Hello, beautiful people, and welcome to our humble about the Draft King's Thunderdom.
On this frozen frenzy Tuesday, October 13, 2006, this sports program begins now.
Football!
Happened last night in Los Angeles in a huge way.
I thought the game had the fixings to be biblical, to be epic.
The first half, kind of lame.
There was a couple of special teams blunders.
There's a couple red zone stops.
Had a couple field goals.
There was a Josh Allen.
arm punt, you okay, basically a turnover.
Still don't think he should have done that,
think he should have got it first down and tried to move the sticks,
but throwing it that deep at that particular time
with the amount of time, didn't think it was that big of a deal.
We get on a half time. We start chitchin' about,
hey, Devante did a little something in the red zone.
That's special. Buffalo found
a little something with maybe a little drop-off path to tie Johnson.
Obviously, James Cook has a 17-yard scamper in there.
Maybe they find it in the second half, or maybe
this just doesn't live up to the billing. Well,
second half was electrifying. The boys
found it. The boys figured it out.
Josh Allen character is somebody that might just be the will to win in a human form.
Now, is what he's doing, something that's going to be able to carry him for 10 years?
Is he going to be able to play football like this until he's a 40-year-old man?
Honestly, I don't know.
I have no idea how he's able to handle all the hits that he takes.
I have no idea how he's able to make the plays that he makes.
I have no idea how he's able to do what he does.
And he'll make a bonehead play out of nowhere.
Last week, he was in his own end zone, threw the ball backwards like this.
He had no idea who the hell was there.
No.
Just threw it like this because he didn't want to do it.
to get a safety, but at pick six is even worse than a safety. He did not care in that moment
because he still has this childish joy, it seems like, while he's playing football. Every play
could be the play that could change the game, and he does it all the time. Congrats to him.
Congrats to Big Ball Bass for making a game winner after having maybe a little tough start.
And congrats to the Buffalo Bills getting a huge litmus test win over to Los Angeles Rams,
who a lot of people have questions about. But you make a kick, you win that game. There's a lot of
different situations that could have happened where the Los Angeles.
Rams come out of their victorious. Instead, they lose again, which a lot of people are talking about.
Miles Garrett's still not on the football field for them. We have no idea whenever he's going to
return what he's going to be. Aaron Donald gets a fumble recovery, which we appreciate.
And the offense is doing record-breaking shit, and they're still losing games. Nine-year NFL vet,
Darius Jay Butler. The building was electric last night. There was a lot of Buffalo Bills fans in there.
There was a lot of Los Angeles Rams fans in there. It did feel like it was a bowl game type
atmosphere, but both of them had a lot to cheer for at different times. This Los Angeles
Rams team, they have so many studs who had such great, I mean, Blake Corr made a little bit,
Karen Williams ate a little bit, Devante, Puka went crazy, record-breaking night. What do you think
about where the Rams are right now? And is this a bigger story about the Buffalo Bill? Is there
maybe just the will to win that they have? I mean, it's a story about both quarterbacks,
both teams, the Rams, like you said, offensively, it did everything you wanted them to do as far as
moving the ball. The bill's coming in and that was the question. The bill's second.
secondary had been picked apart. And Matt Stafford's going to come in there and be able to throw the ball with the tight ends, the running backs, the wild receivers that he had.
But Josh Allen, the way he was just able to figure out a way to win the game because he wasn't able to throw the ball that well, that effectively.
The Rams are doing a great job, kind of dropping back, keeping a lot in front of him.
He wasn't really deciphering that zone coverage. So he just started tucking the ball and running over 120 yards on the ground.
And it's a problem because when you're in coverage, when you're a defender, underneath defender, a deep defender, you're kind of stuck in that box.
So, okay, do I guard my guy?
Do I guard my zone?
Or do I kind of go and try to tackle this mutant in the open field?
So he took advantage of that all throughout the game.
But like you said, both teams had legit opportunities to win the game,
and that's what you're going to have when you have MVP quarterbacks and good head coaches.
But the bill is found a way to get it done.
You talk about this monster of a man, this freak that is Josh Allen.
There was some monster shots.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, him and Kinchin stood straight up.
I mean, that was a stalemate, two bulls running into each other and beating right in the middle.
A ram, if you will.
and the bill, if you will, running into each other.
And that part right there.
So, like, he's obviously big and strong.
So, boom, this is the hit you're talking about.
But before that, you got Landman out there on the island in open space.
So you got this big 240, 250-pound athlete, kind of like Cam was, he can shake you or run you over.
So just lower the leverage there is what it is.
So they're both looking for that.
But they immediately, and this is something I think that if I was an offense coordinator after watching this morning live, yeah, he can do that to anybody.
Lamb Man got some, though, too.
Oh, yeah.
From like six, seven yards off the ball.
And guess, sorry, knew exactly where to go.
Blew a guy, I mean, it was one of the biggest shots we've seen.
Maybe since, uh, uh, Blaine versus Derek Henry.
Maybe if for, and then Lamb Man was out in coverage 20 seconds later.
I don't know how these humans do it.
But I don't know how you guys did it.
There's been some monster collisions this year.
Oh, yeah.
It feels like we're getting bigger pop.
Now we got bigger people on the field.
Remember a lot more 13 personnel.
No. Last night I saw three of their tight ends doing Pat and Go. I don't know. Maybe six, seven. I don't know what they're listed at. And if they're wearing lifts like the smaller wrestlers do. I don't, they, I called them the triple tires. It really looked like that. And they're getting it too. I mean, they're catching a ball off the ground. It's like the athleticism for the size and the speed that the NFL currently has is outrageous. And Josh Allen is a great depiction of all of that.
Oh, yeah.
And what he's able to do with The Rock,
what Stafford's able to do with the Rock,
thought last night could be an epic game.
It turned into one, and the bills get a massive dub.
The Toxatables here at Boston Connor and at Ty Schmidt.
The bill's window may be always going to be open with Josh Allen,
the quarterback.
Swagoo, Marcus Spears, who I've enjoyed getting to meet and know and work alongside,
his big takeaway last night was,
Josh Allen can't be doing this.
Like, this cannot be a sustainable, winnable option.
Whenever James Cook is operating, which James Cook's got to hang on to the ball,
he is very good at football, unbelievable football.
The ball is the program, and because he is so good, they still give him opportunities with the ball.
He has more fumbles than anybody at the running back position.
Those are crazy.
He got away with a win last night.
Hopefully this is a learning lesson.
Nice reminder for him forever because he is a special talent out of the backfield.
But Marcus Spears's big take was like, need James Cook to get in rhythm,
then let Josh Allen do his stuff, and then him work extra.
Same conversation with like Caleb Williams.
send conversation with a lot of the guys who, you know, are great athletes,
best athletes on the field in their mind always have been,
want to kind of do their own shit, but a system is a system.
It feels like Joe Brady's system is like Josh Allen doing his thing.
Is this sustainable?
And as a Patriots fan, what are your thoughts,
fresh off a win over them?
But what are your thoughts on this Buffalo Bills team this year?
I mean, I think it's sustainable.
I think this is Josh Allen.
Josh Allen is Josh Allen.
And Joe Brady's system is what it is.
Josh Allen could do what he does in any system.
You know, he is so good at football.
I think my biggest takeaway is if you're a defense, you have to play a perfect game.
Like, he had 120 yards on the ground, but half the time it was good coverage on the back end.
And then one guy up front on the D line either overruns him, misses a tackle, and then he's gone.
Like, if you don't play perfectly, if you don't do, you know, the rushing lanes you guys talk about all the time against guys like Lamar.
Like, you got to stick to your rushing lanes because if you go past him, all of a sudden he's out of the pocket and he's gone and he's going to play well.
when it comes to Josh, if you don't pitch a perfect game,
he is going to take advantage
and last night's going to happen over and over again.
A man covered you're dead, right?
Yep.
Because you've got your back to Josh.
He got to go zone.
But then for zone, you've got to keep people back.
And if you don't flood the box,
then you don't have enough people to keep Josh contained.
And then Josh has one of the strongest arms in ball
that they can get over top of you if they need to.
Shakir looked.
Fast than ever lying.
He looked faster than ever last night.
Can you just talk a little bit about that?
How if you play man and Josh sees your back,
he's going to come meet you.
He's just going to come chase you, basically.
But if you play zone, you don't have enough people.
Like, what is the way to stop Josh Young?
That's why the mobile quarterback is always the great equalizer.
Like you said, you can have a perfect down.
Everyone can be covered, and then he can just take off.
So, yeah, and even his own coverage, a lot of zone coverage, especially in NFL now,
it's kind of like zone matches.
So, yeah, I have a zone.
But once this guy gets into my zone, especially if a quarterback is extending to play,
I have to kind of plastered that guy.
You always hear plaster a lot.
And if you're playing the bills, especially coming in last night,
without DJ Moore in the corners, the cover guys that the Rams have.
You want to play man coverage.
That's where you win because you don't think that their receivers can beat you down after down in man coverage.
So if you don't have a spy, and once again, the spies like we talk about Jeremiah Smith.
Like, yeah, on Friday it's going to look great.
We have two or three guys on them, but then four goes up and make a play.
It's great having a spy on tape or on film on Friday or Saturday to walk through,
but then when 17 actually gets an open field, it's a whole different ball game.
The whole sustainability question, is it sustainable?
We haven't seen, I guess, quarterbacks win Super Bowls with this style.
Free style.
Usually it's like, hey, we always say you got to be able to win from the pocket.
Even like early Lamar Jackson, it was like the big, you know, cry for that system was, hey, put him in a passing system where he can win and operate from the pocket.
So, yeah, but Josh Allen has the ability to operate from the pocket.
So yeah, I can understand what Swagoo is saying.
And you talked about the hits.
Like at some point, though, when you've seen Josh Allen be great and win MVP's, but somewhat break down towards the end of season where he's a tough guy,
He's going to play games, but you're not your full self.
So that's what a lot of people say when you talk about the sustainability of just that body throughout the NFL season.
But the way the things that he's been able to do is just by him getting over the hump now in the playoffs.
Yeah, Josh Allen, you talk about him like every other position.
Like he's banged up.
Like, yeah, he's banged up.
What does that mean?
He's just not 100.
What could be a rib, could be, I mean, could have a bruised thigh, could have anything of the sort because he does just go back and play.
There's a lot of pocket passers.
We've seen them.
It's not great, okay?
They survive, though.
If anybody's close, they just go down, like little babies.
I mean, they just...
Oh, yeah, right away.
Like, literally doing this, like, just curl up into a little ball,
and whoever touches me gets a sack.
Congratulations.
Take, like, three hits a season, four hits a season.
He's taking the equivalent of those four hits
that those guys take in one play.
And then he's taking 40 more of them.
He's not sliding either.
Ever.
They're taking it out.
He's trying to
Low man wins. I get it.
He's so tall.
And he's literally trying to scoop under guys
to run him over.
It is, I mean, he's a
he's an anomaly.
He's a phenomenon.
I don't know how he's going to survive.
Hopefully he is able to forever.
He's been able to do it in the past.
Can they win a Super Bowl like this?
They've been close.
They've been so close.
And he is,
congratulations to him, first ever overtime win.
Yeah.
We've seen some of the others.
Hard print.
for an entire time up there in Buffalo.
Not many of them were his fault.
I also like, and this will not get chatted about enough,
I like that Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford were the two captains for the coin toss for overtime.
I like that they were representing their programs.
Now, there is a conversation about quarterbacks working with the offense coordinator,
you know, trying to get every last piece of information as we're heading into the most important part.
Sometimes you'll see specialists out there, I specialist,
which we will talk about here in about a second or so about the special team's aspect of everything going on,
in LA, big kickoff return, just start that entire thing.
Yep.
Miss kick early.
Yep.
Miss kick late.
Some coverage stuff.
That's a lot.
Can't have that.
But every once in a while, you'll see, like, a specialist out here, which, you know,
let's pick which way we want to go.
You'll see somebody else from the team out there representing.
I really liked with how that game went and what that game was, that Josh Allen and
Matthew Stafford came out and just kind of handled it.
And I like that the ref was just very clear that this is one.
Hey, this shit's over.
after this one.
I don't know if Washington
got the same message
from their ref during the coin toss.
If that is what happened,
we still don't know.
But I like that this is how this started.
I thought it was good for the game last night.
I thought last night was good for the game.
It's great for the game.
I like it too.
And you just mentioned it.
I wonder did Jaden Daniels go out there
for his coin toss?
Because it is,
and I'm sure we can find that footage
because you do hear the rules
one last time.
A lot of times when you're watching
all the games you got on the Four Box and I
listen to the audio.
But it is like that last reminder.
like, hey, into this period.
If it ends of the tide, that's what it's going to be.
So, yeah, I'll be interested to know if Jane Danes went out there because, you know,
everyone's talked about it, you know, however many times.
That was just ridiculous.
And we still don't know how the hell that happens.
Will we ever?
Somebody will have a podcast at some point.
Yeah, to know what happened.
And to my point that I was just talking about there a little bit, special teams for
the Rams, I mean, don't really fully comprehend what's going on over there.
Beavis, Mivas, sorry.
Mevis has been one of the best
kickers in the league, one of the purest hitting
kickers in the league. I mean,
he was splitting uprights dead center
for the Los Angeles Rams as soon as he got the
opportunity out of Missou. This year,
early, first Monday night football game, week
two, he missed one there. Misses a couple
last night. This one gets blocked.
I guess that's going to happen, but
the special teams was a real problem for them. And I love
Bubba, but that is just abnormal for
a team that has Super Bowl odds as high as they do,
Ty. Yeah, and this has kind of consistently
been a Rams thing over
the last couple years, like depending on what metric you want to measure it by, but they've been
near the bottom of the NFL and special teams all around. You mentioned it. First,
opening kickoff, the bills take one back 70 yards. And, like, I would imagine that Rams fans
feel this too, because, like, as a Packers fan, I feel like I lived this for so many years.
It was like when you have so many superstars on both offense and defense and you pay all that
money, exactly, there's not a lot to left over to fill out your roster with, like, good, really good
special teamers.
And, yeah, it lost them the game last night partially.
Now, there are other things that happen.
But, like, this is the kind of stuff that will always come back
to bite you in the ass in the playoffs.
Always.
I don't care what it is.
If it's a close game like that, you give up a massive return.
You get a field goal blocked.
You mentioned how, you know, Mivas has missed a couple.
Like, it does kind of seem like they just focus on, like, hey,
our offense is good enough.
We know we're going to score a bunch of points.
And when we get healthy on defense, like, we really,
it should never come down to special teams.
But in the NFL, like, invariably, at the most important time,
it always comes down to special teams.
And it almost seems like they're okay with that,
although I would assume that Sean McVeigh,
especially with how pissed he was after the game last night,
there's going to be some changes.
Whenever you get to the games of importance
when it's cold and when it's playoffs,
if you can't stop the run, you're going to get exposed.
If your quarterback can't make a third and seven out,
you're going to get exposed.
And if you're special teams as ass,
you're going to get exposed.
Now more than ever with the kickoffs having to land inside the kick zone.
One half of the hammer,
down. Cowboys AP tone. It goes over last night. Yes, it does. It goes over, which nobody could have
expected. And bills get the cover. And dogs now continuing to cook on prime time. Yeah, so there was
some separate stats out there. Obviously, it went over. Everyone was on the over last night.
The last time these two teams played, it was 80 points, I believe. They scored over 80 points.
And then, yeah, so different stats, either seven in a row or nine in a row, depending on how you had
the Rams and the Broncos game earlier in this year on prime time. Go to the dog straight.
up, like not even against the spread. Dogs are going on the road. Dogs are at home and dogs are
dominating on prime time. You asked debuts why that's happening yesterday. Not sure. I can't come up
with a great reason on why it's happening other than, you know, there's a lot of eyes on prime time.
So there's a lot more action on prime time. And there's a lot more people just taking the public
favorites, which are not doing well this year. I had 32, 43 and 3 if you're getting 50% or more of the
bats. If it's 3 points or more, 11, 23 and 3. If it's 7 points or more, 4, 12, and 3, if you're
getting 50% or more of the bets. So fade the public season is on, but the dogs are dominating
prime time. Yeah, fade the public fade. Last night I got right, which I'm pretty pumped.
Hell yeah. I feel very excited about that. Maybe that carries in the next week. It's been hard
to predict. Yeah. I mean, it's been really hard to predict. I mean, I could have never expected
what happened in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this past weekend.
Hmm. Me a bunch of dogs. I think you could have maybe. Never. I think you could have made it out.
I don't like the reaction to the beginning of an intro.
I'm which I didn't expect it.
Now, stats told us that that potentially was going to happen.
29 and 8.
It's for sure going to happen.
I didn't see that.
What's that?
Was that one?
You just...
That's the Steelers versus the Colts all time, 29 and 8.
What about there, though?
In Heinz?
Yeah.
That's sure.
After sure?
Undefeated, probably.
And after London, I think teams are like,
Owen 2000.
So maybe we could have expected what happened in Pittsburgh.
What we're excited about, he's a friend of the program.
A man whose legs are the size of Clydesdales.
Abnormally large bottom half, because this man has had to bring the power
at the tight end position for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He's in his sixth season at a Penn State.
He is a made man.
And J.J. Watts said that Coach McCarthy told him,
he sees Pro Bowls in this guy's future.
Had two touchdowns this past weekend,
has great hands,
haven't always got a chance to showcase him.
This year feels like it might be different.
Ladies and gentlemen, Pat Fryer moves.
What's going on, bud?
What's up, man? How are we doing?
Do you think about letting Colts win
because life stuck for us for a long time or no?
Nah, definitely not.
We needed a win to get back on track.
We needed it.
Yeah, I heard it was getting loud over there in Pittsburgh.
Obviously, we have Jinsers around us
that have been chit-chatting about
every single football season you've been a part of with Pittsburgh.
Let's talk about this football season that you've been having with Pittsburgh.
Aaron Rogers, obviously a big fan of you, the person.
This year feels like you're a more focal target in the passing game.
Do you feel that is correct?
And when did you realize that was probably going to be the case?
Yeah, I definitely see myself as more of a focal point of the offense.
Definitely probably in OTAs in camp.
I started getting the kind of feel that Aaron and Coach McCarthy were going to use me
and my strength.
And I just felt like it was just kind of a natural process
trying to lean on the tight end room with me
and darn out throughout the camp in OTAs.
Yeah, Mount Washington, obviously,
has had an incredible start of the season as well.
The Steelers' offense has been spectacular this year.
Steelers fans a little befuddled about what's happening
as first downs are taking place and touchdowns
and winning by more than one or two at all times.
Is this a Mike McCarthy kind of mindset
an offensive head coach mindset?
Why do you think the offense is so prolific right now
and seemingly has all of Pittsburgh excited to watch the games
as opposed to holding on for dear life?
Yeah, I mean, I think Coach McCarthy has done a great job
of kind of challenging the offense
to go out there and win games on offense
instead of kind of relying on the defense to, you know,
win those games for us.
So I feel like we're playing some good common team football right now
and we just got to continue to keep going.
What's Mike McCarthy like day to day?
What were your expectations of what he was going to be like?
And then what is he actually like?
Yeah, I mean, I thought he was going to be extremely detailed.
And he definitely is that our schedules are very detailed, very warranted.
You know, we're in there throughout the day and really going through meetings throughout the whole day and very structured, which is good.
I think the guys have been pretty responsive towards it.
And yeah, he's definitely everything I expected.
I didn't expect his Pittsburgh accent to be as thick as it is,
but it's pretty thick in the, you know,
the offensive meetings and the team installs.
So he sees Pro Bowls in your future.
J.J. Watts said that.
And then you have a quote that said,
you think you in Mount Washington are the best tight-end duo in the league.
Mike McCarthy's offenses have been successful since the beginning.
I'm happy that's continuing, especially for you guys in Pittsburgh.
defense continuing to do their thing.
AP Tones flying real hot
fry removes around this Thunderdome.
Yes, he is.
Yeah, thank you.
Yeah, thank you.
I really appreciate that.
Sunday nights are a lot better.
My wife and kids aren't avoiding me,
so that's cool.
No.
Same.
Yeah.
I wanted to ask you about getting under center
when it's fourth, third, and one.
I see you get under center
and then Big Mount Washington's behind you.
It's almost a guarantee at this point.
When did that happen?
And I heard Aaron maybe was teaching you
how to take snaps?
Yeah, they kind of approached me during camp and asked if I,
if I've ever taken a snap under center.
I haven't since sophomore year at my high school under the wingty offense.
And I didn't tell him this, but I probably averaged, you know,
a fumble or two a game just off the center quarterback exchange.
