Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to our humble abode, the Draft King's Thunderdome. On this monumental overreaction Monday, June 1st, 2026, this program begins now. Force. Are the absolute greatest, and we're so incredibly lucky that we get a chance to chat about them. then they move into Daily Fantasy, then they get into sports gambling, now they're getting into predictive markets, now they have casinos as well. Jason Robbins kind of been through it all. So we've watched from afar, obviously they're a New England-based company, we've watched from afar on what they did. We've seen them steal a couple of our promos. Obviously, we looked and saw what they were doing as well, We are honored to be working alongside the top at Draft Kings.

Everybody we've met there has been fantastic. And hopefully we'll be able to make sports a little bit more fun. And hopefully we'll be able to continue to contribute to a society thing that is taking place right now, which is smart gambling as opposed to stupid gambling. So if you're under 21, can't do it. I think it's like 16 million something. They'll still have like 27 million in dead cap, but it wouldn't be 43, which would have happened if he was to be traded before today at 4 p.m. He'll become an after 4 p.m. today. So it saves the Eagles money. And allegedly you're not even allowed to discuss anything. Nope. Okay, we'll change it.

You can't even discuss it. So maybe they're hammering the phones now. Maybe the offers are already ready. Ian Rappaport of NFL Network's senior insider fame. junior NFL inside of ESPN fame. He reported that what he was hearing is the Patriots weren't willing to give up a first round round pick for A.J. Brown.

Then there was conversation that maybe the Rams were about to make a play for A.J. Brown. Now we're post-J. 1. Now it's about to be 4 o'clock. Schefter was on get-up this morning. He said within the next 24 hours, AJ Brown's going to be a patriot. We'll ask him if there's a chance he could be anywhere else. As Connor celebrates, good for them. Let's go to one half of the Hammer.

Cowboys AP Tone. Tone, listen, whenever it comes to Hammer, you guys are giving out a lot of picks. Now we're back in the, hey, we're going to get it broadcasted and promoted out there. We know what can come with that. We can get our asses beat, okay? We can lose publicly. We can get shamed, ridiculed.

But what we do know is we're going to be trying to take advantage of Draft Kings every possible way. We're going to be looking into every line that we can take their money. He is unique in a way that we have never ever seen on the basketball court. Taking down SGA and OKC, obviously they were dogs in that series and they got it done. They are now favorites heading into the championship, the NBA championship, the finals, if you will. Four and a half in game one. Now, I have a stat. Teams that are coming off of a game seven win going. going against teams that are going coming off of a sweep. That would be the Knicks are three and 14 straight up.

So what does that mean? That means the spurs in this situation, teams in this situation have gone three and 14 straight up against the Knicks in this situation. So that's something to watch for game one. Maybe wait until game one to take the spurs because that minus 200 that they are for the series. If they do lose game one, we'll come down.

We'll get to be in nice manageable, maybe minus 125 situation when you come to game two. But no, I would maybe hesitate because the Knicks, they did have to come back from a 22. 4th quarter deficit in game one of the last one, rest first rest, but we will see here against the Spurs. Yeah, and the Knicks have won by like 30 or something in like 11 straight. I mean, it's being absolutely outrageous, the buzz saw. But as Draymond Green say, he's the East. See, he said that pretty emphatically.

Now, we had to look up, you know, as the East won a title, like in the last 10 years, yeah. Yeah, there's been a lot of different teams that have done it. There's actually interesting stats going around. Hembo dropped this one. I think it's the eighth different champion that they've had in eight season. The 20 seasons previous to that, they only had eight. So now you would say, obviously, the parody of the league and being able to build up different teams. And obviously, the finals being different to last three years, definitely all six teams changing is great for the league. Your thoughts on this finals says, we have massive New York City and New Jersey in surrounding area taking on San Antonio in Texas.

And I think a lot of new fans, okay, especially with how he was. getting treated in that last series, guy who's going to beat. I think Wemby, big-time baby face. I think Wemby, big-time baby face. I think a lot of United States of America, they should obviously know about him, but he's still relatively new to maybe a lot of folks. They're going to watch this guy and fall in love with him. And then New York, people already have a natural hatred for, like, the big city,

you know, if you don't live there. I think it's setting up for good storylines, great ball, and maybe some historic basketball and hoops that we might be a part of one of those nights deep. Yeah, I think it's going to be great. You're talking about the NBA having those different. champions. Like that's what every league, you know, major league is sent it. They're chasing the parody and kind of making it even. And, you know, Adam Silver has made some huge changes with the draft going forward as well. And I love it because you're going to the playoffs and you really don't

know who's going to come out on either side. But yeah, the Knicks have been absolutely dominant. Everybody, you know, has kind of been rooting for them and saying, hey, this is the year, this the year. So to finally see them get back. And not only get back and get out of the east, like Draymond said, yeah, it's the east, but they've been dominant. Tone talked about having to come back from the calves that being down 22 points. Once that happened, I think everybody kind of felt like, okay, I don't know if the calves are even going to get a win, and they didn't. So they've taken care of business, and they're on the other side.

The Spurs, they had the battle. You had to beat. You obviously defend the champs with SGA. SGA gave his best shot at the end. Didn't have enough help. But Wembe, he is a breath of fresh air. Look, the Champions League is over so I can actually talk about him now and not be an asshole. I love this guy.

Who won, by the way. Who won? They won. His team won. He had a nice little French. parlay over the weekend. And if you did that, you got the crown. I obviously did not.

But I love this guy. You can tell just how much he cared. And this is what you always want from like the stars and like the ambassadors of the game. Show that they care. You know, you care. You're only coming out of the West. And yeah, you want to win it all. Jobs not done.

