Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to our humble abode, the Thunderdome. On this magical, Overreaction Monday, November 10th, 2025, this program begins right now. Football! He is awesome, and we had a great weekend of ball, and we can't wait to dive into all of it. Now, first things first, we'd like to say, happy birthday to the Marine Corps. Turns 250 years old today. Older than the United States of America. Started as a militia in a bar.
Starting point is 00:00:31 Now it's a group of badass dogs who obviously say, yeah, I'll go. First, the fight is their mantra. Urah, kill sleigh. Happy birthday to them. And also, a big announcement, tomorrow we will be live from Paris Island, which is the Marines boot camp
Starting point is 00:00:46 for the eastern half of the United States of America down in South Carolina for Veterans Day. We'll be down there. And we're going to be the, I think the only show that'll be live from a military base tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:00:57 and I think we're potentially the only show that's ever been live from Paris Island, obviously the home of the Marines. And everything that we'll be kind of showcasing and chit-chatting about tomorrow will hopefully be one big thank you to all the folks that signed a line saying they were willing to go to war for this particular country that I'm lucky to call home. And I can't thank you all enough for allowing us to do this. And tomorrow should be pretty epic. There's going to be a lot of pop-ins and a lot of features from a lot of different people.
Starting point is 00:01:25 And it should be exciting. Happy birthday to the Marines, and tomorrow we will certainly be honoring our vets in a big way from Paris Island as we get a chance of chit-chat about the greatest thing on earth, which is sports. Sports unify the world. It is what makes everything special on this past weekend. We had a good one. The toxic table was here at Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt. One half of the hammer, Dodd Cowboys AP Tonus here. The beard's coming back, pal.
Starting point is 00:01:47 It is coming back. It's good to see. Like the mirror you're saying? Yeah. That's a good length right there. Because, you know, found out didn't have a chin. forgot. You found that out. Yeah, okay. I didn't know. One day I, I used to. You think? Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Eighteen-year-old Tony.
Starting point is 00:02:06 Oh, young Bill Carr in the making out there. I don't know what happened, got soft, but here we are. No, I think it's because you have such good beard. Your chin said, I'm never coming back. Look how good this beard is. Let me go ahead and take some time off. Good call. On that note, big things happening back in, in Pittsburgh this weekend. College Game Day will be going to the University of Pittsburgh in the city of Pittsburgh on a Saturday for a full college game day for the first time in 20 years as Notre Dame is still number five ranked team in the country, still very much in college football playoff conversation, national championship hunt. They're becoming the team that they hope that they would be early in a season, a couple tough teams they play. You know, losing Texas A&M at home, Texas A&M
Starting point is 00:02:47 the only undefeated team in the SEC still. They lose to Miami. At the time, Miami was a wag. Now, some things have happened in Miami throughout the season, but at the time, those losses, I thought were devastating. Then you watch those two teams play. It's like, maybe not that bad at losses early. And also, we would like more teams to play good teams, especially early in the season. So maybe we don't punish Notre Dame for the first two weeks of the season. Maybe we kind of let it all play out.
Starting point is 00:03:10 They've been kicking everybody's ass. And now they got Pitt. Pitt's still very much in it for the ACC title. Pitt can make the college football playoff. Nobody talks about Pitt. Pitt still has a road to the college football playoff and the ACC championship. And Narduzi and the boys are the same Pitt team that you know. They're a tough bunch, and their fans, I think, are excited for Saturday College Game Day coming outside of Acresher Stadium down there on the North Shore, just a few yards from Rivers Casino.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Okay. That's why I had to mention it, because whenever I saw a location, I was like, well, you can certainly get to Rivers Casino there quickly. Because Rivers Casino is a place downtown on North Shore right next to all the stadiums, basically. Whenever you come in a tiny go there, you just kind of tip Pittsburgh. You say, hey, you know, thanks for having me this weekend. Please look over me and bless me, and you lose. I don't think I've ever walked out of Rivers Casino as a winner. but it feels like a ritual just go in there and say, thank you, Pittsburgh.
Starting point is 00:03:59 Okay, walk around, say hello to some people, lose some money, win some, give it right back somewhere else, and then go have a time in Pittsburgh. That's right around the corner. This is going to be pretty epic, I do believe. A lot of Irish people in Pittsburgh as well, so who knows how many Notre Dame fans will be there. But I know the University of Pittsburgh students are certainly jacked up, and I'm excited to get back over there. And I think there'll be a lot of good beards.
Starting point is 00:04:21 If not good beards, it'll be good jaw lines, you know, as you kind of came and go. Yeah, it's a good beard city. yes, there are a lot of Notre Dame fans that live in Pittsburgh. The guy on the right in that graphic, Mason Hinchel, the quarterback for Pitt, true freshman, they are undefeated since he has taken over the starting job this year. He's a bit of
Starting point is 00:04:37 a phenom. So yeah, it'll be a good game and Pitt only one loss in the ACC with a lot of ACC teams that have one loss in there going for the playoffs. And this does not count as an ACC game for them, but obviously if they were to lose any others, they have no bid to get in there. So them beating Notre Dame massive for the University of Pittsburgh, especially
Starting point is 00:04:53 a freshman quarterback there. And then Notre Dame has to win to make it. So huge stakes. Other big games around the country, you know, Texas, Georgia, I believe what's happening down there in Athens. That's going to be gigantic. I think Ole Miss is hosting Florida. I think that's going to be a big game. I think the ticket price is going insane for down there in Ole Miss. So college football should deliver. But it would be nice to be in a town that, you know, hasn't had it in like 20 years of football town. Yeah. And a lot of people watch some pick games and maybe see yellow seats. You know, maybe it's not filled up down there. Yeah. Pittsburgh's a football city. Notre Dame.
Starting point is 00:05:25 coming to town. It'll be filled. I think it's going to be... Are you worried? Me? Yeah, about the WVU Pitts ties there. Yeah, the way it was worded there by the social media post. Pat's coming home.
Starting point is 00:05:38 It's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, Pittsburgh is home. Pitt, definitely not. No. Not at all. Complete office. You've had good times in Oakland? Yeah, certainly.
Starting point is 00:05:47 We all have. I mean, I think I'd probably have more good times in Oakland than most of the people in school probably right now at the University of Pittsburgh. Obviously, I have a lot of friends that went to Pitt being from Pittsburgh. But, yeah, in the whole sports thing. And who won the backyard ball this year? Okay, so I'm going in there in a good spot, but they certainly have some things that they can certainly say to me as well.
Starting point is 00:06:08 Yeah, I'm excited for it. I'm excited for it. I'm just pumped, just like with Texas Tech in Lubbock. I'm excited to go to a place that hasn't had it in a long time. You know, like learning about new places, new traditions. Like, Lubbock was insane, dude. They were so nice to us. Like, they were very, very thankful.
Starting point is 00:06:23 We were there. Very appreciative. of everybody. I mean, Joe McGuire comes there. They bring a damn horse inside. Sanctennial champion. That's just right on the show. Oh, sick. Let alone, like, everything else that was going there. It was like, they were so thankful and hospitable. And they wanted to showcase the world. Like, yeah, we love ball here. Like, that's basically what they wanted to do. And it was an honor to be down there.
Starting point is 00:06:41 And it lived up to the, Texas Tech fans. There were signs that were saying, like, Mormons versus alcoholics. Like, they were like proud. Like, hey, we can hammer some drinks around here. And they certainly did. Great catch up with Danny Amandola. He was around there. Got a chance to meet all the people that have kind of pieced this entire thing together. And they were all incredibly kind. They love ball down there. And they got the team and the money behind them and the community, I think, to be special for a long, long time. They get a huge win over BYU in the Big 12 race.
Starting point is 00:07:09 And Texas Tech is for real. But it was nice to, you know, kind of experience new college football stuff. For me, just selfishly sitting on the stage there new to the entire world, it was cool to experience that in what they're about. and obviously I know Pittsburgh very well the city I don't know a lot of pitch traditions in football stuff well at all okay I know if Dorel Revis catches a punt from me he makes everybody scores a touchdown
Starting point is 00:07:36 I know that's a tradition it seems like I think he's potentially going to be in the building this weekend Aaron Donald I think is going to be over there's getting a number retired yeah I think Tony Dorset is going to be there I think bringing out the big guys I think it's going to be a this not for game this is for the game I don't know what's going on with game day yet but like
Starting point is 00:07:53 Yeah, there's a lot. And then let alone, I think, Shady, potentially. I think it was on an email where I saw the name. It's like, I think, Tyler Palco is going to be. Oh, come on the phone. You know? Yeah, I saw an email. I saw his name.
Starting point is 00:08:03 I also got a message, I think, from Paco family. Say, hey, listen, as you know. He loves his team. Tyler Paco loves University of Pittsburgh. And just every 20 years ago, you know, Tyler Palco threw for six touchdowns against Notre Dame. Oh, yeah? Tyler Palco with his sweet hair in incredible looks. And then?
Starting point is 00:08:20 What's that? What do you do after that? What do you say on national TV? Drop the F-Bomb on live TV. It was awesome. I still remember it like it was yesterday. So I think there's going to be, you know, it should be an amazing weekend downtown, north shore there.
Starting point is 00:08:37 And I don't know if it's just going to be pit people there. I assume the city's going to show up, but I think it's potentially a lot of Notre Dame people that are going to come through as well. So it should be a pretty electrifying environment. Notre Dame's always been good at college game day since I've been on it. Every time we go up to Notre Dame, it's like the biggest crowd of all time
Starting point is 00:08:51 and their fans are literally everywhere. So I think Pittsburgh has a chance to be epic this weekend and we're going to be showcasing local food as well. Only the best. That's what happened to your chin. That's what happened to your jaw. When you started slandering good things from the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Starting point is 00:09:08 I've never done that. You did. That's when your jaw said, I'm not going to be a part of this and quit. That's when your jaw quit on you. You need to know that. Things were a little too good around here. I had to stir it up a bit. Rudy subs will be obviously
Starting point is 00:09:20 this weekend. Cannot wait for that. and maybe a couple other Paisano's foods make some appearances in there. It should be a great weekend. Stop. Anything but Roos. He has a good question. O.G. perhaps?
Starting point is 00:09:33 Neither of those places exist. Hold on. Please. Wait, wait. I'm not saying that. Please. I'm not saying that. Nine-year NFL vet a man who has a good football brain, but clearly. Those things.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Clear. Maybe it was the fact that it came out of Koboli's cargo shorts, but. Yeah. Eating out of Koboli's nature's microwave, he called his car. He shorts his pocket that was sitting there for four hours is when it's a bad sin. You need to change your tune right now when you're talking about Rudy's. Because this no-jaw-having guy started saying it the other day, the city of Pittsburgh started reacting.
Starting point is 00:10:03 Now you're starting to throw it in there. What did the city say? What? Did they agree or disagree? There's a couple notable moths over there in Pittsburgh that said, excuse me, maybe tones on to something. I was like, no, he is not. I don't know if, I don't like this.
Starting point is 00:10:17 This is what's wrong with modern society, okay? Everybody wants to be a partisan, even if they don't believe. it. They just want, you know, I do want to be a part of something. I'm not a lie completely. Cone started this thing. Foxy spotlighted, it, amplified it, okay? And then you got people saying, you know what? Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing. Jumping on board. I'm like, no, you have it.
Starting point is 00:10:34 You have, Rudy's sub is the best subs in Pittsburgh, and we will certainly all be enjoying them this weekend. I just want to say something real quick because Connor said it. I looked it up. There's not one Fazzoli's in all of Pennsylvania. Okay, well, then. We knew that. Nor should there be.
Starting point is 00:10:49 Okay, let's move along. Let's move along. Pittsburgh, the only thing we need to be talking about is the Steelers, am I right? Oh, what a snooogs vets. They can't hurt us anymore. A nine-year NFL vet, Darius J. Bothers here with terrible food takes and incredible football takes, and that's what you're here for. You look very cool with the hat. I don't know what's going on.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Lost and foul. It's always race season, boy. What is that? Hey, hey, we're coming to the end of a great season, boys. All right. We're right in the middle of it, actually. We've got to eat more weeks. No, no.
Starting point is 00:11:18 The F-1 season, the pinnacle. Obviously, football is the real pinnacle, but this is the pinnacle. motorsport. Yeah, they're doing it right now? Oh, they are doing it. When, when? They just did it in Brazil. Yes, now. Oh, I don't have YouTube TV. You know, I guess I can't say it. That's a shame. All right, let's move along.
Starting point is 00:11:33 What's that? F1 TV. Oh, they're trying to gouge your fans? I don't like that. I don't like that at all. Okay, let's move along to a sport. Congrats to G1, having a great season. No, no. Nobody saw it. Who won? Lando Norse.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Again. Oh, no, this guy cheats every time. race, though. Also, do not pass on congratulations. Who, Lando did on? No, me to F1. Okay, you're saying everybody else saying
Starting point is 00:11:57 congratulations or claps, you say not time. No, not tied. Yeah, it is football season. And on that note, you know, in most football situations, there's a first 15. It is a scripted first 15 plays that offensive coordinators have to kind of see how the defense will react to
Starting point is 00:12:11 their different formations and styles. It's very important to an entire game. So whenever you see a team go on a field and go three and out, that really just kicks them right in the balls. because the rest of the game was going to be dependent upon how those first 15 plays were going. Those first 15 plays, well thought out, well thought out. A lot of conversation. A lot of decisions are made.
Starting point is 00:12:31 And for us, we want to have the same thing because this is a ball show. Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for our overreaction Monday. First 15. Now, this is driven by RAM, and if you hit the gas pedal of a RAM truck, the only thing you're going to hear is RRARRR. And the only thing you're going to feel like is King, because ram trucks have the power you need and the luxury you deserve
Starting point is 00:12:51 ram trucks okay now let's get to our first 15 now put the clock up please what we're going to do differently see see yes oh okay yes second half job okay yeah yeah you see we're getting better the time of possession here yeah first half the season here
Starting point is 00:13:05 we're kind of bad we're still in it you know we're still playing meaningful football games in November we're not a sellers at the trade deadline by any means but we certainly weren't just dominate you know because we kept saying first 15 it's not about the time it's about the plays but then we put a 15-minute clock up there, and everybody's like, hey, it's 42 minutes,
Starting point is 00:13:21 so what's the clock for? And we said, you know what? You're right. Instead of counting down, we need to give no barriers to ourselves. Yeah. We need to explore everything in this first 15th. Why would we be setting up a three-and-out?
Starting point is 00:13:33 Why would we be setting up a slowdown of any good conversation, a stoppage of any play that we need? So we're starting at zero. We're counting up. Let's see how long today goes. Let's get this thing started with the top five headlines coming out of the NFL Slash. number five not all ass teams are ass all the time now what are you saying by that well what i'm
Starting point is 00:13:54 saying is some of these teams we've all just deemed ass we say oh that squad there ass that team right there not worth a damn that team can't beat any team let alone an NFL team or a good NFL team and what we need to remember debuts and i think this does get forgotten about whenever it comes to maybe the larger scale of football fans and NFL fans these are all professional athletes who are paid to try to play football good and to strategize against other teams, just like the good squads. So whenever we were 2 and 14, whenever we lost for 2 and, yeah, 2 and 14, whenever we got Andrew Luck, there was like nine games, there were one score games, that if the ball just so happened to and then pop up into some guy that played one NFL game in his life, it was this
Starting point is 00:14:37 particular game, and he just goes in the end zone, we win that game. So it's like, I think people just start to decide if a team is good and can win or if a team is bad and can't win any game. And then you kind of just toss away any of the wins that happen throughout the season with the bad teams. And then if they end up beating a team, oh my God, full panic.
Starting point is 00:14:56 It happened down there in Miami with the Buffalo Beals. Now, Josh Allen has struggled in Miami in the past. We all do recall a couple bad games for Josh down in Miami. That would continue. And his Miami Dolphins team, we all call ass. These teams ass. Instead, they still got water. And allegedly there were some teams, including the Buffalo Bills,
Starting point is 00:15:15 that were looking for Waddle. Even a first rounder in 2027 was offered up from a couple of teams for Waddle because of how incredible he is at football. But we all think he's really good. He needs to get the hell out of there because they're a bad team. And here they are on a Sunday. And they're beating the Buffalo Bales. And not just beating them, pounded them.
Starting point is 00:15:35 All three phases. There was a moment in fourth quarter. It was 16-0 in fourth quarter. There was a moment there were Josh Allen scores a touchdown. And it's like, hold the phone. Wait a minute. As Josh Allen finally got over his Miami flu. Is Josh Allen potentially about to turn this entire thing around?
Starting point is 00:15:49 Are the Buffalo Bill is about to do to the Miami Dolphins what we all expect to do just steal their joy and their hope in the fourth quarter? And the Miami Dolphins answered, Dibut. I mean, it was an ass kicking. Even when the bill started, the Dolphins would answer, everybody says their ass. Maybe they're not ass all the time, Dee Buck. And you mention it, and they hear it every day about how ass they are, not only players, but the coaches. who's getting fired next, who's getting traded. Obviously, the trade deadline is over now.
Starting point is 00:16:15 But the way these boys showed up, starting with H.N., absolute game record, ran through them. And it's the only place that the Dolphins beat the bills. You mentioned that earlier as well. And this was kind of an ugly weather game. It didn't show through on the camera much, but this was kind of some rain on and off, some sloppy. I love this.
Starting point is 00:16:31 I know a lot of people have a lot of thoughts about this, so they're acting like they won the Super Bowl. But, hey, winning is an amazing feeling. You mentioned every week in the NFL. is talented coaches, is talented players. You know, we got so break dances
Starting point is 00:16:45 and shit in the middle of the locker. And my initial reaction was like, oh, this is too much. This is this. But then I'm like, okay, I'm an old guy. I haven't been in the locker room. These are,
Starting point is 00:16:53 you're coaching 20 to 30-year-olds and you're excited about the win and you want to be excited about the win. So I love this what I saw not only on the field from the Dolphins, but off the field because Mike McDowell,
Starting point is 00:17:03 he's been getting on the shins all year long. So for him to have his boys come out and compete against a team that everybody picked the way. I'm sure a bunch of Survivor Picks, lost a bunch of parlayes
Starting point is 00:17:14 straight up wins. So unbelievable outing by the Dolphins at home. Very impressed with this outing. This was Miami's first win versus Bill since 2022. H.A.N. 1.1. 174. Six receptions for 52 yards and two touchdowns. Dolphins' defense force two fumbles, one interception and end up with three sacks. It's a hell of a day after trading away Jalen Phillips and also sending away
Starting point is 00:17:34 all your best talent. Hembo sent over a stat about this Bill's Rush defense. Week one, Derek Henry one for 169. one for 170, and then A chain goes for 174. If you want to win, hey, if you want to win in the playoffs, they're going to have to figure that out. They are going to have to figure that out. Now, obviously, these types of games are certainly possible for teams
Starting point is 00:17:53 and no fans want them to see them. But only one team in the history of the NFL has gone undefeated. It's a 1972 Dolphins. Every once in a while professional athletes are going to show up and put it together. And when that happens, they can beat anybody. That is kind of what the NFL has kind of been built upon. Parity, parody, parody, parody, any given Sunday. On yesterday, on yesterday's particular Sunday, good for you, one half of the hammer.
Starting point is 00:18:16 That Cowboys, Bobble Gumpie, how's it feel to be of a victory Monday here with the boys? Are you riding into laundry rack? Yeah, this is what the Dolphids look like after Chris Greer's gone. That team still believes in Mike McDaniel. You saw it in that video. Anthony Weaver called the best game he's had all year. Minka had a stop on that two-point conversion, just stuffed the guy at the line. best the defense has looked all year.
Starting point is 00:18:40 Jake Bailey dropped one at the one. All three phases, just unbelievable from the Finns. So a GM and a president has hated this bad in a building? Oh, my God. Thank God he's gone. That's what it's like down there. It feels like there was a new energy. And McDaniel, I mean, the way he's feeling, the way they're responding to him,
Starting point is 00:18:58 it feels like there's like a, hey, we're behind you type vibe. Good for the dolphins. Now, this could all change. Yeah, true. This could all just be, you know, take it in, boys. It's a good week. Take it in, boys. But this is the NFL.
Starting point is 00:19:09 We'll see. This is literally the NFL in a nutshell. And also, down to Miami later in the year, we got snow on the ground out here. Going down into Miami, the humidity, that also plays effect. And also, there is a Miami flu. We've all been done there. There's a lot of distractions. That's why we think it's going to be hard for the dolphins to win.
Starting point is 00:19:24 Other teams have also struggled down there as well. I mean, like, make a Fitzpatrick bringing it. I don't know if that was his first game as a Miami dolphin, but I know he's been out for a little bit, him being back. And then, I mean, Ty dropped a bar about Jalen Phillips being out of the building. And, like, you would assume, you know, trading your best player, Jalen Phillips on defense, at least. There might be a little bit of a, you know, falloff, but, like, not at all. If anything, though, you know, you just said it.
Starting point is 00:19:45 That was the best their defenses looked. Yeah, congrats of the dolphins get a big win. And to the bills, okay, these types of losses open your eyes to what's possible in the bigger games down the road. They're going to have to get that fixed. And then you go to the NFC South. Who's ass down there, Saints? Mm-hmm. Well, who's not asked this year, maybe?
Starting point is 00:20:05 Panthers. Go football team. Winnie Rock. Had one. Saints, Tyler Shuck, 75-year-old rookie. Out of Louisville. Dog. Absolute beast. They had no turnovers or something like that. I forget he had a bunch of rookie records
Starting point is 00:20:18 for how he performed. Kelly Moe might have a guy. And when they drafted him, I think it was like third round or something like that. Whenever they drafted him, they forgot, they acted like this was a starter. And everybody was like, well, if this is your starter, why wouldn't you draft him earlier? It was like, well, we knew what his value was. We knew how people viewed him. They liked him very, very early.
Starting point is 00:20:35 He gets a win over the Carolina Panthers, and a team that's one in eight somehow beats a team that's five and four. And one in eight team, we all said was ass and we're dead. They get a huge win over the, you know, kind of new favorites around town. You know, we're not doing the pumps anymore. Nope. We're not doing any pumps anymore. Hey, all right, we're out of here.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Got a message from Keegan, you know? Canales is talk of the town. Rico Dowdle might be the best player in football. All of a sudden, Carolina is up and to the right in a huge way. and the New Orleans Saints, just like their location on the map, nobody was talking about them way down there. Nobody. Hey, who are the ass teams?
Starting point is 00:21:11 Well, the Jets and Saints. They're real bad. They're the ones that we're talking about like with a college football team. Now, I don't think any of this year's college football teams, well, maybe this Ohio State team. Honestly, we have no idea. I mean, there's a chance they're the greatest of all time. If they go through college football playoff,
Starting point is 00:21:26 the same exact way that they've been going through this season. There's a chance. And there is a chance. People are going to do the Ohio State could be NFL team. No chance. Never could, by the way. That is not how it works. That is why people kind of get confused about how good NFL talent is.
Starting point is 00:21:40 But the Saints would have been the team that was in that conversation whenever people started doing that later if the Ohio State kind of runs it. Them getting a big win is indicative of like, hey, when they show up, any team can be great. Once again, another coach having his boys ready to go. Tyler Shuck, he was past the job. He earned the job, won the job over. I guess Spencer probably played itself out of it. But he showed up.
Starting point is 00:21:59 Chris Oliva, another guy who was loud on the trading block, he showed up and had a had a big game as well. And both of those games with Dolphins' Bills and then the Saints, the Panthers, divisional games. So you notice, whenever, records, you've got to throw those out the window when you're playing a team and a coach
Starting point is 00:22:13 that's very familiar with those opponents. Eight minutes in, still on the first one. Yep. Maybe we should have had the clock kind of dime instead of up. Tyler Shuck is the first Saints rookie to, rookie quarterback to win a game since Dave Wilson in 1981. He was good.