But, yeah, I went to Aaron and approached him about how to take a snap,
and he's been pretty good at telling me.
And I kind of found a kind of hand-placed.
that I like and so it's been good.
Sweet spot there with Frazier.
I took some snaps as third stringer.
And for the Colts, every week had to do a couple.
You're doing this every week?
How many snaps you taking a week?
Yeah.
Every day, probably between five and ten every day and different full work.
And it's been good.
It's been good.
How's the cadence?
You got any hard counts in him?
Not yet.
I've perfected the cadence.
I feel like I think everyone's pretty happy about it.
That was my biggest anxiety still is,
probably before every play is making sure the cadence is good for the O line.
So they'll be, McCormick will tell me if it sucks.
So he hasn't told me yet.
Is he the right guard?
Yeah.
So left guard.
He's the left guard, left guard.
Is he the one to toss guy?
Yep.
Yep.
Mm-hmm.
What's his problem?
He needs to relax out there.
He's tossing coats around and screaming and laughing in their face.
I don't like anything about it.
Yeah, when he came out of college, there was a sick highlight tape of him out of South Dakota State, I believe.
It was to some heavy metal rock.
Yeah.
he's an absolute lunatic.
Laughing.
This guy,
this guy having a time of his life playing against Colts.
He's been riding a little high since the whole Dexter Lawrence
and he created a new technique.
And so he's been riding pretty hard.
We've got to bring him back down.
He's been doing great, man.
He's been doing great.
He's been flying real high since everybody told him he's not allowed to do what he did at all.
But he didn't get called for a single time.
So who cares?
What a legend.
Good for you guys.
Vibs seemingly immaculate with that guy all the time.
How about around the building?
Connor has a question for you.
Yeah, Muth, another year with Aaron Rogers,
and he said before the season,
hey, this is it, no matter what, this is my last season.
Has there been a better vibe, different vibe with Aaron?
Do you see him a little more nostalgic, sentimental on a week-to-week basis,
knowing that every single week is kind of last week one,
last week two, last week three, and so on?
No, definitely not.
He's focused on winning a Super Bowl this year,
and he's put everything,
thing in front of the table, all those chips on the table every single day, and he's been great.
And he's been consistent since he's been here last year.
And, you know, he expects greatness from everyone every single day in practice.
And I think that's what stands out to me the most about him is he's 42 years old,
playing the league for, what, 22 years.
And probably does he deserve a vet day, Wednesdays, and maybe Thursdays?
Absolutely.
But he's out there every single day practicing, holding us to a high standard.
So how can you not go out there every single day in practice your actual?
ass off for a guy who's
who probably shouldn't be out there.
You have a vet day, get healthy for game day, but he's out
there, you know, really pushing us.
No, G days for Aaron Rodger? I didn't even think about that.
He does not take a G-D-day. He loves the practice.
He loves the practice, which is great.
Which is great. You need that as your, as a
quarterback on your team. There's a lot of guys on
on your team. They're taking a lot of G-days that all of a sudden
Aaron comes in and it's like, fuck.
This guy just ruined this for us.
This guy just ruined this for us.
I don't love that he's moved. Look at this.
What is this, Friarmooth?
You guys running with him?
with them extra so he can do shit like from its
2014 again? What
was this all about?
A little no look. Yeah, he made sure everyone was
aware of what he did. It was
pretty impressive. It was
I thought it was going to be incompletion because I was the other side
of the field and then I saw the
crowd explode and germ go up about 25
yards. Yeah, it had to be a lot of fun
man. I'm sure it's an absolute blast. It was great, man. It was great.
Yeah. It was great. Yeah, I'm happy
you had a great Sunday, Moose. I'm happy everybody
over there in Pittsburgh's having an absolute blest.
What's the record against the colds?
29 and 8, I believe, now.
Jesus Christ.
Yikes.
It's a tough ride.
I've only lost him once,
and we played them like every year, so.
Whatever.
Thanks, most.
All right, listen.
With you around, I don't know how anybody could have a good time.
That was when Ben was in the building at Lucas Oil.
Oh, yeah.
And Joe Flacco came in.
Didn't Joe Flacco?
No.
Yeah.
Because you guys remember Tomlin.
Flacco came in.
Yeah.
because I guess Tomlin told the defense,
hey.
Whatever we do, we keep starting quarterbacking.
We do not let Joe Flacco coming in.
If I do recall, and then Flacco did come in.
Yeah, okay, I remember that.
Let's live in those things.
Yeah, those are good times.
Good times.
People reuniting.
Go ahead, Ty.
Yeah, Mooth, one of my favorite things watching Aaron play is when he gets all fiery
and starts motherfucking guys on the offense.
And obviously, there's the big thing on Thursday night with him and Coach McCarthy
kind of going back and forth to each other.
like, do they just bicker like a married couple all week long and does that lead into the games?
And also have you caught any shrapnel from him, you know, throughout the process of the game?
Because I feel like typically when he's really giving it to a guy, like that it either means,
hey, I'm not going to throw to this guy again today or I'm going to force feed this guy for the rest of the day.
Yeah, I've done on a couple of ends of the ashtuns from Aaron.
It's definitely not fun.
Definitely don't recommend it for anyone that comes into Pittsburgh.
but I mean it's all out of love.
It's all because he wants the best for you
and he sees something on the defense
that he thinks he can exploit.
And, you know, if you're the guy
that he asked to call in that situation,
he expects you to be there on time.
And so, you know, it's definitely tough
to get on that same page as him.
But once you do, the sky's the limit.
And I think I'm, you know,
not only me, but Germ and D.K.
And Darnell, we're really, you know,
reaping the benefits of that.
And, uh, no, they don't really bitch
too much during the week.
we don't really feed too much into it.
There's a different relationship between him and
and Coach McCarthy. They've been together for so many
years, and so we don't really bad.
And I, they have their little relationship that they
like to have and
do all that. And so we're just kind of
keep it pushing.
All right, you guys are going to get to the bottom of this?
Can we get to the bottom of this? Thank you.
All right, here we go. Let's move along.
It has worked out very well
for the first five weeks here.
There's been some downtime times.
There's going to be some down times in the season.
But, man, if you didn't think
that the Steelers had a chance with a 42-year-old quarterback
before the season started.
Now it feels like everybody's back on board
with what's happening. And the tight end
room is a massive piece of it. Go ahead,
Dube. Yeah, you said you guys got the best
tight end room, but just looking around the league
seems like every team now has two
or three tight ends that they depend on
weekend and week. I just want to know from your
vantage point, how do you feel like that position
has changed throughout the league and how has it changed
for you personally throughout your
six years now in the NFL?
Yeah, I mean, I think the biggest
The misconception that I had coming into the league was kind of just, like in college, they kind of just split me out.
And I blocked it a little bit, but it was more so, you know, a pass catching tight end.
And, you know, I think coming to the NFL, it was like, okay, we're going to just do the same thing.
But slowly realized how much of an importance it is, you know, run blocking and be able to block so you can not give keys to the defense.
And so, you know, when Darnell got here, I feel like our games were very on the complete opposite spectrum.
I think he was dominating the run game and had to develop.
in the past game and me on the complete opposite side.
So I think this year it's kind of really come together where, you know,
he's really developed really well in both areas and same with me.
And so now we can really go out there on offense and kind of not give tell us to the
defense as if we're going to run to my side, if we're going to run to his side,
or if he's running a route or if I'm staying a block.
And so, you know, I think we really work well off each other.
When you see Darnel get the rock, do you, are you as baffled as we all?
When he, it was Georgia, I think the first time I saw him.
He was running like a drag route.
And Brock Bowers was running clear out, and Darnell was just in the block basically.
Darnell was an extra tackle, and then Bowers, Brock Bowers was their tight end.
Brock Bowers broke every record reception to him.
Darnell was just moving people.
But every once in a while, everybody would go to Brock, and then Darnell would get the ball.
And as soon as he got it, he was like a big man touchdown.
You were watching an offensive tackle get the ball.
Then he starts moving.
Then he can jump.
And everything he has been able to do at Georgia, he's been able to do that even more in the NFL.
The fact that both of you can get going and get loose and both you can block from the Colts perspective, seemingly unstoppable.
You know, and I don't think they're the only ones.
This is modern NFL right now, though.
Last night, 13 personnel everywhere.
It is.
And I think to the evolution of the tight end position, I think that's a big reason why.
Do you feel it across the NFL?
Do you tight ends understand that you guys are becoming the new X factor, basically?
And I assume contracts will start to be synonymous with that, not that you're paid well,
but what wide receivers make and what tackles make,
which you guys are both of those,
is just vastly different than what tight ends make.
But it feels like the tight end position is the X factor in games right now.
Do you agree with that?
Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, I feel like when you can get, you know,
two or three really good tight ends,
you can dictate what the defense can really do.
You know, if they're going to try a match personnel and base defense,
you know, you have three comfortable guys that you can win on man coverage,
then you can really spread them out.
Oh, we lost them talking about tight ends.
This is the problem.
Pick mismatches of, you know, who would be their weakest lineback on either Darnel or, yeah, I can get going on this.
So it's been great.
And if they're going to play nickel personnel or anything like that, any small personnel,
then we're just going to line up and, you know, run the ball down your throat.
Pause.
Last year.
Just going to pound your throat.
Pound your throat.
That's what Steelers are going to do.
That's right.
Hey, Pittsburgh Steers are going to pound your throat.
Especially the Colts.
That's what.
Records, record.
Shut up. Records would indicate.
Unbelievable.
Last year, a lot of six offense alignment.
A lot of six offense alignment last year for the Steelers.
We saw that pretty early.
This year, tight ends doing that.
But it feels different up front.
Tone has a question for you, Moose.
Yeah, Pat, obviously, week three, Brock and a big Max come in on the right side.
And it feels like Jalen Warren since that has gone off for like 160 a game.
What was it like when that for you guys as an offense when the offensive line change was
made and then blocking for this guy who just, you know, makes big plays every single game.
Yeah, I mean, you know, putting Brock and Max in the lineup, they definitely created a nice
little sense of shit talking.
I should say, oh, there, Brock is shit talking every single play.
And I think it's, if they bring the energy, they bring the juice.
And so anytime you get a hat on a hat, especially with giving the ball to Jalen, he's going to make
a bunch of people missing, he's going to get loose and score toes down.
I'm just happy DK didn't trip him on the long ADR.
because D.K. was really blocking
his ass off on that. So
no, every time you can get Jay on the ball.
And Aaron knows, I mean, this play right here,
just get it to him real quick, and he can take it
an ADR to the house just like that. So he's great.
He's definitely one of the underrated backs, and I'm super
happy for him to get all the recognition that he's getting
so far. So it's been fun.
You're an underappreciated tight end in the league.
Pittsburgh appreciate you, though. We've already been paid.
It's only going to continue to grow.
Leg day, every day.
They're saying your legs are getting smaller?
No, I was in their squat yesterday
So definitely not getting
Definitely not getting smaller
So geez
We don't have to have you on a screen
While we do this
But we would like you to hear this
Weren't they abnormally weirdly sized?
Oh yeah
Wider than my whole body
I was standing next to him for a while
You know there's like some of those
Now with the modern science
There are some of these people
That you can tell that just get like surgeries
Sorry
First surgery
Their bodies are like this
And then it just goes like this
And it goes down
and then it goes like this,
and then goes down.
He's kind of like, his body goes like yes,
and then his shit just goes like that,
and then it goes down to his cat.
It's abnormal how big his fucking legs are.
Huge.
Happy is still happening, brother.
Good for you.
I appreciate it.
I appreciate it, man.
I appreciate it.
And now those big-ass trunks are running all over the place.
This guy's going to make Pro Bowl something.
I love it.
Must be nice.
Yep.
That's what Mike McCarthy is going to say.
Hopefully.
All right, good luck, Pat.
And his nice Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh accent, huh?
Do you guys get confused by what he's saying?
Is there a come again?
Is there any of those?
Sometimes.
You have to ask Aaron about that with his headset, but sometimes.
Oh, is that what he was saying?
That's what he was telling him at that moment whenever they had their life.
I'm not in the headset.
I don't know.
Yeah, smart.
Stay out of you, man.
That's good.
Pat Frymer's ladies, gentlemen.
Yeah, moose.
Abnormal.
Huge.
Huge.
It makes sense that he was.
go blocker. But them utilizing
him in the past game has become a real
weapon in Darnel being able to do it on both
sides. And then D.K.'s able to go.
And then Jalen's ever going. If you guys get Pittman back.
Yeah, he's on IR, but he'll be back.
Okay, so you get him back. That's another
weapon that you guys have.
Pittsburgh Steelers' offense could be very
good this year. Rookie coming along. Yeah, luckily,
Germs starting to come along.
Much better life as a Steelers fan right now?
Oh, dude, it's unbelievable.
Like, I posted a for
I don't want to react, but
just a simple, you know,
dig route over the middle that, like,
didn't exist for the last five years.
And it's just nice to have that, you know,
opportunity to have someone who's calling plays,
who's been in Super Bowl, has been really good
in offensive schemes for a long, long time.
Yeah, it's nice.
It's really nice to have an actual real offense in the NFL.
Okay, well, congrats to you guys.
Colts have that as well.
They got a guy.
Yeah, we do.
Tyler Warren, a big day.
You know who's unbelievable for that team?
I'm scared.
We stink.
I don't like it.
Two and three.
Two and ten.
No, no.
You see going too far.
Two and ten.
That ball.
Spencer Schrader might be the best kicker in the land NFL.
And he's from Indiana.
Yep.
I love that, dude.
They kept settling for field goals and not even a doubt.
Like back-to-back, 56-yarders.
Broke his leg.
Broke his leg.
I don't know if it was a knee, but a terrible injury to his leg.
We bring in little Blake Groupie.
He doesn't miss.
Then little Blake Groupie and Spencer Schrader battling and training.
training camp and
like on
come on
might be the next kicker
of the L.A. ramps, look out.
It should be.
That'd be a hell of a
Yeah, well, yeah.
Thicker kicker to Little Blake
Groupie. I'm tired of this shit.
Little Blake Groupie hit a 60-yard against Seattle
in Seattle to win the game
for us. I thought Spencer Shrader was never
coming back and Spencer Shrader still
has yet to miss. Unbelievable
stuff. Little Blake Groupie needs to be on a team
though. What he did for the Colts?
Jeez Louise.
You guys are tired, man.
I'm sick of the guys.
No, no.
Little Blake Groupie.
I call him Triple Pilons, but Little Blake Groupie.
Hey, triple Pilons is crazy because I think it's two and a half.
But Blake, he is not supposed to be as good of a kicker as he is.
It's unbelievable.
He is actually unbelievable.
When you see this, Blake, we love it.
Okay?
I don't want to be.
Blake knows we love him.
Yeah, he does.
We have told him in person.
We have celebrated him.
But he's abnormally small on a football field.
What were you saying?
No.
No, no, I heard it.
He'll sing it out loud.
Oh, geez.
I just got that.
DeBudge, come on.
Lil Blake Groupie is probably going to be the kicker for the Rams.
But it's easy come, easy go at the kicking position.
Mevis, going into the first Monday night football, which was week two after they come back from Australia,
a lot of people telling us, like, hey, would like for you guys to mention Mivas and how good he has been for the Los Angeles Rams.
Because they've been through a lot of kickers.
He's like their fourth kicker in the last, like, three years.
they have the most missed kicks out of any team over the last like four years.
The Rams do.
So Mivas had been great for them over there, like a savior for their team.
Like we need a kicker, we got a kicker.
This year it's just not been like that at all.
How funny the narrative can change from week two to week five on a kicking position.
All you need is a couple of misses, punting position, especially if you're a tweeter, a couple misses.
And all of a sudden you're out the door.
That's why any of these sustained success kickers, it's like every week they've done,
Nick Folk.
Yeah.
He's been doing it for 100 years.
All over.
And every time he goes out there, you expect him to make it.
At the Jets, at the Patriots, now he's at the Falcons kicking indoor.
He's got to feel wonderful down there.
Vinoteri, 22 years doing it.
Like, Justin Tucker was on track to potentially become greatest kicker of all time.
Then he falls off for a year.
Then he can't get back on a team now.
A lot of things happen, whatever the case.
So I always said, like, if Tucker's able to do this for 20 years,
then we can talk about him being better.
than Vinny. Because the sustained consistency of greatness is what it is at the kicking position.
And Mivas, he'll get another opportunity. Hopefully he'll get hot somewhere. Or the Rams stick with
him. Sure. And he gets hot again, which can happen. But it becomes like one of those, like who gets
hot, when gets hot, how you get hot. And then if you can stay hot for five years, you have a five
year career. If you can stay hot for 10 years, you have a 10 year career. If you can stay hot for 20 years,
you have a 20 year career. Go to the Hall Fame. Because they, yeah, you go the whole thing. They don't really have,
a lot of patience normally with these types of misses.
But to your point earlier, the way the Rams have set up their salary cap and their roster,
a lot of high-end, high-spate, high-spade, high-spade, high-spaid, high-spaid.
That means you've got rookie men, not even vet men.
You got rookie men in a lot of positions that are playing special teams.
So if you need to cover an opening kickoff, you probably got a guy that is third, fourth-string,
maybe in some places that linebacker covering a kick there, that's going to give up,
just like the Eagles.
They got a lot of money up there as well.
So you got like some low guys on the roster making huge plays for you.
You're going to have to have great kick or great punter.
And you, Packers got that fixed, don't you?
Yeah, they actually, they're, Trace Mack missed two field goals this week,
which, you know, in most weeks that would show up and wouldn't be great.
It didn't really matter this week.
But like I, their new special teams coordinator and they're in the top half of the NFL,
at least so far.
Yeah, he's a very fiery guy.
But yeah, it literally was.
You watch every week and it was like, all right, at what point are they going to give up an 80-yard kick return?
or at what point is this team going to take a pump back to the house?
It was just week in and week out.
It's a terrible way to watch a football game, actually.
Yeah, tonight, huge night for the NHL.
It's called The Frozen Frenzy.
And it is frantic, Dee Butt.
Oh, yeah.
32 teams in the league?
Guess how many games?
60.
What?
Wow.
That would be everybody.
I know, pup.
Yeah, everybody's playing the night.
There will be 16 winning NHL franchises today.
And 16 losing NHL franchises today.
Now, you can't get a point if it goes to every time and then it goes in a shootout,
but they're going to have a winner because it's 2026 and it's sports.
We shouldn't be able to tie.
Got to know that it ties an option if you're on a football field,
but I appreciate that hockey's on full display today.
There is every team in the league going to do something special and magical.
If you don't have a team, today's a great day to sit down, find one.
There's going to be electrifying players all across the country and Canada.
There's people who got dangles that will look like absolute wizards.
There's power coming from shots that you think a cannon has actually been shot.
And then there's going to be fisticuffs and physicality.
That's going to remind you the old days whenever guys used to go outside and settle their differences.
Hockey is awesome.
And today's a great time for you to find out about that if you're not a fan.
Nick, what are some of the storylines?
I saw, I saw, Ovechkin scored another goal.
930 for his career now.
It's a lot.
That's so many.
So many goals.
That's the most.
He is the most.
Sidney Crosby's still doing it.
What are the storylines that we need to look at?
And how's McJesus doing out there?
Is he still doing McDavid's stuff?
Sid's still doing it.
He's going to take on the Chicago Blackhawks tonight
with Pittsburgh versus Chicago.
Connor Bardard looks likely to make his season debut.
You'll remember Connor was the number one overall pick.
A few years back.
He's supposed to be the next one of these generational style players.
And then you asked about McJesus,
13 points in five games for the Oilers there,
red hot they've won four straight 13 if you don't have a team it sucks that the team is
adamantin yeah sucks yeah for us but that time win for the people in edmonton we know it's awesome
we love that for you there's a guy Connor macdavid he's he's if you haven't watched hockey
just go ahead and watch one guy that is the guy to watch if you want to watch a nice physical style
How are the Panthers doing?
We're a little banged up right now.
Why?
We thought you were supposed to do your bang.
We had three long, you know, runs to the cup.
So Barkey's banged up, Marchy's banged up.
But to Chuck brothers, they're on the same line right now.
So, yeah, go watch those physical ads.
All right, there's great hockey on display all day.
16 games, all 32 teams.
What's up, con, man?
I mean, premier franchise in the entire NHL,
the boss of Bruins are playing at 11 p.m. Eastern.
Are you kidding me?
man. That's a nightcap.
She, you say the best for last night.
And it's a shark tank too. Sharky's going to be going crazy over there.
Sharky's going to ride the rail.
Sharky. Climb the glass.
Bitch, dog. Okay.
Oh, I ain't worried about. No, Sharky.
But give me a break, okay? Some people,
some people live on the East Coast, 11 p.m. man.
