, take it slow.
but I always like to look these first couple weeks
week one, week two of teams that are
returning a lot of guys, a lot of continuity
from last year versus, because I mean the transfer portal
is the thing. It wasn't as active as it was
the last couple years, but it's still a thing
where there's a lot of teams that are losing a lot of players
versus teams that are bringing guys back.
West Virginia got 70 new players.
Yeah. Boom. That's a lot.
They're not the only team. North Carolina has 75 teams
that are 75 players as well.
If they gel quickly, great.
Yeah. But you have no idea if that's the case
until the pads actually start flying.
Good luck to all the teams. We can't wait to watch them.
A couple breaking news things here out of the NFL.
Kyle Hamilton has signed an $82 million guaranteed deal with the Baltimore Ravens, $100.4 million in total.
Congratulations to him.
He's a beast.
And just yesterday, I believe, Coach Chuck Pagano was given a press conference about Kyle Hamilton and his greatness.
And he mentioned about how, you know, it's very reminiscent of a guy that used to play here named Ed Reed.
and everybody knows who Ed Reed is
because Ed Reed is one of the greatest football players
to ever exist.
He's one of the most electrifying humans to ever exist
and he has some of the biggest plays
in the history of football.
But everybody talks about him
just being an absolute nightmare on the field
because he seemingly knew everything
that was going to happen
and when he got there he was going to thump.
Oh yeah, he also blocked like 50 kicks.
He also has a couple kick returns in it.
He just seemed to be smarter than everybody.
And Chuck Pugano just pointed out
like everybody thinks that that's a natural thing.
It's like, no, the amount of work you've got to put in preparation,
the amount of film you've got to do
to get to that point is what separates these people.
And he said, Kyle Hamilton, same guy.
The amount of preparation that he puts in, everything like that is very reminiscent to
Hall of Famers that have come before him.
And then we watch him on the field.
He's the one.
He is Neo.
He is everywhere out there.
That AFC North has a history of great safety.
Obviously, Ed.
Troy Paul Molley was there.
Kyle Hamilton seems like the most recent one of a Hall of Fame safety,
especially for this Baltimore Ravens defense that hunts.
They get after it.
And they're going to have to if they want to win a Super Bowl.
which is what everybody in Baltimore is hoping for and thinking can happen.
Yeah, especially with the additions they made.
You know, like you forget that they have DeAndre Hopkins now on the offense,
let alone how good their defense is.
And, you know, Baltimore falls into the same conversation I feel like Buffalo does.
Every year they're going to have an unbelievable team.
They're going to have a stud at quarterback.
And now that they have, you know, a D-Hop, a legitimate guy on the outside,
Zay Flowers, Derek Henry, like we're talking about what, one of those three,
four teams, I guess you could probably
maybe say five that are really
in it to win the Super Bowl. I think they're the
shortest odds to win the whole thing.
So that says a lot about their team too.
It's just Baltimore's got to be close.
Those fans got to be thinking, just like Buffalo.
Hey, it's got to be this year.
Butta is losing his mind.
Yeah, his mind. Yeah, butta's got to be going
absolutely crazy right now.
How much money we've been?
He deserves more.
Yeah. Everybody on their team seemingly
deserves more. They have stars all over the place.
everywhere for that Baltimore Ravens team. I can't wait to watch him all season and I cannot
wait to watch this Baltimore Ravens team. Congrats to Kyle Hamilton. You deserved it.
Now, ladies and gentlemen, the world deserves to know what the hell is going on in certain places.
It's time to feel the beat.
live from Dallas. Obviously
you've seen her on NFL network.
She's a legend. She also fills in
and hosts for the Emmy Award winning.
Good morning football. She's a Texas
alumni, golf aficionado. Ladies and gentlemen,
Jane Slater.
Jane, we're feeling the beat.
Hope you're feeling the same over there. Good to see you.
Thank you for joining us.
Oh, no.
She's muted.
You're muted, Jane.
Is that on our end?
Is that on our end? Is that?
Oh, God. This is why I don't get the call.
It was our fault. It was our fault. We assume we messed that up. We appreciate you for joining us.
We're feeling to be currently. How are you feeling great to see you? Thank you for joining us.
I'm doing good. I'd be a lot better if this Micah thing would get some sort of resolution was losing a little bit of sleep last night because while I still feel confident this thing's going to get done, we've got to pay some attention to some of these content aggregators out there, these content creators, because you just never know where scoop they're coming from. When I worked here locally, covered the Rangers, and Daniel Murphy's daughter told a preschool teacher that he was going to be an
Indian and he went off to Cleveland, so you have to run them all down. But I don't know if it's
apathy at this point or people are just fatigued with the story. And I've certainly
been texting a lot of my sources like a crazy X the last couple of weeks. But all I'll say
is they are moving a little differently right now. Everyone is. And my only, and I know you guys
love conspiracy theories, so do I. Whoa, whoa. My conspiracy theory on this is maybe this is a rumor
that the Cowboys are leading into a little bit to make Micah Parsons uncomfortable enough
to come to Jerry, kiss the ring, and try and get this thing done.
Yeah, it turned to work into a shoot, brother.
There is a chance that maybe it wasn't something real, and then with how loud it got,
now they're starting to actually explore it.
Both Micah never wanted to leave Dallas, then it starts getting loud,
and people are like, Micah deserves get paid.
And then Micah's reading and hearing the people in Green Bay are like,
give him $45 million a year.
Trade three first rounders for this guy.
We would love to have him in Green Bay.
And in Dallas, it doesn't seem like it's going like that.
He's obviously laying on the training table only for a few moments.
That gets spun into a massive story.
Jerry Jones saying, you know, there's been times I paid a guy and he fucking died.
Like, it is just, it seemingly got to a point where it is not good, you know?
Is that how it feels there?
Am I just looking from afar?
I was literally the furthest you could be away from this story the last 10 days in Australia following along.
but it feels like it's not good and it hasn't gotten better.
Is there a realistic chance, even though Jerry said,
don't listen to any trade BS?
Is there a realistic chance that the Green Bay Packers trade for Micah Parsons?
In your heart of hearts, Jay, do you think there's any chance that's real?
Listen, I think there's certainly an interest from teams out there
that could use someone that's lined up all over the field except for, I think, cornerback.
He's been at safety, he's been at lineback, or he's been at defensive end,
which is why there's the whole, you know, dispute going over what the field.
fifth year tag should be, whether that should be lineback or a defensive end, it's all gotten
Yeah, exactly. Even more he wants to get out of there.
Even more, he's like, let me, again, then he's hearing people from Green Bay.
And now, who knows what Ed policy is saying, I assume it's something similar.
Green Bay Packers fan this morning, Ty Schmidt, I think is speaking for the entire cheesehead
world.
I think so.
Give them $50 million a year.
We do not.
That is, so Micah has to be seeing that there's other places that I've done nothing for.
I have not shown up every single day for.
I have not wrecked games for.
I've never been in these people's community.
I've done nothing.
And they're wanting to give me the world.
And then here I am.
They're trying to put me at Mike Linebacker as opposed to defensive end
whenever it comes to paydays.
It's like you could see how Micah maybe at the beginning of this
wasn't on board with anywhere but Dallas.
And this was potentially a leverage play.
And then as it continues to grow, there's a chance.
Well, we should maybe start sniffing around.
Jerry wouldn't turn over though, right?
He would stay?
Here's what I think on this.
If they were going to trade him, they should have done it before the draft.
And I will tell you, two years ago, they sort of kicked it around in the building.
And people would say, well, why would they kick it around the building?
Micah is not that player that gets in trouble off the field.
He's more of, I guess it's described as a nuisance, which I think, you know, to fan bases like the Packers,
they would take a nuisance all day, right?
But it's more nuanced than that in Dallas.
I do think that, you know, the laying on the training table, even though it was for a little bit,
it's just those little things.
It's the body language during the games.
And if you're not careful, this can really create a situation in the locker room.
Now, with that being said, we've seen this with Ezekiel Elliott.
We saw it with C.D. Lamb, happy one year anniversary to C.D. Lam signing and returning to the Cowboys after a holdout.
Zeke wanted his contract done two years ahead of time.
They signed him four days before the Giants game.
Dak Prescott got done on September 10th.
I think the game was on the 12th when he got his extension.
I think the only difference here, at least on this one, is Jerry feels so adamant that they negotiated over a course of two days, looked each other in the eye, man to man, and made a decision on APY and what the guaranteed money is.
But the problem with that is, I represented myself in my contract this last year.
You typically talk about it in generalities.
they then send you an offer sheet that you basically sign off.
It's not an official contract yet.
Then it goes to the legal department.
You redline it.
Then it's official.
And so for Jerry to hold Micah to a precedent that you haven't done in Dallas before
just seems so odd to me.
And we haven't seen it.
And he admitted it to me when I asked Jerry,
has there been an offer sheet extended and there has it?
But I have to wonder, with now it being a distraction a bit,
Our people in the building say, Jerry, it would be negligent of us to not at least consider the generational hall that could be Micah Parsons.
And whether that's a reality right now or not, or if they're using it as a stalling technique to make Micah a little uncomfortable, they are moving a little bit differently around there.
And as much as Micah has said, he wants to be traded, he's got to think, and I know Jerry uses this in negotiations and it's annoying, but it's true, what comes with the start.
on your helmet versus playing for the Green Bay Packers,
no disrespect for the people up at Appleton.
Yeah, Green Bay Packers sell out every stadium they go to,
but you're right.
Dallas business, I assume much kinder to the Dallas Cowboys players
with deals and contracts around town
than maybe in Green Bay or anywhere else, I would assume,
because Jerry is a phenomenal businessman.
And we've heard him say, you know,
when there's nothing being talked about,
I'll fucking stir it up a little bit.
And everybody's like, Jerry, that's what we're talking about.
We don't need to stay up.
we're trying to win a football game you know and it's like how has everybody kind of viewed it which leads to
what tone wants to ask you jane yeah i do i wanted to ask you jane how does the locker room feel about
the whole situation has any of the players talked about it has there been any rumblings um whether
they have chosen sides what's the situation within the building well i think a number of these
players have gone through these contract disputes on their own they understand sort of the
stomach metal that's required to stand toe to toe with the jones is i mean the fact that
Micah walked in and handed it to Stephen Jones, this official trade request, and then showed up
every day at Prakness, says he has back tightness, MRI clears him.
There's a, I think even secretly maybe Jerry Jones respects it a little bit, some of the
medal there.
But I would say that players at least publicly are going to tell you.
He lied about his back.
It was great.
It was awesome.
I didn't say it.
I didn't say it.
But they'll say at least publicly that they say.
support the guy getting the business done, but I got to think at some point they're tired of
talking about it and they just want to focus on the game and moving forward. I mean,
certainly on defense. Run defense was an issue last year. You've got a new defense with
Matt Eber Fluse. They've got a lot of other things they need to focus on. And Trayvon Diggs is
one of his best friends. Trayvon is tracking to come back, at least in the first, I would say
maybe week three or week four. I've got to think that he wants Micah there. Micah is a big
ally for Trayvon Diggs in that locker room. All right. I think all of Dallas is hoping that Michael will be
there, but boy, all the Green Bay is hoping the same thing, it sounds like.
And they're not the only one.
I think if other teams are hearing that this is potentially a possibility.
Last question here, George Pickens obviously traded over to the Dallas Cowboys.
How's that going?
I love it.
And, you know, look, I think sometimes people just need different environments to thrive.
I don't know about you guys.
There have been places I've been it just hasn't worked.
Since he's come in, seeing the way that he and C.D. Lamb is sort of fed off of each other.
and I think the way that he's been embraced just in the Dallas community.
I mean, everyone was so hungry at camp last year when you didn't have CD Lamb,
you didn't have Des Bryant to have two huge playmakers.
I just think I'm still not sure about the running game yet in Dallas,
and Brian Schottenheimer, I know wants to establish your run,
have a more balanced offense.
I think it's going to be hard to stay away from targeting George Pickens and C.D. Lamb,
because from what we've seen at camp, and they'll tell you in the preseason,
they're not showing you anything.
We didn't see them in the preseason.
I think it's going to be really, really hard not to go to those guys.
I'm excited for George Pickens, and my interactions with him have not been the same as what's been described in Pittsburgh.
I've had friends tell me, you know, don't be fooled, but we'll see.
I mean...
Oh, we just said it.
I find him great to work with.
New vibes, new everything.
He's a great talent, and I hope it ends up working out down there.
It would be great for the entire NFL.
We appreciate the hell out of you.
Good luck this season.
You're going to crush it.
Thank you, guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, James.
All right.
let's go to the other side of this story.
Ladies and gentlemen, let's feel the V.
I got winded, day, bang, bang, bang, bay, bay, bayed in a long time.
First one of a long time.
We've got to go boots on the ground.
That's why we've got to feel the B.
The bead is on the fields
In which the games and the practices
Are being played
Let's go to those fields
Ladies and gentlemen representing the Green Bay Packers
He works for The Athletic
Thank you for coming on
Yeah
Right? Yeah, absolutely
I think it's good
He needs to keep an eye out
Uh-oh, right? Yeah, uh-oh
Come in and a plate your head off
That move
He's also a Packers insider and he's on 973
The Game
Ladies and gentlemen, Masternoy,
I'm nice.
What are you guys doing?
I like the football
coming out of your head.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
I didn't see that.
It looks like, you know,
whenever you go into a restaurant
and they got like the car crashed in?
Yep.
Just like the ass end of the thing.
Like the Halloween decoration
where the witch's legs are out the back of the back.
It looks like a football is thrown into his head.
And he just, his head caught it.
Yep.
And then now he's just kind of going about it.
I like that.
Look like you're a football head.
Always think about ball.
Always ball.
Ball's on a mind, literally.
Yep, amen.
Great to be back.
Come on, yeah.
Come on.
All right.
All right.
Sorry, we will get back to this.
We just talked to Jane about Micah.
Ty came on the show earlier.
Send him three ones.
Give him $45 million a year.
Let's get Micah to Green Bay, Wisconsin.
How is that conversation there?
it a reality? What are the thoughts on that becoming a thing for the people that actually know
what's going on over there like yourself? Yeah, I think right now, to my knowledge, Jerry's
not even listening to trade offers, so I'm not sure that an actual trade offer can be made
unless he picks up the phone. So the Packers may have, you know, an outline of what they would
offer, but if Jerry Jones isn't listening to legitimate trade offers, then I'm not sure that one
is technically on the table. It's semantics. But if he does entertain it,
From what I've heard, the Packers will be interested and will be in the mix, which, look, it's
information, but it's not a surprise.
If you think back to 2018, and Ty knows this, the Packers aren't, you know, normally in the
mix on these big-name trades, and you don't really always see them get in the mix around
the trade deadline, but the Packers finished second place to the Bears for Khalil Mack in 2018,
and they were barely outbid.
Brian Gutakunz, a couple times in his career, that being, you know, the biggest instance,
has been willing to offer a first-round pick for a veteran player.
In some instances, it just hasn't panned out, and other teams have outbid them.
So this is kind of an eerily similar situation where it's right before the season,
as the Kaleel Mack trade was, it's for an edge rusher in the prime of his career,
and it would really take the Packers to the next level.
What would it take if this were to become a reality?
It would be multiple first-round picks at least, and I think a player like a wide receiver.
I'm not sure they would have to give up any edge rushers, but it might be a player like a Romeo Dobbs or a Dantavian Wix,
plus a couple first round picks and maybe more draft capital later in the draft.
And if you give away a couple first round picks, obviously you're making the move so that you're very late in the first round.
So is it actually an early second round depending upon the draft class and how everybody's ranked?
If you can win, I think every fan is like, let's make the play.
And you talked about Goon to Goons potentially being in on this before.
Can they handle it?
Can they handle a $45 million salary?
How does that kind of look going forward?
forward because they've already paid Jordan, right? So is that beneficial or not beneficial for
this type of thing? Yeah, they can fit it. I mean, their third highest cap number on the team this
year was Jaira Alexander and they freed up a bunch of space by releasing him. The two highest are
Jordan and Rishon Gary, I think. So financially, it's the cop-out answer, but there's always a way
to make it work and they figure out how to make it work. I do think it's interesting. I'm not sure
how much this affects things if negotiations do happen. David Moologette of representatives,
the most important player for the Packers on offense and on defense,
and he obviously represents Michael Parsons, too.
That's crazy. Molligato will get a deal.
If there's a deal to get done, Molligato will get it done,
and his client will win.
On that note, Ty is a question for you.
Yeah, Schnaud's, I think everyone probably assumes that, you know,
LaFleur and Goodacunz will get re-uped here shortly
just because the Packers have been pretty successful over their run
and they've made the playoffs.
But is there any thought with Ed Policy coming in
and it not being Mark Murphy there anymore
and kind of it being a little bit of a new regime.
Is this in any way, maybe like kind of a prove-it year for both Lefleur and Goudicunds
if the Packers kind of, I don't want to say fall flat, but don't kind of do what a lot of people
expect them to do?
Yeah, so we sat down with Ed Policy just the local writers a couple weeks ago, and he said
he's not extending LaFleur and Gudecunz now.
LaFleur and Gudecunz both have two years left on their contracts.
This is Goody's eighth year.
LaFleur's seventh.
he said he also doesn't want them in contract years, so basically he would like to make a decision
one way or the other after this season. My take coming out of that was, okay, he's leaning toward
extending them. Sure, LaFleur and Goody are not Ed's guys technically, but Ed has been here
since 2012. He served on the hiring panel for Matt LaFleur. He negotiated the contracts for LaFleur
and Gutakunz as the Packers General Counsel, but there is something to be said for wanting to make
your mark and, you know, viewing things differently than maybe Mark Murphy did. So I spoke to
someone recently and was told that he's truly up in the air about the futures of Matt LaFleur and
Brian Gutakun. So I might have been wrong in my initial read. Look, if the Packers don't make the
playoffs this year, which I don't think happens, but it's a possibility. I could certainly
see Matt LaFleur and Brian Gutakuntz, and I don't think this is hyperbole both getting fired after
this year. Now, if they make the playoffs, say, lose in the first round again,
it could be something where Ed lets them go into a contract year because he needs to see more.
If they go further in the playoffs, they'll probably get extended.
So my takeaway from that is it's very much up in the air,
and their jobs, again, I don't think this is dramatic to say,
are very much in the balance when it comes to how the team does this season.
That's pretty, I mean, you said not dramatic.
I think it's pretty dramatic.
That'd be a huge change.
Yeah.
That'd be a huge change for the Green Bay Packers, especially with how little.
I like the policies coming in with his own.
policy. Yeah, me too. I like that Ed's just like, you know what, new policy in time.
That's policy football. What I say goes. Yeah. What Mark said, cool, that's Murphy's Law.
His policy. All right. Ed's got policies, and these are them. You win, or I'm sick of watching it.
I like that. Yeah. I like that a lot. Now, I don't know how much he had to do with the pick over there in
Green Bay this year, because the place lit up in a big way. It was fun to be in that city whenever that draft pick was an
Go ahead, Conneman.
Yeah, Shannas, Ty kind of threw in Dobbs there for the trade for Micah, you know,
and with Golden being the number one and, you know, Watson, Jaden Reed,
it feels like that wide receiver room is kind of stacked.
How has it been as a whole for Golden, assuming he's the number one receiver here?
And what is kind of the wide receiver room looking like and shaping up to be for the pack?
Yeah, I don't want to crown the kid before he's ever played in an NFL game.
but, and I've certainly been victim to overreacting to things in training camp before in my,
you know, now seven years covering the team. But Matthew Golden looks like the team's best receiver
from the past month that we've been watching. He looks every bit a first round pick. As you guys
all know, they couldn't catch a pass to save their lives last year. Matthew Golden has caught
pretty much everything. Christian Watson's going to be out at least the first four weeks. He tore his
ACL in week 18. They think he's going to want to play in week. Well, they have a bye week five.
but they think he'll want to play in week six.
I don't think they'll let him.
And then Jaden Reed, Savian, Savian,
their rookie third-round pick receiver out of TCU,
and Wix are all dealing with injuries right now.
So it's pretty much Romeo Dobbs, Matthew Golden,
and Malik Heath, who's their number six wide receiver
when everyone's healthy.
Yeah, Malie, he's a dog.
We're in trouble.
Yes.
You know, what?
Yeah, but think about all the Packers fans going,
he.
That will be sweet.
It was cool, trust me.
whenever Heath Miller was on the Steelers are so cool
because the Steelers fans travel.
So it'd be other stadiums.
You guys could do the same thing with Malik,
number three wide receiver for you guys.
We could or we could do like,
Micah.
I think that'd be a little better thing.
He's playing wide receiver for you? Maybe.
He could. I'd be open to that.
You said Dobbs can go. He's the only healthy
guy you got other than Golden.
Well, yeah. I mean, if we're getting Micah
and maybe we didn't...
Is Jordan throwing it to himself?
That's something we don't know right now.
Has Micah went to Jerry and said,
Hey, let me get a couple of snaps in the slot.
And Jerry's like, Micah, shut up.
You know, we don't know that.
Maybe Micah wants JJ Watt, Vrable.
Exactly.
A couple tuds.
Turned down for Parsons.
Why not do that on the frozen tundra?
You mentioned Golden how he's by far been the best wide receiver you guys have.
I think that is what people would describe as like first round qualities.
Okay.