But things that he's done, the things that he's been saying, like you go back to the clip with Brunson, you know, beat him. But then he dropped 61 through his ball in the crowd. Just all of it. And now he's on the biggest stage, biggest moments. It almost feels like the next coming of like what Tim Dunkin Awards for this franchise. Isn't Winby's time now? Is it Winby's

league? You know, we shall see. Yeah, I think we, I think everybody's trying to crown him. Yeah, everybody's trying to crown him. Then Oklahoma City forces a game seven or whatever, and everybody goes, wait, should we crown this guy? They just lost by 27 points in a Western Conference finals. Then he bounces back. Then his mentality is what it is.

If he's able to remain healthy, which they say he's been preparing for his entire life. Mom's 6-4. I think dad's 6-7. I think they knew he was on his way. so they've been taking care of that type of stuff because usually the big man can't hold up. They're trying to take care of that. The pinky on Mitchell Robinson, I think it's going to be okay.

He better play. Hopefully. A lot of people mad about that. That's Wednesday night. Tomorrow night, the NHL. Stanley Cup finals is the Vegas Golden Knights represent the West taking on the Caniaks in Carolina. Ty, your Golden Knights are back in Lordo's dance.

I know you've been dancing in your punch just thinking about Torts' lifestyle, but these caniacs are no joke, brother. No, absolutely not, which was evidenced by the fact that the Golden Knights swept the Colorado Avalanche who won the President's trophy. Everyone thought they were the best team in the league. The Golden Knights are still underdogs. I haven't watched them play for a couple weeks, you know, because they swept, so they've been off. I kind of forgot about them a little bit. But listen, same deal.

The NBA finals are going to be unbelievable, but that's why we have multiple games on multiple nights. If you want to sit in and watch some excellent hockey, even if you don't really understand the sport, what a great way to kind of get your toes wet with a couple of Titans, you know, going for the ultimate prize. in sports Lord Stanley's Cup. That's right. Lordo is certainly a spectacle whenever you see it and lay eyes upon it. You say, wow, that's worth fighting for. Good luck to both of them. I can't help and notice quickly before we moved to some insider information.

You know, we've been talking about that since I've gotten a chance to get onto a microphone, talking about, you know, how the world, outside world, is so much different than what a locker room is. You know, I'm kind of an isolated person, live my life how I live. And like, in a locker room, and I'm not the only person's ever said this, so I don't want to sound like I wrote this thing. But in a locker room, you have so many different people from so many different places. And if you're just travel around the United States of America. I mean, we got like 30 different countries in the United States of America. So many different backgrounds, so many different, you know,

views on life, so many different events that have taken place that kind of shape how people think. So the locker room is a great place to kind of come together. Oh, yeah. You know, focus on one thing and showcase to the world that you can have some disagreements and still get shit done. So I'm happy to see that the Giants are kind of doing that in a public way from sports to society. I think that's a big deal. Yeah, as a team, it's like an organization you always hate when it's like distractions or something, you know, outside of the main goal being focused on or talked about. So, you know, you have the things public, obviously, with Dart, and then Carter coming out saying what he said. And then they hash it out. They had their conversation. And as a

locker room, we're going to have those uncomfortable conversations. Like you said, we kind of always doing to leave. I thought he made a, he had a great take on it as well. Look, everybody's not on the same page. You don't see all those things the same way. But when it comes to our job, that's what we're trying to get done. So yeah, I thought they handled the great. Now, did they handle that softball game. Great. I don't know about that. I like the Patriots one. Drake May Day was great. Hell yeah. The shit I'm seeing from the Giants one.

I think that's an indicator from the person that they feel good about where their recovery is. But after hearing that he had some stiffness and had to get another surgery to clear up some scar tissue,

seeing him run like this, has made everybody scared to death about what Malik Neighbors is going to look like this season. Do you have news to put that fire out or are our eyes telling us the story about what's about to happen here? I think you watch what you watch, you see what you see, and you know that he's trying to make his way back from a second knee surgery that was done to clean up the scar tissue, address some of the stiffness in there. And I think it's a case where the Giants have said all along. They're hopeful. That's the word they've used, Pat, hopeful that he plays on that Sunday night opener against the Dallas Cowboys. But again, I think that they're not. counting on him being ready. And it certainly doesn't look like he's close to being ready.

Yeah, but there's a lot of time. Hold the phone, though. Let's hold the phone, please. Do we think these guys are self-aware enough to know, like, hey, if I'm not going to be ready by season, I shouldn't go and do a public display of this? Like, there's people that are talking to him about whether or not he should be playing this up. There's people talking to Scataboo whether or not he's cleared to do backflips in public spectacles, right? Like, I don't know about that. Like, Malik's got to be self-aware enough to know that, like, hey, I'm going to be healthy for the season. And I can do this without re-injuring myself. It looks like he is very early in a recovery.

Yeah. But that is something that hopefully you're working on every single day. And like you can make big steps in like three weeks, four weeks, five weeks, six weeks of every day doing rehab and stuff like that. I hated seeing it though. Yeah, I mean, you don't want to see your franchise wide receiver doing that, especially if you're on the path of recovery. I'm sure if you're in an ownership level, even like the head coach. Like I know the head coaches we played for. Like, if we saw something, like, what are you doing?

Yeah, okay, neighbors is going to be there. He's not taking a hit. He's not feeling it. He's not doing anything physical. A lot of clapping. God forbid, you just trip over. Or he's got to hit a homer so he can jogger out of bases and not have a bang, bang, play.

Yeah, but let's not pivot on our knee much either. That's a whole other thing. That's why the Patrick Mahomes thing for me was such a big deal. Because golf is so much turning at your, at your baseball, too. That's a lot of knees, you know what I mean? So it's like, as somebody that has had four knee. scopes and everything like that. It's like some of the things that these guys are choosing to do after having knee injuries,

it's like I think they're very confident. I think they are very confident, but this might just be that big gear. I'm not making that. That might be the way that they start viewing that entire thing. Going back to a locker room culture, by the way, you know, that bit far, you know, that whole thing. And that was a great video this weekend. Shout to that kid. I assume he's going to run a team someday.