Starting point is 00:22:28 Zach Wilson's poppy. Yeah. Pop is poppy. Oh, okay. Yeah, I think he was potentially fodder. fodder type thing. Arch. Arch had a tough time there with the Aaints for a while. They did. They weren't the best football team. Arts is dog, though. Everybody knows Arch was a dog. And yeah, the Ains had some times. And then obviously Drew Brees, Sean Payton,
Starting point is 00:22:47 come in. They beat a team in the Super Bowl with a kick-on. So I kickstart second half. And we're losing that at that time. There was a 22-year-old kid that was on the other team. I thought he was getting a Super Bowl and didn't even know how to do his own job. It didn't really have to contribute much. But got an A on a paper like he was Tyreys Hall of at the Olympics instead yeah onside kick pick six way never going back hard times brother but good for the saints yeah little baby with a headset on oh yeah yeah i walk into a locker room contributing nothing no ability to save game either at any time doing an entire thing kind of a spectator if you will but would have got a ring walk in there devastated
Starting point is 00:23:33 Boy, can't imagine. The most positive people I've ever seen in my life. Ruined in that locker room. And I didn't fully understand what was happening. We'll be back next year. We weren't. You're after that. No, we're almost completely defeated.
Starting point is 00:23:52 And all my friends were cut. GM was fired. And we had Andrew Luck as a quarterback. And what do we do? Back. We started fighting back. Made playoff. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:03 made the NFC championship. Oh, my God. Then we did. Yeah. Then we did. Then we did. What happened? Then we did.
Starting point is 00:24:08 They were retired. If you title again, how was it? We got cheated. Yeah, the balls. Still an investigation. Why, Andrew, retired? This is the balls. Patriots.
Starting point is 00:24:17 This is a ball that's Patriots for you using. That's a Bill and I a science guy told me. That's a Bill and a science guy told me. But nonetheless, really hard makes Super Bowl. Saints win Super Bowl. Finally. Hey, here it is. Here it is.
Starting point is 00:24:28 And then kind of all goes to hell. This year, supposed to be hell. Absolutely. but not all ass teams are ass all the time that's number five ten minutes it's got number four headline coming out of the weekend NFC favorites fornicate
Starting point is 00:24:43 four o'clock slate yeah that we all saw it let's go to our nation's capital Detroit Lions pounded Washington I mean just pounded the Washington commanders at one point during this game in the third quarter the president of the United States was in the booth
Starting point is 00:24:59 and the Washington commander scored and his first reaction was that's good for ratings, right? That's good. This is actually kind of a game now as opposed to what it was. The Detroit Lions with Dan Campbell calling plays were exactly what the Detroit Lions last year with Ben Johnson were calling plays. He had glasses on. I guess it wasn't easy to tell from watching the game that he was certainly calling plays while he was actually talking and Jared Gough was nodding his head like this. And then Johnny Moe up in the booth wasn't saying really anything. But I guess we didn't know for sure if he was calling plays. Turns out he was.
Starting point is 00:25:33 and their entire offense is good. And their defense, incredible. Kelvin Shepard, defense coordinator first year, former teammate of ours, obviously now running the show for Detroit on defensive side. Might have been around for that LSU job. I don't know if he wants it. Obviously, he just got defense coordinator job
Starting point is 00:25:48 in the NFL that is a huge deal, one step away from an NFL head coaching job. I don't know if he, I've not directly asked him, but LSU, Kelvin Shepard could be possible so the Lions could be dealing with another turnover of a coordinator, which was the entire question going in. New offense coordinator, he's Don. Dan Campbell's now calling place.
Starting point is 00:26:06 So basically three offense coordinators in about two years, right for you, Ben Johnson, new Johnny Moe, and Dan Campbell. Defense coordinator, obviously, two in two years, and they're still dominating, and they're still at the top of the NFC, and they're still ruining a four o'clock slate. What did you learn yesterday from the Detroit Lions? Oh, you know what? I'm going to be honest with you. I didn't learn much.
Starting point is 00:26:25 I knew they were a dominant team. I felt like the Detroit Lions are a legit contender to win it all this year. Jared Golf just kind of ho-hum, another great. game by him over 300 yards. You got Jamir Gibbs going. He had a big day after having a bad outing last week against the Vikings. And then Jamo, Jamo made some noise
Starting point is 00:26:42 a couple weeks ago. What was some noise around him, should I say about him not getting the ball, not being using the offense. And Dan Campbell made it a point to get the ball, probably in his first 15, to get the ball to number one. And he made good with it. So he got targets. He made his big plays. But yeah, we know they are offensively
Starting point is 00:26:59 and defensively the command. This is just so, so bad. So it's, I don't Honestly, I didn't know much to it. There's a team that's ass. This was the outcome that was supposed to happen, in my opinion. But not ass all the time, which is why they're going to do his thing. If they put it together, good team. But if not, they look like they look, and especially against Detroit Lions, you're ready.
Starting point is 00:27:20 Foxy, there's some hembo stats here about the Lions' offense through nine games, and they make a change at the offense coordinator position. In 2024, Ben Johnson obviously ends up getting hired as a head coach as the belt of the ball because he's an offensive genius. 2.7 points per drive, 46% scoring drive, 33 touchdowns, 10 turnovers. 2025, 2.8 points per drive, which is absurd, by the way. A field goal every time they get the ball at least, basically. 47% drive for score and 34 touchdowns, 6 turnovers.
Starting point is 00:27:45 You guys are better than ever, and Dan Campbell's put himself in a driver seat? What the hell's going on, boxing? I will tell you what, everyone is fired up about this. They love that MCDC's calling plays. Jared Goff over 300 yards, three touchdowns. Jamir Gibbs 173 total yards, three touchdowns. Jammo, over 100. yards a touchdown. LaPorta had five catches. St. Brown had five catches. Everyone was getting
Starting point is 00:28:07 the rock. Everyone was loving what this offense was doing. And we're rolling now and we're not looking back anymore. Love you, Johnny Moe. He had a lot to do with this play calling. But this is MCDC's offense now. Okay. Yeah. MCDC says, we've got a lot of guys, man. We got a lot of guys. A lot of miles of feet. Everybody's coming in my office on Monday saying, Ballmore. You know what? I will. Awesome. scored on every single possession in the game, no turnovers. It was literally perfect.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Yeah, I mean, the stats saying you're scoring almost three points of drive is insane. Because there's games where you have like three, four drives you don't score, obviously. So making up for those, it doesn't happen. Detroit Lions seemingly all the way back to who we thought they were offensively. Ty, you've got to be scared to death of this Detroit Lions team. Because if MCDC can just take over either coordinator position, it doesn't matter if they sub out. It doesn't matter if Kelvin Shepard ends up being the head coach.
Starting point is 00:28:59 at LSU if he wants that or any NFL job that potentially opens up because what he's been able to do with his defense so quickly because MCDC will have offensive side here, bang, defense aside here if he has to. That's what he's willing to do. That's got to be scary in the NFC North. I wouldn't say I'm scared to death because the Packers have one in the hand already on the Lions. But again, that was Johnny Moe call in the plays, not MCDC. But I think yesterday just reaffirmed. Like there's been a lot of talk about the Bears because they've won several in a row. You know, the Vikings had, I mean, discount yesterday, Vikings with JJ and, you know, B.A said, hey, we might get four teams from the NSC north end. The Packers are, you know, what they are,
Starting point is 00:29:39 but it's very evident that, like, when the Lions play their A to, like, B plus game, they are the best team in that division. They're still the team that you need to slay. So it'll be very interesting, but I just look at, I mean, you look at the, like, bears are great right now, obviously, Lions hung 50 on them and beat the shit out of them. The Packers game, it is what it is week one. The Lions are a much different team when they meet again on Thanksgiving and then the Vikings are, whatever. But if the Lions can play like this, you'd be hard-pressed to find a team that's better than
Starting point is 00:30:08 them in the NFL. Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic and Knuckles, they got Sonic and Knuckles everywhere. Yeah, yeah. Wide receiver, we got Sonic and Knuckles, tight end. We got Sonic and Knuckles running back. We got Sonic and Knuckles in offensive play callers, we got Sonic. True, yeah. We kind of got literally, and now some Lions fans are saying, well, there are some games you got
Starting point is 00:30:26 and some cheeks all over the place but Sonic and Knuckles seemingly everywhere around the line and then there's even a toughness to the team that brings out other people to just punch him in the face. Did you guys see this?
Starting point is 00:30:39 I don't know if everybody saw this. He got suspended for a game for this just out of nowhere, no look, kind of a little bit of a sneaker boom! A little sneaky, sneaky, sneaker, boom, right to the button. Now, he has a helmet on, okay?
Starting point is 00:30:53 So obviously you're going to be protected that's literally what the helmet's on for that. But Amon Ross St. Brown's hands are down, and he's walking a different direction. I'm not sure he knew a looping right was coming at his helmet. I had to say so. But I'll tell you what, I'll tell you what, the NFL did not like it. The NFL did not like it immediately. Yep, they suspended.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Can't have that, especially when we got a lot of eyes on this, because the president's going to be speaking in the third quarter, they're actually going to have a cold play. Oh, that's probably why he's like shit. I probably didn't like to dance. Just thought about it Chris Sims had no idea Somebody needs to tell him
Starting point is 00:31:30 Maybe what was going on At the beginning of that highlight They were trying to lead you to something there Maybe it was I can't wait I get next Yama Great dance by the way
Starting point is 00:31:40 I remember the talk of the town I thought it was the opposite of that I thought Darren Payne was more so saying Like I ain't gonna just sit here And get blown out in front of President Trump I'm gonna punch someone in the face I love that
Starting point is 00:31:52 And then I don't have to play the rest of the game So he knows you're saying. Yeah. I'll tell you what, a lot of people said a lot of mean things to me because I broke some news out of the way else. I thought it was journalism. What are we talking about journalism? They were meaning for breaking news?
Starting point is 00:32:04 Yeah, a lot of people saying, I was doing a lot of stuff. I was doing a lot of stuff. I mean, they're going to be crazy. I can't wait to see you out of there at tomorrow. I can't wait to see how they react. Tomorrow's a big one. Tomorrow's a, it's not for the first 15, because tomorrow is full 24 hours of honor and thanking.
Starting point is 00:32:18 But I'll tell you tomorrow is going to be, tomorrow's going to be big. Oh, yeah. Historic. Hi, birthday, Marines. Hi, birthday, Marines. It wasn't just the Detroit lines that made the four o'clock slate completely fornicated. Oh, no, no, there's two other options.
Starting point is 00:32:36 And the NFC West said, we'll go ahead and take care of those for you. Los Angeles Rams, dominant. Now, it did become a little bit of a game. This one one score game for a little bit, and then Matthew Stafford does ahead and hits the gas pedal at the end of this thing to put it away. This Los Angeles Rams team is special. offensively, they're special. Obviously, Puka Nakua is Puka Nakua.
Starting point is 00:32:56 He might be the best wide receiver in football on any given day whenever he's playing football. Insanely tough, very quick, vibes immaculate, and always wants to show up for his team. We love Ouse. They add Devante Adams, so now coverages have to do what they have to do. Down the red zone, they're damn the unstoppable
Starting point is 00:33:12 because you can't double Devante because you've got Puka on the other side. So Devante's one-on-one either with your second or third corner. And on the goal line, that's unstoppable. I mean, it's absolutely. and Matthew Stafford does just that every time. This is their goal line play. It's every single week. Hey, DeVante, whatever the hell you want to do to the guy.
Starting point is 00:33:31 If you want to go inside, you do it, you want to go outside, you do it. I'm going to hit you with the ball. They do it. Anytime they're inside the three, it's their tush push. They got the Hall of Fame right arm of Matthew Stafford and the Hall of Fame release of Devante Adams. They put that together and it's a touchdown creating machine. It's outrageous what they've been able to build,
Starting point is 00:33:49 especially because whenever they started building this team, they went all in and lost all their picks. They lost all of their picks. They weren't looking for the future at all is how everybody was judging them. And now here we are in that particular future. They're young on defense, very good. Offense, they have weapons.
Starting point is 00:34:04 And Matthew Stafford looks like he's 14, 15, 16 years old again, spinning it all over the yard. Was it because it had two be one into in training camp? This guy's outrageous. He's better than he's ever been. Yeah, we're worried about him. Anytime you got an old player, old quarterback coming into the season with a back injury, you're very, very worried.
Starting point is 00:34:21 but he's playing probably the best football of his career. This is now three straight games where he's thrown four passing TDs and zero interceptions, which is insane in the national football league. You talked about the players on the field. Obviously, everyone has the talent. We talked about it, but then the coaching. Coaching matters, and these are two coaches that are very familiar with each other. But Sean McVeigh has his boys rolling.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Tom Brady, I think this was a great call, the freaking no look. I mean, he's the OG of that. He's been doing that for a long, long time. He makes it look so. He's this. I mean, go out and try this in your back. backyard with throwing the 7 and 8-year-olds. This is tough to do, let it alone, on the NFL field.
Starting point is 00:34:56 But, yeah, Sean McVeigh has done a tremendous job. Tom Brady made a great point about something they're doing with their offense. They're using a lot of 13 personnel and then getting matchups with these wide receivers against linebackers and safeties because they're facing base coverages as opposed to like nickel coverages. So since week four, you talked about the 4-plus passing touchdowns, no interception. Since week four, he has 20 passing touchdowns to zero interception. Jesus. He's hilarious.
Starting point is 00:35:19 Hey, that's insane. He got drafted our class Look what we're doing Look what we're doing For a while How long we've been doing this We got drafted I got drafted
Starting point is 00:35:28 221 picks apart From Matthew Stafford I got 40 picks after him Damn What the hell Okay Hey dude That's a good
Starting point is 00:35:37 That's a good signing bonus In that in that In that economy Yeah We have four Your teammate Donald Brown In first round
Starting point is 00:35:46 I think he was 27th pick maybe And then we had Will Beattie go to the Giants in the second round and now Cody Brown go to the Cardinals in the second round. Donald Brown was a beast. I love that, man.
Starting point is 00:35:55 I hope he's good. We would all like to say what's up to him. But yeah, Matthew Stafford's only getting better somehow. It makes no sense. And his no-look passes are getting more, more very like regular now. Like it's just average stuff. I think a lot more people are doing it. But he has, to everybody's point, been doing this for his entire career,
Starting point is 00:36:13 which is why BA, who's called the quarterback whisper, said that Matthew Stafford was the only quarterback he'd go out and watch warm up because the shit he can do with it. Well, he's got weapons. He's got McVeigh calling the plays, and he can still do it. He's special right now. MVP at this age would be wild for Matthew Stafford.
Starting point is 00:36:29 Yeah, definitely deserves it. And I believe Brady said on the broadcast that he's never been an all-pro quarterback, so we can lock that in for first team. But Brady also talked about how, you know, the no-looks started with Calvin Johnson because, like, everyone knew, okay, it's Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson on the lines.
Starting point is 00:36:46 That's where the ball's going. So he just naturally started working on the no-look passes. But aside from that, Debaugh brought up the 13 personnel. Now that they can just roll out three tight ends, Higby, Ferguson, who was their second round pick from Oregon, and Parkinson, who scored that touchdown there. They can legitimately beat you on offense. And I don't know how you can game plan for it. Hey, let's talk about another team in the NFC West that can win it all. The Seattle Seahawks team is hilarious.
Starting point is 00:37:12 They are so good. Good for ball team. And we thought the Cardinals were good. We liked the Cardinals. The Cardinals might still be good. They had a couple touchdowns they put up there. This was a boat race early. This was a lot of points to no points in Seattle.
Starting point is 00:37:25 And Jackson Smith and Jigba gets on the board early. I think you went down for a little bit. Something happened to something? Yeah, I don't remember. It was late in the thing. I think I saw a photo. Maybe not. Let's just act.
Starting point is 00:37:34 If nobody else heard it or saw it, let's not even talk about it. We have a man on the phone here in about a minute and a half would be able to give us some updates at all. But the Seattle Seahawks outrageous, how good they are. Sam Donald's so good. On the ground, so good. Through the sky, so good. Defensively, tough, hard-nosed, signed, gap control.
Starting point is 00:37:52 It's like everything about him smells a... Stank who won a champion. Another legit contender right here. We always start with the quarterback, Sam Darno, has been playing a very, very high level. But this game got out of reach early because of the defense. Two fumble returns. I don't think this has happened in, I don't know how long,
Starting point is 00:38:10 but DeMarcus Lawrence had two fumble. Same two players on the strip sack and the fumble return, which is crazy. Jacoby Brissette kind of never had a chance he was under duress all afternoon long He'll stay in there Whatever you're in possession like that Give the Seahawks extra possession
Starting point is 00:38:25 You got no chance It's a tough tough ball club from the top to the bottom Jacobi will stay in there and he certainly had to do It was like seven sacks in the first half There was About him Him being back is crazy Just because Jackson Smith and Jigba's having the season
Starting point is 00:38:38 He's having oh yeah triple crown Actually quadruple crown winner Just from five six years ago Also on the team and hopefully healthy for the entirety of the year. Congrats to the Seahawks. The NFC's favorites, though, have kind of separated themselves. And tonight, it's Eagles and Packers.
Starting point is 00:38:52 So, you know, we're going to learn a lot here, I think, over the next few weeks. But it feels like we're starting to know who's who in both the conferences. The NFC favorites dominated that 4 o'clock time slot. And we all started doing stuff other than watch the games. That was crazy. Big time. That was a weird thing. Three games, all of them bad, not good.
Starting point is 00:39:11 That's why March Madness has like 15 games on at the same time. Exactly. Hey, a couple of these are going to be asked. We've got to find a good one. We need that yesterday. Let's go to the number three headline. The sports books and Steelers fans, no. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:39:22 Okay? Sportsbooks had the Baltimore Ravens at like two and four, two and five as the favorites to win the AFC North when the Pittsburgh Steelers were four and one or whatever that hell was, five, four and two, five and two, whatever the hell they were. Okay. They were way down early. Steelers spent all the money on the roster and were winning. And the sports books did not budge.
Starting point is 00:39:41 They're like Baltimore Ravens are going to win the AFC North. this is how this is going to go for weeks and weeks and I actually just thought it was so preposterous and I'm like well this sounds like it has to be right so I've literally only picked the Ravens just because it's like the time travelers who do the sports books things are saying this is going to happen and lo and behold it seems like it is happening
Starting point is 00:40:01 Lamar Jackson and the Ravens getting very very good okay very very good a couple turnovers from J.J. McCarthy obviously the defense is only going to get better from where they started this entire thing in Lamar Jackson, after he goes ahead and takes the ping pong tables and the cornhole board and everything out of the locker room comes back from his hamstring injury, completely locked in. Connor is giving a great face right now because obviously Drake May, JJ McCarcy conversations are going to happen. JJ will miss, okay, he will miss by a lot. He will miss by a lot.
Starting point is 00:40:34 He's got to get better with his accuracy, which I think is possible if you go back to like Josh Allen, there's a chance he's able to do that. Has competitive spirit, all that shit. he misses a lot of throws by a lot, but he also makes throws out of nowhere that shouldn't be made. On that note, Baltimore Ravens... What Jeff is a slit? First off, that's not JJ either.
Starting point is 00:40:53 That's nine. Yeah, I'm sorry. Yeah, okay, okay, okay, you're right. It's his, he's on field. Maybe we need to see JJ. Maybe JJ's the NFL version. Yeah, maybe nine is in the NFL. Maybe nine retired with a national championship.
Starting point is 00:41:05 A lot of Will 11th in Michigan. There's... But in a leadership sense, He has a lot of Don Brady in them. That's right. Okay, so there's a lot of things you can look at that. I'll look on the other side. Baltimore Ravens are real.
Starting point is 00:41:17 And the Baltimore Ravens, the sports books knew they were going to be good. Lamar Jackson feels good. A lot of losses early. They're going to be chasing all season. That's good motivation for that team. And then the Pittsburgh Steelers get a huge win over the Indianapolis Colts. It makes me as a Colts fan. Don't worry, you'll see number one of the headlines here.
Starting point is 00:41:33 You'll see exactly where I'm at. Makes me as a Colts fan question some things. But we had six turnovers. Like, that's not going to be a normal day. but the Pittsburgh Steelers forced those things. You know, the Pittsburgh Steelers made great plays. It's like maybe the Pittsburgh Steelers are a team that we need to think about going forward.
Starting point is 00:41:47 That's how I felt after the Colts game. Last night, halftime, I said, fuck this. I'm going to bed. I'm not staying up for this shit. I mean, it was not good last night, but we think the Chargers are a good football team as well. But it feels like Steelers fans have been waiting for this particular game,
Starting point is 00:42:04 especially on primetime time. Yeah, there was about a week ago when I looked at the schedule to see what time this game was. Oh, shit, it's a primetime game. This is not going to go well. I don't know why things don't go well in primetime for the Steelers as of late, but they don't. Specifically on the offensive side of the ball, anything that could go wrong, did go wrong last night.
Starting point is 00:42:20 It was Aaron Rogers' worst game of the season by far. Wasn't even close. Was overthrowing D.K. Was underthrowing guys. That was not even, that was an overthrow for an interception. Baws missed a field goal. Inside 50. 45.
Starting point is 00:42:33 As soon as Baws missed a field goal, I knew the night was over. The defense played well. I mean, they held the charges to what? 12 points in the fourth quarter. Good route. But yeah, after Bob's missed and halftime, I said, I know what this team's going to do
Starting point is 00:42:47 in the second half, and it's not going to be good, so I turned it off. This team is not going to ruin my night and tomorrow morning. Okay, so I like that you said that. I like you said, but on that note, that's what Steelers fans have been saying
Starting point is 00:42:58 about the Steelers team, even when they've had the winning record debuts. Yeah, Steelers fan, I give them this. They know ball. Even when they were 11 or all those years ago, like, no, this ain't a Super Bowl winning team. Steelers fans are very, very truthful. They're knowledgeable.
Starting point is 00:43:11 They know their team. They know how they're going to show up on prime time. But I was surprised with this outcome because the Steel Curtin showed up now. It is true. It was only because the 05 team was there. Because this. Okay. Jack Carr here?
Starting point is 00:43:30 He better be. Zito's on the other one. Thank you, Zito. The thing that it closed, either. The fire trap door? Well, that is actually, I think that is sports media telling us through we have breaking news.
Starting point is 00:43:47 Brian Daibald has been fired. Wow! As the New York Giants head coach, in the middle of the first 15 here, our alarms were sirening off because, hey, there's breaking news.
Starting point is 00:44:03 Stop talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers losing the Chargers. You lost enough of your life watching that game last night. Pivot to some breaking news. The New York football giants are moving on from their head coach. Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, a senior NFL insider for ESPN, Michigan man, Adam Schaefter. Chefty, I know you were kind of waiting for us to finish while you were breaking that news. Did you expect that was coming this morning or is this kind of come out of nowhere for you, Shepty? No, I think that we kind of had a sense that this was possible. We knew
Starting point is 00:44:34 this was coming. And Pat, our timing has been impeccable over the last week. We're basically you're getting me on as we got Soft Gardner being traded Rashid Shaheed being traded Quinn and Williams was coming down last week I remind you of all the things I've done here it is it is just
Starting point is 00:44:52 Brian Gable who has been dismissed that is the only one and interesting this is in the midst of the season here this is pretty amazing when you look at it the Giants interim head coach
Starting point is 00:45:06 whoever that will be will be their sixth head coach since 2016. Jeez. Okay, so that's nine years ago, sixth head coach, obviously a lot of turnover. We saw the hard knocks
Starting point is 00:45:18 behind the scenes in the off season whenever, you know, Mara comes in and Shane talks about moving on from Saquan to go in with Danny Dimes. We've seen Dayball run the meetings, basically, for all of their picks
Starting point is 00:45:30 that they've done at the Combine and the draft process. Dayball knew this was a make-or-break season. Is that why he potentially wanted Aaron Rogers maybe his quarterback. Russell Wilson is a quarterback. James Winston is a quarterback like a veteran quarterback to be able to go on a run. And what does this mean for Jackson Dart and a development of the future here, Shafty, in your eyes? Well, I think here's the deal. Jackson Dart has been evaluated for four concussions this year, four. And so the biggest thing this team can do is make sure it's protecting its quarterback. We've got a quarterback that has been evaluated for concussions. We've got a team that is blown double-digit leads in four different
Starting point is 00:46:13 road games. They are the inverse of the Chicago Bears. They've been in position to win all these games and haven't gotten it done. And I think that at some point in time, you make the decision that we're not going to move forward to this guy. I think this is a team also that put so much money and time and investments and picks into its defense and the defense is one of the worst in the league right now. And so I think that they feel like they need a reboot here. And they made the decision to move on from Brian Dayball. We'll see who the interim head coach is. I'm trying to think of the candidates on staff. Mike Kafka is the
Starting point is 00:46:54 offensive coordinator. He might be a candidate here to take over as the head coach, though they may want him to concentrate on the offense, in which case it would be the special teams coach. so yeah but brian dable becomes the second head coach let go this year following brian callahan in tennessee you talk about the defense and having all these players supposed to be good and being dreadful then it makes you automatically go to Shane so Shane not they're not moving on from Shane right now you say the general manager do we think not right now i'm told that brian dable is the only one i look i think it's fair to assume that when you're firing the head coach everybody is going to come under review
Starting point is 00:47:34 everybody what they do with that we'll see that'll be up to john marr steve tish and others but obviously they felt like this was a move that they had to make today um okay we appreciate the insight and thank you for joining us here immediately we've talked about a few things in this top five headlines do you mind if we go to number two right now while you're on here what is number two more visible picture at the mvp picture it feels like there is now a three horse race for the mvp in drake may Matthew Stafford and Jonathan Taylor. First we'll go with Drake May. Unbelievable for his second year, second head coach, second offensive coordinator.
