Hello, beautiful people, and welcome back to Lucas Oil Stadium, the Loddhaas, the host of the NFL Combine for the 39th straight year.
This particular sports program begins now.
Football!
It's amazing, but they don't give these out in football, do they?
This is actually a feel-good golden Friday here on this February 27th.
We have American hero and legend, Jackie Hughes, currently in Lucas Oil Stadium.
Last night played in Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Penguins fans, the great Jinsers gave him a massive ovation before the game started with a USA chant and everything in between.
You ever know how that's going to go?
Because Sidney Crosby is our guy.
Now, at Big Night Out about a year ago, I asked Sidney Crosby if he wanted to join Team America because of how long he has lived in Pittsburgh.
He turned me down.
A lot of people felt like that was incredibly disrespectful to ask the question.
But is it now?
Yeah.
Is it now?
Who still loves Sid?
Thank you for everything you've done for our entire city.
We absolutely love you.
But Jack Hughes, obviously getting the respect that he earned in the biggest stage that hockey has.
26 million people were watching in a morning game.
5 a.m. Pacific, 8 a.m. Eastern.
The entire country was tuned in as the boys on the ice did what nobody thought was possible.
Topled. Stupid.
I don't mean, I'm talking sports-wise.
I'm not talking about your whole country here.
stupid Canada with an incredible finish from Jack Hughes in overtime.
He ate a stick earlier in the game, lost a tooth, looked like a legend,
became one immediately as he goes five whole.
He is in the building as he travels to St. Louis for his game tomorrow.
We're incredibly thankful that he is here.
And he came up to the suite and he said, hey, boys, you want to take some photos with the gold medal?
And everybody was like, yeah.
And then he said, will you hang on to this?
He had to go, I believe he's in the bowels here at a shower.
Sure.
He's his shower.
I asked Indianapolis Colts and Lucaso Stadium and visit indie people.
I said, hey, Jack Hughes, and they're like, Olympic.
American Hero?
Yeah, we know Jack Hughes.
They're like, the teeth guy.
I'm like, yeah, he's on his way here.
Think he needs a shower.
I think they shut down an entire corner of the stadium, which is how it should be.
As they should.
So we cannot wait to catch up with him.
Obviously, that's a special story.
And we'll be celebrated and remembered in the sports world forever what the boys were able to accomplish.
They're back in their.
NHL season. And I think from the conversation I had with him up at the suite, I think that
team USA boys wish they could have had a little longer selly together. I think that's what they were
thinking. But now they're back into the NHL. The American lads that play for Canadian teams are getting
treated really well. Yeah, they are, aren't they? You guys hate them. Trade them to American
teams. Yeah, seriously. Trade them to an American team with 10. Come on and get them in here.
We'll take a chock. We'll take Brady. I mean, Hollabuck, he's apologizing for winning.
Hey, Hollabuck, don't you apologize for any? You saw it.
every puck pile. This is a hockey game.
And if you guys don't like them up there in Canada, which, listen, you guys, 58 world
championships, hockey is your thing. We understand that.
Curling was your thing as well until curling, Maddie Hamilton came in there.
But it is our sport now.
And we would like our Americans that are up there playing in Canada in a league that is obviously
incredible and represented very well in the Olympic gold medal because there was other leagues
represented in that Olympics as well.
Two NHL refs, everybody on the ice was in the NHL.
so let's not be trying to bury the boys here.
They did something that was special
that they've been dreaming about their entire life.
We cannot wait to catch up with Jack Hughes.
We also have Megan Keller joining us.
Megan Keller is currently in Ottawa, I believe,
because her team, the Boston Fleet, number one team in a PWAHL.
Sure.
Wagon.
Dull.
The Boston Fleet are a great team.
They have a game in Ottawa.
I offered, we offered, to get her a plane to come here
because we thought it would be so incredibly cool
to have Megan and Jack next to each other,
especially with the amount of respect
that they definitely have for each other.
Jack's family involved with the women's team.
He knows them, and he shouted out Megan immediately
after scoring the goal.
Would have been amazing if we had it.
Schedules didn't line up.
They are in the middle of their league up in Ottawa,
so she will join us via FaceTime.
Can I wait to catch up with her?
Daniel Jeremiah moved his sticks.
Hell ya.
Man who's commentating the combine will join us here
in about 5, 10 minutes.
Shregs.
Shregal.
Welcome back, Shregs.
Shregs is going to be on the program.
They're exchanging notes right now.
At the end of the first hour,
he is taller than you think.
Every time we see him in person, it's like,
Wow, Shrig's kind of tall.
Can I wait to catch up with him?
And then, yeah, we'll see if there's any surprises.
Maybe Matt Patricia, defense coordinator of the Ohio State Buccas.
Had a combine night last night.
I'm going to be honest.
Never did this before.
Live in Indianapolis.
So every time the combine's in town, come down here, do the show, shake some hands,
head back home, obviously.
Live here, I'm going to go to bed.
No reason to stay downtown.
Then a bunch of people around the NFL are like, hey,
would love to have a drink with you if you're going to be in town.
Hey, do you want to stop by this?
hey, we're going to be in your town.
Why don't you do this?
And I decided, okay, I'm going to do it.
And I'll tell you, they have a good time here at this thing.
Oh, yeah.
That's what I've heard.
We had a couple bingoes last night.
I mean, I am way too old for that.
Couple pops?
I don't know how these people do this at this combine every single year.
Because I think this is more of a marathon-type situation
in the networking, the conversation, the information gathering, the questioning.
I mean, you're talking about coaches asking assisting coaches,
what's going on in other places.
Scouts talking other scouts.
GM's talking to agents.
And all of this is happening in a couple different watering holes around Indianapolis.
And I happen to being a couple of them with me and Gumpy really put on a good performance last night.
I must say for the boys.
But it was amazing getting to see everybody and like their thoughts on how their team season went,
as opposed to what we talked about for their season or something maybe that has been chatted about
while you're having a couple us cold beers.
It was a fun night.
I'm way too old for that shit.
I'm going to be hung over probably for a week, which I think, hey, fits in for me wearing this.
It does.
It fits it right here.
So we're thankful that we get to do this.
We're lucky to be here.
D-Ns. I'm sorry, D-Bs in tight ends will be on the field today.
Yesterday was extraordinary out of the linebackers.
I thought there was a chance that maybe we might get slower.
Yep, that's not true at all.
We're bigger and faster than ever at the NFL Combine.
And today should be the same as yesterday, and tomorrow will be the same thing.
I think what we saw yesterday is an indicator for what's about to happen.
They are fast.
They are strong.
And it seems like they're more mature.
than they've ever been. You don't see any like
bullshit happening because these guys have been millionaires
since they're 18 years old.
Fascinating development where the league's headed.
Nothing but pride in where it is.
Let's go to one half of the hammer.
Cowboys AP Ton.
Tone yesterday, big day.
And you called a couple of the boys to have a big day, and they
certainly did. Yeah, yesterday was a huge day.
It was the fastest average time for both
the linebackers and the defensive line
that they've ever had. So it was the fastest
class of all time so far on the defensive side.
We highlighted some of these guys yesterday because they are the big names at the top of the draft,
and they absolutely delivered.
You have to start with Sunny Stiles, who athletically, when you look at all the athletic scores,
when you combine all the events, had possibly the top one or two combine of all time.
You jump 43 and a half inches.
He was an incredible basketball player in high school, so that's not surprising.
Then he runs a 4-4-7.
He broad jumps 11-2.
He does all the three cone and the 20-yard shuttle first in the group.
He was first in literally everything, basically.
As a linebacker who's 6'5, 240, he was unbelievable.
His partner in crime at Ohio State, Arvel Reese, who is also 6.4-4-4-2-40.
Full name?
Yes, full name, Arval Reese.
He only did the 40, but that was fine.
He ran a 4-4-6, which was unbelievable.
So those two being at 6-5, 6-4-240,
running those times was unbelievable.
A lot of people questioning why Ohio State didn't go back-to-back win a national championship.
David Bailey, who's your top of Brains.
I'm the number one overall pick on.
The Raiders from IU.
Yeah, thank you.
Maybe there's good players on all the teams.
There was just a lot of questions, okay?
David Bailey, who's the number one edge rated coming out, he ran unbelievable 4-5-1, 4-5-0 was his time.
And then we talked about Jacob Rodriguez, who had all the production, 250 tackles over the last two years, 15 forced turnovers, whether that's interception or force fumbles the last two years.
And everyone was like, okay, well, what's he going to do athletically?
He had like one of the top athletic scores.
So his four, him running a four-five jumping 38, like there's no more questions about this guy either.
a big days for those guys.
Three Jack and Daniels with three different groups,
all saying Jacob Rodriguez would look very good in our uniform.
That was like three different teams.
Fans feel the same way, I think.
Three different everything saying that guy would be great.
And I think everybody's thinking, you know,
is he going to be second, like third,
where is Jacob Rodriguez going to end up at?
So I think he's become a bell of the ball here early
after meeting with him, learning about him,
and seeing him run four, six, or whatever it was.
People are like, okay, so he'll be able to keep up.
And it up going down to 457, I believe.
And then also his brain, he's a football guy, and he's a turnover machine.
I mean, so it's like he is potentially, I don't want to say, the biggest jump yesterday that I,
from my conversations around time last night, but I think a lot of people like Jacob Rodriguez a lot.
And then whenever they met him and saw him run and do his thing, they're like,
we love Jacob Rodriguez after all.
Obviously, Sunny Stiles, R. Val Reis and Bailey, unbelievable stuff yesterday.
I was mesmerized by it.
A lot of guys had great days yesterday.
We were up in a suite, literally just sitting for an hour, just watching this and just so
mind-blown by the speed, by the talent.
And that's what the combine is.
It's a bunch of little moments that kind of go viral.
And that isn't necessarily always just on the field.
Let's go to the toxic table at Boston Conner and great to see you, Ty.
Good time.
Give you back, boys.
Great to see you, Ty.
We miss the hell out of you.
And the city's better whenever you're in it, brother.
Now, con man, the combine is just a series of viral events.
Yes.
That is kind of what it is.
Daniel Jeremiah, who will be joining us here in a matter of moments,
and Rich Eisen are doing a podcast while people are working out.
Okay, they're doing work.
And then, boom, a moment comes out of nowhere.
This guy's how big and he ran a what?
Boom.
And then what is that guy doing up in a suite?
Who is he?
You want triple platinum yesterday on a tweet.
I think it's potential because you're a patriot and it was about the Jets.
But would you like to explain your side of why you thought this was a notable thing
to put onto the internet for Coach Aaron.
Glenn and the judge? Well, first of all, I think he was in a terrible spot. I mean, we were up there
for an hour, and there's a reason we're only up there for an hour because it is kind of the same
thing over and over again. And Aaron Glenn, he got caught, okay? That's all it was. He took a little
tiger snooze, and he had his little hand on his face, and he fell asleep. Now, I don't blame
Aaron Glenn at all. It does get a little stagnant up there, okay? He's far away. There's no moving
air. I blame NFL Network for showing him on the TV. They got him bad.
and I also blame whoever else is in that room.
He needs better moxie.
I don't know who's around him, scouts.
Oh, they told him.
GMs.
They need to be around him,
keeping him awake,
kind of helping him out.
But my whole thing for the Jets is,
this is great news for the Jets.
The Jets are doing stuff they've never done.
They're falling asleep up in the booth.
I'm now worried.
I think Joe Douglas has done it, actually.
Absolutely.
Somebody put a photo up there.
But that's GM.
You know, I'm assuming,
I'm assuming Bougie was probably in the front row saying,
hey, Darrell Boogey,
he should be falling asleep up there.
He doesn't need to worry about this.
This is my time.
And now, moosey.
What are they?
Moosey, moosey, moosey.
Now what are they doing?
I didn't even hear you choking that one out,
whatever happened over there because there was a conversation.
I saw all the fuck.
It's coming back to me.
I don't know if you heard this yesterday.
The governor called the governor of Illinois a mayor yesterday.
Yeah, that's incredible.
I love that.
That was unbelievable.
He said, that mayor Pritzker up there.
He can't get it figured out.
It's like he's a governor.
She bump him up to 26 at least.
So I didn't know you were going to disres.
respect a person's name like that.
I honestly, you know, lo and behold,
they're picking number two overall. I don't know who's in their front
office, sue me. Okay, but another
thing too, now I think
because of this, hey, they can't get it wrong.
They were snoozing through half the things.
We were looking at Sunny Stiles. The Jets are
going to get Sunny Stiles at two, and that bones me out
because I think the Jets might start doing everything
right because they're doing everything wrong.
They're doing everything that they were supposed
to do leading up to this moment. Now,
I think maybe they say, hey, let's flip this thing
on its head. We don't know what we're doing to begin
with we still stink. We fired our entire
coaching staff, even though we
hired that coaching staff last year.
And now I think Aaron Glenn
and the Jets are on to something. I love
the fact that your
entire angle is, they're doing
nobody else to suppose. They're falling asleep while scouting
players. This is absolutely
genius move. There's a lot of people saying he was looking
at his Microsoft Surface. We'll certainly wait for
him to kind of give a full breakdown
from his perspective. Certainly look
like how I've looked before when I
have potentially dozed off a little bit.
especially when you talk about how repetitive everything is.
Now, DJ Bandcamp is not allowed to play his bangers at all times.
Whenever he gets in here, it is a welcomed amount of energy,
but it is a little stagnant in here.
And Aaron Glenn, I know you know this,
because you've been around a league a long time,
and obviously your head coach, he just leave.
Yeah.
All these guys are just leaving.
A lot of them do, yeah.
They're just watching it on TV,
so then you have no chance to get caught up, Erges.
He probably did the Combine on Wednesday night.
What do Tigers dream of?
When they take a little tiger snooze,
do they dream of mauling zebras,
or Halle Berry in a cat woman suit?
Well, don't you worry your little tiger head.
We're about to get you back to Tyson and your cozy tiger bed.
And then we're going to find our best friend, Doug.
And then we're going to give him a best friend hug.
Doug.
Doug and Doug, the words well enough.
Amazing.
You see, when I started that.
Imagine John Snyder was here for that.
He would have known.
Yeah, he would have.
When I started that, that's the fun little game.
You know, and that's potentially coming fresh off of what I did last night.
It's like, let's see if we still got this one.
Haven't sang that song in a few years.
But if you do see Aaron Glenn snoozing, it's hard not to think about Tyson's Tiger rolling around.
Makes sense.
There's a lot of magic happening here, and even though he might have missed one of the 40s,
the amount of shit that's taking place in his.
Indianapolis is absurd. AJ Hawk
traveling in from Ohio college football
national champion, Super Bowl champion, Ryder Cup
winner. You weren't with us last night.
Obviously, I had to travel back home.
Brought the boy out here today. I think what
I got to experience for the first time, we've always talked about
how it all happens, always talked about how it all happens.
That is how it all, I mean, I've never
seen it, walk in, see it happening,
and it's like, oh, this is actually
Yeah, like the combine networking
situation? Yeah, like, hey, who do you
have? Who do we? Who do we? Like that
networking situation you'll never find anywhere
else. Yeah, the tampering thing that everybody, because it was happening so much. And then
Gadell and the NFL had to put in a legal tampering period, basically, because everybody's like,
hey, yeah, we're all in the same city. A couple guys are going to have some drinks. And then
all of a sudden there's going to be some talking that happened. And the NFL's like, all right,
let's just turn it into what it is. This is where the seeds are planted for free agency frenzy.
This is where the trades are playing. This is where the extensions are happening. It was
really fun last night to see it all age. I wish you were there with us. You were talked about
strictly because they came out and said,
you're the greatest athlete that has ever been in the NFL Combine.
I appreciate the hell out of you, AJ, you were talked about,
I'll let you know, four different teams mentioned seeing this graphic
and saying, tell Hawker that they put them over pretty big.
Sunny Style's had a good day.
Yeah.
Sonny Styles had a good day.
They're saying, not the best, obviously, but it was pretty good.
AJ Hawk, the greatest athlete to ever come through the combine.
This is a special place.
It's a special time, and it does feel as if the next NFL season has officially started.
Yeah, I feel like this is kind of the kickoff to the season.
Like Connor said the other day, like this is where if you're a terrible team this year, say you were horrible, you have hope.
I think everybody has hope right now.
And if you're the Seattle Seahawks, you want it all.
Like now it's like, okay, flush that, that's gone.
It's time to move on.
Let's turn the page.
And yeah, it's just an exciting time to be around, seeing all the coaches and GMs walk by and just see how excited they are, how much they love football.
I wish I would have got a chance to see last night the whole networking.
and I know there's some media members, too,
that jump in and try to get their little,
are they trying to get some information?
Their crubby little pause is what you're going to say?
Rap sheet's direct quote,
and Gumpy and Bruce in the truck were there when he said it.
He basically said, all right, and I've got to get out of here.
I'm going to go walk the streets and hopefully run into people.
That's amazing.
He was aimlessly just walking.
Old school.
My boots on the ground trying to figure out if he can get any scoops.
Now, obviously, Ian Rappaport knows everybody.
So if he sees anybody, he's getting pulled.
And they're coming to him for scoops.
too, they're saying, hey, like, if you're, say you're with the Texans, you're going to go over there and find out what other teams in the division are doing, and hopefully rap sheet has answers.
Buy me a beer.
Wrap and forth.
Let's go. Buy me a beer.
So, okay.
I would just like that.
I think he had 12 Miller High Lives, he said the night before.
Okay.
I hope I'm not out in them there.
So last night, when he was talking to us for a 40-minute period, he only had two steles.
Okay.
And we were actually watching, you know, because noted booze bag, like, this is kind of his thing.
We're like, wait a minute, this is his.
This is his drinking Super Bowl.
Only had two steles.
That might be his night off, though.
No, it wasn't.
He said, I got to.
Saving it up.
Yeah, for what's about to happen.
Going to liquor later in the night.
Yeah, yeah.
It was 11-ish, 10, 30, 11-ish.
Okay, yeah, so early.
He was still.
And he's just getting going?
He was with it.
That's right for him.
It's a week long of that as well.
Girapaport actually just broke some news.
So if you're going to who with the owls,
you've got to be able to soar with the Eagles.
He certainly does that.
The NFL has informed its clubs in a memo that Souther cap number for 2026 is
301.2 million.
Up 22 million.
Up into the rights what the NFL is.
And obviously that's a good thing for players.
That's obviously a good thing for the league,
especially if you're selling your team like the Seattle Seahawks.
Ty Schmidt, anything you've gotten a chance to see
about about the couple days that you think should be talked about or noted.
Yeah, I mentioned this to Tony earlier.
You know, everyone is on Jacob Rodriguez's tip.
And deservedly so.
He's an unbelievable player.
Carson Sharar, a linebacker from Iowa.
Good day.
Yeah, had an unbelievable day.
No one wants to talk about him because he's a white guy from a small town in Iowa.
I get it.
I get it.
We got Jack Cooper.
We know.
No, no, no, no, no, exactly.
That's why I figured maybe they'd be talking about it a little more.
But this year's a little bit, you know, as a Packers fan, it's kind of weird because
there isn't that the Packers don't have a first round pick.
So I don't want to say I'm less.
Yeah, exactly.
I don't want to say I'm less invested because any time you, you, I think of that, it's just like,
well, we got Michael Parsons.
So do I need, you know, this guy who may be in four years,
they're not going to, you know, pick up a fifth year option on him anyway.
Not necessarily.
But I think, you know, as a Big Ten guy, I see how many guys from the SEC are invited.
I think there's like maybe 35 to 40 more guys from the SEC got invited than the Big Ten,
which is crazy because the Big Ten, everyone knows, is the King of College.
On that note, what are some notable players for today's combine that we should look forward to tone?
Yeah, when you want to talk about notable players for today and you want to talk about the Big Ten,
they're all from the Big Ten today.
Yeah, it figures.
No, I mean, there's going to be a lot.
There's going to be a lot of SEC guys, a lot of SEC corners today that perform very well.
There's an SEC tight end that's going to perform very well today.
But when you look at the names that you know, you've probably heard in college football and who are going to perform today,
and you're going to be out there and see what they do today.
Obviously, it starts with Caleb Downs.
He's unanimous, All-American two times.
We talked to guys at Bama three years ago when he was a freshman and said this guy is Hall of Fame as soon as he gets off of the bus.
He's been unbelievable.
He measured this morning somewhere around 5-11 and a half, six foot, which is really, really good for him.
I believe he's going to work out like all the other,
Ohio State guys, and he's going to be a top 10 pick, so he's someone to watch today.
The freak, the freak maybe of the combine after Sunny Styles, of course.
Tight-end Kenyon, Sadieke, he's been known as a freak for years and years and years.
Well, because his name also.
Yes, also.
You see Sadie.
Perfect.
You can see it in these.
He's a freak.
Built like an absolute tank at Titan.
He's 6-3-250.
He verticals 4-2.
I don't know if he's going to run or not, but if he's going to be really fast, he's a projected
first round.
And then a guy from Indiana who, who has a guy.
went to Purdue was a all big tent of Purdue, Dylan Deeneman, who went to Oregon, two-time All-American.
He's a projected first-round pick.
I know a lot of draft guys think that he's going to run really well today and play really.
You saw him fill the alley.
He will come up and hit.
He will cover.
He's to do it all safety.
Who are some potential show Steelers?
Just like, hey, you called to something yesterday.
Thank you for doing that.
You made me feel smarter.
Yeah, Kyle Luce did really well yesterday.
The linebacker, Kyle Golda, the Cincinnati linebacker did really well yesterday.
The titan that I mentioned from the SEC, first team all is SEC.
he was an all-American. Eli Stowers, he was a freak in Texas, a track guy, jumping guy.
He's supposed to run and jump really well today.
And then the safety, I'm sorry, Emmanuel McNail Warren out of Toledo.