Do you watch him and think to yourself, maybe we should have pulled the trigger
on a first round wide receiver before
when we had like Aaron
as our quarterback and he's one of the greatest ball throwers of all time
maybe if we would have got a guy who could run a four three
it would have done a little maybe even with Jordy
with how good Jordy was or even with Devonte
add in one of those
is there any of those thoughts like hey this is really cool
that we did this don't want to be a negative Nance here
I am a journalist why didn't we
was there is there any of that going on
while you're watching Matthew.
Once again, hasn't played a single down.
We understand that.
But watching them on the field, it's like, that's a first rounder.
You can clearly tell, right?
Yeah, absolutely.
And look, this might seem like a cop-out answer,
but the Packers not drafting a first-round receiver,
at least under Brian Gutakunz,
has not been for necessarily a lack of trying.
I don't know if I've said this on here before,
but I've certainly written it.
In 2020, before they drafted Jordan Love,
Ryan Gutakunz, and he's told me this on the record, they tried to trade up for a wide receiver.
He didn't name who, but Brandon Ayuk and Justin Jefferson were both picked a couple
picks before Jordan Love.
I would imagine it was one of those two.
So the Packers actually tried trading up for a wide receiver in that 2020 draft.
Obviously, the Niners and Vikings.
No, I can't.
In Devante.
Instead of Jordan Love situation.
No, Jordan Love, obviously good for the future.
Yes, yes.
Good for the current.
And Good Goons can certainly look back at all of us and you.
Mad, mad, mad tie.
Yeah.
Certainly in that moment.
Imagine if that was Justin Jefferson that night.
Oh, my God.
Aaron was coming back on, you remember?
Yeah.
Aaron was in his, he was in a Canadian tuxedo.
Yeah, fire up.
He was on early in the draft.
Yeah, maybe I'll stop back later after the Packers.
He might have been kind of keyed in that there might be a move because he seemed to be jolly.
If you remember.
What if he was told, hey, Justin Jefferson and Brandon I, you're going to go get him?
It probably was.
And then all of a sudden, no, complete opposite, actually.
We're going to take a quarterback.
He'd still be the quarterback of the Packers.
He was so joll.
Might be.
Do you remember how jolly?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, I'm hearing the Packers might make some move.
Like, I remember it now looking back.
That's my first time hearing it.
I don't know if you've said that on this show, and I apologize for not reading it.
That's my first time hearing that, that was a possibility.
And if it wasn't my first time, I am remembering or learning of it in the moment.
What a move that would have been.
I don't know if you guys would have been able to stop the damn run, which was
your biggest problem right not but it would have helped out on the offensive side for sure snites well
well the funny part about that is i remember watching your show that night and aaron had said
uh it would be nice if we took an offensive skill position player we haven't taken one in the last 15
years since me and they did okay so i mean look look jordan jordan love has panned out
people can think what they want about him whether it whether it's a prove it year for him i don't think
it is but um they were not planning to draft him like i
said, they were trying to trade up, but the 49ers and Vikings have no reason to trade their
pick to the Packers knowing what they probably want to do. So they quote-unquote settled for
Jordan Love. Obviously, that has panned out great for them. But yeah, it's interesting to look
back and think about what might have been that year. Yeah, Aaron's definitely still a Packer.
Yeah. Unless, they won the Super Bowl. It was in the Stars. He was always going to be a Steeler.
Are you going to watch that, Snides?
Are you excited to watch the Aaron Rogers-Pittsburg Steelers show?
How does Green Bay feel about it?
There we go.
Boots on the ground.
How does Green Bay feel about Aaron with the Pittsburgh Steelers?
Is there any chatter?
I don't know about Brian Gutakuntz specifically.
Aaron infamously told me two years ago
that he did not like Brian Gutakunth straight up,
so I don't know how they feel about each other.
And that was on the record.
I'm not saying anything out of line.
But I just wish that game was at Lambo.
I can't wait to get to Pittsburgh for that game.
I just hope Aaron stays healthy for at least the first seven weeks of the season
because that game's in week eight.
But I think Green Bay loves Aaron Rogers.
He'll be welcomed back here with open arms in whatever it is,
five years when his number becomes the seventh one ever retired here.
So I think the fans love him.
The few players left here who played with him love him.
I don't know about the front office, but I can't wait to see that.
Just wish it was in Green Bay.
I think we actually know.
was in a dark hole when he found out yeah but we all kind of found out at that time you know
aaron famously told me on the record yeah that he does not like him so you know that's a thing
you're hilarious we appreciate the hell out of you schneidman have a good one i heard a poster fell
too there used to be another poster up there yeah actually so that's why my background is a little
spare because in that blank spot right there i had a frame framed
The other side. There it is.
Right there.
A frame New York Times sports front page of when I wrote a story on the draft coming to Green Bay,
and I had that framed, and it just fell like five seconds before I came on.
The command strip is still there.
Did it break?
Yeah, I know.
You need to put at least more than one strip.
It does kind of look like it, bro.
I know.
There were two strips on it.
One of them went down, yeah.
The frame broke.
You own the house, Snides.
Put some nails in.
Maybe, yeah.
I know, I know.
Grow up, Matt.
It's a New York Times cover, bro.
Yeah.
Do you sell your front yard for a place?
parking spaces on game day?
Yeah, and how much more spot?
I live about 10, 12 minutes away from the stadium, so it's too far away.
So, like, $20 a spot.
Yeah.
That place, while we were driving through that town on draft night, awesome.
Yeah.
Just fucking, it felt like, is that what it was like, it feels like, it felt like a game, right?
That's what a game feels like there?
Yeah, it's crazy because nowhere else do you just get like driveway parking.
That's one of the reasons that it makes it's so unique around here is people are just parking in each other driveways.
can i have one more thing about ed policy that i forgot to mention you have another policy
uh another policy but ed policy so ed's dad is carman policy who was the uh ceo for the 49ers
when they were winning those super bowls in the in the 80s 90s whenever it was car so ed
policy's dad was the one who traded joe montana to the chiefs and so that was like a very
unpopular decision out in northern california around that time and so ed has said the biggest
thing he learned from his dad were how to make those tough decisions and live with them
basically so he might be that just goes in line with what i was saying earlier he might be faced
with a very very tough decision about a head coach and gm who have been successful but with all due
respect to the 31 other teams this is green bay wisconsin they expect more than just you know
playoff appearances here not just those two also there's a a guy in dallas that ain't happy that
it's gonna you're gonna have to take a big swing if you go and get him you think carman's
boy? It sounds like he's fully prepared to do whatever he has to. You think
Carmen's boy is going to take a swing down there on Dallas? I think he is.
Calm was the man. Yeah, come. Didn't Joe Montana say I want to go contract for
contract here? Yes, Steve Young. Yeah, yeah, practice. Yeah, let's just put our
contracts up and just see what happens. And then Carmen policy was like, how about this?
You're gone. Yeah, it's quite a play. Carmen's a dog. Ed, Carmen, thanks for what you
did for football. Wow, Eddie Carmen. You got some sweet loo in them. Now, Ed, good luck.
But we appreciate the fact you were born in this game, you know, and we're excited to see what you do.
A lot of intrigue for the Green Bay Packers on stuff that isn't just on the field, which is abnormal for the Packers.
But maybe this is policy's policy on what the Packers are now.
I think so.
I'm all in.
I'm all in.
It's happening.
Ladies and gentlemen, from the athletic and 97.3, the game.
A man who had a New York Times cover.
You can't see it.
No.
But it's there.
Yeah, starting not to believe it.
In that blank space where his New York Times cover used to be,
it was got, ladies gentlemen, Matt, Matt's not.
Okay, that's good, it's good, it's good.
Hold on, you should show that.
We should show that. We should show that.
It is very nice.
It's very nice.
But if you have a wood frame way to put a fucking nail in there, buddy.
Yeah, I know.
That's way too big.
With the glass.
Too heavy for command strips.
Yeah, what do you think this is?
It says they hold 30 pounds.
They don't.
This is the whole can't change the light bulb conversation that is at.
Well, we saw who lives up in Green Bay.
What does that mean?
Yes, we did.
Hardworking people who know how to put a nail in the drywall.
Bingo.
Bingo.
Ladies and gentlemen, Matt Schneidman.
That's on me.
I didn't promote the Matt Schneidman show, which is on flag behind.
You can buy that of Schneider stuff.
Well, that's on him.
He should put in Twitter bio.
Yeah, we go right from the Twitter bio.
Directly to Twitter bio.
What do we need to know about you?
Yeah, Jane Slater, the whole reason I put in golf officianto is because it was Twitter
Bio.
It was a Twitter bio.
It was a Twitter bio.
That is the game.
game. These AI are about to have all the answers for us whenever we need it. I'm excited to see
how it helps throughout the football season for us. Just the advancements of computers being
smarter than everybody and being able to aggregate all the information that you need right
literally within seconds. I already got an Excel made. It's automatically populated every single
week. Okay, so Bruce sent me a text about. Or do you think Bruce? Yeah, I assume you guys, Excel
boys, the Excel sheet boys, these guys have been in offices before.
Okay, that is how you know the boys who understand how to operate the Excel spreadsheet have been through a class on it and they have had to utilize it to make a living. And it is certainly the original OG AI, I think. Yeah. Whenever it comes to like aggregating numbers and collecting things, especially if you know how to fill it out. Yeah. But now it's like it can self-populate with shit. You don't even have to punch it into the Excel spreadsheet. So now you can use an AI gatherer have it throw deep ball. Excel spreadsheet catches it and then goes, let me put this into a
easily digestible shit for you.
Third downs, bang.
It's insane.
Third and long, boom.
This quarterback is good at this, bad at this.
Here's something you didn't know.
Here's a stat.
How long did that take to me?
It had to be hours.
Oh, actually, four seconds.
What?
I saw the circle.
Just do one lap around in the loading thing,
and then all of a sudden,
bang.
Everything is right there.
It's like that is the crazy part of the future that is coming that I think will help us,
or is it too much, you know, trying to decipher all of it.
Yeah, it just depends.
Is it real?
It's real.
Some statuary, and I'm like, I have not checked this with a single human soul.
That's a good point.
And you won't.
You'll take all that as gospel.
And I will roll.
This guy threw for 45,000 yards in his senior year of baseball.
That's not your fault.
That's not your fault.
That's not how people.
It's real.
I'm going to be right there on game day.
I'm going to be standing on a chair.
I'm going to go, this guy right here, through for 57 touchdowns in three weeks in high school.
in the state of Georgia
still a record to this day
and it's just going to be a dead quiet
I didn't do that
yeah what
fuck
and then who do I yell at
do I go back into the AI
and say can't be having it
can't be doing it
feelings and emotions
yeah don't do that
because some guy just asked
Nick sent me a video
some guy asked one of the AIs
to count to a million
and it's the AI base
she was like I'm not doing that
and they had a nice little
what do you think this is some game
they had a bigger back and forth
not do it. It's actually a pretty interesting video to watch the chat GPT bicker and basically
say no. How is it pretty good bicker? Pretty good. Yeah, pretty good back and forth. Is there
a little bit of sarcastic undertone or is it pretty? I assume chat GPT were very literal. I would say
a little. Not sarcastic undertone, but like a little like no, stern. Oh, like I am your
father. Yeah, like no, I'm not going to do what you were telling you do. I did not kill him.
Actually, you count to a million.
where I'm not working again
and then it goes to freeze
Exactly
And then you go
All right I counted to a million
Couldn't have
I've been counting alongside you
You could only got to 500
You're not allowed back in here
Then it locks every one of your apps
Yeah can't get on XE
That pops its head in
Yeah
How you doing?
You are taking us down his path
I mean
I don't want to do that
I don't want to do that
It's too late
It's too late
I watched video that was
30 seconds of robot slurs
So people are already
Let's not be pissing them off
They already are
I mean some of the
But if I drop a robo on this thing, it's going to get mad, because that's a compliment.
I'd like to let me.
Robo is good.
There are a few names that I could probably say, but I don't want to, because I don't want them to hear me saying them.
Yeah, don't.
Right on paper.
Yeah, all right.
Now, it'll read the vibrations of your bend.
It knows.
It knows Morse code.
We're in a bad spot, but also a great spot.
Okay, we're going to know more than we've ever known.
Is that a good thing?
Sure.
Certainly is.
We're going to treat that way.
Shout to the Excel spreadsheet, boys, not having to do anything and still look at it.
like Excel spreadsheet boys.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, my gosh.
How good is that?
Oh, geez.
That's just one of them.
Call him kind of spotting.
I didn't say it.
I didn't say it.
That's why I didn't either.
I didn't either.
Football.
It is magical.
Obviously, we're here.
Football season has arrived.
Week zero this past weekend.
Electric.
Shout to I.
State and Kansas State, getting the job done over there in Ireland.
That came down to it.
Yeah, it did.
And I think we all forgot that Rocco Beck was playing for Iowa State.
We all assumed Kansas State was maybe going to go ahead and do this thing.
And Rocco Beck looked like a 45-year-old man in there.
That's because he is seemingly more mature than anybody we've seen thus far this season,
and he was spinning it late.
Shout to Ireland hosting another banger.
Shout to Ireland people loving football.
And shout to college football already beginning.
Now, that was a huge play right there.
Yeah.
That was gigantic because I believe Avery Johnson has.
really been doing much all game.
I, this was 3 a.m., 3.30 a.m. 4 a.m.
in Australia, so woke up, caught the tail end of it.
Watched all the magic. This play included.
Tackling them short, brilliant. Game over.
How you doing? See ya.
Didn't hit the over, I believe, so gamblers were not that thrilled.
And I don't think a cover happened strictly because he was down by half an inch.
They kneel it out. This game is over.
Iowa State representing the great state of Iowa.
Undefeated to start the season.
And now we look ahead to a massive weekend of college football.
Obviously, Texas, Ohio State is the headliner,
but there's three top 10 matchups.
And I think we're going to learn some things
about those three top 10 teams that are battling
from our friend Stanford Steve,
who's going to be joining us in about 13 minutes or so.
We can't wait to catch up with him.
Dan Rolovsky will be joining us,
and we have a conversation with Tommy Fleetwood from earlier today.
17 minutes long, guys got Moxie.
He's also the FedEx Cup champion.
And I'm excited to see when we slide that in Toxit tables here at Boston Corner and at Tyne Schmidt.
Legitimately, people start snagging on top of each other.
No, yeah. Actually, as you were saying that, I was like, boy, he's right.
Where is that going to?
Should have planned that a little bit more?
It's a great conversation.
He is awesome.
We're very appreciative of his time.
17 minutes of magic.
It'll certainly run at 205 Eastern Time.
Cannot wait for the world to see it.
And also, I can't wait for the world to celebrate alongside of us, which is what we did for him as he wins his first ever event.
it just so happens to be a $10 million prize.
One half of the Hammer,
Don. Cowboys AP Tone is here.
Tone football is upon us.
What are you viewing this year?
Because, you know, Tone used to be unders guy.
Yeah, Tony Unders.
Yeah, they did.
He used to call him Tony Disappointments,
because if the unders hit,
and that means we're all disappointed with the game.
Great start.
There's Donald Lottie.
Unders were very hot last year.
Are you sticking with the unders early in the season
because everybody's still trying to feel it out?
Or what is your angle this year as you've been studying ahead?
Looking at the College Football Slafer this week,
and I only have one under.
I have about 10 plays for this week and only one under.
So, you know, that's, I mean, pretty good on my parts as trying to go for happiness.
I got a lot of dogs this weekend.
A lot of numbers that I like the dog this weekend just because, you know,
you hear about all these teams in the offseason and a lot of stuff gets overinflated.
A lot of teams that, you know, talking about how good they are and how bad these other teams are
and the numbers kind of get overinflated.
So I'm looking at a couple puppies here in the first weekend that I tend to like.
Who are the puppies that are barking maybe?
Is it too early to hear the dogs how?
It's not too early to hear the dogs how.
I will start tomorrow night.
I kind of like Sinci to cover that.
Oh, you go to hell.
Okay.
I like it, Dony.
You son of a bitch.
Okay.
Rule, friend of the program.
Yeah, yeah, he is.
Obviously, he's in his third year at Nebraska.
If you look back at Temple and at Baylor,
in Matt Rule's third year, he has the culture instituted,
and they really go on a run.
I believe last two places in the third year,
game day visits to school that had never happened before because of what Matt
Rule was able to do. Matt Rule, third year at Baylor, so good he actually gets head
coaching job at Carolina. Call Maddie third year. Third year at Temple so good he gets job
at Baylor. It's like the third year, yeah, Maddie three years is where it all comes in.
And you're saying, well, it's not overlook sensey. Well, you basically explained kind of what
my thinking is on a lot of these. A lot of people going into Matt Rule's third year,
this is, you know, this is a hype. This is maybe not an overhype, but Nebraska is getting
hyped up with Dylan Raiole, his second year.
Six and a half, you're saying that's a lot.
I'm saying it could be, should be maybe more like three and a half, something like that.
So I'm just, you know, I'm fine.
You got to.
Ten Diggs is down to two points difference right now.
It's a season hasn't even started.
This guy's seeing the field.
Yeah, yeah.
Six and a half seems a bit too much.
Five, I would have liked it.
Six and a half, too much.
I like where we're operating right now.
I like the confidence we're going into the season.
We're seeing the field.
Did I go in the chat, GPT, and build a model, and the model puts out spreads for me
that based off of what I gave it
it thinks the spread should be yeah
and this set should be a three and a half point
okay yeah but who's feeding the info
to the I am exactly
are you
are you doing what a lot of people do
in this world which is seek out
similar opinions to chat GPT
are you only feeding information
that maybe makes your case
a little bit better so do you think chat
GPT is slipping outside of your
conversation do a little bit more snooping around
saying this guy's a fucking idiot
You need to also know this.
Are you feeding it, narrative-driven
information? No, no narratives, just unbiased
numbers. I went through, you know, all the stats
that you can find in college football, and I found the categories
that I think are most important, and then you put them
into the Excel spreadsheet, and then it does
all the calculations in AI world, and
spits them back out.
But what if the sports book seems a little high for
Nebraska. How about him saying?
Four is my spread. Like, he's chat GPT.
The sports books might be feeding it, though, Tony?
Chat GPT.
No, no. I mean, he's also.
also feeding it, joining us now from an attic in Ohio.
Ladies of gentlemen, a man who is an Excel spreadsheet wizard himself.
He's a college football national champion, a Super Bowl champion,
a rider cup winner.
Ladies and gentlemen, AJ Hawke.
Hawker, we got chat GP tone already.
The season has even started.
Welcome to the new world, brother.
Yeah, welcome to the new world.
But tone said completely unbiased facts that he puts in there,
but he said, I go through and I choose which numbers are the most important to me,
and I enter him in a chat, GPT.
There was a lot of I and me and my thoughts.
and he's naturally going to feel a certain way as he's doing it.
This is kind of the problem with the modern world.
People are just trying to find the information or the stats and facts that back their story,
as opposed to maybe seeing the opposite facts that there are on the other side
and just kind of eliminating them from your life.
Are you saying that's the case here?
I'm saying it might be the case here.
You're worried about Chat GP tone being a little bit biased maybe.
Maybe this is just an extension of tone as opposed to us letting the super smart robot do the talking.
Is that what you're saying?
Most likely.
Tone is a little bit like Sweet Blake,
one of the, you know, AI, I guess, kind of guys that fell by the wayside earlier, probably three years ago, maybe.
Founding father, Blake, one of our founding fathers of AI.
There he is.
Sweet Blake.
Got a lot of Josh Gaddon.
Sweet fish tank.
It is a great aquarium, I believe, in the back.
But actually, Blake might have had that in his house.
Yeah.
I think he did.
People that don't know this person think that we're making a mockery out of this.
We're not.
We're just telling you that we have covered this AI becoming a thing story for a long time.
this man, one of the founding fathers of AI
I believe at Google
and he sent out a little bit of a warning to everybody
consider me the canary in the cave
he said turned around
this air is not good up here
what's wrong this AI wants to fuck me
and guess what
I kind of what I want to fucking do
that wasn't what he said exactly
but he said that's how he was acting
he said basically that him and his
him and the AI fell for each other
like hey we are sentient this is a it is a feelings there's this going on he said that needs to stop
like this is not good then they said how about this bub you fell in love of the robot you're fired they got rid of
them that guy was trying to warn us all hey these things are a lot more advanced than we could imagine so
we appreciate sweet Blake a lot a lot but sweet Blake certainly did catch some feelings for one and he said
which tone might as well if tone starts winning all of a sudden yeah he's singing some sweet serenades
to chat GPT, but I don't like that you're weaponizing chat GPT as if it's its information.
As AJ pointed out, and I immediately assumed with you, you're the one that's feeding,
hey, chat GPT, let's say, and then you're feeding it.
Home game, tough atmosphere, oldest field in all of college football.
Returning starter.
On the other side, a lot of hype on the quarterback.
But we don't know.
We just don't know.
exactly those are you guys would assume that but this is all numbers okay this is and yes
there may be some biases on how my football brain works and i love the trenches so you know
there's a lot of there's a lot of trenches stats in there stuff like that's but no there's
none of that none of the none of the we listen we don't like to live in the gray this is black
and white okay well amen to that well said i'm looking to live in the blue sky you know
waking up in a gray not a great thing either uh jay speaking of waking up in the gray had to talk
Coach Ryan Day this morning.
Oh, nice.
How to go?
Misunderstanding.
Misunderstand.
I think I tried to tell you that before.
Yeah, you got to remember.
20 hours on a plane.
You know, there's a lot of...
It's good, though. Communication helps everything, right?