Starting point is 00:48:12 Three, if you go back, three years for him back to college. He is leading this Patriotsie. I mean, it is fun to watch. Had him early. You know, it feels like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Todd Bowles' defense, had him early because I was reading Conner's tweets about it. It's like, well, a tough day with Todd Bowles right now, tough day. Then he makes this throw.
Starting point is 00:48:29 With a guy about to hit him, has to be a touch pass with like a quarter throw. and it's like, this dude is special, special. And it's not just us saying that, Schefter. Sportsbooks have him as the odds-on favorite to win the MVP. That is insane to think about at this stage. Matthew Stafford, we just talked about being immaculate. And then Jonathan Taylor, this dude's special. 250 yards or whatever it was in Germany yesterday.
Starting point is 00:48:54 He's been doing it all season. There's a lot of stats and facttoids about what he's been doing versus Adrian Peterson and Adrian Peterson's MVP season. And up to this point, obviously what the teams were, 8 and 2, 6 of 4. He has 17 touchdowns. I thought we had seven touchdowns, 1,39 yards from scrimmage, 1,283 yards from scrimmage. So what Jonathan Taylor is doing is obviously historic and obviously better than an MVP season was for a running back in the past. Adrian Peterson, we all have massive respect for us as a football player.
Starting point is 00:49:28 He was untackable, and Jonathan Taylor is the same damn thing. And when Jonathan Taylor gets any space, he's gone. He is winning games for the Indianapolis Colts. And you got everybody on that team. You know, Zaire at the end of that 44 was saying, you're the best player in the world, literally on camera. I got a text from Daniel Jones and said, we got the best player on earth than Jonathan Taylor. He said, life is good with him.
Starting point is 00:49:48 Nobody expected this from the Colts, Adam Schaefter. And I don't know if anybody expected this from Jonathan Taylor either. If you're a voter, which I don't know if you are or not, are you going to give it to a running back, Shefti, or is this just a quarterback award you think through in the through? Well, here's no recidia, Pat. If we go back the last 12 years, 12, okay?
Starting point is 00:50:10 The quarterback is one, the most valuable player. By the way, Mike Kafka, officially, the interim head coach for the New York Giants. Mike Kafka, the interim head coach for the New York Giants, he takes over
Starting point is 00:50:23 for Brian Daibald, who is let go here this afternoon. I want to give you something here that's interesting. The quarterback position, a quarterback is one NFL MVP each of the last 12 years. If we go back over the last seven, there are 50 voters for the MVP award. My friend Peter King pointed this out to me this morning. There are 50 voters for the MVP award. In the last seven years, there have been 350 first place votes for the MVP. Of those 350 votes, 349 over the last seven years have been for course.
Starting point is 00:51:02 The only single vote, single vote in the last seven years, not for a quarterback, was for Cooper Cup in 2021. Other than that, a quarterback has gotten every first place vote for the MVP award. So that tells you that Drake May, Matthew Stafford, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, they're in the lead. However, saying that, I am not a voter, I'm glad I'm not a voter. But I guess I'm not, you know, I've never been asked to be a voter. I've not been a vote since I was younger.
Starting point is 00:51:37 Those privileges were revoked. My Hall of Fame privileges were revoked when I was in NFL Network. They never gave him back to me. I guess I can make fun of it now. Nobody ever gave me back. And there are a lot more, there are a lot of people out there that know the game way better than me. So they don't need my vote. And they don't need me to vote on the Hall of Fame either.
Starting point is 00:51:56 Of course. There's a lot more than me. Oh, geez. A lot of people outside. Jesus. Hey, everything's all right. We're okay, boys. Thanks for coming, boys.
Starting point is 00:52:04 Mitt, let him know. Dayball was just getting fired, dude. So the fire alarms went off here in Indianapolis. But I did not know you got your voting privileges revoked. I'm happy you keep that chip on your shoulder every single day when you wake up and try to change the course of the NFL with your breaking news. 349 of the 350 votes over the last seven years have gone to a quarterback. Cooper Cup, obviously everybody says he won the Triple Crown that year.
Starting point is 00:52:27 It was actually the quad because he got the yards after catch, too. So it was like catches, touchdowns, yards, and then also yards after catch he had. So it was like all four he was across the board. And he got one MVP vote. Okay, he got one. Jonathan Taylor's doing special things. Let's go to somebody who actually has an MVP vote AP tone. Running back, potentially in the running, especially with how good this Colts team is.
Starting point is 00:52:49 The position we're in, best team in the AFC. And he is clearly the best player on the team. Everybody on the team agrees that. Yeah, good news. Just got the email this week. I am back this year. I was glad to keep his show. Chefty, you bomb?
Starting point is 00:53:02 Jeffty's a bum. Chefty, you can send me your list. Maybe I'll take it into consideration or not. But yes, yes, Jonathan Taylor and a running back should always be considered when you're having a historic season like this. It doesn't have to be just a quarterback award. It's not named a quarterback award. So, yes, if Jonathan Taylor is the most valuable player, he should win the MVP award. Drake May, odds on favor to win the MVP.
Starting point is 00:53:23 No Patriots fan. I'm sorry. Well, that's what I was saying before I got in a little bit of a riff. I don't know how you don't. give the award today, today, November 10th, to Jonathan Taylor. The guys had four hat-trick games,
Starting point is 00:53:38 four games where he scored three touchdowns each. He right now is on pace to do things that very few running backs in the history of football ever have done. We're talking about a historic season. Now, again, there are a lot of games left. But look at the production. Look how it compares
Starting point is 00:53:58 to when Adrian Peterson won MVP. Good most thing. John has only scored 10 more touchdowns than him at this point, right? Oh, yeah. 10 more, right? Yeah. So, yeah, that's what I said. Again, Pat, if I did have a vote right now, I would vote for John, but I don't have a vote, so I can't.
Starting point is 00:54:15 Okay, yeah, we understand. You got to revoked. Once again, no, getting to back. Tone said he will listen to any ideas, but obviously he has more sway than you. He still has a vote for good reason. But let's go to the odds on favor right now because of everything you just chatted about. I think everybody just assumes, including sports books, inevitably at the end of the day, push comes a shove
Starting point is 00:54:32 whenever it's time to vote, they'll say the person that's touching the ball every single play is the most valuable position. That is normally the argument. It's not the most best player. It's the most valuable player. Quarterback's always going to be the most valuable. That's why they're getting paid $60 million a year because they touch
Starting point is 00:54:48 the ball every single play. Jonathan Taylor, I think Danny Dimes would be okay with him touching a ball every single play. And I think our offense would, but we got weapons everywhere else as well, which is why the culture is so good. Let's talk about Drake May, though. Odds on favor, man. Nobody expect that as a Patriots fan coming in the season, right? How could you expect the Patriots second year quarterback who wasn't the first quarterback drafted? He's on a brand
Starting point is 00:55:08 new head coach to be the MVP odds on favorite through 10 weeks. Congrats to you guys. And congrats to Drake May who seemingly has it all. Yeah, incredible. First 10 games just to kind of piggyback off that Jonathan Taylor thing for Drake May. He's the first quarterback in the history of the NFL to have 2,500 pass yards, 70 plus complete percentage, 250 rushing yards, and five or fewer interceptions. Shout out Greg Harvey. When we're talking about value and just, you know, valuable as being the word here, you can go to all those other players and then look at the cap space spent across the other offenses. I mean, it's not even close.
Starting point is 00:55:45 Drake May would be most valuable. I think Matt Staver is most deserving. Okay. And the number one story of the weekend is the Coach of Winter Bowl. Hell yeah. Cold school and Super Bowl, congrats to us. A huge win. We got about a heart out here in one minute.
Starting point is 00:55:59 quickly. 42 minute first 15 here. Shephti, Eagles Packers tonight. Literally one minute we have. What should we be thinking about it? I knew. I got you. Step out of the way, Pat. I got you. I think we're going to get Nolan Smith back tonight for the Philadelphia Eagles. I think it'll be activated by 4 o'clock. Jair Alexander did not make the trip for the Philadelphia Eagles. Not going to
Starting point is 00:56:18 play against his former team. And this is all about the tush push tonight. The Packers were the team that proposed banning it. We were Micah Parsons last year with the Cowboys talk about the fact that it was a terrible play. Now the Eagles are going to a chance to take their tush push and shove it up to Packers Tush Push tonight in Green Bay. You're the man.
Starting point is 00:56:35 Way to Tush push your way right through that. You're the best. Adam Schiffie. You look good. Breaking news on the show. We appreciate the hell out of them. And that's first 15, ladies and gentlemen. Hey, that's first 15, ladies and gentlemen.
Starting point is 00:56:44 Hey, good work, boys. Football. Happy birthday to the Marine Corps and breaking news from the first hour we'll be live from Paris Island tomorrow as we honor and thank the veterans of this United States of America as the only show that will be live from a base tomorrow, I do believe, and also the only show that's ever really been live from Paris Island. Paris Island is the eastern half of the United States of America Marines boot camp. Eastern Mississippi, you go Paris Island, west of Mississippi you go San Diego. Okay, this is where Marines are made.
Starting point is 00:57:25 We actually, they actually have a sign that says we make Marines that all of the wrong. recruits during their final on their way to the Eagle Globe and anchor ceremony walk under and hike through and then they get to the parade deck and then they're officially made into Marines after a grueling 13-week boot camp down there where it is everything you could imagine and then some with drill instructors who are the baddest humans on earth expecting perfection from zero 400 all the way to 200, I believe. We've ours. In every moment in between is perfection. We need it. And also, we need you to not be asking any questions and just go do the damn thing. First, the fight are the Marines kind of mantra. And tomorrow will be very lucky to be very lucky to be very lucky. We'll be very lucky. And at Ty Schmidt. Big one tonight, Ty. Big one tonight, yeah, kind of a must
Starting point is 00:58:30 need, almost a half to win this one tonight. I like that you on with the NFL Premium Plus Pro kind of... Tossal cap, if you will. You know, it doesn't have the tossal. Beanie. Beanie. But it's a fold-up, though. Beanie, I don't know if Beanie has the
Starting point is 00:58:46 fold-up, right? That's kind of the... Beanie has the... Yeah, that... Or well, all the around. You see, he has the... And does Beanie have the thing? The top little... No, that's a tossle. I think that's a tossle. It is, yeah. Beanie for me doesn't have the fold-up.
Starting point is 00:59:00 It's just the... Just the down. It's over. Yeah. That one, I don't think... So maybe a took. It's a too, eh? You called it a Sculli growing up.
Starting point is 00:59:07 You called it a Sculli? See, I think you would call Scully the one that doesn't have the... The fold-up? Yeah. Doesn't go over your ears? Yeah. I would have just called it a winter hat growing up.
Starting point is 00:59:18 Let me just grab one of my winter hats here. That's what you said. I think Canadians call it a Tuck. Is that what the title is, Gumpie? Yeah, it's a Tuck, eh? That's what it's all it is. Okay. We're not called it that.
Starting point is 00:59:29 A two-k? It's a goad on you to say that with that hat on. We might call it a toque. Pinnacle, brother. Okay, that is nine-year NFL vet. Darius J. Butler, grew up in South Florida, you know, so all this talk about beanie's and scullies and tossel caps are certainly right-on-brand for everything going on.
Starting point is 00:59:45 That particular hat was alarming today. Did not expect to see that. Thought we were out of the woods. No kid. Like for a long time. We got a couple more weeks. It's championship season, though. Joining us now live from an attic and a little.
Starting point is 00:59:57 Ohio is a college football national champion, Super Bowl champion, Rotter Cup winner, hater of G1, ladies a gentleman, AJ. Hawker, what do you call it? Snow hat. I've always called that. All versions, whether it folds or not, we just say snow hat. Really? Yeah, I don't know where I got it from, but yeah, someone
Starting point is 01:00:14 obviously passed it down to me here in Ohio. All the different forms, you call them all the same. What about the one with the All the way? Yeah, like the rushes. Oh, yeah. Like the old, what's the movie, grumpy old man like those dudes that wrap around your ears and you tied underneath uh you call i don't know the old
Starting point is 01:00:30 man snow hat maybe maybe that's a bright play because they have that fold up in the front yeah i had to run with that one where i thought by far coolest snow hat i guess we're calling all these things that one was the best have you seen that one i have not i don't think so i just remember that though from uh with pete them was about to beat this shit out of broo yeah yeah he was trying to be low point yeah he had he had beanie on yeah he had scully on beanie on there was no fold up there Yeah. The one that goes over the ears, I think we should all think about if we get into another situation where we're calling a game from the sideline. I think we should all have matching ones of those. That's a good idea.
Starting point is 01:01:06 There's like Eskimo hats almost. Inuit, yeah, for sure. I think that is what you would certainly get. And sounds much worse, actually. The proper name sounds much worse. That's what we called him, conman, growing up for what it's worth. Inuits? I bet you did it. No, we used the other word and use that hat.
Starting point is 01:01:25 But that is what we called them growing up. Oh, like, you're talking about like Inuit Brothers. Yeah, Bigot. That's exactly like that. What you're talking about? Never heard that term. What? What?
Starting point is 01:01:35 Really? I'm not going to say it. Oh, I think, what are you talking about, though? All right. I just never heard Inuit brothers. Commander brothers? I think you can kind of tie ipso facto. Guardian.
Starting point is 01:01:49 Joining us now, AJ, let's talk about some of the games yesterday. Now, Inuit's a great name, by the way. I pitched for a hockey team named the Inuits. And I don't know if it's really a brand name, you know, but we can make it that. Certainly you've been making the world a lot better, too. Escobos, I believe, proper term is Anewitt if you were to Google it. Sure. I believe that would say that.
Starting point is 01:02:13 Nonetheless, legends, both of them. And their hats, the best. Oh, yeah. For good reason, because they got a... It's cold up there. I have Saras. You've seen those, right? Tuskegee Airmen.
Starting point is 01:02:23 oh yes yeah yeah yeah that is that is what it is yep i have seen so you should wear those maybe yeah if we got another ohio state game situation absolutely how about the tennessee team when he came out shirtless all of us from the north we're just like this is not the one to do that brother no if it's like 40 30 maybe that we're negative right now yeah your body's taking an actual damage right now it is uh you are what we say in a bad position i looked it up because I was just always a tossful guy. Apparently that's a yin's return. Tossal cap?
Starting point is 01:02:57 Mm-hmm. See, that's what happens. Game day's going to Pittsburgh on Saturday. Obviously, Pittsburgh Steelers last night in primetime against the charges. Put the world to bed at halftime, probably with the way that whole thing went. What are your thoughts on his Pittsburgh Steelers team? We had a, I think our number three headline or something was sports books and Steelers fans knew. Sportsbooks had the Baltimore Ravens as the winners of the AFC North weeks ago,
Starting point is 01:03:20 whenever they were way out of contention and a lot of people's eyes, especially if you looked at the record and Lamar Jackson was hurt. Steelers were riding high. I mean, Steelers even get a win for Indianapolis Colts last week. I think the Colts best team
Starting point is 01:03:30 in football in all three phases, so maybe Steelers are able to go. Steelers fans never really believed that they could do anything special. They felt like it was another year. Ho-hum, how you're going to do? The Steel Curtain being all the way back last week, putting up a good performance against Herbert,
Starting point is 01:03:43 maybe indicates that they're going to be good down the road? Like, what do you think about this Pittsburgh Steelers team? Are they for real or are the Steelers fans in sportsbook? right, you think, AJ? Yeah, I don't know. I think, I don't know how Steelers fans, I mean, I know Tone sometimes will lean negative when he thinks of the Steelers and what they're going to do and he thinks like all doom and gloom, like, here we go, he's going to write him off for the end the year. I would never write him off. I still think they can put it together, but I don't, from the start of this game, even though they were in it for a long time, no matter how poorly
Starting point is 01:04:09 they were playing, something was just off. It's one of those games. I don't know. You've got to give the Chargers credit, obviously. Their defense, especially Latman McKonkey, this guy's awesome. but I don't know Chargers, I'm sorry about that but Aaron, you know, a couple balls are high A ball, you know, ricochet's awful buddy and gets picked, things like that happened and they never really
Starting point is 01:04:28 a lot of times you can settle in and you'll get a rhythm and they just never found that rhythm offensively. Chargers go football team too that is getting lost in the sauce that's why it was a Sunday day football matchup but after, especially after
Starting point is 01:04:39 what the steel curtain did to us for the, because Joe Altz, he's out, he's hurt and he's out for the season it looks like, I think, I believe And they're a completely different team when Joe Aught isn't in that lineup. And I know we give a bunch of shit to the PFF ratings pregame, but I think we have four offensive linemen from the charges that were like 34, 35 of 36 in that starting lineup. So I expected especially off of the Steelers.
Starting point is 01:05:06 It was insane. It was like center. Why do they want to put that? Why do they want to put that on TV? We got to find the grab it because it was it was the worst I've seen, especially on the hills of the conversation we had with the ratings. But, yeah, I was surprised for the stillers to not show up. The charges ran the ball well.
Starting point is 01:05:22 And obviously, Herbert made some timely throwing catches, including Keenan Allen, becoming the all-time leader. Congratulations, we love to Keenan. We're big fans of Keenan. Huge. First time, goes to Chicago, second time he comes back there. I just don't understand why NBC would want to showcase the ass of their positions. Like, why is that something you'd want to lead the show with?
Starting point is 01:05:43 Why would you want to – can you put that down here? Can you put that down in here too? Yeah. Bradley Bozeman, PFF rank 36 of 36. He'll be your center tonight. Let's go to Trey Pipkins, the third. He's your right tackle. He'll be the 35th out of 36 right tackles in the entire NFL.
Starting point is 01:06:02 And don't you worry, Mackay Beckton, Sr. here. You think that actually says 38 to 37? He's close. 36 of 37. When we talk about ass, we mean this offensive line here. Austin Deculis, he is 38 of 38 possible tackles. That is what you're tuning in to watch tonight, folks. 35, 36, 37, and 38 of their position groups.
Starting point is 01:06:30 That is what we want. Yeah, why would you even want to sell that? Wow. Like, why would you, let alone. If I'm the O-Line coach, I would, sorry, if I'm the O'Line coach, I'm saying, hey, look what I, we won this game. Look who I'm working with, even though he doesn't feel that way about a player. He loves them, but it does make you.
Starting point is 01:06:45 think, like, hey, look, I can coach anybody out here after these guys who look at their rated. Can we not find a stat for Deculous that makes me? Hey, this guy's three points dance. Looks cooler than anybody else. Put mean cuss on the bottom. Deculis. There we go. Mean cuss. PFF stat. Mean cuss.
Starting point is 01:07:02 Exactly. This guy, PFF Statt, very new, doesn't have a lot of reps. His reps, not good, could be good tonight, though. Like, anything that maybe sells the problem, I don't know why, and it feels like they're even more cemented in. Without a doubt, without a doubt, for sure.
Starting point is 01:07:17 And that's certainly a part of a negotiation. I assume Chris Collinsworth has you got to use PFF on. Oh, yeah. You know, it's probably a part of it all. But it's like, why would you want to do that? Now you pissed off all those players forever. Right. Those players in their families are pissed off forever at you.
Starting point is 01:07:30 And it's like, also, if you're just casual watcher, it's like, oh, great, Sunday night football is all the worst players in the league. That's cool. Why does anybody want that out there? My brain, too small, too stupid. I don't think I fully understand it. Well, and most people understand that you can just throw away. that and you just completely ignore it
Starting point is 01:07:47 but like for a lot of casual fan. I mean that Sunday night football is the biggest game in town. We got so many people watching that. And it creates unrealistic expectations. So you got fans watching it like Steelers fans who maybe aren't you know someone who covers it day to day like we do they look at that and it's like oh well if we don't
Starting point is 01:08:04 beat the hell out of these guys we fucking suck. Are you kidding me? And then that happens and it's like we got how much are we paying? Yeah exactly. We got 34, 35, 36 and 38 out of 38 in this offensive line. T.J. Waik can't get home, we're going to lose this game? Mm-hmm. Okay, I don't think so.
Starting point is 01:08:19 Yeah, I think everybody's probably on the side, but PFF. Well, I guess probably PFS's probably sick of it, too. Like, there's probably people within PFF, they're like, we shouldn't be putting out the 38 of 38, right? Like, I'm sure there's people in there somewhere. Is this good free pub for them? Is this free pub that they don't care about, even though it's somewhat negative publicity people talking about? Yeah, I mean, it's all in how you want to operate and live your life.
Starting point is 01:08:41 Yeah, it's still going to be on there next Sunday. Yeah, it's going to say. Yeah, negotiate that in there. Yeah. This guy sucks. You see it. This guy's terrible. This guy really good.
Starting point is 01:08:51 He should be asking for a trade actually next year. This guy asks. That's crazy. Sorry, Bradley. Hey, Mr. Bozeman, sorry. We went back. Hey, all we know, hashtag stat that, one and O Sunday night against Pittsburgh.
Starting point is 01:09:03 That's right. That's tough, though. Bozeman's got a lot of text from a lot of people that he hasn't talked to in a long time. But I didn't know you're having such a hard time. You suck at your job, man. Hey, the NFL, tough game, dude. game these guys are they rank 36 centers sorry do they rank 36 centers or is that just
Starting point is 01:09:20 like interior linemen what is that i think it's centers yeah yeah position injuries and stuff yeah dude every snap that's right every assignment every they know they know every assignment you weren't supposed to pass that guy off and get the second guy that guy that guy actually got the sack you were supposed to get that guy no it was never supposed to get that guy no you were bff size get it see it you touched them you let him go well yeah because i was them off. The guard's supposed to have it. No. Nope. 51 was the mic. No, we actually
Starting point is 01:09:51 had 55 as the mic here because we're offsetting because they got a guy. Nope. Clearly. Do you want us to show you the diagram? Here's Will. Here's Sam. Here's the mic. That's all right. That's actually a Joker. That's a star. That's not even. Nope. PFS size. This is the mic. We saw you before the snap
Starting point is 01:10:07 two points. The wrong guy. Negative. All of it. We saw the quarterback trying to get. The quarterback came up here and said, hey, no, it's this guy. And then You shoot them off. You were wrong twice, actually, before I think two negatives. Don't worry, we ding the quarterback as well for not being able to, you know, properly assess who it was. He got dinged as well.
Starting point is 01:10:26 Yeah, he should have been able to convince you that you were wrong. So he got a negative for the player as well, the FFF size. Listen, we don't want to turn this entire show into this because we could. We could go. I could go 45 minutes right now. Yep, easy. Just acting like I'm a stats hero, okay? there's a lot of you out there, okay?
