beautiful people and welcome to our humble the boat the draft kings thunderdom on this for good a sport
Tuesday july 21st 2006 this program begins now sports are the absolute greatest thing we are so
incredibly lucky that we get a chance to chat about them every single day especially on days like
today we can't help but look into me and understand that we're living the luckiest lives of all time
that we get a chance to chat about the greatest thing that has ever been invented which is
competition in sports. And the sports world is always going to deliver. Now, we'll be action-packed
highlights every single night of our lives. No, we're realizing. Okay? There isn't always going to
be something that is going to be spectacular happening every single night, especially in the middle
of summer. There is a chance of baseball will show up for us in a big way, softball show up in a
big way. WMBA could potentially show up for us in a big way. But right now, we are in the middle of
what's going to happen, what could happen, and where we are stories in all different leagues. Now,
Obviously, the NBA has a man who's currently a free agent who's obviously in the greatest of all time conversation.
He's a friend of the program.
He's a man who could literally pick and choose any team he wants to play for in the NBA.
And he's still trying to figure it out.
Where the hell will LeBron James go?
New odds on favorite this morning.
Yesterday was Miami Heat today.
Cleveland.
Oh, wow.
Now, I wonder if LeBron James potentially liked the post that said there's nothing like going back home or something like on Instagram and somebody.
saw King James do a home thing.
So now that obviously boost their particular odds to get them.
Why was Miami in the lead?
Why is Golden State not in the league?
That one feels...
Rome.
Was he not in an airport last night?
That's a nine-year NFL vet.
That's Darius J. Butler.
That's one half of the hammer.
Dad.
Cowboys AP tone asking if LeBron James was any international airports recently
where we could potentially see what gate he was going to to potentially see.
I don't think that's happening.
Toxic table at Boston.
Costa Connor at Ty Schmitter here. These are the things that we have to do, but it's not just
speculation on a goat. Ladies and gentlemen, we got rookies reporting the training camp in the NFL.
Boom!
Goat!
We got the Bill's, Panthers, Texans, Dolphins, and Patriots, rookies all reporting the training camp.
That means there is a journey to Lombardyland that has begun for these five teams.
Now, how many teams will start over the next couple days a lot?
Now, how many games will matter for us in the next couple weeks? None.
How much of this will be worthy of chatter every single?
day probably not a lot but we will say rookies are in NFL buildings today
yeah come thank you so much the offseason of sport that obviously was
spectacular and soccer had a certainly a big hand in that which says surprises what the hell
happened in argentine's locker room before that game i don't know why's everybody crying
down there it's got to one half of the hammer died cowboys bubble gumpina little messy
he needs to get out of Argentina.
He needs to be playing for America today.
What happened? They weren't even going to win that game
before they even stepped on to the pitch, apparently.
There's a lot of drama going around this Argentine team
that obviously loses in a horribly
boring, devastating way.
Dispickable.
Boring.
They look beaten before the game started, unfortunately.
That's what we're learning now.
Messy gave a speech as well.
What?
Forget what happened in the locker room. Let's go out there.
There's rumblings on the internet.
Nobody really knows what happened before that.
match. It reminds me in 1998
when the Brazilian squad with Ronaldo
and all the legends, there was a dust up
in their locker room. They went out and lost 3-0
0 to France as well. Bad one.
So you're telling me that
it's a chance that it was
potentially partners,
potentially doing stuff with other
partners. Oh boy.
On other members of the team. We've seen that
take down locker rooms in many a sport.
I can obviously assume soccer is that. I'm not saying that's what happened here.
We are just saying there's a lot of things that could potentially happen right before a World Cup final that's going to cause the boys to fight each other?
Come on.
Can't have it.
Can we wait until after the final?
They did.
Can't we?
Yeah, then they fought Spain.
Then they really did.
But how do we know that it wasn't just Lou Messi giving an impassioned, very somber emotional speech?
And all these guys are like, we're never going to take the pitch with this guy again after today.
Yeah, maybe it was super emotional because it was the last time Lou and the boys were going to be able to do their thing on the pitch.
And I'll say we're watching Spain celebrate that World Cup.
that looks like fun.
They're having a Super Bowl parade over there for the country.
That's a lot of fun.
That looks like an absolute blast.
I'm happy there enjoying that.
Let's get back to the NFL rookies in the building.
It's not just rookies either.
I don't know if you saw this.
I assume Bill's rookies are all there.
Sure.
I assume Texans rookies are all there.
Yeah, it should be.
I assume Panthers rookies all there.
Mm-hmm.
I assume Dolphins rookies all there.
They should be.
Yeah.
Do you see the Patriots?
Drake Mazer.
Is that a lot?
Is he a rookie?
Is this guy even allowed to go to row?
rookie camp, obviously Drake May, trying to get a couple extra days of training camp.
Connor, Campbell, Boston Connor saw this, and obviously it was elated.
Drake treats every day like he's still a rookie man.
That's what Drake's going to be like forever.
This is the perfect guy for our team.
This does make you obviously go a little bit of zipper burn, but this made it feel real to me.
When I saw Drake May, MVP finalist last year, okay, number two in voting for MVP.
Obviously he's in the Super Bowl, took over the world in his first year in an offensive system.
Let's imagine that's only going to get better up there for him in New England.
case everything that they thought he could potentially be
the athleticism, the ability to throw,
the pinpoint accuracy, being able to
break down a defense, his footwork, you name it.
This guy was everything we thought he was.
And I'm seeing him report the training camp.
That got me excited. I couldn't even imagine what it did to Yukon.
Yeah, it broke up immediately. It's hard not
to be when you kind of see these players
coming in, because you mentioned it. When it's the rookies, it's like,
okay, is this guy going to be good? Is this guy going to
be good? Odds would tell us probably
not when you see a reigning MVP
final. It's a guy who played in the Super Bowl walking to a
brand new building, by the way. I don't know if you saw
that's just a face scan.
We don't, we're not part of the past.
Yeah, I'm sure that won't take forever.
No, we're not part of it.
That's a good idea.
Let's do that one.
Uh-uh.
Yeah.
Make sure your eyeballs is perfect.
Wasn't even close to perfectly there.
He didn't near walk past it.
Look, oh, hold on.
Let me just get my face in.
Okay, boom.
Doors unlock.
Hey, nice to see you.
Hey, y'all.
It was just immaculate to see that.
And also, look at the legs on that guy.
The tree trunks have grown, gentlemen.
The arms look bigger.
the shoulders look broader.
I mean, the boys have been working.
The Patriots have a lot to approve here,
and they got much better this offseason.
They certainly had a lot go on this off season.
They got much better.
On the field, they got much better.
They got much better.
And the team came together, bunker mentality,
exactly what you want in the team,
especially post Super Bowl.
Okay, yeah.
Super Bowl lost, too.
That's a heartbreaking.
Probably more focused off the field now, too.
Yeah, I would assume the teams ready to lock.
And I did see the shorts ride up in between on Drake May.
You know, that's been happening to me for most of my life.
You've got good quads, good hamis.
Obviously, that thing's going to ride up a little bit.
You're going to look like an idiot.
But I think he is certainly prying and destined to do something special this season.
And for the foreseeable future, him and McDaniels are only going to start speaking the same language even more and more.
He's 23.
So he basically is a rookie.
Yeah, so Drake May is getting a head start on camp.
He's just going up there.
I don't know if he's allowed to be there with a rookie.
Nope.
What should we take here for the first couple weeks, Dibund?
Everybody's just trying to get acclimated to the building, acclimated to each other.
What do you expect our conversations are going to be like of not only these rookie camps,
but these first few weeks of training camp?
It'd be a lot of stories of us blowing things up, small things, making them.
Good.
You know, that's just what we have to do.
Good, yes.
It's a daily sports show.
There are some, obviously, quarterbacks.
It's always the lead of the conversation.
We talk about NFL contracts.
There are some quarterbacks.
You know how it is with teams and quarterbacks and players in general.
Sometimes you have that deadline.
Hey, if we get in the training camp, we won't revisit these contract talks until after season.
Baker Mayfield.
Dan in Tampa. Some quarterback competitions, you know, in Cleveland and Minnesota. So those would be
the biggest storylines. And then seeing these, you know, as soon as a rookie makes a play or a rookie
drops a ball. Remember Jamar Chase, he can't catch the NFL football. That was nice.
Yeah, who knows what this year's story. That was true. That was so awesome. He figured it out.
No, he did. He figured it out. I think he's figured out pretty good. Yeah, who know,
they're paying him a lot of money over there. He, that was the greatest. He took a year off,
obviously. Yeah. Then he gets drafted really hot to Cincinnati. Go back to his college,
quarterback and first two days of training camp, he dropped the ball. And that had every expert out there saying, you know, a college ball actually has stripes one. That's why you can kind of see it coming. Maybe your depth perception is a little bit better. Without the stripes, will he know when the ball's getting there? Apparently not. This might be a waste of draft.
March Hayes can't catch an NFL football. Look out. Turns out, he's just trying to figure it out, maybe.
It's just all right. He just woke up a little bit late, maybe one day did that entire thing. And I do like that you said, we'll blow up the little things, because little things lead to the big thing.
That's right.
And you have to talk about them all.
For instance, Jacoby Percette, tomorrow, Arizona Cardinals.
Is he going to be there or not?
Cool.
That's a state of the Arizona Cardinals currently.
Jacobi Percet saying, you can't pay me like I'm a rookie, like, left guard.
If I'm going to be your starting quarterback.
Like, this is, there has to be a professional conversation or just a little professional courtesy.
And then you've got a little floor over there like, hey, I'm brand new trying to do.
I mean, I got Carson, what do it?
Come on.
This cannot be what, how this whole thing be.
begins. Have we seen it recently? Has he done anything with the hair?
Because I know we don't want people to change.
I saw him. I saw him. Not in L.A. right?
I saw it. You saw him. You had eyes on him. Is the hair?
Arm around shoulder. Me. Sweaty.
Okay. I was in tank top at World Cup dressed like asshole. I got everybody told me I should
have dressed nicer. I didn't know. We have to wear a suit.
It's a soccer game. I know I have to be talking about. But I was very, very lucky to
happen upon a section of sweets in there. Okay. They're right on the field. And one of
had Tom Cruise in it.
No big deal.
David Beckham.
Of course.
There was a bunch of other people.
Is that Roy Keene?
I so speed.
Roy King.
Roeby.
Robby.
Sorry, Roeby.
He told him.
And then right next to their suite was the Kronky suite.
Okay.
And I just, one of them happened to be like,
hey, why don't you come look at our setup over here for,
well you build here.
I'm like, you know what?
I'll definitely go under the owner that built this entire stadium,
brand new stadium.
Might as well.
Sweet or whatever.
I look here, it is.
Oh yeah.
Oh yeah.
They do really good over here.
They do really nice, really good of you.
McVeigh was there, though.
Super Jacked, we all saw that.
I actually asked him what science he was on.
I obviously did that entire thing.
And then LaFleur was there,
and I recognized him by the hair.
Sure.
Yeah.
And we're only a couple weeks removed
from doing our entire breakdown
of the way he looked.
Right.
And obviously he knows of us
from Green Bay pretty good, I assume.
Yeah, probably.
In the entirety.
Saw him, notice the hair.
One up shook his hand.
Very cool.
I mean, like, incredibly.
incredibly awesome.
I told him,
have you learned that once you become
the head coach of Arizona Cardinals,
you have to get in there early,
you actually have to pedal the power
for the building before you get in there.
And then is the team car that they did you,
yabba dabba do.
Yeah, exactly.
Are you doing anything that?
Do you have to conserve enter?
Are you allowed to have air conditioning
in the building?
And he's like, stop, we got to,
I guess they got a massive new practice facility
they're currently building.
Like a lot of money.
I was like, am I allowed to report that?
He's like, it has been reported.
I'm like, oh, we missed it.
Yeah.
They're building a massive new practice facility, I do believe, from my understanding from what I was told there.
And also, I think he's getting a chance to like, really, you know, like I think that was one of the main draws for him.
From my conversation, I'm not going to act like I know him.
I talked to him for four minutes.
But it felt five minutes, probably 10 actually.
I think we had a drink as well.
I had a drink.
I don't know about him having a drink.
I was in a tank top.
I was sweaty.
He did feel my sweat.
But it did feel like one of the big draws of this because he would have been able to wait and go.
Yeah.
He was in McVease.
He's in McVease.
He's offensive coordinator in McVe's system.
Matthew Stafford obviously just won an MVP.
I'm not saying he's going to get the Ben Johnson like hype,
but there will be future hiring cycles where he will definitely be the first one in line.
So I asked, I'm like, I love Scottsdale, I love Phoenix, we love it.
We absolutely love it.
But that doesn't feel, especially in the West here, you know, with what you've got going on.
I mean, every team here is really good.
And it feels like he's excited to like, all right, let's go, let's do this.
Let's build this, let's make this.
And he said that he's got a lot of commitment from ownership,
And he thinks that's kind of just like a chapter that they're trying to get through in real time as they get to the next one.
So I think it's a lot more positive out of Arizona after talking to him.
But on that, no, we're going to have to see that.
And what does that mean for how long?
And in the NFC West, yeah, right.
I mean, that's a long way to go.
I believe they play the.
And then Aaron Donald's coming?
I mean, you got to, I mean, that is you are little, little, little brother in there.
Best city probably.
Yeah.
Up there, Nashville.
No, but in that division.
Oh, in that division.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's pretty.
LA is awesome. San Fran's also awesome.
Seattle, I've been up there. It's beautiful.
Phoenix is unbelievable.
But in that division at that time, I mean, granted, they do have the Hall of Fame game,
and they're kicking everything off, and the history is going to be celebrated of them.
It's like, I hope they do get a chance.
And he felt like a cool guy.
I think we're going to like, I think he felt like a dog.
Jeremiah, I love.
And I think they play.
I love what they got going on.
Love that as well.
I think they play the AFC West, too, if I remember correctly.
Tough draw.
Maybe next year, coach.
The tough draw.
I believe there plus a thousand.
just to win the division, which is pretty heavy odds.
Okay, let's get back to some odds for the other massive news story
that's happening in sports world.
LeBron James, what are the odds where?
Cleveland became the favorite this morning.
Can you tell us where we sit on draft games, the best sportsbook on earth?
Yeah, Cleveland now the favorites at plus 140.
The heat now slide right behind them, followed by Golden State and the Sixers.
It's really been those four teams the entire time, and they've kind of rotated and flip-flop.
We do this with the draft, and we do this with things like this,
where we talk about how like this is the one time
where you, unless the sports
books are talking directly to LeBron
or someone in his camp, you
know just as much as they do because of the
information that is being reported and leaked
out. It's the one time
you can try to take advantage of information like this.
But as of right now, Cavaliers are the favorites.
Who knows it? Nobody knows shit right now
but it's probably between those four. Okay, so nobody
knows shit. Let's find out. No relation
to Jake and Logan, ladies and gentlemen,
founder of Clutch, Rich Paul.
Okay.
Rich.
Okay, Rich.
Yes, sir?
I'm sick of it.
Okay?
I am sick of it.
What are you sick of?
I'm going to spend my summer
trying to guess
whether or not LeBron's going to be an Indiana pacer or not.
When's this coming to an end?
You know the answers.
Where is he going?
We need to answer it now.
You know, listen, you know I love
my guy
Kevin Pritchard
and Chad Buchanan
over at the Pacers
you just had Halley on your show
you're not spending your summer
worried about that
and I read the news
just as much as you do
you can spend your summer
on the moon
based upon what I just read
so I have no sympathy
for you
I am not
sympathizing for Pat McAfee
no I'm not
but
I understand
But what do we do?
But what are we doing?
So how do you feel like this is going to go?
Obviously we saw, by the way,
incredibly pumped for you with your podcast.
How you?
Going, Rich.
Doing, Rich.
And obviously, the first time, an agent,
especially one that's as influential as you,
opens up and starts doing regular content.
There's going to be backlash
because it hasn't happened in before.
We assume that in the future others
will be attempting to do the same thing.
You obviously, we think good orator,
good speaker, good storyteller.
and obviously your resume's outrageous.
We think it's a good idea.
Now you've pissing people off with some of the things,
and I assume you even learn some lessons
throughout the entirety of this first season,
but we're all listening to what you're saying.