Salibriini.
Did you guys make the playoffs last year?
Uh, yeah. We made the playoffs last year.
Did you guys make the playoffs last year?
We did, actually, yes.
Let's talk about the college football players.
Ladies of gentlemen joining us now.
He's a guy.
Lost in the first round.
Must I forgot about that.
Must I forgot about that.
And now Posta's down in the sea, baby, look out.
We took the jersey down.
That's fine.
That was the greatest run out of any hockey jersey this set has ever seen.
I'm proud of that jersey.
No more.
Now Cousy to Buffalo, crowned up.
Showcase to himself as he was covered by Posternak jersey,
which resembled the greatest regular season in the history of the NHL.
Damn right.
How many games did you guys win in their regular season?
Too many to count, bro.
Well, they actually did count, and it was a record.
And then you guys lost immediately in the first round afterwards.
So maybe the best regular season means you're going to be the worst in a playoffs.
No, no, I don't think that's what it means.
What happened was the Florida Panthers, look, they came out, fat out of hell.
And it turns out they were one of the best teams in league and have been since that moment.
Look, stuff happens.
It's the NHL.
It's the only league on the planet.
And I actually do genuinely believe this.
It's only league on the planet where the bottom seed can go on and win the entire thing.
I don't think there's another sport right now that can have that.
65 wins he does have.
Holy shit, man.
That's too many to count.
There's Burgessies last year.
65 and 17?
And then you're losing the first round, like a bunch of bums?
Yikes.
What was the last time the Penguins made the playoffs, bro?
Last year!
We were here.
It took us multiple years to get 65 wins.
Okay, have some respect.
Think about that.
Joining us now is not about hot.
even though I know he's a big hockey fan.
Yeah.
You sure?
Loves it.
He's a Bruins fan.
He won't stop talking to me
every time I see him about the Bruins.
Don't know if that's true.
He's the host of Collins Game Day football and basketball.
And every week, he joins us to wrap up the weekend that was
with Reese's pieces from the weekend.
Ladies and gentlemen, Reese Day event.
Hey, Reese.
You like hockey?
You like puck?
You know what?
I haven't followed it the last few years.
When I moved to Michigan, I learned it and became a Red Wings fan.
but I've not going to lie.
I've lost a little touch.
I feel like I need to go with the predators now because of Sabin.
Stay away from them too.
You need to get a winner.
The Red Wings fans, if they weren't die hard,
I think they've given up on everything too.
They were supposed to bring in Steve Iserman,
who was a legend.
It was the Izer plan.
He was going to come.
That plan is dead and gone,
just like that team pretty much.
The fans are protesting for the first time of my life.
Little Caesar's arena is sparse.
No one is going to the games.
We're on a 10 years.
playoff drought. That's the longest in
NHL. Our captain wants out.
Another guy, one of our better players.
He's in Sweden right now. So,
yeah, we're in a bad spot.
So what we're saying is, Reese,
you were doomed from the beginning when you
pick the Red Wings to be your team.
We would like you to pick another
team. That is awesome.
We got Jay Mack McCordy is a New Jersey
Devils fan. He's going to be falling
along with Jack Hughes. Reese,
you're going to be a Predators fan.
That's going to be short-lasting, I think.
I feel obligated.
I'm going to have to answer for it over the weekends with Sabin if we don't.
Okay.
This might be a four-five-
I'll jump in with him.
Okay.
But because isn't Gump going to help him?
Isn't Gump helping him?
I do like that every time.
Sabin and Gump are around each other.
Gump will just shout something that has happened to the Predators roster.
Okay, so there was a 25-year-old, I think it was traded last week.
And to the Predators, and Gump, he goes, I like the move.
And saving him, is that right?
Senior advisor
So that Gumpy brings out a phone
He has his stance
He goes look this guy shows him a highlight of it
And say that's what we need
We have too many of these guys
Too many of these guys
We need these guys
And Gumpy's like yeah
This is exactly what this guy is
So I think you are kind of a consultant
Right now for the National Predators Gumpi
Is that accurate?
Yeah he was pissed
He didn't get any info before that trade happened
I guess he was supposed to know
Before trades happened
So he was looking for a lot more info on that trade
So I think Gumpy is potentially outing
the organization to their new owner.
All right.
Hey, Jihir, and say, was like, no.
What?
But I need to be hearing this before you tell me, sir.
Okay, let's get to this past weekend.
Reese's pieces from the weekend of college football.
We appreciate you doing this every week.
Our weekend in Tuscaloosa was fantastic.
I know you're an alum there.
Obviously, Alabama has had home of college game day a lot,
especially during the Sabine years now with the board taking the reins.
I loved it, man.
I thought I was going to hate the Coleman Coliseum.
I think it was the right play, and I love what those fans did for us, Reese.
I was really worried about it, Pat.
I was worried they weren't going to come.
We all went and tried to do some social media things.
I talked to some students on campus during the week, and, man, did they show up?
I mean, they gave us a great, loud environment, and I think they were excited.
Maybe they didn't have to stand out in the rain the whole time.
And I think it was the best play because of our crew more than anything else.
You couldn't exactly predict what they might have to face with the weather.
And Alabama fans showed up and made it a great moment.
I think there was like 6,600 people in there.
Good turnout.
I mean, it was absolutely packed.
Couldn't really move because they had their seats.
I don't know if the concessions were going.
Like, as we were looking around, it continued to grow.
It didn't get, like, less people.
People were seeing that it was happening and go, oh, we'll go down there.
It started becoming an event.
The entire bowl started filling up.
it was a scene.
It did feel like it was something that we would remember
and talk about forever as we go forward.
Huge Georgia win.
Oh, my God.
What a win, Rees Davis down there in Tuscaloosa for Kirby Smart,
who was completely untested, they said, coming in.
There's no question.
They weren't tested, and did they ever answer the challenge?
And that's the first thing I think that stuck out to me
more than anything else in this entire weekend
was the Georgia offensive line.
Really, both lines.
of scrimmage, but particularly that front against Alabama. They kept opening up holes for
Dwight Phillips, who, you know, came from deep on the depth chart and just kept having explosive
run after explosive run. They protected Gunner Stockton, who I think played the best game of his
career on Saturday night and had so many clutch throws. And Kirby Smart, the audio has leaked from
the locker room and he said, this is a him or me game. Georgia looked like him. If you want to
use of vernacular of the kids, especially the guys up front on both lines of scrimmage.
Clear cut number one to me now, they look really, really impressive.
And I think that how impressive they were has been a little bit overshadowed by the blown
calls, and there were a couple of blown calls.
But Georgia still, to me, looked like the better team for the vast majority of the game.
How about Gunner playing his best ball?
Keelan Russell, not saying he's not a guy.
I think Keelan Russell is a guy.
This is the non-pass interference call that on the broadcast had a flag.
graphic pop-up.
And Herbie and Fowler both thought it was a clear
past interference. I think a lot of people
that were watching thought it was a past interference.
Some people were saying it was uncatchable. It was like, it hit the guy in the
leg. So I think there's been
a lot worse that have not been deemed
uncatchable when a guy gets hit with the ball.
I think that's going to be tough. Miss calls
happen. Fourth quarter, three
left. I mean, this is a, it's only, it's a 15-yard penalty.
It's not spot foul. It's not on the one. If it happens in the
end zone like it is in the NFL or half the distance, whatever it would have been.
Still a huge blown call that a lot of people, to your point, keep pointing at as opposed to what
Georgia did.
Kirby Smart's pregame speech being like, he seems actually upset about it.
He seems actually upset about it getting out.
And I think he can, I think he'll be able to get the fingerprints from, because the film
goes to the guy's fingers.
I think with the modern technology, he could probably screenshot that thing, get some
fingerprints and figure out who that is.
immediately because if he genuinely doesn't want that out,
I think that's a real
bad thing to let that out.
I would assume I believe Kirby's smart
when he said. Some of these other coaches, I don't
believe, but I definitely believe Kirby smart when he says,
especially, you know, talking, you know,
Bama, the history there, but
I mean, I love hearing the speech because
we think we know who these coaches are.
I would assume that's how Kirby speaks before.
Most games, halftimes have been around
some of these crazy-ass coaches. I love hearing
it, but I do hate, because I do,
as a former player, I love the sanctity
of the locker and what you see here
and you see here stays here and I hate
that shit getting out like whoever that
staff member was I hope they find out and get rid of
or her. Yeah actually
and Kirby might actually
try to do that you know so
if Kirby finds out who it is
I think that sets precedent for him
it will be
a dynamic that will have to
be kind of solved as we go forward
because me hearing Kirby
do that oh I loved it little
baby minus little baby
might just becomes a football player and Kirby Smart's coaching?
Hey, that's where you're headed, brother.
You are. I think it's a good thing for Kirby.
Not a bad thing for Kirby, but I think Kirby doesn't want everybody to know exactly what is the magic
that is happening before they go out there and do what they do, which I respect.
Speaking of magic, hey, Kentucky might have a football team.
There is real chatter down there that Big Blue Nation has a team and a coach, and they've got
some big wins in big moments against some big SEC teams, Reese.
Will Stein has made his presence felt at Kentucky, and also being felt at Oregon, but we'll get to that in a second.
I love the way Kentucky is playing. Now, it's a 50-50 proposition statistically to go for two in just about any circumstance.
But when you get an overtime, as a wildcats have been in the last two weeks, and you have to go for two in the next overtime anyway, why not put it on one play and try to win the game right there?
I understand the concept of extending the game if you're the better team.
Kentucky may or may not be the more talented team in a lot of the games they play,
so they put it all on one play, and they've come through two weeks in a row.
And that kind of thing builds confidence.
And I think you can see Kentucky's confidence growing game by game.
It sort of flew right in the face with sort of an uncharacteristic,
conservative call by Lane Kiffin to punt earlier in there on the idea
that Kentucky had some struggles kicking the field goal
and LSU had the lead.
But Stein has been able to make those calls to win games.
Kenny Menchie is getting better and better.
We heard about how close he was to beating out CJ Carr at Notre Dame
before he transferred.
And he's been absolutely terrific,
taking care of the football, making clutch plays.
Almost at the same time,
Stein's presence is being felt because of his absence at Oregon.
Now, I'm not one to come out and just put it all on an offensive coordinator,
all the time or the office coordinator change.
But the ducks have been sporadic,
even when Dante Moore was healthy.
Dylan Ryola had a really tough game against UCLA.
They put the ball on the ground five times
and turned it over seven times.
So I think it's really, really accentuating
just how good a coach this young guy at Kentucky is
because Stein making his presence felt at Kentucky,
and they obviously miss him a whole bunch at Oregon at the same time.
And then Tosh, he's out.
He goes to Cal on the defensive side as we watch UCLA run 1920s offenses against people and cook them.
Will Stein, whenever he gets to Kentucky, he's asked why he thinks it'll be different with him at Kentucky.
And he said, with all due respect, me, I think I am a difference maker.
He certainly is.
I like the statement at the time, just like I like Signetti calling out everybody night one.
Now, if you go on to lose, I hate it.
I hate what you did.
If you go on to win, I love what you did,
especially if you're able to call your shot in that fan base.
I think they've just been waiting, right?
Isn't that kind of what Kirk Herbstreys been saying?
That's why Herbie, anytime anybody plays against Kentucky,
he goes, poor old Kentucky, just kind of sitting there.
He's did it with Stoops for a long time,
and I thought it was just his friendship with Stoops.
It turns out, Herbie really likes that place as a football school,
and he thinks that they have a chance to really be a big problem,
like for home field advantage,
I think he's always wanted it to happen.
Now, it feels like it's going to happen, Reese,
down there in Kentucky with Will Stein.
Now, flip side, can we talk about UCLA,
whatever you talk about the Oregon?
Nico Iomaleava has been injured.
He's been ruled out.
That offense really run heavy, run dominant.
Obviously, T's and P's positive thoughts for Nico,
as he misses the rest of the season,
transfers from Tennessee after leading them to the playoffs to UCLA.
They do terrible.
Now they're doing very good.
he gets injured out for the season,
T's and P's to Oos out there.
What do we think about Bob Chesney's offense without Nico?
And can UCLA continue to do this, Reese?
It's going to be a major challenge.
Pat, I was talking to their offensive coordinator last week,
Dean Kennedy, before Coach Saban did his film room on their offense
and the things you were referencing in their run game.
And he was telling me about how much they put on Iamaleava
in terms of making sure that they don't run a called run
into a look that they haven't repped
or a look that it's not going to be successful against.
They do a lot of creative things.
They do a lot of things such as tagging plays
with changing blocking assignments
to make the play look different,
even if it's the same one.
A lot of that fell on Nico.
So now they've got a Tai D. Fembach who has a remarkable story.
He didn't even play quarterback until he was a sophomore in high school,
sat on the bench for a couple of years at Pitt,
went to Cal Poly,
little bit, lost his job, got it back, got a chance to go to UCLA. And then he came in and,
you know, look, I'm not saying he set the world on fire, managed the game. And maybe with this
running game, they'll have the opportunity to do so, though I think they're going to have a challenge
against a really, really good run defense in Wisconsin coming up. But UCLA is another one of these
teams with Kentucky, with Missouri, with Iowa, who are still sitting there looking at the
playoff picture. You know, we're at the midpoint of the season, and they've got a path.
You have to earn their keep, win their games, but it's sort of indicative of how quickly
fortunes can turn these days in college football. Yeah, Northwestern also, which all these teams
are crazy to say these names, but it's very real. And we are happy about the parity and the
amount of teams. Ty actually has a question about that in the north. Yeah, to that point, Reese,
there is a massive logjam in the Big Ten right now. I think you can argue, and we'll see what
what the committee would do with UCLA if Nico isn't available to play the rest of the year,
but you could argue that Ohio State, Indiana and UCLA are all in right now.
How many teams do you think the Big Ten is going to get in,
or do you think a lot of those teams who are sitting at five and one right now,
we're going to end up kind of cannibalizing each other?
I think a lot of them will tie.
They'll start beating each other.
I have this theory that's not exactly rocket science,
but if you're not good enough, a loss will find you.
If you're not elite, you're going to lose to somebody that maybe you should.
because you have to bring your A game to beat the better teams.
So I think a lot of them will fall.
I still think we'll probably wind up with three.
I'm not sure exactly who the third one will be.
I haven't lost total faith in USC yet.
That was a big win for them on the road against Penn State.
I know Penn State struggling, but Lincoln Raleigh's had all kinds of trouble in
the Eastern Time Zone.
You go to the East Coast.
You win in the wide out.
Really big win for them.
So I think there will be three teams out of the Big Ten.
I'm just not exactly convinced who the third one will be.
I feel very certain about who two of them will be,
and they play Saturday in Bloomington.
Okay.
What are people going to hate you for in here?
I think maybe, I don't know,
Texas fans are so mad that they're probably not too mad at me
for having them a little bit lower than everybody else.
Maybe there might be a few people hating me for leaving LSU in.
Maybe they think I've got Texas Tech too high.
What do you guys, what do you guys think?
Texas, that lost to Oklahoma's tough.
You know, like that is a tough one.
That is a very tough one.
But they have huge wins.
So if we're just going to count outcomes of games,
I mean, huge, that Tennessee game at Tennessee is a big win.
Ohio State is a big win.
Sarkeesian's come out.
Archmitting has four wins over top 10 teams over the last whatever.
So maybe you get off his piece just a little bit.
It's like when we're watching him play, though,
and it doesn't look like what we wanted to look like.
We wanted to look like he is a manning out there.
So that might be a conversation piece.
I like where you have BYU.
I appreciate how high you have BYU up there.
Ole Miss.
What's that, Ty?
I was just going to say Mississippi State.
I feel like we're just acting like they didn't get beat by 35 by Alabama.
We kind of just threw that one out the window, no big deal.
They did look good before that.
They didn't even move down really at all or moved down one spot after they got beat by.
I mean, I feel like that was a big jump up in competition, got their asses,
that I know the quarterback's great. I get it.
And then Alabama goes on to lose
the next week. To Georgia,
who now sits atop the mountain.
They had been a two. Now they're at one
in your poll and in everybody else's
poll, including the
AP tone
above average poll.
Reese, you in
Tone sit the same at the top of the
polls. You in Tone's polls
are damn near identical to
each other. Tone, what do you think about?
your poll versus maybe Reese's poll on this glorious day.
Yeah, we did have the same top three there.
Not in the same order.
It's just because Ohio State has played a little bit stiffer competition,
I would argue, than Notre Dame,
which is will change.
Well, actually, it won't change this weekend because Notre Dame is getting BYU.
Ohio State's getting Indiana.
But at least Notre Dame is getting a huge road test with Kalani Sataki out there in Provo.
But, yeah, Georgia now has the best win on the season.
You can argue against Alabama.
I think it's at the, I think the top six have clearly said,
separated themselves with these three and then Miami, Alabama, and Indiana.
I think those six are hard to argue that they aren't the top six and then it falls off a little bit as far as eye tests and kind of what you've seen so far.
But no, Georgia clearly the best win in my eyes on the season.
And I don't think it was a downgrade really for Bama because how well they played too.
But yeah, as far as the top three go right now, these would be mine.
I like that you two on your polls, your average polls and your deep poles aren't punishing.
good teams for losing to great teams in a good game.
And I think that's a big part of the discussion
that's going to happen at the end of the year.
I was like, well, I have a loss.
It was like, yeah, but that was...
People get mad at that.
That was a great game, though.
Yeah, but it's still a loss.
I like that you two have looked at the games,
watched the tape, not just the highlights or the lowlights,
and decided that team's still really good
and we'll beat a bunch of people.
Now, George up at the top of both of your guys's polls,
I think everybody expected that,
especially after Texas loses.
has a question for you now.
Yeah, Reese.
Always got to ask you about your number one team.
What do you see is the biggest obstacle going down the line for Georgia?
Is it kind of internally in the locker room?
Maybe something they can't figure out there or the schedule.
Maybe Ole Miss, Missouri, been on the rest of the way.
What do you think?
I don't see anybody on their schedule as complete as they are.
But if you don't play your A game this year in the SEC,
I think the SEC is better than it was last year.
so it's not as if Georgia is invincible,
but I think they're clearly the most complete and the best team.
I don't anticipate any internal issues.
I don't worry about complacency with them.
You know the type of effort you're going to get from a Georgia team
every time they go on the field under Kirby Smart.
Now, they may make mistakes.
They may get beat.
But you don't typically get,
it is very rare that you get a flat effort from them.
So that I don't worry about.
There are teams that are explosive.
I think explosive teams that can protect their quarterback,
maybe even a little better than Alabama did on Saturday night,
could potentially give them trouble.
But boy, I really like the answers that I saw from Gunner Stockton,
particularly on some of those third down plays where they had to have it.
And I don't think we'd seen that from Gunner prior to this season.
He delivered a couple 17-yard seam shots that had to be put into a bucket.
And he did.
and I just don't think in years past, those are going to Georgia.
I think those are going to Alabama in years past.
This year, more confident.
And the way Kirby's talking to them before the game,
I mean, they're going out to war out there.
I mean, they're going out to war.
Let's not be turning a ball over in the middle of war.
If they get complacent, I don't think any coach can keep anybody motivated after what we're here.
Let's talk about this weekend, huge top 10 matchup in your poll and everybody's polls out there in Provo.
Go ahead, Conman.
Yeah, Reese, BYU, New York, Notre Dame.
I think just the average fan is just assuming Notre Dame is going to walk in there and kind of roll.
What do you expect?
I mean, the sports book's having it at 10 points is absurd.
That's the first time I'm seeing that.
But what are you expecting this weekend from Provo, from BYU, in the game itself,
and then just the atmosphere in Utah and how great that place is?
I think the atmosphere is going to be great from game day all the way through the end of the game.
I've called games in Provo before.
I mean, they are into it.
They are not shy and retiring about letting the opposing team know exactly what they think of them and their chances of winning, put it mildly.
So BYU is always a tough physical team.
They run the ball well.
Now, without L.J. Martin, a lot of it has fallen on Bear Bachmeier.
And I do, I do have concerns about whether they can generate enough offense.
I figure they keep this game tight early, that it's a bit of a slog.
It might even feel a little bit like that early game.
that Notre Dame played against Wisconsin.
I expect as the game goes on,
the Irish will take control.
I think they're better in the passing game.
I think they're probably more playmakers on defense,
but it's not going to be easy,
and it won't take many mistakes for BYU to be able to knock them off.
And this is going to be easily the biggest game
in the history of Lavelle Edwards Stadium.
It's the first time in the top 10 match up.
They beat number one Miami years ago,
but they weren't in the top 10.
It's going to be huge.
You're the best.
