Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to our Humble of Vogue, the Thunderdome.
On this BA Day, November 4th, 2025, this program begins right now.
Football!
Hit!
He is the greatest sport on earth, and we're incredibly lucky that on this glorious Tuesday, just like all the other Tuesdays of this season,
we are joined by a man who has coached football for 47 years.
Now he's our coach.
Ladies and gentlemen, Coach B.A.
Yay, yay.
Good to see you, Coach.
you look fantastic today.
I want to let you know
everything is viving,
everything is going fantastically.
Very unlike the Dallas Cowboys.
Nine-year NFL vet.
Darius J. Bullers.
Yes, sir.
Now, Toxic Table at Boston Connor
and at Ty Schmidt.
Just like I said earlier when he came in,
this is Darius Butler.
Darius Butler is a nine-year NFL vet.
One of the best brains in the history of football.
So incredibly athletic.
And we haven't seen him in a while.
Yeah.
You know why?
What's that?
Great dad.
Like great dad has been since the day that I met him.
Most off seasons and summers were spent me following along with his
socials, with his kids traveling around, driving around.
And now they're at the age of playing like competitive sports, I do believe.
And his daughter, Milan, is competing on the high school golf team.
And last week, you're at a tournament.
Yesterday you're at a tournament.
How's it going?
She's a freshman.
And it sounds like she has picked up the Darius Butler incredible athletic jeans.
Yeah, she's a dog.
She's a worker.
She's a grinder.
And I didn't expect her out of any of the kids to be the golfer because she hates being outside.
She hates bugs.
She hates sweating.
But she picked up the game and she's been grounded a little more than a year.
And she went as a freshman and we know how it is going and getting on like a high school team and actually competing with especially something that you haven't been doing a long time.
So freshmen competing on a varsity team.
And then last week was districts and then this was the regional.
And this is where, you know, the run ended for her freshman season.
But she played her best golf against her best competition.
So, you know, as a dad, that makes you proud to see, you know, see you out of the ground, especially with golf,
because it's such a game where it's, like, very much like a kicker or a snapper, hey, it's your turn.
Everybody's watch you all lives on you.
And I can, you know, I can't understand even how rattling that could be, especially for, like, a high school, a young girl and all those things.
So to see her battle and go out there and grind and her team, a couple of teammates were probably advanced to states.
But it was awesome to be there to see it, you know, to break all the rules.
Because as parents, you're not supposed to be able to talk.
You're not supposed to be at help.
and I'm like, hey, you know, I can't give away my techniques
and how I get my communication to.
You're saying signals?
But we got some communication down.
So when I'm there, her mom's afraid to break the rules.
So it's a little different when I'm there.
But it was awesome to be able to watch.
And obviously, miss being here as well.
Now, listen, Florida High School Sports,
I know what they did in Teddy Bridgewater.
Maybe you need to dump everything.
Yeah, good point.
Debut is not sending any signals to his daughter while she is golfing as a freshman in the tournaments.
But I would like to let you know,
we're incredibly pumped for your entire.
family. I assume it was very emotional over there.
We saw the clip of her almost chipping in.
That is awesome. I mean, that is
absolutely incredible. Good luck. We think
sports are a necessity for
the development of humans. So
the fact that your daughter is obviously getting
a chance to compete and she's playing her best at the highest
level against her best opponents. Dog.
And now she takes that into the
off season. Oh, yeah. And we only get better and better.
Coach B.A., you
it feels like coaches always say
they view their team as like their
kids and stuff like that. And you have
to kind of act as a father figure for a lot of people in a lot of different situations.
Whenever you start seeing guys and their kids start to have success,
I couldn't even imagine with guys that have played in the league,
and then their kids are in the league as well, and you're in there,
you're a massive piece of that entire process and the entire, like, kind of grand scheme of things.
Yeah, I never set up myself as a father figure.
I was that cool uncle you want to have a drink with.
Okay, Trump, Uncle.
Everybody's got that uncle, you know.
Yes, they definitely do.
And, but yeah, on the drive range Saturday,
Ben Rutherbergh is down there with his son, Benjamin.
and oh yes that little joker got me good we gave him a stroke a hole and he shot 77
Benjamin yeah yeah he's won a couple tournaments already and okay buddy I'm getting you next
time I think you get me straight chip and putt too I think that's a younger one yeah like winning the
drive yeah I think Rothersberger's kids are about to be real sticks because I guess he is too right is
oh he's legit yeah he's legit yeah he's also great at talking about ball I'm happy to as hell
that Ben Rothersberger is doing a football and podcast let's talk a little bit about football
Cardinals, very good last night.
Cowboys ass.
Cowboys immediately make a trade.
Jerry Jones are saying I'm sitting on one in my back pocket.
I got one if I want to make it if I want to.
Now, would I rather make a trade for the Dallas Cowboys
or hit that honey hole three miles down
where I can get that $100 billion worth of natural gas?
Give me B any time of the day.
But since I can get Logan Wilson here,
linebacker from the Cincinnati Bengals to the Dallas Cowboys,
let's go ahead and make that move.
They do that immediately after the loss.
And, you know, a lot of people are saying Troy Aikman,
They're going to need to do a lot more and just get one player to make this team good.
I think there's a lot of question marks on how the hell the Dallas Cowboys are going to kind of react and how they're going to go forward.
We all agree that Dak Prescott's a good player.
I think everybody kind of says that.
But that team seemingly never really going to get going.
And on the flip side, just a few years back, I was calling for Jacoby Brissette to be MVP quarterback,
MVP of the entire league here at Indianapolis.
Since his early days, whenever he was a third string quarterback for the New England Patriots,
he's always been able to get on the field and spend it.
He's always been able to lead.
He seemingly always knows what he's supposed to do in every single offensive system that he's ever been in.
Whenever he is with the Colts, he was backing up Andrew Luck at one point.
He was the one like running the meetings.
He is like the guy.
Bill Parcell is, I think, Big Tuna kind of influenced him throughout high school and everything like that.
Marvin Harrison Jr. has a massive day.
McBride, their weapon at tight end, is scoring a lot of touchdowns now that Jacoby Brissette's the quarterback,
as opposed to when Kyler's the quarterback.
There's a lot of those stats coming.
And Gannon's culture seemingly settling in.
They lose three games by like, what, two points or something like that.
So their record isn't great.
Still got nine games left, obviously, in this season.
A lot can happen in that.
But this Cardinals team might be real.
Hey, don't look now.
The Arizona Cardinals might not be asked.
They might actually be very good football team,
especially with Jacoby a quarterback.
Absolutely.
And Dan O. said it when he was on the show,
like, you know, they're better than their record
and their two and five record coming into this game.
And we all know in the league, we always say,
hey, look, you are what your record is.
So these games, a lot of times they come down
to one drive, whether offensively or defensively, but Jacob Bersack, he can run the ship.
He is a starting quarterback in his league.
The offense just looks better with him under under helm.
He's fighting along.
The defense, they can play well.
Will Johnson, I thought he made some big-time plays.
He's been a good rookie.
I thought he could have got drafted higher coming out of Michigan.
Then Simons, the Ohio State Buckeye, had that a good rip out at the end of the game.
But their physical team, Gannon's culture is coming along.
You see how he dealt with the off-the-field thing.
running back. I think he took ownership. This team is going the right way. That's a tough
division. It's a tough division. Very, very, very good division, so we'll see how far
they can go this season, but they have weapons on the outside. Marvin Harrison, Julian, came
along. McBride is one of the best tight-ins in the national football league. So yeah,
they can roll. Yeah, they can definitely roll. And speaking of that, here's some Hembo stats.
Least time trailing this season. Seahawks, about an hour or so, you know, the Cardinals
R-30, so Packers are 50, Rams, R-56. And look at the record
versus the Cardinals. That's why everybody
was so, like, kind of excited to
see if they could put it together.
Jacoby as their quarterback, they certainly
look like they're a real team. And then, on the
other side, Cowboys just, are they ever going to be
able to get it right? B.A., what's your takeaway from last
night? Is it more about the Cardinals? More about the Cowboys
in your eyes? Well, I thought it was more about the Cardinals.
They've been so close.
And, you know, talked to some people out there last week.
We did an interview. I said, just make
a damn play. All they need is one guy to make...
They lost, what, three games on a field goal
and last play of the game. In their division.
which is maybe one of the toughest divisions.
And I think with Jacoby Perced, he's calmed them down
and their defense is playing lights out.
Yeah, I think the Cardinals can really make a move.
Yeah, why not the Cardinals?
And congrats to bid well, yeah.
Yeah, unbelievable.
Just a couple years ago, and I mean, even your record now,
so I don't even want to act like life is great right now.
It certainly can't be.
But just a couple of years back, they were getting F minus, F minus, F minus, F minus F on everything
in the building, okay?
Team was still able to win.
somehow and still able to be good whenever BA was there and a couple different errors.
But then they were just like, we pay a quarterback, we put a clause in there that can't play
video games, starting a mile hour. It's like, okay. Whoa. What's going on here?
And then, you know, they're in a division that's very good. And then they would win some games
and then inevitably lose a lot more games. And it's like it felt like they were potentially
going to be in just a spin cycle. We got a BS or no BS with BA later that's going to
maybe answer that question. Like, what does he think ownership and what does he think the Cardinals
are going to do going forward? Because the staff,
are getting lied.
Yeah.
Stats get a lot.
Look at them both.
Losing records.
Uh-oh.
Losing records.
Both of them got it.
But points per game,
25.7 versus 18.8.
That's a touchdown, brother.
Full touchdown.
That's a full touchdown.
And yards per game.
Go ahead and put that math together, too.
That's about 70.
That's almost full football field.
So if it's a touchback,
you're scoring a touchdown there.
That's another touchdown, right?
They're in yards per game.
So Jacoby Percent has certainly looked good with the Arizona Cardinals.
They have a losing record.
Who knows what they are going forward.
What we do know is today.
it's trade deadline day
that's right
4 p.m. today
teams have an opportunity to say
we are a good team
we want to be a great team
let's go get the one miss and peace
most recently
Jacoby Myers traded from the Raiders
to the Jacksonville Jaguars
congrats to the Jacksonville Jaguars
making moves here at the trade deadline
to try to make their team even better
that has to feel good
if you are a Jacksonville Jaguars fan
Jacoby Myers coming from the Raiders
Brian Thomas Jr., number one
wire receiver dealing
with a little bit of an injury.
Travis Hunter,
obviously another wide receiver for their team
currently on IR.
So Jacksonville Jaguars were a little bit light
in the wide receiver department.
They try to make a play.
Adam Schaefter broke that news.
I believe he'll be joining us here
in a ladies and gentlemen,
senior NFL insider at ESPN, Adam Schaeffer.
Sheffey, thank you for joining us.
This is kind of going to be the thing today.
We will just cold FaceTime you
as the trades come through your Twitter account.
Tell us about the Jacopi Myers trade
and how, did everybody know,
Jacoby was on the market.
Well, he had asked for a trade earlier in the season, Pat,
and the Raiders knew that he was on an expiring contract,
said to expire after this year.
So when Jacksonville stepped up in Auburned a fourth and sixth-round pick,
make sense for a Raiders team that's going to want draft capital
to go out and move him for that particular term.
Jacksonville had been today with 13 draft picks.
Even after this move and trading their one to Cleveland last April,
They still have 11 drafts in the 2026 NFL draft.
And so Jacksonville wanted to show up the wide receiver position.
We've got Travis Hunter on IR with the knee injury.
He's out definitely at least three more weeks, quite possibly longer.
And then you also have Brian Thomas, their wide receiver.
He's a low-grade high-angle screen.
Now, he thinks he might be able to play this week, but you don't know.
And they want to do everything they can.
Hey, you're covering the speaker.
You're covering the speaker, I think.
I'm trying to figure out what's best.
The speaker or the average?
We'd like to be able to hear you can't cover.
You're covering a speaker, I think, again, right now.
You've got to leave the speaker open so we can hear the voice go into it.
You were kind of cutting into it.
You were talking about the injuries around Jacksonville there whenever you kind of cut apart.
Jacoby Myers, good fill in for them for that particular department.
And Jacoby Myers, you said, ask for a trade.
Were there more people interested, more teams interested?
and how indicative is that of the rest of the day
for some of the teams that maybe didn't get Jacoby Myers?
Well, the one team that also called on him,
I said, how do I get myself in the picture?
Here we go.
The one team called on it was Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh expressed some interest in Jacobi Myers,
but obviously Jacksonville really stepped up
to get something done here.
Those are the two teams, I think,
that really wanted to add Myers to their roster.
I know Buffalo has been mentioned,
But Buffalo did not check in on Jacobi Myers, to my understanding.
They were interested in other players.
Jacksonville, like I said, Travis Hunter, out with an injury.
Ryan Thomas Jr. has a low-grade high ankle screen.
He thinks he can play Sunday, so we'll see how that works out for them.
But they want to give Trevor Lawrence as many weapons as possible.
This team in position to make the playoffs.
So they had Jacobi Myers today.
You're the man.
We appreciate you.
We'll follow along with your Twitter account as trade deadline looms three hours.
48 minutes from now.
Ladies and gentlemen, Adam Schaefter.
It's about to be 47, I guess.
That was a really good hit by Adam Schaefter.
One of the best.
But that's what Trade Deadline Day is.
We have no idea what's going to happen.
I assume there's some things that are about to come out of left field even for
Adam Schaefter because any trade is possible.
Yesterday we put this graphic up about the potential trade candidates.
Jacoby Myers is on there and the possible buyers.
We had Jacksonville Jaguars on there.
So, I mean, if you put more than half the league on there and you're going to hit, we did.
So I'm pretty proud about that.
Way to go, D-Bone. DeBone, peace and some things together.
Any trade being possible is fascinating.
B.A., whenever you're a coach and you know your team's close,
and you see your team make a play in that trade for a player,
how do you go about handling, introducing guy to team?
For instance, Christian McCaffrey was traded from the Panthers
to the 49ers at the trade deadline, middle of the season.
49ers, pretty good team, okay, pretty good team.
Christian McCaffrey gets there.
Kyle Shanahan comes out very openly and says,
hey, this is Christian McCaffrey's team.
We're going to give him a ball in the backfield.
We're going to throw it to him.
We're going to let him throw the ball.
They do that immediately.
If you get one of these weapons,
what does it like for a coach trying to make sure that person feels comfortable,
while also not maybe ruffling any feathers with the locker room that you currently have?
Yeah, and most of the time it's because of injuries.
You know, and you've got a good football team.
You've got a chance maybe to get into the dance,
so one guy can make the difference.
And he really don't have to say much.
The guys are excited.
Hey, they're pumped.
We made a move.
Coach believes in us.
We think we can win this thing.
one missing piece
embrace this guy
let's get him going
in our system right away
let him fill our culture right away
and let's roll
did you guys make any big trades
I mean obviously
the Pittsburgh Steelers
weren't really known
for doing that
during the trade deadline
whenever you were there
Colts we traded
were you here for
the Trent Richardson trade
no
that was
Trent Richardson good guy
Trent Richardson was nice to me
Jim Ursa was tweeting
okay rest in peace
love you
okay Jim's right here
miss you too
We do.
Daughters are kicking a lot of ass.
Hell you.
Yes, indeed.
And the big three are kicking ass right now, obviously.
So there's none of that.
But we do much.
Jim was tweeting leading up to that trade about, like,
earth-shattering trade coming.
And we're like, holy hell.
Got a pretty good team here.
I'm excited to see what we do.
Going to change football.
He's tweeting.
He's hyping this up, and this never really happened with the goals.
And then all of a sudden, it's Trent Richardson for a first round.
We give up a first round pick for Trent Richardson.
I think Boom Herron was our running back at the top.
time. He was doing, boom, boom. The crowd was starting to say, boom.
Like, he was starting to, like, catch on a gimmick.
Like, boom was actually becoming, like, a guy.
And then all of a sudden we traded for Trent Richardson and everybody was like,
okay, all right, we're going to hit Trent Richardson. Okay, okay, there's going to be a thing.
And then it felt like the coaches felt obligated to, like, force feed him, if that makes sense.
Like that, it was almost like, okay, he's worth the number one.
I think we had a mod Bradshaw, too.
No, Bradshaw came after we met Vic Ballard.
Yes.
I don't know if he had started his run yet.
but he was drafted in that same luck draft class.
But, yeah, Trent Richon was, what, the third pick in that same draft?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It was a big.
Here's the tweet, Bruce found it from Jim Hersey.
Serious trade wins swirling.
We're talking giving up high pick for serious vets slash starter.
These deals off and crumble don't reach completion.
These sides.
Like, he had like four of them.
He was like really talking about how big it was coming.
So we were kind of excited.
Like, we were pretty, I was very excited.
I'm like, who's?
This is incredible.
I can't wait to see who my new teammate is.
And then Trit Richardson comes in.
He was like, Trump was cool, Trump was nice.
I don't know if he felt as comfortable with coming into our locker room as maybe other places.
I think, you know, it was like an interesting time.
He told a story about that, actually.
Trent Richardson did about how that's kind of like when he lost his love for football,
was when he was traded from Cleveland to Indy because he just always assumed,
like, I'm always going to be a Cleveland Brown.
I was a top five pick.
Like, this is my home, just like Alabama.
And he said that's when he realized, you know, the NFL is a business versus what he was used to.
You didn't get a bit jaded whenever it says, we don't want you anymore.
But you would hope that the spin is like, well, this team loves you so much.
Yeah.
So you come there.