He just measured this morning at 6-3.
DJ, Daniel Jeremiah, has said he could be potentially the Nick Eamon warrior of this class.
I don't know if he's going to run.
He was at Toledo. He's a safety and he just basically smothered everything.
He jumped off the, he will cover, he will come up and hit.
He looked like he was playing high school football.
Yes, bingo.
And that's what you want to see from these guys against lower talent.
And then DeMani Jackson, he's tied the 100-yard record in high school in the 100.
He's a corner out of Bama.
He was in California in high school, and he tied the record for 100.
He's going to run today.
He's supposed to run really well.
All right, well, we'll keep an eye on for all these guys.
Great hits yesterday.
Now, you missed one of your play of the day.
I got Sonny Stiles.
What's that?
I got Sonny Stiles.
Yeah, and you said could get Sunny Stiles.
And he did.
43.5.
Five, right? Yeah, quarter of an inch.
And it was his second jump, right, because the things were already out of the way.
But you also hit one, right? We also hit one.
Yeah, we already got the bench. We already got the over 35 and a half or whatever on the bench.
So you're currently one and one. We got two more coming, and hopefully you'll hit those.
If you're able to bet on those, we hope you will be able to profit.
If you're betting on the combine, you should think about maybe looking in the mirror, but also it does make it.
It makes it a lot more exciting. Speaking of exciting, if you turn on the combine over the next 30 hours, okay?
Yeah, at least.
I don't know how many.
It seems like it's forever.
A man who will be giving color commentary is a color commentator for the Los Angeles Chargers.
He's a podcast host and Move the Sticks.
And he's a man who's watched film on every player that has to come through the combine
because he has to sound like he knows who they are whenever he is talking about the biggest job interview on Earth for them on NFL Network.
Ladies and gentlemen, a friend of the program, Dan, Dan, Jeremiah.
Yeah, baby, DJ!
I think DJ!
Good fan.
DJ.
DJ.
DJ.
Oh, okay.
Go this way.
This is the right.
This is a smart.
That's a professional.
The guy who's got a clue.
He's a pro.
That's a guy who's got a clue.
Yeah, that's yours.
If you want to.
Okay, you know what you're doing.
That was a good play.
Yeah.
That was the right play.
Some people don't know if they're supposed to come to me because I think the natural
reaction is this guy saying a lot of good things about me.
Just introduce me.
I'm going to go talk to him, but the seats right next to me.
So if you come my way, then you're going to have to come back.
Then people go from me.
and they go, oh, I've got to go say the boys.
They go this way, and then it's the worst outcome.
Because then they're going, they're there, then here.
What you did there with a little bit of a brisk pace.
Bang, boom.
Respectful of your time.
I mean, that's...
Yeah, but that was...
I think the scouts would say efficient.
Yeah, AJ Hawking in 2006.
Yeah, 99.
Reminds me a lot of that.
Did you see that graphic?
What did this thing mean?
Because we just, I don't know, I was pretty boozed up when I saw it,
and everybody else saw it the same way.
He's the greatest athlete in the history of the...
It's a phenomenal.
I bet his numbing.
There is.
What is this?
What is this mean?
So this is the production score.
So I believe that takes into account, you know, numbers on the field in terms of the stats.
And I think that also incorporates the athleticism.
This guy was a bad dude, man.
Yeah, still is, by the way.
He just can't walk because he has no cartilage in his knees because of the 99.
His boy, Hendrix.
How old is he?
13.
Size 11 shoe.
He could beat his dad's ass right now because of the cartilage.
But I tried to.
He knows that.
Do you do that, by the way, with your kids?
in sports where you asked the parents what size
shoot as a kid wear? I never do.
I always, I try to jam their, I try to make their feet
smaller actually because I think that's the worst thing.
Hey, you see my boy, sixth grade.
Where's the size 19 shoe? I can remember being
a little like, and the parents are like, Johnny's going
to play Major League Baseball and he's going to be
a little bit. I'm like, look at his feet. No, he's not.
Enjoy this period of life.
Everybody else is going to blow right past this guy.
Yeah, that's like dogs, you know, with their paws. Yeah.
That's how you kind of see with the poppies. Like, oh, those things
are horse. Okay, so we're still got
a lot of grown to do. I think his kid's going to be
gigantic, from my understanding.
And he doesn't do any dancing. He just plays ball.
That's right. He is a hawk, which we respect and appreciate.
But there was a nice reminder to him about who his dad was from all of us because of that 99 score.
We don't know who put that together.
We would like that to run every single year, please, so we can all be reminded whenever we are burying this guy that we are dealing with an absolute monster.
Speaking of monsters, yesterday, obviously the linebackers put on a show.
I didn't know if because the cyclicality of football, if we were going to get a little slower, right,
because it's becoming a little bit more ground and pound.
Instead, what happened is we got bigger for sure
so we can fill gaps and we can go ahead
and take on 12 personnel and 13 personnel.
But they're somehow faster as well.
Was this expected coming in that yesterday was going to happen
the way that it happened, DJ?
Yeah, I was told that all three of those top guys
in terms of the two Ohio staters
with Reese and then with Bailey,
all those guys were capable going in the 4-4s.
I think Bailey ended up 4-5 flat.
Who's right there, which was crazy numbers.
So it was expected these guys were all going to test
like freaks. And when you watch them on
it shows up.
Like there's,
there's sometimes
where you see guys,
they're just testers.
They're not football players
and they,
you know,
they're set for this.
These guys,
like,
you can watch styles
in this building
when you guys were here
in that Big Ten championship game.
He was the best player on the field.
He was sideline to sideline
making all kinds of plays.
Well,
you know,
I know how you,
we'll get to that.
You media people
talking about Fernanda
Fernandez.
He's my first overall player.
He wanted to do that.
Yeah,
it better be.
Dan Orlovsky
actually starting to dance around
with the bullshit.
So help me with this.
Okay.
He knew I was coming on.
So he just texted me.
Of course he did.
The nicest text, you know, I love you.
You're doing great.
I'm so proud of you.
And I think it's because he does want me to get after him for the Mendoza.
I face time.
Hey, I face it.
Get after him.
He deserves it.
The combine's awesome.
If you're a football person and an NFL person and we get the access that we are currently getting.
Like, it is incredible.
Because we're just walking around here after the show and it's like, you're shaking hands.
Oh, general manager of the owner of this team.
Oh, my God, good to see you.
And we're learning that these people watch our show.
Yeah.
And I'm learning that.
Everybody does.
See, we don't know that though because we are in Indianapolis in a Thunderdown with no crowd.
And then we go home and then we come back and then it's just kind of like we're kind of talking to ourselves sometimes.
So they're going to get here and it's like the people that are making a lot of decisions are like, hey, we watch or whatever.
I'm thinking to myself, well, yeah, this guy would never go out of his way to like tell us that he's watching.
So this is cool that this is happening.
Thank you so much.
Don't watch our show.
You've got to keep the league good, you know, that whole given take.
By the time I finally get out of this place back to where the office is basically set.
up downtown. I turn
TV's on. Yeah. And it's
Ty Simpson's better than Fernando Mendoza.
And I see Domorloffsky
like this, okay? And I facetamed him immediately.
He was on a date with his wife, who we love
Taffa, big fans of. And I just
relentlessly started telling him that I'm sick of his
shit. As you show. Like he is clearly right now
doing this all to just
draw up shit, you know? And like
he said, well, I only watched first eight games.
I was like, well, then don't talk. Like, if you only
watch this amount of games, don't. You didn't
watch the biggest games of Fernando Mendoza's
career to see how he performed. Did you watch just Red Zone, third down, and fourth down, the biggest
moments, the money downs, and see how he did? I just watched first eight games. When I watched
the rest of the games, I'll have a different take. I clearly said that in a thing. I'm like, well, I want
to let you know. I saw a lower third that you said. And then Mel Kiper, you know, got a lot of
people. Yes. Yes. Oh, yeah, it's very important. It's very important. And then Mel Kuiper Jr.,
whenever we were at the college football playoff, I'm literally projecting Fernando Mendoza is generational.
They put up a lower third.
Mel Kuiper Jr.'s top five, and it's Dante Moore is the number one overall quarterback.
I'm like, what?
These people not see them?
What do you think?
Because I told Danny he doesn't know ball.
I said, Dan, I just read an article.
You watch seven to nine NFL games every single Monday morning before you go live.
You're not watching any Indiana games.
That's what I'm learning throughout this.
Do you think people just don't know them?
You think like people are learning about them through this process?
Like, how do you think people view them now versus maybe like a month from now after they kind of see more from him?
How do you think that kind of narrative starts or builds?
Well, I think with Fernando, it was just like a steady ramp up,
and it was as the competition got better, you saw more form.
I use the analogy of more.
Illinois, he had one good throw.
Furlovsky told me at dinner drinking a red wine with stupid jacking up.
The way I look at is when we were all learning how to drive,
and it's like they don't just throw you on the freeway.
Like Indiana didn't have to put him on the freeway for the first part of the season.
It was like, we're just going to drive around the parking lot at school,
and we'll go out in the neighborhoods,
and it was like, okay, here come the big dogs on the schedule.
We got to open this thing up, make big throws,
and he did that throughout the whole entire process.
And with him also, I know a lot of college quarterbacks now
because it's so RPO-based, we were talking about this
in the restaurant the other day.
But to me, if you can pull out all the third and seven-plus throws
where RPO's are non-existent because they know you're throwing the ball,
everybody in the stadium knows you're throwing the ball.
Red zone where the space is really condensed.
Number one in the league.
Late game moments and then big games.
I'm like, check, check, check, check.
He went through all those things.
So look, Dan, I think Dan.
And he's big.
He's big.
So I think once Dan,
gets to the end of the process. I mean, he needs to go through his process, but I think once he
gets to those games... Before he starts talking, don't you think he should go through his process
before? That was my big takeaway. He knew what he was doing. Like, Dan, yeah, it was, the caveat
was the caveat was first eight games. I clearly said that. I'm like, Dan, you know what you're doing.
He played another eight games. Yeah, and I don't like it. Yeah. He had an NFL season,
yeah. He had the entire thing. But Dan's like, that is my process. To your point.
It'll be a great discussion once he gets through the whole process, and I think he'll come up on him as he
does that. Okay, so do you, last question about Fernando before the boys have questions about
everything else going on. I assume there's going to be more freaks today. I can't wait to hear
about that entire thing. Tone gave us a couple names that we need to look for, including out of Toledo,
which is crazy to think about at this stage of it all. Fernando, do you have comps? Like, what are
your comps for Fernando Mendoza? Because for me, it's hard to really pin anything because he has this
nerdiness about him where he could have got into Yale and all this stuff. So you kind of think, like,
does he have photographic memory as well? Because it feels like he is incredibly intelligent. So
like, does he have some Andrew Luckin, the nerd mindset of him?
Has beers with the boys, though.
So is he one of the nerds that hangs out with the boys?
I think there's a list of a couple of quarterbacks that have done that in the past.
And then he has the intangibles.
He can run.
He's six, five, and he won a national championship for the Indiana Hoosier.
So it's like, what is there a comp for you?
And how do you kind of describe or project what he's going to be in the NFL?
Yeah, there's not a perfect comp.
Some guys, there's like a name that pops right into your head.
But in terms of like the size, a little bit bigger version,
Matt Ryan was like, you get the name Maddie Ice because of what you do late in games and how competitive and tough he was.
So I see that aspect of it.
I was around Philip Rivers calling the Charger Games.
Philip has got so much juice and energy when you're around him.
Like he's like hyper, but like in a good way loves ball and it's incredibly smart, can talk it inside and out.
So I see some elements of that.
And Phillips obviously is a big man.
And Philip doesn't swear.
It feels like Fernando had like a similar thing, but still talk shit.
So like does this thing.
Yeah.
And then kind of the, that got a little hot in here.
And then the quirkiness, luck has, you know, some of that quirkiness, which is endearing to me,
especially when you're winning games.
When, with all this stuff, people have asked, like, personality-wise, how is he going to be in a locker?
This is your answer.
Beers with the boys.
Yeah.
Well, my answer is-
That's changed for me.
He has beers with the boys.
Like, he is out with the O-line, sinking, having beers.
Yeah.
Like, I think that is, for me, and you do this a lot more than I do.
I just look at things, hear things, and then form an opinion on things.
am I 100% right?
Absolutely not.
I'm sure I've been 100% wrong on a lot of things.
But like whenever it comes to team and locker room and chemistry,
I feel like I have a pretty good read and feel on that type of thing.
The fact, when I learned that he gets beers with the boys,
that answered every single other question about like,
can this nerd fit in in a locker room?
Because you talk about endearing.
Him being a nerd, the boys will be like if he's good.
If he has success, he'll do that.
But then if he shows up at a D-line dinner
and has some drinks with him or whatever.
It's like he's already proven that he would do that.
It's like, I love the guy.
He's a late bloomer.
Obviously, I think he's only gotten better as he's gone.
But he talked about his leadership only getting better as he went on too.
I think he's generational.
And I got people on the internet because Dan Rolovsky's at the world
who did not watch this guy play football saying,
what are we, Indiana's quarterback?
I don't know.
It's like, I think he's generation.
And they're like, you use the term generational very loosely.
I got attacked for the type of human I am for saying generational.
It's like, I think this bucking guy is going to be a top three quarterback in the NFL.
That is what I think.
Now, a lot of things have to happen around him, which Brock Bowers, Ashton Genty, Tom Brady,
potentially in on conversations a little bit more, allegedly from sources that I'm hearing.
I think they have a chance to be good over there with him.
I think he has a chance to do very good things with the Raiders.
I do, too.
To me, though, with the building philosophy of the Raiders with free agency and with the draft,
like you go under the draft room and you've got the draft board up.
And on the first, you know, the left side is all the offensive players.
Right side you might have all the defensive players.
Like I think I would go in there and just all the magnets,
and I probably don't use magnets anymore dating myself.
I take all those defensive magnets and just swipe them off the board.
Just taking offensive players.
We're going to get go pay Tyler Linderbom, whatever the heck he wants in free agency.
We get Colt Miller coming back.
The left tackles the hardest piece and they actually have that piece.
Then we're going to go out and we're going to draft somebody on day two
that's going to plug and play.
Like you can flip this offensive line.
The Patriots, I know it didn't end the way they wanted.
They got to the Super Bowl with four-fiths of a new offensive line.
The Bears rebuilt the entire interior of that offensive line and made life easier.
So it can happen a lot faster than you think.
Now, if the Raiders next year, they go, you know, 5 and 12,
but Mendoza is getting better and better, and they've got the offensive place.
You'd be feeling really good for a 5 and 12 team.
That'd be Drake May, New England, basically, year one, even though we got a whole new coach.
Here, the entire rookie year, Drake was like, oh, yeah.
I mean, we're not winning games right now, but Drake is doing things that we're liking.
Absolutely.
It's just, like, kind of shuck down there in New Orleans the last four weeks.
they kind of go on a little bit of run. Jackson, Darden, I think had some moments where people are like,
okay, he's having it. I think that is good expectation, even though everybody's going to want them to win
right now. AJ has a question about anything, DJ. Yeah, DJ, today, DB's tight ends will be on the field,
I guess. Is there any diamonds in the rough that you think are going to jump off the, you know,
jump off the screen that people may not know a whole lot about? Well, two safeties that I love that I have
is like top 25 players in the draft. McNeill Warren from Toledo, which is somehow turned into this
DB factory where they're putting out DBs. And he was, he played last year like 212, 214.
He came in here at 201, which tells me he's cutting to run.
And he's six, three and a half.
He's long.
He is a great player.
I think he's my 15th overall player.
He should test well.
Thinaman from Oregon, and you guys have seen.
And you go back and watch his Purdue stuff.
He's playing in the middle of the field.
Six picks as a freshman all over the place.
Oregon drops him down.
He can play in the nickel.
Like he's going to test really well as well.
So last year, I think the league screwed up when you have Eamon Worry.
I thought it was a top 15 player in the draft in the,
then he got pushed down.
I don't think they let that happen again.
I think we're going to see three safeties going the first round.
Seattle was pumped that day.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, he was outrageous.
What he broke his ankle Super Bowl week?
Yeah.
And then he goes and just absolutely dominates.
They're a special group over there.
Go ahead, Con, man.
Yeah, DJ.
Brett Veach mentioned earlier in the week just about the types of players that are in the
combine now and just kind of the players that are coming out of college.
There's just more guys staying.
Yeah.
Have you noticed that in your research that it's just become amongst,
older kind of veteran crop of players going into the draft.
And how many kind of first round players are there?
Because I remember last year the conversation being like, hey, there's probably 15 first
round guys, but it's a deep draft.
Is it different this year as opposed to last year?
I think that's pretty similar in terms of just a number of those guys.
And then it is another good group from that, you know, 16, 17 to 55.
Like that's a sweet spot of this draft.
But we have more 24 and 25-year-olds than we've ever seen.
Do you like that or hate that?
I like it.
I think it's just proof of concept.
Like, I've seen more of them.
It makes the evaluation a little bit easier when you've seen them do it longer.
And, you know, look, everybody, like, what about the second contract?
I'm like, dude, four or five years, minds will be in eternity from now.
Yeah.
Like, remember Peyton Wilson?
Might be dead.
Peyton Wilson, a linebacker from NC State.
He was older, had some injuries.
Like, I don't know how long he's going to play.
I'm like, well, I don't see Pittsburgh too disappointed with what they're getting out of that guy.
Craig Woodson last year was a little bit older.
Plug and play, ready to go.
There's no, we're not sitting here waiting for two years for this guy to be on the field.
like he's up and running.
Yeah, and if you play eight years, I think that would be.
Yeah.
That's a hell of a career.
And I'm saying that strictly because I played eight years and it felt like an eternity.
What was Butsy, eight, nine?
Nine, I think.
Yeah, it's like, that's a great career.
So if 25 to 33, 34 is all you have, whatever you go, 25 to 36.
Yeah.
Like, that's 10 years isn't good enough, especially with modern science, which is great.
By the way, I would recommend it.
Not to these athletes because they are testing stuff.
But after they retire, they should certainly get into the real modern science.
You should think about it, too.
You look good, by the way.
Oh, you guys are nice.
Have you been at Zem picking?
Is that a Zem pick?
No, no, no, yeah.
It did make, I do have muscle disappearing, but it's not because of anything I take it.
Lack of effort, mostly.
Ty has a question for you, DJ.
Kind of going off Connor's point, you mentioned on your podcast how you haven't heard anyone
basically saying, hey, we really want to move up for this guy.
As we get closer to the draft, you think there is a higher percentage chance that a lot of
teams are going to be looking to kind of trade down just because there might not be,
or there might only be like a handful of those
surefire, hey, we know this guy
is a top 10 pick or whatever?
Yeah, I mean, it's, you know, usually the targets,
trade targets that you look at.
Quarterbacks, I don't really see that happening
in this draft, so you don't really have that movement.
And then you also look at edge rushers,
which we have abundance of them.
So it's like, well, I like this guy more,
but man, this guy's not a bad fallback plan
and I keep my picks.
So then you're not going to move up there.
And then it's a big drop off at a position of need.
So the only thing I could maybe keep an eye on here
is if the tackles, if you start to see some separation
and there's a gap between whether it's the second tackle
and the third tackle,
and you're a team in free agency
that doesn't accomplish what you need,
that's the scenario I could see
maybe that you see a little bit of movement.
How did you feel up there getting back in the saddle yesterday?
It's fun, man.
I get the, it's the best view.
You sit up there and watch everything, so.
Do you smoke in there?
Smoke weed?
No, no.
I thought I saw that.
What?
The governor.
The governor got a pass yesterday.
I asked them about it.
So if you wanted to smoke of them.
You live in California, so you're a lot.
I'm probably more likely to drink a kombucha and try and keep my stomach.
It's nice and steady up there.
Okay, so speaking of stomach and drinking stuff, last night's my first ever combine night.
Yeah.
Ever.
Like, first time.
Really?
Ever.
He did it.
First time I ever did a combine was last night, like, actually did it.
What time did you shut it down?
I don't want to even say the number.
It's four.
Late.
Oh, my goodness.
So did you get a gold medal for that?
Well, actually, the boys would be.
Proud.
Pretty proud of the way I performed last night, I think,
because I'm an old man now at this point.
And thank you for noticing you didn't say a thing.
It looks really big.
I've never been that close to a gold medal.
It's very heavy.
It looks very heavy.
It's kind of inconvenient, actually,
but I will say,
we fucking did it,
yeah.
It's pretty cool, man.
Shout out to Jackie.
Is this guy's a beauty?
Is he?
Yeah, he's right there.
He might be on camera.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, there he is.
Oh, Shifty's got us here.
Oh, Shifty.
Shefty got him.
Yeah, Chefty, he's like, got any nose, got any nose, got any nose?
Heard you got news.
And he knows, any knows?
How about what they're doing to the guys up in Canada?
It seems like they don't like you.
Oh, look at these boys.
Marks, a bunch of Mark, as that should be.
American Hero.
Hey, Jack, that's what you do, Jackie.
That's what you do.
Can I wait to talk to him, DJ.
It's awesome talking to you as well.
Tone has a question for you, brother.
Yeah, I do.
Okay.
There's really another question I thought I was getting ready to get my butt kicked right out of here.
We're giving him the whole hour next hour, actually.
So there's always the upside-verse production coming out of a college thing that we always talk
about and then you do what Jacob Rodriguez does yesterday. He has all the production and then
he kind of put a stamp on it with all the athletic scores yesterday. Is there a reason?