It sounds like what you're saying,
and we could be wrong.
I haven't spoke to you directly about this.
I only heard your shit.
LeBron is making this decision.
LeBron has all the information he needs.
LeBron is kind of trying to figure it out
for what's best for his family, him,
his legacy, what he wants to do with his life?
Is that kind of the right thing?
and then we can kind of just put this to bed
until you guys, until Mr. James
the King decides to tell us he's coming to Indiana Pacers.
Yeah, just have a little patience with him.
Obviously, Pat is his choice.
You know, I have a job to do to set the table for him,
but it's his choice.
And in my conversation with Adam,
which obviously, you know, Adam,
the greatest commission of all leagues,
you know, we understand where the league is at
and things of that nature as it pertains to the schedule,
but it's a very complete.
thing because this is a very important choice for him.
You cannot rush it.
I think he's earned the right not to be rushed.
And so it's not a thing where you're towing with people's emotions
or trying to make it about anything more than the fact that, hey,
this man has a very important layer decision to make across business,
across family, across basketball.
And, you know, basketball is the business, obviously.
But, you know, just have to be patient with him.
I don't know, Pat.
I wish I did know.
I don't know.
Come on.
And I don't.
I don't know.
That's Connor.
I wouldn't even joke with you.
That's Connor right there.
And I appreciate him doing that.
But also, I appreciate the thing.
And this was just like when Aaron Rogers was trying to figure out what the hell he wanted to do.
Aaron Rogers has committed his entire life to football.
Okay?
So him decided whether or not he wants to continue or play somewhere else.
He's a huge decision for him personally.
Now, for us as Daily Sports Show, we like that decision to be made yesterday.
Immediately.
Yeah, or it is morning.
We would like that.
But on that note, he's played basketball's entire life.
Who knows how many more pages this book has of King James' basketball career?
What he decides to do with those is a massive decision.
A lot of consequences on it.
Now, last question here does come from Connor, Rich.
Yeah, Rich.
I think we all would like to know, is this going to be like a farewell tour just because
so we can all take it in and enjoy it?
Or is this one of those things where it's going to be, you know, he plays a year and then
makes another decision just because based on how his body feels, how he's feeling mentally.
what is that process like?
Connor, I have no idea.
I think if you follow his career,
he's always been someone to take care of his body
and things like that to put himself in position
that when and if he decides to make
whatever decision he decides to make
in terms of his choice for continuing to play
or not continuing to play,
it's because he wants to make that choice,
not because he has to make that choice.
And I think as a former athlete, you know, I know AJ's on the show and I know Pat's on the show and I'll include myself in there as a former athlete myself.
That'd better, not you, D, but.
Fucked out, Bruce.
I'm sorry.
But no, in all seriousness, I think, Pat, when you put yourself in this position, has there ever been someone who gets to a place to where they can honestly decide with full clarity and choosing whatever?
they decide, whatever they choose, as pertains to continue to play a sport or where you're going to go to
continue your professional career with full clarity. Normally, we are manipulated by a financial
component. And in this case, he's not. And so, look, I think, like I said to him and I said to you
guys, I've said on my show, hopefully, you know, your audience is tuning into a game over show
on Spotify, Netflix. But myself and Max Kellerman. But, but, I'm going to myself and Max Kellerman.
I think that, you know, it's a very unique position to be in.
And, you know, it's something that, you know, I think, again, you have to be happy for a guy who's earned it.
I ask him to find humility and peace while still playing the game.
And if he can do that, moving forward, I personally don't like to think about the end of it because, you know, he's got so much left in the tank.
But that's his choice.
You know, he has his family and things that nature.
but me personally, I just, I don't like to think about that because he's been so great to us
and so great to the game and he's meant so much to the sport.
But for now, we don't know, be a little patient, and he's going to choose whenever he chooses
and wherever he goes, I'm going to be ecstatic for him, and I'm sure that fan base will as well.
All right, you're the man. We appreciate you stopping by, giving us a little brief glimpse
into what's happening behind the scenes,
and we agree with what you're saying.
LeBron's earned the right to be in this position.
And I think LeBron, although he is still, you know,
the kid from Macron, he understands that the entire world
wants to know what he's doing.
And I'd want him to know that that should not mean
that he should give us an answer sooner than later.
But if he wants to come to the Pacers,
we'd like to break it right here.
That's right.
Okay.
Okay, well, I'll let him know that.
I'm sure he'll probably watch it and hear you say it yourself.
I have a question for you, though, Pat.
I want to personally invite you to the Clutch Cup.
It's on 824.
It's a golf outing that is being put together here, being led by fair.
She's putting it together, her and her team, and it's going to be pretty cool.
So you're a friend of the program, so I'm personally inviting.
I might get in trouble for this, but so what.
I'm personally inviting you.
All right, good.
There's going to be a lot of enemies in mine there,
but I was certainly coming.
I'll appreciate you.
And I'll bring these bad boys, you know,
that I thought was possible for today.
You're the best, ladies and gentlemen, that's Rich Ball.
Yeah, you're the man, you're the man.
Okay, joining us now.
Speaking of golf.
Okay, so I'm going to the clutch.
What's it called?
Clutch cup.
Clutch cup.
You guys are going to.
What do you say, 824?
824, yeah.
He did invite us.
Yeah, he didn't invite us,
and I know that date came up yesterday for something we had.
It's a Monday.
We got to work.
I know what is for?
What is it?
Clutch cup.
Up.
Baseball, softball bet.
Oh, Tyrese.
That's what it is.
Charity softball game.
Sorry, Tyrese.
Maybe I go shoot it down a little bit.
Yeah, especially what he gave me yesterday.
I can go represent the Clush Cup.
I can go represent the Clush Cup because I wasn't invited to Tyrese thing, so.
Okay.
You're the only one up here.
All right, all right.
Let's move along.
Tony James, babe.
If we do any golfing, okay?
This next person we're about to talk to is somebody that we need to listen to
into. We need to absorb everything. This man has been able to accomplish something with a swing
that I have seen from 75,000 amateur golfers. An icon, a man who's fodder and fodder's fodder,
were phenomenal athletes for New Zealand. Ladies and gentlemen, the open winner, major winner,
new icon of sport, Ryan Fox.
Thanks, guys.
How are you, buddy?
I'm good. Still a bit surreal. I don't really know what the thing. I don't know if you guys can see is the open is the claret jug in the background or is it too tight.
Well, right there it's perfect. Yeah, perfect. So yeah, it's it's real. I don't, yeah, I don't know what to think, but it's it's pretty amazing to be honest.
Well, I like the fact that it's right underneath the wine glasses because I think immediately afterwards you said there's going to be some red wine in there with your New Zealand accent. Awesome. Have you enjoyed the claret jug and has there been?
been a plethora of red wine going through it
in celebration of winning a major brother.
Congrats.
Thank you.
Yeah, there has been plenty.
I probably was, I jumped the gun a little bit.
It went in a little bit too early and then I had to take more official photos
and all got tipped out later on.
But yeah, there has been plenty.
We finished up about 3 a.m. on Monday morning and I had a car picking me up
at 4.15.
So it's safe to say I didn't have any sleep before going to the airport
and heading back home.
But I've even had my five-year-old daughter asked me,
is there any wine in a claret jug?
So she gets it.
Yeah, well, over international waters too,
I think you probably, you know, probably could have let it happen.
I mean, you gotta do what you gotta do as an adult and as a parent.
But I appreciate that there was no,
there was no guide on how to win a major.
So this is the trophy, it's mine.
Yeah, give me the fucking, I need to, uh,
give me the wine.
Pretty much, that's how it works.
Ryan, no, no, no, you're gonna go do 10 interviews.
You gotta go take photos or they,
We still need to get the close-up shot of the jug.
I can't have a record.
All right, I'll chuck it, I guess.
That is spectacular.
I want to let you know that's very relatable.
So is your swing.
Can you please tell me about this?
Because I assume you've been told your entire, I read your story.
You didn't start golf until you're 18, I believe.
And then when you're 24, I think is whenever you became pro.
You were going to be a lawyer.
Then you get into golf.
Turns out it works out for you pretty good.
But your swing, and this is crazy for me to say because you are actually 2,000 times better
than me as a golfer, but everything you do in your swing is everything that they told me was
wrong on my swing. I don't transfer my weight from my right foot to my left foot. I drop my shoulder
so I'm off on the plane. I swing inside out and I carry it out there. Everything that you do
emphasize, you emphasize it even more than I do, you're winning majors with and I'm being
told I need to get off golf courses. Can you tell me a little bit about your swing? How we got
here, and has this always just been your swing and you've just stuck with it? Yeah, look, it's
I would say it's always been my swing.
It's all, like, I do have a coach, believe me, but it's always been, like, function over form.
Like, if the body moves right, like, I don't really care what it looks like, obviously, like, it doesn't look great.
But the ball goes where I want it to go most of the time.
So, it's, I've had a dodgy left ankle.
That's why my left ankle's weight flared out.
I've got very little rotation.
Like, I'm an ex-rugby player.
I've still got a rugby player's body, basically.
like nothing moves how it should move compared to most of my peers so i've just got to find a way
to kind of get it done and um yeah like i've been pretty lucky in my career so far i've managed
to escape some injuries i've obviously had some pretty incredible moments um you know capped off by
by last week um and yeah like hopefully i can keep doing it for a little while yet so like yeah just
golf is a great game like it doesn't have to be perfect just do whatever works and yeah
seeing this go in, this makes everything worthwhile to, like, it's a dream come true that.
Hell yeah. And watching you was, it felt like a dream come true. I had no idea it was possible
to swing the way you swing and win. And I appreciate you're saying, I'm a rugby player, man.
The body's been beat the hell here. Okay, it'd be really nice to be able to do the full. Fine.
This thing would be really cool. But I've got to figure out, you open that left because I had knee
surgeries, right? So the rotation here, not great. So I've been told, yeah, open up that front.
You kind of got the rotation happening already.
to go win a major like that
is just unbelievable the amount of mental
toughness. Let's just get the job done here.
What are we doing? And the way you
go about doing it. I heard you speak a little bit
about how your brain's wired for golf.
And if you didn't operate in a particular way,
you wouldn't be worth something. Ty has a question for you.
Yeah, Ryan, a lot of people were talking about your pace of play,
kind of capped off with, you know, the biggest moment of your career.
You just step up and knock that put down
without really even thinking about it. But I also saw a quote,
I think you were playing with Scotty and maybe someone
else last year. And Scottie said something to the effect of like, hey, Ryan, it feels like
we're playing in a two-sum right now, not a threesome because you just, your ass just gets up there
and hits the ball. We don't even see you. Have you always played like that? Because it seems like
that is one reason a lot of people maybe get on certain golfers on tour's case because there's
all the waggles. They take so much time to hit. Like, it's really refreshing, seeing that you kind
of treated the open championship like you were just playing 18 at a local Muni on Sunday.
Yeah, look, I mean, first to click, like that part, if you look at that putt I hit on 18, like I'd done all my work reading the putt before it was my turn to actually hit the put.
Like, I'm ready to go.
Like, I know which way it's going to go.
So, like, my decision's made.
It's just go up and do my routine.
My routine's quick.
I think, like, everything in my head works fast.
Like, I see the shot fast.
I make a decision fast.
Like, my routine's fast.
I'm glad I kept that same thing, you know, with a chance to win the major.
That's, you know, it would have been really easy to get out of that routine.
And that's what I've done my whole career.
And I think the reason I probably started it, like when I first started playing golf when I was a kid with my dad,
like I'd have clubs in the backyard and whatever, but the first time I go to a golf course,
dad's playing like corporate days and charity days and stuff like that back in New Zealand.
And, you know, he's got his eight, 10-year-old tagging along and wanting to play.
but you know I'm playing with the big boys at the time like I just want to get out of their way
like I don't want to annoy anyone I just I'm just real chuff to be there and like hey just let me
let me play I'll play real quick I won't you know I won't annoy any of you and that's just kind of
stayed the same way I think the whole way through I like that your style of play is sorry sorry
sorry yep sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry yeah sorry sorry sorry yeah
I want to let you know as a viewer, spectacular.
Yeah, the best.
But I think for the TV networks now, they were trying to...
Oh, yeah, I keep them on their toes, definitely.
Yeah, especially when he get on T-Box about to win a damn major, you know,
and they're like, he might fucking hit it before we get back through the playthrough thing.
Hey, they're running like four commercials during that now, yeah.
Used to be just...
They've really gimmicked that a bit.
Oh, yeah.
Used to be commercial free.
The last two hours.
Pretty good idea, though, whenever you got this legend.
Yeah.
Ball and balls.
You just mentioned having a chuff out there with your dad.
Legend.
We just looked up his highlights.
This guy could boot balls.
I mean, he was a rugby stud back there.
Did he do the,
because we know the All Blacks,
the Haka.
Was he a part of all that?
And he had an illustrious career now.
This guy, one of the best of,
they're saying like one of the best ever kickers
in the history of New Zealand rugby or something.
One of the greatest fly halves of all time.
What is it?
What did they?
Fly halves.
Oh, a fly half?
One of the greatest fly halves of all time.
He holds multiple world records still in the rugby cup.
But speaking of your father, Ryan, because of that and how successful he was and just
like kind of growing up as the son of a great rugby player and then choosing golf, what was
that first conversation like with your father after winning?
Because I assume that was kind of a weight almost lifted off your shoulders, winning a major
championship?
Yeah, look, I had, I think you probably saw.
the conversation in the little room afterwards, the holding room or whatever it was.
I got to call my family, my wife and kids, and also I got to call mum and dad.
And I think dad, he was pretty lost for words, which doesn't happen very much for him, to be
honest.
Like, I think he would have been a nervous wreck.
Like, he's a guy, he was always renowned as cool and calm under pressure, like obviously
goal kicking to try to win games and stuff like that.
You have to be able to deal with pressure.
But when he wasn't in control, he's pretty terrible.
stuff. So I imagine he was pacing around the living room, just not knowing what to think coming
down those last few holes there. So I kind of would have liked to be a fly on the wall and
see how that played out at home back in New Zealand. But yeah, look, he gave up a lot.
He used to caddy from me when I was playing amateur golf. He catty from me even a bit into my
professional career. Like he was always there. Like there was never any pressure to carry on in
his footsteps to play rugby or anything like that. So I'm looking forward to
taking this little trophy home behind me and sharing a little drink out of it with him.
You know, it was a tradition in rugby.
There's something called the Blederslow Cup, New Zealand versus Australia.
Apparently, it fits 42 bears in it.
Apparently, apparently.
Yeah.
So, you know, that was always a tradition for them to drink bears out of the Blederslow Cup,
if you win the Blederslow Cup.
And I've been lucky enough to do it with the current All Black team last year and back in New Zealand.
So, yeah, I think it's tradition to drink something out of the claret jug,
and it probably should be claret to be honest apparently there is how many wine glasses in the
claret i don't know oh we haven't found out yet oh we haven't found out yeah i know i've there has been
multiple bottles go through it but only one at a time i haven't tested how many actually fit in it yeah
it's operating as a carousel right now not a parking lot we will uh we will certainly find out someday
Okay, let's talk about, talk about winning that thing.
Go ahead, Dee Butt.
Yeah, Ryan, I just want to know what changed going into the weekend.
You're tired of 52nd going into the weekend.
And then after you stood a 62 on Saturday.
And then Sunday, you birdie for your last six,
including the big one on 18 to avoid the playoffs.
So what change between the years mentally for you when you went out to that course on Saturday?
You nailed that, Dee Bud.
Honestly, not that much.
I felt like I played really good on Thursday.
And, you know, I just putted like a donkey, to be honest.
I was awful on the Greens on Thursday.
And then I had a really good patch
through the middle of the round on Friday
and felt like I was playing really good.
I was 400 for the round on Friday
and made a couple of bogeys coming home
but made the cut.
Like the conditions are a lot more scoreable early on.
I kind of felt like a Saturday,
if I can get out early and shoot a score,
like I've got a chance of having a decent week.
Didn't quite think I'd shoot 62.
You know, getting to play with Xander as well.
Like that was just a day where everything went in.