But I think these guys know that they're going to be okay. Scataboo, completely clear. That's a big time backflip. I mean, 61 for the Giants named... John Michael Schmidt. Schmidt goes, oh, my God, as he's flipping in the air right there. Scadaboo, once again, confident enough to do the backflip, makes me think that he knows his body better than we do.

He's 100% back as well. Are the Giants tighter than they've ever been because the Abdul-Carter Jackson-Dart thing? Are they healthier than we thought maybe they were? They just signed barriers? No, yeah, right? They sent Braxton over Juju Smith-Schuster and O'Dell Beckham Jr. at this. Hold on.

They still could add to that. They still could add more from now with those wide receivers. They might not be done yet. Okay, so multiple guys get signed out of a wide receiver workout. He's John Harbaugh kind of in his bag. How do the Giants feel very positive, I assume, about where they're at, especially with how tight. Maybe they get the early awkwardness out of the way in John Harbaugh's thing

have to come together tighter than they've ever been because how everybody outside was, you know, Harbaugh could certainly say trying to drive us apart right now. That's the exact opposite of what we need. Young team. Vibes immaculate in New York, it sounds like. And you and Renan both say, is it Ju-Ju or O'Dell Beckham Jr.? If O'Dell Beckham Jr. is going back to the Giants, that feels like a big deal.

a later in the day story that two sides as of this weekend had not connected at all in recent weeks. And so it was a situation where they have to come in today, discuss the deal, finalize terms,

as we've said all along, I always thought that that deal would include a first round pick in 2028. We'll see if that's what they settle in on later today. The trade could not be processed until after 4 o'clock today, so I think that's probably a rough time of when this might be coming down later on. But yeah, it's still tracking to happen, and I think in the next 24 hours we'll get A.J. Brown in that jersey you're looking at right there. No other teams? Because wasn't it said that maybe the Rams? were interested this past off season in A.J. Brown, and, you know, I know Stefan Diggs is still out there.

Is it considered Stefan Diggs is going to get signed as soon as the A.J. Brown stuff gets finalized? Like, kind of how do those two tie together? And are there any other teams that could potentially come in and, you know, maybe offer something better than the Patriots could? I don't see that happening. Anything is always possible. But I think this is essentially a one-team race right now. I think it is going to be New England. I think that the two sides have to finalize this trade. and I expect that that will happen and that he'll be a New England Patriot back with Mike Vrable, who he thrived under in Tennessee. Obviously, he's going to want to go play for Vrable again.

Vrable's going to want A.J. Brown again, and I think both sides will get their wish at some point here in the next 24 hours. We remember that draft night whenever A.J. Brown got traded and Vrabs just pushes the chair away from the table, stands up, turns around. Lice, comes back. And then it tightens Vrable-era just kind of slug.

Mary Kay Cabot has tweeted. has tweeted that the trade wins are circulating again around Miles Garrett. First, we had his note and request to be traded. He did not. He got a new contract. And then they revised that contract or reworked that contract, I should say, and people said, oh, that's a lot more tradable. And then nothing happened. And now we hear we are again on June 1st,

and the trade wins are kicking up again for Miles Garrett. Have you heard the same exact things before the Browns are saying that's definitely not happening or anything new around there? Well, again, I would go back to what happened when we initially reported that his contract was reworked. I got a team's calm, and they're like, they're going to trade him eventually. They're going to trade him eventually. That was the opinion of some teams. The Browns all along have been adamant that they're not trading him. So other teams have said at some point in time, they expect him to be traded, and the Browns have said, we're not trading him.

And that's kind of where we're at right now. Very interesting. It's very interesting, obviously, because he's coming off a record-breaking year. obviously in his prime. He's getting paid a lot of money, but a lot of past rushers are getting paid a lot of money now because of the deal that he was able to work with the Cleveland Browns. Shout to the Browns doing that all the time at every position seemingly. Let's move away from there. Let's go to a couple teams that have big days today. Go ahead, D. Bud. Yeah, talking about guys getting paid a lot of money, Dak, Prescott, Joe Burrell, both of their teams,

bangles and Cowboys. They start OTAs today. Any news coming out of either one of those buildings? Well, I would say that with the Cowboys, I'd be surprised if George Pickens were in attendance there today. I know he signed his franchise tender, but it's a voluntary OTA. He still does not have his long-term deal. I haven't heard whether he is or isn't there, but I would be very surprised if he were there. Again, he wants that deal. He wants a deal somewhere, whether it's Dallas or if they're willing to trade him, nothing's happened. So I would think that as long as things are voluntary, he's not going to volunteer to be there.

He's just not going to do those things unless he gets the contract he wants, and that'll be a recurring issue. I would think throughout the off-season here, when there's a mandatory minicamp, he's contractually obligated to be there and would have to be there. Voluntaryotes does not have to be there and would think that he's not going to be there. The Bengals, obviously, a lot of emphasis on their defense during the off-season. They really look like on paper. They've improved that unit.

If Joe Burroughs back, if he's healthy, if he's playing the way that he normally does, this team I would put up against just about anybody. AFC. They are a Super Bowl sleeper in my mind. The schedule is set up favorably. Dexter Lawrence should make a world of difference on this team with plays like that. The pressure he gets up the middle on quarterbacks, that's what he does. And so I think Cincinnati's prime for a big year. Good for them. Good for them. A lot of drama, obviously, around them. And then now it feels like we like their team more than ever. And Tia and Jamar are going to go crazy. Okay, Joe's going to go crazy. Yeah, okay. Who's blocking for him? Who did they add in the O line?