I can't remember if he's in your top 50 or not, but is there, like after he checks all
those boxes yesterday with all the athletic scores, is there a chance that he potentially gets into
the first? Well, he was not in my top 50. He was just on the edge. He will be in my top 50 going
forward. I mean, there was. His three cone was off the chart. That's three cone and the best short
shuttle. That's all I care about is change in direction, right? That's huge.
see that and then like if you're into like 13 forced fumbles in your career and yeah four picks this
year so yeah that was the only thing was like okay you know athletically well godly like he was he was
he was solid the senior bowl good solid week made some plays and then this it's like any more
questions no like they're do you hit the town by the by the way i got a great text do you hit the town
yeah do you no i don't i don't drink i don't smoke i've had a sip that's amazing yeah i've had
one sip of alcohol my entire life what was it after my last two
a day.
After my last two
a day at App State and my lineman
they said we're going out, this is our last two
day we're all seniors and I took this
much of a sip and I said this tastes
like cat urine and then I was like I was
that's a part of the. I don't know who sponsors.
I don't know what kind
of alcohol. It was just beer?
Huh? Beer or it was a Miller light.
Oh okay. Oh, a latte.
Cat piss, huh? It's an acquired taste.
And I if there, I have nothing. I just probably
I know. You would say you've had more cat piss
than you've had alcohol.
Fear then, yeah.
Fair, fair.
Wait, what was the text you got on Jacob Rodriguez?
Oh, the text on Rodriguez was, here it is.
You know, 15 teams are now targeting Jacob Rodriguez in the second round,
only for the lions to take him at 17.
It's like the most, like, just like football player.
I was taken.
I literally, I was about to say, talking about you going out last night
is strictly because, like we talked about, I did,
three different teams that I did not tell or lead into conversation were like,
Jacob Rodriguez is a guy that was great in our
You know and they mentioned him doing the throw at game day
He's the only guy that hit the crossbar in game day
Like we had quarterbacks do it
We had coaches do it we've had everybody kind of do it
He steps up and hits it
Quarterback coming in a college
Yes so and then he's a turnover machine
I heard you say
$250,000 for children of fallen
Patriots
He did right there obviously his wife
Army Black Hawk helicopter pilot
I mean, he is, he's everything you're looking for.
And I liked your line about him running a 40 where he might punch a ball out while
he was out of 40.
It was a good bar out of you, Daniel Jeremiah.
We appreciate the fact that we're going to be spending the weekend with you and Rich up there.
You guys continue to crush it.
We appreciate the hell out of you.
Thank you.
I appreciate you guys, man.
Oh, by the way, happy rap sheet anniversary.
One year ago today we sat here and talked about his fight.
He got the dust up.
We wanted to have a face stare down right here.
Can you make that happen?
Shultz he's been roaming around the city looking for him, I guess.
Rap, she's just been going to go in his name, I heard.
You know what?
I'm going to be, I did not see Shultzzi.
Rap came in, had two stella's, told 100 stories.
And then he said he was going to go pound pavement and try to hope to run into some people
and hopefully get some leverage information out of them as their loose lips are sinking ships out there.
So we appreciate the effort.
We appreciate the hell of the combine.
And thank you so much for everything that you do for the league.
We genuinely appreciate that.
No, I appreciate all you guys, man.
It's always fun.
If you're not drinking or smoking at all, though, we need a six-pack.
Like, what are we, you know, like if we're not beating the hell out of our body.
Yeah.
We need you next year.
Jacked.
Strat.
Oh, really?
You put on, like, 50 pounds of muscle.
We would be showed up just so jacked.
Why don't you just eat the subway protein power punch power?
That's the jam?
That's the jam?
Oh, yeah.
He actually got more meat per capita in the protein power than the entire football.
Really?
Yeah, something to think about.
Yeah, something to think about.
It's like Rhode Island.
Yeah.
I'm done watching tape on all these guys for the most part now.
How many?
Start next year already?
Probably.
Well, no, you know, I'll do the non-com, I guess.
Probably like 60, 70 more, but those are, I can get through those quick.
You're the man.
Thanks, buddy.
See you guys.
Thank you, Jay.
Headset's still on, yep.
Oh.
It happens.
People are going to think you're boozing.
Good to see you, man.
All right, DJ.
That's an incredible.
That's an incredible thing anytime I mean anybody that's ever done that.
What, during cat piss?
Valid?
That as well.
I mean, I don't know how many others.
But, like, just never tried it, never did.
There's multiple people in my life now at this stage are like, I've never even tried it.
It's like, I never once.
Good for you, first of all.
And you don't have to feel how we feel right now ever in your entire life.
Who said that?
Orlovsky.
Yeah.
Shut up, Dan.
Shut up.
We're done with you.
Hey, Dan, he looks.

Those pants are sweet.
Tate's a hotel.

Uh, pants?
No, I don't know.

I love shoes.
I never seen that.
Allo shoes.
Breaking them out.
I didn't know they had them.
Yep.
Yeah, I mean, either.
I mean, it might be the Shregs.
It's a cool.
Those are Shrek's shoes.
Those are your signature line?
This is my whole look, guys.
Fantastic.
Combine casual.
I got chicken back.
That kid.
Jack, yeah.
Guys, we have a superstar amidst us.
Yeah, not just a superstar.
What a stud.
Yeah, global phenomenon, I would say.
Phenomenon.
Yeah, and his teeth are still the way they are.
And I was like, cool, you're doing that forever?
He's like, I haven't even had time to get to a dentist.
Yeah.
We go, we win, we come back, we party, we White House, we here.
Three games at four nights.
Two games last night on here.
He played last night.
Yeah, against the penguins.
And who won that game, Jack?
Hey, the pens.
On a back to back.
I would expect a lot of the team.
that have any of the boys from the American team,
probably not going to win for a week or so.
Give a little time to get back into the flow.
Yeah, because they are legends in the hockey world.
They can't handle their alcohol.
He's got a little like Salome-Tydomi thing going on.
I like that.
There's like this like boyhood.
I don't like that.
Star and then also badass like it's going to knock you out.
Like there's a lot going on right there.
Comes from a hockey family, you know,
so it's like literally in his blood.
He was drafted number one overall in 2019 as an 18-year-old.
He's in year 7 right now.
And he's 24 years old.
old. I mean, he is, he was the Great American Hope, I believe, whenever he was drafted
the number one overall, and here we are. There's been a lot of this, I think, throughout the
entire run, especially when you're number one, and you're not like six foot four or whatever,
and he's like a little bit undersized guy. And then for him to have that moment,
oh, beautiful thing. They picked the right group. Yeah, I did. The hockey gods picked the right
group to go ahead and do that. I told him, I said, you know, I'm of a certain age where I wasn't
alive for 1980. My son is nine years old. We sat on the couch. There's very few, like, sports
moments. I'll always remember. His goal
will be a story my son and I will talk about for the rest of our lives.
And also, Megan Keller, who will be like
her dangles. A little tip.
Oh, nasty. Let's move. Let's talk.
Sorry. Sorry. No, no.
It's hard not to get jacked up. It's hard.
It's an American hero.
I had the gold medal on while I was just walking around.
Sick. Because he just kind of tossed it.
Wait, when did that leave?
I wanted him and they were getting pictures.
Oh, okay.
It's such a dork.
A peekaboo street.
Like a peekaboo street. I want to let you know, we comment
hated it as if you were the biggest
story. Just know that
the commentary did
match the actions. Okay, let's talk ball.
I don't
know if you've heard yet. I've said this a lot because I think
it is a big deal. We've always chatted about
how Indianapolis and a combine are the
planning of the seeds of free agency. Frenzy, of trades,
of everything, what everybody's going to do in
these gatherings that are taking place. Last
night was my first time ever doing it, like kind of bouncing
around talking to people. What a special place.
I assume you do a lot of that, obviously, with connections,
but everybody is here. How many things
are actually getting done, or is this just all seed planting?
Seeds, and sometimes you get a trade.
Like, the other night, we had a trade between the Jets and the Titans.
And it happened here.
Like, it happened here.
It's where, okay.
Or Gansy left our set.
They went and went and made a tray with the New York Jets.
But it's because it's the only time in the NFL calendar
where everybody is in the same exact place.
Except for your friends, McVeigh and Liam Cohn.
Those guys don't show up.
They're good.
Hey, we need you guys back out here.
I was just talking to.
Sean, he's asking me.
So what did you get into last time?
I'm like, you don't get that.
You don't get the, no, no, you don't do that.
We need you back out here, but you don't get to do all that.
He's got FOMO.
That's it.
But also it's this informal deal where the agents are all here also, which is a different deal with it,
where, of course, we're all excited to see the coaches and the general managers and do the media stuff.
But the calendar for these agents, like I just saw Tommy DeVito's agent, Sean Stalado.
Oh, nice.
He wanted to go to his hat on.
He told me he had 24 meetings with teams in one day.
Yeah, he did.
That's low for him, actually.
Normally you'd see it at a 30-40.
That's it.
A 42 meeting teams.
But if you take that, he's one agent with four clients.
They take about all the different agents here.
And they've got a, they've got to put, now, they can't make deals.
But what they will do is they will say, what's the marketplace?
What are we looking at for our clients?
And this is the only time all calendar year they get in-person interaction.
So, yes, there's that.
And then there's just hanging out and fun and drinking and enjoying the fact that everyone's away from home.
Everyone's in the same place.
And it's an annual tradition to get together and let loose a little bit.
It was awesome.
I should have been doing this.
how long
we're doing this?
I should have been doing this.
Got to pace yourself, though.
It kind of feels like I've kind of been doing this.
It's in our city.
I feel like I've been messing this up
and missed a lot of opportunities.
It was cool last night just to see everybody,
you know, because we obviously follow along the season
but getting a chance to chat with them
and then we would have said something in the show
and they'll mention it.
Like you remember when you said whatever
and I'm like, ah, I feel terrible about it
and everybody's like, nah, you, that was,
you have to say what you have to say.
It was like really cool to kind of do all that.
What about Max Crosby, AJ Brown? Any news you hear when you were pounding the streets last night?
Yeah, the tone of Howie is what you said the other day. Well, it's funny because at the at the
trade deadline, Howard Roseman told everyone no, like we're not trading AJ Brown and then when he
We can't trust anything that anyone says though, right? Well, that is a good point also. And then
you go to this media availability and what he said was of course like, you know, I'll always
listen. And I said, AJ Brown's Twitter handle is always open. Howie Roseman always listening.
He's always listening. But I would also add this. He is not on.
the block by any means. They are not
proactively trading A.J. Brown.
They are not shopping A.J. Brown, but he
will always have his phone line open. The issue
is, for the Eagles, if they trade
them before June 1st,
it costs them $40 million in
dead cap money. If they trade them after June
1st, it gets a lot less financially
prohibitive. So that kind of
makes this little window here, and he got traded
draft day a couple years back from the Titans to the Eagles.
It makes it a bit more of a hurdle.
They interviewed 17 different offensive
of coordinators, and they hired a 32-year-old who has never called to play.
And I am told that Sean Mannion walked in there and had an entire presentation that won
the day.
And it basically was, here are cut-ups of how my offense would work with your personnel.
And A.J. Brown was strictly a part of that.
Yeah, they got a lot of weapons over there.
Everybody's got to eat.
And they paid everybody as if they're supposed to eat.
And then all of a sudden, you have success running the ball.
You got two ones at wide receiver.
And then you can see how people get a little bit antsy.
The New England Patriots fans aren't going to love what you just said right there because they thought maybe Vrable and A.J. Brown were going to be backed.
So we'll just say if somebody gives up the farm, Howie always open for the conversation.
Always pick up the phone.
Got it.
But instead, there is a mindset that we're going to be able to get A.J. Brown used the way he should be and he'll be happy to be an eagle.
That's the hope.
Okay, sick. Go ahead, Connor.
Yeah, Shreg.
It does kind of bum New England out for sure, but also knowing Mike Vrable and Drake Mare there does really matter.
I want to ask you about a guy that I don't think anybody knows really.
much about and that's the Arizona Cardinals in the floor.
We saw him walking around the other day.
He's got really cool hair.
I don't know if he's got his brother's eyebrows just yet.
But what do you think about the Cardinals?
What should our expectations be for them going forward?
Who's even playing quarterback?
Like, should we just assume this is a punt-it year?
Like, truly, are they trading Kyler?
Like, what should the expectations be on the outside looking in for the Cardinals?
Yeah, look, so they come in there and Kyler was not drafted by Monty
Austin Fort and Kyler.
This would be his third head coach.
and it seems like this might be a financial situation as well
where it takes them in a lot different financial situation
if the first three days they get rid of him in the NFL New Year.
So that's like March 11th, 12, 13th, they saved themselves a lot of money
and everyone starts anew.
That said, I did have dinner with Michael Flore last night with his cool haircut.
New spot, new spot.
Deans? Do you know, deans?
I heard it's in a hotel, right?
It's in the JW and I had never been.
Oh, yeah, used to be shoes.
No, that was the Weston.
It's like, sorry.
It was the Italian place before.
Yes, yes.
See, this is the problem, though.
This is what we're talking about.
We never do this.
I would never know.
And stop telling people about Cafe Patachoo.
And it's not Chow, it's Patachoo, brother.
Shut up.
Have I been?
Is this a brunch place?
Because there's like four of them, right?
Yeah, there's a lady that owns that.
And also like four other restaurants.
This lady has a monopoly on great food.
How good is it?
Unbelievable.
Patatoo is very good.
So Patachue, I said on us,
social media clip that that's where everyone, that's the real spot.
And I'm not trying to promote it, but then I literally, Peter King, Howie Roseman, Kevin Demo, like the list of people.
Peter King?
Wow.
Saying, what are you doing?
How do you do that?
Did he write you a letter?
Typewriter.
No, no.
That's crazy.
But it's like, that's, that's a secret we don't want out there.
I'm sorry.
I don't know if he's here.
So he could probably just move on.
Taya's the last question for you here, Shrig.
What about Malik Willis?
Everything we've heard is like all of a sudden, he's kind of the bell of the ball of the ball when
comes to free agent quarterbacks.
And, you know, I guess everyone's giving Aaron Glenn shit for falling asleep yesterday.
But maybe it's because he already knows that he's going to go get a guy like Malik Willis.
So quarterback doesn't matter.
Like, where is he going to end up?
And is he right now the most sought after free agent quarterback?
The perfect storm for a player is what Malik Willis has right now.
And that there is a supply and demand issue in the NFL.
And he is the premier free agent quarterback to be where you can just sign him.
Straight up, no trade.
You can just make the best offer and he can entertain it.
He also has two different teams with really strong connections.
The Miami Dolphins, the GM from the Packers, and the defensive coordinator from the Packers is new the head coach.
And then in Arizona, Mike LaFleur is the head coach.
Where did Willie Willis just re-vigorate his career with Matt LaFloor in Green Bay?
So there are two teams that might be quarterback hungry.
And you have a draft pick situation where Mendoza is the number one pick.
And it's not exactly a two-horse race there where there's anyone else in the Mendoza conversation.
Oh, really?
Or Lobster?
I'm not doing it.
We're not getting into this.
We only have like a minute left.
And you know TV.
No, don't be sorry.
We are sorry.
I'm going on talking about Dean's seek food and steaks.
I apologize.
I should be talking football.
It's by bad.
No, no, no.
Wrong show.
We should be talking about Dean's because we just learned this place
existed.
Never know.
Me neither.
Shout out to that.
No, I would have enough time.
Dimes?
Dimes is just going to go down the Colts?
I think so.
Yeah, because you said,
how much?
By far the number one free agent.
It's like.
I don't know.
And they don't have a first round pick.
so it's not like they're going to be this year
this year, next year.
Vikings?
Aaron?
Vikings?
Don't think so.
What's Aaron Rogers doing?
I don't know.
I don't know.
Vikings, real quick.
Two names.
Kyler, Gino Smith, if he is available.
Oh, because Gino.
That's right.
The layers out of the water.
I was told.
That's Shreger.
We're back for hour two with Jack Hughes.
From 30 for 30 podcast.
Brian Patta,
senior defensive lineman from Miami.
Gun down.
The key to this case, it's Brian.
Boy, he's a hour before he died.
He was on the phone.
This might be a hit.
You want the truth.
Biggest one of conviction being placed in arrest.
We had a killer amongst us.
Murder at the U.
Listen now.
Obviously what we should talk about.
Okay?
We don't have the knowledge on anything else that we have on football.
So we talk about football more than maybe.
anything else and maybe more anybody else other than full NFL shows sure when
you're at the combine you can't help but get excited about the future of the NFL
in the future of football looks like it's gonna be bigger stronger faster it's
ever been up into the right seemingly continue oh yeah the salary cap next year
up 20 some million it's up over 300 million everything in football very very
healthy but if it's sports and it's happening it's United States of America
we are certainly going to celebrate the hell out of it we think sports are the
greatest thing we think sports are unifying we think sports are beautiful we
We think sports exemplify everything that's good out there when it comes to humans.
We talk about grit, we talk about buying, we talk about discipline, talking about working
when you're tired.
You're talking about working your ass off and losing and understanding that, oh, just because
I worked hard and I lost doesn't mean I should stop.
I got to get back on that horse and go again.
Sports are the greatest thing on earth.
And whenever an entire country can buy, well, I don't know what the percentage is.
Not always.
I don't know what the percentage is.
More than half.
Okay, the people I know, 100% of the country can buy in.
rally around a team and a team can do something magical that the entire country and the
sports world will talk about for the rest of time. It's a beautiful thing. So in this hour,
we'll be talking to a guy who's going to go down in the annals of sports celebration in Jack Hughes
here in a matter of moments. And I'll tell you, the shirt's awesome. The gold medal is filthy.
There's some silky mitts all around. And I think he's a beauty. I do believe they picked the right
one. From the Hughes hockey family, his brother, obviously,
on the team Quinn and then his other brother Luke I believe is also potentially a member of the
team but he's younger so he'll be on there so there'll be two kichucks three hueses couple of
nelson's and then goddamn halibuck going on to take on the rest of the world going forward
and that's right where we want to be we're so incredibly lucky that we get to talk about sports we're
so incredibly thankful that we're a part of the sports world and it's obviously not just me the
to talk the table's here at boston connor and at taj smick great to see you we miss you we love you buddy
One half of the hammer died Cowboys AP Tonus here.
Do you have any bets of the day or all those gone?
And how have your bets of the day gone?
Those are all gone.
We did four of them.
We did the vertical jump.
I did under 43 and a quarter inches because I thought that was just an absolute absurd number.
It is.
But Sonny Stiles did that number yesterday.
So I lost that one.
And then I did the over 35 and a half reps for bench press.
That already went over with, oh, man, I can't.
I can remember his name.
He's out of Kentucky.
DTaco out of Kentucky.
DeGusto.
Thank you.
Mr. Gusto.
Thank you.
I appreciate that.
He just repped it out, and he fought for those last couple ones.
So I appreciate him getting us a win there.
Yeah, for all of us.
Yes, the ones that have not been settled yet are the broad jump, which I believe is 114 is the over under in that one.
And then the other one is the 40.
The wide outs and debacks have not gone.
Yeah, that is over under 4-265.
I went with the under on that one.
Special athletes trying to chase a special dream.
what this is all about. Let's go to a man
who's a college football national champion, Super Bowl champion
Rotter Cup winner and the most athletic human
to ever be a part of the combine.
AJ Hawk. Hawke.
Hawke. Your thoughts
on our three days back here. We go from Radio
Row, okay, to Overreaction Monday,
and then boom, right at the combine.
Feels like a nice little back-to-back without
the two weeks in the middle. It's awesome. I mean,
everything about, like the combine, I didn't know what to expect
coming. I actually wasn't here with you boys
last year. And coming here, it's way more
energy, way more juice. And I think
the the just seeing all the GMs and coaches and getting to interact a little bit with them is
great because it's true like like you said earlier pat like we don't I'm actually I'm in an attic in
Ohio so I do the show I go back downstairs drive my kids to practice do whatever I have no clue
what people are watching so the fact that these guys will mention things that happen on the show
I'm like what do you do I didn't realize they even knew we were doing a show so yeah it's really
cool to be here it is fun in Dan Morgan yesterday saying Panthers are go football to go football
football too. It's like them knowing what that means. It's like, oh, and they appreciated that,
I think. Like, I think they genuinely appreciated let's go into bat for him. And then there's some
teams where they're like, hey, you called us out and that was like just a reality of situation.
Thank you for doing it in an entertaining fashion. There you go. Yeah. Hey, you got,
next time we'll try to add even more. Yeah. This entire thing. But it's a special time to be an
NFL fan, Ty, because just like Connor has mentioned a few times this week, last year, this was
his Super Bowl. Yeah. Last year it was like, okay, all eyes are on.
draft season. We're trying to build something special. Little of they know they're going to end up
in the Super Bowl, but it is a special time where everybody has optimism that they could potentially
win the next Lombardi. Yeah, and I think even more so this year after you look at what the Patriots
did. Like the Patriots were that example last year. They won, what, three games? So it's like
we say it every year, how every fan base goes into the season and right around this time. It's like,
oh, wow, you know what we actually could be in the Super Bowl? All you have to do is look at what the
Patriots did last year. Now, granted, part of that is Drake May ascends to being one of the best
quarterbacks in the NFL and you have a guy like
Vrable who you knew was going to turn it around
it was only going to take a matter of time
but like the proof is in the pudding any of these teams
who won three games or four
games last year we have a lot of
new head coaches in the NFL
if you do hit on your first
pick in the drafts or whatever the case may be like
there is a chance you could be playing in the Super Bowl
next year yeah like Craig Woodson
unfortunately
yeah that's tough
so much water
I mean this thing is just
inside the thing there's just water because it was
an ice bat. I appreciate everybody is doing this.
Somebody brought me up a new Gator because they understand
I'm going through it from last night. I was very thankful
for it. But anytime you get something with a wrapping
in it and it's in ice with water, there's
a chance that this thing's going to rear naked choke
the water if I need there. Every single
part had thing. I just squirt it right
on myself. So I apologize for
distracting you. But yes, there is a lot of
optimism going into the season. That's how everybody
feels. That's how every team feels here, by the way.