And I don't know how those conversations went or whatever.
But obviously with Jim Ursey tweeting about it was going to be big.
But yeah, you could sense that that kind of was.
And, you know, he was, once again, Trent was always cool to me.
I felt like we had good relationship, but it went how it went here.
And we had a very, we had a good team.
like we had a a good team and how we were rolling there but i remember thinking to myself it would
be so sweet if we did get like a game wrecker yeah like randy moss gets straight you know in the
middle of season everybody in new england we are random moss like that type of move could happen today
for an entire team an entire building an entire fan base the titans traded edge rusher
draymont jones to the ravens for a conditional uh fifth round pick per sources now congratulations
Coach B.A., what are your thoughts on edge rusher Draymont Jones going from the Titans who, you know, we all kind of see it.
We all kind of see what's happening with them this year, although we believe Cam Ward's a guy.
They've already fired their coach.
They're in the middle of a transition era.
And then the Baltimore Ravens are trying to go on a run here late.
What do you think the addition of Draymond does for the Baltimore Ravens?
I think it's huge because their past rushes has been inept at best.
And this guy can rush the pastor.
And he's going to be allowed to use Kyle Van Nuay different ways.
and he can play so many multiple spots
and you get him on the edge
maybe Kyle rushing on the weakest link
in the offensive line
I think they'll do a hell of a job
with him and he's going to be a big upgrade for him
here's the Ravens edge rusher stats
from Hembo here this season
for the ends and outside linebackers
39 pressures, that's fewest, six sacks
that's 28th out of 32, 19 quarterback hits
that's 27. Everybody's talking about
how that defense is, well whenever you can't
get to the quarterback and whenever you can't
apply any pressure at all. It's going to be hard to do anything else. You know, you look at the
defenses that are good. They're front four, very good. The teams that aren't good on defense,
normally front four, not that good. Usually you have to steal or Rob Peter to pay Paul. Whenever
your front four aren't great, you've got to take somebody from somewhere else and kind of shore
that up before anything else. Whenever you take somebody from somewhere else, gets what's missing
now, something from somewhere else. So whenever you talk about the best defenses, getting your
trenches figured out is the most important part of it all. Yeah, and it feels like you can't have
too many pass rushers or
offensive linemen. No matter what, when
it comes to the playoffs, there's always a team
that's there that, you know, is banged up
on O-line or pass-rusher, and it seems
to be the Achilles heel for a lot of
playoff teams once they get there.
Like, they traded one of their guys,
O-Wa Addafe,
Baltimore did, to the Chargers. So
it kind of feels like a replacement there,
but, I mean, this is one of those dudes who, as
a Patriots fan who played Tennessee,
he was one of their stand-out players, for sure.
He is sick necklace, too. I like the boxing
and the swag will fit in that Baltimore locker room, I do believe.
Bebut your thoughts.
I'm right there with you.
It always starts with up front.
You saw yesterday with the Eagles traded for Jalen Phillips.
Like when they went on that run and getting Brandon Graham back, that'll help too.
But when they went on that run, it started with those guys up front.
Whenever you can rush for and create havoc in that backfield for in the run game
and in the past game, it helps the DBs out tremendously.
So that's always a big boost.
He said conditional fifth rounder.
We're getting more details.
Albert Breer says the condition on the Ravens Titans trade.
If Draymond Jones has at least two sacks over the rest of the regular season and Baltimore makes the playoffs, Tennessee gets a fourth round pick rather than a fifth round pick.
These are all part of negotiations.
Well, what if he's really good for you guys, and you guys turn around?
You guys run a 500 minute.
We'll turn it into a fourth runner.
Deal.
Let's go ahead make that happen.
Now, if they're ass and they don't make the playoffs, obviously the Baltimore Ravens have an easier deal than the Tennessee Titans.
Now, are the Ravens going to be able to go on a run?
That is the question.
Cardinal is going to be able to go on a run.
That is a question.
And are the Dallas Cowboys dead?
Okay.
Dallas Cowboys bring in Mr. Wilson at linebacker.
Who is their linebacking corps currently there for Dallas?
Kenneth Murray has been there, middle linebacker.
Came over from the Chargers, former Oklahoma Sooner.
He can ride.
Sideline and sideline guy can be a little light and ass at times.
And, you can struggle downhill overshone.
I think his window opened up for him to get back healthy and get back in the lineup for
them as well.
But Logan Wilson, he's a good player.
Now, he fell out of good graces in Cincinnati.
We don't know what really went on behind closed doors.
Maybe you wanted some younger players, maybe some different players in the system.
But he was the guy for Lou Anuromo's defense for that run, the AFC championship run.
And over the last five and a half years, he leads all middle linebackers with, you see it right here on this shifty tweet with 11 interception.
So he can get his hands on the ball, make plays.
Smart guy can get guys lined up.
I'm sure he won't have a problem picking up this defense.
Obviously, he won't fix everything in Dallas.
it'll be a group effort.
But yeah, he's a good player to add to your core.
Are they dead, Donner?
You know, Jerry's coming out and saying,
hey, you can call me Jerry Kardashian.
You know, because I'm not scared
just make sure we're the topic of conversation.
Now, is that necessarily mean we can't win games?
No, I'm not saying that,
but I'm going to make sure we are certainly
in the middle of controversy, if needs be.
You're going to be talking about my team.
Now the entire conversation following that,
it's like, Jerry's telling the truth now.
Jerry's at the stage of life where he's just going to go ahead and let me go ahead and give you guys my actual feelings and my actual thoughts.
Did the documentary on the red carpet of the documentary said, I'll stir some shit up there.
Don't you worry about that?
Now he follows up even more with Stephen A yesterday saying, you know, I'm always, we're always a topic of conversation.
Even if we're not, guess what we're about to be because it's something I'm about to do.
That's the business that you're in Mr. Stephen A.
And that's also the business that I'm in Mr. Stephen A.
is that conducive to winning NFL games
where everybody says it's already hard enough?
You know, they talk about distractions.
Players get labeled a distraction.
Players get labeled a distraction.
This person, distraction, don't let them in your locker room,
get them out of the league.
What he brings is too much.
Jerry Jones is actually coming out saying,
I am a distraction.
A very, very, very, very expensive distraction at all times.
Is it a bad thing that Jerry thinks this way?
Or do you think it's okay
as long as the football side of it
is kind of separated from the state,
if that makes sense.
Yeah, I think everybody in Dallas is used to it.
You know, that show has been on for a long time.
And they're used to the drama and everything.
Yeah, as long as they're talking about us, good or bad,
long as they're talking about us, we're good.
Is that good for football?
I think so, but it's not necessarily good for their football team.
Logan Wilson, two years ago, Logan Wilson, hell of a trade.
This Logan Wilson, I'm not sure he even helps.
Well, Jerry's the GM.
So you think Jerry maybe has lost his season?
fastball here is the general manager speaking so openly about being a distraction to his own team
that I guess he owns as well. Owner Jerry might be getting in the way of managing Jerry by the
shit that owner wants to, you know, because I think GMs and coaches might have disagreements with
the owners, okay? Miss Blackburn over there in Cincinnati said, these players just got to take
the deals. Be half. So then the GM, Duke Togeman's probably like, why are we, that is not the right
thing to say. There's always disagreements, I think, between GMs and.
and owners because of something.
You know, that's just the most recent one that pops in my mind.
Right now, I wonder if GM Jerry ever sits down and goes,
God, this owner, Jerry.
The hell's he doing it?
He cannot help us.
He cannot help us.
He's in the way all the time.
And I think Dallas Cowboys fans are saying the same thing.
And I think my favorite part of it all,
this entire evolution of how people view Jerry Jones
as a general manager of the Dallas Cowboys.
I think we all agree that he's not doing that, right?
We know that that's just a fictitious title.
Is that what we're saying?
I think he has owner's saying.
and stuff, but he's not doing
day-to-day GM stuff. No, he still kept
out. Stephen Jones is doing the phone calls every single
day. I assume his family's taking...
He was standing on a honey hole
three miles underneath his cowboy
boots that he was wearing, talking
to Wall Street, you think I care
about the Dallas defense? I'm
standing above $100 billion. I need to
get my pipes three miles deep
here because nobody else's pops can get
that deep. I'm spending $1 billion
on this rig that
will turn into a mammal that will
and cough this natural gas out at a hundred billion dollar rate.
So it's like, I think he's got other people doing the day-to-day shit.
And then owner Jerry comes in and says, I'm not paying Micah.
Me and Micah already have a deal.
Now, the GM, especially with a deal with Micah, would have to consult with the owner anyways.
So I think he's having the same say that most owners have, where if they don't want something to happen, it's not going to happen.
If they want something to happen, it's going to happen.
But I think the day-to-day shit's moved on from him, in my eyes, just from outside looking in.
Well, and if you just look at it, like, based on all the stuff you just said, and then, you know, whether it's right or not or true, I guess, you read the T leaves and they're talking about, like, well, Dallas is interested in Bradley Chubb.
Like, there are all these people around the league, all these players that they're allegedly calling about and trying to help sure up the defense.
Like, if that is true, then, like, Jerry, if he is the acting GM, like, he would have to be in his office on phone calls, exactly, all the time.
And I think you talk about the Parsons stuff.
I think that might have been like the breaking point.
Like it melted something in his brain
because he just like, this guy was supposed to wear the star
his entire career.
We had a handshake deal.
He was going to be, you know, the captain of our defense moving on.
Because like even now, I mean, how far removed from that are we?
And he's talking with Stephen A and it's just like it still comes back.
That's, I think we have the clip of what he said about it.
One time, not even in the hottest of days
in two of days, in August, in Texas, between 11 in the morning or when they quit practicing
or four in the afternoon, did I never see any one of these two go over and lay on a damn
training table in front of a million people? This is not fair. Micah's not here. I want to
tell you something, I really think a lot of Michael Parsons, and it wasn't a question of wanting him
on the team, but
to annoy him
in terms of that, and everybody
else looking at him, you better
have some thinking.
Is he going to be a made man for the Dallas
Cowboys? I see this guy laying over the training
table. What the hell is he's from?
Stand up down there. I never
seen these men
made Cowboys.
Okay, you think of the Cowboys, who do you think?
You think he's laying over a
training table? Yeah, right. He's on all fours.
on the side whenever he's not even playing.
That is who he is.
You think about Emmett Smith?
You think Emmett Smith is ever laying down with a, he said, with a million people with
their eyes on a star.
They're watching our brand.
And we got our guy laid out of the table.
He ain't going to be a made cowboy never in my mind.
And so maybe it was made up through certain different decisions or certain different
happenings.
Or maybe Jerry found all these things looking back once he felt disrespected by my, yeah, this
guy, I knew he wasn't a good.
What do you do?
And then his kid goes, remember he laid a training table.
I do remember that.
That was it.
What do he do?
He also didn't throw his shit of what?
Yep.
Left his towel in the, yeah.
I remember.
So Jerry, I think, was collecting info to justify, I'm right about this, right?
And then maybe now he feels even more vindicated.
But to your note about, like, maybe it broke him, maybe it just, like, kind of exposed him.
Yeah.
Maybe it just kind of exposed who he is at this stage of everything.
I'm not.
It's on the players for me.
because we talk about, we talked to Big Mike,
when we spent that time with him in the draft
and we asked him about, you know,
how was it in Dallas and how was it dealing with Jerry?
Because everybody kind of wants to know that.
He's like, it's not really a problem
because when you're in that line,
when you're in the locker room, when you're on the field,
like we watched the game last night.
Dallas had plenty opportunities.
Like, even late in the game,
they had an opportunity to make a run down there.
Javonte Williams fumbles the ball.
We had Ferguson fumbled the ball.
Pickings with a penalty that, you know,
maybe insignificant, but in that moment
where everything counts, the Aubrey,
You had all these different opportunities from the team, from the guys on the team, whether there's players.
I wouldn't even put it on the coaches.
I think the coaches put him in good position.
Duron Bland, he got paid a bunch of money, which he earned.
He had a terrible game last night.
So, yeah, we can sit here and say, it's the Jerry shit.
But when you, he has drafted well, whoever's running the show, if it's Stephen, if it's Jerry, he has drafted well, the decisions to pay who you pay.
Trade Michael Parsons, that's, you know, that's a big decision.
We'll see how that plays out.
You know, one of the best pass rushes in the league in his prime.
We'll see how he pays out.
But, I mean, those players had plenty of opportunity kind of all season long and last game.
The defense has been shitty all year long.
But the offense, I feel like they could have put up 34 and outscored that team if they needed to.
So, yeah, I'm putting it.
I know Jerry can be your talking point, but I'm still putting it on the players out there.
Yeah, I agree.
It might be hard to focus.
So, you know, Miami Dolphins have a lot of things to battle when it comes to focus and attention on stuff.
Dallas has a lot of distractions to go away.
You got to get the right guys.
in there, I think. The Dallas Cowboys currently have
the right guys. We shall see. Here's
a stat, though, about their defense.
Arizona won 7 to 13 on third down
last night. Cowboys opponents are
61 of 116 on 3rd down this season.
That is the worst rate, 53% by any
defense in the last 40 years.
So that's money, Don,
is what they call. And guess what?
They're broke. There ain't no money
down there in Dallas except for in that
honey hole that's three miles
deep to Jerry Jones is trying to get access to.
Yeah, there was another step that came out that
said, like, if you take all of the starting
quarterbacks, they've played this year so
far, I believe they've thrown like 22
touchdowns, four interceptions,
their passer rating is ridiculous. Yeah, here
we go.
112. Yeah, 112. The second highest in the NFL.
So essentially, like,
the opposing quarterback is
putting up like an MVP performance against their
defense week in, week out. Jacoby,
Bo Nix, Jaden Daniels, Marcus Marriota,
Bryce Young, Justin Fields, Jordan Love,
Caleb Williams, Russell Wilson, Jalen
Hertz. Name's not seen on there.
Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes,
Lamar Jackson, Danny Dimes this year.
Aaron, you name it. There isn't really
any of the... Not a murder's row.
It's not there yet. Yeah, not all these guys
potentially Hallfamous. Without a doubt. Okay, let's not
even dive into it. Coach, whenever...
Okay, I guess there's... Let's go to
ladies and gentlemen's perfect time
for one of our favorite segments that we've ever had.
Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for BS or
no BS with B.
Yeah, NBA.
We talk about these quarterbacks.
We talk about these quarterbacks.
Let's talk about two quarterbacks in Arizona.
You know, there's some people saying out there,
Jacoby Percette will be the Cardinal's starting quarterback over Kyler Murray for the rest of the season.
Is that BS, if he's healthy?
Is that BS or no BS, BA?
Oh, that's BS.
Oh, what?
Too many dollars involved in this one.
And the ownership, they've had Kyler for seven years.
They gave him big, big bad of money.
He's coming back.
As soon as he's healthy, he's going to be back in there.
There's no doubt.
Jacobi is carrying him.
They're playing better with him, but they will not make that move.
Okay, so you think this will be a contractually obligated move to put Tyler back on the field.
And Gannon ain't going to have enough josh to go in there and say,
no, this is what I want to do for the good of the team.
Totally.
This is going to be a top decision.
Now, if he fails, when we put him back in and he fails,
Maybe we'll go back to Jacoby.
But Kyler's starting when he's healthy, I promise.
Well, maybe Kyler's gotten better from watching Jacoby here, Dee Butch.
But I think a lot of people are saying, this feels like Gannon and the boys are riding with Jacoby.
And BA's like, well, it doesn't matter, yeah, because there's a check that's heading to the other guy that is going to certainly be one to be seen on the field.
That's a tough decision, though.
Yeah, and it certainly makes sense.
Some of those decisions are kind of out of our pay grade in the locker room.
But being in that locker room, you see how the offense is rolling, how it's moving with Jacoby under center running the show.
I'm sure offensive players for sure.
But even the whole team, defensive players, special teams, it's just different.
It's just their first win out with him under a helm.
But yeah, it'll be a big decision as far as keeping that locker room together.
But with all that money, just like the conversation with Brock Purdy and Mac Jones.
Mac Jones has been playing well spending it.
But when you got all that guaranteed money to Brock Purdy, you'll assume when he comes back and he's fully healthy, he'll take over.
But, I mean, we'll see because it looked damn good.
Yes, he did.
And it's also like, and I don't want to compare it to our situation
because it is vastly different.
Kyler's been paid a significant amount of money.
But it's like Anthony Richardson had so much upside.
Still has so much upside.
Excited to see how it all goes, wherever it goes.
Hopefully for us, he ends up being a starting quarterback somewhere else.
And Danny Dimes are a quarterback for 10 years.
And everything we're doing right now happens until I'm 48 years old.
That is what the goal is.
here. But it's like the entire offense is much more comfortable whenever they know that the
quarterback understands the entire offense. So like whenever the guy who is kind of making the
decisions and setting everybody up and ultimately making, you know, the play to work or not
work, when that person has a understanding of everything, I feel like everybody buys in a
lot more. Like Danny Dimes just knowing exactly what every play is supposed to be in putting
everybody in the right position, I think that inspired and motivated Jonathan Taylor. I think
Jonathan Taylor knew he was coming into a season where he was going to be put in the best position
basically every single play. I think the offensive line was inspired coming into the season that
they know that the guy behind them is going to be on the same page as them and also put them
in the best position possible. And then the wide receivers, I think they came into the year knowing,
hey, if I'm open, this guy's going to get me the ball and he's not going to miss me by 15, 16 yards.