Don't worry about that. It's every year. It's every year with this team. They're probably for a big year. They got a good defense, though. Even though they let go to the guy. They got one guy. That's a lot.

That's a lot. They got one guy. They brought Dexter Lawrence in. He's a good player. Great player. What about this thing? What about this thing? Hey.

I'm a believer in Joey B in the crew over there until we see him inevitably fail again. And if they do, we got to remember only one team wins the Super Bowl every year. Now, will that team be the Minnesota Vikings last week? Ty Schmidt said, and I quote, the football gods will never let the Minnesota Vikings win a Super Bowl in my lifetime. Ty has a question for you, Shefter.

Yeah, and I can answer that. That really wasn't that hot of a take because they haven't won a Super Bowl ever, so before my lifetime as well. So that's nothing crazy. So he kind of left off. Yeah, a little bit. And no, they're not going to win a Super Bowl this year. But Shefti, just curious,

they did hire Nolan Teasley, who was the assistant GM of the Seahawks. What can you tell us about this guy? and also how involved was KOC in this decision? Very involved. Was it on everything. I met all the candidates, big voice. Obviously, he's going to be working closely with Nolan Tisley.

Nolan Tisley had a great reputation in Seattle. I think he was one of those unsung heroes that was involved in everything that that team did that helped them win the Super Bowl title this year. The Seahawks valued him, wanted to keep him. They lose him. They do get back two third-round draft picks now. So we'll see how that works out over time. he goes to Minnesota to become the general manager there.

And look, the Vikings were looking for somebody that had his type of talents that could scout, could help run it for an office. And when you speak to people in Seattle, again, they raved about the work that he had done. And now at the age of 42, he finally gets an opportunity to become a general manager. Congrats to him. He's been there, I think, since 2014. So he was in the rooms or in the building whenever they move on from Legion of Boom, whenever they move on from Russell Wilson,

whenever they move on from Pete Carroll. He was part of all of those types of things. Those are very difficult conversations that somebody who's running an organization has to have and has to be able to do. I'll be excited to see the leeway on what he'll be able to do with this future Vikings roster.

Like, are they going to move on from top, what, 12 pick or something like that in the NFL draft? Will they look Kyle Murray do his thing? Or will J.J. McCarthy come scrapping out like he's... Nope. Nine. Nine, Mike. That's what I'm saying. That's a good point.

I thought it was a great game seven. I think the NBA should be incredibly pumped. But now Wembe is in his first finals.

What should we expect out of this series? And what are you looking for out of Wembe to maybe cement the next crown on his head already? Well, I expect another seven game series. We're talking about two great teams that are playing at a high level. One team is super physical and they don't give a damn who's standing in front of them. That's the San Antonio Spurs. This is not the old Greg Poppovich, Tim Duncan, David Robinson type spurs where they just kick your ass quietly.

These San Antonio Spurs, they kick your ass and they loud about it. They're going to let you know. They're going to talk noise. They're going to rub their feet all over your carpet in your arena. Or the door dash on your credit card. And it's cool. This is what they own. And I respect it.

Did you see the end of the game? Dunk by Vassel when everybody was like, oh, sportsmanship, sportsmanship, respect, respect. No, they get disrespectful. Then you have the Knicks, on the other hand, that are playing the best basketball offensively and defensively in the entire NBA led by Big Body Bronson. This is David and Goliath. Right? This is 75 Winby going against 6-1-662 Big Body Brunson. I mean, I couldn't ask for anything better.

I'm expecting 15 to 20 million viewers on these NBA finals. I think these NBA finals are going to set a record, an all-time record for its viewership. An absolute spectacle, and I hope that is the case because sports can only provide the magic that is a championship series, best of seven. It's like you're telling a story, and the story is going to be remembered and told forever.

It's just a winding road from New York City, the Mecca to San Antonio with a spectacle. David and Goliath obviously had the slingshot, but what else, DeMle? I love that. Yeah, you talk about David and Goliath and obviously it will be centered around those guys, but in your opinion, Perk,

who has the better supporting cast around them, not only with the players, but even with the coaching staff on the benches? Who, in your opinion, has the better support staff? Is it Brunson or is it Wimby? I got to go with Jaila Brunson. I mean, we're talking. by O'G. G. Ananobe, who's one of the better two-way players in the game.

Carl Anthony Towns is one of the most skilled bigs to ever play the game. He's playing some outstanding basketball on both ends of the floor. McKell Bridges, talk about founders' experience. He's been on this stage before with the Phoenix Suns. And when you just look at the veterans that they have on their squad, they're just clicking at the right time, along with Mike Brown, who's a two-time champion as an assistant coach

and I love everything about it I voted for him I voted for him for his coach of the year he won't smoke like he wants to smoke you could tell that in his film rooms, he was preaching physicality. When we saw Carter Bryant have his two moments against SGA, yeah, and gave him them two,

yeah, I'm here and it is what it is. Yeah. That's an extension of your coach. And I love everything about it, but if I had to get a slight edge to someone, I'm going to give it to the New York Knicks because of the veterans that they have and the experience that they have on this stage. potentially being disrupted or completed completely. Go ahead, Ty Schmidt. Yeah, big perk. Seeing as how the Thunder have a bunch of guys that they, you know, they're going to have to make a lot of decisions and they're trying to get under, you know, whether it's the first apron, second apron, all that, mumbo, jumbo.

They have another lottery pick somehow. How different do you expect this Thunder team to look next year? And do you think this kind of version of this dynasty, if you will, is over? I believe it should be over. I believe when you, going into the all season, the Oklahoma City Thunder are eye candy. They have a lot of attractive pieces that a lot of teams want, whether there's draft capital or two-way players.

They have a lot of guys on their bench, Aaron Wiggins, uh, Kaysen Wallace. you know, all of these guys are starters on any other team. It's hard to come across two-way players. Now, they have some, Sam Presti have some big decisions to make. Obviously, you have Luke Dort. He's on a, he got a team option, Azele Hardinstein team option.