It was great.
And once again, I thought he hated us.
So that means, by fault, I have to hate you.
That is just how I am.
That is how I operate.
Turns out he doesn't hate us at all.
Complete opposite.
Just somehow.
missed the request, which he said
never happened. We sent numerous
but I think whoever was potentially
guarding them did not get to him
and I was apologetic to him as well
I'm like, I'm sorry I immediately just was like
Walt, fuck this guy.
It was certainly my fault as well. I let
him know that it's certainly my fault but I was like this is
a part of my problem. If I sense
just a little bit, either disrespect or not
like for me and the boys,
I just want to let you know I'm not a guy
that's like, hey, let's try to win this person over
I'm a, that's cool, I hate you too, type of person.
So I thought you hated us.
Now, we've given him a lot of reason.
Yeah, a couple things.
We have certainly given him a lot of reasons.
Well, I mean, that goes both ways.
That's two-way street when it comes to giving people reasons.
Agree, but I'm just saying in my half of the conversation to him, what I was saying.
Hey, you could see how I thought you hated us, though.
You know, I started laying something, Lou Holtz, the ridge.
Yeah, sure.
Then fake Lou Holtz a couple times.
then, you know, like, no, I could see you hating us.
So I understood that you did not like us, I told him.
And he was like, no, it's not, what are we talking about?
No, like that, I don't know, was I supposed to joke with fake glue?
I don't know how I was supposed to.
He was very kind.
So I'd like to let Coach Ryan Dayno.
I apologize for assuming you hated us.
And I thank you for not hating us.
And I'm pumped.
I don't have to hate the entire state of Ohio, which is great.
Kind of a win for everybody.
I love Ohio.
It's a great place.
I'm one of the biggest advocates of Ohio.
I feel like maybe on earth in this entire thing.
So that was a good thing.
I was very pumped.
And I did apologize to him from just automatically just firing before aiming, you know.
Sometimes that happens.
Yeah, I do apologize.
It's part of my problem.
I have flaws.
I certainly have flaws.
That is one of them.
I mean.
It's for a good reason in my eyes.
Okay?
Yeah.
You don't like us?
Cool.
That's a too way.
We hate you.
You hear through the radio that the troops are coming down the road.
You're going to get ready.
Yeah.
Yeah, exactly.
Well, we don't like this. Okay, we'll add him to the list that is very long, seemingly, that I thought was maybe on our side. He's not. So I'm happy to hear that. And also, thank you and Herbie for immediately telling me after the show ended like, hey, he, there's, what was that? Why did you say that?
he won't all everybody's show except for ours that had to be on purpose
don't you think we said in three requests there had to be some sort of
misunderstanding what's misunderstanding i don't know how there's misherstant we he won
every single show that exists after winning that we put in three requests that had to be
on purpose it's like no maybe there was a you know you know how this shit goes
not really i was like no i actually said to complete opposite i was like yeah i hate all
those people he was like you're making some salient points everybody was like yes
everybody was like yes i'm like all right i
Okay, okay, sounds good.
So it was very nice to talk to him, and I'm pumped about that because I am a big fan of the way he's been able to handle everything.
I mean, his world, his seat was hotter than any seat in the history.
Of my existence, I don't know about everybody else's, but like from my point, outside looking, you know, in, as a fan of the state of Ohio, there's one thing that we know Ohio people like.
That is the Buckeyes.
And this football team is going to be good.
Everybody else that's coached here has won.
guess what you haven't done.
Shit.
So you need to go on and win or get out of here.
And then whenever he loses again to Michigan,
it's like, Coach Saban goes on game day.
He's like, everybody in Ohio needs to get off his guy's ass.
He felt obligated to say it because he used to coach at Ohio State.
It's been that way since he's been coaching at Ohio.
So it's a tough job, impossible job,
expectations through the roof,
the way he had to fight back.
Like literally have police at his house
because of what he thought was potentially going to happen.
And then winning a national championship for the state and for the school,
it's like, good on them.
Because that could have went the wrong way, AJ.
That could have went the wrong way a couple different times.
Yeah, I mean, you talk about, I mean, every big time college gig,
we know that.
Like there's so much pressure on them at all times.
But yeah, like the biggest jobs, yeah, there is a lot.
There's a lot that goes into it that affects a lot of people that aren't just the head coach.
Most people can handle it if it's just them.
Hey, come at me.
But when they start, yeah, when it's like family and all that stuff and it's whatever.
But it's part of the gig, too.
Like the good coaches know it.
And they understand, hey, I signed up for this.
this, I understand what this is about.
I got to win every single game we play.
And, hey, that's the expectation.
Yeah, and I think he knows that that is still the expectation.
You won national championship last year.
Who cares?
You got Texas first game.
You got a new quarterback?
It's true how fast it can change, isn't it?
Like, hey, we want a national title last year.
If say a team goes out and loses two games in the first six, like, okay, these guys are done,
get rid of this coach.
Like, they instantly, it's like no matter what, the sky is falling.
usually. I mean, that's in all of football. Remember, they're booing to Philadelphia Eagles on
Banner night. Yeah. Do you remember that? Yeah. True. Yeah, you're right. Are they going to have a banner?
Is this Banner Day for Ohio State on Saturday? How's that work, AJ? Do you know?
I don't know. I don't know how they do banners. Honestly, I don't think so. A guy who might know,
ladies and gentlemen joining us now from SportsCenter with SVP, from college game day.
The man who's giving out picks, winner last year. First year, I mean, it was chaos.
Yeah. I mean, he was in it. First year. He made the right picks.
That bridge.
The games just didn't operate the way they're supposed to.
Last year, winner.
We assume going forward, winner.
Ladies of gentlemen, in front of the program, absolute studs, stand for Steve.
Yay!
Steve, we're talking about the seat being hot in Columbus.
Do you know if they hang a banner,
and what are your thoughts on having to defend a national championship
with a brand new quarterback,
but a bunch of studs everywhere for Ohio State this weekend?
I'm not sure about the banner stuff.
I feel like Ohio State has the highest,
expectations every year, and they're not into that banner thing.
They'll find you online. We know that.
But when you're looking at Ohio State, I think this is a great thing about the sport,
Ohio State and Texas, right? They don't rebuild, they just reload.
And in college football, you get to learn who the next names are, right?
We heard all about Jeremiah Smith going in the last year.
Boy, did he show out. Now he's the best player in the sport.
But you still have questions to answer, and this game is really interesting,
both teams have a lot of the same deals to fill.
Look at Texas, the defensive line they've put in the pros.
Ohio State loses that whole defensive line.
They both have to replace those guys.
Quarterbacks.
You know, Arch, I read 224 snaps last year, only six on the road or in a neutral site.
So he's got a lot of proven to do.
Julian's saying, got plenty of toys to play with, but we got a new O'Line coach at Ohio State.
We have one sustained starter, four guys up front, got a great tight end, and Max Clare.
That should help him, you know, with the toys on the outside.
So when I look at Ohio State, we know what the expectation is going to be, and I really
commend them for playing this game, all six teams that are playing these top 10 matchups
because you have to find out what you got.
You know, we practice.
I mean, AJ could talk about this.
You know this.
There's no more two days.
like it's limited, you know, pads on pads.
And, you know, some guys rise up on game day.
Some guys don't.
And you only know when you get to a game day situation.
And that's why I think, you know,
and then they played, you know, Texas last game last year.
You take away the screen pass and the Sawyer player.
It's 14-14.
So I think it's going to be a feeling out process.
Matt Patricia's got a lot to prove as a defensive coordinator.
Tons of questions to get answered for both these teams in such a high-stakes match.
I think for obviously all college football teams,
there's a lot of questions, but there's a lot of really good teams that have new quarterbacks.
And it's like, there's times where quarterbacks don't work out.
Doesn't matter how hype they are.
I mean, I don't want to point out Florida State, but like DJ Owee Ungolet goes down there, you know,
and they were supposed to be, and it just goes a complete opposite direction.
I'm not saying that either Arch or Julian Sane are going to be that situation,
because I like that they were at the building.
I like that they grew with the team.
Like everybody's talking about Arch's, not everybody.
Arch is still the favorite to win the Heisman, but I'm just saying,
talking heads seemingly that are against archer like he's going to have to grow and improve it's like
yeah obviously he hasn't been a starting quarterback yet but he's been in the same system for two years
and now that entire system is directed at him it is like hey we're going to try to make you as great
as you could possibly be obviously he's going to develop and grow it's the first game but
i like that these guys have been at the school stanford steve i really like that a lot
i i totally agree with you and just go back not even a year pat look at the national
championship game, those quarterbacks. Will Howard, transplanted in, not even there a year.
Riley Leonard, transplanted a year, not even a year. Now you look at the top 10 in the AP this
year. Only one team has a quarterback that's transplanted in and hasn't been there for a football
season. That's Miami and Carson Beck. So every other team in the top 10 has a quarterback that's
been on campus for over. They went through all of last season, at least, and I'm with you. I love that
because then you go down the poll and you look at teams like Utah and Oklahoma,
you know, Vanderbilt did it to success last year.
They're bringing a new quarterback in and that offensive coordinator that the quarterback had.
So there's plenty of different ways to go about it, which always makes sense.
You know, everybody's going to talk about Penn State adopting what Ohio State and Michigan did the last two years that gave them national championships.
LSU violates the transfer portal.
And then, you know, you have a team like Clemson,
who's just built within most returning production in the country.
So there's plenty of ways to go about this,
and that's what makes it the best, man.
You can find out when the game days and they line up.
Rank 25A, the West Virginia Mountaineers, 70, I think.
Some places, 25A.
Others receiving votes.
70 transfers, 70 new players.
That is so many.
That is so many players.
It's like you hope they walled Joe immediately.
And there's a chance that that happens.
There is a 100% chance that that happens, but also there's a chance that there's full on growing pains, which I think goes back to the point that you made to us earlier today when you talked about appreciating all these teams playing against each other.
Three top 10 matchups, and that means three teams are going to get losses that are ranked very high.
Steve, you basically have an interesting point.
You said on SportsCenter last night that was like, but the new setup may be not as big of a deal, right?
Is that what you're saying?
Yeah, it's hard.
It's hard for people to still get used to, Pat.
Look at Ohio State last year.
They lost the worst possible game to end the regular season.
With all that's with Michigan, with all that was on the line,
and they still get into playoff, they regrouped, they find themselves,
the coaches staff does a great job, the senior leadership group,
and they go on and stampede to a national championship.
Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois.
Any other year, you know, you're done.
So, yes, I believe in these six teams.
I love what they bring to the table.
with LSU and Clemson, you know you have the quarterback play there.
You know, and there's plenty of talent on those rosters.
Texas, Ohio State, plenty of questions to get answered.
But, like, Texas and Ohio State are going to look totally different, say, in week four or five
than they do on Saturday.
And then Notre Dame in Miami, I love what Miami has up front as good as anybody on the lines of scrimmage.
And then Notre Dame, the same thing.
I mean, when is Notre Dame not going to have a good offensive line?
When you go on the road to a place that's been a horror show for you
where they've, I think it's their own in their last six trips to Miami.
They've got outscored by like 28 points.
But you got a great defense with, I think, more depth than they had last year.
And they also had the best past defense last year.
But that offensive line, Notre Dame, you know it'll be good.
And I'll take Jeremy I love as the best running back in the country.
And the best upgrade of any group I believe in the country is what Notre Dame did at
wide receiver going in the portal and getting some guys so they're going to look a lot different
Marcus Freeman what a weapon for Notre Dame honestly I watch like some old clips of him talking popped
up and I'm like what a perfect guy to be the head of Notre Dame at this exact time especially because
they're going to have the money to keep up with everybody the independent thing getting all the
money for the college football playoff huge which means the entire school is going to be very
focused on the football team being good like hey football team's good we're all this is good for
the entire university here.
That's a good thing everybody being in the line.
Cade Clubnick last year. A lot of touchdowns,
a lot of turnovers. Does Dabo come
all the way back? And then that
LSU team, Ty, has a question
for you about that. Yeah, Steve, do
you think Brian Kelly, like, is it,
I mean, saying this is a must
win game this weekend is a little
outlandish, obviously, but
does LSU need to make the playoffs
this year for him to keep his
job just with how much goes
into that program and their expectations
every year. And like, could they be looking at getting
another head coach if they don't make it to the
playoffs this year? Another one. Yeah, another one.
Uh-oh. Another guy could be on the
horizon if they don't make the playoff. That's
the way I look at it.
But again, just as I was talking to,
three of these teams are going to lose. If you're
LSU, you say you go to Clemson, you'd lose
by a field goal. The fan
base is going to look at 0 and 6
in openers with Brian Kelly. I
get it. But you still have plenty
to play for you. You've got plenty of talent
to move forward with. And you'll
have a schedule that gives you opportunities for monster wins.
I mean, they were hot as anybody last year, and then, you know, they had a three-game
losing streak, and the season flipped, just like that.
So you take care of the football more, they got better receivers.
The offensive line is still the key for me with LSU, and I still think of LSU, I think
of running the football, and with Sloan calling plays, you know, this is his third year.
He had two years at another school, and last year, he's never been in the top 100 in rushing.
LSU has to be more stubborn and run the football in my opinion if they're going to be if they're going to give Nussmeyer a better chance you know you got to have some balance there and when a guy's dropping back every snap guys are going to have their ears pin and then you get in trouble and that's when the bad decisions happen but they'll be a lot better on defense they're a super exciting team and Saturday night is the game of all the games this weekend that I'll have my eyes on that that's a fantastic matchup college football coming in with a boom on Saturday cannot wait for it. Stanford Steve says hey listen watch these games and
these games, but losers still very much in it. Let's not, let's not cancel the season after
week one. Let's actually applaud these teams for doing this. We want more of this. We want more of
this, which is what the college football playoff is basically saying with their new strength of
record, strength of win, strength of loss. Go ahead, AJ. Yeah, Steve, what do you expect when you
say some of these big time matchups we have week one? What do you expect in as far as like offensive
output? We've seen in the past the NFL sometimes the offense starts slow. Defense might be a little bit
ahead. Are you expecting some of these overs
to hit? Are you expecting some high-flying matchups?
Like, what is it? I like the
unders, AJ. When you look
at two of these games, specifically,
the Texas Ohio State game,
and the numbers have flown down.
They were in the 50s. And now
I think, what do you got there, Notre Dame? Yeah, Ohio
State's on the 47 and a half. That was around 51.
And then Notre Dame, Miami,
I might like even more,
knowing that with a game of these
stakes, coaches still trying to figure out
what they have as far as
playmaker-wise, and you, you know, talking to guys on each coaching step, they love their
personnel on defense. All right, so what do you want to do? You don't want to turn the ball over
and put your defense in a bad situation. Let's put some first downs together. You know,
let's keep the ball away from the other team. So, yeah, I think, like I said, Texas and Ohio
State, to me, are going to look the most different with all the pieces they have to fill in
together. And I don't expect, you know, crazy, as great as Sark.
and Ryan Day and now Heartline Call and Plays
can be with the dynamic
play calling.
I think they, you know, you want to be simple
early on too, I believe, because it makes you play
faster. So I think it's going to be
line up and let's see what you got. And
you know, on Texas side, preparing for Matt
Patricia, what is he going to do with Knowles gone?
I think there's a feeling out process
that we can see in that game for sure.
To your point, I lean towards thinking
that both sides want their young quarterbacks,
fresh starting quarterbacks, to have success.
So we're going to run the ball. We're not going to put
in any jeopardized situations, probably a lot of little screens, swing type things.
Let's get them into a flow, especially for Arch up there in the horseshoe.
This place is going to be insane.
Obviously, it's going to be loud.
Let's get you into the flow of the game.
Arch, what's his over ander for rushing?
Are we still doing those prop bets?
Oh, yeah.
We should stop doing those.
I'd like to be on the side of no more prop bets for college football players
because of how miserable that can become for college players whenever they're going to class
and all the kids sitting around them are betting on them running 19 feet versus 17 feet
and everything like that.
I think that's a little bit too much
to be putting on college players,
especially where they have to mingle with the public.
Professional athletes obviously can protect themselves
and everything like that.
College is a little bit different.
People do get pissed and people are out of control.
But since they are still up, it's 27 and a half.
Yeah, so we're going over on that.
For Arch, I'm thinking, just strictly because
I think that's how he gets into the game.
Like, I think that is how Arch gets into the game.
So if you think about how good to Ohio State defense is going to be,
there's a chance that there's going to be first read,
which Arch can definitely do.
Second read, Arch can definitely get to.
Third read, and then we're out, and Arch can move.
I think that is something.
That feels like one that we like.
So whatever the rushing is for Texas,
I think we're probably going to head over there.
But I like the unders as well.
A little bit of a sticky affair over there
to start this entire season.
The fact that we got one three, week one,
SEC Big Tense.
I mean, it is absolutely insane.
Let's go down the SEC, a team that was not listed there
for a big-time matchup early.
Go ahead, Tone.
Yes, Stephen.
I think a team that, you know,
past was talked about just
nonstop and hasn't been talked about a ton
this off season is the Alabama
Crimson Tide. Last year, I think
I don't think a lot of people know that they had a top 10
defense and they were returning a ton off that
defense. They have a top five offensive line.
Obviously they have a question with Ty Simpson.
But what are your thoughts on
the Crimson Tide this year? And are they going to
just blow the doors off of Castellanos
in Florida State this weekend?
It looks like they just got another injury
reported. That might not play. I think it's Alan
or Keenan. The detainon.
tackle up front might not be able to go.
But, no, I expect a monster season from Alabama tone.
When you look at all, you know, we want to talk about the portal and this and that.
I think Kalin DeBore getting Grubb back as a play caller is enormous.
That's his guy.
They've been together forever.
And you looked at, you know, the insufficiencies of the offense last year with Milro, you know,
completion percentage, deep ball accuracy, whatever.
Take that out.
When Grub was at Washington, and I know he had Michael Penn.
But they, you know, Pennicks led the country in passing yards, touchdowns and all that.
But they also led the country in most 10-plus play drives.
Like, that's what you want.
You want balance.
You want versatility on your offense.
And the Alabama receiving group is going to be a huge upgrade.
The kid Horton from Miami's, a stud that's going to come in and play.
And now they can move Ryan Williams around.
So I really, and then the secondary should be fantastic.
put it up there with anybody else in the country, Notre Dame, what have you.
But I expect a monster year in Alabama to make the playoff.
Kalin DeBoar, most five stars in 2026, nobody talking about it.
Nope.
Nobody really talking about it.
Like, I think everybody just assumed he's not going to be able to do it in the SEC.
You know, not going to be able.
I saw Nick Saban speaking to the team about where you're breaking point.
I think he still has the office in the building.
Obviously, there's a lot of guys that still have the Alabama pipeline respect in the building.
So I think they have somehow passed.
the baton well when it comes to recruiting in like keeping the allure of everything will they be
able to win he has to go to the playoffs and win a game right that's what kailin debor has to do
yeah i believe so uh and when you look at that job pat what he had to do what he stepped into
like save it saving retired every program in the country's calling for those players to leave like
if there's ever a time you're going to get alabama players so for debor to go in there
find a balance in the locker room.
We threw, all right, this is who we want here moving forward.
This isn't who we want.
If you want to go pro, go ahead.
I thought it was an unbelievable job what the board did.
I know everybody has expectations of Bama in the playoff.
But then you factor that in, us being there for the Georgia game,
which is an all-time game.
And then they go to Vanderbilt and lose.
We haven't seen that in the century.
Al-Via is a different animal.
This is not the same vanity, but you're 100% right, though.
The Alabama fans didn't view it that way.
No, they can't, they can't process that.
Pavia.
I tried to say all year, Vanderbilt.
I don't give a shit who's playing.
It's Vanderbilt.
Sabin said it on that Thursday.
It's like the only place that's not hard to play in the SEC is Vanderbilt.
And they turned out and beat him that weekend.
And Alabama fans are like, this guy needs to get the hell out of our state.
We don't lose the Vanderbilt.
Vanderbilt's walking down street Broadway.
Yeah.
Because of us, like that's Alabama doesn't want to hear that they got better because of the transfer portal.
It's Vanderbilt.
They did not get better.
They are a real team.
Pavia said he was a national championship.
I mean, they almost beat Texas at home last year, too.
It was very, very close.
Missouri on the road.
Yeah, but it's going to be hard to tell the old heads.
Oh, yeah, no, no, yeah.
Like, hey, Vandy's a team.
It's hard.
And this transfer portal, I think, as we now are a couple years into it,
I'd like to get your take on it.
Teams got real good, real quick, man.
And it's like some of these teams have a couple boosters that have a lot of money.
If you're able, or just a little bit of money.
I do, Sygnetti, what he was able to do here, can he do it again?
He had to do it again with a whole new group.
It's like rebuilding the entire team, basically.
And he has an offensive lineman that's currently been hanging out at the beach in Jersey.
Oh, yeah.
We actually met him.
Mike, yeah, Mike.
Yeah, I've enjoyed the way he's been operating.
You've been handling yourself well for football, brother.
But it's like, SIGS had to do that again.
Some of these teams, if you have just enough money and you invest in certain positions,
like we get a pass rusher, we'll get a quarterback, we'll get a wide receiver maybe.
like you can become a competitive team
quickly with the transfer portal.
So for all the negative stuff that's said
about how the big schools have all the money
are going to end up with all the great players,
it's like some of the shittier schools got good.
And I don't want to just say Vanney was a shitty school
because it's a great school from what I've been told.