I think just whenever you have somebody that can execute the offense, kind of make sure everything is
right for the offense, I think it's more so than just on the field.
off the field, it motivates
to your point. The staff, too.
Even the coaches, I guess, that's a lot better for you guys
whenever the quarterback is like
a coach on the field as opposed to
somebody that maybe isn't there yet
in a full understanding of what's supposed to happen
every play. Yeah, I think that might have been
Kyler four years ago. But I mean,
he took him to those close games.
They didn't finish. Yeah.
They didn't finish. You've got to finish in this league.
And like I always say, the last two minutes
of the half, last two minutes of the game,
76% of the games were decided then, all right?
It sounds like you're not giving up on Kyler either.
Sounds like you think ownership's going to go in,
but you haven't given up.
Sounds like a lot of other people have given up on Kyler.
I've not paid close enough attention to Arizona,
but it feels like conversation going into last night's game
was very much like Arizona's kind of done
with the whole, is Kyler a guy or not a guy conversation?
You're saying that conversation is not over, brother,
because you spell conversation there with a dollar sign on that
S right in the middle.
And that's the most important part.
$2.0.0.
Yeah. Conversation is happening.
Okay, let's go.
To the next BS or no BS, B.A.
Yeah, B.A.
There's a lot of good divisions.
But for the first time in NFL history,
all four teams in the NFC North will make the playoffs.
Is that BS or no BS, B.A?
I think that's no BS.
Whoa.
History will be made.
I think Chicago is playing extremely well.
Their schedule sets up.
Minnesota is the team
now they're
JJ's back
they had a big win
over Detroit
it's going to come down
when you look at
the tiebreakers
from the west
and the north
and right now
the Rams are in second
place but they
lose every tiebreaker
because they've lost
so many
conference games
and so this
this is going to be
really fun
all the way to
and the Rams have
a hell of a schedule
left
and it's tough
so I think
there's a great
chance that
all the teams
in the north
make it
how do you feel
about that tie
it would be the first
time ever
and I would say
you know
you say you know
you say you're
NFC North is saying your father's
fodder's NFC North anymore.
This is a powerhouse. The North is coming.
Could you imagine Wild Car Weekend
with that many NFC North squads out there battling?
Yeah, I mean, that is the... I mean, if you're a team
in the NFC North, I don't love
the idea of having to play a divisional game
in, you know, the first round of the playoffs.
Like that just, you know, a team that
knows what you want to do
and, I mean, who knows.
But we'll see. I mean, there's a chance
too. Like, you guys have talked about it.
Like, I think this year especially,
has really illuminated the fact that
if you have a good team and you make
a big, you know, stride year over year
and you did finish last in your division
the previous year, like that schedule
does set up for you very well.
You know, you look at who the lions and the Packers
have to play, you know, in these non-division
or non-conference games
compared to who like the Bears and the Vikings
have to play. Like it's, I guess not the Vikings,
they were in second place last year, but the Bears especially.
It's like they are much better
than they were last year and they have that
light schedule where if they can keep going,
Like, they might win, you know, 11, 12 games.
So you're saying they're better than last year?
So you're saying they're good, better, and then there's a chance best.
I don't want to see the best, but they are definitely better than they were last year.
Leaps and bounds better.
Well, they're never going to let it rest.
I know.
Until good is better.
Yeah, and the better is best.
And there's a chance they're on that way, brother.
I know.
Caleb and BJ Ben Johnson really getting things going up there.
Let's go to the last BS or no BS with BA here.
Go ahead, D.
Oh, this is a nice one.
Nice and not concise.
All right.
I don't care that the chiefs are in middle of the dynasty.
I don't care that Jim Harbaugh is the head coach of the Chargers.
I don't care that Tom Brady owns the Raiders.
The Broncos are the best team in the AFC West.
Is that BS or no BS?
That is total no BS, baby.
Oh, what?
It took me a while, but I'm a Bowdox fan now.
But this defense is legit.
You win championships with defense and a really solid quarterback.
The running game with J.K. Dobbins, Cortland Sutton, Bowdox,
Bo Knicks with his legs
getting 40-50 yards a game
I really like where the Broncos are
and again this division
is a tough one. The Chargers have a little
bit of a lead as far as division
games but I think
the Broncos have the defense to go win this thing
I love Sean Peyton too
we're all Sean Payton fans and
he loves Bo Nick's they've only
continued to get better and better
they were Super Bowl darlings by a lot of people
going into the season nice to see them
seven and two and really doing damage
They have a couple tough losses, too.
You know, they've, there are two losses.
Good team.
Comes to some very, very, very good teams.
So I like that you're saying they're the best in the AFC West.
Another great division over there at least has a chance to.
Okay, let's get to your game balls.
B.A. is game balls.
Let's start in the NFC.
He picks one game ball for one player representing the entire NFC.
It goes to who, B.A.
And the NFC is Sam Darnels.
Out of back to Sam, Sam.
That first half, 14, a 14, 4th.
I mean, that game was over quick.
Great, great game.
How do you feel about him having an opportunity with the Vikings last year,
leading them to a number two overall seed in the NFC?
Didn't play his best games late.
They sent him out of town.
J.J. McCarthy's guy might work out for them certainly in the long run.
I like the cut of J.J.'s jibb for sure.
But he goes up to Seattle.
They got a great defense with McDonald.
And offensively, Jackson Smith and Jigba wants to be the best wide receiver in the league,
has a chance to certainly be that.
And Sam slices and dices.
What a perfect fit for him at this stage of his career, it feels like.
It really is.
JSN and him have a connection that's really special.
And, you know, they've got other weapons, too.
But that defense is legit.
And I really like where Seattle is right now.
Yeah, that uniform's awesome too.
All right, let's go to your AFC game ball.
Once again, he is picking one player from the entire AFC that deserves a game ball.
Go ahead, coach.
In the history of, we talked about last week,
anytime your name goes with, in the history of,
Cam Little, 68-yard field goal.
If winning points in the game,
great kick, man.
Yeah, it was a great kick. It was historic,
and we actually got a chance to catch up with Cam Little this morning.
Ladies and gentlemen, the man who holds the longest field goal
in the history of the NFL,
and it's not even his longest that he has kicked in an NFL-sanction game.
Ladies and gentlemen, 68-yard Bonner from the Jacksonville Jaguars,
and Wu Pig-Sui.
Ladies and gentlemen, Cam Riddell.
Yeah.
Pleasure to be on the show.
I'm excited, man.
I always wanted to be on the show.
Pigs Suey.
There it is, yeah.
We always get it wrong.
Yeah.
We try our best, Cam.
Thank you for joining us.
And you said you've always wanted to be on the show.
I, since watching you kick a ball,
has always been very fascinated
by how you create so much leg speed.
So let's just, let's dive into this.
I don't think you're like the most jacked guy.
I don't think you're...
No, that's a very fair statement.
Yeah, little is your last name.
I don't think you're tiny, but you're certainly not one of these massive guys.
Have you always had an incredibly strong leg?
Like in soccer, whenever you were growing up,
were you always the free kick taker, always had a strong leg?
And how did you get to this point?
Yes, I think that's where I kind of first started.
I was always good at taking free kicks and penalty kicks and all that stuff
kind of tied into me learning how to kick a football.
And obviously, going to,
Coles camps growing up, I never really had the fastest leg, and I developed a little later
in my high school career when I was going to these camps. I saw guys that had faster legs than me,
and I would always ask him, like, how are you guys getting your legs faster? Because at the end
of the day, that's what gets you the most power on the ball. And so, you know, started developing
a faster leg, and now it's like my best trade as a kicker, because obviously I'm a 6-foot-1, 175-pound guy
that cannot squat a huge amount. So everyone always asked me, how do you kick the ball so far?
I think ball contact and leg speed
is the key to kicking the ball so far and high.
Yeah, you're hitting the ball sweet.
Every time you're hitting that ball sweet, which is not easy.
You know, Vinnetary, I was very lucky to work alongside.
Obviously, everybody in the kicking world knows that in Venetary.
Vinny, whenever I got there, you know, I used to be a kicker in college,
and I had a strong leg, but I had no idea where the ball was going.
So his big thing was like, hey, you cannot sacrifice the sweet spot.
So if you have to swing 85% to hit the sweet spot, do that.
If you have to swing 75% to hit the sweet spot to do that.
Now, granted, if you can see.
swing hondo and hit the sweet spot that is where the magic that is where the magic comes and that's
where the cam little's of the world come in i do believe this generation of kickers bombing it further than
ever you had a 70 yarder in preseason against the pittsburgh steelers everybody loses their mind you're
like holy hell and then obviously the conversations about obrie in dallas you hitting that 68 yarder
now against the raiders because of the 70 yarder were you confident walking out there this was
going to be a make like that obviously has to be the mindset but
68 is so, you're so much closer to the other uprights than the ones that you're kicking to.
What is the mentality as you're walking out there, Cam?
Yeah, I mean, you kind of go out there and Logan, obviously, Logan and Ross Bolt do a great job of prepping me for this stuff.
Logan always thinks I hit the ball the best when I'm swinging the hardest.
And so I told them right as I was going out there to spot it, I said, I'm swinging hard at this football.
I'm making sure that I'm going to drill this thing.
And so, you know, I spot the ball and I'm looking down to the spot, and I tell him that.
And he's like, hit that ball hard, bowl.
get it hard and obviously stayed left middle and just stuck dead straight down that left middle
the whole time and you go out there and you prep so much from deep in practice and you know
you're working with your opt for fun back there at 60 plus sometimes and then for it to finally
come to fruition again was so cool yeah in a real game too they won't give you credit for that 70
yarder you know they won't give you credit we will obviously because we've seen it before but 68
in the history books forever brother at least for the time being now talking about hitting
that 68 yarder. Last night there was an op.
Go ahead, Tone. Yeah, Cam, I don't know if you
were watching the game at all or not, but when
Aubrey goes back to 68, and we had
mentioned it yesterday on the show where
like, oh, those 68, you know, this
could get broken this season. Aubrey's going
tonight, and then he steps back to 68.
Is he one of the guys, like, when you go back, and you're
like, oh, no, like, is he going to do it tonight?
What? Ladies and gentlemen,
we have breaking news.
Cam's full
interview will be available
on YouTube and all the other social media platforms.
The Jets are trading Sauce Gardner
to the Indianapolis Colts
because the Colts need secondary help
and the Jets is the Jets sauce.
Welcome to Time, brother.
Okay, this defense at Luana Rumo runs,
D-Buddy. What will Sauce Gardner be able to do
in this defense as you put your ears back on?
Shout to Cam Little for joining us.
Full conversation with him will be available.
Sauce Gardner, you're going to love Indianapolis.
You're going to love this place.
We're going to love you.
Lou Anirumo's defense with Sauce Gardner, what does this mean?
I mean, with everything that Lou does,
as far as all the different things that he throws at offenses,
when you have a chess piece like Sauce who could just go up and lock down a guy on either side of the field,
who can lock up a number one receiver.
I mean, it's going to be tremendous.
I'm blown away by this trade just because of the amount of money
that we've invested in the secondary already.
This offseason is bringing over Cam Bynum,
paying Mooney, All-Pro Mooney,
and now you have two, what, $25, $30 million cornerbacks
on each side of field with Mooney's healthy.
So, I mean, this is unbelievable.
This is completely different than what Chris Ballard has done in the past.
But this is another sign that the big three, they're all in,
and they want to win the championship, and they want to win it now.
Okay, so I sent a text this morning to the building, okay?
And our source says told us, I want to read the exact quote,
here. I said, you guys cooking today, question mark.
Response I got was buckle up. Okay. So there was a chance that this was going to be
exciting. Now, NFL free agency deadline is always a lot of, a lot of, ah, sizzle, okay, a lot
of sizzle, no steak. Yeah. There's a lot of talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk. But when push
comes to shove to actually make the decision, to send an all pro out of the building and let somebody else
reap the benefits of that?
That's a huge push-comes-to-shove moment
that has to happen.
The Jets moving on from Sauce.
What does this mean for the New York Jets?
Just paid him.
Legit.
And Aaron Glenn, defensive coach.
Corner, former corner.
Yeah, so I am very fair.
Coach Bea, what is your thoughts on
why the Jets would make this move with Sauce,
especially after they just paid them?
And what do we think is, let's not even project
what's in return, because we will always be surprised,
Bowley, what is going to know.
Colts are trading two first round picks.
Holy shit.
Wait a minute.
The hell?
Sauce, that's awesome.
I'm pumped you here, I am pumped for here, sauce.
Two first round picks for a corner is, so now we got our answer on why the Jets moved on.
Yeah.
Now we got our answer for why the Jets moved on.
Two first round picks to the Jets for a corner in Sauce.
Listen, Sauce, we're going to love you here, okay?
We are very, very, very.
And now, the way you start looking at this, if you're the Colts is our team is going to be a mature team.
All of a sudden, we got guys at basically every single spot.
Our offensive line pretty much locked down, and we got them for a while.
Wide receivers, we got a few years with all of them.
On the defensive side, we sign a bunch of guys to a bunch of deals.
We got people locked up for a while.
So I guess you would look at the draft as a potential chance to supplement somebody,
but really the way it's being viewed here clearly is like,
we don't need the draft right now.
We got guys.
We got a team that can go.
So let's add a piece that is elite to a defense that has to get better for us to go where we want to go in the Super Bowl.
Two first rounders feels like a lot.
Senior NFL insider for ESPN, ladies and gentlemen,
Shefti joins us.
Shefti, good reporting, brother.
We appreciate that.
Two first rounders for Sauce Gardner was everybody or anybody else in the market for sauce,
or was it just the Colts?
And did they have to get up two ones because that's what the Jets needed to let him out of the building?
We got Rashid Jehijit getting traded right now, too.
That just came down.
Hold on one second.
To where?
Hold on one second.
Hold on, hold on.
I'm tweeting.
I'm tweeting. We're going nuts here right now.
Okay, hold on.
So, shit, Rishi, um, sauce gardener, two first round picks.
We'll call you back.
We'll call you back. Do your thing.
Do your thing.
We'll call you back.
We'll call you back.
Great job.
We'll call you back.
We appreciate you, Shafti.
Lock on here in the back of the minivan.
Gained on a lot of service.
Love this.
Two ones, Coach V.A.
What is this message that's kind of being sent you think by both parties?
Great move for the Colst.
The two ones are going to be from like 26 to
32.
Yeah, exactly.
Like, Sauce Gardner, he's worth this.
To put your defense out there like this,
I think it's a fantastic move by Chris Ballard and the big three.
And, again, that locker room is going to be jacked up coming to practice.
Yeah, I think so.
And Sauce's vibes feel like should be great in our Indianapolis locker room, I think.
Established culture.
Yeah.
And you talk about, there's basically early second rounders here.
Two of them, though.
Two-toes for Sauce is still a massive trade.
Oh, yeah.
If that's already viewed, even though they're going to be late first, probably 30.
second couple times. Exactly. If I had to guess with the way this coach team, let's look at
standings right now. Yeah, Colts are winning the Super Bowl. So they got the 30 second pick for the
next couple of years. Way to go, Jets. Yeah, right. We pick up all pro sauce gardener. He's going to be
all over the place. Do you think anybody else was in the market for sauce? Did people know
sauce was on there? Or do you think this was a targeted attack from Chris Ballard? We'll offer up
two ones. There's no way they'll be able to turn that down. They're in the middle of a shit storm.
They're trying to build this whole thing over. We take on a contract and they get two ones.
This would be an easy sell, we can get them?
Or do you think maybe sauce was on a market a little bit, and Chris Bauer caught
wind and said, wait a second, I love some sauce out here in Indianapolis?
I don't think anyone thought he was on the market.
Like, this is why today can be awesome, because we hear all these names, and it's, you know,
like it's guys that, you know, aren't moving the needle like Sauce Gardner is,
but you look at everything.
Like a lot of times, you know, someone knows something, but I hadn't seen, you know,
the Jets have been talked about a bunch in terms of who they might.
be willing to give away Jermaine Johnson,
Breece Hall, guys like that.
Sauce Gardner, you just assume,
especially with the Aaron Glenn connection,
him being a cornerback,
you assume that this guy was going to be a pillar of their defense
for the next 10 years.
So no, I think this is just a situation
where Bauer looked at him.
He said, you know what, I really like this guy,
and I want him.
And the big three said,
I'm about to, Carly,
writing her notes down,
I'm about sick of watching this defense.
It's going right now.
And we've got a lot of injuries back there as well.
So to your point about the big three,
they're taking on a big contract
I mean that's more money out the door
so you got Carly
Kalen and Casey saying
let's go try to win this Super Bowl here
early leaders of the trade deadline by a
wide wide wide margin
I don't talk are they best owners in sports
they're best owners in sports all of a sudden
I'm starting to wonder this is crazy
and the two first round picks obviously
that's crazy I don't care if they're late first round
those are still two first round pick in this climate
that's insane but it also lets you
know in my opinion how confident
confident they are in Daniel Jones going forward because now I, for 1,000% expect Daniel Jones
probably sign an extension before this season is over because obviously this is going
to be our quarterback of the future. We finally found this guy. And then going forth, so my mind
is still blown because of the moves that they already made this offseason. But to B.A.'s
P.A.'s is the person that can come in the building and completely shift that needle on the
defense because if we looked at our defense, the one thing we are missing is kind of like that
elite closer on the front end.
live from a chaotic car ride.
Adam Schaefter's back. Shephtey?
Oh, he's on.
Okay, who are you? Who are you?