And then the biggest decision for Sam Presti is, what do you go do with Chad Hungry? After he folded like clean sheets in these conference finals. What are you going to do? about him. See, people think that I'm being harsh on check and I'm just tripping and I'm overreacting

when I'm telling them that the San Antonio I mean that the Oklahoma City Thunder needs to trade him. But I'm watching the game and I'm watching a guy play with no passion no heart and he was scared. I'm watching it

as if I was watching a boxing match and I'm saying, okay, game one they came out, they jabbed you. Okay, game two, you got jab again. Not when you get hit with the upper cut and you get hit with overhand rights and body shots. At some point, are you going to swing back? Are you going to swing back? At what point are you going to put your hands up and say, you know what?

I'm going to protect myself. If I'm going to get my ass kicked, I'm going to get my ass kicked with me swinging. At no point throughout the course of this playoffs did Chet swing. I was over the fact after game two that he was. wasn't going to try to guard wimby. Okay, kudos to Azele Hortonstein and Jalen Williams. But then when the Spurs started disrespecting

him by putting smaller guards on him offensively, and he couldn't take advantage of that. And then defensively, it wasn't just wimby every now and then that was either putting him on the poster or taking them to the basket when he did guard him.

It was the smaller guards that was tomato chest in him and putting them in the basket. And I'm saying to myself, I'm like, damn, Chad, you're a first time all-star. You're a third team all-NBA. And you go out on your home court, and you have two field go attempts. Two, you have two field go attempts in zero in the second half. And when SGA was looking for his robbing, no J-Dubb.

The point that you're not even being aggressive was disturbing to me. And if I saw it, Sam Presti Damn Show. saw it and the rest of his guys saw it. Y'all remember what happened in the locker room when, I mean, the post-game interview I think it was out the game for when they asked SBA

Doing something for the city of New York, the Knicks could potentially bring everybody together. in a landmark celebration that would certainly be warranted of documenting. And then Wembe in the Spurs, this could be the beginning of the end for everybody else.

You're trying to find another Wembe, I guess. You're trying to find a team that is like perfectly humble to understand the reality of the situation. I mean, this has been something that they've been a part of. They traded obviously for Matthew Stafford. They get them in here. They brought in O'Dell Beckham Jr. They bring in Devante Adams. They're not scared to bring in stars and try to go ahead and win something and sell the appeal of Los Angeles.

Vers was a young stud for that Los Angeles Rams team, and now they bring in the man who has the most sacks, ever recorded in one NFL season. I love the move for the Rams. Obviously, the Browns have had to say publicly a couple different times, we're not trading them. Now they have traded them. And it's June 1st, 2026.

I assume this will be deemed a post-June 1 designation. Yeah, because when they reworked his contract, this was the day that it would, similar to A.J. Brown situation, this would be where they can do it and not destroy their cap and everything. So all the reporting around the re-de- due of the deal was accurate. Yes.

Whenever they redid the deal, everybody around the NFL, us included, were like, wow, that sounds like they're doing that to trade. That sounds like they're trying to trade Miles Garrett. Okay, so tell me about Miles Gapton. Garrett, okay, going to Los Angeles. Whenever they redid his deal, however long ago that was, we all reacted the same way. That seems like they are trying to make it more tradable. They said, no, now we have it. Has teams known that Miles Garrett was tradable as soon as that deal was kind of redid? And how do we get here with the Rams, Shifty? Well, there is a long, convoluted backstory to all this, which is obviously still being finalized.

but when the Browns redid Miles Garrett's deal, there were people that suspected at that time that this paves the way for the Cleveland Browns to trade Miles Garrett. And I truly believe, I know, that when the Browns redid that deal, the idea was to reconfigure the way and time in which they paid option bonus payments. Now, most fans don't care about when option bonus payments are paid, but the way it was set up in Miles Garrett's deal was the 15th,000,

day of the new league year in mid-March. They pushed it back to a week before the start of the regular season. Once they did that, it created more flexibility to trade them. And so that was a big deal to a lot of teams. In fact, I had a couple of teams call me and say, they're going to trade them. They're going to trade them eventually. The Browns were adamant all along. Like I told you an hour ago, we're not trading.

We're not trading them. But the Rams began pursuing Miles Garrett. They kept pursuing Miles Garrett. They didn't stop pursuing Miles Garrett until they were eventually willing to include Jared Verse in the trade. Once Jared Verse got included in the trade, the Browns were interested. Okay, we get a player now for the short term, and we get draft pick compensation including a first round draft pick in 27.

That we can live with. That we can live with. And Miles Garrett's going to fly to L.A. tomorrow night. The Rams are doing what they do. If you remember, the year before, or the year that the Super Bowl is being played in SoFi, they traded for Matthew Stafford that year. And now, in the year that the Super Bowl is back at SoFi, they're trading for Miles Garrett. Yeah.