That's free savings.
We're back on the other side.
Goodbye.
It's incredible weekend last night in Los Angeles
as the Buffalo Beals walk out of week five Monday night football
as a winner in the Los Angeles Rams have another loss early in the season.
We still have yet to see Miles Garrett and Aaron Donald on the field together.
We still have yet to see this Los Angeles Rams defense become this dream defense.
What we have seen is this man be unstoppable.
Put an entire team on his back alongside a bunch of lads who will fight you till the very
end. 37, 34, Buffalo Beals get the dub in Los Angeles, and the Rams have a bunch of questions
being asked if they're really a super team or not. Their special teams has not been that great to let
them down last night. And Josh Allen might just never lose a game ever again outside of the Patriots
at home two weeks ago. Poxy tables here at Boston Connor at Ty Schmidt. Ty, football is awesome.
The NFL is phenomenal. College football is great. More unpredictable now than ever since we've been
doing a live show? I think yes. Yeah, I think so. I think the parody, and it is just
because like the first week of the season, we see a couple teams get their asses beat and you
kind of just throw them out immediately. It's like, okay, this team's going to stink the entire year.
And it just, it really is week in and week out. I mean, you know, even like watching the Packers,
you know, we talked about the Bears and how good they were. You don't expect that. There are at least
four to five games every single week where you are 80 to 90 percent confident that one team who
has looked really good is going to win. And then they get their asses kicked. So it's like you just,
you're in a pretzel going into the next week.
and everything changes again, but it's awesome.
It makes every single week feel like there is so much more at stake.
I think the Aero Tom Pelliserro said on Rich Eisen's show a couple weeks ago
about Justin Herbert maybe being on the move out of Los Angeles,
especially if they go 0 and 6.
I think he just said it.
Like, nobody's talking about this.
Nobody really thinks this could be possible.
But why not? Chargers, if they go up, they are.
They're staring out 0.15.
The team does not look good.
So people heard that from a couple weeks ago.
then obviously the internet does what the internet does.
Now there's a conversation about Justin Herbert
made being tricked.
Whoa.
Got a super under.
I mean, that is the chaos about having a losing NFL team
because there's a lot of teams that are super desperate to get to the mountaintop.
And if they think they have a chance and you have a piece that they think can put them over the top,
there has been some crazy deals made.
People have gotten corners for multiple first round picks.
That's right.
Okay?
They thought would put them over the hump.
And then everybody on the roster gets hurt.
And then you end up sitting with that no pick for the next couple of years as you try to figure out
what the future looks like. I'm talking about the Indianapolis
Colts. Sauce Gardner, not the problem.
Sauce Gardner getting hurt when he got hurt. Everybody else getting hurt when they got hurt
as we're the number one team in a league and in us winning only two
out of the next 12 games with no first round pick going forward.
Is the price you pay to try to get over the top?
Trade deadline looming. Teams that can go, teams that are a no, both happening in real
real time. I think we're going to see some action. Ian Rappaport will join us in about
18 minutes or so.
Nine-year NFL vet, Darius J. Butler is here.
Yes, sir.
Hey, Butch.
We've been talking about this a bit this season and last year.
I think if you go back 10 years,
Peanut Tillman was the only guy that was really perfecting a craft.
But on this particular show,
especially with your incredible ability to snoop it out
and see the greatness happening on the field,
it's time for D.Buts, Peanut Punch Out Spotline.
A lot of them last night in this weekend, D. Buck.
Absolutely. A couple of them on prime time last night
and a lot throughout the weekend.
44 turnovers overall throughout the weekend.
in about three a game, and they're always huge in the game.
This was Lamb, man.
One of his two that we saw.
They recovered one, the Bills did, then the Rams got the other one,
but just an absolute sniper with the right fist from Landman.
And we always talk about a field position, explosive plays, and turnovers,
or what usually dictates the winner in ball games.
Fred Warner, the best in the business right now,
I believe since Peanut Tillman when it comes to punching a ball lot,
he got one to Seattle.
They had two, actually, in that 49ers.
Chris Johnson, the rook out of San Diego.
State for Miami. It's a great punch out right there with the left hand too, so I'm going to give them a little bonus, even though we didn't win the game. And then we got Jake right there from the Vikings right hand. Punch out a clean one.
Big Jake. Yeah, just big Jake, big Jake. We got Sidney Brown right there.
The last name did Tully from the Chargers. I mean, one positive thing, Bo Nix, you got to take care of that football. But as runners in the league, as quarterbacks in the league, Kendall Vidor,
Bears draft pick now, New England Patriots,
punch out on the best tight end right there, Brock Bowers.
So you got to protect that ball, man, as a runner, as a quarterback.
Defenders aren't just coming in.
Usually, AJ talks about it.
It's usually the first guy.
We're playing.
The first guy gets in there, it wraps up,
and the second guy comes in there, punch out.
But you saw it with the landman.
He's punched out.
I think James Cook ran for another three, four yards before he even tried to
get back for the ball.
Just a great job by these defenders all over the league.
Okay, so what's the defense?
I'm going two hands on this stick?
So if I'm coming at you, I mean,
I think K9 does it the best
because he has the
he kind of puts the other one over the arm
but if I'm coming at you right here
I'm just trying to find a spot
just get it down top down
behind you
if I'm behind it's a punch
it's a punch
good ball scary right
yeah that's good
so you go boom
little X right here
used to be three points of pressure
three or four points of pressure
now you kind of got to go
yeah put a little extra
in the box
actually you know what
I get this.
Yeah, you just do.
Ooh, ooh, yeah.
I don't think so.
I don't think so.
Damn it.
I don't think so.
A lot of them are like the guy is running straight at you.
And it's like a straight punch down.
Like an O-Lay.
And the thing about it as a runner,
which never would have happened in the past.
It ever would have happened.
Coaches would have hated,
players would have had it,
and you're scared to get ran over when you think about it.
But even if I'm going to tackle a 250,
or let's say I'm going to tackle James Cook.
And once I go to that ball and I hit it,
your natural, like, human instinct is to, like, tense up.
So you no longer become this explosive powerful running.
Now you just turn going immediate old shit mode.
And these linebackers with the power corners, we're seeing D tackles.
We've got specialists.
Everybody, they're just punching his ball alive.
And they're doing it from the day you step in the OTAs through the practice.
Pat, you remember, guys will be running out of bounce and you'll be messing with him.
Punching ball.
Yeah, I'm on the sideline punching ball.
You hit a guy, you know, 16-year like Frank Gore, and he looks actually like want to punch you in the face.
You know, five seconds after the play.
but it just kind of reps it mentally for these runners because the ball is the program.
Yeah, it's a different game on defensive side, speed, athleticism.
They're securing tackles while also punching out.
I think natural evolution of the move.
And you talk about Frank Gore punching out.
I would never done that just so we have said.
I know who and probably not to do.
But I'll tell you, I assume I was part of a story of a guy maybe not making a team.
You know, it wasn't just me.
It was obviously the rest of training camp.
He needs to look at himself, but you punch the ball out.
on a guy that can't cover a kick maybe, you know?
Yeah, I would like to see this guy.
Boom, runs by, ball punched out.
Boom, ball, ball, ball, boom.
Defense goes, this guy head down, runs back to the entire thing.
I feel terrible, okay?
I feel absolutely terrible.
The guy wasn't going to make team.
That certainly doesn't help.
But there is something that's stressed on a football field everywhere.
Me and Vinny are standing on the sideline.
Ball comes from the corner.
We're getting water because we work so hard.
These guys would never get hot.
We're getting water.
catches the ball, comes down, out of balance, runs to the sideline.
He's about turn around and run back.
I mean, not just me.
There's defenders on the field that are standing over there.
Everybody is just looking to get that ball of the hand.
Ball out of the hand is automatic check on the offensive side.
It's like it has talked about more.
Chartered.
Than anything else charted.
But the defense is trying at all times.
I actually got one.
Philadelphia Eagles, kickoff a turn.
One out of bounds.
I wish of all.
Yeah.
Well, that's because basketball.
From the side or?
Yeah, yeah.
I did basketball.
The guy was definitely going to shake me and do the reach around.
you know, the lazy basketball defense.
Yeah, when you're going to do that.
The goal defense.
Did one of those.
Ball goes flying.
I'm like, wait a minute.
Have you had him break my fists.
Elbow.
Nobody's really getting hurt from these.
Joining us now as a guy that I think would have been great
if it was maybe expected out of him,
especially with his.
Yeah, exactly.
Taekwondo abilities.
College football, national champion,
Super Bowl champion,
Ryder Cup winner, winner, ladies of Jim, A.J. Hawko,
you can hit the elbow, I guess.
That used to be the fears
is that you're going to miss and hit elbow, maybe break hand,
or are you going to miss tackle?
The peanut punch now is seemingly hotter than ever.
Yeah, I don't think it was ever really.
You were worried about punching elbow and getting hurt.
It was more missing the tackle, like especially if you're the first man too.
And Landman, this dude is unbelievable.
Like, sit there, you're taking on a block with one hand.
It's right.
Like, why try to completely disengage and wrap up with two hands when you can,
you clearly see that ball in that compressed gap?
Like, just thing of beauty, how, I can't believe how accurate these guys are right now.
Like, they are so accurate.
it would be a nightmare to be a guy running the ball because even when you do have two hands on it,
if he punches it perfectly, that thing's coming out no matter what.
These guys are practicing, I think, right?
Precision punching or practicing.
Practicing out a lot.
It could change an entire game.
The maniac, Darius Leonard, Schuil, Leonard for the Colts.
He was, he made Pro Bowl because of it.
He had eight turnovers in there were mostly all punchouts.
It's becoming a part of the game.
The offense needs to know that defense takes advantage of it.
We love where the state of ball is.
What are your thoughts on last night's game, AJ, before we pivoted,
to the frozen frenzy. What to showcase a ball in that second half. Yeah, what a showcase of just
talent. I mean, Puka goes wild. We see, we know what Stafford and Josh Allen can do, but just
Josh Allen, like, he's a true dual threat guy and he's a big old, big old quarterback that is
not scared to run the ball. And like, did he slide last night at all? Do you remember seeing him slide?
No. Yeah, that's what's wild. I think this gigantic guy that's not lumbering down the field either.
He is as fast as it gets. And then he's not sliding at the end, too. Like, just creates nightmares for
defense to try to adjust to something like this because as Dibut said earlier, like one spy is not
going to make it work. You just got to, it's got to be a full 11 guys. Your whole rush lanes have to be
perfect and the guy still can exploit you at times. Yeah. And you talk about him sliding. He was just
trying to run that guy over who was gnawing on grass. So I mean, he was trying to get on top of
somebody who was going to cut out his ankles. I mean, he's trying to still get something.
He's trying to go get him down there. It's like, Josh, you're a psycho, a lot different than his
rookie year. This was all he had.
All he had was his running ability.
He couldn't hit the broad side of the barn for a better metaphor with how he could throw.
He's locked in his throws, but he came out immediately after the game in his interview.
I believe it was with Ms. Laura and said, we've got to throw the ball better.
Got to throw the ball better.
He ran for over 120 yards.
He had 210 yards passing.
How much more does he want to go for?
I mean, is this guy want to go for 600 yards a game?
We got to throw the ball better.
It's like, bro, yeah, I think he did one over 200 there, 120 here.
We got touchdowns galore here.
We got guys eating all over the place.
It's like he still wants more, still needs more.
This is the big question now, AJ, and I hate to sound like sports media guy, but is this a sustainable way of playing football to win a Super Bowl?
You know, I can't just ask, is this a sustainable way to play football and be good and have success?
It's like, can he win a Super Bowl like this?
Because that's the only question about Josh Allen.
And he has a freestyle style of quarterback.
I don't know when the last time a freestyle quarterback won
the Super Bowl feels like systems
often win the Super Bowl.
What about Ben?
I don't know. Ben was kind of a free style.
He did not run as much as Josh, obviously,
because he would run around.
And then, yes, he played within the system,
but he did do a lot of backyard shit.
I was just trying to think of someone, like, closest to that.
Yeah, because he's a backyard football player.
Josh Allen is a backyard football.
Yeah.
The best backyard football player of all time.
Josh Allen.
Yeah.
Tone Diggs is pretty good.
Thanks.
Tund dig is pretty good.
Okay.
Pretty pretty good.
Yeah, he was a good player.
Good play all sides.
I also pretty good player.
Yeah.
Bar Jackson.
Yeah.
I mean, is he going to tackle?
Patrick Mahal.
Is Lamar Jackson going to tackle?
Yeah, Pat, I think he'd be comfortable with it.
If we're buying backyard football.
Yeah.
I mean, that is the thing, though, is Lamar.
Lamar's not a small dude, but Josh is as big as the end.
And Lamar doesn't take the big hits.
Yeah.
That's like one of the talents that Lamar has,
is he has the ability to avoid massive contact.
Josh Allen.
Josh can. He's definitely looking for contact.
I think also he is very calculated in how he goes about it.
I might not look like it at times,
but I think he knows when he can win that matchup,
when he can not slide.
And he's smart enough to step out of bounds when he needs to.
Sorry for the laughing while we're doing that.
This is a very serious subject.
We hope all quarterbacks have the ability to win a Super Bowl.
We haven't been able to see it.
There's breaking news out of the NFL.
little Blake Groupie is now the kicker for Los Angeles Rams Angeles Rams.
Wow, what a call.
Boom.
Harris has been released.
We did talk about this just in the first hour.
We just need a video.
Nobody was really, uh, send a video.
Nobody was really taking it serious on this particular set as we chit chatted about the amount of pylons it would take to match his height as a whole.
They go from thicker kicker, which we've never seen.
Janikowski was big.
Janikowski was big.
but to just be openly kind of, yeah, I'm cool with how I'm bigger, you know,
I don't think we've really seen high success at that.
I think there is some things to it with how much explosion you need,
how much you need to be able to move, how you need to be able to move,
is certainly a convo.
But Mivas had been one of the best kickers in the entire league all last season,
and the Rams loved him coming into the year,
misses a couple kicks, gets a kick block.
All of a sudden, a little Blake group he's available.
He comes flying in to save the day.
LA is going to love Little Blake Groupie.
I mean...
If he makes his kicks.
He will make his kicks, though.
The only reason why he's not the Colts kicker still
is because Spencer Schrader had a perfect career.
Then he gets hurt.
Shane Steichen says,
don't feel like you should be able to lose your job,
has full competition.
Blake Groupie missed like one kick for us,
two kicks for us.
This guy is phenomenal.
If they had him last night,
I think Little Blake Groupie steps up
and knocks all those through no matter what.
I'm excited for him to get out there.
Also, more breaking news out of the NFL
before we pivot to the frozen frenzy.
congratulations to Jemar Chase.
His people's elbow celebration appeals
have been rescinded.
Wow.
Yeah, he said you guys were thinking worse about me
all of a sudden without even talking to the NFL PA.
Kind of like the booze thing where the NFL was like,
that's beer, that's booze, that's not water,
that's not data rate, even though you're professional athletes,
that's definitely alcohol.
The players are all like, whoa,
you guys got an alcohol problem.
If every single drink is an alcohol problem,
alcohol. That sounds like it's
a you problem, not an e-problem. I like
Jamar Chase did the same thing. First of all,
it didn't get a warning. Supposed to get a warning.
Second of all, you guys are disgusting.
That's what you guys are thinking. Can I be honest
for his day? I like that defense.
You thought it was what?
Oh, my. Is that all you guys think
about? Jeez,
Luis. Deviant sex. First off,
those were definitely beers and that was definitely
his dong. He was flopping.
Whoa!
Can't prove that.
I don't think Jamar watched a lot
attitude there for us.
That ain't the damn people's elbow.
No, it's not.
Well, we don't know how many people have seen that elbow
or what the elbow potentially is.
And maybe there's some other group that has a people's elbow.
Maybe.
Maybe some of these things that we've never seen before have elbows, you know?
But what Jamar Chase is saying is,
hey, that's disgusting, that that's immediately where your head went
without me even getting a chance to talk about what it is.
And he wins his appeal.
I like that.
I like that bar.
I like that part.
Congratulations, tomorrow.
Showing it got humans in there.
Hey, reasonable doubt, bro.
Okay, you just got to prove reasonable doubt.
That's on you for saying that's a big old dong.
Not me, you pigs.
That's what he said in the appeal process.
I like that.
I like that a lot.
But I do think the NFL got their point across with everybody.
Sure.
Now, there's been more penalties through week five than any other season since the merger.
We need to slow that down.
But I think with the flags,
with the big conversation, the NFL
wanted to reiterate to players.
Like, hey, let's remember, we're not.
Yeah. We don't need to be.
We're still good to do the people's elbow there, right?
He's doing the rest of the year, correct?
They greenlit it, right?
And said, you're good?
I think there might have been a potential
wink, wink,
nod, let's not be doing
big old dong like elephant trunk stuff.
Okay, let's keep that away from
the body, but...
You can put it up here, though.
Yeah, he could do a...
Yeah, sure.
Yeah.
With the point.
Yeah.
Let's get out of football in celebrations.
Congratulations to, you don't win a lot of those appeals.
No.
Every one of these wins, we should celebrate, AJ.
Yeah.
I blame Jordy.
Jordy's head was in the gutter.
He was the guy putting on the fines one.
He's part of that crew.
He's in there?
Jordy Nelson saying these guys are boozing.
That's a penis.
That's what Jordy Nelson is doing in?
I mean, Derek Brooks, Jordy, I believe, a couple other people are on.
I think they're on the appeals process.
So maybe they're the ones that freed him up and said,
no, he's good to go.
It was not a big old don't.
You're right.
I could see that being a lot of things.
That's a hose maybe.
Yeah, sure.
Yeah, I understand what you're saying.
Or the people's elbow.
And Jordy's like, I don't, this is what you're saying it is because it looks like he goes.
Yeah, he wasn't around that time.
He was watching.
Yeah, he knows.
Watching the rock.
You know.
I don't know.
I don't know if it's the people's elbow.
And Jamar's like, I take my.
Yeah.
Before.
And then I was just kind of, that was my body.
dropping the elbow. You see, the elbows actually
up here. So
joining us now is not from football, and he's
been waiting around. We apologize for that.
The man is going to be able to tell us everything we need
to know about this frozen frenzy Tuesday.
All 32 teams will be playing tonight. 16
winners, 16, bum-ass.
Losers. Excitement and energy
from one side of the league to the other.
Superstars in abundance. If you're not a hockey
fan. Today's a good day to find
who your team is going to be, as
this NHL season is about to be the best
season
yet. Joining us now, 13 year, NHL
veteran stud, P.K. Suvain.
Yay! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Hey! Hey! Hey! No problem,
guys. Happy to be back. Do you see that people's elbow? Do you see that people's elbow
from Jamar Chase? I did.
I did. I don't mind the extension
on that. I don't know. What's the, you know, I don't mind. I don't
right now.
Yeah, maybe the guy's given fines
are just here their whole lives.
Yep, yeah.
You know, and this is how they live.
Growers, show her, what do you mean?
One size is all size.
So whenever he's...
Hey, don't let them in the end zone, Pat.
Don't let them in the end zone then.
That's right.
If you don't want to see how big it could be,
don't let them in the paint.
All right, P.K., let's talk about the frozen frenzy,
shall we?
32 teams, 16 matchups.
I don't know how many years this has been going,
at least the last few.
I love this.
What are some of the storylines
that we need to know have begun early in this year?
Well, there's a lot of storylines.
Obviously, Florida is going to be a focal point with the Brady-Kachuk trade.
And we saw Barkov go down.
We've seen Marshawn go down.
Now, they're not out the rest of the season, but maybe people are changing their picks.
I still think Florida's a team to beat.
We look at a big matchup tonight, Washington and Carolina,
which we saw the first matchup, Washington handed it to them pretty good.
so I would assume that Carolina wants to come out and write the ship again.
But, you know, it's the usual suspects, you know, as usual.
The McDavid's, all these players are playing at the top of their game,
but it's the young players for me.
Like tonight you got to stay up to watch that San Jose Boston game.
McElhlin-Colabini's box office right now, but it's all the rookies.
Anton Frundel in Chicago's been great.
Kevin Connolly and Vegas is having an amazing year.
So, you know, I think that there's a lot to watch, but specifically the young players, like the game to watch tonight might be Toronto and Utah with the way McKenna has started the season and he's kind of coming into his own.
It's early, but it's must watch TV for me.
I'm watching hockey every night and I can't stop.
So, Jay, Jay.
No, I thought that was going to end, PK.
I just kind of shut you down right there.
I thought you really nailed the landing there.
Then you did a little skipping go.
That's on me.
60 games, I mean, my good.
Goodness.