I love this.
There's a lot. There's more coming.
There's more coming.
Okay, we'll call you back.
We'll call you back. We'll call you back.
Yes.
What's going on?
Yeah. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
No, that's not going.
Yeah, I don't know. Yeah.
There's more coming.
Like, ladies of gentlemen,
Rashid, traded to the Seahawks from the same.
Coach BA, obviously, Diner in the NFC South.
You've seen Rashid Shahid,
zoom, down the sideline, catching a deep ball.
Your thoughts on this move for the Seahawks,
Sam Darnold gets another weapon for that offense
that has been spectacular.
Yeah, but J.S.N, and this guy, this guy is a game record.
Boy, he's a touchdown waiting to happen.
Maybe the fastest guy in the league play speed right now.
Oh, yeah.
And more than just a receiver, he's on reverses.
Just get the ball in his kid's hand.
He's electric.
Let's talk about Schneider up there in Seattle.
Spinning?
quite a, remember, us included,
said, what's this guy doing?
It kicks Pete Carroll out of the building.
Pete Carroll, by the way, still has his fastball.
One for two.
Could have kicked an extra point.
Would it tied the game.
One for two for the good of football to try to win it.
They end up losing it.
That's another L.
They got a lot of those.
People are thinking they're going to be unloading
Jacobi Myers out the door already this morning.
So I don't want to talk about that decision for them not being the right one.
Obviously, the Seattle Seahawks people feel great about the decision to move on from
Pete Carroll, move on from D.K., move on from Ty,
move on from Gene.
move on from that entire era.
We're going to paint the fucking walls, actually.
Paint the walls.
Okay, we're moving on from all of this.
We got a defense coordinator from Baltimore.
He's going to come in here.
We're going to change this entire culture.
I think we all said, what an idiot, this guy.
This is dumb to be able to do this.
But what we're seeing is a completely different version of the Seahawks.
This team does not look like the teams of the past.
This team is its own iteration of the Seattle Seahawks team.
They're electrifying to watch.
This is only going to help.
Rashid Shahid is so.
fast. So good. I don't
speed kills matchups
is what every person in the NFL
says. Every phase. Special teams, defense
offense. If you have speed, can't
coach it first of all. You're either god or you
don't. And you can have all the plans
in the world for somebody. And if they
just run around you and by
you, there ain't shit you can do about it.
And this is one of those types of guys. And now
Sam Donald, who's having an MVP year,
has him on the opposite side of him somehow
of JS. So now you're going to
a very good quarterback. But even the
play caller. Kuback was in New Orleans
a couple seasons ago. It was that last
season. We were all putting them in the Super Bowl after that
first, you know, four games started they had.
He was a big Rashid Shaheed. He was a huge
part of that. You talked about playing for him.
Like, he's not going to be a guy that you're
actually going to be able to game playing for
as a defense because you got a double team
JSN. And Horton has been coming along.
He's making, I think he just had two touchdowns
on Sunday night before him. And then now you got
Rashid Shahee, who's kind of going to be that
forgotten guy who can take the top off any
defense or any given down. So, yeah, this is
another element and another sign of a team that's all in to go and win the championship this year.
Yeah, and for both those teams that are clearly not all in,
like now with the Jets, kind of all eyes turn to Garrett Wilson and Jermaine Johnson.
Like if Soss Gardner's getting moved, even though they just paid him,
you assume Garrett Wilson might because he's also going to fetch multiple first round picks,
possibly, you know, more than that too.
And then for the Saints, it's Chris Oliva and Alvin Camara.
Like it feels as though Chehide was also in this kind of list,
but there are all these other big names on both of these teams still that are available.
Sauce, welcome to this city, man.
Welcome.
God.
He's a Midwest guy, too, so you should fit right in.
Yeah, he is, isn't he?
Oh, Detroit guy.
Detroit and Cincinnati.
New York, it's been real.
Big heart.
See you later.
Going to go try a winter boat in Indianapolis real quick.
Man.
Sauce, I can't wait for you to come out in the loudhouse, buddy.
That place is going to go crazy.
Oh, Indiana Midwest with the name Sauce, the amount of marketing.
Oh.
Welcome to the city, Sauce.
He kind of got a pay raise, too.
Going from Jersey, New York.
Taxes?
Yeah.
And once you buy everything out here, oh, so much.
Sauce, you're about to live like a fucking king.
Yeah.
Congrats to you, dude.
We're great to, it's very great to have you.
Hello, beautiful people.
And welcome back to our humble boat this afternoon on this BA day.
November 4th, 2025.
Hour 2 of the program begins right now.
Football.
Has a lot going on.
That cadence was from a man who is a coach at football for 47 years, B.A.
We appreciate it.
Coach went through BS or no BS with B.A. in the first hour
and gave out his game balls.
Congrats to Sam Darrell in the NFC and Cam Little in the AFC,
winning BAs game balls for the week.
Nine-year NFL vet.
Darius J. Butler is here.
Good to see you back, man.
Talks at the table.
here at Boston Connor and Antai Schmidt. Boys, wild trade deadline day.
Wow. Unreal. It's a wild trade deadline day. Now, you know,
Sauce Gardner is the main event, the marquee, the headline of this particular trade deadline day.
And where is the New York jet going? Well, obviously, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Because the Indianapolis Colts are all in. Chris Ballard makes a move with the New York Jets for
Sauce Gardner. We're two first round draft picks. Now, the Colts are thinking those draft picks
are going to be obviously late in the first round, probably 30.
second. And also, A.D. Mitchell, I am being told. A.D. Mitchell also sent to New York. So we give up
two ones, late ones, maybe the 32nd pick, both those times. And also A.D. Mitchell, who's
wide receiver that has not been getting on the field for the last three, four weeks since the
Rams game. In the Rams game, obviously, we saw the ball get dropped at a half yard line,
and then also a holding call away for the thing that called back another touchdown. We should
have beat the Rams. We lose the Rams. A lot of people say it's because
A. D. Mitchell. Jay Glazer.
Scoopage!
Jay Glazer's back in the game. He is.
He doesn't like to do the day to day. No, he doesn't.
But every once in a while, he'll drop in on a Sunday and say, hey, here's some scoopage.
And then here on trade deadline day, Jay Glazer has some scoge. That's crazy.
Yeah, you kidding me? I mean, any of the New York teams, A.G. Mitchell, yeah.
Stay tuned. More scopage coming.
Really? Is there a lot on the way?
Well, I mean, I'm not so sure the Jets aren't going to trade everybody.
Did you think
South Garden was going to get trade today?
I did not two first in A.D. Mitchell
that's a lot of people.
Well, it makes sense.
Ad. Mitchell, that basically paves the way
for, they are going to trade Garrett Wilson now.
I mean, you know, A.D. Mitchell,
Garrett Wilson is kind of like the same thing.
Six, seven.
Exactly.
Well said.
Well said.
So yeah.
Stay tuned.
I mean, I know Shephti's, you know,
well, I don't know how I'm going to choose,
shoehorn, six, seven, six, seven in there after.
You already did it.
But Shepter was basically in a foxhole, you know,
taking mortar rounds.
and 50-call bullets.
So, yeah, stay tuned.
More scoop in common.
Okay, Chefty was on two phones.
He puts the tweet out.
Coach received corner Sauce Gardner.
The Jets receive next year
and the year after's first round picks
and wide receiver ADD.
Wow.
That's a lot, man.
Can't wait to have you here in Indie sauce.
Listen, we don't need drafts, draft picks.
Okay?
We already got our team.
Now, immediate follow-up.
How much money do we owe sauce Gardner?
Well, it's like $600 and some thousand
for the rest of this particular season,
and then it's 26.
$26.1 million for the next five years.
So, you know, because of what the Jets already picked up
out of his $131.5 million contract,
we owe him $26.1 million for the next five years.
And then only $625,000 for the rest of this year.
Now, Jonathan Taylor needs a new deal,
and Danny Dimes certainly needs a quarterback deal.
Coach B.A., we're spending a lot of money.
We feel like we can go on a run.
We give up, I mean, two first rounders is a huge deal,
plus a player, AD Mitchell.
I don't think A D was going to, a fresh start for A.D. was really good.
Yes.
And let's not forget what happened right before that fumble.
Like that is what A.D. Mitchell was supposed to be.
That is the, he's a talented, talented dude.
Made some bonehead decisions, obviously.
But he is a very, let's see, a second round pick?
We watched him play in the college playoff.
Talented player, fresh start.
I don't think the Jets are going to move him from Gary Wilson, but who knows?
Just pay him.
I think this.
Like you would know.
them going all in for stacking up draft capital to go and get a quarterback to throw to Gary
Wilson and A.D. Mitchell and whoever else do they keep there. But we'll see.
Coach PA, we got Danny Dimes that needs to get paid. Let's assume we pay him.
Jonathan Taylor needs to get paid. Let's assume we pay him. We've already paid Pittman.
Alec Pierce is coming up on a contract on the defensive side. DeForest Buckner.
We've paid. I think Quentin Nelson offensive line. We've paid.
You got Moody. We've paid. Cam Bynum. We've paid.
Zaire. We've paid a lot of guys. We've paid a lot of guys. Feels like now is the window, right?
This is now officially the window where the Colts are expecting to win a Super Bowl. Coming into the season,
nobody outside of the Indianapolis Colts locker room and a few select Colts fans thought
that they could win a Super Bowl this year. I think the Colts thought that they had a very
good roster just needed a quarterback. They get Danny Dimes as their quarterback. They're not paying
them a lot of money. They decide to really make some plays to go all in here. What are your
thoughts on what the Colts are doing in roster construction
and can they win a Super Bowl
this year? I don't think there's any doubt.
They've got to stay healthy, obviously, but bringing
sauce in solidifies that back
in. And you said,
you get the other kid healthy, but
now you don't have to pay two first round picks.
So you can save them money.
Interesting. You can always put it on the back end.
There's ways of massage
that thing, the salary cap.
It's going to go up again. So
to me, spend it now. We
you got a chance to win, you go win.
All right, let's don't wait for the future.
You guys did that in Tampa pretty good, I think.
Hey, let's go get it, and we got it.
And Jason Light does such a great job.
We haven't lost much because Baker Mayfield came in
and saved us like Danny Dinams has.
And so it's the same thing.
Okay, well, hopefully we have the same outcome as you guys going all in.
And I think if you were one of those Colts fans before the season
that voted, I have no optimism in this team.
I do wonder how you feel on this particular.
their day, because we just get beat by
the Steelers pretty good. I mean, we got
beat by the Steelers pretty good. That was only a seven-point
game. It's got a hammer.
Don Tons, AP Town.
That was only a seven-point game, obviously.
We all watched that. But the Colts here,
are they acknowledging a mistake, you think,
against the Pittsburgh Steelers or what their faults are?
And what do you take from this move
from the New York Jets moving on from SOSCAR?
It was a close game, was a seven-point game.
Great comeback by the Colts.
I wouldn't say, I don't think the secondary
was an issue versus the
Steelers because that was more of a turnover issue, offensive issue for the Colts in that
game. But throughout that game, all the JJ Watt was talking about was, you know, how great
the offense was, but the, you know, the defense gives up a bunch of yards. That has kind of
been the Achilles heel so far, even though it hasn't bit them yet there. I think they were like
26 in yards or something like that, but they weren't giving up points. So adding sauce is obviously
going to help like help with that. And that is a huge move for Chris Ballard. Now he's been there
for a long time. Wouldn't say he was on a hot seat because they're having a great
season. He was on hot seat probably before the season, but this is a move to, you know,
go for the Super Bowl that was promised to us to this decade. Yeah, I think, you know, and also
Jim Ursay is obviously in the thoughts and the minds of everybody over there. And you're like,
you know what? It feels like we got a special season. Let's go ahead. Well, Jim, let's go for it.
Let's go for it, Pards. And I appreciate them doing that. Trade compensation has come in for
the Rashid Shaheed trade. Seahawks are sending a fourth and fifth rounder to the Saints for
Rashid Shaheed. That is normally the type of compensation that we're used to see it
on trade deadline day. Fourth and fifth rounder, fourth and sixth rounder. Two ones and a
player is not normal for trade deadline day. But here we are. The NFL is doing it again.
I do wonder if there was a memo sent out. Like, hey, we're fresh off of remember our worst
Sunday that we've ever had last week. Worse than 55 years. Let's make sure we don't do that
again. And also trade deadline? Let's get spicy here. Yeah. What if the NFL said? We're
sick of the talk. It's more walk.
Let's do this. Feels like the Jets and Colts
did that. And then, you know, Schaefter says
there's more on the way. What will
that be? What do you think Schaefter's alluding
to? I mean, it feels like a lot of the
biggest names that were coming into the day
expecting to be traded, haven't even been
traded yet. Now I actually
do believe Jalen Waddle
will get traded. I didn't think Jalen Waddle was going to
get traded until this Soss Garner came
through. And the cool part about Soss Garner,
probably making history. He's going to be the first player
to play in London and Germany.
in a five-week span, right?
Oh, yeah.
It's a good question.
How will that work?
He'll join the team this week.
I doubt he'll play this week.
Meet him in Berlin.
I mean, it's the middle of season.
Yeah.
How's that work, D-Bud?
I think he'll play this week.
He said you give up two first.
He's playing.
He's got three practices.
He's getting three practices, man.
He's got enough.
Play a lot of dude coverage.
You got that dude.
Okay, I like that.
We need that.
What's that?
I think he missed.
Then he and him and Garrett Wilson missed last game with some type of injury.
So I think if we're trying, if we're giving up
Oh, he's hurt?
He's got a bum knee.
It's not a big deal.
Not a big injury.
We wouldn't be giving up two firsts for him.
Look, I trust the big three.
But, yeah, I anticipate him to play this week.
Me too.
Okay, so he'll be in Germany this weekend, hopefully for the Indianapolis Colts defense.
And what if we just don't give up a touchdown ever again?
It's likely.
Very likely.
That we don't give up a touchdown?
I don't know how anybody scores on us, no.
And I don't know how anybody stops us.
Pretty good combo.
Yeah, it is, isn't it?
That is a good combo.
And sure, the Steelers had four, six turnovers, five of them, you know, against, what's that?
What was that about?
What was that defense?
That's a good team.
2005, Super Bowl was, they were in the building.
Yeah, I legitimately, when I saw the photo of Bill, Ben, Aaron, Tomlin, I go, wait a minute, Bill is that practice?
So they're letting Bill Kair talk to these guys?
don't necessarily love anything about that, because we've listened to Bill talk,
okay, and he is a Yenzer.
So whenever you talk about what a Steeler is, it's like he literally grew up in it,
and is it, and represented it, and won a Super Bowl for it.
So Bill Cower and his chin are like the depiction of what a Yinser Steeler is, okay?
So him being back in a Bill.
Ben Rotherzberger, longest-tenured Pittsburgh Steeler.
Then you talk about everybody that was on the field that won a Super Bowl and the guys that hung around.
you're talking about just legendary folklore around Pittsburgh
that the current Steelers have to hear about.
Like, they definitely go to events around Pittsburgh
and they hear about those guys were Pittsburgh Steelers.
Tommy Maddox is in this thing.
And the stories that I've heard about Tommy Maddox,
it's like people, yeah, Tommy fucking Maddox.
We love Tommy Gunn, you know?
So you talk about everybody, let alone Porter and Ferrier,
you name it, the group that kind of goes on and on.
But I think that group being in the building
provided an opportunity for the guys that are new to the Steelers,
D.K. McCaff, Aaron Rogers,
you know, Darry Slay gets injured.
Jaylon Ramsey.
That's not going to.
Jalen Ramsey, huge hit a couple of different ones.
I think it gave them, and not Johnny Smith,
who were very good players, I think it gave them an opportunity to be like,
oh, this is what, I'm going to want to be respected as a Steeler too.
You know, it almost like provides a little bit more of an emphasis on being great
whenever greatness is around from the past, I think, personally,
especially with that 2005 team coach.
Yeah, I haven't been a part of that 2005 team.
It was a very, very special unit.
These guys, they cared about each other more than any team I've ever been a part of.
Our Super Bowl 55 team was very close to that.
But, yeah, what a great, great group of guys right there, man.
It was fun, fun time coaching those guys.
Ike Taylor, obviously, in there looking incredibly cool.
You just, Fanica's in there looking incredibly sweet.
Did Dick LaBoe have the headset on?
I think so.
Do we have eyes on Dick LaBoe?
And that's a part of the problem.
Casey Hampton looks awesome, by the way.
It looks like he got out there and played.
right now.
I mean, them being around, I think help, tone.
Don't you think?
I mean, the defense played different.
T.J. played different than he had played all year, I think.
Even though T.J.'s already had a great season, and T.J. is who T.J. Watt is.
I think he felt an obligation to, like, represent his way.
I think that was something that was really kind of lingering in that place as they took out of quotes.
And I'll tell you what, I didn't like it as I was watching.
I agree with you, 1,000 percent.
It was cool pregame.
A lot of the defensive players were in the huddle.
like the hype-up circle that T.J. Watt does before every single game.
So, yes, they played motivated.
And I went back and watched the tape last night because I couldn't get ESPN to work,
so I couldn't watch Monday Night Football.
And the D-line just whooped the Indianapolis Colts offensive line to ask.
So that was part of it as well.
Yeah, and, yeah, I mean, lucky for me, I didn't turn off the auto pay to Hulu.
Sure.
Because I was once a Hulu guy.
I was once a Hulu guy.