A lot of times when older vets, and you can't call them older at 30, but they have shown like signs of possibly slowing down a little bit. I don't see that coming from Miles Garrett. I haven't seen anything on tape that would show me that. So I think it's a gigantic trade for the Rams. I mean, you're right, Miles Garrett's got to be juiced. I hope Jared versus excited Dayton Ohio kid. Like myself, I hope he's pumped to go to the Browns. I think he's going to bring a lot of juice. I think he's going to help that team. And they might surprise some people. this year. But yeah, what a blockbuster trading. And this is one of those that could honestly work out for both teams. It really could. It's unbelievable. And Jared Verst, as great as he is, like, Miles Garrett is still the best in the NFL. So you add, you kind of swap those two out. I mean, that is unfair. If I'm in the NFC West or the NFC, I am bummed out. It's unbelievable. And no disrespect to Jared Verst at all. Great, great young player has

started damn near every game since he stepped into the league. It's been impactful. But for him to be the needle mover or the guy that gets this deal actually done, that's still shocking me. I would expect him and maybe still two or three first round picks we're talking about because Miles Garrett can be in the conversation when he's done of been one of the greatest defensive players of all time. I know he didn't win, but when you look at his numbers and his like sack numbers and pressure

and all this shit, like he will be in that all. conversation. So yes, Jared Verst is a very good young player. It shocks me, like what Sheffty said, like, yeah, they re-did the deal, but once Jared Verst got to the conversation, that really changed things. That's shocking to me. Yeah, they get a couple ones, or they have a couple ones now for the next upcoming draft, and there's some other draft compensation. They said still being figured out. So maybe there will be another one or a two. Maybe that gets tossed in there that we can, you know, because they always have all the value stuff on everything. How do you value a guy who needs a championship?

You know, like, that's what Miles Garrett needs. And he knows that. He typed up that thing. It's not about getting to Canton. It's about winning championships or something. At one point, whenever there was like a leverage negotiation happening with the Browns. So he understands he'll be judge off the championships in which he has won whenever he's done. Now he has all the accolades.

Can he go get a ring? Feels like the Rams might be the place to do it. Congrats to players' perspective. Congrats to Miles Garrett, man. Yeah. This is exactly what Matthew Stafford needed. Cleveland to LA. This is the exact situation

that Matthew Stafford was in. Had all the accolades, had everything, just knew he was going to be judged by the championships. That's all anybody held over his head, even though he had like the most passing guards in a season,

the most passing yards over two seasons, most passing guards over three seasons. He played with a broken neck, broken shoulder, broken ribs. He was considered a guy by all football people, but until he won championships, nobody would take him serious. So he gets straight to the Rams,

wins Super Bowl, and everybody's like, he's got better teeth, but also he's deafened certified first ballot. Hall of Fame are now. Miles Garrett's in the same exact situation. All the accolades, all the sacks, all of this, most in five years, most in four years, most in one year, most in this, just doesn't have a championship. It feels very similar. And he has an impact on a game that I don't think I've seen live in some time. He took over a game against Indianapolis Colts.

How did we get to Miles Garrett being a Los Angeles Ram, Jared Verst being out the door, and this historic trade happening here on June 1st out of nowhere seemingly shrinks? They weren't going to do this trade on June 1st, Pat,

until they told Jared Verst the news. So when it went public with Adam and Ian and Tom breaking it, It was when they finally let verse the news, let him know. They didn't want him finding out on Twitter, and they've learned that before, whether it be the Jared Gough trade or some of others. They want to talk to the player directly, and McVeigh is very clear about that. But talks have been going on for weeks. And I would almost say the selection of Ty Simpson and the hysteria around that,

there was always assurances that there was another deal that was going to be made by the Rams. And that assurance is not just for the fans, but for the quarterback as well, Hey, we're not giving up on this season for you. Don't worry, you're going to get your money, which he did, but we're also going to get you a premier, premier player. And that premier, premier player is a defending sack champion defensive player of the year. And the type of guy that they look at in the same conversation as Aaron Donald is that good and what he can still do at this age.

And Munkin was giving you guys breadcrumbs throughout this entire process saying, I never met him. and I'd like to see him and this was in the works and I think both parties are very happy with the trade. Brown's included as they continue to build around the future and get piece after piece after piece until they can drop that quarterback down at the QB1 spot.

Okay, so they've been talking for weeks trying to get this done. They've kept it quiet so that Jared Verst didn't find out on the internet. He found out directly from the Rams. When was Jared Verst a part of it? Because I believe Schaefter told us that verse being added to the option was basically what kind of,

to move the needle for Andrew Barry to pull the trigger on the trade as a whole. Was there other players being offered up? Was that the first time a player got? Like, how did we kind of get to that? And when did the Rams find out that Verse was potentially going to be traded? Yeah, and that's the hard part about this. You give up a star player like Jared Verst, who's beloved there with the Rams. But both sides had been talking, and I could say it's been weeks.

They've been talking for weeks. And Verst was dropped in there at a certain point where the Browns couldn't turn around and just say no to this. So those conversations were had, and I could tell you, Barry and Sneed and McVeigh and Monkin and, of course, the ownership groups, they have all been lock and key for the most part, saying we're not going to talk about this publicly until it gets over the finish line. But in the last few days, it looked like the finish line was near. And obviously Jared Verse was the tipping point where the Brown said, okay, in exchange we get a guy who is not only a top 20 pick who's gotten better every year, but he could be a super talent in addition to a first round pick.

So this was one where I think the Rams were really pushing it. The Rams were the ones trying to make it, and they continued to knock down those doors. And then at certain point, the Brown said, yeah, this is the best player we've had on defense, maybe in our team's history. But in exchange, we get a guy who's younger, we get a fresh new start, and with an entirely new coaching staff, well, okay, if we're going to make this trade and we're going to do it and get him off the books and let him go pursue his Super Bowl dreams, this might be the perfect trade partner.

Yeah, it's like an exact situation with Matthew Stafford. The NFL obviously put out a stat sheet of Miles. It's ridiculous. I am. It is absolutely ridiculous. This is kind of what it was like with Matthew Stafford in Detroit. You know, this was kind of very similar situation. Had all the records, had all the stats, AP, this, all that.

Didn't have an MVP, obviously, so that was kind of held over his head. But going to L.A. trying to chase a championship, will Miles Garrett do the exact same? And, you know, this is interesting. You talked about how when Ty Simpson got drafted, There was also a mission by the Los Angeles Rams front office and McVade to let Matthew Stafford and the fans know that they're going to try to make a splash to try to win right now. There was conversation allegedly about them maybe being in on AJ Brown earlier in its offseason.