Starting point is 01:10:47 Not as much as it was before. Four years ago feels like the stats people were really were the kings of sports. It really did feel like it. Then reality settled in a little bit. Like, hey, you know, numbers are numbers, but the people that are creating the numbers, okay, existing in real time, humans.
Starting point is 01:11:02 And unless something's 100 to zero, even then, maybe, it's not a guarantee that you guys are right. If stats were right, then sports betting wouldn't be a thing because it would be easy just to kind of read what you guys say, and then that's a matter of fact, but like humans don't wake up
Starting point is 01:11:15 like video games, you know, humans wake up, maybe they're supposed to be a 94, and they wake up at an 82, you know, because it's week 10. Or sometimes people wake up and it's, hey, I'm 99 today. I don't got the chain. I don't have any of that. But you all just kind of view it as a video game, these stats people. So we just want to let you know, we appreciate you stats people. We appreciate the humility over the last couple of years because massive piece of football. And on that note, every time they put up the PFF ranking, you all look like assholes. valid it's not just pff that looks like it has no it's all the stats world looks like because us in the sports world that we my entire career was built off stats obviously
Starting point is 01:11:54 much more basic stats and the stats you guys find and I respect stats but us in the sports world just go like these idiots still at the very beginning just don't get it they just don't get it they just don't get it and they're just sticking to their ways which is awesome yeah we're going to put 38 out 38 up there somebody's typing that in And approving it, man. We want to run this in the open? Biggest game of the night. Pittsburgh Steelers is a part of this one.
Starting point is 01:12:18 Probably going to be pretty big. Chargers big. Sunday football, we've been waiting all day. Up into the right? You want to run this? 38 out of 38. Kind of makes this guy look like ass. Is that what he is?
Starting point is 01:12:29 Yeah. Send it out there. And they get a win. This Steelers team might stink. Oh, no. Oh, no. I think... A lot of reaction tweets coming from
Starting point is 01:12:40 Pittsburgh Steelers. I think they're just an average football team. They can look shitty one night. They can look great one week. And at the end, we're just going to be the same. We have been for the last few years. All right, we hit the top five headlines in the first hour. We missed a couple of things. And we always say, hey, Deba, where are two things maybe we missed in our first 15? Debo, what were those two things that we missed in our first 15? We'll start with the New York Jets. The first thing we missed with the first 15. Obviously, Nick Mango, they did a great job, you know, representing him. Jeremy Ruckert, former Ohio State tight-in,
Starting point is 01:13:13 actually walked in with Nick Mango's jersey. I thought it was opposite him. Awesome. And then the Jets, they showed up. They got a gritty when we talked about teams with the back against the wall. Team obviously selling at the trade deadline. How are they going to show up?
Starting point is 01:13:27 How are they going to compete? And they did it. Even with this ugly stat line from the offense and the quarterback position, the special teams, the third phase showed up. We got Wangu right here with a 95-yard kick return. Unbelievable. You know what I'm going. Up the sideline. Unbelievable playing. When your team struggling, especially in offense,
Starting point is 01:13:50 these special teams plays. They play a huge role in getting your team win. And then the very next return. We got a long punt return from Isaiah Williams. Now, you never see this. I believe we saw it earlier in the season with the Patriots. They had two back-to-back returns. But this is unbelievable against the Cleveland Browns right here. You cannot have this. Isaiah Williams in the flag, which is obviously not. on the New York Jets. Unbelievable job by the New York Jets. You say, we say, I say, oh, Wilson.
Starting point is 01:14:17 Williams. Williams? That's what I said. I said Wilson. I clearly said Wilson. But it is Mr. Williams. Anytime your special teams can roll like that, come on. And Breece Hall, Breeze Hall had a big game too.
Starting point is 01:14:30 He had a late, this was a touchdown here. Once again, Phil's only completed six passes. Seed. Right between. the two and the zero, great blocking on the edge, and he gives up on the field. Obviously, Bruce Hall was a big name around the trade deadline as well. He had a big game. Another guy who was a big name around the deadline, Will McDonnell.
Starting point is 01:14:52 He had four sacks. Once again, when that office... He had a form, dude. He had four sacks. He had an unbelievable performance. And I thought Aaron Glenn, we talked about it earlier with the Dolphins and Mike McDaniel. Aaron Glenn, you know, when you're selling and you're trading and you're getting all these picks and you're obviously rebuilding for the future,
Starting point is 01:15:09 how are the guys in that locker room going to show up and compete? It obviously is going to represent how the coach hasn't prepared. He had a great post-game speech. I thought the post-game vibes were in. And something he said at the end of this speech was not just about buying, but it's about staying. So obviously, you buy it and it feels great when you get a win right here. We know how it was with the ugly start with the Detroit lines,
Starting point is 01:15:29 and now they're an absolute wagon. Maybe this is the beginning for the New York Jets who's been looking for a turnaround for a long, long time. What happened in Detroit first year, MCDC and Aaron Glenn, obviously a massive piece of what happened up there in Detroit, but what happened in your first year with their DC? Started out 0 and 10, 313 and 1 was the final record there. Okay, so obviously it might take a little bit to flip an entire culture.
Starting point is 01:15:49 Feels like the Jets for this time are ahead of schedule maybe in a restart because they were able to get rid of some of the big pieces of the past, AJ. Is that what you're thinking as well? Yeah, it's definitely possible. But the thing about the lions compared to the Jets, the lions had Jared golf, right, the whole time. Are the Jets moving forward with, is this their quarterback? Do they have their franchise quarterback? Now, I will say, every insider and football pundit person from ESPN that we talk to, okay,
Starting point is 01:16:15 says they got a lot of picks, they got a lot of money, now they got to go make a selection, a quarterback, and blah, blah, blah. They've already done that. They selected Justin Fields. Many times. They paid Justin Fields a lot of money. They paid them $30 million, I think, in total, $20 million a year. Now, granted, is that anything in comparison to what other quarterbacks are getting?
Starting point is 01:16:33 No. but the Pittsburgh Steelers had him last year the Pittsburgh Steelers made him an offer I think a couple other teams made an offer New York Jets paid him by far the most money to be their quarterback so I'm not saying that they said hey Justin Fields is our answer forever
Starting point is 01:16:45 but they certainly have made a quarterback decision commitment already and it's like it has not worked out there was a stat something about like 12 yards or something yeah fewest pass yards in a game this season coming from Hembo real quick Jets and Week 6 loss first of the Broncos 10 Jets in Week 10 versus the Browns 42
Starting point is 01:17:02 Jetson Week 2 loss versus Bills 54 and what was the stat? If you take out the 42-yard touchdown from Breece Hall screen right there, Justin Fields had 12 passing yards. Why are we taking it out? I agree. That's the stat I saw. He asked the stat. We saw, that's the way I saw.
Starting point is 01:17:20 Yeah, and once again, I just saw it. My eyes saw it. And once I saw it, I thought to myself, well, that's impossible. And if ifs and butts were candy, these are nuts, we'd all blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You know, but obviously you can't take away a piece. pass and then say that was his total pass yards. But what the stat was alluding to is like, was this Breece Hall or was this Justin Fields here?
Starting point is 01:17:39 And then once you say, okay, well, let's eliminate that. Let's just go straight to Justin Fields. They're like barely first down. This guy's thrown. Yeah, so I did see the next year passing chart. And it was. It was pouring rain. It was pouring rain for one.
Starting point is 01:17:54 But also like with Fields and of course, you need a long-term answer at quarterback for sure. But if you have picks that are in the top 10, How valuable are five, you know, or sorry, three, five-star players, whether that's offensive line, defensive line, you know, corner, and granted they just traded two of those positions away. But still, like, let's say they do say. Smaller contracts.
Starting point is 01:18:16 Yeah, yeah, smaller contracts. And let's say with Fields, it's like, okay, you're right. We did pick our guy for two years. So let's just ride this contract out. We have a bunch more picks, you know, the year after. But, yeah, maybe. There's no way they can play with Justin Fields again next week. I mean, next year.
Starting point is 01:18:31 No chance. There's no way. There's no way. And Justin, we love Justin. I don't really know him, actually. But I am a fan of Justin Fields from afar. I think he's probably a great human. I think he's a great leader.
Starting point is 01:18:41 I love his commitment to his body. I appreciate everything he did at Ohio State. I think he's a freak athlete. I think when he gets the ball in his hands, he's the fastest guy on the field. It is amazing to watch. He's tough. He's actually tough, too.
Starting point is 01:18:52 He took a monster shot, if you remember in college as well and kept coming. Yeah, but in the NFL as well. When he was back with the Bears, the only highlights that were coming from their very terrible seasons where Justin Fields is either running. over people or around people. I mean, he is a town.
Starting point is 01:19:04 Dano couldn't be MVP. Yeah, I think Dano had to make some decisions because of some potential narratives that were building about the way he felt about people, you know, and that is certainly something that I think Dano was doing in that particular moment there, you know, because he gave some takes and everything. He was like, this guy seemingly,
Starting point is 01:19:18 he's like, MVP, actually. Ohio State quarterback? Yeah, exactly. Yeah. That's exactly what it was at the time. He got hot in the kitchen for Dano. I mean, we, and he did it on our show. So it's one of those things, whenever
Starting point is 01:19:31 What people say on these microphones don't necessarily reflect the opinions of their peers, their boss, or currently at the moment, the company is licensing this show, ESPN. With that being said, what people say in the microphones on this particular show
Starting point is 01:19:46 certainly goes, hey. Controversal guess. Jeopardy, shout-up. Dan O. certainly threw himself into a fire or two on our particular show. So I got to see his mentions. I got to ride in his mentions for a little bit. they are not spectacular, but he did have hope for Justin Fields.
Starting point is 01:20:03 I think we all did because of how athletic he is. Like how athletic. He's so athletic. He's so athletic. He's so athletic. I think accuracy is a thing. I don't know if it's necessarily easy. And being a quarterback is not necessarily an easy job. And for a while, it was like, oh, the Bears organization just didn't do him any favors at all. And then last year it wasn't terrible. It wasn't great either. And then this year, but no, I think the Jets are probably going to have, you know, a Mendoza or a Moore or a Simpson at quarterback. Mendoza will be joining us today in about 20 minutes or so.
Starting point is 01:20:30 Joining us right now, ladies and gentlemen, is the voice of college football, the face of Thursday night football on prime alongside Al Michaels. Ladies and gentlemen, the man who almost predicted a football game exactly this past weekend at Oregon and Iowa. Kirk Gervis.
Starting point is 01:20:46 Yay, Herbie. How you doing, Herbie? We're talking about the Jets there a little bit with Justin Fields. Obviously, they move on from Quinnon and Sauce, and everybody's starting to think they're quitting and mailing it in. They get a huge win with special teams and defense and obviously Breece Hall able to do his thing.
Starting point is 01:21:02 What are your thoughts on the Jets moves and Justin Fields as a quarterback and also Dayball fired as the New York Giants head coach earlier today. Just kind of New York state of mind from Kirk Herb Street, if you will. Well, I think first of all, any time you need to pick me up, you go into that AFC North, you get the Bengals Browns back to back. You got a really good shot of kind of getting your swagger back. So you can thank me later for that. I mean, how the Bengals lost that game to the Jets two weeks ago is, I think everybody's still scratching their head. But to their credit, they use that special teams.
Starting point is 01:21:36 Sometimes you just got to find ways to win games, and that's what they were able to do. I heard you guys kind of having some fun with the fact that Brise Hall took that screen and took it to the house. It was not a great day for the offense, but totality is a team that I think is dying to get some wins, and especially after the trade deadline, so many rumors about Brise Hall. You mentioned McDonald, and now they have what they have, and it's go time. And I just love to see a team still fighting, right? I mean, they're still scratching.
Starting point is 01:22:07 They're still trying to find ways to win games. Breece Hall gives them, I think, a playmaker, a dynamic playmaker. But the reality is with Justin Fields and his offense, I mean, how about the owner comes out three or four weeks ago and just says, if we can just complete a pass, if we can just complete a pass, that would really help the cause. And for him to have to block that out in the middle of the year and still go out and wear that uniform and that jersey and still go out and compete, um, he's handled that with great class. I'll tell you what he said. I'm not going to I'm not going to complete a pass actually. No. How about that? How about him? I'm joking. I'm
Starting point is 01:22:42 joking. I'm joking. I'm joking. But the owner saying it is crazy. The owner saying it is absolutely crazy and the mental toughness, which I think we all like about Justin Fields. We like his leadership. We like his mental toughness. I love how comility is to his body, how comility is to his sport. I just think on the field it really hasn't worked out. What's your stat? To the point of all this, teams coming into this since 1950
Starting point is 01:23:03 when holding opponents to 175 yards or less and not turning the ball over where 225 and zero is now 225 and one. Shout out to the bronze. Shout out to the bronze. And then let's talk about Dayball over there in New York. Obviously, they have the
Starting point is 01:23:19 quarterback carousel this offseason where they're trying to find out who is going to be the guy that's going to be taking snaps for them after they move on from Danny Dimes. Danny Dimes is now an MVP. It looks like Wilson right now. He does. Danny Dimes is obviously in the MVP conversation alongside Jonathan Taylor. We're going to win the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 01:23:39 Sequin Barclay won a Super Bowl with Philadelphia Eagles. Everybody leaves that place and has great success. Now Dayball is the next one kind of getting booted. What is this an indicator of in your eyes? And what are your thoughts on the state of the state of the state? giants right now. Well, I mean, you went through that. And I think a lot of people thought when they let go to Saquan, and they didn't come up with answers that following year, that Daewa would maybe be let go. They stuck with him. And, you know, he made it pretty clear. We actually had
Starting point is 01:24:06 Patriots Giants preseason. And Daveau made it very clear to me that Jackson Dart is going to be special. You know, he said, I got Russ right now, but man, I really love this rookie and what he can do. and obviously eventually we saw him get that opportunity. This is another franchise that just figures out ways to lose games. They just don't know how yet how to win football games and play complimentary football. They play well enough. You go back and look at, I don't know, four or five of their losses. They played well enough to win these games and they just can't close them out.
Starting point is 01:24:41 And I think that whoever inherits this job is going to inherit a team that has a lot of potential. I mean, when you put Scataboo and Malik Neighbors and Jackson Dart all together, all healthy, there's a lot, I think, to work with, not to mention what they have on a defensive front. So whoever's going to get this job down the road, it's not like you're starting from square one, and how do we get this thing going in the right direction. I think the vision of what they had there is there. I think you can see it. I just think that this team at times seems to almost be jinx.
Starting point is 01:25:14 They just cannot close out games. and games that they've played well enough to win that they're sitting there scratching their head thinking, how the hell do we get ourselves in this predicament? So I think it's, I love Dave. Dave's a great guy. He'll land on his feet somewhere,
Starting point is 01:25:29 but whoever gets this job to me is going to have a hell of a nucleus to work with moving forward. Yeah, we all love Scataboo, obviously. Jackson Darden needs to take care of himself going forward. We hope he's able to do that. And obviously, the New York market is a beautiful one if you're able to win.
Starting point is 01:25:43 Will anybody ever again is kind of the question? You haven't really got your thoughts on Dayball Exit in town. New York Giants fan, Bruce Brown. There had to be accountability. Brian Davel's 2040 and one record is the worst of any coach in Giants' history. Shout out to Hembo. You know, this was the third. Macadoo?
Starting point is 01:26:03 Yeah. That's worse than Macadoo? Worse than Shermer? Macadoo. That's a good. Worses in everybody. Macadoo was good before he got that haircut. When he had the bad haircut, he was a good coach.
Starting point is 01:26:12 No, he's a Western Pennsylvania guy, too. So I didn't love everything he was doing with his hair. and all that stuff. And the way you guys in New York were talking about him, I didn't necessarily love because how similar our names were and how we grew up in the same waters and everything like that. But I thought he would have definitely been the worst. But no, that's not the case.
Starting point is 01:26:28 I guess Hembo says, geez, Louise. Part of it is, you know, 2020, he won coach of the year. We won a playoff game, and that kind of extended his leash to get to the 61 games to be able to lose 40 of them. I mean, it sucks. I agree. I think Brian Dayball is probably a good football coach. You know, coached under Nick Saban and Bill Belichick, and, you know, seems like he's a pretty good football mind, but losing is the disease that infected the Giants organization and, you know, kind of reared its head worse this year than ever before where you're blowing three 10-point leads on the road.
Starting point is 01:27:02 But, you know, it's also not all on Brian Dable, like Joe Shane built the secondary that is turned into the worst in the NFL this year, missed on a ton of draft picks, both on defense. in and in the trenches with the O line. So hopefully there's more accountability. Shane Bowen probably doesn't deserve to be defensive coordinator. And I don't know if Joe Shane deserves to be a GM looking for a head coach. Jeez, Giants fans, certainly going through it. Second half losses, especially whenever you have the lead, just take everything out of you. Okay, let's pivot away from the bad news in New York.
Starting point is 01:27:38 And let's go to some good news maybe in Cincinnati, your hometown. Joe Burroughs, back of practice. Wow. Great news. That's breaking news as up today. Your thoughts on that as a Bengals fan. I know you just buried them. We're saying, hey, you want to get on track?
Starting point is 01:27:51 You want to get a little good aura? Go to Ohio. Take on the Bengals and the Browns. Well, now, Joey B, back on the practice field. What does this mean for you, Herb Street? I really wondered all along with this injury, if the Bengals stayed within striking distance, which is debatable, what does that mean?
Starting point is 01:28:09 Would he come back? Would he sit out the rest of the year to try to get 100% healthy? or, I mean, you guys know about turf, though, and he had the most severe case of that with the surgery. You just wonder, is he, it's great to see him back in a practice field. Is he coming back and easing his way back in? Is this, you know, another three or four weeks away? I have no idea.
Starting point is 01:28:29 I have no idea what the case is, but I just love to see this guy's as competitive as anybody you're ever going to meet, and I'm sure he's dying to get back on the field with his guys. But I wondered, I mean, that division has been upside down all year with the injuries. clearly still appears to be the Ravens Division to win. Sorry about that tone. I'll give him. I'd love to see him back, but I don't know if I'd be
Starting point is 01:28:53 in a hurry if I were him with the offensive line play. At what cost? Now, granted, they spent money on everything, and he's a massive piece of that offensively. Are they constructed to win ever? And do we just have them not risk it next year, too, when they start to seize it? You know, just... I think that's fair.
Starting point is 01:29:09 Maybe forever if we don't get them protected. Until you... Until you invest. invest in an offensive line. They've tried. And that's been the case since he, they have tried. But the guys that they've tried with, they've hit a couple.
Starting point is 01:29:26 It's tough. Bengals fan right here, just going through it in real time. They've tried to bring in new offensive line and they've tried, Herbie. They've tried. Yeah, they certainly have and guess what? Has it worked? Joe Burrow, he's back to practice. Well, I ask AJ. I mean, Teddy Caris was a hit
Starting point is 01:29:41 at center. I love Terrier. Free agent. Eddie Kieris is a hit, but that's one hit and a lot of misses up front. Has Flakobing been beat up? It's not to Whitworth, right? It's impossible. And then they let him go. I think that went out bad if you listen to the end of that,
Starting point is 01:29:59 even though, hey, he was ruler of the jungle. That's right. And they did win the night he was the ruler of jungle. Good to see Big Whit back in Cincinnati. Hopefully they're in good. Lick and Brett. Witt would start if he came back. He would be a starter.
Starting point is 01:30:11 On a lot of teams. Maybe tight end. a lot of teams, but definitely in Cincinnati. Well, he's a tight end now. Maybe he's like 245, 250. I think maybe quarterback. I don't know if he has here with Joe Burroughs time. We have some scoge, though, here from Jason Glazer.
Starting point is 01:30:24 Yeah, scoge. Last week, Joe Burrow told me he's returning way sooner than what's expected and gave me the timeline of by Thanksgiving. Now we'll start practicing on a limited basis, absolutely unreal attack of rehab, which he did with me, and response. At first, medical people didn't believe he'd be back before playoffs. huge jump for him. He's your fucking G.
Starting point is 01:30:47 Shout to Jake. Glazer getting a little scoopage there. Herbie, obviously, that's real-time baseball we're doing. Hey, we had a bandwidth that I was going to text. We had the term bandwidth from, Ty could have used that with Pete Thammell this morning when he was talking. As soon as he said, well, my bandwidth, I was like, God, I got to hit Pat.
Starting point is 01:31:07 Hey, if you would have seen the conversations I was having this morning, brother. I mean, tomorrow's show is about to be pretty. legendary. Oh, you guys are going to Paris Island tomorrow, right? Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Oh, my God. Hey, it's about to be something. Not as, hey, listen, I don't know if we fully recognize how massive tomorrow is until we're there. Because I've had a chance to be there. When you're there, it's just like, you know you're walking on like hallowed grass. Like you understand what's going on. And then it being veterans, and the people that are going to become, you know, a lot of appearances on the show tomorrow, pretty big names. And obviously, you had just planned out a long time in advance. Yeah. Well, you know,
Starting point is 01:31:41 wasn't calling everybody this morning to try to, you know, hey, I think we got an incredible opportunity here. We'd love if you'd be able to help. And tomorrow will be absolutely crazy as we say, thanks to the veterans live from Paris Island. All right, Herbie, let's talk about what we need. You should ride in on the bus, the way, you know what I mean? Can you do that? Yeah. Get yelled at right there when you step on the steps. To the yellow footprints there right at the beginning. We'll do a special on this entire. We will definitely inform people what it's like 38. I don't know if I
Starting point is 01:32:14 I ain't signing up to play Marine. I don't think you should. That's what I'm saying. We didn't sign that line. And that's why we're going to say thank you. We're going to say thank you to those who did. But on that note, I have done the, I've done it.
Starting point is 01:32:29 I've actually done it this past summer. Yeah, I don't know if I would have been to one, man. 18. Yeah, right. You got some bad. Gumpy would have done it. what's the Canadian equivalent? Yeah, I don't know
Starting point is 01:32:45 I thought it was a Canadian Marine I thought it's Canadian Navy SEAR I don't know if they have Canadian Marines I don't think they have Marines I mean we need to make sure we have some respect here for what the Marines are Happy birthday to them by the way Uraw
Starting point is 01:32:56 All right let's talk a little bit about what you did this past weekend You know on our show last Thursday You did something You just you called a sneaky Win out publicly Therefore if you make a spotlight moment of something sneaky. Guess what isn't sneaking anymore? The sneaky thing. So you awoke a potential giant in a massive way whenever you said Iowa going to beat Oregon this
Starting point is 01:33:22 weekend. Oregon heard it immediately upon you saying it. They ran it not only then to the team the entire weekend. They were on. Hey, everybody thinks we're not going to show up. Everybody thinks we're not going to show up. Then we get the game day down, Texas Tech, Lubbock. What a crowd. What a place. What a time. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. We get to. I'm a huge fan. Yeah, me too. I think I'm happy that they're going to be good for the long haul because I think every time we go there in the future.
Starting point is 01:33:45 We need to go there every year. Bingo. I think it's going to be awesome every single year down there. They took care of it. That food, Evie Mae's best food we've got. Unbelievable. Everything about it was awesome. The set, the crowd, the food, the vibe, everything was great.
Starting point is 01:33:58 If you're looking for the nicest human beings, we found them in West Texas. Yes. As an entire group, they were amazing. The tortilla tosses to her. I mean, it's all awesome. That guy catch it. I think he's strength coach. I think he's one of the strength coaches.
Starting point is 01:34:14 I don't know what sport, but I think he's a strength coach, I think, from what I'm learning. But we finally get to the picks. Patrick Mahomes is there, obviously, massive fan. Thank you to him for coming through. And also giving back to the sport as much as he does down there at Texas Tech. A long as great.
Starting point is 01:34:26 Cody Campbell and the double eagle boys up there. Everything they're doing there is spectacular. First class. But we got to the Iowa Oregon game. And I didn't know what you were going to do. I honestly, I looked over, and I had no idea. what you were going to do.
Starting point is 01:34:40 Are you going to just say, you know what? I ruined this. I'm sorry, Iowa. It got too loud. I'm going with Oregon. You doubled down. You said, Double down.
