Hey, everybody. Peter Zine here, coming from Colorado. It is the 17th of June, Wednesday.
And I just got back from a short backpacking trip. And the news that I heard was that there is now a deal in place between Iran and the United States.
When I heard the terms, I thought it was an onion article. So I kind of laughed it off. Then I realized, oh, wow, this is really supposedly the deal.
So let me give you the deal. I really have my back of envelope notes here. We'll talk about it.
In no particular order, the United States will release all the funds that have been frozen by all previous American administrations to Iran immediately.
There will be a $300 billion investment fund, which is like a restitution program, to pay for the damage the United States inflicted during this most recent war.
That will be at least $300 billion U.S.
The United States will immediately withdraw all sanctions in all forums, whether for nuclear, for militant issues, weapons, exports, whatever you call it.
All of them are immediately gone.
The Iranians have the right to regulate the Strait of Hormuz, hand in hand perhaps, with Oman.
Charging fees is part of that process for services.
The United States withdraws all military forces from anywhere near Iran.
Nuclear issues will be discussed at a later time, and there are no mentions at all of Iran's missile program or its militant proxies throughout the region.
This reads to me like it was written by an individual.
on the first day after being tortured into obedience by the KGB. This would be a complete strategic
capitulation of everything the United States has cared about in the broader region for the last 45
years. And the only way that something like this happens is if you have a government that is so
checked out on the American side that it didn't even bother to show up to negotiations, which we know
is true. These negotiations were all handled by the Iranians, the Pakistanis, and some countries in the
golf. Or you have a complete level of incompetence and foreign policy, which we have seen repeatedly,
or the guy at the top is suffering from severe dementia with considering his performances at the
G7 summit in the last 48 hours. You have to consider that as well. It is difficult to
overstate what a collapse an American position agreement to this would be. About all I can say
for the plus side is that this is not attributed to any specific person, the details. It was an
anonymous White House senior official who read it on the phone to a series of media. It feels like a
trial balloon, but a trial balloon that should be shot down by pine needles, much less needles, much
less bullets. We will find out in the next 48 hours just how broken the White House is. But if this is any
indication this is something that should have never gotten past the first day of the war back in
February. And if this is as far as this administration can take this, we are in some serious
shit when real issues start to arrive. That's all I got, folks.
