Hello beautiful people. Welcome to our humble abode, the Thunderdome. On this Super Bowl overreaction Monday, February 13th, 2023, this show starts now.
Super Bowl is over.
The Super Bowl was of the world.
Yet again, we are in the middle of a dynastic run that we need to respect and appreciate.
We'll be diving into the ins and outs of the Super Bowl from yesterday, all three hours of today's show. We're also looking for you to get your phone calls in at 1-833-432-3663 or 1-833-4-DADO.
Let's hear your overreactions. Let's hear your take. So not only just the Super Bowl,
but the season as a whole. The Philadelphia Eagles looked fantastic yesterday. Thought
they were going to win that game. Jalen Hurts threw for over 300 yards, ran for two touchdowns,
had a fumble recovery, had a fumble that got taken back to the crib, which isn't fantastic. But in the end,
a 17-point fourth quarter by the greatest player in football, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City
Chiefs lead them to yet another Super Bowl. There was rumors that Andy Reid was maybe going to
retire. He said, I think I'm going to hang around. Yeah. I think I'm going to hang around. Patrick
Mahomes obviously doing his thing. Travis
Kelsey was celebrating to the Rocky
tune last night while the Chainsmokers were playing
for the Kansas City Chiefs after party.
Now, there's a lot of question marks around
the holding call with a minute
50-something left in the game that
basically decided that game for the Kansas
City Chiefs. Harrison Buckner still had to
make a kick. Bad ankle, missed one earlier,
had to make the kick, but there, missed one earlier, had to make
the kick, but there was no answer from the Eagles because with that holding call became a first down.
Now, was it a hold? I guess. I suppose. I guess this was a hold. I guess you could call this on
every single fucking play. Bradbury came out and said, I gave a little bit of a tug. I hope they're
going to let it ride. But in that moment, 35-35,
fourth quarter of the Super Bowl. One minute, 48 seconds left. And Patrick saw him get a little
handsy. Now, Patrick has obviously pointed at things that have not been called holds in the
past. But Carl Sheffers and his crew basically deciding that game was something that none of
us wanted, especially in this year where the 3rd-9-9, 3rd-and-9 situation just took place in the AFC Championship game
and basically won it for the Chiefs.
And then the script did in the NFL's rig and all that shit in the biggest game.
150 million people plus watching.
We'll get the data and the analytics this afternoon.
The refs pretty much decide the game.
Don't love that.
Can't have it.
Don't love that at all.
The Philadelphia Eagles had more yards, more first downs,
bigger time of possession.
Basically, everything you could possibly want to have to dominate a game,
they end up losing.
I think Sirianni and the boys will be back.
I honestly believe that this Eagles team with two first-round picks next year,
yes, they have two first-round picks in this upcoming draft.
They have everybody on contract for a while.
I think the Eagles are going to be back dancing,
but the Kansas City Chiefs, it's not their fault that
that holding call was made. That holding call was
made. They made a kick. Patrick Mahomes
is Patrick Mahomes and Darius Toney.
This guy they trade for in the middle of the season
because the New York Giants can't figure out how to get
him on the fucking field. Not only does he have
a walk-in touchdown on a little waggle route
out to the outside, but also
a massive punt return.
And if you listen to Sean Payton talk off-air whenever he joined us the other day,
he said special teams advantage is heavily in the Kansas City Chiefs' favor.
Not just a little bit, heavily in the Kansas City Chiefs' favor.
And in the fourth quarter, 10 minutes left, Sipos punts the ball to the right
that I think was supposed to go to the left.
Kadarius Tony does a nice juke.
Keeps his feet on that ice rink that was the grass field that had been made for two years.
Cuts it all the way back.
Has a wall.
Basically walks almost all the way into the end zone.
They score a couple plays later.
This was a turning point in the game.
And that is a player that they traded for midseason.
The Chiefs were very aggressive.
They bring in Juju.
They trade for this guy.
They lose Tyreek.
They continue to go off without a hitch.
Hell of a year for that dude and Andy Reid and all the Kansas City Chiefs.
Yeah.
Can't have the call, obviously.
There's people out there talking about how it's the right call.
We want the refs to make the right call.
Then we don't want them to make the right call.
I understand it's not an easy job.
That was the first defensive holding they called all game.
We're going to assume that there was a potential touch of the waist of somebody
throughout those four quarters last night.
Oh, yeah.
Except for in the moment that it couldn't be called.
They call it.
The refs decide the game.
We hate that.
Everybody hates that.
But it was a hell of a season, and the Chiefs are the fucking dogs of the NFL yet again.
What a run.
What a year.
And now we wait.
Now we deal with all the off-seasons.
Now we deal with all the litigant lawsuits that are taking place.
Now we deal with contract negotiations.