Starting point is 01:34:49 You said, I'm doubling down. I think Iowa wins this game. This is a game that Oregon is going to go. And I gave you the specific, it's a November, dark, rainy. You don't know what's going on. The team that's there has no idea what hit them. Kinnick gets over top of them. 16, 15, one of those ugly Iowa scores.
Starting point is 01:35:08 You have no idea. how we got to 1615, but that's where we're going to be. That's the final score. That's how I was going to win. So you were calling a game while this was happening and I was texting you. I'm like, yo, it's 2-0 right now on this game. That was perfect. 2-0. We're off
Starting point is 01:35:23 to a great start. You're like, you have no idea how we're going to get to this score. Like 2-0 being the start of that thing is like hilarious. It's like, hey, Herbie, 2-0 right now. And then you're calling another game. All of a sudden it gets to the point. It's like, hey, Herbie, everything, everything you have said is coming to fruition
Starting point is 01:35:39 right now. Legitimately. How about this quarterback draw? And I'm like, oh my God, they're going to go for two if they score this. And they're going to miss it. It's going to be 16.15. I was like, touchdown. Now we've got to miss the two-pointer. Miss the two-pointer is all we need. Yeah, well,
Starting point is 01:35:55 I want to let you know. You've been around college ball for a long time. But I don't think you're supposed to just know exactly how a game is supposed to end. And honestly, you even knew it when you were saying it. that you might be saying everything how this game is going to end,
Starting point is 01:36:11 but it's going to go the other way because of how long. What a ball by Dante Moore. What a ball by Dante Moore right there. But it went the other way strictly because of what you did on Thursday. Strictly. You're giving me?
Starting point is 01:36:22 Yes. Are you giving this to me? No, I'm not giving it to you. I'm saying it's 100% your fault. You need to be taking this. I'm saying you're giving me the blames. Yes. I gave the blueprint.
Starting point is 01:36:33 I gave the whole thing. Yep. Your fault. It's just the last minute, last second. go, I can't account for that. Ty, how do the Iowans feel about what Herb Street did? First on Thursday
Starting point is 01:36:45 saying, hey, Dan Landing. Dude, if it would have been 40 to 6, I would have eaten it. I would have said that's 100% on me. Okay. But it's 16 to freaking 50. It's exactly what I said. Yeah, go ahead.
Starting point is 01:37:01 Let's hear from Iowa, please. Let's hear from Iowa, please. I would imagine that a lot of people in the state are still pretty pissed at Herbie. Because after Thursday, hey, hey, just hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. After Thursday, because it was kind of, it was pretty quiet. I think a lot of Iowa fans going in were very, very confident coming off the biweek and how they looked against Minnesota.
Starting point is 01:37:24 And it's like, okay, we're kind of starting to get things going here. I think we might actually beat Oregon. Then you say it, and it kind of magnifies the thing, but that's whatever. But I told Pat, I would have hated you for the rest of my life if you would have picked Oregon on Saturday. It would have been the most chicken shit thing of all time. And when you... Yeah, I didn't hesitate.
Starting point is 01:37:43 Exactly. I was not giving up. So you picked the Hawks and you know what? Yeah, unfortunately, it just didn't go their way. I mean, Caden Weechin fumbles in the red zone. You know, like Iowa realistically probably should have won that game by a touchdown. Just, you know, the safety. I mean, they couldn't punt early in the game, which is obviously very atypical for Iowa.
Starting point is 01:38:06 So it was just, you know, I mean, hey, hats off to you, Herbie. I think Iowa fans knew, too, that your prediction for the game was pretty spot on. And it was going to have to be like that if they were going to win. Herbie Knows Ball. So a lot of people saying Herbie Knows Ball. Yes. Maybe a little too little. I just, I think we all expected it to be, I was being a smart ass when I said 1615.
Starting point is 01:38:27 Because Iowa games, they always get into that, when they pull off these upsets, it's just, how did we get to this number? And so I just threw out a 1615. And damn it, if we didn't, if we weren't sitting on 1615 there at the end. And I, I would have officially retired if Oregon would not have come back. And I would have been like, I'm done. 1615. No. I would knock off Oregon.
Starting point is 01:38:48 You should at least take it a victory lap on Saturday. You know, you should have done. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Show the highlight, please. What I say? What I say?
Starting point is 01:38:56 What I say? What I say? What happened in the game? What happened in the game? Thank you. My name's Kirk Gurb Street. It's been a blast. Come on.
Starting point is 01:39:03 The third years. Pittsburgh would have went crazy for you. for your contributions. Can I wait? By the way, how about game day going to Pittsburgh? Come on.
Starting point is 01:39:12 Come on, not bad. We didn't make it to Morgan Town, but we're going to make it to Pittsburgh. I saw some WVU people coming after me,
Starting point is 01:39:18 obviously, for this tweet. Oh, you're good at this, but you won't go to the backyard, bro. We lost to Ohio the week before.
Starting point is 01:39:24 Right. Yeah. We lost the Ohio. You can't lose in Athens. It's a good football team. That's good football team. You can't lose
Starting point is 01:39:30 in Athens, Ohio, and host game day the next week. Now, on that note, Pittsburgh has not had a Saturday college game day, like a full college game day in Twitter. It was
Starting point is 01:39:41 what, when was it? 20 years, I think, is what they said. Yeah, yeah. I remember, we were all along, right by the river outside of the stadium. I think we're doing the same spot. I think it's same area. I think we have river shot, I think. Is it or no? I don't know. Isn't there a big park over there
Starting point is 01:39:57 on the other side of the river, and there a big famous park over there? Boyce Park. And that Boyce Park where you play? Boyce Park's in Plumbero, where the baller's ball and the players play it's not downtown we're in the north shore right here i think from what i saw we might be along a river i think i don't know you know there's a full astro turf field outside of the stadium now because of the draft i believe so you might be able to use that for the uh content we think the pittsburgh kid makes the kick or not you should probably stop doing it
Starting point is 01:40:23 every week they make john was some doby traps out there we needed john well kirk tried to bring out some blockers but we had high school kids holding it five feet in front of these guy deflate the ball. What a catch, second one. I'll tell you what. Pat, you teach me this, but any time I see a guy slip off his sneakers and go barefoot, this guy knows what he's doing. See, I don't fully understand it, actually.
Starting point is 01:40:47 And I think it's more because the plant foot will slip, maybe some of these, because it's like turf. But I don't know why you wouldn't think that a sock would slip, too. I don't fully comprehend it. I don't know. Vandy was the first time it happened where I was like, okay, this is possible. If someone takes off their shoes, I shouldn't immediately think. They're the stupidest person of all time for just kicking the ball without a shoe on. This guy had like a hoka-looking shoe on, a little big base on the bottom of it.
Starting point is 01:41:11 The story, hey, we're learning that in real time, though, Herbie. I don't think people fully understand that. We're learning in real time that this guy missed a kick his junior year of high school. How about that? Yeah. Like in real time, I'm like, oh, my God, what a nightmare. In that state? Yes.
Starting point is 01:41:25 That's like. What a nightmare for that kid. Death threats. He got death threats. He needed to make that first one, bro. That first one. Him missing that for him. Golly, got to do another one.
Starting point is 01:41:35 Got to. This guy's going to think about this for the rest of his life. Yeah. He's going to get dunked on even more. Because now they know about the high school. So only the people at his high school knew. Now everybody knows about that. And also, this guy, this guy sucks.
Starting point is 01:41:49 You can't do it. Right. Yeah. How about the guy, motivation? Junior year misses the kick in the state championship. Senior year, you're done. You can kick off. What do you say, kick off an onside kick or something like that?
Starting point is 01:42:03 Yeah. He was a weapon there. He got the ball back a couple of times for my stats and understanding. But the second one, if you hear me, I go, yo, kick through the ball. It was clear what he did. It was probably the exact same thing that happened in his extra point, his junior year. Saw his quads tighten up. Literally, as I'm watching him, I see his body tighten up.
Starting point is 01:42:19 I'm like, oh, no, not good. And he kind of punches through. Thing goes to the left. So I literally was trying my best to be like, yo, swing through the ball, bro. A lot of people were saying it was windy conditions out there. It wasn't. Little right to left. A little right to left there.
Starting point is 01:42:32 But the tortillas that were throwing, I think everybody thought like the wind was taking those tortillas. No, those people were. They were trying to hit that ball. They were trying to hit that ball with those tortillas. I mean, that was the bigger obstacle was the tortillas. Imagine if a tortilla hits that ball. That's going in. John misses again.
Starting point is 01:42:49 Oh, no. What a moment. Oh, look at that. Yeah, I'm happy for John. John, way to go, buddy. Brought of you, John. I think the Pittsburgh kid makes it. Okay, let's get back to some college ball talk.
Starting point is 01:43:00 Shall we go ahead, Dee, Bud? Yeah, Herbie. Obviously, we know how Dowden. you are to both games, college football and pro football. So you're the perfect person to ask, who's QB1 right now in the NFL draft going to next year? I know it was a lot of names we expected coming into this season to be at the top of this board right here.
Starting point is 01:43:17 But obviously it's Mendoza and Ty Simpson, probably Dante Moore, two of the draft eligible quarterbacks. Who's QB1 right now, in your opinion? Hmm. I don't know if he's draft eligible. I think Julian San and I think CJ Carr at Notre Dame
Starting point is 01:43:39 Okay Neither of those guys can get drafted This is just like when you're like Hey the guys that have a lot of money Need to shut up Dude the guys We had up on the board Have all
Starting point is 01:43:52 Struggled You know like they They just Think of all the names At the beginning of the year And none of those guys Are still being talked about You know, I really think, the Lenore Sellers, remember him, beginning of the year?
Starting point is 01:44:11 Oh, yeah. Everybody thought he was going to be the first pick overall. Yeah. The Mendoza kid's been amazing. I mean, what he's doing in Indiana is incredible. How about the drive? Everybody's talking about that catch. How about the drive itself?
Starting point is 01:44:23 He got sacked on the first play of that drive. Oh, yeah. And brought them back, you know, to be able to eventually get in position to win that game. That throw right there down the scene. team incredible. They kind of reset them and got them believing. We're so focused on the catch and we should be. That was the best catch maybe we've ever seen. I mean, we look at a footwork. But look at these three throws that he made. Get them down inside there. And he does it every single week. So, I don't know. Did anybody expect Mendoza to be this guy coming
Starting point is 01:44:55 over from Cal? No, so. In the Indiana? No, so Kid Canada's little brother, obviously, last year, Rourke with Indiana was the storyline because it's like will Signetti be able to find another Rourke? I doubt it. And then bring in the kid from Cal and it's like, wait a minute. Kid from Cal had a lot of success last year. Kid from Cal has actually had some big games.
Starting point is 01:45:14 So I don't think anybody was expecting magic, but I think there wasn't as big of a falloff for Indiana from Indiana fans' thoughts after Rourke leaves, but nobody could have expected him to be the best player in college football or whatever the case is. And then Omar Cooper Jr., this is in Indiana he's from around here. This kid's from
Starting point is 01:45:30 around here. So we're obviously incredibly happy for him. Insane catch. And also the ref in real time watching that. Feltie. That ref. Look at that ref's form. That's incredible. Legit. Look at that. And we're looking at it in super slow. Look at him. He's got to get out of the way.
Starting point is 01:45:47 And then he's looking at his head. I mean, he is staring down at that and he makes the right call. We always rip on the officials. Give this guy some credit. Holy hell. He's right in position to be able to make that call. And we're seeing it, now we're seeing it a little faster. Here you go.
Starting point is 01:46:02 Look at that. Just outstanding. But I guess to answer your question, DeVat, I would say, Ty Simpson, he's not sexy. He's not going to go to the combine. He's not going to go like, look at this guy. But he seems to be a guy that has an ability to read, recognize coverage, process, ball out. He can move around just enough to be able to be dangerous, to be able to keep plays alive. but we don't have that huge six four 240 pound guy that everybody's going to say wow
Starting point is 01:46:33 I can't wait to watch what this now these guys are probably they're going to go and people are going to be enamored like they were with Anthony Richardson and others you know when they see these guys that are big and strong and can spin it but as far as seeing the field processing what are you doing processing that is a good question what are we doing okay there's no reason to do what you just did right there's none none on that note now to echo your point what you're talking about i love tie simpson yeah great i like his love him did you see him dab up former teammates too yeah boys love oh my god you see how the boys reacted when they saw him yes love them they love that guy in the locker room mendoza though very similar i think they view him as a nerd
Starting point is 01:47:15 who's an absolute dog i think that is kind of it so i think they will be head and shoulders i think whatever you start thinking about, you know, off-the-field stuff in the locker room and in film and everything like that, I think they are going to rise to the top. But to your point, we had no idea that those guys were going to be guys. Another guy that I don't think a lot of people may be new if he was going to be a guy, especially after his first season. Now he's leading the MVP odds. Go ahead, AJ.
Starting point is 01:47:38 Yeah, Kirk, obviously, Pat's talking about Drake May and what the New England Patriots are able to do. They beat the bucks yesterday. They're eight and two. I guess, are you surprised at how quickly Drake May has evolved to do an elite quarterback. I mean, MVP, you see him right here. And are you surprised at all how fast, I guess, Braves has been able to instill that culture and turn them into a very, you know, viable team to make it run to the Super Bowl?
Starting point is 01:48:00 Well, obviously, AJ, you know, Braves, and we all love him and think so highly of him as, you know, what was initially as an assistant, a coordinator, and he goes to the Titans and has him on the brink of getting into a Super Bowl. And then last year he's in Cleveland, just like, you know, just kind of buying his time. hanging out, and eventually you knew we'd get back in the mix. I don't think, Connor, even you, as much as you're a diehard, blinded New England Patriots fan, I don't think anybody expected the culture to change this quickly. Nobody could have expected this.
Starting point is 01:48:34 It's easy to say, yeah, oh, yeah, I saw it all along. I mean, Drake May, if you saw him in college, he's another college quarterback that's outstanding, but we see a lot of college quarterbacks that are outstanding that just don't see the field in the NFL and don't make these many plays this early in their career. So I think Josh McDaniels deserves a ton of credit for the system that he's been able to build the way they've been able to build this team from the ground up as far as confidence. They didn't try to do too much too fast. I had them again.
Starting point is 01:49:03 I mentioned the game with Dave, they played the Patriots. I had a chance to visit with Josh in late August when they were getting ready to go into the season. And he was incredibly confident with what Drake May was doing, the communication, the understanding, you can see the relationship that they build. This Drake May has a super, super unassuming team guy first, doesn't want any of the accolades, will deflect all the attention onto his team. So he's got the wiring that it takes.
Starting point is 01:49:32 But to see this guy execute, what is he, at 19 and 5, I think right now in the year, 19 touchdowns only 5 picks. So he's playing smart. But I think it's more of the totality of what the Patriots have become with Mike Vrable. And it's not just, wow, look at the schedule. It's been favorable. No, I mean, it's a mix of veterans with rookies with a quarterback that's making great decisions.
Starting point is 01:49:56 And here they are sitting at the top. A couple more things just to kind of add to your point about this Patriots team. So many different moments throughout that game yesterday as we're watching, where Vrable is coaching in between plays to guys that are on the field. Like there was a time, I think it was 516 left. Drake May, they're up five, rolls to the right, throws the ball out of bounds, when they're down in red zone. And you knew that Drake May probably immediately was like,
Starting point is 01:50:18 ah, there's no reason for me to throw that out of bounds and stop the clock right here. We could keep this thing alive. It starts getting frustrated with himself. And literally, they shoot over to Vraibs. Vraib's talking to him like, yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, we're good. Then there was a report up the sidelines.
Starting point is 01:50:29 Like, hey, Vraib was over telling the defense. Hey, nothing else matters except for right now. It's like he's hands on with every single play. And then Trevian Henderson, obviously, we see the moment where he breaks free. And he looks over to the sideline. Should I go down or should I score? And they're probably all like, yo, go ahead. and score that thing, dude, score that thing.
Starting point is 01:50:47 So, like, he's a freak. What do you talk about buying? Yeah, when you talk about buy-in, I think the perfect depiction of it is Stefan Diggs on the hand's team. Stefan Diggs on the hand team, okay? And everybody's talking about, yeah, he should do this. It's like, yeah, right, dude, knowing that he's going to get blasted in the face right there.
Starting point is 01:51:03 That is the only outcome that Stefan Diggs is going to have right there. And they're like, hey, he needs to do what, this is what number one wide receivers always do. It's like, no, they don't. Number one wide receivers are not being sent out there to potentially get shot, right in the jaw or right into the chest. Go ahead. By the way, look at how their school there. Everybody goes in to make a block.
Starting point is 01:51:22 The whole thing, instead of like five guys going up to grab the ball, you got a very, very well-schooled. These guys are trying to make blocks. We know that eight's going to go ahead and make, he's got the ball. We know he's going to catch it. And everybody doing the best they can to try to avoid what ended up happening because they just had a couple too many. They couldn't block them all.
Starting point is 01:51:42 And he still's able to hold on to it. I think you bring up a good point. I think he has a very hungry team, whether it's the blend of rookies and younger players with some bets, but they all are listening to Vrabels. So Vrable's over there coaching in-between series, and instead of them being like, get out of here with that, they're just like, yeah, they're dialed in listening to what he's saying. So it helps winning, right? I mean, it's easy to become that guy when you're winning, and, you know, right now he's got a team that's all in. Yeah, I think all in. Stefan Diggs said earlier in the year, I can't believe he got me to buy it.
Starting point is 01:52:13 And it's like, it's a Vrable effect that he has seemingly in every building that he has. I mean, it was happening at the American Century Classic whenever he walked into the tent. He walks in, everybody's just like, what the hell is this species? He's doing that. He's a great leader. He's an alpha in every sense of the form. But it seems like his empathy for these young guys, like not to beat yourself up too much, is what's showcasing the most. The Patriots are a problem.
Starting point is 01:52:36 Drake Mays, the odds on favor for the MVP. And the Colts are going to win the Super Bowl. We'll be back tomorrow live from Paris Island. Goodbye. All right, that's a pretty good send off. Hell, yeah. Not bad. That was great.
Starting point is 01:52:47 We're still live. We're still live. You know we're still life. Just someone that won't get enough love, and I'm actually, hopefully, doesn't just so he doesn't get any sort of opportunities outside of being the offensive line coach for the Patriots. Doug Morone came in, in their left side of the line, Will Campbell and Jared Wilson, both rookies. Jared Wilson, I believe, played center at Georgia last year. I think he was our third round pick.
Starting point is 01:53:09 Will Campbell, obviously, number four overall. That toss left to end. the game, the Trevion touchdown. I mean, that's right behind Will Campbell. And we got a defensive line in Tonga playing fullback who played eight snaps at fullback actually. And look at that block. Yeah. The amount of guys
Starting point is 01:53:25 on the ground and there goes Vita Vaya but the other run that was a 55 yard touchdown. That was Jared Wilson basically one on one rookie on Vita Vaya. So it's one of those things where I don't know what's in the water or what you know, Doug Marone is feeding
Starting point is 01:53:41 the offensive line. But they're playing their fucking ass off. And, like, that's why, you know, you get chills just thinking about how good these young dudes are. Still so, and on that note, still so, I mean, Christian Gonzalez is unbelievable. And he's starting to have his own little island starting to happen there in this entire season.
Starting point is 01:53:57 But they're up into the right, but they're still so early. Yeah. But there's still so much for Drake, for Vrabel's culture. I mean, another offseason drafting your guys free age. I mean, there's just so much for these Patriots fans of people. Yeah, B.A. always talks about, you know, having the rookies ready. If they're ready by November,
Starting point is 01:54:13 remember by Thanksgiving, you're in a good spot. Travion Henderson, he looks like he's coming along. Kyle Williams, he had a big time play. And a great sign of your team going in the right direction. I hate this for vets sometimes, but when Vrable came in, and they moved on from Kyle Duggar, who had a huge contract, and they moved on from Peppers, who was a solidified vet,
Starting point is 01:54:32 that let you know how these young guys were playing, how they were building. You go and get Carlton Davis, who's another number one corner. Christian Gonzalez is unbelievable. And they came into this game without allowing one rusher that they face to reach 50 yards like that's crazy at the halfway point in the season so they are in tandem right now defense and obviously we know the offense is making plays and they're explosive all right herbie last question for the NFL here from green bay packers owner tie
Starting point is 01:54:58 Schmidt yeah herbie how do you see this game going tonight obviously you had the packers your first week of the regular season for uh Thursday night football and they looked unbelievable look like a different team then and I believe you had the Eagles when they got beat by the giants they obviously look a little bit different now as well. What do you expect out of this one tonight? Yeah, you're right. When I had Green Bay, as you all know, it's such a long grind of a season and, you know,
Starting point is 01:55:24 guys get hurt and teams become a little bit different. Eagles have changed their season around from where they were. I mean, I think offensively, they were really struggling when we had them. They were just starting to kind of find some things, find some answers. I think the Minnesota game obviously changed the complexion maybe their season, and then they followed up with a big win over the Giants. So I think their offense is in a much better place. I think they were arguing with each other. They really couldn't find answers for Saquan in the running game. They were trying to find ways to get
Starting point is 01:55:56 him in space. And I think now you're starting to see a little bit more balanced, putting Jalen in more favorable positions to be able to throw the football. So that's a tough one, man. That is a great game. It's a Green Bay, right? Tonight. Yep. Oh, yeah. Longbo! Great, great matchup, and it'd be fun to watch Micah chase Jalen around. I think it'll be a, this has got that fourth quarter, last second kind of feel, who's going to get the ball late? I don't know what the spread is, but it feels like it's going to be a tight, tight game throughout the entire game. Give Green Bay a nod because they're playing at home at night. One and a half is the spread, Green Bay is favored by, and Shepter came on earlier and said,
Starting point is 01:56:35 it's a Tush-Bush game. Green Bay Packers wanted to ban the Tush-Bush. Michael Parson said it was a stupid play. Philadelphia Eagle is Siriani. They heard that. So look for some tush push. Oh, we love that. Yes.
Starting point is 01:56:48 Oh, we love that. Yeah, 28 degrees in snow at Lambo on Monday night football in November. On the Marines 250th birthday here, November 10th, 2025. This is perfect. This is the football God saying, congratulations. We're halfway through this. Tonight, you get a chance to watch the Super Bowl champs take on the traditional. historical
Starting point is 01:57:10 powerhouses of the NFL in a movie-like setting. Something that Steve Sable would draw up to launch NFL films where the legends would step foot on the same exact land that is holding the snow tonight. That could be this evening for the Packers.
Starting point is 01:57:28 Yes, it could. Eagles could win by 50? No, I don't think so. Oh, okay. 50? Okay, you knew what I was saying. You know what I was. You got PAC winning on a last second field goal with me?
Starting point is 01:57:41 The way Brandon McManus is kicking right now? No, I don't. I think it's either Packers win a close one or yes. They get beat by like 17 or something like that. Multiple scores. No way. This is the Go-Packo game. This is where they play to the level of their opponents.
Starting point is 01:57:57 They played like shit against Carolina last week. They'll look great this week and I don't know who they play probably the Saints next week and they might get beat next. All right, Packers minus one and a half. Packers minus one and a half. I'd go Packers six and a half. Jalen Hurts in that weather, give me a fucking break. Sounds like Herbie's Packers, minus one and a half?
Starting point is 01:58:13 There's a Philly. Oh, no, he's got no connection. He's unstable. Uh-oh. Maybe it's a snow. Here I am. Yeah, here I am. Have you got Packers minus one and a half?
Starting point is 01:58:22 I got Packers, no question. Last second, they're going to win it late, last second field goal. AJ, Packers minus one and a half? Absolutely. Okay, I'd like to let you know currently, AJ, you and I are sitting one pick away from each other for the weekend. You're 5-7-1. I'm 6-6-1 on the weekend, okay? Obviously, I flopped a little bit.
Starting point is 01:58:40 You flopped a little bit on a few. It's not easy at this stage of the game because ass teams aren't ass all the time is what we're learning. And obviously, Colts win the game in Germany. I'm happy, don't cover. Kick the field goal. What the hell? Can we kick the extra point, please?