Sunday ticket goes to YouTube TV.
so I got to go over to YouTube TV
Start doing YouTube TV
Wow
Superior product
Yeah this is what it's like
Yeah
It's really good
Coke and Pepsi
Yeah it is not even
I think it's
Whatever the case
For sports fans
It is really good
So this ESPN YouTube TV thing
is like a real
I mean this is a real
Hey
You guys need to figure this shit out
type situation for sports fans
because it felt like YouTube TV
was actually crafted for sports fans
Like that is like
hey, we're going to try to make this the best viewing experience for sports as you possibly
the quad box created for sports fans.
Now, there's people that aren't sports fans that are using that.
Have you seen some of the quad box options?
Oh, yeah.
When it, like, you go into, so I'll go on like somebody's bus or something.
I'll use somebody's bus for a night.
So I'm using their YouTube TV.
So it's like what channels they're used to and it's smart for them.
And it's like the quad box opportunities are like, okay, got a political show here.
We got a little cartoon here.
Oh, shit.
You got this down here and also you got sports here.
Yeah, I didn't even think about the non-sports fans.
Yeah, but sports goes over there.
So last night for Monday Night Football,
we're all kind of just in agreement that that was going to get done before Monday
football, right?
Yes.
This thing happens every single year with either CBS or NBC or Fox or who have you.
And it's always like, oh, at the time.
I think NBC, it just happened.
It did.
And it's always, oh, at the 25th hour, they come in and save the day.
And we don't miss any.
It seems like it's mostly just posturing.
I think most people assume there was no way we weren't going to be able to watch college football on Saturday.
And then last night, you know, was kind of like the, oh, wow, like this actually might go on for a while.
And now it's to the point where it's like some of these, you know, missing game day and college football on Saturday.
Like this isn't week one or two.
Like we're getting to the point where it's the most important football of the season.
So it seems like, yeah, like if they didn't get something done before last night, because you would think the NFL is kind of the end all be all.
It's like we need to get this done before the Cowboys are playing on Monday Night Football.
So I just learned of this because of what happened last night, I think the McAfee, I think, you know, the old antivirus, I think they tell you all the things you're auto paying and can completely get rid of it.
Who knows what I am still auto paying right now?
I don't even want to know.
But the Hulu one still going.
Jumped into a new phone.
Jumped into a new phone.
I had no idea how it got over this one.
I had transferred phones.
I couldn't even get it working with Hulu.
You must have a bullshit subscription.
Well, you must be not being auto.
You must have got it.
You must have done a good job.
I don't know how long I've been paying this Hulu subscription.
I guess I've been paying for a long time.
I took the photo, though, on the screen, a little QR code, touched the thing, wanted a thing.
And then my phone was like, what's the thing?
I type it in, and all of a sudden, boom, Patty Hulu, you're back.
It was like, okay, you guys have been charging me this entire thing.
It shouldn't have been that easy.
I don't think to get in there.
But that was what, I mean, I had racked the brain.
Like, how do I even get to it?
Shouldn't be doing that for NFL football or even.
No.
No.
Should not be doing that for football.
Never, I shouldn't be on these sites that could give my damn devices eights.
I don't want that.
We're past the line wire error.
I don't want to get into.
Look, I don't mind paying for.
You're talking about going to the parts.
You're talking about going to party.
Got to watch the Monday Night Football.
You know, you got to do some things.
I saw JJ Watts tweet.
I saw some other tweets.
Like, it did kind of feel like a drawline-in-the-sand-type moment.
Like, nope, I'm not getting another subscription.
I'm not doing another gimmick.
I was just lucky that I was getting ripped off basically
by the auto opinion. That's how I watched it.
But yeah, we're all done with it. Okay?
We're all done with it. And also, if you're on TV,
stop telling people to go to a website to save a multi-billion dollar deal.
Okay, nobody cares what you have to say.
There will be nothing that we say or any website that'll be visited
that'll get this thing. There are, I'm going to say the exact names,
but these people, it's poor of sorts.
sports sports out for good of sports
need each other
need each other a lot of people saying greedy
greedy corporate it's like yeah
need each other especially with where sports are
right now and we're in the middle of it
so let's get that done
let's get that done now
stop asking me to go to a website
yeah I don't want to do that
so stop that also doesn't work
at all yeah reality of the world
yeah all you're doing is pissing everybody
off even more so it's like let's just not
do that let's just try to
Okay, somebody needs to do one for a good of ball, for the good of ball, please.
Please go to ball.
And then I saw some people saying, now the country, okay, for election day,
they need to see the news.
Let's make sure we get a deal done.
And I saw somebody post, somebody thinks election day is more important than NFL Sunday.
Come on.
Wrong.
It's like we live in that world for sure.
But boy, I'll tell you what, if the election people get this deal done so that we can get ball back,
we appreciate you.
But if ball gets his deal back, for you guys, we would like some thanks for how stupid sports are.
And on that note, let's put our swords down.
Let's go ahead and shake some hands over there.
We need to be able to access this shit easily.
And also, sports are a unifier, man.
Come on, we don't want to hear about business bullshit.
Now, granted, there is a lot.
There's a lot of it, yeah.
A lot of money being spent on a lot of things.
By, like, both sides.
Like a lot of money.
Well, we got to survive.
We got to survive.
Well, we got to.
And at some point, they just got to.
Erase that.
that line in the sand.
Let's dance on that line.
Let's do some line dancing.
Exactly.
Why don't you guys do some line dancing?
There we go.
Instead of standing on either side of that.
Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, senior NFL insider for ESPN, Adam Schifter.
Hey!
Sheftery, how you doing, bud?
We all got one phone in our hand now.
Feels like that wave is over.
Are you okay as you gather your thoughts?
Well, I don't think we're done.
I don't think we're done.
But for now, there's a little low for two minutes, Pat.
Two minutes, maybe.
Okay, tell me about
Soss Gardner to the Colts, please.
We had you there for a second,
then he picked up another phone,
then he lost your mind.
Can you please chat a little bit about that play?
And two firsts and A.D. Mitchell feels like a lot.
Is that what was needed to get that deal done?
You know, the Jets signed him to a four-year,
$120.4 million contract extension this summer.
So clearly they were planning for him to be a part of the team.
And in this particular case,
I think when Micah Parsons gets traded
For two ones and a player, that sort of sets the baseline for a team that's not necessarily looking to deal a cornerback.
And obviously, the cults have been scouring the league looking for help in that area,
looking for another cornerback, looking for defensive help.
And I got a text there.
Pat, you called me this morning, and you said, and the Colts make a trade, I got a text from somebody in Indy that said,
we need a four-leaf clover.
We need a little bit of luck to make this happen.
So obviously, they felt like the luck kicked in, and they were able to.
to get it done. Now, the conversation is between the Jets and the Colts have been going on for weeks.
Weeks. And they went until the trade deadline today. And obviously, at noon or so, whatever, what time?
At 1.20, I don't remember what time this came down. Half hour, hour ago. The Jets felt comfortable
to make this trade. The Colts felt comfortable to make the trade. The Jets now have four first-round draft picks the next two years. Look, they're going to be in the
quarterback market. They're going to be a quarterback team in the next two years, whether that's this year or next
year. But it looks like, in a way, they're kind of tearing some things down and rebuilding
and the Colts know that they have an opportunity in much the way the commanders did it this time
last year when they traded for Marshawn Latimore, and the commanders went to the NAFC championship
game. The Colts obviously view this as a window to take advantage of it. They have Daniel Jones
on a friendly quarterback deal, and so they went ahead and they traded two ones to the Jets, a long
with wide receiver, A.D. Mitchell, who obviously
had lost his place
in Indy because of that fumble early
in the season, and the cults have other receivers as well.
So, gets need
receiver help. They trade for John Mechie
last week. They trade for A.D. Mitchell
this week, and they had two ones as well.
Okay, so A.D. Mitchell also threw
a pick six last year and said
that guy looked like Ed Reed. He threw it to it.
I mean, there's just a lot of things that did not go right
for A.D. Mitchell.
Hey, Pat. Go ahead.
You want to call me in two minutes here?
I get calls coming in here.
Yep, you're the man.
He's doing that.
I don't have time.
Two minute roll.
I gave you all the information I have.
Okay.
Now, I'm going to go get more information.
So if you could shut up, please, we can move along.
A.D. Mitchell heading over there.
Obviously, fresh start.
We're happy for him.
Sauce coming to town.
I was going to ask him, are we paying Danny Dimes and Jonathan Taylor now to?
How do we go about doing that?
I appreciate the fact that you are like, they'll figure that out.
That's because they got Mike Greenberg down there in Tampa.
Remember, he's one of the greatest salary cap Jim.
this of all time. Colts are going
to have to do that as well as they continue
to try to forge a Super Bowl champion team
as they trade for Soss Gardner.
Soss Gardner's
memory of the Indianapolis Colts right now.
Hell yeah, dude.
As a fair, you got
you gotta love your team going all
then. Like figure it, okay, we got
to pay this, whatever, figure it out. Just like
I'm sure Cowboys fans felt about Michael
figure it out how to trade and pay
for the good players. What do we got there?
We got good news. We got good news.
news. Not a trade. No, no. NFL Plus has some stats here.
Sauce Gardner has not allowed more than two receptions to a single receiver in a game this
season. He has forced a tight window in 61.9% of his targets, the highest rate of any player
targeted at least five times in coverage. Yep, I like these. Let's keep feeding.
I'm going to say to this point, I actually saw that he is the 22nd rank cornerback in the
NFL per pro football focus. Well, we all know how we feel about PFF rankings.
And they're still putting them out there. Oh, yeah. We got their week.
Chris Collinsworth said, we negotiated.
Here's a guy that negotiated the deal for you to run those every single week.
I don't care what JJ Watts is.
I don't care what anybody else thinks.
Sauce Gardner, obviously, coming to Colts is a big deal.
We'll keep up with Shephyr if any other trades happen before the 4 p.m. trade deadline.
We had some news around the NFL.
Frankie Louvre, Washington Commanders linebacker.
He has been suspended without pay.
Now, every suspension of a game is without pay.
You lose a game check.
But I think they want to make sure people know, like, hey, it's not just a game.
They're also losing out on a game check.
which is one 17th of your salary.
So it's pretty large for repeated violations of playing rules
intended to protect the health and safety of players,
including during Sunday's game against Seattle.
This is Louvre's third hip-drop tackle to season.
He was previously fined in actions week four and week eight.
Then there was a video that kind of accompanied this
with all three of the tackles.
Now, whenever hip-drop tackle was brought into the lingo of NFL football,
nobody really knew how it was going to be officiated
because also this is called just a tackle.
for some people, including
Frankie Louvre. I think this is potentially
his style of tackle, especially
with how easily he does it. If you go
back in time with Debo,
whenever Debo was kind of, James
Harrison, was kind of changing the way
rules were being made while
rules were being changed. He was leading with his
helmet. He had to change the way he
tackles completely. Frankie Louvo
appears to be a guy who's been doing this
style of tackle for a very, very
long time, and we all can see it.
I don't think we all love that it's called a
hip-drop tackle, but I think it's a good way to describe exactly what it is. It's
dangerous. And whenever the rule was made to ban it, you heard a lot of old school football
people say, it's stupid. Why are we doing this? Why are we doing us? Then whenever you see it,
you think to yourself, that's pretty nasty looking. It's like a horse collar, but even more
weight almost debunked. Yeah, we were all in league when the rules changed significantly.
James Harrison was obviously a big part at Brandon Meriwether. I feel like it was a one week
span where it was probably three or four hits where the NFL came in and they had to do something.
And there was a lot of question marks around that. Like, how is it fair? How would defenders be
able to adjust, you know, the target area, you hit them between here and there? But we did and we do.
That's just, it's just a part of player safety is how the game is evolving. And we can see these
tackles, not this one, but the other two, I think, on this clip that are clearly very, very
dangerous plays. So yeah, you definitely have to adjust how he plays and how you tackle because
they are player safety. Big issue. B.A., how do you talk to the players as these
rules are changing. And I know your entire thing is like, hey, everybody's playing with these
rules. But like whenever they were changing the strike zone on quarterbacks and tackling
as a whole, that went against like everything they were taught basically their entire life.
I'm not saying Frankie Louvre has been taught this, but it looks like this is a style
of tackle that Frankie Louvre has been doing his entire life. It looks like he just,
he looks like he has a cape on, just get some and then drop and stuff. Whenever these rules
are changing, what is your messaging to the players and how much are you addressing it with
them. Yeah, totally. We get every clip
from the league, make our own clips.
All right, this is legal, this is illegal.
We are not breaking the rules. We are not
beating ourselves, all right? So you
figure it out. You figure it out. You get used to
this shit quick, all right? Because
I don't want to see any 15-year penalties. I don't
care if they take your money.
Jeez.
Hey, that's your damn fault.
We're doing it. But, no, I'm all
for it. This obviously,
I think it's more dangerous than the
horse collar. Now, the horse collar was
supposedly you had to slide under the back of their legs and got to any time you just grabbed
the and pulled them down.
They started calling it.
But this is very dangerous play.
It has to be out of the game.
Agreed.
Frankie Louvo, first player suspended for the hip-drop tackle.
Joining us again, senior NFL insider for ESPN Adam Schaeftier.
Hey, Jeffty.
So what's going on?
Well, Pat, I just don't think we're done yet for the day.
I think that we have a chance to have more activity.
It doesn't mean it'll come down, but the phones, they're lighting up right now, and we'll
see if more stuff is going to get done. It's been a crazy day. Obviously, we brought up the
Rashid-Shahid trade. The Seahawks are sending fourth and fifth round picks in this year's
draft to the Saints in return for Rashid Shahid. So he goes to the Seattle Seahawks.
Jacoby Myers goes to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Sauce Gardner goes to the Indianapolis Cults.
Logan Wilson went this morning
from the Bengals to the Cowboys
and like I said
I just don't think we're done yet Pat
I think this is turned into a crazier day
than I think most people expect
I said to you this morning we get a few moves
today a few moves right
we've gotten a few but they were of larger magnitude
and I started to tell you before
when I was really interrupted by the cell service
that is not great here in Connecticut
but now we're in a good spot
that the cults felt like they needed
to get have some luck
to get this done.
And obviously they stepped up
in the form of two first-round picks
and A.D. Mitchell
to get this done.
I don't think the Jets ever would have imagined
trading Soss Gardner.
But if you're in the Jets spot
and you've won one game
and you know you're going to be
in the quarterback market
and you know you're going to be
reconstructing that roster,
you might as well move on
from some of the players
and start from scratch.
And that's what they did here
with Soss Gardner.
Okay, Shafty, we appreciate you.
What teams should we expect
to maybe be active here?
Who's blowing up the phones?
Is there a certain couple
or is everybody still kind of searching to see what's available?
Well, I would say that right now there's,
I think Dallas is still making calls.
You know, we'll see if Miami can get something done for Bradley Chubb.
There's a lot of stuff going on.
Yeah, I don't want to give it away.
We got it.
Ladies and gentlemen, Adam Schaeffer.
Thank you, Chapman.
Full panic.
One phone with the other one.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, guys, a lot's going on here.
Then people watch him on the show.
People start feeding him info whenever he's on the show.
And then he has to read it while talking.
What am I allowed to say?
What am I not allowed to say?
Is this real? Is this not real?
I like the magnitude of the trades that have been taking place here.
We'll be joined by Jordan Poyer, all pro, Poe.
We'll be joining us.
Obviously, he's back with the Buffalo Bills,
who just had a massive win over the Kansas City Chiefs here in a matter of moments.
Buffalo Bills made a lot of plays this off season.
I'm just paying a lot of people.
It doesn't feel like Bean's getting that active here in the trade deadline.
I feel like they feel good about their team.
Is that probably what that means?
Probably, but we never know.
We got a couple hours left.
I don't know what Brennan Beans up to.
And Schaefter says, you know, this is a lot more chaotic than I thought.
This morning he said he was on a, I don't know if he was on, what of this one called?
Yeah, elliptical.
I think he was on an elliptical maybe because there was striding,
but it wasn't as much bouncing as running.
So it felt like it was potentially an elliptical on a FaceTime.
And he said, you know, we had a lot yesterday.
Logan Wilson this morning.
We'll probably have a couple today.
Sheffty on the ellip.
Do he look like an absolute goofball?
To be honest, it was pretty blurry.
So all I saw was his white shirt he was wearing in his face
was just kind of bouncing back and forth.
Clearly had phone on whatever machine was right in front of him.
Shefti works out a lot.
He gets out a lot.
He gets out every single day.
Yeah, Schectady really gets out of it.
Yeah, he's a lot older than he looks.
Like a lot older than he looks.
Really?
Yeah.
He is much older than...
72.
Yeah, he's 70, yeah.
All right.
Joining us now, ladies, he is not.
70. Okay, he is not
72. Ladies of gentlemen, a man who
is enjoying his eighth year
just with the Buffalo Bills
has a nickname of all pro, Poe, obviously
friend of the program. We appreciate the hell out of
him. Fresh out of a massive dub
over the Kansas City Chiefs from the
Buffalo Bills, ladies and gentlemen, Jordan Poyer.
Yeah.
How many, sir.
What up, Paul? Good to see you, man.
How's life? Life is life,
brother, you know. It's just breathing and walking, man.
It's a beautiful life, man.
Hey, life is life. Life is
and especially whenever you're on a defense that is as pummeling as you guys were against that chief's team.
Hey, my big takeaway was that you guys beat up the Kansas City Chiefs.