Super Bowl's over. Like Schneider
obviously is walking around
as he should. Big locking.
as he should because of what he is.
But he knows that's...
Shoots and ladders.
Water just gone on the orbit.
He knows that that's who.
Sean Payton said shoots and ladders.
Does not matter.
Like, literally, that is kind of what today is.
And what this combine is, it's turning a page, con man.
Yeah, and that's something, you know,
Ty mentioned the draft picks like, and DJ brought it up.
Craig Woodson was one of the best players for the Patriots,
and he was one of those guys that fell in the draft because he was older.
You know, he stayed in college at Cal longer.
And then all of a sudden, you know, he is a superstar making huge plays,
one of the kind of bright spots of the Super Bowl for New England.
So that's also kind of something that we should think about with the combine
and just rookies in general.
Like they're going to be way more impact players as rookies
just because they are kind of not veterans,
but they're coming in at 23, 24 years old,
and they play right away in the speed isn't too much.
The complexity isn't too much.
Whereas before when they were younger,
you probably needed a year or two to get used to it.
A lot of snaps.
Yeah.
A lot of snaps for a lot of these players.
Some suing people to try to get more calls.
That's right.
They try to be able to delay going into the NFL.
Here's the draft order that we'll be looking at for the next couple of months.
Raiders with Fernando Mendoza Orlovsky.
Jets, Cardinals, Titans, who, that's old logo, I think.
Shout out to us.
Giants, Browns, commanders, saints.
And then at number nine.
Crazy.
Uh-oh.
Kansas City Cheats.
You know who's mocked there a lot?
Are the Chiefs?
Is that what people are thinking?
I don't know, but I think it that guy.
I know Jeremiah Love is mocked there a lot.
Jeremiah,
loving that offense with Mahomes and all those other boys
would be something to watch.
But it's crazy to see that logo in the top 10.
Mahomes gets back healthy.
They fix their offensive line.
I think they'll be just fine.
It feels like Travis Kelsey's playing again, huh?
Yeah, it does.
Absolutely.
We broke that last year.
Feels like Tyree kills going there too.
Oh, yeah, I'm surprised.
You know, last night I was, you know,
and a state of mind that I hadn't been in a long time.
It was nice catching up with everybody, seeing everybody.
I was firing off some text to people in the league,
calling him lame for not being there.
You loser.
This guy said you didn't want to come because of blah, blah, blah.
I love that.
A lot of people, a lot of former teammates, a lot of former coaches,
both from West Virginia and also in the league.
There's a lot of people and a lot of different staffs now that we're getting older
that we know.
So talking shit, I'm surprised I didn't just fire one off to old Kill a Trave last night.
And I'm thankful I didn't.
Trav, you know.
You almost got a U-Up text with me last night.
Just kind of figure out what the story is if he's coming back, he'll be motivated once again.
Yep.
And if they, I mean, Tyreek Hill, Dr. Chow is saying another surgery doesn't look good for this year,
but what if it's a tail end of this season or whatever?
Because Tyree Kill, we've seen him be very durable and also recover very quickly.
If he's able to get back over there.
And then every got Patrick Mahomes, who's being counted out as a guy that's not even good anymore, basically.
People aren't even mentioning his name in it.
It's like Andy Reed and the boys over there could be very motivated with the chiefs.
and they got a top 10 pick that they can bundle with some other shit and move up if they want to
because just like DJ said, 17 to 34 a lot.
So if you like somebody and you want to move up, there's going to be a lot of dancing partners, I think.
What if the chiefs trade up into the top five?
What if the chiefs make a move?
And all of a sudden we see a dynasty in the middle of it while also having definitely a top 10 pick,
but maybe even higher than that.
There's a chance for all of that, which is why it's so exciting.
Well, that's all like today and tomorrow will be cool because we're going to see tight ends and receivers.
Like they're the ninth pick.
They might get the number one or number two receiver of the entire draft.
And that feels like the position that has been the most successful as far as guys coming in, you know, in the top 10 getting picked and then immediately making an impact.
Like a Cardinal Tate, could you imagine a player like that with Mahomes, you know, Kenyon, Sadiq, a freak like that.
Yeah, Mackay Lemon.
Like if they get the number one weapon of this class and then you talk about Tyree Khill, Jeremiah, you know, Tyree Khill, you know, Tyree Kille,
plays the last 10 games, they get a number one weapon from the draft, or even more so,
if they get a top one, two, three tackle or lineman.
It's like there's just so many options for Kansas City that if you do think that they are
dead in general, you should probably rethink that thoughts completely.
Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now is a man who is going to go down as one of America's
greatest athletes.
Had a moment that sent us all into a frenzy.
He's got a busted chicklet, ladies and gentlemen.
Olympic gold medalist, Jack.
Kiyah!
Yeah!
Come on!
Back pocket.
That is so cool.
Just got a gold medal.
Just back pocket of gold medal.
You are the greatest, dude.
I want to give you stick tops.
Stick tops.
Stick tops.
Stick tops for the boys.
Stick that for the boys.
Yeah, put a gold medal out of your back pocket.
This kid's got a gold medal in his back pocket for the rest of his life.
Oh, man.
Don't, don't mess that up.
You'll pass it down to you in a second, maybe.
Is it all right if I passed the corner?
No, I think you should hang on to that.
a graphic out last night jack you wouldn't know this that said a j hawk was the greatest athlete of all
time i did say that last night yeah yeah so that during your game hey you won that hey yeah
jack we apologize that you're sitting here and we're applauding somebody else thank you hey thank you
hell yeah let's go appreciate it so much i know i've said that like a million times
But since we've come back to the U.S. man, we feel so much love and support.
So it's been unbelievable.
Well, I think your gratitude is why we appreciate it so much.
Like your speech, your interview immediately afterward, after bearing as Kachuk was calling it on his podcast,
by the way, run it up, boys.
We need a lot of clips.
You go ahead and run that thing up.
This is going to be a good one.
Kachuk said the greatest goal of our generation.
And then you go and do an interview immediately afterwards,
and you just talk about like how thankful you are and how proud you are of the country.
Why is that?
Do you think it's because United States hockey all?
always fighting against Canada hockey, like, since your kids?
Like, how about this generation of team that you guys have?
Why do you think it meant so much and why do you think you were the right group to do it?
Yeah, I mean, first of all, you got to remember,
there's the national team development program in Michigan,
and, you know, all these guys, I think of the 25 guys on that team,
I think, like, 21 of those guys are NCDP guys.
So that's where, like, the best American kids go to play and grow up
and you play there when you're 16, 17 years old,
and you get drafted out of there.
So like these guys, man, there's like,
I think there's eight guys off the 96, 97 program teams there.
So these guys were going to high school together and stuff.
Are you one of those guys or are you younger than that?
I was in 01.
So Matt Boldy was on my team.
He's an 01 mass kid.
Brock Faber and Jake Sanderson on the 2002 team.
So we used to like, I legit was in class with these guys, you know.
And that's where it all starts.
And these guys, like, grow up playing together.
like you go to weddings and all these guys are at the weddings like the Matthew
Cichuk wedding I think like seven or eight of these guys are there and you're just like
the team camaraderie is unbelievable and I mean like the USA like the ex-USA hockey players man
the way they speak about us and you know the things they have done for us that's why I said it
like in that interview the USA hockey brotherhood is so strong and I don't know what it's like
for other countries but you know we're we appreciate the guys
have come before us so much.
And, you know, I know that in 20 years,
there'll be another Jack Hughes,
and I hope he says the same thing.
There will be.
There will be because there's Mike Madano,
there's Patrick Kane, there's Austin Matthews,
there's Jack Eichol, like,
and it's just legacy.
And it's...
Did I see Rizzo on someone's shoulders?
Yeah, I think on Dylan Larkin.
Dylan Larkin was the MVP of the party.
Him and Charlie McAvoy.
Those guys were unbelievable.
I believe Charlie McAvoy will be joining
us next week. Can't wait to talk about that. I'm very excited to celebrate with the boys.
Obviously, the 11 celebration. We've been following you guys enjoying this all.
Much quicker, like, because we see the Stanley Cup. I think Ovi went for like three weeks straight
with that thing, booze in every single day. The Lordo celebrations are legendary at this
point. I mean, that's real. Hockey players are good at celebrating. We think that is a trait that you
guys have. Yeah, it is. You guys are very good at that. Quick turnaround here. You guys are
already back in the league. Do you feel like you will always have the group text? You said the USA
Hockey Brotherhood is there. And I saw you whenever the New Jersey Devils wanted to celebrate you,
and you got Tage Thompson out there from the Buffalo Sabres and brought him out to celebrate,
and your place went crazy for him as well. Do you feel like you guys are going to be connected
forever? Because you definitely are. And how do you manage that for the rest of the season here?
Yeah, I mean, we're definitely bonded forever. You know, we're a championship, you know,
Olympic gold medal winning team.
And we're just so happy.
I mean, we got the World Cup coming up this year in the U.S.
What's happening?
When we beat everybody else?
That's happening.
But I'm sure we'll do something along the lines of that.
And then it's such a good guy.
Like we were talking about already.
Like, can't wait for the golf trip this summer.
It's just like, man, the team camaraderie and like just these USA guys,
they're all just such great guys, such a happy, genuine group.
And I'm so glad to be a.
part of it and just be one of the guys.
You guys all know it's like be one of the guys, man.
It's the best.
And that locker, man, I miss it already.
Me too, man.
Yeah.
Hey, when you guys do that golf trip, please don't announce it publicly where you're
so I don't feel obligated.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Go ahead, AJ.
Yeah, I'm actually going to cover this thing.
That was for America.
That wasn't just me.
As I said in there.
No, that was the entire United States.
Yeah, thank you for giving us.
We had an unbelievable night.
So fun watching all the guys.
enjoy that and I wish
obviously we wish we could have let it roll
for a little longer but
we're back at it like I played a back to back already
I think a couple other guys played it back to back
but I mean that was so fun
but we're hockey players we're back to
playing biscuit and just you know back to it
I'll tell you what you get a couple
hazel-s-snazers and then you get a little
biscuits I love playing biscuits
yeah did you I guess
every little kid seems that you know whatever sport they play
they dream or they envision themselves
as a little kid like hitting them
winning shot, whatever. Did you ever, as a kid, or even leading up to that throughout practice,
think, like, hey, I might be the dude that wins a gold medal for this country. Did it ever
crossed your mind? And then also, like, right after it happened, I guess, did it sink in right
away what had happened and you'd won a gold for the team? It's hard to say because, you know,
there was a story that went out right after Quinn, I think Quinn, my brother had an interview.
And they asked him, like, you surprised, like, can you believe it was your brother? And I remember
the night before the game, before a big game, it's hard to sleep, obviously. And we're in these barracks,
in these dorm rooms in the Olympic Village, right? So we're in twin-sized bed. And, like, probably
1130, we're, like, going to bed. And I can hear Quinn rolling around for, like, no joke, three
hours. And it was, like, probably two in the morning. This is, like, unbelievable. And two in the
morning, he's like, he asked me, he's like, what are you thinking about? And I'm just like,
I'm just thinking about my game winner tomorrow night. What about you?
you and he said the same and that was it and we went to bed after that but oh i'm getting i'm
right now thinking of that honestly yeah like when i'm a kid obviously you dream of it and
you just dream of putting the jersey on the USA jersey because it means so much and yeah i mean
you just like did i think i was going to be the guy like i believe in myself so much but whether
it was me matthews kachucks i like whoever we're so genuinely happy for whoever because
We just wanted to bring a gold medal home for our country.
Yeah, and you did.
And we loved watching it.
And I think against Slovakia, you had a silky cook, top ched.
Nasty, so sick dangles in there at full speed.
I will hit all the hockey terms that I know in this conversation.
But whenever that nasty shot in that particular goal,
then I hear Kachuk, you know, give his little rundown of the potential.
So what is going through your mind there?
How much are you thinking?
Are you blacking out?
Is it all just like natural reaction?
And how does the puck end up five-hole
as opposed to maybe somewhere else in this particular shot?
Yeah, I think like that clip, if you bring it back,
the biggest, honestly the biggest thing going through my head,
McDavid, best player probably ever.
Well, Sid was coming down.
Well, Sid was coming down.
Thanks, Jack.
And then you also exist too, so let's remember that.
He was coming down on me,
and all the boys on the bench were freaking out, you know,
nervous because I'm a forward playing defense,
and he was coming down on me.
and then good defensive play there, and then obviously he's Larkin Z, get up the ice,
and kind of like on that play when the goalie, it's like a seam pass going,
the goalie's going cross-crease.
So I was trying to go across the grain, and he's an aggressive fast goalie,
and he shot out at me.
And, like, I was looking low glove, low, like, low on the far side of the net,
and, you know, he shot out at me, and it ended up going five-hole.
But I didn't even know it went in because the puck got wrapped around the,
like where the camera holder is.
So instead of it, like the puck usually like shoots out of the net.
And this time it like got stuck in the net.
So I didn't even really know.
And then I turned the corner and I saw Dylan Lark and the first guy I saw just sprinting up the ice.
And I said like we did it.
Holy yeah.
Yeah.
You certainly did, brother.
That was special for me.
I know you were out there doing the shot.
I was in a hotel and I said we did it.
Yeah.
I think that was the cool feeling.
Like did you guys know that?
And you talked about being at Olympic Village.
That was a decision made by you guys, I think, right?
To kind of buy into everything that is the Olympics.
And we bought into who your team was.
Did you guys know that?
And I heard a lot of conversations from Sully, who obviously was with Pittsburgh for a long time.
We thank him for Stanley Cuffs.
Now he's in New York.
I heard he gave some great speeches.
And were you guys reminding each other?
Like, hey, our country is like really riding with us right now.
Like 5 a.m. West Coast, people were up.
8 a.m.
It's like, here we go.
Every single moment we were alongside.
Did you know that in the moment?
And how much do you guys kind of chat about that?
Or how much does Sully bring that up?
Yeah, so I have so many points off that one question,
but I feel like there's like five different points off that.
Do it.
And also, final one, are you getting used to speaking with the busted shit?
With the list?
Is this going to be you forever?
Is this you forever?
Looks cool.
So regarding Sully, you know, you get into these like,
these Olympic teams, these like, it's the big dogs on every day.
team, you know, so you get in that locker room, just a bunch of alphas, like, you got guys that
that are leaders on their NHL teams and just a lot of big personalities and guys that have, like,
you know, exude, exude confidence.
Yeah, I'm choked up too, too, too.
Sorry.
They exude confidence, and they're like the ultimate leaders and just, you know, big dogs alpha.
So I think in that room, there's a ton of belief no matter what happened, so much confidence.
And then Sully just kept telling us American Swagger.
American Swagger.
That was kind of his motto was American Swagger.
And, you know, Billy Garron, our GM at the start of the tournament brought us in and said,
he said, whatever it takes.
It doesn't matter if the food's bad at the village, whatever it takes.
It doesn't matter if, you know, the locker room's too small, like, whatever it takes.
Doesn't matter if the ice is bad, whatever it takes.
And with that and Sully just driving home, American Swagger, American Swagger, we're the best team in this tournament.
We're the best team in the world.
like our belief
just skyrocketed
and obviously
you know
American swagger brought us a good medal
and I like to we got American swagger
and I'm getting choked up too
you know I had a big night last night
having a good American
swagger night last night we should have paid for your night
last night huh?
Oh yeah that would be nice
still available seven years in the NHL
number one overall pick yeah I learned a lot
about a lot of your guys's pockets
after that night you know a lot of people are telling me
but American swagger.
Could you feel that America was behind you guys, though?
Yeah, I mean, we were in the village.
We're locked in.
We're in Italy.
We're just with the boys.
We're locked in.
We're dialed in.
You guys know how it is when you're focused on something.
You're just like, you got your mind on the task.
And we knew people back home were supporting and loving us so much.
But, I mean, once we touched down on American soil, we were like, wow, man.
We are really feeling the love.
and we feel so supported and that was sick because just when when we got back home we really felt it
and we were just like we were so proud to be back in the U.S. with a gold medal.
Yeah and the women as well.
We just dominate support.
Do you guys hate them, I heard.
Yeah.
I heard you guys hate the women's hockey team, dude.
That's crazy.
Olympic Village, man.
Like we're hanging out with these, them so much, the women's team.
We are supporting them.
Like, we're at their games, they're at our games.
like all these people talking, how many of them watch their gold medal game?
Me and Quinn Hughes were in the game.
We're at the game until like overtime ended.
On the glass.
And we were jumping up and down so excited for these girls, so excited they won.
And how many of these people watched the gold medal game, watched their semifinals game?
Like 10 of our players went to their game in the round robin.
Like we supported them so much and we're so proud of them.
we're so happy that they won and they brought a gold medal back and that you know i said it the
men's and women's team both brought gold medals back so just unbelievable for usa hockey yeah we own
the sport yeah yeah yeah sorry about it now listen i do think there is some political things that
happen and maybe people that have never watched sports before we're not just a hockey game or
any sport ever were potentially the people that are maybe hopping in to some of these conversations
but you allegedly, you and your brother, the story was like Tom Brady wanted to meet up.
There was a time of schedule.
And you're like, no, I would like to go watch the women's hockey team.
Your mom, I believe, is women's hockey, U.S. women's hockey, like legend from my understanding.
So that narrative getting built, I assume for you guys was very, like, frustrating in this entire thing.
And I think as we roll on, it'll be very obvious that, you know, we're all on this thing together.
We got Megan joining us here in like an hour or so.
She's up in Ottawa.
Keller?
Yeah.
Yeah, man.
Me and her had a great moment in the cafeteria.
After her gold medal game, we played Savagia the next night.
And it was like a late game, 9-10 games.
You get back to the calf at like 1.30 at night.
And, you know, we were in the pasta line.
Me and Megan, they were just getting ready to go out again.
And I just gave her a massive hug.
And I said, I'm so happy for you.
I'm so proud of you.
And you wouldn't believe me in Quinn's reaction.
We were so pumped for you.
and then two nights later, or whatever it was, a couple nights later,
saw her again in the calf, and we took a great picture.
She just gave me a big hug and was so pumped for me as well.
Yeah, well, that feels like that's how probably everybody that's in the entire thing.
Now, granted, after you win the gold medal and you're in a locker room feeling euphoria,
we need you guys to be conscious about good journalism, okay?
We need you guys to be good conscious about all that type of stuff.
The expectations on you guys in that moment, outrageous.
But just know that everybody with a brain so pumped for both you and the women's
I believe they're playing Freebird right now as an ode to you.
That's sweet.
You boys going wild over there with a few songs.
I feel like, we watch it at 11 whenever the songs came on.
It was like, oh, this must have been the boys.
The national anthem.
It must have played Dream on like 10 times.
It's the best song of all time.
Like, come on, boys.
I'm sure the usual, like, on,
deck what's on deck for that DJ.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Way different than what was going on.
Connor has a question for you.
Yeah, Pat just mentioned you come from a family of playing biscuit.
You know, your mother being a huge part of USA hockey, your dad.
And there's a sweet moment after the game of Big Walca Chuk and your dad kind of basically
holding each other's, you know, heads in their hands, just euphoric after you scored that
game winner.
But just talking about your family, you know, was there a moment after the gold medal when
it was just you guys?
You guys got a chance to just kind of take in that moment.
And how huge of an upbringing, you know, with your mother and father being involved in hockey,
has that played just in your entire life, you know, let alone your older brother being, you know,
legend captain over in Vancouver getting traded to Billy G's wild before as well to him,
him kind of having that connection.
But how cool.
And there's another one, right?
There's another one of you.
Yeah, your other brother, a teammate of yours, I believe, like Luke, that is also just such a kind of
historic family of hockey.
Have you guys had a chance to sit down just as the Hughes's together and how much
do they mean to you as far as your hockey journey goes from this moment?
So yeah, I'll start with, you know, I'll start with the Keith Kachuk, Jimmy Hughes
celebration in the crowd.
That was unbelievable.
And I don't know if they were what they were doing, hugging, kissing up there.
Yeah, yeah, made both.
But so when Quinn, this NTP that I was speaking about before,
when Quinn and Brady were there together, they lived together with Big Walt.
So those three lived together for two years.
And like Big Walt means so much to Quinn Hughes's development.
He's got so many funny stories of Quinn and Brady.
So yeah, like the Hughes and Cichuk family are so close.
Matthew and Brady have been so good to the three of us for so long and it's family.
So the fact that they got to share that together is unbelievable.
and then regarding my family.
We really haven't had much time to, you know, just break this down and, you know, just talk about how special it is.
I just told my parents briefly, you know, when I saw them, like how proud I am to represent them, the Hughes family name.
And I'm just so thankful and lucky that they sacrificed everything for us.
For them, I have three boys in the NHL.
It's people don't even understand how hard it is how much how much hard work it takes to get one boy there, let alone three.
So I'm just so lucky.
I'm so thankful if they're my parents.
And, you know, I'm so proud.
And I'm so proud that we represent them and, you know, everything they've done for us.
So the hockey god just said, let's pick the perfect guy for this whole thing.
That's what they just did.
Everything you do is like with such humility.
Why is that?
Because hockey is like a sport that will just beat your ass.
like hockey is the culture that this entire thing because every hockey player I met,
which is why I think we're all so happy for the women's and men's hockey team.
It's like always say and do the right stuff.
Like team always first before anything else.
I assume you're even kind of uncomfortable with all the spotlight,
but it's for the good of the game and for the good of the United States of America.
Is that just what hockey is?
And obviously whenever you grow up in it with your family,
it's just kind of like, hey, remember this is much bigger than just you?
Is that kind of the mindset you think of hockey and why your culture has remained what it is?
where you eat a stick, lose a tooth.
Who knows how painful that has to be?
Has to be so painful.
