Hello, beautiful people.
Welcome to the Hall of Fame faceoff here at Radio Row in beautiful San Francisco, California,
as we celebrate the hell out of Super Bowl 60.
And last night's debut class of next year's Hall of Fame class.
There's two first balladers, two living young legends.
And today they'll be competing in a trivia contest called the Hall of Fame Face Off.
Now, there will be $25,000 donated by us to the winning team's youth football program.
of choosing and the pro football Hall of Fame
will be doing the same. It'll be difficult
quiz questions for these four
goldjacketers and we're going to find
out who has the football brain alongside
the football acumen to really represent
that bust over in Canton. Now obviously
it's not just me. We got A.J. Hawk
Hall of Fame, no, I'm here. Okay, we got Darius
J. Butler. We got the toxic table
with an AQ Shipley sandwich
happening, boys, good to see you. And we got one half
of the hammer.
Cowboys AP Town. Now, Tone, I'll start with you.
whenever it comes to, you know, odds of things here.
I know we haven't debuted who the teams are.
The teams will be split into two teams of two.
Trivia questions.
How do you feel about this particular class and maybe their quizzing ability?
Oh, you're off.
Your microphone's off.
Yeah, your mic's off.
Yep, you're still off.
Okay, Ty, what do you think tone would have to say
about what maybe the odds would be on who out of the Hall of Fame class?
I think he'd probably say, you know, and again, this is just Tony,
but I think he's probably lean in whatever direction, Drew Brees,
whatever team that's on, you know, cerebral quarterback,
and that's not his fault, but I think that's what most people would say,
hey, he's got to know everything, so I'd give a slight advantage to his team.
In A.J. Hawk, Lou Keekeley, known as Super Genius.
Yeah.
I mean, you know, he's a literal super genius.
That's why, you know, he puts that Superman cape on, baby.
And he's the second youngest Hall of Famer in the history of the game,
whenever he ends up going in there.
Is that going to bode well for trivia?
Are super genius football people always good at trivia, I want?
Yeah, I think Super Genius football people are super genius.
at pretty much everything, especially Luke.
He's from Cincinnati, Ohio.
So, yeah, he's going to probably win this thing.
Okay, well, it's not going to twist it.
Okay, Adam Venetary also is going to be a part of this.
And obviously, Larry Fitzgerald, D-Buts, obviously we're all kind of experiencing our own voyage and journey.
Absolutely.
And we're running our own races out here.
Absolutely.
And we're learning a lot of things about the local products, I think.
We've been taking care of out here.
And some people are at altitude.
Some people have gone under cow poop to do what they've got to do.
Seems like we're having a blast out here in San Francisco.
Great time.
Can't wait for the day and see how this turns out.
Ladies and gentlemen, there's now time to meet our teams.
And although you met them last night as they were introduced into football immortality over there in Canton, Ohio.
Let's meet our first squad.
Ladies and gentlemen, the bronze bus, which is Luke Kinkley and first ballot hall of favor, Drew B.
Sir, good to see you guys.
Thank you for coming.
Good luck.
Thank you so much.
This microphone will be the one you'll be speaking into, boys.
Oh, all right.
Sir, pleasure.
I don't know if they're as locked in in the trivia as they are in the politicking with the boys.
No.
I will say, boys, you look fantastic.
Here's the mic.
You don't have to huddle around.
I think it will pick it up.
But if you could be in the area, I think it'll make us all of our lives better.
Congratulations, boys.
Honestly, Drew, let's talk about it.
First Ballot Hall of Famer.
A lot of chatter about that this year, obviously, and throughout the history.
Whenever the league and everybody that covers it says, you know what,
you deserve to be in that prestigious air of first ballot hall of fame.
How emotional was it?
How do you kind of feel now one day after being announced to the world?
Honestly, I think it's still pretty surreal.
I think moment by moment it's becoming a reality.
You know, it started with the knock.
That was Dan Fouts about three weeks ago.
And then honestly, some of the best moments were yesterday
when we were able to just be together in the room prior to going out on stage,
just talking a lot about the years of competition and a lot of the reflection.
Yeah, your draft class almost again.
Here we are.
And now this one just happens to be the greatest of all the time.
How's your trivia ability?
You think you're going to be ass or good, Drew?
Well, finally, I get a chance to be on this.
as teams, so I'm all about it.
Let's go NFC South football on that
note. Luke Keeckley, congratulations.
Second youngest player.
Oh, yeah. Wow.
Come on now, Luke. We love
that. Didn't have the longest career, obviously,
but what you did on the field was spectacular.
Always have been, always will be.
Whenever it comes to trivia, what do you think
is your kind? Are you good at trivia? Because we all
just assume you are because you're super smart.
I don't know what the topics are going to be.
Football, Super Bowl. Football. We got Drew on my team.
We got the boys back here. Maybe we can phone a friend,
hopefully be in good shape. Okay, so he does know
He does know the lifelines.
There is a phone affront.
That's part of the Boston College.
I don't know about the blog.
We've got to figure that part out.
Chat, okay, there'll be three lifelines.
There will be a surprise phone of friend of the program.
Could be anybody that featured on our show that is not here.
Could it be Dan Rolovsky?
Hell no.
Absolutely not.
It would be JJ.
Why?
We don't know who it is.
It will be somebody that is in our world, and you can certainly use that.
The boys will obviously be of help for one of the last.
lifelines and then you can ask the chat.
And we are chat, we think, do, do no ball pretty good, but also there's a lot of people
in there just trying to, you know.
Yeah, yeah, you're trying to get you.
Now, you guys won't be the only team participating.
Obviously, your draft class was not completed just yet.
Ladies and gentlemen, competing against the bronze bus will be the gold jacket.
Sorry, they got a better name.
We can toss that thing.
Larry Fitzgerald.
And Adam's a big deal here, boys.
A lot of Hall of Famers here.
That's Hall of Famers here.
Yes.
A-Q just got his ass taken out.
Uh-oh.
Hey, good luck.
I hope you win.
I don't want them to win.
Go get him, Vinny.
Come on, Ben.
Sorry.
They don't have ears in.
They can't hear it.
Bye, son.
Congratulations, Fitz.
First ballot.
What an insane thing.
Obviously, at Pitt, you're amazing.
The people love you there.
Arizona, you would have been able to play forever,
it feels like spearing a-
Get in the pit.
You know, he had to go to the evil empire.
He couldn't get in.
I respect that.
Yeah, he certainly did.
You should see what he's been doing
the last couple of days.
Yeah.
For sure.
That's a better education
than West Virginia.
Whoa.
What's the Hall of Fame?
It's a Hall of Fame.
It's a Hall of Fame.
There's no reason.
We don't know what this happened.
Congratulations.
As I asked Drew,
and obviously you're all Hall of Famers.
You're going to be remembered forever.
We all thought Vinny should have been a first ballot.
It feels like there was potentially like,
well, kicker can't be a first ballot.
You, though, I feel like there's a lot of conversation going in.
Like, Larry deserves it.
Larry deserves it.
How's it?
it been hearing like the football world sing your praises because normally you don't get the flowers
and i feel like this is a good moment for you it's been it's been amazing um i think the part that i've
enjoyed the most is getting to know these guys a little bit more intimately and um you know
last night on stage when you were announced and all those hall of famers coming up i think the
gravity of it really hits you at that point but um you know i never was one to kind of like
put a lot of stock in what other people said you know i was very comfortable what i was able to accomplish
and but i'm glad uh you know this all worked out how is a golf game golf game is okay it's
solid, not where it needs to be, but it'd be better for ACC.
Your Hall of Fame, brother, congratulations. And ladies and gentlemen,
another kicker has made it into Canaan, Ohio. Vinatary, I'm so happy for you, man.
Congratulations. What was it like getting the heads up that you're going to go into the Hall of Fame?
I know you, obviously, didn't want to make it bigger than it was, a lot of it.
All of us were excited to see you be a first ballot kicker in the Hall of Famer.
And we know that the voting now is obviously run by certain things.
seemed like that was never possible.
Now the next best thing is you remembered forever
as being the goat, brother.
How does it feel?
And has this been cool for you?
It's been unbelievable.
You know, sitting back a year
and watching the process go,
doesn't dumb it down whatsoever.
I'm just honestly being in this class
with these gentlemen, it's super special.
And I tell you what,
I'm still kind of a little bit excited,
a little bit nervous, you know,
can't believe it actually happened.
But yeah, that knock on the door
a couple weeks ago.
go was pretty wild.
Something I'll remember forever, pretty emotional.
And then the next hardest part is not telling anybody for the next three weeks and
keeping it a secret.
So, yeah, now we're going to be out here telling everybody and enjoying our time.
How are you at trivia?
I don't know.
It depends on what we're talking about.
We'll see.
I hear we got some good phone of friends and some good lifelines.
Okay, okay, everybody.
All right, okay.
We get the most competitive people.
Okay, if you guys can get to your podiums, please, we'll be very grateful.
There is a couple lifelines now.
here are the rules, boys.
The first one to hit the buzzer has a chance to answer the question.
Okay, the buzzer is the red button and the blue button in front of you.
Only one of these will light up, okay?
The front of the thing, we go ahead and hit this.
Boom, that'll light up.
See, yours will now not be able to light up.
Foxx will have to reset it in the back.
Now, I don't think you should be allowed to hit it until I finish the last word of the question.
Okay, if you jump early, you're out.
The other team will get the opportunity.
If you get the question right, it'll be 100 points.
Now, before we give the right answer, if you get the button quick,
we'll ask the other team, do you think that's the right answer?
And would you like to steal it?
Okay?
If you say, no, that's not the right answer.
We would like to steal it.
You get it right?
That's 200 points.
Whoa.
Now, if their question is right,
if their answer is right and you say you want to steal it,
you lose 50.
Okay, so there's always risk reward, Drew Brees.
That's why you're a first ballader.
That makes sense.
$25,000 for each of you to give back to a youth football program
from us and the Pro Football Hall of Fame,
so we're lucky to do that.
There'll be three lifelines that will only be used once in totality.
In totality.
Not everybody gets to use it.
And then there's a double Don that you guys will each use one time throughout the show
or throughout the game that can double your points.
Are you guys ready to go?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
You guys ready?
You bet.
We need these microphones on, I do believe.
Nice.
Here we go.
Let's get to the first question, shall we?
Here we go.
A hundred points.
Can't hit until I finish.
Wait, wait, can I say something real quick?
Hold on.
Take it done.
Take it done.
What the hell?
We would like to double this.
Already.
You have zero points.
No, no, I thought we doubled how much it's worth.
We double our point value.
Yes.
Okay, never mind.
No, good clarity, though.
That was not anything.
I see, I would have never thought like that.
Had he played.
He almost doubled.
He almost doubled.
He almost zero.
That would have been a bad decision.
That would have been a something.
Let him do it.
I know, I know.
I know.
I'm sorry.
You're cheating.
I'm so sorry.
You cannot double this one.
Okay.
You cannot hit the thing,
even though all of you saw the question.
It's like a final word right here.
Okay.
All right.
First question of the Hall of Fame faceoff.
Who is the last quarterback to win the Super Bowl in the final game of his career?
Okay, very confident.
The answer is?
Peyton Manning.
Okay, do you believe that is correct, or would you like to say?
Peyton Manning.
Do you think that's correct?
It's okay if you do.
I believe it's correct.
Yeah, I think you guys agree with that?
Yeah.
Okay, good.
Ladies and gentlemen, the answer is Bob.
Peyton Manning.
Oh, thank you.
Yeah, sorry, first question.
That was messed up.
Sorry.
That's the first question.
I get it.
Yeah, I don't like that that happened.
And honestly, honestly, that was...
I was 10 years ago.
It was a tough day.
That was rude of a day.
Today's a good day.
Today's a good day.
We're kind of bringing it full circle on that.
And look, you've got 100 points for that.
All right, if you can reset this,
let's get to question number two of the Hall of Fame face.
I have 100 to nothing.
Would you like...
Who is the oldest player to score a TD in Super Bowl history?
Oh, this one might be.
a little bit of a conundrum for the Hall of Famers.
These four guys will obviously get a gold jacket here later in the off season.
As we kick off next year,
banana,
oh, hold on.
Hold the phone, okay.
Yeah, you can hit that.
You got to hit that.
Okay.
What would you guys like?
Like the phone a friend.
You would like the phone a friend of the program.
Wow.
AQ.
No, no, no.
It is a surprise friend of the program.
Okay, Larry.
So we will be calling somebody from R.
orbit who I do think will have the answer now who could that possibly be boys there it could be literally
a litany of anybody schafter sure anybody but dano you know seriously no but it could be dan o'clock
hopefully not it could be dan o'elovsky everybody needs to understand that this could be
dan erlovsky here okay let's go and do the friend of the program it could be anybody somebody that
we know somebody that is potentially a big old football brain are they going to answer yep they
are. See, countdown. It's almost like we had
to set up.
Oh!
Holy!
Holy out!
Coach!
Holy shit!
Coach, can you hear us?
I got you.
Thank you so.
Loud and clear.
Thank you so much for joining us, Coach.
I don't know if you see the boys here, obviously.
They're all massive.
Yeah, I see them. I tell you, that's a great group.
The five of you guys look great.
And honestly,
Adam, you know, made so many great plays for me, but he was a thorn in my side, too.
So, like, all you guys killed me at one point or another.
But congratulations for the Hall of Fame selections there.
And always great to be on with you, Pat.
So thanks for the opportunity.
What can I do for you?
Hey, we love you, Coach.
We love you, coach.
And obviously, if these guys weren't such big thorns in your side,
maybe you'd be up here.
You win a couple games.
Maybe you win a couple games, Coach.
Okay.
Larry Fitzgerald.
And Adam Venetieri are calling you for assistance, Coach.
If you could give us the answer to this question, it's for 100 points.
Who is the oldest player to score a touchdown in Super Bowl history?
Do you know that answer, Coach?
You know, did Peyton Manning score on a quarterback sneak?
I don't think so.
I'm going to go with Jerry Rice.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, okay.
So what, I don't, do we hit, do we don't have to hit follow-ups on that?
like what team and all that show.
No, no, no, no, just player.
Are you going with Jerry Rice?
Do you trust Coach Belichick?
I trust him with my life, yo.
How about you, Vinay?
Absolutely.
All the trust in the world in this in coach.
So for sure, if he says it's Jerry, it's Jared.
The answer is Jerry Rice.
That's incredible.
Thank you for joining us.
We appreciate you and have an incredible Super Bowl weekend, coach.
All right, awesome.
Thank you.
Thanks, guys.
All right, everybody.
Coach, I don't want to hammer it home,
but maybe next year you get to play this game.
Maybe.
Maybe.
We love you, coach.
See you later, man.
Okay.
Yeah, see it?
That's awesome.
That's pretty great.
Yeah.
Didn't see that coming.
I felt like that was good.
That was good.
Yeah.
I felt like that was pretty good.
Yeah, I felt pretty good about it.
Okay, let's go to the, let's go to the,
that was literally, yeah.
All right.
Here's our question.
Here we go for 100 points.
the only franchise to win a Super Bowl in four different decades.
Now, obviously, $25,000 donation for each Hall of Famer up here to a youth football.
Pat.
What if we go ask the boys?
Okay.
Okay.
The second lifeline will be used here.
Drew Breeze and Luke Kinkley would like to ask the boys.
They will probably huddle.
Why do you have faith in the boys, Drew and Luke?
Got a lot of defensive guys right behind me.
We got Deep Up.
We got AJ Hawk, and then we start to get a little bit offensive over there.
I'm going to lean on this side of the.
the group right here. I don't know if Drew likes that, but I'm comfortable over here.
You add up the brain power, all together collectively, it's enough.
I like that. And he's right. That's why I'm not so sure, Drew. That's why your first ballot.
Maybe not. I don't know. Okay, boys, I don't know who's going to be the speaker of the group.
DeBut. Okay, D. Buck will be the speaker of the group. He's on his own journey right now.
What is the only franchise to win a Super Bowl in four different decades? Darius J. Butler from the crew.
We all talked about it.
We obviously know the past.
They were dominant for a couple decades.
Niners, Cowboys, the New York Football Giants.
We're going to go with.
Wow.
Wow, that would be out of nowhere.
How do you feel about it?
I like it.
I like it a lot.
Luke?
He's a defensive guy.
He knows it.
You're going with the answer.
Absolutely.
Would you have guessed that if it wasn't for the boys?
No, that was not the first one that popped in my head.
What was your thought?
It was Cowboys Steelers.
Thank you.
It was all the ones who had won four, four, five.
The Steelers fan back there got pretty geeked up that you said that.
How about you?
We had Niners in there, too, but obviously that's not the case.
We're going to go with Debaugh and go with the Giants.
Answer is.
Don't know, Bob.
Debo.
I did not expect that, especially if you would have seen our yesterday.
Uh-huh.
What happened?
In the last night.
I don't, I didn't expect that out of you guys.
We got ledges up, but we got to show up.
I mean, you guys were doing your thing last night on the stage.
We were on our own stage last night.
I thought you what a few.
It was at about 70,000 feet where we were last night.
Who with the Alps, Pat?
Jeez.
Exactly.
I'm telling you, Hall of Fame night, dude.
All of Fame.
All right, you guys, you're down a Hyundai, okay?
The only lifeline that is left is to ask the chat,
and once again, we'll have somebody report from the chat.
Excited for the chat to showcase their football brains,
but that is the only lifeline left.
Both of you still have the double down that you're only allowed to use once.
It is 200 to 100.
We're talking bronze bus over gold jackets.
Next question in the Hall of Fame face office.
Adam Vittieri totaled 49 points in the 2006 postseason,
breaking whose record for most in a single postseason all time?
Uh-oh, Vinny, feels like you should know this,
but you said, I got to the top of the mountain
and I didn't look at who I was stepping on.
Any thoughts?
Luke Keekeley's breaking it down word by word
as if there's a clue in between the sexes.
Boys in the back, do you know this answer?
Yeah, I think we all have a pretty good,
feel for it.
Oh, that's because you guys read the answers.
Maybe.
Oh, yeah.
Maybe.
Adam, I would like to say your shoes are very cool.
I don't know if it's going to help you with this answer.
It's not going to help this at all.
It's not going to help this at all.
You guys aren't sure over here, it feels like.
There's not a lot of sure everywhere.
It's a great question.
It feels like we got some deep.
Oh, okay, here we go.
We're going to go to chat.
Okay, the boys.
Now, granted, you guys could have done that.
choose not to. I like where your heads heads add.
The bronze bus
would like to ask the chat their
thoughts on who this could be. How that
will work is somebody in the back will read through
the chat and then they will spam a name
we assume. And that name will get
mentioned to you guys out here. Bruce, what
is the chat saying about the man
who got his record broken
by Adam Vinoteri
in a
people are saying
Sebastian Janakowski. I don't know how many
games the Raiders had in the postseason.
No offense to Janakowski, but I love him.
That doesn't seem.
Seems like the chat.
Mort Anderson's being talked about.
Once again, playoff games.
I'm not 100% sure.
Barry Sanders' name's getting mentioned.
We're talking postseason games.
Talking postseason games.
The Lions won all those several.
Chat, I'm telling you, chat might not be shown.
Look at these eyes.
Look at these eyes.
I mean, I thought we were going to get some kind of a scrolling thing where, you know, we'd get just a lot of options.
That's a dangerous game, Drew.
Just put a random stuff up there.
Terrell Davis's name was just mentioned.
A lot of running backs would you say?
Honey, is that the name you just said, Bruce?
What name did you say?
Terrell Davis's his name was mentioned.
Any other names?
He's a great player.
Any other running backs?
Like who?
We're thinking Emmett, maybe.
You don't have to go with anything the chat said.
You can make your own answer here.
Didn't Larry have a great one?
Five, four, three, two, and...
We're going to go, Terrell Davis.
Boom!
Wow, boys.
Really good work on that.
Wow.
Okay, it's starting to be a little bit of a runaway.
Buncher.
Come on video.
I got you.
A little bit of a runaway over here.
They're out playing you guys, too.
That third lifeline, we said, like, anybody can use any time,
and they got rid of the quaker.
You got to play the strengths of the game, you know?
Hey, let's lock in a little bit.
Congrats on that record, though.
Hey, I appreciate it.
TD hate you.
TD had to take the game ball out of the house.
It's ain't a record anymore.
All right, let's go to the next one, as we said at 300 to 100.
What is the only friend?
What is the only friend?
to reach a Super Bowl with five different head coaches.
Wow.
Got to have a good building if five different head coaches can go in there and get the job done.
Have nothing but time.
Go ahead and take it.
Start of the show with you guys because you guys are Hallfamous.
Congrats.
Congratulations.
Congratulations.
All for you.
Double.
So good.
So good.
They said we got to give this guy a bronze bus.
The dreads are going to be sick in the boss.
I cannot wait for that.
They better get Vinetary now too, but I don't.
I want that neck.
Uh-huh.
I want that neck jacked up.
People at the hall.
I think he's a linebacker.
This is tough.
He's reached him and not winning the Super Bowl.
Oh, it's a good question.
Hold on.
Who's that?
A friend of the show.
Can we, can we phone a, can we?
Can we have a friend in the hallway?
Yeah, we got a whole friend in the hallway.
No, you can't.
The gold jackets have hit the button.
Rimes with.
Yeah, this is the first time they've gotten into dance.
There is a hallway friend.
Double.
Um, there's a fifth hall of famous out there.
Double down on this two.
Wow.
Wow.
Double-done. Okay, you need to double down.
This one will be worth 200 points because you're currently sitting at 100.
Vin and Terry, who?
Double-dine!
You guys got one of those waiting on you.
Double-dine.
Okay, what is the only franchise to Riches Super Bowl with five different head coaches, Vinnie?
Denver Broncos.
Is the answer the Denver Broncos for a double Don and the gold jackets to do their thing?
Gary Kubiak, his boy, by the way, has a chance to kind of do it.
That's a fourth question right there.
our fifth question, right? Well, if we do some math,
it was $300 to $100,
so that would be the fifth question. You tell me, Boston
College. So $300, $300,
now a sudden, we've got a top ball game.
Wow. Wow. Vanity Terry.
What a play. Wow. Boys, I'm going to let you know.
They weren't really part of the game there for a little bit.
And then all of a sudden they said it were going to play.
That was a good win by you guys.
300 to $300, a little bit
over halfway home. Next question
here for the Hall of Fame faceoff. Roger
Craig caught 20 passes. He's
class. Many of you guys.
caught 20 passes in a Super Bowl career tied with which running back for most all time at that position.
Now, Super Bowl career.
Roger Craig caught 20 passes in a Super Bowl career tied with which running back for most all time at that position.
I appreciate how cerebral you guys passes in the Super Bowl.
In the Super Bowl.
Yeah, yeah.
All Super Bowl receptions added up.
Yes.
Another running back was matched that.
I like the way you're kind of cerebral in this entire thing.
you're doing a lot of communicating over here i don't know if your guys
brains are bluetooth in or not you guys got any Bluetooth going on here have you thought about it
Roger Craig how is he by way i i wish i was right yeah he's really good still high stepping
yeah he right those knees i saw some highlights i didn't know him obviously before this entire
see look at this this is what they're doing you say woodhead about yeah craig we get some danny woodhead
i think of daze you guys need to walk in i'm about sick that conversation this is
Heakley's been trying to smash that thing for the last 10 minutes.
I don't know if he'd be Mike Allstop.
No, he didn't catch man.
Ladies and gentlemen, the bronze bus have decided they would like to give an answer.
Roger Craig caught 20 passes in his Super Bowl career, tied with which running back for most all time at that position?
Bronze Bus Boys, your answer is?
We're going to go James White.
Wow.
Oh, sweet feat!
That was a deep pull with James White.
Should have been Super Bowl MVP.
Patriots are back too.
So maybe that is good.
Do you think that answer is right or would you like to steal?
We think it's wrong.
Oh.
Wow.
So you would like to steal right now?
Another picture is running back.
Kevin Falk.
Oh.
Oh.
You guys might lose 50 points here, you know.
They can still get 100 points.
Your answer once again is James White.
Your answer once again is?
Kevin Falk.
The right answer is
Nantam!
You guys lose 50 points.
You're good.
You're good.
They tried to.
tried to steal.
Yeah, you guys just kind of get by.
Wow, peace get fed, hogs get slaughtered.
Wow.
300 to 250 all of a sudden, and
Thurmond Thomas was the answer we were looking for.
I don't think I heard it in any of the chatter.
Boys, did you hear that name?
No, not mentioned once.
It makes sense.
You go to New England, no.
Yeah, we do appreciate your mind immediately goes to the Patriots
because they were here so damn long.
Absolutely.
Thank you for that.
You're welcome.
Yeah, yeah, obviously.
Okay, so you don't have to decide, right, which team?
Right? Can we talk about that? Because that's not a real thing.
No, I think hopefully I can go in and have both groups just come together.
And I know there's probably some bad blood, but it's going to be a party.
So hopefully they all get along.
Yeah, but I mean, if that Patriots Dynasty wants to be represented like we thought it was going to in his whole fame, we got through the right toe this guy.
Vin, don't Tom Brady yourself here.
Okay.
Don't do that.
You were there for the AFC title game, just accept it.
All right?
got a dog in a race like Teddy Bruske.
Congratulations to see you guys, man.
This is cool.
Can's going to be awesome.
Maybe you guys are learning a little bit more about ball before then.
That last answer there was getting.
I don't want to say I'm losing hope, but I'm pumped.
Let's go to the next question here.
Hall of Fame face off.
It's 300 bronze bus.
Which quarterback has the most double digit wins in the Super Bowl?
Who's smacking that ass in the biggest game of all time?
Oh, something to think about.
Got to have to win a lot of Super Bowls to be able to have the most
double-digit wins.
Probably had to be a pretty notable quarterback.
Oh, the bronze bus already have their answer.
Boys, now, once again, a good strategy could be get the answer wrong,
mislead them a little bit, have them go backwards.
So I don't know if that's what you're going to try to do,
if you're going to try to get it right.
Who do you guys believe is the quarterback with the most double-digit wins in the Super Bowl,
Drew?
Tregman.
Final answer?
Tragman.
Final answer?
Do you think they are right, or would you like to attempt to enact a steel?
I'm gonna go with Joe Montana.
Okay.
I love it.
I love it.
Let's go.
Get aggressive.
I try to win.
I trust my teammate.
They did beat the Shale of Bengals.
Hey, and I like Joe Montana, great Italian.
Great Italian.
So they are potentially going backwards if you guys are right.
It turns out final answer.
Boom!
Way to go, boys.
Come on, Vinny.
Go, boys.
Way to go, man.
Hey, come on.
I like that you guys are swinging.
for it, but you guys, you don't have to do that.
You can just say, yeah, we'll see if they're right.
You got to make up some points.
Larry knows.
I mean, you know how not to do that?
The other way.
Let's go to the next question here at the Hall of Fame faceoff.
300 and 200. It was once a tie ball game.
The gold jacket standing to my left are trying to go
as backward as much as possible.
You can use it double down if you would
like to use your double down.
This could be a time.
The nice.
They're always talking.
They're always talking, Sean.
Do we know how many more questions?
There's three questions.
There's three questions left.
So if we double down, if we double down, you can win.
And we get it right, they can't get there.
Yeah.
Wow.
That's why they're whole favorite.
Okay.
I mean, it's up to you guys.
Hey, we got to.
There's two minutes.
If you lose the double down,
there's two minutes and seven seconds left.
So if we just keep talking.