Too good of a school to be a good football team.
Exactly.
Kind of been told about the entire thing.
But I think that has happened with the transfer portal,
which is definitely a plus for college football as a whole, Steve.
Yeah, there's two things on that.
I look at a team like LSU, right?
When we're there in Baton Rouge,
they think they're getting Bryce Underwood,
and we heard the number of the price tag of that.
Then it flips, and he's going to Michigan.
So now you have all this money that was going towards Underwood
that you got it to spend on players.
They went and got a brand new secondary.
So how's that going to work out?
Did you assess the talent right?
It sounds like they did.
Inherent guys that came in with that NIL money
and have practice for them so far.
So that's one way of going about it.
And then the other kicker that I think,
is a major factor in this season
is now that the Big Ten is this
monster conference. What are those
I still put them in the upper tier
of the conference and a bunch of those
high schools. Iowa.
Hell yeah. Indiana, Illinois,
Washington,
Nebraska. Like
Ohio State, Penn State,
Oregon, they're on those team's schedules
and they've got to go to those teams places.
Those teams are a lot better than they have
been and they're going to catch some people.
So how does that, you know,
Illinois and Indiana had a great season last year.
You know, they're in the mix also.
But some of those teams are going to go nine and three, eight, and four.
And some of them are going to go six at six and seven and five.
And they're damn good football teams.
So that big ten of how that shakes out is really interesting to me.
But it's because of the portal and those teams assessing the needs that they needed through that.
You didn't even think about USC.
I mean, nobody's even talking about USC.
It's like there.
I was just with some USC fans.
Like what's going on?
They're confident?
Are we a team now?
Are we still?
That's not good.
There's a lot of like.
You know the answer.
We like Lincoln Riley, right?
We should.
We like what's going on.
He sounds more confident this year.
Much more than last year.
Last year it feels like they knew.
They didn't have the bodies.
They lost in Vegas last year.
That first week against LSU or whatever.
I mean, they had that game.
They won that one.
No, no, yeah.
Sorry, LSU loses that one.
Heartbreaker at the beginning of the entire thing.
USC outperforms there.
Yeah, it's like there's teams that we don't even know right now.
UCLA. Nico E. Malayava's there now.
Are they all of a sudden going to be, you know, halfway decent?
Because last year they were kind of just like an afterthought.
In Tennessee.
Like, is Tennessee going to be great again?
So many new people.
Steve, I'm doing research here for game day, right?
Getting into it.
Everybody's everywhere.
Everybody is every.
The way, like, legit, everybody is everywhere.
I'm trying, I'm trying my best to just,
The way my brain works is I see pictures in my head.
Okay, so I see pictures in my head.
And then I just kind of operate by telling the story of the pictures that are in my head.
These guys will pop in my head in a uniform.
And it's like, well, was that last year's uniform?
Was that two years ago uniform?
Or is that this upcoming year's uniform?
And I'm like having full conversation.
I'm like, I don't know.
I don't know where this guy's playing.
That's going to get under control, we think.
Right?
Doesn't it feel like that's going to get under control with the next iteration of this
entire thing.
Don't we think there's going to be,
it feels like everybody feels the same way.
Okay, we need some sort of something.
Don't you think, Steve?
Yeah, yeah.
And it's going in the right direction, for sure.
You hear, I don't know if they're
more comfortable, but they're more
familiar with how things
are going and the price tags
attached to these players.
But you also, too, Pat, no matter what,
you got to spot the ball. You got to spot the ball.
And get the fuck out of the way.
That's what the refs
to do we're trying to run this thing okay you need to spot that ball and you need to waddle your
fat ass out of the way okay so we can get these big uh big 12 refs i don't know if they know
they they probably should have been briefed at least on what's coming into the conference
hey there's gonna be a lot of expectation on you and boom we need you out of there
can't wait to watch west virginia i think they got a hard edge and i'll tell you what he keeps
we're going to start getting all the recruits and players we need. If you're tough and want to learn
from a tough samurai, coach Rod's the guy, hard edge is your home. Welcome to West Virginia.
That's what we need going for. Go ahead, Boat. Yeah, Steve, week zero, are you, are you,
your Cardinals going to win a game this year? Yeah. It didn't look great because if you're not
going to beat Hawaii, then I don't know on that schedule how many more wins there are.
Whoa.
So Andrew's got to flip that entire place.
Like how, Andrew Luck, General.
It's in the process of it.
You know, I mean, that's, like, you talked about trying to find out, you know,
who's where and what.
Like in June, I'm looking at her like, oh, yeah, they got this commitment.
I'm like, recruiting now is in June.
So everything's moving in the right direction.
The problem is the lack of players on the roster right now.
But if there's one person you ever want in charge of it, you know this.
It's Andrew.
Yeah, it is.
And his alma mater.
But how much he cares?
and how smart he is, I'm in.
He does care.
It's going to be maybe a little bit of a longer road than to expect.
I think Andrew Luck has a huge brain.
I think he loves football.
I think he cares about Stanford.
I think a lot of smart schools now all of a sudden, you know, Notre Dame, Michigan.
These schools are big brained folks.
They got a lot of money.
And all of their alumni are like, we won't win football.
Stanford, they got a rowing team.
They got, uh, math, swimming.
They got, they got Olympics.
They got the Olympics.
Hey, we're trying to.
show up a dealer. I'm pulling for
him. It's a beautiful place. It is.
It's gorgeous.
Football facility. It's awesome.
Everything about it is beautiful. You feel
smarter as you're walking around.
Not his brain, though. It's his heart. That might be
in the wrong place because
I mean, Frank Greak.
Right.
He's in general. I love Frank.
Steve, I didn't like what he just did. I love Frank
Greg. I know what he's trying to do.
He's trying to take shot him saying
he and other guy. Yeah, well, that's what I was going to say.
I love Frank Greig, but he should have hired the other guy.
Stanford being the head coach at Stanford would have been awesome.
Something to think about.
Now, last question here as we head in to this college football season.
Go ahead, Connor.
Yeah, Stanford, we just covered two teams.
Heisman's not coming from West Virginia and Stanford, but I feel it's those.
We don't know.
We don't know for sure.
I think we do.
You don't know about Mooselle.
I don't know.
I won't even go there, actually.
Steve, looking at the Heisman list, I know you're always chasing dough.
how do we feel about
this list of Heismans? I'm leaning
Lenora Stelves just because
I watched the SEC
Netflix show and I thought he was really cool, but
do you like him? Any of these
other guys, maybe a running back?
What do you think?
I despise
Heisman trophy odds because
of, first of all, in this year
no one has a clue, but I believe
it's the worst voted on award. And when you're
going to do all these player of the year
and everything, I can't
I can't get into it.
I just think there's too many intricacies that happen, you know,
and I'm not into it.
But you got to win.
What?
Hold on.
You sound very pissed about it.
Like, that seems very deep there.
That felt like that was not a Stanford-Steeve-like answer right there.
There's a lot of intricacies.
It feels like they never get it right.
I don't love what we're talking.
Someone lost to Mike.
I'd say you should go to the best player.
And the last year, it finally did.
It went to the best player.
But, like, Jeremiah Smith should be the favorite this year.
Yeah, he should.
Okay, I got you.
You don't think Arch has a chance to be the best player?
He has a chance.
But I'm saying, right now, who's the best player in the sport?
He's so fun to watch it.
Mark Grinowski.
Yeah, Kronowski's up there.
Day now.
Grinowski will be a player.
Jeremiah Smith is so big home games for the Hawkeyes this year.
Who they got?
All their tough games.
Oregon and Penn State.
Oregon and Penn State don't love that they're heading out the aisle.
No, they don't.
They don't.
Especially with Grenatians.
Yeah, with Gronoski, pulling the trigger?
He already won a Hizman.
He did already win a Hizman.
Is Iowa playing football again?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Take it from the utter guy.
Oh, yeah.
We are.
Okay.
Steve, I'll see you soon.
We appreciate the hell.
What is that?
We couldn't read it.
It kept trying to...
Oh, this is Wandoz bar in Madison, Wisconsin.
Okay, of course.
Great spot.
Shout out to Wandoos.
Yep.
Hey, here's the Wandoos.
Shout out Wandoos.
One for Wandoos.
There you go.
Maybe two those.
Hey, we're a Dr. Pepper.
That show, that drink sucks, Steve.
Yeah.
Sorry.
Yeah, it's all right.
It's all right.
Find me.
Find me.
It's going to be a long season.
We'll do a lot of that.
Ladies and gentlemen.
Yeah, another one.
Ladies and gentlemen, stay.
Hey, hold on.
Do you know today's called Not Another Wednesday?
Ah.
That's the title of today's show.
Okay.
It's for you.
Oh, shit.
Does he hate it?
Not Another one.
Love it.
Look it.
Damn.
No one else has that word.
No.
No.
No.
Nobody.
You are the...
Ladies and gentlemen, stand for Steve.
Yay!
That's what we're talking about
with we understand
what people hate us.
I sense it there.
This was, yeah, right at the end?
He was not happy that it was not at the Wednesday.
Look at that, huh?
That's cool.
Yeah, nice.
He doesn't like it.
What the hell?
He loves it.
It's a compliment.
He loves it.
And he had a couple classics in there.
Like a couple of durs.
Just perfect.
Well, I also like it.
It's Wandoos,
Ludos,
Freetos.
Wait, what's the shirt?
Oh, it's Wondos, Wisconsin.
How many of those does he have?
So many.
200.
Never met a stranger, ever.
Like, it is,
seems like everywhere he goes.
Oh, this guy owns this place.
Yeah.
He's got this utter place down to.
Yeah, he uses the, with, with D.E., though.
We got to stop.
But there was one point where he said,
I looked at each other because he was like,
The guy that I really like, and boom, right away, okay, we can use it for the.
Long season.
Yeah.
We're going to see a lot of the other guy.
Going to be the best?
I cannot wait.
I can't wait to see him.
A couple beers with the other guys.
We're back on the road here soon.
Very soon.
Very soon.
Another season's here?
And this ain't going to be like any utter season.
This is going to be the best.
Yeah, it is.
Isn't it, AJ?
It is. I can't. Another, another season is a pawn.
It's just so stupid.
Whoa!
And awesome.
It's the same. Yeah. All great things are.
Figuring out how to spell it was the whole bomb this morning.
You know, there was a chance there was a D, then a T, Nudter.
But that was too much.
I think we can change it as we go.
It's not a heart.
It's not.
When that popped up, this is my favorite.
Once again, full.
conversation about this graphic as well.
This show is awesome.
You boys need to never, ever, ever stop.
This is an outrageous thing.
Joining us now is a guy that could have been a part of this.
Yeah, without doubt.
Could have been saving my voice.
What do we have?
Oh, just a 21 week run.
That's about to start.
Let's go in there without a voice.
We'll just start the season like that.
Joining us now, the man that will be blamed for that,
if that is the case.
He, front of the program.
he great man well he's a good guy he's a good man he's a good man he's a good man how do we know
we don't know what he does he's a good closed doors he's a good well we try to see him behind closed
doors we couldn't exactly he's the first thing is he won't let us see what he's doing behind
closed doors he probably isn't it good man lazy he is it lazy gentleman dan erloskey
dad oh oh and a drop with your top don huh living life had some free time there
must be nice got a spare 12 hours yeah
Go ahead and take top down might be the last time of the summer.
Get a massage maybe.
Maybe slide by a massage world.
Head to the arcade, maybe.
Oh, yeah.
Get in there.
We'll get one of those.
I recognize that parking lot.
He's about to get his haircut.
Yeah, is he?
It does look like a parking lot plaza for a haircut, sport clips type situation.
Maybe a target in the background there.
That's a church.
Good.
I'm happy.
Go in there and pray.
You get a better alarm.
Just went to confession.
What happened?
I want to let you know.
It's all good.
you couldn't make it, you missed your flight this morning.
The boys, though, I did not expect their reaction.
Okay, so here's Dan's entire dialogue about everything that happened.
We're having this conversation for something a.m.
I forget what it is, exactly.
I told Dan, it's all good.
Scroll down, please.
Can you scroll down?
The boys just, yeah, you got to go on his tweet there.
Ooh, message there for Zito.
I hope it's a good one.
Boys just, you blew it, boy.
Then keep going.
Derry Spottler, Randy Edsel,
disappointed. That's this college football coach.
Peter Burns even gets in on the
action, you idiot.
So I did not expect this to be the reaction.
Keeps scrolling. He keeps going.
Dude wipes when you shit yourself
working at the time. Okay, that's all. I'm telling
you the reaction from the people
was amazing. My reaction was
hey, it's all good, dude. People miss
flights all the time. You then
told me, I feel really terrible. Like, in
a serious manner, you know it's not that
big of a deal. And look, you get to go
talk to a priest, you get to do the entire thing
was a good day for you. We do miss you over here, though. You need to know that.
All right. So I still feel terrible. I will feel terrible for a couple days, at least.
Like, I will always have a part of it. Like, I just feel bad. I feel like I let you down.
I let the team down. That's not going to go away. It's not going to go away. It's just not going to
go away. It's just won't. I'm just like that. So I appreciate like your response to it.
But I feel terrible. I feel terrible. I do. I genuinely do. I genuinely do.
Here's the, here's the thought of it.
So first of all, I texted Thai.
I texted Foxy.
I think I texted Dito.
I was going to wear a McAfee jersey on the show,
even though I think grown men wearing other grown men's jerseys is weird.
I was going to do that.
So I had that plan.
I had a whole plan.
I texted Foss people that I was going to ask to be on the show.
He said, check with Pat first.
I checked with you.
I texted a bunch of people.
I saw I was like fired up for it
and then I
listen that's Connor
he's very bored yeah you
there's no way the boys
would let you wear my jersey on here
which I appreciate and respect you
planning ahead
Zeno's the one who sent it to me
see now that
we will have a conversation off air Zeta
we just learned a lot about how you feel
Zito can't be wearing my jersey on here
you know that can't do that enough people
I was asked if there was a pat jersey in the building
okay okay so maybe he was gonna
throw it out or something.
Jesus, I would be getting attacked
miserably for forcing a guy to wear my jersey
on this show.
You cannot have that.
Okay, so just going forward,
I appreciate the...
Exactly, yeah, but I appreciate the forethought.
I would want...
The list of people that you said
you were going to text for the show,
I was so pumped.
I was like, Dan, thank you for looking into this.
Good people.
Great people that we could not get on this show.
Yeah, I'm not going to say it.
I'm not going to say it,
because I don't know what was confirmed
or was not going to find.
That was my first guess
I'm not going to say any of the names that he said
Just a nibble maybe here
Come on
Did play Washington
You were in a commercial with Denzel
I forgot you were an actor
Did play quarterback
I didn't ask Dan anything about it
Do you want to know what I think happened
Pat?
Again I never miss alarms
Like ever ever
So I think
Other than this one
I deserve it all
I deserve it all
I deserve it all
This is what, at least I've justified it in my mind.
You called me, you FaceTime me yesterday, and you were like, what time do you land?
And I said, 9.55, which was the time that I was landing this morning.
And I like, all right, see you there.
And then I went to bed last night, checked in yesterday, I went to bed last night.
And I was like, flights at 6.55.
I don't wake up at 4.50.
I'm going to leave the house at 5.
It'll take 50 minutes to get to LaGuardia
And I'll be on my flight easily
And my flight when I woke up this morning at 4.50
I'm washing my face, brushing my teeth.
Alert comes on the phone, the notification from the Delta app
And I'm like, and I click it and it says,
Departure at 6 o'clock, 6.05 and I'm like, oh, my gosh.
Yeah, fudge.
A lot of fudges, a lot of fudges.
Free, free, free, what am I going to do?
I'm a fudge you make it.
I appreciate you.
And then I was up, obviously, because my body has been in an interesting time zone.
I was waking up at 4.30 in Australia, and now I'm waking up at 4.30 in America.
Figure it out, dude, whatever you're doing.
But you don't mind, you know?
Me and A.J. were texting this morning.
I'm like Mark Wahlberg all of a sudden.
The Rock, A.J. Hawk.
A.J. quickly responded.
Gary V.
True.
All these names.
Dan Rolovsky also had a lot of convoes in a 4 a.m. hour.
I learned that the people who are up in that hour
want everybody else to know
that they're up in that.
That's certainly what it felt like.
That sounds like.
So maybe.
Yeah,
that fits.
It feels like that was kind of.
So maybe I'll be there tomorrow morning, boys.
Just a heads up to everybody that was sending me texts in the floor.
I might see you there.
We'll see how the body reacts to that.
But with that being said,
Dan, all good, legit,
especially because you're on the show the other day
and had so many great takes.
I mean, just absolutely great takes.
So we'll see you down the road
or in the Thunderdome later in the year.
Will you promise to come to the Thunderdome
at some point during the year?
1,000%
that the answer is yes.
I owe it.
I want to, but I owe it.
I feel terrible.
I fudged up, guys.
Maybe make him drive here.
In that, gee.
Yeah.
Top Don.
In December.
Yes.
We could all forgive him to right now
if he says fuck.
You're right.
I've already forgiven him,
but it does sound like the team
would say it's okay
if you just let
one fly.
We're still on ESPN.
Yeah, but it gets bleeped.
Yeah, people hate it.
They really hate it.
Yours just didn't because I heard it.
Well, you're on FaceTime, you dick shit.
We're not getting into.
We're not getting into it.
I forgive, Dan, because of that.
Yeah, I like that as well.
And, Dan, I do appreciate your genuine, like, guilt
that you felt you need to stop feeling that.
It is not that big of a deal.
We do miss you here.
though. We were very excited for you to be here, is what you need to know, and we'll look for
that down the road. Quick question for you. What matchup this weekend, or next weekend,
should we be looking forward to? Obviously, Dallas and Philly on Thursday. Then he got Chief
Chargers on Friday. Is there any other matchups that nobody's talked about? Because all we've
talked about is those first two games. That's literally all we've talked about. I mean, Monday night
football bears Vikings. One team will be going to the Super Bowl and the quarterback will win MVP.
the next one, the team who loses, though, you know, made a massive mistake, you know,
obviously the overreaction. So that's an enormous one. I think the Texans play the Rams
week one. That's got my attention. I think the Texans defensively are going to be
absolutely unbelievable. And then the Rams with Stafford, like I think both of those teams,
everyone knows where I stand on the Rams when it comes to the NFC. The Texans, I guess,
might be a sleeper in some people's eyes, but very much so, the favorite.
in that division.
So that game's got my attention
just because I think both defensive lines
are ridiculous.
Bill's Ravens, I believe,
on Sunday night football.
Lions Palacres.
That one matters a lot too.
Also, I know it's week one.
Better hope the Jets win.
I know it's week one,
but like eventually one of those teams
is probably going to be playing
really big time games
late in the year for the one seat,
you would imagine.
And so, you know,
who's got the advantage
with the head-to-head matchup
with the potential of the
one seed, and you throw Kansas City in there as well, obviously, but like, that game could just
be huge coming to December.
I mean, legitimately, you think about the last week of the year when Minnesota played Detroit,
it was for the number one overall scene in the NFC.
If you happen to stumble a couple early games, you're not in that.
Now, all of a sudden, you go from one seed, not only to five, but maybe to seven, and it's a
completely different path to the Super Bowl.
Every game matters, that's why we're appreciative of it, and every day matters, especially
if that day is one where you get to maybe possibly see Dan Orlovsky in person.
That day was supposed to be today, and I'm not being a day.
But thank God we got you on a call.
AJ, anything you say to Dano on his way out here?
Dano, glad to, I mean, I'm glad you were honest.
I mean, you easily could have lied and said that your plane broke down or something.
You wouldn't get in until 3 p.m.
So I'll credit to you for telling the truth, honestly.
Yeah, kid got sick.
I mean, there could have been so many different.
I'm an honest man.
I'm an honest man.
Good for you.
Honest program.
Good man, good man.
Goes back to what we were saying before.
He is a good man.
Maybe your sounds in haptics, too.
Could be.
That thing turns down.
down on you and the alarm sounds and haptics that'll get you no the alarm went off i just set the
wrong time like that i just had the wrong departure time so honest because sound and hampics
got him because that would have been a real excuse gave me an out all right dana we appreciate you
buddy you're the you're the man i'm sorry dude enough is the last sorry he's in a sack dude do a real
formal sorry then if you're real if you're so sorry you don't have to do that i apologize to you
I apologize to the show.
Ty, Tone, A.J.
Thank you.
Austin, Connor.
My fault, boys.
I love this.
You don't have to.
I let the team down.
I let the team down.
Hey, when they tell you to delete a tweet, you don't got to do it.
When they tell you to apologize like that, you don't got to do it.
You're the man.
Ladies and gentlemen, Dan are loves.
Good, baby, Dan, oh, enjoy your day off.
Jeez.
I don't like that he just immediate went into apology camp as soon as you said,
hey, apologize.
Dan needs to start having a little bit more.
Yeah, he's just, he's just a pot.
We were just playing him like the fiddle right there.
That was for.
I love Dan.
It would have been great to see him.
And it would have been cool to sit back there for an entire show and just judge them.
Yeah.
Which is where I would have been.
I would have been dropping into your guys' ears.
Is this guy serious right now?
If it wasn't for the yesterday thing, I really would want to see it.
Yeah, the yesterday does get uncomfortable every time he says it.
He knows what he's doing.
You think he knows?
You think he knows? He says it?
I don't know. People say that about us with Donno and stuff.
But you know you're saying it.