Yeah, let's...
What's going on.
I need one for every single game.
I need you to have a take for it.
AJ will provide another opportunity.
Go ahead, AJ.
Yes, I appreciate the overview, P.K.,
but a comment made by Kutrov said the game is faster but dumber or but very dumb right
now.
And he's saying it's like low IQ.
What exactly does he mean by that?
Is that something you agree with?
Well, as a player, you understand exactly what he means by that.
And I think that the game, we put so much of a focus on, you know, doing everything super, super
fast, but the reality is that there's probably a handful of guys in the game that can play
the game at top speed and do everything at top speed, right? You watch Macklin-Cellebrini
caught on McDavid play. These guys do everything at top speed. So I still think that there's a fine
art to the game that requires poise and patience and thinking. And that's why hockey's the
hardest game to play, in my opinion, because you need all of those tools to be successful at it.
And Kuturov's a blessed guy. You know, no one's going to be.
going to see the game through his goggles, but you got to take the time to understand him.
So, you know, there's a language barrier there, but I think what he means is that it's not
always about being fast. The game has some bright spots, but, you know, the talent is very,
very few guys can do what Kutrov can do, right? So he's in a class of his own. And, you know,
when he speaks freely, it's always must-see TV. So I hope we get more sound bites out of Kooch this
year. I know they're going to probably put the reins on him, but I'd like a micro-mic
opponent in front of him after every game.
I really would. Yeah, we'd like Cooch to be out here
a little bit louder. For the good of the sport, you talk
about him being in a league of his own. There's somebody else
up in breathing that air as well. Go ahead, Connor.
Yeah, P.K., Connor McDavid,
I think the stat was said earlier. He's got
like 13 points or 15 points through his first
five games or six games. Ridiculous
stuff still. Is this
the year they're finally going to get it done? Do you think
the Oilers have what it takes to
win a cup? I know you said Florida, but do you see them
representing the West? And what should
the expectation be for
Edmonton this season.
I listened to Mike Babcock's post-game speech after their last win.
And, you know, the last point that I took from his speech was we're going to get a whole lot
better.
And I've seen them get a lot better since the first game.
They're harder on the puck.
They're harder to check.
And, you know, there's going to be questions about how he coaches this team, right?
He's putting the big guys together, expecting them to drive the bus.
And then the third and fourth lines and depth guys got to do their job.
So everyone's going to have a role on that team.
You're going to have to follow suit and fall in line.
I think that, listen, Mike Bob Cox is a great coach.
Like, who's going to say he's not?
He knows X's and O's.
He knows how to get the most out of players.
But that's all going to be seen.
I still think Edmonton has issues in net.
So their goaltending issues and some of their defense,
they're going to have to manage that.
And those are areas that I'll be paying close attention to
because when you look at the West,
offensive teams,
San Jose's a sleeper team.
You got to be careful.
Utah's a sleeper team.
Vegas, if they make it to the playoffs,
healthy.
My goodness, if they can just be healthy,
come playoff time,
they're a surefire contender.
So for Edmonton, yes,
I still believe that they are a true contender
because of the coaching,
because of their team
and the structure that they're going to play with.
Make no doubt about it.
You get Connor McDavid to a conference final.
It's a sprint from there.
So can they get to the conference final?
I don't think there's anybody that's going to disagree with that.
Whole season to play, but I think they're on their way.
I think they're moving in the right direction.
We told a lot of people, if you're not a hockey fan,
find that Edmonton Oilers game on late night and watch 97 or whatever it is.
He is outrageous.
He's faster than everybody else in the ice.
He's seemingly better than everybody else in ice.
He's physical, and he's going to score and get an assist in that game.
And then we're never going to see him in the prime time because they're going to lose early.
Now, you talked about them having goalie problems.
They're not the only one up there in Canada.
Ty has a question for you, P.K.
Yeah, PK, what the hell is going on with Hallibuck?
It seemed like after the United States won the gold medal,
I don't know if he just kind of decided or came up with like,
you know what, Winnipeg sucks.
I don't want to be here anymore.
I want to go back to the United States.
I know he's currently suspended still.
Is there going to be any movement on that?
Is he going to get traded maybe to a team in the States?
Maybe to a team like the Golden Knights.
Or what should we expect from that whole situation?
great question uh that's completely up to the winnipeg jets as far as i'm concerned and what they
want to do uh when you sign a contract as a player uh the team has every right to make you sit or
suspend you they don't have to trade you so i you know i don't i want to be very very careful
because as a player who has missed games sitting out during a contract dispute it's much
different than being under contract and sitting out and uh you know i don't always condone players
it out even though I did it. But I'm going to tell you right now, in this situation, it doesn't
look good to me from where I am because I look at the Winnipeg Jets who have been a top team in the
National Hockey League over the past couple of years. Going back to 2016 when I was playing with Nashville,
we won the President's trophy. They beat us in the second round. So he was a part of that
team. And he was still leaky in that playoffs, by the way. But I'm going to get back to that
in the second. Winnipeg has been a fantastic team. They've been a bright spot to the NHL.
their fans are awesome.
I don't know what's gone on off the ice
as far as people giving it to him or whatever
when he came back from the Olympics.
But my goodness, you sign a long-term extension like that.
You don't want to play for that team.
The whole concept of playing in the National Hockey Weeks
to win the cup, I don't know where there's a better opportunity
for him to do that other than in Winnipeg.
He's had great teams in front of them.
I think Connor Hellebuck has to play a lot better.
But to comment on the situation and where they're at right now,
I don't know what Winnipeg's going to do, and I don't care.
If they decide to move them, they decide to move them.
If they make them sit, they make them sit.
Right now, there's no pressure on Winnipeg to do anything.
Their team's playing well.
You know, as far as I'm concerned, they're rallying around it.
We saw that Tyler Bauer kid who's fighting every night.
My goodness, if you get a chance to watch this kid, I watch them in the HL,
tough his nails.
But I got to give it to Winnipeg.
They've rallied around it.
Kyle Conner's taking his game to another level.
That's where I want to keep the focus on in Winnipeg.
not Hellebuck. Listen, he's accomplished a lot in his career.
I'll give him that. But if you're under contract, you've got five years or six years on your deal and you want to sit out for a trade, that's on you.
I'm not going to spend time talking about it. Once he gets moved or if he gets moved, I'll visit that.
There's my guy, Tyler Bauer. My goodness. This guy can throw him.
Okay, and it looks like he likes to. Love that. Good for hockey.
Where are you from, just so we can get a little perspective. Where are you from, P.K.?
I am from Canada.
I'm from Toronto, Ontario.
Canada.
Okay.
What did Hallibuck do?
What did Hallibuck do that potentially pissed off an entire country?
Just if you could remind me of what he did?
Well, are you talking?
What are you talking about?
I stood on his head.
Stonewall him.
Stoenwall.
Stoing on his absolute head to win the gold medal in the Olympics.
And every American that was playing for our American NHL teams
after winning the gold medal for the country.
Not just that.
Women's and Paralympics as well.
We have all of them.
We own hockey.
So after we come back, all the lads are playing for American teams, standing ovations.
Heroes welcome.
They're doing the national anthem that immediately afterwards, speaking of America, here's
some damn good Americans right here.
Way games.
How are you doing?
How you doing?
Both teams.
How you doing?
Then there's America guys that go back and play in Canada.
Headlines the next day they wake up, this coward piece of shit.
It's like, oh.
Hey, well, I think, Pat.
that they actually said that.
Hold on, hold on.
I need to make sure I clarify.
Did not actually say that.
But vastly different experiences.
And you can understand why the Canadians would potentially feel that way
about the Americans in that particular situation
and why the Americans felt that way about the Americans in that situation.
So it's interesting how one achievement,
one historic game by Hallibuck could potentially change a lot of stuff,
but I think it did.
I think it actually did from the human standpoint.
But hockey has never been.
this super loud get me out of this town sport so i think this is a bit abnormal right pk
but it it is definitely for me i absolutely love winnipeg i love the city i know a lot of my
teammates ex-teammates have played there listen i'm not here to speak for connor hellabuck
he can speak for himself on his reasons for wanting out i understand that a lot of american-born
players want to play in their country brady kachuk people are giving it to him he wants to play with
his brother guys like are you kidding me
like that's the end of the story he wants to play with his brother go play with your brother
he won the national hockey league and and you can make an argument you can make an argument that they
haven't won a big part of the reason why they haven't won so i'm not saying it's all on him but
we have to look at it objectively here we have to if he doesn't win the gold medal as he's sitting
out right so so my my question is my question is what is the reason i want to get full dee
details on it. Because you win an Olympic gold medal doesn't mean you get to come back and then say dictate whatever you want to do. It doesn't work that way.
It does. Yeah. That's exactly what I'm understanding.
And from our to say that's why it matters so much. Fired up. That's why it matters so much. Four nations, fun. We like four nations. We'd like to win that one too. The one over in Switzerland that you guys claim the wheelchair.
Who cares about that? Okay, that's fun. You guys have done. The Olympic one, I do think it means you can walk into any barn.
and kind of say, hey, I don't want to play here anymore.
How many years left on the deal?
A lot.
Sounds like five, five to six.
A lot.
How many years does he have left on that deal?
And when did he sign it?
Sounds like information that we don't need to hear.
He's got five years left on that.
He's got a half a decade.
I was on MVP.
You're the best, PK.
We would like to let Canada know.
We understand.
It would not have been like that as bad in America
because hockey's done our number one sport.
But if it was an NFL thing,
and Canada won the football thing.
And there was Canadian teams and there was American teams.
And the Canadians come back into America and start, you know,
I think American media and humans would have a certain feeling.
Just the nature of the beast.
I didn't love that Hallibuck, who was our MVP in that gold medal game,
by far, Jack Hughes, huge goal.
Hallibuck, though, saw every puck, stopped every one of them.
Yeah.
100 shots, not enough.
This guy went absolutely crazy to not get the chance to experience everything,
all his teammates were experiencing.
Like, what the fuck do I do this for?
Yeah.
You're like, well, five years, a lot of money is what you're doing it for.
Okay?
Shut up.
Go getting that net.
We don't know if that's the reason.
We assume.
Last question here, PK, before we let you go, got to know what's going on.
Go ahead, Dee, bud.
Yeah, Pek, you already mentioned Florida Panthers still your favorite to win it all,
so I assume you have confidence in March him in the net.
But AJ texts me, he has to get the details on this shirt that you have on.
We got to know where you got this tarp from.
What's the brand?
I know you're a fashion icon, but give AJ these details piece.
He was scared to ask.
You talking about this shirt here?
Yeah.
What I'm wearing right now?
Yeah.
That's not a shirt.
Simone Roca.
Simone Roca.
She's doing a lot of great stuff.
I love this shirt.
I picked it up actually early fall.
I've been waiting until today to bust it out.
But I also got my Rick Owens boots on tonight.
Rick Owens.
Clean.
I got the end of Mr.
Pants.
Yeah.
I don't need to be seen.
Tight-wasted?
Tight-wasted.
So I'm all buttoned up.
I'm buttoned up today.
And Pat, by the way,
I wasn't going to put my outfit on
until I got to studio,
but I knew I was coming.
Hell yes.
So I put my outfit on for the car ride
just to make sure that I was looking tight and right
for your show.
Yeah, he put that shit on, dude.
I have to put the shit on.
The other day, you were wearing something
that was just so absurdly ridiculous.
What was it?
It was like a dublee?
So let me go through that.
look. A lot of people have questions on that look. It's a specific look. We're really going for that
kind of 60-70s Jimmy Hendrix Valle. Dries Van Norton's doing a lot of creative things right now.
He's hot right now. Pat really hot in the fashion world. So it was a deep V. Probably a little deeper
than most people would wear, specifically men, you know, but hey dude, you got to put that
shit on, you know?
You do
got to put that shit on.
Who's the guy who's doing a lot in the fashion world?
Dreece Van Norton.
One of my favorite.
Dries.
Dries.
Hey, Dries Van Norton.
They say when Van Norton gets the smoking
in there, oh, you're going to be
taught in the good stuff there.
Where's he from?
Right now. Where's Van Toten? He's
Dutch?
No.
He's from, I think he's same as Vivian
West.
would I think he's Belgian
might be Belgian
there's a very
they speak a lot of English
over there and Flemish
mostly John Todd Van Dammeish and then they beat the
shit out of us in soccer right
yeah yeah this is
yeah this is
Dres van Norton
Dries Van Norton
here he is
this is a Dreece Van Nouten
and what are you wearing now you're wearing
Sealed hair the trousers
The trousers are crazy
in that too. You can't sleep on those trousers.
Those are the Burberry trousers. I'm not a big
burberry guy, but those trousers
I had to have. And then it's the
details, Pat. Yeah, Dries is from
Atterrey. Is that Ricky
Owens on your feet? That's where my uncle lives
actually. Ricky Owens, Ricky O's
always, there's always a hint
of the inspiration of Rick
Owens, definitely. What did Moose say?
What did Moose say when you
walk in? Okay, that's a great
question. I'm so happy you ask
me that question because most people
are probably like mess probably thinks this guy's the biggest idiot and he has to work with him right
but mess didn't say it mess is very complimentary off camera i don't know if he'll give me the compliments
on camera because he's got his buddies watching that stuff but off camera off camera he always tells me
i look great so that's a shout out the mess i appreciate he's a best teammate that's why he's a
captain and a leader right he lets everybody be themselves so great teammate he comes right in
and say hey you put that shit on today hey you're the bad pk right you're the bad pk
Yeah, B'ay.
Great question.
Had to add.
As soon as he popped up.
Had to ask.
That ate into a lot of time that this man has.
Ladies of gentlemen, joining us now, junior NFL insider from ESPN NFL Network.
I'm sure he's got some Gros Van Norton and some Serovan Merrill.
Ladies of gentlemen, Ian Rappaport.
Yeah.
Junior, what's that there?
What's that you got on here?
This is flag and anthem that I got on right now.
It's a great.
need a leather jacket, right? We've seen you guys.
Need one. Yep.
And I do have, I didn't bring it today. I got a
leather and I got a members only.
I didn't bring either today since it's nice outside.
That's still going to let you on the show? I don't know.
We'll find out. I have not talked to them yet.
So I got a couple minutes.
It's a big day with big treats.
Breaking down all of the big plays.
Big plays right now, potentially.
Coming out of last night, any updates on anything?
I know Blake Groupie, little Blake Groupie, just got signed
the Rams. I believe he's going to be an upgrade, even though we all thought Mivas was going to be
one of the best kickers in the NFL. Blake Group, he never missed for us. Spencer Schrader just got
healthy. He legitimately has not missed. So little Blake Groupie will be good out there.
Any other transactions or trades that we need to be keeping an eye out for? Marvin Harrison Jr.
Moves of the Texans, that was crazy the way that all went down. Schaefter got to the bottom
of that. Any other names we need to keep in mind that could potentially be on the move?
Yeah, I mean, you hit the Rams one. That was obviously big with the kicker news. Expect them to
dedicate more time to special teams now. You mentioned the Harrison trade. I would say this.
You're going to see a lot of trade conversations now kind of going on around the league as
teams, you know, some teams are hitting bys. Some teams maybe need a little more. I would say a name
that I've been wondering about is Joanne Jennings. So he's with the Minnesota Vikings,
had like two catches. Obviously came over from the 49ers. I expect his name to heat up a little bit
over the next, you know, probably a couple days and weeks.
And obviously, the 49ers lost Debo for a couple weeks, too, so they make sense.
That would be a name for me to keep an eye on over the next little bit.
Like, those are the kinds of trades, we'll see, I think.
Quick follow up on Deba.
That was a non-contact, it appeared.
What was that?
I know we've heard it's a couple weeks.
Yeah.
So it was just a bad hamstring pull.
I was told out two weeks likely, and then they have the buy.
So it'll probably be re-evalued it after the buy.
I do not believe that he's headed to IR.
So the hope is he can come back within that four game, but five-week window.
AJ has a question about a quarterback in a hamstring in Chicago.
Go ahead, AJ.
Yeah, what's about Caleb Williams?
What's the prognosis on his return?
I think it looks pretty good for this week.
First of all, he returned to practice Friday last week.
And they listed him as questionable, which didn't really have a chance to play last week.
But he did work out pregame pretty hard.
And so I've seen that workout.
practice Friday.
It was a three to four week injury.
This is the fourth week.
There's a pretty good chance we see Caleb Williams back,
which like, you know, no disrespect to anyone involved,
but the Bears will be better when they have one of the best
quarterbacks in the NFL out in the field.
Like, that'll be a good thing for sure.
He won multiple games without them.
That's a great quarterback room.
That's what backup quarterbacks are supposed to do.
If he can get back and play the way that Case Keenham played,
that first night on Monday night football against the Eagles,
the way Tyson Bayesian played whenever they had more first downs
than the Jets had plays as a total.
excited to see Caleb get back.
Maybe with a refresh mind on how to operate as he sees somebody else do the offense.
It's supposed to help, yeah.
Yeah, help for Bryce Young down in Carolina whenever he saw Andy Dalton.
Let's talk about two other players that we haven't seen in some time.
Go ahead, D. Bud.
Yeah, two elite pass rushers.
Miles Garrett, they said in broadcast he wasn't close to return it, which was kind of surprising me.
And Michael Parsons, who's supposed to be coming back soon here, any update on those guys.
Okay, so for Miles Garrett, I was told it was about a six-week injury.
maybe a little longer, but probably about six weeks.
So we had surgery the day after week one.
So I would say week seven is probably a good target for him.
This is week six.
So I would say there's a chance.
Come on.
Yeah.
There's a chance.
Come on.
That was, I nailed that.
What do you mean?
I nailed that.
Yeah, but we're just saying last week you had no idea a week.
We're way too early in the season for you not to know what week.
No, I checked before I came on just so I would know the week.
And then I forgot what I had checked.
But anyway.
Proud of you.
So I think there's a chance he practices this week.
My guess is week seven he's at least practicing.
His return is coming.
And it's like you'd like to have him out there,
but you want him when he's out there to be 100%.
And I think he will be.
For Michael Parsons, the way that Packers evaluate things are medical first above all,
no matter what, and then football.
They are very conservative.
He's not going to practice this week.
I think there's a chance he practices next week.
hopefully will he get out on the field and play?
I don't know, but his return is coming too.
It's just they are not going to put him in harm's way at all.
And this defense played really well last week without him.
Yeah, they looked unbelievable.
9-3-1 with Micah last year.
Then they would lose six straight without Micah.
So getting to when Micah could return,
which everybody thought was going to be week six against the Cowboys,
was what Packers fans wanted.
Then they performed like they did last week against the Bears.
I think Packers fans are happy.
But this could have been a much bigger story
that week six was the projection.
and then maybe even week five was the projection.
Then you came on two weeks ago or three weeks ago,
and you said week six, week seven, maybe.
That was the first time we had heard a delay into week seven.
If he's not practicing until next week,
AJ, you would know better than me as we have a heart out here
with rapping about a minute and a half or so.
You would know better to meet one week of practice.
He's going to need a couple weeks, right?
I assume so, yeah.
Yeah.
So we're probably pushing into like week eight probably,
which if the Packers continue to play the way they play,
that's okay with you guys?
Yeah, and his brother actually said, like,
I think mid-November was kind of always what, you know,
I assume he knows more than the average fan does.
Wow.
Yeah, but that week six, Dallas Cowboys' Sunday night football was like what we all expected
and we're hoping for it.
But in reality, maybe that was never going to happen.
No, and he can't get hurt.
He needs to be ready to go when he gets out there because their season goes right down
the pooper if he gets hurt.
Okay, speaking of season going right down to pooper potentially whenever somebody was out,
now quick comeback, hopefully.
Go ahead, Tom, man.
Yeah, Rob, Jay Brown out since week one on the I.R.
he's eligible to come off after this week.
Is that the case, or is he going to probably take the Jets weekend off and come back next week?
I just checked on this.
I was told no answer yet.
So I think what they're probably going to do is have him come in tomorrow and just see where he's at physically.
I was told it's about a six-week recovery, and we are at four.
So even if he practices, I know he wants to play.
He is pushing very hard to play.
I would be a little surprised right now if he was able to play.
It would be awesome.
but it seems a little fast for me.
I'd be surprised.
Six weeks.
So let's assume him in week seven, week eight.
Last question here.
And then they have the Thursday game.
So that's quick.
Skip that.
Okay, get a little bye.
Last question here.
We thank you for the extra minute and half.
Yeah, Rob, there's some questions around Pennix and his ribs.
There's some talk that he could have came back in that game, but got cold, got tight.
Is he going to play this upcoming week?
What was the situation there?
I think it's promising that he'll be able to put.