It's fourth and a half yard.
Other team has no timeouts.
Okay.
See what you're saying.
What do we do?
What are we doing right now?
Are we kneeling his fucker out right now?
Is that what you guys you're saying?
What are we doing?
What's going on?
We got to see what the next question is.
For the sake of entertainment, we're going to keep playing.
Thank you.
Thank you for that because we've had a lot of the amount of time.
That's a good idea.
Which coach has the most double-digit wins in the Super Bowl?
Who is the quarterback?
Well, who's the coach?
Which coach has the most double-digit wins in the Super Bowl?
Remember, can't answer if you don't play.
It's unbelievable.
I know.
It's unbelievable.
Just the lack of urgency.
There's no respect from either.
team for the other.
No, no.
They want to win so bad.
It's just, yeah, I mean, hey.
I love that Drew and Luke, though.
They are not a quiet defense.
No.
Always chirping.
Did you guys chirp like this when you're on the field against each other?
We've never been able to be on the same team.
We don't know what it's like.
Oh, they're out of the block over here.
Blue.
Welcome to their game, boys.
Holy shit.
You guys are late?
Which quarterback has the most double-digit wins in the Super Bowl?
First ballot and, oh, sorry, coach.
Sorry, which coach has the most double-digit wins is.
We're going to go back to Yinsertown and go with Chuck
No. Oh. Hey, how do you feel about Coach McCarthy going to Pittsburgh?
Obviously different than what they're used to. I think he'd do a good job. I think him in the
relationship he has with Aaron Rogers. I think that will bow well for, you know, a year, hopefully.
Larry Fitzger said Aaron Rogers coming back. His first ballot hall of famous guy's also first ballot
journalist. They're saying Chuck Noah at Pittsburgh Steelers. Do you think that's right?
Or would you like to attempt to steal if it's wrong? We're just going to sit tight, let them kind of
Have to play the game.
Okay, there will be no negative points here.
I appreciate you guys for even giving an attempt.
It's 400 and 200.
The answer from the gold jackets is Chuck no.
Is that correct?
No.
No.
Guys, guys, guys.
Guys, if Chuck Gull was the answer, Terry Bratchell would have been the previous answer.
Yeah, but this didn't match up with Troy Ake,
but that's why I think it was a good trivia question.
Yeah, I think it was a good trivia question.
I like it.
He's thinking here.
These really have us thinking.
This is good.
I don't know who put these together, but it's five stars.
His name's Paul Hemba.
Yeah.
Paul Hembo.
Paul.
Did a good job.
He's going to like that.
Why are these guys talking everybody trying to get the deal?
Because these guys suck at the game.
Exactly.
That is why.
They are talking back here and try and get as much help as they possibly can.
I don't blame them.
I like the competitive juices.
Okay, let's go to the next question here.
What is the last team to score 500 regular season points in a Super Bowl?
winning season. Wow!
Who is powerful on the offensive side
and then went on to do the damn thing
into playoffs. We can't keep letting them.
I like that. You should do it. I like what you're doing
right now. That's a whole thing
competitive mindset that we have here for the faceoff.
What is the last team to score
500 regular season points in a Super Bowl winning season, boys?
We're going to say the greatest show on turf, the Rams.
It's a good answer. It's a great answer.
Okay. Remember that Super Bowl with the Titans
was bananas.
Do you guys think that answer is right or would you like to enact a potential steal?
I'm curious.
Curevious.
Come on, guess something.
Give him a chance.
Play the game.
Come on.
Play the game.
You know what?
My pride is boiling a little bit here.
Okay.
So I'm going to say that's wrong.
Yes.
Just for the sake of the game.
I like that.
It's wrong.
It's the 2009 New Orleans Saints.
Wow.
That would be crazy.
That'd be crazy if this is what Hembo dropped in here at this stage of this game.
That's dirty business, right?
It's dirty if it's right.
The right answer is.
The champion, just like he was against me and my rookie year, you and year 20 in that particular game.
Ambush kickoff to start second half.
He's disappointed they look over there.
Him and his baby at the end.
Moral lines.
I will say this.
Congratulations to the bronze bus on your championship.
I will talk to the losers first.
Larry, obviously, you're not a loser, okay?
Your first ballot Hall of Famer.
We should remember the good times of the last 24 hours,
not what you guys just did here.
But Larry, thank you so much for everything you've done for football.
Can't wait to watch you going to Canton, brother.
Thank you for having us, Pat.
Appreciate you.
What is your thoughts, though, on, like,
Hall of Fame responsibilities for, like, future of game?
Like, do you think there is a little bit more bestowed upon you now
that you have a gold jacket for like the good of sport and everything like that.
Do you feel that immediately or no?
Absolutely.
I mean, you're carrying it, you know, the legacy of the game for all the great men who have laid
the groundwork for us to be able to stand on their shoulders.
And so, yeah, you want to make sure you're doing a great job of upholding the values
and the standards of the hall that's all we stood for because for the next generation,
the guys coming behind us.
Vin and Terry, there's not going to be a lot of kickers, okay, that go in there.
Punters, I think Shane Leckles should be next.
But hey, that's neither here nor there.
I'm not a voter.
Thank God.
It seems like it has a bad sport to be, but they got it right with you, brother.
Congratulations.
And on the position factor being a part of it.
Do you feel, like, honored that you are representing all kickers and punters, basically,
and this is not a normal thing for the whole thing?
No, absolutely.
I think it's very difficult to get into the hall, no matter what position you play.
Obviously, we're not on the field as often as these guys.
I said it a million times.
I just get to put the icing on the cake after they, after they, you know,
work their butts off all game long.
and build it. So, yeah, I'm very, very happy to be the third, the third kicker in.
But, yeah, you know, as far as I'm concerned, it's just a great honor to be standing up here
with these guys, and hopefully I can make the hall proud.
Ice icing on the cake from the ice cold, Venetire. Do you know a couple things about this guy?
He's going to be like a brain surgeon if he wasn't a kicker. Did you know that?
I did not know that. Yeah. Not from this game. You couldn't tell that.
Yeah, I got a lot of that. But it's like, I got a chance, obviously, the hold for him.
I assume you're all kind of similar in nature,
which is why you're Hall of Famers.
First time we had a kick that meant something.
You know, like it meant something.
And I'm with Adam Venetary.
Obviously, the only person that could fuck this up is me, not Adam Vinetary.
So I'm jogging out there, and we do our entire thing.
And I look back, and there's a soulless man back there.
And it's like, oh, this is what it is.
This is why Adam Vinetary is who he is.
I want to let you know you taught me so much.
I assume you all helped younger teammates of yours throughout the entirety of it all.
We appreciate the hell out of you.
So you losers get the hell out of here.
We'll see you in Canton.
All right, congratulations boys.
Good show and Adam Venetary now for our winners.
Congratulations.
I would say, okay, when the teams were selected randomly,
you guys were the odds on favor.
Yeah, they're going to get out of here, so I don't have to hear this.
They're all-famers to you.
That's a big thing.
Losers today.
How are you talking about it?
Yeah, yeah.
You guys were clearly the odds on favorite.
So as soon as the names were kind of pieced together,
it's like, well, that team seemingly.
going to do very well. Why do you think you guys did so well, True? Well, I've been waiting for this
moment to be on the same team with Luke and was tired of going against him for so many years.
And honestly, like we came out here and we knew we had the boys. We knew that the boys in our
back pocket. Thank you, Drew. Well said. So we knew that was like a guaranteed one right there.
I knew he would pull at least a few. And then we just needed like the icing on the cake at the
very end, which appreciate you teeing up that Saints stat there at the end. And you weren't going to do
it, by the way. They had to tell you to play the game.
Drew, this is your fucking answer.
It's the equivalent of, like you said,
inside of two minutes, the other team has no
timeouts. You got the lead.
First out, you could just take
a knee, but instead you decide
to give him the old dipsy
do. And that's pretty much, yeah.
Just that the game was already over. Make sure we covered
the spread, you know, for all those, for all
those who believe. Hey, we appreciate it. We appreciate it.
Good teams win. You know what I'm saying?
A lot of people sitting right here that are very thankful. That was the
equivalent.
You, whenever I'm
I made Pro Bowl first time it was in Arizona.
It was freezing cold, and we drove out in the middle of the desert.
When I was a kid, I watched it was in Hawaii.
So certainly an interesting thing.
Quite an honor, still an honor, I will say.
It was certainly an honor.
This guy looked like Clark Kent in a gift shop.
He had a hoodie up, had no idea who he was, had glasses on.
Then obviously you watch.
I can help you find something?
I said, hey, pass.
I see you.
As you know.
You work here?
I need something with my room.
Can you guys drop some little towels off?
I said, yeah, what room is that?
I'm going to charge everything.
Unassuming, which is why so special.
Also, you know, potential.
Once again, we're on voyage.
We're all on a voyage all the time, okay?
But you took it very seriously about representing the league and being one of the older guys
and talk to everybody.
Now you're in the Hall of Fame.
It feels like it solidifies everything you are for this game.
Do you feel that?
And why have you always felt obligated to put on for the league and everything?
I think I've always had a profound respect and reverence for this game
and always tried to do it the right way.
Always really appreciated the guys that came before us.
I mean, so many guys that we looked up to and inspired to be like
and honestly paved the way for what we were able to accomplish.
And I think we tried to make our mark on this game as well
and leave it better than when we found it
so that this next generation can continue to carry on that legacy.
I think we all take so much pride in it.
You're the man. First ballot over Bill Belichick.
Now it's two different places.
But you can say that.
I can't.
I put that on my ex-bio if I were you.
But obviously, you're much humble and more humble man than I.
Thank you for everything you've done for the sport.
Luke, you didn't do shit for me at that hotel, obviously, to the Pro Bowl.
But you being second youngest guy of all time, that's obviously a huge amount of respect
for what you're able to accomplish so quickly.
Whenever you wake up and feel good, and you know you still got it,
and we watch your nerd cast, you can still read, what everything's happening.
Do you get an itch to get back out there like Philip Rivers did?
Because he might have been a part of your class, but instead he said delay that five years.
I think you always think.
you can play and then you get on the field before the game and see the guys and they get bigger and bigger and
you want nothing to do with those guys a couple years ago i was on the field before game and
nausea harris ran by i said i want i want nothing to do with that i'm gonna go sit upstairs and watch
the game from a box and be comfortable so no i don't have any itch anymore have you thought
about the speech when do you when do you start piecing that together because obviously there's
a lot of people a part of your journey that you want to give a shout out to have you started
doing that or how do you kind of envision that or you just kind of taking a day at a time i think
I think it's a day at a time right now. I think everything has happened so fast the last two weeks.
We haven't really had a chance to digest anything, and this week has been awesome.
But next week, I think it settles in on who goes, when do you go, where do you go?
And then obviously that speech, it's going to be canton. It's going to be hot.
I'm going to be sweat. So I've got to get my mind wrapped around that.
Where you guys are going is into immortality for football forever.
You've earned it. And congratulations on winning the first ever Hall of Fame faceoff.
$25,000 for you to give to a youth football program around the country.
the Pro Football Hall of Fame will also donate 25,000 for you to give to a youth football program around the country.
Thank you guys for representing ball and being very good at this game.
Yeah.
Odds on favor going in, but also lived up to the hype, not easy to do.
Awesome. Thanks for having us.
You too.
Hey, congrats brother.
Set the bar.
Yeah.
You are the standard.
Mm-hmm.
You are the standard.
See you guys.
Ladies and gentlemen.
That's Steve Bronze ball.
Yeah, boys.
Yeah, boys.
That's not a bad little shipping game.
No, it's incredible.
Not at all.
Okay, this is what we're going to do.
We're going to take a couple minute break and then we're going to reset this
thing and then David Tepper, owner of the Carolina Panthers will join us.
And then we're Feel Good Fridaying right here from Radio Row.
That was Hall of Fame face off.
Pat McVee Show is on the other side.
Be a friend, tell the friends up the nice and by change their life.
Congrats to them.
They were ass.
Yes, they were.
They were ass at that game.
Yeah.
I think I was better.
Well, hold on.
Hold on.
Oh, no.
The greatest, and we're here celebrating the hell out of it.
San Francisco has been an incredibly hospitable town for all of us as we look ahead
to Sundays, big game.
And listen, if you don't have McAfee downloaded to your phone, you're really rolling the dice with your digital safety.
Scammers are out there everywhere.
Public Wi-Fi is dangerous as hell.
They provide alternate VPNs for safe surfing while also being able to scan your text and emails so you don't get got by some Gittster who needs to get had.
Okay.
So go ahead to pat.mcate.com and kind of a bar there, I guess.
But welcome back to the Pat McAfee Show.
We have so many people stopping by.
The celebration of football is obviously perfect out here.
The weather has been great.
The local vegetables have been fantastic.
The local herbs have taken care of us.
The local restaurants have been great.
Yesterday we're at Golf Studio Bar and Grill.
Yes.
Studio Golf Bar and Grill.
Two weeks it's been open.
Great.
Rain shine was our waiter.
Janser.
Yeah.
Bader and Grill.
Studio golf bar and grill.
We're very thankful for them.
Adrian took care of us.
But nonetheless, big game on Sunday.
Seahawks, Patriots.
who win the Super Bowl. We'll talk about that
certainly for the next couple hours, but joining us
right now, ladies and gentlemen, owner
of the Carolina Panthers
and Charlotte FC, and I believe
multiple other businesses, a man
who is a yunzer.
Ladies a gentleman, David Temper.
Yeah.
No, no, no, go, don't, don't,
go, don't, don't, go.
All right, okay, okay, we don't deserve it.
It's an honor.
Thank you.
Hey, you could do something cool.
Throw something at him.
Yeah.
Tribal shoes.
Yeah. You didn't know it?
All right, I got two gifts for you.
Since you brought to the Carolinas,
there's a concert for the Carolinas jersey.
Okay.
And that's special because I wore that myself when I gave it to you.
I was going to wear it today, but I figured I gave it to you.
Sweat.
Teper sweats on this.
There's tep or sweat on that.
Okay.
There you go.
That could be sold on eBay for the finance area.
The second thing I'm going to give you,
second gift I have, at the honors yesterday, you know, Tatt was there.
You run the award
Team Mac.
Yeah, so here.
Oh.
Wow.
He looked good wearing that yesterday.
Yeah.
So here you go.
Now I think I can say anything.
Yeah.
I don't think so.
Right?
Is that how it works?
I'm 100% sure.
I think so.
I think I'm not a observer.
Okay.
First of all, thank you so much
for both these things, thinking of us.
This shirt, can I talk about this shirt in this moment?
Sure, sure.
I think that's whenever it all changed for you guys,
Carolina Panthers.
I've mentioned that numerous times.
I think there was potentially some interesting energy around the Carolina Panthers with you and the town and the team.
And then I think whenever you guys came together, you offered up the stadium, you offered to foot the bill,
you donated so much money for the hurricane relief that was happening in the area.
I feel like we've seen a direct response on the other side of that with you.
And do you agree with that or no?
Listen, if you believe in karma, you know, my wife, Nicole's a big believer in karma.
Listen, we do a lot.
So there's a lot of karma that hopefully, if we get paid back, we get to.
a great future.
Yeah.
It's all coming now, it feels like.
Oh, you know, we'll see.
Carolina Panther is under your leadership at this point
feels much different than it did a couple years ago.
You agree with that?
And why do you think that is the case?
I think we have a great team right now.
A great management team with Dave Canales and Dan Morgan
and Brandtillas there.
So I think it starts with them and, you know,
the confidence I have in them.
So, you know, starts there.
And I think that, you know, we've done a pretty good job
and the draft and stuff like that.
And the whole building just feels better.
Feels like you're an Uber competitive person.
Some people think that.
Yeah, you have to be.
What business world did you come from?
What was your direct line business
before you got into owning an NFL team?
I have a big hedge fund.
Okay, so that's a lot of competition.
You've got to drive, obviously.
There's a lot of driving, a lot of vision
and everything like that.
You've had a lot of success.
You get into ownership, both the soccer team
and the NFL team.
It's not going perfectly.
I think for you is probably something
that was very difficult to deal with.
Is that an accurate read of who you were?
Yeah, I think so.
I mean, with the soccer team, we started the soccer team.
And, you know, it's kind of easier when you start something from the get-go,
and then you don't have to kind of change things around.
And we also had a little experience with the football team,
so you know what we might have not done right there.
So with the soccer team, we were not in the playoffs the first year,
but we've been in four years,
and we've been in the playoff three of the four years.
So the soccer team was going really well.
and, you know, soccer, not to talk about soccer here,
but the soccer team's interesting because we gave a,
you know, Charlotte has a fairly large Hispanic population
that people don't know about,
so it gave identity to those people.
So we, like, have the second biggest attendance in MOS.
Behind Miami?
No, Atlanta.
Oh, wow.
You're telling me, Messi's not moving.
They don't have a big enough stadium yet.
Ah.
You're just saying, hey, Beckham, yeah, good try down there.
Yeah, good job.
And let's go over to football
Because I assume for somebody like you
Who's had a lot of success
You're also a Yenzer, so I know probably a little bit more
About how you probably operate
Shout to you, inner city Pittsburgh kid
Doing everything that you're doing currently
But whenever it's not going right
Your immediate reaction is I want to help
I want to fix, I want to change
And then did you hear the outside noise saying
Hey, you got to get your ass out of this
Did you hear a lot of that and how do you balance that type of stuff?
Yeah, look, I mean, when
It's an interesting question
Because it's also how you pull back
and you probably know this.
It's like on some things, it's, you know,
it's a perception on one hand
on what's on the outside world
and then there's inner perception,
you know, what's really going on.
So it's also how the building feels
and what's happening different in the building
that sometimes you have to respond to one way or another
that people don't know on the outside.
They don't know what's going on.
So for me, you know, I always want to get it right.
I'm probably, which people don't think so.
I mean, I've had the same people working for me forever.
at my hedge fund.
So it's kind of one of those dichotomies,
you know, that people view the view.
But right now I'm like really happy with the management team,
happy with the management team on the business side.
And we right now have, we're in the third year, right?
We didn't have to go through,
compete with 10 other teams for coaches this year.
Thank God.
Thank God.
Thank you.
Congratulations.
Because you're in there for a while.
Yeah, you've been in those waters before.
Yeah, no.
So that was really nice.
And, you know, listen,
When you have that level of confidence in people, it's really easy to be more hands-off.
There's no reason to be hands-off.
There's just no reason.
So things are going right, and we're still trying to, you know, it's something I should not be involved in any day-to-day decisions or day-to-day operations.
You know, it's just something that no owner should really be involved in.
It's a question, you know, potentially some strategy things.
There's some money issues that you get involved in and things like that.
But, you know, and then there's a thing I care about, obviously, things that I'm going to get criticized about, you know, which is really in the draft.
It's the first round.
There's first two rounds, right?
Nobody cares.
You know, don't blame the owner for the third round pick.
They blame the owner for the first round pick.
They blame the owner maybe for the second round pick, but they don't do for the third round pick.
I like that.
So you're focused in on the first couple of picks.
I kind of know where all the picks are going.
So, yeah, but I mean, listen, you know, it's pretty much, even in all that stuff, always letting guys do.
their job. Okay, so let's talk about one of your early first round picks, Bryce Young, where he was on
the show yesterday. He sat in the pocket here. We talked about things that obviously were not comfortable
for him throughout his life. I think adversity is always going to happen. I think you experience it as
an owner. I think you experience it through life. I think Bryce experienced it in his professional career
already. And he said he just took the mind into perspective of like, hey, be the best part of this.
How can I change? How do I make this good? What have you seen from Bryce, from a leader and like the guy
who is the face of your program?
Look, Bryce, first off, you sat with Bryce.
Bryce is a great individual.
He's one of the truly great individual.
I mean, there's a lot of great individuals in the NFL.
I mean, people don't appreciate how nice and how good these young men are in general.
Hell yeah.
I think that's a generality.
And Bryce, like I always say, like Bryce is a kind of guy, you might want to have your daughter marry.
So if you like, you know, that's, you know, if I was going to give him that kind of compliment.
And, you know, Bryce, you know, it's like, you know, if you look at it, you know, year by year by year, we're, we're where we're, we're where we are now in this last year.
And listen, great to have a playoff game and let the national people see the playoff game and see the guy under pressure.
And he's cool as a cucumber in that fourth quarter.
You know, he has, I guess he still has, you probably said on this show, you know, he has the most comebacks since 23, you know, so.
Oh, yeah, we knew that.
Yeah, it'd be nice to have those first and second quarter leads.
See, my heart here, yeah, yeah.
But, you know, when you have that, and you know that you talk about,
I was just talking about with Vinatari back there,
you know, you have these guys that can come and do that fourth quarter,
you know that Rothersberger or Bradshaw for Pittsburgh.
Yeah.
You're a Steeler fair when you grew up.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Life's better when the Steelers win if you're in Pittsburgh.
What's that?
Life is better if the Steelers win when you.
Yeah, well, Pittsburgh, it's Steelers first, religion second, you know,
you know, Sunday morning.
Yeah, I think it's too religious.
Yeah, it's actually a good call.
I don't know if you saw, by the way, the father,
blessed the field with the kick, maybe something to think,
I know you thought about it.
Yeah, I know you.
AJ has a question for you.
Yeah, Mr. Tepper, what do you like when you watch the games?
I guess where are you watching?
What's your mindset?
I would imagine as an owner, you're pretty nervous knowing the Hay.
The Hayes in the barn.
I can't really do anything now if the game has started.
You know, in the box, in our box,
I usually watch.
We always watch the games together with Dan and Brandt,
or in the box together.
Dan is the most animated in the box probably.
Really?
Yeah, I'm, despite things, I'm pretty calm until I'm not.
Yeah, you're awesome.
Hey, you're awesome when you're not, though.
Yeah, I understand that.
It takes some interesting story, which we won't get in today,
but it takes to be, I'm very calm until.
Yeah, you're a yinzer, dude, yeah.
The answer, you know how it goes.
Yeah, yeah, 100, exactly.
The top.
I see that sign every day while I'm driving by here.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Listen, it's like, you don't like to start a fight.
But, right, if we're going to.
If you're going to get in my face, then it's a, yeah, but as I get older, I just said
this back there, I was talking, again, the Vittarius is 53 years old.
I said, you know, at some point you've got to, like, leave that edge go, okay?
That's like enough already, you know, but it's the answer edge, right?
Vinny doesn't, though, like, if you're playing checkers with Vinny and he's about to lose,
he's flipping the thing.
Exactly.
I think there's just levels to it.
There's only 32 teams, man, you know, and everybody's fighting for it.
So I respect your competitive juices, and I like the fact that you're like, I'm sick at this place.
I'm actually going to go in here and say it because people that are in your position would never do that.
That would be something that they would send.
The fact that you want to do yourself, I think is a part of who you are.
Like that is a part of your nature is like I'd rather handle my own business.
And then whenever it doesn't go great and it's not the exact same as everybody else,
you provide an opportunity for everybody to bury you, which I think you kind of understand being a unique individual probably, right?
Yeah, a little bit.
You agree with all that, though?
More or less.
Yeah.
Throw on the ice was awesome.
Like, these things are all awesome.
Like, you know what I mean?
Like, these are all awesome.
It's a human thing that you, you billionaires and owners aren't supposed to act like.
Let me just mention out with that thing.
I was very calm during that game.
No, no.
In Jacksonville, you know, the way it's set up is the boxes, they can get on a chair and lean into your box.
Ah.
It seems like a bit of an issue.
It feels like a design flaw.
Yeah.
Yeah, this Pittsburgh guy.
You can think about that.
to be because it's just a science way.
So, yeah.
But we want to let you know, we appreciate that you appear to be human in those moments,
but obviously you provide a lot of opportunity for people to bury you whenever you do things.
Well, you know, in that case, I was walking away,
and then somebody, our player, Marquis Haynes got knocked out on the field.
And the guy, the people after harassing us the whole game, you know, harassing, harassing,
harassing, which I'm just like, you know, walk away, walk away, walk away.
The guy said basically, get your turned around.
and said, get your freaking player off the field.
Our guy's knocked out of the field.
I was walking on the thing because I couldn't take it anymore.
And then I just...
Fair plot.
Listen, as you know, these are your...
These are your...
When you're...
It's almost like your kids.
Yeah.
Sometimes as an owner.
You know, you see the relationship.
And, I mean, you see, you know, last night with, you know,
Ted come around back and hugged us, you know, back there like that.
You have, tried to have that relationship with your players.
And, you know, your family, it's your family.
Yeah, you're supposed to care.
You're allowed to care, dude.
You're supposed to care about your family, okay?
These are your family, right?
It's your family.
That's what we try to have that environment inside that building right now.
It's trying to build.
And if you look to legends that come back in our games and such,
and even a big guy the other day, you know,
all these guys coming back, Steve Smith, who didn't come back for a while.
So, you know, we get everybody, try to get everybody back in here.
And, you know, when your family's, you know, you have kids?
Oh, yeah, a lot of kids.
He's got like 10 of them.
I got four, not 10.
What do you do with one of your kids?
Somebody does that.
Oh, lose my mind.
Yeah, absolutely.
Hey, we're on your side here.
We're on your side.
I'm just explained it because it's just, that's the truth.
That's the truth.
Last question here for you, Mr. Temper from D. Budge.
You just kind of mentioned it.
Obviously, the environment, that playoff atmosphere, and then Cam coming back.
We always look at teams and the ownership level when we talk about, you know, the relationship
with some of their former star players.
I know it was things in the media.
How is that relationship now?
How did it come to him showing back up, you know, and the big playoff?
environment.
You know, it's an amazing thing what gets in the
meeting and what's reality.
I mean, Cam is always...
Yeah, but perspective is reality.
You know that.
I do know that.
I actually...
I do this stuff called the markets,
and I get that perspective versus reality sort of situation.
I kind of understand that concept a little bit.
Yeah, I'm coaching you.
Thank you.
I appreciate that.
But look, I mean, you know,
Cam was always welcome back, and, you know,
I just called Cam.
I just said, you know, it's time.
you know, come on back in.
You know, this is a moment, this is the time,
and we need you. You will provide the energy
in the stadium, which he did. Yeah. And the place
was rocking. Oh, yeah. It was rocking.
I know if any of you were there. Were you there?
No, we were watching. Okay, just because you played one year
in Carolina. Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's a panther, former panther.
We was talking about Big East
basketball, too. Yeah, it was connect, you know, because
I was up, I went to Penn. You went to
Virginia. West Virginia, yeah. I know, I know.
Yeah, you need. Just there's no reason to do it. You just did it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So your pick guy,
I grew up in Pittsburgh, went to Pitt.
Pitt.
Well, I went to Pitt.
I went to Peabody High School.
Okay.
And he's Sliberty.
Sliberty?
Sliberty, which is now called,
who's the inner city school,
now called Barack Obama High.
Oh, yeah.
And then I went to P-Body,
I went to Pitt,
and I went to Carnegie Mettlton University grad school.
So, real Yonzer.
So you are through and through.
Through it, I was.
I don't know how many are making it's part of you.
I think you know,
I own a part of the Steelers for a few years.
Yeah, my minority are.
Yeah, so it was like,
yeah, real, real Pittsburgh guy.
And, you know,
the whole deal. Short-order cook, clean bathrooms, the whole deal. You know, you have to do, like, you know.
You still operate the hedge fund or no? Oh, yeah, yeah. 10x or 12x, what I should be. What do you think I should be pitching?
What did you say? Yeah, you know, 10x or 12x? How much should I be multiplying what I have?