And then you, I talked to you earlier,
you're like, there wasn't really like a question on if I was going to,
like people were making a big deal out of that.
Like you were almost like confused why it was such a big deal.
And I think it's because in every other sport in 2026,
if somebody is given an opportunity to potentially say,
I got to look out for me,
especially for something you're not getting paid for,
which would be the Olympics,
it's like they would definitely bow out of that.
You being the guy that you are from the family that you are doing that, I think
showcased hockey in such a good light as a whole, but also the way you guys have handled
it, I think people have fallen in love with your sport.
Why do you think the sport of hockey has such a good culture and what do you think that
means to the future of the sport?
Yeah, we were talking about it before, but obviously hockey players are, you know, such nail guns,
really.
They play through some injuries.
Can I start using that?
That's good.
That's good.
We all put in our heads immediately.
They play through so many things.
Games played matter, and they're important.
I'm a guy, like, I've gone through my fair share injuries,
and I always hear fans, like, chirping me and, like, being like,
but, man, like, there's nowhere I'd rather be than playing.
Like, that's what I want to do more than anything.
And, yeah, like this thing, like, every single hockey player loses teeth.
That's not even a question.
I know it looks from the outside.
Gnarly.
Like some big deal.
But, you know, it doesn't matter who it is.
Every single hockey player is, like, playing through that.
Because it's just whatever.
It's more of just, like, God damn, like, I've got to spend time in the dentist chair now.
You were hoping for blood to get the four minutes.
Yeah, like, honestly, Quinn, if you watch the clip again, I'm, like, looking down at my teeth
and Quinn's the guy with the puck for the delayed penalty.
And he's, like, he's, like, looking at me.
And then at the TV timeout, he comes up to me.
He's like, it's not that bad, man.
It's only chipped.
You're good.
You're good.
I was like, I'm feeling around in my mouth.
I'm like, I don't know, man.
But, yeah, back to the hockey culture.
Like, it's always about the team first.
I imagine football's the same way.
Kind of, you hope.
Like, it's team first.
It's all about the boys.
It's a great group of guys.
Hockey, the common hockey guy is just a solid, down-to-earth guy.
And, you know, this, you have a good.
SA group was an elite, elite group of guys, and it's so much fun to be a part of them.
So it was all about the team, all about the boys, and just all about being together.
United is one big group and, you know, bringing a gold medal home.
Okay, so what is the dentist going to do?
Just pull it out completely, so you just have no front teeth so everybody knows who you are whenever you show up.
I don't know.
Why don't we just keep this?
The amount of dentists reaching out in America, you don't believe in, man.
It's like, it's hilarious.
It really is.
Yeah, you've got the golden chicklets, pal.
I mean, they're certainly going to be looking for something.
But honestly, I, very thankful when you showed up here with that grill.
I was like, yes, that is what it is.
And I said to you, are we keeping us forever?
Because it could become like calling card.
Very notable.
This guy, the sport of hockey, loses his mouth, okay?
Swallows teeth and stick, comes back, wins the Olympic gold medal.
Never question leaving.
It's like such a good thing for sports and grit and everything like that.
And I asked you if you're going to keep that.
And you're like, it does hurt like hell.
I mean, like currently you are in pain, I think.
What is the plan with the mouth?
What is your going forward?
Honestly, right now, no plan.
Like, dude, we just had a back-to-back in Jersey and Pittsburgh
and then off the St. Louis to play games tomorrow.
So I'm kind of just like dialed in again on playing hockey.
And thank you.
I have no idea, like, what my dental plan is yet.
So we'll see.
That's on the back burner a little bit.
I think we should think about figuring out how not to be in pain.
Or knock it out.
Oh, for pictures.
Take a piece of the gold medal, gold tooth.
Oh.
As the tooth.
There is.
There's just the note out there.
On the Pat McAfee show, boom, there it is.
Yeah.
Yeah, we'll do a lot of this if you would like us to.
Bringing a dentist.
Yeah, we'll get a dentist in here to come pull that thing out and then we'll go ahead and get the gold.
It'll do it to one of his teeth, too.
Yeah, I'll do it to one of mine, too, from your gold medal, though.
Another thought, if we're doing brainstorming, I like this.
And I think I would like a piece of your gold medal as well
for doing gold teeth.
I didn't know if that was available for all parties or not.
What if you do just get one of those little flipper things
that covers in there?
And then when you're at events and they're like,
ladies and gentlemen,
Olympic gold medalist jacuzzi and go, huh?
Oh, yeah.
You know, take the photo, put it back in there.
Crush with the kids, the magic tricks you could do.
How about the beer cons?
Oh, yeah.
They were shot.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, my.
Not that you should do that professional.
No, ideas.
Yeah, if you want us to do more ideas.
These are good ideas, but I'm going to scratch all of them.
Just see a good dentist.
That's fair?
Yeah, sorry, boys.
You're Jackie.
You should go whatever you want.
Okay.
I mean, I'm bummed out about that, but you can do whatever you want.
Go ahead, Ty.
It's very evident how, and we talked about it, you know, like the hockey culture in general.
All you guys are very humble.
We've met a lot of, you know, hockey players who are big-time players in the NHL and, like,
the humility always shines through.
But has it been, like, evident yet?
like holy shit like my life completely changed overnight like i don't know if that's really set in
yet but like i saw and again this isn't the end all be all it means nothing in the long run but like
boom you shoot up and you have over a million instagram followers right after it like everyone who
is maybe like a tangential hockey fan like they know who you are now like have you felt that at all
or not really yeah of course i mean um you definitely feel it like it's definitely it is a different
level for sure. I know people say it's the biggest goal in American hockey in 46 years, so
I'm not oblivious to that, but it's also like the time where I have to lean into who I am the
most ever in my life probably and just, you know, stick to who I am. You know, all that other
stuff is materialistic and it's just obviously it's cool and it's great, and the people that have
reached out and it's unbelievable and I appreciate the support. But right now is the time in my life
where I have to be Jack Hughes more than I've ever been in my life,
and that's what I'm trying to do.
So I'm proud of this whole moment.
I'm so happy that I was the guy, and like I said,
I'm so happy to be a part of that group.
But I want to try to always be humble about that goal
and go about it the right way.
All right, we'll brag for you.
Seriously, though.
But I don't want you guys to think I'm some squid that just like.
Squid, okay, nail gun.
Any of these numbers?
Is that from Rocket Power?
But yeah, like, trust
me, I am so proud.
There's been so many people that have reached out,
so many, like, family, friends, loved ones.
And then on top of that, so many athletes
that I respect, so many cool
people, and it's been
unbelievable. But for this
group, for USA hockey, for the country,
I feel like,
like, so many people in the country needed this.
And it is just
it is such an unbelievable feeling.
Hey, tell me about the Medal of Freedom winner.
Presidential Medal of Freedom winner, Hall of Buck,
saw every puck.
That is, that's unbelievable, man.
Like, that is, I think that's the highest honor of citizen can work.
I watched the clip from my understanding, the way it was delivered is,
hey, this is the top.
Civilian ain't getting anything else other than this.
And he stood on his head, obviously.
But wasn't there some things being said about him?
Like, I can't play in a big game, can't do this?
And then in the biggest game, he plays the best game.
A goalie's ever, I don't know what you would know hockey a lot, obviously.
Yeah, so we had, we had.
You would kind of know.
I know a little bit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, right better than me.
No, but we had the, I think there's like a, there must be a documentary or something coming out.
The NIT trail had camo crews in the locker rooms following things, but you'll see it at some point.
But our game, our player of the game award at the end of the games, I won it after the Slovakia game,
and I gave it to Hellebuck, obviously, after the gold medal game.
And I said, Heli, in the biggest game,
Helly was the best player in the world.
And he really was.
He was unbelievable.
I keep replaying the game in my head.
I'm like, how about McElwale?
How the hell did I even score that goal?
Because Heli made so many ridiculous saves.
Celebrini Breakway, McDavid, the Stick one.
There's another one with two minutes left when I was in the box.
Celebrini had a rebound play.
on the power plane.
It's just like he's thrown in his head
and now he's got the highest achievement
an American citizen can win.
And all the players are so happy for him.
I live on the same lake as this guy in the summer
and I just see him fishing all day.
He has it on his helmet.
He has a large mouth.
He's my goalie in the summer for our summer skates.
And they'll be mornings.
Well, he'll text my guy, Maddie Williams,
and he'll be like, hey, man, I can't come in today.
And we know it's because it's good fishing
weather.
And we're like, you scumbag.
And he does that all the time.
He loves it. He's on the lake. He's an outdoorsy
guy. He's just such a chill guy.
And we're so happy that, you know,
in the biggest and brightest moments,
he could stand on his head and the whole
world saw, you know, how
special he is. Yeah, he certainly is. Go ahead,
AJ. Yeah, obviously, end of regulation. It's one
to one. You guys tied. That looks good with a gold medal.
He's the most athletic guy in his show of combat.
He earned that.
I'll get it back to you.
Don't worry.
But I'm wondering, when you get to three on three, how much do you get to work on that?
How different is that than, you know, the normal regulation play?
Yeah, it's different.
It's fun to watch, by the way.
I know it's a non-hockey person.
It's been happening for a long time, by the way.
Yes, I know, but I'm saying it's awesome to watch.
It's got to be so different for you guys, I would imagine.
No, it's so fun.
And, like, for a guy like me, that's, like, peak game for me,
just because it's, like, open ice, highly skilled, fast.
like running gun and up and go.
So even 4 on 4 in regulation, when guys are in the box and it's 4 and 4, it's more like
ISO ball, you know, it's more like other sportsmen because hockey, it's so tight and things happen
so fast.
But when it's 4 on 4, 3 on 3, it's like more ISO ball.
And like guys are like you can one-on-one someone, like you can like man up a little bit more.
And that's just like fun hockey because it's like pick and rolls, like, make.
fan up, get your guy, and a little more like basketball, I'd say, and like football, like
with wide receivers.
Like, when Quinn scored his O.T. winner against Sweden, he was like, he was locked on.
He's like, you got to get me the puck, like on this guy in the spot.
Well, I got a good matchup.
It's so fun.
Hey, I got a good matchup.
Hey, I got a good matchup over here.
We all see it.
Yeah, that's a beautiful thing.
But you guys, USA-T.
But, like, three-on-three is fun.
And obviously, the only time you would practice, really, is during NHL play.
just like with your teams and you go to overtime and stakes were definitely higher in overtime.
Yeah.
In the quarters, man, that Sweden team was so good.
Like, we were like, we were confident, but we were nervous too because Sweden's probably the third best team in that tournament.
So when we had to play them in the quarters, we were like, like, we got to get our shit together fast.
You know, we got to play.
And that game was a dog fight, great win by Quinn.
And then obviously the stakes were the highest in the gold medal game.
and they have great players.
They have the best players in the world.
We have highly skilled players,
and, yeah, like, anything can happen in overtime.
Yeah, we're a great hockey industry.
Yeah.
So it's not worry about that.
There's a Canadian back in the truck.
He's going, 58 world championships back in the truck.
It's like, okay.
Yeah, we respect that.
We do appreciate that.
Chuck said on that podcast that he was told,
hey, you're not going on the ice for three-on-three brothers,
so he can just be careful.
He said he actually started doing the Bucci overtime challenge.
Who do we got?
He said a couple people got you and that.
So you guys know who your three-on-three guys are.
Sully told you that, but going into the tournament.
You don't know, but you kind of, like, have a feel.
Kachucks are unbelievable players from, like, Blue Line Down.
Like, their whole game would be, like, around the Nets.
Like, they're so much better than so many guys in the league,
like right around the net, rebounds, tips, like, all the little things.
Like, it's just, like, same with any other sport.
Everyone's got their things they're good at, like,
where I'm like a skater skill guy
like I can get up and down the rank
they wouldn't put me to play net front
in a big moment like
yeah like Matthew Kuchick's that guy
because he's one of the best in the world at it so
yeah they were so funny in the locker room like
they're hilarious those too
and they feed off each other so
but there are so many big personalities in that
locker room like I don't know what the Canada
locker room was but USA locker room was
a lot of poutin it was tight for sure
it was tight
we were focused but it was also loose where like this group's having fun we believe in each other
we're going to get this shit done and that's because we have the kichucks and jack igle and the boys
the maccify show behind us and american swagger Jesus Christ you're going to say the hues
yeah yeah yeah you want to give himself credit classes classic go ahead but i did want to ask about
the locker room because obviously pat talked about like we're watching at home and we're we
like we're there first period boys are buzzing
like felt really good the second period
felt like it was a 20 minute power play
for Canada like the ice was tilted
between second and third
and then third in overtime what was
the locker room like during those times
it was fine you know like that
was a big push out of them
it was funny it was like
the guys were talking about it
when like they're like
yeah there's going to be a movie like what are they going to call it
and they're like the great hole
They're like funny stuff
just because what happens is like
McDavid, McKinan, like McCar,
these guys are unbelievable.
They're going to make their players, their plays,
no matter what.
Like they're great players.
They're going to make things happen.
And yeah, like it was hard for us in the second,
I think, like they were kind of just rolling
and the ice was tilted and they had a couple
power plays, I think, so.
Five on three, yeah.
Yeah, like that was like a massive kill
out of our group.
When we killed that, we're like,
there's no way we're losing this game.
Then McCar scored. Then you're in a one-one hockey game. You just got to hold the fort down in between the second and third
That's when that's really when Sally was like American Swagger. You guys got to lean in we're the best team in this tournament
You got to believe and we went out in the third. I think we played a okay third
Held the fort down. Helly was obviously elite
We had good looks on the foreman in power play like we could have easily won it there
They had good looks on the power play right after that and then like I said over
overtime going in we were loose we were focused but we were like we weren't tense and it wasn't
like it needs to be me it needs to be this guy like it was like someone in this group is going to be a
hero that's what sully said someone in this group is someone in this locker room is going to be a
hero for the rest of their lives and you know this whole group like we're champions now we're gold
medalists he was talking about you but american hero yeah i like you yeah i like you oh holy shit you didn't
at the time or maybe you did actually that 2 a.m. chat with Quinn when we're into that's sick
when we're in the barracks wow he doesn't like he doesn't respect the goal down
I respect it too much to continue to wear that so what are you so you look super cool with that of
your back pocket I felt like ex-games guy walking up here yeah skateboarder yeah I got a lanyar
come out of my back pocket so I can get into this Lucaswell Stadium you can just keep that mouth
of yours you'll be able to get in anywhere but I uh I appreciate
the way you want about all of it.
I want to let you, the story you told us a little bit
earlier about you and Quinn talking whenever you can't sleep.
I'm just thinking about winning this game.
Me too, brother.
It's fucking rolling over.
This is weird for you to hear, I would assume.
But whenever you said we were loose
and everything like that going into overtime,
Gumpy, I phacetimeed him as soon as we were going
into overtime. And I was like,
we win this now, buddy. Yeah, like you
there's, you should have won that game.
And you did not.
It gets into three-on-three.
He was like, I felt like the hockey gods are about to give, like, we're about to win this game.
And then I start watching it.
I'm like, wow, has Canada ever been better suited for three-on-three with what McDavid is?
He was going blue-line and just a full steam ahead.
And what McKinnon is, and it's like, wait a minute.
This might be like Canada's thing.
And then we start watching you.
Oh, fucking dangles and a boy start cooking.
It's like, oh, this ain't, this isn't the early 90s anymore, pal.
We are here.
And it was a fun ride.
I, Pittsburgh Penguins fan, we beat the shit out of you last night.
But we did, we did clap for you, which you certainly deserve.
Do you know those are coming?
Do you know that's coming?
Because you were just standing out there seemingly for the National Anthem,
and then all of a sudden they start showing equipment manager,
and then they get to you, and then Pittsburgh goes crazy for you.
Obviously it happened in New Jersey.
We assume this will be.
Yeah, St. Louis next.
Oh, yeah.
Like, how much do you know about this before it happens?
and what has it been like kind of getting love from people that aren't necessarily just like Devils fans, if that makes sense.
Yeah, I mean, we were talking about it off the show, but, you know, I had the one, the ceremony in New Jersey, which was unbelievable.
Shout out there.
Felt the love like crazy in New Jersey, obviously where I play.
Of course, they're going to do that for me, and I'm so appreciative for that.
Then we go to Pittsburgh the next night, and I had an idea they'd do something Olympic-wise because that was their first game.
but I don't know.
I didn't know how to feel because I know Sid is obviously their guy,
and I'm sure they were rooting for him, Canada would do well.
But then when they gave me the standing ovation, it was just,
I was so grateful, and I just said after the game,
I said, like, Pittsburgh is such a great sports town,
and I'm so proud that, you know,
and I'm so happy and grateful that they, like,
it was unbelievable, man, to go into an away arena
and get a standing ovation, man.
That's all remember that for the right.
rest of my life. And, you know, all my friends and my brothers were texting me and they said,
how cool is that, man? And I said, that was unbelievable. I don't think they're the last ones.
No way. I don't know. I don't know. But we tried to get them to do it in here.
We do love them. Yeah. We do love Sid, but we love America and Golds, probably a little bit more.
That was a great moment, though. That was unexpected and super sick. That was special.
Go ahead, con man.
Yeah, Werensky got one in, but not to your level.
but he's got one in Boston last night.
And one of the moments I think that got everybody was after the game
and they go and get Johnny Guedro's kids.
And, you know, the moment of them skating around.
I think it was McAvoy, Austin, and one other with his jersey,
and not to mention the photo with both their kids,
but how much of a motivation was like for Johnny Guadro?
And a little follow up.
He's been with you guys through this entire, like he's a part of the teams you're talking about.
All these guys have played with Johnny Guadro.
when I was 17, I played with the world championships.
And, you know, I'm obviously a skilled, small American forward.
And when I went to the world championships, Johnny Goodrow, Patrick Kane, Clayton Keller,
three guys that I looked up to so much growing up, we're all on the same team.
So us four, we're all in that 2019 world championship team.
And like I spoke with Mr. Gudrow after the Slovakia game.
I saw him up in the family room and I talked to him for 10, 15 minutes.
And they're just such a good family.
All these guys love Johnny.
They all played with Johnny for so many years.
And he grew up with all these guys, you know, on World Junior teams, world championships.
Like Panofin, Kachuk played with him in Calgary for so many years.
Like, Werenstki was with him in Columbus.
Like all these guys have ties with Johnny.
and yeah, that's Larks.
Like him and Larks were so close.
And all of USA hockey was so crushed when Johnny Goudreau and, you know,
his brother passed away is such a sad tragedy.
And, you know, for them to include the Goudreau family and for them to be a part of this, man,
that's, it should be because this is a team that Johnny would be on.
And, you know, we're just, we're so sorry for the Goudreau family still and they're always in our hearts.
And we're glad that they could be a part of this.
He was there, though.
That Maccoy?
I felt like there was some things happening.
And then you guys do it.
They do it after.
Yeah, there's like so many things.
Yeah, wide open.
And then it's like, it did feel like it was.
Man.
I'm like getting emotional.
Like your team, just so many great storylines in there.
And then whenever you bring the kids out there and take the picture, it's like, this is hockey culture.
Like, this is literally everything that sports tries to be.
So thank you all for representing and doing that.
Now, before you get on the road to St. Louis, which we assume in their barn, they're going to be,
not a bunch of squids in there that I represent you know they got nail guns on over the place will you talk to
bittington at all probably not no I don't know are you going to escape by him I'm sure he's so competitive
and he's won he's won a Stanley Cup probably I would say a mutual respect there but we I don't think
we'll talk do you think you're going to get targeted from Canadian like Tom Wilson would you got caps
anytime like you are he targets everybody I hope not I don't know I really don't know I
think that I honestly don't know.
I would say that the rivalry USA Canada is very intense right now, very intense.
Like no tummy sticks going on between the other guys.
Right it down.
But I would say that there's a lot of respect between those two teams.
Like it's a very intense rivalry, very competitive.
It's good.
I'm actually kind of happy.
I'm kind of happy you guys didn't win four nations because then it would have been
the 15.
first state thing.
Because they won and then that kind of got quiet.
And that was good.
I think that was good.
I think that was good.
You and the boys made us all so incredibly proud.
And I know you've been on a little bit of run.
We got a back-to-back plus we got the White House,
plus we got 11, plus we got an elbow room,
plus we got the flight back from Italy,
which I assume was a good time.
And then the barracks boys.
And then we're in the calf late night.
You know, we got this entire thing.
Do you think you could have a little dangles
and maybe put this hockey ball with this.
with this stick into that hole right there for $100,000 donation to a charity of your choosing?
Really?
Yeah.
Hell yeah.
Okay, okay, okay, let's go.
Let's do this.
Before we let you go on the road.
I'm taking this off, right?
Yes, sir, yes, sir.
We use this one here.
It's slanted a bit.
Be careful.
Listen, I don't know if you're going to be able to hand off.
Get this right here.
Okay.
Ball hockey.
Do you grow up playing any ball hockey or he's strictly ice?
Hold on, hold on.
Don't shoot yet.
Hold on.
Please.
We would like to build the moment.
Oh, you got pretty good dangles there.
Silky, man.
Silky men.
What you say?
Charlie McAvoy wants a kick of destiny.
I think he said that to you on the face-timed you, right?
Yeah, he said he wanted to do a field goal kick, yeah.
He wants that.
He wants one of those.
I like the way you boys are trying to angle it to more money.
Okay, I do.
I really do appreciate that.
Okay, have you ever, is this seemingly an easy task for you as an actual hockey player?
Because we looked at it, and we assumed you'd be able to accomplish it, but not 100%
short because this is an abnormal thing.
I actually am nervous right now
because this looks kind of hard.
Jack, you scored the fucking gold.
But I'm on the Pat Macfee show. I want to make this shot.
There is not 26 million people
watching.
The Olympic gold medals.
$100,000 to a charity of your choosing.