Starting point is 01:58:54 Yeah. We start doing everything. Yeah, yeah. We need to be a little bit closer. So, AJ, you're on the Packers. I'll give you a chance to tie this thing up. I guess I'll take the Eagles. I guess.
Starting point is 01:59:04 I guess I'll take the Eagles plus one a half. Debutt, who are you got? You know, last two times these two teams faced off and came out to the red zone. Packers are 2 and 7 in the red zone, and that's where they will lose this game. They are used to Michael Parsons, this offense. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:59:20 And I love Jalen Hertz. I don't care of what the weather is. You look at him taking care of the ball. He's going to do that. The trades, Jalen Phillips, Michael Carter came over now, so we may see Coup on the outside a little more. Give me the Eagles with an alternate spread of minus six and a half. Okay, he likes it a little bit more.
Starting point is 01:59:35 He said, let's put a little bit more meat on that. bone for these dogs in Philadelphia. Sportsbook breakers are given some stats here. Now, we have not double-checked this, but it looks good. Philadelphia is a small underdog tonight as the Eagles travel to face the Packers. The Eagles have been fantastic when the line is tight. Eagles are
Starting point is 01:59:51 8-0 overall, 8-0 against spread since October 24, with a spread between negative 3 to plus 3. Philly has won these games by 12.6 points per game. I mean, it's nothing to me. Yeah, yeah. I mean, it's nothing to you. No, have they played the Packers all eight of those games?
Starting point is 02:00:07 Oh, they haven't? Okay, then who gives a... Oh, you're Signetti. You know, Indiana's never won here. This team's never played here. Next question? That was a great answer. He's a good answer. He always hasn't.
Starting point is 02:00:17 Hey, what are you concerned with? Nothing. It's time to attack. What are we talking about? Concerns for Thursday, Wednesday. Now we attack and play football. Thank you. Any more questions?
Starting point is 02:00:27 Legend. A.Q.2 Shibli, FaceTiming me during that game. They're fraud. Signetty. Signetty comes out, runs his mouth before the game. he was answering questions. It's a minute before the game starts.
Starting point is 02:00:40 Like, what do you want from the guy? Talking his shit, can't even beat this sorry. Oh, AQ must have been wound up. So I told him, I said Mendoza's about to do, literally told him. I had a Kirk Herbstree moment. I go, you think Mendoza's losing his game? Hang up on him. Literally mid-sentence.
Starting point is 02:00:54 And then as Omar Cooper Jr. is coming down with that. And Jack Dasher, I believe is the ref's name. As he makes that call of a touchdown, I watching the game, don't think it could be at all. but am taking it as a... Jack! As I am... Yes, exactly. Jack with a good call.
Starting point is 02:01:10 I take that opportunity to call AQ back. He goes, that was pretty good drive out of there, out of Mendo. He goes, I'm like, yeah, Indiana is still surprising people, I think. You know, I think India is still surprising people
Starting point is 02:01:21 and then the number two team in the country. Big Ten has... Not me. I'm all in now. Big Ten has power at the top. Big Ten has some real power. I think they're very confident in it as a whole. But as we look at this college football,
Starting point is 02:01:33 what a catch. What a catch. more Cooper did that right toe didn't tap in too did it no I do not think so so he hovered it a lot of people say that it did they say it good in NFL I think they're saying because his toe and then his heel hit both of it but watch this right watch his right I thought it was yeah I don't wait he got that I don't even close to touch him let's see I don't know if it was definitely close like great oh boys and I thought he because he knew it was going to be out yeah I don't think it ever touched but people
Starting point is 02:02:01 were saying it would have been good in the NFL is that because left toe and then left heel Two different touches? Same foot, though, right? I think we all think two feet, because I said good on Sunday, too. But that was the Garrett Wilson touchdown from last year in prime time that got called the touchdown. Was it his foot or was it? Because I thought it was, no, I thought it was toe. He had shit in that one. I do wonder if the toe and the heel, because I saw everybody saying good on Sunday, and I was like, I don't know.
Starting point is 02:02:27 Because it looks like, to your point, Herbie, I am into camp that I thought it hovered, which was incredible that it didn't touch out of bounds. but I guess I'm in the camp that he touched his right when was it when he was touching back right before the left from okay so let's go
Starting point is 02:02:41 let's run that thing again I thought he saw it you take it touch I think the right one took right there where where can we zoom in on this at all or no
Starting point is 02:02:50 can we zoom in on this at all we cannot zoom in in this can't NBC it yeah I think he just missed I don't think he does so I thought it was incredible body control to keep that right foot up oh my god
Starting point is 02:03:02 wait that's what I did the Penn State defender keep his right foot up? Yeah, right foot? Where it kicks his shit? Yeah, boom. Oh, yeah. So, yeah, it didn't touch, you're right. I'm out. Bro, that right foot never touched. I saw a lot of people
Starting point is 02:03:20 saying good on Sunday. I'm like, oh, it must be foot foot, but I didn't even know that. This is the first time I'm NBC in it like this. Hey, it's right here too pretty good. This is great. If that gets called a touchdown in the league, though, it might stand. Yeah, it might be tough to over there.
Starting point is 02:03:35 I don't know. I think it doesn't, I think it clearly doesn't touch. I think the other thing is the heel touched out of bounds, it's still a touchdown, right? Because of the toe. In college or? In college, if the toe touched and then the heel would have been out of bounds, I think it would have given him the touch with a toe. Really? That's exactly.
Starting point is 02:03:56 All right, let's talk a little bit more about college ball. Indiana, we feel like going to be in, even if they don't win the Big Ten. Yeah. Feel like they have. done enough that people will say this is one of 12 best teams in the country. They're in, no matter what happens. I think so, too. Group of five has to get in.
Starting point is 02:04:12 And then Tone has a question for you about college ball, the sport we all love. Yeah, I do, Herbie. Obviously, preseason in the ACC, it was going to be Clemson, and after a week one, and then for a few weeks it was going to be Miami, and then they suffered a loss, and then it was going to be Georgia Tech, and then they lost, and it was going to be Virginia, and then they lost, and then Louisville, and then they lost. So now we are here. Could be them, but does anyone want to win the ACC first and
Starting point is 02:04:33 foremost. And do we even have to let an ACC team in? Are we sure those are the rules? I guess those are the rules. You do. You do have to let an ACC team. Yeah. Listen, I hope it's... The last two weeks for the ACC, every team that's ranked and up there is lost. They suck. So, you know, they're back to... Pit. Pit becomes the team everybody's going to want to talk about. I mean, they have everything in front of them. If you look at the schedule. I mean, if they want to get in, it's right in front of them. Notre Dame, Georgia Tech on the road, and Miami. I mean, could it set up any better for Pitt? You know, if you want to be the team that's going to say, hey, if nobody else wants to go, we'll go to Charlotte. We'll make a
Starting point is 02:05:19 run. I mean, right now, Georgia Tech should be the odds on favorite, but I think Pitt, they look different with this quarterback plan for them. We'll see. We'll see if they can get by, even if they lose to Notre Dame, they're still theoretically alive because they can get within their own conference and get to that conference championship game. Now on the flip side, Notre Dame. Hey, Duke is the second Notre Dame can't lose. Yes.
Starting point is 02:05:42 Yeah, because they control the Who did I play last week? North Carolina? No, they lost Yukon. Oh, I thought you said, oh, last week? Yeah, it's Saturday. Yukon got a huge one. Somebody had them as their Super Dog. It was Herbie
Starting point is 02:05:56 because of Gump's. Yeah. Wow. Nick gave him some love too. gave us some love. Good for the Yukon. Hey, you took a bigger lead in Super Dog? That's what I just heard. I'm going to give Gumpy, get a shot of Gumpy there in the control room. Gump, thanks, buddy.
Starting point is 02:06:10 You steered me into that one. I'm going to talk to you again on this Friday in the production meeting, so get ready. Thank you, Gump. Thank you, Gump. I had Iowa. I was going to go Iowa, and then I thought about Auburn and Vandy, and then Gump said, no, no, no, no, no, you got to go, got to go Yukon. I didn't say that.
Starting point is 02:06:31 That's awesome. Joe? How about the faith in Yukon up there? Joe, how do you say his last name, Tom? Because it's one of those Italian last names. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I don't want to be. I don't want to be wrong here.
Starting point is 02:06:42 There's going to be a lot of Italian last names at this game. Phonado. Well, he's ball. 25 touchdowns, no pick. Scholar Bell, he's top one or two in all the wide receiver categories. We're doing some things up there in stores. I'll tell you, Sangapololetelli with that winner over Louisville and Louisville, going for, let's go get this.
Starting point is 02:07:01 Nope, not going for a field goal. Touchdown. Let's go for it. And over. That hit the over right there. Over was 49 and a half. Thank you, Songapoletele. Thank you, overtime games to delivering for overs. But this guy, I mean, I understand Cal's got a lot of money.
Starting point is 02:07:16 We love Cal. We love Cal. Song Politelli's market is going to be out fucking outrageous this offseason, Kirk. And I think Pittsburgh is going to be on Saturday as well. A lot of Irish people in Pittsburgh, Kirk. A lot of Irish. Well, a lot of Italian, a lot of Irish. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 02:07:33 Oh, yeah. A lot of, you grew up in Italian, you grew up in an Italian neighborhood, didn't you? Yeah, all. A few Polacks. All Italians, all Italians in my neighborhood. And now, on that note, the Italians will be delivering, I think, this weekend. Grazie to all the Paizano's that, uh... What's the best Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh?
Starting point is 02:07:51 So there's a place called, uh, to watch your mouth. Watch your mouth. Just from what I've experienced. Uh, Serafinos is a place that's a place that's. It's obviously being talked about in a big way. Bill Carr's favorite spot is Serafino's. Narduzzi's favorite spot is Serafino's. My favorite spot is...
Starting point is 02:08:08 I've got to go there. Jerosolis, it's down in Shadyside. Okay. What you're going to know, and you know this, just go ahead and take a walk around, and it'll be like, oh, here's an Italian joint there. What do you guys do? Pizza sandwiches, pasta.
Starting point is 02:08:20 Got it. Okay, and then you're going to walk a little bit further. Oh, what's this? Dhabadabini. Okay, what happens in here? We got pizza sandwiches and pasta. Okay, sick. That is so nice.
Starting point is 02:08:29 And then you're going to turn a corner. Boom. Guess who's going to be there? Zap, and it'll be the best that you ever. And then you'll see the Olive Garden and walk right in. Don't. Oh, you can eat breadsticks. There's no Fizzolas.
Starting point is 02:08:44 There's no. Yeah. Sorry. Bapida, Bapida, baby. Not as good as Marion. Not as good as Marion. No, no. Don't be doing it.
Starting point is 02:08:53 We know that. Yeah. Marians and Bill's Donuts. Variances of bills right across the street from each other. It's Kirk, guys. Who? Yeah. Who?
Starting point is 02:09:03 Tom Kirk. Minerville, Ohio. Curb's big on that. Centerville, Ohio? That's a home of Rob Derdeck, I do believe, right? Or Circleville? Kettering, yeah. He's Kettering.
Starting point is 02:09:12 Robben, Big. Yeah. Wow. Kettering. Yeah, right? Kettering, Ohio, right next to Centerville. A home of a bar that I had frequented because my holder in college is from Centerville, Ohio. He's a proud Elk alumni, as we are here with a couple proud Centerville Elks.
Starting point is 02:09:28 I didn't know that. You're a holder? Oh, yeah, Jeremy Cash, legend. He's still in Centerville right now. I think he's still doing it. And I think he will be doing it until the day he died. The bar near the school with like the low roof, that bar? Yes.
Starting point is 02:09:42 Yeah. Yeah, it was a good bar. Awesome bar. Good bar, good bar. A lot of scratch off pulled tabs, you know, darts. Karaokey. Maybe smoking six. Sure.
Starting point is 02:09:51 Great breakfast. Everything you could ask for. A lot of booze. It was right there. Right there next to circle or Kettering. Right there next to Kettering. Circleville is right I know the I think I know the place you're talking about
Starting point is 02:10:02 No, Centerville Yeah Rob Derdeck the best He was making Yeah oh yeah He made a lot of money 46 seasons in 11 years He was making 30 a year for ridiculousness
Starting point is 02:10:14 That's just that show Let alone all his other shoe cup Everything else Rob Derdeck right here Yeah You're talking about Respect Head of the ball game huh One of the goats in this entire thing
Starting point is 02:10:24 And rest of peace Big Black Obviously Legend had a beer of 40 with him former Marine he had an incredible vibe yeah he was just joking
Starting point is 02:10:33 I don't think big black yeah just joking who was the Miller light guy Wando Wando Wendell rest in peace of Wendell had a few Miller lights with him as well Resting him yeah yeah I believe he was here in Indianapolis
Starting point is 02:10:45 a few different times had a great time Big Black great time he was great vibes what a great show Turns out if that heel would have gone out of bounds It would have been incomplete yeah it's good update
Starting point is 02:10:59 I wanted you to have that now it makes you appreciate it that much more you text Terry McCauley watch watch the toe I can't believe I thought that right yeah yeah but you didn't see you saw it on your phone you saw it on your phone yeah exactly so the heel being in
Starting point is 02:11:16 is huge if if what he lifts it up and falls out after the toe touch is still good as well yeah if the heel touches out of bounds But if right here he lifts off of his toe onto the ground and he'll never touch. Heels in bounds. Yeah, but I'm saying as his foot comes down. Still touch him.
Starting point is 02:11:36 That's crazy. Omar Cooper Jr., Indianapolis, Indiana boy. Wow. And there for the Hoosers. Fernando McDoza potentially going to be on the show today. He was not able to. Okay. That was 35 minutes.
Starting point is 02:11:48 Yeah, he's got class, right? All right, Herbie. We're going to get out of here, I think, as a show as a whole, brother. All right, boys. Don't get him tonight, pack. good luck yeah good luck to the eagles as well for those of us to have fly eagles fly the philadelphia eagles at plus one but also good luck to the NFL let's have a great prime time please let's have a great one need it's get snow big ratings close game well love to watch
Starting point is 02:12:12 this well well the ratings are going to be problematic you know because there is black you know is that still going on that's still going on send another tweet herbie all right be your friend tell a friend something don't actually don't don't do it don't you dare You coached me up on that. Now I know. I went to the site. Herbie, why don't you break us down? Then we're going to take a break
Starting point is 02:12:31 and we'll come back and do all the overreactions and be on our way. But this is our last time with you, Herbie, on this glorious overreaction Monday. Anything to say to the team here, Herbie? Love you boys. You guys are the best. We love Mondays so we can overreact with you guys
Starting point is 02:12:45 and all just get it off of our chest and then start a new tomorrow. Hey, appreciate you. Your show with Joey G. Sweet. Nonstop. We appreciate you checking in this morning. Absolutely. Great show. Great show. It's on YouTube.
Starting point is 02:12:58 Thank you. There's a while that they were teammates in college and me and Joey Gallauder were teammates in the pros. That's how long he was fast. That's nuts. He was still fast. He could still. What's that? 418.
Starting point is 02:13:13 Yeah. Can't make a fucking putt. I see on his Instagram. Can't make a putt, but I love that man. I do enjoy the hell out of her. All right. We'll be back on the other side with overreactions from around the NFL. Be a friend, tell a friend something nice.
Starting point is 02:13:27 It might change our life. We're in this thing together. Team on me, team on three, one, two, three. Team. Team! Team! What are the numbers on tonight's game? Football
Starting point is 02:13:38 Is Matt? Well, that's A.J. Hawk. The toxic tables here at Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt. One half of the Hammer, that Cowboys AP Tonus. Your tone, what are the numbers on tonight's game? We already made our picks because Kirk Herbstree was so damn confident about how this is going to go. And I'll tell you, he's seeing the game. Yes.
Starting point is 02:13:54 He is seeing the field right now. Now, certainly in college, it will carry over to Monday Night Football. feels like he thinks this is the last second field goal for Green Bay to get the win. He picked Green Bay minus one and a half. A.J. Hawk, you picked Green Bay minus one and a half as well. Obviously feel obligated to as the all-time leading tackler, but why do you actually believe that as well?
Starting point is 02:14:12 I mean, I think it's going to be one of those magical nights in Lambeau. I truly do. I saw there's flurries possibly going to happen. It's just, yeah, good luck beating this team. Josh Jacobs on the ground. Even though I have a ton of respect for Phillies D-line and what they can do. But, man, I just think Jordan Love puts it together. This is one of those games
Starting point is 02:14:28 you look back on, you know, two months from now, and he say, hey, we took a big step that night. Yeah, the Eagles could be saying the same thing, DeBuck, couldn't they be? Yeah, I think they will. I think the Eagles fly tonight. I just looked up the odds. It's around plus 250 for my alternate line, which is minus six and a half. I had no idea that graphic popped up with the, you know, them being 8-0 against the Spirit straight up in one of those games by the average of 12.6 points, I believe.
Starting point is 02:14:52 Sequin finding his footing, I think it's a bit of a runaway for the Eagles tonight. Telling what's the number? who's on what? So if you want, you get the pack at minus a half. You can get the Eagles that plus that one and a half if you guys want. If you don't want to go with D-Buts minus six and a half alternate spread there, 80% of the bets are on Philadelphia. Fuck.
Starting point is 02:15:11 Boom. Love that. Love that. Love the pack tonight. Love them. One team's coming off a terrible loss. This weekend. Oh, just played in a bad weather game.
Starting point is 02:15:20 This weekend, teams that are getting 60% or more of the bets are four and seven. Oh, no. Oh. That was good. What was that four? Yeah, I'm good. Okay. Yeah, I feel okay.
Starting point is 02:15:31 I feel okay because I didn't like that 80% number there. It was really high. I said, football gods. Why don't you bless me with a youth ball shot right here? See if I'm going in the right direction. That was splashy splash right there. That was good news, but we're not going to be able to play. Anyways, let's get some overreaction, shall we?
Starting point is 02:15:47 This Monday of football season could be a special one. It could be a breaking point for some fans, and it could be a making point for some fans. for some fans. That's why we kind of want to get the temperature, the lay of the land around the league with different fandom. So I put out a tweet that said, hey, why don't you tell me how you feel? What do you think of your team? Are you great or you ask? All you got to use is the hashtag, I don't want to overreact. But? Ty will scan through them and find his favorites. It ended up being a top three trending topic, I do believe. We appreciate everybody loving ball as much as we do. And also
Starting point is 02:16:21 utilizing this tweet as a therapeutic session to kind of get it all out of you. start first with Evan Fox. Okay, this guy, handsome guy, good beard, okay? One point we saw him, he didn't have a beard, much different life now with a beard, super handsome, very mature, two weddings, this guy got married twice. It was, uh, it was truly a wonderful thing. Same person. The wonderful, brides, yes, same person.
Starting point is 02:16:44 Good, good person. Same person is an awesome person, by the way. This guy has lived with the lions his whole life, though. You know, he's looked forward to Thanksgiving all the time. Hashtack I don't want over yet. but not only is MCDC the best coach in the NFL, but he's also the best play caller in the NFL. Do not fuck with four-eyed Dan Campbell.
Starting point is 02:17:04 Hashtag one pride. Amen, brother. I mean, it was a masterclass seemingly by Dan Campbell. Yeah, if we're overreacting right now, just based off Lions Twitter, everyone was done with John Morton there. And listen, love Johnny Moe, but the offense was clunky.
Starting point is 02:17:20 It didn't look right. It didn't look like a Ben Johnson's offense. And then MCDC takes the reins over. And it looks amazing. Everyone's eating. Everyone's getting balls. And also, I got to add this in there. After a loss, Dan Campbell hasn't lost the next game in 1,100 days.
Starting point is 02:17:35 And that's just incredible coaching. So I'm happy he's our guy. Yeah, certainly happy he's your guy for the sake of your life and your football fandom. You know, him taking over play calling and then being great. Do you think this comes from everybody complaining about not getting a ball on Monday? And Dan Campbell's saying enough of it. I'll just call the plays. And did we know this about Dan Campbell as we're talking about Ben Johnson's genius?
Starting point is 02:17:58 Do we think Dan Campbell also maybe had a hand in this in the past? Or is it just like, hey, I'll jump in whenever you need me, AJ. I bet before it was probably very collaborative throughout the week and everything. But when it comes to the game, like only one person can be calling the plays in, can have the radio and radio it into the quarterback's helmet. But yeah, you're taking bits of advice and everything throughout the game. But think about it, you're the guy making the call. You're on the clock.
Starting point is 02:18:21 As soon as that play ends, boom, we're on to the next one. and you're planning for, you know, future drives, which has been awesome so far watching all this. What a shot also. Sorry, for the gentleman that got suspended. What a shot he had on Amman. I just thought of it again. Jeez, that was just, that was a violent shot.
Starting point is 02:18:37 Yeah, so credit to all involved, I guess, on this one. But, oh. I mean, he felt, he saw that right at the last second, didn't he? Oh, I just, yeah, I just, yeah, he had his hand dons. I genuinely don't know how we got to this point. I'm sure both parties there certainly understand now that they are not good friends.
Starting point is 02:18:57 But whenever they were a good offense, they were winning games. So MCDC to take over the play calls. I wonder what happened. Johnny Moe has got to be so pissed too. MCDC is like, oh, yeah, I'll take over the calls against the commanders. Johnny Moe's like, we can call literally anything and score 50 against commanders. Oh, but that's the thing is they weren't utilizing all their weapons.
Starting point is 02:19:18 So I think if you listen to what was said by some of the players afterward, It's like we got a lot of good guys. When we spread it around, we can all kind of eat or whatever. I think there was a lot of complaints happening, Dan Campbell, about not getting the ball. I think there was people pissed off. And Dan Campbell was like, you're right, man, you're right, man. What can I do? I'm going to do it.
Starting point is 02:19:34 And then he just gives the ball to everybody. I mean, how many people had literally play changing games? It felt like all of the stars had big time plays. Jamo had six catches. St. Brown had five catches. Laporta had five catches. Khalif Raymond had four catches. Jemir Gibbs had 173 total yards.
Starting point is 02:19:51 So, yeah, and my favorite part about it all, and this is just being a good head coach, is when, even though they were winning games, they're five and three, it just didn't look right, and he knew something had to change, so he changed it, and he put it on himself. What if he has six turnovers next week, man. Oh, man. And then we got a whole other conversation. Oh, man. John Morton was calling plays, man. Yeah. That wasn't me, man.
Starting point is 02:20:13 Yeah, just like Vilma just. Oh, man. Yeah. For some reason, he just wouldn't say that Dan Campbell was calling plays. And I don't know, like, if he just thought that he couldn't, you know. But he was, like, alluding to it. It was like, sure, looks like he's potentially, and they were zoomed in on his face, and he was talking. And he had glass.
Starting point is 02:20:31 And I think they even showed Jared Goff go like this to him. And then him go, hey, Jared, you know, while he was doing it. And they just refused to say it, you know, like on the broadcast. From my understanding, did they ever get to the point of saying, hey, it's very obvious that Dan Campbell's calling the plays right now. It just felt like they were a little gunshot. Yeah. Never outright said it, but that tweet I just showed you guys. That came out right when the game started.
Starting point is 02:20:55 So clearly Garfalo knew this changed happened and was just getting out in front of everyone. So that's why it was so weird that Jonathan Vilma wouldn't just address. Yeah, hey, Campbell's calling the plays here. Wilma could see him with his glasses on and the thing. And Johnny Moe not having a play sheet. Like they kept showing that on TV. It was very obvious. I'm telling you, it was in between plays.