10x or 12x, would you have? Yeah. Well, Appaloosa's probably has the best record over the last 35 years of any hedge fund alive. That's actually true for what it's worth. So it's not worth anything in football world, but it's true.
It could be worth something in our world.
We are potentially selling a few percent.
It could be, if you're friendly with me, you say good things.
I mean, we can talk.
Now, there are a few other billionaires that are roaming around here, you know.
We can certainly become a state-run media run out of Carolina.
You can do that.
It's great weather down there, you know, better than the burg, that's for sure.
And Indiana.
How has Carolina been with this cold?
Oh, you know, they had snow the other day.
They don't know what to do.
know that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Versus where we were from, you know, you know how to drive.
I mean, that's the part, knowing.
I know what it's like, because we had that big snow all the time.
We had that cold weather all the time when we grew up, right?
Yeah.
So, well, you just know it.
Good for you, man.
That's really cool.
Yeah.
You knew you were just going to be a billionaire NFL owner?
Like, how did you decide to own an NFL team?
Are you kidding?
Are you kidding?
How did you decide NFL team?
Well, you know, I played a little bit of football in high school.
Whoa, what you play?
What I played?
I played the bench.
But I played.
club football all through, you know, college and grad school and stuff like that. So, I mean,
I just like football. And, you know, when it came to an opportunity to get involved with the Steelers,
that's, you know, you know, you know how much from Pittsburgh. So I did that. And then, you know,
when the Carolina opportunity came up, you know, I already had the, um, the association that was
already approved with the NFL. And I had a, I had the cash sitting around.
Burn a hole in your pocket. Yeah. It was burning a hole in your pocket. Yeah. It just had to do something with
You're the best.
It feels like the NFL is up and to the right.
You obviously know a lot more than us.
Jim Ursay was the person that kept us
kind of informed, rest and peace to him.
We're going to be relying upon you to keep us update on
what the hell is going on and you're one per club meetings.
I'll tell you everything that happens in the meeting.
You'll be my first call.
Boom.
That's journalism.
We just did right there.
Ladies and gentlemen, the owner of the Carolina Panthers,
David Tipper.
Thank you very much.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
All right. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you.
Pleasure.
Potentially owner of Pat McVee Inc.
Something to think about.
Something to think about.
I think it's anywhere between 800 to a bill.
You?
Yeah.
I mean, that's, I'll lay out a full presentation.
I'm going to start at 1.25.
You're probably going to work me down a little bit.
But just know that anywhere between 800 and a bill,
you'll get a deal done, yeah.
Okay, good luck. All right, see you.
There you go.
He's not the only one.
You did that with you a couple of weeks ago,
A couple weeks ago, so you got Cuban, you got taps, yeah.
Yeah, we're just letting them all know.
Maybe a couple other guests.
So, hey, you won't be a part of program?
Potentially you.
Yeah, they go.
Yeah, no, there's, that is a good part of what we have going on, which we are kind of able to do what we want, you know?
And, like, a lot of people get kind of upset about that at the beginning.
But whenever you have that type of freedom, I think you're able to exploit space more, take more tests.
Us being a daily ESPN show, live from Radio Row is like, right move.
Like, everybody should be here.
Yeah, yes.
Yeah.
Radio Row is the Super Bowl.
And we are incredibly thankful to be here.
On the other side of this particular break,
this is going to be our first break of the show,
obviously because the Hall of Fame face off,
we got guests galore.
And they're not just like small guests.
Oh, no.
We got huge guests.
Not in the stature.
Okay.
No.
Because like the human bones stacked up,
not the tallest people.
Not crazy.
Some of them.
But if you were to stack their bank accounts.
As tall as these hills over here in San Francisco.
That's right.
Can't stress this enough.
Sam Fran has been phenomenal.
This next hour of the program is about to be ridiculous.
We thank you all so much for celebrating ball alongside of us.
We're back on the other side of this break.
Be a friend, tell a friend something nice.
It might change your life.
See you on your side.
As George Kittle rolls by.
Oh, David George.
The greatest, the Seattle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots.
We had the Hall of Fame face off earlier where we saw Drew Brees and Luke Kikley win $50,000 to go to youth.
football program somewhere around the country. Then we obviously had David Tepper, the owner of
the Panthers, join us. All of this is to celebrate the greatest sport, the greatest league,
and the greatest game happening this weekend here in Northern California. Us sitting in San Francisco,
this game in Santa Clara as McDonald and Sam Donald representing the NFC West will battle the
AFC East New England Patriots, Mike Vrable, Drake May, in a litany of dogs look to become
superstars on the biggest
stage. Let's go to the talk to the table at
Busset Connor and at Ty Schmidt.
Conman, how do you feel? Feel Good Friday?
Your team's in the Super Bowl. How you
doing? Keep it moving. Life
is fantastic. Yeah, wonderful.
I mean, Drake May got Rob, lost out of the MVP.
I think that just helps the Patriots
moving forward, especially just kind of spite
hey, we all we got, we all we need. That's kind of what
they're going with this year of Rable and
McDaniels when, you know, coach of the year and
assistant coach of the year. But as
of this moment, feel just as as I did on one.
You know, just focused on Sunday.
Let's get there and let's, you know, hang Banner 7.
Yeah, it's hard to kind of eliminate the distraction.
Nine-year NFL vet.
Darius Jay Butler is here.
How's your voyage is Super Bowl week going?
It's been great.
It's been outstanding.
I can't wait until we get to this game.
It's obviously the last show leading up to it.
I can't wait.
Regardless of how it goes, it's going to be a great story.
You decide.
I know you feel like Drake got robbed and maybe they circled a rag.
He did.
Maybe it was close.
His buddy Dan Arlofsky voted for him.
That's why.
I mean, Dan, that wasn't the vote.
That vote wasn't a problem, but, you know, it came down to it was close,
and we got some other fantastic players playing as well.
24-23, allegedly the MVP voting, so the AP had a tough decision to make.
It was a two-headed monster for a while, although some voters said,
no, actually, this guy is the guy.
And everybody said, why is this Irish guy?
Yeah, take his vote away.
So it's getting pretty crazy.
The voters obviously have a lot of responsibility.
Congratulations to Matthew Staff, the draft class of 09.
winning the MVP and announcing he's coming back next season.
That's awesome.
I thought that was a beautiful member with his kids.
I thought he handled that very well.
Good luck to him.
Congrats to all the winners from last night.
Obviously historic seasons for a lot of people.
It was fun to watch and celebrate.
We're not invited that place.
No.
It'd be crazy that this guy, Super Bowl champion,
AJ Hawk, not invited.
AJ, your thoughts on the awards last night
Matthew Stafford finally getting MVP next to his name.
Yeah, I was happy for Matthew Stafford.
It was cool to see he and his family get that honor.
And, you know, everyone seemed pretty exciting
when he said he was coming back as well.
So I'm sure that felt good for he and his family.
How could you not come back if you win the MVP?
Like, how could you just walk away?
That would be the Barry Sanders type, you know,
go out on top of your game.
It would be a crazy.
Did you do that?
I made a pro ball and then I retired.
But the quarterback position,
their entire lives have been shaped around making them, you know.
And then if you could still be an MVP
and they're still going to pay you $40, $50 million to do it,
it's like it'd be hard to turn that down.
I think for anybody.
So we're happy he's coming back.
We love Stafford.
Speaking of coming back,
it's becoming an annual tradition
on these Feel Good Fridays.
You know, there's a man,
and now in this particular case,
men who come to a Super Bowl,
Tonnes Shee Keyes.
That's right.
Because their names are at the top
of basically every single deal
that happens with everything
that happens anywhere.
You're watching Luke Littler
over there throw darts.
Yeah.
I'm assuming if you stick around
to the credits,
one of these guys' names
is going to be a part of it.
Obviously, UFC,
why both of these names
going to be a part of it.
college football playoff deal.
I do believe if you were to see the contract,
these names were on top of it.
Everything that's going to kind of happen,
these names are on top of it.
Ladies and gentlemen,
TKO group chairman,
founder of Endeavor,
and also Mori and everything else they have going on,
Ari Emanuel and Mark Shapiro.
Hey, boys.
Hey, man, business mess.
Yeah.
Shoots, suits, suits, suits, suits, suits, suits.
Suit suits, suits, suits, suits, suits, suits, suits.
Suits.
Good to see your suits.
Good to see you.
How you doing?
Yeah, I know, I know.
Ari was super excited to see what you were going to wear, Mark.
I want to let you know that.
Ari was hoping that you would show up in a full suit.
Instead, you have kind of like the business cash sport coat kind of undershirt.
Kind of look good.
Here for a luncheon, you know.
Where's his macha?
His mat.
He doesn't have the half a quarter zip.
I'm fully caffeinated.
I'm ready to go.
Ari Emanuel, by the way, is Ari Gold from Antarush.
Correct.
We talk about this every single year.
I think that does need to be stated.
And now that I know him as an avid entourage watcher from before,
I know Jeremy Piven is a very good actor.
I think writing that shit was probably pretty easy.
Okay, I assume following this guy around, it kind of is what it is.
Ari, you've moved into sports in a big way.
Obviously, you as well, Shapiro.
You kind of cut your teeth, I believe, in the sports world.
already moving into sports in such a big way
formerly of just Hollywood now you still have Hollywood
but you love live sports you're in it
why and what has the trajectory been
from the last time we spoke to you about what sports
is up and to the right with these streaming platforms
you know he didn't even mention
that I've taken on this experiment
called Pat McAfee's an actor I mean this guy
just finished Tulsa King
whoa what yeah a bunch of episodes
that's not front time news actually
yeah breaking news all right
yeah okay yeah slash slam by
Hey, shout out to the entire Stallone family.
That was a good time.
It has been fun.
You've got to do four episodes, this guy.
Okay.
All right, okay.
Come on, fly.
No, out of the bag.
Wow.
That's supposed to go.
I think you just pissed off probably.
I don't get shit.
Yeah, we know.
We know you.
Is he cutting you already gold deals?
Like, are you getting big deals?
Oh, yeah.
Huge.
Yeah, huge.
Yeah, you know.
We're building the platform.
Yeah, of course you are.
Back at stage one.
It isn't on a.
You have to pay to be.
Yeah.
Yeah, exactly.
It's kind of how it feels in your guys as well.
No, listen.
We kind of when we bought IMG realized where sports, where the distribution business was going,
and realized the value of life sports.
That was in the representation business when we were IMG.
And then we realized that we had a lot of the infrastructure to handle owning a sport.
And we started out with bull riding, and then we moved and acquired the UFC.
Both went very, very well.
and then when we saw a possibility of just a pure play with UFC and the WWE,
we kind of move very quickly to that,
and now TKO is what it is.
Yeah, what it is is awesome.
And we're very appreciative.
This is a huge part of our world, WWE, UFC.
Everybody we know has to do business with you.
Sorry, gets to do business with you, which is obviously two different.
Well, they get to do business.
Yeah, with Mark Shapiro.
Okay, so, Mark, let's talk about this.
Honestly, you two, great tag team, especially for TKO.
You ran ESPN before we?
Yeah, with George Bodenheimer and Steve Bornstein.
That was kind of the lineage there.
What year was that?
What years were those?
I left there in 2005.
The Wonder can.
I started, I mean, as a production assistant, way back in, you know, 93, it was like the beginning.
Okay, so you are OG ESPN.
Love ESPN.
Now your super suit with TKO and Mari and everything else.
I've always been super suit, just to be clear.
Okay.
What is the business like right now for you?
What is the projections of what?
What should we be investing?
What sport do you think is potentially going to come along?
Look, I'll tell you this.
Just the experiences in events business is a good place to be.
Whether that's Amari or that's a TKO or that's properties we have touching talented WME, by the way, William Morris.
It's just folks want to be out.
Youth wants to be out.
Shared experiences, communal, get the phone going.
They all suffer from FOMO.
Like we're playing right in the sweet spot where it's.
going. Okay, so let's talk about you being super
suit, having all the information. Why
does the football run everything?
90, what, six of the top
100 things were football,
both college and the NFL?
Why do you think it has become such a
live sports, but also football being so
dominant whenever it comes to attention and captivating
folks? Look, both of them just have such
there's storied rivalries, right?
There's rooting interest. It's very
provincial college. You've got a lot
of small towns, and like, that's
their life. I went to school at the University of Iowa.
Hell yeah.
Damn right.
There we go.
Iowa City, like, that is the pro team for the entire state.
And you have that across the board with a lot of schools.
And, of course, the NFL, you know, dominates so much.
They've done a great job with the schedule, spreading it out to different platforms,
primetime going streaming before anyone was going streaming.
So, like, they're in a good position.
But I would just tell you, Pat, sports overall is in a great position because it's not a passenger.
I mean, this is one of the great answers.
This is like he's got this down, doesn't it?
He's like the greatest politician of all time.
Yeah, yeah, well, we'll talk about that with you here.
But think of that.
All other content, there's a lot of passenger content.
You go see a movie, you watch a TV show.
You get excited.
You laugh, you cry, but it's a passenger experience where sports is a participant experience.
But also live, whether it be live events, live music, live, you can't get around how great live is because you just never know.
And in a world where you know, you're just scrolling, you have to pay attention.
And you know what enhances all that?
Sports betting.
I thought you were going to say weed, but yes, I agree.
I do agree that sports betting does.
You talk about sports being the greatest.
Obviously, we appreciate that you guys have done so much for sports
and getting in a sports world.
When sports are great, cities are great.
Welcome back Chicago Bears.
Yes.
How about that?
Huh?
He's a Diord Bears.
We should have gone.
We should have got him into the Bears.
Don't you think we should have gone for two?
No.
Watching the game, I thought.
So we were actually sitting watching the game.
I said it going to go down.
score and they're going for two. I was shocked
that they didn't go for two. He was there. I'm going to tell
you right now. We were both there. We, our three sons
sitting out, what was it, like two degrees
for the entire game. We had a box with our
family and we sat out in the element.
Had to, by the way. Let me just say something.
So they get the touchdown.
Crazy. We go down
all the boys with know each other
hugging. Crazy. Then he doesn't go for two. For me, I don't
know about Mark and his game. I almost lost
it. I mean, I couldn't believe that we were not
going for two. I mean, I was. But you're at the 50.
You're at the 50, and all you need is a field goal.
You don't need to make that long throw to DJ.
Just ball.
No, they go.
Get in field.
Boy range.
Okay, this is exactly what we were hoping this would become.
You guys breaking down a game that doesn't matter.
You're not in a Super Bowl.
You're not in the Super Bowl.
We have a bit of a long time.
No, you are not.
What are you talking about?
You're close, though.
And I did enjoy watching you experience another ride with the Bears, though,
because it was fun watching that city kind of get back in.
But Ari, obviously, your family, synonymous with a lot of different things.
You do business with a lot of.
lot of things. Sports is the great unifier,
I feel like, and I feel like you are a big time
driver for that. Well, listen,
we have made a decision
that a lot of our time right now is going to be in sports
and live events in Mari.
And when you have
a live event,
you just, the person next to you
don't care if the Republican, Democrat,
independent, you don't care, you just like are
experience it. And so
that's kind of what
we feel is important. My family,
family kind of is in politics, coming from my mom.
But we just want to have a good community, a good conversation with people, and have fun.
And I think that's what live events and sports do.
And just on the Mari side, just because most folks won't know necessarily.
He was just nervous I was going to screw something up, so he's kind of protecting me.
That's not a bad idea.
That's why he's here.
I've appreciated that conversation.
Ari will agree to something.
And then all of a sudden I get a text from other people that are like, we just want to know how this is.
This is a publicly traded company, you know.
Okay, so we need a little bit more information, please.
All the board, but no, when the companies were splitting and WME group was going private
and TKL was going to be this big sports behemoth, we decided we wanted to bet on just events and experiences.
So we started this company, Mari, which owns all these events and experiences,
from food and culinary to tennis to collectibles, and that's really what we've been investing in.
And we've got a long line of investors, including Stephen Ross, the Miami Dolphins, and Jerry Cardin.
the Redbird, all folks that really believe in these communal opportunities.
Yeah, we appreciate you guys taking your time and energy and talent into sport.
Hey, do you think if the president was a Democrat, he would have came on or she would
have came on during Veterans Day?
The president was a Democrat.
Now the president is not a Democrat.
Okay, all right.
Okay.
What I'm saying, for the perspective of people that, like, murdered me for having the
commander in chief on during Veterans Day, can you please, as somebody who knows,
Literally everybody from...
Used to represent the president.
Okay, thank you.
The current president, President Donald Trump,
but also on the other side, I believe you have pretty good ties as well.
They work for that president.
Okay, so can we please say to the world that no matter which political party,
the president, the commander-in-chief would have came on our show?
Can I, can we say it?
Yes, you should.
And we tried, right?
Yes, we did.
We tried very, very hard.
Thank you for trying.
No problem.
Now, we want to talk about...
Nobody cared that we tried.
Nobody cares that the Bears aren't in the Super Bowl.
except me.
Okay, well, I understand that.
But I would like to let you know, you have made our lives better,
and you have also made sports better, so we appreciate that.
The boys have some questions for you.
Go ahead, AJ.
Yeah, I guess Mark first and Ari.
I guess how do you...
No, no, I get first bill.
Yeah, okay.
What are you doing?
That's why Mari is Mark and Ari, right?
That's the first thing for me.
You guys have to fight that.
No, no, no.
We get on great.
But I guess you guys, like, you kind of have to forecast the future,
how people consume things, how they watch things.
I guess, what is five?
to 10 years look like from now, how do you find a way to feel like, hey, this is where everything
is moving? Who do you trust? Just you too? Well, we have a lot of good banter back and forth.
But look, we just, like you, we try and you guys are so knowledgeable. I mean, watch a show every
day. You touch culture, you touch entertainment, you touch sports, you're all over the news.
You have all kinds of guests on from all walks of life. And that's really what we do, right?
We're reading, we're in touch, we're asking questions, we're making phone calls, we're taking
trips. I mean, he's traveling up around
the world all the time, whether he's talking to current
investors or soliciting new investors
and just trying to stay one step ahead.
It's tough, but that's the business.
That's why he's already gold. Honestly,
that's why you are already gold. Every streaming platform is
going to get into live sports bigger. It feels like Paramount Plus
is making a big push right now. Yeah.
I mean, they have with us
bull riding, our new boxing business
and UFC, they have football.
I mean, they're in it, big.
Who else? And also... Is Apple TV ever getting
in? Do you think? How come they... They got the
They got the F1 deal. They got the F1.
Okay. The pinnacle.
Okay.
Yeah. They got the pinnacle.
They've had some baseball.
Yeah, they had the MLS too. A lot of things that people watch.
It's going to be interesting.
I would actually like to know Mark's answer on local when, depending on what happens
with the local broadcasts and where he thinks that's going on.
You're talking about Bally's then it became Fandall right.
Main Street.
Main Street.
That's a tough place to be.
Think about those revenues those owners had, those local rights.
They need that.
And those R.S.
And that's gone.
So it's all messy right now.
I think we know the guy running that, I think.
He used to work somewhere else.
Oh, no.
Devon has a question for you guys.
I got to ask you, all right.
See, I got top billing here.
Okay.
Thank you very much.
What's been your favorite?
Because I got caught up watching.
I wanted Rushmore X's.
I want to say two or three days ago was the boxers.
The boxing one.
Which was great.
I learned a lot about boxing.
I didn't really know as a casual.
What's been your favorite one to shoot?
Well, I loved Tom and Peyton.
That was incredible.
I loved the one on bands with Jimmy Iveen and Rick Rubin.
And I love Doris Goodwin and John talking about, we just finished it.
Who would be on Rushmore if they weren't president?
That was unbelievable.
Shut up.
You called me up and said,
once I learned a ton.
Okay?
That was our lowest rated one, Pat.
That was the lowest rated one we got.
Maybe somebody was on some other stuff
and you were like into it at one point.
Well, listen, it is a good show.
It is a good show.
Rushmore is a great show.
And we just finished boxing and we were just down in Nashville.
We did country music.
Okay.
Yeah, we took the show on the road.
Debo?
You just have Debo live?
Deboone's got in the back.
Yeah.
Yeah, Debon's got in the back.
Loves country.
Yeah.
He goes.
He does.
Pat, can we talk boxing for one second?
Yes, sir.
This is a big.
Congratulations on Zoufa.
Thank you.
That's a big deal.
He's doing a bumper right now.
This isn't any self-promotion.
But to your question, AJ, I'm like, where's it going?
What's next?
What's hot?
Like, boxing is a big opportunity for us, right?
We got Dana White and Nick Con driving this.
Where is, there's a lot of history of fights that should have happened that didn't happen.
Corruption.
pay-per-view, closed circuit.
I mean, like, it really went away,
yet it's been around for 100 years.
So if we can make a UFC,
a boxing, think of that, really a
closed league. We're signing
200 fighters right now,
consistent fights, weight divisions
that you understand.
We're already on Paramount Plus, and we're about to announce
some international deals. This could become
the next behemoth. How close to the
international deals? Very, very.
Well, we should be announcing some of the next week.
Congratulations to Netflix.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Oh, no, no, okay, we're going another way.
I like that.
I like what you're doing.
Yeah, but when we did the big event for Netflix,
and at a Legion, there was 70,000 people.
Canell Crawford.
You realized kind of boxing is ingrained.
And I think that business for us could be as big as our UFC business and our WFC.
UFC right now, UFC and W.
WWE are $20 billion properties, 20 billion that were each.
So boxing, like, if it's five, if it's 10, give us some time.
Like, that's a huge grower.
That's why a lot of people.
You know, if I said this and I put out numbers, he would be freaking out.
It's all public.
It's all public information.
Of course, we're freaking out.
I can't believe like he got away with that.
It's incredible.
When people get excited about TK.O, that's one of the reasons they get excited.
And we like keeping our shareholders happy.
Let them know that everything that's happening here.
He kisses a lot of babies.
Yeah.
I'm shaking hand and kissing babies.
I do a lot of that, Ari.
That's kind of my thing, too.
Yeah, Connor has a question for you guys.
Yeah, Ari, you're going to answer first, but it's for both of you, the question.
I appreciate the order.
Now they don't even, they're afraid to say, Mara.
Yes, they should be.
They should be.
There's no fear.
Assumption, not fear.
But when you're looking at the UFC, the White House fight, the card, I think Dana
last week said he was working on it all week.
How is that shaping up?
And I believe the president's at 100,000 people stadium they're going to build.
What's the situation with that card?
Yeah, he's counting the fan fest in that.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
So at the White House, I think it's 3,000.
Yeah, 3, 4,000.
Intimate.
Yeah.
South Lawn.
So, and then there'll be other, in other areas.
And Dana's working on it right now.
There's going to be approximately six to seven fights June 14th.
14th, yes.
Flagday and our president's birthday.
No, just coincidence.
So he hasn't said to us.
I like it.
He hasn't said to us what the card's going to be,
but I know they're working pretty hard at it right now.
Okay, how do you feel about that coming together?
White House, your sport, everything like that,
because obviously whenever we chat about it,
it obviously draws a lot of things back.
I think sports are a great uniform.
I think we need to continue.
Exactly.
I think we need to continue to do that for the good.
By the way, that's a spectacle.
That's when we went last year to the sphere,
that White House event is a spectacle event.
I mean, I don't know.
It's going to be CBS Paramount.
I mean, I don't know who's not watching that fight.
Okay, and a quick follow-up.
What suit would you fight?
That's a good question.
There's so many that would want to kill me and I'd want to kill.
There's just so many.
He got an opportunity.
Yeah, would love it.
Hey, he's a wrestler, by the way.
Would love it.
Yeah, he's a suit that can get down in.
But there's a lot that would want to get in the ring and kill me.
He's in the later chapters here of his business career.
He's winding down.
He's cool.
He's calm.
Really?
You know.
He's a best.
No.
You know.
You know.
You know.
You know.
There's the politician he's trying to calm.
No, he's a really calm CEO, yeah.
Shut up.
But no fights.
He gets excited, but there's no, we're not, there's no fist to cost.
People are saying it.
It wasn't me saying it.
He called me yesterday.
He goes, it's down in the 80s, the fastball.
It wasn't me that said it was the other person I was on the call.
It was like, Ari, wow, I didn't expect you to understand something like that.
And I'm like, holy shit.
This guy just said Ari lost his fastball.
That is an incredible time.
Last question for you guys.
Go ahead, Ty.
Seeing as both of you guys are Bears fans,
have you thought about or come to grips with the possibility
that the Bears will be located in Gary, Indiana?
It's disgusting.
It's absolutely disgusting.
And what is going to happen there?
I thought you're a good business guy.
They're giving them the whole town.
So what's so wrong with it, Mark?
We do not.
They're called the Chicago Bears for reason.
I don't even like Arlington Heights.
I don't even like a dome on that stadium.
I mean, Hallis is turning over right now.
A dome in Chicago?
The elements, by the way, that Rams game was so good, even though we lost, because of the elements.
And you're taking that away, fuck off.
Who's taking...
Whoa!
Whoa!
Love it.
That came out by mistake.
Next time, if we ever get invited back, we're going to tell you this story about how we met.
It's a good story.
It's a total Ari Gold story and perfect classic...
He came in with a nerve gun?
We were on a plane.
Oh, nice.
Didn't know each other.
Happenstance.
And by the way, we went to, like, rival...
It feels like you're going to tell me a story.
No, we're rival high schools.
I mean, we're right by each other growing up in Chicago.
Lying back from New York.
And then we meet on a plane, though.
And, you know, in first class, of course, first class.
There's two seats and a middle seat, two seats in the middle.
Harry hasn't seen a commercial airline in about 20 years.
Okay, so wait a second.
I'm sitting there reading everything, and there's this guy, I'm in the middle because I won't
talk to anybody.
There's this guy sitting right next to me and a man at the window.
This guy's typing.
It's a Friday, 3 o'clock flight.
Just typing.
I've read everything about three and a half hours.
It's about a five-hour flight, winter.
After four hours, I'm like, what the effing is this guy doing?
I get up.
It's dark.
Keep in mind, it's dark.
I get up, guy at the window.
I said, get up, sit in my seat.
He goes, excuse me.
I said, what the F did you not understand?
Get up, sit in my seat.
Now, at that point, today's, I be arrested.
Yeah, yeah.
He gets up, sits in the seat.
I go, he's freaking out.
What's going on?
No, yeah, I didn't stop, though.
Yeah.
I turned my legs, I look at him, because I'm at the window.
What the F. are you doing?
Fast friends.
Really?
Yeah.
What was he doing?
Was he trying to get out of something?
The president's report for Bob Eiger and Michael Eisner.
At Disney.
At Disney.
Before he took over ESPN.
Take those New York to L.A. flights and get all your work done, right?
Yeah, good time.
He's editing.
Who actually gets up, though?
Think about that.
I mean, just, and he screams at the guy, and he actually gets up.
Yeah, look at him.
And now we got Marlene.
And guess what?
Guess what?
Fast friends.
Every Friday we would have a call because he had put on the only scripted show on ESPN, which was a hit.
Playmakers.
Playmakers.
Oh, it was great show.
Great show.
And we would then, I would try and sell them programming.
There would be tons of people on a call.
He wouldn't buy anything.
And then he, and then he said, take it easy.
Talk to you later.
You know, became fast friends after that.
Join the company.
He's like, I need somebody that.
can run with me, but also isn't afraid to say no.
And that's really how we got going.
That's an incredible relationship.
You two are a nice little tag team, I will say.