Yeah, I mean, that's what happened.
He sat down.
he got cold, he got sore, and I think
functionally it wasn't where it needed to be,
so they played Tua, and then functionally
it was really where they needed it not to be.
I think it's hard.
You feel good about that. I know you feel good.
Well, good.
Yeah. Let me go.
I think there's a pretty good chance he's out there.
It does not seem to be major.
If he's able to practice tomorrow,
I think you should be out there and play on Sunday.
Okay, so this is my first time hearing this.
If it's everybody else, I apologize.
He sat down and got tight, didn't feel like going back out there.
Was he told not to go back?
out there by the two gentlemen that were talking to him on the sideline, he made a decision
how'd that come about?
I do not know enough to know medically what happened, but these were his words after the game
where he, because it was such a long wait, he was like, he was not able to go based on it
kind of settling in.
That was my read.
Okay, we appreciate you.
Good luck on Big Day with Big Shregs breaking down all of the big plays.
Please, Jeff Rapsheet.
Yeah, that panic stuff scares me.
Good news for the Falcons fans.
If he's going to be playing.
Yeah, but also.
What the hell happened?
I'm not going to go down that road.
What happened, Mike?
I'm not going to go down that road.
You left us out to dry, Mike.
So I saw, you know, a quarterback essentially tap out of a big situation.
I'm not saying this is what happened with Pennix at all.
Okay, I'm not saying that.
I'm saying I have seen this, and we have seen this once before or twice before this situation,
not the Pennock situation, a situation where a quarterback,
decides not to play, even though they can.
And it's devastating to the morale of the rest of the locker room,
rest of building, city, fan base, everything like that.
If Pennixson real time was being told, though,
hey, probably safe to not go back out there
because we don't know exactly what that is,
I think that's, we should know that information.
I think we should find out that information
because I think that is a big piece
for the narrative that's going to get built about Pennix.
I just, this is not how I feel.
I think this is just as fans would feel as a whole,
because of what happened and what was happening
with that Atlanta Falcons team.
They're in a middle of rolling
since Pennix got back prime time, prime time.
Now they're going.
They get into overtime after a huge play.
And it's like to not go out there
and finish the job with your teammates,
I think we got to hear that he was told
that he was very dangerous.
Don't you think, D.
I don't want to speak too negatively
because we don't know what the injury is.
I am nowhere near as tough as Pennix is.
He's been through a lot of injuries.
He knows his body better than I do.
but from a football fan perspective, narrative perspective,
I think there should be some clarification
on everything that happened on this sideline
because there's two guys talking to him very intently,
and then those guys walk away,
and then the towel goes over his head.
Yeah, they're talking to him a lot.
Usually we'll see or I'll be looking for
if they took his helmet away.
Usually that's a tell-tale sign
that they're trying to protect you from yourself.
And he did come back in the game after the injury,
after the hitting, then obviously he left and never returned.
So, yeah, I'm interested to see, you know,
how it unfolds, but it's going to be a tough look,
but he's a tough guy.
Like you said, all this shit that he's been through.
I'm sure if he could have been out there, he would have been out there.
The comments that he made after the game kind of made it a little worse
because he said, hey, we've got the ball first.
I tighten up.
You know, that, you know.
So we'll see how it all plays out.
But we know how it is in the locker room.
You got to be hurt to not, like, really injured to not get back out there,
especially as a quarter.
Also, fans.
The Atlanta fans.
But do you think that maybe the fans will kind of give them a pass
because they've been so hammered, dog-pissed with all the other quarterbacks.
It's like, whatever, you can't get hurt.
We need you.
Hey, listen, if you fell hurt, you do you.
We can't have what happened out there.
You see what happened with Tua?
If you're hurt, don't play.
He won out.
Our dumb asses thought this was Alabama when he comes in in the second half of the national championship.
Everybody was, we were living in it.
That clip was shown to us 3,000 times of sports fans
because it is a legendary moment in the history of the second largest sport in the United States of America.
Wow, we have eyes on this thing.
All right, you're starting the second half.
We're going with two guys.
All right.
See you later.
Huge.
Matt's.
He's got half a bag of now known America's best in his face
while he's making that decision.
And then the story of two are going,
I kind of had a feeling I was going to go out there.
I don't know.
I was like 80% against the defense a week before.
Kirk Herb Street said, going into halftime,
he even said, are they going to go to the freshman
because it had been lingering?
It had been lingering.
And then he goes out there and just,
National champs, how you doing?
With that fresh on our mind, him going out in overtime,
even putting the helmet on,
they have a side view of him next to the boys.
It's like we're about to see the straight.
In the same stadium, too.
Dart!
Oh, meatball, some!
And the Dolphins fans were like,
you say in Alabama.
And we've been telling you that.
So hopefully Pennix is okay.
I hope so.
And I think he was probably told,
Hey, we don't know.
Also hope so.
Big Day of Big Shrags is next here on ESPN.
See it in.
All right, mine missed that one.
Nah, you know, he pumped it up pretty good.
And you did with Ian.
You think they were, they told Pennix it's possible, like, without a scan.
Like, you know how guys have had, like, lacerated spleen and things like that?
Like internal damage and something.
They were worried about something like that.
That's what I'm saying.
Yeah.
I think that there's at least a conversation happening that says, like, we don't know what's all in there.
Because if you do have a fractured rib and then he land on that,
that can do some real damage on the inside.
So I'm just hoping in my mind that that was presented just like maybe.
Hey, early in the season still, we don't exactly know.
Be extra careful.
Yeah, it's got to be something like that because I just give you the perspective
as players and maybe this is outdated or barbaric.
But if it's a pain management issue, you got to play through that.
I don't care how uncomfortable you or I don't care what injure it.
you got to play through just strictly pain.
If there's other shit, which we don't know we're not part of the medical staff,
that's a completely different story.
But as a teammate, that's something you're going to be looking at.
And once you got out there, it is early in the season,
you want them out there for the rest of the season.
But it's a tough-ass game.
The best quarterbacks that we all grew up fans of,
whether they were athletic quarterbacks or pocket quarterbacks,
you played through a lot of, a lot of shit.
And all these games are going to come down.
You know, every week 18 is going to come down to a game,
especially in that division.
So as a fan, as a teammate,
You know, obviously, number one, you want to be healthy,
but number two, you want your quarterback out there if he could be out there.
And just think about the story.
He comes to place, wins.
Next morning, fractured rib.
Yeah.
This guy played with a fractured rib through.
We've heard those stories before.
Those are like the stories we've heard before.
So.
Byron left which.
But now we have.
Matthew Stafford.
Matthew Stafford.
Chad Penn.
Barb.
Like all these guys.
Seven.
Yeah, it's kind of.
My quarterback.
I mean, my home's had that.
what, broken ankle, Rogers.
Aaron had a torn A.
Bill Rivers played a playoff game with a torn ACL, remember?
Yeah, back in the day.
Like, these are the story we know as fans of sport and of league.
Thomas Davis is arm in the Super Bowl.
Just got surgery six days before that.
T.O. It looked like a football.
Yeah.
So this is kind of the stories of football.
So I think fans know the game, appreciate the game, understand the game.
Also, I think to themselves, did that guy tap out in the middle
of overtime right there, and I don't think that's fair to
penance because we don't know if he did that.
In the lot of you said, a lot of talking on the sideline from the medicals.
Two people talking. Obviously, it's quarterback with how good they are.
I'm thinking he was told we don't know what's going on.
I mean, he was crying. It's not as if he didn't want to put. He was literally
towel over his head, like holding his eyes. He was so upset about it.
It's just if, you know.
But they should come out and say that. I think that should be a statement that.
You remember when Tua got hurt and tapped out of a game?
Yes, for Miami with, yeah.
And then the Miami Dolphins PR came out, and they were like,
turns out it was fucking nothing.
Yes.
And just moves along.
You remember that?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
It was like a primetime football game.
Yeah, that was it like early.
I remember Tua put his life on the line.
And I think he did end up having like a broken river.
Yeah, it was wrong.
Yeah, they ended up being wrong.
Yeah, that's what.
So I'm just telling you, I remember thinking to myself,
damn, this team just killed this man.
And then I think they were wrong inevitably.
And we might not have got the wording right of what they said,
but it was in the gist of that.
nature. It was like, yeah, our quarterback that got out of that game that we could have won
and we end up losing, turns out really nothing's wrong with him. And then like a couple weeks
later or a couple of days later it was like, hairline fracture actually pretty, broke three ribs.
Yeah. So we've seen it in the past. But those two guys in Pennicks were talking for a long time
right there. And there had to be some sort of conversation about what was happening in there.
At some point, I'm assuming one of the bold watts there said, honestly, we don't know until we
scan you. We have no idea
what has happened until we scan you, but
there is a chance of blah, blah, blah. I'm just
keeping that in my mind because of how good
Pennix looked and how that Falcons team has looked
with him at quarterback. I don't like what people are
saying about what Bijon did when Tua got in there, though.
What did he do? People were saying
as he was too got in there. Bejohn was looking at anybody on
sideline saying, well, I did see that?
I think he's good. I think he's good.
Yeah. Long cat. That's what they're saying,
but maybe he was saying, hey, can you redo the call
to his little confused? I
am wondering, you got Brian Robinson and
Bijon Robinson. Kevin Sfansky, who
offense guru, if there was a thought,
you know, just, hey, let's just
put the Robinson's back there. And whoever the center wants to snap it
to, we'll just put that one a quarterback. There was a chance, though, too, I thought
dayball was on the sideline, though, still calling place.
At the right on. What are you talking about that first throw?
What about that first throw?
It's unbelievable to see him like that.
You can't go. I can't believe.
I can't drive back. Let's pivot away from that.
Hopefully, Pennock is healthy.
And we appreciate him looking out for himself because that shit in there is pretty damaged.
Oh, yeah.
We were talking about this yesterday.
I don't think you guys act like you never seen it before.
No, I liked it.
I think Morgan can't do that.
First time.
It is something.
Throw the DBs off.
Yeah, you know, I'm going to.
I think this is what quarterback should start.
This might be the next evolution.
And then transfer it back to throw.
Yeah, you just, it's just a nice mobile.
Fluid mode.
That's smooth.
The amount of fakes you can throw through.
My brain's having an injury to right now watching it, so I'm thinking it would affect the DB.
It's like November.
in Pittsburgh.
Easy to do.
Easy to the weather.
Just take that thing completely out of your throwing hand.
Put that thing right back in there and then
boom. Because, I mean, anybody can do that.
Defenders wouldn't know what to do either because they're going for this.
Yeah, exactly. Ball's not there.
Pitch, pitch!
You're going to have to, especially, you have to
make sure you get the laces perfectly on that transition
right there. Yeah.
It's all you practice, I guess.
They need to work on some jugs, bang, boom, boom, boom, boom,
bang.
They're going for strip sacks and, oh, ball's not there.
Also, let's not even think
about the fake of the pitch that's happening.
Exactly.
Because you drew a little.
Get a D.N. come crashing down.
Bite for the...
Suck up the linebackers.
Oh, my God.
You're not exposing the ball at all right there either
when you pop it out.
You know what I'm exposed?
Any good fake has to be exposed.
Right. Risk reward.
Yeah, you have to live out.
No biscuit, no biscuit, you know?
I'm taking that thing.
I'm going, boom.
So the secondary sees this one.
It's gone.
They're all breaking right now.
And then the defense line sees the inside.
Probably stop covering.
It really is the true.
triple threat position.
Exactly.
A football.
Now I think about it.
Because basketball has that, right?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Triple threat.
You can triple.
We can shoot.
We could pass.
Mm-hmm.
I don't know why these super genius quarterback.
Triple threat.
I don't know.
I can see like Jalen Hertz doing it this weekend.
And then what happens?
Defense just falls all over.
Yeah, exactly.
80-yard touchdown.
All right.
This one goes in.
Boys, you're going to start doing it.
Here we go.
Yeah.
Count it.
Oh.
Siri only was an OC.
Yeah?
For Colts?
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's where he cut his teeth.
They can't figure out offense.
He called plays for Jalen.
Yeah.
And then he handed over the reins, and then they handed over the reins,
and then they handed over the reins, and then they handed over the rains.
It is interesting.
And then they handed over the reins.
That was six?
Was that six times?
I just did that?
I think you're right, yeah.
So that's how many times he's had a new coordinator.
Who talked to us about how big of a deal it is, quarterback?
Price Young.
Yes.
Price Young talked about how many, he's like just the nuance of not only calling the play,
but when, why, what we're going to do, how we're going to do, what he likes to do.
He's learning me, too, by the way.
I'm franchise quarterback.
He's having to, for Jalen Hurts, Super Bowl MVP quarterback, new offensive play caller.
He's learning what the fuck I like to do as well at the same time.
I don't think that's sustainable for Jalen.
And it's clearly not at this moment.
You've got to communicate it to the other guys, too, because quarterbacks are an extension.
of the coach on the field.
And we see it every week.
It's going to be a next man up situation.
So if you have new old linemen, new running backs of protection, new wide receivers,
you're still somewhat learning because the schemes, the offense, the defense is like,
we're changing and tweaking shit as weeks go.
But if you have a baseline of fundamental of what you like,
I'm sure, AJ, if you were to play call it for three or four years, like two minute comes,
you know, 137, one timeout.
You almost know what that de-coordinator is going to call the first play
and probably the first play coming out of a timeout in a huddle.
So like just having that comfort to where you're not thinking about the play.
You're more so thinking about, okay, what splits am I get, what motions I'm going to get, what can I communicate.
Like that just, that was for me as a nickelback or safety or corner.
So I can imagine what that is for a quarterback every year having to relearn that shit in OTAs.
And then going to at this point in season, you're trying to be on 300 level of shit, but you're still on the basics.
You're saying that people are saying Siriani needs to start calling plays?
They're saying that it's a crazy.
how people are always blaming the offensive coordinator for the Eagles.
Yeah, Siriani does get a lot of the blame,
but it's crazy how I think a lot of the people on the internet now are saying,
like, oh, we forgot this.
Siriani's an offensive guy.
Like, this should fall maybe more on him,
even though they do blame him for stuff,
but it's not just the offense.
He had the wide receivers all bought in whenever everybody thought the
water speakers on to fight everybody.
I see Big Dom's talking.
Always is.
Where at?
As long as there's a camera there.
Whoa.
A lot of people were shocked where he was talking.
I don't think.
I don't think he knew a camera was there.
Oh, sure.
I think he was just talking amongst friends about what's going on with the Eagles.
Sure.
Listen, you need a representative for the Eagles?
I'll be there.
Big Don will do that.
The rest of the guys are trying to figure out what the fuck's going on in the field.
Dom also does that.
But if you need to go talk for the Philadelphia Eagles, the birds down there,
he will certainly pop it and do his son.
I wish we had a live stream of this so I could see it.
Ty what do you think was talked about here by Big Dom?
As he said, we'll get this figured out with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Well, I believe it was at some sort of Democratic Party deal as well.
So I think first and foremost, he said, you know, he endorsed Bernie Sanders.
We were talking about that out there.
He said Bernie, 2026 and also we're going to get this figured out.
Don't worry by questions. Go.
You guys went just to Bernie?
Is Bernie from Philadelphia?
No, no.
He's not.
He's not.
He's from the Northeast somewhere, you know, Delaware, Vermont, you know.
Vermont, I believe.
Yeah, Vermont, there we go.
So, you know, I think governor of Pennsylvania is from Philadelphia, Josh Shapiro.
You're saying he...
Big Dom is no fan.
He's no fan.
I think he's speaking to probably his event.
He's a Bernie guy.
Which is, I think a lot of people are like, what's going on here?
I thought we had.
But, hey, Big Dom's a mover and shaker.
God, I just, this just reminded me.
I own, I owe Governor Josh Shapiro a suit thing.
You do?
because of what happened with the pens and the flyers.
I hope somebody tells him that I will like to do that.
Next time the pens beat the flyers, we'll do that.
I will do that.
There you go.
I like to have them on the show.
Philadelphia, obviously, whenever they launched the UFC coming back to Philly,
we got a chance to chat with them.
That city, hardworking city.
I believe it's a big union city as well.
Certainly.
And Big Doms potentially talking to Eagles fans saying,
hey, we're going to get this face.
No one runs the unions like Big Dumb and the boys.
No, the guy that runs the unions,
is the longshoremen.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, he'll shut the country down.
Do you remember that?
Oh, yeah.
Hey, it's not bad.
Now until when?
Car dealerships got no cars.
How do you get the cars in the land?
They come through my ducks.
Our ducks.
We'll shut them all down.
Cars are just to start.
You want to build that house?
Lumber?
Okay.
Not coming into fucking America.
My guys, not doing any of it.
We just want to have a conversation.
That's all we're looking for.
You guys are kind of overlooking us right now.
And then lo and behold,
it did become.
quite a nightmare there for a while.
And he had sweet glasses
on and he was not scared of a
damn thing. That was a wild time to be alive.
Hey, hospitals
they need medicine? Okay.
Okay. What bottles are they going to put them in?
Because those are coming through, our docks.
We just want to have a conversation.
Medicine, houses, cars,
I don't know, food. We got that too.
Whatever you guys need, we got coming through our
docks. Let's talk
about it. That was a great play by.
Yeah. I wonder what deal was
made there. And I do remember thinking
to myself, it's crazy how
everything could just, how everything is house
cards. Everything. It got figured
out pretty quickly too. They were like, oh, this
guy's not fucking around. Jesus.
Come in to my office. They came
in. He had sick
pinky ring. Put that thing right on
display. He shook their hand. Turned that
fucking thing. Just like this. They went
to pat him on top. He said, I don't think so.
He put his hand on top of that. They get a
deal done. Good for him. I think
the Longshore Union is getting paid pretty good
brought for a long time. And by the way, I think we need it. Yeah. No question from my understanding.
Cars, houses, uh, food. Medicine. Medicine. Everything. Electronics. I thought we made that here.
Nope. There's also stuff from there. We got it. That was a great power play by him.
Kind of fucked us a little bit. But he was saying we're getting kind of screwed in the entire process.
Happy they made immense. Got it done. Yeah, absolutely. Join us now. Man, it gets deal done with a lot of folks.
I mean, he's got deals with everybody.
Tonight, the final episode of season 10 of his contender series is at 7 p.m. on Paramount.
In December, he's promoting a boxing match between Anthony, Joshua, and Tyson Fury.
October 24th, he's got a UFC fight card that has Volcanovsky at the main event.
And oh yeah, he's probably trying to create something on the moon at this exact.
moment. Ladies and gentlemen, UFC's president, Zufa, president, uh, Mr. White investment funds,
president, ladies, you have with Dana White. Yeah. Hey, Dana. What's up, guys? How are you? Good morning.
Did I miss any? I feel like I miss. Oh, super slap fest. Fuck. I missed the slap fest. Uh,
I think there's some other stuff. Oh, we're playing Baccarat for, uh, a million dollars a
hand. Did I miss anything else, Dana?
A couple things, but not important.
Also moving ranchos.
Hey, life. Oh, yeah, meta board member.
Thank you for the virtual reality glasses.
Geez, I appreciate you.
Life is good over here. I hope the same for you.
Congrats on having everything happened.
Season 10 here of Dana White's contender series tonight on Paramount Plus final episode.
Is this still as special to you as it was with that first season?
Because I know it was groundbreaking.
Whenever you started this, it was a huge deal for the UFC to have like an amateur,
almost a fill-in a pipeline for the UFC.
Now you're 10 seasons in.
How do you feel about it at this point?
And what do you expect from the future from it?
10 seasons in, this might be our best season ever.
A lot of people are saying it.
It was incredible.
You know, and obviously, like you just said,
it's been an amazing pipeline for talent for us.
And incredibly entertaining on Tuesdays for 10 weeks a year.
It's awesome.
I love it.
Yeah.
Any fight that you can get your hands on and into,
it feels like you like.
Can you tell me a little bit about Anthony, Joshua, and Tyson Fury?
This is on Netflix.
It's not a Zufa boxing, but you are the promoter for the fight.
Can you tell me how this comes together and how excited you are for these Goliaths to battle in December?
Yeah, we're promoting and producing the fight.
It's at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
And I'm excited that I get to be there.
It's basically already sold out.
I mean, I haven't looked today yet, but when we launched tickets on sale, there was less than,
700 left, which is basically considered a sellout.
So it just goes to show that people are interested and care about this fight and
going to be live and free on Netflix.
Okay, tell me about Tyson Fury coming out at the White House.
Was this supposed to be announced then?
Yeah.
Yeah?
And what happened?
There was just so much shit behind the scenes.
A lot of fuckery has gone on since then.
Here we are.
We finally got here.
We have tickets on sale.