If you're able to put that ball into that hole right over there.
Jack Hughes, you've made your entire country proud.
You've made all of hockey proud.
And now you can win $100,000 to a charity
of your choosing. Jack, put it in the hole.
Oh my gosh
That's a nail gun right there
Yeah it's a bit of a nail gun
Hey not a squid at all dude
I love to play tummy sticks
Sometimes at another day
What a bingo
What a bingo
There's a little bingo there
Jack we appreciate the hell out of you man
Thank you for taking time with us
Thank you for what you did for America
Safe travels to St. Louis and we can't wait to follow your
NHL career buddy
Ladies and gentlemen

Yeah.
No, no.
She'd have moved it 100 yards back.
Yeah.
Here's the replay of him just easily.
I was kind of in his way too, you know, I wanted to put a little present.
Yeah, he stepped left too.
Yeah, he knows how to create space, just like he gets Slovakia.
Yeah, great space.
Yeah, whatever you got played at the game.
I'll tell you what, we've had a great time here back.
We hope you have enjoyed our three days here at the Combine.
We'll be back for Overee.
Oh, we'll be in Arizona with Team USA again.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Have a great weekend. Goodbye.
Okay, I had to get that in there.
Okay, let's get to a break because I'm about to Pied my pants.
On the other side, we got Megan Keller joining us via FaceTime.
Thankful that Jack Hughes was able to fit this into his schedule.
Also, Megan Keller fitting this into her schedule.
She's in the middle of season in Ottawa right now.
So we'll catch up with her on the other side.
We'll continue to celebrate incredible athletes from the United States of America
who make us all proud while also talking about ball.
We'll wrap the show up with Matt Patricia,
obviously Ohio State Defense Coordinator,
or a man who knows the NFL very, very well.
So we got a lot on the other side.
We hope you will join us.
Be your friend, tell the friend something nice.
My change their life.
Take five.
Five!
Where are my gloves?
Come on, heat.
Winter is hard, but your groceries don't have to be.
This winter, stay warm.
Tap the banner to order your groceries online at voila.ca.
Enjoy in-store prices without leaving your home.
You'll find the same.
regular prices online as in store.
Many promotions are available both in store and online, though some may vary.
Everybody's mics are off.
I didn't hear a single thing you guys had to say.
That's a great start there for the third hour.
I think what was happening is we have a special guest that has been waiting here.
And by the way, should never leave this person waiting.
We shouldn't have done that.
Now, was there some shenanigans with Jack Hughes immediately afterwards?
Yeah, blame Jack.
Is he an American hero, okay?
We're about to be joined by another one, who as soon as he walks anywhere,
everybody in this building kind of caught wind that he was here and has traveled down,
turned into a full meet and greet for an Olympic Globe medal down here.
And I thought to myself, this stadium is the perfect place for people that love everything about
what Jack and Team USA accomplished.
And it wasn't just Jack and Team USA in the men's hockey.
It was also a lot of other incredible Olympians that showcased American swagger and American
greatness.
And although the men's hockey team won, they were not the first hockey team to tell the rest of the world, we are the greatest at your sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, joining us now from Michigan.
Okay, Foxy.
Went to school in Boston.
A lot of Pittsburgh girls on the team.
Went to Boston.
Now, leader of the Boston fleet, who are seated what in the PWHL?
Let me think about that.
Yeah, they're the number one team in the league.
We extended the invitation saying, hey, Megan, would love to fly you here to chit chat with us and do your thing.
First answer was, hey, just got out of the Olympics.
We got a game in Ottawa.
I am not like, what are we doing here?
Would love to join, the chit chat, but there's no way I can do that.
So much respect for her, so much respect for our team, so much respect for the United States telling Canada that hockey is our sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, golden goal score in the gold medal game.
Hello.
What's up, guys?
Hey, yeah.
I like that.
I like that.
It's heavier than we thought.
Jack brought his over.
It's heavier than I thought.
And obviously, it weighs nothing after you absolutely cook a Canadian and then score in overtime.
How is life right now for you?
Have you guys got a chance to take it all in on how magical the run over in Italy was?
Yeah, we've gotten a little bit of a chance to take it all in.
We were fortunate enough to have like three days together as a group just to celebrate with teammates, friends and family.
So still a whirlwind and can't really believe it.
But what an honor it was.
Megan, if you guys do put together something ever, I would just, if you could make it public, you know, so the people that would feel obligated to celebrate with American athletes doing great things to United States, America could potentially help.
So if you guys do.
We can let you know.
Thank you.
Please do.
We can definitely let you.
I don't know if you guys are going to want to compete with the men's team, but we already know the number now with where the men's were.
And I assume what the women can do in the hockey world is obviously spectacular.
Let's talk about that moment.
Let's talk about winning it.
Third time, America wins that in the women's hockey division.
Playing against Canada, obviously America, Canada and hockey right now, it feels like is going to be it.
Is there a moment after that when it goes in where there is a legitimate thought like, hey, this is what it's supposed to be?
America is supposed to be the best hockey country in the world.
What are your thoughts and what are your team's thoughts as it kind of settles in in the moment
that you are now the Olympic gold medal winners?
Yeah, it was crazy.
Honestly, the rivalry is like one of the coolest in sports, U.S. versus Canada,
especially on our side.
We get to know them very well throughout the year.
We play them a ton.
We don't like each other very much.
So to have that as a gold medal matchup is it's what you dream of.
And as soon as that puck won in, I think our team was so excited to sell.
We had an incredible tournament.
I think one of the best American teams
to be put on the ice on the Olympic stage.
So to cap it off that, and also with our captain,
Hillary Knight, breaking records in the gold medal game
to send us to OT.
Doesn't get better than that.
Okay, you said one of the best teams.
You have to be humbled to the teams of the past.
You guys are the best team.
I haven't done the research.
I should do more.
Best team we've ever put on the ice.
Thank you so much for allowing us to celebrate
alongside you.
Megan, just learning of you over the,
over the Olympics. 100% on me. We'll follow you forever. Boston Fleet. That's our team.
Let's go. Boston Fleet is our team. Learning about this all right now. The PWA.H. Go ahead.
We take new fans, so you're more than welcome. Thank you. There is some people actually that would
say we don't want new fans to me specifically, and I am thankful that you are inviting me in there.
So you just absolutely cooking with the dangles there. Is that, that's what I should expect from
Megan Keller all the time.
Like are we we cook people all day on the like what is what is if you were to describe your
game is that your game or just anything that needs to be done is Megan Keller hockey.
Anything that needs to be done.
Honestly, I got to be honest.
I'm a defenseman.
So I don't find myself at the far blue too often.
And yeah, the moment called and Taylor Heise, he made an incredible pass up all three zones.
And I don't know.
I was just playing hockey at that point.
You just go back to when you were a kid.
and dreaming of those moments.
I didn't really think about it.
Just kind of blacked out in the moment.
That's one of the greatest blackouts in the history of the, you know,
because we've seen bad ones.
Oh, yeah.
Especially last night I saw a couple, you know, walking around Indianapolis.
It was not great.
Tell me about the team chemistry.
You talk about we play, obviously, with Canada, with the PWH.
We just had Jack on.
He said he had a moment with you in the cough, 1-130,
before you guys were about to go back out,
where he gave you a big hug and said he was proud of you.
It felt like their team very tight because they've been together for a while.
Will you describe your guys' team?
Is it similar for the women's hockey team for the USA hockey?
And how would you describe what the locker room was like over there?
Yeah, we have a really tight-knit group.
We've been, a lot of us have been on this journey since four years ago when the Olympic quad starts.
We have multiple camps throughout the year.
A lot of us have played in college or professionally together.
And you go through a lot as a team.
And so that's the best part about playing hockey.
Like, I feel like it's like the biggest team sport ever.
And so when you were working something for your whole life and you get to celebrate with your teammates, like there's nothing better than that.
Yeah, it's beautiful.
Sports are the greatest.
Okay, sports are the absolute greatest.
My daughter, two and a half, whenever she, you know, watches this live, she was watching in real time.
I don't know if she 100% got it.
Sure.
Yeah, she's definitely.
She's all happy I was.
You know, she's all happy I was.
So she got pumped up.
She's going to be in sports, definitely.
Because what sports teach, women's hockey is so much.
I think every time we get a chance to watch it, we love it.
What were you doing as a kid?
Can I get like the game plan on what I need to do to McKenzie?
So like what is the path for women's hockey here?
Obviously from Michigan, you go and play in Boston College.
Now there's the PWHL and Olympics.
Is this a, because the boys, I know they move and go do stuff.
Like what is the women's hockey path to this point as we try to learn more?
And hopefully little McKenzie McAfee has got some dangles that we can potentially see in the future.
Yeah, let's get some skates on her.
Honestly, it's a different day and age now when I was growing up.
I played every sport under the sun.
And I didn't really fully take hockey, like, as my number one sport, probably until high school.
I was playing softball, baseball, basketball.
And then I think once I saw women's hockey on the Olympics on TV, I was like, that's what I want to do.
That's my goal.
And that's when I think hockey was, like, number one for me.
Yeah.
Thank God you did that.
Thank God you did that.
Boston Connor has a question for you.
Yeah, Megan.
I'm a huge fan of the fleet now.
Very excited to follow.
Can we talk about the goalie, Aaron Frankel, both for the fleet and Team USA?
I believe she's the first goalie ever to shut out Canada from America and also her numbers overall in the entire Olympics for ridiculous.
How awesome is it playing in front of someone like that?
And is it also kind of a relief that if you ever do screw up, which probably never happened?
never happened that she has your back right behind you oh it's happened plenty of times and she's
already saved my ass she she's the best goal in the world like hands down and she's she's done it
every single day at practice she's done it in the professional league so for her to do that on the
olympic stage like it's it's no secret to us but for the world to see that it was pretty cool because
she just stands on her head I think in the gold medal game she had like three off the head that
she just saved for us like she she won us that
that game for sure. Everybody talks about the golden
goal, but it was Aaron Frankel.
Yeah, this is the hockey culture coming in.
Everybody, let's go ahead
and pass
celebrations on to everybody else.
It's such an incredible sport. The culture
is so magnificent.
We're learning about the PWHL, and there's
going to be PWH fans who are going to be pissed
that I just said that I am, but I'll tell you
what, Minnesota Frost got a good team.
Oh, out there in Seattle, Vancouver.
Oh, man.
Adelaah, there's a team. No fleet.
Yeah, to Boston.
The Toronto Scepters, oh, not a bad squad.
The New York Sirens are obviously.
Tell us what we need to know about the PW.
We want to support.
We would like to follow.
We would like to support.
Are we at the beginning?
Where are we at in the season right now?
And when are these games and how can we watch them?
We would like to support the hell out of everything that you're doing.
Strictly because of how good you made us all feel from so many miles away.
Can you tell me about the PWHL a little bit and Boston Fleet winning the whole damn thing?
Is that just what I need to know?
We love that. We'd love that. And if the Boston Fleet went and have a Walter Cup party, we'll be sure to send you the bar tab.
I like that. I like being a part of these celebrations. And then you guys send me a ring or whatever we went. But on that, on that, can you talk about the PWHL a little bit?
Yeah, for sure. I mean, all the players that everybody was watching on the Olympic stage, they all play in the PWHL. It's the best league for women's hockey. And right now we're about halfway through our season. So it's a big.
big stretch right here for us. Our standings, three points up for grabs every night. So you can
walk away of three or zero. And so teams go up and down very quickly. It's like always competitive.
The parody throughout our league is is pretty competitive. So any team can win on any given night.
Like there's no easy games. There's no nights off. So, yeah, Ottawa tomorrow will be a big one for us.
Yeah, I mean, there's no easy game unless you got Megan Keller or anything.
Yeah. Unless you got Aaron Frank.
ankle. Okay. And who else
do we need to know on the Boston Fleet?
Who, who, uh, because we're going to buy some jerseys
I assume. Oh, yeah. Obviously you're awesome.
And or fanatic, but who, uh, who, who, who should we know
in the PWH? W.H. You think who are some other names that we need to recognize and
respect? Alina Mueller. She's Switzerland. She scored the
OT winner for the bronze medal. Um, she also was at the Olympics when she
was like 15 years old. Crazy. And had the game winner. So she's
incredible. Um, my D.
partner, Haley, win. She's a rookie lighting it up for us. I don't know. I'm just kind of sticking to my
team really. Yeah, I see you actually looking around. Yeah, I like you. Tye has a question for you,
Megan. Yeah, Megan, obviously you've won two Olympic gold medals, but with this last one being as
it, you know, you did score the golden goal. Like how difficult, I mean, I know you said you had a couple
days with your teammates where you got to celebrate, but how difficult is it to kind of just
strip away all that euphoria and every.
everything that you've done and be like, okay, now I've got to go back to like my real job.
Like, whereas it kind of seems like you guys, when you win an Olympic gold medal and seeing
what it did for the country, it kind of seems like you guys deserve to have like several
months off. How, how difficult is it kind of just being like, okay, that's over and done with.
That was awesome. Now I got to get back into the day in and day out of what I actually do.
Yeah, honestly, like, I didn't know what to expect because in past Olympics, like we have
had time off and gone on trips and whatnot. But I was so excited to get back.
back to Boston, knowing where our team sits at right now.
Like we have a pretty special group.
And I think just it's an incredible time in sports and women's hockey, like to garner
that viewership and all the all the juice that the Olympics brought into the PWHL.
Like you're going to see the same players every night now being opponents.
Like we're going to go against our US teammates and it's going to be a battle.
So I'm excited.
It was pretty easy, honestly.
The first two practices maybe are a little, little.
hard after the week off in the celebrations, but we're back to it.
Yeah, I think the boys are still struggling.
Yeah, I think rightfully so, by the way.
You win an Olympic gold medal.
Yeah, you deserve to have a little bit of a, we won't call it a hangover.
Yeah, a couple runaways.
A little carryover, yeah, a little bit of a, it was a little bit of a runaway.
A little bit of a runaway.
So you guys hate the men's team?
Is that way?
We asked him, Jack, if he hates you guys.
He said he does it.
That was weird.
Yeah.
You guys hate the men's team?
just so we can clarify that.
And we will tell them we hate them too for you if you would like us to do that.
No, we don't hate the men's team.
Yeah, it was true what like Jack said, seeing him in the calf after I scored,
congratulated me.
And then it was pretty cool after they won.
All of us, I think, sat in the calf to like 4 a.m.
until our buses were leaving, just chopping it up with our medals hanging out.
So it was pretty special.
And first time ever that men's and women's for the U.S.
have won gold together.
Like you can't write that up any better.
We are teams of destiny.
Yeah, you definitely were.
And you are certainly something we will be very loud and cocky about,
even though we did nothing to actually help.
But I want to let you know, we're going to talk a lot of shit on your behalf, Megan.
We appreciate you doing that.
And also, I love the fact that they're simpatico amongst America's greatest athletes who just conquered the world.
That's how it's supposed to be.
Sports are the absolute greatest, Megan.
And what you all did was showcase the greatness of.
the sporting world. Tone has a question for you, Megan. Yeah, Megan, I asked Jack about how they
felt going into overtime, and he said they actually felt pretty loose. They had the rallying cry from
Mike Sullivan of American Swagger. How did you guys feel between the third and the overtime in the
locker room before you went into the, you know, the golden goal situation? Yeah, honestly, I think
our group got less and less nervous as time winding down, which is crazy. Like, you're getting
under two minutes when we put in that goal. And I think when Hill,
scored that one.
Just the feeling in the locker room was like,
okay, we're winning this one. Like, there's
no chance we're not coming away
with gold here. So it was
pretty calm, to be honest.
Do you guys chirp?
Yeah, we chirp. We've got some
good chirpers on our team. Abby Murphy.
I don't know if you've seen her game, but
you would like her actually as a player. She's
fun to watch and she backs
it up. Okay, I like that. So we are
talking shit. I like that. I like that we're doing that.
I love it. We like, okay. So
we are allowed to talk shit. See, we're just trying to learn us all. You know, everybody,
everybody could get mad at us for everything that we say. What I would like,
what I would like to happen is to openly talk shit and not offend anybody. Boston Fleet
about the win this entire thing. Easy. And when's your next, when's the next international tournament?
World championships are, they just got moved. I think they're in November now.
Oh, the, hey, let's go. Yeah. Okay, Megan, let's go and do this.
Thank you so much for taking time with us today.
We know you're very busy.
We know you're getting back into your PWHL schedule,
and we can't wait to follow along.
We hope you'll come join us soon,
and the next time it'll be in person,
we need you to do one of these charity shots
at Jack just did.
Done, I'll be there.
And please, please make it public
if you guys are about to go run up a tab somewhere.
Okay, please do that.
We would love to help and assist in good times.
That's what we like a lot of good times.
We like earning good times.
We like being a part of good times.
and we like good people having great times,
which is exactly what you all would be.
So please keep us updated,
and thank you so much for what you did for our country.
Thank you.
Thanks for having me, guys.
Can we say that gold medal one more time?
Okay, go beat the hell out of Ottawa tomorrow night.
Good luck the rest of the way.
Please tell everybody we said congratulations.
Thank you for joining us.
I will.
Thanks, guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, Megan Keller.
I thought they hated each other.
I'm so confused.
I was told that.
I saw it, like, articles.
because I was ready to kill the Ben's team right there.
Yeah.
What's so funny, you know, Judge?
For honor.
You don't want to do that?
For honor.
I dabble, but I didn't get too caught up in the whole back and forth
in the political situation that got thrown into this.
Because you were on a cruise show.
I tried to bathe in the gold.
You know, so what I've learned in the American Canada disagreements,
I somehow find my way in the middle of it.
And the buying of the tab felt like just,
sure this is an obvious move
this is what should happen
thought somebody else was going to do it
that obviously turns into me being a sexist
racist, everything like that
which is so absurd.
Really cool. It's really cool that that happens by a small
amount of people that we cannot let
They're having a bit of a melter.
Basically every day of their life
seemingly looking for melters to have
a bit of a melter, but we'd like to let them know that you
would never outweigh the happiness
and the unity that sports bring
so you can all eat shit
Yeah.
Absolutely.
It's still coming today.
There's going to be a...
Which is fine.
Don't believe what you heard, okay?
Make no mistake.
The men and women of Team USA, they hate each other.
Okay?
I don't care what they just said today.
I don't care.
They hate each other.
They fucking hate each other.
Jack and Megan, they're political pawns.
Don't believe a word they say.
Well, how about this, though?
I like the fact that, like, learning this from...
We're learning about the women's hockey team as the Olympics.
happen.
Sure.
You know, like, and also we'll follow them after how this wet.
This PWHHL, we've seen highlights.
We learned about it.
Women's hockey is very.
They got it.
It is a incredible sport.
How about them saying?
We hate Canada, too.
Yeah.
And the men are like, it's very intense.
Right.
I'm not a tummy sticks happening.
It's an actual.
It's great.
I think it's great for the sport.
It's great for moving forward that there is some real heat between them.
Yeah, I agree.
And, you know, Sidney Crosby gets hurt in the Olympics and he's out for four weeks.
Those scumbags.
Sidney Crosby, obviously, a goat.
He'll probably heal quicker.
That guy looks really cool right there.
I don't know who he is, but he's wearing a jacket.
He is cool.
But when Sidney Crosby gets hurt, okay, I immediately look in a mirror,
and I say, hey, you, me, one of the loudest people
about these NHL owners being dipshits.
Whenever they ban the NHL players from the Olympics.
Now, granted, I do think if you see what happened with the Olympic hockey
and people getting interested in hockey and everything.
My point was pretty solid at the time when I was very loud,
and we were clipping it and sending it to the NHL saying,
hey, this is the most short-sighted decision you have ever made.
There's a lot of people that we know in the sports world
who don't watch hockey because they didn't come from a hockey town.
And whenever the Olympics aren't, they watch.
T.J.O. She doing this thing.
They know. They remember these moments.
The NHL banned their players from going to the Olympics.
I thought it was very stupid.
And they're like, well, we're paying them millions and millions of dollars.
they go over there, if they were to get hurt, what does that mean for our team?
So as I watched Sidney Crosby get bent like an anti-Anse pretzel,
okay, on the ice, as a Pittsburgh Penguins fan, I immediately go,
why is he even playing it?
Which is certainly what the ownership was also thinking,
I think a lot of people were.
But overall, these international games that don't have a lot, any money on the line,
the sense of pride that comes from it is a necessity for society, I think.
And hockey does it.
I think basketball does it as well.
well. Whenever we talk about these Olympics, there's some team sports that happen that bring us all
together, and hockey is certainly one of them. And even if people don't have a clue what's going on,
there's people, I've heard Stephen A. Smith say this before, and I think obviously he's a very
intelligent person, so he's continued to learn. He said, what I know about hockey? The puck is black.
That's what Stephen A said. And then there's other people that are like, uh, they're ice. They do
the thing, like people that don't know hockey, right? And then they watch that and they're like,
wait a minute, this sport's amazing. And that gold medal game,
between killing and USA, both of them, going overtime with the intensity that it had
and the rivalry that it had, great for hockey.
And we would like to continue to pound the drum like we have because I'm from Pittsburgh.
Hockey.
Tad!
Hockey is awesome.
And this is a good thing.
Everything that's about to happen, I think, for the PWH, which we certainly did not know enough about.
And then the NHL, I think on the following of this, I think we got really good things happening
for the sport.
I think international play really matters and showcases that type of shit.
And we can't be losing Sidney Crosby.
No.
Ever.
Anyone else would have been fine.
Yeah, I'd be okay.
A, okay.
Well, literally anybody else.
Yeah, just as Sid, we can't.
As soon as it happens to sit, I just think to myself, why is this guy?
Oh, because I, we.
And then you think hockey's in a great spot right now.
And it's only going to continue to do that.
Thank you to Megan for joining us.
Once again, offered, offered.
Yep.