Thank you very much.
It is a good, yeah, and yeah, and kind of watching you guys balance there.
How do you feel about the new head of Disney?
Great.
He's incredible.
Josh is terrific.
You guys are, like, watching that.
That's pretty big deals.
All those moves are big for you guys, right?
He's a great guy.
Dana Walden, incredible, really good executive team.
They're huge partners of ours, right?
And now we have all our PLEs from WWE on.
on ESPN direct to consumers.
So we want them to do well.
We would like them to do well.
Yeah, certainly we would do.
On that note, I don't know if you heard the conversation with Teper.
I was already negotiating with him.
I don't know if you heard it.
I did not.
The number's only going up.
You're negotiating with the right guy.
Yes, I am.
Get the checkbook out, baby.
You're right.
I appreciate the hell out of you guys.
Thank you for everything you've done for us.
Thank you so much.
You're the man.
Ladies and gentlemen, Ari and Mark Shapil.
I appreciate it.
You too.
Thank you there, man.
It makes you guys really shake those hands at this fanatics fest.
Hey, make sure you go, hey, Mark,
hey, make sure you go shake those hands at this fanatics fest.
Make sure you're shaking all the hands.
Mark, all the hands.
Okay, all right, all right, Mark, all right, all right, all right.
See you, see you.
Okay, all right.
Mark's still talking about playmakers back there.
I get it.
Say it was great showing.
I don't know what's happening.
He is always at 100 miles an hour.
And then Ari is always just like God of a thousand.
Which one?
They have a great little team.
Mark always comes in with us off.
You know, there's like good cop and then there's Ari and then there's more coming in.
Well, what he means by that is actually this, this and this.
Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now is a guy who not only looks sweet,
has a new haircut, friend of the program, up for a bunch of awards,
and only going to continue to do as such.
Oos out of BYU, wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams.
Pook!
Oh, yeah.
Oh, wow.
Look at those shoes.
Wow.
Wow, there's a boots down there.
Wow, puka.
Puka, puca.
Sweat pants are sweet.
Yeah.
Would you call them sweatpants?
Need me something.
I didn't think so.
Linen, but I can see they're cotton.
Linen.
Yeah.
A blend, if you will.
We're talking about the fabric of your pants.
Let's talk about how cool you look.
You look very cool.
You like the shoes?
Look at them.
Okay, so there's our boots, modified boots.
100%.
This is one of my teammates.
Jesse, he's on our team this year.
This is his brand.
He got the shoes.
I'm like, trying to make sure I'm rocking for the boy.
I thought it looked good for my house.
Yeah, what's the name of them?
Do you know?
Akami.
Akami?
Akami.
Akami.
Akami.
Tell us about the season.
Obviously, you went crazy, dude.
New haircut, by the way.
He looks good.
I appreciate it.
What went into the decision?
That feels like a big decision.
It was.
I'm like, my mom looks at, though,
so I feel a lot better about it.
I was a little concerned.
When I got off the chair and I woke up that next morning,
and I felt the back of my head.
I said, I'm bald as hell.
I'm like, I'm losing it all.
I feel a lot better now.
Like, somebody told me I looked good yesterday.
I was like, all right, say less.
Luke, I think you're going to look good doing whatever.
And let alone your paychecks, which are only going to grow.
But you're incredibly handsome, affable, and awesome,
which is why we love you.
Incredible season for you guys.
Obviously, quarterback wins the MVP last night.
He announces he's coming back.
Can you take us through the ride that was the year for the Los Angeles Rams?
Man, when they're showing the freaking highlights of our
season and they're showing highlights to the other team and we got to watch our freaking block field goal
kick against the eagles and I'm like god short in my lot I love you so much dude and I'll punch
you square in the face. I'm like we have beef right now and I'm like I'm like as it was I never got to watch
us throw a missed freaking pass on fourth down and I'm like I got coach McVe behind me and Matthew Stafford to
my right and all his daughters and I'm like I shouldn't say the F word right now but I really really
want to yeah reliving in the end I'm like I don't care where coach Roger Goodell is that I'm gonna say it I'm like I'm
hot mic right now and I'm still going to say it but it was so fun I'm like I Matthew's the
absolute best he's the absolute dog him he makes it so fun I knew he was coming back and I still
almost at a front flip in front of my mom I'm like it was too awesome like E40 was out there I'm like
we in the Bay Area I was trying yeah you were getting it you were getting it I was trying
hey we're teed up at the spot but yeah your energy your energy is immaculate and so everybody
knew everybody from the Rams knew Stafford was going to say he was coming back or is that kind of just
a few?
I wouldn't say everybody knew.
I'm like, I hope he didn't tell everybody.
I wanted to feel special.
I thought that conversation is between me and him, but who knows?
AJ has a question for you, but yeah, when you talk about Matthew Staff,
we're like, how is he still doing?
His MVP, was he 39?
Is that correct?
He's 30, 37, 35.
Whatever it is.
70.
How have you guys grown, like, since you've gotten there, like, and played with him,
how has your, like, relationship grown from day one until now?
How does it feel?
Oh, I'm like, from day one to now, I'm like, he, he's,
can't stop me from talking.
When I got there, I didn't say it where.
There was just him going on.
And like, this is where I needs you to be.
This is what's play.
This is where you're lining up.
Hey, when I tell you that I tag you at the end of the play,
make sure you do what I told you to do,
we have some conversations now.
I try to keep him updated to what's going on in the world.
It's 2026.
I'm like, I know you got four young daughters.
I'm just trying to prepare you for what's going on, coach.
That's very nice of you.
That's good teammate, especially with how
potentially out of touch you would be when he's sleeping in a trailer
with the immortal.
Are you in there?
I'm in the most of the best 50 minutes of
my life. I'm like, I unplugged from the world. What do you do? I'm like, you put on this little,
like little nose thing. There's a lady that she has the most soothing voice. You all have played
a robot lady. It's a robot lady. All of you have played Halo. Sure. What is the,
Cortana? Cortana. It's, yes, it's literally her voice while you're laying down, red light
comes down, you got the whole thing in your nose. It's 50 minutes. Is it oxygen?
50? 50. 50? 50. Where is that? At the facility? They have a couple different options you can do,
about like 50. Yeah, I'm like, yeah, they have a trailer. You guys. You guys.
saw the old air stream like 1992 or 54 whatever it was i'm like no i don't have those vehicles
anymore i'm like so i don't know what that is 54 92 one of them yeah nine plus two equals
is it over your whole body red light over 11 yeah there's one math in there yeah we got a lot of
numbers coming together yeah my routes go to 15 yards oh yeah we tried i'm like hey we ran
double moves off and asked tarreek wool and i'm like that's my god but i'm like hey that 15
yards you're gonna chat to your feet i'm out of there
You got the speed, but you got a pull away speed, by the way, which is so weird because of how powerful you are.
You're not supposed to be as explosive and breakaway as you are as you are powerful.
You're an anomaly, Puka.
And maybe it's because you guys are all asleep.
Everybody's in this thing?
Everybody.
Coach McVeigh is in the morning.
He's got a little attitude of the run install didn't have that great.
I'm like, coach, let me rephrase that.
Coach has a tough morning because we all weren't listening to what he was going out.
I didn't communicate what I needed to do or where he wanted me to be on that motion.
But when he goes and gets into the immortal and we come back and we have a great walk-through.
I'm like, it's fantastic.
God.
It's the future.
It's like the future.
They're sending that's one for the office, right?
Yeah, I can't wait.
We're going to park that thing right inside the entire Thunderdome.
DeBund has a question for you.
Obviously, it's super important in the relationship you have with your quarterback, but you came
into the league.
You had Cup there to kind of take you under his wing.
And then you got Devante Adams and one of the best route runners, one of the best wide
receivers in his generation.
What's it been like being his teammate?
And what did you do differently outside of the chamber this year?
Because you dominated wire to wire.
Every defense knows.
12's getting the ball, where is he going to be, but you still dominated with another guy who led the league in touchdowns like, what was it like this year?
What did you do differently?
Man, I can think about the first time we're in February.
We don't run slants in our offense.
I don't know.
We're in the opposite season, so I can say these things.
You can watch the tape.
It doesn't really matter.
Coach Rick May is still going to find a way to scheme you up and get us the ball.
You can try your best.
But I'm thinking about that we're in April and I'm standing on the 40-yard line.
I'm right behind number 17.
He's running a stop route.
the ground is shaking as he's stopping.
He's 20, 20 yards away from me.
Then boom, boom, boom, transition, out the break.
Three steps, technique, sound, crisp.
And it's April.
And I'm like, I got to be better.
I got to be better.
I got so much to work on.
And the communication and the understanding of trying to be on the same page.
Obviously, it was our quarterback, but then on the same page as a great,
wide receiver and I'm grateful for that guy.
We had so much fun together, one, two, and one seven.
I played high school football wearing ankle sock because of Devante Adams,
but when we walk out in there on the football film, I'm like, he's dapping me up.
He's like, go do your thing 12.
And I'm like, bro, I don't made myself the quarterback so I could throw you to ball,
bro.
We got a handshake, we flexing, we're doing everything on them.
And it was cool to think about, yeah, and they said at the beginning of the NFL season
that the Rams were going to have the best wide receivers.
receiver room and to walk out of this season and say that we were the we were the best wide receiver room and every single week you had to make sure that you're going to try to stop us and you couldn't it's a great feeling oh no I said yesterday right to Jamar Chase and T. Higgins they're the best duo oh oh yeah they didn't make the playoffs how could they be the best I know I'm just saying I said it right to their face yesterday well they were here I'm like you can you can retract the statement look at the camera look at it in the single show are you guys do this they're the
The stats would say that you two by far?
Stats would say he led the league in receiving touchdowns.
I think I led the league in receptions.
I'm like, we had probably almost 3,000 yards.
I'm like, there's a whole lot of touchdowns on the field.
Do you know the quarterback's name for Chicago?
The Iceman.
There you go.
So this year's best water receiver, though, certainly in the Los Angeles range.
Wait, wait.
You should wait until he shoots.
Jamar did make his first shot.
Oh, yeah, and you are a Uber.
Yeah, and you are.
Okay, hold on, can we ask you one more question?
Oh, 100%.
I'm like, he's just calling me out in front of everybody.
It's my job to step up to the plate, coach.
And that's why we love you, Pooka.
By the way, Chayin's sick.
Everything is awesome, right?
Tone has the last question for you before you have to shoot a hoot.
Another reason why we love you.
The Patriots guys, didn't have any questions for me?
No, he does.
We don't know how much time you have?
You got to kick me out already?
Oh, my God.
Oh, my.
Oh, my.
Oh, oh.
Big Ogoose.
Don't get offended so easily, but another reason why we love you
is because you're so tapped into everything,
which leads me to a question.
Do you have plans to go skydiving anything?
I think I can fly.
I'm like, I believe it.
I'm like, the world is our oyster.
That's what they say, Coach.
And I'm pretty confident I could do skydiving thing.
I'm like, there's a lot of things that make you feel a rush
and a thrill in life.
It was a good tweet.
I think one of those would be good.
Those are the best two words I've ever said in my life, Coach.
Not only that.
I remember when I never tied,
needed to go to the hospital
and everywhere in Los Angeles,
you put them on your back
and walked him all the way
to the hospital,
so thank you for doing that.
I remember Tone's dog was running free.
You picked that thing up and you saved it.
And I brought it back to his house
and I was like everything.
I fed it,
I gave it this treat.
I took it to Starbucks.
We got a little puppy cup.
He flew us private on his own dime.
That was very nice of you to do that.
You were the pilot.
That's so cool of you.
Remember I did the helicopter?
I brought us all out.
Yeah.
I'm like, Pat,
remember when we went to Indianapolis,
You showed me how to do all of these things, but I was like, I showed up in it because of you.
And the way you cook, too, I mean.
The only thing was ever done wrong is lie about being a good boller.
Oh, yeah.
What happened with the bowling?
I forget.
You kind of asked, weren't you asked, or were you really good?
I don't remember.
I was amazing.
I'm not going to do it again.
You show me your bowling.
Stand right here and show me your bowling.
Set it up.
Here we go.
Act as if rain shine is here.
Yep, okay, Ray and shine.
We just started the game.
My name's Swaggy P at the top of it.
This is I just went strike.
First frame, sailed, done and over.
We had a cool intro animation.
And, oh, that's right down the gun.
Look, right?
No, no, it's right to the left.
Check the watch.
Pretty good.
Check the watch.
What do you think?
You are.
He is.
We're not bowling with the bumpers.
We're grown men.
We're not bowling with the bumpers.
You needed the bumpers.
That was a part of the problem.
We watched your shit last year.
I think we were forced to watch it, weren't we?
It's awful.
And it was the worst bowling I've ever seen.
You guys asked me to do that.
I know, yeah, yeah.
It's 100% on us.
Yeah, we do a lot of stuff for us.
We are selfish.
Are you excited for the game coming up?
Am I excited for the game?
Yeah, I mean, it's the only thing I think about poker for the last two weeks.
I hope that's all I'm like, I hope you're praying to the Tom Brady gods because it's.
Well.
Well, he's not even on the Patriots, actually.
No, they're going to need him.
Somebody's going to have to adopt his skills before that game happens.
Whoa.
Oh, Drake.
You talked a lot of shit on Indianapolis, do you remember that?
I don't have any beef with Indianapolis.
I just don't think anybody actually wants to be there.
I'm like, I don't.
Hey.
No harm, no foul.
I'm just telling you my thoughts.
I apologize.
I'm like, I love that you're there, but you never invite me anymore.
What?
Is that real?
You're too busy.
That's not true.
Too busy.
I'm like, I'll drop out.
I'm like, I try to call Zito every Tuesday and he never answers my phone.
No, Zino's moved out of the back room.
He's taken care of the first.
All right.
Here's the deal.
Representing the number one wide receiver room in the NFL.
Tay, you heard him saying.
Tay definitely makes this, I think.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Watch the brah highlights for every game.
Yeah.
Every game, bro.
This dude is 40, and he'd be doing it.
I was like, that's how, I'm like, that's our quarterback.
It's just like our quarterback, brother.
25 years, you'd be showing us highlights.
So I'm like, yo, this film is great.
Yeah.
The film is great, dude.
They got nothing on the field.
They don't even, I'm like, this is absolutely insane.
He's leaving the Lakers, though?
Is that what's happening?
What do you?
I know trade deadline came and gone, but they're saying, Shams's saying, Shams had rough.
Shams.
Boy, Sean.
It's all right, Shams.
Stand tall, Shams.
Stand in there, Shams.
He had tough one.
He's been saying for a long time, Yonis probably gone.
And then.
Jonas is gone?
Well, it was true.
And then they flipped at the last second.
And Yonis said, I ain't going anywhere.
And now Shams looks like the village idiot again.
I like what they did to a show.
It's like him and Miles Garrett.
I'm like, I hate, I don't want to be here.
Hey, hey, look, I'm back, guys.
I think so, everybody.
I appreciate it.
Yes.
Yes.
Buka's starring in a Toyota Super Bowl commercial.
Let's go.
Hey, we're coming out to Daytona.
I'm going to Daytona 500.
Let's go.
What are you doing?
Are you a starter?
You driving?
What are you doing?
Me and Bubba Wallace.
I'm going to be right next to Bubba Walls.
We're riding around in our Toyota car.
Skydiving in, maybe, with a date.
Now we're talking about it.
Hopping into a race.
car American flag me you know bald eagle Sydney Sweeney foo
wow parachute we're coming down hey I think it'll be pretty cool
I think it's kind of guide around so I think it'll be able to find out hey see look
over here this is the other side of Daytona hey if you ever here it's where the
adult ballets are in Daytona here and here and the beaches look at look at the ocean
tell it bring out the whole ocean right here look at us oh and they can do a whole
moana thing right now you want to get into it make way
Make way.
Yeah, these are all ideas.
Great ideas.
I'm just rolling off the top.
Congrats on the Toyota commercial.
That's a big deal.
I couldn't believe it.
I'm like, it's a blessing.
I haven't showed it to my mom.
I'm like, they've obviously sent a rough draft over it.
But I'm like, I want to be watching the game with my mom and like see her, like, reaction to it.
Like, it'll be really cool.
I didn't even tell my mom about the thing with Tiffany last night.
I'm like, I think I hope, hopefully my mom thought it was cool.
I'm like, hopefully Tiffany thinks I'm cool.
Your mom thinks it's cool.
Your mom thinks it's cool.
You are cool.
Because you let me hang out with you.
That's the only reason.
Yeah, right.
It all started.
It's all started with you.
And the, uh, the sweatpancies and the, uh, the sweatpancies in the, uh, what do we got going on here, coach?
That's gold, yeah.
Goal brick.
You know the deal?
That's real.
Mm-hmm.
Are you waiting for me to shoot a shot or?
Yeah.
You don't think you're going to make it or no.
You don't look satisfied, coach.
What do?
What do I need to do?
What?
Come on.
Me and.
Yeah.
We've had a long night.
Who you talked to you?
Both of you.
I'm like, you got the Patriots, I know you're not satisfied.
It's been a tough couple weeks.
I'm like, you've been surprised you got that much hair on your head still.
I mean, I don't know why you're saying this to me.
If we want to go into the NFC title game about you guys blowing it, we can't.
No, does that.
I'm not talking about it.
I'm standing.
Hey, hey.
I'm standing high.
Hey, please, I hope you guys said, hey, you guys ran one trick plan at work.
I'm like, you better pray to the gods.
You have five of them in the back pocket coach.
We didn't even score.
I know.
I know.
We didn't think we didn't matter.
You guys couldn't score.
You guys couldn't score.
That's actually what happened.
That's in the past.
We scored enough, brother.
We don't need to score that much.
No, 100% of them.
Like, in order to win this game,
I'm like, you guys better pray
that Tom Brady walks out on that field.
I don't think so.
No, I'm comfortable with this guy right here.
Boom.
Head coach.
Okay?
Maybe you'll get one.
How about the lady yesterday?
She said the winner of the coach of the year,
Mike Vable.
Yeah, yeah, that's good.
Verbal?
Verbal.
Verbal?
Yeah.
I'm like, I can't read, but I know she can't.
As we wrap up here on ESPN with Pooka Nakua, noted reader.
We will continue digitally.
Oh, insane Shain-oh is here.
Oh, Shain-Oh, yeah.
Did he see all the boys here?
Cowboy, how's it going there?
Can I ask what that mouth do?
Is that crazy?
Sorry, what?
He's got the best mouth on the Internet, dude.
He does.
He looks at him.
He's got a marshmallow.
Throw it over here.
Pat, are you going to be mad at me?
No, yeah, we got 10 seconds, Shane.
No, no, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry.
Shane, we're about to miss it, Shane.
And I want to shoot a basketball, so you better hurry up.
Kobe.
Boom, Shane.
Don't.
COVID.
Hey, we got 10 seconds.
He's got to come.
All right, we continue to digitally.
Have an incredible Super Bowl weekend.
We'll make our picks.
We'll be back for overreaction Monday.
The best.
All right, we'll see you then.
Hey, great work, Shano.
Had a baby, Shane.
You killed it, Shano.
Good catch.
Have you ever missed one?
When did you start just sucking down
everything that was tossed your mouth way.
What's that? Can you come
to his podium? Powerlifter?
All right. Yeah. Powerlifter. These are the worst
marshmallows in the world.
That's because it was in his mouth. He doesn't eat
him. He spit that thing right in your mouth.
Spits him out. I got a second one.
Show me that technique. I want to see it.
The keystering one? You just make sure you get them
into the game? I think you say no. Shane, oh,
are you coming up? Mike comes high for me.
Shane, I apologize. We have it set up for
different Joe Flacco was there yesterday.
Normal size humans.
Insano, Shano, we saw you at the college football
playoffs. Then I went through a rabbit hole of
your shit. You do have the best mouth on your
net. I appreciate that. Pause.
Yeah, well, no pause, though.
No pause, though.
Can you explain how you and your friend, is Fat Stafford here
with you? Fat Stafford right here. Yeah, Fat Stafford back there
did not win an MVP. Do you know Fat Stafford? Do you
know this crew? I know. I'm like, where
is you? You're pretty, I'm pretty
We got to hit you in the nuts, dude.
I'm not, I don't know.
I don't know how it works.
The videos, I've seen the videos.
That's how it works, dude.
I'm like, you showed up here.
I'm like, we're going to throw something at you.
Yeah, so when did you guys decide?
Assume the position.
Yeah, that was going to be your thing.
You just start tossing stuff at each other.
I appreciate how good you guys are throwing shit at each other.
I appreciate, yeah.
Thanks a lot of talent.
A lot of practice.
Invita Coco is paying you guys to be here?
Yeah, yeah.
That's good.
When can I get invited to the lake?
I'm a lake boy.
Come on.
Can we get on the boat?
Yes, sir?
The way you just said for sure, that was the biggest line.
He was like, yeah, yeah, for sure, bro.
Like I'm a little kid, bro, come on.
Yeah, we'll let you on a boat, kid.
I'm driving the boat.
Can I throw you on the boat?
Can I throw you a marshmallow here through this?
You think you can get through here?
Yeah, I think so.
Oh, shit.
Come on, bro.
Was it heavy?
Those gimmick was marshmallows.
He just, this thing's pretty thick.
I did not expect the thickness of this thing.
The girth is why it's good for his mind.
That's why it's going to go to him.
It's crazy.
Oh, no.
Overhand.
All right, this one.
Yeah.
Yeah.
What is that?
Yeah, there you go.
$25 milligrams.
Get you that.
Get you got a couple.
You got another one.
Yeah, hold on.
You spit it out.
Yeah, you want to spit that one out.
Shano, you know.
A couple of substances in there.
That's right.
We're going to want to get rid of those.
That's right.
We're throwing back in here.
Sano.
We appreciate you.
I can catch it.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you, brother.
I'll catch it.
Okay, Puka, you got to actually shoot here for real.
All right.
Charity Super Show.
Coach, what you got on the wrist?
I got a little...
Looks good.
I'm like, a little bite link.
I just want to be like, you, man.
Are you going to come to NBA All-Star weekend?
I'm like, that's where it all started.
Do you remember that?
Yeah, we went to bat for you to play.
You're supposed to play.
No, I know.
That's why I'm like, I had to show out.
I'm like, everybody told me that I...
My team said, do not step in the paint.
I said, I got to show up for Big Oos.
And you did.
He put me on.
Yeah, and you're a great player.
I think I'm going to go back this weekend.
Are you coming to L.A.?
No, no, no.
You're not?
Are you going to come to Daytona?
Daytona, yeah.
We never miss that.
We're skydiving in with you, I think.
I'm like, I'll tell Bubba, hey, Bubba, I really love you, dude.
I mean, you just scoot over, so me and pack and drive the car.
I mean, consider racist, I think, if you did that, you need to stop to think about it.
You kick black bubble wall or something put me in there?
What is this?
NASCAR, Jesus Christ.
Just give him the Ted McMillan thing.
Yeah, yeah, you're right, the Ted McMillan.
I forgot.
I forgot about that.
Yeah.
Give him on another.
We're taking days for the culture, brother.
He's good.
Yeah, of course.
All right, charity super shot here with Puka.
If you make it on your first attempt, we'll give $20,000 to a charity of your choosing.
If it's a second or third attempt, only $10,000.
Are we losing money over here?
No, we're making money.
We're making the world a better place.
I thought we were doing more.
I'm like, you're always taking care of everybody.
Oh, you want $50,000.
Oh, man.
That would have been nuts.
Yeah, that would have been.
Very casual.
Okay, $50,000, so charity of your choosing.
Oh, you're a brawn guy.
But when you shoot it is-
Okay, okay, understandable.
I agree.
You got to say, I just wasn't sure.
Kobe's elbows tucked.
Am I supposed to-
Oh, come on, bro.
That's a rock.
There's no reason he shouldn't catch that in his mouth.
All right, last shot here, Puka.
Last shot.
$50,000 to a charity or choosing.
Have you made a shot?
What's up?
Have you made the shot?
Yeah, but not on camp, you know.
Oh, I'll give you the opportunity.
No, it's your word.
It's 50 grams.
It's a word.
50 grand.
I just want to see him shoot.
Like, this is not for 50 grams.
but when I shoot it would be for the grad.
So what do you want to say?
You're saying for him?
You're paying for this one?
I'll pay for this one.
Oh.
I knew I wasn't going to pay for you.
I had.
All right, this guy sucks.
Okay.
Can he bold?
It's a belabble.
Last one.
Hey, this is your last attempt.
We have somebody in the back who's a national champion.
Okay, please have a little respect for him.
Tips and overthrows.
Got a hat off.
That's a champion.
You know.
It's not BYU.
Oh.
Dude, I mean, if I was playing everybody that's in their division, I wouldn't have won't to shoot.
Oh, you're out.
We love you, dude.
Bailey, don't eat both of those.
Hey, buddy.
See you best.
You don't eat both of those, Bailey.
See, coach.
For your journey.
Yeah.
I'm telling you what, if he would hate this.
Come on.
Pook, you're the man.
All right, coach.
Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now is an absolute icon.
A man whose name is going to be synonymous with greatness.
a man who's going to have a statue
and maybe multiple
cities that he stops at through his
playing in football career.
We are thankful he chose to head
to Bloomington, Indiana, from
Cal Berkeley. Ladies and gentlemen,
national champion quarterback, future
first pick of the NFL draft.
Fernando Mendoza!
Yeah! Big old dude!
Yes. Yes. Six-five.
Yeah, he's a giant.
Tye kind of
Sicilian out there.
Jeez.
You're out of handle it. You're a superstar.
You crush it on Jimmy Fallon.
I appreciate it. Thank you. I got a lot of, you know, I mean, you guys taught me.
You guys all taught me.
Thank you. You're welcome.
And I saw you guys had Aiden Fisher on the show.
Yeah.
It was like a week ago.
And you are right.
You guys have some amazing fits.
And they're on the back of the end zone.
And so it was like third down and goal before the fourth down touchdown.
I'm like, wow, those guys have some good fits.
Like, they're crazy.
Thank you.
Jake Paul, Roe, you're blue.
Okay.
Roasting is he was all fired up.
He had his jaw restructured to.
You know, who knows where he was at the time.
A little signet jaw there.
It was a little signet jaw.
Let's talk about your jaw.
You're a tough dude, bro.
Appreciate it.
Hey, let's talk about the fourth and five.
The Fernando special.
Yeah.
Impossible finish for you in your hometown.
When you decide to go and give it a go,
and I think the field goal is potentially out there,
then now we're going to go for it.
And then you take it for yourself and you make that play.
In your mind, are you thinking about anything?
thinking about how all of your work your entire life leads to this one play.
Like how do you kind of compartmentalize that?
And then immediately afterward, what is the sense throughout your entire body?
Like, we probably just won the national championship
or maybe the greatest play in the history of Indiana football.
Honestly.
Yeah, when we put it like that, you make it seem like the last scene of a movie or something like that.
Which it will be.
If it will be, yeah.
Honestly, I thought, I thought we're going to kick the field goal.
I was like, okay, let's get up six points.
You know, keep it in range.
Our defense is great, great defense.
Let's just kick the field goal.
He called fourth and five and it's a quarterback drop play.
And I'm like, man, like, game on the line, I want to throw the ball, but screw it.
Like, whatever, I'll run the ball.
And ended up dropping back, have a little eyes away.
And I just started going.
And when I started going, I'm not supposed to go to the left because the lines like sliding that way.
And I just take a U-turn of the right.
It's like, I missed the wrong exit on maps.