I don't think that is normally something that we say about the Buffalo Bill's defense.
Not that we don't think you're a tough group, but it felt like you guys established some dominance.
Is Bosa a reason for that as you guys get in there?
Or why do you think maybe you guys looked a little different against this Chief's team?
Yeah, absolutely.
You know, anytime your pass rush is playing that way, the time your defense line is playing like that.
It makes a lot easy on the back.
and, you know, it was a huge emphasis going into his game to really play team defense, you know,
all around the board, and, you know, we had a great game plan going in and just being able
to execute that was a huge highlight, you know, players made plays, got one of the boys right here.
I want y'all, this is a new friend, come over here.
I want y'all to see the new friend of the show right here.
Y'all got to get this man on Mr. Max right here.
Hey, Max, what I'm doing?
How you doing, bro?
What's the deal?
What's the deal?
Hey, life is good, huh?
Just beat the shit out of the Chiefs.
now we're living large up there in Buffalo.
Okay, okay, Max.
Yes, it's the guy right here, man.
A great young player, man.
He'll be a player for a long time.
He was playing the game.
And, yeah, man, just wanted to go and play some really good team defense,
and we did that, and hopefully we can carry that what met him into this weekend going down south.
Okay, let's talk about you being an old-ass man now.
You know, they talked about you being a mentor in a couple different articles about
Paul Bishop, obviously Max stopping by there.
What is it like now at this stage of your career?
Are you enjoying it?
Yeah, man. I'm grateful. I'm grateful to just be here to, you know, be with this program again.
You know, I didn't want to leave after getting cut here a couple years ago.
And, you know, you could say I went down south with just kind of more anger that I got cut from here.
And, you know, that situation was what it was. I learned a lot about myself, learned a lot about life.
And I couldn't be more grateful to be here to be. They call me unct now.
Yes.
It's just crazy, you know, and, you know, this is where I want to retire.
This is where, you know, I've said it many times.
This is where I want to retire.
I love this city.
I love this organization.
I love these fans.
And, you know, I couldn't think of a better situation to be here.
The role I'm in is obviously a lot different than it's than I've had before.
But really just embracing it and just trying to help, you know, these young players come
along, trying to help this team and do everything that I can to help this team, you know,
go on this run.
And so it's been really special.
and we're halfway through the season
and we've got some momentum right now
I want to keep that going and we'll go down south this weekend
and it's been a roller coaster for sure
but you know just grateful for all
Yeah, Unk, you're an old-ass man.
You guys are six and two.
Obviously I've already had your bye week,
so your old-ass body is certainly going to be tested
as we go forward.
Debutt has a question for you.
Absolutely, Jordan.
I want to ask you, how's the body feeling,
how's the mind?
And what did you see out there?
Because Mahomes had his worst completion percentage
in his career.
you guys. I know both teams were very familiar
with each other. What did you
see out there on the field from 15?
Yeah. You know,
the body feels great. You know, obviously
not getting any younger, but this is definitely
the healthiest that I've been since, you know, I tore my
UCL in 2022.
That kind of trickled down with a lot
of different injuries. You know, the mind is always
where it needs to be, you know,
just continue to practice, training
the brain, training my mind, continue to
involve. And yeah, like I said,
we went in with a game plan
that we knew we had to execute as a collective, as a team, playing team defense, whether it
be our looks, whether it be, you know, again, hits on the quarterback, making plays on the football,
making plays when they presented themselves. And, you know, playing at home always helps
with the crowd noise that might have been the loudest I've ever heard that plays. And, you know,
I haven't played at a home game there since 2023. And, you know, you're in the, in the huddle,
you forget how loud it actually is. You know, TB scream the play call. And, you know, that's just
a shout out to our fans, and again, you know, we came in, we executed the game plan,
and, you know, we had a lot of, especially young guys, uh, step up and play very well, like
Max, like Cole. Um, and Joey's just, he's just insane. Yeah. Yeah, it feels like watching
him, he potentially is an absolute monster around there. Good to see him getting a chance to go
on a run. And I talked about there with you guys being six and two, but literally everything's
in front of you. And the narrative after you guys beat the chiefs is like, well, the bill is
always beat the Chiefs in regular season, so who cares? You know, who cares, or whatever. Huge win,
monster win. Fun to watch you guys play in all three phases. And on that note, you guys,
very successful when you get a break. Go ahead, B.A.
Yeah, Jordan, you guys have always done a great job after your biweek. I think Sean's got an
unbelievable record. What is it about that by week and what Sean does to get you guys on these hot runs
every year? Yeah, you know, we have a really good coaching staff here who takes pride.
and making the adjustments and, you know, that week isn't necessarily just a break off, right?
You know, there's a lot of guys that stay here throughout the by to continue to try to work on their bodies to study the film, you know, with the coaches.
And, you know, we even came back a day earlier, you know, tackling was a huge emphasis in the loss against Atlanta before the buy.
So we came in, we everybody had a report on Monday.
We were in full paths on Monday and, you know, we were hitting.
And so, you know, just, you know, understanding.
And I think when, you know, the buy happening when it was, being able to look back on some of the things that we did well and continue to do those and some of the things that we didn't do well and continue to work on those.
And, you know, Sean being the defensive mind and the guy that he is, you know, we came back and we made those adjustments.
And again, I want to keep that momentum going.
You know, we're playing really good team defense right now.
And that's what that's what it's about.
And again, we got another great test this weekend down south in Miami against a hungry.
football team and so we got to be ready
to play. We got to prepare well
like we have been and we're going to
be excited for the opportunity. Who knows what that
Miami Dolphins team looks like after 4 p.m.
today, okay, there's been a lot of moves made.
Have you been paying attention at all? Sauce Gardner
is now a member of the Indianapolis Colts.
Okay, AFC on your
fucking bumper, Jordan Boyer out here
in Indianapolis, okay? You need to know that.
There's shit going on right now, Jordan.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's crazy.
You know, I don't know who won that deal, but
yeah they have to see the Colts they look like a solid team and yeah we'll see how that
yes we will okay we got Danny Dimes obviously phenomenal quarterback you guys have the MVP
go ahead Ty yeah Jordan Josh Allen was obviously unbelievable when you were in Buffalo but
what have you noticed about his player I guess how much better do you think he has gotten
since your short time away now being back in Buffalo
I mean, that's the MVP, man.
I said it when I signed in Miami.
You know, he's the best quarterback in the game.
And that's for a reason.
You know, he just continues to build his level of awareness, his confidence.
You know, he knows he's great.
And, you know, he knows the team feeds off of his energy.
And he comes in every day with that right mindset.
You know, he's a quarterback that you want to play for.
You know, somebody who's just nasty, savvy can make every throw.
can run everybody over and, again,
just his confidence levels through the roof
and somebody that you just want to go to battle with every Sunday.
Nasty and savvy, great words to be described as.
He's nasty and savvy.
I mean, that is a bar there.
I enjoy the thought of that.
Hey, before we get any more football questions in,
Connor wanted to bring it up,
but he's going to ask you an actual football question,
so I'll just address it here.
Do you have a hand pan still?
Are we still a handpan?
I don't know. Have we gotten better?
I do.
I'm on the rap drum now, which is similar like a handpan,
but it's all the ringing on next time.
I'm a big fan of the rap drum.
You're a fan of the rap drum.
Yeah, big time.
Yeah, so you play the rap drum.
How do you, what do we...
It's exactly like a handpan, but the tones,
the tones string out a little bit longer.
It doesn't just hit the tone and stop the tone string out a little bit longer.
It makes the sound just a lot more soothing.
McRabdo.
So it's a lot more enjoyable.
Max, what are you doing, Max?
Okay, what are you doing, Max?
Talking about a rapdo drum.
Okay, have a little respect, dude.
Oh, you're playing this.
Is that you?
Jordan, which one?
You had the dress like that.
Comes with the instrument.
I'll tell you what, any Caucasian that's got dreads,
hey, any Caucasian that got dreads,
you know that they've made some decisions.
They've made some.
It's going to be a good time.
Yeah.
Some deep decisions.
Yes, they've made some decisions.
how their life is going to go.
You know, and I'm not saying they're not a good time.
I've certainly been around a lot of them.
Okay, I've been to an all good festival too.
You see a lot of that.
But they've certainly decided that they are committing fully to the bit.
We are.
Parents aren't too happy with those guys.
Well, unless they come from parents of Caucasian dreadheads.
That's true.
And then their grandparents are carrying on a legacy.
I do think there is legacy Caucasoid dreadheads.
I do believe that is something that happens.
They all play instruments.
I think they all play this instrument.
I think they all good.
You put this instrument in their hands.
I think every white that has dreads
would be able to fucking slate it.
Like Beethoven.
If I had to guess.
There's no how to play.
You see a white with dreads.
You bring this one over.
Strap up.
There's a show coming.
They are very comfortable in that thing.
About to go to a portal.
Yeah, you are about to go to a portal.
Okay, let's talk about a portal of you being unk now.
Go ahead, Conman.
Yeah, Jordan, aside from the defense,
do you feel yourself also mentoring like the wide receivers
and the tight ends just because
you have such a wealth of information on NFL defenses that kind of sharing that with the offense
helps with them as well yeah i mean i'm just trying to be an open book you know there's a lot of
young players still i mean even on the practice squad um you know that are you know ask questions here
there you know how does this leverage work here if i'm running this route you know what does it
look like if i stemming like this and you know even you know so i just really trying to be open book
i've seen a lot of football um you know both offensively and defensively and so um
Yeah, there's a lot of guys, a lot of guys that will come up to you and ask small questions here or there.
And really, again, you know, my role now, trying to be a mentor, trying to continue to guide these guys.
And also, you know, I'm starting now.
So really preparing myself to continue to play at a high level and make sure we're solid on the back end and we're connected on the back end.
So, yeah, man, it's an unk role for sure, but embracing it and enjoying it.
Yeah, let's talk about the unk role here before we let you go.
and obviously we're very gracious for your time here.
I think I saw 47% of the snaps or something like that.
How is that at this stage?
Because I got a chance to watch Matt Hasselbeck.
Matt Hasselbeck was a starting quarterback, starting quarterback, starting quarterback, starting quarterback.
We draft Andrew Luck.
Matt Hasselbeck has to make the decision that he's going to come in and he's going to be the backup quarterback.
Like that is a transition stage of a career.
Now, he played valuable minutes for us.
We needed Matt Hasselbeck.
He was awesome.
But mentally, it was the decision.
You playing this year, I assume you knew what the deal was.
and obviously understand at this stage, you said you're going to be obviously getting more plays.
You're back at starter, but that mindset of just being able to say, yeah, I'm cool with whatever after
accomplishing so much and being all-propo. How is that kind of mindset as you address it?
Yeah, you know, initially coming in, I came in August 28th, knowing I'm signing to the practice
squad. And, yeah, you know, Mike had told me last year, you know, was one of the most humbling
experiences, right, because you are the guy for so many years.
Now all of a sudden, you know, you're on the scout team, you know, doing scout team defense.
I was even doing scout team offense running routes at a couple weeks during the season.
So to that point, yeah, it's very humbling, but, you know, I'm in a place in my life.
You know, I've overcome a lot of different things in my life, had so many ups and downs.
And to really just, again, be here to be able to kind of ride off in the sunset on my own terms with the organization that I care about
and that has essentially raised me in this NFL league
in the NFL world.
You know, to me it's the right way to go.
You know, last year, it was a tough year all around.
And, you know, kind of what the future looked like was very uncertain.
And, you know, there was probably a good time of probably two or three months in the offseason
where I was retired and I was ready to hang up my cleats.
And I was okay with that, you know.
And, you know, as I sat with it more and more and conversations started to come up more and more,
And the idea of, you know, possibly coming back to Buffalo, you know, on a call it, Micahide
plan, you know, I started to be intrigued by that.
Obviously, knowing that how I know I can impact the game a lot, also not just being on
the field, right?
I've seen a lot of ball.
You know, they got a lot of young guys here that, you know, I just am trying to help
bring their game to the next level because when I was a young player in the league,
I had guys like Tashon Gibson, Dante Wittner, Jim Leonard, you kind of take me under their
wing and showed me how to be the pro, showed me how to.
to take care of my body, I'll watch film.
And so the Joe Hayden's, you know,
and I promised myself if I ever got to that age
where, you know, people are calling me unk,
that that's going to be,
this is my way of giving back to the game,
giving back to the organization.
And, again, just staying ready for whatever,
staying ready for whatever situation,
whether it's starting, whatever that is.
And so, you know, now here we are,
you know, week nine, I'm back in the lineup
and it feels good.
My body feels good.
Spirit feels good.
And, you know, I'm excited for this run that we're on.
You're still ridiculously handsome, too,
So, congrats on that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
My wife would appreciate that.
Yeah, you, you'll be aging differently
than the dreaded white guys forever,
and we understand that, but hey, congrats.
We're happy to see you at this stage of life.
Obviously, we've known you for a while now.
We've seen you go through a bunch of different
inspiring moments, a bunch of big time moments,
a bunch of tough moments.
I mean, we feel like we followed along
through our appreciation of you and your time for our show.
So we're happy for you, man,
that you're at peace.
we hope you enjoyed all and good luck to you the rest of the way
I appreciate y'all so good to see y'all y'all boys keep stepping man love
all right tell them max we want them on the show absolutely yeah you tell them right now
max some point we need you on okay hey max good to see you need you on the show at some point dude
need you to be will you come on sometime yeah just let me know all right all right we'll let you
all right max and jordan boy we appreciate you guys yeah max popping his head and in the middle
of one of jordan's answers and then dropping out like that's your
energy we need. And also, you can see by
their culture right there, the building. That's the Buffalo
Beals as a hole right there. Yeah, do you remember from the
Combine, the one guy that tapped every single
player up who got drafted? That was him.
Oh, yeah, he was the waiting. He was the guy waiting
right there, and it was every single person
that you have. Do you remember who represented him at
that time? Who? We were
talking to him before he ran.
Sean Salado. I believe he's, no, I believe he's a money team guy.
Oh, Eddie? That's right.
Yeah, he was.
Kentucky? Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Four to eight. Yes, I do remember.
Yes, okay, now, hey, should have known that immediately.
Oh, coming back.
I was actually very worried yesterday whenever Clayton Kershaw,
FaceTime dust in, and he brought his bowl of coop into the fold.
Sure.
I told Ty, clearly before that show started, hey, Clayton Kershaw might bring some of the boys in.
Going to need you to give me answers on who the hell they are.
Okay, because that is nothing worse than showing somebody.
He could have shown, Clayton Kershaw could have shown somebody in there.
Miguel Rojas.
And it's like, I'm happy that Max didn't feel any disrespect there.
I should have known immediately because of how big a fans we are of his
makes a big play for them on Sunday, obviously, against Patrick Mahomes.
But that is the vibes of the bills as a whole.
And Jordan Boyer talked about coming back being this unc roll.
It's like it feels like that building likes who they are and what they are.
And you've got to really put a focus on that if you want to build a good team.
I think the bills have done that.
You got to have some good vets.
And obviously you want to be a good vet and still be productive at the same time
because it's hard for young guys to listen to a guy,
even if they have played a long time in the league,
if they're not still playing.
Well, now, is he going to be all pro-po?
We'll see.
But especially with all those moving parts that are back there.
They do a lot of disguising on defense.
And you know they're going to be in it with that team
that they have around Josh Allen.
Okay, we have big news tonight at 8 o'clock.
We'll get the college football playoffs official rankings.
The college football playoff committee went into a meeting last night
as all the older whites and put their hats down and say,
let's go in there and do this.
this thing. I am very excited
that this is officially college football
playoff season and
we'll get the official rankings that really mean
stuff. How many Big 12 schools
have a chance? How many
ACC teams have a chance?
How many from the SEC?
How many from the Big Ten? Now the
AP has their own rankings. Obviously
others do their own rankings. This is the only
one that actually matters whenever it comes down
to starting with 12
counting down to one. Interesting
social video to start this
How do you know who those people are?
Like in division, no names?
They all look like the same person to me,
but it is different minds.
Mark Dan Antonio right there. That's all I do.
A lot of people that have a lot of love
and appreciation for college sports.
Ball guy, yep. Yeah.
Greasy hair guy.
Oh, sweet lady.
Yep. This guy. That guy.
That guy. That guy.
That guy. This guy.
Utter guy.
Utter guy. An otter guy.
Yeah. Stanford Steve should be in there.
We would appreciate if Sanford Steve was in there.
We do appreciate that this video was the first one they chose to put out there.
Like, hey, they're putting all the same hats down, and they're going in there to go to work.
The college football playoff committee has put out another graphic.
It's basically the schedule of all the games.
And it's a lot.
It's a lot.
But just know that this is around a corner.
Ladies of gentlemen, Friday, December 19th is the first playoff, Ron.
December 20th, playoff, Ron.
Let's go.
Let's talk about this is right around the corner.
It is November 4th.
It is November 4th.
It is November 4th.
So December 19th, this entire thing starts
and then obviously we have a run
all the way up until
February, January 9th.
That's the national...
January 19th is national championship.
Sorry.
Where is it? On Atlanta?
Yeah, there it is.
Yeah. Okay, so that's...
Oh, those are... Okay, so we're sliding.
We're reading these slots.
You get a new song this year?
I'm not across the top. I hope not.