It had everything where I was.
wanted to and I didn't hit a very good part for 61 here but um yeah I was probably a bit
nervous over that part too to be honest knowing there was a little bit of history involved to
to have a chance of shooting the best score in major history and then Sunday I just kind of
kept those same feelings going and I'm not sure how mentally I managed it on Sunday like
I look back on it now and it feels really scary and intimidating but yeah in the actual being in the
actual position, I felt in control. I felt like my game was good and like I hold everything
down the stretch. Like it's golf's a funny game like with all the nerves putting is almost the
hardest thing and I just felt really comfortable at that point and like I've seen the last hole now
you guys are playing like this is the best hole I could potentially ever play in golf like it was
three perfect shots right there with a chance to win a major championship. Like I would never have
dreamed of being able to do that or having the mental strength to be able to do it.
the way, congratulations on finding out that you can do it.
Yeah, let's go.
Hey, that's cool thing to learn about yourself, I think.
You know, and I was a kicker punter in college,
and then in the NFL, just a punter.
And you know, a lot of eyes, a lot of pressure moment.
If you mess up, everybody's gonna know what you,
and nowhere near the amount of reps that you guys have.
But there is like a certain, like,
I think I'm ready for the moment.
I think so, you know, and then you get into it.
Like I was punting in the Super Bowl.
I didn't know how to punt,
and Reggie Bush was the returner.
So that was like a fun thing.
Yeah.
Yeah, that was a fun thing.
That would be tough.
Yeah, but that was like a fun thing for me to like get through.
It's like, all right, you had to go out there and do your job.
You did your job.
And they're blaming a lot of people for the Super Bowl loss, and you're not one of them.
So let's just go ahead and move forward.
That was a big deal for me.
It felt like a big weight off my shoulders for you.
I assume the same thing for you immediately afterwards.
It's like I knew I put in a lot of work for this moment.
I didn't know if I was going to be able to do it.
I did it.
Hell yeah, me, first of all.
But also the rest of your life now, a little bit different.
Because you got the, you know, kind of the monkey off your back.
metaphorically, if that makes sense.
Yeah, look, I think I've achieved more than I probably ever thought I could achieve
when I turned pro at the end of 2011.
Like, I've had a great career, even before winning last week, I would have taken it.
And then this is just, like, beyond my wildest dream.
So, like, yeah, now I've got a bit to think about, like, where do I go from here?
Like, try to refocus.
Obviously, when I keep playing for longer, there's some other stuff.
I'd like to achieve, like getting in the President's Cup team was a big goal.
I think I probably should be okay for that later in the year now.
We're going to beat your ass, but yes.
I hope not, but I'll be trying my best to make sure that doesn't happen.
No, no, the guys are actually going to fight you.
We're actually going to fight this year.
And you're old rugby.
I'd back myself in a fight.
I reckon I'd go okay.
No, your old rugby ass can't take it anymore.
We've seen those hips, pal.
We've seen those.
I can't run after people.
If someone hits me and run off, I won't chase them.
But if they stand there, I reckon I can throw.
I reckon so as well.
I reckon as well. Okay, so
obviously these goals that you
have laid out are much more attainable,
like President's Cup and everything like that.
But I just want to let you know from a golf popularity
standpoint, and I just speak for
one doofus here in Indiana.
I mean, you won me over immediately.
And I feel like,
and maybe this is wrong, but I watch
Fly the Concord, so I feel like I know your country pretty good.
Okay, was that right?
I was right. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So it feels like you are a humble bunch. It does feel like the
New Zealand crowd is a humble bunch is kind of my takeaway. We are. Okay. And self-deprecating
and everything like it feels like it's a really good culture. And I just want to let you know,
I think golf people are not only falling in love with you, but I'm excited for our journey
alongside of you here, man. Actually, like legitimately, I'm pumped to be a fan of yours.
I think I'm not the only one saying that. Well, thank you. I appreciate that. I mean,
I felt it. I checked a little bit of social media. I'm trying to catch up on anything,
everything at the moment. Like it's been a world wouldn't last 48 hours or so. And the amount of
like positive things I've heard like from the commentary, from the crowd out there, from just
random comments I've seen like it's been unreal. Like I don't know, I really don't know
what's coming for me in the next couple of months, to be honest. I think it's going to be a shock
to the system. But it's, I'm going to look forward to the ride, that's for sure. Yeah, you've
earned it, pal. Never forget it. Okay. Last question.
When you talk about the future of golf, go ahead, Tone.
Yeah, Ryan, there were some news today.
The PGA tour, the DP World Tour, and the Asian Tour,
they came together and continued their partnership for now multi-years moving forward.
Obviously, you as an international player who's played on all three of these tours.
I was just saying, how big is this for international players
and, like, international kids who are trying to come up,
make the PGA tour and play in majors like you have?
Look, I've only just seen the news this morning.
obviously, you know, I've got a few other things going on too, but that's huge for golf, I think.
You know, I have played on all three tours, which is pretty amazing.
You know, and being an international, like there is, golf is big outside America.
I know golf's big in America, but like...
Really? It exists out there?
It does. It really does.
Like, there is a lot of good players from around the world, and they have that pathway now from the Asian tour is amazing.
and I think it's just, it's going to be great for golf going forward to have the tours working together like that.
All right.
So, United States do not win the World Cup.
No.
Okay?
We all saw it.
Yep.
You need to know, we need to win the President's Cup.
Yeah, because we did it with the Ryder Cup either.
Yeah, we need to win the President's Cup too.
The international needs to win it at some point.
And I'm going to try my best to make sure that happens this time.
No, but maybe you'll take your time when you're golfing out there.
Slow it down.
Yeah, slow it down.
No, no, no, no, definitely not.
Get on that T-box.
Look around.
I want a major.
Do a whole one of those.
Then get over that ball and then just start thinking yourself, what am I doing here?
What am I trying to do here?
For swing thought.
Yeah, just take your time.
Actually, I take my time.
There is way too many things that can pop into my head.
Like, it's easier if you go quicker.
You just go, I've got to hit it there and hit it.
That's why I do it half of the time.
Just don't let the bad thoughts creep in.
Yeah, that's what we're saying.
It's the President's Cup.
Let of me.
Yeah.
A couple wagels.
Has the US done well?
No, no, no, no.
I don't need, I don't need to do that.
We're going to try to get your number.
And, you know, I don't know if you saw the Mexican soccer fans outside of the England
hotel.
We're going to be doing the same thing your phone before a president's going.
We're going to be blowing that thing up.
Okay, we need it.
We've only won 10 in a row.
What?
Yeah, only 10.
That doesn't sound like a lot.
We need 11, though, because have you heard about the Boston Red Sox?
Oh, yeah.
That's a real.
Ryan, you're the man.
We appreciate you so much for joining us.
Congratulations.
We cannot wait to watch the rest of the rest of the rest of.
of your career and thank you for taking the time out of your busy life and especially time
out of chugging red wine out of that that jug to chit-chat with us. Thanks guys appreciate it.
I've got the whole year to drink red wine out of it. I'll be good. Does your dad, and I will be
utilizing the entire. Is your dad still kick? Your dad still kick? No, he's had a couple of knee
replacements as it is so he's no good with that. He can still kick with his left foot, which is really
frustrating for me. Yeah, with the ankle, you know, yeah. All right, I appreciate you. You're the man.
Ladies and gentlemen, Ryan Fox.
Yeah, Ryan.
Favorite golfer.
Yeah, very likable.
Bar none.
The New Zealand people just super duper,
like the most humble,
were the dumbest of all time.
Like, it feels like that's why I learned
for Fly the Concord.
Fly the Concord's comedy on HBO.
I watched it, I was like,
oh, I've been to New Zealand before.
I saw Germain and Britt,
they kind of broke it all day.
And Murray, geez, that guy, outrageous.
So, I mean, that is their culture.
So it feels like having massive success
doesn't really, you know,
necessarily like change you.
But I do appreciate the fact that he got to have
the moment with himself at some point where it was
like, hey man, we showed up.
Holy shit. Because you don't know and so
you know. And that convo afterwards
is like a cool thing like, let's acknowledge
what you know, long time wondering
if it was going to, he said I also
appreciate that a major was on the line.
And I went really fast. He said,
I appreciate that. It was like him learning in real time.
Like, all right, well, I still do it. When the biggest thing
is on the line, I absolutely will. Because there's been
a lot of people probably told him, you need to slow down and you think
this thing through, you need to do this. And he's like, no, this is how I play, this how I play.
And then he learned in real time in the biggest moment of his life, will he stick to it?
And he did. And he drains it. It's like, that had to be such a freeing moment for Ryan Fox,
who had question marks probably, no matter how much success he's had. And it's like, I'm very
happy for that guy. And that feels like the normal thing, where it's like kind of a golfer that
you're not really aware of that hasn't won a major yet where down the stretch, they melt.
Like Debaugh mentioned it, he hit Bogie on 15. I mean, he put the thing into the sandbox.
And all of a sudden it's like, oh, okay, here we go.
Ryan Foxx, he's going to melt.
Bogies and then comes back with a birdie par, birdie to finish.
And those last three shots, he even said it, like, to hit three perfect shots back to back to back to win a major.
Like, I assume that is basically what you dream of as a golfer growing up.
And for him to be a guy that started really at 18 makes it even more special.
Yeah, he was going to be a lawyer.
Yeah.
And it's only him, like, who, well, obviously his family is probably close friends who can even, like, realistically,
imagine some shit like that actually happened like Rory, Scotty, you know, Bryce and all these guys,
you know, were phenoms and they were 12, 13. So it was like, okay, at some point this guy's going
to be the guy, the face of golf. That was never kind of a reality for him until it actually
happened at 39 years. That's insane. I hope he continues to go. Yeah. And I think he will because
I think, but he even said it in there. I got to figure out how to get refocused on the,
I don't want to say John Deere, because if John Deere's evolved, it's a big deal. But the rocket
super duper mortgage yes yeah next week somewhere like that's a funny thing he's like all right now
I got to figure out this one matters yeah this one still matters okay this one still but it is a
bonus everything he's doing now is bonus because he'll always be a major champion yeah like that is
that is a huge you win one Super Bowl you're always a Super Bowl champion you make one pro bowl
you're always a pro bow or you make one all pro pro they'll always call you an all pro
it's like you win one major forever that's a major winner and you're introduced differently into
every room that you step foot into.
Joining us now, ladies and gentlemen,
somebody that might be breaking some news here shortly
that would certainly change how all of college sports works.
Live from SEC Media Days is a Big Ten icon,
college football legend, friend of the program,
ladies and gentlemen, joining us,
college football analyst and insider for ESPN, Heather Dinney.
Yeah, Heather.
Heather, you're a little blurry, but we're not going to blame,
we understand through the blur.
That's like you look like you're a 380P right now.
I would say, but you look amazing.
Thank you for joining us, Ms. Heather.
Thank you.
Thanks for having me on, guys.
Okay, feels like a lot of the news out of the SEC Media Days
has been things that aren't necessarily just the SEC.
For instance, Michigan AD stepping down at the end of the year.
That comes through SEC Media Days.
College football separating into a Super League away from the NCAA is a posse.
You said it was a possibility or something like.
I felt like you were more positive about it than we thought would ever
potentially be real. Is there a chance for a Super League of college football that breaks away from
the NCAA rulers? And why would that happen and when would that happen, Ms. Heather?
Okay. Let's hit the reset button for a second. Not Super League. What we're talking about here
is the SEC specifically separating from the NCAA. Here's why. Because if they don't get
federal legislation, university presidents and chancellors and SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey in this
league are saying we need to create our own rules. What does that mean? What does that look like? Well,
not just football, Pat, but you could be seeing SEC softball and baseball and basketball all just playing
each other in an SEC-centric league. Why? Because part of it is, well, you can say, hey,
football, you have $40 million for your roster, softball, you have $10 million, whatever it is,
for your rosters, right? So everyone is playing with the same rules, the same salary caps,
the same, just plain by the same rules, right? But Greg Sanky said that that's not the preference.
And I want to go back to your Super League question. Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petiti and Greg
Sanky have both said publicly that no one is talking about a Super League. What we are talking
about, what SEC is talking about is them separating from the NCAA only if they don't get
federal legislation to
help antitrust
with protection for the NCAA.
So I'll stop there. What else you have
for me? Okay, so everybody wants
the NCAA to be able to rule. They want
somebody a ruling party of some sort
is what everybody seemingly wants. But then we
read the Protect College Sports Act
and then there's a bunch of things in there that allegedly
nobody in sport knew about that
I guess politicians snuck in at the last
second or something like that. Classic Washington,
D.C. The Protect College
Sports Act, which I think is
an offspring of the score
act, I believe. I don't want
to get too deep into it all.
But then there's all that type of stuff happening.
We need something to pass. Everybody agrees
that we need something to pass, but nobody can
agree on all the other shit that's going around it.
So will anything ever pass? It's kind of the question
that I'm asking. And Sankey
and Petiti saying, we're not talking about Super League.
We're just talking about leaving the NCAA independently.
Right. It's like, so then you
win?
And then if you guys plucked a couple of teams
from Big 12,
and from ACC
that wouldn't be a super league.
Kind of definition of a super league.
Yeah, would they still play for national...
They still play for national championships?
I think they would just call it a Super League
championship. And congratulations, you won a Super League national championship.
Or do they play the national championship? Is that inevitable?
Are we going to get some ruling, you think, in D.C. that gets some sort of ruling body?
Because the NCAA, they can rule on hamburgers.
They can rule on texting whenever you're not supposed to text,
but they can't rule on $10 million, $20 million,
because they just get sued immediately and they have no say in anything.
So all anybody wants is the NCAA have a little bit of power?
Is that accurate?
And do we think we're anywhere near that happening, Ms. Heather?
I'm going to give you my personal opinion.
And the answer is I don't.
And it's because I know how Congress works.
And it's a now or never deal right now.
Because if they can't find a compromise and get this done, the Senate's out of session
in August.
The senators fly home.
And then you're in an election year.
And I promise you, the new senators who are coming into their new ones,
office and the first day of work, the last thing they want to do is fix college athletics.
And so if this doesn't happen now and if it doesn't get to the Senate floor for a vote
this month, I personally will be shocked if it ever happens.
But Pat, you got to look at the Big 12 and Texas Tech and Brendan Soresby as an example
for the possibility.
Texas Tech, the NCAA reached a new low because they couldn't even enforce their own gambling
laws, right?
So the Big 12 said, hey, we're going to file this lawsuit.
We have our own laws and we should have the right to enforce them.
You can't gamble in our league and play football, right?
So to me, that was a big example of how conferences can try to regulate themselves.
That's not going to end all litigation.
There's lawsuits left and right all over the place.
But people in college athletics are sick of this.
They are tired of not being able to enforce rules.
including the very basic rule if you can't gamble in college sports,
especially on your own team.
It's all so interesting.
Because I guess if the conferences just kind of take their own control,
then what is the NCAA?
And then what rules are in and what rules aren't in?
And what does the SEC get to do that the Big Ten won't agree to?
Or what would the Big 12 do that maybe somebody else can't do?
I mean, come on.
I don't like you painting a picture of,
and then they go on recess where they don't do anything.
I don't know if they do anything on a daily basis.
Playground.
But then they actually, yeah, they go...
Monkey bars, yeah.
They get some chocolate milk,
and they get their crayons out,
and they do that entire thing.
And then we got an election year coming up,
so you know they're not...
Yeah, I don't give a shit about college football.
Yeah, there's no way they're going to be able to get that.
I don't like you doing all the very accurate things
that you were doing right there, okay?
Because I'm scared to death about...
I'm actually pretty scared about this.
Especially as somebody that has, you know,
even more so of a rooting interest in, like,
West Virginia at this point.
And I, like, I love the opportunities
that West Virginia is providing for a lot of dogs in football.
Super League, like West Virginia obviously get invited because of how awesome it is.
Sure.
Rich Rod.
Let's remember that.
I don't know.
Yeah, let's remember that.
Sankey, Petiti.
I don't know.
West Virginia is awesome.
Yes, they are.
That's what we need to continue to do.
Ucon isn't ever.
Colorado State, maybe.
We're figuring some stuff out.
No, Colorado State actually got U-Cauts, coach, which we did not expect.
We got our coach, all right?
Coach Candle.
Throughout the first pitch for Boston Red Sox.
actually.