All of a sudden, I'm getting pinballed back and forth.
Apple Maps will do that.
And it was, yeah, Apple Maps will do that.
That'll screw you.
And then all besides I see the end zone.
I blacked down.
I just reached out, and it was phenomenal.
I honestly can't thank God enough because I don't know how I'm not that athletic.
That was God.
Yes, you are.
I think obviously God is a massive part of you being that athletic,
but I don't think a lot of people have seen you play ball.
I think a lot of people think, oh, Cal Berkeley transfer.
This guy is Cal Berkeley guy.
He goes to Indiana, Indiana.
Okay, that is a NIL transfer portal conversation.
We don't need to have.
Cow to Indiana.
Sweet.
That is not real.
And then all of a sudden, the way you take to Indiana,
and the way the team kind of buys in.
And you and Signetti do it.
It's one of the most special seasons
in the history of college football.
Undefeated the most amount of games since, what, Yale and, like,
whatever.
1894, yeah.
1894 or whatever.
When you guys are getting into that run of the playoffs,
you feel something special, you feel like you're playing your best ball at the right time,
and how do you guys kind of manage that?
And what were the conversations like through the run?
Well, first of all, was your wife excited?
Was she hot?
Yeah, she was down there.
I just want to let you know the amount we paid for a suite to watch you do that.
Worth every penny.
Some of these bad boys, right?
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
But it was a special night man for Indiana, but honestly, nobody really expected it.
Even though Indiana had a good year last year, your transfer, everybody thought it was kind of over.
At what point you guys realized, like, hey, we do have something special here.
And then playoffs, you just smack folks around.
When did you guys know, you think?
So when I first got to Indiana, and everybody always says player-led teams are the best teams.
And when you see Aiden Fisher, Pat Coogan, really putting people in line,
and really said, hey, we're expecting to win.
We're not on any of that losing stuff.
And really, like, really holding people accountable,
I was like, oh, we're going to be special right here.
We're going to be special.
And we had a little three-game stretch where we killed Illinois,
then we came back from Iowa.
We beat Oregon.
I'm like, oh, we're going to be a good team.
We're going to be in the college football playoff.
Then after we beat Ohio State, we all were like,
we're going to win this whole thing.
I mean, I'm sorry, AJ, but after we beat Ohio State,
we have the confidence.
I mean, Coach Sig always made sure to humble us
because he's very humbling.
But after that game, we have the confidence
and no matter what, we're a resilient team.
So we can go down, but we know all the boys are going to
rally together and end up putting a good drive together
and end up stealing a game.
Yeah, fun team to watch.
AJ Ohio State Buckeye has a question for you.
Yeah, I guess what's the plane look like now?
Like, where are you going to work out?
What are you going to do?
You're the presumed number one overall pick,
obviously, how that goes.
Now you are, dude.
Yeah, who are you going to work out with?
What are you going to do with the combine?
Have you thought anything about the whole throw-ins?
which you don't need to do anything to combine honestly but have you thought about all of that going
forward yeah so talking about all of my agent and at the combine you know you're throwing at different
receivers the whole different thing and i want to make sure i give my guys the best chance so
i want to throw a pro day with my guys with my running backs and be there with the boys the combine i don't
think throwing is going to be a priority just because it's such a quick turnaround january 19th
i mean i feel bad like a lot of the guys in our team like luckily i'm in a better position that i don't
got to throw in the combat but a lot of our guys we had
Kalon Black playing the Senior Bowl.
Yeah.
Game 17, that's a true NFL season.
You know, and all the other guys, they're busting their butt, training already.
And, you know, I've started training already down here in California.
And it's just been a great process.
And like everybody always says, whenever I watch interviews or ask former NFL players, like you guys, they say, hey, this is an eight-week interview.
You got to give it your all, limited distractions, and really lock in because where you go and how you set yourself up in front of these GMs and in front of these teams is going to be.
change your life forever. So I'm making sure
my head of the grindstone, and
like you said, I just want to help my guys pro day
throw to the boys. Okay, on that note, your
rookie year is your longest year regardless.
Now that your rookie college seasons
are longer than they've ever been. I mean, we're about
to learn a lot about you guys.
I mean, you guys are going to be like case studies on
what is going to be college football
into the NFL because how long that season was.
Did it feel like
a grunt? Because you guys are beating hell out of
everybody. I mean, the extra games, you guys
are smoking everybody. But it's a long time.
That is a very, very long season together.
You guys were able to stay healthy, I guess.
Is that kind of a massive piece of it?
Well, how would you kind of describe the run?
Our strength coach did a great job, but it's an NFL season.
And with a college format nowadays, we didn't play, we didn't basically play a game in the month of December.
So stupid.
So it's so weird.
You're there playing Ohio State December 6, and you have a whole entire break until January 1st.
So it was like really kind of a weird patch where you can recover, but you're also anticipating the Rose Bowl.
And I don't know about the system.
It would just, yeah, that was really weird.
It made the season feel a lot longer than it is.
But whenever, as a fan, whenever, or, you know, a former NFL fan, because now I'm going to be playing in the NFL.
Yeah.
Whenever you hear, congrats.
Whenever you hear NFL players talk about, wow, the season's long, is a toll on the body.
As a quarterback playing 16 games, and honestly, like the Miami game was a fight, the Ohio State game was a fight.
But every game in the NFL, the margins are small, and they're all going to be like that.
So to go through 16 games that are going to be dog fights, I can see how it takes a toll on the
and it's going to be crazy because most players get a month off, two weeks off,
but January 19th straight to draft training.
So like you said, we're lab rats right now.
Yes, you are.
I mean, God, please keep us out because.
Amen.
I think the more people learn about you through his draft process, the more they're going to like you.
You're huge.
Yes.
I mean, you're absolutely huge.
Your accuracy is outrageous.
There was a story I think Jen Lata told me about, about Surrott maybe sending you videos
of back shoulders before the season.
Is that accurate?
That is accurate.
Okay, that becomes a massive piece of your offense.
I think your ability to spin the ball is a separator.
I think your accuracy is outrageous.
I think your athleticism is crazy.
I think your toughness.
As you project to the NFL, you've got to be very excited about how you're going to handle the men's league, right?
I think you feel pretty comfortable about what's coming.
Yeah.
The NFL and college are two different skill sets.
The NFL, you need to be able to process it faster, get tougher and get smarter.
And so I'm really excited for the new challenge and opportunity that's going to,
because there's going to be some failures rookie year.
But I'm excited to turn those failures into success.
Because it's going to be a new skill set and there's going to be a learning curve.
Everybody always says the quarterbacks I've talked to is the most I've learned is using my rookie year
just because of the jump.
And so I'm really excited for that.
And like you said, with Surat, and it's all about the preparation with the guys.
So however the rookie year goes, I know at the end of my rookie year, no matter, you know, whatever happens,
I know I'm going to be able to put my head on my pillow and sleep well at night knowing I did everything possible to have the best rookie year possible, however it goes.
And you go to Planet Fitness every day to get after it?
Or what are you?
Well, you know, Signetti, I mean, he's a tough cookie.
And after the season, he, I mean, Cignette said, hey, I had enough of human nose.
I kicked you out.
So now I can't go back to Indiana.
So now I'm working on Planet Fitness, you know, $15 a month right here.
And, you know, before Radio Row get a quick workout in.
And like you said, I mean, I'm in draft prep.
And draft prep, obviously I love hanging out with the boys.
But draft prep is number one.
And so I got to stay prepared, got to stay, you know, ahead of the edge.
Because a guy like me, like you said, although I'm a big guy, I'm not the
I'm not the strongest.
I'm not the most athletic, but I got to stay ahead of the edge and stay head of the curve,
and the planet fitness allows me to do that.
You're way more athletic than people just look at you.
Yeah, way more strong and tough than what people look at you.
I'm excited for people to learn about you.
There's free fitness training included with all memberships at Planet Fitness.
Okay.
Planet Fitness has thousands of locations across the country, many of which are up in 24 hours a day.
That's huge.
If you want to do the Mendoza midnight hours, you can kind of get in there and get after it.
Ain't that right, Fernando?
That's exactly right.
You're saying, you go hang with the boys, drinking water, go to playing fitness, get a second, third workout.
You got to do your thing?
Dr. Dr. Water, that's hilarious.
Okay.
Here's with the boys as well.
Go ahead, Dee, bud.
I want to go back to that National Championship, and you talked about it's a movie.
And you've been back at home, you know, with your little brother, obviously, Ponds.
You got Jamarie Shabwe got the game winning interception.
What was that like mentally going into that game, knowing that's the stadium?
That's the stadium you grew up basically looking at the team you probably rooted for as a kid,
and that's where you could end it with the trophy you did.
How was that going to be?
into the game though. Yeah, I'm going to go back to this. This is a blessing my God because all the guys
that are from Miami, Sharp, DeAngelo Pons, those guys had some of their best, their best games.
And myself, also being from Miami, having, you know, a great play there, all the guys from Miami
elevated their game in the national championship in front of their families. So what a special
moment for all of those guys. But, you know, other than the national championship, I want to talk to you
about this AI stuff. Oh, okay. You know, we're always, you know, I'm on, you know, my friends are like,
Come on. I mean, obviously, great NFL player, but always talking about Fernando Mendoza's AI.
Oh, no.
You know, we're not real.
Like that.
Yeah.
We got a talk about it.
Oh, you're real.
You're South Florida kid.
I just asked your question.
You gave me an A.
Look, I'm the AI.
I got a certificate in A.
Yeah, he does.
I think I can spot him, but I was wrong.
We talk about it all the time.
I think you'll be great in a locker room.
Like, this is a part of it.
I got to fuck with you.
No doubt.
No doubt.
No doubt.
And honestly, the reason that, I mean, I took a lot.
a lot of public speaking courses.
I never thought I was going to make it in football.
Her boy was a two-star recruit
committed to Yale.
I'm like, I got to make those networks somehow.
I got to try to get a skull and bones.
I got to try to...
Oh, trying to be president.
Okay.
You know a little bit what you're coming.
No, I'm joking.
I know it's all jokes.
Of course, man.
I'm just like that.
I appreciate it.
You talk about being with the boys, though.
I think that's the part that really elevated
in my eyes because of the AI thing.
You are Cal Berkeley.
You're a nerd.
You are a nerd.
You are a nerd as well.
Yeah.
But you're allowed to be.
Like nerds have been very good at football for a long time.
But I think that some traits of some nerds is not able to connect with like meatheads or like sport people.
I think you have been able to connect to your teammates and you like go out of your way to be able to do that.
Drinking beers with the boys, celebrating with the boys, building a relationship with the boys, working with the boys and then showing up in the biggest moment.
That's why I think you're going to be NFL guy in the future and we're excited to watch you work.
And I appreciate that.
And it's although I say, you know, drinking beers with the boys and stuff like that, for me, I don't really.
lot of leadership failures at Cal and I was always trying to be a rock right guy and at the end
the day I'm like hey people like who people who are authentic themselves I'll be myself around the
boy I'm gonna be authentic Fernando Mendoza and along with that I'm gonna show my teammates I care
about them so they say hey Fernando cares about you and he's also authentic like yeah
Fernando's a nerd it is what it is you know if you have those two things that makes them
together it's led to a great a great group of guys yeah I think so you guys brought me you've been
a great leader uh you so you're drinking like uh IP8 what are you uh what are those beers
at the
IPA.
You drink an
IPA,
you drink
the super,
the Hoosier beers.
What is your
go-to
drink of choice
when you're
with the boys?
Yeah,
honestly,
when I'm with the boys,
like,
you know,
everyone just gets
their drink of choice.
And so I would say,
like I said,
I was a college student,
especially,
you know,
pre-NIL,
I count.
I'm,
I'm for whatever
gets a job done.
That's like that.
That's like,
that's like,
that's good answer.
No more.
You can't be picky,
you know,
beggars can't be choos.
He's young,
smart.
I got in I own now.
We would drink some bullshit.
Yes, we were.
Yeah.
Do we were.
Baccarty 151.
Yeah.
You got to do it.
Don't do that, Fernando.
No.
Conman has a question for you.
Yeah, Fernando, we've talked about it, number one overall pick.
It is inevitable almost.
Have you started to look at, you know,
Kubiak's offensive system?
Have you started to think about, you know,
kind of that first interaction with new minority owner,
Tom Brady?
I know you mentioned about him being kind of that dream,
you know, dinner interview.
if you will with Tom.
Have you kind of put yourself through that process
or you're just kind of focused on
working out of Planet Fitness at midnight
and just getting ready for, you know, what's to come?
So evidently, I'm very focused on working myself
and working the draft process.
But throughout this entire season,
we actually had a little bit of a Kubiak kind of McVeigh system,
not for our RPO system, but for our play action.
And the way that he's able to incorporate outside zone
and get the edge with the run game
where the running back either collect the edge,
edge, hit the hole, or cut back, and be able to do play action off of that,
Bulek off of that.
And the way he's developed, Sam Darnold has been phenomenal.
So I've actually watched, just being a football fan before he got hired,
watched a lot of breakdowns of his film and how the Seahawks have gone.
Because that's been a big story.
Oh, yeah.
How the Seahawks and the Patriots have gone from, you know, on the fringe to all of a sudden
Super Bowl contenders and Super Bowl, like about to win a Super Bowl, each team.
So I've, you know, I've been actually, before he got hired, I watched a lot of film
and a huge fan of his work.
And Tom Brady, he's been a huge football idol of mine.
and the way that he has processes in systems
and the way that he talks about his leadership
is something that's always resonated with myself
as I've never been the strongest,
never been the biggest,
and never been the fastest.
However,
the way that he prepares
and really has a process
about going about things and having discipline
because guys eating an avocado ice cream
and pistachio ice cream.
Yeah.
Having that discipline has really inspired myself
as a young guy who, you know,
wasn't always really highly recruited
and was using an underdog.
Now, you know,
I'm an upper darn guy.
got to prove it every single day that I am where I belong. Yeah, you are up for a dog. But as having
that underdog story, it's someone that I've looked up to for a long time. Are you going to do a
shirtless photo at the combine like Tom or no? Have to. I think it's mandatory. I think you're
allowed to do whatever you want, Fernando. I think you're the number one over I'll pick, brother.
I think you'll be allowed to do whatever the hell you want. Now, on that note, you won't
though. It's just why we think you were going to be incredible. Tai is a question for you.
Have you been able to like kind of sit back and just, I mean, like you mentioned,
Pat said when you first came on like going on Fowling and you're on the Today Show.
obviously everyone talks about the the craziness of you guys going and winning the national championship.
But did you, could you ever have imagined that you were going to do all this stuff,
you know, after, even after the Heisman?
Like you've basically lived every kid's dream for the last like two weeks.
Have you had a moment to kind of just like really collect yourself and like, man, this is unbelievable?
Or is it kind of just, hey, the NFL drafts the next thing?
I kind of just got to keep moving and do what I got to do.
Yeah, I know.
Like you're right, the Fallon Show, the Today Show, and the McAfee Show.
I mean, that's a good sell.
It's been great.
In December, in the start of December, you know,
winning the high, after the Ohio State game,
winning the highs and there's still a lot to prove.
There was still a lot to prove,
a lot of question marks, you know,
maybe the Heism was as strong this year.
However, I've always kept that fire, you know,
under all of our butts.
And, you know, we were able to have a great
playoff run and able to win the national championship.
And after winning a national championship,
I let it sink in for a week and a half.
Because at that point, you've got to collect,
You got to reflect, you know, see what you did well this season, see what you can work on.
But also just enjoy it.
That's what football's about.
It's about enjoying it.
It's about having fun playing football.
And after that week and a half, all the boys, we've all been shipped out to different places of the country, starting to train, start for the draft.
But I think it's really important to reflect on the season, enjoy it because it is a success.
It is success.
And for anything, I'm not as happy as I think I am.
I would have been.
And obviously, it's all great.
And if you told me like a month ago in December, hey, you're going to be on the foul show.
you win the national championship, I would have probably fainted.
But now I'm just like, wow, like I got to chase that feeling again.
And so for all these great things that happen, it's such a blessing by God,
and it's been such a great week and a half reflecting on it.
But now, like you said, it's time to get to work and time for the next step.
Oh, you got addicted to the confetti.
That's right.
It's kind of how it goes.
What a cool moment.
Can you tell me about Signetty a little bit as we go out?
I saw you did an impression of him with Caleb.
I thought you nailed it.
I thought you absolutely nailed it.
Tell me about sick.
Because people were talking about him being like maybe greatest.
coach ever period let alone like football but just like leadership and coach as a whole you were going
to be back in bloomington five years from now 10 years from now 20 years from now 30 years from now 40 years
from now reunions okay the statute probably going up for you sig will probably still be there
he's kind of the way this is kind of going can you tell me about signating why he was the perfect guy for you
as a head coach and then also perfect for indiana like we talked about the college system
nowadays with nil the power shifting more of the players however coach sick has kind of gone back to that
hard-ass mentality or he's
I mean he's gonna rip you he doesn't really
care about his feelings he cares about winning
and so in the day and age where coaches
are trying to be all friendly and relate
to the players he's the exact opposite
he's a CEO he's a feared leader
and he's a respected leader and so at that
he's able to run a hell of an enterprise
and hell of an organization and from the
top down everybody knows it's about business
every single week it's about preparing to the best of your
ability and he can never be complacent and never
be satisfied and I think that's what makes the
Indiana Hoosier so special I love it
I love it. Hey, I see you do the LinkedIn stuff.
Yeah.
Just remember LinkedIn's for people that don't actually do it.
Like I said before, I know I was going NFL.
So, like, first couple years of college, I was actually doing LinkedIn.
Getting to internships.
And I was like, all right, here we go.
Yeah, LinkedIn's a big like, hey, this is how it's supposed to work.
We've never actually done it, but this is what we think it should be.
You know, it's a great place for suits.
We are very thankful that you are in our football world.
And what you're about to do, the men's league.
We're excited for everybody to see.
You're a special talent.
We're going to be lucky to have you involved.
Now, will you do a charity shot?
Of course.
Now, I didn't like the way he was throwing those records.
Yeah.
Yeah, he screwed up your rhythm a couple times, too.
Yeah, he needs to be better.
You know, I'm more of, you know, I wish it was a little higher.
Yeah, sure.
You know, because sometimes a little bit like bowling balls.
It had a little, like.
Yeah, Jimmy was trying to make it a little difficult.
The one he threw over his head, you not hitting him in the temple.
That was all.
That was good restraint.
I thought you were going to let it.
Yeah, that was good restraint out of you.
Yeah, it was good restraint.
Don't want to, you know, he's a host of the show.
Don't want to mess with him.
Who knows what would have happened to me, so I'm just, sorry.
A legend there.
Ola,
here'stamos me, amigo.
So, you know, the last time he started...
What the fuck?
How come you guys don't speak Spanish to me?
And you're trying to bait me in a speaking Spanish, and I can.
And I can.
And, you know, I'm conversational with my grandparents to be very, very disappointed if, you know,
if I didn't come in my Spanish A game.
Which you did at Heisman.
So I came to a Spanish A game at the Heisman,
and I understand how much it means the Hispanic community.
Especially because, I mean, Hispanic, like Jacob Rodriguez, the Pavia, like all Hispanics of football, we're rising up, we're rising up.
And to have that connection in Hispanic community is huge.
Huge.
It's huge.
Yeah, and you don't know this.
You don't think about this because you're just living your life.
Roger Goodell heard you speak Spanish in that Heiseber thing.
It was like, fucking need this guy.
This guy.
Yes.
We got a guy.
This guy.
Going back to Mexico.
Instead of Spain.
Let's go ahead and the Raiders.
Let's get a game in Cuba.
If we can, yeah, let's get a rate.
I mean, that is what they're thinking.
It's like everything about you screams, like face of a franchise, man.
So you should be incredibly proud.
Your parents are awesome, obviously learning the story about your family.
It's been great, brother.
We're incredibly proud of you now.
Can you make a shot for $20,000 donation potentially?
That'd be great.
Oh, yeah.
For Planet Fitness, maybe.
Honestly, I would say...
Fitness people are out here.
Whoop-de-whoop-wee-wee.
We're doing it out here.
We're doing it out here.
Okay.
But for real, like, I believe God has given me this platform.
I've been so thankful for you guys.
You know, shout out my mom and her situation.
and raising awareness.
I think today we just hit over 275K
for multiple schools.
National and Mass Society.
I mean,
just, I mean,
what a great cause is dear to my heart.
And let's make the shot for it, you know.
Okay.
I'm not much of a basketball player
because when I was in middle school
or high school,
I wanted to get on the basketball team,
but I was like a center,
but then there's a guy named Cameron Boozer
and Kate and Boozer.
Oh.
Oh.
At that point, I'm like,
I cannot play basketball.
That's an NBA player.
That's not me.
It's not.
This is just like a state fair type game.
State fair.
Oh.
Oh.
Nice.
It was good.
Good looking shot.
50,000.
Oh, back on.
50,000 now.
Donation.
In between those two.
Come on.
Fernando.
We know what you're about to.
Come on.
Oh, that's all right.
One more.
I'm joking.
Last one.
Last one.
Bang.
Dang.
Nice win.
appreciate you stopping by. 50 grand
to the charity of your choosing that you just described
talking about in tackling MS, which we
are tackling MS. Yeah, we're thankful
we got to follow you, man. Honestly, you made me look
really smart a couple different times for game day, and I'm
very, very grateful for that. That Oregon
game, man, and I've said this a couple times
this week, because people have brought it up, they're like,
how come you're the only one that liked Indiana or whatever?
It's like, I think I was the only one that was like watching
Indiana. And I've never been more sure of something in my life
that you guys are going to win that game in Oregon.
and then watching you guys continue to get better through that all.
The Penn State Magic,
little than everything that you guys did this year,
so cool to watch.
You made us all incredibly proud to be in Indiana,
and we enjoyed the hell out of the ride.
You deserve everything coming to you.
I appreciate it.
I can't tell you enough how much everybody in the training room
loves watching the Pat McAvigone show,
how much the boys in the locker room enjoy this show
because, you know, the media has treated Indiana way,
you know, a certain way,
but this show has been so great to us.
And it's really like, it's the epitome of Indiana.
Come on.
Come on.
I appreciate you.
Hey, how about this?
Much gracios, me, my, amigo.
Grazie, Pat, good to know you.
You know what I mean?
Good to know.
Yeah, see, see.
I love that.
You're the man.
Thanks, man, man, oh.
Thanks, buddy.
Good luck.
All right, let's take a break.
On the other side, we got Shefty here, I still, I believe.
Nice.
Go pass, baby.
George Kittles here as well.
He's scooting around.
You're the man.
God bless you.
Did he see us?
Did he see us?
generation yeah he's great guy he's a great football player he's a great guy i don't know what else you can say
he was not the number one quarterback oh yeah it was more what was that college football playoff
i forget which game it was peach ball yeah peach well i'm up there sitting on the game day set
fernando mendoza's generation we're talking about maybe the greatest of all time across the bottom
lower third moll kuiper juniors projected draft one dante more two fernando with an a next to it maybe
Bain on the other side. I'm like, what?
What do we do? This guy's 6'5.
I don't think that is the thing that's kind of talks about enough.
He's a giant and he can spin it.
And if you put him with the Raiders team, already has a running back, already has some weapons.
If they can protect them, why not the Raiders debud in Tramando?
The trenches, obviously, A-Q's can tell you a lot more about it than I can, but you've got to build around.
You've got to protect him and let him get out there and do what he does.
Obviously, he's a great athlete as well.
He can get out there and hurt you with his legs, which defense is.
Huh? Yeah.
All right, let's take a break.
We got George Kittle. We got Schaefter.
And we wrap the show up from Radio Row the same way we've done the last few years.
It's a magical time to be alive on his Feel Good Friday, just days before the Super Bowl.
We can't take you enough for allowing us to do this for a living.
Be a friend, tell a friend something nice.
Might change your life.
Take five.
Five.
Amazon presents Jamal versus the Shih Tzu.
Descending from the gray wolf, Shih Tzu.
live by their own untamed primal code of not giving a single shih Tzu.
But Jamal shopped on Amazon and bought dog treats, chew toys, and 32 ounces of carpet cleaner.
Hey, Jamal, you've been promoted to pack leader.
Save the everyday with deals from Amazon.
It's the best.
We've been celebrating it all week here in beautiful San Francisco, California.
It's been so fascinating.
here where what we expected it to be
versus what it actually was, let
alone the buzz being palpable from every
single angle of this city.
It's also been incredibly hospitable, clean,
and it does feel as if there is a
massive thing happening this weekend.
And that's good news, because this weekend
a massive thing is happening.
The biggest on earth. Maybe the biggest
football game in the history of
ratings will happen between a Seattle
Seahawks and the New England Patriots.
As the Seahawks remain
four and a half point favorites for about two
weeks straight now. Since the game has been set, this is how it has been. The public betting has
been on the Seahawk side all the way up over 70% at one point over the last two weeks. The
books have not budged. They think Sam Donald should win by at least five points against the New England
Patriots. We cannot wait to watch. We'll give our official predictions here in a matter of
moments. The toxic tables here at Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt. Ty, we got a good Iowa
coming on. It feels like there's been a lot of Hawkeyes popping through here. I know it's crazy, right?
It kind of always comes back to the hawks.
Mark Shapiro, you know, that was a pleasant surprise.
I did want to, you know, maybe let him know, hey, you can look what Indiana just did.
If you want to give $50 to $100 million to Iowa football.
Yeah, why is he not doing that?
We could maybe go win a national championship next year.
Mark Shapiro, incredibly good business person.
I think he's kind of in the, so how does this work?
So I'm just giving a bunch and we're hoping.
Okay.
Okay.
All right, let's do that.
That is kind of how the NIA.
world is. And that's what Signetti
was selling at Indiana. Like, hey, you give me the money,
I'll find the right people. But there's been a lot of places
they get the money that don't find the right people.
So is Kirk going to be one of the guys that helps?
If Mark Shapiro gives him $20 million,
are we going to get the right guys in there? Because I saw a quarterback
transfer three, four,
five times over the last couple of years. And
Grinowski certainly worked. If we're
going to continue to hit like that, maybe Shapiro
will be in. Yeah, I agree. I mean, I'm willing
to go to the Supreme Court to try
to get Grinowski another year of Iowa
football. I don't know if it's going to happen. He was the
MVP of the East West Shrine game.
So there's a chance that he's the number two quarterback taken behind Fernando Mendoza.
Probably number two of all.
Yeah, maybe number two overall in the first round.
So we'll see.
But, you know, yeah, it just, it's possible.
And the guy who is going to be coming on, like he, I told him too, hey, you can pony up a couple.
Couple mill?
You can pony up a couple.
I mean, he's in the middle of a lot of things getting back to being healthy and everything like that.
We certainly love him.
Is he the one that has this documentary IMAX rig following him around?
Do you see this camera that's out here?
Yeah, he's nodded.
Yeah, that's unbelievable.
That's really incredibly.
I don't know what's happening, but they're making something special as they should because he is one-half of the hammer.
Cowboys AP Tone is here.
Nine-year NFL vet Darius J. Butler is here.
Super Bowl champion A.J. Hawke is here.
And joining us right now, ladies and gentlemen, is a Matt who's a former fifth round overall draft pick from Norman, Oklahoma.
But an Iowa Hawkeye legend, two-time first team all pro, seven-time pro bowler.
One of the founders of Tide End University,
ladies and gentlemen, San Francisco 49er staple, George Kittle.