Today was supposed to be the day that we talked about AJ Brown getting traded to the Patriots, but are there any other teams that are potentially involved? And does this mean that Stefan Diggs is probably going to end up with the Rams as what? Like, how do you kind of view, are the Rams done making moves? Do we know? This was the big swing. and I've been doing the Windy Fingers on every show. I've been on saying, hey, McVeigh and Sneed are not done.

Demoff is not done. Those guys don't sleep at night. If you think there was taking Ty Simpson and saying, all right, we're good to go for the start of the season. You don't know how they operate. This is uncover every rock of relief, and especially with Stafford and his window, that, hey, we're going to get him all of support.

I have not heard Diggs. I have not heard, you know, Brandon Ayyuk. I have not heard Dibo, all those names. This was the primary move that the Rams have been focused on executing and getting a once-in-a-generation-type player to go along with Stafford and that offense. And that's in addition to bring it in Trent McDuffie and Jalen Watson, of course, in free agency this year and then the trade for McDuffie. Rams are ecstatic right now. They hate losing Jared verse, obviously, but to pair Miles Garrett with a team that was knocking

on the door and was a couple defensive plays away from a Super Bowl last year, this is the move. And anything else is going to be secondary. I've mentioned the Stafford part of it, because when you have those conversations with Stafford, he could have lost his mind when they took a quarterback in the first round. He didn't. And I think one of the assurances was you're not only going to get paid, you're also going to get another player that's going to be a running mate that gets us over the top, or at least we hope to this offseason. Congrats to Miles Garrett getting into hopefully a championship conversation as well. Is he still his Halloween set up in L.A.?

a different strategy than UCLA, certainly, but maybe everybody else. So they got Kennedy playing like first base, and then they had Terry sick tats, by that. Sick tats. She's pitching lefty in her entire left arm. is just tatted up. I mean, it was a spectacle. She came in, obviously offered a different look, I guess.

Had Texas Tech been doing this all year, they got a two-pitcher rotation? And then for UCLA, did I see 190 pitches or something like that from their pitcher? And she was still hitting 70, 609, 70 way deep in there. What is the pitching game? Some teams have one. Some teams have a few. They keep them on the field so they can

rotate. I don't think I've seen anything like this before. Yeah, I think that's a great question, especially coming from the baseball side. You see starters start the game. and when they come out, they're done. But in softball, we have a deep key flex. So your starter can come out, but she can reenter. And when Kennedy came back and re-endered,

after Terry came in, then they just had Nysia play first base so they could bring her back in. I mean, there was a couple of innings where they both pitched a couple of times in the same inning. And it's to give the hitters a different look. I mean, and we talked about it the other day, Pat, that two arms at this time of year are so much better than one with all the offense and UCLA with, I mean,

what Taylor Tensley did throwing all those pitches. I mean, she has 33 wins on the season. So she's been the workhorse all year. And it was a lot to ask of her. And that last inning that she gave up those couple of runs, I think, you know, she was throwing hard, but just wasn't as sharp. And for Texas Tech to be able to go back and forth with two elite pitchers, that was a difference. Yeah, Kennedy comes in, by the way, in the middle of an inning, a seventh or sixth, throws three straight balls. Terry had just done it. And it's like, oh, wait, did we just walk this thing in the bases low? And then three straight strikes come right afterwards. It was like, ooh, that was a good little story right there that was just told.

And then it happens again. The final Ponchae pitch that she hits there on the bottom, two pitches beforehand called a ball. Exact same spot. It was called a ball like two spots. I thought she walked her. I thought she walked her right here. Instead, it was a complete opposite. I was hooked.

I was completely hooked last night. Yeah, it was absolutely electrifying. And it feels like there's a lot of moxie on these teams. Yeah. You got a lot of moxie on these teams, Conman. Yeah, crowds are also insane too. like even on that UCLA Homer to tie it. That was awesome.

But to your point right there about the pitch is looking similar. Is there any thought, Brittany, about like a possible ABS situation coming to softball or at least college softball and baseball? Is that a conversation at all? Or are they just going to ride and die with Deons forever? You know, that's a great conversation. SEC tournament for baseball actually had ABS this year. So it's the first time we'd seen it in baseball this year.

And I think it went well. I think it'd be really good for us. I think the more it's growing and the more people are invested and we saw how electric ABS created around MLB. So I don't know if we're there yet, but for SEC baseball to do it in their tournament, I think gets the wheels rolling and the conversations to be had because there's so much on the line now with how big the sport has gotten. Yeah, and the investment as well. I mean, I only got to see Oklahoma. I would assume that Texas Tech is doing the same, especially with the roster budget that they've kind of pieced together, bringing in multiple transfers. I believe Terry was from UCLA.

Obviously, Williams was from Florida. Kennedy was from Stanford or something like that. It feels like there's a lot of investment happening in women's softball, and every time I watch it, I enjoy it. And I like the storylines. Go ahead, Todd. Yeah, Brittany, is that maybe one of the – it seems like Texas Tech is kind of rubbing everybody the wrong way.

We saw what happened against Florida and the regionals, and then there was the big brouhaha with Tennessee about the handshake line after the game. Like, are they kind of the villains of kind of? college softball right now because of their willingness to use NIL and they like to have a lot of fun. They flaunt it. They have a lot of moxie. Like how do you think people should look at this Texas tech team? Because it does kind of seem that they are at the center of every kind of controversy or whatever you want to call it in softball right now. You nailed it. They are. And they, their head coach Jerry Glasgow said, hey, we'll be the villains. That's fine. They're embracing this

role. And you know, when you get three All-American transfers in one year, and see a team invest in softball financially like Texas Tech has, people aren't going to like it. People are not going to like when somebody has something that you don't have. And you know what? They do have the moxie, the swag. They're not going to back down from anybody. They're going to speak their mind.