How do you do?
Right before the 14th win.
What do you do? How do you do?
Burn it right down the middle.
He didn't throw it out last.
Yeah, he did.
Yeah, he did.
Got him a dub.
Did it skip or did it get you?
Of course not.
Right on the paint nibbling the edge is 91.
All right.
Well, you better watch it because you better watch it because Idaho State might need a coach.
Yeah.
And if they're seeing them pitch like that.
I don't know.
But the whole independent thing for five years that they were saying that you would have to do if you try to move up.
It's like obviously none of the schools are, you,
you can't potentially have to do. It's just
we need something, Heather, so why don't
go ahead and move that? Okay, let's go to
SEC Media Days, SEC football. Go ahead, Tone.
Yeah, Heather, let's get through the minutia.
All that's very, very fun to talk
about, but who is Lane
the bell of the ball? Is he the talk of
the town down at SEC Media Days this
week, or is someone else stealing the show?
Thank God of
football question. I love you guys.
Yeah, listen, Lane is always the
talk of the town. I can't wait until he gets
here because every time he speaks,
He makes a headline, but I'm honestly genuinely curious about how good their football team is going to be because you got a whole, you got a lot of talent.
You spend a gazillion dollars on your roster.
All the pieces are in place.
But you got Clemson coming in for the season opener.
I'm going to that game.
I can't wait.
But LSU plays the 11 toughest schedule in the entire country.
We know that game against Ole Miss is going to have playoff implications, other storylines.
I asked Lane this spring what his relationship is like with Pete Golding and Ole Miss.
and he said he had a one-liner he was going to use he declined to.
I'm hoping that at SEC Media Days here,
we got a little more out of him on what that relationship's like.
I'm excited for Lane to do anything.
Yeah.
He's just a lightning rod, this guy.
I didn't know enough about the college football landscape.
I definitely didn't know enough about Lane Kiffin as that was all happening last year.
And I was just talking about how I feel about the situation.
Little I know, I was about to end up in the middle of the entire conspiracy thing
that was going on to get him to wherever the hell he was going to go.
I mean, that was an interesting thing to find myself.
McAfee, save it.
Yeah, I'm like, well, I think he should stay at all in this.
I did think that.
I just didn't know why you would just sign up for the inevitable hell that was going to come from that,
especially in the middle of a playoff run out.
They could have won a national championship.
In my eyes, just in my naive mind is what people would tell me in college football.
In my naive mind, that felt like a really good spot.
in a place that, like, Signetti at Indiana,
this is your entire thing.
And then all the college football people were like,
yeah, right.
You can't turn down on that job.
Louisiana.
You can get down Louisiana.
Mississippi, you think they got?
There's a seven star that just got born in Louisiana.
He doesn't even know he's playing football yet.
And then guess what?
Another one.
Another one.
That is what they, that's how they basically talk about Louisiana.
and it's like, you talk about a statue at Ole Miss,
it's like Lane might win 100, okay?
Ed Orgren, who's back on staff.
Yes, he is.
Won a national championship there.
What do you think Lane's gonna be able to do?
It's basically the entire pitch from the football people,
and I'm like, all right, I guess it's a good play.
We're gonna find out.
And this transfer portal?
Yeah.
Yeah.
They did it.
Number one, all the recruits.
They did it.
Yeah.
I mean, everything that they said was gonna happen
with Lane there has happened.
Now we find out if it's gonna be on the field or not.
I'm just to know. Lane has kind of recently, because they always talk about the transfer portal and the recruits and the money that they spent.
He has kind of tried to temper expectations as of late.
So I'm excited to see how he comes out.
Well, that's not just for him.
That's also for the locker room.
Hey, listen, boys, we got to run our race here.
That's what he has to say as a coach.
I'm excited to watch it.
Heather, we cannot wait to get on the road this college football season.
We'll see you out there.
Thank you for joining us.
Sounds good.
Thanks, thanks, guys.
That's Heather Dene.
Thank you.
Heather.
Dude, how about just the NCAA having no power forever?
That's what it sounds like.
Would they like it, by the way?
Like, sweet, make your own conference.
We don't have to deal with it.
No, because then if you become irrelevant, then you lose your business.
I guess they can still run March Maddenous forever.
Yeah, but how does that work?
If the Big Ten and the SEC are leaving, does that mean that they only leave for football
and then they can still be involved in basketball?
That's interesting.
Can you say you guys can keep basketball and regulate volleyball and baseball and all of that?
Football we're taking away from you.
Because BCS came in and bought it from the NCAA.
You know, they bought the right to name a champion
because you were the BCS champion.
You weren't the national champion,
and you went to the NCAA headquarters.
The national champions were the D2.
D2.1. D1.
2A.
I don't know what they call them anymore.
The one below.
FCS now. Football subdivision.
There it is.
I apologize.
You know who I'm talking about.
They were the national champions at the NCAA headquarters.
It wasn't who was the BCS champion.
So they actually sold the rights to name a champion to the BCS.
And then obviously now it's college football.
They have a deal with NCAA, but the deal the NCAA has with its entire constituencies
Donnie hamburgers when you're not supposed to eat hamburgers.
Don't say their names either.
Listen, if they commit on a program and you're on a program just two minutes afterwards, don't even fucking say their name.
No.
It's go rule.
If you do, they send that kid to the rival school.
No, they can't do that because they ain't seen.
And that is not great for society, I would say.
That somebody can make a ruling and then immediately you can just sue them and then, you can just sue them and
not being able to have any power at all forever.
And that's kind of what's happening in the incident of layer right now.
Charlie Baker told us that whenever he was here.
We need some sort of litigation, give us some power.
Help.
That's what we need here.
All right.
We're coming up on a hard out here for the first hour.
Very thankful and lucky to be here.
Actual, very grateful and honored to be a part of ESPN for the foreseeable future.
We're lucky to do it.
We'll be back on the other side.
Be a friend, tell other friends.
Have nice.
Are the absolute greatest.
We're so incredibly lucky and thankful that we get a chance to chat about it
every single day and that only happens
because of all of
uh...
we're grateful for that
the doc step was here at boss Connor and at time Schmidt
one half of the hammer
Cowboys A Pton is here nine year NFL event
Darius Jay Butler is here debuckers
yeah sir yeah great to be here man we're so
so close I almost came this close
to in football
I was actually thinking about this morning when it's
kind of happened yeah yeah because what
we guys had what did you guys say last month
day. It was dongs.
Yeah, big dong. Big old
dong. Big don't. Do you remember that?
Some people did say, yep.
Espies. Big Vaney.
Espies.
Last week.
I don't think I heard Big Vaney.
Someone did.
I don't know.
I did not hear that.
Was that him?
Absolutely.
Steve was idea.
World Cup trophy keep popping up on my name.
Well, yeah, that's a little much.
What are you talking about that thing?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Me in seventh grade for no reason at all.
Yeah, on the bus rolling in.
Interesting.
Yeah, I've seen a lot of that inflatable penis-looking trophy.
Certainly go fully erect out there before.
A great halftime performance.
I didn't know how much the World Cup halftime performance was going to get scrutinize.
I thought it was fine.
There's a lot of people talking about it.
There's a lot of people talking about it.
Chris Martin?
I appreciate everything.
Shakira, Shakira?
I mean, there was a good question to ask.
How come Madonna did it get out on the field?
She was just in the tunnel?
Yeah, that car?
Rinaldo driving the car?
That was comedy.
Yeah, I don't know.
And then Bebes, by the way, just him and a guitar.
Yep.
It's all Bebs needs.
Exactly.
He should have played a slower song.
I think so.
I was let down by Bees.
Yeah, I was hoping.
What you guys want?
Baby.
No.
No.
Is it too late?
How about Despicito?
Yeah.
Oh, that would have been awesome.
Especially because.
Yeah.
If you played Sorry.
Is it too.
Sorry.
What if you wanted to do that?
Played Hallelujah.
Okay, let everybody know.
Of Lord.
Appreciate the Lord.
Appreciate that.
And then what if he goes?
Because everybody's like,
come on.
This is getting boring.
And he's like,
do they
and all right
no not to like keep done
this thing's 27 28 minutes long I think
yeah is this the longest half time
it was of all time
it feels like we got 45 different
chapters here I love everything about it
shout to the World Cup
shout
Johnny I didn't know his name
I didn't know that's how that was pronounced it looks like it's Gianni
but I heard the president
just call him Johnny did a good job
hey Johnny I guess I'm the super genius for saying
yeah Johnny let's do it
he said that
straight face right in. We already filed for the next one.
Yeah, and I think we're trying to get the next one after that too,
because I think Johnny, if I'm not mistaken, is trying to get
400 countries into this thing. That's full.
As many as we can get, let's get the March Madness tournament packed.
And I'll tell you this, if it's going to fill up more nights
of just games and atmospheres that we saw throughout the entirety of this particular
World Cup across our country and Mexico and Canada, I'm about about it.
Those types of environments are awesome.
I think I can watch anything if it had that environment.
I'm being 100% serious.
If they were playing that game, that Ryan,
Fox's granddaddy play cricket is that this one yeah yeah yeah I'd have to learn the rules but
yeah but if the atmosphere was buzzing the entire time I think you you could catch me
watching that thing you could hit backwards and still fine yeah but I think you're playing I think
it's like rundown we play like rundown how you got to get back in the core yeah before they yeah
and I think a deflection hit does count as one but you got to be able to really yeah you got to
be able to split the wickets big time yeah over the top straight and then puk yep and then I reset
Look, who we go?
It's like Jason Hanson hitting those kickoffs.
That guy used to run from the 10-yard gone.
I'm joining this.
Ladies and gentlemen, is a man
as a college football national champion,
Super Bowl champion,
Ryder Cup winner.
AJ Hawk.
Hawker love Ryan Fox.
I don't know if you got a chance
to hear our conversation with him.
I love that lad down there from New Zealand.
Yeah, how can you not?
I mean, everything about him.
It's just how he carries himself.
And I love how you talked about his swing over and over again,
just how unique it is, I guess.
But I thought it was very honestly,
like, that's a real thing.
Like, how about you?
Like, now you prove to yourself that this works.
Like, how you play what you do, your pace.
Like, now you're justified for the rest of your life.
Like, yeah, it can be done this way.
We don't have to take three months over every shot.
Now, golf is a fickle, fickle game.
He even mentioned that.
There's a chance that he might have to change his swing at some point.
Like, that happens to golfers.
Golfers have to change their swings because, you know, they start thinking,
start overthinking.
And then it becomes paralysis by overanalysis,
which is why he tries not to think at all.
But there will come sometime where something will happen.
We'll see it and we'll go,
is he going to have to adjust?
And I would like to say after meeting him, talking to him, he's a rugby lad.
He loves that there's 42 beers.
I think he'll be just fine.
I think this guy's going to be just fine going forward.
And I kind of like latching my saddle to the fox horse.
Yeah.
I kind of like that I've done that.
Yeah, because I got the fox horse in the barn almost.
And it's like, hey, we need to saddle that bad boy and ride that New Zealander.
I don't think he would like this on his back.
You know, he said he's got a hip.
Yeah, right.
He could do it.
But he would figure it out if he had to get us.
I just noticed, though, he's one golfer.
I don't think you asked him to analyze your swing.
Well, because it is his swing.
Yeah.
He was saying, I already know it.
I think it looks perfect.
Yeah.
I mean, I just, everything I've been told with like.
Perfect swing pot.
They're like, hey, don't look like a C.
You know, they say, you look like a C.
We need you not to look like a C because you're never going to be able to hit the ball.
Remember, you're supposed to hit the ball first.
So they always say, I get four lean on that thing.
You can't go back like this.
And Ryan Fox's like, shot it.
please I'm taking that thing
and I'm going to go I'm going to go through
the ground with it I still don't know how he's
getting compression on that ball like that
but we'll figure it out we'll get to the bottom of it
somewhere we'll get to the bottom of it for sure
it's just like the toilet's down under you do everything
opposite and it just works for them but also
Australia's down under
two different countries yeah you get
and continents for me it's the same
but that's the other thing too you mentioned it
with the kind of you win one major
like he's basically New Zealand
John Daly. Like he is good forever.
I don't know what Hooters situation they
have there. Maybe it is.
Great one. But he should be the face of it immediately.
And it feels like he's a blue collar golfer.
They call Kiwis.
From a blue collar town.
No, nobody's lost.
Not nobody's found.
J.D. when a legend.
Hope you good, John. Hope life is good.
Love you, John. We're going to pivot away from golf
and now we're going to go to award season.
Oh.
Yeah, I have to do it.
Ladies you gentlemen, it's first time we've ever done this.
AJ, I don't even know if you know this is happening.
We'll see.
Nice haircut.
I think I know.
I think I have a good idea.
I got a one-sheater with it, yeah.
Okay, I just want to let you know you have a great haircut right now.
I'm happy you got dressed up for this occasion.
I'm happy that you look incredibly fresh right now
because we're giving out our first ever real big-time award.
Huge.
Debo, we're kind of nervous about this, isn't?
I am.
We start to worry about, like, how important things become.
whenever we just create them out of nowhere
because you want to do something? Correct.
But only one person has ever
been named what we're about the name. So this might
be... It's like our Lifetime Achievement Award.
Yeah. Yeah, what do they call those things? The
big ones that they win in those awards?
The big award.
Super Bowl MVP?
Aspen. Oskies.
Oscars? No, the one.
The World Peace one. Oh, Nobel.
Peace Prize. Yeah. We're not
saying this on a same level. A pool. It's pretty fucking
close, though.
Pollard, yeah.
Like, legit.
It's like being on the front of time, first of the year.
Okay, we're not saying that, but could be, because we've only given one.
I don't know how many they've given a lot.
Sure.
Some of those, sometimes questionable.
Ladies and gentlemen, congratulations.
Well, and also, the ones on the magazine, they say most impactful, whether good or bad.
So I think it's different than us.
We are giving this award because they've earned this award.
Yeah, right.
Okay, so I think maybe not that magazine.
No bad people earn it, too.
They got to do some stuff.
But not this award.
No, not this one.
This is the Nobel
It's the air apparent to the
Nobel Peace Prize.
There it is.
I mean, wow.
And that's our first one?
Yes, yes, ladies and gentlemen,
we'd like to announce
our first ever,
first team, all-time, good guy,
JJ Ward.
Wow!
We saw this,
JJ obviously,
should have potentially won this award already
for what he did for the city of Houston
and everything that he has done.
But if he saw,
you saw what he did to that Utah soccer team when they left his wife off the post. Oh my God.
I read that. I just thought to myself, yes. Thank you for doing that, by the way, JJ.
But also, I appreciate the fact that we got to learn a little bit about Keelia here.
Monster. Yeah.
Four-time state champ.
Wide.
In that state that they're in. Obviously, national player of the year. I think they scored first goal right here in massive, pivotal moment.
maybe you give her a little bit of shot on, okay?
Because I'm at home, and it says hell.
Okay, so he says that, and then we go, wow, JJ, how can it become an even better guy right now?
Don't worry.
Lad tweets him and says, hey, man, I was just in the same place as you.
I didn't want to bother you or whatever.
JJ responded and said, where are you at, dude?
You still in the area?
JJ goes and gets a beer with this random guy.
Crazy.
It just goes and gets over and he goes and meets up with this guy, tweets him.
Yeah, it could be a psycho killer.
Could be.
Could be.
Could be.
Could be psycho killers.
Hey, Jay, I'm watching you.
Okay, I see where you're at.
I just didn't want to come interrupt you.
Judge goes, hey, listen, man, where are you at?
Let me go.
Meets up with him.
It's like, hey, you know what, Jake?
Your first team all-time good guy.
Yeah.
That's JJ Wally's gentleman.
Let's go, Jay.
Call him, we like an acceptance speech from JJ.
Let's see if he's able to answer it.
The old-time good guy would want to answer it this example.
Definitely.
And give an acceptance speech.
Don't forget.
He put Freddie up in that beautiful hotel suite up in Houston.
I mean, this dude.
FIFA German fan, Freddie.
That's what we're saying, though.
like only one first team all time good guy.
Yeah.
J.J. Watt.
Yeah.
We're lucky he's representing the NFL.
We're lucky he's representing football.
Ladies and gentlemen,
joining us now to give an acceptance speech for an award that I'm not sure he knew he won or not.