They see him rolling.
The electricity's vibrated.
Got a headset right over there if you want to.
Hey, yeah, I should get up for you.
Oh, hey, how you doing?
Yeah, that's fine.
No, that was on me.
You're working, man.
No, no, no, I'm not at all, actually.
You are the one working, actually.
And I know that whenever you're around, I know that you're going to smell so good.
Thank you so much for bringing that great scent over here.
What is that?
What are you selling?
Oh, everybody already got so.
Yeah, interesting.
On my desk, too, when I came out here.
How about it get there?
Well, because we're potentially old-spiced people if you are.
It smells good, right?
You know, we're revamping our swagger over here.
And look, you even got a little bar on the bottom of your scent intensity.
You could choose how strong your scent is now.
Okay.
So, like, you can have that huge aura, like Trent Williams, just kind of,
walk into a place you own it or you could be more subtle
and just kind of sneak around. So to
be clear, I can't just turn it down
on this. I tried to do that in the way over here.
They're like, no, no, no, no, no. Each, each
scent has its own intensity. This is a good intensity.
Yeah, so it's just basically telling you what you're
doing. Like, hey, am I walking in
and smelling like, what was the shit? Axe.
You remember, axe used to be you'd walk in
there and everybody knew you didn't take a shot.
There's got in take a shot.
That's what people would say. Now with the sun intensity
here, it's like, hey, I'm actually
not in ass cheeks.
Wow, ladies
gentlemen.
Hey, you guys have had a hell of a Super Bowl week, I think.
Don't you guys think from standing on each other's backs and stuff?
I think you guys have been really crushing it.
They've been good.
Do you guys wear Old Spice or no?
You want an old spice?
Yeah, you are.
She fired it out.
What's your scent intensity?
What's your scent intensity, Will?
Yeah, that's because you don't sharp.
Yeah, that's what we're talking about.
Nebraska. It's a Nebraska thing.
Smelling like ash cheeks.
Turn the scent intensity up.
Hey, great work this weekend season, boys.
proud of you guys. You guys are fantastic. Hey, in Nashville, way to battle. Way to battle. You guys
survived the war. Way to battle out there. Okay, let's get back to that. Nashville, obviously,
where you call him, too. I know. I wasn't there. I was out here. Very scary. We would like to send
OTs and P's to Nashville and everywhere else. We got power. We had no power for like two weeks at our
properties, which was kind of crazy. I know, I think they said all power is supposed to be back on the
eighth, so I don't think there's even power back yet. Yeah, it's scary. For a lot of people,
we obviously send positive vibes to everybody.
You talk about power and then you talk about vibes.
We've got to talk about your stadium and your facility.
Oh, what do you want to talk about?
No.
Old Spice, that what you want to talk about?
Maybe old problems becoming very, very new in the world with the science that we have.
You've had three Niners on now, right?
Same answer.
Same answer.
What did they say?
It's been there a long time.
You're the fourth nine.
Yeah, Jerry Rice has been doing this.
Now, Christian McCaffrey said he turns off Wi-Fi when he goes to bed,
so we know that he certainly has looked into this.
Right, yeah.
Christians very aware.
Yes.
Very aware.
You all are there, right?
Because of the world that we're in right now.
Well, yeah.
You know what?
Kyle Ushack actually had a great point.
He was like, look, as a professional athlete,
you're doing anything you can to get 1% better.
Red light therapy, ice tubs, you know,
stem cells, whatever you're doing trying to get 1% better.
You're in drinking.
Well, what?
Yeah.
Yeah.
AJ, yeah.
Ice cold ice.
But what about something that is like making you 1% worse?
And so like if this substation is making you 1% worse,
wouldn't you want to know about it?
Like, even if it's not like a depilitating thing
that's doing all the things,
people are saying it's doing. It's making you 1% worse
wouldn't you want to know about it? Yes, absolutely.
I'm happy that we are. And we hope that they get to the bottom
of it. Now, the other side is certainly going to say
is zero percent. It has been
for a lot of times. But it's also, when
they built a stadium there, they quadrupled the size
of the whole substation. So it's like
So when some people were practicing there
back in the day, it was this little thing, probably the size
of this space right here. And now it's
a massive, like, multiple football fields big.
So a little bit different energy coming off
that thing since they've expanded
it. Yeah, but you're a big Godzilla guy, so like
that should power you.
The power is the power is to power you.
So my one argument is like, yeah, so we have been a very high-injury team,
and people want to put blame on that.
Now, I will say, Fred Warner does practice there,
and he trains their year-round.
So did he just, like, absorb the electromagnetic stuff?
And he's only been hurt, like, once in his career.
So is it, like, people who leave and then come back are affected more
than the people who stay their year-round?
Maybe, and hopefully they'll get to the bottom of it.
We appreciate the fact that you know your body,
and you are so incredibly hard-working and in tune with your body,
which is why we know you recover from this.
Oh, I'm excited about this.
sucks, dude. I know you have the mindset
of a positive one, and I texted you in real
time, and you send me back like, I'm not
dead. I appreciate that mindset, but that is not how
the season is supposed to go for you. And like you,
I think you agree with that. How quickly do you have
to kind of flip the mindset around?
Oh, I mean, I did it pretty quickly. Like,
for my MRI and then what my surgeon said,
he was like, you had a lot of good news behind you, man.
Like, you're very lucky where you tour it, how you
tour. He was like, just dominate your rehab,
and you're going to play a lot of football games next year. Like, you're not
going to miss 10 games. Like, you're going to play a lot of
I was like, ha, all right, sounds good.
Was that before or after you had somebody deliver you a tequila bottle in the locker?
No, so that time period was pretty depressing.
That's when you text me.
I was like, well, I'm not dead, but I did get tequila.
I got to hang out with my parents and my wife, and that was really fun.
And then, you know, they made me feel really good, and then we won the game in Philadelphia.
And then the team let me fly home on the wives set a PJ to the game.
So I got to fly home on the PJ and lay on a couch instead of it in a little chair.
Wow.
So mic'd up, wife's up, is actually coming in good for rehab.
Okay, so this is good for the team.
Huge for the team.
This is like whenever Guerrero is up there for TB12.
Yeah, exactly.
You know, kind of helping out, miced up, wiped up is actually,
I didn't even think about the positive side of it all.
Huge positives.
Yeah, from a medical standpoint.
But also good for the brand, which leads to Seattle Seahawks.
Not a lot of people know a lot of their team.
Patriots, not a lot of people know a lot of the team.
You guys, though, rock stars.
Yeah.
At this stage, you would agree?
We have a lot of people, yeah.
We have a lot of people.
I think so.
I think you guys are absolute rock stars, very famous.
I agree.
I think this 49ers team very locked in cement.
How do you feel about representing this city?
Can we talk about it a little bit?
You're from Norman, Norman, went to Iowa.
Yeah.
I'm from Pittsburgh, went to West Virginia, live in Indianapolis.
We've been told this place is a shithole.
We've been told that for a long time.
Legit, you live here, but we outside of here, not been here,
told this is going to be, this place has been gorgeous.
It has been incredible.
You can feel it's a football town.
Do you feel the same way?
And how much do you have to speak about that?
Well, like, one thing I love is, like, I think San Francisco.
just, you know, it's always like the bun end of a joke for all these people that want to talk shit about it.
And then you get here and like, oh, it's actually a beautiful city with awesome food, great scenery.
The weather's fantastic, like awesome vibes, plenty to do.
It's like, it's actually a really fun place to be.
And now, unfortunately, I live like an hour south here.
So, like, I'm not in San Francisco all the time because our facility is down in Santa Clara.
But when I'm up here, I thoroughly enjoy it.
Like, it's a really fun city to be a part of.
It is a fun city.
I knew there is a buzz in the city.
Like, if you come up, like, when the warriors are rolling or when the Giants are rolling or when we're rolling, there's a buzz in the city.
And I'm actually jealous because I don't live up here,
so I don't get to feel that buzz all the time.
Where do you live?
You live out of sticks or something like that?
Do you live right on top of the electric plant?
I'm underneath it.
Nice.
Oh, like Splinter.
I don't know the...
Master Splinter, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, no.
A good proper metaphor there?
I think so.
I don't really know that shit.
He lives in the sewer, so yeah, you could...
Yeah, that's fair.
I'm an Iowa guy, I'm gritty.
I'm not a Nebraska guy like Will, you know.
I don't need everything pretty.
But, no, I live like 20 minutes south of the facility.
No, I live up in the hills.
It's a beautiful place.
What is this for you coming up?
Year 10, baby.
Congratulations.
That's awesome.
Not easy.
Yeah.
Thank you, boys.
I'm really excited.
There's a wall when you walk into the Niners facility and has 10-year vets.
So anyone that's played 10 years.
The last one is Joe Staley.
And then the next two will be me and Kyle Eustach.
And so I'm pretty excited.
I got to be sandwich right in between Joe Staley and Kyle Eustach.
I'm pretty excited.
That's right where you're supposed to be.
AJ has a question for your old spice.
Yeah, what's it look like the next three or four months for this?
This?
Do you have a whole plan in place?
You already work?
Can you take that boot off?
They have you moving it?
Oh, yeah, yeah.
And how it all works.
I'm literally only in this when I'm outside of my house.
When I'm at my house, like, the nice thing is, too, like, my trainers are coming to me right now,
which is really convenient.
But I do a whole bunch of, you know, ISO holds, ankle stuff.
Basically, I have, like, a three-inch heel lift in my boot right now.
So, like, I can, like, stand up on this right now and just kind of hang out.
But walking, you were not doing that yet.
I'll be in a shoe next week, and I'll be back and forth between a shoe and a boot.
And then I'm on crutches for, like, another two to three, four,
weeks and then I'm rolling again.
Where are you training out here or back in Nashville?
I will be. I'll be in Nashville
starting next week. Because you have a full
facility, right? That I do. And I'm excited to use it
again. Yeah, and it feels like, I mean,
if anybody would be prepared for this type of rehab,
it would be you with your setup. I am excited
to attack something different. Oh, so my
dad tore both of his Achilles, so you know, he's
giving me a bunch of tips. Oh, it's in the family.
It's in the family. It's in the family. I know
it's hered. Is he been practicing
around electric substations? No.
He tore his back-to-back years
he was like 51 and 52
he took his. That's a good time to do it. That's a good time to do it. That's
Kaboli numbers right now that's tough. But you know
hey he came back from and he bikes 50 miles a day so I think I can do it.
Yeah, score some tuds. No problem. Why not?
Run some people's faces through their face man. I'll still be able to headbut
people. It feels like that's coming back in the game. It should.
I know you were never that way. You're always like laughing face. I'll do the whole
psycho thing and block people and love doing that because dad,
offensive alignment, I do believe. But it does
feel like the football is getting a little bit more violent, a little bit more physical again.
Do you agree with that?
It needs to.
A little bit more edge, it feels like.
Yeah, it needs to.
It's not a friendly game.
And yes, like, am I joking around out there?
Yeah, but when the whistle blows, I'm hitting people in the face.
Like, that's what my job is.
And I thoroughly enjoy doing that.
One thing, it does need to be more physical.
I still think they need to, like, work on roughing the passer.
I think that's just outrageous still.
Well, let's not get into all the roughing stuff.
Actually, we fix that.
How?
How?
How do we fix it?
A member, JJ, they're going to call JJ Watt.
Oh, yeah, and he's going to do this number.
I just don't think, like, if you get hit in the head,
I don't feel like that should be a thing unless it's like someone hits you helmet to helmet
or something like that on a quarterback.
It's a football play.
If a D-line's swiping to hit a ball and you accidentally hit a quarterback in the head,
that shouldn't be a 15-yard penalty.
Agreed.
Just like, stop making it so easy on offenses.
Well, why don't you say this to somebody?
Go to Roger Goodell.
Say hi.
I'm George Kittle.
I got ideas.
This is Pat.
He has the most popular show on ESPN, and in the world he has something to say.
We've said it.
George Cohnard him.
You're not doing lying out here.
Okay, our show exists.
It certainly does.
More people are watching it now than they should, I will say.
I don't know.
You guys are pretty entertaining.
Thank you, George.
You guys are, too.
I think it's really because AJ's here in person and it's on a Zoom.
How do you feel about that, the vibe of him around?
He doesn't say a lot, but his aura is high.
Oh, he's always saying something, though.
I haven't heard of much this so far.
Oh, yeah.
Well, that's because he's on mushrooms right now.
Oh, okay.
Really?
All of them.
D.
DeBott has a question for you as well.
Hey, the office.
Everybody wants a piece of the Shanahan or McVeigh office.
They do, don't they?
Every coaching cycle, you'll see three or four.
It's crazy.
No, next new whiz, kids get hired.
What is it about your office?
Obviously, you got to have the players.
You got to have to Joe Jimis and Joe's out there, but what is it specifically about your
offense that everybody loves right now?
I think it's just like, there's just so many different like variations of it.
Like there's so many ways to do it.
And if you have like a solid opposite line, tight end, running back, like you do all the run game stuff.
Like you see how we do it.
We have juice and a tight end.
And you look how the Rams do it.
And they used three tight-ins or they're just an 11 person with one tight-in.
And it's the same run plays, basically.
And then you can just all do all the play action keep herself off of it.
And, like, I just think guys like that intuitive thinking.
I think a lot of the coaches that come out of Shanahan's coaching tree right now are all like kind of,
I don't want to say whiz kids, but they're all just kind of like these smart guys who sit in a dark room and look at film 24-7.
And they're just like, really like, oh, we like this, but we're going to make this play look like this now.
And you can make an entire, you can make like one formation and you can run 10 plays out of it.
and the defense will never know what's coming.
I think just guys really, really like that
and the efficiency of our offense.
Do you fight the other Old Spice guy for Old Spice dominance,
or how's that kind of good?
No, that is the Old Spice guy.
No, he could whip my ass and yours.
Definitely mine.
Yeah, definitely.
I'm on a scooter right now.
I could run someone over.
They see him rolling.
You should put a sword on the front of it.
Death race.
Yeah, something's thinking about it.
Give me a Lance.
Yes, exactly.
Oh, you in a night thing.
Oh, yeah.
I would have fun with that.
Who else is on these things?
Have we seen anybody else rolling around here?
Micah Parsons had one.
Yes.
That'd be fun.
That'd be fun.
Yeah, we need that.
He's the defense.
I'd go for his knees, but yes.
Please don't.
He just had kneeser.
I know.
That's what's time.
Oh, yeah, you're a Packer guy.
Oh, yeah, that's fun.
Ty actually has a question for you.
I assume it's about to be the Hawks.
I was going to ask about the Hawks.
Or ask a hot question first.
Okay.
Sounds like he wasn't.
Well, no, I was.
What's your question?
You know, you know Brock.
Purdy very well and
I know you're an Iowa guy we talked
about it a little bit backstage
and I think he realized it yesterday too
there's a chance Iowa State's never good again
there's no chance
yeah they're good program literally gutted on the way
out you know it's just terrible for all those people
but horrible knowing Brock the way
that you do and how big of a competitor
he is etc etc it looked like
he wanted to tell me to my face
fuck you and smack the teeth out of my mouth
but he didn't but he didn't
he was wearing a toy aerathon jacket he did
Did not.
It's a cute jacket.
Do you think that is an accurate read, though?
Because, I mean, we kind of saw Brock come into his own a little bit more this year.
But do you think that that is an accurate read?
And he also knows that I'm right.
Iowa's not going to be really much more than.
You know what?
As a person from Iowa and I love the state of Iowa.
I want Iowa State to get good again.
I just don't know how that's going to happen for a while.
I feel the same way.
But Brock is a feisty.
He's a feisty guy.
You know, when we golf and stuff, he likes to go out there and compete.
He likes to, you know, compete with Jews, me, Christian.
He likes to go out there with the boys.
He's a very, very competitive person.
He talks a lot of shit.
That's just kind of what he does.
And so I think when you put a camera on him, he's trying to be, hey, you know,
I'm the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers.
There's a lot that goes into that.
And I was like, you know what, Brock, just be yourself, man.
So he's getting more comfortable with the whole thing.
He almost murdered them.
Yeah.
We saw it in his eyes multiple times.
He gets pissed.
Yeah, yeah.
They were trying to as well.
At least time.
As soon as they saw, he was sitting like this casual.
and then Ty says something
you see him look over
and then Ty and Connor
sense a little
Oh
There was a little
There's a little moment there
Keep doing it
The next time he goes on the show
Keep doing it
We don't know if that'll happen
It will
He's never coming back
No he will
He's a good guy
I don't know
Ty and Connor said some
I mean they were trying
We got him
I was just saying Ames is a shit hole
Oh it is
He hates Cherry
And he loves him
You say he hates charity
Oh this guy catches
That's so mean
I love it
George what were your staff
How many...
What I do?
You tell me.
You're trying to compare yourself to George Kittle and Brock Purdy's life.
See, George Kittle says it.
I'm a lot of saying.
This guy's been his number one, basically,
since he became a starter for the Niners.
Hey, you know what?
Some things just don't die.
I went to Iowa.
He went to Iowa State.
That's how it's always going to be.
It is.
It is fair.
Yeah, but I wish Brock with that Toy-Othon jacket would have taken the jacket off.
Say, you know what, this ain't about Toyota.
Take it down.
I'm kicking your ass.
I get walking out.
That would have been on.
It would have been.
It's so cool.
I would have been sitting here having a great.
Did you see Robert Irwin yesterday?
Yeah, I did.
You know, I'm actually disappointed in Robert.
Why?
The Rams got him to do like a hype video for the Rams fans for going to Australia.
I'm like, no, Robert.
No, you're a Niners fan.
How did they get to him so fast?
That's because they had the decision already made that it was going to be the Rams.
The Niners just happened, right?
That was the big announcement.
Oh, that's what it was.
He was the only one that knew.
I love Robert Irving.
I follow him online.
I follow all of his videos.
He's a psychopath.
I don't know how they do that stuff.
Yes. Hilarious.
Incredible.
He's so cool.
So cool.
Loves the Rams, doesn't he?
Oh, yeah.
No, he doesn't love him.
Big Rams.
Oh, my gosh.
They pay him.
It's NIL.
They pay him.
Here's this video, actually, we heard.
Yeah, I know.
Can you go back to the beginning, Lusanne?
Oh, I need to hear the accent.
Yeah.
It's so good.
D-D-D-E.
Oh, good day.
I know you guys are coming down under to Australia.
I am so excited.
I love it.
you guys up against the 49ers.
You're going to have to bring your A game.
I know you will.
And I hope to see you at Australia Zoo.
Let's go wrangle some crocodiles, hey?
Get you warmed up to the big game.
I think so.
And he didn't really proclaim himself as a Rams fan.
No, he didn't.
He kind of, he's Robert.
He's Steve Irwin.
He's not going to have to bring it.
Yeah, he's unbelievable.
You're going to have a compliment to us.
You're not to bring your A game if you want to beat the Niners.
Okay, so you found out about Australia yesterday, like the rest of us that you're playing
down there?
Yes, I did.
How excited are you from?
that. Yes. I mean, my favorite, I've only done one international game. That was Mexico City,
so, like, not at that heart of a flight. That was pretty fun, too, because that was basically a home
game for us because Mexico City loves the 49ers. Oh, sure, it'll be a great time, though.
I'm looking forward to it. I've never been. I'm excited for the 16-hour flight from San Francisco.
It's going to be great. Me and Christian will be sitting right next to each other for the whole flight,
and I'm probably going to annoy him the entire time. Let me tell you, as somebody who did the flight,
while you're in it, you think this is the worst thing I've done.
ever done in my life because you're just flying over water.
Yeah.
So you start thinking and there's no internet.
Okay, so you're just kind of trapped in there.
So you literally think to yourself, if something was going to wrong, where are we?
Oh, okay, nowhere.
Yeah, literally.
And you're eight hours in, guess what?
Nothing.
Still, you're 10 hours in, nothing.
You're just out there by yourself with your thoughts.
So there's a lot of mental toughness that's going to have to happen.
But once you get there, you think yourself, wow, this is like a movie.
It's so nice.
Australia is beautiful once you get there.
Just the trip is ass
I mean the trip is ass
There's no
You could take advantage of it
Like I could just watch the entire extended
Cut of Lord of the Rings
Could
It's like what is that 12 hours
Are you a Game of Thrones fan?
I do like Game of Thrones
Like Lord of the Rings is the best cinema
Ever recorded but like I do like Game of Thrones
Okay I don't I don't know
Even how to debate what you just said
I'm sure there's a lot of people
That disagree with you
But I don't
Well if you do you're wrong
What would beat that
Like Mighty Ducks I guess
Yeah
Yeah
D3
Yeah so what
So disrespectful.
Disrespect.
What to what?
Mighty Ducks?
Is that what you're saying?
It's the Lord of the Rings?
Yeah, dude.
When they go to Eden Hall?
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
The Triple Deek.
Yeah.
No, no, it's fantastic.
It's great cinema.
It's just not, you know, it's not the best.
Game of Thrones.
Are you like the mountain?
I absolutely love Game of Thrones besides the last season.
They just ruined it for everybody.
Is that the one where the Starbucks cups and everything?
Yeah.
Yeah, kind of mailed it in.
They mailed it in.
They mailed it in.
Just kind of horse's head off.
Oh, he did.
Yeah, him and his brother got into it pretty good.
That was a good fight.
There were some good scenes, but the way that they tied the thing together was horrible.
I hated it.
So are you a critic?
You feel like you're a pretty good critic there?
It sounds like...
I love movies.
I love TV shows.
I watch everything.
I love it.
So Australia won't be that bad of a trip.
I'll go through probably all the hobbits, Lord of the Rings.
Maybe get a Matrix or a Star Wars film in there, too.
Don't you watch some film.
George, I'm not doing it.
The thing in my office, I don't have to watch a lot of film because as long as I know what the
plays are, they're built to go against any defense.
What year are you in this system?
10. Oh, so it's been the whole time?
Yeah. Oh, my God.
Yeah, so it's like as long as I know what the plays are, like, the only thing I watch on film now, like, I'll watch a defensive end, like to see how he sets an edge or how he pass rushes.
Like, if there's a certain movie does, and I'll watch how a guy plays me in man coverage, like, that's really it.
I don't have to break down a defense. Like, you're like, okay, this is the run play. You're going to do this to this. I'm like, all right, sounds good.
Good for you. That's a good place to get to.
Tone has a question for you, if it's not easy, how come Seattle's defense was really good against you guys?
Oh, I said, why are they so good?
I mean, me watching films are not going to help that.
Their defense is so good.
Well, what they do, they play.
Their defense really reminds me a lot of the defense I had in 2019,
where they come off the ball, they hit you in the face really, really hard.
They penetrate against the line of scrimmage.
Your offensive line is always in the backfield.
And then their DBs take advantage of that.
Because, like, when you only have to rush four guys,
and it's like four good players, especially when you have elite defensive
tackles in the inside, then your DBs are only covering for three, four seconds
instead of five, six seconds, right?
Not six, seven.
That's over.
Yeah, is it dead?
Yeah.
I don't know.
I hope you didn't bring it back.
I was doing it for a time there.
That's when I really thought I was a sell-out.
Because that's not really my thing.
I don't do the dancers, I don't do it.
And then she's, ha, ha, ha.
I really felt like I was part of the problem.
Catchy.
I really felt it was part of prox.
You're a TikTok guy there for a little bit?
So, stop.
We got a guy named talk.
He's back, actually.
Congrats talk.
Well done, Tom.
Talk peaked every hour for eight hours yesterday.
I think he got some food poisoning.
He is back.
Oh, that's super tough.
I don't super yeah that is talk football uh I don't know much about the talk but 6-7 did have a little bit of a run
I would say I thought it oh I was so uh where I live down here about an hour south of there's like it's like it's called the los gotos light show and it's like they take out this whole park and it's the whole thing's Christmas lights
and it's like a 20 25 minute drive you go there with your kids you just drive there's all these cool Christmas lights everywhere and so I did it for the first time this year and I'm driving it at my windows are like out of their sunroof hanging out of the windows and they're all every car drive pass is just screaming at me 6-7 6-6 7 I'm like
like, oh my gosh, what is going on here?
Yeah, it's quite a time. Yeah. I was so, and my wife was like,
roll up the window, George. I'm like, no.
So I started yelling 8-9 back at all of them.
Oh, you see, you were trying to, yeah.
You're an influencer. I was, you know, none of them knew
who I was, which was kind of funny, and I was just
screaming 8-9 at them as they screamed 6-7 to me.
Okay, good question.
10 years here, I assume, yeah.
Yeah.
You're a mayor of this place?
Oh, actually, I met the mayor just a couple days ago at the pro bowl.
What did you think?
He's a nice guy.
Oh, okay.
What didn't you like about it?
Hold on.
No.
We had some preconceived.
We're not like any guy.
He's a local.
So what did you think?
You know, because we're getting that guy's A game.
And I said...
Oh, he was on the show, wasn't he?
He was really good.
He was really good.
But I said, coming in, yeah, preconceived notions, I said, this guy kind of reminds me of a smarmy prick.
Oh, bastard was what he said.
Call him a bastard.
Smar me bastard.
Right to his face.
Oh, I didn't say it to his face.
Yes, he did.
But I would have.
But no.
And by the end of it, I was like, you know what?
This guy's pretty good.
This guy's gold.
I talked for like 10 minutes after the Pro Bowl
He was talking to me and Christian
Yeah, he's nice guy
I like them a lot
Well how about you make the city a little better
Will you attempt a shot?
Oh yeah sure
Okay
Oh that's a bouncy ball
State Fair
Yeah it's a state fair basketball
Okay so it's gonna be tough to shoot
If you make this $50,000 to a charity
If you're choosing
Oh I was about to throw the hell out of this football
I mean basketball
I'll actually shoot it
Hold on the hold on that you might
You should have told me that you do that
We potentially go
You know what
Good. And do the donation.
But since you told us, new gimmick now.
I think you're going to have to make it.
George Kittle, legend here in San Francisco.
Yeah, you could have blindsided us with the thing.
Yeah.
No, no, because you already told us you were doing that.
Go ahead, George.
It feels more like a dodge ball.
It does.
Oh, and you...
See, you can hit anybody.
Really?
No, come on.
We had this with you.
We had this with you the other day last year.
I know.
You almost hit my mom last year.
Oh, no.
But I didn't.
I would never do that.
I think you should make the donation just because you almost hit my mom.
But I didn't, though, you know, because I knew I wouldn't.
But she still thinks about it.
She's scared.
Well, let her know she's an angel.
I would never know.
Emotional trauma.
No, it's a pizza.
It's just.
Oh.
Pretty athletic looking shot, though, especially with the lean back there with the boot on the scooter.
Good board.
Thank you so much.
That's a good pass.
Into George Kittles.
Oh, nice.
Okay.
One more attempt to hear this for $50,000.
Oh.
That was good.
We're getting there.
Hey, it's Pete.
That's my guy.
Hey, Pete.
Petele.
Oh, he just tried to hit your Achilles.
Oh, oh, man.
I don't look at a range of motion right now.
Oh, he actually doesn't have a range of motion.
We're falling apart, boys.
No, no, hold on.
Last attempt here for real.
All right, cool.
I'll sit up.
Okay, let's lock in.
Please, I'm done with the fucking bullshit around.
Okay.
I'm done with it.
I'm gonna flip your desk.
That's what I'm saying.
That's the bullshit.
You're not worried about making the hoop.
That will kick your scooter over.
Yeah.
You can, you can try.
Get over here.