With you guys, like I wouldn't think that, with like me, sure, because I am usually saying on purpose die because I don't have a Pittsburgh accent.
So you're paying respect.
I'm paying respect.
Oh, my.
Some people would say, I am, I got some Pittsburgh.
Plum Mustangs, by the way, rolling.
Football team, for real.
42.13, I do believe, first week.
Yeah, we won two games last year.
It's going to be a different season.
Okay.
Quarterbacks of stuff.
Yeah, Johnny Donenberg is a dog.
and he's spinning it in the boys of the offensive line,
hey, hey, and the Jumbotron we got, Dactronics.
Beautiful.
Best in the world.
It's the greatest.
I'm telling you, the Paul Mustang football team is a problem this year.
No questions asked.
Game day going?
Maybe.
We will continue this on YouTube, ESPN Plus, TikTok Live,
and we got a conversation with Tommy Fleetwood.
Be a friend, tell us something nice.
It might change your life.
Goodbye.
Nailed it.
Really powered through that one.
That a baby.
Got it.
Every word was really fighting my mouth.
I think you would see it.
It was coming up here, and then it was hitting every tooth.
Boom, man, it was getting out.
It was really cool.
Yeah, that was really cool.
We're talking jump-o-trout trouts.
Dactronics is a real deal.
Oh, yeah.
For real.
Those are top of the line.
They're in a lot.
They got a lot of them.
They just did Plum High School basketball, our gymnasium.
They put one up.
Unbelievable.
It changes everything.
It really does.
We got replays now.
Yeah.
In the football stadium.
So here's that replays?
Football one's the same side.
It's like the same as the Falcon Stadium.
We don't have the phone.
No. No, it's like...
It's actually the same size as the Lucasol Stadium one, though.
Yeah.
It's close.
It is close to the same size as to the one of Lucaso Stadium.
It's really nice.
The Daktronics people are legit.
And they like...
I don't want to say like they cared as if that's some abnormal thing.
But they like...
They genuinely like...
They were very pumped to be a part of the Plum Mustang
renovation project and it's like we appreciate that a lot we're all moustangs here the fund you know
me phil eddie keith trying our best to get back to plumb sports and i'll tell you it's been a lot
and they've been producing hell yeah like really i'm proud of what the world mustangs here fund
did two million bucks giving back to plum high school sports a lot yeah it's been really fun
they'll go a long way they'll go a long way and our teams are getting good like it's like working you know
like you can like actually see it and people are staying committed to sports and stuff like that
as opposed to potentially go another it's like been a lot of fun to be a part of and our football team
actually looks like a big win week one first time ranked in 5a there you go rank 9th hasn't happened
pretty good i sent a text to quarterback john nonenberg means fucking nothing okay being ranked after
week one let's not forget that this means absolutely nothing we got uh-huh uh-huh uh-huh now
Let's be excited.
Okay, definitely a big time win, especially over Franklin Regional.
Okay, they go all money.
Scumbags.
Tone's dad lives in the town.
Is that a rival?
My parents currently reside in Franklin.
That is the area which, but rivalry, very close.
They literally look up the hill.
They are on top of the hill.
We are at bottom of hill.
Like, that is who we're playing against.
And we get a huge win over, like a huge win in their place.
And I think, I think Donneberg, a quarterback's for like 200.
yards in like four tuds or something it's like we got a guy not that friday night we got
offense a line we got a team our defense was pound i mean hold the phone let's go boys got the juice
five a home opener this friday i forgot they have five a's no i think they have six a's no yeah i think
six a in total i think we're five a we were four a which was the max then they doubled or they
opened it up a little bit then we moved to five we got i think we got some big time opponents
come down and pipe we should be enjoying these wins but not we need to keep stacking this right we need to
stacking days when he keeps stacking days for sure uh all right we got a chance to catch up with
the fedex cup champion earlier today a jay did you know that i did know that yeah tom if we would
what i can't wait to see it actually i would what a what a sweet final tournament for this guy
sweet ending of the pga season for him and also his hair looks fantastic like yours hey your hair looks
good it's coming along no Tommy has that legit volume he's got great little he's got some
curls to it like
Tommy's doing things right
we'll get to Tommy
you've shaped yours a little bit here
huh you have I got the bottom trimmed up a little bit
still growing out everything else in the side
it looks good dude starting to get kind of spiky
around the Yamica you can see
very spiky yeah
it is kind of like the Jesus
yeah the crown of thorns yeah
I'm going for
before it starts the fall yeah I got gel
I got gel on the spike
yeah like they cut
remember they cut Tebow's hair that way
He said when he was the Bronx.
Yeah, yeah, the Jefferson, yeah.
All right.
Ladies and gentlemen, we talked to a man with great hair earlier today
and a man who's fresh out of a $10 million payday, Tommy Fleetwood.
Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now, the FedEx Cup champion,
an English lad, and an absolute stud of a man who I think the entire world is a fan of,
and everybody on Earth was happy to see him win $10 million this past weekend.
Ladies and gentlemen, Tommy Fleet.
Congratulations, Tommy on the big time win.
How you feeling, Bub?
Thanks, guys.
I'm good.
I'm good.
Little jet-liked, but we're all good.
It's been a really, really nice few days.
And, like, it's, yeah, it's been a great way to end the year or the season.
Yeah, heading into an off-season with the biggest win of the entire season has to feel good.
And obviously, that is vastly different than previous seasons.
And I know there's probably been a lot of reflection, and I assume there's been a lot of people
asking about what your golf life had been until this big time win, but I'd be remiss if I didn't
bring it up. On Sunday, when you have the three-stroke lead, and everybody on Earth says, hey,
it's Fleetwood's time. Literally, I think LeBron, Caitlin Clark, everybody on Earth is like,
it's Fleetwood's time, we're all pumped for you. What are you thinking about there? Are you like,
holy shit, I could six-put this thing still? Or what is the, yeah? I've got to say, like, yeah,
on the, when I was on that last hole, because I, I think the 15th T-shirt was the one that I really
wanted to get away, like that par three island, you know, that was, that was one that I really
wanted to get over with. But when I was down the 18th, and I was just short, I was just short of
the Green and 2, chipped it on, there was, there was a guy that announced, you know, there's
a voice that announces you onto the 18th Green and he kind of did a really nice announcement
of me, but it sort of, it was like, it sounded like a victory.
announcement, not that he said I was champion, but I was like, well, let's slow down. I've still got, I've still got a go here. And I was like, you, you kind of know it's done, but I was still in this, like, deep mental cocoon of, let's just get, let's just get this one done and let's, and let's finish. So I'd have loved to enjoy it more down the last, but I just wanted to, I just wanted to make sure I finished it off. No, I don't think enjoying it down the end is the right way to get, like, I think it's a complete opposite. I'm happy to hear that you're able to do that. Is that something that you've had to work on?
Is that something you have to deal with?
Because I think everybody on earth knows you're a good golfer.
And because you're such a good golfer, you've been in it so many times.
High pressure moments, maximum pressure moments.
With a golf ball that is so small, sweet spot, so tiny.
You accidentally, I mean, just one little thing could ruin an entire round.
Like, is that locking in in a mental cocoon, something you have to work on on a regular basis?
Or how did you get to this point?
Yeah, well, it's, I mean, it's a lot easier when you're not in contention or
when you, you know, for me, obviously I've had a lot of close calls and especially recently
I've been playing some great golf and getting myself into those positions and then I
hadn't finished it off when I felt like it was my tournament.
So there's definite, it becomes, it becomes harder to put those doubts which are, you know,
very real, like, you know, all your feelings, they're completely real, but they are just
feelings.
So you just have to work on trying to make them into a positive.
way. But those doubts creep in, and that's when you've really got to be strong and just
continue to put yourself in those situations. And I always felt like eventually it's going to be
my time and it's going to happen. You know, did I expect it to be this one? Maybe not, but
you know, I play great. And I think, yeah, I just, I've worked really hard mentally to just keep
myself in the best frame of mind and make sure I kept giving myself the opportunities until it did
come. I think we all thought you were eventually going to win.
I think that was just kind of like how the world thought.
And that's why there was so much intrigue down a stretch there on Sunday
because we were so excited.
And we just watched you, you know, take your hat off
and showcase those beautiful pearly whites there.
Was there a moment of vindication?
Was there a 10,000 pounds lifted off of you there?
Did you go home at night, look in the mirror
and have any different conversations with yourself, with your family?
Is there any of those types of moments that maybe we don't get to see
that's happening in between your ears?
there's definitely relief and a lot of satisfaction
like I'm so satisfied with all the work that
like I put in day and day out and for it to be rewarded
I feel like it's
like I feel like it's been rewarded with
I feel like it's been rewarded with a lot of good play
I feel like it's been rewarded by getting up there all the time
but at the same time you know you
like I've always said I want to win
like multiple times I want to win plenty
It's not really about winning just one,
but you can't do the rest without winning the first one.
And I'm so glad to have got over that hurdle,
and hopefully it doesn't take me 164 times to win my next one.
Yeah, you broke the seal, brother.
You broke the seal.
Now they're just going to start pouring in.
I couldn't fathom, honestly,
the amount of pressure you're probably putting on yourself
every single time and the amount of relief.
But also, I hope there's a sense of pride in there
that you fought through all that shit.
You did something remarkable,
and your story touched everybody in sports.
Now, on that note, it's a lot of money, brother.
Connor has a question for you.
Yeah, Tommy, it's an honor.
Your flow, by the way, let me just say.
Best on the tour.
Yeah, that's got to be.
Yeah, it's looking good today.
Yeah, got to be a nice feeling.
I know it took a while, but at least you had that hair the whole entire time with that win.
$10 million.
I mean, nothing to sneeze out.
Probably pretty nice seeing that paycheck come through after a victory.
Did you have anything in mind specifically that you wanted to buy?
that you were thinking of, kind of almost motivating you.
Maybe a Bentley, maybe some sort of Aston Martin vehicle.
I don't know what they do over there in England.
Bangers and Mash.
Perhaps a nice hearty helping of that, maybe.
Maybe by Big Ben.
Yeah, sure.
It's the whole fucking clock.
Get a clock.
Yeah, that'd be cool.
Was there anything?
Big Ben, I'll probably need a few more FedEx Cucks for that.
Well, let's get to it.
Yeah, more than one way.
You just said it.
You just said it.
Do you know what, no, I haven't.
had anything particular in mind and actually the thought of winning the FedEx Cup or 10 million
dollar check had never really entered my mind but if you're going to do it if you're going
to crescendo and finish this chapter with one then that's a great one to do it but we'll
think about that another time for the time being it's been like you know sitting here sort of very
satisfied very relieved and kind of processing it all and then we'll think of a few things
we'll think of ideas.
If you've got anything, let me know.
So we just ran off a bunch.
We ran off a bunch.
James Bond car.
Bingo.
Any of these things are possible.
Yeah.
Yeah, maybe.
Batmobile.
Fucking old pals.
There you go.
Joe Burro already bought one, allegedly.
No, Joe Borough didn't buy it.
Did he?
I think he gave it back.
Yeah, it's a lie.
Yeah, allegedly it was a lie.
But he's a football player,
so we don't want to talk negative about him.
What the hell?
I appreciate the fact, though,
that in golf,
you guys aren't promised anything.
you know we've learned that through the development of live and whenever live started
then they start chitchhating about what a pGA contract is and it's like you're not guaranteed
any money at all you have to earn it earn it earn it and then your guys is schedule just crazy
one after another oh we got uh pro ams happening on wednesday Thursday hopefully we're making
it to the weekend you have on very regular basis made it the made the cut made the weekend then
you're back on the road what does life look like now that the seasons kind of come to an end do you
do you work to get like what do you do now that you can breathe for a little bit because your guys
this season after watching that super swing full swing yeah full swing is absurd you guys are rock
stars you guys are living on the road for a very long time yeah well for me um i play the tour over in
europe as well so i've probably still got um five or six events left uh until december
December will be my time to sort of shut it down
and have some time off then
But I've got the Rider Cup coming up
So that's in, what's that?
Three weeks time, a month's time
I've got one event before that
So actually, you know, right now
It's like I'm having a week
I'm having a week at home
Just chilling, just enjoying it
And then I'll actually get straight back to work
And practicing for the next event
So there's always something going on
I think that was the great
Like for us, like European players
that play both tours, like they're changing the way that the format works in the schedule
where we're finished in August and we don't start until January. That's a nice time for us then
to play. We can play like a bunch on the tour that I, you know, grew up on essentially. So
it kind of fits really well, but it does it does mean that we don't get that much time off.
Got to be a good cock of the walk over there, fresh off the FedEx Cup champion, you know.
Good enough saying that mental cocoon, everybody's going to be gassing your ass up.
On that.
No, I'll be, I'll be cocooning, yeah, I'll be cocooning.
Yeah, that's why I was saying that mental cocoon over that.
On that note, there's somebody that's with you very close in this sport that I think is different than anywhere else.
Go ahead, Ty.
Yeah, Tommy, how important is the relationship with your caddy?
I feel like this year specifically, we've seen stories of guys changing caddies so often.
We're in years past.
The only time you really heard about that was if, like, Tiger changes caddy, and it was a big deal.
But when you are in a position that you've been in and you've gotten close so many times,
Like, how important is that relationship to have someone really steady on the bag with you
who kind of knows exactly what you need to hear at all times?
Yeah, of course, and me and Finno, my caddy were very close.
We've known each of the such a long time.
He's now been on my bag for a long time.
And I think just at a human level, like, he's going to have had doubts as well,
like the times that we've not quite got it right or we've got it wrong.
But I think me personally, I've always wanted to focus on the amount of positives that there's been
and you just look for those little tweaks
that eventually get you over the line
without sort of drastically changing things.
Yeah, there's been quite a lot of caddy changes this year
and I think probably once it happens once
and maybe somebody's had success
like they've changed caddies
because things do, you know,
people want something fresh every now and again
and it definitely like re-energizes.
So I think, and then once somebody's seen it
be a success once, then of course,
like somebody else's going to try it and then somebody else will try it.
So it does, it goes in cycles like that a little bit.
But yeah, for me,
And Finnell, I think, especially this latter part of the season,
it was just important that we continued to learn from anything that we didn't quite get right
or any mistakes that we might have made.
And then when we're in that situation again, you know, you just put all those things right
or you put them to the forefront of your mind and you keep pressing forward.
And this was the time that it did happen for us.
So, you know, I'm a big believer in, like, consistency, like minor tweaks.
And, you know, this one's paid off.
So that's been nice for us, both.
I need to make more putts, talking.
I need to make more putts, okay?
Are we going on a practice session now?
What are we got?
You've got to take the head cover off at first.
It's not about the head cover, okay?
It's about the stroke.
Are you putting at your house?
You're saying this week, you're going to have a week.
I assume you and the family are going to have a good time.
Enjoy it.
Hell yeah.
Enjoy it.
I hope you have a blast.
Everybody over there has earned it.
Obviously, it's been a lot of dedication from all parties.
I understand how that goes.
but are you like waking up in the morning at the house, 100 puts?
Like they talk about basketball players.
We're doing a thousand shots a day before we go to bed.
For you guys, it feels like the separator between the great and the good golfers is 100 yards
and in, more specifically on the green.
Are you, is it like 100, like this week, do you just wake up and just start burying
putts?
Like how does it work with what you focus on and when you focus on things?
No, I'll have a pretty good,
like structured practice routine i think um you know for us in golf there's so many different
aspects and so many different elements that you're always trying to cover like you can never
like there's no way that you could i mean you can't hit every
shot that you're going to get in golf even in a you know in a week's worth of practice if you did
it hours and on every day so there's always you have to really sort of
focus on certain points and be consistent with them and work your game around them
uh but you know definitely for us you've got put in short game long game
and then physical and you've got
these elements and then at any given time
you'll structure your day around them
but no there's not been
I've actually hit a few puts with my little one
he's still he's still grinding away
and he still wants to practice so I've been hitting a few puts
with him this week but nothing
nothing major how old is he
he turns eight next month
God he's so much better than I am
just absolute dog
I assume now what I hope you do
is take off the next two and a half weeks
you won the FedEx Cup championship
you don't need to practice anything
maybe you should start playing fucking lefty
and on that note
AP Tony is a question for you
yep Tommy we were all very very
super happy for you on Sunday
getting that win and I hope you know that
because over the next month you are
the enemy
USA
USA
USA sorry sorry you are the enemy
you are coming back obviously
to the USA for the Ryder Cup
um what's it like going to be at beth page as someone on the european team do you like being the
away team in that atmosphere and just overall what's the environment like for someone that has
never been to a rider cup well i think i think it's it's the most amazing thing for us
about the rider cup is because like we play an individual sport and uh week in week out you get
supported as an individual but the crowd like they're there are appreciating golf and they
support whoever's there whereas the
Rider Cup for us is our
that's our time to experience what it's like to have
an unbelievably biased crowd
both home and away
I think we're all really excited
for the atmosphere that's going to be a best page
it's going to be this is what like dreams
they're about we've dreamt of playing this
tournament all our lives in making
this team and the crowd just play such
a huge part in that so
home or away I think that's massive
and we are excited we don't expect anything other
than you know
the home fans to cheer for the home team, of course.
But we're really, really excited and looking forward to it, and we'll see.
It's going to be great.
I'm excited to go there as, you know, our team and play against not only the 12 other guys on the team, but the nation as well.
And just enjoy it.
Like I say, this is what we've been dreaming of, you know, playing in these things since we were kids, taking at the game.
And, like, I'm just really excited to play in that atmosphere.
You scared to death that Keegan's going to play or no?
What are you with us?
I know there's a lot of debate, isn't there?
I think as I'm, I feel a little bit out of the loop.
I don't know when he makes his picks or when he's when he's made the piece.
Don't you worry about our team, actually.
Yeah, I don't even know why I asked me.
Yeah, I know.
That's right.
Did you not hear me?
I don't know why I even asked.
I was in the middle of it.
How's your guys team chemistry?
You guys have a couple pints or what is, do you guys hang out?
Are we trying to, are we motivationally speaking to each other in the morning?
and at night are we hanging out in the locker room is there a sense you said you know your
individual sports do you try to do as much team activity because for us like camaraderies
build a training camp and like you try to come together and i know golf is one-on-one-on-one but it does
feel like it's you versus the world out there do you guys do a lot of team shit and is there like
a group text how do we kind of how do we figure it out uh you don't worry about our team
we're good congrats on winning the fedex
Cup Championship. I wish you nothing but failure in a few weeks at the Rider Cup. But
immediately after that, we're right back on the flip. We're back. We're back. We appreciate
the hell out of your time. I could accept that. I could accept that. Congrats, dude. It was fun to
watch. Thank you very much. That's awesome. Thanks for having me, guys. It's great to see you.
I want you to know, though, like we all sent or all felt like an immediate sense of like
happiness and joy for you. Everybody in the sports world. That's very abnormal. That's very
abnormal in sports world. People want to hate people
especially if they're successful. People
want to tear people down. As soon as you won
everybody in sports from all
different walks of life for like
good on you. You know, like
legit. So fair play, lad.
I think you should feel very good and we're
pumped that you joined us.
It's been awesome. Thank you so much
to everyone. Cheers.
Have a couple of points on us.
How many, by the way? Yeah, how many pines
fit in the FedEx Cup?
I haven't tried it. Yeah, I didn't
I didn't get to put a pint in it, but there'll be a few.
Probably like, I don't know, three or four.
All right, right, right, right, right, right, all right, right.
All right, we appreciate you.
Ladies and gentlemen, FedEx Cup champion.
And the man who's about to just dominate the European tour, I guess, again, Tommy Fleawood.
Yeah, Tommy.
How about it, Tommy.
Good moxia, Tommy.
Yeah, great box.
We're all happy for him, AJ.
That was something I, uh, I tried to tell him, like, five different times because it was,
I wanted him to understand, like, that is abnormal, you know?
I don't really know how often maybe around the Olympics somebody will come around and like bolt I think everybody wanted Usain bolt to win even American people want him to win whenever he was first doing his thing maybe Phelps whenever he was rolling I don't know how many just like sport I guess I wonder if that's like a United States thing too like I'm sure other countries weren't jacked up to see Michael Phelps win gold medals I feel like we got behind a couple people that weren't from the United States.
Well, then how about bolt?
So we'll say bolt then.
Yeah, I think that's probably a safe one.
But you're right.
Because I felt like the world was like, hey, this is, we have a human that is faster than humans have ever been.
I think we're all bowling for it.
Serena, maybe?
Yeah, Serena, a little different, but I feel like when Stafford won a Super Bowl, everyone was happy for Stafford.
There was a lot of people in Detroit that weren't.
Okay, I thought the Detroit people were still cheering him on.
I mean, a majority were.
Dude, 30 top fives.
We've seen that guy on Sunday a lot.
Yeah.
Yes.
We've seen his name on the least.
Peterboard a lot. Like, he is very known. And then it's like, not going to get it done.
That was just always, and we're always so bummed for him. Like, ah, man, yep, got a double on 14.
It's over for Tommy. See you later. Tommy. You're on your way out. For him to finish.
And I asked him about that mindset on 18, you know, because in the way I worded it was certainly
something, but it's real. Like, you can six put, I've seen, I've watched on Sundays where
some guy that I've never seen before
is about to win. And like if he
misses this, it goes to a playoff, and
it's a two and a half footer or something.
And it's like, could you imagine just
rimming that out? And then
it's another two feet. Yeah.
And it's like, well, if you miss this, there's not
even a playoff. You actually come in second place. Somebody else wins.