The tickets did well.
And, yeah, so it's been interesting.
But I knew these type of things were going to happen
when I got involved in a sport of boxing.
Okay, so let's talk about the broader picture of that.
You were supposed to have the Tyson Fury announcement
at the 250th celebration at the White House
right before 4th of July.
Tyson Fury gets a walk out of the White House in America,
which I think was a big part of the entire thing.
Does the entire walk, has a conversation.
Hey, what are you doing?
Big announcements coming from fucking,
Big Dana here. Let me get the fuck off this microphone here. So there's always been that type of
shit in boxing, which is one of the reasons why you guys were excited to get into boxing.
Now that Zufa has started, you guys have gotten into it a little bit. You're now hosting another
mega fight for Netflix for boxing for the ring. How has it been getting into boxing after
all the success you've had in mixed martial arts getting back into the boxing world for you?
How has it been? You've expected the fuckery. Is it more fuckery than you expected? What do you kind of,
how do you kind of design it?
No, it's as much as I expected, but it's been fun, actually. I've had a good time. It's been less than a year, and it's been fun for me. I'm excited. Listen, if you guys have never seen a fight in the UK, I mean, sporting events, period, in the UK are just different. And, you know, this is the biggest heavyweight fight ever in England. So I expect this to be really special live. And if you've never been, you have the opportunity and the finances to fly over to Cardiff, Wales.
You should definitely do it.
You know, this is one of those things where, you know, generational guys are finally fighting,
and, you know, it's going to be split.
You're going to have the AJ fans, the Fury fans, and I guarantee you, the arena is going to be electric that night,
and it's a lot of fun.
If you have the time, the money, and whatever to get there, you should do it.
You got it.
Definitely come check out this fight.
You guys should set up out there and do this fight.
Yeah, December 11th.
So, pretty big.
football stuff. What time is it at?
It is, it's gonna air on here in America in prime time, so it'll be late there.
Okay, so it's gonna be real late there. That's one of those like nine to midnight type
fights over there. Is that how you expected to see? Yeah, do you know the exact time,
Leney that it goes off?
Lenei legend. We don't know, we'll get you all the information but I'm telling you, it's, it's, it is
badass to see these kind. And this thing's going to be in a stadium. It'll be sold out. I mean,
there's 80,000 seats in this place. So it'd be awesome to have you there. Yeah, definitely.
If I can get to a boxing legend, 80,000 people. Okay, that's a completely different game
changer. Shout to you getting that done. AJ has a question for you, Dana. Yeah, Dana, going off
the boxing, how, like, is the headache worth it? I know you said you're having fun with it,
but you already have so much going on. We know that. I guess,
What has it been like throughout this whole process and like it seems like a lot more on your plate even though you seem to love to work?
Yeah, there's definitely, I've traveled more probably this year than I have my entire career.
But I'm enjoying it.
It's not like I'm like I'm burnt out or, you know, I don't want to do it.
I'm not having fun.
So, yeah, I mean, I'm going back and forth to other promoters, Dana.
It's fun watching you kind of go back and forth to some other promoters that like to talk.
well, you know, I'm right.
So it's not like this thing where, you know, coming out or lying about anything.
It's just that's been a whole different weird situation, but it is what it is.
But it's all good.
It's all good.
Listen, whatever's happened between me and Eddie Hearn and, you know, Frank Warren is also involved in this fight.
The fight sold out.
And listen, Eddie pushed hard for this thing to be in the,
UK and you know I was trying to do it at MSG it's in the UK and sold out an 80,000 seat
stadium and like I said I truly believe that in Madison Square Garden it's a five-hour flight
from the UK that would have sold out immediately too and the energy would have been the same
because I don't know if you've ever seen when you know the Irish come over for Connor McGregor
fights it's absolutely insane Ricky Hatton fights in Vegas were insane
the UK is a fun, fun place for sports.
It's a combative business that you're in all across the board.
I think the worry publicly, Eddie's backers and the boxing backers,
is that they have the best for boxing in their eyes and the way to go about doing it.
You, TKO, Nick Kahn coming in with Zufa, I think you guys feel like you're trying to do the best for boxing as well.
Is there a disconnect in the messaging and what is the goal in the initiative,
or is this just strictly competitive business going against each other?
Yeah, it's competition.
You know, we're coming in like bowls in a China shop
and these guys are trying to, you know, protect their turf.
And, you know, it's no different than any other business.
And, you know, it's competition.
We're all competing.
It's all good stuff.
All right.
Well, good luck out there.
We appreciate you taking the time.
Good luck conquering everything that you're setting out to conquer.
And we appreciate the hell out of you, brother.
Thanks.
And for those of you, this is the last night of the content.
series. It's the greatest show on television.
And if you missed the season, this is the last
one. Tune in tonight on Paramount
Plus. Season 10. Final
episode. Best season yet?
Says Dana. Yep.
Says the fans. That's what the fans are saying, too.
So incredible season.
Love that. All right. Have a good one, brother. Ladies and gentlemen,
it's Dana-Ly.
Just competition?
Yeah. Yeah. It's all good.
Sold out. 80. I don't think we knew
that. And he was like, there's 700 tickets
left. I was like, okay, we can move.
doesn't hold that much we know that new no that's like fine clothing yeah yeah what is mshd 20 30 30
30 30 30 and 20 max no not 30 yeah i don't know i think for boxing when you can put them on the
floor yeah maybe 20 you think i don't know msg's big i remember the number being bigger we were there for
um past finals triple g and it definitely was not 20 000 for boxing and damage yeah oh geez we're way off
what number was I think?
I was thinking of the Deer Park Fairmont.
What's this?
Oh, yeah, that's 20.
Ruoff.
A ruoff.
Amphitheater out here.
Because I always assume you go theater, amphitheater, arena, stadium.
Like kind of in that order.
Or club theater, amphitheater, arena stadium.
I thought that's kind of the development.
These amphitheaters are like, some of them, 27, 30.000.
24.
Yeah, they're huge.
With all the lawn.
The lawn seating, yeah.
Yeah, because I was, when I'm asking the musicians, when they're about to take their next step, I'm like, are you going to arenas?
They're like, no, going to do amphitheater or whatever.
And it's like, oh, I was like pumped for them, but I thought that was, it's like, no, no.
This is, this is way better, actually.
This is the business.
And then the guys and girls, I mean, Taylor Swift could sell at a stadium literally in any continent on earth.
The stadiums are just.
such a ridiculous feat.
To have that many people interested to go,
80,000 boxing fans, that's gonna be rowdy.
Stadiums are crazy.
These festivals too, like I'm starting to see more
like my Instagram feed, like these house music festivals
with just a sea of people, like those, those just insane.
That DMX video still.
Yup, that was that.
Bang, dang, ding, ding, ding, ding.
Did you go to one of those festivals, Dbut?
Would I?
Yeah, absolutely.
I like house music, so I don't know how I would react being there,
but they look cool when I.
I go see, Rufus.
Thrive.
Rufus, I like to good,
um,
I wish we could have been around for a Vech.
I, from my understanding that would have been outraged.
I was at Coachella, I think one night.
Oh.
I think I went to, I don't know if it was Coachella or stage coach.
Hmm.
Was it great?
Uh, I don't think I bought the, the right package.
I mean, I was out there in the middle of it.
Well, that's a good question,
because it did feel like a lot of people were on a lot of things.
And a lot of the things that a lot of people are on
stuff that I'm not.
really into a lot of the festivals that kind of do whatever you got to do.
But I was kind of in there and I remember thinking to myself, I got to get out of here.
And I did.
I drove all the way back in an Uber to where I was staying in Los Angeles.
It was like three-hour drive.
It was probably fun calling the Uber out there.
Oh, yeah.
Then you're in line for it.
But it was a good spirit.
It felt like a good spirit.
Everybody was having good time.
Everybody had the same.
There was an all-good festival, which was a hippie festival.
through Morgan Town. I think
I popped through there one time. That's really it.
But there's, what's the one in Ohio?
There's one in Ohio. There's
a rock, like a rock fest festival there.
Rock in the range. Yeah, well, there's a bunch
of these names that we're not saying right now.
They got Lalapalooza. Yeah, Bonneroo.
Yeah, Bonneroo, there it is.
Wallapalooza. There's one in Ohio. There's a big
country one in Ohio. I forget
what it is. I almost went to that one time when I was
at West Virginia, and then I saw the group
that was going, and I thought to myself,
I don't want to commit to
Yeah. Ultra in Miami.
Oh, yeah.
Ultra's a big one.
Tomorrowland is kind of the biggest one.
There's another one.
Summerfest.
Yeah, Fire.
Fire.
Yeah.
They're sleeping out there, right?
Oh, yeah.
That's part of the package.
A.C.
Part of the packages are with that.
And then what Fire Fest?
That was that one?
Yeah, that was a good one.
Billy McFarland.
Yeah, he was killing it.
He was going to launch a new one.
Remember it was fired too.
Yeah, Mitt bought tickets.
He did.
He had something.
Yeah, Mitt brought all the water or something.
Yeah, he did.
He had like 200 people down on an island somewhere.
and had like jaw rule.
Didn't Mitt buy a ticket for that?
Did Mick go to that?
He said he was going to.
Yeah, no, I think he just got the NFT version.
He was responsible for the water.
Billy's always cooking in me.
She was on Kill Tony, wasn't he?
Billy?
Mitt?
I thought he, yeah, both.
I thought.
Geez.
I thought Billy was just on.
I love that you guys thought that all at the same time.
My brain wouldn't even put that together.
Good for you guys.
Mitt was on Kill Tony?
I think so.
No, Billy.
Walked out and did a minute.
Thought he did. I thought I saw a video of that.
Are those professionals?
The guys that go out? Yeah. Yeah, I think so.
I think they're all like... I always see the clips and I never know.
Smaller comics, right? Or smaller comics.
Some of them become big comics. We're through there.
Who's the curly hair guy? Uncle.
Italian guy?
No. Curly hair blonde guy.
Drewski? Oh.
One guy's on SNL now.
Yeah, the black dude. Cam? Shane Gillis.
Yeah. Shane Gillis was on there.
Cam's hilarious
He's also on there
Uncle Fester
Yeah the white guy with the curly
I know exactly who you're talking about
You know who I'm talking about?
Yes I do
He was at a bunch of WWW
I've seen him a couple of WWs
Live in the gimmick
Yeah
I mean two beers behind me
That's unbelievable
That's who you are all the time
He was the entire time
Took a picture with him
Not him no
There's a big long curly hair guy
Blonde Bill said Uncle Laser
Laser
There he is
There he is
Yeah
Kiltony's launched a lot of people
that comedian world is very kind to each other it feels like
and then probably pretty vicious if I had to guess as well
especially if you're talking about how women are dressed in gyms
yes yeah that's the guy I've seen him out yeah oh yeah good cut
great cut yeah hair always looks clean to the yeah big mallet
I think this is maybe even a tightened version of what he had cooking
because he had a big fucking waterfall when I saw and that thing was really out there
It was really doing it.
And I've seen some of his clips from Killed Tony.
I go, oh, this is kind of how it all goes.
And then Tony says, it's all so silly.
You know, every time you ask him about it.
AJ, anything we missed today you think that we have to talk about?
I was going to ask a rap sheet what the possible role for OBJ could be moving forward.
What are you guys?
With Minnesota.
He was allegedly potentially going to play last weekend, did not dress.
I took OBJ Tud just because, you know, if it was going to take it.
And Gumpy was certainly supportive of the entire concept
because why would Kevin O'Connell even mention his name
if he's not going to make him feel comfortable?
He didn't play.
Is he going to going forward?
Feels like he's comfortable in the building.
He's in shape.
Kevin O'Connell's offense, if you can run routes, can find you, right?
Yep, learn assistance.
I mean, Raps had John Jennings.
So is that mean?
When's Tyreek signing too?
Drew Rosenhouse will let us know about that probably, right?
Yeah, before that happens.
That's an interesting news break.
We do have news breaking.
Long sniper news.
The Jaguars are not going to continue with Devon Hamilton.
What?
Oh.
They're signing Jacob Bobinmore.
So he had to fly over here.
Damn me, I was hoping OV made a return.
Matt Overton, available.
I don't know if he's still bringing it.
Stay ready.
I don't know if he, I think he's pivoted completely into the coaching ranks, I think at this point.
He would have been able to get the job done, though.
He's going 12, laces 12 every time if he has to.
Brought right there in a hip pocket.
At this stage, I don't know.
how much coverings happening, but if you can snap the ball good on punts, don't have to cover.
So I like that Devon Hamilton kind of put a spotlight on these guys, because you saw Logan
Cook going crazy there on the bullets. That could be every time. Instead, it is expected to be right
here, and those laces better be out that way, pal, okay? And if they're not, God. And on the punt,
that thing better be hitting me right in the hip. That thing better be hit me right here.
If it's not, you're gone. And if you're off a little bit, you're not right on.
the hip, I need you to go make a tackle
on every single punt. If you can't tackle,
you need a perfect snap.
If you can tackle,
we'll give you a little bit bigger strikes on.
But you miss that strikes on a couple of times?
Gone.
So any of these snappers, you see snap at the same place
for 15 years, 14 years,
that's literally snap to snap.
That can all change very quickly.
You do two bad snaps.
If somebody snap like Devon Hamilton snapped in this game
and he was the actual starting snapper,
guys cut.
See you later.
never going to be seen in the NFL again.
It's a high pressure job, high stakes job.
That's why Devon Hamilton being able to execute,
especially for a game winner.
With his D-Line gloves and tape on, too.
That's even more impressive.
Look at that.
So impressive. It's insane. It is absolutely insane what he's
able to do. He's 340 pounds.
What's that so?
Fat, he's got a gut.
He's got a huge gut.
The gut is directly in the way of your
arms in the ball and then your eyes
in the person and the bend over.
You've got to follow through to keep that down.
His guts literally physically stopping him from being able to do that.
And then the tape on the wrist, you're throwing a ball.
So I don't know how he was able to have such perfect spirals every single time.
If you snap those perfect spirals like that, if you're an actual long snapper,
strikes and opens up a little bit.
Hey, you got a perfect spiral on that thing.
We can catch it easier.
That's a good thing.
So the high ones would be the only problem, but I'm so impressed by Devon Hamilton.
I hope he never has to snap again.
I hope his last snap was that 57-yard or game winner.
a perfect snap that he gave.
Great way to walk it off.
It is.
But I mean, just the physical part is extremely impressive,
but the mental part.
He's going from a position like D-Tackle,
like, all right, you fuck up,
but rarely are you like the guy that's going to be spotlight
like a corner or a wide receiver,
a quarterback, or a left tackle.
So going to the position where you're only spotlighted
if you fuck up and everybody's going to be looking at you
every snap and then the snap that, you know,
obviously game winner, that's extremely impressive.
And, you know, I'm saying respectfully,
he's a fat so looking at him now he probably has a six-pack right under that big gut right there
but that's unbelievable performance by him the gloves the body type just i don't know if i've
ever seen a guy that big going and executed that position i appreciate the eagle's also showing him
respect he showed that last nap he stood straight up so whenever you get your head up you're
allowed to get blasted so it's just like you have to have time to get your head all the way up
he snapped the field goal the last field goal on this video and then he stands straight up like
literally just stands all the way up because he's probably lost feelings in his hands.
He just stands up.
What's up?
I look back too late.
He could have not do it.
How to go?
The Eagles could have punished him for that, I think.
Within the rules, you're not really allowed to hit the long snapper.
You're not allowed to line up over the shoulders.
You have to give them clear amount of time to get their head back up because guys were just getting their heads jammed into their guts.
Even if they were attempting to block it or not, you're just kind of taking a shot at the long snapper.
so that's changed completely.
I didn't even see him.
They could.
They could, absolutely.
Hey, well, how's it go?
Pretty good.
All right, let me look ahead.
All right.
Good work.
Good work back here, Logan.
All right, let's get the hell out of here, boys.
Not a bad day.
No, not at all.
Talk fighting.
Yeah.
What's going on baseball?
What's going on baseball?
What happened last night?
Brewer's up.
Do nothing.
William Contreras had a huge night,
hit a Homer, had three RBIs,
and kind of just more of the same.
The Brewers just, they put the ball in play.
They get guys on base.
They steal a bunch of bases and then knock them in with singles.
Everyone in their lineup pretty much produces.
And their bullpen has been absolutely dominant through two games.
They chase Yamamoto after two and two-thirds innings.
So they ended up winning seven-four.
And it's been one of those things where the really good teams, like anytime the Dodgers would score,
they answered immediately.
So like they went down a couple times.
And they just fight.
They just fight.
They get guys on base.
They move them over.
So they're up to 2.0 and they're going back to L.A.
now.
And in the other series, last night was game one in the AL.
And the rays jumped out early to a 2-0 lead.
And then the Guardians, they matched the total number of hits that the Yankees had
in the entire last series last night.
So while the Yankees kind of just rolled over and died against the Rays,
the Guardians are very scrappy, very, very scrappy.
So this one should be a really good series.
These teams are very evenly matched.
Kind of the same deal.
Put the ball in play.
They got two homers last night, but that's not what they're known for.
They're going to kind of try to nickel and dime you play small ball.
So both of these series, off to a good start, but I think a lot of people are surprised
that the Dodgers are down 02.
Okay, so Dodgers is about to be out.
Yankees already out.
The teams that play small ball and have lower salary cap have continued to flourish this particular year
as we stare down inevitable lockout because there's two.
much money on some teams and they're going to dominate the game.
Now, off that contradiction of conversation that's happening in front of us and realize
quarterbacks get greedy and they don't want to take the easy one.
Cover two, started becoming just every call and quarterbacks just couldn't be patient and do
the checkdown.
Is that what we're talking about for teams that will hit, just to give people on base?
Is it like a mentality thing?
Yes, a thousand percent.
If there's some guys that just won't, hey, I'm not just going to get the bat on the ball.
So, like, yeah, the Brewers, anytime they have guys.
runners in scoring position.
And as opposed to like teams like the Yankees or some of these other teams who have
massive payrolls and are paying guys a bunch of money.
And like their, their intention is, hey, three run homer is better than a single right here
where we get, you know, one run in.
And then inevitably, you know, instead of hitting a three run homer, you strike out three
times in a row and you don't get any runs.
Whereas you watch a lot of these Brewers highlights, like these guys are just bloop singles
into center field, just putting the ball in play because they know,
We got a lot of speed on the base paths.
And then eventually we will run into one.
We'll hit a homer.
But if we have guys on base, we can't leave ducks on the pond, especially not against the Dodgers.
So, yeah, they get runners in scoring position.
And they don't give a shit if it's going to be singles driving guys in.
Like, they don't need to hit five homers to win games.
Todd, what's going on with Shoah?
He's all last week.
He dropped him to five.
And now they're talking about rumblings of him being bench.
He's definitely hurt.
And he's just trying to gut it out because it's the playoffs.
They need him to play.
but then it gets into a position where it ends up kind of being a detriment
because you can just tell he's just not right in the box,
waving at a lot of pitches, swinging it stuff outside of the zone.
So I think it's still shoulder, knee.
Like he's definitely not healthy and he's trying to just gut it out.
But yeah, there's a chance that they bench him for game three.
How are the Red Sox doing?
What?
Who cares?
It's freaking week five, man.
This stuff's awesome.
Boy, MLB is going to be real piss when it's
Brewers versus Guardians and no one gives
a fuck about the world series. That is kind of
the thing that's unfortunate is like
it's great baseball but if the Dodgers
don't make it and it's
if it's Tampa and Milwaukee
or Cleveland and Milwaukee
it'll be one of the lowest rated world series
ever. I'll watch
I watch because Miz, I like the
Ms. I love the Ms.
and I saw Travis Kelsey. He caught a
five ball. Then he got it out for a Cleveland
Guardians. Well it's not banana ball so that
doesn't count. It's just a souvenir for a fan.
because it's not Mickey Mouse, you know.
Although I do kind of like that they do that, but, you know,
not in the majors.
We're not fucking, you know.
Oh, so you're kind of coming around a video.
In that, in that goofball league, yeah, that's cool.
But in the big leagues, no, if you fucking hit one into the stands and someone catches it,
it's not an out for the team.
Just real quick, can you do this with me?
I say all you say are.
No, I'm not.
No.
I say revolution.
Do you see them?
Savannah bananas, playoffs.
O-A-R performing in the crowd.
You know who else was there?
Who? Joe Bros.
Yes, it was a Super Bowl.
No, I know. Yeah.
Savannah, Jesse, Co-Dan fucking O-A-R and the crash.
Broadway.
Did you see the quote tweet going around about that?
Which one?
They said they were going to show that to prisoners on death row instead of euthanize them.