Come on, you're so tough.
I'll bite your ankle.
50,000.
Oh.
You're the man.
It's right.
Shut my wife out here.
She can shoot.
I can't.
Is she out here?
No, she's not, unfortunately.
She's working, though.
She's working.
She's just SI Cover Girl yesterday.
Sports Illustrate a swimsuit model.
What?
Yeah.
Congrats, Claire.
Yeah, it's pretty sick.
I know.
Lucky me, really.
Lucky me.
No, lucky you that you guys love each other and so publicly still love each other with all the attention
that has been brought to you guys.
Legit.
It's pretty cool.
Like reality TV show couples never work.
because there's always some sort of situation.
You guys have both become very popular running your own thing
and still get along very well.
It's fun to watch.
It's inspiring, I would say, for others.
We thoroughly enjoy each other.
As long as you're good friends with your wife,
you're going to have a good time.
You like your wife.
She doesn't like me, but I do like her.
Everyone's like, well, yeah, well, you love each other.
I'm like, yeah, but do you like your person
that you're hanging out with every single day?
Like, that's a big difference.
Like, do you actually like them?
You and Claire, I feel like, do.
Yes.
Yeah, it's awesome.
I love you.
I get home from work and I'm like,
what TV show are you watching tonight?
She's like Lord of the Rings.
No, actually, I did.
I got clear to set her phone down aside.
No phones.
We watched the first two Lord of the Rings movies extended cuts.
She went through all of them.
She's like, well, these movies are actually really good.
And I said, hell yeah, they are.
Man, that's awesome.
She'll just lie to you like that.
I do.
It's nice, isn't it?
Yeah, it's great.
It's great.
Hey, listen, I'd rather somebody be nice to me for the wrong reasons than be mean to me for the right reasons.
I've always said that.
That's nice.
People always like, well, they're fake to you.
And that's why they're being nice.
I don't care.
It feels a lot better on my end.
Whatever they're being out.
Lide in my face, please.
Yes, please, please, please.
Please lie to my face.
If we're going to watch Lord of the Rings for 40 hours.
I don't know how long those movies are.
Extended cut is what, three and a half, three 45 and the last one's 425, I think.
Jeez.
So good.
Okay.
Ladies and gentlemen.
You don't fall asleep?
Last shot here, George.
I love those movies.
George.
I get one more?
No, hold on.
You're Gandalf.
It's to be so sick.
What is that?
This is his power.
He's a Lord of Wizard.
He's a wizard.
He's got a sick.
Gane off the gray.
He's got a sick staff.
The gray.
Is he in the gray?
It's getting off the gray.
And then he dies and he comes back to Gann off the white.
What's sick is in his staff, he actually has a built-in holder for his pipe.
And in Lord of the Rings, they all smoke a bunch of weed.
Yeah.
So they got a piece pipe out there?
It's crazy.
Actually, I didn't know that until I was older.
They're hobbits.
Yeah, it's from the Shire.
The orcs are bad.
They're not kids.
They're hobbits.
Let's go ahead and hit the piece pipe.
Let's go out.
I never got to have twice.
All right.
We see you, man.
You gave me a lot of shots.
I appreciate it.
I mean, I try my best, yeah, for the good of the city.
Yeah, I know.
Because you spent a lot of time with us, we appreciate you.
We're big fans, brother.
Yeah.
Thanks, guys.
Love you, George.
You guys are awesome.
Thank you, George.
Thank you, George.
Love you, George.
George.
George has a little old spice.
Set intensity available now.
Don't be smelling like an asshole when you walk in a place if you don't have to.
Sat?
Yeah, there it is.
Hey, you'll have to be looking like an asshole if you don't want to.
I don't know if you're going to be able to.
I don't know if you're going to be able to.
able to get out that way, George.
See you, Georgeo.
Let's not get too comfortable on this thing.
He's pretty good on it.
Hey, what's it?
You're maneuvering it pretty darn good, though.
Yup.
Oh, that was your game.
That was your end of the paint.
Yeah, $10.
Yeah, $10 donation, actually.
All right, see you, George.
See you, dude.
All right, George.
Bye, George.
All right, George.
All right, George.
Appreciate you, George.
That was a good ass slap.
Yeah, it was.
That was a good ass slap.
No hand claps or ass slaps or asslaps.
George Kitto says, I don't want to hear him to roll out of here and smack that.
And he certainly did.
Joining us out, ladies and gentlemen, it's time.
Yes.
Yes, it is.
Come on.
The Storm and Mormon.
Oh.
A man who's been a Super Bowl champion before with the New England Patriots.
About to be friend of the program, we think, all off-season.
Had no idea who showed up this late, going to be honest.
Excited to talk to him.
He's going to bring good juice.
We love him, ladies of gentlemen, Kyle Van Nuke.
Great to see you.
Clee.
Bye, Kyle.
Great shoes, Kyle.
I like those.
You're hospitable.
He smells good.
What are you doing here?
Are you selling anything?
Do we need to talk about what you're selling?
Okay, I like that.
You're just selling ball.
I like that.
We're always selling ball.
We're always selling ball, too.
Serum ball.
Brix.
That's real.
It's a, like, bricks of what?
The phrasing there, yeah, that's chocolate.
Could be.
That ain't cocaine.
Okay, Kyle.
We're not moving.
Like, how you do?
doing brother how's life i'm so blessed man first of all i always got to say thank you you guys
appreciate you guys you um i've been just going around obviously and you guys are obviously some of
my ojs in this workspace um in media so i appreciate but watching you guys and seeing the
joy you bring people i mean you guys have set the standard now and i just want to say thank you for
Kyle, Kyle, Kyle, Kyle, Kyle.
We appreciate you.
You're multiple-time Super Bowl champion.
We're lucky that you join us.
Okay, we are lucky that you join us.
We're thankful that you join us.
What year are you going into next year if you were?
13.
If we get to play.
Yes, hopefully get to play 13th year.
Yeah.
Obviously, multiple-time Super Bowl champ, you've been around.
Whenever you think about this week and all the shit, boom, boom, boom.
I knew they'd be here.
Oh, my gosh.
So sorry, so sorry.
The boom boys.
Oh, my God.
I'm so.
Boom!
You're a swall boy.
Not a swole is.
Holy shit.
Good to see you guys.
Congratulations.
Thank you so much.
I know you're a worker, obviously.
I've seen you guys.
Whole family getting in on the gimmick and getting to eat off of it.
That's awesome, dude.
You guys should be pumped.
For that, no, no problem.
Hey, for what you guys have accomplished, we'd like to give you 10.
Whoa.
Boom.
I think that was 10.
I think that was 10.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Hey, congratulations.
You guys are awesome.
Hell yeah, hell yeah, that was awesome.
What is your problem?
Dream come true.
What was your problem?
What was your team guy?
Why weren't you fucking?
I did say boom.
It caught me off gone a little bit, but I did say boom.
You didn't do the arm, but I said boom.
I didn't do the arm, but I said boom.
Do you know the boom boys die?
I do now.
The Boca Raton boy.
Come on, dude.
That's a boom boys.
That's a heavyweight champion of the world.
A.W.
You can tell.
Yeah, I know.
Kyle.
Kyle.
I don't know.
I don't know how you feel about the boom stuff.
I want to let you know you need to go on board.
I'm on board.
Hey, buy in.
Boom.
Nah, see?
Nah, he did.
He was there.
Boom.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, we're getting them.
We're getting them.
We're getting it.
That was a dream for us.
Thank you for that.
Wow.
Now, they can't hear us right now because we're talking to the microphone.
But if that was like a year ago, we'd be much more fucking jump, pumped up about it.
Yeah.
I'm not up.
I'm still pumped up.
I'm still pumped up.
We appreciate you guys.
Isn't their speakers to the crowd?
Oh, they can hear me.
They can hear me.
No.
I fucking love you guys.
I do.
This is, this is dad, son.
Have you heard of Christmas on?
I think the whole thing, they literally put the whole family on.
Booming on fools.
You would like, you would like them.
Big Justice and big Costco, boom, boom.
We're very thankful.
Kyle, let's talk about Super Bowl.
Let's talk about it.
You got fucking big justice roaming around.
I mean, you got so many distractions.
You got booming all over the place.
You got George Kittle rolling around here.
If you're in the game, how much of this stuff do you know is happening?
Like, how much of this are you thinking about or knowing that it exists?
That's a great question because all of it doesn't matter if you don't win.
You have the family pictures that you have, you know, with your family.
You get to go to the stadium and have family pictures.
That doesn't mean as much if you don't win.
It really, that's just how it goes.
You fail the season.
You have the confetti fall on your face after you lose the game.
It's just everything doesn't matter after that.
But when you do win, having those family times on the football field
taking pictures with the coaches and the players, you get that forever.
And I've been able to experience that time, you know, that moment twice to win.
But to be able to look back on the two weeks and the preparation and the whole year,
it means that much more when you win versus you'll lose.
And someone's going to have that this weekend.
If you lose, you weren't even in a Super Bowl.
No, it doesn't matter.
Legit.
You might as well have been, you know, out.
Yeah, and maybe not even make the playoffs.
That is kind of how it's viewed.
Yeah.
In the locker room, too.
You lose the Super Bowl.
In the locker room, you just think to yourself, okay, we have the shortest offseason
and everybody else, and we didn't fucking win.
That is literally, I was there, my rookie year had no idea how hard it was going to be that
we were never going to get back.
And then you get a pat on the back, like, you made it to the Super Bowl.
Like, getting invited to events.
This guy was in a Super Bowl.
Yeah.
It's like, all right, this is great.
I'm a loser.
Yeah, it would be cool.
To be on the other side of this, although I had really no say in how any of that win.
A lot of people get blamed for why we lost that game, and I'm not one of them,
so I'm pretty pumped up about that.
But we didn't win, so we didn't have the moment.
You're right.
I was the blamed into mind when we lost against the Eagles.
Tom throws for 500, and we couldn't get off a football field on defense.
Oh, long off season.
Long, long, long off season.
AJ has a question for you, Kyle.
Yeah, speaking of those two Super Bowl wins, how was the post game, like the team party and who performed with those?
Also, in your loss, did someone perform, and was there a performance?
was their apartment?
Yeah, so let me start with the loss
because we got to talk about it.
The wins are better, but the loss,
I actually almost got in a fight after
because they have fans that are there
after that pay to go.
Oh, really?
It feels like a bad idea.
A bunch, a bunch.
And so when a moushole pays to go,
they want their money's worth.
So let me get a picture.
I'm like, I don't want to let me get a picture.
And I was like, hell no.
And they're like, hell yeah.
So I'm talking to my family.
They console me because I'm pissed.
It's cold.
It's in Minneapolis where it was like negative 40.
Yeah, exactly.
You lose the game and then you walk out and you lose again.
Yes.
It was crazy.
But after that, you're in there and fans, they pay.
There's people performing and people want pictures still because they pay a lot of money
to be at that after party.
Well, I'm not feeling pictures after I lose.
And these three dudes were ready to fight me for a picture.
And my dad's like holding me back.
My brother, like, grabbed me and, like, took me away.
Luckily, we got out of there.
But let's celebrate the wins because Snoop Dog is a very good friend of Robert Kraft.
And so when they win, I would put money on that Snoop Dog is going to be at that performance.
Might be indulgent in something, but he's having a good time.
He is having a great time.
I don't know.
I just said indulgence.
A lot of dancing.
He actually will have pole girls dancing.
That's how crazy it gets.
Oh, really?
Yes.
That's what you're crazy.
That's why you're wains super.
Yeah.
Hey, he's wienable.
Great.
Had meek Mill dreams of nightmares.
It was kind of crazy because.
Hold up.
Wait a minute.
Yeah, he played the week or he played the year before for the egos and then was like,
I'm going to come back in on the winning team again and perform for the.
Oh, I think Robert Kraft helped get him out of jazz.
too, so I think they had quite a connection.
He signed up real quick for that.
Yeah, I will say, Rick Ross, I think Kraft is known for having incredible celebrations
because they have been there so much and they know what to do.
Yeah, but I like his parties at his house that much more.
That's a little intimate setting, no fans, no nothing.
It was at his house and it's fire.
It's like you get a comedian to start it off.
started off. He actually likes to appetizers.
It's going to be a little bit of pop-byes for all of us to start it off.
And then we have a nice meal. We like that.
That does sound great. And you guys up there in New England had so much time to get used
to what the right moves is. Yes, sir. There are some people who don't follow the ball as closely
who I asked them about the Super Bowl and they say, New England's won too much. I don't
want to see them win. They don't even know it's like a brand new team up there basically.
How do you kind of view it as old-school?
Patriots guy and now this brand new but very similar Patriots team that's kind of happening right now in
front of them. Yeah, I think it's the blueprint because Vrable was a part of that. I think he's obviously
made it Patriots 2.0. That's what I'll call it Patriots 2.0 because he still has the mindset of
the previous, no, excuse me, two previous people, sorry Mayo. The previous coach before that,
sorry, and Bill Belichick.
Not a Hall of Fame.
Yeah, yeah.
Sorry, not a Hall of Famer, which is crazy.
Robert Kraft as well.
Not a Hall of Famer.
Brutal.
But.
Vinnetary, though.
Good for him. It's awesome. A good for him. I was awesome. And were you shocked? It was they picked the Colts jersey to represent.
The graphic.
The Hall of Fame graphic.
So for Peyton, they put him in a Broncos.
Like, whenever he left the Colts.
It was just the last team he played.
Yeah, when he left the Colts, you never saw him in a Colts jersey.
Like, he was in a Broncos jersey for like five years after he retired.
And I think they just potentially go with the most recent team.
Okay.
But on that note, whenever they announced the entire class, he was in a Patriots jersey.
So I think they put them up this one.
They had him in a Patriots.
Oh, cool.
But in the NFL, you don't have to select which team you're going in as, which is very good news.
That is, I've asked Vinny.
That'd be awkward.
I've asked him that since like year or two of me with the Colts.
It's like, hey, when you go and who are you going to go and he's like, I don't have to do that.
And then like a year later I'll get boozed up or something.
I'm like, so what are you going?
Yeah, it's like I would always ask him.
It doesn't matter.
But I think because Kraft is not in and Bill's not in, I do think Vinny is like representing for the New England team.
So I think there will be a good collaboration hopefully.
Like that.
Do you think they do the same thing to Tom now?
What do you mean?
Make it back?
Not getting in because.
No.
No.
Well, we would have said that about Bill.
Hope not.
Can't do that.
Can't do it, right?
Hope not.
There's no way.
If not, then we're lighting it on fire.
Correct.
The whole process?
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Because even Tony Dungey, who is getting attacked for maybe not voting for Bill Belichick.
He played the fifth.
He did, but he also said, I hate the process.
Like, everybody has said they hate the process and how it works.
I don't know if they're ever going to get it right, but I do know, like, the Hall of Fame still means something.
And we need it to continue to mean something.
I agree.
More players should be in it, the process.
Next year, there's like 13 guys that could potentially be first battle.
And I do believe everybody should have it, say, media, front office, people that are well deserving, that have the credentials and players.
Hall of Famers.
Correct.
If they want to.
Correct.
If they watch ball.
Correct.
Yeah, because not everybody that is an ex-player watches ball.
That is pretty apparent, especially during these radio row weeks, some ex-legions will drop in there.
What are you the Seahawks?
I'll tell you.
What Mac Jones has been able to do with his second opportunity up here in Seattle.
This guy, Sam Donald's his name.
Yeah, that's what you're the guy.
Same guy.
There's a lot of that.
So the people that know should be able to get in there is how we all feel.
I'm happy you feel the same way.
Debutt has a question for you, Cal.
You obviously know we got to make our picks here soon, so I got to hear it from you.
These two quarterbacks, I want to know, and I'll assume you have a dog in the fight,
but I want to know which quarterback.
Who got married Tom Brady, Tom?
Yeah.
But which quarterback do you again?
expect to have the better performance against these defenses that they're facing the Super
World. That's a great question. Obviously, I'm going with the Patriots to smart all-decade
linebackers, so got to go with my squad. Hell, yeah. Now big deal.
Drake May. Josh McDaniels has done an unbelievable job. He's still raw, as we can see during
the playoffs, still making some pros that you're like, hell yeah, he's got it. I'm actually
going to go with Darnold because
they've been more successful
on the run and I believe
Darnold has
JSN and I just think they're flowing right now
more so than what the Patriots
have done. So I like
JSN and Darnold to get things going
but something inside me
is saying Drake May is going to be like
I am here.
I'm ready to take over
this time. I'm going to put my hat in the ring with the Joe Burrow, the Justin Herbert,
and Jalen Hertz in a Super Bowl. Like, you know, Joe Burrow played pretty good, but I just think
Drake May is going to put his hat in the ring. And I think he's going to show the world that
why he went number three, but he's that dude. Isn't it weird, though, that the four and a half
point spread, like my natural opinion is, Brable's not going to let them lose by more to four and a half
points. But like last year, we'll blow
out. Yeah. And it could
be because I will say, Drake
has turned the ball over.
Yes, I'm going to rep Patriots,
but on the flip side,
you got to go back and
look what he's been doing lately.
Lately, it hasn't been what you
want at all. A lot of good defenses.
But two weeks, the best defenses.
But two weeks, and you're
going against another team that I
know prepares very well
with Mike Mack. One of the best
teachers in the game right now on defense. He's able to make one coverage and alignments look
the same where he can play different coverages in the same alignments where it might get you a
tick, tick, tick, bough. Yeah, there's a tick, tick, tick bow. And that's what happening to drink.
Now, on that note, Hemba stat here, the Patriots will become the third team to face the top three
scoring defenses in a playoff run. Texans, Broncos, and then now the Seahawks. The 2006 Colts won all three,
1975 Cowboys have done that. So it's been a tough road for
Drake May in his second year.
Also, the weather hasn't been fantastic.
A win to win.
Exactly.
And that's the only thing that matters in New England.
I think you all kind of feel that way, especially in playoff.
Connor has the last question for here, Kyle.
Yeah, just like with Denver, you know, he scored 10 points.
You win, who cares?
Josh McDaniels.
Obviously, you play defense.
He's on the offensive side.
But what is he going to do, you think, for Drake May against Seattle?
What would McDaniels do for Brady when they were going up against, you know, some of those top defenses as well?
Great question.
I think one thing that we saw the pre-year-old.
previous game when they were playing, sorry, the Rams were playing.
Stafford had a good time checking the ball down and getting vertical,
getting yak yards, getting 15, 20 yards of pop.
I believe that this game is going to be a cat and mouse of like, hey, Drake,
let's hit Henderson out the backfield.
Let's see Hunter Henry catch a couple get upfield to allow that zone to come get closer a little bit.
Then Drake May is going to try to hit some shots and you're going to get some trick plays to booty to pop.
I see that.
If you go back and look at the Saints game, they were dunking on the Saints.
Sorry, Beast Bailey, because Beast's defense played a lot, lot better over the season.
But I just want to bring this up.
Oh, yeah.
I forgot he's still doing it, that.
And I just believe it's going to be the cat and mouse game to find those deep down shots.
But it's going to start with the cat and mouse of hitting the dink and dunk.
dunks letting those guys get up the field and get some yak because the Rams had success in their game doing that.
Patience. And obviously the Rams had the MVP playing quarterback. Drake's second place in the MVP voting.
Having the discipline just to kind of take what they give you as opposed to wanting to do the big thing.
I think Drake and Josh McDaniel should be able to figure that out, but who knows? Go ahead, Tone.
Yeah, Kyle, I have a shit memory, so I apologize. I know you played the Steelers twice this year.
I can't remember how Aaron did or the results.
But do you think Aaron's got another year in him if he wants to?
He didn't have that catch that should have been a pick.
Isaiah likely also was a touchdown.
And the last game, we don't want to get into that.
But I do think he has enough juice.
I think he needs more weapons.
I do think the Vikings, after I've seen on Radio Row this week,
that the Vikings players are a little like, hey, we will, you know,
Hi, a little going on.
That was rumored last year.
You're talking about Aaron?
They're trying to recruit Aaron?
Are you talking about Aaron Rogers?
I think so.
Hey, the right side's sitting a little sideways on your head there.
Oh, thank you.
But the Aaron Rogers in Kevin O'Connell's offense, we talked about that all last year.
It's like if he just has to know what the defense is and then pick where he needs to go.
He has to be accurate.
A lot of coaches.
A lot of coaches like, you know, control.
Aaron Rogers comes in.
Are you going to get that control?
Oh, you're saying.
Maybe KOC's offense becomes K-A-A-R-R-R-S.
Oh.
See offense.
That's what you're saying.
But the thought of Aaron Rogers and KOC's offense is one that we all got jacked out.
With Jettas?
Well, and also, KOC can scheme up anybody to be open.
Jordan Addison's wide-ass open.
Hawkinson, who we don't even hear about, who's our dog.
Aaron Jones in the backfield.
Justin Jefferson had 180 yards in the first half of a game.
He's supposed to not be a game record.
Yeah.
So, like, if Kevin O'Connell can scheme up Justin Jefferson
to have 180 yards.
If Aaron Rogers is potentially throwing the football to those people,
I think we all got pretty excited about the possibilities,
but interesting dynamic there.
I want to throw last thing before you touched on it.
I don't know everybody's thoughts on it.
You brought up the MVP missing the one vote.
I'm sure you guys saw the gentleman that came out and said,
I voted for Herbert.
I don't know if you've touched on that.
We have not really.
I would love to know quick thoughts, you know, down the road real quick.
What are your thoughts?
What are your thoughts?
What exactly did the guy say?
He came out and voted for Justin Herbert and said he was the most valuable player.
He did more with less, right?
Yes, of what he had.
His O line was trash.
Sorry, they were trash.
We've seen the BFF.
But let's not give them credit either.
No, no, I'm not.
I hate them.
Okay, me too.
I am too.
But they didn't play well.
You could see that on film.
Okay.
And I understand what he's saying, but then it's kind of like, well, you could do that for anybody, right?
Yeah, I mean, it's
He should have out
He came out
He came out and I think he thought he was going to be a hero
And that is not
Especially right after the Bill Belichick shit
Yeah, it was a very bold move. Yeah, it was a very
Now he is a voter
But I do respect that he came out and said it though
Agreed. I do give him that. He didn't hide
Like some people are hiding right now
About them, the
Hall of Fame voting. But the block
was hot for voters. Yes. So him
throwing himself out there saying, you know what?
Actually, yeah,
Yeah, everybody else was maybe saying it was two horse race.
I've been saying this whole time.
It's the fucking guy, nobody else says.
And it's like, well, sir, it's a one vote difference here.
If you would have participated in the thing, maybe would have a little bit of a lot.
And that's why I asked that question.
Like, what are your thoughts?
I don't have a vote.
Tone has a vote, though.
What are your thoughts on your co-A.P.
Voters potentially thinking outside the box to maybe punt on having to make an actual decision?
Congrats on having a vote.
It's awesome.
It is.
It's awesome.
I take it very seriously.
Yeah.
I think it's a, I am a fan of,
the doing more with less
vote. I did that last year
with Josh Allen, even though Lamar probably
had the better stats. I know, I know.
But then I looked at it this year.
Stafford had 45 touchdowns
or whatever, but I thought
they have the best wide receiver room
in the entire NFL.
You know, you got McVeigh and everyone there.
So I thought Drake, having the highest
completion percentage of all time, while also
having the highest yards per attempt
while doing that with wide receivers
who Stefan's coming off, Stefan Diggs is
awesome, but he's coming off in ACL.
You know, you have Bouté and Pop Douglas and Hunter Henry.
But, like, those aren't like names.
You're like, holy shit, that's Pooka and Davante Adams or whatever.
So I went with Drake.
I don't mind thinking out.
I think there's like a do more with less angle, but I think there's a line.
One, I think Drake could have been to do more with less.
If you were going to do the do more with less,
you can participate in what the MVP race was.
You can do more with less, but then also have MVP numbers.
Like, that's a thing.
So that's why I went with Drake in that one.
I get the Herbert thing, but I don't.
Like, that's, I mean, there's a line.
Yeah, but also, Sam, I appreciate you doing it.
Go ahead.
I like Sam, that was a goofball move.
Yeah.
We all, we're dancing.
We told her, that's a goofball move.
Sam, you know better than that.
I talked to him yesterday.
I told him, Sam, you're killing it.
And I saw that last night.
Like, yeah, take his vote away.
What?
See, is that comfy?
Is that comfy back there?
Everybody's calling for votes now.
The Bill Belichick thing, right into this,
I think, is really the kind of link.
there whenever you talk about it.
But yeah, Sam coming out and saying,
let me tell you, somebody that has one of these 50
votes, why I did what I did, why
everybody else was wrong, basically.
Yeah, we appreciate that.
That's what I said. You did it so you
opened the door, but we should take away
the vote.
Thank you, but we'll
take that back. Okay, will you do a
shot for charity?
If that's what you would like me to do,
I will do it.
We would like that.
All right. That would be nice.
Can I take off this?
No, you got to keep it.
That's the only rule in the back.
But we got to get the crowd going.
Everybody, come on.
Come on.
There we go.
Ben.
Oh.
Not terrible.
No, not terrible.
Bill.
Oh, boy, Bill.
Check ball.
Back.
Bang.
Oh.
Bill.
Bill.
Yeah.
A wrestler.
Check ball.
I look like a linebacker shooting.
That's what.
Back.
Oh, I try to go bang three times.
Hey, you were better than the other BYU linebacker we had on.
Got worse.
Shot out.
He was terrible.
All right.
Shout out my dog, Fred Warren.
My dog's Jack right now.
That's all he's doing is eating weights.
He had a worst shot.
And you had booke on.
Hey, hey, let's go.
We are a pro-Mormon show.
Let's go.
You guys do what you got to do.
James on, too.
James, obviously.
Yeah.
We've been talking to the Lord out here a little bit.
Hell, yeah.
It's football.
Amen.
Hey, man.
One last shot.
Okay.
We got to try to make it, though.
I feel like you've been trying to like, you know.
Make it like look decent.
Cool fit, by the way.
Thank you.
Very good.
Yours too.
Thank you.
How tall are you?
Thank you, sir.
How tall are you?
Guess.
It looks like six.
No, but I appreciate that.
Six four.
I'm six four.
Very until you're tall.
I think we forget how tall.
Yeah.
TV makes me look kind of small because I think it's because you're going around these big
ass old linemen.
Like AQ.
AQ's.
No, AQ is small now.
No, he's not.
The mountain Thor wouldn't even squat him because he's too fast.
I was hanging out with him back there.
For 20 grand to a charity of your choosing.
Okay.
This is it.
All right.
Kyle Van Neu representing BYU.
All right.
Oh, it's trash.
Not even close.
I will say, hey, I did yesterday in this little booth.
I called my shot with a 9-iron 172.7 hit that.
Yes, 99.
172.7.
Is this that altitude?
Lulu Lemon, they had to call
corporate because they had to give me more money
for how much I made doing the call
on my shot.
Oh, yeah.
Let's go.
Are you just creeping away?
I was like, I'm out of here.
Thank you, love.
Thank you, love.
That was awesome.
All right. Yeah, you got it.
Please do. Welcome out there anytime.
Right. See, man.
you, brother. Now is the time.
See, but. Oh. We've gotten here.
All right, dude. He's been pacing in the back.
Keep any energy. We appreciate you, dude. Take care, brother. We'll see you soon.
Kyle's awesome. Yeah. Always.
I didn't know he's going to be here. Did you guys know he's going to be here?
No. I saw him back there, but yeah.