They're going to show it on the field. And, you know, if you can back it up and win ball games, be the villains, be what you need to be. But no, not everybody likes it. It's not everybody's cup of tea. But it does mix for some fun storylines and exciting games. It's good for softball, though, if anybody's investing in it, the more investment, the better.

That came out in federal filing. And it also came out, Shador Sanders, got paid $17.7 million from NFLPA. This is obviously the record, the most amount of money that's ever been, given from an NFLPA licensing deal, I guess. You know, they said a trading card deal potentially built up half of that, okay? The other $8.7 million or whatever the case would be,

would still be like top two, three all time in the history. Travis Hunter had 12.8 million, I believe, in this entire thing. Tom Brady had like nine something. So that's like the top of what NFLPA checks have been in the past. Where's, that's a lot, the NFLPA is driving a lot of money. That is an incredible business model. How much of the NFLPA makeoff it is? If that's what they're given to Shador,

and where is this all coming from? I love it, to be clear. But I have no idea where this money's coming from. I'm very pumped up about the future of the NFLPA if this is going to continue to be the case. No idea, especially because he wasn't top 10 in Jersey sales. I could kind of understand, or at least you could get there maybe, if he was like the number two or three overall selling Jersey,

but he wasn't in the top 10. You mentioned it. I think it was 9.9 or 9.8 million from Panini of America. and then the other things that were mentioned in there were like Madden, the NCAA game was mentioned. And then that's not even including his other endorsements. Like I don't understand how someone who didn't really kind of make any headway in the league just yet. Has that means a fucking needle mover, man.

He definitely is. We are huge fans of Shador. We love the Colorado story. I love transferring in, obviously going to HBCU with your family, putting everybody on. I'm a fan of Shador. That is a lot of money. I'm just saying if the NFL PA is generating that amount of capital just for one player who is not the star of the league. He's one of the stars, but not the guy.

I mean, if the NFLPA is able to generate that type of money, that's good news for the future of the NFL. And for the athletes of the NFL, if the NFL is also activating or acting as like an agency arm for you, bringing money in. It's like if that's one player, that's Shador Sanders. It's crazy to think if they were able to what they'd be able to do with Mahomes or Kelsey in this world, obviously, with how sellable he is. That was just a huge, I was, to take your word from really.

I was gobsmatched when I saw that amount of money because I'm like, where's it all coming from? And is this going to continue? I was too. And you saw his college teammate, Heisman Winner Travis Hunter, been in number two with the crazy number as well. But that was, to see $17 million was insane. I mean, he was clearly by far, in my opinion, the most popular player from his draft class for a number of reasons. People hated to see him, hated everything

about him, and then people loved him, loved everything about him. Obviously, he didn't make the headweight on the field, didn't play a ton until the end of the season. But that was insane. I am interested, like you said, to see where the breakdown or how the breakdown really is. All I care about is that he's getting the money that he's because every time, you know, the NFL wants the draft happened. I mean, I felt like every other post of theirs was about Shadour once he started. play. It was about Chador, you know, a lot of the conversation throughout training camp, his reps, so all the things. So I'm glad that he actually benefiting it financially from it. But I'm definitely interested to see the actual breakdown. Like you said, yes, does bow well

for the future of the NFL when it comes to players and bringing in this type of money. Yeah, it's kind of all listed out publicly, I guess, in a federal filing. It just says royalties and player marketing. One of them, though, is for $9 million here on 2025, May 16th. We assume that one would be the card pinini one that was in there. There's a couple other million-dollar ones that just say royalty marketing, June 27, 2025. That one might be the NCAA Marchman or video game cover. It's all before the season he kicked off.

Yeah, congrats to him, man. Congress to him. And is this going to continue to be something that is happening from the NFLPA to its players? And if that's the case, that's great news, AJ. That is phenomenos. And I think that's the best usage of the NFLPA as well. if they become a money generating arm for the players. They've got enough people sitting in suits in an office.

Can somebody think of some ideas to generate some capital for these players? Feels like they're doing that, or at least on the verge of doing that, AJ? Yeah, it seems like they're on the verge of it. This is a great thing, I think, moving forward. It would be interesting to see, like, next year who gets the most from these group licensing agreements. And yeah, I think a big chunk of it is the guaranteed for the trading card situation, but still $17 million in one year. If that's the case, how much did he bring in?

because we know, like, there's not a 50-50 split, I'm guessing. Like, players aren't getting 50%. I doubt it when it comes to a marketing situation. So he had to bring in a ton of money for him to actually receive that much. Yeah, and how the NFLPA go about getting that much money, you know? So that means somebody had a vision of plan, enacted on it, executed it, and both sides were able to win. If Shador is getting 17.7, we assume the NFLPA is going to be getting a lot of money as well in this entire.

Yeah, how was it set up? And I know you were more into it than we were as players. How was this set up when we were playing with the NFLPA? I know you had your gripe, you removed yourself from, you know, like the PA as a whole. So what was this set up now? Just such a small percentage. Like, whenever they were selling things, it was just, they undercut, they undercut my entire merch company. And we're like marketing under it.

And the amount of money that I get from me selling up my own shirt, basically, versus what they were giving. It was just such a small percentage. But there's no way that that small percentage would be $17.7 million. So they had to have a different deal with Shador. And AJ, you said it can't be 50%. Maybe it was. I, we have.

I guess I could. I guess it could because it is the PA. But yeah, I would be surprised that players are getting that big of a percentage. But 50% for an agent is absurd. Nobody should ever think that that is acceptable in any world. But for a players association, if they're automatically getting deals in deciding to give them to people, you know, that's obviously a reason why they would give the large percentage if nobody else could get the deal.

That's a lot of money. Yeah. I don't understand. It makes no sense. Hey, who cares? Hey. But it's so cool. Hey, who cares, Shador?