So.
Oh, is that even worth it?
That's disgusting.
John Cena showed up in an old school Hummer.
One like your dad had toned at one mile and a gallon.
H-2.
Rolling out back to know H-H-1-H-O.
Original Hummer.
John.
I did not see this.
I think that was a game issue Hummer from when he was in Fallujah with the Marines, too.
So that, you know, pretty cool.
Right there he just said, raw, raw, raw.
And they were like, we're in the Army, actually, sir.
He goes, all right, all right.
Runs the ball out there.
Hands it off.
I thought he was going to pitch.
I thought he was going to blow his knee out right there.
He didn't know the mound was a little elevated.
No, he knows.
Yeah, he knows.
Hey, good luck out there.
See you guys.
Can't see me because I'm out of here.
So they had John Sina showing up in a fucking Hummer.
They had the Joe Bros. performing old school bangers, haven't performed a long time, had OAR in the damn crowd.
And then they had the guy wearing a cowboy hat throwing fucking 102 on the paint.
I mean, how could you not love what the Savannah Banana was this?
This was during their super duper playoffs.
This past week.
Who won?
No bananas.
Yeah.
Yeah, they beat the shit out of the television.
Hey, here's the, uh,
here's Joe Bros.
Listen, the Joe Bros.
Started the NFL season in Australia,
and they damn near fucking brought those cricket grounds down to the ground.
These guys still got the juice.
Oh, they play the firefighters?
Yep.
I thought you said they were playing the tailgate.
Well, the tailgayers lost in the championship round.
You're not even a fan.
You're watching.
I watch it.
Their playoffs are during football and college football seat.
You know, they're like WW.
You know, when one season ends, another one begins.
Different demo.
You know?
Definitely.
They sold out that at a stadium.
Which one?
That one, the big one.
Do they have an off season for real?
Oh.
Or all the teams?
Oh.
I didn't know what I was a fucking wheely surfboard.
Is this the beach bumps?
Is that the loco?
Coconut.
Oh, excuse me, the loco beach.
Oh, sick.
Hey, hey, boy.
We go together.
I think this was, yeah, maybe.
I could not pull one, Joe,
song out of my brain right there in India Thursday be that Joe Bros are you're at
you're gone somebody got to pull the might see what is there big one I've been to the
year 3,000 that's not their big one I don't know that's the first way
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
And you know Joe is fucking
playing the stuff.
I know he is.
Actually.
I fucking seen him.
I know they do that.
Who moved to Australia?
Which one?
One of them did?
That was a home game for one of them?
For a little bit.
I thought they lived together still.
Pride, Kev.
Cav yeah.
Is that the middle one?
I don't know.
Kev's the older one.
He's the older one.
Nick is the drummer, right?
The youngest.
Hey, cake in the ocean,
absolute heater.
That's from Joe.
They have a good.
I'm not a fan of them as, as individual.
The artist.
No, no, no.
You're only a team, man?
I'm a Joe Bros guy.
Just a Joe Bros.
Joe temporarily moved to Australia in 2018 for a bit.
There it is.
Okay.
That's a connection, I believe.
Oh, he was a celebrity coach on the voice Australia.
That's why.
Yeah, boom.
There's another one.
That's from Jonas brothers.
I'm a sucker for you.
Keep going.
And on the car.
And then you are.
Oh.
Pressuring all the pain.
My brain.
Yeah, that's a good song.
I remember what they did.
Thank you to your service to society, Joe, bro.
Thank you, Joe, brother.
I knew they're coming to indie.
Yeah.
Might have pop-bye.
Yeah.
Where at?
They're playing fucking the bankers, yeah.
You know, Seek, brother.
Lucas Oil.
It's Cambridge.
Yeah, I was wondering about Lucas Oil.
Are they doing Lucas Oil?
Gotta be.
It's Cambridge.
Oh.
I don't know if I can get there.
If it was Lucas Oil, I think I want to go.
I thought they still had...
How far is Gainbridge?
Lucas Oil.
20,000 people.
Just a very different.
20 minutes.
I understand 20,000 people.
Joe Bros.
could have done.
Joe Bros.
10 years ago would have been playing fucking Lucas Oil.
You know who just did Lucas Oil here.
Who?
I was there.
Yeah, Ed Sheeran.
Now, that made a mover and shit.
Who opened?
No one.
And it was fucking sick.
You're saying he just came out and said,
there's a time before with somebody else.
There was like stuff.
They did like a local thing where like some local guitarist.
No one saw the opener.
I mean, maybe some people did.
But we got in there at like 8 o'clock.
sat down, got a couple pops, and he came on the stage within five minutes.
It was unbelievable.
Is he doing a round stage or a big end stage?
Both.
So he had the big one, and then they had like a fire truck ladder that went out to the one
in like the middle.
Yeah, Ed Shearing is.
Is he doing some looping out there?
The whole thing was looping.
Yeah, he can.
He can spin it.
Actually, that fucking guy can spit it.
Yes, he can.
Yeah.
You should have seen.
I was at a wedding he was at.
Yeah.
He looked so cool.
He had this blue tucks.
Just like a spotlight walking through the entire place.
Hey, you know, it was like, good to see you, dude.
Holy fuck.
Ed Shearin just walked by.
Yeah, bangers.
He didn't perform her.
I was kind of bummed out.
He was called upon, wasn't he?
I don't know.
I don't know.
You told that?
I don't think so.
Yeah.
Yeah, who told you?
That's crazy.
I think that new heights, maybe?
No.
Yeah, it was definitely new heights.
I think that would have.
Jason might have been talking about it.
No, no, no.
Let's get out of here.
Okay, we covered everything.
Yep.
WMDA, they still playing down at Atlanta?
Season's over.
Season's over.
Congratulations.
They moved it to a bigger place, right?
Did they?
I know they'll work.
I heard they made it.
I heard they figured it out.
You got to work on it.
Got to figure it out.
I agree.
Can't be playing at Mercedes.
500 people.
I mean, Georgia Tech, they got an arena, right?
Figure that out.
Yeah, Georgia Tech should have an arena.
I think Atlanta has a lot of different venues down there.
There's a lot of different venues down there.
You think you could put some bleachers in or seats in to make it bigger.
I guess they're currently locked in to play at the place they play all their regular season games at, which is $3,500 C venue.
Oh, they play a state farm.
And they're playing the whole schedule next year to stay for them.
Next year, I believe.
But I do believe they have been at this place that they're playing at now, right?
Pre-angel, Reese, brother.
Oh, so Angel got traded there this year, right?
Yeah, it's our first year in Atlanta.
And they are in the finals now?
Yes.
Yeah.
She averaged 20 last round.
DPR.
right? DPOI as well. Angel!
Yeah. Congratulations. I like that. She's playing against the
Golden State Valkyries. Brand new team. Yep, only been, so they're being bought with now their
arena, their atmosphere and a lot of four-niners players, some other, I think, Steph Curry was
in there, like that, that Robert's environment. Yeah, I remember opening night. Remember there was
the pass that looked like a shot into the layup to win, steal the dub at home. I think it was
their home opener.
arena want bananas.
It looked like a fever arena
the way that opening night looked
and I think they carried that through the whole season.
They led the league, I believe in the tennis
like 18,000 a game.
Unbelievable. That's a good start to a new
franchise. They want a couple more too, right?
Cleveland and Detroit, was that the...
Cleveland's coming already. Yeah. Cleveland and Detroit
and this is all because
of Engelbert's work and everybody
is trying to run her out.
No, she retired. Yeah, she got ran out.
She threw in the white flag. No.
This was a...
You're still handing out the trophy at the end of the season.
She is?
As she should.
That should be her final.
She got the biggest CBA deal in the history of women's sports.
She got that...
I think she should say, job well done.
Now, managing after getting that deal done,
somebody else, that's going to be somebody else's job coming in.
Somebody's going to do that.
But I think Engelbert should get a lot of praise
for the amount of billions of dollars
she was able to negotiate into the WMBA, I think.
Now, on that note, everybody in that league seemingly did not like her.
Yeah, that's true.
But she should enjoy the fruits for labor.
Hand out that trophy.
Exactly.
To a rousing ovation.
Yeah.
Unless it's at this 3,500-seat arena.
I don't know how you let that happen in the finals.
I don't like it.
They've changed it.
Have they?
Yeah, they're playing a state farm.
It's been ready.
Let's go.
Oh, folks up out of here.
There was a couple concerts.
There was a couple concerts.
Mike Vorkanov is reporting that the Atlanta Dream will play games three and four at the WMBA Finals at State Farm Arena.
Game three has been moved up a day to October 21st.
I like this, adjusting, audibly.
Game three will stay on October 24th, but moved up to 1 p.m. from 3.30 kind of event at night.
Concert, we can probably get this thing in, maybe a game, we can get this in at night.
The Atlanta Hawks will move back to their home open by half hour to 830 on October 20th.
There we go. Perfect.
Read through the rest of the tweet, Pat.
It's right there.
Sorry.
Just had to head.
So they're making it work.
I like that.
Love that.
We kind of knew Coonan was going to do that, right?
Yeah.
Didn't we kind of expect that to happen down there in Atlanta?
We'd love to have Angel in here.
A finals?
We dream to have finals in here.
Can we move it a day?
Can we move it a day?
We can move it today.
What's commissioner's name?
Engelstone.
Kathy Engelstone.
You know that song.
I'm kind of, I'm kind of mind-fucked this.
That's Kathy Engelbe.
She's a friend of the program.
Yeah?
Yes.
Okay.
Whenever we did...
Who's taken over?
I don't know.
That has not been announced.
I do know that Soccer Dave has a...
Soccer, Don Garber.
Soccer's Don Garber, yeah.
What?
Soccer Don Garber is cooked.
I like soccer Dave more.
That's who's taken over.
I hope he does.
Soccer Dave Garber.
Soccer Dave on Instagram, I follow him.
This guy's an incredible soccer player.
Great app.
I actually owe him a game-worn jersey
from Concafa from three.
years ago. Soccer Dave? Yeah. Oh, Soccer Dave. I do. Soccer Dave, I think when you and I were
talking about that agreement, we both thought and had an understanding that I was going to have a lot
more jerseys than I actually had. I only had one of those things each year. And you framed it
put in your house. That's right. But soccer Dave should be running the MLS. I would trust him. I would
definitely trust him. Is it Rudy taking over? What about Lou?
Messy? Yeah. Why do you just run the league? He's running in her,
Miami once he retires.
Bigger fish.
So is Beckham running the MLS then?
No, it's the guy who used to own
L.AFC, I believe, is taken over for
the soccer, Don Garber.
I don't even know the L.A.
Cavan Solving.
L.A.F.C. Strong.
Grab an eighth grader
from any middle school in America.
Middle school in America, not even a
European middle school. It's like grab an eighth grader
because no one gives a fuck about the MLS.
Let this kid do whatever the hell he wants. Maybe it'll end up
being better. Lou Messy's moving
tickets across the country.
he's signing up to run the MLS?
No, but I'm saying you're talking about the MLS
in a way as if they don't. He loves the game.
They're moving tickets. He doesn't love the MLS game.
He loves what he does on an MLS
pitch. Which is
Does he still do it? Dominate these kids
like they are eighth grade.
Don't he have a percentage?
In the team.
Actually, he might have a percentage of the league too.
He's going to liquidate that as soon as he can.
No, he's not.
He's getting out, yeah.
Soccer Dave is going to get in there and take the MLS
to a whole new heights. Remember, they move the schedule.
Great idea. It's a great idea.
How many people do you think are going to show up to a Chicago fire game in the middle of January?
When there's 17 inches of snow on the ground in Chicago, and it's like 30 below zero with wind chill.
When was the last baseball lockout?
90, what, 95, 92, something like that?
First spring in 30 years where there's literally no other competition.
In the MLS, the year before, decides we're going to get out of the spring, actually.
We're going to go play when everything else is played.
Just horrendous timing for that to happen.
But they set a necessity if we want to be respected worldwide,
which is what we're aiming to do, Ty.
That's fine.
I'm not going to watch it.
I try it.
So next season is a sprint season because of the switch.
So in 2027, they're doing a sprint season.
It's only 14 games.
And guess what?
You're going to have a lot of cancellations if you try to do any more than that.
The MLS generates approximately $2.5 billion in total.
annual revenue, averaging roughly
83 million per club across
its 30 franchises. League-wide total
two and a half. Average club revenue
83. A lot of repeating
a stat. Key revenue drivers, gate receipts
to ticket sales? Sure.
See? Local and national
sponsorships, merchandise, people buying
jerseys, and the league's meteorites partnership
with Apple TV. Individual
club revenues vary significantly across the league
significantly, heavily boosted by
Star Power like Lou Messi.
Inner Miami might be the only clip that
see from MLS every single week.
Kevin Sullivan had a two-week run there where he was doing some shit.
And I like that that was happening.
Don't like that the immediate move for Kevin Sullivan,
whenever he was a great 14-year-old,
was as soon as this kid's allowed to sign papers to get out of America,
we need to get him the fuck out of here.
Because now he's playing as a teenager in the MLS.
He's electrifying.
So I guess getting him overseas is best for all parties.
Good luck to the MLS.
We will certainly follow along.
Bobby Bowings.
I don't know.
I gave up.
On all the soccer or just MLS?
I mean, for sure the MLS.
All soccer, though.
I just...
We kind of quit on Hall-on when he cut his hair.
Had to.
He's going to be playing in Division 5 soon,
so he better enjoy it while he can't.
They're going to have to liquidate him, huh?
I mean, what's going on in the Premier League is disgusting.
They're at the top of the table.
They've been found guilty of 115 charges of Jitin,
and they're celebrating like it's them against the world
where you're going to get kicked out of the league.
But they're not kicked out of the league.
No? No, so it's just pointless games. It makes no sense.
I like that kind of.
Me too. I'm almost pulling for the team that is a lame duck out there.
Openly cheating and throwing it in everyone's faces and kind of doing a woes me.
And if we win, it's going to get taken back from us so nobody wins.
Oh, I love that.
It's a disgrace.
Wow, Man City might be the team that...
I might be back.
You go see and play Preston in Division 4 next year.
That's next year. We're talking about right now.
Man City, every one of these wins is going to be canceled.
so nobody wins.
All they're doing is taking a win away from the Premier League.
Is that accurate?
They're going to take all this shit back probably?
Yeah, they're appealing right now.
What about goals, though?
Don't count.
None of it's going to count.
Then why would Halalon even play?
That's what I'm saying.
They're acting like any of this matters.
It's insane what's happening.
So every win is going to get revoked.
Any championship they win is going to get recused or whatever.
I don't know if that's the right word, but taken back.
Vacated.
There it is vacated.
Oh, and then they'd just be Liverpool.
You see.
on a shitty red card
given by a ref from Manchester
I mean it's a disgrace
supposed to be the best league in the world
I'm disgusted
Oh so this is probably happening
because Man City fans
probably started chirping the little
Never Walk Alone lad in the back there
If I had it's a plastic club
Always have been bought by money
bought by cheats
There's no pride with that club
They don't belong in the Premier League
But the Liverpool legends
Chelsea legends
Manchester United Legends
Even Taughton them a legendary
club. They've all been robbed Arsenal
by what they've done, and it's
disgusting. I won't stand for it.
All right, thank you. I'll be that state of soccer.
Soccer fans watch the MLS.
Yes. Yeah.
Two point five.
Any international fans? Any international fans
tuned into the MLS? Oh, yeah. Bobby Buwanga,
late night. When Boalanga's run in the pitch.
Messies games are global. That's why it was
on Apple. Yeah. Yeah, of course.
Messies games, yes. I'm just saying in general,
like, are there soccer fans? No.
over in Europe that are watching other MLS.
Levendowski is playing for Chicago.
Messy is the MLS.
You remove MESSI.
This is a fucking, you know,
I go down to the rec center on Saturday,
and it's basically the same thing.
There's a reason it said it significantly varies
when it comes to income because it's messy.
Then enter Miami,
who probably makes less than messy,
and then there's 20 feet of shit,
and then there's all these other teams.
Like the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
Well, they're not in the MLS.
If they were, they would be up there.
Remember, they're in the poop.
They're in the championship of the MLS, which is just piss, poor soccer.
But still, soccer on the West.
Riverhounds have a footprint in Ireland.
Yes, they do.
And in Pittsburgh.
Yeah, a footprint.
A lot of footprints these days all over the place.
Even in trails that are being blazed, they say,
be a friend, tell friends, I'm nice.
It might change your life wearing this thing together.
What a Tuesday.
Still footprints on the moon, right, Ty?
Oh, Jesus Christ.
Here we go again.
I'm not even going to...
I'm not going to answer that.
Go fuck yourself, AJ.
Soccer into the moon?
That would have been a real one-two for Ty.
Savannah bananas before that.
Oh, yeah, not going to let it ruin your Tuesday.
Out of chance.
I think what AJ was saying, though, is that there's no way.
I know what he was saying.
You know, Armstrong from Bopachmanette, Ohio.
We were there.
Neil was there.
Trust me.
Yeah, I don't know why you're trying to fucking shit all over.
over his accomplishments every time you get the opportunity.
That's an interesting way to treat your statesman, but, you know.
It's asking questions.
Just asking questions.
I talked to a guy on a sideline at the Texas game, and he told me his company
had been to the moon 12 times.
Boom.
Wow.
And I said, your company, your people, and he said, we'll talk about it someday, and he gave
me a card.
Fucking Elon was?
No, not Elon, which is why I was so impressed and surprised.
That card is gone.
I have no idea where that guy's card is.
He came out to me, though, very confident that his company's been to the moon, 11 and 12 times.
He'll find you.
Oil, man.
What are they doing up there?
I don't know.
Do we know when they go?
Like, I know we just went, right?
Didn't we just go?
Yeah, very recently.
Did we?
We didn't walk on the moon.
Just took a couple pictures.
Just making sure everything, making sure of the flag that we planted is still there.
Yep, it is.
Okay.
I see fucking Neil's footprints.
I see.
Okay, yep, we're good.
Fucking head back home.
They did a drive-by?
Yeah, exactly.
Watch out for that fucking golf ball that he hit.
That thing's still fucking...
What about all the space junk?
They say it's up there.
How do we avoid that while we're doing?
That's all telemetry.
All telemetry.
They got their systems.
They're making sure, you know,
and the slingshot maneuver,
obviously, is making sure we don't run into any of that space junk.
But wouldn't the slingshot maneuver
potentially slingshot us into the space junk
that we can't really calculate
because it's kind of just floating out there?
A billion miles an hour or something.
We're tracking it all.
Because we're kind of on the outer, outer banks of that gravity, if you will,
so we don't have to worry about that.
It kind of just, it's, it almost flies around it like one of Saturn's rings, if you will.
So in 1969, we knew that.
Yep.
You ever seen hidden figures?
Boom.
Woo!
Peace!
I have seen hidden figures.
Do they talk about the space junk?
Because I think that's a big part of the-
big sticking point.
Is it?
Yeah.
Avoid the space junk.
A lot less space junk in the 60s, too.
Yeah.
Yeah, but still a lot of space
have been around a long time by then.
It's pretty big, though.
Space space wasn't,
I don't think its birthday was in like the 50s.
Maybe, though.
Maybe, we don't know.
A lot of poop from the International Space Station.
Yeah, we weren't polluting until much later.
Do you think it's us that is putting all the space junk in there?
Big time.
Just us?
You don't think there's...
Big time.
I'll watch some George Carlin.
Be a friend, tell a friend something nice.
Plus, there's a lot of vacuums up there.
I thought about this the other day when I was talking to, Coach Saving about it.
Vacuums or space?
All the above.
Okay.
Process.
He said, I don't know.
You know, I've never really thought about it.
I said, well, let's think about it.
You know, I put it in a spot.
Let's have some thought.
Yeah, let's think about it.
I've never heard that before.
Let's think about it.
I've never really thought about it.
It's like, all right, well, let's think.
We've got time right now to think about it.
He goes, it's really big.
I don't know.
I'm like, yeah, exactly.
And everybody thinks that there's only like super smart.
aliens because those are the ones that could potentially make it to us because we don't have the
ability to go so there's definitely stupid species out there on some fucking planet oh yeah that's trapped

Exactly.

They might be really
fucking good.
Some of these things
that I've seen on the
internet of what they could
look like big,
really big.
But also,
they got these little
fucking low leverage
capabilities.
Jumping off sides,
every play.
Ha-ha!
Boom.

You can't do that.
You got to watch the ball.
Personal.

You got four downs for it.
Good luck.
They're never going to get it.
And once again, I always said we'd win the Oklahoma drill.
If they ever showed up, we'd definitely win the Oosklahoma, too.