I hope not. Run it back.
we're mixing things up it's a lot more schools get a shot to shine it's a lot more fun start
with 12 count down to one that's how we crown a CMP national champion and then it goes how we crowned
CFP National
Champion
Yeah
Bia you didn't know this one
No
Well I'll tell you what
They're saying it
Because that's you're representing Virginia Tech
And there was no conversation
Yeah that's true
Yeah but on that note
Hey Virginia Tech's back in the college football news
A lot of jobs that are open
A lot of jobs potentially getting hired
He's signed an NDA
He's a part of the group
That is literally hiring
The Virginia Tech people
And I don't want to put him on a spot right now
To get his self in trouble
But Virginia Tech's cooking right now
Virginia Tech is cooking
from what I've been told.
Let's head over to Hammer.
Don, Don, what are we expecting tonight from the CFP rankings?
And what are you looking at as your projected playoff picture right now
where we stand at November 4th?
Yeah, so this is mine right now.
This is not how I think it's going to end at the end of the season.
I think it's going to be how it's going to be tonight.
Obviously, I think you have to go Ohio State at one,
followed by Indiana, A&M, and Alabama,
as your top four teams getting the buys.
That would be as tonight.
I think that's going to change.
I think eventually the SEC champion will be number two.
I think the Big Ten champion will be number one.
And then the losers of those games potentially being three, four after that.
I do not think the Big Ten will get the number one and number two team after the championship games are concerned.
I could be wrong in that.
Just thinking off the top of my head there.
Then you have Oregon, Georgia, Ole Miss, and BYU.
as the host, obviously Texas Tech and BYU play this weekend.
So that'll be a big one.
I don't know if the Big 12 is going to get two teams.
I would be shocked if the Big 12 gets two teams.
So as we look at that right there, 8, 9, if that's how it goes tonight,
this weekend is a pseudo playoff game, if you will.
Hell yeah, we're going to be down there.
You think this is what the CFP is going to put out tonight.
This is you saying you think this is what they put out tonight.
What they will also have is what, last in, first out as well on the left side?
Who are some of the schools that are not on your CFP prediction here,
which once again, Tone is trying to predict what he thinks they're going to put out tonight
as their official playoff thing?
Who are some of the schools that are left off that are not going to be happy about what you
or they do if you are accurate?
So let's start with the ACC.
I do not think Virginia is going to be in the playoffs at the end of the season.
Now they still have, they have Duke, they have Virginia Tech for BA.
I don't know, and you guys talked about on a college game day,
I do think they're looking for a loss.
That's kind of how they've been played lately.
Memphis and Tulane play this weekend.
So Tulane, if you're looking to be one of those teams to get in,
whoever wins the American in that situation.
But some of the other teams sitting right out, Texas,
Texas is playing really, really good now.
They have A&M still.
They have Georgia now.
Guess what?
If they win those games, Texas is going to be in.
Louisville, I think, is a very, very good.
very, very alive in the ACC.
I still think Georgia Tech is very
alive in the ACC after a tough
loss this last weekend.
Utah is still alive
in the Big 12.
I think the ACC, Big 12,
still very, very alive.
And then some of those teams
at the bottom of the SEC
as far as getting in for that, like,
1112.
How about Navy? How about the Power 5?
Who's all from the Power 5?
So Navy had a tough loss
against North Texas last weekend.
and so I think Navy still has one lost.
They got a big one against Notre Dame, Memphis, Tulane, North Texas.
JMU would be the one not in the American to watch to maybe potentially get that 12 seed.
All right.
Well, good luck to you on your prediction of what their playoff prediction will be.
We appreciate the hell at you, AP, Tom.
I do you.
Not a bad little trade deadline day.
Not at all.
Not bad at all.
I mean, this has actually been a pretty fun little trade deadline day.
Saturday College Game Day, we, you know, when somebody, when life throws you a situation,
at some point you've got to be able to counter a little bit.
I appreciate the opportunity that we had to broadcast Game Day on X,
and obviously I saw a lot of reaction from people saying,
hey, this is really cool of doing this.
It wasn't just me that did it.
Obviously, me and Jimmy Pataro had the full conversation about this.
Jimmy Pataro head at VSPN.
And ultimately, he said, yeah, I was going to do it just for the last hour.
Just so we're all 100% clear.
I have in my deal, okay, that I've negotiated, writes the clips.
Everybody has to agree on that.
So anytime you see me on anything, you will know that I have negotiated in my deal to do as such,
the ability to clip stuff and post it onto my social media platforms.
Gumpy is the guy who actually rips stuff while I'm live
and posts on the social media platforms.
The cell is like, hey, want to let my people know that this is happening,
but also, hey, this is a clip show if we let it be,
and you don't really maybe understand that as much as we have this capability.
So that's kind of the negotiation.
So just putting the last hour, I could have made the argument.
I thought that that was a clip.
You know, just put the last hour out there.
Push comes to shove.
I'm going to piss people off.
But it is a clip of the show.
in there, you know, is there. So I pitched the idea, talk to Jimmy. Jimmy was like, run the whole
thing. This show is a unifier. This show should be seen by people. And because we have a business
disagreement, we should make it as easy as possible. It was on the ESPN app in front of the paywall.
It was on X. And on X, we're getting numbers back from the X people. This is people from
from X. 1.18 million unique viewers just on X. So it's like, that's sick. I'm happy as hell
that we had the opportunity to do that. And I'm very lucky to be a part of a show that.
obviously draws so much interest, we appreciate it, as we wrap up today on this glorious trade
deadline day. Game day, gigantic. College football, huge. NFL alive. Let's make sure we get deals done
so that we can all see all of it. Please. And trade deadline day? Four o'clock. Is your team getting
better? Or is your team mailing it in? We shall see. Be a friend, tell a friend something nice. It might
change their life. We'll see you tomorrow. Goodbye. Okay. So, um, crazy
to have crazy to have
that Monday night football game
not easily excess of the ball last night
it's ain't going to last long, right?
I hope not.
Why wouldn't the deadline be like
starting to think it might?
Yeah, me too.
I didn't think there was any way
that the Monday night football game
would not be on YouTube TV.
Thoughts Saturday.
It would be enough.
Yeah, exactly. Once you're past that, but like now
we have missed a full weekend of football
like
what makes them think, okay, now
we really got to go. You know, it's like
it seems like both sides are pretty dug in.
I hope I'm wrong, but that's the way it seems.
The only reason why both sides would be dug in is because they feel as if it's for their survival, right?
Just from negotiation in the past.
And I don't want to say I've been a part of any negotiation that's anywhere near as big as this one.
Okay?
This is a gigantic deal.
There's a lot of money on the line here.
Both sides, a lot of money.
But it feels like there's a chance, especially with how long it is.
I'm not in the middle of it.
I'm not a part of it.
I do not know where each side sits.
But if whenever you're this dug in,
it's strictly because you feel as if it is for survival.
And a lot of people are going at both sides.
And it's like both sides, I think, feel like,
hey, this has to be the way this goes for us to survive.
And both of them feel as if they have leverage.
Yeah.
So anytime both sides feel like they have leverage
and they feel like they have to survive,
that's a tough deal to get done.
That is a very tough deal.
There's deal makers, though, okay, that are out there in the world.
and there's bad, there's good dealmakers, bad dealmakers.
There's professional dealmakers that get brought in.
It's kind of, hey, let's set our swords aside.
I wonder if we're going to get to that stage.
I wonder how many people are like, hey, hey, hey, we've got to figure this out.
For the good of the people, for the good of the people, because we are those people,
and we just want everybody to enjoy the hell out of sports, as easy as possible.
We need more sports, not less sports, and we need more people watching sports,
not less people watching sports.
So let's go ahead and get that deal with on both sides.
On that note, BA,
You want to do a giveaway?
Do you want to do some sort of challenge?
Yeah.
Do you really?
Yeah.
What do you want to do, brother?
I know you can't throw it because the shoulder, elbow, arm.
It doesn't go up.
Yeah.
Maybe cornhole.
Oh.
Like that.
That's good.
Like that.
Twist.
Yeah, I like this.
I want this.
Okay.
So you want to turn my head.
how many feet is it how many feet is it how many
they're 27 i forget come on nobody knows dims
i think it's 27 27
27 it's a pro right there
Here we go, B.A.
You're a bro, official ACL distance.
Yeah, it is, it is, B.A.
Form that thing up.
Yep.
You take these four as well, brother.
Perfect.
You're not going to need it.
All right, I don't know, let's talk about it.
How big a cornhole player are you, you think?
I've got to play once in my life.
Oh.
What do you say?
I never play once in my life.
Coach.
Do you want to throw four, just get a feel?
All right.
So why don't you throw four?
Okay.
Fuck you.
You have definitely, you sandbagging, cornhole bagging, son of a bitch.
I mean, that's exactly how you want to spin that thing flat.
Everything you just did right there is the right play.
All right, second ever cornhole.
Okay.
Uh-oh
Makes more sense now
It may have been a bit of a fluke
All right
Yeah
Here's your four now
You gotta feel for it
You gotta make one in the hole
Okay
You make one in the hole
Fifteen
Hell you just wait
This son of a bitch
One in the hole
20 people win
$500
This man won four for four on puts
Okay
O for a one
He's got to go one for three here
And 20 people
Will
Oh, and that one was pushed past the hole,
so that one never fall.
Oh, no.
All right, last shot.
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, oh, oh, oh.
$25 people.
$500.
All B.A.'s got to do is put one cornhole bag into the cornhole.
Debutt, any motivation for our coach, B.A. here is he tries to attempt the seemingly impossible.
You know what your best toss is your first one.
I don't think you even thought about it.
Just let that bitch rip.
Let her rip.
Yeah, I got.
Oh.
Oh, he walked it off.
It was still a good day, B.A.
It was still a good day, B.A.
We appreciate the hell out of you, Coach, B.A.
Yes, you certainly were.
All right, we will run, great work, man.
We'll run the rest of the Cam Little.
We'll run the full Cam Little interview here
as we wrap up on this glorious trade deadline day.
And we'll be following Schefter's toward our account.
And it feels as if it happened.
but Schaefter says
Wait a minute
My phones are still blowing up
Magic could still happen
Will it be the sizzle as we already got the stake
Or do we have a chance to have
Maybe one of the most historic trade deadline days
In the history of the NFL
If anything happens
While this Cam Little interview is happening
We will certainly come right on back
We appreciate the hell out of you all
For allowing us to do this for a living
Coach BA thank you so much
For traveling up here every week
We love your vibes
Live from Hammer
Don Don! Don!
tone, we appreciate you. Why don't you come on over here. Boys in the back, great work this week.
Rushmore on X, most recent episode is Dynasties. Stephen A. Smith, Al Michaels, Ari, and Ben
traveled down a road of sports greatness, and it is fantastic. Available right now at Rushmore
on X, on X. There's clips, obviously, across all social media platforms, but the full
episode is available only on X. It is fantastic. And anytime you get people talking about something
that they love, especially in this particular case, the legends of the things talk about something
that they love. The amount of information that just kind of falls out of their mouths into your ears
is a magical thing. Rushmore on X has been special to be a part of. Ari and Ben should be very
proud of the show they put together in Talk and Bailey and Foxy, the amount of work that's been
put in the back end, dirty with the graphics, debone with the graphics as well. I'm incredibly
proud to be a part of it. Everybody's kicking ass. And on that note, be a friend, tell the
friend something nice, might change your life, wearing this thing together. Team on me, BA, anything for the
squad? Great show. Better one next week?
Hell yeah. Cam Little on the
other side. Team on three. One, two,
three. Team. Goodbye.
You know what's
better than the one big thing?
Two big things. Exactly.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have breaking news on this trade deadline day.
The New York Jets have traded away another all-pro, pro bowler.
Quinnin Williams, the absolutely legendarily entertaining and beast of a defensive
lineman, has been traded from the New York Jets to the Dallas.
Cowboys. First sauce gardener comes to Indianapolis. Now Quinnon Williams goes to the Dallas
Cowboys. And Jerry Jones said last night, I got a traitor too in my back pocket. I don't know
if I want to pull him out. Logan Wilson gets traded from the Cincinnati Bengals, the middle
linebacker down to Dallas this morning. And now Quinnon Williams is on his way to the Big
D and Jerry World. Quinn and Williams is a beast. Quentin Williams is a dog by all accounts.
What did the Dallas Cowboys add? And why do you think they did it, Dee Byrd?
Well, we know why they did it.
We showed the numbers that they had earlier in the show
with historically bad numbers on defense,
and this is an absolute game record.
You mentioned it earlier.
Whenever you can get pressure or some game records up front
with a four-man rush, that's going to help a defense tremendously.
You added Logan Wilson on the second level,
and now this is kind of an all-pro and legendary kind of game record
up in the middle of that defense.
So this is a big pickup for Jerry Jones.
Joining us now, senior NFL insider for ESPN, Adam Schepter.
I don't think the day's
I think there's more to come you said
I don't know if you knew
it was going to be coming from the New York Jets
they're doing full rebuild right now
is that what we're seeing in New York
yeah I knew that one was coming
they've been working on Quinn Williams all day
that was the one that the Dallas Cowboys
were working that's why
when Sauce came down I thought Quinnon was getting
traded and all of a sudden
it was
sauce which was unexpected at that moment
and now they're trading
Quinn and Williams it'll be at least
a first-round pick, at least a first-round pick,
and we're waiting to see the exact competition.
I'm literally going to hear any moment now.
So as soon as I get it, I'll let you know there, Pat.
Okay, appreciate that.
So the Jets obviously acquire two first-rounders
from the Indianapolis coach just about an hour or two ago.
Now they're going to pick up another first-rounder,
and you talked about them being in the quarterback market,
either this off-season or the next one.
They're doing full rebuild over there.
Did they expect maybe let's see how the team goes?
When do you think they decided that they were going to,
you know, maybe completely move on from their young pillars and start anew in New York.
Was that before the year started or as this year continued to roll on?
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
It's not before the year because you're going through the year.
You don't expect to be one in seven or whatever they are at this particular moment,
but they are.
They're in that spot right now.
And so they just figured, okay, let's, let's, we might as well just start building this up
and get this, get more picks.
they're in the quarterback market now obviously
Okay, so Jerry obviously
picked up a first rounder from
the Green Bay Packers with the trade
of Micah Parsons and he chit-chated about
the number of picks that he had
whenever he made that play. What are we expecting
this to be worth? You said at least
one first rounder. The New York Jets
all of a sudden are about to become the bells of the
ball come draft time around
you know, the entire NFL
I assume.
Yeah.
Hold on second.
By the way, the Quinn and Williams trade is not done,
but they're trying to get to finalize.
They're trying to get a finalized.
Oh, hold the phone.
You know, we've got a dot-ey's cross-tees.
You know what the hardest touch on the score is.
What's that?
Well, without the tush-bush, goal line.
You know, so it's final inches.
They're always the most difficult because we got everything else done.
Are we going to let these things hold up to the thing?
Yeah, we actually will.
We're watching that maybe with not being able to watch Monday night football.
Now, in this trade, he's assuming it's,
going to get done. How long have they been working it you've been talking about?
Quinn and Williams, this has been in the works.
Well, it's been going on for
a little while now, and there were multiple teams in on him.
And, you know, the Jets, by the way, it's not done yet.
It's not done. We're waiting.
But I would think that both sides get this far along at 2.11
With the trade deadline coming up in one hour and 49 minutes,
they'll figure out a way to get it done. But it's not done.
they're trying to get it finalized.
Okay, so trying to get it finalized.
Maybe money's a part of this entire thing.
Debutt has a question for you.
Yeah, where is Quinn and Williams at with his contract?
I know he's on a new deal, I think, two years ago,
rookie extension.
Where is he at with that?
I don't even know right now.
I haven't checked on that, Dee, but I would think he's good.
But when you go to a new team, you're going to have some leverage
because the team is going to be giving it an awful lot to get you.
So that'll be advantageous for Quinn and Williams,
but I don't even how much time he's got left on his deal.
I haven't looked yet.
Okay.
Are you in a diner right now?
What do you have going on right now?
I'm sitting here in a hall
just hanging out here
waiting to do our trade special
3 o'clock as more information is coming in here
All right, we appreciate the hell out of you,
Schefter. Shepter says the deal's not done.
Other insiders are reporting the deal is done.
Have a little bit of a source off, but it sounds like
Quinn and Williams is headed to the Dallas
Cup. I have to get it done, but
they're still
processing it right now.
Still processing.
Jerry Jones knows that his defense just needs.
Jerry Jones knows that his defense just needs.
a little bit of assistance, makes play
for Logan Wilson, now Quinn and Williams?
What is this message from Jerry Jones? And how do you
think the Dallas Cowboys react going forward?
That's huge. I mean, Quentin Williams
is one of the best young defensive linemen in the league.
And I don't know what the hell the jets
are doing. Yeah. Restart. There are
crewing out of those rounds. That's cool.
Who the hell are
these guys they're getting? Quinn and Williams, they'll be able
to draft another one. Yeah. Yeah. They just
run off trees. You know? Soft
gardeners, they just run off trees. I got
known players that are young,
and legit, and I'm giving them away for the unknown.
How many, to me, that makes any sense.
No sense.
Yeah, but whenever you traded their fourth rounder for Gronk,
you could have got them.
You know what I mean?
That's different when talking about fourth rounders, brother.
No, my first rounders, too.
I feel this way.
And I assume coaches feel this way as well.
And I don't know why, if that's why not as many ex-players
are running teams or making decisions.