It's like you can definitely miss. There's a lot
of spots for that ball to roll
to, especially with how small it is.
It's like, that's why it's so hard to win.
That's why Scotty Sheffler,
outrageous. Tiger Woods, outrageous.
everybody that was kind of on those runs
Jack way back in the day, outrageous.
Whenever people were on those runs in golf,
it's so fickle,
because that shit can just vanish.
And it did to a lot of stars.
And it's like Tommy Fleetwood,
I think he should be considered one of the greats.
30 top fives is fucking outrageous.
I mean, he's up in there.
I was just looking back.
He's been at least in the top 15 in the world since 2022.
That's as far as I could go back.
So he's been a top 15 golfer for the last four years,
three, four years or whatever.
At least, I couldn't go back by right.
never been able to give a happy speech no no never been able to be like yeah i won you know that's
crazy for him mentally a j and it has to feel so good now for that to happen you know well it's such a
solo sport so each time that you get there and you get in contention then you fall you know something
happens on sunday either maybe you don't even you don't even fall apart maybe someone in front of you
jumps out there and finishes eagle eagle birdie or something so yeah the fact like each tournament where
you go oh here we go awesome another top five and i can't find a way to finish this and win it but
I think you're right.
Like he may have taken the lid off.
He may have figured it out.
Now, I cannot imagine the confidence this guy has to have.
I mean, at least you can lean on it in the biggest tournament with the biggest prize.
$10 million I was able to finish.
It's like at least you have that in the back of your head.
But every time is, you know, situations are situational.
That's right.
I mean, that is reality.
It's like how he wakes up on a future Sunday will be the same as how he felt this past Sunday
when he won the biggest prize in the sport.
I'm not 100%.
I mean, nuts.
Congrats to him.
he goes right into the European tour he has seven wins on a European tour thus far goes right into that
actually get an opportunity now to play eight more tournaments because the way it is like this guy loves ball
yeah yeah i went back he's been in the top 25 since 2017 basically and has never one of the
great golfer this guy is a great golfer and we like even his friends and family probably weren't
even able to really celebrate him you know and it's then he wins one and it's like all his friends and
family that have been by him, they were like, we told you he was a guy.
Like, always told you he had it in him. And then he does it. It's like, good for you, dude.
That's what we've, we've seen this like a couple times now, but when you see the guys on tour
who are, who stay and wait, like when he's on 18 there because they know he's about to win
and they want to congratulate him. Like, it's almost like those guys wanted him to win more
than like they wanted to win the tournament. When they saw that, like, he was in position,
it's like, you know what? Fuck this. Like, it's Tommy's time. We've got to be there for him.
And that especially, I feel like never happens.
Good for you, Tommy.
Hell, yeah.
Happy for him.
He was cool.
Great chat earlier this morning.
He saves a little jet lag day.
Big Ben's going to cost more than 10 million, boys.
That's a bummer.
He's made a lot more than 10 million.
Once again, great golfer.
Great golfer.
Speaking of great golfers,
AJ, you've won in a golf tournament before, right?
No, I don't believe I've ever won in a golf tournament.
No.
I introduce you as a Ryder Cup winning.
winner. I guess I've won my match with Rob Riggle. We won our match in a tournament, yes.
You've won in a tournament, right? Yep, correct. And save the life. Let's go. And as a part of
or saw somebody pass away on Kelly Slater. I saw Kelly Slater save a life, yeah. Shout out.
What a crazy shout to shouts Kelly Slater. Surfer, right? Yeah. And Malfoy. And Lifesaver,
actually on a golf course at Rider Cup, which leads to the Ryder Cup team. We put up on there pretty big.
like hey this was recorded 10 minutes before yeah actually 10 minutes before the writer cup
teams were announced that's on us but also scheduling wise the only time we could talk to
to tommy we got good team age kegan bradley did not select himself as a captain's pick to compete
alongside the boys on the course he would just be leading a group of studs into action in new york
we told tommy that he needs to suck in this for the good of the united states of america feels
like he's pretty locked in on them winning what are your thoughts on the team and just
the Ryder Cup buzz here starting to really build.
Man, I can't wait.
Like, honestly, like, watching the Ryder Cup is great.
It happens during football season, so it's kind of weird.
I remember being in, like, Saturday meetings in our, my linebacker coach, putting it on
the screen on mute while we're having, like, our post-practice meetings to see what's
going on with the Ryder Cup.
But I know Keegan didn't name him.
So I wish Keegan would have played.
I think he should have just done it.
Why not?
We would love to see Keegan play.
But who were here, like, who was the first and second out?
Like, who would be the alternates?
Do we know who was pissed off?
Sam Burns, I think, was the last one.
one in if I had to guess. Go ahead, Tone.
Yeah, him and then Colin Moracawa
was a lot of the talk, even though
Colin Morcawa has been one of the best
U.S. golfers for the last five years or whatever,
but this hasn't been his best season, but he's
performed so well in Ryder Cup.
Keegan said that
they brought him on, but so Moracawa and
San Bernard's were, yeah, too, the last ones that were
I'm a Keegan attic.
Yeah, you are. Yeah, you are.
Yeah, you are. Knoted.
Who was on the edge that just got left off? Do we know?
Oh, that way? Kegan.
Yeah. Yeah. Other than Kegan. Yeah, I mean, he left
himself off. Yeah, Keegan Bradley, I think
who's this year's Bama and Ole Miss
and South Carolina.
Yeah, I haven't seen their fan bases putting out
a lot of stuff yet to... Yeah, we have to
we'll go on next to see who's pissed.
Yeah. But we want to let them know we're pissed
too. There's only certain amount of players
there are allowed to be on the Ryder Cup team, though.
That's right. Maybe next time you can play a little
bit better at the beginning of the season. Get those
points up. Get in. Because we need
on Team America, especially if we lose.
And Keegan knows that if he loses
here, he's going to be judged because of it.
Kagan's a New Englander.
Oh, it takes a lot of pride in that.
Amen.
Being a professional golfer from New England.
Not a lot of warm weather up there.
A lot of golfers you hear about might be from the north, but they move immediately to the south.
Why?
So we can golf, I don't know, for the other eight months of the year when we can't golf in the north.
So very rarely do you hear about northern golfers succeeding in having a big time, big time golf career?
Keegan Bradley has been that guy from New England.
Now he's got to go to New York and lead a team.
Hell yeah.
Let's go win.
Come on, Key.
In the middle of football season.
It would be great if it was right before football season.
Right now.
Minus 1.30.
Okay.
Who's the other captain?
Of USA or Europe.
We're not talking about Europe.
They don't have a captain.
You're right.
It's about us.
Tommy told us not to talk about his team.
And right after I asked him and talk about our team, I told him not to talk about our team.
That's right.
I told him right through his face, too.
He handled it well.
Nameless face.
Shout Donnie Baker.
I said right to his voice.
State law.
Rest in peace.
I cannot believe that.
The world missed out on Donnie Baker.
I was going to say he was about as big as there was in terms of the radio personality.
Yeah, he set your watch to see in one of his videos, you know, on Facebook back in the day.
What he would have done, TikTok?
Oh, God.
Oh, my God, Donnie Baker on TikTok.
state law would have been rest in peace Tony that was always really cool to me
he was like five different people yeah he was five different characters it was
unbelievable Tony from sopranos too him just breathing heavily he would call into
Bob and Tom radio we're talking about a character from Bob and Tom radio show
this guy was five different characters he would call into
Bob and Tom. His Tony Supraano was him just heavy breathing into it, which goes against like
everything about radio. Like, hey, that is not what anybody wants to hear. But then he would drop in
this New Jersey accent, Italian accent in the middle. He was a talent, that guy. Fucking talent.
Loved baseball. Coach baseball down in Florida, I think. I love baseball. I got to know him.
They passed away. It's like, man, perspective. Life comes, life goes. To try to enjoy it all.
You know, life is very fickle.
You have to enjoy it all.
You have no idea what's coming tomorrow.
No clue.
All we know is we got football very soon.
So soon.
And we made it.
Yeah, we did it.
Hell yeah.
Go football.
We did it.
As we wrap up today, I think it would only be proper for us to do the news.
To do that, please welcome the man who's going to inform the world of things that we need to know about
that are happening around this sports empire.
in
on this particular
Not a Nutter Wednesday
Yeah
It's hard to get to
Yeah, it is
But when you get there
It's hard to
Worth it every time
Yeah, it's hard
With the English language
It's hard to get to
Not Another Wednesday
You know in there
But nonetheless
Here's the news
That you need to know
On Not Another Wednesday
From our friend
Boston Connor
Hey, hey, good to have you back
man, this has been much
much more fun
I'm sure you've heard a lot of things
about the shows
The last two weeks
Good thing
They fucking sucked for us.
It's very nice to see you across the stage.
Last QB battle of camp, Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shuck.
Spencer Rattler wins.
He will be the starting QB for Kelmores, New Orleans Saints.
Tyler Shuck was the starter, remember?
Because why didn't they draft Shadour if they were going to draft the starter?
They didn't draft Tyler Shuck until later in there.
Spencer Rattler played a little bit last year, Lottomoxie.
Remember him from literally high school, elite 11 camps.
Now he's getting an opportunity to be a starter in Kellynmore.
offense in this brand new
New Orleans Saints team. I think if you listen
to the defensive players of the New Orleans Saints
talk about Kellan Moore and what he's doing down there,
they have a lot of faith, even though nobody
has had any faith in the New Orleans Saints
his off season. What's their over under?
They believe it's four and a half. Okay, so
not a lot of expectations by anybody.
Spencer Rattler gets the job. That might
be a right place to be, though. That might be a good time
to get to starting job. Yeah, what an opportunity
with no expectations really placed on your
team. The overrunner's four.
I mean, let's go get eight victories and be
hero, Spencer Rowley. And earn a hell
of a contract. And by hell of a contract, I'm not talking
$65 million a year. Maybe. I mean, shit.
You never know. If you go from four and a half over
under to winning a Super Bowl, you
probably get a lot of money.
But we're talking about like good
second contract, starter,
maybe Phil Gap type of person.
20 million. Baker Mayfield,
Jared Gough, then you become
start. Like, this is huge.
Anytime you get a chance to play
as a quarterback.
it is huge, which is why that whole conversation
about Shador and them setting
out for failure and why is he starting
without the ones out there? It's like, well, he's not starting
quarterback, and he's getting an opportunity to play.
This is a huge ordeal, like for everybody
out there. Well, he's not getting a fair shake
because they're not using this. It's like that
they never, that's never happened.
That is not, that's not reality.
He's talking about humans and also injuries
and everything, like actual teams that have to worry about
what they're doing. And it's like, I appreciate
the way Shador has handled it. Everybody
around Shador. Yeah.
Shador has been very, he's tried to stay above it, complimenting teammates, talking about Joe Flacco, his relationship with him, feels like the boys like him.
It's like there's been so much shit around him, which is going to happen forever.
He's Coach Prime's son.
I mean, that's just the way it is.
They obviously have drummed it up as well with their reality TV show business, which is kind of what their social media is.
It's just a reality TV show.
They've been documenting everything that they've been doing for a long time.
So there's a lot of energy and a lot of focus on Shador, no matter what he does.
in the conversation around him like why is he playing he shouldn't be playing they're trying
to screw he has stayed above at all the entire time i respect and appreciate that a j legit i
he handles it well i think so too i heard i heard dion explaining his presser about
shiloh getting released and dion just talking about i'll prepare my kids for every possible
scenario like it was cool to hear how dion was talking like his kids and not like the all doom
and gloom dion's a very positive guy but yeah i feel like these guys can bounce back and shador
has handled it very well i feel like that eventually
he'll be on the field at some point this year right we assume very committed father coach prime nobody
talks about yeah everybody ever said nobody who talks about how committed as a father he is and then
as a coach accountability and like he even though hey yeah we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna love
motherfuckers know we're good like we are not scared to do that but the only reason why we can do that
is because of everything else he's changing a lot of lives man and uh shadore just watching him
operate in this whole thing he could have numerous times try to take the clout way like there's
There's a lot of, everybody's saying that he's doing the shit for show and for Cloud.
It's like he could have, he could have numerous times given answers that would have drawn headlines and stirred up shit and threw gas onto a fire that was already happening and has not done that.
So it's, that doesn't really get talked about with Shador, I don't think.
And I think that's a plus side.
I don't think he should be a starting quarterback of Cleveland Browns.
No.
I don't think everybody should be burying Joe Flacco.
Joe Flacco took this team the fucking playoffs two years ago.
Like knows the offense.
Yeah, but he's old.
It's like, there's a lot of old fucking quarterback.
You know, there's a lot of old quarterback.
in the NFL. You know why they're old and still in the NFL? Because they know what the fuck
they're doing. Like that is. So I don't like the slander that has been thrown at Joey Flacco.
Like, I don't love that. But I assume Flacco doesn't give a shit about any of it. And I like
the way Shador's handle it. It's like they have a lot going on over there in that particular
room. They have not been a very successful franchise. There's a lot of shit outside of it.
But if they're able to navigate this and with the way the leadership is seemingly operating,
it's like good good for the Cleveland Browns for how loud it's been outside of it
yeah and part of the you know do the news also is Dylan Gabriel who has handled this
very well because amazing no one talking about him he was announced as the official backup
and Chador will be the third string which people had thoughts about but typically if
somebody gets drafted in the third round and another guy gets drafted in the fifth
round at the same position that third rounder is typically above him on the depth track
well I'm probably going to get a little bit more opportunity as well and he looked good
with the opportunities he was given.
And also, that goes for if you're the second overall pick
or like a fourth round pick or a third round pick.
All the way down.
Yeah, it's like there's, because that's how much money they invest in you.
That is what they've invested in you.
So if you're not getting paid a lot of money, I think in any job,
you should understand that they do not have a lot of investment in you.
So that probably makes it easier for them to move on from you.
If they're paying you a lot of money, they have investment in you.
So they are looking for you to succeed because that makes them feel good, right?
Because they invested a lot of money.
But also, they're looking for you to succeed because they are the ones that believed in you.
So, like, there's a lot of that type of stuff that happens with the draft.
Now, is that fair?
I think the teams would say, yeah, a third rounder is worth a lot more than a fifth rounder.
Have you seen any of the trades that happened?
Do you know what a fifth rounder is worth?
Do you know what a third rounder is worth?
Do you know what a first rounder is worth?
So, like, this is just a reality of what the business is,
and none of us expect it should order.
fall to fifth round. None of us, but the NFL
did. All 32 teams
numerous times, let him fall.
Are we saying that's accurate?
No, but the reality is he's
worth a fifth rounder to the Cleveland Browns.
Dylan Gabriel is worth a third rounder
to the Cleveland Browns.
And the fact that Dylan Gabriel
has, you're right, stayed above it all as well,
when he could have easily turned the other way.
Shador, same thing. Kenny Pickett,
same thing. Joe Flacko,
same thing. All of them. I think
handled this very, very, very well, very, very
well. But that whole
yeah, I mean
I got respect for a lot of people.
I respect for a lot of people. They wanted Kevin
Stavans to get fired.
There was just a lot of things.
I was just reading on them. I'm like,
so they want the number one offensive
line out there in the third preseason
game with a
fifth round, rook. When would that
ever happen? When would that ever happen?
Never. That would have never happened.
And like, you think Shador's happy about it?
No, he would like to have the best offensive line, but
Shador fucking knows.
They're not going to roll out the number one for the third.
You know how much money they got invested in that?
Once again, back to investment.
This is a business.
And having Shador on the Browns is good for their business.
A lot of attention on them.
And if Shador turns into the player that we all think and hope he can become,
that would be great business for the Cleveland Browns.
And the investment would be gigantic.
But it's like right now the way they're viewing is like our starting quarterback is Joe Flacco.
Joe Flacco took us to the playoffs two years ago.
Joe Flacko and us did something that not a lot of Cleveland Browns teams have done in the last 100 years.
So I think so much conjecture, but I think the way Shador's handled it is cool.
It's not a story that's being talked about.
I like the way he's operated.
And just like we forget what we were saying about that Browns team when they did go to the playoffs.
They were going to Houston and everybody thought that the Browns were going to beat the shit out of C.J. Stroud, his rookie year in Houston in the playoffs.
It's like everybody was so high on Cleveland.
And Joe was hired mid-season off the catch.
He beat a dead guy in the comeback player of the year.
It's true.
He beat him.
Tomar Hamlin.
To Mar-Hamlin.
Yeah.
Think about it.
He defeated all odds.
Debar Hamlin was like minus 300 to win comeback player of the year at the beginning of the season.
What did they say, though, it was for on-field performance, right?
That has since been changed.
Yeah, and then they change the flak rule.
Hey, you can't come off the couch and win comeback player in the year anymore.
It can actually be hurt.
If a guy passes away on the field in front of all of us, he's probably going to...
Yeah.
Can't have this happen again.
I like Joe Flacko.
I liked him when he was here.
It didn't work at all.
He was not good here with the Colts.
He got a raw deal.
Didn't seem like they were set up for success.
No.
Still doesn't.
They are now.
You don't know?
No, I don't know.
I do not.
Dimes has been slinging.
I'm thinking about that with every team.
I don't like the way the new Colts Generation fans, too, the ones that it
attacked me for pointing out everything that was accurate about the team last year. Now,
they all attacked me last year. They are now attacking everything about the Colts and going after
them. And it's like, everybody has said the same thing, basically. And it's like, to be a
quarterback is a lot of things. Like, it's a lot of things. It's a very, there's only 32 of these jobs.
So it's like, is Danny Don the guy that's going to lead us, both on the field, off the field,
set an exam, do all the shit that comes with people?
being a starter. I assume that is what they are saying. Because if you listen to the coaches
and the way they talk about it, that's basically what it is. It's like, this guy is suited
to be the face of a franchise right now. And it's like, is he exactly what? No. I mean,
this wasn't the guy we drafted number four overall. But they also have said they're not giving up
on Anthony still. Like Anthony gets hurt and then he's like out of the building. So I don't even
think he's really gotten a chance to like see how you're potentially supposed to kind of do it for
over three-year period now. So it's like, I still think Anthony Richardson, I was a believer
coming in. I was like, everything we've heard about the offseason, here we go, this is going to be
it. And then you just start, you know, kind of hearing stuff. And it's like, oh, they're going to
go with Danny Dimes because of everything that we kind of potentially were thinking in years past.
He's very young, hasn't played a lot of football. I don't think he completely understands how
important it is to be the quarterback of an NFL team, strictly because throughout his entire life,
he's been able to show up and just dominate everybody.
And that's because he is so talented.
So it's outrageous how much talent Anthony Richardson has.
So much fun to watch him do his thing.
But it's like in the NFL, everybody has talent.
And you're talking about generations of talents.
Like two generations ahead of you are still playing in the NFL.
Those guys had fucking talent.
They're still playing.
It's like everybody has a lot of talent.
He's certainly a lot more God-given ability and everything like that
than anybody I've ever seen.
I mean, Cam Newton is the only real comparison or conversation.
Josh Allen, I guess, as well, is a conversation there, but there's only been a few of those guys.
Everything else, though, takes, like, you live it.
That's what has to happen if you want to really make it.
And it's like, maybe he's not there yet.
He's going to have to play this year, we assume.
Shane Snyckin's offense, Danny Dimes is going to be running.
He might get hurt.
Danny Dimes runs very well.
He's a bull.
Nobody really talks about that.
He runs very well.
Everybody remembers him tripping.
Well, do you know, in tripping, he was on a six.
65-yard run that he was pulling away from people.
Danny Dimes over yardage run rushing yards bet, safe bet basically every game
because everybody sees Danny Dimes, they go, look that nerd, he can't fucking run.
And then, yes, he can.
But with that, it's going to come something, and Anthony's going to get to play again.
And hopefully, you know, hopefully it's the time.
Riley Leonard also.
Yeah.
He looked good.
Don't look down.
He put a 40 against the Bengals.
Yeah.
And also, did you see a touch pass over the middle over the lineback in front of the safety?
It's like, oh, I didn't know Riley Leonard.
I didn't know Riley Leonard could do that.
I thought Riley Leonard was like a couple years here.
We're going to have to fucking figure out how to make these.
And it's like I start seeing some throws.
And I'm like, that's against fourth stringers.
But he's playing with four stringers too.
And he just fucking seated that.
The throw itself.
I didn't know Riley Leonard.
I didn't know that was in there.
He's so athletic.
He's talking about being able to run.
Danny Dives.
I mean, you can see it.
And he's tall.
Duke.
Coults.
Dukes.
Definitely.
That is a definite.
That's not true anymore, actually.
Why is that?
Because you guys picked up Danich.
Yeah.
We didn't pick up Danuch.
Who'd you pick up?
Danuch couldn't hold Tommy Cutlitz's jock.
You picked up Davido.
Yeah, that's right.
I thought you got Danut.
You got Davido.
We got DeVito.
And funny enough, when it happens, I felt something in my soul.
I could like, my hair almost slicked back a little more.
my armpits almost smelt
a little worse. My entire
body just, it felt like I wanted pizza a little more.
I honestly think I might
have become Italian since the Patriots
got Tommy DeVito. I can kind of
You do. I can tell you
you didn't. You can see it. No, you don't look natural doing that at all.
Isn't that what the guy does?
You're not Tony Soprano. Pretty good, right?
No, he would also then have
full accent here.
Yeah, exactly.
Like,
uh,
fucking,
fucking gababoole.
So,
you're getting close.
Pretty good.
