A first for a child of a sitting president. Hunter is accused of lying about his drug use when buying a firearm in 2018. He's since said he was addicted to crack cocaine at the time. The indictment makes no mention of any of the tax violations that were part of a previous plea deal. That deal, which would have allowed Hunter to avoid jail time, unexpectedly fell apart in July after a judge raised concerns. Hunter's lawyer criticized the indictment, saying it's the result of mega Republicans' improper and partisan interference. Senator Chuck Grassley called the indictment a starting point for justice. Everyone agrees that courtrooms will play a big role in the 2024 presidential race.

a search dog named Yoda, subdued him before he could escape again. U.S. Marshals say he planned to carjack his way to Canada. Cavalcante was recently sentenced to life without parole for the 2021 murder of his ex-girlfriend. He's also wanted in his home country of Brazil for allegedly murdering someone before illegally fleeing to the U.S. He was arraigned on new charges Wednesday afternoon and is now back behind bars in a maximum security prison west of Philadelphia. Scattered Spider hacked Caesars Entertainment last month, forcing them to pay millions of dollars. Shares of Caesars Entertainment and MGM both fell on Wednesday.