JJ Walt.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Jay, Jay, Jay, Jay, Jay, Jay, Jay, Jay, Jay, Jay, Jay, Jay.
Look at his other words up here.
We'll send you one.
We'll send you one.
Make room.
Yeah, yeah, you'll have to clear off the shelves, brother.
Get off the show.
First team all time, good guy.
JJ, Watt.
JJ, you had a great weekend of Good Samaritaning.
Okay, I want to let you know.
And chivalry is nowhere near dead.
Can you just talk a little bit about you being the first team, all-time, good guy, that our potential society needs.
We didn't know this award was needed, but we need you to know that we know, first team.
This guy.
We got a slow, slow, slow news day over there.
on the ESPN airwaves, huh?
No.
No.
Not true.
I mean, besides the fact that
you're getting $100 million in the world.
Oh, okay.
Okay, Jake, please.
You're taking everybody off the network.
Don't do that. Take it away!
You're going to lose the award with what you're doing.
Now, on that note,
there was no one else in close.
Actually, the gimmick was going to be
if he didn't act like that, but now
maybe we need to, and I would like to let you know,
Jage, don't be reading the internet like yet.
Okay, you're smarter.
Oh, I read it all.
What?
Did they buy NFL network this year?
Who?
They did.
Did they?
That's crazy.
Did they keep anybody?
Or is everybody fired to pay you?
I was trying to figure it out.
That's not funny.
That's not funny.
We do not like that.
We do not appreciate that.
That is the narrative,
and I'm certainly taking it on the shins.
The boys and I are very proud of the work that we have done.
Thanks a lot, Moana.
Good God.
I mean, come on.
All right, okay.
Just playing a hedge with Doomsday or whatever.
Okay, all right.
We're not getting in the...
any of that, but we-
My YouTube TV didn't work for a while too.
Okay, all right.
Don't forget that.
It's quite the dispute.
Please.
Now, on-
Good news.
It was a long time.
It was a lot of money.
But on that note,
we hate anytime this happens.
Obviously, this is terrible.
We don't like that,
but we are very honored
that we are still partnering
with ESPN and Disney
for the good of sport,
for the future.
And I hate this.
Like, we actually hate,
when we first got there was one of,
it feels like this happens
in corporations a lot,
kind of getting baptized,
in this, NFL teams don't really do this, you know, so we're not really in there.
The first time we licensed the show through ESPN, one of these happened, we got blamed for
it all. It's like, blame us. Okay. Okay. Thank you. I feel like you don't, I feel like you
don't fully understand budgets and where things are coming from, but I do appreciate that.
This time we're getting blamed as well, which I guess I can understand, but I mean,
there's billions and billions of dollars in these companies. And, uh,
Hard decisions have to get made, and we don't like any of them.
And we hope we're an asset to the company going forward.
Hope we continue to be an asset to the company and an asset to sport as a whole.
But hate all of it.
I mean, we learned about Ryan yesterday.
Obviously, I think everybody did.
Ryan's good to us.
Ryan Clark obviously been around ESPN a long time.
Carl Ravich today.
Just on the show.
Friend of the program.
Like it's Palisero.
It's not a fun day.
Yeah.
Palisera.
That's not fun for sports as a whole.
But now I do feel like, from my understanding,
a lot of places are getting into the sports world in a big way.
So hopefully there's softer landings for people than there ever has been in the past.
But yeah, it's crazy time in the biz, honestly, Judge.
And thanks for just reading the Internet and just assuming that they're right.
I'm here to ask the questions the people are asking.
I'm looking at the Internet and seeing what's going on.
And they want to know, Pat's making a lot of cash.
I mean, they're mad that gum.
They're mad that Gump was working in the shipyards
from the past and now he's making money.
Gump, it's your, you're the problem.
Your come up is the problem.
Thanks, Jay's first team. All-time, good guy, you are.
No, on that note, he is Canadian.
Yeah.
Yeah, I can't have a program.
I didn't even think about potential.
He didn't make it past the first round, so I don't even know.
Oh, I like that.
We're doing just based off a real couple.
I'm just talking about in general.
That Canadian's taking an American job back here.
Oh, that is true.
Yeah, certainly doing that.
But there's no American that could do this.
You have to be.
specifically trained in the
bowels of a ship in Canada for 16 years
huffing paint
huffing paint in digesting
content and with your
splunking camera on
let me get to the bottom of it
Paul oh they're saying terrible things
about these people thank you don't tell me what they're saying
about me oh I can't yeah
don't forget the sandblast dust either
that was kind of the touch of gold
oh yeah I forgot you huff sand
yeah you got to take it my sandblast though
anyways judge first team all time good guy
and this is what you decide to do.
You know what?
You know what we're going to do
because we are honoring you as a good guy?
We're actually going to give ourselves an award.
We were going to say,
we're a second team all the time of a guy.
Because we're acknowledging you.
I like to.
And how, you know, you're such a good guy.
Good job, everybody.
I thought we did it.
You know, I guess we're honored you.
But turns out.
Do we win?
Who's going to give the speech?
Who's going to give the speech?
Somebody's got to do it.
You got first place, Jage, you.
Yeah, first team.
Okay.
I will give the speech.
What an honor it is to be on this stage right now here today.
First, I want to take an opportunity to say thank you to, and congratulations to all of the other nominees in this category.
Gump, everybody there, Ty, Connor, you are not on that list.
You are not even close to that list.
What's the prince ever there?
The red-headed one?
Harry.
He was on the list.
Who else?
Boom, Berman.
But Chris Berman was on to live.
Adam Sandler was definitely a finalist.
I don't think Blockie.
I just want to say this award is not about me.
Actually, it is 100% about me.
So I will take all credit and responsibility for this.
I'm going to put the award right up there at the very top of the trophy case.
There's two empty spots because I'm already planning for next years as well.
Oh, that's, oh. Don't be assuming that, pal. We've never had a back to back.
If you come for the king, you best not miss. So anybody out there look gunning for this award,
you better be prepared to meet up at a lot of dive bars and drink a lot of beers with people you've never met.
And you just hope that when you show up, they're not going to stab you in the chest.
Yeah, and obviously this like Facebook marketplace you kind of did here with this guy.
And we appreciate you doing that. That's why you are who you are.
And if you're looking to take this title of first team all-time good guy for next year,
I think you need to start setting up situations, you know, like to have on that ABC show,
what would you do?
You need to start flooding JJ's walks with old people, see if you help them across the street.
You know, get that on camera, you know, start setting them up.
Have somebody come rob a store that JJ's in.
There you go.
There you go.
Or just kind of sits back idly and watches it happen.
You know, these are things if you want to get the title, you're going to have to really go for.
Start setting up some tripos and intersections.
and just hoping that grandmas are coming through, you know?
Oh, bring a bus in. Bring a bus in.
Just see what, he only got two arms.
Going after another.
See what he could do with it all.
We appreciate you, Jade.
We hope you're great.
That is very cool.
We'd like to let you know that.
Thank you for being a good guy and representing.
It was cool.
It was cool.
He's from Australia, very Australian.
It is a very interesting situation, man,
because you never know, like,
I'm starting to learn, you know, more like,
this guy could have been bullshit in me.
I could have walked into a very weird situation.
but so far I'm very fortunate that almost every single one of these situations I've ever been in,
everybody's been unbelievably cool, and I'm very much better for the experience.
So that guy was awesome.
He said he was flying back to Australia on Monday, so I hope he had a safe trip back home.
It was cool.
I appreciate you saying that every time you do this, it's been cool.
So this isn't the only time.
That's why this guy, first team, all-time good guy.
Thank you, Jake.
Good good, guys.
Thanks, guys.
I'll send you my address.
Yeah, we actually got a trophy for you.
I don't know if you know that we mocked one up for you.
You got to let us know if you think it's good or not.
What do you think?
That's great.
Love it.
I mean, that guy, but we don't know, is he on there?
What is his good guy's ass?
Yeah, you're right.
The one-man award, guys.
I mean, let's not just go crowning people.
We should do a deep dive on this guy and try to cancel him.
You're right, JJ.
Good idea.
Just like everyone did with Freddie.
That happens to everybody that has their moment in his son.
Let's see how he was as a 14-year-old real quick.
I think we should just have Jage with his arm out like this because we put,
we give people their own figure.
You step in.
And they put it in there whenever they went, if anybody ever wins it.
Like a little, we give a little bobblehead.
We put in there, and Jage is basically like, come on.
You know, they get the first team all-time good guy.
And because even old good guy wouldn't have had the beer on the trophy because I would have been like,
no, you can't have a beer.
that's bad kids everything like learning growing trying well that's 30% look 20%
15% concentrated power of will 5% pleasure 50% pain 100% reason to be a good guy hell yeah well
and remain the same be a friend tell a friend something fantastic love your life live your life
all right all right all right don't know it you're not the trophy yet ladies
gentlemen j j j j waltz unbelievable that's what
you get that when you roll the dice of a cold call to the all-time good guy?
Yeah.
Is it now the JJ Watt Award since he wins the first one?
Should we have a human award or should be a shape?
Like the SB? It's kind of just like a shape.
Like a circle?
Like a shape of JJ?
Maybe a heart.
Yeah, because part of that was like you'd almost have to have him like choke slamming Ryan Smith
because, you know, it was his, well, he owns that soccer team, right?
Oh, yeah.
And they kind of had the big F-up that made him say like, oh, okay.
Okay, you're going to make me have to deal with this?
Do you hate women? Is it only guys who win this award?
No, there's a bunch of women who are up for it.
There's a bunch of women who are guys.
Where's the Good Woman Award?
There's a bunch of good guys that are women.
What if we put-A-R-R-Tierre?
Yeah, I said, that's a good guy, right?
Yeah, you're right.
Remember some of the things that, yeah, there is plenty of women.
Abby Wombach was nominated last year.
Sophie Cunningham.
For the Good Guy Award?
Sophie Cunningham's up for it.
Good Human.
I don't like that.
Asia Wilson's up for it.
She needs her own award.
Asia Award?
The Good Woman Award.
Okay, listen.
I was just going to say,
a bunch of good guys out here.
It sounds like this guy wants to win the good guy award.
Yeah, are you, man.
Is it the good person award now?
There we go.
That works.
These freaking people, man.
I will say the trophy does,
I'm not saying it.
I'm not saying it.
Let's move along.
No reason on this particular day to dabble in what I thought would not have been.
Should everyone get the award to him?
No, yeah.
You want to say about happy butt.
One woman, one man.
Ladies and gentlemen, join us now.
Talk to us about sports.
that is happening, but we can't hear a word he's going to say.
Again, fuck, me.
All right, let's talk about things that are happening around the sports world.
Listen, obviously, sports are vast, sports are awesome,
and there's a bunch of things we haven't been able to talk about that we need to at least say
this is happening so others can see it and understand in case it comes up in a conversation.
Sure.
Things happen around sports world.
Brexton Bush, Kyle Busch's son.
He won his first race this weekend.
I believe that is obviously a dirt track.
I don't know if that's a sprint car or not.
Very dangerous racing.
Now obviously there are different styles of racing.
You got the go-karts and then there's a dirt track
and then there's a straight line racing.
Then there's overracing a street course race and there's a bunch of different styles of racing.
Brexton Bush climbing up through the ranks.
Wins his first big race drifting that thing onto dirt.
That thing is a constant drift if you're doing it right.
Obviously have the ability to flip on regular basis.
We've seen these out in Indiana a bunch of times.
in the atmosphere around it, good times.
A lot of people fixing those engines in trailers outside,
which Brexton actually talked about.
You know, my dad used to help me through it all.
Brexton wins his first race.
Hey, as us being former friends and friends of your father, Brexton,
let's go, boy.
Hell yeah, Bruce.
Let's go, boy.
Let's go win this thing.
Let's get to a vertical jump now.
Didn't know humans were able to do this.
Darius Clark at Shaq's Dunkman League,
53-inch vert with a step in, obviously.
Don't know what it's.
exactly are the rules and regs for avert because he stepped in and moved there touching 53 inches up there being able to leap that high absurd ridiculous and uh shout out to darius clark and uh debut
i mean who was the wide receiver from tennessee we had a wire receiver from tennessee uh direct rogers yes
this guy der rick rogers we had touched the ceiling of our gym okay we had a we had a gym at the colds jumped in touched the ceiling of it
insane athlete. It was the highest jump I had ever seen in my entire life. I wonder how he or
others would have been able to participate in this type of event. Love the checks doing it.
Yeah. Love that D. Clark got a chance to soar, D. Bud.
Just, this was in the group chat over the weekend. Just football players in general, I would like
to see a lot of Byron Jones, a guy that went to Yukon after me. I jumped 43 at the Combine,
which is just a standingvert for football players, and he went and jumped something. I think
45 is like 12 feet in the broad jump, broke all type of world records. But if we had,
had the opportunity to do a running vert, I would like to see, you know, what those numbers would be
because, but, I mean, regardless, this is very, very, very impressive.
That angle, too, with the rim back there, it looked like.
Yeah, bingo.
His whole chest is over the damn rim.
That is unbelievable here from Dairns Clark.
Congratulations, Darius Clark, obviously spectacular.
Let's go to Saturday night's main event in Madison Square Garden.
World champ, Carl Anthony Town says J.D. McDonough, Big Head to the sky, to the man.
Monster choke slam and then oh dirty dom how but you catch a little bit of this as well
Through the table
Unbelievably effortless and obviously Danhausen is on an incredible run he cursed Argentina which is why Spain won and obviously he cursed
Everybody but the Knicks through the playoffs. They go on to win and then Danhousin
Gaget D D for JD McDonald 1 2 3 at S n S nm
E in MSG as K-A-T.
Chokeslams a couple punks
through the ring. I love
what happened here. And he looked comfortable.
He looked confident. And I would say
there's been a lot of celebrities that have gotten involved.
You can tell he likes the product and he's
a mark because the way he delivered this guy.
Yeah, and even just the end of the celebration.
Being able to just chill in the ring, I feel
like it gets a skill and he's just lounging.
Right here. He's kind of taking it in, doing a little
crowdwork, pumping everybody up for
Dan has. And I do hope.
especially knowing Tom Brady as well as we do.
I'm sure he's checking this tape because if he is going to get involved,
Kat is a perfect example.
And after meeting Dan Housen, I just know J.D. McDonough is hurting after that one
because he's a big son of a bitch.
For certain, Thousand, yeah.
I mean, he's a real deal.
I thought it was good appearance by Kat.
Yeah.
Presidents in the ring.
Everything about it was great.
And he walked onto the, like he just kind of took a step.
He was up there and he took a step and he was over to rope.
and then immediately big head McDonough's coming in there, bang, the boom, and the power.
How about how high he lifted McDonough?
Yeah, you up there.
Up there.
Yeah, I mean, because he's what, seven, what?
Seven foot, seven one.
And he's up above his head.
So, I mean, the amount of power, J.D. McDonough just flopping around, too.
I mean, have a little bit of strength, because he's in about eight feet up there.
Yeah.
And that's his cat just, get over here.
Come here, you, little fucker.
Come here, yeah.
And then you just, this brought me back.
Remember, that's all cat there.
Yeah.
Remember, that is all cat there.
I got questions.
I know AJ always has the fight question.
Like, hey, why are you showing your punches?
But, like, was Dom not ready for this?
You just saw JD getting in.
I mean, it's kind of mind-blown?
How would you feel, man?
There's a seven-footer in there.
Never see a guy that big.
Dom's ever been in the ring with freaking Andre the Giant.
Kind of walked right into it.
Tom kind of grew up around a bunch of really tall guys.
But I think he was kind of shocked that
Harold Anthony Towns was that strong.
Because, AJ, just like you and I were talking about there,
J.D. McDonough?
he's doing nothing there
nothing that's
he got cat lift him over his head
watch this like his whole body is almost over his head
it's crazy because jd doing nothing there
and cat just with one hand right here
and somehow grabbing him by his casual
lifts him from the ground because jd doesn't want to go into the sky
no i don't see so cat lifts his ass up that high like that
jd's a professional he does this every day cat steps in there literally boom to bang
to pal and all by himself with no help from jd lifts him up to the sky
and then says, good night, big head, boom.
That's wonderful.
No, absolutely.