But it's like, with the amount of guys that I've seen
drafted that we're supposed to be really good come into our building and just be ass and it's like
okay are we willing to roll the dice on a proven guy or this guy that has a lot of potential now
there's been guys that have come in and been great i'm not saying that's not the case but if you look at the
law of averages and percentages of people that hit and people that miss in the NFL draft it's like there's
a lot more misses than there is hits so you get a guy that's a hit it's like we hit on a guy
especially that organization we hit on a guy and everybody loves him and he's funny yeah he is incredibly
entertaining. Ari Mirov at MySports Update, he's reporting. The expected trade is expected trade.
Oh, no, we're not doing that. We're taking that down. We're not doing any expected trades here.
Because did you expect Quentin Williams to be traded? Absolutely not.
Well, with your point on like the first round picks, too, like the last couple years in the draft
process, when we've talked to these people who are draft experts and put all this time in,
they've basically said, like a lot of organizations only have 10 to 15 first round grades on the players in the first round.
so it's like if you're if you look at yourself and see that you're going to be picking in the back half of the first round like is that really as valuable as it was 10 years ago pre nil when it's like hey guys are maybe staying in school longer and there aren't as many bona fide first round picks in every draft j glazer back on the news what's he say uh teams are finalizing compensation but as of now cowboy is trading a second round pick this year and a first round pick next year for pro bowl detackle quinine william
Thank you, Jay Glazer for getting the bottom of it.
I like that he kind of poked himself back out into the world.
So you know what?
It's a Tuesday.
I might want to drop a little something on something.
He still runs the tri-state area.
If he wants to.
Yeah.
That's kind of the decision that Jay Glazer's got to make, especially now that he's married.
Shout to the tennis and Twins as well.
And we obviously love Jay Glazer on this particular program.
Been around a long time.
So a second round pick and a first round pick for Quinn and Williams,
allegedly is what's being reported.
Still figuring it out.
What does that mean?
What does that mean?
What could that mean?
They're still trying to figure it out.
It's just dollars and cents and contracts.
You know, it's lawyer talk now.
Okay.
And, you know, lawyer talk is tough to understand.
That's why you need to get other lawyers.
And your lawyers need to talk to their lawyers
and these things like to just talk amongst their own language.
And then all of a sudden, you're sitting there.
Is this thing?
Do we?
Can we watch Monday night football?
Can we please?
Can we please watch Monday night?
Hopefully my lawyer is the number one pick.
Yeah, you would certainly hope that.
Yeah, you would certainly hope that.
All right, Quentin Williams to the Dallas Cowboys.
Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts.
A.D. Mitchell, back to the New York Jets from the Indianapolis Colts during the Soss Gardner trade.
Logan Wilson goes to the Dallas Cowboys.
Draymond Jones goes from the Titans to the Baltimore Ravens.
Jacoby Myers.
Jacoby Myers, huge trade from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Shaheed to the Seahawks.
Is that everything?
I think so.
Everything from today.
from today. All right, without further ado, ladies
gentlemen, we had a chance to catch up
with the guy who kicked the longest
field goal in the history of the NFL
this past weekend. We tried
to do this a couple times now. This man brings
good news, big news, especially
whenever he's on this show, Cam Little.
Ladies and gentlemen, the man
who holds the longest
field goal in the history
of the NFL, and it's not
even his longest that he is kicked
in an NFL sanctioned
game. Ladies and gentlemen,
68-yard bomber
from the Jacksonville Jaguars
and Wu-Pigsui.
Ladies of gentlemen, Cam Wittled.
Yeah.
Pleasure to be on the show.
I'm excited, man.
I always wanted to be on the show.
Piggyzoo-Soo-Ey!
There it is, yeah.
We always get it wrong.
Yeah.
We try our best, Cam.
Thank you for joining us.
And you said you've always wanted to be on the show.
I, since watching you kick a ball,
has always been very,
fascinated by how you create so much leg speed.
So let's just, let's dive into this.
I don't think you're like the most jacked guy.
I don't think you're...
No, that's a very fair statement.
Yeah, little is your last name.
I don't think you're tiny,
but you're certainly not one of these massive guys.
Have you always had an incredibly strong leg?
Like in soccer, whenever you were growing up,
were you always the free kick taker, always had a strong leg?
And how'd you get to this point?
Yes, I think that's where I kind of first started.
I was always good at taking free kicks and penalty kicks
and all that stuff kind of tied into me learning.
got to kick of football and obviously going to Cole's camps growing up, I never really had
the fastest leg and I developed a little later in my high school career when I was going to these
camps I saw guys that had faster legs than me and I would always ask him like, how are you guys
getting your legs faster? Because at the end of the day, that's what gets you the most power
on the ball. And so, you know, started developing a faster leg and now it's like my best trade
as a kicker because obviously I'm a 6 foot 1, 175 pound guy that cannot squat a huge amount.
So everyone always asked me, how do you kick the ball so far?
I think ball contact and leg speed is the key to kicking the ball so far and high.
Yeah, you're hitting the ball sweet.
Every time you're hitting that ball sweet, which is not easy.
You know, Vinnetary, I was very lucky to work alongside.
Obviously, everybody in the kicking world knows that in Vinny.
Whenever I got there, you know, I used to be a kicker in college,
and I had a strong leg, but I had no idea where the ball was going.
So his big thing was like, hey, you cannot sacrifice the sweet spot.
So if you have to swing 85% to hit the sweet spot, do that.
If you have to swing 75% to hit the sweet spot to do that.
Now, granted, if you can swing Hondo and hit the sweet spot,
that is where the magic comes.
And that's where the Cam Littles of the world come in, I do believe.
This generation of kickers bombing it further than ever,
you had a 70-yarder in preseason against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Everybody loses their mind.
You're like, holy hell.
And then obviously the conversation's about Aubrey in Dallas.
You hitting that 68-yarder now against the Raiders.
Because of the 70-yarder, were you confident?
walking out there this was going to be a make like that obviously has to be the mindset but
68 is so you're so much closer to the other uprights than the ones that you're kicking to what is
the mentality as you're walking out there cam yeah i mean you kind of go out there and logan obviously
logan and ross both do a great job of prepping me for this stuff they Logan always thinks i hit
the ball the best when i'm swinging the hardest and so um i told them right as i was going out there
to spot it i said i'm swinging hard at this football i'm making sure that i'm going to drill this thing
And so, you know, I spot the ball, and I'm looking down to the spot, and I tell him that,
and he's like, hit that ball hard, bowl.
He hit it hard and obviously stayed left middle and just stuck dead straight down that left middle the whole time.
And, you know, you go out there and you prep so much from deep in practice,
and, you know, you're working with your opt for fun back there at 60 plus sometimes.
And then for it to finally come to fruition again was so cool.
Yeah, in a real game, too.
They won't give you credit for that 70-yard, you know.
They won't give you credit.
They won't give you credit.
We will, obviously, because we've seen it.
before, but 68 in the history books forever, brother, at least for the time being.
Now, talking about hitting that 68 yard.
Last night, there was an op.
Go ahead, Tone.
Yeah, Cam, I don't know if you were watching the game at all or not, but when Aubrey goes
back to 68, and we had mentioned it yesterday on the show where, like, oh, the 68, you know,
this could get broken this season.
Aubrey's going tonight, and then he steps back to 68.
Is he one of the guys, like, when you go back and you're like, oh, no, like, is he going
to do it tonight?
Is he going to top me tonight?
Yeah, I actually wasn't watching the game
But I had got a FaceTime call from someone in there
Like, dude, you're watching this game right now
And I was like, no, what's happening?
He's like, no, he's about to tempt a 68
And I was like, yep, he's going to hit it.
One day? I get one day.
That is it funny. 63 live forever.
Then 64, then we get to 66.
You hit 68.
It almost only had a 24-hour shelf life.
That is a wild thing to think about.
Yeah, it's actually crazy to think about
I was talking to the media the other day,
and I was like, you know, this record's going to get broken season.
I want to live through this record.
You know, obviously, selfishly, I want the record,
but there's so many guys around the NFL that are so good at kicking footballs now
that I have a feeling it will get broken.
You look at Brandon Aubrey, for instance.
You look at Jake Bates, 64, twice last year in the U.F.
He's hit 60 plus with the Lions.
And so you look at guys that have that leg strength,
and it's honestly just impressive.
I think everybody has the legs.
Well, not everybody.
I saw a couple people come up short,
And, you know, some people were getting a QB ball in there instead of the K ball.
Let's talk about the balls a little bit.
How's it feel going in?
And I know you're just a young-ass, you know, kick.
You have no idea what it was like back in the day.
Yeah, you don't know what it was like with the brand new balls coming in to the games.
But this year, obviously, huge changes the K-ball.
Everybody's talking about it.
From your perspective, can you give your take on the K-ball being brought into the game
as opposed to a brand-new ball?
Yeah, I can.
Thankfully, we have the best equipment staff that we have a good equipment staff that we have
guy that is so good at breaking in football.
Like last year, you know, we would get them, obviously, the rule change where you can get
it through the week and you can use it three weeks and it's got to be out.
But last year you had to break in, obviously, you know, the ball 30 minutes before the game,
you got a guy in there breaking that thing in, like, it's, yeah, like literally sitting there
sweating and drenched in sweat trying to break in the football.
And so our guy did a really good job last year breaking the football's in.
And so we had a good K ball last year.
And I thought, you know, going into.
to this year, it does give you that bit of edge of you can hit the ball just about three or four yards
farther, I think, but I don't think it's enough to give guys, not give guys enough credit
because I think guys are just, yes, the K ball is going to make you kick the ball farther,
but I think guys in the NFL are just getting more talented.
I mean, you look, Brandon Aubrey just will speak on him for a sec, he's had four 60 plus
yarders, this season or something like that.
And so, and he was doing that last year too.
He did a 66 in preseason last year, and that's with the old ball.
So I think guys are just getting more talented, and specialists from high school to college to the NFL are just getting that more talented.
And I think that probably has more to do with it than the cable.
That's my personal opinion, though.
Now, I think you're accurate in saying that.
Now, you said three to four more yards for the ball coming in for the game.
We talk about brand new ball.
It's like 15 yards.
Brand new ball out of the box, 15, 20 yards.
Right new ball out of the box is a lot different.
Yeah, that's a nightmare.
Mentally, too, though.
I think going on to the field knowing that the ball is a ball that you've kicked before, mentally.
Yeah, I think that probably helps.
And I would like to say, as a, I'm 38 now.
How old are you?
22.
Jesus Christ.
You're the youngest kicker ever drafted in the NFL, by the way.
He was, youngest guy ever drafted in the NFL.
Absolute beast with that being said.
Not easy to get drafted at the kicking position.
But I kicked the soccer ball like 124 miles an hour.
I kicked like a 70-yard field goal when I was in high school.
So I had a very strong leg.
I think people would say, hey, this guy had a very strong leg.
Now, did I know where it was headed?
No.
I mean, that thing was, you know, there's a good chance that thing was traveling.
But nowadays, your guys' leg strength is just, it's, I don't even think I'd be top 15, top 20 in the league right now.
And you talk about how like the evolution, it all becomes from what, perfecting technique throughout high school with Jamie Cole and Nicole brothers.
And then also exercising and everything.
Do you think there's going to be a peak for this?
Like, do you think you guys are going to continue to go?
Because you're 22, you're only going to get stronger somehow if this really works out.
I think
even from last season
to this season
I think my leg
has just gotten
that bit stronger
like yeah
I was hitting from
60 plus last year
but I think
70 that one would have been
good from like 72
you hit there in Las Vegas
I think
I hit the net
bro
that hit the fucking net
and so like
you you make that little jump
and it was like
dude I didn't think
my leg could get
stronger from last year
but it has
and like you said
guys are just going to
keep setting the peak
higher and higher
eventually we're going to
see someone hit
a 75 yarder
so I think
it's just evolving and I think it will just keep peeking until eventually it can't peak anymore.
When that will be, we have no clue because there's going to be someone that's going to set it again.
Feels like it's not within the next 10 years with your little ass coming through their entire thing.
Also, having a great team around you and coaching staff is a part of it. Go ahead, Conman.
Yeah, Cam, how's your relationship with Liam Cohen? We've kind of heard a few different coaches talk this past week.
Matt LaFleur says, you know, he doesn't speak to the kicker. We saw Sean Peyton, you know, bark at Will Lutz before his game winner.
right through. What is your relationship with Liam Cohen? Did you get that Shiner from the
celebration after hitting that 68 yarder? I'll answer that question first. I got bit by a dog
when I was five. I was eating a baloney sandwich and got bit by a dog. Jumped up, tried to get my
baloney sandwich, but it didn't get my baloney sandwich, bit me in the eye. Hell yeah, you finish that
bologna sandwich. Yes, you did, Art. But, man, Liam has been such a good, just head coach to me.
I know sometimes you don't have the best relationship as far as head coach specialists.
They kind of want to leave you alone and let you do your thing.
But I think he instills a lot of confidence in me throughout the week, throughout prep, throughout pregame.
And, you know, we have a very good relationship with each other.
And, you know, throughout, you know, kind of prep this week, you know, during field goal period, he's out there.
Nice operation, nice kicks.
You know, nice punts, Logan.
So that's something for me that is huge to hear out of my head coach because as a special
unit, we want to know that our head coach is involved with us. We want them to be, you know,
acting like, knowing it's a big deal. And so Liam is a superstar about that. And I can't
thank him enough as a head coach because he does care a lot about us as a specialist. And that
one-on-one relationship is forever indebted. Yeah, I'm happy you're an athlete. You know,
some of these kickers, you know, you've been those kicking camps, not athletes, you know,
and that's like who these coaches, like, I'm not talking to the kicker, I'm not talking to
kicker you're treating them as if they're not athletes like hey these guys are just coming out to
do there you can tell how much the coach respects the athleticism of the kicker with how they
interact with each other lafleur saying i don't talk to kickers is like okay he's a dickhead
that's that's exactly that's exactly how i would view that it's venetary imagine leflore's saying
i don't talk to you either like what are we even talking about so i respect and appreciate
that and i don't know if you heard leum cohen say he felt like he won a super bowl after you
hit that he said he said it felt like we won a super bowl after he hit that because the
excitement. Now, you guys had to go out in the second half and overtime and go win that game and you're able to do that. But I love how much Liam has supported you. And I like how many opportunities he's given you because of the amount of shit he's seen you do in practice. On that note, you made history, brother. It'll live on forever. Debutt has a question for you. Absolutely. We had a chance to go down to Canton at the Hall of Fame and they do a great job preserving different things from the game. You said history. You made history. So have you put any thought about or do they just come in and take what they're going to put in the Hall of Fame?
to be enshrined forever.
Man, I'm definitely keeping the football.
That's 100%.
I'm still deciding if I'm going to give it my jersey or not.
But I think I might let it go and let Canton have that one.
Let the jersey roll, bro.
Let the jersey roll.
Canton, dude, the fact, they'll put your ass.
They'll have lights on that thing.
They'll have a picture of you.
Keep the ball for sure.
Have that.
I still have the ball from the 70 as well.
Actually, I was telling my coordinator, my ball, I haven't put it on a plaque yet.
It's actually sitting in my pantry.
right next to some protein bowlers in my pantry.
I haven't moved it yet.
So, um,
he's 22 years ago.
This guy's 22.
He's got no idea about life.
Okay.
Uh,
we need to get those things in some frames.
We need those things lit up with LED.
We need them put on the wall.
Because you're doing special stuff, brother.
Legitimately.
Very special stuff.
It's been an honor to kind of watch you go about doing your thing.
22 year old.
This guy has no idea about life at this point.
Who cares?
Ty has a question for you.
Yeah, Cam, speaking of all that, you know,
You being an athlete and the relationship you have with Coach Cohen,
like at this point, you know, if you're going back to 70 people or, you know,
you're kind of in that Aubrey territory.
If you maybe talk to him a little bit like, hey, maybe we do like a fake field goal pass here.
You give me the opportunity to throw a 70-yard touchdown.
Or maybe I just, I tuck and run.
And I give a couple people, a few shoulders to chew on, you know,
and maybe I get a 70-yard touchdown run.
Like, is there any of that kind of stuff going on behind the scenes now?
man i think uh there's a funny story actually me and logan uh my holder and the punter um we're talking about trying to you know what does a fake field goal look like and i was like dude do you think i could ever run a fake field goal and he goes if you ever have the ball on your hands i would be extremely worried one because i think you would get broken in half and two you can't throw so i think we might stay away from the fake
Logan's a beast though
Logan is a beast
He's an athlete
You talk about a guy that's an athlete man
That guy
Talk about his punting
That dude is unbelievable
I know we're talking about
Fake field goals
That guy is unbelievable
Pudding the football
And throwing the football
So to have a guy like that in my room
That's leading me
And to have a guy like Ross
Snapping it
Two-time All-Pro Snapper
And a all-pro punter last year
Both pro bowlers
Like they set me up for success
And those guys are a leader
What they do
So it makes my job a lot easier
That's a good place to be when you got a snapper and a hole
or they're all pro alongside you.
And then you've got a kicker that can hit from 68 and 70.
Liam Cohen's living a good life whenever it comes to special teams.
Please tell Logan Cook we're massive fans.
That big country fucking bomb balls, dude.
He can, man.
He is unbelievable.
I'll tell you what, Jacksonville's not a bad place to call home either.
I know you guys.
No, uh-uh.
Yeah.
A lot of fun.
Yeah, you're 22.
All right, enjoy your life.
All right, ladies and gentlemen, kicker for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Record setter.
History Maker.
Ladies and gentlemen, Cam Little, had a bad.