And she just like, I can't miss morning.
Morning's good.
I love the answer.
That's okay.
It's the definition of hockey.
That's why the Olympics are so cool, because if you're not someone who follows hockey,
once you start watching it and learning everything about it, like Jack, he's losing two teeth
on the ground and then picking them up and then continuing to play.
You know, Abby Murphy, like Megan just mentioned, like talking shit to Canada.
They're being real heat in sports.
Like we always talk about an NFL.
You almost don't want the jersey swap.
You want that beef.
Yeah, you want the Seahawks all in on themselves.
You kind of want that beef between screw everybody.
else. It's just us, bunker mentality.
And hockey has that in every
single team in the NHL. And then when it gets
the country, it's just amplified
even more just because of those rivalries.
Yeah, and I,
shout out to all of them.
The amount of effort and time
and commitment it takes to do the
hockey. From five
years old on. At 4 a.m.
It's an early morning sport. Yeah, 4 a.m.
in the morning. Parents, he talked about his parents
and they're driving this. I mean, Phil's
in the middle of this with his kids. He's
to play hockey. It's like ice time comes at a certain time. The amount of work you have to be
to be in good enough shape to be able to play hockey because that is just like literally sprinting
the entire time. It's such a cool sport, such a great sport. And obviously, whenever we're the best
in a world at it, it's better. Yeah. Okay, just like everything else. Yeah. Now, yeah,
let's move on. I didn't want to say like if you guys see me getting murdered out there,
which is going to happen because Jack was here and Megan wasn't.
If you guys could please just maybe respond to those and say that we,
because as soon as Megan tells us, I can't because I got to do morning skate,
didn't want to put it into her life.
Okay, didn't want to put it into her life because it's not her fault at all.
She's doing the right thing.
Just being like, hey, I'm going to die here, you know.
I'll set up a bot that responds to everybody.
You're going to need a few of them, I think.
You're going to need a few of them.
There's going to be a lot of people coming after us for this.
And I would like to let Megan Keller know.
I can't wait until they tell us where they're headed the point.
We should just take to Jimmy's approach and just say, fuck off.
So that was one of my turning, I looked on, looks on my phone while I was going to bathroom.
They've done it twice now this past week.
I think they've done a lot more than twice.
No, yeah, yeah, no, I agree.
I think they've been letting a lot.
And shout out to Jimmy's, by the way.
The best.
I mean, they did ruin a lot.
Yeah, they had the cicada parade too.
And they're from that shit city, but.
Yeah, and if you were to learn their story, which I think the United States Business Bureau is, like, looking into their story.
Dad starts a restaurant as an immigrant comes over.
dies while,
passes away
while two boys
are in high school
and then they're tasked
with carrying on
the business as high schoolers
and then the way they go about
giving back to the community
and building a business
and then employing mom
is working for them
and building a bakery
and then becoming a part
of the Baltimore
like fabric basically
of the entirety.
It's like American dream
story happening.
Oh yeah.
And then it's like
oh we want to attack
this people though.
It's like,
I don't know if we're attacking
the right things.
Okay, I don't know
if we're attacking the right things.
but I would like let everybody know,
the Jimmy's boys are built for it.
Yes, they are.
Minidonkus.
That's not his name.
It's Minidakis.
That's not his name either.
Minidagas Papalobalibus.
I don't like how Greek is you guys are.
I don't like how Greek is.
Oh, don't you, Bipiti-Bobpity?
Hey, I'm 0.01% of time.
Jimmy's, keep that Twitter finger rolling, bro.
Malkidocococcus.
It's a micadopalopalus.
I'm sick of everything you guys are doing right now.
Ladies of gentlemen, join us.
Milanakis?
They do have the greatest crab cakes.
Isn't he like 60 years old?
Yeah.
Melanakis?
Yeah.
I think he's been, I don't know.
He was the next bachelor.
He wasn't a kid.
Sorry, brother.
He was like 40 when he was a rapper.
He was a rapper.
He was a rapper.
Peas on my head, but don't call me a bee head.
Yeah, it was one of the best bars you've ever.
We just looked it up, which, by the way, it makes sense because this might be the case, but don't do it.
He's 50.
Congrats to him living out.
Andy, I don't think any of us.
Shut up.
Still doing it.
I assume Andy Milanox still has his fastball.
He does not own Jimmy Seafood in Baltimore.
No.
What Jimmy Seafood in Baltimore owns famous is the greatest crab cake on Earth.
They ship nationwide, and it arrives like it was just there.
The bakery is too delightful.
And the bakeries outrageous.
They got a good steak.
But they still steak.
I bought 100 shots there walking into it the first time.
Met the, uh, met John, he walks however, you know.
What?
Oh, yeah.
Just go ahead and do this, brother.
He's like, you got it.
Let's go.
Let's go have a good time.
And ever since then, I've drawn inspiration from them,
sitting in the pocket and building something.
It's impossible.
I like that a lot of people are learning about them right now,
strictly because they are being exactly who they've been this entire time.
This is the greatest country on earth.
Let us tell you our American dream story.
And if you believe and buy in and have a good team,
magic can happen.
And if you want to talk shit, fuck you.
Yeah, war ready.
All the time.
Yeah.
All the time.
Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen, is a man who might be drawing up the war plans at some point.
Yeah.
This guy's a wizard.
Yep.
This guy's a Super Genius.
This guy's Super Bowl champion, obviously.
But now, defensive coordinator for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Ladies and gentlemen, Matt Patricia.
Yeah.
Hey, Mattie.
Mattie.
Come on.
I wish your daughter.
I like that.
I like the track.
Have a shot.
Hey, what's the wrong way?
How you doing, Coach?
It's an honor.
I mean,
Hey, good to say.
I don't want to judge him, but he did go the wrong way, but he did above everybody.
Hey, what's up, coach?
Good to see you.
Good to see you, coach.
Thank you for joining us, man.
Yeah, thanks for having me on.
You guys are so good to me.
I appreciate it.
Let me come on and we're big fans of yours.
Well, you guys are the best, so.
You have been good, Dutch.
Thank you.
You've been very good to us.
And we're big fans of yours.
Well, I appreciate it.
You're a big football guy.
Obviously, I knew about you.
for a long time because your relationship with Adam
Venetary way back in the day.
Congratulations to Adam Venetary.
Amazing.
It's so good now.
Actually, yeah, congratulations to Adam Vinatari.
He just killed a
sent me a picture of this thing.
A, uh, an oscillated turkey down there.
Yeah.
Mexico, right?
It's unbelievable.
Yeah, he's amazing.
What kind of turkey?
Ocelain turkey.
It looks like a peacock a little bit.
I don't know.
So it's not like a gobble,
gobble turkey?
I think it does gobble,
gobble, but boy, that thing got a little bit of shine
that all the turkey's don't kind.
Is that what they eat for Thanksgiving, Donner?
Well, good question.
And he was Donner when I think a lot of things.
Yeah.
I was like, did you think about Pina?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
And he would, by the way.
He would be a tough one to mess with because he's going to, you know,
he shot a few things.
So he'd be all right.
And he would, I think he would rather die than lose.
And he does like to hunt the most dangerous game.
That is, he's like, yeah.
I guess this would be a good question for you.
those years in New England.
Yeah.
Do you think the separator was that everybody on that team,
and maybe it was Bill's ability and maybe it was the team's ability,
just so incredibly competitive at everything and buy-in at everything.
Like Vinotary is the type of guy, and if he was playing checkers or chess against you
and you were about to win, accidentally flipped table.
Were you going to win?
Maybe.
We didn't finish that type of competitive.
All the time.
And I used to, my first year in New England, I ran the special teams cards.
you know, Brad Sue was our special teams coordinator.
And, you know, that's how Adam and I got really close
because you'd be standing in the kickoff special teams look.
You know, they're trying to get the return set up.
And Adam's like, all right, I'm going to boot this one here.
And, like, he's just trying to scheme up to beat, you know, the kickoff return unit.
And then all of a sudden, like, you know, Rodney Harrison walks in
and he, like, tap some young guy, he goes, get out.
You know, and then so now he's in the huddle.
And I'm like, ooh, this is about to get live right now.
Yeah.
So I'm holding up the card.
And he's talking to Adam.
And Adam, like, he's probably supposed to keep a kick of, like, deep left.
He goes deep right.
Rodney goes right through everybody,
blows up the whole thing.
He's yelling at the return team.
This is guard.
You better get a new return.
I'm like, this is on.
Throw it out.
So let's talk about that.
I think that culture obviously
up in Newing and the Patriot way.
You're a massive piece of that.
You have a lot of success.
You got trophies.
You got rings because of it.
And one of the greatest defensive calls
in the history of the sport.
Thank you.
You take that and you join Ohio State here.
Obviously, there's other stops in a road,
but you're now at Ohio State.
Yeah.
Did you feel like there was a professional
nationalism, I guess, to that Ohio State defense, because we saw what just happened yesterday, and it's outrageous. Backerhood. Yeah, there's backerhood.
They're a different, they're not a different planet. But they're openly talking about how you have assisted them through this entire combine process. Now, granted, I don't know if you're teaching them how to run.
You can definitely, I can tell the athleticism that I have, so obviously I did all those shows. But can you tell me a little bit about if New England and Ohio State, like, compare to each other or what messages you're delivering to the boys,
to get them ready for an NFL situation.
How has that kind of been good for you or bad for you maybe as you're taking this call?
No, it's really been great.
Certainly you've got to start with Coach Day and the culture and kind of the guys and the people that he has in the building.
And certainly on the defensive side, you felt it right away when you walk in the meeting room.
And certainly the linebackers, but Caleb Downs and just so many great guys, kids that you know, you're coaching.
So you feel that competitiveness and you feel that culture of just competing every single day.
But it was, you know, when I walked in there,
and saw those two linebackers, and you're like,
one of those?
I know, yeah.
I'm like, I know what to do with these guys.
Like, I've seen.
What you guys give up like one first down in like four weeks or something like that?
Yeah, you know, and that's always the funniest is when, you know, defense, you're playing,
you don't want to give up anything, right?
And then maybe you make a couple substitutions.
Maybe you're up by a lot of scores.
And now at first, and I'm like a lunatic because we just gave up one first down in the game.
We ruined it.
Yeah, yeah.
That's funny.
Dan Lannning, what was that in a playoff game?
He put his stars back in.
Yeah.
They were up a bunch.
That's JMU.
Took his starters out.
And then all of a sudden I was going bad.
He was like, nope, this is not how this shit's going.
That's right.
Get you boys back up.
We had the same thing.
I think it was later in the season.
We hadn't given up a 100-yard rusher in like 10 games.
And so it's getting close.
And I'm looking at the head coach going,
can we get that other group back out there?
Not really about stats.
But let's just shut this.
Yeah, yeah.
Take a risk.
A lot.
Yes.
History matters, though, coach.
We know that.
Go ahead.
Yeah, I guess, Coach, what were you able to, like, you got to Ohio State, and you know the expectations there.
Coach Day says a lot of time, hey, we can't lose, we can't have a bad day.
You came in your defense just off the charts from the jump, and also replacing a ton of studs.
Right.
Now, obviously, you have other studs in line, but you don't know what they can do yet, really.
I guess what were you able to do, like, schematically with your defense?
How was it able to be so successful?
And how do these guys, how do they take to it to where they were able to execute so well?
Yeah, and give credit to them.
You know, the players, when I got there, certainly change is always hard, you know, and we had lost all those great players.
as the year before. And a lot of guys, the interesting things, they just hadn't played.
You know, they didn't have the game snaps. So really through the spring, I was like,
all right, we're going to teach conceptually. You know, we're going to kind of talk about structures,
whether it's coverage in front. And it was almost like I kind of like tricked him a little bit.
I was like, oh, it's really not that much. It's just this front. It's just this coverage.
And then by the time we got to the end of the spring, you know, and I kind of listed it,
I was like, all right, look, we can move this with this and kind of put all the pieces together,
you know, like I do, like a chessboard. And then you just saw their eyes light up like,
oh wait, we just learned a whole bunch and didn't even realize it, you know,
and that's what made the multiplicity that we were able to use throughout the course of the season.
And it really was just, you know, figuring out what do the guys do well, right?
So it's not about scheme, it's not about plays.
It's really about what do they do well and how do I put them in that position so that they can go play fast and aggressive.
And certainly you've got a guy like Caleb Downs who can do everything.
So it's like, hey, we can put them here.
We can put them there over there.
We can have a disguise and go here, Arvel or Sonny and kind of just keep mixing those pieces.
and I think they just are competitive
and they're super smart, super great,
and they just loved it. So it really
grew from there. I think people ask like,
oh, is that what you ran in New England? I'm like, well, no, it was really
just the Buckeye defense. That was our defense that grew
based on the guys that we had
last year. Okay, so everybody was saying your NFL
guy figuring out college offenses, this
is like what happens here. You get Matt
Patricia taken on college offenses,
this is what's going to happen. Do you
think that your guys are prepared for an NFL
defense with the shit that you were calling? Because that's all they kept
saying is like, this is an NFL defense playing against
this and then you got 4-4-4 across the board.
And Caleb down to Josh Chapman, who is a teammate of mine at Indianapolis Colts,
nose tackle, D-tackle.
He's now working at Alabama.
When Caleb was freshman, I think it was his first game, we were down there.
Chapman came out to me, me and me and Chap still tight.
He's one of the greatest human beings in hit a gigantic deep old southern guy to be loved.
And we asked him, and he was like, gold jacket as soon as he got here.
That guy is a gold jacket guy.
Yeah.
So obviously you had an incredible talent at Ohio.
that you're going to have that.
But do you think with the way you were playing
and the shit you were doing that the transition for them
into an NFL defense is going to, I don't want to say easy,
but like do you think these guys,
because of running your defense,
are in a much better position maybe than other places?
I mean, I really hope so.
You know, I mean, that's the whole goal.
I say it all the time.
Listen, those two linebackers are 6-5, 6-4.
I'm like, you're going to get in the NFL.
Someone's going to, you know, whether I'm here or not.
It doesn't really matter.
You're going to get in the foot.
How do you stay in the NFL, right?
we've all seen that, you know, guys that either go earlier, guys that don't even get drafted at all.
It's such a different game.
So my whole thing to them was like, we're just going to teach a little bit differently.
We're going to teach more conceptually.
We're going to learn, you know, the bigger picture.
And I think that is one thing that will help them is they, you know, have to go into those new locker rooms and see those new schemes.
And right when the season ended, you know, I told all those kids, I said, listen, we're going to, we're going to go on a schedule.
We're going to meet once a week.
We're going to Zoom.
We're going to review all the schemes.
I said, I'm going to put you through the combine interviews.
We're going to, you know, meet individually.
We're going to talk about, you know, your workouts and your drills.
And I said, you have to get an advantage now.
You have to be ready to go.
And they loved it.
Like, we just met every week.
And, you know, you miss them, right?
Like, it's season ends.
Like, it's over all of a sudden.
And, like, you miss seeing all their faces.
So it was great to get on Zoom and just keep that relationship going.
And Arvel last night, when he got done, we were talking.
And he's like, man, he's like, I didn't really realize how much we had done and learned.
And, you know, that's all you want.
You just want them to have that chance to be successful.
Yeah, it feels like that's probably good for recruiting to.
Yeah, that might help.
now I know you guys are in Indiana's big 10 right now so you guys are going to have to go back to the fucking drawing board
yeah coach Patriots fan so thank you for your service thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you
thank you much beloved up there appreciate still but going from the pros to college was there anything
that surprised you does it feel much more professional NFL type in college and was that something that
going into it you're aware of or is it still you know two separate games you know you know
know, still football and football, but the level isn't there just yet in college?
Yeah.
I think, you know, on the field, probably my biggest job is the hashes.
Like, what did we do to the hashes in college football?
It's so different.
That spacing, that was probably my biggest adjustment.
Harder to kick in college than is the NFL?
I mean, can we just put it down the middle and just like, you know, kick.
Yeah, why is it?
Why don't they change it out?
I mean, that's pretty, I like it.
It's pretty good.
We're nice and even just set up.
But that was the biggest difference schematically for me.
But, you know, the game, really kind of walking into that room, that joyful sort of like love of the game,
youthful, maybe innocent love of the game that I hadn't seen in a long time, you felt that right away, you know,
especially the young kids.
And then you realize how old are you?
I'm like, how old are you again?
And they're like, you know, I'm 18, 19.
I'm like, all right, my kids are this.
I'm like, wow, this is.
Had Brandon Graham the year before and he was 50 years old.
Yeah.
Well, I walked into my first meeting this year and I'm looking at one of the kids and I'm like, man, I'm like, is your dad Duke?
He's like, yeah, I'm like, I coached your dad.
I'm like, I'm like, your dad moat.
He's like, I'm like, I coached your dad too.
I was like, what the heck is going on?
This guy's grandpa, coach.
Yeah, look at your old ass, Drew.
You know, back in the day, I used to be like, you know, I'd get gray hairs in my beard.
I'm like, all right, this was Drew Brees.
This one's Peyton.
You know, now I'm like, all, this is just kids.
They just all frotted out nice and quick.
Tone has a question for you.
Coach, you just talk about playing against Drew Brees, Peyton Manning.
In here, we watch you guys take on Fernando Mendoza.
and you hit first play right in the mouth.
And we're like, holy shit, he's going to be out.
His brother's going to be whatever.
He didn't.
He came back in.
What makes Mendoza so good?
What are the Raiders going to get if he's going number one?
Why is he the number one best quarterback in this draft?
Probably a former quarterback in that organization that's probably like that pre-year-old.
Yeah.
And what would he like about him, you think?
Yeah.
I would say this.
Going back the previous summer, the Peyton Manning Passing Academy, Manning Passing Academy,
we went down to that and I saw him.
He was at Cal and I remember spending time with those maybe just checking quarterbacks out just in case.
Yeah, you never know.
Trying to get ahead.
Do diligence.
Coach.
Yeah.
So I remember spending time with him and just loved his energy but really how smart.
And, you know, I'm always looking at how big guys are.
And I was like, you know, he's tall.
He's, you know, can stand in the pocket because a lot of the guys are just, you can't see over the offensive linemen, you know.
But one of the things you notice right away was just how tough, like how tough he is.
like in the pocket taking those hits over and over so we definitely wanted to hit him early as hard as we could
and katynette yeah katynapolis kid yeah man he great the unbelievable kid a smart he's just a ball player
right so he goes right off the edge we kind of had an idea what maybe was coming and he and i was like
wow like that was i don't think he's and then he got and then he gets up and you're like oh oh
that was our best shot right yeah yeah it's like those terminator movies right
Like you're good, you're not good.
You're not okay anymore.
So I think his pocket presence, the way that he moves in the pocket,
I think that maybe the Raiders would like that
and the way that he can see downfield.
You know, he keeps his eyes down.
Okay, so everybody talks about the RPO, RPO, RPO.
He was number one in third down, number one and fourth down,
number one in the red zone.
Yes.
He can make the throws?
Like, did you watch the film of the game in the Big Ten afterwards?
Yeah.
And was there some things that he did that you were like,
I did not expect him to be able to do this against us
because he was doing shit against your defense that we had not seen,
really.
I mean, old buddy deep shot down the right side, Charlie Becker.
Like, that was abnormal against you guys.
Yeah, but he, Becker has been, he had been coming on and coming in.
Like, you know, big catch radius guy, so we certainly knew.
I mean, we gave up like 13 points.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
You know, it was like defensively.
I think they were averaging 45 or something, but.
Yeah, you guys were kind of assing that big team championship.
I'm just waiting for it.
But I'd say this, you know, watching him live in the arm velocity and the
ball coming out of the pocket was maybe something you can't pick up on tape.
You knew the accuracy.
You knew his vision, but the ball speed and him able to really get that in those tight windows
and those shots that he made at the end.
And every ball is a, I think his hands must be gigantic because every ball is, yeah, it's a tight.
I think, I think might also be this building a little.
I have a history in buildings, right?
And so there might have been another ball on the sideline, same idea, end of a game
against the Giants where I'm like, what are, like, you're, like, you're,
lose a game.
Yeah, first down.
It was a big time.
Yeah.
Football, not in basketball.
Yeah.
It was crazy.
We're down there, hammered drunk.
Now, I love you guys.
I want to let you know.
I love you guys.
I know.
I got it.
But boy, you guys stayed in Indiana.
Yeah, look at his end.
It was crazy over here in Indiana.
It was.
It was a crazy thing that was happening.
It was a freight train.
Can you tell me a little bit about Signetti?
Your thoughts on kind of him as a person that's been around a lot of the great coaches
who operate in different fashions.
What did you,
kind of learn about SIG and have you really looked into who he is as a person or as a coach at all?
I think just from afar, I don't know him personally, but, you know, just admiring how he handled
his team. And, you know, he certainly breeds confidence into those guys. And a lot of times,
as we know, in the game of football, especially with young players, if they can just get that
little bit of confidence, you know, you see that light go on and then they believe and they get that
belief and then they're rolling. And you felt that. You felt that in that team. They were
tough enough, mentally tough enough. They had a game earlier in the year. I think it was Penn State,
right? And went down and were able to. Yeah, last drive. Yeah, kind of
all that stuff so you knew it was going to be that 60 minute type of game tell me about saying seeing
him in practice what he's like he throws a good ball yeah he does he's a great kid and um
probably early on we were so by the time we had training camp i was like okay we're spinning the wheel
and see what what he's got so trying to win camp a little bit but um he's so compase he's i would go
pre-pract you know they're stretching and and um sunny would be on one side you know and then
a couple of the defensive guys ran and i'd walk up and be like hey sonny what are we looking at you
want to go double mug do you want to go five down six down and just kind of but julian was like
he just wanted to go compete and I'd love to watch his development reading coverages seeing those
different looks and see in fronts and you know hopefully that's what kind of got him a little bit of
confidence got him going early in the season and he was great oh having jeremiah smith too is he as an
NFL guy going to college seeing jeremiah smith on the field do you immediately think like oh 2008 randy
moss yeah i mean you immediately go can he pass rush because he's
And my defensive
He can.