Starting point is 02:21:15 They were showing this is the offense coordinator, not doing anything. He's literally not saying. sit up her having a good time. Got a good little goatee. I think I don't think I knew exactly what he looked like. And they go back to Dan Campbell. Glass is on, but, but, but, it's while the play clock's happening. He's like, he certainly looks like he could potentially be,
Starting point is 02:21:32 it's like, brother. Maybe Dan Campbell, like, finesse him and like production means like, no, Johnny Moore would be calling it. You'll see me with glass. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. They wouldn't confirm to Vilma, maybe. Maybe they asked him, hey, are you going to be calling plays, coach? And he's like, no, you know, it's all, it's all. It's all. I don't sound stupid up there. I respect Jonathan
Starting point is 02:21:47 Wilma. I'm not going to say, we don't. But as I was listening to him, talk, I'm like, are we all, what am I missing? I had it muted at first. Then they see Dan Campbell with his glasses on his little fucking thing. I'm like, that looks sweet. Let's go over there. And then I hear Vilma saying, this guy may be not calling place. It's like he's fucking clearly.
Starting point is 02:22:08 Have we ever seen him with glasses on? Have we this four-eyed guy? Never. I don't think we've ever seen four-eyed guy he's doing. But I appreciate Jonathan Vilma, okay? I do appreciate Jonathan Vilma doing his thing. Kenny Albert, doing their thing. Had a president, call play, love what they're doing.
Starting point is 02:22:24 But just refusing to acknowledge what was clearly happening, which will go on to be one of the biggest stories of the entire game, basically. It's like, hey, this Detroit Lions team completely changed who's calling plays here. The head coach is now in charge. Which then goes to a whole, do the coordinators matter if MCDC can just go ahead and do everything? And he has said, he has said, this place should be able to operate without me in here. Is it what I want to build? What a good spot for the Detroit Lions.
Starting point is 02:22:48 Let's move on. on Kenny Albert. Great work out there. I'm just saying every time I heard the conversation about his he calling plays, it's like this guy's been in the NFL a long time. Like, what are we? Maybe he was being told you can't. I was just waiting for Kenny Albert to be like,
Starting point is 02:23:03 yes, he is! You know, usually that would be his role, but he didn't. What did Kenny say to the president? The only thing I listen for when I hear Kenny Albert talk, if he's not saying yes, just over and over again, it's kind of in one ear, out the other. There was a lot of those
Starting point is 02:23:19 for the Detroit Lions. Yeah, exactly. A lot of big time throws. And yes, touch them. A lot of those. And then Commander's turn over, Detroit Lions got the ball again. And, oh, no, but yes! That's kind of his bag.
Starting point is 02:23:33 And that's why I love him. So good. Is the president going to be joining you in the booth tonight, Kenny? Yes. Do you have a plan for the president, Kenny? Yes. Are you going to have him call a play, Kenny? Yes.
Starting point is 02:23:49 Whenever the commander's score, is the president immediately going to acknowledge the ratings boost that that has to be? Because this game has been boring and a blowout. Yes. Okay. All right. Let's go to the next overreactions from Boston Connor. Legend living in his best life right now. Hashtack, I don't want to overreact.
Starting point is 02:24:07 But the Patriots are so much better than your favorite team. And this year's draft class might go down as the best draft class in the history of ball. Take a long look and get used to it again. Tell me about the draft class con, man. Yeah, every single one of those players on there played their asses off. Trevion, of course, everyone knows. I believe he reached 22 miles an hour. We're just talking about that at the break.
Starting point is 02:24:29 Kyle Williams also 72-yard touchdown. Filthy. He's, you know, kind of sitting a little bit in the back seat right now just because Kayshon Booty's doing so well. Jared Wilson starting left guard. Will Campbell, of course, starting left tackle. And then Craig Woodson. I texted debut during the game.
Starting point is 02:24:45 He's the reason they were so comfortable letting Kyle Dugger out the door. he actually had a massive pass breakup on third and three, which led to a fourth and three, which led to a turnover on downs. He is very, very good, and then the photo on the right, McDaniels, you know? The coaching staff is not going anywhere. Everyone they have, but not everyone,
Starting point is 02:25:05 essentially everyone they have, has either been a head coach or has been in a kind of higher position, and everyone just feels comfortable being under the Mike Vrable, Supreme Commander, head coach tree and I don't think any of them want to leave. McDaniels has already said, I just want to coach Drake May for the rest of my career and that's the most important thing. Head coaching matters. I mean, we just heard everything we just talked about about MCDC and Foxy. It's actually the only reason I'm worried about my Packers pick because I think
Starting point is 02:25:34 Lafour sucks. But the Patriots are unbelievable. There is a chance here that this draft class, one, just kind of picks up the Drake May, basically. basically flag and just continues to run with them, man. The paths are going to be good for the next 10 years with Drake May and Vrable, and it might go much, much further after that. Congrats to you guys. We were really bummed out for you for this couple years. And I felt that, and I appreciated that, and now you guys can just be happy.
Starting point is 02:26:01 Okay, we are happy for you again. It's not just the Patriots. Red Sox, well, it looks like they're going to be good. Yeah, they're on the up and up. And don't look now, but Marco Stern has those Boston Bruins playing pretty fucking well, too. Oh, yeah? Oh, yeah. Hold on.
Starting point is 02:26:16 Luca Garza had 16 and 8 last night, and we beat the Orlando Magic as underdogs, Joe Missoula. If he's not the head coach of the Celtics, he's going to coach his son's team because he doesn't want to coach for anyone else. And I fear that might lead to a very terrible life for Coach Missoula,
Starting point is 02:26:30 but he's going to be the head coach in Boston for a little. Okay, so you got a young head coach there, got a new head coach of the Patriots, and you got a newer head coach for the Bruins. Or the Red Sox go, I know he got Tony, Tony, right? Yeah, we got Tony, Tony. also word on the street is Terrick Scoobel wants to be a Boston Red So don't look now
Starting point is 02:26:49 The kind of four major teams that you guys and myself Have been so used to being just dominant in Title Town USA We had a little bit of a drop Won the NBA championship two years ago But we had a little bit of a drought Yeah, I had a parade still They're all the way back all four of them It's dangerous times for everybody else
Starting point is 02:27:10 I feel real bad if you're not a new England sports fan. It might get real ugly across the board. It has been in the past. Yeah. Yes, it has. Massholes being given a lot of reason to be Massels. It's certainly a time that we're standing down here.
Starting point is 02:27:24 And we all need to understand that. You know, we try to give a little bit of a warning at the end of COVID as people were starting to roll out in public. Okay, try to remember this. Try to give a little bit of a warning. Like, hey, when you're at your house, I'll buy yourself and you're just popping off on the internet, like there was no actual repercussions other than people saying, you're jerk.
Starting point is 02:27:42 Okay, real life, people will punch you in the fucking face. Okay, you need to remember that. As we get out of our house and we go into public in society, let's remember that there are about it, about it out there, and not about it about it with your bullshit, and they will punch you in the face. First weekend of sports, it was a knockout. Every baseball day.
Starting point is 02:28:01 Every single, it was, boom, the bang and the pound. It felt like that was an observational thing from us that we did pretty good societal studies in the entire thing. Another one, mass holes are about to be all the way back, and very loud remember what it was like 10 years ago 15 years ago it's about to be like that again we should prepare accordingly yeah and i just really worry um that within these next couple years paul skeins ships up to boss now and then we have a real problem on our hands when it comes to those four he's not shipping that way he's an ls u guy will campbell too i believe they're kind of
Starting point is 02:28:35 they're kind of friends actually and when you hear drake may speak just feels like him and skeins are kind of like soulmates you know like they both they both are just about their sport that that's it that you know drake may i'm sure he is more than a football player but he's a football player through and through there's there's nothing about him that's not ball and uh also his uh the comments under his wife's ticot because his wife is just kind of i mean she's got a may in the shade you know she's married to drink fucking may so uh she's just kind of cooking and it's awesome actually and it looks great all the comments on her ticot are hilarious it's just hey if Don't let Drake eat too much tonight unless he wants to, then let him eat whatever he wants.
Starting point is 02:29:15 She's first lady all of a sudden. Yeah, Lady May, if you will. But yes, it is wonderful to be a new... Lady May is certainly a fantastic name. Congratulations to the Mays and the Mayflower that obviously descended upon Massachusetts again. Other teams searching falling wide for this. Other cities begging for this. Oh, dear.
Starting point is 02:29:38 New England says, us take it again. How could they let Vrable go back there? The Titan, you know? Rabel said something about the things. He did. Just don't put our names in the same sentence. Good luck, Nashville.
Starting point is 02:29:54 You guys are going to do great. Yeah, it'll figure it out. They got to be just what every Titans fan just like, what have we done? They're chanting his name as he comes in and beats him with his new squad. Things happen.
Starting point is 02:30:10 What is kind of sweet that we should talk about how great the NFC is at the top. The AFC isn't that great across the board aside from New England in Indianapolis. Like it really is, if you're looking at the top, especially right now, like how great do we feel about the Broncos? Steelers, chargers, bills, jags. Like the chiefs and the chiefs, they're under the middle of a dynasty.
Starting point is 02:30:34 I fully expect them to be at least the five seed, if not come back and win that division. He is, by the way, I didn't, he's much more. Pretty put together. Yeah, he's much more stalky. Yeah. Like, kind of jacked than you think. You know, because everybody sees photos and they think he has.
Starting point is 02:30:49 He was, hit him on a back couple times. It's like, oh, this guy, he's got some. He's got it. Yeah, because he's been hitting a lot of big. First thing he shows up, I go, you got to stop fucking taking these hits. I'm sick of it. He goes, what? I'm giving the hits.
Starting point is 02:31:02 I'm not taking hits. I go, exactly. This is the problem we talk about. You need to stop thinking like that. So made sure I added it on air. Just so Chiefs fans, everybody know, I am. Thank you. I am on your side.
Starting point is 02:31:13 He needs to stop trying to run people. He's already a goat, already has a Hall of Fame resume. And now he's like, you know what? Yeah, I'm actually the toughest guy on this field, too. I'm going to start doing it. It's like, we know you are. You've proved it. Way to go.
Starting point is 02:31:25 We need you not doing that. He's special, dude. You should have seen him. When him and Mrs. Mahomes walked onto the fucking field, it was just like, the whole place. It was crazy. Wasn't on the jumbo tron at first as he was walking out. So students section area, this corner basically goes crazy.
Starting point is 02:31:42 Then they put him up on the thing, and it was just like, you watch the entire fucking. Tidal wave. Yeah, just absolutely go crazy. It was like, holy shit. And they're wearing his uniforms out there. Sick. Yeah, he's done good. Yeah, I'd see.
Starting point is 02:31:54 Bashball's done good. New college ball, too. I don't know how his picks were, but he, like, he knew it very, very well. Did his picks go all right? Yeah, I don't know how his picks ended up. Yeah, he was good on there. I don't remember. Yeah, I'm not sure.
Starting point is 02:32:05 He did say in there, though, the favorite guy for him to watch her. as Dante Moore, and we, as far as the draft goes next year, we really didn't talk about him with Mendoza and Ty Simpson. Like, Dante Moore might be one of those guys. I saw people saying that Ryle was going to be upset. He said that. Oh, yeah. Yeah. A lot of people saying that. I saw those tweets. He was hurting.
Starting point is 02:32:22 He was talking about active. He was saying. The Incredibles meme. Yeah. Donte, there was some really good balls in the rain. Yeah. What's that? Don't take there was some really good balls in the rain. And all of his wide receivers were out. He only threw the ball like five times. You guys could have won that game.
Starting point is 02:32:37 Should have won that game. Yeah. But. Yeah, that's life. Yep. We knew they were. We all knew they were. I don't think so.
Starting point is 02:32:46 As soon as Kirk Kierp Street opened his mouth. Whispered. On Thursday. Yeah, but that was it. That move right there. That would indicate, like, I was more worried about, oh, they're going to get routed. Like, they're going to come in, and it really, you know, like, Iowa had their opportunities. They outplayed them, actually.
Starting point is 02:33:02 Yeah, but the football God's just weren't going to let that happen. The fumble. Yeah. The fumble. Oh, 6-7? Is that what you just did right there? Yeah. It's really alive and well.
Starting point is 02:33:11 I noticed that whenever saving one like this while he was giving an answer in the entire student section. Everybody just immediately went to and I was like, holy shit, this thing's got real motion. Yeah, got legs. Yes, it does. Yes, it certainly does. And I'll tell you what, I'm starting to find a lot of different ways to use it. You know, if it's going to be a part of society, we should start maybe using it.
Starting point is 02:33:32 Then you got the people going, when's this over? I'm like, I don't know, I don't want to be the bearer bad news. but I just watch fucking 10,000 people all in unison. None of them talked about it. So I think we're currently what you like to call in its prime. I believe we are currently in its prime and it's going to have some more time. I didn't believe.
Starting point is 02:33:49 That was a lovely place was great. Let's go to another overreaction, shall we? Phoenix Maximus, a fan of the program, I believe, a lot of action. We appreciate the hell out of them. Don't know who it is. Hashtack, I don't want to overreact. But Tomlin and his Steelers live off of historical greatness border in Greek
Starting point is 02:34:05 Tourism Department. The best ownership in Pittsburgh is Fenway at this point And damn it hurts to say that Fire everyone except boss I don't know if the Fenway group is still in With the Penguins if they are I believe They suck They are trying to get out
Starting point is 02:34:20 And we are hoping that they are on our way out But on that note The Greek Tourism Board That's throwback That's back when the Greek gods were really doing their thing Kind of get us over there Do you think that's true on how people view The Pittsburgh Steelers?
Starting point is 02:34:34 Funny fact, I believe I either mute it or blocked that guy last night. So that's good. Phoenix match. Yeah, pretty sure. He's a bit chirpy. But no, what he said there is not incorrect. Tom and coaches, like, it's 1988, you know, run the ball, protect the ball, try to force turnover.
Starting point is 02:34:55 So it's old. It's worn out. We're over it. You're over to this whole season, Tone? No, no. I'm going to point the season. they can't hurt me anymore. I don't know if that's the case.
Starting point is 02:35:10 No, literally last night for the first time in my history of a fan, at half, I said, I know how the second half is going to go, and I turned it off. Really? Never ever done that in my entire life. That's dad, husband, full-time job life right there on a Sunday night saying, I'm not letting him do it to me again. Wife's out of town, so I knew if I had to deal with stuff,
Starting point is 02:35:27 it was going to be me. So I said, you know, I'm not letting the Steelers ruin my night. And I did. Defense wasn't bad, though. Aaron played the worst game you could possibly play as a course. quarterback. I don't know. We had six turnovers last week against Spitzburg Steelers.
Starting point is 02:35:42 I saw a negative 10 passing yard on a graphic earlier in the show today, so. There was a couple. Yeah, but you saw it. You saw it. I mean, he overthrew D.K. He overthrew Jono. It was, Aaron has been incredible the season. I want to, I'll say that, but
Starting point is 02:35:57 last night was horrendous. He was on the three yard line and thought he was Michael Vic and decided to jump backwards into the end zone for safety. That was. How many people Pittsburgh are saying the exact things that you just said right there. Did you hear that? I just heard every Pittsburgh dad go. Oh, Aaron Rogers 47 years old thinks he's Mike
Starting point is 02:36:13 Vic. Okay, you're going to outrun Khalil Mack. Okay, Aaron. Yeah, go further into the end zone next time. We can win the next five or we can lose the next five and that's just how it is right now. Good luck to the Steelers and Phoenix Maximus. Let's go to the next overreaction. This one's from Grant.
Starting point is 02:36:29 I believe it's a Korean flag at Grant Andres. Maybe international teacher or some. Hashtag I don't want or he reacts, but Colts winning the Super Bowl, Indiana Jones sucking the blood out of the Falcons defense. J.T. ramming through everyone like a juggernaut. The football
Starting point is 02:36:45 gods blessing us was warned, not even worried about this schedule. Me and either, Grant, hell yeah. Everything you just said was right. I knew it was a big day for Jonathan Taylor just because I saw him running a lot, but with the way the game was going, I don't think I expected it. Whenever they said, he is
Starting point is 02:37:01 220 yards right now, I was like, 220 yards. Good, good, and Oregon, Jonathan Taylor. This has been a great day over there in Germany. And then obviously, with his ability to break the long run, long one, the home run one, it's like any game is changeable. If we're losing, we're out, there's a chance we're about to hit a home run. It's the longest touchdown of the season for Jonathan Taylor and the NFL for a run.
Starting point is 02:37:24 It's like, this guy's outrageous. Four three touchdown games is insane. Offensive line seemingly all the way back. Now, they do have to protect a little bit better. And snappers got to get the ball to Daniel Jones's check. whenever he's snapping it. We can't have him bouncing all over the place. Danny Dimes has another two turnovers this week following last week's six turnover game.
Starting point is 02:37:44 So eight turnovers in two-week period. We end up with a win throughout the shots. That's good news. But if we get that cleaned up, which we should be able to, Danny Dimes is making massive throws. A lot of people want Daniel Jones to go back to who he was in New York. I hate to break it to you. With little to no time left, he was dropping dimes.
Starting point is 02:38:00 And overtime, he dropped an absolute dime. Like the big moments whenever they called for it, Daniel Jones delivered, which I think is what everybody who wants to see him fail would say he can't do. He can. Tyler Warren, to his point about the football God's blessing us, he's unbelievable. He had his ankle tape, too. I have no idea what he's got going on, but he's not going on the field with an ankle tape like that if there isn't something real. So I assume he's pretty banged up.
Starting point is 02:38:24 He had a couple huge, huge. He had a fourth down, obviously, for us earlier. That one in overtime puts us in position to kick the field goal if we want to to win this. Instead, Jonathan Taylor says, let me just go ahead and pull him away. and then I'll do my dance all over Germany. In the Colts for the home team, there was an interesting situation with Cleat Blakman and coin toss at overtime, but it felt like it was a home game too.
Starting point is 02:38:43 Bjorn Werner was on the anvil beforehand stood up the place, one crazy. The guy who sings da, what's his name? Scooter. Scooter performed his song. Everybody was dancing. DeFlo was not performing.
Starting point is 02:38:59 He was probably there if I had to guess. Eddra and James Dallas Clark were doing a bunch of stuff. Kalin built a parking lot or a pick a park I mean I'm so sorry over there it's like the Colts Carly Ursay goes and buys around for everybody that was at the Colts home base bar and then we actually got inside information from source in Germany that maybe were the DJ for a couple different events and the DJ said to us that Carly Ursey walked in okay I don't think she was supposed to plan to be there asked the DJ hey how do you say let's fucking go in German DJ tells her, and then she says that to the crowd, place goes absolutely crazy.
Starting point is 02:39:37 She does it, how you doing, maybe buys a round and then leave. So it's like Carly, Kalin, the Colts tried to embrace Germany, I think as much as possible. And I think Germany was embracing them back, especially with our history with Bjorn, former first round pick, and obviously everything he's done for the game over there. And then we put on a show for him. It was like home run situation for a Colts home game in Germany. And I was really proud of the entire franchise and organization. to be clear. It took a total team effort, you know, going overseas. There's always different
Starting point is 02:40:07 challenges you've got to deal with. As a team, we, coaches always say, hey, play the whole 60 minutes. We've seen teams around the league, lose, leagues, Jaguars, Giants, whoever it is, in that fourth quarter. So for us to close the game out, Bagley making a kick, Badgely making a kick after he missed a couple, which was a big time kick. We needed it. And defense getting a stopping OT and the offense going down and getting it done. And then obviously, Saus Gardner, you trade, first-round picks, that's going to be a conversation. A lot of eyes are going to be on him. I can't imagine what he was trying to deal with, learn the playbook, traveling, doing all the different things. So I'll give him a pass kind of on this performance, even though he had a
Starting point is 02:40:45 good performance, but I don't think it was up to his standard. So I'm excited to see where we're going with this full, you know, kind of this whole new team and new generation with Daniel Jones. And in the celebration. We've got to talk about the celebration of Camp Biner. Because this, I think this was a two Americas type of situation. Oh, whoa. No. I know. with the coach's tweet and we talk about hey you never want to be the main character on black Twitter the coach's Twitter handle was definitely
Starting point is 02:41:10 the main character on Sunday after the Cam Biden team if we can pull that tweet up we're looking okay yeah so Coach Cam Biden you know so Drew Hill you know who Drew Hill is you know the big time R&B group I'm 38 years old so I know 30 yeah
Starting point is 02:41:26 so they kind of song song exactly he was lead singer but their you know main kind of move, once you pull the clip up, we'll see what that is, but it became more popular than the last, I'll say probably a year or so on Twitter, in a group of Twitter, black Twitter, parents have started to punish their kids with Drew Hills. Like, hey, give me 10 Drew Hills. Give me 20 Drew Hills, and obviously kids have been pissed off. So Cambina pulled it out, and then we'll have the post right here with the... Do we have the Colts Post or just the dance? Yeah, yeah, here's the,
Starting point is 02:41:59 is this the Colts Post that he was talking about? This is the dance. Can we should? show the dance first we'll show the dance so here's the dance and then here's the the so great execution by the boys great you know they are all on the same page and then with the tweet though the tweet had uh the coats were uh getting jiggy with it so i don't know if they thought that was a big willy performance and then once you go down in the comments you'll see a lot of hey all right we know who's running the coach account we know what's going on here so uh no just be up, be on the same page. How many views on that getting jiggy with it?
Starting point is 02:42:36 That got into black Twitter? It got in a million. He's got to be sure, right? Be sure before you go public with it, right? Got jiggy with it. Na, nah, nah, na, na, nah. I'm going to see how many views this one got.
Starting point is 02:42:50 Scroll down, scroll down. Okay, yeah, a lot of people saw that. A lot of quotes. A lot of quotes. Yeah, so it's one of those moments. But great vibes. Huge win by the Colts over there in Not German.
Starting point is 02:43:02 Well, to be clear, they did get jiggy with it. They did. Yeah, still a fact. No, no. Still a fact. That's what's being said in the social media department. We weren't saying it was Will Smith. We were just saying that they were, as you can see, kind of getting a jiggy.
Starting point is 02:43:18 Look at 32. He's getting jiggy with it right there. Are they not getting jiggy? So you're telling me that's not getting jiggy? Okay. I thought we're trying to get jiggy with it. Oh, I love it. The internet's the greatest.
Starting point is 02:43:31 It's the best. Let's go to another overreaction tweet show. This one's from TR at Chosen Few 54, and we appreciate you being great at whatever you do. Hashtag I don't want to overreact, but the bills are dead. Move us to Canada and get over with. I'd rather shut my balls in a car door than ever watched
Starting point is 02:43:47 where I had to witness on Sunday again. Turn down a new stadium and put the Buffalo statues out of their misery already. This guy wants them to kill the statues that aren't tall enough. Just get them away from everything. Bill's obviously losing the dolphins. Their fans are not happy about it. Remember, not all ass teams are ass all. the time. And on that note, every
Starting point is 02:44:03 once in a while, really good teams are going to play like ass, which I think is what happened on this particular field down in South Florida. Obviously, Dolphins fans are very excited. Gumpie's got a hoodie, he's got a hat. I mean, he's got the whole thing on this victory Monday. They were celebrating in the locker room. They love McDaniels. This comes after
Starting point is 02:44:19 they fire Greer, so maybe a special Sunday for Miami. And on that note, Bill's fans, you can't give up that quick. Can't give up that quick. Now, there's some trends that are happening to this Bill's defense that I think are alarming for Bill's fans if you want to win a Super Bowl. Hembo sent us a stat. They're not stopping to run at all against good running backs. Derek Henry goes crazy. Bejan Robinson goes crazy. A. Chan goes crazy against the
Starting point is 02:44:43 Buffalo Bill's rush defense. So they certainly have reason to be, you know, a little bit alarmed. But on that note, let's not be putting our balls in a car door. Okay, let's not be smashing any balls and doors at this move. Yeah, they're a fickle bunch. I think the reason is because they are looking ahead. The bill's schedule is very, very tough. They got the Bucks at home. Tough game, especially Bucks coming off a loss. At Houston in prime time,
Starting point is 02:45:08 at Steelers, Bengals, December 7th, which... So you're saying a lot of things I'm hearing not the same. Yeah, yeah, true, true. Two of those three so far, not great. But now the Bengals in December 7th, with what we heard today, that's Joe Burrow.