And it's one of those things where, yeah, Dom has been around a lot of big guys,
but, you know, he might be thinking, wait a minute, is Drew McIntyre's hike gimmicks?
Because I'm hearing that he's 6-9, 320 pounds when he's coming to the ring.
If that's the case, Carl Anthony Towns is fucking 7-8 and weighs 700 pounds.
You think Dom's calculating all that?
I think he is in real time, yeah, and he's thinking,
how am I going to get away from a guy who's 7-foot-8 and weigh 700 pounds?
Well, then how about J.D getting that D-D there through them?
I mean, he's just kind of getting ragged all around.
Yeah.
That is JD football.
You said this was made you?
It felt like Saturday night's main event.
Okay, gotcha.
I will say if J.D. McDonough is in there, there's a, I have a sneaky suspicion that whoever else is in there is going to look really good, like really good.
What about J.D. versus the Mizz?
Have they fought?
You mean Mike?
You mean the Luz-Lose match?
You mean the Mike?
You mean the Mike Mizzenen?
Yeah.
Did he change it?
Did I miss something?
He's thinking about it.
I got pitched a light.
Yeah, there's a better Mizz right now.
Guys throwing 105 and a half miles an hour.
Yeah.
Might be.
He always is.
Might be the, all the time.
Might be the greatest pitcher of all time when it's all said and done, like,
bar none.
And he just so happens to have a pretty similar pronunciation of his last name.
He does.
And Mike Mizzenden's been losing, and now he's going to lose his name.
That's how you know he's on a bad streak.
The Mizz comes up to us.
He goes, I'm not even going to say what he said.
Come on.
I'm going to say it.
You have to.
It's awesome.
I don't think...
In his defense, I don't think it was his idea.
I think it might have been some people who were around him saying,
you got to sue this guy.
He's using your name.
And we were kind of all just like, yeah, that's a losing battle.
Mike, you're going to want to maybe drop that because this guy, the Miz,
this guy's fucking unreal.
He's next level.
He's one of one.
And I think by the end of the conversation, Mike kind of came around to it.
Good.
The Mike is a good one.
We have to tell the mic.
The mic on the mic.
Yeah, he's good on the mic.
The mic is sweet.
The mic, it was,
think of,
think of the mic in that moment
of us telling him that.
Think of that entire interaction.
I mean,
the fact that even,
it would cross his mind
to take action.
So he said,
he said,
you guys would know.
That's how he started.
And it was like,
all right,
here we go.
He was holding a drink too.
You guys would know,
this guy's taking my name.
The Miz?
And I'm like,
you're talking about the pitcher.
He goes,
yeah, I got people telling me I should sue him.
We all, Mike.
Don't do that. Mike, please.
This is the guy. This is the one or whatever.
He's probably a fan of yours. He goes, is he?
The mic gets a little bit, you know?
So good luck to the mic, man.
Love the mic.
It was great. Your Mike. Seaton 2, coming soon.
Of the mic?
Oh, no, he sent me a link.
The mic on gladiators.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah. I'm sorry.
Yeah.
He sent me a link of 50 episodes.
episodes of Miz and Mrs.
You lucky son of him.
1.30 a.m. after we talked to
him. He goes, excuse me, Ms. and
Mrs. has 50 episodes. I said, I've seen them
all. He goes, I'm going to make sure you do.
And I said, how are you going to do that? He said, I'm going to send him to you.
I got him. And then an hour and a half later,
I get a link. I'm laying down.
I get a link. Miss and Mrs.
50 episodes link right here.
And it's like, you are, the mic is
the greatest. The Mike and Mrs.
Also. Great show.
Not bad at all. Yeah.
season. Let's go to a Scottish lad who broke a 27-year record, a man who called his shot. He had Project
222 that started in an attempt to run a 342 mile. 343 was the record since the 90s. Josh Kerr
runs a 342-6-8. Now, I think the incredible thing is obviously the humans are able to do that.
Mile is so far. So to be able to do that in three minutes and 42 seconds is crazy.
1954 was the first sub four minute mile.
So if you think about humans since 1954 until now, 70-some years,
haven't really trimmed off that much time.
Obviously half a minute is a huge deal,
but I'm just saying you would have expected that to be a much bigger jump.
Getting to 342 was obviously a dream of a lot of track people forever.
His shoes were the 222 Brooks something,
his shirt, his suit that he was wearing was a 222 model.
Project 222 is what he was doing.
So this dude actually called his shot,
went out and did it in front of 60,000 people in London.
And incredible stories, yeah.
I think it was packed out stadium.
Yeah, so incredibly pumped for him.
And this is beautiful to watch any type of record get broke.
But to be honest, as I was researching it,
I thought humans would have evolved athletically more than we have.
But I guess that's just a testament to how good they were back then
and how good any increment of advancement we should view in the modern day.
That's just crazy.
That might be the most impressive thing of all time.
3.42.
27 years.
What's the limit?
Got to be a limit, right?
Like, what's the fastest
could run a mile?
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Before, like, your heart explodes or like, I mean,
60 miles an hour the entire time is what it averaged.
And he ran a 13-900.
That's crazy.
For the entirety.
Insane.
Yeah.
And then there was another one.
3-43, by the way, was in 1990.
Look at him.
So totally, he's running around.
Like he's not even breathing.
Yeah.
Five-second.
Yeah, I think it was five-something-second 40s, if I looked it up.
Like, just for the entire.
Constant.
That's nuts.
And then I guess his 1500 out of this was also...
Yeah, ridiculous.
I guess that's next.
I guess he would have broke the 1500 record as well,
but I guess that is coming up matched for him.
They assume that that is what he's going to get into.
Shout to Josh Kerr doing that.
But you would think with the advancements of shoes and technology and track and everything,
because they're run on what, dirt?
Yeah, for a long time, yeah.
So you think with the clay, I'm sorry, whatever the fuck the technical shit is.
But like, you would think that that would be a big jump.
Rippin Sigs back then, too?
3.59.
in 1954. Imagine what that guy.
Oh, man. It's probably drinking
a nice cold beer while he's going around.
Congrats to Josh. Let's go to
Cavanaugh boys. La Crosse is taking place.
Conman, love that lacrosse is happening. Certainly knew that as soon as I
saw this highlight pop up. Yeah, me too. I was watching this thing for sure,
and it's just unbelievable. That's just Patty Kavanaugh football.
That's the grit that he's basically grew up with on Long Island,
proving it right there. And also, they're having a hell of a year.
The Denver Outlaws are having.
having a hell of year.
Him and O'Neill, who won the Tuaritan.
One of his years are now on the same team.
Pretty fantastic stuff.
Eli Heidenreich, who I had the incredible opportunity
to deliver the Pat Tillman Award alongside to Scott Ruskin,
stud from the Coast Guard.
His girlfriend is the female Tawaritan winner.
Yeah, the star from Johns Hopkins, I believe, or UNC.
Yeah, because she had a highlight goal that we actually showed
on things that aren't asked during the final four of the tournament.
We'll go to another superstar.
Let's go to Canada.
15-year-old who's 7'6 playing hoops with an incredibly ridiculous haircut.
Let's assume that this guy is going to be a problem.
This is Jeremy Goh here, and I'll tell you what, you go there whenever he is on his way.
Congrats to him having an NBA career.
I think a lot of people saying if you're playing in Canada at this age,
you're probably not going to be great, but I think he has a lot of pride in being down there.
Let's assume he's had an IMG next week to kind of get all of
on the entire, I'm taller and more athletic than I'm supposed to be at this age.
Let's go ahead and take the most advantage of it.
He's got handles.
He's got a vicious attitude.
And that haircut tells me he's down for whatever.
I believe I saw that he's actually going to whatever, you know, like youth academy that
Vic Wembeignana went to.
So he's not going to IMG.
So we'll see.
I have a tough time believing that this guy's going to be a threat in the NBA.
Maybe that's just me not wanting to believe it because of the haircut.
How could he not be?
He like staring down like five foot five kids for sure.
That's his fault.
He might get taller. He might get a couple inches taller.
He's called him a little boy right there, AJ.
I like his mentality. I like how he's moving.
And you're right, AJ.
15, he might still grow to like 7, 8.
He could gain a...
This dude could gain 100 pounds of muscle over the next five years, honestly.
I think he will.
I love that.
I love a fucking bully.
That's exactly what you're supposed to do to those.
He's begging for a tick.
What do you still?
And that's what Wemby does, right?
And that's what Wemby does, too?
Wemby's pretty a bit of a dog.
Is that the soccer thing?
The Ronaldo triangle thing.
It's...
Let's not say it. Ladies' gentlemen.
Orioles pitcher, this guy had World Cup fever.
I don't know if you saw.
Orioles pitcher throws gas.
Alvarez hits right back out of the bike.
Kick save and a beauty.
You're out at first.
Love that.
Had to hurt.
Yeah, definitely.
Had it hurt the foot a little bit.
Young obviously pulls it off, plays it off.
That's only his fifth pitch in there.
So he was on his toes early.
How many kick saves do we normally see in this particular thing?
and how many pitchers are told, stay away from the ball whenever it comes back up the middle?
Well, not that meant you.
You've got to be able to field your position.
That's a big part of it.
I've never seen that happen before, ever.
You'll see guys deflect it to, like, the shortstop or the third basement or so.
I've never seen someone just a beautiful touch right up to themselves and then throw it to first.
I've never seen that before.
I don't know if we'll ever see it again.
Joining us now, ladies gentlemen, a senior MLB insider for ESPN, friend of the program, ladies and gentlemen,
Jet Passing.
Jet, thank you for battling through with us with the audio.
We think it potentially was on your side, but we will take blame, obviously.
Blame us.
That's kind of what's happening right now.
Blame us.
Blame us.
100% on me.
Pat, when you reach your mid-40s, technology starts defeating you.
And there is no worse feeling in the world than knowing that you are officially in old.
And I am in old now.
Like, it was all I had to do was just go up to a menu, change one thing.
And my dumbass is incapable of doing that now.
Like, I feel like Connor on a daily basis.
Jay!
You have no idea, Jed.
I got diagnosed with freaking shingles today, dude.
I mean, it's just...
You want to talk about being old, but...
You want to talk about a nightmare.
I feel like I'm 65, brother.
It's all right.
There's nothing that important coming around in Florida.
Thanks a lot, Hal Burton.
Yeah, I'm getting married on Saturday.
This guy's screwed me.
Okay.
It's in a place where you'll be able to handle it pretty easily, right?
Yeah, who knows how these things work?
Who knows how these things are.
No, I'm just talking about it.
It's something that, like, normally you're pretty icky, right?
Connor, do you actually have shingles?
Yeah, dude.
Why would I just, I don't lie up here.
Well, you say some things about it.
And someone's actually marrying you.
Yeah, I know.
And this is going to blow it, man.
Thanks.
Hold on a second.
Hold on a second.
We have really good producers in the back who can go find these sorts of things.
Go look up Tony Larusa shingles and show a photo of this.
Connor, I really, truly hope.
I like, all kidding aside, this is...
I don't think we should show that.
I remember that.
You guys got a wedding this week out.
You most certainly should.
No, no, no, no, no.
Oh, my God.
Looks like Two-Face.
What year was that?
Show it, show it, show it, show it.
Show it.
Don't show it, show it.
Get out, get out, get out, get out, get out, get out of screen.
Get it off screen.
It's not coming to you.
I mean, we'll see.
I'm a hot tail on my way to the pharmacy.
We're after you.
He's getting married yet.
Okay, let's move along.
Connor, good week. This is a good week.
I know, I'm pumped. Hey, it's going down no matter what, but I need to get those mits.
What a stash? Right now.
Yeah, it's unbelievable. The placement of it is crazy, too.
From what we learned of it through Tyrese and then my old man had some last year.
And then obviously doing research, it's like not being able to reach the spot in which it's at.
You can't reach your nuts?
Dude, it's not on, it's not there, Tony. He's in the middle of my back.
Okay, let's move along. Okay, he's going to be doing Pilates to try to
figure this out. Connor, everything's going to be okay. Let's do a little baseball talk here.
We saw Young do that kick save. Obviously, that was beautiful. That is not going to be the topic
of discussion with you, Mr. Jet, unless you want to talk about the abnormality of that particular
move by him, especially pulling it off. World Cup fever. You know, he saw messy it with the
incredible touch and he did it himself. Let's talk a little bit more about the baseball here,
the real baseball. We got trades coming, and I think you just put out a list of predictions of potentially
what's going to happen before the trade deadline, which is right around the corner. Who are the big
names? What should we know, Jet? Where are we at in baseball world right now, brother?
It's such an interesting and fascinating time right now, Pat, because typically, you know,
games around this time of year, they matter, but there's not a ton of urgency to them.
You sort of save that for September. This almost feels like a pennant race before a pennant race.
Because when you look at the standings, there are so many teams right now that actually do not know
what they're doing. Only three teams, the Colorado Rockies, the New York Mets, and the San Francisco
Giants have told other teams we're selling. Like, we're going to get rid of guys, it's going to
happen, so start getting bids in and let's get these conversations percolating. But,
especially in the American League, I mean, you look at that right now, and the compactness of the
standings makes it such that a team like Detroit, that six games under 500 is only four and a half
games back of the final wild card.
And I know the Boston Red Sox are playing great baseball right now, but at least the Tigers are
in it enough so that they're not selling Tarek Scouble and Casey Mize, and they're going to
wait.
So these next seven to ten days are going to be integral in determining what this trade deadline
looks like, because there's an opportunity for it to be really fascinating with some big
names being moved, but it all depends on what happens in the games on the field over the next
week and change.
You talked about the Red Sox a little bit there.
They don't even have the big Paisons swinging it.
They're doing some historic stuff.
Connor has a question for you.
Yeah, Jet, no Roman, no crochet, and still we're going for 15th straight tonight.
Is this situation insane?
And, you know, Ranger Swarers coming back tonight to get the start off the aisle.
What is the situation for the Sox?
Are they going to try and bring in a player?
I know James Wood has been getting floated around.
But should they not bring anybody in to mess up with the mojo?
Or what is kind of the Red Sox plan?
Connor, when you can add talent, you add talent.
Mojo can absorb it if that mojo is real.
And while I don't think James Wood is a particularly realistic option,
the Nationals know they have a superstar there,
they are not going to get rid of them.
There are some others out there,
at least names being tossed around
that would make a lot of sense for the Red Sox.
And shortstop is a position, I think, of import to them
and of focus to them.
And we added a new name, guys,
that top 100 trade candidate list.
And number six is Zach Netto
from the Los Angeles Angels.
Now, I don't know if it's going to be specifically Netto.
There's an opportunity to go out and potentially get Jeremy Pena
from the Houston Astros.
And even CJ Abrams, who's had a great year,
but probably not a shortstop long-term, could be had as well.
And I think the Red Sox are going to try and be aggressive.
And I don't blame them.
When you win 14 games in a row like this,
when you rescue your season from the depth
in the doldrums where they were
for the first, you know, 80-something
games, you just
have to go and do it and you got to try and chase
it. Damn right.
Did it, did someone come
in there? No, the opposite.
Something's coming out of there.
Something's coming out of there.
Oh, oh, poor
little tie. He's so sad.
Oh, you got to go find your
binkie into wall.
Oh, no, no. He's about to go blow his ass through
a wall.
I think that's about to happen right there.
Wet wipes in a wall.
There was a, I mean, that's hilarious.
We have talked back in here.
Does he have shingles too?
No, he has shingles, I think.
And they are running rampant out of his body right now.
Normally he heads that way.
This is the first time he's ever closest jaw.
This might be a cold red.
Yeah, this is cold red.
You know why, too.
Because of what happened last time.
He ate healthy today.
The spicy broccoli got him once again.
Every time he eats healthy for the first time.
in months this happens. That was
the most
that was the most chaotic I've heard
him drop into my talk back right there.
Quickest for sure. I'm by shit.
Yeah. Completely up
and out. I mean, he threw his ears
like this as he was getting out of there.
Ty, we're pulling for you, buddy. Good luck, Ty.
Good luck. This hasn't happened
a little bit, a couple weeks at least. Yeah, I think
it was two weeks before.
Including the ones we have.
Hey, Pat, I actually
have a question for you. I don't know why it
Yeah, okay.