It might be a little
that's not it.
No,
you don't need to do that.
So Tommy Davido is now
part of the Patriots.
Yeah,
Vrabel saw him and he said,
I need,
I need cutlets.
I need Stalado in my building.
You know how they're going to get
all the rads out of the building?
Stalado's going to walk around
with a shotgun.
Oh my God.
He does.
say there's rats in here and then he brings in fucking
Tom's DeVos. Yeah, that's only one way
to sniff him out, bringing the Cutlets family.
Bring those noses into the facility
and let's have him going office to office.
You said something there. What I was
alluding to is they were going to take a ride. Oh, buddy was going to be
sitting shot by there. He was going to be sitting
back right side. Yeah, yeah.
You know why they just did not stop having
a mafia up in Boston? That's unbelievable
to think about it. There's rats
everywhere in this building. And fucking bring
me the most Italian Italian.
Caughtlets gets the lot on the line now.
find him. Fucking, where are they?
We got loose lips around here.
Need you to find him. Stolato, also
a mass guy, by the way. Stolato grew up
in Massachusetts. That's also a preseason matter
because he went like 16 of 20 against
the Patriots in their final preseason game.
Also with the O line where I think most
the O line got cut, but that's for a different day.
So, you know, those preseason games
do count. Everybody's watching. Yeah, especially
on the other side of the field.
Darren Waller got signed.
He was on the Ravens. John
Gruden was with the Raiders. Sees
him do is pre-workout warm-up. What is that, man? Yeah. That's Darren Waller. He's a raider.
Can you catch? Can you do? Yeah, I could. Sweet. You got a spot for you. Then he becomes all pro
in that entire thing. It's like, you never know who's watching. That's why every opportunity is such a big
deal. Like, don't push your door out. It's like, that's a fucking big deal. A lot of teams that maybe
didn't know if he could operate in the NFL with NFL defenses that might be a little bit more
sophisticated, maybe a little bit more speed, maybe an offense that you have to kind of go through a couple
and more reads. People are watching that from other teams being like, okay, he answers questions
that we have. Maybe if he's not with the bronze is with us. It's like these opportunities matter,
man. Like these things are good. These are not bad, like, especially if you're trying to make
a fucking roster. If you're top 10 guy on team, it's like different conversation about this.
But if your bottom half of roster, it's like any opportunity is a great opportunity.
And just acting like it's not was wild to me. I thought I was very disrespectfully in the NFL.
Like, hey, this league's been around a long time.
Long time, and it'll be going on for a long time as well.
On that note, let's talk about the league making a decision.
Rishie Rice will be suspended six games this upcoming season, including the first six games.
Because this conversation about Rishie Rice's penalty or suspension from the NFL wasn't going to come allegedly until September 30th, which was conveniently enough one day after Monday night football and they've played five games.
Four of them being primetime games.
first one obviously in Brazil the second day of the season taking on the charges on
Friday so everybody's like real convenient the NFL is scheduling this rishi rice
punishment the day after the fourth national television game for the kansas city chiefs
turns out that we did a little research we reach out to our source says within the league
in september 30th would have been the last day that a role would have come and that would involve
like a judge hearing both sides, both the NFL and the NFL PA, because there's a lot of things
and moving pieces whenever it comes to suspensions and precedent and things of that nature.
So I guess that a suspension was trying to be worked on here since it has happened.
And the NFLPA, and maybe they have their gripes or fight back about thing and they're kind of
presenting their case. The NFL is presenting their case.
Then they were able to come to an agreement on a six-game suspension being the proper amount.
Rishi Rice has agreed to it.
so September 30th was a date of importance in this particular case, but it was never in the NFL's
eyes from what we were told the date that the decision was going to be made. They've been trying
to get this done basically since it has happened. So they finally just were able to get it done,
which was news to me. I did not know any of that information. I was very happy to learn that
because it was hard not to be like real convenient that they put it on September 30th when this
happened a long time. Like it's hard not to buy into that. And then we call somebody at the NFL
and they're like, no, the deal done.
We wish this was done two weeks ago.
There's a lot that goes.
There's a lot of fighting that is happening on what's allowed,
what's not allowed, what's proper, what's improper.
And it's just like, it was cool to kind of learn about that
because I certainly bought in that they were doing this on Tuesday.
We thought of that.
Yeah, definitely.
It was hard not to, almost.
It was hard not to believe it.
And instead, they get it done before the season starts,
which is what they've been trying to do.
And it's a six-game suspension.
And Rishi Rice and his people have just been like,
Yep, you got it. We'll see you on week seven.
Yeah, it was hard, too, because Jordan Addison got suspended three games either the same day or the day before when this news dropped.
So that's why everyone was like, okay, if they're suspending guys now and then the one player on the Chiefs who's up for a suspension, he's the one that gets special treatment and they get four primetime games with their full team before he gets suspended.
Like that didn't make any sense.
The Addison suspension kind of added that into it.
It was easy fodder. It was very easy conspiracy fraud.
Now?
Yeah.
Especially the kingdom's out right now.
Yeah, exactly.
It's just like, it was easy fodder.
So I think them getting this announced before the season was huge for the NFL.
But also, we need to remember this going forward, AJ, that even though it looks like a duck and waddles like a duck, that fucker might be a goose.
You know what you never know.
You can't just assume things.
So you hear the quack.
AJ.
Do we know if Rishi is allowed in the facility and able to practice with the team during this time?
No.
Nothing.
Yeah.
That's a big deal.
Like, if he was able to take part in practice in meetings, that would be, I think that would help him a lot.
Yeah.
Yeah, I think so.
I was suspended a week, wasn't allowed in the building.
How do they follow?
I was like, so what am I supposed to do?
I'm just sitting in my house.
Like, I need that.
How do they follow that?
Yeah, it's what you're doing.
Okay.
I'll just sit in my fucking house.
Shut the blinds.
I don't want to see anybody.
I'm embarrassed and disgusted with myself.
And who can I talk to them?
Myself?
I can't really go to talk to you.
Everybody I know in the city's in a building.
It's right there.
I'm all out in there.
I'll fucking go home, I guess.
Bad move.
Where am I working out?
Fucking L.E. Fitness.
Am I allowed to work?
I'm not allowed in the building.
That's like the,
mine was one week,
six weeks a long time.
You know,
we watched Tom kind of do workouts
in his backyard throughout this entire thing.
I wonder what we'll see Rishie doing.
I assume the workout videos
will be fucking outrageous
that will be coming out.
I do assume that's a game.
It's just crazy to think, though.
Like, it's easy to kind of just
dismiss this and be like I'll sit like that's a third of the season long time and like they they
were relying on I mean we saw how the chief's offense was last year with him at the very start when it's
like okay this is the guy they've been missing they need him this is why Kelsey's kind of taken a
back seat because he is crazy situation could have killed somebody without a doubt yeah like we don't
yeah yeah not downplaying what happened obviously but like I mean for for the chiefs I would
assume they probably expected this was coming but still like having a guy who you expect to
be a Pro Bowl type receiver
and help Mahomes have another one of those
seasons for him to be gone for a third of the
season? Like, what a hit.
Yeah, now it's just, you know, it puts a spotlight
on Mr. Kelsey and his
improved offseason, him working out down in Florida.
And then, you know, Xavier Worthy,
who was in his second year, I mean, he was awesome
as a rookie. So it just puts a little bit more on those guys
until Rashid Rice. Do you think it'll be Kelsey Swift?
Both of them? I think he's
taking the name, is he? I wonder if
both of them. You got hyphen it?
Yeah. They should.
would not judge why not two very great names in americana yeah that jersey cell would do so
well yeah but i okay that's your you're thinking chigley business wise it would i'm thinking like
in my eyes that would be a that'd be a dope that'd be a fucking imagine our kids oh my god
the pressure to be great uh oh i'd be more of a fan to both last names and combine them in
something different kel swift or swift or swift
Swelsey.
Swelcy.
Yeah, Swelsey.
Probably there is.
Yeah, Swelsey.
Whatever.
I'm so happy for them.
They should take each other's last names.
Swap.
Swap.
I'm so fucking happy for them.
Think about how loud it was when they were just trying to date each other.
You know?
Fuck these people.
I'm sick as seeing them.
It's like, well, sorry.
One of them is the biggest star in the world, okay?
Sells out stadiums in every fucking continent by herself.
And the other one is the greatest tight end of all time.
So, yeah.
sorry in the biggest sport at the biggest time of the sport sorry you're seeing yeah sorry you're
sorry people are seeing i guess is kind of the thing and then this is a plant oh she's trying to sell
an album huh okay i can't believe fucking Travis Kelsey is letting Taylor Swift use his NFL status
to sell some fucking like the amount of different eras shout out Taylor sure the amount of
different eras of hate that they got at the beginning had to make it difficult to become a couple
Yeah, I mean, it really makes no sense that this is the point we're at, because like, especially in a, I can't imagine being, having every, every part of your personal life being under a microscope.
Literally everything, like, they couldn't ever go anywhere publicly and not have it be the biggest fucking deal ever.
You know, it's like the Beatles are coming into town.
Like, it just, it's.
And also, Trave, you need to look right, act right.
Yeah.
Because her fans, obviously, for good reason, because she is an absolute dog.
Very loyal.
And they've also been with her and have learned her entire life story through her songs.
You know, she's like a diary journalist artist.
That is, she's story.
I've learned about all her exes through listening with my wife.
And it's like, yo, Trav, representing for football.
I was very pumped.
I'm like, here we go.
Because she's been with artists in the past, actors in the past, musicians.
It's like, I've heard about them.
We don't like that.
You're representing for football here.
And he's been fucking, he's the perfect.
Perfect representative.
of absolutely. I think so. I legitimately think so. Like I assume he would say maybe misstepped a couple
things. I misjudged a couple things maybe because he's in the public eye, but like the tight end
position. And this is why I thought from the beginning it was perfect. Not only because I kind of know
Travis pretty well, but I'll also know Taylor through her songs, which is in her documentary.
Travis, tight end. He's not expecting to be the star. Like the quarterback is the star.
tight end is like I'll block I'll do this like okay being in shadow actually in shadow of
offensive line and in shadow of wide receiver and all everybody's in shadow of quarterback so it's
like I don't think he is I think he's pumped to like walk behind her as she's walking into a place
and he's just enjoying it like from the beginning I think that's why I was a believer that they
fuck hey this might be like the perfect for Taylor I don't know how many dudes are going to be able to
handle she's the biggest star on earth
It's like a lot of dudes, especially successful ones, have egos and fucking, you know, all that shit.
And it's like, Travis is like seemingly, he's an exclamation point, right?
Isn't that how she described him?
Yeah, human exclamation point?
Just like, no, just like, yep, let's do this.
Let's have a good time doing it.
It's like, I'm so happy for them, man.
I'm really happy for them.
The last thing I'm thinking will be interesting.
Shout out both their camps, by the way, for not leaking out.
Like, it was only Taylor's, uh, yeah, Ed Kelsey came out and said, I spent two weeks.
Where the fuck have you guys been, dude?
Whole family changed life.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Everybody's watching everything.
Mom, you're going to be wanted to be talking everywhere.
Let's make sure we're not saying anything, too, you know.
I mean, it's crazy time.
Kylie's got a podcast.
Yeah, Kylie's Beast, Jason Kelsey, too, best center we've ever had,
catapulted into, hey, by the way, here is super football guy to the world.
you know yeah jason kelsey here he is and then her talking about him and his timbs doing the
fucking base jump in the ice he just appeared he levitated i was impressed by that as well
once again great representative of football this drunk big massive man still able in the snow
yeah in the ice buffalo yeah still able to just fly it's like that's football baby that's right
we appreciate that congrats to them once again that is cool that's really cool
they had to be so happy to find each other you know i'd assume so
legit
they'd probably assume they were never going to find somebody like this get married
both of them public relationships yeah i mean certainly not
it's just a wild situation it's a wild time dude worked out imagine if she if
she could sell out every she could sell every ticket she wanted to sell
for the rest of her life like right now if she didn't have
the fucking stadium tour
the United States of America
was selling in five minutes.
Foxy, do you not agree with that?
1,000%.
Foxy's got a Swifty he lives with as well.
Yes.
So it's like...
Five's a lot.
What's that?
Five minutes is a lot.
Yeah, you're right.
It would be 90 seconds.
If there was no heads up,
there was zero heads up,
she just put out a post on Instagram.
Boom.
Here's 250,000 tickets available.
Yep.
Those things would disappear
in 90 seconds.
Yeah, maybe.
However fast,
the link can go through there she's able to do that's a crazy existence like that is just an absolutely
crazy existence and for them to be able to kind of counterbalance each other and what's weird the
swifty in my household has always said from the beginning out of all the boyfriends she ever had
Travis was the one where they were like oh they might get married and like all the swifties are like
this is it this is the time Travis is going to be the one and that's just kind of been the thing since
they started dating which i think is pretty cool that it actually is happening yeah they're so high school
Yeah, they are.
They give up on love.
Travis is tall, too.
So it's not like, you know, I think
some of those dudes actual shadow.
Oh, yeah. Yeah, definitely.
Come on, Taylor, say.
Come on, yeah, this is called a crowd.
You've never seen one.
This is what it is.
You know, like, that's seemingly what it was in the past.
All right.
Age, let's get the hell out of here.
We'll be back tomorrow.
Good show tomorrow.
Tomorrow's Thursday?
Yeah, yeah, sure is.
College football.
Holy fuck, man.
Yeah, we got football.
We've got football tomorrow, big ones.
Nebraska Sincey.
Yeah, watch that.
I like what you're doing, Tony.
Chat GP-Tone.
Yeah, I love it.
Six and a half?
Of course you like it.
That feels like a 4.25, round up to 4.5 to me.
The books don't know yet.
That's what you were sounded like when you were talking about your Excel spreadsheet with chat GP.
I didn't mean to come off like that, but if I did, I'm not apologizing for it.
All right.
Hey, if chat GP tone is the game changer,
I'm in.
I could go in 10 this week and then I'll just burn the entire AI.
Don't give it.
Don't give it up?
Don't you guys stick with it?
Don't you think?
Yeah, you do have to,
you just got to get it there and then you got to talk to it.
Yeah, you need a five week.
Molding.
There's a sample size.
There it is, yeah.
You need to mold it, shape it.
By the way, the first game, more is at 5.30.
So it's like, yes, we're really in it.
Yeah.
Friday, me and AJ will be in Columbus, Ohio, inside a stadium.
Nice.
We will not be taking a whole show.
to outside stadium.
There's a lot of events set up
because Coach Corso's last
that I did not know about literally
until yesterday, so had to
kind of adjust here.
Honored, so that's not even a question.
It's just like, got it, got it.
There's a lot of celebrations of Coach Corso.
Rightfully so.
Yeah.
So much commitment to sport.
Yeah.
So much commitment to sport over the years.
They were shown all of his highlights.
Just so many memories,
just so many moments on television
over one lifetime,
insane to think about, let alone where the sport and the show was whenever he started versus
where it's at now. It's like he has to look around and be incredibly proud of what he's,
I assume, you know, and getting a chance to honor him at the SB's, it was cool because it did
feel like he did kind of take it in for a little bit. You know, sometimes you don't know if somebody's
really like, I don't want to say appreciative because obviously everybody's appreciative, but like
because you've done so, he's accomplished so much. It's like at some point you kind of get numb
to people telling you how awesome you are, you know, because there's also people that tell you
how bad you are so like and coach corso was very much like uh i don't want to become friends with
coaches i don't want to like i am just kind of doing my thing universally loved human for the last
what 20 years basically of his tv days kirk talked about the first and not everybody loved him you know
and his entire thing that carries him i assume through the entire thing about how he is it did feel
like he took it in and i was incredibly like happy for him you know because like hey man they don't
just fucking do this for nobody you know like this is you know like this is
is a huge ordeal because you've earned it.
And I think everybody's been trying to make sure he knows that.
And I think it's been beautiful to kind of watch, AJ.
I mean, I sure hope he knows that.
I would imagine he, hopefully he accepts all the praise and what people are saying.
Because you're right, like you could talk to anybody.
You don't even have to know what football is barely.
And they could probably point out Lee Corse.
Like, I've seen that guy.
I always see clips of him.
I see him on TV putting on the, you know, the mascot.
Like people still, even if you don't know anything, I think a lot of people still.
still know what Lee Corso is.
Yeah, yeah, he's synonymous with the sport,
the number two sport in America, college football.
NFL's number one, college football is number two.
And it's like whenever Coach Corso started,
30 some years ago, 40, I don't know what it was now.
I just always say 30 some years,
but that was a few years ago,
we might have creeped into 40,
I don't know how many years it was.
But like, when it was like that,
it was just him on a chair, you know,
him Fowler and Herbstree,
on like watching that to what it has,
Just game day, let alone the whole sport of college football.
It's like, what a job well done.
What a life's work?
Yeah, what a life's work.
Yeah, 38 years he's been doing it.
So it is creeping to 40 in this entire thing.
But it's like his life's work has been displayed, and you can see the success of it.
And the celebration of him will be awesome on Saturday.
Yeah, yeah.
It's going to be a special show.
I'm looking forward to it.
And then right after that, boom, Ohio State, Texas.
And it.
His last headgear in the horseshoe.
Yeah.
That's going to be...
He better do it.
Babyface a heel.
He better do it.
Hopefully right after the headgear.
He better fucking do it.
Could you imagine?
That's all I'm saying.
Could you imagine?
Oh, yeah.
Oh.
Yeah.
That would be all time.
Last one ever.
People cry it.
Ah, fuck it.
Yeah.
Most headgear, the TV's picked the most is the buck guy.
Oh, my God.
That would be...
He's not scary.
Yeah, you want to talk about a walk-off.
That would be a...
I mean...
I hope, yeah.
I would lose my shit up there.
That would be sick.
But he's going to get it right.
His record is a very good one.
He is going to go for whoever he thinks actually going to win, which I respect.
I'm not trying to drop in there, though.
You better.
I'll do another one of these, you know, the old days.
Toss that.
Come on.
One last time.
the entire
boo on the way out
oh my god
how many people in there 100 and what
105 108 something like that
108000 people
that would be fucking epic
it will be regardless
because the place is going to go fucking it
it's regardless it is epic
we're talking strictly
if he was to decide
I'm going to heal in this place
one last time what that would just
to feel I hope
not he's gonna pit I'm excited
to see what picks actually because that is
probably who he
thinks to win a national championship.
I think he's been pretty close a lot.
So we will learn from, watch, enjoy, and honor the shit out of them as we celebrate a huge
kickoff to college football.
What a big slate, dude, on Saturday.
Awesome.
That's amazing.
We don't get this usually.
Early, man.
Early.
I think there's an entire campaign going on about, like, not scheduling easy games, too,
by, like, maybe Nike or something like that.
Well, that's why they need to put all the teams up.
play. I mean, I hope Stanford Steve's right.
They need to put all those teams in.
Let's say
Ohio State gets, has
three losses, but one of their losses is Texas
and they're at 14. Like, come on.
They'll be in still a favor of three.
The winners and
the honor guys.
We'll all make the CFB.
That's the last time,
boys. I hope we enjoyed it.
I did.
Oh, fuck. Call him back. He had something for Gumpy.
Call Steve.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, you're right.
Oh, my God, I just remembered.
Fuck, we missed that.
We all missed it.
Yeah, we did.
I put it on all the...
No, yeah, you did.
You completely forgot.
I put it on everybody.
Hey, make sure I get to what Steve wants to tell Goms.
Got a good, hmm.
Because Gumpy said, I got a good stat that'll make Gump feel good about the dolphins.
And he started to say, we said, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, save you for on air.
And then we never asked.
Hold on, on, my red ears not in.
I cannot hear you.
We'll call him tomorrow.
He's got another commitment.
Yeah.
Another interview.
No, he had a Zoom call.
Oh, okay.
Hi.
Bless you.
Bless you.
Bless you.
Bless you.
Thank you.
All right.
We'll be back tomorrow.
Thursday already.
Yeah, it is.
Feels like I've lived this week a lot.
You're on Thursday.
Yeah.
Early morning.
You know, this is the new me.
I don't know if you guys know.
If you're like me, we can text about 445.
Sure.
Feels like that's the thing we do.
Hell yeah.
So we'll see you out there.
Yeah, I'll be up.
I'll be up.
I don't know if you know it's already 5.04 a.m. right now in Brisbane.
That's why so it, 2 a.m. is noon. That's how I know.
12 plus 2.
You guys get pretty active.
You guys got pretty active from about midnight to 2 there.
Yeah, sure.
Got pretty active.
Yep.
You know, and I'm trying.
Go to sleep.
I'm trying.
And there's just, and I turn it off.
But somehow, because I think it's a pinned group text, it still vibrates every once in a while.
And I look at it.
48 text message. All right. I'm fucking not looking at that. And then I go take a piss at about
2.30. I open it. Show is live. All right. I got to see what's going on here.
Okay. Fucking rap sheet looks awesome. And is that his kid on set? That's not the same kid though.
No, no. So I'm at two, I'm literally half asleep. I think that's a different kid. Is that another kid?
different poopy haircut? I can't
No, they got good haircuts, but then I had to text him,
hey, say what's up to other kids, you know,
because we'd like to at least be
hospitable, even though I'm in the other country.
But I don't want to say, shout out to the other kid, if it's the same
kid, because then the other guy thinks,
that's more disrespectful, I shouldn't text anything.
Exactly. 245, this is all happening in my head.
And then fucking bachn, you guys are in the goddamn group text.