Yeah, you guys kind of got eyes on us. I can see you.
I'm getting ears from Bruce. Calvin. Noise back in?
AQ's been giving me the brain like every five minutes.
Who is the guy? What? What's that?
What do you mean? You squeeze and.
and it looks like a brain.
Okay, yep.
So who was the guy that was just walking around out here?
He used to do the incredible ad reads.
Jim Gray.
I'll tell you what.
All right.
With Tom.
He hosted the show with Tom.
Yeah.
Out of court.
I understand that.
I thought he was hosting the show.
He was going to host.
He was a good guy.
I guess, I don't know, actually.
He's been around.
I've never met him.
Okay, I don't remember him today.
He's just standing on a fucking stage before 10 seconds before we go live, you know?
Hey, why is this guy in here?
Who is this guy?
and then it turns, oh, it's Jim Gray.
Hey, let me tell you about Morty's...
Okay, I know Jim Gray.
Oh, yeah, you know this guy's right.
Why is this guy on our...
That was a good question.
He was just kind of walking.
I guess he's a lot of do whatever he wants.
Yeah, I don't know if he does that
Let's Go podcast with Larry,
because remember initially Larry was part
of the thing with Tom, and then
Tom just doesn't do it anymore, so
but I don't see anything, and I certainly don't hear
the ad reads anymore.
Yeah, so on that note, it was nice to see him,
but it does feel like people just got real comfortable,
just kind of walking in and out back there.
I hope they go to all the drive,
We try to fill them up, and we've been very thankful to everybody that stopped by here.
It has been cool to meet everybody, and the only way to end our radio row experience is with the same person that has ended our radio row experience since the days in which we had the same size stage as Shine has right now.
Ladies and gentlemen, representing Canada, sports rage, Gabe Marenci.
Yeah, Gabe-O!
Game-O!
There it is!
Jack is clean.
Rank it in, motherfucker
Jack, you're always great to see you, buddy.
Go, come!
Yeah.
You know how to work.
Hey, but us.
No.
For the people that are watching here in the United States of America,
they do not fully understand that you are a man up there in Canada who basically
started talking about sports gambling as a radio show 35, 40 years ago.
Been in the game a long time.
You're also somebody.
Not quite that long, but.
How long has it been?
We're moving in on our 25th anniversary this year.
Long time.
This year.
And this is our fifth anniversary right here with you on Media Row.
A tradition like no other, right?
Augusta, the Buffalo Bill's choking and not being here,
and me being on the show.
He's not heard Bill's fan, obviously,
and I've learned a lot about you through Gumpy,
who is obviously one of your biggest fans.
What you've done for us here at Radio Row
is bring great juice, but also great odds on things
that we haven't thought about.
You will tweet every single thought that you have out on to X.
Too many of them, yes.
We have a guy here who has your notifications on, actually.
Do you think about how crazy that is?
This man has your notes.
notifications on and it keeps us
informed on every thought that you have
including the wind outside of your apartment
someday. We love you. We appreciate
you. What are you been looking at for this Super Bowl?
What is your mindset on how the game is going to go
and how are you profiting off of it? And in turn,
what do we need to be looking at, you think?
I'll tell you what, anytime a point spread is
four, four and a half, five points, it means
the odds makers are kind of stumped as well.
And it's never sexy to say,
everybody wants to have a stone coal lock and this is going
to happen. The odds makers are
good at their job, really good at their
job. And I wouldn't be surprised if this game
sort of lands right around
both numbers, the 45 and a half,
which is the total, and
as well as with the point spread, is it
4.5 right now. Everybody's
underestimated the New England Patriots all year.
We've talked about their cupcake schedules, and
I'm going to throw it out there right now.
What, you know, analytics,
what are the first four letters of analytics?
Anal. Exactly.
So, I've heard people talk, oh,
analytically, the Patriots are the worst team since
1978 with the best record, well, you know what?
They're playing in the motherfucking Super Bowl.
So, maybe...
Well, fucking said.
Yeah, maybe they're not the war or DVO way.
What the hell does DVO mean anyways?
Good question.
What is it mean?
Seriously, you're a pretty good football player.
What does it mean?
Right?
We didn't use it in our film study.
I don't know.
You did go to Ohio State, though, so.
Oh, Michigan man.
That's a compliment.
Oh, sorry, sorry.
No, no worries.
You keep coming.
Sorry, I couldn't.
He's a Michigan man?
Yeah.
Anything that goes through there?
You're not president for a few years.
But I couldn't, I can't help but overlook the FAC guys.
To the New England Patriots, they played three playoff games.
Teams have played three playoff games coming into the Super Bowl.
No team has scored least points in the New England Patriots since the 1979 Los Angeles Rams.
Shout out to Vince Farragamo started in that Super Bowl.
Right?
So they averaged 28 points a game in the regular season, down to 18 in the playoffs.
Yeah, I know it was bad weather.
but everybody's playing in the same weather right now.
The good news is they've given up the least points since the 2000 Ravens.
Okay.
That's why they're here.
Uh-huh.
But they've also 15 sacks.
I have a problem with this.
You know, ultimately, I just see many more pathways for the Seattle to get there.
I believe in Sam Darnold.
And one thing that caught my eye, guys, I'm not going to get too exotic with props,
but Seattle had been super aggressive early in games, Pat.
We saw them just ambushed the San Francisco 49ers early.
They scored on their first drive of the game against the Los Angeles Rams.
I think Seattle guys are going to score on the first drive at the game.
Like right away.
Okay.
I think Seattle score.
And let's get a little bit.
I don't think people are looking at it this way.
I think both teams are going to score on their first drive at a game.
Okay.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Hold on.
We have some Hembo stats.
Opening drive for each team of the last 25 Super Bowls.
29 punts, nine field goals, four turnovers, four touchdowns, two safeties, one turnover on downs, one
miss field goal. Fifty-five points on
50 drives. What does that stat tell you? It's going to change
this weekend. Yeah, that stat tells me this
is why I'm getting plus 350 odds for this.
Seattle have scored touchdowns
on the first two drives of both playoff games already.
They're going to want to be aggressive.
And I like Seattle in the first half, guys, laying the three points in the first
half. You look at Cignetti. I look
at Seattle like a big 10 team.
And I'm in the Pacific Northwest now, Pat.
And I get all the Seattle coverage.
I caught on early during training
camp, and you guys would know better than I would.
but when a team buys in,
Daris, you know what I mean?
When everybody likes each other,
there's a bunch of DBs,
you're not really competing,
you're one.
McDonald has sold them as a one,
reminds me of a college football team,
very Michigan-like.
You know what I mean?
They fly to the ball,
they run some play action,
they want to get a lead.
Similar to Indiana,
what Signetti did,
wants to punch you in the mouth early,
get a lead,
put the pressure on you.
I think McDonald and the Seahawks
and Kubiak
is going to be the next head coach
of the Raiders.
I think he's going to go out with a bang like we are on this show right now.
Boom!
And he's going to bust out the playbook, and I look for Seattle's offense to click here more than people expect.
Okay, so you like Seattle in the first half minus three.
Then you like both teams to score on the first drive plus 350.
That's a nice little plus 350 pick.
I'm going to give one for the kickers here.
Please do.
Yes, it's out of veterinary.
Congratulations to the Hall of Fame induction.
Well done.
Let's go long field goal prop.
I think I invented this prop.
Probably did.
No, like, seriously.
I've been betting this thing for like 20, 30, 30 years
where people are like, what the hell is that?
Now we've got the long field goal prop.
It's pretty casual.
It's only 48 and a half yards.
Oh, Amher.
And we got two coaches here, too, guys,
that aren't these modern sort of psychopaths that are allergic to field goals?
I think Seattle, we've seen, they'll settle for three.
Yeah.
Right?
They'll take the three points.
I think Vrabel, same thing.
Take the three.
Let's not get too crazy.
Three points, three points.
they all out up.
I'm so sick and tired
to seeing these so-called genius coaches
and the analytics once again.
They go for it all the time
on their first drive at a game.
They can't settle for kicking a field goal.
And they end up losing a fucking game
by three points all the time.
All the time.
AJ, all the time.
Can't do it.
Last question for me before the boys
have a bunch of questions.
What are we hearing about the national anthem?
You know what?
I would go under.
Everybody likes to go over all the time.
I would say under,
but I'm not a big national anthem prop.
But since you asked me and we're here, let's have some fun with this.
Yeah, let's dance around.
Yeah, for an exotic prop littering fitterably.
Let's go plus 450.
Sexuality of streaker.
Male, female, give me non-binary, plus 450.
Let's stick outside the box.
That's plus 450?
Plus 450.
So how do we think we know?
How do we find out if you've hit or not?
Is there going to be you?
Are you going to jump out there and say, hey, then?
I got to be the first person ever to give a non-binary prop on the show.
You have to be.
In the show.
That's a sports range difference.
We were looking for something exotic, right?
We are in San Francisco.
Somebody might want to make a bold statement.
Plus 4.50.
It seems like that should be a little bit higher odds.
Tone has a question for you.
That's what I'm saying, Pat.
The fact that it's not higher odds makes me believe that somebody knows something.
Yeah.
Can be you have a same.
Go ahead, Tone.
Gabe, I have a, I've given out a play of the day.
Today, I have a play of the day.
it's AJ Barner.
Oh, yes.
His over-under rushing yards is a half a yard, okay?
He's had 10 rushes on the season.
He is their push-push guy.
They've only done it twice in the last eight weeks.
I took the under-half-yard rushing on AJ Barner.
Sunday, how do you feel about it?
Oh, you're going under.
I'll tell you what.
I like AJ Barner a lot in this football game.
And in fact, if you guys remember,
we gave Odell Beckham as the first touchdown score.
Oh, yeah, plus eight hunch.
Remember years ago, that was a sweet one.
it would be easy to get.
Kenneth Walker is going to score the first touchdown.
JSN is plus 550 guys.
Which is not a bad answer for that.
Come on.
But we all know it has been said a million times.
They're going to sell out, man.
Right?
Yeah.
To shut down JSN.
I think Cooper Cup is the big,
I think Cooper Cup, he's getting another ring.
He's going to get the last laugh here on the way out.
Fuck you.
His prop.
Sorry, Boston Carter.
his prop was two and a half it's up to three and a half right now but i think cooper cups get to score a touchdown
and we got to do something you know exotic i here something bold a j barner first touchdown of the game
what is it plus 1400 okay go blue could you imagine if you hit that right that'd be a good day for the entire
program guys he had the second most touch receiving touchdowns on the team the monster you get great numbers
because people think it's going to be a lower scoring game.
People think that Sam Darnold sucks.
So all the props are low for the Seattle players.
Even JSN at six and a half.
You can sell out.
He's still getting eight, nine catches in this game, right?
They're going to fight different ways.
They're going to move them around.
But Cooper Cup is up to three and a half receptions right now,
but it's plus 130 to the over.
They brought Cooper Cup in for a reason.
Exactly a game like this.
He's been in this spot before.
They're going to sell out on JSN.
Cooper Cup's going to be a nice safety blanket.
I don't want to put too much pressure on Ardarner.
His prop is two and a half catch is.
Good eye by tone talking about how he does.
He is used as a tush push, and he does run the ball sometimes.
But you're getting like plus 250 odds for him to score a touchdown.
Cooper Cups in a plus 300 range to score a touchdown.
These odds are just too good.
Everybody is going to be putting Walker and JSN in their same game parlays.
Let's start a little lower on the list.
God, Gabe, I love the way you've been talking.
Go ahead, DeBud.
You know, I'm a defensive guy, so I want a defensive bet.
You gave me a great, gave us a great gimmicky bet last year, the total tackle.
Oh, then you asked me about it, too, the tackles.
Two-partner, what's a good defensive bet?
And also, it's year five now.
What's your record?
That's what people want to know, too.
Well, our record here now, this is year five.
We're three and one.
And the one we lost was the Philadelphia Eagles against the Cad City Chief.
So I really do want to add strong here with a nice four in one through the first five years.
I want to let you know this game.
Whenever we were eyeballing Radio Row here,
we had a dry raceboard with all the names that were getting pitched to us.
First time we've done this because we're starting to kind of figure it out
and people are reaching out to us.
There was only one name that was really slotted into the thing.
You know that.
It was yours.
And it was right there at the bottom.
And it's not just because how much we love you,
but because you have given us great information over the years.
It feels like this is a perfect time to hear all of your years worth of work
kind of spoo through the microphone.
So we appreciate you doing that.
But if you lose this time, we'll never fucking see you again.
I appreciate the opportunity and the platform.
No, no pressure, no pressure at all.
No, we do love you and you give us winner.
I appreciate that, man.
It feels like Super Bowl.
You're seeing it clearly normally?
Is that kind of how you feel or why?
You know what?
I've been pretty locked in this year in the NFL
and in the playoffs as well.
I've had a good feel for the Seattle Seahawks this year
right through training camp, right?
And it just sort of started to buy in for the culture.
change of Metcalf and Lockett and Gino Smith not being there anymore.
McDonald wanted to make it his team.
And they just bought in right now.
So I just really, really like the makeup of this team and seeing how they came together,
I do think Seattle are going to finish the job off.
I've flip-flop a little bit with my final score.
You know, I was thinking 30, 30-21, Seattle.
30 to 21?
Yeah, but in that range.
But I've got it a little bit now.
I've settled in.
2720 will be my final score prediction.
2720, you can get that at about 100 to 1,
125 to 1 in that range with the final score.
And the Seattle Seahawks are Super Bowl champions once again.
I think the game goes over the number, the 45 and a half.
I just think it's a little bit too light that we're going to get into the high 40s, low 50s here.
Does it scare you that 70% of the public bets were on the Seahawks last week,
and now it's 65%.
Yeah, I hate that.
I hate that.
The Patriots have a gombos are good gamblers.
Yeah.
Go have a dog stats.
Full disclosure.
Like, I'm supposed to hate the Patriots.
Almost like the Boston Celtics.
Like, Jason Tatum's a hard dude to hate.
Like, how do you hate?
It's like hating a puppy.
Yes.
Like, how do you hate Jason Tatum done wrong?
Like, you know, but what's Jason Tatum done wrong?
Like, you know, I really hate that son of a bitch.
And it's the same thing, like, the Patriots over the year, especially he's a Bill
fan.
And all due respect to the legend, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.
but it just sicken me
watched them kick our ass
like year after year after year
Drake May is a good kid
Mike Vrable I go back guys
my first Super Bowl pat on Meteor O
was Nipplegate the Janet Jackson
Gavely that was my first Super Bowl
on Meteor O
and it was quite an adventurous week
and I'll never forget
Mike Vrable one on one
you know the big media scribe everyone's all this
you know hey you know I go up
Mike Vrabble is the nicest guy in the world to me.
10-15 minutes.
Shout out to Tyrone Poole, too old school.
Hell, yeah.
Typool was super cool with me, like my first ever Super Bowl,
and it always stuck with me, man, what a cool dude, Rable was.
So I'm happy to see Rable here, actually.
Yeah, the Tennessee Titans.
He's a dog, as you guys would say.
Tennessee Titans is a good decision.
Yeah.
They're in a great spot.
Derek Henry, they had Rable, not anymore.
AJ Brown, can you tell me a little bit about Radio Row as a whole,
media row as a whole?
Your thoughts on how it's kind of evolved, or has it evolved?
What are your thoughts on it?
You know what? It's kind of the same every year.
I think it's a little bit less of a circus this year
than past years here because it's so spread out.
There's a lot of the media, Seattle media,
are set up in San Jose.
Really? I didn't know that.
Yeah, that's where they're set up.
And I know you guys talked about the power plant earlier,
but no offense to San Jose State University.
But I'm thinking that the Seahawks really must not want
to practice at the 49th facility.
They're like, yeah, we'll go to San Jose State.
Right?
Yeah, no one's practicing there.
Pat's her at Stanford.
Yeah, Patriots at Stanford as well.
But as far as the MVP of this game is concerned,
the media always likes to validate their wrong opinions over the years.
And everybody in the media has taken shots at Sam Darnold.
He's, you know, he's not this, he's not that, he's not elite.
And I don't know what the guy needs to do.
What is what he want?
Like 30 games in the last two years now, part?
346, 4 tons, too, in the playoffs.
He just got done with doing it.
Unbelievable.
And you know, Darius, as a DB,
Sam Darnold throws just those great darts,
over the middle, quick, tight, like tight spaces and stuff.
And I think Kubiak has done an awesome job
putting him in positions to succeed.
Yeah.
Too many coordinators ask quarterbacks to do things that they can't do.
I think they've done a brilliant job with Dardle.
And I think it finishes off and he becomes the first U.S.
Trojan quarterback to win a Super Bowl.
How about the MVP?
MVP, it's not sexy, but we'll have to go with Sam Darnell.
But if we're looking for an outlier here, and oh, yeah, we like Shaheed over the 21 and a half receiving yards.
All it could take is one play with him.
And let's just say the other side of the coin here that the defenses rule this game.
And not much happens.
Maybe a Shaheed punt return for a touchdown is a difference maker.
And you're getting a nice, like, 35 to one range for him.
Yeah, plus 3,000 is currently Shaheed sitting at draft games right now.
Kenneth Walker plus 850, because to his point about media trying to,
back up their own opinions
could definitely see the Seattle Seahawks
winning the Super Bowl
and Sam Donald not winning the MVP.
Usually it's an automatic
it's the quarterback, right?
But I'm kind of in an minority here, Pat,
that I think Kenneth Walker
will have an impact on the game,
but look, he's over under
his 18 and a half rushing attempts.
New England are hard to run on.
Like, they're really hard to run on.
And this is one game.
Not a lot of time, Pat.
You play this Super Bowl.
That clock ticks fast, don't.
It's like last call in a strip club.
You're looking up.
It's like, yeah, we've got to get out of here.
It's like, damn, it's already free.
You know what I'm saying?
So the clock tips, you know, it's going fast in the Super Bowl.
I think that I think they're going to be aggressive.
I think there's going to be opportunities here.
And we talked about defensive props, actually.
Drake May's been sacked 15 times.
And it's not like, oh, it was just 10 times in one game or something.
And it was outlier.
No, he's been sacked at all five games, you know, five times at all three games.
You can get.
get it at two and a half, three and a half, you know,
lay some juice at two and a half with the Seahawks, but
I'd be shocked if the Seahawks don't have
like three sacks in this game.
Coin toss.
Coin toss, I always go with
tails. Me too.
We're going to win this year.
Oh, yeah. You're the best, dude.
Hey, Pat, you're the best. We're going to make our picks
now. Will you stay out here for it? I always
appreciate it. I got a quick story about the jacket.
It looks good. Not a bad one this year.
Oh, good one. Good one.
And also good entrance out there with the back.
Yeah, I figured I'd go big, but
I helped this store.
Shout out to the Intercontinental Hotel.
I think they're going to be watching this show.
The guy didn't believe me at first.
I'll be wearing his jacket on a McAfee show in a couple hours.
Shout out.
So I put the jacket on, and I hear somebody say,
yo, I need that jacket.
I turn around.
It's Tracy Morgan.
Okay.
And Tracy Morgan goes, that's the best jacket I've ever seen in my life.
I need four of them.
I think he thought I worked there or something.
Possible.
I was like, I say, yeah, not bad.
He goes, yeah, yeah, where'd you get it?
I told him on the wall, and then the store owner was real happy pat.
Yeah.
This jacket's going for like $500.
No, it's not.
I bought one, and Tracy Morgan bought four on the spot.
Wow.
He was like, I hope you'll come back later.
I was like, yeah, I bet you do.
Yeah, well, it's a great jacket.
I think this is a great jacket.
Oh, I think this is the best one, guys.
It's nice.
Nah, there was that, maybe.
Well, the Hollywood one.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You like that one, AJ.
Yeah, you know what?
But Tracy Morgan's buying this one.
I think we got to.
Hey, next year is in L.A.,
Maybe you've got to bust out the old, the vintage next year.
Especially if they're going to keep charging 500 bucks for the year.
Yeah, yeah, maybe we recycle the old one.
Maybe people wouldn't notice yet.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, because the only time I see the jacket is when you walk out.
Right now.
It always looks great.
Okay, let's make our official picks.
We'll go around.
Ty will start with you.
Seattle Seahawks minus four and a half.
Super Bowl Sunday.
McDonald's, Sam Donald, Sports Rage, Gabe Borencey,
says the Seattle Seahawks win.
27-20. Cover.
Over hits as well. Do you see it the same
as sports rage? And can you do
this as Game Marency?
Well, you know, I mean, I could probably try. I don't know if I'm going to be able to
have the same type of juice. All week
coming into this game, I thought
Seattle's going to beat the fuck out of me.
But the closer
we've gotten to this day, maybe
it's because the rage is flowing through me.
I can't believe I'm
fucking saying this, but
I like the page.
Patriots 24, 21.
So I'm not to disagree with you.
A lot of great stats, I'm going to have to diving into it, obviously.
Wow.
But it's Drake May's time.
Boston Card doesn't even seem happy about this.
No, I mean, at the end of the day, we all know.
Super Bowl's won on Sunday, not today.
And of course, you know, when Ty Rage is on, you know, the New England Patriots side, it means more.
But everything you said is exactly why the Patriots will win.
everyone loves the Seahawks, 74% of the money, the underdogs, the easy schedule, all this bullshit, this is what happens with New England.
And this is exactly why people hate the New England Patriots, because they feel like every single time, and I say they feel other people who aren't Pat's fans feel like every time they win the Super Bowl, it's for some bullshit reason, like an easy schedule, like Jared Stidham in the AFC championship, like bad weather against the Texans.
And if you go back and look, everybody's picking against the Patriots damn near every week.
Like after Houston, a lot of people like Houston.
And then, you know, the Patriots beat the fuck out of them.
And then, well, weather stung and C.J. Stroud stung.
So that's not, you know, that's not because the Patriots.
No, you're right.
People were saying the best defense in the NFL going into that game.
Exactly.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Three for three in Red zone.
Yeah.
And they were.
They were historic all year.
But it feels like every single time, you know, people have counted the paths out.
They've answered the bell.
And I just don't see how.
how McDaniel's coaching in his ninth, appearing in his 10th, you know, Super Bowl with the Drake May.
He's going to know what to do.
You know, the Seahawks defense is great.
It's not in the top three of best defenses McDaniel's ever gone up against,
especially in a Super Bowl situation.
So personally, I mean, I don't want to go out on a limb, but I'm going to go, you know, 33, 13.
Okay.
I like that that's not a limb.
Alternate strength.
That's not a limb.
That's not a limb.
kind of one of the situations.
Sam Darnold doesn't like playing the past.
That's a ledge.
That's not a limb.
That's a ledge.
All the way out there.
But, hey, you've got to go out on the limb because that's where.
Isn't that where the fruit is?
That's right.
Sometimes you've got to do that.
3.3.10.
Okay, you've got a 23 point win over there for Connor and four point win for the Patriots by Ty.
The Toxic Table firmly in the New England Patriots Corner, which I respect, by the way, boys.
I like that we're together.
Thank you, Ty.
Drink it in, motherfucker.
I will drink it up.
Go to.
It's got a one half of the hammer.
Cowboys AP Tone, official pick of the game?
I do think it's going to be a KG affair.
I think the defenses will rule the day.
Obviously, there's going to be some points.
So I'm going to go under, and I'm going to go 2320 Seattle.
Oh, cover by the Patriots.
Good cover.
Patriots plus four and a half.
That's the Madden prediction, by the way.
I did not know that.
Yeah, I would not have not known that either, but my table is right next to them.
and they had it up on this.
We're doing a lot of talking about this.
So here's favored by three and a half to six and a half point in the Super Bowl.
Last five instances, says Hembo.
Obviously, Rams, Patriots, Panthers, and Niners.
And those five games, favorites want one and four outright in Owen five against the spread.
Seahawks sit there at favored by four and a half.
Feels like we have three Patriot covers here by a Toxic Table into Tone.
Dogs have covered five straight and 14 of the last 18, I believe.
Two weeks to prepare for a team.
D-But.
You were drafted to the New England Patriots.
You thought about putting your bandwagon behind the New England Patriots.
Haven't made an official announcement yet.
How do you see the game going, D. Bud?
Oh, I see it being a KG affair as well.
And I feel like more of the star power going into this.
When we do have obviously set runner-up in the MVP with Drake May, who's had a great year.
But more star power, JSN.
You got Nick E.
I'm a superstar.
Leonard Williams.
Kenneth Walker.
Everybody's talking about those guys.
But you mentioned Josh McDaniels, been in his 10th through bowl coaching in his ninth.
Vrable, he played in a ton as a player, first one as a coach.
I'm going to give the Patriots in Edge 28, 24.
Yes.
Patriots win Super Bowl 6th.
Okay.
This is very abnormal, I think, our show.
And this might be because we are hanging with car so much.
Everybody here picking Patriots.
I'm not the only one on Seattle.
We're going to find out next.
AJ Hawk, we currently sit.
I'm 9, 8, and 5 on the season against you.
Obviously, that makes you 8, 9, and 5.
Okay.
Last week, you won, or two weeks ago, you want to own two.
I want one to one.
Okay, shout out to the Seahawks.
Shout out up there in the Pacific Northwest.
AJ, who do you like?
How do you like it for the Super Bowl?
Are the Patriots all the way back?
Are they going to win?
Are they going to cover?
The Seattle Seahawks don't do their thing.
Are you with sports rage?
Are you with Connor rage?
Well, I do like the idea of a KG affair.
I think that could happen.
I think teams might be a little tight early.
Maybe not, maybe take some little easy completions,
but we're maybe punt the ball back and forth,
even though you say they're going to score touchdowns on both drives.
No, no, I can't. Field goals win the back.
Oh, field goals.
Yeah, I don't even score a touchout.
Yeah, score off both times.
That's not bad.
Yeah.
But when I think about, I agree.
Josh McDaniels, the guy's an absolute wizard as far as offensive play caller.
And dialing up matchups and finding the matchups he wants.
I'm taking Patriots 21, Seahawks 17.
Oh, shit.
Wow.
And on that note, I'll take the Patriots plus four and a half as well.
Okay.
And congrats to me.
Another big time win this season against AJ Hawke.
I'm pretty excited about that.
That is good news.
To the boys in the back.
Great work this week, boys.
Good work, boys.
We appreciate you all so much.
To the ESPN production crew that spent a lot of time building this all together,
barcode, Josh, and team.
We appreciate the hell out of you guys.
Great work, great.
This is the best setup we've had in a long, long time.
To the mystic folks who created this entire stage is set
and also the podiums for the Hall of Fame faceoff and everything like that,
we appreciate you, Ben.
You're the man over there, brother.
Your entire team with a good ship.
To all the people that hung out with us here,
we can't thank you guys enough.
And to football, thank you for having the greatest year of all.
all time. Ratings are up into the right for college ball and the NFL, and I think this Sunday,
the greatest game possible is going to take place. I know there's not a lot of superstars,
but brand new faces are about to take the NFL to brand new places as we continue to
ascend up into the right. Thank you so much for allowing us to do this for a living. Team on me.
Team on three. Be a friend, tell a friend something nice. It might change their life. We're in this
thing together. Sports rage, Gabe, anything to say as we head into Super Bowl weekend.
Always a pleasure. Can't wait for lost.
Angeles next year.
364 days of the next hockey trial.
That's right.
We thank you all enough.
Team on me, team on three.
We'll see on overreaction Monday.
Who's going to be the world champion?
We find out on Sunday.
One, two, three, team.
Goodbye.