Do you think there could be a book written on this very subject?
We were talking about this at the All-Star Game,
and a friend of mine had an incident where he was running across the Courtney Campbell Causeway in Tampa,
and in the middle of the causeway, he's like, oh, God, I'm not going to make it back
and just did the deep right there.
Jesus.
Do you think there are enough stories and enough commonality among people that they would want to
to share their stories about
a whole book. I'm not going to say it.
People dumping their pants jet.
Everybody poops, right?
Isn't that a book already?
It's a huge bestseller.
Absolutely.
Blake, did the God dump his pants jet?
Or did he just dump on the ground?
Oh, no.
He went to pull on in the pants.
Yeah.
He's always just way back across the causeway.
Like, it was a mess.
I mean, yeah, just try to write that, shop that around.
Someone will probably buy it.
He should have pulled his pants on it.
Look at that question.
He just has, he dumped his pants and he poop right there on the ground.
Like, we're so serious.
I mean, that was a real.
I mean, it's a huge difference.
That was a real follow-up.
It is real journalism.
Everybody's saying, we don't do any of that.
I feel like we got to the bottom of that.
We would have never known where that guy pooped unless Jet wrote a book about it.
Ty would definitely have a couple stories for you, though.
If you need to fill a few chapters, Ty's got you.
Is this a frequent occurrence?
Oh, buddy.
This guy, we all know it, too.
You know, it's like one of those things where.
highlight reel at this time.
Like you can put together like the Red Sox won in 14 games highlight reel of Ty.
Basically pooping.
14's probably the right number if we had to put it on there.
We know, we see it happening though.
And he knows it too what's coming.
But he still needs, sometimes he needs six, seven Red Bulls.
The opening of the show, the opening of the show has Ty holding up a whiteboard that says I shard it.
True.
Yes, it happens a lot.
Yes, but that wasn't a full dump.
So we don't know what to make the cut for your book.
But Ty will have many questions.
Okay, we have a couple more questions before we let you go.
Jet, thank you. Go ahead, Tone.
Jet, you talked about Scoobel and the Tigers and whether they're going to trade him or not.
A team that is in the race still as well as the San Diego Padres, and they have arguably,
maybe not even arguably, the best closer in all of baseball.
And there's been reports that he is now on the trade block because they want to replenish their farm system.
I know a lot of people in the city of Pittsburgh are interested in that.
I know Yankees fans are interested in that.
Is Mason Miller actually going to get dealt?
And where could he potentially get dealt?
Mason Miller is definitely available.
Now, does that mean that at the end of the day,
Jay Preller, who's one of the most prolific traders of all executives in baseball,
is going to flip him just a year after acquiring him for Leo DeVries,
who's one of the best prospects in baseball?
Not necessarily.
But the Padres need, it's not prospects,
the Padres need Major League ready starting pitching.
And if you're a team like the Seattle Mariners that has a deep rotation already,
and in Ryan Sloan and Kate Anderson, two of the best pitching prospects in baseball,
on the cusp of being ready for the big leagues, it's something you have to consider.
If you're the Yankees and you can pair him with David Bednar and Tim Hill and Brett Hedrick
at the back end of the bullpen, Fernando Cruz, it makes you just so much better and so much deeper.
And Mason Miller is the most dominant player in baseball at his field.
If the ninth inning comes around and Mason Miller is coming in,
you pretty much know that the game is over.
75 strikeouts and 40 innings and 0890RA.
Like he is a dude.
And, you know, him moving would help make what could be a boring deadline,
a whole lot more exciting.
And if he and Scoobble are both moving,
then we got a fascinating couple weeks ahead.
Feels like he's way too good to be a Pittsburgh pirate.
But we're in a new Pittsburgh pirate world.
Yeah.
And he's from Pittsburgh.
Buckas are real.
It feels like there is a little bit of movement
in potentially becoming a real franchise over there.
I think a lot of people are believing in it.
And if the Padres want Mitch Keller, that's fine.
They can have them.
Okay, so you're making trades for the team.
I appreciate and respect that.
Not going to be Mitch Keller.
It probably has to be more like Jared Jones.
No.
Thanks for Brunner Bridge with Mitch Keller there, Diggs.
That's fine.
Certainly, that was a good thing to do.
That doesn't matter.
Oh, is that?
Oh, is that?
Is that your side?
Is that your side?
What microphone do you have?
Do you have your living room microphone also on when you turn that?
Zoom thing on? Are you
hearing something in the background that might
be my child rooting around outside the room?
What's he doing? He's rooting around, just kind of
rooting around out there? Just making
noise, probably like wrestling with a dog, doing something.
I like that. I like that. What move you think?
Oh, he has all kinds. He rock bottoms
the dog all the time. Oh, yeah.
I like that. What type of dog?
Golden Doodle. Oh, yeah,
I forgot about that. Big dog. I like that. Big dog. I like that
athletic dog. We got this blue healer dog. That's
part blue here, part Pyrenees.
Pyrenees Mountain Dog? Yeah.
This thing's gigantic. Really strong.
Really? Yeah. He started to come like, I'm really starting to like it.
At the beginning he was just a really good dog, terrible pet, disgusting pet.
This thing's not supposed to be in the house.
He just clearly is a fucking.
It's supposed to be on my, he's a moose. He's a form.
He's a horse. This thing. Now, now he's learning how to be a pet, which is sweet,
but he's a sweetheart, but he's big.
I mean, it is a, this is the first time I've ever been with a dog that has like real
athleticism.
Yeah.
I mean, he'll pop me with one and then slot.
Yeah.
He'll, he'll, like, duck.
And then he's moving on the other.
It's a, it's a real, this thing.
Your dog slaps you?
Yeah, he's got these big paws, too.
He'll always give me when I'm sitting down, obviously, whenever he wants something.
He'll, like, give me one of those.
And then he'll, like, even, like, duck and move, too and, like, hit me from the other side.
This thing's unbelievable.
It's real human, listen.
too. It's like, hey, enough. And it like just stops. It's like, all right, we're starting
to understand each other. Genius. We're starting to understand a little bit.
Opens every door, though, no problem. Hey, how's it going? I'm coming in. Now he's up on the table.
Okay, that table is this thing slowly but surely turning the house into a mountain and or a field.
But there's nothing like it. We just had to say goodbye to our cat, Teddy, one of our cats, Teddy,
who Sam has had for like 17 years or whatever. It's like the, obviously in those moments,
you start thinking about all the good times,
you miss him in the presence or everything like that.
Animals are the best, man.
Animals are the absolute place.
Yes, they are.
Yeah, they are, you know, I, uh,
I never really got,
Sam brought a lot of animals in my house.
Literally just showed up and just had a bunch of animals in there.
And I was like,
I think I like animals.
I think I am,
I like animals guy.
And certainly, yeah, the, uh, this dog, though,
you know, I don't know if you'll ever be able to be like Peter,
you know,
because Peter, like, good,
dog on the road and everything like that.
Peter Herbst Street.
But it's getting close.
Yes, Peter Herb Street.
Second generation of Ben.
The dog.
Ben, by the way, is the dog.
I think we were all,
Ben, he's, Peter Awesome Dog, too.
Peter's got his own traits and everything like that,
and he's certainly handsome and lovable and strong.
Ben was, you know, obviously, first ever there.
Blue and I, I don't know.
Blue might be moving a little bit with me.
Let's get him in here.
Blue might be moving, because I think he does need to move.
The guy ran three miles before.
miles an hour or five miles or four and a half miles an hour the other day on a treadmill.
Okay, they bring these treadmills over.
This guy, yeah, yeah, I mean, he's a, he never gets tired.
He's got it.
This thing never gets tired.
It's incredible.
And it can jump.
You put your dog on a treadmill?
Need to.
This thing.
Yeah.
Bro, you run around the house, running around the outside of the house?
Not enough.
This thing, I, I, more.
I'm supposed to be going village to village here.
I'm supposed to be done.
And it just never stopped.
This thing's jacked, bro.
That's why the whole awesome dog, great dog.
But what we're saying is,
dogs are the best,
animals are great.
Jet passing, you're the man.
We appreciate you joining us, brother.
Always a pleasure, boys.
Thanks for having me.
And Ty, good luck.
He still is.
He won't hear that.
He's in the middle of his own fight right now.
Oh, he did want to ask about
if the Yankees are going to trade
for Languiliers or Goodman?
Unlikely.
Both of them,
Langalears, especially unlikely.
Hunter Goodman would be so perfect
for that team.
Right-handed.
power. Fantastic.
But I just don't think they're going to
give up enough to go get them
and Colorado doesn't want to move them.
So, it could happen.
Ryan Jeffers, much likely.
You're the man. Ladies and gentlemen, that's Jeff Hassel.
Yeah.
Good.
As we go from one senior insider
as we await Ty's re-arrival
fresh out of the John
after destroying the back toilet in which
Bailey and talk,
I believe, our most prolific dumper
goes to. That toilet back there has certainly been through some things. Today, I believe it is also
in a fight. We don't know how long this might be a 12 round. Yeah, we might not see him again.
Friday will be live from the NFL flag championship. It's happening here in Westfield, Indiana,
Indianapolis, Indiana, north of us. The NFL flag championships has boys and girls youth and also
adult championships happening. Cannot wait to watch the action and also broadcast a lot from there.
happy it's happening in our state. We are very pumped about hosting that. And obviously,
I was very fortunate to be a part of a Super Bowl commercial that was promoting flag football
becoming a sport for high schools and regulated in states. I think it's happening in like 30 some
states. It's obviously on the way up. Flag football is the future of football, good growth
engine for football, good introduction to football. Lucky to be a part of it on Friday here in Indiana.
Can't wait to get to that. Joining us now, senior NFL insider for ESPN, ladies and gentlemen,
Jeffer.
Yay, Chefty.
How you doing, Chefty?
Great to be on with you guys
and Charlie Chaplin. I appreciate it.
Yeah, Boomer, obviously,
with a great one with old Charlie Chaplin.
I will say, Charlie Chaplin used his
outside voice to ask a good dump question
follow-up on Jeff Hassan earlier.
Good piece of journalism. We have about a minute
and a half before a hard out. We'll continue on
digital with YouTube, ESPN Plus, and Disney
Plus. Chefty, rookies reporting to
camp today. What's a big storyline over the
next 24 hours in your eyes with people
showing up at camp?
Well, I think you have tomorrow the Cardinals will be the first team to report and full with the Panthers.
I think you obviously have quarterback contractual questions with both teams.
Bryce Young entering that 50-year option.
They didn't do a deal.
And of course, Jacoby Brissette wanted his deal adjusted during the offseason was not there for the voluntary part of the offseason drills.
I would think he'll be there tomorrow with the team.
I don't know that'll go through drills.
They're still going to be working on that contract for him.
But they'll want to make some type of adjustment to keep the leader of the team.
of that team happy as he gets ready to compete with Gardner,
Michigan for the starting quarterback job there in Arizona.
Okay, so that's the next 24 hours.
Obviously, who reports, who doesn't report will be a big thing.
Ty Schmidt has reported back to the doctor's name.
Way to go, Ty, proud of you.
Back in the fight.
Yeah, I appreciate what you just did in there.
And I appreciate that toilet as well.
And I like that you're wearing the hallies.
It does appear because those things are game ready.
That's certainly what you just want through there.
We wrap up here on ESPN.
We continue digitally.
Chefty quickly.
Do you know what's going on here with,
Coach Kelly, what's going on here?
What?
What's going on with them?
You tell me, Shifty.
Beautiful new stadium.
Just ready.
Purple vest, hard-hats football guy.
You got me there.
I don't know.
All right.
Okay, well, maybe you don't know everything.
We appreciate Chip Kelly buying in on Northwestern program, his commitment to ball.
We will continue our program and be back tomorrow.
Goodbye.
Wow.
That was a lot there quick.
I thought you'd have an answer.
Yeah.
What?
Chef, do you think we kind of blindsied you with Chip Kelly there at the last second?
What's the joke on Chip Kelly?
I don't even know what the deal is there.
Look at them.
Did you see him?
I mean, this is the Chip Kelly.
Hey, Chip, hell yeah, Chip.
He's bought in.
There he is.
Northwestern's got a lot of rich people that have graduated from there, right?
Oh, yeah.
They could potentially get into the NIL game if they really wanted to go all in.
I'm not saying that Chip Kelly is agreeing to stay at Northwestern forever,
but that is a school that could find access if they were to invest into ball.
and figure out how to get people into that school
because I think that's an Ivy League of thing.
Yeah, they can lower their academics.
But they do have the money,
and they're building a beautiful new stadium.
I assume that's why he's wearing the hard hat,
but I could be wrong.
Yeah, he's going to work.
All right, obviously, let's get to work.
Speaking of getting to work,
Schifty, there's some work that needs to be done
on a couple different situations.
I'll start with the Aaron Donald situation in Los Angeles.
I like bringing it up just strictly
because that Avengers movie
was the first superhero movie I watched
when they're all in it.
Yeah, that's right.
I like watching great people
do great things. I enjoy it. I can sit back. I watch documentaries about great folks,
how they got there, their mindset, what they did through their triumph and also
their testimony of everything they kind of went through. And the thought of watching the Los Angeles
Harlem Globetrotting Rams play football this year is exciting to me. I know everybody
doesn't love that. But Aaron Donald Miles Garrett, alongside the rest of that defense that is loaded,
okay? The defense is absolutely loaded. And then the offense is what they are. Very exciting for me.
Your thoughts on Aaron Donald at this standpoint being an actual RAM this year,
and have you backed off the limited snap thing that you said last week?
Well, what's going on right now is that he's trying to get back in football shape.
My understanding is it's going to be a while before we hear a final decision about him coming back.
Like when he comes back, he's going to want to be Aaron Donald.
And he's not going to come back unless he feels like he's Aaron Donald.
and that's why it sounds like it's not going to be a quick verdict from him
that he's going to be ramping up all during training camp
and this may go towards the start of the regular season before we hear
that he has or hasn't signed with the team like he's going through it all right now
this is his own pre-training camp routine and so I mean
you're telling me you think he's going to play 100% of the snaps
if when he's out there I don't know that he's going to do that.
but he wants to be Aaron Donald
or he's not going to come back.
So if he's going to be Aaron Donald
when he comes back, he'll probably be used
a decent amount. I don't know if it'll be full time.
I would think that they still would be smaller with him.
I think he's full time.
Now, does he end up making
it a full season? I don't know.
I think they'll probably calculate that in whenever they're
talking to him. Like, is he going to be able to play a full season?
Or are we going to have some sort of something pop up?
Probably if we had to guess. Two years out
with how long the season is, there's a chance
that something's going to come back. But I think it's going to be
hard to tell Aaron Donald get off the field.
They got that chamber out there too.
Oh, I forgot about the trailer.
Yeah, Immortal.
Teton Diggs just screamed into a microphone and said they played 75% of his snaps his last season.
And I think, I think, great stat there, I think getting him off the field would be tough.
Like, I think that would be a tough thing for anybody to do.
Hey, Aaron, you're off.
And it's like, I don't know.
So what you're saying, I think kind of leads to what we're also saying.
He's trying to figure out if he can get into the shape where he wants to do all that.
Can he go right back to what he was?
I think that's going to be tough to do, but if anybody can pull it off, we think Aaron Donald would.
Okay, let's go down to Tampa Bay.
There's obviously a quarterback's hitch brewing.
Go ahead, Conman.
Yeah, Shafty, Baker Mayfield is who Pat's talking about.
What's the status with that contract?
And then there are other big-time player on the other side of the ball, Vita Vea.
I know those were the two guys.
Tampa was kind of zeroing in on.
Are we going to get extensions for them before camp starts?
Before camp starts, I think maybe a bit ambitious.
right now, but the Buccaneers have been a team that typically has gotten deals done once camp is
underway a little bit into it. Now, Baker Mayfield said that he wants the deal done by the time
training camp starts or he's essentially tabling negotiations as he enters the last year of his
contract. But I guess what I would say to that is that, like I said, Tampa's history has been
to do deals during camp, not at the start of camp. And I think it's going to be easy for the
Buccaneers in Baker to say at that point in time, we started talking, we're going to continue
talking, and we're going to continue to try to get this done. And I think that they figure out a way
to get done because both sides want to make it happen. It shouldn't be a difficult deal to do.