And I'm like, hey, good for you on offense.
But like, I think can I borrow?
Give me a third down package.
Yeah, let me borrow him for a little while.
Because he's huge.
That'd be huge.
And then we had, you know, obviously, Tate on the other side.
And you're going, all right, what do we do now?
So he is, Jeremiah's unbelievable player, person, all of it.
I'm super excited.
We need to win some games next year.
But then for the future, super excited for him.
He's going to be great.
Indiana is still here, bud.
Reloaded.
Reloaded.
Go ahead, Tom.
No, you were just talking about competing in practice.
Are you excited to compete with Artie Smith?
I mean, obviously Arthur's great.
You know, a couple NFL guys?
Yeah, going head to head.
You know what's been fun just him coming in and seeing his kind of excitement for, you know, the college game
and watching him look at our guys and figure out what are we going to do next year and his offense installation?
So I'm sure it'll probably get pretty cranked up here.
NFL guys going to college.
You guys are sick.
singing voice memos to recruit guys.
Are you still doing that?
You know, like how?
Yeah, I don't think I'm singing, man.
I just...
We'll see how good the player is.
Yeah.
Wait until that first time I do, you're going to be like,
on the phone right away.
You're going to be like, hey, you said you were...
What is this shit?
Dan, no one wants to see that.
That's not...
Luckily, recruiting has changed a little bit, too.
Can you tell me about that?
Because obviously, Bill goes to college,
and now you got Artie and you're in college,
and there's more NFL guys coming down to college.
I think...
And then there was old school college guys
are like, get me the hell out of this.
Halfly.
Yeah.
Halfly.
Coach Saban, I think, would even be like, I've done enough here.
I think it's a different game.
Now I'm going to go try to do something else.
Can you tell me about the current college model as an NFL guy that maybe either makes it
easier for the transition of NFL coaches going back to college or if it's just more
inducible for it nowadays than it was before?
Like, what are your thoughts on that?
Yeah.
I think one of the things at college that became really interesting for both, you know, probably
Bill and myself, was just.
the ability to actually build a roster fast, you know, because of the portals and that way that that
was all working, you can change guys out. We had a big portal year this past year, too. I think we had
50 new guys coming in, including the portal guys. So it's wild, but you can get those players
a lot faster and be competitive a lot quicker. So I think that part of it for the NFL guys are
obviously intriguing from that standpoint. So you guys still just got a money train coming over there
in Ohio stand? I saw some stuff. So I know. I saw you and Bob.
carpenter out on cruise so you guys raising money it does feel like ohio state though will always be a
place that it's like ohio state's always going to be a wagon ohio states are always going to be a wagon
you go into college had to be a place like ohio state i assume yeah definitely you know you want to be at the
highest level the most competitive level and you know love to coach love to teach we're competitive though
we want to win so uh being lucky enough to be at a place like ohio state where you can do that was uh yeah
it was kind of a no-brainer good what's it's been like it's been cool to see you i could bring your family
around. It seems like you, I don't know, it just seems fun for you. And your relationship with all the players, you see you hugging pregame and during, like I just seem like you have a great relationship. It seems like, I don't know, just a little different atmosphere for you as a coach. And second, side note, I just, what is it your little band says crush everything? I just want to explain that a little bit. Yeah. That's actually, that's, that's, one of my, that's actually one of my military buddies that started a company. And that was kind of just his, his mantra. Every single day. Every single day. He would be the.
Navy.
Navy.
Yep.
Some of those special guys that would do a lot of things overseas to help us out.
Oh, not an honor, but a seal?
Yeah.
Yeah, they do crush everything.
Pretty big, hey, I don't know what's going on right now.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's actually where the beard started.
People, I told that story kind of just recently, like everyone asked about the beard.
And it was those guys, you know, such a special community of men, you know, that would go.
And you know how it is.
Like, you just get a phone call.
2 o'clock in the morning. It's like, I got to go. And you're kind of like, yeah, okay, I'll see you when I see you. You know, you just don't know. And one of my buddies who was going over and he just called and he's like, hey, I got to go. But you know they're always watching, right? You know they're always kind of, and they were big Patriots fans. I was at New England. And they're always checking the scores. And that's kind of one of the ways they lift their spirits up. And they would all come back and they'd have these huge beards. And I was like, I'm not, I'm not shaving until you get back. Actually, 2011, we played the Super Bowl here. And so it was a longer season for us. And by the end of the year, my beard.
was it was out there.
It was out there.
But that was just so those guys knew, you know, when they were overseas and they were checking
home, checking scores, and seeing us, hey, man, we're thinking about you guys and just get
home as fast as you can.
So that's actually where the beard started.
I think it's a good look for you.
Yeah.
By the way, not only good look for you, I see your ozone picking.
Yeah.
Slim.
You do.
You look good, dude.
Thank you.
You know, sleep is actually, it actually works.
It's actually good.
Working out apparently is important.
Eating right is apparently.
You know, Taco Bell at 11 o'clock at night is not good for me.
Well, it depends on the moment.
Yeah.
It's pretty good.
Listen, nothing better than like, here, go buy out whatever's left.
So I had some booze.
I had some booze last night.
First time, long time, did some booze in last night.
Good times.
Jesus.
Ran into you, obviously.
Last night was awesome.
You have, I don't know how many drinks you have.
And then all of a sudden, the next decision is like, well, I'm kind of hungry right now.
You're scrolling DoorDash?
Yeah, but then there's pizza available.
And that rolls into the next.
day.
Yeah, and then I wake up this morning.
There's waffles up here.
I'm like, I'm hung over.
It's like, man.
I had waffles for breakfast.
I might as well eat, like, shit the rest of the day.
I'm already in it, so let's just keep it.
It was like, now it's Saturday.
Isn't it crazy, though, how, like, one decision can, like, kind of change everything.
Then you've got to be tough enough to make that opposite decision.
It's it.
You got to get, you got to get back into that structure, man.
I don't know what I'm going to get there.
Because right now, I'm telling you, this body was not meant at this.
to drink what I drank last night okay it is not getting that sauna yeah sweat it out
there it is I'm on under 175 degrees right at it okay yeah I need to get it you
doing that shit yeah absolutely sauna sauna boxing a lot of boxing
virtual reality or actual actual with who dudes or no back you know so go to class
facility did it oh yeah I used to go to class a great place would go boxing the
morning like five o'clock what do you got a big overhand right what's the big
I mean, the one, I can actually throw hands.
That's kind of not real fighting, though, because the funniest thing is, I used to do that
when I was little at the Y, and then I got, you know, head gear, the whole thing, and then
I got hit.
And I was like, I don't like this anymore.
I'm like, I got head gear on, and I was like, I am ringing right now.
I was like, I'm not taking the headgear off.
I was scared.
So I was just kept in with the workout because it was so much fun.
But, you know, just hitting the bag, kind of working that.
But one time we were coaching late, so, you know, it gets late.
You're like, hey, check out these reality goggles.
You can box.
You can get, you know, do the boxing thing.
Oh, yeah.
So we're.
Thrill of the fight.
Yeah.
So we're in there, and you're watching your buddy throw these haymakers.
And I'm like, if we ever got a fight, we're dead.
Like, we can.
This is the worst thing I've ever seen right now.
You know, I'm like, so we think so.
No, man, no.
I'm out.
Thrill of the fight on meta.
Yeah.
You should get in.
I got to check that one out.
Yeah, because everything about it is, they got the, I think it's called the physics.
Yeah, the physics.
I believe it's called the physics.
They have the physics figured out where you're certainly fighting like a robot or a series of robots.
Right.
But they are actually hitting you and there's real movement.
The head keeps up with it.
And right hand does land.
Really?
And left hand lands.
And like it feels, yeah.
Yeah.
It was my workout for any time I had a wrestling match.
Yeah.
I would be in virtual reality.
Chuck Pagano almost died.
Yeah, we always killed.
Coach Pagano.
Yeah.
Hasn't even enough?
Can we just
Can we just?
Come on me.
We didn't think about me.
That was our fault.
He got three, five-minute rounds.
Like, he wouldn't quit.
It was wild.
Five-in-air.
Yeah, he, on air.
He picked it.
He doesn't go.
We do.
Like, right now, we'll, in the facility,
even Ohio State,
CJ and I will go in.
We'll do like a minute.
We'll do like a minute rounds.
I'm like, done.
Dead tired.
Yeah, there is.
There's Chuck.
He's fighting.
You can see him in the bottom right.
That's Ugly Joe right there.
That's Ugly Joe.
That's the first fighter you take on.
And I'll tell you what?
Ugly Joe, Kid Joe.
He's got a real chin this guy.
Just go down.
Chuck actually looks good.
He's got some.
Oh, that would be.
No, not that.
Chuck's Italian.
Yeah, yeah.
So he's been in there before.
Ugly Joe did almost kill him at the Thunderdown.
And you're right.
Leukemia didn't get him.
He had a couple broken bats.
He sent us his Peloton, by the way.
He's had 407 straight weeks.
Yeah, he's a legend.
Dog.
Yeah, he absolutely is.
All right, Coach, last question for you here from an Iowa Hawkeye, Ty Schmidt.
Yeah, you mentioned, like, when you went back to college, it had to be a place like Ohio State and everything gets so overblown in terms of, hey, the worst part for NFL guys is, like you have to recruit, you have to recruit your entire team every single year, especially at a place like Ohio State where you're getting, you know, 45-star guys.
Do you have to be cognizant of that at all?
Like, I mean, obviously this year, you got four guys who might get picked in the first round,
but is it tough when it's like, hey, if I don't get this guy some burn, like, there's a good,
and he could be, he's just a little raw right now, but he could be, you know, an All-American in a couple years.
But if we don't get him out there, like, he's going to transfer.
Like, is that something that you constantly have to kind of mess around with,
or is that one of those things where it's like, if you get too caught up in that,
then you're kind of just fucking yourself.
Yeah, it's a really great question.
I think for us what we really tried to do was just get the young guys out there
because it's important for their development.
Not necessarily worry about, you know, somebody not getting playing time,
but they've got to go get the reps.
You know, you just, that's the only way you can get better, you know.
For us in our sport, it's different than basketball, baseball.
Like, you play games in basketball and baseball and can get better.
We only have so many opportunities.
So it's either practice and then those live game reps,
if you can get those young guys in, maybe over a course of four or five weeks,
you can build up 50, 60 reps so that later in the season,
which now college football is much longer,
and that guy has to go play, he's had that game experience.
So it's more of that, I think, is really important for us to make sure those guys are ready to go if that happens.
How tough is it for you, NFL people, to just realize that the Big Ten is, it's the one now.
Yeah, I mean, it's not tough for me.
I'm in the Big Ten.
I think I'm all right.
You know.
Yeah, but you're friends in the big.
No ones that are walking around here.
Because I think it's hard for media people to buy.
Like, I think it's hard for some media people to buy into Mendoza because he was Indiana.
He was Cal.
So it's just like your natural, stubborn.
It's like winning the combine, too.
Yeah, it's like, I'm not doing that.
I think for the NFL, I would say this, for how many every years, 20, whatever, plus years I was in it.
You know, the NFL is not full of five stars.
It's not full of, you know what I mean?
It's full of two stars, three stars, guys that battle, guys that compete.
Certainly on New England, we had our starting right card, Steve Neal, never played college football.
Legend.
Right.
One of the best guys ever, amazing, but never played.
We had Chris Hogan played lacrosse.
So I think when you get to the NFL, everyone's just realizing it's what you do in the NFL more than anything.
Chris Hogan, I think Handball, getting ready for the Olympics.
Really?
Is he really?
That's great.
So he has sent a couple messages to a couple different people around me.
Okay.
I try to be very difficult to get to.
I don't check DMs.
I try to be very hard to get to.
No, you're great.
You text me back right away.
I'm a big fan of yours.
I'm a big fan of yours.
And if I don't, just know you're not the only one.
Okay, and I did see it.
Okay, I did see it.
I kind of have the same philosophy.
What's good.
And then everyone gets on me because I don't have an iPhone, right?
So I'm still low.
Don't fucking need.
Yeah, that's it.
I get to like, you're green.
Don't text me.
Actually, I will never fucking respond.
But I think he's getting into handball.
That's awesome.
I got numerous people that are like, hey, you guys have talked about handball on the show a lot
because we've said that if America was put together an actual team of handball,
sorry, world.
We're winning another one.
And that's like how it is.
Could you imagine Lamar, Stafford?
Yeah.
I mean, Baham's, Josh.
Any of these wide receivers that have can't, like, O'Dell Beckham Jr.
could throw the ball like 100 yards.
Right, man.
Charmiss Landry.
Like any of these guys, if we were to play your sport for four weeks and they were to learn the rules.
Yeah.
And then they would get in there.
Yeah.
We would win.
America.
And it's a great sport.
Yeah.
Handball is a incredible.
We love it every time the Olympics come around.
There's like, like,
and like, strategy.
But we've never really gotten into it.
I think Chris has kind of taken in one of the greatest athletes we have.
I think, allegedly, I don't know.
This is just from messaging from other people.
Wrong Chris Ogan.
What do you mean?
A different Chris Hogan?
A different Chris Hogan?
I refuse to believe it.
The lacrosse guy, Chris Hogan's doing.
Hey, it doesn't matter.
Let's get Chris.
Let's get him out there.
Let's just get him going.
We'll get him now.
Hey, Chris.
Chris, start going.
We just pumped you up.
You better start practicing.
Hey, start throwing, bro.
Well, let's go.
Matt, we're ending our time here at the Combine,
alongside of you. We appreciate you stopping by. I'm thankful that you joined us. Maybe this becomes
an annual tradition as the last person we talked to here. That would be amazing. You know how much
I appreciate you guys and I'm so thankful to be here. Okay, we're going to need a little speech here
in a second. Boys in the truck, great work. Great boys. Great work this week, boys. Barcode and team.
Great work on the setup. Unbelievable stuff here. Obviously, you're all going on. We appreciate the hell out of you
guys. I got that for you. Wow. Wow.
Oh, Taekonda.
Custom.
Custom.
Will you sign that?
Do you do the internet?
Custom.
You know what?
I mean, I love Taekondiroga number two's, but why couldn't it have been like Rolexes?
Like, I get pencils.
It could be.
All the time.
I should have, I really should have gone Rolexes.
That's awesome.
But defend the shoe.
There you go.
I don't know how you need to start calling plays maybe with a Rolex.
Just flashing.
Maybe a hand signals.
Maybe start doing the shit more.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We could do this.
We could come up with a bunch of hand signals for defensive calls.
And like, it's a new Rolex.
I was a little.
I got my Boston Scali caps going with Ohio.
Do you guys still signal stuff in with the green dots still?
Yeah, you know, that's probably a big adjustment in college.
Why you still do signals?
I have the same question.
Secondary?
I have the same question.
I'm like, you got a speaker.
Well, maybe they're not.
Okay.
Look over here.
Maybe it's nothing.
Yeah, don't look here, look there.
That was probably a big change.
Hey, Signetti was listening.
You just gave it away.
We're not falling for shit.
I mean, of course he was listening.
Before we get out of here and before we get, I believe
Sodexo wants to bring us
this has become a new thing.
This is become a new thing.
We do shows at these stadiums.
Sports fun.
Cedexo has like a lot of these stadiums.
Somebody at Sodexo is a fan of the program
and they always just send us all the food from the stadium.
Is that up here on the stairs?
I don't know who exactly this is.
It's a very cool looking chef who's bringing us some stuff.
I'm Italian, so this is right up my alley right here.
You guys are you full pies on?
What are you?
There's a little bit of mix in there, but 90s.
Northern Italy?
No, no, no.
Start over there.
No, no, no.
Start over there.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, my gosh.
This is going all down my shirt.
Thank you so much.
Thank you very much.
Oh, and then we got Marks.
Chef, chef, chef.
Is there alcohol these?
Okay, good.
What is these?
Oh, yeah.
Thank you, sir.
What are these here?
Wow.
You can eat it?
This is.
Okay.
Can you put that up on your,
that's, that's tequila.
for sure.
And Nick, can we get the handheld, please, turned on?
Pat, this will help you out, buddy.
What is this, a mark?
Yeah.
Holy shit, I don't know.
Amagi.
Right back in it, pal.
Cheers to you.
I'm pretty hungover.
This is going to help.
All right.
Can you turn on the handheld mic, please, Nick?
Go ahead, sir.
Can you talk?
Can you, so what is the sandwich here?
And are you serving here?
I don't think I fully understand this set up here at the combine.
Yeah, we are doing full suite service for all the teams.
And then we have ancillary catering for the medical staff, the players.
and anybody else involved in this.
So for this sandwich, this is something so...
Look at this guy.
No, I'm talking to the truck.
They have something wide open in my ear back there.
They have a microphone just blaring in my ear.
I think it was a show from earlier before.
Currently in my right ear.
In my left ear, thank you so much for turning that off.
Chef Dave in my left here.
I didn't hear a word you said,
but I heard you're doing a lot of incredible things for people.
We appreciate you taking care of them.
And I also appreciate the fact that anytime we're in a CEDexo stadium,
you guys bring us the absolute greatest stuff.
We try to.
Yeah, so thank you so much for that.
Absolutely.
Have an incredible weekend, and is this, this is going to be the most delicious thing I've ever
banked.
Oh, yeah, it is so good.
It's ball.
What is this?
It's really good.
It's like brisket.
It's a house smoke short rib.
Home smoked short rib.
Halepino Fresno slaw.
Oh.
Crispy onions.
Yeah.
A little bit of that slough.
A little bit of special sauce.
Chef Dave's?
Chef Dave's special sauce?
Absolutely.
Okay.
We're learning a lot about each other.
It's fantastic.
It's so good.
Yes, chef.
Thank you, chef.
Yes, chef.
Thank you, chef.
You ought to bear, chef?
Behind.
Thank you so much, chef.
Thank you so much, chef.
Thank you for everything.
We appreciate the hell out of you, brother.
We'll see you soon.
Thank you so much for everything.
Cedexo is very good.
Coach, how do you feel about it?
Pretty good.
How do you like that?
This is good.
This is good.
This is what we're talking about here.
This is a bad decision.
Coach, if you were to draft a Ohio State player first,
which one would it be?
All of them.
player do you like the most? See, this is the good part because everyone asked me that question.
I said, fellas, that's why I'm not into it.
I can take as many as I want. So we're just going to get them all.
All right. That's unbelievable. That's unbelievable. I don't know how to eat it.
I know.
Serious question, though. How do you feel about teams moving R.V.L. to strictly on the ball, edge?
You know, obviously whatever scheme they're running, but I think the good thing that he was
able to show, and a lot of those, our guys this year is being able to play in those multiple
positions, he can play on the edge. He, I mean, watch some of his edge.
edge-setting stuff with its right ends and it's a joke how good it is it's you know we're
bobbleheading the edge of outside arm free i try to teach a little third and fourth
graders that but unfortunately they're not exactly strong i try to teach my kids that too and they don't
it's not yeah come on guys just watch it just do what he's doing that do what this guy's doing
what's so hard about yeah exactly yeah because i'm your dad that's why and you're not going to be
able to do that uh tom great work this week buddy you too brother thank you
how bad tie great to see you we love you man great to enjoy that enjoy the sandwich at
is delicious if you're able to get to it.
Boston Conner, go ahead and see you, buddy.
Good to see you, man.
AJ, thank you for traveling over.
Good luck to your boy.
Thank you.
Good luck to Hendrits.
Oh, no, he's gone.
No, he's watching the, there are guys in the field.
He's losing his mind if he can see Caleb Downs.
It feels like, hey, he's got a size 11 shoe.
He's 13.
He's obviously son of A.J. Hawk.
If you would just like to offer him a scholarship,
might as well offer.
His head, he's getting hard.
I still knocking his forehead, and that's not hard enough.
He's not joking.
His nose doesn't have a bump on it yet either.
Okay. He's playing flag.
He's a great kid. I love him. Love him to death. I don't know.
But I'm just saying. His head just needs to get harder.
Matt, thank you so much for joining us.
All right. Be a friend. Have an incredible weekend.
We'll see you on Monday. We'll be in Arizona with Team USA baseball for their first training.
As the World Baseball Classic throws its first pitch next Friday for the United States of America, we are loaded.
Team USA is loaded. All the boys of USA baseball are playing.
In this World Baseball Classic, from our experience of covering sports on a daily basis,
This will become a huge thing, just like what we saw, especially coming fresh out of the Olympics.
Japan has all their, Dominican has all of their players playing.
They're going to need it.
And it's the first time, long time, from my understanding that America has everybody.
We're talking Judge, Bryce, Paul Skeen's.
Eric Scooble.
Bobby Witt, Jr.
Yeah, everybody, I think, is playing for America.
And we're going to get a chance to see them all.
And there's a chance maybe even, I take Kershaw fucking five.
500.
What?
Okay.
There's a chance.
I mean, there's a chance for anything.
There's a chance.
Kirschaw takes me 600 feet.
I think we're going to be out there on Monday.
We can't thank you enough for allowing us to do this for a living.
Be your friend, tell a friend something nice and might change your life.
We're in this thing together.
Coach Patricia has last thought for us here as we head into the greatest weekend of all time.
Yeah, you know, just I always go back to with our guys and our team, gratitude.
Let's just be grateful and appreciative for everything that we got.
And I'm so thankful for you guys having me on.
We appreciate the hell out of you.
Team, have a great weekend, dude.
Thank you.
And good luck through Springball and everything like that.
Sick Natty's coming.
Have a great weekend, everybody.
We appreciate you all so much.
Team on me, team on three.
One, two, three, team.
Goodbye.
