Hello, beautiful people. Welcome to our humble abode, the Thunderdome, on this March Madness Thursday.
March 16th, the sports show starts now.
Way!
It is officially 316 day. Happy 316 day to all those who observe.
And also, happy March Madness.
That long, grueling, incredibly exciting college basketball season all leads to today.
Congrats to all these student human athletes who are potentially benefiting or not benefiting from the new NIL deals.
For going out there and battling to become a champion of something that is heralded as one of the greatest stories in the history of sports.
Who will have their one shining moment?
I know next to nothing about most of these teams.
That's right.
I do know that the team that I had practiced with a few times, coached with a little bit.
Why?
Motivated a little bit.
Why?
I know they got a chance to win this whole thing, Texas.
I also know that another team, that me and a man who's been on this stage the last few days for the last couple
of weeks will be rooting for that
are absolutely tipping off
the March Madness tournament this year.
The West Virginia Mountaineers got a team.
Don't they pack me?
We're about to make a deep run,
baby. We're about to make a deep run.
You know what Huggins does? Yeah, playoff.
I mean, what is it? March Madness
Huggins. That's what we call him.
Yeah, absolutely.
We go January, February, Huggins, April, May.
I've never heard that one.
Yeah, that's what they say because Huggy Bear gets his team rolling during the tourney.
He's a tournament coach.
That's what he is.
That's why the teams don't always do that great during the season.
But then in a tournament, look alive.
Who's here?
West Virginia's still here. That's because Huggins't always do that great during the season. But then in a tournament, look alive. Who's here? West Virginia's still here.
That's because Huggins out there doing his thing.
I think they changed the way they go about playing basketball, though.
We're not pressed Virginia anymore.
Do you know the basketball team at all?
I watch the basketball team, and we're not pressed Virginia no more.
We got a good team, though.
And the bracket lines up for us to make a deep run.
Yeah, because second game after we beat this sorry-ass Maryland.
Yeah, they suck.
Sorry about it, Turtles.
Get the hell out of here, dude.
Too slow.
We got a lot of friends that are Turtle alum.
They know what's happening today.
Mountain Dew is taking out the musket.
Dead Turtle.
The biggest game is the second one.
Yeah, we got Bama.
Yeah.
I don't want to talk about the musket or anything.
I don't want to talk about Brandon Miller either.
Greatest player in the country, they say.
Greatest player in the country, they say, which is alarming to us whenever we talk to Reece Davis.
I think we all watched that earlier in the week.
What we're saying is March Madness is, in our world, a time of year that we love.
That's right.
It is exhilarating any time you have action from literally the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep on repeat for numerous days.
March Madness as a thought, as a concept, the way it's executed and handled is phenomenal.
I am a massive fan.
I do wish that sports that we are more interested were able to do what March Madness is able to do because of the style of the sport and, you know, the
way the game is played.
But every single year, this is the same thing.
We lose all of our fucking money betting on kids that are at schools we don't even know
exist.
That's what March Madness inevitably is looking back on it from a financial standpoint.
But from an environment, from a vibe standpoint, this is partly...