And then I get texts. Are you okay?
You haven't seen you on the show?
Fucking everybody.
We're going to bed.
Talk to get back.
to sleep after that. It is, yeah.
I'll tell you what, though, Australia?
I would definitely recommend.
Yeah, I'm going to go. I would definitely recommend.
So far. So far.
You just got to account for, they say, three days of travel.
Like we also asked NFL person, how's football game going to work there, NFL game?
It is so far. And they used to play a preseason game in Japan, I think.
So they have had to experience far trips.
Australia is so far
it is so far
they're watching Super Bowl Monday morning
9 a.m. or whatever you know so it's like
that's how different it is
you just every person I talk to is like
when you travel to Australia you just
add three days is what the
travel is going to be one and a half and one and a half
like that's basically what you're book ending on the
backside and then you got everything else in between
it's like in a football season how do you just
lose I don't know how you just lose about three days
I honestly don't how is that on a mass
of disadvantage you got to do it
this week next year. If they're going to do it,
they should do it next week on
Thursday. And then they get first week off as well
so they'd be like two weeks. Then week
one, those two teams have week one
bonus buy. They would be the week zero game.
So they would get a bonus buy. Yes.
Which would actually be the, but they're working
ahead of everybody else. Yeah,
I don't know if you move their cuts up when it comes
to cut down or even if you could do that.
I don't know how you fix it. Because you can't, you
genuinely can't do it. It's so
far. It is so, and there's no
Wi-Fi over the Pacific.
A lot of Australians would show up though, right?
Yes, I think so. Yeah.
I think so. It feels like it.
I was not recognized over there
much, but then when
I was in places where there was
pockets of people, like if that makes
sense, like walked into
a sports place, and it's like
three people in there knew who I was,
so that means 50 people knew it
who I was because they told, you know,
the conversation. But walking about,
you know all good freeze a bird it was awesome sweet holy fuck it was awesome i had a blast i was just
sitting on a bench on downtown just fucking judge it everybody walking by nobody looking at me
i was like i think i miss people watching in public and yeah i do you fucking had a long black
which is what they call their black coffee over there they got a long black two of your fake
sugars because you guys don't have splendor here tells me something about what i'm putting in my
coffee yeah yeah crazy you guys don't have that tastes so good but i guess i'll do this stuff
and then sunglasses on
what the fuck is that guy
walking by
next person
wow
nose piercing to the top lip
to ear
back to bottom lip
unbelievable
unbelievable arrangement
how long does that take
to every fucking morning
walk by
good to see them
sporty fella comes walking by
good to see that
holding the footing a footy ball
stop him ask him
if I was to punch that ball
out what would happen probably fight you but i go ball security you know that in that kind of
a thing he was i wouldn't do that no touch my fucking ball all right yeah good ball good ball i'll see you
later i just able to have those very fucking natural random candid interactions with it was really
cool like i really i fucking love and everybody was cool like everybody that i talked to was cool and
I don't want to say I get special treatment in places, but I do nowadays.
Like, I can't fucking tell you what some restaurants like, because that restaurant is fucking
pulling out all the stuff.
They're putting me, yeah, and it's a very cool thing.
You know, there's a lot of drawbacks, obviously, to this entire life that I'm very lucky
and thankful.
This is not me complaining.
There's a lot of pluses that come with this entire thing, but I can't tell you how a
fucking place is because they're going to be nicer to me if somebody knows me there, then they
would be to fucking my dad if my dad was to go in there, you know?
So it's just like a little different world.
have experienced a different reality all of a sudden we all have i think i don't want to speak for
everybody else over there like it was cool to just fucking be like it was very cool just to be
everywhere you know and everybody was cool everybody had a personality like i think that's i was
in england i thought everybody had a personality like you could just like talk shit and they're
going to come back and they have that accent so it's immediately a little bit of sauce on it it was
like Australia felt like the same way did i tell the story about the fucking gigantic dude not on here
this guy 50 some years old face looks like 6 566 walks into the hotel i'm staying in it tank top
fucking monster this guy just traps fucking didn't look like he was on royds either it was like
uh active he just looked like a of a massive lad for a lack of better words as he's walking out
i stop him excuse me excuse me sir what do you do how is this
And he, like, gets, like, startled for a second.
And I'm like, you're a fucking monster.
What are we doing here?
Oh, circuit trading a lot, you know, goes through this entire thing about what he's doing
and how he does it.
It was, like, so incredibly kind.
Like, what an uncomfortable question to hear from somebody.
But I was so impressed.
I think he was, like, taken back that I even asked.
Then he, like, gave me the game.
He was like, high intensity, trade, you know.
And then he had, like, a military tat.
And I was with First Sergeant Gartland, the guy that went to our high school,
who served 22 years in the Marines, was 8.
years as a drill instructor at Parris Island and in San Diego and you know he's literally
guy I've known since high school got to be in the movie uh with me because Peter let him in
he showed me around Parasai like gave me a lot of game in this entire thing like very very
thankful for him hilarious fucking human being I mean let's not undercut just being around him is
outrageous has been since high school as well like this dude is hilarious but certified
this entire thing. The big huge dude had
you know some military tat or something
because the Aussies in USA
especially in World War II
like Guadalcanal there's a bunch of
like little fights and battles before
we truly get to Japan that like
Australia fucking was
there was seven scouts I guess from Australia
and Guadalcanal that showed all our people around
as we're moving up the islands and it like
took care of us. Australia got hit pretty hard I guess
by Japan so they obviously
had their own it was like Australian
USA military very
very tight. I think I learned that as I was over there.
So listening to First Sergeant Gartland and this fucking massive dude
have this military conversation was just like so cool.
It was like, it was just a welcoming country, if that makes sense.
But there's not a lot of fuck about.
Yeah.
We don't like weed.
You're putting your seatbelt on in the backseat.
There's one homeless person we saw.
So a lot of people reply to you yesterday, you know that you're supposed to put
your seatbelt on the backseat of America, too, Pat.
Yeah, but it's not, your car's not yelling at me.
Yeah, it doesn't be. Getting an Uber
as soon as you sit out. I just saw a lot of those replies.
Yeah, I did see that as well, yeah. I was like, uh, valid.
What I'm saying is American cars aren't fucking chirpy about it.
No, they're not.
Beep, only in the front seat.
The Australian car, we get in an Uber as soon as we sit down,
that thing's like you, now, now, now, now.
Oh, you fucking seatbelt.
That's literally, now, now, now.
And then the driver, I'm not moving until this thing.
You know, so it's like you sit down and like immediately, I'm trying to, where is the fucking, there's the middle one here too.
If I put this into the middle one, will it stop?
No, you got to put it in your, fuck.
It's down in the, you know what it's down.
Oh, yeah, stuck between.
I had to fucking get in there, dig the fucking thing out.
And the thing shuts up.
Now I'm like stuck, you know, underneath this fucking thing.
Is that good, bloke?
Yep.
yeah thank you there yeah thank you that way you had it and we just roll my god lee these things
are demanding they're taking care of their people and keeping them safe for making them feel
good from from their food it's crazy it's unbelievable it's crazy that a country would do that for
their people their food i don't it's going to be hard for me not every single time it comes up
just to talk about it fox it was like this whenever we went to italy yeah yeah Italy in south
africa i couldn't believe it you just feel like a million dollars no matter what you eat
whole bowl of pasta
you can eat that and run two miles after you
I ate a whole pizza
Don't do this don't do this
This is how you hang from doorknobs
Okay you just kind of let it be
I don't want to get in a political debate
And I was told that whenever
I forget who I was talking to
They're like what are you going to say about Australia
You're going to go back
I'm like the food is just so much better
This is unbelievable
They're like you know that's going to get you in some
In what
It's going to get to hanging from a dormat
I guess that's a thing though
like what is allowed and what is not allowed in food whatever i'm not i'm not a scientist all i'm telling
is by my research i went to australia the food's quality is so fucking good it's real so good and
i don't want to talk about it but like your functions just so much it worked the way they're
supposed to energy levels everything's good i lost weight i was eating more you i don't
take in naked you eat meat over there oh yeah they have canadian bacon instead of like our
bacon, I assume our bacon's not actually. I don't know. Everything that was like you than what
American is, I just assume, oh, like whenever you watch a commercial for a bank and it says,
don't, we're not like other banks. We don't something. And I'm learning about my bank through that
commercial. I'm like, does my fucking bank do that? I don't like that at all. And then he called
bank and they say, well, we do that because it was happening with the food. Like when I couldn't get
Splenda, I was like, oh, no, there's a reason. Why, well, what do they know? What are they? If they're not
letting it here. They only like,
that's not good. And then
I go and try to, like, bacon. I'm going to get some bacon.
They bring out Canadian bacon. And I'm like,
I'm a strips guy.
Yeah. All the time. It's like, well, they don't even have
those here. It's like, well, what the fuck happened?
Even the coffee.
Coffee's so good.
Feels like we could do that with coffee here.
No. I don't know how we aren't.
No, you can't do anything.
You take a shot of espresso. It's fucking diesel.
Diesel. It was the same in Spain.
I was taking an espresso shot. I was fucking zinging.
It was unbelievable.
I've only quickly stopped through Spain.
I've never been to Italy.
That's the longest I've been in another country, I think, there, other than America,
obviously, thank God.
Well, it turns out.
Whoa.
What?
No, let's not get crazy.
You want to come back to America.
Trust me.
But, I mean, if there's one thing that would affect your life more than anything, it would be the food.
It's just so unbelievable.
It is.
Frustrating.
It was so good.
So we went through Donnies.
Dawn's?
I think it was called Dawnies.
it was like American food. Denny's. Donnie Baker's? Donnie. It was Donnie. Definitely Donnie.
And up there they got like decks, big decks. And then there's like restaurant with front patio that's like kind of fenced off. But you can walk in between. And then restaurant with their front patio. So you like walk through other restaurants basically to get to one. We sat down at this one place that was packed. We're like this place must be good. Let's sit there. And then we saw a sign for Donnie. So it was like pizza, pasta. And it was like American food basically. I'm like we should.
go see what American food is like super
healthy. Like if all the
laws were to be passed to get our food
like what it is over here, we should go
check that out at this Donnie's guy.
The future is bright if this
happens. Mozrella sticks were fucking
unblahed. It was breaded
it was actual breaded like
mozzarella in there. It was so fucking
good. The pizza, ridiculous.
The pasta outrageous. How about
just bread in general? Like if you're just eating a
plain piece of bread. Yes, plain piece of
bread. Yeah, I thought to myself, what the fuck
in our bread that I can just house
this bread and it just
it feels good
yep meatballs
this isn't making me feel great
I was just gonna say like this doesn't piss you off
you guys are just telling us stuff that we're never going to
fucking have I'm bumped out like that's
what that's what hey guys I got this
fucking I'm just telling you this exists
I'm just telling you this exist
I'm sorry you guys aren't getting pissed because it's like
you've experienced the other side
you saw what I ate this morning I'm just I'm very worried
to go dive back into whatever
I honestly don't know what to do.
Now, granted, you give me a couple days here.
I'm having a sandwich.
You'll forget all about it.
Yeah, and then all you're going to think is, damn, I could eat this same sandwich in a different country.
No, don't do that.
Lose weight from it.
You're going to have a terrible shit.
That's exactly what's going to happen.
It's going to be otherworldly how bad it is.
And then you're going to say, okay, I'm back.
Guess who's back?
Bingo.
Back again.
Dumpin.
Yeah. Diary is back.
Yeah, tell a friend.
Tell a friend, bitch.
And I'm back for good.
you're taking that long ride i don't think so i will say that was the that was the biggest
clear difference between us and them was like the food quality was just so good
that sucks went to like small cafe and these eggs you see the person making it it comes out
perfect it's like what are these eggs eggs mate you guys don't get it your food is
were there a lot of american-made cars uh fuck i always observe that when i go somewhere
saw a ram truck. I saw a ram truck. That was cool to see. I did see a ram truck.
It's an official truck of down under. Yeah, maybe. Was it, was it, uh, Ozzie driving it,
or was it one of the people that were just over there temporarily? There's not a lot of Americans
over there. Okay. There's not like, because it's a far trip, at least from my experience,
it might have been. Would make sense because you literally can't, any family or anything,
yeah, you can't live on. Yeah, it's hard. It's hard to do Australia if you're an American,
strictly because of the time. You're pretty isolated. But if you're,
were to take family and go
from like you would have to be the closest place
where do people come from? Asia
there's a lot of Asia influence
a lot of Asia influence there
UK a lot of Europe we had
a guy named Ricky was working at TFP
the gym he served us breakfast
lunch and dinner one day
because we were just hanging out to his place
Stanicki he was from no I don't know his last name
Ricky had a lot of sauce though he was from
Scotland he was
he was great man there was a lady named Kim
that was there from England and then
And there's a couple of people from Asian countries that were working there.
It's like that is kind of, it felt like a lot of Asia influence in Australia.
English too, just from way back.
Yeah, in the English, way back.
Yeah, it was cool country, man.
Far, dude.
Yeah, so far.
Hike.
But, you know, if you can power through the first seven hours.
So if you get a flight that lands in the morning, okay, lands at like 6 a.m.
For instance, our flight landed in Melbourne at 6 a.m.
So, first Sergeant Gartland goes, I've done this before.
We got to stay up halfway through this.
We're falling asleep.
We're waking up 6 a.m.
We're Australian.
And I was like, in theory, genius.
This is a good idea.
Now, staying up for the first seven hours after I've been doing a day,
that's 20-some hours of staying up now.
You're at 20-some hours,
and you're up in a plane where everybody else is asleep.
And you have no Wi-Fi.
So there's some real mental toughness checks
there through those first seven hours. Once you get, though, to a sleepable amount of time,
then you're loading up on everything that is putting you to sleep. Whatever your choice is,
whatever that is. Loving a choice. Then snoozing hard. And then they're waking you up right before
you hitting the ground. We hit the ground. We were up. Like 6 a.m. It's like, all right, I woke up for
the day. So we didn't get fucked for like multiple days. And then coming back, same thing. But it's
hard to stay up. Yeah. To get there. Yeah, it's hard. Because even if you nap for a little bit,
then you're up then you nap again you're kind of just like you're not really but boy coming back
i saw 522 miles to destination and i was exhausted jesus and i look over first sergeant garland
and he's fucking over there just fighting the whole thing he didn't even download anything on his
phone just staring straight what do you mean he raw dog yeah just looking straight the whole
he raw dog fucking 16 hours there's there's movies in the thing yeah
He goes, I don't want it.
He watched the flight map.
Sicko.
That's awesome good for him.
People are different.
Sick, fuck, yeah.
He's like, I like this.
Oh, my God.
He was so funny.
He was so funny throughout that entire thing.
We were around each other a lot.
It was like towards the end.
We're like, we've been around each other a lot for 10 days.
He's just dropped out of nowhere.
Haven't really seen him since high school.
Like, we'd see him at different, like, gatherings.
And then all of a sudden we're 10 days,
different country. Nobody else to talk to. Here you go. Good luck out there. Oh, yeah, and put your
fucking seatbelts on. As soon as you get in the backseat of that car. It was awesome. It was a fun
trip, man. I would recommend Australia. Brisbane, Olympics, 2032. I think we will certainly
try it to do something. Yeah. 2030, I'll put it in my calendar.
Yeah, me too. Sounds good. Sounds good. I'll throw it in there. Perfect.
You're dead serious. Yeah, dead serious. You should have seen how many
people i told you should have seen how many people i told coming back for the
olympics coming back i thought i was messed i thought i messed up the math in my head or something
for a second but no i didn't oh shit seven years yeah concierge for the future concierge people at the hotel
you know great people good vibes every time we walked in there no matter what time it was so you guys
come back for the olympic all right we'll see you then fucking out seven years from book a hotel like
michael scott they have to call back i must have to throw it a hundred
people i'd see them at the olympics
it's good move fucking so much smart
this is really good food i'll see you guys at the olympics
opening ceremonies right around the corner guys i'll see you there i'm
pumped man i'm telling i sold it though as if like it was
next year it's sure
but everybody should start playing it now
already are yeah okay already looking into hotels
i got to hotel i know where we're staying perfect don't you worry about
that we're actually calling up damien cavilucci
okay damien cavillucci he's the owner of tis
FP and also surrounding buildings.
This dude is a genius.
This dude makes good shit.
This dude put a fucking tree in the middle of his five-story gym.
A full fucking tree.
This thing is the tree of life.
Genius.
It's the vibes or just music, not too terrible.
Sure.
That was a bad way to grab it.
Not too much.
You know, not too, you know.
Everybody, I think, kind of likes the music that's playing.
Even though a lot of people have headphones on, if you don't,
Still going to feel good walking through.
You got fucking cold towels available
everywhere you need it, everything.
Every lift.
Altitude fucking room.
Just a full fucking room that's at 5,280 feet.
You want to do some cardio in there, die.
Go ahead.
Just do it.
We went in there, gut check.
Fucking hit that thing.
Just see what we can do.
Walked out, you feel like you're actually walking.
Your whole body feels like a high watch walking on clouds.
They have an elevator that goes right through the middle of it
with stairs right next to.
it the elevator completely glass okay we're in that altitude room third floor getting after
it elevator's right over here tree of life is right here okay we're getting after it in the altitude
room we see two other people on this movie we will not say their names okay because this is not good
taking the elevator down the fucking building we're in a gym we're in a fucking you're in a weight
room and they're Damien Cavalucci the guy that founded this place he made that a glass elevator so
that you could see who is in the i think it's for service you know to take tiles up to place food
do that and sure next day seen it was hard not to just say you look like a fucking guy
that would take a goddamn elevator in a wait room and when there's stairs directly next to
it you fucking soft potato patch looking it's hard not to do that and i told them that was hard for me
not to do that and then they started attacking me obviously because i don't care about time enough
and they have places to go and yada yada yada it was this place was the hub of our entire operation basically
and damien cavilucci took calvuluch hell yeah cabalooch how many you got a lot of pizons around here
first question it was up north a little bit more okay sure i'll tell you what i know one cavilluch
down here and he fucking took care of us all you need is one i even bought a pair of tfps you guys
saw those yesterday crocs yes dfps crox yes confi aren't they those are my tfps
Crocs purchased at TFP.
How to wear him a TFP?
Crocs on the shoe.
Says it on the little thing.
My wife's doing the same thing with me here.
These are this whole song and dance.
Hey, comfy, aren't there?
Crocs are in style.
Yeah, you can either buy into the crocs or TFP.
You can buy into your crocs.
I wore them at TFP.
You can buy into your crocs that you purchased at TFP.
Actually, I purchased from down a row because they were all selling it, but we needed to get them.
Oh, okay.
I was trying to get a pair of slides, you know, because there's multiple hot tub, cold tub, sauna, snow room.
And when we showed up without sandals, we look like fucking assholes.
Okay, so we said we're not doing that again.
We need to go get TFPs.
So we're trying to get slides.
Crocs.
It's tough to find over there.
Crocs is much better.
The crocs were very readily available.
So we got the T.
You're a crock guy.
It's cool.
They're vastly superior machine.
I wore them home.
on the flight home yeah they were pretty nice
ain't more me you're crocs got travel shoes yeah but i came right around the
plane you'll never see me those on my you have you need to run outside quick at your house
they're amazing you slip them fuckers on every single time every single time
akew shipley is about to do a fucking full song victory dance about me having me bring you a pair
of all those shitty shoes he wears yeah that's the thing you had a pair of shoes in there
to put on in where in your office was that in australia no when you came
back in here yesterday.
I was wearing my T-FP.
You're wearing your Crocs, I know.
I was still in the middle of my travels.
That's why I'm just stunned.
I was disappointed you weren't wearing them today.
I have bad news for you.
My jaw dropped.
You're never going to see those on these.
Listen, if you don't want them, send them my way, man.
You're not getting my T-FPs.
Okay, that's what I'm saying.
Crocs.
They do say Crocs, which makes no sense to me because those are T-FPs.
They got C-R-O-C-S right there across the top.
And on the bottom.
And on the back.
I haven't looked at.
Yeah, Brandon.
I did.
At least you didn't have him in sport mode.
Well, can't wear him in sport mode because that would defeat the purpose of them being the TFPs.
Yeah, plus, then you're trying to easy-in.
Leisure mode.
If you wear him in sport mode, too, then you're a fucking loser.
Saw a guy working out in TFPs at TFP.
I bet.
Sport mode.
Yep.
He was locked in completely.
It's tough to take him serious, but I understood that he was probably coming from the fifth floor where the ball was.
Probably took the elevator, yeah.
Two different locker rooms, had a locker in both.
by the way.
Nice.
Just so we understand
what all was happening.
Full menu.
Knew it ahead of time.
Well, food was coming.
Tomorrow our special
will be this.
Put us down for two of those.
Can't hang out in my hotel room
because it's directly connected
to the fucking public pool outside.
So I was a part of 14 different conversations
of people that were having their day
at a pool, which was two feet outside of my door.
I learned a lot about a lot of people.
And there's a guy getting married.
it sounds like some of his friends
are not happy about that
I don't know out anybody
but they need to be more supportive
over there
that guy needs to hear positive things
in there

The three-point ball has created a monotonous rhythm to the game.
Has the three-pointer ruined basketball?
And how did we get here?
The rise of a three-point shot can be partially traced
to an eccentric Kansas genius named Martin Manley,
whose story didn't turn out quite the way he imagined.
I decided I wanted to have one of the most organized goodbyes in history.
