During his tenure, Johnson orchestrated Brexit, navigated COVID, and weathered a lockdown party scandal that led to a narrowly escaped no-confidence vote. However, on Tuesday, a spokesperson for Johnson admitted that the PM had been informed about sexual misconduct allegations against one of his party's members of parliament and had, quote, forgotten about it when he promoted the man to a cabinet position in February. The news proved to be the scandal that broke the camel's back. It prompted a tidal wave of government resignations and calls for Johnson's own departure. On Thursday, Johnson announced that he would step down immediately
Starting point is 00:01:08 as the leader of the Conservative Party and resign as prime minister as soon as a replacement is found. That's not the only reason for hope. Gas prices are also expected to decline to don't need to weep openly at the pump levels over the next month. Fingers crossed. Regardless of whether the broader economy is struggling or thriving, Christians should seek to give generously of our time, talents, and resources to those in greater need. While Big Olaf has reiterated that the link hasn't been confirmed, it stopped selling its products last week. Jewel pods, on the other hand, are remaining on shelves. After a federal appeals court blocked last month's ban on the e-cigarettes, the FDA has temporarily suspended its ban to conduct further review. In viral news, no, not TikToks, pharmacists can now prescribe Paxlovid. That's the leading antiviral pill to treat COVID-19 without a physician's sign-off. And New York is boosting their monkeypox vaccine stock after state cases swung from 55 to 111 in the

Officials say that the 21-year-old suspect arrested for the mass shooting during the 4th of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois, confessed to the attack and said he considered attacking a second parade in Madison, Wisconsin later that day. Apple introduced a new layer of skin on Wednesday with a security option called Lockdown Mode. Billed as, quote, an extreme optional protection, it's designed to prevent sophisticated spyware from hacking into the phone. It also prevents iPhones from interacting with manually connected devices, which is one of the primary ways police obtain forensic evidence. WNBA star Brittany Griner, who was arrested five months ago in a Russian airport for having vape canisters containing cannabis oil, pled guilty to drug possession charges yesterday.
Starting point is 00:05:30 She faces 10 years in prison, but supporters hope the U.S. State Department will negotiate her freedom much, much sooner. The FBI and MI5 issued a rare joint statement calling China the quote, biggest long-term threat to the U.S. and U.K.'s economic and national security, referencing a global network of Chinese agents tasked with stealing technology.