I think about $50 million a year. That's my projection for where a potential Baker-Mayfield deal
could come in, maybe not as much as he wants, maybe more than the bucks would be wanting to pay.
but there's a compromise in there for both sides
that I think we'd like to work out of deal.
Pomped about Baker Mayfield,
earning that at this stage of the career,
especially with everything he's been through.
Guy was booted out of Cleveland.
Yeah, it was.
Won a playoff game for him against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Got booted out of Cleveland.
They're still trying to figure out
who their quarterback is going to be going forward.
Hopefully a dog-bound gets a chance to experience
a playoff win like Baker was able to bring to Cleveland.
The journey obviously goes through special teams
look squad in Carolina.
Then he goes over to Los Angeles for a cup of coffee.
Then he goes down in Tampa, finds a home.
He's about to get $50 million a year.
Hey, good for you.
Bake.
Bake.
Had to earn that shit.
They would have dropped his ass right out of the NFL,
especially with all his gimmicks and games.
You know, you can have a good personality
and you can draw attention in an entertaining fashion,
having every commercial on Earth and everything like that,
if you're good.
But if your special teams, look squad,
nobody wants you on the team.
I mean, that shit is quickly, hey, go to the UFL, pal.
That is that kind of the thing.
Instead, he fought back.
I think he evolved.
He grew, he matured.
He found a building that was suitable for him,
and he's done great things.
I'm very happy for Baker Mayfield,
proud of him almost.
Him and Donald on that same scout team,
if you look back on that Carolina team.
Crazy stories.
Congrats, Beck, man.
That's good for Bank.
And he still got it.
He does.
He does.
He still got the Dougie.
He does.
You know what the Doug?
Teach his side, Dougie.
Teach his side, Dougie.
Can you do that?
I think that's not my forte there, Pat, Dugging.
I think I could do some other things.
You can gritty.
You add to me, yeah.
What does an anatomy look like?
You know what I mean?
Like you're not a...
Like the hocus poca.
Atomy.
That's when you run...
I'm not going to say you're running jump.
I saw the Lambeau Field video.
It's an anniversary of that from the...
I mean, Baker.
Is that chef?
That is Chef.
That is Chef.
Yeah, that is Sheffey.
He's a little wiggle there, chef.
He's got the moves.
He's got the moves.
Oh, that's Baker.
That's Baker.
Oh, okay.
No.
Yeah, that's Baker.
Yeah, Chef John.
Oh, that's not Chef's.
Are we sure?
I've never had that much rhythm in my entire life.
Really?
I don't believe that.
Yeah, I don't believe it.
I got a...
Chefty with a Steppy, too.
Yeah?
That's what gave it away for me, at least.
That it was Baker or Chefty?
The step back, I was out, okay, Chefty.
I don't think Chefty had it in his back.
You're right.
Because everything else, we kind of...
Yeah, he's going to the cup.
Yeah, he's going to the Rambi.
Yeah, he's...
Yeah, he's...
Yeah, he's...
Yeah, he's...
Yeah, he's...
step.
Teach me out of Shepty.
Teach me out of Shepty.
We don't
Doug your out here.
Tone has a question for you, Mr.
Schaefter.
Yeah, dude, Shepty, have you checked in with the Giants?
Were they pumped about Scataboo doing the backflip
and almost shatter his ankle?
Or how'd that work?
And how they feel about the offensive linemen that were over there
and that kind of were making the rounds?
You know, that's who Cam
Scataboo is, right? Like, here's the
guy when he was in college. He's headbutting
brick walls.
of course.
Before the game,
you can't be surprised
that this is what he's doing.
That's the way he handles himself on and off the field.
You know what?
He didn't stick the landing.
Jackson Dart said,
he over-rotated.
Now, I've tried that,
and I've over-rotated,
so I can understand how and why he would do that at that moment there.
Very simple to over-rotate.
He's got to get that better in the future.
But here's the deal.
Like, the health of this team,
Tam, Jackson-Dart, Malik neighbors.
Those guys are all healthy.
They're going to be a playoff team.
They're going to be a playoff team.
If those guys stay healthy and play the majority of the season,
I think they can go to the playoffs.
I really do.
But Jackson Dart takes too many hits,
and Malik neighbors is coming off the knee injury.
Cam Scadaboos doing backflips.
If those three guys are healthy on the field
for better part of 17 games,
they're going to make a real playoff.
And we need these guys stay healthy too.
Nobody really talks about the trenches,
the big boys up front,
but if these guys get injured,
none of it matters.
Not going to be able to do anything.
And John Harbaugh knows that.
That's why you invest in the trenches so much.
John Harbaugh, obviously being able to win with the Giants so quickly would be a hell of a addition to his football story and his football life.
We hope that is the case.
Chefty, what do you got today?
Bud, it looked like you're about to go hit the course or run some errands?
No, we've got NFL live this afternoon.
Just got done with my friend Big Daddy here and Patrick McEnroll.
They're launching a podcast.
So I went out to meet with them to talk and get to go home and do NFL live right now.
You just got done with Big Daddy.
Do you call him that to his face?
How does that Convo go?
Big Daddy.
Everybody calls him Big Daddy.
Everybody calls him Big Daddy.
How tall?
How big is he?
What's his name?
Yeah, well, it's so many questions.
What are we talking about?
So you walk up, you go, what's up?
Big Daddy.
That's what you say?
Yep. Yep. Yep.
Patrick McEnroe's new partner here on some show that they're doing.
I don't know.
Can you just, can you showcase what it was like when you walked up and said hello to them?
Just so we can kind of put our.
ourselves there. Yeah, I went up, I did the doggie to them, both
them, and gave Big Daddy a hug, Patrick McEnroe hug, and we sat down and got to business.
What did Big Daddy tell you about your doggie? Did he, did he like your doggie?
Like your doggie? They told me that Baker's got nothing.
Big Daddy like Shafty, huh? Mm-hmm.
Fucking Big Daddy. I don't know what's going on here. Big Daddy's good little boy.
Adam Schifter. Come on into Big Daddy.
Give us a kiss here
Come on in
Let Big Daddy get you a hug

Good luck on NFL live
Emmy Award winning
Heard that was pretty crazy day
yesterday on the program. That's a wall.
You're the man. I'm Shepard.
I'm Shepardy.
Would you like to know with the
Big Daddy, Rich Suggott's
What? He's the
sports world's fixer. Sounds like he's
the big dumb of the entire
sports world. So Big Daddy is
the Giants Big Dom? It sounds
like known as the Batman
in the NFL. What? NFL?
Pretty sweet. So who's he work for?
Exactly. Himself. Yeah, he's a
dark guy. He works for the
people. He's a contract.
I'll tell you what, I know he's a powerful guy.
We're thankful for everything he does for all the people that we know and all that stuff, but like...
It's in the insurance business.
Big Daddy.
Yeah, I like that.
I like the...
Career-ending disability insurance.
I feel like that was added into there by you.
Got right here.
Okay.
It's going to be tough for me to call, God, Big Daddy.
Well, when you meet Rich, you know.
What's up?
Hey, don't Big Daddy.
They call me Big Daddy.
Angos had Dan Big Daddy Wilkinson.
He was a D-Lyman, first round pick way back in the day.
Did you call him Big Daddy?
Everybody called him Big Daddy, yeah.
Gigantic D-Liaman. Check him out.
Oh, Big Daddy from Cincinnati?
Yeah, he went to Cincinnati.
Yep, you got it.
The rhyming helps.
I heard about something about him.
Everybody from Cincinnati said the same thing.
Oh, he's Long Island's Big Daddy.
Wow.
He Long Island's Big Daddy.
The one from Telemarketer or Top NFL Problem Solving.
That's Big Daddy.
Hey, we're shut. Come over here, Big Daddy.
I fucking love this guy.
Don't make me take this to Big Daddy.
I'm gonna let Big Daddy know I'm definitely on Team Big Dom,
but nonetheless, like the both of you Biggs kind of coexist.
I bet they're.
Get things done.
On that note, Big Daddy never offered me chicken
cutlets during a home run.
No, they would.
If you wanted them.
I don't know.
Big Dom, you guys want some cutlets here, some alcohol.
Where was he gonna get those fucking chicken cutlets?
We should have said yes.
He would have got him there in two minutes.
Back pocket.
AJ was unbelievable.
We're miced up.
We're streaming, him coming over.
we are alive right.
Oh, you're the best.
Okay, good to see.
Let me know you need anything.
And then another guy comes,
he points a guy.
Hey, guy.
Well,
it was the most.
It was the greatest.
You guys needed anything at all.
Anything at all.
I'm like, hey,
I'm miced up still.
Yeah, yeah, okay, but I'll talk to you later.
You need anything?
It was great.
It was absolutely great.
Him fucking,
imagine he comes out with a fucking full trade.
He would have.
That would have.
Cheesecakes, colors?
What do you need?
Hyping hot.
Have we told people that we planned on streaming
that entire first round live?
and then we got that thing off?
We probably said it.
Okay.
I think so.
In the intro.
Do you know that, AJ?
I was watching it, like, hoping you were going to continue for the whole first round.
But then I thought, like, this is a, this is a whole other world.
If you're going to be streaming for, like, hours straight.
Yeah, and I don't know how any streamer, to be honest, can't talk to anybody.
Skeens walks up to me, what's up?
It's like, ooh, nothing.
Whatever, whatever you were going to say, don't.
Shut up.
Not a big dumb.
Yeah.
I mean, Bruce, or Michael Buffer, okay, the one.
It's like, hey, all right, he immediately I know wants to talk shit about something.
It's like, hey, Mr. Buffer, nice to meet you.
Don't say a thing.
I'm mic'd up right now.
And then immediately it's like, I'm the guy that met.
I hate that this is what we gotta meet each other.
Yeah.
Such complimented.
I'm surprised the people that don't see the mic too.
Like me the new generation?
You know, big, annoying little thing.
I hate seeing it, but then, hey, I'm mic to.
Oh shit.
Those streamers don't even tell people they're mic'd up either.
I think you have to.
But they're, how often can you say?
every human that comes by, I'm marked up.
I'm liked up.
I've been watching Street where you.
I saw T. Payne's teaching him a lot of lessons.
It's awesome.
Yeah, T. Paine's teaching them to real lessons.
I like Tepain a lot.
I'm big Teddy Paine fan.
Hard not to be.
How'd you do, buddy?
You good?
Anytime I'm going out of that door, you know,
it's a pretty serious scenario.
Listen, I've been eating a very popular,
what's called, like a salad-type chain,
almost daily for like the last several weeks
and for whatever
whatever reason the spicy broccoli
and that I'm guessing that's what it is it just
Yeah we had this whole conversation about you
Yeah exactly
We're proud of you though
Are you healthy? No wet wipes back there
Which you have that type of shite
It's basically a death sentence
So I'm just gonna fucking struggle through the last
However long we go here
And then I'm gonna hot tail it to that bathroom
And I'm gonna have to
I might have to take a shower to be quite frankly
Someone hose you down
Have talk hose you down
Well it talks probably
when it rolled through all the wipes.
Yeah, there are no wipes.
And I mean, there's about 150 rolls of toilet paper,
which is nice.
But when you have just a, I mean, it looked like my dog ate a full sheet of Hershey's,
uh,
Hershey's chocolate.
That's basically what it looked like in that toilet.
So, yeah,
suffice to say regular toilet paper just ain't,
ain't cutting it for that one.
Yeah,
I understand.
Man,
all right.
So I don't know what I'm,
because I really am trying to eat healthy and I actually have, you know,
lost about 15 pounds.
But, you know, part of me is thinking, is it fucking worth it?
If I'm going to do that every fucking time I eat this shit, you know?
Maybe just the spicy broccoli.
The spicy broccoli is pretty good.
It's healthy.
Yeah, exactly.
So we'll see.
You know, it's just a learning game.
We're proud of you.
Thank you.
Jet was pulling for you, too.
He was starting to call you a pacifier blankie thing, but he didn't fully understand.
Yeah, Jets, he's a sought-off little prick, so he can say that kind of stuff.
That's fine.
Actually, I'm upset.
I didn't see him at the whole run derby because I would have,
like to smack the taste out of his mouth at least once or twice.
We didn't see him.
No, we didn't.
Netflix, Fox.
Yeah.
The fact that we were down there, even.
Yeah, I know.
I don't think people fully understand how absurd that is in the modern world that we're
in with the way rights go.
Shout to MLB letting us down.
I was thinking that, too.
I was like, I wonder how many times we were on the Netflix coverage.
Never.
And they probably never, yeah, so they probably never panned over there.
Never?
No, that's what I'm saying.
I was thinking of the producer.
Now, a lot of people were thinking about the producer at Netflix, you know,
and the decisions that are getting made in the cuts and everything like that,
there had to be so many of us sitting right amongst every,
because we're paying attention too.
Oh, yeah.
Schino calling every single shot.
Like, that's the exact reaction.
Paul Skeens.
The Cardinals guys were like literally right next to us and their teammate won the derby.
So it's like.
Couldn't.
Tough.
Get them off the fucking camera.
Please.
Liz.
Those web was down there.
Everybody.
We had everybody down there.
We had a blast.
Yeah, it was awesome.
We had a great time at the Home Run Derby.
The baseball lads are a good time.
They are.
Great time.
Ladies and gentlemen, we'll be announcing the $50,000 worth of winners tomorrow on winter Wednesday.
Missed it last week because we were on the road.
But for those that are new to the program, any giveaway that happens, like for instance, if I make this football, into that hoop right over there, we will give 30 people, $500.
Boom.
Glass.
Wow.
Wow.
Yeah.
Boom.
Here.
50 days.
Wow.
Yeah.
So we will announce the winner of that also tomorrow.
Okay.
But we will also have the kick winners from whenever I kicked the ball into the hoop over here.
So $65,000 worth of winners will be announced tomorrow in $500 increments.
To win these particular giveaways, all you have to do is repost this post right here.
You have to say something nice to somebody?
That'd be cool to see in the mentions.
Yeah.
Has been a lot of that over the last like 24 hours or so.
be cool to see that.
And then also put the easiest way to digitally pay you.
And then you could be randomly selected to be one of the winners.
We can't thank you all enough for allowing us to do this for a living.
How about that?
Yeah.
That's awesome.
Exactly.
Good start.
Never a doubt.
I mean, you've been hanging around the dude perfect guys a little bit.
You drain the first shot every time.
I'll tell you what, I would like to hang around Tyler and the boys down there.
I mean, they are awesome and spectacular.
But yeah, that's fun that that one in there.
It almost is like maybe we have been doing some things right around here.
Maybe.
Yeah.
Also, there's no
Smoky
There's no gimmicks around either, AJ.
That was real.
What you're trying to say?
One shot, one throw.
What do you say?
One opportunity.
No smoke drink.
Talk about Tyler?
Don't make you change.
I'm not talking about anybody.
All right.
Purple hoser.
We would like to say
thank you
for allowing us to do this for a living.
Actually.
Oh, yeah.
Actually, the only reason
why this happens.
So thank you for watching.
Thank you for following along.
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of the sports world.
Because literally all we're trying to do is be an asset for sport for the good of sport.
And on that note, rookies are reporting in five-room buildings NFL training.
That's right.
That's tomorrow.
Now we're talking.
Real players.
That should a patron.
And we can't wait to talk to and with all of you for the biggest best football season that obviously ESPN has the Super Bowl for.
Yeah.
They also have the college football
Playoff National Championship?
I believe so.
Oh, do we have the entire season
for both of them?
I think so.
Yeah, let's enjoy this life.
Let's enjoy the hell out of sport
and let's enjoy the fact that all love
you.
Let us do this.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
And also, on X is where you got to repost
that video, say something nice.
Somebody could potentially be one of the winners
tomorrow, winter and Wednesday.
AJ, anything you say to the people?
What did we say?
God bless everybody.
Nice job.
Who said that over at the live?
show. That's right.
Kinley. Kenley. He said bless Jesus.
Bless you. Bless everybody.
Bless. You!
Actually, way to nail that one, AJ, all the way from Ohio.
Be your friend, tell you something nice of my change
of life, we're in this thing together. Team on me,
team on three. For the good of sport, baby.
One, two, three.
Two. Goodbye.