Starting point is 02:45:24 If he comes back, at New England, Brown, Okay. And then the Eagles. So just with that race, like they do... I'm a Bill's fan. I'm pretty excited. I'm pretty excited for what we got down the stretch here. I did keep going to DeBone's Twitter to see how Bill's Mafia was feeling yesterday. And there was just nothing there. It was interesting.
Starting point is 02:45:44 Hard to tweet when you're losing. Well, maybe, you know, he can't be a front runner. Yeah, true. DeBone, I understand. He's national champion football player. Yeah, he knows. He's natural. They got the Eagles still. They got the Bucke still. They got New England still. Kincke got hurt again.
Starting point is 02:45:58 into these their best All right so let's say those are three losses besides go Yeah and then Joe Joe Borough Bengals I think we just kind of have to wait and see I guess They're what a game and a half behind the past right now They really can't afford and I think the
Starting point is 02:46:12 Pats I mean you know Whatever you want to However you want to look at And we talked about how Every team in the NFL is good But in terms of like Strength the schedule I think they have the easiest Remaining schedule the Pats do
Starting point is 02:46:23 So it's like can you even Can you even afford to lose three games? Do we think I think the bills can win a Super Bowl this year. No. I don't think anybody... Put that Hemposted up again about the rush yards? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:46:34 That is going to be tough to win the Super Bowl. B.A. was talking about weeks ago with the run. They're 31st in rushing. Like, it's not just those three. Yeah, and even Josh Allen's still in the MVP. Sorry, 30 first against the run. But, like, if you look at the offense as a whole, like that offense isn't scared anybody outside of James Cook.
Starting point is 02:46:50 Guys couldn't get open yesterday at all. Hey, I saw a lot of sick flexing out of Miami. A guy got a pick, I think, grill. grill right in the camera. Them celebrating afterwards, I'm like, good for my good for my hand. I'm fun. This is the experience you're supposed to have as a professional football player.
Starting point is 02:47:08 Yeah, I like that you're getting to have this. Now, are they potentially thinking, who knows, when this is coming again? We have no idea. Everybody, unload the clip on shit we've wanted to do. Okay? Unload. Get the laundry baskets, fucking get the noise, get the music. It's the first for me. Yeah, and get the stage ready for coach. We need a spin of Rudy. Fucking hit the worm as well, sir.
Starting point is 02:47:27 We need fucking coach standing on a riser. We need everything. We don't know when this is happening again. We need all the speeches. We need all the chance. Let's get the cigars in this motherfucker. This is football. This is what it's supposed to be here, boys.
Starting point is 02:47:41 This is what it's supposed to be. Do all coaches stand on stuff when they talk to the theater? At his own little stage, it looks like. They travel with that thing? It looks like its own stage. It was a home game. The world is a stage. And McDaniel certainly taking advantage of it.
Starting point is 02:47:53 Yeah, he just wants to be able to see everybody in the back. You know, that's just got the next overreaction, shall we? from the Buffalo Bills slamming their balls in car doors to Tyler Stevenson. Hashtag I don't want to overreacts. But whoever that dipshit that said KOC and JJ 9 were going to run the NFC North needs to be held accountable. This team will go absolutely nowhere with this alter ego loser QB. Round of applause to KC and KOC on this move. I miss Donald.
Starting point is 02:48:18 A lot of Vikings fans not happy about 9? Yeah, people are sick of the 9 thing. I think if he would have just said, I'm J.J. McCarthy the whole time, no big deal. hey, our young quarterback had a little bit of a rough game. But, I mean, the alter ego sucks. I think that's the problem. What do you mean? This guy's new to the NFL.
Starting point is 02:48:35 He's your first real snaps. He's a rookie. Yeah, but like you said, I mean, I think. Well, he's not, but you get it. Right. And you can, you know, we've seen it with Josh Allen. Like, you can get a little bit more accurate, you know, while you're in the league. 20 of 42 ain't going to cut it.
Starting point is 02:48:49 And some of these interceptions that he was throwing. Petty Manning through 20 interceptions. Do you think JJ McCarthy's Peyton Manning? Just early. Just early on. We don't have to do a whole. Just yes or no. Do you think Jay McCarthy is Peyton Manning?
Starting point is 02:49:04 Personally, I don't. I don't know if Peyton was ever saying 18. Call me 18. Exactly. I mean, maybe. Sure. Don't fucking call me Peyton. I'm 18 on the field.
Starting point is 02:49:15 People also are not happy about the nine thing because Matt Stafford. People are like, oh, this guy thinks he's the number of quarterback, Matt's staff. Number nine, and soccer's a huge deal, too. I mean, there's a lot of, like, nine indicators. I saw a lot of replies on the post locker room, the video, when he was, you know. Oh, yeah. Well, not just that. Like, he threw one, he threw one good pass in the, in the first quarter.
Starting point is 02:49:42 And he's walking down the field, like, he just won the fucking game. He got an unflappable conference. He does. He's a little. You got to be confident. So we can say whatever we want about him. Hold on. Let's get into this.
Starting point is 02:49:51 You guys. You guys seem to me they are. Still early. But on that note, JJ, I believe, buddy. I believe in the JJ. I believe in JJ. Everybody says he's the guy mentally. It's like we'll see off-season.
Starting point is 02:50:04 He hasn't had like a career, an NFL career, really, opportunity. This is his rookie season. He's in there for the first time. So he might have some ass throws, like off by 10 yards. With guys, I need to work a lot of accuracy and all that stuff, which he certainly does. But from everything we know about him, he'll take ownership of that and hopefully get better. A lot of what I was seeing, too, was, oh, boy, J.J. McCarthy is going to turn
Starting point is 02:50:28 Justin Jefferson into Stefan Diggs when he was in Minnesota. And then KFC won't let that happen. Somebody's going to be throwing a ball to Justin Jefferson. Yeah, Drake May, it sounds like. Somebody is going to be... Holy shit. No, he went through the bills. You better hope not.
Starting point is 02:50:46 You better hope not. Especially with Brain and Bean and Bean looking into Jalen Waddle allegedly during the trade deal. Yeah, he was going to go to the bills because they were the kings of the AFC East, but that's over and now this year everyone sees what's happening you want to play for Mike
Starting point is 02:51:02 Rable and get Drake made? Don't you have a lot of money too up there? We have the most money by a wide margin over the next few years. I'm most smart. They got a lot of picks. I mean they... I don't know how we let this happen as a league. And I don't know what it is but
Starting point is 02:51:18 the number three is now mine used to be four but now the number three is my new favorite number because if you just look at you know just the importance of it, Jason date him. Jalen Brown and Drake May, all the number three overall pick. I mean, it's just one of those things where they just fall into your lap sometimes.
Starting point is 02:51:34 Other people make decisions. You guys say, thank you. Exactly. The next overreaction, this is what life is now. We've been trying to give warnings. This is from at NFL opinions. Hashtack, I don't want to ever react, but the jets are
Starting point is 02:51:50 back. We let the stars walk and instantly become better. Have fun with slips, Gardner. That's good. Sorry about it. It was a two point play. Yeah, and a guy got a good get off.
Starting point is 02:52:02 He was trying to jump and he knew it was going to be a quick play. It was worth two, wasn't worth six. Everybody thinks that's a touchdown. This is a two-point conversion rate here. Now, was it pretty important. Certainly. Certainly, it was fourth quarter. He's one-on-one out there against their guy, too.
Starting point is 02:52:13 So obviously, it's what you bring Sauce Gardner in her. It's a German grass. Yeah. It's a German grass. He's used to poopy MetLife. And he got tripped up, too. I don't like the Drake Lennon and kicked his feet while he was running there. It was a little cheating in there.
Starting point is 02:52:24 I like sauce got his hands on the ball it felt like throughout this throughout the game got more comfortable everybody kind of got more comfortable they're getting live reps like hey this is what we're going to do in this moment this is what we're going to do in this moment because I said it felt like through the game
Starting point is 02:52:37 like sauce and a defense were figuring it out that's really what it felt like and if you think about when he got there when he got cleared from concussion protocol they had to travel to Germany what's that like is there a walkthrough there hasn't really been much for sauce to kind of get involved so I think real reps were really all they
Starting point is 02:52:54 had. And at the beginning, it looked like there was a disconnect, and then it looked better. Him getting cooked there for the two-point conversion certainly sucks. Trey kicked his feet, so kind of cheating there. But I think he's a massive, and I think he had a great game. Yeah. So legitimate. For what he was dealing with, once again, I think to sauce's standard, I don't think it's up to his standard, but he was dealing with a lot.
Starting point is 02:53:13 I kind of give it a wash. Literally, if you're watching the game, you can see a lot of times, whoever it was Kenny Moore or Cam, whoever you communicate with him almost to the last second to make sure he's doing. when we talked about Luan Aroma and all the moving parts in his defense. So trying to learn and playing that. Some people were trying to say the Drake London touchdown was on him. He was it.
Starting point is 02:53:31 We'll maybe talk about that later in the week. But great play design. He made a great play when he dove him, got that PVU, which set up. But those are the plays for Sauce throughout his career that you got to make. You got to make those good plays into great plays. You got to have ball production, especially when an organization is giving up to first-round picks. But on the other side, next week, all pro moon. should be coming back.
Starting point is 02:53:53 So seeing those two corners on the outside with Kenny Moore, Camp, on him, Nick Cross, like we got, we got pieces back there. Yeah, we're going to win through, Boy, Jay, it's good news. And on the other half of that tweet, does feel like the Jets are certainly creating something special over there and Glenn.
Starting point is 02:54:07 To Kirk Herbstre's point, though, played the Browns and the Bengals. Yep. Okay, played the Browns and the Bengals, which got to win games. That's not your fault. But on that note, I love that they're honoring your friend, legit.
Starting point is 02:54:17 Oh, yeah, they honor Nick Bigg, yeah. Oh, yeah. He definitely is, I mean, this was awesome. They made some really sweet shirts and hats too for him. Yeah, his family was there. I mean, I'm sure it was awesome in the stadium for this. But yeah, they believe me, Nick is, you should have seen
Starting point is 02:54:32 the police presence at his funeral. All the biker cops, there's like 40 biker cops leading us everywhere. They came out in the jet security. Everyone there, they loved that dude. So it was awesome. It feels like and that's Ohio State legend there, right? What's his name? Rucker. Rucker. Great mustache on him.
Starting point is 02:54:48 Rucker. Yeah, Rucker at the tight end with a great mustache. Fourth year out of Ohio State wears the Mangold jersey on the way in. But it does feel like he's a part of it, you know? And that's cool. And I think that's good baby-faced for the Jets from outside in. Like, I like Nick Mangold. So the fact is your honor of Nick Mangold and continuing to do that, like,
Starting point is 02:55:04 we like that. And then Aaron Glenn and them having success. Good for you guys over there at the Jets. Oh, yeah. You deserve it, man. You deserve. Let's go. The next overreaction is from Casey Jones. Hey, Casey K Jones 14. Hashtag I don't want to overreact. But it's time for B.A. to leave the Pat McAfee. Whoa. And get
Starting point is 02:55:20 back to call and place for the bucks. This is offense one from top of the league with an MVP QB to complete shite in a matter of weeks. And that's no BS. We need B.A. Injuries or not, it's shite. All right. Well, ask B.A. if he wants to get back on the headset. I think towards the end of his career, he wasn't looking to do that. But I do think with Baker Mayfield, expectations are for their offense to be great right now.
Starting point is 02:55:43 Absolutely. And this is the first year play caller for Baker. So the continuity thing. And then at this point in the season, you know, defense has wanted to take away some of the things. things that you do great. On top of that, you're missing a bunch of wide receivers. America and Boca is going to be your number one target weekend and week out. So defenses are going to key in on them. But coming into that game, Baker Mayfield
Starting point is 02:56:01 was averaging 20 completions of 200 yards over a three-game span after that MVP start to the season. So I understand what he's saying. Getting Bucky Irvin back will be a big addition for this office as well. I think that Buck's office will be okay down the street. We love Tampa. Let's go to the next overreaction. It's from Lonely, 1993. It's going to be okay at Gordy Topee.
Starting point is 02:56:21 Hushag I don't want to overreact, but... While y'all continue to yap about Drake May MVP, Chief Kingdom or Colts winning a Super Bowl, the real MVP contenders are in the Midwest. Da Bears, not only have the coach of the year, but MVP Caleb Williams. This is our year. Caleb looked like he was running 40 miles an hour around that edge
Starting point is 02:56:39 to win that game. I mean, that was spectacular. This is the Caleb Williams shit from college that you wondered, is he going to be able to do this in the NFL when everybody's fast? Yeah, in November to win a game in the fourth quarter. he gets the edge in a huge way. What a win for the Bears. And it was chatted about already,
Starting point is 02:56:57 but the Bears do a lot of coming back, too. So I think the resolve and the grit of that team are certainly settling in. And every time we see the locker room afterwards, they're a real deal. Hey, the Bears are the real deal. And Ben Johnson is too, AJ. Yeah, they are.
Starting point is 02:57:10 And I mean, I think if you are a Bears fan, you got to be most excited. Yeah, they didn't, a Bears' offense didn't do a whole lot. And then, what, six, seven minutes ago in the fourth quarter? And they absolutely come alive. And Caleb, he had a huge, what, I think 90-some-yard drive
Starting point is 02:57:21 to lead him back. Like, when it matters, it seems like Caleb absolutely steps up. Good for the Bears. Yeah. Back-to-back games. Caleb, his offense, I believe you all four game winning drives this season. And, yeah, to your point, he looks fast as shit. Fast as shit. That edge was outrageous because you just assume it's terrible grass as well.
Starting point is 02:57:39 You assume that the field is terrible. So the ability to get out there, make it throws. And the locker room, can't stress this enough. The locker room is awesome in Chicago. They like each other. It is very evident that they like. like each other. Maybe they go on a run in this NFC North and do their thing. Let's go to the next overreaction show is from BM at Bull Data.
Starting point is 02:57:59 Hashtack, I don't want to react, but the Ravens are going to the Super Bowl for real this time. And after yesterday, I can't wait to watch Old Man Rogers and the Steelers' hopes and dreams burn to ash while we slow roast them over the fire we made with Mr. Steve's ping pong tables. Love this. Now listen, Buda and the entire Baltimore Ravens fan, Stavi have to be. beginning of the season it was tough for Ravens fans oh my God
Starting point is 02:58:25 their defense was the worst in the league people were pounding them the offense couldn't do anything we're supposed to be good we're one in five what the fuck sports books were like just wait just wait
Starting point is 02:58:33 just wait and now we're at the point this Raven seems going to win the AFC North and the Ravens are probably going to go on a run in the playoffs debut did we expect this from the amount of talent on the team
Starting point is 02:58:43 what are your thoughts we expected Ravens to be an absolute wagon coming into the season but honestly at this point in the season I would not put them in a Super Bowl contender I'll put them right in the bucket with the Buffalo Beals. Unbelievable quarterbacks, MVP
Starting point is 02:58:59 talents, but just what the team has done around them up until this point I don't see them really being real down the stretch and that can change when you have that type of talent and you have what I think good coaches on both sidelines that can definitely change but if I had to pick right now if I had the only pick like say five teams that could
Starting point is 02:59:15 realistically win the Super Bowl this season the Baltimore Ravens wouldn't be on that top five. You can make the argument that the biggest loss for any team this year has been Madibouquet for Baltimore. Without him in the middle, their defense's isn't the same. Let alone run stop,
Starting point is 02:59:31 you know, and, you know, pass rush and stuff. He's like one of their leaders on that defense with Rochuan Smith and Kyle Hamilton. So without him is one thing, but, you know, they're going to be just fine. Still the odds on favor to win the AFC North have been for a while. That's only growing. And yeah,
Starting point is 02:59:47 we shall see if they're able to work it out. Let's go to the next overreaction is from ATL Josh had Jay Crackin' 24. Hashtack, I don't want to overreacts, but the Falcons are dead. Panics is trash. Rahim is clueless. And clearly Arthur Blank's kids need to take over for them to ever be successful. A mildly competent coach and Matt Ryan out of retirement would have this team in a playoffs.
Starting point is 03:00:07 AJ, your thoughts? I don't know if I fully agree with this overreaction. I mean, the Falcons are one of those teams, too. They ride the roller coaster, I feel like they absolutely could have won. But, you know, I guess teams, until you get over that hump and to prove that you are, are like in the next tier. Those are the games you win, I think. The Falcons obviously let this one slip away.
Starting point is 03:00:26 Nine. Yeah, they were never going to win that game. Okay, they were never going to win that game out there. The Colts were going to win that one the entire time. But I will say this, Falcons are playing good. Like, Falcons were playing very good. I mean, that defense was everywhere. Their defense is relentless.
Starting point is 03:00:40 Yeah. Their defense, they, I don't know how many, sacks, they got a ton of sacks and tons of pressure. Like, they can obviously stop in the run is another issue. Guys bleeding from his mouth. Guys bleeding from his mouth. quarterback. You know, obviously, Jonathan Taylor runs for 250, so that kind of goes against
Starting point is 03:00:53 everything about saying they have a good defense. This is so great. But Daniel Jones, Moth, is bleeding because he was getting hit. I mean, the Atlanta Falcons played good football, I thought, in the morning, which is why I was so excited about the win. I'm like, we caught the Atlanta Falcons on a day where they were playing very well. Like, they were playing very... Offensively, I thought,
Starting point is 03:01:09 obviously, you have some changes you have to make. Pennix made a couple good throws. Missed a couple that weren't good. Some bad decisions took place. But I thought the Falcons were playing good, so whenever we get to win, I'm, like, excited about it. And then all anybody said was it was the Falcons. It was the Falcons. It's like it's a fucking NFL team. It's a good team. Yeah.
Starting point is 03:01:24 It's an NFL team. They are a good team. I think the Colts are going to the Colts. That's a game that maybe in the past they lose, don't you think? A game like that, when you're not, you don't know how to win, you're not used to winning. Those are the games you let slip away. And you think about after the season, all what could have been. No, the Colts figured it out and they got to win. And you get to have a nice fun, long, playing ride home, obviously.
Starting point is 03:01:44 Oh, that had to be so much better than a fucking Falbant. Every coach and player just, you know, no doubt. Can you imagine every coach and player just so happy they won? Like, oh, yeah. Well, we flip back from London after a loss. I was on about 170 milligrams because I had a meat all this stuff. But, yeah, it was an interesting vibe on the way back. I didn't know we're going through the actual airport.
Starting point is 03:02:03 We're going through Heathrow? What? Can't go through Heathrow. They got actual scanners there, right? Yeah. Oh, no. I've seen locked up a rod. Got to make these disappear.
Starting point is 03:02:14 All right. Just got to eat them all. I'm going to throw them away. Well, there's a cop. literally sitting right next to the trash can up there in front of the bus all right viny you want to help me here what do you need to do i need to make all these disappear by when how far's the airport we're like five minutes out we got five minutes to make this disappear jesus i don't know bud all right fuck it gone as soon as we get there off the bus right in the check-in
Starting point is 03:02:47 a long line to get our bags through there and just every moment that passes I'm just starting to take off to a different altitude and Vinutari's like I got you buddy I'll get you in a plane thank you boarding pass yeah so then we go through the thing my bag obviously gets selected
Starting point is 03:03:02 okay they check my bag so I have to go wait around the thing Vinny's like I'll wait with you thank you sir fucking gone eyes have no idea what my eyes look like everybody sees it in my eyes every day I think so you know could be anything was so loaded with excuses I'm tired super tired we just play a full football game.
Starting point is 03:03:18 Jetland. Yeah. Time changed. The whole thing. I was going through it all, especially in that moment, you're going through everything. And my immediate thought is,
Starting point is 03:03:26 oh, no, I left some in the bag somewhere. There's some in that bag somewhere. I ate a lot, though. I don't know, but maybe there's some in that bag. They get through, it turns out it was just like toothpaste
Starting point is 03:03:35 or something. Like, you can't have this. I'm like, yeah, I know. You want me to eat it? So then I kind of go back, go all the way to our gate. I don't have a boarding pass
Starting point is 03:03:45 somewhere in the process. I lost my. boarding pass, so I have no idea where that is. They have to print out another one at the thing, so I'm standing at the thing. Everybody of the Indianapolis Colts is boarding the fucking plane. I'm just standing there. After a loss, too. That's a much
Starting point is 03:03:59 different situation after a loss. Then you see Pat over there, too? Oh, shit. What happened? I'm not getting arrested. Yeah. If you win, it's funny, if you win, it's funny and they're fist bumping yourself, you lose. I just head down. Everyone just like, oh, yeah. And I think there's starting to be some buzz about what was possibly taking place.
Starting point is 03:04:15 Shout to Vinetary. You never left me. Terry sat over there. He was making fun of me while everybody else was making fun. This guy lost his boarded pass. I'm like, then he shut the fuck out. I could be trying to get some gum over here or something like that. He goes,
Starting point is 03:04:26 everybody kind of sees it. So it was a whole scene for us. And then on the plane, obviously, we just lost. So it's just like, you leave second because you lost in the international game. And also it's a long-ass flight back. And it's like the next week's fucked
Starting point is 03:04:38 because everything's scheduled. It's just winning that game has to be so much better. I've never experienced it, but it has to be so much better. A rookie year. over to London and played the bucks and we won. And yeah, it was a fun rock. That would have been a great play.
Starting point is 03:04:53 Oh, yeah, for sure. But on that note, I'm traveling and shit. Shout out to TSA. And all the people that's been showing up because there's been a shit showing these airports. People have to be showing up, not getting paid and shit, you know, with the government shutdown and all that. So shout out to them doing, you know, doing their best.
Starting point is 03:05:08 Absolutely. And I believe, right, we had some real progress in that entire world over the last 24 hours. That's good news. Hopefully that's within the next couple of days. Yeah, it's crazy to think about what is all dependent upon stuff. Especially this time of year, like Thanksgiving right around the corner. And also how dangerous at all this.
Starting point is 03:05:25 Legit. You know. Yeah, that's yeah. When the pilot comes on and say, hey, we got to wait because air traffic control, you know, they're cutting down 20% of all right. It's like, all right. Okay. So are we just eyeballing this thing?
Starting point is 03:05:38 So are we able to land? Yeah, you are. Okay. All right. Sounds good. Yeah, shout to everybody giving her time for the good of society. Wild time. there is going to be a payback on the back end
Starting point is 03:05:47 if what I read is accurate. So, you know, do the right thing. Hopefully you get rewarded in the end. But even if you don't, doing the right thing, is the right thing to do. Hell yeah. Last overreaction. This is from Boltz fan, Roka 92. Hashtack, I don't want to overreact. But Justin Herbert is the MVP.
Starting point is 03:06:04 No other quarterback could survive behind a line built from other team's scrap piles like the Chargers and keep getting a W. So we saw the PFF ranks, brother. We know what you're saying. and Herbert is an incredible, incredible quarterback to lead a team that has this particular problem. He's very tough and he doesn't say anything negative about anything. Super positive, always on to the next one.
Starting point is 03:06:27 Incredibly tough, incredibly athletic, incredibly talented. Chargers get a huge win on Sunday night football, and I'm a believer in Harbaugh football, and I'm a believer in this Chargers team. Can they win a Super Bowl? 38 out of 38 at tackle? Absolutely not. I don't think so.
Starting point is 03:06:44 he out for the year? I think so. And Slater's out. Slater's out for sure. Yeah. I don't know Zion Johnson. It's going to be tough. We always look at AQ's trenches and those teams, those are ones that usually go. He got sacked five times last thing. Well, Deculis is out there getting shit-talked before the game even starts by a graphics. What do you think he's going to do? Hey, boys, way to get a win over there. They said it was impossible without bad you guys. Yeah. That's a PFF said. Not us. We were believers. Pick the Chargers, I believe. All right. We're going to get out of here. tomorrow we'll be live from Paris Island historic day tomorrow big time show we're going to be
Starting point is 03:07:17 enjoying the opportunity to honor and thank our country's veterans who have signed a line to say we'll go do it if it has to happen we'll be the ones oh you badass individuals we can't thank them enough we'll try to tomorrow be a friend tell the friend something nice it might change your life we're in this thing together team on me team on three good luck tonight boys packers eagles take it home one two three team goodbye
